"A convenient place"

Best Western JFK is great hotel to stay at while awaiting for a departure flight. I've stayed here many times the past 12 or more years. The staff is always pleasing & proficient performing their duties. It has improved over the years. Lately looks like interior renovations have been made throughout. Parking is provided at the hotel for overnighters. Longer stays parking is available at AirPark which Best Western JFK has a contract for guests having extended days away.

The rooms are clean and quite big. The hotel staff was very friendly. The shuttle bus was waiting for us at the airport to get us to the hotel. They also helped us arrange a taxi. The breakfast is okay but nothing special. Price/quality good! We didn't hear the planes in the rooms, which is the most important thing in this kind of airport hotel. Beds were comfortable too.

Proximity to JFK airport with regular shuttle service is a definite plus of this cosy hotel in Jamaica, NY, however, the price is rather high despite very good service and caring staff. To be noted the limit of 9.00 a.m for breakfast.

Stayed here the night before my daughter flew out of JFK. The hotel is basic for the area, no restaraunt/bar, etc. and it is not big, but we stayed for free JFK shuttle access and parking lot. I was very happy with my stay here. The staff is friendly, rooms clean and cute, everything looks newly remodeled. Room was basic but comfy with a King size, comforatble bed. Breakfast dining area very nice...we ate our amazing Indian take-out here for dinner. Free breakfast was REALLY good. Waffles, fresh berries, cereals, eggs and sausage, juices. Free coffee available at all times. The lot was well-lit, and there's a guard present, so I felt safe. Shuttle service comes once an hour and is easy and efficient to use. They let me keep my car there after I checked out to ride with my daughter to airport. They gave us a nice gift bag with cookies, granola bars and water bottles. Will def. stay again if I need to fly JKF. Not cheap, but on par with the area.

I had very bad experience. There was strong odour in the room. I was unable to sleep due to street light coming in the room and curtains were useless. The paid approx USD 230 for one night and expected it to have a luxury hotel. I was shocked to find that its a small budget hotel.

"A life saver"

We had a last minute cancelation on our flight and couldn't catch one until the next day. Our current hotel did not have anything available for less that $575 for an additional day. BW to the rescue!! They had a room and even allowed us to check in at noon since they had an available room. Soooooooo grateful for the favor, to be close to the airport and to have the free shuttle in the morning. My only regret is that we will have to leave before breakfast opens at 5am. You always know what to expect with a BW and this location will not win any awards for surroundings but the room is clean, the bed is comfy and the customer service can't be beat.

I have never been disappointed staying at a Best Western Hotel, they are always clean and very comfortable.The food for breakfast has always been good with variety.Beds were nice and clean and comfy to sleep on.

Priced right, easy to get to/from, transportation available with affordable fee and best of all there is free shuttle to/from airport and a great continental breakfast (the works). Just renovated so all is fresh, there is a self service laundry, and the hotel is safe.

This hotel was a perfect spot to lodge overnight prior to a fairly early flight back home the next morning. The correspondence from the front desk was prompt via email, and I seamlessly made my way from Times Square by bus, catching the AirTrain to Federal circle (as advised by the hotel) and almost immediately caught the free airport shuttle from there to the Best Western. The hotel lacks any luxury, but meets the basic needs of a comfortable bed, an air cooler, TV, coffee machine, basic toiletries, and takeout menus for a variety of nearby eateries. One also has the option of going to the Crowne Plaza, should you feel too cooped up inside your room. The room comes with a complimentary breakfast comprising a large selection of hot and cold continental treats, including a waffle maker! The free airport shuttle leaves every hour on the half hour, throughout the day, and are prompt; delivering you directly to your desired terminal. Thank you Best Western for an effortless and efficient end to my stay here in NY!

I would have to rate the hotel a 3 let's start out with the good. The hotel bed is very comfortable the room is clean, which is very important to me but the WiFi is horrible I had trouble logging in and staying logged in. When I checked in the young lady was professional but she wanted to multitask meaning checking in and out at the same time a guest deserves to be checked in and out with out having another guest listen, that's just very unprofessional. Parking was very convenient that I did like. I also like I was able to order food. I did not like my key got deactivated and I had to go all the way back to the lobby that was very annoying and I travel a lot so I know not to keep my key next to cell phone and etc.

My stay was super from check in to check out. Room was clean bed very comfortable. My family was very satisfied with the services and professionalism of the staff. Breakfast display was very well done.Breakfast was well prepared. We all enjoyed it to the fullest. My children went back for seconds. (lol)

This was a great hotel to stay at since we were flying out of JFK. The hotel had a free shuttle to the airport. The hotel breakfast was good. The room was nice size and had all the amenities you would expect.

It is most convinient for those in transit, a bit inbetween flights, droping or receiving people. It takes just few minutes to shuttle between terminals, and one central location to pick the suttle back to this establishment.

I booked the hotel just for one night to extend my layover to do some shopping. This hotel is conveniently located less than 10 min from JFK Airport. I got in very early, 5am, and check in was not supposed to be until 3pm. I took the free shuttle to the hotel and prepared for a few hours wait. The staff is extremely friendly and they did everything to accommodate me. They offered me breakfast before the check in and I was able to get in the room by 9am. Special thanks to Bebe. The hotel is comfortable, room size is adequate and it's very clean. I had nothing to complain about and would definitely stay there again if stopping in New York.

It's an airport hotel inconvenient to the airport ... although there are no alternatives that are more convenient. The shuttle runs every half hour, which is too bad given that it's only a 5 minute ride. And "from the airport" means you take the airport tram to the parking lot; the tram can be a significant walk from the terminal you land at. None of this is the hotel's fault, except the infrequency of the shuttle bus. My room was clean and small. The bed was comfortable. The free wifi was good. There was a coffee maker. All that's good. The little bathroom was minimal and fine, but unnecessarily cheap: the bath towels were too small to wrap around me, and I'm not particularly large. The view was of a parking lot, but it's not like I wanted to spend a lot of time gazing out the window contemplating the meaning of life. The free breakfast was ok. The highlight: waffle makers. Plan on waiting for the elevator: it's very slow and small, and there's only one of them. I talked with two different people behind the registration desk. The first was friendly and helpful. The second was diffident: no eye contact, minimal answers. If you're going into Manhattan, plan on it taking a little over an hour if you take a cab or Uber, depending on traffic of course. The person behind the desk told me to add an hour if I want to take the subway. A taxi would cost about $75 according to the receptionist. An Uber pool cost $35, and the driver said that there are rarely other people who want to share the ride when going into the city, so that worked out well for me. It's not a terrible hotel by any means. It's a basic airport hotel. It was ok.It would have been better if it hadn't cost $ove $200 to stay there.

We used this hotel when 20+ flights were cancelled out of JFK and we needed a room quickly. It was very easy to and from JFK airport and we were able to use their airport shuttle with no problems. The staff were very friendly. While the breakfast had the standard motel offerings, the tea and coffee were of high quality and there were cut up fresh strawberries, blueberries, and really good everything bagels! The room was clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Our room looked out over a quiet parking lot.

This hotel is typical of airport hotels. It is located about 15 minutes from the airport. It is clean and comfortable for a fast overnight stay for long layover or cancelled flight. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is what you expect. The rooms are small but hey, your just there between flights. They provide a shuttle that runs once an hour. It picks you up at a location that is quite far from the airport. You need to ride the air train to get to the pickup spot. It took us 15 min or so to get there from baggage claim, then we waited anither 25 min for the shuttl, then 10 min to the hotel. Take a cab directly from baggage claim. Its $15 and you will be there in 15 min. The area it and all the airport hotels are located in is strictly industrial. Actually, the garbage truck transfer station is just down the street. Dont expect to go shopping or fine dining. All in all we were comfortable and had a good night stay. Recommended.

The redeeming factor at this hotel is the very nice staff. Outside of that, there is not much. I don't usually write anything but I am because of the difference between the photos on the website and what you actually walk into when you get here. Big difference. The final straw was the fact that our room had a black put shade that was 12” shorter than the window? Why? Anyways, I won't stay here again.

Very convenient to JFK. Arrived on late flight and had early morning connection. Shuttle bus worked well. Had reservation and checkin was fast. Good and extensive hot & cold breakfast. Bed and bathroom were good and comfortable. Good value.

We had a bad experience in immigration so queued for 2+ hours but within 5 minutes we were on the shuttle bus to the hotel. Driver was lovely but bus was a bit grubby. Receptionist was nice but a bit unkempt (it was 3am) so I hold no real grudge. Room and bathroom was neat and clean. We were 3 in a room and we needed an extra towel and were given one with no issues. Front desk were helpful at all times. DO NOT order from China Inn (the food was tasteless). We had complimentary late check out, breakfast had a decent range however was with paper/plastic cutlery and waffles and fruit were nice. Bacon was over cooked though. Overall a good experience for the price. Hotel is next to a motorway and industrial area so there are trucks and cars beeping and the windows are not soundproof! Not good for light sleepers. It took us about 1h30m to get to Manhattan so bear this in mind if you're a tourist,

"Did I stay in a different hotel to all the people giving this place more than two stars?"

Our flight had been cancelled so i thought id get somewhere booked fast before they all filled up. Reading the reviews The Best Western look fine in the pictures and was about the same price as the Hilton etc and pretty close with a free shuttle bus. The shuttle bus was grubby but i guess its only a bus. I knew id made a mistake as soon as i walked through the door to the lobby, it needs some serious updating. The Receptionist was pleasant and check it was quick. I was on the 4th floor, the smell from the corridor was disgusting and over powering, the décor was horrible. The room was pleasantly nice and clean looking. The tv didn't work straight away so i called down and no one turned up so i played about with it and got it working. I tried to order out but the codes weren't working on the phone and calling down but no one answered, although they so i had to go down, three times. My nights sleep, well i itched all night, it was either too hot or too noisy from the air con or other people banging around whistling down the corridors at 12.45, it was just a bad night. In the morning, the bathroom was clean, the shower was not very powerful. The corridor smelt even worse in the morning!! i literally held my breath till the elevator got there. I didn't have breakfast as i wanted to get out as soon as i could. Check out was quick and the receptionist was pleasant. Free shuttle bus which was fine. I would only expect to pay £60 for a room like this but i guess they know they are close to the airport. All the other people stayed at the Hilton, lucky for some.

"Great last minute service experience"

We traveled into NY on a 4 hour flight and were delayed on the tarmac until almost 2am. We contacted the Best Western JFK's front office by dialling 44 the JFK information phone (no cost). 'Kim' answered cheerfully and confirmed rooms were available and the rate she gave was the best of all the hotels we could call. I called back about 2 minutes later to confirm we would be checking in and queried whether shuttle service was available. She confirmed the driver had started to leave the airport but she would ask him to pick us up. We called to confirm when we arrived at Federal Circle. Kim assured us the driver would be there. Being new to the area, we were heading in the wrong direction, then we saw the driver approaching and he confirmed he was here to pick us up. He assisted us with our bags and took us on the short ride to the hotel. Shuttles leave the hotel every 1/2 hr 24 hrs a day. Kimone greeted us warmly, checked us in and invited us to join the Best Western programme. She also assisted us with getting meals delivered. She was professional, made great recommendations and overall provided us with excellent client care - beyond customer service. She sold this property as if it was her own. The guest room were good according to NY room size standards, clean and neatly laid out. We requested toothbrushes and also received toothpaste and a shower cap. A hot breakfast is included in the price and offers options for cereal, sausages, eggs, bagels etc. This experience will definitely cause Best Western to now be among my choice of properties.

The hotel is older, but the quality of the staff is excellent! It is conveniently located near the JFK airport and the shuttle driver was very friendly and helpful. I've stayed here before, and I'm sure I will again when I need a hotel room by the airport.

We were warmly welcomed by Kim on Reception when we checked in. She patiently explained to us how to return our rental car to Federal Circle, catch the hotel shuttle bus back from there to the hotel and then take the shuttle to the airport for our departure next day. When we were stuck for somewhere to eat in the evening, she called a taxi to take us to the Green Acres Mall (fare $20) where there was a good choice of places to eat. The room was fine for an overnight stay although it was located close to a noisy ice-dispensing machine and new guests arriving were wanting ice in the early hours of the morning! Disturbed our sleep somewhat! There seemed to be a good choice for breakfast (from 5 am) even though we didn't have time to indulge. We would probably stay here again as it is convenient to the airport.

"Constant traffic noise"

Located next to a garbage truck depot, this Best Western seems to have two floors of rooms. The fourth floor rooms that overlook the highway have constant traffic noise. In addition, I was a few doors from the ice machine, which periodically kicked on and was LOUD. King room was pretty small, in part because of large chair. Room was very clean. Large containers of Dial and Breck shampoo in the shower. The shuttle to the airport is every hour on the half hour. The shuttle drivers were really nice and helpful / knowledgeable.

"Airport hotel has everything you need."

The Best Western has a good free breakfast that starts at 5am, airport shuttle, computer to print your boarding pass and a helpful staff. Everything you need for an overnight stay. Rooms were small but everything was nice and clean. If you are adventurous in the least, you can walk to a nice big park and a fine Caribbean restaurant both just a mile away.

"Pretty Good"

If you are traveling through JFK Airport this is the airport to stay at. Free shuttle to JFK. Had security there this year, This location can get a bit loud with the local traffic and sliding chairs in the buffet area. I have stayed at this location several time and it is acceptable.

The hotel is just 5 minutes by bus from the airport. Hotel also provides free shuttle bus from airport to hotel or vice versa. From airport you can pick up shuttle from Federal Circle via Airtrain. From hotel, an hour there is free shuttle bus to airport, e.g. 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 so make sure don't miss it. Breakfast is free in the hotel though not various. Room is big and clean, air-conditioner is available. From hotel to city center is about 1 hour, costs around $60-70 by taxi one way. Receptionist are helpful and friendly. Overall a good stay.

Really enjoyed our stay her. Very convenient to airport, bed were comfortable, and breakfast was mor then I expected. most important to me was how much the front desk ladies were not only friendly but went out of their way to answer my questions but very helpful when my boarding ticket didn't print out very well and helped to fix the problem.

I chose this place, as did apparently many reviewers, based on its proximity to JFK Airport. Their free shuttle is great, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. My room was clean and quiet, and there is a free breakfast buffet (which is tolerable, but totally consists of processed food). It was more expensive than I'd anticipated given the fact that it's pretty much in an industrial neighborhood, but I guess that's life in the big city.

I needed a room when I did not get a seat on a flight. I called several hotels and chose the JFK Best Western. Very nice room, quiet. I was tempted to order Indian food, but held off until breakfast. As noted in an earlier review, the scrambled eggs were powdered, but I had two servings! All in all, a very pleasant stay.

"Not a great stay for the money"

The best thing about this hotel is the shuttle to and from JFK. The drivers were great. I understand prices in this area are kind of steep but I'd rate this hotel as a $100 per room instead of the over $200 I paid. For one person it was overpriced. The room was clean, I didn't use the jacuzzi tub, and breakfast was poor. The eggs were salty and no bananas at 0500. There's no where to get a meal so I had to order in. I had to book quickly so didn't have time to research hotels. I found this one disappointing.

"Last resort"

This is the place you book when all else is full and you need a place close to JFK. Breakfast is only until 9am and composed of processed foods. After that, the only food and drinks are from vending machines. Transport service is severely lacking: only one shuttle toe JFK per hour and they left me stranded 45 minutes at a nearby mall in spite of promises like the « taxi is on its way ». There's nothing in the neighborhood and the hotel is totally overpriced ($150/night) for what it offers. Funny note: they have safety deposit boxes... but forgot to bolt them down so you literally walk away with one under your arm. Last but not least, I hope the ice machines in the corridor let you sleep.

Stayed at BW JFK for a late check and early check out - as a quick break between cross country flights. The room is functional and clean. The front desk staff Devani checked us in despite an issue with my credit card. This deserves a special thumbs up from a tired traveler who lost his wallet. Ms Mohan checked us out promptly at an ungodly hour. All in all - professional staff and clean room and great for a quick fix for an overnighter.

When our flight got cancelled, we weren't going anywhere soon. So, we used the hotel phone at the airport.All the hotels were full. Because of all the cancelled flights. We found a room at the Best Western. All the staff was so nice. Savi,Devani,Rosa,Famena,Bibi,Brian. The room was very clean. They have a beautiful breakfast bar. Besides the breakfast bar, they do not have a restaurant. But, they do have an assortment of takeout menus. That I'm sure deliver. This hotel, and staff went above and beyond. If you are at the airport and, need a place to stay, call on the airport hotel phone.They have a shuttle that will come and pick you up. They are only about 10 minutes away. Enjoy!

Check in staff (31st Jan at 10pm) really friendly efficient & nice, offered menus to order take out etc without having to ask. Hotel is a typical airport hotel, I wouldn't choose it for more than a night but the yellow cab took 6 minutes from JFK & cost $15 with tip. We have 2 days of travelling & this allowed us to break it up cheaply. Lots of traffic noise outside the room which with single glazing is noisy if you struggle to sleep, queen bed has been perfectly comfortable & although room isn't spacious or stunning it is nicely functional seems clean & has served its purpose. "Great stay near the airport."

Spent 1 night at this hotel. It's easy to get to and from the airport. Hotel provides shuttle. Room was smaller, but still a nice size with all the amenities and updated. Staff was wonderfully nice at checkin and check out. Breakfast selection was nice and well stocked.

"One night only, no more"

We spent there one night because of or late arrival and cancelled flight from LHR. This is an AP hotel, with free wifi and AP shuttle, really close to JFK - 5-6 minutes ride on free hotel shuttle. I gave low rate, because it is extreamly expensive, compare to any other BW hotels and othee JFK hotels. We payed 250 USD plus tax for one night, without BF. The room was clean, but small. If you have any other choice, do not go there, because of the price. For the same price you will get better service and room at JFK

It's close to JFK and there's a free shuttle to the airport. These are the only reasons to stay in this area and at this hotel. The breakfast was good and the staff was nice. It's a basic hotel near JFK. Nothing more. I paid €50 less for a better hotel in SoHo. It's ridiculous that the price for this hotel, which is on a highway in the middle of nowhere is so high. We had an early flight, so we chose it for it's proximity to JFK, but the price should have reflected the area. There is nothing to eat nearby, so if you're hungry, eat beforehand or order food for delivery. If you get a good rate, then it's fine, but the rate we got was higher than anything we paid in Manhattan over Christmas.

It was a very small hotel with immaculate service. Breakfast was okay if not great. Rooms were small and could barely fit in our luggage but bed was comfy and the bathroom was a good size with hot water and amenties. They have a shuttle service to the airport which is a good option as it drops you right at the entrance. Overall an okay hotel if you're travelling alone maybe not with the family primarily because of the room sizes.

I had a horrible experience with Best Western. Called to make a reservation as I was traveling with my family. I called the number on the Best Western website and without my knowledge was transferred to a booking agent who confirmed the price of one room only to then tell me the price went up for my 2nd room. When I asked to get out of the first reservation, he told me I would have to pay a fee. No one could help me and I got sent around to at least 8 people who all kept referring me back to the other - with no one able to help. I felt like I was trapped into staying at this horrible hotel. Will never stay in a best western again.

It was necessary to stay at the hotel due to missing a connecting flight due to airline issues. However, upon arriving at the hotel there was nothing aesthetically inviting. Upon entering our room, it was quickly noticeable that there was a lot of traffic noise. It sounded as if the window was open. We checked the window only to find if was closed. The loud road noise persisted throughout the night. It was made worse by thd room heater that continually turned on and off loudly. The bed was made uncomfortable because of how the bed was made. The sheets were tucked in so far down the bed that it did not allow sheets or blankets to be pulled up over our shoulders. This made for cold sleeping conditions. Finally, were told about the wonderful complimentary breakfast. Due to an early flight we were given take option. That consisted of a piece of fruit and a granola bar in a paper bag. When making the reservation, the person talked very highly about the wonderful complementary breakfast...not our experience! Even though it was a takeout breakfast, it could have been much, much better.

As we were arriving Into JFK very late after a sixteen hour flight, we decided to overnight at the airport. We followed the instructions on the website to get the airtrain and the free hotel bus shuttle without any problems. Checkin was fast and the reception lady was helpful. Our room, although not huge was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The room was modern and spotlessly clean. There were adequate lights and basic toiletries provided. The lamp base even had a USB port in it. The included breakfast the following morning was more than adequate with so many options including both hot and cold. If you could not find several things to eat for breakfast, then there would be something seriously wrong with you. They even provided newspapers to read in the breakfast room. Checkout was efficient and friendly. Considering the price of this hotel and the fact there is a huge breakfast included as well as a free shuttle, this is a serious bargain. We would stay here again if the need arose.

Price for Cleanliness was a big factor for my poor rating. I regret paying that much for such poor quality. I had to ask for bedsheet for the bed because of hairs under comforter and sheets. Will not recommend this place but do read the reviews sometimes it's a big help.

For the record, I am a Best Western Rewards Diamond member and as such, I'm entitled to certain amenities. I have stayed in probably 35 – 40 Best Western hotels, for hundreds and hundreds of nights, across the United States; as well as dozens of other hotels especially during my work career. I mention this only to show that I have a certain amount of experience. I love getting good reviews and I hate giving bad reviews. This is a good review: This was the first time I've stayed at this hotel. I was welcomed as a Diamond member when I checked in and I was impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of the front desk staff. This continued throughout my stay and my check out. The hotel is located just minutes away from JFK airport and they offer shuttle service for those folks who have not rented a car. For those with cars there is ample free parking. I am a big guy and although I found the room rather small and the bathroom even smaller, it was clean and everything work properly. In fact, the property itself is rather small with narrow halls and a small single elevator. I did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. One drawback of the location is that there were no restaurants or shopping nearby. it is located on a major highway and many shopping areas can be reached by car. A big plus was the bed, which was very comfortable, and I fell in love with their pillows and would've stolen them if I could've fit them in my bag. Of the three hotels I stayed at on this trip, I slept best here. I would certainly recommend this hotel for several reasons including the fact that it was inexpensive but a quality product.

It certainly was a long way from fresh and up-to-date. However. I was expecting something really run down and just a place to catch a nap and s shower before my early flight to the Bahamas in August. My stay was exactly 8/20. The young lady that I interacted with the most was delightful. There was also a very nice young man. I wasn't impressed with the pizzeria they recommended. It was the sustenance I needed after a long train ride. The shuttle driver on Monday morning had me walking away with a positive experience.

Extremely comfy room; very quiet. Excellent shuttle service. Excellent desk staff. Standard complimentary breakfast — very good. For the price the hotel should have a bar or restaurant. Used rewards points to stay. Honestly I might have booked a different hotel if I hadn't used points — spendy for no bar/restaurant. Fortunately the hotel has many shuttle options and they took us to a “nearby” Crown Plaza for a meal.

This is a great choice for travelers transioning thru JFK airport for overseas travel. We stayed at this hotel overnight flying from Seattle to India, and also coming back. This allowed us to blunt the long flight fatigue from the 14 hr flight to New Delhi. The hotel is very well run with a great breakfast. Easy to get to an from the airport via their free shuttle. The hotel is not a tourist hotel because the hotel is located near the airport. I think it is a great choice for travelers. The hotel has an agreement with the crown plaza that we had their shuttle pick us up and drop us off at Crown Plaza where we had a nice dinner. Then they brought us back to the BW. The hotel is not located within walking distance to a restaurant. You can order pizza delivered. Transportation into the city can be reached by the train and subway system. Cleaning staff starts at 9:00 am so when we arrived early , beat up from our 20 hrs traveling in from India, they had their staff service a room and get us in at 9:30. Very friendly and well tun. I will use this hotel again when l'm flying overseas on a connecting long flight.

Travelled from Hong Kong to NYC and arrived at 11pm (bad time, but no other flights are available when I had to change it). So I booked this hotel for an overnight stay. The shuttle runs 24 hours but only once per hour. Not too bad since I already knew it. But expect a long wait if you aren't lucky. Room is comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is typically continental breakfast stuff, but the area is a bit crowded.

The shuttle driver was helpful and courteous. Front desk staff were professional and terrific -- they had just run out of free cookies, but the young lady found one for me! The room met our needs, was clean, comfortable and well stocked with towels, sundries, etc. The proximity to JFK is nice, but get a room that doesn't face the front as it gets noisy on the street. Continental breakfast met our expectations. I really liked the excellent front desk staff. If I had a gripe, it would be that the breakfast attendant should dial it down -- she gets loud in the early morning hours!

"Bad experience"

Arrived as a family of 4 at 8pm for a one night stay. Our room was not ready and even had someone else's luggage in it?! We were asked to wait in a cramped corridor for 15 mins while the 2nd bed was made up. Our room (205) was next to a very noisy ice machine. I was woken several times in the night with guests getting ice. The room faced onto the street and the blind did not shut out all of the light from the street lighting. We left at 5.30am - breakfast served from 6am. We were however offered the grab and go breakfast. One positive is the shuttle bus to JFK but as only runs once an hour on the half hour.

10 Min from JFK, shuttle bus every hour, room was warm and clean with good coffee facilities, did the job for 1 night. was able to check in at 1AM, was allowed a later check out time due to this. Has a small area for breakfast too so you can have a coffee and relax while waiting on the bus.

We stayed here one night before flying out of JFK. It was easy to get to. Take the airport air train to Federal Circle and the shuttle bus will meet you there and take you to the hotel. The hotel rooms are small. Barely room to lay your suitcases. The bed was comfy. The breakfast was included and plentiful. The hotel is located in an industrial neighborhood and there are no restaurants within safe walking distance. So we ordered from an Italian restaurant that delivers to the hotel and ate our dinner in the breakfast area. It was delicious. We would stay here again for one night.

Stayed for one night after a late flight from UK. Rooms really clean , bathrooms clean . Nice to get a proper hairdryer in the room. The reception isn't the nicest but it's functional . The let down is nowhere to grab a bite to eat or have a drink at the hotel . Also the soundproofing being by a main road was bad . I would stay again if price was right as good value for a modern room .

The rooms we had (2 stays in 14 days) were small and clean. The staff was not at all accommodating when we asked for a second luggage rack. We were told only one was allotted per room; notwithstanding the fact that on most nights in most rooms there are probably at least two travelers with two suitcases. The coffee machine makes the most horrible coffee I have ever tasted. Better to get rid of the price machine and get a simple coffee brewer.

The hotel was clean, well maintained, and quiet. All members of the staff who served us were friendly and competent. For an "airport" hotel, this one was farther from the airport than I would have expected. But it was highly satisfactory.

"Most Helpful Staff"

We arrived after midnight for a stay of just 8 hours between flights. The desk staff member greeted us cheerfully and helped us get settled. The room was small for an accessible room. My only critique is that with a wheelchair there was little room for maneuvering between bed and bath, and our luggage barely fit. That being said, it is NYC and I'm sure there are smaller rooms. This one was very clean, well-appointed. A lot of street noise but it is an obvious commercial district, not the woods. The staff in the morning was exemplary. Everyone from the desk to the breakfast host to the maintenance man went out of the way to help my wife and me with luggage, breakfast, and getting transferred. The shuttle driver was very helpful as well.

Located very close to JFK, we drove in and stayed here for an early flight out of JFK. We had paid to park our car for a week. We did not know the parking was off-site and we had to walk from the parking location back to the hotel for the shuttle. Not ideal especially at 4:30 in the morning.

Stayed at this establishment as we had a 20 hour layover. It wasn't the best place we've stayed. Yes it was convenient, with a free shuttle service to the hotel. The bed was comfy. The room was very small for 2 people. Breakfast was good, nice selection. This was a very noisy area of town so we didn't have a very good night sleep after a long flight. Glad we didn't have an early flight the next day!

Location to the airport is great (free airport shuttle was appreciated for our late arrival and early departure) and the early breakfast was extremely handy (5am start M - F and 6am S - S). My wife and I got stuck in New York JFK after missing our connection to Paris. Pros: free but extremely bumpy shuttle to/from airport, free WIFI, free breakfast. Cons: very small room, no blanket on the bed, construction work going on constantly outside during the day (so much for sleeping), expensive for what you get ($230+), breakfast ends at 9 am. Nothing special, just a convenient place to sleep, but not too late.

While reviewing the site location on Google maps and booking my reservation in advance prior to arrival, I was a bit concerned about the general surroundings (i.e. major airport, freeway, school bus yard, car airpark ... even the department of sanitation to boot). But in all honesty, during the duration of my stay, I could hear nothing and see very little of the immediate neighbourhood from my room even with the windows opened. In fact, it was rather peaceful - almost like being in the country without the sound of crickets. The only wildlife to be found was the odd - and I do mean odd - passing vehicle with the stereo system cranked up to the max on what was the Labour Day holiday weekend. I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised with how well the hotel property - individual rooms, fitness area, breakfast area, lobby, visitor washroom - as a whole was maintained at all times along with the pride that the staff (including security) took in their daily, assigned duties. The real-time flight information electronic board at reception was a nice touch and the complimentary wi-fi service was consistently fast, reliable and convenient. Beyond the hotel, you have approximately a 10 -15 min. walk to basic amenities and transit but last I checked, moderate exercise never killed anyone, is free and rather good for your health!!! Overall, the hotel accommodation is very practical with all the basic amenities covered along with complimentary airport shuttle service. I had already stayed one night on my outward journey layover in NYC, but my return layover placed me at an awkward time for checkin to the hotel. The manager listened to my plight and came up with an early checkin solution. I was able to get in some much needed sleep before my onward journey. The room and facilities were excellent! I happily recommend this hotel for those seeking a layover for onward journeys from JFK.

The garbage truck depot is next door, so front rooms are noisy from big garbage trucks, air brakes, gears grinding, engines revving, etc. Also, the sun shines directly into front rooms, making them very warm. Next time I would stay in a room in the back of building. There was no towel bar at all in bathroom. The room is seriously small, but very nice, and tastefully decorated. The staff is great. About 30mins after I checked in, the front desk called my room asking how everything was. The airport shuttle instructions are ridiculously confusing: they runs on the 30's. Shuttle driver was friendly and helpful @ 5:30am :-) Breakfast is amazing.

I have stayed for allmost 24 hours and i can Tell You that You will have all you need of an airport hotel. There is a free shuttle that delivers tursts from and to airport. The room was very nice with a coffee machine, free wifi (works great) and cable tv. There's an included complete breakfast, i liked it. There is no restaurants or anything on de surroundigs of the hotel, unless you take an Uber, You will need to order delivery food (phones and menu are given on front door) or buy something like a instant soup in hotel bar but the guy at the entrance says that are horrible jaja. In conclusion it is a Nice hotel that gives you all you need for a night.

Very friendly and comfortable hotel. Rooms were small as well as beds. Parking is included in the price. It is very convenient for just one to two nights when you have to go to the JFK airport or f you come from.

"One Night Stay at BW JFK Airport"

I had just completed 14 hours of travel from Ghana through Amsterdam to JFK. By the time I got to the hotel I just wanted to shower, have something to eat and SLEEEEEEPPPPPP. This is a convenient hotel for overnight stays for longer that usual layovers at the airport. Very conveniently located. Rooms are quite nice but small and cramped. Great shuttle service. Great delivery service from nearby restaurants with complete menus in the room.

"Best front desk service"

We arrived around 7pm from driving all day and were welcome really great with bottle of water and snacks. The front desk person named Mamoud was really really kind to us and helped get everything we needed that night before our flight next morning.

Stayed here with family be sure to request a fridge if you need one like it say NO Frills. Hotel has one elevator and slow as hell...But overall nice hotel and nice front desk staff also breakfast was good...would stay here again and would recommend.

Stayed in a Best Western for the first time in about 20 years, because of a flight cancellation at JFK Airport with most hotels fully booked as a result. Clean comfortable room and bed, friendly reception staff. 24 hr shuttle bus service. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items. Looking after the breakfast room was Feroza who was very efficient, friendly and helpful despite the room being very busy.

We use this motel as a stepping stone to Heathrow. Convenient pickup and delivery to JFK. Convenient cabs to La Guardia if you're switching airports. Computer and printer for check-in and boarding passes. Considerate staff. Much better than average breakfast. Good Wi-Fi. What more do you need?

The hotel staff are well honest, courteous and approachable. I lost an envelop containing $200, one of the house keeping staff found it and gave it to the front desk. We are so grateful for this act of honesty which is not common in most places. The staff made us feel at home. Thank you so much.

Upon arrival I was greeted with a friendly hello and genuine smile (very hard to find these days). Not to mention I had a few issues while checking in due to a mistake I had made. This young woman went above and beyond trying to correct the problem. You could tell that she really cared, in the end she did solve the problem, and made sure I was taken care of in the mean time. Also while we were making conversation I mentioned that I was needing to go to LaGuardia in the morning. She offered to order me a cab and called my room when it was on its way. I was thoroughly impressed by the professional and friendly Nature of this young woman. If you are looking for a comfortable stay where the staff really cares about the customer then I would recommend this Best Western. Stop in and receive a authentic smile from Jasmine at the front desk.

Well they got you if you get stuck at JFK overnight. 300+ a night for a hotel that should cost less than 50.00 Old property, no restaraunt and none nearby only pizza and Chinese delivery. Waited 45 minutes for the shuttle bus to pick me up. Guys at front desk seemed to care less whether I stayed or not. Free breakfast is worthless when you are leaving early. Not even coffee and juice -machines were powered off. My advice is to sleep in the airport over this property.

The hotel is close to the airport. Thee is a twenty four hour shuttle making it a good place in between flight. The breakfast is decent. Room is clean and comfortable with a clean bathroom. Ideal for a lay over.

Don't expect too much. This is just a hotel very close to JFK for overnight sleeping only. The rooms are very small. A/C (air condition) is very noisy and not performing good. It is only as clean as it could be as an overnight stay hotel. Breakfast is very weak. One of the reasons to chose this hotel was the 24 hours shuttle to/from JFK. But we had to wait for the shuttle for almost 40 minutes. Luckily I phoned the hotel to ask about the shuttle and by chance I learned that the shuttle for that hotel was the "Holiday Inn Express" shuttle, not the BW hotel shuttle! which is not mentioned any where.

Loxated close to JFK...it was easily approachable via shuttle.Clean and comfortable rooms...with very comfy beds.Breakfast did not meet expectations and can do with a revision of the menu and food quality.The hotel lobby is depressing. The hotel staff is not very forthcoming with the hotel location if the taxi service is not availed...cost us $68 to go to empire state building and $20 to get back using the subway and taxi.

Will call specific site next time also. Our confirmation of park and fly with Reservations meant nothing and was a nightmare. You think you are doing everything correct 6 months ahead of time and have confirmation # to back you up and it didn't mean anything .

This hotel is convenient for it's location. Although the lobby is small and there is no restaurant. The breakfast here really shines. Lots of options including 2 types of waffles, fresh fruit, breads, cereal choices, non watered down orange juice and hash on the hot bar. Feroza the young lady that provides the service is attentive and friendly.

My friends and I are from Philly and had an early flight out of JFK so decided to book a room for the night before. We chose this hotel because on every website I checked it says the hotel offers free parking (no reservation needed) and airport shuttle.. Well WARING if you book this hotel through a third party website such as trip advisor or Expedia the free parking IS NOT included. When we arrived they said only through best western is that offered long story short had to spend another 100 dollars to park are car on top of what we already spent on the room. I'm sure I'm not the only person this happened to. Not ok!!

Nice room and area but nothing within walking distance. Easy access. Staff very helpful with information on getting around surrounding areas. Free parking that was much appreciated. Doesn't appear to be much parking, but Lt is shared with a couple other hotels, which makes parking easy.

The room was what you would expect at an airport hotel, clean and functional and reasonably priced. What really made it excellent is the free breakfast served by Feroza Kadir. She is a great hostess, friendly, caring and the selections are wonderful. There is something for every taste: bacon, omelets, waffles (with fresh fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, maple syrup), yogurt, and of course a sections of cereals and oatmeal. A wonderful way to start the day or the trip.

Great hotel in a si-so neighborhood. Don't venture out at night alone. The hotel is nice, clean, a bit overpriced. Free internet in the room and free shuttle to the airport. So for a quick solution it works. It was a better alternative to the Days Inn

Our American Airlines flight was canceled out of JFK in New York. According to airport staff there were not any rooms available in the area. We called the Best Western in Jamaica City (?) near the airport and they were able to provide a room for us with early check in. We had been up most the night trying to get a flight out. The staff was extremely helpful. The shuttle driver who returned us to the airport the next day was fantastic.

This hotel is great if you want to stay close to JFK airport. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, helpful staff, reliable shuttle and good breakfast. The rooms in the back face the freeway, which can be noisy - so have ear plugs handy - it's a huge city, so there is going to be noise. If you want to get on the subway, take the shuttle back to the airport and you can then connect to the subway. This hotel is ultimately about its close proximity to the airport because there really aren't any amenities (restaurants, stores, etc.) in the immediate area.

Arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning, so didn't get the chance for the best look around. However the location appeared to be lacking in any sort of amenities, so if you're planning to go anywhere then you might be disappointed. Room was tiny, but for an airport hotel that's not too much of a problem. My big complaint, and warning to others, concerns the transport to the airport. This runs ONCE AN HOUR. Which means that you may have to leave anything up to 50-55 minutes earlier than you would ideally want to - which for an early morning (or indeed any time of the day if you're jet-lagged) can make a big, and unwelcome, difference.

"Midnight Maintenance"

Although the hotel was convent for our plans, the hotel was generally noisy with outside traffic noise. After finally dropping off to sleep, we were awakened by by what we thought initially was someone trying to break into our room. There were loud voices and someone trying the adjacent door over and over again. Twice I had to confront these people who told me that they were trying to access the room as the lock was damaged. This went on until 1 am when finally we were able to rest. The only excuse I got was that they were trying to repair the lock despite me saying we had paid good money for a good nights rest. Only a vague apology was offered. On complaining to the front office next morning, they were very off hand and offered a vague explanation with no offer of any recompense. I would certainly not be staying here again.

Hotel and staff great. Location lacking due to no restaurants or bars close by. But they do have a number of delivery options available. Very convenient to JFK. Shuttle service every 20 minutes or so from airport.

Remarkably quiet. We were on 2nd floor on back side. We woke up late the next morning and walked in for breakfast right before/closing. Feroza Kadir took gear care of us. She was so kind and thoughtful. She even offered a couple extra granola barsfor the road

The Best Western JFK Airport Hotel was exactly what we needed and exceeded our expectations. From the front desk staff to the security personnel to the breakfast attendant to the airport transportation driver, everyone was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was modern looking and very clean. The breakfast offerings were fresh and one of the best we've had at any type of hotel. Transportation to the JFK airport is offered frequently and a quick trip. We didn't check out the fitness room. In room internet worked well. Offstreet parking next to the hotel was free. We got everything we were promised.

This Best Western is fairly modern and very clean. The room was nice and beds comfortable. Really the only reason I am writing is because of the excellent service we received while eating the breakfast. Her name is Feroza and she was very kind and super helpful. "Flight cancellations"

Our flight was cancelled and after calling 8 hotels this is the only one that had rooms. We booked it because we had no other option. The rooms are clean but the hotel doesn't feel safe at all. The window in our room didn't lock and we were facing the street. My husband called the front desk and they said that they had no other rooms. The room had a safe and when he went to put our passports we realized that the safe wasn't even vaulted to anything. So technically anybody can pick up the safe and go. We asked the Front Desk if it was safe to walk somewhere to get some food and it was clearly a bad idea. We walked not more than 10 minutes when we turned around. The hotel is not bad for one night but for $300 a night the windows should at least lock.

Close to airport, was most reasonable price for extended park, fly, sleep, parking right across street was safe, good van and other service, excellent pillowtop bed and bedding, nice bath with plenty of decent towels, and a very good breakfast, starting at 5 am, of real food, not cold choices wrapped in plastic and tasting like it. Real eggs and sausage, cold cereals, fruit, waffles, pastries, bagels, and several choices of breads for toast. This is a budget hotel with mid range qualities.

"Just what we wanted!"

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to JFK, shuttle service, free wifi and hot breakfast as we were only spending one night. When we got to the hotel shuttle area, I called the hotel and they said we could take either their shuttle or the Days Inn shuttle as the hotels are next door to each other. The shuttle came quickly. We checked in about 5:00 pm and ordered dinner from one of the many restaurant takeout menus in our room and upon on delivery we ate it in the breakfast room. There are absolutely no restaurants within close walking distance of the hotel. Our room was very quiet and was in the back on the second floor, convenient to the breakfast room. Room was fine, a little small but clean, a good shower, big TV with tons of channels, fast wifi and comfortable bedding and linens. There is a fitness room with limited equipment. The hot breakfast was great and upon request they extended our checkout time at no charge. Staff was courteous and helpful. Shuttle back to JFK was quick. All in all, just what we wanted. While on the shuttle I saw lots of hotels about 1/2 mile away but I would return to this hotel when using JFK. You certainly wouldn't want to stay here for a vacation although I did see brochures advertising city tours that would pick you up at the hotel.

Rates were reasonable. Room was small but just enough room for 2 suitcases. Breakfast was standard motel breakfast. It was plentiful and nicely displayed. Staff very helpful, especially Feroza Kadir in Bkfst. room.

Fantastic experience from start to finish.24 hour reception/help was fab as I arrived late night.The hotel was immaculate, bathroom ,bedding(I'm a real fuss pot but no complaints at all) Had a lovely nights sleep on a huge bed,and considering JFK is minutes away you can't hear a thing Honest !!! So quiet.you hardly hear other guests either.Breakfast is 5-9 / 6-10 weekends. So much choice,Hot foods,eggs bacon sausage,and delicious fried potatoes.Healthy cereals,porridge,fresh fruits.Choice of breads ,even make your own waffles. Variety of fruit juices,filtered water and tea/coffee machine is available 24 /7.All staff members were so helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.Hotel is minutes from jfk,get on the Air train from terminals,go to Federal Circle,downstairs you take a small bus to Hotels.Get on the Best western or Holiday inn bus(they are next to each other) you won't wait to long they run every 20 minutes,takes 5minutes or so to Hotel.These are free to use anytime 24/7you need to get back to JFK.I used them a lot to link up with the subway into Manhattan .Go to Jamaica then get the E train to 34st/Penn st station,you can walk to almost anywhere from there.You buy a Metro card ,don't worry there are a lot of assistance to help with fares,destinations etc,its really easy and well signposted.I travelled all over on the subway,from Times square went to the ferry (its free) to view Statue of liberty.I chose this Hotel as financially,its value for money compared to inner city hotels,some don't serve food on the premises and are more expensive. Fares are very reasonable so I was still better off financially,I didn't even use cabs.I personally preferred to be close to the airport.So if you don't mind using the subway, this is a fantastic choice.Happy travels.

We stayed one night inbetween flights. We just needed somewhere close to the airport with a place to lay our heads, and it served this purpose. It's not in a great location, unless you like sanitation plants, and you're not walking anywhere. The hotel provides several menus from local restaurants which deliver, and that was helpful. Some hotel cliental were questionable but there were also a good number of travelers. The hotel seemed to do a good job at separating travelers from the questionable, which I give them credit for. Room was clean and sufficient. Breakfast was adequate. Transportation to/from the hotel was excellent! It's fine for one night. What can I say, they do the best with what they have.

This hotel worked out fine for us when we unexpectedly had an overnight stay in New York due to flight connection issues. The shuttle picked us up at the air train, the desk clerk was very helpful and efficient, explaining about breakfast and the shuttle back to the airport the next morning. The room was clean and quiet and we had no complaints. We left before breakfast was served, so no comments there.

Comfortable room with great hot breakfast. The only challenge was the shuttle from the airport. We were told it ran every 20 minutes so we went to the federal circle pickup from the airport on the air train and waited. It was cold and raining. The shuttle did not come for 45 minutes. Might be worth the cab fair next time.

I recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place for the night. It was a comfortable and clean room. In the morning, which started late because of a 3 year old staying up till 3am, we left our room for the breakfast. Upon arival to the kitchen area, my daughter and I find that everything was almost done being cleaned up. Rebecca saw that my daughter and I were kinda let down by this, and proceeded to make breakfast for us. Like I said, our morning hero! They make sure you have a good experience here.

We had to stay by the airport and we picked BW because of the shuttle available and proximity. I have to say I was a bit disappointed because of the smell of disinfectant everywhere in the room. Other than that, nice hotel.

There is not much around (nothing) but this hotel is for hanging out after a long flight or before taking an early flight. The rooms are very comfortable. Everything is very clean and the breakfast is very good! The staff is friendly and that's appreciated after facing the not so friendly airport people.

My husband and I stayed one night as we had an early morning flight from JFK. We booked based on previous reviews. We were picked up,and dropped off by the courtesy shuttle and the drivers were both friendly and helpful. The whole process of being picked up is very easy and after taking the air train to federal circle, you call form the courtesy phone and someone will collect you from the shuttle pick up point. The hotel provides breakfast, which we didn't have time for but there is no restaurant to eat in for other meals, as stated by other reviewers. However, there are take away menus in the room which cater for all tastes. The room was small and dated, but we were only there for a night ! The staff were very professional and I would stay again.

I usually associate Great Western Hotels with neat and clean and affordable but not necessary upscale. However this location blew my expectations out of the water. I travelled here to see a performance at the Met and take in the vibrant vibe of NYC, so I simply needed a clean, comfortable place to stay within my budget, close to the city. This was it and more, from it's large flat screen TV, classy Danish inspired furniture and bed (crisp sheets and immaculately made bed with crisp classy sheets and bolster throw pillow) and marble walls in shower stall, to, and this is the best part, it's warm, hard working staff. I had just arrived to breakfast a minute or two late, and the efficient team was cleaning and putting things away. I must have looked starved, lol, because one of the team members, her name is Feroza, asked me if I needed anything and made sure I was taken care of. I particularly remember her kindness, because I had a long activity-filled day ahead and needed the fuel and to stay within my food budget. Not every hotel chain understands customer Service. Though I was a two or three minutes late to breakfast, it's understanding and kind individuals like Feroza and the quality accommodations at a reasonable price that let me know that Best Western understands and places a premium on providing a great place to stay and a fantastic team to ensure our stay is wonderful. If all Best Westerns are like this, they'll keep my business! Thank you Best Western at JFK.

We stayed one night we had an early flight out. Rooms were clean. Staff was nice they offered a free shuttle to the Crown Plaza for food and drinks shuttle was prompt both ways. Good choice for and early flight would stay here again.

Easy, inexpensive access to Manhattan and JFK. Arrived at JFK at 10am. Called hotel to let them know I arrived. By the time the free shuttle dropped me off at 10:30 they had a room ready for me, even though standard check in time isn't until 3pm. It felt so good to take a hot bath and slide into clean sheets after a cross country red eye flight. It took me about 90 minutes and $9 to get to Manhattan the next day using free shuttle and air train/subway. I had yogurt, raisin bran cereal (with fresh blueberries) and a waffle as part of the free breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Decent enough hotel with good shuttle service to JFK. No restaurant, but has a very good hot breakfast buffet and 10 minute delivery from a Chinese restaurant nearby. Front desk very willing to help under New York City conditions.

I stayed for just three nights in JFK, and I must commend the staff for their great service. I would like to say a huge Thank You to the one breakfast staff in particular 'feroza' just my little angel.. she was highly efficient and followed through with her amazing customer service every day, I can say ferozia made it pretty clear that great customer service is first and foremost always. I recommend this hotel, i will certainly return and don't forget ask for "feroza"

"Clean, good condition and Dull"

The Best Western JFK is functional. It provides a clean, well maintained room at a reasonable cost. In the room, everything worked. The check-in process was simple and quick, as was check-out. The staff were polite. The included breakfast was decent food, in a crowded canteen-like atmosphere. The hotel lacks any character and charm, but that is unlikely to deter the airport travellers who use it. On the down side, it is noisy, being close to a freeway, but no more so than other NYC hotels. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to/from JFK running once per hour. The hotel is very close to the airport so the shuttle ride is short and painless. The shuttle pick up point at JFK is hard to find and horrible, exposed to all weathers, but all hotels in the area share it and its more a problem with JFK not the Best Western.

Very clean inside and out. The staff is awesome. Had just gotten off a 7 day cruise and had not sleep at all. The room was clean, great tub/ shower and bed was wonderful. We had a good nights rest.

As far as NY prices go this wasn't bad value. The free bus from JFK was a bit of a scrum and not obvious that it is labeled Holiday Inn Express. Check-in was ok as I was first off the bus but as majority of visitors seem to come in on the JFK bus a imagine you may have to wait on occasions. Room was small but very clean, breakfast really was excellent. Special mention for Ana who seems to run the breakfast area, does amazing job and really helpful giving advice on how to get downtown as cheap as possible by avoiding taxis and using subway. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect for a JFK layover and inexpensive for visiting NYC if you don't mind making the trip each day back and forth with their shuttle bus and then the metro. Good breakfast to get you going for the day. Industrial area along a highway so not touristy.

A great place to relax on your way to or from JFK. Personnel are helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Close to subway to go into city. Enjoyed our stay here. No restaurants around so it's a good idea to bring food. There are Vending machines but choices are limited.

Came for a couple of nights with the family. Approximately 5 minutes drive from the rental cars in jfk , but there's also a shuttle service which is nice to have. Staff (Kavita) was very helpful and gave us the rooms we needed for handicaps. Our room was on second floor facing the street so was a little noisy (people talking in the street at night could be heard too well). The breakfast was nice and as expected. Will definitely come back again.

Great free shuttle to/from JFK Airport, runs on the half hour. Small lobby area, 6-7 steep stairs from lobby. Elevator not working when we checked in and we were on the 4th floor, and very tired-help did arrive to carry our 2 suitcases though. Hotel is slightly in need of updating. Beds were very comfortable, which when flying in from International travel was very important. Left early in morning so unable to try the breakfast. Would stay here again if for just over-night. Pricey for the stay although this is New York.

I was transiting back to the Atlanta through JFK and needed to overnight for my flight the next morning. I've stayed at Best Western's in the past and found their product...rooms, breakfast, etc. very satisfying for the price. The room was exactly what I needed...plenty of charging ports, light and a black out shade. The A/C worked very well and the bed was very comfortable for me as a side sleeper. It is a plush top, which I prefer, not pillow top or flat mattress. Linens were clean and fresh. I was very early for breakfast. I made myself a blueberry waffle and had a couple of sausages and cereal. There were many options for bagels and bread, and 4 different cereals. I was sorry the eggs didn't appear before I needed to depart on the 5:30 a.m. shuttle. Given the opportunity, I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again. Some tips: Shuttle runs from the hotel every hour on the half hour. This means that after dropping guests off at terminals it will arrive sometime around the top of the hour at the Federal Circle waiting area. Two things: 1) The Best Western logo was very small on a Holiday Inn Express van. The two hotels are across from each other so you can take that one. 2) The way to the hotel vans is not well marked. You need to make an immediate right in front of the entrance to the Hertz rental center and head down a covered path to the circle where the hotel vans wait for passenger.

Was not fancy and would not walk around outside the hotel but it was exactly what we needed and expected for a 1 night stay near airport with transfer to/from airport. We used transfer to hotel from airport when we dropped off car which was very easy and then early the next day for an early flight out of JFK. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Really like this place. 4 plugs and 2 USB at the bedside. Charging everything at once. Bed comfortable. Room very clean. Many restaurants deliver here as there is no on site restaurant. Picked up at federal circle and will be dropped off at terminal. Front desk friendly as was shuttle driver.

My flight landed at 7 Am. I called the hotel from the airport to check if they can check me in early and they said that by 9 a room would be ready for me, and they didnt even charge me extra for that. Shuttle service from JFK was great. From the hotel they have a shuttle every hour. In the next morning the driver dropped us off at our gate and not at the shuttle station which saved us time

Stayed one night at the Best Western JFK on September 10th. Very close to JFK Airport and ideal if you plan to travel on the next day. The hotel is clean and front office staff pleasant. Breakfast was fair but not exceptional. This hotel does not have a full restaurant and meals have to be ordered in. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the airport. If you plan on staying longer than 1 or 2 days, I recommend moving closer to the city.

Only stayed one night as we wanted somewhere close to the airport after a long flight. It has a free shuttle from the airport but just be aware that you need to get the train to the right stop where the shuttles are (that is free as well). The room was good: lamps which had charging points were a great idea, bath was jetted (didn't have a chance try it sadly), air con, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast had a lot of variety (including a waffle machine). The only negative was they used disposable plates, bowls, cutlery and cups which seemed extremely wasteful especially as there was no recycling that we could see!

Location is remote and no near other services, including restaurants. Ran out of some breakfast foods. Exercise room locked. The shuttle to the airport was on time, and the staff was friendly. I trusted this hotel would be okay because I booked it through Costco.

I stayed there on the coldest Valentine night of NY just for one night as a transit passenger. There was free shuttle service from JFK to the hotel. I had to come to Federal Circle station where there is a call booth to call respective hotel (free) and the vehicle arrived within 15 minutes. But for me on that night with minus 18 deg. Celsius, that 15 minutes was endless waiting! There was return shuttle to the same place next morning at designated time. Reception process was prompt with good behavior people. Hotel is self service a expected. Lobby and corridor were not that much clean but the room was. Linen were good and clean, bedding fine, room was quiet and sleep quality good. The in house restaurant serves breakfast only and for dinner one have to go to some other place. The breakfast they serve were mostly bread, juice, fruit, coffee etc. and were plenty. The waitress present there offered to made me blueberry trifle - so tasty! Checkout was also prompt. strongly recommend for transit passengers on a budget.

We stayed here overnight after a flight from the UK. As we were flying out the next day we just booked a hotel with a free shuttle (which was a bonus) The hotel is dated and the rooms small, but we found our room to be perfectly fine. The room has all the things you need for an overnight stay and we found it fine. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast area will get busy as it is small, but we found that the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The wifi was good and was free so that was good. You don't really want to be staying there any longer than 1 night as there is literally nothing to do in the area, it's essentially on a business estate.

Best Western JFK Airport – (NYC) – This typical Best Western is an older model, but the small room was clean. It is close to JFK and offers a free shuttle to the airport. It also provides a free breakfast. The staff was the best part of the stay. They were all very helpful and gracious.

"Poor hotel overall "

The only good thing about the hotel we liked was the shuttle service. The floors are nasty and need cleaned. THE smell throughout the entire hotel is BAD!! Once we arrived we never left due to the surrounding of the hotel. The breakfast area was hot and crowded at 7 am. The hotel is very dated.. Not the usually Best Western that my family was used too.

It's in the middle of nowhere, but it's minutes from JFK. The room was small, but it was very clean with modern bathroom fixtures. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and the room was quiet. I did not check the Wifi. The included breakfast includes hard boiled eggs, fresh waffles, sausage, and the usual fruits, toast, cereal and pastries. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. I wish there were bar soap for the bathtub instead of the gel dispenser. That's the only thing I would ask them to change, a minor point. I think this is a good choice for an overnight stay when you've got a flight the next morning. They pick up at the airport from the air train frequently, but returns to the airport are only hourly. While not a 4 star hotel in the usual sense, if you need to overnight near JFK, this is a good choice at a reasonable price.

When stranded at JFK by Delta we booked here for one night. The venue is close to the airport and other hotels. But it does not have a restaurant or a bar. Neither does the area around. So come prepared if you are hungry or want a drink. The room is small but nicely furnished. The TV is the old CRT type and the internet is slow. The breakfast was standard Best Western with a nice waffle maker and fresh blueberries etc. No complaints there. The hotel operates a shuttle every hour on the half hour. Nice.

We chose the Best Western JFK because we were looking for a reasonably priced room that included breakfast and we had stayed here once before, However, to our surprise, we found that recent renovations and excellent management and staff had earned this hotel our "most improved" award. Our room was on the 4th floor and was tastefully newly decorated and immaculately clean. A full breakfast with wonderful service awaited us each morning, including made to order waffles, yogurt, fresh blueberries, fresh strawberries, several kinds of juice, freshly made very good coffee,meats, and scrambled eggs that somehow were never dry but always fluffy and delicious, several flavors of oatmeal. A shuttle is available every hour on the half hour 24/7 to take you to your terminal at JFK or to Federal Circle station, where you can get a short air train ride to the New York subway or the Long Island Railroad. Pickup is available there to take you back to the hotel, and we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a return trip. How do they do that? A most enjoyable stay!

Quiet clean, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. I used the pick up and drop off shuttle. I needed to do some stretches and the carpet, while vacuumed, was a bit sticky - some carpet steam cleaning needed perhaps?

Arrived at JFK and found the Hotel Shuttle bus. The hotel is spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was included, Coffee was not great but I have never found good coffee at any USA hotels. If you have need to be close to JFK this is the place for you. Breakfast included covers all food choices and friendly happy staff on hand to assist you with finding what you want. Coffee is very good, almond milk provided for non dairy people. Rooms very comfortable and we got a Jacuzzi in our bathroom. Would stay again with the free airport shuttle a short ride to your gate. 10/10 for this Best Western

"Solid Choice at JFK with Great Staff"

The location of the hotel requires a car to get around to restaurants, etc. This property is a solid choice for JFK where hotel quality is all over the map. My only negative comment on the location of this hotel is that it is not near any restaurants. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean.

(+) : an hourly airport shuttle is so convinient, the breakfast is good, staff in breakfast area is so polite and helpful, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big enough and clean, 5 minutes from JFK airport, they have vending machine in each floor, there is a lot of space to open suitcases. (-) : they only provide a small square pillow which I found weird.

"Tiny Room, High Price"

This was probably the nicest airport hotel I've ever stayed at; most have been really bad. I deliberately selected the Best Western because it was expensive, hoping that it would be well above average. The room was clean, well appointed, and everything functioned well, but it was very small. Not a good value. However, the most serious problem was that, even though there were several other airport hotels nearby, there seemed to be almost no place to eat lunch or dinner. All the hotel staff could recommend was to order a meal delivered or to take a shuttle to another nearby hotel. Finally, we found a restaurant (acceptable but not great) at the nearby Marriott.

Facing an eleven hour layover at JFK, we opted for a day room at this Best Western. Wise choice! We were able to shower and take a much appreciated nap before heading back to the airport for our trans atlantic flight. The shuttle driver very generously took us directly to our terminal. Made the dreaded West Coast to Europe trek MUCH easier.

"Convenient, no noise, but isolated"

I stayed two nights between my flights, and can't complain about the property and its amenities. The room was a good size and very clean, the front desk staff were really helpful, particularly when a child started running up and down the hallways, unsupervised and screaming. They handled the situation very quickly, which I appreciated! The hotel is very isolated, although there is another hotel right next door. Many restaurants will deliver to the hotel, and I would advise using either GrubHub or Yelp to choose a restaurant, rather than relying on the restaurant flyers available at the hotel. The shuttle to the Federal Transit Center at the airport operates pretty regularly, and it's easy from there to either go into the city, or catch the AirTrain to the airport terminals. The rooms are very quiet, and I had no problems falling asleep - no airline takeoff off or landing noises were audible at all. I'd choose the Best Western again if I had another overnight layover at JFK - its proximity to the airport, friendly staff, and clean and comfortable rooms are worth the fact that it's far away from dining options.

We stayed here the night before our flight. The room was very clean, the king bed was comfortable; the lady at the service desk recommended a great place to get new york style pizza (she was right); the shuttle picked us up from a flight and took us back for a flight the next day. The traffic was bad but he got us there early and was very helpful.

I only stayed a night for my early flight the next day. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The shower area got black spots on the floor which is very unpleasant. There are also no restaurants nearby and you have to call for delivery.

This is a very good place for short stay. It's comfortable, convenient for transportation to the airport, and has quality food choices for dining options. I recommend anyone visiting for a short period of time, a minimum of 1 day to one week of stay. Furthermore, the cost is decent for budget travelers. "Avg. hotel, not as good as other Best Western"

Stayed here for early flight in the morning. The hotel room is average. My room is quite small(king bedroom). You can hear noise from the highway but not too disturbing. I have stayed in other best western hotels with much better rooms. Price is reasonable. Their is nothing to expect too much from this place. Free WiFi is good.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first time it was just ok. This time it was awful! Upon arriving we were placed in a room on the second floor, which is basically 6 feet above ground level. I didn't really like being ground level and asked if we could move to the second or third floor. The person at the front desk looked on the computer but said they were fully booked and had no available rooms, which I understood. I went back to the and checked to see if the window was locked and it wasn't. I tried moving the locks up and down but the window would not lock. And the only thing behind the window was a screen that was not even properly aligned. I called the front desk and the same person came to our room and attempted to lock the window, which was unsuccessful. I said I was not comfortable staying in an almost ground level floor with a window that doesn't even lock. The individual attempted to convince me that we would be fine because there is a camera close to the window and also because the window is close to the entrance and if any one tried to open the window he would hear it. I explained that I am not sleeping in a ground level floor with a window that does not lock and he said he would try to see what he could do to get us another room. Within five minutes we had a room on the fourth floor. We checked in after midnight so I know it was a lie when they told me 10 minutes before they were fully booked with nothing available. When we got to our new room and i pulled the blanket down on my bed I found multiple black spots or stains on the sheet. At this point I was so tired that I just pulled the sheet off and tried to sleep without letting my face touch the sheets. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and I did not sleep well. When I explained everything to the manager in the morning her response was that the windows do not lock and that we would have been perfectly safe on the second floor because there's no way to open the window front the outside (looking at the windows from the outside I can see that is clearly a lie, if someone wanted to get the window open and it's not locked, they could). She kept saying she's sorry but her face clearly showed she did not care. She offered me a gift card for another stay at any Best Western hotel. As if I would ever stay there again! I will never be staying there again.

Generally rooms in NYC are about 175 sqft this is the normal size. You will find that many hotel brands that offer a complimentary breakfast use only plastic utensils and paper plates. There a some that use actual plates but those hotels have a full kitchen. I am disturbed by the cost to the mall. It should have only been $28.00 to the Green acres Mall. Please keep in mind that this is a service that we do not control the pricing and the car service company is only a recommendation by the hotel. Located in hotel area near JFK with shuttle available to and from airport. Functional hotel but with lovely staff. Arrived early, before check in time, and were offered seating in coffee/breakfast area and connected to Internet. Wifi not good and couldn't get into Google. Room clean and with super king size bed. Breakfast God with plenty of choice and included in price. Staff were friendly, helpful and had good eye to eye contact. No eateries or places to go in area. Need taxi and one was ordered for us to go to Jamaica where there is some life as well as transport to NYC. Meter rate for return taxi to hotel.

My daughter and I stayed here last night and it was much more pleasant than I expected for a budget hotel. The staff were all amazing--best customer service that I have seen in a long time. And the breakfast had a nice variety of hot and cold food including homemade waffles and great NY bagels! I highly recommend this hotel. Rooms were small (NY style), but clean and recently updated. The only area I found a little frustrating was the WIFI which was slow, but their service certainly made up for it.

This was a good place to stay before our early morning flight out of JFK. The rooms were comfortable and located in a cluster of other chain hotels. The shuttle was great - left every 30 minutes - and prompt. The front desk had a tray of brown bag breakfast for us to grab and go- nice touch and appreciated!

Stayed here for one night before our flight back to Canada. So glad it was one night. Front staff were helpful but the room was tiny. You could hardly move. I know we had luggage but this was crazy. Not really safe to venture out so we ordered pizza. They have menus to different restaurants. I cannot remember the name of pizza place but we have had a lot better. Bed was comfortable and shower was good. It was very clean. Breakfast not as good as other best westerns we have stayed with. Would we stay here again most likely not, now we have an idea of the area.

The occasion was not the best, but the hotel was a great option. I was able to get a King bed. It was clean, modern and surprising. Usually, the hotels that are not the biggest, are the worst. I was pleasantly surprised.

Very lovely front desk staff Kevita, she checked my sister and I in very quickly and recommended places to go in NY and how to get there. She also called up to the room to make sure everything was OK, which I think was so sweet!! The room was very clean and bathroom as well but we didnt get to try breakfast as our flight was at 8.15am the next morning.Thank you Kevita. I'll definitely be coming back to stay here again.

WE have stayed here before. It's a great hotel just minutes from JFK. Ideal if you've got a very early flight. Plenty of free car parking on site. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great rooms with very comfortable large beds. Didn't get to try the breakfast or the gym because of our early departure. Will return again.

Best Western JFK Airport Hotel was very accommodating. There was a very timely pick up shuttle from the airport and also a convenient return shuttle. The room was comfortable and clean. We were here due to an overnight flight and this location was so convenient. The staff were very professional and helpful. The breakfast was great with the most customer friendly staff anywhere. Highly recommend.

The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast offered in the morning was very good and they opened early to accommodate a few of us that had to leave early. The place was clean and close to the airport. We were staying over night so we could catch our flight home in the morning to Atlanta.

Really enjoyed our overnight after flying for 15 hours. Great rest and refuel before we had to fly the last 7 hours home. Great service and staff! Besides receiving the best western Rewards snack pack we've ever received as a rewards member, and our first towel animal ever at a hotel, we were greater daily with a big welcome and happy faces. I asked one of the hotel maids if they were given happy pills. She said no, but being happy was good for her at work, and if she could start customers off on a better day, everyone would have a great day. The breakfast buffet staff was amazing too. They volunteered to bring drinks to our table, yogurt, one helped me slice and toast the bagel while I got my eggs. On Friday Feroza brought me yogurt and when taking away the empty container asked if she could bring me another peach yogurt. Convenient pick up from airport air train. No place to eat dinner nearby so be sure to eat dinner first or bring something with you. Limited parking even though decent sized lot shared by three hotels. But that would depend on number of guests with cars. Parking was free which is great for NY.

Traveling from the Philippines was a 21 hour leg. We arrived in jfk (after the taxi welcome) and went to the property. We arrived late at night and found Jamal who attended to us very accommodating and friendly. It was a great welcome. The hotel is basic and clean. We had a good break from the flight and ready to begin our holiday!

Good location for an early flight from JFK or arriving late at night. Free parking is provided for your car. A shuttle provides transportation to and from the airport. The size of the room is adequate. Free WiFi available. Also, breakfast is included. We left before the dining room was open, but were given a bag breakfast to go. We experienced no noise issues. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Absolutely nothing great about the place: small rooms, low water pressure, and tight parking. However, there was security in the parking lot, a free breakfast, and a shuttle to the airport. Avoid the stay, park and fly issue. It's not really worth the extra price.

"Perfect for the genre "

Let's be honest, what you want from an inexpensive airport hotel is EFFICIENCY and CLEANLINESS. This hotel does both. The airport shuttle was timely in both directions. Checkin and checkout was fast. The room? Tiny, cheap amenities, but very clean! What's not to like about that? You could easily spend hundreds of dollars more for better shampoo in the bathroom, but if you are just looking for a place to crash between flights, Best Western was great.

Clean property, super helpful and nice staff. Free breakfast was delicious. Noise was a bit loud as walls are pretty thin and we were next to the laundry room so could hear and feel the thumping of the dryer. Wish there would have been restaurants within walking distance but there were many places that offered free delivery. Overall, decent place to stay on the way to the airport.

I revisited Best Western JFK Airport Hotel because I had a good experience when I first stayed at this hotel. I found a good deal with low price and reserved room right away without any hesitation. We went there on some business the rooms were clean, nothing special. The staff was nice, the only problem was check in. When the room was booked on their 1800 number we asked for an early check in. Since the person that booked the room is a returning customer of multiple occasions she was told it's not a problem however when we got there we were told no, then we would have to wait a few minutes but we could only get one room for now. Ok that was fine. The continental breakfast was nice.

I came here middle of the night after badly messing up my flights. Had the Westin to go to next day but did not want to spend 8 hours at JFK airport. Did an instant booking of the Best Western and was not disappointed. Best thing was the shuttle which from memory I had to take from one station away from the JFK subway line, landed me straight to the hotel with no charge. The breakfast was ok not special and the rooms for good for one night. AC was strong which I appreciated. To summarize, good value, short stay, reasonably close to Airport (not right next to it) and free average breakfast. Go for it

I was stuck in New York overnight, and I had a nice stay at the Best Western. All of the staff members I spoke with were very friendly and professional, and my room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast is decent, and Ferozia, the waitress, was friendly and very attentive. I was frustrated being stranded overnight, but getting a good night's sleep definitely helped.

Three of us had an unplanned layover at JFK at 1 in the morning and needed a place to stay. Best Western JFK Airport/Jamaica, NY met our needs on several fronts: They answered their phone, provided quick answers, had a functioning shuttle service, provided a light breakfast in the morning. The room was small and average. The beds were comfortable. I have no issues with this facility and in fact think they met our needs perfectly, except for no extra rollaway. All opinions are my own. I have no affiliation with this establishment.

This hotel never claimed to be luxury or anything other than what it is. A very convenient, clean place to stay if you have a layover at JFK. The shuttle back and forth to airport was great. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. And the woman working the breakfast room was exceptional. We will stay anytime we have a layover.

The fruit in the morning was a nice touch. If you just need a place to crash for your flight this will do. The soap in the bath was economy brand. Air conditioning worked well. Staff was not friendly but they were efficient.

To begin with, this hotel is located right next to where the trash trucks are parked. We arrived thinking that we could leave our car for the weekend and catch a shuttle to JFK. After seeing the area, no way! When we checked in, we asked for a quiet room. When we went to our room, the window was wide open, no screen on the window, curtains blowing and it was drizzling rain! The pillows on the bed were all throw pillows, 12"x12". I went to the front desk and ask for larger pillows but was told that was their standard size. At midnight a family checked in next door to us. For the next hour, their kids ran up and down the hall, slammed the door, and yelled. At 1:30, the father was heard spanking one child while the child was crying. This was a disaster!

Had a night layover at JFK and went w/my old standby of Best Western, this was not a good choice this time. Usually BW works out fine for us but just not here. The front desk was o.k. at check in but brain dead at check out. The handful of menus that delivered food was terrible at best. We picked pizza and threw it out. Don't stay here, pick another chain.

Parking really is limited at this hotel. We arrived around 10:30pm and there were no parking places available. We parked on the street. Good front desk service, friendly. A fine place to spend the night before a flight. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable.

Have stayed at Best Western JFK before while traveling on many trips. Good transfers and currently has onsite parking. This was not the case when I first stayed here several years ago. Close to airport and good shuttle service. No, neighborhood is not fancy but rather industrial and rooms are clean, but basic. But a cookie and popcorn when we arrived late was very nice ! Stayed overnight prior to trip to Europe. Front desk staff was very helpful. Some of the shuttle drivers were friendly others were not. The hotel held our bags for us which was nice. Liked the breakfast. Lady monitoring the breakfast room was really kind and helpful. My negatives concerning the hotel are there is very little soundproofing for the door to halls or the window. We faced the street and there was noise all night long. The maids came by in the morning and you could hear them and their music quite well. The hotel is near the sanitation departments garage (several parked garbage trucks). I didn't catch any whiffs, but it was the weekend in the winter.

This hotel was poor. The room smelt and was dirty. The TV was rubbish. But most importantly, the shuttle bus service was totally inadequate. If you guys at the hotel read this, please hire some staff to drive the shuttle bus that can at least converse in English. Once an hour is simply nowhere near enough. We have been to both higher end and more value oriented hotels at JFK here in our travels. There are a couple of hotels here on the value end at JFK that appeal to us but this review is about Best Western. Honestly I attend to the price comparison to choose. One has a wonderful family running the business and they understand service and are motivated to provide it. It may be that this hotel, Best Western, is a family business also but the gem here is, and I'm gonna name names, Ferozia.. Ok! We go to breakfast and this pleasant lady greets us and, get this, makes the waffle in that waffle machine for my wife. I, for one, had not experienced that before. But she was, for all of our time in the breakfast area, ever present picking up used plates, offering her services and always with a smile. This gal is what you dream of having on your service team. Joie de vivre and she's sharing with you! We've been to scores of hotels and this was unique for us at least. Say hello, smile, and she'll share the love! The thing about choosing value versus higher end(we did both) is the risks are greater at the higher end. We were disappointed at one higher end we went to. Having said that the general higher hotel "look" was more pleasant but they made numerous errors reflecting a disconnect with who they're serving and didn't appear to really care: we were a number. The value guys were clearly more connected with us. For what the hotel does in its sphere it's actually excellent. But it's not a higher tier experience: thus, the "very good" rating. So one chooses here between an excellent dollar value experience OR are you oriented to a higher end "plant" experience? That's an individual choice!

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for an early morning flight. This turned out to be a good choice. It's close to the airport (but keep your rental car for convenience, since the shuttle bus goes only every hour and likely is full) and the rooms are clean. Nothing fancy but good for a night. There is a restaurant for a quick dinner a short drive away, but you might be better off to have dinner before you check in. Check-in was easy and quick. Recommended!

Very inexpensive choice for a night layover at JFK, and you get what you pay for. Bus to/from airport runs hourly - be prepared for a wait. Check in friendly and efficient. Place was run down, and smelt of old takeaways. Room clean, but tired. Noisy, thin walls letting you get every word and suitcase squeak from the stream of guests arriving till midnight and leaving from 4am. Not a restful place!

Good standard hotel, got a good price through Expedia, but the reservations were mixed up. Initially I booked 2 rooms, then called BW 1-800 number to cancel one - and was told there was only 1 room booked with wrong number of people! Called expedia, they confirmed 2 rooms booked and cancelled one. Got to the BW hotel, they said 2 rooms were still booked, no cancellation! Luckily they listened to my story and allowed me o cancel the extra room on arrival.

My wife and I were weary after a long day in transit, and we were very happy to arrive at the Best Western JFK. The staff were very friendly and helped us out with everything we needed. We had a 13 hour layover coming in from Trinidad and Tobago, we stayed at the Best Western in New York City JFK Airport. The free shuttle from the airport arrived quickly a short 7 minute wait, any longer and we would have froze! No bed, where ever you stay is like home, but this bed came close to it, we climbed into bed after checking in, and don't remember anything after that. We woke up kind of late for breakfast the next morning, but the person serving breakfast brought us what ever we wanted, she deserves a big warm thank you! Check out was fast and easy, and the free shuttle back to the airport was door to door, this was a great hotel, enough said!

Room not very large but very comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom. Road noise until late evening but then quiet. Stayed overnight before flying early in morning. The free breakfast and shuttle bus made this hotel an obvious choice. I would definitely stay again.

I stayed here overnight in February before an early flight. The hotel, shuttle bus and free breakfast all make this a good choice if you want to avoid a super-early journey to the airport and it made my journey easier. The room was not brilliantly clean - sticky nightstand, dirty carpets. But the bed and the bathroom were fine. The wifi didn't work (tried on several devices) but not really a big deal for such a short stay. There are big signs at reception asking 'Are we a 10/10?'... I'd say probably not..but I'd likely return in a pinch.

I came for a business trip from India. the hotel is located very near to JFK airport. The hotel iis decent and well maintained. The most striking feature of the hotel is the staff at reception are very courteous and I would say this is a big plus of the hotel. There is a small but compact Gym too. The resturant serves breakfast and the lady arranging the breakfast is too good and courteous. I also found each one of their staff are very well behaved and it gives a very warmth feeling. I would always come and stay in this hotel whenever I visit NewYork .

Nice room, good breakfast. Needed to ride the airtrain to FEDERAL CIRCLE for shuttle pickup, called the front desk and he wasn't sure about where to meet the shuttle at the airport. Seems the airport wants you far away from the boarding area and need signs to direct people that don't know their way around. Would stay there again.

When you need to stay overnight at JFK Airport, the Best Western is reasonably priced, clean, comfortable, has 24 hr. van service to airport, and friendly staff at the front desk, the breakfast server, Feroza, and even the maintenance person who helped me get "online". I made a silly mistake on my booking through a third party website and was unable to make changes to the reservation. I contacted the hotel and spoke with Avinash and he was extremely pleasant immediately took care of my mistake. I have not even stayed there yet and I am impressed with the level of service. The hotel is close enough to JFK and there is a free shuttle service which is very handy if you have late or early connecting flights. The Breakfast is great even have blueberry waffles. The rooms are clean and staff are friendly, I would recommend this if you are on a time constraint.

Lay over stay before our next flight. Little bit out but cab sorted that out. Hotel room and bathroom was clean and spacious. Toiletries were available and more on request. Very friendly staff. Hotel is no where near food places or store so you need to order takeaway which is free delivery. Complimentary tea, coffee and juice available.

I just needed somewhere to stay during an overnight wait for a connecting flight. There was a shuttle bus running regularly from the airport to the hotel and back, so this was a very convenient place to stay. Some imperfections in the room but it wasn't an issue at this price. It was clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Free wifi in the room with a strong signal and decent speeds for general web browsing. Good experience.

Fair prlce with great free breakfast ever. Clean room but small space, good enough for one guest. Airport shuttle is convenient and fast. It's better if there's more time slots for hotel pick ups. One issue is the noise on the hallway can easily be heard.

Placed very close to JFK, with round the clock hourly free shuttle to and fro from JFK. Good breakfast and comfortable room. We reached at 7 am and the check in time was 3 pm but lady at reception gave us room within half an hour our arrival

I only stayed in this motel for a few hours as I was transiting. It's advertised (as are many others) as JFK airport but there are no actual hotels/motels at the airport, which I didn't realise. I had to get a taxi there and got the free shuttle back the next day. It was clean but I wouldn't recommend it for more than an overnight stay. It isn't in a nice area and was pretty basic.

I booked this hotel for its convenience to JFK airport (and free shuttle) during a layover. All of the hotel shuttles are located together adjacent to JFK, and the area was easy to find. The wait for a shuttle was short, as was the drive to the hotel (5 minutes drive). About a half-dozen parties were on the shuttle and checking into the hotel. The single front desk clerk was efficient and thorough, providing each party with information about wifi/breakfast/other amenities, as well as food delivery menus (a godsend!). She was friendly and attentive and made short work of the shuttle crowd. The room was fairly small, very clean and brightly lit. The queen bed was comfortable. Standard amenities were provided in the bathroom. A towel swan had been created for us in the bathroom when we checked in! Hot water was plentiful and water pressure strong. I have never heard a louder bathroom exhaust fan; it rather resembled a diesel engine. Some noise could be heard during the night, both from the hallway and from the street. The property would benefit from dual-glazed windows and other soundproofing. Staff members were uniformly cheerful; the front desk clerk, shuttle drivers, housekeeping staff, and breakfast attendant were all vested in our welfare. Ana at breakfast was a particular standout, asking patrons if they needed anything, offering beverages, clearing items from tables and other touches that went above and beyond her duties. What's for breakfast? I'm glad you asked! Hot food included make-your-own waffles (plain and blueberry batter), round scrambled egg "patties", sausage patties, O'Brien potatoes, and a variety of oatmeal packets. Four types of cereal, two flavors of yogurt, and fresh apples/oranges/bananas were also provided. Bread products included bagels, English muffins, bread, croissants, muffins and pastries, along with accompaniments, including Nutella. Coffee, tea (including Tazo varieties), hot chocolate packets, and orange, apple, and cranberry juices were also provided. Seating was plentiful In the breakfast area, which also included a computer/printer and an ATM. The fitness center was a bit of a disappointment. The small room held one recumbent bike, one elliptical, and one treadmill. There was also a rack of hand weights (with a good range of weights) but no weight bench and little room on the floor to stretch or exercise. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

"Much more than Expected"

Arrive in the evening of 8 Jan not expecting very much from this airport hotel however the very warm welcome given by the girl at the front desk was amazing, the hotel has no evening dinning but she handed us a load of local take away leaflets, we were able to call and order a great selection to choose from, clean comfortable rooms and a great breakfast, fresh waffles and a very nice buffet, our breakfast was made extra special by the lovely lady Anna who was the breakfast assistant she was super helpful and efficient really nice to see someone so cheerful and helpful in the morning she really made our stay a memorable one.

Stayed for 2 nights on a stop over. The hotel staff are really friendly and happy to help and the room was much better than I expected! Comfortable, clean, nice bed - perfect for a 2 night stay! All I will say is there is not a lot to do in the area if you have a day to kill but the Internet speeds mean that you can get work etc done without a problem! Breakfast was pretty good and even if you're checking out early they still give you a little something to eat! It seems like they really do care about the customer! Would definitely stay here again and would recommend!

A mark of a good airport hotel is its convenience and it surely didn't hit the mark here. An airport shuttle that runs once an hour just does not work. Other hotels have more frequent shuttles. Only stayed here due to loyalty status with Best Western. I will consider dropping it after this. Having said that rooms are decent and no complaints there. The complimentary breakfast is quite basic and is open quite early.

They are remodeling so some of the rooms are newly done and very nice. The breakfast is fine, not a big selection of hot foods but still nice. The shuttle service is very convenient and runs on time. The wifi signal could be stronger but still adequate.

I spent a night here before going to JFK Airport on January 2015. I used my loyalty program for this stay, and the service was excellent. I was spending some days at Orlando-Kissimmee and I ordered a few online shopping, I called them and they said, no worries, we will keep them safe for you on your arrival! They include hot breakfast, and other stuff, they allow dinner delivery.

I have made only a few trips to NYC. On this occasion I was picking up my daughter from the airport. Since it was near Christmas the in town Hotels had raised prices hundreds of dollars where this Best Western had not. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. A very nice and clean establishment. The staff and management went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Free breakfast in the morning and free coffee during the day. The downside was you needed to commute to the city but they had a shuttle to Fereral Circle that ran around the clock and we never waited more than a few minutes. I highly recommend it

This is a fine hotel for taking a flight the next morning. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and updated. The free shuttle to the airport was prompt. If you take public transportation to get there, you'll need to walk a little ways so it would be best to arrive in daylight. The free breakfast was convenient and adequate to get you started for the day.

I was surprised to find such a clean and cozy hotel for such an affordable price in a place like NY. The staff seemed very helpful and polite. The room in general looked trim, the bed sheets had a nice laundry smell, and the bathtub was actually white and sleek (which I had never completely experienced in other common hotels.) It might not be as close to the main city, if that's what you're looking for, but transportation should definitely not be an issue, since it has a great shuttle service that takes you to the main stations as well as the airport. I'd recommend this place to anyone, and I'd surely stay there again whenever I visit NY.

We stayed here again for two days. The staff was very courteous. Staff was very helpful. Complementary breakfast was good. It served our purpose well in our budget - to rest for a day or two before taking further journey. A girl Kavita arranged a tour operator for us to see all important places in Manhattan. Pick up and drop from the hotel. Overall a very satisfactory experience for the money spent.

Good, comfortable hotel near JFK airport. Hotel arranges transfers to airport and there is also a complimentary breakfast. However if you want anything to eat in the evening you need to arrange a carry-out or alternatively there is a shop about 10 minute walk from the hotel.

very good choice for short term comfortable budget stay close to the airport. Helpful staff. A girl named Kavita was very pleasant and helpful, she informed us about the tour to Manhattan. We were planning to take the taxi which would have been more expensive perhaps. Overall a nice stay close to JFK airport for short budget trip.

"VERY GOOD OPTION"

Excellent option if you have an overnight transit thru JFK airport. We had a last minute change in our multi flight plan, so we had to spend 1 night at JFK apt. We chose directly from the web and this seemed to be the best offer at reasonable price (we paid 130 US all incl taxes for 4 people). We are happy of this hotel, that has NO restaurant but offers FREE wifi and breakfast. Anyway we had dinner in the breakfast area thru the many free delivery restaurant options in the area. They have a FREE SHUTTLE BUS every 30 min, you have to call them free of charge at the HOTEL KIOSK area on the AirTran connection. The staff was ABSOLUTELY nice and friendly, very helpful and patient (we were travelling 6, with 2 kids 2 and 4 yrs, very tired and hungry). The rooms are big and overall clean, the beds are very comfy and free from the JFK noise. We had a great sleep. On our way back to JFK, the FREE SHUTTLE BUS left us DIRECTLY at the airport. We recommend this hotel if you have to stay in JFK area for a quick overnight.

"Clean, neat with friendly staff"

Clean, nice furniture, comfortable bed, good television and internet. Towels, blankets, and pillows ridiculously small. The breakfast was very good, much better than anticipated. Would not hesitate to use it again if necessary, but they should improve the bedding and towels.

This is a convenient and very clean airport hotel. The hotel staff at the front desk was extremely friendly and very helpful with our late check in. Front desk staff helped acquire transport to the airport via taxi. The shuttle only runs every hour on the half hour.

This hotel is acceptable for 1 night only - rooms are dated and need refurbishing, bathrooms same. Breakfast is the worst I've ever seen - no cheese, no ham, no fruits, no vegetables. Quality of products is poor. There is a shuttle bus going to terminals, but only every hour (half past every hour).

"Convenient for one night"

I was travelling alone and arriving into JFK late at night so decided an airport hotel was my best bet for the first night. The airport shuttle was great and I was very lucky that it arrived just as I did. Check in and out very smooth and quick. The hotel itself I feel is a little tired and dated. My room was clean and comfortable, however it was quite noisy and sounded like the window was open when it wasn't. The towels were all ridiculously small for some reason. Spa bath was a nice feature although when I first ran the water it came through slightly brown! Breakfast I felt was a little disappointing with very few hot options but again very convenient. Location for the airport is great and free shuttle bus a big bonus for me.

The location (near JFK) was the primary reason I booked the hotel. The room was small for the two beds, but comfortable, overall. The staff at the front desk and at the breakfast bar were very helpful and very cheerful. They were the best part of the stay!

My experience with the staff and the Best Western hotel were more than I could have asked for. The hotel was clean, staff were willing to accommodate any request and were very helpful in organizing or providing information to get me to where I needed to go. Hotel is very well kept. The rooms, the grounds and the breakfast area were spotless. Very comfortable bed that was appreciated after a long over seas flight. Very efficient shuttle service to the airport. All employees including the manager Lawrence were very helpful. Breakfast was hot and very good and included more that the usual continental fare. Scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns plus the usual goodies. Kudos to the breakfast lady who kept everything hot and fresh. This was such a great find I really hesitate to say too much it in case it gets too popular. Parking was free too (don't pass it on)! This was a GREAT find for an airport stay!!

For a quick overnight stay in NY this hotel is heavily recommended...extremely close to JFK...nothing fancy...basic rooms, solid wifi, free basic breakfast...helpful staff and 24h shuttle service to JFK...they even offer pop corn at night to guests...small things can make a difference

I landed in JFK at midnight and didnt fancy a trip into manhattan in the middle of the night. This hotel fitted the bill perfectly with a free shuttle service from the Airtrain, so it doesn't take long to get there. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and beds are sort of ok. Pillows are not my liking though. Breakfast is there, but its not a culinary experience so if you are on your way to somewhere eat on the way.

This hotel was convenient to JFK, having a free 24 hour shuttle made getting to and from the airport really easy. The staff was friendly and made check-in and check out easy. The woman tending to the breakfast area was pleasant and really helpful with getting food and drink refills.

"Great Hotel for StopOvers"

This hotel is in Jamaica NY - close to the JFK Airport. While it is not near landmarks, shopping or restaurants - it is a great place for an overnight (or two) where you get a comfortable room (small, but sufficient - as in any NYC hotel). The room is immaculate, the bed is oh, so comfortable - and the staff is great. There is coffee/tea available 24 hours and there is a hot breakfast. There is shuttle from the airport to hotel and vice-versa. We were taking a cruise out of Brooklyn and it was a great place for us to stay overnight before the cruise.

"Best service ever"

Every staff member at this hotel understands customer service. After 18 hours of travel, this hotel was a welcome respite. The room was spotless and well appointed. I was very sick on our arrival and they agreed to let us stay in the room the next day until our flight. The helped us meet another guest who was going to a pharmacy to bring back needed medication. When we were taking our luggage downstairs, one of the staff members was on their way to another floor but took the time to help us with our luggage. The staff member in the breakfast room was attentive and more than helpful. Both people at the check-in desk were helpful and friendly. When at JFK airport, I will always stay here. Thanks to everyone for helping us through a stressful time.

We stayed at the hotel in late October while visiting family in Long Island. We were driving a 29 ft RV, which can be a challenge in NYC. The staff were outstanding, watching the RV to make sure it was safe as well as helping us find our way around NY--truly a great team of people! Our only complaint was that the gym was tiny and the equipment was not in good working condition. Otherwise, a pleasant surprise for a stay at JFK.

We chose this hotel for a single night stay near the airport due to an early morning flight. Front desk staff at check-in was friendly and efficient. Property is well maintained and has lots of amenities for an airport hotel. No restaurant but they offered to shuttle us to one nearby which was nice. The guest room smelled clean and looked clean when entering but found it to have multiple stains on the carpet and drapes that looked suspiciously "biological". It was late and we needed sleep so didn't report it. Breakfast was good, above expectations. The free shuttle to the airport is a great perk but be careful as they don't really manage it well and you may be stuck without space on the shuttle. We had to ask for another shuttle when it looked like there wouldn't be enough room on the one they had show up. Since they asked us if we needed a shuttle the night before, it would have made sense to track how many might have needed it (if they asked everyone) and to be prepared for that. They were missing room for 4-5 people, including us even though we were down in the lobby very early and ready to go.

Needed a quiet place to stop on our journey to Scotland, and wanted to visit the 9-11 memorial, and museum, before our long flight to Europe. It was perfect in that it had 24 hour shuttle service for pickup and to the connection for the train to the subway system, which was our number one requirement Staff was excellent, making it easy to check in and get organized, they even had help with the luggage if needed, which we did. Lawrence Hou, the GM does a good job with his staff in a very tight environment, meaning the lobby and interior is small. The room was good, it was quiet, away from the main freeways, and no airport noise, which was also a priority. Breakfast standard, room cost reasonable. It is a good place for what we needed and we were satisfied with the stay.

The hotel is situatated close to JFK International and is ideally locatated within 6-10 minutes of airport. It is clean and the staff is polite and accommodating in taking care of client needs. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfie. Well supplied with traveler needs and free wifi. A great full morning breakfast is served in a nice and clean dining area. Shuttle bus is punctual and the drivers friendly and polite with drop-off's to all terminals.

Hotel was chosen because of proximity to JFK, the huge fact that there was a shuttle bus to and from the airport and I have a rewards card and usually stay in Best Western worldwide. The actual location of the hotel came as a bit of a shock as the website pictures do not show the surroundings. But of course never judge a book by it's cover. Staff very helpful and the tour they organised of New York was very good.

The room rates, free parking, internet, shuttle, breakfast (eggs, potatoes, meat, etc.) and close proximity to JFK airport, Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island and mass transit and highways make this hotel a good option. The bed was comfortable. Not too hard not to soft. Many (5) pillows. Only thing is that a few of the channels on the TV were fuzzy and there weren't a whole lot of them. Enought to get me the news, current events and shows to put me to sleep. And the water pressure was low, the toilet kind of ran every now and then and 1/2 of the washcloths for my stay were useful for exfoliating my skin. LOL. The positives out weigh the negatives.

The hotel was nice and comfortable for us. We were a family of 4. I do think the pictures of the rooms need to match up more accurately. Our room was much smaller than advertised. If it's a standard size room, please show a picture of a standard size room not a suite or a deluxe room. Breakfast lady/assistant was so nice and sweet...great customer service and help. Everyone was pretty nice. The night housekeeper help wasn't the friendliest though. It seemed as if we inconvenienced him if we requested anything, even trying to make conversation with him, he didn't respond. Not bad though. ..cant expect everyone to be a people's person I guess. The hotel shuttle schedule is great. We're not from a very big city like Jamaica Queens so at first the hotel's location seemed sort of questionable but we never had to walk since we always caught an air train to subways as our transportation mode. If we had to walk this area, we definitely would've never walked it at night but that's just us because we're from a very different area.

After a horrible stay here, we got an email from the General Manager Lawrence Hou which stated in part: "we are excited that the hotel met your expectations", and he encouraged me to write a review on Trip Advisor.....so I did! Here is my reply to the manager. My wife received your email below and we have to tell you, we would NEVER recommend your hotel. I'm not sure why you say you are "excited that our hotel met your expectations" when no one even asked us how our stay was. It's pretty presumptuous of you to assume we had a nice stay. Let me tell you about our stay: 1.) when we checked in around 11pm last night there was an ambulance in front of the hotel taking out an elderly woman who more than likely "lives" in your hotel and is not just an overnight guest. She was rambling and all alone, so she must either know someone there, or your security is horrible. 2.) your staff put us in room 209 which is right by the ice machine and people were getting ice all night long and it sounded like they were in our room. We were unable to sleep at all. 3.) about 5:00 AM our room was flooded by cigarette smoke that was coming from your employees that were standing right below our window. My wife and I are both very allergic to smoke and that room was in NO WAY a non- smoking room when it's right above the "smoking area" for your employees. 4.) if it wasn't the ice machine or the cigarette smoke, then it was the crying child in the room next to us where probably at least 6 people were staying. 5.) when we took our showers in the morning, trying to get some relief after a restless and sleepless night, the towels we were provided with were slightly smaller than our bath mat. They wouldn't even wrap around us (and we are just normal average sized people!) So to say we were "excited" is simply ludicrous. I am actually ashamed for you that you call yourself a Best Western with standards that low.

My friend and I needed an inexpensive hotel near the airport for one night and this hotel was perfect!! We were on an early morning fight in and they allowed us to check in early with no problem ! ! They even told us to go enjoy ourselves at the breakfast bar while we waited for the room!! The shuttle driver was also great!! I will be returning when in NY and need a hotel near the airport!!

"Close to JFK with Free Shuttle"

The hotel is very close to JFK. We opted to leave Manhattan and stay at JFK because of an early morning flight. The shuttle runs every hour on the half hour. It is prompt. The room was very small. It was very clean. We were only there 9 hours to sleep. Used my ear plugs, so the highway noise did not keep me awake. The breakfast is available at 5:00am. There is a huge variety of food.

Stayed one night for flight connection ex JFK back to Australia. Wifi and breakfast provided. smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Situated very close to airport with a free shuttle service every 1/2 hour to JFK all terminals. Right next to a garbage truck depot so would not be at all suitable for more than a transit stay.

This is a basic functional travellers overnight stop, with mostly do-it-yourself facilities . It is as convenient for JFK airport as any hotel, but still > 2 miles from the terminals - not walkable. There is a free shuttle bus but it only runs hourly on the half hour. It is clean, the plumbing works and they supply a basic breakfast 5-9 am. For what you get it seemed a bit pricey to me, but near airports all hotel screw the market.

Do not stay here if your life depends on it. Horrible place. Pros: they offer breakfast, you get a bed, you will get a free day old cookie upon check-in. Cons: In worst possible area. If you come after breakfast, there is no where safe to grab a bite--you will need to buy from a vending machine or call for delivery to eat in your small and depressing room. Even the cab drivers have a difficult time finding this place. This is the kind of place, where you may get asked your room number as you're trying to ride up the 4 floor elevator. Hide! The bathroom had a lingering urine smell eventhough it looked clean. I do not believe this is a safe place for females. Try another area. This is next to the Holiday Inn and Days Inn. Ugh!

Dear cheryl d, We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet any of your expectations. The building next door is only a holding area for the trucks. Nothing is disposed in the facility. We provide every measure of security for our guest at the Best Western. The hotel is located in the airport vicinity so there is not much to offer in terms of dining that is walkable.
