« Quick getaway Wonderful Hotel!! »

We found this hotel while searching for hotels in Bloomington IL. This was a wonderful find! 30 minutes away from the show we were catching. The hotel was was modestly priced too. We had a beautiful room (Honeymoon Suite) This included a spacious room with a Jacuzzi tub and modern decor. The staff was wonderful! We will be back for sure. Warm soup was perfect after a a brisk walk in the afternoon downtown Lincoln.

« Stayed just one night »

Good hotel. Clean and comfortable. Only stayed one night but plan on staying here again in the future. Was on the second floor near the mid stairwell. Thought I was going to have to request a move due to doors slamming right around bedtime. Kicked on the bath fan and set the fan heater to a constant setting and it drowned out all the noise from the people down the hall. Great beds!! To the gentleman who sets up and cares for the dining area in the morning, well done!!! I honestly don't know how you do it as I would loose my mind with some of the animals that walk upright in our society. You not only handled them with grace and poise but you did it with a pride that is hard to find in employees. I came back down at 10 to tell you in person but you were already gone. Lights off, entire area spotless and the floor freshly moped. Nice job. :)

« Well kept, great customer service »

Room was well supplied, extra supplied blanket was provided upon request, the room was spacious, clean, and staff courteous. The morning breakfast was more than adequate and hot. Highly recommended. Do it

    « Good Hotel but... »

We arrived late night. First we checked bed bugs, not found. Cleaning seemed to good, but the toilett was full with ****. Disgusting. We were too tired to move another room, instead of we flushed the toilett. Only one movement, why not was done by the cleaning staff? And how did not checked after cleaning? The soap and shampoo run out.. Breakfast area and staff was great, and food was ok. We talked about our experience to the front desk lady, who apologised and promised gives some BW Rewards points, what I am waiting since we left the hotel.

    « Cold and mice! »

We stayed there January 1, 2018 and the weather was -9. After getting to the room I looked out the window and there was a lot of cold air coming in around the window and the heater/air conditioner unit. I put the curtains up around the window the best I could and asked housekeeping for a towel to put over the top of the heater. During the night I kept checking my phone to see what the temp was and my battery was getting low so I got my charger to plug my phone it and when I did I felt something like a small electric shock on my toe. I used the light of my phone to see what it was and when I looked down it was a mouse. The mouse had bitten my toe. I hurried and turned on the light and the mouse took off under the door to the hallway. I called the front desk and he said it was field mice and he has just seen on by the front desk. The people were very friendly but I don't think I would stay there again.

« Visiting for the Holiday! »

Great stay, Clean room, Great Breakfast, Hot Soup in the evening. I will come back. Desk Clerk Friendly, Great for business meetings. Andrew the cook does a great job of preparing the food. Great place to stay!

« Great quality for the price with great staff! »

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They provided goody bags for my kids daily and even had complimentary soup everyday. They found out my daughter loves broccoli and made that soup an option for the following two days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Friendly »

The staff was friendly. i was greeted with a smile by Bailey at the front desk. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is easy to find. the bowling alley next door was ok.

    « Overall very good »

We had a very nice stay. The service was good and check in and out was easy. The breakfast was very good. The wifi worked well. The bathrooms in the room are small. The sink and mirror are not in the same room with the shower and toilet. The beds where more on the soft side but still firm and the pillows where very puffy .

    « Best Western »

Hotel was older but clean. The staff was helpful. Check in and out was very easy. Would stay again if we are ever in the area again. The wifi worked well. We were there in the winter but they do have a nice pool area. It is convenient to the downtown area. Right next to a bowling alley.

    « old and smelly »

smelled musty and old thru out no carpet in room just peel and stick cheap fake wood shower head wouldn't work right bed was uncomfortable to bed cover looked dirtyroom was large with a better bed and nice flooring and smells removed could be a good hotel but is off the main drag in a small town

    « Poor Housekeeping »

Hotel has easy access, quiet location, very friendly and helpful front deck staff, good and hotel breakfast with great choices. Hotel has been remodeled recently. My only complaint with the hotel is that it has probably the poorest housekeeping staff the I have had anywhere, they need to be trained and made to do what they are hired to do or fired!

    « Nice Room »

The room itself was nice enough. Very disappointed that we got a room with a hot tub that was SO SMALL one person could hardly fit in it, much less two. Breakfast was not good at all. Eggs where dried out, sausage tasted blah. Breakfast attendant was very polite. I had to wait at counter for 10 minutes or so to purchase something from the shelf, there was no front desk clerk around. She was not very friendly. Maids where very polite and greeted us worh smiles.

    « not so best »

this hotel should not carry the best western logo. we've stayed at many different hotels and have been welcomed in a more professional manner than this hotel. the staff needs a meeting on how to properly handle their guests requests.

« You get what you pay for »

Room cleanliness was extremely dissatisfying. Jetted tub had soap scum rings, bedding was stained, wallpaper coming off in bathroom, dust and dirt in corners. Price was good but again you get what you pay for. The front desk staff was very apologetic for the room issues. I highly suggest that this hotel take a good look at their cleaning staff as they appear to be highly lazy in my opinion.

    « Not again! »

Will not stay again room smelled terrible, shower would not drain, mold all along the top of the shower area, and the toilet had a small leak out of the bottom. Overall the hotel was dirty and had a distinct smell!

« This Rose is a wonderful flower »

We broke down on our way north and had to spend an unexpected night in Lincoln. The manager, Rose, did everything possible to make sure we were well taken care of beginning at check in with a follow up call to the room to make certain all was in order. Great room, good price, fantastic service!

    « Great stay »

Hidden off the highway this motel provided great value, good facilities and exceptional service. The rooms were of a good size and well equipped. The staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided a good start to the day. Worth the short detour!

    « over night stay »

I booked two rooms, one for me and one for my granddaughter and her friend. The things I found that could use some TLC is, the room was very dusty and that could have been because of having the windows open, but it looked as though the dust had been there for quite some time. Also the lady in charge of breakfast, when I asked her a question, answered me but didn't seem to friendly. I will use this hotel again in the future if needed to.

« Best stay right here! »

Pristeen clean indoors and out, fabulously fresh, up to date interior, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Soft bed, hot water, roomy accommodations. 24 hr coffee, decaf, tea, cocoa. Included hot breakfast of all the Right stuff. Right off Route 66. Cute little town with nice balance of historical sites, interesting downtown shops, and standard retailers. Only minor downside: noticeable nearby racetrack noise from 7-10 pm, but tv volume muffled that until they shut down. Then total quiet. You won't be sorry you rested here. I would definitely stay again.

    « Way off the beaten path~~~~~ »

This is an older property and is need of a good scrubbing!! The outside door closest to my room did not work with the room key. The carpet in front of my room had a "hump' in it like it had been flooded at one time. My room had an unusual smell to it, also. The room was definitely one you'd want to wear slippers in. I'm sorry to say the the breakfast room was in disarray when I got there. Out of bread for toast, eggs were out also, very messy and the garbage, you couldn't fit another thing in it. I went to the front desk to say something and the one girl came right away to make things right. Good customer service there!! But said the breakfast person was sent to do something else???? Yah, outside smoking and texting. LOL There are other places to stay off the interstate and you don't have to "look" hard. The only PLUS about this hotel was the outside pool. Nice

    « Ehhh. »

Our room had stuff in the drawers from a previous guest, and the bathroom was not cleaned well with grim in the corners and the toilet had stains. Breakfast was surprisingly good, the pool was outdoor and ehh, ok. Its just a hotel, there is no bugs or anything really nasty. Its cheap and ok.. but don't expect anything amazing.

    « Avoid this place. »

I guess it does not matter if you have a reservation . I had a reservation confirmation number but was rudely told there were no rooms open. The person at the front desk made no offer to help. Even had a printed confirmation of my reservation. I will never stay at a Best Western again

    « Quaint and Friendly »

the hotel is comfortable and quiet, the front desk clerk and Operational Manager was very friendly and polite as well and professional, the housekeeping staff could be a little more careful when cleaning the shower and refrigerator but nothing major. I will definitely come back. My other suggestion is for an air freshener of some sort because there is a old and slightly musty smell as you enter the lobby area

« Excellent service, nothing to do around »

Every hotel has issues, and this one is not different- some corridor noise, no safe in the room and almost nothing to do around the hotel but it all depends on how the crew reacts to these issues, and in this hotel- they react promptly, with care and agility. Some examples: 1. I got to the hotel after flying and driving for hours just to find out that the room that I reserved a month ahead via a well-known aggregator site was actually overbooked (by the aggregator probably) and the hotel is sold out. Instead of just sending us on our way, the desk rep went out of her ways to find us a solution, in that hotel or in another near-by, finally having me stay the full 4 days in a room in the same hotel, paying the original deal price I was supposed to pay via the aggregator! 2. Due to allergies I'm limited in the types of food and what I could eat ran out one morning. The front desk rep (different one) got the kitchen super on the phone (without my asking her too!), to come down and cook an extra for me after breakfast was already over, knocking on my door to bring me a plate, to my surprise, so I won't stay hungry! 3. Hotel reps are just nice and trying to help with anything possible, like trying to assist us in finding activities as we were bored or just chat and be friendly. That's service and it overcomes everything else in my view. One thing that is out of hotel's responsibility is that mobile phone reception was poor in our room and corridor and worked only outside near the pool.

« This was not quite what I thought but ok. »

Normally BW is top notch. This one is fading and needs upgrades. Its ok but bumpy driveway, hard to spot off the highway and not too near to where I wanted. The beds were comfy enough and the breakfast basic but decent.

« Excellent value and very nice property »

Reasonably-priced and excellent value as a clean, well-maintained property with all the amenities for a budget-saving but short drive from access to area highways and food services with local activity nearby!

« Nice location to city functions and fairgrounds! »

It is close to highways and central to the fairgrounds and several functions sponsored by the City of Lincoln. Good appearance and very clean with friendly and professional staff. Excellent value, too.

    « Hospitality »

I have had a wonderful time at the hotel and I have to say rose is the best costumer service employee at the hotel I was pleased at the warm welcome by rose when I had a head ache and couldn't get to sleep got some medicine quickly and went to sleep best employee need more like her!

    « quite location »

This location is about 3 - 5 miles from the interstate. It was not hard to find and the location was very quite. Pillows were a bit lumpy, but still got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was very tasty and well presented.

    « Amazing »

When I arrived at Best Western, the front desk receptionist, Bailee was so helpful!!! Considering I was in a sour mood, she even managed to lift my spirit. She was very patient with me and my many questions. Very sweet and kind employee.

    « Dirty room »

As were spent time we noticed different things. the was a piece of lime on the floor by the bed between the bed and the night table. It was black so indications are it had been there for some time. Upon using the shower, found the shower gel container empty. There was a bar soap available. On the floor in the area of the sink and the entry to the bathroom was concrete material. Evidence that the room had not been vacuumed for some time,

    « Weekend getaway »

Was pleasantly surprised at this hotel after reading several poor reviews. My check-in was smooth, room was clean and nicely decorated. Had a great outdoor pool, an above average breakfast and the price was great!

    « Lincoln »

Over all nice hotel. Would use again. Hopefully will get my reservation right. They only had us for one night instead of 2. But was taken care of, but didn't get my AARP discount on 2nd night. Person taking reservation needs to make sure they have it right,

« Hotel stay from hell »

Wasn't satisfied that it took 4 hours to finally get into my room and once I was in my room the guest around me were very very noise I was told they would have to clean another room that would take another 45 min. To clean I said forget it and just dealt with the noise by then I so very tired and exhausted there is 1 upside to all of this the 2 women that were there on this Saturday was awesome they did everything In their power to make thing right it wasn't there fault that their employees didn't show up for work hats off to the manager on duty and the front desk agent that was there on Saturday

    « Poorly managed property »

Had terrible experience when checking in. First room was good but fridge not working so requested change. Next room smelled dirty -smoke or animal so asked if something else available. Opened door to third room and was met by German Sheppard and owner. Rooms 4 & 5 had not been made up since last guests. At this point we were upgraded to best available room - a nice gesture but the whole situation was avoidable had management been aware of what was happening in the hotel. If you intend to stay here check out your room before bringing in your luggage. Also breakfast was poor.

    « New Hotel »

Very new, very clean. Staff looks professional and are friendly and helpful. 24 hour coffee in the lobby. Snack "store" available. Have a strict no noise policy from 10 pm to 6 am and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. So this is a quiet hotel. Room was spacious and nice. Bed was a bit firm. Breakfast was your average hotel fare. However they did have quite a selection of gluten free options. Waffle maker was out of order. Good variety of yogurts, fresh fruits, cereal, oatmeal, bagels and muffins. Along with omelets, scrambled eggs and bacon. Check out was quick. They only have 2 luggage carts and guests often don't return then to the lobby like requested so getting one is like winning the lottery.

    « Who's Serving? »

The biggest problem we had with this Best Western was the Breakfast Buffet. This was our 5th "over nighter" here. The trays of both types of eggs and the sausage tray were either completely empty or maybe a half serving. The serving lady was busy talking with the desk clerk instead of doing her job.

« Best Value in north central Illinois »

A short drive on the Business I-55 takes you to a quiet location. updated rooms, a fresh hot breakfast, scrambled eggs and sausage all for 40% less than the motels right off the interstate.!! You can actually open the windows and listen to the crickets.

    « Overnight stay »

We were in town for one night. The hotel was very clean. Beds were soft, but pillows could have been a little better. Breakfast had hot food choices (pancakes, sausage, eggs, french toast), not just toast and donuts. They also had fresh fruit, yogurt, etc.

« Great Room for the Price »

My husband and I stayed here on our way to Chicago from Kansas City and found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, and a great value. Front desk service was helpful and friendly. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others. We booked online and paid only $68 with tax!

    « A few issues »

Nice and clean hotel. There is a quiet time from 10pm to 6am. Sadly, this did not make it any easier to sleep. In our room, we could hear water running loudly through the walls anytime our upstairs neighbors used their shower, sink, or toilet. That combined with the hall light that flashed all night long, contributed to very little sleep.

« Seems to be on a downhill slide »

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of time because it is close to my parents house. Last time was at Thanksgiving. When I walked into the hotel the first thing I noticed was the smell. Not sure what it was but it was not a clean smell. The smell was throughout the entire hotel. The breakfast was still the same spread but the eggs were very overdone. On the last day we were there we left at 4 AM and the breakfast was already laid out. It is not supposed to be out until 6 AM. While this was nice for us it explains why the eggs were so over cooked. The hotel was not dirty but seemed not to be maintained very well.

    « Good value »

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Exelent saff, clean rooms, breakfast is good. I will stay here again in the future. I will say some rooms are nicer than others. I am pickey about water pressure and only had one room that had weak pressure. Might have been several guest running water at the same time. Over all good experience.

    « Right off old 66 »

Great pricing and extremely clean rooms. We stay here every time we are in Lincoln. You are just minutes away from the Postville Courthouse, the building downtown where the conspiracy to steal Lincoln's body was started, the Lincoln College and the old Lincoln Lakes. Stay in Lincoln and play a round of golf at the old Elks Course. Go downtown and see the old square.

« OK site - changing ownership soon »

This hotel was about average for a Best Western - nothing fancy, but meets the need. There were some minor issues - the sink was backing up, and the hair dryer did not work on the last day there. Major concern - I was advised new ownership for this franchise was taking over later in March, and apparently all new staff will be coming in.

« We love this hotel »

This hotel is excellent! They are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are perfect for us and always clean and fresh. We had a family funeral to attend and several families came from different cities to attend. The staff were able to locate us all on the same hall so that we were close in proximity to each other and could visit easily during our stay.

    « Pleasant stay »

This was the second time I have stayed at the Lincoln Best Western. Both time the same lady checked me in. I was a very pleasant experience. She made sure she assigned us the exact room we needed. The decor of the room was nice. It was clean and everything was in working order

    « Trip »

Staff was excellent. Problem with a sheet so they gave me a new one. Problem with bath tub due to a non-working stopper. They will fix it before next guest. Over all experience was good. Breakfast food was average. Gravy could have been warmer.

« very nice facility with friendly staff and good rates located in town but still close to I-55 »

This is one of the nicer motels we stayed at on our last trip. Everything was in a good state of repair and both our room and the common facilities all looked clean and in good condition and were of decent quality. Everything in our room worked, was clean and looked nice, and we had all the conveniences expected such as fridge, microwave, hair dryer, closet, flat screen TV, etc. The TV got good reception. Our room was nicely decorated and had 2 big beds. The front desk clerk spent a lot of time with us helping us with our dining options and went out of her way in that regard. After we got to our room, she even called us to tell us she had forgotten to tell us about a drive through special dinner the next door civics group was putting on (they were Lions or Elks or maybe VFW) and that we might be interested in. Can't think of one negative about this place. Very nice. We would definitely stay here again. I did think of one negative--the outer door lock on one of the entrances is broken and as a security measure for the safety of the guests, they should fix that. But, that won't keep us from staying here again. FYI, this is the motel with the giant Railsplitter Covered Wagon with Abe Lincoln driving--the wagon sits out in front of the motel. The motel is also located very close to the bowling alley.

    « Excellent hotel »

Nice, clean hotel, friendly staff, close to restaurants, would stay there again when in area. It is close to Springfield, IL and is in a nice rural setting without the noise and traffic of a larger city.

    « Nice Place »

Second time at this Best Western. Nice clean place to stay with a very friendly and helpful staff. Great price and would stay there again if in this area. Motel about a mile off the interstate but close to several restaurants just a short easy drive to historic downtown.

« Great Staff, very nice facility »

Room was clean, comfortable and well laid out. had a King room, very spacious. Front desk staff Diana couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Two doors away is a bowling alley with a Pub & Grill that actually had decent food and a nice atmosphere. I'd return anytime.

« Great Experience, wonderful service, will return »

First of all, this hotel is conveniently located right beside American Legion Post 263. They offer draft and bottled beer as well as you favourite spirit. Met some wonderful folks there. They also have a few slot machines (state legalized gambling). On Mondays' they offer a small menu with good food at a fantastic price, dinner for 5 was $30. 00 non-alcoholic drinks included. A juke box and a Nevada ticket machine are also available. A shout-out to Vicki, the bartender, thanks, it was a blast :) A wonderful sports bar/10 pin bowling alley/state legal gambling spot/ small restaurant complex called "Logans Lanes" sits at the entrance of the driveway to the hotel. There are pool tables and shuffleboard too!!! Great folks, great service and great food. Both places are within easy walking distance and on the same property as the hotel. All other amenities are within easy driving distance. Big box stores, restaurants, banks etc all close by. There is also a hospital just up the road. Upon arrival, we were impressed with the grounds and the beautiful array of flowers and foliage in the gardens and entranceway. Lots of free parking too. The worlds' largest covered wagon sits out front with a giant statue of Abraham Lincoln seated on it, reading a book.Wonderful. The "RailSplitter", as it is known, is quite the tourist attraction and great for pics. As we entered the lobby we were greeted by Tracy with a big smile and welcome. Very pleasant and accomodating. The lobby was tastefully decorated in fall foliage, with a nice fireplace, planters and sofa, chairs and coffee table. Very inviting. Our room was clean and comfortable, with nice big comfy beds, a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker (coffee, tea and hot chocolate), ironing board and iron as well as a hairdryer in the bathroom area. There was a nice table for my suitcase but could have used an extra rack for my family members. The free WIFI worked very nicely and was easily accessed. There was also an extra comforter in the closet for those who prefer more warmth. A nice roomy dresser was there tool The air-conditioner worked like a charm and was very quiet, barely audible. Lots of outlets for chargers and such. Loved the body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispenser in the shower, great addition. This hotel has only 2 floors with a laundry room on the second floor and there is an elevator. Everything is handy, the ice machine, pop machine, exercise room, breakfast lounge and outdoor pool. There is also a little area where you can buy snacks, etc. The breakfast lounge is very nice, very clean with a flatscreen for those wanting to catch the news or whatever with breakfast. Breakfast is great, scrambled eggs, cheesey eggs on a bun, french toast (depending on the day, but it's all good) sausages (really good and I'm not usually that fussy on them but I had them every day I was there, haha) a pancake making machine, just push a button (once or twice etc, depending on how many you want) and in a couple of minutes you have nice fresh hot pancakes, butter, syrup and cinnamon, mmmm. They have sugar free syrup for those who prefer it. There is also yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals, bagles, biscuits and gravy (didn't try those) and a couple of different pastries for those with a sweet tooth in the morning. Great coffee, a variety of teas, hot chocolate, orange and apple juice. Cream cheese, butter, jams, peanut butter, honey, milk and cream are all there. Breakfast starts at 6 am and ends at 10 am. They also provide what they call "Grab and Go" for those up too early for the breakfast, ask at the front desk, they are always willing to assist you. The outdoor pool is small (deepest part is 5') but it was just right for us. The pool area is clean with tables, chairs, lounges and one table had an umbrella. It's a small area but very nice with potted plants in the corners, attractive lighting and a nice wrought iron fence. The property out back is not all that well groomed but we did not care, we had such a wonderful time there. It does appear that they are working on it though. The pool is open from 10 am to 10 pm, no lifeguard on duty. A big shoutout to all the members of the Best Western Plus team in Lincoln Illinois, Terry ( does the breakfast some days, great job) Tracy, Stacy, Ash, Diana and Chris all at the front desk, so nice to meet you all and thanks for being such gracious hosts. Didn't get the names of the folks that do the rooms, but thanks for all the kindnesses :) Hoping to return next year. The only thing that could have been better is the signage. The hotel faces Lincoln Parkway but the entrance and address are on 5th Street. The sign at the entrance (after we found it) is very small and easily missed. Also, a suitcase rack would be nice, there was a table that I used but an extra rack would have come in handy. There is a fair in Lincoln in early August, car racing Friday nights during the summer at the fairgrounds (just up the street from this hotel) as well as the farmers' market Saturday mornings and a hot air balloonfest (the largest in the midwest) around the end of August at the airport (again just a short drive from the hotel), weather permitting, a carnival, beer tent and live bands. We went, the balloons could not do the "Glow" at dusk because of lightning but it was all fun just the same. About 1/2 hour east of Lincoln is a little town called "Clinton" ( I know, I know haha). This is where my daughter and son-in- law live. Nice little town with it's own festivals and quaint shops including one called "Quilters' Delight". If you are down that way stop in and say hi to Shirley Monkman, she and her sweet little companion "Benji" would love to see you and here your stories. Sign her book and have a look around the shop. They have an "Apple and Pork Festival" in early September.

« Would stay there again if the need arose. »

I would stay again. We were visiting family so were gone most of the two days. Bed comfy - loved the pillows - would have liked bigger bars of soap, had a drink the first night and they never changed the ice cube tray and it was filled with water the second night. But that was a minor thing.

« Great place to stay and at a great value!! »

We stayed here last year, came back again this year because of our previous great stay and we were not disappointed!! Also, at a great price!! Easy to get to Springfield, Lincoln sites and State Fairground from here. Staff is very friendly and helpful! If you have any issues let them know right away as they want you to have a great experience. Our room, breakfast area and the entire hotel was very clean and comfortable including the outdoor pool area. Towels are also provided in the pool area. Room had a microwave and nice size refrigerator. Hotel was quiet during the night and bed was comfortable. Shout out to the staff at the front desk and breakfast area, Tracy and Terri!! They were so nice and helpful!! It was also great to see Dave in the Aquatics Department again! We were hoping to see him! We had a very hearty and tasty breakfast! Many choices, cereal, fruit, yogurt, great biscuits and gravy, gluten free sausage that tasted great, plain scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs with cut up sausage in it made with fresh cracked eggs that morning, pancakes, juice, coffee and more. My daughter has a severe allergy to all tree nuts, so eating out is always a bit nerve racking for her and sometimes she won't eat if she can't be assured that the ingredients are tree nut free and not cross contaminated. The staff in the breakfast area, name mentioned earlier, was so helpful, kind and understanding when my daughter asked about the ingredients in the pancake mix. She even brought her the box with the ingredients label on it out to her so my daughter could read it and be able to eat worry free. My daughter really appreciated her bringing the ingredients label out to her! She prefers to read the actual labels as the allergy is so severe! She was able to go to the State Fair and present her 4-H Project that morning after having a great breakfast and not have any stress or worry about having a severe allergy reaction! Will definitely stay here again and have referred other friends to stay here!

    « Great Customer Service »

The beginning on this trip started out awful. We checked into a different hotel and had a terrible experience so we checked out. The first hotel was dirty and smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. After leaving we found this Best Western and the moment I stepped into the lobby I was impressed. Clean smell and looked pristine. Then when I got to the desk the lady could not have been nicer or any more helpful. I plan to continue to stay at this hotel for all my trips to Lincoln it is fantastic and lovely.

    « Family vacation »

We were very excited about our trip with our son and his family, heading to Branson MO. We booked our stay with this Best Western because it was a halfway point on our trip. While the hotel was very clean, and the staff very nice, our stay wasn't as pleasant as it could have been due to the strong smell of mold and mildew. Both of our families were so tired by the time we arrived we didn't ask for a different room.

    « Family Visit »

We went to visit family before school started. The Best Western was close to where they live. It was very convenient to restaurants and shopping. The motel is off the main roadway so it was very quiet. The facility was clean and provided all amenities we like when traveling. We will definitely try to stay here when we visit again. Thank you to the staff for keeping the facility clean and fresh.

    « Great stay »

    « Great Stay »

I have stayed at several best westerns on my travels between Wisconsin and Texas, but have never stayed at this hotel before and was extremely pleased with our stay and will definitely stay at this hotel again ! Excellent Price, Very clean, great pool !

« Treat Yourself To The Hidden Gem Here »

In the past I have booked room 105, which has a jacuzzi. I booked a room with a jacuzzi online for this past weekend and assumed I would be in room 105. When I checked in they informed my that I was not in room 105, but rather room 204. I must admit, I was a bit upset, but I thought I would check out the room first. Needless to say I did not return to the desk. As a matter I didn't was to leave the room. It is fantastic!!!!. Enormous with a oversized jacuzzi and spacious king size bed. I swear you could park a small plane in there. What put the weekend in the extremely satisfied category was the price. What I paid for what was a luxury suite, I have paid the same amount at other locations and only received a standard room. Just another reason why I always stay here when in town.

    « Excellent »

I have never stayed at a Best Western. I must say that my stay was comfortable, quiet and very clean. I will definately be looking to book another stay with Best Western whether is business or for a quick get away weekend. Thank You.

    « Felt like home »

Clean, great breakfast, helpfull staff. Much better value than the other main hotel in town that starts with an H. If you are visiting the Gateway Arch and Springfield we were only about an hour away, and had a great value for the price. Also this is a part of rout 66 history, so you get the added value of adding that to your stay. The worlds largest covered wagon with Abe Lincoln is at the fron of the property on rout 66.

    « Fair value »

1st 2 rooms i viewed had broken or non functioning door locks or security bars. 3rd room was ok except fridge did not operate. Exterior security door broken & lock taped over to render it inoperable. Staff pleasant, rooms clean & comfortable & breakfast fine.

    « Can't Beat this Place »

For the money, you cannot do any better. The room was spacious, clean, bed comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. ( Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, numerous bread and cereal options, and make your own pancakes.) Definitely consider going here. Location was close to downtown Lincoln too.

« The hotel is OK but needs repairs. »

The staff was friendly. The room was clean enough. The carpets were pretty badly stained and the furnishings were all worn. One of the exterior doors was in need of repair which was the door closest to our room. There is a roadside attraction right out front (world's largest covered wagon). The hotel was good enough for an overnight stay. I expected more from a "Best Western Plus".

    « Nice Family Stay »

Very friendly staff. Not being from the area, it would have been nice to have brochures in the hotel about places to visit. I was told that brochure needed to be picked up at the visitor center which was across the street. That still worked for us as we were able to stop on our way out of town. I understand it is a budget hotel, however, there were large chunks of wallpaper peeling from around our window. That is really the only complaint, if it is even a complaint! We like staying at Best Western because of the price and the breakfast offered. This allows us to spend more money on our trips! Traveling with kids, we look for a place to stay with a pool. We loved the outdoor pool!! We were also met some other very nice guests at the pool. We would stay at this Best Western again!!

    « Land of Lincoln »

Long July 4th weekend to see Lincoln sites and visit family. The hotel is located close to food and grocery. Very convenient to Springfield and Bloomington/Normal. Not much of a night life in Lincoln, everything seems to close by 9pm. Best part was the bowling alley practically next door to hotel and coupon for free game from the hotel. Outdoor was a bit chilly as the temps dropped while we were there. Most of the umbrellas on the tables were broken but chairs and chaises were nice. The biggest problem with the hotel is the poor lighting in the rooms, esp. the bathroom.

    « Disappointed in a "Plus" »

Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was rather small for a king room, especially the vanity for the bathroom. I suspect it was the location in the building. We did have a microwave and a refrigerator. Fairly large TV but why do so many hotels not pay for an HD signal for their televisions? The air conditioner was working and kept us cool, but it was very loud when starting or stopping. There was no "always on" switch for the fan so it kept waking me up, kicking on and off. (I have got to start checking on this before I book a room.) In this case, the fan wasn't needed to drown out highway noise. It's a quiet area. A little stingy with towels and face cloths, only two of each. My skin got a mild exfoliation from the wash cloth, but the towel did not continue that. Very good water pressure in the shower. The loudest exhaust fan I have ever heard in the toilet/shower/tub area and you could not turn the light on without the fan. The breakfast buffet was okay. I really like the pancake maker. Much better than the messy waffle making area in a lot of hotels. This one is completely self-contained. You just push a button and out pops a fresh pancake. We are not early risers and I don't think you should have to go to breakfast at 6:00 to get fresh hot food. There was an English muffin with an egg and cheese topping that was probably quite good when it was hot. By 8:00 it was crusted over. The biscuit I tapped with a pair of tongs was hard. I would say this is an acceptable hotel, although not what I would expect from a BW "Plus" property. But the rates aren't bad. I guess you get what you pay for? I would stay again, if it was the only hotel available, but it would not be my first choice.

    « Very Friendly & Courteous »

This is hotel is not only very nice, but the hotel staff was extremely friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel! The rooms were nice and the bed was comfortable. Spent a lot of time in the outdoor pool also.

    « "Good Stay" »

Room and hotel was clean, easy to find the different areas. When we arrived our room was not only clean but the air was turned on already to a very nice cool 68 degrees. Which felt wonderful considering the outside temperature was in the upper 90's! The breakfast was good, bacon would be nice, and warm bisquets but all and all wonderful. Both queen size beds seemed to have new mattresses slept wonderfully.

    « Great Hotel »

Very nice room. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not so good. Eggs were dry and no waffle maker only pancakes. Not enough fruit. Sausage was good. Location may be out of the way for some but it worked for us.

    « A very nice stay »

The motel was nice the staff was nice had a good time staying there we stopped because we were doing the Route 66 and the covered wagon is just a short distance from the front door of the motel the room was is real nice and it was a short walk to the covered wagon to take pictures.

    « Mr. »

Hotel was very acceptable and extremely well worth the money. Clean and comfortable and convenient to shopping. Laundry was also available but room it was located in was not air conditioned. This was only problem I encountered.

    « Overnight stop »

We stopped here en route to our vacation destination. The property was clean & the staff was very friendly and helpful. Their pool area is nice & we enjoyed swimming. The breakfast is average & gets the job done. The hotel is a bit off of I-55 but it was a great value and we enjoyed our stay.

« Great place to stay »

Enjoyed value of motel. Staff very friendly. Room above average. Easy 7 min off interstate. Gentlemen checking in before me was looking for a power station for his car. They have one here. Great deal. Nice Legion next door for a drink.

« Outstanding stay well worth mile off interstate »

Awesome hotel - the grounds were beautiful and rooms very clean and made up. They allowed pets and easy parking and safe area next to attractions. Can't beat the price. The outdoor pool was nice and facing sun. I have lived near Lincoln my whole life and never stayed there and wish I would have known sooner. It's barely a mile off interstate but worth value. Polite desk people.

« Stoped while driving through »

I spent one night here while drive late one night. The room was clean - No Bed Bugs The Television had a lot of channels The Shower was - OK The breakfast was good The Staff was friendly The WIFI Internet was fast

    « Very Nice Stay »

Clean room with good bed, flat screen TV with cable stations and friendly staff; breakfast was also good. The room did have an air conditioner/fan in the wall below the window, which I like in the fan mode, since it drowns out any noise but not so loud as to interrupt sleep. Really only complaint was the faucet in the sink, which came out as a very diffuse spray instead of a stream. Motel is located in town a couple miles from the interstate, which we liked. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Travel to family »

Excellent service, Stacy was very helpful an all our needs were met. Will be where we stay every time we pass thru . Breakfast great. We recommend this place if u want a quite peaceful stay without the noise of the fast pace crowd!!! If u r a older couple U will rest an sleep undisturbed

    « Business trip »

Check in was very easy and quick. My room was clean and comfortable. However, the A/C unit was very loud and woke me up several times during the night when it would cycle. i was a little disappointed that the front desk didn't acknowledge this when I brought it up at checkout.

« Very clean and comfortable »

We were just passing through and stayed one night. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and checked us in quickly. The room was very clean and updated. The fan on the heater/air conditioner is one that will go on continuous run, so with that on we did not hear a thing all night. There was also an included hot breakfast with pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal and more. My one complaint was that the conditioner and shower soap dispensers were empty in the shower. Good thing I always bring extras and my husband was able to retrieve them for me. I would definitely stay here again.

« Nice place to stay! »

We were greeted with a Warm and Friendly welcome, clean room, hot breakfast, rate was good, nice area. We travel a lot and our always looking for a nice BW hotel. A place we can count on to stay again and again. Of all BW hotels we stay at this would rate in the top 5, will definitely stay again!

« Stop on the way home »

Everything we needed, Excellent. breakfast with lots of choices, Slept great and found lots of places to eat nearby. Didn't stay to long since we were just passing through and we had stayed there before so we knew what we were getting into. We'll use them again next year.

    « Worst mattresses »

Previous 2 experiences with this hotel were not good. To compensate, we were offered the 'honeymoon suite' on our next trip thru Lincoln, IL. Thinking this room had to be better, we decided to stay one more time. The mattress in this room was so bad that neither of us got any sleep. The floors were cold due to no carpeting. We also had one small bar of soap & one small bottle of hand cream. Not that we use them, but what about those traveling who don't have these items?Several reasons are why we won't be staying at this hotel in the future.

    « Clean »

This was our second stay here and it has been a positive experience both times. The rooms, lobby, breakfast area are clean. Rooms are quiet and the staff helpful. Stacey happened to be working at the desk and did an amazing job answering all our questions, personally fixing our remote, and assisting us with our Hotwire reservation that Hotwire had messed up. Very impressed with her. We will stay here again.

« Clean, Quiet and Good Value »

We found everyone at the Best Western Plus Lincoln Inn to be very friendly, helpful and professional. The room was very clean and had everything we needed such as a microwave, mini fridge and coffee pot. The Wi Fi worked well and there was a good selection of TV channels. Breakfast was the normal selections; the biscuits and gravy were very good. Very good value for the money we paid.

    « Friendly, clean & quiet. »

Staff was extremely friendly and were really interested that I had a good stay. Rooms were clean and hotel was quiet the whole time I was there. I gave the 5 rating for the people. The building is a little older, but kept up rather well.

    « Clean room - attentive staff »

We were very pleased with the room and staff during our recent stay. Great value for the money. Though the bed was a little firm for our taste and the pillows seemed small, we thought the cleanliness of the room and the layout provided more than we expected and would highly recommend the Best Western Plus in Lincoln for anyone spending a night or two in the Lincoln area. There was sporting event for high schoolers going on and some of the parents seemed to be talking loudly while room doors were slamming about 10:30 our second night. A call to the desk and 5 minutes later calm had returned. Well done Stacy!

    « Great stay! »

We were just driving through for a night and Really enjoyed the spacious, clean rooms and the customer service was amazing!! A little off the beaten path, but worth it! The price was comparable to other places- even our Yorkie had a good stay??

    « Clean Rooms »

I have stayed here many times. They have a new breakfast system for their eggs, sausage and pancakes. Much improved. The front reception area was clean and well lighted. The beds area very comfortable. I don't understand their half pillows on some of the beds. You can request a real one if you so desire. The side parking lot should be cleaned. There were several very muddy places with broken glass in it that gets tracked into your vehicle upon departure. All in all a nice place to stay.

« Trip Advisor phone search worked quickly. got us a good deal »

Typical BW PLUS, clean, nice location, courteous helpful clerk. (The BW Plus properties are a notch better than the "plain" BW locations. I always try to stay with Best Western and almost always find the PLUS locations a nice touch.)

    « Just like home! »

The staff at this hotel really went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. From offering me coupons for nearby business's to showing me their floor steamer, they really went the extra mile. They even offered me a free bottle of water and a snack for being a rewards member. The room was clean and quiet.

    « Don't Hesitate to stay here »

A very nice hotel. Service was great, exercise room was good, breakfast was good but the room was small. Location was near downtown but still a short drive. Don't hesitate to stay with this hotel. You can see the Lincoln Covered Wagon out front. The hotel was a little noisy at times but not bad at alll

« Great place to stay. »

We were in town to visit our daughter attending the local college. This is a great place to stay and convenient to all areas of town. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated. The morning breakfast was very good and alot of choices. I would definitely stay again. Only issue was the pool is outdoors and we stayed in November 2015. We ended up being busy on the college campus the no indoor pool was not a problem.

    « Frank DeBartolo Review »

We liked the service and employees of Best Western Plus in Lincoln, Illinois. We will be using the Best Western Plus again. It was an enjoyable experience. We liked the cleanliness of the Motel and the helpfulness of the employees.

    « Very nice »

Very nice place, clean, good service and was conveniently located for our route on trip. The only problem encountered was the luke warm breakfast and the not so good "scrambled eggs" which had the texture of wax and ver tasteless.

    « Nice Place »

The staff is friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Pool was outside other than that we enjoyed our stay. Bowling Ally within walking distance and the hotel has cards in the front for a free game on them.

« My wife was not with me »

Traveling on the cheap through Priceline and got a pretty good value. If my wife were with me, she would do her normal check for a dirty bathroom and pull the sheets back. The bedding was clean but some black stuff in the grout in the shower gave me the creeps. The one huge positive was the employees were extremely friendly. Check in easy. Breakfast the normal cereal, eggs, biscuits and gravy (yuck) and a limited fruit selection. Coffee 24 hours.

« Nice surprise for a small town »

The town isn't very big, but this hotel does an outstanding job of providing a great place to stay. The room had plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner worked well, and the bathroom was spacious. The breakfast area was kind of small, but it was not crowded, so it felt spacious. The food was really good and the staff was extremely helpful.

    « Pleasant stay »

Although this was obviously an older property the room was nice, clean and odor free. The staff that we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Not sure about the odd square pillows on the king size bed but not bad. I would stay there again.

    « Good Hotel »

Hotel is overall a good one for a couple of nights. Continental breakfast was okay. Unfortunately, there are no newspapers (to give you a break from the computer screen). Price was okay. No issues with stay, otherwise.

    « Great value »

We chose this inn because of the pet policy and it was close to friends we were to visit. It was a pleasant surprise to find the quality of the entire experience. When traveling sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. This was a definite winning experience. .

« Very good stopover hotel »

Good hospitality and service, with an excellent breakfast. As a stopover between Chicago and St.Louis this provides good value in a quiet location. The town has plenty of roadside restaurants, a nearby Walmart and much Lincoln history.

    « Honeymoon room »

Quiet corner room at the end of the hall, but lighting was insufficient and there was no place to hang clothing: no closet, no hook except on the back of the bathroom door. We hung a few garments on a curtain rod.

    « More than I expected »

Fairly new place, nice clean large room with a comfortable king bed, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and flat screen. Free WIFI nice breakfast and all at a reasonable price. The gal at the desk is the nicest person. She was very helpful giving directions and hints on where to dine. Great place.

« Out of the way »

It was a bit difficult to find the hotel and required a trip through the town to get there. The town is small so it is not all that difficult. The rooms were nice, service was good and generally the hotel met our expectations. The only bad thing was the availability of good eating establishments. The restaurant we selected (recommended) was so so. Not really great but filling. Maybe our palates are a bit different but for Italian food it was more on the bland side. This was not the hotels problem but be reminded that the availability of eating establishments is limited.

    « awesome service »

great staff very accommodating will go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and head off any problems offering solutions and options. Offered to reserve a table for breakfast for my wheelchair bound mother if we were going to be trying to going early
