Hotel l'Arbre Voyageur, BW Premier Collection, Lille

This hotel is in a very old building on an ugly street with traffic. A facade has been placed on the front exterior to make the hotel appear new in photos. It has a bad old sewer odour in the halls which they mask with fresheners. The rooms are nicely renovated with mid century modern aesthetic. The bathrooms have a sliding glass door that you can see through. This was totally bizarre as you have no privacy to sit on the toilet. If you are a tourist; you will be disappointed. This hotel is a good fit for a solo business traveller. The staff were wonderful, especially Yvan who was so kind to help us when our rental car broke down. His English was excellent and he was a pleasure.

I took my 5yo to Lille for a day/night cultural visit. This hotel was superb, 10 mins from Eurostar and 5mins from Grand Place. Very comfortable, great service, wonderful breakfast. Hard to find fault.

This hotel had the friendliest reception staff, the check in receptionist was especially helpful, giving us a map and marking all the good places to visit. We only stayed one night as a stopover travelling back from the South of France back to London, using the Eurostar from Lille. We had booked the junior suite with the jacuzzi tub - the room was lovely; spacious and well appointed. The toilet is in a separate small room to the bathroom which is quite common in France but is a bit odd as it's like going in a cupboard!! The bath was fantastic, a proper jacuzzi tub which was welcomed by my tired feet after a busy few days of lots of walking. The decor of the hotel is very modern and chic throughout, especially the Jane restaurant. The room was also well decorated although i wasn't personally a fan of the sofa and curtain colour, and a suggestion is that include a foot stool in the room as there is certainly space for this and it's nice to be able to put your feet up and the sofa is not comfy to sit on 'longways' and put your feet up. The bed was large and comfy. A couple of small negatives, we did hear heavy footsteps a number of times late evening when we were trying to relax in the room (they sounded like they came from above but couldn't have done so as we were on the top floor). Also the breakfast selection was underwhelming, we came down at 10am, an hour before it was due to finish serving and a number of items needed replenishing - the bacon, sausages and french toast were all cold, and there were no waffles left when I went back to get one. Also no cold drinks other than freshly squeezed orange juice (although they did have a cool machine for this). So we were dissapointed with this. However, a well located hotel with friendly, helpful staff and nice decor. We would return.

My fiance and I went to Lille for a weekend getaway. The hotel was just beautiful! Modern and chic. Amazing location for shopping & eating. Paris was an hour fast train away and the train station is a 6 min walk. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Eggs, bacon, local treats, and friendly staff all around. Will definitely go back.

Stayed here for one night in a suite with my wife and two year old and we loved it! It started from the moment we checked in with the help of the most friendly receptionist I have spoken to in a long time. This receptionist new what hospitality was! Our room was superb: large, spacious and with big windows from top to ceiling, overlooking Lille. Having a separate bed room from the living room is very convenient when travelling with a toddler. We all slept like roses. Ordered some good food from the bistro, which we could eat in the comfort of our own room. The hotel is located extremely convenient near Vieux-Lille. We parked in the Opera Garage which is less than a hundred meters from the hotel. Upon check in, we were eligible to enter a price draw for a free stay in the suote with spa. I hope we win, so we can come back. if not, this will definitely be my preferred hotel for Lille!

The common areas of the hotel are fine , as are staff, but rooms as small The carpet in the hallways doesn't look especially clean The rooms are small and, again, while I am sure that they are, the wooden floors do not exude an air of cleanliness, something that I think to be important during the times of Covid The sofa in the bedroom was dirty and had a hole in it Sure that this hotel looks great when you put it hasn't worn well

We chose this hotel based on TA reviews. Very good choice! Everything was perfect: very polite & attentive staff, spotless room with vary and high quality amenities (Rituals brand) that we deeply appreciated. Even if still pandemic conditions, they propose a quite rich breakfast to be taken away to the room, with pre-booked timeslots during the check-in, in order to respect the sanitary rules and to avoid the crowdness. Coffee machine is available in the room and the minibar is free of charge. They have a deal with the nearest public underground parking (30m walking distance) that is safe and affordable (~13€/24h). Room service also available: tasty food and efficient service. The only minor point to be improved: we ordered a glass of champagne and it seems that the bottle was opened few hours ago, cause not sparkling and fresh anymore. Highly recommended!

The staff here are very nice and most of them could speak English which was a bonus. Parking was a bit of a nightmare as I couldn't understand the instructions over the phone and there was no map on their website. No idea how the discounted underground parking works as I was told they have a partnership but from what I could see you pay the same rate as anyone else who uses it. However that being said it was only 14.50 euros for 24 hrs in underground secure parking. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the main squares and normally has two restaurants but due to covid only one was open when we arrived however the food was very good and the staff equally helpful. The price was also very reasonable. The room was an executive room and very nice albeit it in differed from the photos but that's booking.com for you. The bed was very firm but this suited me but if you prefer a softer mattress you might not like it. The hotel practices covid safety throughout which was very reassuring.

We were due to return to UK via Dunkirk the following lunchtime, so were pleased to find this hotel, within 60 or so minutes of either Dunkirk or Calais. Easily found in the centre of Lille, there was discounted underground parking within 200m, making it very convenient, and safe for our car. Staff were welcoming and Covid precautions well handled. The room was great, good size, beautifully decorated and modern facilities, and free contents of minibar(soft drinks, water and snacks). The main restaurant was closed when we called, but open for an excellent breakfast (included in our rate). We were given helpful advice, maps and guidance on the very short walk into the unexpected Flemish charm of the city centre. Many fine restaurants and bars, made for a fine and entertaining evening. Highly recommended.

Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The staff is really friendly and smiling. Rooms are comfortable. The minibar is free (no alcohol in the minibar in case you're wondering). We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast. Like other institutions, there was no “buffet” due to the covid situation, but you could refill as much as you want. However the options are very limited. You get to choose between a plain or chocolate croissant, bread, some jam, watermelon, a hot drink and a juice (bottled, not freshly squeezed). There's no salty options. Our stay was still great and I still definitely recommend the hotel!

Stayed here for a couple of nights over Valentine's weekend. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and I could not fault. My only gripe was that I was not able to get a table for dinner at any time during our stay, possibly my fault for not booking in advance, but I would have thought the hotel would have held some dining room tables for guests who were staying in hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel on a recent weekend city trip. It felt like a boutique hotel with attention to detail in the styling of the lobby and room. The staff were exceptionally friendly too.

This is a wonderful hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff, a good restaurant and bar and internet that always works well. It is really well located both to the train and to old-Lille. Variety of room sizes, but every room I have been in was big enough to work in as well as stay.

It's great location in the city, great restaurants close by, nice shops, only thing is the bar hotel hours, you need to go shopping! Breakfast is good but no more cheese after 10am. Coffee and tes are really good

At a short walking distance to the old Lille. Quiet during the night despite being on a main road. Public underground parking nearby. Tasty modern decoration, huge deluxe room, very comfortable bed, glass partition to the bathroom area which looks modern but lets the vapour from the bathroom to enter the bedroom. Very good breakfast and service.

We chose this hotel based on other travellers' comments and we were not disappointed. The location is perfectly situated at the edge of the old Lille city centre, with easy walk to restaurants, shops and nightlife. The receptionist who checked us in was exceptionally warm and friendly (something that we're not used to coming from Paris!!). The hotel is very new, with tasteful and playful decor. The room is clean and the bed super soft and comfortable. There are lots of TV channels (a rarity in Europe esp. in smaller hotels) and free mini bar, which is a nice gesture. A very good spread at breakfast with both hot and cold items and freshly-pressed orange juice. Excellent pastries! The only complaint we had was the blue lighting in the room couldn't be turned off (the switch was probably broken) and we had to call someone at midnight. They didn't manage to fix it but proposed a solution and was very polite and apologetic throughout the exchange. We found this hotel to be great value and we'd definitely recommend it for a weekend stay.

Nothing to add. Wonderful staff, location ( a two minute walk from town), good food. 8 mins from Gare de Lille - head diagonally on exit from station through the old city gate - you can't miss it. turn right.. turn left. Hotel on your right.

The staff were all attentive, pleasant and helpful, without being intrusive. The room was clean, spacious and the two issues raised were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction. Everything very modern. I cant understand why there was no plug for the washbasin and the shower controls took some getting used to.There are two restaurants and breakfast was just about perfect-vast quality choice. The bar was great. A whole page of Armagnacs-unprecedented! Just outside the centre, but well located for everything.Extremely good stay Thank you to all the team.

This is a really beautiful, centrally located hotel. Breakfast was full of choice, with delicious pastries from the in house bakery shop. The bar is comfortable, with a free drink on offer if you're staying more than two nights and forego housekeeping. Our only issue was that the parking available to book through the hotel in advance is unreserved and was full when we arrived which was a nuisance. Our fault for being in Lille on the first Saturday of the Christmas market! We had a great stay, and would recommend.

Stayed for just one night and arrived off an early Eurostar train, reception were super friendly and said we have a perfect room for you and you can access it now. Great Service. The hotel it's self is an easy 10 minute walk from the international station and further couple of minute walk into Lille Old town. The reception is funky and cool, beautiful restaurant and bar. Our room was off the garden, large stylish and quiet. Big very comfy bed, big clean shower room with quality Occitaine and Ritual toiletries. Free mini bar with soft drinks and snacks. Plenty of hanging space, safe, air con and satellite TV. Lille itself has a great array of shops, restaurants and bars. The Christmas Market is tiny and disappointing all seen and done in 10 minutes flat!!! If you come to Lille stay at the beautiful, amazing value hotel.

We stayed here for one night during a weekend visit. We travelled via Eurostar from London and literally walked off the train and about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. The outside of the hotel building is not very attractive but everything about the interior is delightful - similar to a boutique hotel with beautiful styling. We liked having the loo in a separate room within our hotel room - just a small point but indicative of good design. The reception staff were delightful and very comfortable speaking to us in English (we were of course apologetic for not speaking French). We loved our visit to Lille - the Old Town is gorgeous and we enjoyed a student-lead walking tour to get our bearings and later visited Les palais des Beaux Arts and LaM (if you display your Eurostar ticket entry is a two for one deal at both). Highly recommend this hotel - it is perfectly situated on the edge of the Old Town and is a delight.

I stayed here for 11 days during a business trip... great location, great staff, very clean, excellent breakfast offering. I stayed 11 days here. Check in was super easy, they even sent an email (or two) asking about my preferences for my stay so they could prepare ahead of time. I kept forgetting to answer, but it didn't matter. Staff was really nice when I arrived, and check in was really easy. My room was very clean, and remained so every day of my trip. Heat/AC worked well. Cleaning staff did a very good job, and for a 3 year old hotel, it was in great condition. If you skip having your room cleaned, they stil make your bed and will leave you a drink chip to use at the bar - good for a free drink. Really awesome. Location was great. About a 10 minute walk to the Grand Place, and perhaps the same or maybe a bit more to get to Rue de Gent with lots of great places to eat. If you don't feel like the walk, you can choose from two restaurants in the hotel... a mid priced one, and a more snazzy one with higher priced meals. I never went to either, but the menu for both looked really good. I did take the breakfast most days... it had a good range of breakfast items, breads, cheeses, juices, etc. Coffe cups they provide at the tables are a bit large if you aren't american, but they do. Overall, a very good stay. Don't hesitate to get a room and enjoy Lille!

We really enjoyed staying at the Hotel L'Arbre Voyager. It was clean, looked new, and the restaurant was very good. The staff was professional and friendly and we were able to get advice on what to see and how to get there.

Midway between the Lille Europe Eurostar station and the centre of the old city and within easy walking distance of both. This is a modern hotel with very comfortable and well equipped rooms. My only criticism would be that the buffet breakfast at 18 euros is expensive. There is an alternative however as there are coffee machines in the room and a patisserie at the front of the hotel with excellent croissants and pain au chocolat!

This is a very nice boutique hotel. Inspiring and chique interior, very friendly service, very good restaurant, nearby a huge parking. We had a huge walk-in shower. When I will visit Lille again, I will again choose this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights bed and breakfast and had an executive room. We are seasoned travellers particularly for city/town breaks so have become quite particular over the years to find great [places to stay, this is one of them. The room was smart and clean (basic decoration), the staff are great and very friendly and helpful, the style is modern but cosy in the most part. Only downside we found was the breakfast was a little limited and not the best quality, some of the food near the end of service had clearly been out a while and a little dry and the coffee comes from a machine, not terrible but not the best breakfast by a long way. Also (and this is personal taste) the toilet is a separate room to the bathroom and it has no hand basin, I really do not like that. Great location for the eurostar and great location for the city centre. Recommended overall.

This hotel by far exceeded my expectations; from the beautiful decor and ambiance to the exceptionally helpful staff who spoke perfect English. The room was very spacious for three of us and immaculate. The cocktails were delicious and free because we declined housekeeping yet still they tidied up and made our beds! The hotel is set in an ideal location only a stone's throw from everything, you'd really be very hard pressed to find anything better.

Very good hotel. Receptionist very helpful and welcoming. Room perfect. Location ideal for both night life and Eurostar terminal. breakfast was poor. Waitresses stand at back of room folding napkins rather than helping guests. We were just given a table and were offered no help in what to do. We had to work out what to do for ourselves. There were no large spoons for cereal, the bread and fruit juices ran out. It was no better on the second night. Whilst the hotel itself is great, the breakfast lets it down badly.

This Hotel is close to the old centre of Lille. Parking on the street is difficult as there are very few places, so you will probably need to pay around 13 Euros a day for the underground car park which is very close. The young woman on reception was very helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked, but she recommended a few local restaurants and the one that we went to was very good. The room was compact but very comfortable, with an unusual sliding glass partition, which you can use to separate the bathroom from the bed. The contents of the mini bar (non alcoholic), are free, which is a nice extra. I would happily stay there again.

Stayed for a few nights with our three young children. Super helpful check in staff. Tall young Guy was great suggested lots of places to go and places to eat. Helped me find where to park. He was great! Excellent service! The hotel was lovely. Room super clean and smart. Free mini bar too. The parking is just next door which is underground and secure but we did pay extra for it which is fine. We added breakfast which was very nice in the “Jane” The location is ideal within walking distance of the old and new town, train station, parks and zoo. Great initiative where you get free drinks tokens for options out of a full room clean. They just changed the bins, towels and had a little tidy. We didn't eat at the restaurant onsite as it didn't have any kids options but it looked very nice and plenty of great options nearby. Would highly recommend staying here and we will be back again!

Lille is a city I love. I often go there, as I only live at 35 km, be it at the Belgian side of the border. I also guide in Lille. Some weeks ago, I decided at the last to spend the night in Lille. I selected L'arbre Voyageur, because of it's mysterious name : the travelling tree. The ladies at the desk, especially Paloma, helped me out splendidly. I slept very well and had a rich and delightful breakfast. The bar is nice too, although one bartender was too assertive. But in the whole : I was so happy I wil surely return.

This is a lovely hotel, clean, stylish, great staff, very convenient location, very close to underground car park. They run a great eco friendly deal, if you "go green", I.e. don't require new towels and sheets and dont take anything from the free mini bar, you get a free drink at the bar for each night you comply

Superb hotel in an excellent location just a few mins walk from the old town and train stations. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and gave us some good tips on where to visit. The kids loved it and the staff were very accommodating of them. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated and rooms of a good size and very comfortable, we only stayed 1 night but could have easily stayed longer. Lovely little courtyard where you can grab a drink before or after dinner (delicious wine). We didn't eat in the hotel, only the breakfast which is my only negative, we arrived just after 9 and there were pretty much scraps left, not replenished and the coffee was from a machine that tasted like dishwater - this I think could certainly be improved. Would stay again without hesitation.

There are hotels and then there are hotels with charm. This hotel is filled with charm and passion in design and service and atmosphere. This boutique hotel now under the BW Premier range is probably rightly placed with a great value for money when opting for a branded segment. The area in which the hotel may be located (a main street) and its surrounding streets may "appear" slightly shabby to those unaccustomed to the old-world charm of France, it is entirely safe and has its own charm and signature. It is a 5 min walking distance from Lille Flandres station and the historic city centre behind the hotel is also 5 mins walk away. Inside the hotel, you will be received by young smiling staff who are eager to help and ensure that you have a comfortable stay. The staff were multi-lingual. The hotel has its own bakery!!! A close-to-michelin-star in-house restaurant that is always crowded (lunch or dinner) and a separate comfort-food diner. Only be aware that food is not served 24/7 but only during reasonable food hours - breakfast, lunch and dinner time. Finally you get tastefully decorated and spacious rooms. Bathrooms and toilets are in French style - that is away from each other. My husband and I spent 5 nights in this charming modern hotel that is close to the Lille Flandres Station and the old part of the city. The staff speak excellent English and went out of their way to help, answer questions, provide directions and restaurant suggestions. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable king bed and spotless bathroom [with L'Occcitane toiletries]. It was near the elevator, but we never heard a sound. We did not have the hotel breakfast since there are plenty of places close by to get coffee, croissants, etc. We did have drinks in the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. The location and quality of the experience make it a great place to stay.

The hotel is well presented and our room at least was clean spacious and well detailed. It's location is interesting close but not too close to the train station and close but probably not quite close enough to the old part of town. If you book stern clear of room 17 it's really lovely but the design means the bathroom above is very noisy.

The hotel is only 10 mins walk from the main station which is very handy. We stayed here 2 nights for a mini break. Very polite and helpful reception staff. The room was small but very clean with tea/ coffee facilities, complimentary mini bar with soft drinks and packet of crisps and sweet snack for guests to use which was very handy. Bathroom is very nice with large shower. Location of the hotel is brilliant. The only criticism I Have is about their breakfast for the guests, which is not good at all for vegetarians. Not much variety of cereals. No chopped fresh fruit ( only tinned fruit), bread without eggs is limited if you are late then that's it just have cereal and tea. Orange juice is lovely and freshly squeezed which I loved. There were tiny bowls of mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans but no hot dishes like pan cakes or waffles or hash browns for vegetarians. I don't know why making things without eggs is so much of a Hassle for french hotels. I would not recommend this hotel for vegetarians unless they improve on their variety.

This hotel is a gem. The rooms may be tiny but service, cleanliness and location make up for it. We were in room 21 just off the elevator and we thought it would be a problem but we never heard a sound. Room was very small but bathroom - and shower especially- were great. Shower had windows that opened to let out steam but hotel also has air conditioning so any heat is not a problem. We had dinner in the bistro and food was excellent including the double patty burger which just about everyone in the place seemed to be ordering. Breakfast in Jane was excellent. Maybe one of the best continentals I have ever seen. They had everything and more and it was fresh and hot. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There is a parking garage right down the street from the hotel. I didn't ask if they had an arrangement with them but for the one night parking was 14.50 euros. The only issue is we didn't see an elevator and had to carry our bags up and down. Otherwise this is a great place stay while in Lille.

We stayed for a week so that we could visit some towns / attractions in Northern France. I have to give them a 5 star rating because of their attention to detail, their going out of their way to help, their kindness to us helping to book transport. They have a young staff but extremely professional.

I can't recall the last time i stayed at a Best Western. Boy did this hotel change my mind on the hotel brand or at least the premier collection. Stylish, trendy and cute touches abound. A cactus pillow on my bed! Decent sized european room. Comfy bed. Coffee maker, teas, and free drinks (non-alcoholic) and snacks in mini bar. L'Occitane bath products. The shower is glass and open to the room so something to be aware of depending on who you are traveling with. Closet with decent storage, small desk and overall efficient design for a stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. Hotel is within easy walking distance from train stations as well as to all of the major sites in Lille. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

This very conveniently-located hotel is a ten-minute walk from Lille Europe and Lille Flandres train stations, and near all of Lille's charming old streets. Our room was plain in design – minimalist, with colored walls – and well-designed for unpacking and spreading out. We had two closets, both filled with shelving, and another set of shelves as well. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern, though the brown (rather than white) towels were odd. There was a small fridge containing bottled water, canned soft drinks, and snacks which we were told to help ourselves to. We overlooked the back of the property and were near the elevator, but it was very quiet, and we appreciated the seclusion. Downstairs, one side of the lively lobby features a small sandwich-type restaurant with a bar, and the other side features a larger and stylish restaurant, The Jane, which is where guests have breakfast. The buffet is extensive and delicious, with a large variety of breads and pastries as well as fruit and a generous array of hot cooked foods including scrambled eggs and English breakfast staples such as bacon, mushrooms, and baked beans. The pain perdu, or French toast, was fabulous with the real maple syrup available. We stayed for three nights, and that breakfast was worth jumping out of bread for! The cappuccino is the best we've ever had. The staff the second day was not attentive, so there were no glasses available for juice or water and some of the offerings ran out, but mostly, everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

At last a hotel really trying to cut it's carbon footprint. We stayed here 2 nights and were offered the option of half service of the room which meant the maid would make the bed and empty the bins only. In return we had 2 drink tokens for use in the bar. We were expecting a limit of €5/6 but it was actually €15 so this was certainly a good deal. The hotel itself was really well appointed the rooms being well decorated and modern. The mini bar is complimentary and was well stocked with non alcoholic drinks and snacks. The staff were very polite, informative and helpful. The receptionist even took you through to the lift to explain how to use it. If there was one down side I would say it was the lack of lifts as there was only one but this did not spoil our stay. Although we did not eat in the hotel both the cafe and restaurant were full and the menu looked good. As the name suggests wood played a big part of the hotel having wooden floors, platter in the bathroom for toiletries and quirky tables. Obviously a lot thought of has gone into the design and ethos of the hotel. I liked Lille and would certainly stay here again although next time I will contact the hotel direct as upgrades are available.

The hotel is just 10-minute walk away from the Lille Europe Station and even closer from the Lille Flandres station. You can discover all the old city of Lille and numerous museums / restaurants / bars around the hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The room was clean and pleasant. The mini bar is free, as well as coffee and tea in the room. I do warmly recommend this hotel.

All hotels have reception but few have anything as good as delightful Estelle, who greeted us warmly, gave us all the information we needed (with a warm smile) and also upgraded us. Seldom do you have such a great introduction to a hotel. Our room was large and very clean. We loved the solid (not glass) door to the bathroom and the separate toilet with another solid door. What a great change from all those hotels with no privacy. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the station and the centre ville. The only negative was the attitude of the staff at breakfast - unfriendly and aloof. They need to smarten up their act and match the service in the rest of the hotel. Despite the breakfast staff we would happily return.

We stayed one night. Very clean, modern, well appointed room. Excellent location, a less than 5 minute walk from Gare de Lille Flandres, and close to everything. Staff was friendly, spoke English, and made for a very pleasant stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (SAT-MON) with two couples. Booked directly via the hotel website and chosen on the basis of the Tripadvisor score and location which is very close to the city center. Booking was easy and when we checked the special request for one of the rooms was taken care of. Checking in was quick and easy. Staff was very friendly and swift. Without asking, the lady also pointed out the places to see and marked them on the map. Compliments for that. Parking is close by, very busy on the Saturday and almost vacant on Sunday. As the hotel indicates, not more than 50 meters from the hotel. The rooms (53 and 54 in our case) were clean and easily accessible, even for one us us with a mobility problem. These particular rooms (at the back of the building) were not too spacious. Okay for a short stay as we had, otherwise a bit cramped. Bathroom was okay, water in the showers a bit luke-warm. Perhaps a good idea (if not already available) is to have some rooms adapted for less mobile people (bars in shower, special toilet etc). Good idea was the option for 'green' use with some credits in return for the bar (EUR 15,00 for 2 nights). Beds were good, bit too short for me (195 cms tall). Also, would be good to have another chair in the room. For the rest, rooms are nice and tidy. We had breakfast twice at the hotel for practical reasons, not dead-cheap at EUR 18,00 pp (adults) but choice is wide, quality high and quantity plentiful. Only thing that did not work is the egg-boiler, doesn't seem to work well (not for me anyway). Also dinner once in the Burger Bar and there prices were decent and quality good. Of course limited choice but you'd expect that for a Burger place. Restaurant was fully packed on Saturday evening (and closed on Sunday), I expect same thing there but didn't use it. Check-out, also efficient with a clear invoice. I would recommend this hotel for all travellers for a city trip to Lille.

Booked last minute as part of an impromptu road trip across France. Really impressed with this hotel, it was in a great location, the staff were excellent, probably one of the most detailed check-ins I've ever experienced, he went through a map of Lille and told us loads of places to go. The room was great, comfy bed and one of the largest showers ever! Definitely recommend

The hotel is very well situated and central. All the hotel staff are very pleasant, helpful and professional in their work. All spoke English very well too. The hotel itself is very modern, clean and comfortable. It offers a fantastic choice of food and drink in its hotel restaurant. Breakfast buffet has a decent choice / variety to suit all requirements and is fresh. The only thing I would improve at Breakfast would for them to serve freshly made coffee rather than from a machine. The room is very comfortable and most of the the bed was perfect. Very comfortable for a good rest after being on your feet all day. I would surely recommend this hotel and look forward to going back once again. Thank you to all the team.

Modern and despite being part of an international chain, this has the air of a boutique hotel. The rooms are clean and well designed and the shower room very high spec. Best of all, the charming and helpful staff did all they could to make our stay comfortable and trouble free.

We had a great weekend staying in the Hotel L'Arbre Voygeur in Lille. The hotel is modern with individual, interesting, unique with quirky decorations. Rooms are a good size with comfortable beds, rain showers, pod coffee machines and free mini bar with soft drinks an snacks. The hotel location is only minutes from the old town, the center of Lille and 15 minutes walk from the station . We didn't have breakfast in the hotel although it looked very good, but we did have a very enjoyable evening meal. The food in the main restaurant is exceptional and they also have another restaurant serving burgers etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly so no problem with language.

Excellent location. Very, very friendly staff. Big, spotless clean, modern rooms with all the needed extras. Clearly way above what you may expect for the price, specially in France. Management and staff are doing a great job running this hotel!

I really liked this hotel in Lille. It had some fun décor, I think that I am inspired to wallpaper a room in my house with some funky print. The room was fine- we were 4 people to a room and that was a little bit crowded, because one bed was a pull out couch and not the most comfortable. Everything looks new and clean. Breakfast was great- unlimited fresh squeezed orange juice. When juice goes in NY for $8 a half gallon, I really appreciate this. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

A friend and I stayed at this hotel last week for a mini break in Lille and we would highly recommend it. The staff at the reception desk were extremely helpful giving us maps and information. The inner courtyard was a great place for a relaxing drink after a days sightseeing. The rooms are very light and modern - and quiet. The location is excellent - close to the station and only minutes from the old town, restaurants etc. The breakfast is very good and has a wide range of offerings. I look forward to returning again!

i stayed there on my way back from the Netherlands to Paris for one night with my family to rest only but i was so amazed with the Hotel decor and the renovation was still going on , i booked two suites and both were fabulous and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is in busy street which is hard to get close to the front door to get the luggage but the parking is very close by, i think the city and hotel worth visiting again but with more time in hand. loved the place totally recommend it.

Having never been to Lille before we booked this place based on its reviews and location, Its a great hotel everything was perfect for us, clean and close to all the things we wanted to do whilst in Lille. There was a complementary bottle of fizz and a free mini bar, also if you wish the hotel has a green policy where if you don't have your room serviced you can take advantage of a free drink in the bar via a token system. All in all a perfect 3 night stay.

My daughter and I stayed her last weekend. We had a great time. The hotel is fresh and clean, the rooms were well designed and the beds very comfortable. There are two restaurants, and a bar area and a lovely courtyard garden. We had dinner booth nights in the Restaurant Jane. The food was superb, France at it's best. A good choice of dishes. The staff were friendly, helpful and charming. We couldn't fault anything. The hotel is also close to the city centre and the stations.

I selected this hotel for my colleague and I for our business trip due to the great reviews. It is a short eight minute walk from the train station. We were warmly welcome on a cold and raining Sunday evening. Check in was easy. Our rooms were beautifully decorated with crisp white bedding. The bed was so comfortable. I particularly liked the green cactus cushion. The tv had lots of European channels, if you wanted to keep up to date with the news. The mini bar idea is brilliant, free soft drinks and snacks. Why don't other hotels do this? The shower had a massive shower head with lovely L'Occitane toiletries. The Jane restaurant was closed unfortunately so we ate in the other restaurant. A good selection of food was available for all dietary requirements. A good selection of gin too. Staff again extremely friendly and helpful. We had breakfast the next day which was plentifully, with a good choice of fruit. I love the decor of this hotel and the quirkiness of it. Despite it being on a busy main road it was extremely quiet inside. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I will certainly return again but with my husband next time and during the summer.

Pristine, stylish hotel in a great location! Just round the corner from the old town, you are walking distance from most sights. Our welcome and check out from Estelle was really friendly and efficient. Despite being on a fairly big road, we didn't hear the traffic at all. The room was lovely and the free mini bar with soft drinks and snacks was really appreciated. The soaps and products in the bathroom were also top quality. Check out the weird pink lights in the rooms too. Overall, I would highly recommend!

This hotel has a great walking location between the train stations and old Lille. The service is excellent, and the decor has a lot of neat detail to it. The restaurant Jane has very good food (one of the highest rated in Lille) and the great perk about staying is that if you are staying more than two days and pass on getting your linens replaced, you are rewarded with a free drink token at the Jane bar. The wine is excellent, the cocktails are very well made. Breakfast is nothing to write home about and I wish there was a fitness center-- but all in all, I would stay here again.

If you like a modern hotel with a comfortable bed and a well-equipped bathroom, where everything is of high quality and works well, this is the place for you. The staff are extremely helpful, the breakfast offers a range of choices and is good quality. We ate at the burger restaurant ‘La Reine' one evening and that was excellent too. We chose this hotel because of the previous great reviews and are happy to say we endorse the other reviewers' ratings 100%.

Great location and easy walk from either the Interior or national stations as well as to the main sights and shops in the old town The staff were all helpful and friendly and the place is immaculate with some stylish touches in the decor including the biggest Size book of fabulous monochrome photos in the lobby If you stay for more than 2 nights you can opt to not restock your free mini bar (no alcoholic drinks) and get a token to swop in their bar for any drink at all. Amazing.

A good hotel and centrally located between the town and station and only a 10 min max walk to the Eurostar. so well worth a stay. The hotel staff are pleasant and as our rooms weren't ready we were provided with a free drink whilst we wait. There is a bar inside and also an open courtyard in the centre of the hotel. The rooms were clean and tidy and had all we needed for a 2 nights stay - we stayed on a room only basis and had breakfast at the hotel on the first morning. The breakfast is quite limited in choice and is a buffet style - you can ask for gas to be cooked which they will do but if you ask just before the service is due to end they will refuse so make sure you order your eggs on arrival.

Just enjoyed a weekend here.A short walk into the heart of Lille but far enough away not to be disturbed.Room was nice enough with free WiFi if needed.Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional.If we ever stayed in Lille again, we would stay here. The only thing I wouldn't do is go green for the free drink as the bar is in the restaurant so not the best place to enjoy your cocktail.

Beautiful hotel excellent helpful receptionist Rémi we arrived early not expecting to have our room Rémi was so helpful and let us have the key early. They listened to my request for a high floor quiet room and we were happy no noise and top floor. Room was very comfy with free mini bar of soft drinks and snacks. The only slight problem was we went out Sunday arrived back at 3pm to room service not carried out but the maid replenished our toilet roll and gave us tokens for two free drinks. We didn't take petit déjeuner it was very pricey. We will return next time in Lille.

This is a very central hotel, with parking (very important to my husband) and fantastic hospitality. What a lovely welcome we had! The guy who greeted us gave lots of good information about sights and places of interest and shared his enthusiasm for the city. The decor is quirky and fun. We loved the monkeys on the wallpaper in the corridor. Very comfortable bed, great location and nice wine recommendations in the bar. I would definitely recommend it as a good place to stay.

Located in the very center of Old Lille, great staff with very nice (relatively small but well appointed) bedrooms. Very good restaurants, totally different with a gourmet mixed with a burger restaurant. Divine breakfast and your stay is complete dream :)

Stayed at the hotel weekend of Amistice as was travelling to Arras to pay respect. What a lovely hotel, staff lovely. Food and drink superb. The rooms were excellent and very comfortable too. Would 100% return if in the area.

We just had an all too brief one night stay here - efficient and friendly and helpful check in by Florentin, comfortable and clean room, central for new and old towns and train stations - highly recommended and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Paid around €14 extra p.p. for the superior room and it was worth it. Massive bed, excellent coffee machine and great staff. Excellently located between the new town and the old, where the best eating places are.

We enjoyed our stay. It is a very nice new and spotless hotel. Service was outstanding. On check in, we were provided great suggestions for touring Lille. The breakfast was very good with delicious gluten free bread on request.

This hotel scores consistently high on TA and i can see why. My party of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay over two nights. Remi, the front desk manager, started us off very well with his friendly approach and some tips on getting around Lille. Remi, along with all the other members of staff we encountered, was friendly, efficient and courteous. We used both restaurants and had good meals and service in both. Breakfasts were good, there's always a concern for us Brits that "continental" means a crossaint and not much more, but there was plenty on offer. The hotel is within walking distance of the station and most parts that would be on a tourist's list of things to see. My only negative was that we requested a twin executive room, but the second bed was supplied by converting the sofa. Not as comfortable as a "real" bed and the room wasn't large enough to accommodate 2 big beds. Other than that a great time was had by all.

Well situated near the center of the city. Once you have parked the car no need to use it again, and if you come with the train it is in walking distance from the station. It's modern, clean, and well conceived ! The personnel is very attentionate and helpful in all respects ! Breakfast is a buffet and good choice and quality !

centrally located and only a 5 minute walk from the trainstation Flandres Reception was friendly welcoming non choreographed. check in was smooth . room was open spacious , nice decor . amenities were all what you need for an over night stay . . Bed was amazing .!! . Breakfast buffet had a small selection but paid attention to detail and quality . this will be my go to hotel during my next business trip to Lille

I was very happy with my two-day stay here. Everything in the room worked. The town center as well as the train station were only 7-8 minutes walk away. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay in Lille.

Booked 2 nights on our way back to the UK by car. Secure nearby underground car park with discount If reserved through the hotel. Area didn't look great when we arrived but actually the old centre is very close just a short walk. We received a very warm welcome from the reception staff and our room was very spacious facing onto the inner courtyard so was quite quiet which is lucky as the street has some major roadworks going on in front of the hotel which start at 7am. We opted for the green option not to have our room cleaned so received 2 bar tokens, we didn't expect to be able to have any expensive drinks but were surprised when we were allowed to order a gin and tonic and wine free of charge. Great bathroom and air con. Burger restaurant was ok but reasonable , the other hotel restaurant is very expensive but looked good we didn't try it. Efficient check in and out. Recommended

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is a short walk from the Eurostar train station, the town square and Rue de Gand. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Good hairdryer in the bathroom. If you opt to go green which means no towel or bed linen changed the housekeeping staff leave a token for a free drink at the hotel bar. The reception staff were very good. A special mention for Estelle who helped us as we had booked an extra room in error. Her customer service was above and beyond expectations.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is situated in a very good area - within walking distance from the station and the old town. The bakery on the premises was very useful. Highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 days, having chosen Lille because of the Eurostar stop and it being relatively off the beaten tourist path. What a fabulous base it was. The rooms are very comfortable - cool (thankfully given the 30+ temperatures over the weekend), modern, comfortable and quiet. This is all I want in a hotel room. We opted for the green choice and received 2 drinks tokens in lieu of them not changing the room, although they did make the bed each morning. Very happy with our choice and we actually cashed the drinks in on the last day when we sat and relaxed in their delightful courtyard post-checkout awaiting the time to head off to the train. We were warmly welcomed at reception (as we were throughout Lille - what a friendly city this is) and given a very refreshing citrus water drink on check-in. We arrived early but the room was available, so dropped bags off, and headed for town. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Eurostar station and about 5 minutes from the main square and the old town - a perfect location for exploring the city. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the street, and whilst I'm a bit sensitive to noise in hotel rooms, I found this to be no problem at all - a bit of dull street noise during the day but it's very quiet in the evening. We ate out for all meals except breakfast on one day, which was perfectly delicious with plenty of options and good big coffee/tea cups for a proper brew in the morning! The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. I stay in a lot of hotels with my job, and this one is as good as I have experienced. I came away with the impression that this is a well run place staffed by well trained people and designed to meet the well understood needs of their customers. Special mention for the air-con system here which is whisper quiet and very effective. Top marks!

We had the best stay at this hotel. It has everything you need and staff are so lovely and friendly and helpful The rooms are very clean, decorated to a high standard and the contents of the fridge are free. Movies are free also

We had a great stay on n this trendy hotel situated 300m from the historic centre. Very friendly reception, tastefully decorated large rooms. Free minibar items and quality bathroom amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

Arriving jet-lagged, I was greeted by friendly staff member who was so helpful in having me settle into the hotel. I've checked into many hotels but was really impressed with the service and friendliness. In fact, all the staff members from check-in to check-out were friendly and helpful. Five stars for them! The room was larger than expected and it had a comfortable bed as well as a large, clean bathroom. It was a quiet room that overlooked the outdoor cafe area. Five stars! The location was an easy walk from the Eurostar train and just as easy to walk to the old town. I would definitely stay here again and tell my friends to as well! Well done!

We enjoyed this hotel. It is stylish clean and comfortable, close to the old town with convenient parking (for a fee). The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were some nice touches including complementary mini bar and option to trade room makeup for a drink in the bar. Breakdast was good and plentiful.

This is a charming small boutique hotel with a great restaurant. The staff are friendly. Higher standard than a usual Westin. My 3rd time, No welcome or recognition. I asked to see the GM, nowhere to be seen and cannot be located-odd-the hotel with the invisible GM! It has a nice feel to it. Nicely designed, rooms efficient and clean, lots of wood around which makes it comfortable and warm. Recommend it for a short stay in Lille.

Very nice and comfortable rooms and facilities. Bed was super comfortable and bathroom and shower amazing and spotless clean. The service however lets them down especially at breakfast. The room is very messy, tables undone with all that's left from other customers not cleared, service is incredibly slow and seems scared of talking to customers offering to proper machine made coffees and teas. Breakfast is very much French, all bread based, not much choice as you would except from an international hotel if you don't like pastries. Also they have very poor knowledge of allergies and food intolerances. I had advised them that I required something gluten free as coeliac and and on day one the waiter got out a loaf of bread and put it together with all the other breads on a tray full of crumbles. Obviously I have not eaten it because it was completely contaminated and dangerous for me and I was fine but they should receive some proper training not to poison some other customers with allergies.

We(4 ladies) go to Lille every year but only for a day trip. However, this year we decided to stay for one night. We stayed at this wonderful Hotel. Location Great. Short walk from the old city and very close to restaurants and shops. Reception We arrive too early and left our bags at Reception. We returned later to the Hotel and I must say check in was so smooth. Front staff at the reception was so nice, helpful. and approachable. Room We had the family room with connecting door. The room were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and very modern. Hand and rain shower great. good flow of water and hot. Resturant We had dinner at the burger restaurant. I must say that the burgers we had were very nice and tasty. The cocktails were great too. I would highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed

My stay at Hotel l'Arbre Voyageur was outstanding. I arrived in Lille by the airport bus and it was an easy walk to the hotel (less than ten minutes). I received a friendly greeting and a refreshing drink of infused water, which was very welcome on a hot day. My room was lovely: exceptionally clean, with sleek, modern furniture, comfortable bed with crisp linens, fluffy bath towels, L'Occitane toiletries, great shower, and excellent (and quiet) air conditioning. The complimentary minibar was a treat as it was very hot in Lille during my stay, so I enjoyed the snacks and the bottled water (sparkling and still). There also was apple juice and Coca-Cola. I did not try the in-room coffee machine but the espresso choices were intriguing, and I did use the small kettle for tea. The hotel breakfast, served in the bright and beautiful "Ma Reine" restaurant, was delicious, with a multitude of hot and cold dishes, pastries, juices, fruit, bread and cheese. The café au lait was wonderful. The hotel also was perfectly located for exploring Lille, as I was able to walk everywhere, from the Old Town to the Fine Arts Museum and everywhere in between. The staff also were very kind. Overall, it was an excellent stay and if I ever find myself in Lille again I would not hesitate to return. (By the way, I recommend the airport shuttle as it stops at the very central Euralille mall and is 10 euros for a return trip.)

This hotel is good for visiting the city. Fair price, nice rooms and friendly staff. Also take a look at the bar, they have a great variety of wines and the bar has a nice atmosphere. The only downside Is the breakfast. The tables are placed very very close to each other, there is hardly any room to walk. The staff was also very stressed out, not the best way to start the day. My recommendation is: skip breakfast here

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Location is within a short walk from the old city. Close to restaurants, shops etc. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were small but we moder, clean and comfortable. Burger restaurant was fine for a quick bite. Wanted to try the other restaurant but it was closed on our last night. Courtyard is a nice place to have a drink after a day of touring.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and the staff are so helpful. Remy was lovely. Just spent the weekend here and we're so pleased with our choice. The artwork and statuettes are fascinating. Visited Lille in early May. The hotel is in a good location near to the old town. The staff are really welcoming and the rooms attractive and very clean. We enjoyed the stay and would like to return. The breakfast was excellent and varied much better than some other hotels in France. Really liked drinking cocktails in their courtyard area.

My wife and I stayed for two nights with six other friends at the hotel. The hotel is located midway between the Eurolille Station and the centre of town and thus it was easy to walk to the hotel from the station with our luggage and then walk into the centre of town. The hotel has a feeling and smell of newness to it particularly in the corridors from the lift to the bedrooms. Very comfortable bed and excellent shower and toilet which was higher than most and thus appreciated by our ageing bodies. Granted we could have done with more hanging space in the wardrobe for our clothes but two friends did have a room with more hanging space plus a bath and shower. There are two restaurants, one of which provides a very adequate breakfast. This becomes a burger restaurant in the evening whilst the second restaurant is a gourmet establishment. On our final day before departure my wife and I wanted to have a salad in the breakfast restaurant but it was already full at 12:30 so we went into the gourmet restaurant and each of us ordered a starter with a plate of cheese to share afterwards. Nevertheless we were both given a complimentary amuse gel plus a small glass of freshly chopped fruit after the cheese and were well pleased. Staff at reception were very friendly and we considered this to be an excellent stay at this wonderful hotel. Highly recommend.

Overall it's a very nice hotel with a high standard of design and level of service. A pity that the suites are on boulevard Carnot which is a bit noisy and the space for breakfast is insufficient when the hotel is full!

First Impression We thought the hotel was in the old city but it wasn't. It's not a bad thing especially when everything is still about 5min walk and it's slightly quieter. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we got a really warm welcome. The rooms are on the small side but it was bright and clean Parting Impression It was a good stay overall, no drama at all and parking was really easy although you have to pay for it. Breakfast was good and it was nice to have a courtyard area on a sunny day. Being close to the historic centre also means you are able to come back a rest before heading out again. The hotel is definitely on the nicer part of the historic centre, avoiding the messier parts closer to the train station.

We were lucky to stumble upon the L'abre voyageur as a central place to come and go from for the Paris Roubaix bike race. The hotel is also within walking distance of everything in Lille. Our room was beautiful, quiet and large. The staff were incredible - at your service 24/7 and really friendly. The food, wine and atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. As was the restaurant staff, in particular, Marilyn, the sommelier, who took the time to help us with tasting some wonderful wines. We fell in love with Lille and a lot of that was due to the warm and wonderful stay at the centrally located L'Abre Voyageur hotel. This hotel - and the staff - are one of a kind.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 night, had great time - very central location, very comfy beds and delicious food in the hotel restaurants. Free snacks and soft drinks in the minibar. Free chocolates for Easter! Lovely deco and stylish furniture. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to everybody. Great for families. Fantastic cocktails! Very reasonably priced! Loved it!!!

We were enormously impressed by this hotel. Everything was perfect. Its location could not have been more convenient (within a few minutes' walk to all the city's main attractions) and its staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - even going out of their way to send me back a bag I had forgotten at the hotel on departure! The rooms were clean, bright, quiet and well-designed, with everything you could want and great attention to detail. Modern and yet very comfortable. We had interconnecting rooms 46 and 47 which were perfect for our family. The breakfast was also good. We would definitely stay here again.

We wanted to have a quick look at Lille on the way to the tunnel so booked a 1 night stop. We usually go for 'traditional' hotels but this took our fancy and we were glad we opted for it. Rooms were small but complete and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. The decor is eclectic and we really liked it.

I booked a surprise trip to Lille for Fiancé 50th Wow ! What a Hotel 10 minute walk from Eurostar to the Hotel and a Lovely Welcome in the stunning Foyer with a welcome drunk As I was unable to email the Hotel direct I asked if it was possible to upgrade with it being a special occasion Lilly managed to upgrade us at half price which was fine . The Hotel room was large, the wet room huge The best comfiest bed we have slept in and the pillows were heavenly. There was a free mini bar with snacks & non alcoholic drinks and L'Occtaine toiletries which both were a lovely touch . We didn't get a chance to eat in either Restaurant but they both looked lovely . Location was amazing 3 min walk to Old Town and Square . Will definitely return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

After looking at Trip Advisor and the Lille map chose this hotel and what a good choice it turned out to be.It is ideally situated for strolling through very attractive old town. On booking in the charming and helpful receptionist even escorted us to our room which had been upgraded from a prestige one to a suite.Everything just right - from really comfy beds, bathrobes, free safety deposit a coffee machine and even a fridge with soft drinks which were FREE.. If I was being really critical only suggestion would be a couple more hooks for hanging wet coats. Hotel give a superb full breakfast in a dining room which later sells burghers and lighter meals (All good. There is also a separate resraurant for top quality meals with some unique dishes - tried and greatly enjoyed. Would not hesitate to go back or suggest to friends

This hotel is a few. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly and the staff we spoke to all spoke very good English. The rooms were ideal and we had breakfast both days we were there as it was really good value and there was plenty of variety. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed here from the 12th to the 14th of February 2018 with a friend. We arrived by Eurostar and the hotel is about a flat 10minute walk from the station. Walking the other way from this hotel is the old town so it's actually really well located. Once we arrived, we were shown to a twin room, we had requested a twin not being a couple and they were happy to accomodate. There are both positives and negatives to be said for the room itself. It's compact and there are not enough places to hang things like coats/scarves/bags/clothes with only one hanging door, we both had our small/mid size suitcases open and left our clothes in there. They do not provide the use of bathrobes/slippers. and the big one...The bathroom area, ok, look, maybe if you're a part of a couple it may not be a concern. There's a big walk in shower which outside of it is a sink/mirror and then behind a separate door a small toilet which my travel companion complained of being too claustrophobic every time she used it. to shield the sink/mirror/shower from the room there is a frosted door that slides over to where the toilet is (apologies, it's a bit hard to describe) If the door had been frosted entirely it probably would've been fine but it had the hotel motif etched in it which was clear so we had to ask each other to turn away whilst in the shower/getting dressed. The entire bathing area has no natural light so whilst I do understand their reasoning to a degree, I think lack of privacy trumps lack of natural light. For those of us who travel with friends or family and not necessarily as a couple, a lack of privacy is a problem, and with more people travelling this way, I think it's something hotels need to take in to consideration. For this reason alone, I would not return to this hotel. Ok, now that's been said. There were positives! The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and there were a couple of nice touches, namely the mini bar with water/juice/coke and a couple of snacks which are complementary and replenished daily. The bath products are l'occitane and there is an Apple smart tv, this allowed me to connect my iphone and watch items from Netflix etc. The staff are friendly and will do what they can do assist. We had the breakfast one of the days, it costs 16Euro pp but for us it wasn't worth it. It's very heavy on pastries/cake and it's in a very tight space and not at all easy to get around, one person can go at a time. There weren't any egg options, some cereal, cheese and salmon to go with your toast.. plus hot drinks and juice. We had been looking for a hot breakfast because at the time we visited although sunny the weather was freezing. For coffee and croissant, there's better. I can't comment on the restaurant food as although we wanted to order room service from their more casual restaurant, on the night we called they had run out of the one vegetarian option on their menu. Tripadvisor really need to add 'Good' as a rating option as I find that i'm often caught by not wanting to label something as average but I wouldn't say this hotel was VERY good. For the 2 nights we stayed, it was good.

We spent 3 nights here. The room was modern and clean, lovely shower and bed was really comfortable. Complimentary expresso machine and min-bar were great.. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful, they acknowledged you every time you passed reception. Good idea to give you a free drink if you didn't want housekeeping done every day. The breakfast was superb, everything you could think of, lots of different breads and pastries, all were excellent. This is a beautiful hotel, the best I've stayed in, the staff deserve to be complimented on their hospitality.

A great hotel that's situated right in the heart of Lille just near to the old town. Finding it was relatively easy but it was a little bit of a pain to have to park in the nearby Opera car park which was a short walk away. I think we paid €14 for overnight parking which was reasonable. The hotel is beautiful and looks utterly brand new. The staff were incredibly welcoming and carried our bags to our room. The room was spectacular. Comfy bed, massive TV, free mini bar and a very modern look. All in all, excellent. One slight, bizarre problem was that we woke up at about 6am as we could smell smoke. We told reception staff while checking out but they did not appear to be too bothered about this... A bit odd. Anyway, I'd still recommend the hotel, we probably just had a bizarre situation at the end of our stay!

We stayed 3 nights in mid-December at our best ever BW stay: superb staff, modern rooms and top notch toiletries & free mini bar (latter items are non-existent if you are a US BW regular...). Breakfast was a real treat with smoked salmon, assorted breads, fresh OJ, excellent coffee and multiple other items. We didn't even peruse the hot options. Location is excellent for parking and walking to the train station. Jane is worth spending extra euros (our one dinner) but the burger bar is so-so (two dinners but we were exhausted from the initial snowy trip from Arras and, the next day, the whiteout trip of 11 hrs. to Dunkirk-sans stopping except a horrible coffee--and back to our lovely hotel). Worthy of mention, the sandwich option was unavailable on both nights, although we would have gladly settled for a fresh sandwich after the Dinkurk trip. Mentioned in previous reviews, this hotel is ideally located for tourism. We will be back in early November 2018 to visit Dunkirk and area sites from a base at this wonderful hotel.

This is a very smart and immaculate hotel located centrally in Lille. Car parking is discounted at the adjacent car park. It is all very nice and comfortable. Breakfast is nice but we found staff to be slow to replenish items including the mandatory baguette! We did not eat dinner in the hotel.

As others have said the hotel is really conveniently located, close to Lille Eurostar and also the main tourist and shopping areas. Reception was very friendly and the guy on the desk when we checked in spoke perfect English (and French obviously) and took time to highlight local sites on a map. The roomwas a reasonable size with large flat screen tv, big double bed and l'occitaine products in the bathroom. As is not unusual in France the toilet is in its own separate room, nit the main bathrwoom area which is open plan and separated by a glass screen from the room. There is some hanging space and shelves but it is limited, not a problem for a couple of nights stay but could be an issue for anything longer. The real bonus, however, was the minibar. It is stocked with soft drinks and snacks/nibbles and these are completely free and they will re-stock each day. That was a really nice touch. Oh, and if you skip room service if staying two days or less you get a free drink at the bar. Breakfast was ok, a reasonable selection and good pastries but have had better offerings and more choice elsewhere at equivalent hotels. Would recommend as a place to stay if visiting Lille.

Hotel is just 10 min walk from the train station. A further 10 mins takes you to the city. Room we had was slightly smaller than a Premier in but was OK. Clean and tidy with the offer of a free drink if you did not have the room serviced after the first night. We only used the restaurant for (supplied) breakfast which was a pleasant surprise with plenty of choice. Sausages and bacon looked a bit insipid, but we did not sample that part of breakfast but there was plenty of everything. The only thing i can recommend is that it does get busy (very) so an early breakfast would be advisable. The hotel could have been a little warmer as could have the room. I could not get the heating to work but was supplied with a heater when mentioned to reception. There is a car park (underground) nearby but it seemed to fill very quickly and street parking was ata premium. Overall an ideal place for a few days stay in Lille.

Very nice hotel located just at the border of the Old town. Very convenient to discover the city by foot. The hotel has 2 restaurants, nice and clean rooms, staff polite and helpful. they hav a room with a small terrasse that you may want to ask for when booking (number 10)

Excellent accommodation, with helpful and polite staff, from check in to check out. The room was very clean with modern decor and details, the extra amenities a very welcome surprise (complimentary mini-bar), quality bathroom products, with breakfast being a good range and plentiful. Located so close to the city centre, the Grand Place is within a few minutes walk, it's a great base to experience Lille.

Long weekend and our first trip to Lille. Warm welcome at reception and most of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Hotel is no more than 10 minutes walk from the train station and close to where the Christmas market is sited. The old town is easily walkable and indeed central Lille is easily accessible from the hotel. We ate in the burger restaurant on the first night. Food was good and service prompt and with a smile. Breakfast also provided plentiful opportunity to fuel up for the day ahead. Our room was on a busy road yet no great noise at night. The complimentary minbar supplies (no alcohol) were a nice touch and replenished daily. Only a couple of minor gripes; would have been good to have ‘standard' tea and coffee in the room and it was frustrating that efforts to buy a sandwich at the shop forming part of the hotel seemed to be thwarted at every turn. Overall, however, an enjoyable stay and certainly worth considering again.

Great hotel, fab location and wonderful staff ...this hotel is lovely, we stayed with a young baby to visit Lille and we were not disappointed. Room was comfortable and the shower large, pillows feather (lovely) duvet synthetic- though some may prefer I wasn't keen. Mini bar as some have mentioned, yes complementary. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were so very helpful and kind. We ate breakfast just once at the hotel during our two night stay. Bread good, coffee terrible. Ambiance great. Only thing it's let down on, is the lack of public seating areas...there is just one I believe that isn't outside and it's a bit small and not exactly somewhere you can just sit and while away the hours. However, if I am ever to return to Lille I will book this hotel. Don't hesitate- book the hotel

Went to Lille for the Christmas market. The hotel was near everything. Booked the suite which was big enough for 4. They have complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar. The room was clean and warm. They also have 2 restaurants on site. It was so cold that we didn't want to venture out in the evening so we ate in the burger restaurant. The burgers were tasty and it was very relaxing. A great place for families to eat. Breakfast in the morning was continental buffet with a small selection of hot offerings. The breads and pastries were lovely but the hot food could have been more appetising. You made your own hot drinks from a machine. Would have preferred proper coffee. Overall we enjoyed our visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very central. Would definitely stay there again if traveling to Lille

This hotel is brilliant. Located within a couple of minutes walk of the centre of Lille and within a ten minute walk to the train station it is perfectly placed. The hotel is still very new (opened 8 months when we stayed) and they are doing a really great job. The rooms are very nice with all the expected amenities as well as a free mini bar (although no alcohol is included)! Our room was what I would call a conventional shape for a hotel so it seemed a bit small but the bathroom was bigger than your average; nonetheless it was all very nice. All that being said the best aspect of this hotel is the customer service. I have never come across such friendly or polite staff at a hotel and it was such a pleasure. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring Lille and to access the train stations. Throughout our entire visit, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. From check in to check out, they were very inviting and we appreciated their efforts to speak English to us upon arrival even though we spoke french, it was a very nice gesture. Room was slightly larger than average french standards and very well designed for travelers. Decor and finishing are very appealing and make for a beautiful hotel. It was also nice to have a restaurant, bar, and patisserie all on site within the hotel. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Lille for a wonderful stay.

We planned to completely unwind in Lille last weekend and I chose L'Arbre Voyageur as our base. Unfortunately it didn't quite meet our expectations in that regard because there wasn't really anywhere to relax, read, chill or lounge around. Apart from our room and we didn't want to be there all day. Ok, there's a couple of tables in reception but who wants to sit in reception? There's also an outside courtyard which looked pleasant enough but was utterly useless in the rain. I have to admit I went for the wrong option this time but (obviously) that's not the hotels fault. There's no denying this is a gorgeous place to stay with a luxury feel in a fantastic location populated by the friendliest most helpful staff. A great place to come back to after a day of exploring this lovely city. There's is also a bar but that was shared with upmarket restaurant "Jane" and seemed to closed most the time we were there. However; when it was open their cocktails were very good, albeit on the expensive side. Things we liked about the hotel; As I've already said; the staff were so friendly, helpful and spoke good English, which made life much easier for us. They were happy to help with recommendations or book restaurants for dinner. When we asked about late checkout (we had an evening train back to London) they happily gave us an extra couple of hours absolutely free. The fab location is unbeatable. Just across from Grand Place and Vieux Lille (Old Town), while both Lille Europe and Lille Flanders stations are less than a 10 min walk, even with luggage. Our room (53) was a decent size, quiet, with comfortable beds, a lovely big walk in rainforest shower. A toilet separated by another wooden door. My girlfriend made sure the plush L'Occitane toiletries disappeared into the case straight away, so never got the chance to use those. The wardrobe was tiny though, so don't expect to hang a lot of clothes up. The minibar is completely free and replenished every day with soft drinks, water and snacks. We thought this was a nice touch. If you stay for two or more nights you can swap maid service for a drink at the bar, but my girlfriend wanted those toiletries and snacks in the mini-fridge. Good idea though. On Sunday morning the breakfast room was in Jane restaurant (until 11) and it was absolute chaos! We had to wait a while for a table but in all honesty staff struggled to cope. Everything ran out, we then had to wait for plates, cutlery and glasses. Patience was required here but an old couple in particular were just plain rude to the staff, absolutely no need for it. On Monday morning breakfast swapped to the burger restaurant (until 10) and couldn't have been more different, it was much more of a tranquil affair. Interestingly we weren't offered the option of eggs to order on either occasion even though they tracked us down to ask for our room number. I only knew they were an option after seeing others eating them, but I had to ask. Think the hotel could make more effort to let customers know about this, especially as their guests are paying extra for breakfast - or at least I did. Other than that the variety and quality of food was very good. Be aware that if you come for the weekend virtually nothing is open in town on Sundays, the odd coffee shop or restaurant but that's about it. And this continued into Monday morning with a lot of places still shut. But at least the Christmas market was up and running. If you plan to go out for dinner I highly recommend booking somewhere otherwise you may well struggle. We had reservations at "N'Autre Monde" which was excellent. The safari decor theme throughout could've been tacky but is actually really tastefully done, in fact we loved it and it certainly helped make this a very stylish hotel indeed. So in short, an enjoyable stay with nothing to complain about at all, a great place to stay but just not quite what we were looking for on this occasion. Iain, London

Location was great close to the station and room was perfect. Very comfortable bed and the TV connects to your phone/ipad which was a bonus. Nice, modern bathroom although my one complaint was that the shower has no door and my entire bathroom ended up soaked! I had to hold the shower head too and it could have been hotter! Also, it was pretty noisy at night. There were 2 restaurants on site dependent on your budget but I chose to eat out so cannot comment on those. Breakfast, however, was excellent - eggs cooked however you like and lots of options. Also the minibar in the room was free and well stocked which was a nice touch. Would stay again.

Great hotel, room a bit sparse and felt a bit office like. Comfortable bed though. Breakfast esp the bread was very good. The location is good for down town visit. At €304 per night a bit on the steep side to be honest.

Came here for two nights on the recommendation of friends who came over for two days from London. It is a 10mins walk from the Eurostar station, 5mins to the the city's old charming town centre. This is a nice, airy, if dark in some places, well designed hotel. The staff are helpful and nice. Their formal restaurant if very good. The design is led by ethnic modernity, a bit African and a touch Asian, contemporary and retro chic. All in all a nice discovery and if in town again will stay here.

Great deal through a website for a short break in Lille,this 4star brand new hotel ticks all the boxes:perfect location,excellent service,clean welcoming and comfortable rooms.Highly recommended.Own bakery ,a florist and burger bar ,plus another restaurant to keep you all satisfied.

My wife, eight year old son and I stayed here between 15-17 September. My wife and I were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a Junior Suite and were pleased with the room and our experience of the hotel in general. We arrived after 22:00 on the Friday night, having travelled to Lille by Eurostar. The journey time is approximately 1h 30 mins. The reception staff at check-in were friendly and courteous. They made us feel welcome. The two restaurants off the reception lobby were busy and lively. The lift was to the side of reception and we took this to our floor. The room was spacious, well laid out and airy. Our son was pleased with his double sofa bed. He was also pleased with the large wall mounted flat screen tv. My preference is for showers, over baths, and that is what we got. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch. Being a Junior Suite, drinks and snacks in the fridge were included in the room cost. The windows were large affording good natural light into the room. Our room overlooked a block of shared flats/small business units? but there were no issues with privacy. I made use of the Nespresso and the coffee was good. My wife made use of the tea bags. The buffet breakfast was not included in the price, but we did have it on the Saturday morning. There was a good selection of the usual suspects – cereals, cold meats and cheeses, pastries, breads and juices. There was also bacon and eggs cooked to your choice. My only criticism of the breakfast on the Saturday is it that was located in the smaller of the two restaurants, which was more of a café style restaurant. As such space was limited, and it was mildly irritating having to negotiate the ‘traffic' when there were a lot of you choosing food. On the Sunday we got up later, and had brunch in the town. The hotel is in a great location. We didn't have much luggage and therefore walked from the train station to the hotel on the Friday night. It took us about 10-12 minutes. The town centre is then another couple of minutes beyond that. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Spent on night here and it was perfect! Very good customerservice, clean room with a relaxing and big bathroom that had comfy slippers and a bathrobe for you. This hotel is central, very close to old town. Will come back

Cannot find fault with this amazing hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable and modern rooms, L'Occitane products in the bathrooom, complimentary (non-alcoholic) mini-bar and tray in room with coffee maker. Lovely Italian shower. Choice of two restaurants - the more upmarket Jane and the burger bar Ma Reine. Ate in Jane and I have to say it was exceptional - the pasta flamed in vodka tossed in the parmesan block topped with truffles was divine. Expensive in Jane but well worth it. Location is superb - just around the corner from the old town and very close to Lille Flanders and Lille Europe. Reception staff could not be more helpful. Would definitely recommend for a visit to Lille and would visit again just to stay here.

We very much enjoyed staying here. The hotel was sleek but comfortable, the bathroom in our room was huge, and everything was very clean. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the bar staff as we used our free drinks, in exchange for not having our room made up daily. We ate at the restaurant on one of the nights of our stay and the food was delicious.

I spent four nights in this fine establishment. Hotel L'Arbre Voyageur is quite new in Lille. It is located a block away from the old, charming part of Lille. At the same time, railway stations are only minutes walk away. I stayed in De luxe Suit. It is spacious, with king side bed, large tub and rain shower. L'Ocittane amenities are of good quality. Aside from few hairs on the floor, room was clean. The bed linen is of kind suitable for hotel use, meaning easy to wash and non absorbing. In combination with duvet it made me sweat. I always question the practice of hotels worldwide to put duvets on their beds during the summer season. There are two large LCD TVs in this room with fair choice of French and Belgian TV channels plus standard CNN, BBC, DW... Coffee making machine is there as well as kettle to heat up water. A very nice touch is free mini bar. Hotel's personnel speaks good English. There are two restaurants within the hotel with good food. Public garage is next door and daily pass is available at the hotel's front desk. Hotel is very conveniently located in respect to access to major roads leading to or out of the city. Check in and check out were efficient, fast and pleasant. I certainly recommend this hotel.

Everything is new, designed tastefully, very friendly and helpful staff. Most of the staff speaks English (not the waiter at the restaurant, so it might make it a bit difficult to order). There is a very pleasant terrace outside, breakfast was good, burgers at the restaurant also tasty. As negatives, bed was not as comfortable as we would have expected and the fact that the shower did not have a door.

Very nice, modern hotel. Well located, not far from centre or station but very quiet. Bakery and restaurants part of the hotel. Attractive modern rooms including nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. Polite, attentive service.

Fabulous value - staff very professional and helpful; great location just by the old town; rooms beautifully fitted and clean and quiet; superb breakfast service. We will definitely return. The standard is way, way better than that of much pricier establishments!

Stayed 1 night, room clean and with good facilities. Shower excellent. Breakfast good selection and good coffee. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would stay again at this hotel next time I am in Lille.

We actually reserved four rooms three nights each for two different families. This was a part business and part pleasure trip with kids ranging from 5 to 18 years old. This hotel had very modern rooms that have been recently renovated four months ago and include everything you need for a good night stay. The area was quiet AC work very well and was modern the beds were very comfortable and everything around the hotel was tremendously clean. The staff were very accommodating and the restaurant on site JANE was incredible. It was so good we ate three meals there. Not the cheapest of restaurants but the service and the food was that of a top restaurant. We will certainly be back.

L' Arbre Voyageur is a brand new hotel just outside Virus Lille (the old city center). Service is impeccable, the rooms are modern and elegant with a twist. There are two restaurants, a bakery (!) and a coctail bar (the cocktails are excellent be it a bit pricy). There is a public car park at 30 meters. It talks just a 5 minute walk to be in the centre of the old town. Don't hesitate to book it if you're thinking of going to Lille.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms very good.Very comfortable and clean beds. Staff friendly and very helpful.Such a lovely place to stay that we added another night to our trip.Would definitely go back there and recommend to others. Reasonable price too.

At the end of our vacation, we decided to stay in Lille on the way back to the Eurotunnel. The Hotel L'Arbre Voyageur had good reviews on TripAdvisor so we went for it. We parked in the Opera car park (€14 for the night) and had a 2 minute walk to the hotel. Check in was great with Lisa obviously being proud of the hotel (newest in BW chain apparently). She walked us to our room and explained all of the gadgets etc. The room was modern, but slightly compact. It did have a Richard coffee machine (think Nespresso) which was nice. The bar (Jane) was good and the food looked good, although we didn't have any. We ate in old town which was a 5 min walk. We're already planning our return!

This hotel had just opened a few weeks when we stayed here. It is very nicely designed, great room layout and very well located, a short walk away from Lille Centre and the lively Vieux Lille. Staff is very friendly, there are two restaurants in the hotel, and many more in walking distance. Breakfast is well prepared but could be a bit improved (eg no scrambled eggs). Do make a parking reservation for the parking garage very close to the hotel, and you will be looking forward to a nice stay!

This little gem of a hotel was in of the highlights of our trip. It is beautiful, well designed and über stylish. The rooms are small but well appointed. The lobby is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was delicious with items made by their in- house bakery. The location is amazing as you are right on the edge of the old town where there is fantastic shopping and wonderful restaurants. Absolutely loved the city of Lille and this hotel was wonderful.

in summary it´s a fantastic hotel. The staff is very friendly, well trained and very helpful. The rooms are not over decorated, very good taste in the decoration btw... and they have everything you need: a good bed, stable and quick internet connection, nice shower, the whole hotel and rooms are very clean, lots of natural light, silent and well insulated. The breakfast is rich without being too exagerated. You find all you want to eat. I needed to iron my shirt and the staff brought an ironing board and iron in less than 2 minutes. The location is really good, only a few minutes walk from the old square. There are shops, cafes and nice restaurants around. I super recommend it. :-)

We booked here after a nightmare in Bruges, we didn't know what to expect of this hotel or Lille having never been before. It couldn't have been much better to be fair. Check-in was smooth, friendly and very helpful. A nice touch was being taken to/shown the rooms. Reception were exceptional, as were all the staff members we encountered, they couldn't do enough. For those driving, the Carpark is aboput 50 metres away, secure and very reasonably priced, even without the discounted hotel parking rate. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and spotless. The beds are very comfortable. One slight downside, is the amount of light from the in-room phone and the clock underneath the TV, we do like our room nice and dark. There is an mini-bar which is complimentary, stocked with a small choice of waters/soft drinks and snacks which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was exceptional on 2 of our mornings, there was a very good selection, the staff were very accommodating and great with the kids. There could be a little more room to allow for busier periods, but you are never rushed. Sunday morning was a bit busy, there was a shortage in seating and unfortunately the staff struggled to keep the food selection stocked up, although if you asked, they served you at the table with a little wait. Maybe teething troubles? The restaurant is pleasant, they serve homemade burgers which are definitely worth a try. The hotel bar is also very nice, the house cocktails are nice. I would recommend the 'Boarding Pass to Tennessee' or the 'Leave me alone', but if you have sweeter tooth the 'Lemon Meringue Pie'. They also have their own bakery attached to the hotel who sell most of the bread and pastry selections you will find at breakfast. Prices are reasonable, we couldn't resist taking some home with us. The Hotel is located on the boundary of Old Lille and the more modern shopping area, the hotel is in a very good location, lots within walking distance, whether you want shopping, eating or just to admire the pleasant beauty of 'old' Lille. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough, we will be returning. The hotel is ideally situated and is very modern and clean. The staff are extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again if travelling to Lille. You would find it difficult to better the hotel both in location and atmosphere.

From the moment we arrived till the moment we left no request was too big. The hotel is spotless, tastefully decorated but what really makes this hotel is every member of staff who ALL go over and beyond to make you feel welcome. Would definitely recommend and would come back here again. Thanks.
