    « Making A Good Effort »

I have stayed at this location several times, and they seem to be improving the room quality every time I stay. Had the breakfast, and they made a good effort to keep it fresh and the area clean. The room I stayed in was recently refurbished--very nicely done.

    « Making Progress »

Mine was an overnight stay and I did not spend much time in the room except for sleeping. I was fortunate that I was given a newly rennovated room and it was super clean and fresh. Since the hotel is undergoing a major renovation, others may not be so fortunate. Be sure to ask. As for outside appearance, there is nothing on Third Street to say it's a hotel. Fortunately, my GPS said "turn here" and I did. Parking, because of construction, is limited. The entry is in the back facing an old building. It's a small desk with friendly people. That's nice. The elevators are near-by and smooth. It's downtown, but a casual walk along the main street (Third Street) is not likely to lift your heart. If you have a destination in mind, you can easily walk the entire downtown. You'll find the Desi-Lucy Museum a few block south. I did have some tips for the front desk on departure. The brand new clean showers, all nicely tiled, have no shelf on which to place your soap or shampoo. The floor is the only repository. There is also no grab bar (a must these days in any hotel shower or bath). the pillows (I had six on my King bed) are so over stuffed that my head was bent at a strong upward angle all night. In the case of pillows, less if often best.

« They are working to get better! »

The parking lot was tight and being worked on,the room we had was just remodeled but wasn't vacuumed. Told the desk about the room and they got right on it. I think they are in a remodeling mode at present and it will take some time to make it better, but they are trying! We were comfortable and the downtown location was close to the Lucy-Dezi museum. Overall, not bad and I do think it will be better when the work is complete.

    « Great quality »

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and we were very pleased with the quality of the room for the price. In the past we've paid more for what ended up being lower quality than what this hotel had to offer

    « Terrible experience overall »

Would not recommend this to anyone. Room smelled like mold, pool was dirty, had to park on the street and not in the parking lot, poor service by front desk.....could go on and on but don't want to waste anymore of my time on this hotel.

« Old and not up to par bad customer service »

Went for a hockey tournament and the location was perfect right across from the arena. However at check on Friday afternoon at 4 pm the lady wasn't very friendly and wasn't happy at my room request. I wanted the top floor to try to avoid all the noise. I was told it was closed for renovation. I opted for an end room at the far end in the 2nd floor. Big big mistake. Later to find out they put guests on the 3rd floor. I asked to move and was denied the request only to find out there were 3 rooms available on the 3rd floor. Sunday when I complained about room keys not working she said since you already moved once I can't move you again. I NEVER MOVED MY ROOM. I was told since the preassigned rooms and I asked at ck in a corner room the considered that a move. They said rooms are preassigned and can't move. What happened to customer is right and first. That night and the next 2 nights were hall was filled with kids from a younger hockey team that filled the whole floor played knee hockey the entire time. Stacked there stuff up in front of my door had to climb over it and constant noise and screaming and hits off the door I can see why the kids were rude because their parents filled the hallway with tables from the rooms and luggage racks for chairs and blocked the hallway daily and nightly playing poker eating drinking all day and night. When they would go to their games they'd leave the stuff all over the halls. Very rude would barely move for me to get thru. The front desk told them to move but they occupied the entire hallway till Monday morning. Screaming started at 7 am ended at 11pm for kids but parents stayed up past 2. No reinforcement at all. We had a gathering in the lobby after a game said we had to be out of there at 10. Someone said ok if you vacate the 2nd floor hallway. Never happened They gave us to 11 because it was almost 10 when we got back. It was a team members birthday. The other team occupied the lobby every night for dinner time. Basically they took over the entire hotel. The people were were inconsiderate. I have kids so I get that but the parents need to watch their children and teach them respect of others in a hotel Not the hotels fault but did nothing about the complaints from other guest but our room was the center of the chaos. Sat no housekeeping was done. I went down and they told me all the maids said at 10 am it was all so not disturb. No one knocked on my door. Prob because they couldn't get down the hallway. But that wasn't true because the other floors weren't cleaned either. I asked for towels and trash bags he gave them to me if I would bring my dirty towels down to front desk and empty trash in the one closet. Totally not acceptable. The next day I made sure to get housekeeping I had the extra towels in the room and they took them out said I was only allowed 3 towels in the room. We have 4 people. Again not acceptable The room was very dated and issues with the windows leaking and getting the sill wet making it cold in the room. The toilet was a disgrace. The ground on the floor filthy. The wall paper above shower was put together with hot glue. Very limited parked due to 2 large dumpsters and building materials taking up most of the small lot. You couldn't move your car because you would never get a spot. They said we could part on the street but there was a hockey tournaments all day. No spots. Again not acceptable. I complained at the front desk and the lady was very rude and said well why do u think we are renovating. The room was $141 with tax. Totally not worth it. Way over priced for a below standard total. The pool room was very hot and water very green. The breakfast was basic nothing great. I would never spend money on that place again. Renovations are long overdue but I think some personnel retraining or rehiring is needed as well. Totally disappointed for out 3 nights stay there. I would rather stay at a nicer hotel further away and drive to the tournaments. Maybe next year if the renovations are completed it might be better. I don't like to do do bad reviews however it was not worth the $$$$$$. Hope you have better luck than we did.

« Excellent Hotel Friendly Staff »

Stayed here with my wife Jan 20th, 2018 (Room 122). Came to Jamestown to experience the Desilu Museum. Hotel is 2 small blocks away from the museum (4 minute walk). Our room was very clean as is the rest of the hotel. Bed very comfortable, and the room was nice and quiet. Excellent restaurant with great food across the road from the hotel. The complimentary breakfast had a wide variety of choices both hot and cold and plentiful. The only draw back for some people may be that the gym is small with only 2 machines. I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to spend the night in Jamestown.

    4
    « Nice Hotel. »

The room(s) were very clean. Everything was easy to find. Lobby had that swimming pool smell (not bad, just a mild chlorine), which would be hard to eliminate because the lobby is right next to the pool. I would definitely stay again.

    5
« BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD »

We loved everything about our stay ... Samantha was so helpful! Our room was so nice and clean. The pool was a little cold but very nice. We are definitly gonna stay again and would recomend this hotel to all our freinds ...

    « Unsatisfied »

The bed sheets were old and had clear visible stains from prior guests. The toilet looked like it was never cleaned and the shower curtain had the same issues as the duvet. The breakfast employee was rude and borderline argumentive. My girlfriend used the waffle maker and when the machine started to beep (only for a few seconds) she runs out yelling at her to flip it. It wasn't a pleasant experience and we promptly left. Wasn't a fan, stick with Hilton's or Marriott's, you'll be better off.

    « Anniversary Get Away »

Very Nice one night stay for our tenth anniversary. We had a king whirlpool room, clean and neat with a comfortable bed. Being the special occasion it was for us, and that the hotel was not very busy, I would have liked to had a little "special treatment" from the staff but no complaints really. Would definitely stay again.

    3
    « Standard »

Pretty standard hotel of this age. Old cigarette smell, okay beds, etc. Wasn't really worth what we paid but I'm getting pretty used to it in all honesty. If you're not expecting something new or great I'd say give it a try.

    « Great family weekend »

We came to Jamestown for a family gathering. We were pleasantly surprised that there was an indoor pool. It was cold (24 degrees and snow outside). We had a great visit and the kids were so happy. Breakfast was delicious and we were close to food, takeout and taxi. A fun weekend.

    1
    « Really disappointed »

The room had a musty odor, the toilet leaked, the jacuzzi wasn't properly cleaned, and there were no pool towels. The young man checking us in was very nice. The outside looked clean but our room was not so great.

    4
« Quick trip to Jamestown for a family get together. »

Over all we had a good stay. The very few things I would have changed is, I would have liked a choice in the location of my room. They booked our room very close to the elevator. You know that means you will hear more noise at night. The other thing is instant coffee for the continental breakfast, I do not like one bit. That part I wish they'd change.

    3
« great service, the rooms could use a little updating »

the staff is wonderful, and very helpful. the room was okay, the tiles were cracked on the Jacuzzi and the wall paper in the bathroom was poorly patched. there was an odd smell in the room. the desk clerk was helpful in making the room smell better. the pool was very cold, it was explained that the person that takes care of the pool could not be there until the Monday after we stayed. this was my daughters sweet 16 party the girls had fun and enjoyed themselves even though it was very cold. overall it was a good experience.

    « clean comfortable stay »

helpful, pleasant staff, clean rooms and facilities, walking distance to some great restaurant & entertainment. Parking is slightly difficult. Downtown location. Would recommend over many other places in area.

    5
    « Awesome »

What an awesome hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Awesome restaurant within walking distance, great atmosphere, awesome food and spirits! Great nights sleep! Very good, warm breakfast. Always a smiling face greeting you at the front desk.

« Best Western Plus Downtown Jamestown, N.Y. »

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this Best Western with close walking distance to restaurants. The King Size room was large and nice décor. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel in the future.

    2
« Overall, the location of the hotel was awesome. The condition of the room made me ready to leave ASAP »

What I liked: The staff was very friendly and the lobby was nice and homey. We attended a concert that was held at the Jamestown Savings Ice Arena which was right across the street so it was really nice not to have to worry about parking or anything like that. What I didn't like:As soon as we walked into our room there was this very strong/unknown odor that was not pleasant to the nose at all. The overall appearance of the room looked kind of shoddy. The shower in the bathroom had mold all along the bottom of the door. The tile on the sink had been repaired with white grout while the rest of the sink had black grout. The wall paper over the window was badly peeling. The sad part of it is that this is the condition a suite. If this is the condition they keep their suites in, I'd hate to see regular priced rooms.

    « Good experience »

1 night stay - initially concerned when we were placed right across from the elevator, but noise was not a problem. Staff is friendly & helpful, especially the breakfast attendant. What you would expect from a Best Western.

    5
    « Very nice property »

My wife and I stayed at this property and found it to be a shining example of great customer service, as well as being a very clean and inviting atmosphere. Our room was spacious and well maintained. The furnishings were modern and in great condition. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and could easily compete with restaurant quality. Great place to stay.

    3
    « Room smelled funny »

The guy at check in was very nice and polite. Was told pool was open until 11 but when we got there it was locked and that was very disappointing to us. The breakfast was great and the attendant helpful with tourist info. There is very limited parking at this hotel so get there early or you will have to park on the street which is metered. This hotel is walkable to the Lucy Museum and that was nice.

    5
    « Pleasant -Friendly Staff »

Nice hotel, great staff- would stay again. Our room was right on the street though-(not a plus) Also- be forewarned that the pool is right when you enter the hotel and is VERY heavily chlorinated. Would also like to recommend Shawbucks for some great food-right across the street :)

    3
    « Comfortable Stay »

We booked here for a quick overnight stay. Check in was easy, room was clean and the shower had great water pressure. They even served breakfast in the morning which was good/average. The parking lot was full by 10P, so we had to park on the street. We were satisfied with our visit. However, the bedding was very little/thin.

    3
    « Average »

Hard to find downtown. Need better signs. Not quite up to Best Western's standards. Room door didn't close easily. Lobby smelled of chorine from the pool. Otherwise room was clean and comfortable. Might stay there again because convenient.

    3
    « Average but adequate »

Hard to see the sign while watching for the street signs. Drove past once. Clean and comfortable but not much beyond average. Located near our activities the next day. Lobby smelled strongly of chlorine from the swimming pool. Off putting.

    3
    « Nice place »

Stayed here for one night while visiting Jamestown for a weekend getaway. Nice hotel, nothing fancy but nothing wrong with it either. Great value and the experience is what I would expect for what I paid. Would stay here again

    5
    « Great experiance »

The hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely courteous and help full. It is close to most activities in the town. My wife and I went to Jamestown for the Lucille Ball museum. The hotel is only is only two blocks away from the museum and close to local shops and restaurants. So we could walk to wherever we needed to go.

    5
    « Enjoyed our stay »

We were quite pleased with the location and amenities at this Best Western. After a long day of driving were able to park the car and walk to a restaurant. Lucille Ball museum within walking distance. Room was clean, AC worked well (temp was in the 90s!). We would stay here again.

    « Great Experience »

I had an enjoyable stay and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to any business traveler. The staff was very attentive and the location is excellent. Will definitely stay again for next trip into the area. Good value.

« Guest from Ottawa Canada. »

Stayed one night. Everything was the way I'd expect it to be for a Best Western Plus. Rooms had all the amenities as advertised. There were lots of ac plugs for charging electronic equipment, and for powering my CPAP machine.

« Best Western always makes us feel at home »

The last time my wife and I traveled from Chicago to Cooperstown, New York, we made the 900-mile trip non-stop. We were younger then and more foolish. This time, we stopped overnight in Jamestown, New York, off I-86, and wondered why we ever thought about doing otherwise. Best Western is our favorite resting place whenever we make long road trips. We've come to rely on Best Western for comfortable and clean rooms, friendly service, amenities, reliable air conditioning, hot breakfast and easy access to restaurants, shopping and other attractions. The 61-room Best Western Plus Downtown Jamestown at 200 West 3rd Street earned all the checkmarks. We even had time to visit the nostalgic Lucy Desi Museum a few minutes away. And the free continental breakfast of eggs, pastries, fruits and juice was a good way to start the second day of our drive to Cooperstown.

    « VERY GOOD SPOT »

called on short notice as we where on a motorcycle trip , the young man on desk was excellent , very accommodating . he recommended a place for dinner which was great , i highly recommend this spot for anyone in the jamestown area

« Disappointed in BW ! Not what we are used to. »

We first cancelled another hotel already reserved to got to BW specifically to be able to use the pool. The staff were very professional and friendly. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. the only complaint about the room we found the AC noisy. The pool was extremely dirty and water was cold (supposedly heated pool). We were very disappointed and never got to use the pool. The fitness area needs updating only 2 machines. For breakfast the eggs were not very good and should have more variety of pastries. The waffles were very good. We got there on Sunday and nothing was open. we had to go to the nearest town for dinner, all restaurants were closed. We hadn't travelled with BW for awhile and we found that BW went down the scale overall from previous experiences. We were very disappointed.

    4
« Clean and well run hotel »

We liked this hotel. We hadn't planned in advance to stay at this hotel, but were referred here from another hotel nearer the highway which was sold out. The beds were comfy, the rooms and hotel were well maintained, and the staff was engaging and professional. There are many dining options in the area.

    5
    « Super hotel »

Do stay at the Best Western Plus when you're in Jamestown. The amenities, cleanliness, and rates are great and the customer service is terrific. It's close to cultural venues and shopping plus there are many great places to dine.

    4
    « Nice hotel overall »

This hotel overall, was quite nice. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was very good. I would suggest they definitely update their exercise equipment and have some fans on in the fitness rooms. It was very stuffy and the equipment was outdated and not working properly. Other than that, I would recommend staying here. Very reasonable price as well!

  • 5
    « Excellent »

Excellent experience. Close to all attractions within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was super clean and everything worked. I would recommend this hotel in Jamestown to anyone looking for a place to spend the night and expect quality.

« Average hotel begging for a renaissance »

We stayed here during the Lucy Comedy Fest. First of all, THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL AND KIND. So major to kudos to everyone from the front desk staff to housekeeping. This is a very average motel that is in need of an update. According to staff, they are in the early stages of a renovations, so check on construction. Most of the rooms smell moldy. We switched to a less moldy room, but they are aware of the complaint as they gave everyone in our party air freshener for their rooms. Note: Other than the smell, our room was spotless. With the new Comedy Center opening in 2018, they are going to have to step up their game. It will bring more attention to the city. They have a great staff who deserves a great facility.

    5
« A special place with an even better staff!!! »

Each year we make it to Jamestown and I always book months in advance so we can stay st the Best Western. The staff is fantastic. Always asking if you need anything and hoe they can make your stay better

    5
    « Class Reunion Trip »

From the moment you walk into the hotel till the moment you leave, you are greeted with a very clean property, a friendly & helpful staff. The rooms were nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only issues were some of the other guests. I found them rude and intruding however the staff handled each and everyone of them like a pro. From the front desk, to the maid service to the ladies and gentlemen who helped during breakfast, they were all so amazing. These are the kind of people you want representing your hotel. We plan on staying here again in the future & will gladly refer people to your property. Good Job Guys.

    5
    « Great Deal »

Clean rooms. Great staff. Terrific breakfast . Fantastic location, You can walk to everything: shops, cafes, including the Lucy Desi museum and all the comedy shows. Highly recommended for anyone staying in Jamestown.

    4
    « Friendly »

The staff made us feel so welcome with their friendly, caring manner. We were offered suggestions about things to do and see by many different staff members. The hotel is located about 2 blocks from the Lucy/Desi museum (which is superb), and directly across the street from a very good restaurant (Press Room). The breakfast food is good especially the Belgian waffles!

    5
    « You won't be disappointed »

Second time staying here. Service is good, rooms clean and friendly staff. Close to Lucy Desi Museum, Panama Rocks Scenic Park and Audabon Society which are worth visits. Value is what you expect from BW. Try to time your trip the end of July, beginning of August to hit the week long Lucy Festival. It is a big to do here with this being her hometown. Big name comedy acts play right across the street that week as an homage to Lucy.

    2
    « Disappointing »

We didn't want to stay at a $50 a night motel, we thought that by spending some more money we would have a nicer experience. The room smells of mold as soon as you walk in. There is mold visible on the sheer curtains and on the tub apron. Also the nightstand next to our bed was sticky with the rings from glasses of soda or coffee that spilled and it was never cleaned up. Housekeeping is in the room every day, how can they not notice this? This means They just don't care. I also don't like booking a hotel through a third-party app. But the hotels walk in rate was $40 more than I could get on TripAdvisor. And the very nice man at the front desk couldn't do anything about it. So I booked the hotel room from the app while I was standing in front of him.

    4
    « small getaway »

For the money, this is a great place to stay. Centrally located for our purpose, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the pool was clean, and the breakfast was actually above average for this type of accommodation. My only complaint would be that the bathroom had an awkward setup (toilet in front of the sink) and the exercise room was tiny with no bicycle.

    3
« Okay, but not Great »

Successful stay however, we would not stay again with other choices available. The beds were so tall even my husband thought they were crazy tall making it hard for a shorter person to get in and out of. Breakfast was a fair selection but seating was a problem and availability of all items was not kept up on. Breakfast might end a few minutes early so they can be really done by the posted time. Only 1 elevator shared with maid staff who do not give guests first priority. Room not outfitted for number of people reserved for. Decent otherwise. Great location if you want to go see Lucy/Desi museum.

  • 4
« Everything was fine except for pool »

I choose this location over other less expensive (but nice) hotels because of the pool, which we didn't get to use as the water was green. Because there wasn't really anything could do to change the situation within my short stay I just chalked it up to lesson learned.

    4
    « Ok »

My family and I stayed here to be close to downtown. The only issue we had was the lack of nearby guest parking. The stay was ok pool area needs an update. Rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful.

« Best Western Jamestown, NY »

Nice Best Western. Had everything we needed. Renovations/repairs going on. Other than that, area was nice and close to many things to do/see/eat. Be sure to visit the Lucy Desi Museum. Also, the ice arena across the street had a great summer skating deal. Great stay!

    5
    « Very Nice »

Great greeting staff. Room is comfy. Everything worked. Jamestown Best Western is not near the Interstate, a few miles into town, therefore no traffic noise from semis etc. restaurants and sightseeing is easy walking distance from hotel.

    3
    « Adequate....room was nice »

Nothing special about this hotel Just stayed one night. Pool was down for maintenance and electricity went out at breakfast. Tim Norton's had a much better breakfast anyhow. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful. Our room was nicely appointed, but there was nothing special or terrific about this place. Needed a room in a pinch and they did give us a AAA discount. Restaurant across the street, Shawbucks, was very nice.

    5
    « Convenient location & great staff »

Great environment. Friendly staff. Rooms are always clean. Pricing is always reasonable. My first choice for a comfortable and safe environment whenever I travel. Looking forward to my next stays in the future.

    5
« Stop off on way to Niagara Falls »

This Motel is right in downtown. It has no business center so no computer for that day. The room was nice and large and bathroom was big. A nice fridge but no MW. Breakfast was great. Lots of assorted toppings for the waffles. Bacon& eggs and fruit salad, etc Not much seating so get there early . A lot of noise at 3am which doesn't help.

« Return Visit with Improvements »

I had stayed at the Best Western Plus Downtown Jamestown for a night while on business The hotel has pretty limited parking, and if you get in late and the hotel is busy, you may have to park on the street or nearby. The hotel was in the process of remodeling when I stayed, and the lobby, breakfast and pool area have all been modernized, The pool now has privacy screens so you can swim without being seem in the lobby, Staff was friendly and check in was fast. I had stayed on the first floor room facing the street, The room wasn't very private as foot traffic walking by can look in, but shades prevent that. Wifi in the hotel has gotten faster since my last stay which is good. The television was a flat screen and had plenty of channels. Beds are comfortable and the hotel was quiet, so I slept well. The showers had great pressure and hot water which was great. Breakfast was very good with many options. There are several eating options within walking distance which is a plus. Would stay again when in Jamestown.

    2
    « Best Western Jamestown - »

pool was dirty. They seem to think that the only maintenance is to dump chlorine in it. They need to learn how to clean it. Only hotel/motel I have ever stayed at that they don't take the dirty towels and give you clean towels. Strange place.

    5
« Great value and service »

The rooms were clean and everything looked great. All the staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. We had a very nice breakfast with a great selection that tasted great. Overall it was a great stay. The parking is a little hard but only because of the way the lot is styled but still not bad.

« Friendly staff, clean hotel, good location »

I arrived late and the girl at the desk was very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean, the bed amazing and the hotel was nice and quiet. Very affordable. Would definitely recommend if you need a hotel in the Jamestown area.

    4
    « Great location »

Great location in the heart of Jamestown. We stayed here for the Lucille Ball Festival and were very happy we chose this hotel. Rooms were spacious, clean and attractive. Breakfast was included. The best thing was how close it was to all the attractions. We didn't need a car or even a bus as everything was within walking distance. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

I had avoided staying at Best Westerns because of some bad experiences several years ago, however, this one has changed my mind. The room was nice with good amenities. However, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel.

    « OK for overnight »

Stayed here with my 86-year old mother who uses a walker for balance and has low vision. Hotel does not offer handicapped accessible rooms with more than one bed, so we had to settle for a two queen non handicapped accessible. Had to call the hotel to find out how to get there as a street festival had all the streets shut down (a little sandwich board sign at the corner of LaFayette and 4th letting people know they could pass the street closed barricades to access the hotel would have been a big help), Front desk staff that checked us in was very friendly and pretty efficient. Hotel is in the process of being remodeled, and our room had already been updated. One of the updates is freakishly high beds which were OK for me, but impossible for my mother. Hotel Staff came to the rescue dropping off two boxes we could stack for my mom to step on to get up into bed. At recommendation of the staff, walked to Shawbucks for a most excellent dinner, and there were a lot of other stores and restaurants in easy walking distance. The doors to the rooms are not adequately sound proofed, and I was bothered by the conversations of other guests in the hall. Room was clean....bedding was new and nice. View was of the parking lot and the back of the building on 4th. Breakfast was the usual cold selections and a few hot options. Staff was very responsive to us (getting milk out since there was no milk, and showing us where napkins are (they are not with plates and silverware, they are in little holders on one of the tables)). Art in the dining area is a bit off putting: a close up photo of the trunk of an elephant....really really close up. But the tables were clean and there was plenty of seating. Overall, it was a good option for an overnight stay.

« We came for Lucy »

Like many people who find themselves in Jamestown, we came to see the Lucille Ball attractions- the museum, her final resting place, the Lucy statues in a nearby park, the local murals, and Lucy's childhood home. This Best Western was so convenient to the Lucy museum, we walked over there. It's about a block and a half straight down the street. There are some questionable areas not far from the hotel, but the hotel itself and the walk to the museum were just fine. The hotel is currently under construction, but I didn't experience any noise while there. Pool was closed during our stay and there is no business center but the staff do try to accommodate needs such as printing, etc. We didn't try the breakfast that the hotel provided, we found some great local restaurants instead. The hotel had eggs and sausage and such, the selection looked adequate. The beds were not very comfortable and they are quite high. I practically had to jump to get on the bed. Both rooms had a microwave and mini fridge which was convenient. The maid we met was a very nice, friendly woman who seemed to enjoy talking to various guests, even the kids. The front desk staff were also nice and helpful.

    « weekend get away »

We stayed at this hotel May 19-22nd, 2017. We had an enjoyable stay. Liked that breakfast was included. Good places to eat in close proximity to the hotel. Close to the Lucille Ball Museum. Enjoyed the pool even though it was a bit green.. Maybe needs more experienced staff looking after it. Upon checking in there was drama in the hotel lobby... Wanted to say Good Job George!! you did an awesome job handling rude, obnoxious people. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. :)

    « Good experience »

My family and I (sister, brother and sister in law) visited Jamestown for the Lucy museum. We had a wonderful time..hotel staff..friendly, and helpful. I would recommend the hotel based on service, location and extras (grab and go) bags

    « Clean the pool »

George the front desk person did a fine job with the not so nice man checking in. It seems that he man did not like to wait for his room to be cleaned and made it very well know to everyone. The only other thing is the pool needs more attention as it was green when I was there.

    « Great downtown stay »

This motel appears to have just been renovated, and if it hasn't, it has been so well kept. The welcome was friendly and helpful and the room was excellent. It was large and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Seemed to be a limited number of TV channels and the air con was pretty noisy but there was no outside noise at all. Didn't try the pool, but it looked good. Breakfast was probably the best we have seen with a huge selection and a very friendly and helpful attendant. Wifi was fast and free. Stop here when in the area.

    « Disappointed »

I stayed at Best Western in Jamestown NY on 3/11/17. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My complaints have to do with the condition of my room. I expressed my concerns to front desk at check-out. They were very busy over the weekend and I was in town for a social event and had no time to let them rectify the room situation on Sat. The peep-hole on my door was just that, a hole that I could put my finger through. I stuffed it with a tissue as someone on the outside of the door could look right in to the room. The light over the sink wasn't working, I was doing hair and makeup with the overhead fan/light which didn't give any illumination to the mirror. The toilet seat was loose and shifted back and forth. The carpet had numerous stains and the room generally had a worn look about it. It was the room that has a hot tub. Now I would think that housekeeping would have noticed these things and requested repairs. I know Best Western is the only act in downtown Jamestown and I am questioning whether they are cutting corners because they can, people will stay there anyway as it is so convenient to the arena. I have stayed there many times over the years without complaint. One more thing, which I think could be a real liability issue. The lobby is tiled, it was sloppy and wet outside and all of this was tracked into the lobby. Instead of having protective matting to absorb the slush, they had the desk person mopping the floor which still left it wet and slippery and I had to be very careful not to fall. I think the owner of this Best Western might need to take a closer look at the condition of his hotel.

    « Will try again »

I didn't actually end up staying here. I did reserve here. I called Thursday and asked if they had an indoor pool. The woman that answered said yes. I called and booked a room on Friday through my vacation club for Saturday to Sunday. I went to check in around 4 and Greg was at the desk. We asked about the pool because we noticed it was closed. He said it was closed due to a heating issue but we could swim at Hampton inn. I asked about possibly staying at Hampton Inn and he said no it wasn't possible without calling where I booked through to cancel and then I would have to go to Hampton and pay their price. My price I had used would not be honored. I asked to speak with the owner he said no he doesn't talk to customers. I asked to speak with a manager he also said no because the manager doesn't speak to guests unless she is there. My reason for not wanting to stay and go swim at Hampton is that it is 10 degrees outside so we would be wet leaving in the freezing cold to go into another hotel. Just was not accommodating. Finally Greg called the manager after me demanding it and not leaving until I spoke with her. He dialed her number went to hand me the phone. I said I'm a stranger do you want to let her know what's going on. He did but after saying that I had been demanding to speak with her for 4 min. Which he was right I just thought her employee should explain it and introduce me. I spoke with Melissa. She was amazing! She was kind, sweet and had amazing customer service. I explained my issue and what I wanted for it to be resolved. While speaking with her Greg the front desk employee was yelling in the background contradicting what I was telling her and interrupting me. Very rude and uncalled for. Melissa was able to make A call and in 10 min I was staying the Hampton inn. Sort of a sister place to the Best Western as it has the same owner. While speaking to Melissa I addressed a few concerns: 1: the pool and that I called about it and the person I spoke with didn't say it was not working 2: Gregs bad customer service 3: Gregs I can't do attitude She addressed all of the above. When the call ended Greg was having a full conversation with my husband and I about vacationing and timeshares a complete 180 from the beginning. That shows me something was said about his customer service. It also shows he is coachable and he learned from his mistakes. Because of this I would reserve here again when the pool is up and working and give it a second shot :) It was clean when walking in so I have no doubt the room would have been nice and clean.

« Front Desk - Rude and Unprofessional »

Our stay was going fine till the morning of check out- I stopped at the front desk to find out what time was late check out. ( they had told other people in our party 1pm) so I asked and was told 12 noon, fine they were trying to get housekeeping some rooms to work on. At 11:15 We were in our room when we got a call on the hotel phone from the same person (Kristi) saying can we be out now I said no we are just started backing she then threatens us with a late fee. At 11:50 we are completely out of the room and checking out they charge us a $25 late fee for me saying we would be out by noon. Kristi & Jesse were rude and unprofessional. I will never stay at Best western in Jamestown or any other Best Western Again- Ever!

« Good stay in Jamestown »

This hotel appears to have been recently renovated. We found it to be clean, the bed was comfortable and the internet worked well. Breakfast was pretty typical for BW. Seating is a bit limited though, so it's probably better to go early before the crowd arrives. The fitness room is small, there is only a treadmill and a cross-country ski machine and the treadmill wasn't working. The hotel is very convenient to the Lucy-Desi museum.

    5
    « Weekend trip »

The overall stay was great. One exception, LOW toilets. Paper could be be of higher quality. Room should be 70 degrees on arrival. USA Today could be at your door in the morning. Express checkout was great.

« Clean and Close to Southern Tier Brewing Company »

We were looking to get as close to Southern Tier Brewing Company but insist on a clean room. Our first choice had no vacancies, so this was our second option. Fresh smelling hallways, clean bedding, and working HVAC trumped the closed pool, 3rd Street traffic noise, average breakfast, and shower head (Room 214) that was nearing the end of its useful life. Free parking with easy access to 3rd Street and a straight 1.1 mile shot to Harding Avenue which turns into Hunt Road and places one at Southern Tier Brewing Company in another 4.3 miles. Brick City Market Deli was an easy one block walk which I'll review separately.

    « Needs a few tweeks. »

Convenient location for downtown events (Lucy Museum, Robert H. Jackson institute, etc). Our room had jacuzzi which seemed clean and worked well. Enormous room with uncomfy couches and chairs. Very nice bed, however. Lobby, breakfast room, and hallways seemed shabby and in need of deep cleaning or upgrade. Breakfast was substandard. Scary eggs and sausages, bad white breads, sketchy cereal, the ubiquitous wafflemaker, no skim milk avail, very little fresh fruit. IT looked like a breakfast line from 1978. Hard to screw this up, but they did. In addition tile floor and ceiling with metal chairs made it a loud and uncomfortable experience. Customers brought down thei ipad blaring local news from their hometown and left it on a table for 20 minutes while thay made each other 17 waffles. Staff should have asked them to turn it down. Also homeless young man was given refuge in the lobby to charge his phone and take off his wet sneakers. Nice of them to offer him some help, but made us slightly uncomfortable. Staffing is inconsistent.

    « A nice surprise »

I don't have much positive experiences with Best Western, but this one in Jamestown gave us a really nice surprise. We booked the larger room (with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed) and it was roomy. The staff was welcoming (we arrived late at night and he didn't show any sign of tiring). The breakfast was very good (by the hotel standard) and you get hot items (sausages, egg, etc.). Overall the hotel is clean.

    4
« GREAT LOCATION AND PRICE »

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel had the perfect location for the I love lucy studios and museum. The room was comfortable and there were all the standard amenities. The only mishap was that the coffee machine was dirty inside, but we call the front desk for a new one and we were given another one. So I was happy. Room was also comfortable. I would stay here again if I am in Jamestown again.

« Weekend family get away »

We have gone to many different states and stayed at alot of different motels. I am the type of person that will carry my own bug spray and Lysol wipes; however with this motel neither were needed!! From the time I booked through a 2nd party and called actual motel just to confirm that our room was booked. Greg made sure that we would have a room even being at that point our booking didn't show up. When booking actual showed on motels system Greg called me to let me know. Way above what anyone else has done. The motel was fantastic!! Clean, modern, and very comfortable beds. Pool was a little chilly but not a big issue. Breakfast was wonderful as well. We will be returning and let other family members know what a great spot for a small get away. One more thing when we checked in Greg was the one that actually did it and let me know he was the one that I spoke to. Impressive remembering someone Greg. Job well done

    « Very Average Hotel »

Older hotel in Jamestown. Rooms were a little worn, but not necessarily dirty. The location was convenient being downtown, although there are limited things to do downtown. Breakfast was ok, but included in the cost of the room.

« Small hotel but great stay »

This is our third time in this hotel. We are very pleased with the staff and amenities.Easy check in process and staff was very helpful in answering questions we had. It's always nice when a hotel offers a free breakfast and this one has a lot of choices. Especially loved the toppings for the make it yourself waffles. The lobby and breakfast area is stocked frequently and very clean.

    « Making Flying Easier »

We stayed here prior to our early flight to our honeymoon. We booked through priceline which I have come to find was a mistake. They told us we could park our car at the hotel while we are away for free, which was incorrect information. We then had to pay 140$ to park it across the street for the week. As grad students this added expense hurt!! The room was small but served its purpose. It was clean and the staff was nice. Breakfast was provided. Also Priceline told us the shuttle was every half hour. Again, wrong information. It's every hour on the half hour. So rather than taking the free shuttle we had to pay for a shuttle to the airport. Only 20$ but again an added expense.

    4
    « Business Trip »

Check in was easy. I had bought my room on Priceline at a very good price. Room was very nice, large and clean...had a fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot and good. Check out was easy. Hotel is downtown.

    « Nice place! »

We had a nice experience. The staff was great, the rooms were clean and inviting. We did not have reservations but the lady at the front desk was able to accommodate us with a room before check in. We really appreciated that because we were traveling via motorcycle and had been in rain. She told us of some things to do, great places to eat and how to get there. Would definitely go back again!

    « Terrible Experience »

Keys would not work for assigned room. Went downstairs 3 times to get new ones and as trying to open the door an elderly opens it. They were giving us a room that was assigned to someone already. Then they put us in a room that didn't even have the size or amount of beds I paid for.

« Great Location, Excellent Value »

Jamestown's BEST place to stay "Best Western"! In walking distance to restaurants and attractions, even a short stay is relaxing and inviting. Not Vegas, but just right if you are looking for an inviting place to stay. Fantastic friendly staff !

« an okay place to sleep »

We arrived late and there was a mix up regarding the reservations plus a family member decided to book an additional room at the last minute. Considering the commotion of so many people making demands on the front desk staff all at once I think they performed well. The rooms were clean a quiet for our overnight stay. Breakfast was provided in the morning as well.

« Best choice in town »

The Best Western Plus is the best place to stay while in Jamestown, New York. The staff is one of the best I've ever interacted with, and the amenities - especially the free breakfast - are super. The hotel is customer focus and a model to others in the business.

« Nice Place in a Ghost Town »

The exterior of the hotel was unimpressive, as was the lobby. However, the clerk on duty was friendly, efficient, and extremely helpful. Nothing was open downtown and he made multiple phone calls to find us a restaurant that was open. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable. We only found out that the pool was closed upon arrival, a huge disappointment after a long day driving.

    5
    « Clean & great location »

Service was fast and friendly. All areas were clean and updated lobby makes a big difference! Downtown location a plus. All encounters with the staff were friendly and professional. I stay there on all my business travels in the area. Parking is limited but there is another lot right across the street.

« Best Western, Downtown Jamestown, New York »

Central location to the downtown area and local Lake Chautauqua communities including the Lucy/Desi museum. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. The breakfast was very good and items that were available changed each days so you didn't have to have the same old things everyday. The dining area was sufficient and kept very clean by the staff assigned to the breakfast area.

« Excellent find on a holiday weekend »

Found ourselves without a room on a holiday weekend, and happened to connect with this Best Western. We were treated so nicely, and made to feel very welcome. Just happened to have a room for us. Very nice room, nicely kept hotel grounds, clean, neat, pleasant people. Noticed a number of families having a great time in the pool. Good breakfast, hot food, not the continental breakfast that so many places serve. Were guided across the street for an excellent meal at a place within walking distance. Could not believe how reasonalbe the motel price was. Would recommend for anyone traveling this area.

« nice clean hotel - great staff »

A little pricey for the area but staff made up for it.. alarm clock went off at 5 a.m. ... very disturbing -- couldn't cleaning staff check this when in the room. ??? It would take only 10 seconds -- we couldn't figure out how to shut it off. Close to some good restaurants in downtown Jamestown.

« Comfortable stay in James Town New York »

Our stay at the Best Western Plus, was comfortable for me and my three teenage children. We had breakfast during one morning. Breakfast included: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, french toast, make your own waffles, oatmeal, mini muffins, toast, coffee, orange juice, and cranberry juice. The front desk staff were friendly and willing to answer any guest questions. We used the indoor pool once. The pool was not warm enough, my children used it anyway. I only got in the water up to my waist. I asked a hotel staff at the front desk, if the water temperature could be increased. He told me that he would call maintenance, that he didn't have a key. The hotel is within walking distance to The Lucy-Desi museum. The hotel did not have enough available parking.

« Overnight Stay to Attend Wedding.... »

We were attending a family wedding at the Chautauqua Institute, but did not want to drive back home after the wedding. So I searched for local hotels and this Best Western Plus in downtown Jamestown fit the bill. It was only 30 minutes from the wedding and reasonably priced plus breakfast was available which is something we look for when we travel. There was also an indoor pool which we did not have the opportunity to use. The room was clean, staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was good.

    « HORRIBLE- ants!!! »

We selected the Best Western Plus because of the location. Everything seemed okay until the morning; we discovered tiny ants crawling sporadically in the bathroom! As soon as we saw them we notified the front desk and checked out. We never received an apology or any type of concern when describing the situation. We won't be back!!

    5
    « Very Convenient »

It was very close to the train station, which will be the comedy center in the future. It is like a 3 minute walk and 2 blocks from the Lucy/ Desi Museum. The hotel was very neat and tidy. It would have been nice to see where the front door is located at the back parking lot though.

« The Only Thing That Didn't Suck Was the Staff, and The Pool »

We stayed here for one night recently. I'm so frustrated by this hotel. I've stayed here before and never had the issues I had this time. But the issues this time were so ridiculous I'm not sure I want to bother giving them another chance, the next time I'm in town. First and foremost - the walls are PAPER thin. There may as well have not been ANY walls because it seemed as though our neighbors on one side were sitting right next to us, and the neighbors on the other side had placed their TV under our heads in bed. The neighbors to one side were up until well after 3 AM, running their mouths, laughing and being loud and obnoxious. I would have called down to the desk to ask them to deal with it, but guess what? The phone was so shoddy and the connection was so poor I couldn't hear a thing. I was *this* close to stomping down to the desk in my PJ's, but thankfully I found the earplugs I thought I had stuffed in my suitcase, and that cut the noise to a dull roar. The neighbors on the other side, with the loud TV, they at least turned it off around 11 PM, which, while annoying, is at least acceptable. Trucks and motorcycles going by makes it sound like your windows are wide open. There is no noise barrier here. None. The breakfast choices were sad, waffle mix was blueberry only, which my children promptly vetoed. The eggs were western omelettes that day, and the meat of the day was sausage patties. Again, veto. So my kids had cereal with lukewarm milk, and some toast. The muffins were gone and were not replaced [this was at 8:30 AM, breakfast until 10!], and the fruit was gone before we even came downstairs. The pool was a good size, and the water was comfortably warm -which is more than I can say for some hotels. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and the rooms were clean and neat. But the noise level and poor breakfast were enough of a frustration for me and my family that I suspect we won't be staying here again.

everything was okay except trying to check in and rooms weren't cleaned yet (2:15p.m.) when we called and asked if we would be allowed to check in before going to a wedding reception that started 2hrs. after the wedding. stood around in lobby until staff came with a list (5 rooms) that had been cleaned then the next 5 people in line got there rooms and so on.

« Dont stay if you dont need to »

Many issues at this hotel. Its below average. There is no where else to stay so they don't try to please their guests at all. Most staff do no smile as they interact. The A/C filter was very dirty, there was brown water in the toilet, the windows dont open so you cant get fresh air. The pool is not at the correct levels for chemicals and it burns a little when you swim. Just try to stay elsewhere.

Staff was pleasant and timely and was helpful with find a good place to eat in the area. Close to town for everything. Breakfast wasn't what we are use to getting. Otherwise clean rooms and nice stay.

« No place to park »

We actually had this hotel booked for 3 nights. However, when we arrived there were no parking spaces available. To find this out, we drove all the way around into the end of the lot. There is no turn around, so we had to back our full-size cargo van back out. Then when we finally found a spot on the street and went in to cancel due to no parking... we were told that they have 61 rooms but only 30-some parking spaces. We were welcome to park on the street and in the morning, when patrons started leaving, we would probably be able to find a spot. Seriously? We cancelled and went on to a different hotel, making a note not to stay there on our return business trips.

Short stay and not much time in the hotel but we used the pool and had a nice stay and visit with the folks there. The staff from housekeeping to the management are great and made the experience a wonderful memory! Thanks Folks!

We go to Jamestown for grandson's hockey games. The hotel is just across the street from the rink so very convenient. Also can park in the hotel lot instead of on the street. They have an adequate breakfast. Hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants and pubs. All in all a good value for anyone going for hockey.

This hotel is very clean, the rooms updated & comfortable, and the staff very friendly. While a relatively small hotel, it does have an indoor pool, the breakfast contains many choices and is good, and the hotel is in a great location to walk to restaurants and other attractions. It is a great economic place to stay.
