Close to all amenities with easy access to local transport options, with the under ground less than a 2 minute walk away of the hotel. There are also plenty of food options catering for all types of dietary requirements. A shopping center is also in close proximity.

I stayed at this hotel after I found out that my reservation for the Greater London Hotel was cancelled. I stayed in the executive suite 2 and everything went fine. I had breakfast in the Greater London Hotel which was very good. Staff at both hotels were friendly and helpful.

First of All we booked the Best Western Greater London and about 6 weeks before our vacation we got an information that our stay would be in Best Western Ilford Hotel. We also booked our rooms (double and twin) with hot breakfast included. After arrival at the hotel we got two quad rooms in the external back of the hotel, which was ok and no problem for us. The rooms were ok, it ist good London standard but newer ever compared to german standard with 4 Stars, as it is described. The rooms were quite big an the were cleaned every day. The really negative thing were the "Grab&Go Breakfast bags", which can't bei described as a breakfast. After Stalking to the manager we were invite to get breakfast in the Greater London Hotel, what was a really good solution.

I was in the summer, already at Best Western but in another house, which was very good, this time we were in the main building .... I took this room because of the breakfast offered, if I had known, since a breakfast room is described that there are only grab bags , how can you give air travelers (no knife or fork allowed in your luggage) a yoghurt, a croissant with butter, egg and jam, that's breakfast (where was the hot breakfast offered?) without cutlery, how should you the food? then the room if you're not on vacation before 9 a.m. leave a lottery game is whether it's cleaned because you can't eat in the room if it's not vacuumed because there's no table to eat, on Christmas day only the grab bag wanted to try to have breakfast we were thrown out of the room because of cleaning...a trail of ants on the wall...from the size of the room single room with double bed?.Every day you have to have your room card rewritten at the reception. I've been with Booking for years but I've never come across anything like that, many thanks for a very bad holiday to Best Western..never again in the best western

Location is good, near the shops, bus stops nearby and a tube station minutes away. Check-in was a bit spotty: I had asked for early check-in and was told there would be no problem, but that didn't work out as planned. Still, did get a room a little early. My room was a bit cramped (although OK by London standards I guess). Quite clean, heating was fine, had some storage space, lighting OK. Nice big windows (street level). Medium sized flat-screen on the wall, and wifi worked fine. The shower seemed a little low quality difficult to get the water temperature to stay even & shower head holder was broken. Breakfast was varied and not bad at all. Overall - good VFM - a decent hotel with easy access to central London.

My sister and I stayed here as part of her birthday treat to revisit some of our childhood memories. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - especially Anna who organised our lovely family room and made sure we were happy with everything. The room was very large with 2 comfy double beds and it was all spotlessly clean. Although we were on the busier road it was very quiet. Breakfast was good and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay.

Great place at an excellent price. Stayed here for a work. Beds were large and comfortable, although the duvet is quite thin. Rooms are small but plenty for whst i needed. Very large work desk for my laptop. Cleanliness is excellent. Car park secure. What more could be asked for.

A group of 25 ladies booked an afternoon tea. There was no waitress service - only one young lady with very little English to cater for the whole group. The food was edible but insufficient and not as promised, more like the leftovers from the breakfast buffet. If a second cup of tea was required it had to be made by the ladies themselves. A letter to the manager and his reply informed them that the difficulty was lack of training of the staff , Do not book an afternoon tea with Best Western if you don't want to be ripped off! Customer Service do not want to know!!

Excellent stay. Our room was clean and modern. All the beds were comfortable and when we needed extra mugs and milk reception were very helpful. Breakfast both mornings was delicious, with staff going above and beyond to serve freshly poached eggs and boiled eggs.

We were made to feel so welcome on our arrival and the room was lovely and clean. The brekfast staff were lovely,there was a very short wait for food and drinks. I would strongly recommend if family's are looking for a hotel to stay in Ilford, they stay at this one. Thank you so much for the amazing stay and we can't wait to come again.

Room was extremely hot because it was enclosed and only one fan provided. Did not sleep at night. Left window open but nothing worked. Kids could not sleep either. Beds are poor quality. Carpets dirty. £250 for two nights for an area where you smell drugs as you walk out, is a bit too much. This is a builders hotel. Not for families. ABSOLUTELY impossible to get parking at this hotel. Builders vans parked up for two to three days. Do not come expecting to park for free. The cheapest parking available nearby is £7 to for 2 hours. Mould in bathroom which for a family room was so tiny you could not swing a cat in it. No fridge available.

Hi I stayed at this hotel for five nights early in September, the room was very cramped too hot and they had left us one cup, we had to go to reception every time we went back to the room to have the door card reactivated. They took a £50 deposit which I thought they would automatically return! I've emailed twice now for a refund and invoice! If you visit this place please ensure you get your deposit back and an invoice before you leave.

Staff was very welcoming, service with a smile, room was adequate for the duration of the stay as only used as a place to rest as was visiting relatives. Only thing bad we learned was don't put key card near phones as can disable the card. But got rectified. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly. Great comfortable room. There was a slight banging noise during the night and I did mention this as I checked out. The member of staff did say they would look into this. Apart from this, no complaints. I would definitely use this hotel again and recommend it.

My rewiew is copy paste of Chloe's rewiew. We had absolutely same experience - smell, dirty, noise. Unfortunately all the hotels in the area are same. Because we checked maybe 5 or 6. Small rooms, dirty carpets, dirty sheets hair everywhere. I will recommend to use a transport and go further. We were really late and tired. There was a price list on the reception says "starts from £69+". They took us £50 deposit and we payed £180 for the room. Its almost big enough for one person but not more. I can't imagine how the room for 68-69 will looks like. This room does not cost more than £20. Even this is too much. I still have the feeling of my body is dirty and ichie after two showers I've got. JUST AVOID ILFORD AREA!!! "Unpleasant experience We finally arrived, having already been taken to two places in Ilford - one being where they take a £50 deposit and the other to check in then sent with a key to get to the opposite building. The smell inside the hallways had a strong unpleasant smell and the room was even worse. It smelt as though a rat had been living in it for weeks, or at the very least damp urinated smell in carpet, I couldn't work out where the smell was coming from and a glade bottle of air freshener didn't help. I then go into the toilet and find multiple pubic hairs on the toilet which is vile!! I then got ready to go out and the dressing table hasn't been cleaned either. I felt dirty getting ready it wasn't a nice feeling. I darent get under the covers of the bed, but then again the room was very hot no air con and no fan. Trying to get to sleep was very difficult too as we had people right outside our room shouting and laughing in the hall ways, people running up and down stairs and bashing the walls of the next room. Over all it was an awful stay and I will never be returning here again"

Hotel front desk staffs are excellent - specially Adriana and Mika. Hotel is been created from few over 150 years residential homes but work is very low quality, hole ways are uneven and very dangerous for everyone. Property management/ owners are not keeping up and needs full renovations. This hotel is 25 years behind. Another good point is their breakfast, they serve good British full breakfast and location is very close to Ilford railway stations.

Hotel only 5 min walk to Ilford centre and train station, Good selection of cooked and Continental Breakfast items. Rooms. Slight problem with first room, but went to reception and very quickly swapped our room, moved our bags for us, very impressed. Staff were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay . Thank you so much to you all. Would stay again and recommend .

The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and Receptionist Mani asked how our stay was going every time.. Andrea was helpful in the morning aswell.. They also were able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed. Breakfast was excellent and just 15 min by tube to central London.

deal base to visit Ilford and surrounding area. Located right by train station, buses and short walk to restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice a little small but great showers. Asked for extra pillows and towels which was no trouble. Would recommend if on a budget

The room was fantastic, I loved that it had a comfortable bath, and a shower head. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and so much choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly, so it was a great stay. Definitely recommend it.

Disappointed with my room where I must have hit my head on the sloping ceiling at least 20 times. Very dark also in the room and with small beds. Parking spaces very limited and all used up by 5pm. Staff were trying hard to please but little they can do. Breakfast was ok for £5.

The section of the hotel allocated to my guest and i was a renovated self contained apartment. The main door to the section of this apartment/part of the hotel was very untidy with the key knob going on for ages. The room was clean but definitely needed updating. The Bathroom/Shower needed to be replaced (very old) Customer service was average.

this hotel was ok . served the purpose of a night to sleep after the abba voyage show. we had a room for me hubby and granddaughter and my daughter and her boyfriend had a room just up the steps from us. tea and coffee facilities good and was nice and clean. the only peev i have is i have paid £100 deposit for the 2 rooms and 9 days later it hasnt been refunded to my bank account. this is a long time to hold my money. should have been refunded on the check out. hopefully get it back today.

Stayed in Executive Suite No1; family room with two double beds. Relocated here from sister Best Western in Ilford because it had parking available whereas the other hotel did not. Staff at hotel when we booked in for one night were excellent and bent over backwards to be helpful, but they are let down by the hotel itself which is old and very tired; accommodation badly needs the bedrooms and bathrooms to be refurbished to bring them into the 21st century. Regrettably we were woken up at 5am by some guest smoking in his room which set the fire alarm sounding throughout the hotel forcing guests to dress and evacuate only to be told by the night porter (who just shrugged) that it was a false alarm. Anna who signed us in the afternoon before at least apologised when we signed out later that morning. The cooked buffet breakfast was as substantial as one wanted it to be, but elements of it, e.g. the hash browns, were soaked in oil and inedible, and I'm not sure what the ‘bacon' was or from what animal or vegetable it originated from. The eggs - both fried and poached - and the baked beans were excellent however, so it clearly pays to be selective. The attending female staff in the restaurant didn't appear to speak or understand much English, because when I spoke to them to ask a question, I was ignored initially, until I repeated myself a few times. Overall, this is not somewhere I would stay again, which is a shame, because the front of house desk staff deserve to get a better response.

Brilliant little hotel. I don't understand why some people are so entitled and totally slatting this hotel. They do ask for a £50 deposit incase you damage something which is understandable and also they do ask for an ID which is understandable. If you dont want to follow rules, then you should stay in your own house. Dnt be so entitled. I have staid in many hotels around the world Nd majority do ask for identification. Only one that does not ask are small budget hotels and bed and breakfast. Also some people on here feeling entittled and complaining about ac, i have checked and dont see anywhere advertised that they have a AC. This hotel is a classic. You get what you pay for. There staff here are polite. Very helpful and always at hand to help. The facility is okay. The beds are comfortable. Located next to elizabeth line, this is a wonderful location. You can be in liverpool street within 15mins. Thank you once again to all staff. We work in liverpool street and its easier to travel in the morning. Saves money and time. I will be recommending this to my colleagues and i shall be bringing more business.

Fortunately, unless you're a tradesman, you won't have to experience this place. No air con, bath towel the size of a tea towel, no parking, and it's in Ilford. The staff are friendly but why should I have to provide a £50 security deposit when my company has paid for the room? And why should I give my driving licence and personal information? Totally unnecessary.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Ilford. Train station only 1 minute walk. Room was small but super clean and a lovely shower. Breakfast the next day was good quality products. Reception people, extremely helpful. Highly recommended at a fab price.

Love this hotel. The staff are fantastic.The rooms are large and clean. Everything works well. Great all you can eat breakfast for a good price. Hotel is centrally located to enable easy travel and access to Centre of London from zone 4. Highly recommended.

Great location, easily accessible and has shops nearby for dining, takeaways and also has a nearby shopping complex. Fantastic and super helpful staff to attend to the finest details and make your stay comfortable. Breakfast was freshly made, hot and tasted great. You have a good assortment to choose from the buffet and kick start your day in a great way. Personally had a great stay and was glad to have my road bike in my room during my stay.

Very pleasant and comfortable hotel, 3 min walk from the train station from where you can get to Liverpool Street Station London in 20 mins with a train every 10 minutes. The staff are very friendly. All of them very helpful. Will definitely go there again if we go to London.

Very Clean and great location. The guy at reception was absolutely star as he helped us with parking. Been staying here few times for work and recently took my wife there for a weekend and she absolutely loved the hotel and staff there. Highly recommend for work or for leisure.

Staff nice enough but the first room they gave me was small and cranky, on the ground floor just giving out on the noisy street. Then I just realized that the rest of the building was rented out to a group of school teenagers, so you can imagine how quiet the rest of the night was... After some convincing, they gave me a bigger room in the same building on the first floor, so it was much better, even though it was still noisy. All in all the stay could have much better, so I'm a little disappointed.

It was a very nice and warm stay. I liked the food, the service was excellent and they went above and beyond to help us in any way and answer all the questions we had. I especially loved Anna. She was very lovely and kind. She even gave us a handwritten map with directions that we were asking. The room service was everyday, it was always smelling good. The only thing I didn't like is that the bathrooms were very small and no air conditioning. Besides that, it was great!

These guys made my stay excellent in Ilford. I did not expect such a warn greetings from this hotel team. The front desk is up to hotel standars, Best Western makes the difference copare with other non-recognised brands. I've noticed that room was quite big and absolutely calmed, no issues with the noise. I was late on breakfast, however, they did not say anything to me and I was served with lovely hot breakfast and their famous pancakes. I would say, absolutely, yes to the team and this location. Well Done, guys! Keep going up!

Despite what the sign says on the door, there is no way on earth that this is a 4 star hotel. Reception expected me to hand over my driving licence so that they could take a copy of it, I absolutely refused, in this day and age of identity theft it's irresponsible to ask for such things. Eventually they backed down and I was handed a key to a room in a building on the the other side of the road that was reached by going down some steps and back outside again - essentially like a motel room. The room is clean but that's about all it has going for it.

I stayed at best western ilford on Sunday, I had already approached two other nearby hotels and was greeted with very unprofessional attitude. When I spoke to felix muiga who was extremely kind and even apologised on behalf of the other hotels I had spoken to he made me feel instantly at ease with his friendly and helpful attitude. He helped to make it a quick and easy process as it was late and I had my young daughter who had school the next day and myself had work so I was getting quite uptight about settling for the evening. Based on my treatment I would definitely stay again even though the new staff the next day was nowhere near as helpful as felix and actually left a bitter end to a lovely stay. Felix is an asset to your hotel and has made me consider to use best western ilford as my regular hotel when I have to work in the area Thanks again Would definitely recommend the rooms the hotel itself and the staff (not so much the morning staff but maybe he was tired!! :-)

Dont book a standard double if its more than a 1 night stay, Rooms are very small. Very clean, We had a room next to a corridor door, this bangs all night, Came in from a show around 10pm and went to reception as the guest information said they sold cold soft drinks, Only to get a strange look and told to go to another hotel along the road to buy them, Wasnt what i expected to be told when asking about a service they say they provide. I had 3 preauthorization's taken from my card, 2 separate ones for the room rates taken before I had even arrived at the hotel, even though i was still within cancellation policy and another for a £50 deposit, No Best Western rewards recognition on arrival either,

I had a booking from the 15th to 17th June 2022 and because of ill health we couldn't come till after midnight. I had already rang them at 11pm and explained that we wouldn't be arriving till after 1.30am and I was told that was fine. I also told them that I required gluten free breakfast items and was told to let the breakfast staff know. When I arrived at 2am I was told that I would be moved to a sister hotel because of maintenance issues but there was no parking so to go there as it was only round the corner. The sister hotel was over a mile away and there was no way I could've walked that distance with luggage etc at that time of night. I nafe a fuss and a taxi dropped us off to the sister hotel which had people outside who unfortunately didn't look very friendly and were asking for change. I didn't feel safe at all in the apartment and even though it was 3.30 am I couldn't sleep. I was awake at 8.30 and went to ask for breakfast and I was told that there are no hot breakfasts just grab bags. I did get 2 but there was nothing in there that I could have except for an apple and a yoghurt. I rang Best Western who did provide a taxi back to the hotel as they had a room available now. The staff did give us a breakfast but I was so disappointed at being moved at that time and especially in a questionable area that I don't feel happy at my stay and wouldn't recommended the hotel to anybody else.

First night spend in a room which smelt of sewage in the room and outside the door. No Wi-Fi no signal on TV. 1 cup and 3 saucers 3 of us in the room. No hot water! Complained to be told not her fault owner built rooms by sewer! However her attitude did change and moved us to the main part of hotel. Room ok nothing to write home about! I secured a "Superior" room at the Best Western Ilford through Expedia. When my wife and I arrived in the evening, the front desk clerk seemed to have a hard time finding my booking. She then said she needed to take an additional £50 "cleanliness" deposit on the card through which the room was booked. I stepped out to get my wife and bags from the car, and when we returned to the desk, the clerk then says, "there is a maintenance problem with your room", and then she sends us across the street to The Lucky Eight hotel, "with whom we have made an arrangement". The Lucky Eight is very sketchy looking and doesn't fail to disappoint. However, by this time it is very late at night and no other nearby hotels have vacancies, so we were stuck. The room was tiny (barely a foot on either side of the less-than-double-width bed) and it was dirty, smelled very musty with peeling paint and marks on the walls and a soiled box spring mattress. The bathroom smelled of mould, and I had to go and request a second towel, even though it was supposedly a double room. The pillows were flat and hard, which just added to the charm of the undersized bed for the two of us. There was a single small window, which looked out onto a roof which was covered in bags of rubbish and cigarette butts. Overall, I would have preferred to have been back in a military tent on the edge of the airfield in Qatar during the war than in this scuzzy flea trap. Absolutely my worst experience with Expedia and Best Western. I realise the photos are of the Lucky Eight, but this is where Best Western sent us. We were their customer and this is the level of service they provided! Not what I paid for, by any means. I spoke to the desk personnel in the morning, but there was no sense that either of them could even spell "customer service" let alone understand the concept. No apologies, no attempt to make things right. Fine. I will never voluntarily stay in a Best Western hotel again - ever - and I will happily dissuade any friends and family from doing the same. Best Western? What a joke - Worst Western would be more accurate.

We have stayed before, however this room was particularly small. It was also very noisy but this was due to inconsiderate guests. Ear plugs were purchased for the second night stay. It served its purpose for our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Room clean and with with all the necessaries. To have parking is a priority for us and this is accomodated for. Location is perfect for our needs. Will return on our next London visit, but will request a bigger (quieter) room.

I booked a room for my husband who was working away from home. He arrived at the hotel and "John" would not let him check in without a £50 deposit. I had already called earlier in the day as he did not have his wallet to check the payment would be ok online and was advised this was all ok. "John" still refused the check in. he refused to give the name of the person on duty earlier in the day and refused to give the hotel managers name. "John" clearly needs a lesson or 2 in customer service. I am still waiting for someone to show me where in the T&Cs it advises of the deposit as it definitely does not state it in the ones i have read. "Johns" last words.....sorry i cant help you anymore I have someone waiting to check in........errrrr you havent helped at all!!!

We were told the rooms were being refurbished so you have to go to another hotel. When we arrived at the new location, there was no parking. The room was barely 6 feet by 8 feet. One side of the bed was touching the wall, so one of us had to climb over the other to get into and out of bed. Considering I paid extra money to have a bigger room.The room was so small that it was clostrophobic and my wife started to panic, so we decided to leave the hotel, fortunately we found a room in the local Premier Inn. It cost me another £50, because the booking was for the same night. But I had a decent room and place to sleep. It was my first experience of Best Western, Never again I will use Best Western. In one photo you can see a cigarette burn mark on the bed linnen. In the other photo you can see the size of room and one side of bed touching the wall.

I booked a family room but just me and my son staying who is 6ft 5" so i thought we would get a double bed each. On arrival we checked in and was told at reception we were being upgraded to a even bigger room which would sleep 5. Got to the room which was in the annex across the road and room was on top floor. Had 2 single beds and a double! How do you sleep 5? Bathroom was tatty with rust on side of the bath. Bed sheet only covered half the bed. Only 1 cup to make tea or coffee when there was 2 of us. Worst hotel yet that i have stayed in

Terrible stay, our bed had blood on the sheets when we pulled back the covers, not just spots but a large stain, when we asked for it to be changed, we were told we would have to wait until the morning for house keeping. The staff were unfriendly and rude, we asked for our money back as we wanted to go elsewhere, they refused. Also had cockroaches in our room, stay there at your own risk.

Being moved from other hotel here,the most awful experience had it in a hotel. Booked an extension as i am in London for work and that was cancelled with 5 days before due to expired credit card,being to reception straight after I received the cancellation email to sort it out,but the receptionist told me to come next day as he is not dealing with payments. Went next day and the duty manager(as he called him self) said that is nothing he can do and asked to pay £150/night. My booking was for 14 days and initial amount for entire booking was £587. His attitude was so disgraceful and nit helpful at all. Basically i was kicked out from the hotel. Second issue was the fire alarm that was going off every night,and what actually staff was doing,instead to prohibit certain people to smoke in the room,they just switched off the fire alarm during the night,which due to uk regulation this is a major health and safety issue. Sorry,but i am not recommending this hotel. Regards Adrian

We booked with Best Western for the first time and wasn't that impressed. The family room was just right for me and my partner but far too small for a family and being up in the roof on the third floor, I wouldn't like to take little children up there. What a climb, could do with a lift. The worse thing was the beds. They were too low down and the mattress was way to lumpy. Could feel every spring. Needs a top up mattress at least if not new ones. The breakfast was good. Plenty of it and fresh too. The cost was fair but the way the bill is presented is confusing. Having booked on line the small print states the amount will be deducted closer to the date of stay but on arrival I was asked to pay again with the same card using my pin. Then a security of £50 was presented as a type of bond, which is returned in 10 days time. However I found that on checking my account all 3 amounts had been withdrawn. Now waiting for the repayment. Not a good system or image for the company.

Me and my friends travelled from Middlesborough to attand a festival. We arrived there and reception was overcrowded, receptionist noticed us as we walked in. She assured everyone will be served. We felt important even if we arrived the last. We booked a double room but we were 3, she noticed immediately and accommodate us in a nice triple room with a little extr charge. The room was absolutely nice, clean. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops, there is a pub even. Bottom line Andy's service (receptionist girl) great. Cleaning brilliant. Price good too.

My family checked out on August 6, 2021, from 3-5 Argyle Road, Ilford location. It's been over 2 months now and the 50pounds pre-authorisation debit from our card is yet to be refunded up till this moment despite mails and reminders. I booked a standard family room on an upper floor but was shocked to be given a smelly, damp, and leaking room in the basement. I rejected and was eventually given another. The cleaners do not do a good job with the cleaning, the room was covered in dust after the so-called cleaning before check-in and this continued each day after cleaning. The cleaners just come to lay beds, do shoddy bathroom cleaning, rug cleaning, do not clean the table and other wooden items with napkins. I will not recommend this hotel at all and customers should be ready to wait a long period for their pre-authorization debit refund.

We had a room booked a few days ago and arrived at 8.30pm to check in to the hotel. The check in was fine and we quickly received our room key. This was helpful as we had our 5 year old and newborn baby with us. However, things went downhill from there. We had specified at the time of our booking on the phone that we will be arriving with small children. However, we were surprised that we had received a room so high up in the building (room 59). We had to carry so much luggage up and down the stairs due to our baby. This was very inconvenient and was definitely a struggle with little children. Once we got to the entrance leading to our room, the whole passageway smelt of drugs and weed! When we went into our room, the smell was worse. We had arrived at the children's bedtime and my daughters slept with that smell for about 3 hours before it went away. I called reception about this as soon as we got into the room. They said they would send security to check. However, no one called me back to say what they would do for me. I had to call reception again, only to be told that there were no other rooms and that my children would have to sleep through it. What I'm surprised by is that they ask for the estimated time for check in before we arrive. If they knew we would be at the room at this time, why is it that no one checked that everything is in order before we arrived? I understand they cannot control what other guests do; however, there was a huge window of opportunity for them to check that the room was in good shape. I have been passed around when putting this complain through. On the evening of our stay the receptionist told me to speak to someone else during the following morning. He told me to email in! I've emailed in, called three times since to speak to the manager Sasha Bukina and have had no response. She seems extremely busy trying to put off customers and her staff seem scared to approach her too. How ridiculous is this?! The price we paid does not justify our stay at the hotel. Especially seeing as my newborn was subjected to such a horrendous smell whilst illegal substances were being used on site. We could have stayed at a cheaper hotel, but chose to stay with Best Western. Although the room was in a decent state, we also found some beetles crawling around near the bedside. NEVER AGAIN! Steer clear of this hotel especially if you have children. They don't care at all.

Poor 2 night stay. Door to room appeared to have been kicked in at some point, broken mirrors, bathroom so small you had to enter sideways same goes for shower. Damp on ceiling and for the pleasure of all this they made you leave a £100 deposit in case you damaged something! Would definitely not recommend for families some very dubious charectors hanging around.

Shocking service! Booked this via hotels . com it was showing as a 4 star hotel. Paid £144 for 2 nights, travelled 4 hours and checked in at 19:45 to get told there was an issue with my room and they moved me to their sister hotel. Their sister hotel was disgusting and not even a 2 star. I will attach photos. I kept getting woken up and asked for a extra pillow as I was only provided one and they could only give me a extra towel to sleep on. Called hotel .com to complain who contacted the hotel and their response was that I requested an early check in so they accommodated myself and moved me to their sister hotel. What a lie check in was at 14:00 I checked in at 19:45. Hotels have since resolved my issue by providing myself with a small voucher. Yes they say you pay for what you get but this room was not worth £144. Do not stay in this horrible hotel!

With 2 out of 5 I am trying to be as fair as possible as it wasn't all bad. I arrived before check in time and although the room wasn't ready (I don't have a problem with that) the hotel said I could park and do all the check in paperwork so when I returned later I would just need to collect the key. When I returned at 10pm as I had said I was given the key to my room. I had booked a small double but when I got to the room I found it to be large room, good temperature and clean with a double and 2 single beds in it. I didn't to much about it thinking that as there for 1 night if that was the free room then bonus. I had been in the room for about 20 mins when suddenly in walked another family. I said I was in the room and off they went. Then about 10 mins later the night hotel staff came along and said they had been a mix up and they needed me to move. That's when my trouble started. They gave me a different room upstairs but assured me it was just as good. They lied. It was a single not a double very hot and smelly. When I said at reception it was like they were expecting it. After a lot of huffing and puffing they took me to the lucky 8 hotel up the road. I was told it was owned by the same person and was actually newer and the rooms better. Another lie. ( see my review of Lucky8). When I returned to get my car the next morning I spoke to the receptionist about my room and she was empathetic and said she could already see a refund had been requested. Guess what. Another lie. Not only have I never received a refund they have actually debited my card twice. I did email them prior to this but guess what, no reply.

Parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and many guests will find they have to drive around Ilford, and chance their luck to park on a meter somewhere. The room we were to stay in had black plastic (like a bin-bag) taped to the door glass, like some crime scene. Water stains on the ceiling, and smell of damp. The general standard of the room is extremely low, even for a budget hotel. This is the second-worst hotel room we have ever experienced (and the winner was in a developing country). We walked away, and are now chasing for a refund. Do yourself a favour, look elsewhere...

My wife and kids stayed here as it was 2mins away from the train station and we planned a weeken touring central lonfon sites.. Very convenient. Good nihht sleep, amazing full English breakfast to set us right for the day and we did not have to worry about parking our as we were able to leave our car parked as long as we were checked in guests... had a lovely stress free weekend... kids were happy, wife happy... I'm happy... will definitely stay here again...

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay in a comfortable double room. The room was spacious and the facilities were good value for money. Extra cabinets on the wall would be helpful as the wardrobe was big enough for a weekend break than say a one week stay. Free WiFi was provided and the signal strength was strong. Room service was prompt when we needed something. The ensuite shower room and toilet was very clean. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel as long as you book in advance to get a discount rate.

Very disappointed. Hotel is very tired and not 3 star. More like 1-2 stars. Rooms need updating and while clean enough will never be to the standard you would expect from a Best Western. Amenities were non-existent (a few foil packets of shampoo were a joke). Carpet damaged and stained. Shower was worst ever with rusty fittings and no water pressure. Furniture in whole room was damaged and poor state. Mattresses old and you can feel the springs. Pillows were a joke as needed 3 just to raise your head. Complained to reception who showed me executive and other rooms to move to but they were just as bad so didn't see the point moving rooms. Will never return!

The hotel was cheap and cheerful. It needs some attention to detail. Fixing repairs appropriately and promptly. Overall the hotel needed a little more cleaning. Room was more than adequate with coffee facilities. Fairly clean but clean where it mattered, spacious room with TV and shower, although the shower needed repairing. The staff needs retraining or changing. Some of the staff are very condescending and don't really listen. They should also be not taking private calls whilst guests are waiting, and certainly not use abuse or swearing language and they shouldn't swear at guests when asking for items either! Breakfast and the breakfast staff were very good! This was done very well.

Positive points: We booked this hotel due to attending a wedding. We were 3 couples and all together we were 12 people. Very good location of the hotel for a good price. There is parking available but you can't reserve it. The breakfast was superb, only the staff serving us could not handle a big family like us. She was just not humorous, but I still thanked her for the amazing service. Negative points: The room was not what I was expecting. They asked for deposit which was not written while booking online. When I booked, it showed me a different room and was not what I was given. The bathroom is so small that you cant turn properly and not even closing the glass door so the water doesn't splash. The fan was so small and could not reach us properly which we could not sleep properly due to hot day. It was a bad experience for me and my family. Not suitable for the families.

Really bad experience, The staff was unprofessional on the reception, I've booked my double room with two double beds which i've paid extra for the specific room but when I tried to explain the receptionist they made an excuse that the rooms were automatically allocated when you book online which wasn't true as on the website they've mentioned the different prices for the different rooms. The room they've given us in the loft which wasn't suitable for the family specially if you're staying there with your kids.

We booked the room via telephone. We wasn't told that there will be a deposit that needed to be paid. We was told by reception staff - felix to pay by card and said that the deposit would be double if in cash (£100) He then said he wouldn't give us a receipt for the deposit. He assured us he would be at reception to give us the deposit back (cash) which he wasn't. As for the room we had a damaged wardrobe no refreshments and only one small window for ventilation. The carpet in the room was sticky and bathroom was not the best. The breakfast that was given was very oily and rushed to the table the waiter had no mask or gloves on and neither did reception staff show was there in the morning. I will NOT be booking here again.

Pros: The lady on reception was very nice and friendly. Cons: I had to work in Ilford from 8pm until 6am, so when booking this and asked for any special requirements I said that all I need is a bed to sleep in from about 6am until early afternoon and a place to park. This was accepted, but when I got here I was told check out was at 11am, I asked the lady at reception if it could be later as requested and she pushed it to noon. Not ideal, but it was an extra hour. Unfortunately, from 10-noon I had the housekeeper knocking on my door shouting at me. Had to argue with her at 11am as she was insiting I had to checkout at 11. By the time she stopped shouting at me, I was awake. Also, there was no car parking spaces. So they never actually delivered on anything I wanted. However, the lady on reception was nice.

The constant noise, doors opening and slamming, people on phones, drawers opening and closing, people doing what sounds like moving furniture.... LITERALLY 24/7. I have no idea what goes on there as this hotel literally NEVER SLEEPS!!! I got hardly any sleep due to the constant noise. The bed was rock hard and uncomfortable, on my first morning when I asked for some of those little plastic milks that are usually supplied so I could make coffee in my room I was told there'd been no delivery... so I had to walk to the main street to buy my own milk!!! I won't even comment on the absolute joke that was the "grab and go breakfast"!!! The lady who checked me in was lovely and very friendly even though she'd just done a 13 hour shift! but as for the rest of the reception staff they were not at all friendly or welcoming. Wifi didn't connect to the Internet so I couldn't work from the hotel. Room Toiletries not replenished daily How this hotel has 3 stars is beyond me. It should be renamed The *Worst* Western

I'll keep it short and sweet, the worst bed I've ever lay on I've had better beds wild camping. The sheets were stained, there were rubbish bags stacked up in the corridors on arrival, the whole building had a foul stench cigarette smoke, the shower drain blocked within minutes of use bringing back filthy water to stand in. And the grab and go breakfast consisted of one stale piece of white bread, two presumably boiled eggs, a yoghurt, an apple and a packaged pan au chocolate. Avoid this place.

The Best Western Ilford is a lovely quiet hotel on Argyle road, tucked away from the bustle of the major roads and in a strategically close to bus stops with good bus networks. Also very close to the Ilford station, you only have to do a few minutes walk to the transport mode you prefer. This hotel provides complies with latest government guidelines as regards the COVID-19, and provides clean sheets and room service on alternate days. The beds are quite comfortable, and the TVs offer a wide range of local channels. The staff are always helpful and pleasant, and you have perks when you book your stay regularly (room upgrades, free breakfast etc). It is strategically located for a person like me because it's good bus routes mean that I mostly need just one bus to get me wherever I need to get to. This for me is one of the best things about its location. I would encourage all travelers and visitors to Ilford to book a stay with Best Western Ilford. Cheers.

I have to say the the value for money was good, I was on a cheap rate which included the internet and no breakfast. The first unpleasant surprise was having to fill out a form when I booked on line with all the necessary information. (third party booking website). I was then asked to pay a 50 pound deposit which the same website made no mention of. The room was alright, the carpet could have been cleaner. There was not hot water on the bathroom tap. The worst thing was the room next door with constant coming and going all night/ Obviously being in a bungalow across the street from reception, I guess anyone can come in and out for suspicious activities. I could not sleep the whole night. I wanted to report these issues when checking out but the receptionist was on the phone.

To begin, I am utterly disgusted and disappointed with the service and general cleanliness of this hotel. I get distracted working from home so I booked a room for some peace and quiet but I was in shock when I arrived at a tip of a hotel room. In one instance, there was only what can be seen to be blood stains on the bedsheets which is unheard of - they still charged me for the room !! In addition to this, the supposed cleaners were extremely rude, barging into the room without knocking and no apology and didn't do a great job as there was cigarettes butts and rizla papers by the window sill and in the bathroom still remaining. I gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt as we're in the middle of a pandemic, however these conditions are less than sanitary. Despite many attempts to contact the manager of the hotel about the return of my deposit, I have had no response or updates on this matter. These events have caused me stress and discomfort, I have tried to settle this quietly with the hotel but now I feel I must escalate this case as they are not taking my concerns seriously. As a result, I will be raising a complaint with the Consumer Ombudsman Services to escalate this case and finally come to a conclusion. I hope this gives a clear indication to avoid this hotel at all costs.

This hotel does not look very nice and is in truly horrible surroundings but if you need a decent room to sleep in a couple of nights , it is a good choice. The room was clean , the bathroom absolutely new and no dirt anywhere . that is what it comes down to. For the money paid , a good choice. The staff truly wanted to help with everything and were very polite. The biggest problem is paper walls, absolutely scary and terrible surroundings ( -1 star) , and very loud other guests in the middle of the night ....but what can you do.....

Booked this hotel through hotels. Com where it clearly states "free parking'. Arrived after a 3 hour drive through snowy, challenging conditions from the Midlands. No free parking at all. My reservation was then moved to the best western Ilford which had limited parking. I managed to get a space in 1 of 3 nights. The hotel was noisy with clients constantly up and down the noisy stairs until the early hours. From my room I could here every time at least 5 other rooms flushed their toilets. Because of you I will never ever use the best western brand again. You should rename yourselves. "The false advertising, no sleep hotel" Far more fitting. I will be following this up with best western themselves as you guys do not deserve to be associated with the brand. On one of the mornings, the parking in the area is so bad, I was actually blocked in, making me late for work. You should be ashamed.

Sniffing so loudly you can hear over headphones, telling a £50 security deposit isn't taken but actually is taken from your account and the staff change their story about refund timescales! Dirty, no coronavirus measures, no one wearing masks, tiny screen at reception but staff don't stand behind it and will try to stand next to you, carrier bags hanging out of windows, lack of parking, bed springs noisy and grinding. Pay a bit extra and go elsewhere. This hotel is disgraceful

Firstly I agree the price was very good. However this was the third occasion my boss booked this hotel. The first week in November I came home with several bites on my arm. These were extremely sore and itchy. Room 9. The second week same room more new bites and i found very odd bugs on the floor and in the bed. I reported this to staff but sadly not very interested. Second complaint was the fact of another guest constantly smoking cannabis in their room. Reported to staff who did absolutely nothing even though smoking in hotel rooms is illegal. They admitted there was a problem but could not do anything. So be warned yes it's cheap, fair sized rooms if your working and just want a bed. Wifi is poor to none, cleanliness is a little to be desired with stained bedding and one toilet roll for the week unless you ask. Forget coffee refills as they don't bother after first days stay.

We stayed for one Saturday night, only £29 so I wasn't sure what to expect but happily surprised. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, especially John on reception. The location is nice and quiet just off the main high street. The room was a small double but had everything you need in it from a flat screen tv to coffee/tea facilities and an en-suite. The bed was really comfortable and I loved the white bedding and white towels. I will definitely come again in fact we have already booked again as it is such a convenient location to London - just one hour from Knightsbridge and Ilford also has a lovely park and lots of shops.

So when I checked in the lady looked rushed off her feet and didn't stand when I approached the desk, (as I work in a hotel I know how important this is to make the guest feel welcome) she didn't really explain anything then asked for a £50 deposit which would be returned in 5 - 7 business days...... We got to the room and the bath had no plug and the duvet cover actually had damp on it, I then asked that the room not be cleaned when we leave as we had my xbox and lots of other expensive items in the room we returned and it had been cleaned!! When we checked out the lady didn't even look up from the desk!!! she stayed sat down looking at her computer and was like thanks no have a nice day no mention of how I would get my deposit back. I checked out on August 20th today on September 14th I now finally have my money back only because I have had to log it as fraud with my bank!! Please avoid this hotel at all costs just don't stay, the staff are rude and when you try to chase your money being returned they become very shady and are hard to get a hold of this was mine and my husbands 1 Year Wedding Anniversary getaway and I would never stay again. Stayed here many years ago and enjoyed the stay. Hotel is basic, clean but not one to be going around in evenings with family as the neighbourhood has gone downhill and will see people high on substances walking around or passed out on the street. Lots of people hangout at the front of the hotel in the evening which can disturb sleep depending on location of the room.

I stayed with my wife at best western Ilford. Children stayed at their cousins not far from the hotel on Friday night, 31/7/2020. We travelled a good distance, and initially the service from the young gentlemen was great. We arrived for breakfast at 9am as the slip on arrival stated breakfast till 10:30. A lady by the name of Andrea, at service reception said breakfast had finished at 9am!!!! I showed her the slip which I have a picture which clearly states 10:30. I asked Andrea that neither staff or any on booking does it state this. I got a shrug of the shoulders as to say, what do you want me to do? And felt she wasn't bothered or i had disturbed her. All i got was , its covid and things have changed. I'm sure they have, but without any information / communication....having that sprung on me first thing is something I wasn't expecting. I was pointed towards the the mini packs of cereal, again I took pictures to show the amount and quality. The justification I got was, the breakfast was 'complimentary'. This is poor customer service at the highest levels. However after looking at best western website, there was no mention of complimentary breakfast. It says breakfast included when booking, again I can evident this ! I asked for a manager's name, details, but i got a generic email address to which I will be using. When asked for the ladies name (andrea ) she wouldn't give it until I reminded her she has no name tag or identification and I needed this, which she reluctantly gave. Again, i have pictures to evident. I was advised the manager rarely comes to site so email her. Straight away I got the impression of non professionalism and a lax lazy laidback attitude. We all on this planet understand the dangers of covid and I trust and empathise with those people and families. However to use that for not being prepared is disgustiging. To calm down I went to make coffee as there was no brekkie,  however cutlery seems to be rare and not available. I proceeded to go to the kitchen area where many guests before me were entering to get the attention of the catering lady. Upon entering there was no people present and keys and paperwork were just lying around in the kitchen which is being doubled up as a store room. I have taken pictures to evident my experience. The health and safety was non existent and i will be posting pictures . I will not be eating so from this building after seeing what I have. I shall also be sharing my experiences to all local family and friends. I shall await a sensible reposne and i would highly recommend training for staff very soon. Ps, the bin bag at the bottom of the stairs is a health and safety hazard but I shouldn't be surprised after my experience but seems norm to the staff and some cups used were not even best western branded, but branded with another language altogether and I felt very uncomfortable when staff were speak their native language with each other not knowing if they were speaking about me or not as they were looking my way when communicating. Not the experience we were seeking or expected and we shouldn't feel like this when this is the fault of the business.

I stayed at the hotel on the 9th of May. Room was hot no ac the fan in the room was pointless the shower was rubbish . The bed on my side was bumper. But my partners side was ok. Did not sleep well. As for the room deposit of 50 pounds i still not received it yet. When we left i ask the blonde lady at reception when i be getting it back she said 5 days so i called back on the Friday and i was told wait till Wednesday so i phoned back on Wednesday the manager said he will email me today is the 23rd of May still nothing no email no money. So i phoned the costomer services at head office uk. It says they they are open 24 hours no one there my call got direct to American it was a bad line. He put me through to costomer services i left my number on voice mail again no one there to talk to. I will never stay there again. The only reason we stayed there cause travelog was closed. When I have stayed at travelodge the rooms are biggest there have ac nice beds and a power shower and value for money.

Very old fashioned, very noisy and hardly any water coming out of the shower. Also, the neighbourhood isn't too great, so police sirens woke me up at night, while people taking next door proceeded to keep me up. Also, travelling to the city of London takes quite a while. Do not recommend.

Booked to staff here for a flying visit to London with my son Arrived to be told I was not staying at this hotel and had been moved to the “Lucky 8” hotel down the road This hotel was tired looking and nothing to write home about however the issues began when I arrived home after a busy day in the city There was a constant noise ol coming from a large group of children staying at the hotel This continued until gone midnight I spoke to the night porter and complained but he was unable to address the issue I eventually tracked down the groups teachers and got back to my room about 30 minutes later We were awake at 7 as our room was opposite the breakfast room A very unsatisfactory stay, I was at another beat western hotel in Sowerby Bridge Yorkshire last week and that was not great I will not be staying at or booking any more rooms with this company

Bewildered by this I contacted my bank who confirmed the hotel hadn't tried to take any payment and there was no problem with my card. I emailed the hotel who failed to respond. My NYE was ruined and I still have had to response or apology from them . Possibly overbooked rooms and kicked out people who booked at a lower rate????? Beware

My wife and I were relocated to this hotel in September 2019 and were very delighted by the good standard of the room and the service from the staff, - especially from FELIX - night Receptionist. He sorted out all our travel issues and was indeed very profesional and keen to us. I was travelling with my father and we had a twin bed in small room. Not the fault of the staff as we did not inform about our want for separate beds. We asked if we are able to change our room and staff promised to see what they could do on next day as it was late and hotel was full. On very next day we received new room which was big and cosy. Of course we were impressed about this. But most importantly staff made me feel that they understand us and will take care of our concerns best way they could. This staff deserves good treatment as they are 10/10. Keep this up.

The room that we were given was a bit like a portacabin that had been put in the yard, it was freezing cold when we arrived, there was no heating in the bathroom. The fittings in the bathroom were also rusty and and the shower was unbelievably poor with hardly any water pressure. How this hotel gets 4 AA stars is beyond belief.

The room my daughter and I had was brilliant, it looked liked it had recently been refurbished. Very clean and spacious. It wasn't in the main hotel, but was only across the road. Parking was available at the alternative hotel.

Great hotel loved it. 2 minutes walk to underground into centre of London in 20mins by tube. Big room and clean. Great breakfast. Only downfalls are very limited parking with only 11 parking spaces and the WiFi is awful keeps dropping out. However all fine would stay again. Only other thing I would say is if your planning on going to Chessington World Of Adventures, Thorpe Park or Legoland (all themeparks) then I would not recommended this hotel as its around a hour and 15mins drive but for central London areas great no issues what so ever.

The receptionists were welcomming and the room was excellent. The exterior of the hotel looked very nice. The room was clean and comfy. The bathroom was big enough for a person. The location was is a perfect spot as there were bus stops, train stations and a mall near by. Highly recommend it.

I booked this hotel for a stay next year, on the basis of paying at the property upon arrival. I provided card details as they said they needed them in case if a no show. The full amount has been debited from my bank account leaving me with serious logistical issues. Having spoken to them today, they have assured me they have refunded the money but it will take 7-10 business days. Now considering the fact that instant payments are a fact of life nowadays, I'd call a maximum of 10 working days entirely unacceptable. Obviously have cancelled my stay and will take my business elsewhere. Be warned if you're booking on a 'pay at the property' basis!

Very poor and unprofessional hotel. I stayed here for a few days (business trip). Service: I had forgotten my coat and asked if they would send it to the Netherlands (for a fee of course). They indicated that I had to arrange this myself. After insisting, they agreed and said they'd arrange this. I ended up paying £ 60. The final costs turned out to be £ 15. After indicating this, they stopped responding. They put the remaining 45 pounds in their pockets. Facilities: no hot water in the morning. There is a heating element in the shower itself. One day there was no water at all, so I could not shower. Toilet kept going and couldn't flush. Every morning I asked them to fix it. Same problem every day. Room: 7 m2 in size. As big as my toilet at home. As a hotel, I would be deeply ashamed.

I have to say, as hotel, the facilities are good and clean, the location, Ilford, is nice and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Our room was very nice, just watch the shower zone, is very slippery. The breakfast was really nice too. The thing is, there are two different buildings. If my key doesn't work, I have to cross the street (really f... tired) and request to fix my key. It happened in two occassions. That was really annoying. The second night, the fire alarm was activated at 3am ¡What a mess! I was sleeping deeply. After a few attempts (and really scared), I finally reached the reception: they didn't know a thing!, "but all was ok, ok" What the heck? I ordered room service, but the receptionist didn't know a thing about it! I had to tell him that there's a room service menu in my room... God Christ! Al last, I could order my dinner, but there wasn't the beverages... another 30 minutes to bring the cokes... annoying things!!! The only thing because I didn't shout or complained was the good attitude of the staff, very kind, but, if the MANAGER is reading this: Mr. Manager, you have a nice hotel, but you have to TRAIN your staff, this is HOTEL SERVICE sir, you don't have to annoy your guests!!! By the way, Mr, Manager, I think your receptionists sleep very well at night: The night of my check out, I have to shout desperately, there was nobody at the reception at 3am. Our taxi was waiting (it cost me more because of this) and after minutes, the guy (very kind) came out to check me out, I have to say, I told him before we need check out at 3am... but, Mr, Manager, it's work, hotel service, don't fool me!! In addition to this, we have troubles with the exchange of the room service (I had to tell the staff many times to get my change) and again, that was annoying. If we think close, this things are easy to solve, but I think the staff is not well trained, and the hotel service is not focused to the guest. And the fire alarm was the worst thing you could experience in the middle of the night. And, to finalize, the 50-pound deposit is a joke, there is no mention of it anywhere (Not in Agoda nor the hotel), and we are still waiting for the refund. Little things that could be better. Little things make difference, Mr, Manager of BW Ilford Hotel, and I think you know it.

I have stayed at the Best Western Ilford on numerous occasions, the cost of this particular stay was reduced following an unacceptable delay in monies being refunded. I arrived on Friday: & when I tried to shower, the water was only either scalding hot or freezing cold. I told the Night Manager, who, after attempting to rectify the problem, promised to report this 'to Maintenance'. Clearly, nothing was done about this on Saturday, & I told the same Night Manager Saturday evening. When I tried to shower Sunday morning, the water was freezing cold. I told the Receptionist, who told me she had no authority to rectify the problem/compensate me!!

First, the people that work here helped us out travel arrangements, food recommendations, sightseeing, etc. However, the hotel, which is in 3 different buildings I think, lacked some basic amenities. We were there in July 2019 and the heat was brutal and the hotel has no AC. We had to keep going to the shower to cool off and then try to get back to sleep. The wi-fi did not reach our rooms and we counted on it for contacting people and confirming travel arrangements as we were on a multi-city trip. We had to stand out in the street to properly connect to the wifi. If Wifi doesn't matter or if you are not traveling in the summer and want to save, it wasn't bad for a budget hotel. Also, it is very close to a rail line so traveling to the center or London was very easy and inexpensive from there.

I stay in Best Western hotels all over the country for work at least once a week. I arrived at this one after a hot and long journey ready for a meal and a rest. I was given room 6 which turned out to be a broom cupboard with just enough room for a single bed! I had booked a standard double. I was moved to a slightly bigger room which was like a sauna. One small window with limited opening so no air circulation. No food was available in the hotel so I had to go out to find something. Loads of Middle Eastern restaurants, burger bars and fried chicken shops in the area. I did not feel safe walking around. The hotel was so noisy all night with shouting and people running about slamming doors. A group of people sitting outside my window were talking and laughing until late. I got no sleep to speak of and now I have to work all day and then drive 2/3 hours home. This hotel is on my “avoid like the plague list” and I recommend it's on yours too!

When I was checking in the woman Sara on the desk was so unhelpful and rude, she made me fill like an illegal immigrant in my own country. When I had booked with booking.com I had stated that I would pay cash at the front desk, I had only arrived and I was having problems parking, even though I requested in advance, as I was disabled that I couldn't walk far, Sarah was completely useless in my opinion, and told me that i could park on the street opposite and move my car by 8am, over and over I told her I couldn't walk in the mornings, but she didn't care in the slightest, lucky Dennis stepped in and took my keys to park my car when a space came available. She couldn't understand a word I was saying, her English in my opinion was very poor! and kept telling me she couldn't accept my cash even though it was British sterling (it stated nowhere on booking.com that Irish sterling notes could not be accepted?!! Very strange in my opinion as everywhere else I went they were accepted no problem!! The Queen's head being on all the notes!! It's actually laughable as Northern Ireland is part of the UK!!). There was a gentleman at the front desk who said "he worked at a bank and it was illegal for her not to accept my money as it's legal tender". She made me stand at reception for nearly 30 minutes after I'd driven for 9 hours, she could even see I was struggling to stand as I've two hip replacements and a knee replacement, She told me I had to come back first thing in the morning with British notes and I explained that mornings weren't good for me as I'm sore and that could I come later in the day. She kept saying "there's a bank round the corner", I explained I'd plans with my son for his 13th birthday the next day but she kept on and on like I was going to run away, I asked her would she please let me speak to the manager, but she refused and gave me an email address to complain!!. Eventually she agreed and made out she was doing me a favour, so so patronising!!! I would never stay here again!! I had even given the lovely guy on reception Dennis the keys to my car (which is worth a lot of money! as he was parking it for me when a space was to become available, so I could hardly run away. Eventually she agreed and kept saying "mam I'm trying to help you here?? Very patronising again!! Even my 13 year old son who studies business knows it's illegal not to accept sterling?? She even said at one point we accept Scottish notes?? That sounds a lot like discrimination to me!! I would never stay here again!!! I counted 10 parking spaces also, and 5 had permits on them and were vans, so I'm guessing they rent the spaces out to locals to make money and guests come in second place (just a guess mind, but I seen the same men each day, and one of them going into the house across the road!!). If you want to be treated like a second class citizen, not to be understood and feel discriminated against definitely stay here, but if not I would say pay a little more to be treated better. This was a birthday trip for my son that started the worst way possible!!! I've stayed in many Best Westerns before, yet I've never been treated so rudely. I ended up going to bed in tears as I wanted this trip to be special, as my son had been through a lot. It just set the tone for the whole trip!!. There was also silly things like the remote control didn't work, I asked the guy on the desk and he said "I'll send you one down" never happened, the rooms are also very stuff and the window wouldn't stay open, I had to put a plastic bottle in it to jam it open, the bathroom door is so small it hits the bed and won't open fully. Stupid things like I said, but we had a TV that we couldn't get working, room was boiling and wasn't the cleanest either. Pay more and go somewhere else is my honest opinion!!!

Maybe you would have enjoyed the stay at the hotel room if you would have come from a place which keeps snowing throughout the day because these rooms were quite hot inside. And guess what? there are no air conditions installed inside the rooms. Hardly any ventilation for the air to circulate. After you have taken a shower, you will literally sweat until you get ready and go to the breakfast area. It is too suffocating. Regarding the room size, i know I was not prepared or I was not aware of the dimensions when i made the booking. I had 1 big and 1 medium size suitcases with me and once you place them on the floor, you will not have any place to move around and all you could do is just sit on the bed. Breakfast options were decent enough and the food was getting replenished more often. This hotel is quite close to the ilford metro station and that is the only advantage i could see.

I would have rated it 3 if I had got some sleep.Stopped in a family room, the rooms are very small. The double bed was against the wall and the single bed was down in a tight space. The room was clean but lacked space and was extremely hot and noisy due to noise coming from adjoining rooms and above. The staff are friendly but they are limited to what they are working with here. It was the worst best western chain hotel I have stopped in. The other plus was the location really close to station for easy access to Stratford for the Olympic stadium. The included breakfast was passable and ok at the price bracket of this hotel.

I stayed here for 2 nights and was comfortable Reception staff were helpful and I got a great deal for a family room for 3 people. The breakfast was nice (no bacon for some reason) and the bathroom flooded because of the gradient of the floor when taking a shower. Apart from these I would stay again as it was about right for the amount I paid.

We travelled down as a family ( two daughters age 8 & 11) to watch Hugh Jackman show at O2 and chose to stay here. On arrival staff were pleasant and let us have the keys for our room early which was situated in the site across the road. We was pleasantly surprised at how spacious our family room was, two double beds along with a sofa and a little kitchen area as we walked in (although basic as just cupboards sink and fridge) for a budget hotel we was happy. Unpacked got ready and went to the show, we didn't get back till late so all went to sleep quite quickly. In the morning we got up to go for the breakfast offered and there was a cleaner in the corridor, we came back half an hour later and straight away noticed the £10 note and change on the side had gone. The room hadn't been cleaned as we was leaving that morning so my husband decided to go speak to reception as they had cctv cameras outside our door. At this point my children were getting worried someone had been in our room/was still in our room that I had to go open the wardrobe and check everywhere to calm them down. On his return he said the management was going to look through cctv and come back to us. Within 5 minutes one of the management or other staff member knocked on our door with the cleaner, the cleaner put down the £10 note and said sorry then went whilst the other lady apologised and advised she was new and doesn't speak English however she would be dealt with then left. Our assumption was she would be fired as she must have clearly waited for us to leave the front door then opened our room to look for something. As at the end of the day she had no reason to go in and clean as we was already leaving that morning. We then went to hand back keys and a few staff members were at the reception all who apologised for what had happened, we said how we only received the £10 note back and that there was about £8 coins still missing. They did offer to get her back in but due to what had happened already we was running late and the kids felt uncomfortable we just wanted to get them away. It was then one of them said she will receive a disciplinary for this.... So anyone choosing to stay at this hotel be cautious that they may still have this thieving cleaner and if you see a short dark haired cleaner (I think she was polish maybe Romanian from accent) then make sure nothing valuable is left in your room. Thank you Best Western for making my children's first hotel stay experience that they never want to stay in a hotel again as don't feel safe! I will be reporting this experience to Best Western CEO Rob Patterson.

Going to details: breakfast was tasty, but during 3 days always the same, wi-fi inside the room located in small houses was very poor quality and speed, if you plan to locate guest in small houses on the back of main building, you should inform in advance. Generally my opinion is good and I am rather satisfy for my stay at BW Ilford.

We were supposed to stay in Park Hotel but due to a problem with our room they relocated us to the Best Western. Transition was easy though. I had booked well in advance and got a great deal at 100 pounds for three nights including breakfast. Normally a standard double room is 89 pounds a night. I am reviewing this as if it was full price. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very small as was the bathroom. It had tea, coffee and a kettle. Unfortunely it was difficult to fill kettle. The tv had subtitles permantly on. The room was slightly dirty and the shower had a massive crack in it and the shower doors did not shut properly. The shower pressure was terrible and the boiler system was in the wrong place. The breakfast was actually quite bad.Options were limited. Sausage, bacon, hash browns, overcooked fried egg, hard poavhed eggs, scrambled egg from powder, mushrooms boiled from a tin. Cheap white or brown bread. The coffee was strong and tea weak. Orange juice was very watery.The staff were all eastern european and one off them didnt even speak english. On a whole if paying full price it didnt reflect the standard. The plus points however was free parking, excellent free wifi and only 5 minute walk to Ilford train station. I will not be using this hotel again on my next visit. Would rather pay a little more for closer to centre of London with a good breakfast and shower.

Have stayed here quite a lot recently due to work commitments and I have to say this hotel is in a great location just a few minutes walk from the main rail station and the staff are very friendly and helpful . Some of the rooms are really spacious and comfortable some of them are quite small and the walls rather thin. It all depends on the luck of the draw. Breakfast was not very imaginative, I preferred to go to the Tesco express round the corner. In short would happily stay here again (as I said before) there are far far worse places in the London area than this

Room was tiny, shower was almost impossible to use, sink in bathroom too small and the shelf directly above it made it even worse. Room smelled of drugs. Key cars hardly ever worked. I will suggest to stay at this hotel because it is friendly, clean and the service is absolutely satisfying. As to the cleaniness of the rooms I was surprised to find an absolute clean room and bathroom. No Mold, no dirt under the beds, clean sheets. Thumbs up! Also the Beds are perfect not worn down. It is quiet, there is no noise on the street in front of the hotel. We had time to relax in our room between meetings. It was absolutely what we expected and maybe evene a bit more as the room was xtra large and had a spare bed for our daughter!

Hello I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights recently in the end of March . It was very clean . Good location nearby to tube station ilford , shops 2min walk to ilford town centre ,Breakfast was good buffet so help yourself, and finally staff at the hotel very attentive at breakfast and reception too helpful , friendly, polite made you feel comfortable. Very good value for money. I have stayed at many hotels in east London also in private houses where there was just a room and bathroom facilities,breakfast . But this is a proper hotel . The next time I'm in London I will be staying in this hotel hopefully.

Nice hotel by way of clean, tidy but there is no bar and it's certainly a B&B only. The biggest issue by far is noise, the room walls are wafer thin, you hear the other guest coughing, showering, walking around. I was woken by a noisy laughing group at 3am in the corridor too which is narrow, it's all cramped. Cheap stay but it's fine for a quick stop over.

Can't find any positive side about this place. Let's start with old crappy furnished rooms, broken floor tile in the bathroom (sharp as a knife), super uncomfortable old mattress (my back is still painful), bad smell in the rooms, in-room tea cups and spoons not washed daily by the janitor, low water pressure. But the thing shocked us more is this: when we came back to the room, we found one of the complimentary shampoos they give, completely dirty, the dirt looked like human body fluids and it was one of the most disgusting experiences in our whole life. The reception guy, after complain, saud just "we are sorry". That's it. No other way was tried to make us happy. As i said in the beginning of this long review, this is the WORST hotel i and my wife ever stayed. So, Tripadvisor users, stay miles far from this place! Choose something else, maybe for few dollars more but something can be called "Hotel". P.s. probably an answer to this review will come, but at this point it can't change anything as our trip is already over.

We arrived at the hotel to be informed that they had resold our room as we had arrived a day late. We were late due to our customer rescheduling our appointment... Apparently this is company policy and is quite frankly disgusting. A room was sought at the premises 500 yards across the yard (there are 3 best Westerns within a 500 yard radius of each other) after some deliberation. Once we had traversed the walk with our bags in tow and got up to our room, we noticed the bathroom door handle was falling off, held with one solitary screw. The shower was very good, just a shame I had to hold it over my head as the bracket had broken. The rooms are kept at a cosy 1000 degrees, despite the radiator being off and both windows open. The room comes with complimentary tea and coffee, 9.sachets to be precise, yet only 3 small cartons of milk... I asked the receptionist for more milk and was told that they don't hold them at this branch and that I'd need to go over to the other best Western branch over the road... Comical to be honest. We were called out to a job part way through our stay. The hotel staff then quizzed our colleagues (who were also staying there) as to our whereabouts and why we hadn't been to our room. We called them to query why our privacy was being breached and of what concern it was of theirs, no answer on that one. Possibly an attempt to re-sell the room, again. The breakfast is very good. Parking is tight, but this is no fault of the hotel. There are spaces for roughly 10 vehicles. You can park on the single yellows around the hotels, parking is forbidden from 08:30 - 18:00 however. Overall, by far and away the worst hotel I've stayed at. Avoid at all cost, which is very expensive come to mention it

Great little boutique hotel. I decided to stay here because i needed to be in EastLondon for business. And this was convenient because it was VERY CHEAP & close to my work. For £65 i didn't expect much but this little hotel surprised me. The beds were comfortable, the room was quite. The staff at the reception were very helpful. I needed some tech help and the were very helpful. My experience at breakfast in the morning however, was absolutely great. The staff there were helpful without being intrusive. The breakfast seemed hot and fresh with a choice of cold breakfast. Overall for £65 my experience was great. I would like to commend the management

On arrival to the hotel they showed us to our suite which was actually through a back alley & in a travel trailer behind the hotel The hotel was filthy black mold, dirty bedding people running around the “suite” (travel trailer behind the hotel) curtains have burns in them & falling down We got no sleep

Although I had booked this hotel as a flexible arrangement, as soon as I confirmed the booking I was charged the room rate. This was not advertised on the booking site - I was told that it was to check that my card was valid. Then on arrival I had to pay an additional fee in the event of accidental damage, which was refunded several days after I left. Again, this fee was not advertised on the booking site. My room was clean, warm and tidy, but it was noisy with people walking up and down the corridors during the early hours. This, combined with the unexpected charges, means that I would not stay here again unless absolutely necessary.

This is cheap for a reason. On arrival I checked in an went to my room. There I found a dirty pair of knickers and two filthy towels. I changed rooms and the second rooms appeared clean but it was great I my opinion, very dusty and only clean in easily accessible places. There is parking but very few spaces, the hotel doesn't do hot food in the evening so if you want to eat you need to go out. Cleanliness is poor and you can hear people, tv's, toilets and moving a lot from adjoining rooms. Yes it is cheap, but it is for a reason. I never stopped my second night.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 days. The hotel is great value for money in comparison to other parts of London . Granted it is not the prettiest area of London but the train links are great . Station on the same street . Clean and cosy. Staff friendly. Breakfast nice ok . Would recommend .

On first arrival all seemed well, however the area surrounding the hotel is not very nice, the hotel receptionist seemed abrupt and we had to ask for more tea and coffee as the was very little for two people in a small double room. Room itself was nice and clean, although some lights were broken and the faucet was very loose. View outside was just residential homes.

First time Stayed in December over Xmas great central point for access to Ilford Centre and Trains to London. Breakfast was included and it was a good price we stayed for. Breakfast was well cooked, well stocked up and not greasy!! Very filling Pros 1) you can park on the premises 2) cosy rooms ( smallish but adequate good heating and cosy homely rooms good decor 3) linen/ towels rooms cleaned daily 4) Breakfast well cooked 5) central to all bus / train access 6) If No parking available you can park nearby on yellow lines after certain times 7) Staff pleasant / Friendly Cons 1) you can hear movement in other rooms ( next door snores very Loud ! ) very minor concern but normally guests are quiet just be aware of this 2 ) Power Shower very hot and not so powerful my bath shower at home had more power ( and it's not a power shower!! ) temperature dial on shower temperamental finding right heat balance tricky just be aware as water will get hot so test before enter These concerns are very minor overall our stay was excellent and would recommend to everyone we will come again

It was our fourth stay at the Best Western Hotel and I must say that is a good value for your money. The breakfast you get is enough to start the day, the staff is friendly and helpfully. Whenever you´ll make a trip to London, it´s so easy to start from Ilford Station or Gants Hill with public Transport.

Arrived to a very warm welcome. Got an early check in and we were only 5 mins from the Tube Station. The room was rather small and the mattress was a spring one which was ready to be replaced! Breakfast was buffet style and had everything anyone would want. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. Free car parking too.

Spotless place with the likes of a five star hotel. A couple of minutes from the Ilford train station, gateway to all directions. It is situated in a very quiet area with a lot within reach. The treasure and i would think the reason for success of this hotel, are the staff. Stephen from the reception always readily at hand to help, planning excursions, giving directions on getting to destinations, at 24 hours on. A brilliant place that gives you a homely feeling because of its staff and its 30 min distance from the center of London. I will for sure stay here on my next London visits.

From the moment we entered reception and were greeted with gorgeous smile and professional customer service skills by Stephan, we felt welcome and knew we had made the right choice. Stephan was of the highest calibre, nothing was too much trouble for him and he would go that extra yard to ensure that our needs were met. All this was done with a genuine smile on their faces.The room had everything we needed,the bed was very comfy and both the bath and shower were smashing. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of hot and cold food on offer. The waitresses were on top of their job so that the buffet was constantly replenished and vacated tables were cleaned and reset immediately.

I would rate this hotel 2 star at best. It's very dated and basic. Our room in the basement had a strong, unpleasant smell. There was no hairdryer, no heater in the bathroom rusted bathroom fixtures and the key fob mostly didn't work meaning a walk over to reception to have it activated or asking a cleaner to open our room. The duvets were too thin for the winter. However it's clean, cheap and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also look out for the slight step outside the annexe entrance... we had a few "near-trips"

We booked this on the strength of the Best Western brand but now we will never trust or use Best Western again - it's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in - it says 4 star hotel outside but I think they really mean 4 star guest accommodation - the room was so small - cramped bed - every noise of a drawer - tap, toilet being flushed of people in the small courtyard or outside woke you up constantly - it's an old group of houses and some across the road which have been converted in to accommodation - awful I absolutely totally feel sorry for the staff having to grin and bear that

Checking in was a nightmare, Svetlana the receptionist was disgustingly rude to me throughout the entire process, even rolled her eyes and got aggressive when I said I didn't want breakfast, this whole thing was bizarre and made me super uncomfortable. Room was beyond basic, double bed not a full size and absolutely rock hard. Very tired hotel but staff ruined it for me.

We did have a problem with the wifi but as we were literally just in and out for our meeting that wasn't important and I am sure staff would resolve issues speedily.

I had to book a kind of hotel/ bed&breakfast as i had to attend hospital appt in Great Ormond Hospital. That was so called room with multiple beds, ground floor, wet room... what a stink... I was worried I would not wash it from body and clothes. I cannot say about other rooms but ... if you are desperate, then go for it. Otherwise avoid.

We had booked a budget hotel a street away but we arrived there to be told that there was a problem with the room and we were transferred to this hotel. Before checking in I read the Tripadvisor reviews and they were bad so I asked to see the room first. It was a triple room in the annexe and was clean and adequate in size. Breakfast was in the main hotel across the road but it was a good breakfast considering what we were paying. Following my usual principle I have given this hotel full marks because I found no fault with it.

Could not swing a cat in the room, no safe although the staff will tell you all rooms have one, they certainly could not find ours. Had to leave suitcases in car, stayed for 1 week, 1 week too long. Breakfast was ok, parking a joke - park there if it is free attitude, cannot park there!!!

Booked this hotel based on location to London and ease of getting to the city as well as price. Traveled here with my 17 year old daughter and stayed for 3 nights the week of July 5th. The room overall was fine, though very tiny but all we were looking for was somewhere to sleep. Unfortunately we did not sleep. The room was incredibly hot, stifling even. I asked for a fan and they gave me a small one for the room but all it did was move around the hot air. There was no A/C and the window opened about 2 inches so we couldn't even get reprieve at night. We sat with our room door open to the hallway for as long as possible to let the air in because it was about 10 degrees cooler even in the hallway. Based solely on this experience I immediately changed all my reservations for the rest of our trip to hotels with A/C. When you travel during the month of July I would recommend rooms with A/C and unfortunately this hotel just didn't cut it for us. Worst three nights of our holiday after spending the days in the heat sightseeing. The bathroom was also so tiny that you could barely brush your teeth over the sink. They could use some upgrades for sure!

My partner and I booked this hotel as the previous reviews looked ok with a good location close to the train station which was great. However, the hotel itself was awful. Rooms are tiny and airless. The pictures they present are completely unreliable and decieving. The room which was loctaed for us seemed ok, but on the first night we realised our room connected to the firedoor which banged all night long and the walls are hollow, you can hear everything going on outside. The shower also didnt work. The manager came in to check and confirmed it was pouring cold water, for us to then be told it was a two hour wait for us to get a new room. We were really disappointed as we wasted half a day trying to sort out our hotel room. The breakfast is not great. Overall bad experience and will not be returning.

I cancelled a previous booking on booking.com elsewhere because I liked the look of this place better and the reviews seemed good. I shouldn't have bothered. This place was average at best. We had to park in the street as the few “free parking” spaces were filled. Fortunately we checked in late and left really early, so didn't incur any penalties. The room was okay, once modern but now looking tired and it was tiny and airless. The fan was broken so I had to go and ask for another - there was no way I could have stayed in the stifling room otherwise. The bed was hard, and I had the most uncomfortable night with hardly any sleep. On a good note, the room was quiet and breakfast was as you'd expect. I expected a relatively high standard of “best western formula” and was disappointed. I can't say that I'll be returning here.

We booked this hotel due to its 10 minute walking distance from the Ilford train station. Bus stops are also nearby which were convenient for our needs for 6 nights. We arrived at 2200hrs check in was quick. The room is small just adequate for 2 people. Shower is small with good hot water. The hotel is close to the exchange and lots of eating places. Sainsbury is within walking distance. Good plentiful English and continental breakfast. Pleasant staff.

Place is a bit too tired feeling to be classified as 4 star rating. Bedding was torn...Corridors smelly...many little flights of stairs. Hotel seperated in 2 different buildings across the road from each other. We had triple room which was fine. Bathroom ok too. Staff make this hotel. They are super helpful, friendly and polite and clearly take pride in their jobs. Breakfast was difficult if you are vegi. Same spoons used for serving bacon and eggs and hashbrowns. Juice and water were warm. You can buy bottled water but again it was warm. Eating places very close to hotel with a range of options. Some still open after 12am.

Easy to find. Very close to the train station. 10 minutes walk to KFC. corridors a little narrow and winding, especially with a suitcase. Room was very small, booked for one person, but with a double bed, I'd assume 2 could check in, in which case, it is a little cramped. Bathroom was bright and nice. TV was on the same wall as the side of bed due to space issue, so was not ideal to watch in bed. It wasn't bad, there are better hotels, but if all you want is a bed and shower, it's not badly priced, and is close to the trains and high street.

The room was clean and the WiFi was fast. Breakfast was so-so. However, if you find the hotel car park is full do not park on the road as I end up with two penalty notices (once in the evening and again in the morning). Complaining to the hotel on the phone (I only were aware of the notices once I arrived home) got me static and told I should of asked where else I could park. The girl on reception listened to my greivences with a bored 'I have heard this dozens of times' tone to her voice. That has made what was supposed to be a cheap stay in Ilford for a business meeting and expensive proposition costing me over £300. Better off going to Premier Inn, etc. where parking is guaranteed.

A very pleasant stay in London. A very nice hotel team, to which we give many thanks. The front desk member as Stephan was committed to making our stay a pleasant one. Stephan was very polite and well mannered gentleman with top class customer service skills. Lovely room nice and clean. Hotel was well presented in a good location to the town station and pubs. Just a few minutes walk from all the above. Argyle road was nice and quiet with no noise for sleeping. Great stay and we will definitely go again. Excellent value for money.

Very clean and tidy hotel. Large rooms. Excellent friendly service. Hotel is 5 minutes walk away from the station. Liverpool Street station and the heart of London is only a 10 minute train journey away. Close to the centre of Ilford with shops, restaurants and pubs along the high street. £5 for a cooked breakfast: good value for money. Hotel is in two parts which caused us no inconvenience. Lots of parking at both sites and hotel has another 4 parking spaces 2 minutes away. A great and inexpensive place to stay.

We stayed for a night. I could not get parking when I arrived around 1930 hrs. But when I went out and came back around midnight, there was a spot. I believe they can give vouchers to a car park in the street next to the hotel. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was small but comfortable. Good shower. The breakfast was good for what is a budget hotel rate. Looks like this is a franchise and owned indepedently. The owner is doing a good job. Hope they continue this way.

I booked in a double room and asked for a travel cot. The hotel quite generously upgraded us to a executive suite which was very spacious. We were very happy with our stay, room was nice and warm, my 6month old baby was quite comfortable. Breakfast was excellent as it had halal options. Staff were very welcoming. I paid for a room 6 weeks in advance for A couple of nights for my son. When he turned up last night he was not allowed in because he was not the card holder. despite calling on route to confirm his booking and making sure they were aware that I was not with him. He was forced to sleep in his car after a gruelling 4 hour drive down and a meeting with his specialist. He called the police who were outraged and confirmed this is not the first time that somebody had been refused entry due to not having the card. The staff on reception were very rude and obnoxious and refused a refund. He then got an email saying that he had not turned up which was a lie to cover their own backs. He has pancreatic and liver cancer with an estimated 6 to 9 months would you wish this on your relative

Stayed here last week in Room 62 with my room mate while working in Ilford. My room mate paid a deposit on the room of £20 against damages etc with his credit card. Today he receives notification theyretheyve charged £120 to his card for damage in room 40. Telephoned Best Western who say they didn't take a card swipe from room 40 so we have to pay it and claim it back from room 40. We have no idea who is in room 40 and obviously the hotel cannot provide this information under data protection act. They refuse to entertain this further leaving me no choice but to claim my money back via the courts. AVOID!!!! Scam!

There are very good best Westerns and there are OK ones. This is probably the latter. A few minutes walk from rail station the hotel is situated in a residential street, the main hotel on one side, an unstaffed annex on the other. Rooms are quite spacious, there's desk space to work and the bathrooms are a good size. But everything feels a little old and dated - the single beds are quite small. Staff polite, breakfast very good. Would stay here again. To sum up it's fine.

Booked for three days, stayed two, parking a nightmare having had to get up and move the car before 08:00am and the arrival of the traffic warden. If you need parking, not the place to stay - 10 spaces at the main hotel and 4 spaces at the annex. Stayed in room four. Couldn't knock the breakfast as there was plenty of choice ( bacon was not as it seems ) but the rest was hot and tasty. Staff was helpful and accommodating, but parking was a nightmare. Hot water in abundance and plenty of power in the shower. Tea making provided in the room. Warm and quiet enough. If the parking had been available, then would have stayed a third night- but single yellow lines right up the road and yes- the traffic warden will get you , free parking on the main road at certain spots where there isn't a drop kerb ( but they are few and far between ) , no car then no problem, but by the second morning was annoyed at the extremely limited parking and wouldn't choose to stay here again...

The Hotel is not in central London, but a good hour away. We stayed for a week as it was close to Family, The hotel itself is very clean and quiet, off main road. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good. The rooms - as with most European hotels, are SMALL. And I do mean small. This wasn't an issue for us as most of our time was spent outside of the room with Family. The area is mostly immigrants, great food, good pubs, shops. I'd recommend this hotel if you need to be in that area.

Stayed here August bank Holiday for an amazing Price - Twin room. Due to one of the rooms being a little bit too hot for me ( as I was going out ) I asked to be moved, No problem for the reception staff as she gave us another room across the road in the annex. This room was great, HUGE Bathroom, towels, little extras and comfy beds. Super job! Sadly didn't manage to get to breakfast.. but I would recommend giving this hotel a try :)

Stayed for two nights to watch the World Athletics. This is a very basic hotel and you would only want to use it as a base. There is very limited parking at the hotel, however we were given a permit for a car park a street away so that was fine. The staff would certainly never win a customer service award, some were fine but others were abrupt and couldn't even summon a smile. Breakfast was ok but the dining room was small and the staff did not appear to have a system of dealing with the problem and some guests just hovered over diners waiting for them to finish! The room was tiny and like an oven, However the hotel was within a couple of minutes of the train to Queen Elizabeth Stadium and that journey only took about 10 minutes which is why we booked it.

Parking is a nightmare, the receptionist told me to park next door when it should have been across the road!! We had our bags in when she decided to tell us our room was in another building across the road !! The room across the road had external access so was a nightmare getting big family bags up and down stairs in the lashing rain! Felt like we were going into a dungeon! The room itself was very warm and comfortable. Can't fault the room! Two small half rolls of toilet paper in the loo !! You'd see happier prisoners of war than the staff working durning breakfast! Don't stay here if you have kids or a car!!

Bedroom was nice and breakfast. The only issue I had were the staff members. Other best westerns staffs are very polite and such a delight. The manager and staff need training. Very very stingy and greedy ! We wanted a refund for one of the rooms we didn't use as there was a lot of us traveling they gave us an extra room for 120£ which I paid for but asked for a refund as we didn't need the room and the staff member talked us into getting it saying we are one room short. When I asked for a refund the woman just passed me there business card and said speak to the manager. When I asked when he or she will be in the receptionist ignored me and started speaking with another staff member who joined in and said to us guests that we shouldn't have taken it in the first place. Staff and manager do need to be changed.

I have slept in this hotel in 2 separate occasions over a 3 week period. I met this front Desk lady named Daiga who was exceptional and worthy of mention. She's actually the reason why I came back to stay on my return trip to the UK. She went out of her way to help me with my luggage which was almost 70lbs to my room which is across the street from the reception and was very helpful in all I requested. Room was ok but i decided to come back because of Daiga's services. And I promised I will return in about 3 weeks to stay there again. I'm in the process of making reservations again for my trip in August. Well Done Daiga. Keep up the great job and see you again soon.

Booked through hotels.com which stated included breakfast, however on checking in was informed this was an extra £5. The room was clean although absolutely tiny, fine for just somewhere to sleep but I would not want to stay longer. It was very close to restaurants, Costa Coffee etc and also to a train station. Staff were friendly enough.

I had booked a room through agoda for this hotel a week and a half in advance. The payment had been made and confirmation sent back for the booking. However, when we turned up after a nice evening in London, the receptionists told us we needed to pay four times the amount we already had. Although, I rightly told them that this was a breach of the contractual agreement we had made in confirming the booking of the room, they refused to grant us entry to the room without more money. They were rude, obnoxious, completely unhelpful and without any logic or rational reasoning between the two poor unfortunate idiots. After calls with agoda lasting hours and in the end being told it was between the hotel and them, they would settle the difference they also hung up. The hotel said we could stay in a DISGUSTING crack den of a sister hotel with a single bed between us and had to walk 20 minutes at 2a.m. Without a doubt the worst experience I have had at any hotel the world over. DO NOT TRY TO STAY HERE!!! AS YOU WON"T BE ABLE FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY AND BOOK FOR!

Ilford, best western was a very adequate please to stay in London ,we came for a concert at the London stadium and were perfectly placed. But beware of check in policy, we had to have on us the original payment card and photo IID on us , wasn't aware pre arrival. We had had an email sent to us on morning of arrival , to late ! Already on route. Have stayed at best western hotels before and not had this before. We had to pay for room again and have to wait for refund. Every thing else about our stay was fine.

Stayed here overnight with a group of friends. Service at reception was appalling. No help whatsoever. Rude and blunt. Rooms were just about acceptable. The beds were ok with clean sheets on. The fridge was unusable and had a very unpleasant smell once opened. The whole area and hall way smelt of boiled eggs. Very nasty. Breakfast was ok. Nothing amazing. Wouldn't return to this hotel. Mainly down to the fact that the service was so poor.

Booked into Best Western, Ilford, for 2 nights. Bedroom & bathroom appeared clean & met our requirements. The following day, while out in Stratford, my friend & I realised we had several 'bite' marks. As we didn't return to our room until the early hours, we reported our bites to reception at breakfast. We were told It had then been reported to housekeeping who "found everything ok" in our room when they had made the beds. We were then told "you should have reported it yesterday" to get a room change. We were out at a concert & not able to phone out. They then offered a discount off our next stay. No thanks. Beware of Room 56... it bites!

I booked the venue for a tea party for 60 people. This is the third time my family have booked this venue this year for a tea party and have not had any problems prior but I was informed they are under new management. Generally speaking the tea party is a great deal for a get together, it's a nice venue and good for people to catch up and talk. Unfortunately my most recent experience had a host of issues which I can only put down to new management. I will mention a few. 1. Extra charge: I booked the venue for 60 adults but had some under 5's (which are free) so I asked the venue if they could set some extra seats, I explained it was for under 5's and that there should be no extra charge under their terms. The day before my event (Saturday) I got an email which I didn't read until the event (Sunday) which said I had been charged for the additional 5 seats at £7.50 per head. I tried explaining it was for children and not for adults as mentioned in the phone conversation. They said I had confirmed this but they had nothing in writing to say I confirmed this all they had was there email charging me the additional amount the day before, all other emails were very clear and have the agreed amount of £248. They were not willing to listen to reason even after I said you can remove the seats if this is causing a problem but they said it was too late. I was on the verge of cancelling the whole thing and telling all of my 60 guests that we would have to go somewhere else when they finally backed down when they realised I was not going to be swindled. 2. Free for under 5's: Children under 5 are free for the tea party. What best western mean by this is that children will not be provided for in anyway which means no additional seating, no food or anything. In my view this is false advertising saying children are free to come to the tea party but not have any food or seating for them. 3. Manager not available: The manager was not able to be contacted as it was Saturday, which I understand as everyone needs a day off. But when the staff wanted to call the manager (in front of me) they did and were able to relay what the manager said but when I wanted to talk to the manager personally it was not possible. This caused many problems as they had double standards saying the manager has confirmed the policy and I would be charged even if I cancel the event but I would not be able to resolve this until Monday when the manager was back. 4. Tables: as we have used this venue before we know the layout and how it looks, but when we arrived this time it was laid out differently. The round tables were upstairs and rectangle tables downstairs laid out in a U shape like a business meeting. We asked for this to be changed but they said we had confirmed this layout prior (which we didn't). This issue was not resolved but I was fed up at this point and let it go.

I am now a regular traveller from Kent to East London for my work. I've been staying in quite a few locations but Ilford seems to be the easiest for me to get to work at the moment. I booked after reading reviews and having stayed in Best Western hotels for years now. I was placed in the annexe initially. This is opposite the main hotel across the road. I would describe the accommodation as chalet style. As I was on my own, I felt a little unsafe and wanted to be close to reception. After phoning reception, I was swiftly placed in an accessible room right by reception. I was met outside the hotel by Stepan. He was lovely and helped me with my luggage. He was totally understanding why I wanted to be in the main building and was very kind. The room I was placed in was really nice and very close to the reception. I slept really well and it was quiet. The staff here are really welcoming. The hotel is close to Ilford central too. you for helping to make my stay feel secure and for all the smiles from your lovely staff I was joined by my husband on my third night. Breakfast next morning was lovely. The choice of options was great and once again the service was lovely. Thank you for helping to make my stay feel secure and for all the smiles I recieved from your lovely staff. You are doing a great job. The personal service really goes a long way...

This budget hotel is surely one of the jewels in the Best Western crown! I'm at the top of the Best western loyalty programme....a diamond select member! On arrival I was given a welcome gift, my room had been upgraded and I felt my loyalty to this hotel was valued. My room was large, clean, lots of soap, shampoo, towels etc. I live in hotels and this one gets full marks! In addition the member of staff that checked me in, Stepan, was very attentive and professional. I sincerely hope that management appreciate the efforts of this employee. Yes, there are many hotels in this area but I doubt they match the high standards which you experience when you visit this hotel. Thank you!

Booked 2 rooms with 2 single beds with these guys for bank holiday weekend well in advance for the Anthony Joshua fight. Arrived the hotel at 4am to be told that our rooms were no longer available because of a maintenance fault and lied to us about trying to contact us. (We were later told by another employee out rooms were actually given to other guests because of the late check in and they though no was coming). They then tried to put us in what can only be described as a junkies bedsit a few miles down, awful conditions. Area was swarming with questionable ladies late at night, Eventually after kicking up a fuss and heated exchange with the receptionist who had the cheek to smirk about it we were given 2 separate rooms in 2 separate other hotels, which had 2 double beds and no the 2 singles which we paid for. Never again, avoid like the plague

We were visiting down in London watching a football game at Dagenham and Redbridge and stayed here for B&B on a Friday night. Very clean tidy and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. The staff were very good and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 50 which sleeps 3. We were given a free parking space and the breakfast was first class with as much as you can eat.

A large group of stayed here for 2 nights as part of our journey to a football match at the London Stadium. We all agreed it was excellent value for money. This place is on a street of hotels. Parking is available but arriving late meant it was rammed with tradesmens' vans. Fortunately someone left and we got a spot. Staff were so so helpful. We were genuinely grateful for them. We had a big appointment near Marble Arch and needed to get back and go on to Folkestone so we chose this. Easy access from the M11 and easy train into the City. Room was hot but fine. The sink was blocked as well. There were some very dodgy characters on the street at around 10pm so be aware. The station is a two minute walk. This was fit for purpose.

We have just spent a comfortable night at The Best Western Hotel, Ilford. At £58 for 2 including breakfast, it is great value for money. The bathroom is budget sized with little room to turn in the shower and a miniscule sink. At this price I am certainly not complaining as it was clean and attractive. The breakfast bar was quite impressive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We are planning to return at least once. With family living nearby we will probably become frequent visitors.

We stayed five night in this Hotel, it is very close to the underground station. The room was clean every day. The staff in breakfast room and reception (Mrs Agnese as I remember) was very nice and gave us warm hospitality! Breakfast preisworth. The dark side of the hotel are narrow corridors of the hotel and for that no easy acces to rooms. For the Preis that we payed, location and staff we reccomend this hotel for a group of friends who wants to visit the London and to have cloce acces to the city!

Stayed in this hotel for four nights but when I returned to my room this afternoon I found my room door lying open. I went immediately to reception to bring a member of staff to inspect the room and when she came she was shocked to see the door was unlocked. I asked to speak to a manager but was told that nobody was available to speak to me as there was no managers working that weekend. This is the poorest quality of hotel security that I have ever experienced. I was also told that this was because the housekeeper had left the room door unlocked. Not the sort of place that I would recommend people to stay at in future.

We arrived at this hotel using a Groupon voucher for a one night stay including breakfast and afternoon tea. We arrived at 4.30 and was told that we were too late for afternoon tea. We were not made aware of this when booking. The staff were very unhelpful and could have offered us a scone and cup of tea without too much effort. When booking out the receptionist left us waiting for over ten minutes without reason. Will certainly not be returning or recommending this hotel.

The hotel is located 2 streets back from a busy road in Ilford. The street at the front of the hotel is often very quiet. Sometimes it can be bedlam. It depends who is walking or driving by and what the hotel residents feel they need to shout to each other right outside the bedroom windows. The staff are friendly. The facilities are clean. It isn't fancy. It does what you need a hotel to do so don't get your expectations too high. Don't try the rubberised pre cooked eggs either unless you want to punish your self. Parking is by lottery. If you turn up late don't be surprised when you end up on the street.

The hotel is split over two buildings on opposite sides of the road. Our room is in the roof, very clean and comfortable, however sound proofing is missing so very noisy from people on stairs late at night etc The electricity is supplied by placing the room card in a slot however leaving the room stops anything being charged up. The deal included afternoon tea at their other venue around the corner which was very good. Breakfast was included also but disappointing in that it was cold and halal. Parking was a problem as there is not much locally but the hotel has a few spaces. Staff are extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Location wise the area is a mix of appearances but the good thing is the train station to London is only five minutes walk away with day ticket for about £12, covering all tube and bus journeys.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I have mobilty problems and my request for a downstairs room was met and Reception had managed to keep a space for our car in the carpark. I was also given a room with a wet room area which was a pleasant surprise. However the larger drain let in the" Ilford whiff" which you can also smell at the train station so not the hotel's fault.The room was very clean and had free toiletries to use and hot drinks facilities. If you need a meal in the hotel you can order set meals brought in from a nearby restaurant but there are several restaurants nearby. The station was a short walk away (10min for me but about 3 min if able bodied) and the trains go about every 10min. to Liverpool St station. All the staff were polite and helpful even showing us to the room and offering to carry luggage, something that doesn't always happen in hotels nowadays. Breakfast was fine with quite a good choice. The staff were excellent at filling up the food containers and clearing away the used dishes. There are no pork products but plenty of hot and cold items. We felt safe in the area. This Best Western is good value for the facilities offered such as free parking, close proximity to a station and a buffet breakfast included.

Ok so this hotel had some really good points and some bad. The price of this hotel was really good and located like a 3 min walk from ilford station which was convenient to get into London central. The rooms were nice and also clean. Which on arrival we thought we had got a bargain. However the walls in this hotel are paper thin and we could hear next door on both sides and downstairs as if they were in the room so had a very disturbed sleep! Breakfast was ok. Was nice when something had just been put out but went cold quickly which was a shame. Overall an ok hotel on a budget!

i booked into this hotel because of its location, near to transport links into london. the room i got was very small and had to be moved. however moving me resulted in no internet. the room was ok but not great, most of the staff where ok but not great. some were rude and abrupt, breakfast staff didnt look interested at all. plus there was a wide open door right in front of the stairs leading to the bedrooms. there was no security and and no need to pass by reception. i found this very disturbing. parking is also very limited for the amount of rooms. one major issue i do have with this hotel is, the taking (or freezing, they call it) part payment for bookings despite saying no payment will be taken at time of booking. they loop hole is to say it secures the room, and is mentioned right down at the bottom of the booking form. i did later go back and read the form and the wording is very ambiguous, and not clear in any way. instead of being up front and stating this on the actual booking as you are about to confirm. i was very upset about this, and i ws told the only way i could get the money unfrozen was to cancel my booking. a very unsavoury way of doing business. especially after they had already debited £1 to approve my card. i will never use this hotel again

I was looking for a cheap hotel near centre of London. Ilford is good for something cheaper. It's 20 min distance from Liverpool street station. Serves nice breakfast, but not too much variety. Rooms are pretty small but clean, walls are really too thin. That's a problem for most cheap hotels. Also they have kettle in the room. All in all not the worst option.

I came here to stay for a weekend with my husband because we were going to an event at the O2 Arena, the price was very reasonable for two nights stay and we found it was a reasonable distance from the arena. It is also located near Stratford which is well worth a visit to, it has an excellent shopping centre. The staff at this hotel were nice and very helpful. The lady allowed us to check in earlier which we thought was excellent. She provided outstanding service. The room was OK, it was a bit on the small side but was very clean and organised. It was far too hot, no air conditioning was provided. This hotel should consider installing this, it was pretty stuffy in the room. The breakfast was good, had a few options. Although I would have preferred maybe real bacon instead of Turkey bacon. At breakfast the seating was limited too. I think the stay was enjoyable, I would return if it got air conditioning.

I arrived at this hotel and it was a warm day, dEven though I had visited this hotel earlier I the cold season I did not realize that this hotel foes not have airconditioning or even fan. It was quite hot in the downstair room and I could not sleep and was sweating. There wS no mini bar / fridge in the room nor there was ice available to drink some cold water. The guy at the reception told me to walk down the street and buy some ice from the store. Really disappointing.

I stayed at this hotel for one night to attend a wedding. The location of the hotel is good as it is within walking distance from shops, restaurants and the underground train station. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, clean and the bed confortable. The breakfast was better than I was expecting. They serve a full English and continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if in this area. The price is reasonable. Parking is limited. I highly recommend.

Nice place and friendly staff who were willing to help, but you may need to remind the house keeping staff to change your bed sheets if you are staying longer than 3days. The first few days you get perfect cleaning and toiletries then after that they become miserly with it. Thin walls made it difficult to sleep soundly sometimes as noise from other rooms filter in. Apart from that the overall experience was okay.

Stayed on 19 & 20th August , firstly they made a mess up deposit that was paid online at time of booking then was told monies would be refunded in 5/7 working days & not immediately. Room was small with a small double bed, with the room being very small it was very stuffy & hot uncomfortable during sleep time & window could only be opened about 8".bed was ok but every time you turned you could feel springs in mattress moving.Finally breakfast was good but the dining room was small for number of guests that stayed there.

I got room 35, in the loft, well I say loft, more like a crawl space. You can't stand up in it, Jimmie Crankie would struggle in the shower, it's homemade....serious! It's tiny. If you lie down on the floor it's not so bad, but there is a narrow strip of around a foot wide, along the centre of the room that's about 6ft, it's all downhill from there. I can't tell you what the breakfast was like, but if it was as big as the room, I didn't miss much. Oh and by the way, there is no parking anywhere near the hotel.

We booked two rooms and I recived confirmation through email that both rooms will be on ground floor and next to each other. When we arrived they said both room are on ground floor but they r both separate. One is situated in an outhouse and one in the main building. TINY ROOMS. After a few pleasant words and saying that's not what I paid for and ill do a quick search for another property the reception was happy to show us another two rooms. Although not next to each other still. They were close together. Pros . 1.Rooms in opposite side of hotel in another building were spacious and Tidy Pleanty of Fresh Towels were available. 5 stars. 2.When ever there was a problem the staff were happy to try to help out.5 stars 3. The staff would find parking and assist.5 stars 4. The breakfast was Okish.no complaint. Staff were helpfull at breakfast. 5 Sasha at the reception was extremely helpfull and always with a smile. CONS 1. Only One Key was given for the entrance of the main building even though we had two rooms. 2. NO Airconditoning. IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT. Due to lack or air circulation in the building in August. Only One small table fan was available for the first night inbtween 2 rooms. 3. There was a sewige smell coming from the toilet of one room gradually getting worse over two days. 4.The Toilet lock of one room wasn't working and the Fire door was so heavy and quick to close that a child of 10 could get there fingers trapped. Same Room.No Fridge.

The hotel was ok for the price. We arrived in England in July and it happened to be warm. No air conditioning in the rooms. They did provide us with a fan and that helped. The area the hotel is in is not the best but it is close to public transportation. Just a short train ride to London. The staff was great and helpful. The breakfast was very good and plenty of it even if you arrived just before it was over. The room was very clean and didn't smell. Overall it was ok just wish it was in a better location.

Stayed here on a 1 night trip with work and it was good! At first, I was a bit sceptical as it looked like a guest house branded with the Best Western logos, but it was decent. Rooms ok, not massive and lots of stairs to get to my room, but I was impressed. The rate was really reasonable too, and included breakfast, which is great. I would stay here again if I was working in Ilford, but I would doubt any tourists would like the location, It is on a residential looking side street off the main road in Ilford. Only 5-10 mins walk to the station though.

Based in Manchester I booked a room at the hotel whilst working in London.. I lost my wallet and the hotel would not let us book in without the card we booked with or the cash...this was not possible as the wallet with all my cash and cards was gone. My company tried to ring them and authorise it with another card, even offering to send my passport picture so they could see it was really me the company boss passport and her card details but they refused us access even though we sent an email from our company address with proof of who I was, the card details and everything else they asked for. They said the same thing over and over again, company policy...well most companies know that sometimes things happen that are out of our control and they must accommodate people in need when things like this happen. I must thank them for leaving two hard working guys who had a very long day out on the street! The Banks up the road took us in no problem, even though they were full..they moved things around... And the banks hotel company policy is chip and pin only as well, but they could see they guys were desperate hundreds of miles from home with no money and quite a legitimate reason..and a legitimate way to pay over the phone or by email. Not very helpful, another receptionist rang back at 9.30pm to ask if they were going to turn up, after the manager telling us we couldn't stay earlier...not very professional they don't even know what's going on at there own hotel..all in all a very disappointed.

First of all I have to say that the staff were very helpful and extremely friendly - made sure the bike was safe during our stay and let us leave our cars on the carpark for the day of the race after we had checked out - can't fault them. However....our room was tiny and the mattress was so old and knackered I could feel the bars of the bed through it. Considering the location - our room was fairly quiet....except for the drummer in a house nearby who insisted on practising at 2am on our second and last night - great preperation for race ahead! Breakfast was an experience. Hash browns and baked beans were good, not sure about the "bacon" it was square and transparent? Hotel location is absolutely awful. The streets surrounding feel unsafe as there are gangs and shadiness everywhere you look - in actual fact there was a stabbing just around the corner on our first night. I would definitely not recommend this hotel and I will never stay here again.

Its really good customer service. The dealing of staff Sasha Bukina was so good.Whenever we go to reception for any thing they help very well. Stayed 4 to 5 nights in the family room. I will like to stay again and again. Location is good and quite.breakfast area and cleaning staff, were all very friendly yet still very professional. Breakfast was great. a variety of breads/muffins/bagels/cereals. Fantastic hotel- friendly, clean, awesome breakfast! Best hotel value I have sent in a long time.

We are on our 2nd night staying here.....it's currently very very warm in London and as a result of this and having a tiny room with no A/C or proper ventilation except a window against which the bed is pushed we have to look forward to another night of no sleep. Staff promised a fan within 2 hours and then failed to deliver...we asked again and were told nothing could be done but they admitted they knew how unbearably hot our room was...all while they themselves sat in a wonderfully air conditioned area. Will reconsider staying here in future..have stayed in this group before but at different hotel and in the winter.

I was on a group tour and stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The hotel was very good value for money and I would highly recommend it. The staff travels from far so on the first day they refused to give us breakfast before 7:30 but finally they somehow managed to serve before 7 am. The staff was very well trained, helpful and made our stay very comfortable. They do not have an lifts so it is hard for those who have heavy luggage and difficulty carrying the luggage but the staff helps if they have the time. There are many delicious restaurants around the area and I think it is a very good choice because I found other hotels in London quite expensive. This served my purpose. Thanks

Excellent Hotel,very friendly and helpful staff. My family stayed here after having come over from the USA. My mum is disabled has dementia and was confined to a wheelchair,and was put into a specially adapted room on the ground floor(Room 10),they stayed 4 nights during which the staff were Excellent very helpful and assissted us with their onward journey. The room was excellent,but a little cramped,very clean,and has all of the facilities. Special Card facility for unlocking Room door and for power within the room one has to slot card into slot on wall as they enter the room. Not a bad place,but made excellent by wonderful helpful staff, Overall my family enjoyed their stay.

The first night my mother and I were cramped into a tiny shoebox room, where we had little or no space to walk after placing our luggage on the floor. After relating this problem to one of the staff, Stephan, he promised that he would try to help us to get a larger room. True to his word, we were shifted the very next day to a bigger room. It got a bit hot (because it's summer) and they provided us with a fan. Best Western isn't a luxury hotel, but it's basic, neat, clean and its staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hence overall, it was a pleasant stay and for convenience and the environment at Best Western, I am confident that we will visit again, should we come to London.

Room was compact but adequate, very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Receptionist was very helpful and polite, only down side was the lack of onsite parking. Additional parking was available in a car park on the next street along you needed a parking permit from the hotel to park there apart from that v nice place. Free wifi in room tea coffee etc would stop here again for business.

The staff are very welcoming and will help you if you need anything extra. However the rooms can get quite warm and there is no air conditioning so it can be quite uncomfortable .. There were 3 of us staying in 1 room .1 Double bed and 1 single bed ... Unlike any hotel I have stayed in before for 3 people this room is very small in comparison .. Breakfast (Self serve) was great ... very fresh and staff are quick to clear up.. very efficient. Small issue with trying to sort temperature of shower out... hard to get it just right... and Upon checking out we weren't thanked for choosing to stay at best western or we weren't asked how our stay was. (Not an issue but I just thought it was common courtesy to do this).

We stayed here for 4 nights for a wedding in Ilford. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and breakfast is ok. Infact, I think the breakfast pastries are freshly made in house. I do think that the rooms are a bit small though. The double bed is tiny and the Duvet is even smaller. This is not a bed for two people at all. It has a great location and it isn't really that expensive either.

We (two Granma and a teenager grandda) stayed there four nights. Our reservation was in the Lucky 8 Hotel across the street. We checked in there after midnight but they transferred us to the Best Western. We got a room (47) in the basement with no windows. We could see a wall in front of us by a tiny openning on the upper part of the door - yes if you think Dickens you are right. We demand another room and we got a totally illogical L shaped narrow room (12) between the back yard and the reception. From one side the kitchen smell and the view of garbage bags, from the other the radio working almost the whole night easily heard trough the plaster walls. This hotel has a Muslim orientation: Breakfast "halal", Koran quotes above the doors in the public spaces. The breakfast is continental and rather poor. For the first morning they had gluten free bread, they didn't renew the stock though they already knew one of us was allergic to gluten. Good connection to center of London (about 15 minutes by train - frequency is each 15 minutes ). The neighborhood can be unpleasant when coming back to the hotel by night do to group of males (not only youngsters) wandering on the streets. The rooms were clean. There was a coffee pot and coffee/tea to prepare. No air condition, no minibar and you have to pay for the whole stay when you check in. The staff is friendly and willing to help.

I bought a Groupon voucher for tea at the Best Western in Cranbrook Road, Ilford. Whilst the area is not the most salubrious with views of the road and dirty buildings opposite, inside the best Western it's very nice. A few tables with chairs and smaller bucket chairs with small tables. Nice chandelier and very helpful staff working with a smile. The tea consisted of a sandwich each with filing of your choice from egg mayo or cheese or tuna or chicken korma. A choice of brown or whippet. We had the brown which was nice and fresh. Plenty of filling. It came on a three tier plate with petit fours and mixed fruit consisting of strawberries, grapes, raspberries and blueberries and orange slices. Beautifully presented. Also half a large teacake and one small scone each which was drizzled on top with a cherry type liquid and small jams were also on a plate. Tea or coffee choices too all in all it really was filling and also eye catching.i have booked up again for four and look forward to it. Definitely recommend it.

Stayed in this hotel for one night as was very close to where I was working on a business trip, The hotel itself seems to be in two locations we were in the main reception building. The hotel is clean and modern, small however with the feeling of a B&B, staff are very friendly, the room I was in was very small and the ensuite very small too however it was sufficient and the beds are very comfy. Breakfast was a little average, no complaints but not impressive. Not being from the UK I felt slightly on edge around the locality, but that may have been irrational. If I was revisiting the location I would stay again.

I stay there on a Friday night just for one night and I really like this hotel. Very small, very clean and very close to the Station and shops. The room was not too big but they have ver good beds and a new and modern bathroom. The bathroom was small but very clean, shower is a little bit claustrophobic but overall is a good place to stay. The only thing I didn't like was the receptionist, she was not friendly at all, didn't smile during my check in or eye contact at all, but this will not make me not to come back to this hotel.

BEST WESTERN Ilford, 3-5 Argyle Road, Ilford, London IG1 3BH I stayed for 4 nights and would highly recommend this hotel. The single room vas very comfortable, warm, clean and tidy. Facilities included tea/coffee making facilities with more than enough refreshments available, a good sized wardrobe with 8 hangers, a key pad safe, hairdryer and iron and above all a very modern flat screen TV. The room had an electric storage heating system which was easy to use and gave instant heat. Sockets and switches were of brass finish with nice wall mounted lamps in the bedroom and bathroom. The en suite bathroom was more than amble with all necessities available, it had a very modern feel to it. No less than 5 towels were made available! The hotel is ideally located, being literally 1 minute from Ilford centre. Yet it is in a quiet location, with virtually no interference from outside noise. It is definitely the quietest hotel I have stayed in, in the London area. The staff and lovely and are extremely helpful. My stay included a buffet breakfast, which offered a wide array of choices in a welcoming dining room atmosphere. Breakfast begins at 6:30am which is ideal for the early riser. I would definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation in recommending this to a friend. Top class

I've stayed for 4 nights for a business trip and chosen it for its location nearby Excel London and its good price. The room was the smallest I've ever stayed in and I was very dissapointed. The bathroom was very small and the towels were ripped and stained. The bed was very small and the matress old. The view was of a wall in the backyard. The radiator was stained with rust and in the back of the TV I saw some unsafe wires hanging. The only good things about this hotel were the nice staff and the breakfast.

As a solo traveller, it helped that I booked this hotel "prepared" and requested to be put in a room within the main building versus the "extension" across the road. The room was on the small size, but bathroom was spacious in comparison. The buffet breakfast was very good and the staff, quite very friendly and helpful. If you're on a tight budget, this is a great place to stay and very good value for money.

I was sent here when the Lucky 8 Hotel around the corner had overbooked. It seems to me as if the owners of the two hotels are in this game together. The area is poor and one to avoid. I was given one of the last 2 rooms in a converted terraced house over the road from the main hotel (which is also a converted house). The wifi didnt work in the room. It was quiet. I got an electric shock from the bathroom light which I reported in the morning. Room was OK but there is no reason to stay in this area as it isnt even thmat cheap! Never again.

Pros Welcoming reception. Clean room. Decent sized room. Fridge. Pleasant staff...cleaners, kitchen, reception. Comfortable mattress. Tasty breakfast - decent spread. Don't go late... Greasy and they don't replace finished items. Plenty of plug points. Free parking. Cons Very lumpy pillows. Destroyed my holiday. Cold shower! Noisy nights. No way of cooling room temperature. Thank God it wasn't summer. Fire alarm went off and it was switched off by member of staff - did not communicate anything to guests. This must contravene fire regs.

our room location was in a seperate building from the hotel reception across the street. first of all no instructions on how to find our room we spent 5 minutes looking at different ways into the hotel to finally find our room. the building we stayed in wasnt secure we was given a door code into the annex but a slight push and it opened anyway it never seemed to be locked. we was there with 2 young children and both nights we stayed we was rudely awoken by people coming back from town shouting and banging on doors at 2,3,4 oclock in the morning the hallways smelt like smoke quiet badly that both children came away from there with terrible coughs after only 2 nights. breakfast we had on morning number 1 wasnt that great but could find something for all of us we sat there for a few minutes hoping that a member of staff would come and great us or even just say hello. after 5 minutes waiting we figured out ourselves and just got on with it. we never went back for breakfast the following day.

When DID Best Western drop their standards to allow places like this to display the brand? I had to change rooms 3 times to get one that wasn't claustrophobic... finally ending up with something equally shabby, but at least the window looked out onto the street... and not a wall. I'm not sure if it was psychological but I found myself itching somewhat too and didn't sleep at all well. Although booked in for 2 nights after researching some of my fellow sufferers frank and honest Trip Advisor reviews I made my mind up to check out in the morning. My boss could had looked up this site before he put me in the Ilford Best Western. Oh, and when I spoke with the reception staff they laughed asking what exactly had I expected - and that all London hotels were the same!?

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was great and the rooms a reasonable size by London standards. We stayed for three days and enjoyed the stay. As we had a few bags we were given a room on the ground floor so we did not have to climb stairs with bags. The room had TV and radio. The breakfast had cereals, yoghurt, choice of fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs and scrambled eggs. Bread, butter jams, cheese, tea coffee were all available.

Situated in a less than desirable area, no dinner is served in the restaurant, as it's only open for breakfast. On top of that, the rooms were cold, there was nowhere near enough parking places and the staff friendliness was underwhelming, to say the least. My experience was so bad that I cancelled a reservation that I'd made for another night the following week. Definitely a place I will drive miles to avoid in the future

Had to stop in London for the night. At 3am the helpful staff provided us with a room. Was very pleased with excellent service. Plus there was no parking so we had to block cars in. But in the morning the staff moved our car for us into there drive. Will defo stay again. Room was clean, warm & cozy.

I accidentally left my wallet at the Best western hotel in ILFORD about a week and half ago. I had called reception and their customer service was very bad to say the least and my wallet was not found in the room and had not been handed in to lost property. I found it very suspicious that I did not book the room as my friend did and at no point gave my name as I was staying with a friend and they mentioned my full name without me ever mentioning it while talking to them on the phone? After inquiring further I tried to contact the Hotel manager without any success as they sounded so suspicious. I would never accuse anyone without any proof but it was very obvious.

Pros...near to where I was working, clean and warm, reasonable price (but a Premier Inn Would of cost the same with none of the cons... Cons...room was the size of a shoe box, door touched the desk, desk touched the bed, bed touched the wall...queen size only bed may I add. Nowhere to store my case other than the floor blocking the way to the window, so had to climb over that to close the curtains each night. Caravans have a bigger bathroom...and definatey with better water pressure. You could sit on the toilet and clean your teeth! Plastic one piece shower cubical with a door that didn't close, no matter though, com the water trickle wasn't enough for me to wash my hair! But probably the biggest issue was the sound proofing...or lack of it...I could hear EVERYTHING, the occupants of the rooms alongside and above were doing! From ablutions to arguments, log ins to TV shows...I shared them all to my neighbours, as I'm sure they did my hairdryer at 6 am every day. In this day and age you just expect MORE!

booked the hotel for 1 night via booking.com expecting to have a nice quiet evening and a good sleep. I have been allocated a room across the road from the reception area which looked like a detached ground floor house. It had only 2 rooms using the same entrance. The room had a back door with a window that looked out towards a unlit neglected garden. Even though it was locked it looked a little bit intimidating and not safe. I have asked reception to change rooms and I have moved to a different room this time a basement room and about 12 am was able to go to sleep. After approx 30 min a group of people have been allocated the 2 rooms next to mine. They were talking very loud and after about 10-15 min I have phone reception regarding the noise but also informed them that because of the heavy rain the ceiling on top of the entrance door was leaking. The heating wasn't working and the carpet started to become wet as my coat and shirt got wet as well. I had to move rooms again and finally around 1.30am i could finally go to sleep. At check-out I tried to get in touch with the hotel manager requesting a refund for my stay but I was told she is not around. Later in the afternoon I have tried to reach her by phone but I was told she has already left the hotel and I have been given the email address. I have emailed the management team and finally received a response the following day informing me that I will not be refunded but offered a special offer of £40 including breakfast for any booking date in future. I politely refused as I will definitely not be using the hotel again and requested once again the full refund but the manager emailed me shortly after insisting of a voucher for the sister hotel in Grater Anglia. Unfortunately the offer made it was not suitable for me as my next travel will not be in the area that the hotel is located and asked once again for a refund but the manager of the hotel emailed me the following : Thank you for the email. Just to let you know all our rooms comply with Best Western Quality Assurance Scheme and AA Hospitality Regulations. Again, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused. Since you have rejected all my offers, I can not help you any further. Please note that this case is closed. Kind Regards, Please note Best western Ilford, I will definitely not be using the hotel ever again !!! and hopefully my experience wont be ever repeated !

Booked this for three nights for a work project, via booking.com - I needed to be able to work in my room in the evenings and have a safe, close place to park, and I asked for these when I booked. However, when I arrived, late (as I'd told them I would be) there was no parking available and they had booked me into the 'sister' hotel half a mile away on the main road (which had no parking at all). I insisted they found me a room at this hotel, which eventually they did, and eventually a parking space was found. Sadly, my room was immediately adjacent to both the reception desk and the kitchen; on the first night, two men running the reception desk talked, loudly, until 1.30am; I could hear every word and whilst it was very tedious, it failed to send me to sleep. Then, the kitchen kicked into action at half past five (and did so for the next two mornings too) so I was awoken by clattering and banging, swiftly followed by greasy breakfast smell, which lingered. My room was poky and awkwardly shaped and the double bed was rammed side on into an alcove so it was lucky I was on my own, as a second person would have had to climb over the other person to get in and out. Yes, it was cheap - for London. And yes, it was convenient for my project. But I won't be staying there again. It was drab, noisy and smelled of fried breakfast at all times.

The hotel was located nearby the train station and all staff went out of their way to go the extra mile. They give me a disabled room due to my mobility and medical issues. The room was bigger than normal room and pleasant décor. Although the only thing that I didn't enjoy was the breakfast, it wasn't my cup of tea. Overall for 2 nights stay was great.

Stayed for one night with my son in family room. Easily accessible, free parking, walking distance to high street and Train station. Very helpful & courteous staff, free wife, generous breakfast. Highly recommended.

good value for money London hotel for bed and breakfast, no restaurant, easy to find, limited parking but helpful staff sort street parking and move your car before 8am to avoid any fines. Self service breakfast was adequate wth choice of both hot and cold items.

I had three nights of interrupted sleep due to car parking issues, noises from the room above, and the corridor outside the room, the room insolation is none existence as you can hear every thing going on including snoring noise from next room Parking is a nightmare only few parking bays out side the hotel building, asked to leave my car on a single yellow line good job it was after 18:00, blocking cars parked in these bays and to leave my car keys at the reception in case some one need to get their car out, was not happy leaving my keys, being tired having just driven for 4 hours + from Manchester; I was disturbed at 22:15 by the reception calling me asking me to move my car having to get out of bed get dressed to move my car 2 yards ...

As always a very pleasant stay it's the third time we stayed here I visited with my sister for my birthday and we usually come with the girls so we've experienced a double , triple and a room for 4 couldn't fault any of them lovely Couple of downsides this stay was the breakfast is usually fab but this time everything we had cooked was cold which is a real shame so maybe a problem with the Heater it's kept in so next morning I had cereal and croissant. And the pillows in our room were like pancakes please replace :) Thanks for a lovely stay perfect for us as we visited west fields on Friday and went to oxford street Saturday love this hotel and we've booked up for Jan for our friends birthday see you soon :))

We transferred our booking from the sister hotel on Cranbrook Road because that hotel had no parking and did not have the facilities we wanted. The hotel on Argyle Road? Four of us in two double rooms which were obviously only big enough to be single rooms. We literally had to stack two chairs on top of one another to make room to put our bags down. The bed was very short and, although the room was reasonably clean and the breakfast was fine,we would not stay here again. No bar, no leisure facilities. no lift. On the plus side, the staff were helpful and transferred us to much better rooms for our second night.

It was my first time staying in a hotel and I had a great time. Staff was very nice, the room was clean, they even cleaned every day. The bed was comfy, tv worked fine, bathroom and room were pretty big. There was a lot of choice at the breakfast. The location isn't perfect, but it's fine. I booked another hotel but they were full so they gave me a room in this hotel for the same price, that might have given me a more positive view because I didn't expect anything. If I could afford it I defenitely would book this hotel again.

Room was small but clean and tidy.Bathroom was really small,shower door is not working perfectly so when you are taking shower there will be lots of water in floor.Breakfast was good. But the main thing I m giving them one star less because of their unorganised behaviour,We booked the room till 3rd of November means we are checking out 4th of November.But suddenly they told us one night before we need to check out 3rd of November.When we told them we booked hotel till 3rd of nOVEMBER.And we will get 3rd of nVMBR night they said no,coz we booked till 3rd of nvbr we need to leave on 3rd of November.That was strange.Then we requestthem to extend our room for 1 more night they said no more rooms available its fully booked strange !!! Later on some other website i saw their rooms!!My question is we are living on your hotel for last 12 days and for your fault we like to extend our stay for one more night (coz we need the room for only 1night) you didn't give us when you actually have the room.Even we told them if they have any suite we can take them. Why?? This is the thing I didn't like there .And yes sometime they forget to give the bathroom amenities. otherwise good bed for sleep but whenever you guys are booking just be double sure about check in and check out date.

Staff was very helpfully. Breakfast was great with many choices. The only thing for a double room was extremely small, but clean and tidy. The only suggestion I would give is that the tv was facing the wall so very uncomfortable to watch. Location great walking distance to train and bus station. Shops near by.

The hotel was very clean and the staff very, very helpful. We had booked 2 rooms - a double and a twin but we were given a quad and a triple. Some of the lights in the triple room did not switch off (a previous customer could have broken the pull cord!!) but it was fixed the next day. These were no phones in the rooms that we had. I was not very impressed with the breakfast - fired eggs and scrambled eggs were over cooked. The beef sausages were in the same serving bowl as the hash browns - not so good if you do not eat beef or are vegetarian. But the choice of cereals and fruit was good. The location was excellent. Only 2 minute walk to the railway station and London City was about 30 mins ride and Stratford (for the Westfield shopping mall and the Olympic Stadium only 5 minutes ride). Overall I would recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was perfect and OK.The double room given to me was too small for a double room but the toilet and the bathroom was clean, well decorated and pleasant to use. there was so much noise coming from the corridor and adjacent bedroom. The wall clock is too noisy. Overall i enjoy my stay

This 'hotel' is a little odd, split between at least three buildings on opposite sides of the street. Stayed in an annex room onopposite side of road from reception. First impression was that the room had a strong smell of ciggarettes and was a little tatty. The bed was up against a wall directly under a window and near a door, in winter I imagine it can get chilly. There was a ticking clock on the wall, a pet hate of mine so that was instantly removed. Handles were handing off cupboard doors and the carpet was stained. The bathroom smelt of spices, maybe a plumbing issue, as water drained slowly too and the sink plug was missing. The area is residential but seemed very loud with activity all night long, shouting, engines revving etc... One saving grace is that the front desk staff were very helpful and after a nightmare journey arranged for us to stay here where we had parking rather that the main street Best Western.

Stayed here for 1 night only whilst in the area for business. Check in staff were pleasant and I had booked a small double room with breakfast. The room was small however it was tidy, with a decent ensuite. Wifi worked fine. The hotel us obviously a regular for contract workers as breakfast was busy at 0700 hours with a lot of people heading off to work. Breakfast was great. A good selection of hot cooked items as well as cereals, toast etc. Parking is obviously an issue as the hotel doesn't have that many spaces. Street parking is free from early evening up to 0800 hrs. Would definitely consider staying here again.

I stayed one night recently in a tiny 3rd floor single room. The room itself was very well equipped and clean. Although very warm a fan was provided which proved very necessary even in September. Breakfast was included in the cost but unfortunately their facilities are clearly too limited for the number of guests they have and despite a 7.30 am departure on a Saturday morning there was a long queue to get in and so for the first time in a hotel I was obliged to check out before breakfast. It may have been bad timing but certainly worth taking into consideration when booking this place.

We stayed in the annexe across the street, very dated and cheap look, double bed pushed up against a window so both of us had to get in sane side. A bit disappointed as this was supposed to be a free room upgrade (which I'm entitled to due to having platinum rewards card) On the plus side we got a breakfast sandwich included and one member of staff was very polite and helpful. The

We steyed there four nigts, as members of tourist's group. Rooms are very clean, but small, and partly on the other old buildings in the street. In the multicultural Ilford city there are friendly pubs and indian restorans, magazins. It is only 30 min to London by comfortable train and metro (but not on the pick hours!)
