« Efficient comfortable room, great dinner too »

We were pleasantly surprised by this little hotel near the Leknes Airport. The rooms aren't huge but they make very efficient use of the space and we found we liked the room much more than the radisson blu we stayed at in Bergen -- and the shower was the BEST we've had in all of Norway! Good pressure, hot water, and no flooding the bathroom. Everything was super clean, the free wifi worked great, simple amenities in the bathroom, comfy bed, a window that opened -- and a great restaurant downstairs for dinner, plus a solid breakfast included with the room. We found the service friendly & helpful. Again, for the luxury traveler this might not qualify as Very Good. But even for those of us who prefer a 5 star hotel, this is a great little find in the Lofotens. Definitely recommend!

« Great wifi and parking »

It's the best around this little town. Staff is nice and the beds are great. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every restful minute. It's an average price. It definitely has a good breakfast. Really happy with the wifi and free parking. There was no fridge I. The room. The bathroom floors have excellent heaters and so did the room. After a long day of hiking it is the perfect place to rest.

« Mixed feelings, but some good points that cannot be ignored »

Firstly, it is important to mention that this is the only hotel in a small town. For us, the main memories that tend to stick about a hotel are its staff and the room. Our encounter with Best Western Hotel unfortunately started on a less-than-ideal note as we were asking that lady who first received us during our check-in about the Northern Light and let alone welcoming, she was neither friendly nor helpful in her responses. We had pretty high expectations of hotels in the Arctic Circle, after the hotel staff at Bodo told us that Hotel staff in Lofoten and Tromso would be most happy to share with us regarding the best conditions and places to see the Northern Lights. So this experience was especially disappointing for us. But on a more positive note, all the other staff seemed more friendly and helpful. And we were pleasantly surprised when the hotel provided laundry services at a nominal fee. The dinner at the restaurant in the hotel was fabulous and we enjoyed the food. As for the room, we were kind of disappointed when we first stepped in. But later we realized, the room itself was itself not too bad, just that there was this jaded and tired 1970s-looking sofa sitting in a corner that added decades to the way the room looked. A lady from reception even helped me to print my flight itinerary which emailed to the hotel even after telling me I could use the printer attached computer at the corner. Behind the hotel was a dark place, so we figured that if there was aurora activity, this spot could be a possible viewing location for the lights ... although we weren't that lucky when we the two nights we stayed there.

    « Very Satisfied Visit »

We stayed here 3 nights. The room was clean and decent, just a bit small for us as we carry a lot of luggage on an international trip, but not different than we expected. Breakfast was good, and the one dinner we had here was very good. The staff was very helpful, particularly in helping us get some laundry done. Might give 4.5 if I could.

    « Fine Hotel - Good Food »

Being in the Arctic Circle, I was expecting significantly less. This is a good solid hotel located a 4 minute drive from the Leknes Airport. We spent 11 nights here taking photos all over the Lofoten Islands. The rooms are small but comfortable and well appointed. The shower is good, the bed comfortable but a bit on the soft side. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the breakfasts are wonderful. They have smoked salmon, an array of cold cuts, hard boiled and soft boiled eggs, several types of cheese, delicious fresh baked croissants, a variety of breads, scrambled eggs, sausage, baked beans, fruit and vegetables, and a variety of granolas with lots of grain toppings. I cannot say enough about the breakfast here. Finally, the hotel restaurant (same space and chefs as for the breakfast) for our evening meal turned out to be the best restaurant in town. Every dinner we had there (7 in all) was excellent. We particularly liked the fresh baked salmon and the fresh halibut items on the dinner menu. As I already indicated, the staff at the Best Western Lofoten is very friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Ivan, one of the chefs who seemed to be on duty most of the time we were there. He was superb as a chef but also friendly and knowledgeable as a local resident giving us great tips on where to go, what to see, and where the good photo opportunities were. Thank you Ivan. When we return to Lofoten in 2 years we will stay at this very nice place with friendly staff.

« Good beds, great food, what more does one need? »

A Group of us were on the island for a Meeting and chose this hotel - and were we pleasantly surprised!!! While the exterior is appropriate to the location, the interior is warm and welcoming - the staff and their hospitality are first class - but, what really wowed us was the superb dinner. Dinner options included local Food served to best enhance its regional quality, complemented by a surprisingly excellent house wine. Breakfast was varied and generous. Top of the market beds and really comfy pillows ensured a good night's sleep. The room was large enough, and TV coverage was adequate. I also recommend persons from the local community to come in for dinner one day.

    « A good sleep »

Had a good sleep. A avergae room. Breakfast was good, better than normal. Asked for advice for restaurant in the reception. Leknes has 2 pizza, 1 thai and 1 fish. You would expect that when working in the hotelreception you have tried the fishrestaurant. If not, at least pretend :)

« Friendly staff, loud rooms »

We were there for two nights. The first night they gave us a single room, but we could change rooms for the second night. This was very friendly and we also got cash refund for their mistake. The hotel is very loud, you can hear nearly everything. The room in second floor( the family suite) was quite big and clean. Room in first floor was very old equiped. So ask for rooms in second floor. Breakfast was not of very high choice possibilities.

« Nice hotel, simple and tidy »

The hotel is basic but in line with the standards in the region. Tidy and clean offer enough comfort. Excellent breakfast! Leknes itself not exciting as such but good place to move around. Wifi on board, free parking.

« Only hotel in town, okay but not exciting »

Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable. Perfectly ok but not charming or a place to seek out. If you arrive in Stamsund on the evening boat and need a nearby hotel, it works. They have a restaurant so no need to go looking good for food.

« Old, dated and not cleaned. Friendly staff. »

We stayed here for 3 days. During these three days the room wasn't cleaned every day. Baskets were not emptied. Only the bed was made. Despite other comments I saw about this hotel, I found the staff very friendly. Especially the service at the dinner was very good. We had halfboard and the dinners were very tasteful. Breakfast was okay. Wifi was good. Hotel is a bit noisy.

    « Disappointing service »

Stayed here for 3 days recently. On arrival we were told the restaurant was closed so no evening meals as it was a national holiday. If the hotel was willing to take a booking a full service should be provided or advise customers at time of booking if unable to do so. Staff were remote and unhelpful obviously focused on providing a service in the restaurant for locals on their national holiday. On the day of departure there was an obvious shortage of fresh ingredients for breakfast which was poor to say the least. The rooms were adequate and clean. Kettle provided but lead did not reach the plug located under the desk. Not the standard I expect from Best Western

    « Unfriendly »

Staying at this hotel for 3 days. Breakfast average. No evening meals because of bank holiday. Staff not very helpful at recommending alternative eating places. Function on in dinning room one day and had to go through people to be able to get to room. Staff not very friendly made us feel we were in the way. Not many plugs in room. Was clean. Overall did not enjoy stay. Would not recommend.

« Okay hotel with friendly staff »

Best Western Lofoten hotel is so say the only hotel alternative centrally downtown Leknes. The price reflected this fact, but the hotel itself is okay and with friendly staff. The location is great because you can reach everything at Leknes by foot and the hotel has plenty of parking places so you can easily leave your car. The breakfast is nice with fresh produce and with typical Norwegian touch. Cosy and nice dining area. The rooms stand before me as a little "old fashion" and very basic. The important thing is that the room as clean and the bed comfortable.

« Really nice and helpful stuff »

We just stayed one night at this place. The service was very good. We booked the hotel through another web page and there were some problems so the hotel never received our booking but they had a free room for us and fixed everything so that we didn't have to care about it. Leknes is not a really beautiful city, there is nearly nothing to do except shopping - but at least you can reach everything very fast from this hotel. The only thing I was missing was a sauna - that would have been really nice.

    « Boring prefab hotel »

A rather dull place in Lofoten. The hotel was originally prefabricated for the Lillehammer Olympics in 1994 and subsequently moved to Leknes after the end of the games. The rooms are average. The food is bland and dull. The staff seem disinterested and the place is overprized. The hotel gives you absolutely no association with Lofoten, and could be anywhere in Norway.

    « Not bad »

To be frank, Leknes is not the most charming town in Lofoten and this is one of the only proper hotels in the area. That said, it's in my opinion the best base for sight seeing and this hotel is a solid option, especially if you want a hotel rather than cabin. Rooms are clean but nothing special. The breakfast is ordinary but the restaurant makes some pretty nice meals for dinner. Staff were very pleasant. The carpark had ample space. Wifi worked well. I would give it 3.5/5 overall.

« Great Location good rooms and very helpful staff! »

The location of this place is walking distance from pretty much anything you might need, basically in the center of town but with enough property around it to avoid loud cars etc. I am staying here for a week and so far the place has been lovely. The breakfast is top notch for this level of hotel and for the price. Yes there are better breakfasts in other cities but this breakfast was solid, with a good variety. If I had to complain it would be the brand new espresso machine serving some kind of powdered espresso and coffee etc. but It does the job! We tested out the hotel restaurant the second night and the food was very good, and my colleagues would agree as well. We will probably be eating there a lot this week since there are only a few other options with great sit down food. The rooms are pretty decent with brand new bathrooms, TV, good beds and free WIFI. The staff is fabulous.

« There are more charming places to stay in Lofoten than this hotel! »

The main advantage of this hotel is its location in town, close to eateries, shopping mall, gas stations, and proximity to the Leknes airport and the E10 road through Leknes. Scenery-wise there is nothing exciting? If you are looking for the most spectacular nature in Lofoten I will recommend the area around Reine (Moskenes)! Rooms did not seem to have been upgraded for a long time (see attached photos). The breakfast and dinner vas OK. The service from the staff at check-in/out could have been much better! The best of all with this hotel is the price level ? Hotels in Lofoten is really expensive even for Norwegians! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

    « Good room standard »

I stayed at similar standard hotels in Leknes, Svolvaer and Tromso over a week and the Leknes Best Western Lofoten hotel definitely had the best room of the three. New carpet and bathroom, reasonable space. Hotel had a good quality restaurant open for dinner and it was full on the Saturday night with guests and locals which I always a good sign. Breakfast was ok, self help but they didn't have enough milk which was a bit unusual. Otherwise all good, and even though it's the smaller town I would recommend Leknes in preference to Svolvaer as a base for the exploring the Lofotens- it's more central.

« Nice stay st BW »

Just a very good place to stop at, especially when you do have a car. Filling breakfasts included. Stable WI-FI. Clean and tidy. I've stayed in BW for two days and managed to explore Haukland, Uttakleiv and Ballstad on a bike

    « Good hotel for a stop-over »

Fairly non-expensive hotel, but no luxury. Good place to stop-over. Nice and clean, but nothing "special". Don't miss the nearby fish restaurant Johnsens fish. Lofotens largest shopping mall is in the center, too.

« Brilliant customer service and well equipped rooms »

I stayed overnight in Leknes on my way back to Narvik, there was an initial mix up with my booking but they very quickly sorted that out. The restaurant in the hotel has great food for a pretty decent price in comparison to the rest of the Lofoten Islands. My room was very well equipped and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were very helpful in getting me the information I needed to board the right bus and to be at the right place at the right time.

« Good standard, fine food »

Stayed here during a business trip for two nights. The hotel rooms upheld an acceptable standard, with newly (?) renovated bathrooms. The restaurant is small, but breakfast had what you needed for either healthy breakfast or the more sausage 'n bacon style. I was extremely happy with the dinner apertizer Whale beef! I must admit I was a little sceptical, but man oh man, it was delicious! For main course I had the "Catch of the day which was Halibut" The fish was very good, vegetables crunchy and well prepared. However it may have lacked some salt and more taste to the sauce, but all in all it was good. I recommend this place ??

« Excellent location to explore the Lofoten, NO »

The Best Western Lofoten Hotell is located close to the Leknes airport in the center of Leknes, a little town in the middle of the Lofoten archipelago. It offers clean rooms with separate bathroom TV and free WiFi. The staff is helpfull and friendly. The morning buffet offers a large selection of hot and cold dishes, coffe and juices are complementary throughout the day. The hotel features a very good in-hause restaurant with delicious food. Because of its location in the middle of the archipelago this spot is year-round an excellent hub to explore the beautiful landscape of the Lofoten, a lot of beaches and little villages are close by and invite for interesting day trips.
