"Great hotel in a great location near the Blue ridge Mountains"

The room was very good. Bed was comfortable. Price was excellent. Free breakfast was delicious and hot. The wait person there was very friendly and kept the food trays full with fresh food. Persons behind the counter at night and during the day were both friendly and helpful. All in all, a great value.

Bathroom very small. Bed uncomfortable. Laundry not initially working. Soda machine out of order. Breakfast good. Communications within sraff not good as boots misplaced and were not found for two days.

This was our second time to stay here as we liked the location to restaurants, shopping and right offHwy 26. However, we did only spend the night. Cheerful and friendly staff!The eggs on breakfast bar were cold but the lady was nice enough to warm in microwave.

Maybe it was the room location but this was a noisy hotel and we didn't get much sleep. We had a corner room on the ground floor and it seemed like everyone who came in had to come by our room. If that wasn't enough, the smokers also gathered not far away from our door and chit chatted and their cigarette smoke was pulled inside our room by the air conditioner. Other than that the staff was friendly, breakfast was good, and the beds were comfirtable. We won't stay here again.

It's clean, but the a.c. wasn't working and someone stood outside smoking so cigarette smoke kept seeping in, the sheets were scratchy but beds were comfortable. The building is obviously old and rooms have been redone, but just a surface remodel - lots of minor faults. As the title states, what do we expect for 89 bucks? For a 3 star place, slightly more.

We were traveling with friends and had no reservations. The front desk person was wonderful, happy & friendly! We asked for King rooms on the first floor and close together and we got them! The rooms were modern, CLEAN, fresh & the bed was wonderful! Breakfast one step ahead of the other motels we've stayed. At check out we were given a "goodie" bag with water, fruit & a granola bar. That was an additional surprise! Just a note, the woman manning the breakfast area is sweet, kind and went out of her way to make sure everyone was taken of and happy! I'll stay here again if I get in the area!

I don't know how this hotel received three stars. Although the staff at the front desk was very friendly, and the lobby appeared the be updated, those were the only good things about it. I was told my room would be in the “back building.” After driving over, and searching for 10 minutes (because they are split by evens and odds and I was not told that), I finally found my room located down a hallway, outside, and up a flight of stairs. The smell upon opening the door was of mildew, stale cigarettes, and cockroach feces. The bed had crust on the bed skirt, and an unknown black substance on the bed spread. There were bugs crawling on the ceiling, and cobwebs and dirt over the floor. It reminded me of a place that should be rented by the hour. I was so appalled by the conditions that I left, and found somewhere else to spend the weekend.

This stay was booked for me for a business trip. The hotel was a little strangely set up. The restaurant and bar were a little odd. The hotel staff seemed friendly. The room did not seem upgraded at any point recently. The bed was good, as were the pillows. For the hotel to be ranked so high, I would have thought it would have been more of an amazing stay.

My son and I stayed here to do a campus tour of ETSU. The best part of our stay was the sweet girl behind the counter that checked us in. I can attest, the rooms have not been upgraded as the website says. From the stale cigarette smell when we opened the room door , to the dirty bathtub, to the strange axel grease smell that lingered from somewhere in the room. The beds were extremely hard and the comforter was very thin. I hate to say this because I always tip generously, but I left absolutely nothing in that room. The breakfast was your standard eggs,bacon,sausage, waffles,cereal stuff normally found at these hotels. The breakfast staff was very friendly so I left my room tip for them.

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was neat and clean and some of it was recently renovated. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The breakfast was very good! There is a nice swimming pool. There are also 2 seafood restaurants nearby. It is convenient to ETSU also.

The room I stayed in had a very sticky carpet. The pillows were lumpy and all the sheets were dingy and marked with old stains from use over the years. I felt quite uncomfortable and was a bit worried about bugs but as I was traveling across the country with pets, my options were limited. There was no evidence of bugs over the course of my stay but I would not return to this hotel.

On other stays at this property we've stayed in building one. This time we stayed in building two. It is older and apparently not as well maintained as building one. The rooms interiors (we had two rooms) were shabby.

The a/c was blowing muggy air asked to maintenance to fix it or be switched to another room neater happened stayed for 5 days all I got was “we called maintenance and we don't have another room available” Also there were rips in the carpet and it smells like smoke

We would have been happy to move you but we were sold out and didn't have anything available. Our hotel is non smoking so I am unsure about the smoke odor you experienced. Carpeting is screaming to be cleaned as is the pool. Front desk employees are ALL top notch, made-for-the job employees; housekeepers must have a language barrier OR the hotel was short staffed the week I stayed here ( I couldn't get her to understand to replace the dirty linens & empty the trash). Breakfast was excellent & employees there were cordial, welcoming, & professional. Do their security cameras really WORK? Two nights (both around one A.M.) there were 'shady' people prancing the parking lot. On-site restaurant is excellent, but pricey. Bathrooms are tiny,. but clean & well maintained.

Easy check-in. Pleasant comfortable room with lots of pillows. Excellent breakfast with wide selection. Convenient to restaurants and sites. Noise of other guests not an issue if you bring your ear plugs.

The woman at the desk was amazing. She saw I had trouble walking and gave us a room close to the elevator and the pool. Very clean and comfortable. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom clean. I was also told I had reward points I did not realize I had

This was a clean a nice place to stay. There was always a staff member willing to help. Breakfast was plentiful & hot. The only negative was someone stole my throttle grip & gas cap from my motorcycle and left my mirrors hanging; I guess s/he was interrupted in her/his thievery. And, of course, my bike was in a blind spot with no cameras. I would stay here again despite what happened to my belongings.

The staff was very friendly especially Jessica she ROCKS. Even through the hotel is a little out dated it is still is very clean. The comp breakfast was fresh and lots of choices. We would differently stay here again.

Definitely want to stay in front part of hotel, not back part of hotel, rooms are better. Bed was comfortable, and quiet. Could have been a little cleaner in the hallways. Room was clean, stains on bathroom floor. Breakfast is plenty and hot. Staff is friendly. Restaurant and Bar in hotel is great.

Room was small, outdated like a old roadside motel from the 1960's or ‘70's. Bathroom door would not close & had multiple holes busted in it. Carpet was dirty & had holes cut in it. Rooms opened to outside with a view of a brick wall. Lobby area had been updated but hallways on main floor near restaurant & bar smelled like a mixture of urine & pine sol.

Really nice hotel with excellent staff and clean spacious rooms. Enjoyed breakfast there which was included. Close to highway. Nice business center, high speed Internet, and fitness center. I definitely plan to stay here more often.

Staff and the rooms were excellent. Location was perfect so close to everything restaurants and shopping will def come back again. Breakfast had allot of items, there was something for everyone. We were there for a wedding.

Front desk were awesome. Our room was could use some updating. Beds were firm. Too firm for me. Wall were a little thin could hear kid crying. Breakfast was good but it would of been better with real eggs. Best part was the pool ! I would come back.

We were on our way home after a 1000+ journey and used a coupon from the travel book to stay here. Clerk Leon very nice and helpful too!! Room on 4th floor, 2 QN non-smoking nice and clean and good bed. Bathroom nice, but 2 sinks would be great. Breakfast good and clerks really nice there. Toilet not working good and seat broke - where is housekeeping to notice this? Lighting in room is not good and difficult if you want to read.

Out Motorcycle Riding the east Tennessee roads. The Best Western in Johnson City was central to all of the beautiful roads and scenery. Next time I travel to east Tennessee I will be staying here. Excellent value for the money.

Ceiling in bathroom was falling/cracked. Blow dryer did not work. Counter was unlevel. But a/c in room worked well. Hotel was easy to find and walking distance to several restaurants. Pool open until 10 pm but is seasonal.

We had a good one nights stay. There rooms were large with comfortable beds. Plenty of bathroom counter space. Breakfast in the morning was well stocked with plenty of food and several basic breakfast food items, including hot items. Overall it was a good stay as we passed through.

Stayed few nights here for business. It was a nice a quiet place with a good breakfast. I needed to do some work on my computer during one of the afternoons and it was uninterrupted. If I came back to the area, I would say again. Bonus: Chinese restaurant and bar attached to the hotel with hotel lobby entrance.

This hotel needs to be gutted and remodeled. Staff was amazing, but quality of room was extremely poor. Poor lighting, noisy in hallway at all hours, noise pollution from neighboring rooms, light from hallway could be seem through hotel room door which made it impossible to get the room dark at night to sleep, pretty much a Nightlight quality lighting in the bathroom and hotel room making it hard to get ready ... horrible.

We choose Johnson city because several towns to antique to. Several antiques in Johnson City also. Great location for our hotel. Close to interstate and restaurants. Grocery stores and shopping on other side interstate from us.

I really want to give a rave review because the staff was so wonderful but the room is really what it is about. We booked the hotel months ago due to race weekend for the proximity and reviews. When we arrived early am due to flight delay the front desk agent was friendly and attentive. When we arrived to the room not in the main building but the back more of a motor lodge style it smelled horribly of smoke (supposed to be nonsmoking hotel). I called and asked for a new room but none we're available. We decided to stay since it was so late and we had already traveled from the west and withstood a flight delay. We attempted to watch TV to unwind but there was no picture or remote control. I called the front desk where the agent quickly appeared with a remote and fixed the TV. Turned down the bed where the sheets were clean but not fresh and crisp. Morning arrived and it was time to shower where I found a faucet that needed repair and did not have cool water. It was the hottest shower! Great lighting and title was clean. Morning breakfast was well supplied and taken care of. Restaurant and bar also had good service and food.

All the accommodations were very nice. 15 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway which made the location convenient for attending the race. A variety of places to eat close by from fast food to sit a down dinner

While in Johnson City to take a difficult professional exam I stayed here because it is connected to a favorite Asian restaurant my family loves. We had not stayed at the hotel though. So here I was, by myself, and needing to cram the night before the exam. After a wonderful lunch at the restaurant I went through the doors into the lobby where Jessica greeted me with a big, warm smile, found the reservation my wife had made for me, and got me all checked in quickly and easily. While pointing out where my room was she recommended an easy and shorter path to my room. It made lugging my laptop and bag a lot easier. After getting settled in and studying for a couple hours, I decided to take a break noticed the TV was not working properly, and needed some sort of resetting. I needed to stretch my legs so I went to the lobby where Ed was now in charge of things. I told him my situation, and although he could have just told me the steps needed to get the TV up and running (I'm reasonably intelligent and can follow instructions well) he offered to walk back to the room and do the somewhat-detailed-bu-not-difficult reset himself. Wonderful! I didn't lose focus on my studying, and went back to it knowing when it was time to quit and relax the TV would be working fine. The bed and bath were clean and comfy as could be. I could tell the building was a bit dated, but my room was up to date itself, very nice, and I got a great night's sleep. In the morning the breakfast had all the usual Southern Suspects: Waffle Maker, Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits, Gravy and Cereal. I fueled up great, and after getting back to the room and packing up the car went to check out. Jessica was there again, and really wanted to know how my stay was (she asked the same kind of questions my wife asks when interrogating me). And again, this morning, she was happy and cheerful as could be. I had a great pre-exam study night thanks to this place, which I am sure contributed to my passing my exam that afternoon. Thanks, Best Western Hotel and Conference Center! I will definitely be back, and armed with my family and travel pooch as well!

"Nice staff, but dirty room"

Although the staff was welcoming and friendly, the room left something to be desired. The bathroom tub was not clean and even had a shoe print in it that I had to clean off with a face wipe. The sheets also smelled old and stale, as if they hadn't been changed in quite a few months. The rest of the room was nice, but the two areas that I mentioned should be the cleanest areas of all. Please check before unpacking your bags so that they can change your room or send someone to clean.

After having a terrible experience at a property in Asheville, NC., we left and headed back home to Ohio. We were too tired at 2:00 AM to keep driving so we stopped at this Best Western. The desk clerk, Leon, was super nice, booked us a room quickly and even gave me a handful of snacks when I asked if there were any food places still open. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and most importantly, everyone was very polite and helpful. I would stay here anytime I was in this area. Nice employees are more important than fancy hotels with rude employees.

Room was comfortable and clean, new bathtub, good breakfast buffet, staff was great, especially Ed. Facility feels generally safe. Our room faced the front of the grounds. Space for pet walking was good. Had to change rooms due to tv not working and some construction above. Ed at front desk happily addressed everything.

Smells and looks old and aged. Elevator also needs cleaning. The room was clean but the vanity had a crack line on it. Window was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Good breakfast choices. I enjoyed the fresh waffles.

We are currently undergoing renovations and unfortunately have had issues with keeping the elevators clean. That is the only way they have to transport materials. The hotel was better than I had anticipated. Ed and vashie were very helpful. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurant and 6 min from eastern Tennessee state university. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast bar was fully stocked at all times. I would book again.

From check-in, to breakfast, to check-out, the team here really make you feel welcome and appreciated for your business. I'd definitely stay here again. I was in town to see a band and was helping several of the members who were delayed in a snow storm. Courtney, at check-in, made sure I had enough hot tea for all my singers, and other band members, before we all went to sound check. The small details made for a much more enjoyable night of performing. Many thanks!

King rooms are so spacious and the staff is always willing to help any way possible. Super friendly and engaging. Stay here often when in the area...mainly because the staff treats you so much better than even the 3.5 star hotels in this area. Stay here and see for yourself....and the breakfast is good.

Check in was quick and easy. Location was perfect for day trips to Bristol, Gray and Johnson City. Hotel was near serveral restaurants and the Johnson City Mall. Room was comfortable and the property full safe. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stop in Johnson City was well needed due to our drive from Atlanta to Canton, Ohio. It was idea place to stop and very refreshing rest. Great location near route 26. Easy access to and from the highway. Will make it a regular stop in the future.

"Actively Under Renovation"

There are 2 buildings - the front one has inside corridors and the back one has outside breezeways. Looks like about half of the rooms in the back one, where all the pet friendly rooms are, are under renovation. I couldn't really tell if my room had been renovated or not - newer looking vanity top, but old tub with a big crack in it. That being said, there is an elevator and lots of room to walk the dog. I wouldn't want to spend a vacation here, but for 1 or 2 nights it is sufficient. Front desk staff very pleasant, lots of parking for larger or towed vehicles, sit down Chinese/Thai restaurant-bar on site, lots of other restaurants close by.

Hotel is in a great location. Rooms look run down and need updating. The second building requires navigating stairs and rooms have outdoor walkways, and I couldn't find an ice machine except for the first building which required a key to access.

The main building has been remodeled and the second building is currently undergoing renovations. Your room key opens the door to the main building also. Ice machines are located on the 1st and 3rd floors. The second building does have an elevator which negates the stairs. We apologize that our desk clerk did not show this to you on the grounds map. Stayed there when we went to Jonesborough to attend story telling conference. Clean room and recently remodeled. Staff was very friendly. Only complaint is we had two queen beds in our room and one was definitely more comfortable than the other.

I have stayed at many Best Western hotels in my many years of traveling and this is one of the best. Very professional service. Rooms were very clean and the bed was great. Need to get better pillows. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were in area for family gathering so we needed overnight accommodations. We were greeted at check in with welcoming, friendly smile. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. Biscuits were hot and crispy brown and moist inside, gravy was perfectly seasoned and consistency. Bacon was crisp. All in all good experience

"Weekend of good service"

In town for funeral of my wife's cousin. We had never stayed at this motel and we were unsure of cleanliness and safety. No need to worry. The hotel presents as modern and well appointed. Clean and fresh smelling throughout (especially pleasing since small dogs are allowed in rooms). Our room had two queen beds, table/desk with two chairs. Entertainment center supported TV, refrigerator, and microwave. Passcode required to enter customer areas and passcodes to enter customer rooms. Denny's, Longhorn Perkins very close by.

Present owners are making steady improvements to facility which needed to be updated. Good value for the price. New mattresses. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Will stay again. On site restaurant had excellent food. Hot coffee in the lobby.

You can stay here without muss or fuss.. big nice rooms.. totally comfortable. Using our ROKU. While traveling or viewing our photos on the television is a big deal for us. The staff helped us when it was time to hook up .. they made a potential problexm just .. Go Away... we appreciated that very much..

We are from Dallas TX, and have enjoyed our travels through the states of NC, VA, and TN and we have enjoyed staying at Best Westerns. We have had a wonderful stay at the Johnson City Best Western in room 151. The rooms, early breakfast and courtesy at the front desk has been outstanding. Rooms were very clean and nice. Marlene in the breakfast room from our standpoint was very responsible, helpful, and mindful of making people happy while enjoying breakfast. At your front desk during the morning hours there were 4 employees who were so helpful in giving us information about the area. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We will return on our next trip through Johnson City.

This is a great hotel in a perfect location. This hotel was not our first choice but the other hotel was sold out and they recommended the BW. We were surprised at how beautiful this hotel was. All areas were clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a room with a balcony and it was nice to see the view. We wanted to stay in to watch the Penn State game and the bar had many choices of beverages and a varied beer listing. We were able to sit in the lounge and watch the game and enjoyed our night of relaxing. The entire staff at the hotel was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Will stay again when in the area. They did take the pool out to build the lounge :(. I did miss the pool.

I was very happy with our experience with this hotel. The location was perfect and the rooms are very spacious. The bed was very hard and difficult to get a good night's sleep. However, everything else was good to include the breakfast offered. There were a lot of choices and it was very tasty. I would stay here again.

We had been driving for 12 hours from Wisconsin...Decided to stop for the night. Found this on Trip Advisor, thought we would give it a try...Glad we did! We were very warmly greeted by 'Gabe' at The front desk...Seriously, he was great! Saw my husband's Air Force Veteran hat, and thanked him for his service, and gave us a extra percentage off of our room...The room was fine..Nothing fancy, but clean!! Had a microwave and fridge...Breakfast was decent...Eggs, bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravy etc...The only thing I found disturbing is when we checked out (or in)we were not given any type of print out of what the charge to our card will be...9 hours later, it still hasn't been emailed..I was told this was their new process...I have never experienced this...I asked for something, she said she wasn't able to tell me what the charge would be. Other than that, great value and clean!

At $100 a night, we were disappointed. The bed was not awful, but not really comfortable; mattress mediocre at best, sheets scratchy and bedspread thin with no additional blankets in the room. Room obviously not updated in quite awhile as there were few outlets for charging electronics, and all power for bedside and desk area came from one source. I would NOT recommend this place at this rate. The room quality is what I would expect from a $60 or $70/night place.

It was good. Nothing horrible. Maybe a softer bed more comfortable pillows and a larger breakfast room and maybe a couple more towels in the bathrooms, only had two. Other than that things were good. Thanks for the stay and keep the staff their amazing!

My husband had to have surgery in the morning. Course we were done before check in time. This hotel accommodated us and let us check in early. The desk staff was very helpful and so nice! Also had forgotten tooth paste and they gave us some. Hotel was very clean, nice big rooms! I was very impressed with this hotel. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. I actually found nothing to complain about. Price was very good. Location was about 10 minutes from our dr. Plenty restaurants and mall just down the road! I would definitely recommend and will stay again!

This Best Western was in a great location in the midst of several dining and shopping spots. Very quiet and peaceful with an above average continental breakfast – we enjoyed the spot so much we stayed a second night. The staff was extremely kind and legitimately concerned that we were having a good stay. Awesome massive outdoor pool and a killer Chinese/Thai restaurant & bar that I ate at twice in one day. Our rooms were in good repair and room service was eager to make sure we had what we needed. We'll be back. A+

We stay in Best Westerns quite frequently and whyile I usually find them to be satisfactory, this location had a few problems. There was a dirty wash cloth left in our bathroom and not enough towels were left for the two of us. There was hair that didn't belong to either one of us in the bathtub. The light next to my side of the bed was not working . Cleanliness is top priority for us so we weren't happy ablout the dirty bthroom.

We stayed the weekend for a wedding. A lot of our family stayed in the same hotel, which was nice! Staff was great! The area is very nice and safe. The layout of the hotel is great; make sure you request an outdoor room for smoking and indoor for non-smoking. Free Continental breakfast was HUGE; waffles, eggs, danishes, cereal, and much more! We were surprised! The rooms are nicely sized, with a large bathroom as well. Cleanliness was above average as well. It was also very convenient to have a restaurant in the hotel. The food was okay, not great, but okay. A watered down, very Americanized Chinese food restaurant; but it satisfied our hunger. The fitness center was nice as well. We'd definitely stay again as it was not expensive at all for what you get. We give it a thumbs up!

Check in was easy, room was clean and beds comfortable. Wifi was easy to access. While close to the highway we did not notice any traffic noise. The free Breakfast was nicely done, good selection of items. We stayed in room 172 the only issue we had was the tub/shower was EXTREMELY slippery - very dangerous, spoke to the front desk about that the next day and asked for a shower mat, we were offered a towel to stand on!!! Went out and bought a mat to keep from falling - this should have been supplied.

First off I have to give a shout out to the amazing staff @ this Best Western. I called in to review my staff over the phone with Gabriel and he was a tremendous help! Also Courtney checked me in and was very accommodating and was just impressed by both of their customer service. The location here was near a lot of restaurants and shopping so that was a plus too. The room itself was comfortable and clean but the only reason I give it a 4 or not 5 is because it seems a bit outdated and needs a renovation l. Besides that everything was a great! Thanks!

Best Western is rebranding itself with remodeling hotels. We stayed at one in Mississippi that was great, and booked this one based upon that experience. Boy were we wrong. While the lobby was updated, the halls had holes in the wall, the exterior concrete was uneven, the room was clean but had stained upholstery chairs and cheap towels. Very disappointing.

Everything worked out well, was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and location. Too bad they don't have sidewalks so one can walk to the mall and surrounding stores and restaurants. One can go to many fun places. Downtown Johnson City is a nice place to walk around and eat and drink locally to get the local flavor. Very friendly people and town.

"Bad experience"

I would not recommend this hotel but would recommend Gabe (the desk person) for a raise. My daughter and I had a very bad experience with people drinking near the entrances (there was an attached restaurant) and ask for our money back. We felt very unsafe after going out for dinner and coming back to the room the first night. Gabe was wonderful. He escorted us to our room, waited while we threw the few items we had unpacked back into our suitcases, escorted us to our car and helped us load our luggage. He made sure we had a place to go to that late. We had family in the area but didn't want to impose on them as they were preparing for a bridal shower in their home, which was the reason for our trip. They welcomed us gladly.

The Best Western in Johnson city Tennessee is hands down the cleanest and most common Beat Western I have ever stayed in. The rooms are gigantic and the bends are soft and clean. Wifi is super fast and the hotel staff is super helpful. Hot breakfast in the morning and nice outdoor swimming pool. Plenty of snack machines located on the premises and a ton of restaurants near by. 5 stars would stay again

"Got better, but no safe."

Nice people, good location. Hotel, including pool, is getting old, but seems well maintained. Typical BW breakfast. Well stocked. Only real problem was the safe did not work. Said they were "waiting on the technician." Should not they be able to fix or reset a safe? Did have a big party on Saturday night and music ("thump, thump,thump") was all over our the north side of the hotel till the wee hours.

The room smelled awful and the room was dank. The table in the room was ready to fall apart and the floor in the room was sticky and smell terrible! The shower didn't work and the sheets hadn't been changed. The room was dark because the dingy paint color and the poor lighting And it was a smoking room which I didn't register for but was told that I had to take it.

My wife reminded me that we stayed at this Best Western many years ago but I don't remember. Maybe someday I will. For this stay, I was surprised at how much room we had. We had a king-size bed but even taking that into account, there was plenty of room to move around feel comfortable.

All staff are exceptional and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. They are all warm and friendly, ready with a smile and hello. The location can't get any better, right off the freeway and so close to restaurants and shopping with many choices. I travel for a living and stay in hotels 4-5 nights a week, I've stayed in many hotels/motels throughout Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana and for this area of Tennessee, this Best Western is the ONLY place I stay. I use the CLC company card and this is also the only franchise that gives you member bonus points, so for those of us that are a little limited with the CLC, this is hands down your go to home away from home.

I stayed at the Best Western in Johnson City. The hotel is older and definitely outdated. I think it should be rebuilt from the ground up. The restaurant onsite was good and the location was great. I would visit Johnson City again, and stay somewhere else.

Everyone at this hotel was helpful courteous. The hotel and lounge were great the food was excellent. The pool was clean . Breakfast at everything you want it. People at front desk were very helpful with letting us know about what was going on in the area and any information we asked for they gave it to us .

The bath and shower needs some TLC, but overall nice stay. Good staff and clean linens. Not far from any of the amenities in town and much cleaner than many hotels in this area. We had no issues on our stay or reservation.

Toilet seat was broken upon arrival and also bath rub would not drain. Dirty towels were left in our room when we checked in. There is absolutely no noise control and intoxicated adults urinating outside of our room at night. There was a constant mildew smell and a blood stain on our comforter. There was also,what appeared to be dried lotion or wax on the headboard that was not cleaned off.

Great staff, great service, the room was immaculate and the bathroom was huge compared to most places. The initial temperature of the room was very hot, took almost all night to cool off. We ended up driving around a few hours to let it cool down.

My cousin and I stayed here for one night recently. And it was genuinely terrible. It started off rocky. At check in we got all sorts off attitude from the lady checking us in (she was black, not sure if you employ more than one black lady at the front desk, didn't get a chance to catch her name, no name tag) How many times can one person roll their eyes? Seriously? Was that amount of attitude necessary towards us? We were just there for one evening, and you would think that at the rate we paid we couldn't at least gotten a "Thank you for staying" from her. THEN we got to our room and our keys wouldn't work. So we had to walk all the way back to the front desk and deal with this horrible lady again. Who insisted that from the time we left her the first time we did something wrong with the keys. From that moment on we decided that it was in our best interest to not have to deal with this woman anymore. We get settled in our room. And decide to go for a swim. Wrong. There was a couple making out in the pool. The water looked super cloudy. There were no towels. So we go back to our room and get changed after realizing it was too dirty and yucky. Then head to the mall for some shopping. We get back to the hotel and are tired from traveling, shopping and just want to get food and rest. Seeing that the same lady is no longer at the desk we ask the gentleman behind the desk what we should eat. Another mistake. It was one smart remark after another, followed my a horrible laugh. I'm sorry, but laughing after making a smart remark doesn't make it any less horrible. He was of no help. We crossed paths with TWO employees during our stay. And both were horrible. We should've stayed at the mall. At least everyone there seemed nice. And it didn't reek of cigarette smoke. We don't recommend this place. Just passing through to get to Florida, do yourself a favor and try to make it past to a nicer place. Literally...NICER. What happened to the southern hospitality we were expecting? Because we didn't see it. We got a rude black woman, and an (older?) man who complained about everything that had nothing to do with us and would laugh about it. Seriously, it was not related to our inquiries of food. We are completely dumbfounded about how things went with these people during our stay.

Clean and comfortable room, very roomy. The bathroom was clean and had a nice shower. Pool looked nice, the exercise room was good too. We had dinner at the oriental restaurant attached to the motel, and it was very good food and service. Nice to not have to leave after driving all day. Simple and reasonably priced for the night we stayed. Breakfast was typical but tasty.

REALLY? You would think a hotel would at least give you clean towels, right? And if there weren't enough to go around, make arrangements for someone to come in and wash some. We stayed here this past weekend over the 4th of July and upon coming back to our room on Monday evening we noticed we had ZERO towels in our bathroom, not even a hand towel or wash cloth. We are sunburned and sweating from being out in the sun all day and we needed a shower NOW! We called down to the front desk and was told there were no towels available and it would be the next morning when more would be available. The front desk clerk was not helpful at all in trying to resolve the issue. I even suggested that he open another room and grab one towel. He was unwilling to do that, nor would he contact anyone to try and resolve the issue. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! The following morning my wife started talking to the morning desk clerk and several other hotel employees about the situation and ALL of them stated that he had other choices. AND, when after we had checked out we realized we'd forgotten one of our therapy pillows in the room. We called back to the hotel and asked them to please grab it and put it at the front desk for us to pickup on our way back thru that evening. WELL GUESS WHAT? When we returned NO PILLOW! And guess what that same unhelpful, clueless desk clerk was there. He stumbled around looking and was unable to find it for us. AND, AND, AND.....We have left several messages on a manager voice mailbox and have not received a call back to help resolve our issues. SHAME ON YOU BEST WESTERN! THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT AND YOU JUST LOST ONE!

Went herr for vacation stayed six days. Things went pretty well for a few days and then everything went south. Got alot of party people staying there and they were very noisy and rude! We were very disappointed a/c we have stayed here before and never had a problem lile this before! I hope they get things straighting out and not let this happen to any other guests!

My overall impression about the staff was beyond exemplary. Service, at times is a forgotten and lost art. Once you have experienced it, as I have, you know immediately when it is lacking or non existent. The entire staff from check-in to check-out provided me with total and complete respect, kindness, and we even laughed and told stories, some mine and some theirs. We are all humans traveling this world. We journey together and sometimes we are alone and are our own path. Sometimes we get lost and loose our focus. They helped me keep my focus and stay safe. I am traveling by myself but I was not alone. My Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis is what it is. I have no excuses anymore. These total strangers cared about me, a total stranger, and treated me like family. Cameron (CAM) is a solid, well spoken gentlemen who knows without exception how to treat others with respect. He is mature beyond his years and will go far in life. I will remember him forever. He deserves all the happiness the world had to offer. To the housecleaning staff: My apologies to them for not getting their names. I was distracted trying to increase my Spanish vocabulary, I now know soap is (jabon ??) and shampoo is shampoo. Machina ?? de ice, I'll look that up later. Jessica and I laughed and laughed, She had cherries in her hair. That story is between the two of us. She knows what I have chosen to be in my next lifetime. You can tell anyone you want. With that said, as I am writing this, she is helping book my next destination, A BEST WESTERN, as I am on my way to spend the summer at mother's home in up state New York. Safe travels to all and please be kind to others. You have no idea what they may have to deal with right now. They, you and the global community deserve and need it. First, there were dead mice in one of the rooms! Not OK! The rooms in the older part are horribly musty and humid. The carpets were wet, for goodness sake. The pool was closed by the health department when we arrived. It did re-open, but still! One person in our friend group had the keys to her room given to 2 drunk men at 12:30 am because they somehow forgot to put her in the room in the system after they gave it to her. Again, thank goodness she had put on the bar that denies entry from the outside, or she and her 10 year old daughter would have had the men in their room as they slept! Then, the desk person had the audacity to laugh about it when she called down. the men stayed there and banged their bags against the door because they couldn't get in. How fun! NOT! They were out of towels because they were full. The air conditioning didn't work well enough to cool the rooms. I guess I could go on and ON, but I'm pretty sure that's enough to tell you to STAY AWAY! Oh, one last thing. Don't try to get anything from the breakfast area at 9:31, because they lock the door and shut it right at 9:30 and they are not refilling any food after 9, maybe even earlier.

We were in town for a FAMILY REUNION. We drove from Kannapolis NC which took us 3 hrs. Their was a HICUP on my mom's room but the staff was very professional and got everything straightened out. Our housekeeper was very impressive. She was in TOP OF HER GAME when it came to her job. We were in rooms 162/166. If we're ever in Johnson City TN, e will make reservations to this Best Western

This was the first time I have stayed at this Best Western. I was expecting a better quality facility. I have stayed at other Best Western's and have enjoyed my stay. It was obvious that the hotel needed has some general maintenance both inside and outside. The carpet in my room was so dirty that black dirt came off of my feet in the shower. I not saying I will never stay at this hotel again but it will not be my first choice.

Although the room appeared clean, it was very dingy looking. I think your interior rooms are more updated and appear brighter than the exterior entrance rooms. I like the pool very much but think you would benefit from upgrading. Also the shower doesn't stay warm. It can get annoying. Bedding was old and pillows were not very comfortable. Room was dark. The staff was very helpful and friendly and you have a great location.

Many things were not working well. The lighting in the room, the hot and cold water, the shower seems very old, the sink water barely ran. The bathroom is very very small. The iron board did not stay up.

"Disappointing night"

The entire portion of the hotel where the rooms were located desperately needs renovated. The elevator felt like a freight elevator, the carpet actually had holes in it, the furniture was literally glued back together, the paint job was sloppy, the bathtub didn't drain properly, the pillows were lumpy, and the mattress was the worst I've ever slept on. Seriously, a night in a tent might have been better. The lobby area, breakfast area, and the fitness center were nice and appeared as advertised. The pool was closed, so we cannot give an opinion.

We had booked 2 rooms for a two night stay with priceline. We usually trust priceline with hotel descriptions. This time they were way off. This hotel is not even close to a 3 star. We did not even make it to our rooms before we decided to cancel. Looked dirty,pool area had trash everywhere. We left and booked room with Doubletree which is a 3 star. No comparison!! This pics are misleading. This hotel reminds me of a hotel 8

First room had chips all over the carpet so moved into room 2 and it had chewing tobacco all over the nightstand. Third room housekeeping no showed on one of the days. Rooms were beat up. Somebody told me that if you book through a 3rd party they put you in the old beat up rooms in the back, Toilet seat was cracked...Worst hotel in America award!

Rooms were well kept and price was reasonable. Location was close to the main road along with only a 20 minute drive to Bristol Speedway and Drag strip which was the purpose of our trip. Would recommend to stay there.

This hotel is not bad, but I would not describe it as great either. It is mediocre at best. Rooms were large, but could definitely have been cleaned better. I did go to the front desk & request our room be cleaned again, & they did send someone from housekeeping to do so, & although it was better, it still could have used another cleaning. The next day again room was picked up, trash can emptied, & bed was made, but used towels were left in bathroom on floor, & the dead Moth that was on the floor in the corner of the bathroom/tub area was still there. Floors needed to be vacuumed, but were not. Although the front desk lobby help is very friendly, & helpful .... the housekeeping staff definitely needs a crash course in what housekeeping should be.

The girl at the front was not polite from the beginning. Watched me park from the window and unload, then when I came in told me I had to move my vehicle. Then they put me in a smoking room which was horrible smelling and I had to go back and tell I wanted non smoking room. Room very dated and old in appearance especially in the bathroom. After I left the hotel the next morning I began to itch on my chest and shoulders and right thigh. As the day progressed it turned into a horrible rash and I have had to buy medicine and treat it for 2 days now. I don't know if it was from the washing soap for the linens or if it was something else but I didn't have it when I checked in. As I am leaving to my vehicle I go out the side door and you must walk across the grass and next to the curb were syringes laying in the grass. I would not recommend this hotel nor ever stay their again. I stay in many hotel a year for my work, about 200 nights a year and this was a very poor hotel and not like the other Best Western I have stayed in. Also, at night, as I looked out the window people were sitting around in the parking lot and around the back of the hotel on the curb. I don't know if they were homeless or working. If you do stay there make sure you have Benadryl in your travel bag, you may need it. May 18, 2017

"Nice hotel, Great Breakfast"

I found this hotel to be a real bargain and at the same time superior to most of the Best Western Plus's I have stayed in and I have stayed in many, being a Diamond Select member. Although I paid around $80 for the night, the rooms were impeccable, the internet was screaming fast and the breakfast was GREAT. Many selections and and nice large breakfast area with everything laid out so that you did not bump shoulders and stand in a long line trying to access the waffle machine. The room was of decent size, the TV crystal clear with the bed nice and soft. The place is obviously well managed. I will definitely stay here again when passing through the area.

Stayed eight nights while visiting family. This property has done some remodeling since we stayed there last which gives it a more refreshed look and new entryway. Front desk staff friendly and polite. Breakfast was fine, typical of a chain hotel breakfast. We got a good rate for staying multiple nights which made this a much more cost effective choice for us compared to the other chain hotels, especially since we were away from the hotel except for sleeping. The room was clean and daily housekeeping service did a good job. The room has all the amenities you would expect--coffee maker, microwave, fridge, good size tv screen. You don't really hear guest noise between walls but you definitley hear noise/voices in the hall and slamming doors. This could be fixed with proper door closure apparatus. Other guests don't seem to understand they should speak quietly in halls and not slam their door.

"Trip from Fl or WV"

When we travel to visit family, we try to find a Best Western. This Best Western was the closest to where we were traveling and needed to stop. It was 12 miles off of Rte 81, and was pet friendly (thought $15 was a little excessive for a small trained dog). The employees were very nice, good breakfast and clean room. I would recommend it.

First the front desk clerks were not friendly and rude. Then about day 5 of staying there I went and added another night and this was at 11am she informed me I owed a night. Which is impossible when I had paid everyday I stayed and why would they not have brought it to my attention that day before. Well they would not refund my 7th day and was very ugly to me. I paid 7 days and only stayed 6 nights. I want a refund or them to do something.

It's a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options and prompt service. It was great to have healthy options like whole wheat bread, fruit, eggs and oatmeal. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Our group booked this hotel and was concerned, but when we arrived all of our concerns were put to rest. Newly renovated hotel with a restaurant and bar, who could ask for more. It was conveniently located in Johnson City and the rooms were large. A good bang for the buck!

This hotel is basic but very clean and well run. The beds were comfortable. Doors open to the outside but it was fine. It was a great option when Fredericksburg was sold out and is fine if you need a place to stay for a night. We did not try breakfast but reviews seem to be very positive. Bathrooms could be updated but they were very clean and the towels were new.

Cost too much, dirty, carpet discussing. Would not recommend to anyone, this place is in need of a deep clean and update. room doors, hallways were nasty. Would not even drink their coffee. Did not check in until 0500 am .. was told I had to be checked out by 1100 am the same day and was charged the full price. even with AARP, Corp Discount, and or Military.

"Good place for the money"

The stay was pleasant overall. The breakfast was average for the money and the staff were receptive to the needs of the customers. The only item that was not up to their stated standards was the trash left on the floor in the hallway. Nothing serious and the staff cleaned it up when notified.

This hotel was ok, it was basically just a place to sleep. Breakfast was kind of cold but the gravy was tasty. Staff was nice and room was clean. Bathroom tub drain was kind of clogged. Bed was comfortable.

Close to the road easy access the fun stops there !!! I am here with aprox 150 other people we are here for a Venue in this hotel which most of us booked rooms for 2 nights, We are using their banquet room their bar is setup for a 2 day tournament that started sat morning at 930am and ended sat night at 11 started back up at 930 am and ends at 5, we are generating a ton of revenue for this location,, But housekeeping could care less, we requested late check out with this type of venue we usually get 2 or 3 o'clock they want you gone at 11, they reluctantly gave us till noon ! At 11 they pound on your door telling you no one got a late check out, we told her to check with front desk, front desk said they didn't know !!! Come on !!within 30 seconds the front desk calls informs me that if We stay they will charge me 30 for 2 o'clock check out, while on the phone with her housekeeping comes to the door again and asks when we are leaving we told her if they'd let up pack up we would be gone,she said she would be back at 1 to clean the room !! Now we just had the supervisor pound on the door at 1212 telling us that lady didn't have the right to do this, But its my problem NEVER AGAIN NOT HERE

First off, there was no prearranged late check out, per your coordinators contract. You are right, there were many people in your overall group, and when it was explained that they would have to pay a late check out fee to stay until later afternoon, they understood and paid, as we would lose those rooms for that day as we would not be able to clean them at such a late time. We had many compliments on our service for your group. Secondly, your room/people with you, had been sighted by multiple team members as drinking all morning long, and by normal checkout time, some had become quite belligerent, so much so, that one of my housekeepers locked herself in a bathroom, as she was being harassed by one of the people in your room as he had a beer in hand at the time. All you had to do is inquire about our check out policy at check in, instead of assuming you could have the room for an entire extra day without paying, meaning we completely lose the revenue for that room. Our policy is more than fair, and most in Darts group did inquire, and as such made their decision to either checkout at normal time or pay the modest fee to stay most of the next day.

"Terrible Stay"

Hotel not clean, shower was broken, breakfast bar was opened late and food was cold/stale. Location was great, but other then that I will never stay there again. Other travels beware. Check in was easy, but down hill after that. We checked in and then left to enjoy the holidays, when we returned to hotel approx. 11:30 that when we found the issues.....very disappointed.

I have stayed at this property numerous times over the last several months. While the construction going on during renovations were a little annoying, it ultimately resulted in a much nicer property with more comfy rooms. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I have to say. I was making plans to rent out the banquet room for a baby shower. I inquired at the front desk about a certain date and was told by Pam that it was not available. We chatted for a few more minutes and she informed me that the reason I could not have the banquet that weekend was because there was going to be a Halloween-Swinger Party Event! I was pretty shocked that, A)an employee would share that type of info with a guest and B)the owners/management would allow that kind of thing at their place of business. She went on to tell me details of previous swinger events that I'd rather not repeat. I found that very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I also find it disturbing that this type of thing would go on. I feel this puts a blemish on the reputation of the hotel. You can't cater to families with that going on. Another negative experience I had was the maintenance man who completely ignored my request to unclog my sink! I kindly asked a house keeper who told me it was Dave's job to do that. He came to my room, looked at the sink and said he'd be right back with the necessary tools. 3 hours later my sink was still clogged. I got tired of waiting and decided to grab a bite only to see Dave outside smoking and talking to fellow employees! I figured my sink would be fixed when I got back from dinner. No such luck. When I made a second request for him to fix it, I was told he was "probably gone for the day". Unacceptable. I was very disappointed with my last stay. And it was indeed my LAST stay. I will not give my hard earned money to a hotel that have no standards. I also advise them to train their staff to follow up with guests and do what they say they are going to do. Leaving a request unattended is just careless.

Friendly staff, very clean rooms. The bed was a little firmer than I usually like but it was very comfy and they put 4 pillows on each bed which I appreciate. The hotel is being renovated but that didn't affect our comfort or sleep. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Before I begin my review, I would like to say that I won't be holding this property to the standard of what I believe a 3 star hotel experience should be. If I were to do that, this would be a very negative review and frankly would not be fair to the property. I will be holding this property to the standard of a 2 star (Quality Inn, Microtel, etc) standard. With all that out of the way, it is important to note that this property is a strange hotel/motel hybrid. Unfortunately, I was assigned a room in the motel section because they were all sold out of interior rooms. Initially, I was assigned room 153 but the key reader on the door was not functioning (despite multiple attempts by both me and the front desk employee). As a result, I was assigned room 150. The room was ok. One thing I really enjoyed is how large it was. The bed was somewhat comfortable. It wasn't the best I have ever had but certainly not the worst. The shower was really strange. In order to get an acceptable temperature, I had to turn the hot water all the way on and barely turn the cold on. The safe didn't work at all and the TV was large but that didn't matter because the majority of channels are not in HD. Internet speed, on the other hand, was actually quite good. As far as the property itself, the breakfast was adequate. It wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. The worst part of my stay happened at 2:30am on the last night I was there. The fire alarm went off and apparently that meant go out to your car, blast loud rap music. There was also a very distinct illicit drug smell in the air. Obviously the hotel cannot always control that but be aware the type of clientele you are likely around. Will I stay there again? Likely no.

Of course, if you book directly with us, instead of using a third party booking agent such as priceline, you have the opportunity to request the type of room you prefer. We also offer any channels that are offered in this area in HD, and we provide quite an extensive line up of channels, that most guest enjoy. There was a large area in this area that lost total power for a short time that set off our alarm temporarily and I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you. Staff was very nice, Room very bad the shower you either had hot or cold water no happy medium. They told us they had laundry room when we booked the room so I went to do clothes while my husband was doing other things and it was only one washer and one dryer I put my clothes in dryer and it wasn't working I find out cords goingStaff was very helpful the maintain man come and got the clothing and dryed them for us. They are updating so if we ever get back there I would check it out before booking!

"Worst hotel we've ever stayed at"

This is Suppose to be a better rated hotel in the area. However you will be in for a HUGE disappointment. While we were here the whole hotel was under renovations and destroyed looking once you got past the front doors. The bathrooms flooded out in the hallways due to a faulty septic system which caused the whole hotel to have a horrible odor. The list of things go on and on. I will probably never stay at another best western again after this.

Nice hotel for short stay. Disappointed in maintenance of swimming pool, water was green in color. Breakfast selection was limited. Would have like to see more variety in selection. A free morning newspaper at room would also have been greatly appreciated

Staff was great to work with, pool was nice and rooms were comfortable and spacious . Local pizza place (Fox I think) was awesome with quick delivery to the pool! Bar was also pretty cool and pretty busy my last night but still plenty of safe parking.

We were moving to our new house in Tennessee from NY and used this hotel as our first nights stay ad wr got in real late. The hotel was better than we expected, the rooms were very large, very clean, the staff was very friendly and accomodating, and it had one of the best free breakfasts ever. Real southern hospitality

Lovely accomodations despite the exterior updating that was going on. The noise did NOT affect of comfort in any way and the hotel personel were very apologetic about the inconvenience. Our room was spotless and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and well lit and the elevator was just around the corner which made our 3-floor accommodations very accessible. We did not require any type of assistance during our 2-day stay but it was offered by everyone we came in contact with. The entrance from the highway was good but exiting required a bit of maneuvering howbeit not the least inconvenient.

Went to Best Western with coupon from TN welcome center. They would not honor it because there was little vacancy, but could offer $20 off the regular price which was $20 more than the coupon. We stayed because we didn't feel like chasing down coupon offers elsewhere that might also be denied. There was a lot of activity where by hotels were being filled, perhaps due to people coming to stay and see foliage in the mountains. The room was a double queen and was advertised as being recently updated or renovated. The lobby area was being worked on. The bed was old and worn out, we sagged into the middle and I'm lucky I didn't get a back ache. I did inform the clerk at check out and she made a note of it. The room did have a nice fresh smell to it. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices.

"2-Star, lacks in cleanliness "

Best Western is advertised as a 3 star hotel but does not live up to the expectations. There were several areas within the hotel room that needed to be cleaned (the table, behind the toilet, bathroom walls, floor next to night stand). The outside grounds were littered with garbage. The hotel room walls are very thin, we were woken up by noise from other rooms and noise from outside. To end on a positive note, the room was spacious and the beds were comfortable.

In operation during remodeling. Hotel good in all areas. Hotel restaurant well priced, generous portions and good quality. No reason to eat off site. "Convenient to Shopping and Dining"

This property was undergoing a facelift at the front entrance but the alternate entrance was clearly marked and check-in was a breeze. The staff was courteous and very friendly. Our king room was spacious and the bed provided a great night's sleep. This hotel is convenient to shopping, dining, and the interstate and is an ideal place for an overnight stay when visiting the local area or the mountains. I will stay here again the next time I head for the mountains.

Saturday night so there was no renovations going on hotel was clean as well as our room and bathroom room was very comfortable but I wish Best Western, would invest in bigger pillows. Hotel under renovations but clean and helpful staff made it seem like all was normal. Rooms were clean and hotel staff very helpful. Restaurant was clean and staff nice. They did not rush us out . Had a good menu. Bar was not loud or rowdy.

We had to evacuate due to hurricane Matthew and ended up in Johnson City at the Best Western as we waited until most places were full. Upon arrival they made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. We were checked in by Chelsea who was great and had several instances to deal with Pam at the front dest. Even though the hotel was undergoing renovation our room was clean, neat and all staff that we encountered were excellent. Obviously management believes in customer service all the way to each employee.

Hotel was full and breakfast still had plenty for all. Was great that they allowed us to use an overflow room to have a table for breakfast. Parking was fine even though hotel was full. They were remodeling but made the front desk easy to get to.

Crap Hotel. In Johnson city TN for the Storyteller Festival, we Came back to hotel room second night in a row to door open. Could not lock the door when we left so we had to carry all belongings with us to car this morning. Was assured by maintenance by phone that it had been fixed. Total LIE. Came back to hotel tonight to door being open. Desk manager was called. A "maintenance " man comes to room in cargo shorts and a concert tshirt riddled with smoke to repair door. Also woke up this AM to a vanity full of ants !! Morale of this story is if the Best Western is the only hotel available....sleep in your car.

Worst place I have ever stayed...I hate to give any hotel a bad rating, but customers need to know.....Beds were broke down couldn't sleep on them, bath tube bottom was bubbled up couldn't stand in the tube. Look like the local hangout.

Overall my stay was enjoyable. The Hotel is currently undergoing a remodel of the exterior which made me wary at first, but the overall experience was good once you get inside. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Make sure you check out the Revitalization Project in the Historic Downtown Area and Historic Jonesborough is really neat as well.

Stayed one night in September. Drove around building three times before I could find entrance. Very dated. Pool closed. staff friendly. Hotel is being remodeled. Rooms updated but very poorly finished. Not worth the $95 + to stay here. This hotel is in line with the current trend of updating old hotel/motels with minimal cost and effort. It shows walking through the place. I seen the night before in a brand spanking new hotel in Kodak and it was a world apart. Nothing within walking distance. Multiple trips to bring luggage to 3rd floor (luckily I had a hand cart I bring with me.Thai restaurant on site.My advice. Pick another hotel.This is WAY OVERPRICED. On the plus side, rooms are spacious. New beds and linens and furniture. . Pillows new and clean. Overall the hotel not clean with the exception of my room. Another negative is zero walkability. Need auto to get around. Only upside is staff were very friendly. Room dusty and my allergies acted up. Itchy all night.

Since we are under a significant exterior renovation, there is little more mess than normally, but in the end we will be able to provide a much better and updated hotel to our guests. Luggage carts are often times not returned to their designated places, but if you had contacted our front desk team we would have found one for you on the spot. "A bug infested motel within a hotel"

I think the reason this hotel doesn't get as many terrible reviews is because it is rarely full so guests don't often get put in the 'problem' rooms. I came during an event at Bristol so I was not so lucky. I've stayed at plenty of Best Western's across the country and the brand is pretty reliable so I figured this was the best bet since there was pretty limited availability in the area. The first thing you notice when you get to the hotel, other than the construction on the entrance is that there is a motel stuck onto the back of this hotel. There are two separate buildings one is a hotel and one is a motel. First room I was give was 174, the first room you come to on the inside of the hotel, it was dark, dank and had bugs on the sheets and on the floor. Even when I turned all the lights on in the room it was still dark. There was about a 3/4" gap between the door to the room and the floor which is great if you're a bug that want's to get in, not so great if you're a person in the room. There was no stopper in the sink, one of the lamps only partially worked. I complained and was luckily moved to room 372 which was fine for the rest of the stay. We had three other rooms that we booked at this hotel and all of them had the same problem with bugs. From that point on until my departure from the hotel I had no additional problems and good service until..... wait for it I get a $236 pending charge on my AMEX. I had pre-paid all three nights at the hotel. Turns out that the GM of the hotel made the decision to charge me a full nights rate at the current night rate for checking out late. I spoke with a member of staff and informed them I had to check out late because of work. I was over at the Bristol Motor Speedway. While attempting to get back to my late check out time I got stuck in terrible traffic which happens quite often around there. I spoke to another staff member and advised them of my predicament, no problem they said. Stopped by the front desk when I got back to the hotel to get a new key and grab my bag, also no problem. I stopped by the front desk minutes later on my way out with said bag and was bid a fond farewell. Then two hours later get a notice from AMEX that I was being billed additional by the hotel. I immediately contacted the hotel to rectify the situation but was told that the GM was not gone and would not be back until Monday and I would just have to wait until then. I left my contact details with the front desk and asked for an immediate response but here it is Tuesday and nothing. The good reviews on this hotel are customers that have been lucky to dodge the problems, this was such a terrible stay that I'll never be able to trust the Best Western brand again since I thought they had a fairly high standard. In fact this is supposed to be a Best Western Plus no less. Given the option to stay elsewhere in a reliable hotel take it, even if its 30 minutes away. I would have commuted daily from Knoxville rather than have to deal with semi sleepless nights waking up to do bug checks so I could rest.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us here at the Best Western, fsview11. We work hard to provide great accommodations for our guests and frequently receive high praise from our guests. After examining your room and area with our pest control team, we did not see evidence of any of the "bug" issues you mentioned, but we treated the room anyway as a precautionary measure. In terms of your late check out, it is customary to charge guests that stay after our check out time, as we often times cannot prepare the room for that night, and we lose revenue on that room. As you did not actually leave the room until after 3:00 P.M., we had to assess a late check out fee. I authorized a half day charge, which for that day was $110.00, but I see that you were charged a full days charge. I have therefore credited your card back $110.00, which leaves the correct charge for your very late check out. Thank you and have a great day.

My wife and I stayed at the Johnson City Best Western Hotel. This hotel is conveniently located right off highway 26. The staff here is excellent. I worked for Kings Motel (now a Howard Johnson's in Kissimmee, Florida) and I know how important the staff is to giving customers a great stay at a hotel). This staff has been well trained to treat their customers right. Most of the rooms has been updated, the tile in the bathroom needs to be updated. The room was spacious and quiet. Our room needed a new mattress, the mattress sinks in towards the middle when you get in it. No bugs in room. Good security, you need a key to get on hotel floor. The ac in the room is noisy. The pool is sparkling clean and had nice privacy. We have stayed at Best Western Hotels in the USA and in Europe ( Annecy France). Best Western is constantly very good. Best Western has great standards.

"Rooms bady need to be remodeled!"

Our room in the back building was converted to non-smoking and smelled like cigarettes. The carpet was filthy and it, the furniture, sink and bath tub were covered in cigarette burns. Instead of remodeling the lobby they badly need to gut the back building and bring it up to Best Western standards.

Had the best time thanks to Housekeeping"s Wendy!!! She told us places we would never have found and they were awesome not to mention how great she took care of our room. I have stayed at this hotel many times while visiting my family in the area. Never complained my previous visits. The hotel is remodeling and painting the exterior. Breakfast is basically the normal complimentary hotel breakfast. It is an older hotel. In previous visits, rooms have been nice. Many of the rooms have interior entrances and are accessible from the main lobby without having to go outside. This is the area I have stayed in my previous visits. However, on this visit, I was given on room on the far backside of the hotel. All these guest rooms were exterior entrances. The area looked sketchy. Lots of older model cars and guests who were either construction workers or living in the hotel. Security cameras on poles outside. I didn't feel safe. I told my wife, they have put us on skid row! Upon checking in, I asked if a king room was available (I'm tall), and he said all kings were taken. Strange, the hotel parking lot looked like 25% occupancy. The room itself had a slight odor. The bed was not properly made. The bathroom was dated. When I took my shoes off, it felt like the carpet was slightly sticky, so I lined the walking areas with linen so I wouldn't have my feet touching the carpet. I booked through a third party hotel booking site as in my previous visits. Prepaid for two nights. Had I not prepaid, I would have left. My wife told me to never book us here again. It is not the quality and safe feel we have had in the past.

We do have cameras throughout the property for our guests' safety. Our kings do sell quickly, but if you book with us directly, you can actually request the room type you want rather than take what the third party booking agent gives you. We have a rate on bestwestern.com that matches any of the third party rates, and gives you much more control of your reservation. We will use your feedback to improve and ensure that during this renovation phase, we are even more diligent about ensuring that all rooms on property are top notch for our guests. "Quality sleeping experience"

This is my first time to stay at this hotel and if you are looking for a very peaceful sleep, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is undergoing a remodeling/upgrading so I can imagine that it will only get better. The breakfast was better than other hotels and the friendly workers in the breakfast area are very nice and a pleasure to talk to.

"Bad Service, Bad attitude"

We stayed 2 nights, had 2 rooms. Rooms were worn, but mostly clean. A/C in 1 room worked great, the other had a hard time keeping up, then made a loud clunk sound everytime it shut off. Breakfast was crowded and constantly out of items. Hot water went out one morning at about 9 am. We called the front desk. An hour later, we followed up and were told the maintenance guy was finishing something else up, he'd get to it when he could. We were told "Don't you know its the weekend?". about 6 hours later, we finally had hot water. Icing on the cake, they double charged me for my rooms (once when I reserved on their website, then again when we checked out.)

"Bad service and bad room"

We stayed one night and it was not good, I'm glad it was only one night. We got to the hotel and I waiting almost 20 mins for someone to even come to the front desk. When we got in the room finally the bathtub had mildew and the toilet had a ring around it where neither looked to have been cleaned in some time. The toilet paper holder was missing completely. The coffee and tea looked like it had coffee spilled on it and the paper was brown. The outlet beside one of the beds was broken so if you wanted to charge your phone you needed to plug it in somewhere else. The bed's were hard as a rock and I think sleeping on the floor would have been more comfortable, if I actually trusted the cleanliness of it. The free breakfast was average but if you want a seat you will need to go early the breakfast room is not nearly as big as it should be for a hotel that size. I will not be returning to this hotel and it honestly should not be ranked as anything over 2 stars.

This location was surprising that it had a restaurant and bar area. We were very glad to see that after traveling all day. I had 2 rooms, 1 for the adults 1 for the kids. Very nicely decorated. The bathrooms were not cleaned well in one but the other was great. We had service animals and I was thankful for the outside access to rooms. Overall great experience and I would certainly stay again when I'm in TN

Name/location=Best Western Johnson city, TN Problems; 1. I want to get this out of the way right off the bat why we are not staying again. We reserved our room via Hotels.com specifically because it says they have cribs available for our little one. Unfortunately we found out they don't but room is paid for so what can we do?? Maybe Hotels.com knows something like all BW are supposed to carry cribs? I don't know, but seems to be a small investment in order to accommodate your family guests. 2. Entrance light was out, so we had to fumble to find lights in the room (only have a desk/table lamp all the way by the window and lamps on each night stand) Room is not well lite. 3. I had to call 3 times (giving several hours between each call and after waiting until the next day when maintenance came in) before someone finally showed up to change both burned out bulbs. 4. Halls are not well lite and very hot. Staff=B Desk seemed friendly and concerned about issues, but shouldn't take 3 calls to get lights on. Elevator=they have 2 and work fine Room= Large and roomy, could fit a small sofa or some more seating in there. Bathroom roomy as well. Came with Fridge= dorm fridge with freezer, safe, hair dryer, single cup coffee maker, iron and board Wi-Fi= 8 Mbps-no issues Room was #464 Tv-40"? Bed=C was hard, at least for me Pillows=B* small but soft Heating and air=C* Was on and off all night waking me up Shower=3 settings but no way to stop the tub for a bath Towels-large and soft but only had 1 wash cloth Toiletries-C* has a strong odor of lard Restaurant on site was-Rainbow Asian Cuisine, no discount for hotel guests Breakfast=(Sat 6-9) B* small eat in area, but they have overflow seating across the hall. Lots to choose from incl waffle maker, sausage,bacon, biscuits and gravy was all hot. No bananas but did have apples a oranges. Emma did a good job keeping things stocked and there is a place for tips for job well done. *No bacon the 2nd day as they ran out from day before. View=B (see pic) Pool=outdoor large ~20'x60' 3 feet deep to 8, I believe. No steps in this pool, so my wife who has a bad ankle could not get in with us to swim. It's on the cooler side, only solar heated. Location=for me West (North) bound, turn right and turn right into the parking lot. Very convenient. Also have semi parking lot. Parking-free Lazy review Pros-are good location, good breakfast, large room, large pool, RFID keys Cons-are air keeps you up kicking on/off all night long, hard beds, no cribs available, no pool steps, only 1 wash cloth, no bath stopper Hints- Sites say they have cribs but they do not. Summery-If they had a crib, I would stay again with all the extra features they have (large room, good location, and good breakfast) but unfortunately they do not, so I will not. For the price of- Price was- $93.73/night tx incl via Hotels.com I won't stay.

Value the restful peace. I did enjoy the morning complete breakfast choices. In the afternoon and evening the Asian dinning room is very comfortable and the food quiet tasty ! I spent a couple days and nights just relaxing and ordering in, it does help from time to time. The rooms are not fancy but they were clean and relatively quite.

Our stays at this hotel have always been good. The staff are very helpful but the breakfast area was crowded and there needs to be fresh fruit available. The eggs seemed like they were powdered eggs and not fresh.

Excellent value! This is a great hotel for the price. Very clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff, excellent location. Right off the interstate exit and easy access to downtown and the university. Looks newly remodeled. We would definitely stay again.

"Softball tourney trip"

As with most Best Western properties this an older hotel/motel. It has both inside and outside entry rooms. I would highly recommend requesting an inside entry room. We witnessed a lady running her "business" (trying to keep this g-rated) out of one of the outside entry rooms, and the lighting/security around the outside entry is poor. The nighttime front desk person also needs lessons in customer service. From working in retail I know the public can be a pain and are not always right, but to respond to complaints with "You can find another hotel if you like" should not be an option. Also requests for items such as towels were met with eye rolls. (After they got off their personal cell phone.) Best Western was usually one of the first hotels I look for when staying somewhere, but I think this stay has done me in.

The hotel was old , they have made some improvements , but their is 2 parts to the hotel one is a lot older than the rest , and as you would guess we were put in the old part. The breakfast was pretty good as the area you eat , the room was dated and the bathroom was very small , it was a bit overpriced at 114.00 a night , all in all it served its purpose , I would look elsewhere in the future .....

Hi Chad, thanks for leaving us your feedback. We actually do not have an "old part" we just have one building that has exterior access and one that has interior access. We have found many guest prefer to park in front of their rooms while some prefer to be in the interior building. Both buildings have been appointed with the same new amenities like micro/fridges, 41 inch flat screens, new mattresses, and much more. Our rates always stay in line with other hotels in our area. "Horrible experience"

Cannot say about other rooms... But at least 121 (if I remember right) is/was a disaster.... Not flushing toilet, rags around the water taps... and a bathtub.... where I for the fist time on our many days trip denied to took shower. The vacuum cleaner not used for at lest monts... Everything tens of ears old.. greasy... really horrible experience... Never ever rent a room there.

Dont work out here there is no gym. Watch for electrical wires in the pool. Dont expect great resolutions. Expect a smoke break when working with the desk people. The bed was very confortable and the 2nd room we got was clean.

This place was kinda disgusting. It's a motel first of all, which is not my favorite type of place. There were tons of people milling about the property and we were on the ground level which doesn't make me feel safe. Also, The door had a crack between the wall and door, so we could hear everything and almost see outside. Creepy. There were water stains all over the ceiling. The bathroom was dirty, had mold, the toilet clogged when flushed with just some toilet paper in it, the bottom of the bathtub was bubbled so it literally moved under your feet. It was also very loud. Like i said, you could hear people outside, but I could also hear everyone who flushed their toilet, or private conversations through the vents. Never again. How it has as a high a rating as it does is beyond me.

Stayed here for the NHRA Drag Racing weekend at Bristol Thunder Valley Nationals over Father's Day weekend 2016. Rooms were very clean and updated. Hotel staff was great too! Close to everything, restaurants, shopping and the drag strip. My granddaughters loved the pool too! Definitely plan on staying here again next year!

An older motel that is comfortable, has restaurant and bar, pool, workout room, great breakfast. Water pressure and temp was perfect. Internet was acceptably fast. Luggage cart had a flat tire. Staff really care.

"half way home stay"

it served it's purpose...there was nothing to eat for breakfast...went twice before checking out...nothing for my kids to eat either time. Not what we expected for the money that we paid....but my husband has spinal issues and needed a break in our 14-15 hour drive home from vacation

If you are looking for a nice place to stay while traveling through the area, I would recommend this hotel. The staff was very nice and the rooms very nice and a feeling of home to it. It was very convenient to local restaurants and not far off main highway.

I stayed at this hotel with my Motorcycle Club for our annual rally because of the proximity to "The Snake". The staff was friendly and receptive. The amenities were on point. If I travel back to this area in the future with my family, I would stay here again.

Stayed here, 3rd floor cigarette burns in beds, torn carpeting, stains on ceiling elevator out of service. Good enough for the price but nothing fancy by any means. Young man at front desk was useless & unable to look up my rewards number. Next day that staff member looked it up no problem. The Asian restaurant next door was fun, staff was super friendly and helpful, allowed us to bring our dog on patio

We stay here regularly when visiting family. This is my 2nd review and important because this was the first time we encountered 100% occupancy. The staff deserves a Gold Star for handling the crowd efficiently, especially the included breakfast. There was ample food, quickly restocked by friendly employees, for all the adults, teenagers and children in attendance. The staff circulated around the room asking if everything was OK and assisting the guests in finding what they wanted to eat and where they would be most comfortable sitting. The room across the hall was set up and available for overflow seating. They always have a variety of options for those wanting traditional southern fare and those, like me, who prefer oatmeal, yogurt and bagels & peanut butter. Large, clean rooms, free and fast WiFi, microwave and fridge, large TV - we have no reason to stay anywhere else when in Johnson City. There's even a great Asian restaurant in the hotel.

Hotel has a friendly staff but the rooms and exterior are pretty beat up and need renovation. Breakfast is marginal and the coffee is weak with a bad after taste. Good location right on an interstate exit. Plenty of parking but the entrances also are bear up.

As with most Best Western hotels I have stayed in, this one is clean and comfortable. Unless there is none available at the location I want to stay at, I always choose Best Western because I am always satisfied with the overall quality, cleanliness and the service at this brand of hotel.

A good price but keep your expectations in check. This hotel could use a face lift. The rooms were clean but a bit dated. High traffic areas were clean, but a closer look reveals overworked cleaning staff.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location for our baseball tournament. Rooms were comfortable, but could be a little cleaner (bathroom floor was sticky and there were dried soap pieces stuck to the shower walls from who knows when). Breakfast had a great variety... something for everyone!

If you have a problem with no-smoking rooms being a smoking room. Burns in carpet, sinks, bathtub. Do not stay at this hotel. Other problems, phone in room broken and could not use. Also electric clock radio had duct tape on wiring which was a fire hazard waiting to happen, and very noise stay which did not help us trying to sleep from persons taking loud in stair wells at 10:00pm and front desk said they could not help us. So stay at another hotel that cares.

We work hard to preserve the quality of our rooms, but we cannot monitor our guests once they are in the rooms, and sometimes guests abuse our property and smoke in our non smoking rooms. We do have a system to remedy the rooms when this does happen, but unfortunately this room slipped by us. All the staff were very friendly. We were in the area to look for lake front property and the staff was very helpful in giving us info on lakes in the region. Hotel was very clean and quiet. We had chosen to stay at this hotel for my sister's wedding, and initially were happy with the first day. However, the first night/second day we were surprised that the room smelled like smoke, especially since it was a non-smoking, interior room. Also, we had picked up some dinner and ate in the room the first day and found ants crawling all over the trash can and food bag within 20 minutes of eating! The first night, when the room still smelled of smoke, my husband went to the front desk to ask about it, and we were given two towels to cover the door frame. Then on day 3, I went to the front where the manager and another attendant was there, explained the situation, and they immediately moved the cigarette tower to another floor and offered to have housekeeping clean our room right then. When we got back later that night, the smell was better. Then the next night when we got back to the hotel, the tower was BACK at the door and our room smelled awful. Unfortunately, the hotel was completely booked and we were stuck in the room we had. We have family and friends who live in town, and have already told them about our experience. They have all said they will not be suggesting this hotel to their visitors.

I am sorry about the smoke issue Shaundra. As you know, we fixed the problem but another guest moved the smoking tower back to the location that was causing smoke intrusion in your room. I travel regularly for work and come to Johnson City regularly for a few days at a time. I have tried out multiple other "affordable" hotels in the area and this one has been by far the best option for the price. The manager and the staff do everything they possibly can to make sure your stay is comfortable and that you are taken care of during your time at the hotel. They are continuing to complete renovations which are needed as it is an older hotel. With that being said, the rooms I've stayed in have been renovated and they are everything that I need to be comfortable and feel safe as a woman traveler. The effort put forth by management and the rest of the team here at the Best Western in Johnson City is truly more than I've seen at a lot of hotels and I've been travelling for work for 10 years. If you run into any issues with your room just reach out to the manager on duty and I know they will do everything in their power to make it right. This hotel also has a nice hotel restaurant. The food is great and healthy options are available! The service can be a little slow within the restaurant so if you're looking to get in and out in 30 minutes you may want to choose somewhere else. Went with granddaughter and daughter for review of ETSU. Parents had meetings with staff and future student choose schedule and met with advisers. This hotel was in a good location. Breakful was good. Staff was nice. Rest. was not very good that was attached. Beds were very comfy.

They have remodeled. It was all we needed. Microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, blow dryer, and tap key locks. Plenty of lights and cameras in parking lot. Breakfast from 6:30-9:30. Bar has happy hour from 4-8, and daily drink specials.

We don't get the reviews that have been written about this place. It's dirty, cigarette burns in carpets and in the bathroom, which is just plain gross. Reminds me of a horror flick. I'd rather drive an hour out of my way to stay somewhere decent which is what we're doing tomorrow. One night here is more than enough!

Make sure you request an inside corridor, these are the nicer updated rooms. Nice little continental breakfast, ( Biscuit and Gravy sausage, Eggs, waffles, Juice,Milk, Coffee, Yogurt, Cereal, etc.. Rooms were very clean and updated. I have however read some reviews about Beg Bugs that make me nervous on re booking. We had no problems!!

"Great place to stay"

This is a very clean place to stay and the check in person and check out person both were very friendly. The room was big and the beds were very comfortable. There was easy access to plug outlets for electronic devices. The bathroom was huge. Breakfast had many items including bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, and much more. It was easy to find the motel. The price was a great value. We plan on staying there again on our next trip down south. Easier to go south on this route due to less traffic.

"Less than what we expected"

We spent last night at the Johnson City Best Western and we were e little disappointed in the condition of the property. The check-in with Al went very well and we stayed in room 152. The room was clean but it had several noticeable issues. 1) The sidewalks to the rooms are painted and the paint is peeling in many places. 2) The caulking in the bathtub was loose or absent and just left a poor impression of the overall maintenance of the room. 3) There were two bars of soap on a soap dish next to the sink and one of them had been used. 4) The heating / cooling unit was noisier than expected and we wound up turning it off. This is a property that is showing it's age and for the price I paid I would have expected more. I had stayed at a BW in Roanoke five nights before and it was literally perfect. I paid almost exactly the same rate for both stays, hence my disappointment with this BW. I had read the Trip Advisor for this property reviews before making my reservation but obviously missed something when doing so. Please understand, the room was clean and offered plenty of room for the two of us. But I think I could have done better in terms of the rate and / or property condition, as there were plenty of newer lodging establishments near by.

We checked in for two nights. The first night was fine, room clean, bed comfortable, funny bathroom with sink being very low. Breakfast is wonderful! Second night we arrived back from visiting our daughter at college, as we walked down the hall toward our room we could smell a very strong smoke smell. I called down to the desk, the clerk said she could do nothing about it, even though they have a smoking rooms area. She gave me only excuses as to why there was nothing she could do because they can't control people once they are in their rooms. It was obvious which room the smoke was coming from and she said they would incur a $200 extra charge but only after I insisted we were moved did she offer to move us. I went down to get the key to the new room and she checked the room with me. She continued to give me excuses! It is sad that those that follow the rules get excuses for those that don't!!! We had to pack our things and move because of the deviant, rude behavior of others! We will not stay here again!

We lived overseas for 11 years and spent many nights in hotels. This is right up there with the worst. The second day the room was not cleaned. We had queen size sheets on king size beds. The staff at the front desk was not helpful. Making a note of the problems for the next day, does not work.

This room could have been cleaner but the bathroom was horrible. Heavy dirt in corners plus the tub was stained and looked as if it had not been clean. We did not even shower that morning as we did not like the looks of the tub.

"Mixed bag of Hotel Blunders"

This hotel has the good and the bad. Service staff is very good. It's a hard working staff at an outdated hotel. One of our rooms key card entry systems died, one room's air conditioning unit would not stay at a consistent temp, a couple of the room's showers would go from the extremes of freezing cold or scalding hot water, one room had bed bugs. The cardio equipment was alright. They replaced the elliptical while we stayed there but the treadmill seemed liked it picked when it wanted to work. Breakfast was pretty good and the bar in the hotel was also good.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is very old and needs updating. The toilet ran all the time and the shower was awful because it went from extremely hot to freezing cold continuously. The beds were just okay. The hot breakfast was not so hot.

"Surprisingly Very Nice!"

We were a little skeptical about previous reviews and seeing the older outdoor building when we first arrived, but when we opened the door to our interior corridor room, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was huge for a standard 2 Queen room and seemed to be recently renovated. The carpet looked clean, the furnishings were very nice, the bathroom was large and the beds were comfy. The hotel offered complimentary breakfast, which was standard, but nice. There was someone always there attending to the buffet, cleaning or refilling. The front desk and housekeeping staff was friendly. It was cold that weekend which caused the walkways near the elevator cold and very drafty.

"Nice place to stay"

We always really enjoy staying here at this hotel. It is located near restaurants and shopping. Great price and the on site restaurant is great. The only downside was that the mattress was somewhat uncomfortable but I will state that we have stayed here many times and this is the first time this has ever happened.

"Won't Stay Again"

How in the world does this place have a 3-4 star rating??! There was a very unpleasant smell the moment we entered the long hallway that leads to the check-in counter. The doors do not open automatically, and there was only one luggage cart. The bathroom commode and counter were the right size for someone in kindergarten... unbelievably small! The breakfast selection was very slim. In fact, we ended up eating elsewhere. For positives: The staff was pleasant, the bed was firm, and the room was clean.

We stayed at this Best Western Plus for one night after a long travel day. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly but the king bed had a V in the center of the mattress and is in need of replacement. The hotel is older and although the room was clean, the bathroom could also use a little TLC. Breakfast was average.

So lets start with they gave us a double bed room instead of the king we should have had. I will reach out to orbitz on that.. In regards to the room being clean. It was for the most part and acceptable. What did suck on this was the Mexican workers on the other side of building yelling all night and the domestic fight that happened above us. Heat in the room was bipolar either too hot or too cold. They did tell me about a double delivery service that worked very well. To be honest with the way this hotel was i feared my car would be broken into.

I was a little worried about staying here in spite of the generally good reviews it received on Tripadvisor because the price was so low. At the end of the day, for a one night stay (a Saturday) in a no smoking room with two queen sized beds, tax and all, it was $60 dollars. The exterior of the hotel is not that fancy, but the rooms were clean and the staff professional--the 3 o'clock check in was a bit tardy, but as I generally check in early to most places, I can let an occasional late check in go. The hotel is attached to an Asian restaurant/bar that stays open to 1am and after the event we went to, we were able to enjoy a light meal--it was average--the waitress was friendly and attentive. The breakfast was the usual fair, powered eggs and powdered gravy but fairly nice biscuits. They did have a waffle maker, sausage and bacon, fruit, cereal, and yogurt. No complaints. I'll certainly stay here again, the location off the freeway, is close to so much stuff, that you can get just about anywhere in under 15 minutes. Th

The problem with Johnson City is that there are no centrally located hotels. All the hotels we could find were chain hotels off the interstate. So there really isn't much special when it comes to hotels in Johnson City. The Best Western was clean and the staff was friendly. Little personality.

We were dog tired and decided to stay on the road at the last minute and saw the motel listed in two separate motel guides at the Travel Center. We called and found a room was available and asked them to hold a room until we arrived. Upon arrival we requested to see the room before checking in. Check in was fast and easy and we fell asleep immediately. All in all, a satisfactory experience. Upon waking was a pleasant surprise of a home cooked breakfast. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for the night passing through. Check in was a breeze and the room was quite large. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The shower was finicky as far as hot and cold, but once you figure it out, it was fine. Would definitely stay here anytime.

Our stay at the Best Western Johnson City Hotel & Conference Center, Johnson City, TN was very good. The bed was excellent and the room was clean and spacious. Also, the breakfast was delicious and had lots to chose from! We really enjoyed out stay at this Best Western.

The JC Best Western provides a great value with above average clean rooms and friendly staff. We stayed at the hotel Thanksgiving week 2015. I had previously stayed at this hotel 2 years earlier. Check in was fast and friendly. We booked on a Priceline deal several weeks earlier, and check in was smooth. The Front Desk was responsive to requests during our week stay for extra towels and a minor maintenance issue. We had a large king room in the main building. It was quiet and very clean. The decor was a bit dated and very "warm" with lots of yellows, golds, and browns. The bedding was fresh, and the mattress was excellent. The room featured a flat panel TV with excellent cable service, a quiet refrigerator and microwave, desk with a modern mesh back chair, and an oversized upholstered side chair. The bathroom was impeccably clean, and had thicker towels (for 2). The usual single cup coffee maker & hair dryer were provided. Overall, the room appeared to have had a recent deep clean since there was no significant dust hiding in places. The general facility was clean and overall maintained, but there were a number of small maintenance issues (loose railings in the elevator) that kept the property from appearing "crisp." The interior hallways were cold, and we placed a towel at the bottom of the room door to stop drafts. The breakfast bar included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and bacon in addition to the usual carb feast of sweet rolls, muffins, DIY waffles, juices, yogurts and cereals. The local paper was available in the breakfast area. The free WiFi was adequate, and measured about 8Mbps download, and 600Kbps upload. It appeared each device was throttled to about 8Mbps download, rather than only 8Mbps for the entire hotel. It was adequate for general light web browsing and email. Video conferencing will not be satisfactory due to the slow upstream data rate. The lamp on the in-room desk has 2 grounded outlets, and there may be a few more outlets available on the plug strip behind the entertainment center. Outlets around the bed were difficult to access. There are 3 computers and a printer available in the lobby / business center. I used one computer to print boarding passes. Since it was running Windows XP without any active AntiVirus software, I recommend against using such a computer for accessing any websites requiring use of a password or financial information. The fitness room had older and functional Nordic Track treadmill and elliptical machines. It also featured dumbbells to 40 pounds, and an adjustable weight bench. The pool facilities were closed for the winter. Overall, the Johnson City Best Western is an excellent value with very clean rooms and friendly staff.

It is conveniently located and easy to get to. They are not the lowest price but I used them to accumulate points. There is a Thai restaurant in the lobby that I did not try. The building is showing it's age. I came for the night's rest and to have easy access to amenities and to be able to quickly get back on the road.

We were very impressed with the comfort of this hotel. Staff at the front desk were very welcoming and professional at check-in and check-out. We stayed in a king suite for two nights. The room was large, clean, plenty of hot water with an powerful shower. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Our room was clean, comfortable beds. Friendly helpful staff. Close to many restaurants and stores. I will book here when I am in the area again. My sister were here to visit my Dad. We felt safe. Close to major highways. Good location.

Could not ask for a better place to stay. Rooms were clean, quiet. Breakfast was excellent. The location was great as well, access to shopping nearby and other attractions. I will be sure if I travel to Tenn. I will stay in Johnson City

Nice clean hotel with a great Asian cuisine restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. This hotel has all of the amenities a person would want in a great area of the country. Pool, fitness center and restaurant are nice.

"Excellent Accomodations"

We LOVED this hotel. The front desk Manager was the best dressed reception we had on our trip. Very knowledgeable and considerate. The rooms were very large and very clean. We were so happy with the entire setup we extended our stay by four days. The hotel has an EXCELLENT Asian Restaurant and a nice bar attached to the hotel. We took advantage of the restaurant on numerous occasions and we were never disappointed. It was REALLY GREAT food and always fresh and fast.

"Very Clean and comfortable with a great staff!"

We weren't sure what to expect having never stayed at a best western before. There are two different types of rooms. The rooms in the front building are accessed from the inside and have easy access to the pool. All the other rooms are in the back and have doors that open to the parking lot. We stayed in a king room and it was clean and comfortable. There are coffee pots in the room and there is a breakfast area.

"leaf leaf peeping stop over"

Checked out lots of hotels for visit to Eastern Tennessee leaf peeping trip. Lots were already booked. Happy with the price of this location and the actual location. On site Rainbow Cuisine restaurant open until 1AM. Quiet, clean, spacious room.

"Great value"

It was great to already have the a.c. on in the room when we arrived. Also nice to have all the clocks in the room set to correct time. The bathroom has huge counter space. All else was very clean and comfortable. This is a 4 story hotel with interior hallways and an elevator and plenty of free parking. Free wi-fi worked just fine. The bar has a great happy hour where we only had appetizers for food, and they were excellent. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

"Efficient"

Stayed one night for a softball tournament, we will stay again. Check in was very quick. Room was clean and nice. Continental breakfast above normal. Plenty of plug ins and working lights. That may seem silly but when you have four people that need to charge phones and iPads and cameras this is appreciated. only complaint was water pressure.

"Good value for the money"

This is an older property but they work hard to keep it appealing. Nicely updated. The staff; front desk, breakfast and housekeeping were extremely nice and helpful. The exercise room was nice, the tv would not turn on. The pool had leaves in it. The restaurant and bar on the property are great. Asian, but huge portions, great quality. The barmaid was very funny and friendly. This was a good choice for the money. Clean.

"Seond stay, strange 'service'"

Water damaged room, tv remote didn't work, no maintenance or manager on site. I spoke to the receptionist after check-in re remote, and she asked a young lady that I assume was an employee where her boyfriend (supposedly the maintenance person) was . The young lady replied he wouldn't be there that night, and that the remotes in half the rooms would change channels, and the other half would control volume, but none did both. Hmmm... I assume he was the one snogging at the back of the building w/ her for a good part of the evening. It was raining heavily, and the already water damaged area of the ceiling got progressively larger by morning. I called the front desk and notified them of this. The gentleman didn't seem concerned, and when I asked to speak to the mgr. was told she wasn't in and wouldn't be in for 5 days.

"Two star at best"

This is an old hotel. Ammenities are lacking. Pool was dirty, the water is really as green as mentioned in another review. Our shower did not work, I reported it and when we came back from our day out, the faucet was gone! No note, no phone message, no explaination. The desk manager, gave us a different room, glad I noticed the missing fixture before I got up in the morning. Tile and tub liner cracked in bathroom. Pluses: flat screen tv, large vanity, microwave and refrig. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was standard, nothing special. Biggest problem for me is this is rated as a three star hotel, no way!

"Great Night"

It was a great nights stay...close to restaurants. We were allowed to leave our motorcycle under the canopy which was nice due to it raining overnight. Thanks for that. Will definitely be back. As soon as we walked into the lobby, we were greeted by smiling faces and they were extremely helpful. We have stayed there before and every time we are treated so nice. The restaurant is also really nice.

What a pleasant stay with friendly, informative staff! We were looking for a good spot with good food to watch football and they were bang on. The room was clean, comfortable and located near the freeway.

This hotel was outstanding! It's an older hotel that at first glance from the outside doesn't look like anything special. Our room was neat, clean and very comfortable. Double queen beds were excellent. The bathroom was large with a huge mirror that worked great with a family with three kids. The free breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel. If we ever come back to the area, I'll definitely stay here!

Went to the fitness center to get some exercise. My wife started the treadmill by pushing level one and start. the machine kept getting faster and faster and threw her off.She broke her leg and disloked her shoulder After surgery on her leg and a stay in a rehab hospital we finally got to go home but she may still have to have surgery on her arm. The owner of the motel stated that he was sorry but they were not responsible even though the machine malfunctioned and there was no emegency stop cord on the machine

The room was perfect. It had a coffee/tea maker, refrigerator, microwave, and flat screen tv. My boyfriend and I stayed at this location for two nights while on a road trip. This hotel had everything we needed. It was very clean. It served a good hot breakfast and had great service at the desk. We truly enjoyed our stay.

"Bed Bug Nightmare"

Checked in around 2:30 am after driving for 10 hours. Put my 2 grandchildren in 1 bed and my husband and me climbed in the other. I saw a small bug on the bed. My husband told me not to worry, he killed it and we laid down. I was very uneasy and got up to use the restroom. When I came back and pulled the covers back, the bed was full of bugs. After screaming hysterically, I googled bed bugs and sure enough!!!!!! My husband moved the mattress and there were hundreds. They were crawling all over us and our grandchildren. I thought I would have a nervous breakdown before I could shower and get out of there. I dumped my suitcase outside and saturated it with alcohol. The manager said just leave the key in the room and I'll credit the money back to your card. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I sure hope they took care of the problem. My grandchildren are still looking for bugs every time they lay down and I have had several nightmares since then. The worst experience ever!!!

This was a pleasant surprise. Room was very clean and modern with a large vanity in the bathroom. Request the newer building. The building in the back is much more modern. There are vending and ice machines on the floors.
