Best Western Mornington Hotel London Hyde Park

All staff I spoke to were kind and polite The room though smaller had everything you might need and was clean and tidy. I was there for 2 nights and had the misfortune to be next to someone who slammed their door at 00:40 each night then proceeded to have a conversation for an hour that could be heard in its muffled tones as well as someone above who felt the need to rearrange furniture constantly ( these people seem to follow me everywhere!) . Breakfast was plentiful and probably the best selection on a full English I've found worldwide but everything was cold, beans ,sausage,egg,fried bread,black pudding ,mushroom , bacon, hash browns all cold on both mornings.The coffee was warm though only half a cup from the machine. The choice of orange juice from a unit or oranges to squeeze yourself was a nice touch. The price was reasonable at just under £100 per night and its very conveniently placed with access to Paddington and Lancaster Gate tubes as well as on the doorstep to Hyde Park

Excellent location right at Hyde Park, walking distance to pretty much all the places in central London. A lots of restaurants, convenient stores are near by. Room is small without noise proof so it would be noisy in the morning and a bit cramped for 2 people but otherwise it's good. They have a cosy library/bar next to the reception area. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again next time coming back to London.

Lovely fresh and clean hotel in an amazing location. Beatrice at reception was very kind and accommodating. Gave us lots of useful information and even called our room after checking in to it to make sure we were happy with it.

Stayed hede for 3 nights in March 2024. Nice and clean hotel. Spacious and clean room. I love the Ritual products in the bathroom. Very good breakfast buffet with all you can wish for breakfast. Good location. Easy check-in and out. Friendly staff.

Ideally located, clean and a tasteful breakfast with lots to choose from. The room was a little bit small, but clean and updated. We had a good stay. Just one tip; take your valuables with you. My wallet was taken out of the room when we were downstairs having breakfast.

Hi just returned from a couple of days in London, first time at this hotel but do like to use Best Western is possible, arrived at 1-45 pm our room was ready check in was quick , we had a a twin executive room on the 4th floor right outside of the lift it was well equipped two easy chairs large tv desk tea coffee making bottles of water ,cans of pop and chocolate bars biscuits etc , It was a less than 10 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube station and probably same again for bus routes 10 minutes central London It was a very nice and safe location with a few bars close by , and 15 minutes walk you were in queens way with another tube station and a good section of restaurants , pubs , quick food outlets ,local shops , Across the road and you are in Hyde Park with fountains, lakes ,nice safe easy walking paths with a lot of interesting monuments etc , Later back at the hotel the was very hot for March but the air conditioning worked well could have done with a anti slip mat for the shower, could only get hot and warm water from the basin taps , Good selection of items for breakfast next day ,cereal ,fruit,cold meats , cheeses, cakes, hot breakfast including bacon ,sausage, eggs, beans ,mushrooms, grilled tomatoes could have been hotter and a plate warmer would have helped toast and bread , plus tea , coffee , juice all available We stayed for 2 nights on a 2nd night free deal which was excellent value in all we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to family and friends , just hotter breakfast please ,

This was our second visit to this hotel. We returned as we were so impressed by it. It is ideally located, a 5 minute walk from Hyde Park. Our Diamond Select Rewards loyalty membership was recognised at check in as we were given an upgrade to a suite. The staff there are what really makes it special, from Joanna and Chimegee on breakfasts, which are always of great quality, to Sylvia from housekeeping who ensures guests rooms are kept clean and well stocked and the receptionists too. You really are made to feel welcome. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to our next visit.

It was comfortable and well located with friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent comprising of a wide selection of both hot and cold dishesOur room was very well appointed. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation. It was our second stay.

Close to a tube station and felt safe walking to the hotel. Staff very helpful, with efficient check in and check out. Room clean with all amenities and bed very comfortable. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice. Got a good deal on the 2 for 1 offer which was a great price. Would stay again.

I was staying here one night before I left London, but wish I would have stayed more. The staff were very friendly and gave me a complimentary breakfast for the stay. Walking distance to Hyde park. Quiet and very clean room. Would stay here again.

If u want a really nice quiet area of london this is for you.only 10 minutes walk to Paddington.and the tube station is around the corner and even better the vast hyde park.The mornington hotel best western is perfect to stay in.from start to finish it was a joy.from the front desk to the morning breakfast.they were spot on once again.and I have stayed in a few BW .

The attention to Customer Satisfaction is second to none and the care and attention is much appreciated Abz was brilliant and you can't fault him I am enjoying my stay and am far more comfortable and relaxed here than some of the usual chains I have stayed in Being privately owned makes a difference

Bookingsuk@ travel stay the agency we booked through was a nightmare and because of their incompetency we were stuck at the Reception for over 1 1/2 hrs.Mr moussa the manager on duty at the time along with his coworkers mr Louis and assistant Sonia were extremely patient and helpful throughout the whole ordeal.We were presented with free full breakfast coupons and drinks from the bar throughout the duration of our ordeal.I recommend this Hotel to all my friends and will be staying there when I am in London.Price wise I think it's hard to beat but I recommend booking directly through the front desk.

Needed somewhere close to a conference I was attending, and this did the job! Friendly welcoming reception area and the room was a generous size for London. Nice touch having Rituals products in the bathroom! Would certainly recommend as somewhere not in the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk to that or catch the tube!

We chose this location as it was near Hyde Park and the museums there, and it was in a lovely area. The hotel was really lovely! The team went and above and beyond to make us comfortable, the breakfast buffet was scrummy and the rooms were comfy with some nice little extra touches. Would stay here again!

Arrived before check-in time to be told I fortunately we couldn't check in early because their WiFi was down, staff were very apologetic and accommodated us by giving us a room upgrade. Amazing customer service all round with all staff being very friendly and welcoming. Hotel was very clean along with the rooms which were clean and a good size compared to other hotels. Great location being a quick 5 min walk (if that) to the closest tube station. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to London. Thank you!

A really nice hotel with great helpful staff. Arraved at 12 expecting to leave bags and check in later, but room was ready and were able to check in early without extra charges.really good breakfast selection included when you book direct . A short stroll from the albert hall the main reason for choosing this hotel. Thankyou for an enjoyable stay.

We were staying at the hotel for a long weekend. The hotel its walking distance to the near tube station, however it was closed as the underground have lack of staff. The room was very clean and the bathroom was in good condition.

I had trouble with this hotel from the moment I arrived. (Though I probably made a mistake by reserving it through Agoda, which is questionable too!) The hotel said Agoda did not forward the funds for the reservation to them in advance of our stay so I had to pay the hotel Directly as well! Agoda said the problem was the fault of the hotel. I just now got back my payment from Agoda. Next they put me in a "suite," as they had given my room away to someone else who arrived early. They said my original room was "having some issues repaired and there was no Double Room." This "suite" was just a room for three on 2 floors and did not qualify as a suite. There was a single bed downstairs and a double bed upstairs int he very upper floor! I have stayed in a Suite before and I know what a suite is. Next, the air conditioning "worked" in that "suite" but was SO Minimal that that it made no difference in the temperate of the room during the heat wave in London during the first week of September. Very hot an uncomfortable and there was not even a window in that "suite." Next, I just checked my credit card bill and it has 2 charges of 40 GBP on it from the hotel. After emailing the hotel, they tell me that is was the charge for breakfast, even though breakfast was INCLUDED in the cost of the room reservation and they certainly made no attempt to inform me of this while I was there! They just charged me without telling me. I am trying to get that refunded as well. There were too many questionable things that did not add up with this establishment and am doubting if they are being honest with with their clients but cannot prove it, especially in light of the other recent horrendous reviews on Trip Advisor. I would NOT recommend you stay here. I never will!

Location is great but the room was absolutely tiny, bed pushed up against the wall. The airconditioning didn't work and is, in fact, controlled only by the front desk. The room (305) was stuffy and had little or no ventilation. Despite several requests to the front desk, the airconditioning wasn't turned on. It was an uncomfortable stay.

Very nice hotel, nice interiors and a clean, cosy room. Decent shower and bath. Once we had arrived in our room, we received a call from reception to check if we were happy and also an email to let us know what to do if we weren't. The only downside was that the evening I booked this and some other things, my card was cloned. Despite having paid for the hotel months ago, they said I had to be refunded and pay again because I couldn't provide the original card, however the refund would take 5-7 days. This seemed a totally pointless exercise to me and a bit of admin I could have done without on starting my honeymoon. It also left me short of £76 extra for no good reason.

Never Book This Hotel!!! The staff was incredibly rude. They lied about the "family" room, saying it had a sitting area. It was a small room, three floors down from the lobby, in the basement that was small. Told the sitting area was when you folded up the pullout bed. The door DID NOT LOCK. When asked about it, was told "no one comes down here." Staff would not give their names initially, but eventually everyone gave the same name! Stayed one sleepless night (who could sleep with a door that couldn't lock?) and left first thing the next morning. 1000% would not recommend. If I could, would give zero stars. Horrible!!!

I never normally leave bad reviews but there were too many issues on this occasion to not warn others about... I booked this room through our work booking system (over £300 per night, although there must have been an event on as all hotels in the area were more expensive than usual). The front entrance was hidden behind scaffolding so took some time to find; when I arrived we found that the hotel had cancelled my room without notifying or contacting me, luckily they still had 1 room available so we were able to sort something out after 10-15mins. The slowest lift ever took me up to floor 5, I walked out of the lift and found my room right next to it (noisy for a fair bit of the night). The tiny room in the photo cost £307 for 1 night. When I opened the door I was hit by the stink of bleach. The window was open so they were clearly aware that it smelt really strongly. When I checked the tv the sound wasnt working either so I called down so discuss both issues. Reception said I could come and collect an alternative tv remote or I could have a refund and leave (no other options to make sure I didnt have to sleep with chemical fumes overnight). Luckily I managed to make the air conditioning work and after 40 mins the smell did start to dissipate. The curtains didnt close properly, I had to prop pillows against the window to keep out the light. When showering the next morning the shower head was at waist height and refused to be moved up so I had to kneel in order to get my hair wet. The shower was only a dribble. Honestly, I dont know why you would stay here. Shocking and worst best western I've ever stayed in.

Comfortable hotel in safe, quiet location, with easy access to Hyde Park and to Central London. Friendly staff, quality breakfast (included). Only negatives - the single, compact and VERY slow lift, and very poor water pressure in our 4th floor room. Not cheap, but worth the price for the location.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small, but that may be the norm for a London location. The room AC was noisy, but worked well enough. It is conveniently located close to Kensington Garden, many local restaurants and pubs (Don't miss Cafe Sheila!). and a subway station. The breakfast brunch was good, but not included with the room and a bit pricey.

I spend between 80-100 nights a year in hotels. Many of them at Best Western. I am a Diamond Select member and have many other Elite hotel memberships. This was by far my most horrific hotel experience in my 25 years of professional traveling. Ever! I am sure the staff did their best with what they had at their disposal but the manager of this hotel should be ashamed.

There air conditioning is not working at all and hasn't been for about a month,they have not even advertised this on there home page,customers are having to go there and sleep in appalling conditions it's like sauna in the rooms and also they have fans…please do not waste your money here

We arrived early at the hotel and they were able to look after our luggage with no problem so that was great. We were slightly concerned about how warm reception was. Hotter than outside which was saying something! We returned at 3pm. Check in is at 2. We needed to leave again at 4pm. Only 2 of the 3 rooms were ready and my brother was told check out was from 2pm and his room wouldn't be ready until 4. At 3.25, with little time left until we had to leave, they had to accept a downgrade. We had an executive room but I'm not sure what was executive about it. There were no extras, the room was very hot with an air conditioning unit you could only feel if you stood under it. My towel was either stained or dirty but with check in having taken so long there was no time to do anything about it. There appeared to have been an accident with the carpet in the corner as there were bits missing. We managed to sleep but it was incredibly hot. Breakfast was fine. A good location for the tube but we won't be returning.

Clean, amazing air conditioner unit, wonderful staff, great safe location by park and tube. The breakfast was well worth the price with lots of choices and delicious coffee. This is a smaller boutique style hotel with a professional staff. I definitely recommend.

On the 25th June we was unlucky enough to stay here. It's taken a while to write this review as I have been waiting for Mika to get in touch regarding our complaint. I'm guessing he's been moved on by now..... We arrived a little after 4pm fully expecting our room to be ready, unfortunately it was not. After 20 mins or so waiting about we got given our keys for room 18. We dropped our bags and went to the concert at Hyde Park. We got back to the room a little before 12, the air conditioning unit was on although it wasn't really doing much which was problematic as it had been 31 degrees that day and with a room in the basement it really was quite hot. The air con unit was making a noise every 10-15 mins like a motor trying to work clearing the water from the unit. We grabbed the odd bit of sleep and eventually gave up about 2-2.30 when we called reception. He said he'd try to resolve it from there but nothing changed and the noises continued. We decided to turn the unit of at the panel which we did but the noises continued so we called reception again where he said he'd come and have a look. We got dressed and waited for the receptionist to arrive. He had a look but he didn't know anything about air con and why should he? We decided to take the fuse out so at least we had quiet, the heat on the other hand was unbearable, we asked to be moved but no other rooms were available. We tried our best to sleep in the shoe box sized sauna that was our room, we got the odd bit of sleep but not much. The bathroom was dirty and had hair in the shower and sink! The quality of the workmanship within the room was so poor its hard to describe. The workman who done the tiling and decorating should really go and get their cataract looked at!! truly the lowest workmanship I have ever seen! The floor was uneven and the windows grubby. The bed itself wasn't very comfortable and the mattress was felt like it was dipping to a side. All in all, a terribly finished dirty room, abysmal standards. If this is the best the UK has to offer we should give up now! The following morning after a very nice breakfast which we was very surprised about considering what we had been through we went to reception to report our faults and disappointment of the room. The receptionist offered us a 25% refund on the room which we refused as we felt it wasn't no where near enough compensation for having very little sleep and being slowly cooked from the inside out while washing in other guests bodily hair. The receptionist took my email address as she said she couldn't offer any more but the manager could. I was told that Mika would be in touch to resolve. I told her that we expected a full refund and an apology for the third world standard room we had to stay in. The email never did arrive so I sent an email to Mika. Almost 2 weeks of waiting and the reply arrived. It wasn't a great email, a pathetic apology and he offered me a 25% discount on the next stay!! My offer had gone down and I was expected to stay in a third world room again. As customer service goes, you couldn't make it up. I replied to the email advising that the offer he'd sent us was below what we'd already had and expected. I ever did receive a reply hence the review. The room is beyond anything I have ever stayed in before and management non existent. Avoid this hotel, it's poorly managed, built and ran by amateurs.

The public areas are very comfortable, the staff are friendly and the breakfasts were great. We booked an executive room was poor. Room was clean but damp towels had been left on the bathroom door by the previous guests. The room was very warm and the aircon did not work. Receptionist said he could adjust it but did nothing. Window only opened 4 inches so could not get fresh air. Noise from kitchen fans kitchen fans woke us about 06.30. Bathroom was clean but shower head fixing was worn so could not direct the spray. Very hot water came out of the cold tap - needed to run for about 5 minutes to clean my teeth. Good location but need some maintenance.

We stayed here for 5 nights in early July. To our surprise there was air conditioning (a lot of London hotels do not have aircon!). The staff, location and breakfast were excellent. There is a tube station nearby and the surrounding area is fairly quiet. There are a few nice places to eat nearby too. The hotel is a little worn but still clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Room was a smaller than what I'm used to but I did not spend much time in it. There was a bar/lounge that looked cozy but I didn't take advantage of that or the breakfast.

Very clean hotel in an ideal location, 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Underground station. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was more than adequate. on the down side, the rooms were very small including the bathroom and the air conditioning was awful. Our room was extremely hot at all times of the day and night.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice on our recent trip to London. We booked an Executive Queen room for both occasions. The first time we got a twin room with two single beds. Room was decent size and didn't complain as it was only for two nights. For the second time we were given a tiny room where we had to climb over each other to get in or out of bed. We were told they were overbooked that night and they would credit us for the difference in cost. Still haven't seen the credit. We were given the booked room for next five nights. Both times we received an email welcoming us to our rooms with the number of the room given. Both times the room number was different. On departure I was asked to rate our stay. The breakfast was great, as was the location but the customer service was dreadful. When asked how I made our reservations I said I was a Best Western member and booked directly. Won't be going back to this hotel.

Our trip to London was the final stop on our 2-week vacation and the Best Western Mornington Hotel made it the perfect ending to our trip. We had 3 adults, and they were able to accommodate us in a 2-floor level room. The hotel location was perfect - right at the top of beautiful Hyde Park. The train station was nearby which made it easy for us to transfer from the airport and walk to the hotel. This hotel is beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing with several breakfast options to choose from. Especially loved the fresh Croissants and Cappuccino. Plenty of dining options to walk to/choose from nearby the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in London.

Very tiny room and bed with hardly any space to move around or stow luggage. No side table or lamp on one side of the bed. That side is so close to the wall there was no room to walk - had to scoot sideways and duck by a beam. Elevator was small and very slow. Breakfast was 20 pounds each; we found a nearby place for full English breakfast for half the price. Coffee maker in the room which was good. We liked the staff which was friendly and responsive.

The room arrangement was chaos. We booked the suite for 5 nights and only provide the suitable room for us for 4 nights. The staff was not helpful, one of the lady was impolite and did not familiar with the rooms size.

My husband and I stayed here twice in theist 6 weeks. The location is very nice. Close to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and Notting Hill. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are very small. Our first room had a queen bed and very little space to walk around. There was little places to unpack a suitcase and even less to leave the suitcase open. Our second stay had 2 twin beds and again, the room was so small, the foot one bed prevented us from being able to open the door fully. We would stay again, but only if we limited our luggage considerably and managed our expectations.

Viewed this hotel from a recent visit to London, wished I had chosen this the first time. Friendly staff, beautiful, relaxing hotel to stay at. Lift right at your side when checking in, so very easy to get to your rooms, very quiet road at night, nice food in the restaurant. Five minutes walk to the under ground and a minutes walk to the bus stop, Hyde Park is just around the corner, so the perfect location for a day in London.

Hotel was okay - average for London, but low standard compared to other European cities. Breakfast was okay, and location was nice as it was very close to the park. Rooms were small, but clean. Breakfast staff was really nice, but cleaning staff did not seem to respect normal boundaries, i.e. walking into room without knocking, and just began “cleaning” even though I was getting ready, and my travel partner was using the toilet!

Very small room even by local standards - no ability to walk on 1 side of the double bed . Strange check-in system where card had to be done twice to do an "authorization." This caused delays and troubles. Turns out they do a 1p charge - this looks like fraud to many credit card companies and often gets denied. I went back after a chaotic check-in experience to add my Best Western number but they couldn't even do that. Water pressure and shower was great on the ground floor but terrible on the 5th - barely a trickle. So, it ended up being a very mixed stay.

A last minute booking at the Mornington at a very good price for a single room on breakfast on us promotion Well furnished hotel with comfortable well equipped bedrooms Excellent breakfast with wide choice gets a10/10 score!

My wife and our daughter had 2 nights. The first for Best Western points and the second for payment. They were shown a terribly small room that was dirty and had candy wrappers on the floor. The intention was that they should stay the first night there, and the next in another room. Upon contacting the Front Desk, they immediately got a better and bigger room...! Whether it had anything to do with points/payment is not known. As a band aid to the wound and the bad experience, they were offered a 20% discount on breakfast on day 2. However, this was free as it was part of the room rate. Such a bad offer. The best thing about this hotel is that it is close to Paddington Station within walking distance.

What a great weekend we had in London,would like to say a huge thank you to Fred for his enthusiasm, certainly an asset to the front of house. Room was great and breakfast spread was amazing with continental and full English on offer. Will definitly be using this hotel again

Although we had a couple of issues at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and fixed the requested problems. I'll start with the bad, but overall, we really had a wonderful stay. We did have one rather serious safety issue that we resolved ourselves, that I suspect is a housekeeping problem. When we arrived back to our room after seeing a show, so at approx. 23:00, the window to our room was very ajar. We don't know how long it was open, but we were not the ones who opened it. I suspect housekeeping opened it while cleaning the room and forgot to close it again. Everything was fine in the room, but the biggest issue with it was that directly below our window was the roof to a one-story building, so it would have been incredibly easy to enter our room from the outside through the open window. We didn't see anything missing, so we simply closed and locked the window, but it could have ended very poorly had we not noticed it left open or had someone entered while we were gone. We did not mention it to the hotel because the solution was to close and lock the window, which we did. We also encountered the issue of not being able to check into our room because it wasn't ready, despite it being past the posted check-in time of 14:00 and well past our expected arrival time. That said, the front desk was very nice and helpful and the lobby is a beautiful and comfortable place to wait. Our room was nice and clean with plenty of space by European standards. I did have trouble getting the AC to run, as it kept shutting itself off. I managed to get it to run just the fan and it was fine. The next day, without me saying anything, someone came by at some point and set it to run the AC without shutting off. We also mentioned to the front desk that one of the TVs wasn't working properly, but that it didn't matter to us since we weren't using it. They still came by and fixed it. So rest assured, the hotel will do their best to resolve any issues that come up, sometimes without even having to ask. Overall, the hotel was very nice and we had a great stay. The helpfulness and friendliness of Fred at the front desk really made up for any issues we had, and the location is wonderful. I recommend getting the breakfast at the hotel, as it was very good. We were very happy with our stay and would happily stay there again.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel for our first trip to London. It was a great location just a few minutes away from Hyde Park, Lancaster Gate underground (and bus stop), Paddington Station and the Thistle Hotel which was a stop on the Tootbus (or Hop on Hop off bus) route. Also only a few minutes away from nice pubs and restaurants if you wanted to stay local. The hotel itself was clean and tidy. I probably would've liked a slightly bigger room but I didn't come to London to sit in the room all weekend anyway so the room was sufficient. We had a small issue with the room safe and a member of staff quickly resolved that. A couple of times we went to the bar and there was no-one behind it (I think the staff work between reception / bar) so that was slightly frustrating but that I think was the only negative all weekend. Breakfast was nice and what you would expect, serving both hot & cold food and the staff were very helpful. We had a lovely weekend in this hotel and definitely would consider booking again and I would recommend it to others.

Worst experience I've ever had. I've booked a month ago and after a long hourney with my 10 year-old daughter, they told me that THEY ARE OVERBOOKED! And sent us to another hotel of theirs in a bad place and made us stay a nigr in a room in the BASEMENT with GARBAGES rigt under my window. I can't even open the window to get sone fresh air. And what is worst , THE FAN IS NOT WORKING in the whole hotel. It was me who called the cab to get to our original hotel next day. And when I asked for refund for that terrible night, the manager mr Hugo didn't even bother to reply my e mail. I'm so sorry to had my daughter exprienced that bad staying.

First class service, very clean rooms, generous breakfast and great location, situated only 10 minutes walk from Paddington, 5 minutes walk to Underground station and 5 minutes away from Hyde Park. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Our room was so small that the bed was against the wall with no room for bedside tables - wall one side, door the other. There was one table at the foot of the bed on the wall side which prevented one occupant getting out without climbing over the other. The bar service so so slow that we gave up and there were no crisps.

Got to go early in the room did not need to wait till 2. Beds where good and the cushions also. Only the space for the toilet was a little bit small. The hair dryer was also super and the possibility of ironing was nice.

Stayed here for third time and as always was very good. It is very reasonable and in a great location just off Hyde Park. Our shower broke and within 5 mins of reporting it a maintenance man was up to have a look and had it fixed in 20mins! Would recommend to anyone coming to London for a short visit.

Stayed here with family for a couple of nights in January. Very handy for Paddington station, Hyde Park, Oxford Street and Mayfair. Surprisingly quiet location, one road back from Bayswater Road. Normal sized London hotel rooms. Lovely breakfast and very clean and tidy.

We arrived just after 2pm. Unfortunately we couldn't get into our room. We waited. Eventually it was 3.45 when we could get in. It wasn't really a problem, we sat and read the papers. The room itself was large, fresh and clean. A kettle with coffee, tea and biscuits. Large TV. Quiet room. The staff all very friendly and apologetic that we had to wait. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose. Very good value for the money. I would stay there again

Stayed 3 nights very close to tube, had a single room with shower room all very clean and cosy. Staff were all pleasant good choice at breakfast and very good value for money will definately stay again

Great location and clean and well kept facilities. The rooms are small but for London and the price it was worth it. My room was a double and with two luggages we barely had enough space so my advice is if you tend to overpack ir carry more than one luggage get a bigger room, its worth paying the price.

I stayed at the Mornington 3 nights in mid-November and i do not regret it at all. A wholly adequate though not fancy bedroom, high up and facing the back thus quiet. Excellent breakfast downstairs, with quick and friendly staff. And a pleasant lobby ("Library") bar for e g pre- or post-dinner drinks (though not too impressively stocked). Not least a very convenient location, a few hundred metres' walk from Paddington station and literally round the corner from Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.

On arrival I was told the room wasn't ready ( I was very early) but was told I could store my luggage. Reception area of hotel really nice and welcoming friendly staff. Room small but it is London sp average size for area, bed is really comfy and bathroom nice...only downside is sink tap didn't look like had been cleaned for sometime and 2 hairs found on shower head. Room I was in (#212) could hear hairdryer and running water sounded like pipework but was quite annoying especially early hours. Overall I would stay here again and would recommend this place just needs the points addressing and rectified and would be 5 stars.

The Best Western Mornington Hotel is well located (next to Hyde Park and Oxford Street). The staff was very profesional (welcoming and helpful). The bedroom was clean, quiet and the bed comfortable. The breakfast perfect with a good variety of food. It is our third experience at the Best Western Mornington and we won't hesitate to book again in this hotel.

Had a very pleasant stay here. All of the staff is extremely friendly (you know who you are, Fred) and the hotel is cozy and comfortable. It is also very close to Paddington station, that is very convenient when you're coming from Heathrow airport

This is a nice hotel centrally located. 5 min walk from Lancaster gate tube. Breakfast was good with a wide selection and good coffee. Several times we had to wait for the person in reception, so take care if you are in a rush! The room was a bit hot, but all in all we recommend this hotel.

Went as a family of 5. We were supposed to have a 3rd adult with us but they couldn't make it. We called the direct hotel number to inform them of the change and no one ever picked up. I ended up calling the best western number from my booking in America and let them know of the change in circumstances, specifically asking that the 2 rooms we booked were as close together as possible. We were assured that a note was made regarding room proximity since we were going to be 2 adults with 3 children. Upon check in we find that one room is in the basement - next to a noisy storage cupboard - and the other room is 2 floors higher with no direct access. Not ideal. The rooms were filthy. My room was by far the worst. The couch was stained and torn. The curtains were covered in stains (goodness knows what it was) and even the walls were stained. The bathroom had hairs on the floor / tub and the floors in the main area were gross. Not ideal when you're traveling with a 1 years old that wants to touch everything. As noted in previous reviews, the rooms are very small. We were there for 2 nights and really struggled to find space for our suitcase, my stroller and our belongings. I looked up for other rooms in London for our second night but couldn't justify spending the extra money when this stay had cost over £800.

Excellent staff, beautiful decor, and great location. The staff was very welcoming and took care of everything we needed during our stay. Located near Underground and Paddington station. Clean and quiet room.

Clean room but very very small room, bed was good and comfy, no space to move your legs around. We got a room which had no view, some random wall at the back. Good heating both in the room and the bathroom. Hotel has great location and connectivity. Our card was somehow not working, the staff was kind enough to accept cash instead. We stayed for a day and shifted to another hotel only because the room was too too small. But it was value for whatever money we spent.

Booked early to get the best price we could, as it's not super-cheap, but the price did include a very good breakfast. We loved the central location, next to Hyde Park and handy for Oxford Street Christmas shopping. Hotel is a grand building and the room, and beds, were very comfortable.

Just back today 15/12/22 stayed at the hotel for two nights and I was very pleased with the hotel . The room was very clean the staff very friendly and helpful. Could not fault it at all. Nicely situated at Hyde park just back far enough to be quiet. Bus and tube very close. We liked it so much we have booked to go back in March 2023. Highly recommended at a nice price

Friendly staff, clean and warm bedroom with comfortable bed and good tea & coffee making facilities. Great choice of freshly cooked food at breakfast, cereals, fruit, croissants etc. Location only 5 mins from Lancaster Gate Tube and bus services. Hyde Park a couple of minutes walk away

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy with an amazing mezzanine bedroom. Breakfast was easy and very enjoyable. the bar area in like sitting in an old library room and very classy. Recommended.

The service was good. The room was fine. As the hotel was close to London Paddington station and Central London, it was really good value for money. There was a huge choice of both cooked and cold items at breakfast.

We first stayed here in August 2021. I had booked two rooms, one for my wife and I and another for our friends. These rooms were excellent and when I booked again, I received a standard email from the general manager, thanking me for the booking. I replied telling him of our previous stay and hoped that the room would be the same as before. It wasn't, it was so small that we didn't really have enough room for the clothing we had brought for our 3 day stay. I asked at reception if we could move but there were no rooms for that night and they offered to move us the following day. We re-packed that morning and left them to it. On our return that second evening, we went to the new room, only to find it smaller that the one we had vacated! I again returned to reception and after a while they found another room for us. This was exactly the same as the first room we were in, except it was located by the lift doors! If you are only staying one night, then it may be okay for you but any longer, you may find that the small rooms unsuitable. Given that the increase in price over last year is, in my opinion, excessive, how do they justify the price paid? The staff were, at all times, friendly and helpful but really given no autonomy. Breakfast was very good with a full menu to cater for most tastes. Taking into account, the sheer number of other hotels in this and the surrounding area, we will not be staying here a third time.

The room was very small. It had everything I needed but compared to my colleague my room was a lot smaller. There wasn't enough space for the tea and coffee facilities - I found the kettle and what I needed in the cupboard - however I had to make the tea on the floor as there was no room on the main table as there wasn't enough surfaces for everything. I then had to make sure I was really careful boiling the kettle, and then emptied the unused hot water to prevent someone from getting scolded once I had left the room. Its a bit of a health and safety risk. Otherwise it was nice. I had to phone to ask for milk for my tea with my breakfast which was delivered to my room, but the food was nice otherwise. The bed was really comfortable and warm. The fruit and water were a nice touch. There was an iron, ironing board, and hairdryer so it was well equipped, and the shower gel etc were all good quality too.

Close to Hyde Park and a comfortable and convenient base to see all of London. The staff is friendly and optimistic and the featured room is as cozy as it looks in the photos. There are great family-owned restaurants nearby. The hotel and neighborhood are a great escape from the noise and mayhem of the center.

Great location, only a road away from Hyde park and close to tube. Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff on reception and very attentive staff at breakfast. Breakfast was very good. Our room was great, no noise at all and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. Wonderful. Library bar/lobby seating was lovely and welcoming. Terrible service, felt like wanting a drink was a hassle to the staff and it was more like a social club for staff. Bell on bar which we got told of for using, had to wait over 5 minutes for a drink while they chatted. Breakfast was great as was the service. Room was basic with stains over furniture, poor shower. Had better experiences in a basic Premier Inn.

Fantastic location and room. Would not hesitate to stay here again. It was close to the train station, Hyde Park, and bus stops. the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great, exceeded my expectations for a hotel room in London for the price I paid.

The Best Western Mornington Hotel London Hyde Park is my first choice in London. Have stayed there several times, never been disappointed. Perfect location close to Central Line tube station Lancaster Gate and Paddington Station. Walking distance to Oxford Street. Hyde Park just outside the doorstep.Great breakfast buffé. Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Lobby bar where you can meet or work or just relax with a drink. What are you waiting for? Book!

Reception staff were very helpful upon arrival. Room was clean and quiet. Bathroom slightly on the small side, but nothing that created an issue. Breakfast was good, with both hot and cold selections. Would certainly stay again.

We were early for check-in, but they held our bags upon arrival. Then when the room still wasn't ready on time, they gave us a free drink at the bar while we waited. The room itself was plenty big enough for a week stay. We were on the top floor, which helped a lot so that we didn't hear much noise from other rooms. The hot water is HOT. In fact, we could never get very cold water from the tap for drinking, but at least we had plenty of hot water for showers. The breakfast is hearty with a good variety of food. There's a couple of Underground stations nearby for easy access to everything. Overall, it was a great stay.

I recently stayed for 1 night in a queen room, 611. The location of the hotel was superb, almost opposite the stunning, round the corner from bus links and a short walk to Lancaster Gate tube. The good points; - The room was a good size - Plenty of storage - Two big windows - Clean The areas of improvement; - The new shower fittings prevented the ability to lift the shower head up above the chest! - The shower screen didn't open, so had to squeeze between space into shower! - Two of the pillows were a bit flat - The room is next to the stairs door opposite which bangs so loud every time someone goes up and down the stairs Overall, great location and good value

Thanks to a great breakfast and a tip top location I can give this hotel 3 stars. But there was poor cleaning. Had to find the staff at five pm and ask them to clean the room. No auto refill of toilet paper. Had to find staff when the paper was empty. Asked for an extra blanket three times since my kids didn't want to share blanket in the double bed. The fire alarm went on in the middle of the night although no fire. Reception staff didn't find my booking at first. Check in took 20 min?! Breakfast staff very nice and always gave us a smile. They worked hard. Great location of hotel. The reception staff could try to give you a smile now and then.

Great location, close to Paddington Station, Hyde Park, 2 blocks from the underground Lancaster station. This hotel is close to restaurants and shopping yet quietly located 1 block from main streets. The hotel is what I expected for the price and great for a budget in London.

Hotel staff excellent e.g. I queried before booking if they would hold luggage the morning we were due to arrive and within 45 minutes had a friendly e-mail to say yes. A good breakfast buffet. Stayed one night I was going to watch the Queens funeral and hotel rooms were hard to get. Room was clean but very small hardly any ameneties in the room, bit tatty around the edges same as the communal areas. Paid for B & B and was going off very early in the morning so ordered a takeaway breakfast, when I went to collect it they charged me £10 I said I had already paid for breakfast and they said I had to pay an extra £10 and I asked for a refund on my cooked and they said I couldn't have on. The good points is that its 2 minutes away from a tube and Hyde Park. Thats it. Probably on my list of not to visit again.

We spend three nights in September. Room was rather small but with everything one needs. TV, Fridge, Shower, Safe. Not much room to unpack though. Staff very friendly and helpful, Lounge comfy with a bar. Good breakfast buffet.

The room has no amenities. There's no refrigerator in the room or available to keep medications cold. There's no storage to unpack. There was no ice machine or bucket for ice. All this would be ok if the room or hotel had any character. It's white walls with white bedding and a bathroom that makes a cruise ship bathroom look big. The water pressure was so low it took 20 minutes to rinse my hair. London is lovely… this hotel is not up to snuff

Unfortunately the room we stayed in has noisy water pipes, which seemed to have been located above a ceiling panel/grid as you entered our room. Possibly coming from an above room, as / when they shower or flush the toilet. Walking and foot steps can also be heard as happened on our stay each night around 2 am

Stayed here for 4 nights arriving Sunday 7 August 2022. Had stayed three times before, but noted some poor reviews recently. We needn't have worried. As requested, we had two rooms close to each other. We had requested rooms with bath tubs, but didn't get these. Shower was fine, but angle of head meant you couldn't stand directly under it, though it was removable so you could hold it in place. Buffet breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and approachable. Location is excellent. One observation. On this, and previous stays, we've booked and paid for "Executive Rooms". Hotel signage indicates "Executive Rooms" are on first floor -- we've never been given a room on first floor. A puzzle, though rooms for this stay were fine.

Perfect location, comfy bed, helpful staff. Travelling from Melbourne with my two teenagers, their first time to London. They were very impressed with the hotel which looks wonderfully ‘London' with its bright white pillars. Easy walk from Paddington Station and even easier walk to the nearest Tube station.

Reception staff was rude, inconsiderate, did not take into account that we are staying 10 nights, he manager ignored our concerns, rooms are outdated, dirty walls, stains on curtains, wooden floor is cracked, no fridge, the hairdryer is in a closet. Only positive is breakfast and location. For same money, are better hotels on the same street.. Stay away from this place!

Stayed with my family for 3 nights. All staff were amazing. Breakfast was lovely, charming building and a 24h bar. Fast and smooth check in and checkout, exactly what we needed. We will definitely be back and recommend it.

The room was totally substandard and the ceiling in the bathroom leaked, A/C did not work, window would not open, bedside lamp was broken and we had a great view of the airshaft with a noisy central 20 ton HVAC unit buzzing all night. It was really bad.

stayed at the fifth floor, relatively quiet and no issue. lovely room just the right size for one person and always cleaned. friendly staff and zero issues. Only thing to improve is to have hot showers. overall not bad especially during peak travel times.

Overall, the location of this hotel is brilliant. But within the hotel itself, the noise can go to every room especially if you stay in the room near the lift. You can hear people coming in and out all the time. Moreover, I stayed on the 5th floor and the pressure of the water shower was very low and it was annoying.

on arrival was told we had an upgrade room due to hotel having broken air-conditioning, what we got was a basement room with no air-conditioning, none of windows opened, the patrons at the bar across the road looked directly down into our room giving us no privacy. The Room stunk of mold and mildew, there was a dehumidifier in the hallway trying to suck out the smell. Toenail clippings and clumps of dust by the bed, Customer service worse than Faulty Towers!

It was perfect location, a nice quiet area and very close to Hyde park as well as Lancaster Gate tube station which is on the central line. The room was nice with air conditioning, however the floor was a bit dusty when we arrived and after housekeeping we were occasionally missing a towel but when we called reception they quickly brought one up.

Average hotel, with old and dated amenities. This place is in need of improvement and some investment. The only good thing is the location. The staff is friendly but nothing special. I will only go back if I have no choice.

Staff were very helpful and accomodating. Especially Alexandra (possibly Assistant Manager, I think.). Our room was nice and housekeeping was good. Late drinks available at the bar. Breakfast was fine. Air Con worked well in a heatwave. We had help booking taxis and leaving baggage on leaving day. Location was convenient for easy travel. I thought it was good value for the location at Hyde Park next to Lancaster Gate underground, bus route, passing cabs. It did what it says on the tin! What more do you need at that price. We had booked, & paid for this hotel, in March 2022, we arrived at the end of June to a row in the lobby, we approached the reception & we were told our room had been double booked. The couple having the row, said another 6 people had been told the same. They eventually find us another room, in another hotel, it took over an hour for the staff member to find it. The room had broken air conditioning, weeds growing around inside dirty windows, there was a kettle but no cup, tea, coffee or anything to actually make a drink, toilet letting by all the time. Due to the mess up, we were very late for a 'very expensive' hospitality event, & had no time to complain. after a very hot night, a knock on the door at 8.30am, asking us when we were leaving!' We had breakfast which was awful, scrambled eggs had all stuck to the bottom, rubbery bacon, tastless sausages, & baked beans. As we left, they asked us to pay for it even though we had already paid for breakfast to be included at The Mornington. We were told ' as a gesture of goodwill' they wouldn't charge us. It was appalling. we regularly stay in London, and have never had such a terrible customer service experience, or stayed in such a sub standard room. We have given Best Western Mornington, the chance to make this right, they have offered us a 50% discount off our next stay with them. Rest assured, we would never stay with them again. Best Western Customer Services said it is down to individual hotels to deal with complaints

Staff were very casual - both their manner and their dress. No uniforms which was very unusual. There were also times when no staff were available at either the reception or the bar. On arrival we were told there was no room for us and that they were moving us to another hotel 20 minutes away! As we already had family staying in the hotel with whom we were spending the weekend, they "found" us a room. No ice at the bar, no air con in large parts of the hotel, no Baileys at the bar, no receipt possible from the credit card machine. Just shabby. Amongst other items that I ordered at the bar I asked for a Coke. I was just given a can of coke - no glass, no nothing, just a can! Poor. Positives - room was clean with comfy bed and good shower. Decent breakfast and good location.

I was a little concerned about some of the comments from other travelers, but our stay was excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had no problems at check in, the location is excellent and the breakfast is very good. The room is not big, but ok. In short, nothing to complain about and excellent value for money.

Rude staff and false promises- air conditioning does not work and they will try to get you to another hotel sight unseen. After a very long day of international travel in a historic heat wave, I had to move to another hotel. Book at your peril.

I loved the location, very close to Hyde Park and to several stops of metro and busses. It is an elegant neighborhood, with all these white elegant buildings. The lobby is beautiful but during my stay it was too hot so it was impossible to spend some time in there. The single room was very small and a bit dark, but it was ok for one night! Besides, the WiFi was very good! I loved the breakfast, many different options. There is a small business center next to the breakfast room where I could work during the morning after the checkout. It is basically a only desk, and I was lucky that no one else needed it that morning. Overall a good experience

Having read some previous bad reviews we were a bit dubious about our stay, but I'm glad to say we were pleasantly surprised. The reception staff were lovely and held our luggage for us prior to check in while we were at a matinee. Check in was easy, our room was a bit small but clean, comfortable and the air con was lovely. The breakfast was really great - loads of choice and all delicious. The only faults were that our shower was super-hot and we couldn't adjust it. We only realised this close to departure so didn't report it until we were checking out. The other things to note was, no body lotion. That's the only issues we had. Don't be put off by the negative reviews. I'm glad we weren't and would definitely stay there again.

I am really getting angry with the service I have received from your hotel; I spoke with 2 hotel receptionists, I left a review with my issue, and sent emails with my issue. Have I just been ignored! we paid in full for this stay, travelled from Denmark to arrive and get told they have no rooms. we got but into the sister hotel which was a building site! so bad. We are awaiting a refund for our first-day stay and breakfast. The room was also not what we booked... we were meant to get our refund 5 days after..... this was 16th June. ... its 12th July

My stay was in fact not the best and certainly not up to the usual standard I have come to expect from Best Western hotels. As I made clear on checkout, I had a number of issues with my room during my stay. The air conditioning in my room wasn't working. It was 10:30pm at night when I realised it wasn't working so it was too late for me to go to reception and try and resolve it. I then found out at 5:10am that my room was situated next to the fitness centre... which was why I was woken up by the thudding of the treadmill and clanging of gym equipment. Not great when I have a huge issue to resolve at work that day. I raised these issues with reception at check out and I was merely greeted with a feeble apology but it was clear they didn't really care. I also got an automated email from the general manager to which I replied with my issues and never got a reply. £172 for a sing bed in a room that has barely enough room to move, awful hot and sticky nights sleep woken early by the sound of banging from the gym. No reply from the manager in a week so posting my review.

This is never a 4* hotel. Room is tiny and very basic. I think we are sleeping in the broom cupboard. We had a bigger room on our last cruise. Typical London hotel. Spend all the money on reception area then plaster the website with photos from there

We have stayed at the Mornington Hyde Park on numerous occasions in the last 5 years for easy access to Hyde Park, on this occasion the BST festival. Friday 24th June The check in was chaotic, lots of groups waiting to check in and rooms not readily available. We were told the room we had booked wouldn't be ready until 6:30 at least, but we could have a smaller room. We were given complimentary drinks for our inconvenience, as were everyone in the bar, this issue was throughout the afternoon and evening, we heard the same story of rooms not being ready and that there were errors in their reservation systems by many. The next issue was previously I had booked an additional night at the Mornington by ringing direct, to add on Sunday 26th. I spoke to Antonio who I explained to that I was stopping the Sat and Sunday and would like to add on an additional night. I confirmed that we wouldn't have to swap rooms, he said he could see my reservation that we would be able to stay in the same room. I then had a link sent over by email to pay I once again confirmed no moving rooms on email. (The reason for no changing rooms was it was our wedding anniversary and we had reservations etc…so didn't want to mess about). I'm at reception and there is no reservation for the Sunday it's at their Victoria hotel. I had no idea there was another hotel and I accept that is my mistake, however you can see my confusion when it's been confirmed they can see my reservation and there were no issues. I am then told they will book us in on the Sunday in Hyde Park. They then contact us to say they cannot. But they will arrange a late check out early check in so no issues. The next issue. That night, we came back from the concert to find the bedding that had been put on was very damp, almost wet, I put a towel over and went to sleep I'd had enough at this point. Sat 25th June Breakfast was aptly describe by others as the “hunger games”. Again chaos! Not enough food, tables full, enough staff but no organisation. Many walked out opting to get refunds! Sunday morning we check out at 12, we were told told that at the Victoria we could check in early so no issues. We arrive at the Victoria Mornington to be told that the room wasn't ready come back in 2 hours. Nearly 2 hours later we came back and it was ready. We then were put in a tiny basement room not the Suite upgrade as promised, or again the executive that we'd paid for. This was a trip for our wedding anniversary - it really wasn't great! I have spoken to the manager Byron Wilson tonight who asked me “how would I like him to resolve the issue…..” Make no mistake he was disinterested, uncaring and tbh fully aware of the issues and couldn't care less. I have asked for the difference in room price and my taxi fare. This was a small gesture, and to be honest the way someone resolves a problem will always determine my final feelings on somewhere. He said I could have the difference in room price £5? (How that is the case I don't know- or care) and he wouldn't pay the taxi. He asked me if there was anything else? There was, the most basic fundamental thing that could have helped that was failed to be done by most was “we're sorry”. The hotel didn't have the excuse of no staff, it had the issue of poor management and lack of leadership. Leadership comes from the top and now I understand why there are issues. I wont be returning, I would seriously suggest others think twice.

It's difficult to find a hotel like this that is affordable in the heart of London. We were pleasantly surprised by all aspects of this hotel. Right at Hyde Park with restaurants, pubs, bakeries, tube stops, bus stops etc all very close by. It's also very walkable to many of the attractions of London. Wonderful place from which to explore London!

What a lacklustre experience! The room was tiny with barely enough room to move around the bed, the sink was blocked, the toilet didn't flush properly, the shower bracket was broken and fell apart and worst of all the space was dirty and we found a previous guest long blonde hair through out the room as well as grit in the bed. The hotel staff didn't help either and seemed completely disinterested in their work and the guests. Go stay somewhere else. This property is not worth your time or money and it most definitely is not 4 star!

My room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Complimentary tea and biscuits were great after a day of sightseeing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some of the reviews I read had me a little anxious, but none of the negative comments matched my experience at the hotel. A mini fridge and chest of drawers would have been nice considering the length of my stay, but would definitely stay again. Located near three Tube stations and bus stops so getting around on public transport was a breeze. Just around the corner from Kensington Gardens so that was a pleasure.

This a great hotel reasonably priced and the service was excellent. This hotel is close to many attractions and is walking distance to Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace. There are several nice restaurants located nearby.

Perfect location, excellent staff, lovely neighborhood, breakfast was better than expected. This was the most beautiful Best Western I've ever seen. I would highly recommend them and hope to stay again myself. Hyde Park is just across the street and was a beautiful walk.

We booked executive ended up in the basement all plugs only floor level so to plug in kettle or phone had to be on the floor moved to 3rd floor this room had a out look of three walls with ventilation pipes and smelled

We have booked to stay in this hotel in July 2022. We booked through Booking.com and were told on the booking confirmation that no money would be paid for the visit until 48 hrs before our stay & held I assume as a deposit. Imagine my surprise when today I noticed on my bank account that the 1st nights stay in excess of £200 has just been removed from our account without any notice or communication. On ringing the hotel I was told by the Manager that this is the hotels policy and to take this up with Booking.com if I didn't like it. Overall the Manager was condescending, inflexible & I got the feeling that she didn't care if I cancelled the stay. Customer service appeared very far from her priorities. More to the point please beware if you book through a 3rd party for this hotel. With 2 months to go expect a large amount of money to be removed from your bank account without warning & totally unapologetically, hiding behind the repeated phrase " Its Company policy" After this visit I will certainly avoiding Best Western hotels in future. And this is before I even stay here!!!!

Booked this trip in November 2021 for my wife's birthday, but when we checked in on 1st May 2022 there was no room left, the best they could offer was 2 single rooms. My wife isn't very well and I am her carer, so this was totally unsatisfactory

De girl at the reception would not let me check in while I already had paid for my full stay. She claimt that I was supposed to have a credit card which was nowhere mentioned while booking the room. She simply wanted to send me away at 9.30PM after a long day of travelling. She claimt that it was mentioned in the booking and that I should check my booking. Instead of contacting the general manager herself, she told me she could give me his number and that I could call him myself. As I had to do her job for her. I dont believe they understand the way a guest is being received effects the total stay a lot! Such little respect she showed to one of the people that is actually paying her wages. Scandalous! I tried to contact the hotel several times weeks before my arrival with a few inquiries. Never have I received a reply. The room itself wasnt properly vacuumed upon arrival so I had to ask for that. Also stains on curtains, towels and bedlight was not working. Its the least you are allowed to expect that the room had been cleaned properly.

I've probably stayed here about 10-15 times, so that should say it all :) Lovely location, off the main road but just a few minutes away from Lancaster Tube station and bus stop (and about 10 from Paddington) and of course just a hop away from Hyde Park.

The staff has been exceptional. A huge shoutout to Roksa, Iona and Alexandra from the reception and Paola, Silvia, Barbara and Natalie from housekeeping. Upon arrival, the check-in was quick, effortless and the room was very well cleaned and laid out. I suffer from severe arachnophobia and being in London my concerns were evident. The staff went out of their way to take this into consideration, and were constantly checking on me to see if everything was fine. The hotel is quite comfy, a stone's throw from Hyde Park and Lancaster gate tube station as well as bus stations. There are plenty of restaurants and groceries at walking distance. Overall the experience has been so wonderful that I extended my trip by a day just to be here longer. Though prices may get a bit steep during tourist season, I found the best rates via the hotel website. In conclusion, a great stay here and I would once again credit the staff for being simply outstanding!

This review is largely based on my experience with an inconsiderate and unprofessional staff member I encountered. I wish I had caught her name, but she checked me in and checked me out. At the time of check-in, she informed me that my booking included complimentary breakfast; however, I was slapped with a bill for breakfast upon checking out. When I mentioned what she — the same individual — had apprised me of at the time of check-in (that breakfast was included), she denied ever saying that and humiliated me in front of other guests. I would never fabricate something like that; I am an honest person and know what I heard. Her unprofessionalism and attitude is reason alone to never stay at this hotel. There are plenty of other great places to stay in London, a city I frequent quite often.

Great hotel very friendly staff and helpful. Perfect location close to Paddington Station easy access to the underground.very close to kensington Park and Hyde Park.breakfast set us up for the day.only down side was the bed not the most comfy but ok for a couple of nights.

We had a great time at Best Western Mornington. Staff was very helpful and service minded when we needed something. The room was clean and had what we needed. The hotel is located in a nice area near Hyde Park.

Had an unexpected extended stay at this hotel. Had problems with room phone when I needed to rebook our flights. Amir at the front desk came through with an alternative means of contacting the airline. Went about and beyond. Hotel is clean, staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning offers a wide variety to choose from. If we were to return to London, this would be our first choice. Hotel is conveniently looked near Hyde Park and a little over a block to the Lancaster Gate tube station. It's also within easy walking distance of Paddington Station.

Amazing location just above Hyde Park & super close to metro! Booked a cool 2 level room so my 17 year old could sleep with some separation from us. Sadly we weren't given that room. The “Anna Delvy” looking young lady working the front desk explained by saying “they are the same category as the small room you're in”!?!?! What does that even mean? We ended up in a room that would have been small for two of us, let alone three. At least it was right beside the elevator and stairs so we could hear everything going on & we didn't waste any time sleeping! She was also the one who said - with zero concern - they had no UK charger to lend me for the first night before I could go buy one. Like ZERO concern. Also had to go to her the second day when we couldn't get any cold water. The tap instantly came out very hot. Her response. “It's an old building. Run it for 15 minutes and it will get cold”!?!?? I kid you not. Man, we loved London but will stay anywhere but here when we return.

Great hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff. Great location 5 minute walk to Paddington station and Hyde park/Kensington park. Will stay again for my next visit. Bed not the most comfortable but ok for a couple nights

Upon leaving the property we realised we had left an apple product in the room. We contacted the hotel via phone within 30mins of checking out and they advised that they would check with housekeeping. They did not return our call. We called an additional 3 times to be told that housekeeping could not locate the missing item even though we know we left it on the desk in the room and the apple app showed the item as still being at the address 7 hours after we checked out. On each occasion we phoned we were informed we would be called back, this did not happen once.

Wish I'd read previous bad reviews! checked in early evening, went out for a lovely evening and returned to hotel to be told we hadn't checked in, after convincing the reception we'd signed in earlier she found our paperwork and credit card details but my room card had been cleared. Was suspicious when a bowl of fruit and envelope addressed to someone else had been left in the room. Another complaint about a missing piece of property now in the hands of Best Western as management not interested

This hotel has a great location, we had a lovely quiet room, good big bed, excellent breakfast and the staff were very helpful staff. We would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel as a base for a day or two in London

Had booked one night at the hotel. We arrived early and were told our room wasn't ready yet (which is understandable, seeing as check-in was supposed to be at 2pm). So we checked in and left our luggage at the hotel, before going out exploring the city. When we arrived back at the hotel in the afternoon we were told our room wouldn't be ready for another hour (8h30 pm), which I pointed out couldn't be the case as we had already checked in and I received an e-mail confirming our room number several hours earlier. Turns out they had overbooked and given away our (prepaid) room. Trying to sort out the situation the staff (especially the manager) were extremely unpleasant and unapologetic, and refused to give us any discount or refund for the inconvenience. Also, when we finally got the room (basically just to sleep in), it smelled like old sushi. Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone

They over booked our rooms, so when we arrived we didn't have a hotel room to stay in. Please don't book with this hotel - they've ruined our weekend away and made us miss our reservations. Unhelpful service and acted as if we were being a pain. Zero stars if I could

Not only is this hotel wonderfully situated it is overseen by the most impressive team of staff I have ever encountered at a London Hotel. They genuinely care about their work and the way they treat their guests. The hotel is very clean and the rooms well appointed and comfortable. I couldn't fault any aspect of my stay at all, I just wish we could have stayed longer. Rest assured I won't now stay at another London Hotel!

Problem with having no roomkeys, but the staff was very helpful and compensated in other ways. I wish I could remember this one guy's name, he was so nice and helpful! Good breakfast and internet. A bit thin walls, so there was some noise.

Be careful with your reservation! They can be overbooked and send you to another hotel (not the same price range). I did my reservation one week (a single bedroom) before and when I arrived i was told i have to go to another hotel across the street. This was not a happy experience after 7 hours of flight… They apologized with an upgrade of the room. Regardless of all these, they have nice employees, excellent breakfast and a great location (across hyde park).

I stayed 7 nights at this hotel. I had to change the room from 5th floor to 3rd floor which was in lower level and probably cheaper than the one I reserved because the water pressure was very low. I asked for a twin room but I got double bed. They were supposed to separate them but never did. There was no cold water and it made it very difficult to shower. I had to ask the reception to send someone to remove the garbage and bring toilet paper. They didn't clean the room every day. Towels were missing. Denis from dinning room was very friendly and also the reception staff and they always tried to help. The beds were very comfortable. This was the second time I stayed here, but it was disappointing this time.

Excellent hotel in central london, room was great with everything you need, very clean. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great, short walk to key attractions or tube station close by.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Nice clean and tidy room and bathroom. The shower pressure could've been a bit more stronger though. It's also good to have a open bar 247. Lovely breakfast with good selection and nice staff.

This hidden treasure is located just by the Lancaster Gate tube station, only 2 minutes away from Hyde Park too, so it was extremely convenient. Then the check in process was also perfect. The room was pretty good for a basic single bed, very clean and fully loaded. The reception staff were very very nice during the entire check in/out processes. Also, as a curiosity, the hotel bar is decorated like a beautiful library.

Hotel is very convenient for Lancaster Gate Tube, and 5 minutes into Hyde Park. Parking is a problem, but found a convenient spot at Thistle Hotel, about 170yards from hotel, and reasonably priced, can be booked through Your Parking Space.com.

Delighted with my stay. It was in a lovely location and could just nip out for a walk around the Italian Gardens in Kensington Gardens. The room was pleasant and clean. Staff were delightful and helpful. Great value for money. Will stay again.

Been a regular at this hotel... Came here on the weekend 22/01/2022 to 24/01/2022 Many new staff faces...... However It was great to see Junior again at the hotel. Junior is such an exceptional member of the team, always polite,courteous and extremley helpful. Will defiantly return beacuse of the professionalism shown by Junior.

I have stayed here a few times over the years and it still remains one of my favourite hotels. We got a good deal for two nights bed & breakfast. Room lovely and spacious - breakfast delicious! The staff are all lovely and very helpful. I look forward to my next visit!

Stayed 1-3 Jan. Lovely hotel, room small but had everything we needed. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location with parks, cafes and pubs close by. Also close to Paddington station and the Lancaster gate tube station.

This hotel is in a great place, away from the hustle and bustle but within walking distance of anywhere you would want to see and the breakfast was adequate. An old building with very tasteful decor in public areas. Sadly the reception staff were too busy on their mobiles to check us in whilst their colleague was helping out a guy who didn't speak great English. After about 15 minutes, the girl behind the desk decided to put her phone down and assist us. We had booked an "executive Queen room" but what we were given was anything but. it was a crumby little room with 2 single beds pushed together both with single bed linen on. Sadly my wife is not a complainer and requested that we put up with it as we were only there 2 nights and she just wanted a lovely time away for her birthday. I picked an unfortunate time to agree with her as normally I would have kicked off. We went out for a pleasant evening before returning to the room. When getting into bed I put my foot through a massive hole in the duvet cover and turned the light on see what I had done. Not only was the cover ripped but it was also stained. Room 309 is next to a lift shaft and is not the quietest room in the hotel. To cut a long story short, after 2 nights of very little sleep due to uncomfortable beds and noises, we came home shattered. I have since emailed Byron Wilson, General Manager, but some 3 months later and he still doesn't have the courtesy to reply. Sadly his staff have this to follow as an example.

We received an unprofessional and generally rude ‘email' after leaving a review on here. As a company you should be able to take and respond correctly to criticism. Thus, this means not responding to guests who felt that their room did not meet their expectations in an arsey manner. Very unprofessional. Nails should not be hanging out of walls. Learn to take criticism correctly.

I would like to say that arriving to the hotel it was very pleasant with a beautiful Christmas tree and nice music playing in the background, we arrived early about 12 and our room wasn't ready until 2pm but the receptionist was able to take our bags off us so that we could come back later. Unfortunately, when we returned at 2pm to get our key and head up to the room was when I noticed the problems. Firstly, stated in the description of the room it states “1 double bed” this was not the case at all! It was 2 single beds pushed together with not even a double quilt as it was two single quilts aswell! So I was completely mis sold this room as me and my partner slept in separate beds with separate quilts which in my opinion is disgraceful and unacceptable when it is specifically stated that it's a double bed (see pictures attached) Looking at all the pictures online for the executive double rooms they all also have a side table and lamp on both sides was this what we had in our room? Definitely not! there was only a table and a lamp 1 side which made it even more clear that this room was mis sold to us as this is the same as the twin room and the table and lamp have just been moved round the side and the beds pushed together which is disgusting and shouldn't be publicised as a double room (see pictures attached) Secondly, I tried to run a bath and we had no cold water whatsoever! Even the tap was hot! When calling reception to ask what the problem was I was told to just wait a minute and turn the tap on as if I was stupid. In the end I had to leave the tap running for around 15minutes before eventually cold water started coming out. Thirdly, the towel radiator in the bathroom was scalding hot 24/7 and there was no way to turn it down. This resulted in me burning the back of my leg when getting out of the bath as the whole bathroom was so tiny you couldn't not brush past it to get in and out of the bath. The description states “city view” I have no words to describe how shocking the view was but I will attach a picture so you can make that assumption. 11:30pm at night there was a couple screaming and shouting at each other using foul language and banging on the doors in the hallway which woke us up and actually gave us a fright as the guy sounded extremely angry. From then on I was very anxious as it had kicked off my anxiety and ended up waking up every hour of the night hearing loud noises here and there from the rooms all around us. In conclusion I am so very disappointed in this hotel. As stated I was completely mis sold a room and it's totally unacceptable along with all the other problems I have mentioned. After expressing my concerns to the management team they haven't tried to help in the slightest!

Awful hotel and manager, paid for a executive room with queen bed, got a small room with a double bed and missing half of the extras advertised on Hotels.com. complained and hotel refused to sort out. Building works also being done on property which I was not made aware of before my stay, I walked into.my room and saw one of the builders on scaffolding standing right outside my window just starting and smiling at me followed by them talking a swearing loudly whilst they work. Would not recommend!

Booked 2 rooms for an adult and child in each room, arrived at 11.30pm as had a lot of traffic traveling to London, we phoned about 7pm to explain this and to discuss parking and our rooms. Arrived at Hotel to be told there were No Rooms for us, we were told there was a crash in their system, and basically all that could be offered was to go across the road and pay for more rooms again....and everything will be sorted. Had an email from Booking.com saying there was a credit for approx. half the money so When we checked out of the new hotel, we returned to your hotel to sort out at about 10am on the Sunday, where we were told that there was no manager on duty until 3pm to sort this out. We were promised phone calls at 3pm, but no luck and eventually about 5pm someone phoned and explained that previous guests had trashed the rooms (a different story to what we were told when we arrived - they just kept making stuff up) and after having to provide evidence of booking we have been told a credit is on its way. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told we would be given cash for the difference in costs of the hotel and some compensation as this service was disgusting, being stuck in London at 11.30pm at night with 2 kids, as a hotel you should be ashamed. And all we get is the offer of a discount if we wanted to book with them again...do you really believe we would want to risk entering your shambles of a hotel again.

Stayed here because it was so close to Winter Wonderland but except for the decent location this hotel is definitely not worth the £100+ you pay a night. Very small rooms, cracks painted over, parts of window falling off with an exposed nail, overly creaky floor and dust everywhere. Key card also stopped working after day 1 and saying the hotel/ facilities were outdated is a understatement as the lift was slow and hugely cramped. Don't even mention the paper thin walls where you could hear everyone's conversations. Disappointing as had such high hopes

Stayed for 3 nights. Great location, very quiet. Slept well. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends...shower pressure was a pathetic dribble, stained bed sheets, towels with holes in, tired/stained chairs, and customer service was a bit lacking. Very over-powering, headache-inducing scent in the room from wet runners at end of bed. When we gave them to reception, the receptionist defensively said "it's the room freshener! What's wrong with it?". We also had 2 single duvets for a double bed, asked for a double duvet and was met with "but why do you want that?“ from reception, only for them then to say that they didn't have any double duvets left.

If your travel is impacted due to Covid, forget about getting any sympathy from current management. Originally booked a room last year and when my travel was impacted they gave me a voucher even though the room was non-refundable. Fast forward to now, this hotel manager left and the new people show zero understanding and not willing to offer any help by extending this voucher's validity, even though there were unexpected measures announced last minute for all travelers to UK. They were also ignoring my emails until I left a review at another site, after which I got a response immediately. They only care about the appearance and maximizing revenue, but not the customer.

Hotel was in an excellent location, extremely clean and was great value for money. Rooms clean and modern and staff very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent with a choice for everyone. Would definitely recommend.

All in all a very comfortable hotel. No frills, comfortable bed, warm, quiet room. Very convenient to the west end. Walkable from most places. Adjacent to Hyde Park and at this time of year the Winter Wonderland. The breakfast is superb, freshly cooked full English options and a wide variety of continental choices. If I have a gripe it was the fact that (and I understand the issues of working with C19) housekeeping could have been better. Nothing to criticise directly, perhaps a little attention to detail only. We will return. Staff without exception were very nice, welcoming and accommodating.

The Hotel was very cute and clean! We had a good Time. The hotel employees were a Little bit overstrained, But it was Not that bad! The room was good, big, clean and warm! The breakfast very good and the Service at the Restaurant, too!

The rooms were nice and clean, the beds are comfy, it's a two minute walk to Hyde Park and Lancaster gate station, the breakfast had a good variety, and the staff were really friendly and even let us check in early. Really good value for money

This Hotel is located in a fantastic location, near The underground, Hyde park and the many restaurants around Paddington. The room was cleaned only upon request and the staff at the reception seemed unwilling t work. it's a real pity because the Hotel is nice, newly renovated, the breakfast is good but staff and cleanliness should be bettered.

Lovely quiet hotel we booked a executive double room and was surprised to find two levels a cosy sitting area and bathroom then upstairs a huge bedroom great self serve breakfast, staff were brilliant will definitely be back

Very overpriced for an extremely small and noisy room. Breakfast was decent as was the location but not enough to save the stay. Phone wasn't working in the room. I complained about the room as I paid for an upgraded room from the budget option. They just showed me a slight more terrible room so I stuck it out I will not go back

The staff really do ensure your stay has every need met. Our room was clean, quite and comfortable. The location is excellent with an underground station within short walking distance. We will definitely stay here again, during our next visit to London.

Went to check in, asking if they had a room with a bath (for my partner) The receptionist found us a room, but failed to point out that it was a miniscule room and not a executive double that we had booked. We went to the room to discover a standard double bed that was enclosed on three sides - you couldn't walk around it. The floor space was so cramped in the room and the bath/bathroom was tiny. We returned straight back to reception only to be informed that our original room had been let. No other rooms available. Strangely enough after about 20 mins they found us a larger room (with shower) much better but had really strong smell of paint - explains why the air con was on in late November. We were too tired to mess around anymore. Reception staff polite but unhelpful. Would not return. Not an inexpensive hotel. So not worth it.

Purchased a room with breakfast, there was a cheaper option without. Email arrived with no mention of breakfast so emailed the hotel and had no response. Turned up and was told there was nothing the hotel could do about it and to contact booking.com who could not careless. I had screenshots of the booking with breakfast included but that wasn't "proof". They offered me 50% to purchase again which was insulting as I had already paid an extra cost for the breakfast. The hotel say not to book via booking.com and to book direct as booking.com does this "all the time". Byron (manager) shrugged his shoulders and kept saying it wasn't there fault and to deal with booking.com. This is totally unacceptable, the hotel choses to put rooms on this site so should resolve issues.

Front desk was lovely but the room was in a terrible state. The desk was partially wiped around the parameters. I could tell by the wet marks. Multiple towels had yellow stains on them. The end of the bed had black stains on them. There was hair on the chair when I checked in. Everything in the room was old.

Spoke originally to Byron the general manager of the hotel to book a special room for a milestone birthday and ruby wedding anniversary wedding celebration, in a location so that we could attend a michelen star restaurant. Location was excellent, but unfortunately thats where the positive comments ended. We were allocated room 301 which was advertised as an executive double room. it was a compact room at best, 9 inches between the end of the bed and wall, absolutely know room to move around the room. At reception my wife asked whether the cold water in the room was drinking water for medication and was told yes, the was not any cold water in the room, all ran hot. We spoke to reception prior to going for a walk in the afternoon to report the water situation, only 1 small bottle of shower gel and shampoo for 4 showers, and 1 towel, we were told all would be rectified upon return. Three hours later nothing had been rectified. We again spoke to reception, apparently the lack of cold water was a known problem, we asked for bottle water, the hotel didn't have any, we insisted that they purchased some from a shop. Reception did return with water, an extra towel,.and shower gel.

This hotel was clean and comfortable and we had no real cause for complaint. Unfortunately we found the reception to be cold and lacking welcome, both in design and staff attitude. The laminate flooring in the bedrooms was not a good muffler of sound, so high heels in the room above were unfortunate. But most uncomfortable was the large, uncurtained window located beside the shower, facing the front of the building. Yes, the glass was frosted, but the shere expanse of glass made us feel very uncomfortable, especially when the light was needed. The wide shelf beneath this window did not drain, so water simply gathered on it.

Recently stayed at The Mornington with my wife and had a lovely time. Hotel location is fabulous, next to Hyde Park and so close to the underground great for exploring. Hotel itself is friendly, tastefully decorated and our room was perfect. All staff were so helpful and with such a great selection at breakfast we really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful entrance area and welcoming staff. Room was fabulous and quaint being in two levels. Just a 3 min walk to the stunning Hyde park. Breakfast room was beautifully decorated with a super range of food available. Byron and his team should feel extremely proud of their service.

Perfect location if you need to stay in the city centre. Lancaster Gate station is just round the corner. The room had everything and was clean. The mattress was good and we had a good night of sleep.

Good area to stay, not far from Lancaster gate tube, quite area, lovely staff, lots to choose at breakfast. Anywhere is easily accessible either, walking, tube, bus or taxis. Hyde park just across the road. Really could not ask for more in London, would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

The hotel was perfect. Clean, lovely people, great location. Will definitely recommend and stay there again. We were given a double room but booked a twin, it was sorted with 15 minutes. Not problem. Close to Lancaster Gate tube station. Hyde Park, Marble Arch and the centre of London. Perfect location.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Best Western Mornington Hotel.I was anticipating something bland and functional, but was met with delightful and friendly staff on reception, and a hotel with a bit of character. I was given a better room than I expected, which was extermely quiet, the bed very comfortable, and we had a very good night's sleep. The reception and bar area are nicely furnished, and the bar, decorated with a library of books, feels relaxed and friendly. It is extremely well situated for Hyde Park, and public transport. Would happily make a return trip.

It makes such a difference to have smiling, helpful and friendly people on Reception and about the hotel. This was my first time at a Best Western and I had thought the chain were business hotels or somewhere to stay as a last resort. The Best Western Mornington Hotel in Hyde Park changed my mind. It was stylishly decorated, with a bar/library area where people read the papers or chatted over a drink if they wanted. There was a relaxed atmosphere while at the same time it was professional and smart. The location couldn't have been better - access to everywhere in London via nearby bus stops, Lancaster Gate Tube station (Central Line) and of course, only Hyde Park in under two minutes.

Our stay was comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Cosy doubles mean you have to climb over bed to get to the other side or squeeze by the end of the bed. Room was clean and we had the choice if we wanted it cleaned during our stay. Only bugbear there were no hand towels in the room, even when I asked, as there was a notice in the bathroom relating to hand towels and bath towels. I don't know whether this was Covid related .

Ive just stayed 2 nights (1st and 3rd of September) in the executive double room. After reading a couple of slightly negative reviews I was a bit nervous about my stay, but I definitely did not need to be! The first room I stayed in was two floors, with a small living area below the bedroom. Comfiest bed, lovely and clean, tea and coffee with kettle. Second room I was upgraded to an even better room! Absolutely stunning, super clean and comfortable, I really couldn't have asked for more and I'm a very fussy person who has travelled alot! The staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly, both times reception rang to check how my room was and if I needed the temperature of the room adjusting. They even let me store my bags for me when my room wasn't ready. The breakfast girls were so lovely, and as someone who is gluten free (wheat) and lactose intolerant, I was surprised when they brought my soya milk and gf bread. The second stay the girl even remembered me and brought everything to my table! I ate the full English, gf toast, orange juice and coffee (which they come and top up). A huge array of different foods including croissant, cereal, cooked food and cold meats and cheese. The location is fab! Literally right across the road from Hyde park, so evening walks were so enjoyable, something I wouldn't have done being in other locations. Lancaster gate station is about 5 minutes walk and Paddington about 10. Further down the road you'll find cafes, restaurants,pubs and shops including a Tesco and Sainsbury's. I'll always choose to stay next to Hyde park now. Overall I had an amazing stay, I actually tried booking again for the Halloween weekend but unfortunately for me, it was already fully booked. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed for my partners birthday, could not be happier with this hotel. The location is incredible (right on Hyde Park, very short walk to Lancaster Gate tube station) which meant we got to make the most of what London has to offer without long travel times. The staff were incredibly attentive, the breakfast service was great and the bed is one of the comfiest we have had in any hotel we've stayed in. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will definitely be back!

I booked this hotel instead of our usual one, as the staff that I had built up a relationship with, over the years were no longer working there. This was on a "special" 3 for 2 and I also booked a room for friends of ours who were celebrating there anniversary. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a welcoming reception team. We will most certainly book again for the next time we go.

The Mornington Hotels are lovely. Book on their website. A single room is £44 and a double is £51. Breakfast included. Agoda and booking.com are more expensive. Unfortunately I found this out too late. The Mornington Hotel in a Pimlico is by far the best. Staff have changed but that vibe is very good. The Hyde Park Hotel was abit weird. I did see a woman reduced to tears as she didn't have a card on her to take for a deposit for the room. Obviously a natural instinct is to then assist her. Check with a manager cna we honour her booking in some way. She was a mother maybe late 40's I don't think to judge, someone to cause any trouble. I was more troubled by the dismissal of her from the reception staff. 'next please' as I was behind her. It's not normal to see a grown woman breaking down in tears and the handling of it was awful. I massively respect the general manager at this hotel but I think he knows the friendliness and levels of skill in hospitality are weak. Luckily my Pimlico experience was absolutely exceptional and I was always taken care of. Often popping 20 pound notes in receptions hands because they always greeted me so well. Ill be honest. I am disturbed from what I've seen here from the women at reception. I was spoken too unforgiveably from the male member of staff when I came to report in house of smoking weed. This isn't a power trip nor a game. It's a basic 4 star hotel. More like a 3 to be honest. You will be woken by staff complaining of doing their jobs. I felt so bad for the cleaning team here who have a reception team encouraging you to drop your wet dirty towels during corona virus outside of your room for collection. The house keeping work in shifts. Some start at 4pm and I have seen them work untill 10pm. It's amazing as house keeping always starts early and finishes mid afternoon. You will see dirty laundry dumped on floor one. Unhygienic and a risk with everything happening now. It's not a hotel to stress over, the staff won't make you feel comfortable and you'll see people asleep in the foye. Theres no desire to help in this hotel. It is clear for someone like me with years of experience in this industry that so much weight must fall on the GMS shoulders with his name and mobile number on every card given with a key. Please remember that if you need some real assistance. Friendliness and kindness cost nothing but the front of house staff here are amongst the most disgusting I've seen. I wish for this to be internalised logically and not personally. A woman was reduced to tears by a member of staff from how she spoke to her and I was aggressively spoken too. It is a matter of time before police attend this hotel. 

Date of stay: 25th August 2021 (1 night) Room type: single room Price: £75 Overall experience: more poor than great. Positives about this hotel: 1) The entrance of the hotel is appealing. It gives a good first impression. The majority was clean, tidy and well maintained - particularly those communal areas. Though some aspects of my room were not up to standard. 2) The hotel is situated in a great location next to Hyde Park - less than 5 minutes to Lancaster Gate tube station. This gives easy access to all central London locations. 3) The breakfast buffet was perfect - it offered a large selection of items, from fruits, to yoghurts, cereals to a full cooked-to-order English breakfast. It also offered a continental breakfast of mixed cheeses and meats etc. 4) The staff were friendly (if not always attentive). 5) The room size was pretty decent given it was a single room I had booked. 6) My room had a nice view (over some other hotels I've stayed at!) Negatives about this hotel: 1) The noise - absolutely terrible. The person in the next room to me was banging loudly, slamming doors etc from about 10:30pm to midnight, after which it quietened down until about 5am when it all started again. I suffer from social anxiety disorder and dislike confrontation and so chose to try and ignore it as best I could, though it was infuriating news Reluctantly, I went to reception at about 5:30am to express how disappointed I was after having the worst sleep ever to be told “well, you should have told us sooner”. I don't feel that guests should be put in the awkward position of complaining about the behaviour of other people - particularly when such situations are particularly anxious. There was certainly no empathy or consideration. Does no one do a walk around of the hotel? Then you'd have heard it for yourselves. I like to think I'm not an unreasonable person and I expect a bit of noise at a hotel due to the number of people coming and going but at some points I actually wondered if it was intentional. 2) Whilst it was great to have an air conditioning unit, it was very loud. Definitely too loud for keeping on when trying to sleep. But worse, when it was turned off completely, it did an even louder beeping noise every 5/10 minutes or so which lasted about 10 seconds each time. It woke me up at least 3 times when I'd already had the bare minimum sleep already! 3) Some room uncleanliness - whilst my room generally was OK, some aspects were bad. The shower cubicle glass was filthy (see picture). Don't try to tell me that happens from just a single shower! On the bed was 2 pillows (so thin, they were pretty much useless) and a cushion. As the cushion was much thicker, I lay my head on that and instantly regretted it as it smelled absolutely terrible. It's clear that it is never washed! It knocked me sick! Some of the bedding was also crumpled without any real care. There was a complete lack of attention to detail to the rooms as there appears to be for the communal areas. 4) Upon checking out to a new concierge (where I again waited for at least 5 minutes before someone has the decency to attend to me), I was asked if I had a pleasant stay. When I said I hadn't and was more tired now than when I arrived and explained the reasons I was simply told “OK, I will leave a note”. How is that helpful to me???? Overall: Great location, decent breakfast, terrible stay. Hotel is OK as a last resort. But I most definitely wouldn't stay again. Staff definitely couldn't care less about your experience or trying to offer a pleasant stay!

Excellent hotel, outstanding staff and couldn't be better located in London. The room was big, clean and the bed was of the best quality. The library on the ground floor with a brilliant pub was like the punch line of a great visit. Will be back, for sure …

We stayed in this small but nice hotel for three nights in late July. We arrived on Saturday, the two ladies at reception were very helpful. I believe their names were Sylvia and Angelina (management, take note!). One of the things they were very helpful with was when we asked for a USB outlet, they gave us an adaptor. We didn't have our chargers with us (who carries those now, you expect a USB wall outlet, another note for management!) There were four of us (well two and three quarters!), me, my wife, toddler and baby, so the website advised a "suite". It's not as grand as it sounds, it's actually quite small, but fit for purpose. It's on two levels with an internal steep staircase. There's a large bed upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs. In addition as per our request, they had provided a cot for the baby. We arrived and everything was in place with sofa bed open and the baby cot ready wit linen on, etc. There is no room service because of covid, but if you ask for towels, etc, they'll bring you what you need. The staff are pleasant. Breakfast was quite good for the price of £10 if you order ahead (or £15 on the spot). You can get cereals, fruit, dairy, pastry, etc from the buffet, but need to order the full english from the waitress, who unfortunately doesn't speak good english and tends to forget, so you have to remind her! Location, location, location, nuff said! The only problem with the place is that it's not accessible, a bit of a nightmare with two buggies. You have to climb stairs at the front entrance, and there's nobody to help. Overall a quite pleasant experience with excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

About 15minutes walk of Paddington rail station and 5 mins from Lancaster Gate tube (Central Line). Right next to the Park which was beautiful and 20mins walk from Marble Arch (5mins on tube). Room was good and clean with everything I needed. Standard size room was fine for me as a single traveller but maybe a squeeze for 2 for anything more than a night. Hotel decor was nice and breakfast was really good quality and plentiful, with excellent service provided by the girls in the breakfast room. Good aircon in the room. Couple of nice local pubs and cafes if you don't eat at the hotel.

A lovely boutique style hotel just off Hyde Park. A great location with friendly attentive staff. Was lovely and clean and although the room was quite small we didn't mind as I knew it was going to be. The Lancaster Gate Tube station is only a 3 min walk away. It was great value for money and will look to stay again when back in London.

Small friendly hotel on the edge of Hyde Park. It was easy to find and just a short walk from Lancaster Gate Tube Station. Plenty of buses stopping on Bayswater Road. Room wasn't ready but they quickly sorted out a different room, as we need to get out to meet family on our first afternoon. Room was spacious , large comfortable bed , large walk in shower. Breakfast was quality and wide choice freshly cooked, perfect to set you up for a day in London. As a base to explore London at a reasonable price , look no further

I good little hotel with excellent staff and a lovely location. The place was clean, the hotel was well kept and the room was a nice size. The location,, near Hyde Park, is great. The price was reasonable for a London hotel and we will certainly use it again.

This is the first time in my life, in any part of the globe that such a major issue like: "The Electricity not working at night" has happened and I was just asked to change the room with an appology and drop the old keys back to the reception. Unbelievable, never staying at this place again! The least that they could have done is upgrade our room....but no! Unbelievable!

Air conditioning unit was broken and noisy room was next door to the lift which was very noisy other rooms had people smoking out of windows, which was drifting into my room breakfast was nice and staff helpful, yet our 2 meals came at 5 minute intervals with items missing from both meals

The hotel is in a good location just 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate station and Hyde park. The staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. The hotel seemed really quiet but that's probably because London in general is quiet at the moment. The facilities and rooms were very clean and well maintained. The only thing I'd criticise on (and it's a small thing) was that the water in the room didn't run cold enough to drink and when I asked for some bottled water I was told I could come to reception and get a glass to take upstairs but would have to pay for bottled.

Single rooms in some hotels, especially in London, can be a bit disappointing. They're often too small, with the en-suite squeezed in. This hotel offered a large, modern, en-suite single room for an extremely competitive price.

I love the hotel, it was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. The hotel is located in an affluent area and close to the underground station which made it easier for me to travel around London.

Cannot fault this hotel. Brilliant location immediately across from Hyde Park. Excellent staff and service. Very good price for short break. We used the hotel for a family visit to London. Tube station only a 5 minute walk, also bike hire stand is outside the hotel on the right for getting around.

My wife and I stayed here for one night have been to the UEFA Euro Final at Wembley Stadium. And what a find it was. The reception staff were so welcoming, helpful and professional. An absolute credit to themselves and the Best Western Hotel Group. Our room was excellent too with tea and coffee making facilities. The room had everything we needed which made for a comfortable night's sleep. Again, the staff in the breakfast room were so polite and welcoming. The choice of breakfast was superb. It had everything you could think of and the quality was excellent. On leaving the hotel, once more the staff were so polite and engaging. Our experience was superb. The customer service we received was exemplary at all times. A credit to the management team and every member of staff. Without doubt, we would,d recommend this hotel. Its location is really good, near Lancaster Gate tube station and Hyde Park. We travelled from Paddington and it was a straightforward walk to get to the hotel. Thank you to everyone who made our stay an enjoyable one. We will definitely be back.

Selected this hotel on the day and,was not disappointed. It was beautifully clean and the service was excellent. Lovely room (executive) with comfortable bed and a stones throw from Hyde Park. Our first time staying at this hotel and we will be back. We got a great deal on our stay booking direct making it better value than the top budget hotels. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, minutes from Hyde park, minutes from Lancaster Gate tube station and easily walkable to tourist attractions such as Oxford Street, and Marble Arch. We walked from the hotel to Covent Garden quite easily. Lots of local food and drink options around the hotel, with 2 pubs close by, and lots of takeaways and restaurants an easy walk away towards Paddington station and Edgware Road. We had the cosy, economy double room which suited us perfectly. The room had everything we needed, and was clean and comfortable. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered continental options and cereal, fruit which you could help yourself to and a cooked breakfast you can order. Overall we thought this hotel was great and will definitely stay here again, could not fault a thing.

We had a last minute change of plans which meant we needed to book a room at short notice the day before travelling. We were pleased with the location (right opposite Hyde Park and within a short walking distance of both Lancaster Gate and Paddington Stations). The desk staff were helpful and stored our luggage for us before checking in. The staff in the breakfast room were very friendly and welcoming and always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast was, on the whole, good. It is funny that I think one of the recent reviews was actually of the room we were initially assigned. The Executive Double Room was much smaller than portrayed online, and since we had a baby with us, between the bed and the cot there was hardly any space left in the room. We thought we would work with it, but when the air conditioner started leaking all over the wood floor, leaving a substantial puddle, I reported it to the front desk manager, who very kindly upgraded us to the Executive Queen- sized room. and gave us a complimentary drink voucher. There are some points that could probably be looked at: instead of one big duvet, we had two single duvets, which was...interesting. If housekeeping are not going to visit for an entire week (which we were made aware of as a Covid-secure measure) perhaps a bigger bin or two could be supplied?

Very nice hotel, polite and helpful staff and right next to Kensington Park and Lancaster Gate tube station. Rooms have air con so great for the summer. Clean and tidy, and close to supermarkets and restaurants.

I stayed at this place for 8 nights. Great location, just two minutes walk to beautiful Hyde Park and very close to Paddington station. If you stay at weekend, you'll be lucky enough to walk to Portobello market and enjoy colorful clothes and street food. The staff were really nice and helpful and the room was very clean, comfortable and spacious enough. Although I was a solo traveler, I got a double bed and when I asked the reception for a room with a bath-tub, they kindly gave me one. The only problem during my stay was that the breakfast buffet (self-service) was closed and the room used to be cleaned once a week, however this was only because of the Covid19 restrictions. I could definitely say I'll choose this hotel again and I highly recommend it.

This was in a nice area with easy reach from Paddington station 6 minutes walk. We arrived having booked an executive room... The first room was awful...the Aircon had leaked over the floor at the very bottom of the bed... Bathroom had been cleaned as it stank of bleach but it was far from clean. Due to the wet floor we moved!!! Second room was bigger but still definitely not an executive room but it was fine. Spent the day in London and all was lovely!!! Breakfast on the 2 mornings was absolutely brilliant, plenty of food and prompt service. The staff at the hotel are just great the ladies who do the breakfast service and then onto housekeeping are just lovely ladies and are a credit to the hotel. Front desk staff were also very friendly and chatty. Obviously due to covid things were different but as a first stay away since 2019 we had a great time. The hotel is situated in an area with so many different places to eat and drink... Sandro's do a fantastic bacon butty and a good cup of tea.

I enjoyed my stay at Best Western Mornington Hotel very much and definitely will be coming back. It was quiet and peaceful with great service from the staff! Fantastic location made it all even better!

My husband and I had a wonderful overnight stay at the Best Western Mornington Hotel. The room was spotless and comfortable. Lovely fluffy white towels in the bathroom. It had everything we needed including an hairdryer iron and board. The breakfast was great and the staff working in breakfast room work really hard and couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely re,I commend this hotel of you just want a room that is comfortable and clean. It was easy to fine as it was just around the corner from Lancaster Gate underground though we used the bus to ge5 around it was so much better.

Locationwise this one of the best hyde park just 2 min walk or less, people, pubs and deliciuos restaurants One of the best stays if you wish to have not busy and very enjoyable time, tube station just 3 min away

I have used this hotel before. It is in a very quiet location but only 5 minutes walk from the tube station and Hyde park, also there is a Santander bike hire stand in the same road. Small local restaurants and shops nearby. Excellent wifi- good enough to do a Zoom conference. Bathrooms are very nice, recently refurbished. Breakfast good value, lovely cooked food, very nicely presented. Air conditioning in bedrooms works well. Reception are very helpful, and were great about rearranging my covid cancelled bookings. I really like this hotel and will be back again.

Very central to everything only a couple of stops on the tube. On first entering hotel seemed nice and clean and decor contemporary. Breakfast was ordered but was ok was £10 per person. I felt sorry for the young lady things were going wrong and she was the only one doing breakfast. First night stayed and duvet was too small for the queen bed. Told reception and was told they did not have king size duvet for the cover that was supplied. Pillows were hard too. We stayed 2 nights and housekeeping never came round. No bed making, change of towels or replenish tea and coffee. This hotel has been open for a while I would not expect no housekeeping during our stay.

Worth choosing this place to stay. Anice clean place with pleasent interiors. Although the room area is small, the interiors are apt with excellent service and a friendly staff. Being close to Hyde Park, taking a break is meters away for a relaxed Quiet time whenever you need.

We were attended to pleasantly at the reception when we arrived. Also, when we got to our room we received a phone call from the reception asking if everything in the room was okay, I would definitely book again.

This was such an amazing experience, great customer service, excellent room, made me feel exremely welcome.. Very understanding. They catered to my needs in terms of helping me to find a place to pray.

Reception was empty on arrival due to a skeleton staff but the check in person was very apologetic about this when he did arrive 10 minutes later. Room was adequate but slightly difficult to open the door fully to get luggage in as it kept hitting one of the beds. Beds were super comfy, very large TV, shower was ok if a little un powerful, but did the job. Asked for spare towels whilst I popped to the shop and they were there by the time I got back. As our moving truck didn't arrive until the afternoon, the hotel kindly let us stay a little longer so we didn't have to go wandering about in the rain! Clean, friendly and definitely would stay again.

We stayed at Best Western Mornington for a week of work in April and had a great experience. The staff are lovely and always available to help and assist. The hotel is clean and very central, in one of the nicest areas of London. Definitely recommended.

All the receptionists we were in contact with delivered an outstanding service! Eduardo, Junior and Sylvjia made our stay lighter and helped us with whenever we needed. The room and shower room were fairly clean and the area where the hotel is located is very nice.

Very clean and comfortable. I wasn't disappointed, although the room was a little too warm. It had a good size television, tea and coffee making facilities and a shower. I had the choice of a good breakfast in the morning. Pleased with my choice

I stayed at the hotel for 10 nights in a double executive room which was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. I had breakfast each morning and I was left in awe at the efficiency of the restaurant team. The food choices were varied and plentiful which I was not expecting to be the case during current times. The hotel is in walking distance of Hyde Park, Paddington Station, Oxford Street and Bayswater, it also has fantastic public transport links. Craven Terrace behind the hotel has a good choice of cafes, restaurants and coffee shops, in addition to this, small supermarkets are also within walking distance. The staff on Reception worked really well as a team in order to ensure that guests had a memorable stay. At the moment, guests can only stay for select reasons but when tourism opens up again, I will definitely return. I booked a budget room, it was very basic and no room cleaning was done over 2 day stay. Also I received a draconian email about COVID restrictions and cleaners were in the lift without a mask. Duty manager helped.

My recent stay at the Best Western Mornington Hotel was just great. I have stayed here before and like this hotel very much. However I tried something a bit cheaper on this particular week, was quite horrified at check in and managed to get a last minute reservation at the Mornington instead, thankfully, and at a great rate. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a log and the shower was also great. all facilities of a high standard and the rates are very reasonable, and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

I had to stay in a hotel for a few days while some work was being done in my flat. The place was nice and the staff seemed nice too. Then on the second day of my stay I found a syringe inside the nightstand. It was just there. This is scandalous in normal timsles but even more during a sanitary crisis! I obviously went to the reception to let them know. I spoke to the manager and she gave me an other room (upgraded), which is frankly the minimum. When I showed her the syringe, she told me she was sorry but she also said that she was surprised that I only noticed 2 days later. I don't know since when guests are supposed to check all the corners when they check in a hotel room? I told her that it was unacceptable, especially during a pandemic, hygiene should be priority number one. She offered to free breakfast. I told her that I was fasting, so not having breakfast. The only reason I stayed is because I had to. I had some work going on in my flat and I couldn't book anywhere else on such short notice. But all of this made me question seriously the hygiene standards in this place. The day I was checking out I spoke with the gentleman at the reception. I told him what happened and he said it was a mistake, a really bad one but it happens sometimes… He was what can I do, I said I want to speak to someone who is in charge to make sure this will not happen again. I was alone, but kids could have been in this room, this is really bad! I was shocked about how this was handled. They acted like I found flies in my room! They said someone will get back to me it's been a couple of days and nothing. Avoid this place if you ask me.

Was not originally booked to stay here but the reservation was moved. Easy to get to, and nice, clean room! The guy working was super pleasant and really helpful, especially with Covid. Single duvets on double beds were an odd shout but other than that! Felt safe enough with social distancing etc.

I stayed here again as a key worker and was not disappointed. The staff were efficient and friendly and due to my diamond status I was upgraded to a queen executive room which was large and spacious The hotel has good anti COVID precautions in place but they still managed to serve a full English breakfast adhering to social distances I will return

Centrally located hotel near hyde park. Good breakfast service. Stayed in a single room which was adequate for 1 or 2 night. Could have been better if there had been a free standard size water bottle.

Before I explain, I stayed here for 4 nights, alone. I'll start with positives. I had a lovely receptionist who was welcoming and nice. The room came with a good quality TV that you can adjust, was clean and was roomy for my bags. Came with a roomy wardrobe with a hairdryer, etc. If you're in need of a last minute, solo stay, the room had everything you'd need. Now, negatives. The most sleep I got, throughout my entire stay, was 3 hours. It was always loud and noisy throughout each night. Creaky floors as well as a constant buzzing noise from the drainage or something. Shower pressure was poor, and the cold water from the bathroom tap was tepid, therefore it put me off getting water into my water bottle for on-the-go. My biggest issue was BREAKFAST. As it was socially distanced, there were only 3 people in the canteen which I can understand and am all for. However, there wasn't someone to greet me until I was stood around looking stupid for 10 minutes. Eventually a lady sat me down and gave a menu, yet I was waiting for about 20 minutes, no one took my order. As I was in a rush, I had to leave and go back up to my room to gather my stuff. I got a call from the waitress, telling me off for not waiting. Sorry? I did wait. 20 minutes. Not acceptable in my opinion. It massively put me off getting breakfast for the rest of my stay therefore I had to go hungry in the morning. I'm not one to throw abuse at staff as I wouldn't want to be in that position as I work with customer service as well, but I really had to bite my tongue at that. If you're alone and in desperate need of a stay for one night, then this place is fair of needs. However, as I was staying for 4 nights, this hotel wasn't it!

Things have been pretty stressful all round during this pandemic and with all the rules and regulations around hotel stays booking a hotel has been very stressful indeed BUT Sylvija made the process so smooth for us and was very kind and understanding. I left the call with her happy and reassured that all the necessary information had been noted and that there would be no complications or confusion on our arrival, which there was not! Our room was nice and our stay was comfortable and I'm looking forward to visiting again once lockdown restrictions have been lifted for a proper stay-cation visit. Hats of to Sylvija for making us feel so welcome, before we had even arrived.

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights for business reasons. It was a good stay. Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly and polite. The only thing i can think of that needs improving is to have a fridge in the room. overall I would stay here again and I recommend this hotel.

I was upgraded to a large double from my booked single as I am a best western diamond select member and I was very pleased with the room All the staff very friendly and efficient. had to change rooms due to bathroom issue at 10:30pm.No maintenance on site to fix. The new room was a down grade from the actual room paid for. By the time unpacked and settled into new room it was midnight which was not ideal for my 7:30am meeting the next day.

We have stayed for one night on 4th March 2021 and had a great time. Room 411 was very clean and had a nice city view. Helpful, friendly stuff who go above and beyond to make sure you have the nice stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Not my first visit and always very attentive and polite staff and given the current restrictions the hotel were able to continue to provide a good breakfast. Excellent location for Hyde Park, Paddington and central London.

I have stayed here twice before and now I have decided that I will always stay here when I am in London. It's a great hotel with great staff, a great room and in a great location. Basically just GREAT!! Oh I forgot and great value.

There is a Best Western Mornington, just a 4-5 minute walk away, that will give you an identical experience for at least, I guess, I/10th of the price of any hotel on Park Lane. It is excellent. Why not try it and see? You can always go to Park Lane and check in there is you don't agree.

Stayed during lockdown as was required to travel for a work project. Hotel is currently very well priced, presumably due to lockdown and is in a brilliant location generally. As a former Londoner it was a treat to be able to stay as a ‘legal exception to lockdown' in such a location for such a great price. The room was perfectly adequate, decor is nice and the reception staff were friendly and helpful particularly Eduardo. Sheila's cafe just behind the hotel was a fantastic spot for a morning coffee with delightful staff. However on a few occasions it smelled strongly of marijuana in the corridors or seeping in from neighbouring rooms which was extremely unpleasant - on one occasion it totally overpowered my room via a closed interconnecting door late at night (after someone noisily checked in late and investigated the interconnecting door loudly which felt quite threatening) and I felt the only option available was to open the window for fresh air to sleep - not what I needed before an early start at work the next day. I assume this is an issue caused by the hotel being used a ‘different clientele' during lockdown but regular walk throughs by staff would go some way to addressing this. The fire alarm sounded a few times during stay (perhaps due to smoking) - the false alarm or disturbance was not an issue - these things happen (despite being at around 2am and 7am) but the lack of process/training for conducting an organised investigation and evacuation was sadly evident. Management should address this as a priority . Sadly there were also several hairs in the bathroom upon checkin and such an evident lack of attention to detail does make you question the depth of the cleaning. Would have probably over looked this if it weren't for the subsequent weed/fire safety issues. I'm sure in normal times this hotel is better and it was fine for a cheap business stay. Eduardo was excellent though, what a nice chap!

My stay at the Best Western in Lancaster Gate in London was truly phenomenal. A favourite hotel on mine despite being a Londoner, this is the second time I booked with this them. The caring staff, particularly Eduardo, made my long stay due to the pandemic even more relaxing and stress-free. Together with first-rate service provided by Eduardo (very articulate, knowledgeable and genuine), and the regal-looking library/bar lounge and modern guests rooms (an attractive feature), this is a real gem in West London. I plan on staying again in the near future.

Fantastic location, stunning building. Great value for money. Courteous staff. I was upgraded when they realised that I had just spent the day vaccinating. Really thoughtful and very much appreciated. I will return now each time I need to stay down in London for work, and may return with the family when this pandemic is over.

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel for work purposes. Quiet location, (although it was mid lockdown) clean and modern hotel and very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent service. Reception staff was very nice and helpful. I stayed in the executive queen room, very good. Comfy bed. Abundant breakfast. I got a cheap rate (because of the lockdown, I reckon), so the overall value for money was great.

Due too the current pandemic, we were unable too visit the hotel as most of the country moved into tier 4, absolute shame. After speaking with Byron at the hotel putting up with his very snotty endings to his emails I failed too get a refund off the hotel, with Byron yet again explaining that it was hard times for the hotel. Will never be visiting too stay... but would love too meet with Byron at the bar when I go drink for free at some point.

An excellent stay for anyone considering a relaxing environment, great staff and service. From the moment I reached the hotel, the care was there all the way through to check out. My wife and I checked in 10/6 for 1 night. I was told the deluxe room that i booked is in the basement. The reception desk sees me carry in 4 bags and directs me to the stairs. I come to find out that the elevator in the lobby would have taken me down. when I point this out to her, she simply stared at me. no apology. My wife takes a quick shower in the tiny bathroom and the shower doesnt drain, flooding water all over the floor. While the location is fine, service and room were terrible. there was no closet, bathroom mirror and little space to open your suitcase. this hotel is best used by a single person with a carry on bag at best. By far one of the worst experiences I've had at a hotel.

Little better than what you would expect from a Best Western hotel. Standard rooms are very tiny (but I guess average for downtown London). Different kind of amenities in your room depending on the class you book. Great staff. Breakfast is 10GBP. Made a great deal for 2 nights. 44GBP per night is an awesome price value. Thanks a lot!

A nice friendly hotel that offers good value for money. It's a two minute walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. Breakfast was excellent and there's a nice library in the bar area. I'd definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed every bit of my short stay at the hotel. The environment is fine and the location is great for those wishing to stay in the heart of London albeit in a quiet residential district. The Paddington tube station is just a short walk.

I stayed 15 nights due to starting a new job that required extensive initial training in Central London. The hotel is absolute class in every department. The reception, facilities and rooms are some of the smartest I have ever seen in London. The breakfast was amazing and with so many different choices as well as being fantastic value! A special thanks to all the staff on reception, the housekeeping team and breakfast team who all provided a very welcoming, friendly, enjoyable time. In 17 years of travelling 1-3 times per year to Central London this was genuinely the best experience I have ever had.

Mornington Hotel is one of the good stays when opting for a Hotel near Lancaster gate. Apart from a good location, the stay at the hotel was wonderful. The entire staff is good too. Good value for the price. London without tourists is beautiful. The only detail - a water pressure in shower wasn't enought on the 5th floor. Room was next to a lift and it could be quite noisy if there were more guests.

I'm not usually one for writing reviews but I was really impressed with this hotel so thought I should share. The receptionist was very welcoming and called to check everything was ok with the room shortly after arrival. The room was very comfortable, had everything I needed for my work stay, the shower was great and everything extra clean. The measures currently in place due to Covid was reassuring, without affecting me enjoying the hotel. Didn't take the breakfast although the receptionist did mention that they were offering a hot breakfast menu. Will not hesitate to book again next time I'm in London. Thank you!

I live in London but living in lockdown and myself and partner being key workers (busy times) me and my partner just wanted to get away for the night/day, so looked online and found a reasonable price at this hotel. I spoke to a lovely man on reception and asked for a nice spacious room as it was a treat for me and my partner. When I turned up the receptionist (different man to whom I spoke to on the phone) said he would changed my room saying “I'm going to give you a better room” I said thanks (as you do) and asked him where the nearest shop was. He gave me directions and said he would bring my bag to the room whilst I was out. Upon my return I was given my door key but was very upset that I was given a tiny room, with a bed pushed up against the wall at the back of the property (downgraded I think ). They did call the room and ask if everything was o.k and maybe I should of said something but I'm not like that and said it was (so that's my fault). But on a positive note the hotel was immaculately clean, as was our room. As social workers we Havnt stoped and would of loved a nicer room as during this time we have not had a break Since March! But it was ok (maybe I didn't look the part when I checked In)

I've stayed there with my partner as we wanted to spend a night in London. The hotel is in perfect location, we were surprised how many nice restaurant we found, unfortunately, didn't have enough time to try them all. The interior design is lovely, I took some photos of it to share on my social media. Our room was lovely too. The staff members were extremely helpful and polite, they checked if we need any help, if we are happy with our stay etc. Thank you to this lovely gentleman In reception who landed me a charger on the arrival, he was really nice! Overall, very good vibe, nice stay, we will definitely come back.

I stayed here this weekend with my husband and daughter as we had a planned a weekend in London for her 6th birthday. The reception staff, and the lady serving us at breakfast, were very friendly and professional. However, the room was so noisy and the cleaner then started vacuuming and banging the hoover around our room at 9pm. After 20 minutes of this and when she then started doing it right outside our room door and banging against the wall, which then woke my daughter, we went out and politely requested that she stopped since she had woken our daughter. She rudely stormed off and shouted out to us “welcome to my world”. Really not good enough.

I had a few requests which I made before going to the hotel, which they did not meet and instead charged me extra on these when it was not mentioned beforehand. Condition was terrible and was not a comfortable stay, overall it was not a pleasant experience

I have stayed at this hotel for 8 weeks now due to working in London. It is spacious, clean and in a fantastic location. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is ample. What I have liked best though about this hotel are the staff working there, nothing is ever too much for them. Daniel in particular who works on reception is outstanding, he goes out of his way week after week to make me feel welcome, he is a credit to the company and I can not compliment him enough. It is because of him that I have chosen to stay so long. Excellent stay, outstanding customer service.

Ideal location to explore Hyde Park or to take the Central Line tube from Lancaster Gate or the 148 bus to Victoria. Limited staff and reception due to the current situation but we found Silvija to be friendly and helpful. Plan to stay at hotel again for easy access to see the London Christmas lights.

Staff was excellent, they went out of their ways to make my stay as safe and comfortable as possible. They were flexible and accommodating. The location is absolutely excellent being next to Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and just a 15 min walk away from Oxford Street. 100% recommended!

stayed one night, before catching the Train to Devon from Paddington which is close by, i had a really comfortable room, had a nice drink in the bar and excelent breakfast. Location is perfect for transport and park and pubs. Service from staff was excelent. Hope they are doing well in these difficult times

The service from the workers were absolutely outstanding would recommend to anyone such a great hotel and my stay was very comfy. And located in such a beautiful area of London not to far from hyde park and not too close to the main road.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Mornington Hotel on 31st August to 1st September 2020. We booked online directly with their website. We stayed in the Queen Room. The room itself was ok, spacious enough but the room was cold in general and couldn't turn up the temperature. Tried numerous times to phone the front desk but no one was picking up. The bathroom was ok, had shower over bath, not quite a power shower, the bath tub was slightly on the small side. The lock on the door was not working properly. We thought the hotel would be facing the park but wasn't at all at it was the road behind but was walking distance from Kensington Gardens, Lancaster Gate Station which was a bonus. When we phoned up to confirm the booking we were informed a grab bag for breakfast will be available but then was told it was not available now so that was disappointing. Overall the hotel was adequate for location to Central London but felt service and customer service was poor unfortunately. You can't blame COVID-19 for that.

Stay here for 4 nights. Great location right on the doorstep to Hyde Park. Plenty of Boris bike outside of the hotel to help explore London. Had to move rooms after 2 nights, not because of the room but the rude neighbour who was in & out of their room not stop until 4am with the door banging constantly. Daniel from reception sorted this for me and placed us in a nice quite part of the hotel. He managed the whole situation in a polite, calm and professional manner. He is a credit to the company. The only minor negative was and the website is still saying that the gym is open, when it isn't. 10min walk to Bayswater where there's plenty of shops and places to eat. 100% I would stay here again

I do travel quite a lot but I would say this so far has been the worst hotel I stayed at. Customer service was bad, he was rude, he was never there during his shift hours. During his work hours he was never there, we had to reach him thru email & phone. The phone in my room wasn't working, I complained to him 3 times & he completely ignored me saying ok & during one of the nights there was crazy drunk lady knocking on our door & we got so creeped. There was literally no one we could reach out to for help. On top of all this they had no room service BcUZ of Covid which I completely understand but people had so much garbage, everyone kept leaving the garbage outside their doors in the hallway & it stunk so bad. Overall my experience was horrible, terrible & quote scary to be honest

Hello everyone, This Hotel was a cheap soloution for a nice weekende trip with my girlfriend. I didn´t expect much but the room was very small. (yes even the executive one) Most of the time we were outside anyways so it doesn´t bother us at all. The Staff was very nice and kind to us.

We were in room 22 , the shower was all hot water cant make it right, the staff wont move us to the different room, they said there is only 1 room left thats single room they give us 2 option 1: change from double room to single room, option 2 go to that single room which was room number 23 to have a shower only , we ho there to have a shower but to our disappointed that room the shower broke too only cold water , its such a joke, they wont move us to different room st that last minute we couldnt find different hotel.

Considering the Covid pandemic this was still an enjoyable stay.Contact with staff was necessarily limited but always polite and friendly and, of course, there were no food options.The hotel is situated perfectly; on Hyde Park and five minutes from Paddington. Transport by bus or Underground is easy and convenient.

Friendly staff and nice reception liunge however the quality of the room was not up to my standard. I didn't bother making a complaint as I was told that we weren't allowed to look into other rooms due to covid. The bed was not comfortable and the duvet cover was open ended and I think it's unhygienic and could have been doubled up at least. The room also hadn't been hoovered before I arrived as there was dust everywhere and made me doubt the depth of cleanliness in general. The location is good. There are better places to stay.

Lovely hotel, everything needed was in the room. Very comfortable bed. Immaculately clean. All staff that I encountered were very pleasant and informative. Great central location close to the tube and buses. Very quiet on a night, sleep not disturbed even with the window open. Aircon was ace. Fab hotel, I'd definitely recommend.

I had a reduced service due to COVID but was never told prior to booking. Reception was only open between certain hours and no room service. I was having surgery and had fraud on my cards using their wifi - plus the noise in the evenings was terrible and I was unable to complain. The experience was terrible

Nice Hotel, clean rooms small bath room. Request for room with bath tub was not granted. Luggage storafe was no problem, easy and safe. Next to Hyde Park/Lancester Gate Station. Really aopreciated the free buscuit with Tea/coffee making facilities. Overall had a pleasant exoerience.

Given the current situation, most hotels were not accommodating anyone but key workers. Thankfully best western Mornington gave me a room. Facilities were limited, understandably due to COVID. But staff was there to help 24/7.

We were booked to stay at this location March 15/20 for 6 nights. Unfortunately when the Corona Virus got worse our agent contacted the hotel to inquire if we could get a credit for a future stay, they were told things were not that bad there so no credit. When our airline began to cancel flights we had to make the decision to cancel the trip. We did not want to put ourselves, being seniors, or our family at risk. Again the agent contacted the hotel and was given the same response, no credit. I contacted Best Western Customer Relations to ask for their help, after some back and forth was told it was at the discretion of the manager, so no credit. Given the state of the UK and the rest of the world hoped their might be some flexibility and empathy towards clients. I realize this was a nonrefundable reservation and under normal circumstances I would accept this policy, but these are not normal times! I can only hope that when things return to normal and people begin to travel again they will support the companies that treated them with respect and compassion. Best Western will definitely be on my list of hotels to support.

We had booked this hotel for two nights at the end of our trip. Due to these uncertain times, our flight back to the US was changed. I phoned the hotel and they very kindly changed our dates with no charge. I was very impressed with the staff, friendly and helpful all. The room was clean and comfortable, although we were next to the lift and could hear people coming and going. The bed was a little strange, they had brought together two single beds and it was somewhat uncomfortable. Breakfast was excellent and we were warmly greeted each morning. The location of the hotel is wonderful, across the road from Hyde Park and very near the Lancaster Gate tube station. We would gladly stay here again.

We managed to get the hotel online for 60 Euros a night including all taxes. The room is comfortable and modern, the bathroom spotless and the bed is great. We had a small size room, though. The location is perfect - less than 10 minute walk from Paddington. The park is 1 minute away and transportation is also bery good. They have a huge breakfast, which will fill you up for the whole day, for 10 pounds a person. The staff were excellent as was the wifi. Highly recommended.

Perfect place to stay near Hyde park. Metro station 4mins away. The room was very clean and was big enough for a couple. The receptionists were very friendly and responded with kindness. I reccomend this hotel 100%.

We had a lovely stay at the Best Western Mornington Hotel! The staff were excellent, our room was really nice (although a bit noisy some times) - and beds are very comfortable. The hotel has a great central location close to Hyde Park and subway. Definitely recommended!

Overall experience was very good. Great breakfast and 24 hour bar, location to tube 1-2 minute walk and Hyde Park even nearer. We were able to leave our baggage there pre and post chechout. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The staffs were very friendly and polite. The toiletries and toilet facility were clean and maintained. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel but the only thing I did not like was the shower water pressure was low making bathing difficult. Hope this gets rectified. Cheers

the hotel is really nice and it's super close to Hyde park. The metro is 2 min by walk. the bed is really comfortable and the breakfast was awesome, highly reccomend to try the porridge! They were able to give us soy milk.

I stayed at a lot of hotels in London but this is so far my favourite. Why? Great service! They make a check up call when you're about 10 minutes in your room, they gave us an umbrella, we asked for extra towels and a shower cap and it was delivered in no time, bar service with complimentary peanuts,... The room was tiny but it had everything we needed. Superclean bathroom, tv, good internet, quiet (even though we were next to the elevator). We also forgot our plug for our appliances but luckily there was one in our room! Great location, nearby the Lancaster Gate underground. Will be staying here again!

I stayed here whilst on business and couldn't fault the hotel, staff or location. Conveniently located near Lancaster Gate Tube, you're only a short ride from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street and fast connections to other parts of the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and any queries I had were answered both positively and swiftly. The rooms were clean and neatly presented, I didn't encounter any noise and had a good night's sleep before the next day's business. The decor is light and modern, and provides a perfect place to unwind after a day out in the city before heading up to your room. If you're looking for a great place to stay that's conveniently located, whether you're having a weekend away in the city or on business, Best Western Mornington Hotel should definitely be on your shortlist.

We stayed in room 18. The room was clean and tidy. Everyday it was cleaned and beds made. Cant fault the cleaning. I was a bit concerned as there was a pub outside the window but hardly heard a thing. All staff were helpful and friendly. Thankyou to Sylvja for sorting a refund on our card . The hotel is ideal for Hyde Park and kensignton Gardens. Oxford street a short walk or tube ride away. We have stayed in this area before but this hotel was ideal for our needs. Only downside to our room ,maybe a blind for bathroom window and maybe a little sticker on bathroom door to warn /remind you of the step .

My wife and daughter just returned home after staying 4 nights at this hotel and here is their review: The hotel is fairly clean and close to a tube station. Breakfast is decent. Room floors are wooden made and squeak badly – You cannot continue on sleeping after the first guest at the room above you woke up. The room doesn't have a city view but a brick wall with a chimney view. Room is extra small - Booking.com publicity is neither correct nor full. The size of the room (11m²) is not published before you make the reservation. It is only stated at the order summary you receive after reservation was made and who reads it?! Room cannot be reached by elevator - you get off the elevator and then have to climb a few stairs with you luggage.

From check-in to check-out was a great experience. My wife and I took my mother to London for a birthday treat and stayed three nights. We were looked after very well indeed by all the staff who are always friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet street, just a few minutes' walk from Hyde Park and the nearest Underground station. For those who enjoy walking, Oxford Street can be reached in about 25 minutes. Our rooms were situated at the front of the hotel and were spacious enough for our needs. The bathrooms were clean and had nice toiletries provided. The breakfast room was in the basement in a pleasant area. A wide range of hot and cold food including a full English breakfast was available and replenished regularly - it was certainly to be recommended. The hotel does not serve full meals in the evening (there are plenty of eating places nearby), but there is a lovely bar area where you can get a ready meal if required. We enjoyed our trip thoroughly and look forward to another visit in the summer. Thank you to everyone for a great stay!

My bf and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel despite a terrible experience for our first night. The hotel did not have a room for us and only informed us on the day itself, and assured us that a similar room at their sister hotel will be provided. We just landed and were so tired, only to be put up in a tiny tiny room (12sqm; just space for bed next to window and narrow aisle to the toilet and door) which had windows that couldn't shut. Imagine that during winter and squeezing in a tiny room (I'm 5ft6 and bf is 6 ft). We were so glad that the reception supervisor, Paula was empathetic and made our stay more enjoyable. Although the room was abit dated, it was quite clean and comfortable. The shower and heating were good. The location is wonderful and there're food options nearby. We enjoyed the walks at Hyde park which was also nearby. Minus the first night, this was a pleasant stay.

A small but well presented hotel in London with easy access to the west end and, given how long I spent trying to decide between the hotels in that area, I'm happy to say I made the right choice. A small problem with my reservation was sorted out promptly, good to see staff trusted to make decisions, and I was allocated an "upgraded" room on the first floor. The room was very nice, with a mezzanine bedroom floor. First imnpression was that it was clean and tidy, large enough for a stay of a day or two and with a basic mini bar. My wife would have approved. On closer inspection you can tell that the "Hotel" has been bolted over the top of a traditional residence, and not everything has been done perfectly, an example would be the lack of easily accessible plugs with the panelling of the wardrobe having to be cut to allow access to the sockets. That said, I'm probably being overly "picky" and there was nothing irritating enough to affect my stay. The staff were all professional,courteous and helpful. The Breakfast Buffet was excellent and checkout was a breeze. In summary; an excellent stay and, at the right price, this may now be my preferred location any time I needed to visit London.

Stayed for 2 nights while doing some sight seeing in central London. Check in was straightforward. Room clean and bed a good size. We were on the 5th floor and the water pressure was not great in the shower. Bathroom very clean. Breakfast selection excellent

Hotel was very nice specially receptionist Zainab. But no restaurants nearby, hotel was in Residential quiet area. room was also too small. Train station was near by but no restaurants or grocery shops in a walking distance from this hotel

Stayed here for 4 nights, in a single room which was very clean and was more than big enough for myself, apart from the bath being very small! Nice big HD TV in room. Staff were friendly, although found the breakfast staff a bit unprofessional. Could hear them loudly talking in the kitchen constantly throughout breakfast, and were all wearing jeans. Bar area is nice, with comfy chairs. Main problem with room was that the floorboards above me were creaky and I would wake up sometimes hearing people above moving around. Very friendly staff, quick checkin, the entire reception is nicely furnished and inviting. The internet connection is very good, fast and stable, the business center is just a desk before the breakfast area, so I worked in the lobby, waiting for my room to be ready. The room was at a very fair rate, but very small. Yet, all amenities were working perfectly fine, they even supply an adapter for your electronic devices! Great service. Bathroom was tiny as well, just enough space for a shower, a toilet and a small wash basin. The bed was comfortable with a very good mattress I slept very well in it. Lighting and working space were good in the room. Also you had good storing facilities in a closet. The noise from other rooms was quite high (as always in the UK), but as my room was in a small side corridor, I was only affected once. The only weak spot was the breakfast: No fresh fruit, a little bit of gherkin and tomato was all fresh things I could find. Apart from that you could prepare your own orange juice by hand and they offered some granola with joghurt, but all fruit came from the can. The fried eggs offered were not very tasty and had stayed in the heater too long. The coffee was terrible, I just could not drink it. All in all a good hotel close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park, the rate was very fair and the room fine, but please work on your breakfast!!!

We had a group booking from our company and the hotel was very helpful from reserving the rooms to the staff on the day. Rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was nice. It is the second time I personally have stayed here and would do again.

The staff were amazing and very nice. The room was spacious. The only downside was the bathroom, which was tiny and had no plugs. It was a 2 min walk to Lancaster station and 8min walk to paddington station. It was also a 2min walk to hyde park which was beautiful

I stayed 4 nights at the hotel. Nice and clean rooms. Tasty breakfast and good coffee. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and nice. Recommend also because the place near Paddington station and the Kensington gardens are excellent.

The breakfast buffet and the location are 5+ stars. The rooms are typical European rooms: small space, small single beds and small bathroom. But we never spend much time in our room so it was no problem.

Great location, very friendly staff, although from internal doors in hotel extremely noisy and was woken up a few times by my "neighbours" coming in late/getting up early. Bathroom and shower are amazing - room very clean, and includes hairdryer. I checked in late in the evening, but was called by reception at almost 11pm to see if everything was okay with my room, though this is a nice gesture, it was a bit late in the evening - I would of been annoyed had I already been asleep. Would stay again without hesitation.

Very comfortable bed and good WiFi. The decor in the room is a bit of out of date but the size is perfect for single person. Friendly staff and good selection of food. Always greeted by staff and always checking on me to make sure I'm doing fine. Very attentive, nice and feel welcomed

The hotel was top notch and in a great area, the beds were comfortable the room was quiet and and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the best western Mornington hotel to anyone travelling to London.

We loved our stay at this hotel, very friendly, clean and safe and the location suited us perfectly plus we found the area to offer everything we needed. Downsides. Shower wasn't very powerful and the room was located next to the lift and 3 doors connecting to corridors, consequently there was quite a lot of coming and going noise. We booked a budget room and though the room was small, as expected, it was clean, comfortable and offered everything as promised.

The staff was nice and tried to be accomodating, but the room was not ready for us (we came around 3pm, so this is strange), smelled strongly paint, and was not clean. The bathroom was ok, but we needed to call the cleaning staff to clean it, it was "well-used." Also very small. We both found black hair in our bed linens and neither of us have black hair. It was also unbearably hot at night and we could not control the temperature in the room, even opening the window didn't help. The breakfast is not worth the £15 pricetag. So again, the staff was nice, but I would not go back to this property, unfortunately.

Family travel. We had some rooms but it wasn't next to each other. Reception and breakfast staff very kindly. Hotel is very well situated, near tube station and bus stop. In front of Hyde Park. Highly recommended.

We've stayed here a couple of times in the past when coming up to London to see a show. I have always booked redeeming the Best Western points I've earned! Great location near Hyde Park and only a short stroll away from Lancaster Gate tube station. The hotel is very stylish and the rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable and you've got everything you need. The only downside from our point of view was the breakfast, whilst the cereals and croissants and bread are all very nice, the cooked breakfast is sitting in a covered tray, for how long who knows? The scrambled eggs looked quite congealed and a new batch was being added to the tray while I watched and they didn't look much better! A cooked breakfast is best made to order, just my opinion. Apart from that this hotel ticks all the boxes!

Stayed in an executive double room, reasonably sized and well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Excellent breakfast offering a complete choice and well presented. Hotel is conveniently located for the city center.

Right across the street from beautiful Hyde Park. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a perfect location to transportation and pubs and restaurants. We could walk to many of the places we visited from the hotel.

My wife and i stayed 21st-22nd December for an overnight stay for a belated 50th Birthday weekend. Everything about the hotel is fantastic, the staff we encountered where extremely professional and were extremely helpful and allowed us to drop off bags early so we could make the most of our day. When we did check in later that afternoon, wow, our room was fantastic, Room 101, think it may have been an upgrade on the room we booked, thank you! We booked breakfast and it was also excellent value. There was certainly a very relaxed feeling to this Hotel We only wish our schedule could have allowed us to spend an additional night. The hotel is ideally situated for Hyde Park and surrounding attractions. We would definitely recommend the Mornington Hotel to friends and family and will hopefully return at some time in the New Year

Strongly recommend hotel which is located in calm and nice area of London. 5 min walk to Hyde Park where you can go you can enjoy the calmness of a big city. Surrounding area full of good restaurants.

Hotel was clean, quiet,, comfortable, and conveniently located. The staff were very pleasant, breakfast tasty. reasonably priced for London. Only issue was instructions for safe were not correct. Otherwise; all great.

This was our third stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for us. We'd requested a room with a bath, but ours only had a shower. Chap on reception said we could maybe move for our last two nights, then confirmed that this would be the case. No availability before then. On the day we were to move, we arrived back from our day out to find move hadn't happened. Women at reception sorted this quite quickly, and we got our bath. Staff generally very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. We also received two lots of free drinks vouchers for bath situation. Didn't give 5/5 on this trip for two reasons. We noted some minor cleaning issues in communal areas -- difficult to keep on top of, but sticky table in bar area, and dust on some surfaces noticeable. Second issue was on day we checked out. Bar area was being used as a polling place for General Election -- I'm not aware that guests had been warned this was the case, which might have been useful. Would use hotel again. Only 5 minutes walk fro Lancaster Gate tube station and 2 minutes from Hyde Park.

You may be surprised by the squeaking sound of the floor you can hear from the upper floor. But please don't forget that this building is a historic building and this is London. Don't worry, you won't hear the voice or TV sound. You will be more than satisfied with the great attentive staff and perfect breakfast. Many high rated restaurants are in walking distance.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel which is very well located to access Underground and Paddinton station. It's modern and very clean and quiet. The staff is particularly attentive and kind. Breakfast is just perfect in a nice large room. We will definitely go back and can only recommend this hotel !

We had some little issues Like the pressure of the water in the shower was very very low, At the breakfast there were thing left empty for a long time. For some reason we didn't need a visa when we booked. But at the arrival the asked a card. Just for Insurance, what we don't have. But they Said it was ok in the end.

Nice location in a quiet area near the Lancaster Gate tube station just north of Hyde Park. The service in the reception is very warm and professional. However, the rooms are very small and not particularly comfortable and also the breakfast buffet is quite average.

I haven't even checked out yet and I've had such a bad experience I feel compelled to write. I am a solo traveller and am staying out of necessity; catching a really early train from Paddington in the morning so just need somewhere near the station to sleep. I got a cheaper deal on Black Friday for this room (god knows what they normally charge) but otherwise I would not have chosen to stay here. Key issues: - had to wait over 5 mins for someone to even show up at reception. No queue, just no staff at the desk. I checked in late (after 11pm) so needed speed so I could get to my room and sleep. I had to shout several times behind the counter to get someone to come. No answer even though I could hear voices behind the desk and laughter between colleagues. - finally someone showed up - zero empathy for my experience and told me he had come very quickly as soon as he heard me (rubbish) - horrible room. Tiny. Cheap appliances. Yes it's clean but super super basic. Not worth even the discount price I paid. - per the above I just wanted to SLEEP so went straight to bed, yet I still got a phone call after midnight from reception asking if the room was ok. Terrible customer service; if he has asked anything about my stay when I checked in he would know I would not want to be disturbed. - someone flushed a toilet in another room a few minutes ago and now it sounds like I can hear the plumbing in the whole hotel. Very loud and not going to help me sleep. I would ordinarily never write a review like this but it has made me so angry. Just do not book here.

It's my first time writing a negative comment about a hotel, but this one doesn't merit a 4 stars. The first day, we found some foundation mark in the green pillow. The closets door wasn't well fixed, so it came off. I told the hotel and they sent a housekeeper (she was very nice) but she didn't managed to fix it. She told us that someone will come tmr (Monday) to fix it, but no one came and I just fixed it myself. On Monday and Wednesday, the room wasn't well clean; the pillow wasn't put in place and the decorative pillows + the green plaid was on the floor. The spoon we used wasn't even washed. on Monday there were no more tissue and the cleaning service didn't even added more. There was no mini bar/fridge. The air conditioner make to much noises. Some good comments: staff were nice, location is very good.

Excellent location, quiet and very clean. Staff friendly but I did advise our bedside lamp was not workimg and was told it would be looked at but nothing was done. Everthing else was fine and we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.

We had a twin room with single beds and, while the room and beds were on the small side, the beds themselves were some of the comfiest I've ever slept in! Room was quite warm, however there is AC and a window. Amazing location, 20 meters from Hyde Park, and a few more to Lancaster Gate station. Friendly and helpful staff - a call to see all is ok once you get in the room for the first time always sets the tone I find. Slightly lower than ideal pressure in the shower, and the lift isn't too speedy.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by lovely staff. We were very early and told our room wasn't ready yet so we could leave our stuff in the luggage room , which was great! We came back a few hours later and our room was ready! The room itself was very nice. However when looking round it wasn't as clean as we had hoped, and definitely wasn't cleaned before we got there. On the back of the toilet seat there were pubic hairs. There was dust on nearly every surface, and the carpet didn't look like it had been hoovered in a while. We noticed the complimentary toiletries in our en-suite had been opened and used, which is just disgusting. Also there was a blood splatter on one of the pillows. Also the bottom of the bed was stained. We were going to complain but instead I just had a little clean up so we could get on with our day. The bed was very comfortable, however I did not get much sleep either of the two nights we stayed as all night all we could hear was doors being slammed and what sounding like people stomping through the corridors. I think there should be some signs advising customers to be more quiet at night, because the doors are very heavy and if someone doesn't take care in closing them they make an almighty noise. Also the room was way to hot! The radiators were on full blast all night long. We fiddled around with the air conditioner and followed the steps in the guide book but we just couldn't get the fan or air con to work. We ended up having to have the windows open which resulted in even less sleep from the noise on the street below. Further more the afternoon we checked in after being in the room about 45 minutes someone was knocking on our door, we were fresh out of the shower so decided not to open the door but speak through it. We said hello twice but no one answered but continued knocking. Was very strange. When we did go to open the door no one was there. The hotel was very nice however I would not brand it as 4*. It was very basic. The location was lovely, however it's said to be right next to Hyde park and Winter Wonderland. With this in mind we decided to walk, it took us 40 minutes to arrive at Winter Wonderland. So it wasn't no were near as close as advertised. We missed breakfast the first morning but attended the second, food was very nice and big selection too. Staff were lovely however we were sat with empty cups and plate on our table for about 25 minutes and no one took them away even when they had walked by and noticed. The plates were still infront of us when we left the table to return to the room. We did want to share our concerns with a member of reception but when it came to checking out we were in too much of a rush to do so. In conclusion the hotel is very nice and so are staff, just a few things to take into consideration when booking.

The Mornington Hotel is a well appointed property on the edge of Hyde Park. Close to the Royal Albert Hall and connecting tube stations I would recommend the hotel to both tourist and business guests. My only criticism is the size of the single bed. As a result I'd recommend selecting a room with a double bed.

Really good Hotel with very good central location in centre of London. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was small but contained all you need for a short break, the bar and lounge was very comfortable for relaxing and reading the free papers available.

Very good price/ quality hotel. The room was spacious comparing to a lot of hotels in London. Nice and clean bathroom. They even had an adapter which is rare. The only negative thing is the noise you can hear everything: paths, talks, etc. Nice area. Nice reception people very friendly and caring. I recommend this hotel.

We always try and stop at a BW hotel when we can and this one didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the loaction was great. A very nice pub and restaurant around the corner too. We'll definitely be going back.

Can't really fault this hotel, nice room, great location, superb friendly staff but it is not well soundproofed. Noise from traffic on Lancaster Gate, hearing people in rooms above you and same floor Is not great if u want to sleep. I would return but bring the earplugs

We had three nights at the Mornington Hotel reserved using BW Reward Points. The hotel is in an excellent location very near to Hyde Park and about 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Underground Station. Within 10 minutes you can be in Oxford St or Regent St. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. We had a quiet basic double room at the back of the hotel which was certainly adequate for our needs. Although a little small, it was clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent: both hot and cold food available and good value at £10 ppp day. The staff in the basement breakfast room were very welcoming. Although the hotel does not offer restaurant meals in the evening, microwavable meals are available in the comfortable bar. This will be our default London hotel in future!

I will recommend Mornington Hotel. The staff did everything for us to have a nice stay. The bed was a little bit hard, but after a long day on the streets of London we slept well anyway. Small and nice bar in the lobby.

The hotel's location is good and close to the underground. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. I arrived at the hotel a few hours before the check in time，the room was ready and clean and they checked me in immediately.

Just returned from a stay at this hotel. It was our first visit. The hotel is stunning. We stayed in a suite on the first floor - beautiful room. The hotel is extremely elegant. The reception staff were lovely and we even received a phone call 10 mins after entering our room to check we were happy with the room and that everything was ok. Lovely buffet style breakfast. Highly recommended

Won't be a next visit to this hotel. It is a Best Western in name only without any of the BW standards. We paid 36,000 reward points per night and I would like to be reimbursed! The hard mattress had a floppy mattress pad topper. In no way was this a 4-star hotel. When you opened the door, it past the edge of the bed. That's how small and crowded the room was. No water pressure in the shower. Their response was to try to upsell us to a junior suite. Absolutely insulting. I received mail there and they never even told me. After moving to another hotel across town I found out and had to make a lengthy, expensive trip back to retrieve my letter. I'm now in a quandary as to whether I can trust the Best Western brand. Different standards in different countries?

Clean, perfectly located, great staff. Simple but has all the necessities. All land marks and tourist spots within a 10-20 minute train ride. Sylvia with the morning breakfast staff is great and provides an exceptional service with a smile.

I came several time in London, in this hotel, and so enjoy it a lot. The team is very friendly, the room was very comfortable, the cleaning very good. I enjoy a lot too the breakfast (buffet) with the english breakfast. The location of the hotel near Hyde Park and very near the tube station, is very suitable , even to go by feet through the forest to go to the shopping center.

The location of the hotel for us was great! Near restaurants, the tube and Hyde Park. The room, though small, was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lobby is very cozy with a small bar. Be sure to visit The Mitre and Old Mary's around the corner from the hotel. Access to local attractions was easy via the tube. Lancaster Gate is a lovely area and would recommend staying there. Lots of pubs to visit too!

Wonderfully helpful staff! I managed to totally damage my only pair of shoes beyond repair and the front desk staff was able to help me find a cheap but sturdy pair in a nearby shop, all while checking other customers in and dealing with a broken fire alarm. And this was the normal for every one we talked to. Amazing stay and Amazing Staff.

Mornington Hotel is running in an traditional English old building, locating at the Baywater area which is also fully of beautiful old houses. Since I am very interested in heritage and cultural stuff I really enjoy accessing this hotel and area nearby. Traffic is easy as it is just 3 minutes walk to Lancaster Gate underground station, and 8 minutes walk to Paddington underground and National Railway station. There is also Route 94 and 148 buses on the main road nearby the hotel, which directly brought me to the landmark area of Westminster, and shopping area along Oxford Street, without the need of climbing up and down of the underground stations. Buffet breakfast provided various hot food choices of English breakfast content (break, egg, sausage, fruit, yogurt, juice, ham, smoked salmon, cheese, etc), good enough for bringing me a full and warm morning. Francesca at front desk provided me good room re-arrangement and nice suggestion of commutation and restaurants too!

We were visiting our child and seeing a show. The location and room were great. The staff were wonderful and went over and above to make our stay a happy one. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

In short...got in early from a red eye from western united states hoping to check in early, our room wasnt ready so they put us in a different room temporarily to clean up and enjoy the town and them moved our bags while we were out to our new room. Amazing great staff that went beyond!!! Dont usually leave reviews but the service was exceptional!

Best location. Room not so big, but comfortable for two. Breakfast could be better. Hotel staff was perfect. Maybe the structure, on the whole, would need a refresh. Still a great place to spend a few days of vacation in London.

The hotel is in a great location only a short walk from Lancaster Gate and Queensway, the bathroom was tiny and the air con did not work so well. When booking there was no mention of a room in the basement with no window and I showed the receptionist this who was nice enough to find a room on the first floor. The hotel should advertise on booking.com if the room is in the basement so people can avoid booking. Overall a good hotel cosy room and nice staff.

As I am Korean, Although I am not good at English but I had no problem communicating because the staff are so kind. And the breakfast was really good and satisfying. Water doesn't run well in the shower. And I hear little noise outside. But except for that, everything was good. If I travel to London again next time, I am willing to visit this hotel again.

For the price, this was a great room, great breakfast and very friendly staff. Easy walk to the underground, and to neighborhood restaurants. We actually walked all over London from the hotel- We have friends going to London and this hotel will be our recommendation to them.

Hotel is fabulous, staff very attentive, and polite, breakfast was amazing. Upon arrival we were upgraded to an executive suite, which was a lovely surprise. Hotel id is conveniently located with nice pubs and restaurants nearby.

This hotel is close to the centre of London and offers reasonable rooms at (by London standards) reasonable prices. Book a standard room, i paid extra for an executive room but was still given a standard room. Breakfast was reasonable Overall not a bad chose, apart from being downgraded

We did not know where to stay, and luckily found the Mornington! Great price, clean rooms, excellent service and location. Get the room with the Breakfast as it is well worth it. Local Hyde Park charm, but quick ride or Underground to all of the tourist sites. Mitre Pub and Sheila's Cafe are a minute walk for a local feel.

Nice to have a hotel in Central London that is quiet, friendly, conveniently placed, super breakfast all wrapped in a reasonable and affordable price package. No problems here. Small hotel but ideal for a short stay.

We were shocked about the size of the room, but everything else about the hotel was great. We had excellent service for our entire stay (thank you, Silvio, for all your help and your kindness). The breakfast was very good, location, excellent and ease of getting to the hotel, excellent as well. It is an easy walk from the Lancaster Gate tube stop, right across the street from Hyde Park with nice restaurants in the vicinity.

We stayed 4 nights at The BWMornington Hotel and loved it. Staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms very comfortable and the buffet breakfast very filling. It is situated near 2 tube stations and near Hyde Park.

This is very well located next to the subway, Hyde park , pubs and restaurants. Our first room was impossibly small but we were moved to a lovely room for the rest of our stay. Staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent even if the staff were a little agitating in their pretending to be awfully busy.

i stayed here many years ago and had a favorable recollection of it. this time it wasn't quite as i remembered. the rooms were very small, beds were very hard and as one reviewer mentions, not anchored to the floor. the hotel inexplicably turned off the air conditioning in our room, which they promptly turned back on (from reception) after we protested. the rooms were somewhat drab -- seems like it's time for an overhaul. the hotel seemed a bit tired and showing its age.

A fabulous stay at Best Western Mornington! Thank you! And a great London stay. The stay, staff, and housekeeping were the best and so kind. They gave us a bigger room when they saw we were taller folks and staying longer, and they took such wonderful care us and our room since we were under the weather/colds from traveling. Can't recommend enough! Also great location to tube and Paddington Station. Great area and nice to be close to Hyde Park. Simply the best, Thank you Best Western Mornington!

Within the first half of September 2019, we stayed six (6) nights at this property. As we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary, the hotel provided wine in our room to welcome us. This was greatly appreciated. The front desk staff provided a warm welcome as we checked in. They arranged to have our room ready for us before noon so that we could rest following our transatlantic flight from Boston. The hotel is conveniently located near Paddington station, which is a 5 to 8 minute walk away. Also convenient is the Lancaster Gate Underground station, less than 5 minutes away - as is the beautiful Hyde Park. By American standards, the rooms are small, but very adequate. The buffet breakfast provided more food and choices than one could handle, including eggs prepared to your liking, squeeze it yourself orange juice, flaky croissants, smoked salmon, three types of cheeses (including Brie and Swiss), fresh fruit, sliced peaches and fruit cocktail, yogurts, etc. There is a great British pub immediately behind the hotel, called the Mitre. Good food, draft beer and cider, and atmosphere. Try it. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spotless. There is a library/bar on the ground floor adjacent to the reception area. Flavor infused cold water awaits you at the reception desk, as well as a newspaper in the area.

I went to sit on the bed, and the bed slid, was not anchored. The front desk called to see if our room was satisfactory, and I mentioned the bed slid on the floor. We were offered another room, however when I asked if there was a queen sized bed, I was told there was nothing larger than the bed we had. So, we just stayed - room 411. With two adults, sleeping in a full size bed, did not get a restful sleep.

We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions this month. On the first occasion, we had an Executive Standard room on level 5. We found the room to be rather small for two people, and difficult to find enough floor space for two open suitcases. The bathroom is modern and worked well, although the water pressure could be better. Perhaps a London problem? The bed was okay, and the room was clean. Lightning in the room was dim, but this is a common problem in hotel rooms.and no hooks on the walls - again, a common problem in hotels. The lifts failed to work one evening, apparently due to a local supply issue, so we had to find our way down and up a maze of fire escape stairs. We did see an electricity company van in the street, so this was not a fault of the hotel. It would have been helpful if the staff had put signs on the lifts advising that they were not working, rather than making guests return to their rooms to ring reception to find out why the lift hadn't showed up. Then there's the decor. The front facade is magnificent, and the ground floor reception area and library/bar are fitted out to a standard in keeping with this grade 2 listed property, but the rest of the place has been fitted out with cheap, laminate furnishings. Reception staff were helpful and Giuseppe went out of his way to assist on both occasions. During our second stay, we had an Executive Suite on level 1. This was a loft arrangement with the bedroom upstairs and a living room and bathroom downstairs. There is a double height window facing the street. The decor was much more in keeping with the age of the hotel, room lighting was excellent and there was adequate floor space for luggage. Top marks! Breakfast in both cases was good. The breakfast room is located on the basement floor, so no natural light. Newspapers were available and staff were attentive. The hotel is well located for a long walk to Oxford Street and other CBD attractions. Being a block back from Bayswater Road meant that we heard very little trafic noise in our room. We will stay there again.

Very good hotel, great access, good breakfast, nice room for a single person not staying too much time in the hotel itself. Clean, simple and not expensive. Minor things could be improved - Orange juice or even cold water at breakfast, better internet connection without a sign-in page, a place to hang hand towels in the bathroom, ...

A one night stay in a smallish single room was very comfortable and quiet. Good teasmade and TV, but shower poor, coming in busts of really hot then cold. A good bar with reasoable prices and comfortable seats. Breakfast very good No other facilities used (if they existed!)

The rooms and services are very good and it is a wonderful hotel. It is very close to Paddington Station, Hyde Park, subway station and bus stop.It was also very helpful to leave my luggage until I left London after checkout. The breakfast was also very good.

Excellent, friendly staff and good standards throughout. The breakfast was substantial, with quality cooked food and a good range of cereals. Location is also great for access to central London via the Central line Underground which is about 4 minutes from the hotel. Room had a safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, kettle for tea and coffee.

A cosy hotel. All the staff were lovely from cleaners, breakfast staff and management. They are a credit to the owners, I hope they are appreciated as the faces of their business. Wander through Hyde park or along the back streets of Hyde Park village. Catch a bus or tube to town. Well connected and easy walk from Paddington Station. Cafes pubs and restaurants within a few minutes stroll. A quiet and safe area. Probably my favorite location for a London stay.

We stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Mornington and enjoyed the experience. The room was modern, fresh and clean. Certainly not a big room though plenty of room for 2 people in London. The bed was very comfortable our first night we arrived after 12 hour flight! We slept well - thank you. Staff very welcoming and happy to assist us throughout our stay. We had breakfast at hotel both mornings, the staff were attentive and food was fresh and delicious. There was no restaurant at hotel so we ventured outside to find somewhere to eat and came upon a “Pub” just around the corner- great staff, food and English atmosphere. Transport was very easy to get to Lancaster Gate 3 minute walk and Paddington Station a very easy 10 minute walk. Would stay and recommend this Hotel while in London.

We stayed here last weekend and the hotel staff were very attentive. Our room was a good size for London and was quiet. The bed was very comfortable and so we had a good night's sleep. Everything we needed was to hand. The breakfast was good, and there was plenty of choice. I can recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is good, close to stations and bus stops. Very near Kensington Gardens , look on the railings outside on a Sunday as there are loads of paintings displayed for sale.

I quite enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. Location was brilliant almost right across from Hyde Park and close to transport and shops/cafes. The room was modest in size but typical for the area, but clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable Unfortunately during this stay the air conditioning console for my room could only be adjusted from the front desk. The internet was also down for most of my 2 night stay, but this was out of the control of the hotel. As a compensation for my inconvenience, the manager kindly offered me a very late check out the next day which I greatly appreciated! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the in room food which I found very tasty and reasonably priced. I would stay here again!

Staff was very nice, helpful and polite. Location is very good, close to public transportation and Hyde Park. The room was quite small, so was the bathroom. No water bottles in the room and no mini bar.

Money was stolen out of my room by cleaning staff and manager was rude and unfriendly when we told him of the issue. We were told it was out of his control and unlikely it would have been one of his staff members (as if to say we were making it up). I travel a lot and never have I experienced such an unprofessional and uncaring approach in reconciling such a major issue. In saying that I have never experienced theft from my hotel room either. I am still waiting on reimbursement from the hotel. Other than stealing money from my wallet, it was also apparent that the cleaning staff had been through my luggage too! I found a dirty rag in my suit case which gave away that it was obviously them who had been through my belongings. The manager was indifferent about attempting to solve the issue and didn't seem particularly sympathetic toward our situation. Do not stay here and if you do, be sure to store valuables safely!
