"Great place to stay"
Linda D, 02 Octobre 2018

Really loved our visit to Jacó beach and this hotel was really great. Good food in the restaurant, nice, very comfortable rooms, very friendly personnel. Beautiful grounds and beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Best Western Visit"
tomonroe, 22 Septembre 2018

Had a 6 day visit to the Best Western Jack. You are right on the beach the resort was very clean and neat.Staff was excellent, friendly with great service.Only knock, early in the week food at the restaurant could have been more diverse, got a little boring near the end of my stay. Need more brands of liquor also.

"Poor food and too much noise."
CarolinaSH74, 21 Septembre 2018

We had a 5 day reservation. We arrived at 1:30 & we're grateful that our room was ready early however they would not let us eat until 3 o'clock. We had to wait at check in line 2nd to get a wrist bands to eat. Why they made us wait to a buffet which was full of food that I've been sitting out for hours is beyond my comprehension. During dinner they had the tv on the first level playing so loud it ruined our quiet dinner. We went to the front desk to complain about the cartoon playing so loudly. On my second day I was very very sick from something I at either at lunch or dinner. On my 3rd I left and went to another hotel for two nights. On my last night I came back to the hotel and they played boom boom music till 1:30 am. I had to get up at 3:45 am to make my flight home.

"Great, but can be improved!"
fmoracr, 18 Septembre 2018

My trip was on room 305 from Sept 14 through 17, 2018. The best thing about this hotel is how nice and acomodating the staff is. The food has good variety and it was balanced in general. Drinks were great, and shots werent from generic liquor, but branded which is a big deal for me. The garden is well groomed The hotel buildings are evidently old, but you can tell it receives good maintenance, the rooms are clean and recently painted, we experienced no issues with the A/C, water, towels and other ameninties. Wifi has great coverage I was able to get signal up to the edges of the property, while the speed is mid-range in my opinion I was pleased to notice I never lost connectivity and it had no anoying login screens. There are things that you could do better though, for example there was to my suprprise no ceviche on the menu :( this is a must for me. The pool area receives a lot of sun and I think everyone would benefit if you install umbrellas where the beach beds are, since people wake up very early and reserve the few that have some shade. I also suggest to leave a few water bottles in the guest rooms daily , this would go a long way in improving experience.

"Overall great location by the beach"
travelingtheworld, 27 Juillet 2018

Location location location. That's what you get with this hotel. The staff was friendly. The room was nice. The main drawback was the limited food selections. Seems they rotated the menu during the week I stayed, using similar meals each day. For an all inclusive was expecting better food selection, especially seafood being on the coast. Why no seafood???

"Fishing trip"
Frank M, 09 Juillet 2018

Beautiful place with great beach and great surfing. The people are friendly and most of the food is good! The best restaurant in town is Lemon Zest with real pizza downstairs. Poseidon hotel restaurant has great tuna and ribs.

"You get what you pay for"
Stevie C, 05 Juillet 2018

My husband insisted on a all-inclusive beach resort at the beginning of our honeymoon and we thought this would be a good option before our pricier resort up in the mountains. While we weren't expecting luxury by any means, we were a little disappointed by the accommodations. Our door was difficult to open (you apparently had to raise the handle before pulling it down), the air conditioning could barely get the room to a bearable temp (my husband actually slept horizontally at the foot of the bed b/c it was close to the vent), and the bathroom was pretty dingy. Despite being told multiple times that every room was the same and it was not possible to upgrade, we saw several rooms that had balconies and much stronger AC (as evidenced by the condensation on the windows). The food was just okay - enough options so that we had something to eat, but nothing that got us excited. The pool area was crowded and a lot of guests left food trash there, so we stayed clear and mostly stuck to the beach (which was spectacular). If you just need a home base for enjoying the beach and exploring Jaco - this could work, but it definitely doesn't hold a candle to most other all-inclusives. We would have rather spend a little more money for a much better experience.

"A piece of costa rica at our fingertips"
Lori C, 19 Juin 2018

We were so pleased with our visit. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Very clean and well cared for. Food was good but wished for more variety in evenings. So relaxing and community easy going. Great activities for children and secure. We would go again!

"Location, great value and wonderful staff"
DLBrown57, 08 Juin 2018

I have read several reviews that complain about the food and I will concede that the food at dinner can be hit or miss but they provide you with so many options you will certainly find something that you will enjoy. Breakfast is fantastic and most mornings I assembled a Costa Rican bowl of rice and beans with sausage, some sauce with peppers and onions with a fried egg on top; there are MANY more "American" options available as well as an egg/omelet bar. The staff here is fantastic, friendly, helpful, accommodating....we would go back just for the quality of staff alone. During the "off" season the bar close to the reception area is not open during the week but is lively on the weekends when many Tica families visit the resort. Normally we are not very happy about a place with lots of kids but the weekend addition of these families with their well behaved children actually added to our experience. Finally, the value was tough to beat. My husband and I plan to retire to CR one day and this is certainly a place that we would choose for a Jaco getaway.

"Great option for the price"
edmorales07, 06 Juin 2018

Staff is great and very friendly. Food is good but missing a little salt. The pool is about shoulder height (I like it deeper but my girlfriend liked it). My main complaint is regarding the deserts, most of the deserts needed to be kept refrigerated but they were not. If you went to get desert 30 minutes after it was brought out, it was completely melted and not appetizing.

"All-Inclusive Best Western"
Erik M, 30 Mai 2018

Most of us have been to a Best Western... Imagine that with endless drinks and food from 6:15AM to 9:30PM and a fantastic staff. In my opinion that sums up the whole resort. To make me happy all they need is coffee available at 5:00AM and it was, steaming hot. If you get it before 5:00AM it's just warm enough.

"Food very disappointing"
sharonpotzer, 27 Mai 2018

The room was comfortable, but the food was very disappointing. The bar near the registration counter was never open. The drinks were mediocre. The poolside bar food was poor. If the food had been better, the price would have been worth...as it was, a high price to pay for a smallish room.

"Wonderful visit"
mcilwainj, 27 Mai 2018

This resort was so beautiful, staff was very very friendly answered any questions we had, bartenders were awesome would even remember us, beach was beautiful and very relaxing, there is so much to do in Jaco as well as enjoying this resort. Key note do not miss out on tortuga island and definitely do the crocodile river tour!!! We missed out on a few things so we plan on going back next year!!!thank you Best Western Jaco Beach for a memory filled much needed vacation.

"Overall good stay"
Kenz T, 22 Mai 2018

This is not the most upgraded hotel but overall it was a good stay. The staff is welcoming and Heiner is the best bartender!! Try the Mai Tai's! He is awesome and was also very helpful! The food was not as good as I was expecting it to be but was ok. There is no bar close to the pool but it is in walking distance. The rooms were decent sizes and the maid service was very thorough when cleaning. The beach was a little disappointing since it was very hard to swim in the ocean and the sand is more like grass/dirt. Overall good stay. It was a good balance of price, location, amenities and service.

"Good, but serious flaws"
dabbey, 16 Mai 2018

The staff and accommodations were great. While water pressure was lacking and we only had scalding water, the staff took care to address our concerns immediately. Location was great, and the view was absolutely beautiful. The drink selection was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, the food did not taste good. I love Latin American food, but the buffet was absolutely bland and flavorless. Both wines served with dinner were disgusting, and even the breakfast omelettes were somehow lacking. The other huge area of concern is the noise of the activities. The music started blasting at 9pm from the pool, which all rooms face, for Zumba. It is impossible to sleep, much less think during that time because it is EXTREMELY loud. There were no other pool activities the rest of the day, so there is no reason Zumba couldn't occur at a more appropriate time. It was so bad we started waking up early so we could leave the resort before it began.

"Great place for a girls trip!"
Lunise B, 13 Mai 2018

Very basic hotel, but your can't be the price when you count for the food and drinks. Every single employee was nothing but gracious, kind and accommodating. The location was a short walk (or extremely short drive) down the road, and the beach is basically attached to the hotel!

"Best Western Jaco Beach"
Al L, 06 Mai 2018

Great overall experience, the location is pretty good, close to the main strip in Jaco (walking Distance), and the beach is pretty good as well, would be perfect for surfing. The hotel makes very good drinks (try their pina coladas), and the all inclusive meals are all pretty good, and there is always bar food available at the bar (Hamburgers, nachos, etc). Overall, I would totally stay here again, it is a good balance of price, location, amenities, and service. Also, totally a family safe environment, I stayed in the week, and it wasn't a crazy party atmosphere at all.

"Staff Are Remarkable"
Margaret195723, 28 Avril 2018

We are currently at the resort and have found the accommodation spotless. Our highest praise goes to the staff. Front desk staff, servers, cleaners, cooks, bartenders, life guards, etc. have all gone out of their way to answer questions, provide us with helpful information and have made us feel very welcome. We were stunned to see the recent negative review regarding staff as that reviewer would have stayed here when we're we at the resort. Trust us, the staff are amazing!

"Not very accommodating"
SPedder118, 25 Avril 2018

Maybe I expected more since I've stayed at other All-Inclusive Resorts, but this one was hardly what I call a "Resort." So little amenities and the front desk staff (except for one) gave us the feeling as though they all thought we were there to rip them off or something. We had to give our credit card to use the safe in our room!! I've never ever heard of that. No refrigerator in the room, no ice machine (we had to take our bucket to the restaurant to get it filled). Meals were all Buffet style (no menus) and it was totally mediocre. The front desk told us to say we are Gluten-Free (my husband is allergic to wheat), but when we mentioned it at the restaurant, no one really knew what to do/say. We are used to selecting GF dishes, so that was okay, but why even tell us to ask!! Went to one of the daily activity on the schedule, but no one showed nor sign saying it's cancelled. The only good is the location. Beach is basically right outside your door. Oh, and the rate went down $50 online for our second night, but of course, we didn't get ours reduced. Sorry, I don't recommend nor return here.

"Good hotel and great position"
Gillian M, 11 Avril 2018

On the way from the airport we stopped briefly at tarcoles to see the crocodiles from the bridge. In the 10 minutes we were there, our car was broken into and our belongings stolen including phones, credit cards and passports. We obviously arrived at the hotel in a bad state but they were incredibly helpful, allowing us full use of there free lobby phone to cancel all our cards, phones etc and to call the british embassy. The room itself was as expected, clean and comfortable.  The hotel lies directly on the beach and was a great location also a short walk into the busy town of Jaco. The food was a good quality and plentiful. There were a number of things we didn't like...The sunbeds were very basic and uncomfortable with no mats provided, the pool was crowded and noisy and the beach bar very poor. But it did offer value for money in a convenient location, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

"Great value for the price"
dpccook61, 10 Avril 2018

I stayed at the Best Western during spring break this past March. The facility was older than the pictures made it look but in very good shape and very clean. I was disappointed there was not a safe or mini fridge in the room but overall the room was very clean and comfortable. All the employees were very friendly and helpful at all times. Much credit must be given to the 3 who had the pool exercise class to music in the AM and music in the PM. I was particularly fond of 3 employees who I took a liking to and helped me every step of my stay. Any questions I had about where to go and what to do they were very helpful and most importantly very personable. i apologize if I dont spell their names correctly but I wanted to make sure they get the credit they deserve. Thanks again for a wonderful time 1. Rodrigo Vargas...Pool/waiter 2.Hisha Sandoval... Bartender 3. Javaroll....Bartender

"Best Western - Jaco Beach- not really the Best!"
skgmail, 07 Avril 2018

The resort does not give the best rooms to RCI clients even though the place was almost empty. It did not allow customers who did not buy the all inclusive packages to buy any alacarte food - which was a big loss of revenu for them - as we spend much more of the fine resturants nearby.

"Just As Great As Last Year"
Paula P, 04 Avril 2018

This was our second trip to The Best Western in Jaco. And we had just as much fun. I can't say enough about the staff. They really made our trip. They are all so friendly and engaging. Heinor and Frank are amazing. Dixon and Carlos, the security guards are so awesome too. I wish I could name all of the staff that made our trip so enjoyable. The food was excellent, always something a little different to try. The lunch down at the bar was great. I really enjoyed the music around the pool too. They had a DJ down at the beach bar in the evenings who was great. All in all, we had a great an amazing time.

"1 week in Jaco Beach BW"
MalcolmSmith2017, 27 Mars 2018

I recently visited this hotel for a week.It is a pleasant family hotel in a relatively quiet environment. The food was good and was adequate for me. It caters to families and as I was solo I found it too quiet and would go out in town every night after eating in the hotel The rooms are good ,clean ,and all the staff I dealt with were friendly and tried to be helpful. Security was very visible at the hotel which prevented any strangers gaining access from beach side or roadside. As I had checked into the hotel following a week in another hotel it was convenient to book transportation back to the airport in San Jose via the hotel switchboard. I was put in touch with Gray Line who provided a small bus and driver, which was both clean and punctual. The cost of my transport back to the airport was $143 while the cost of my transport when I arrived at Jaco from the airport, which had been arranged from the Copacobana hotel had been $115.So it is worth researching your options for transportation from/to the airport from the various resorts.

"Great trip to Jaco"
Carol H, 10 Mars 2018

Enjoyed the food and service at the Best Western. We arrived at 1:30 and told check in was at 3 pm. We were told it was $130 to use the facilities if we chose to check in one hour early. We decided to drive beside the hotel and use the beach and walk back in at 3 pm. Have stayed at other all inclusives in the Caribbean and are usually greeted with a drink and a smile, so was surprised to be asked for the $130. We left early five days later, don't know if we will be refunded $130 because we didn't stay until check out. The food was good, drinks were great and the service was wonderful. The noise until 1 am from the disco made it difficult to sleep. We rented surf boards on March 8th. While surfing my daughter and a local realized two tourists had been swept out by the rip tide. My daughter and the local grabbed the surf boards and swam out to save the tourists. Paramedics arrived and brought them to the hospital. Be careful to stay close to the shore. The hotel does caution swimmers on the beach. Would recommend the hotel. Many different healthy food options and wonderful staff.

"Good All Inclusive for the money"
LovesTheBeach250, 06 Mars 2018

This hotel although in need of some updates is clean, staff friendly, drinks great, food okay (lunch snack bar better than buffet most days). You can't really sit on the beach as it is public the minute you step off the hotels property. They do provide some loungers but the water is pretty far away and cars drive along the beach, that's okay we just stayed at pool. Only time it was crazy busy was on the weekend when it seemed like locals came to enjoy the hotel so very full and less enjoyable. The maid kept the room very clean, no lack of hot water and wifi worked well. Although Michael who worked at the pool didn't speak much English he was very nice and treated us well as well was the chef at the snack bar. It is not like other all inclusive hotels as they spoke mostly Spanish and even the aerobics etc didn't not instruct you in both Spanish and English. Overall our group had a good stay at this hotel.

"Wonderful stay"
Lkeith001, 04 Mars 2018

We stayed for 2 nights. All inclusive food and alcohol! Great pool and beach area. Loved playing in both! Food was not spectacular but adequate. Room was clean. Staff very friendly and helpful! Able to organize tour at hotel.- went to Manuel Antonio park Short walk into town but really no need as everything you need is at hotel. Loved it wish we stayed longer!

"Would not stay here again"
robwillsee, 04 Mars 2018

After a grueling 5 1/2 ride to this resort I was met at the front desk with one problem after another, First they had trouble finding my reservation, then they did not realize I had extended it for 2 days. Once they found it, they informed me I needed to pay. Mind you, I have all my paperwork, in front of them...and yet they keep insisting I had not paid! Not only had I paid, but paid 2 months prior, so it wasn't a problem with a recent booking. After all this hassle it is now 2 pm. Official check-in is at 3, because of this I was informed that I could not use any of the facilities, get anything to drink or eat until then. I just climbed off a shuttle, where most people do did not eat or drink, because of limited stops. Also, I have stayed at many, many all-inclusive resorts and not once have I ever had a resort bar people from getting something to refresh themselves upon arrival. What terrible customer relations! Most resorts would like to make a great first impression, but not this place, their only concerned is about saving a couple of dollars. So, again, a battle commences and finally a manager granted me permission to get some lunch and beverages. Now, for the food - lunch was so-so at the beach bar each day. Dinner upstairs was atrocious. Every night they served the same 4 meats and then various side dishes, which were poorly executed and for the most part inedible. Liquor choices were sub-par, not even sure they would be considered a well brand, but the draft cerveza was not bad. The sad thing is, the rooms are actually decent, not 5 star glamorous, but nice, Bed and pillows were comfortable. Nice bathroom, decent water pressure, nice consistent hot water. Wifi at the hotel was good and seemed to work over the entire property. The staff (minus front desk) were nice and worked hard. The bartenders were friendly and gave great service. The hotel grounds were well maintained! The hotel has the bones for a really nice, all-inclusive with a few tweaks. But as it stands now, I unfortunately can't recommend it for an all-inclusive stay.

"Nice property but watch for cockroaches"
michelbE1648CI, 02 Mars 2018

We arrived at the Best Western in Jaco around 9pm on March 1st, 2018 without a reservation. Because it is only an all-inclusive, my partner and I were charged USD240.00 for one room which I thought was high. It included dinner, breakfast and lunch though. Buffet dinner was ghastly, what they call beef was reconstituted meet, pasta sauce out of a can, with frozen shrimps, not much taste to anything, not even bread buns for dinner, plain bread slices! When in the room, I found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom, i called and they sent someone with a spray, one cockroach took hours to die on the bathroom floor. In the morning, my partner found a good size spider in the shower. We got rid of it. This should not happen for the price we paid. Furthermore, it sounds like Best Western is still using huge noisy American A/C units, instead of the sleek high mounted quiet oscillating units used for years throughout Latin America. I had to shut it off to sleep, but it got so hot I could not sleep anyway. It's a very nice property, lovely pool, sleek design, pleasant environment, friendly staff, next to the beach, but for the price we paid for that one night, we felt underwhelmed.

"Family Oriented Low Cost Resort"
MDU54, 28 Février 2018

Great price for an all inclusive. Room was very modest. AC unit did not cool room effectively. Not many English speaking stations on TV. Only one towel per person. Food was good with plentiful selection. My wife and I are in our sixties and the major complaint was the noise when the loud speakers were used for exercise or games. It was blasting like a rock band from the 70's. Our room number was 501 and faced the courtyard area where all the noise was. A room facing the away from the courtyard would be quieter. Good security for the premises. Strict no smoking policy. Have to go to the beach area to smoke a cigar.

"Another Day in Paradise"
Ozoner51, 25 Février 2018

I'll admit—this is my first stay at an all-inclusive resort! The Jaco Beach Best Western didn't disappoint, with a path to the Pacific Coast beach, a snack bar with cocktails and beer, lovely swimming pool, and fantastic buffet: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only minus was that a couple of our rooms had water leakage in the bathrooms that had to be addressed by the staff.

"GOOD FOR PRICE"
bobisfun, 29 Janvier 2018

This resort is great value with the all-inclusive drinks where good to very good and food was very Costa Rican which my wife and I really like and was always well prepared . We had a issue with noise the first night and they moved us in the morning to garden view room which was much better . Rooms on the pool front can be noisy from the disco from 10 pm to 1 am. This hotel is not for everyone but very good value for your dollar and is very clean and well cared for property with great staff .

"100% Recommended."
Didier F, 28 Janvier 2018

Our stay was really pleasant and we really enjoyed the awesome food, cool activities, great customer services. The rooms are really good (A/C is obsolete but it works), Facilities got everything you might needed and even, if you want to go for a walk in the beach or just see the sunset take pictures, relaxing etc.. this is a good place to be and spent time alone or even in family. So I just wanted say a BIG Thank you to you all BWJB All inclusive Resort!!!

"Beautiful place to stay"
Charlie C, 28 Janvier 2018

This place is a very nice place. Staff is friendly. Rooms are nice. We only had 1 problem while staying there. The food was bad. I had a hard time going to eat there. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. Maybe its because I'm a meat and pototoe kind of guy. If you like beans & rice & beans & rice then you might enjoy it but for me, I didnt like the food. Other than that we had a great time. Very close to downtown (within walking distance) Lots of shops. The pool was nice ( only about 3 1/2 ft deep). Right on the ocean which was nice. Security on site 24 hours a day.. Overall if you can get past the food, its nice

"Americans and Canadians beware"
NTVBOB, 27 Janvier 2018

The management of this property needs a week long seminar in CRM. They probably don't know what it is! They take pains to make your stay as unpleasant as it can be. While the workers do a good job, its the management that creates the problems. Case in point. Arrived for a five night stay. Went to the pool at 9am after our first night there. Found no, repeat no chaise lounge chairs available. Half of them had only towels on them. No personal bags, no flipfops or sandals next to them. Pool attendant said those people came out at 8am and placed a towel on the chair to reserve it. We then spoke to Marco at the front desk, he said he would speak to someone. Next person who came over was a securiy guard. He said you gotta move, that chair was reserved at 8am. Next person came was Marcos manager. She said "gotta leave". We asked to speak to the hotel manager. He wont be in today, i'm in charge. Well all three hotel people certainly know how to tick (pi.s) off customers. Every hotel, cruise etc. Specifically tells people you cant reserve lounge chairs by throwing a towel on it and coming back 4 hours later!! If this is a problem the hotel doesn't have enough chairs...simple. Now here is the worst. Check in for a 5 night stay. Desk agent says "where is the third person" duh. There is no third person. He says then we must adjust the rate. Email comes back...sorry same rate for 1, 2 or 3 people. THIS IS A FULLY INCLUSIVE 3 MEALS A DAY RESORT. I was Bullsh.t" Even if he gave me a credit of $10 per day i would have been happy! Now dinner...most of the items made "The Old Country Buffett" look like a weight watchers dinner, This diiner wss loaded with Hi Carb dishes! And i loved the two main got dishes...TRIPE and TONGUE in some type of sauce, not to mention the fried fish heads and tails! I am sure i will receive one of those replys shortly from the manager "I am so sorry you blah, blah blah..DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, DISCUSS THIS AT YOU MONDAY MEETING (if you have one) and take corrective action. We checked out after our first night. Obviously they dont need our business!! Will also send a copy of this to BW Corporate, whom I'm sure will say "we cant control our franchise owners" i.e. this is how we pass the buck.

"Great service for a reasonable price"
Chris S, 23 Janvier 2018

We stayed at the Best Western Jaco Bach recently from Jan 3-10 and had a terrific time. While the hotel accommodations are basic, the resort was well-kept, very clean and nicely maintained. The buffet was varied and reflective of the local culture which we very much appreciated. One of the highlights for us was the outstanding service. Staff was attentive and genuinely interested in assisting you. We were especially impressed with Heiner and Pamela! Chilli Guero, Pura Vida!

"Paradise"
270atb, 14 Janvier 2018

This resort is heaven! For five days we sat poolside soaking up the rays and counted the minutes until we got to eat again. Throw in the free (well poured drinks) and we never wanted to leave. I cannot say enough about the staff. They brought us waters and drinks to our pool chairs. They removed dirty dishes and refilled water glasses at meals with speed. Someone was always mopping or sweeping the floors in order to keep the resort and our rooms clean. The food was great. Fresh fruit, salad bar, and baked goods were the best. Main entrees changed daily. Even when a meal is not being served hot dogs and hamburgers are available in the beach bar. The rooms are what you expect from a mid-range hotel. Rooms are clean, comfy, and adaquatly sized. Bathrooms are nice, showers have plenty of hot water. Family friendly atmosphere - activities on the beach for kids (giant sandbox, crafts, kite flying). Great for adults too (water aerobics, trivia, and did I mention free drinks). I plan on returning here and would 100% recommend it to anyone!

"Great Hotel - Not Fancy - Just right"
channa27, 01 Janvier 2018

This is a great hotel. All inclusive. The pool isn't really huge, but workable. The beach is great. But watch out for tiny pebbles on the beach. Once you are in the water, you can find a place where there are no pebbles to hurt your feet. Or wear some swim shoes and you will be ok. Great surf and Beach minus the pebbles. Not crowded at all. You can do a walk end to end, which is about a 3 mile walk. Which is great. The food is not imaginative. But adequate. The desserts are not what I call made well. I think the baker may need a little more training. I ate all three meals every day for 6 days and it was adequate. I think with some imagination they can make the food much better. There is loud music that is played all day near the pool. Apart from the two bars, there is no other activity to talk about at the hotel. The times they had some activities it was not communicated well. The activities were fireworks one night and a disco the other night. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are super clean. They are scrubbed down and cleaned every morning. The AC is a little noisy, but you get used to it. I used it as a launching point for my excursions. There are no excursions that can be booked from the hotel. You have to plan that out. If you go out of the hotel and turn right, and walk about two blocks and that takes you to Jaco downtown and there are plenty of companies there who can help you with all manner of excursions. So that was not an issue for me.

"Wonderful stay, will come back!"
Sarah C, 01 Janvier 2018

I've been to Jaco before, and stayed in a hotel I thought was perfect....however, this is the one I will be sure to come back to! Location to town is great, beach access is perfect, food was good, atmosphere was festive enough (I thought more would be going on, but it was still fine), staff is amazing. I really enjoyed the stay. Food can be repetitive, but I prefer it that way sometimes, and it was all delicious. Prior to going, I read the posts about the slipping, and I noticed it as soon as I arrived. But I walking in sneakers might solve that. If walking in wet areas with flip flops, slipping is a possibility. The tico renting boards on the beach outside the hotel -- stay away. Rent it from a store in town instead. I wanted to save myself some time and rented it from him for an afternoon and morning. After he was just plain rude about my surfing, he insisted he would meet me in the morning with a different board. He never showed up, although I had, of course, paid him for the afternoon and the morning. My fault for giving him the chance -- I just want to warn any other guests to stay away.

"Clean rooms, friendly staff, not my type of environment. LOUD MUSIC. "
Denise G, 25 Décembre 2017

The rooms were very clean - they were cleaned every morning by housekeeping. Rooms and linens smelled clean every time. The staff was super kind and helpful but unless you're ready to hear loud music from the pool area (center of all the rooms) day in and day out, stay away. I nearly had an anxiety attack just now because it seems like there's not a single quiet moment here. Turn the music off and let us listen to nature and the waves! Every morning as soon as the sun is up and until the sun is down, music is blaring from the pool area. The people who stay here also seem to be locals who are only here to party - day in and day out. I prefer to be around calmer people who are here to relax as well. Next time I'll be sure to stay at the Marriott where it is serene and relaxing. Unfortunately we planned out trip days before flying out and all the good resorts were sold out. You can't even sit out on the balcony because the music is so annoying. All you hear is BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. ?? I would like to mention that throughout our stay, Karen at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind. I am super thankful for her!

"Economical and relaxing"
NatalyJurmala, 05 Novembre 2017

The best thing about it that I liked is that you can buy your all inclusive package dayly, so you don't waste your money while sightseeing and traveling. Don't book an airport transfer from different agencies, there's a direct bus just for $5!

"Birthday celebration"
jigsmigs, 24 Octobre 2017

We just got back from Costa Rica and all in all it was a nice resort. For the price you get a lot and the staff is tremendous and truly made the whole 5 days wonderful. The buffet style options were tasty but not out of the ordinary. The whole resort is very well up kept and clean but could use a little updating and upgrading. Our room was basic but that is what we expected. Good choices for liquor and lots of tasty fruity drinks. It is maybe a 15 walk downtown which goes fairly quick and lots of shops, bodegas and cafes. Now for the negative and one HUGE issue is the tile that encompasses the entire resort. We had 8 of the 10 folks with us slip and fall. This is really serious and can ruin an entire trip. I know that the resort will read this but SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT IT. 15 bruises, 2 fractured ribs and countless scraps. Unfortunately this will be the main reason we will not return. Adding simple slip-free strips would be a lot for safety. All it takes is one nasty slip and vacation is over.

"A very good All Inclusive for the money!"
ghostbeliever1950, 23 Octobre 2017

My wife and I stayed there from 10/13/17 until 10/20/17. The food was nothing fancy (all buffet) but the choices were plenty, and the tropical fruits were always fresh and sweet. At the beachside bar there were hamburgers, and hotdogs as well as nachos. They 'do not' know how to make crispy fries, but neither does the Los Amigos restaurant in town (and Tripadvisor gave them an award for excellence in 2017. One thing lacking at the breakfast buffet was BACON! But for $40.00 per person for the all inclusive what should one expect? The room we stayed in was very comfortable, and the TV has FOX News! The staff throughout the resort was very friendly. Sergio the bartender was great, and so was Frank, and the two younger bartenders. The liqour quality is not that of a five star resort, but for the price of the all inclusive it was good. Jenny stood out as the best breakfast egg maker, and William 'the nacho man'! We travel a great deal, and would stay there again!

"Girls Trip"
devlinbriana, 19 Octobre 2017

The room and resort were very clean. We did find a little crab in our room one night. But I thought that was kind of funny. Friendly staff and beautiful beach. Its ok to walk around the city and leave the resort.

"Enjoyable Stay"
BobK46, 23 Septembre 2017

We are currently in day 4 of a 5 day stay. The staff is very friendly and most speak some English. The food is quite good and varies daily. My wife is gluten free and has no trouble finding dishes to suit her appetite. The beach is not good for swimming as the waves pound the shore. I would call it a surfer's paradise. There are more small children here than we expected. The rooms are clean but noisy at night from the hallway and the room above ours. Good security on the grounds so we felt totally safe. The specialty drink menu is extensive with friendly bartenders. In all, we are enjoying our stay.

"Good value and location. GPS IS A MUST!!!!!!"
bevblues, 18 Septembre 2017

I'm not a fan of all inclusive resorts, but really enjoyed my stay here. Very pretty grounds with a large swimming pool, 2 bars, play area with foosball, ping pong, etc,, small gift shop and open air dining. On 2 mornings while I was having coffee, there were wild macaws in the trees! What could be better than that? We really appreciated all the covered areas and walkways as t rained every late afternoon into evening. Never has to go out into the rain. Food was always a buffet consisting of rice, beans, pasta, veggies, salads, fruits, desserts. There was always some fish, chicken, pork or beef being served. Food was ok, not great, not bad. Actually very typical of Costa Rica. Their food is not very interesting compared to Mexican or island. Rooms were all tiled. Decent beds, lousy pillows. Hot water in shower, not in sink. Typical hotel AC- loud and either hot or cold with a 1 degree temp change. Housekeeping was really thorough and our rooms as well as public areas were spotless. There was always someone doing something for upkeep. We found all the waiters, bar tenders and front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful. There are free local and international calls from the front desk. Due to Hurricane Irma, we used this service. Staff was more than willing to place calls and translate when necessary. There was no problem if we were on hold for a long time. Location is good. Go north on 34 to get to Carara National Park and Pura Vida Waterfalls. Go south for 1 hr 45 mins to Manual Antonio Park. Town of Jaco is typical beach town. We didn't spend much time there. Not worth t in our opinions. Costa Rica is not inexpensive like other countries. Prices are on a par with US prices. HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW: HAVE A GPS!!!! THERE AREN'T ROAD NAMES. Nor are there decent road maps.

"Nice combination of location, value, quality, and friendliness."
pagmeister, 16 Septembre 2017

Overall very nice, week long experience. Good location, easy to find, and free parking. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept. The lobby area and common areas are quite nice and very clean and open. If you have done "all inclusive resorts" before, this property is much smaller, and more convenient to navigate. However, that also means fewer choices for bars and restaurants. The staff overall was very friendly and helpful. Some exceptions, but many more who were great. Our favorite, among many, was Octavio in the restaurant. The daily dinner menu was quite diverse, and had something we really liked every night. The pool bar was great for a casual buffet lunch. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with made to order egg and waffle stations. The room was very clean, spacious, and everything worked. Decor was a bit spartan, but quite functional. Easy walking distance into downtown Jaco. The Jaco beach is not a sandy one, but rather pebbles and mixed soil. Great waves, and surfers galore just a bit up the beach. Compact gift shop was huge array of stuff at fair prices. The bars were well stocked, beer was cold, and the mixed drinks generously poured. If there was a 4.5 rating I would do it. Overall very enjoyable.

"Horrible customer service!"
Stephane S, 09 Septembre 2017

I will say this, I never even stayed at this resort and let me tell you why. I couldn't get in contact with them. I called five yes 5 times in order to try to reach the front desk two days before I was supposed to arrive here. I could not get anyone to answer their phones. I needed to confirm that they had a crib for our baby and that we would be able to check in a little early the day we arrived. Well after not getting in contact with anyone like I needed I called Best Western customer service and they also were unable to reach the resort. I was so alarmed by this I asked to cancel the reservation. I mean who wants to travel internationally with an infant to a resort that doesn't answer their phone? I ended up being charged $161 dollars because I "cancelled too late". When I got back from Costa Rica I had a voicemail from Best Western saying that the resort was going to refund my money. That was a week ago yesterday and still no refund. Stay away from this place. Go to Crocs Resort. It is pricier but they answer their phones and their customer service is amazing!

"Bad first impression, but it ended great!"
hcg123, 17 Août 2017

When we arrived, we had a really bad first impression due to the staff member at the front desk (tall, dark hair, glasses). He was rude to the point of almost being hostile. He did not tell us about the safe, beach towels, the restaurant, where the elevator was... another staff member stepped in and helped us. At first we thought, it was because we were english speaking, but, later we saw him be respectful to others. My friends suggested that perhaps he mistakenly thought we were a same-sex couple and had an issue with it (he referred to her as my "partner" ). All of our interactions with him were unpleasant. Despite, our bad first impression, we had a great stay. The hotel is definitely no frills, but, exceptionally clean. The rest of the staff were excellent. The food, while repetitive was tasty and good. The drinks were delicious. We had fun on the beach, but, be prepared for big waves and bring swim shoes (I would not let small kids play in the ocean). The bar staff were great. It is a very different than all-inclusive from some southern countries, but, overall, we had a very good stay.

"Amazing!!!"
623beachlover, 08 Août 2017

Best western jaco beach is a great hotel. Right on the beach, amazing and friendly staff, close to town, and the hotel had a great vibe. We had a great time and would absolutely love to return sometime soon!!!

"Great place by the beach"
Steve M, 02 Août 2017

We stayed 2 nights, the selection of food and drinks to choose from was good. With in walking distance of the beach. Very safe place to stay. Room was good, most of the time is spent outside anyway. With in walking distance of local shops and restaurants. The large buffets offered many choices and different things to try for the adventurist eater.

"Nice stay - VERY Safe"
3littleladies, 18 Juillet 2017

Stayed for three nights with my teen daughter. Ziplined, white water rafted during the day, hung out at night. This was the perfect place to relax after a long day. Security in and out of the hotel is very closely monitored, as well as access to the hotel from the beach - a plus I appreciate. Staff was very attentive, the rooms clean and functional. The all inclusive food/drink option was appreciated. Both my daughter and the found the food delicious. All in all a great find.

"Great hotel in the heart of Jaco!"
Kimberly H, 18 Juillet 2017

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. My mother and I are from California and were about the only visitors who were not from Costa Rica it seemed like, but it took us a while to even notice because everyone seemed to let us blend right in. Yes, the food is kind of repetitive at the restaurant but it was still great. We were there for 5 days and felt like we were able to experience real authentic Costa Rican food, which was enough for us! The drinks were phenomenal especially for being included, and the staff at the snack bar could not have been better. The hotel is immaculate and just in general kept in great condition. The staff was also really nice about packing us lunches on the days we were leaving for excursions. I would definitely stay here again, thank you for the great trip and fantastic hospitality! Also, location could not be better. :)

"Honeymoon!"
Carly R, 29 Juin 2017

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and were so pleased with our experience! The all inclusive was fantastic, we felt safe the entire time, and had so much fun with all of the activities right there at the hotel!

"Needs many upgrades"
Anthony L, 21 Juin 2017

Last week I stayed at the Best Western in Jaco Beach. It was an all inclusive at $139/night. The food was very repetitive. Not many amenities at all. The pool was good but no pool bar. As a frequent traveller I was disappointed with the overall room, food and drinks. I wouldn't recommend an all inclusive in Costa Rica. It would be better to book a condo with a kitchen.

"Loved it!!!!"
Marquessa G, 13 Juin 2017

What's not to love?! It's all inclusive! Paramella and Daniel in the bar were great! They were fun and very kind!! We loved snacks being offered. The meals were nice as well but we personally got sick of them and went to town to eat some meals!! It's right by the beach, there is pool, ping pong, a pool! The housekeeping was great and the front desk staff were kind!!

"Nice place to stay in Jaco"
FlaDave, 26 Mai 2017

A friend & I recently stayed for 2 nights at the all-inclusive BW Jaco Beach. We arrived 2 hours before check in and were advised by the security guard at the driveway gate that we would be charged $50 each ($100) if we checked in early or we could leave & come back at 3pm. We left and went for a walk around town. The location is great, the grounds are kept very nice and the rooms & facilities were all fine. They had good breakfast & dinner buffets (we didn't make it for a lunch) and the bars made good-tasting, strong drinks. Some of the staff is bi-lingual but most seemed to know only a few words here & there. The security posted by the beach access prevented anyone from taking alcohol down onto the beach. I understand rules but lots of people down on the beach were drinking. The pool was very warm, not at all refreshing. Overall it was a nice place to stay but I'll probably try someplace else next trip!

"Great as Usual"
Rick A, 10 Mai 2017

Nice hotel. Close to everything. Good overall experience. Staff is great! The restaurant staff are exceptional and have worked here for several years. Very accommodating. Modesto and Jorge provided exceptional service.

"Nice Hotel"
Valerie C, 05 Mai 2017

Hotel was nice. It had well kept grounds and friendly staff. The pool was nice but very hot, in the hot weather you didn't really feel refreshed since the water was hot. The hose water was better. Great service behind the bar. The food was delicious. Good variety of food for those who eat Costa Rican food, like myself I am Costa Rica, and a blend of variety for those who don't, like my American boyfriend. The hotel was right on the beach but the beach isn't really swimmable, very rocky rough tides and manta rays. The town it self is shabby and unsafe at certain times of the night so we never felt the need to really leave the resort. Security in the resort was great and had great parking for our rental car. Staff was around 24 hours a day,

"Not so good, not so bad!"
Adolfo A, 02 Mai 2017

I really like this chain and I have used these hotels in other countries but, the one in Jaco is kinda old and I think it needs some maintenance. On the other hand, it has a good location, disco and all inclusive service.

"Nice Hotel"
jrpard0, 13 Avril 2017

Clean.. Basic rooms, nothing fancy. Pool and food were very good, as was the open bar. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach was nice. Town was kind of shabby. Went on a ATV tour of the rain forests - best part of the trip.

"Good Location and Nice Hotel"
smotracookviolet, 10 Avril 2017

Good service. Lunch & supper had enough variety of meats & vegetable. Breakfast NOT diabetic friendly, lots of sweet breads, jams (no peanut butter no tortilla (flat breads) no plain yogurt. Location is close to public beach, great for walks & sunsets, sand very coarse, ocean tides are strong, good for surfers.

"Great place for our anniversary"
David R, 28 Mars 2017

This was our 50th anniversary, so we wanted it to be extra-special. We picked BW Jaco Beach for a couple of reasons: my wife and I wanted a beach vacation, and she is disabled so we needed wheelchair friendly. This location filled the bill. There are so many positives I don't know where to begin. Everything on the grounds was accessible for my wife. There were ramps to the lobby bar, ocean front restaurant bar, pool, and main restaurant. We stayed in an accessible room. There were grab bars around the toilet and a roll-in shower. The pool was a lot of fun. It was clean, and had plenty of seating around it. Since it is circular, there is always a sunny area and a shady area for when you aren't in the water. There are a couple of families of iguanas to keep you entertained when not in the water. The food was tasty. Not gourmet, but well prepared and a good choice. I had the spaghetti with garlic sauce every day - yummy. But the best part by far was the staff. they were extremely friendly and competent and were eager to help any way they could. My wife's family are all passed away, and we were sad about celebrating our 50th alone. Instead, BW went out of their way to treat us like family: Ana (maid) decorated our room, management sent a flower arrangement to our room, a special table was prepared for us for lunch, and a bottle of champagne appeared at our dinner table. Overall, we felt we were surrounded by brothers and sisters and it became a special day. I'd like to say again every member of the staff treated us like long time friends. William, Jairon, Kenneth, Octovio, Laura, Ana, and the others were kind; they greeted us every time they saw us. I consider the experience well worth the cost, would recommend it to anybody considering a Central America vacation, and will probably stay there again. The part is for other disabled travelers, and should not be considered criticism of the BW Jaco Beach. We had some concerns/suggestions we experienced and passed along to a manager. The room had two beds, which meant there was no way to get a wheelchair to the side of the bed - just not enough room to navigate. The closet did not have a second bar low enough for the wheelchair person to hang up clothes. The roll-in shower does not have a bench for the transfer to (when I requested a chair, Ana had one immediately, so this wasn't a concern). The toilet is too close to the wall, making it hard to use the handrail effectively, and too low for a wheelchair person. bottom line is that a wheelchair person will need an assistant to help.

"Average"
Shawnacey R, 26 Mars 2017

We stayed for one night and that was enough. The rooms are tiny and the bed was hard as well as the pillows. The a/c did work well but it was an additional charge. You would think a/c would be included in the "all-inclusive". The best thing about this hotel is the view! The sunset was breathtaking and the waves crashing on the beach were so beautiful to watch. The bartenders made really good drinks and were really pleasant. The food was ok but the selection could definitely be improved. Ice would be nice in the water too. It was ok overall.

"Quiet all included"
clofranco, 24 Mars 2017

To arrive early you must pay... 25$ each... 50$ US Clean hotel good food good water relaxing place beach... no shadding spots except the Palm trees (public beach) fun waves beautiful sunset waiter are nice not to many people near town hot in JACO

"Honeymoon - did not disappoint overall"
nickwmccoy, 23 Mars 2017

Location is so perfect. Walking to town is a breeze and an adventure. Only complaints would be on the weekends many surrounding countries have visitors that really like to party. DJ by the pool is a little loud and obnoxious (on Saturday) and nobody seems to listen to him unless he is playing music. Since it is right next to the beach, the amenities in the room are pretty barren and minimal. The food is very bland but a little salt and pepper can stretch your meal. Overall it is an amazing destination though - I would recommend this to anyone traveling to the best kept secret in Costa Rica (Jaco Beach).

"Loud lobby"
bittermp, 26 Novembre 2016

The hotel is okay. not terrible and not great. The biggest issue is that the open concept lobby is near the rooms, so it is very loud, especially at night. Didn't sleep soundly at all due to noise at 1am from teenager, the games room area and giant tv.. Also front staff didn't help to quiet things down. I understand partying, but either this is a family friendly hotel or it's for party goers. The two can't go together. The showers are built for tiny people. Had to contort my body to wash my hair. The food is okay. The drinks are good. The hotel staff is friendly, but I probably not stay here again. The resident iguanas by the pool are great though.

"Nice location for a family vacation!"
augustj542, 24 Novembre 2016

The property was very clean and the staff was professional and friendly. My one complaint is that the internet was inconsistent. We would have extended our stay it it would have been better. Very good location to get to other actives.

"Beautiful Hotel"
Kurt A, 25 Octobre 2016

This was part of a dream vacation for a friend and I. We found the deal from Gate1 travel. This hotel was included in the deal and we couldn't have been happier. We arrived to a smooth, quick check in and overview of the property. The room was a basic room - nothing exciting. We spent some time at the beach bar - amazing! A lot to be said for all inclusive!!! From the bar we saw another part of the hotel where the rooms had balconies - and since we are balcony people I went to ask if we could move rooms. We were escorted to the 4th floor end unit / the one closest to the beach. INCREDIBLE VIEW (room 413). The grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept. Clean, beautiful, up to date. Room 413 was obviously newer than the first room with a much larger bathroom. The bar staff was AWESOME! All were super friendly and very attentive - I don't think my glass was empty but a minute or 2 before someone was checking on me. The food was good - not 5 star but good. A large variety so you could always find something you liked. Fresh fish, chicken, pork or beef for dinner. If you like to wander out a bit there are dozens of places to eat within a 5 minute cab ride. I can't say enough good things about this place and commend them for being a wonderful, relaxing place to call home during vacation. It does seem to get a bit busier on the weekends but nothing crazy. Everyone was there to have a good time and mission accomplished. If you are at all contemplating this place - book it - you absolutely will not be sorry. Pura Vida!!!

"Close to San Jose"
Mary J, 17 Octobre 2016

I live in Costa Rica and have stayed at different all inclusive hotels over the years. I found this one to have a wonderful buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very good waffles. The selection of vegetables was great and well prepared. Salad bar was always fresh. Restaurant and buffet were very clean and plenty of staff. We arrived at 7pm and had no problem with checking in. Our room was on the ground floor, definitely no frills but it has the basics for a comfortable stay.

"Great All-inclusive Hotel"
Ricardo S, 15 Octobre 2016

The drive to jaco is long, but definitely worth it. This hotel is situated on some prime beach front property. Staff are very professional and friendly and bilingual(Spanish and English). Breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. Something new and different almost daily and buffet style. Plenty of activities for you to choose from. Pool table, ping pong table, pool fitness sessions, decent conference facilities and the grounds were always clean.. don't be surprised if you see a few iguanas on the property, but they are harmless.

"Great All-Inclusive"
hortonhearslax, 13 Octobre 2016

This is a great all-inclusive right on the beach. It was appropriate for what we needed, as we wanted to just relax for the week and not worry about food or drinks if we didn't want to. The bartenders are phenomenal characters who made everything fun. The bar always had something at night, even though it is the down season. We only used the pool once, because the ocean was spectacular. You could walk out forever without being more than waist-deep, but you could still surf. The water and pool were warm, we looked to the shower to cool off. The food was good, but if you require high end you'll need to venture out. We were quite happy with what they had to offer, though. This is a beautiful, simple place. Always clean and well-groomed. Great for families or couples.

"Fun times"
gtabbi, 12 Octobre 2016

Great atmosphere and wonderful people. Recommend highly, the staff was amazing, food plentiful. Did a 4 wheel drive tour with a company recommended from hotel...was quite an expensive to say the least.

"Not worth the all inclusive feature"
MPMIA, 07 Octobre 2016

The common areas were clean. The bathroom was fine. But the room felt muggy and gross. The rooms have those old jalousie windows. One of the panes was missing in my room. There was a cricket in one of my friends room and the cold water didn't work in my other friend's room. The food was mediocre. The desserts were not cold and the soups were not hot. The drinks were watered down. We were supposed to stay there 4 nights but left after the first night.

"Nice place, good customer service and drinks."
Salvador A, 25 Septembre 2016

Nice place, good food, and infrastructure was fine. Breakfast and cocktails were the best. I have enjoyed waffles, were good and fresh. Cocktail were really good, good liquors, good amount of buzz and bartenders rocks, specially Francisco. The AC was broken, it worked but made noises during the whole night. Beach is average, public and was not really clean. Good deal if you want to go to an all inclusive hotel, to drink and have fun with your friends for few days Also works great if you don't want to drive and just take a bus, it is close to San Jose, and Jaco public transportation is good and the bus stops right in front of the hotel

"Great hotel! Amazing Staff! Beautiful Location!!"
o_Lee_o, 22 Septembre 2016

I stayed at Best Western Jaco for 7 nights in September. I went with my dad who doesn't speak any Spanish. I thankfully do speak Spanish but that wasn't important. All the staff were great, I spoke Spanish with them and my dad English, a lot of the staff really tried to speak with my dad and most of whom could speak English well. I cannot thank the staff enough for making the trip so much more enjoyable, every day we would have a laugh and chat. The bar staff were great, William, Heyner and Francisco were brilliant (all the others were too but we spoke more to these three) The staff in the restaurant were also so friendly and helpful, and the maids...what can I say, what a talent they have. Each day we would come back to find a different towel display on the bed, some were just amazing!! The hotel was really clean all of the time, so close to the beach, well, ON the beach! food and drink was great especially for All Inclusive. I am 29 and my dad 55 but age doesn't matter, we both had a great time!!! We stayed in a pool view room on 5th floor but that shouldn't put anyone off, the top floor had the best views of the beach, the pool, the ocean and each morning seeing the wildlife was amazing!! Definitely recommend this place to anyone travelling to Costa Rica. Would love to go back ASAP!!! Thanks again to everyone at the hotel who made the stay brilliant!!!

"Best value for money"
roccarva, 18 Septembre 2016

We enjoyed our time here. The food is good, the employees are nice and the rooms simple but clean. The beds are comfortable. It is not a luxurious hotel, but the rates are not high either...so I think it's a good option if you are traveling with children...no need to think about cooking, cleaning messes etc. Everything is within short distance, ( which is important if you are going with kids)the pool is close to the snack bar and to the beach. I would go there again. Ask for a ground floor room because there are no elevators and not in front of the pool if you don't want noise from the disco.

"Great Family Hotel!"
JCb1996, 17 Septembre 2016

Stayed for 3 nights with my family and had a great time. The hotel is beachfront and located in a very nice area of the beach. We really enjoyed having an early morning walk every day before breakfast. The hotel facilities are also very nice, including their swimming pool, beach-front bar and lounge areas. We particularly enjoyed their breakfast, with nice omelettes and some local specialties. The rooms are also nice and comfortable. Ask for the pool-view rooms with a balcony. They have a very nice view of the pool and the beach, especially on the higher floors. My only recommendation to the hotel would be to improve the service at the main gate of the hotel, and make them more friendly and welcoming to the guests, especially as that is the first impression.

"Great Value for your buck and right on the Beach!"
debbiediniz, 15 Septembre 2016

My husband and I recently kicked off our honeymoon at this Best Western on Jaco Beach. We got a great deal and found ourselves surprisingly pleased with everything about this place! The Value is really great for an all inclusive and the food was very good and plentiful! The staff are really friendly here, but I found especially so, at the bar! We had some wine delivered to our room as a Honeymoon surprise which was very sweet and they set up the towels in a lovely Heart shape with a note too. There's one pool, which is circular and more for cooling down as it's a bit small to swim in, but it's nice and you are right on Jaco Beach! It's great to start your day and check out surfer's in the morning or grab a lesson from an instructor at the end of the path. Just a reminder this is a non-smoking resort and of course it's hot, but the rooms have air conditioning units and we were very comfortable. There aren't mini fridges, but ice is available for your room if you like and every room has a balcony! This is a great find if you're landing in San Jose, but looking to get to the beach right away! We found ourselves just over an hour away from the airport and we were happy to be able to get out of the city and onto the shore early on! Surf's up at Jaco Beach!

"Best Western on the Beach"
Carl C, 13 Septembre 2016

The Jaco Best Western is one of the older and largest beachfront hotels on Playa Jaco. Rooms have all been recently remodeled. Great food and pool areas. Outstanding for families and weddings. Short walk to downtown Jaco.

"Alittle disappointed in hotel infrastructure"
Shawn M, 06 Septembre 2016

Some good: 1) The staff was friendly and welcoming. 2) Breakfast, lunch and dinner was great, many choices that changes every day. 3) Greeted with snacks and drinks at the entrance. Now unto the negatives: 1) Early Check-in. I am from Jamaica, every single all inclusive hotel here will check you in before the check in time, but you may not receive a room if its not ready. At this hotel, we had to wait exactly until check-in time to get our arm bands to even get access to the bar or restaurant while we wait. We had to sit on what is supposed to be a wall in front of check in desk. No waiting area. At least they kept our luggage safe while we walked the town until their 3pm check in time. 2) Hotel layout. The buildings are three stories high, no elevators. Stairs are on one side, not in the middle or on both ends. Very long walk to get to stairs. 3) Power cuts. No backup generators. Almost every day there was a powercut for around 0.5-2 mins. 4) Hot water takes ages. They must be piping hot water from some volcano a few hundred miles away because there is no reason for hot water taking over 10+ minutes to reach our pipe. 5) Rooms had like nothing. No iron, no microwaves, no fridge, nothing you'll find in any hotel of this sort.

"Great Experience"
taylor_92890, 31 Août 2016

This hotel was very nice and perfect for a few days on vacation. The all inclusive package was well worth it! The service was amazing and everywhere we went there were employees who were extremely helpful. The pool was beautiful, the bar was clean and there were options, and the dinner buffet was very good! We had come from another hotel in Jaco that we left early due to accommodations, and this was such a better experience. The rooms had amazing air conditioning, and they were very clean. They had bug spray for guest use all over the resort and were very helpful when trying to find a ride to the airport and a cab to another town. If I ever go back to Jaco I would not think twice and would stay here again in a second!

"Not for me"
Sheri2, 28 Août 2016

I stayed at Croc's Casino Resort for two nights and was going to stay here for three nights for something different. Well it was different alright upon arriving at 1:00 I was told check in is at 3:00 and I couldn't stay on property unless i paid 25.00. I asked if I could just sit and wait and was told no i would have to leave and come back. So I paid the 25.00 and was glad i did because i realized the hotel has no air conditioning except in the rooms. It was very hot that day and I couldn't find a place to escape the heat. It also didn't seem to be a very clean place it looked to me to be a place you come to party. Then after seeing the rooms are set up like a motel I decided to cancel my reservation and go back to Croc's. All the room are outside so if you open the curtains everyone can see in your room. I was here by myself and that made me uncomfortable.

"It's on the beach"
michael g, 25 Juillet 2016

We got this hotel as part of a Groupon Package. I went with my girlfriend and we were not traveling with children. I'll just do a quick pros and cons list from the perspective. Pros Great Location. On the beach. Walking Distance to downtown. All you can drink alcohol. Dinner was pretty good for an inexpensive all inclusive. Friendly Restaurant and bar staff. Cons No curb appeal, hotel was under construction while we were there. No elevator, not a huge deal but we were on the third floor with heavy luggage and no one offered to help us to the room. Tons of kids, we never made it to the pool because of all the children (if you have kids this might not be a con) Impossible to get seating by the pool unless you get there first thing in the morning. Breakfast and lunch snacks were not ever good. We seemed to be the only English speakers staying at the hotel. Room was pretty basic. Overall: It was on the beach with good location and free food and alcohol, we stayed there 2 nights which was about as long as I would want to stay there. I would not choose this hotel if it didn't come with the groupon package, but like I said it wasn't terrible. If you are not traveling with children I would not recommend it.

"Laid back and family oriented "
britt163, 21 Juillet 2016

We finished off our trip to Costa Rica at this all inclusive and were very pleased with our stay. Overall the hotel is basic and currently going through renovations but very clean. The location is great, about a ten minute walk to the cheaper souvenir shops but there is tons of stores on the way as well. The pool is great and the view is beautiful. Staff were friendly, helpful, and kept the energy up. There was always music and different activities going on. There were a lot of kids running around but the staff had all types of games in the main area to Keep them busy and a life guard on site. The food was ok, there was a decent selection and usually able to find something but definitely a different type of cuisine then I'm used to. Because it is an all inclusive I thought I got my money's worth for food and drinks overall, they have a large selection of cocktails and all were equally fantastic (Paolo and Sergio were by far the best bartenders and made great suggestions). The atmosphere was most enjoyable. The guests were from all different backgrounds and seemed to all be enjoying themselves which is different from some of the fancier places I have stayed. It was refreshing seeing smiles everywhere. Because of how fun and laid back everyone was, I would gladly stay here again. It isn't a 5 star hotel that's for sure but the quality of our stay was fantastic and I recommend it to anybody who just wants to relax and enjoy themselves or even those wanting to bring the family along for a vacation.

"Jaco downtown"
dashingfood, 15 Juillet 2016

Great trip!! Will go again!! There is plenty to do at the resort. Beautiful pool, nice beach to take a long walk. Jack Beach is more of a surfing beach than anything. Not far from walking into town. It is better to go shopping, walking during the day when it's safe and you can see better too.

"Great staff , drinks and food "
Fabiolajulia, 14 Juillet 2016

We had a great time at Best western Jaco . The building was under construction when we were there (it needs a lot of work). All the bartenders were great and the buffet staff was excellent. The pool is small and the ocean is not the best. I wish the building was in better conditions and that they had a king size bed with a larger pool.

"Great place"
downrangeglobal, 12 Juillet 2016

Spent one night at this all inclusive for $130. Nice facility on the beach. Excellent service, good rooms and family friendly. Bus station directly across the street or shuttle to/from San Jose for about $40 on the premises. At the edge of town and easy walk to shops etc.

"Nice stay in paradise on Earth"
Zsu-tazo, 30 Juin 2016

Six of us just came back from CR, Jaco beach. We stayed in 3 rooms and we all loved most part of the accommodation. One couple's room was quickly changed by request for a king size bedroom instead of the one double one twin bed configuration rooms. We arrived on Wednesday, it was almost nobody, really just a few people. But by friday lunch time it was already tripled and Saturday-Sunday felt almost crowded. It seemed, that locals take a weekend vacation using Best Western ( they had also different colored wraist-band as we had ( stayed 6 days). So it would be hard to get to use the tabletennis, billiard table, video game on the weekend versus during the weekdays, what we did. Most of the time we did trips outside of the resort anyway, so it was not really an issue, but one can considerate it especially in the peek season. All our rooms ( two on the third level, one on first) looked to the gorgeous pool area. The ground all around carefully manicured, taken care of, beautiful tropical plants, greenery surround the buildings, spotless everywhere. In the main dining room they changed the flower settings, gorgeous blooming compositions every day,, birds flew close by, geckos were sunbathing etc. We truly felt, we were in paradise. My only complaint was the hard, thick pillows and no soft one, so I had to fold a towel to put under my head for a good sleep. Best Western Hotel has a nice bar area next to the pool and they serve meals in between breakfast and lunch, also after lunch right before dinner. No one can possibly ask for more variety of foods, drinks, cocktails, other alcoholic beverages, great fruit juices etc. They did a super good job, all servers were attentive, courteous, chefs prepared meals on the spot by request. There is no elevator, so if some one has walking issues or knee problem need to request room on the main floor. There are play ground, tennis court, kiddy pool, adult pool on the ground, beach is right there a few hundred feets away. Jaco beach is good for surfing, boogie boarding, but great surfers might go to Beach Hermosa, a little south on route 34 ( about 10-15 minutes drive). That is truly dream of the surfers, also take place for the surfing competition on Saturdays.

"Best Western standards exceeded Jacó Beach"
Traveljunkyie, 23 Juin 2016

Was a very nice stay for us. The all inclusive was great, the waiters in the cabana were outstanding. They treated you like royalty and did their very best to make the stay memorable. The beach is wonderful. Temps were mid 40ties and at times I needed A/C to cool down. Tried beer and cocktails as well. :) we had to run to beach during mid day using the shadows of the palm trees lining up to the beach that's how hot the sand was. Rented a car there and did day trips to parks and zip lining quading etc. Great place to stay.

"Just Sad"
pgsegers, 18 Juin 2016

Strike One - they couldn't find our 2 week reservation. (That should have been a sign!). They found us a room after an hour. Can't fault the front desk staff, they were as embarrassed as we were. Strike Two - no water pressure - had to use ice bucket to fill with sink water to shower. Toilets - inconsistent flushing. Up, down, sideways - ya had to keep your sense of humor to get the job done. Strike Three - pool closed at 7:00 PM and rooms under construction across the hall. We used the hotel as a Base Camp, restock, get dry clothes - ran away to better locations. Quepos, Arenal, Samara. BTW- we like Best Western hotels, they just need to shut this location down, remodel, fix the problems and reopen. You can't charge these crazy prices and expect people not to complain. Jaco Beach area is just a crazy surf town, there is something for everyone here.

"Average hotel in a fabulous location"
jadenfalconeediting, 16 Juin 2016

This hotel is older but is undergoing a bit of a facelift. The front desk area and some of the grounds were "under construction" while we were there. Not much noise or dust from the construction. The front desk and concierge station were always helpful and friendly. Security staff, on the other hand, were a bit nasty at times. Staring through dark sunglasses was their favorite thing to do. (Everyone got their glares not just the bikini clad) And the security cameras were pointed out to me by several different guards...why? I have no idea. (A bit of a Big Brother feel) The rooms are small but very-very clean. Lizards and birds abound at this property and the beach is just 100M from the bar. (Try their pina colada) Our only real complaint was that on the weekend the DJ blared the music until well after 1am. Now, if you want weekend night life, you will appreciate the good Tico music. However, if you are looking to relax or wake early for some Zip Trip or Diving, bring your ear plugs.

"Had fun but do not feel need to go back"
Mika721, 09 Juin 2016

The check in process was a pain. We got there early (1:15 pm) and they had us fill out the paperwork and come back at 2, they would not let us walk around or check out pool or anything, we had to leave the property. Then we come back at 2pm and they give us a wristband that lets us on the property but does not let us eat or drink. So since that wristband existed why not let us have that at 1:15? So they tell us to come back to the desk and switch out our wristband for the regular one at 3pm but at that time it was a looong line to do so. Overall the staff was nice & pleasant. The room was clean, beds were ok. We had 5 people in one room and they set up a nice size rollaway bed for the 5th person. Nice size balcony. The food was awful. There is a lot to choose from but none of it is great. For a day it is doable but staying there three days we were so sick of the food by day two and three. The bar food is just ok on the busy days. On the weekdays it is awful because since its not busy it sits out for hours & hours. Drinks were good. Bar staff was nice. Beach was nice but there are more beautiful beaches at nearby towns so do some exploring. Just do not leave anything valuable in your car while exploring. Staff at buffet were nice and very helpful. There was a safe in the room but the desk staff informed us there was no key available.

"Rooms are tired"
PatriciaH1948, 07 Juin 2016

The reception treated us wonderfully, but after that the hotel is tired looking, and so are the rooms and I don't feel clean. I would not recommend this hotel and would suggest another outside of the town.

"Enjoyable Stay"
Heidi_BC, 06 Juin 2016

I had a great time! The resort had friendly staff and the room was clean. I hung out at the pool lots which was enjoyable. It only has one restaurant. It would be nice if it had a second option. The resort is really small compared to most all inclusive resorts. It's much more of a family vacation resort.

"Don't waste your money staying here"
Irma B, 05 Juin 2016

I booked this trip on Groupon it was the first time I used them and I am very disappointed. The hotel would not let us eat in the buffet until check in at 3:00pm we travel by car for 4 hours to get to the location once 3:00pm came around the buffet was closed and we had to eat hamburgers and hot dogs that tasted very poor and the spread of veggies and fruit had flies and bugs on them. The front desk people kept giving us the wrong information about room service which the is no room service! The beds are hard and the rooms are ugly. There was a group of teenagers drinking and they throw up in the hall way near our room. One of the girls slip on it and fell the hotel security never cleaned it until the next morning the smell was so bad and it took them over 2 hours to remove the kids from the hallway! The sand on the beach is hard and the water looks dirty. They have no jacuzzi and the pool closes at 7:00pm. It was very boring at this hotel. The staff is unfriendly or they just don't care.

"Stay away"
llbarton, 05 Juin 2016

Old hotel. Staff not friendly. Food was not great. Worst all inclusive I've ever stayed in. Town was sketchy. This hotel was part of our groupon and we wished we would have skipped it. So many other better places to go. We learned later that Jaco is the place to go for all your bachelor parties. There is for sure a dank undertone to the place. The hotel itself was under some construction. But breakfast was supposed to open at 615am. We had a tour pickup at 630 and the place was still closed. :( No fridge in room. Very stark. But mostly clean.

"Not the best looking rooms"
Raquel B, 04 Juin 2016

The rooms aren't very nice. I was very disappointed that they don't let you drink at the pool, when other hotels even have a wet bar. The food was ok. It's all inclusive food and drinks, but I believe that the drinks were watered down, because I'm not much of a drinker and had like 10 drinks and didn't even get a bit tipsy.

"Dated, Classic Low-End American Foreign Resort"
Christopher H, 03 Juin 2016

Disclaimer: my friend and I are both avid, young world travelers who have visited Costa Rica and other Latin American countries on multiple occasions. This location was chosen for us by our travel agent, whom we immediately ceased working with after this stay. To be completely honest, from the moment we parked - we knew we were going to be let down. This resort is your classic, carbon-copy, tacky American-style getaway for lower middle class families and their several children. The first thing we noticed was that there were bus loads of school children on some kind of trip, strike one. Then we found out there was no hot tub and that the pool closed at 7pm, strike two. The final strike was our communal dinner, which consisted of all American-style buffet food - nothing authentically Latin American at all (aka Pasta and Pizza). At check-in, we were given keys to a room that was already occupied by another family. The rooms are dated and in need of total renovation. Wifi was spotty and very inconvenient. The bed linens reminded me of an old, 1970's adult film set. Bottom line, this is not the place for adults traveling alone who want a quiet, relaxing experience or for those that want to escape American-style cliches. Suck it up and spend the money to actually experience Costa Rica in style. Avoid Playa Jaco, it is like the Jersey Shore of Costa Rica. Head up to the beaches west of Liberia for a more elegant and exclusive experience.

"Dated and Noisey"
DesertGal2014, 02 Juin 2016

My husband and I stayed here as part of a Groupon. I have never bought a Groupon for travel before so I was a little nervous about it. The trip was great until we got to the Best Western. As soon as we pulled up I was disappointed. This was at the end of our trip and I told myself it was only 2 nights, I can do this. There was about 20 guys watching a soccer game near the front desk they were very loud and the TV was blaring. There was also loud music at the pool. Lots of noise going on. We got to our room and it was very dated and very small. The whole place needs to be gutted and remodeled. There were no washcloths in our room so my husband went to the front desk to ask for a few and was told they don't have them at this hotel. What? What hotel does not have washcloths? The pool is small and the fountain in the middle was not working. Also I noticed that there was lots of paper cups and plates laying around the pool deck that the guests left for others to clean up even though there were trash cans, but no one was bussing the pool area. A real turn off. The food was bad to put it bluntly. It was hard to find something that looked appetizing. The last day I went to town for lunch, I could not eat another meal there. I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone! Groupon put together a great package for the first 3 days the last two left a lot to be desired.

"May Get-a-Way"
Hurstachelli, 26 Mai 2016

Very nice accommodations especially for the price. Nice Pool, very good food, friendly helpful staff, convenient to downtown and Croc's Casino. Highly recommend very nice easy to find. Be sure to get GPS if renting a car.

"Good value for what I paid"
Ken2fortax, 15 Mai 2016

The staff was very nice and the property was clean. For less than $1xx all inclusive for me it was great value. The breakfast was great, the dinner was good. Lunch needs some help. Had few maintenance issues they took care of. I did not understand why ac could not keep up with curtains open. On last day noticed one of Windows missing slat of glass.. Over all good c grade motel but all inclusive gave me good value. Not sure what would cost with many people.

"Very clean rooms and dining area."
marthabutler, 11 Mai 2016

The food was plentiful, but a bit repetitive. The bar restaurant was the same everyday and not very good. The dining room was great for breakfast and lunch and ok for dinner. We were there Wednesday-Sunday. The resort was quiet until Friday and Saturday night when the locals flocked in and was very very loud until around 1:00 a.m.

"Needs updates, but clean"
anolan86, 08 Mai 2016

We spent our last two days in Costa Rica here. I was pleasantly surprised... The room and dinning area was clean! We loved how open everything was. We had a pool view room, but there was a great view of the beach and ocean from the hallway and the dinning room. The pool was nice, but the fountain did not seem to be working. It was really cool to see Iguanas everywhere!!! The bar was just off the beach and made the BEST frozen lemonades! This was a nice place to finish up our trip. FYI, the rooms were clean, but out dated. Need to update the beds... Too hard!

"Pool closes at 7pm!?"
CCarayde, 04 Mai 2016

Rooms are clean, staff is extremely friendly. Great views, close to downtown Jaco (5 minute walk). It is a great price but I was deceived by the fact that not every room comes with a fridge and microwave, one of the reasons why I chose to stay here over the Hilton. Everything is expected for the price that you pay, other than two things. We had a room on the fourth floor and the WiFi only sometimes works. The beach is very rocky and not very good for swimming, this would not be much of a problem except for the fact that it's 80+ degrees Fahrenheit with high humidity everyday and the pool closes at 7pm daily, including weekends. Your only hope while outdoors at night is rain!

"fantastic view, food was amazing"
Alexander H, 03 Mai 2016

rooms were adequate and clean, not the best I've ever stayed in but they got the job done. the food was fantastic! always hot, fresh and delicious. the views were fantastic, right on a nice stretch of beach and the hotel staff did a wonderful job of taking car of us.

"Great place"
marco j, 01 Mai 2016

The staff were very good and a accomidating and the place was amazing room was clean with great air conditioning a nice pool and a great beach the resort was very clean and over all a great pleasure! Very nice

"Surreal View of Ocean, Great Food and Staff"
Carter R, 30 Avril 2016

Excellent beach area and view of the ocean from the rooms. Food was exceptional and the staff was very caring and helpful. Rooms were fairly small but contained a porch which made up for it. Pool was very large, very well kept as well. Many things to do on the resort to stay entertained. I would definitely come back to this Best Western location again, it raises the bar for other resorts!

"Best Place Of My Trip"
TripMeister86, 29 Avril 2016

my experience was great this place has all you need in an all inclusive. the ocean view is wonderful and since you are in a cove you get nice privacy. The food is wonderful and this resort is only a short ride away from some of the most beautiful beaches i have ever seen.

"Best western jaco beach"
-_BrandonC_1234, 28 Avril 2016

This is an amazing place to stay! There are so many thing to do, you can go to the beach, swim in the ocean, swim in the pool, play tennis, play volleyball, and much more. The food is really good. The rooms are very nice, and the area around the hotel is very nice as well. The staff at this hotel are all very friendly too.

"Absolutely amazing!"
SkizzyHarbs, 28 Avril 2016

The Best Western located at Jaco Beach was completely worth the stay! There was exceptional service and very good food provided in the bar area. The views were stunning. You could look out and see a sunset on the beach and it was gorgeous. It's Oceanside, but also comes with a really nice, clean-kept pool to relax at as well. The complimentary breakfast buffet was delightful and the service was great also. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Great place to stay at and would highly recommend.

"BEST WESTERN IS BEST HOTEL"
Camryn P, 28 Avril 2016

AMAZING! I could not believe the views of this hotel, right on the beach with the ocean. This place is truly incredible, the food was amazing and had so many options to choose from, the staff from the bar tenders to the maids were amazing as I truly felt friendships between myself and them, there is so many options here from going to the beach, hanging out at the pool, shopping, eating and being at the bar. This place made the trip and will never be forgotten for the the memories that were made here!

"Everything you want a resort to be"
Alex K, 28 Avril 2016

All of the staff did an exceptional job with every task they performed. Our room had towels folded in an origami-fashion by the maid, in a different formation after each visit. The receptionists went above and beyond for any of our requests or questions. And the bartender was very personable, applauding me for attempting to speak Spanish. Even the cleaning crew that mopped that floors did so in a seamlessly synchronized manner, so much to the point that I expected them to burst into a choreographed song and dance. Aside from that, we had a lovely room with a view of the beach, which was a short distance from it, too! If you are looking for the ideal resort experience in Costa Rica, this place will not disappoint!

"Ocean side resort "
Jessica R, 28 Avril 2016

This resort overall was very clean with very friendly staff from the front desk to the house keepers to the bar tenders! Definitely very nice! Rooms were average but included a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. Ping pong tables etc. were set up along side a nice lounging area for guests. Decent little souvenir shop in the lobby as well. Pool was not the best as it was kind of shallow and would close early. However, being right on the ocean makes up for it. Beautiful ocean and great beach for surfing and viewing sunsets in the evening! The food was exceptional with a wide variety buffet. Food was also available all day at the bar to snack on. Overall had a good experience staying here!

"Bonita!"
Chantel S, 28 Avril 2016

This resort was amazing. The food was all you can eat and great quality. Every meal was a buffet with tons of different food options. Every room had a balcony, tv, air conditioning and in-room wifi! The hotel backs onto a wonderful beach and provides showers to rinse off all the sand of yourself when you come back. The pool isn't very deep (about 1m) however it was a great temperature and there is also a kids pool. The only drawback was that the pool closed fairly early. There is a gift shop to purchase souvenirs and many games tables such as pooltables, fuseball, pingpong etc!

"Very close to the beach!!"
Jenesa T, 27 Avril 2016

Food was fabulous! Lots of variety for every meal! Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Fun bar, little for live entertainment but very nice pool and so close to the ocean, very sandy beaches with walking distance in both directions. Rooms were comfortable. It is along a beach with lots of other resorts as well.

"Radical Resort !"
JScamrose, 27 Avril 2016

The resort was very clean and well maintained. The buffet was delicious with lots of variety. The resort had lots of amenities such as pool table, ping pong table, foosball, tennis courts, volleyball courts and a pool. Best of all it is located next to the ocean. The waves were great for surfing especially for beginners. You could stay here for a week and find lots of things to do.

"Jaco "
mjs910, 27 Avril 2016

This hotel/resort was very big. They had a really nice pool plus an ocean view and access to the beach. The rooms were nice with a balcony and air conditioning. They have a little gift shop and a tv, pool table and foosball table for all guests to access in the lobby. The bar and buffet was a great atmosphere and all the staff were very kind and friendly. The beach was kept clean as well as everywhere in the resort. The food was really good with lots of variety. I would definitely come back here the next time I am in Costa Rica.

"An unforgettable way to end our trip!"
Stephanie T, 27 Avril 2016

This was a wonderful place to end our trip on Costa Rica! This resort was so beautiful, the food was amazing and so were the people. The view from the hotel looked out onto the beach and the beautiful ocean. Each night we could go down to the beach at anytime, the staff was great and loved to make conversations with us. I loved that we could go get food at the bar at any time and get nonalcoholic drinks and food, I would have to say that this hotel was one of the best parts of our trip, from the bonfire and songs at the beach to being able to go out to the ocean whenever. I would recommend this place to everyone and I would definitely stay here again!

"amazing way to end our trip"
BrynZig, 26 Avril 2016

The room was very basic but clean, the pool was awesome and we had direct access to the beach which was very clean and had an amazing view of the daily sunsets. The buffet was amazing as we could experiment with the local food or stay close to home with more north american style dishes. All the staff were welcoming and the entertainment was great.

"All around Amazing"
Donnelly1313, 26 Avril 2016

The rooms were amazing, the beds were comfy, and the view was beautiful, but it was the staff that made this place so great. Everyone was happy and had a great sense of humour. The bartenders were especially good. Those guys were great.

"Wonderful view"
MaiyaBentley, 26 Avril 2016

This hotel welcomed you as soon as you stepped in, with wonderful staff. It is set up beautifully, with not a lot of walking to get from place to place. The beach is kept very nice and clean, with a place to rent surfboards and other things. The meals consisted of a very diverse buffet, that was delicious. The rooms were very clean, and average.

"Loved the beach "
Jayden N, 25 Avril 2016

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were super clean and the ac worked amazingly. The bar was great for my nonalcoholic beverages and the bartenders were kind and liked to try and make conversation. My favourite part of this hotel was the fact that it is directly connected to the ocean. It was my choice for swimming but the rip tides were fairly strong so if you aren't a strong swimmer id recommend the pool or if you do go in the ocean bring a friend or two. The food was really good here and there was a ton of variety (my favourite was the fish with butter sauce). I would definitely stay here again.

"Amazing view"
kh18116, 23 Avril 2016

This all inclusive resort provided a well rounded stay with great staff and amazing food. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and there were always a numerous choice of activities to choose from such as swimming, dancing, volleyball or music by the fire. The rooms were very basic but were well kept. Overall the sleep was alright, however there was a noticeable amount of noise at night. The resort backed right onto the ocean, which introduced a bit of the Costa Rican life style to the tourists (and also made for great photos!). Would recommend to families looking for a reasonably priced all inclusive resort.

"Great Food and People"
Ryan B, 22 Avril 2016

The Jaco Beach Best Western is an all inclusive resort on Costa Rica's beautiful coast. The resort itself has very clean rooms, great food and a nice small layout. Some rooms have a great view of the ocean while other face a blank wall. However, I recommend this Best Western for lower budget families or groups who still demand a comfortable, all inclusive resort.

"Beautiful"
Brittany R, 21 Avril 2016

Roons were very nice here where you feel closer to home. The backyard of the hotel is the ocean, which is simply gorgeous. The pool is very nice, but not very deep, the bar was excellent, always having music playing, and the food avaliable consisted of Costa Rican traditional foods, as well as American foods.

"Great Resort"
Shaconna R, 21 Avril 2016

This hotel has an amazing selection of food! Everything is very tasty. The staff are very professional and pleasant. The rooms were cleanly. The ocean view is gorgeous, although it is very rough. The pool was nice. Very relaxing hotel and would defiantly come here again.

"Great Resort for the money"
Rhonda A, 19 Avril 2016

This is an older resort but it is kept meticulously clean. The beds are a little hard but I have nothing negative to say. I've stayed here three times and I will go back again. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is the best around. There is nothing better than waking to have breakfast over looking the pool and ocean(you even see the occasional pair of Mccaws fly by) then walk a short distance to plant your chair in the sand for the day....I was sad to leave Saturday BUT I will be back!!

"Great Ocean Views"
Luke W, 18 Avril 2016

This place had great food, ocean views, and had a nice pool and bar. The rooms were a tad bit on the small side same with the bathrooms but were overall clean and tidy. The beach was a bit rocky but still quite beautiful. The food was quite varied and well made. Overall this was a quite nice place and i recommend it.

"Great Hotel"
Arabelle N, 16 Avril 2016

This place had a beautiful beach view and and fantastic pool. The beach was a bit rocky was it was still beautiful. The rooms were nice and the food was fantastic and had lots of variety. Overall the experience was excellent and very relaxing.

"I had a great experience here!"
kbonter, 14 Avril 2016

This hotel was such a great place to stay in! The location was great and was in walking distance of the beach. It also had an outdoor pool and the view from our room was spectacular. There was a pool table there and other games to play as well. The bar was really nice too. I definitely recommend this place.

"Excellent Ocean Views"
Shannon L, 14 Avril 2016

This place was great for the free food and drinks, but it was rather small and outdated. Rooms were okay, we had an excellent ocean view in ours. Having the hotel right on the beach was nice but the sand was very rocky and gritty, and the waves were extremely rough too. The sunsets were gorgeous, and we had an excellent time here.

"Great view "
Dayne N, 14 Avril 2016

This is by far the nicest hotel I was in while I was in Costa Rica they had a fantastic view amazing food multiple pools and a very nice lounge area the rooms were very nice and the balcony overlooking the ocean the sand was very nice

"Very pleasant trip"
beachbumdina, 13 Avril 2016

Rented car was traveling from Quanacaste had fun taking stops here and there as my husband speaks fluent Spanish. Was told town was not that great drugs prostitutes we did see some girls but you see that in everyplace in the world.went to local super markets we ate a lot of local food

"Highlight was the all inclusive."
Alexandra W, 12 Avril 2016

I loved this hotel, except for the pool i was expecting it to be bigger but the ocean was right by us so that was nice. I loved having free food and drinks basically whenever we wanted, that was awesome.

"Spectacular views"
kdbrown22, 11 Avril 2016

My stay at this resort was very good! Friendly service, very nice pools and views that can't get any better. Plus you're only a few steps from the ocean. Only thing I thought that could have been improved were the standard rooms. Very simple, not that great of beds, but just anyone needs. Overall, I was very pleased with this resort.

"It was pretty neat"
Jeffrey O, 10 Avril 2016

Food was good and rooms were very nice. People were friendly. The drinks could have been better though. The beach was okay but the waves were awesome and there was a surfboard available to rent. The highlight of my stay was the bonfire and a man with a guitar singing and jamming with us.

"Very Outdated"
DOSAMANTE, 08 Avril 2016

This is known to be one of the oldest hotels in the area and you can feel it as soon as you step in.. The room was one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, no ocean views, plastic chairs, balcony overlooking a building in construction and the most uncomfortable bed. On the other hand FOOD WAS AWESOME! We did not expect good food from this place at all but kudos to the chef for 5 star buffet experience for breakfast/lunch/dinner! Also the beach is a disappointment, if you stay here take day tours to other beaches so you can avoid the resort and just take advantage of free drinks and food.

"A hidden treasure"
Lynne C, 26 Mars 2016

I feel this all-inclusive resort is a treasure. My daughter is studying abroad for Spanish in San Jose and we were looking for something in close proximity from her home, to enjoy the culture, to see the beautiful country, to vacation at the beach, to be reasonably priced, to include meals and to accommodate for non-Spanish speaking visitors. We didn't want an expensive five star but I feel we got five-star amenities and services at four star prices. Totally affordable for a family and enough for everyone to do. The food was excellent....every meal, every day, a variety of options to satisfy all tastes.

"Great Spot with Family"
Avalanche408, 16 Mars 2016

After reading the reviews and focusing on the negative, I was hesitant to stay here and almost cancelled my reservation. I'm glad I didn't. We were very impressed with the resort. Very clean, secure, lots of food options and great access to the town and beach. While it wasn't perfect; we "lost" two hats and a pair of swim goggles at the pool, overall it was a great value. Something to note, the location is away from the downtown section and therefor was very quiet and insulated from the night life. We walked to the shops, etc one day but ended up driving the next because it was so hot in the middle of the day. Parking was easy and free. At the resort the kids (12, 10, 5) had a lot of fun using the pool table, foosball and ping-pong table. That was a nice bonus since the sun is really intense and we were looking for non-sun activities from 12-3. The pool was good but as other stated there is very little shade so the water is really warm and you have to hide yourself from the sun. We never had a problem finding a lounge chair in the shade. The beach was great but be aware the waves are big, at least from Connecticut standards. The first set of waves were small enough for our 5 year old to play in but he did get pushed around and wore a life jacket the whole time. The bigger kids and myself had a good time body surfing the second set of waves. We tried to get to the third set with boogie boards but could make it without getting slammed around. It was fun but we are novices. The nice part was during low tide the water is shallow around the second set of waves, about 3 ft, so we could stand and ride waves without too much worry. Plus you can ride a the wash of the wave in on a boogie board really far. High tide wasn't as much fun as the waves broke late and the water was deep. The resort had security at the front and back to make sure only guest got onto the property but there were so few people around. Even in the resort it seemed half filled most of the time. At certain periods during meals the restaurant filled up but never to the point of having to wait for a table. Speaking of the food, it was decent Costa Rican food with a mix of other stuff. Nothing out of this world but solid and with good variety. Fruit was great. Plenty of meat choices but with my vegetarian gluten free wife, she found lots of salad choices and was satisfied. Nobody got sick so that is a big plus for me. The rooms were kinda small but clean and new. TV, A/C and showers were fine. We stayed on first floor on the garden side. The view was of a wall and another building, not much to note. But we didn't spend much time on the small outdoor area, except to dry clothes. There was noise in the morning from the room above us. Some fool moving furniture around a 6:30 am and making a heck of a lot of racket. I was up so it didn't really matter but who does that? Also, the A/C was loud and right next to the bed. Kept me cold but almost too cold and too loud. The bar area was good. Really friendly staff. There was food there during the day; hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, nachos, fruit, coffee which was nice. All in all a good place to stay for a reasonable amount of money. The staff was helpful setting up a surf lesson and getting us anything we ask for.

"Jaco"
PCBillie, 14 Mars 2016

I loved taking my sunset pic @ Best Western in Jaco. Also loved the food, the non-stop drinks & activities. A very helpful staff who help us mk transportation arrangements to Puntarenas to catch our cruise. Never a dull moment from sunup til sundown...

"cheap cheap cheap"
giraffereno, 14 Mars 2016

Despite the high price, this all inclusive hotel is doing everything cheap. Untrained staff at chekin makes going in long and arduous. The clerk tried to use my AAA card as a credit card. Cheap plastic furniture and chairs in room. Noisy fan in bathroom with no possibility of shutting it off. Quality of food was at the level of school cafeteria. How can you serve fruits from a can in Costa Rica, where fresh fruits are plentiful? How can you serve lousy coffee in Costa Rica, where coffee grows? Wine was served from a box and tasted like vinegar. Absolutely no shade at the pool - no jaccuzzi - beach is very wide and rocky. We planned to stay 7 nights but left after 2 - we could not stand it anymore. They forced us to pay the 7 nights in advance and it was a battle to get refund for unused nights. It took 2 weeks for refund to appear on our credit card. I would not recommend this hotel.

"nice safe hotel"
snnnnnnnot, 12 Mars 2016

the food is great, it is very clean, staff is great. had a nice time on the tour through the rain forrest. the guide was wonderful. but donot take the trip by yourself. a guided trip is better and then you would not have to find a ride to and from airport to hotel.

"There is no Best about this hotel!"
Reneelg, 10 Mars 2016

Our stay at this hotel was part of Ecoterra arranged week in Costa Rica and pretty much ruined a great vacation. The front desk staff were rude and while the rooms were clean the beds were rock hard and the "furniture" were plastic lawn chairs. The water in the swimming pool was warmer than the water that we were able to get for our showers. Most of the wait and bar staff were cordial but the food was bland and pretty much the same every meal and drinks were served in small plastic cups. One female food server pulled a severe attitude after I asked her to not put dirty place mats that were hanging on the chair back on our table. After that, no one came to our table to take our drink order or refill our water glasses. I have her name and have reported her to BW corporate. The beach adjacent to this hotel was very rocky, not real clean and is really geared for surfing, not swimming. Again this was a huge disappointment for us and a bad way to end what was until then a beautiful vacation.

"In need of an upgrade"
jamesgD9720LI, 08 Mars 2016

Our stay here was part of an Ecoterra groupon. We were so pleased with our first destination, that we could not help but be disappointed in this one. Our room was clean, but incredibly dated, dull, and cheap looking. The in-room safe was not operational, the beds and pillows were uncomfortable, the desk and balcony were adorned with plastic lawn furniture, and there was not so much as a single cheap decoration to liven up the room. Our "garden view" was of a cistern and some nearby condos. Some of the staff were friendly, others not so much. The U.S. concept of a wash rag for showering was unknown to them. We were told to "use your hands". Most disappointing, we wanted to go to Playa Blanca, which we were told was just fantastic. The concierge quoted us $90 USD for a round-trip cab ride to the beach (a 15 minute drive), then added that I would have to somehow acquire a "special code" to access what we were told by others was a public beach. We felt it was simply a lie to keep us at the Best Western, which it did. The beach itself seemed rather dirty, and was best suited for surfers, not for swimmers. The central business district of Jaco did not inspire a feeling of security or safety for shopping, though we had no unpleasant incidents. The Best Western did have a nice bar between the dated pool and the beach, and did include food and unlimited drinks. They did have the only soft drink fountain that we saw in Costa Rica, but the food was bland and became redundant, and drinks could only be acquired in tiny little plastic cups. The drinks had great flavor, but apparently little alcohol. It was interesting to watch the iguanas interact with one another while relaxing by the pool, because there was nothing else to do. A highlight, however, was seeing the scarlet macaws that occasionally flew over the pool and roosted in the trees next door.

"Nice location"
KirstynNC, 06 Mars 2016

I know that it seems odd to stay at a Best Western when traveling abroad but this really is a nice little hotel. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was reasonably priced and quite clean and the location couldn't be beat! And may I add, the drinks at the bar were fantastic!

"It is located in the west but no needs for the word BEST!"
Yael K, 06 Mars 2016

We went there spontaneously, we did not have high expectations, it is all-inclusive hotel ...... indeed ,everything was included, but the level of food is so poor, drinks were provided in plastic cups, the food was served in plastic plates and the food tastes like plastic. not recommended at all.

"Only go if you have a great deal!"
KBdw, 05 Mars 2016

This hotel is well located and very clean with amazing staff. Everyone is hard working. We did find it over priced for what you get. The food was more misses then hits and dining hours seemed limited. We walked into town a few times to eat. The room- Good size and clean but the beds and pillows are rock hard and loud music coming from the disco can be heard over the ac. No mini fridge :( The beach is a bit dirty but its a public beach. The hotel could have sent someone out to clean the area right in front of the hotel but they didn't. No chairs or umbrellas which is a must I think a hotel should have. It is too hot not to use one. Three out of four times we went on the beach we rented beach chairs and umbrellas($14USD/day) They were available form private vendors about a five min walk both directions away from the hotel where the beach is much nicer. The beach isn't bad it's just not a sandy beach. there is sand at the shore break and in the water however as you get further up the beach the sand turns to tiny little pebbles. They are smooth and don't hurt to walk on but they do get very hot. There are sections of the beach that have larger pebbles both in the water and as you walk up. I imagine these areas move with different storms and weather so they may not always be where they were for our stay. I would recommend bringing water shoes. We have previously been to all incusives in antigua, veradero, cabrete in the DR and playa del carmen. When comparing the Jaco Best western to these resorts we noticed the following: No nightly entertainment. No water toys for club guests to use. No chairs or umbrellas on the beach. Only one place for meals and one for snacks. Two bars but no swim up ones. This place did have a pool table, a pinging table and a couple o fossil tables that all were outside but covered which was nice if you enjoy those activities. All in all it's not a bad place but if you go there expecting an all inclusive like in mexico you will be disappointed. Had we been better informed or done more research, for the price we paid, we would have opted for a hotel or condo and found places to eat or cook ourselves.

"Great except no pool services"
Elizabeth S, 02 Mars 2016

The hotel is very family oriented and great staff.. Located perfectly.. Just lack pool services and maybe a little upgrade in rocky bathrooms.. The view is perfect for sunset and food is great.. You could little walkout into a Main Street and feel safe..

"nice stay at beach front all-inclusive resort"
anthdancer, 22 Février 2016

We stayed for five day and five nights at Best Western Jaco. From the reviews on Tripadvisor we already expected a resort popular with locals and rated at 3-stars. We found the location to be perfect. It is on the beach and short walk from the town. The rooms are not luxurious but is clean and decently appointed. We thought the best thing was the spacious grounds. The property has a circular pool and also a kids pool. There is also a tennis court, kids playground, and several outdoor volley ball play areas. A pool table, ping-pong and 2 foosball tables are also available. There are planned activities for adults and kids. Parking is adequate. The buffet offers food that has good variety and taste, but it could be tiring after a few days. However, the pool bar always has hamburgers, hot doors, and nachos at the ready. We enjoyed the all-inclusiveness as it is very convenient, and the cocktail drinks at the bars are very good. We thought this hotel offers good value and we would stay here again.

"Pleasant Stay at Jaco Beach Best Western"
rogers1522, 20 Février 2016

My son and I stayed one week and were very pleased with this hotel. Attentive and friendly staff, excellent and varied food, and a well-maintained facility. Counter staff was helpful and fast. They paid a lot of attention to cleanliness in the room, the common areas (pool, lobby etc) and the food service area. The room was comfy, if not fancy, and the A/C was effective and quiet.

"Diamond in the rough."
george s, 03 Février 2016

I had never been to Costa Rica so initially I was looking for a VRBO on the ocean. The buildings we liked were all booked for our travel dates and because I wasn't familiar with the area I booked a week at the Best Western. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and functional. The ocean was terrific and you were within walking distance of the town and a resort casino. The variety of food was adequate and the fruit and vegetables were excellent. Several nice restaurants in the area if you wanted that experience. It was a great way to learn about Costa Rica and identify some interesting options.

"Costa Rica dreaming"
Alina C, 29 Janvier 2016

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Jaco Beach - Best Western. This was our 3rd stop on our 2 week journey throughout Costa Rica. Some of our relatives have stayed here before, however it was our first time here. We found the check in to be absolutely pleasant, efficient and friendly. I guess we are lucky that we speak some Spanish, but front desk staff spoke perfect English. The room we stayed in was amazingly clean, with a modern bathroom and TV. Our view was towards the pool, partially towards the ocean and the mountains - which we loved! The AC was God sent and the Wifi was an amazing treat and functioned the best we had experienced in the country. But yet again - vacationing in Costa Rica is not about wifi and having all your costumed North American facilities - is about taking in the culture, the beaches, the rain-forest, the modesty and warmth of the locals, the food, the puravida!! The food and drinks were delicious and the variety quite generous for both. We found the staff to be very helpful, respectful and friendly. Loved the proximity to the ocean, and yes I agree, a few more chairs on the beach might be helpful for the guests. What impressed us - was how much the hotel was up to Code re: accessibility- better than any hotel in North America. The sunsets are simply magical. We would love to return. Gracias por todo! Alina & Barry #puravida

"Food was good, Check-in a nightmare"
Debbie W, 26 Janvier 2016

This was an all-inclusive resort. It was a nice property. I did not have issues in my room, but the others in my group had roaches. Check in was a nightmare. The staff and manager were nasty. If I had never been to Best Western before, I would never go again. A list of activities each day would have been nice. The pool was nice. The beach was dirty. But most of the beaches were, as we took a tour for a week prior to coming to the Best Western.

"Best for families with kids"
camamare, 25 Janvier 2016

We had booked early arrival for 1 pm, but the guard at the gate told us we could not park our car in the lot until 3.... Unless we paid him $25 (under the table? Who knows)!! That was ridiculous, so we drove to town (not far) and had a few drinks to pass the time. We got back at 3, parked our car, and registered and received our green bracelets which enabled us to partake of the all-inclusive drinks and food. Registration went fast and the people were helpful. It was unbelievably HOT. And humid. Thank goodness the room had good AC. January is school vacation time in Costa Rica, and the one and only pool was filled to the brim with children. There was also an exercise teacher with a microphone yelling instructions at the pool, and a children's entertainer near the reception hall... Both using big speakers with their voices booming over the entire grounds of the hotel. The only way to escape is to go to the beach, which is really nice. But once you leave the grounds of the hotel and enter the beach, it is now a public beach, so the Best Western doesn't supply lounge chairs or umbrellas to sit at the beach. That's not a big problem... You can bring a towel and a hat, but we noticed another hotel further down the beach that does supply it's guests with chairs and umbrellas. I didn't get the name of that hotel, unfortunately. However, we did manage to find a nice grassy area of the hotel to lounge around under a tree and watch some Iguanas play that live on the grounds. Regarding our room: it was clean, had one queen bed and one twin bed. No fridge, but it did have a flat screen TV, and we found several English speaking channels. The hotel also has good WiFi. And good AC. The only problem with the room was where it was situated: just above one of the bars. And little did we know that their curfew for the bar disco is 2 a.m.! We wondered if the adults who were with their kids at the pool during the day were the same adults who were partying until 2am. Maybe the hotel supplies babysitting... Or maybe the kids were partying till 2 am too. Whatever, we didn't get much sleep. We enjoy dancing and music, but we thought 2 a.m was too late for blasting and thumping disco music. Especially when the guests rooms are just above the entertainment. All-inclusive means all food and drinks included, which was nice. The service at the bars and the restaurant was very good. The (alcohol) drinks were good, too, although we thought they were slightly watered down. You can have snacks nearly all day and you can dine at the restaurant buffet style. There is a large variety of food choices for everyone. I thought the food was bland, but ok. Maybe because they have to satisfy many different palates since this is a family hotel. All in all, I enjoyed our 2-night stay. I wouldn't stay longer than 2 nights, though.

"Better than Expected"
CanaTico, 15 Janvier 2016

We stayed at this property for two as guests of a relative.I am not an all inclusive type of traveler but I will say that I enjoyed my stay. The food was not outstanding but adequate with a decent amount of variety. The drinks and service were good. The grounds were fine, except that there was not near enough shade by the pool - not 1 umbrella - and the pool closed at 7:00pm which I thought was crazy. Rooms were fine but the shower only had very hot water. I must say that I injured my toe and when my uncle mentioned it to the staff, the duty manager arranged for prompt first aid and then followed up with an offer to arrange a free visit from a doctor, which I declined but appreciated the offer. Overall it was fine and I can see why some folks (especially with children) would appreciate this king of hotel; but for me I prefer smaller boutique properties with a variety of dining options.

"Restrictions of the hotel"
G1016QQmarco, 13 Janvier 2016

Hey People out there, I went to this hotel couple weeks ago and let me tell you that is not as nice as it looks, we could not even play with a ball in the swimming pool, thats NOT allowed by the hotel (Plastic ball)!! not even a drink in the edge of the pool! That's ridiculous! I do prefer to go to Tambor beach or somewhere else where i can enjoy my stay!

"Some Rough Edges"
Lori G, 03 Janvier 2016

This is not like some of the huge all-inclusives where the buffet stretches for a mile. But the food is good and varied. Tried a lot of their specialty drinks and they were all very good. The tiny elevators are very dirty and worn looking, the room smells very funky when you first walk in but once the air is on it improves. The rooms are very basic but clean. The bathroom had a pedestal sink (no counter) and only a tiny shelf so it wouldn't be great for more than one person's stuff. The pool is very shallow and closes at 7 p.m. which I thought strange since it is dead center on the resort. Get there early in the a.m. as the chairs in the shade are very limited. The pool aerobics instructor was great. They also had kids activities. The lunch bbq at the snack bar was ok, burgers, dogs, fries, nachos but the location was perfect if you were parked on a chair under one of the huge palm trees overlooking the beach and didn't feel like walking up to the restaurant. The resort itself is very pretty and the location is great, good beach access and just a couple of blocks away from the town, easy walk. The safe cost me $3 a day and had an ancient church key but they told me there will be all new safes and free begining in January. I'm not sure why they thought this info would make me feel better? Lower your expectations a little and you'll be fine, it's a very small resort.

"Good all inclusive value with lots of locals"
mammab397, 11 Décembre 2015

Staff could not be more attentive. The level of service was beyond expectations. Food was served buffet style, and was also quite good and varied though not exceptional. Still a great deal for the all-inclusive price, which included alcoholic beverages. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable, though decor somewhat bland and dated throughout hotel. Lots of renovation going on so maybe they are addressing this. wiFi in Rooms was very slow. Most of the guests appeared to be from Costa Rica which made my husband and I feel a bit out of place at first, but by the second day we were fine with it. Overall a great experience but be aware that this is not going to be a typical tourist hotel in Costa Rica with lots of Americans.

"Very good hotel - excellent food and beverages, all nclusive"
zh-frog, 05 Novembre 2015

The meals (all buffet style, all inclusive) were really great in variety and quality. And if you didn't get enough there are 2 bars open during daytime, all drinks (alcoholic, too) are inclusive. In the pool bar there is always a salad buffet and some bowls with "ready to eat" fruit, not to forget the barbecue with some warm dishes - all inclusive. My room was nice and clean. The aircondition worked very well and rather quietly.

"All Inclusive, all you need"
M_Grognon, 18 Octobre 2015

We where three fro the weekend, to runaway from Jaco's crowd. You can surf right in front of the hotel. I believe it is the only all inclusive in Jaco, so it is what you expect from this kind of hotel. Food is good, drinks are fine, the service is excellent!

"No water twice in one day!"
kip22_11, 15 Octobre 2015

First of all be aware that when you make reservations at an all-inclusive the computer defaults to one person. We were not aware of this and of course we got to the property we found out we only paid for one person so there was surprise number one. They started construction on the property at 7 o'clock in the morning which woke us up and then the water was off and there was no hot water from 7 to 8 and then again in the evening the water was shut off because of some problem in the kitchen for the second time that day. The food was passable and the drinks are free in an all inclusive and that's fine if you eat and drink a lot but the the room itself was mediocre and not having hot water during the day was also a problem.

"Soccer tournament visit"
Mike A, 10 Octobre 2015

Came out to Costa Rica with friends for soccer tournament. The resort was small and the restaurant was upstairs...I'm in a wheelchair and that was an inconvenience, but the staff was very accommodating. ..the bar staff was friendly and timely with the drinks...they had entertainment a few nights...1 young lady, Marion stood out...she did face painting and found a way to keep all ages involved with activities..also had a pretty good understanding of english...the surrounding clubs were all wheelchair accessible and so were the taxis...overall experience was pretty good...definitely considering a return visit

"Nice but a bit expensive"
Rolando R, 15 Septembre 2015

Not to have great expectations... tiny all inclusive hotel priced as if it was a huge place. At the same time I most admit that it is safe place on Jacó Beach Food was good. Almost no proteins but lots of carbs and grease. Drinks were good. Small pool. It is great if you travel with children. The People working there are nice and helpful

"Good Budget, Nice Staff Horrible first impression"
Laura J, 15 Septembre 2015

BE AWARE NOT TO SHOW UP BEFORE 3PM aka their check in time. My party arrived at 2pm and gave us the options of paying $45 dollars to SIT in their hotel or to leave and come back at 3pm. NOT a good impression, they were rude about it and we literately were not let back on the property until 3 pm. So many ways they could have improved this first encounter which is why I rated it "poor". The hotel was flooded and did not look very new. I will say the food staff and bartenders were GREAT! They were very nice and funny, the food and drink were good as well. Rooms are dull but clean.

"Enjoyed it, but could be better"
Scott M, 11 Septembre 2015

The penny pinching with the food and drink options put me off a bit. Otherwise it was an ok Hotel for Costa Rica. The included food and drink did help keep the costs down. If you have time to spare in Jaco then this is an ok hotel.

"Good time in Costa Rica"
MariolaUSA, 03 Septembre 2015

So I and my family went again to Costa Rica , this time we stay in Best Western Jaco Beach and Club in Jaco. Accommodation was not bad , we hardly stay in the hotel , we didn't took all inclusive because we do not want to be bound to the hotel. We like costarican food so we was dinning is soda ( small restaurant own by the family and serve home cooking meal). We rent a car so we was able to freely move around Costa Rica.So what about hotel , we were 4 people me and my husband and 2 teenagers girls, we had 2 joint rooms one had small microwave and small fridge.i give this hotel 3 stars only because refrigerator was broken 2 times, the elevator did not have any air conditioning and was stinky however the personnel was very nice and try to help as much as that can.the pool was always crowded, you can walk to the beach , take a bed and enjoy the high tides, water is not so safe because of the rip current. We went to many places around Costa Rica if you have a car you can travel alone save some money do not take a guide, we went to volcano Poas National Park, rain maker park, Manuel Antonio National Park and many more......

"The service was outstanding but the whole corporate thing about it was very poor"
Amber S, 16 Août 2015

I have to say the employees here were outstanding in service and friendliness. The outdoors of the place was beautiful weloved the bar and pool and view of everything. But as for the rooms they are nothing that you would expect from looking around outside. They need an upgrade and the air conditioner did not work good in the room. Here is the worst downside of it all. We arrived two hours early on our tour bus they have a contract with. They would not let us in without paying $35 each to come in and use there facilities( food and drink) not even with cash. We paid $224 for one night then we had to pay the extra for arriving early on the shuttle that they helped organize. I do realize that that is part of a corporate thing that the people who work there have nothing to do it because they were wonderful and its not there fault. The thing is if I'm paying $224 a night for a room and that's not including the shuttle to get there. I think we should at least be a little more appreciated and these big corporate hotels should at least let us have the room for 24 hours
