    « Best western Galicia »

Room was clean and tidy. Reception staff were excellent, couldn't do enough for you. I booked this hotel for our visit to Poland from the reviews that I read, saying that it was within walking distance to the castle and the main square. If you don't mind walking it took us an hour to walk from the hotel to the square, but the is a tram stop just around the corner of the hotel. The receptionists were great at organising us taxi's for our early morning trips that we had booked. The taxi's always arrived on time. Even though the distance from the main square was a bit of a trek I would definitely stay here again.

« Out of the way but good connections »

Quite a way to the city centre by foot, crossing some busy roads, but easy connections by trsm, just around the corner on the main road. Take either team 8 or 10, to Wawel, just 6 stops and are right by the castle and a short walk from the main square. The hotel is functional, what you expect, reasonable buffet breaky but go early, late arrivals may have to wait as seating is limited. Staff helpful and good information.

    « Nice enough as a base »

We stayed here for a week. It's a decent enough location to be able to get out and about around Krakow. There is a tram round the corner but we walked many times to the Old Town, Kazimierz, Podgorze etc so fairly close to all areas. I'd say it's probably about a mile and a half from the old town. Trams are easy enough to use though if you are not used to walking too far. Hotel is a 3 star so don't expect luxury however we were given a bottle of water each each day which I thought was a lovely touch. Staff are friendly and happy to offer assistance. Breakfast is self serve buffet type. Sausage eggs cereal salad meats cheeses and bread selections available. The food available in the evening in the restaurant is of good quality and waiter service both in the mornings at breakfast and evening for a meal or a few drinks was equally good. Would have preferred the bar to stay open later than 10pm and some where more relaxing to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening but that is just a preference more than a criticism. We were allowed to take drinks up to the room so it didnt impact on our stay in anyway. Loved our stay in Krakow and at the Galicya thanks to all

« Good for what we needed »

We stayed Monday/Thursday here for our stay in Poland. We were out all day so the room was ok for what we needed it for which was showers and a bed. Showers are really small but very clean, soap is provided if you wanted it. Clean towels and bedding every day. We were only bed and breakfast and only had breakfast at the hotel the once and it was ok, wasn't a fan of the cooked food but cereal and fruit was available. Staff were always helpful and friendly, we asked them to book a taxi for us to Auschwitz and they did so and was ontime. Hotel is about a 15 minute tram ride to main city but is so easily accessible by the number 8 tram and is ridiculously cheap. Trams are really regular and we never waited more than a couple of minutes for one. Overall a good stay and would recommend this hotel if you're not going to be in the room much and just want somewhere to get your head down for the night.

    « Great stay »

We stayed here for a week - we chose the hotel as part of a BA holiday. The room was good, had everything we needed and was very clean. We struggled to make the room cool enough as we were rubbish with the air con controller, but it didn't bother us enough to ask how to work it, we just slept with the window open! We came back one day to be told immediately by reception that there had been a leak in the room upstairs which had made our room wet and they had therefore moved all of our belongings to a new room - well, they must have taken pictures when they removed the stuff as it was all in in exactly the same place in the new room, very impressive! The staff were all lovely, so freindly and couldn't do enough to help. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was lovely, however it is pricey compared to food out and about in Krakow. The inclusive breakfast was good - nice choice and topped up regularly. We walked in and out of town most days just because we enjoyed the walk and exploring - however used the really cheap tram a couple of times as the stop is literally around the corner from the hotel. A good stay and we would go back there.

« Get what you pay for »

Just returned from best western hotel galicya had a lovely time in Krakow The room was basic it daily cleaned by maids bathroom quite modern shower cubicle a bit on the small size kept on banging my elbows on shower cream dispenser it's quite a distance to Krakow square had to use the trams which were punctual and very cheap 7.5 zloty open ticket return we had two meals in the hotel restaurant both meals were excellent I would give this hotel a 3???+

    « Good quality »

Nice location and good quality on reasonable price. Professional staff with open and personal attitude plus interesting offer of the hotel and restauratorka. Good location for business trip and conference meeting.

    « Good all round »

A very nice clean hotel and friendly hotel. Staff are very helpful and always prepared to go the extra mile for you. It is very modern and very reasonable for the amount it costs. Breakfast was really nice and cater for every culture. I will be visiting again in the future

« Only the location and thin room walls let it down! »

I have just come back from an incredible 4 nights in Krakow where I did so many different things including visiting Auschwitz and the Salt mines. Both of which were amazing excursions. Regarding the hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is delicious. They will even do you an early breakfast if you are going out on an excursion! The only downsides are 1) the walls between the rooms must be really thin. I could hear when my next door neighbour was being sick in the toilet which wasn't very nice, especially when he did it 2 or 3 times waking me up in the middle of the night. Not his fault but soundproofed walls would solve that problem. Also there isn't a safe in the room which I found unusual so I ended up carrying all my money and passport around with me which wasn't great. 2) is the location. Whilst it isn't the hotels fault where it is and the trams are dirt cheap and regular, in hindsight I would rather have had a hotel halfway between the old town and the Jewish quarter, in walking distance of everything so no trams would be needed. However that's not the hotels fault, they can't help their location! In terms of staff, service, food and price great. If you want a great price a friendly hotel and close to public transport links into the city you can't go far wrong. However if you want to be within walking distance of everything I would then choose a different hotel. For a 4 night city break it certainly did the job though. Well done Best Western!

« Nice hotel- location a bit far out for some »

Recently returned from long weekend at the Galycia. Nice hotel- clean, staff very helpful. Can't fault it from a hotel perspective. Rooms fine, our room was twin beds but they were comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Shower cubicle was a bit small but the shower was good. The breakfast was buffet- , yogurt, ham, pickles, breads, cheeses etc. Hot food included porridge toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, frankfurters and potato rosti. There was the usual range of teas and coffee. I defy anyone to go away from breakfast hungry. The only negative was the location- it is away from the old town and may not suit everyone- having said that there is a Tram stop near to the hotel which was dirt cheap, punctual and ran frequently or if you don't want the hassle- the hotel is happy to arrange a taxi for you- again at a reasonable price. Takes up to 15 min to get to the old town. If you book tours - some operators wouldn't pick up from the hotel as it wasn't on the usual route. Not a major issue but we did have to make our way to a different hotel to be picked up for a tour. I would stay here again so long as the price is right but to maximise the time in Krakow I would probably (if the price was the same) try and stay closer to the old town- less time travelling and more time for sightseeing and local cuisine. No reflection on the quality of the hotel - just can't change the geography of where it is situated.

    « FAB hotel! »

We stayed here for two nights in February and we absolutely loved it! Our room was clean and spacious.. the staff were friendly and polite. The staff could not do enough for us. They would greet you every time you returned to the hotel. The food in the restaurant was absolutley spectacular and reasonably priced. We decided to take an uber around the city as the hotel was a little way from the centre however it only cost around £5 british pounds! Overall a 5* experience we would definitely recommend and return in the future??

« Good value Basic hotel.easy to get into old town and bus to salt mines »

Room was basic and a bit tired but value for money.bathroom was clean.mine was blood red which was a bit weird but others in my group had different colours.staff are friendly and extremely helpful.breakfast was buffet.verywell stocked .slept well.tea and cofee facility in ropm

    « Very Clean Hotel »

Me and my better half just came home from our trip to Krakow, Stayed in this hotel 4 days - 3 nights, It's a lovely Modern Clean Hotel with friendly staff Throughout, The Guys on the Bar couldn't help me enough with any questions i had about Krakow while i Sat enjoying a Pint, One thing i must say is the Hotel is a bit away from Old Town & the Main Square BUT don't let this put you off as its only a Tram ride away which you can catch just at the end of the street, Me and the wife found it so easy once we made our 1st trip on the tram, You can get the number 8 or 10 Both ways, Once you get on look for the pay machine and select English look for the 20min ride which cost 2.80 ( 60p ) then slot it into the small yellow ticket box also in the Carriage, It's so easy and will save you a fortune on getting a taxi Everytime you leave the Hotel, We headed to the main Square, Jewish Quarter, And the ghetto twice a day for shopping and lunch and to just take in the beautiful buildings everywhere in Krakow, The tram saved us a Fortune, We had Breakfast each Morning and we paid for two evening meals at the hotel and i gotta say i couldn't fault the food any time we sat down to eat, I will definitely be booking this Hotel again nxt year when we're heading back over for another short break.. Thanks Everyone at the hotel for making our trip special and care free... 5stars..

« Just what we wanted »

Initially the hotel was a little further away from the centre of Krakow than what I thought but after a long day traveling the helpful receptionist took her time to explain the tram system to us so we could head out to the centre for some food and drinks. The tram stop is very close to the hotel and only around a 15 minute ride to get to the old town. The hotel is basic, as was the breakfast but as a base to explore from it did the job for us. The room was immaculately clean with the bed sheets changed everyday. 1 day we weren't given any towels so my boyfriend went down to reception to ask for some and were told someone would bring us some after 7pm (this was at 4:30pm) and with no explanation why we had to wait 2 and a half hours for towels we just had to head out for the night without showering other than that this hotel was perfect for a short couples stay in the city.

    « good hotel. »

The hotel was very clean, The rooms were lovely . nice comfy beds . Short tram ride into town . On the first night we were there we ate our evening in the hotel restaurant, One of my friends had a burger and chips and enjoyed it . my partner and I chose Chicken breast in cheese sauce, After waiting 30 minutes for the meal when we cut into the chicken breast it was raw in the middle . We sent it back and had a burger each instead. we then waited another 20 minutes for this to arrive , ( my partner does not have any type of sauce ) When I cut into my burger it was smothered in BBQ sauce which was oozing from out of the bun so I scraped it off and the middle of the burger was raw . I was so disgusted we just paid our bill ( which had been discounted ) and left . after that night we ate in Mcdonalds which is 5 minutes walk away from the hotel . I would recommend this hotel to everyone but do not have an evening meal there .

« Only its position lets it down »

The hotel is a basic, clean, friendly place, where we stayed for 2 nights. The check-in was easy, the receptionist spoke superb English and was extremely helpful. We would love to meet the architect to ask him (it has to be a bloke) why he put the lift in the furthest possible place from reception and why it doesn't go to the top floor - where our room happened to be!! The room itself was ok; small, but comfortable and clean. Sadly there wasn't a bath, only a shower with the smallest possible cubicle. No room to swing a cat and indeed impossible to turn around without banging the heat control which went from scalding hot to very cold with a movement of a couple of millimetres. Continental breakfast was ok, just the usual mix of things you would expect. The main issue is location as the hotel is a good 40 minutes walk from the main square. True you can get a taxi (25PLN) or a tram from just up the road (no, 8, 10 or 19) for a few zlotys but even so, it is a bit of a nuisance. So in summary there isn't anything to dislike about the hotel, but go prepared and take some comfortable shoes or factor in additional cash to cover the travel costs.

    « Perfect! »

wonderful hotel we has 3 days 2 nights here and it was wonderful - super fast check in - great reception staff and really nice room. very comfy bed , big clean modern bathroom and all very nicely decorated. great tea and coffee making unit in the bedroom and very very warm room .Breakfast was great so much to pick from and amazing coffee. very easy to get in to town - out the hotel left along the road on the number 3 or 8 Tram and you were in town in 10 min. you could not fault the location for access in to the town. only took 35 min to get to the airport as well . we had a great stay and loved it and will be back.

« Excellent stay in Krakow »

We stayed 3 nights at Best Western Galicya and although we had rented a car, public transport is very convenient for this hotel. The breakfast was excellent and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. There is a daily charge to park the car.

    « Great price »

Superbly clean, very helpful staff and very near to Krakow! Does what it says on the tin! Fantastic sized, bright although old fashioned but clean. Really enjoyed the stay there. Krakow is easily accessible on a very short tram ride and it stops just outside the hotel or an uber will cost you around 25-30 ?lotey

    « Great stay »

    « lovely hotel »

we stayed at this hotel for 4 days couldnt fault it food was continental but also scrambled egg or another day it was fried egg and polish sausage very tasty staff was very helpful rooms and bathroom were very clean bedding and towels were changed every day hairdryer kettle coffee sugar and bottled water was supplied no teabags but we brought our own milk we got from corner shop booked our trips through hotel on the down side hotel dont do currency although there is a ATM machine over the main road and theres nothing around hotel so you had to take tram to get to centre or taxi we ate in hotel on a night food was very good lovely hotel but wouldnt stay there again only reason being a bit to far out for us being pensioners

« Good base to visit Krakow. »

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Stayed on floor 3. Check in was swift- a lot quicker than other hotels I have stayed in. Room was comfortable and very clean. Shower good- powerful enough. Breakfast was continental but had scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereals, porridge etc. Tasty. We ate in hotel one evening after a long trip to Auschwitz/Birkenau.Steak was beautiful and reasonably priced. Hotel is out of city centre but tram stops outside of hotel up the treet. Number 8/10 takes you into Krakow. 19 takes you to Schindlers factory/Ghetto area. All in all,a good stay and would return here if visiting Krakow again.

« A good hotel on the outskirts of Krakow »

Stayed for 4 nights. Breakfast good, although stuck with toast and pancakes. Hotel reception staff all friendly and helpful. Rooms were incredibly hot, even in October! Had to put the heat down and open windows.... Tram stop really close and around a 10 min tram ride into town. On our first night there was a large school trip of teenagers which we concerned about due to the noise in the car park, however, they were really well behaved and quiet once inside the hotel. Would stay again.

    « Very good! »

It's not luxury! But you get what you pay for and it's a lovely clean hotel. The staff are very nice and the breakfast is perfectly acceptable! It's also a great base for exploring Kraków! I would definitely stay here again!

    « A good budget hotel »

I was on a tight budget so found it necessary to be out of the city centre. But the hotel is less than a 2 minute walk to the tram stop. The tram stop on the far side of the line is city bound. No 8 & 10 gets you in to the city in around 10 minutes, Wawel Castle is en route. 11 &19 gets you to Schindler's Factory Museum and then you can pick up tram 8 from there to city. A brilliant transport system. Bed is comfy, rooms clean, free bottled water, tv but little in the way of English channels, WiFi failed me. Breakfast good but after first morning I stayed with the cereal and continental as Polish cooked breakfast isn't to my taste. Great coffee and nice staff.

    « Pre- flight stop »

We stopped off at this hotel on the last night of our visit to Krakow and the Tatra Mountains. I chose this hotel because it was easy to get to with the hire car and there was plenty of free parking. It's a bit south of the river and the area is not as pleasant as the centre, but it is safe and I've seen far worse. The tram stop is very close and the tram system is easy and cheap - line 8 or 10 for the centre - the ride only takes about 15 minutes. The hotel is clean and modern, the rooms are quiet, the staff are very helpful and the breakfast was varied and plentiful; the scrambled eggs are as good as any I have had, and that is always a good sign. Have given it 4 overall, which is, if anything, a bit harsh.

« Friendly and clean hotel »

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, hotel is very clean and comfortable. The hotel is also in a quiet area. Although not in the centre of Kraków, it is a short walk to the tram which takes you into Kraków. There was plenty of choice of food at breakfast. There are parking spaces available. It is easy to get to Kraków airport and the main road from the hotel.

    « I loved it here! »

The front desk representatives were incredibly friendly, the complementary breakfast buffet was amazing (there was always sausage, soft scrambled eggs, yogurt, and assortment of Polish sauces and dips, cereal, fruit, vegetables, bread), the rooms were quaint, charming and incredibly clean. The restaurant served delicious food, like perfectly cooked salmon with beets. I also encountered friendly guests from all over Europe. I loved it here!

    « Kraków »

Hotel a little out of centre 10mins on no 8 tram very clean , restaurant meals excellent suitable for couples cheap travel tickets available on tram and should be valiated . Visited the salt mines beautiful Lots of walking visited auschwtitz the guide was excellent very moving experience a must for everyone the centre was vibrant visited the Engima bar also the Film cafe the polish dumplings well worth trying enjoyed

    « Basic »

Stayed here in sept clean hotel staff friendly. 2 min walk to trams . Cheaper on trams and taxis. To main krakow town . Only problem was bar at night shuts at 10pm . If you like being away from main town it's ok. . Bit I would next time stay in a hotel in krakow Town . Mainly for walking distance and not wanting to be in bed by 10pm

    « Spotless »

Stayed here for 4 nights in august, rooms are spotless including bathroom, found the shower abit small, beds were made every day and fresh bottles of water were left in your room daily, the reception staff were brilliant answered any queries you had they also spoke fluent english, tram stop a minute up the road,we bought a 24hr ticket which cost 15 zlottys, there is also a mcdonalds &supermarket 5mins from the hotel, only had breakfast at the hotel so dont know what the meals are like,we got a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost 80 zlottys the hotel organized this for us, the hotel is about 10mins on the tram to the city centre, they run every 15mins,no8 takes you to the centre, definitely go back to this hotel, krakow itself is a beautiful place

    « Love this hotel! »

As we were travelling around Europe, we spent 7 days in this hotel. I must say that we are surprised! Rooms are spotless, bathrooms are clean and every day we got two bottles of water -sparkling and still. Breakfast was all right with a choice for everyone. Cleaning ladies are very polite and they are doing their job perfectly! Reception staff-veeeeery helpfull!!! Tram station is literally 1 minute by foot from the hotel. Sit on tram no.8 i 79 and you will be in the centre of Krakow in less than 10 minutes. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. See you for New Year! Greetings from Croatia!

    « Well placed Hotel »

We were looking for a good hotel that offered secure parking for the motorbikes and not too far from the city centre. This hotel filled the bill. It was a ten minute tram ride into town, the stop being a 2 minute walk away. The hotel was very clean and well presented and the staff were extremely helpful with a number of queries we had. We only ate breakfast at the hotel as we dined out every night but the breakfast was a good selection and well presented and cooked.

« Fantastic stay in Krakow »

We stayed at the Hotel Galicya for 4 nights in July & were travelling with my parents. We've stayed in a Best Western hotel before so had an idea of the standards they have & I have to say we were more than impressed when we arrived here. The receptionist who was on duty was incredibly friendly & helpful & happily answered all of the questions we had. The check in procedure was simple & efficient & we were pleased to discover we had been given rooms next door to one another - perfect when you're travelling as a group. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that there were tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms (We stayed in Rooms 215 & 216) & taken aback to discover there were also 2 bottles of water for us (1 sparkling, 1 still) We thought this might have been a "welcome to our hotel" type of thing but every day we were there, the bottles were replaced. The rooms themselves were clean & modern with spotless bedding & controllable air conditioning which was a blessing. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean & there was hair/body wash in the shower - perfect if you're travelling light & don't want to take your own toiletries (unless you're fussy like me lol) Breakfast was included in our booking & we were more than happy with the options that were available. There was a selection of cereals with plenty of toppings (raisins, coconut, sunflower seeds) Porridge was also available along with fresh fruit. There was a choice of cooked foods (eggs, sausages & my favourite, pancakes!!) There was also the typically European selection of breads, cheeses, cold meats & salad. I honestly think there was something for everyone. We didn't use the hotel restaurant at all so cannot make any comment on the meals or the drinks at the bar. The hotel was just a couple of minutes walk from the tram stop & the number 8 tram took you straight to the main square. We bought a 2 day travel pass & it was just £5 per person. On the first night we got a taxi into town which cost £4.50 for the 4 of us. We were going to get the tram back after our night out but there was a heavy storm so we jumped into a taxi. Please bear in mind that the prices are slightly more after 10pm - we paid £9 for the 4 of us - still so much cheaper than the UK. The hotel had lots of maps available & were happy to highlight the best tram stops & the best sights to see. To sum it up, we couldn't fault the hotel in any way. If you choose to stay here (unless you're very picky) I don't think you'll be disappointed.

    « Nice service »

I stayed there as part of a business trip, and it was really ideal for this. The hotel is in a very quiet location, which is very relaxing after a tiring day. The breakfasts were fine and the personnel was very much service-minded: eager to help with anything and to suggest best things to see and to do. I was picked up and taken back from/to the hotel by my business partners, but I noticed very good transport options around the location. A slow walk will take you to the downtown in around 20 minutes, so if you are in Krakow to explore the city, this should be fine :)

    « A pleasant stay »

Check-in and check-out very quick and efficient. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Quite near stop for tram number 8 for ten minute trip to centre of town. Rooms were clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facility and also free water (both sparkling and still). Overall a nice hotel and ideal for five day stay. No bar service after 10pm.

    « basic but ok »

stayed here for a weekend with friends, the location is ok, only about a 5 min taxi right into the centre of Krakow, rooms are basic but clean, the breakfast isn't the best, cold meats and bread, the only hot food while we was there was hot dog sausages and scrambled eggs, but overall if I was in Krakow again I wouldn't mind staying here. for the price we paid I was pleased

    « just about acceptable »

Just stayed here with a group of friends. There was also a school party and some Brits on a drinking binge weekend. I guess that says it all. The good points: Fast check in / out. Clean rooms The not so good: Hard towels Soft Mattresses No bath - just a basic shower cubicle The view of the industrial / commercial estate The location - it's a 30 minute walk through a run down area into the old town The dog barking at night The (very) poor breakfast - made up of cheap ingredients - processed cheese slices etc.... Krakow itself is an interesting place to visit - but there will be dozens of better places to stay even at comparable prices.

    « Basic but ok »

Well it has clean but basic rooms, bathrooms ok. Breakfast buffet is not well presented and the frankfurters and eggs need replenishing each time and you have to wait five mins or so for them to do so! The tram stop is close by, and 15 mins into Kraków centre for only 2.80 zloty!

« Nice atmosphere, poor food. »

Rooms were average, standard hotel room. Bathrooms were clean and nice. The hotel from the outside was very nice looking as well. But the food was terrible. The only thing I had there was cereal and the soup at night. Lucky we went to shops in the day to buy food, otherwise I would of been very hungry for the whole trip

    « Clean, friendly staff »

The staff were very friendly and helpful and able to answer any questions I had, the rooms were all kept clean and breakfast was filling and gave a lot of variety. Although the hotel is not in the centre of town a tram stop is located just outside the hotel allowing easy access into the town.

    « Excellent weekend break »

Our flights were delayed and we didn't arrive until after midnight. The welcome was warm and swift. The room was very clean, functional and spacious. Very warm and cosy given the cold grey skies outside. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Great choice of cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts, breads, cereals and hot cooked eggs and sausages- not to mention pancakes! Great location cost around £3 to the centre in a taxi. Great budget hotel. Well worth it!

    « Weekend stay »

We booked to go to Krakow as part of a travel agent booking, the hotel was allocated to us on booking. The hotel is fine, clean, friendly staff, the breakfast buffet is stocked with plenty of choice and fantastic coffee. Bedroom was small but you are only using it to sleep so that's fine, ours had two single beds but we just pushed them together. It's a little out of town as others have said but the public transport network in Krakow is great, get either the number 8 or 10 tram from just outside the hotel and you are in the town in about 10 minutes, other trams take you to other places but for the main square 8 or 10 are the ones you want. Enjoy.

« NOT UP TO MUCH »

We ended up here as part of a 2 night package break The hotel is a good 15 to 20 minute taxi drive to the town centre around £6. Twin bedded rooms are pokey to say the least 2 beds which are at different ends of the room not even side by side , mind you the rooms are so small they wouldn't have fitted. There is no room safe or air con or fridge. The desk manager on Sunday night the 20th November is so rude I wouldn't have enough space on here to write it all down. We thought the breakfast was very poor although there was plenty of selection it was awfully prepared. Runny scrambled eggs, stiff fried eggs like frisbees and hotdog sausages undercooked instead of normal sausages etc .. We wouldn't stay here again. We have stayed in around 20 Best Westerns over the years and it's been of a pretty good standard this is I would say is on the lower side of average. There are loads of better hotels of the same rating and of similar cost which are nearer the town centre.

    « Great little hotel »

Staff very knowledgable, rooms well kept and clean. Menu for evening meal not great but lots of places down town to eat. Breakfast was great choice. Tram stop 2 minute walk. Wifi included in price. All in all a good budget hotel.

« Simple, clean and low budget hotel »

New hotel, clean and well equipped. Good breakfast and kind and effective staff. Basic services sufficient parking lot. Location - out of city center. Fits the 3 stars ranking. Good place for business trip with low budget or tourist groups.

« Modern clean - located away from town centre »

Nice modern hotel. Very clean, lots of glass, so light and airy. It's located away from the Krakow centre, but nearby trams whisk you in in around 10-12 minutes ( very cheap, clean and efficient ). Hotel room, standard modern design. Free water and the shower was so powerful! Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold - tasty polish sausage...mmmmmmmm. The coffee machine produced a good cup, but seemed to need frequent attention e.g. water out, or needed emptying. The staff were helpful and helped us organise trips as required. Nice hotel, but I will look for something more central next time.

    « Would stay again »

Really nice hotel, clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. We forgot our plug and they even let us one. It's far enough from town but if you catch the number 8 tram it takes about 5 mins to town and it cost about 20p! Trams run every 8 mins. Easier to do than a taxi by far! Recommend this to anyone, we are planning on coming back for Christmas market. Stay here :)))

    « Krakow »

The hotel is of a good standard for the price, the staff are very helpful and my room was spotless, The tram system is only a few metres away and trams are regular, the hotel staff will call a taxi for you and on the couple of times we did that it arrived within five minutes

    « Nice hotel »

    « Lovely two nights »

I stayed at this hotel with my 5 year old daughter ( who is a clean freak ) and the moment we arrived late on a rainy night, it felt from home to home. The fastest check in I ever experienced in my travelling life ( literally took les than five minutes) and we were tucked in our bed. All the staff were very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate our needs - from lending us umbrella for all our stay to it calling our local tour organiser when they were running late. We had lovely breakfast the girls at the restaurant were so friendly especially with my daughter. If a hotel can be rated 5* simply for their friendliest and service, then this hotel deserves a 5*.

    « No complaints »

You get what you pay for and this wasn't bad at all. Breakfast was good, bar was plentiful, rooms clean but sparse. Note that this is not town centre though - but only 70p on tram which stops right outside or £5 in a cab to the Market Square - or about an hour to walk. Staff very helpful and pleasant and pretty good value for money.

    « Great stay »

A group of us went to visit Auschwitz (1hr drive) and stayed here for 2 nights. 15/20 mins in the (hire) cat from the airport and very close to the tram stops for a 10min journey into Krokow (3.80 zloty). The reception staff were extremely helpful and polite. The rooms were just what you'd expect; spacious, clean and relatively modern. We ate breakfast (average continental) but didn't have any other meals as Krakow old city is too nice and cheap not to enjoy the evening in the square. I would certainly stay there again if I were to visit krakow again.

    « Stag do weekend »

Decent hotel, breakfast not great, decent bar, taxi ride into town less than £5, cheap and cheerful place, a lamp blew off the window ledge in the wind cost us £30! Other than that- no complaints, Kraków itself is a lovely place you could easily go with the wife and have a great time too!

« Nice hotel, nice staff »

Great little hotel, although a little tricky to see!! Our sat nav took us the right way however right up untill the final turn I thought it had taken me wrong. It's tucked down a little road that almost looks like a business estate, but I didnt mind that as we had driven there from uk and that meant the car park was out the way and it was secured by barriers anyway. The staff were great, very helpful and I wish I remembered the name of the lady who really helped us. (She had short, cropped blonde hair) and I'm sure my partner and I were annoying tourists in wanting to print out everything and need the computer alot but even when they broke she helped us out so I cannot praise her enough. The room was nice, comfortable bed and clean and tidy and came with tea and coffee. We didn't have dinner there, but the breakfast was lovely!! Just a continental breakfast buffet type thing but all cooked and prepared well. Location is a little far out from the main town but with what we paid for the hotel itself, not a bad trade off. Would stay again.

« BEST is the correct descriptive! »

I was not expecting much for our £45 a night (including breakfast) accommodation...but boy, was I surprised! Fabulous hotel with clean pristine big rooms (we booked 3 singles) but we're allocated 3, TV, hairdryer, complimentary water x 2, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel etc. Receptionist really friendly and efficient who booked our day trips with real pleasure and was always happy to advise us on virtually anything! Breakfast is a veritable feast...even if you are a vegan! I hope other hotels in this chain have the same standards!

    « Terrible experience »

We spent two nights there and it was really terrible. A group of 100 young students has been also accommodated in the hotel. They were yelling, singing and making other noise in the hotel after midnight so it was impossible to sleep. We called the reception three times but they were not able to ensure the silence. After a sleepless night the worst was to come. In the morning we met arrogant, rude, unpleasant receptionist Dorota who did not care about our problem at all. We were really shocked with her behavior and wanted to speak with a manager. She promised to arrange a meeting after breakfast but then she called director Anna herself and she did not allow us to speak with her. Nobody did not help us. I don´t know if it is a hotel policy that the guests could not speak with the management or only Dorota doesn´t want it because she was scared we would complain about her behavior. She ruined our holidays.

    « Best Avoided »

The type of hotel best avoided. Antiquated, badly in need of upgrading and redecorating. Staff do their best but an awful hotel in the middle of suburbia is still the worst hotel. No air conditioning, strange bed arrangements, and only place to eat, except for restaurant is McDonalds across the road. This hotel is best avoided at all costs.

    « Very nice hotel »

This hotel exceeded my expectations. In almost every area. The only thing i would say is the beer garden overlooks the car park. It would be nicer if there was a bit nicer scenery to look at. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable although a little on the small side. It was in the mid 20's one evening and the fan provided in the room was good enough to keep us cool. The food was good and although most of the Polish options weren't to our taste, there was plenty of other options to have a go at. E.g. Pancakes with toffee sauce was one of my favorites. Or scrambled egg on toast, cereal just to mention a few. There Is an off licence/grocery store just a couple of minutes away. A larger 'Biedronka' super market is situated about ten minutes down the road next to a mc Donalds and an Italian/ polish restaurant. All these establishments are relatively very cheap for most things compared to British prices. The tram is 280 z each way approx 58P and come every 20 mins. The tram system can be quite confusing at first but once you get used to it its OK. You can buy your ticket on the tram. The ticket machine gives change if you don't have the correct change and you then need to validate the ticket in the yellow machines on the tram which print on the date and time.

    « Two night break »

Stayed for two nights to use it as a base for auschiwtz and the salt mine. Salt mine was less than half hour and auscwitz about one hour 20 mins by taxi. Hotel was spotless and modern, reception staff friendly and speak good English. Buffet breakfast was nice with lots of choice, cereals, fruit, bread, meats, polish sausages and scrambled egg etc, cake etc. Location not the best as a little isolated from shops and restaurants. Would not recommend eating here in the evening, poor quality food, poor choice and service, cold food served by an unfriendly waiter. On plus side wi fi works fine.

    « Short Break. »

Stayed 3 nights, overall found it to be very good. Located slightly out of Krakow centre but this is not a problem, tram system very close and cheap, Nos 8 and 70 get you into town in approx 15 mins. Buffet breakfast was of a good standard being tasty and enjoyable. Travel to Salt Mines by bus No. 304,which can be caught just down the road from hotel, is also very cheap and quick. Rooms are of a good size, they are not air conditioned however they do have large fans which managed to keep the room cool even in the 38 degree temperatures which existed during my stay. Reception staff found to be very helpful.

« Out of the town centre, but excellent tram links »

We booked this hotel due to being central between Krakow and our friends. We were greeted by a young receptionist who promptly sorted out our rooms and told us all about the bar and restaurant opening times. We made our way to our rooms and were pleasantly surprised at how clean the rooms were. Breakfasts were good (included in the deal) and the waitresses were constantly checking and fe-filling the dishes to ensure freshness. Bar prices here, compared to the UK, are approximately half what you would pay at home. Housekeeping is second to none - clean bedding and towels on a daily basis. The instant coffee on the trays is pretty strong!!!! Having stayed at some Best Western Hotels in the UK, I feel that the UK staff should spend a week in the Hotel Galycia to see how customer service should be done!! Cannot praise this hotel high enough. All staff spoke English either fluently or conversational. Made a few bookings for tours with reception which were excellent. Overall this hotel only really lacks air conditioning in the rooms, other than that it is excellent.

« good hotel, dobry hotel »

hotel s dobrym pomerem cena vykon, pokoj cisty a snidane s dobrou nabidkou, otestovana i restaurace na veceri a zklaman jsem nebyl, gastrozazitek to ovsem nebyl. pokoj cisty s doplnenym servisem ovsem bez minibaru ci lednicky. trosku horsi dosah wifi na zadnich pokojich. room clean and everythink fullfill. without bar or fridge, with slower wifi

« Great Service- good location »

I stayed at Best Western Galicya, Krakow, for 3 nights, and would highly recommend it to other travelers. First and foremost- outstanding service! The staff there really takes care of their guests- they were very helpful with all of my travel inquiries, and prepared a "breakfast bag" on the day I left since I had an early flight. Second, the hotel is located 20 min on a tram from the city center, and the tram stop is within 2 min of walking. It was quite conveniet for me, as I normally leave a hotel for a day. If i were to return to Krakow, I would definitely stay at this hotel, and again, would recommend it to others.

    « Not recommended... »

I booked and prepaid a room with a king-sized bed but at checkin I was given a room with two tiny single beds with the argument that the hotel was almost fully booked. In the end they respected the reservation details and I changed rooms. There are NO ceiling fans (booking sites description are WRONG) and rooms are NOT air conditionned. From May to October be prepared to sleep in a sauna! You will have to sleep with your window open, the outside noise will distract you and you will not sleep! You have been warned.... The blackout curtains did not fit the window...the room was very bright at 5am. The liquid soaps in the bathroom are of very low quality with an aweful fragrance. I hated my stay.....except for the basic buffet breakfast in the air-conditionned restaurant.

    « Short break »

Great hotel for the price.. a few things need attension safety deposit box would not work they did send a man up to look at it but it could not be fixed. Breakfast needs more attention cereal is left uncovered and with the heat and flying insects not very hygienic ..all in other than little things its a lovely hotel clean and great size room and quiet staff are very Pleasant and welcoming yes i would stay here again and would hope they would consider offering a fresh cooked breakfast option at an extra cost ofcourse

« Wonderfull staff. Overall good hotel. »

Stayed two nights in May. Staff at the front desk and restaurant were very helpful. Ms. Violeta booked an excursion to Auschwitz and gave us plenty of information on how to navigated the historical and beautiful old town of Krakow. The hotel room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is very close to the old town, only a few stops taking the # 8 tram. There is a Mcdonalds very close to the hotel and in back Mcdonalds there is a pizza restaurant. Not many places for meals near the hotel but we did try the hotel restaurant and were very pleased. If I find myself in Krakow in the future I will gladly stay at this nice hotel.

« Helpful staff nice hotel »

Overall experience was VG, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Slightly out of the centre but tram links into town are every 10 mins so wasn't a problem. Room was clean beds comfy would stay here again.

    « Good hotel »

Little far away from the main square. Its a distance about seven minutes by tram. The tram station is close to the hotel. The breakfast was good. The stuff were kind and they helped us. Our three persons room was very good. I suggest to put a refrigerator in the rooms. We spent a lovely time there !

« A little outside of the city, but pleasant hotel »

Pleasant helpful staff ,clean rooms, comfortable beds ,Dorota was very helpful with tram information and breakfast pack when leaving very early in the morning.Reasonably priced ( being my wife only booked herself in and Dorota quickly resolved the problem!) choice on the buffet breakfast was adequate ,good coffee and fresh juice, plenty to set up for the day.wifi was a bit of a dropout now and again but it's free and does work!

    « Nice friendly staff »

Hotel was a little far out the town centre , room was clean and tidy the staff were very helpful and nice, breakfast was disappointing wasn't to my taste but I will eat any thing put in front of me but couldn't eat the scrabbled eggs which were under cooked every day and hot dog type of spicy sausages . But cereal and toast as much as you could eat, don't think I would recommend this hotel

    « Value hotel »

Just come back from a 3 night stay yesterday from this hotel friendly and helpful staff room clean breakfast very good and we had a meal in the hotel it was excellent little out of Kraków but number 8 tram gets you there in about 8 min would use it again

« Doskona?y hotel i znajduje si? blisko tramwajowe (good hotel) »

Stayed here for one night in February. Lovely hotel, good rooms, decent food for breakfast and friendly staff. It's slightly out of the city centre, but access there is via the tramway, which is only 150 metres from hotel reception. There's not much happening in the area where it's located (it's mainly retail and industry), but the journey to the city centre is approximately 12 minutes. Would stay here again if visiting Kraków. It was excellent value for what we paid.

« Best value for money »

The hotel is not centrally located but it's well connected with city centre. We had a good bargain for the night around NYE. The persons at reception were always very kind and helpful. Consider that if you arrive by car you should pay around 15 € per night for the parking space in front of hotel

    « Great hotel »

It was a short visit for 3 days but the staff was great. The hotel was really nice even if there is just 3 stars. The restaurant was really good too. It was about 2-3 kilometers from the old town but with the trams you can easily go everywhere.

    « Great Hotel »

Stayed here the 1st week of November with a friend, we asked for a twin room but got more of a king size bed with 2 seperate covers/pillows. It was fine and there was alot of space. Very clean room & bathroom. Hotel was quiet but I would imagine it would be alot busier in the summer months, room was quite hot but we could open the windows to let some cold air in. Only ate lunch at the restaurant once but it was fine enough and went for breakfast everyday, not the greatest choice but still good. Staff are really friendly and helpful, when we arrived the receptionist told us all we needed to know, she provided us with a map, told us where we can get a bus/tram, where best to go for dinner/drinks etc. All in all a great hotel and would certainly return.

    « A conveniently situated and well-run comfortable hotel. »

My wife and I spent 4 days in the Galicya Hotel earlier this month. The hotel itself is located a short tram ride from the old town of Krakow and has tram stops within a 2 minutes from reception. It is an efficiently run hotel with very helpful staff who are prepared to go out of their way to provide unusual assistance (for instance, by contacting the tram authority on our behalf when a ticket machine swallowed our 100-zloty note without disgorging either a ticket or any change!). The restaurant provides good wholesome food at very reasonable prices. I recommend the hotel to other visitors to Krakow.

    « exelent »

after i read reviews about this hotel i was ready to ask for update on arrival, but staff insisted first to see room i was planing to spend 7 days, and i was amazed by size which was huge, and i read complaint about rail noise and funny my windows were facing rail and...i heard nothig..only like a thunder i a far far distance, basicly nothing was true what i read in here. Room was hot even outside was -1 degrees.

    « NIce Place »

Nice, clean and tidy room, tasty food, very friendly and helpful staff. A Birthday treat for my Husband. Breakfast is good. The location little far from center but with good public transportation (tram 8). A bit noise at the front, due to the location of the room just above the entrance to the hotel. NO Bath in room.

    « Amazing place »

Nice, clean and tidy room, tasty food, very friendly and helpful staff, we had a great time here. Thank you for all staff who was working when we been there ?? Everything was perfect and the prices was absolutely correct not too cheap, but not expensive and also worse every penny. I wish to go back again.

« Strongly recommended, Kind staff, clean room, decent food, perfect location »

I stayed in this hotel from Aug 25th to Sep 1st this year. First of all, staff is extremely kind. They always asked me is there anything I want. And whenever i asked about simple Polish or recommendable local restaurants, they answered me with kindness and passion. Thanks to one of staff, I could enjoy a great dinner in Kazimierz. Second, Location is really great. There is a tram station near by hotel(2 minutes on foot?) and u can take 3 or 4 tram lines there. It will take u to city center in 10~15 minutes. Oh, supermarket and pharmacy is near by too! Room was good. It was beyond my expectation. Staff offered room clean service earlier than scheduled time if i requested. The only thing I felt sorry for was that there was no AC in my room. There was a fan though :D Breakfast was free, good and kind of English breakfast.(Rich and moist scrambled egg was Extremely good..thanks for that..) Oh, and u can order food from 2 pm to 10 pm. Except pierogi, all food i had was great. i strongly recommend this hotel to other tourists. p.s. See u in upcoming January! (yeap, I'm a Korean boy with short hair :D)

« Good location, nice stuff, hot and noisy »

We stayed 3 nights last August. The stuff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. The location little far from center but with good public transportation (tram 8). During the nights a lot of noise from outside. Car races around 3AM??? The room was also very hot...

« Only the basics, suitable for cheap and short stay »

Nice staff, decent breakfast. Rooms were clean in general, except for a small decorative pillow on the beds that was really dirty. I'd prefer not having a decorative pillow than having a gross one. On our third night a school arrived, and the kids and the rooms next to us were making a lot of noise, and they kind of reimbursed us by free parking (otherwise it was 20 zl per day). Wi-fi was bad in our rooms, but fast in the restaurant and reception. The basic cons were the difficult access to our rooms from the elevator, since it was on an upper level by about 5 stair steps, that made it difficult to carry heavy luggage. Also, for people staying there in the summer, there is no air-condition in the rooms.
