Best Western Hibiscus Motel

The Hibiscus Motel is Key West's best kept secret. It offers an affordable option but does not lack on what it has to offer. Great location for us, away from the craziness of Duval. It has spacious rooms, clean, and the staff is extremely helpful. Will has always made us feel like we were at home.

This was our second time visiting Key West and our second time staying at this hotel. Our room was large, with 2 queen sized beds, fridge and microwave. The shower was good and we had 2 sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside. We also had a large closet, comfy beds, and a very nice outdoors pool. Breakfast was typical of most Best Westerns, but seating is limited if you eat indoors. This hotel is located a very walkable distance from all Duval Street locations, including Mallory Park and the Southernmost Point.

Nice outdoor heated pool- big enough for many to enjoy in a private area from the crowd or noise. Breakfast was hot, nice variety and well served. Loved the size of the room but was upstairs- no elevator!

Large rooms, everything kept very clean and pretty, beautiful pool, nice breakfast included - about a block off of Duvall Street - quiet location. Free on site parking. We've been going about ten years in a row now to Key West and always stay at the BW Hibiscus - cannot be beat!

We chose this hotel for our first trip to Key West because of the familiarity of Best Western and the location on the island. We took a taxi from the airport and spent our time walking around to all the sights and restaurants we wanted to see (with the exception of Dry Tortugas NP). It's only a block off of Duval, but it's the quieter end of Duval. Still, there were plenty of restaurants nearby, a bike/scooter/cart rental place A&M, and Southernmost Point is only a couple of blocks away. The staff at the Hibiscus was friendly and helpful, getting us a taxi for our excursion, and answering questions as needed. And the hotel is nicely updated, but still has an old school vibe - the pool area looks like a Hollywood set from the golden age of cinema - and there is a nice variety of shaded areas for those of us who are not used to the Florida sun

We had a fantastic stay at the Best Western Hibiscus. It's everything you would want, and more. Great location and pool, and very reasonable prices for February which starts their busy season. Property is kept very clean and staff is very helpful to your every need. Can't go wrong booking this well kept Best Western property. Within walking distance to everything. Complimentary breakfast is included daily and the room size is quite large.

We have been coming to Key West for several years and when we found the Hibiscus a year -- maybe two now -- we were stunned at how good a value it was compared to every other place we stayed in the past and the shopping around we've done. The front end staff is incredibly helpful -- a special call out to the day manager -- who assisted us with transportation, etc. They even made some dollar saving recommendations.

Our stay was wonderful, and I highly recommend this motel! The rooms were very spacious and clean. The location was perfect to the Southernmost point and Duval St. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety. Staff was very friendly and helpful! The pool was clean and beautiful.

I found this a great location to ride the free city bus plus numerous restaurants in the area. Staff was very helpful on the area and transportation. Parking was always available for us and YES, I would return.

Wonderful experience staying at the Best Western Hibiscus Motel! Conveniently located to major Key West attractions and restaurants. A delicious breakfast available every morning that you can enjoy eating sitting by their large, clean pool. Staff is helpful and go out of their way to make your stay with them a pleasant experience. Rooms are clean and very large and I see no reason why I would not stay there again!

I was unable to make the reservation due to inclement weather and the transportation company canceled all trips to Key West. I called the hotel and they said “too bad.” I left messages for the manager to call me and they never called. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Check-in is very easy and quick. Will at the front desk is a wonderful person willing to answer any questions or provide help. Great variety of breakfast foods. Pool area is very comfortable. Parking is plentiful for cars and bikes, Great location with easy walk to water and sunset views, the Southern most Point and restaurants.

We had another fabulous stay the the BW Hibiscus. I have been staying here since 2007 and have never had a bad experience. This stay was no different, the rooms are large, very clean and well maintained as are the grounds and all common areas. Check in was super easy, and the front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Will at the front desk is a rockstar, he absolutely went above and beyond to make sure that we could stay in the same room for the duration of our stay after I had to book multiple reservations due to using points for reward nights. That was really amazing and most appreciated. I am waiting for the booking window to open up for the same week next year so I can book our trip back.

My wife and I got to the hotel around one pm. We were greeted by Will at the front desk. He was extremely welcoming. Told us that the room would be ready around 3 pm and suggested that we leave the car parked in the parking lot and go walk around Duval street, the Main Street, and have fun. He also gave us suggestion on what we could do. During our, alas, just one day stay, we were either the recipients of Will's hospitality or observed him helping others. We determined that Will is all about making guests happy. Other staff members were also wonderful, including Tasha and the breakfast lady. Our second floor room, overlooking the pool, was clean and comfortable. And, hooray, everything worked. Breakfast was okay. The usual. We did like the eggs being whole. We would definitely stay here again.

I can't say enough good things about The Hibiscus. The room was large, especially for a "standard" room, and very clean. No musty smells or mold, like we had at another place in Key West. The staff were incredibly nice, including allowing us to leave our luggage up front and use the pool when we arrived early. The location is excellent--at the quiet end of Duval St--everything was easily walkable, but no loud late evening noise. We will definitely stay there again.

Far exceeded my expectations. The room was very large and comfortable. We had a walking shower with the requested shower chair requested online. The a/c kept the room comfortable. Location was ideal. The hotel is on the Duval Bus loop.

Whirlwind 2 days,but we did it all! Drinking, dancing ,beach, pool, food! Quiet location, walking distance to Old Town, over a mile,but lots to see in between.Good breakfast selections, pool is a great size

Fantastic Service and Location. Staff extremely helpful, Wil,in particular, gave us great suggestions of places and restaurants. Called taxis to pick us up. Place is well run and clean. Heard fellow traveler compliment Breakfast Staff on cleanliness and food. Absolutely agree. Definite recommend and would return.

Great front desk staff especially Will. We have stayed here in the past and was very pleased to see all the updates on the rooms and property. Great location and walkable to main Duval Street entertainment center, however, may be challenging for some. Our room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The only issue was breakfast we tried several different times the first morning to get something to eat but other guests set up camp (haha) and took over room...not much left to choose from...but did get a cup of coffee. We appreciate no resort or parking fees that other hotels in the area charge. Thank you for a great stay.

We were greeted very nicely and our room was large, cool and immaculate. The bed was comfortable and everything was in order. Daily housekeeping was provided! The lady did a complete job and mopped the entire room too. The pool area is wonderful but I think it could get crowded at times. We enjoyed our breakfast poolside since the inside area is tight. The attendant restocked, cleaned and assisted guests continuously. A couple blocks from Duval St and about a 30 minute walk to Mallory Square. Nice quite neighborhood with restaurants close by. I will return and completely recommend this Best Western. Our stay was perfect.

Room was user friendly. Furniture was comfortable and suitable for family stay. The room WI-FI was helpful to stay in touch with family and work. The saltwater pool was inviting clean and extremely enjoyable. Location was close to beaches and local attractions.

This hotel comes highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again! The location is superb and there is plenty of well-lit parking for guests. The property is clean and the staff is FABULOUS! We loved walking through the lobby and seeing smiling faces especially Angie. :-) And the beds slept so well! I could say more but I'll leave you with this...STAY HERE!

Very high quality for the price. Great value. Could not find any reason to be not happy. This place is a well maintained and well managed facility, which is difficult to find now a days. I have paid more at places in Key West and received terrible services. NOT THIS PLACE.

Pool was very clear and clean. The hotel was very clean in the room was spotless. Breakfast was a huge variety and very clean from other places. We will be going back next year. It's right next to Duval Street and you can walk everywhere from here!

This place was perfect for us. It's a small, quiet and clean hotel. The location is great with most places in walking distance especially Ana's Cuban coffee and the Tipsy Rooster. The rooms are quite spacious with a small refrigerator, microwave, 2 sink areas and a large closet. The beds are very comfortable. There is a nice breakfast included with your stay. I really like that the pool is in the center of the hotel, so it feels private from the passerby. There were a few ants in our bathroom but they were taken care of immediately after notifying the front desk. We have stayed at numerous expensive hotels in Key West but won't do that again!! This place is great!!

Girls trip to the keys and we loved this place! It was clean and quiet and close to activities but not too close. We enjoyed staying at a small place that was well kept up. We could walk to most things in Key West but we're not right on top of all the bars, etc. it was perfect! We had a few small ants by the bathroom but told the front desk and they took care of it. Our room was spacious and the beds and bedding were great!

Lovely little motel In key west! Great location as away from the craziness but close enough to walk there. Rooms lovely and big, bathrooms lovely and big. Clean and lovely swimming pool. Breakfast was fine too. We'll write staying if on a budget! Didn't feel like a budget hotel at all!

Great place to stay! Within walking distance to everything. Store right down the street. A block off Duval Street. Southernmost point is around the corner! Great experience!!! Whatever you're looking for, it's nearby. Plenty of restaurants and bars very close. Shopping right down the street!

Really great hotel. Nice pool, clean room, friendly staff at reception, good breakfast. I was worried about the parking but there were plenty of spaces. Location was good - was in walking distance to main attractions and Higgs beach (which was a disappointment) Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel though.

We have stayed at Best Western in Key West multiple times over the last few years. It is an amazing value for the money; the rooms are clean and spacious; the air conditioning is top-notch; the breakfast spread is plentiful; the front desk staff is friendly and accommodating; and the location can't be topped!

NOW that I have your attention with the title of the review, THIS is why I have used TripAdvisor for decades ... the reviewers on this site ALWAYS lead me to the right hotels, restaurants, and locations to visit! Based on previous reviews I immediately booked this property without hesitation. My wife and I appreciated the location near the less crowded Atlantic end of Duval Street. We took full advantage of the restaurants in the immediate area, but also did not hesitate to make the walks down Duval Street (about 13-14 blocks) to the Gulf end. The staff was great from start to finish! We arrived early, were given a GREAT suggestion for lunch, and when we returned we received our room. Since we were checking in early, almost immediately there was a knock at our door ... maintenance had been completed in our room prior to our arrival and the staff member wanted to make sure everything was clean and ready for us. Previous reviews tell you the rest: free parking, Wi-Fi available, large rooms, great swimming pool/courtyard area with plenty of seating, breakfast provided daily, excellent front desk staff ALWAYS on duty. This property is an older facility, but it is well loved ... they have provided updates as best as possible. I only mention this for individuals who require newer properties with all of the bells and whistles. The only other item worth mentioning is that the breakfast is available from 7 am to 10 am. It is a small area with overflow out to the courtyard area, but my recommendation would be to eat early while there is ample room to navigate all of the breakfast offerings.

This is a modest and dated motel, but it seems well maintained and works out well in a very expensive Key West. The motel appears well-run, with an excellent location to walk around old town and most southern point. Nothing much to write home about, the motel is relatively good value for a short stay in key west. One small issue is the room air freshener they use (to mask the old smell?) is too strong at first and unpleasant. For its category (one star), I would give it a very good for its good value and efficient proposition.

We chose this hotel for our 4 night stay based on many rave reviews. Our experience was mixed, however. My ratings would be the following: -Cleanliness 7/10. While our room was very clean, the shower needs updating. The water temperature also was inconsistent and switched to freezing at random. In a climate where you'll probably shower 1-2x a day....the experience should be refreshing/ enjoyable. The room did smell a little musty but it wasn't overpowering for us. -Space and comfort 7/10. While the room is spacious with plenty of storage, it is a no-frills room. Most odd was the placement of the toilet paper roll, which is not within a comfortable reach from the seated position! The room itself has all the basics you need, and I will say the beds are really comfortable. Bonus points for super cold AC. They also had a good breakfast available each day, and there was a food truck right across the street. -Location 6/10. People seem to like the location, but keep in mind it is a mile away from Mallory Square and many attractions on lower Duval. For a first time visitor, I'd recommend staying closer to the action if you truly want to be “steps away from everything.” If you plan to venture out and walk further than the immediate area every day, you will need to be able bodied for a lot of walking. Don't get me wrong- there's a nice time to be had on Upper Duval as well. But going further is a bit of a trek. There are other modes of transportation but they all cost $$$ and parking is a pain. But you can rent a bike/ scooter/ golf cart, or plan on taking Uber often. The free Duval Loop bus is nice and we did take advantage of it as much as possible. Not a bash on BW, but I wouldn't rate the location a 10. For the price (we paid around $375 per night), I'd rather pay extra next time to be closer to things. They also seem to no longer have a hot tub (it looked cemented over), and the showers really need to be updated.

Friendly staff, free parking, and perfect location. Just a short walk to the beach in the morning for sunrise at Southernmost Point, as well as a short walk to downtown Duval Street and Sunset Pier. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

Staff was very friendly. The property was well kept and clean. Heated pool, complimentary breakfast and great rooms. My favorite, perfect location walking distance to tons on restaurants, attractions and the beach.

This hotel was is a hidden gem in Key West. It is located 1 block from the quieter end of Duval but close enough to walk to shops, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc... The hotel rooms are large and have a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. Our room was 2 queens and a sitting area that contained 1 chair and ottomen. Rooms were cleaned daily with towels refreshed every day. The pool area is nice, large and has plenty of lounge chairs and areas in the sun and the shade. The breakfast (served 7am-10am) was plentiful as well (eggs, bacon, sausage, assorted breads, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, juice, coffee, and fresh waffles *delicious! The staff is friendly and Will at the front desk is exceptional The hotel is within walking distance to all that Key West has to offer or a Uber ride is a few dollars ($10 to Mallory Square)

I notified the management that the first day I arrived at The Hibiscus I had a long day I had been up since 2:30 in the morning to get to Florida so I just crashed at night but I rolled over in the morning my hand landed on sand in the bed ( I have pictures to document) I feel I shouldn't have to pay for a night to sleep in dirty sheets, no response from management ,

Hotel was clean..room was spacious..pool area large & well maintained, offering lounge sofas/tables/shaded areas. Great breakfast offered & ended at 10am...not 8 or 9am. Even though room was on ground level any outside noise was very minimal.

I'm hesitant to write this glowing review because I don't want more people to discover this place and cause it to become a party hotel or have the prices go up! This is the second stay for my girlfriend's trip. The hotel is immaculately clean, the front desk staff is amazingly helpful, the pool area is clean and quiet, and it's perfectly located. Will definitely stay here again when I return to KW.

We recently stayed at Hibiscus for 2 nights. We were very pleased with the accommodations and hotel staff. Room was clean and the premises are beautiful. Pool area is very nice. Location is good and quiet. Wish we would have stayed a few more nights. We will return on a future visit to Key West.

Stayed here for a week and have to say it was one of the nicest Best Westerns I've been to. Upon check-in, they actually had my welcome gift all ready for me since I am a Diamond Select Best Western member. Very nice, as I travel for a living and a lot of the Best Westerns could care less and don't recognize it. With that said, the location of this Best Western is outstanding. It's close to Duval Street and it's on the other side of the city from all of the hustle and bustle near the port. The pool is heated and is really nice. However, there is NO hot tub. You might see it in some of the pictures from other guests, but there is a large wooden cover and a giant plant on top of that as of our stay in December of 2022. The free breakfast is the usual fake eggs, pre-maid waffle mix, gross fake sausage/bacon and the awful corn syrup-based juice. There is fresh fruit and yogurt and milk for healthier options. Can't really expect too much for free. You can get daily housekeeping service if you need it. The staff was friendly, and the price for the room was a little less than some of the other resorts. The only bad thing was that the closet and/or drawers we kept our clothes in must have been moldy or really mega-musty as we had to wash our clothes several times to get the moldy/musty smell out once we got home. The smell of the room wasn't that bad, no more than any other place we've ever stayed in Florida. It is Florida and there is always a little bit of that moldy/musty smell in the room. But for some reason, our clothes really stunk once we got home. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance of this hotel and if you like Mexican/Latin American cuisine you should try the little food truck across the street from the hotel and use the discount card that is in the room. One of the best Huevos Rancheros I've ever eaten. I'd recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again when I come back to Key West.

The weather on our trip was colder than usual but the pool was warm! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good location in key west, close to restaurants and shops but still in a family friendly area. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. The property is older but has been completely upgraded. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and two sinks for washing etc. The room was kept very clean throughout our stay. The staff here are terrific, particularly Will at the front desk and the girl who looks after the breakfast room. Will was extremely helpful with directions and recommendations as to where to dine. Breakfast was very good for this type of hotel with a wide variety of items which were varied every day. We did not use the pool but it was heated and looked inviting. The hotel is in a great location close to all the tourist attractions. We would not hesitate to recommend this property for anyone visiting Key West. Thanks to the manager and staff.

This is a convenient location to downtown Key West. Free and easy parking was a treat. Rooms were great and breakfast was good. The only thing i would change is the pool was closed for swimming after 9pm. Cant be a better location easy to walk or moped anywhere.

Several years ago we stayed here and had the same level of service as last time. The front desk people were great, especially Will. Will answered all our questions, engaged us in a friendly conversation, and gave us excellent easy to understand directions. The room was immaculate Anna's were the bed linens and towels. The hotel is well maintained and the landscaping is beautiful. Breakfast was tasty with a nice selection. Room was spacious for the three women who stayed here. Within walking distance of Duval Street.

We visit the BW in Key West for 2 nights. Hotel room was comfortable but not as clean. The bathroom shower curtain and the toilette had some hair present from the previous person who stayed at that room. Otherwise great location. Breakfast buffet is your typical Best Western food.

The motel is about 10 min. from the airport and within walking distance of everyplace. You can easily walk wherever you want to go. There are a few big hotels in KW but this is a great BW motel. There are many restaurants and cafes and shops all within walking Distance of the motel.

We stayed here 2 nights @ $200 a night, a reasonable rate for such an expensive city. Located in a quiet section of KW. We parked, checked in, left the car there for 2 days and walked or cabbed everywhere. Room was really nice. Towels were exceptionally soft. They also provided pool towels in the room. Good assortment of tv channels. Very quiet. Breakfast buffet was good, fried eggs and bacon. We stayed here for our trip to Dry Tortugas, only downside was that we had to leave for the ferry by 6:30 and breakfast wasn't open yet, but we managed. Nice pool, even though we didn't use it. Will, at the front desk was absolutely awesome! Gave us a nice room and gave us great advise as to what to do around town. We requested a 2nd floor room and got it, just remember that there is no elevator. Motel is very close to the Southern Most Point, Hemingway Mansion and Light House. We walked the entire Duval Street 2 nights. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a great place to stay. The property is impeccably kept up ,the front desk staff are extremely polite and helpful. Rooms are well kept and spacious. They have a complimentary breakfast with a great selection and very clean. It is the perfect location . Walking distance to most places and a quick taxi if you don't feel like walking . Would stay again.

The hotel is great. The staff from the front desk to the grounds crew were all very friendly and professional. This is just a great place to stay in Key West. It has a bit of a retro feel so there is some nostalgia to it. The pool is very nice and very warm which was good in November. Breakfasts are good. The rooms were very large. Free parking is awesome in a town were parking is very difficult and expensive. Location was good too.

Perfect location. Room was huge. Everything was clean. Service was amazing. Quiet hotel. Pool was perfect. No hot tub was only negative thing. This was a perfect stay for the family. My aunt is a frequent key west visitor, and was so pleased with this place she will be staying again. I hope they never switch management.

My wife and I just returned from a stay at this terrific hotel. It's located right downtown and within walking distance to many tourist attractions and great restaurants. The resort is clean, well maintained, and the staff are wonderful. The pool area is like a little oasis. Located in the center of the property, it's quiet with plenty of areas to soak up the sun, or relax in one of the the shaded areas . The morning breakfast is great and there are plenty of healthy options. The staff take great pride in the property, and really want to ensure your every need is met. Deborah the manager assisted us with an issue regarding our room rate, and we appreciated her taking care of this for us. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, plenty of TV channels and terrific WiFi. Plenty of parking, and you are only 2 blocks from the ocean. A wonderful location for walking downtown and we felt very safe. Thank you Deborah and your staff for all of the fine work you do, it's greatly appreciated!

We stayed at this property last night, for one night. Spacious, clean rooms with microwave and fridge. Ice-cold air conditioning, clean bathroom with tub/shower and an abundance of towels. Great pool area - well kept, clean and the water was a great temperature when we took a dip around 7pm with the kids. The staff were all great and allowed access to our room 30 mins before check-in. Will was particularly great, and gave some great local information as well as excellent service. Thank you. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Stayed for 3 nights. Great location easy walking distance to all tourist spots. If you don't fancy the walk the free loop bus stop is close by. Clean room with lots of towels rather than a couple as per usual hotels. Basic breakfast but appreciated as was complimentary. Great priced room for a stay in Key West.

Very convenient location. Duval Street is just one block over. It is just a short two, three block walk to the famous buoy. The Little White House and Hemingway House are also within walking distance. The staff here was great! Especially Will at check in.

Have stayed here several years now. Good location away from noise but close to Duval. Love large pool with deep end. Rooms large and clean with two sinks which is a plus. Breakfast was super and taken care of by a very friendly hard working girl! , counter staff was the friendliest i have seen for years and Will was the best that went out of his way to help , which isn't seen much in staff anymore. Had a great stay and will look forward to coming back !! Also big plus no resort fees like the big places and plenty of great roomy parking also.

A great small motel that has spolessly clean, tastefull decorated , suprisingly large rooms, All surrounding a large beautiful pool. All grounds meticulously maintained. Great staff, nice breakfast room with good food. STAY HERE!!

In order of importance to me: Room was very clean and I felt safe there with my daughter. Room was very quiet. I was unsure of reserving a room near a pool but when I shut the door I heard nothing. Breakfast included a lot of options. The eggs were very good. The coffee was great. I don't know who does the hiring and training but the front desk staff is top notch. Housekeeping is wonderful. Bed was comfortable. The location was perfect. Near southernmost point and Duval. It is a very nice looking property. Decor was pretty. Shower pressure was great. There was a fan in the bathroom.

We stayed from 10/01-10/05. I have nothing negative to say! The pool was cleaned every morning, the grounds were clean and they even mopped the outside walkways!! The room was cleaned daily and they do an exceptional job!! I was impressed by how clean the room was!! Breakfast had a nice variety and changed daily so you're not eating the same thing every day. Walking distance to everything! We will stay here again when we return to Key West!

Our second visit to Key West and again we choose to stay at this Best Western. Once again we had a very nice stay at a reasonable price. Our room was spacious and very clean, room service was excellent. The pool was spotless and very relaxing. We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning, the staff made sure everything was clean and all of the food was hot and fresh. Just a fantastic Hotel that is consistent. Looking forward to coming again next year.

This hotel was reasonably priced and in a good location. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The pool was very nice. The only downside is that there isn't an elevator though it is only 2 floors.

Great place to stay. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean & large, not your average size hotel room, so gave us plenty of room. Had mini fridge and microwave. Plenty of towels. Pool was good size. Great location right off of Duval. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Hibiscus is an older hotel but is well maintained by staff daily. Our 1st floor room with 2 queen beds was very large,comfortable and roomy. The breakfast was decent for a starter in the morning. Very close to Duval and on the quiet end. Well within walking distance of everything plus no parking or resort fees.

This property is like the jewel of Best Western's properties. We're BW members and have stayed at over a dozen of their hotels and have come to expect a certain level of excellence but this one is over and above! The layout, the pool, the location, and of course the friendly staff, make this hotel a must if your heading to Key West.

The hotel was very clean and nice. The pool and surrounding area was very spacious. Out of all our friends staying in the area, we had the nicest pool. They offer a very nice breakfast with many options to choose from including fresh home made waffles. The air in the rooms works amazingly well which is very much needed. The rooms are very big and offer two separate sinks and mirrors to get ready. The property seems to have been recently updated. There is also a fridge and microwave in the room which makes it very convenient to stock up on some drinks. We were certainly happy with the property. We did end up getting a golf cart though as it's further away from a lot of the activity on Duvall and it was too hot when we went to walk. Great place though.

Great value for your money. Parking is included, no resort fee. Close enough to Duval street but in a quieter area. Pool area is very nice. Rooms are clean. Good breakfast and the employee that was responsible for it was AMAZING. She was constantly replacing the food items when they were low and wiping down tables as soon as people left. She was EXTREMELY attentive and deserves a raise. I would stay here again.

This hotel is a great place to stay in Key West for an affordable price without any resort fees. The grounds are very clean and the pool area is perfect for a day of relaxing at the pool. The room was very clean and spacious. Within walking distance of the southernmost point and Duval St. Plenty of free parking

Hotel has super convenient location, a block off of the quieter end of Duval Street, block away from the water with many terrific restaurants/bars nearby. Very helpful staff. Very clean. Free breakfast, free parking, free internet. Recently remodeled. "Extra" sink in addition to bathroom was really helpful Pool was bathwater warm but still felt good. Terrific pricing for a weekend stay! Will stay here again. Highly recommend.

Good hotel for the money. Location close to the trolley if you take that. Though trolley route takes forever. Take an Uber. Breakfast is good. Pool is always in the sun and hear with little to no shade so bring sunblock. And the humidity allows nothing to dry, so pack extra. Staff not very helpful for house keeping. Asked for supplies and was told to go to front desk. Instacart does deliver here. Not far from butterfly conservatory. Not too far from southern most point. Rooms are adequate.

I love this hotel and continue to come back because of the location, the staff, as well as the amenities offered and the upkeep. I first stayed here in 2011 before it was repainted, renovated and fancied up and it was great then and is still my go to place to stay in Key West. This year was a girl's trip with myself and a friend driving down from NC and another flying in from NY to meet us. We had a ground floor pool side room (my favorite) and never had to ask for anything, our room was cleaned when we wanted it and had plenty of towels as well as extras. I love the large rooms here, with adult women we never had not enough room to spread out. The location is great I love to get my morning coffee across the street at the cuban deli and walk to the pier by the Southernmost House Hotel and watch the sunrise. Next door is a small liquor store/bar where you can get a drink or a bottle, they have some outdoor seating as well as live music on some nights. I am really looking forward to my next visit in August 2022.

Very nice room, great service at front desk and room was cleaned everyday. The hotel is walking distance to everything. Nice pool area and hotel itself is very quaint and quiet. Highly recommend due to location.

Great place to stay with nice pool real close to everything and super close to southernmost point. Room was clean. Great value for your money. Breakfast was great every day with great service. I would definitely stay again!

Small hotel, with all amenities. Spaced room with parking and walking distance to beach and restaurants and tourism attractions. Front desk service was average but quick and Che out. Good prices for key west and location.

Not worth the price they charge to stay here. Property is a $200 a night stay at best on a weekend. Seriously outdated rooms and property. However, the staff was friendly. I would not recommend staying here. Pay the $50 more and stay at an actual resort.

I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated. The pool was wonderful. It's nearby to many attractions. We parked and walked to everything. I will stay here again if come back in the future.

2nd stay in Best Western during this trip and 2nd time with a wall view which was a bit disappointing. Nice quiet area, just off Duval St close to the sea. Unfortunately there is a slight smell of rotten seaweed in the area though you get used to it quickly

This hotel is a little of the beaten path, but we had good accommodations for a much cheaper price than if we would have been on the main street. As long as you don't mind walking, then this will be a good place to stay.

Housekeeping did not clean our room several a few days. Not sure how you miss the trash from the restroom and the hall way, or the towels are on the floor. The fitted sheet was put on inside out and the towels felt like sand paper. I had to keep asking for toilet paper since no extra one was left. I also had a male staff member of housekeeping look through my window which was scary. When these issues were brought to the GM Deborah her response was for me to find somewhere else if I was extremely happy. Very rude for a GM to say this to a guest. Rather than correct the issue she was quick to tell us to leave. After all this I felt harassed by this particular male staff as he just kept looking at us. Deborah refused to speak with me to find a resolution and I have left several messages. Management needs to be retrained just as the housekeeping staff. Not worth the money.

Key West is great, but it is also noisy and impossible to park in. This hotel is a bit far from the center of things, but everything is easily within walking distance of everything. There is ample free parking. It is quiet (and since we are divers and need to be up early that is important). The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and will help with many things. The pool is nice and has a deck where you can eat outside. The breakfast was good.

My family (2 kids) stayed there over July 4th 2022. The rooms are large, clean, and easily accessible. It was also in a quiet area. While the pool was a bit warm, I have a feeling that was due to mother nature. Easily walkable to bars, shops, restaurants, and the Southernmost Point. It was perfect for a family looking to stay in Key West, near(ish) to the action, but not IN the action.

Everyone absolutely loves this place I can see why. It's clean, it's spacious, it's close to everything near Duval street. Everything about this place was a breeze, from parking, checking in - out, and even accommodating our last minute needs. This place was clean and renovated. Highly recommend!

In my opinion, this is the best value in Key West. Excellent location, great internet service, free parking, decent breakfast included. You won't find anything like this with a decent price except at this hotel.

Stayed two nights here in late June and it was perfect. Clean, quiet, great location. Pool, room and service was great. Easy walking distance to main strip. The room was very comfy, clean and spacious. Plenty of safe parking.

We stayed here between Christmas and New Year's, which the locals call “Hell Week” due to the number of tourists like us. This place was available, but really expensive. We like to walk as much as we can on vacation, and this hotel is a little over a mile to Mallory Square. Knowing that parking is at a premium, just make sure you're OK with a slightly distant hotel. It was close to the Southernmost Marker, which was handy.

This was my first trip to Key West...in my search for a place to stay I was discovering a LOT of places had all these fees that weren't disclosed up front. Also, a lot of reviews revealed these "charming" guest houses were often in need of updating, lacked space and many of the basics. By contrast the Hibiscus had very clean and attractive grounds...and our room seemed updated (fresh paint/furniture seemed new)...also, our room came with pool/beach towels (perfect since we packed light) a microwave/minifridge (most places I noticed DID NOT). One of the more comfortable beds I've experienced in a hotel room. Also, of all the pools I saw while I was down in Key West...ours was I think the biggest! with a lot of lounge chairs surrounding it. I had read that there are chickens loose everywhere and was concerned about the roosters in the morning, but I didn't hear a one while in the room. The location was also great...we walked everywhere and it was only a 20$ Uber to/from the airport (there is also a local bus for $4 one way)...I interacted very little with the front desk people, but when I did they were polite. There is parking, but I don't recommend having a car in Key West and the location of this motel makes it really unnecessary. ONLY drawbacks...their coffee wasn't very good and if you are light sensitive...there are no drapes, just wooden shutters through which the lights streams through in the morning...I was careful to close them up AS MUCH as possible every night...but, I was also glad I brought my sleep mask which I slipped on every early morning...

Excellent service and professional team. The large room and bathroom area is pure perfection! I wish all hotels had the layout of this place. Having a second whole vanity with sink area outside the bathroom is a major plus when getting ready. Such comfy beds and cold room as we like. The 7am hot breakfast served each morning sitting by the beautiful pool area, well that was such a plus to help start the day! Thank you BW for a wonderful stay!

The Best Western Hibiscus was great. Our family of 11 had 5 rooms for a week and nobody had any problems. The complimentary breakfast area was the most attentive I have ever seen at a hotel. The housekeeping staff was professional and very experienced. The front desk staff were friendly, the pool was great, the rooms were large and the location was very convenient to Duval Street.

The BW Hibiscus is the PERFECT hotel to stay at when traveling to Key West! We did a lot of research before deciding on this location and we were thoroughly pleased!! The staff was polite, knowledgeable and professional! The location was perfect, close enough to get to everything but far enough away to enjoy a quiets night sleep. The pool was large, refreshing and relaxing. Parking was ample and easy. Breakfast was HOT and delicious. Our room was HUGE and had so much space for the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 teenager). We cannot wait to plan our next trip to Key West so we can stay here again!!

This hotel was very clean, had a large pool and plenty of chairs. The room, we had 2 queen beds was quite large and the bathroom was nice with a frosted window so let in some light. Breakfast was the standard stuff, but they had a person there to help and clean up, so it stayed organized. Few tables inside, but lots outside. It was a bit hot when we were there and we manage to get an inside table. The location is good, a good walk to downtown, but not too far. A few nights we did struggle to get back, but could have always called Uber which was reasonable. Our only issue was the last day of our visit, our room was not cleaned. After 4 PM, we put the do not disturb on the door as we wanted time to shower and get ready to go to happy hour. We had plenty of towels and the room did not need other cleaning, so it was not a big issue. We saw the cleaning carts all day while we were at the pool, so not sure what happened.

Room was clean. Staff were helpful in giving directions. Pool was clean. Breakfast lived up to expectations and had both hot and cold options. Cinnamon for waffles was a nice surprise. Coffee available in evening which is nice

Small family, two queen bed room. Parking was ample, pool was deep and large: warm clean water. (Cabanas were open & perfect for sunbathing) We didn't use the breakfast but it was always a happy environment. Great location. The hotel itself is so cool. Awesome vibe for relaxing. Great restaurants within walking distance. Beds were comfy, lots of pillows. Shower was HOT. (Huge +) Wonderfully staffed with courteous and kind people. Will visit again.

I called a half-dozen BnBs on the island, and most of them are adults-only (for some inadequately explored reason), so if you have kids and want to stay in Key West, your options are limited. But look no further than the Best Western. Not only did they allow kids, but the rooms are larger than you would expect, breakfast is included, and they are cheaper than most of the places I checked.

I really like this hotel! The location, room size and (relative) prices can't be beat. For the most part, service is usually good as well. However, that can depend on who you get. When I was initially checking in, I just had what I thought was a simple request. The 2 ladies working seemed uninterested and then unable/unwilling to help. Luckily, the room wasn't ready so I threw my bag in the middle of the lobby (more on that later) and headed out. A couple hours later I checked back and Derion Clark was working the desk. He instantly handled my request and I was in my room in minutes. My experience went instantly from frustrating to very satisfied. Thanks Derion! I do wish they had a better practice for travelers arriving before rooms are ready. I realize that is a problem when you are fully or heavily booked, but I would recommend having a location other than throwing bags in the lobby where dozens of other customers pass through. Isn't there a locked closet or someplace more secure?

This is a very nice and well maintained hotel. Good location. It was nice to stay at a hotel where there is no resort and parking fees. It was like staying at a resort and the pool was very nice to relax by in the afternoon after seeing the sights in Key West. The staff very friendly and helpful.

We have stayed here 3 times now so we must like the BWH and we do, The staff is very friendly and helpful, except the guy a night who tells us "The pool is closed!". The rooms are clean and comfortable. We slept 8 to 9 hours a night feeling well rested. The free parking is a plus. The downside is the pool area. The furniture needs to be cleaned and the pool deck needs to be resurfaced. We noticed the hot tub was covered with a large plant over it which looked nice. We tell people to check it out and we will be back next time just work on the pool area please.

Very comfortable and clean hotel. Easy to get to many sites in Key West within a 15 minute walk. Great pool and pool area. Free breakfast can be enjoyed at outside tables near the pool. Our room was big, beds were super comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers & towels were good. Property was kept extremely clean inside and outside. Highly recommend this hotel, it's reasonably priced compared to other options in Key West.

Beautiful motel! My best friend and I had an amazing spring break enjoying the beautiful pool and convenience to everything in Key West! We would definitely suggest having bikes arranged prior to your arrival. They were waiting for us at the hotel when we arrived and we used them everyday of our stay.

The motel was very clean, the grounds and motel tidy, pool was big and lots of loungers with both sun and shade. The location was ideal! so easy to get to everything by foot, bike or scooter. (A&M scooter rental is just across the street which was super convenient. We rented by the week and the price was very reasonable) The staff friendly and accommodating. I did not do the free breakfast, but it looked good. The only negative thing was the towels; they were in need of replacing. Other than that we had an amazing time and have already booked another trip to this motel. You can't go wrong! Also, the Tipsy Rooster is next store, a small bar and liquor store with nightly music. Great overall experience

We stayed here based on the price was much better than the locations closer to Mallory square. Additionally we liked the fact it was near southernmost and away from the party zone. The room was very large and sufficient for our family of four. The hot breakfast set up was sufficient. The pool area was very nice. We were very happy with what we got for our money. We would definitely stay here again. Safe and secure for families.

We stayed here for 1 night while sightseeing in Key West. It's a great location, just a few minutes from the Southernmost Point and about a 20 minute walk to Mallory Square. Room was clean and everything was in working condition.

I always check out the reviews before booking, and everything I had read about here was good. I agree. The most important thing to me is a clean room. Our room was very clean. The location was great. Convenient to walking to southernmost point and all the tourists spots. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This was a second visit and well worth our planning to stay again. VERY clean rooms and common areas. The pool is a great space for people to enjoy some sun. Close enough to walk to attractions but quiet. Staff was very accommodating. Great breakfast spots right nearby.

If your looking to be out of the busy area but close enough to walk to it, this Motel is for you. Rooms were very clean, generous with the towels and we found the pool to also be very clean and nice. Close walk to Duval, Southern most point and the beach. Bonus was the free parking. Only negative was i wish the pool stayed open past 9pm and that it had a spa.

We stayed here from March 8 - 12, 2022. The location is fantastic - within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. There is a free shuttle available if you need to take a break. Room was huge and very clean. The only problem we encountered was a strong musty smell. We were unable to switch rooms since the resort was full and they tried to take care of it, but it did not go away. I had to leave my clothes in the suitcase to avoid having them smell. The pool area is very clean, nothing fancy, but nice. The breakfast was fantastic each day - lots of great options. There is a Cuban Coffee place across the street which make breakfast even better.

The BW Hibiscus Inn is very reasonably priced. It is an older, well-kept property with charm. The room we had was huge and comfortable with a bedroom and a living room area. There is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage request a first floor room. The staff is really wonderful; very helpful and friendly. We had a great stay.

We enjoyed the quiet location of this hotel. Definitely would choose to stay here again. The room was spacious and clean. There were hot and cold choices for breakfast and it was adequate. We were within walking distance to some other food options and retail stores and the southern most point.

The hotel itself is not kept up well. The rooms were not minimum standard clean in my opinion. We overlooked this based on the location. It is near a lot of key spots. There is a breakfast included that was bare minimum but did the job.

We had a great stay at this Best Western in Key West. Check in was simple and there is plenty of parking. Our room was spacious, clean, and in a great location. The price for this hotel is far less than other hotels in Key West. We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked like a great area to hang out. We would stay here again.

As I researched places to stay in Key West, this was one of the lowest cost ones I came across. As I read the reviews, I decided to book here. It couldn't have worked out any better. We walked EVERYWHERE from here, including three different beaches. Rooms are large (we had 2 queens). Nice having a sink inside the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. Room and grounds were pristine. Pool was fine. Only downside of the pool is 3/4 of it is 5' or deeper, which is used very little. Breakfast was fine...certainly not great, but it was free. We usually walked to eat breakfast elsewhere. Hotel is one block from Duval St. 2 doors down is a small place called Tipsy Rooster that sold some really good mixed drinks and had liquor/beer to go. Staff were all very kind. Our plan was to spend our last day at the fancy Southernmost Beach Resort with a $100 day pass (located across the street). But the Best Western won us over. We checked out at 11 am and spent the day at the pool until it was time to head home that evening.

First, I have to say, we were surprised by the size of the room. It's the biggest room we've ever had at a Best Western. The front desk staff was very nice and welcoming. The location is perfect. It's in a quiet neighborhood, but easily walkable to all of the main attractions. We would 100% stay here again.

The king room was clean and very large. We slept well without any outside noises. Parking was free which is a plus in Key West. The salt water pool was nice. We liked the location of the this hotel. It is near some great places to eat:, Ana's Cuban Cafe and Abbondanza Italian, and the Southernmost Point. We also rented bikes from Fury that was only a couple blocks away. I rated the value a little lower. I've never paid that much for a room before, but all the hotels were expensive when we went.

We booked this hotel back in the early fall, lucky we did because we saved a ton of money! We really like Best Western, clean and nice looking rooms. Breakfasts varies by location, but are usually pretty good.

Hotel is very well situated within easy walking distance of sites such as southernmost point, butterfly conservancy, and Hemingway house, as well as many restaurants and shops. Spacious, clean rooms and great saltwater pool.

Perfect location for exploring Duval street, surrounding area and the Southernmost point on foot. Clean rooms, lovely pool and delicious breakfasts with real eggs and bakery muffins in addition to everything else you could want. A little pricey but great location for quiet evenings.

Really nice hotel. Probably the best Best Western I've ever stayed in. Great accommodations. The pool is large, clean and warm. The only complaint is the internet service is really POOR. If you really need a strong consistent internet signal this is not the hotel for you.

My husband & I felt like it was a surprisingly nice Best Western conveniently located. Blocks away from southern most point and one block from Duvall Street.(Plus we get hotel points) No, its not close to Mallory Square but we always walk so much in Key West, that it was no trouble at all to walk. Ubers are readily available. The hotel had a nice pool and bars/restaurants/convenience stores that were all steps away from the property. Pretty quiet property. Check in staff and housekeeping members were very nice. Free breakfast was "meh" but what do you expect from a free breakfast. Fine for a bagel or a piece of toast. Free coffee was a win! Would definitely recommend this hotel. If you get a second floor room, keep in mind that there are NO elevators.

We enjoyed our stay, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was excellent, the staff is friendly, courteous and answered any questions that we had about Key West. This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel and will book again the next time we plan a trip to Key West. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance of the hotel.

We stayed here Feb 20th - 24th. Chose this based on price & other reviews. Overall, we really liked this hotel....very clean, spacious standard room w/2 queen beds, fridge, microwave, quiet. It was a bit of a far walk to Seaport/Mallory Square area, which might be an issue if you come in the hot & humid months....but close walk to the beach!

I thought the hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly. Rooms are very large. The pool is heated and large. Breakfast was good, included cereals, eggs, sausage, juices, coffee, teas, bagels, toast, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, fruit cup, toppings enough to get you started for the day. Ice machines. The hotel is very convenient to the public beach at the end of Duval Street, and to the famous southernmost point buoy. Good restaurants close to the hotel.

The good: Nice location .. far enough away from the craziness of Duval steet, but close enough to walk there. Nice breakfast nice sized room the bad: toilet ran every couple minutes AC was noisy shower went cold when someone in another room turned on their water

The Best Western Hibiscus motel was great for our stay. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Housekeeping came every day to keep the room clean, and the front desk staff were consistently helpful. We loved the pool, it was a little cool for me, but so nice to have just steps from our room. The provided breakfast wasn't gourmet, but still had plenty of choices to satisfy and fill us up. The location of the BW Hibiscus is super convenient; we could easily walk where we wanted. I would not hesitate to say here again!

The best western in close to upper Duval st near restaurants. And a short drive to lower Duval where all the night life is located. The pool area is nice and the free buffet breakfast is ok. There is plenty of parking

Really great “hotel”. Pool was heated — really heated. Breakfast was basic but staff was super friendly and made sure to replenish. Leisurely 15 min walk to heart of Duval Street. No problems with noise — we were there during peak Christian's to New Year and didn't hear anything while sleeping. Not cheap but very reasonable for Key West during busy holiday season.

We stayed here two nights last week. The prices in KW were really high at the time. So that made the BW's rates very reasonable. They could have gouged us but didn't. The location is perfect. So much within walking distance. The free Duval shuttle bus stop was very close. Lots of parking. The BW suited our needs quite well.

Wonderful staff. Very friendly, helpful, and efficient! Very quiet at night. So close to the beach as well as town. Excellent choice for families yet secluded enough for couples. Rooms are extremely clean. Beds and pillows are comfortable. I would definitely stay there again

For the price we paid I expected more. Started with check in. Front desk was rude wouldn't take my ID because it was under hubbys name but just was in a best western in another part of Florida who had no problem. Rooms are smelly pillows on bed hard, shower nob didn't work to get hot water, no one came to clean room even with sign not on doo, pool water like walking into a bath tub not refreshing on a hot day. Was told coffee was 24/7 but we couldn't get it at 6:30 am. Sorry wasn't a big fan of the place. Location was good walking distance to stuff in a quite area but don't plan on returning

Absolute great place to stay! Its a Best Western so you know what you are getting and that is a place that is quiet, clean, and has breakfast. It is located in a very convenient local for walking around. The staff was great and super helpful. We would easily stay here again.

The room was big for Key West and I liked having 2 sinks but our room smelled so strongly like mold/mildew. Housekeeping said sorry and the hotel was booked so we couldn't move. For what we paid it should have smelled better! Came home and my clothes in my suitcase smell like mold. Location was great for a wedding I went to down the street. We also saw some bugs in our room. Beds were average.

This property is located on the southern end of the island. It is close to the Duval loop stops. Also close to the depot for the hop-on/off trolly. Rooms were well maintained and clean. We stayed in a king suite which was large and private. The pool was nice. The only negative was the temperature of the pool, it was almost bath temperature. There are large cabana beds. They were ok, but really took up a lot of sun area and awkward unless you were on the ends. The staff was excellent. No resort fees. Room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was average hotel fair. Good/free parking.

We stayed here 3 nights in Early February 2022. Great location just a block off Duvall Street. Easy walk to the the southern most bouy, Mallory Square, restaurants and bars. The pool was wonderful, very warm. Room had a slight musty smell. My only complaint: I received an email prior to checking in which contained my reward number therefore I assumed they knew I was a reward member and knew my reward number. After checking in I questioned it and was told that I needed to let them know prior to checking in and since I was already checked in there was nothing they could do. Great location and walking distance to the beaches and Duval St. Spacious rooms, friendly and accommodating staff, delicious hot continental breakfast, nice size pool and pool area, and clean, comfortable rooms. We'd definitely stay there again!

Everything in our toom worked and the entire property was a clean as could be. The daily housekeeping was complete and perfect. The pool area was large and clean. Breakfast was ample with a great variety. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to be helpful. Great location.

We aren't high-end vacationers so this BW was adequate for what we needed. Breakfast does leave something to be desired unless you are happy with breads, yogurt, and fruit. The "hot" options were unappealing. Friendly staff, big rooms. We would stay again.

Best Western Hibiscus is in a great location on Key West. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Closer to the Atlantic side (Higgs beach), and around 1 mile walk to the Gulf side (Historic Harbor walk). The pool area is beautiful with lots of plants and comfortable lounge chairs, also tables to sit and enjoy a meal. The pool was heated, and a lot warmer than I expected in January. Nice tropical feel! Our room was spacious with 2 queen beds and very clean. Plenty of room for us to spread out, with large closet. The bathroom was all white and also very clean. Lots of towels, hair dryer, soap and hair products. I felt pampered! Breakfast was very good, served 7 am to 10 am which we enjoyed daily. They served scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, lots of breads for toasting, cereal, juice, fruit, yogurt and Waffles! There was always an attendant nearby to refill when things were running low, and cleaning up the dining area. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. We loved the Lobster Shack for lobster rolls, and La Grignote for lunch. A little farther away we loved Clemente's Wood Fired pizza, and the Boat House for Happy Hour 4 pm - 6:30 pm. This hotel is a little gem in Key West!

This property used to be a boutique hotel so there's some good attributes to the property that may not always be a given at Best Western hotels. The rooms were spacious and the pool is very nice (and heated). The location may be its best feature being just two blocks from the water but also very close to good restaurants and bars where you won't miss having those features in your hotel itself. (We could carry drinks back from a nearby spot and still enjoy a beverage at the pool for example.) The value of staying at this property over many other higher priced properties really can't be beat though.

The girl that checked us in had an attitude because the reservation was in my old last name because I haven't changed it in the loyalty club. We stayed in the king suites which we loved. Lots of room and we loved the fact that we had two sinks. However at the bottom of the stairs there was a small step down which was not marked at all and next impossible to see at night. My husband actually took a tumble there. The location was great as it was walking distance to many sights. The cost was reasonable for the area.

My wife and I decided to stay at the hibiscus motel on a one night stay in Key West in order to check out the island and see what it was all about. We expected to see a Jacuzzi but unfortunately that is no longer in service. First with the positives, check-in was very easy and the attendance during breakfast were very helpful and very nice to us. Also the inner courtyard was very nicely decorated. We unfortunately didn't have time to use the pool but it looks nice as well. The only drawback is that there were no pool towels outside but instead we were told to use the white towels inside of our room. In terms of areas for improvements we felt that when it came to come asking for questions in the front lobby there was always a line of people. Also the room was very musty smelling due to the humidity which we would expect however it definitely had a smell to it every time we came into the room as the air conditioning did not always take out the moisture. Our clothes were very damp as we left the hotel. The one thing that we like the most was that it was only within a few blocks of Duvall Street which is the main reason why we booked. Also another impression we got was that the majority of residents at the hotel were more in the retired age and a lot less families or young people but perhaps that's because of the time of year that we were there. If you are a bit younger and have a family we would recommend perhaps a different hotel where there are more activities for the kids. This hotel however is completely sufficient if you're looking for a place that is within walking distance from Duval Street and you don't care too much about the time that you spend at the hotel.

Nicely located to Fulton St. Exceptional staff from front desk to room service, and hospitality. All very warm and friendly. Not located on a beach, but Key West usually not visited for beaches. Pool area was spacious and clean. This was a very nice choice

This hotel was a good value for staying in Key West We booked the stay several months in advance and received the best rate possible. The only issue we had was the AC was quite noisy and the room was a bit humid.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! We loved the spacious room and heated pool (the water in January would have been way too cold for this Floridian otherwise!). Everything seemed clean and well taken care of, and the rooms are nicely updated with a sort of retro tropical feel. The rooms have a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Parking was free and seemed ample. The only minus for us is the walk, as my husband has some mobility issues - it's about a mile to historic seaport and a half mile to the "Duval Crawl" area of Duval St, but there weren't closer affordable rooms. But the location is quiet and fairly close to a few good dining options! Also, this hotel has no elevator, so if you have mobility issues and/or lots of luggage, request a first floor room. The free breakfast was a typical hotel spread of breads, fruit, eggs, and breakfast meats. Front desk staff were pleasant, and we experienced no issues. Overall, I wasn't thrilled with paying as much as we did for the room, but after realizing every where else in Key West was just as costly or even more expensive, plus the additional parking fees at many properties, I'm happy with our decision to stay here and would definitely consider this property in the future!

Worth the money, it was in a nice central location, a bike rental was a short block away, beaches were very close and a very secure area. The swimming pool was clean and it had a nice breakfast assortment.

It's a Best Western and it was usual Best Western standards. They are back to full breakfast which is nice. Excellent location. The photos of the pool area are accurate, but what it doesn't show is that rooms 122-127 on the lower "pool level" open to a dark, solid wall. My room (101) wasn't much better but at least it opened to a staircase that allowed a little bit of natural light in. Rooms 201-227 are fine if you are ok with the upper level (no elevator, this is a motel) but I have to say that walking 2-3 steps to the pool area with its comfy chairs, cabanas and chaise lounges was REALLY nice. So definitely ask for a lower level room. There are a handful of rooms off the back that face a parking lot to avoid. The staff was really nice and the pool area was great. Most people took their breakfasts to the many tables. The pool itself could have been a bit cooler -- it was the temperature of a tepid bath after one's been sitting in it for awhile. Nice for people who just want to lounge in the water though. I'd give it five stars by comparison to other Best Westerns.

I recently stayed at the habiscus Best Western and the experience was great. Parking was readily available the pool was clean and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The location is close to Duval street and and other interesting sites.

Great check in service, and the lady was very personable. Room was clean and comfortable . Good location and close to everything. Nice breakfast selection each day. Room was almost $400 a night, but that is Key West. I would stay here again

We wanted a place to walk to restaurants and nightlife and we were happy to find this hotel. We also wanted to see evening sunsets on the water and this location was perfect for that too! We were able to walk to everything.

We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The location was perfect, the entire property was beyond well kept with the pool area being the icing on the cake. We will return to Key West with the Hibiscus Inn being the main reason we will return!!

We had a great experience at the Hibiscus hotel. Rooms are better than I expected. Parking has plenty if spots. Super nice pool. Great walking distance from Duval Street. Very nice employees, they understand good customer service.

This hotel was such a Great choice for our New Year's trip to Key West! Great location, easy to get to everything we wanted to visit. Just a short walk to the beautiful beach, and just across the street from the Amazing Butterfly Conservatory!! They have continental breakfast available every morning, and because we were so close to great local restaurants, we went there to eat early, too! Also, having a microwave (with free popcorn) a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker made it very comfortable. The rooms were very quiet, and the wifi was great. The pool was amazing! It was so warm, that the whole pool was a spa! We did not expect that! Turned out the Best part of our stay was their compassion for their guests. As we were leaving for our ride home, my spouse had a bad bicycle accident, and they were so very accommodating and compassionate. They helped me with getting my luggage back that I'd already sent out for delivery to the boat trip, and helped me get an Uber/taxi to the emergency room. When my spouse had to stay overnight, the hotel manager truly surprised me by having saved me a room, just in case I wasn't going to be able to stay in the hospital with my spouse. So grateful for their cleanliness, great business skills, and especially, their kindness.

This place is very good. Only problem I found was it has no kitchen and price per day was very high. maybe the time we went.. Good breakfast, and near to Duval street (happening down town). Front desk is very helpful.

Have stayed at Casa Marina several times before and felt like we didn't get our money's worth. Availability pushed us to the BW Hibiscus, and we were happy with the outcome. The motel is a bit older but has obviously been remodeled recently. The room provided a quiet and comfortable base of operations for an action-packed visit to Key West. The Hibiscus is conveniently located near the Southernmost Point and the foot of Duval Street. Almost everything is an easy walk. The bed was comfortable, and we heard ZERO noise through the walls, even though the property was heavily occupied during our stay. Continental breakfast is provided, although we chose to eat breakfast elsewhere. The pool was nice and was a good place to cool off midday. There was a nice assortment of cable TV channels provided, and the room had a mini fridge, a microwave, two sinks, and a safe. We felt like our value proposition was quite good at this location.

This was our 2nd trip to Best Western Hibiscus. The hotel is in a great location. Duval Street, the southernmost point and Higgs Beach are all within walking distance. The cost of the hotel was great compared to others in the area. Check in and out was quick and easy. The hotel rooms are very roomy and clean. We had a microwave & mini fridge. They also provide towels if you want to use the pool. The pool is fantastic! It's large and heated with really nice loungers. There are several tables & chairs in the pool area to relax or eat by the pool. The breakfast isn't the best, but Ok. We will definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous property with stunningly decorated and very large rooms. Easy access from each room to the resort-like very large pool surrounded by tropical trees. The water was so warm that Higgs beach felt chilly by comparison! Perfect location with enjoyable walks to dining and the beach.

We already knew from a previous stay that the Best Western Hibiscus was a good value for Key West so we booked it again for the last part of our Keys anniversary trip. Compared to the cost of other hotels in Key West it is an absolute bargain. The rooms are very nice and well laid out. It's nice to have the vanity area outside the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and we love the pool. Breakfast was ok, not the greatest for a plant based diet but that's typical of hotels. Some fruit beyond just bananas would be nice. We like the location, nice and quiet, and an easy walk to some restaurants and attractions. We rented bikes which made farther exploring easy. I've considered some of the resorts with a beach but the cost is not worth it to us in a destination that is mostly about getting out and doing things. We rode to Fort Zachary for sunset, highly recommend!

Nice hotel, easy check in and spacious rooms. When we arrived our back window on our SUV busted. No fault of the hotel. I want to thank George on of the maintenance men for immediately coming out with a shop vac, extension cord and broom and helped us clean up the glass inside and out of the vehicle. He then brought out plastic and tape and helped to tape up the window in case it rained. He made a bad situation much better for us. I did try to speak to the manager to let them know how much George helped us but they were on a “conference call” at 8am. Anyway I hope this review will get George some recognition for all his help. We will definitely stay here again.

I booked Our room back in may. This was before the price increase. Please dont get me wrong this is a good place to stay, but a great place at the lower rate. Handy to the free Duvall Loop bus that is free. Killer B&G for breakfast. Super Staff. Our room could use a new mattress. All in all is is a good place to stay.

Perfect location and very near to duval street and fort zachery Taylor park. Nice room with all amenities as expected. Very helpful and attentive staff, bonus points for that. A bit on the pricey side, that's it.

We booked a handicapped room with a walk-in shower, very nice room. 2 queen size beds, extra sink outside of the bathroom Huge room The heated pool was a big plus. Plenty of chairs and covered areas. We didn't eat breakfast but, there were bagels, toast, muffins, etc. Coffee and juice. Everyone here goes out of their way to be nice. We will be back.

Quiet, nice location. Big swimming pool and hot breakfast.. Motel has plenty of parking space with easy a couple blocks away local attractions like : the Hemingway House, Lighthouse, most South point Marker, many good restaurants around. Good stay for families with kids.

Normally we stay at our time share but wanted second Key West vacation this year. Chose this Hibiscus based on good rate and reviews. It was above our expectations. The front desk agents were so pleasant, the King Suite 230 above the office was spacious, quiet and comfortable. It had a microwave and mini refrigerator lots of windows which made it bright and sunny inside unlike most motel rooms. The property was well maintained the pool was perfect. Can't wait to book it again next Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed everything about this motel.The best value in Key West, in a perfect location. We booked the room with a separate living room. It was very cozy and quiet. I am already planning on making it an annual stay. The staff were warm and welcoming.

We visited key west and decided to stay 1 night so we chose Best Western because we just wanted a cheap place to stay. The rooms were clean and really well kept up. The pool was clean and enjoyable and refreshing. Its better than a 2 star I would give it 4+ star rating.

very clean and only 2 blocks from Duval street so it was very quiet. It was located, 2 blocks from the hop on hop off bus. 3 blocks from the beach ,deli, liquor store. The interior courtyard was very pretty, it enclosed a very well maintained pool that was surrounded by palm trees.

Fantastic location, very clean, fabulous pool, and friendly helpful staff. Just blocks front Southernmost bouy marker, Butterfly Conservatory, great restaurants, bars and entertainment. Great place to stay.

The Best Western Hibiscus Motel was a great place to stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable. The pool was a nice place to just relax. It was a convenient place to stay, easy walk to every where.

I go to key West at least twice a year for the last 20 years. This will be my go to hotel. I wanted a king suite but only 2 queens were available. The room was huge compared to what is standard in key west. I had lots and lots of towels. Housekeeping every day did a great job. This place is very well managed. I don't think I've ever seen a hotel so clean! I actually saw one guy sweeping the gutter in the street in front of the hotel. Pool was always crystal clear and clean. You couldn't find a single bubble gum wrapper or cigarette butt anywhere. Sasha on the front desk was professional but personal. She made me feel welcome. The morning breakfast was good. Every day they had two hot dishes, cereal, bagels and breads, juices, coffee, and make your own waffle station. Location is great, right off DUVAL Street, drug store, bank, restaurants nearby. Look up Island Style Ride to rent a scooter. They will drop off at your hotel, and you just give the front desk your key when you're leaving and they pick it up later. I will definitely stay here again. Prices are pretty cheap for all that you get. I would bring my family here.

Rooms were big and clean. Bed was comfortable. Close to Duvall. Breakfast had lots of options but not so good food. Overall was a good stay. There are plenty of close places to eat. Would stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and loved it, I have not stayed at any other hotel in Key West. Their accommodations and prices make a trip to KW so pleasant… but this time I brought a disabled friend and it was quite different. Did extensive planning, got a handicap room, but when we arrived, Only stairs up to the lobby so my friend couldn't pay, no rail at the toilet, so my friend had to have help getting up, there is a lift that goes into the pool, they told me there wasn't one, so I guess It's broke or they didn't want to bother to uncover…this was quite an embarrassing stay for my friend…

Stayed here for fantasy fest. A bit of a walk to the happening end of Duval (0.9 mile) but it was do able. It's not a new hotel but everything in my room (suite) was in good shape and worked. Hotel safe was a key only. plenty of outlets in the room. Sitting area and a table in the room. Pool was perfect. Breakfast was typical and the dining area is a bit small so I could see it getting very busy in there. WiFi was password only access, no website log in. Internet was plenty fast (+50 mbps) for anything you'd need. I normally bring a Fire stick and the TV has HDMI ports but they are impossible to get to due to the location and that the TV is bolted to the wall. Parking lot was kind of empty when I was there but it appears there's enough parking for the hotel but they say it's not guaranteed. Couple of restaurants nearby. No problems with the bed. No complaints. I'd stay again.

The property was off the main tourist area and the pool was inside the property an not exposed to the traffic. The staff was attentive and pleasant. I would recommend this place to family and friends. The breakfast was good, but the bananas were over-ripe!

Stayed 4 nights at the Best Western Hibiscus and they were wonderful. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are HUGE and very clean. The beds are extremely comfortable!! Breakfast has a very nice selection of items to chose from. The location is fabulous. Very close to the attractions, but just far enough away from the noise. I WILL stay here anytime I'm in Key West!!!

I booked this hotel based on conversations in the KW travel forum and of course the reviews here. We stayed for 4 nights last week. Extremely happy with the room, (as others have commented 2 queen beds, micro, fridge, safe). Staff were pleasant and very conscious of covid protocols.. Complimentary breakfast worked for us. The staff in charge of the daily breakfast worked hard tk keep the area clean and tidy. We utilized the large CLEAN pool with plenty of tables, lounges and sun beds, every day Location was terrific. If you had enough of eating/walking along Duval, there were plenty of places to eat within a few blocks in either direction. The Tipsy Rooster a combo liquor store/bar with nightly entertainment was one block east, CVS was 2 blocks west, Mallory Square was approx 1.3 miles away. I'd stay here again.

I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. Rooms were VERY CLEAN and kept clean by the outstanding room service. Hotel grounds and pool were immaculate. Pool is HUGE goes to 8', plenty of umbrellas, tables and chairs all around. Rooms come with a safe, refrigerator, micro wave, coffee maker, free wi fi, nice tv and TWO sinks. Shower was hot and plenty of water pressure. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning worked perfectly, very quite at night and a very comfortable sleep. Hotel staff were very helpful and always friendly. The free breakfast provided was excellent, plenty of good choices. Breakfast area was kept well stocked and constantly cleaned, again the staff here is on their A game. They even had a water station so you could refill your water bottles and save the plastic waste. Hotel is exactly 1 mile from the Sunset Pier which is basically where everything is in downtown Key West. It's a very short bike ride or walk to just about everything you'd want to see. Speaking of bikes they also have plenty of space to secure your bikes in the parking lot, as well as scooter parking should you rent them. DO NOT let the 1 star fool you, this is an EXCELLENT place to stay.

This place is one block off of the west end of Duval, so you don't get all the noise and traffic, but yet you're close to everything! Room was clean, pool area was nice, staff was pleasant, and the price was right (booked 6 months out)

at this point, having stayed here 2=3x a years for over a decade, i am very familiar (and comfortable) with this hotel and the staff. obviously, as a frequent returning guest, i must be a satisfied customer. there is no shortage of other options where i could choose to stay, but keep coming back here. some of the reasons? the location- one block off of Duval Street (the quiet end of Duval)....near the Southernmost Point and close to pretty much anything else I am looking for (but it is Key West so nothing could be that far away). The facility itself- exceptional pool, clean, spacious rooms, plenty of parking (if you have been to Key West before you know this is important)....all this and more. Friendly, professional staff....decent breakfast each morning....bottom line, i will be back in a few months.

This is our group second stay and we are planning on doing this trip every year, but the only inconvenience is that the pool are is closed too early, we are all adults and we love to enjoy the pool at night as well. Other than that, no complaints, clean and good service..

Made a quick trip to Key West and couldn't have pick a better place to stay. Great location, one block off Duvall Street. Hotel was very clean and very comfortable. Would absolutely stay again! Until we meet again!

Our first time in Key West. This was an excellent choice for our hotel stay. Super clean and neat place with lots of amenities. Large rooms and comfy beds. Great pool area and hot breakfast. One block from Duval St and 2 blocks from the southern most point in US. All employees were super nice and accommodating. Highly recommended. We will definitely go back.

We uber'd from the airport to this hotel, were greeted and checked in promptly. The room was spacious, had good wifi, and good water pressure. A hot breakfast was available, the food was plentiful, and the entree changed every day. We wished we had spent more time around the pool for it was appointed with comfortable chaise lounges! The location was perfect for exploring - right on Simonton street, one block from Duvall. We walked everywhere and did not need a car. About a half block south of the hotel, there's a convenient store with food, wine, sodas, etc. and a liquor store located just a couple of doors down. We needed an uber one day to travel off the island and one was readily available. Definitely would stay here again to enjoy Key West.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel then this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a clean, affordable, conveniently located hotel then this is it!! It is an older hotel so at first I had flashbacks from when I was a kid, but I was pleasantly surprised. The motel was very clean and housekeeping visited everyday to tidy up and bring fresh towels. It was very quiet and we were never disturbed by outside noise. The breakfast was an added bonus especially if you were in a hurry for the an excursion. We did not bring a car and were able to get everywhere by foot easily. We took an Uber a couple times if we had dinner reservations somewhere nice. There is a bike rental around the back corner and a little convenience store. The pool was great for an afternoon dip. I highly recommend.

This was our first trip to Key West and this was an excellent place to stay. I'm a Diamond Select member and we got a decent rate. The staff thanked us for our loyalty and made us feel like king and queen. Our room was great. It was very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time in Key West. We arrived 3 hours prior to check in and was pleasantly greeted and allowed to occupy our very quiet room which we had previously requested. The room was very large and clean with very comfortable beds. The included buffet breakfast was very good with hot and cold items. The hot items changed daily. The pool is very large and clean. The hotel is one block from Duval Street (away from all the noise) We walked everywhere and had no need for a car or bike. Fort Zachary Taylor has a beautiful beach with changing rooms and food stand for $2.50 per person to enter.

Had a great stay in key west hibiscus hotel. Clean, great service from staff. Wonderful breakfast menu. great location for activites and sight seeing. Front desk very helpful when needing transportation info. Would stay again.

We arrived the day TS Fred was passing by and were warmly greeted when we checked in. The room was what we were expecting and the pool area was very nice. Was a tad disappointed that the hot tub was out of commission, but things happen. The free breakfast buffet was typical fair but was hot and tasty both mornings we were there. There are so many things to do nearby and just about all are in walking distance. It is in a quieter part of the island which also made it nice.

We were very happy with the room size, price, and location at the Best Western. Its just over 1 mile to Mallory Square which is a pretty short walk. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Key West.

I reserved my hotel room 4 months in advance for lobsterfest 2021, On Thursday, the day before my reservation, Lobsterfest was cancelled due to approaching tropical storm Fred. I called to cancel and explained why and they flatly refused to cancel the reservation. I won't let myself be put in that situation again.

We stayed a week at the Hibiscus. Our room was beautiful, clean and very spacious. There were two separate vanities…one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom which allowed for plenty of room for both my husband and I to get ready. The bed was very comfortable. A hot and cold breakfast was available each morning. The pool was a very nice size with both lounge chairs for sunbathing and covered areas for relaxing in the shade. There were nice patio areas as well by the pool. The hotel is located in the southern part of Key West and only one street over from the famous Duval Street. We found it to be within walking distance to everything notable. However, some took us about 30 minutes. We highly recommend this hotel and if we return to the keys we will definitely stay again.

I really can't say enough positive things about the staff and hotel. Nice small hotel in a convenient location. We were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go, and there is a Duval Loop bus stop a block away for anyone who prefers not to walk as much. Very pretty pool with shade available, we enjoyed this very much. The front desk team was exceptionally accommodating. We were given an upgraded pool view room on arrival (possibly because we were Best Western Rewards members). When we had to shorten our reservation by a day because of a tropical storm, they were understanding and helpful. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of pillows, towels, coffeemaker, and even microwave popcorn. Housekeeping works hard and is doing a great job. Breakfast was kept neat and well stocked, with the usual variety such as eggs, sausage/bacon, yogurt, fruit, waffles, breads, etc. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. The hotel and its staff exceeded our expectations, would recommend to anyone visiting Key West.

Great location, great price! The rooms are clean, nice pool, and excellent breakfast! They cleaned my room everyday without requesting(which hasn't happened during the pandemic), and breakfast was back to normal. Thank you, BW Hibiscus Team for a great stay!

We love Key West and brought the extended family this time. The location is great and very walkable to all the hot spots and there was a CVS a couple blocks away. If you're not a walker, Uber was another great option. Pool area was beautiful with cabanas, lounge chairs and lots of tables, rooms seem to have been recently renovated with nice decor and engineered flooring, and was spacious enough for our family of 4. We had three rooms in all, m y mother in-law is disabled, and no problems getting around in her wheelchair. The front desk was great about accommodating our party of 10. Considering we're still following Covid guidelines, the breakfast area was well maintained with sanitizer on all the tables. They even have a water bottle filling station just outside the door next to the ice machines.

The Hibiscus is located in a quiet neighborhood but close to gift shops, restaurants, and the Southern most point in the US. Staff was always helpful. We enjoyed a relaxing dinner (that we ordered from off the premises) near the swimming pool.

I booked online because of the price and location. Even though the reviews were good I was still a little apprehensive. No need for that!! This room was perfect! It was very clean, beds were comfy, pillows were great! Room was quiet but close to everything. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and included sausage, bacon, waffles, muffins, yogurt, fruit, etc. The pool was never crowded and was always clean. The staff was always friendly and helpful, even when we had to check in at 4 am due to flight delays. This is an affordable, comfortable option for Key West! You can't go wrong!

We enjoyed this property because it was close enough to the "action" of Duval Street and Mallory Square, but since we were traveling with our kids, we enjoyed being somewhat secluded from the nightlife as well. The pool was a wonderful little oasis for us since we only did one beach day. The rooms were spacious and the layout was nice with an extra sink outside the bathroom. Service was friendly and there was always a cart nearby that I could grab an extra towel or laundry bag if needed.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Convenient; could walk to most places in Key West. Room comfortable, amenities were great, only breakfast that were hot and plentiful with lots of choices, etc. Staff were superb!

Clean, newly remodeled hotel. We had a great stay here. The staff was friendly, the price was great, considering everything else in Key West was at least double the price. The room we had (125) was very clean and huge! I didn't expect so much room. The pool area is beautiful and kept very clean as well. If we have occasion to return to the area, I'll definitely be back to this hotel. The beds were comfortable, there were extra towels in the room (for use at the pool, I assume) and the air conditioning worked great (thank goodness!) Hotel was walking distance to everything for us. We went to all the tourist areas, including walking Duval St and it wasn't an issue (though it was HOT). I highly recommend this hotel.

Exceeded our expectations for a short stay in Key West. The room was roomy, beds were comfortable, and location was walkable to most places we wanted to see. The pool area was nice for the hotter part of the day. No extra resort fees or parking charges made the value even better.

We were guests at this hotel for 2 nights. Close to the southern part of Duval St. and the southern most point. Our room was large and very comfortable. Loved the "old Florida" look of our room. For me the bed could have been more comfortable, but that is an individual preference. The pool is nice and lots of palm trees surrounding it. Never had a problem finding a parking spot. The staff was friendly. While they do offer a free breakfast to go bag, we enjoyed on of the many restaurants near bye.

We stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus (BWH) after the glowing recommendations from TripAdvisor due to the value. And what a value it is. My DH and I can't believe it doesn't have a higher rating. The room was large, we had a King bed, also had a couch, refrigerator, and microwave. The room was very clean. The pool was warm and we were in it every day - a novelty to me. The only issue we had with the hotel was with the WiFi. They were upgrading their system but failed to tell us so we lost WiFi one night (and never had it in our room again) and had to go to the desk the next day to find out what happened. From then on we had to be outside to use the WiFi which we did at the tables under the awning at the pool. Annoying, but not a big deal.

clean, quiet, great value, and fantastic location!! Had an ADA room with two queen beds which was around the corner from the office, and overlooking the pool. You could barely hear people in the pool. The room was very clean. The hotel is one block from Duval Street, a block and a half from the Butterfly Conservatory, and two blocks from the beach (don't remember which beach).

Clean and comfortable room with wi-fi, coffee-maker, on-site parking, and pool. Derron at front desk was fantastic and gave us dining and other tips. Most cost-effective and convenient property in Key West.

The hibiscus is a very nice hotel. The room rates were VERY fair. They are within a few blocks of the Southern Most Point, the ocean, shops. It is perfectly located. The rooms were nice. The bathroom was spacious. The pool was well taken care of. We will definitely stay here again.

just spent 4 days/3 nights at this hotel and most definitely will return in a few months. truth is that i have been staying here a couple of times every years for several years. staff is always eager to help and very appreciative of us being there. rooms and property kept clean and modern looking. and the pool....well the pool alone is worth the drive down here. so glad to see things finally getting back to normal as COVID becomes part of the past (hopefully).

Beautiful motel, one block from Duvall St. and 3 from southernmost point marker. Easy walking distance to all attractions.. Walking rom one end of Duvall Street to the other is about 30 minutes. Helpful staff, free parking, and free breakfast. I would stay here again.

Clean and safe. Everything worked as advertised. No issues whatsoever. Free parking, free breakfast, free coffee. No resort fees. Nice employees. Safe area and a good location for walking to attractions nearby. Several great restaurants within walking distance too. The accommodations were simple but the price was right and we had a great time. I highly recommend this place and we will be back. Reserve well in advance and in the off season for a better rate. Upgrade to a suite with extra space and room to relax. We choose that when booking and it worked out very well. Glad we did. Pool area was nice and clean as well. Daily housekeeping each and everyday.

Came back!! I said I would in my previous review. It's honestly a great hotel. Its clean, cold, and so spacious. The pool area is a great place to hang out. The location is perfect because it's not in the heart of Duval Street but it's still completely walkable. I can't wait to go back!!!

I generally avoid giving 5 stars because people will think the review is fake lol. But the BW Hibiscus team deserves it. I'm a pretty loyal BW guest - since I love my elite points. I believe this best western has most other locations beat - at least all the BWs I've stayed at. It's a lovely property - old school Florida style, but clean, welcoming, very pretty. Staff is quite responsive when you need help. Bed was comfortable, room quiet. Pool area was lovely. Only "negative" was the still missing-in-action breakfast buffet - with every restaurant on the island back to full operation, I'm feeling like they're lagging a bit in restoring the original breakfast offerings - or at least expanding to a few more "grab and go" choices to those of us hoping for something lower calorie than melted cheese/egg/sausage sandwiches or blueberry muffins and sweetened yogurt. But they make a very good effort and I do appreciate that they provide this - they could just provide nothing at all. Although I'm tempted by all the adorable b&bs in the area, I will keep returning to BW: I never stay anywhere else. Great job Hibiscus team - and thank you!

Girls trip for 5 nights. The location was perfect for us on the southern part of the island but close enough to walk to Mallory Square and other tourist spots. Extremely professional and helpful staff. Pool area and property was very well maintained. The room was large and appeared to be newly renovated. Highly recommend lobster pizza and coconut shrimp at small restaurant directly on the ocean at southernmost hotel area a block away. We were very pleased with the reasonable price and would recommend this hotel to friends.

This is an excellent place to enjoy Key West. It is close to all the major attractions. The rooms were nice, spacious and clean. They offered a hot and cold breakfast every morning. The only issue is there is no elevator, so bring your muscles or request a room on the first floor.

Hotel was easy to find. Check in was easy, fast and the Jamaican young man that checked us in was very helpful and I enjoyed talking with him. Our room was very spacious and contained two very comfortable queen beds, chair with ottoman and table. It also had a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. I am a germ freak and take Lysol wipes with me to wipe all surfaces. I have to say, I was very impressed with how clean our room was. The room was cleaned daily and we were supplied an ample supply of towels. The housekeeping staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was a cold grab and go bag due to COVID, which was very appreciated. I just have to say this was one of the best lodging experiences I have had.

What a perfect place to stay! We were able to walk everywhere - beaches, restaurants, bars; very close to Duvall St. Our room was clean, and very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and having an extra sink area outside of the bathroom was super convenient. The pool area was a peaceful place to enjoy my morning coffee, and it was never too crowded or noisy. We had our room cleaned every day with lots of fresh towels, which was refreshing since all the hotels I've been staying in this past year did not have housekeeping due to COVID. This motel is like a little oasis and I will definitely stay again if I'm in Key West.

The motel is right around the block from Southernmost Point and Duval Street. We were able to walk to most places and restaurants from the motel, as most of the places we wanted to visit were within a mile.

This is a great location with a beautiful pool area, very large, clean, nice and comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly. They offered to help with my bags at check in. That hasn't happened in a very long time! There is ice and purified water bottle filling fountain available 24/7. I will stay here again.

My wife and I drove down to Key West for the day, not planning on spending the night. We noticed the Best Western and asked if they had any rooms available. So glad we did, we ended up staying 2 nights. Very happy with our stay! Very clean and excellent service.

We loved this little gem of a hotel in Key West. We really enjoyed our stay. Convenient to area sites and very close to Duval where all the "action" happens. Although we typically stay on the other end of Duval, I would highly recommend this hotel. There are no elevators at this 2-story hotel, so if that's an issue you need to request a first floor room. We lucked out with a first floor room and were able to park our car almost right outside our door. It was perfect!

We planned a getaway "girl's trip" to recharge after the long lockdown. We chose the Hibiscus for two reasons, value and location. What a pleasant surprise to find out just how nice this hotel was. It was very clean. The staff was amazing. Debbie, the manager, is a treasure. We were close to everything and it was quiet . The pool was beautiful. The rooms were large and we never felt we are bumping into each other. Customer service in this motel is key from Debbie, front desk, maintenance, housekeeping. Everyone had one thing in mind....the guest. I would definitely stay here again and would (and have) recommend it to anyone traveling to Key West. This is the best Best Western I have ever stayed in. It may be a little dated for some people, but even that added to its charm.

We stayed four nights and did not have any issues. The hotel is very close to the Southernmost point. We walked from the Hotel several times to Mallory square and Duval Street. We also walked from the hotel to Salute and the beach.

Places to stay in Key West are not cheap. This Best Western has all the basics at a reasonable price. The room was clean and spacious, and equipped with a mini-fridge and a microwave. There was a decent pool area with lounge chairs and some tables & cabanas, as well as a hot tub. There was an ice machine on premises too. Easy parking in the on-site parking lot. Although it is not on the beach, it is in walking distance to numerous restaurants. Would consider to stay here again if visiting the area.

This was our second time staying here and it didn't disappoint. We had a first floor room, with a separate living area. Our room was great, comfortable beds, and a great a/c. Housekeeping was very friendly, and I was glad they had housekeeping since most places don't have it now due to Covid. You could go down each morning and get your breakfast bag, coffee and juice(the girl working there every morning was very nice). It's a great pool area(some chairs could use replacing due to wear). I would definitely come back!

We stayed from May 4-11, 2021 at Best Western Hibiscus Motel. We were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary. All of the properties in Key West were stupidly expensive, and this place was one of the least expensive, even though it averaged over $300 a night. Check in was smooth enough, and our room (#232) was very cute and HUGE, and smelled musty (typical Key West room aroma). Just outside our room was a huge balcony patio with three umbrella tables. That was a nice place to sit & have our breakfast. It was also nice to have a safe in our room, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The AC was good, and that was so important with upper 80s temps and high humidity. Very nice pool area, but could've used more deck chairs, as some people reserved chairs all day long with towels, but never actually sat in the darn things. Our floor was so dirty that my husband's socks were black from just walking around our room. Yuck! I complained about it, and the skinny young desk clerk told me he didn't like my attitude. (Yeah, I was really impressed with him too.) Most of the housekeeping crew spoke very little English, and communicating with them was difficult, so I just took some wet towels and pretty much cleaned our floors myself. One night, I got up to use the bathroom, and there was a GIANT cockroach on the bathroom floor. I probably woke our neighbors screaming. I sprayed him profusely with the disinfectant spray that I'd bought to knock down the musty smell of our room. I wish we had gotten a photo of him but he was still wiggling when my husband grabbed him and threw him in the toilet. If you google "American Cockroach", you'll see exactly the type of icky thing I'm talking about. There was also an issue with the lock on the restroom by the pool. Your key card was supposed to unlock the door (that's what the sign said, anyway), but it didn't. The girl at the desk said there had been some issue with some local "getting in there", and they had to change the lock setting, so now the guests had to come to the office to borrow a community key (we nicknamed the "BP Key") in order to use the pool restroom. This was a little less than deluxe, and I think it was a sort of shabby fix to a simple problem. You would think they would be a little more concerned about guests peeing in the pool? Anyway, there was no soap in the pool bathroom two days in a row. Not a good thing for a place so preoccupied with mask wearing.

Our room was soo big and the entire hotel was clean. We really enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was good comparing it to other hotel breakfasts during covid. We were able to walk to the southernmost point. We would definitely stay here again. My only kind of bad thing was my daughter accidentally spilled her apple juice in the eating area. we did our best to clean it up and my husband apologized to the worker cleaning it up and she didn't say anything just looked like she was mad (which I'm sure it was frustrating but it was an accident and we were all sorry about it our daughter even said sorry)

Great area in walking distance to Duvall would def recommend to anyone visiting also room was spacious and clean pool was nice and the people working were very nice even with Covid food truck across street was really good too

I would highly recommend the Best Western in Key West. It was a great location not to close to all the action but within walking distance. A scooter location right around the corner and some food options as well. Really enjoyed the pool area. The breakfast was very nice considering the Covid times. Everyone was very nice and the quality was great. The front desk personnel was very friendly and did a great job. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Hibiscus Motel. The pool area is great, very nice and relaxing. The rooms were very spacious and clean. I loved that our room had two sinks so we had a his and hers area to get ready each day. The room was clean and it's close to Duval St. and other areas of interest for walking. It was also very resonable compared to other places in the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

The Hibiscus Hotel is such a gem and a great place to stay in Key West. It was very clean and the room has been updated with nice flooring and there were two sinks for use (one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom). The bed was very comfortable with a variety of pillows to choose from to find one you might like. It is easily accessible and is an open air motel with free parking. We had no problem having a place to park, which is hard to find in Key West. It offered a grab and go breakfast in a brown paper bag; offering a hot or cold option. Although we did not use it, the pool looked very nice with cabanas, hot tub and a pretty large pool for the area. The hotel is located a block off Duval Street and a block or so from the water. We could walk to lots of places. We stayed in Room 217 which was on the second floor and very nice. The housekeeping staff does a nice job. Check in was a breeze and easy.

This was a girls trip. The location of this hotel was perfect. Nike riding or walking distance to everything including the Duval st loop. Pool and atmosphere were amazing. Friendly staff. Food was decent. Sleep was great. Lots of room in room.

The BW Hibiscus is a GREAT PLACE to stay when visiting Key West...Near some great restaurants and close to a good number of Key West attractions (and the Tour Trolley stop). Reasonable rates make it hard to beat...also a great pool and Hot Tub. Covid restrictions are an annoyance, but the Hotel has no choice but to follow mandated guidelines.

Spectacular location in Key West near Duval Street. Very nice motel with relaxing pool area. Still have the mask requirements in the lobby and only take out breakfast which is annoying compared to other locations. Close walk to Southernmost point. Don't bother driving as a taxi or Uber is extremely convenient. Waited only a minute or two each trip although the return trip from a fun night at the Hogs Breath Saloon I don't recall as clearly. We'll be back.

The positive here is that the room was spacious and clean. I really enjoyed having the second sink outside the bathroom. The location was very good for us and it was nice and quiet. We probably would have walked to more locations but we had my elderly sister along so the rental car was put to use. The negative is that my 80 y/o sister purchased a few small items at the Butterfly Conservatory and inadvertently left them in the room upon checkout. I had to call twice and was told they were not turned in to lost and found. This is extremely disappointing and concerning. It isn't as though these were expensive items, but they meant a lot to my sister who is on a fixed income. I would have gladly paid to have them mailed home to us. This certainly marred an otherwise lovely stay.

Beware wonderful place but there is no elevator to second floor you must use stairs. Great location in historic district. Very clean. We used Uber for short trips and taxis was also available. You can walk as well. The shower did not have safety hand holds but was clean.

This hotel is old school. They still have a front desk, they still have room service everyday, they still have a nice staff, and they still have breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised at how centrally located it was, very convenient to walk where we wanted to go and leave the car safely parked at the hotel.

This hotel was amazing! Beautiful inside and out. Pricey but I think everything in key west is. The hotel was within walking distance of duval street. Room was spacious and comfortable. Check in and check out was a breeze.

Just returned from a four night stay at this hotel. Chain hotels are at a premium in the Keys and this Best Western offered large rooms, convenient location, and at a fair price. The hotel was quiet and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is perfect for a Key West visit! The Hibiscus is in a great location, accessible to everything, very close to the water. Great location for family, my kids loved the pool. We would 100% stay here again and recommend it to friends.

This hotel is a little old but clean, we didn't have time to try the pool, we were concerned about parking but plenty available, nice walk to duval , also drove to the state park on our way out, very nice

The hotel is very reasonably priced considering it is one block from ducal street. The pool area was large and clean Our biggest concern going in, was whether it would be noisy at night with the rooms facing the pool and with people coming back from the bars, but that was not an issue when we stayed. The hotel still offers daily housekeeping services (which was something we did not receive at another hotel in marathon). Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again with the family.

This was an average hotel, that utilizes it's location well. We were easily within walking distance of downtown, restaurants and bars. Room was clean and comfortable. Definitely quiet, even though we overlooked the outdoor pool.

Motel was very affordable for staying in the Keys and the quality of the motel was top notch. Just one block away from Duval street and at the Southernmost point end of Key West where it's a little more quiet from all the night life. Room was very spacious. Will definitely be staying here again on our next return trip.

I was very pleased with everything in the motel. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. The courtyard pool was a tropical oasis with plenty of seating and nice warm water. The location was another plus. Only a couple blocks walk to a beach or one block to Duval street. I would love to stay here again!

When we walked in the lobby we were never greeted with a smile or even a welcome. The guy at the front desk could not find our reservation so he was asking a lot of questions about the booking very rudely. "Did you book this room today? Did you book it a while ago? I I did tell him that it was originally booked under my previous name but as soon as I realized it I called the Best Western Rewards Program and had it changed. At that point he started to act very irritated. I had the confirmation that the name was changed but he did not. He continued to search for the booking but still could not find the booking and when the other girl at the desk asked what he was looking for he said "the confirmation sheet" she said it's right here and handed it to him. She apparently pulled it out of the pile when I stated my previous name. He rolled his eyes and took the paper out of her hand. He never apologized for his mistake. He gave us our room number and never told us about breakfast, housekeeping, pool hours etc...We got to the room and it smelled so musty/moldy we could not even breath in there. I asked the housekeepers if all the rooms smelled like this and they said "no". They tried to cover up the smell with sprays and by putting air fresheners in the air conditioning unit but we knew the smell of the spray would wear off. We went back to the front desk and voiced our complaint so he took us to another room which still had a faint smell of must/mold but was much better. He tried to say the smell is from the humidity and people leaving the doors open in the room but I live in Florida and I have stayed in many other hotels in Key West and no other room ever smelled like this. The rooms are recently remodeled but very basic. Housekeeping came one day but they never even cleaned the bathroom. I dropped something by the bed and when I bent over to pick it up off the floor there was about a 1/4 inch of dust by the head of the bed and behind the nightstand. The pool area was very nice but the pool was heated and way too warm. I love a warm pool but you couldn't even cool off. The hotel is closest to the Southernmost Point so it is quite a walk to Duval St. which we didn't mind except in the evening when we went out to dinner otherwise with the heat we would have been a sweaty mess. The cab ride was $14 to Duval St.. The cab drivers are awesome! This is a budget hotel so if you're on a budget stay here otherwise spend a few more dollars and stay elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here last week. We had room 104 which is right by the pool. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The location is fantastic for walking around key west. We spent alot of time in the pool area as well. Parking is free and there are no resort fees, both of which are big advantages for staying here. A couple suggestions I would have for the property to invest in new bedding, and improve the wi-fi service. We will be happy to stay here again.

Love this hotel! Very nice, clean and large rooms with two sink areas that was very convenient for our family. Beds were comfortable. This hotel is so quite never hear doors slamming or people walking by your room.The pool area was just beautiful with lounge beds and lounge chairs. Great location to Duvall street and other locations. I would give this 10 stars if I could.

Boy, I have always been a huge fan of this place...stayed several times in recent years. Great location; just nice enough to be comfortable. Always a reasonable price. Pool is nice. Well, this time our stay was nearly unbearable. As soon as we opened the door, a strong odor of must hit us like a brick wall. Ok...not so uncommon in Florida & particularly in the Keys. Figured we could deal with it. Made a special trip to CVS for a can of Lysol; sprayed the A/C unit inside & outside. Sprayed the dresser drawers which were just reeking of must, thereby unusable. Basically, sprayed the entire room. Tried to keep the door open now & then to allow fresh air in. It just didn't go away and it was severe. I am confident if anyone with a breathing issue or asthma stayed here, they would be in big trouble. The place was fully booked & so was most of KW; didn't have time to deal with trying to make a change and deal with the hassle of trying to find another place to stay or get our $$ back on a prepaid room. Sadly, this place has dropped off my go-to list of KW faves....at least until they freshen it up. (BTW, I am pretty sure most of the rooms are fine but we had an unlucky draw & got the smelliest room.)

The Best Western Hibiscus is in a great location! One block from the excitement on Duval Street so very quiet but a quick walk to everything you would want. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds. Very convenient to have the mini fridge and sink outside of the bathroom. The pool area was perfect with plenty of table seating and lounges. The pool was warm and inviting. Reasonably priced for the area. Would stay there again without hesitation!!

5 minute walk to Southernmost post. Deli just down the block Good size room, updated, very clean. Exactly as photo shows. Good sized pool. Accommodated an 2 hour early check in. Covid limited breakfast to a brown bag. Recommended.

No complaints here!!! And it can't get anything better than this. When researching where to stay, all surrounding places were either double the price of what I paid/night, loaded with fees, and not the best reviews. This place hands down was the best choice. Dont let the “one star” hotel fool you, it could definitely be a 3-4 star Easy and simple check in. We booked two rooms and they had our rooms right next to each other. NO resort fees or Parking. The rooms were big, spacious, and clean. Beds were comfortable and house keeping came daily. Our shower had a leak, nothing big but we notified the front desk and they had it fixed that day. There's a decent sized heated pool and hot tub with cabanas and chairs around it. Though I think we could've gotten away with not heating the pool when it's already warm out. Great location!! Easy walking distance to everything! 5 min walk to the most southern point and not much longer to Duval Street where everything is. Easy walk to 2 small beaches or short 5 minute drive to either Fort Zachary or Smathers Beach. Was relatively quiet too. Overall was a great experience and will definitely return here again when in Key West. I will refer everyone to here.

We had a wonderful stay at this Best Western and I would definitely recommend it for an affordable option in Key West. No resort fees, beautiful pool area that is BYOB, located on the quiet side of Duval bar scene, but still accessible to many things. (I could walk to the other end of Duval in 20 minutes without stops, but heartily recommend renting bikes). Housekeeping provided daily service. We had a poolside room which was of good size. We visited for six days, a family of three adults, and had room to spread out with three large suitcases. It does need some TLC in updates to room bedding (pillows were terribly bulky and uncomfortable), cleaning of the tile floor in our room (our feet were black from walking barefoot in room), and better breakfast (same hot or cold choices of microwavable sandwich or packaged muffin, etc). At this time, face mask is required in lobby only and strictly enforced which was fine with us. The pool area is a huge bonus with an assortment of cabanas and chaise lounges, tables and chairs, beautiful palm trees and foliage. Even during a packed spring break, we could find seating when we wanted it. My husband worked remotely in the morning at a table close to our poolside room. Internet is very adequate. All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay.

This was probably the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in and I stayed in Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Iraq! My two year old had his shoes off for 10 minutes and it looked like he never wore shoes and lived on a dirt floor!

i have been staying at this hotel 3-4 times a year for several years (with the exception of 2020 due to covid), and i will be back in a few months. this hotel never fails to satisfy....great location, friendly environment, nice amenities, excellent staff, awesome pool. like is said, i will be back again in a few months. thank you Hibiscus Inn.

This was our first visit to Key West, and will definitely not be our last. The hotel is very nice for what you pay to stay here. Due to COVID-19, our complimentary breakfast was a ready-made pick-up bag with your option being a cold or hot breakfast. What was put inside the bags was more than enough to start your day. (These are picked up in the front office.) Our room was quite large with two queen beds, a spare chair, desk, microwave and mini-fridge. Plenty of space for two people with lots of closet space and an in-room safe. The room was a bit dated, but always clean. The heated outdoor pool was nice but did notice that the garbage can near the pool was often full. The hotel was within a good walking distance from most of the action on Duval St. We loved the walk, day and night to get to our various activities. My only complaint was there was one young man in the front office who seemed bothered if you asked him any questions. I wanted to print out my plane tickets and due to COVID protocols, there was not an office area to do this. The man at the front desk said the day before that they would do it for us, yet this young man acted like he didn't know what I was asking of him, and refused to print them out for me. He also didn't care if people came in/out of the office without a mask. This would not alter my opinion of this hotel, but the people hired should be more accommodating. This is a nice hotel and a good price for the area. Parking is free.

We booked a weekend stay for a family girls' trip. The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean, the pool area was clean, the a/c was cold, the location was on the opposite side of the popular bars on Duval Street but completely walkable and the hotel was in a quiet neighborhood. The reason why I am giving it 3 stars is because there were certain parts of our VERY spacious room(with two sinks in two different places which was great for getting ready) that were in need of paint/repair/maintenance. The bottom of the bathroom door was worn and rusty and the tub had spots that were painted over. Will I stay there again? Absolutely but knowing it's not a 4 star establishment and the pros 100% outweigh the cons.

Booked this based on other reviews. Convenient location near Southernmost Point with free parking. Spent 3 nights here. We had a king suite - super large with living room, dining table, kitchenette, large bedroom, 2 sinks outside of door from toilet and bath - nice that multiple people can get ready at the same time. Grab and go breakfast in the lobby - choice of two options. We went to grocery one block away and got milk the night before and had breakfast in our room. Our room was upstairs above the lobby - very quiet. Older property - outside entrance. Furniture not comfortable, needs updating. Butterfly Conservatory nearby. Several restaurants within easy walking distance. Only downside - expensive compared to mainland, but Key West prices are high.

Great place to stay. Clean, well decorated, comfortable room with well maintained courtyard pool. Good grab and go breakfast due to Covid 19. Great location with Duvall street next street over.. Excellent value definitely would stay here again if at Key West.

We had a kinda room and it was plenty big. The hotel is older but recently remodeled and very well maintained. The pool area is fantastic and it is within walking distance to cafes, duval street, and beaches. Plus FREE parking, and there are plenty of spaces.

Room was great, big, and clean. It is walking distance to anything you want to do. We loved the nice heated pool and the grab and go breakfast. Our room was cleaned everyday, and always had plenty of towels. This place was great and we will be back!

Liked the convenience to walk to town and restaurants. Quiet but room was a little musty. Pool was clean but a little too warm. Convenient parking. Due to COVID had to go breakfast and it was good due to the circumstances. Staff was friendly. Would visit again.

Never having been to Key West before, I was dependent upon the Trip Advisor family to point me in the right direction. I decided on the Best Western Hibiscus based on price, location & the Trip Advisor reviews. After having just finished our three night stay, I wish we had stayed longer. Great location walkable to many areas of Key West, spacious rooms, nice HEATED pool. Two options for a bagged breakfast; coffee available all day. Housekeeping service provided daily. Parking lot not huge, but there did not appear to be any parking issues for guests during our Monday through Wednesday night stay. Ah, yes, I did entitle this review “Perfect in almost every way”. The one and only issue which was consistent throughout our stay: the internet connection was horrible. All said, I would stay at the Best Western Hibiscus again in a heartbeat.

Great location within walking distance of Duvall Street. Free parking available on site! No resort fees is a great plus. The rooms are beautifully renovated and very spacious. A very comfortable stay with a pool and hot tub on site. The only negative was the customer service. I had registered for 5 people and when I went to check in the guy gave me a hard time. I told him my youngest child is small and slept in a pack and play. It was a very annoying line of questioning upsetting the mood of the vacation for my family. I was also given a hard time for breakfast grab and go bag distribution. I was questioned why I was requesting an extra bag of food, the lady stopped and went to ask the same guy I spoke to previously. She told me the room says 4 people so why am I requesting 5. This is very annoying because during non covid times, the breakfast is a buffet and you can eat as much as you want. If they are going to be cheap with breakfast, they shouldn't offer it anymore. It was not a good way to start your morning.

Called ahead and was able to get early check in, the whole hotel was very clean, the pool was perfect, staff was remarkably friendly, housekeepers were very nice, overall a great value for such a beautiful place and I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to save a little money with a still luxurious Key West experience

The Front desk staff was accommodating and polite. They treated us with respect and we felt appreciated as guests. We arrived early and they allowed us to use the pool while we waited for our room. The pool area was wonderful and relaxing. The suite was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great place to stay!

The property is in a great location for access to many Key West points of interest. The heated pool & hot tub area is beautiful and well maintained. Grab & Go breakfast was good. What we didn't eat we saved for a snack later in the day. In room refrigerator and microwave was a plus. We will definitely stay with Best Western Hibiscus on our return trips.

The motel is prettier in person than the website. We had a very large room with 2 queen beds, fridge and microwave. I liked the extra sink outside the bathroom for its convenience. Pool area was pretty with palm trees and bed lounges and tables to eat breakfast. Rooms were cleaned every day. Breakfast was good under Covid rules. You told them if you wanted hot or cold. Check in was easy and everyone was pleasant. We parked our car at arrival and walked everywhere. Appreciate that they don't charge parking or other fees. Room rate and tax is it.

Now this is a vacation. Arrived to find great staff, clean rooms and a wonderful pool. 2 weeks of relaxation with access to Duval Street and the Southern Most area. Ample parking and the best Grab and Go breakfast of all the BW's we stayed at coming down. Hot or Cold. Hot has a breakfast sandwich (Bob Evans Sausage Egg and Cheese Muffin), fruit cup, OJ and BelVita biscuits. Cold has yogurt, OJ, fruit cup, BelVita biscuits and a muffin. There is NO SMOKING on the entire property, which is good. Don't know if it's just the time of year but not that many people use the pool so we basically had it to ourselves. Great time for the first week. Lets see what next week has in store.

Best deal I could find in Key West...lodging is very expensive. Place was clean, staff was great, lounging around the pool was awesome. The breakfast wasn't great but they were filling COVID protocol. Would recommend the hotel for anyone wanting to get a good nights sleep but be close to the action!

This location is clean, is in an awesome location, and made our trip to Key West easy and fun! The beds are VERY comfortable and the room stays dark for those mornings where it's a little tougher to get up and active :) highly recommend!

We took a parents only trip to Key West for Valentine's Day. Hibiscus was great, we had flight cancelations due to snow back home and they were will to help us. They all left us alone to have fun but were there if we needed anything! Made the trip just right!

This hotel is A perfect location within walking distance to pretty much everything you wanna do in Key West. The pool area was wonderful has crate beds to lounge on. The staff was very friendly I had no problems there I am a little partial to Best Westerns are the only places I stay. So I have several to compare them to and this one was in the top 10.

It's a great location but a very old motel. Got kicked out of the pool because it closed at 9 though we didn't make a peep. Grandpa working there was rurally unpleasant and agreed that we weren't causing any trouble but insured we leave. Don't stay here folks. The mattress was terrible.

This hotel is centrally located for all things in Key West! We walked everywhere. We were 6 blocks from the public beach and just minutes from ocean-view restaurants and the southernmost point. Head north and shop and eat at the many stores, bars and restaurants on Duval Street and end your day on Sunset Pier to watch beautiful sunsets. The hotel is clean and has comfortable beds. It would have been nice to have a variety of pillow options to suit personal preferences but that was a minor detail. The pool is nice with lots of seating options to enjoy the sun or shade. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Our room was very clean and spacious , the hot tub very nice, good and hot , Covid bagged breakfast was good . Two types hot sausage egg muffin or cold blueberry muffin either bag also had OJ ,fruit cup and breakfast bar , Coffee also tasty. Big plus hotel is on free bus loop.

We spent 8 great nights at the BW Hibiscus. Rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is slightly aged but very well taken care of. It was especially nice during Covid that they cleaned the rooms each day. The pool area was very nice. The bagged breakfast was better than a lot of the hotels I have been at during Covid.

We have stayed here before and loved it. This stay we had a king room. It was very clean but had a strong musty smell. Felt damp in there the entire time we were there. We didn't ask for another room which we probably should have. We also kept having problems with our keys not working. I think the problem was the actual door handle and lock.

Large, clean, comfortable rooms that appear to have been updated and renovated not too long ago. Cute pool area with plenty of chairs and cabanas. Located in a quiet a block from the end of Duval Street. No parking or resort fees. Best Western has frequent promotions that make this place an even greater value compared to the other surrounding hotels/inns. As much as I would want to stay more central on Duval St for future visits, I'd be too scared I wouldn't be as satisfied as I was with my stay here and would likely just continue to book here.

Loved the hotel. Clean and inviting with friendly staff. Room was larger than expected and was a welcomed change from a usual size. Pool and spa area are nice with plenty of chairs and tables to use. Hotel is 1 block off the quiet end of Duval st. Loved it and will stay there again when in key west.

Clean, comfortable Motel w a great location & modern decor. Safe area to walk day or night. We give it a much better rating because of its heated pool, spacious rooms, comfortable beds & great location. Only a block from the ocean. Price is very fair for its location. Surrounded by the higher priced resorts. Free Parking is a big plus! Walked to Southern Most Point, Duval Street & restaurants. We rented a small electric car to get to the state park beach, Mallory Square & Marina Restaurants. Bicycles & Scooters also available to rent nearby.

The Best Western Hibiscus Motel was exactly what we needed to enjoy our vacation. Located close to beaches, one block from Duval St. Clean, quiet place for my family to sleep, shower, relax at pool and unwind without spending a fortune.

We had a fabulous visit to the beautiful Hibiscus Motel. Staff was courteous and helpful. Our bag breakfast was great, especially sitting around the pool enjoying it. Our room and everything about it was clean and well maintained. We were on the second floor which for us was fine. Recommendations for the restaurant Two Friends was great, we went twice! No smoking signs were all over and when a visitor was smoking around the pool, the staff immediately were there and asked them to stop, which we very much appreciated. Price was good for Key West and location was great too! And we had free parking!! We will return!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location of this property is perfect....it's a block off Duval Street which is where all the action in Key West is...we walked almost everywhere which was very convenient. The property was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Staff were very rude, had an issue with the bill and reservation original check in time and date. Went to confront staff and called us rude. Then the next morning during breakfast service, overheard the staff snickering and talking poorly about us for being from another country. This place has the worse customer service I've ever had from a hotel. They were rude and unforgiving as well as unprofessional by not being willing to listen to the suggestions made from us on how to improve our stay quality. Room was not clean with dirt on the ground still, and the air conditioning machine made so much noise it prevented us from sleeping.

Got a great price by joining Best Western club, excellen location, good breakfast considering, heated pool but as other noted the odor. I got acclimated to it but my wife and daughter never did. The room was immaculately clean so it seemed but my daughter walked on the floor with her white socks on and they turned black.

This hotel is a great place to stay within walking distance of restaurants, shops, tours everything. We stayed 4 days and never used the car. Some nights we walked back to the hotel and always felt safe. Staff changed sheets and cleaned our room daily. I'd recommend this place. (Only thing is the room smelt a little musty but may be normal in the keys.)

I'm one of those people who spend a lot of time researching hotels before I go on vacation. This was a spontaneous trip so I didn't have much time to look into hotels. I chose this hotel based on the great reviews. My husband and I were happy with our choice. Most important to me is cleanliness and this motel was very clean. The staff were very nice and helpful. The location is great! We loved having the bike rentals right around the corner, the beach down the street, and closeness to Duval Street. It's not a fancy hotel (well actually it's a motel) but it's a great place to stay if you want a less expensive hotel option in Key West. I would stay there again.

We arrived to an empty parking lot but still needed to spend 10 minutes on a very detailed reservation time with GM, ok stupid but some cannot think without being told. Room was dated and lamps rusty and drains slow but worst of all was the musty smell we could not overcome. We loved being a couple of blocks from south ocean and a couple blocks of Duvall st.

Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable beds . The extra sink was a plus . We had champagne waiting for us since in was New Year's Eve , another nice surprise. Location couldn't be better ! Close to duval , golf cart rentals and grocery store for what ever you need . Will definitely stay ahain

Older outside room entrance motel that has been properly renovated and updated. I came here with my family of four for a vacation stay. TV, Internet and AC work perfectly. The rooms were clean and the two queen beds that were in the room were comfortable. Good historic downtown location. We would definitely stay here again. Great overall value. Unless you are looking to spend a lot more money for an upscale resort experience book here and you won't be disappointed.

I selected the Key West Best Western Hibiscus Hotel for a week-long reflection on the past year. Although 2020 had been exceptionally difficult for many; mine, and my family's, incomes were secure and our health minimally affected. Thus, I had much to be thankful for and the hotel provided a wonderful retreat close to St Mary - Star of the Sea church and rosary garden that I frequented.

We had an excellent experience. Pool area was beautiful. Although it's an older hotel with outside doors, it was well maintained. Our room was large with 2 queen beds and 2 lavatories ( one inside bathroom and one in the room. Had a refrigerator and a microwave. Due to COVID, there was a grab and go breakfast which was given to you each morning by a staff person. The staff kept the rooms, lobby area, and grounds very clean. They were always cleaning. We were pleasantly surprised that our rooms was cleaned daily and given clean towels (I've been to several hotel during Covid and typically the rooms were not cleaned unless you stayed a certain number of nights). We were able to part next to our room so it made unpacking and packing very easy. Great location!!! 2 blocks from Atlantic Ocean, 2 blocks from Southern Most Point, 1 block from Butterfly Garden, and 1 block from Duval Street. Restaurants in walking distance. Loved it and would go back. Price was excellent in comparison to other hotels. Old Town was great. There's also a free bus (Duval Loop) that we caught 1 block away and runs every 20 minutes.

Our family spent a night here while we were in key west. the rooms were very nice and clean and the location is perfect. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The pool area was were nice also

Arrived at noon for 3pm checkin. I was told there was no place to stow my bag until then. Really? Had to drag my 30 pound bag with me for 3 hours. Big bummer while I tried to enjoy Key West. In 42 years of professional and personal travel, this was a first. All hotels provide this simple courtesy, not this one

I spent 3 nights here and the location was perfect. They are walking distance to the most southern point and the Duval loop bus is just a two minute walk away from the place. This place also has free parking and a nice pool. Due to Covid-19, the continental breakfast was minimal but understandable. I would definitely stay here again if when i return to Key West.

We loved our stay here. Clean room, great pool area, delicious Cuban coffee in lobby, free parking, no resort fees, reasonably priced. Room smelled a little musty but it is very humid in Key West. Due to Covid no free hot breakfast. Will be staying here again to try it out after pandemic is over.

This was our 7th time staying at the Hibiscus. We have toured other hotels in Key West, but I am 100% confident in saying you won't find a better location/value/staff combination in Key West. The location is ideal. Close to Duval Street and the action, but a couple blocks away so it stays quiet when you want it to be. The value is exceptional. Substantial room size and pool (hard to find in Key West), with free breakfast with no resort fees (also hard to find in Key West). Finally, our favorite, is the dedicated and thoughtful staff. Many of the employees have been employed at this hotel for years. They are a big reason we continue to visit, and always look forward to seeing them. Their hard work and attention to detail does not go unnoticed! Thanks again BW Hibiscus for a great experience!

My family and friends decided to take a week stay for Thanksgiving down to Key West.the Best Western was Located on United and Simonton we were a block and a half away from a public beach and we were a nice walk away from the heart of old town Key West. The hotel was very conveniently located. We called the hotel several times prior to arrival because we had a lot of questions as a result of Covid, Bekar answer the phone each time and was truly patient and answered all of our questions. When we arrived at the hotel we checked in with Ivan and he was great! He gave the family we were traveling with and ours adjoining rooms right across from the pool. When you walk in to the hotel you are required to wear a mask and any time that you were outside of your room on the property you were required to wear a mask which was great. Additionally there is no smoking anywhere on the property so that meant you didn't see ashtrays and didn't have the cigarette smell as you walked. The rooms we had feature two queen size beds, the room had a long desk, a chair with ottoman. There was a separate Vanity area with sink, a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom/shower area had its own sink with the tub. There was two ice machines conveniently located right by the pool area near the entrance to the main lobby. Each morning we will go to the front desk and get grab and go bags which contained breakfast sandwiches, a yogurt, fruit cup, orange juice, and crackers. as mentioned, this hotel is conveniently located near a free bus called the Duval Loop which will take you into the heart of old town Key West. We did use the bus twice but we chose to walk more often than not. As a result of Covid we chose not to have housekeeping service in the room but we did get a fresh towel change when needed. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's cleanliness, location and outstanding customer service from staff.

This place is a hidden gem. I don't want too many people to know about it, but truthfully it's awesome. Free parking, clean spacious room, free breakfast and a fantastic warm pool shhhhh don't tell too many people. Oh yeah, it's right on Simonton at the end by the Atlantic Ocean and rates are very affordable. Great place, nice staff. Will definitely come back.

This is a very nice and well decorated Best Western with a tropical vibe. There were some very good restaurants nearby and it was about a half hour walk to Sloppy Joes. Even though it was during Covid restrictions, they provided guests with a very nice breakfast bag that included a juice, fruit, yogurt, granola bar and a breakfast sandwich.

This shouldn't be labeled a motel. Best Western exceeded our expectations. Wow! Oversize clean rooms and well manicured property . Great central location to eateries, beach, local deli shop and scooter rental .

We really enjoy that the staff is super willing to assist with an issue. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Duval Street and it's many attractions, museums, restaurants and shops. The hotel is also extremely close to the southernmost point and one of the few beaches in Key West!

We stayed 8 nights at 3 different hotels this trip to the Keys. 2 were very expensive, this one was not. For value, service, amenities and just a nice ambiance, Best Western Hibiscus wins. We chose this one as our last night after an all day trip to Dry Tortugas. For an older motel, the room was nicely decorated, very roomy, recently remodeled and very comfortable. The pool was great, something you seldom see anymore. Very large with a 9' deep end. Covered cabanas, lots of loungers and surrounded by lots of lush vegetation. Not on the ocean but it was a short walk away. What a surprise this place was, would definitely stay here again (longer next time).

While traveling with my 91 and 89 year old parents, we were lucky enough to have stumbled on this wonderful hotel. The staff was most accommodating and took all safety measures during this time of Covid to make quests feel safe. The room we stayed had a large walk in shower and the hotel provided a shower chair in case they needed it. The beds were large and comfortable queens with a spacious amount of room between the beds. The room included a comfortable chair and ottoman to lounge in as well as a desk. The room included a clean working refrigerator/freezer and microwave and the hotel even provided a bag of microwave popcorn. The pool area was incredibly attractive and hip -- cabanas were provided as well as other lounging areas and tables poolside and the landscape was lush and tropical. Within easy walking distance of Mallory Square and multiple restaurants. This is an excellent choice if you are visiting Key West!!

First impression walking into our room was it seemed very clean! Definite clean smell and fragrance. Bed was comfortable and clean. Liked having two sinks one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. Would've liked a screen on the bathroom window, but not a big deal. Kept the window closed most of the time except when showering to help get the heat and steam out. Close location to trolley stop #11, the Southern most point marker and Higg's Beach and Park. it's a couple miles from Mallory Square and all the hustle and bustle. We'd stay here again!

This was a perfect location for our visit to Key West. Located one block from Duval Street and one block from stop # 11 on the Duval Loop Bus line made getting around easier. The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory was also only a block away. The staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel is clean and our room was large & comfortable. Nice bedding & thick towels were provided. The pool area was awesome!!! It looked like a pool in a luxury hotel. We enjoyed sightseeing and coming back to relax with a swim. We would definitely stay there again!

Great location but not remodeled in some time. However, every interaction with staff was unpleasant from check in to checkout. I'm not a smoker but my wife is and the asked her to do so on the street and threatened a fine! Lots of options in Key West avoid this one if you want to feel welcome for your money!

This was my first time visiting Key West and I was born in Florida! So, I wanted it to be perfect and it was! I spent two and a half hours searching and reading reviews for hotels. I was a little leary about the word "Motel" but decided on BW Hibiscus because it was so close to everything. I was pleasantly surprised! It was perfect and super clean! The front desk was the BEST!! We got there a little late but was upgraded for free to a ground level room. The pool was right out front and it was beautiful. Very well maintained. The room was awesome!!! This will be my "go to" Motel when we come back to Key West. Thank you Best Western for making my stay a very memorable one.

Our rooms were nice enough, although the vanity was a bit worn. We just left our car at the hotel and walked everywhere. It's close enough to everything that the walk isn't bad. There wasn't a breakfast, but there was tea and coffee.

This is a great place to stay. Free parking and a pool. Easy walking to Duval St and shopping. We've stayed before and always enjoy our stay here. Reasonably priced. We'll stay here again. You should too!

The property adhered well to COVID restrictions (cleanliness, capacity, masks, etc.). That said, the "grab & go" breakfast was a tiny bottle of water, an orange, a small muffin, and a Nutrigrain bar. I've stayed at several other hotels in the past 3 weeks and all of their "grab & go" breakfasts were much more substantial. The hotel is generally on par with other low end motels in the area and any issues with the room were handled efficiently. The room was adequate but there were a few areas that needed paint and were rusty, especially around the main door to the room and bathroom door, and a tub that was damaged and unusable. My main complaint was that I did not feel welcomed as a guest at all. The desk clerk seemed to be annoyed every time I called down or needed to ask a question. When I asked for the "grab & go" breakfast he acted disgusted, like I was ruining his day. I called from my room because I couldn't get the shower to work and was put on hold for 10 minutes. The same happened when I called to report the refrigerator and microwave not working (it was a circuit breaker). I was not greeted as a Diamond Elite member and received a small portion of the promised benefits. As far as value is concerned, I got a great rate considering it was the end of September and Best Western's gift card incentives made it an even better deal. It would have been nice if the staff knew how to apply the gift cards, though. They didn't seem to know what to do with gift cards sent to the guest via email. They ended up manually transposing all the numbers and still got them wrong. The next day the desk clerk essentially accused me of getting it wrong even though they were the ones who transposed them. I stayed here primarily to take advantage of the gift card deal but the normal rates are generally quite high for this quality hotel. I checked the next several months and there is no way I'd return at the rates they're asking. With the gift cards it was a decent deal. I would have felt ripped off if I'd paid the normal rate.

I ended up at the Best Western Hibiscus due to a cancelled reservation at another hotel nearby. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful and quickly got me checked in with two rooms side-by-side. The rooms were updated and well maintained. We enjoyed our first night so much we booked an additional night. My kids enjoyed the onsite pool and overall we had a very pleasant stay with no hiccups. This place is very conveniently located to the Southernmost points, restaurants, and beaches. If motels are your vibe this place is a safe pick.

Just returned on a trip to the Keys. Many choices to stay in Key West, I spent hours trying to decide where to stay. After evaluating them all I made the Best Western Hibiscus my choice. What a great choice!! The price and location is what swung my decision. From the time I drove into the parking lot until I checked out I could not have been happier. The thing I most liked is this Motel has " good bones". Like many of the close in Motels they have been there for a while, so it is easy to walk to beach and Duval. The pool area was like an Island by itself. But most of all the room had been remodeled with modern conveniences with taking from old world charm. Thanks for a wonderful stay and letting me check in 90 minutes early.

Hotel was very nice, clean, and well kept. Great location about a block away from Duval street and about 2 blocks away from the southern most point bouy. Front office staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for price and area to be right where everything is.

The BW Hibiscus was VERY clean. The pool was wonderful and was lined with tropical plants. The location is perfect. Close to everything...Duval is within walking distance. There is a small public beach close by as well (Southernmost). The larger beach is a bit further away. We rented a moped/scooter while there. Parking for mopeds/scooter is free. Parking for cars and golf carts is not free in most areas. You must try the Cuban cafe' store across the street. Amazing cuban coffee and food.

We arrived before check in and had to wait for room to be ready. No public restroom to use in lobby so if your driving make sure you stop before getting to motel. Easy checkin. 2nd floor room. No breakfast, but free parking and no resort fees a plus. I thought the room was very spacious and family of four able to spread out. I like the 2 sinks in the room and little sitting area. Beds comfy. Pool closes a bit early, but probably to keep noise down. Had to wear masks walking around motel but not while sitting at pool. I like there was no elevator due to social distancing. Great location. Make sure you rent a bike/scooter/golf cart. It's the best way to actually see the entire city without killing yourselves. This is a great place to stay due to the cleanliness,location, safety and value. Would stay here again!

Great place, Great Pool, and only one block from the bus. Pay $4 for a week of traveling the Duval Loop. This hotel is perfectly located and very clean. No issues at all, housekeeping about and beyond, and was sorry I had to leave.

Wasn't sure if I would like an old style "motel" but this place was great. The room was spacious, recent remodel gave it a warm feeling, nice decor. The bed and pillows were comfortable, good water pressure from shower. AC worked great, there was a microwave, mini frig, and small coffee pot. No free breakfast due to Covid but they do have a coffee station in the lobby with real creamer. Went to the pool once. I liked this location, it was quiet, not too far from Duval St. easy walk to the Southern Most point. I rented a bicycle and had a great time seeing KW

We luckily received a room upgrade; it was 3x larger than the room we recently stayed at in South Beach! The location is perfect; on a quiet street close enough to Duval to walk, but not noisy. The only suggestion I would make is to improve the "grab and go" breakfasts (included 1 terribly difficult to peel orange, small bottle of water, tiny muffin, and cheap snack bar). Perhaps including some protein (egg or yogurt) instead of all sugar would improve this item.

A hidden gem in the Keys! Amazing location, great staff, great pool, clean room and very reasonable. This room rated so well and that's why I booked it. It DID NOT disappoint. It was in the heart of everything you need, from great restaurants to great bars and shops. The room was clean, the bed was super comfy and lots of elbow room. Love, love this hotel and will stay again!!!

What a perfect location in Key West ! With in walking distance of everything. Very close to Duval street and the Southernmost point. The pool area is great with 10 cabana type Loungers and plenty of palm trees. Spacious clean rooms, friendly front desk folks, and free parking. Really the perfect choice for an affordable place to stay in paradise

We reserved a room with Hibiscus in January for an April trip. Our credit card was charged one night's rate as a deposit. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our reservation due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our cancellation date was 3/18, and we received email confirmation of the cancellation, including this wording: "Your deposit has been refunded today." To date, April 1, there has been no credit to our credit card. We have called the Hibiscus Inn repeatedly, and have been told that they have our information, and to give them "a couple of days" to see it appear on our CC statement. It has not yet appeared. Shameful!

Located on the southwest side of the island this is a great hotel option when factoring in location, amenities and price. The staff was helpful and rooms were large and clean. The inviting courtyard has a large saltwater pool surrounded by palm trees, comfortable loungers and makes a great spot to relax away the day. At reception they have ice water infused with fruits which makes a refreshing drink on hot days. Included in the cost is an above average continental breakfast with make-your-own-waffles. Most importantly it is less than 1.3 miles from Mallory Square, meaning it is within easy walking distance from all the major sites in Key West but far enough away from the hordes of cruise ship passengers that invade this small island on most days. Parking is free and since Key West is best seen on foot, just park your car and don't move it until you checkout.

The BW Hibiscus Motel was very nice. The pool area was inviting and relaxing. There were several loungers and sofa like covered cabanas. The hotel is not on Duval Street but is only a short walk away.

4 night stay during Spring Break. Price was good for location. Nice, clean and quiet hotel with a good free breakfast and free parking near Duval Street. Not sparkly like some resorts, but you don't have to pay resort fees which add up. 20-25 min walk to Mallory Square at the other end of Duval St. Fridge and microwave in room was nice. Gentlemen at front desk were there all day long, so they seemed a bit tired of being there, however they were always professional. Only real ugly thing was they put used plastic paint buckets under the a/c drip vents outside some rooms on the walkway. It just looked ugly - replace them with plain plastic buckets and it'd be fine. I'd consider staying here again for my next vacation and I rarely do that.

Enjoyed our stay at Hibiscus in Key West. It was very clean and quiet. Parking and breakfast was a huge bonus. No resort fee! A resort offers beach and much more inclusive activities. I could see if the hotel offered guided tours of Key West or cooking lessons, etc. We walked all around with no problems. Covid 19 forced us to abandon our trip earlier than planned but... enjoyed the cruise ship crowds not being there. We were free to walk anywhere.

Great location with just a 2 minute walk to where the action is. The pool area is my favorite part of the hotel, with a 12 foot deep salt water pool that is completely isolated from outsiders. It is a great place to relax, read a book and get some sun. If it gets to hot you can get a glass of cold infused water. The breakfast they offer will suffice but if not you have Anna's cafe almost across the street, which severs some of the best coffee on the island that is not Starbucks. They also offer a wide variety of hot foods along with a convenience store and deli as well.

This is the third time we've stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus in Key West. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. The facility is beautiful and very well maintained. Located just a block off of Duval street we were close enough to walk almost everywhere. Will stay here again next time.

Great motel, perfect located near Duval Street. New renovated. Nice pool, perfect for families. Only the breakfast room is a little small if there are a lot of people. The check-in and check-out is going very fast.

Any inn/motel/hotel is only as good as a comfortable bed and very clean accomodations. Hibiscus Motel was perfect! The room was beautiful, sparkling clean, beds super comfortable. Staff, very friendly AND accessible. Pools were large and inviting, grounds well manicured. Bus and trolley stops within walking distance. For about $350/night to be right in Key West was perfect. I can highly recommend this gem for your first or next say in Key West. And it included a full hot breakfast which was really nice.

Our reservation was easily made (well in advance of our stay, approximately four months).Check-in was easily done and the cleanliness of the room was impeccable! This was our first visit to this hotel and probably won't be our last. Other guests that we spoke with at poolside seemed to feel the same way. The Duval Trolley Bus was less that a block away for easy (and FREE) access to downtown tourist spots.

Stayed here with family for vacation. Good value for cost in area, decent breakfast variety. Great location. Nice pool and hot tub though we did not have time to use. Rooms were clean though dated, would stay again

It was absolutely a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful. The pool was quiet and very clean. The location was perfect for walking around Key West. We had breakfast by the pool. Everybody was so helpful. Even the parking lot was nice. Paved.

Great pool, rooms, location, staff!! Breakfast way above the typical "continental" breakfast. I have stayed here a numb!er of times within the last 15 years and am always pleased with everything. The rooms are spacious, linens comfortable - lots of towels and washcloths as well as a pool towel.

The only negative thing I can think of with regard to this property is that there is no on-site laundry, but that's minor. The positives are many. Great location near Duval St. and the Duval Loop bus stop, spacious rooms, very clean, great pool area, good breakfast, free parking, friendly staff. Wonderful property! Highly recommend.

The best western hibiscus is a pleasant surprise in a great location. 2 blocks from the southernmost point, two blocks from the water, one block to Duval st, you can't ask for much more when in Key West! The hotel is very clean, pool area was very nice,the rooms were excellent size, the free breakfast is fine. Also a very nice helpful staff. Free parking is also a great feature in Key West. Do not hesitate making your Key West reservation here.

Clean, comfortable , large rooms with mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Breakfast adequate to get you started. 24 hour coffee in lobby. Large pool and comfortable loungers. Central location on quieter end of Duval. Walkable to all attractions within a mile or 9-10 dollar readily available uber ride. I will likely stay again.

My husband and I recently stayed in Key West. The Hibiscus Motel was in the perfect location - so central, we didn't move our car for the 5 days we were there. We were close to absolutely everything yet off the beaten path so the area was quiet. The decor of the exterior of the Motel capitalizes on its sense of history - it's absolutely adorable. We loved that the breakfast room was just off the pretty pool enabling us to take our breakfast outside to eat at poolside. The room was a great size. The room decor was acceptable but everything was super clean, comfortable and quiet - everything that matters. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room rates are standard for Key West. I would definitely recommend this motel. Can't wait to return to Key West!!

Little gem of a hotel. Location is quiet, yet nearby to a lot, one block off of Duval St. at the Southern end. Clean, quiet ,with a very friendly staff. Nice pool and hot tub area in the courtyard of the hotel. If you stay on the second floor, be aware that there is no elevator. It is only 1/2 block to the nearest Duval Loop (the free bus) stop. Very easy walk to the Butterfly Gardens, and some good restaurants. We actually walked from Mallory Square, with dinner along the way, and it was pretty easy also. The breakfast area had a lot of room with plenty of tables, plus lots of cafe style seating at the pool. Their waffle area was awesome, two waffle makers, heated syrup, whipped cream, blueberry AND strawberry toppings! Scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage, bacon, cereal, lots of pastries and breads. Breakfast area was aways clean and well attended. Only con is lack of the elevator, but you can always request a first floor when reserving. Our room was very spacious, large "small" fridge, beds and pillows very comfy.

Nice big room, clean, great hot tub, quiet and far enough from Duval to escape the noise but a nice walk. Second sink and counter outside of the bathroom was perfect for two female friends traveling together.

I was not staying one night and one day in Key West and chose the Best Western Hibiscus for the convenience. It is only 2 blocks away from Duval St. there is a pool and hot tub that I didn't use. It was the best value I could get for a 1 night stay as some hotels in the old part of town require minimum nights stay. The breakfast is about average but it was that it was included. The only complaint I have is the mustiness smell that hotels in this part of the country seem to have. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel if you are staying less than 2 nights.

As far as the property goes it was well maintained with lots of trees and shrubs. Pool area was beautiful with plenty of different seating. Lobby was small and pretty basic. Our room was a king and it was huge, king bed and a couch which pulled out to what looked like a king bed, so yes, our room was oversized, bed was comfortable and bedding was new. We were on the ground level and our room had a bit of a musty smell. Bathroom could definitely use a new tub. Location was bang on 1 block to Duval St. and short walk to Mallory Square and many restaurants,bars, and shops. Overall we loved it.

We made a road trip to Key West in January and Stayed and may hotels. This Hotel, Best Western Hibiscus Motel, had a great location. Close to the Southern Most Point and 1 block away from the Butterfly conservatory. Hotel was dated but very well maintained.

First time going to the Keys, we stayed had this hotel because we always stay at the Best Western,. This Best Western meet all our needs, although it is a older motel, it is very clean and will maintained. Staff working all day keeping it clean. Highly recommended if you are in the area. The staff from the front desk to thehousekeeping and breakfast staff is top rated, would diffently stay here again.

Convenient location, good parking, excellent breakfast, large comfortable rooms. We especially like that our motorcycles are parked safe. Pool and facilities are very nice and comfortable. Easy to either walk to town or take the Duval loop bus.

I'm so glad we found this Best Western in Key West right off of Duval Street for our trip Jan 15 -18, 2020. The pool area was beautiful with their comfortable lounging area, they even had a hot tub for the cool evenings. Plus free parking & free breakfast for $200 a night. The rooms were large, clean, quiet and the beds were very comfortable compared to the pricey B&B's we have stayed at in the past. The B&B rooms were always very small and you had to pay for parking. We will definitely stay at the Hibiscus Best Western next time we are in Key West.

We were pleasantly surprised! Stayed here for the long weekend with several friends. The location was perfect. We never had to search for parking as the location was perfect and walkable to Duval, southernmost point and many other attractions. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and breakfast was hot and free. Nice pool lounge area. We are planning to come back again next year.

The location to downtown Key West was a huge selling point. I don't usually do reviews but felt compelled to share. Loved everything about the hotel and this will be our go to stay from now on. Coming back next year now!

Clean, comfortable, quiet with great rates and devoted staff. Our room was large with everything we needed and a few things (like popcorn) that we didn't but we were charmed by anyway. The location was good; we didn't need our car for 3 days; we walked or rode the Hop-on/off trolley to everything. If you start the Duval crawl at Sloppy Joes you will finish at La Te Da, which is two blocks away from this hotel. We definitely recommend the Best Western Hibuscus and will stay there again!

The Hibiscus Motel in Key West is definitely a hidden jewel. EVERYTHING was very, very wonderful; staff, room, beds, breakfast, pool, hot tub, location and price. Whenever we come back to the Keys, we will stay here and recommend it to others!

We enjoyed our stay at this BW. The location was perfect, close enough to area attractions, yet far enough away for quiet time. The staff was great. The rooms were nicely decorated and well cleaned. We used the Duval Loop transit for transportation and ate at the recommended local places.

My wife and I stayed at this location for the first time this past weekend, and we will continue to return here for future visits. The included breakfast was superb with an extensive variety. The location in Key West is perfect, close to all the activities we enjoy and only a block from the ocean. The night was quiet with no background noise from the usual festivities. Everything was better than imagined considering other hotels in the Keys. The price is competitive considering the location and time of year. We are already planning our return trip and will stay here again.

I always want to stay at a fancier prpoerty but this place is just about perfect. Fairly large rooms with fridges, easy breakfasts and coffe/tea all day. Walking to nearly everywhere (we walked all the beaches from here - but you‘ll do about 4 round trip to snatchers from here; Duvall a short walk to be sure). Quieter than all the drama st the port and on Duvall. Big central pool area with a lot of Seating. I wish the beds were a little more comfy, but that‘s really a personal choice. In an environment of humidity, it was a clean bathroom with plenty of towels. Mostly a family place, so not a lot of loud drunks or late night door slamming

This is a hidden gem. Excellent price and so close to everything. The room was updated and clean. The pool was amazing. Love the oasis feel. Parking was easy. No hidden fees when u get there. No resort or hotel fees free parking and good breakfast. Hard to find in key west.

Actually stayed in Feb 2018 -- No idea why they rate this as a 1 Star Hotel..they are excellent there!! Breakfast's are great. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay...but only stayed 3 days...Returning in Feb 2020! We can't wait....will also take the Key West Express to get there....will review that also!!

We stayed one night and would come again. Great location to walk around old Key West. Lovely pool area, great breakfast. The room was clean and we were upgraded to a pool view which was lovely. I would reccomend this place to family and friends.

The Key West Best Western staff works hard to please its clients! The rooms are somewhat dated, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was very pleasant with easily adjusting faucets, and the breakfasts were good and quite typical of Best Western standards. The staff works quickly in trying to make one's stay pleasant. They provide concierge duties, work hard at cleanliness in the common areas as well as the rooms. When a problem or concern is expressed, they address it almost immediately and find solutions. The cost per room is somewhat high, but comparatively, it is comparable to the high cost of living in and visiting Key West.

My husband and I spent NYE 2020 and New Years Day at this location. We were grateful to have found a room first and foremost. I think we got the last room on Key West. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and welcoming and the location was perfect. We had the best time and appreciated every moment

We just returned from our family's first visit to Key West. We found the Hibiscus a very comfortable stay at a price that was lower than most other comparable hotels. The rooms were huge and clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to old town attractions and stores as well as the southern most point. One morning my husband and I walked down to the south end of the street (a couple of blocks) to see the sunrise. It was so beautiful. We were also able to walk to Mallory Square the same morning to see the cruise ships dock. Staff was friendly and we even got complimentary champagne to help celebrate New Years! A great find!!

We went to Key West and wanted to return again with out adult sons. This hotel is a great choice. One block from the hotel is Stop #12 of the Duval Loop, a free shuttle service provided by City of Key West. We never used our car the entire week we were there. From this hotel, you can walk to the Southern Most House and the Point statue. But get on the shuttle, and you can go anywhere. Parking is horrible in Key West (not to mention expensive - meters are $4 an hour. We took the shuttle every day to go to the waterfront and to Mallory Square. Our rooms were clean and spacious for the four of us. Pool was very secluded. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! We want to go back!

Stay here for one night to check out Key West, it was a Sunday night so rates everywhere were really high except this motel. Outstanding value, great location, include breakfast and free parking in the heart of key west. There is a stop for the Duval Loop bus a block away. You are a block from Duval and other attractions. You can only find this via the best western site, can't book or be found on any of the regular major booking sites. All other hotels in Key West charge resort fees, parking fees, etc. Not this place. Rooms were spacious, a good number of parking spots, pool are looks nice (didn't get to use it). The free hot breakfast was great. Overall great value and best option in Key West.

We enjoyed the motel immensely. Great location, we walked to the Southernmost Point and up and down Duval. Pool was a great respite from the action on Duval. Room met all of our needs, having the mini-fridge and microwave was perfect for our family. We can't wait to plan another trip!

Excellent location. Very clean. Retro 60s era with large bedroom area that includes two comfortable chairs. Bed was hard and pretty worn out. Everything else was excellent especially the employees! Salt water pool, lots of towels, very nice pool furniture.

We stayed here for 2 nights while in Key West. There is a hop on and off stop just around the corner. I think #13. The deodorizer smell in the room was overwhelming when we opened the door. Had to leave the door open for about 30 minutes before we could shut the door. There are no ramps at all. All steps or stairs. No elevators. You have to drag suitcases up and down steps to check in at the front desk. Close to mile marker 0. The breakfast was not good. The egg paddies were warm and like rubber. I'd find someplace else to stay for $161 a night. The staff was friendly.

This was our second stay at BW KW!! We did have a key entry issue that required us to change rooms at check in. But once that was addressed, the rest of our stay was once again very pleasing!! Extremely clean property, comfy beds with plenty of pillows! Fridge, extra sink outside of bathroom, popcorn for our microwave, etc. Although this is a much older property, it is kept in great condition!! Just needs a few minor updates, but nothing that keeps one from having a great time, in a perfect off the beaten path of Duval Street. Affordable as well!!

On first impression we were unsure about this motel . The check in staff weren't over friendly the room had a view of the car park with steps in front of the door and it was dark inside . However it was clean and large with a double bed each. The pool area was good and there was free hot drinks all day. It was a short walk from Duval Street and the lively night life but quiet where the hotel was positioned. Breakfast was included and the young man who served was a delight.

Stayed at BW Hibiscus in the quieter end of town. Have stayed at this hotel for past several years. Love that it's quiet. Has nice hot breakfast buffet with many items. The room is large and comfortable with refrigerator and microwave. The pool area is tropical and very relaxing. HBO and Showtime on tv. The hotel is close to restaurants bars and market. The hotel staff very friendly. We were allowed late check out. Will always stay at this hotel.

We were so impressed by the Hibiscus Motel. The pool was heated, huge and surrounded by a generous number of very comfortable day beds, sun-loungers and cabanas and swaying palm trees. Our room was massive, with two double beds, a large wardrobe, armchairs, an in-room fridge and coffee machine and full-length mirror. Although a little damp our room was quiet and had powerful A/C. Service from everyone was spot on. There was a great selection at breakfast - including delicious make-your-own waffles - and good coffee; and it was brilliant being able to eat poolside. The free parking was excellent as was the free fruit-infused water at reception. The Hibiscus is brilliantly located: close enough to Duval Street for all the action, but removed for peace and tranquillity. Such great value and such great fun. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Every year adds some updates. I believe our large room had been updated recently. Breakfast offers hard to find vanilla yogurt. Everyone offers fruit flavors but so hard to get vanilla or plain. Printer in small lobby. Pool has shade and is if anything overheated. Staff was very quick to fix a problem in our bathroom perfectly. We have stayed in many rooms, n each of two levels, no complaints. Away from the antics of Duval but easy to walk there. Bike rental close by.
