Best Western Plus Hotel Goldener Adler

We enjoyed our stay at the Goldener Adler Hotel located in the heart of Innsbruck. The staff was accommodating, our room was well appointed and we had lovely views out to the Alps. Gracious, historic and the breakfast was lovely! We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is inside a building that's over 600 years old. They had interesting decorations and vintage wall arts. The locations is superb. Right in the middle of old town and everything you need is close by. The staff were so nice. The only hassle was that the rooms needed more cleaning and the room keys were old heavy metal keys that we would hand to the receptionist before leaving.

A beautiful family run traditional hotel on the edge of the pedestrian zone of Innsbruck Old Town. All the staff we met during our stay were friendly and helpful especially Aimée on the front desk who went above and beyond recommending restaurants and making reservations for us. Our room was spotlessly clean (208) and lovely and warm. It was on the corner of the hotel with four double windows making it light and airy. We loved everything about the Goldener Adler and look forward to returning in the future.

As many before have noted, this is as central as you can get in Innsbruck--from room 209 I could actually see the goldenes Dachl. The deluxe room I had was very spacious, as was the bathroom (with two sinks) and WC. Internet was very fast, and the room was warm and cozy in February. I had booked last year with booking and did not have a room with a mountain view, so I emailed them and asked if I could have one if booked directly with them--their email was affirmative. So imagine my disappointment when I still did not have a mountain view. Still, this was the only blemish (the reason I paid for a deluxe room directly with them WAS to get that view) but overall it was a very good experience.

Charming and historic hotel, with a staff that is warm, welcoming, and helpful. Honestly, can't say enough good things about the staff here. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Excellent location, with everything we needed within walking distance. We visited the bar during our stay and loved the charm. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant, and can't say enough good things about our meal. The venison was the special that night, and it was excellent! We enjoyed a nice breakfast at the hotel every morning. All of the rooms are different. We upgraded our room to a deluxe room (room 205), so that we could have a room without carpet. We also had a large, walk-in shower. We had a nice view of the mountain from one of our windows. We slept with our windows open and enjoyed the crisp air. Things to note: Upgrading to a deluxe is worth it (in my opinion) to gain the extra space in the room. Ask for no carpet if you don't like shag carpet in your room. Ask for a room with a large shower if you need more room.

The Goldener Adler is perfectly positioned on the edge of the pedestrianised Old Town and just a 15 minute (€16) taxi ride from the airport. It is perfectly positioned to walk the Old Town and local restaurants, and just 5 minutes from the funicular to the "Top of Innsbruck". There are many local restaurants and bars in the vicinity (and not forgetting the hotels own restaurant which our guide recommended and we ate at). We stayed 3 nights and booked a deluxe room (205). The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and featured a large walk in shower. There is a lift to the second floor. The hotel also has a novel scheme where you can forego a room service, for drinks at the hotel bar! The staff were very helpful and informative and the decor was perfectly "Austrian". Breakfast was €22 and whilst we enjoyed ours, we felt it was more than we were prepared to spend every day. The hotel bar was small but atmospheric! Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel has been on my wish list for years because of its history and central location. The building and staff did not disappoint in any way. The staff were exceptional and superb service was provided by Daniel and all of the staff on the front desk, and especially Philip in the restaurant. We stayed for 7 nights and recommend booking places in the restaurant to try their amazing Austrian menu of schnitzels and Tiroler Gröstl. We will return.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and within walking distance of numerous attractions and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and a good size but the bathrooms were small. The Golden Roof is a short walk away and the alley ways in the Old Town are great for wandering. The funicular to Nordkette is a 6 minute walk.

Wonderful old world experience with modern amenities in an amazing location. Incredible breakfast including fantastic fresh raspberries I'm the mountains in January! Great local wine list and excellent dinner. Very nice room.

We have traveled through Austria, Germany and Switzerland many times and about 12 years ago I chose the Golden Adler by chance. We have stayed there many times. They are not only our favorite hotel in Innsbruck but all other hotels in Europe we have stayed in. We always look forward to a visit there.

It's not a five star room, but it's cozy and functional. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful. The wine cellar and Restraunt are perfect for a night or morning in. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance and nice views from the windows.

Had an outstanding 4 night stay at this wonderful, old world hotel, that looked and felt nothing like a typical Best Western. The staff was excellent and incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was abundant and delicious. Room was very nice and good size. The restaurant was popular and served great meals. I definitely would return to this hotel.

There is literally nothing negative I could write about this hotel. I'll admit I was at first nervous to book here, simply because of the name "Best Western" - which isn't the most upscale chain of hotels in the States. This hotel? It's in a class of its own. The hotel is located smack dab in the middle of the Old Town area of Innsbruck, steps away from the river and everything else there is to see and do in Innsbruck. The building dates originally to the 15th century, but it has updated since, and is supremely comfortable and quiet. We had a spacious room, that despite being near the lift, was perfectly and utterly quiet. In a time when many hotels seem to be skimping on every possible amenity, this hotel did not. Thank goodness, it has a kettle for tea/coffee, wardrobe for clothes, space for luggage storage, actual bottles of shampoo and lotion (lotion!), A/C, comfortable beds and, oddly but nicely, a "regular" pillow and a buckwheat pillow, a little pad of paper and a pencil. You know, many of the things that hotels used to provide as standard but now find ways to get around. It's funny how these things make a difference. The best part, on top of all this, is the decor. It is unique - each room is different. The hallways are filled with all sorts of interesting art and memorabilia. We highly recommend taking the stairs at least once (there is a comfortable and quick lift). The stairwell is full of all sorts of interesting stuff to look at. The hotel also has an interesting offering. For each day you forego housekeeping, they will provide you with a cocktail. there is an attached restaurant that spills pleasantly out in front of the hotel. We didn't eat there as the food was mostly traditional Austrian and we are vegetarian, but the restaurant was always busy, so we guess the food was probably good! Also, front desk staff was lovely and always helpful with advice. Thank you for the best hotel stay of our trip!

Stayed here for 2 nights early Sept. Booked in Dec 2022. Our room 4th floor felt a bit attic-like...but fine. Problem - it smelled of smoking/musty. Spoke to an amazing chap on reception. He moved us to a lovely room which appeared to be no fuss. The staff is very helpful. The ladies at breakfast were charming. The staff really look after you. I would definitely stay in this beautiful hotel again. The eggs at breakfast were the best I have ever tasted!

We had a great experience at the BW Goldener Adler for our 5-day stay in Innsbruck! Pros: - Unbeatable location that is central to many attractions - Super friendly and knowledgeable staff that helped us with parking passes, recommendations, and any questions we had - Beautiful building with lots of history but with clean, updated rooms - The bed was really comfortable and the story of the "stone pillows" is an interesting one ( regular pillows are there too :)) - The huge rain head shower was outstanding - Working AC ( you are locked out of the controls on this but it kept the room cool for sleeping which was all I needed) - Breakfast was really good with eggs and coffee they make for you but it is pricey so I'm glad we saved it for our last day and were able to check out other cafes in the area Cons: - My husband did not like that the bathroom door was a glass slider style and not a real door Some people have complained about parking but it was stated in numerous places that parking/driving is not allowed in the old town and that is not the hotel's fault. It is a short 3-5 min walk away and we didn't have any problems. As you can see, way more pros than cons and we would be very happy to stay here again if we return to Innsbruck.

This is an old hotel full of history and tradition where historic personalities have stayed - Goethe comes to mind. It is located in the old town literally steps away from the Golden Roof. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the service superb, especially during breakfast.

I think we've never experienced a nicer welcome than we did at this hotel. The whole staff are absolute lovely, Aimee is a star! We extended our stay both because we liked Innsbruck very much, but also because the atmosphere in this hotel was so nice. Two things: we're not really into heavy, typical Austrian food. In that way the restaurant didn't really suit us. We also had quite a lot of laundry taken care of. Quick service, but the way the clothes came back was a little disappointing. Except for two shirts the rest came inside out, and not particularly nice folded. One of my trousers had shrinked lot and was delivered with massive wrinkles. In spite of this we give the hotel itself top score; very nice building, nice, modern room and again: great staff.

Richly historical hotel, spend time before your stay to learn the history. Perfect location. Rooms and staff are impeccable! Staff has great attention to detail. Rooms are quite large and quiet. A must stay location.

The hotel is very nice with a super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very well located in the old town where almost everything is that you want to see. The breakfast was very good with many options. We only stayed in Innsbruck one night and if we return we will definitely stay here again.

This hotel will give one the experience to treasure. Old-world charm with all modern amenities, cozy rooms with views to the mountains, hallways that show the heritage but maintain the homeliness- all in all a memorable experience A special mention of the reception staff , particularly Ms Aimee and two gentlemen ( apologies for not getting their names) were mist helpful and friendly and treated us like guests to their own home. Such staff members are assets of this even otherwise wonderful property! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to visiting again

Liked · location is amazing right in the heart of old town and there 15 minutes after getting out of airport . my room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Also it seems they have very good soundproofing in bedroom , the Christmas markets literally on the street outside however I could hear nothing once inside.

Everything was beautiful and well kept. Also, everything was within walking distance, which was great. The room and the bathroom were very spacious and clean. Even with the crowds at the Christmas markets the rooms were very quiet. We loved our stay and would recommend it highly.

The atmosphere, cleanliness, accommodations, food, location, and service were all top-notch! The bed was a little too soft for my comfort and appears to have contributed to some back pain, but my wife loved it.

Although not explicitly mentioned by the staff we received a double upgrade to a luxury room being a platinum BW member. Also had dinner in het hotel restaurant which was delicious. Breakfast was also served well

This is such a lovely, historic hotel in a perfect location to enjoy Innsbruck. The staff are extremely professional and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable. The only problem is parking which is several blocks away which can be difficult for the elderly.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Room 101 was fantastic! Cleaning was the best,breakfast was fantastic. We having been travelling Europe for 4 weeks and this was the best hotel we stayed in. Look no further. Stay here! And I'm fussy so if I give this review believe me it's great. Special shout out to Daniel at the desk! He was an impressive young man and so helpful and had lots of laughs with him! If ever back in this region we will 10O% stay here. Lady at the breakfast area was so friendly. Omelette was delicious! I miss the place already!

I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. It's centrally located around lots of restaurants and shopping. The staff was exceptional with addressing our needs. We had a fabulous time here. I'd highly recommend staying here.

My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary by travelling across Austria. We stayed here July 17-20 2022. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is perfect right in the heart of the old town and less than a kilometer walk from the train station. What makes this hotel stand out however is the staff. They will go out of there way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. In out instance they assigned us the best room in the hotel with a corner suite with a view of the river and mountains. Knowing that it was our anniversary they has a personalized card wishing us a happy anniversary. The hotel is not a modern building and that is part of its charm. They pack in an incredible amount of service and hospitality for the four stars they receive. They may be part of the Best Western chain, but by no means does it compare to Best Western in North America. The room was spacious, clean and packed with every amenity you could want. Of course if something is not to your liking, the family will go out of their way to accommodate. I recommend eating at the restaurant or just having a drink on the patio and watch people go by. I would 100% stay at this hotel again, and am glad we changed our reservation from the Adlers Hotel a more modern experience. My thanks to all of the staff who made the first leg of our anniversary trip memorable. Along with the natural beauty of Innsbruck and the hospitality of the hotel we could not have asked for anything more.

This hotel, in business since 1390, is a complete gem. It is located in the heart of the old city, easily accessible to many restaurants, shops, and public transportation. But what makes it truly wonderful is the staff. Everybody with whom we interacted was wonderful, particularly Lena at the front desk. Our room was very comfortable, airy, and bright, and quiet with the windows closed. They have mastered the art of hospitality.

This hotel is at the epicenter of Innsbruck for tourists - right at the entry to the historic center with its own top notch restaurant, we arrived to music playing outside, a packed patio of revelers eating and drinking. Historic - originally from the 1300s - it is nevertheless sparking clean. Great service made the stay.

As reviewed by other travellers the hotel is located ideally for strolling in the old town. I did not have breakfast there but had excellent dinner with local specialities. If not travelling by car, it takes approx. 15 min by foot from the central railway station. What I just wanted to point out is that the hotel has no lobby at the reception where you can usually find a couch. Moreover, the room does not have a minibar. All in all, my stay at the hotel was satisfactory.

When we arrived by car we had a bit of a walk to the hotel but the directions provided by the hotel were spot on. Helpful as we don't speak German. Friendly and informative staff at the front desk, very nice room with a view of Old Town and the included breakfast had many excellent choices. We would definitely recommend staying there.

Location is the best possible. Personnel is helpful and friendly. Room is very comfortable, and the bathroom is well-equipped. The restaurant has fresh and tasty food. Breakfast is very varied with both hot and cold dished.

Managed to get a room here after a horrendous experience at another hotel round the corner and the sense of relief on entering this welcoming hotel was immediate. The lady on Reception at 10.15pm was so very kind considering I had just rung 10 minutes before sounding stressed! Our room was spacious and traditional. The hotel exceeded my expectations and I will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

The location, the service, the history - everything about this place is special!!! The reception staff was comprised of the kindest, most accommodating people I met in all my travels around Austria. Everyone from service staff to housekeeping was so friendly. They were wonderful!! The inside is eclectic and the complimentary breakfast is delicious. The location simply can't be beat and I can not wait to come back!

This is a very historic hotel in a fabulous location in central Innsbruck. The exterior of the building is worth a good look as it's very interesting. The floor that our room was on also had very interesting paintings and items of historic interest although the room itself was updated, clean, fairly large, and very nice. We didn't try the restaurant. We opted not to take the breakfast as it was fairly expensive but we found breakfast places not too far from the hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The only disappointment was it was quite foggy and overcast while we were there, with some rain, and it wasn't until our last day that it cleared and all of a sudden we could see the beautiful mountains surrounding us. That was a bonus!

Can't say enough nice things about this hotel! Location is fantastic! It is near the River, shops , restaurants, bus stops, you name it! The rooms are delightful and very reasonable. I think we had a double with a pull out sofa for our son and there was plenty of room for all! The rooms also have air conditioning and even music you can play in the bathroom. Tub/shower option. The staff spoke great English, were friendly and helpful always! Breakfast came with our reservation and was wonderful! Hot and cold options! Sadly I don't think I took any pictures of the hotel itself but I'll add pics of things nearby. Book today before they get full! Book direct. There are a couple of pictures of the breakfast included here. There is parking nearby if you have a car that they will discount for you and if you arrive early, they are happy to hold your luggage for you!

Wonderful Stay I stayed here recently for four nights on a business trip. It was a very good stay. Although my room had a view of small courtyard and looked directly into another room, the room was terrific. The air conditioning worked wonderfully, the bed was comfortable, the water pressure in bathroom was great and the bathroom was a good size. The only issue was a high step to get into and out of the shower. There was desk with sufficient room to work as well. I just wish there was a mini-fridge as advertised, but the space in my room where there was one in the past was empty. The room was spacious for European standards. The free WI-FI also worked well. There was hardly any noise to be heard either from outside (it may have helped that my room faced an inner courtyard) or inside. The staff was super friendly and ready to assist whenever. The location is great as well, located in old town gives you access to many restaurants and bars as well at charm to old town. The stay meet my expectations for price and value plus added more in history and uniqueness.

I was booked into Goldener Adler when staying in Innsbruck for a work conference. I was immediately impressed with its antique beauty, but it was the service (desk, room cleaning, breakfast, etc.) that ended up impressing me most. Some hotels with this sort of history, looks and prime location would just coast on that. But someone in this hotel is doing something right, because the staff were universally friendly, helpful. No up charges for particular services (e.g. printing, some food to go instead of breakfast when I needed to leave early), extra care in providing for my needs because I had trouble walking, and just friendly. This place is a find!

Excellent property and service. Special thanks to receptionist Carmen. She helped out of her way to plan for our travel in and around the city. Also arranged for the Innsbruck card. Hotel is beautiful and rooms are well maintained. Would definitely recommend this property. Location is also very nice as it is in the heart of the old city.

We'd booked by accident the Golden Krone ( too awful for words or to stay!) then by sheer good fortune and in need a just decent room for the night booked a Best Western - The Joy of arriving by chance where we had wanted to stay in the 1st place was wonderful. Delightful staff, fab room & one of my favourite restaurants 'within' the Hotel 10/10

We had a marvellous stay in this immaculate family run hotel in wonderful Innsbruck. It manages to be extra luxurious for a four star hotel, combining the best of the old and new, with the addition of friendly and efficient staff. Every room is named after a famous person who has stayed there, through 4 centuries. My husband would have liked to be in the Camus room (410) or Sartre (404) but it was not to be…but I'm sure, if you ask…!

The Best Western Hotel in Innsbruck is a great hotel lying in Herzog Friedrich Straße 6 in which everything is excellent and thus, in my opinion, nothing can impede anyone from having a very pleasant stay there. The pertinent business is run in a stunning edifice dating back to the fourteenth century. It's a very solid building constructed, as it used to be then, with no hurry, in such a way as to offer the utmost comfort and well being to its occupiers. Both the outer façade and the interior of the hotel building are beautiful. Outside its landmark and charming architectural style are apparent. Inside the corridors are wonderfully bedecked with ancient and valuable pictures, furniture, tools and machines which absolutely contribute to create a stupendous atmosphere. When walking along the floor corridors one may feel as if he were in a museum. It's an amazing impression worth to be taken into consideration. It's a peaceful place. At least, I hardly heard any noise in the room which I stayed. I had especially requested a calm room and was allocated room number 401. My expectations were fulfilled. I could rest and sleep very well. It's not a very large room but in it one has everything needed. It's very comfortable, particularly the bed, whose mattress has the necessary toughness in order that a good rest is assured. The breakfast which is available at the hotel restaurant is very good and abundant, so that one can manage after that to keep on until dinner time and therefore devote all the time betwixt one meal and the other to visit without interruption some of the manifold places which are interesting from a cultural viewpoint in the wonderful city of Innsbruck. Everything offered for that meal is of the utmost quality. The croissants and the other pastry are sometimes still hot on account of their recent manufacture. The rest of the food which can be had for breakfast is likewise good and tasty, especially the fruits. The only negative point in that room is the music which one is obliged to bear, most of times of a poor quality, what is worsened by its high volume. It's very disturbing and prevents one from understanding some expressions from someone with whom a talk is going on. Therefore, if there were no music in the dining room at breakfast time, it would be perfect. The other meals served in the restaurant referred to are also delicious. Once I had dinner there and I enjoyed that meal very much. All the staff members are extremely kind, friendly and helpful in the hotel concerned, especially the ones working at the front desk as well as the waiters and waitresses at the restaurant. The latter, for instance, behave with an exquisite kindness, thus paying attention to every single detail, and always ready to satisfy the customers' desiderata. Besides, the conversation with them is very interesting since, apart from being very attentive they have usually a high cultural level. It's a real pleasure talking with them. In addition to that, they wear the traditional Tyrolean dress, in the same way as the ladies working at the front desk, what makes them very attractive from an aesthetic point of view. The hotel lies in the historical center of Innsbruck, in a very quiet street, where there is no traffic from 10 o'clock onward. Therefore it's very agreeable to sit down at the hotel terrace in that street, under a portico, while having a drink and contemplate the buildings on the other side of the road or the walking of people going on in the street. The hotel finds itself at a short distance from the Goldenes Dachl, St. Jacob Cathedral, the Hoffburg and other interesting places of the city. The Best Western Hotel is therefore a very recommendable place to stay during a sojourn in Innsbruck. It's quiet and comfortable. That hotel is a gorgeous place to stay, what may no doubt make anyone increase the enjoyment of being in the said lovely city. I stayed there at the end of July on my way to Croatia, and I was so marvelled that I booked again there for a two-day stay on my way back home.

Location, location, location!!! Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel staff was beyond helpful, friendly and professional (especially the front desk). The interior with its various antiques was beautiful. We had a very nice sized room, a deluxe double room. However, we did not have a view of much but an interior wall. We drove our car to Innsbruck. The hotel parking was difficult to locate. I suggest adding some information to the website regarding where to park. The hotel did offer a reduced daily parking rate at a nearby car park house.

The location of this hotel is brilliant, literally in the heart of old town Innsbruck. The hotel is incredibly old, so has lots of charm about it but as it is in such an old building, it does not have any of the familiar 'new hotel' conveniences such as a spacious foyer etc. I'm not bothered by this, but if you are looking for a

I have always found the Best Western Plus hotels to be wonderful and this was no different. Amazing value in Old Town Innsbruck. Awesome town, restaurants and rail system nearby along with the infamous river. Very clean, stylish, comfortable and an amazing price. Very friendly staff that also spoke English which helped. Thank you!

We stayed 4 nights here. We had 2 rooms—1 for our teenaged kids and 1 for us. The room price was very reasonable, especially for what you get. The location was amazing—in the heart of the old town and steps from the Golden Roof. We stayed during Christmas week, and the market stalls were right outside the door, the huge tree steps away. We could hear the brass band from our room. The accommodations were excellent. The breakfast and dinners were also delicious. They even had gluten-free bread for our kids who have Celiac disease. We could generally find meals that were GF-friendly, but our kids are mild, so a bit of flour in a sauce doesn't wreck them. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again.

One of the best experiences I've had at a family-run hotel. First the obvious, great location in centre of Innsbruck, historic on the outside with modern comforts in the guest room. Second, and very important, exceptional customer service by the staff. The hotel team (including the restaurant) were genuinely welcoming and made me feel they valued my presence throughout the entirety of my stay. Outstanding! Finally, they have invested in soundproofing the windows and doors of guest rooms. It is located in a beautiful historic building. I had an external facing room and the windows kept the outside noise to a minimum. Further the guest rooms are shielded from internal hotel or restaurant noise via the use of double doors. Exceeded expectations! STAY HERE!

I have frequently booked this hotel in the past years whenever in Innsbruck because of it's wonderful atmosphere, excellent meals and warm welcoming staff. Now, in Covid times, they still provided me a wonderful experience added by detailed and well thought safety processes. The location was great, rooms were ok, a bit too small for 2 adult and their loggage but very clean.. The menu of restaurant might be improved and the staff during dinner was not so friendly and/or patience. the breakfast was very good and a lot of choices.

The hotel was very comfortable, the location is ideal for the old town, shopping and travelling up the mountains to the north, hotel-rate parking is close by. All staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious and generously-sized. The breakfast was typical hotel buffet. We would definitely visit again.

We truly enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location is perfect for touring Innsbruck or for catching buses to the ski areas. It's absolutely charming - very old but also with all modern amenities. The people at the hotel were so helpful and friendly, and breakfast is delicious. I'd happily stay there again.

Hotel was nice, clean, and super cozy. Rooms are well equipped and space is comfortable. It is well located in the old area of Innsbruck, just where the markets are installed and the touristics places. People was helpful, and the breakfast was delicious!

The personnel was very kind, the room was clean, the atmosphere was cozy, the breakfast was high-quality. The only downside was room size, which was not very spacious. Location was perfect, directly in the center of Innsbruck.

Our second trip to both Innsbruck and the Goldener Adler was fantastic. The front desk staff was attentive and helpful and even helped us leave and check out at 5am! The place was quiet and stately even with the New Year's Eve celebrations going on. The new hotel bar was great and kudos to the staff who contacted me prior to the stay to see if we wanted to attend the special dinner on the 31st. The dinner on New Year's Eve was amazing. Our next trip to Innsbruck will certainly find us at the Goldener Adler,

Unfortunately the booked room had a strong bad smell (sewer?);teh receptionist immediately checked it and, with many apologies, she offered an other room with an upgrading free of costs.Excellent service.

We were there over Christmas. What a wonderful friendly hotel. Comfortable room, delicious food and incredibly helpful staff. The hotel is in the best position, right in the centre of the old town, the Christmas market was fantastic.

We stayed at Goldener Adler for 3 nights at end of December 2019. We could not fault the Hotel at all. Our room was fabulous - spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfasts included excellent choices and high quality products. The staff at the Hotel were extremely polite and helpful. They helped us out immensely with information regarding local sights and train and tram information.

This was a third trip to Innsbruck. The last two times where during the summer, this time I arrived on Christmas. The hotel is a bit of a trek from the train station....if you have luggage or are not good at reading maps, take a taxi (about 10 euros)...otherwise, expect a 20+ minute trek.. The hotel is just inside the northeast corner of the pedestrian only zone....but that means it is close to almost all the museums, all the interesting shops and many of the sights of Innsbruck. This is not a luxury hotel....but it is a very fine place to stay. The hotel itself is not large, but within its walls it has a jumping wine bar and a very fine restaurant featuring 'typical' Bavarian fare (read: sausages, meats and leaf vegetables such as cabbage)...advance reservation, especially on weekends/holidays, a must. The mix of rooms in the hotel ranges from a few "cozy" rooms (i.e. small, but adequate) to larger rooms (no suites). The rooms are all fine though the deluxe rooms are both more spacious and in better positions. The beds are goo, the room furnishings are good and the bathrooms have good space and everything works well. Breakfast is served in the restaurant off the entry/lobby....there are a good selection of meats, cheeses, fruits and breads plus the staff is willing to accommodate requests. The hotel is certainly historic.....the building goes back to the Middle Ages....but the current configuration has all the modern conveniences without losing the character of the public spaces. Yes, there is only one elevator, but there is also a great staircase with interesting things hanging on the wall (read: animal heads). A really distinguishing feature of the hotel is the friendliness of the front desk. It is a very small lobby/entry area, but the people manning the front desk make you feel like you are in the most gracious space you can imagine. They are very friendly, very capable and anxious to help.

A great hotel and location BUT the restaurant NYE dinner - failed to accomodate my seafood allergy after repeated and constant reminders. The waiter became rude and abrupt when I wouldn't take the seafood course. Admittedly the next morning after I complained a partial refund was given but it still took the edge off a expensive night $295AUD per couple.

Great location just steps from the Goldenesdach and the river. A very helpful staff plus a excellent restaurant. The food was lecker and service on par with much more expensive eatery's. The rooms quite large and nicely appointed. The entire hotel was steeped in Tirol tradition and ambiance a real feeling of gemutlichkeit.

Though this hotel is under the brand “best western”, it is not at all like an American version of the chain. It's a beautiful rustic hotel in the centre of old town. A great location to walk to the main attractions, including the golden roof, cable car to the top of Innsbruck/Alpen zoo etc. We opted to not have our room cleaned during our stay and were given four complimentary drinks at the bar in exchange. Hotel staff were friendly and housekeeping were quick to bring us requested items (towels, tissues etc). Would 100% recommend this hotel if you're staying in Innsbruck.

We were in Innsbruck in December, and this hotel was right in the middle of the Christmas market. Yet the room (we were on the top floor) was quiet and private (and clean). The front alcove (tight but sufficient) staff were very helpful. The restaurant was quite good especially for a special meal. We used this hotel to ski at Stubai glacier while having a town experience, which is under an hour away, and has a bus leaving from Innsbruck.

The evening & morning front desk clerks were delightful. The room was decorated so richly - excellent value for the price. Our room overlooked the friendly bustle of the Christmas market, yet everything quieted down in the evening so it wasn't distracting. Love the breakfast room Such personality in this little hotel. Could have pulled the car close-by if needed to unload.

Great place! Clean, comfortable and right near the river and city center. Bonus that it was right in the middle of the Christmas Market. parking was ok since you are in a big city but pretty cheap. A must stay!

On a recent visit to Innsbruck we were fortunate to find this hotel in the old part of town. We were welcomed by the best reception staff we have come across. The rooms were very good with all the usual facilities and the bar and restaurant continued the excellent experience. We shall return as soon as we are next in the area.

The Goldener Adler is located in the very center of the old town area, just steps from the most important sights and historical monuments as well as shopping and dining. The on site restaurant has the finest Tirolean specialties and an excellent buffet breakfast and unique Tirolean decorated rooms and friendly staff.

The hotel staff were excellent especially in reception who couldn't do enough for us with efficiency and humour. The restaurant food was very good and good value. The rooms were small but cosy with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Definitely return on our next trip.

So we had no reservation to the night we showed up and Best Western Goldener Adler were completely full, no rooms available. However Best Western Goldener Adler was so kind and helpful Maria at reception at Best Western Goldener Adler went out of her way to find us alternate housing that was perfect. She extended exemplary and extraordinary kindness and effort from the moment we walked into the lobby, on the wrong day! With the ultimate support of management she as even able to secure for us a gracious full refund for the room we booked for the wrong night. I look forward to staying at Best Western Goldener Adler when we return to the fare city of Innsbruck.

This was our second stay in the Goldener Adler and again we loved it. If you love historic buildings in the old town (we do), than this is the place to stay. Rooms are nice and clean, staff - especially the front desk staff - is friendly and helpful. Most sightseeing points are within easy walking distance. Since parking has been discussed in earlier reviews: The hotel is in a pedestrian zone, but I believe you can drive into the zone for unloading and loading your luggage (please check with the hotel again). Then you park the car in one of two garages, the Altstadt Garage (about 200 meters away) or the Market Garage (about 400 meters). For both garages, you get special rates as a hotel guest (the front desk will validate your parking ticket). We found this easy to do.

For our visit visit to Innsbruck we chose the Hotel Goldener Adler for its central location but that is not all that it has to offer. Great staff, proud history on display for a unique hotel and a comfortable room. We also had both dinner and breakfast at the property and both were very good. A great experience all around for our first stay and I would highly recommend.

It's great hotel with so much characters, and history. Well located in the right centre of all the central attractions, the beautiful river is within inches. We only stayed one night, however, we had both of our dinner and breakfast in this hotel's restaurant, very nice. We really enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located right in Innsbruck and is surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops. Pros: Location, terrific breakfast buffet, extremely nice folks working here. Cons: Room had a musty smell until we aired it out. Finding the correct parking garage was stressful. Be sure to have that mapped out before you go. Also, we stayed on a Saturday night during a festival so there was noise around the hotel for most of the night. Not a fault of the hotel though.

Great location a block from palace in the center of old Innsbruck. Our room was large and comfortable, but some outside noise at night given the central location. Staff was helpful and breakfast buffet's were very good.

Staff very friendly and breakfast fresh and varied. Had lunch in the restaurant once and it was very good. We had a lot of options in the old town and wanted to try other places as well. Overall a very nice hotel that I would highly recommend.

This is a charming historical hotel right in the middle of the old town on a street for pedestrians. The hotel staff are knowledgable and courteous. The restaurant is excellent. You park tour car in a garage 2 blocks away.

Only good things to say here. Service was great, rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Location is super. Just not that if you're driving in, set you GPS to the Altstadtgarage Innsbruck. This is 200m away from the hotel and it's the official hotel lot. Take your parking card and pay at the hotel for a better rate. The hotel is inside the restricted traffic zone and you may or may not be able to drive to the front.

This hotel located 8 mins cab ride from train station. It is in the heart of old town Innsbruck. The hotel has its own restaurant, a bit pricey, but good food. The rooms and bathrooms are large, shower has a rain head. Staff very helpful with restaurant reservation, and directions to other attractions.

The hotel is located on the old town pedestrian zone, but I wish they had been clearer online about where you can pull in off the main street to unload luggage. We drove around and around and never did find the pull in. We checked in and they gave us instructions on how to find the parking garage, which was about a block or 2 away, and we wheeled our luggage over from there. Our first room (310) was in a quiet location away from the pedestrian zone, but the air conditioner was incredibly loud. Someone supposedly came and fixed it, but that night the noise was so loud even our white noise machines wouldn't even drown it out. Got zero sleep the first night. Asked to be moved and one of the women at the desk kindly moved us to 207. We were lucky they had a vacant room for our 4 night stay. Even though the room was across from the elevator and stairs, and faced the pedestrian zone, which could be pretty noisy sometimes, the room was quieter than our first one. With white noise, we were actually able to sleep the rest of the time there. The staff are exceptionally helpful. The breakfasts were wonderful and had many choices. The hotel is in an excellent location. Our second room was comfortable and the AC actually worked. My suggestions would be to provide detailed directions on how to find the luggage drop-off and have the staff check the AC occasionally to make sure it's not malfunctioning. And if you are a light sleeper, ask to be put away from the pedestrian zone.

Location was the best and priced very completely. Restaurant was nice and priced reasonably. Parking for checkin was an issue not knowing where to park. Once you check in there is a parking garage down the street.

Located in the old town area, this hotel offers great services with human touch (friendly staff who would go out of their way to help you). It's in walking distance to many of Innsbruck's major attractions such as, Golden Roof, Hofburg, Stardtturm, Cathedral, and many more. I had a single room, so didn't expect much. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Small but efficient elevator. Continental breakfast offered varieties. Overall, excellent experience, and I would certainly go back and highly recommend others.

This is a superb hotel. Front desk staff as well as other employees are very friendly and efficient. Pay a little more and book Room 308. It is large and overlooks the pedestrian area in Old Innsbruck. I do not believe you can find a better hotel in this area!

We stayed for the third time at this hotel and we always feel very well. The reception is always warm and make us happy. Room are very good as well as the exceptional location. The breakfast is very good too. I go to Innsbruck in business and they always arrange an early breakfast.

This is not a huge hotel but service and location is very good, menu not large but very good food. Our room had plenty of space and had clearly been well updated within the old historic structure including the addition of good aircon which was appreciated as weather was warm and humid.

The Best West Plus Goldener Adler hotel is in the middle of the city of Innsbruck, few steps near the most important square of the city. The hotel offers an International breakfast and we approve it , so excelent. Very nice rooms with many services. The receptionists very very good

The location was excellent and the staff was very kind. The cleaning of the room was not good, they left dirty glasses from the previous day in the room and did not bring clean ones, the floor was not properly swept, they did not leave new shampoos when they finished

Located near the famous Golden Roof, this charming historical hotel will not disappoint you! The rooms offer modern comfort : huge bed, air conditioned, (never underestimate how hot the summer can be here....) and new bathroom. The breakfast is good. Our room (206) overlooked a secondary street,so it was very quiet. There is no parking, but there is a convention with the nearby Altstadt Garage :you get a discount on the daily parking rate and you can pay directly at the hotel on checking out. The staff is super kind and helpful. Superb restaurant, by the way. Sehr Danke!

We spent four nights in July. Very comfortable bed, effective air conditioning, nice bathroom. I enjoyed the history of the place and all the very old paintings and writings on the walls. Receptionists were very nice and helpful.

Based on the online pictures I was not expecting much. Also my experience with BW in the U.S. is they are lower end roadside motels. This place is nothing like that. Super authentic old world but also very modern. Great location walk to everything. Rooms were large and upgraded. Not sure when last updated but it was done right. We only stayed 2 nights with 2 rooms one for the kids. This was a last minute stop in Innsbruck after a 3 week vacation through 4 countries in Europe. Even the kids commented that this was the best place we stayed out 5 other stops we made. Their online pictures don't do it justice. We did not eat at the onsite restaurant but it looked as good as any thing else around the square.

This very historic hotel has a wonderful location. Beyond that there is not much else that is positive. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The towels were musty smelling and the refrigerators in the rooms were removed.

Without a Doubt "Emerse yourself into a pool of Professionalism of Service" . We have checked in to this 14th century Hotel many times over decades and our recent stay of 3 times over 3 week period couldn't wait to "settle in to a Staff that made us feel like Mozart , Maxmillan or " We can't speak enough of Thomas (inside dining) , Phillip and of course Benjamin (outside dining ) and front desk staff day , night that would have run down anyone attempting to not provide our needs or service that would make our stay Perfect . The culinary is delicious , local wines again selected by Thomas or Benjamin , Phillip were priced softly and wonderful . From laundry needs , to special needs , shuttles , the Adler has selected Professionals to serve you . Settle in to the corner of Historic district of Innsbruck , you will not regret the decision.

Right in the middle of old town. Can't go wrong! Great beds great duvets and great service. Upon entering the hotel you were asked to spin the wheel and we won a free upgrade what a great start to our vacation. Bathroom is beautiful air conditioning was a little loud but we got used to it. I thought the breakfast was overpriced as it was not included with our room.

We loved everything about this hotel. We were on a road trip across Europe and spent the night here and ended up wishing we had scheduled additional days. Our room was on the top floor with panoramic views of the square and mountains. The summer concert series was going on so from our room we could open the windows and see the musicians in the square. Be aware that if you're driving to this hotel you must park in the public parking and walk into the old part of town (only pedestrians can access this area). Parking is $15 per night in the public, underground lot. The restaurant at the hotel was very good and there is outdoor seating right in the square. The beds were very comfortable too. And the staff we met, Frankisca and Daniela were quite helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

First visit to Innsbruck and my Daughter handled reservations. What a great find, the Hotel Goldener Adler is located in the center of Old Innsbruck with much to see and do. The fast moving River is just a few blocks away. Accommodations were clean and comfortable with street view.

Of course, the rooms are lovely- well proportioned, well-decorated, and clean! The breakfast was generous and delicious! It was a perfect start to the day. We stayed at the hotel during this summer's heat wave (bummer) so I can assure you the air conditioning is working well and gave us a good night's sleep every night. The real benefit of this hotel is the staff. Without fail the staff was friendly, polite and ready to be of any assistance. Within hours they were greeting us by name and offering us any assistance possible. To be candid it felt like we were staying with old friends and not a hotel staff at all. All of this in a perfect setting - walking distance to hiking (our personal favorite), sites, and the city. We can't wait to return!

Great, central location in the old town. Modern, clean room with good amenities - including very effective aircon, which was essential in heatwave conditions, and acoustic insulation, which meant there was virtually no noise from outside. Good selection on the restaurant menu, at reasonable prices. Staff were fantastic - very knowledgeable about Innsbruck and friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived. Would definitely stay again.

This is an excellent hotel. Great location, great staff and clean. The hotel is located in the heart of the pedestrian village. Not too far is parking, which is offered at a discount price if staying with the hotel. We were upgraded to a suite! Wow! What a beautiful room. Everyone there greeted us daily and made us feel like family. Everything was so clean and the location was perfect and close to everything we wanted to see or a quick bus ride away! We loved every minute we were there and would choose this hotel again and again!

Excellent hotel right in the heart of Innsbruck. The breakfast was really good. The bathroom was excellent and had a very good shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the reasonable price for the room meant that it was good value for money.

Excellent place to stay and visit, Danielle and every one else was so helpful and pleasant, the room and view was wonderful, we took the Innsbruck pass for 24 hours and don't regret it! A must see on your bucket list.

We absolutely loved the hotel Goldener Adler, Tucked away in a perfect location in Old Town it was close to everything we needed. The bar staff were excellent even when I only needed ice and water! We stayed in one of three brand new rooms which were very nice. The windows opened to the street and that was just awesome. The bed was super comfy, the shower huge, and the room was a great size. The only issue we had with the room is it got super hot and we were unable to control the temp (even asking the night staff for help didn't “help”). We tried opening our windows but until after2:30 am there were people out partying. The second night the sweet girl, Nicole, at the front desk was able to help. Speaking of Nicole...she was amazing. She gave us such good insight on where to go, what to do, where to eat as well as what to eat. She was super nice and polite and made our stay much more enjoyable. She always had a smile and eager to help. Definitely recommend and will stay when we visit again.

Traveling from the US, I did not have much expectations from a Best Western but I must say, I was (extremely) pleasantly surprised. This is a great place, I mean GREAT!. A fine hotel, which is was very clean (room, bathroom and common areas), with touch of history, great location with nice food. What else do you need? Price also was not that bad. We were there for only a night (pit stop) and glad that we stayed there. It is right in the heart of the Old Town with history all around and everything walking distance. Parking is just 4 minutes walk. Breakfast was included which was wonderful. And the best part, great people, very friendly and always ready to help. I needed warm milk for my kid and they made sure it was per my expectation. Next time I'm staying there again for a few more days.

Attentive staff, fabulous location for dinner and gorgeous setting. Menu was pedestrian.... It may be personal preference, however in our group of four, 2 of us were disappointed with our choices and two others were very impressed. Highly recommended is the beef tartar and veal carpaccio dishes. The clear beef broth with dumpling offers a staple traditional meal however may not be to everyone's liking.

We were in room 308, fantastic room overlooking the front of the hotel and the square. Four big bright windows with lots of light. Room is set for two double beds. Large bathroom with separate toilet. Breakfast was very good. Had dinner at the hotel, sat outside and it was very good. Great location. Friendly staff. Good value for the money.

We were only in Innsbruck for a short time, but we LOVED the BW plus Hotel Goldener Adler! The staff was SO friendly, and the location was perfect! This is not a 'modern' looking hotel, it is full of history-at least in my opinion. It has big thick old wood doors, and stone throughout, almost feels castle-like, but yet, all the expected amenities. We would definitely go back.

This hotel is located in the heart of the local square and shopping next to many great restaurants. It's decorated with local art and has a very unique interior. The staff was all very friendly. I'd highly recommend!

Stayed in a traditional room. Very clean, quiet and you are in the historic part of Innsbruck with bars, restaurant and the sights outside your door! A great couple of days. Weather was mixed during the stay but didn't spoil the break.

This is a lovely, historic hotel, in fact the oldest in the city, but well cared for with beautiful, modern conveniences. Well located so all tourist highlights are walkable. Rooms are very clean. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very good and the hotel restaurant had some excellent local dishes. We loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone heading to Innsbruck.

Blow dryer, only 1200 Watts, was basically unusable. Room looked out onto grey wall. Could barely see the sky for weather or daylight. Otherwise, service was great; clean rooms; good food. Hotel is very well located in old town. Prices were a bit higher than other hotels.

Didn't stay here, just stopped for a beer. They do an awesome unfiltered beer there, it's really nice. The service is good, the staff are very friendly. The inside looks amazing, really interesting stone work and decor.

Wonderful hospitality received from reception staff (Maria, Daniela, Nina and Nicole)! Very professional, courteous and extremely helpful. We were given an upgrade to a large, well-appointed room. On-site restaurant staff were very pleasant and attentive. Elfi kindly made sure that my favorite "scrambled eggs" were available. There is plenty of nearby shopping, eating, etc., and the Nordkettenbahn is within a 5 minute walk. Overall, a very comfortable hotel, and will always be first on out list!

A great place with great people in a wonderful city! The hotel balances historic decorations with ultra modern-high tech amenities. From the front desk to the restaurant - excellent Austrian food- to the room, it is just a very nice place.

Perfect location, incredible views, great accommodations, and wonderful Tyrolean charm! We loved it so much, we've already booked another trip back in the fall (partly because of the incredible seasonal pumpkin soup at their restaurant)!

What a quaint hotel. We arrived via train and quickly got a taxi for 7 Euros. This is located in the old part of the city, but it was only a few yards from where the taxi dropped us off to the hotel. The room was modern and clean. The location is amazing! We were able to buy an Innsbruck City Card at the front desk and this is a must. The price was 43 Euros per person and we got more than our money's worth in less than 24 hours. The staff is great! And did I mention the location. You are within walking distance to many tourist sites and local transportation (included with the City Card) is everywhere. I would definitely stay here again!

What a charming and friendly place! We absoultley fell in love with Innsbruck! The historic factor alone made our hotel very unique! The staff were amazing, rooms very clean and location could not be beat! We have already started to plan our next trip here!

This is a fabulous historic hotel. It was perfectly situated in the old town with restaurants, shops and museums on the doorstep. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. I requested a quiet room which I got although there was no view. I would highly recommend the Goldener Adler.

Researched this property thoroughly months in advance, so I knew it was in a prime location. But that still didn't prepare me for tried to get our car within walking distance for check-in. Problem is that it's set within the Altstadt (pedestrian-only area) which works to its benefit when staying here but makes locating, unloading and loading bags difficult (no bellhops in Europe, apparently). We drove by the hotel twice before realizing where the public garage is located (5-minute walk away. And there are NO LIFTS in the Altstadt garage!). Only upon checkout was I informed there was a loading zone off the street that runs near hotel. The only other issues were climate control in our room (could set to only one cold temperature, and front desk couldn't tell us how to adjust) and the breakfast buffet (14 Euro/PP and food selection and service were poor, at least at 9am). But the property itself was great, lots of character, clean and quiet. I must also compliment the front desk staff, who were all very friendly, helpful and with good sense of humor to boot!

I liked a lot my short stay in this hotel. The location is simply great, just in the middle of the town. The hotel mood is also very nice, with a lot of history in the decoration. The room was of, although I got a room facing the back with a view to a wall, but anyway, it was clean and pleasant. The bathroom was nice. The breakfast was very good and I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, outside, which was very nice. The staff was great. Very friendly and always with a smile.

Located just in front of the Goldenes Dachl, this cozy hotel has been as touching as its old history. All the staff members were kind. Breakfast was delicious and I recommend dinner here. The room where the sun was pouring out of the window is so lovely.

The Golden Alder is an ok hotel with a great location in old town. Rooms are small but adequate and very clean. There is no onsite parking or even driving up to the hotel. You must park in a public garage about 300 yds away. Not a big deal but makes finding the hotel a little difficult. The hotel restaurant is great featuring a local area menu. The Austrian beef and char were very good and the three soup appetizer was fantastic.

Just enjoyed 5 nights at this excellent hotel. Friendly, interactive staff. Superb standards of cleanliness and decor. No hesitation in recommending it as it is so convenient to major attractions in Innsbruck. Excellent buffet breakfast.

The location of this hotel puts you into the centre of town, a beautiful location to access walkways,late night options for a beer or light snack surround the property. Ensure you as about parking as it is available for a discount. The rest speaks for itself, awesome bathrooms, old hotel that has been modernized.. to me this is my second time at the property outside of the renovations starting at 7:00 am..

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. We absolutely love this place. It is an historic building in the old part of Innsbruck but remodeled appropriately. They even have a beautiful wine bar. It is a great price for a very nice room. The staff is fantastic and very helpful. It could not be nicer.

Stayed here for first time on recommendation from a colleague. Great location in the pedestrian area by golden roof. Room had been recently updated to good standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful answering my questions around local area. Have booked already for my next business trip.

Hotel is undergoing construction so restaurant was closed but there were plenty of restaurants in the area. Room was very comfortable. Hotel is in a great location right down the street from the Golden Roof. Breakfast was in a small cafe just down the street and was very nice. The personnel was very helpful with my internet challenges. I will stay here again next time I am in town.

Very lovely, vintage hotel and friendly staff. nice. new barrooms and good beds, but difficulties with a too hot room and noisy doves, attacking the open window at sunrise. Had to sleep with the window shut.

Being picky, the room is rather modern and characterless, but everything else was great including the corridors and restaurant. Parked in the very nearby Aldtstadt underground car park, which the hotel can get you a discount on. Take a stroll around the old town before breakfast. See the list of previous guests on the plaque outside the front door.

We loved our one night stay at this historic inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast at an associated cafe (Maria von Burgund) was plentiful. The house has many historic artifacts related to famous people who stayed there over the centuries.You can't drive to the hotel directly, but have to park (at a discounted price) at the public garage on Marktplatz.

A very nice hotel with lovely staff right in the heart of the old town. Room was well decorated and very clean. Restaurant is closed due to renovation but we knew this beforehand. Noise and vibration from the building works wasn't ideal on Thursday and Friday so I think £150 a night a little steep, would imagine it's fantastic when the works are completed. WiFi not very good, was constantly dropping out

We stayed three nights in a lovely large room full of antiques. The location was perfect, overlooking the golden roof. Service was outstanding, especially the front desk staff. Would highly recommend this and will definitely return.

Few travellers are able to say they have slept in a room previously occupied by a King. In the Goldener Adler you can, or - if you prefer- in a room previously occupied by Mozart or many other famous people.

Ideally placed hotel in the old town which offered excellent customer service, nothing seemed too difficult. Pity the dinning room was under refurbishment during our stay, but his opens again on 1 April.

Wow wow wow - What a beautiful hotel! Perfect central location in the old town close to all the main sights. Room was big and spacious, included everything needed and super clean. The best nights sleep I've had with such comfortable beds and pillows. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel, all staff are so friendly and happy to go that extra mile to ensure your stay is perfect - they are clearly passionate about their careers. Love the place. Been staying there for over 8 years. Always get remembered by the receptionist and asked how I am. Great place in the middle of the town and ideal for exploring. Good times to visit when the Christmas market is on.

The room was very comfortable, with extra sitting area, a great location in the town centre only about 10 minute walk to the train station, the only negative we had was some street noise at night from people leaving local bars

Charming Hotel right in the Medieval Old Town with old world service and great facilities. Staff spoke fluent English (important as we spoke no German). Innsbruck is the perfect setting for a magical exoetkence in a winter wonderland. I would return in a heartbeat if I could.

24 hour + flight delay out of Innsbruck so ended up booking Goldener Adler - chose a location in the old part of Innsbruck. Fabulously pretty hotel, great location. Wonderfully helpful and friendly reception staff throughout our 24 hour stay. Great choice at breakfast. Kettle in room, which I really appreciate. Only negative was the odd bathroom design - rather than solid doors, there were partially frosted glass panels. This was on floor 4, not sure if same on every floor. 2nd time we have had frosted panels in a hotel bathroom and personally I really don't like it as lacks privacy but that might just be me. Would have been 5 stars if not for bathroom as everything else was wonderful.

Location could not have been better for the Christmas Markets! Centered within a pedestrian zone yet that was not a factor with taxi drop off. Hotel overlooked the Goldenes Dachl right in the heart of the Altstadt. Good breakfast in a quaint restaurant setting. Room was quiet except for an outdoor late-night bar right around the corner which was very loud.

This was a return trip and it was most enjoyable. From check-in to check-out, we were treated like valued customers. We love the hotel's location, the friendly and helpful staff, and clean warm rooms. We dined in the restaurant and very much enjoyed the delicious cuisine.

This is a quaint hotel right in the old section of town, 60 sec from both the Inn River and the Golden Roof. The area is very quiet. The entrance and decor are old world, and the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side, but very functional. The bathroom was larger than other hotels of the same type, a welcome attribute. I requested a steam iron and it arrived promptly. The only gripe was the wifi system. Once logged on, it was slow (1 Mbit/sec max). So fine for light usage (email, browsing), but not file transfers. It seemed some ports were blocked, so features a business traveller might expect, like VPN, do not work. An infuriating issue was re-connecting after putting my Mac laptop to sleep and then waking it up. It sometimes took 10 minutes, and even restarting the computer, to re-establish a viable Internet connection. It seemed to be a DNS server problem that I couldn't resolve in my 2 days there. I use my Mac in dozens of such places per year, and this was the first time I have had this kind of frustration at a hotel. Hooray for iPhone hotspots when in a jam. The front desk said they'd have their tech people look into it...hopefully they have.It has a good restaurant on the ground floor, with a very nice buffet breakfast. It was appreciated that the items were placed on tables all around the room, which reduced crowding at any one spot. Having newspapers in 3 languages was an added bonus for the international crowd. Overall, highly recommended.

This was our second stay at the hotel. The first was 13 years ago. It was as great as we remembered it. Lovely staff. Lovely atmosphere and a fantastic breakfast. I hope to return for a 3rd time. maybe next year.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel Goldener Adler from December 4th 2018 for two nights, on our annual trip to European Christmas Markets. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip even though my wife slipped on ice when up the Hefelekar Peak and fractured her elbow. Hotel Location: The hotel is in a perfect location for the Christmas Market, the Golden Roof is about 20m round the corner, other local attractions and the Hop-on-Hop-off bus nearby. We flew into Innsbruck airport and took Bus F to Innsbruck main train station (Hauptbahnhof) costing just over 2 Euro each. The Best Western is then about a 10 minute walk. On our return journey, the hotel receptionist ordered us a taxi that only cost us just over 12 Euro. There are coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. The Hotel: This is a lovely hotel with plenty of Austrian charm and character. Unlike some hotels, the receptions were really welcoming and friendly. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the market through the stained glass windows. The room was warm, clean, well decorated and the bed really comfortable. There was free wi fi (have to register) a TV, safe and fridge. The bathroom is spacious with a fantastic shower. The restaurant is full of character with efficient and friendly staff. The continental breakfast was plentiful and of good quality, and I particularly like the tradition dress one of the waitresses was wearing.

We recently stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The staff were extremely helpful in both the hotel and restaurant. Location is perfect, especially for the Christmas markets. Parking was very easy within a 2 minute walk. Rooms were very comfortable and traditional in style. Breakfast delicious with a wide selection. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the meals were delicious. Every aspect of our stay was very excellent.

At the CENTER of it all and in the shadow of the famous Gold Roof. Goldener is where you want to be if you want to walk out your door smack-dab into the tourist spots. Unusual choice for us but we wanted to be IN the Christmas Markets...Mission accomplished. In Old City ( that means 500+ year old buildings ) this hotel uses Best Western systems to book but in American standards is an upgrade to BW facilities for sure. Clean, comfortable and great staff. VERY helpful. Restaurant is popular due to location with decent food. Quit until morning hustle and bustle starts, and occasional night owls who had too much Gluhwein, but easy to most Innsbruck attractions.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property in the middle of the Innsbruck old town, just a few doors away from the historic Goldenes Dachl. Friendly service, comfy and well appointed room, great breakfast spread. Definitely recommend this place.

The hotel is located on the edge of Old Town near a bridge over the Inn river perfect for long walks on either side of the river. With the river on one side and the Old Town on the other, the location was perfect for us. We were killing a few days, adjusting to the European time zone, waiting for our group guided hike in the Dolomites. When the group arrived we had to move hotels for one night. We preferred the Goldener Adler to the hotel we had to move to with the group. The Goldener Adler was also better than the BW Plus hotels we have stayed at in the US. And the breakfast was no comparison - fantastic. The hotel is dripping with atmosphere, and was very comfortable. I think the mattresses are foam - we found them to be very comfortable. In good weather the restaurant has seating outside. We walked from the train station (coming from Munich) across Old Town; the distance is about 3/4 of a mile.

Unbeatable location with staff to match. All employees were kind, accomadating, and proactive. The rooms look new with all expected amenities. Breakfast was good and again, staff was excellent. The hotel provides discount to local parking and will hold bags as needed. Really no negatives here. Maybe try for a room away from front as at night the teens collate at bar on corner. But no biggie and nothing hotel can do

Hotel Goldener Adler is strategically located in the heart of the historic centre of Innsbruck very close to the iconic Golden Roof. It is walking distance to many sights including the Cathedral, the Court Church (Hofkirche) and City Tower for amazing sights of Innsbruck. It is also surrounded by shops and restaurants.The hotel was comfortable with reasonably sized rooms. We opened the windows during the night and it was a little noisy late into the night as we stayed just before a public holiday. But we are sound sleepers so this did not bother us too much except for the odd shout or song medley.Breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked eggs and bacon on offer and the usual breads, cheeses, fruit etcThe restaurant downstairs was excellent serving traditional Austrian but it does get full so make sure you make a reservation earlier in the day.

I stayed there only one night, which is a shame. I had no real time to enjoy the facilities, but the team is very welcoming, even with some French nice words. I slept in the room "Albert Camus", a great honor for a French visitor!

The room I had was on the 4th floor, very quiet. The breakfast is excellent. Bed is comfortable. My only negative comment is that coffee and cream were not replaced during my three-night stay. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. WIFI was great in the lounge on the ground floor and on the second floor, where there is another lounge, but significantly weaker on the 4th floor. Dinner with a group of colleagues in the restaurant was excellent.

Positive points: ultimate friendly employees, typical Austrian atmosphere, perfect location, fine breakfast and restaurant, combination of tradition and modern hospitality.Point of improvement: introducing a minibar.

We were just needing a one night stay in Innsbruck and luckily fell onto the Goldeneradler, a Best Western hotel. We were able to walk there from the train station even though most of town center was blocked off here or there for a bicycle road race. The service and accommodations were fabulous. Large comfortable room, convenient to everything. Excellent staff. Great breakfast. And a plus that it is a Best Western (but has the ambience of a lovely historic hotel). Highly recommend. Arriving late at night and did find this gourgeous hotel in the middle of Innsbruck. The location, the standard, the room and all the rest was stunning. The furnituring of the room was just amazing and cosey, i will for sure stay at this hotel next time i am visiting Innsbruck.

We stayed only one night and enjoyed its central location. It could be a bit noisy for light sleepers bit overall, the room was good enough for us and nothing to complain about. We liked the room's decor, the bathroom was spacioua, the breakfast was adequate as with most hotels in Europe.

My wife and I can't think of any negatives about our stay at the Golden Adler. The staff was excellent. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The room and the entire hotel was immaculate. The breakfast was the best we had during our 3 weeks traveling around Germany, Austria and Italy. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station and is in a pedestrian zone with lots of cafe's and restaurants. If we are ever in Innsbruck we will definitely stay there again.

We spent several days in Innsbruck Austria. The hotel is in a great location. The atmosphere was wonderful. The onsite restaurant was quite good. The rooms are nice but a bit on the small size. Overall very pleased with the choice.

We stayed two nights and had a great time. Reception were very friendly and offered great suggestions for things to do. We ended up eating in the restaurant both nights. The service was really good, the waiter was very welcoming and greeted us like friends on the second night remembering what we had ordered the previous night. Saturday night was a little noisy at first but then quietened down at a reasonable time. Breakfasts were good with basic cooked breakfast as well as continental style. Would stay there again without hesitation.

This is a very beautiful and charming location in the center on old town. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I requested the hotel to put a birthday note in the room, and they gladly did it. It was beautifully done. We were very happy.

Our warm welcoming arrival after a long travel was just what we needed. The Goldener Adler rooms, staff and restaurant were perfect. Beautiful old building with lovely windows but full of modern day amenities. The beds, linens and bathroom were luxurious. Situated right in old town but surrounded by any dining or shopping options. We were sad to leave!

Had a nice stay at goldener adler. 3 nights in early October. We were upgraded to a deluxe room due to being best western diamond. Not really sure what that upgrade meant. The room was fairly small still, especially the bathroom which was really tight. Nevertheless the room was in good order. The room had been renovated in brown tones with schist accents. There are definitely rooms of a higher level than this as I saw some bigger rooms again on the TA room photos. Room had everything you need. Decent bed and opening window and good air con. It was a bit noisy with the window open so we used aircon at night. Breakfast was continental with option for cooked egg to order. I would describe it as a solid breakfast, not spectacular. The real strength of this hotel is in its central location in the heart of Innsbruck altstadt (old town). This is a gorgeous once medieval part of the town, right next to the inn river and near the Maria theresienstr main shopping drag. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere apart from the altstadt if you want to get that real Innsbruck/European feel. It's just so buzzy and lovely. You can really imagine life in past times roaming these streets. Some other tips. The information centre is 3 mins walk away at 3 Burggraben. We bought a 24 hour Innsbruck transport ticket there for 5euros and we were able to ride the fabulous red trams you see. We took the STB tram right up to Fulpmes. Search out ‘scenic Tirol public transport routes' for more detail. Eating places I recommend. Cafe Central - typical Vienna coffee house for a piece of cake. Cafe im hof - great lunch place slightly off tourist drag, viener schnitzel was good Altstadtbiesl - dined there. Busy. So book

We stayed here for a few nights in late September, for the UCI World Championships. I chose it for the location, but was delighted with the service as well. We were in a Classic room (the smallest), and it was big enough. Rarely are European hotel rooms as big as American ones, and neither was this one, but we didn't feel cramped. Our window looked onto the small courtyard, which wasn't much of a view, but then it also didn't let in any late night revelry noise. :) Pros: - The location was fantastic for sightseeing. Right in the heart of old town, just a few meters from the Golden Roof. - The staff! Not once did we hear "No". They were so accommodating, and always friendly. When we moved on to another city after our stay here, we found ourselves saying "This place is no Goldener Adler!" - Breakfast. The breakfast room was roomy, and the selection of choices was pretty varied. Cold cuts, yogurt, fruit, cereal, breads, hard and soft boiled eggs, and you could also request cooked eggs (though we only realized this when one of the breakfast room staff asked if we wanted something). There's no reason to not start your day out with a full tummy. - Clean. The room and the bathroom were both clean. - Bathroom: There was a decent amount of space on the pedestal sink, to lay out toiletries. It' not a counter, but it was definitely better than the 2 places we stayed after this. -- I don't know if all rooms are like this, but ours had frosted glass separating the shower from the bedroom. If you're not traveling with someone to whom you are romantically linked, it might be slightly awkward, as it's a bit of a shadow show. :) Cons: - There aren't any USB ports in the room. It's not something I generally expect, but that's the one thing I could think of, that would have made this a better stay. - Bulky key. If you don't have a bag, or cargo pockets, you might see if they can keep the key at the front desk for you. I now have a go-to hotel in Innsbruck!

I was traveling to Innsbruck and I decided to pick his hotel for its central position. It was truly practical. My room and bathroom were superclean. The bed was also really comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - I had never seen such a buffet. Last but not least the staff was really nice and ready to help and answer all my questions.

Hotel located in great spot, modern, comfortable beds and very good restaurant. Rooms are fully equipped and bathrooms are a reasonable size are bright. Getting to hotel can be a little confusing but worth the trouble.

Very comfortable and quaint rooms. Great location in the centre of town and easy walking to bus, trains and river. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good with the snitzle being one of the highlights.

The room was small and for a couple for a week would be too small but for single it was fine. A very comfortable bed and a good bathroom with all the required amenaties. The room was rather dark but that didn't cause any problems. The restaurant and breakfast and dinner were good. The dinner menue was typically good Austrian food but good.

This hotel is unique because it is in an extremely old building yet it offers all the amenities one would want while maintaining lots of atmosphere. As a result, it is quite charming. Breakfasts are excellent offering a wide variety of fruits, breads, etc. The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of the old town. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is the best hotel in Innsbruck. My husband and I stay there every year we go there. Very friendly people and the best food you could ever have. There's a small grocery store across the street. You can grab a sandwich and some chips to snack on later in the evening.

We stayed at the Goldener Adler for the World Cycling Championships. Smack bang on the course (fabulous for the men) and within the old town fabulous for the ladies). Easy access to all the sites. Our rooms were top class and the entire staff, starting with Maria on reception, were extremely helpful and cheerful.

This was a very enjoyable stay. The staff was ridiculously friendly and helpful. The building is very historic but modernized and in a perfect location in the heart of the old town. The breakfast was good and ample. The wifi speed was OK. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Every corner of this Hotel has an older history placed with such way, that bringsto the eye an excellent photo stream!! Each Room of the Hotel has at least one King or Strong Military Man or Kardinal or Music Composer etc.. The rooms of the hotel Large with modern like bright new furnirure covering all the needs of the occupant including modern Bathrooms etc.. The Service perfect from all the people involved.. The reception the best.. We left very early before the breafats start and we had an excellent basket (our luch box!!) waiting for us at the desk in the morning!!

Charming historic hotel in a great location close to the Goldenes Dachl with a wonderful staff and breakfast. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant that offers great Tyrolean dishes. Would stay here again.

The old building is very close to the golden roof. Although parking is a few steps from the hotel, we found enough place to leave our car. Unfortunately we had some troubles in the room (air conditioning started even if unwanted, and some strange and recurrent noises were heard overnight). Breakfast was excellent.

We had a 2 night stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel has loads of history and character but with modern and spacious rooms decorated with natural materials. It is right in the centre of Innsbruck so great for sightseeing. Breakfast was good with good choice and we ate in the restaurant which had a good atmosphere and good quality. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

This hotel offers rooms for more than 400 years, the room is quite Large, Shower and toilets are modern, the room has air condition, active slow wifi, there is a public parking place about 200 meters from the hotel that the hotel offers a discount on regular Parking fees.

The hotel is in prefect location. Most of the sightseeing spots are just in walkable distance. The breakfast was good. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant too and the food was good. There are also many restaurants near the hotel even though you want to dine out. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Recommend this hotel if to stay in Innsbruck

Very helpful staff, great breakfast, comfortable room. We enjoyed out short stay in Innsbruck very much. Dinner at the outdoor restaurant at the hotel was lovely. Our leisurely walk through Innsbruck was lovely also. We especially enjoyed the chess matches at the gardens!

Hotel centrally placed in Old Quarter. Easy access to visitor attractions, shops, restaurants and cafes. The room was spotlessly clean, well decorated and comfortable. The staff are outstandingly helpful, work very hard and always smiling, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast: wide variety of food available. Dinner: delicious.

Wow! I felt like I was a visitor in a friend's home from the front desk to the expansive and well appointed room itself. Just beautiful! The breakfast was much more than the usual "breakfast included". The included espresso was the best so far in Europe.

Location was right in the heart of town with the golden roof only a block away. Rooms were a bit small but hotel was quiet and breakfast was substantial. You can request fresh cooked eggs at breakfast as well.

Stayed in Goldener Adler and was expecting to enjoy it. It looks great from the outside. Has great old world charm, but some of the staff weren't that friendly. Service was generally slow. There was no one to show us to our room on arrival. Air conditioning in the room was very noisy and not effective. The meal we had in the restaurant on our first night was very disappointing. Breakfast was ok but when we ordered eggs they were so poorly cooked and presented we just didn't eat them. Seems to be missing a good manager. Could be so much better.

Wonderful historic decor with excellent breakfast and dinner in the charming and attractive restaurant. Staff are knowledgeable about the area and are very helpful. Location is perfect, you could not get more centrally located, in the heart of the historic quarter. We felt very at home at this very nice hotel.

The Golden Adler is a four star hotel with five star, friendly service from Danielle and Maria at the front desk. Our renovated room had spectacular mountain view, room 307. The bathroom was uber modern with good space. They served an excellent breakfast with everything from smoked salmon, eggs, fresh fruit, breads, cheeses and meats. The parking is less than a 5 minute walk at the Market Garage on the Inn River. We look forward to returning!

This hotel is a quaint city centre hotel with a rich history and definitely worth a stay! Right in the cobbled streets of the city centre (a compact beautiful place) this offers breakfast, in-house (or outside) restaurant with local food fare and everything else on a very reasonable menu. Innsbruck is a stunning visit with really easy access to the mountain slopes too for summer walks or winter skiing. If driving then the approach is easily missed and across cafe bars area of road, actually easier to park in nearby car park then walk across to check-in; ring hotel first for parking instructions. Definitely going back to Innsbruck!

Dating from the late 14th century, this hotel is simply perfect in every way: charm, history, and great food. The staff are congenial and the location in the center part of town all combine to make this place a must-go place.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very helpful, the beds very comfortable, breakfast hearty and above all a brilliant location. Even the restaurant which we didn't eat at, serves good wine. All in all great holiday. Couldn't ask for more.

We enjoyed our stay at the Goldener Adler, with one exception (see below). The hotel is located very centrally, and is convenient for Innsbruck's major attractions and restaurants. It is in a beautiful old building with a wealth of history. The list of well-known people who have stayed there is impressive!Our room was very clean and comfortable with most of the amenities that we would expect from a hotel in the Best Western Chain. This included a kettle and tea bags / coffee - very important for us Brits on holiday!We cannot praise the reception staff enough - they were happy to advise us on our proposed activities and were charming and friendly.Our only problem - and this may just have been bad luck - was in the restaurant. We ate there just once, and the service was poor. We had a 45 minute wait before our starter plates were taken away, and then another long wait before getting our main course. We had to ask the head waiter whether there was a problem, and were then told that the delay was because 'the kitchen couldn't prepare our main courses until we had finished our starters'. Given that no staff member had come near us for 45 minutes to remove our empty plates we thought this was unacceptable. My husband had to make a bit of a fuss, and this took the shine off the evening. After that we did receive an apology but it wasn't really sincere until the owner himself came over, and even then we were left feeling that we were the problem. We think that we had simply been forgotten.But overall we would stay at this hotel again as everything else was lovely, we just might not eat in the restaurant.

We loved this hotel. The building was beautiful, built in the 1500s. The outside was charming and the inside was lovely and modern. There was even air conditioning!! The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel staff were very nice.

Great hotel. Location puts you right in the middle of the action. The property is quite small but very cozy. I made the mistake of booking the basic (lowest rate) room, which I found to be too small for comfort. Fortunately, an issue the hotel encountered resulted in my being upgraded, and the larger room was so much better. If you stay here, do yourself a huge favor and don't book the basic rate, the larger rooms are much, much better, and only a little more expensive. Stayed three nights but left wishing for more.

Hotel was very nice. I had a double room with breakfast. Very things was very good just the room space was a bit small because it is in the middle of the town centre ! Breakfast was okay too even notmany varieties they provided.

The property is historic. Staff is friendly and cordial. As I am a vegetarian, there is enough choice in the breakfast for veg travellers. The location is excellent as it is within the historic city and very near to the market. Rooms are maintained well but for the price, one may feel that the size of the room is smaller. Otherwise it is sufficient. It has a strong list of visitors in the past which includes nobel laureates and great politicians of their time. Overall it was an experience I am not going to forget in near future.

The hotel is conveniently located near the main attractions in Innsbruck. The hotel is a well maintained property with a rich history. My only complaint was the early morning street noise from the trash collection and street sweeping. Suggest you try to find a room that doesn't face the street.

I think It's the hotel of permanent value and heritage architecture in Innsbruck.Stone monument of hotel register ( Goethe, Mozart, Paganini, Camus etc...) is simply overwhelming.From the moment we arrived, staff made us feel so welcome, and up until the day we left, she was always friendly. we were be impressed by the comfort and quality of the food, especially "Wiener schnitzel" and breakfast.Thank you.

The hotel is very centrally located. It is ideal to walk to most places around the centre. The breakfast is very good and the staff are friendly and courteous. We got most of the information about the city from the hotel staff. The dinner was excellent and they have a good section of dishes to choose and an menu in English. The only thing that we found difficult was to find the place as it is not easily accessible with cars as there are restrictions. We were later informed by the staff that we could have brought the car in to unload. They have an arrangement with a public car park near by which you pay at the hotel and get a discounted rate. I would book this hotel again.

The hotel was right in the heart of the old town so near many sights. It's also a very crowded and touristy area. The room was small but fine. What I really enjoyed was the breakfast which was plentiful and included.

We went for dinner. The place looks nice. We were seated at the bar to wait for our table. We were promptly served our drink and soon got our table. But then we were left on our own......it took endless to even get a menue and food took very very long to arrive. The meal was fine. But then again nobody came. We had to go the counter to request the bill. That again was quick. I hope this was an exception.

This is a very nice hotel located in the center if the old town of Innsbruck. The rooms are very good and sur conditioning is welcome! Great variety of food at breakfast. Not easy to get to the hotel to offload your luggage but the car park is very close. The restaurant offers a nice choice of food. I recommend this hotel.

Grand old building in the middle of old town. Walk either direction and there are restaurants, sights to see, shops, an assortment of things to do. The Hotel rooms are on the small side, beds pushed together to make a somewhat queen, bathroom is good, shower not large, towels could be bigger and not so rough, but all was okay for a two night stay. Breakfast was good, most of all you would want to start the day. Coffee, teas, bread, eggs, fruit, juice, cold meats, cereal. A very good hotel, staff very friendly.

I booked my room at last minute. Positively surprised by the nice wolcoming service and the room qualities. The building is perfectly located. It does not have parking. However, they provide you with a parking discount for the nearest public parking (100 mts)

You can't find a more centrally located hotel within Innsbruck. The Goldener Adler is right in the old town and has all the charm you would expect. The staff was very friendly and the rooms are nice and large and comfortable. Breakfast has a limited selection but enough and all very high quality. Although right in the middle of the old town it was quiet and peaceful.

This was the first hotel in the first night of a wonderful 8-day motorcycle trip! Everything about this stay reminded me why I will pick a Best Western in an AltStadt before nearly any other hotel. Wonderful staff, clean rooms, amazing stained glass, windows that open into the square, quiet, quiet rooms, clean, large bed, and a delicious breakfast. We had a wonderful dinner at the hotel as well, and were sad not to arrive in time for the Prix Fixe. The hotel is old, with great history, and has been wonderfully renovated while retaining the classic details. Thank you for a delightful stay! We will definitely be back, and will stay longer.

The Goldener Adler was a great hotel in a perfect location in old town. It was literally steps to the Golden Roof, the city tower, and the Hofberg Palace! The accommodations were comfortable and the staff friendly. Great find!!!

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. It is living museum of Innsbruck and European history for the last five centuries or so. The staff was exceptionally efficient, warm, and helpful. The room was lovely with a good bathroom, and the accompanying breakfast full and delicious. Likewise for the restaurant in general. The hotel could not be more centrally located in Innsbruck. Highest recommendation!

Located right in the heart of old town. We were here for 3 nights . Our modernised room was rather small but comfortable and also an equally small but compact bathroom. Location was great , plenty of cafe and shops around the area . (For the ladies , there is a huge Swarovski store just around the corner ) . The hungerburg furnicular station , folk art museum are within walking distance. Do not forget to purchase the Innsbruck card from the reception , its really useful card when you visit the tourist sites. Overall , we had a wonderful time in Innsbruck .

I stayed here for four nights, while on business in Innsbruck. I had arrived in Innsbruck by train, and the hotel was a convenient 15 minute walk from the railway station. The hotel is right in the center of the old town, so lots of bars, restaurants, and cafes within walking distance. Despite its location, my room was acceptably quiet. Bars and restaurants in the old town seemed to close quite early, so there was really no noise from people partying. I did hear what I assumed were a few delivery trucks early in the morning. Check in was swift and efficient. The young lady at the registration desk when I checked out was particularly cheerful. My room had tea/coffee, a kettle to heat water, a safe, and complimentary WiFi. Overall, a comfortable room. One strange thing about my bathroom was that there was no bars of soap. There was a hand dispenser above the sink for washing hands, which was fine. However, there was no soap dispenser in the shower. There was a small bottle of body wash, but not wash cloth. I ended up using my own small bar of bar soap that I had brought with me. The hotel had a restaurant/bar. I sat at the bar a couple of times in the evening, but found it difficult to get service. In fact, on the second evening I could not get served, so got up and went to a nearby cafe for a beer. It seemed that the staff were more interested in serving the diners in the restaurant than the patrons on bar stools. Overall, a good hotel. If you want a hotel right in the middle of the old town, this is for you.

A delightful traditional hotel with bags of history. Our room had been recently modernised and offered all the comforts and facilities you could want. We were all very impressed by the friendly staff and great service. It is worth dining in as the food was delicious and the service wonderful. Our favourite hotel during our European holiday.

The staff, the room, the restaurant were all outstanding. The 24 hour room service was not as advertised. The only wine available after the restaurant closed was a very expensive bottle. I hope I have the chance to stay at the Goldener-Adler again.

A familiar hotel with very friendly staff. The room was cozy. Breakfast was very good. Hotel is located in the old town of Innsbruck close to a lot of sightseeing points. Hotel is ideal for a city trip to Innsbruck as well as for relaxing after an exhaustive working day.

Friendly staff who met our every need. Clean and centrally located to both sites and transportation., but we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to. Close to restaurants and entertainment. Comes with a complete and delicious breakfast. We would stay here again.

Old building with lots of character in the heart of Innsbruck. It hosted most illustrious people including Mozart and Paganini as well as royalty. It has an elevator so you'll have no problem in getting your suitcases to your floor. The staff are courteous and efficient. Breakfast is super.

We chose the Goldener Adler for its historic character and location. Having apparently booked a standard room by mistake, we were quite dismayed with the small, dark and dated room that looked directly onto the masonry across a very narrow lane. As soon as we walked in we could distinctly hear the television from the neighboring room. Fortunately, we were able to rebook into a larger, renovated corner room (I believe in the “deluxe” category) that was filled with light. This made our stay more comfortable. However, a few touches were lacking. For example, the window treatments do not include blackout curtains, so the light does encroach on the room in the morning. And while we never heard our neighbors, lack of exterior soundproofing and the property's convenient location in the old town meant a fair amount of street noise well into the night. The front desk staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful – they have a lot of responsibilities between handling incoming and departing guests, attending to guest needs, calling for taxis and the like – and all was handled efficiently and competently. In fact, it was the very helpful front desk personnel who saved our rating of this hotel from being "average." The hotel does not itself offer parking but has arranged discounts with two nearby garages, which worked well enough for our needs.

Located 100 m from the Goldenes Dachl, the Hotel can be found right in the heart of Innsbruck. It offers free internet and breakfast till 10 A wide range of Tyrolean specialities as well as international cuisine are served in the Restaurant of the Best Western Plus Hotel Goldener Adler Innsbruck. The Imperial Palace and the Hofkirche church are reachable within a 5-minute walk. A public garage is 2-minutes walk away and tickets are sold at the reception.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Goldener Adler. The room was nice with a view of the river. The restaurant was outstanding. The service was superb. The location on the Fussgangerzone was outstanding... But the room had no air conditioning. Now, this was not a problem for us, as it was cool enough with a fan and the windows open. But do be advised if traveling in an unusually hot summer season...

The staff was helpful and friendly, the restaurant was exceptional and the building was interesting and convenient to everything. I would recommend this hotel highly. Also it was surprising how quiet the room was given the busy location of the hotel.

A lovely old hotel in an ideal location in the old town. Very close to all tourist attractions and a few minutes walk to the hop on/hop off tour bus. From the moment we arrived, this proved to be one of the nicest hotels out of about 15 we have stayed at during our two month trip. The Hackl family have one of the friendliest hotels I stay at. The greeting is warm, the father comes into the restaurant and greets his customers in the morning. The food is very good and several restaurants near by. The train station is a short taxi or tram ride to the hotel.

Cute hotel in a perfect location, you were right in the old town, plenty of touristy places there. Small mpries grocery store right across the street, which is nice. Walk 10 minutes and you can find great non-touristy casual restaurants and bars by the river. So really could not have found a better location. Family run and very service oriented. We had a problem with our safe and they were on it immediately, very helpful. Breakfast was very good and they had soy milk out which is very much appreciated. Only issues:we were on the 4th floor and internet connection was hard to get, but if you walk with your device out in the hall near elevator you can connect and it stays connected in the room. So it worked, just be aware.

This hotel was in the middle of the cutest area in Innsbruck. It did not feel like a traditional hotel, more of a cozy Austrian feel. It was just my young daughter and I and we felt very safe in this hotel and area. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was perfect. They went beyond expectations - even walking outside and down the road to check the weather at the tops of the mountains before recommending the Hafelekar cable car for us (which is an absolute must while you are here). I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Innsbruck.

We spent one night at the best Western plus hotel Goldener Adler. The hotel is in an extremely convenient location for visiting the city. The old building is charming and well-kept. The front office staff is outstanding in their willingness to be helpful and courteous. Breakfast was excellent.

Ultimately the hotel is responsible for all info at booking.com. That's why I decided to write. When making reservation using Booking.com it says the hotel has a near by parking but it does not say a word about to be located in a pedestrian location only and that would be hard to handle the lugagge. Also the reservation process states that there is no need to provide a credit card but right after it requires one. Also it says that the payment would be at the hotel front desk but they had already charged my credit card. I asked to the lady to cancel it because I wanted to use another on but she refused.

The Goldener Adler was everything we expected: great location, clean, quiet, and a stunning breakfast! The staff was polite and efficient and helpful. Would recommend the Goldener Adler to all my friends.

As the title says, great hotel and location. The parking is simple, use the Alstadt parking lot about 2 blocks west on Innrain. The hotel gets you a great discount. The parking is limited due to construction, so you might have to wait a little while for a spot. The front desk (Nicole and Nina) are wonderful, friendly and professional in everyway. The room is good sized, well designed. The only negative was the maid didn't re-stock any tolietries and some towels during two night stay.

Wonderful facility in a wonderful location in the Altstadt part of city. Rooms superb and comfortable. Very clean. Front desk personnel are very friendly , accomodating and helpful. My Deutsch is not the best-. They speak very excellent in English. Would recommend this property to anyone going to Innsbruck

This small, beautifully decorated and furnished hotel in an historic building and location offers superb, friendly service from reception to housekeeping to restaurant to checkout. Buffet breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were both excellent. A perfect "goldilocks" mattress was frosting on the cake. Wifi connection was a bit erratic, but quite adequate.

Recently stayed two nights at this hotel. The location is excellent; right in the pedestrian zone downtown. Check in was quick; all staff were very efficient and friendly. Our room was fine except the bathroom. It was so small it was almost impossible to open the shower door and get into it. No counter or place to put anything as well. Bed was comfortable, ample room in room with nice flatscreen TV. This is an old building, so each room is a bit different. I would definitely stay here gin, but ask to see the room first. The other couple we were with had a much larger bathroom and different room layout. Breakfast was very nice each morning with male choices of both hot and cold food. Bar prices are extremely expensive. A rum/coke cost 10 Euros and with your shot of rum you get 3 ounces of coke. Everyone else in Europe they give you the bottle. I think this bar should do the same or lower their prices. Bartender was the only hotel personnel without a friendly personality. Three are plenty of restaurants, bars and entertainment within walking distance, It is about 15 minute walk from the train station. I would recommend this hotel nd plan to tay here again when returning to Innsbruck.

Missed perfection because the WiFi was so difficult to maintain in the room. Several times I had to walk to the elevator to re-connect or stand at the door of the room to maintain the connection. Otherwise the room was spacious and comfortable! The breakfast included was very good! The staff exceptional!

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Innbruck. Staff is very helpfull and breakfast was excellent. The room itself was rather small. All sights are within walking distance, also the start of the Nordketten Bahnen.

After travelling in Europe for 5 weeks we enjoyed the welcome and quality of the accomodation, the dinners and the breakfasts at this hotel. Despite overlooking a very busy and picturesque square, the room we had was quiet and private. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A model for others to follow.

This historic building is located at the entrance to old town Innsbruck. The rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable and lovely. The rooms are air conditioned, which is a plus in my book. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included in my package and was nicely done. I would definitely stay here again!

Just stayed overnight there with friends. Gorgeous historic hotel in the historic center of Innsbruck also close to the river. Great building inside as well as outside. Nice quiet room, mine was on the last floor. Had a nice quick dinner and also a nice breakfast in the morning. Public parking nearby for the car.

Very often, I stay at this hotel which is located in the old town of Innsbruck. The hotel, with a history going back for several centuries, is very close to the Golden Roof, the Inn river and the Hofburg. In addition, the hotel also has an excellent restaurant serving local cuisine. Staff is really friendly and tries to accomodate all wishes of its customers.

My wife and I stayed here for two days of our honeymoon. Innsbruck itself is amazing and great central location to get to many sites if you are traveling by car. This hotel was wonderful. The restaurant had great food, and while our room was just a bit on the small side, we were quite comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom had more space than the usual European bathroom. Staff was very welcoming and very helpful.

The location is excellent, right in Old Town with parking close by. The staff was attentive and very friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed our large corner room with its sitting area and large bathroom...

Was upgraded to a larger room which was quiet and nice : the Paganini room. The bathroom was very modern with a large shower. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a good muesli. The restaurant is one of the best of the town.

I stayed for a week. It is located in the center of the old city, which means easy access to the sight seeing spots. The ambience is nice and classy. It is well renovated so it is OK about the shower and toilet with the minimal space. Since the room I stayed in was on the tip floor, which is actually attic in Europe, so the ceiling is not high. If you are tall, you might feel like being captured... Generous breakfast was included.

We had a fantastic stay at the Goldener Adler hotel and have only wonderful things to say about it. First, the staff upgraded our room for no reason and we had a beautiful view in a spacious, luxurious room. Next, the breakfast was so satisfying and I wish we could have stayed another night just for that! Also, you cannot beat the location. The staff was so friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

Our group liked the hotel location very much cause most of places we had visited are located within walking distance; museums, Hofburg, Hofkirche, Nordkette cable car station, shopping area and restaurants. The hotel themselves have a long history to tell. Some double rooms are a bit small, corner room then more preferable while family rooms are quite spacious. Rooms are tidy and clean. We had a diner at the hotel one evening and it was good.

I have stayed in this hotel for one night in March 2018. The hotel is located in the old city, so naturally there is no parking on site. It provides a discounted parking (10Euro a day) in the nearby Alstadt parking lot, 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The single room is small but adequate for a single person. It was somewhat warm from the heating system, so I opened a window, which I would do anyway. And it was very clean. I had to leave early so I could not try the full breakfast, but they opened the breakfast room early for me, so I can at least have something before I go. The hotel staff is very courteous and helpful. When I left the hotel, and walked into the parking lot, I heard footsteps running behind me. It turns out I left my wallet at the hotel reception, and somebody ran for 10 minutes to catch up with me and give me the wallet. I would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting the old city of Innsbruck.

We spent one night here in transit to the ski slopes. My wife and I stayed 3 nights at this super historic hotel in the center of town, very comfortable rooms with modern furniture and bathrooms. Breakfast was buffet style which was excellent and the staff were extrememly helpful. Many cafe's, restaurants and shops were just meters away. I highly recommend his hotel.

Quaint Hotel in the very heart of town, very accommodating and friendly staff and fairly affordable considering the location (right next to the "goldenen Dachl"). I can easily recommend it for any kind of visit to Innsbruck!

The hotel comes with so much history but has all the comforts of a modern hotel. As a family of 4 we availed of the interconnecting rooms and worked a treat for us. Location wise you are right in the middle of the historic Centre of the town, would heartily recommend taking a walking guide to learn about the history of the city, we did 2 hours but you could easily stretch that to 3 or 4. Breakfast was very nice and had dinner one night which was also very good. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Had a great stay heartily recommend you consider this hotel for a short stay in Innsbruck.

We already reviewed the restaurant, which was great. We are staying st the hotel with our 14-year-old granddaughter. We have connecting rooms on the fourth floor and all is great. Is this a 5-Star hotel? No. But I believe it's the top to be had in Innsbruck, and the staff MAKES it 5-Star. They are so helpful and nice. We called down for ice tonight and it came within a few minutes. When I offered a small tip, the lovely young woman refused it. That is just one example. Bottom line, we highly recommend this hotel if you are coming to Innsbruck.

The ancient building is right in the heart of the old town. The interior has been tastefully modernised and the rooms are clean and comfortable. All the staff are really friendly and the front desk are particularly efficient. Breakfast was a nice buffet plus the option to order hot food. There is a restaurant with a good reputation but not tried on this visit. A perfect choice for Innsbruck at a reasonable price.

On previous occasions I had spotted this hotel, but I was already staying elsewhere, so I made a note to book another holiday there as soon as possible. When I did, I was delighted with what I found: everything was just as I had imagined, and even better. I'll certainly be back!

We enjoyed a short stay on our way home at this lovely 600 year old hotel filled with antiques,The upgraded third floor room was lovely. One can imagine Goethe, Mozart ,or Paganini staying here. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was large with nice fixtures and toiletries.Food in the restaurant was good.

We stayed here one night and overall had a great stay. Very helpful upon checking in and was thrilled that our room was ready early. The location could not be any better for exploring Innsbruck. However, the rooms were small and there was almost a smoky smell inside. The breakfast was great the next morning! Overall, thought it was a little overpriced for the room.

This very well maintained historic hotel situated in the centre of the old town of Innsbruck is perfect for exploring this lovely city. The accommodation provides modern, high quality facilities, our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The bathroom had quality fittings, plenty of space and well supplied with toiletries. The breakfast provided for all tastes and the full range was available until the end of the breakfast period. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful from the moment that we arrived.

Family trip to Innsbruck. We had two of the smaller rooms on the 2nd floor. On the plus side: the hotel is quaint, conveniently located in a nice part of town (near the Golden roof and about 8 minutes walking distance to the train), staff is friendly and helpful, meals were well prepared, interesting decor in the hotel area. There's a parking garage nearby, apparently. In the “needs updating” category: the rooms were tired looking (not updated, as the others rooms appear to be) and the carpets need cleaning. Of note: it was a bit noisy on Friday night when the bar patrons walked down the street after 3am. That said, we would stay here again if we return to Innsbruck

We enjoyed our visit at this hotel, and there are many reasons to like it: friendly and helpful staff and servers; a massive breakfast buffet in the morning with amazing croissants, breads and pastries among other items; located in Old Town and within walking distance from practically all the tourist locations (and if not, a quick walk to the funicular or the bus); the room was clean and well appointed and the hotel itself is quaint and historically interesting. However, my three complaints are (1) the tiny room (you could barely squeeze around the double bed without banging a knee on a desk or the footboard etc); (2) the tiny bathroom lacking in any counter space whatsoever; and (3) the partially “frosty” glass enclosure with a door that doesn't latch for the bathroom. Anyone just a tad over 6 feet tall can peek over the frosty glass, which is just plain weird.

Talk about feeling welcome, well from the moment we were greeted, it was the start of a homey, friendly and lovely home,away from home feeling. Our room was spacious, comfortable and tidy with a huge walk in bath for my elderly mom.We lived all the,activity outside our door with all tge Xmas decor and markets,we were truly in the thick of it!Siper location to walk anywhere and if you got confused you knew the,Adler was,around the corner. The staff were the best and we lived chatting with everyone.We especially loved the little egg hats for such an extensive and healthy breakfast to start your day!!We also tried 2 dinners which were excellent and delicious . We would stay here again in beautiful Innsbruck and look no further. We were really thrilled and very Happy Guests. See you again !

This is a great property in the heart of old town Innsbruck with beautiful rooms a great restaurant that serves a spectacular breakfast but what make this the place it is are the people who work there. I just want to single one of them out and say that Maria at the front desk is by far the nicest person you could ever possibly deal with. When I arrive this time not only did she have everything we needed ready but she remembered me and asked about my wife who was not traveling this time. those are the little thing that make a difference!

Right in the heart of the old town, the Golden Roof is just round the corner, and all the shops and restaurants are in easy walking distance. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. Good wifi.

We stayed for 2 nights in December to explore the Christmas Markets & mountains. The hotel is approx. 15 minutes by car from the airport and the location could not be better, 30 seconds from the Golden Roof and right in the heart of the markets. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready, but our bags were stored and were waiting for us in our room when we returned later in the day. We had room 411 which is on the very top floor, the views were amazing! Mountains from one window, the Golden Roof & markets from another. The room itself was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of towels and extra blankets, it was also completely spotless. Breakfast was varied and the eggs cooked to order. Every member of staff we came into contact with was super polite and helpful and I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here in our first night through Austria. Reception was great and after driving around the main square 3 times trying to figure out where to park (Altstadt garage btw) we called and there were extremely helpful on the garage location. Room was extremely clean and fairly big for Austria. Bed was comfy and while i was a tad concerned on our room location (right above the market vendors) it was actually very quiet. Location couldn't be better. You're with 30 seconds of the golden roof and dead in the middle of the markets. We didn't get a chance to try out the restaurant since were only here one night. Only negative is that since you're in the city center you have to park and walk but its a 2-3 min walk and really not an issue at all. Overall id actually rate this a solid 4.5 star hotel, but since TA doesn't do half stars and after our hotel in Vienna I'm going up to 5 rather than down. The helpful staff and location puts it over the top. Tips, park in the Altstadt garage which is directly under the main Xmas market and bring you're parking ticket with you for reduced fare when you leave.

We were three couples taking in the lovely Innsbruck xmasmarket (which is just outside), the weather was lovely and there was early snow so we were possibly biased However this little gem convinces one as one of the dying breed of Austrian family run town hotels- with the owners there literally from morning till evening to see to their guests lacking nothing And it doesn't Nicely refurbished albeit smallish rooms (we had standard peaking in their superiors they much bigger) especially the bathrooms which are well equipped (grohe raindance showers etc) and nice toiletries; comfy mattresses even air conditioning Whilst we did not eat there the breakfast served was nice with good choice of local produce; even their own brand fizz available well prepared coffee and nice bread Service whilst stressed and appearing a bit short very effective and still taking time to smile What could be done differently? A few more choice on tea (they have one darleeing and the rest all fruit infusions)and perhaps not to have the butter on ice in the winter The downside of the central location is that if you like me like sleeping with an open window you hear lots of noise at 3 when the last clubbers go home; at 5,30 when the trash cans are emptied and then deliveries start; perhaps try to get a room to the inside of the hotel Bathrooms in standard rooms can be perhaps claustrophobic for some or unsuitable for those with a disability Great place and good value

Hotel location - perfect All staff from front desk (Sabine & Maria) to Thomas in the restaurant were amazing, friendly, happy, helpful - very professional, remembered small details. Our classic dbl room #204 was lovely, bright, light, warm, soundproof. Very comfy bed & pillows lovely linen. Tea/coffee, kettle, small fridge, room safe( very easy to use) Bathroom had a shower, all amenities, generous fluffy white towels. Buffet breakfast was good - usual European, cold meats etc fresh pastries, cereals, fresh fruit & eggs cooked to order We ate dinner twice in the hotel restaurant - very good menu & wine list - I am a fussy picky eater and was spoilt for choice. Highly recommend this hotel & restaurant If ever I return to Innsbruck I will definitely stay here

Situated at the gates to the Old Town this hotel could not be in a better position, given that it has also always been a hotel since its erection in the 1300's its also extremely well versed in looking after its customers (even, I believe, in an early life one Amadeus Mozart). Over the years it has, obviously, been refurbished carrying all modern amenities but this has been completed with a great deal of TLC and an eye for maintaining the character of the building itself. On top of the building you add a group of people, the staff, that are some of the friendliest and most helpful people you could wish to meet, and that goes for the reception staff, the restaurant staff both breakfast and dinner and the cleaning staff, and you have a perfect combination. Our room was not the biggest we hard ever stayed in but it was, for a 4 day break, big enough and had everything we needed with sufficient storage, both hanging and drawers, a safe, a writing desk, a fridge a very large comfy bed and a very modern stylish bathroom (room 302). The hotel also boasts one of the best restaurants in Innsbruck and we did eat here one night and was not disappointed. The food and the service were both superb. However if you do want to venture out to other restaurants the top 5, as shown on TA, in Innsbruck are all within walking distance and 3 of them within 200 yards, so you are spoilt for choice. While we were staying at the hotel it was also the start of the Christmas market and that was just the icing on the cake, and it started right outside of the hotels front door, we couldn't ask for better. A great hotel with great staff in a great location for sights and restaurants and shops in the Old Town, what more could we ask. Superb

This is a very nice hotel. Our room was comfortable and big enough and the windows looked over the old town, in which the hotel was located. We were particularly impressed by the shower. It was a nice walk-in shower with both an overhead and a handheld spray. In the bathroom was a stool which I took into the shower; I sat and washed myself with the handheld spray. This was as nearly perfect a shower as I have seen in a hotel. There were numerous electrical outlets and switches. In one case an outlet that we wanted to use was controlled by a switch which also controlled some lights, which we found to be inconvenient. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful, but sometimes they were mobbed by people checking in or out. The breakfast was good, but the woman who helped us had no English, so we had to rely on my halting German.

When you walk out of the hotel the sights you see are amazing Your steps away from the Golden Roof along with plenty of the other "things to do" here on TA. For those driving to Innsbruck the Hotel will provide discount parking at the Innsbruck Altstadtgarage by Marktplatz. The room we had was a basic room nothing special. The one thing we noticed was both the room and hallways in the hotel are kept very warm. In our room after turning down the heat we turned on the A/C to make it a bit cooler. The hotel does provide a limited breakfast We both liked Innsbruck its not too big so it easy to get around. We only wish we we could have spent a couple more days to explore the city and to take in more of the incredible views. Maybe next time...

We booked this hotel as it was far less expensive than the other one's we found on-line and it seemed to be in a better location than some of the other ones anyway. We didn't make a mistake! The hotel is great. Nice rooms, great staff, good restaurant but the biggest selling point is location, location, location! Try it, you'll like it.

awesome hotel that epitomizes old town Innsbruck. Every place is walkable even the train station. Although a bit of a hike. This is close to restuarants and stores. Rooms are small but clean and bright. Breakfast was outstanding. Everyone was helpful at the hotel. Highly recommended. For a central location, it is very quiet at night.

We arrived a bit frustrated...well very frustrated...as our GPS was not helpful in guiding us to this lovely historic hotel right in the heart of the pedestrian area of Innsbruck...more on that later. The young lady at reception did everything possible to welcome us, accommodate our needs and get us settled in our lovely comfortable room which had everything you could need in a room from cleanliness to a comfortable bed, crisp linens, lots of towels, good shower with water pressure and hot water, inroom coffee etc. Wish I had her name because she went above and beyond! Explore the different floors of the hotel which each have their own decoration in keeping with the style and history of this location, and don't miss the interesting stairwell decoration on the way up from floors 1 to 2! The breakfast room and restaurant are on the main level and are very cosy and warm with the decoration and arched ceilings. Breakfast was one of the best with a good selection of cold items and the option of ordering eggs from a menu of about 5 options, as well as the selection of different coffees. Very nice touch. Hotel location is perfect for taking in the Aldstadt and other places of interest. Parking is available about a 5 minute walk away and although the hotel suggests they have special rates, I did end up paying the full rate as we exited. My fault, perhaps, for not inquiring on how to access a lower rate as it is a public parking that you are directed to. Now for the GPS...the directions will take you to the start of the pedestrian street, not to the hotel as cars are not permitted other than certain morning hours. The hotel is not at all far from the street entrance. We parked in a loading zone and ran with our luggage to the hotel entrance. You can apparently drive in, even if all signs say no, to drop off luggage but we were not aware. And it was a busy busy Friday night with wall to wall people so not sure how we would have managed. but we did manage as we left on a quieter Sunday morning. So...hard to get to but well worth the effort!

The best is how well located the hotel is right by the Golden roof in old town. The rooms are clean and the only complaint was by 6.30am you can hear the noise of truck at the square unloading etc. The breakfast is continental but you can order eggs.and cappuccino. The restaurant is quite popular too.

Beautiful hotel, Friendly staff and nice rooms. Location is superb...but a bit noisy at night since many people are celebrating in the old square. Innsbruck is a beautiful city that inst overrun by tour groups. Many nice restaurants within easy walking distance.

Our second visit to this lovely hotel was just as enjoyable as our first. We asked for, and were allocated, the same room as on our first visit, even though we were only staying for two nights. As previously, the reception and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. There is a good breakfast buffet and your order is taken for hot food - so much better than in hotels where the routine scrambled eggs have sometimes been left to congeal for hours. The hotel is full of character; I love this place, and the price is reasonable, especially when you consider its location. It is small and obviously doesn't have five-star facilities like a swimming pool, but it deserves five stars because what it does do it does really well.

Old building in old town! Modernzing of the facility is effective and tasteful. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Staff is excellent. Breakfast buffet first rate. No on-site parking - about a 5 minute walk to old town parking facility where hotel deal is 10.90 euros per day. Possible to drive to hotel to drop off luggage.

If we ever came to Innsbruck again, or had to recommend a hotel to anyone, we'd have no problem choosing the Hotel Goldener Adler. This accommodation was just great for us. First, the location is terrific. It is just the best. We stayed a full five days in Innsbruck, and it is right in the Altstadt. Many tourist sights are in the Old Town, so this is a “no-brainer”. But still, there are touristic attractions elsewhere in the area too and the location was still good for catching other transportation. We bought the 3-day Innsbruck Card and it was absolutely worth it. The Nordkettenbahn and Swarovski Krystallwelt will pay for it alone. Transportation is also included in the card, or you can get a 24-hr pass on the hop-on bus called “Sightseer”. It will take you most places you'd want to go. Back to the hotel itself, every staff member was totally friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. This includes the waitstaff in their excellent restaurant. We had dinner 3 nights in that restaurant and were never disappointed. The menu is not huge, but everything chosen by the 3 of us was a success. Breakfasts are a very complete buffet, plus cooked eggs to your liking. Also, various coffees are available by request (e.g., lattes and cappuccinos). We had a rental car, so we were concerned about driving up to the hotel and parking it. Cars are allowed at any time for drop-off of luggage at the hotel. This is a pedestrianized area after 10:30 am, but we had no trouble driving in at other times. You just have to watch the pedestrians obviously! Parking is about 2 blocks away, and the hotel provides a reduced rate if you give them your parking card. You actually pay parking to the hotel. Our rooms were 301 (single friend) and 304 (me and my husband). Although the hotel is a very historic and venerated establishment, Best Western has seen fit to upgrade and modernize it, of course. The room was very comfortable, although there isn't really a view except to the building across the alley. There was a desk with 2 desk chairs, but no where else to sit. It worked out for us. You can't miss choosing this hotel.

This hotel is even better than a typical BW, as it is an old building, in the heart of the old city. The staff is helpful, and one young woman helped me find a hotel in Munich, my next stop for two nights. You have to walk down the stairs and around the hotel as it is remarkably decorated. All the staff at the front desk was courteous and helpful, and the manager gave me the same rate for the second night. Innsbruck has a lot to see and I recommend two days. You can walk to the train from here, and they have a very nice breakfast and dining area.

Hotel Golden Adler is in a perfect location, only meters away from the Golden roof and the old town centre, the staff could not have been more helpful and the room was very clean and cosy. Only issue we had was street noise and that was on the top floor, but this was only a minor issue. Over all I would highly recommend this motel

The location in the old town is excellent with almost everything including the Palace, the museums, the restaurants and the start of the funicular within walking distance. Although it is in a pedestrianised area, taxis will drop you and collect you at the door. The staff, particularly on reception, are lovely and the hotel is truly historic yet the rooms are updated recently and good quality. Someone in a previous review commented that there was limited room in reception to rest and plan your day but in fact there is a room at the back of the hotel which can be used for that purpose (also with a chess set etc.) There are a few little points of detail that would have led to 5 stars rather than 4 on my rating. You may have to grab someone to order the (excellent ham and eggs for example) cooked breakfast when they are busy. The bathroom light in our room could only be switched off by turning off the main overriding light switch, there was no signal when we tried to watch TV and there was little consistency in what was provided as complementary tea bags. But overall I would definitely stay there again and heartily recommend it to other travellers.

In the heart of Innsbruck, great service, great rooms, great breakfast. Dates back hundreds of years but has all modern facilities, perfect center for seeing tyrol.Seefeld and Iglis are both worth a visit .

Cafe and restaurants are just downstairs. This hotel is two mins walk to golden roof. Very clean and high standard. Breakfast is below average, the omelette is very salty for our standard. We did not see the basic items for breakfast such as bacon, eggs and sausages. They provide discounted parking but it's a bit far from the hotel around 300m. Overall we had a good experience and will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located in the Old Town and the area around it is pedestrianised, though taxis do pull-up right outside the door. The room was great, complete with a very comfortable bed, decent bathroom with shower over the bath, kettle/drinks in a hospitality tray and fridge. Also a free digital safe. Though the hotel is part of the Best Western chain, it has lots of character and is very clean. The reception area is fairly small, and the included breakfast is taken in the restaurant just opposite. There was a decent selection of breakfast items, and most days (would have been nice to have been asked every day) I was asked if I wanted an egg with my breakfast. I ate at the restaurant one evening and one lunchtime. The food was very tasty, and reasonably priced. The 2 ladies who I encountered on reception were very pleasant and helpful, one even left her post to pop outside to tell me that the taxi driver anticipated being 7 minutes late! If you need help with any sightseeing, the reception folk are happy to give you a tear-off city map overmarked with directions. The only slightly negative comments I can make are that the complimentary drinks tray wasn't restocked daily, and on arrival there were 2 used shower caps still hanging in the bathroom. The key fob lift security thing was good, but the computer for residents use on the 2nd floor wasn't working when I attempted to use it. All in all the hotel is a great place to stay, and was ideal for my needs. I would certainly stay there again should I find myself in Innsbruck.

When we were planning our trip, I wanted to stay away from the big chain hotels. This hotel had it all - friendly staff, great included breakfast and a comfortable quiet room. Right in the center of the old town and an easy 15 minute walk to the train station. The staff was great answering my question by email as to which rooms were on the quiet side of the hotel. That worked out great. Fraulein Maria at the front desk was so friendly and helpful and gladly spoke to us in English. One bonus, at breakfast, eggs cooked to order.

Stayed two nights in Sep 2017. Wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. The very friendly reception staff really went out of their way to please and ensure that everything was fine. The quaint rooms on the highest floor (4th) were clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good too although the variety was somewhat limited. We had a great dinner at the restaurant though. The ambiance was very nice (it felt as if you were dining in a castle!), the food was delicious, there was a good selection of wines, beers and spirits and the service was great too. Centrally located at the heart of Innsbruck's old town and just a stone's throw away from the Golden Dachl (golden roof), the city's most famous landmark, and within walking distance to all the sights, attractions, shops/shopping areas and F&B outlets. The river Inn and a bridge across it to the foot of the mountains is only about 100m away and the station for the funicular train that takes you up to the mountains and the Alpine Zoo is only about 300m away. The train station is also only a 10 mins walk away. Would highly recommend staying at Hotel Goldener Adler to everyone visiting Innsbruck!

Stayed here recently for 4 nights and totally loved this hotel. Beautiful, historic property with well appointed rooms, AC and a nice restaurant onsite. Staff were very friendly, answering every question, giving advice and trying their best to make your stay an enjoyable one. Housekeeping was consistently good and wifi was reliable, your phone picks up signal as you approach the hotel entrance. The location can't be beat, on the nicest street in the historic center. You could sit outside and watch the world go by. There are many good restaurants and cafes that are very close to the hotel, including the amazing Thai Li for superb Thai food. Keep in mind that this hotel (and the historic center) is a bit far from the train station, which means you have to to make the 20 min trek or take a taxi to get to the station. The included breakfast was just okay, perhaps a bit on the boring side. On the other hand, we had dinner at the same restaurant and it was very good. Unfortunately, there's no space in the lobby to sit and rest for a bit or plan an outing, etc. There are two large armchairs on either side of the reception desk. It would be best to put two smaller chairs next to each other, or a small bench so you can sit with family or friend and be able to have a conversation. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, kudos to the excellent staff and management at the Goldener Adler, especially the very kind and friendly reception staff.

Although it's on a busy street, the rooms are very quiet and completely soundproof. There's also a nice safety that to go up the elevator you must be a registered guest. Your room key will allow you to go up the elevator. I was only there one night and chose it for the location. Staff was friendly and I was able to check in early and check out late. You can leave your luggage at the front desk which I did but I would prefer if they had a system to ensure that no one takes your bag by accident. They locked them up and trust you will take the correct bag. I would prefer that they be a check and balance system. All in all a very comfortable hotel.

We stayed at the Goldener Adler for two nights in May 2017, had the room under the roof. It was raining most of the time we stayed in Innsbruck, which is a shame, since it is a beautiful historic town. But on the other hand, we didn't have far to walk to restaurants and historic sights. And some of the streets have arcades, which protect against the rain. There are a couple of tiny "stores" for emergency food and water just across the street. The disadvantage of the hotel is that it is located in a pedestrian zone and one has to park in a small underground parking garage or on the street, which means you have to drag your suitcase through the street. But otherwise, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was ample. Very small lobby.

Very convenient hotel close to many tourist attractions; Golden Roof is about 100m away. Reasonably close to the station - about a 15/20 minute walk mainly through pedestrian only areas. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly.

We had to park down the road though and carry all our luggage across a busy road in the pouring rain which wasn't ideal though. We also had to sit wait till a car to leave as the general carpark we were directed to was full so had to wait for space. The hotel is of a good standard and the check-in process was quick & easy. The lady who was on reception was very helpful. Unfortunately though as this hotel is in the middle of the tourist run the very small bar and restaurant are overwhelmed with people not staying at the hotel that there is no space for us when we wanted to have a drink at the bar. This is despite large areas blocked off and empty. A different lady on reception this evening was completely unhelpful when I asked about opening more space. Not sure I would recommend this hotel if you like to sit, relax & read a book at the hotel bar or if you are unable to carry all your luggage. Not sure I would stay here again.

I wrote a long detailed review of my experience at the Goldener Adler which TripAdvisor declined to publish for unclear reasons, so here it is again in brief format. The Goldener Adler overcharged me 12euro on a booking I made through booking.com. They refused to refund it when I asked them to. When I threatened to refuse the charge on my credit card they agreed to the refund. Avoid this place. They tried to overcharge me. They might do the same to you.

Given the constraints of working within a historic hotel they have done a good job of updating it with great amenities and furnishings while maintaining the character and charm. Although the room was not that big it was very comfortable, the staff were lovely and the location is perfect. The breakfast was good, (have had better), but our waiter was so charming and obliging after making a mistake with our order on the first day, he totally won us over.

This is a beautiful and quaint hotel. The location is perfect and the staff is so warm and welcoming! The breakfast was included and it was delicious. If you let them know in advance, they will make gluten free bread. It feels like a true, historic Austrian hotel. Loved it!

We stayed for two nights and can't recommend this hotel highly enough! It is really central so easy to access everything and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Even the breakfast was great! It has a great mix of the traditional with a contemporary twist. Please don't hesitate to stay here.

We recently stayed at the BW Plus Goldener Adler and loved it. The hotel is very historic, but our room was equipped with all the modern appointments. The location is in the heart of Innsbruck and could not be located better. The breakfast was very good with eggs and meats made to order. Lovely outdoor restaurant outside the hotel where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. We loved it and would definitely stay here again if in the area. Highly recommend!

A five star hotel for three star prices. Ideal location in pedestrian zone. Innsbruck is great base from which to explore Tyrol by car or train. Great skiing and hiking. The room was lovely, beautifully furnished, functional, excellent bed, solid Wi-fi, well lit, quiet. The restaurant is very good; the breakfast buffet one of the best we have experienced. The staff are brilliant--helpful, friendly, knowledgable. This is our second stay and we are as impressed as we were on our first stay. All this in a historic hotel where noble and famous people have stayed over hundreds of years. Super staff Excellent restaurant

I have to admit I was concerned to learn that this was a Best Western rather than a "home grown" hotel. But my concerns were misplaced. The Goldener Adler is beautiful, comfortable and right in the center of town. Our room was clean and well appointed. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. We had dinner at the outdoor restaurant that is part of the hotel and the food was wonderful. They didn't rush us and we spent a good part of the evening drinking, dining and watching all of the action -- including a marching band on the plazza.

We stayed a very agreable two days at the historical Goldener Adler. One of the major asset of this establishment is it location in the midst of the old town. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The traditional double room was a fair size for an urban hotel and recently modernized. Lovely bathroom. Friendly, informative staff, Another lus was the copious, delicious breakfast with plenty of variety. This was the perfect place to stay to discover and explore all that Innsbruck can offer. Would certainly come back again.

We spent a weekend here in June and had a great time. The Hotel is ideal for those wanting a taste of Austrian tradition, but who also like modern facilities. The room was lovely, staff all very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is all you need. The location is hard to beat, within 5 mins walk of all the main sites, and the cable car station to the Alpine park. If you arrive by train the hotel is a 15 minute walk. We would definitely stay here again.

Four of us have just returned from a seven night stay in The Golden Adler. The hotel is in a great position in the beautiful old town and is within an easy walk (around 20 mins) of the main station. You are never short of a restaurant or café within a few minutes walk and the atmosphere is great. The bedroom was large and comfortable although, we felt, in need of updating, especially at the price charged per room. We had the deluxe rooms. The two bedrooms were slightly different and it was difficult to understand why one had a dressing table with mirror while the other had no mirror at all except a long, thin one, on the cupboard just inside the door, which was very inconvenient. Beds were very comfortable. Towels changed every day. The hotel staff were polite, helpful, and very pleasant and, when a problem arose with our air conditioning, the receptionist sorted it out immediately and without fuss. We were moved to another room (which had more updated furniture and fittings in bedroom and bathroom). The breakfasts were plentiful and good. On the whole, a lovely hotel with some rooms needing a little modernisation and decoration.

Lovely old hotel with friendly reception. Kind of quirky, but with the modern comforts and all the little things have been thought of. Very handy location, walk outside to lots of restaurants, or it's not far for a trek up in the hills. Very nice!

Pros: 1) super convenient location. Right in the heart of the old town and a stones throw away from all major attractions. 2) decent size room. Not very big but not super small like others in Austria. 3) good breakfast spread. Cons: 1) parking. U have to park in the garage and drag your suitcases till the hotel! Good thing is they refund your parking fee. Overall - pleasant stay, nothing amiss - would recommend.

This is a beautiful hotel in the old section of town. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the hotel from the train station. There was a laundromat and a hop on hop off stop just 5 minutes from the hotel. The streets around the hotel were full of shops and restaurants.

We have enjoyed our four night stay in the hotel, it's great location, history and staff. We have rated the hotel significantly below Trip Advisors' very strong rating. This is because of an idiosyncratic problem with our room which was 408. But for this we would rate the hotel highly. Room 408 is apparently underneath the hotel's commercial washer/dryer. In the washer/dryer's spin cycle the room shakes and your ears suffer from the pumping of the air. The room really is not habitable when the unit is in the ending of the spin cycle. Management was responsive and wanted to accommodate us on when the unit was run. Basically it appears to operate through the day. During our stay the washer/dryer operated between 9 am and 5:30 pm when we were in town so no problem. However, during the several times when we were in the room between 9 and 5 we had to leave due to the discomfort. I'm sure there are issues with accommodating modern cleaning machinery in an historic, older building. We are sympathetic to that. The hotel's historic nature is the essence of the hotel's charm and a big part of why we stayed here. Nevertheless, a fix better than the scheduling of essential hotel washing clearly seems to be in order. Thanks.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the old part of town. It has been a hotel for many years and the rooms each are named after famous visitors, including Mozart and Austrian emperors. Parking is not straightforward, as it is in a pedestrianised area. You park in a local parking garage with quite a few steps, so best to drop the luggage off before you go to park. The rooms are very comfortable and the front desk were helpful. The one downside is there is no bar or lounge area to sit and relax in. As we were 4 adults travelling together, it would have been good to have somewhere to sit together at the end of the day.

This hotel is in a great location, right in the old town and an easy walk to all of the main attractions. It is an old building with a lot of character. There is parking available not far from the hotel but we could unpack our bags right in front of the hotel. Parking is also at a reduced rate. The reception staff, in particular Maria, was very helpful. We knew when booking this hotel that the rooms were small but we were still very surprised at just how small they were. The room was quite cramped with barely enough room for our bags. The room was quite clean. There was a reasonable selection at breakfast but the food was not high quality. In fact some of the bread and cakes were not even fresh. We have been in Germany and Austria for almost 5 weeks now and this was the most expensive hotel we have stayed in. Unfortunately it was also the hotel with the smallest room and the worst breakfast so overall although we loved Innsbruck we found the hotel very disappointing.

After the previous night this hotel was a wonderful way to end our 2nd day! Warm friendly helpful staff! The room was spotless - larger in size than typical and came with all the "required" items. This is a wonderful hotel - and we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Innsbruck

This hotel is located in old town Innsbruck and it is a gem. It is a nice cozy, warm hotel with everything you could possibly want. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very quiet and looked out over the cobble stone street. Breakfast in the morning was good and had quite a bit to chose from. The only drawback was the parking. They do not have parking and we did not know where to park. This was inconvenient because we finally found an overnight lot a couple of blocks away and had to lug our suitcases from there. The hotel does offer a discount parking rate for it though.

Wanted to return to Innsbruck after almost 30 years when my wife and I lead a ski tour to Austria. Wanted to stay in Old Town so we decided on the Goldener Adler Best Western. We were not disappointed. Rooms were clean well appointed modern and the warm towels were a nice touch. Rooms had air conditioning even though it was 4 degrees Celsius. Had a nice breakfast in the restaurant typical European breakfast of breads and meats. Also had a choice of eggs and bacon. Being in Old Town has car restrictions park in the public lot underground across from hotel Innsbruck. Drop off your luggage before you go underground could not find an elevator so had to carry it up two flights of stairs. Cannot say enough on how much we enjoyed this place. Wish I could pack up the bed and take it home ...it was so comfortable. We had room 103 it was great was in front overlooking the Main Street of Old Town.

On an unplanned stay in Innsbruck I can honestly say I could not have stayed in a nicer hotel. It is lovely and the location is fantastic in the old town. My room was gorgeous too (the mountain views were stunning). But above all it was the staff who were attentive and very accommodating (not knowing how long I needed to stay, they kept my room available and extended my stay as and when needed). Travelling alone, I felt very safe staying at this hotel. Many thanks and I hope to return with my husband in the future.
