« Great place for affordable stay »

We had a wonderful stay. Awesome breakfast and good view. Located at the outskirts of Berne and right on the highway which is great if you are site seeing outside the city. Very helpful and friendly staff. Only thing was that I had to ask for directions for the hotel at the gas station but overall not a big issue.

« Nice Highway Hotel indeed »

The Grauholz is nicely located at the highway to Bern and near the Golfcourse in Schönbühl. Perfect place to stay for a night when avoding the travel home. Also the service of including Breakfast, Coffee, fruits and cake in the Lobby are a great experience. Just another way of welcoming guests. Bravo !!

    « Welcoming staff »

Stayed here for a trip to Bern, the hotel is conveniently located at a parking/stop area of the highway to Bern. My colleague and I were personally welcomed by the staff when we arrived somewhat later on the evening. Fine room, WiFi worked well. Breakfast (included) had a great selection. When I forgot my electric toothbrush in the shower, the hotel was so kind to send it to my home address in The Netherlands. What a great service!

    « Nice and easy »

Hotel has a free deserts bar, drinks, and fruit all evening with a breakfast buffet in the morning. Two Restaurants near are ok but pricy if you have a family plus they are a truck stop also. Buffett is worth 100euro for a family if you planned to eat somewhere and is the main reason we stay here when in Bern. Rooms are clean and adequate for a night stay. Close to old town.

    « Great central location »

We spent 3 nights there - close to Bern, Interlaken, chocolate factory, and many other enjoyable sites. Easy on easy off autobahn access. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Great evening snacks and breakfast. We will go back.

« Amiability, comfort, pleasure: A place to remind and to go!! »

Entering a hotel on highways is very often like a lottery. But fortunately sometimes you can win. This West Bestern Hotel Grauholz was a very nice discovery. It is certainly one of the very good Best Western. Certainly quite higher as the normal minimum Best Western standard. Extremely nice people very nice, comfortable and large rooms A very nice environment Fantastic breakfast Very good price Particularity: The hotel gives you the possibility to discover a very interesting book "From head to heart" by F.X. Bühler in at least 4 different languages. You may discover this lecture in your room and in case buy the book at a preferential price. We really appreciated.

    « Adequate when traveling »

Hotel Grauholz can only be reached by the Autobahn. Trying to travel around Switzerland on small roads avoiding to have to buy the 33 € entry ticket into the country: Forget it. Trying to drive from Zollikofen which is about 200 m away to the hotel Grauholz you have to detour to the Autobahn and drive about 6 km before reaching 'the other side of the fence'. It is a good hotel to stay overnight if you're traveling through, or if you are just staying shortly in the area. Hotel bar? There's none, they do not serve alcohol as the hotel is fenced in close to the Autobahn and they are not allowed to serve motorists any form of alcohol. Instead they have a counter on which you can find all sorts of other beverages for free. Even though it is located so close to the the autobahn, it is relatively quiet... until about 5 in the morning, it then becomes noticeable that you are actually 'on the road'. Breakfast was great, no wishes; personnel was very friendly. When we arrived I mentioned my booking number; shee looked at my smiling, shaking her head and said: Here you are not just a number, I want to know you name. I thought that was cute :)

    « Stay somewhere else »

We traveled from Seattle-DC-London-Zurich then drove two hours to this hotel. We checked in and all I was wanted was some food and a cold beer. Come to find out they don't serve alcohol because they're connected to the highway. They also have a restaurant, but it's not in the hotel, it's down the hill in the truck stop, which we skipped, which after reading reviews, I'm glad we did. AC didn't work, so sleep was uncomfortable. Not much value for the price ($220+ USD) We actually moved to another hotel in downtown Bern.

« Good hotel off the Autoroute »

A 3 star hotel at a Autobahn service station at Grauholz on the Bern-Zurich autobahn. I stopped of here as I couldn't be bothered to drive into Bern itself, so luckly at this service station there was a Best Western hotel. The price for 2 persons (double bed) cost me around £110, but luckly I could afford this. I nearly walked away, but when they said free wi-fi internet, free soft drinks and fruits and breakfast as well, it had to be taken. It was more of a 4 star hotel than a 3 star hotel, and the service I got from staff was fantastic! Very helpful and most staff speak three languages, German, French, and English. The rooms were great, spacious, and clean, same with the washrooms. The telvisions are with the latest technology, some sort of internet television with all the television channels needed if you don't speak english! Doh! The breakfast is the average european contiential breakfast, but they did have very nice youguhts! Yummy! Just one snag, you can only reach this hotel with a car as it is on a autobahn service station! :)
