"The definition of average"
ProfessorCool, 20 Février 2024

THE GOOD: front desk staff was great! quick and easy check-in and check-out; rooms are quite large with microwave and fridge; parking seemed adequate; near a small shopping center, Walgreens and a Dunkin'; beds were comfortable. THE NOT SO GOOD: found hair in my bathroom sink and shower; shower faucet didn't stream well; fridge had leftover food from previous guest; one of our rooms had a toilet that wouldn't flush but they moved us upon request. BOTTOM LINE: for the price we didn't expect much but they need to be better at cleaning rooms; and the breakfast could use more options. Not sure I'd stay here again.

"Clean hotel with a great breakfast"
amyj0_99, 12 Février 2024

The hotel was clean, room was spacious, and the breakfast was above average. The only thing lacking was the firmness of the pillows. Had to use multiple ones. Was confused at first that the door handle pulls up.

"Worst experience"
502trailblazer568995, 09 Février 2024

I arrived at best Western University, and went to my room. The door knob, not work when I got into the room. The door of the dresser was half off. The bed had hair on it, and the toilet was disgusting The hallways were filthy, The doors to the entrances of the motel hadn't been cleaned, and God knows when. My phone didn't work they had to change it three times so I couldn't call the desk if I needed anything it was horrid

"Cozy Room"
Scott V, 24 Décembre 2023

I stayed at a very nice and cozy Best Western in Ithaca New York. The room was very clean and appeared new. There was a fireplace and a mantle in the room that really made the room nice. Breakfast was very good plus a late check out of 12 pm was nice. I recommend this hotel.

"Great stay"
stuartward2023, 07 Décembre 2023

Great stay and great staff. My room was clean and comfortable. Staff was warm and friendly. I enjoyed the variety at breakfast, and the hallways were clean and clutter free. The bathrooms were spacious and well lit.

"Noisy hallway and room theft"
DanFromSyracuse, 07 Novembre 2023

Had trouble with college students partying on my floor until 3am. Hotel notified them around 12am that they were being too noisy, but it didn't help. On checking out, I had accidentally left a toiletry bag with a Braun shaver in it, and after calling the hotel about it when I arrived home, I was told that Housekeeping didn't find it, with no offer to file a loss claim or to compensate me for the theft. Will not be staying there again.

"Parents Weekend Ithaca"
Meander325280, 03 Novembre 2023

Extremely expensive, nice people, very uncomfortable mattress, not clean, Would not stay here given other choices. Location was good. Very unfortunate that they take such advantage price wise for parents weekend. Would not stay here again.

"They are pet friendly and comfortable to stay!"
chengyang4102, 29 Octobre 2023

They are pet friendly and comfortable to stay! Room is clean and quiet and comfortable! And the price is fair and affordable! If you have pet this is great choice to go to. Might choose Best Western again in the future.

"Excellent"
richardtrout1982, 08 Septembre 2023

This hotel is and always has provided excellent service and accommodations Fromt desk has always been very helpful and willing to help even if it is a complaint and they take care of the issues right away

"Great BW hotel."
Karthik K, 06 Septembre 2023

I am not exaggerating. This is one of the nicest BW Hotels we have stayed in. The only thing we did not like was the smelly corridor walking to the room. But the room was spacious, nicely done, great bed, great bathroom, nice location, pretty decent continental breakfast and availability of Charging (with a Fee) for our Tesla. They even had multiple free juices, free coffee (both from machines), ice water and some fruits, 24x7 in the dining hall. What more can you ask for!!! Nice quiet location and not far from the Ithaca Cornell campus. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Pretty Good"
Candy F, 22 Juillet 2023

Overall, the hotel was clean. Staff was fairly friendly. I was disappointed that they insisted on the "block rate" for our high school reunion, but I qualified as a senior and they only credited me the senior rate on the very late night that i stayed.

"Poor example for Best Western"
terrybuchalter, 10 Juillet 2023

As members of the Best Western chain we have come to expect a far better level of quality. This location failed to meet our expectations. The rooms are sorely in need of upgrading and renovation. The furnishings were worn and dated. The shower head was unable to produce a controlled flow. The hallways had a musty aroma that may be related to the need for replacement of the carpeting. When we asked on the first morning of a two day stay if we should expect our room to be refreshed, we were informed that we would have needed to make that request when we arrived. We found the cost of this stay to be excessive, at more than twice what we paid at another, far superior Best Western location two days prior to this stay.

"Not clean."
gk3891, 13 Juin 2023

Strong odor in room and hall. Halls dingy and not clean. Breakfast was not good. Walls in room dirty. Staff seemed indifferent, except Jodh who shuttled us to wedding. Very personable. For $225, I expected a lot more.

"Extremely Disappointing Stay"
E-Geiger, 12 Juin 2023

My recent stay at this hotel was incredibly disappointing. From start to finish, it was a series of frustrations that left me highly dissatisfied. First, the hotel's security was lacking. The supposedly locked doors were broken, raising concerns about safety and access to the building. Upon arrival, I encountered three individuals in the parking lot drinking beer and one of them urinating by his truck. It was a distasteful scene that set the tone for what followed. The first room I was given had a malfunctioning refrigerator and a non-functional phone. The second room was even worse, with poor cleanliness and various stains throughout. The third room had a broken window, leaving it wide open and compromising my sense of security. The staff at the front desk were accommodating in moving me to different rooms, but the overall experience was far from satisfactory. Cleanliness and attention to detail were severely lacking. It was evident that basic maintenance and cleanliness standards were not met. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. It was a frustrating experience that fell far below acceptable standards. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements. In summary, my stay was marred by broken security, unsanitary conditions, and a lack of attention to guest comfort. Look elsewhere for a more satisfactory accommodation.

"Very Convenient"
mwygmans, 02 Juin 2023

We use Best Western near Cornell University when we take our animals to their Animal Hospital for procedures that take a few hours. I had no idea that you could reserve a room for a "day use" for a few hours, but once I discovered that we can do this at BW, we do it 3-4 times a year. The rate is excellent, the staff is great, location is perfect for our use. I highly recommend.

"see above—utterly unsatisfactory"
earnoldliz, 27 Mai 2023

This hotel charges me over $300. I chose it because I drive an ev and they have chargers. I couldn't make the charger work. It's not ChargePoint or any company I've heard of. I tied and tried then went to the desk. The people there said they didn't have any idea how to work them. Somebody else installed them and they had bo idea. One person, a man, called me “lady” in a derogatory way, like it was all MY fault. I need to charge overnight to get to my next destination, my next charging station. I paid a great deal of money to stay here for this reason. These two desk people basically threw a business card at me and said calm this guy, the manager. Why shoul I be the one calling him I asked. Shouldn't you be the one to speak with him? She said he's out of town. I said so this is why you gave ms his number? They were utterly unprofessional. I'll shocked former visitors have given this place high reviews. This e petit cr with the staff is unacceptable ti put it mildly! And the rugs in my room are filthy, greasy. D- at best. Incredible! I'm in danger bc they don't know how to work the ev chargers. Training for an hour or less would be a light for them. Management is to blame as well. And the owners of the place. Why choose an obscure company to save a couple of bucks when you could do easily make your customers happy with useable chargers? In this sense the staff is understandably frustrated. I want my money back! NOW.

"Good basic accomodations."
tombantle, 22 Janvier 2023

Very pleasant welcome. Room was clean, if not particularly newly furnished. Was on a level below the office: good for parking, but just as inside stair. Rather oddly had a large hot tup in the main room. Lighting was plentiful, not the dim bulbs you get some places. Lots of convenient plugs for charging. Breakfast was OK+. Rotating menu of hot dishes. Eggs seemed powdered but had red and green pepper strips. Bacon was thin, but nice and crispy. Good orange juice. Did have a broken loop on door which you couldn't fasten as an additional security measure.

"Rough place to stay."
940grantb, 23 Décembre 2022

There was empty cracker boxes laying around when we checked in. The heater/ac unit has a loud whistle and you have to kick it to make it stop. The water in the shower only got Luke warm. The bedding is very thin and I had to use the blanket from the extra bed (double room) so I could stay warm, because the heater doesn't work the best Andy's 4 degrees outside.

"An overall pleasant experience"
X4555DOtony, 29 Octobre 2022

I was trying to book a room on Parents Weekend for Cornell, and this Best Western was the only hotel in town with rooms still available. I really wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be a great choice for me. The room was way nicer than I expected, better than rooms I typically stay in at pricier hotels. It was quiet, which I always appreciate, and the staff was friendly. The only flaw in the experience was that the bathroom had no soap or shampoo when I checked in -- an inconvenience that was easily addressed with a call to the front desk.

"Disappointed"
asanc75, 23 Octobre 2022

If the rooms were cleaner and the carpets replaced it wouldn't be that bad. There was dust everywhere, hair on the sheets and dust in evey crevace of rhe carpet. The fireplace didn't work either. The bathroom was good though.

"Friendly and attentive staff"
matott13, 13 Octobre 2022

The staff really went above and beyond to make me feel valued. They were attentive and very helpful all the while seeming to be genuinely happy to help. It's difficult these days to find great staff let alone people that appear to enjoy their job.

"No Best Western Ever"
leslie032022, 03 Octobre 2022

Very dirty hotel. Very smelly. Sheets were dirty and bug infested. Beds were not updated. Springs were exposed. Paper products not replenished. Staff did not offer to change sheets or look at our first room.

"Decent room, comfortable bed but a few issues"
laurengH5886AA, 05 Août 2022

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in August 2022 . I had booked our reservation 2 months prior but when I arrived was told by the gentleman at the desk that there was no reservation under my name. I'm glad i kept my cool and asked him to look up our confirmation number because he then was able to find the reservation (booked under my name). This was a somewhat unpleasant way to start our stay at this hotel but the gentleman seemed very overwhelmed as he was on the desk alone and had a line of people to check in. Our room was ok, seemed clean enough. The king bed was comfortable though the pillows could have been nicer (luckily we brought our own pillows). The main issue we experienced during our stay was lack of security. Three of the 4 nights that we stayed there there were a number of folks hanging around outside smoking (cigarettes and weed) and at the end of the long hall where we were located there was a group that was having nightly barbeques just outside the door. There was no security on any of the doors to the outside which seemed unsafe to me. There seemed to be a lot of folks loitering around the property, smoking and drinking and it seemed like many of them were not hotel guests. if I had been traveling alone i would have felt very unsafe at this property. Some security features around this hotel would elevate it quite a bit. Overall we had a nice stay in Ithaca but I would think twice before staying at this hotel, especially if I was traveling alone.

"Clean, comfortable and convenient"
LMSpector, 01 Août 2022

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western University Inn. The location was convenient, the room and hotel grounds were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The room had a sofa bed and could accommodate our family of five. Breakfast was good; items well-stocked and breakfast room was spacious and uncrowded. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Pool looked clean, although we did not use it during our stay. Great value for a summer visit to Ithaca!

"No Heart, No Humanity, No Consideration - Worst Western!"
Aurora03, 22 Juillet 2022

We planned this vacation in the upstate NY area with stops in Ithaca and Thousand Islands. We were really looking forward to the vacation and then as it happens with life - unexpected & unwanted challenges and obstacles that mess with best-laid plans. The day before we were supposed to leave, I got really sick with a very high fever, sore throat, severe headache, vomiting, etc. It was a long 6-hour drive from where we live and there was no way I could make it. I was literally 10-12 hours after the cancellation window of my booking with this hotel closed. I called the main reservation number to see if they could help, they gave me the customer relations number which would open 3 hours later. The lady at the customer relations number was very friendly and took a lot of time gathering information from us, showing a lot of concern & understanding for my health, etc. which raised our hopes that she might actually be able to cancel our reservation without penalty. But she could not do anything about it. Apparently, individual properties can decide if they want to be flexible about it or not so she contacted this specific hotel and they refused to do anything at all. We were even okay with getting credit for a future stay because we still plan to get that vacation in that area. They would not budge and charged us $220+ for one night's stay before canceling our reservation. No one likes to, wants to, or plans to cancel vacations. In the current stressful times and with the current economy, vacation is the one small relief we have. Some amount of flexibility, humanity, and consideration would not be such a bad thing for any business to earn goodwill from customers. None is present at this hotel & the parent company does not seem to have any say in what individual hotels do. I can understand if it was a small mom & pop/family owned / boutique hotel that can't easily fill rooms nor can afford to lose money but a big chain like this surely can easily do it. The hotel had no rooms available otherwise for that night so it is not like they were dying for business. I know what the cancelation policy is and anyone can rigidly follow the policy, it is when a hotel does things above & beyond & outside the box that makes them special and worth giving repeat business. If I can help it, we will never be staying at a Best Western again as it is the Worst Western! Oh, our hotel in Thousand Island for the same vacation had a cancellation policy of 7 days cancellation before arrival and they allowed us to cancel it the day before arrival without giving us any hard time about it - so it can be done!

"Wonderful Staff & Facility"
Flyer47200725051, 19 Juillet 2022

The staff was top notch! Stephanie and Les at the front desk in pm along with Bob who took care of all of our room needs. Stephanie was warm, friendly, compassionate...very kind & sincere. Les followed suit and was very easy to speak with. The three of them are a terrific team! Kyle, the morning desk person, was also very kind and friendly. The breakfast women were attentive and accommodating. I recommend this hotel! John S

"Dirty, run down"
d0gm0m4, 09 Juillet 2022

This hotel allows guests to BBQ right outside the exit door. Smoke from cigarettes and the grill was coming under the door and into our room. Disgusting. Room was dirty. Building & grounds not maintained. Stay elsewhere!

"3 nights in July 2022"
Keith M, 05 Juillet 2022

We stayed at this hotel because it was part of a group package for a tennis tournament. I would not stay here again. Let me first say that the staff was very nice and the breakfast was ok. Outside of that not many other redeeming qualities. The owners really need to update this hotel. The rooms smelled of smoke when you walked in them. The A/C barely worked (either full blast or nothing) and made an awful sound. There were stains on the sheets so I had to ask for a change of sheets. The second set wasn't much better. Overall just don't stay here. Find a different place.

"Worst hotel ever"
FarAway516760, 01 Juillet 2022

We came with my family and we a d we had the worst experience ever at a hotel. The personal was rude and they didn't give any solutions to any situations. First no Pool towels, they didn't clean out rooms and they charged us for the messy dirty rooms. The manager was the worst of all, he yelled to me and my mom in our faces. The rooms had old rugs. Don't ever come to this hotel. It has nothing good to offer.

"Worst place I've ever stayed"
nilg445, 28 Juin 2022

Room was not clean. Overpriced, laud conversations in holeways, air-condition died in the middle of the night, reception doesnt answer the phone, pillows were ridiculously small.for what they provided

"Over Priced"
Veronica K, 14 Juin 2022

The prices at this motel were comparable to 4 star hotels. Not worth the money, I feel they took advantage of an reunion event going on in the area of which I was not a part of. I stayed here 6 months ago for 1/3 of the price and assumed they must have renovated since then to justify the rate increase, I was wrong, the quality of the room went down.

Bob, the shuttle driver was very helpful too. He gave us lots of information about the town and things to do. The breakfast was good. Kyle(breakfast bar), did a fantastic job keeping all the food replenished and hot for our large group. She also helped with provisions for our team dinner on Saturday night. "Average"
DitaEE, 29 Avril 2022

Room was clean and appeared newly renovated. Bedding was sparse, no blankets offered in the closet. Very disappointed in the water temperature, water never got above lukewarm, was unable to use the beautiful soaking tub due to water temperature. Breakfast was average, not a fan of powdered scramble eggs. Staff were friendly and efficient in cleaning.

"Fantastic stay, not new but clean, convenient, great overall"
estefaniab365, 18 Avril 2022

My room was very large, easy access from the parking area, staff was extra nice, accommodating, big window with nice view, clean. Not renovated, 80s style but totally fine. Stephanie was especially nice, thank you will come back yet again!

"Not worth 127.00 dollars"
lifeisgoodpd, 30 Mars 2022

Upon arrival to check in the lobby smelled like sewer. There was quiet a bit of actively growing mold in the shower and rust on the bottom of the tub. Very dusty and overall not clean. I chose this hotel one it was close to Cornell University and two every other hotel close by wanted 75 to 100 dollars non refundable pet fee. I'm sorry I chose to be cheep. Take my advice and stay someplace else.

"Convenient to Cornell"
drcarls0n, 28 Mars 2022

While this hotel is not the fanciest, it was a very convenient option for us to stay so we could attend a function at Cornell University. We were also able to request a pet friendly room so our dog could stay with us. In my opinion this made the Best Western a great value for the price. It was quiet and the staff were very polite. The hotel breakfast was fully stocked and kept clean. The hotel is also right next to a plaza with everything you might need (grocery, gas, restaurant, liquor store). We will stay again when in town.

"Nice. Clean. Comfy beds."
Kimberly W, 27 Mars 2022

They hit the important points. Clean. No bedspreads that leave you wondering. Great water pressure. Quiet location. Plenty of towels. Nice complementary do-it-yourself breakfast with lots of selection.

"Pleasant Stay"
plakshman, 19 Mars 2022

The hotel is close to Cornell University. There is bust stop next to the Hotel. Staff are very friendly and caring. They also have arranged transfer to the University and to downtown to my Return Bus to New York.

"It's alright"
Esuvat B, 03 Janvier 2022

Definitely an ok place to stay.. nothing stands out to be too bad but nothing too good either. Rooms have a slight smoky smell and the signs to find buildings were a little hard to spot. The reception area is not really impressive, just a functional thing. Safe to stay, ok food and ok area.

"Wonderful Stay"
tabby21330, 29 Décembre 2021

I had a wonderful stay. The room was much more modern and beautiful than I expected. Most of the pictures I seen online must've been prior to a renovation or update. All of the staff was friendly, pleasant, beyond helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of options. The complimentary shuttle was a great perk and the driver was friendly and helpful.

"Overpriced and low quality"
Z8979FKanna, 16 Octobre 2021

We were disappointed with the quality of this hotel. The first room we were given had a very strong smell of smoke, like someone had recently been in the room smoking (it was a non smoking room). In the second room, one of the double beds in our room was broken and fell to the floor when we sat on it. The mattress also had no springs left, so we slept on the second bed which was better. The tub floor was filthy and there was dust and hair on the soap shelf in the shower which made the bathroom feel very gross. The remote for the tv had no batteries and when we went to the front desk to get some, no one came in the 20 minutes we were there. It was an overall negative experience and for the $280 per night it definitely was way overpriced.

"Dirty, tired, and unsafe"
nicolewalloway, 12 Octobre 2021

Dark “murder” halls were unlocked to the parking lot with no security, door did not shut unless slammed, tub stained, torn sheets, dim lights, broken window, smell of cigarettes. Old carpet and mattresses. Coffee machine broke, and the Dunkin' coffee they brought in ran out before 10am. Terrible and hugely overpriced.

"Super neat and clean"
westhamptontennis, 12 Octobre 2021

Full Disclosure : As a former highly honored Inn owner/operator, I understand the challenges of operating accommodations. I don't believe I've ever written a bad review despite the fact some properties deserved them. However, I wouldn't write a good review unless I also feel deserved. This property is not fancy. However, our room had been renovated nicely and was super neat and clean. Wifi worked well. Staff very accommodating. Totally met our expectation levels. Thanks Peter

"Felt like a Trailer Park!"
Hoach, 15 Septembre 2021

I thought I booked a hotel room in Ithaca. This property seemed to cater to long-term guests, mostly construction workers. Outside my room, in the parking lot, I saw nightly cookouts on BBQ grills, people sitting in their lawn chairs, playing music, drinking beers as if it was their backyards. The room was fair but several walls looked as if they had been used as a target for beer cans leaving streaks across the entire wall. The carpet always felt damp, sticky, and a bit dirty. The room needed some dusting, particularly the lamps. Each time I left my room to go outside I would run into groups of people smoking and drinking. The breakfast was good, staff was pleasant but this is a place I couldn't recommend. For the price, I could find much better accommodations in Ithaca. I will visit Ithaca again but will not consider this property. The owner needs to get the Cornell Hotel folks to spend a few days here and get some feedback!

"Ithaca Trip"
Laura M, 12 Août 2021

Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating, We will definitely be returning this coming school year if and when the USA opens the land border to Canadians. Prior to COVID, we travelled to Ithaca quite frequently throughout the school year to visit our son.

"not the best Best Western"
mmz77, 09 Août 2021

We were very disappointed. The pros: 1) The bathroom was clean and spacious. 2) The beds were comfortable. 3) Overall friendly staff. The cons: 1) The huge stain on one of the sheets. 2) The A/C didn't work very well. In order to cool the room off, we had to leave the fan on high all night long. It was very loud. 3) The door to the room and the door to the bathroom were warped. The door to the room had to be shoved or yanked open, and the door to the bathroom couldn't be closed all the way without difficulty (and you then risked not being able to open it again). 4) No security - none of the outside doors lock. 5) The pool wasn't very clean. 6) Although the staff was friendly, the front desk clerk in the afternoon wasn't very present. Every time I approached the desk, I had to call out and wait for her to appear. 7) The entire property is generally in need of an update, but unless more attention is paid to details than currently seems to be the case, I wouldn't trust an updated status. 8) The price, although perhaps comparable to other hotels in the area, is much too high for the quality of the accommodations. We will stay elsewhere next time.

"Great price for a above average room."
Katherine M, 12 Juin 2021

We stayed here for three days and were pleasantly surprised from the minute we opened the door. Our room was spotless and more spacious than we expected with a fireplace and comfortable beds. The bathroom was quite large with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels and we each had our own sink. This would be a perfect room for a family or two couples rooming together. This location was on one of the many hills above Cornell University (the university owns the land the hotel is on) and a bit hard to find by gps late at night. The wifi was adequate for our needs and there were plenty of plugs for electronics. Breakfast was a typical BW "to go" bag during the end of covid restrictions in NY. The staff were all very pleasant and professional. The location is a bit isolated from the center of Ithaca but there are a few restaurant choices in the shopping center nearby if you don't want to fight for parking in Ithaca. There was plenty of parking and the hotel was laid out with a few separate banks of rooms. Our bank of rooms was the furthest from the lobby but was very secluded and quiet. This was the largest room we every stayed in without a large price tag. We would definitely stay here again.

"*Buyer Beware*"
megnk22, 19 Mars 2021

The hotel cancelled our reservation due to Cornell “buying out the property for a month”. However, we were never contacted about the cancellation. When we arrived the front desk, Anna was very hostile towards us when we tried to check in. Apparently it was our fault that we were never contacted about the cancellation because we did not provide our proper information when making the reservation? She quickly mentioned walking us to another hotel but never actually came through with that offer. After an unnecessarily aggressive further conversation and calling to “contact the manager”they were able to accommodate us for the 1 night of our reservation in the hotel. After asking for a business card for the manager I was told “Oh she didn't leave any but her name is on the door, Terry Terry”. I don't think I have ever been treated so poorly while being a guest at a hotel. The scenario should not have happened especially if they were going to accommodate us anyway. When we finally got to a room it smelled terrible of smoke and hardly looked cleaned. There was a mini alcohol bottle by the bed, broken furniture, smeared dirty windows, ripped cups and dirty coffee makers rusty bathtub, blood on the shower curtain, and a constantly running toilet. I would not recommend this property or their customer service. I was told nothing could be done for us or any offers be made so I want others to know and beware of selecting this property, good value or not.

"Clean room,great price"
bfandn, 08 Février 2021

Wife and I stay at a hotel in Ithaca for the super bowl each year. So this year we went to Best Western University Inn. After reading some poor reviews we had some trepidation at check in. Check in was quick, easy and followed the covid rules. The room was clean and spacious, bathroom up to date. But, the hot water was not very hot. The bed had seen better days. For just $50 a night we could not complain. If your looking for a clean room on a budget price this is hard to beat.

"Ok but Won't book here again"
cathie315, 01 Février 2021

The internet security is outdated. Kept getting security error when trying to connect for work and my kids try to connect to school. Even my personal device got the same error. On top of that no microwave in the room. By I made it from the microwave in common area go outside and back to my room my food is cold.

"Cornell Small Animal Hospital Visit"
Fred F, 17 Décembre 2020

We stay at the Best Western University Inn 2-3 times a year as we visit Cornell Vet Hospital for our dog's Vet appointments. It is convenient to Cornell and surrounding amenities. The Manager Terry Terry and Staff are professional, courteous, and compassionate to our needs and that of our beloved little dog under Cornell Vet Care. We highly recommend to all.

"A DUMP"

Spend 20 OR 40 more dollars and go elsewhere Sheets and pillowcases were stained ..ROOMS SMELLS LIKE AN ASHTRAY PERMANENT DRUG ADDICTED FAMILIES LIVE THERE! Nastiest hotel room i have ever rented. Do not read other reviews...FAKE...NASTY!!!!

"Ugh. Filthy"
LeeJ903, 15 Août 2020

We have been BW customers for years. At the quoted price at this season, we knew it was not a 4 star venue. We were really not prepared for the level of incompetence and lack of professionalism. TV did not have a remote and when it arrived (after three calls to the front desk), it did not work. There was 1 piece of Kleenex in the box. Worst was the very apparent lack of thorough cleaning in this day of COVID. Maybe surface wiping, but next to the A/C unit was this beauty patch. (see picture). Obviously the result of long ignoring. Don't bother.

"Cute room"
tosham506, 03 Août 2020

My son, husband, and I stayed for one night so we could enjoy the scenery and hike on the trails and walk through the gorges. The room was nice. We had a couple issues. One, our fridge and microwave smelled of fish. Second, there were lots of fruit flies in our room. It was quite are to eat our meals we ordered through door dash and the fruit flies kept trying to land on it. Rather than that it was delightful.

"Horrible Experience"
393herzogr, 24 Juillet 2020

No recognition for Diamond Reward member at check in. Room was dirty, no amenities in room including soap at a time of Covid 19, running toilet, flies. After being in the room for less than 10 minutes we went to desk and said we were not staying. They tried to give us a different room which they said was cleaner, we refused. They told us they could not refund our money. The manager's parting remark was that we would not find another hotel since everything was booked....we got an immaculate room at a Holiday Inn without any problem.

"Comfortable Quarantine"
emilykadish, 17 Juillet 2020

I had to self-isolate following a Covid test, and I wasn't able to do that at home. The staff made my booking easy - and totally contactless. While I wasn't thrilled with the reason for my stay, I'm glad I was able to stay there. (My results were negative, by the way!)

"Traipsing thru the Finger Laked"
tsar81165, 17 Juillet 2020

I go to Ithaca every so often to hike around and was given this hotel 4th of July weekend by one of those travel services where you see a price and they choose the location. Big mistake. This place isn't near anything let alone the college. I should have known something was up when I had to drive across the grass off Summerhill road to get to the parking lot because the back entrance was chained off. The property is depressing and looks like it hasn't been upgraded in decades. The front clerk was rude with a 'tude telling me if I didn't like it I could hit the brix. No big deal. I gave her some of that back so it wasn't an issue. Room had coffee maker, fridge and good AC and that's all I really look for. Bed was fine. TV had no premium stations but that's ok. They supposedly had a great breakfast but because of the covid they give you a brown bag with an apple, muffin, rice crispy treat and water. The real issue for me was there was no washer or dryer on property, not even laundromats nearby. That hurt because I had planned on doing laundry when I was there. This is also a trans/res place meaning in addition to the transient guests there are people who live here. Doesn't bother me but it might bother some. I fully expect this place to be condemned by this time next year. Should have gone with the Super 8 I usually stay at on Elmira road.

"Wonderful, personal service"
mtbruns, 15 Juillet 2020

The team here took great care of a loved one who needed to stay suddenly. Jim McMann always goes above and beyond-- the whole team should be proud to be providing wonderful service. This is my go-to recommendation for anyone traveling to visit us in the area.

"Appointment at Cornel Animal Hospital"
ffowler5261, 19 Juin 2020

The Best Western Hotel is convenient to the Cornell Vet Hospital. The Manager & Employees were gracious, helpful, & understanding. The room was very nice with the location close to needed amenities. This was a Vet appointment for my dog who has been very sick. This was our 2nd stay for the Vet appointments since our January 2020 stay with spouse and dog. We would highly recommend.

"Not Impressed"
Edward1976, 28 Avril 2020

This place was filthy. property must be under construction but doesn't excuse the rooms to be filthy. this should be a roadway Inn, the worse Best Western i have ever stayed in. No excuse for not cleaning properly even during a pandemic!

"Supports Students and Parents"
JeaZas, 18 Mars 2020

We have stayed at the Best Western University Inn several times. The location is perfect for Cornell visits and accessible to all the sites. The hotel staff are wonderful - friendly, informative, and helpful ... even making concessions for reservations impacted by the recent Corona Virus college exodus. We will remain loyal guests of the Best Western University Inn for years to come!

"Excellent Customer Service"
Jennifer F, 16 Mars 2020

I am a RN who is currently traveling a moderate distance and stay approx once a week to break up the commute. I have stayed at several places in the area, but since staying at Best Western University Inn, I have returned every week. The staff has been kind and always goes beyond to make my stay pleasant and easy. They have upgraded me when possible and are waiting and know me on site. They have earned my business.

"hotel review"
valncal, 22 Février 2020

The hotel was very convenient to Cornell University and the price was excellent. However, the rooms are a bit dated and could use an overhaul. The bathroom was clean and the amenities for the shower were abundant. We did not stay for the complimentary breakfast because we had an early campus tour of Cornell University. The hotel does allow dogs and we did see a couple. However, we never heard any barking or any noise coming from any rooms. I would recommend staying here for one or two nights but no more. It is a very quick trip from the hotel to either of the two colleges, Cornell and Ithaca and the surrounding downtown area.

"Room 107 is like staying in a beautiful ski chalet!"
vivm734, 11 Février 2020

Lovely room with high ceiling and sweet sitting area. Beds were comfy and plenty of room to spread out. Nicely decorated and clean! Only complaint was the door leading from the parking lot had no lock. That means anyone could walk in. Not safe for travellers. A card lock should be installed asap for safety. The only entry to a hotel or motel should be the front desk.

"Older motel-type structure; friendly staff tries to do their best"
gams1000, 26 Janvier 2020

Was here to watch an athletics event with others who chose this particular lodging for the inexpensive price + quick drive to Cornell campus and/or downtown Ithaca. Would have rated lower if not for the friendly staff who seem to be trying to do their best with what they've got (which is an old structure that appears to get heavy use). HVAC wall unit is loud: heats really well but had to turn it off to be able to sleep which then caused room to grow cold by morning. Some maintenance work seems to be underway on the exterior but did not intrude on our stay. Hotel bisects a strip mall on one side (with a good deli/diner type place and a grocery store) and apartments on the other side. Parking is ample. There's also a gas station, Walmart and Dunkins a block away.

"Friendly staff. Clean rooms"
doncampbell1965, 30 Décembre 2019

I'm always greeted with a smile and very happy to get clean rooms whenever I stay here. Nicely located near choices for food and getting to Cornell. The breakfast is enjoyable. I've never had a bad stay here.

"Close to Cornell University"
lclare1, 22 Décembre 2019

I stayed at the Best Western for a week while I was attending classes at Cornell. A huge perk is they provided a free shuttle to and from campus which was very helpful. It's also close to Dunkin Donuts (coffee!) and a grocery store. If you're looking for a clean and affordable stay near Cornell, I'd recommend this hotel.

"nice place"
kingkangsun, 02 Décembre 2019

I like the location. if you are there to visit Cornell University, it is a right place to stay. it only take 5 minutes to drive to the school. service was good, staff were very friendly and helpful. I did have a $20 gift card to redeem. they help me in the professional way. did not get a chance to try the gym, but the breakfast was acceptable.

"Best Western low on security"
georgeamitrano, 25 Novembre 2019

amazing in this day no access cards required to get in. lots of improvements being made to the rooms. easy access to additional food and shopping in the strip mall next door. The staff listened well to problems and tried to take care of them.

"Probably the Best Best Western on the east coast"
rfiorica, 17 Novembre 2019

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western University Inn during Veteran's Day weekend. We were in Ithaca for small ruminat conference at Cornell. I have never been treated so well by a Best Western staff in all the years I been satying in best western hotels. Their service started long before I got ther. I had trouble witgh a resercvation that Customer Service "couldn't/wouldn't" help me with except the lat technician I spoke to who suggested I talk the faciliry itself. I did and that is when the great service began. I called the facility and they were able to help me with my reservations. When I got to the facility they accepted my free stay voucher without any problems although I hadn't gotten it until after I made my reservation. The facility was clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was the best of any best western I had been to. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The shuttle was clean and in good working condition. TYhey wuld have taken us anywhere we wanted to go. I didn't research that before I rented a car, otherwise I wouldn't have rented one. I rarely give 5 star/dot ratings, but had towith this faciliity. I hope they keep it up.

"Convenient to Cornell"
Erica C, 13 Novembre 2019

The location to Cornell is great. Parking on campus is difficult so the shuttle was helpful, if not quick. The room was clean but the decor of the hotel is outdated. It was exactly what you would expect for the low price.

"Free shuttle to Cornell U is great, but watery scrambled eggs have got to go"
denisedistephan, 28 Octobre 2019

Breakfast offerings and physical condition of room need a lot of improvement, but loved free shuttle to Cornell. I did tip drivers, so I guess not really "free," but the door to door service was great.

"Wonderful"
John C, 27 Octobre 2019

What a well run property. All experiences should be as good! The management really care about their guests. The location is near a supermarket and several food choices Much better than some other major brands!

"A great place to stay near Cornell University"
CornellProfessor, 05 Octobre 2019

This Best Western is a great place to stay if you are visiting Cornell University. The price for the rooms is very reasonable, especially for what you get in return. It is close to campus and has a free shuttle service until 11 pm. Their breakfasts are very nice with eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, breads, donuts and other sweets. There is also a very nice exercise room.

"Ithaca"
Leon K, 19 Septembre 2019

Good motel overall--great shuttle driver and one desk person. Nice room, property, and breakfast. But shuttle administration going thru a clueless front-desk person wasted almost half an hour waiting, standing in the hot sun. Terrible policy: rider and driver should communicate directly. Goofy company. I had to show a $20 coupon several times before it was finally put into the "system" Corporate management should be changed.

"Our trip to Cornell Vet Hospital"
robyncooper72, 18 Septembre 2019

Best dog friendly hotel I have stayed in! The receptionist volunteered to watch our dog while we went to dinner. Our shuttle driver walked him while we were at dinner. A very clean room in the pet wing, with coffee, TV, comfortable king size bed, and nice linens. Very good free breakfast buffet in lobby, for the price this is an excellent place to stay!

"Clean your rooms."
phillipsj208, 12 Septembre 2019

Blood stains over the be, in bathroom. Hairs on sheets. Fire place broken. Over priced for the quality of there cleanliness. There computers were not working to properly check us in so they manually had to do it which took a little bit of time.

"Caring and Helpful"
redcamaro323, 11 Septembre 2019

The service and hospitality was above and beyond. Also the shuttle is fantastic so you do not have to drive around an unfamiliar city . Rooms are great and are being redone. Very comfy place to stay :)

"Labor Day Weekend Wedding!"
garymF7706JF, 04 Septembre 2019

Great location for our visit. Van service exceptional. Rooms clean. A little noisy with slamming doors and barking dogs early in the morning. Good breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful front desk staff!

"Clean, Convenient & Courteous"
LindaLidia, 01 Septembre 2019

We only stayed 1 night to rest up after hiking but this hotel was great! Clean rooms, delicious breakfast, courteous staff and a wonderful option of a courtesy shuttle in & out of town. Nice pool, no hot tub but overall a pleasant stay

"Excellent hotel"
TokolosheMike, 21 Août 2019

Simple hotel but sooo nice! Located on top of the hill next to Cornel University in a quiet area next to a shopping center. The rooms are spacious and perfect! Breakfast is great - eggs and pancakes. Just perfect! Free shuttle almost anywhere in town. Friendly staff. Loved it!!

"Trip to Cornell for a cat medical problem"
Patti C, 21 Août 2019

This hotel was wonderful - easy to park, a lot of conveniences and close to everything. The staff is always wonderful and concerned that I am doing okay and have everything I need. Did not have a chance to enjoy the pool due to time constraints.

"Excellent hotel near Cornell"
Vajira_Premawardhana, 16 Août 2019

This is my favourite hotel in Ithaca. Its a homely place with friendly staff and large rooms. The only issue I had was that the air conditioner in the room was bit too loud. Excellent breakfast, though simple was very good. Availability of the shuttle service is very useful.

"Too expensive for what you receive"
ShawDenville, 16 Août 2019

A pricey "cheap' hotel. And I am not a complainer. Perhaps HomeAway has spoiled me to what I should expect from a hotel, but isn't competition about bringing up the level of things. Overpriced for what you get.

"Good stay"
Anoukxv, 14 Août 2019

The hotel room was nice and big, we only missed a safe in our hotelroom. There is on-site parking and breakfast is free. In the room was a 'Safe the Planet' sign for the linnen and towels. I think that is very important and good. But than in the morning when you enter the breakfast there are plastic cups, plates and cutlery what is not environmentally friendly at all. So if they want to safe the planet i think this hotel can definitely further improve themselves.

"RETURNING TO SCHOOL"
omarmccall30, 13 Août 2019

Best Western University Inn s our choice when we are visiting or taking our daughter back to school. It is in a very good location within the city. The staff is very helpful, breakfast is always hot and delicious.

"Great place"
4jolly_ranchers, 04 Août 2019

Good service, shuttle driver in the afternoon was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy. Shuttle service to the airport, college, or city center available. Room had high vaulted ceiling and a dusty ceiling fan that didn't turn on.

"Basic good night's sleep"
deadandy, 28 Juillet 2019

It's a basic hotel that will provide a good night's sleep and basic services/amenities for a good price (for Ithaca). I found the cleanliness standards to be good. There were no problems with cleanliness of the bedding or bathroom, which are the key areas I'd look for. The furnishings in the room are basic but comfortable. The beds seem to be getting toward the end of their useful lifespan as the mattresses are sagging and in need of replacement. Our room had a fridge and basic TV. This hotel has a free breakfast option which works if you're in a pinch and looking for basics like yogurt, oatmeal, or cereal. They have some breads and hot foods as well that I didn't try. The hotel pool seems to be quite popular. One big benefit of this hotel is that it's walkable to a 24 hour grocery store, CTB, and other businesses in East Hill Plaza. They do have a shuttle that goes other places but we didn't use it. The staff is friendly although I had very limited interactions with them other than check in/check out.

"Great stay: simple, clean, good service"
Karen2121, 19 Juillet 2019

The room was very nice and clean. The furniture wasn't really new but it was nice, the bathroom was clean and nice, the countertop was new. The beds were comfortable. There was a nice desk and chair and plenty of places to plug in devices. The air conditioner was a little loud but it cooled the room. We would stay here again.

"Very Good Stay"
Alex C, 13 Juillet 2019

The hotel is nice, needs some touch ups here and there, it is not a brand new building. The staff was very helpfull at all times. Room was nice and clean, I have zero complaints about it. I did some online shopping and the front desk received all the boxes for me. It is a walking distance from Cornell, if you are going to attend a course like I did the hotel is perfect.

"Don't Judge a Book by its Cover"
kbdelapaz, 07 Juillet 2019

To be honest, I had mild concerns when we arrived at this hotel. Pretty nondescript and had a bit of a low-budget look. My concerns were allayed upon entering our room. It was spacious, clean, and quite adequate. The bathroom was a definite win as well - large and comfortable. Another highlight was the complimentary breakfast - not a huge spread, but the options were clearly fresh and things that many higher-end hotels do poorly - e.g., scrambled eggs - were well prepared. I left with a very high opinion of this hotel, which is the only somewhat reasonably priced place to stay in Ithaca. My only complaint would be the noise generated by the A/C unit, which was quite loud each time it switched on - many times during the night.

"Stayed for conference"
Vacation42777583226, 02 Juillet 2019

Stayed at Best Western Ithaca for a work conference being held in the area. First impression of the hotel was good. Clean and easy to navigate. Bob our shuttle driver was amazing, he was extremely friendly and helpful, a real pleasure for the forefront of the hotel. Front desk staff was not overly friendly or welcoming and could use some improvement but the hotel overall was good. My room was great, the 400 block was private and quiet and the continental breakfast was excellent with several options.

"Clean hotel, friendly staff"
J3818VZshannonc, 27 Juin 2019

The hotel staff were very professional and friendly. The room was clean. My only complaint was the bed was too soft for my liking, but it was tolerable. The room was also quiet allowing for few distractions.

"Complimentary shuttle is a big plus"
jiejiej2015, 23 Juin 2019

The hotel is on Cornell property and very close to the university and the commons and college town. But those places are either pedestrian area(no cars) or require parking fees( Cornell). The hotel provides free shuttle from morning to 10pm, pick you up and drop you off any place you want in those places. We utilized the service and were very happy that we picked this hotel. The room and continental breakfast is quite standard so I don't have anything special to mention. The hotel is next to a shopping center. There is a George Town Bagel where we found very good bagels. My son ended up buying bagels instead of eating hotel's breakfast. I recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Cornell.

"Excellent Best Western Stay"
jackatz, 10 Juin 2019

Clean, modern, attractive with friendly and helpful staff. Free internet access. Good location. Available outdoor pool and local shuttle service. Satisfactory breakfast included. Very convenient to Cornell.

"Great hotel"
cafeman42, 07 Juin 2019

I stay here on business on a regular basis. I have yet to have a bad night at this property. The staff is caring and friendly. Rooms are always clean and well appointed. Breakfast has a good selection and freshly prepared. Looking forward to upcoming renovations!

"Shabby, Dated"
MarkWBoca, 24 Mai 2019

Only because of its proximity to the Cornell campus does the Best Western University Inn survive. Everything about the hotel is poor, except its location. The hotel is very spread out, all in one level. It's a long walk to the breakfast area. Prices are usually modest, except for graduation, homecoming, and the like, when Best Western can charge whatever the market bears.

"Thanks for the great stay!"
FarAway53370474123, 23 Mai 2019

Fast and friendly check in/out. All staff right down to housekeeping were friendly and made sure any need was met. Breakfast was amazing with many healthy choices. Rooms were very nice and spacious also very clean. Highly recommend.

"Excellent stay"
PerfessorEddy, 16 Mai 2019

Rooms were spacious with skylighted high vaulted ceilings. Very clean and well run. Even the breakfast was better than other similar hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, an excellent stay.

"My Go-To Hotel in Ithaca"
Jacquie N, 09 Avril 2019

We've stayed here several times and each time is a pleasure. Great location and big, comfortable rooms. The staff is super friendly and helpful...really excellent service!! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, or to recommend it to others.

"Ithaca Best Western University Inn"
55engineer, 05 Avril 2019

It is quite convenient from this place if you are visiting Cornell. The room was clean and beds were comfortable, however, I did not see any smile from the staffs there perhaps they had a less than satisfactory day.

"Nice stay!"
KristenMike, 02 Mars 2019

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel recently and wouldn't hesitate to come back! Our room was in the 400 building and had a warm and inviting gas fireplace and hearth, super tall ceiling, mini fridge and microwave, his/hers bathroom sinks, and comfortable queen size beds (as opposed to the full size beds you tend to get elsewhere) to name a few. It felt a bit as though we were in a lodge-style hotel in Vermont. The hotel's breakfast area was spacious, very clean and well attended. The selection of food and beverage was great! We also took advantage of the hotel shuttle to go back and forth to the Commons area, and our driver (Bob) was the best. Super friendly and helpful! Looking forward to our next stay!

"Great Stay"
Marianne C, 14 Janvier 2019

Very enjoyable stay, loved our room. It was too warm sometimes, didn't need to use the fireplace, even the hallways seemed a little too warm. Bathroom could be cleaner, found hair on floor and in tub. Otherwise everything was great and would definitely go back there.

"Best Western University Inn, Ithaca, NEW YORK"
Sightsee29476186134, 13 Janvier 2019

Extremely friendly staff, impeccably clean room, definitely will stay there again if my pets need to see a specialist at Cornell. The location was perfect. Places for a quick bite all close by. Grocery store is in walking distance & gas station.

"You pay for the location, not for the room"
CarolL3186, 01 Janvier 2019

This is a case where you're paying for the location, not the room. I had booked the room through a site that gave the listing as a 700sq ft room... so I was surprised when I got there and had a smallish room. The carpets could stand to be cleaned, the dresser was very scratched up. Some patches in the hallway ceiling from a leak, patch in the shower, patches on the wall. Breakfast was okay, but the same every day - eggs and sausage. The fireplace was neat, and we had a relaxing view overlooking a field. The people were nice.

"Great Find"
sfrancisk00, 31 Décembre 2018

Found this gem when coming into Ithaca for a concert. Very friendly and accommodating checkin staff. Room decor was dated but very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a slanted tall ceiling and a fireplace that ran on a timer, very nice touch for a winter trip. We had a late night so we didn't make it in for breakfast. Fantastic location for Cornell folks, was a little bit of a jaunt into Commons area for the even we were heading to (10 min car/uber). We visited between Christmas and New Years so the schools were on break and it was very quiet. I am sure it's much busier when the students are in town, it would be a dream for parents coming for a visit. We would book the Best Western University Inn again.

"Fantastic staff"
j_mccabeiv, 29 Novembre 2018

The staff here is beyond friendly and accommodating! Complimentary breakfast is well presented. Fitness center is nothing fancy but will get the job done. Beds are very comfortable. Complimentary van shuttle is great for airport travel. The only reason I did not give a 5 is because some renovations to the physical building are needed. Would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Ithaca

"Great place re: Facility + Staff, except OWNERS + BIZ CTR ARE HORRIBLE +"
midlhitter, 07 Novembre 2018

PRO'S The Room, the Lobby (with wonderful Fall décor + fireplace), the Breakfast Fantastic! Pool really warm /cozy (fantastic when rainy/cold). Fitness Room: acceptable. Staff member JIM was OUTSTANDING + PROFESSIONAL PACKING & RETURNING our Laptop. We are so grateful! CONS: OWNERS (husband/wife) should NOT be in the hotel biz. We realized we'd left laptop after driving to next location 3 hrs away so called; female Owner rudely questioned why we left it, then "it's too heavy for me, call back in 5 min after I take to office + THEN I'll take your name down." After 5min, I called repeatedly (frantic); but phone was BUSY FOR 1.5HRS. Corporate even tried & couldn't get through, admitted UNACCEPTABLE. Owner later claimed was on "Fix It" call w/Computer help (at 10pm on a SATURDAY nite?) She then hung up on me TWICE, saying "I'm very busy" + that I "should understand that, don't call back til after 11am tomorrow to arrange for Laptop to ship." We called @9am, JIM kind helped!! Also: THE BUSINESS CENTER: doesn't have MICROSOFT OFFICE PRODUCTS. Excel. License had expired. The Owner says: "Oh they're just trying to get you to buy something." I expressed that hotels that advertise a "Business Ctr" should have Excel. "No, it's not necessary for anyone to have" he ridiculously claimed. And: Staff is clueless about the printer + computers. That's unsatisfactory if someone is trying to Work or even print their boarding pass. They should be trained on basics re: how they work.

"Great for Cornell parents"
Jacquie N, 05 Novembre 2018

If you have a student at Cornell, this is the best hotel for Move-In Weekend, Parent's Weekend, etc. The property is very near campus, parking is easy, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, and a nice breakfast is included in the price. We stayed once at an upscale hotel in the Commons, but parking was a hassle, it was noisy and crowded, and not relaxing at all. The Best Western is easy and low-stress. We have stayed there more than once, and will do so every time we visit Ithaca.

"My Go-to hotel in Ithaca"
Getaway18390604194, 31 Octobre 2018

Have been coming here for years! The staff is great, the rooms have been updated and were comfortable and clean. It's in a great location and they served salad at their breakfast along with the usual fare, which for me was a rare treat! I would highly recommend this motel,

"Great hotel"
cafeman42, 25 Octobre 2018

I stay at this property on a regular basis. The staff is always friendly and respectful to any requests. The breakfast in the morning is always fresh and hot with a nice selection. Beds are comfortable and the decor is up to date

"Solid"
TheTravelAddiction, 10 Octobre 2018

The location is convenient to downtown Ithaca and the lake. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. It was a no frills stay and simply a place to sleep for the night, nothing more nothing less.

"Annual visit to Cornell"
wilson6975, 10 Octobre 2018

The Ithaca Best Western has always been a good experience for us. We travel woth our two dogs and appreciate that they are a pet friendly hotel. The overall experience has always been good and they are always very welcoming to the dogs.

"Room was spacious but dull"
joannemwm4, 09 Octobre 2018

My daughter and I spent the night here on a visit to Cornell University. We thought our room was very drab and dated, and it could have used better lighting, such as a lamp next to the couch. On the plus side, the room was more spacious than we expected, and the bathroom was as well. The staff were the highlight of our staff--everyone we met was friendly and extremely helpful.

"Don"
Tourist443320, 08 Octobre 2018

Good service, clean. Nice location to Cornell and downtown Ithaca. Good breakfast. Rooms clean but bed a little too soft , otherwise fine. Visited daughter in college. Will put in our hotel rotation when visiting Ithaca.

"An Ithaca , New York Say"
babkakugel1, 07 Octobre 2018

If you are traveling with a pet and or want a hotel with accommodating staff, the Best Western Ithaca is top of the list. the hotel itself is dated, looks a bit like the 1970's. The staff is what clearly makes it worth it. They do have a convenient shuttle service to Cornell and plenty of parking. Internet works well, a flat screen TV with good reception but no program guide. The rooms are clean

"Great one night stay for a conference"
starr9779, 04 Octobre 2018

The room was slightly outdated but the room was huge, esp for just one person. The bedding was fresh and clean. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was probably one of the best I've ever had at a hotel, including pricey ones. Overall, it was a good night's stay and the staff were all amazing, kind and checked in to see if the room met my standards.

"Very adequate"
Don H, 02 Octobre 2018

This place was just fine. Service was good. Comp breakfast was wholesome and nicely presented. Thanks for using paper plates not Styrofoam. Parking was free. But why no microwave in the room? We will return some day.

"Great if visiting Cornell"
sanscott, 27 Septembre 2018

This is an excellent option if you are visiting Cornell. Everything is close by. And, it is a way from the hectic city driving and parking. The hotel offers breakfast, has a seasonal pool, and is close (a dozen steps or so) to a small shopping mall with a subway, a couple restaurants and a P&C... and even a liquor store. Really enjoyed our stay.

"Dated"
privateandylau, 06 Septembre 2018

Really dated but probably best option for Cornell business. Shuttle bus will pick up from airport, drop off anywhere in town, so don't really need a rental. Self sufficient within the mall, restaurant, supermarket, laundry, bank, gas station, all there within walking distant

"Great stay for the price."
Mylilee, 27 Août 2018

Great stay for a great price. Can't beat the clean and comfortable accommodations. I would highly recommend staying here. Although we didn't get a chance to try the breakfast, I feel like it's a really nice amenity for anyone staying there. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well we liked our stay.

"Rolled in at midnight, and they took care of us!"
travelmom55, 22 Août 2018

It was such a relief to be welcomed in at midnight on a crazy, rainy, summer night! The night manager put us in a room close by, was helpful in describing where to park, how the breakfast and shuttle to Cornell worked, and made sure we were settled in. We had outstanding service, even in resolving the question about where we were on campus when it was time to be picked back up. I especially appreciated not having to deal with on-campus parking in the driving rain, it saved us a lot of time and stress!

"Would not stay again"
kbauer1122, 13 Août 2018

I paid almost $200 per night to have a jacuzzi tub that emitted black debris when turned on. There was hair in my bed and in the shower. I found a bug in the bed and leftover change on the fireplace from the previous guest. When I called the front desk to ask for a toothbrush and toothpaste, which they indicate they provide, I was told to visit the store down the street.

"Quaint, basic Best Western"
wifeNmommy, 12 Août 2018

The Inn was comfortable and clean. The layout was more of a campus layout, appropriate beside a university campus. There were 3 bldgs for the Inn, with a nice landscaped swimming pool. It was easy to walk from our room to the office with the bkft area. Our room, specifically our beds, was very clean and comfortable. We needed the sleep sofa and appreciated that the bedding was in the room. The Inn was quiet throughout the night and even the morning. The decor of the room was very basic, a unique feature was the raised ceiling with its high windows and ceiling fan so that the room was brightly lit. Bkft was your standard complimentary hot fare. We ate on a Sunday morning around 9. The bkft area was very crowded. The staff encouraged guests to eat in the seated lobby area or out by the pool. We would stay here again.

"Great hotel for the value"
alicia0717, 12 Août 2018

A great little hotel on the outskirts of ithaca. Very affordable, especially if you are visiting one of the college's (they offer a discount if you are) .Room was spacious. Hotel was quiet.. Only complaint is that the beds were too form for my comfort.

"ithaca"
Trisha123459, 06 Août 2018

The Best Western was a great place to stay in Ithaca, New York. it was close to Cornell and easy to visit the campus. It was easy to find and a great location to enjoy the Finger Lake region, which is worth the visit!

"Family Trip to Ithaca"
cliffordk2016, 31 Juillet 2018

This is a nice basic hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable adn the staff was super. The hotel is a short distance from Cornell University and is next to a small shopping center with a supermarket, breakfast-lunch place and laundromat. The pool is showing its age and is in need of renovation.

"First Trip to New York State"
suegibson100, 27 Juillet 2018

We are a family of 4 with2 adults and 2 children 11 & 15. We spent just one night here on our way from NYC to Niagara. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious with a sofa, mini fridge and hairdryer. A small pool is also on site. The beds comfortable and the area was peaceful and relaxing after the hustle and bustle and noise and sirens of NYC. There was plenty to eat at breakfast - a selection of hot and cold food which were self service - kids liked that they could pour and flip their own waffles. Staff were helpful and made good recommendations on activities to do locally Our only disappointment was that we were only staying for one night.

"Good enough hotel, close to Cornell Animal Hospital"
Kim V, 22 Juillet 2018

I stayed here because my cat was admitted to Cornell Animal Hospital and it is very close by and convenient. There is a yummy local bagel (plus more) shop called Collegetown Bagels close by (same strip mall area). The rooms are fine (what you'd expect for a Best Western). Of course, it doesn't have the Ithaca charm because it is a Best Western in a strip mall, but the location is worth it if you want to be close to Cornell.

"Scope for the imagination"
Mickey W, 22 Juillet 2018

Stayed here to be close to a friend's wedding at Cornell, and short of staying on campus, we couldn't have been closer. The entrance is a bit confusing-- you have to go through a strip mall parking lot--and the rooms are spread across several buildings, but once you're in it's pretty secluded. The front desk was cheerful and helpful (they had a comb on the day of the wedding when I totally forgot to pack one!), the shampoo smells amazing, and there's vending machines (which accept cards) for when you need a midnight snack or miss breakfast. However: my boyfriend and I firmly believe the place is haunted, and amused ourselves all weekend with conjectures about the "ghost". Our room (and the whole building the room was in) gave off a very Twin Peaks-y vibe, from the picture of the polo player riding in a lightning storm in the lobby (definitely the ghost) to the dull neutral color scheme, the inexplicable kind-of-out-of-place fireplace and to the pure height of the ceiling in our room. The kind of place that would be a great setting for a story: personal attention and charm, but an air of mystery. Unique. I wish we'd been able to get to the pool next to the main building, though. It looks inviting.

"Nice hotel"
Carol W, 19 Juillet 2018

Excellent staff. Nice rooms.good location. The downfall is that if you have a big vehicle or two they have to make more room to park. It just makes it a little tight for parking. Stayed here many times and never had any problems.

"Good for short stay"
heyougetoffmycloud, 03 Juillet 2018

Stayed here for one night while on a "road trip" so for us, it was okay for an overnight stay. It's in a good location - near the highway. The hot breakfast selections were very good! The room we had was in a separate building from the main lobby and breakfast area, but not a problem. Our room was on the small side, and for someone who needed more space in the dresser, it would have been limited. We had no microwave in our room, but didn't need one - just sharing in case it matters to other travelers. This was the most expensive room that we had in any hotel during our nine day road trip - staying at different places along the way. There were other hotels in other cities much nicer for less money, so that's why I gave it only 3 circles.

"Cornell U campus tour"
Dawn M, 24 Juin 2018

Great location for visiting Cornell. This hotel was clean and the staff was exceptionally professional and courteous. They were happy to assist me in the business office for printing my Cornell parking pass. The hotel offers a shuttle to and from the campus but we opted to drive. The breakfast area was clean with a nice selection and quality coffee. The building itself and rooms are somewhat outdated but the staff and cleanliness makes up for it as well as the value.

"Outstanding Customer Service!!!"
khtrip2018, 22 Juin 2018

Outstanding customer service!!! Exceptionally warm, accommodating and thoughtful staff. Pet friendly is an understatement - my dog, Murphy the Mastiff, had an emergency appointment at Cornell, he was allowed to stay on premise, which in itself was a tremendous blessing but the entire staff was flexible and accommodating throughout our time at the hotel. We could not have asked for a more dog friendly (loving) staff. We remain grateful for everyone's efforts and support. They put the BEST in Best Western.

"Graduation weekend"
914alan, 29 Mai 2018

book your graduation weekend when you drop them off as freshmen, you won;t regret it. Stayed here many times. Convenient and close to Cornell, Collegetown Bagels is a plus. Shuttle service, clean pool, always drinks and coffee

"Nice place and we'll located"
Josee L, 23 Mai 2018

We went for a wedding. Nice hotel and accommodation, breakfast had lots to offer. Room was clean and spacious. Would recommend it and would go back. Staff very nice and they also provided a shuttle to and from the wedding.

"A great night in Ithaca, NY"
loken423, 18 Mai 2018

Good pricing, clean rooms, excellent breakfast choices, attentive staff. Would definitely use this motel again when in the area. Has a nice small pool area as well. Shuttle service is great, very convenient to use for downtown Ithaca Commons area.

"On par with the brand"
Lilytiel, 12 Mai 2018

When we travel, we like to stay at Best Westerns because we know we'll get a solid place to stay for a fair price. We had no complaints about the cleanliness of the room or the efficiency of the staff. It was a nice room in a nice hotel with friendly, competent staff.

"Good Hotel for a visit to Cornell"
CAK45, 10 Mai 2018

My wife and I went to Cornell and returned for a visit. The Best Western University Is about a mile from campus with a shuttle bus and plenty of parking. We stayed three nights in a room with two queen size beds. The room and beds were fine. Very quiet and the breakfast was acceptable. It is not within walking distance of anything except a market and a couple of restaurants. We were pleased and it met our needs. If you want to be closer, try college town. There are also hotels downtown which are close to restaurants.

"Just average"
kmac629, 08 Mai 2018

This hotel could use an upgrade. Wallpaper peeling in the bathroom, a few loose tiles in the bathroom, spots on the ceiling looked like the roof had leaked, a few dark spots on the mattress cover beneath the sheets. Food had been left in our fridge. Also, animals are allowed, which is great, but there was fur on our comforters. On the plus side, the staff was great - very friendly and willing to help with anything. They did mention the shuttle available into town, but we chose to drive.

"Average quality hotel, Great location close to Cornell"
Tom C, 01 Mai 2018

Average quality hotel, Great location close to Cornell. Exterior and room interior furnishings are dated. But it's free breakfast and location close to Cornell earns it a solid average rating. For Cornell activities, the location beats that of the Holiday Inn, but the Holiday Inn has a better exterior, interior and breakfast settings/items

"Great shuttle, noisy rooms"
cherell, 23 Avril 2018

Best part of staying at the hotel was the shuttle to and from Cornell (and the airport) and the kind, friendly shuttle drivers. The rooms are noisy - heater went on and off and was very loud. Also the walls are very thin and if there are noisy neighbors (like we had the second night) it is hard to sleep.

"Let down by breakfast."
iaatkinson, 20 Avril 2018

We stayed 2 nights as part of a fly drive coming from the UK. The welcome was warm and friendly. Our room was fairly clean and large. Only fault was spiders webs up quite high. If a hotel is designed like this then supply proper equipment! Bathroom was big and effective. Yes the whole place could do with a spruce up here and there but it's fine, it's a budget range hotel. Be aware that this is near a university. While here there was a convention/recruitment day for high school students, many of whom stayed in the hotel. They weren't bad but we're noisy when they can in after midnight. Let down greatly by breakfast. Bland food. Hardly warm, the warmers are quite ineffective. Only positive thing was the orange juice which is fresh. (Hot drinks are available 24/7). Worst thing if all;. Paper cups, played and bowls. Come on we are adults and deserve better. PLASTOC CUTLERY. it's 2018. The whole world, except Best Western are concerned about single use plastics and the effect on wildlife and our environment. Come on. Get with the times!! (For that reason I can only give 2/5). Other than that a nice hotel.

"Great Place to Stay, very close to Cornell"
MarDTX, 19 Avril 2018

Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful; the breakfast options are plentiful, including hard boiled and scrambled eggs, sausages, breakfast links, waffles, cereal, english muffins, bagels, fruits, cereal, coffee, juices, and many more. Everything is very clean and well stocked. The location is 5 minutes from Cornell, with easy access, and hotel transportation is a great service. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Not a fancy hotel, but a good place to spend the night. Within walking distance of Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, and a supermarket. TV channels are limited to non premium channels (no HBO, Showtime, etc.) and the TV size seems small for the rooms. Overall, a good place to stay.

"Cheap, comfy, clean, and great staff"
M W, 04 Avril 2018

You are staying in an old hotel with minor updates. That said, it's a great price, safe area, clean rooms, comfy beds, and the staff is wonderful. Very close the Cornell & the hotel shuttle runs until 11pm. It's a great place for the price.

"Clean and Friendly"
robynivylicht, 03 Mars 2018

Clean and comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Friendly and professional staff. Good location. Great price. Great value. Better than expected. Would recommend for business stay, students visiting Colleges or families.

"Perfectly adequate no-frills hotel"
Y7428XEericr, 04 Janvier 2018

Biggest plus is the courtesy van which will take you and pick you up from virtually any spot in the local area. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, located in a strip mall with a major supermarket and several smaller stores with options for dining and other amenities.

"Best Western Ithaca"
Jay C, 13 Décembre 2017

The hotel is good, clean, and resonable value. Nothing fancy. reasonable rates for the area. Allows pets. Very close to Cornell University. Very easy to get to with a grocery store close, a mexican restaurant, laundry mat and drug store. If you are not looking for a fancy hotel and just want a good nights sleep, you can't go wrong.

"Such a pleasant surprise!"
DrWalkabout, 03 Décembre 2017

After staying in a few luxury hotels during my business trip, I wasn't sure what to expect in a small country town. It was such a pleasant surprise discovering this small hotel. The thing I loved was just the attention to detail, the small things that add to the experience of hospitality. Filtered water at reception, coffee and light snacks 24 hours in the breakfast room, shuttle bus to and from campus, full HBO, a nice array of useful toiletries... and the best ever: fast WiFi that actually works!! After staying in one Sheraton and two Hyatt hotels prior to this and being able to get only limited/slow WiFi, this was a welcome relief for an international traveller quite dependent on staying connected. To further add to the experience: a comfy bed, relative quiet until neighbouring guests work earlier in the morning, a great array of breakfast items, friendly and welcoming staff....and to reiterate again - good coffee. I just had to back-track and after packing my bags in the car to compliment the manager on a good job.

"Outstanding customer service"
Margaret E, 28 Novembre 2017

Employees could not have been more helpful or caring. Travelling with two family members in their 90s with walkers led to some unique challenges. Best Western staff could not have been more accommodating. They honored every special request.

"Great hotel for users of CHESS"
980seana, 18 Novembre 2017

The Best Western University Inn, at East Hill Mall, has good beds, quiet rooms, high speed internet, good breakfast, and a good value for visitors to the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS). It's only a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk away from CHESS.

"Should have been warned"
carmelleo2017, 15 Novembre 2017

Room 121 next to the housekeeping closet and the loudest room in the hotel. I had an injured puppy with me and he barked all night at the people talking/gathered in the hallway. I was also worried that I was disturbing other guests but I couldn't do anything about the noise. I was also next to the housekeeping storage so when I finally got to sleep at 5 am I was wakened by Housekeeping getting their carts and supplies (not their fault) and my puppy barking again. We had a miserable night and wanted to be moved and were told we couldn't. I left and didn't stay the second night but of course I was charged. I received no call back from the GM and the front desk staff said that I might as well stay because I am paying for it. Yes. Indeed. A horrible trip made worse by a horrible hotel.

"Good Job"
P4056MEvirginiam, 15 Novembre 2017

Except for the difficulty for correctly booking the room. The hotel service was excellent. We resent having to pay twice for our room since the TripAdvisor website did not work effectively for us. We would like to get our money back, but we do not know how to do so.

"Can't Cancel Reservations"
854alyceg, 15 Novembre 2017

Booked reservation directly on BW site. Don't recall the warning that it was a non-cancellable, non-refundable reservation. Due to work constraints, I had to change my travel plans. I called the hotel to cancel two weeks before my stay, and they said I could not. Had I been charged for the room at the time of my original booking, I would have shrugged it off, but they hadn't even charged my card yet. The charge didn't come through until after my reservation date. It's a scam and total rip off. They could easily have given the room to other people with that much lead time.

"nice stay"
C6072ZMpatrickm, 13 Novembre 2017

on a college visit to Ithaca. from Cali and it was a cold day....fire place in room was a nice touch. Check in was great....felt welcome and the woman had a great sense of humor Breakfast was very good. attentive staff even cleared your dirty plates. very accommodating and highly recommended

"Pleasant stay in Ithaca"
Thomas H, 13 Novembre 2017

We came to Ithaca for one night for dinner with friends and a concert at the State Theater. Never having been to Ithaca before we needed lots of advice and help in selecting a restaurant, getting there and getting home. The people at the hotel were all very helpful. The fellow that drives the shuttle bus made our stay very enjoyable as we didn't have to drive in an unfamiliar city, worry about parking, etc. He told us the layout of The Commons, where we should try to eat, where the concert was and where he'd pick us up when we called. This was all much appreciated. Everyone we spoke with at the hotel was courteous, friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was pleasant. if we were to go back to Ithaca I'd stay there again.

"Unjustifiably expensive"
djhedi, 08 Novembre 2017

Made reservations here on short notice due to a death in our family. Two days/three nights were north of $750. We have stayed in much nicer accomodations for less. There was nothing about this hotel that would justify this cost other than the lack of hotel rooms in the Ithaca area. The room we had was unremarkable and lacked a microwave.

"Best Western Ithaca NY"
957austinh, 04 Novembre 2017

Excellent in every way. Free shuttle to Cornell Campus is exceptional given the parking availability on Campus. Friendly accommodating Staff willing to help with any questions. Very close to Cornell. Shuttle also available to Restaurants downtown for Dinner. Very fast response for shuttle. Breakfast excellent, clean, spacious.

"First Trip to Ithaca"
I2149ZOvaleries, 29 Octobre 2017

Accommodating and clean – Shuttle service A+ Room was clean, spacious and adequate. Easy Access to campus (via shuttle or public transportation) and convenience of grocery store, and takeout in plaza near hotel

"Good location for visiting Cornell "
Kathleen C, 28 Octobre 2017

Just what you'd expect from a Best Western. May have to drive toward area your room is. All the basics. Big rooms. Nothing fancy. Helpful and pleasant front desk. Breakfast is included - serve yourself. Is near a shopping plaza with grocery store, liquor, gas. Can walk to an amazing Mexican restaurant, from back of property or go thru shopping mall down the perpendicular street 100 feet.

"Nice hotel on the southeast side of Ithaca"
bobfox98, 21 Octobre 2017

I was skeptical of possible noise because of "university" in the name, but this hotel is quiet. This hotel is very near Cornell University classrooms in a strip-mall environment that isn't near the main campus. Students drive to and from these classrooms. The area is quiet and not like a college campus or housing area. Nice rooms and breakfast. The only negative item is that the guest rooms are in a building that is separate from the building with the lobby and breakfast. The area between the buildings is a driveway that is covered, but the wind blows through that opening, so be prepared for experiencing the weather as you go to and from the breakfast.

"Excellent hotel near Cornell"
waynecs2017, 21 Octobre 2017

Large rooms in a well-run hotel featuring easy access to Cornell. Excellent value with ample parking & excellent breakfast. Front desk management & staff provided excellent advice in guiding us to very enjoyable dining venues and nearby sites/museums.

"BW University Inn, Ithaca, NY"
Charles L, 19 Octobre 2017

Overpriced, but only good option close to Cornell University. The property is aging and not being maintained. My room had no seal on the A/C between the room and outdoors - so essentially I had to run the fan 24X7 to get a comfortable temperature. There were many parties and construction groups making lots of noise. But, like I said, if you want to be close to Cornell, this is a necessity you will need to bear.

"Stayed over for a wedding"
Steven S, 16 Octobre 2017

We were attending a wedding at Celebrations near Ithaca and this was the hotel recommended by the wedding part. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They offered a complimentary shuttle to and from the venue. The van was a little small for the amount of people it had to transport but the driver was good and the van was clean. Unfortunately, we missed the breakfast, so I can't say too much about it other than some friends that stayed thought it was pretty good. It featured hot and cold options.

"Not Happy"
Christie P, 16 Octobre 2017

Stayed at this Best Western for my daughters wedding. Staff and complimentary breakfast were the bright spots. For the price of the rooms cleanliness took a back seat for sure. Beds were clean and fresh but the rest of the rooms was not clean at all, garbage was left behind in one room and both rooms lacked a good cleaning of cobwebs and old surface dirt.

"Wonderful place & staff!"
deziral2017, 16 Octobre 2017

Everyone is so helpful here! The room was much bigger than I expected it to be. Parking, loading/unloading was a breeze. unfortunately,i locked my kids and myself out of our room but the staff got is back in before anyone knew there was an issue. We had a fantastic time & The Best Western was a main contributor!!!!!

"A trip to Ithaca and Best Western"
Malcolm K, 13 Octobre 2017

Nice staff, convenient to the Cornell Vet College. Overall hotel does need an upgrade, it looks like a 1980's motel. Dog friendly. Breakfast is fine. Rooms are in need of updated furniture, flooring and bathroom fixtures.

"Highlights of university inn"
allenkittyzoo, 09 Octobre 2017

We just returned from a 4 night stay here and we found it to mostly be a very nice place to stay. We were going to Cornell University each day and it was only 2 miles aw from where we needed to be which was extremely helpful and there is a shuttle service which was terrific! The breakfasts each morning were included and quite good with a nice variety of hot and cold foods. The staff was extremely nice and helpful for the duration! We stayed in a king jaccuzzi room in the downstairs area. The bed was soft if you like that and I wish I could take that huge tub home with me...very nice size and depth! My only complaint was that the room was dirty and well cleaned. There was thick amounts of dust and old cobwebs in the corners and all around the air conditioning unit. Also, the floors in the main hallway of the room were sticky...my husband wiped it with a damp shower towel and it was black with dirt. The room itself was a good size though and it does have a good sized frig in it hidden under the TV area. If the cleanliness improved we would stay there again due to all the other positives. FYI a great nearby restaurant is Antlers about 10 minutes away....yummy and good prices!

"Basic budget inn"
avonbeachbum, 30 Septembre 2017

Arrived late one hot night in late July and we were shown a basic room. The Inn has certainly seen better days. It urgently needs updating of bathrooms, carpeting and air conditioning units. Housekeeping is atrocious as we discovered when pulling back the sheets only to find remains of the previous occupants (see photos). Staff were obviously embarrassed and moved quickly to find us another room. If it weren't already past 11 pm, we would have sought out another hotel. The next morning the general manager apologized profusely and promised that the housekeeper would be "informed". She also promised to comp our room given the condition of the first room and the embarrassment of all involved. Of course, no reimbursement was provided even after I sent two kind reminders. Cannot recommend this Inn at all.

"No Problems"
Timothy W, 26 Septembre 2017

I stayed here for one night when in town to visit Cornell. Had no problems of any kind. Everything was clean and water was hot. Air Conditioning unit could be updated but it worked reasonably well. Not too crazy about the breakfast, but it's free so I'm not going to complain. There is no standardization or conformity to anything BW does though. Some have a person who makes you omelettes which I think might even save money in the long run because you only make enough eggs for a person who orders them vs making a whole bunch and hardly anybody ends up eating them, or takes them and decides they don't like them and throwing them in the garbage. There is also a free shuttle to town which is nice. The clerks and workers are very nice here too.

"Very Good value"
B2179MOanneb, 21 Septembre 2017

Extremely pleasant and friendly staff. The front desk and dining room staff take a lot of pride in their hotel and welcoming guests. Abundant breakfast choices. Coffee was very good. Good location in Ithaca area.

"A home away from home because of the great Staff."
RSS65712, 21 Septembre 2017

I spent 4 nights at the hotel and was impressed by the friendly staff. All employees were very accommodating. The shuttle service promptly picked me up at the airport, the check-in took less than 5 minutes, and the room was clean. The General Manager, Terry, helped me to print some documents. Kyle was always willing to answer questions and offer help. The shuttle drivers were very polite, opening the door and offering information about the City. The Hotel is dated, probably built in the 70's, but the Staff makes up for that. The breakfast was great. I will stay there for future visits to Ithaca.

"Comfortable and clean"
Greg L, 30 Août 2017

except for a few stray hairs that fell from the shower curtain. The furnishings were in good condition and didn't feel outdated. The staff was very courteous, especially the kind women tending the breakfast room. Away from the minor hustle and bustle of the downtown area, but still very convenient access to Cornell campus, the town and other attractions. Overall a very comfortable stay.

"Perfectly adequate & affordable lodging "
Babci_13, 27 Août 2017

We have stayed here multiple times while visiting local colleges and then to visit our child at school. This is a fine option for a place to lay your head at an affordable price. The rooms are spacious and clean. This is not fancy or opulent. Breakfast is included and the pool is adequate. The staff is very helpful, polite and accommodating - they are this establishment's best attribute.

"Great place to stay in Ithaca, NY"
rockyrose17, 17 Août 2017

Friendly and helpful staff. Good rates. Nice spacious rooms. Outdoor pool to relax by. Centrally located to colleges, restaurants, shopping, wineries, state parks with waterfalls and hiking and biking trails.

"2.5 star hotel"
katiemN5544CK, 14 Août 2017

It has the basics. Just don't expect more. Rooms have a moldy odor. Some of the rooms require literal hip-checks to get into the room. It gets the job done but there's definitely no luxury. If you are looking for the bare bones then you will be satisfied with this place.

"Not what I expected, in a good way"
Mia R, 13 Août 2017

We are not loyal to Best Western and yet this hotel had the best price within reason for where we needed to stay. We were pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was. We were expecting "TIRED" and it was not. The breakfast could be better but in general we were pleased with the stay.

"Nothing Special - No Problems"
rhumane, 12 Août 2017

Amenities were as expected at a Best Western, clean, comfortable, inexpensive. Convenient to downtown and Cornell, walk to several good restaurants. Tiny pool nobody seemed inclined to use. Standard BW free breakfast fare.

"HORRIBLE "expect bugs in Ithica""
754bonniew, 08 Août 2017

I was told to expect the bugs in my room because I was in Ithica, NY but got my room changed none the less, then the room I was switched into had ant traps outside the door, and the door did not shut! I told the front desk and they were still rude and told me how I was only one person, staying for business, for one night (does it really matter?!?)

"Very nice hotel, close to town and university"
Jane G, 08 Août 2017

This is a good place to stay if you are visiting Ithaca.Although it isn't in the city, the free six minute shuttle service into town or to the university was a wonderful anemity. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Adequate breakfast if you want to save time in the morning. Highly recommended.

"Good stay"
Steph B, 06 Août 2017

We were here for the weekend and it was exactly what we needed... clean room, pool, breakfast, wifi. People in our party did have issues with their stay. One had wifi issues, another's toilet didn't flush properly. Calls to the front desk were made in both cases, but nothing was resolved. That being said, everyone else in our family had fine stays. There were many of us staying at this BW. The front desk lady was fabulous our first night there... she printed out menus, allowed us to use the breakfast room for our dinner when the rain came in (we were outside by the pool, at first).

"Good BW"
W H B, 28 Juillet 2017

Stayed for 4 nights. Would return to this BW if in the area. All services were excellent. This is especially true of the van drivers and their courtesy; While this BW is relatively old, it has been well maintained. The rooms are very good.

"Visit Cornell"
13wuh, 17 Juillet 2017

This hotel is old. The AC was Loud but worked. When we walked in, the room was freezing and the temperature was at 64 degree. Not much choice in the town, all hotel were at 200 dollars and up. For the price it's not worth to stay here if you have a car to drive around.

"Perfect for our college visit"
njmom510, 15 Juillet 2017

Clean, comfortable, accessible parking, spacious room and bathroom. Close proximity to food, gas and colleges. Unfortunately we missed breakfast but there appeared to be many options. Would definitely choose this again.

"Great value"
440nelsonf, 14 Juillet 2017

located at the outskirts of a shopping center, a 24 hour supermarket, restaurants are in walking distance Nice clean rooms, decent breakfast! Staff was very helpful I would def come back here when going to Ithaca again

"Nice staff but dirty rooms"
dakotalowe1016, 10 Juillet 2017

I am a frequent traveler to the Ithaca area and have been to this hotel many times. The staff is always very kind and offer a warm welcome. The rooms however always seem to be dirty. I have found used towels, dirty bed sheets, liquids still in the ice container, and missing toiletries from the bathroom. The breakfast in the morning is decent, although due to my poor experience with the bedroom cleanliness, I am not sure how much I trust it.

"Good hotel"
Richard G, 10 Juillet 2017

A decent motel on the edge of Cornell's Ithaca campus. Convenient gas, restaurants, grocery store. About 10 minutes drive from main Cornell campus. A little hard to find, since it's tucked between a shopping plaza, some Cornell buildings, and an apt. complex. My favorite thing: Could NOT hear sounds from adjacent rooms during the night.

"Wedding Event"
mamamia6, 03 Juillet 2017

Excellent hotel in Ithaca. We especially liked that it was one-story and you parked outside your hotel room, which made it so convenient for moving luggage. Also, the breakfast was delicious! The scrambled eggs were yummy but the waffles were exceptional! My husband said the coffee was the best! The room was clean and orderly and the staff was outstanding - everyone was friendly and courteous and ready to offer assistance if we needed anything! Very impressed!

"Pet Friendly"
J5375OGbobd, 30 Juin 2017

Loved that we could bring our dog while our other dog was at Cornell Animal Hospital for treatment. The room was clean other than a light switch in the bathroom. I always have disinfectant wipes when I travel so I just wiped it off. The staff was friendly and helpful. Proximity to Cornell is excellent at about 5 minutes. It was fine for what we needed and we would stay there again.

"Great place to stay no matter you reason for being in town."
Larry R, 26 Juin 2017

I found this hotel very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful. It is within walking distance of light shopping and dinner options. The pool looked very inviting but sadly, no bathing suit in my luggage. I will remember this Best Western when I am in Ithaca.

"Great night's sleep"
Marijo R, 25 Juin 2017

This Best Western Hotel stands out. It is quiet, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located. The breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were good with directions and maps, and suggestions about places to visit. It was nice to have an in room refrigerator.

"Just average"
such_a_travel_junkie, 21 Juin 2017

It definitely needs to be upgraded because it looks quite old, but for a budget hotel it's pretty good. It's very quiet and close to Cornell and a bunch of places where you can eat. I guess it is okay overall.

"Good Service - In need of upgrade"
Ruthie T, 21 Juin 2017

Pros: QUIET rooms. Comfortable beds. Dog-friendly. Super nice housekeeping staff. Location is good if you need to go to Cornell. Cons: Fitness center can easily be improved by adding a FAN, adding some cleaner for users to wipe down equipment and restocking towels on a regular basis. The bathroom in my room was incredibly out-dated and in need of repair. One of the lights was out so it was quite dark. The shower was old and gross. Housekeeper missed checking the ice bucket so mine was full of water. The girl that checked me out seemed annoyed that I asked for a printed copy of my bill. In reading other reviews I see the manager stating that presenting my room key at Agava would get me 10% off my bill. I've stayed here twice now and NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THIS. Would have been nice to know before I had dinner there with my family. Overall this place is ok, but a few minor things could really step it up a level.

"Conference in Ithaca/Cornell University"
Ken B, 20 Juin 2017

The staff and services that we rec'd were top notch. The staff were very informative and helpful. The breakfast was more than Restaurant quality and the Shuttle services was outstanding. I went for a one day conference at Cornell and I brought my wife. She loved the Commons for shopping and eating and we especially enjoyed the Boat Yard Restaurant.

"Nice place"
Slorg, 19 Juin 2017

This is a very pleasant little hotel only minutes from Cornell. Free breakfast is good and rooms are comfortable and clean. Good value and friendly staff. Business center was also free and easily accessible.

"Adjacent to Cornell"
Mark W, 26 Mai 2017

We're here for our eldest grandson's graduation, so we don't complain too loudly about having to book years in advance at a radically inflated room rate for a minimum of three nights. However, the room should not have had trash left over from the last occupant. At best this is a conveniently located mediocre motel. But we will happily return in two years for our younger grandson's graduation, already booked and paid in advance.

"Stay somewhere else"
Hello12345_11, 22 Mai 2017

Unfriendly staff, awful breakfast, uncomfortable mattress, inadequate blankets. Ill say it again for emphasis: Unfriendly staff, awful breakfast, uncomfortable mattress, inadequate blankets. Stay elsewhere if you can.

"Fine but nothing special"
Irish_Toulouse, 21 Mai 2017

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room was of a substantial size but it was quite cold. The breakfast was fine but nothing extraordinary. Overall this hotel does what it says on the tin and you get what you pay for

"Ok but definitely needs updating"
conradstx, 15 Mai 2017

If you are on a tight budget and don't mind feeling like you are not in a high-quality establishment, then this is the right place for you. The room was ok but in desperate need of updating. Loose bathroom tiles, dirty grout lines, frayed carpet, dated and chipped sink. The good part was the thermostat worked well, the bed-linens were decent and the room was spacious for a family of 4. The breakfast included was a bonus and was decent; however, during the rush, there was only one person re-stocking and cleaning up - and she was great, but the management should certainly look at adding another person, as there was a lot of congestion on clearing tables, restocking food, etc... The walls are paper-thin so you will hear everything around you. We actually made a specific request for no housekeeping for the two nights we were there but that message did not get conveyed to housekeeping after our first night. To make matters worse, they parked their cart right outside our room and were having long extended conversations right outside our room early in the morning. While Ithaca is relatively safe, if you are very security minded, the doors leading to the inside corridors, were not locked at night. So while you will have the advantage of an inside corridor leading to your room, the security is on-par with a motel with outside corridors. I guess this is just a personal preference for you... Will I stay there again if I am in Ithaca. Probably Not. I would pay a few extra bucks to stay at the Marriott. I would like to give it 2.5 stars but that is not an option, but 2 stars by TripAdvisor standards is "poor", and this is definitely not a poor establishment, but it is indeed slightly below average...so erred on the side of the positive.

"Surprised"
M2332PObriand, 13 Mai 2017

Very surprised by the quality of the room that I stayed in. Very different and very high end for what I was expecting. Very refreshing. I'll definitely return to the same location for another trip within the next year.

"Great price good product"
Ko K, 11 Mai 2017

Booked online via one of the hotel room aggregators. The price was right and provision of product and service was satisfactory. I was looking for a decent price for one night, and most all hotels in Ithaca were over $100.- a room. This one was much less, and still provide the 2.5 star rated service and quality . Happy Customer.

"Visiting Cornell University"
Janet T, 30 Avril 2017

If your coming to Cornell to visit for college trips it's a great location 2 mins from Cornell. The front desk staff is very friendly but their room cleanliness needs major improvement. They offer future bookings for Cornell graduations.

"Quiet and pleasant stay"
benjamincM7568GH, 24 Avril 2017

The hotel was booked by Cornell University staff and as such we didn't really have a choice in the matter. It is what I would call "functional" and within the range of functional hotels the staff stand out as particularly friendly and the beds as particularly bouncy. It was an enjoyable stay, for myself, my wife and our daughter. The only real issue we had was with breakfast: in this day and age it is unacceptable to offer single use recipients and cutlery (plastic, cardboard).

"Staff was great; hotel needs improvements"
C2789VPellenh, 21 Avril 2017

loose tiles in bathroom allowed ants to swarm there by morning. The spigot on the waffle batter fell out and batter flowed on me and the counter until the staff ran in to reinsert it. They said this happened weekly. Beds were clean and comfortable; room was quiet.

"Giant Rooms Close to Cornell"
Trippysloomis, 17 Avril 2017

We visited Cornell and this hotel offered a great location and spacious rooms, it was less than a 5 minute drive to campus and easy to get back and forth between campus and hotel. The breakfast was also good- the communal room was clean and the staff did a great job keeping everything stocked.

"Nice clean hotel"
familytraveler201115, 13 Avril 2017

It's a nice hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms. The staff is nice and the breakfast is decent. I really wish they didn't water down their juice at breakfast. The location is good if you are visiting Cornell or areas close to it. There are stores and restaurants very close by. The phone was broken in one of our 2 rooms and the rooms could have been vacuumed a little better, but it's still very nice for the price.

"Best Western On Cornell Campus"
Anne Moore O, 13 Avril 2017

One really big plus is a free shuttle that will bring you to the downtown of Ithaca for dinner! You should eat at Moosewood and Collegetown Bagels also excellent. The rooms look out at either a parking lot or a road so no views, but beds comfy!

"great for short stay!"
jovanateq, 13 Avril 2017

I stayed with my family there with purpose of visiting my sister who is studying at Cornell. This seemed like very affordable option, not too far from campus. Hotel is older but clean and room was big and comfortable. Staff is very helpful and that gave us all information we needed. My favorite thing is that they provide complimentary rides wherever you need to go around! And breakfast in the morning was good!

"Excellent location near Cornell campus, nice big room, and hospitable staff"
Jun P, 13 Avril 2017

We stayed one night to visit a colleague who studies at Cornell. This place is literally one right turn away from the campus. So, easy to navigate. I really don't understand how this place is difficult to get to; "Google Map" Anyhow, check in was a breeze and the lady at the reception was super nice. The room is huge with high ceiling and a fireplace. It is well appointed and very clean. Bed and linen was very comfortable. Everything you expect out of a Best Western chain. Yes, the room is a bit dated but it is very well appointed and clean. Upon checking out, the reception lady asked me how my stay was wanting an honest feedback so I had told her it was great with exception to one minor detail. She listened and told me that they would fix it for the future stay. Great location, nice big room, great customer service. I definitely would stay here again.

"Stayed overnight for a college visit"
Sandy L, 12 Avril 2017

The hotel was a bit difficult to get to, located in the back of a large strip mall. The rooms are shabby; water stains on the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, lots of dust behind the night table. Breakfast was standard motel fair- no better, no worse then any other breakfast bar. Probably would not stay there again.

"Visit to Cornell"
393harleyc, 07 Avril 2017

I recommend this hotel as it is a super convenient stay given its location adjacent to Cornell. The staff are also super nice, as my shuttle driver waited for me to make sure I caught the bus back home. The front desk staff are also very helpful.

"Over and Above...Many, Many Thanks!"
Ringlady11, 17 Mars 2017

Over and above the generous and comfortable accommodations, and the wonderful convenience to restaurants, groceries and Cornell University, is the amazing staff at this local hotel. Ithaca, NY was hit with a major snowstorm this week, while I was working at Cornell. The manager and staff looked out for my well being while I was stranded for several days at the hotel when the county roads, most local businesses and the university closed down. Before the full force of the storm hit, the shuttle driver drove me to campus in his personal vehicle and braved treacherous roads to get me to work. And when the snow finally stopped, the staff made sure my car was cleaned off so that I could finally head back home. I have stayed at many hotels over the years for business and for pleasure, and have rarely come across such a considerate hotel staff. I urge anyone traveling to Ithaca to stay at the Best Western University Inn!

"Convenient, comfortable (if you're not scent sensitive)"
Ellen953, 16 Mars 2017

Convenient to Cornell U. at 4- 6 minutes away by car or shuttle. Also walkable Rite Aid and food store. Rooms comfortable both trips. Easy access from parking to rooms short distance away. Quiet on first trip. 2nd trip had some hallway and adjoining room noise due to more rooms occupied - but quiet by 9pm. Unpleasant for me because of sickly floral scent in hall and rooms triggering bad headache both trips. (Had same problem at Quality Inn) Also was unpleasant walking through cigarette smoke outside entrances. Staff friendly.

"Good hotel for visiting Cornell"
Sangwoo C, 28 Février 2017

Probably best location for visiting Cornell university. One of the best considering price and facility. A comfortable room and a nice self-servicing breakfast. I would absolutely recommend if you are looking for a budget hotel with convenient access into Cornell university.

"Danger alert"
CNYTravelView, 21 Novembre 2016

Most of my reviews on this site are positive. This one can't be, as this hotel does something that could cause guests' deaths. First, Good About This Hotel: It's close to Cornell U, in a quiet plaza with several eateries nearby. Hot breakfast is good; there's a complimentary shuttle van. Now The Bad: There were multiple hairs (animal? human?) in the bed sheets. Hotel has a worn '70s vibe. As other guests also note, there are hefty price hikes for "event weekends." Really Bad: I booked a room in the "pet-free wing," as my kid has asthma. Turns out, there were multiple pets in the "pet-free wing," and a pet smell was obvious. Since pet-triggered asthma/allergy attacks can be fatal, hotel needs to assure safety of ALL guests by not mixing "pet" and "pet-free" areas. Other hotels do this, no problem. Staff just shrugged, admitting next morning, "sometimes pets stay in no-pet rooms. It depends." Since 30% of adults and 40% of kids have asthma/allergies, says the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, this hotel's dangerous practice could cause deaths in guests trusting this hotel's word. Hotel made no pledge to be safer. No remedy. Bottom Line: You can do better; much better.

"Pet-free room promise broken"
CNYTravelView, 15 Novembre 2016

PROS: Location in quiet East Hill Plaza is just 1/2 mile from Cornell University, with several eateries within walking distance. Good hot breakfast; friendly breakfast & housekeeping staff; complimentary shuttle van. CONS: Worn '70s vibe; hefty price hikes during "event weekends"; found hairs in the sheets. But the big problem: since my kid has asthma, we booked room in the "pet-free wing." Turns out there were multiple pets in the "pet-free" wing, and previously in our room. Kid had breathing problems. I explained to staff that since pet-triggered asthma attacks can be fatal, they need to assure safety of ALL guests by not mixing "pet" and "pet-free" areas. Simple fix; no problem at other hotels. Staff just shrugged, acknowledging "sometimes pets stay in the pet-free areas. It depends." This attitude isn't just ignorant, it's dangerous. Some 30 percent of adults and 40 percent of kids have asthma/allergies, says the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America. Future guests may have fatal asthma attacks due to this hotel's negligence. Hotel made no pledge to be safer, or improve. No remedy. UPSHOT: For the same price (or less), you can do better.

"Feels like a two star hotel, value drops because of that"
Justin O, 04 Novembre 2016

This hotel feels like a two star hotel. The room was clean enough, but we did find some hairs on the sheets, and the bottom sheets were not fitted and pulled up in the middle of the night to reveal the bare mattress. Tiles in the bathroom were loose, and the door handle was half functioning. It gives the impression that as if the business is cutting corners to save money. The hotel is generally as dated as you'd expect a typical two star hotel to be, as is the breakfast. The internet was very fast though and the staff was generally friendly.

"Great location and good value"
Scot M, 03 Novembre 2016

For visitors to Cornell University, the number one choice for lodging is typically the Statler Hotel, located in the middle of campus and largely run by students of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration. But if you can't stay there...The Best Western University Inn is a great option. Conveniently located a short drive or long walk from campus, it delivers great value for the money.

"Generally good, but a mixed bag"
drmjd, 01 Novembre 2016

After a little discomfort registering (got a little lecture about how much vehicle info is wanted by the hotel, why, and what happens if we do not provide what they request - my partner was clearly uncomfortable), we found that the room was interesting: a mix of old-fashioned mirrors with elaborate gold frames, and a soaring cathedral ceiling. The ceiling was so high that the room was more like a tower or silo. A little old-fashioned, but fine, and the room itself was quite large. Floor could have been more carefully vacuumed. Our request for a late checkout was given, and the housekeeper was very pleasant about it (not always the case). There was a table in the hallway that was stacked with various linens; it did not present a neat appearance, and did not inspire confidence. Breakfast had a variety of choices, including soy milk, but yogurt was only artificially-sweetened. The location is in a relatively quiet area adjacent to a plaza.

"An old, unrefurbished motel"
fenwayman, 22 Octobre 2016

I chose to stay at the Best Western University Inn in Ithaca for one reason: The Cornell Campus-to-Campus bus will drop you off there (this bus picks people up in Manhattan and drives nonstop to Ithaca). Unfortunately, this convenience is the only really good thing about the hotel. The hotel is old and pretty bare bones. The furniture in the room was old and scuffed up. I was lucky that I got two beds, as one of the matresses was so lumpy and soft that I would not have been able to sleep on it. The other mattress was clearly newer. The room was huge, but the window was tiny and it made the room feel dark. Basic easy to provide niceties, like a local guide, a channel guide for the television, or even a page describing the hotel's services, were lacking. The shower was really poor: the water pressure was barely enough to rinse the soap off.... but to get it that high you had to set it to lukewarm. The staff were competent and helpful; they know the area and the shuttle service was reliable. The hotel does not have a dinner restaurant but it is adjacent to a small mall that includes a bagel place, a Chinese restaurant, a subway restaurant, and a full grocery store. A burger king and a Rite Aid drug store are also within walking distance. Bring food if you will be arriving late. Overall, the hotel was far too expensive for the quality it provided.

"OK but only one resturant (AGAVA) closeby"
PerryCountyPA, 19 Octobre 2016

An older but for the most part well maintained BW. For the first time visitor to the Ithaca area, remember the student population is most EVERYWHERE on foot. Most are looking at their various devices with earphones / buds in use. They do not pay close attention to traffic most of the time.

"Poor costumer service! "
Viktoria G, 18 Octobre 2016

I never left a bad review in my life, but the experience was really unpleasant. The hotel itself was pretty nice and basic, but upon arriving to our room, we have discovered that the blankets are paper thin. Like, literally thinner than the towels. The temperature outside was 0 degrees Celsius! We called the reception to ask for some warmer blankets, more suiting the weather outside, and got 3 more blankets exactly the same. Because I saw thicker blankets in the closet of a different room that was shown to us before, I went to the reception to try to explain the situation. The response I got was "well how many more blankets do you want?! " and "this are the heaviest blankets that we have, so just turn on the heat" trying to explain that I saw thicker blankets was useless. Since we were 3 people sharing the room, and some of us don't like sleeping with air conditioning, this wasn't a really practical solution, besides the receptionists attitude was really unpleasant and impatient. I think that a season-appropriate blanket is a reasonable request for a paying guest of this not so cheap hotel.

"Outstanding service"
Beverly M, 17 Octobre 2016

The Ithaca Best Western provided by far the best service I have experienced in a long time. The staff have guest services at the top of thier list. They have a "can do" attitude and really deliver quality service. Everything about this stay was excellent!

"Convenient location, large rooms"
Njmmom, 15 Octobre 2016

Stayed for 3 nights over Columbus Day weekend. Location was great for going to many places - Cornell University, Cayuga Lake, Watkins Glen. Easy access to highways. Rooms was good size. Nice to see bathroom with 2 sinks!!! Fireplace in room worked on timer. Didn't really give off much heat to the room. Beds were comfy. Was surprised that there was no information book inside the room - for local attraction info, TV channel info (had to just keep searching to see what channels were available). Housekeeping could have done a little better job cleaning bathroom - bugs stuck to wal between door and shower. Breakfast was OK, though it was the same sausage and scrambled eggs every day. And the standard waffle maker. For the area, the price was higher that we have seen for other Best Westerns. THink they were taking advantage of the holiday weekend.

"Donkey Symposium at Cornell University"
Regina M, 15 Octobre 2016

Best Western was very close in proximity to Cornell University. Although we had a difference of opinion with the final bill, supervisor fixed bill and gave us a lower price than the initial quote!!!!!!!

"A quiet, clean, friendly, and pleasant place to stay!"
Donna B, 12 Octobre 2016

This was our second visit, and we were as satisfied as we were the first time. The breakfast was great, the room was clean, quiet, and completely met our needs, with a small refrigerator, desk, and wide-screen TV. The bed was comfortable, and, to be redundant...it was QUIET...which we value highly...!! A great place to stay, with a perfect location in Ithaca...loved it...!!

"Don't judge by location"
magwaqone, 10 Octobre 2016

Had to change rooms on arrival but all done very amicably and new room very pleasant overlooking the grasslands and easy access to car. Good sized room with unusual corner fire, very cosy. Breakfast was excellent and comprehensive in spite of it being a BW. Short run into town which was easy enough after doing it a couple of times.

"Columbus Day Weekend"
Kristiane L, 09 Octobre 2016

My husband and I reserved a room for two nights over this Columbus Day Weekend for a wedding event in Ithaca. Besides being WAY OVERPRICED probably because of Holiday Weekend, our room would barely be worth half the rate we were charged even through Hotels.com. We came in very late on Friday evening and the wedding was on Saturday afternoon. We left our room at 3:00 PM on Saturday and even though we removed the Privacy Tag off the door, when we returned at 11:00 PM on Saturday, our room wasn't cleaned! The decor is dated, the closet and bathroom door were scratched and peeled, and there was no mirror in the room except for the bathroom! Overall lighting in the room was terrible and the electric fireplace didn't even come close to making up for the $250 a night charge...plus taxes, of course!! Last time we'll ever stay there!

"The only good thing about this hotel is its location"
estepeda, 08 Octobre 2016

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. The breakfast was terrible. The staff was not helpful. There was this person, Sarah, at the reception. She was extremely rude. The room was not clean. When I woke up in the morning, I had these itchy bites on my skin, probably because of bedbugs. Appliances in the rooms are dated. Poor service and overpriced...Totally disappointing! I would definitely not stay there again.

"Best Western Ithaca"
Suzann521, 23 Septembre 2016

This is a nice place to stay if near Cornell or Ithaca. Rooms with fireplaces very nice. Breakfast is good, van service great. Van service allows you to not have to deal with parking in town or on campus. Staff very attentive. Ive stayed here on a number of occasions.

"Clean, comfortable, reasonable"
315cliffords, 20 Septembre 2016

Our motel experience met our needs and that is all we ask for. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the price was reasonable for the area. There are several common areas where people can gather and visit. A downstairs one is fairly private. A comfortable chair in the room would have been nice, but not needed. We were more than satisfied. However, it's location sign should be more visible from the road. some nearby trees need to be trimmed. it is very easy to pass by it.

"Pleasant Choice"
Dorthy V, 19 Septembre 2016

Though an older facility, the updates certain make this a pleasant & comfortable place to stay in ithaca. Quite convenient to CU campus with easy parking. No odor of tobacco! Staff positive and willing to assist.

"Basic"
Judith K, 19 Septembre 2016

This hotel is adjacent to Cornell campus. It provides low cost accommodation in a relatively convenient location. Hotel was clean and reasonably comfortable. Major drawback is noise level. My room was adjacent to busy areas but my coworker was assigned a more remote location and was disturbed by hall traffic throughout the night, too. Sound proofing poor!

"Mold in Bathroom"
Kelly B, 16 Septembre 2016

Though this room was a bit expensive for a older property. It was more than $200 for a Saturday night, and was not worth that money. We booked for a wedding that had rooms blocked. The rooms had some upgrades, like flat screen TV's, and furniture, over all this Hotel is very dated.

"Kristin"
Kristin M, 06 Septembre 2016

Great hotel! Very clean, large, comfortable rooms. Vaulted ceiling in room over seating area. Very unexpected from outside, which looks more like a motel. Breakfast was good, but could use more room as it was very crowded. My only complaint was the not so friendly front desk staff.

"Part of a Wedding Group"
annemW2594WU, 06 Septembre 2016

The staff was helpful and the breakfast plentiful with sufficient variety. The room was satisfactory. Could use a bit of updating in the rooms. Conveniently located. There appears to be public transportation with a stop very close to the front of the property which goes all around the Cornell Campus.

"Bad Mattresses, barking dog"
Nancy N, 05 Septembre 2016

This hotel was not inexpensive ($209) but the mattresses were awful (lumpy, very soft) and this pet friendly hotel had us next to a barking dog whose owner had left it in the room. Same dog woke us a 6:45 on Sunday. There are much better options in Ihaca although the hotel is very convenient for Cornell.

"Bad value. Big room, bad beds, not even a plastic laundry bag"
jeremysmom, 02 Septembre 2016

We have been travelling for the past week and this is the 4th hotel that we have stayed in (we are in Ithaca for a wedding, and this is the wedding hotel). It is the most expensive (including Niagara Falls Sheraton, the least comfortable, the fewest amenities, and the least friendly). First, the pros: (1) the room is large and has a couch & chair; (2) there is mini fridge; (3) the WiFi is excellent - per my teen, it is the best WiFi we have encountered. The cons: (1) the beds are old - you can hear the springs when you sit on them and feel them when you lie down. (2) the bed has only a very thin cotton blanket for warmth. (3) the room had no information binder, no channel guide, no pen, and no plastic bag for laundry -- all amenities I would expect at a $200+ hotel. (4) the receptionist bordered on brusque when I inquired about getting the rooms recommended on Trip Advisor ("all rooms are the same" - which does not bode well for all the rooms), and also asked about WiFi signal -- my son does online courses and needs a strong signal -- all I asked was whether the room had a strong signal; (5) the pool is tiny and outdoors. The hotel advertises a shuttle that will take guests into town, but when I inquired about it, I was told that it was not running tonight -- a Friday night -- because Cornell was having an event in town that would create chaos. I usually wait until the end of my stay to write a review, but this time I had to review during our stay.

"Ok hotel"
atab67, 30 Août 2016

The hotel is fine and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. On the other hand the room was expensive. . beds are really small for 2 people and the hotel corridor is a bit smelly. Fu the room was expensive

"Not worth the rate"
Tamar G, 26 Août 2016

Due to move-in for freshmen at Cornell the rates were exorbitant !!!!! Paid 5 star hotel rate for a mediocre cigarette reeking room(designated nonsmoking room). Rooms are clean but dated and shabby looking. Unfortunately, the location which is very close to Cornell Campus enables Best Western to capitalize on the need for rooms at peek dates on campus.

"Best Hotel in Ithaca!! Always stay here!!!"
kagirl222, 25 Août 2016

My family stayed here for a mini stay-cation to relax and get ready for the up coming school year. We were greeted at check-in by Sarah who is excellent at her job. Upon check-in she noticed that we had a room with a 1 king bed and offered to change the room to double queen. We got a 1 king Jacuzzi room. The room was clean, beds are comfortable, nice chair and overall very comfortable and relaxing. Coffee and Tea are available 24/7 which is a nice bonus. Being so close to Ithaca Downtown and Cornell campus which is nice to have access to. I would highly recommend this hotel to any friends/family visiting the area.

"Business Trip to Ithaca NY"
Peter P, 15 Août 2016

The Best Western in Ithaca was perfect for our two night weekend stay. Close to shopping, the University and all. The hotel has everything you would wish - including an outdoor pool. The complementary breakfast is the best we've ever experienced -- just the ticket for a good start on the day.

"Check your hotel bill! "
Archmama, 08 Août 2016

Good size rooms, location is convenient to the Cornell campus, breakfast is simple but quite good. One word of warning; do review your bills very carefully... I was duplicately charged for a 3 night stay, and I had to bring it to the management to clear it.

"Buisness"
TOMMY C, 07 Août 2016

This hotel is my first choice when i visit Ithaca. Its clean, staff is helpful and i like the location. You can usually get a discount which always help. A lot of people come to this hotel at any given time so its best to book online

"Clean rooms; helpful staff; nice breakfast"
MitchellAndrewKent, 25 Juillet 2016

The rooms were clean, and the hotel staff was very helpful during the stay. They went as far as to offer my family a ride to Sage Hall on Cornell's campus when the wedding shuttle was late in arriving. The breakfast in the lobby area had a nice range of items available, including hard boiled eggs, yogurt, make-your-own waffles, cereals, toast, English muffins, hot sausage patties and scrambled egg-beaters.

"Nice hotel close to downtown"
Joyce B, 21 Juillet 2016

nice hotel, small pool and breakfast area but very comfortable beds, staff is very nice was on college visits and is close to two big colleges Ithaca and Cornell plus close to downtown Ithaca I was say a bit dated but overall a nice place to stay

"Nice room, good service and good wifi!"
S1805, 20 Juillet 2016

Check-in process was very smooth and staff were very helpful. Room was of a generous size, very clean and bathroom was immaculate. WiFi connection was great throughout the hotel (handy for sending holiday photos to friends!) and hotel well located near restaurants, convenience stores and buses. The shuttle bus to the town centre was very handy and easy to understand - well worth it for $1! Nice Chinese and southern American restaurants close-by for those looking for a dinner reservation somewhere. The breakfast is basic, but it does the job - choice of bagels, cereals, scrambled egg and yoghurt. Would definitely recommend hotel to others.

"Great overnight hotel"
Cindy B, 20 Juillet 2016

This hotel served it's purpose for us: a nice place to crash for the night. It was very quiet and close to many other restaurants and stores. The people behind the desk were very helpful and came to fix the hotel phone that we were having issues with and make the pull-out sofa bed for us. The breakfast in the morning was very good too. There were a few maintenance issues, as the light in the bathroom was blown out (though the other lights in the bathroom did work) but it was perfect for an overnight stay.

"Nice place, and good value"
Steve I, 19 Juillet 2016

This hotel is really close to Cornell. Its nice and clean. The breakfast was good. The staff was really nice and helpful, especially the man who is the Sales Director (sorry, I can't remember his name). The one problem is that the building my room was in (400 wing), had an unlocked door. Anyone can come into this building. There needs to be a lock on the front door.

"Great place to stay"
Debbie B, 19 Juillet 2016

We visited Ithaca for a friend's wedding this past weekend. This was one of the places that we could choose to stay and we are glad we did. The motel was located close to the venue, but also accessible to many great places to visit. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the beeakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here agian if in the area.

"Never Disappointed"
Dan O, 18 Juillet 2016

This is an usual property, but that's a good thing. Quaint, Friendly, Clean, and with some casual dining options close by. I love the staff and the ambiance and this is the only place I stay when I am in town.

"standard room"
teachertraveler28, 16 Juillet 2016

This was a typical motel. Nothing special. Rooms were clean and comfortable. View of the parking lot. Breakfast was fine. Location was in a strip mall. Free shuttle service and pick up to Cornell was terrific and nice surprise.

"Maintenance Issues & Service Issues"
Clifford D. W, 08 Juillet 2016

Rooms were not cleaned properly, or at all, unless multiple reminders were given to the staff. The refrigerator contained leftover food items from previous guest. When we arrived back from the grandson's wedding we discovered that a shopping bag full of my elderly mother's clean "Depends" adult diapers was disposed of leaving her empty handed when the stores were all closing. The electrical outlet was loose and falling out of the wall. The bathroom faucet lever was very loose, difficult to control and leaked water on the counter top when operated. Beds were too soft and the pillows were way too thick giving me a sore neck.

"Priceline Deal"
Patricia S, 30 Juin 2016

The hotel was average and comfortable! It had a good breakfast that ends at 10:00a.m.i was able to extend my stay by one day with no problem! The layout of the property is a little different if you do not mind walking a little!

"Summer Weekend"
Paula M, 30 Juin 2016

The location to Cornell University and downtown Ithaca was excellent - very little traffic congestion. Grocery store, Collegetown Bagel and Chinese restaurant was walking distance. Hotel room was clean and staff very polite. Would recommend.

"Comfortable stay and friendly staff"
Lynette257, 28 Juin 2016

Large, clean and comfortable room. Excellent shuttle service to the college campuses, Ithaca Commons and to the Airport. Also, great location if you want to use the public buses. Friendly staff and great breakfast in the mornings. I will definitely stay here again when visiting my daughter at school.

"Odd floor plan but great location"
Fotogrrl247, 27 Juin 2016

Stayed overnight for business, had no trouble finding this facility, but could be tricky for late arriving guests after dark. Conveniently located in a retail plaza with easy access to numerous food establishments, especially Collegetown Coffee (see separate review). Room was a double non smoking, with an enormous jetted tub within the bed area. The bathroom itself was very adequate with shower and other amenities like shampoo, hair dryer, plenty of towels. The rooms are fairly large overall., I spent a quiet night. Parking is on the same level as each room unit and the hotel is divided into numerous buildings on a hill. Handicap access is good. The parking lot is well lit. Free breakfast was the usual whole fruits, pastries, and tasteless coffee. When you have a three minute stroll to an excellent coffee and sandwich place that opens at 630 AM, do yourself a favor and go to Collegetown Coffee instead. I have found free breakfasts are generally adequate if I am starving. Staff was pleasant.

"Excellent Dog-Friendly Motel, Spacious and Nice Location"
jodelino, 26 Juin 2016

We really enjoyed our stay at this motel. We were traveling cross-country with our two small dogs, and chose this motel because it accepts dogs. It is a great place to stay with dogs. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, and there is excellent access to outdoor areas for walking. Nearby is a shopping plaza that includes a great restaurant, Agava, where we were able to dine outdoors with our dogs. We ate there twice and really enjoyed both meals.

"Best Western Stay"
John P, 25 Juin 2016

Reasonable rates, which include a continental breakfast and a shuttle to take you to places around Ithaca in addition to a swimming pool, a parking lot and a fitness center - what more could you ask for?

"Very pleasant experience"
Ari S, 20 Juin 2016

Everything at the Best Western was great. The wifi, the free breakfast, we even got shuttle service to and from various places. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the location was great too -- right beside a grocery store, liquor store, and some restaurants.

"Clean, quiet, efficient"
Bob H, 17 Juin 2016

Entirely appropriate place for what I needed. This trip involved attending a conference and I did not need amenities to entertain customers or clients. Parking was easy, room was spacious and bathroom was clean.

"Good Stay"
Nabobs, 14 Juin 2016

We were attending a reunion at the college and this place was chosen for us so we were not sure what to expect. It was a good choice with many positive surprises. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well every night. The room had a fireplace and a jacuzzi in the room. There was more storage than many apartments. Our entire group occupied building 4 in the back so it was quiet and very nice to have our own people coming and going with us. The breakfast had everything anyone would want: Eggs, sausage, cereals, sweet breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, cream cheese, etc. The coffee was kept replenished so it was always fresh and hot and there was hot chocolate and tea. We had fresh towels and amenities daily. I can't think of a way I would suggest improvement. And there was an excellent restaurant right at the end of the parking lot.

"Always a treat..."
Dan O, 10 Juin 2016

I stay at this location every other month for a few nights and have never been disappointed. The staff makes the experience personal and is very attentive and well informed. This remains my favorite place to stay in Ithaca.

"Great place to stay!"
quackers50, 10 Juin 2016

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, wonderful breakfast included. The breakfast offered so many choices. There wasn't one thing I can think of negative about this hotel. I would stay there again!

"Nice but not worth the cost"
Greg L, 07 Juin 2016

The shower had very low water pressure, the hallways had a smokey smell, the room walls were worn down. It was not even close to being worth the very high cost for the area. The service was great, the rooms were ok, but the price does not fit

"Paleobotanical conference in Ithaca, NY"
Nina R, 21 Mai 2016

The Best Western that I stayed at in Ithaca, NY was recommended by the Paleobotanical conference organizers. Most of the conference attendees stayed at this hotel. I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism of the staff and shuttle service that was provided. The room accommodations were nice as well.

"Breakfast"
sfred497, 08 Mai 2016

Someone should look at the health code and shut them down. They chain smoke and touch food. NO washing of hands, NO gloves. Does the breakfast person know how to clean. I saw things when I came up to get coffee, and told my family we are no having breakfast here. I figure if they cant keep a clean breakfast room then she can clean a room.

"Terrific staff; Beds not so great"
P K, 04 Mai 2016

We called at the very last minute on our way into town on an emergency run to the Cornell University Companion Animal Hospital. We chose it because it was the closest to the Hospital. Sara, who took our reservation on the phone, was extremely helpful, compassionate, efficient and informative. I think we got the last room available to accommodate three adults (and, although we didn't need it because our dog was admitted to the emergency room when we arrived, we were very happy to learn that they also accommodate pets). The only real negative was the beds -- the mattresses were old and not really that comfortable, but we were so exhausted after our long and stressful drive, we were just grateful to have somewhere to rest. Free breakfast was okay -- there was a nice variety to choose from, but we didn't fare much better later that week at Denny's, so I'm chalking it up to the area and just the large numbers of people they need to serve. We will definitely stay there again because of the convenience to the hospital and the great, helpful staff (including the cleaning crew), but if we were staying for any length of time, e.g. vacation, we might pay a few more bucks for nicer beds somewhere else.

"Find us if you can!"
Edward W, 03 Mai 2016

Property VERY difficult to find. No sign visible from road. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great selection / quality. Terrible tv choices. Hope you like news or sports. No info on how to use in room fireplace (gas).

"Pleasant overnight stay"
Rita P, 02 Mai 2016

We enjoyed a pleasant overnight stay here. The folks at the front desk were friendly and very accomodating when I asked for more towels. Room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was plentiful, satisfying and best of all FREE!! The breakfast room was also clean and spacious. We would stay here again.

"Disappointing"
Andrea V, 29 Avril 2016

This was an overpriced stay for a motel with poor customer service, old amenities and ambience with significant room for improvement. The entire place, including our room, felt dirty and unkempt. Air handling system was loud and had a mind of its own. Location was convenient for our needs, at least.

"Good location, clean and spacious room"
RHH42, 25 Avril 2016

The hotel is located next to the Cornell campus and within a short drive of the rest of Ithaca. Our room (two double beds) was spacious and clean. The breakfast each morning was good. We would stay here again if we visited Ithaca.

"Great base of operations for visiting Cornell"
mainegirl_9, 25 Avril 2016

We were happy to have a good base for visiting Cornell. We were lucky enough to have a fireplace room and enjoyed it. I also appreciate the free breakfast. It makes getting going in the morning much faster than a restaurant. We did not use it, but they also have a shuttle service.

"Great Family Place"
Corinne D, 21 Avril 2016

Came her because my son was thinking about going to Ithaca, so he audited some classes. Even he commented on how nice the room and bed were. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved the fireplace in the Polo Rooms. Breakfast was good and there was warm food like eggs, sausage and the standard waffle maker. Minutes away from town, Ithaca and Cornell colleges by car. Tucked away in the middle of a mall, so there's convenient shopping and food walking distance away. Great stay, will definitely come here again.

"Great Location Close to Cornell Campus"
M W, 20 Avril 2016

This hotel was fine for a Best Western. It's primary strength is it's location, only a mile or so from the Cornell Campus, making it very convenient. The quality was adequate; room was large enough and had all the required appointments. Shortcomings were as follows: if there was a fan in the bathroom, ours wasn't working; on the first night one of the two queen beds had a top sheet where the bottom fitted sheet should have been and it wasn't long enough to tuck in - by morning we were sleeping on the mattress - to their credit, they changed it the next day to a fitted sheet. Otherwise the mattresses were firm and comfortable, internet worked fine, breakfast was ok and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Think Twice"
Jeffery R, 16 Avril 2016

Front Desk staff and manager are phenomenal, very friendly and professional. The hotel it self is very outdated and run down. However, it is very close to Cornell so it is convenient if you are there for a conference or seminar. The biggest down fall is that the hotel is located in a shopping plaza. The room I stayed in faced the shopping plaza and the windows where waist level and had where the old crank out type with outdated locking mechanisms. If you want better amenities, this is not the hotel. However, if you just need a place to lay your head then this will suffice.

"Turned around"
Allison A, 12 Avril 2016

What started out to be less than pleasant, ended up being more than fine. In the past I have not had good experiences with Best Western Hotels and had stopped booking with them over 10 years ago. I always had issues with them screwing up my room or being dirty. So I was going out of my comfort zone when I booked with them in Ithaca for my nieces tour at Cornell. I have to say the first room they put us in made me remember all too well why I had stopped booking with Best Western. However, the front desk called to see if our room was ok and when I expressed concerned they moved my room. The second room was clean and quite lovely, total opposite the first room. I find it odd that the difference between the rooms was so drastic, but that said they turned this stay around with the second room. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was friendly, polite and helpful. If it weren't for being in one room I felt was a 2 star room - before a room that was nicer I may have rate this hotel higher.

"Run down but with a heart of gold"
Lizanne S, 11 Avril 2016

My daughter and I were in Ithaca for a college event and were a little disappointed in the set up of the hotel, with the rooms across a little alley from the front desk. They were also not the most luxurious (cold air coming in through the heater, holes in the towels, etc.). But the staff was mostly very friendly and attempted to be helpful. Get your own bus info though, they didn't have any knowledge of it!

"The Best of the Best..."
Dan O, 09 Avril 2016

Stayed at this property for only one night. Was very pleasantly surprised by the Quality of the facility and caring attitude of the staff. Would definitely stay again. My GPS sent me to a back entrance which was a little confusing but once I figured it out, all was good.

"A great place"
Yusuf B, 03 Avril 2016

The staff is friendly , the rooms are clean, and the service is great, one of the better places i've been to in a while. And the different facilities and services available make the such a desirable destination.

"Practically good but not super good"
Sangwoo C, 27 Mars 2016

Overall I like this hotel. It has good location, reasonable price, pretty good free breakfast and nice staff, but facilities are not quite old. If you are looking for good one with reasonable price, this is it.

"Ok stay, some minor issues."
Walter J, 23 Mars 2016

Broken refrigerator with slime in the freezer. Front desk just moved me in another room and said they wouldn't deal with the fridge themselves but "leave it for housekeeping to deal with". Room was adequate place to stay out of the elements, but nothing fancy nor exceptional. Was walking distance from the place I was going to which was very convenient.

"Close to Cornell"
marykatt, 20 Mars 2016

My mom and I stayed for a night while visiting my son at Cornell University. The motel is in a perfect location; just a few minutes from the college. Comfort is the main consideration for us, and we found the beds comfortable and plenty of pillows and an extra blanket as well. The breakfast buffet was very good, and included make your own waffles, along with plenty of other choices. Staff at the reception desk were friendly and helpful.

"Excellent nights sleep"
Rebecca B, 17 Mars 2016

I had no complaints at all during my stay, everything I needed was available. Quiet surroundings, comfortable bed, plenty of parking, convenient location, internet speed was satisfactory, bathroom was clean... will stay here again!

"Decent place"
Alex R, 09 Mars 2016

I stayed at this hotel several times while collecting data at CHESS. Its a decent, regular hotel. The best part is the location, which is basically in a shopping center with a grocery store and several options for food. I will stay here again when in the area.

"Best Western in Ithaca is the best."
David S, 01 Mars 2016

I have been staying at the Best Western in Ithaca off and on for the last 5 years. It is consistently one of the best motels to stay at. I have used other hotels in the Ithaca area but always come back to the BW.

"Second visit within the month.."
Nancy V, 22 Février 2016

Always stay here when taking pets to Cornell veterinary clinic for top notch care for our animals. Have never had a problem...very cozy and very nice staff. Our room even had a gas fireplace. Very nice, new bathroom, comfortable beds and pillows... We're there 3 days and nights very cold and snowy but we were very comfortable so will continue to stay there.

"Clean, quiet and convenient"
NYMom65, 19 Février 2016

For the budget price, we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and quiet the room was. Very conveniently located, just minutes away from restaurants, Cornell University and Ithaca College. Would stay here again.

"A Chain hotel with a mom and pop Bed and Breakfast Feel. Loved it!"
bocaberger, 16 Février 2016

I just returned from a quick trip to Ithaca, NY, for a meeting at Cornell University. When I was choosing a place, budget was very important. After reading reviews on Tripadvisor, one thing stood out to me, and that was the manager had responded so thoughtfully to each review. I decided since I was going up for one night I would give it a shot. All I can say is the reviews do not do it justice. The Best Western University Inn, is hidden gem, and if you are going to Cornell, I would suggest you make this your hotel of choice (if budget and value are important to you). First of all, the hotel sits on campus. In fact there are Cornell University office Buildings 30 feet from the hotel. But what makes the hotel a stand out for me is the staff. We drove up during a snow storm and arrived around 9pm. Sarah at the front desk was so professional and genuinely happy to see us. As you know from my reviews I have stayed at many Disney resorts around the globe, Sarah is without a doubt the best reception desk attendant I have ever encountered on the road. She was knowledgeable about the area, asked if we were hungry, and offered us a hot beverage. But it did not end there. After checking in, I forgot to make some copies for the meeting and she immediately offered to not only make the copies, but collate and staple (I was truly asking myself, who is this phenomenal employee and where did she get trained?) Now lets talk about the room. The room was dated, as some reviews suggest, but they were in absolutely no way, dirty. My sheets were clean and stain free as were the towels in the bathroom. the bed was very comfortable, and the room was HUGE. Two double beds plus a pull out couch, refrigerator, desk, and plenty of room to walk around. I always love the individual heat and air controls, because I want the temperature at just the right setting for my needs. Shower and bathroom were spotless, and the coffee maker was brand new with sealed paper cups for hot beverages, and sealed plastic cups for cold. Back to location for a minute. The hotel sits in a shopping plaza, which has a 24 hour grocery store and plenty of choices for eating nice sit down meals, or even fast food (Dunkin Donuts, and Burger King). since there is a fridge in the room, when you stay there you can go to the grocery store and pick up your favorite beverages and snacks. Morning Breakfast was served in a lovely clean breakfast room. With a television showing the news, and plenty of seats. They served hot eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, cold cereals, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs and more. You will have no problem enjoying a healthy breakfast with your family. One of the hotel's administrators, Jim, walked around the breakfast room asking people if there was anything they needed for the day that he can help out with. He offered them lots of area tips, and places to eat, as well as an offer to drive them anywhere in the Ithaca area. This place is great period. Best value around and the friendliest people I have ever encountered in a chain hotel that feels more like a bed and breakfast.

"Loved It!!!"
Sarah W, 16 Février 2016

Best Hotel Staff, all were very friendly and helpful to my needs. I will come back to Ithaca again and stay here again. Breakfast was filling, fitness center was very nice. Was so nice that I didn't have to use stair or an elevator.

"Good price and Nice service"
Sangwoo C, 22 Décembre 2015

Considering the price and facility it was a very good choice. Staffs were kind and nice. The room and facilities were not an excellent but good enough to stay several days. In addition the location is best.

"Best Stay in Ithaca so far"
Jennifer S, 21 Décembre 2015

I have always had to stay at another Ithaca hotel for business connected to Cornell and was always very unhappy with the entire stay. I enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. My only complaint was that the staff at the reception desk were dressed very unprofessional. I think when you are dealing with people so close to Cornell University, a level of professionalism is expect.

"Horrible! Extremely dirty!"
elena564889, 04 Décembre 2015

This hotel is a real nightmare. It's extremely dirty. Everything is dirty there: sheets, towels, bathroom etc. I do NOT recommend this hotel. The price is good and they do provide a free breakfast but it's horrible!!!!!

"Disappointed"
Mathew W, 25 Novembre 2015

Planned to stay two nights but left after one. The first room I was given was not cleaned and looked like there had been a party in it. (I also had a colleague that had the same issue the day before). As I entered the second room the hall light did not work. After turning on other lights in the room I thought I better check the bed. I pulled back the cover to find fuzz and hair in the bed. I pulled the cover back further to find a sock from a previous guest. I asked for new sheets and decided to make my own bed. The sheet given to me appeared clean but well used to include noticing a 1" hole in one of the sheets. Lastly, I went to use the hair dryer and pulled the whole unit off the wall. At that point I decided to check out and find a new hotel.

"Not bad ...could of been better"
Steven S, 16 Novembre 2015

Back board of bed broke in the middle of night and fell on the floor scaring the girl sleeping in the bed. There was lots of noise from other guest keeping us up through the night. Thing happen and I've stayed in this same hotel in the past without these issues. Just think the hotel needs a little updating.

"convenient, great staff"
Joni J, 09 Novembre 2015

I stay here at least 2 times a year, and always appreciate the room attendants. They are super friendly and extremely helpful, no matter what you need! This hotel is convenient to Ithaca College, The Commons and the wine trail!

"Heading in the Wrong Direction"
MisterMVA, 23 Octobre 2015

I stay in Ithaca several times a year and this has been one of my two "go-to" places. But my last stay (October 2015) was very disappointing. I stayed in one of the "Polo" suites (room numbers 400 to 427) and was shocked at what they have done to them since the last time I was there (February 2015). In case you are wondering we had the exact same room. These rooms have gas fireplaces and had been furnished with some beautiful light natural wood color furniture. They also had a table and two chairs. It was really quite cozy and comfortable and attractively furnished in my opinion. The furniture has been replaced with the ugly dark colored Best Western furniture and the table and chairs has been replaced by one really tacky looking lounge chair. The room lighting was already very dark and now it's impossible to even read much of anything in there with the dark colors. I could not read the Ithaca literature left in the room it was so dark. The carpet has also been replaced with an ugly light brown indoor/outdoor type of carpet. Basically the room is a lot less attractive in addition to being very very dark and less functional by removing the table and chairs. My wife and I liked sitting at the table and having a snack in front of the fireplace. These rooms were really a joy to stay in -- I can't imagine what they were thinking when they "refurbished" them. If you are reading this Best Western University Inn please please please at least put some more light in these rooms and bring back the table and chairs. If you still have the bed and dressers that were originally there you should put them back as well. Here's a little more info about the hotel for those who would like to know. It's pretty close to the Cornell campus and sits behind a shopping center with a Grocery store and a few eateries. It's reasonably comfortable and all the rooms are on one floor although it can be along walk from the back of the hotel to the breakfast area. They usually charge more than other places in Ithaca, particularly on weekends and busy times so they are often not the best deal in town. The rooms I describe above cost more than their standard room (two double beds). Some of the regular double rooms have a couch in them (if you are on the wide side of the corridor) and some don't. The hotel does serve a hot breakfast which is the same everyday but pretty good. I am disappointed with the refurbishing that's going on here (applies to all the rooms) as you can probably tell and I may not return unless some corrective action is taken.

"Overpriced. And not sure why. Not a Best Western Plus"
joelpoz, 22 Octobre 2015

Common areas and general appearance a little run down, and neighborhood safe, close to Cornell but a bit run down too. Service fine. Breakfast a little lackluster for BW. Generally a BW fan but maybe the price -which came out in line with the higher end hotels in town- didn't make sense to me.

"Very Clean"
Fay L, 15 Octobre 2015

I was very pleased with this particular Best Western. It was very clean and had a great free hot continental breakfast. I loved the free shuttle to Cornell University and back. I would definitely recommend staying here if you were in the area.

"Awesome Staff but Outdated Hotel"
lilia b, 13 Octobre 2015

I spent one night at the Best Western University, Inn. Overall it was an OK experience although the price is too high for what you get. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and I was grateful for that. The hotel itself is a bit old and rundown. It's still clean but needs to be spruced up. The room was huge and clean, but looked a bit old especially the carpeting. The bed was comfortable and the shower had an amazing water pressure. Breakfast was ok, your usual "Continental" Breakfast, nothing to write home about. Location was good. Overall decent but definitely pricey for what it is.

"review"
Sheila B, 04 Octobre 2015

Ithaca hotels are ridiculously overpriced - but this is clean, simple and staff are very helpful. Good location for Cornell events. we have stayed here a few times. Would definitely recommend for a visit to the university etc

"Good location but mediocre hotel"
josephwP7258WU, 29 Septembre 2015

Mediocre breakfast and overall motel, but good location close to Cornell University. I wouldn't recommend unless you need to be close to Cornell campus. Probably better value for money at motels along Rt. 13 or B&B downtown.

"great staff"
Cornelia F, 29 Septembre 2015

The shuttle service is really excellent in a place where parking on campus is very problematic. There is good space to get together with friends and lots of free coffee. The staff was extremely helpful on transportation and guest issues/

"College Visit"
4Rooks, 28 Septembre 2015

For the area, the Best Western was reasonable. Nice assortment for Continental Breakfast. Shuttle service to the area schools was very appreciated. Unfortunately the many high school students also staying there did not tip our shuttle driver. We were the only party to do so.

"Great!"
Michelle B, 25 Septembre 2015

It was clean & comfortable. The staff was very nice and the continental breakfast was good. It is located extremely close to the Cornell Campus. The surrounding area is picturesque. I have no complaints about our stay or the service.
