"Fantastic Stay once again.."
LazydaysSomtimes, 17 Avril 2024

A fantastic stay once again at Heywood House Hotel. A warm and friendly welcome with a smile from Alda on the reception team as well as her male colleague sadly I didn't get his name (my mistake). Nothing was too much trouble and we spent 3 nights here for the Grand National meeting. Hotel is in easy reach of Liverpool One for shopping and in agreement with other reviews there is plenty to offer in terms of restaurants and pubs to eat out at including the Alchemist which is joined next door. Room was cleaned daily and spotless on arrival. All the room technicians were polite and friendly and always said good morning when passing. Our room had a safe and Nespresso coffee machine for our use. All in all I would highly recommend the staff and the hotel and we look forward to our next visit. An Additional special note and a thank you to Alda on reception. It was really nice to see you when we checked in and during the course of our stay, your customer service is outstanding..!!!

"Good location hotel"
MaryDowding, 27 Mars 2024

I have stayed here previously as the location is near my office and walking distance to the docks. Lots of eateries to cater for different palates. The only downside is the noise level after midnight, when the restaurants are emptying their bins can be a deterrent to light sleepers

"Lovely building and central location"
joolz176, 22 Mars 2024

Regular visitor to the Haywood when working in Liverpool as central to pier head and Liverpool one Lovely old building with friendly staff. Very comfy beds too. Do miss the White Company toiletries they used to have in the rooms

"Location good, but hotel tired"
Jill U, 08 Janvier 2024

Overall fine for two nights, but didn't enjoy grab and go breakfast, reception dingy, rooms outdated, heating erratic - none at all in bathroom. Location though was good - two minutes from Liverpool James Street.

"Tatty and poorly maintained room."
sp1230199, 03 Janvier 2024

Booked a superior double and young man on reception was great. Me and my partner were both impressed by the building itself and some of it's features. However we did face several serious issues, I would appreciate if the hotel would contact me in regards to a resolution at sptraditional@outlook.com. Sadly room let down by cracks in sink and floor. Bluetooth speaker not working but still nailed to desk. Stain on sheets. And bottom of bath stained. Paint peeling on almost every accent in the room and bathroom. Sink also took over a minute to drain, making it impossible to have a shave as it would overflow, clearly blocked or needs repair. Should have been addressed before allocating room to us. Thermostat also would reset in the night so had to get up to turn the temperature down to get some sleep. Great location sadly let down by poorly maintained room. Also when booked it was advertised as including a grab and go continental breakfast, which was further confirmed with an email with no mention of a charge, however when we arrived we were told this was charged at £5.00 a head. The room should not be advertised as a superior room and charged a further premium over the standard when it is this poorly maintained with this many issues. A shame as the hotel was clearly impressive when first refurbished but it's clearly slipped into disrepair.

"Gem in Liverpool's Croiwn"
6026, 23 Décembre 2023

A gem of an hotel in a fabulous city. Literally no car needed, public transport, shopping, culture and heritage all virtually on the doorstep - indeed the hotel itself has history in this historic banking distri No food or drink service on site apart from in-room refreshments. No problem as there are cafes, restaurants, clubs and pubs a plenty within 10 minutes walk catering for every taste I know (and probably more I don't!). There is a door through from the Hotel to the Alchemist kitchen and bar, a reasonably priced quality gastro bar superb for an evening meal and/or drinks.

"Heywood House"
george b, 21 Décembre 2023

This was a Great Hotel, lovely large room, great, helpful staff. had a good night sleep, bedding clean and comfy bed, great central location. The Grab & Go continental breakfast exceeded expectation.Would visit again

"Convenient but very cosy city accommodation"
somewherenearhere76, 15 Décembre 2023

Lovely small hotel. Good bed, brilliant hot shower. City centre but very quiet location. Close to everything there is to see and do in Liverpool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Continental grab n go breakfast worked very well

"Nice but rather noisy at night"
Curious590416, 06 Octobre 2023

Lovely clean and bright rooms but noise from street was distracting - several nearby clubs playing loud music. The hotel advertised a breakfast at a nearby restaurant (The Alchemist) which in fact claims NOT to be a breakfast restaurant any longer. Wait time was long and food choices were limited. Go elsewhere.

"Choose carefully"
C H, 02 Octobre 2023

Hotel is ok - not one of BW's best. Noisy at night from street level. No lounge, no restaurant and the hotel points guests to the nearby 'Alchemist' for breakfast. No' recommended high price/low service.

"An amazing experience in city "
118harpreetk, 17 Septembre 2023

This hotel is probably the best hotel we stayed in. The service from beginning to end was 10/10. We booked for our wedding anniversary for a 2 day stay. The room is small but very very clean. The double bed was comfy and the bathroom was too. The hotel provides an iron and a hairdryer and water etc. The staff are very polite and friendly and always came straight to the desk when they heard us. Hopefully we will be back and we would definitely book again. The location is ideal. There's amazing food restaurants and bars round the corner literally on the next street and the shops are down the road.

"An excellent hotel experience"
MrsChrisW, 17 Septembre 2023

Lovely clean and comfortable hotel with interesting, though slightly bland, décor. We paid extra for a larger room though the room wasn't particularly large but was well situated. Friendly staff. A chambermaid hoped to see us again which is likely. We didn't have the continental breakfast as there are so many places to eat nearby. Handy for James Street Station and the waterfront museums. Only one hand towel provided though assume had we asked we could have had another. The complimentary toiletries were not sufficient. A small shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and conditioner between two. The television was oddly placed, no way could it be watched from the bed and the full length mirror was placed where there was insufficient room to stand back to get a good view.

"Very Good"
cmdevlin64, 10 Septembre 2023

We enjoyed a two-night stay at the Heywood House hotel. It's a historic building around the corner from the James Street rail station and a very short walk to the waterfront. Staff were friendly and accommodated our request for a quiet room on the top floor (some street noise was audible). We liked that the room had a small fridge. Although we did not try the pre-packed breakfast (£5 per person per day), we did have a good sit-down lunch at the next-door Alchemist restaurant.

"Vino and Grub"
neveaho2022, 30 Août 2023

Much needed romantic town break with my beloved, we are a farm couple traditionally and were in need of a romantic break for 2, the location is fantastic with being opposite M&S, near enough to walk to the promenade and enjoy a cheeky glass of vino and good grub in their restaurant after and the staff were happy to make food suggestions after we disclosed our dietary requirements as my boy is allergic to dairy, the breakfast was a buffet, best sausages we've had for breakfast in a long time! The room was clean, tidy and I found the disabled bathroom easy access for when I needed to utilise the wheelchair, that we had on own from a near by shop. Thank you team Premier Inn Ilse of Man for the best day on the island!

"Little hidden gem"
Hilary R, 22 Août 2023

My friends and I have stayed at Heywood House many times, and always keep returning due to the wonderful staff, competitive prices and where the hotel is situated. If you are visiting the M and S Arena, the Albert Dock or Liver Building and museums this hotel is a short walk away. Give it a try you won't be disappointed !

"Nice quiet hotel downtown Liverpool"
Odyssey40191032603, 21 Août 2023

This is a very nice hotel in the city centre. The street outside is one-way and quiet as the hotel. Clean, tidy and with fairly sizeable rooms. The hotel lacks some services as bar and breakfast but there are many places nearby.

"Good location"
vickyst123, 13 Août 2023

Lovely clean hotel in ideal location right in city centre. Only issue is the pub next door which has loud music playing until 2am (we stayed Friday and Saturday ) this would put us off staying again Staff very friendly , docks five min walk away

"Fab!"
JulieandShaun7771, 27 Juillet 2023

Lovely hotel. Fabulously located, right by Liverpool One, James Street train station and Albert Dock. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The shower was excellent, very powerful and piping hot. Would definitely book again!

"Great service"
Light14, 12 Juillet 2023

Please don't be put off by the exterior. This hotel is in a great spot. It's clean. The staff are just fantastic, so very helpful, friendly and extremely polite. I wish the standard of service provided could be replicated by all!

"Work stay"
Andrew-Leakey, 09 Juillet 2023

Great place to stay in the business district. Left my bag at 9am and given a room key. Got back from work event at 915pm and got into the room. Both staff were great & so helpful. Room was a good size. Bed v comfy. Good nights sleep. There was a bit of nightclub noise at first then all fine. Good shower in the morning. Didn't stay for breakfast as it was only a continental. Reasonable price as well.

"I would stay again!"
MrsFielding23, 08 Juillet 2023

Lovely staff, allowed us to hold our bags pre check-in and after we'd checked out so we could explore without our luggage! We stayed on the 2nd floor and our room was lovely, clean & tidy. We'd seen some reviews about noise, but it's to be expected when you're staying in a city centre?! We had some noise disturbance following the end of a concert but as we'd only just got in ourselves it wasn't really disruptive at all! Staff really were lovely, and super helpful, I would definitely stay here again.

"Noisy hotel location with poor customer service"
Rob S, 04 Janvier 2023

One of the very worst nights sleep ever. Very noisy outside until the early hours - appreciate hard for the to control - but annoying none the less However, the was a more annoying buzz/drone in the room which was dreadful. Sounded like air con machines outside I mentioned this upon checkout and also email the hotel and have not received any response

"Excellent"
jeff m, 30 Décembre 2022

We stayed for one night mid week and it was excellent. Got a good deal with groupon and had bottle of wine and breakfast in a bag included. Our room was spotless with plenty of space. Good selection of hot drinks in room. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

"Very welcoming"
samanthaengland28, 25 Décembre 2022

Fantastic hotel. Really enjoyed the facilities and location. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely return. Received a free on the go breakfast. This was excellent. Contained 2 pasties, a yogurt, a cereal bar, an apple and a small bottle of fresh orange.

"Liverpool"
Pete H, 22 Décembre 2022

Don't take room 310, the hotel aircon unit is on the roof above it & sounds like a sonic boom in the middle of the night everytime it starts up, which is quite frequent. Street noise is ridiculously loud. Also no wifi available for the whole 19 hours of my stay. Then to top it all off, I asked where to go for breakfast & was given a brown paper bag containing a packed lunch !! Won't be booking here again.

"Good Location, Pleasant Staff, Enjoyable Stay"
MisterCheeky, 13 Décembre 2022

My wife and I stayed here for one night (Thurs). The overall hotel experience was very good. There is not much to add too the previous five star reviews. Great location, room, staff, price etc. I would not hesitate to recommend Heywood House.

"Heywood house stay"
stephenevens, 09 Décembre 2022

Location perfect, staff friendly went out of their way to help , spotless clean would stay again next Time we're in Liverpool .the hotel is a short walk to the cavern club,to the waterfront with all the old Beautiful buildings ,the liver building Cunard building, and so many more, the town hall is well worth a Look to it's beautiful inside

"Lovely Hotel"
ChrisMc55, 04 Décembre 2022

Friendly staff, knowledgeable about the area, great room, very satisfied with my stay, the amenities in the room were first class. Check in and check out were very quick and efficient. I would definitely stay here again

"External noise is a real problem"
boysonny, 03 Décembre 2022

I didn't enjoy my stay. The hotel is close to the city centre, and bed/bathroom are good. But 1. it's beside a club or pub that blasts music until 1am (mid-week, not just at the weekend). The bass carried into my room and there was no way of getting to sleep. Awful. 2. breakfast is a bag with dried porridge, pastries, fruit and juice - all very sweet and not great for days on end. No fresh coffee - just what you have in the room already. 3. there's not enough light to see anything in the room

"Excellent Value"
Ellice89, 03 Décembre 2022

Friendly/professional service. Clean and comfortable Good location. With a late check out, we could sleep in and go for breakfast without taking our luggage, very convenient. An overall good experience, would definitely return.

"Christmas Market stay"
danemcilwaine28, 30 Novembre 2022

Hotel was very beautiful and the staff go above and beyond in making your stay the most enjoyable and relaxing as it can be. It's in an amazing location right outside the train station and less than a 10 minute walk to the town centre. I will 100% be staying here again.

"Great location and fantastic hotel"
jo4nne, 28 Novembre 2022

Great recent visit with my mum, hotel is perfect location for Albert docs, Liverpool one and cavern quarter. The hotel has everything you can think of, decor is lovely and fresh, rooms and communal areas are spotless and reception staff are just great. Look forward to another trip with friends soon

"Friendly Staff but not a “4-Star” Hotel"
Peter C, 10 Novembre 2022

Staff were very friendly. Especially Chris who was very informative and welcoming. However, I was quite disappointed for a supposedly “4-Star” Hotel. Firstly, the lack of amenities definitely put this place 3-Star at best. The room itself did not feel very clean and was quite noisy from the surrounding clubs. Sheets and cases weren't the cleanest, mattress was definitely not comfortable. Bathroom tiles were mouldy with previous occupant's hair left stuck on. My main problem is parking. I was given a voucher to get 30% off at Liverpool One, as they don't have their own parking, only to find that's it's invalid when I attempted to pay at the car park. I tried to give them an opportunity to resolve this privately but have yet to receive a response, hence leaving this review. Overall rather disappointed with the experience and would not recommend.

"Great location"
simonblue12, 01 Novembre 2022

Great price, had late check out and a bottle of wine, great location. Friendly staff and clean room. Would definitely recommend and I would definitely stay there again. Close to the docks, shops and all bars and clubs

"Great hotel, value location and staff"
Stlo01, 11 Octobre 2022

A great place to be located for touring the sites. Car parking is off site in the new shopping car park. Discounted rates. Very helpful staff - better that tourist information centre were. Great value. Would come back here without hesitation.

"Over charged"
angelanewPL125, 11 Octobre 2022

We booked this hotel and were bitterly disappointed with the service, room, price and everything. Overcharged for a pokey room, even though supposed to be superior. Then a couple of days before we arrive we got an email asking it we want to upgrade as a standard room had been booked. Not happy at all with this hotel and booking. I spoke to a girl there and was told she assured me should would get back to me but didn't. A credit car payment was sent to this hotel for £233 for 1 night. Dont know how it happened.

"Another great stay at Best Western"
D8849IAbarbaras, 01 Octobre 2022

Very nice hotel located for easy sightseeing. Staff very helpful. A real price performer. Near transportation and museums. I'd go back in a heart beat. Saw lots of Beatles stuff. Hop-on/off bus a good way to start.

"WORTH A VISIT"
TRAVELMANDerby, 27 Septembre 2022

We stayed at the Heywood twice within 4 weeks and both times had no complaints. The rooms are good and clean with a nice bathroom. You can take breakfast in the bar next door, it is accessed by a door from reception, were you can also relax with a drink or two. It was well situated for our needs being only a short walk to Liverpool 1 shopping area. Parking is in the Liverpool Q park on the Strand and you get 30% discount from the hotel.

"Absolutely perfect"
518jop, 13 Septembre 2022

Excellent hotel Very quiet, no noise from outside or other guests Very comfortable room Staff are very friendly Perfect location Will definitely use this as our go to hotel for all future Liverpool trips Ideally placed for Albert dock city centre and Matthew street

"Birthday overnight stay"
WullyGraham, 20 Août 2022

Hotel is in a great location, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Check in/out was very quick; Staff also organised balloons, banners and Prosecco in the room for arrival. Room was on the top floor with a balcony/terrace with seats and table. Would stay again. .

"lOCATION PERFECT"
S1554ZIpat, 08 Août 2022

The location for this hotel was perfect, 2 mins from the station. You could walk into town and the docks, restaurants and pubs were nearby. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was fine it was a grab and go which we already knew about.

"Ms"
christinenQ2269BZ, 21 Juillet 2022

The bed was clean and cosy, bathroom was nice and clean but the carpet was dirty and stained and also net curtains, the hotel stair carpet was dirty too. There was no cooked breakfast, it was a grab and go breakfast, if we had known this we would not have booked.

"Superb little hotel"
Debbie W, 05 Juin 2022

What a little gem. Great central location, clean rooms, friendly staff. No breakfast facilities but a very good grab and go breakfast is available. Hotel is near loads of bars and restaurants and a 5 minute walk to the docks do close to the ferry and all the museums.

"Incredible, dedicated staff"
Johnnyboy236, 24 Mai 2022

I travel a lot for work, constantly on the lookout for Hotels with the X Factor! doesn't have to be posh or expensive but does need to provide exceptional value. This hotel is one of the best, right in the centre, my room is beautiful and homely but the helpfulness of the reception staff has been incredible. Great local knowledge and customer service you probably wouldn't get at a bigger place. I heard a receptionist laughing and joking with some foreign visitors ( in their native-French tongue. Its quiet too! You won't regret it, stay here!!!!!!

"Good as always"
BrutusOslo, 24 Mai 2022

This is a hotel we keep coming back to. Not because it is fancy but because it is a nice, clean and very friendly place. Rooms are, perhaps, basic but has all you need and are spacious and clean. Bathroom as well. Staff is always very helpful and smiling. 4 of the rooms are balcony rooms, slightly bigger with a nice, little balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee. I recommend paying the little extra. Location is excellent as well. As a extra plus, there are nice pubs/restaurants next door, inluding our favourite waterhole «the slaughterhouse», said to be Liverpool´s oldest pub.

"Great rooms, food and staff"
Julie M, 18 Mai 2022

Highly recommend great value for money and super location for city centre. Had evening meal and breakfast both meals were superb. Many thanks to our cheery server frpm the Emerald Isle excellent service .

"Friendly staff, great value"
MollyDonut, 10 Avril 2022

Really good value. This hotel has got all the basics right for a good price. It's not a 5star plush hotel but it gives you a good night's sleep and everything in the room was in good working order. Would stay again.

"Night away in Liverpool"
camilleje, 13 Mars 2022

Lovely, quirky hotel in a great location. Friendly and helpful staff who replaced our broken kettle and looked after our bags for the day while we explored Liverpool. The hotel is noisy at night due to proximity to a bar but it wasn't a problem for us. A buffet style hot breakfast would be a nice addition, although guests can get 25% off the cooked breakfast at the neighbouring bar.

"Fantasy hotel"
G7974TNjohnh, 02 Mars 2022

We stayed for 3 night in a standard room and it was great. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Everything you need to see in liverpool especially if you are a Beatles fan is on your doorstep. Take in the vast high street or go for a stroll around the Albert dock and Mersey . What ever takes your fancy. Lots of local pubs too including a wetherspoons. We had such a great time we are going back.

"Clean and well situated."
IanStHelens, 21 Février 2022

Hotel is very clean and well situated. There is no parking on-site but there is a car park just around the corner. Not being able to have a cooked breakfast is a bit of a let down but this is clearly stated on the website. We visited on a Sunday so the price was a lot lower but I'm not sure it would be worth paying the Friday/Saturday prices for it.

"Checked out after one night"
jennyk174, 20 Février 2022

Breakfast grab bag, paid for not received even when we asked about breakfast at reception. Noise until about 2am from pub below. Never mind the couldn't give a toss receptionist on Sunday 20th morning!! Never mind having to pay for the second night when we checked out. Best Western boutique hotel, I've stayed in better hostels!! They used to be a trustworthy chain of hotels it's a shame they're gone downhill.

"Great hotel at traditional heart of THE Port City"
6026, 15 Janvier 2022

Ideally located within walking distance of city centre attractions and shops, main Riverside attractions and ferries. For further afield Buses, the Merseyrail network and Lime Street station serve the whole of Merseyside and further afield. Comfortable, well appointed but still no meal service.

"Can't wait to come back"
Companion42948292466, 19 Décembre 2021

Well what can I say? We have just returned from heywood house and what a wonderful stay we had. There where a few things on the lead up to the booking that we didn't like, when I called up to sort a few things out I always got Jamie on the phone. He really needs to look at his customer service skills. Once we got to the hotel we where welcomed by Iona and she could do enough for us during our stay, her customer service was outstanding. Me and my partner stayed at heywood house for our anniversary and also to attended a concert in the city centre. We ask about an upgrade to a balcony and Iona and Chris the night man yet again amazing guy, where more than happy to upgrade us. Would definitely recommend a balcony room. On our check out we where checked out by a gentleman call James and he was so lovely as well. Asked if we had a nice stay and that's always nice. The rooms are so nice, lovely comfy bed, nice big bathroom with an amazing deep bath. The white company toiletries, and complementary crisps, water and coke and that was a lovely surprise, we also had a fridge in the room. With working in hotels myself and know people always want a fridge in there room Thanks so much for making our stay amazing Iona, Chris and James We can't wait to come back

"Really really noisy and smelly drains all for a not bargain price!"
museummummy, 29 Novembre 2021

On the face of it a really lovely place to stay, but.... I've stayed in city centre hotels in Liverpool and around the world and I've never stayed in a room where I can't actually hear the TV because of the noise coming from next door. Our room sounded like it was directly above a nightclub. This is marketed as a Best Western Signature hotel - a boutique hotel. It was far from it. When we arrived we specifically asked is it a quiet room - it was a special occasion and we really needed a break. We were told yes it's very quiet. It wasn't! Impossible to sleep until about 2. We asked about moving rooms and were told the only other room available was even more noisy. On top of this, the smell coming from the bathroom drains was noticeable even when the door was closed, so although you're in a lovely room, it's not relaxing, you can't sleep, and it smells pretty bad. I don't write bad reviews - I always think it could be a one off if something's gone wrong. But this wasn't a one off, that must be happening to everyone who stays in that room at least. And when we raised in on leaving we were told there was no-one who could discuss it with us and given an email to contact. Suspect this happens a lot and it's their way to get rid of any customers who aren't happy spending £150 to be kept awake all night and smell the drains! There was one really helpful member of staff, and they provided us with ear plugs straight away - never a good sign when ear plugs are so readily available - the ear plugs didn't block the sound. I'd ignored the other reviews that said it could be noisy as you expect a bit of noise, but you don't expect the experience we had. Live and learn eh.

"Liverpool stay"
926ljohnson14, 27 Novembre 2021

Hotel was exceptionally clean and friendly. The room was spotless and looked lovely on arrival. Very good value overall. Very good position not far from the Mersey and all amenities. Very Good overall

"Rude Receptionist, doesn't deserve the job."
LPorterxo, 27 Novembre 2021

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night this week and the girl on reception was awful. She told us that we didn't have a booking with them so we got the confirmation to show and she accused us of lying. After about 10 minutes she FINALLY found our booking but didn't offer us an apology. Already a disgraceful start to our trip. She practically threw the key card at us and didn't even tell us to enjoy the stay before walking into her office. The room was adequate, nothing special but it was OK for us. My boyfriend wasn't happy with how this woman treated us at reception and went to ask for the manager. She told us she was the manager and we were shocked. We asked her name and she said it was something like Eyona, no company should have a manager that treats guests this bad. We are the ones paying your wages and think it is only fair for some form of compensation. I would avoid this hotel at all costs, if it weren't for the night staff who had a lovely conversation with us and the lovely lad who checked us out the next morning. Sad that 1 person can ruin your whole trip.

"Fantastic stay reasonable price"
Danitaz84, 23 Novembre 2021

Fantastic stay so cheap and room was lovely no issues at all staff were lovely and helpful. Room was clean bottle of wine on arrival, very quiet area, walking distance from shops and amenities. Very happy.

"A very good stay"
BrutusOslo, 21 Novembre 2021

If all you require is a good, clean and centrally located hotel in Liverpool, this is your place. Nothing fancy - a basic, good hotel. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the Matthew Street party area, to Liverpool One shopping, Albert Dock and most other attractions. Next door is a great pub; The Slaughterhouse, where we enjoy our breakfasts. Sure, it can be a bit noisy sometimes on Friday night but that is the price to pay for being centrally located. Great, friendly staff.

"A good stay "
Roving47768798377, 20 Novembre 2021

Great place to stay for a night out in Liverpool. Clean, spacious rooms. Great staff. Brilliant location. Despite the info sheet in the room stating they don't hold bags, staff were happy to keep hold of them so we could enjoy the following day sightseeing and shopping in Liverpool. Nip next door to The Slaughterhouse for a good breakfast.

"Great Hotel and Location!"
markeB1259KD, 17 Novembre 2021

nearly walked past the entrance, although not hidden away the front door is discrete. Reminded me of a stage door! Inside however completely different, really nice looking reception and although I suspect we were upgraded, the room was terrific. good size room with safe and a cooler if not a mini fridge. Bathroom had plenty of room with both a huge rolled bath and separate shower and had a cool wee night light so that you didn't need to fully wake up with a harsh full bathroom light. Location wise is perfectly central for most if not all tourist things in 5-10 minute walks. Hotel had provided helpful attractions sheet and although not recommendations worthwhile following. the only negative was the brown bag breakfast of apple, juice, yogurt and croissant. it's a fiver charge and not really worth it especially when you can get a full cooked breakfast for not much more, (pub next door charges £7.95 for instance).

"Clean and great location for tourists."
CBE_Labour, 11 Novembre 2021

A well placed budget hotel. Near to the docks and the Cavern. At less than £50 for a mid week visit I was delighted to see well stocked tea, coffee and hot chocolate tray. No mini bar, robes or that sort of stuff and I would not have wanted it. Bathroom and room was clean. If I visit again I'd book this Hotel.

"Stayed for two nights.Hotel location excellent for city centre shops and bars etc."

Hotel staff very friendly and approachable.Hotel room was good what we had.Second night had problem with toilet and where changed to another room. Second room was small and very nosey. Fan noise all night in shower, tiles loose in shower cubicle and very stuffy room, bottles dropped in bins until early hours from nearby bars.Refuge men emptied bins 5.30 in morning making a lot of noise. Don't think room was value for money on second night, was told at check out to mention we had a issue with room when we stay again and they could aaply discount. Why not apply discount on this visit.!!!

"Great hotel"

Staff give us a map mark places of interest. Explain the area . Nothing was to much trouble for them . Hotel is in a great place . Going back to it . We slept well at nite . Room was quite . Bed very comfortable. Happy days .

"Central & Comfortable"
Pinacoladahunt, 15 Octobre 2021

Great room with exceptional shower (nice and powerful). Staff were lovely and could not fault this hotel at all. Our room was directly above The Alchemist cocktail bar, but noise was not a problem (we stayed on a Wednesday night) Very central location and there is a fantastic pub next door with friendly staff where you can get a cheap full English breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

"Lovely!"
SimonR576, 10 Octobre 2021

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Great location for eating and drinking too.The rooms were kept wonderfully clean and an added touch of the complimentary goodies in the mini fridge.

"Disappointed"
RuthRandle83, 01 Octobre 2021

What an absolute let down. Arrived and room wasn't ready at 3pm so couldn't check in until after 4pm. No phone call to make us aware of delay. Paid extra for romantic experience but it wasn't as advertised. Asked to speak to a supervisor/manager but was told as it was out of hours no one would be contacting me. It wouldn't of been out of hours if we were able to check in on time! Sink in room also blocked. Paid for balcony room although room seems small. Not happy and no one from management seems to care, just been told to send an email! Will be raising my concerns again tomorrow. Don't bother booking, I'm expecting a refund.

"Enjoyable stay"
JonBarden, 30 Septembre 2021

Conveniently located for sightseeing, shops & waterfront this small & friendly Hotel is ideal for anyone visiting Liverpool as it offers value & comfort. Jamie & his female colleague from Portugal (sorry I forgot your name) were very polite & helpful throughout our stay & we look forward to returning on our next visit to Liverpool. James & Linda.

"Nice Hotel, Great Area"
NikkiJones97, 23 Septembre 2021

Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights in September, its in a great location if you want to go out for a drink with plenty of entertainment. The hotel was nice and convenient, the staff were lovely and helpful. The only downside is the beds aren't that comfy and gave us back ache.

"Spot on"
Fredfunf, 20 Septembre 2021

Great place. Very clean and modern. Great value for money. We stayed for £52 on a Sunday whilst at a wedding at Oh Me Oh My just around the corner. Will definitely stay again. Love the rubber duck lol

"Great hotel"
Leetherees, 14 Septembre 2021

Had a great stay at the hotel for a few nights, great location with lovely & friendly staff. The bedroom had everything we require with a great spacious bathroom. The 24/7 staff were most helpful ensuring we had everything we needed and providing local advice, the breakfast was a box breakfast due to Covid but it had a great selection within the limits. Our only one down side and I only say this to make the hotel aware so options can be explored, the issues was where the bars next door tidy up in early hours cause a lot of noise with bottles etc that even with the window closed it can wake you up at like 5am. I understand the hotel can't do much about this but maybe they can talk to bar manager to see if this can be done later or something. On the other hand the extra between main door and room is great as the room is close to the lift.

"Fantastic hotel in great location."
ianfS6433OT, 13 Septembre 2021

Brilliant stay at the Heywood. Staff we're brilliantly accommodating and the rooms were excellent. Our room was well kitted out and the beds were comfy. Will definitely stay again when I pop back for a visit.

"Small basic but adequate"
carolinewoodrow7, 11 Septembre 2021

Nothing to do in hotel when it rained, rooms small but fine if you were just staying overnight, lift broken overnight, alarms from building across the road going off every 20 minutes for about half an hour all night long

"Take earplugs !!"
agrose450, 11 Septembre 2021

If you don't want to sleep at all and you like a croissant in a bag in the rain for breakfast then this is the hotel for you I have never heard noise like it from pubs Nextdoor, music, bottles being tipped into bins, domestics, drunks screaming and the bizarre non stop buzzing from an aircon unit in the room Advertised as bed and breakfast we were offered a paper bag “ grab and go “ croissant to eat in the pouring rain which we declined and were told would be refunded The hotel also started some crazy auction style room upgrade and we agreed to pay £40 extra for such. It transpires we paid £40 for 2 bottles of water and two cans of pop. There was no such upgrade at all Apart from a lovely young lad called Jamie on reception there was little else to be happy about but in the interest of fairness the housekeepers do a good job as well as room was very clean A very costly mistake

"Leisure Break"
CreweCrew, 05 Septembre 2021

Excellent stay, great staff, they couldn't do enough for us. Didn't do the grab and go breakfast so the breakfast cost was refunded. Strange drone/pulse in room coming from air conditioning unit either above or below us. It was annoying trying to sleep at night. Would use hotel again but I would ask to avoid room 309.

"Great hotel"

"Highly recommended"
hanab759, 22 Août 2021

A group of me and 7 other girls just returned from the best weekend/stay. The hotel is the best location for day & night life everything within walking distance. Staff were friendly and very helpful. A special thank you to Chris he was amazing, his care, support and jokes made our stay more special. x

"Two night stay"
418ilanap, 15 Août 2021

Very friendly staff who were helpful and gave advice when asking about queries or for any recommendations. Fresh towels were provided on second day of our stay. Brilliant location in regard to access to the city centre as everything was on our doorstep with little walking required. Had a few issues with the lift due to it not opening its doors multiple times whilst trying to get off as well as quite a small area especially with other people trying to get past. No food or bar available which would have been nice. Staff were not wearing face coverings however due to large screen up on reception, personal safety was not an issue However overall, was a lovely hotel that I definitely would use again if back in Liverpool!

"Friendly and helpful staff"
boojims, 26 Juillet 2021

Really enjoyed our stay in this centrally located hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful which are a great asset. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked really well as it was very warm over the weekend. There was a lot of noise from outside, but I always bring earplugs for city centre stays and therefore slept really well. Liked the light under the cabinet in the bathroom as it was perfect for nighttime bathroom visits without trying to hunt for the light switch! Would highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Liverpool.

"Too noisy"
minichedder, 25 Juillet 2021

Stayed in room 105, not slept a wink due to nightclub noise and idiots on the corridors coming in from nights or worse for wear. Room was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Bed was comfy, duvets and pillows were plush. Just a shame I didn't sleep due to noise.

"lovely friendly hotel"
Jblue10, 24 Juillet 2021

Had a great stay. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. It was really hot so aircon was very welcome. Blackout curtains were also a great asset. Hotel is well located. Only downside was room was a bit small and takeaway breakfast was quite basic with no alternative

"lovely hotel jut missing the simple things"
Louamiedan, 20 Juillet 2021

We booked this break earlier in the year before the hotel reopened after lock down, and I cant fault the service I received from the manager who responded to my request even though he wasnt at the hotel, so things were looking good. Check in was good with a very friendly young man giving us a warm welcome. We upgraded to a balcony room, and as the weather was so lovely I was anticipating relaxing on our own private balcony. The cleaner who had prepared our room clearly dosent have the balcony on her list of spaces to clean. There were cigarette ends on the floor, the table had old dried bird muck on it as did the glass screen and the chairs. Fortunately as the balcony wasnt private I was able to swap our bird poo marked cushions for slightly less poo stained cushions on the next door balcony. We decided to freshen up with a shower before heading into town , but there was no shower gel which is unusual for a superior room. The following morning we had coffee before heading back out. We were there 2 nights so when turning down the room you would expect the dirty cups to be replaced and a fresh supply of coffee, however this didnt happen so on morning 2 we re-used our cups and shared the remaining coffee sachet. This hotel has alot of promise as the staff are great as is the location, but when you upgrade to superior (and pay the additional cost) you expect for a little taste of luxury, but alas this isnt what we got.

"Lovely place in a great location"
Nicola R, 20 Juillet 2021

This lovely little hotel is based in a former bank. The staff is amazing, very knowledgeable and really helpful. A stone throw away from Liverpool James Street station it's a great base to explore Liverpool. Will definitely come back.

"Great place to stay"
GillA195, 07 Juillet 2021

We stayed 2 nights at the Heywood House Hotel. Great location -easy to find and navigate the city centre of Liverpool. The Hotel was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Our room was amazing -top floor: quiet clean and excellent range of tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Good quality toiletries supplied. But by far the exceptional asset to this hotel is the staff. The front of house manger a young gentleman was kind, calm efficient and professional. Can not rate this hotel enough. Excellent

"Definitely NOT good value for money"
joe B, 04 Juillet 2021

I booked a 'superior' room, and if that was the best then I dread to think what the other rooms are like. It was clean, but the decor and furniture is incredibly dated, the aircon didnt work and it was like an oven. I asked at reception for them to look at it and when I got back in the evening they'd just put two fans in the room, one didn't even have a finger guard! I paid £200 for the room and I stay in hotels a LOT and this no-way compares to the quality you expect for that price - today has been a write-off because I slept terribly because of the noise and temperature. It was OK, but nothing special, but certainly wouldnt expect to pay more than £90 for a room of that quality. I feel pretty ripped off to be honest.

"Great trip"
MJM_JAC66, 02 Juillet 2021

Great hotel, very central and within walking distance of all tourist attractions in Liverpool. No facilities for food, however fabulous options within very close proximity. We spent 3nts in superior rooms with fridge which had complimentary water, soft drinks and chocolate.

"Good value for money "
BillieBrighton_UK, 18 Juin 2021

We had a 3 night stay here and chose the hotel for it's location close to all the Waterfront sights. The location is great and an easy walk from a city centre car park. Our room was nice and clean and reception staffed by young friendly staff. The hotel is surrounded by bars so I would imagine it gets pretty rowdy at weekends- fortunately we were here midweek!

"Cancelled months ago but no refund or communication"
387stephk, 27 Décembre 2020

I booked this hotel because of its cancellation policy. I cancelled well in advance of my 31st October booking, yet I've still haven't been refunded. I've spent so long chasing communication with the hotel via email and phone calls, with no success. I'm now out of pocket by £170 and there is no sign of any contact, customer service or reimbursement.

"Poor customer service"
missyp30, 11 Décembre 2020

Booked this hotel months before our stay and requested a specific room. We checked on 2 further occasions that the room we had the room booked even checking a few days before. On arrival we were told that they had given our room away. Spoke to the manager and she just shrugged her shoulders

"One of the best hotels in the city "
gregoires09, 08 Novembre 2020

Me and my partner stayed at heywood house for his 25th birthday. Room was spotlessly clean, staff were 5* so accommodating and such a fabulous location. It's ideal if you want to stay right in the city centre, if you're out late there's a 24hr reception so perfect for young people!

"Anniversary weekend"
Bluerhys, 21 Septembre 2020

absolute gem of a hotel in the heart of the hustle and bustle yet peacefull from the outside when in your room Exellant staff and the night porter happy to tell you some great secrets to the city Will 100% be staying again Thank you

"First time staying here"
Sianclarkuk, 20 Septembre 2020

Having previously stayed In a few hotels in the city centre was keen on seeing what other hotels Liverpool had to offer. i had booked the hotel based on decent reviews and it even catered for a family friend who was a wheelchair user. The accessible room in short was good but a few pointers that she wanted to add in her case- the height of bed was Too high generally one side of the bed was blocked by a desk and she was unable to close curtains or even use the bed to Accommodate her needs. I was able to help her the second night but she also noted the doors Are extremely heavy and she struggled on my occasions gaining access to her room. The rooms were well decorated, tea/coffee/iron/ but no room bar or room service possibly due to current restrictions. We however as a group felt the gold stars deserved to go to front of house. The receptionist on arrival and on leaving - both were friendly, helpful and despite being busy made sure they were able to help or deal with anything. The night manager Chris went above and beyond for one of our party and made the stay that bit more special . We wouldn't of found the experience of staying here as pleasant if it hadn't been for the team Who were such amazing helpful people. The less can be said about the adjoining restaurant and bar, although not part of the hotel they mention to guests it's able to be used for breakfast/lunch and dinner but was separate. .The staff generally were helpful with breakfast and dinner. However the poor and frankly embarrassing behaviour of one member of staff who chose to keep the change of just under £10 from a £30 odd bill and then lie and say they had told us no change was to be given back. We were absolutely shocked and feel this is quite shocking behaviour to state they had relayed the “no change” rule to us. We also weren't allowed to bring any food or drink out of the restaurant over to the hotel as they said they didn't have suitable containers. The hotel itself we feel should have an easier passage ok for guests who are using the adjoining restaurant and bar, maybe incentives of 10% as an example. Even though they are not linked we had such shocking and poor service from the restaurant that we certainly wouldn't return there. The hotel itself could do with some minor tweaks here and there, but please keep the staff who we had rhat made our stay all the more special.

"Our new favourite "
welshgal13, 20 Septembre 2020

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Brilliant location and convenient to the train station. Very clean. Had breakfast in the slaughterhouse which is next door and it was lovely. Don't want to broadcast how lovely it is as we want to still be able to book ha ha

"small but beautiful"
tony d, 17 Septembre 2020

rooms were smaller than we expected, but very tasteful, lovely comfy bed and blackout curtains, so I slept better than I have done in weeks. Bathroom was just cute. only complaint- no opening windows, which I consider really important at present- but can't fault anything else. Very clean all over.

"So so hotel. "
mack1990, 31 Août 2020

We booked a superior room having looked at their website which describes it as plush. Plush it certainly isn't the only difference with a standard room, a fridge! The room quality needs a lot of improvement. The lighting was poor with only three ceiling spots none of which near the wardrobe and tea making area so hard to see in. The duvet would flop out of the covers and the pillows were so thin made my partners ears hurt as he is a side sleeper. The toilet seat was not secured properly and Ill fitting. There was no where to hang the hard towel for when you have washed your hands. The sink depth was so great that you were too far from the mirror to shave properly or apply make up. Premier inn rooms are a greater comfort than this ‘superior' room.

"Honeymoon break"
css236, 15 Août 2020

Tasty food, staff are polite, helpful. Very restful sleep and hotel is easy to get to from James Street train station. It's a short walk to the Albert Dock, cavern club and Liverpool one shopping centre.

"Highly recommend this hotel"
ALPHIE28, 14 Août 2020

Excellent hotel, great central location. Room lovely and comfortable, very quiet even had complimentary White Company toiletries!! Had everything you could need. We did run out of coffee sachets and asked for more and the man on night reception bought some straight up to our room. Very helpful. All very covid aware, ie plenty of hand sanitiser and one way system in reception. We parked in Liverpool Q which is 5-10minutes walk from hotel. It was pricey but hotel offered 30% discount. I would definitely stay here again!!

"Convenient location "
MikeW5448, 14 Mars 2020

Good hotel which is conveniently located for Liverpool's main attractions. Our room was spacious and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, ironing board and safe. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet during the night despite being centrally located. Breakfast had to be taken off-site.

"Great location"
Catdoh, 06 Mars 2020

Nice cosy hotel, not too much noise considering it's a city centre Hotel. Lovely cocktails in the Alchemist. Would visit again. Very close to shopping and bus station. Check out staff very friendly and knowledgeable even though it was 6am!

"Great hotel, great location, fantastic staff"
Zambgar, 24 Février 2020

We stayed here for a long weekend and would definitely recommend. It is in a great location, the room was clean, spacious and had good facilities. The staff were second to none. Chris in particular deserves a special mention as he was funny, friendly and helpful (even writing us a list of places he recommended to visit, all of which were excellent). We will definitely stay here again whenever we visit Liverpool

"Lovely hotel and Amazing staff! "
Danni-livingthedream, 24 Février 2020

We visited the Heywood hotel for 1 night after being bought a wowcher for Christmas. Our stay exceeded our expectations the room was large and well appointed, with a huge bathroom. The service we received from James on check in was exceptional, very efficient but with warmth and care to detail. The hotel is in a great central location but it was quiet at night we got a great night sleep. We would definitely stay again. When we returned home we realised we had made a silly mistake and left some clothes in the wardrobe, we called the hotel and James' customer service shone through again as he located our clothes and got them posted home to us. So thank you Heywood House and especially James what a gem he is!

"Centrally based but noisy"
1969ned, 31 Janvier 2020

Hotel and staff good, you get a late check out, you'll need it as the noise will keep you awake unfortunately. This is not something the hotel has any control over sadly, its what comes from choosing a city centre hotel.

"Fab Stay"
georgiakJ3351VV, 25 Janvier 2020

We stayed as a party of 3 for a birthday and was very happy with the accommodating and friendly staff upon arrival. Rooms were clean and we would consider this hotel very good value for money. Special thanks to the night porter for Chris for ensuring we had a comfortable stay with his above and beyond service. Would highly recommend staying here. Thank you!

"Great boutique hotel"
733kimf, 18 Janvier 2020

Easy place to stay for getting around. Friendly staff. Lovely modern decor and clean. Food is served next door in the Alchemist but there is an interconnecting door. Live music next door was great. I will visit again.

"First time in Liverpool"
Patricia C, 13 Janvier 2020

Great hotel, fabulous location, very helpful and informative staff (thanks Chris & Rob). Our room was spotlessly clean and we liked the White Company products in the bathroom. Great comfy bed, bedding and pillows what more could we ask. We will book again if we return to Liverpool.

"Very good, almost excellent"
brutusOslo, 12 Janvier 2020

First the conclusion: We really like the place and have already booked our next stay to Liverpool there. Why? The location is excellent, the staff is friendly, the rooms were ok, all very clean and they deliver what they promise. No more no less. Some noise from the street and the backyard must be expected but it was not disturbing our sleep. On of our rooms felt a bit cramped but the other was perfect. Wifi acceptable. They have no restaurant/breakfast but who cares when the neighboring bars/pub serve good, english breakfast. And, important, we felt it was good value.

"Dissapointed to be honest"
49dazm, 11 Janvier 2020

Very limited parking outside which is metered 8am-6pm. Carpark Q in middle of city which is a nightmare to find if your not from the area then its a ten minute walk to hotel with luggage. Get voucher from hotel reception for 30% discount on Q park only. No room service available on first night. Second night food was ok but barely warm. Breakfast starts to late at 8am. Most other BW Hotels start serving at 6:30-7am so that was a waste of money. As a BW rewards member I was upgraded to one of the better rooms which was basic at best but did have a balcony which would of been beneficial if not in January. I wont be staying there again.

"Birthday celebrations"
shellyb1989, 02 Janvier 2020

I stayed at the Heywood hotel with my sister for my 30th birthday. We arrived at the hotel early and were greeted at reception by 2 ladies who were very friendly but told us our room wasn't ready yet but were welcome to leave our bags if we wanted to go out. We went to a local wetherspoons for a drink and afterwards went back to the hotel to check in. There was a young man on the front desk who checked us in and told us our bags were already in our room, he was really friendly and was chatting to us for a while. We went to our room and it was lovely and quite spacious, we also had a bottle of wine on ice (which was included in a deal we had booked). When we went downstairs as we were going out for the night the young man asked us what we were up to and if we had plans we just said we were going for dinner and to a few pubs and clubs. We came back at 2am and there was a man on the front desk and he was so lovely, talking to us and asking if we had a good night, he asked if we had enjoyed the cavern club and was asking about my birthday. We said we would definitly come back and he said they sometimes have offers on living social which is what we had booked it on, he was talking to us for a while and we said how friendly everyone had been. The staff definitely made the stay even better and i will definitely be back. The hotel is in a great location close to the shops and bars, the alchemist is right next door and has a door from the hotel straight into the alchemist. The next morning we walked down the the docks which is just down the street. I will definitely be visiting liverpool again and will stay in this hotel. Thank you to the staff who made our stay even greater.

"City break"
Fiyizee, 01 Janvier 2020

Very clean hotel with friendly staff, nice touches (free toiletries and cans of pop). Good location for all of liverpool's attractions. Only downsides were the noise from outside (bottles clinking from nearby bars) and the mattress was too soft for myself.

"Amazing hotel, great location, friendly staff"
Melanie G, 30 Décembre 2019

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Liverpool. It is good value and in a great location. The rooms are great and the staff are brilliant. They can't do enough for you. Thank you so much. I will definitely be back again soon.

"Loved it!"
trevorgirl, 19 Décembre 2019

Stayed 1 night mid week in room 111. Fabulous hotel. Staff super friendly. Great breakfast next door at The Alchemist. Fantastic location - 4 minute walk to Matthew Street. Lovely pub just across the road - The Corn Exchange. Will use this hotel again without doubt. Just go!!

"Friendliest, most thoughtful hotel staff anywhere."
LostInTheHillsMouse, 28 Novembre 2019

The staff in this hotel are exceptional. They seemed to want to make everyone happy. They were polite, helpful, knowledgable, generous and kind. The hotel was central and close to excellent restaurant and cafes. Highly recommended.

"Very clean and spacious room"
Andrew W, 21 Novembre 2019

Reception is not necessarily manned the whole time and the hotel does not have its own dining room. But the room itself had a comfy bed and was very clean. It is spacious and I appreciated the kettle and biscuits on offer. Like the White Company bathroom soaps etc and decent shower. Overall place was quiet and ideal for business who just requires a bed for the night and a good nights sleep.

"Golden wedding anniversary "
M94UZwilliamb, 14 Novembre 2019

Excellent stay at the Heywood which is right in the hub of things.Large clean comfortable room. Staff were delightful from Rob who did our booking to Sarah and James on reception who were both lovely to deal with. Thank you for the gift and card for our anniversary celebration. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be visiting again in the future. Well done. John and Susan Bond

"Wonderful friendly central hotel"
CaroleP267, 12 Novembre 2019

The double room was superb, clean and fresh, the refreshments available perfect and plentiful, the bathroom superb shower and lovely deep bath. The staff were ammmazzzing, friendly, courteous and professional, a true credit to the hotel,we stayed room 206 and slept beautifully

"A little gem!"
Exvoguemodel, 07 Novembre 2019

Stayed here for two nights for business as a solo female traveller. Such a great hotel - great welcome, really friendly, gorgeous room with big bed, lots of towels and toiletries, tea and coffee with lots of milk, complimentary biscuits and water/coke in the fridge. Very clean and extremely quiet. Big bathroom with great shower and plenty of space for makeup etc. Felt very safe. Breakfast at the Alchemist was good - I don't really like a cooked breakfast as I prefer yoghurt and fruit which wasn't offered unfortunately so I opted for the American which was waffles eggs and bacon. It was nice to be fair as I was hungry. The coffee and juice were excellent! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you are a solo female traveler- in fact I'm back there next week! It's a good price too compared to the other four star hotels in the area.

"Decent stay"
Bridsie, 07 Novembre 2019

Hotel was in a good location for train and city centre. It was clean and tidy. Nice pub next door. Sleep was given 2 stars due to a couple having a full blown row at 4.30am and waking most of the hotel up!!

"Great location"
Brenda P, 05 Novembre 2019

This is within walking distance of train station and the docks, and near a ped mall. The rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast at the Alchemist restaurant next door was superb! Would stay here again.

"Lovely little break!"
Ilovetravellingxx, 03 Novembre 2019

The hotel is nice, staff are all super friendly and helpful, the location is perfect! (5 mins walk from pretty much anything) surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants so it isn't the quietest, however we were advised by staff that it is a grade listed building so there isn't a lot they can do about it which is fair enough! However I didn't really expect anything less considering the location of the hotel! (We stayed on a Saturday so I can imagine it is quieter during the week) I would come back again!

"Another fantastic stay "
Janpezza64, 23 Octobre 2019

We have stayed at heywood house many times now & have never been disappointed. We've just spent two nights in room 109 & will definitely be asking for it again. We didn't get chance to use the lovely bath but the shower was perfect brilliant pressure & they provide good quality bath products. Complimentary bottle of wine & in the fridge cold drinks & chocolate. The hot drinks tray has a good variety too. We had a brilliant sleep bed was very comfortable & thick blackout curtains really helped. The location is perfect as we could drop our shopping off then return to do the rest. Very courteous staff on reception will see you again very soon. Jan & Clive whitehead

"A LITTLE GEM"
Dottie G, 17 Octobre 2019

Another return to Heywood House, and it is lovely as usual. Thank you Rob and James and the girls for your help with maps and directions. The position of this hotel is perfect, the rooms are comfortable, and staff are amazing. There is no bar or breakfast room here, but you have bars on either side, and a Wetherspoons just around the corner. Can't wait to come back in April, well done all.

"Great location. "
Excursion30897268076, 15 Octobre 2019

A little hard to find, hotel signage not very clear not that u need neon flashing lights! We dropped our bags off as we were a bit early for check in. Thank u very much. When we did check in it was smooth and straight forward. We came done after getting changed for our theatre visit and evening meal booking and asked the young gentle man at the desk where the restaurant we had booked was. He told us it would be probably easier to get a taxi. So being country bumpkins I asked where the best place to get a taxi was. His reply was "just down there" and of conversation. This took me aback a bit......working in hospitality myself I'm sure it wouldn't have taken him much to ring for a taxi or even given better instructions. Over all I would stay here again, no issue with noise, but it was a wednesday. We didn't have breakfast next door as there is a wetherspoons just around the corner. Beds were comfy, shower was lush. Decor just to my taste. Sat having a cup of tea (great selection of herbal teas) we noticed two large bottles of empty coke bottles behind the long heavy curtains. Not a massive issue and easily missed with such heavy curtains but may be something to remember.

"Lovely Hotel, Perfect LOcation"
David G, 15 Octobre 2019

My wife and I stayed at the Heywood Hotel for 3 nights last week and we really enjoyed staying there. The hotel is located just around the corner (3 min walk maximim) from James St Station and is a stones throw away from Liverpool 1, Cavern Club, Albert Dock, Liverpool Museum, LiverBird Building, Pier Head and all the other attractions. Check in was quick and trouble free, James was very helpful and explained a few things about the hotel and where you could have breakfast in the neighbouring Alchimist Bar & Restaurant. We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel. This is a boutique hotel, rooms are very well presented spotless clean and comfortable. Double bed, fitted wardrobes, a small seating area, a small fridge, toiletries & tea and coffee making facilities, fresh towels daily. We also had a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table so lots of space inside and out. The bed was really comfortable, noise levels were minimal and I would expect it to be louder over the weekend (we stayed Wed - Sat). Could not fault this hotel and the location and would stay again and recommend to others.

"Very expensive in terms of value for money"
eyal m, 13 Octobre 2019

One of the main reasons why I checked into this hotel is that the site says there is parking. It turns out that this is a public car park about 500 meters from the hotel. The price I paid in the parking lot was three times that! From the price listed on the hotel's website. The hotel itself is quite old and is on a noisy street. The hotel is no more than three stars. The price is very high for such a hotel. I will not return to this hotel nor recommend others to reach it

"Brilliant location - clean airy and modern"
Aonghas65, 08 Octobre 2019

Hotel is located just a few minutes from the Pierhead and 5 mins the other way is the Cavern. Whilst the hotel has no dining facilities there are several restaurants within 2-3 mins walk including the Alchemist which is attached. Staff were friendly and very helpful

"Lovely hotel"
812liamg, 07 Octobre 2019

Lovely high spec hotel. Very clean and tidy. Great location. However very noisy at night (saturday night) but cannot complain as of where the location is. Staff were friendly and helped with any question we had. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay!

"Anniversary stay"
Frequenttripper10, 05 Octobre 2019

We used a voucher to stay here that we had had for a Christmas present, I can recommend this hotel as i had mentioned it was our Wedding Anniversary and there was a card waiting for us in our room which was a lovely touch. Also when we got to our room there was a loud party going on next door this was dealt with swiftly and professionally. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was lovely

"Good and not so good"
MLArchibald, 29 Septembre 2019

The staff at the hotel and the people of liverpool are great, very good position for all the sites, however it is attached to the Alchemist pub which is fine unless you aren't going out pubbing on a night. Friday night the music was horrendously loud until 2am. We were on the first floor so directly above the noise. If like me you prefer to sleep then perhaps the 3rd floor would be preferable. Or go mid week, Thursday was quiet.

"Great location"
lordholtham1, 17 Septembre 2019

Very pleasant stay, great location in the heart of the city, clean large room, large bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Check in very easy, pleasant and helpful staff. Fantastic bar attached to the hotel, overall a great stay.

"Lovely birthday stay"
36louisem36, 16 Septembre 2019

Went to celebrate my husbands birthday, the hotel even gave him a card! Thought this was a great location for us as we hit Mathew Street for the bars then Castle Street for some food! Although it wasn't very well signed it was easy to find. We parked in a q park and was able to get a discount through the hotel

"Wife's Birthday Weekend"
vichargreaves, 16 Septembre 2019

Excellent location very clean hotel very helpful staff nothing was too much trouble the rooms are very well appointed with everything that you would need this hotel is close to all amenities restaurant and bars I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

"Very Good"
ilnwood, 16 Septembre 2019

An Excellent hotel. Would have given it 5 stars unhesitatingly except that it doesn't have a breakfast room. If you book breakfast it will be taken next door at the Alchemist and I'm afraid i cannot recommend that. There is an excellent place for breakfast 2 doors down - The Manhattan Bar and Grill. Having said that the Heywood is a great hotel and I will use it again. The room was large, airy and impeccably clean. All the staff we met were polite and always helpful. The location could not be better. A quiet street in a great central location.

"Covenient location and friendly staff"
V2691TJdavidg, 16 Septembre 2019

Used a Buy-a-Gift voucher for our one night stay at the Heywood. It was accepted with no issue unlike a lot of hotels in other places that we tried to book. The hotel is lovely so clean and welcoming and so close to all that Liverpool has to offer, we enjoyed it a lot and hope to be back soon

"Too many issues"
Kevin S, 08 Septembre 2019

Heywood House is a building on a back street away from the main road. There is very little signage telling you that it is a Best western. We had several issues with our room when we arrived and although these were all sorted out quickly, in my opinion these issues should not have been there in the first place. The breakfast arrangement is terrible. There is no dining room in the hotel and you eat in a bar next door which is also open to the public. The quality of the breakfast was well below what I would expect from this type of hotel and was available much cheaper at other places on the same street.

"Perfect location for all things Liverpool"
Bridgette S, 08 Septembre 2019

Did the total Beatles experience and great hotel base however restaurant attached was poor. Recommend Mathew Street exhibition over Albert Docs as more real.Magical Mystery tour a must see..plus free access to Cavern if you take a trip...well worth it.

"Fab"
K M, 05 Septembre 2019

Just back from another great trip to Liverpool. This hotel is my favourite, lovely room on the 3rd floor with a cute balcony, great nights sleep and the staff are just brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble and they are great with sightseeing advice. Excellent location for The Docks and the shops. Will definitely be back. Rob on the front desk is an absolute star.

"Great location"
tracylW6584YB, 03 Septembre 2019

Great location if you want to be close to town centre. Very close to lots of bars restaurants and also not far from train stations and bus station within walking distance. Hotel room very clean and had lovely bathroom with good quality shampoo etc. Staff at hotel very friendly and welcoming.

"Awesome, perfect location. Great value, helpful staff."
jlagmay, 02 Septembre 2019

This facility boasts great central location, small but so helpful staff, and very clean comfy rooms with nice decorative accents. Not much to look at from the outside but who cares. Felt like a kind of high-end mod hostel and we felt very private and safe. We were walking distance to the Albert Docks, Liverpool Museum, the Cavern Club, plenty of fun inexpensive eateries and coffee shops - and only half a block from the train station to our next destination. I left behind a t-shirt and Heywood staff kindly worked with me to have it sent back to me in the U.S. This was the perfect launching point for our bucket-list visit to Liverpool and Beatles pilgrimage. Would defihitely highly recommend. Thank you Heywood!

"Great central good value spot"
AGPLLOYD, 25 Août 2019

Lovely hotel which is close to everything. Lacking in a bar but slaughterhouse next door does the job. No restaurant either and defo stay away from slaughterhouse on that score! Room well appointed with robes supplied. Would go back again.

"2 night anniversary stay"
Chel_10, 22 Août 2019

Just got back from Heywood House Hotel. We had a fantastic time. I emailed hotel as it was my wedding anniversary and I wanted a quiet room. We were upgraded to a superior room and also received an anniversary card which was a lovely touch. Our room on the second floor was extremely comfortable, spacious and very quiet. The location of the hotel was perfect, very central. I can't wait to return to Liverpool and will definitely be returning to Heywood House.

"Almost a 5* Review"
Karen C, 21 Août 2019

Nice hotel, clean rooms and good staff. However if you like your beauty sleep you might want to ask if they have any quieter rooms. We had room 305 with a nice little balcony, unfortunately above a busy little street and the hotel is adjacent to the Alchemist and various other pubs etc. the noise was quite loud and continued until about 01:30.. worst noise was from the empty bottles being put out. Other than this the room and bed were comfortable and a bonus for me was that there was hot chocolate as well as teas and coffee. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant but there is a private entrance from the hotel to the Alchemist, there is also a good room service selection at very reasonable prices. We opted to have breakfast at the Alchemist, my husband had the full English & I opted for the Garlic Truffled Mushrooms on Toasted Sourdough both were excellent. Will definitely stay again.

"Great Hotel/location"
kelly c, 20 Août 2019

Great hotel in the heart of Liverpool. We had an accessible room as my daughter uses a wheelchair and the room was really spacious and perfect for her needs along with being tastefully decorated. Would definitely return and recommend

"Nice hotel but noisy! "
Fiamarie, 13 Août 2019

The hotel is in the middle of the city centre and a great location. The gentlemen on reception who checked us in was nice and friendly. The room was nice and clean, with a hairdryer and plenty of tea and coffee. I read online the scaffolding would be up for 6 weeks from May. It's now the middle of August and still up..seems a funny six weeks? The noise.....my god. The bar next door puts the bins out about 1am and 3am...the bin men then seem to come about 5am. I understand it's a listed building and in a central location but the noise is horrendous. It's truly the worst night's sleep I've had in a hotel. The builders were on the scaffolding nice and early too so make sure you have the curtains closed! Such a nice hotel- I'd stay again if they offered quiet rooms! We didn't have have breakfast in the alchemist as there wasn't much choice- id recommend moose coffee just round the corner. Breakfast was amazing!

"Okay!"
No1JMX, 12 Août 2019

So, I'm not a big goer of Best Western hotels after a few unfortunate and unforgettable experiences However, this was an okay property! The location is quite obscure I found at first, and there is no blatant advertising to find it. I would call it a small and cosy hotel. The receptionists are also very friendly. I am a Platinum member with BW so I was given a complimentary upgrade, however, the balcony in my room was unable to be used as it was surrounded with construction men which was a shame. The bed is one of the biggest I've seen, which is also very comfy in a spacious room, which gains a good mark lol I wasn't impressed that there isn't a bar, and the equivalent would be the restaurant attached to the hotel, however, the prices are extortionate. I was given breakfast included in my rate, which also took place in the Alchemist next door, it is a big big shame that you have only two choices, traditional breakfast or vegetarian. (I would certainly not pay the rate the hotel were charging, as you can get better buffets for less!) Overall, it's a good hotel in the centre of Liverpool. Improvements? GET A BETTER LIFT!

"Great Location in Liverpool"
David A, 02 Août 2019

Great hotel to stay while in Liverpool, Close to waterfront, restaurants and pubs, Great staff and good pricing on rooms, Highly recommend Liverpool Cycle Tours, We did Beatles version, You can walk to meet them or spend 3 lbs on Uber, First day we walked the waterfront and took in a few museums,

"Attentive staff and quiet room"
Milly074, 28 Juillet 2019

Unlike other reviewers we weren't warned that the hotel was covered in scaffolding, so it was a surprise to see it all wrapped up when we arrived. We were only there for one night and being a Monday the city was relatively quiet. We weren't disturbed by any of the building work either. The reception staff were all very attentive and helpful and gladly stored our bags until the room was ready on our arrival, and also after check-out time the next day. We were embarking on a cruise later that day so it was very helpful to have our luggage safely stored so we could have a final look around Liverpool. The room was spacious with the most comfortable bath I have found in a hotel for a long time! The beds were also very good. I would certainly stay there again.

"Birthday Celebration "
Bagpuss125, 27 Juillet 2019

We came across this hotel from a Wowcher voucher deal and we were very delighted with what we found. On finding the hotel, it was surrounded by scaffolding as was the surrounding buildings as they are all being renovated on the outside. Once inside though it was clean and comfortable and the location was superb. It might not be “top rated “ in the sense that it didn't do food onsite but there are plenty of places for food nearby. Also we cannot fault the staff with their friendly and extremely helpful attitude with nothing being too much trouble. We intend to make another trip (hopefully when the building works outside has finished) as this place has everything we require for our visit.

"Great location. Scaffolding caused an early morning wake up."
Matthew970, 24 Juillet 2019

Once I had booked I received an email saying that there was currently scaffolding up. Not a problem I first thought. Checked in quickly, and in our room on the second floor. Plenty of facilities in the room with plenty of tea and coffee provided. However, fast forward to 7.20am this morning when they started on the scaffolding. It started at 7.20am and continued until 11am when we left. The noise was constant banging. So a very early wake up call. I opened the curtains to find a builder standing there. Improvements are being made however with so much noise so early on, they should not open really, or at least warn people about the works before booking. Staff were friendly. Great location.

"Room for improvement "
Melaniej3008, 22 Juillet 2019

We arrived at the Heywood and almost missed it due to the scaffolding. The hotel had notified me off this but I was hoping the work would be finished. Judging by the amount still up it will still be there next year! We checked in and made our way to our plush balcony room on the third floor(304).The room was ok, no wow factor and not what I would describe as plush. My bedroom at home is more luxurious! Scuffs on the walls and skirting boards and marks on the carpet. It was also very small although the decor was nice. The bathroom was small and average. No free standing bath as some of the pictures on the website show. There was a fridge which was empty. No water in a superior room? No robes? The balcony was nice to sit on early evening if you like looking at scaffolding! Don't get me wrong I know it's a city view and I know there's building work going on around but the balcony glass was filthy. There was a sorry piece of lime over the other side probably discarded from a gin and tonic which had been there god knows how long! You would surely clean the glass and balcony when you knew some people were staying that evening? We paid £109 for this room which included breakfast and that's probably a fair price. These rooms however go for upwards of £360 on a Saturday night which is just daylight robbery. No way are they worth paying that much for. Despite some reviews mentioning noise we didn't encounter any at all. Maybe because the heavens opened later on so no one would have been sat outside the nearby bars. The best thing about the Heywood is its location. Perfectly situated a few minutes walk from Liverpool One and Albert dock. We parked in the Q park at Liverpool 1 (L1 8LT) it was £11.50 for 24 hours with the discount ticket that they give you at reception. Breakfast was great at The Alchemist as were the cocktails the night before. Overall we had a great time, it's just the lack of attention to detail that for me prevent this hotel from being fabulous. I probably would stay again for the location but only on a deal as I was a little disappointed with the room.

"One night stay"
792karen, 21 Juillet 2019

Nearly walked past it due to the scaffolding.. Lovely hotel. We had a lovely room which was clean & spacious. Bathroom included a large shower and bath. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Good priced hotel which is close to many attractions.

"Great location"
slambi696922, 17 Juillet 2019

Great location, just minutes from James street station, and quiet considering location. Clean and roomy with all necessary little additions. Very helpful and friendly staff.centrally located for Liverpool attractions.

"Horrific"
marrom, 13 Juillet 2019

Can't believe this hotel gets any good reviews. The noise is horrendous from the pub next door. With my 13 year old daughter and cannot sleep - bar shuts at 2am. Literally can hear the music clear as day as if it's being played in our room. £215 for a night - will be asking for my money back in the morning. Fobbed off with “it's a city centre hotel”! Have stayed in loads of major cities worldwide and not ever had this issue! Have also stayed in other hotels in the centre of Liverpool before and not experienced such a loud noise! They shouldn't charge more than £50 a night.

Love this hotel, stay every time we visit liverpool. Staff friendly, cant do enough, locations perfect. Rooms all spotless and beautifully decorated. Have had several different rooms and never disappointed in any of them. Always look after us when we stay .

"Walked passed the hotel due to scaffolding"
Dianne B, 09 Juillet 2019

Ive stayed in a few places in Liverpool but this hotel gets 11 out of 10.Love the secure way to get to your room. Love the location.Love the very friendly staff. The rooms are fantastic with everything you need,Response to Grandtour- there is a switch to turn on the air con.We had a balcony room ok the view was not good but to sit out and enjoy our free bottle of wine. The room had a hairdryer, fridge with 2 bottles of water, 2 cans of pop and 2 kit-kats,ironing board, iron ,safe tea coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits and not forgetting the little rubber duck if you had a bath. This hotel is was so fab did not want to leave. Thanks to all staff for a fantastic time.Cant wait to go to your fab city again soon

"Don't stay here if you want to sleep"
GrandTour54854655668, 08 Juillet 2019

Next to 2 bars that play very loud music after midnight. Rooms were too hot and the the bed was like sleeping on the floor. Hard as nails. Staff were lovely but rooms so hot despite air flow?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Great location and excellent value for money"
Jet02449805078, 07 Juillet 2019

This hotel was a fantastic place and the location was excellent being situated about a 10-15 minute walk from Albert Dock and about the same into Liverpool 1 as well. The value we paid for what we got was excellent! Staying 2 nights with breakfast included (which was a full English in the alchemist and bloody lovely!) and in a brilliant location in the middle of everything for £180 was excellent! When we come back to Liverpool we will definitely stay again!

"Great central hotel"
803ritianneb, 05 Juillet 2019

We've just returned from our stay in Liverpool where we stayed at this hotel which is perfectly located and walking distance from all activities. The hotel was nice, very clean, rooms had a nice decor and also a good size. Nothing to complain about except would have preferred a slightly wider bed to sleep more comfortably other than that all was perfect during our 3 night stay.

Lovely hotel in a very good location, the staff were friendly and very helpful staff. The breakfast was Fantastic . The hotel is very tastefully decorated and was very clean. Beds comfortable with good bed linen although the pillows slightly too firm.

"Hidden Gem in heart of Liverpool"
Traveler56148576254, 26 Juin 2019

Great hotel, lovely decor and right in the heart of the city. When we stayed, they were doing work outside and there was a lot of scaffolding but the hotel clearly communicated this with us ahead of our visit. The team are really friendly and will definitely recommend to others if you want to be city centre.

"Great hotel right where the action is"
MelbourneScott, 24 Juin 2019

Easy check in and the hotel sent in advance a detailed plan on where to park at W Parking. Probably the best inner city carpark ive seen anywhere in the world . Wide lanes and wide parking bays. The hotel also gave specific details on how to get to the hotel from the car park . Perfect instructions. The hotel is surrounded by great bars and restaurants and great value. We would definitely recommend for other travelers

"Great hotel"
BenP9778, 13 Juin 2019

We stayed here last weekend, as locals of the city I can say the location of the hotel is great, Liverpool one is only 5 minutes away and the restaurants and bars nearby make it even better. The rooms are really nice and spacious and we even had a balcony. The beds are really comfy and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Special mention to Chris on the front desk of a night the man is a walking encyclopaedia so if you need help or want to know any information I'm certain he could help you!

"Great little hotel"
357brenp, 12 Juin 2019

We stayed for one night and loved it. The room was spacious and decorated in a very modern and high standard. The shower was amazing and we found our room to be very quiet. This hotel is ideally situated as it's only a short walk from the docks, the cavern club and the town centre. We parked in the Liverpool One Q park which was only a short walk from the hotel and cost £11.50 for 24 hours (the hotel give you a voucher for £6 off the total price). We didn't use the restaurant for no other reason than the fact we were up too late so can't comment on the food but we'd definately return to this hotel in the future.

"Good position but noisy"
j b, 10 Juin 2019

Gifted a nights stay here so probably wouldn't have been my choice of hotel, but ideal situation for centre of the city. Room was clean, average size and quality bathroom products along with a couple of basics in the fridge, juice water and chocolate which was a nice touch. Although we didn't have any issues with noise inside the hotel it was noisy in the evening well into the early hours due to its close proximity to a couple of bars. We also had noise issues from some sort of remedial work done on the scaffolding for a good 45 minutes from 5 am in the morning so sleep quality was poor. That said there could possibly be quieter rooms at the rear of the hotel and the scaffolding incident was hopefully a one off. Would I stay here again probably not but that's down to personal taste and what I look for in a hotel, nothing to do with the quality of this hotel.

"Short break"
Traceyx, 06 Juin 2019

Clean and comfortable, friendly staff, fantastic location. Booked with a ‘buy a gift' voucher - no problems at all. Didn't have breakfast at the Alchemist as it seemed quite expensive - lots of good places to eat within a short walking distance. Liverpool is a great city to visit - I would definitely stay at the Heywood House again.

"Good deal, overall very nice"
stefaniemk324, 05 Juin 2019

The hotel is a little hard to spot with the scaffolding in front but it was all that I expected, and not in a bad way. The room was decent sized and comfortable, bathroom was clean. I appreciated the extra security in having to scan your room card in order to access beyond the lobby. It is very close to the docks and there is a pub right next door with live entertainment so you don't have to venture far to locate food. I don't recall noise being an issue and overall I was very satisfied.

"Lovely hotel"
Departure10768918431, 05 Juin 2019

Lovely hotel close to shops and the Albert docks , could not fault the hotel , the manhattan bar beside it is a must , food is delicious , staff at the hotel were lovely and very helpful would highly recommend this hotel

"First impressions disappoint - gets better."
stella317, 26 Mai 2019

Scaffolding on the building didn't help, but it's an unimpressive entrance anyway and the lift lobby and staircase don't improve. To our minds, the refurbishment has been reasonable competent but hasn't lifted this hotel above average. Heating and lighting were below par, and furnishings too. A powerless kettle was quickly replaced by the night porter and repaired the next day. This hotel is in a good location, but there are plenty more nearby. Perhaps they have better breakfast facilities in the building than the independent Alchemist that shares the building with Heywood House. Over-rated.

"Central location with 24/7 reception."
tjw_10, 25 Mai 2019

This hotel is not 4 star-3star and with scaffolding erected when at the hotel this week. -no breakfasts on site and can be very noisy especially at weekends. However good central location for hop on hop off bus and walking distance to the Dockyards and museums

"Good Location with Pleasant Staff"
MisterCheeky, 20 Mai 2019

My wife and I stayed here for one night (Sat) in early May. Our room faced the rear of the hotel. While it shielded us from the usual street noise, there was significant noise from the live band at the premise next door. While I realize that as a central hotel some noise is to be expected, however the noise was significant and even with earplugs was inconvenient. The hotel location in relation to Liverpool One is excellent and is within easy walking distance. The overall hotel experience was very good. What raises the experience above average is the superb staff. Starting with email correspondence with Rob who provided an exceptional welcome for us. This high level of service continued with both Ellie(sp?) and Iona at reception. Both were very friendly and helpful. All definite assets to the hotel. It was a very nice stay and I would not hesitate to recommend Heywood House or stay here again on any future trips.

"No way 4 star its a 2.5 star rip-off"
Den S, 19 Mai 2019

stayed here last 3 nights, lovely English reception staff. Clean well serviced room, comfy bed, tea & coffee. Unfotunately no bar/restaurant/lounge not even a vending machine to buy a snack or bottle of coke. Only food available was from a local eatery with a £2 delivery charge 2 steaks for £46 to sit and eat on the bed.Massive noise from bar next door till early hours, boom, boom but we couldn't be bothered to complain, Offered breakfast for £30 a day for the two of us down the road, must have been caviar and champagne. Massive management , planning dept and investment mistakes been made here. If advice needed professional advice available. Good location lovely city!

"Good for one night on a weekend "
YNWATravelBug, 17 Mai 2019

Stayed at the Heywood House on the Saturday night before the Liverpool final match. I imagine most weekends are busy/noisy but this one especially so. Close to the action of town. Lots of great restaurants & bars within walking distance & shopping/Liverpool One is also walking distance away. Staff are very friendly & helpful at the hotel. Iona & Ellie were of great help to us. Room is clean & well set up but this hotel is missing face cloths. Although the windows are doubled up it can still be noisy from nearby restaurants & bars between the customers noise & the emptying of glass collection bins both late at night & early bin pick up in the morning. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again but maybe not on a weekend if quiet at night is what you're after.

"Again amazing!"
812kristynam, 16 Mai 2019

I've stayed in the Heywood House Hotel in November and now we chose it again for our stay. As before it was amazing, Chris from front desk knows literally everything about Liverpool and gave us the best tips. And then for check out we had the chance to speak to Rob again. The level of customer service is really amazing here I am definitely coming again next time I am in Liverpool! Thanks everyone for great stay! :) Tyna

"Liverpool Beatles tour"
878glenn, 10 Mai 2019

Excellent location for our Beatles tour and a Merseyside walkabout without the traffic noise of the main drag. Our room was at the rear of the hotel away from any street noise. While our bar fridge was not functional on arrival the hotel staff attended and repaired it in a timely manner. Just a fuse, was the verdict.

"1 night stay"
cherylc27, 06 Mai 2019

Hotel is very clean, modern and contemporary and supplied with The White Company toiletries. We stayed in the larger room on the 2nd floor. The reception staff were very pleasant and professional. The hotel is in an ideal location, just a couple of minutes walk from Matthew St and the rooms are just above The Alchemist pub, although if you like a good night sleep you will hear the music from the pub until approx 2am. I would definitely stay here again as it's a lovely hotel and very close to pubs, shops and tourist sites.

"Modern and great location"
gordonn277, 26 Avril 2019

Modern and clean hotel situated in a very central part of Liverpool, ideal for many attractions. Great breakfast at the Alchemist restaurant. Appears to be recently upgraded throughout. Only down side is no on site parking.

"Birthday stay"
lisaanniedylan, 24 Avril 2019

Just got home from a night at the Heywood house hotel. Absolutley beautiful hotel staff were also amazing, specially James who greeted us on arrival. We came for my partners birthday and had a great time. We booked the mid week offer for 100 for over night stay with 2 course meal and bottle of wine at the manhattan bar and grill. Would highly recommend and we will deffinetly be back soon. Keep doing what your doing

"Hotel ideally located"
Obispofan, 23 Avril 2019

The hotel is close to the centre and to all activities. The room is small but functional and clean. Beds were a bit small for me (single bed) and the mattress a bit too soft. Bathroom was clean with an Italian shower. The only negative point is the breakfast: only 2 options (Full English Breakfast or Veggie). Choice is very limited for the price paid, especially if you stay more than 1 night. I would therefore not recommend it even if the food was good. I was really expecting a buffet. There are plenty of restaurants close to the hotel where you can get a good and varied breakfast.

"Lovely little hotel"
LisaG189, 22 Avril 2019

Just had a one night stay, hotel is in a great location and room was surprisingly large! Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Although we didn't eat the food is provided by the alchemist which is next door and the menu looked great. Nice and peaceful, would recommend!

"Nice hotel but rather noisy"
C8516WVandys, 15 Avril 2019

Great location for a short break, between the city centre and the Albert Dock. Room was nice and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only downside was the noise at night. The hotel is above a couple of bars. The noise of the music was no problem; you could hear it but it did not keep us awake. However we were at the back of the hotel and the bin lorries come round in the early hours, so we were disturbed by the bars filling up the bottle bins and then later by the lorries emptying them.

"A Liverpool experience"
David J, 09 Avril 2019

We found this hotel be accident having never been to Liverpool before. We could not have done better. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. We asked for a quiet room which we got and both of use slept well. It was perfectly situated near all the things we wanted to see. The Albert Dock, the museum of Liverpool, the Cavern Club and the station was very near for our trip to see the Iron Men and Crosby. We has a fabulous time and plan to go back and stay at this hotel which we can recommend completely.

"Great hotel and location. Skip the breakfast"
Relax38631783645, 04 Avril 2019

The hotel is comfortable and clean and the reception staff are friendly and helpful. It has a great location close to the the station, bars, shops, restaurants- the city centre and Albert Dock. The adjoining bar is pleasant but our breakfast was poor (2/10)

"Tired and Noisy "
TAL1241, 30 Mars 2019

Hotel in great location with good size rooms although our room sadly was quite grubby from stained carpets to thick dust on the bathroom skirting boards which leaves you with the feeling that the cleaners do not give much care and attention to what they are doing. Due to the great location you are surrounded by bars , and the noise goes on most of the night and then the street cleaning and bin men start early morning I appreciate their is nothing the hotel can do about this but worth giving this some consideration before booking

"Ideal Location"
Conatang, 30 Mars 2019

Lively boutique style hotel. Warm, friendly welcome. 5 minutes from the Albert Dock. Plenty bars, restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Hotel provides everything you need ans allowed us to leave our bags for a few hours before we were due to get our train. All in all can't fault the place and would recommend.

"Handy Heywood"
Alan D, 29 Mars 2019

Great value hotel convenient to to the heart of Liverpool. Easy access to good bars and restaurants nearby and only a short walk to the LIVERPOOL ONE complex with lots of the usual shops and chain restaurants and bars, with a few unusual ones thrown in too. The hotel itself is quite small but fitted out nicely. I had a balcony overlooking the street which was a bit of fun.The room was well decorated and clean with all the standard amenities. I had breakfast in the Alchemy bar which was very good. The ingredients were good quality. The staff I encountered (receptionist late on the night of arrival and restaurant staff in the morning) were excellent. Very cheerful and friendly. I thought it was all excellent value for money (cost me less than a Premier Inn room only - including the breakfast). My only small criticism would be that the cost of the breakfast at £15 was expensive but these days that seems to be the trend. Highly recommend for a good base to explore the city.

"Great Hotel"
Scenic44787214809, 27 Mars 2019

Very comfortable hotel in great position for all amenities close to Albert dock and other attractions if you like shopping it is a short walk to great shopping precinct a shirt distance from the cavern club worth a visit .

"Two visits in one week "
KateJRR, 23 Mars 2019

Due to a train cancellation I actually ended up staying at the Heywood twice in one week. Small but pleasant hotel in an incredibly convenient location. Comfortable beds and fantastic showers in both rooms we stayed in. Our first room was at the front of the hotel on the third floor and quite large, the second room was at the back and smaller. Definitely preferred the room at the front as it was quieter and more spacious but both did the job. Only constructive observation was the pressure in the loo in the first room wasn't great but we reported it and I am sure it has been resolved. Nice to see room service from the Alchemist. I visit Liverpool quite frequently and suspect we will stay at the Heywood again as it's our favourite Liverpool hotel to date.

"Great Room"
Wanderer191255, 19 Mars 2019

We had a beautiful room with all the essentials including, hair dryer, safe,a little rubber duck to float in your bath and the largest bath towels you will ever find. The hotel has been created from an old bank and many of the original features are on display. Staff were very friendly and there was very little noise from other guests. The hotel does not have a restaurant but food and drink can be ordered from Alchemy which is basically next door. In addition you are in the centre of the city so have unlimited number of restaurants, cafes ,bars and shops to choose from.

"Fantastic hotel in the heart of Liverpool"
FarAway24805287612, 18 Mars 2019

Hotel situated in the heart of Liverpool with less than 10minute walk from main car parking facilities which I may add if you tell the hotel that you are parked in QPark this enables you to a discount when leaving which can save you ££ Chris was absolutely amazing after such a mess up through booking.com which wasn't the hotels fault he went above and beyond to beat booking.com prices and upgraded us to the plush double which was so comfortable and the free standing bath was the best feature by far. Literally seconds from main cocktail bars so no need for a taxi. Would definitely recommend to stay here without a doubt!!

"Fantastic location"
happycamper26, 16 Mars 2019

Hi folks we stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in March could not fault it from the spotless rooms to the friendly staff I would 100% recommend this hotel.the location is fantastic no need for public transport as you can easily walk to shops restaurant's local attractions. Hope this is useful.

"Better than average. "
KenM543, 12 Mars 2019

My wife and myself spent one Sunday night in room 301. I would class this hotel as good, it's better than average. Easy to find location, just off the docks. The room was clean, the bed was ok, the shower was excellent, one of the best . If you wanted to be really critical I suppose you could be, but overall we enjoyed our stay in this hotel and I certainly would not rule out staying again.

"Beautiful & Amazing hidden gem!"
Happytravels6789, 06 Mars 2019

I stayed in Liverpool for a little weekend get away with my friends and I had a wonderful time! All of the staff were amazing! So friendly and polite, nothing was too much. We got a free upgrade to one of the balcony rooms too, they were really nice and spacious! We had some robes, slippers and some lovely soaps and smellies from The White Company (one of my favourite shops!) very close to the Albert docks (5 min walk) very close to Liverpool one (also 5 min walk) and not far from Matthew Street & the famous Cavern (5 min walk!) the location is perfect if you are walking around the centre. Me and my friends are already planning to come back.. Thankyou for a great stay!

"Great stay, great location"
Ellen P, 03 Mars 2019

We stayed at Heywood House Hotel for one night in March. Great location, not far (walking roughly 5mins) from Liverpool's famous Matthew Street. Check in was easy, room was lovely - good size and great en-suite. Lovely large bed! Room amenities were good, with coffee machine and fridge. Only minus point for me was the bed was slightly too hard.

"Loved here"
LA2119, 28 Février 2019

Staff were nice, hotel near everywhere and bar and grills near by for food. Enjoyed staying here..brilliant price too.the decor was nice, secure location too. Staff there 24 hours a day. Would recommend to anyone.

"A brilliant find!"
Quest44891774262, 28 Février 2019

The staff very friendly. Check in and check out was fast. The hotel was close to everything and right beside the Alchemist-known for their cocktails (this is where you get your room service from). I would honestly stay here again the rooms were lovely modern decor and clean.

"Noise"
Happiness17023016217, 24 Février 2019

Very good stay at the Heywood House Hotel was spoilt by the fact that the hotel is next to a bar that has live bands playing until early hours. When the bar empties we heard shouting, fighting, screaming. Then the bottles from the bar were thrown into a bin at the rear of the hotel. Which was a terrible noise in the early hours of the morning. Everything else was excellent, room, staff , breakfast. The only other negative was I got stuck in the lift due to a fault. We then had to climb the stairs to the third floor.

"Lovely hotel in a great location "
AliBlun, 24 Février 2019

Great deal for a fabulous hotel in the heart of the city. Great location close to the Cavern quarter, Liverpool One and the waterfront. Just around the corner from James Street Railway station. Easy link from Lime St via the underground. Lovely helpful staff and the room was clean and modern. Would definitely stay again for a great city break.

"Outstanding Hotel and wonderful Staff"
LowriM96, 17 Février 2019

I stayed at the Heywood Hotel in Liverpool this weekend and had the most incredible experience. I was upgraded to a plush room which was beautiful and peaceful. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Liverpool. Thank you so much

"Boyce's 60th birthday"
Angie R, 08 Février 2019

This is our second time at this hotel since Nov. Absolutely love it. 5 minutes walk to Liverpool One shopping centre, Albert docks and Cavern club. 4 bars on the street, what more could you want. Hotel staff are friendly, very helpful and the rooms are spotless. A deposit of £50 per room is required on check in, for incidentals. Highly recommended

"Lovely boutique hotel in a great location"
Tony R, 04 Février 2019

This hotel us ideally located in the city centre. Rooms fairly small but well designed and decorated. Friendly reception staff and fabulous breakfast in the adjacent Alchemist restaurant. This hotel is at the top end of the Best Westrn brand.. we will undoubtedly stay there again

"Comfortable and central hotel in attractive old building"
Gareth596, 31 Janvier 2019

We had a good couple of nights here on a cold January weekend and liked the tasteful conversion of what had apparently been an old bank building. The hotel is a comfortable but modest affair with little to offer apart from its nicely decorated and well-equipped rooms. There is no bar and food is served on the licensed premises next door - we had breakfast in the nearby Liverpool One shopping centre instead on our first morning and at the local Pret A Manger on our second morning. The young reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and quickly sorted out a minor problem we had with a broken light switch in our room. As others have noted, the area outside can get a bit noisy at nightime but the windows are well soundproofed overall and this didn't trouble us too much. We would go back next time we are in Liverpool.

"Noise!"
Nigel B, 20 Janvier 2019

The staff were very friendly; the location of the hotel was great for what we were doing, and the room was very nice, BUT! We were given a room on the 1st floor that turned out to be right above the Alchemist bar. Very, very noisy until 2.00am. This really is unacceptable. I pay for a hotel for somewhere to sleep and this room wasn't cheap! Yes, it was a city centre hotel and i accept some noise but this was not a light background sound. I put some of my own music on but could still here the music from the bar underneath. You should make it known that some rooms suffer from a lot of noise from the bar - by the way for anyone reading this the rooms definitely affected are around 104 - 109. If you are going to be out until 3.00am fine; otherwise stay away. Also, the heating wasn't working in our room. We were brought heaters when we mentioned it. I see from a review below someone else had a heating problem in the past! When checking out mentioned all this to receptionist. Was pleasant enough but doubt anything will be done. If i hadn't pre-paid I'd have refused to pay in full.

"Beatles nostalgia"
S2094ZOcarolb, 12 Janvier 2019

The hotel was perfect even better we got a free upgrade to a superior room with balcony. Located in the centre of everything. Just around the corner from the famous Cavern club which was the highlight of the visit. Worth going on s tour bus which informs you of the local history. Very interesting. Loads of Beatles memorabilia around. People very friendly and welcoming.

"Awesome hotel"
Scrappywalker, 12 Janvier 2019

Booked a weekend away for the hubby's birthday and was very impressed with how central it was. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room was very spacious and clean with the usual supply of shower gel, shampoo and body cream supplied. There was also a kettle with a selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate available. There is an arrangement with the Alchemist next door for breakfast and if you book through the hotel the night before it is £15 per person for a full buffet or you can go there yourself and just pay for what you have. Free wi-if and internet which worked well. Tv in room well placed to watch from the bed. Price for the room was very reasonable. They also have a parking arrangement with Q-Parking which is very close and you get a voucher for 40% off your parking tariff when you leave. Definitely worth staying here.

"Sight seeing"
Markautela, 11 Janvier 2019

Loved the hotel, great location bang in centre of everything going off,we got an upgrade to a superior balcony room for some reason & wish we were there for more nights, lovely restaurants around the hotel so don't worry about no breakfast ,as they say in Liverpool after touring all day “ITS BEEN A HARD DAYS NIGHT”

"Nothing more than a flop house"
godhotels, 04 Janvier 2019

The price of this hotel room was grossly inflated due to a football ( soccer) game unbeknownst to me. It was nothing more than a flop house. Would not recommend this poor tired room. Couldn't wait to leave. Sketchy

"Great !!!"
as9371, 24 Décembre 2018

A wonderful hotel located in the centre of Liverpool! The Alchemist downstairs was amazing!! Lovely and very helpful staff ! The only reason I did not give 5 stars was that the heating in our room was not working properly, but a heating fan was provided as soon as we explained the issue. We will definetly come back !!

"Fantastic hotel"
Nigel C, 18 Décembre 2018

Fantastic hotel, right in the heart of the city. Very reasonable in terms of price and superb staff. I will be back as it has all the facilities you require. The food was served in the restaurant next door, which was lovely but lots of alternatives if you so wish .

"Great hotel, location "
beachbuminohio, 17 Décembre 2018

We stayed here last minute after checking into Our Airbnb and hating it. The hotel is right in the center of Liverpool, so you're within walking distance of the Cavern Club, Albert Dock and plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping. Lime street station is also a few blocks away. Our room had a queen bed and was small but still had enough room for 2 people to move around comfortably. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious enough. We were on the first floor on a weekend but Liverpool is a relatively early city, so there wasn't much noise at all. Staff was very helpful. Take cash for taxis. It can still be hard to get Uber here.

"Christmas shopping trip"
bahrain080, 17 Décembre 2018

Took my mum to Liverpool for a Christmas trip and stayed at the Heywood House hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the rooms was spotless and comfortable with every amenity you need. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Liverpool and I would highly recommend it and will certainly book again next time I'm coming to Liverpool. Thank you for a lovely stay

"Great central hotel"
JasonH2665, 07 Décembre 2018

Great hotel with charming rooms with a modern feel. The bed is very comfy with a good strong shower and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also make sure you go for breakfast as it is amazing and served in the restaurant next door.

"I wouldn't.."
Jenn3303, 05 Décembre 2018

Stayed in room 308 for mine & my partners anniversary stay & unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The room was okay to be honest, but the bed & pillows were very uncomfortable, which would make for a bad night sleep but to top it off, we heard deliveries, bottle bin emptying & bin emptying too. We both slept awfully. We had mentioned our anniversary when booking so would of expected something a bit better, especially on a Tuesday night. Very disappointing.

"Not comparable to cost!!"
santo50, 01 Décembre 2018

My son & partner booked this for a catch up weekend for us both as he'd never been to Liverpool. Have to say for an average of £200+ pn we wasn't impressed, rooms not what we would call high quality, no mini fridge, cracks in the wall along ceiling line, bath plug on side of bath instead of in situ. Came back after being out to find the cups we'd used for tea in morning, one had been cleaned the other left on bedside with tea remnant still in it, ice bucket which had been left with a bottle of wine (complimentary) i believe, was still there containing water, and glasses. Not soundproof, could hear next door bar and seagulls!!! On plus side, bed comfortable, power shower good, balcony which is good if you're a smoker and good location for town & Albert Dock Will not be returning, better accommodation available for half the price.

"Good weekend"
Andy B, 28 Novembre 2018

Very nice hotel in the centre of Liverpool with good room and en-suite .. only slight negative is if you're a light sleeper there's a busy bar next door but otherwise it's great. Plus 40% reduction at secure car park.

"Delightful Hotel"
Jenks63, 15 Novembre 2018

Excellent reception staff, lovely comfortable room, very quiet despite being city centre. Lovely bar, Alchemist, attached. Excellent value for money. Best parking is Q park, for which you get 40% discount with voucher from hotel.

"Perfection!"
812kristynam, 13 Novembre 2018

This trip was wonderful, apart from Liverpool being a great city, the Heywood House Hotel was literally perfect. We checked in in late afternoon and there was Rob on the front desk, telling us everything we need for our stay! I work in hospitality business myself, so I always have high expectations regarding everything - the staff, cleanliness, service - this was the first time I couldn't find even a little thing to complain about! :) The room was amazing, the seat under the window was absolutely perfect, the bathroom was clean and big and bright. Our room wasn't the biggest, but what do you need when you are on a holiday for couple of days? A place to sleep in, right? We basically only slept in the hotel, but it was enough. The TV has multiple English channels (maybe even foreign, but we didn't really care about those), the beds are comfortable, plugs right next to the bed, coffee machine in the room, wardrobe, small fridge, mirrors, bathroom with a bathtub, shower gel, body lotion, shampoo everything at hand, AC/heater which is easy to work with and perfectly fine working wifi. The hotel is straight in the center, 5 mins walk from the Liverpool One Bust Station, 3 mins walk to the Cavern, amazing restaurants/bars around - you can go to the Alchemist for breakfast which is superb or to Manhattan Bar & Grill on the other side for dinner or drinks. Everywhere is amazing staff. I travel a lot but honestly I've never met so many nice people in one place. Everyone is friendly, helpful and above that you can get amazing Beatles experience, because the Cavern and the Grapes are basically corner away. I am planning on taking my mum to Liverpool next year and this hotel will definitely be my first choice.

"Lovley hotel"
Maps25333831708, 10 Novembre 2018

The hotel was in a good location within the city centre, 10 mins from liverpool 1. Lovley hotel, clean and modern. Room was a little small but had everything we required. Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. And the price was extremley reasonable. Would definatley stay again and recommend.

"Good location"
toni188, 10 Novembre 2018

We stayed at Heywood House for one night, the location is great it is close to the docks, Liverpool one shopping centre and all restaurants and bars. The hotel offers a discount on parking at Liverpool one so 24 hours cost us £11.50, we thought this was quite good. The room was nice, cosy but quite dark. The bathroom was actually a wet room, I don't know if every room was like this or if we just happened to be assigned to this room as there was one spare, as this would have been better for those who actually needed it. The toilet had green and brown stains on the seat which I couldn't get off myself.. not nice to see and should have been replaced really. Overall a nice average hotel bed was very comfortable and hotel offered good discounts for nearby restaurants and parking.

"Clean, Quiet and a fantastic location"
SpandMaTraveller, 06 Novembre 2018

Spent just one night here a few days ago, using a Smart Box voucher my daughter bought for me as a birthday present. This hotel doesn't look much from the outside, but once over the threshold, it is very pleasant so don't be put off. We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the front of the hotel on the third floor - very quiet, very clean and loads of Tea / Coffee / Chocolate supplies. On stepping out, the main shopping area is about 300 yards up the hill, and the Albert Dock about the same down the hill (Mersey Ferry Terminal). It's about 100 yards from the statue of Queen Dicktoria (That's not a spelling mistake - ask a local.) You can have a breakfast in the adjoining restaurant at a cost of £15 pp. On the other side of the hotel is a bar that opens at 0900 hrs and does a cracking full English for £6.50. No brainer - Less than £10 with orange juice and a cup of tea. When I go back to Liverpool, this will be the first place I'll Look.

"Long weekend stay"
Mark A, 02 Novembre 2018

Great hotel and brilliant location to visit such a great city. We stayed on top floor and had a balcony terrace. Unfortunately it was October but I can image summer evening with a drink in hand would be very nice. Hotel is modern, clean and tidy. Excellent staff and lovely rooms and facilities. If definitely stay there again and would highly recommend

"Great break"
Alex H, 02 Novembre 2018

Stayed for two nights, great location, just a few minutes from James st station and the docks, and within easy reach of shops, bars and restaurants. Room well presented, more than big enough and really clean, staff really helpful. Had breakfast both mornings in the alchemist, which is next door (really good!). Had an amazing evening meal at the Heritage, round the corner, amazing tapas bar, superb food, great service and so cheap. Check it out on trip advisor. 3 plates and a bottle of wine £20, + another three plates, perfect for dinner for two. We also had cocktails. If we come back we would stay here again and eat at Heritage again. Great break. Thank you

"Great Hotel with exceptional staff"
Wanderer62094033263, 30 Octobre 2018

The hotel is fantastic, rooms are a good size with everything you need and everywhere is immaculately clean. The location is great, about a 5 minute walk from the Liverpool One shopping area and less than 15 minutes from Lime Street Train station. As good as the hotel is the staff are just amazing, Ellie in particular went above and beyond to help us out when our travel agent messed up. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

"Lovely hotel "
moogieblue, 28 Octobre 2018

This hotel was clean comfortable with friendly helpful staff , in walking distance of museums and places of interest highly recommend we had discount for overnight parking which was a bonus the rooms were modern with tea and coffee making facilities (which I love )

"Good quality accommodation. Central location."
Craig A, 28 Octobre 2018

I visited for the weekend 26 & 27 October. Check in staff were very friendly. Room was clean, presented well and the bathroom very nice. I was pleased especially by a separate bath from the shower unit. Very relaxing. We opted for room only as the breakfast deal at the Alchemist didn't really appeal to us. There's loads of cheaper options very close to hotel so don't be put off. WiFi was a little patchy but you can log onto the Alchemist bar as an alternative. (It had a stronger signal at some points). My only criticism was that the Alchemist bar next door is quite noisy till about 1am so that might put some people off at weekends. I'd still recommend this place.

"Wish we'd had longer."
wills76, 26 Octobre 2018

Just returned from a one night stay at this lovely hotel. Hotel is in a great location. Our room was a standard double it was a good size, clean and had all we needed for an over night break. The staff were really friendly. We love visiting Liverpool and will definitely stay here if we come again.

"Breakfast Arrangements Need Reviewing "
philipjhey, 26 Octobre 2018

We always stay at Haywood House for our short stays. Rooms excellent, staff polite and helpful. However when we checked in this time the receptionist told us that they were now part of a chain and there was an arrangement with the Alchemist restaurant next door for breakfast. We decided to try this and paid £15 each and were given a voucher for the following morning. When we went through to the restaurant (there is a connecting door from the hotel) we were greeted by the staff and seated. The waiter explained the menu and asked if we would like a complimentary glass of water! When we mentioned that we had paid in the hotel we were then told we could only order the first 2 items on the menu full English or veggi equivalent. This was ok for me but my wife only wanted croissants which they didn't have. The embarrassed waiter said he would see what he could do. He came back an said my wife could have some bread instead of the full English and we wouldn't be charged extra! She eventually asked if the American breakfast was an option and this is what she had. There was no benefit to us in paying in advance for a extremely restricted choice. It would have been cheaper to pay for what we ordered. In future we will use Pret A Manger round the corner £10 not £30! Heywood house should seriously review this arrangement as it does not offer value for money for their customers.

"Won't be going back"
Adam R, 24 Octobre 2018

First, the room was very comfortable. No complaints at all. but, there is no restaurant. Breakfast is served in the pub next door and that doesn't open until 8am too late for me. I need to be at work by 8:30. One day the pub wasn't even open for breakfast.

"Nice but NO internet in room 207 for 4 days!!"
Lisa S, 14 Octobre 2018

Lovely boutique hotel w nice location. Friendly staff. But, and this is a big but, i could not get the internet ro work despite repeated calls to front desk n even taking my computer down to them. The latter got me online as long as I was in the lobby. Maybe it was just my room! :(

"Hidden gem in Liverpool "
Sarah L, 14 Octobre 2018

Excellently located boutique hotel in Liverpool centre. We utilised a gift voucher for this booking and just had to pay £20 for it being a Friday night. The room was nicely decorated, clean and with everything you needed for an overnight stay. Large bathroom with a good shower. We also got 20% off our evening meal at The Alchemist round the corner booking the table through the hotel, we just had to remind The Alchemist. Also got good instructions on where to park which is only a few minutes walk into Liverpool one and a discount voucher, unfortunately this didn't work but that was a Q-park issue. Polite staff at reception. Would definitely stay again for a Liverpool stay.

"Great! "
Emmab22, 11 Octobre 2018

Stayed here for one night for work. The room was large, clean and comfortable and in a great location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay here again.

"Wonderful Liverpool Hotel"
Robert B, 10 Octobre 2018

My wife and had a regretably short stay at Heywood House Hotel in Liverpool. We could not have been more pleased with so many aspects. The rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. We were fortunate to have a "plush double" with balcony. Before leaving we asked to view a standard room for future visits. This was also spacious clean and well appointed. But best praise must go to the staff who are extremely good. Courteous, patient, articulate and very very helpful. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant facilities but it is right in the centre of the city tourist area and surrounded by all kinds of restaurants. Anyone wanting a centrally located clean and reasonably priced hotel need look no further. Heywood House is an excellent choice. Thank you to Rob and James.

"The perfect location"
NevilleO, 07 Octobre 2018

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, within walking distance of almost everywhere one would wish to go on a quick visit to Liverpool. Ideal for a weekend break. The rooms are small but very well equipped and thoughtfully designed to ensure a comfortable night's stay. Staff are friendly, unobtrusive and helpful. The absence of breakfast is a disadvantage, and the places close by that serve breakfast tend to be expensive. Otherwise ideal in most respects.

"Great hotel"
Stephen M, 28 Septembre 2018

Stayed for 1 night. Didn't expect much for the £47 i paid but was pleasantly surprised. Good sized rooms with tea/coffee making facilities, comfortable beds and extremely well decorated large bathroom. Staff were really helpful and very friendly. Would definitely go back there

"Great location but hotel is tired"
ManotickE, 24 Septembre 2018

My husband and I just spent three nights at this hotel. Overall we were very disappointed, based on the room rate that we were paying for two of the three nights (paid 576 pounds per night! for two of the nights). My first thought when we walked in the lobby was ‘buyer beware'. When we questioned the pre-paid rate, after walking into the hotel, everything was attributed to the soccer game at Anfield that weekend...even though we booked several months in advance of the schedule. The front office staff are extremely friendly and try to be helpful, but they are under staffed and often hard to reach. The rooms are ‘tired' and amenities are scarce. We believe there are better places to stay, at his price, in Liverpool.

"Comfortable and clean and great location"
TCT2, 21 Septembre 2018

This was my first time to stay here and I found it surprisingly good. Its in a great location for exploring the city and while the rooms and the hotel itself are small it is clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. The rooms are very well presented and its comfortable and quiet. I'd read some of the reports about noise outside but to be honest I heard nothing. Overall a very enjoyable stay

"Short break in Liverpool"
ShaCarterAllison, 21 Septembre 2018

Very well situated, clean and comfortable hotel. Been before and will come back! No breakfast included which is great as there are plenty of great places all round and likewise the availability of great bars to grab a drink nearby! All in all, highly recommend Heywood House.

"Comfortable and great location"
moorhey, 18 Septembre 2018

You cannot beat the location of this hotel - right on the doorstep of Liverpool One (for shoppers) and on the edge of the Matthew Street nightlife zone. I knew that breakfast was not included, but it was a shame that the hotel did not have an arrangement with one of the nearby restaurants offering breakfast. It would also help (as no breakfast provided) if there was a fridge in the rooms - just a drinks cabinet to keep some juice in for the morning.

"Liverpool Visit"
scampb495303, 17 Septembre 2018

Hotel Room was excellent with added bonus of balcony. The only downsides was that there was no onsite breakfast facility or allocated parking near by. The 'Offsite parking' discounted rates available Q car park was a good walk away from the hotel - no joke when you have to take luggage to and fro. The discount should be at least 50% off the parking.

"Liverpool stay"
egarni320426, 17 Septembre 2018

Great location with clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff.... a really good stay even for a light sleeper!the 40% discount for the car park was a welcome benefit , I will definitely stay at the Heywood again!

"Another amazing stay"
Jorna B, 17 Septembre 2018

I love staying at this hotel, lovely staff, central location and spacious rooms. I normally stay in October for my birthday every year but due to availability I have had to choose somewhere else. Value for money is amazing, will stay again soon. Thank you :D

"Amazing location"
Katie B, 13 Septembre 2018

I couldn't fault much at all - the one minor thing being the WiFi wasn't brilliant in our room but there was still some connection. The staff were friendly and really helpful. The room was a nice size and clean. And I don't think there could be a better location - a short walk either way to the docks or city centre with a lovely selection of restaurants a 2 minute walk away!

"A very good hotel"
800sophie, 12 Septembre 2018

Enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The gentleman on reception gave us extra tea and milk for our room, also discount vouchers for a nearby restaurant. He was very helpful. We paid a good price and the hotel is in a good location for looking around Liverpool. We also got discount on our car park charges. I highly recommend staying here.

"Heywood House Hotel,. Liverpool"
Bryan766, 10 Septembre 2018

The hotel gave us all we wanted or needed: a well-decorated, clean room and bathroom with comfortable beds. it was ideally situated for sightseeing in the city and, although so close to the busy dock area, was very quiet. The young people ( 4 different ones ) we encountered at the reception desk were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I would say is that we had trouble controlling the heating/AC. The control pad was situated in a corner of the room near the door where there was no adequate lighting and difficult to see.

Nice hotel with friendly helpful reception staff, rooms were clean and well maintained although a little dark for our liking. However we were told a 40% discount would be applied to the car parking charge at Q-Park Hanover St, when we tried to apply the discount card given to us by Heywood House the card was not recognised and we then had a choice to either walk all the way back to the hotel or pay the full parking fee for the two days we had been parked, we chose the latter because we needed to be back home to meet up with family, this spoilt the end of our stay and I would advise anyone else to check at an earlier opportunity (prior to actual departure) to see if the promised discount is actually valid !!!!

"Nice place to stay in the city centre"

The rooms are tidy and comfortable. The only thing I did not like that much was that the window was locked and the air conditioning was on all the time. The guest is not given much choice in this matter.

The hotel itself is very clean. The rooms are spacious too. Definitely worth more per night than what we paid! It's centrally located to the center of town, but not where it's too loud and you can't sleep. The beds are hard, but not so hard that you can't sleep. My husband and I got two twins and just pushed them together. I woke up from some noise my neighbors were making in the night, but I was able to go back to bed shortly after. The walls might have been thin, or we heard the neighbors through the vents, but I am an extremely light sleeper, so take what I say with a grain of salt! The water pressure on the shower is amazing, which can be a problem at many hotels! The reception manager, James, was so friendly. The night reception manager, who was an older gentleman, was very friendly and welcoming, despite the late time we came back to the hotel! Both of them really made us feel welcomed! You also get 20% off at a few restaurants by the hotel due to there not being a restaurant in the hotel. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well kept the hotel was. My expectations were much lower, due to the price, but I would definitely stay here again!

"Extremely comfy and perfectly located"

The hotel is located perfectly, is clean, well designed, and has several small details that make it a delight to stay in. Hot drinks are complementary, toiletries are great. The internet works fine from a computer. I didn't have breakfast included but there were plenty of places around to get it.

"Nice hotel, but noisy"

Stayed here last night in room 111 The rooms and hotel are lovely, perfect location. The bar next door is a little noisy but is to be expected in a busy city centre. Our issue was different and unsure if it's just that room or weather we where unlucky with the guests upstairs We where woken up several times during the night to the sound off water howling down a drain and the noise of a shower (4am.. 7am.. who showered twice during the night!) The sound off the toilet flushing all night, was starting to wonder weather the room was getting used as a brothel. Very little sleep and a 5 hour drive the following day.

"Excellent stay at Heywood House Hotel"

We drove from London for a couple of nights in Liverpool and had a great stay at this little boutique hotel. It was well located within walking distance of both Albert Dock and the main shopping area. The price of the room was very reasonable and we got a free room upgrade and a bottle of wine too! We were also given a discount voucher for a nearby car park which was very handy. The staff were very helpful and we had a really lovely time so would definitely use this hotel again!

"Very good location in Liverpool!"

Good location in a good hotel in Liverpool with the right price, very near to the city centre. Room was ok and breakfast in the pub close to the hotel was good. Suggested! The boy and the girl at reception were very king , thank you!
