"Used to be fantastic but now awful"

This hotel was always my go to place when visiting Liverpool. It is now shambolic to say the least. The last few times I've stayed there now it has been full of Homeless people. I even had to complain last time but drug left overs being on the table in the room and wee on the bathroom Floor. Really shocking now and it's a shame because it used to be fantastic. Maybe management over the PST year or so? One to avoid for the future unfortunately

We had 1 night stay on Friday 18th December. It was a groupon deal. It is a lovely old building converted into a lovely hotel. Covid restrictions were well-maintained throughout our stay. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very good very large TV and lovely bathroom. All essentials as needed were in the room. We had also booked the 3 course meal off groupon. The dining room was very plush. The brasserie staff were great, very friendly and we were well looked after. Have to say that this 3 course meal was exceptional, so compliments to the Chef. We both paid a small extra charge for the steak(£3) and it was cooked to perfection.. Breakfast the next day was one of the best that I have had in a hotel. All in all, the hotel, the room, the staff we met and the food was exceptional. Well done

"Afternoon tea "

Went here on Thursday 17th December for afternoon tea that I had as a gift. I can't believe we have a hidden gem like this right in the city centre. The service was excellent from the minute we walked in to when we left. The amount of food we had was unbelievable. I couldn't eat it all there was that much and very tasty. I've already recommended it to all my friends. Definitely will be back. Thank you team Richmond

"So disappointing just a shambles ....."

Shambles - We booked 1 night here as a birthday treat and a post lockdown get out of the house, I am so disappointed as never in my life have I checked out of a hotel without staying. Upon arrival there was a large que for check in however in these COVID-19 times is something that was not an issue. Check in eventually was smooth and we were given our room key, upon arrival in the room it was not the balcony suite that we had booked and barley had an opening window let alone a balcony, we returned to reception where it was informed to us that ‘Andy' then manager had over-ridden our booking and moved our room – Andy however at check in time was on his break and not contactable which considering his ‘authority' I thought was slightly out of order. At no point when we checked in and paid the balance for the balcony suite was this adjustment mentioned or reflected in the price. Troy who assisted us was very helpful despite him actually being the head chef and managed to find a balcony suite and reallocate our room. We entered the rooms and appearance seemed good however we turned the TV on in the sitting area and this was all smashed on the screen and had no signal, the TV in the bedroom had no remote and again no signal. TV normally is not important however because of COVID-19 restrictions we had a reservation in the hotel restaurant and planned on spending the rest of the evening in the room as we could not really go out into Liverpool. We returned to reception with photographic evidence of the TV and asked could the signal at least be fixed, it was now nearly 2hours after arrival at the hotel and we had been up and down and moved to two rooms. We requested that the TV be looked at whilst we went shopping as this was our intention when in Liverpool. Upon returning to the room after brief shop the TVs had not been fixed. We are local to Liverpool and this was meant to be a stress free night away from home to celebrate my birthday and so far its been more like faulty towers – We returned to reception and were then told that none of the TV were working and its an issue. Fortunately we were given a full refund and we left to return home as the experience filled me with no hope that the meal would be as disastrous as our initial interactions. In the short time we were in the building at least 2 other couples who had checked in also checked straight back out so I can only assume despite the previous glorious reviews the current hotel has some serious issues however I have learnt that in the pandemic the hotel may have been used to house people and that there has been a lot of anti-social behaviour – this could be why the standard of the hotel has been lowered. On our several trips through the corridors there was dirty linen everywhere, housekeeping trolleys still all over the place and this was gone 17:00, housekeeping and dirty linens should have been very much away from the guest rooms by this time. It's a shame and I hope they get back on track however currently I would advise that people stay well away. I will say though that Troy was excellent with his customer service and we did get a refund.

Firstly I have to say the guy at reception did bend over backwards to try and help us and was lovely, none of this is his fault and entirely down to poor house keeping, utilities and the hotel being over sold on booking.com with higher stars than what it should be. We ended up getting a refund and going home after attempting to change rooms 3 times. Our first non smoking room was in a hall with smoking so the whole room stank, our second room had poo splatters in the toilet bowl.. yes seriously! Third room the TV didn't work and the room was dirty. The carpet needed a good Vacuum I picket chewing gum off the floor and the bathroom floor was also dirty. I feel the biggest concern here was hygiene, particularly in a pandemic. I have to say in all honesty I've stayed in hotels in third world countries that were cleaner.

Stayed in during lockdown for business, different with very few guests but the team were ever the professional and ensured my stay was a comfortable one. Good work! Breakfast was served to the room due to restaurant closure and was of good quality.

"Meal treat"

We had a three course meal at the hotel which was the best I've ever had. The decor of the restaurant was of a high standard. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend a visit.

Well, we weren't expecting that :-) First time to The Richmond and we'll be back very soon and also recommending to all our friends. Amazing value, lovely decor, superb quality food. A real surprise, what a secret gem of a place. Particular thanks to wonderfully friendly, helpful and efficient Bianca from South Africa - pretty much on her own but doing a faultless job waiting on. Well done, you're a credit to The Richmond. Oh and she also made sure that I was well catered for despite my Wheat Allergy.

I stayed here with my friend as a suprise over the weekend, it was her birthday so i arranged a birthday package for her with a lovely lady called Amanda who was really helpful. the room was decorated perfect and my freind was over the moon. We booked a meal in the restaurant and the food was amazing - I would definatly reccomend eating there. The manager ( forgot his name sorry ) was super helpful with anything that we required, really nice man. We love Liverpool and even in all the madness going on it didnt dissapoint, cant wait to return!

we stayed here as we cant travel far due to all these restrictions, but im glad we did now. Beautiful old building 5 mins away from the city centre. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. Staff where amazing, couldnt do enough for you Andy the manager was super friendly and really helpful. we have booked to come back next month as we enjoyed it so much.

"Best attention and location"

I´ve stayed few months ago before all the covid situation and I loved the location of the hotel, is very close to the city center and you can go walking everywhere. An special mention to Amanda, she was without doubt the best receptionist ever! Always asking us about our needs, anticipating doubts and always with a smile. She informed us about all the attractives and the tours in the city and told us nice options to eat in Bold st. She made our stay the best. Breakfast was ok, I specially loved the sausages!! The room was also very clean and tidy. Definetely I recommend the hotel for a stay in Liverpool, waiting for all the situation to get better and be back to the city soon! :)

Myself and my partner booked a couples night away in Liverpool. With different restrictions coming into play, the hotel were very unhelpful and weren't willing to offer a refund if unable to go. To what we thought was luck, we were still allowed to visit. We now, wish we never. It advertises parking, THERE IS NO CAR PARK. You are sent to a multi-storey car park, 3 blocks away. STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE A BIG CAR. The car park is tiny and the up and down sides to get to each floor are not built properly, that his has taken a huge chunk out of the bottom of my partners car. You can see all the colours and marks from other cars which clearly didn't fit. We ordered breakfast, £10 each. I WOULD CHOSE THE OPTION TO STARVE. Absolutely vile, ordered a full English and ate the toast. If you do unluckily end up here, please also check your bill after. It's been a hard few months for everybody which is understandable, but what a shambles this place is. The shower had limescale all over it, like howay, how hard is it to clean. P.S beware of the carpet, it's riding up everywhere, even on the stairs and is a massive health and safety risk.

Wow... It seems here that as you were unable to have your way and for us to refund you based on you booking a NON REFUNDABLE rate that we were never going to get a good review. Considering you only booked the room 5 WEEKS BEFORE you might of been better booking on the slightly higher rate but giving you the flexibility to cancel right up until the day prior. You seem to have a major gripe with the local car park and if too tight for your BIG CAR you could of always parked elsewhere. I am surprised by the breakfast as we do get many compliments however take the feedback on board but I do hope you liked the FULL REFUND we gave you for this. I hope you had a good journey home

Stayed here two nights on a Saturday/Sunday at a £126 for both nights it was very cheap as other hotels in the city wanted more than this for the one night !! It is a nice hotel with spacious room and very clean food was nice, drinks a bit expensive but as most hotels are!!! Would definitely recommend this hotel and only minutes walking distance to Liverpool's bars and restaurants only bad thing is the fridge didn't work !!

"Good hotel and location!"

Myself and my girlfriend booked to stay at The Richmond hotel for 2 nights as it really stood out to us. The receptionist was very welcoming and checked us in very efficiently! The room was very clean and plenty of towels were provided for our stay. The only downsides were some small items of improvement in the room (483): The wardrobe doors wouldn't shut properly and the handles weren't attached securely. The rooms were quite warm and when we turned on the air conditioning it felt as though nothing was coming out of the vent, so the room was still very warm. The shampoo/shower gel isn't screwed to the wall so one of them fell off after having a shower as it was stuck on with self adhesive. Other than that everything was great - food was delicious - strongly recommend the full English breakfast!

We booked an overnight stay via Groupon, which included breakfast 3 course meal and Prosecco On arrival I asked if we could exchange the Prosseco for wine and have with our evening meal.Caroline on reception said that wouldnt be a problem. We was allowed to leave our luggage as our room wasnt ready then went out for the afternoon. On return, we checked in with someone else on reception who was equally as helpful. Our room was spotless and perfect for an overnight stay. In the evening we had 3 course dinner which was absolutely beautiful and the waitress couldn't be more helpful. From start to finish the service was the best we have had in a very long time and would definitely return. Very close to all amenities. One definitely to visit. Thankyou Richmond Hotel.

"Amazing hotel"

Have just came back from a 2 night stay in the Richmond Apart-Hotel and was an overall great stay. All staff were brilliant, especially Carolina at reception who was extremely helpful. We had breakfast included with our stay which was delicious and included a huge range of options. The room we had was very spacious and clean, and came with a mini fridge which was a great bonus! Would definitely stay again!

"Fabulous staff and great location for a city break "

My friend and I stayed at the Richmond Apart-Hotel last night. We saw it advertised on Groupon and Wowcher with a great deal for bed, breakfast and evening meal with a bottle of Prosecco thrown in. We booked at short notice directly with the hotel who matched the deal and were given great advice about reduced parking at the Q Park a few minutes walk away. They can validate tickets for £15 for 24 hours which is good value for a city centre hotel. When we checked in we were given a warm and friendly welcome by the male receptionist. Check in was efficient and we were able to book our chosen time for our evening meal in the restaurant. There was a small mix up with our first room (131) as it hadn't been made up into a twin as we'd booked. After going back down to reception we were given a different room straight away. This room (154) wasn't as large as the first but it was only for one night and it was lovely and clean with a large flat screen TV. One thing it did lack for two females was a mirror in the bedroom next to a power point for hair/make-up but that's a small detail. We went down to the bar/restaurant and were greeted immediately and led to a table that was beautifully laid out. The bar man/waiter Nuno was great - very friendly and chatty. He brought our included bottle of chilled Prosecco to the table which we enjoyed with a super-tasty meal. The menu wasn't huge but there were several things on there that I could've picked which the sign of a great menu as far as I'm concerned. I had garlic mushrooms to start which were tasty . My friend had pate which she enjoyed. Our mains were equally as good - fish and chips and belly pork. There was a good choice of desserts but only one of us (me!) had enough space and my lemon drizzle pud with creme anglaise was gorgeous. We had a lovely evening but after wandering around the city all day we were ready for an early night. One of the single beds had a loud creak whenever I moved so I was very aware of this which affected my sleep as I didn't want to disturb my friend. It was very warm in the room after a lovely hot day but we didn't open the window in case it was too noisy so that was our decision. Breakfast this morning was good and beautifully presented. My poached eggs were hard unfortunately and the bacon a bit hard but it was still tasty. The waitress was friendly and welcoming although she should be aware that her mask needs to cover her nose and mouth and not just her mouth. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Richmond and would certainly recommend it to anybody who is looking for a great break in a fab city. I have to say that the Richmond have got a terrific team of staff. Check out by Carolina was efficient and friendly. Everybody we came across were professional and friendly which is unfortunately quite rare in some hospitality establishments so thank you for a great break. One thing I have to mention some others have is the fact that some homeless people are still being housed at this hotel who I assume were moved in whilst the pandemic was at its worst. While we understood why this was done, your paying guests should be made aware of this when booking. There were a few people wandering around with microwave meals and bags of bottles and a couple smoking outside the main entrance. The smell of weed drifting in from just outside the door was disgusting and horrible so please do something about this or you will lose guests who may be put off returning. It would be a real shame to ruin such a great hotel.

My husband and I decided to spend a couple nights at The Richmond in our trip to the UK and we had a great time. We experienced a lovely service from all the stuff specially the Spanish lady Amanda, she helped us out with all our questions. Our room had a great view, and it is perfectly located for walking distance. Looking forward to go back soon!

Arrived for an overnight stay and hotel looked lovely on outside and can't fault most of the staff. The food in the restaurant was good aswell Be warned the hotel let's homeless people stay and although I don't have any issues with that the people that come into the hotel of an evening are not the clientele you really want wandering the corridors when your in your room at night. There was three people let in when we was going out for a walk. They smelt of weed and also the lady was screaming across she still had half her bottle of vodka to drink. I understand what the hotel is trying to do but if they can afford things such as weed and vodka they have money The first room we was shown too stunk of weed and had a broken shower and door and was then taken immediately to a second. This room seems ok until shoes were off later that evening after settled in and we found toenails all over the floor and in the bed (which we took to reception). I would never stay again unless I could be assured that no one from the streets were coming in as you felt you needed to sleep with one eye open I have since had a refund through groupon as manager did agree to a full refund and also has said I can go back anytime to try the hotel again for free. That says it all really. Just such a shame as it's a lovely hotel but it lets itself down

"Lovely restaurant, great service"

Had a Groupon voucher for a 3 course meal with bottle of wine so went on a Wednesday evening for our anniversary. The hotel is attractive and the restaurant very well decorated with comfortable seating. We were served by Nunu who was very friendly, professional and helpful Our meals were very nice, garlic mushrooms and squid to start, burger and fish and chips for mains, and lemon drizzle cake and profiteroles for dessert. Food was nice but obviously bought in frozen or ready made rather than made to order in the kitchen restaurant, but it was very nicely presented. My husband particularly enjoyed his squid starter. I had the burger which was a bit dry, probably because it was in a pretzel roll which is dry in itself. The included Sauvignon Blanc wine was good. We had a good evening for a great price. Nice staff too.

My mum and I were in Liverpool for 2 nights last week and went to dinner at the Richmond both nights. We had struggled with getting same night reservations at other places because of COVID19 restrictions but when I called, I was greeted by the lovely NuNu who said that that he could accomodate us that evening. We had used a Groupon voucher so had the three course meal. On the first night, I had a liver pate starter, pork belly main and the profiteroles dessert. All yummy especially the sauce from the main! I cannot remember which starter my mum had but her main was the salmon and dessert was cheesecake - a meal which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We were not expecting to go back to the Richmond again, but after such a great experience and not finding anything online that would work for the following night, we went back again. The second night, I had the calamari, chicken main and cheesecake - all lovely but I preferred the starter and the main from the first night. The next evening was busier and NuNu was working in the restaurant and bar and though he was super busy serving by himself, he continued the same brilliant service with courtesy and a big smile. I had stayed at the Richmond a few years prior and though I enjoyed the breakfast, I hadn't enjoyed the dinner so was slightly hesitant to return but I was so glad we gave it a second chance. The food was great but the experience was made better because of NuNu's excellent service! Thank you! :)

We recently stayed at the Richmond and wow we were so happy! Our room was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were so helpful on our stay! We were made to feel at ease throughout our whole experience and we cannot wait to come back and stay here again! The food looked delicious too so will definitely be trying that next time.

"Luxury service for discount prices"

Have stayed here a few times over August for work purposes, staff, Andy, Amanda, Kevin are always so friendly and willing to go out there way to make you feel comfortable. The beds are nice and big and always have a great sleep. Breakfast is great I like the plated service, instead of the buffet style. Always easy to book and they look after thier regulars. Will continue to use and would definatly recommend to anyone.

Stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend for a weekend away, check in was easy lovely receptionist called Amanda, she was really helpful, rooms were clean and spacious , the bed was super comfortable! Went for breakfast next morning it was delicious, lovely staff We were served by Bianca, again really friendly. Overall a great experience, we will be coming back.

"Great facilities and great customer service."

I have stayed in many hotels in Liverpool throughout the years. I have been in this hotel for nearly a week now and I can not fault and part of it! If I've needed any help or required more towels, tea or needed anything fixing nothing has seemed to be too much trouble! Kevin has been extremely good with the customer service aspect of the hotel and he's a great credit to the hotel! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Bedrooms and bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous with a lovely decor! Definitely worth a trip too! The rooms are a big big yes from me and more importantly customer service and support is amazing!

From the check in to check out my stay was everything I could ask for and more. The night receptionist was professional, offering to help carry luggage up to room. The room service was quick and easy, he is a credit to the company. Will definately stay again.

Visited for afternoon tea for two on Saturday. The staff were welcoming and the service was good. The restaurant looked fantastic interior design wise. We were shown to our table and offered prosecco followed by the afternoon tea. Maybe it was a mistake and less staff at hand due to covid but the restaurant was not busy so I was shocked to receive hard cream almost frozen and no jam! I assumed we would be offered the option or given plain scoes and/or ones with raisin but it came with raisin only and that was very cold and hard. The sandwiches and sweet treats were lovely. Overall not worth the price. I was expecting more as the reviews and reputation of the restaurant was held at high standard.

Me and my wife came here for a 3 course meal that we had of groupon the food was really nice well presented my wife is lactose intolerant so when it came to the dessert there wasn't much choice so we asked the waitress to see if they had any dairy free ice cream to go with the dish she went missing for about 10 mins then the bar manger(NUNO) who was really nice came over to see if we had ordered there was a bit of a mix up in between this eventually the waitress came back with some dairy free ice cream which they manged to get for my wife which she really enjoyed there was 1 other small problem we asked for a mojito cocktail but they had no mint but for £9.00 a go i think they should have had all the ingredients at the end of the day it wasn't a big deal just 1 more note to thank NUNO the bar manger he was really nice an spoke to us about our night of which we had a nice time.

We would never stay here again. The room was rediculously hot with no breeze coming in and no air conditioning. It was supposed to be a 2 night break away from kids and restful but instead we had the two worst nights sleep waking up every hour because it was far too hot. We did ask for a fan which was delivered but the air coming out of it was as powerful as someone blowing out a candle. We left it on for hours and still no change but extremely noisy so we turned it off. To top it off we then got woken up at 8.45am from building work right out side our window. The late checkout was pointless because you were wide awake due to temperature and noise so early in the morning. Corridors also smelt very strongly of weed at points throughout the days. The room was basic. Nice bathroom but room was very dark. For £158 for 2 nights we were extremely unhappy and not rested! However, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was nice.

Met up with friends after not seeing each other for months, rooms and restaurant were great. Amanda checked us and her customer service was delightful. Rooms well stocked for everything needed. When checking in noticed maintenance work being carried out to complete a coffee and snack desk at the front entrance. Can't wait to return to see the outcome.

After looking at the hotel reviews on another site, we booked a Junior Suite for a couple of nights at 4 star prices. Upon arrival, check in was smooth but the room we were given was not what we expected plus grotty and dark. We moved upstairs to a better looking room, however there was large dry urine patches over the toilet seat. Given the current pandemic, we would expect even more attention to cleanliness. We went down to report this to reception and asked for the cleaners to go back in whilst we took a drink at the bar. The drinks and service were as expected and the waiter was attentive. However, whilst we were enjoying our drinks, another resident entered the restaurant claiming she had to do her washing, she soon returned with arm fills of washing asking about room service. Moments later a partially dressed lady walked through the restaurant. At this time, we began to think that the hotel was also supporting the homeless during the pandemic. We were not affected by this despite being disappointed by the price we had paid. We walked up to the tesco and there was a ruckus going on outside, the pair who were clearly under the influence walked into our hotel. They were followed by another guys who was literally'legless' struggling to walk. Again, no affect upon our stay. Upon our return to the room, the toilet seat had been cleaned. However, when ready to put the tv on, I had to clean old lettuce and grime from the remote control. There were sticky cup patches on the coffee table and food on the floor. We raised our third complaint before unpacking and asked for a refund. I believe the standards of going off those previous ones have dropped significantly. I think housekeeping need to be reviewed. Safety was also a concern. Another resident and yes I'm stereotyping who looked under the influence, went to reception, mentioned his key card wasn't working. He gave a room number and the receptionist recharged his key without asking a single security question such as asking his name! Please wait until standards improve before booking a stay here.

We stayed at the Richmond about 2 week's ago so we could go into town etc, the tv was terrible could barely see what was playing because of the glare off the light on the glass cover over the tv, some buttons on the remote didn't even work. The skinny bald man on reception was just rude, Oh and still to this day I haven't got my £100 deposit back, for the amount we have been messed around for this deposit I think we should get a full refund for the whole thing, never staying there again.

It is with a heavy heart that our views of the hotel replicate the earlier ones from other guests comments. Needless to say we were a bit disappointed with some of the issues we experienced during out first time visiting this beautiful City of Liverpool. However, I also need to express on a more positive note some of the good things this hotel has to offer. The room was clean and well enough appointed with a small balcony. Although we did have a few issues with the room I would hope that the points raised with the Manager, Joe will be rectified. The breakfast was fantastic!!! We loved the table service and the choice on the menu was very good. Nuno and Bianca were amazingly helpful and very professional as was Jade, (thanks for the coffees). The two Spanish girls, Amanda and Carolina on the reception desk were also very helpful. The hotel was well situated and great for getting out and about in Liverpool. If the issues in the hotel were to improve then we would return.

Stayed with a group of friends whilst visiting friends in the area for a long weekend and found The Richmond to be the ideal location from which to explore all the city has to offer. From the moment of check in the staff were nothing but friendly & attentive from the front door right through the the bar & restaurant. Food & Drink is reasonably priced and high quality for the location, and I've also stopped by just for an afternoon drink and/or light bite on occasion. Highly recommended!

We travelled as a couple for a few days away. The room itself a balcony suite was nice and suited our needs. The issues began when leaving the room. We were concerned on arriving at what appeared to be a drug transaction on the front of the hotel but dismissed it as passer by. However throughout our stay the smell of drugs wafted throughout the halls of the hotel. Individuals ignored requests of not joining other people in the lift due to Covid risks and would regularly step in unmasked. Me needing a double knee replacement was forced to take the four floors down to the exit via the stairs trying dodge the dangerous bulges in the red stairs carpets! On questioning the hotel reception we asked if families/homeless were being housed at the hotel. They confirmed this. I have no issue with this during the current climate, but the lack of disregard for the paying customer in my opinion is unacceptable. Customer s should be informed of this and as such make a decision if this is acceptable for them.

The worst experience in a 4*hotel I have Ever had. My wife and I arrived at reception after passing two guests outside the entrance smoking cigarettes in pyjamas f'ing and jeffing very loudly. After a fairly easy experience with the receptionist we walked to our room, it was a balcony suite. Opened the room door and Oh no, Smell of mould and cigarettes, flaked paint, Stains, burns on carpet and furniture, wonkey cupboards chipped worktops, mold, and bald worn patches on furniture seats. The concrete balcony flags were full of weeds and slippy moss. Not happy so Back to walking over the countless Crumpled creases and high waves of loose red hallway carpet to reception. Received another room key, back over the Red Sea of carpet past various cannabis smoke filled corridors dodging around sick stains and cigarette stench hallways to the next horrific surprise, a steel structure right in front of the patio of the next Room. The smelll of damp staleness paired nicely with no WiFi at all. Just when you think it can't get worse 8am KANGO TIME, as workman kango drilled a concrete wall To dust just 20 yards from our patio on the multi-storey worksite. This went on All day until 5pm. It was a two day trip away for some peace. The constant smell of cannabis and the super dodgy characters that adorned the front of the hotel made it feel as though you were in a halfway house rather than a hotel. There was a trail of blood from two streets away that led to the hotel enterance, I think it was usefull for some Of the guests to help them when they were crawling home but for me, well I found it quite off putting and slightly disturbing. To say this is supposed to be a 4*, 4 1/2*on booking dot con makes me seriously question the genuineness of the feedback and ratings For this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Hotel is in a good location as it's only a few minutes walk away from the city centre. Reception area was lovely & the dining area looked nice too, however the room itself could have been cleaner. The bed side tables were very dusty and the carpet was also quite dirty. Definitely needed a Hoover and a clean. Our room also had a broken window which wasn't too much of a problem for us as we like a cool room but we were unable to close it if we had wanted to. On the other hand the bathroom was great. Spacious & clean with a good shower, I just think the rooms and the corridors etc could do with a bit of a spruce up. Overall a pleasant stay but don't think we will be in a rush to stay here again.

Kevin who greeted me and checked me in provided excellent customer service in addition to being very helpful regarding visiting tourist attractions and general information about the City. Me and my partner had stayed here previous to our latest visit and had a lovely experience, we had booked an executive room (for our first visit) and received a gorgeous, spacious room on the first floor with a bath and a kitchen area. Hoping to receive the same on our second visit - We were met with disappointment to discover we were on the 4th floor, of which had no internet signal, no bath like we requested, the mini fridge absolutely stunk and the room was filled with the scent of weed from the apartment above us. As we were booking in for our stay there was a woman complaining about the same issue. Upon speaking to the reception desk we were met with a member of staff who flat out denied the scent, and did nothing but dismiss our claims about the above flat. Upon reading other reviews on the same day, we discovered that the Richmond is currently providing housing for the cities homeless; which, would not be a problem HAD we been made aware upon booking. To make the situation worse the same apartment above us was blasting music until 2am, and when attempting to ring reception to make a complaint (as the atmosphere in the hotel was far too dodgy to walk about) we didn't get through. Not to mention the housekeeping knocking on our door multiple times asking when we would be leaving the following morning. Me and my partner wanted a relaxing few days away and got the exact opposite - We definitely won't be staying here again, especially not for the price paid, the shocking customer service, lack of transparency and the inconsiderate noise from other hotel guests. Shocking. The experience that guests have seems to be very hit and miss.

Having stayed here before we thought we knew what to expect when we booked a balcony suite here. On arrival we were given key to a room that was damp smelly (cigarette smoke and mould)and frankly very dirty. After a few minutes of being told no other rooms were available we were moved to a much cleaner suite and we settled in. Wanting to take advantage of the sunny balcony we went out and was greeted buy an active building site literally 6feet away and guys with power drills removing concrete walls right outside our window from 8am till around 4pm. No mention of this at checkin. The smell of cannabis being smoked in and around the hotel was pungent and the feeling of walking into a crime drama every time we left the hotel due to the amount of drug dealers parked outside waiting for customers from the hotel was un-nerving to say the least. Liverpool council have housed there cities homeless at the Richmond hotel which they also don't mention on checkin. I understand. That during this covid outbreak measures had been taken to help them and that's great but I would like to have been given a choice on wether or not I would like to join them for my short holiday. All in all I would not go back again and would advise people to spend there money elsewhere.

We definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be back at some point...a central location and walking distance to all tourist attractions, places of interest. However, the main motivation for this review is to commend the excellent customer service from the whole team. Despite a few issues, some of which were out of the staff 's control, everyone went out of their way to accommodate us and help.... Amanda and Carolina on reception were fantastic and very professional, nothing was too much ţrouble. A special mention to Peter in housekeeping who bent over backwards to help us sort various things. including a fallen down curtain...We really appreciated the consistency of the staff during our 4 day stay, even down to Bianca on the bar who was very attentive and who makes a mean cocktail. We visited today for our wedding food tasting and wedding planning meeting...I am such a perfectionist but I was made to feel so at ease from the start. Nuno was fantastic, his customer service was second to none! Absolute credit to your hotel!! I cannot fault anything from our visit today. Troy our chef brought our food out for a tasting and each dish was spectacular. I just recently came back from a Richmond hotel and I have something to tell you. I have never seen such an interesting interior as this Hotel have. As soon as you enter the Hotel, you feel that you have gone back in time to the time when there were massive ceilings and spacious windows. But back to the point: My girlfriend prepared a surprise for me for my birthday. She booked a room and asked the staff for an early c / in because she wanted to decorate and prepare everything for my arrival. When she had called from the reception that our room was ready, my girlfriend came to the Hotel, where two employees were already waiting for her. Carolina from Reception and Peter from Housekeeping explained to her that they had prepared a small surprise for both of us. We had a beautiful room with a balcony, which we didn't expect at all, because my girlfriend only booked an executive room. Peter and Carolina explained to us that they wanted to make us happy and have a nice time at the Richmond Hotel. Before I arrived, Peter took my girlfriend to the room and showed her the room as well as explained what the room it contains. The room was beautiful with a high quality cleaning and a good smell. The bed was large and very comfortable It can be seen that the hotel takes care of its reputation during this pandemic. I appreciate the great standard and professional approach of these two employees, which made my birthday more enjoyable. We will definitely be back there one day James

Stayed here last weekend for a night with a friend. Room was lovely, hotel was clean and well kept. Staff were all friendly and helpful, espeshially Andy. Hotel is in a perfect location for a day out in Liverpool. Would definitely stay again.
