"Staff - very disappointing"

1
User 08/06/2021

Very disappointing overall with the staff, worst issues were that upon arrival at 8pm on Fri night the desk clerk was asleep on the desk & same staffer was "high" on Sunday night. The whole lobby reeked of weed when doors opened. We stayed over the weekend & you could tell the weekend staff didn't care, their young kids running around the lobby, jumping on the furniture at 11;30 at night, was a totally different vibe Monday when we checked out.

"VERY RUDE STAFF"

1
Jason T, Georgetown, Kentucky 02/06/2021

I do not recommend ever staying here. Brian is staff member and is very rude. Not professional at all. Told me to "Listen" & interrupted me. Wouldn't let me speak. Said "you Kentucky people". Harrased me and wouldn't stop calling. Please save yourself trouble. Stay somewhere else!!!!

"Dated but Convenient for Downtown"

3
KarlWichser, Roswell, Georgia 01/06/2021

This is an older property. The rooms are clean and recently updated but it is an older building with low ceilings and narrow hallways. The elevator is about 3X5, ancient and creaky. It was OK for a couple of nights.

"Awful Place"

1
MSM777, Orlando 31/05/2021

The list of things wrong with this hotel is long. Two rooms, both dirty. One smelled of smoke. Changed. Second room had dirty sink and tub, no soap, dirty countertops. Other room had filthy tub (photo), hair on the wall in the shower, dirty mirror and a pillow with hair on it. Free breakfast is powdered eggs and nothing to drink. Paid a premium for a holiday weekend and will never stay at a Best Western again.

"Worst hotel experience in a long time."

User 28/05/2021

I reserved a king bed room. When I arrived, the front desk staff was not wearing a mask despite there being signs plastered all over the lobby that they were required. SHe then sent me to a room that was already occupied. Then sent me to a twin double, which was not what I reserved. The hallways reeked of marijuana and the room reeked of cigarette smoke, causing an allergic reaction that left my eyes puffy for several days. Got an attitude when I pointed out that I had reserved a King not a double, was told that the double usually costs more. WHy is that relevant? I just want what I reserved, what is so crazy about that concept? Terrible experience.

"I should had beleived ALL of the reviews!!"

User 17/05/2021

Awful, disgusting, dirty, gross, unprofessional and UNSAFE. First, they checked us into a room that was OCCUPIED!! As we were going up to the room, I over heard the women behind us in line telling them the exact same thing! Imagine if that was your daughter or son in that room and they just gave some random a pass to their room!! We come back down after and they put us in another room. We get to that room and it was like someone just through the bed together. The floor had stains, the chair had spills, the TUB WAS disgusting, like it had never been clean, there were hairs on the toilet, the mirror wasn't wiped off, the faucet was dirty, the coffee maker was missing the top part and the think including the tray is was sitting on was just dirty!

"Reservation for what?????"

Reserved and paid for a room on Best Western site for multiple nights. When we arrived there were no rooms available. The front desk told us the hotel overbooked leaving us and several other families without a room. They made an arrangement with another hotel, 20 minutes out of the area for us to stay, but for only one night. When we arrived back to BW the next day, we were told by Brian, the very rude front desk clerk that there was still no room avail. After alot of back and forth we ended up with a room for that night. The only reason I didn't give this hotel a Terrible is because of a few housekeepers that saved the day. They understood our frustration and cleaned a room for us to stay. Thank you Lu, Aretha and the other lady for making things work.

"Unprofessional costumer service"

1
User 26/04/2021

The front desk staff was very unprofessional and unorganized my room was not ready to check in until at least 9:30 PM, the room reeks of weed there was a ton of noise from the hallway and other rooms from yelling screaming knocking running in my music playing. The rooms were not cleaned properly the beds were half ass made there was hair on the sink, shower and toilet. If it wasn't so late in the night I ultimately would have stayed somewhere else but I was left with limited options.

"Super dirty"

2
estheticianjen2021, Indianapolis, Indiana 25/04/2021

I'm already aware I will get the same copy and paste response from management as everyone else. The rooms were disgusting and not stocked. No trash cans, no washcloths, floors were so gross I wore shoes the whole time. Staff was great though.

"Dirty Room, Unprofessional Staff, Hazardous"

BW+ in other cities have been very clean, polite staff, nice amenities. We came for one night of NCAA games based on the walking distance to Banker's Life Fieldhouse. When we arrived we were greeted by a non-uniformed staffer who had been fully laying down eating pizza out of the box on the lobby sofa. She did the entire checkin process without a mask despite signage saying it's required and posters promoting the health/safety measures of the hotel. She did casually mention that "she didn't know where her mask went" but it was disconcerting. Her printer wasn't working so we couldn't complete any check-in paperwork, and the lobby printer for guests' use was out of all ink so we could not print any documents we needed, either. We rode the tiny, dirty elevator to our room which smelled heavily of smoke, had rumpled bedding, dirty bathroom floor, broken TP dispenser hanging off the wall, and hair in the bathtub. We went down to see if we could change rooms but she informed us there were no other clean rooms available. She apologized for the smell and gave us an ozone machine to help with the odor. We were running late for our night's event and were tempted to plug in the ozone machine and leave, but took a moment to Google it b/c we remembered vaguely that they can be dangerous. It turns out they are extremely hazardous to humans and should never be used when a person is going to occupy the space the machine is in. We left our bags piled on the room desk and decided to try again when we got back from the event. When we came in later a different staffer had just arrived, she was uniformed and polite. We explained our situation and she quickly moved us to a room that smelled better and was more clean, though the tile flooring was dirty (could have been stained). We also gave the ozone machine back and explained how dangerous it is; she said she wasn't aware they had it and had never heard of or seen one before. We only had four hours to stay until rising for an early morning flight so we made the best of it. We were shocked at the difference between this BW+ and others we have stayed in across the US. Thin walls meant the man next door who was sneezing interrupted our short sleep many times. Final note - Though it is walking distance to nice restaurants and other attractions/events downtown, it's alongside a parking garage and empty lot, not a pleasant walk. Do not stay here! We will hesitate before booking BW+ again. Not the reliable brand we had experienced up to this point in other travels.

"Do not stay here!"

We checked in on Friday 3/19 for the March Madness tournament. I expected to pay more due to all the teams being at the tournament but also expected a decent stay. We checked in approximately around 1:30pm. We quickly realized we didn't have a shower curtain so we called down to front desk. We left the hotel around 2:30 and still no curtain so we let the front desk know. When we retained after the games around 12:30am we still did not have a shower curtain. We called down again and they finally brought one up but we had to install it! The next morning we realized we also had no garbage can or hair dryer. We called again and received nothing. My husband went to the front desk and got the hair dryer but they would get us a garbage can. We never did receive the garbage can and then the power in our room went out. We called and went to the front desk and they were going to check it out. After an hour finally their maintenance person said sorry I don't know what is wrong. He said I'll get back to you. We waited a bit longer and finally had to ask them to move us as we had to get ready as we had tickets for more games. The service here is horrible! For the amount of money we spent I would have expected so much better. Being a travel agent I am appalled that this is how business is being handled when our industry is already hurting so bad!

"Great Property close to downtown"

My king suite room was clean, well decorated and laid out to use the space very nicely. The staff was friendly; parking convenient; property location also convenient; and the WiFi was sufficiently zippy.

"Very noisy hotel."

Decent location, friendly staff. Noice from outside (was facing the road) was unbearable. Noise from room next door was extremely loud. Have never experienced this level of noise while staying in a hotel.

"Non-Smokers and coffee drinkers beware!"

1
christinabE1964NA, Atlanta, Georgia 13/03/2021

While all rooms are supposed to be non-smoking, you will end up in a smokers room! Air filters have not been changed nor carpet cleaned ensuring that all that cigarette smoke is thick in your room. Some staff members bring their children to work so if their attention is divided not allowing them to provide the service you see at other Best Westerns. Due to COVID, breakfast is very LIMITED and the coffee pot is frequently found to be empty. To have coffee in your room, you have to ask for it at the desk. Don't expect a newspaper either. Having said all that, if you are just looking for a place to shower while you visit downtown, it is in a GREAT location. You can walk to the circle, Whole Food and may Night life places. Since it is downtown near the train, interstate, police dept. and activities, it is very loud

"Great staff, property and location"

Located downtown near many leisure activity locations. The property has recently been updated and the rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff was very accommodating and professional.

"Nice up and coming area of Indianapolis"

After reading some of the reviews, we were a bit nervous about this property. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel had recently went through a .renovation. It was very nice for the price that we paid. The staff was what made this place. They were very friendly and made you feel like you were in your home town. A hot breakfast was another surprise. It was very fresh and good. I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend it. FYI.. We did walk to the Lucas Oil Stadium for an event. It was a longer walk, but felt very safe and stopped at a great mall, Circle Centre Mall and The District Tap for a great dinner along the way.

"Decent hotel in a poor location"

a9cm40, Nashville, Tennessee 01/02/2021

This is a very loud area. There are tracks behind the hotel with trains running all the time, interstate road noise, police and fire sirens, and a municipal heliport across the street with helicopters taking off and landing at all hours. Overall, the staff is very friendly and hotel is decent but the hallways and rooms smell strongly of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room.

Nice hotel. 3 floors and Clean. Cold breakfast during Covid. Great rate. Hard to get on the phone the night we were coming in. Parking is main level and free. Easy I65 and I70 access. Would stay here again.

"Safety, Food Quality, Housekeeping Concerns"

1
spedldy, Piscataway, New Jersey 10/03/2020

The hotel is being renovated. My door (349) did not securely lock unless I pulled it shut due to a bent doorframe. (I found this out accidentally after being there a couple days.) Hallway smoke detectors were covered in plastic and fire alarm pull was covered in painters tape. Hallway ceiling lights were hanging down. If a hotel is renovating, close down 1 floor at a time and put guests on remaining floor. Housekeeping didn't seem to exist...at all! TV didn't get most channels. Breakfast bagels tasted stale and orange juice was horrible. Common lounge area was unusable due to renovations. This is the 2nd year we've stayed at this LaQuinta and we will never stay again. We weren't satisfied with how many of our concerns were met with by the staff.

Don't go here . We just stayed for the Women's BIG10. We styed here last year and were not happy. They said they were remodeling and it would be done. Well no they are not. First the lobby all torn up, We were on the 3rd floor, we had three rooms, the floor was under repairs sheet rock dust all over everything, the smoke alarms and fire alarms were taped over and would not work in case of a fire. The rooms were redone not bad better than the prior year. Some days they cleaned your room some day no , one of the door locks didn't work very well. We called the fire warden to report the conditions as we did not feel safe. Also the lights were hanging out of the sockets, the emergency lighting laying on the floor. Oh yeah the free breakfast we went to the city market . WILL NOT STAY HERE NEXT YEAR With tax rooms are over $200. plus $38 a night for parking

"Scam"

vanillac2u, Burlington, Iowa 05/03/2020

Booked this hotel months ago and the website and every other search says free onsite parking...scam. You get there and then get told it's 20.00. You are lucky to even find a spot. They had 12 spots. 6 on each side. The rest were covered with construction material. Walls are paper thin, the elevator is something from a scary movie...just a bad time. Once you check in, you are pretty much trapped there, because odds are you wont be able to park if you leave. When left the next day, stood at checkout desk for 15 mins and no one came, except housekeeper who didnt speak English to help me. I finally had to call the hotel, while standing there, in order to get someone to come to the desk. Never again.

"Unsafe, dirty, stains, BUGS! YUCK!"

1
User 03/03/2020

Overall, my experience was horrible. I wasn't made aware that there was construction. I walk in & it looks horrible! I was on a time crunch and had nowhere else to go, so I stayed hoping things would be better in my room. WRONG! First of all, one of the elevators didn't work. The only elevator that worked was OLD and SMALL! It was so raggedy that it didn't even tell you what floor you were on. You just had to pray that it would take you to the right floor. It was shaking and was so small I could barely fit myself and my bag inside of it. I took three flights of stairs up and down for the rest of the evening I stayed there. Even one of the workers ... the WORKERS ... told me she was afraid of the elevator and takes stairs to do her job. The bathroom was so nasty. The tub had a light brown ring around it. I refused to use it and checked out in the same clothes I had slept in. The pillows and sheets had stains on them so my friend and I had to sleep fully clothed in hoodies and sweats. When my friend woke up from her bed, she found tiny BUGS all over the sheets! The only ice machine was down so we had to walk to Whole Foods to get ice. We tell the worker about the ice machine and he gave us a nasty attitude! He was rude my entire stay. No help whatsoever. I'm extremely disappointed because I've never had a bad experience at La Quinta but this was uncalled for. Look sat the pictures. I need a refund ASAP or I will be taking further action!
