"Bathroom was dirtier than any '60s roadside gas station!"

A terrible property in a great location. Filth throughout. Splatters on the wall, a toilet that hadn't seen a cleaning brush in weeks, maybe more. Should have know better but this was a SureStay PLUS! Food on the floor in the lobby upon check-in. Filthy, moldy bathroom. Toilet that was gray from not being cleaned, for some time. Drink splatters on the walls. No way did this location meet cleaning guidelines of any sort. BestWestern should be embarrassed if not ashamed to have their name associated with this hotel. Not sure?....I do have pictures!

"Hotel full but we had reservations"

They overbooked and we ended up being able to stay in a room on the do not rent list. Broken door and smelled bad. And we booked directly not thru a third party. Nevery again will I stay at this hotel. Had stayed previously pre-pandemic and had no issue.

"Didn't honor our reservation. WiFi was down, front desk totally understaffed."

We had a reservation. Called twice during the day to confirm it. Showed up to total chaos. Front desk guy was nervous, overwhelmed, sweaty. Told us they had no WiFi. His manager quit. Not sure if he had any rooms available. He was trying to put together a spreadsheet. Other guests told us about stains and mess in the room. One went to wegmans to use the restroom because their hotel bathroom was too disgusting. After an hour, we gave up and left. Luckily, we had family in the area. Otherwise we would have had to sleep in our car. Totally irresponsible and inexcusable for whoever management is. Stop taking reservations!

This place was trash! You'll have a better experience sleeping in your car and showering at a truck stop! The ceiling had water damage and paint was peeling, several hairs in the shower, booked a king and got two queens, one of the queen beds pillow case was stained, hand towels stained, Qtip sticker stuck on the wall by the mirror, only ONE bath towel in room and when we went to ask for another they didn't have any clean, non-stained towels but offered us a "clean stain" towel (no thank you!) - in the morning I was able to get a clean towel, drain stopper in sink was left out and coated in hair, window was wide open on top floor and no screen was in allowing for bugs to get it, internet was down the entire stay, elevator door had paneling peeling and took 15 seconds to close the doors, AC wasn't good, there was a straw under the desk that we thought was a pen so my husband went to pick it up to find out otherwise (COVID, germs, this is gross!), they advertise breakfast 6-9 and they were all out by 7:45 so we didn't get to eat. Stay away and find a better hotel and pay more if you have to. It will be well worth it. This hotel will never get my business again. I'd be embarrassed and ashamed to even have the Best Western name on this hotel!

Thank God we had Lysol spray & wipes with us...the sheets looked used, there was lots of hair on the bathroom floor and black mold where the tiles meet the tub! There was no fridge in our room (not that I would have used it!!). Could not wait to get home to take a shower!!! My daughters were in another room and they had the same complaints. And, in the breakfast area, the garbage was spilling onto the floor! This was at 8:30 am! Definitely no one there cares...

My room had multiple spiders crawling around. The beds were not clean and were not remade between guests. The second room I was moved to after the spider den had stained sheets and pillowcases, pubic hair in the bathroom, and was generally very poorly maintained. Do not stay here.

"Ghetto hotel"

i stayed here for 2 days and was already dreading it the first few hours i got there. walked in there was an aroma of pot. there goes their policy of no smoking that they adore. the staff makes no sense and they are clueless and rude. why does the staff have no cleaning outfits/ uniforms? one of them was wearing a Scooby doo shirt and the other a workout outfit. the elevator door is shot and half of it is already off with the glue remains attached . the toilet barley flushes and there is an odor coming from it? there was hair on my sisters side of the bed and random hairs around the room. desk chair was filthy and should have a match thrown to it. the window looks like it's been through a war. dust and dirt. there was also loud banging noises that kept my family and i up for a portion of the night. the “complementary” breakfast was a joke. not even pancakes or waffles. not that i would eat here anyway. milk on a counter with tiny boxes of cereal. as the lady behind the desk said, “a grab and go” … don't stay here. i hope they go into foreclosure. was away from the hotel for a day and the beds weren't made. not surprised. wifi is sketchy and keeps shutting off for no reason!

Low cost. Staff was extremely unprofessional and unkempt. Carpet was sticky. Supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. No one told the pot smokers in 320 who set off the fire alarm. Don't count on much to eat for the “included breakfast”. Our stay was better than the two other parties who checked in at the same time.

"Full" breakfast was 3 containers of cereal & cold coffee. Complained about coffee & it was taken away. Staff didn't care about problems. Had trouble with entry cards not working. Lots of noise from kids and adults. Tried to check in at 2:30 pm but was told that check in was not until 3 pm. When I checked in at 3 pm, the staff didn't know which rooms were cleaned & which were not. Check in took about a half hour as a person was sent around hotel to find cleaning staff (which they couldn't find) to see what rooms were clean.

Covid has not been kind to this hotel. They were dealing with staffing issues but rose to the occasion and provided the best service to us. This hotel is in an excellent location right off I-86 and 17 and 26. There are many restaurants within walking distance. This is a good place to stay.

"Bad smell, bad internet, and uncleanly room."

As soon as you walk in the lobby it has a horrible smoke smell that you can't get away from. The elevators only come down every 10 minutes and one wasn't even operating. My room smelled like dirty wet socks and it also had the following: a dead spider, a curly hair stuck in the remote button, a used q tip on the bathroom floor, a random pen under the bed, and cigarette burns on the comforter. (all of which I have photographs of) Thankfully, I was only there to sleep and shower quick for a work meeting the next morning. I will never stay here again.

My daughter made a reservation online and we drove there from Michigan. My daughter got to the hotel and was told two things 1) your not 21 so you can check in (our bad,that was probably posted somewhere and we overlooked it) 2) Yes, you made a reservation but NO we don't have any rooms available. Literally we made a reservation, drove ll the way there from Michigan for them to tell us they can't give us a room because softball teams were in town and took all the rooms. I asked the lady at the front desk (Not a friendly lady) how can we make a reservation, pay and you tell us there is no room left for us when we finally get here and her response was "I don't know, you tell me". What???? Who says that to a guest that reserved, paid and drove there from MI. Your mistake, NOT OURS and you want me to explain it to you???? I told her that all the hotels in the surrounding areas were all booked because of these softball teams and we aren't leaving because we made a reservation!! Also told her to put the damn room in my name since they wouldn't let it be in my daughter's. She proceeded to tell me I would have to stay in the room also then. Hello my daughter is almost 20 and with her boyfriend, I'm not staying in a room with them but if that's what you wanna hear....fine. I will be here. In the end she magically mysteriously came up with empty room (Not the one my daughter paid for of course) and the room smelled like mildew. Bottom line, go to expedia, priceline, orbitz....READ THE REVIEWS! THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT LYING WHEN THEY SAY DONT STAY HERE!!! RUDE STAFF, UNPROFESSIONAL AND SMELLS LIKE MILDEW

"Worst ever and never stay here"

If I have any choice again, I never choose this place. I don't want to give even one rate. Very disappointed with BW chain. Can this place call BW? I had to pay three times more than actual average one night price because of the specific date I booked. The front desk guy gave 4th floor room without door lock keypad and the room door was open with very old mattress standing on the wall. We had to go down and asked for proper room with locked keypad. Room was smelly and dirt. Bed linens smells cheap laundry. Only renovated spot in the room was bathroom. Lobby, if we can consider it lobby, smelled cigarette and the elevator smelled cigarette too. Out side of front door floor stained with urine or something. Couldn't sleep because of singing with guitar until 1 am very outside of our room window. It was our worst experience with Best western brand. Never go back to this place again.

Worst hotel experience ever!! I booked this through best western and it claimed that it had a pool, gym, and breakfast when it was all a lie. What a ripoff! It said that it was smoke free when in reality everywhere smelled like smoke. When i first arrived to check in the people there seem clueless of what to do and i had to wait for some time before i got the key to my room.

Stayed at this place over Memorial Day weekend. Avoid it! Waited to check in for 25 minutes while the front desk "manager" was on the phone with their Tech Support. Was pretty clear she didn't know the system. Was not given the room I had booked b/c she couldn't figure out how to do it! Room had ceiling water stains, dirty towels (seemed to be tire tread marks over them, if you can believe it) and the bed must have been 50 years old. 5 weeks later, I'm still waiting for a room deposit charge that should have dropped off when I checked out. This was a redemption of BW points too! Have called more than 15 times by now, The manager has rudely told me to "call back, I'm doing payroll right now", put me on hold and never came back, failed to return numerous phone calls. Zero personal skills. Electronic credit never came, was told a paper check was being mailed out--of course, never came. This hotel is apparently owned privately, and I had to reach out to the corporate offices of Best Western, They need to drop this place from their chain.

Disgusting facility As a Gold member it is becoming apparent that BW is not living up to its own standards. Dirty carpet, toilet not flushed, long dark in tub, globs of soap residue on shower shelves, body soap worthless, broken glass front door, side door entry card lock not working no security

When my husband and I checked in, we asked for second room key. Was told we could only have one,, until we insisted. Room did NOT get cleaned or serviced even once. Short staffed. Had to go to front desk to get clean towels. Was supposed to be a 5 night stay, but after 4 days, checked out. Internet was intermittent. Manager and day desk clerk less than friendly. Apparently they were short staffed but all the more reason to be friendly to your patrons.

My husband & I have been staying in this hotel building on & off for years when visiting. The hotel has changed hands several times and has declined in quality tremendously. This time we stayed for 3 nights on the 4th floor. We asked for a no-smoking room. When getting off the elevator onto the 4th floor, we immediately smelled smoke lingering in the hallways. Even though our room had a no-smoking sign on it, many of the rooms on the same floor were smoking rooms. When we first went up to our room, we entered the room to someone on the bed watching TV. They gave us the key for someone else's room. We had to go back and switch rooms. I didn't really feel safe leaving my belongings here. The room itself seemed clean but no one came to change out towels or the garbage on a daily basis. If this was a new COVID procedure, then it should be communicated to guests.

Very friendly staff. Room needs updating. Bed was old and creaky, towels were old and rough, Generally clean. Good for a quick stay if you're not spending too much time in the room. Convenient location.

Don't ever stay at #Surestay #bestwesternhotel in Johnson City! The place is a dump. They do not clean the rooms. The place smells like cigarettes, even in the rooms. The towels are dirty. Bodily fluids on bedsheets. Rude staff. Management doesn't care. Worst hotel ever!!!

The hotel itself is pretty ok and fairly decent for price of room. The issues we had were with the front desk staff..... we had 5 kids with us and 3 adults and at 840am there was NO BREAKFAST AT ALL... NO COFFEE NO JUICE.... NOTHING!!! We need a few items called the front desk..... no one came with the itema after 45mins so we had to go find someone ourselves to get them. Good location and beds were comfy..... but need to retrain staff on how to clean(items under beds, pubic hairs in bathrooms)

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone other than someone who just needs to crash for a few hours after a long drive. The hotel is in need of major capital improvements. A bathroom ceiling had mold, tiles grout was dirty as well as corners. Toilet wasn't particularly clean either. Ceiling in the room had some stains that were painted over. The worst Best Western property I've seen. I will not return to this property again.

We stayed in one of the rooms that recently had the bathroom updated on the 4th floor, usually we stay on the 2nd floor but heard about the updated bathrooms. We didn't want the 1st floor. The added features are quite nice. We have stayed here in the past. The staff is usually hit or miss on cleaning but the front desk staff is what brings us back. Usually we have dealt with Ashley, she is very sweet and also helpful. Now we adore how sweet Tabitha is at the front desk. She checked us in this last visit & you can see her smiling through her eyes (since she is wearing her mask). Our reservation wasn't booked correctly (my fault for not selecting the right dates, she patiently waited for it to be correctly & carried on small talk that sounded so genuine and continued to help other guests with the same mannerism. She was also our room service person the next morning. Nick, if you are reading this, she's a keeper & the best room service and front desk person you have! We came back to the room as she was finishing our room and witnessed her wiping the wall & tv stand down by the trash can, the girl that did our room the day before should be trained by Tabitha. As we watched her finish up from the hallway, she politely reminded us for her safety and ours it's best if we wait outside the room while she finishes.

"Mattress Saturated in Pee"

The first thing we noticed when we entered our room was the smell: it smelled like stale cigarettes and musk. My friend and I laid out our sleeping bags and pillows on the bed, to avoid sleeping under the covers. We left to get food, and came back to find that our sleeping bags and pillows had a strong urine odor that was now sunk into the materials. We pulled down the blankets and discovered that not only were the sheets and blankets saturated in urine, but the whole center of the mattress was as well. My friends and I had a connected room, so we hoped we could move to another connected room, but they had none available. We hoped that the cleaning staff would be able to salvage the room conditions, but the mattress was simply too saturated. The next change of sheets and blankets also became saturated in this urine smell. The manager, Nick, offered us very unenticing deals to get us off his back, but it came off as disrespectful. He refused to be honest and cooperate with myself and my friends. We felt as if we were consistently disrespected because we are younger customers. He also lied about saying he would contact us the day after our stay ended (a Monday), concerning a refund. We received no such call. We knew this was a blatant lie, despite him telling us, "You have to trust me. If you trust me, I will take care of you." Verbatim. It was all an attempt to get us out of his hair. We spoke to multiple representatives with Best Western customer service, and are unable to receive a refund because of this hotel's management. I wouldn't be this upset with the entire experience if my friend and I's personal belongings, including multiple articles of clothing, weren't saturated in what is someone else's urine. This far beyond the acceptable standards of any hotel or motel.

Put into non smoking room that reeked of smoke. Had to be moved. Clerk nice and accommodating about it. Room very dirty. 2 light bulbs burnt out. Dried mud covered wheels of desk chair. Just nasty. Would never recommend.

"One of my beds smelled like PISS."

My group of friends and I stood here for 2 nights. We got two rooms that were conjoined so we could easily go in and out without disturbing the rest of the guests. It all seemed good until one of us laid down on one of the beds. One of the beds smelled entirely like piss, urine. Not only that, one of my friends left his things on that bed while we went out, since, you know, you don't expect beds to smell like piss. When we got back, his things took in the smell and also smelled like piss. In the other room, the mini fridge was broken and we couldn't store anything in there. I do NOT recommend this hotel. This isn't a fluke either. Reading through other reviews, it seems like it's consistent.

The place looks decent from the outside and the lobby -- it ends there from my perspective. I visited in september and occupancy wasn't great mostly because of the pandemic I'm sure. I asked for a King bed and the reception told me only 2 queen rooms were available???? Upon entering the room it was obvious the cleaning crew was not interested in cleaning. Mold on the bathroom time, paint or polish spots on the work desk and enough lint or dirt on the exhaust vent to knit a sweater. Shocking in this time of "deep cleaning". I'm a frequent traveler and Diamond member of the Best Western program and have never experienced a room in the shape this one was in. Fortunately it was only one night.

I checked in on Fri Sept 4 and stayed until Mon Sept 7 ( 4 days/3 nights) FRONT DESK STAFF WAS NOT WEARING A MASK! THE guest checking in in front of me was NOT wearing a mask. On Monday Sept 7 at check out NICK was the only hotel staff I saw ALL WEEKEND wearing a mask I'm a gold member with best Western and it's the first hotel that I stayed at during the pandemic that DID NOT adhere to NYS mask rules!!!!

"Family trip"

I booked one night here through priceline that was non refundable for the same day. Priceline messed up and booked me for 8 nights starting in a week! Total was $541 instead of 64.80! They were saying they cant change it or cancel it because it was non refundable. Lina at the front desk was so great..she immediately canceled the 8 nights and priceline had no choice but to give me a refund. Lina and the manger even gave me a discount price since the priceline price was cheaper than their rate which was greatly appreciated. We stayed there last night and the room was very clean and comfortable. Great location too..great customer service goes a long way! Thanks again Lina for fixing that disaster last night!! Highly recommend this hotel and would come back again!

"No hot water"

We stayed here last Monday on the way to Florida. At 9:00 pm we tried to take a shower and there was no hot water. The girl at the front desk said it should be fixed soon. We couldn't change rooms because the front desk clerk said some rooms had hot water and some didn't and she didn't know which had it. Now it's 10:00 pm and we are too tired to look for another hotel. Still no hot water in the morning. The manager was not in when we left but the front desk clerk assured us he would call us. He didn't. I called later that day and the manager was upstairs but I was assured he would call, he didn't. Tried calling today and the hotel number was not in service. Bottom line, don't stay here.

WE have stayed at this hotel several times now. Very friendly and helpful!!! Traveling with my mother and my 5 yr old daughter. The breakfast in the morning was just the way to start our day! Great stay

King deluxe room was excellent. Large with lots of outlets from phones/computers. Included wet bar with microwave & fridge. Fridge was a bit small with no usable freezer space. Bathroom was nice with large counter top. Breakfast was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay again.

"Enjoyable Stay at the Baymont by Wyndham"

The hotel was clean and inviting. The rooms were clean and serviced daily with new linens, towels and amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good, a nice variety and free! Coffee available 24 hours was a real treat.

Found bed bugs after they where in to clean room never again stayed two night gave money back for one night big deal they acted like it was the first time with bugs not so reading reviews same room number that it happen to someone before us
