"Kingsmills Hotel Group do it again!"
raymond p, 19 Avril 2024

Another fantastic experience in Inverness. Effortless service and style in the Kingsmills Hotel. Staff are there when you need them, before you ask. This is a special skill/quality that is not always present in hospitality. All staff excellent, but a special mention to Craig Ewan, every hotel needs a Craig!

"Fabulous hotel, disappointing breakfasts!"
Exploration717938, 16 Avril 2024

Stayed here many times over the past few years and the hotel is fabulous. We've noticed though that certain facilities, small items really, like no dressing gowns, no slippers, no information packs and other minor touches are now missing. Not good for a 4 star hotel. Biggest issue we have with the hotel is the breakfast, buffet and not so cheap. The food consistently over the years is warm at best and often dried out from sitting under lights for ages. OK if you go continental, cold, but hot breakfasts are not hot!

"Well worth a stay"
Ros R, 15 Avril 2024

Lovely hotel in beautiful setting but close to city centre. The staff can't do enough for guests. Breakfast is excellent and other food offerings are good too. It is our first choice of hotel in Inverness when visiting family and we will be back.

"Hotel as expected, with 4 star amenities and tasty breakfast"
RT1971W, 13 Avril 2024

Very spacious room with safe, tea and coffee, huge beds and plenty of storage space. Breakfast range was good. Sauna, steam room were a bit disappointing as very busy with families and age restrictions on these facilities not being observed or enforced. Behaviour of children in the pool not being policed either meaning pool was not very relaxing.

"Family time.."
mairikeane, 13 Avril 2024

Amazing from beginning to end. Met with a lovely friend well mannered reception staff. The hotel was clean from the rooms to the swimming pool. Breakfast was well organised from beginning to end. Our only criticism was our daughters window faced the bins…..

"Inverness NC500 base"
Kevin D, 11 Avril 2024

Our stay was planned as the start of the NC500. Stayed for 3 nights in total. The staff are extremely helpful and offer assistance whenever needed. Food was a little pricy but this is a high end hotel so expected. Rooms are very comfortable and warm. Made our trip a lot easier.

"Overcooked salmon"
Mike S, 05 Avril 2024

My wife and I went for lunch here on the strength of good reviews. Unfortunately the food was disappointing : overcooked salmon and chicken ,undercooked beans and potatoes that were barely warm. If that was an example of the chef's skill, I could do better.

"Beautiful stay"
Stay22108003633, 05 Avril 2024

We stayed there recently with group of friends. We felt very welcomed on our arrival. Kingsmill hotel is very busy( which is always good sign). The food is excellent . Staff very friendly and efficient I would definitely recommend this place .

"Superb Hotel"
H1927, 05 Avril 2024

Excellent visit from the moment we arrived till the time we left .Our room was so welcoming and cosy and spotless ,the staff cannot do enough for you and are so pleasant .The food was delicious .We will be back later in the year for another visit .

"Afternoon tea"
bubbs2018, 03 Avril 2024

This is the second time we have been for afternoon tea, the staff were so helpful and accommodating, The service and atmosphere were really good. It said on the menu that there was scones with jam and cream. To be fair it didn't say “clotted cream” so we took our own, as we always associate afternoon tea with scones/jam and clotted cream. Although the cakes were nice it would have been even nicer if there was some variation in the cake selection to have a wow factor. We look forward to our next afternoon tea at the Kingsmills and hope there would be a different selection of sandwiches and cakes.

"Terrific hotel break with super friendly staff"
johnalexanders282, 03 Avril 2024

Lovely welcome on arrival at hotel and delighted with our room in the annexe. Veranda with table and chairs overlooking the golf course where we sat one morning. Dined in lounge bar on first evening - very good and waiting staff friendly and attentive. Pool smaller than expected as were changing room and showers. Location great for us - away from city centre but easy to access. Overall great hotel and all staff exceptional.

"Fab hotel and stay"
Richard G, 28 Mars 2024

Great hotel, staff very welcoming and pleasant. Rooms very spacious, clean, comfortable and bathroom was brilliant. Priced very reasonable. The pool area was great and has a small gym area which is well equiped. Lockers in pool area aren't the best as mdf which doesn't go with water and we didn't have change but only gripe. Breakfast buffet was spot on, restaurant at night wasn't best for kids but looked good and bar was a little overpriced but did the job. Location is great and would certainly return.

"Perfection"
Gclove, 15 Mars 2024

Looking at some of the previous reviews I think we were staying in a different hotel! We stopped off to break our journey from Benbecula to our home in Glasgow. Everything was perfect, from check-in to check out. Our room (in The Kingsclub) was very spacious and immaculately clean. We booked for dinner in the hotel (which was very busy for a Thursday evening in March) which was a good sign. Dinner was amazing and excellent value, lots of staff who were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. We were told we could go to the main hotel for breakfast or eat in the Kingsclub). We initially thought the main hotel would be better but were amazed at the choice when we came downstairs so decided to have breakfast there instead. The fruit salad was great (our favourite watermelon in abundance), plenty of hot choices and also a menu where you can order freshly cooked hot food. My husband had Eggs Benedict and he loved it. Absolutely no complaints, in fact we would both highly recommend The Kingsmills Hotel and look forward to a return visit. Praise should be given to all the staff and in particular the Chef and his/her team.

"Lovely stay"
Joy T, 15 Mars 2024

This is a lovely hotel, situated a short distance from the town centre. The staff are outstanding & can't do enough to help their guests. We had a Kingsize room, which was modern & very clean. Breakfast is a buffet style with loads of choice, both hot & cold. Dinner in the evenings was very good. My only quibble is that the menu stays the same every night. We were only there a few nights, so could ring the changes. If you plan in being in the lounge area for any time take a jumper/ cardigan as it can get chilly.

"A few errors"
bigpoppapump82, 15 Mars 2024

We did enjoy the stay and the room was fine and breakfast was excellent. However this is why it lost marks: We arrived to the manager giving the receptionist a public telling off. Which was a bit awkward. We then asked to check in. We were told no we were in the Kingsclub?? Walked over to separate building which has none of charm of the Kingsmill. Where you eat breakfast in the middle of the reception room and no bar. When I explained I had booked a pre paid for a specific type room in the main hotel, I was told it was booked. Not sure how that is possible given I had prepaid and booked! Whilst the room was modern and nice, the patio is facing a public pathway and main road. Not what we ordered and felt no privacy and Unable to enjoy the garden we paid for. Also the recommendation of crossing the car park in the complimentary dressing gowns to go to the pool was not appealing and therefore I felt unable to use those facilities. Had dinner in the restaurant, the staff work very hard, but understaffed. We waited a while to order, but food was good.

"First visit to the lovely Kingsmill Hotel"
Tricia C, 13 Mars 2024

This was our first time at this hotel and will definitely not be our last. From the moment you arrive you are felt welcome and the staff are excellent. Our room which was in the hotel building was lovely and very clean. Bed was very comfy. We ate in the whiskey lounge one night and in the conservatory the next. Both meals were well cooked and really enjoyable. Breakfast was superb with plenty of hot and cold choices. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return later in the year.

"A short break to relax with luxury "
Kay P, 13 Mars 2024

Had a fantastic break in a garden room .had lovely choice of breakfast including tea.coffee, toast ceriels pastries and a hot breakfast in morning and went to the steam room.sauna and chacusi and caught some local hand made jewlery from reception

"Lovely hotel"
Holidaymaker0012, 29 Février 2024

Lovely atmosphere in the hotel, nice large room which was spotlessly clean with lovely en suite bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Excellent buffet breakfast, wide choice and hot food was hot. Really lovely and professional staff. Will definitely stay again.

"Friendly staff, great hotel"
Chris H, 29 Février 2024

Lovely hotel. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. Rooms were clean and big. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant. Whilst the hotel is dog friendly there are areas they're not permitted and it would help if they were allowed in the bar at least. All in all a great stay.

"Excellent hotel well worth a visit."
819marjorieh, 28 Février 2024

Your staff are such an asset. All staff in every department are so kind, courageous, and friendly. My husband is disabled and they all offered to help when necessary. We stayed in a luxury room and everything was great. We had breakfast twice each morning food excellent good choices. We also had dinner one night in the restaurant and another night in the lounge bar both excellent. We also had sandwiches one lunch time. Hotel is lovely and I suitable for everyone.

"Agree “trading on past reputation”"
zoem900, 27 Février 2024

I used to always stay here enroute to home further north (as a treat.) Will be last time. As per previous review it is tired. And seems without customer care. I was allocated an accessible room with shower seat & raised wc emergency pull cords.I had not requested! I was expecting an en-suite with bath asked to be moved in arrival-nothing was available apparently!

"Fit for a King and his Queen"
HPvisits, 26 Février 2024

Lovely hotel, relaxing environment, polite and friendly staff all around. Spacious room, had our dog stay with us and the patio room with outside access was ideal. Had dinner in Whisky bar lounge, service and food was good, breakfast was also tasty. We made use of the leisure facilities, were as you would expect and a pleasant experience… Overall had a very enjoyable stay, value for money and would stay again. Thank you

"Excelente value for money and amazing staff"
Claucio_MRQ, 21 Février 2024

Very comfortable room (spacious and well kept) and excelent restaurant in house. The staff is very friendly and the spa is definitely a plus. There is a big parking at the hotel and there are also plug for EV. The location is not so close to downtown but it is known before booking so this is not a minus. I strongly recommend it.

"Average and Not For Couples"
Suraya M, 19 Février 2024

We stayed for 2 nights in the Luxury King Room (406). Our room had an adjoining door to the next room which was made of very thin material. There was a toddler in the next room which meant that for both mornings we were woken up by either a crying toddler or loud videos playing from the said room around 5am and 6am. The rooms around us also had small children which made the hallway noisy. I am surprised that we (a couple) were placed in between all the families with small children and toddlers especially since the hotel is big. The room itself is beautifully decorated and recently refurbished. The amenities were okay and for a luxury room there were no slippers and bathrobes but of course this was not a big deal. The hotel itself is at an amazing location if you have a car to drive around as it's close to all attractions. If not, you would have to walk to the city centre (about 30 mins walk) or get a taxi. The pool was a nice bonus but the changing rooms were very poorly maintained and floor was dirty and wet + muddy. There was no life guard on duty when we went (Sunday afternoon) - the pool was shallow for adults but might be something to note for children. Breakfast was very poor for a 4 star hotel. We only added on our breakfast on the day of check out and found out that the chef for the morning just returned from his day off and personally I think it was reflected on the state of the food. Hot dishes were either overcooked or poorly made such as the mushrooms, scrambled eggs, and sausages. We paid £35 for two people and it was definitely not worth it. The staffs were great and friendly. Check in was easy and quick even during peak hours. House keeping was also excellent by Oksana. The lounge might benefit from an expansion since it's heavily used and always busy even in February. Parking is relatively easy but still busy which might be problematic in the warmer months as there will be more people. Overall, as a couple, the stay was average for us due to the reasons above which hopefully can be noted of.

"Great Stay in the Highlands"
GordonS77, 17 Février 2024

Enjoyed a short stay at this super dog-friendly hotel in Inverness. Very comfortable room. Staff really helpful and friendly and made a great fuss over our labrador, Hazel. (At one stage, reception was actually manned by a German Shepherd called Ellington!) Nice place to stay, close to the centre of Inverness. Only minor issue was difficulty getting a space in the car park. Lots of cars cruising round looking for spaces and most overflow areas were dead ends requiring synchronised turning to get in and out with the other cars also looking for a space. Might be worth having some staff in the car park to direct guests to available spaces.

"We will be back !"
iankath, 16 Février 2024

My husband and I had a lovely garden room with our dog with great facilities . Our family shared a room in the hotel, which was just ideal for them with bunks for the kids. The staff were incredibly welcoming and great with kids and dog. Facilities were excellent and all of us felt it was great value for B&B. They kindly set up a table in the lounge area so we could eat from the less formal menu and have the dog with us. Our waiting staff were so attentive and friendly . We have visited often over the years and the only reservation would be that the dining room food is a bit too posh with emphasis on meat dishes ( poor vegetarian choice ) for a family meal . Hence we went for the lounge menu which was limited . Though the kids menu was good. But we will be back again as we had a wonderful stay. Thanks in particular to the gentleman on the desk outside the dining room and the lounge waiting staff!

"Comfortable stay, a few tweaks would improve it though"
Bridget G, 16 Février 2024

Positives - lovely spacious family room with a big bathroom. Good temperature control system and opening windows which is always useful if you find hotels too hot like us. Great selection for breakfast. Kids loved the pool. Not so good - Online check in is bit of a waste of time as it's repeated at the desk on arrival. In fact the whole check in process was clunky and was not a good first impression unfortunately - we paid for early check in as we wanted to change for a memorial service but it was very disorganised and we didn't really feel the benefit of what we paid for as we lost at least half an hour of that time just getting our room sorted. Likewise the check out email doesn't actually tell you what time you need to check out by which is less than helpful. I was surprised to find loose blind cords in our family room which I chose to then tie up out of the way of my 4 year old just in case - a basic safety measure that would take seconds to make safe. A step stool in the bathroom would also make hand washing much easier for small people, and a towel rail of any form near the sink as there is nowhere to sensibly put a hand towel. Small but quite important tweaks would make the family experience easier. Overall our stay was enjoyable, the staff were friendly and kind to the kids, the pool was warm and well equipped, room was spacious and clean, and food was good. Just a few wee things that would make a big difference to the overall experience.

"Fantastic staff and a lovely hotel"
MrsR2108, 16 Février 2024

I stayed in a garden room and would definitely recommend. The room was very clean and spacious. I loved the shower, and the bed was very comfortable with a selection of pillows. There was a well stocked fridge and snacks available, and the grounds outside the room were lovely. The choices at breakfast were also really good and had a large selection to choose from The hotel staff were absolutely amazing. Very friendly and attentive. Especially in the breakfast room and at reception. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the woman who checked me in was the only staff member who didn't make me feel welcome. Whilst she was never rude, she just seemed rather cold and disinterested. She gave me most of the information I needed (I had to go back to ask about breakfast), but I did feel I had annoyed her in some way. When speaking to my colleagues who all checked in at similar times they all mentioned the same thing, so I'm a little relieved it wasn't just me. Overall it was a fantastic stay. If I'm ever back in Inverness this would definitely be my preferred hotel and I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

"A super relaxing break"
cottagegarden16, 16 Février 2024

Always lovely to return to the Kingsmills. A lovely hotel super rooms, lovely and clean and very comfortable. Staff are always so friendly, helpful and kind. Food was delicious would highly recommend eggs royal for breakfast in the kings club We will be back

"Trading on past reputation"
RTP9, 15 Février 2024

Allocated room 6. Room is "tired" and dated, only plus point is newish shower room, even then no shelf for toothbrush, razor etc. Duvet was very thin and looked like a slice of white bread. Looked more like a duvet you would see in a cheap bed & breakfast. No view out of the windows, as they were "frosted over". It transpired that this was so I couldn't see the not exactly pretty machinery on the roof just outside the window. Never mind, the constant annoying hum from said machinery let me know it was there, and working. Table and chairs in the room, sadly I had to be like a removal man moving them out of the way so that I could access the wardrobe. Dining room was closed. Whisky bar ( which was festooned with bright orange glowing temporary heaters) had no free tables, so I had to go out to get something to eat. On the plus side, the welcome at Reception was excellent. I normally stay in the Kingsmills every 6 months, but from now on will look elsewhere.

"We'll be back!"
sarch333, 14 Février 2024

We've stayed here a few times and it's consistently great. From booking with Jo, to breakfast with very attentive staff (I think his name was Cal?), everything about this stay was top notch. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the grounds are lovely to wander around with the dog, breakfast is a hot and cold buffet with a menu you could order from too… all in all, great value! You always leave feeling really looked after. Thanks! We'll be back!

"Awful afternoon tea"
A6577TXpaulinec, 11 Février 2024

Was lucky enough to get a voucher for afternoon tea for two with a bottle of champagne or so I thought. It took nine attempts to book a table as they don't do afternoon tea if there is a function on. Now please bear in mind this voucher costs £105. We arrived explained that on this occasion we were not able to have the champagne as we were driving. We were told by the manager that was fine we could take the bottle away with us. Pot of tea and jug of cold water arrived. 20 minutes later the food arrived. Six finger sandwich 3 egg and 3 coronation chicken on top plate of huge stand (so big I couldn't see my husband). 2 macaroons, 2 cheesecakes, 2 lemon pies all smaller than my teaspoon. 2 small triangles of millionaire shortbread. 2 scones on a separate plate tucked under the stand. By this time the tea is cold. No staff in sight. Eventually manager woman arrived to clear table and said she would bring the champagne. Waited a while no sign of her. Took ourselves to the desk and she went away again to get the champagne and came back with it in 2 paper cups apologising she couldn't find a lid for one cup. I reiterated it was a bottle of champagne on our voucher. Away she went again and eventually came back with the bottle. Service atrocious, food even worse. I will attach photos of our £105 afternoon tea. Shocking.

"Beautiful place and Relaxing stay!"
Daeon H, 05 Octobre 2023

The staff is wonderfully supportive and helpful. We loved our room. We had breakfast, High Tea, and other food in the dining room and were extremely pleased! We aLeo used the pool and hot tub. Such a relaxing stay. Beautiful place!

"Wonderful spa treatments "
ella_macinnes, 04 Octobre 2023

Fantastic spa treatments. The massages and facials we had were incredible and so relaxing! The food was gorgeous however the restaurant was very busy and the service quite slow. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. My mother wasn't well and the distance between areas was too great for her to walk but the hotel had a wheelchair and helped us. The distances between the hotel and spa, the rooms and the restaurant and the restaurant to the toilets were quite far and a lot to walk for anyone with mobility issues. The pillows were really flat and the bathrobes provided don't cater for anyone above a size 18 female (UK) or an XL male so not catering for larger people which was a shame. But overall the hotel, spa, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were gorgeous and definitely worth another visit

"Please give your staff a pep talk."
Yve L, 01 Octobre 2023

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous and comfortable rooms, but the service in the breakfast area and upon check-in leave much to be desired. They seem annoyed by everyone. Food is good, whisky bar has nice ambiance.

"Perfect wedding venue! "
Madeleine M, 01 Octobre 2023

We recently had our wedding in the Kingsmills and it was perfect! Everything was so well organised and we didn't have to worry about anything which made the day much less stressful. The food was amazing, and I was told it was the first time that had catered a fully vegan buffet in the evening, so special thanks to the chefs for putting in so much time and effort, everyone loved it! Also special thanks to Aileen for all of her help organising everything to ensure it was exactly what we wanted, and Rhiannon who made sure everything ran perfectly on the day! Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking a golf course, and breakfast was also great! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, so thank you to everyone who helped make our day so special!

"Happy Family Dinner"
jameswK998NS, 28 Septembre 2023

We had a family celebratory dinner for 13 ages ranging from 5 to retired. The room provided was excellent, the service friendly and supportive. Small dramas/accidents associated with young children were smoothly and kindly addressed. The food and drink was tasty, promptly served, in ample portions and enjoyed by all. The communication before, during and after the event was top notch. The staff were attentive, warm and a credit to their team and profession. We consider the experience was very good value.

"Short break"
CaithnessLassie, 27 Septembre 2023

Have been to Kingsmills many times before, and remains my first choice of hotel in Inverness. Booked King's Club Retreat room for a short break, enjoyed the stay but surprised at some of the changes to services since last visit. Firstly they no longer provide a welcome plate of sweet treats on first night, also no complimentary bottle of water. We were always offered a welcome 'dram' on arrival at reception previously but not on this occasion. Thankfully they still provide fresh milk in the room but the cafetiere coffee was past its BB date. Still usable of course, but it's the little things that make a difference! Second thing of note is the hotel now has policy of charging for use of towels at the pool, so you are advised to bring your towels from the room instead, and these are then replaced after use. Not sure what benefit this is as we still used same number of towels, surely it would be less hassle to provide towels at the pool, and avoid having guests walking through the hotel with wet towels! The Kings Club rooms are still my preferred option, and I hope no further cuts are made as this impacts the overall experience of the visit. The price certainly does not reflect the reduction of service.

"Great time!"
Paradise65013591797, 24 Septembre 2023

We were at a family wedding. Amazing experience, staff were on form, the food was incredible and we were treated to a slick operation from a clearly strong and great team of people! We will definitely be back or look forward to more weddings in the same venue!

"Not what we planned or expected"
Anne L, 21 Septembre 2023

This was meant to be a splurge on a 2 night get away to Inverness as part of a vacation. The service and facilities were not as advertised. We were surprised that there was no hotel van for train pickups or for evening drives to the city. All cab rides were 20 round trip. We were greeted poorly by reception staff upon our 2 pm arrival and had to wait til 4:15 for any updates about our room readiness. We had an expensive and unimpressive lunch in the bar area while we waited. At 4:15 we were directed to the annex hotel, telling us the main hotel was booked. We had no idea of this at booking. Or when we arrived at 2. The annex seems to have been built to handle the tour bus traffic at the hotel. We found ourselves trying to check in as two large tours arrived. Breakfast turned out to be a crowded, noisy experience as the tours got organized for the day. Clearly not a great spot for a couple looking for a romantic get away. We would not recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a special stop. Expensive and absolutely not worth it! Stay in the city and walk to the restaurants in town and cabs for trips to hikes and sails more easily.

"Wonderful hotel and staff"
Claire M, 18 Septembre 2023

Really lovely hotel. We stayed in a Luxury Family Room for the weekend of a family wedding and it was very spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and all the staff were so friendly and polite, including with my little girl...she had a cold while we were there and was not herself and they were so kind. My only small comment would be that the family room was above the function suite and both nights there was loud music (obviously one night was our own event so we expected it). I'm not sure if there are any family rooms which are quieter but just something to note if you are travelling with kids and not attending an event, that it could be a little noisy. Would still be happy to stay again as this was a really minor thing for us.

"Nice place with flaws"
Monophoto-1, 17 Septembre 2023

This s a very nice and somewhat expensive hotel, so everything should be perfect, right? Rooms are large and comfortable. Excellent restaurant with a comprehensive breakfast. Its in a nice residential part of town. But then: Its a long uphill walk from the CBD. Our bathroom was well designed with adequate laydown space for the travelor's toiletries. But the wash basin is too shallow and doesn't include an overflow drain. And the shower is inadequately sealed so the entire room floods if you use the shower. The labeling on the shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles blends against the contents making the labels very difficult to read. And the pump on the body wash bottle in our room was broken. Oh, and then there is the matter of the loud dance bands playing until late in the evening

"A disappointing stay at the end of our NC500 trip"
TravelingNicx, 16 Septembre 2023

We stayed at the Kingsmills at the end of our NC500 trip. It was supposed to be our “treat stay” at the end of an otherwise fantastic trip. Unfortunately, we found the stay rather lacking, especially considering the price we paid. We arrived at 3.20 which we understand is early compared to the check in time of 4pm. Even though they knew we were there, our room wasn't ready till gone 4.15. The reception staff made little attempt to welcome us or keep us updated on progress. The room was a “basic” room and is showing signs of age. Other guests were in “luxury” rooms and we feel that they have neglected the “basic” rooms in order to make people spend more money to get fancier rooms (with bathrobes, mini bars etc) - the “basic” rooms don't even have soap or supplies you can use for the bath as they're all “locked” in the shower/by the sink. And the pumps on them don't work! To make things worse, our room had a major damp problem that got worse during our stay. The smell was awful. As we were only staying 2 nights, we tried to give it time to pass but as I say it got worse. As we were three people staying, with a dog, and the hotel was very full, we didn't feel that there would be another room available so we didn't complain until we left (we probably should have done to be honest as the room smelled awful). We ate at the conservatory restaurant on our first night. We found the menu very limited - especially the starters. It is a fixed price menu for starters and mains so you feel you have to have a starter but then the bill has them separately which was frustrating. There are also lots of menu items that have supplementary costs (half the mains for example). For our mains, one of our meals arrived uncooked so we had to send it back. The other two meals (the “smoked pork loin”) was actually gammon. Both meals came with a number of items that aren't on the menu - including main ingredients like the vegetables. This would make it very hard for anyone with allergies or even food preferences. We said at the time that it was the “worst meal of our trip” and I still stand by that. The staff were friendly but not well trained, especially for an expensive hotel. Yes, don't serve wine in a hot glass but don't serve it soaking wet having run it under the tap. If you have to show a new member of staff how to open a wine bottle, tell the guest to sit down and bring the wine bottle over. For the cost of the hotel, these are the basic things you'd expect. The breakfasts were okay but only because they were included in our rate. Overall, very disappointing and we would not recommend.

"A Wonderful Celebration Meal!"
Judith L, 14 Septembre 2023

We were recently celebrating our Book Group's 25th Anniversary, with a meal at Kingsmills. It could not have been a better venue for our celebration. From the moment we were welcomed in, we felt like really special guests and were looked after so well by all the staff we encountered. We asked to sit in the lovely terrace garden before lunch, instead of going straight into our dining room, as it was a glorious sunny day; this was facilitated easily by the staff and a waitress came to collect us, when it was time to eat. The meal was excellent, the room perfect for the event and we were all most impressed, relaxed and happy in our private room. The Kingsmills was the perfect place to celebrate this very special event. Thanks to all the staff.

"Outstanding hotel in Inverness"
Colin F, 30 Août 2023

Stunning hotel with very attentive staff. Will not hesitate to return soon. Close to Inverness centre but far enough away to feel rural, with an 18 hole golf course next door. Food was exceptional and wine choice was phenomenal.

"Conservatory Restaurant - vegetarian experience."
IA_Thomson, 26 Août 2023

We were at the restaurant on the 26th August 2023, as part of a large family celebration. We had been sent the menus the previous evening and realised that "stuffed cabbage" was the only vegetarian option on the set menu. We contacted the hotel on the Friday and were told there would be no problem ordering from the children's menu, which offered more choice. Sadly, this was not what happened at the hotel. When we explained this conversation to the waiting staff, we were told point blank "no, you cannot order from that menu". The overly salted, stuffed cabbage and mushroom mush, served with overcooked green beans. I expect far better from a four star hotel, which has proudly announced that they can cater for a vegan afternoon tea. It transpired that members of the family at the other end of the table, and served by different waiting staff, had been able to order desserts from the more nutritious children's dessert menu which included fruit. So very disappointed by the lack of knowledge and understanding of the serving staff, and the standard of the vegetarian meal offered to the adults.

"Not pleasant."
A1042UCritaa, 25 Août 2023

This hotel is rated at 4 stars but does not meet the standard. We had horrible service in the restaurant and the food was undercooked. The furniture in our room was all water damaged. The bed was saggy. There was a lot of noise from a tour bus loading up in the parking lot right outside our widow which woke us up before 6am. I do not recommend this hotel.

"Disappointing and expensive. "
Alexandra H, 22 Août 2023

Having stayed here before some years ago, I have been desperate to stay again so I saved (as it's very expensive) and booked with my two children, my mum and my sister. I wanted them to experience it! The room we had before was a family room, almost next door to the swimming pool, it had an extra room with bunk beds and two bathrooms, full length doors that opened out onto the grounds, the room was huge! I was so disappointed and upset. We entered the beautiful hotel and went to the desk where we were told we were staying across the car park at the kings club hotel, I didn't realise they had another where the spa treatments take place, we traipsed across the car park with our luggage and entered the other hotel and I could have cried. I had been so excited about this. The reception are was dismal, plain and uninviting, the man on the desk I think was called hamish was just lovely, he gave my mum and sister a complimentary whiskey, he couldn't do enough for us and was one of the most pleasant gentlemen I have met. We went to our rooms and although they were plush, super clean and had a huge KS bed, the room wasn't a patch on the previous room. There was an outside area which was adjacent to a wall so no view. It was tiny. We wanted to swim so we had to traipse across the car park back to the hotel to get to the swimming pool. The rooms were very quiet, the beds super comfy, but very plain. Breakfast was £17.50 per person! The eating area was very mundane and sparse so we declined. We paid £650 for two rooms which was hugely overpriced, as it stated on booking that it was in the exclusive kings club and spa I thought this meant next to the swimming pool in that part of the hotel, I would never have booked if I had realised and certainly never have paid so much money. It really ruined our whole trip. My mum is older now so won't get the chance to go again and I wanted her to experience the beautiful rooms I stayed in previously.

"Best hotel of our whole trip!"
aigduke, 20 Août 2023

The hospitality was amazing! We were greeted with a dram of whisky upon check in, which is exactly what we needed after a complicated train ride to Inverness. Everyone at this hotel was super friendly and this was probably our best stay of the trip. I would definitely stay here again when we go back to Inverness to see all the things there wasn't time to see on this trip! Pam at the front desk was wonderful in helping us figure out the best way to spend our limited time in the city. We had dinner in the on-property restaurant which was delicious and not terribly expensive. And the breakfasts were wonderful as well.

"Once was enough. Bus tours galore "
Kimberly F, 20 Août 2023

The beds and pillows were good. Carpet dated and in need of cleaning or replacing. Room was very clean. Quiet Why average? Needs updating, no water in rooms, expensive bang for the buck. Good parking if you have car, handicap friendly. wasn't aware of a pool until checking out.

"Great hotel"
Kat H, 09 Août 2023

This was an elegant hotel, the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful. I adored having a Nespresso machine in the room! My mother-in-law made arrangements for a bottle of scotch to be delivered to our room and worked closely with one of the staff members at the front desk who is extremely helpful. Everyone was great. I would recommend this place. Easy walking distance into town.

"Joyless Bar "
O8562JaneS, 04 Août 2023

Have long made a point of stopping by here for drinks during our annual girls' break to the Highlands. Lovely, friendly young bar staff offering polite, efficient service intimidated by senior staff and some rude guests. Clients are not impressed by allowing your staff to be treated and spoken to in such an off hand way. Hoping management take heed. Such treatment of staff reflects badly on you.

"Comfortable hotel"
KawanaTravellers, 02 Août 2023

This is a very comfortable hotel, with spacious rooms. The bed has great, with high quality linen. Excellent shower, with great water pressure. The breakfast offered many options and was delicious. It is a bit out of town, a £6 taxi ride to Inverness city centre.

"Amazing Custer Service by front desk employees!!"
Inspire625312, 02 Août 2023

To make a long story short- I messed up our hotel reservation and only booked one night instead of Two at the Kingsmill. And Every hotel in Inverness was completely booked including the Kingsmill. When we mentioned this to the front office staff every single employee went above and beyond to see what they might be able to do , including searching all the available hotels in a 50 mile radius. When all hope was lost and we were checking out, the employee we were working with (I want to say it was Ruby) was so excited to tell us they'd had a cancellation and saved the day and likely my relationship!! We were so appreciative of the wonderful customer service we received from check in on August 1 through check check out August 3. Oh. And our room was great!! We stayed in the new part of the hotel. Zero issues. Good space.

"Perfect Event Venue"
wendyjohearn, 31 Juillet 2023

Just returned from an 11-day event in the Scottish Highlands where we used the Kingsmills Hotel as our base. The hotel is in a great position, 15 minutes' walk to the town centre and a 15-minute drive from Inverness airport. There's also plenty of parking, and the rooms are big and very comfortable. But it was really the team at the hotel who made the stay so enjoyable. They could not have worked harder to help us deliver our event and look after our guests. Nothing was too much trouble no matter what we asked, and we were sad to leave. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to hold an event in the Inverness area.

"Kingsmill in Inverness, YES!"
Betsy H, 23 Juillet 2023

Kingsmill is a great place to stay. We took two day trips out of Inverness. Kingsmill is very laid back but classy at the same time. The only complaint is that the bed was VERY hard. Everything else was super easy, and staff was great. We had a garden room on the main floor and it made it very convenient to access our coming and going. I would definitely stay here again!

"Hotel with a good history!"
KotaKidTraveller, 21 Juillet 2023

It was an overnight stop for us. We drove up from Edinburgh, then to Roseile for horse-riding, before making our way to Kingsmill. It was a popular place due to it being well-established name in the area. Service in the restaurant was impeccable. We had late dinner in the lounge area — food was fantastic. Reason the review got 3 stars was because of two things. We had the family studio which could accommodate 5 of us. However, the room with the two bunk beds was too cramped and dim lighting. The kids could not sleep well in the room. Also, the glass panel of the shower stall actually came off — luckily it just slipped without crashing down (that would have been disastrous, as the glass could have cause cuts). Overall, still pleasant experience, hence the 3 stars.

"Family party"
Idiottraveller, 20 Juillet 2023

We booked the Macleod Room for a small family celebration. The Staff were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend for a similar event. Only negative was the door to reception was open for a short time at the beginning which made the room a bit with hotel guests arriving but once the door was shut it was virtually sound proof

"Poor service"
Brendon C, 19 Juillet 2023

Had a lovely stay at the Kingsmills. Food was good but the service from the ginger bar man was awful. Slow and very rude service. We ordered one gin and tonic and after waiting 15 minutes for our one drink we kindly asked him how long our drink would take to arrive when asked we were met with a very rude and abrupt response and told “it will be ready when it's ready.” Don't think we will be back.

"Overpriced & dated"
Gaz5, 17 Juillet 2023

At £340 per night in Inverness I was expecting something special. Garden room was different, but nothing more special than a Premier Inn family sized room. Bathroom was smart, but no fan working so steamed up quickly. Rug in room was dirty, other than that clean. Breakfast was buffet when at this price I would have expected service. Cooked food was tough and dry on 1st morning, perhaps out for too long, 2nd morning was a vast improvement. Hotel looking dated in areas and leisure facilities (pool & gym) is really like taking a step back in time.

"Wonderful Mini-Break"
Sarah M, 11 Juillet 2023

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Kingsmills Hotel. Staff were hugely welcoming, and the patio room suited us perfectly. We relished our breakfast every morning, it was lovely and set you up for the day. We would recommend the Kingsmills to all.

"A very comfortable stay."
Madonoume, 08 Février 2023

I've just stayed at the hotel on business and would wholeheartedly recommend the place. I cannot be more enthusiastic about the level of care and attention I have received. I would like to in particular highlight the exceptional personal attention paid to my humble self by both concierge LEE and front of house on duty EISHA. I regularly stay at both hotels and b&bs through work in various capacities currently and historically through other roles and am generally sparing with such open praise. I am however genuinely taken aback by this particular establishment. Aside from a quite excellent complement of professional, dutiful and personable staff rooms are spotless and comfortably equipped. I would not hesitate to book here again. Many many thanks for a great stay. AB. Séamus.

"Afternoon Tea"
InvernessBarney, 08 Février 2023

Would recommend Afternoon Tea at The Kingsmills Hotel . Plenty choice and alternatives available on request , food lovely , staff really friendly , tea frequently replenished , lovely , comfortable atmosphere.

"Perfect Stay"
goanjock, 06 Février 2023

We stayed at the Kingsmills on Saturday night whilst attending a show at the local theatre and yet again we had just the perfect stay. It started with an efficient friendly check in. We stayed in one of the garden rooms for the first time and it really was just perfect and so tranquil with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was king size and so comfortable and the rainforest shower just divine. The Garden Rooms really are so peaceful and we would definitely recommend them if available (although we have loved all the other rooms we have previously stayed in too). The excellent leisure club and swimming pool was just a minute walk from our room. In terms of location the hotel is just a short taxi in to town (around £7) and just a 15 minute walk or so (we got a taxi in to the town centre and walked back before enjoying a relaxing drink the Whisky Bar) so you have the advantages of being away from the centre of town with free parking but the town centre within easy reach. The breakfast selection was excellent and with the top quality products the perfect way to start the day. A huge thank you to everyone at the Kingsmills and we will definitely stay again the next time was are staying in Inverness.

"A Jekyll and Hyde review"
709GailC, 05 Février 2023

Stayed the night when attending the press ball, have attended many business events here and Craig the Ops manager gives amazing service. Sadly, not the same for the rest of the team. I called the day after leaving when I realised I'd left my jacket in the wardrobe, it's an expensive jacket given as a birthday gift and it's got sentimental meaning. I was told it wasn't there. I explained exactly where in the wardrobe I'd hung it and asked if they'd check again. The next call I received was so dismissive I wish I'd recorded it. The Duty Manager really couldn't care less, and just had a list of pointless platitudes with absolutely no interest in what I was trying to say, and even at one point said ‘if' there had been a jacket they'd have found it, so made me to feel like I was trying some sort of scam. I've attended many business functions here over the years, and always been well looked after, but on this occasion someone has got themselves a practically brand new Helly Hansen jacket, and the DM I spoke to really couldn't have cared less. I have now sent a photo of the jacket, and received a cursory response. I was told ‘if there is an issue we'll investigate', again I'm made to feel like I'm conducting some sort of fraud. Lesson learned in always double checking a room, but I now don't have my special jacket, and whilst the DM said she'd keep me updated I doubt she will. I've lost my faith in the Kingsmills customer care over this.

"Not the best.... "
DKnight2014, 04 Février 2023

Our room was spacious but a bit dated and odd interior design, brown wallpaper and red curtains, plus the hallway carpet was a strange red swirl with large orange butterflies, the leisure centre continued the weird colours heather/lilac carpet and walls with red chairs. I was ok with the beds but my husband and three kids said the beds were uncomfortable and my husband hardly slept. The staff were pleasant enough and the bar/lounge and restaurant were beautifully decorated. Breakfast was good but attention to detail was poor, there were dirty napkins under my chair and I had go through the plates at the hot food to find a clean one. Needless to say I don't think we will be returning, even though we got a great deal, it's just not worth a tired husband and kids!

"Event weekend in Inverness"
Donald F, 31 Janvier 2023

Visited for an event weekend, the catering for approx 200 was excellent and efficiently done. The staff were young but very pleasant and good . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to all discerning travellers. Amenities are close by and easily reached by taxi. Evening meal in restaurant on Friday out with event was very dissappointing

"Cold room with very little for vegetarians. Overpriced hotel."
626marshat, 30 Janvier 2023

Very little for vegetarians to eat. We had to go out each night for dinner. Our room was very cold and the thermostat would go back to 18 degrees after we changed it to 21. I slept with my thermals on. Massage was booked as a surprise, my mum had passed away at Christmas and I have Fibromyalgia. It only lasted for 45 minutes instead of the hour. I am including my changing/dressing time in this. A hotel in the Highlands with a union jack flag, a Ukraine flag and two others outside, but no Scottish flag? We hadn't been to the Highlands before, such a shame to see this. The staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed. The hotel is definitely not worth the money they charge though. If going to Inverness please book a different hotel. There are plenty about including other spas, we saw them when walking into town for food. To walk into town takes about 20 minutes or a taxi each way is £8. Inverness is beautiful, we will come back again as so much to see, but not to this hotel.

"Nowhere better in Inverness!"
cocoandmac, 29 Janvier 2023

Kingsmills hotel never disappoints, instead doing the impossible and improving on perfection every time! From the welcome, the rooms, the wonderful staff, to the peace and tranquility of the leisure club which was a treat after a stressful day. Would not stay anywhere else in Inverness!

"Good Hotel "
jbg7, 25 Janvier 2023

My wife and two daughters spent two nights at the Kingsmill in a family room. The room was large, spacious and clean. We had a king bed and bunk beds. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. One thing we found unusual was the lack of a small fridge within the room however we called reception and one was delivered on request. With young families I assumed it would have been a standard item in the room. There is a basic gym and indoor pool which is accessed by having to walk through the restaurant/whiskey bar and reception area. Not ideal if you're walking back to your room after the being at the pool. We had breakfast each morning and there is a good selection of food and friendly waiting staff on hand. In fact all the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful, especially the cleaning staff. There is ample parking which is free. The only thing we found frustrating was the slow internet. A hotel of this standard probably needs to improve the internet speed or provide faster internet for a set price. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at the Kingsmill and would happily stay again

"Such a pleasant hotel"
Macct, 22 Janvier 2023

Welcoming staff. Comfortable clean large room. Housekeeping was attentive and friendly our room was always immaculate all throughout our stay! We made sure to leave a tip. . Breakfast buffet and cooked option were plentiful and good. Wound recommend 100%

"Good money for amazing standard!"
Maja K, 12 Janvier 2023

Amazing few days away with my husband and our wee dog. Room was great, we had a patio room which was so comfortable to walk with our dog. Hotel is situated in great area, close to city centre and not far away from Loch Ness! SPA great, not many people at the same time. Breakfast were amazing, so many choices! Staff very friendly, helpful. We definitely will come back!

"Room Service"
Marion F, 10 Janvier 2023

As we had our dog with us we decided to get room service for dinner. For a hotel this size the food was awful. I had to leave my food it was that bad. I had fish & chips and I'm sorry to say that the chips were just awful. We were in a rush the following morning to speak to someone about our evening meal. Otherwise it's in a lovely setting.

"Worth a second visit"
3396peterb123, 08 Janvier 2023

Told on booking to book in at 4pm but queues at 4pm are hectic, got to reception and told we over in the kingsmill spa through the car park. But over in other building, booked straight in with no hassle, lovely room with patio doors on to a patio table and chairs looking on the golf course. With complimentary whiskey for both of us, lovely big rooms, fresh smelling, big toilet, shower and bath. Booked a table at 6.30 for dinner, we arrived early and got to our table straight away. Food was a two course or three. Disappointed with amount of choice of starter, and main courses as my wife is a tad fussy. But food was excellent. Disappointed to find out then that the other part of the bar/restaurant did normal food, I.e, burgers and chips, fish and chips etc. food that my wife more at home with. As £80 for two meals with no drinks was a bit nippy. The pool and steam room are well attended and a good point to get in and relax. Staff are very well hands on and well mannered. Breakfast over in the kingsmill spa is one of the best I've had for a while. Plenty choice, good quantity, best of all all local sourced items, Bacon, black pudding, etc. all well laid out, all well cooked, and plenty of choice. My best part of any night away is the breakfast, so on this occasion I will give 9/10 for breakfast alone. Will we go back, 100% yes.

"Disappointing visit"
lk60a, 06 Janvier 2023

Visited for spa treatment and festive afternoon noon tea. Having to go between the pool area which is in hotel and spa(across the car park) was not ideal or very relaxing. Our robes and slippers didn't arrive at pool area and had to be chased up. It felt as if the staff in the two areas were very seperate!! Refreshment drinks in kitchen area were locked away, despite staff being aware of our visit. It was eventually opened up. The festive afternoon tea(the bit I'd most been looking forward too) lacked imagination and taste and to be honest half of it looked as if it had been bought in. We did comment to a member staff at the time. I personally wouldn't rush to go back.

"HollyWood"
Hollywood1967, 06 Janvier 2023

Lovely touch with the blue urinal cubes , I normally prefer the yellow ones but hey, I'm all for change , went for a couples retreat was so nice to get away , even has time to get my nails done while my better half messed around in the pool

"Nice hotel with garden rooms"
sleepytinykoala, 06 Janvier 2023

We had a garden room with a little terrace. The room was very well furnished and comfortable with everything you may need. The bathroom with a rain shower was spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the bar with a huge selection of different whiskeys. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choices of food for everyone.

"January getaway in the Scottish highlands"
39ailsap, 04 Janvier 2023

We stayed here as a treat to start of the new year! We had seen online that there was a January deal available for all stays from Sunday - Thursday in January. We found it very difficult to book this online so my partner phoned up to book and was told the deal wasn't available for our January dates (despite the fact we were staying Sunday - Tuesday) which was quite confusing. Despite this we decided to book anyway. On arrival staff were very cheery and pleasant. We were given a brochure with all the information about the hotel on it and it included information on a buffet dinner. We decided to go there but were told that unfortunately this was only for Hogmanay guests. This sadly was a theme of our visit! I would advise anyone thinking of going to the hotel at the beginning of January, to book for a later date instead as we felt like we were joining a party right at the end because so much was for Hogmanay guests only. We felt as though we were something of an after thought for our stay as there was so much attention on Hogmanay guests. Our room was beautiful and cleaning staff were very friendly and did an excellent job. The hotel itself is also very nice and the food was 10/10. The pool facilities could do with an update and the sauna room was actually just full of debris and not actually functioning when we were there. Despite this, we really liked the hotel and would definitely return. The location is excellent and the hotel is clean and charming with lovely friendly staff.

"New Year Package 22/23"
Vidsap, 04 Janvier 2023

We have stayed at the Kingsmills Hotel on a number of occasions but have never been for New Year. From the moment we arrived on Thursday 29th Dec to departure on 2nd January it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were terrific, either the cleaners doing your room, the waiters and waitresses serving the meals, bar staff and all the Managers, all welcomed you with a smile and a good morning/evening etc. The quality of food over the 4 days was exceptional from afternoon tea on arrival to breakfast on departure. Congratulations to all involved arranging the various events that took place, with activities for all ages. Looking forward to booking for 23/24.

"5-star service in a beautiful Scottish hotel"
CarolinaMcB, 28 Décembre 2022

Beautiful hotel, 5-star service! The staff treated us like royalty and that's makes the clients feel special. That makes a hotel stand above others. We booked the family room with the bunk beds and the gorgeous purple couch. It was very comfortable and spacious. Our bathroom had both a rain shower and a separate bathtub which was great. We booked the breakfast at the hotel too which was very good value for money and the service was exceptional! There is an indoor pool as well as a hot tub and a steam room. The pool is not very big but we went early in the day so it was not busy. I would highly recommend the Kingsmills hotel! I'd like to go back at a warmer time if the year in order to enjoy the gardens as well.

"Afternoon Tea for 2"
B2535ITfionas, 19 Décembre 2022

I enjoyed a very enjoyable afternoon tea today with my son. Food was very fresh and seasonal which was a lovely Christmas treat! Tip ups given for tea and coffee, and a glass of bubbles made it special :) Certainly worth a try :) Staff very attentive and friendly.

"Christmas Lunch"
annmurdoch61, 17 Décembre 2022

Just had Christmas Lunch today. High quality and great service. Food better than expected at these pre Christmas lunches. We all enjoyed it. Have never stayed at the hotel but it was very busy and facilities looked good.

"Definitely would recommend "
661greyt, 16 Décembre 2022

This hotel had the best food my husband and I ate during our two week trip! We also loved our patio room accommodations. Centrally located as well. We walked to a downtown area and were a short drive from Tesco!

"wonderful couple of days"
sanded55, 14 Décembre 2022

Recently stayed here with friends and family. A great experience. Craig and his staff are a credit to the hotel and we will definitely be back. We were treated to a pedicure down at the spa and the girls there are very nice, nothing too much bother and very professional. This was our first time in the actual hotel, we normally stay down in the spa annexe. Had our dinner here the first night and it was great, food and service were excellent. Breakfast is wonderful too, although very busy. Lots of Christmas do's on but that didn't alter the service we received at dinner and breakfast.. Would always recommend this hotel. Thanks again for a wonderful time and will see you all next time we are up

"Works Christmas party"
Kayeann D, 11 Décembre 2022

A massive thank you to all the staff for making our first staff night out since covid a brilliant one. Fantastic, friendly, and quick service both at the event and for breakfast in the morning. Big shout out to the amazing housekeeping team for such a clean and well presented room. Would definitely recommend, especially for the party nights. Looking forward to returning next year!

"Poor Customer Service certainly not a luxury hotel"
lmac102, 07 Décembre 2022

On arrival both parties were unable to gain access to our rooms as key cards wouldn't work. On using the restaurant we were served the wrong meal which was taken away and the lactose removed but other items were replaced ie bacon on burger. No condiments or cutlery - we had to ask two different servers before we got them. Restaurant manager was ambivalent to complaints which reducing the bill he never once proceeded an apology prefers g instead to berate a young waitress for his shortcomings. Would not recommend

"Wonderful Stay at Kingsmill's"
mairiryan99, 06 Décembre 2022

A group of us go to the Kingsmill's every year, we are called the Fire ladies. We returned this year 2nd Dec 2022. We were greeted as always with a warm welcome and during our stay the friendly and attentive staff from all areas were amazing. The food and rooms did not disappoint. Thank you all for looking after us so well..........Mairi

"A Short Break"
Mike D, 04 Décembre 2022

Absolute luxury....My wife(who is wheelchair bound) and myself had a short break in Inverness for 3 days.....can't rate this Hotel and it's wonderful staff too highly....cheerful' helpful and nothing too much trouble at all levels....I highly recommend this establishment .....thanks for a great stay

"Perfect Hotel"
M M, 30 Novembre 2022

We recently held our work team event in The Kingsmills Hotel in October and we couldn't fault a thing. The rooms, meals and service were all fantastic. Trying to arrange an event for nearly 20 people was like trying to herd cats but Aileen, the Events Co-ordinator was very professional (and extremely patient) when answering my constant emails trying to accommodate all our staff needs and ensuring everything ran smoothly for us. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Kingsmills Hotel and would definitely stay there again.

"The Golden Girls!"
Scottishsaladdodger, 25 Novembre 2022

Three of us ladies - friends since primary school - booked in here to celebrate one of our 60th birthdays. Everything was wonderful: the spacious comfortable room, the huge spotless shower, the thoughtful celebratory touches (thank you Rachel!) and the friendly helpful staff. The hotel was busy and festive already but service at dinner was quick, and the buffet breakfast next morning had plentiful choices. Excellent value and highly recommended.

"Probably the best overall hotel experience I have had in many years"
H5534HLnickb, 22 Novembre 2022

My wife and I arrived at the hotel after a long day of travelling, the receptionist who greeted us was warm in her manner, very helpful and made us feel so welcome, from this moment onwards, every member of staff we came across, from management, restaurant staff to room cleaning...were all exactly the same! The room was lovely, the bed and linen were just right, and the food both breakfast and evening meals (both lounge menu and the 'a la carte') was a really good standard and very enjoyable. Every member of staff made us feel welcome, other hotels could learn a lot from this hotel and we will definitely be returning to this hotel early next year (even though it's further away from our destination) it's worth the extra travelling...five stars.

"Great place to stay in Inverness"
SFBayAreaTraveller00, 21 Novembre 2022

Charming hotel with a lot of character. Great whiskey collection and very good food. Excellent service. Nice swimming pool. We stayed in the newer separate section which was near a golf course with nice views. The main hotel dining room and bar was full of activity each night - everybody having a good time. Wish we could have spent more time.

"Unprofessional for the price !"
Carol M, 21 Novembre 2022

Had anti- ageing facial at the kingsmills spa, definitely not worth £75 and wasn't a full hour as specified. No consultation before facial as to what areas needed attention, seemed to be a rushed job!!

"Should be a 5 star hotel"
andrewbhm, 17 Novembre 2022

Excellent dog friendly hotel spacious and comfortable Great leisure facilities Food is tremendous Well stoked whisky bar Great walks for the dogs and the garden cabins are well appointed The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you

"Very civilised place to stay"
JMM61055, 17 Novembre 2022

I was in a separate cabin room with a wonderful bathroom equipped with an excellent shower. A peaceful location but only a few yards away from the bar and dining room. A generous breakfast was available too

"Great Stay"
janegH7466NS, 16 Novembre 2022

We recently stayed for two nights at the Kingsclub, which is part of the Kingsmills Hotel and is situated across the car park from the Kingsmills. We had never been before but I would definitely stay again! Our room was a Retreat King with a balcony which looked over the golf course. We were lucky enough with the weather to be able to sit out with a coffee in the mornings. Our room was spacious and had a queen bed. We were greeted with a complimentary whisky on arrival, and we had fresh bottled water in the room daily. The breakfast was delicious with a choice of continental or cooked, and the breakfast room (in the Kingsclub reception area) was so bright and pleasant to sit in. We could have booked to have dinner in the Kingsmills but we chose to eat out, however we did have cocktails in the Whisky Bar of the Kingsmills, which were lovely. During our stay we used the swimming pool, hot tub and steam room, which were great. I also used the cardio gym. The staff were friendly and helpful in all dealings we had with them. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel!

"First class hotel"
Joan M, 16 Novembre 2022

This hotel is a magnificent hotel. We celebrated our wedding ceremony & reception at the hotel which was an amazing experience & have also stayed here for weekend breaks on numerous occasions as a couple & also with our grandchildren. We Could not fault this hotel in any way. Very relaxed atmosphere . All the staff are excellent, very polite & friendly, very eager to help, knowledgeable in their own specialities within the hotel. High standard of service at all times.Wide variety of Cuisine of high standard & well presented. Great selection of rooms, very comfortable & of high standard. Very relaxing location & beautiful gardens within the grounds. I would highly recommend this hotel with regards to all aspects & will continue to stay at this hotel in the future in Inverness.

"Wonderful Hotel in a beautiful city"
Scientist2011, 15 Novembre 2022

The hotel is a 10-min walk from the center of the city, next to (what else? this is Scotland!) a golf course. The walk is easy, scenery is beautiful. We stayed 3 night, 2 rooms. Staff was great, friendly, helpful, always ready to help, call taxi, assist with luggage, etc. Restaurant on site is very good, good staff, tasty food, good selection (buffet-style).

"Drive Around Highlands!"
Maclebon M, 08 Novembre 2022

What is it with the English??? I'm married to a Brit, whose a citizen of the USA, and visit England several times a year! We spend thousands of pounds here each trip. We couldn't get back into the Ness Walk hotel on the last leg of the PENIS287..Clarkson, Hammond snd Mays half NC500 tour, so we booked here. We just finished the drive from the Torridon Estate, with the top down..9C and were cold and tired! All we wanted was a good beer and a proper martini! Got our luggage in our room and headed for the bar…only to be told the table, in the bar area…a single floor, no steps, etc…was only for handicapped access. We moved and watched the waitress let a single female seat herself, put her laptop out and promptly order. I'm not sure, but is it because I'm an American, White or not handicapped???? This woman wasn't! I'm real tired of this lack of REAL manners! I guess it's as you go? I'm rethinking my next stay in Inverness and I haven't even been here long enough to finish my martini!!!

"Consistently great."
Debbie M, 08 Novembre 2022

This is a great hotel in a great location. The staff are very friendly and you always get a warm welcome. The rooms are really good, very spacious and comfortable. Food is always good and there is a great selection at breakfast.

"Only marked down as decor slightly dated"
Voyage781114, 03 Novembre 2022

Great stay. Staff were fantastic, the room was huge and very comfortable. Everything was really clean, but it did look a bit dated. Nice big car park. Excellent value for money. Didn't eat breakfast so can't comment on that.

"Favourite hotel"
alanyounie, 02 Novembre 2022

We always try to stay here when passing through Inverness. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The food is always so good. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and I never need to worry about getting something delicious. The staff are all brilliant! Reception, bar/restaurant, housekeeping and Spa, nothing is ever too much trouble.

"Sadly not up to its usual standard"
drmc90, 31 Octobre 2022

Having stayed at Kingsmills on numerous occasions we booked a short break to coincide with the Andrea Bocelli concert which we were attending. As a result we paid the top rate to stay in a Garden Room. We had faults with the TV and spent much of our stay without a TV, no one seemed able to get an appropriately skilled person to resolve the problem. This was disappointing as this must have been one of the busiest weekends of the year in the hotel and I would have thought that this could have been fixed. We returned from the concert and waited in the bar/ lounge for service but clearly everyone was busy just trying to cope with all the guests returning after the concert. Having waited for service I went to the bar to order some sandwiches, but was told that is was after 11.00, it was 11.03, the kitchen was closed and I needed go to reception if I still wanted any food. The round of sandwiches did eventually arrive after ordering them at reception, but they were far from value for money. I still don't see why the bar staff couldn't help us out or why it was that the hotel was so underprepared on this busy weekend. Much as I really like the Kingsmills having stayed there many times over the years, this time I felt that it simply wasn't value for money with a real lack of staff with the skills to match the prices that were being charged.

"Lovely place"
WarwickBeauchamp, 31 Octobre 2022

Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Great property and a really nice service from everyone at this place. We had a luxury double room which was really great. Very clean and bright and a super comfortable bed. The breakfast was superb and the staff very friendly.

"Wonderful"
Lhebert_00, 24 Octobre 2022

We spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel. Reception was friendly and welcoming as was all staff. We requested a quiet room due to the fact that we needed sleep and rest. Request granted…we had a perfect stay, room was was spacious, clean and lovely, comfortable bed w/ a seating area and a small balcony overlooking a golf course. We had drinks at the bar in the main building of the hotel and again great service and nice atmosphere. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I recommend this hotel 100% :)

"Perfect "
Acran, 23 Octobre 2022

Have just returned from saying here for a Family wedding. The experience was too class from start to finish. We had a ground floor room with outdoor seating within the gardens. The room was quite large and had spacious. The staff went above and beyond to make the whole duration as special as possible and couldn't have been more professional. Food was delicious and plenty of choice during breakfast. A special place for a special event

"Exceptional"
MomDawn, 20 Octobre 2022

Excellent hotel and lovely room, with comfortable beds and sofa. I had to let them know that the electrics by the side of the bed and that the aircon wasn't working and it was sorted in an instant. We had room service, a brasserie meal and a restaurant meal and all were lovely but the meal in the restaurant was exceptional. The staff are super friendly. The walk is approx 20-25 mins into town but OK on a dry day.

"A great afternoon tea."
Geoffrey G, 16 Octobre 2022

Afternoon tea experience which was a Christmas gift from a close friend. All the staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming and very efficient. The tea itself was an excellent combination of savoury and patisseries, well presented and with plenty of temptation. Tea and coffee were accompanied by a glass of champagne. We were served in the conservatory garden room, which had a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere making our experience thoroughly enjoyable and memorable.

"Clean but terrible food and mattresses"
ElizabethPMcG, 16 Octobre 2022

Nice room for our family of four - bunk beds for the kids, large bathroom and sitting area. My husband and I woke with sore backs due to the poor mattresses. And the food for both dinner and breakfast was some of the worst we've had on our trip to Scotland. We ordered fresh hake for dinner, and the setups of mashed peas and potatoes tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for several hours. I might even suspect that the peas were from a can. Overall the food and hotel seemed stale.

"Comfortable hotel in a lovely location"
captsqueak, 15 Octobre 2022

Nice roomy hotel with a comfortable bed. We were able to relax and unwind. Rooms were very clean as well. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast and my wife's life threatening food allergy was catered for with no cross contamination Keep up the good work

"So very friendly and accommodating"
Tony_livesey, 14 Octobre 2022

Just back from 2 nights at the Kingsmills Hotel. A garden room overlooking beautifully tended gardens, Huge bed, spacious modern bathroom with large walk in shower. Staff were friendly without being obsequious, and were ever helpful. Also the food was excellent, From the breakfast - where all the hot offerings were fresh, to the dinners we enjoyed, really relaxed fine dining, and generous portions. For us the ‘extra' was that they are so dog friendly. For us its the only choice in Inverness.

"Beautiful hotel"
Melodie G, 10 Octobre 2022

This was a beautiful hotel. We stayed in a garden room which was secluded and beautiful with our own little private patio. It was my husband's birthday and they bent over backwards to make everything special for us and even helped when we were stuck because of a train strike. Every member of staff from reception to chamber maids were friendly and helpful. Thanks so much Oh and the pool was great too x

"trip with friends"
Michele1019, 08 Octobre 2022

Stayed at the Kingsmill in mid September. Was disappointed that we got placed in a "garden suite" because we had to walk outside to get to the main part of the hotel and with our luggage back and forth, but luckily the weather was moderate with little rain. Otherwise, the room was fairly clean and the staff helpful. Meal in the restaurant and daily breakfasts were good. Would stay again in the main part of the hotel

"Our wedding 01.10.2022"
amygU2030IZ, 08 Octobre 2022

We got married at the hotel on October 1st and what can I say.. it was everything we wanted and more. From the initial planning to the day itself, the staff were just incredible. They made us feel completely at ease amongst all the wedding nerves and were on hand whenever we needed them. A massive thank you to Kevin and Aileen who did such a great job on the day, we couldn't thank you enough ❤️

"Enjoyed Our Stay in the King's Club"
maritimeexplorer, 07 Octobre 2022

A previous reviewer was really down on the King's Club which is a newer adjunct to the older Kingsmill Hotel where the main dining room and bar are located. I'm not sure if we could both be reviewing the same place. First of all I found the staff very helpful and nor clueless as suggested. The rooms are quite nice and I really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the Inverness golf course only a few feet away. Watching and chatting with passing golfers and dog walkers was a bonus. The room was spacious with a very nice bathroom which had a separate bathtub & shower. The breakfast buffet was quite nice if not over the top and the fruit was not old as suggested and the eggs were not disgusting. In fact they were presented exactly as at the Gleneagles resort which is definitely five star. It was an easy fifteen minute walk into the heart of Inverness. Overall I would certainly recommend the King's Club.

"Excellent stay in garden room"
Judith A, 02 Octobre 2022

Warm welcome at Reception, and very helpful throughout my brief stay. Pleasant lunch and service in the conservatory. Good menu for room service supper. Excellent breakfast offering. And the garden room was delightful. Thanks to all the team, especially Kathy and Sarina on reception, and Emma and Laura in the restaurant.

"Wonderful Experience and Excellent Food!"
975renek, 28 Septembre 2022

We recently spent 2 nights at the Kingsmills Hotel while on a coach tour of Scotland and we had a wonderful experience! The room was spacious and comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in the area.

"Horrible experience. A 3 star hotel advertised as 4 star with 5 star hotel price. Not worth the money."
280jaclync, 28 Septembre 2022

The Kingsmill Hotel is nothing as advertised. Beware upon booking. If they say you are staying in the “exclusive” Kingsmill club & spa please expect a mediocre 3 star hotel accommodation for a 5 star hotel price. Breakfast is the equivalent of old fruit dumped in a bowl and disgusting eggs. To add insult to injury, staff is clueless and unhelpful. Every day we had a different issue with tours and taxis and we were misinformed by staff at the hotel. The most egregious of errors is when we booked a tour right through their hotel and we were waiting in their “exclusive” club and the tour guide left without us. Inverness is absolutely beautiful and should not be missed. However, if you are staying at the Kingsmill, I highly suggest you rebook elsewhere. I'm not sure where this hotel gets 4 stars from because the room accommodations were barely 3 star and service form the hotel was unacceptable. My phone and google were more helpful than the supposed concierge. I will not be back and I highly suggest anyone traveling to Inverness to stay at the Best Western instead if you truly would like service and nice accommodation.

"Lovely Relaxing Stay"
Graeme_Jane2908, 26 Septembre 2022

Had a lovely relaxing stay in the Kings Club Suite. Suite was modern, light spacious and well furnished. Well situated for a brief 10 minute walk to town centre in a pleasant safe area. Seems to be extremely popular with the golfing fraternity although I wouldnt know one end of a golf bat from another (lol) but it was nice set in and around the course. Breakfast was really nice, Staff are pleasant, welcoming and helpful and i was particularly impressed with the help Kevin the Ops manager gave and went out of his way to make sure every stay was enjoyable. Will defintely be back and will go for the suites again - Great value and a great break. Thanks all

"Excellent"
Phil P, 23 Septembre 2022

No complaints, no issues with a very friendly staff. Stayed two nights so had plenty of time to explore. Our room was overlooking the golf course, super to wake up to the sunshine onto our balcony, although weather is not in the hands of the hotel team, but what a room with a view. One tiny critique; perhaps fit the bedroom doors with soft closures, the people in the next room to us, seemed to delighted by slamming their door at 06:30 several times on both mornings. Otherwise recommended hotel

"King's club and Spa (duo package)"
X6438SZvickyv, 22 Septembre 2022

We just had a wonderful morning at the kingmills Hotel. A friend and I booked in for a duo package at the Kings club spa. It was fantastic, from the moment you walk in you start to relax, our therapists were Nora and Chloe. They were fantastic and made us feel so comfortable. The treatment includeed full body wrap with hand and foot massage, then a facial and full body massage. The therapist are really good at what they do. They listened to us and catered to our individual needs. The products they used, are all natural and smelt amazing!! This was then followed by a glass of champagne and a 3 course lunch that was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be treating ourselves to this again soon. Thanks to all the staff for our enjoyable day.

"Nice Hotel, noisy in the wrong room"
Larry E, 20 Septembre 2022

The rooms in the hotel are very roomy (bathroom included). There is a rain shower in the bathroom and the water temperature was great. The staff are nice and the breakfast was good. The only down points were the lack of USB charging outlets and the lack of a 110v outlet in the bathroom for razors. We also got a room on right above the lobby on Floor 1. There was a lot of traffic noise from the road. I would recommend asking for a room away from the road, as there was a lot a traffic (unless you are a heavy sleeper).

"Loved this hotel!"
timrN8194CR, 15 Septembre 2022

This was our first time staying at The Kingsmill Hotel. The room was a great size and our room opened up onto the golf course! The hotel was nice and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My only “ding” was the dinner meals took quite a while, but we were a large group. Also, a few of our crew said the house white & red wines were terrible. Otherwise, everything was great. In total, this hotel was a homerun! We'd definitely stay here again.

"Great hotel, good location."
happyhel38, 11 Septembre 2022

What a lovely hotel. It's what I call a proper Scottish hotel. The rooms are large, really well equipped and comfortable. I love the sofa area, really nice and rare in lots of hotels. Staff are friendly. Tea and coffee, water and biscuits all provided.

"Beyond Perfect"
pug1309Scotland, 08 Septembre 2022

Beyond perfect , from day 1 when we approached the Kingsmills hotel to host our wedding they could not be more helpful or professional covering every detail . Our day was as special as it should be and a little bit more and this was down to the service we received from Kevin and his team , from front desk , dining staff , bar staff to concierge the whole team went beyond the call of duty . The set up was exceptional, the organisation was on point and nothing was an issue or a problem for the KM team. Moving on to the food , We had a 2 choice , 3 course option and this included Vegan and children's meals also , the feedback from every guest was 100% and not one bad comment on great food wonderfully presented. Bottom line is if you want your best day to be held at the best location then look no further than the Kingsmills Hotel , you will not be disappointed or regret your choice . We shall be back for meals and hopefully meet up with some of the team that looked after us on our special day .

"Wonderful hotel in Inverness"

This hotel has beautiful swimming pool and lots of garden to spend time in. all staff were very lovely and pay great attention to us giving great value for our money.

"Insight Vacation's Breakfast Buffet"
Donaldpowel, 30 Août 2022

My Mom insisted that I write a review on The Kingsmills Hotel & Spa, Inverness. She is on vacation with my pop travelling around Europe, but was so taken with Inverness and the lovely staff in your hotel. They were served by Carly who was so friendly and polite . They will definitely return to Inverness and the Kingsmills Hotel and Spa.

"Not as good as previous visits"
cassie s, 30 Août 2022

We have visited the Kingsmill several times over the years. Afraid this is the last. First of all the lady on reception was lovely, a trainee. Great service from her. Our room was a garden room. Have to say for the price it was really below par. Very poorly designed and the shower water almost went into the room, this then leaves the bathroom floor wet and lethal. The milk in the fridge for our room had been opened and was off. We did get more when my husband went to reception. The bed really could be done with being replaced. It creaked with every movement. Other times we have visited there was nice touches like bags of fudge in the room, a voucher for a drink, this time nothing like that. This is probably the most serious thing, after being in the pool we were in the changing rooms getting dressed. The fire alarm went off. Not one person came in looking for either myself or husband. I had to throw on my clothes as quickly as possible and get out. If I was not able bodied / or had a hearing issue and there had been a fire the consequences do not bear thinking about. We were singed into the building why did nobody come and make sure the building was empty ? When I managed to run out after putting clothes on all the staff were outside, no sign of my husband. He came out a few minutes later. In all for the money paid it was not worth it. The staff were good, especially the young trainee lad behind the bar who was getting a lot of grief from one customer.

"Beautiful venue for a wedding"
emg199, 03 Août 2022

My husband and I had our wedding here. It was organised beautifully and we had the most amazing day. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were wonderfully attentive and so kind. We chose to have a small wedding with little fuss and something not overly formal and our events coordinator was super at arranging this just how we wanted, and also helping to make suggestions on things we hadn't thought about - for example background music, we hadn't thought about this, and the kingsmills kindly provided us with a Bluetooth speaker which we could use. The tables were arranged beautifully and the meal itself was delicious. We were delighted to be able to use the spectacular gardens to capture our photographs and were lucky to have a sunny day for this too! Our MC was so kind and attentive and amazing with the kids, especially the little ones! Thank you so much Kingsmills Hotel x

"J Steven"
Arlene J, 02 Août 2022

One of our favorite hotels in Scotland. The peaceful setting, decor and, most of all, the warm and helpful staff who made us feel very welcomed! We were accommodated by Ed, Cathy and Dominicc. Couldn't ask for a more delightful stay!

"Old & tired, would not recommend"
thesuburbanites, 31 Juillet 2022

First, I originally wrote a review on Google on this which elicited a response from the “Operations Manager” to contact him. After several phone calls, I still await a response. More on this later. Now, we arrived through a pre-booked stay via American Express to find a room that was old and tired, and hotter than Hell in July (around 30 Celsius). The part of the building they shoved us into was the “older” part (lesson: don't pre-book), it overlooked the newer section with —you guessed it —air conditioning. Their solution was a cheap fan stuck in a room where windows opened to about an inch. Presumably so you can circulate hot air when it's 15 Celsius outside. Registered our concern with the hotel staff (who was not helpful) and American Express (who eventually remove hotels that receive numerous complaints). The hotel refused to do anything even when told that one of our party has Asthma. Horrible service. When the Operations Manager responded to our Google review to “discuss our experience”, I left several messages with my direct contact to call. Even asked for a specific time to call and called back at that time. I reached the conclusion that his Google response lacked sincerity. They certainly know my information and how to reach me but made no effort. The least the hotel could have done was to refund the stay since the room was entirely unacceptable but they refused that as well. Desk staff was surly, which was very surprising in Inverness. We ended up at another hotel and had a brilliant stay. If you need a sauna for your room with furnishings that have seen better days 20 years ago and rude staff, stay here. Despite all the glowing comments, this hotel has seen better days and better management.

"hotel stay with spa visit"
N2863BGsm, 29 Juillet 2022

enjoyable stay while exploring the area. room a bit faded but clean and pleasant. good location not in but close to the centre, good jumping off point for exploring the area. had a massage at the spa which is nice, but massage was disappointing. overal a nice stay

"A few days in the Highlands"
dolly601, 28 Juillet 2022

We arrived very tired from an overnight train journey. We were greeted by Lee who ushered us into the dining room for a complimentary breakfast. Our travel company had booked us an assisted room which we did not require. Craig was able to find us a more suitable room with bath/shower. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Food excellent. A lovely Hotel experience - well done to Management and your team. Jan & Steve

"Kingsclub stay"
carolynhZ1712PL, 20 Juillet 2022

Lovely 3 night stay in The Kingsclub and Spa. Beautiful view over the golfcourse in a balcony room. Bedroom was very clean, huge bed, bathroom spacious and clean. friendly staff. Pam at the check in desk very friendly, knowledgeable, made to feel very welcome. All the team we met in the main hotel and the Kingsclub were very friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Meals taken were lovely, well presented and hot. Had Afternoon tea which was beautiful and very tasty. Breakfast was served in the Kingsclub, very relaxed experience, Jackie very friendly. Lovely to see the hotel buzzing after lockdown. A first stay away after lockdown which was made much easier by the warm and friendly team A repeat visit definitely on the cards. Well done everyone keep doing what you are doing. Thank you for a lovely 3 night stay.

"It's all about the service"
oingobo, 16 Juillet 2022

My family, 9 of us, recently stayed at the Kingsmill during a tour of Scotland. We were treated so well by all of the staff. They were able to seat us for tea at the end of our tour day, which was the perfect ending to a lovely day in charming Inverness. But the biggest highlight of all was our whisky tasting, led by Euan. He was so patient waiting for us to gather ourselves - we had just arrived and were unsure if a tasting had been arranged by our tour company but I ran into him in the lobby and deduced that he was waiting for us. I scrambled us together, including my 85 year old mother, and Euan charmed us throughout our tasting. It was really the highlight of our trip. He was thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable and fun. We visited him again the following evening in the lounge and he took such great care of us. Can't say enough great things about Euan.

"Kings Club"
BeeMass, 15 Juillet 2022

Enjoyed our stay in a Kings Club room. Our room was ready when we checked in during the late afternoon and we were greeted with a “wee dram”! Room was very large and comfortable. Hotel is walking distance to the city center - about 3/4 to 1 mile depending on your destination.

"Retirement lunch"
Calamityjack, 13 Juillet 2022

Just home from the most wonderful retirement lunch. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and it certainly was. Incredible venue, wonderful service and delicious food. A shining example of how events should be delivered. Thank you!

"Very good choice"
travbud1, 06 Juillet 2022

This is a very good choice in Inverness. It is a good 15 minute walk from town, but in a quiet area. The breakfast was good and the food at the restaurant was also good. The staff was very helpful in accommodating what we needed as a large group, especially boxed lunches. However, and this is incredibly important, the wifi in the hotel, specifically in the bedroom, was absolutely terrible. It was impossible to use for video calling or frankly even general web browsing. This is frankly a requirement today and is most disappointing. Assuming this can be remedied, the hotel could be an excellent choice.

"No accommodation in ‘VIP Kingsmill Suite' packages!"
Happiness06242288505, 01 Juillet 2022

Having booked an Andrea Bocelli VIP hotel ‘Kingsmill Suite' package through ICTCC for my father in laws 60th birthday they arrived to be told the package does not include accommodation. The cost of the package was £350pp which removing the cost of a platinum ticket at £165 leaves the VIP package charging nearly £200 for an average lunch and a bus ticket to the stadium! Having made multiple phone calls to the Kingsmill on the run up to the event at no point, even after talking to the desk about our stay with them, did anyone care to mention that no stay was included! No mention of the booking not including accommodation was made on any of the literature sent out. We aren't the only people this has happened to either with a number of other guests arriving and being told the same thing. Very disappointed in both the ICTCC and the Kingsmill selling a very misleading package, birding on a scam!

"Excellent lunch time service for coach party"
Q7106SDpeterl, 30 Juin 2022

I was recently guiding a group of 20 and had pre-booked a 2 course lunch. Timing was critical and we arrived 15 minutes late! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and managed to turn us around effortlessly in 2 hours. The staff were very attentive, making sure that the whole experience went smoothly.

"Amazing!"
721arlynel, 28 Juin 2022

Stayed in balcony room which was amazing and spotlessly clean. So comfortable with a huge bed. Breakfast was equally as good and so fresh. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Not a single negative thing to say about this hotel. Will be back soon. Loved it.

"Choose your room carefully."
536JenniferL, 25 Juin 2022

We had rooms in the Spa Wing, which were perfectly satisfactory, but beware that there is no covered way to get from the Spa Wing to the main hotel. If you want to go to the restaurant or bar, you have to brave the rain and wind. At breakfast in the main hotel, a request for a cappuccino was met with the information that the bar was closed, and it was necessary to explain what an espresso was. It was also the first time in our many travels that we were charged 3.80 each for a second cappuccino at breakfast.

"Faux Hotel Avoid"
964denniso, 21 Juin 2022

Unresponsive staff, hot room, overpriced . It's bad enough to have a 4:00 pm check in time, but we arrived just before 4:00pm and our room wasn't ready. We were invited to have a cup of coffee or tea while we waited. We offered 2 teas, received 1. The we decided to get a high tea service, which was delivered and tasty, but no napkins. With or without the high tea, we were going to be charged for the “ have some coffee or tea while you wait for your room offer” We received our room keys and proceeded to our room with no offer of assistance with our luggage. Our room was large, nice bathroom and bed. Very old furniture, in not great shape adorned the room. We tried to get a spa treatment a few days before, and were advised that there was no availability, but We could contact the other spa on site to see if they could accommodate us. Good hotels don't ask customers to do their work. They take care of customers. We tried 3 times to call the other spa before we got a real person. No appointment available. OK fine. We then tried to call the reception, but no one ever answered. Then we realized our room was not air conditioned, and it was very warm. We inquired at the front desk, and they had to figure out if our room was air conditioned. No was the answer, period. Then as a customer, I asked about a fan, sure, no problem. We were going out and expecting a fan in the room. No fan, no one at the reception. We gave up. Even the WiFi was jiggy. Perhaps as tourists we got second place treatment, but for 256 gbp it was way overpriced for what we received.

"Wedding June 2022"
Robboinverness, 21 Juin 2022

My daughter got married at the hotel last Saturday and from start to finish we had a fantastic day. The staff were brilliant and the facilities at the hotel are spot on for a wedding. The organisation and delivery were faultless. Many of us also stayed the night on the night of the wedding and the bedrooms are lovely. and comfortable. The standard is excellent. We are so glad we chose the hotel for the wedding and the feedback that we have received from our guests supports that. Well done all.

"Clean, comfortable, delicious and welcoming"
Donna F, 14 Juin 2022

I was on a Backroads small group tour, and we were booked into demi suites in the spa wing, which had gorgeous modern rooms, and were spotlessly clean. The concierge staff and buffet staff were friendly, warm and delightful! The breakfast buffet had everything you would want, including fresh fruits, hot dishes (everything to build your own full Scottish breakfast) and delicious pastries and breads. We ate dinner both nights in the main hotel and the food and service were excellent! We especially enjoyed Eric, the restaurant manager, who clearly enjoyed welcoming guests to Inverness. Food was amazing, drinks service was quick and friendly, and the dining room and loynge area were lovely and inviting. Location is great. Just a 10 minute taxi into Inverness City Center. There is a reasonably priced spa at the hotel, offering massage and other treatments all at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Inverness

"The perfect retreat"
Jane C, 13 Juin 2022

We stayed in Garden Retreat room.So peaceful and quiet with the main hotel only a minute's walk away. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean with large bed and comfortable sofa and modern bathroom. The hotel also offers swimming pool with steam room and jacuzzi which were also clean and well maintained. Breakfast had great choice of hot and cold and plenty of it.Definately going back !

"Watchout For the Shower!"
dhubbard26, 06 Juin 2022

Everything everyone says about this hotel is true. It's beautiful and well-staffed. The refurbished bathroom with their new fiberglass shower is the slipperiest I've ever encountered. Nearly impossible to maintain balance. be sure to put a hand towel down before climbing in. They didn't supply a bathmat,

"Amazing customer service"
sarahf123456789, 18 Mai 2022

I arrived at the hotel, having just completed the last leg of the 'Great Glen Way'. Typical of the Highlands, it had rained hard all day and I was completely soaked through. I made a puddle at reception desk. The hotel didn't look like they receive many long distance walkers however they couldn't have been more accommodating. Being a solo traveller I probably had more needs than many: "Emily" looked after me so well, her customer service skills are outstanding. Being exhausted I ordered room service dinner: the service charge is a little OTT at £8.50 but the food was piping hot and delicious, as good as I would expect from a restaurant meal. The hotel is vast and 3 coach loads arrived as I was leaving, but the service was not diminished as a result.

"Baby shower"
V3195GCnatalieb, 17 Mai 2022

The kingsmills hotel couldn't of been any more helpful when I was organising my sisters baby shower. Due to covid we had to reschedule and they were very understanding and managed to fit us in at a later date. On the day the members of staff were so helpful and the afternoon tea was delicious. Highly recommend! Thanks again

"Wedding April 2022- Our day was so special!!"
elouise140489, 09 Mai 2022

I cannot recommend the Kingsmills Hotel highly enough. My now husband and I were delighted with how special the team made our day. From start to finish the organisation, attention to detail and friendliness of the team were faultless. Our family and friends had a fantastic time and all have said they will definitely be back. The wedding packages are superb and the team are so attentive. The Kingsmills is so special to us. If you are thinking of getting married in Inverness- the Kingsmills Hotel won't disappoint. Mrs Gallagher xx

"Nicest hotel staff I have ever met."
VivaLaVida98101, 08 Mai 2022

I don't believe I have ever met nicer hotel staff than we had at this hotel. Every question we had was answered with a polite smile and they suggested many fun things to do with the kids. Their dining recommendations were wonderful. The hotel itself is very pretty with a lot of charm and light. Our rooms were adjoining and were exceptionally clean and well stocked. Ours beds were very comfortable. I was celebrating my birthday and they even brought a special birthday dessert (gluten free!) to our table at breakfast.

"Evening Meal"
TurbanCrumb, 07 Mai 2022

The food standard selection on the menu and service was of the highest standard. The 3year old with allergies was catered for off menu and ww had a wonderful time. We can highly recommend this hotel and we will return.

"Kingsmills: an excellent hotel."
Lwesty7, 03 Mai 2022

We were at Kingsmills Hotel for a wedding. It's an impressive building as you drive towards it. Once inside, it is spacious and clean and the staff are all really friendly and efficient. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our bathroom was lovely with a separate bath and shower. The only thing I could have done with, was a full length mirror. If there was one in the room I didn't see it.

"Fundraising Afternoon Tea"
Elma M, 02 Mai 2022

I work for a charity as Area Fundraising Manager, and we held a fundraising Afternoon Tea on 28th April 2022 at the hotel. The staff could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble. They were all easy to deal with and very attentive. The food for the afternoon tea was lovely. On our event review everyone commented on how good it was. The only negative was parking. The hotel was busy, making it difficult to park. I would, however, hold another event there again but look at arranging extra parking elsewhere. such as the near by bowling club.

"Best Hotel in Inverness"
MartinWilliamSim, 01 Mai 2022

I work regularly in Inverness I also have family in the area and have stayed at various hotels in the city. When booking for leisure I always book the Kingsmill as it is by far the best option, always the best night sleep I get when working away from home and the dinner is superb. Highly recommended.

"Very practical"
clares460, 30 Avril 2022

We had a bungalow room which was very modern and had its own little patio looking on to a grass area, and very quiet. Impressed with this, big modern walk in shower, good amenities in the bathroom and bedroom, Staff pleasant, my husbands meal being fish and chips was disappointing but I had the pork sweet cheeks which was nice. The restaurant was in the conservatory nice and light. The buffet breakfast was not great. When booking out I had been charged a bar bill of bottle of white wine and 2x jack daniels, which was not ours, as we had a coke and tonic water, the reception showed us the receipt of which our room number had been put down and a signature not ours. I am of the view that a guest had either put the wrong room number or done deliberately so someone else paid the drinks bill!!! The manager removed it and didn't charge me for my evening meal.

"Another superb return visit"
wendymN9946WG, 27 Avril 2022

From arriving at reception to leaving our stay was perfection. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and informative. The room was spotless and luxurious, bed was very comfortable, modern bathroom with shower and bath. Super cosy bathrobes. Breakfast was a full plate, freshly prepared, locally sourced and served with a smile, certainly set us up for the day. The whisky bar and restaurant offer a wide variety of food and drinks, a great place to relax and enjoy. The location is ideal, easy to find, within walking distance to the city centre and perfect for exploring the highlands. I visit Inverness regularly, usually on my own, this is always my first choice of hotel.

"Regal stay, but a little out of the way"
Colo_Traveler05, 26 Avril 2022

We stayed at the Kingsmill's for three days this month. As has been noted in other reviews, it is not in the city center and that is either really good or really bad depending upon whether or not you have transportation. We didn't as we arrived by train. The cab service was hit or miss and we were never comfortable on walking to the city center. However, the hotel was just grand. After spending time in Glasgow and Edinburgh, it was nice to have a large room with a nice bath. The rainfall showerhead was wonderful and the room was very clean. The bed was huge and comfy. The meals were all quite good. Our package included dinner on our first night in the Conservatory and it was perfect. Both the buffet breakfast and the menu breakfast were tasty and substantial. All of the staff couldn't have been nicer. We loved the grounds and especially the view of the next door golf course from our little balcony. All-in-all, a wonderful experience and one will will always remember.

"ABOVE AND BEYOND"
Maureen M, 25 Avril 2022

Myself and my wife have been fortunate to have stayed in numerous hotels in the world and have had great service but the service, friendliness, prompt, efficient and personal service we received was above and beyond what was expected We stayed in the Kingsmills club rooms in Inverness and from the moment we stepped in the welcome was excellent from Pamela the receptionist this level of service carried on throughout the hotel staff Nicola in the lounge again showed personal interest and made us feel very welcome I could go on and on about the standards we received from all the staff in all departments from the Spa to the dining room The room was spotless clean and the view on to the golf course was exceptionally The meals were of the highest quality and could not be faulted It just shows that the management team have exceeded the standards on how to employ staff as it showed in their procedures as how to employ the correct staff and the training that they receive I am certainly looking forward to our next visit to Inverness and the Kingsmills hotel Well done and keep up the great work

"Great customer service from a young Scottish team……."
555gavini, 25 Avril 2022

Very comfortable hotel for first visit to Inverness. We stayed in room 22 which was a very good size with terrace seating area outside. The room was very well decorated and whilst some of the furniture was a little worn the en suite and decor was very new and well appointed. Above all what made our stay was the young team of Scottish youngsters who were polite, friendly and delivered fantastic service whether this was Rachel and Emma in the restaurant to Aaran and the bar team. Fab to see an establishment properly train their staff in what excellent customer service looks like……

"Ideally situated for Inverness"
C9567ODmichaelc, 23 Avril 2022

A very well situated hotel that is just 10 minutes stroll to the centre. Our accommodation was a lovely sitting room size. There was a good sized bed, comfortable seats and a good sized table. The wardrobe and storage area could be shut off from the bedroom spaced which helped to minimise any corridor activity. The shower room was well appointed and had a feeling of quality about it. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very professional and efficient. A great stay to start our holiday off.

"Nice stay"
robann18, 20 Avril 2022

Kingsmills Hotel had a lovely and helpful front desk staff. Unfortunately the hotel was full when we arrived and we were not happy with the room we were given. The staff rectified the situation the following day. The breakfast buffet is ample and the waitstaff are eager to please. Location is close to many sites we had on our list to see. There is a lot of parking spaces. Highly recommend

"Good option in Inverness"
Jun R, 19 Avril 2022

The pluses = Parking is abundant and is free; rooms are spacious and well appointed although some furniture look a little dated; breakfast is filling and very good. The only real downside is that it is about a mile outside the city center. So you would need to drive into town or be willing to walk to and from restaurants and shopping. That said, it is an excellent hotel and venue and has excellent spa facilities. If you're ok not being in the middle of town, this is definitely the place for you.

"Never Again!!! Dog kennels as luxury rooms"
Passenger764675, 19 Avril 2022

Stayed here 17 April with my partner and my adult daughter. Booked direct with hotel who offered a Sunday deal on luxury garden rooms . Told they would be next door to each other so happy . Arrived and told to save us from carrying bags a distance it was best to park at back of hotel it would be easier as garden rooms there. Very busy hotel and a lot bigger than their sister hotel 5 star Ness Walk.(which I have stayed in a few times latest being end of March and had great time) Parked up and was surprised how shoddy it looked, and unkept! I could then see their supposed luxury garden rooms in the distance and noticed multiple dogs in these rooms . On entering ours it stunk so bad we didn't even check our other room ! Dog stench! These should be called dog kennels where owners can stay too ! Just awful and my daughter is allergic to dog hair! Dirty net screen hem was the first thing I noticed. Outside area was needing a clean and tidy up too very unkept! Immediately went to reception as no way would we stay in there. We were offered 2 rooms inside the hotel which were cleaner and told the same price . No offer of help with luggage and could feel quite ignored our whole stay. Staff during meal service are very pushed due to such high amount of guests. On checking out a young man asked if everything was okay and when I said we had trouble with our room when we arrived he just brushed it off . Oh really ok ! Defo not for us ! Thought we would try it because stupid me thought their connection to Ness Walk meant a quality break . Never again !

"First class hotel"
Audrey M, 18 Avril 2022

Just home after a two night stay at Kingsmills Hotel Inverness. We had a fantastic time at a first class hotel, first class staff and first class food. The hotel was spotless and the bedroom was great. I would highly recommend it to friends and family. Looking forward to many more visits. Thanks once again.

"Perfect"
4owainm, 16 Avril 2022

Reserved a family room for one night. Room was spacious and clean. Spa facilities and bar/restaurant including complimentary breakfast were decent and all the staff could not have been more friendly to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely stay again

"Really Enjoyable Stay"
LizMathieson, 14 Avril 2022

Stayed 2 nights … one at the start and the other at the end of our holiday. We were in the main hotel and then in the spa centre hotel. Both were well appointed rooms. However the spa hotel room was exceptional in size and facilities. Both nights we ate in the Conservatory Restaurant which was exceptional. Would recommend and hope to return in the future.

"Five Star Experience at Kingsmill Hotel"
MrandMrsStephen, 14 Avril 2022

My Husband and I have just had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay at this gorgeous hotel with our 4 young children. Our room and all the facilities were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, we have been very well looked after and would recommend this hotel to all.

"Very Disappointed"
Go73022, 10 Avril 2022

My wife and I booked this on a deal before Christmas. It was a present for us both and we liked the idea of staying in a 4 star hotel. We booked a Classic King for 2 nights bed and breakfast. On arrival at the hotel we were asked to walk across to the opposite side of the carpark (laden with our bags) to the annex building which is apparently the Spa resort. This was not easy as my wife has mobility issues and we were not offered any help. We believed that we had booked a room in the main hotel but didn't think there was anything we could do about it at this stage. There was a lot of noise from the road and this went on most of the night as we were close to the Hospital. There were some black marks on one of the pillows and a chocolate chip (presumably for the biscuits provided) stuck to the headboard! Thank goodness it was chocolate! There were also a lot of crumbs under cushions on the sofa. Not the 4 star housekeeping that you would expect! We phoned down to the reception to book dinner for 6.30 but the lady on reception was busy and said she would phone back. By the time we went down for dinner we realised that she had not booked a table for us. We were told that there should be a seat in the Lounge so we went over to the main hotel where no-one had any idea but we did manage to get a seat. The menu in the Lounge was very small but we were not needing anything fancy so we ordered Fish and Chips and a Burger and chips. I have to be honest, for a 4 star establishment the food was terrible! It was a frozen burger pate. I can get a homemade burger at my local pub! The Fish and chips were very poor. The breakfast on the first morning was a buffet. Again, not what I expected from a 4 star. The second morning it was table service which was better. So not really any consistency and a buffet just didn't feel right and again was difficult for my wife with her mobility issues having to get up and down in order to get food. Overall we were very disappointed, especially since we were shoved into the annex building which was totally separate from the main hotel. This was supposed to be a 4 star Christmas present!

"Golden wedding anniversary weekend"
moragk749, 09 Avril 2022

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights on our 50th wedding anniversary. I just want to thank the whole team for making it special. From our welcome , the card in the room and the surprise dessert with a congratulations message hand piped . Every member of the team we met were lovely helpful and all done with genuine friendliness. The room and food were excellent. Thank you very much

"Great stay in the Garden Rooms with the dog."
Storyteller567827, 09 Avril 2022

This is the second time I've stayed here with the dog and it really is great, the staff are very friendly to us and the dog and very helpful. The food is excellent too. We'll definitely be staying at the Kingsmills Hotel again.

"Wow! From start to finish!"
Linda G, 08 Avril 2022

Just want to say thank you on our return from a 2 night stay! Our first greeting was with Ruben, absolute gentleman! Lovely young man! Room was stunning, beautiful balcony, soft furnishings lovely too. The cleanliness was impeccable, no complaints whatsoever. Also a shout out to Joni & Erin serving breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out their way to make sure to stop, and say good morning. Housekeeping staff absolutely smashing too (sorry, we never caught their names) but again, so friendly and nothing too much trouble. Will most certainly return and have already recommended to friends and family. Keep up the good work.

"Nice hotel"
Rangers9, 08 Avril 2022

This hotel is an excellent place to stay. The room we were allocated was huge with lots of storage space. Lovely large toilet room and spotless clean. Only slight disappointment was the water pressure was very poor on the hot water tap, not much more than a trickle. The check in staff were very nice as were all the staff we encountered. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good indeed. Breakfast is a buffet style and also very good quality. As I wasn't wearing a mask, the waitress in the morning asked if I was exempt and I told her I was, she then asked if I wanted a sticker to wear so I could be identified. Made me realise how the Jews must have felt during the war. So I politely declined the offer Our first stay at this hotel and I would highly recommend it if you want quality accommodation.

"Review from a disabled point of view"
peediequine, 07 Avril 2022

First to say that the staff were wonderful. All our queries and niggles were answered politely and efficiently. I am in a wheel chair following a stroke 2 years ago and so had requested an accessible bathroom. My review is geared towards the accessability aspect of the hotel. We had a room in the Club wing. Your brochure says it has direct access from the car park, which it does. It does not say that there is a steep slope to get to the car park. By the end of our stay my husband was exhausted pushing the chair up and I felt uneasy when going down the steep slope. I was told there were 2 accessible rooms in the Club wing and 1 in the main hotel. Your brochure talks about 6 rooms. Your website shows a picture of a garden room but we were told there were no accessible bathrooms in that wing. The bedroom was not always disabled friendly The sofa was so soft and low that I could not get out of it without my husband pulling me, and the single chair was the same - not very disabled friendly. Conversely the bed was so high that I stood on tiptoe to be able to shuffle onto it. Your brochure said 670cms - I don't know if that is standard disabled height but certainly to high for my short legs. I found the bed quite comfortable as I always bring a mattress topper, but my husband found it hard. We were told we could have asked for a mattress topper but there is nothing in your information to say that we could have done so. The bathroom was fine for a wheelchair but could have done with a verticle grab rail in the shower so I could pull myself up from the stool. A disabled person finds a chair is more use than a stool which has no arms to hold. There was confusion as how to turn the shower on with the emergency reset button next to the shower pull switch. A note on the wall would have saved a query to reception, as we did not wish to touch that switch as we thought it was the alarm. The alarm was next the toilet and tied up out of the way. The Arran aromatics were lovely but the dispensers not disabled friendly to use with one hand. Breakfast was delicious and the service great. We ate in the annex so did not have to go to the main dining room. My husband enjoyed dinner very much and again the staff were lovely and helpful. I found the choices a little limited and would have liked more vegetarian and chicken options to give more choice. But that was my problem as I have chewing issues. I did not like being taken backwards down a steep ramp in my chair in front of the whole dining room. Would I come again - yes certainly as the staff were so helpful and I would know which bedroom to avoid. They are the reason I gave it 4 rating.

"A great place to spend a week"
kevinish, 06 Avril 2022

An excellent hotel to spend a week. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, quiet and clean. Large, modern and very clean bathroom with a tub and separate shower, plenty of hot water and (unusually) large counter space. The bed was quite comfortable, with a room safe and plenty of power outlets for us tech types. The hotel's lounge and restaurant were quite good, and I'd recommend the breakfast package. The service was outstanding; friendly, helpful and very responsive. The only reason they didn't get a 5 was they are popular with weddings and events, which makes for some noisy groups. So, a 4.8. Definitely a great stay.

"Lovely hotel and staff"
Marie B, 05 Avril 2022

Stayed here for a night on our Ruby anniversary on our way to the Isle of Skye, Had an upgrade to a very nice room overlooking the golf course in the spa building which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was in a nice bright and airy restaurant with a good choice of food that was well cooked and well presented. Helpful staff, especially the young chap who helped us get into our suitcase after we had left the keys at home (sorry I didn't get his name). Will definitely be staying here again for longer, on our next visit to Scotland.

"Fantastic hotel"
Hmclean69, 01 Avril 2022

Beautiful hotel from the outside and certainly not disappointed on entry. From moment we arrived staff were friendly, courteous and so helpful. Nothing was too much for them. Cannot speak highly enough of them all. Especially Ricardo, Nicola and Erin who we got to know over our stay. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and cleaned to perfection. Food was lovely. All in all it was perfect. Thank you so much to each and every one who made our stay so special.

"Another Great Stay"
Yvonne W, 30 Mars 2022

Fantastic stay at this hotel. Food, rooms and service all great but where they really excelled was their customer service - their staff are amazing- nothing is too much trouble and they genuinely go out of their way to make sure you are having a great stay. Looking forward to visiting again in the summer.

"Excellent hotel"
djlm68, 30 Mars 2022

First stay here since we had our baby boy. We had an upgraded room which was great, A travel cot was provided and it was excellent. Busy restaurant serving tasty meals. Live piano was an added treat. Breakfast was very easy to enjoy. Friendly service from Angela. We took our boy for his first dip in a pool. Water was a lovely temperature so distress was minimal. Easy checking in and out with friendly service at every turn. Highly recommend and hope to visit again.

"Return Visit"
Michael C, 29 Mars 2022

We returned to the Kingsmills for an overnight stay on Saturday 19th March, we chose Kingsmills on this occasion as we had really enjoyed a stay here a few months earlier. Check-in was efficient, our room was a high standard and the hotel very clean with a good vibrant atmosphere. Reception were friendly and efficient when organising a taxi for us in the evening. Despite this we did end our stay on a slight negative note, which was a first for me at the Kingsmills as I have been coming here for various things over the years (overnight stays, meals when I lived in Inverness, work training days). On the morning of our departure there was no hot water in our room, it was just lukewarm at best. This prevented either of us managing a proper shower that morning. When we mentioned this on checkout we were informed that this was an issue they were aware of and it was due to be fixed in the coming days. I am aware these things happen but warm water is a basic standard for any hotel, never mind a 4 star one. So I was surprised when nothing was offered due to the inconvenience such as not charging us the extra £5 for our room (Room rate £105 and we had a £100 voucher), or a voucher for a drink/coffee in the bar or even use of a spare room to allow us a proper shower. Despite ending our stay on a slight negative note we will still very likely be staying at the Kingsmills (or their sister hotel Ness Walk) again when we are back up in Inverness. This is because everything else during both this current stay and previous stays has been a very high standard.

"Great hotel"
george t, 27 Mars 2022

Fantastic hotel, very efficient and friendly staff, good food. No demands for exemption certificate as one of our party is exempt from being face wrapped We stayed in the garden rooms which are perfect if you want a wee bit of outside space.

"Excellent room and quality setting !"
Michael F, 23 Mars 2022

We stayed for one day and enjoyed an excllent evening meal and breakfast. The conservatory restaurant is lovely, and the large lounge and bar area very relaxing and comfortable. Plenty of parking, and the staff were extremly warm , friendly and polite. Our meals of steak, venison and fish were first class.

"Recent Visit"
2807irenemac, 21 Mars 2022

We visited the Kingsmills Hotel for a second time this weekend. However, we took our dogs with us on this occasion and had a lovely Patio Room which had access to the gardens which was great with the dogs. The service we received from staff was lovely and we were able to eat and drink in the front lounge with the dogs which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend the hotel as it has a lovely comfortable feel and you feel well looked after.

"Absolutely excellent as usual!"
islandlad7, 20 Mars 2022

Stayed on the Sunday night £69! Bargain and that's with breakfast in the morning. Brilliant food and brilliant facilities I used the swimming pool and jacuzzi, the house keepers I met in the corridor were very pleasant and spoke and smiled. My room was very large and a comfy bed and modern bathroom no complaints. Very good night sleep so quiet must be thick walls. I got checked in early at 2pm didn't realise it was a 4pm check in bit of a strange late time that's the only thing I could talk bad about.

"Great location, spotlessly clean and well run hotel."
DS8469, 19 Mars 2022

From arriving - great car park, pleasant and slick check-in. Spacious clean room. Walked into Inverness - 15 mins safe, relatively flat walk. Good sleep, awesome breakfast in a very pleasant dining room. Easy, fast check out. No complaints whastsoever. Good choice to start the NC500.

"HWIC - a curling competition."
jamesmcconnellm, 17 Mars 2022

The curling teams stayed for a week and the hotel services were first class. Rooms were clean and the meals were good. The best part of the stay are the staff who are excellent, being friendly, helpful and efficient.

"Great event hotel"
alastairkennedy, 15 Mars 2022

Another great night at the Dan Murdoch Strictly Inverness fundraiser event. Attentive and friendly staff, excellent catering and great overall facilities. It all helped create the right atmosphere for a very successful fundraising evening and everyone had a wonderful night. Well done to all at the Kingsmills Hotel.

"One of our favourite hotels."
998paulau, 10 Mars 2022

We have stayed here a few times now and are always amazed at how wonderful it is. The staff are so friendly and cheery, and cannot do enough to help you, and make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The rooms are spotless, spacious and beautifully decorated. They have everything you could need for your stay. The food is simply amazing. Fresh, well cooked and presented. I cannot recommend The Kingsmills Hotel highly enough if you are staying in Inverness. The hotel has plenty free parking, and also free WiFi. Only a 15 minute walk from the city centre, it is a perfect base to explore Inverness and the surrounding area. 10/10.

"Great Family Break, Some aspects of the restaurant service need attention"
e30elaine, 08 Mars 2022

Visited as a group of six - four adults and two children, hotel was very clean and the majority of the staff attentive and friendly . The husbands and kids used the pool and reported back that everything was spot on. The only let down for us was the service in the lounge bar and restaurant - drinks were mixed up and we gave up trying to get service at the bar on the Sat evening. Ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was perfect apart from one guests meal (Club Sandwich with grey bacon that appeared to be off) mentioned to the waitress (not as a complaint as just suggested that she mentioned to the kitchen) - she then cleared the table and did not return to our table - when we were the only ones left in the restaurant area we gave up on ordering anything else and left of our own accord. Overall a lovely stay and we will return - was a wee bit let down by situation in dining room as nobody was rude or making big deal but felt we were ostracised slightly for pointing out one of the meals was inedible.

"As excellent as ever"
Davidpsion, 06 Mars 2022

As a frequent visitor at the Kingsmills pre Covid, but not much over the past now 2 years and heading to meetings near Loch Ness, I thought I'd treat myself and stayed the night of 3 March. So glad I did- many of the same staff welcomed me- same friendly yet effective service- same immaculate rooms- same excellent supper at the bar- great buzz throughout the hotel. I'd booked in on line- easy checkout and invoice copy emailed to me. What more can a guest ask

"Afternoon tae"
13gillm, 05 Mars 2022

Booked afternoon tea online as a treat for a friend who's having a hard time. Despite being able to make the booking for 1.30 (inc being asked if we wanted the veggie option) when we arrived we were told afternoon tea didn't start until 2.00. The milk was curdled and made for lumpy tea. To be fair, when this was pointed out they changed the cups and milk. The sandwiches were disappointing - the white bread either defrosted quickly or been left sitting for too long. The choice of cakes were nothing like those shown in pics on the website: millionaire shortbread, flapjack, slice of ginger loaf (I think). The scone was very good though , with plenty of jam and cream. We have had afternoon tea in a number of places and are used to having a choice of teas that are freely topped up without us having to ask. To be fair this was also £3 or £4 cheaper than what we usually pay and that difference did show. Staff were lovely and friendly.

"Highly recommend"
HonestReviewerWand22, 04 Mars 2022

We just got back from our stay at the Kingsmills Hotel for our friend's 30th. Here are the pros and cons of our stay: + Breakfast was lovely - buffet style serving cooked food, toast, yoghurts, a range of cereals with dried fruit and little muffins (£16.50 per person, which is quite expensive though) + Rooms were clean and attended to daily - nice size bath with plenty of hot water + The service was exceptional - every member of staff was friendly, and I want to give a special mention to Rhys (really sorry if I've spelt your name wrong) and Hannah. Hannah - thank you for all the restaurant recommendations, they panned out well ! Rhys - you're simply a legend for providing us with deep fried Mars bars (went above and beyond customer service); perhaps you could add it to the menu?! + Drinks were reasonably priced at the bar, and the service again was terrific - just really friendly + Very good value for money - we stayed off season (March) for £60 a night for the room which included the leisure club facilities (swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym) + The gym had lots of equipment - you could do a full workout here + Showers within the leisure club facilities were great, with a very nice jacuzzi too + Short walk to the city centre (10-15 mins) + Parking available on site - The shower in the room wasn't the best, with the pressure being a bit low and the temperature temperamental (too hot or too cold, no sweet spot) - Swimming classes for kids were going on in the leisure club pool - would have been nice to have known about these, as although we could still swim it wasn't as relaxing as it could have been I would highly recommend this hotel if you're wanting to explore Inverness, or for work, as it is great value for money. Please don't let the couple of less positive points put you off, these really are minor (I just wanted to point them out for full transparency). Customer service really affects a person's stay, and for being so friendly and accommodating we want to say a massive thank you - it made our stay.

"Highland hospitality"

"Fantastic, Amazing, Wonderful, Recommended"
123sleigh, 27 Février 2022

Took a party of 18 family members for my 60th Birthday celebrations. best decision ever. This hotel is unique, they just continuously go the extra mile, and nothing ever appears too much to ask. From Cynthia, the Groups Co-Ordinator who simply couldn't stop offering to help and make sur everything worked perfectly, to the front desk, Assistant manager, Restaurant staff and dedicated servers for our private meals, nothing was missed. we had a few very young kids who could be noisy and messy but this didnt bother them either. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a great time in Inverness. Well Done !

"Wedding"
177ashleighp, 25 Février 2022

We booked the Adams room for a family meal for 7 after our wedding. Food and staff were fantastic and kids well catered for too. The Adams room was perfect for what we needed. Also stayed the night in the kingsclub which as usual was fantastic, lovely room with patio area and good choice for breakfast in the morning. Will be back again soon.

"Genuinely struggling to find anything to criticise - will definitely use this hotel again"
67Babararacucudada, 25 Février 2022

For some reason I was not expecting this hotel to be as good as it looked! The only slight issue was that the dinner menu was not particularly vegetarian friendly. I mentioned this to the waitress and she sorted it by rummaging around and finding a vegan menu. I was not sure how the chef would react to being asked to prepare something off the nights menu (and possibly from a menu he'd never seen before!) but I needn't have worried. The food arrived quickly and was excellent. The room was better than expected with the biggest bed I'd ever seen along with an addition single bed. Everything was clean and the shower/toilet very nice. I am genuinely struggling to find any to criticise. I think the standout was how friendly and helpful all the staff were and gave off a great feeling of enjoying being in their team. (although the breakfast staff seemed to be a bit stressed). The early breakfast sitting was really useful as a business user.

"A two night holiday"
Jonny_Kevlar76, 23 Février 2022

Got away for a short break and were superbly looked after. The staff are smart and friendly without being stuffy. Special shout out the breakfast staff who delt perfectly with allergy issues and housekeeping who even at 9pm sorted out our request easily. A lovely warm pool and a relaxing time for young and old. Thanks, we'll be back.

"Excellent stay"
fussy_weegie, 21 Février 2022

We just had an amazing stay at the Kingsmills in the Kingsclub. Our room was beautiful and we had a lovely patio looking onto the golf course. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the walk in shower had excellent water pressure We didn't eat dinner in the hotel but did visit the cocktail bar when we returned from dinner and it had a lovely atmosphere and the cocktails were good quality but quite expensive compared with most other places with the same quality The breakfast in the Kingsclub was wonderful with so much choice in the continental followed by a very tasty and good quality cooked breakfast. The staff on reception and the breakfast staff were wonderful and nothing is too much trouble We will be back again

"Another enjoyable stay"
claredY2125BE, 20 Février 2022

This was our 4th visit to the Kingsmills and first time in a garden room. The room was comfortable and well furnished- the only thing i felt was missing was a hairdryer. Would recommend one of these rooms in the summer when you can sit out on the privare patio. We made full use of the leisure centre and it was my first time using the gym equipment. Only food we had this time round were sandwiches one lunchtime and I was pleased to see that my favourite smoked salmon & cream cheese ones were still on the menu. The hotel has a large comfortable lounge area where we enjoyed a few drinks. Staff as always very polite and efficent and I hope we can return for another visit soon.

"Great hotel with great staff!"
Q1444BPabigails, 17 Février 2022

My partner and I visited as a treat for our anniversary and we were delighted with this hotel, so much so that we are going back in February! We stayed in the spa area of the hotel, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try out the swimming pool as we only stayed one night. Pam on the front desk is an asset to the business, she was so warm and welcoming during any interaction. You can tell she loves her job which makes for an enjoyable atmosphere for guests. We ordered room service which arrived within 15 minutes and tasted absolutely gorgeous. All in all, a great little getaway during these difficult times.

"Excellent Stay!!"
Bryan-Scotland123, 11 Février 2022

Had a two night stay with our dog in one of the lovely, spacious garden rooms. Staff were all very efficient, friendly and helpful which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. We will definitely be back!

"Excellent hotel"
carinarisa, 09 Février 2022

This hotel was a last minute find but so happy to have found it, will 100% return if in the area again. The room was very spacious and and the shower is amazing! The drinks area was nice with great cocktails. Lovely hotel would recommend for sure!

"Very strange stay"
Adventure617880, 08 Février 2022

We stay every year at the hotel and yet still feel like we shouldn't be there! We arrived early so went to the bar to have a drink before our afternoon tea, we. Were shown to a table and waited for someone to take our order, The member of staff behind the bar asked 2 members of staff to help him get an order taken and the reply from the young gentleman who was asked first was not professional especially as it was said right over us, I then said oh I'm not sure if I should ask for a drink if this is what we will be told, the gentleman from the bar came round and took our order and he apologised for the other member of staffs attitude, we brushed it off as a lot of hospitality are having an extremely hard time. We then proceeded to have our afternoon tea which was pre booked as the bubbly afternoon tea however we are still waiting for the Prosecco although we weren't charged for the Prosecco it was a treat for my friends and I didn't want to cause an issue so I left it. We were checked in to the hotel after our afternoon tea and the girl on the desk with dark hair is so pleasant and friendly that she made us feel perhaps we shouldn't feel out of place, as we had not had a good start to our stay we decided to go out for a few drinks rather than sit at the bar, and on our return we ordered some room service, it took 3 attempts to get this correct and boy we were made to feel like it was our fault rather than a communication error amongst staff. On our second day we came back to the hotel to freshen up before going out for dinner as we just did not think that we would stay to eat in the hotel due to how we were feeling, we tried the shower and there was no water and same with the tap so I called to reception who said that they would send maintenance to have a look, after an hour and no one coming to the room to see what the issue was I went down to reception to ask if there was an update as we were waiting for someone to come and have a look and no one had communicated anything to us, I was met with a hostile attitude when I was told that there is a refurbishment being done, I said that's completely fine but why was I told someone would come and look at the issue if they already knew that this was the problem, I suggested that perhaps they should update their guests to keep them in the loop as to not being left sitting wondering why our request to have someone look at it was being ignored. So many of the staff are amazing however the one girl on reception and the boy who was unable and unwilling to help his team member perhaps needs to put on a face if they don't genuinely care about their customers, it has made us feel quite uncertain if we wish to return due to being made to feel like we were less important than other customers.

"Fantastic."
kathleen g, 07 Février 2022

We arrived on Friday Afternnon around 3.30 and we're greeted by Hannah at reception who checked us in very efficiently and quickly with also advising us of times for breakfast where the pool was and the Kingsmills club Spa. We reached our luxury room which was fantastic warm and welcoming. After the long drive from Aberdeen we were tired and opted for dinner in the restaurant. The menu was first class and we both enjoyed it. The breakfast was terrific with lots of choice for everyone. We had Spa treatments on the Sunday and they were both amazing. Every single member of staff made us very welcome and did their jobs with pride and great customer service, nothing was too much. I will be back as its the nicest Hotel I have stayed in.

"Wonderful visit"
jansB8738HL, 06 Février 2022

We had a wonderful visit to the Kingsmills Hotel. The food was delicious. The staff were excellent. Very memorable visit. Looking forward to returning again very soon. Thank you for looking after us so well.

"Lovely hotel"
nics508, 02 Février 2022

Good location, easy 10 minute walk into town. Really spacious rooms which were spotless and beautifully decorated. Spa facilities were a nice treat. Breakfast was really nice too. Friendly & helpful staff

"Fantastic"
Neil_Lovatt, 30 Janvier 2022

Our annual family get together at the start of the year and the Kingsmills is as wonderful as it ever was. Superb accommodation, brilliant food but it's the staff that make the difference, they all go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable.

"Lovely hotel, can't wait to go back!"
Happiness43041961452, 30 Janvier 2022

We loved this place! Room in the main building was great, very spacious with a gorgeous en suite and view over the garden. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, hotel is a 25 minute walk into the city centre. The lounge is lovely to sit in at night with great drinks service. We can't wait to go back!

"Wonderful Birthday Experience "
dizzy_traveller, 29 Janvier 2022

We came for my mum's 70th birthday for afternoon tea. There were just the 3 of us (due to restrictions at thr time) and it was fabulous. Mum was made to feel very special. Id organised a cake and balloons but the hotel went an extra mile and decorated table with confetti and extra balloons also giving mum a beautiful birthday plate of desserts. Staff were out of this world. The afternoon tea it's self was stunning, lovely sandwiches, freshly baked scones, macarons and so many other cakes! I don't have a sweet tooth but I loved my scone! The cakes which were left were boxed up and to take home. Thanks so much to the kind and friendly staff for making it such a lovely afternoon❤

"Afternoon tea"
tommys203, 28 Janvier 2022

We were shown to the conservatory and Kelly looked after us. We were given sandwiches, scone and a variety of cakes, tea and coffee. It was lovely and plenty of food as this was a present from family. We would highly recommend it.

"Can't get any better than here!"
NEHwood, 27 Janvier 2022

It's been years since we have been to Inverness, and whilst this was for a very sad reason (a friends funeral) we knew that, based on reviews, friends feedback & from when we last lived here 20 plus years ago, this was the place to stay. From the moment we checked in, we have had nothing but excellent service, very friendly staff and a great experience. Our room is beautiful, with high quality products (Arran), a huge room well decorated and very comfortable. There is a kettle, with complementary tea and coffee making facilities, with free shortbread & bottled water. The whole hotel is modern, well appointed and very stylish. As well as being within walking distance of the main town centre and just off the A9 motorway, the location is ideal for exploring all areas of Inverness-shire. We didn't (this time) try out the leisure complex or the evening dining, but we will be back! What will stand out for us has been the helpfulness and friendliness of ALL the staff! Thank you Mr Barman for the lone of your bottle opener! Nicky Hollywood

"Great night away….."
Kars1978red, 27 Janvier 2022

Last minute decision for a one night stay somewhere and picked The Kingsmill Hotel, Inverness. Contacted the hotel for various information the night before, staff were knowledgable with what I required to know then I proceeded to book online. Warm welcome on arrival, had the 3 course lunch menu which was wonderful, lovely spa facilities, and nice relaxation in the lounge with a cocktail in the evening. I can't comment on the breakfast as I was booked in bed and breakfast however due to a migraine I was unable to think about breakfast so I can only assume it was as lovely as the lunch! Great stay and can't fault anything so highly recommend a stay here

"Wonderful stay"
Catherinerutherford, 20 Janvier 2022

My husband and I stayed here in January 2022 and it was amazing. The staff were exceptional so friendly and helpful and could not do enough to help you. Our room was incredible and the very large bed was amazingly comfortable. The hotel in spotlessly clean and one of the best places I can say I've had food in. The receptionist was so helpful at checkout. Thank you for an amazing stay we can't wait to come back.

"Family Break"
Weefella9, 20 Janvier 2022

Booked a family trip for a special birthday, and have to say the hotel and staff couldn't of been better. Great location, exceptional reception team, special mention to the concierge, so friendly and helped with booking taxis and restaurant recommendations! Kids loved the swimming pool. Family rooms are brilliant, clean and spacious. My wife had a treatment in the Kingsclub and it was amazing. Thank you to the hotel and team for making it a great family break. Will definitely be back

"Amazing staff"
Autumn S, 17 Janvier 2022

We went to Scotland for our honeymoon and this was one of the four hotels we stayed at. The staff were very accommodating and helped make our stay wonderful! Though it wasn't open the first night, we were transferred over to the kingsmills suite for our second night and it was beautiful! Our view was wonderful and we enjoyed having our breakfast on the terrace.

"Brilliant staff, could not be more helpful"
peterwQ3793FL, 10 Janvier 2022

We spent a long weekend at the hotel to celebrate a 70th birthday. Twelve family members and a dog in four rooms. The rooms were comfortable with a huge main bed and very nice bathrooms. The star feature is the staff, they are very attentive and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them, from advising a vegan couple, to giving the dog treats they were great. The hotel has a spa and a good pool area. Breakfasts were really good, and the vegan couple praised the choices for them. We definitely would recommend the hotel and we will be returning in the future. The hotel took sensible Covid precautions and these were not intrusive.

"Hogmanay Four Night Package"
collettemanning, 06 Janvier 2022

From the moment we walked through the door of the hotel we were greeted by smiling endearing staff, who made us so at ease and welcome. We had booked a standard room which was more than adequate and spotlessly clean. We attended the meet and greet afternoon tea which was an amazing start to our four night stay, we were given a full itinerary of all events to choose from, from there on it was a fantastic stay. Due to restrictions table service was in place. Once again all the staff excelled They catered for our every whim. From breakfast buffet afternoon lunch and evening meal, the food and service was impeccable. The evening entertainment had us toe tapping due to no dancing allowed. New Years Eve was extra special, the service the food the entertainment made our New Year so special, we can't fault anything at all. The staff pantomime on New Years Night was to behold. Well done to all you wannabe actors, you made it so much fun!! . From our travels which included The Far East, The Caribbean, Most of Europe, many places in America and numerous Royal Caribbean Cruises, we can honestly say that the the entire staff at the Kingsmills Hotel Inverness takes some beating. Well done to Craig and his wonderful team.

"4-night Hogmanay Package"
C9791QTmiker, 06 Janvier 2022

What a brilliant experience. Hotel beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. Amazing home from home atmosphere with great service and daytime activities to keep us occupied and outstanding entertainment in the evening. All staff very professional, attentive and fully customer-focused. The Hogmanay gala dinner was especially memorable.

"The Best Hogmanay Yet!"
Q5650NXedwardm, 03 Janvier 2022

I had a fantastic time bringing in the new year at the Kingsmills Hotel with my family on the four-night Hogmanay package. The hotel was beautifully decorated and welcoming, and there was a fantastic party atmosphere in the hotel on every night; the ongoing Covid restrictions did not hamper our enjoyment at all. The management struck the perfect balance between keeping everyone safe and making sure that everyone had a great time. The food was of outstanding quality, with the Hogmanay gala dinner and the New Year's Day brunch being particular highlights. The entertainment on all the nights was highly enjoyable, with some exceptional local musicians showing off their talents. I was very impressed with how thoughtfully the staff put together an exciting and fun programme of Covid-safe activities over the course of the four days. We will undoubtedly be returning next Hogmanay if not before!

"Warning for those booking in the current climate"
jomunro9319, 03 Janvier 2022

Booked to stay on the 23rd through Hotels.com however we were unfortunately identified as covid close contacts and were awaiting PCR results. Staff were pretty unhelpful as we hadn't booked directly through them - Hotels.com contacted the hotel directly and the Kingsmills would neither refund or change our date to stay. As people who have visited (and recommended) the Kingsmill many times I would be very hesitant to book again after this disappointing experience. Thought this review would be a useful warning for those booking in the near future.

"Above and Beyond…."
Karen N, 03 Janvier 2022

Just returned from the 4 night Hogmanay package - can't praise the staff, food and activities enough . Everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time and the meals were outstanding. Thank you to all of the staff on all levels who gave up their NY to look after us so well. Really appreciate it ! Hope you are all Resting now!

"Lovely hotel"
stephenmZ6936YC, 29 Décembre 2021

We stayed here for 5 nights over Xmas. Rooms are a good size especially the garden room which we were in for one night. Our other nights were in the Kings club which is a few yards away from the main hotel. The room we had was a first floor one with a balcony area looking over the golf club. There is a spa and pool area for guests. We never used this as we jad too much to do.Breakfast was perfect and is served in the kings club for people who stay there all other guest are in the main restaurant. Lunch, dinner and afternoon tea is served in the main hotel. The bar is also over there as well.Food is excellent we had a few dinners and were not disappointed. We also booked the Xmas lunch which was really well organised and again the food was excellent. The hotel is perfect if you want to explore the loch Ness area. I must give a special thanks to the club staff who helped to get our passports to the airport when I realised I had left them in the safe. We will definitely be returning again in the future.

"Relaxing warm atmosphere"
K3824IKfionap, 21 Décembre 2021

We enjoyed two nights in a warm safe and relaxing atmosphere. It was lovely to be welcomed by some familiar faces, despite the mandatory masks. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, well done to all this involved. It was so easy just to come downstairs and enjoy dinner which was delicious. Thank you everyone and I hope we can get back to see you soon. Allan and Fiona

"Not the best"
409MichelleH409, 21 Décembre 2021

We stayed here on a recent 2 week road trip where we stayed in a different hotel every night. Unfortunately this was our least favourite stay of the trip. We found the property on Booking.com and checked their own website as well. As it looked a better deal on their own site we booked direct and we thought we were getting the room for £72 and breakfast for £9, so total bill of £81. At check in it transpired that we had only selected breakfast for 1 person and we could add another breakfast for an additional £18!! We asked them to show us where we should have amended the booking and, as they admitted it wasn't very apparent, they agreed to add another breakfast at £9. We would have been happier if they had just removed the 1 breakfast as it was the worst breakfast of our trip. Certainly not worth £9 and definitely not worth £18. Upon entering our room we discovered we had a disabled room with emergency cords everywhere. We requested to be moved to another room and we were then given a twin room which housekeeping then converted to a double for us. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable, well appointed and clean. The hotel is easy to find on the outskirts of Inverness and has ample free parking. Even though the reception team sorted our issues we won't be rushing back here.

"Always a lovely stay"
cottagegarden16, 16 Décembre 2021

We love this hotel, it never fails to provide a comfortable stay. We had a large room that had been recently refurbished. It was specious, clean and smelt fresh. Perfect for a relaxing stay. Added bonus with arran aromatic toiletries Buffet Breakfast was very tasty, a lovely selection of good, restaurant bright and clean, staff helpful and friendly

"Party night"

Great night at the Kingsmill Hotel on Saturday. The food was fantastic as was the atmosphere! Superb service from being greeted at the door to getting covid checks to table and bar staff. All possible Covid measures in place. Well done to the whole team!

"Christmas Dinner and dance"

Saturday night at Kingsmill hotel can only be described as a wonderful success, The welcome was warm..(all covid checks in place) service fantastic and the food delicious..Torredon (The band providing the entertainment) kept up the party atmosphere the whole night Well done everyone involved

"Christmas Party night"
98duncc, 13 Décembre 2021

This is now thew 4th year in a row where we have enjoyed the Kingsmills Christmas Party night and stay. Great night with great for, great services and brilliant entertainment. We are all uneasy with Covid, but every possible measure was in place.

"Lovely hotel, welcoming staff"
GS1975, 10 Décembre 2021

Our first visit here and it was a pleasant stay. Th hotel is lovely, cocoon room in the Kingsclub was great, spacious and the bed was massive. Bathroom had bolls both a shower and separate bath. Very clean and well presented. The bar area is very nice but could be doing with being a fair bit larger as we struggled to get a seat. The conservatory restaurant was really nice, food was good if a little pricey for what it is, but no complaints. Breakfast was delivered to room and was fine. Would def stay again.

"Beautiful Afternoon Tea"
Nessie2011, 08 Décembre 2021

Visited Kingsmills Hotel Inverness today with friends. Lovely relaxed setting and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Recovering from an ankle injury and on crutches, this was a fantastic place to catch up and enjoy Afternoon Tea. Easy parking and not too far to walk all on one level. We were allocated a table at one of the sofa areas with plenty of room allowing me to keep my leg elevated on a stool. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive ensuring we had top ups of tea and coffee as they passed. A gorgeous selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Would highly recommend….what a great way to spend your afternoon.

"Not as good as I thought"
JetSetter03, 07 Décembre 2021

The room was lovely, and staff was friendly. But our overall stay was disappointing for the price you pay. Breakfast was not worth £16, it wasnt very nice at all and not much of a selection for continental. I would recommend getting breakfast out. We stayed in the spa part of the hotel, but most of the spa facilities are in the main hotel, its only the massage area that is in this section, but this wasn't too much of a problem. The spa facilities could be used by all including children. If you are coming here for a couple retreat, then you won't experience the spa facilities as perhaps you would like to. This did spoil it a bit for us. It wasn't until towards the end of our stay that I noticed one evening going to bed that there were stains on the pillow, which had been washed out but could clearly see they were there. For the amount you pay, I would NOT expect to see this!!!! Very disappointing. Parking can be difficult when the hotel is busy and can't guarantee you will get a space near to the side of the hotel you are staying in.

"Brilliant Xmas Party Night! "
Fatbill911, 05 Décembre 2021

We enjoyed a fantastic part night for our work Christmas party. Brilliant night! Attentive staff and tasty food! Such a great laugh and I have said probably one of the best Christmas parties we've had! I would certainly recommend and worth the price.

"Another great visit"
Iain M, 02 Décembre 2021

We had another great stay at the Kingsmills Club in a Retreat Room. We stayed for 3 nights and the staff members who were outstanding were PAM at reception who was so kind and friendly it made her a star. Ricardo in the restaurant was a real gem. He was on the ball and never "in your face", he was very attentive and managed several tables like a true professional . Peter was also very friendly and attentive and well informed on various topics. The food was superb and varied. The only down side was road noise as our room faced the golf course (604) with the road to our left. We will return but not to that room

"A special 50th anniversary dinner expertly managed"
billyrennie, 28 Novembre 2021

We chose Kingsmills Hotel For a special dinner to celebrate 50 years of an Association of specialist farmers. Our planning was expertly supported and guided but Aileen Tullock who answered all our queries and accommodated several off beat requests. The event itself was a huge success. The room was tastefully dressed, IT equipment was in place and service throughout the evening was professionally but sympathetically managed by Jo. The food was excellent. The entire evening, its preparation and execution, was managed by a really efficient team of pleasant, helpful staff. Many of our 80 participants commented favourably on our choice of venue for the event and we would have no reservations in recommending the Kingsmills Hotel to other organisations.

"Only good things to say"
AlastairS741, 19 Novembre 2021

We had a two night stay in the kings club at the Kingsmills hotel. Our room was beautiful with a great little bedroom for my son just off our main room. The swimming pool was warm and not too busy, breakfast was well executed and tasty but Pam on the reception desk was definitely the best part of our stay. Warm and friendly she needed to be praised for a wonderful job. Thank you all, we'll see you again!

"Keeps getting better!"
graemeduncan48, 17 Novembre 2021

The staff are fantastic and the food is superb. Special mention for Ruta in booking, Reece and Hannah in reception, Louis and Angela at breakfasts, Kevin Alison and Peter for attention in restaurant. {and the banter!} The consistently high standards are a credit to the staff and management.

"Urology Training Meeting"
KarinaMacWilliam, 16 Novembre 2021

Aileen and her team went out of their way to make our urology training meeting a success. The rooms in the function suite were of a great size and all the equipment was of a high standard. The food was good too. We will definitely use the Kingsmills again.

"Large event-charity Moonlight Ball"
Y9577TVmaryn, 16 Novembre 2021

We held a Ball for over 200 people for the first time since the pandemic. The team at the Kingsmills were first class on the day and worked tirelessly to ensure the evening went without a hiccup. The food was excellent and the friendly hardworking staff were amazing. Thankyou!

"Weekend Away"
DaveR36, 15 Novembre 2021

We stayed in one of the garden rooms which are separate from the main hotel building. Ideal if you want a little bit of extra peace and quiet. The rooms are a good size with a comfortable big bed, small sofa and desk. His and hers sinks add a touch of convenience at bedtime and the fantastic rainfall shower was the icing on the cake. We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on the food but the restaurant was very busy so it must obviously be great. Didn't speak to many of the staff but the girl who checked us in (sorry, didn't catch her name) was very friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again when we're back in Inverness.

"Return visit but this time to the excellent Kings Club"
Brian M, 11 Novembre 2021

Although I have stayed at this popular hotel on several previous trips to Inverness, this was the first time that I have stayed in the outstanding Kings Club facility. This is housed in a separate building across the car park and has its own Reception. A very welcome "wee dram" was offered and accepted at check-in which was a pleasant experience. All my personal records from previous visits were immediately accessed which I find both efficient and re-assuring. There is a modern lift available for all floors and I was soon in my magnificent room with a giant bed, comfortable furniture and well designed work desk. One small defect was the complete absence of coat hangars in the two cupboards but this was quickly remedied by staff. I also found there was no choice of tea so the Earl Grey packets always carried in my sponge bag came in handy. The bathroom featured a walk-in shower but disappointingly no visible anti-slip mat or wall mounted safety handles. This proved difficult as the floor tray became dangerously slippery after using soap. I would ask Management to treat this as a serious H&S omission for immediate attention please? Kings Club users are able to have breakfast Continental or Full Scottish at the small ding area by the entrance. The latter was first class with delicious local sausages and black pudding plus bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomato and eggs fried on request. Great start to the day. I will certainly opt for the Kings Club on my next visit.

"Fine hotel with excellent hospitality and service throughout"
DoodleNTonks, 11 Novembre 2021

We had the pleasure of staying at Kingsmills three times within 12 days, as a base for other travels. Each time we were in a different area of the hotel and all were excellent. Very comfortable, spacious, and clean rooms. The service was excellent during both breakfast and dinner service and the food was very good. The breakfast menu was extensive and plentiful. Especially outstanding was our experience with Lee, the concierge. He was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and exceedingly kind. His presence and assistance made our stay perfect!

"Highland hospitality at its finest!"
robertsF8625UE, 08 Novembre 2021

We were warmly welcomed to the Kingsmills by Hannah on Reception. We checked into our cosy Garden room which was spotlessly clean and a lovely retreat to relax in and overlook the gardens. There was a lovely atmosphere in the hotel and the staff couldn't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. The MacLeod lounge was the perfect spot to enjoy some drinks prior to dinner and Hazel looked after us wonderfully. The food in the Conservatory was incredible along with the service from Charlene. Many thanks to all for making our trip one to remember.

We had 2 days here, what a treat. The room(210) was warm, comfortable and clean..Great housekeeping team..Thank-you Gwen. Recepton staff..helpful, kind, nothing too much trouble. First impressions count, they sure know their job. Food very good both in restaurant and lounge. What a lovely atmostphere. Our first visit here but not our last, we have found a hotel that has everything. We had a power cut ( not the hotels fault) second night..Thankyou Ali for keeping me safe on the stairs. Comfortable bed, great sleep

"Wonderful Venue for your Special Event"
Y871HJtonyj, 01 Novembre 2021

I have just Organized a Special Dinner for over 150 guests in the Hotel and from the Management to the most junior staff all were a delight to work with. From the initial planing stage to the event everything ran seamlessly, the food and service was superb and our guests had nothing but compliments about the evening and that in my books is what we all strive for. I would highly recommend you consider the Kingsmills for your special event....

"Sunday Lunch - mmhhhh!"
C Y, 31 Octobre 2021

Very friendly and efficient staff - from the front door right into the restaurant. Lunch is good quality food, cooked/presented well - we really enjoyed the fish and slow-cooked venison today. Fantastic value for money. Now that we are local, we will definitely make this a regular treat.

"Enjoyable but disappointing in a few areas!"

Stayed in a Kingsclub room which was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice with a reasonable selection of continental and hot food options. Reception and dining room staff at the Kingsclub were very helpful and friendly! Unfortunately the leisure club area is not just extremely dated but really not clean! The area around the swimming pool is in serious need of a deep clean! You are required to access the changing area by walking through the swimming pool area with outdoor shoes on! This is extremely unhygienic! We did not hang around as we felt very uncomfortable there. The sauna was also not in working order. I forgot my toothbrush and asked reception if they had any as most of the bigger hotels will offer these things on a complimentary basis.. not at the Kjngsmills .. I was charged £1.50 for a cheap toothbrush! I've never known it! Both nights we had major issues trying to order 2 glasses of wine. Waited about 40 mins and had to ask again!!

"Clean, quiet, good facilities"
Fran S, 26 Octobre 2021

When we arrived they told us they had 'upgraded' us to the neighbouring block across the car pk which I was really wary about. Our room was nice, clean, spacious with a complimentary whiskey at the desk and fudge in the room. Lovely touch. Quick swim before dinner, jacuzzi and steam room, although sauna out of order. Pool supplied towels, plastic bags for wet clothing We booked dinner in the restaurant, bit pricey but fantastic fillet and their potato gratin was exceptional. Merlot wine delicious and friendly waiting staff. Superb. Thought the foyer area for breakfast would be drafty but not at all. Table service hot breakfast and continental choice. All excellent. Ample parking. Easy on line check in and out. Thank you

"£I57, 1 night and sadly very average."

Arrived at 15.45 check in is at a late 4pm, its sister hotel is 3pm. Room was not ready for us and 4 or 5 other couples waiting. Booked a retreat room which is advertised as tranquil an escape and woven into the landscape where you can watch the sunrise. Our room 506 faced an 25 foot bit of concrete with a very busy main road at the top. All we heard was traffic expecially first thing in the morning. No balcony or view to the golf course just a concrete wall 12 feet in front of the patio doors for the same price someone has to have a private veranda with a view across a beautiful golf course. Complained straight away, basically told tough you should have requested a balcony. The advert for these rooms does not include a description of these 3 rooms at the side. Rooms themselves were lovely. Went over to the hotel for a drink one member of staff serving poor women was trying her best but many waited for service then drinks. An elderly man sat in a stool borrowed from our table at the entrance to the bar (not allowed at the bar) trying to catch someone to get a drink. Had one drink waited 20 minutes for another and left. 3 staff at the dining area chatting away on and off for the duration because they only had 2 tables of 2 people to serve. No one taking the initiative and distributing staff. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. This is about my 6th stay (we are local and I work in Inverness) and I was so disappointed this time. I'm coming shortly for an overnight with my mum and I'm now really nervous about it. Breakfast was brilliant and Pam on reception was lovely and so apologetic for the room, I was grateful for that. My husband said he would never come back. Btw a better selection of local ales would improve my chances of persuading him, Cromarty would be good or Windswept along with the established Black Isle Brewery. See you in 10 days please don't make we regret it.

"Note check in time and some way from central Inverness"
jonesclive, 24 Octobre 2021

we arrived early using overnight sleeper service, were able to leave bags at the hotel. Check in time advertised as 16.00,. Note reception will not deviate from this time and could have been more understanding. Rooms were of a good size and clean. Some of the furnishings looked tired . Breakfast was as expected. Location is some way out of central Inverness so taxi essential. We did walk from the station to the location which takes around 25 mins, but note via a very steep incline. Hotel part of larger complex which we did not use.

"Superb Afternoon Tea"
lornasD7884NN, 24 Octobre 2021

We recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at the hotel. The staff were excellent, most welcoming and attentive. Lovely warm, relaxed atmosphere at the hotel. Bubbly, sandwiches and cakes were all sumptuous and totally delicious! Most enjoyable afternoon tea as a belated (due to Covid) 80th birthday celebration for my Mum.

"We'll be back!"
pfikmcculloch, 22 Octobre 2021

Our party of four stayed in the new spa complex for two nights. Most impressed. Quality of bedrooms and overall standard of accommodation and facilities was very good. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast both mornings with a good range of alternatives on offer to suit all tastes. Evening meals were very well presented, tasty and served efficiently. Special mention of how friendly we found the staff, particularly the receptionist in the Spa complex who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We'd highly recommend a stay here.

"Not up to scratch"
fussy_weegie, 20 Octobre 2021

We were upgraded to a Kingsclub suite on check in. The room was nice but it was not luxurious as I would of expected The bed was huge and super comfy however the TV was old and the remote control didn't work very well There was no milk so had to request from the lovely receptionist Dinner in the main hotel was a disappointment the fries were soggy and the club sandwich I got was also soggy and I left most of it although wasn't asked when table was cleared The cocktails were very expensive and only 3/4 full in the glass Had a Cosy night sleep but breakfast in the morning was shambolic and waited 25 for tables to be cleared and set up. The continental had ran out of most things and the coffee and tea were luke warm and we didn't get milk despite requesting it several times My husband didn't have time to eat his bacon roll before it arrived and my eggs Benedict was not hot The eating area is in the lobby and there was only two members of staff on so it was a lack Of staff that was the problem This was a special occasion and feel let down by what I thought would be a lovely stay The only reason it's not a poor star rating was that the receptionist and waiting staff were doing there best

"Staff, Room & Food"
BR1007, 20 Octobre 2021

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We booked the garden room as we have a small dog. The staff were really accommodating and very friendly. I would like to mention Hannah Frame who went out of her way to make us feel at home. Also Shona who went out of her way to arrange breakfast table area for eating with our dog "BeBe" We stay at the Kingsmill Hotel many times and we are looking forward for our stay at Xmas. Thank you.
