« Conveniant hotel in an unattractive location. »

The BW is a too modern hotel and therefor lacks personality. The modern design is function but not very inspiring. The hotel is located next to the Leclerc megastore on a zone industriel. It? conveniant for a short time stay ( one day) and that is about it. The rooms were clean, the staff not very interested.

« Fine but not so cheap »

This hotel has a fine high standard (f.e. bathroom). Price is rather high because breakfast is not included. Leclerc is nearby (but not open on Sundays). Minus: difficult to find in a rather industrial area. We found a small backery at the entrance of the industrial area with coffee croissants etc.

« Good stay in this location »

This hotel is good for stay but only with car. Around this hotel are shopping centers and centers of towns and villages are available only with car. Ocean acces only with car too. Hotel is moder designe well furnished with small kitchen. Balkon with view to shopping center. Small pool. Only breakfast is smaller choice of meals.

    « Best Place with a Car »

Front Desk very helpful. Great rooms with working A/C. Breakfast a great deal. Next door to a mall that sell anything you might need. But a distance from the water. With no car, catching the bus or taxi is a hassle.

    « Great experience! »

The room was fantastic and the view gorgeous! I was able to bring my dog along with me too for a very small extra fee. The staff was very kind and helpful. I strongly recommend the Best Western Hotel!

    « Great conference »

Here for the work annual conference. Well looked after by all staff. Conference room very spacious, nibbles nice and veggie stuff brought out on demand which was appreciated. Evening meal was nice but pudding a bit boring. Sorry for keeping the staff there till 5am though!! Great night!

« Nice Best Western standard »

The hotel is very comfortable and reasonably priced. I haven't been able to find something similiar to this price/quality of room close to Arcachon. As we have a car, the distance is not a problem. We visited the Dune du Pilat and the city on this trip and had to commute to see both in any case. Breakfast is not very interesting and a touch pricey for what was offered, but given everywhere is quite far, we didn't really have much of a choice.

In our room the kitchenette tap was broken, the plug in the hand basin in the bathroom did not function and the curtain hooks were broken and the curtain could not be closed to keep out the outside light on the balcony. On the first night an alarm sounded and continued for at ten minutes. We were unaware of the cause and the guest directory did not address such an advent. The alarms were going in the corridor and the doors were closed at either end. It was an anxious time for us not knowing what was occurring. Eventually we were able to contact reception by phone (after the alarm stopped) and we were advised a guest had been smoking in one of the rooms. Our concern was the lack of protocol for such an event.

    « Japanese tech »

It is located in a businesses place out of the nature views. The rooms are designed like Japanese high tech houses with all the walls plastics and on TV iPod sound systems lights etc.. The bed was super comfortable and large. Nice cleaned bathroom. Wifi was working perfectly. There was a mini bar, coffee machine and tea also available in the room. The interesting part is the spa, two different hammam, sauna, very nicely done indoor pool and jacuzzi. The staff were very kind and professional. We enjoyed the stay.

« Very comfortable rooms; good pool; excellent food at reasonable prices; helpful staff. »

Though located in a business park, this was the best hotel we stayed at on our trip to France this year, and we were away from the traffic and parking issues in and around Arcachon. Large comfortable rooms, spa if you wanted it, and excellent outdoor pool. We preferred to eat at the hotel in the evenings both for the excellent and inexpensive food and the waiter who has a great sense of humour. Though quite modern in its internal decorations everything worked! No hesitation in strongly recommending Best Western.

« Design hotel in unfortunate location »

The inside of this hotel and the rooms are very design with lots of color. It is clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. The suites have a fabulous bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. The downside is the location. All of the rooms look out onto an industrial area and a busy road. One side looks at a hospital and the other a supermarket. That being said, the rooms are very quiet. If you plan on driving to different locations in the area, this is a central location. However, don't be fooled. This hotel is not near the beach. Expect a good 20 minute drive to get to the beautiful local beaches.

« Probably you should stay somewhere else in Arcachon »

So, we had a night in this hotel in the middle of a roadtrip. We wanted to see Archachon, we wanted to see the Dune du Pilat, and we were looking forward to a little spa after a trip. First things first, this hotel is not even close to Arcachon, it is in an industrial area, in the middle of nowhere, with no way of walking to places. So, location is pretty bad. Still there's no shuttle to Arcachon or to anywhere. Then, even if it is a Design & Spa, the spa is not included. You still can access it, for 15 euro per person, 1 hour. The Design is also not included. The room is tacky, with a big white plastic construction that looks cheap and shiny. The lights lack practicality or aesthetics. Our room had views over an E-leclerc. Unlike any other "spa" hotel, also there were very few toiletries: soap, a bottle of shampoo/gel embedded in the bathtub, and one small body lotion, nothing else. The number of towels was also limited. The bathtub was big and mostly ok, though it was made of plastic. It was not clean, in particular the accent items (in our case in red), that are bound to attract attention. The carpet was in the right color to hide dirt but still felt worn. There's a plug for iPhone incrusted in the plastic thing of the wall, which is already getting obsolete. There is a modern alarm clock close to the bed, that needs to be plugged, but electricity depends on the card inserted. Therefore the clock is useless. Ours was not even plugged when we arrived. Internet is really bad. It is slow, it does not have full coverage in the room, and all the time you have to login. There is a restaurant on site, by reservation only. This restaurant is your one and only option if you don't want to drive, so don't fight it. Still it is not at all bad, the restaurant is the reason why the review is not a full "horrible". Food was nice and not pricey. Careful if you are allergic though, because we asked specifically for one ingredient not to appear and it did anyway. The breakfast is also not included, it costs 12 euro per person. Good points: there's some instant coffee you can use, it is not super expensive, and the bed is very good. So, all in all, this is a glorified Ibis budget without the good things that an Ibis budget offers. Had they not have been so stingy (include the spa, include the breakfast, have decent internet, add a couple of nice things in the bathroom, clean a bit), it could have been worth to go all the way to spend the night in the middle of nowhere. On the other direction it could also had worked: had it been in the center of a cosy little town by the sea, it still would have been ok. It is not.

« Great Hotel with Exceptional Staff »

Having read mixed reviews on Trip Advisor we were unsure about making a reservation but relying on the Best Western brand we went ahead and were so pleased we did . The hotel design and decor is definitely different, ultra modern but we loved every bit of it. Do not think plastic = cheap and flimsy, think plastic = quality designer, which sums up the hotel. Our room (French gray) was really spacious even with the comfortable king size bed in place, sliding doors opened onto a small balcony, the bathroom was well equipped and everything worked as it should. We particularly liked the location of the shower controls away from the shower head, we were able to regulate the temperature and force of the shower without risking an unwanted cold shower! The bonus for us was the small fitted kitchenette comprising refrigerator, micro wave, hotplate and kettle so we were able to enjoy our usual early morning cup of tea with fresh milk without having to go down into the restaurant or bar. This was the quietest hotel room we have ever stayed in, shut the windows, set the aircon, no noises of flushing toilets, running water or TV sound from either of the occupied rooms at either side, no banging doors or clanging lift from the corridor, incredible. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings and found that, taking into account the choice, quality of food (cooked to order and preference) and standard of service, the prices are very reasonable and the breakfast choice was good value for 12E The location of the Hotel on an Industrial Estate was not an issue for us, there were in fact a couple of positives, the main one being that there was ample free parking in the hotel grounds. As you enter the grounds the industrial building are screened by lots of hedging and planted tubs, you just forget it is there, not noisy, no factories just warehousing. Another bonus was that just a stroll across the nearby café terrace and you have the Leclerc supermarket and mall for anything you might want or have forgotten. The hotel is not directly at the side of the sea, but only a few minutes drive away there are the beaches, forest walks and the seaside villages, so no problems with this at all. Admittedly there was a nearby busy road but the noise quickly fades into the background and is not a problem for sleeping, when the windows are closed you can not even hear a whisper. What really lifts this hotel from the VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT is the quality of the staff,we were made to feel welcome immediately we entered the hotel by the charming and helpful receptionists, every member of staff we came into contact with was polite friendly and very helpful, we were very grateful to the lovely cleaning services lady who, seeing we were having difficulty with the key card access immediately came across to help us, It was good to see the Manager himself helping out at the "sharp end" on a couple of occasions and really listening to his guests comments. We will definitely be using this hotel again and would highly recommend it, with complete confidence to anyone.
