« Perfect location for exploring old city »

Great location, next to Grand Bazar, 10 min.walk to Blue Mosque and Haya Sofia.Friendly staff, good breakfast, great rooftop terrace with stunning views over the city, nice little pool, comfy beds, nice bathroom. Rooms are quite small, not enough storage space.

    « Amazing hotel »

This hotel is located centrally close to the grand bazaar and the tram is like 30 seconds away. Amazing hotel that was clean, class, and the staff were amazing The hotel was perfect for our stay, 20 minutes from the airport and also all amenities were close which made our life easier for a few days Junior suite was amazing and the staff were very very good. I have travelled a lot but this would be in my top 5 hotels

    « Fabulous stay »

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights from 3rd May. I would class this hotel as 4 stars rather than 5 stars. However the hotel is in a perfect location, 5 minutes walk from the grand bazar and 20 minutes walk from the Blue mosque. The tram line is very close and enabled us to get to other parts of Istanbul quite easily. A card for the tram can be obtained from reception at a deposit of 10L. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a beautiful view from the terrace overlooking Istanbul. The staff are polite, helpful and professional. Breakfast was similar each day but there was varied options to choose from. The swimming pool is small and located indoors on the terrace. I paid for a aromatherapy massage which was at areasonable cost and very relaxing. i also had use of the sauna as part of the massage package. A lovely surprise from the Guest Relations manager Selami Ta?k?n was to wish me a happy birthday on my second day of arrival and provide me with a complimentary birthday cake on the terrace with my 7 other travelling guests. I had not informed the hotel it was my birthday. This was a very kind gesture and a lovely end to a day of celebrating my birthday. Thank you. I will most certainly book with this hotel again due to the fantastic location and the courtesy and professionalism of the staff.

« Perfect location, clean and amazing staff!! »

We stayed for 5 nights with the aim of doing site seeing and shopping. The hotel definitely didn't disappoint. Great location, spotless and staff go out of their way to help you. I recommend the hotel and will be staying here during my next visit!

If you like luxury hotels, this one is not a luxury, not even a 4 stars hotel. They had promised me a room with sea view but when I arrived there, they said it was not possible. I saw 2 rooms and both very small and with a view to an old glass building. Bathroom very small, old facilities, small room (we had no space for our 2 bags), cleaning very superficial... just like most of the hotels in Istanbul. The TV went black&white the second day and never fixed it even if we let it on so thay they see it. I had another reservation for a better and cheaper hotel but I chose this one because they promised me the room with view and I trusted them, but they lied. In my opinion this is very unprofessional. They also charged me more than the reservation was. The staff is not friendly, they don't even say ?Hi? when you pass by. It's wierd they have good comments about staff or the hotel. I was completely DISAPPOINTED.. I would definitely not stay there again even it is was for free.

    « Decent - not great »

Last stayed here about 6 years ago, and I never remembered it being so ordinary. Location is fantastic. Staff and service are great. Breakfast seems pretty average, except for the honey.... My room had an aircon that never worked for 5 of the 6 days I was there. Staff simply said that the aircon is not working. Bed is a bit work and I tried unsuccessfully to get the mattress changed. Had really awful backache for most of the stay. Friday night and there is a pounding coming from the floor above us, which I can only assume is a disco. Maybe time for me to find a new favourite place to stay in Istanbul.

    « Very good hotel »

The hotel is very nice and clean with kind and helpful staff and the location was exactly what we was looking for. On the roof there is very nice terrace with a great view of the city. The room was clean and comfy.

    « What a find ! »

We visited Istanbul for a two night stay and stayed here and could not have been more pleased. The location was PERFECT, a few minutes walk from the Grand Bazaar, and about 10 minutes to the Blue Mosque and associated historical sights. The room we had was fantastic, spotless, modern and new looking. The room had an excellent size bathroom. The hotel has a superb roof terrace on 7th floor which great views over the water and Blue Mosque can be seen. We ate up here twice for lunch and food we had was excellent and really good value. We ate out one night at a restaurant not far, which was awful, we were conned. We wished we had eaten in the Restaurant at the hotel, the menu was great, and extremely good value. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Istanbul.

    « Thumbs Up »

I recommend Best Western The President Hotel. It was a 5 star experience for me with the hotel's great location, friendly staff, comfy rooms. Thumbs up in every way. I would definitely prefer to stay again.

    « Welcoming »

My first time in Istanbul was marvelous, also thanks to this hospitable hotel, with great view on the Sea of Marmara. Great breakfast with lots of choice. One tip for dinner: please add more choice for vegetarians.

    « Excellent Service »

Had a really great experience in this lovely hotel. Rooms are spacious and well presented, their staff come across always professional and ready to offer help. The views from the terrace is amazing, especially sunset which stunning to say the least. I highly recommend this place to those who are looking at great service, location and spacious rooms.

    « Super stay! »

I had visit The President Hotel last March. The staff were amazing. They should proud themselves. The breakfast and wiev of Terrace were fantastic. To compare most hotels in Europe, The President did a very good job. I will definitely return.

    « Excellent hotel & staff »

Stayed there many times, beautiful hotel with nice view, clean and comfy rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Excellent fast&free wifi service. You cant find a better and closer hotel to Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Beyazit and Eminonu. Steps away from tram line which you can take to go almost anywehere in the city. I will definitely choose President Hotel for my next visit to Istanbul

« Amazing views of Istanbul and ocean »

Me and my husband had a lovely two night stay after travelling around Turkey for two weeks. We had a room with view over the city, and even could see the sunset over the sea from the balcony. The breakfast was a major highlight of our stay. Location was convenient to see the Istanbul. Staff friendly and accommodating.

    « Best value ever! »

From arrival to to departure everyone we meet in the hotel was outmost profesional and friendly! Best value for the price . We had a wonderful room with outstanging views. Breakfast included worth the asking price. What a bargain.

« Best hotel I have ever stayed at »

I have been to Istanbul many times over the years and stayed in many hotels. The president hotel is by far the best hotel I have stayed at and enjoyed the stay so much. This hotel features: *Excellent customer service *Great spa facilities, I loved the rooftop pool. *The location of the hotel is perfect and is situated near the tram station.

    « Consistent High Quality »

We have been coming to this hotel for over 20 years... on numerous occasions. My wife and I managed a quick 4-night getaway in Istanbul within an extended trip to the Middle East. And this hotel did not disappoint. Very friendly and attentive staff. On this occasion we had a bit of a dead spot for WiFi. The next morning the guest relations manager found us in the breakfast room, apologized for the problem and told us he had the IT technician check on the problem and, more importantly, offered to change our room to one with strong WiFi reception as soon as the tech was done checking. That afternoon, Mr. Osman, the front office manager, escorted us and we were upgraded to an excellent room with a view of the Bosporus. A wonderful resolution... The breakfast buffet is the most complete we have ever experienced. An amazing experience. Also the rooftop restaurant again offered us an outstanding dining experience with a great view... excellent food, very attentive service, all at very reasonable prices. We shall return! This is definitely a highlight of our latest Istanbul visit.

« Excellent location, clean rooms and very friendly, helpful staff »

we stayed in the hotel for one day on 23rd February. It is ideally located very close to Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar as well as the Blue Mosque. Lots of good shops and eateries are just 5 min walk away. The bazaar is hardly 500 m. Tram station is round the corner. Breakfast was served on the top floor allowing a grand panoramic view of the sea and other attractions of the city. The spread was huge and delicious. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Overall a very good experience. Didn't face any serious language problem. Would definitely recommend and revisit

    « 9 nights in a decent hotel »

I stayed in this hotel for 9 nights in february 2018. The staff were friendly with me. Their english is good and they were understandable which is not frequent in istanbul even though I speak turkish. The location is PERFECT near the Beyazit tram station and everything is around. Also I felt it was very safe at the hotel and also the location around. From my second floor room it was a bit noisy once the window is open but it's a busy district so nothing to complain about. The only downside is the size of the room. It was a bit small for the 2 single beds. I have stayed at other 4 stars hotels in Istanbul but rooms were bigger. The room is clean and the housekeeping service was good. I would definitely stay again at this hotel and recommend it to friends and family.

« Good location, clean rooms, service could be better though »

Location is good for the old town, grand bazar and trams to European quarter. Rooms clean, tea tray and mini bar limited. Service up in restaurant and bar is ok. Breakfast good but the room is somewhat character and soul less and they serve no fresh juices, orange squash instead of orange juice. First impressions count though and the receptionists and doormen really really need to learn how to smile and say hello. Not once in five days!! It would make a massive difference to their hotel and make it seem so much more friendly. Such an easy thing to fix, a smile costs nothing. For a four star hotel expected a bit more, especially from their rather miserable front desk.

« Horrible service, the staff are not trust worthy and the managers and staff are not friendly »

I lodged into the best western on the 12th feb, and on the 13th I went out with my girlfriend and the room was cleaned and the next day in the morning, I check for my money which I had kept in my wallet in my suitcase and I had lost $450, I reported to the manager and he wasn't very responsive, Instead he made me feel bad, insulted my country and backed his staff, he was laughing at my situation, I tried reasoning with him, I raised my voice and he Told my to never raise his voice at him. He didn't let me talk to the senior manager .guys I am really heartbroken, the trip was going well and after this whole situation I feel that my stay was horrible. Please!!!! Be carful, I don't recommend this hotel for tourist. They take advantage.

    « A decent 4* hotel »

We stayed two nights in this hotel for a short trip to Istanbul. It was in walking distance of the grand Bazaar being only a 5 minute walk away and only 15 minutes from the Blue Mosque and the Hajia Sophia. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Rooms had a hairdryer, which may seem simple, but very important when travelling with hand luggage only. The gym area was reasonable and it had a small indoor pool. Unfortunately, you were unable to use the jacuzzi, steam room or sauna without paying an additional fee, also the staff at the spa area weren't particularly friendly, which made us more inclined to not pay. Breakfast was ok, with a large selection, however the breakfast room wasn't the most inviting. I would definitely recommend this hotel based on its locations and cleanliness.

« Pricey hotel and average experience »

For the cost of the hotel the experience was average. We had a poor check in experience where they said room would be an hour and it was two. A simple apology or a free coffee would of been nice but nothing... The hotel is a good location, walking distance to the main attractions and a stone throw from the Grand Bazaar. Facilities wise they charge €10 per person per day to use the sauna!! This is not included in your room cost so be aware. You can use the plunge pool (it's not a pool you can swim in) and the gym for free. The room was spacious enough and a standard Best Western. View from room in pics. On leaving they got us a taxi who tried to rip us off for toll roads and bridges. Make sure you book via uber and pay on card. The guy literally got out the car demanding more money than on the meter and was a stones throw away from sampling the infamous Glasgow Kiss. Stay safe here!

    « Great location & clean »

We was there for 5 nights and I thinck it is worth and am happy to choose it . Points : 1-If you need more space book suits the rooms a bit smal but very clean and comfort. 2- we was at second floor with yard veiw 201 but we wish to stayed at higher floors 5 or 6 with sea view so ask when booking 3- they give chance to move to another room with street veiw , happy we didnt , yard is better and calm 4- for sure you will get relax if using the inside pool at the roof not a big and deep pool but still you will have nice time we used it every day morning befor going to breakfast 5-the break fast is Great and you will enjoy a nice view of Busphre and also Blue mosqe , if you lucky you may vist a bird nocing on your window wish to have a pice of food 6- the terrace bar is also nice for relaxing during evening open until 23 7- the photo uploaded befor was say the trues and no need to add more photo even they are better than mine 8 Transfer to Hotel: the hotel is very close to Beyezit station(Grand Bazar) so if you come from Attaturk airport it is quit easy to reach hotel , no need for taxi or shuttel from airport just take metro and change to tramoua from Yousefpasha station 9- you can just walk to most of attraction places like Bazar,Haia Sphia, Blue Mosqe, Modesa, Cafaraga Madresasi, sultan ahmet squer, beiezid Musqe, sulaymaniye Musqe 10- hotel sourounded by shops and markets as wholesalers but you can buy some retail shoes, bagagges and at the main street you will find LCwaiki, koton, collins, polo, peircardin ... just by walk may be noo need to go any mall

« Very bad service and the management very bad »

On 6 of January was there to get one room they gave the card key to go to my room but when I went there was some body was there already and I went back to reception it seem to me that normal for them that could happen many times in this hotel ?? !!

« A WONDERFUL hotel, in a very ethnic working neighborhood »

The Best Western Plus, The President Hotel, in nestled in a working neighborhood. A five minute walk from the Beyazit Tram station, seven minuets from the Grand Bazaar, and if you wish to stretch your legs about 20 minuets from the Blue Mosque. The The first thing you will notice is the number of small shops, dealing in leather wears, shoes, and miscellaneous goods for wholesalers / manufactures. The beauty of this type of neighborhood is in the fact that you are setting and eating with the local folks, having coffee in the morning and afternoon snacks with the guys that are workers. The cafes are varied, some for the workers and some up scale places that cater to a wider range of clients. ALL, without reservation, serve wonderful food, (as I write my mouth is watering and I am longing to return. We were in and out of the hotel over a period of about three weeks, we would do a couple city tours then takeoff for a few days on a tour arranged through the hotel staff. All the tours recommended by the staff were superb. More about the hot air balloon ride and the tours to Goreme / Cappdokia in a seperate review. Aside from the hotels unique location is it's personality. A warn, personal, yet professional staff are the heart and pulse of this property. From the first minuet you arrive, (following 20 hours of flight and layover time) you are greeted by the doorman and bellmen who make you feel that you may have met them before, (Humm, Old Friends ?), then when you are greeted by the front desk staff at reception and Mr. Semin Ustun welcomes you to the President Hotel, you know for certain you the long flight must have dulled your memory because Mr. Ustun is way to familiar, not to be a long lost friend. Through out our stay Mr. Ustun was our "Go To" guy, he arranged our local tours as well as those jaunts out of Istanbul. The staff make the hotel, the Health club, the Barber shop, the roof top restaurant all let you arrive and depart with the feeling you have met the staff somewhere, sometime maybe long ago, but a comfortable feeling that comes with a long time relationship. The morning buffet breakfast is great for the daily kick start and the roof top cafe is great for a wonderful sunset over the Black Sea. All said and done, if in Istanbul do take advantage of the wonderful property, and see if you to will recognize the staff from some other travel, some other time, some other place, that warm feeling when you unexpectedly encounter an old friend you have not seen in years.

« Great location, but small rooms »

Hotel is at very awesome location, very near to Grand bazaar and all other market places and restaurants. Staff is helpful and services are good. Rooms are little smaller with no view at all. Bathrooms are clean with all essential things.

« Best Thank you messages »

Best Thank you messages to the president hotel, wonderful service, delicious breakfast, friendly warm company. The staff was wonderful, and the rooms very clean. We will recommend you to our friends, the hotel located was exelent, Many thanks again for all ...

« Excellent in every aspect »

Excellent hotel! We visited as a family of 4 for new year 2018 and stayed for 4 nights. From check-in to check-out we all had a great experience. The hotel staff are very polite and pleasant. All the staff we spoke to could speak English well which was a big plus for us since we couldn't speak Turkish. At check-in we were given a bunch of leaflets by the receptionist which were maps and advertisements for places we could visit which was not very helpful for us since we used GPS and Tripadvisor to find the best places to visit during our stay but I am sure it has helped manually people through their trip. We had 2 connected rooms on the forth floor, our view opposite was the other building but we had the sea view on our right side which we could see from our windows. The rooms were very tidy and clean with plenty of space for our luggage. Every day the staff would refill our tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate and 2 bottles of small water for no extra cost. I called the reception once to bring us dental and shaving kits which they brought up very quick and another time before check-out where I asked for a scale for our suitcases which was again very quick. As for the hotel location, I don't think it could be any better. As soon as you leave the hotel and go up the road for 1 minute. You have a tramva station which you can take to go towards the pier to catch a boat to the Prince islands. 10 minute walk and you can take the underground metro to go to Taksim roundabout which is one of the best places for shopping with almost every brand store that you can think of. You also have a lot of must-see attractions within walking distance of the hotel such as the Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia museum, the Topkapi palace and of course the Grand Bazaar which is a ~3 minute walk from the hotel. We exchanged some Euros to Turkish Lira at the hotel and the rates were very fair. We got some Turkish Lira at Ataturk airport upon arrival and we hope we didn't, I believe the hotel rates were better plus they didn't take any commission so we got a better exchange for our money. Would definitely recommend waiting until you get to hotel to exchange your money. Only problem we had at the hotel was the WiFi, the internet speed for most of our stay was so bad that I couldn't load a simple webpage on my phone or laptop, at times the speed was much better but for most of the time it wasn't very practical. I called the reception once to report this issue and they told me that they will contact technical support to look into the issue and after that I didn't really notice an improvement. This didn't really affect our stay at the hotel since we were there to enjoy our time and see the city not surf the web but I am only putting it here so that the hotel staff can look into this issue. The hotel breakfast was a buffet at the sixth floor of the hotel overlooking the marmara sea. An amazing view to have while having breakfast for sure. There was a wide selection of food from different kinds of bread, meat and eggs to jam, butter and countless other types of food. I really enjoyed the hot chocolate and the mini sausages. Overall we had a great experience at this hotel and will definitely stay at the same hotel when we visit Istanbul again.

    « Short vacation »

Excellent hotel and is perfectly located within the old town. Immediately opposite to Grand Bazar and just 10-15 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and other must visit attractions in Istanbul. We had an infant with us and the staff was kind enough to wash feeder bottles every time we requested them to do so. A baby cot was also provided free of cost along with other amenities. Breakfast is offered in rooftop restaurant which offers beautiful city views including the Blue Mosque.

« Excellent in all aspects »

in most of my visit to Istanbul this place is my choice, i believe their capital in the quality of people running the place; the marketing team, reception, security do an excellent job with high hospitality the place is great since my with adores the grand bazaar, near to fish market restaurants street (kumkapi) cleanness and service is excellent

    « we like it »

Very good place with polite personals, clean room and good access to tramva and shoppings. Very good range of breakfast. The location is very good. It has a fantastic view from the top of the hotel to sea. You will find everything near the hotel. I'd love to return if I could get it for cheaper in high season.

« Nice hotel, good breakfast, great location »

We were allowed to check-in slightly early, easily requested adapters to use existing phone chargers, room had safe, clothe hangers. Very good range of breakfast. Kids enjoyed swimming pool although had to buy swimming hats for 10 lira. Was ideal location for grand bazaar, walking to sulamaniya masjid, very close to beyazit tramstop. It was on the more expensive side of 4 star hotels but definitely worth it. wi-fi was a bit slow in our room. I'd love to return if I could get it for cheaper.

    « Very nice hotel »

Well i have to say that is a very good hotel. - the hotel location is great, 4 min to go to the grand bazar, 2 min from the tramway bayazit station, 10 min from blue mosque aya sofya, also the fish souk, you will find everything near the ho tel. - a very good service, a nice and a very kindly staff. - nice room, large very clean and a comfort bed. - a nice swimming pool (free use), a good restaurant with delicious food, a terrace with a fantastic view. - i was disappointed from the breakfast. In total it's an excellent hotel that i recommend.

« Nice hotel fantastic view »

Hi everyone! We spent 4 days in this hotel. The location is very good. It has a fantastic view from the top of the hotel. The stuff is helpful and polite, they speak english ( low level but enough ). Unfortunately they are not well organised. I booked a double and a twin room. 5 days before our vacation i called the hotel and i asked if we can have two double rooms? They found our reservation number with our names and they said no problem we can change! When we arrive we got a family room and they said i did not talk to anybody. From the second day we get 2 double rooms. ( also if they said i did not talk to anybody they must give us one twin and one double room but no family ( i know it is cheaper )) The same thing also with the sauna, which is extra. If you want to use it you have to pay 10 euros per person and you have to talk with someone on the 7.floor when you can find the wellnes part. There is a small recetion but nobody is there. I went down to the main reception and up 3 times to ask information. The room is clean and nice, also the bathroom. The only problem is that on the 5.floor there is too hot it is impossible to sleep, but with the air condition you can only heat, and the window you can only open 10cm. I called someone from the reception who came up and open the window totally. Last evening i informed about the riceptionists that we will check out early ( 6 o clock ) and if they can prepare our car. Next day before departure we were waiting for 35 min, they said they did not have the key, then they found it but they did not know where is the car. The breakfast is very delicious and there is a long buffet with full of different plates. Everybody can find what prefers. It s a pity that they close the english bar downstairs. They should cancel the fotos from the internet because it is not working.

    « Nice hotel »

We felt happy and comfortable during our stay. The Staff are friendly and the service is good. Location is perfect, it is close to beyazit tramway, grand bazar and to a lot of shops. Breakfast was nice, they serve it on the 6th floor where you get to have a gorgeous view of istanbul.

« Wow, Service, service, service. »

Located near so many attractions and only steps to excellent public transportation. The room was very good, clean, quiet and comfortable. The dining room located at the top of the hotel offered good and plentiful food, but the views of the Bosphorus Strait were excellent and allowed one to dream while eating as well as when sleeping. Perhaps the most outstanding aspect of the hotel was the attentive staff. They could not do enough to make the stay exceptional.

    « Family of four »

First impression from the front desk was that it seem ok, we booked 2 rooms with interconnecting rooms for the four of us - 2 kids 12 and 15. I booked through the hotel a shuttle service to personally collect the family from Ataturk airport 25Euro what a joke its not the hotel rather independent van drivers we waited ages to get into the vehicle nothing personal about this pickup service . First night The room was pretty ordinary and dated considering its a 4 star hotel, the walls cant be sound proofed as we could here the guys next door talking and laughing into the early hours of the morning so we complained. Breakfast is on the 6 floor (I think from memory) a large selection to choose from however the cold selection was more appealing than the cooked. The location is great, easy access by foot to all the sites you need to see in Istanbul. I booked the hotel on wotif looking at the pictures I liked the look of the restaurant and its views and the bar/pub, soooo disappointed that the bar/pub is closed and has been for 8 months and the restaurant is ridiculously expensive that we never ate there, though they depict in the advertising that its open. Second night, 6pm in our room we started hearing this loud music and thought you cant be serious......whats that. I went down stairs to the front desk and found out there was a private function in the Breakfast room on that evening, our room was directly underneath I asked what time the function was finishing and was told 12pm - I immediately requested a room change. The gentleman handling my complaint was professional and prompt in dealing with my frustration - we were transferred to the 3 rd floor in the Junior Suite.....the kids had to sleep together on couch that pulled out into a sofa bed and only one bathroom but the room was so much better and more modern, we stayed in this room for 2 nights. We were disappointed and expected more from this hotel for a 4 star hotel considering the money we paid. We were in Europe for 3 weeks and this was our least favourite of all hotels. I wouldn't recommend staying here and wont be in the future!

    « Good hotel but.... »

I ve been in Istanbul for the 6th time and the first time in this hotel. Located in Beyazit area near the Grand Bazar not far from sultanahmet but also Beyazit is a trading area very busy with vans loading goods so very crowded. The twin room I had was large enough for two persons, clean with free bottles of water every day and with a partially sea view. The buffet breakfast let this hotel a bit down by its repetitive items there s a large selection of cheeses, yogurts, cakes, fruits, vegetables and eggs but is the same type everyday if your there for 1 or 2 nights it's not a problem but to have the same thing for 6 days it's quite boring. The staff at the front desk are nice, helpful and speak English.

« Perfect hotel and staff. Lovely 5 days stay »

This was our first stay at this hotel on our family trip. Starting with the staff and room finishing off the location and facilities everything was on a very high level. The choice of food at breakfast is very big, everyone will find something for themselves. Terrace with super view on the last floor. I would recommend this hotel for everyone. Thank you very much for the front desk staff, porters, housekeeping as well as the manager from the contact with the guests (sorry but I don't remember name. I lost the business card) :))) Thank you very much.

« 12 days at this hotel gave us a good idea of what it is like to stay there »

Yes, the location of this hotel is good. The room was clean, though small for two people - the cleaning service was good for the first 3 days and all of a sudden there were problems-we had to ask for action because the room was not serviced. Quick action was taken by the staff responsible and the cleaning service then remained good until we left on the 14th. The service on the 7th floor deck is very slow and it takes ages for an order to arrive. The fact that screaming, shouting undisciplined children are allowed on the7th floor deck (with their parents! mind you) is unacceptable to guests. If such behaviour is acceptable in Middle Eastern cultures it is not appreciated by visitors from a different culture who tries to respect other people's space. Guests should be informed if wedding functions are taking place in the hotel. The English Bar advertised does not operate at all. The hotel shop is a joke- it does not exist at all- it is empty space and is used as a storeroom. Do not be mislead by the glitzy pictures of facilities offered at this hotel. What was most upsetting is that the hotel has staff (with an attitude) at reception hardly speak English or understand it at all - it is pathetic. It happens to be advertised as an international hotel. The breakfasts are predictable and very boring after a few days. All, I can say is: at least the aircon and the lifts worked. Warning: do not believe all you read in advertisements or make a decision according to pictures you see on the internet. I think the hotel industry in Istanbul (and elsewhere) is under pressure because the tourist numbers have decreased.

    « Very good location »

Excellent location for shopping trips, very nice rooftop bar, room was very clean and very comfortable, we really enjoy and we will definitely go back again, only few minutes away from all the facilities in Istanbul.

    « Love it!! »

Located in the historical part of Istanbul. Very close to shopping areas. Excellent customer Service. Room was clean and breakfast was provided with a variety of international food. 2 mins walking to train station. 10mins walking to Gran Bazaar. Beautiful view of the city from the hotel's terrace.

« A gem in the heart of thr old city »

This is really a great hotel for tourists coming to Istanbul. It is in the centre and equal distance from all major attractions. However it is not on the main road so there is minimal noise. The service is superb as well as the cleanliness. A great hotel with no complains from me.

« Very conveniently located, comfortable rooms and helpful staff »

I highly recommend this hotel. For what you are paying, it's great. The rooms are largish and comfortable. It would have been nice to have had some shelves in the cupboard, but that is a minor complaint. Great views from the deck at the top of the hotel. The breakfasts were typically continental, but more than enough of everything. In terms of location it's great. Literally 150 metres from the tram station, and only another 100 to the Grand Bazaar. Easy walking distance to Hagia Soohia, Topkapi, etc.

« Good location to quickly see the main sites of Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi »

My wife and I stayed with our 4 children in two adjoining rooms which worked well for us. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and I would rate the hotel 3.5 stars - but perfectly acceptable. The view for the top floor restaurant is fantastic and breakfast food had a good selection - though tending towards the tastes of the Arabic and Turkish guests, who represented the majority of the guests (which is as it should be). As we have children ranging in age from 2 to 10, the fact that we could walk to to the main tourist sights of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Cisterns (about a 1km walk) and the Topkapi Palace was about 1.4km. The hotel is very close to the tram, but we found it easier to walk. Certainly there are a lot more sights to see down hill from the hotel - with a fine collection of Christian churches. Close to the hotel are lots of shops and casual / quick food restaurants. Good location to quickly see the main sights.

« comfortable quiet and clean »

I have stayed at this hotel more than 20 times during the past 6 years as I visit the city for business 4 times a year. The stuff is very friendly and polite and they always try to satisfy us. The location is perfect as is is very near the tram station and also a walking distance to many siteseens and of course the Grand Bazar. I highly recomend it to all visitors.

    « Wonderful Experience / Excellent Staff »

This was my first time in Istanbul with family, we will comfortable like home at BW Plus The President Hotel, hotel staff were excellent and really helpful. Location was very nice, few mins walking to grand bajar & Beyazit tram station. Special thanks to Mr. Selami Taskin (front office manager) for his warm welcome, he greet our family as friends and provide us a great level of comfort during our stay, must say he is a wonderful person from heart. Restaurant staff was amazing and helpful, they prepare and provide food on request even after 10:30 AM (breakfast serving closing time) as our flight got delayed by 6 hours and we checked-in at early morning (3:00 AM), so we wake up very late in morning. Hotel roof top restaurant and area was just amazing............

« Breakfast and location are perfect »

A great hotel to stay, very nice location near to the tramway and the Bazar, walking distance from most of the attractions, beside a good market for shopping, also they offer a superior breakfast with a lot of varieties .

« They have to more polite to clients »

I and my gf had reservation before go there but when we got inside they really don't how to treat and talk with guest. One guy at reception was polite but I don't know where the other guy comes from he is totally rude. During we stay and fix up our ID control we went to room. Hotel is clean and comfortable but the service not the same

« Very nice location to visit many attractions »

it has great location to visit many attractions like grand bazar, sophia, blue mosque, Topkapi palace, galata bridge etc, and easy to take tram. about 40mins distance from the airport. used airport pick up and sending service with EUR 25 per each, good location with resonable rate.

« Great hotel in great location »

Just come back from 4 nights in Istanbul. From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were fantastic. They could answer all our questions and gave good recommendations as to where to eat or go. The hotel had everything you needed. The location is amazing also. Just a minutes walk from the main street and everything it has to offer. My only one issue would be that the walls where very thin. We were on the 4th floor opposite the lifts and could hear everything. I would however, without a doubt definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for making our stay in Istanbul a comfortable and relaxed one

« Highly recommend this Hotel »

Wow wow what an awesome location. This hotel offers its guest so much, firstly the President hotel is located walking distance to the Grand Bazaar, restaurants, corner Café, Blue Mosque and others. If you want to use the Tram which I recommend it's cheap and a great way to get around and it's only 2 min walk from the hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful mainly the front desk staff. When you in Istanbul it's all about the location that's what will make your stay there that much more special. As a regular traveller that looks for the total package I will say this hotel offers that and much much more. Also I must mention the views from the terrace when having breakfast is breath taking.

    « Poor experience »

The hotel is a short walk from the Beyazit tram station overall location is not that bad walking distance to all the sights and close to restaurants and other amenities. The hotel it self just sells because of the best western name the rooms are tired air conditioning was not functional despite several complaints it could not be rectified service is terrible to non existent at the restaurant and the breakfast buffet though huge variety the food quality is very poor. Overall poor experience!!!

« Great location, perfet buffet!!!!!!!! »

i visited with my boyfriend this hotel in october.. The morning buffet was huge.. everything was gretat, staff really helpfull and the hotel is close to everything. it does worth you to visit it! I didn;t have much time to go at the pool but it was really nice..

« Brilliant and close by to all places »

Stayed at best western plus from 12-04-2017 till 20-04-2017. Very nice hotel clean rooms and very helpful staff. Really liked the location just few mins walk from tram station at Grand bazar (bayzit) and if you want to walk to blue mosque and ayasofia it's only 10 min walk from the hotel a lively place with great food locations around the hotel. Hotel serves a buffet breakfast and the views from the hotel breakfast bar oversea the Bosphorus. Would definitely visit again.

« not good as before »

looks always as overbooked, profile of the customer have been changed. it is not nice any more. there is no hygiene in the breakfast hall any more, we are not happy for our last stay and it was really LAST STAY!!

« Hotel Review - Best Hotel in the area »

BEST WESTERN PLUS The President Hotel has a professional staff, the room service is quick, your room is clean and ready as "never used" before. The food is exceptional (the steak was well done), good chef, good service. The "The Terrace Restaurant" is offering you a very pleasant view and "a la carte" menu. The "The English Pub" is my favorite (the atmosphere is authentic). Close to museums, you don't need to look for a taxi. Airport shuttle is life saver :)

    « Great »

Very nice and beautiful hotel . This is my second visit to Istanbul and I chose this hotel aging. Very good reception and people. Quite clean hotel . Very close to tram station and to metro station . Near grand bazar and many good shops.

« Great location, Great hotel »

Our first visit to Turkey. As recommended by a friend we used public transport from the airport train service was excellent and the tram station is about 200 metres from the hotel. Upon arrival the service was friendly and very informative. The room was a good size but could have been a little bigger considering there were 3 of us, also due to the location of the room, near the Lifts (elevators! for US travellers) you basically heard anyone coming or going. not a major issue. Breakfast was excellent, a vast array of food available and if you did not see anything you liked all you had to do was ask. Perfect location to explore this great city I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

« They are one of the best by far! »

This hotel is excellent in every aspect. The service upon arrival was wonderful even though we arrived in the middle of the night Mr Ali Karagaac attended our neds as we were tired gave me a wonderful room with all the amenities. The beds with clean crisp sheets maticulously clean bathroom room service o the spot. The doormen helpful polite and cheerful helpful. The hotel itself was a real jewel it even had a machine to clean your shoes in front of tne elevators!...The breakfast was so amazing anything a d everything you could imagine was there what a spread!!!.. From croissant to an amazing selection of cheeses hot dishes yogurt and jams honey straight from a honeycone sausage boiled and scrambled eggs potatoes and vegetables beverages all you can imagine. Plus the chefs were hovering over their tables to see if anything was missing or out of..The waiters polite and helpful.... bravo!

« Best stay in Istanbul »

Great atmosphere, awesome room fabulous dining ideal location, I really liked there service and hospitality. Loved their breakfast, great health-club fine dining.Great value for money. I would highly recommend this hotel for business travelers.

« Very good hotel - very polite people »

I was driving all evening to arrive from Greece and I was very tired when I arrived early mortning. People in reception had the room ready as promised in advance and also suggested me to go for a breakfast before I get some rest.Overall, Its a very good hotel, with clean rooms, in the heart of the city with very polite and friendly staff. The breakfast has anything you want and the view from top is great. Will return again next May...

« Excellent location and good value »

The hotel is modern with comfortable rooms and very well equipped bathrooms. All toiletries are provided ( toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving foam...) as well as bathrobes! That's really great! Breakfast is quite rich in quantity but croissants and cereals are not really tasty nor look appetising. The reception staff are brilliant! We have been given a room that faced a wall so I went down and asked if we could have another room and we've been given a sea view room which I didn't ask for!!! So thumb down to Ms Asli Tetik, sales representative at the hotel who made me feel as a second class customer. That's actually my only complaint about the hotel. She lied to me twice. I emailed the hotel a few days before arrival asking whether we could have a sea view room as it says on their website that they were available upon request. She replied saying that they didn't have any sea view room at all. I replied that it says on their website that there were. She then wrote that they had à des but they were only suites but I had booked a room not a suite so I wouldn't have any! I did get a sea view room, not a suite Ms Tetik and I didn't have to ask for it at reception.

« One of the best hotels in the heart of the old city »

We stayed in Best Western Plus President Hotel in June 2016 and in September 2016. The location of the hotel is perfect: right in the center of many attractions! It is only a 5 minutes walk to Grand Bazaar! The tramp is only 3 minutes away from the hotel! The Exchange is behind the corner right in front of the tramp. The ATM is near the Exchange. The rooms are noise proof, clean and nice. Every room has a safe and i-Phone charger. The stuff is very polite and friendly! Concierges are awesome! They can answer most of your questions about Istanbul and its attractions. Please, do not speak very fast with the Turks! Do not forget that English is a foreign language for them! There is a storage room in the hotel. It is complimentary! The breakfast room is situated on the 6 floor. The view is amazing! The food is super tasty and always fresh! The medium size swimming pool is on the roof: warm, clean, and very bright! Do not forget to take pictures of Istanbul from the Sun Deck! The souvenir store in the lobby has excellent souvenirs. The owner speaks fluid English. He can help you to decide where to go and what to see if you could not decide, yet. This is my favorite hotel in Istanbul!

    « Amazing »

It is a very nice, comfortable, big, and welcoming hotel. It has amazing views of Istanbul in its roof top with a restaurant And food wifi connection. It's location is the best of the hotel. Very good located.

    « Affordable elegance »

The have it all! Great service clean and comfortable rooms Great breakfast with a killer view Good restaurant Pool Spa All very nicely offered. Just their inhouse shower gel and shampoo line is not that nice. Have your own;)

« terrible service by some staff »

Hotel location was good, unfortunately our room was not ready on arrival, we had booked interconnecting family room, they told us would have to take 2 rooms near each other! Had to get a friends husband to communicate to get our interconnecting room. Had to wait in lobby with small children, reception staff unhelpful, arrogant. However, staff at breakfast and in the terrace hotel helpful, friendly, polite and professional. Plus money taken from son's room.

    « Atrocious service »

We stayed in this hotel from 28 Aug onwards with my wife. It is four star property located in the heart of the city. The room service is atrocious. It took four reminders, two hours and a visit to reception to get the replenishment of milk and tea bags. Further at time of check out they failed to give me invoice and receipt for the full and final payment I made as the server was down. They had assured to send them through e-mail. I regret to write till today it has not reached me. It will be pertinent to mention here that I checked out of the hotel on 31/8/2016

« Great Location With Friendly and Good Staff. »

When I am in Istanbul , I have always stayed in this hotel because of the good location and great treatment I have received over the years. Everything that I wanted to see was within walking distance or could be reached by the inexpensive tram. The hotel even sold the tram tickets at a discounted price. I always felt safe staying here. From the front desk to the concierge service down to house keeping, I felt that they were tops. The restaurant offered good free breakfast. The waiters in the restaurant worked hard to please the guests. On my last stay, I had the privilege of meeting the General Manager, Mr. Atakan Altug. I had gotten baskets of fresh fruit, candies and Turkish Delight on my last two stays. The bell man told me that it was for a repeat stay. I was pleased. They have arranged for my airport pickup each time I stayed there. I will definitely be back.

    « Great hotel »

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It is very very clean. The staff was very polite and really helpful to everything we asked. Our room was very nice. There was free of charge gym and swiming pool (not very big) with great view in the 6-7th floor .It is in a centrall spotted area, so everything is near either by foot or tram. I would visit it again.

« Second Visit Will Be Back!! »

Second time to beautiful Istanbul and this fabulous hotel great location right next to Beyazit tram stop so easy for airport and to get anywhere else if walling not an option. All main sites - Sultanahmet, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc. less than ten mins. walk and hotel pool though small always quiet and good for a soak after a hot day sightseeing! Breakfast choice is vast and amazing sets you up for the day. Rooms clean and good air con also wifi. Staff busy but welcoming nice coffee shop and gift shop in reception. Wedding party above our room on last night no mention of this glad we didn't have children with us as went on well after midnight though after we called reception we were offered a change of room - maybe this should be mentioned upon check in not at midnight on our last night! Didn't put us off though as location and quality of this hotel will definitely bring us back next year for sure! Thanks again

    « A pleasant getaway »

It was the second time we have chose this location and I'm very happy for this. A very pleasant place, excellent location to stay in Istanbul for business and pleasure . Restaurant extremely pleasant, wonderful panorama, pleasant, clean rooms and helpful staff. We will be happy to come back someday

    « Excellent »

We have just returned from a short Istanbul city break and had the opportunity to stay at the President Hotel wonderful staff in all departments at the hotel .made our 4 days stay so comfortable and welcoming . Everyone from the doorman to the receptionist and catering staff in breakfast restaurant to room cleaning greeted us with a smile and happily provided us with information or assistance we required. We were all impressed by the polite courtesy of our Turk friends in general and at the hotel in particular. The room cleaning servicemen were readily available and obliging 24/7 Breakfast was good although could do a little better with tea/coffee serving machines Gym was adequate. Swimming pool was although small but its wave formation function made it unique to swim against the flow . website doesn't mention extra fee for usage of SPA facilities Rooms were modern and equipped with adequate facilities for a 4 star hotel The location is however 5 star as we could not have chosen a better location for grand bazaar shopping and 100s of restaurants, Blue mosque, Sofia , Topkapi all walking distance.Beyazit tram station 2 minutes walk..2 local mosques 1-3 minutes away For Bhosphorus tour,Take the tram to Eminonu 4 TL and 90 minutes cruise from there ,costs 12TL Airport shuttle was a little overpriced but worth it being comfortable and hassle free. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly to our friends and family

« Good stay but need improvement »

The hotel location is wonderful, 3 minutes walk to Beyazit Tram station, and 6 minutes walk to Grand Bazar. Reception/lobby area is good but chairs seats in loby seems old and should be replaced with new ones. Breakfast is good but also should be improved with more varieties. The view from 7th floor restaurant is wonderful and amazing. Standard rooms are old fashioned and should have nicer designs (eventhough we were said it's new room! ), all facilities were available (i.e. safebox, water katle, bathroom facilities). Swimming pool is very small. Note that most of hotel guests are Arabs.

    « wonderful hotel »

nice location, near the grand bazaar, you can go by foot to Suleyman Mosque, Hagia Sofia, tram station to other parts just a few meters away very clean, very good breakfast, polite and helpful staff wonderful view over the bosphorus and the old town from the roof-top terrace we really enjoyed our stay!

« Amazing views, convenient location but not very American(ized) »

I actually stayed in this hotel in June 2015. I was traveling by myself - seeking to follow my great desire to visit Istanbul. I wanted the hotel to be in walking distance to many of the attractions of the old town. I chose the hotel for its location, views and safety. I wanted to be in an all American hotel that offered good service and a staff that spoke English well and was accustomed to international travelers. I found the rooms to be on the small size, the pool tiny, the staff (mostly local) was not entirely friendly or patient and most spoke English rather poorly. The immediate area in which the hotel was located appeared to be in some kind of warehouse district and the little alleys/ streets were deserted after 8 pm and felt unsafe for a single female traveller. However, during the day I enjoyed being close to the Grand Bazaar (pretty much across from it) and other attractions in the old city. The views onto the Bosphorus from the hotel's roof top terrace were spectacular. All in all it was an ok hotel at a good price, which offered convenience and great views. However, it did not feel like the safest street and the staff was rather mediocre.

« Back to the hotel »

18 years ago I celebrated my honeymoon in this hotel. Now and again I visited this hotel again. I had a short coffee drink in the lobby. The hotel is still the same except the guard who used to stand near the entrance with a huge moustache is not there.

    « Rawan »

It's very nice hotel, The stuff are great and very helpful. The hotel rooms are very clean. The hotel is located in great place in istanbul close to grand pazar just 150m, and 2 station in tram to sultan ahmet and Aya Sofía. I recommend to groups of friends and families.

« Wonderful Hotel and Staff »

Best location, wonderful staff, breakfast, terrace restaurants, just close to metro station and sites. Close to shops and eat outs. Tours available at reception. Staff is extremely helpful in providing information. Highly recommended.

« Excellent Hotel with excellent service in an excellent location!!! »

Had a 4D/3N city break in Istanbul & my stay with BW The President Hotel made it even more enjoyable. Check in/out was efficient & fast & hotel even had facilitated my early check in @8:30 in the morning. Staff were courteous & friendly; bed was comfortable; concierge was very helpful & to top it off, The Terrace restaurant on the top not only provides a magnificent view of the Marmara Sea but likewise, provided excellent steak & grilled sea bass. Added plus is the excellent location which is a mere 350m or so distance to the Grand Bazaar; a short walk to Sultanahmet & Hagia Sofia; and accessibility to trams & train station.

« In the heart of the old city »

It's a very nice and clean hotel! The breakfast is delicious: you will be offered a variety of food. Take your time to enjoy a healthy meal without any hormones, antibiotics, GMO, MSG, and pesticides! During check in you will be offered complimentary Health Club coupons and Welcome Coctail. Your luggage will arrive to your room very fast. TAXI is always available near the hotel. TAXI from the International Airport to the hotel will be around $13-15. The restaurant in the hotel is on expensive side: 49 euros( buy one get one free). Good not expensive restaurants are everywhere in Istanbul! Ask concierges about anything, they will help you with a big pleasure. The Istanbul Museum Card is available at the front desk. Turks accept US dollars, Euros, and Turkish Liras.

« Great Hotel with excellent location »

Spent 5 nights at the hotel. Its located in the Sulatanehmet district, also called Fatih. Good clean rooms and bathrooms. Excellent staff, ready to help with all your questions. The hotel has a small gift shop too and the prices are comparable to any other shop in Istanbul. Very friendly shop owner , we browsed the shop a dozen times before we picked things up....he was always welcoming and smiling. Lovely place to stay, the blue mosque is a kilometer down the road, excellent places to eat around the hotel....a very activity filled area with shops near the hotel. Some people might be put off as the lane where the hotel is located has wholesale leather shops...but we didn't find it a bother even when at times they were loading and unl;oading trucks in the alley....great view of the bosphorus from the street and ofcourse the hotel roof top.

    « Nice hotel »

? think good hotel because in city Center and you can go to every place via walking, Sultanahmet square and Beyazit square also So close to this hotel you can try, if you need to go to Taksim square maybe not close to Taksim but if you found good price you can take one room

« very nice hotel, extremely friendly staff »

There are many, many hotels in Istanbul, but I would choose Best Western the President again for following reasons: extremely friendly staff, they really do everything to make their guests happy. Quiet and clean rooms, a breathtaking view from the roof terrace, a rich breakfast, free mineral water, coffee and tea in the room and a prefect location (close to the grand bazar, the blue mosque and the Hagia Sophia).

« Very central and clean Hotel. Stayed already twice there and will do so on our next trip again! »

We booked this Hotel already twice and are definitely going to stay there also on our next trip to Istanbul. The Hotel is very easy to reach via public transportation from the airport. Get right away the Istanbul Card for public transportation - will safe you money all along, since it's a big city! Check-in was very easy and the always smiling staff speaks very good english. The rooms are very clean and the rooms are just right for a city trip. The roof terrace with the view over the ocean and city is just wonderful, but especially for a nice cocktail to enjoy in the evening looking at the city lights. Breakfast offers everything you could ask for and got filled up continuesly.

« Fantastic hotel with great location »

Having been to Istanbul before and experienced very tiny rooms, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Great location with a short walk to Trams and The Grande Bazaar. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was great. The roof top terrace was fantastic and had great views of Istanbul. One of the few hotels to have a pool in it. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Istanbul. Good value for money.

« In the heart of the most visited spots »

Overall I would have rated it 5, if the the rooms were as big as they look in the pictures and if there was variety in the breakfast. Wide angle shots are unfair and don't give the correct impression. However, they are comfortable. The breakfast too was decent, but having the same spread for 5 days is not cool.

« fantastic breakfast, comfortable room, beatiful views »

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was big enough with a beautiful view. The Breakfast was big in variety, the service quick and efficient. A big bonus is the pool and the health club with view over Istanbul. We would use Best Western again. The only thing ( what did not bother us but might someone else): The Hotel is based in th old city what makes it very easy get to the main sights but sounds from the street do reach the room. But our good night sleep was never disturbed.

« clean and safe place »

I have been there with my family in March 2016, the place is close to the old part of the Istanbul, is clean and big. Nice hotel to stay with family. It is close to the bays and metro station and has lots of retailer shops around.

« Ideally Located Tourists Haven! »

The location is perfectly close to main attractions; Grand Bazaar hardly 3 mins walk, Metro station not more than 2 min on foot, and SultanAhmet barely 10 minutes walk away. Staff is alert to help you, breakfast is a good mix of Turkish & Continental food. Hotel is clean and rooms are reasonably spacious. The roof top restaurant offers good city view, while music playing as you eat makes it romantically nice. I suggest taking dinner at least once during your stay.

« Great location. Must stay hotel »

Fantastic location. Just few mins walk to tram station. All main tourist attraction are walking distance.lots restaurant nearby.sea view roof top restaurant. Good breakfast with variety of choice.Good size room and nice bathroom.will recommend to anyone.

« Great location and nice staff »

The location is awesome, right in the middle of grand bazaar. Blue mosque and hagiya sofiya are at walking distance. The hotel has nice breakfast so I will suggest to eat breakfast at hotel only. The rooms were a little small to my liking, but for the price, the rooms were great. A must stay if you are in Istanbul, especially because of the location.

    « Very good place »

We stayed in Istambul 4 days and were very satisfied with our choice of this hotel. The location was amazing, we easily reached on foot all landmarks in a historical part of a city. The Grand Bazar is just across the street! Service also deserves many compliments, staff was helpful and professional. Rooms were quite spacious, as well as bathroom was big and clean. Turkish breakfast exceeded all our expectations, very rich with a huge variety of different kind of meals. Very nice spa terrace, amazing view of a sea and city. All in all, it was a great experience and quite good value for money.

    « Comparable to a 5 satr hotel! »

Everything was great. During Iranian Nowrooz Holiday I and my friends stay five nights in this hotel. Breakfast was really great with a variety of foods. Room was clean. WiFi was fast and free. Staff was polite and helpful. During ours stay they hold Earth Night with free nuts, fruits and drink which make a good memory for us. Location is so much great. Almost all rooms have a view of Marmara Sea.

    « Very convenient location »

I enjoyed my stay in February 2016. The hotel is a five minute walk from Grand Bazaar and all other main sights are within walking distance as well, 10-15 minute walk to Topikapi Palace and Blue Mosque. Breakfast and restaurant are on the top floor with greats views over the bosporus. Free wifi is a good speed.

    « Could easily be a 5 star Hotel »

The hotel is in the best location, just a few mins walk to the tram. The Hotel staff were helpful but not at all pushy. They sold us a card that we could both use on the trams and ferry's this was very handy. Our room was beautiful and we had a beautiful view of the sea. The pub was cute. Breakfast was just missing bacon.

    « A small Family holiday »

I had the best time in this hotel. It's very close to everything. by foot you can see all the historical placessuch as Topcapi and Aya Sofia. it's very close to the Bazzar. the Tram is very close to it. All in all it's one of the best hotel in istanbul

    « Very nice Hotel! »

Good location close to the Gran Bazaar and close to the Tran Station the staff is nice and courteous ! Rooms comfortable and clean!! The beds are amazing! Definitively will stay again at this Hotel. If you can get the rate with the breakfast included is a great big deal! They have a good breakfast buffet !

    « Recommendation »

Good location, perfect staff and marvelous view from the terrace on the 7th floor . The pool and jakuzi is very good. Also you can use spa facilities. The hotel is in the hart of old city. You can visit the most popular monument by foot. Old bazar is only 100 meters

    « A great stay »

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for our 31 wedding anniverssary Location: great lication just 150m from beyazit tramway and grand bazzar. It is about ten min walking distance from topkapi, hagia sophia, sultan ahmet mosque and besilica cistern The person( Mr. Ali) who dealt with our check in was so nice . He gave us a good room with great view. The room was clean and it has good pillows The breakfast was great. First the breakfast room was one the 6 th flr with great view of Istanbul. The swimming pool in on the 7 th flr . The water is warm. I have only one issue. i was on the 5 th flr. And on the sixth flr there was a wedding. The music was so Loud . The music stopped at 12 midnight . I couldnt sleep before the music stopped.i think the hotel management has to find a solution cause it is a great hotel. I think next time i will stay in the same hotel.

« Great location, rooftop and spa! »

The hotel is located right in the middle of the old city. Grand Bazar is literally steps away from the hotel, and it's about 5-10 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. The hotel is on a quiet side street and we heard no noise from the otherwise bustling city in our room. The hotel itself is well kept and the staff are super friendly! There's a British pub in the lobby as well as an amazing rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the Blue Mosque. The pool is free. You pay 10 lira to use the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. You can also get a massage. All in all a great experience!

« Great Location, if your main aim is Grand Bazzar »

If you come to Istanbul and your main aim is to shopping, this is a great hotel to stay.Walk up 5 mins to the main road then cross the street and you already in the main gate of Grand Bazzar. Walk up to the same main road also you meet the Biyazit tram stop that can take you easily to another stops. The hotel location surrounded by shops like bags,, shoes.. Hotel room is pretty small, I took twin bed and I can barely move around the room and do my packing without bumping to my friend's bag and... hmm the TV monitor is also small. too small for the room. All staff are very nice, from the front office, the staff in the restaurant, cleaning service, even the man at the small souvenir shop downstairs. They all nice. Breakfast selections are good with a view that refreshing overlooking the city and also the strait. Getting airport transfer to/from hotel also easy. Hotel can arrange it for you. After the neighborhood shops close around 7, the area is really really creepy quiet. There's no cafe or restaurant in the hotel street. you have to walk to the main street and walk heading SultanAhmet area to find some crowds. The hotel have an awesome Sun deck / Terrace restaurant on the 7th floor. Great!

« Excellent Hotel and Friendly Staff »

Perfect place to stay, located at the heart of historical neighbourhood of Istanbul. Walking distance to the Big Bazar (Kapali Carsi), the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet), public transit, Marmara Sea and more. The staff are extra friendly, always smiling and very helpful The rooms are very clean The breakfast and dining are marvellous with nice halls, beautiful views and delicious food. We really enjoyed staying there.

    « Nice Place »

Very clean, modern rooms. Very much like a US hotel, a best western. The staff was very nice, the room cleaning was excellent and the breakfast was awesome. There was a lot to chose from and it was mostly traditional Turkish food to choose from, which was nice. The internet was really good. The best we had on our trip. We had some issues with our AC. They fixed it and it was nice, then it was not very cold after a day. Fortunately it was not too hot, but that was the only reason I did not give them 5 stars.

« Lovely hotel with great views »

Staff very friendly. Fantastic views from restaurant and level 7. Breakfast views equally spectacular. Family of 4 ate at restaurant for around $100 Aus. Quite cheap good value. Close to Grand Bazaar & tram station up the hill. Happy to stay again.

    « Perfect stay »

Location of the hotel is perfect for tourists. Tram line is very close to the hotel and it makes ever part of istanbul easy to reach. Lots of shopping and eating joints near the hotel. Enterance of Grand bazar is just opposite the road. But remember that shops in this part of istanbul close down by 8:00 pm. The hotel room is of average size but is well maintained and decorated. Best part of the stay was the breakfast. Very lavish spread. Lots and lots of variety. Beautiful views from the terrace of the hotel. Pool was also decent. Staff was also good. Overall enjoyed our stay.

« Great location. Superb staff and breakfast. »

Location is just right, walking distance from all the attractions. 2 minutes walk to Grand Bazar and less than 1minute to Beyazit tram stop! Staff very polite, attentive to your needs and helpful. Breakfast standard hot and cold plus Turkish desserts, selection of cheese and fresh honey dripping from the honeycomb. I had a room with a balcony overlooking flats and bosphorus.

    « Superb »

Hotel is really in centre of istanbul tourist main attraction ,it room ,cleanness , an breakfast is superb ,,even its close to tram station so u can visit whole city ,grand bazar, blue mosque is walkable distance , staff are polite an helpful

    « excellent »

We stayed in this hotel for four 7 nights in a triple room (double room with extra bed) and really liked it and found it to be a very good choice for value and service. The staffs were attentive and friendly. Fast check in and checkout. The hotel and room was very clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was great, really big selection of anything you might want, freshly squeezed orange juice was free, Beautiful sea view from dining room. Complimentary water, coffee and tea every day for each room, free Internet access was good. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern and many more sights. Close also to tram (5 min) and metro (15 min) stations. Also, if needed, there was always a taxi around to take you wherever you want to go. There is free pool and gym at hotel which we didn't use. Street behind the hotel is plenty of good restaurants and Berger king.

« Great location good hotel. »

Within walking distance to all key sites of the old town. Very close to M1 tram stop. Nice and clean hotel. Small room. Upgraded. Breakfast is just fabulous with amazing variety. The view from terrace and dinning room is excellent. Good value.

    « Great stay »

This review is long over due as I have stayed at this hotel a few times and last time was August 2015. I think this is a great hotel as I choose to stay here when I'm in Istanbul. It is very clean and rather spacious compared to other hotels in the area. Also, I really like the location as it is walking distance from many attractions, restaurants, shops, and transportation services. The staff is friendly and helpful e.g ordering taxis, giving directions, and giving info about tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet is excellent as there is a wide variety of food and it all taste great. I've only had 2 issues with my stays here: 1. The linen has a strong unpleasant odor but I believe this is just the smell of the water used for cleaning. 2. I have experienced staff walk into the room many times without notice. I understand if it is staff from room service, but many times I've seen some of the reception staff who I recognize, not in their work uniform, walking into guest rooms. I have also seen these staff members dining at breakfast and sometimes asking their coworkers to save them better tables while the customers got the other tables.

    « Very good experience »

excellent location, very good staff, room is clean, huge delicious breakfast, quite hotel. I have no issues with check in and check out. For sure I'll use the same hotel if I come back to Istanbul. I didn't use the restaurant, therefore I can't comment on that but the view from the seventh floor is wonderful.

« very good for who wants to visit sultahamamet »

Stuff is very kind, the hotel is clean and they have a very nice roof restaurant for breackfast and dinner, sure it is better in warm days where you can sit outside, swimming pol is very small, good for children if you ever mind to go to istanbul to stay swimming in hotel. There is a good international breakfast and the size of rooms is standard, unless you don't want to pay more than 300 dollars per night, hardly you would find a bigger room in a 4 stars hotel in the middle of attractions. you can decide to visit the main attractions by walking, gran bazar is few steps away from the hotel and blue mosque , santa sofia and the palace are in a range of 2 or 3 kilometres about but if you dont lke to walk train stop is150 metres from hotel. in the hotel you can find a nice irish pub, i would recommend this hotel to my best friend who wish to visit istanbul

« A bit of business but mainly tourist »

The Best Wetern Plus The President Hotel is very confortable. The staff are totally amenable and appear instantly when needed. The food is very good. My only problem is that the portions are too generous. Te health club is just pefect. It is ver ideally situated near the Grand Bazaar and several shops both wholesale and retail. It you were to visit in summer, the sea is a very short walki g distance. I also toured Cappadocia organized by Fez Travel. This company is very good and all their arrangement wereexcellent. Their tour guides and drivers were very professional and made sure that, despite terrible weather conditions, I reached and enjoyed every part of the tour. I had booked a hot air baloon excursion but this did not take place because of adverse weather conditions. I got my refund promptly without any red tape whatsoever. I highly recommend the Best Wester Plus and Fez Travel for anyone heading to Turkey. James Otieno, Nairobi

« Hotel was just accross the street from the grand bazaar,a must see for tourist,to absorb the rich experience of how the »

The hotel room was very clean. The front desk staff was very helpful, and answered all our questions patiently. The breakfast was excellent, and the views from the restaurant terrace were amazing. The location of the Hotel cant be beaten,as it was walking distance, from all major attractions, and, subway and tram stations. The neighborhood gave a feeling of safety, even if it was late at night.I highly recommend this hotel for any one considering visiting Istanbul.

    « Brilliant »

We spent New Year 2016 in Istanbul and had a wonderful time. The staff at this hotel were more than just helpful, they were exceptionally so.. We realised at the last minute we had made a mistake in timings and missed our flight and they just took over and found us a new one. Room service was excellent Internet service was excellent even the hairdresser was great. The rooms are small but clean with everything you need ( and we had just arrived from Las Vegas Caesars Palace). It's close to all the sights but quietly in a side street. I would return in a shot! Excellent service, food and good accommodation. For history and architecture lovers this is a great stay at center of old Istanbul. Short walk to all the magnificent historical sites. Very friendly locals. Clean and well maintained city.

    « Truly turkish delight »

It was truly best stay , considering it was snowing and as we were tvelling with our 11 months baby. We decided to stay back. The hotel staff is very cordial and cooperative. The room service and cleaning is excellent. The location of hotel is just mins away from famous Blue mosque. The view is excellent from terrace restro. The other facilities like health club, swimming pool etc are all very good. If you love having hearty breakfast, you won't be disappointed with their vast variety. In all it was very nice experience. Highly recommended

    « Great location »

It's a good hotel very close to the tram stop and 10-15 walking distance to Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque. The staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet is extremely good. Lots of options. The rooms are nice and clean. I only faced two issues. On day one there was a noisy family staying in the adjacent room. I felt the hotel could have done better sound proofing. When the door bell rang in that room I thought it rang in our room and went to answer. Lol. Luckily that family moved out before our last day and it's been peaceful. I guess the noise level also depends on the other guests. They were too loud. Second issue was the heating. On our second day it was pretty cold in Istanbul. So we turned on the heater. Although it was set at 27 degrees Celsius it never reached that high and still fell cold throughout the night. I think the insulation is not enough. Other than these two issues everything was great.

    « Superb Service , bad WiFi »

Exccellent location , near by major attractions over 10-15 minutes walking. Very professional staff . Rooms are OK , nothing fancy but functional . Excellent Breakfast buffet ( free ). Internet extremely slow... They have to improve in this matter.

« Excellent location and customer service »

We had an amazing time in Istanbul. The president hotel is a few blocks from the Grand bazaar and a 10 minute walk from the most important attractions at sultanhamet square. Great restaurants nearby. MUST try Karadeniz restaurant nearby for real authentic turkish food at non tourist prices.

« Loved every minute of our stay! »

Loved our stay! The staff worked extra hard to make us feel welcome and comfortable.. Would be staying there again if we ever return to Istanbul ! Have already referred my extended family :) Location is great being walking distance to the majority of the old town touristic highlights .. Easy walk to the nearest tram station connects you to the rest of the city . Truly miss our stay there !

« Central location, clean & excellent value for money »

Spent 3 nights. Excellent location in the Old City, 100m away from the Grand Bazaar. Very polite and helpful staff...all the time. The restaurant is perfect. An excellent value for money 4 star hotel. Many thanks to Sarak for guiding me to the sights and establishments to visit in such a short time.

    « a very pleasant stay »

I enjoyed this hotel. it is excellently placed in the heart of the old town, within walking distance from the most important sites, and barely 100 meters away from a tramline (which is excellent as well). the room was a perfect size for a single room, with lots of space, and a big comfortable bed. also spotlessly clean. breakfast is varied and ample and the view of the Sea of Marmara from the breakfast room is only exceeded by the breathtaking view from the terrace one floor above. the staff were courteous and helpful, and Sarak at the customer relations desk is a jewel.

« Nice hotel with a great staff »

The hotel was really nice, located at a few steps from the grand bazar, blue mosque and ayasofya. The food is good and the view from the terrace is amazing. The great value of this hotel is the staff. They were always kind and available for any sort of matter. A special greeting goes to the DJ who helped us to solve any technical problem in the meeting rooms we used during our staying at The President Hotel. I highly recommend this hotel both for business and tourism reasons.

« Hidden Surprise in the old town »

The Best Western Plus The President Hotel in Istanbul was a pleasant surprise for us. We were booked on a Gallipoli Tour and staying at The President Hotel. We did have certain expectations which were well exceeded during our 3 separate stays there. We had 2 nights before our tour, 1 night between the Gallipoli tour and a separately booked Cappadocia tour then 1 night again before flying out to London. We were greeted warmly at all times at the hotel, The check in staff were friendly and efficient, the foyer staff were always on hand to help with baggage, door opening, directions etc. Our rooms were well presented and had everything we needed, well maintained, clean etc. The buffet breakfasts were good with a very wide range of world foods. The bar was a welcome retreat after busy days out and about. The restaurant on the top floor was excellent, the views over the Bosphorous were spectacular. The hotel has a luggage storage facility as well which was great for us as we needed to travel light on the Cappadocia tour. The location of The Best Western Plus The President Hotel is perfect with a tram station at the top of the street, which is a great transport option to get around Istanbul and very cheap also. It's easy to use and convenient to get to the main attractions. The hotel is only a short 5 minute walk to the Grand Bazaar and there are many good restaurants nearby offering a wide range of cuisines and all reasonably priced.

« Great value...very good HVAC cool or warm you'll be fine! »

Staff was the best very good English for solo language dope like myself...very very best breakfast friendly very good breads and egges and stupendous view..if you need comfort and value you shall not be disappointed! John P., Boston, Mass

    « Fine hotel »

The room was well equipped and bed comfortable. The staff was service minded and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was not so good but OK. Did not like beeing desturbed while having breakfast by spa staff trying to sell treatments. Transfer airport VIP service was in a van with broken seat and very dirty. Would rather reccomend a taxi.

    « Great hotel »

Location, Location, Location. Great hotel within a walking distance of most of the tourist siesta you need to see and the tram stop for further travels. Extremely courteous staff, rooms seem small but cosy for two

« Well Maitained Downtown Hotel »

The approach to hotel is not very impressive. The road leading to the hotel is too crowded. At the time of Checkin at night, the cars were parked on both sides of the road and we had a difficult to approch. The check in process should have been still faster than what it was.But the front desk did their best. They are very polite. The lobby with Bar and coffee house is impressive.Security is wel maintained. The restaurant offers variety of cuisine.Staff again here are very cooperative.A very spacious restaurant.Size of the rooms is reasonably impressive looking at the many hotel rooms in Europe. One needs to realise carrying sitcases with size more than 26" will have a difficulty to store in the room. I found the service at all deparments is very good.--Room service/House keeping /Bell desk etc.The location of the hotel is closer all tourist places including Indian Restaurants.Tram station is walkable.Grand Bazzar is walkable .One can enjoy walking on the crowded roads nearer to hotel.Tourist Places such as The Church of St Sophia,Museum,Topkapi Palace The Blue Mosque,The Mosque of Sultanahmet are not very far from hotel.Parking is a very problem near the hotel. I recommend this hotel for those who want to be nearer to central location.

« Very good hotel in a central location »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus for 2 nights, had booked it via the internet and communicated with the hotel special requests upfront (which were all noted down and committed to). Our room was on the upper floors, it was spacious and well stocked with amenities. There was nothing really to complain or remark - everything in the room was working fine, we had free wifi which worked most of the time (when the hotel is fully booked and "everyone is on the internet" it doesn't work though). The room decor as well as the lobby could do with an uplift in terms of design. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with a nice view across the city and sea and tiny roof top pool as well. Fitness center isn't free so we decided not to use it. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to other travellers.

    « Excellent modern hotel »

An excellent modern hotel in an area close to most amenities. Very good service, excellent breakfast, impressive terrace with very good restaurant. Rooms are very nice but a bit on the small size. We travelled with an infant and everything was perfect.

    « Well worth a visit... »

We stayed for three nights. The initial reaction to the hotel lobby was 'OK' at best. The reception process was a little laboured however we did get checked in and ensured we had a room with a large bed. The rooms are again 'OK', certainly nothing special and, like the rest of the hotel, in need of a refurbishment. The staff are fabulous, very curious and helpful The bedroom had everything we needed, including a safe, smallish bathroom, desk, kettle, tv etc and possibly the most comfortable bed I've every slept in...seriously! There is an English pub downstairs which we say. If there is a sporting event on then there's a good chance it will be on one of the many tv's. The hotel is located in a great spot. At the top of the street (500 yards) is the Grand Bizarre and if you turn right and walk down the street you'll be greeted by 100s of restaurants and bars, the blue mosque and the Cistern to name but a few. If you turn left out of the hotel and walk down the steep street there are lots of fish restaurants...all very similar and not that great...good atmosphere though. There is a pool, not really big enough to swim in, and a terrace bar on the roof. Breakfast isn't the best. The room used looks like a function room, as do the tables and the food is great. No omelettes and a limited variety of hot food items. The fruit choice was limited as well. All in all, not the best but more than acceptable and in a great location. We enjoyed the fact that we could walk to everywhere we wanted to visit. Comfortable bed, good air conditioning, helpful staff and clean. Hope this helps

    « Central , convenient excellent service. »

Our stay at the President was made exceptionally easy and pleasant by an amiable and gracious host Selami Taskin front Office Manager. It is so rare to find such a personal, congenial host in a busy hotel in the heart of Sultan Ahmed. In the midst of the buzzing tourist quarter our host regaled us with wonderful conversations, in the breakfast room;in the reception area as he ensured our transfers and visits to other cities in Turkey were hassle free and welcomed us back like family when we returned to enjoy the amazing sights of Istanbul. The rooms are comfortable the views from the terrace breathtaking and the service staff great. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

    « short brake »

for the money this little hotel takes some beating. good position, clean rooms well staffed, The english pub bar was well stocked, but the staff were a little slow. The roof terrace was a pleasent place to have a night cap.

    « Great service »

I spent one night at the Best Western The President in Istanbul in October 2015. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. Sarak Einy stoud out in particular, helping me with a number of issues. I would go back to this hotel any time.

    « Super hotel »

Room is very clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. Very good wi-fi. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Close to Grand Bazaar and historical center. Terrace restaurant with amazing view and great food. We will definitely come back in this beautiful place!

« Great Hotel would definitely recommend that to family and friends ?? »

This is a great hotel. I can only advise everyone who is looking for a great 4 star Hotel in the middle of the city of Istanbul to stay at this Hotel. The location is awesome. It's a couple of 100 meters from the Grand Basar. The tram stop is even closer. And who is into praying will find a lot of mosques close by. It's only 2 stops with the tram to the blue mosque or around 1km walking distance. What we were also very happy about was the nice hotel staff. They really helped out with everything were always polite. The furniture seemed to be a little bit older, but are in good shape. The rooms are not very very special. But they were very clean and tidy. All over we had a great experience and I can recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a nice hotel in a great location for a good price. ??

« All round very good »

Pricing of room fair, location very practical, all sights within walking/tram/taxi distance, rooms & hotel clean, helpful and Knowledgeable staff, Thanks to Burak Altug & Sarak Einy for all their help.

    « Excellent location. Clean. »

Hotel staff were excellent and helpful. The hotel is located in a great area allowing you to walk many places. The rooms are not luxurious but are kept extremely clean. The buffet breakfast is great. Restaurants in the area are about a 10 minutes walk.

    « 100% for Location. »

In terms of PRICING, the dates that I was there (24th-28th October), the 4 star property was priced in the same range as 5 star properties within the same area (about 1km around the area) but we stayed there for convenience purposes to attend a conference. The LOCATION was excellent and centrally located at the Old City. It isn't located along the main road, instead, it's about 1 minute walk down the little alley but the Grand Bazaar is just across the road while the Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia was just about 15 minutes walk to from the hotel. The ROOM was of a decent size, the housekeeping was super efficient (our room was made up before 11am during our stay) and the reception & concierge teams were generally very helpful to help us navigate around the city. You can also arrange shuttle service to anywhere you wish in the city. The FOOD though was very limited. Their room service only had 4 choices of mains while their breakfast spread wasn't very reflective of the famous Turkish cuisine either - which was a shame, but it wasn't bad. The AIRPORT TRANSFER could be arranged at a 25 euro fees per car. They provide FREE high-speed wifi in the rooms and other areas in the hotel.

« helpfull and knowledgeable gueust relation »

I just want to thanks to ms Sarak. she helped us with a nice smile and spend her time to solve our problem. thank you so much again :) . and many thanks to hotel manager to make this trip good for us.

    « It is not $ stars »

? Room is tiny and there is very little space to put anything out or anything away. Need to live out of your luggage, which is fine for one or two nights, but not longer. ? Shower is hard to get in and out without danger. A shorter person might need assistance. What do you think when one of the first things you see is ?You should not drink the tap water.? ? Best Western tends to be mediocre and this place sure fits in. The lobby isn't bad but it goes down hill from there. ? To get from the hotel to the main street you have to walk up a steep hill for two blocks. It isn't fun. ? We tried to use their Business Center to print our boarding passes but several computers were not hooked up and the only printer was broken. ? We asked the front desk for advice on a restaurant and were told, ?Walk down two tram stops on the main street and you will find lots of places.? Hmm. Do you call that help? They have a desk with a sign on it ?guest relations? but we only saw a person at the desk once in four days. We did receive great help from one young man who was able to print our boarding passes. ? We also asked for assistance on a few issues and found the front desk people lacked an attitude that showed they wanted to help. ? We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening because it was raining hard outside. The prices were high and the meat was dry and overcooked. The view would be beautiful on a clear night but the view would be the best thing about the place. ? Breakfast buffet was large and has both hot and cold food. Cheeses were very salty, breads were bland and tasteless and there were minimal pastries. ? Saturday and Sunday nights they had a wedding-type event. Their room for events is on the 6th floor but we could hear the music on the 2nd floor where our room was. ? This place calls itself a ?4 star? but ?3 star? would be an appropriate rating and in some ways that is a stretch.

« Great loacation; nice accommodation »

We spent four days in Istanbul and we were pleased to get a nice room with a good size deck (room 538). Our first night we sat outside and listened to the call to prayer, which was quite the cultural experience. The hotel was clean and nicely updated and had both a nice restaurant on the 6th floor and decent bar on the ground floor. The breakfast was ample and varied But the true highlight was the location of the hotel...a short walk to the Grand Bazaar, the Bllue Mosque and.Hagia Sofia, plus nice restaurant district close by. Very interesting and safe neighborhood.

« Great location, pleasant hotel »

We stayed her for one night on 6th September prior to a 20 night cruise. We paid £89 B&B. It's a 75 TL yellow cab fare from the International airport. Don't be too concerned about the somewhat scruffy area of the hotel - this is central Istanbul, it's all a bit scruffy. The hotel is fine. As we arrived, a smart young man sprinted out to take our bags. We were checked in and in our room within a few minutes and our bags swiftly followed. Good service. The room is standard business style. Two single beds. Desk, chair & small table. TV, fridge with mini bar. All very clean and tidy. The bathroom was ok. Pleasant modern tiles. Over-bath shower. Nice towels. We had dinner at the lovely rooftop restaurant. Nice views across the Bosphorus. We had the set 4 course menu (a real bargain at TL158 for 2) it's buy one get one free. We had a nice bottle of red at TL110. There was an excellent guitar duo performing. Overall a fine atmosphere with slick service. Breakfast - a reasonable choice of hot and cold food. Nice coffee. Good service. Check out was a generous 12.00. The Grand Bazaar is a 2 min walk - up the slight hill and cross the main road. Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque etc is a 15 min walk - up the slight hill. At the main road turn right, then straight on to the main sites. Follow the tram line. It was a TL65 cab fare to the cruise terminal. Please beware of the 5 and 50 TL note scam. I gave the driver a 50, a 10 and a 5 TL notes (for the 65TL fare). After getting our bags out of the boot, he showed me the 10, but 2 x 5 notes - no 50!! He protested that we had not given him enough. The 5 and 50 are very similar. I shouted at him to get lost, which he swiftly did. Just take care. Overall, a good pre-cruise or city break hotel.

    « Great Hotel »

The wife & I stayed here for a week. Was a lovely hotel. We had a standard Room so it was abit small. However the superior rooms looked spacious, i would rather take those next time around. Hotel walls are thin and you may hear your neighbours. Very clean. Hotel staff were phenomenal, the guy by the name Buraak went out his way to ensure you know where to go and how to, you happy with your stay. Even the housekeeping staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nice and the view was amazing. Breakfast times were very accommodating. Location is great. Its a block away from Beyezit Tram stop and right near the Grand Bazaar. Area has a hubbub buzzing atmosphere. Hotel room views arent that Grand. Apart from this it was a worthy stay and i definately recommend anyone to stay. Thanks to the staff and management we had a good time.

« Great stay in Istanbul »

Good quality hotel in the heart of the old town area of Istanbul. Within easy walking distance to all tourist attractions. 3 min walk to one of the many entrance's to the Grand Bazaar and no more than a 20 min stroll to the Blue Mosque. There is a Tram station 2 mins from hotel were you can catch a tram down to the Bosphorus but again this is within walking distance from the hotel. There are plenty of local bars and resteraunts close by and the Hotel has a roof top terrace with resteraunt and bar. Resteraunt offers good quality food and competitive prices. Good quality service from helpful staff throughout hotel. Hotel will assist with private transfer to and from airport. Wouldn't think twice about returning to this hotel.

« Incredibly disappointing at the Worst Western »

As a seasoned solo traveller, I am accustomed to the odd disappointment and many delights whilst travelling alone. Unfortunately today I am disposed to tell fellow travellers about my experiences. Currently staying at the Best Western President Hotel in a "standard room". On a glance of the evacuation plan, my room is a triangular shaped room about 2/3 of the other smaller sized rooms and the only one on the floor of this size. The sheets are badly stained, with large yellow-brown splotches. Yep, that's what I'm thinking too. When I attempted to check in, the desk clerk ignored me, instead pointing to his already occupied colleague. Cigarette smoke is permeating through the ventilation system, making a mockery of the non smoking room. After such a wonderful experience on public transport, where so many travellers were so kind and thoughtful, this hotel is a real disappointment. Foolishly I have prepaid for this hotel. As a woman travelling solo, I was a sense of being relegated to the closet. My advice to other travellers is to avoid this hotel until they have lifted their game.

« BEST WESTERN PLUS The President Hotel »

All staff very friendly, signed in and got an hand shake.. Arrived late and it was raining so stayed in, nice "English Pub" beer and snacks, chicken sandwich like a full meal. Situated in the old part of the city, next day got the tram to topkapi palace and walked back visiting other sites of interest on route, so its close to the main tourist spots.

Good sized rooms and stunning views from the rooftop terrace. Excellent service and good value for money. There is a small swimming pool, which is welcome after a day walking around the city.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel and found it very comfortable. It is close to shops including souvenir shops but more importantly it is within a ten minute walk to the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. Really handy location and the staff were very accommodating.

« Great hotel within walking distance of all main attractions »

We stayed 4 nights and walked everywhere from hotel - blue mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and Grand Bazaar. Enjoyed afternoons on the sun terrace. Very nicely decorated, modern rooms with fridge and free, reliable wifi. Water provided free which was a nice touch as well as tea/coffee. Nice and close to evening restaurants - the Kampanki fish restaurant area. The hotel food and drink is a little pricey and beware the hotel quotes a menu in euros which we mistook for Turkish Lira so got rather a surprise when the bill arrived! The breakfast was wonderful - so much choice. We did have a few issues with reception - they are quite slow and made a few mistakes at check in but all in all it was great. A shopping tip - although Grand Bazaar is a must the roads and shops around the bazaar are actually cheaper. I think they pay less rent and therefore you can get better prices!

« Nice location and very good breakfast »

the hotel situated in very good location of Sultant Ahmat and close to many restaurants and grand bazar. Also the service in the hotel is good and breakfast is very good with many variety . the rooms are comfortable with good value of money .

    « Very nice hotel! »

The hotel is very good: clean, excellent free wi-fi, breakfast buffet with a good selection of choices! Moreover, is located very close to the Grand Bazaar! The service staff is very friendly although not everybody speaks English. The street is on a heel, so it is not recommended for people with walking disabilities.

« Well located, good rooms »

I stayed here for a work meeting. My room was on the second floor - it was a corner room overlooking the inner courtyard so it was quite dark, and there wasn't much lighting in the room. However, the bed was comfy, the room was spacious, the bathroom was clean. I could hear the plumbing from other rooms though. The breakfast buffet is quite nice, though the room, despite the nice views, is rather soulless - makes me think of a Soviet style restaurant! There is a nice roof terrace. The indoor swimming pool is tiny, more like a jacuzzi, and smelt so strongly of chlorine that I was not tempted to go for a dip. The hotel is in a great location, just 10-15 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, 3 minutes to the Grand Bazaar, lots of restaurants nearby and near the tram. In conclusion, it's what you'd expect from an international chain hotel.

« perfect location; very clean & modern »

I had booked on Air Miles points and stayed for 3 nights. This was the perfect hotel. Took the metro from Ataturk airport (1 transfer) and was 2 blocks away. It is very friendly staff; welcoming all the time. Small room (301) but big enough for me. Good wifi. Clean and comfy bed. Large enough washroom with amenities. The rooftop restaurant overlooking the water was super at the end of the day. Drinks and food great and not expensive. wait staff are friendly. Would definitely recommend. Walking distance to Grand Bazaar, lots of shops, Blue Mosque, Eminonu.....
