« One of the worst experience »

Although I reviewed this hotel in 2016 but now I'm taking my words back. I had a worst experience of staying in this hotel last week. The corridors are dirty and smelly. The rooms are also having bad smell and services. The rooms and corridors are having worst seepage and fungus on the walls and roofs. Breakfast is complementary but very bad. Restaurant is very pathetic. I have not consumed anything from mini bar but they changed me to which I condemned and not paid a single penny. The hotel administration says that Hotel is under renovation but the old rooms could have maintained. In short strongly not recommended.

« Comfortable, Great Location, Economical »

I stayed for a night in Best Western Islamabad in September 2017 with my family. The room was large, comfortable and good for a family stay. Breakfast was good and had plenty of choices to chose from. Location is great of this hotel, especially for people who wants to stay near to the mountains and have plans to go further up to Murree and other areas in the mountains.

« Old hotel but good service levels »

The hotel is located on muree road near Islamabad club, rawal choke and ramada hotel on the muree road. It's about 10-15 minutes drive to blue area (depending upon traffic). There are no amenities, shops, restaurants in walking distance and you need a car / uber / careem to get along. It is suited to travellers who wish to stay in Islamabad and explore the dirty for a few days and not suited for overnight or transit passengers as it's quite a drive from the airport about 30-45 minutes. The hotel is quite old but the staff try to work hard to fill that gap. The prices are not very high and you get what you paid for. I would recommend it to people on a budget. Good breakfast! And complimentary airport drop off service were highly appreciated!

« Most Pathetic place to stay »

My wife stayed in thus hotel and had a terrible experience. The air conditioning system was broken and the hotel management did not pay any heed. The food was worse. The left over dinner was served in breakfast. I reported the matter to BW headquarters in USA, who enquired from the hotel management in Islamabad but didn't get any response from them..

« Poor Services - Careless Staff both at Front Office and for other services »

We checked-in 4 rooms 233, 234, 235 and 246. My immediate supervisor is fond of "Bed Tea". I told him that this hotel provides complementary bed tea. He put the notice card outside room and also informed at the reception. But dears NO TEA was served at all. Secondly bathrooms are like pigeonhole. Only small size person around 5 ft only can take shower and stretch their hands and legs.

« A Community Center, Not a Hotel for Business »

To begin with, I write this from a business traveler perspective. I am not from Pakistan, but I have stayed in hotels in over 25 cities around the world, and I am not overly critical. However, this hotel was really not good ? They lied. The Expedia description says: ?Hotel Features: Along with an outdoor pool, this hotel has a bar/lounge and coffee/tea in a common area. A manager's reception is free. ? It does not have a pool. ? In 4 days, I never found a bar or the ?manager's reception?. ? The Internet barely exists. It is either off, or slow. ? My Pakistani colleague described it as a ?Community Hotel.? That's probably right, in that they have a lot of special events, business groups, and students running around?and my room seemed to be in the middle of a number of rooms used for non-sleeping purposes like meetings and interviews. ? Kids spent the night sleeping in the lounge, and it was common for them to be eating in the hall outside my room. ? The room was drab?just kind of worn out. ? My room smelled overwhelmingly of smelled of stale smoke. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but when they cleaned they sprayed a cheap air freshener for a second, then moved on. Pretty nasty. ? No one eats at the restaurant?I did twice and regretted it. The food is so greasy your cholesterol level will spike. ? There is major construction going on?it's noisy, but the least annoying thing about the place. ? I couldn't wait to get out of there. I was unable to work much, and not able to sleep much either?there were little kids running outside my door until 2:30. All in all, it's a lousy hotel?..but a good community center.

« Fraudulent billing. Rude staff. Avoid at all costs. Not like Best Westerns in USA »

I decided to try out Best Western in Islamabad instead of my usual Marriott and Serena based on my experience of staying at Best Westerns in USA and Canada, and boy it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is also actively committing blatant fraud of which the Corporate office of Best Western should take notice. I had a confirmed reservation # 163362772 from the Best Western site for $99.75 TOTAL for the night of 20th December 2016. However when I reached the hotel the front desk manager Adnan claimed that that room was not available and he can but me up in a more expensive room at roughly $150 (not including taxes). I insisted that since I had a confirmed reservation from Best Western itself they were obliged to put me up for that rate that I reserved. Adnan held me hostage by saying that either I take that room for higher rate or there is no room; he also promised to do something about it the next morning. Later on the same Adnan embarrassed me and my guest by refusing the guest to go to my room for tea unless he could get a copy of the guest's ID card. I told Adnan that the guest was only coming for tea and not staying with me but he refused even for the guest to go to my room for 5 minutes. Adnana insisted it was a new law, which is a lie. It was only after a lot of heated exchange that he said "if the guest is not staying overnight then it's OK". I was planning to stay for 3 nights but decided to check out the very next day. At the checkout next day I insisted that Adnan adjust the rate to my confiremd rate but even after talking to, what Adnan claimed was, owner (Shafqat or something) they did not. In fact the bill had an extra PKR 3,000 which they could not explain. At first Adnan claimed that the extra amount was taxes, but the taxes were already included in the bill so they had to take it off. I will be sending a demand to the Best Western corporate in USA to be refunded the extra amount they charged me illegally. Bottom line: stay away from this hotel and if you do make sure you check the bill.

« A reasonable option if you can't afford Serena, PC and Ramada etc »

Ideal place for business meetings, short stays at a good silent area. The hotel has nice rooms, free Wifi, TVs etc. Food quality is not that good as you observe in Ramada etc. The hotel has good pick and drop facilities to airport. One of the cons of the hotel is that it is very hard to find taxis near the hotel.

« Good safe enjoyable stay - good option when guesthouses closing »

The Best Western is in a safe area and is not the same high profile as other western hotels. The hotel provides good airport service - pickup and drop off, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the dining area provided good meals and variety, and the location is on a major transport route. At a time when many guesthouses are being closed this is a great option. It was reasonable in price however it is undergoing major renovations and will increase in costs in the future.

« Good hotel in islamabad »

I stayed with family for 4 nights at this facility. Location was good with all areas very near like embassies parks and islamabad museums. Hotel is having newly refurbished rooms with tea make facility led TV and fridge. Washrooms were bit small but all place was clean and toiletries were regularly changed. Room service was good and prompt. We were given extra mattress and when ever I asked for room make up the service was prompt. Staff was very courteous and mostly smiling. Breakfast was having all al basics if not very lavish. Prices were quite reasonable as well

« Old fashion and average food »

I was here for a business meeting, but I have seen better hotels in Islamabad and I have definitely eaten better food. The meeting room was old fashion and the entire hotel needs a serious freshen-up.

    « A Practical and Reasonable Choice »

Best Western in Islamabad is a practical and reasonable choice for your hotel stay. It is close to the airport as well as other key places in the city. Staff are all very friendly, breakfast is good, rooms are comfortable and clean, WiFi works well. We have stayed in this hotel a few times, and our experiences have been consistently positive.

« Hotel need renovation, but at least repair the bathrooms. »

Hotel need renovation, but at least repair the bathrooms. Reception staff is so lazy or they don't know what to do!!! 5 people were handling my booking <<LoL>> and still at the end they don't know that I booked 2 rooms. Always check how are they charging on your credit card, they use manual way for currency conversion.

    « Amazing. »

This Hotel is indeed wonderful, so relaxing and just so charming. The staff working here are all indeed very friendly and always welcoming you with a warm smile, very professional people as well and indeed very service minded. The rooms are so comfortable and amazing as well.

    « Average but ok »

Next to the very expensive hotels in Islamabad is this a good alternative. But please do know that the difference is more than 1*. Overall a decent 3*. The gym and the breakfast are below expectations. Lack of fruit etc.

    « Perfect stay »

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night. It is very safe and peaceful. The staff are always very attentive and helped me in all my enquiries. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and is located in one of the best places in Islamabad. Special thanks to the management team.

    « Awesome place »

Very helpful staff, good facilities, affordable price. I stayed here for 2 days and overall experience was very good. The dinning area is also well maintained with good food. Little aged but that's not a problem as it is very well maintained.

« Good hotel in medium budget. »

I have now stayed twice in this hotel and each time the experience was similar. This hotel is a good value for the money you pay (around 8,000 PKR for single room) and the staff seems eager to make your stay comfortable. The room cleanliness is good, and the food is good and priced reasonably (I've stayed in other hotels in the same area and can tell from experience that its prices are a lot better than most others). There was one problem that I experienced both time was that the shower head in the washroom was malfunctioning and water was not coming out properly. Other than this glitch and the fact that some of the staff at the counter appears to be not well groomed, I did not encounter any problems in this hotel. Whenever I'm traveling solo on my own money, I select this hotel for its amazing value for money.

« Ageing hotel, staff always trying to help »

While the AC was noisy, it was very effective and made my hotel room very comfortable in august when the temperature and humidity were so high. The room I was in was large, and was probably very comfortable and luxurious 20 years ago. It seems like some aspects are repaired rather than replaced, or just left, such as a bath rail which had a part that kept coming off, and a toilet with a leak. The food was very good, with a large choice of local and not so local food (stick with local). The staff were usually anxious to please. The hotel is apparently known for hosting weddings, and we saw a few while we were there. The security included cars checked on arrival, handbags checked before entering, a metal detector, and razed wire around the edges of the grounds, as well as security staff on the grounds managed by a courtious security manager who will kindly and politely ascertain your business in Islamabad

« Cozy but aging place in Islamabad »

Went for the first time for business trip to Islamabad. It's quite an experience. There is security everywhere and cars are checked thoroughly before entering the hotel (there's also warning sign not to bring weapons inside the hotel LOL). It really looks like a hotel in the USA (the older ones at least). We arrived late at night and the food basket really helped. The air conditioner was noisy and although I slept like a baby the first night (too tired after a long flight), it wasn't so the second night. Upon closer inspection, it seems the hotel is aging - things were coming off in the bathroom (look at picture). I like the hotel for its location in Islamabad and it was not a problem getting to our location as well as to sites such as the Faisal mosque and Monal restaurant on Margalla hills. The best part of this hotel was the breakfast - extremely delicious, be it Pakistani or Western food. Best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel (beats Anantara in Thailand!) despite the limited spread. Service was so-so. They didn't pick up my colleague's baggage during check out and wanted to charge us although our host agreed to settle the bill. Hmmmmm....

    « Avoid this hotel »

This place is absolutely terrible, run down and hence over priced. For same room rate you can stay at the Avari hotels which are 100% better than this. Staff try their best but foyer, rooms, gym etc are from another era. Very little English spoken which is big hurdle. Book Marriott if you can afford it, very nice hotel or else Avari.

    « As predicted »

Not the best place, but considering Pakistan as a whole we were fortunate to be eating at the British consulate in Islamabad so we didn't suffer too much, but we did feast out on the room service burgers late at night delicious and safe, to be fair the staff done a great job tending too us, but remember your bottled water, not a bad stay for a week clean reasonably comfortable and then it was reasonably safe for Brits I probably wouldn't go there now though but a well presented effort considering

Stayed for one night in the summer. The price-quality relation is exaggerated, the facility offered could easily be that of a 2-3 star hotel. One good point was the food, every item ordered was delicious.
