Best Western Plus
Room is nice & clean. Hotel is located in industrial area outside of Lindau. about 10 min drive by bicycle. Breakfast is ok. but if you are a coffee lover and prefer a decent breakfast, book without and stop in a nice coffee & breakfast place.
First thing first when you come back at the hotel after lunch, you discover nobody cleaned the room, pretty bizarre. You go downstairs to ask what happened at the reception and you realised nobody care about your problem. You expect some excuse but you get no one. You believe they are going to treat you with respect and maybe give you a coffee or drink to wait during the time you have to wait in the hall...Nope, nothing. Second and last day, you discover you have to CHECK OUT AT 10AM like in youth hostel, you ask like 30mn more but at the recption they tell you its 10 euros more by hour and one more time nobody smile at the reception and look at you like you're an animal ! So...TOTAL DISRESPECT ! A NIGHTMARE ! NEVER NEVER NEVER ! FORGET THIS PLACE DEFINITELY !
This hotel was really nice. It had such nice rooms and service was excellent. Another good thing was free car parking space. The restaurant was awesome as well. I had such a nice dinner and the next morning the breakfast was so delish.
Probably the cleanest hotel we've been to! Easy access when traveling by car and no problem with parking! The staff is nice and attentive! Comfortable beds and big showers. Good value for money. This will definitely be our choice when traveling in the area!
The exterior will not win a beauty contest, and it is located a bit too far from the old town island, but otherwise this new and modern hotel has a lot to offer. Very friendly and welcoming staff to begin with, carafes of complimentary aromated water in the lobby, nicely furnished rooms with very comfortable beds and a good-sized bathroom. But not much room for putting away clothing, and an unfurtunate corner of a small cupboard just at head height... The restaurant was a very good addition for us, being a bit tired and not wanting to travel back into town for dinner. A limited menu, but what there is, is very good, tasty and well prepared. The breakfast buffet leves nothing to be desired, all you can want is there, from fresh, crusty bread to golden scrambled eggs, fruit and preserves. Parking is a sore point in Lindau, so the hotel`s offer of free parking is very welcome. If only it had been within walking distance of the old town, it would have earned 5 stars...
Situated on an industrial estate about 4km from Lindau the hotel offers ample free parking. There is a large car park by the bridge which accesses the insel and the walk into the Altstadt is very pleasant. The hotel accommodation was good, the air conditioning worked fine and the window opened if required but the shower was a bit slippery and the shower door didn't stay closed. Evening menu choice was limited but the food was well prepared and pleasantly served and the buffet breakfast was very good with lots of choice.
My wife and I visited Lindau for two days. The hotel is in a great location and provides plenty of parking for all the guest. To hotel is in a great location and I would suggest parking your car at hotel and take a 10 minute bike ride to the island of Lindau. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke good Eng ilish. The room was clean and the complementary breakfast you can't beat. A big bonus was the air conditioned. I would highly recommend this hotel. Perfect!
Stayed here for 2 nights and everything from staff to cleanliness was perfect as was breakfast but I don't feel I can award a score of 5 due to the air conditioning. The room was far to hot for our liking and we were unable to get the temperature lower as it seems to centrally controlled. The very nice receptionist tried to help but to no avail. Such a shame as otherwise would have given 5/5
We stayed 5 nights, the hotel was busy but there was ample parking. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious with a good shower. We had a free bottle of local water the first night but none after that! Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choice and was excellent. We didn't use the restaurant as it had a fairly limited and not very exciting menu. Service was good all round. The only drawback was that the hotel is located about 30-40 minutes walk from the Lindau Insel where all the nice restaurants are located but the walk is lovely on a footpath by the side of the Bodensee with lots of wildlife to see.
I've stayed here a couple times as it is convenient off the interstate, is newly built with quality finishes and decor and afforded me a nice sleep and good breakfast to start the next day. Rooms are comfortable and have a taste of style. Close to Lindau old city but with free parking. Like the little touches like boutique style soap and eco friendly minimal plastic usage. They were even able to accommodate storage of our bikes we didn't want to leave outside on the car overnight. I hope they continue to improve their environmental practices with the way they serve the breakfast buffet with minimal plastic and serving fresh as demand requests. I will likely visit again.
New hotel only one year old Clean and tidy Nice small bar Rooms fresh and comfortable Internet speed was good Restaurant food is a bit limited for choice but not bad. Breakfast selection is good but difficult to get a table so get down early. Free parking all around the hotel gets full too
The hotel is quite new, and the interior looks very nice and stylish. Which also applies to the rooms. Any other than the 4 points below is all at a good standard. Four things not to my satisfaction. - The registration takes a long time. - The room has no chair, but just a hocker. If one needs to work at his computer this can be very tiring. - The temperature of the shower changes from very hot to very cold in just a second, and back again many time during my showering. (Probably due to other guest take a shower simultaneously.) With very hot I mean really hot. I didn't open the hot water tap completely to compensate the cold water temperature, but I wonder if I would have done. I consider this as a big minus, and also as an safety issue, surely if small kids would take a shower. - Last minus is the check out time, which is already at 10:00. I've been in many hotels before, but a check-out time at 10:00 I never seen before. Since I often need to attend conference calls in the morning I had to find another solution since my question to prolong the check-out time was not granted.
We stayed one night in our way to the Alps and we really liked it. Well located hotel with free parking and close to city center. The breakfast was really good and they had all sorts of gluten-free and vegan options! Very friendly staff with good advices for visiting Lindau's city center!
A wonderful hotel that is only 1.5 years old. Close to highway and charming old town. The views and the Christmas market are excellent. The staff was excellent, and the breakfast was awesome. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Happy, busy , welcoming staff.....bright rooms, but with a strange layout whereby the suitcase stand is immediately under the sharp edges/corner of the wall cabinet - ready to really hurt you if you try and bend over into your suitcase (several of our group commented on this). Basic internet is very weak, but you pay 4.99 a day for an adequate one. Why? And for BW to build a new hotel with no international sockets and no USB sockets is astonishing, The meals were all first class.
The hotel is extremely comfortable with modern, well equipped rooms. It proved extremely good value. There is ample parking on site, although upon arrival at 2300hrs it was full - popular hotel! The personnel on reception were wonderful - could not fault the check-in. If only all Best Westerns could attain this standard!
We stayed three nights at this rather new and modern hotel, located in the vicinity of Lindau. There is a McDonald's and a gas station next door, and it is easy to get to the hotel from the motorway. Free parking is available right outside the hotel, which also has a restaurant on site. Apart from this there is not many places to go for dinner within walking distance. Lindau is actually an island, so if you wish to visit the beautiful old town at the lake, be prepared to go there by bus or drive to one of the parking garages located on or close to the island. Parking is not cheap here, but obviously this is necessary to keep the old town such a nice place. Very friendly and service minded staff at the front desk made us feel very welcome. Our business room was spacious and well appointed with all the amenities you would expect. The bathroom was okay, but the drain did not work very well, maybe it just needed a cleaning. We experienced a rather cool day, where we found it difficult to get a comfortable temperature in the room. Breakfast was generally good with both hot and cold choices.
The property was much more than wat I expected. There was free parking. The girl at the reception was very warm and welcoming. She explained everything very nicely. The room was amazing. It had all the facilities possible. But the best part of my stay was the Breakfast. It was the best breakfast spread I have ever seen. The variety was things was unreal. WiFi was good too. An amazing experience. Will definitely stay again and recommend it to others. Thank You
Friendly staff, affordable, near to the highway that connects Munich and Austria- 45 min walk distance to island, 10 min walk to bus stop to Zup. Good breakfast too. Got the only McD 2 min away. Near industrial area, can be a boring view. Ample car parking space though.
Hotel seems new: everything clean and well maintained, including bathroom which had power-shower and was very well lit. Comfortable bed. Self-service breakfast very good too. Location a little outside Lindau and therefore, car essential. Hotel has plenty of free parking.
I'm here for vacation and the hotel is far of Lindau Hauptbahnhof HBF, far for táxi and have a not good internet. The hotel is new, clean and friendly, but not good restaurant. The internet access work good just in lobby, in my room the signal is poor.
In terms of cleanliness and service quality, the hotel is outstanding. It comes with a buffet breakfast option, which is good because there aren't a whole lot of restaurants in that stretch. The hotel is a bit far away from the Lindau Marina - which offers a view of alps and marina.
This is a new'ish hotel of good quality for a budget price. It is clean and the rooms are well presented with modern lines. The bathrooms are clean and modern. All in all a great place to stay. The reason it gets four stars and not 5 is due to the fact that it offers a very basic menu in the restaurant.
I stayed here 6 days as business trip. It was established in 2017, so everything were very new and clean. Staffs were very friendly. As usual, room does not have refrigerator then it's little bit disappointed for me. WLAN was available everywhere but only one device could connect at same time. Breakfast was excellent. Everything were delicious and so much kind of foods were available. Very comfortable hotel and I recommend here.
Booked last minute. A little outside of Linda so you really do need a car. Excellent friendly check in and check out Room very very clean as was the bathroom Excellent choice for Breakfast Would I consider staying here again? YES!
It is a brand new hotel. Really nice and tasteful rooms. All of course taking the price into consideration. Nice staff. Location is somewhat middle of nowhere, but the historical inselstadt is only 3km away. We were tired our first night and ate in the hotel restaurant. Very limited menu, but food better than expected (feared). Overall a good experience and a great option for a pitstop. Recommended
We were en route from place to place and wanted something near the Autobahn with interesting surroundings, warm, easy parking, breakfast etc. Booked this online and we were very happy! The staff was VERY helpful, ordered food for delivery for us, and made our stay very easy and nice. Highly recommend and look forward to returning. Had a quiet room, opposite the busy road. Breakfast was best ever with variety and exquisite choices for all!
We went down there for 4 days just for a short break and it will not be the last time even though its about a 7 hour drive to get there, but there are plenty of interesting places to stop on the way down. The hotel is within walking distance of lake Constance and the old town of Lindau. The hotel has been modenised and is clean and tidy and the stall are very helpful and friendly .
This a very modern hotel. Décor is very modern and well done. Has an excellent breakfast buffet. The restaurant is open in the evening with a very limited menu, but for us after a day of traveling, served our purposes just fine. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They have a small bar for cocktails. Also notice that it seemed to be a favorite stopping place for bicyclists. They had a storage room for they bikes also.
We'd booked while this was still under construction - we were very glad to see it Fully built on arival. Not on SatNav but we'd looked on Google maps so know there was a McD's near by made it east to find. Not in a particularly picturesque area & a 15 euro Taxi ride to the island. Rooms were large warm and confortable, reception were very helpful. Shower was very good & after a wet day on the bike most welcome. Everything you could need at a reasonable price. Breakfast was the best of the trip.
So it's only been open for 6 weeks and outside not finished. Lights around car park are still not ready and our navigation system did not have it registered. Head for the McDonald's next to it Rooms are very small unless you book a larger one (recommended). See floor plan Teething problems in the rooms too with pillow cases not on pillows, internet not working, key did work in door, shower temperature varies widely when others showering - little but annoying things. Also I am sure Best Western have built many such hotels but there seem to be such flaws. The wash basin has no space as it is cluttered with stuff. Shower door bangs up against wash basin Beds are comfy - pillows on the large size. I am Best thing was breakfast buffet. Although woefully inadequate seating the buffet itself was excellent. Helpful staff too. Give it a couple of months and when ready it will be 4 point worthy.
The best thing about this hotel is the excellent breakfast, which was close to perfect. The receptionist were nice and helpful but we asked about a sign asking guests not to lean over Front desk. The receptionist said they needed this sign to keep their privacy as they found it difficult if guest hung to close over their work area. I found this very unusual. The negatives are this hotel are many. The first is it is in a fairly ugly urban outskirts with a noisy road. The interior design was probably expensive materials but with a rather disjointed and unattractive result. Room had good lighting but very dark overall feel to the room. A mix of many different wood colours, patterned carpets, plastic looking banquets and granite. Lighting was in the wrong places, machinery like coffee machines did not fit counters, etc. The receptionist apologised for having no restaurant open in the evening saying the Chef had gone home ill! The guests rooms had so many design faults along with other issues... 1. Guest room doors did not close automatically, which might be against fire regulations? 2. Bathroom door conflicts with door to hall. 3. No closet, just messy hangers on a hook in room. 4. Super slippery shower tray that is dangerous 5. No towel rails in bathroom 6. Building materials in car park 7. Exterior lighting was missing with just wires coming out of walls. Overall quite disappointed except for lovely staff.
This is a new hotel that only opened 3 weeks ago. The outside area is still a bit of a building site, with some areas not fully completed but this will get sorted out. There are no marked disabled parking places (yet) which means disabled access is a bit limited. Currently, you may not be able to park very close to the hotel entrance. However, you can safely stop outside the front door of the hotel, if required. The double room we occupied was very nice, tastefully furnished, modern and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was air conditioning and the windows have motorised blinds that offer you total darkness on the brightest day. You should sleep well. The bathroom was nice and brightly lit and the shower was excellent. Strangely, there are no towel rails in the bathroom so, beyond one single hook on the back of the door, there is nowhere to hang your (used) towel, other than put it on the surface next to the washbasin, or on the floor! Breakfast included a range of hot & cold food, juice, tea coffee etc. There was plenty of seating too, even during busy periods. Everything is new, including the staff. These new staff are clearly still finding their feet. The management of breakfast was frenetic, and at times chaotic. Supplies for the coffee machines and some of the food ran out and was not replenished quickly; some customers were quite frustrated by this. I'm sure these teething troubles will get sorted - These are minor points rather than major flaws - overall the hotel was good. We would happily stay here again as we expect any teething problems to resolve over the next few weeks. Sadly, the hotel does not seem to have view of Lake Constance but it is not far to walk to.
The Best Western Marina Star is located outside of the city center approx. 3km away from Lindau Island in the Lake Constance. Onsite parking is for free and if you have a car the distance to the town center is not an issue. The hotel itself is brand new and almost finished. During our visit -which was mid-July – there was still some minor exterior work going on. Our room, which was decently sized, featured modern interior and a nice, well equipped bathroom. The room was very clean as well. Breakfast was included in our rate; however, there was not much choice. Nevertheless, everything was fresh and tasty. Overall, the hotel was excellent value for money.
On our way to Italy we stopped for a night at this hotel. It is really nice to be some of the first guests in the rooms. The rooms are big. Very good beds. No traffic noise. Very good wifi. Free parking. Easy to find a place to park. And easy acces to and from the highway. The breakfast was included in our stay, and it was really good. Only downside of the hotel is the place. Quite far from the beautiful lindau city and the lake. The hotel is placed in a industry area. So only neighbors are a McDonald's and gasoline station. But for a night on the way to Italy it is good value for money.
