Very rude staff and hurried service. It feels like a restricted and underfunded play group I personally wouldn't recommend but if you have simple tastes perhaps you will enjoy it there. I would also give the food a miss
the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very spacious and well equipped. Meals were substantial and well prepared. I would have liked to see more variety in the cooked breakfast choices
Need to cancel a booking on day, you still get to pay. Family member ends up in hospital so cancel on the day, still charged for room. Had stayed here before and given good reviews and told friends and family how nice it was. Not anymore. Very disappointed with their attitude
We stayed here with friends and found it a very mixed bag. There is no doubt this place needs a complete update but the essentials were there. We had a spacious suite with clean sheets and towels. The WiFi was good although we found d the shower inadequate. The leisure facilities were basic and the gym equipment was very sparce and dated. There was only 1 good bike. The leg press was a real health risk with exposed metal edges that could remove your skin easily. Very disappointed only made worse by the attitude of the staff the night before when we used the pool. She was so rude and unhelpful. In marked contrast to the pleasant assistant on Sunday morning. Jacuzzi was SO WARM while steam room not hto enough. We found the hotel reception staff condescending and a little aggressive. The restaurant staff were excellent. The food was overpriced and very average. Beware the puddings l needed to complain about the sorbet and berries which had 3 small scoops of sorbet and 2 raspberries for £6. The manager dealt with it in a pleasant and professional manner. Breakfast was good and excellent staff.
My wife was looking a few days before for somewhere near to stay for our planned trip to Beverley Races & came across here. We were a little surprised to find something that looked so good available so close to the trip. We chose the dinner, bed & breakfast package for two nights & were a little skeptical but as it turned out we were not disappointed. It is an old manor house extended to provide more bedrooms, spa & gym, with wonderful gardens, in a quiet location, free parking, a nice bar & restaurant rooms with a covered patio. At check in we were upgraded to a suite, we then used the pool & spa which was good. The room was a little old fashioned but spacious & nice enough. Staff are very friendly & helpful, location is great for races, Beverley or Hull all being about 15 minutes away by car, breakfast was excellent, dinner slightly less impressive but overall a great value relaxing stay & we will look to return.
We stayed one night with our small well behaved dog. The hotel was billed as dog friendly. When we arrived they told us it was an extra £20 for the dog, we paid it! We then took the dog into the porcelain floor tiled bar. We were asked to leave, they don't allow dogs anywhere but in your room or outside. We were made to feel like second class citizens! When we asked if we could go out onto the terrace we were told yes if you carry the dog through the bar. We had to have breakfast in our room, they did waive the £5 extra they normally charge for this service. We won't be going back but wanted to make sure no other dog owners go through the same thing. The people on reception were lovely.
We had the pleasure of using Willerby Manor for our Daughter's wedding reception and evening disco on the 12 /05/2018. From start to finish the day was excellent, All staff at the hotel where brilliant, and could not do enough to help, and always with a smile on their face. The rooms where very good and spacious, Clean and tidy. Breakfast was superb and they even remembered, that I had an allergy problem with certain foods. The Hotel and Staff helped make the Wedding a wonderful success, many of the wedding guests have remarked about the brilliant hotel and staff. As I said if I could award more than 5 I would.
very friendly staff, food at wedding party was very good as was breakfast the followering morning ,very good choice of food, arrived hot and quick once it was ordered. Staff were very helpful with dealing with the childrens meals. The only fault we found as did most of the guests was the price of drinks(£21 for a bottle of rose)but all in all it was a great weekend. Bedroom was very clean as was bathroom, would visit again
Loved our recent stay at Best Western Willerby Manor hotel the staff where all very helpful, polite and the rooms perfect for my wife and I, very spacious clean comfortable. the food one could find no reason not to give 10/10 we shall certainly stay again very soon. Thanks
I and my partner booked a room on the spare of the moment. On arrival the reception staff was lovely and very helpful. But after that it went downhill. The room we was in was very dirty, Even-though the shower room looked like it was all quite new, It was very dirty. We booked breakfast but that was a big mistake it wasn't nice at all.
The hotel was very clean with helpful friendly staff. My only comment would be the food and drink prices in my opinion were a little on the high side. The cheapest bottle of wine was £21.50!! Food prices also rather high although it was nice food, not excessive in quantity though.
Being just over a year since i last visited this hotel i had a very pleasant surprise on entering my room, to start i could hardly open the door (strange) but to my surprise it was because the new carpet was that thick. The room itself was premier inn good with abit Extra Va va Voom. The bathroom had also been given a very glamorous make over top spec here also Well worth a visit for these comfy rooms
Stayed here for two nights. Booked a double executive and single. They upgraded the single to an executive and gave us adjacent rooms, first win! Check and out staff were very pleasant and helpful and it was quick and easy. Room was large, airy and light. Shower had a shed load of pressure and there was a full size bath. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of cereals and fresh fruit. On the hot side there was very good porridge out with the cereals and a good choice of hot items. Mum had the kippers, biggest kipper I've ever seen! Dinner was a delight, all the food was well presented, cooked to perfection and was very very tasty. Now some have complained about the ‘confusing' ordering system in the restaurant come bar. Look if you can't either 1. Write you order down and hand it to a waiter of 2 go to the bar with your order, can I suggest you don't eat out and stay at home! Hotel has a wonderful garden with a covered and heated outside dining area. We liked this hotel very much and will absolutely stay there sgain
Stayed three nights and ate in the brasserie bar each night - excellent food and exceptional service from attentive staff who were friendly, approachable and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was comfortable and felt very much at home. I felt that this hotel had a more traditional and caring ethos and approach to customers, rather than having the latest fashion, and this made it a very enjoyable stay.
Stayed at the Hotel as part of a group weekend.arrived at the hotel too early to check in but not a problem, we left our bags and went to the bar for lunch. I had a Caesar salad starter and was amazed how much salmon I got, the salad was one of the nicest I have had. My friend had a steak sandwich which was huge. My sister and her husband arrived about 3pm and decided to have a snack as we had a formal dinner booked in the evening. They decided on a club sandwich to share. I was amazed when she was told there would be a surcharge if they were sharing. Having worked in the hotel industry for over 40 years I had never heard anything so ridiculous. I queried it with the barman who brought the sandwich and he agreed and said he would not charge extra. The person who had told us there would be a surcharge then proceeded to mock me by repeating what I had said in a silly high voice. I didn't challenge him as I didn't want to make a scene as there were quite a few other people around us. Very unprofessional and the only member of staff we met all weekend who was like this. We went to get our keys to find that our luggage had been taken to the room for us. The room was very spacious and clean ( although the back of the bathroom door needed a clean / repaint ) and had everything we needed. The beds weren't the comfiest and probably need replacing sooner rather than later. We had a beautiful meal Saturday night and breakfast on both days was lovely, although I don't understand why porridge isn't served at weekends? I had it Monday morning and it was pre prepared in a warmer, not hard to do sat or sun surely? Check out was good and I would definitely return to the Hotel. Just a shame about one member of staff letting all the others down!
Willerby Manor is in need of some updating. The entrance, via a car park in the middle of an estate is hardly entrancing and our rooms were not very clean. However the staff were all extremely helpful and the food in the restaurant was very good. Overall the hotel was reasonable value for money.
The hotel was ideally located for what we wanted to do, and was generally fine. Some parts, eg corridor to room, could do with some investment. Service was good, but the ordering arrangements for food in Figs Brasserie were confusing/not adequately explained.
Why do i say fine. Because it was. Ate out before arriving so can't comment on bar or restaurant. Welcome efficient. Room very good but would have liked larger tv for the distance it was from the bed. Very clean it seemed to me. Breakfast very efficient despite being cooked fresh to order. A great thing. From what I experienced good if you are looking for efficiency not so sure if looking for personal service and atmosphere.
The hotel is very tired and in need of help but our room was spacious and comfortable. As one who struggles with stairs the entrance was daunting with around 8 high steps so not good for elderly or infirm carrying cases. There is a wheelchair entrance around the back of the hotel but not the easiest to find. Our room was in an extension which also had steps and short stairs to main section and restaurant. It was disappointing to find we had to eat our evening meals in the bar area so don't expect table cloths or comfortable ambience. Also the menu was rather unappealing so difficult to make a choice. Definitely not worth the money charged. Breakfast on the other hand was in a lovely restaurant and the food good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The gardens are wonderful as befits an old Manor House. Probably won't be returning.
I attend a dinner dance hear so booked a room so i could have a drink, the bed rooms was lovely and clean and had everything that you needed, the staff was very polite and freindly and nothing seemed to much trouble for them i would deffently stay hear again
I was invited by my friend and it is her sisters rugby club “money event”. We had a starter, main, pudding. Then coffees .. all served quick and tasted delicious.. it was nice and hot. All staff polite and great service . I have been hear. Before and it never disappoints..
Great location, food is excellent, the gym and pool facilities are very good, its well worth a visit. The staff are absolutely brilliant. I would definitely stay again. My only gripe is that my room looked a little tired and dated, but this is a minor thing overall.
Immaculately clean, corridors are abit dated but rooms are lovely very spacious and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Spa was brilliant didn't want to get out of the jacuzzi. The hotel does let guide dogs train in this hotel which was lovely to see.
A Boots fundraiser in the Pavilion Suite. Willerby Manor managed to serve everyone a 3 course meal perfectly. Very nice food all arrived hot and no complaints. Plenty of bar staff on hand and table service.
It seems to be a thing of late that big hotels are being left to decay by their owners. The location is good, and the rates were reasonable, but the rooms and facilities could do with a bit of maintenance. We heard other guests complaining about various things while we were there, and our own experience was that some things were falling apart. The gym in particular had the look of a Rocky Balboa training shed, with various machines held together with duct tape, making clanking noises and generally feeling like they might break if pushed too hard. Against this backdrop though, the staff were generally in good spirits, and were very helpful, but it feels like they're trying to make the best of a "backs-to the walls" situation. The owners really need to invest in fixing this place up, else I fear it might not be around much longer. I hope, for the sake of the great staff, I am wrong.
You could not fault the staff, everyone was very attentive. Bar, reception, were all really accommodating and pleasant. Food was really nice and well presented. The BRASSERIE where food was served was not as comfortable as it could have been. We were sat at a table that was higher than the chairs, the chairs being heavy and difficult to move under the table. Couldnt have sat there very long as it made your back ache. Not sure why the restaurant was not open where we had breakfast the next morning. The spa was lovely and warm and very welcome given the foul weather over Easter. One only gripe was how uncomfortable our bed was the mattress was way passed it's use by date. Type where you spend all night clinging to the edges because of rolling to the middle. We had the worst night sleep that and some one banging doors for over 30 mins in the early hours. The hotels were large and fluffy the water hot. Overall the place is outdated and needs lots of maintenance doing. Toilet running, light bulbs out, worn carpets, etc. It wasn't very busy for a bank holiday and I think I understand why. The original house must have been beautiful in its day. The extensions was not sympathetic and looks like a huge care home or institution as you approached. However the gardens at the back were landscaped and lovely.
Staff are lovely, very helpful and cheerful. Helped with luggage to room. Sadly that's where visit went downhill, room was very dated, old fashioned furniture and dark decor. Bathroom useable but very basic and tired, shower worked ok but extractor poor so couldn't see mirror, hairdryer in bathroom was utterly useless - gave up. Room very hot overnight even with window open but with heavy curtains couldn't feel any air coming in from window. On a big plus was the beds were extremely comfortable. A maze of corridors to find way out (ended up on some stairs down to the cleaners room and laundry).
Decided to come after a short stay in Whitby and didn't want to go home just yet so checked in here. Lovely service and attentive staff. Food was really good and tasty. Was a bit strange having to write order on paper and give to waiter but I suppose no mistakes can be made if you've wrote it. Room was executive double and was a great size and nice bathroom. We had a good night sleep in the king bed. Will be calling again as enjoyed it.
Family get together and the staff were all brilliant from the moment we arrived to the time we left. They were so helpful in so many different ways and it really made our stay a most pleasant one. We booked executive rooms and they were clean and comfortable and represented good value for money
We have stayed in numerous hotels and beyond a doubt the hotel staff were among the most kind and helpful we have come across. An unexpected room upgrade was given which was clean, large and quiet, overlooking a beautiful garden. The Brasserie does have an open fire effect fire which gives a cosy feel. Look up at the plaster architrave when sitting down as it is stunning and gives a flavour of the manor the building used to be. The food was of usual hotel quality and a slightly different breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon was willingly made for us.
When you come to Hull, you are most likely here for another purpose than vacation. And, whatever that purpose may be then, the Willerby Manor will fulfil your (basic) needs: all but new, it is relatively clean, you have your own room with the necessary amenities, no luxury, but, hey... you are not here to be spoiled and pampered! So, do your (quick and polite) chech-in, climb up the squeaky stairs and be happy to find a shelter at a reasonable price. Don't expect the "additional extra", but enjoy a cuppa brewed by yourself in your little room and thank God or whomever for your absolutely silent and not noisy room. Get up in the morning and enjoy a standard and politly served breakfast, including all the typical English trimmings. Here again: nice, simple standard - not more than what you need on a short stay away from home. We did not expect the "extra" and we were not disappointed. We will come back, mostly because its convenient and quiet location and the reasonable price. So, if you are not pretentious, come here and enjoy what you get!
Stayed here over 10 times. Alternated between here and a premier chain hotel beginning with H The staff are really friendly here and can't do enough to help. The reception staff are friendly and exceptionally helpful. The cleaners are great and always give the room a good tidy after my frantic rush to morning meetings. The room service from the Brasserie is the best quality I've had in this hotel class. They even do me a bacon and egg on toast in a little brown paper bag for the morning drive in to work. (Because I'm too rushed to sit for breakfast) Only slight negative is the hotel is between renovating, so unless you know which room to book you might get one of the older rooms Great work guys!
The hotel has a good sized free car park. I stayed in one of the large double rooms, it was clean and tidy with a large TV and seating area. A OK sized bathroom with a good shower. The bar area is nice with a couple of open fires to sit by. Breakfast was very good with an OK choice of cereals and a very nice cooked menu. Highly recommend.
Very nice and Friendly staff, No Restaurant, so had to eat in bar, not ideal as we dressed for evening meal and had to eat next to noise crowd in the bar with non residents drinking and very loud. foods excellent and to good for bar meals. Carpet needed cleaning as had evidence of Dog hairs.
Just had a really nice stay, the staff were very good, friendly and polite. The standard room was clean and spacious with a kingsize bed. Breakfast was excellent (veggie breakfast) and self service continental. The only gripe (sorry) was the cappuccino in the bar. It came only 3/4 full, the pleasant girl that served it stated, it's just how much the machine dispenses. A bit like ordering a pint but only getting 3/4 of beer. Think it needs looking at. Overall a great stay, thanks !
The hotel is nice, room was nice, health club facilities good, the staff friendly but the hotel restaurant has a self service policy so you have to go to the bar to get your own drinks, you write down your food order on a piece of paper, the staff won't read out the specials so we all had to get up and go and look at them. Part of staying in a hotel is being looked after, so this was disappointing. That said, the food was good and stay overall was good too
This hotel lives on its past and is now 50 years out of date. No money had been spent on the fabric of this tired mausoleum. The carpets are filthy and the decor of dark brown doors is awful. The staff are poorly trained, casual and prone to chewing gum. It's a pet friendly hotel so be mindful that dogs barking may disturb your night but at £20 for an animal stay tells you how desperate this hotel is for income. The thought of what may have been in my room prior to my stay gives me the creeps. It's the dogs I feel sorry for! In my executive room, I requested my pillow case been changed due to staining and be sure to throw back your sheets before you get into bed. Housekeeping had to wipe out my wardrobe and replace lights bulbs. The highlight of my stay was that the heating broke down and whilst at reception a fellow guest was complaining about having no hot water. The best laugh is that managements solution to resolving customer dissatisfaction is to offer a free nights stay at some future date; the Willerby Manor does for hotels what Cyril Smith did for hang gliding.
Had a private room for a modest size family party and the entire group had an excellent time. The attention by the staff was great. All the food was very well prepared, presented and served. There was a very broad mix of ages, from 1 to 84 years of age and the staff were brilliant with both extremes. If there was any points for improvement they are the room would benefit from a decorating refresh and the wine we choose ran out. However in defence of the hotel it was one of their more expensive choices. Most hotels tell you they have run out of the budget range. Well done.
I had a great short stay here. The room was clean, of a good size and was nicely furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I will definitely be returning when I next need to travel up to Hull. Highly recommended, great for the price.
Stayed here for our wedding night so stayed in one of the suites which was lovely however the decoration of the room was a bit dated, could do with a refurbishment and the room itself was a bit small. The bathroom however was beautiful very modern and large we had a bath with jets in which were very relaxing. The staff were helpful when we asked for fresh towels. Turning up in my wedding dress (which was very large and heavy with two hoops and a looong train!) it was a bit of a struggle to climb the 2 flights of stairs due to them not having a lift. The pool area was lovely and relaxing just what we needed the day after, large pool area with a hot tub, sauna and steam room. Altogether it was a lovely hotel could just do with an update and a fresh coat of paint to brighten the place up a bit.
We had a lovely stay here last weekend. All the staff are very helpful and we felt they couldn't do enough for us. Our preferred room wasn't ready on our arrival but this was no problem as we wanted to use the pool etc first anyway. Pool area was lovely as usual and the changing rooms were much cleaner than our last visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing swim, sauna and steam room. When we got to our room it was as expected, clean, tidy with a huge bed and up to date decor. The walk in showers are excellent. We were pleased to see the coffee has been changed to Nescafé (so much better) We didn't eat at the hotel but did have coffee on return from our night out, great to warm up by the fire in the lovely lounge. Breakfast the next day was cooked to order and very good quality. I'm not really sure how anyone could complain. The staff at breakfast were very efficient and very pleasant. Thanks to the bar for the free ice bucket (usually a charge) much appreciated. We will be back next January, thank you for a great stay.
Having used the hotel many , many times, we decided to give Willerby another chance after a break of about 12 months following a previously disappointing stay. On arrival we were greated by name by the charming male receptionist and this was repeated in the spa and breakfast room. We went to our executive room and were disappointed to have one of the rooms overlooking the car park and at the junction of 2 corridors which made it very noisy. The room was less than clean with many cobwebs , the room was tired and in need of a makeover , pealing wallpaper etc , however the big sofa was a bonus in the sitting area and the bed was very comfortable and immaculately clean,on entering the bathroom we were met with a partly clean shower cubicle and empty toiletry containers , however a phone call to reception meant a member of staff arrived within minutes to clean the shower and provide new toiletries. We then used the spa , the staff are helpful and friendly and the pool is a joy , it was very quiet at 4pm and at one point we were the only ones present, the jacuzzi and sauna are also a bonus and really are the jewel in the crown at Willerby. We dined in the hotel restaurant and as usual the food is well presented and very tasty , perhaps not the largest selection to choose from but always delicious and reasonably priced at £80.00 including wine for 3 tasty courses. The breakfast at Willerby is again always delicious and freshly cooked to order and always plentiful, the staff at breakfast are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We will come back again , just a few niggles need to be addressed in the rooms , would recommend the hotel provided your priority is not the decor etc of your room.
I stayed at Willerby Manor for one night and was very happy with my stay.I booked a room for myself and my Labrodor dog Bigdave and was delighted with the welcome we got from the Reception staff. The dog friendly room turned out to be a Double Executive with plenty of room , a hot bath and a comfy bed.The staff that night were excellent as was Room service and I had a great sleep in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. A couple of things have stooped that final star.Dogs were not allowed in the eating areas which meant Bigdave and I ate in the room with a £5 charge per meal. The only place to eat with your pooch is the terrace and it was minus 2 so I was a bit miffed about being charged for eating in my room.Iwas also charged for two breakfasts but I was told to check the bill but I would have thought it should have been right. I'm in Hull quite a lot and Bigdave and I will stay again but us Dog Owners do know the differance between Dog friendly and Dog tolerant. Overall though a good night in relaxing surroundings with friendly staff
The receptionist spoke like we were an inconvenience to her and quickly checked us in. Room was ok,as expected and the bed was comfortable but the food let our stay down. The mixed kebab was cold, greasy and tasteless, like something from a box. The waitress just took my plate away without asking why I hadn't eaten it. I was still hungry as had left my main therefore ordered a cheeseboard which was good. The staff didn't explain the ordering process to us and we were left waiting a long time before someone came to us to inform us we had to write down our order ourselves. The bar staff were friendly and helpful as were the spa staff. Breakfast was nice and again, the service was good. Overall we would return if in the area but would eat elsewhere.
Went for a meal in the conservatory it was dreadful. microwaved the bread rolls turned them in stone. Microwaved the xmas pudding turned that into a rock what a shambles. Even forgot to serve the rolls with the soup but when they finally brought them after being reminded look at what we got. The fish and scampi for main courses where average to say the best. Then when we got the bill all the stones and rocks where still on it after complaining. Sent it back for them to rethink whence the manager came and apologised stating that the “new chef” was not up to it and would only see xmas out o and did we know they had a function that night for 50 plus guests!!! What did that have to do with us or our poor meal. Guess he was making excuses. Needless to say won't be going back. Such a shame used to be great by the way update the menu for goodness sake
2 days of being pampered with treatments including 1 hour of full Indian head massage then 1 1/2 hours of full body massage, then the pool / jacuzzi / sauna / steam room excellent hotel/ food / and all the facilities needed this so much
The staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and warm as it was very cold outside. The wifi has improved. Having stayed there before in the past, I find it a delight to return again.
About 40 ex colleagues got together in a booked room for a Christmas lunch. The room layout was great, round tables which let us chat to everyone. Drinks were reasonably priced. Our Rioja at £20 was very acceptable. The staff were very attentive and accurate with their service, well disciplined, a credit to the team. The food was brilliant. We had soup, then the Stilton Wellington-outstanding. Presentation excellent. The Cheese board beat me. What a platefull. Coffee and after dinner mints rounded off the meal. Compliments to everyone involved. Thank you.
It appears that the hotel has had a bit of an internal refurbishment and overall the result is a great improvement from last year. But...the dressing area in my room obviously hadn't been included in the upgrade, and the broken mirror was really disappointing, while there was a sofa it was so old and baggy that I could not sit on t comfortably, additionally the cleaning left a lot to be desired only obvious surfaces had been cleaned - a thick layer of dust on the towel heater. I know we're in “THE NORTH” here but leaving room windows open left the room really cold when I arrived and took ages to warm up. We had a great event apart from raw veg & I was looking forward to my breakfast this morning. Unfortunately yet more disappointment- my full English came with elements missing when queried I was told the table menu was wrong and the missing elements were optional chargeable extras. Ingredients weren't as good as I remembered from last year either. Was the breakfast worth £11.50 ? No. Overall a disappointing stay for the price paid.
We stayed for an evening in November. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The bedroom was large and very comfortable. The leisure pool is large and quiet. Breakfast is good with a lot of choice. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable and staff in all areas were efficient and friendly. Being given a free upgrade as they were quiet was an added bonus. Very nice leisure facilities. We will be visiting the hotel again without any doubt. Thank you.
Food was excellent and the service was very efficient. Staff at the hotel reception were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and promptly served. The bedroom was a good size. Even though the bathroom was a little tired looking, the whole experience was excellent.
stayed here a number of times for work. Staff are helpful which supports good facilities. the rooms are always clean and comfortable for a great nights sleep. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff. the gym and spa facilities are OK, the weights training area could do with a little more space, when three people are training it's a little crowded and no room to really to have a good training session.
Staff were lovely, breakfast was great (apart from the coffee) and the health suite was fully equipped if dated. The room however was very dated... Dark and very 80s. I feel like the pictures on the website are not representative of the actual rooms. We paid £80 for b&b and I think given the quality of room that was too much. Better off spending your money on something more modern or saving a few quid and going for a B&B proper. Won't be returning.
Booked this hotel to have a break and do sightseeing in Hull. Location was good. On arrival we were given a room and when we went in all we could hear was drilling and banging. I went down to reception and asked to change rooms. The receptionist pointed out that the noise would only be between 9 and 5 as refurbishment was taking place underneath our room. They were fully booked, I explained I had come away for peace and quiet. A male receptionist then appeared and was extremely helpful and found us another room. On the landing there was a small typed piece of paper apologising for noise, surely they should advise on booking that work was taking place. Room was clean but dull, maybe this is also due for an update. The pool was lovely.
Stayed 1 night for work purposes, friendly efficient check in and my executive room was clean, spacious and had all amenities needed, bottled water is a welcome touch. Good leisure club with good sized pool and good facilities. Food in figs brasserie was outstanding and very reasonably priced, I had the Maryland crab cakes which I would recommend. Overall a good stay
Paid a lot of money to stay.......£120 for the night and it was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have slept in for a long time. Very cheap mattress!!.....Woke up with back and neck ache!!.......So did my friend who slept in another room! Was really annoyed to later learn that another friend in our party had paid a lot, lot less for 2 nights......however I couldn't have done 2 nights in the bed!!! Expensive drinks - £7 for a gin and tonic!! I get hotel prices but really??? My husband bought a round at the bar - 4 drinks £35!!..... When challenged the staff had over charged £10!! - I get a few quid but "accidentally" overcharged £10???? We were at a function in the evening and the staff were asked many times for the DJ to turn the music down....which was done then the music crept up and up again till the bass banged through your body!!! Leisure facilities were tired. Jacuzzi was lovely, big and hot but the whole facility needs a face lift - my friend went to the gym and hardly any of the machines worked!! Wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend........Manor is a very grand title for a mediocre hotel........however 5 stars to the staff who were lovely, friendly and accommodating!!
I spend all my time in Yorkshire in this hotel, every year! It's in wonderful place, near the city. the food is fantastic. Rooms are large, well cleaned and full of optional. It's signed like 3 stars but, on my opinion, it's a great 4 stars. I'll be back there on 2017 december.
Stayed here for 3 night. I accept I probably had one of the largest rooms but it was one of the best I'd ever stayed in, and very reasonably priced. Staff were very helpful and efficient, restaurant food was of a very high standard, my steak was delicious. Pool was good and it was a bus ride into the centre of Hull. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and would stay here again
Stayed earlier this month, whilst the staff service and food were good I have to say the quality of sleep was not. The walls are thin and noise travels between floors very easily. Doors to room seem to be set with a return mechanism which bangs shut, it is not actually that difficult to set them to close softly. The footfall of other guest can be hears very clearly in rooms top. Biggest concern though was quality and cleanliness of room. The bathroom fixtures, fittings and door were plain dirty and stains on carpet and sofa made me think twice about even sitting down. There looked like some blood had been split on a light fitting! I have attached photographs so see for yourself. I am always concerned when the rooms or public areas in hotels are in this kind of state. Makes you think, what are the areas you can't see like.
We have nothing but praise for this hotel and staff. We visited here for 1 night on Saturday. The staff were friendly when we arrived and our room was nice and big for our family to stay in comfortably. All the staff chatted with the kids about their visit to the fair and let us flic the tv channels in the small lounge. The breakfast was delicious. The kids had a bacon sarnie and we had the full English. We then went into the gardens and the kids played hide and seek. We will defo be back to stay here! We were close to the bus stop to the fair and for visiting the crem and East Park.
Nice hotel the room was v good clean the bathroom was good and the breakfast was of good quality and serves This hotel is in a quit part of hull about 15 mins from the town Would I stop here again and yes
Stayed on business and am aware quality of rooms differed amongst colleagues. I can only say my room was lovely, it was spacious, cleaned well, quiet and with a comfortable bed. I slept very well. Plenty of plug sockets for charging various devices needed which is important when working. Food in the restaurant was ok, but seemed a bit eclectic, I had roast salmon main with beetroot salad which would have been lovely if not soaked in a vinegarette, I'd have preferred that on the side to add sufficient amount myself. My starter of halloumi egg potato and asparagus salad came initially without any halloumi? This was rectified but by providing the halloumi on a side plate when it should have been the main ingredient. Altogether not great dining
We were very disappointed with the first view of the front of the building . The access was terrible with steep steps up to the Reception area . however the staff were very helpful & friendly . Once again access to the rooms was difficult with suitcases as there is no lift & the rooms are around long corridors up several more flights of stairs. The breakfast was overpriced & the sautéed potatoes were cold 7 greasy as was the mushrooms & the rest of the breakfast . The room itself was clean but the bathroom was very dated & my wife was scalded by the water in the shower. There was a good bus service into Hull as we preferred not to drive . Leisure facilities were excellent with a lovely clean swimming pool ,steam room & sauna.
Booked this hotel for a one night stay. When you arrive at the hotel it is a bit "70s style" with a grey block of rooms - I was expecting an old country house! Reception though is ok and our checking in was done efficiently and politely. We had requested a dog friendly room initially but had rung up to cancel this part of the booking over a month ago. We were still evidently given a dog friendly room as it had an odour to it! The room itself was clean and tidy and the shower very powerful and hot - lovely. The bathroom itself though was a bit tired. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that side of things. The bed was quite comfortable. The morning breakfast was mediocre. The buffet part (cereal, fruit) was very limited, the orange juice was already on the table so not cold and the tea came in a pot with a broken lid so went cold too quickly. The ordered cooked breakfast had its highs - sausage was good, eggs were cooked well - and the average side - sliced potatoes were cold and bacon evidently only looked at the heat! The waiters wandered aimlessly around trying to find who had ordered the breakfast - a bit strange. We'll be coming up to Hull 3 or 4 times a year to visit our daughter at uni but won't be returning to this hotel. We are going to give the Mercure, just down the road, a try next time - will let you know how that compared in 5 weeks time!
Willerby Manor is not a particularly pretty site from car park at front of building! Whoever gave permission for the horrendous and large (1970's?) Extension needs to be imprisoned for crimes against town planning! That apart, the hotel is lovely and we had a most enjoyable stay. Staff are charming- very friendly and customer focused. Our room was a very spacious ground floor garden view room which was lovely. Huge bed with separate seating to watch large flat screen tv.useful desk and chair. Lovely 'current' check curtains. Large ensuite bathroom. Only downside to room was some dust levels and drips on wall near tea/coffee facilities and a build up if stuff in plug hole in sink- cleaner needs to sharpen up act but i wouldnt want to overstate this point. Well appointed dining room and bar with lovely conservatory area. Excellent swimming pool and gym facility. Pool area includes steam room and sauna. Beauty/spa treatments also available. Only downside here is need of an old £1 coin for the locker- these are getting increasingly hard to come by and will no longer be legal tender or in circulation by end of October. They do not have any old pound coins at hotel ! The hotel does need to address this issue. Excellent breakfast. Notwithstanding the few negative aspects outlined above I do believe that this hotel warrants an overall very good rating. Staff male your stay very pleasant and enjoyable.
We visited for lunch, my husband ordered a burger and found a long black hair threaded through it. We were initially offered a drink by the waitress (who was very apologetic). We asked to see the manager who replaced the burger and knocked it off the bill. Apart from this it was nice. We stayed in the hotel and enjoyed our stay, however the water did not drain down the plug hole as it was full of hair, something which is easily resolved on cleaning. The hotel is nice but needs a bit of tlc, a good dusting in the reception would be a good start.
upgraded to a terrific room, and electric fan delivered to room as soon as I requested it (warm evening!), massive ensuite, all very clean. Bar well stocked and a short walk to other pubs. Sauna and pool fab, nice to have a decent length pool at a hotel. Breakfast excellent and hotel set in lovely gardens. Staff excellent. will stay again.
Willerby Manor is always amazing whenever we stay here or use the facilities. Perfect for holding events, their events team are very professional and extremely helpful. The restaurant is first class, especially the specials, the hotel rooms are great value especially as the use of the spa/gym comes as standard. Very highly recommended!
A great hotel! Myself and my wife had our wedding reception and evening buffet here and it was great, they made the wedding planning less stressful, the food was great and all guest felt very welcome! Would definitely recommend!
Following a run through of the photos and reviews of the hotel I was actually reasonably impressed with the hotel itself Although on arrival at four thirty none of our four rooms were ready we managed to get in them for around five The four rooms we had where a variety including 324, relatively modern generously sized room with basic but clean bathroom and lovely view over the gardens. 301, much smaller and more traditional bedroom with a lovely new shower room, view over the car park. 109 on the ground floor with view towards the garden although been at the same level not as good as the second and third floors would give and finally room 121, again ground floor grandly described as a suite, but design from the seventies with rather dated material and bathroom, again generously sized and clean, view of the car park. Overall the cost per room including breakfast was reasonable to the local market although I wouldn't have paid over £100 for any of them for a nights stay The biggest surprise was the poor access for this of limited movement, is have through they would struggle as no matter what floor your on, there are steps needed, plus no lift so take care In terms of food the breakfast and small bar snack we had where of reasonable quality and whilst old fashioned in the service, and limited on space, we had no complaints Overall, if looking for a base in Hull or Beverley it is in a good location and was a pleasant stay
Although we got a really good deal on our night stay I would have sooner paid a little more for a more up to date room. Downstairs looks very clean and well presented but go up the stairs and things start to look very dated, plastic guards to protect walls don't look too good neither did the bails of towels etc outside most rooms this was after check in time, the walk to our room down the corridors looked dreary, money has been spent on money saving devises for the lighting, which is very good but could a bit of money be spent on décor. Our room 322 was a decent size but the decoration looked from the 80s not very appealing, dark wood dressing table etc looked so out of date. The bathroom although clean was again passed its best. The room looked clean enough apart from the dado rails which were very dusty. As we arrived early we had something to eat while waiting for check in I had burger which was very nice my wife had scampi which she enjoyed the Guinness was excellent. When ordering food one has to write it on a piece of paper which is on your table, never come across this before in a BW. We went to the spa for a swim and once again it seems so dated from the changing rooms to the swimming pool. As I only had a new pound coin I had to put my clothes in a unlocked locker as they only accepted old pound coins. (Who would have been responsible if anything had been stolen?) Evening meal we were greeted warmly and shown to our table and was somewhat surprised to see it was the same menu as lunchtime, although I really enjoyed my lamb meal the whole menu was a little unaspiring we wanted a dessert but there was nothing that grabbed us. The same ordering was also used at the evening meal, write on a piece of paper and take it to the bar, lunch time maybe but please not on an evening! Breakfast was nice, as were the staff. All in all a little disappointed but as I say we got a good deal.....or did we ?
They put on a well organised event for us, in a nice setting, with a room opening up to the garden. Bedrooms are large and airy, and ingredients for the meals were good. However, it was the attention and warmth of the staff that made the stay special. Some niggles though, not being let into the room till 3pm, and whilst many meals were raved about, ours were poor and only 1 star.
On arriving I asked if we could bring my mother for a cream tea and was told at reception that they like a bit of notice for cream teas. I should have realised that things might not run too smoothly. We had the cream tea which, somewhat uniquely, included whipped not clotted cream. Dinner had a limited menu and we were told that the system required us to write down what we want or to go to the bar and order - not the best system of service in the world! There are a lot of waiters who all try to please but they don't seem to have any real systems to work to. Saturday morning and no hot water. Told it would be okay in 20 minutes so went for breakfast first. 45 minutes later still no hot water but we could go to the spa for a shower. No apology. Friday and Saturday evening the corridor outside our bedroom stacked with clean laundry. Complained on the Saturday suggesting I might put photo on trip advisor and told by receptionist that I was aggressive. The laundry was moved and a manager apologised. Sunday morning found the water tepid - we just got on with it. Breakfast was classic - the breakfast manager (unsmiling chap) rebuking obviously new waiters for not setting the tables to his standard. He then went round the buffet table sweeping the bits in to his hand and then dropped them on the carpet. I actually got up and went over to check that I wasn't seeing things - I wasn't. Where was Basil we wondered. Such a pity because it could be really good and with lots of staff all wanting to help its a shame it isn't pulled together effectively. The cooked breakfast was tasty.
The current UK city of culture has always suffered from a dearth of good quality hotel accommodation. The Willerby Manor does nothing to change this problem. It just about warrants an OK rating - it cries out for a major refurb. Rooms are dated (1970's?) and shabby. Given the lack of quality alternatives, the Willerby Manor is worth considering but only if you can negotiate a good rate.
I'd been put off a little by reviews which said rooms were jaded and needed an update but our experience was very much the opposite. We stayed for a few days and had been allocated a room right at the far end of the hotel. I think this was because there were three weddings over the weekend we stayed and a sensitive management had made sure we had a good night's sleep despite the revelry. The food in the restaurant was very good.
I recently took a coach trip to Hull and we stayed for 2 nights at The Willerby Manor Hotel. Not one of our 49 travellers had one minor complaint! The initial contact was impressive and throughout the run-up to our stay, our regular contacts were met with a friendliness and willingness to help that was exemplary. The accommodation was very clean and spacious. The food was exceptionally fine and the private dining area for our party was attractively laid out and the tables were beautifully set. the pool and gym facilities were extensively used by our party members. The setting of the hotel in the lovely village of Willerby was attractive with beautiful, well-kept gardens and an extensive patio area. The relaxation areas near the bar was roomy and well appointed. We all felt fortunate to have discovered such a gem!
stayed here in feb for one night upgraded the room to four poster bed and the most beautiful bathroom ive ever been in it was so large and spacious. had a meal in bar on evening lovely home cooked food. comfy bed and after amazing nights sleep best breakfast had in a long time freshly cooked to order. we will b returning soon,
I have been here on many occasions for spa treatments and to dine out. The food is lovely friendly staff and great seating area around the back. The spa treatments are great especially the facials and aromatherapy massage. Best price and quality I have found so far.!
Booked this hotel as we had to go to hull last minute. The reception was modern and friendly staff. The receptionist told us that the bathroom had recently been modernised in the room she had put us in. Our room was situated downstairs. The approach to the room was tired. Entering the room first thing check the bathroom out. And yes it had been refurbished and was modern. However on closer impression there was hair on the floor and the toilet seat was wobbly. My husband says I have been watching too much four in a bed! The bedroom itself was clean and tidy however the carpet had seen better days. If you are going to do the bathroom do the whole room. Bed was very comfortable but the tv on wall was to the right of it and could not be angled for ease to watch. The restaurant has a very good idea you write what you want down. If there is a mistake it's your fault. The waiters and bar staff very friendly and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good choice. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
I booked the hotel quite recently and was concerned about the negative review on trip advisor. This why I have to put potential visitors straight. I met my aging mother and I could not fault the reception staff who found us a great room. We had dinner in the hotel and had a selection from the 'specials, menu which was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced for the quality The breakfast room is lovely overlooking really lovely gardens. I personally think it is the best hotel in the area. All the staff seemed motivated to giving the best possible service. I will most certainly stay again
Went for lunch with friends and we all ordered club sandwiches. £10.50 for wafer thin turkey (who puts that in a club sandwich?) streaky bacon that was barely cooked so had to pull out all the fat! So overpriced and service wasn't great. Hot chocolate was sent back as tasted so watery. So many other places nearby offering a better menu, nicer quality food and better service.
Dated decor. Threadbare service. Decidedly average though staff trying their best. There is potential here but not help by the tired furnishings and carpets. People smoking Uber windows doesn't help, left us stinking of others fags. Came for a race weekend. Wouldn't stay again.
Met up with family and friends for a meal the evening before a family wedding (have stayed here before and had a very nice, clean and well appointed room). Food and service was excellent. Fair prices.
The hotel was easy to locate and has ample free car parking. Some staff were more helpful and friendly than others but dealing with the public is a difficult task and so I really do accept that people can become defensive, anyway no complaints about the staff they were fine. The rooms were comfortable, roomy and clean. The same must be said for the bathroom. The windows in the room open and it was nice to have genuine fresh air blow through the room and to hear the dawn chorus. On a couple of days the tea/coffee making facility was not serviced. Breakfast was frustrating because the restaurant opens at 0700 and that made for a late start, you can pre order breakfast so its ready for you shortly after 07.00, well that's the theory anyway, but the staff loose track of whose breakfast is whose so your carefully pre ordered breakfast could easily finish up in front of someone else whose order was supposed to be after yours ( no baked beans on the pre order menu ). Breakfast had a disorganized feel about it. The dinner menu was so so. Nice food but small helpings, I complained twice at dinner one evening that my £3.60 side helping of new potatoes consisted of just 4 nice but very small tattys. There is I believe a gym and pool attached to the hotel but I didn't use either so no comment. The place is nice ,OK, average.
The guest rooms were very tired and the carpets had a large number of stains on them. The kettle was not near a plug and had to be balanced on a shelf making it unsafe if there was a child in the room. The room itself smelled of smoke as did the towels. We were on the ground floor at the front near the entrance where people were gathering and talking until late in the evening along with smoking although the smoking area was at the rear of the hotel. The breakfast was poor, the cooked breakfast was cold and the eggs undercooked. Overall I was very disappointed with the hotel. The bed in the room was uncomfortable with the springs being obvious.
Stayed here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions. Nice quiet area, loads of car parking, and you can actually open the windows, which was essential as it was very warm in there on both occasions.
Decided to use as a base for seeing Hull, City of Culture.Friendly welcome then, despite seeing us as two "Oldies", allocated room at the most far end of bedroom block.Fairly large room but consider facilities rates, three stars.About to book evening meal from a fairly unimaginative menu but, more specials appeared appetizing. Knew this hotel many years ago as our local, but regret it does not appear to have the same " customer care " as we remember Finally, although we used disabled parking ,we must rate the other disable facilities very low as there are stairs to all rooms .
Visited this hotel whilst in the area of Hull. Selected this one because of the brand and wish I hadn't bothered. There was just no going the extra mile... we arrived at midnight and the night guy said your room is up 2 flights of stairs (we were two girls both tired and the last thing we wanted was stairs!) he didn't offer to help even though we were struggling. Room was dated, could do with an upgrade. Breakfast the next morning - buffet ran out of items and our cooked breakfast came out wrong and then came back missing items. All in all I did not enjoy the experience and I would not return. I don't usually post bad reviews but I filled in the survey I was sent by the hotel with lengthy feedback to have a reply 4 days later saying thanks and apologies. This is why I have decided to review. I would also add we paid alot of money for this stay.
I know hotel options are limited in the Hull area, but this certainly no shining light. The room was grim, the bathroom worse. Fluorescent lighting, cold dated bathroom with dirty corners. I also has real concerns regarding the safety as all the clean beading and towels were being stored in the main hallway to the bedroom in bundles, a real fire hazard. The 'cooked to order' breakfast was disappointing. It may be cheap, but still can't say it represents value for money. It is not worth staying here and having the inconvenience of the distance to Hull if you are working there as it is no better than the central hotels.
I booked a "twin room" with spa bath online. On arrival, it was not the case. I called to notify the staff but was made to feel I did not know what I was talking about. She even told me people mistake occupancies etc on Booking.com. I insisted I knew what I read. She showed me online that nothing like that existed. I later went to my room to find it and took it down to show her. I asked for the duty manager. Not expecting them to "create a room" that does not exist but show some concern and customer care., especially as I explained about the health reasons for which I booked this room. While at the reception, I mentioned that there were two of us in a twin room (two glasses and teacups) but only one bottle of complimentary water. The response was that "it was complimentary!" And normally only one! Anyway, I begged for more water. Given that I had had a long day travelling - this got a litre too much for me. All I got was an email telling me it does not exist and if I want they could move me to a double room with the spa bath. I responded that it would be difficult. Typical hotels of this rating would either respond or the duty manager will show up. Nothing like that! There were a few other little disappointments including dirty plates at breakfast and almost not being able to order a simple ice-cream because "they stopped serving cooked food at 9.00pm" and we got there at 9.02pm. However a nice young man suggested that the chefs should still be there and they should serve us - hence the extra point. Plates were dirty at breakfast and myself and another gentleman had to hand our plates back. I think it could be a nice place - just was not nice for me.

Dear Madam I apologise for the confusion over your room. As confimed to us and yourself by a booking.com manager, there was a bug on their mobile app which resulted in hotels showing an icon that indicated a spa bath which did not exist. This has now been recified by the booking.com IT department. I apologise once again for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Your comments on the areas you feel we could have performed better have been passed on to enable us to improve guest experience in the future. Kind Regards Alex Townend Managing Director
A very large hotel not far from the centre of Hull I got a very good two night stay deal basically two night stay for price of one. Unfortunatlely things were looking a little tired a good paint job and new carpets would be a big bonus and bathroom looked tired. Walls must be paper thin as someone snoring in room next to me was a little irratating. We only had a few drinks in bar a good selection of beers were available Restaurant looked busy aswell
A party of 97 guests from Mansfield and District Male Choir chose this hotel as a two night base for weekend of concerts with both Beverley and Hull Male Voice Choirs. The hotel is conveniently located equidistant from each location and we were treated very well. The preparations for our trip were managed very efficiently by both Caroline and Abi and the experience was just as we had planned. The rooms are excellent, the food and hotel cleanliness just right and this made for a wonderful weekend. Thank you to all the staff involved.
Lovely large room lovely gardens but lots of little disappointments. Leaf tea but no strainer until asked for, no explanation of system of ordering (writing out your own)leaving us waiting for the waiter who had brought the menu, suddenly on day 3 our room was transformed by biscuits appearing, also tooth mugs, shower cap etc etc.Reception staff excellent others casual (breakfast table minus butter and milk jug, etc.
Came for an afternoon drink, helpful friendly staff, beautiful gardens and great outside seating areas. Place very clean, tidy and well kept. Only negative is the lager was flat and tasted funny, won't be in a rush to drink the lager here again. However lots of other drink choices available.
I stayed here for a work trip in May. From start to finish, I cannot fault the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff on reception. They were cheerful, helpful and responded exceptionally well to every query. I only wish I could give similarly glowing praise to the standard of the rooms here. They were comfortable but incredibly dated, with decor that would have been more suited to the eighties. The bed was comfy and I had a good night's sleep, but I'm sorry to say that my bathroom smelled badly of bleach and despite this, hadn't been cleaned sufficiently. There was hair in the bath - and a dead spider! My colleague's bath had a hair clogged plughole. Considering this hotel is one of Hull's pricier options, I'd expected more. There is a lot to like about this hotel, including a great pool and beautiful garden. If only the room standards were on a par with the service from the staff.
Travelling as part of a business trip in East Yorkshire. This is quite a busy hotel but feels quite personal. Managed to get one of the suites on this occasion, very comfy bed but why so may cushions? The room was quite old fashioned but in keeping with the hotel and as always spotless. The only downside to this hotel is the restaurant service which whilst friendly is a little slapdash. After sitting down I asked for a menu and then waited 15 minutes for this to arrive. For some reason the waiting staff don't like to make eye contact so attracting attention without being rude is a challenge. The food is of a good standard and well presented Overall this hotel is good and I would stay again in the future
We chose the Willerby Manor for a special meal to celebrate a very important 85th Birthday, having previously booked the function room 3 times for other family occasions and been very satisfied, Our table for 11 was ready on time but after that I'm afraid it was downhill. The food order must have taken an hour to start arriving and when it did it took what seemed like forever to finish the serving. Indeed, some side dishes arrived after the main meal was finished. The verdict on the food was really average and certainly not to the standard we have had in the past. Coffee ordered just didn't arrive so had to be chased. When I passed on our concern to a hotel manager he was sympathetic , explaining the Comic Con conference had stretched resources, but there was no offer of any sort to compensate. ( even getting the coffee eventually on the house would have gone down well) Shame as really like the place but just so poor on the day.
Meeting up with members of The Watch Ashore for our annual reunion. We have nothing but the highest praise for the Hotel. All staff were charming, helpful and met our every request at top speed. The food was excellent, it was especially good to have breakfast cooked to order. The gardens were beautiful. Our bedroom was huge, overlooking the rose garden. The bar, restaurant, reception rooms and meeting rooms were immaculate. Getting the building/rooms right is easy, getting the staff right is more difficult but the good staffing came through when we saw the way that senior staff acted and assisted in training junior staff and improving their confidence which as a guest enhanced our experience.
Stayed here for a couple of nights in order to sat goodbye to my Mum. Food in the brasserie was very good and the staff attentive. The bedroom was large (doubles as a syndicate room), with lovely garden views. Met up with rellies had not seen for ages, who also stayed and enjoyed the hotel. Had the "wake" in one of the rooms where breakfast is normally served and the staff did a great job, with food and arrangements. Thanks to all at the Manor. This was not our first visit and won't be our last.
The rooms are a little dated but for what we needed just a bed for the night it was good. Very clean and fresh. Staff are welcoming. A little noisey on a night with people up and down the corridor but not hotels fault. Would stay here again
This was our second stay at this hotel and it was even better than the last one. The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming just want you want when you arrive. Plenty of parking at the front of the hotel which does not look that great but the rear of the hotel opens out into a lovely garden area. The room and bathroom we had were both really good and the bed comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was much better than on our last visit. Definitely worth a 5 bubble rating.
Really not good. The Hotel is pretty worn down, the staff friendly enough but not up to any real standard, they probably don't get paid well. Rooms were okay but too hot, shower was either too hot or too cold, then tried a bath, but gave up. Bed was okay but smelt a bit. Having gone out for a meal (we weren't going to have food there) we came back to an empty bar. Just one waitress, no ice and no facility to pay for drinks other than on the room. I would not recommend this hotel, there are better ones nearby.
Very nice room good food and a good swimming pool and sauna had a very nice weekend parking was good lots of spaces .Breakfast was nice and hot great restaurant made a risotto form a vegan and the fish and chips was very nice too very clean hotel .
12 months on and still fabulous. Great staff ,hotels was clean , comfortable and had good WiFi . Back for our 1st wedding anniversary and really enjoyed reliving some of the magic of the day . Attentive staff, but unobtrusive and everything you need for a good night's stay. Once again you made us feel special. Thank you.
Room was really good and very well decorated. Had a great large walk in shower. Some excellent tiling in the bathroom. TV's are a bit small so bring binoculars. Bar has San Miguel on draught. Customer service was excellent.
Made a last minute decision to book a night away on booking.com for myself and my son. Hotel wasn't the best looking from the front but a lovely surprise when we walked in. We were upgraded to a family suite at no extra cost as there were no twin rooms. Fabulous room too. The spa is great - big pool, great Jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms and a really well equipped gym. Great food in the restaurant. Can not fault it for value for money. Beautiful gardens and the staff are really great. Well done.
A friendly Yorkshire welcome at reception, but unfortunately an inflexible approach to their booking policy. Hotel rooms are large and although slightly dated kept clean and tidy with crisp linen on large firm beds. With a choice of restaurants walk able from the Hotel, including the excellent papas fish and chips, we only used Figs to order drinks. Although the hotel was by no means full more than 2 tables at breakfast seemed to flummox the staff! With all the tables laid up, none seemed to ever have a complete set. There was always a hunt for a spoon or butter or a jug of orange juice. Cooked breakfasts were well made, but never arrived as ordered. Times have moved on from powdered orange juice and instant coffee of the 80's, even the big purple hotel chain gives you freshly ground! Continuing the 80's theme, a quick swim in the fantastic pool will remind you of the 80's film Cocoon. (maybe the local pensioners know something we dont?) TOP TIP - dont pay in advance, whatever the circumstance you wont get a penny back and certainly dont book the breakfast in advance as it's more expensive than the advertised rate in the room!
Thought our room was lovely, large and spacious, excellent king size bed and a large walk in shower.... The food was good, friendly staff our young waiter was excellent great customer service skills. I would have.no hesitation in recommending this hotel and facilities to others. Tony zzuk
Here on business and everything is simply amazing. Facilities, rooms, staff, restaurant, all in a beautiful setting. The room is perfect, ample parking, everyone is so welcoming and helpful. Can't recommend the food enough!
Stayed here recently for 1 night for a visit to Hull. The hotel is easily accessible from main roads coming into Hull and is situated in a quiet location with ample car parking. Staff were friendly and efficient on check-in and throughout our stay. We did not use any of the facilities, however the hotel has a pool and a fitness suite. The food served was tasty and to a good standard. The room however was dated and small, and in my opinion not good value for money. I would advise other hotels in the Hull area that are more modern and better value for money.
I've stYed at this hotel several times and it is always excellent. The staff are always friendly and professional, I usually have room service and you can order anything from the brasserie, the service is fast and efficient and the food is good.
Booked a 2 night retreat for weekend getaway. Reception staff were very plesant and welcoming. There are or seem to be a lot of steps here and I did not see a lift so may not be suitable for less abled. That said the room was spacious, situated at the end of a first floor corridor. There are signs encouraging guests to be mindful of others when entering late at night but can honestly say we never heard any other guests at night or doors opening/closing etc. The room was very spacious, well furnished and the bed was huge, very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The power shower was excellent. Breakfast on the first day was great, served in dining room with lots of little touches (orange juice in individual jugs on tables etc) and self service for cereals. On the 2nd day a large group occupied the second dining room and as a result only the second dining room was set up with cereals etc and we had to walk through to second dining room, negotiate tables/guests/kids and staff to access cereals/juice/milk etc - not great for the less abled and nearly had my breakfast knocked out my hands twice when returning to my dining room. Not sure why both dining rooms could not have been set up really, this spoilt the breakfast experience. In the bedroom on the tea tray there were only 4 small milk cartons and 1 biscuit for 2 people. When replenished the same was replaced. We noted the inflated bed price on the Saturday night into Mothering Sunday, down to the bed managers discretion apparently. I have still awarded this a 5* despite a few niggles. It was a comfortable and relaxing weekend stay, good value for money, close to local attractions with an impressive sunset to boot. Will definately return
The staff were very helpful and very friendly. We could not fault the food. The room was large and the bed comfortable. The car park was very large and easily accommodated our coach. There was a fitness centre for those that wanted to use it. Overall, a good hotel and we would not hesitate to go again.
I was in Hull for a two day conference and the twin rooms in the hotel where the conference was had already been booked up so this was close by, and having stayed in Best Western hotels before I felt it would be a good place to stay. We were not disappointed and because it was midweek we got a brilliant deal which included an evening meal worth £25 each and breakfast - more about the meals in a moment. The hotel is a bit tardis like and from the car park doesn't look that big, but once in the lobby you begin to see that the hotel extends backwards through into different large rooms, it's at this point you get a flavour of a quaint traditional 3 star hotel. The room we stayed in was a large high ceiling twin room with 2 3 quarter beds and an en Suite with a lovely rainfall shower. The room was clean though there were a few ledges/chrome rails that were slightly dusty, and the beds though clean were slightly crumpled. our room had the usual tea and coffee making facilities, tv and iron that I have come to expect. There was also a large sofa in the room and over all we had a comfortable stay. Now back to the meals... we had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant called 'Figs' I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and there was plenty of it. The breakfast selection was decent though the buffet was not as large as some. I had a full English which again was a large serving plus tea coffee and juice. I definitely would give a fig ! It was a lovely stay, peaceful and convenient I recommend it to anyone staying in the area. I wasn't able to avail myself of the gym and pool so I can't comment on them. The one down side to this hotel is lots of stairs to carry luggage up.
I booked this hotel due to the proximity to Hull University. My son and I were due at the uni at 9am so to avoid an early morning drive, we drove up from Leicester the night before and stopped here. We were made very welcome and the room was lovely with big twin beds and lots of fluffy towels in the bathroom. We booked dinner and breakfast, both of which were great. Good value for money and excellent overall. We had a lovely view from our windows of the immaculate gardens.
This was a last minute break to spend a couple of days in the city of culture. Wanted a hotel a short distance from city centre at a reasonable price. Having stopped at Best Western hotels previously we decided on Willerby Manor Hotel. The price for two people Bed Breakfast and evening meal was £96. We were given an allowance of £50 for the evening meal meaning B&B was only £46 for two people, fantastic value. The hotel was very easy to locate and there was ample free parking in front of the premises. First impression of the building made us a little apprehensive due to the distasteful extensions. However soon as we entered reception the staff were very courteous and helpful with a welcoming smile. We loved the interior and our executive room was large , clean and well furnished. The bathroom was modern and clean and no shortage of hot water. Trouser press, iron , ironing board were nice touches. I was contacted prior to arrival concerning a reservation in restaurant which was appreciated. The food was delicious , nicely presented and served by very attentive , hard working, courteous staff. Had a great nights sleep and finally breakfast was brill. Well managed hotel with hard working friendly employees, well done to all.
Renovate this hotel. Toilet seat was loose, tiles on the bathroom floor was loose, the reuse of shampoo and soap containers had been going on so long that the writing was worn of. The sink was clogged. The mattress was dead this probably happened 10 years ago. I had a cold during my stay and emptied the tissue dispenser, 3 new sheets of tissue was then put in to the old dispenser. The food in the restaurant is pretentious and to expensive. Luckily other guests recommended The Starinn pub for a 2 min walk from the hotel great food at reasonable prices.
stayed for two nights on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. booked an excecutive room with walk in shower. room had a seating and tv area, an enormous bed, bathroom was newly decorated and really nice. food excellent well cooked varied choice at breakfast and dinner. highly recommend.
Stayed just for one night, but booked an executive room. The welcome was warm and friendly and check in was swift. Our room was right at the end of a very long corridor, which at one point is quite claustrophobic, we feel that it is a point where an extension on the hotel joins the older part. However when we got to the room we were very pleasantly surprised, we had seating area with comfortable tub chairs, a small coffee table and a good sized television. The bed was king sized and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and very clean. The shower over the bath was very powerful too. We had a meal late on in the restaurant, but the service was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was very relaxed, buffet style for cereals and Continental, but waiter served for full English, the quality of the food was great. We will stay here again.
Room, staff, restaurant meal and breakfast were all just perfect. One night was not enough. We are sure to return to this haven of tranquility were the simple qualities of a warm welcome, very comfortable room and good quality food all come together with the support of a well drilled, but relaxed team, committed to presenting the best of this lovely hotel.
Stayed over night with our two dogs. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. Food was really nice, and room was immaculate, would definately stay there again.
A lovely hotel within easy reach of many local attractions. As Hull is the City of culture 2017 it was nice to travel back there. The Willerby Manor Hotel is a lovely place to stay with nice pool, the Fig Brasserie food we found very good, we would happily stay there again
Stayed here for 3 nights. Room was very good with a view in to the gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful. No real ale on due to running out, not a happy bunny, only Tetley smmothflow on as a beer (yuk). Was a little miffed that the lady doing massages and beauty treatments was off all weekend as this was a treat for my girlfriend. Still had a great time. Gym and Spa was really good. Dude in the gym could smile a bit more but he was ok.
This is possibly the best Best Western we have stayed in. Although our room was not upgraded it was still of a high standard and indeed superior to some of the upgraded rooms we have been in in some places. The restaurant was a pleasure and the value for money excellent. We will be back
We Arrived at around 18:50 on the night of our stay we booked this hotel as it had a Pool and Gym but were told when we arrived that these would be closed soon. It does not state any times on bookings.com but this was a major reason for our stay. When we were told where our room was we had to walk downstairs and the room was spacious but very dated and could do with a paint job. The Staff were very helpfull. We had a meal in Figs which is located in the Hotel. Horrible is the only word i can describe the food we had we had the Fish and Chips and it came with the Fish on the chips with the Fat dripping of it i could count on 2 hands how many chips were on my plate (8 in total).
We stayed at Willerby manor only for one night and had a lovely time. Our room was excellent, really clean, spacious and homely. The facilities were ample. We also had breakfast the next morning which was really enjoyable and the service was really good. Thank you for a great day would highly recommend and stay again.
First impressions of the hotel lulls a false sence of security, looks nice enough, but turns out its crumbling to the ground. The food is terrible..and the new menu doesnt work at all. Willerby fails!
We stayed here for two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. It was big with a sofa in it, as well as a desk and chair. The walk in shower was fabulous. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing. The restaurant was busy and very popular. Book ahead to get the time of your choice. Looking forward to visiting again.
We booked the Willerby Manor for my grandmothers 80th Birthday where we had an afternoon tea and evening dinner for her From the beginning, the hotel, it's team and organisation were absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much effort. They were able to tailor each event to our needs and what my Nanna wanted. The original room we were shown was not suitable/ what we wanted and it was changed without hesitation by the hotel. From the moment we checked in, the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and any hot you order so it's lovely and fresh. I didn't use the Figs Restaurant during my stay so cannot comment on it. The rooms were lovely and clean and would recommend the rooms overlooking the gardens. The leisure facilities are good and suitable. Overall, the hotel is a fantastic venue for a family get together and it's accommodating to what YOU want. What also makes this hotel special is it's relationship with Guide Dogs allowing it to be used as a 'residential' for new partnerships where the owner and their new guide dog live there for around 2 weeks to build on their partnership and work with the guide dog staff to get to know each other. For a hotel to do this is fantastic and allow it not to have an impact on either other guests or the owners themselves. Thank you Willerby for a fantastic weekend and for making it memorable for my nanna.
Stayed here this September ,access to disabled room through fire door.Unable to gain entry till opened, also ramp going down onto hotel car park dangerous. My wife's electric wheel chair slid due to badly cleaned ramp. Also disabled access to dining room through gym entrance is standard fire door. For such a large hotel group I find this totally beyond disbelief .Room large and bathroom good acces, only problem no grab rail for toilet. Also carpet in the room badly stained and dust around, to many rooms for the room cleaners to manage.Good points staff excellent and really helpful, food was good. Best Western I don't think more like average western, I've stayed in cleaner and more accesible budget hotels. If you have walking problems I'd look else where as no lifts to upstairs rooms, and as previously explained wheelchair access poor.
We stayed two nights in this hotel as we attended a wedding near by. The staff is particularly helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the lovely dining room overlooking the gardens is excellent. Everything is cooked to order and there is a big choice of fruit and pastries. The only thing we didnt particularly liked was our bedroom. It was their standard room. It was on the small side and in need of decoration, especially the ensuite bathroom. The room had all amenities necessary for a stay but it looked shaby. Too bad.
Approach to the hotel probably gives the impression of a restricted site and a little run down. But the gardens are extensive and rather nice. The public rooms are mixed decor, some modern, some not so modern. An extensive leisure suite seems to be well patronised by members. Hotel block has basic architecture but rooms are as one would expect in 2016 even if furnishings are a little dated. One cannot expect such businesses to have ultra modern stuff all the time. Breakfast was standard English fare well presented and cheerfully served. We had two evening meals. One was good one not so good. Staff were cheerful and attentive. Perhaps a little pricey but we could recommend.
I stayed for two nights as part of a large group for work. My room was great, really large (it was a suite - room 226). There was a lot of dark wood which might not be to everybody's taste but lots of cupboard space which to me is more important. The bed was really comfortable and the room was quiet. The breakfast was really nice - cooked breakfast which you could choose what items to have, plus fruit, danish, croissants, cereals etc. We also had a very nice hot buffet one night and a 3 course dinner the second night. We had a drinks reception before the meal and as the weather was nice we took advantage of wandering out onto the patio which has heaters if it is a bit chilly. This made a very nice start to our evening. I must mention the staff who were very helpful throughtout. The wi-fi is a bit fiddly especially if you cannot pick up the email with your code which means you have to keep registering but staff helped me to get registered. Everything ran smootly. There is a swimming pool which I did not use so cannot comment on.
We were attending a friends wedding, so we just needed an overnight stay somewhere convenient. Out room was large, clean and well appointed....although a mini fridge would have been appreciated. There was a leisure centre, but we didn't have chance to use this unfortunately, we did however manage to relax outdoors in the garden with drinks and a light snack before leaving for the wedding. Breakfast was good, the staff were all very helpful and we would certainly stay here again if we were in the area.
Stayed one evening with work colleagues. Decent gymnasium. Rooms large and a little dated but this adds to its quaintness. Beds are large and comfortable . Stayed in room 325 which was lovely and quiet. The food is excellent, I had the monkfish and my 2 work mates had the Caesar salad with salmon and the battered cod. Absolutely delicious and a real ale on draught. For Breakfast I had the Posh Bacon sandwich and my colleagues both had the salmon and scrambled eggs. Perfect! Staff are brilliant and cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. Large free car park and free wi fi.
Booked a suite here following an operation at Castle Hill Hospital. Wanted somewhere close by to rest and relax and it was perfect. The suite was spacious, clean and perfect for my needs. The decor whilst basic and simplistic, was not dated. The bed was very comfortable and I had a quiet nights rest. Whilst the bathroom was quite large I felt the bath was very small and I feel that a large shower would have been better. They made the best of what they had though. Breakfast in Bed in the morning was perfect. The bacon in particular was lovely. For an extra £5 I would recommend this. I got service with a smile. A well situated hotel for travel and good value for money. Maybe Best Western are missing an opportunity though. With a little more creative design in the bedrooms and bathroom I feel they would provide an even better and value for money experience. The male receptionist was very polite and helpful and could not have been more accommodating. An asset to the team. Overall a good experience and I would return.
My boyfriend and I booked a room to stay over on the night of the Jenkins wedding on the 5th August. The wedding was lovely. However in the morning we met everyone down at breakfast around 10 minutes after the rest of the group had already ordered food. We arrived for breakfast at 9:10. We'd asked the waitress if we could order our food once she'd delivered everyone's food. She sighed loudly and walked off. It got to 9:30 and still nobody around, so walked into the other room to ask the waiter stood there and he said he'd come through in a second. 10 minutes later, the grooms dad went and got somebody for us to eventually order our food. The food was nice once it had arrived however, still chewing on the last of our food. The waiter took our plates and we were told we had to leave now because they needed the room so we felt a bit rushed. The room was alright, nothing fancy but I probably wouldn't choose to stay here unless I was attending another wedding or event though.
We have stayed here for business for the last 6 years, it has been gradually going downhill but this year was by far the worst. The curtains were ripped in the room, the sheets were marked with bleach, there was no shower gel in the container in the bathroom, the fan in the bathroom didn't work, the radiator was red rust. The food and drink are overpriced. On our second night we heard the couple next door telling each other exactly what they wanted a d where they wanted it as the walls were so thin!! At £140 per night they have to up their game We will not be staying again,
Nice room, clean and comfy bed, can't say the same about the Toby Inn , the food was not nice dried up and fly's everywhere landing on your plates all the time, and joined us again for breakfast !! I have read complaints about fly's in other reviews there must be a problem within the pub/resturant.
Will not be coming again waited 35 mins for our food and when it came = 3 roast as tough as / 2 posh carrots / 2 asparagus / 1 Yorkshire and a tiny milk jug with gravy and a whole pile of fatty beef ..... £15 !!!!! Yeuk
Very nice clean comfortable hotel. Nice setting with easy parking. Modern appearance. Windows that opened onto the garden was a great feature. At time of check in the receptionist was more focused on setting up a "tab", making a dining room reservation, and pre paying for a breakfast than resolving the initial issue of wether the room was pre paid or not. Wi Fi was not good, poor signal and had to keep logging in after any inactivity, bit of a nuisance in today's world.
we booked for 3 nights in a deluxe room 317 it was an old fashioned four poster room which i hate (personal choice) one of the windows overlooked the kitchen fans which were noisy until 11.00 at night and the other window overlooked more ventilation when we turned over at night the bed was creaking all the time also i could hear people going up and down the stairs the next morning i asked to be moved so were offered an executive room 327 which we took as it was much brighter and overlooked the car park better then the ventilation shafts the staff in the bar and restaurant were very good breakfast well never seen anything like it staff did not have a clue what they were doing kept coming out with food going to the wrong tables then had to go back to kitchen to find out were it had to go the area you picked up the cereals toast etc was in a very small area it was difficult to pick up food without getting in the way of other people the first morning there were croissants the 2nd morning when i asked i was told if i waited half an hour i could have some which i declined as my husband was already eating his full english the 2nd morning i asked again for croissants and was told they go very quickly and there were no more this was at 9 still an hour to go for breakfast if they know they go quickly why not do more !!!!!! as i do not eat a fried breakfast i enjoy the pastries also my husband asked for marmalade a key item for breakfast one would say but the response was we had 130 for breakfast yesterday and we ran out gee did no one think to go to a local store and get some we mentioned this all on checking out and it was all written down but i don't think anything will change we stay in a lot of hotels and this one we will not be returning to
Stayed just the one night and couldn't expect better for the price paid. Got a 'special rate' via Booking.com for a twin room at short notice over a Bank Holiday weekend when rooms were generally in short supply.
Expensive for what it was. Advertising Pictures depict the back of hotel so the front when you see it is rather disappointing as it looks more like a block of old people's flats - hard to espy the entrance from the car park but there are some steps leading into the hotel which is next to a closed-down bridal shop. Steps are carpeted in black but they still managed to look in need of a clean. Corridors to rooms needed a hoover. Rooms were rather dated and noisy. Booked a meal in the restaurant which turned out to be little more than a bar to sit in. No table covers, place mats or drinks coasters. Table was tacky and had to ask for it to be wiped down but it remained tacky. Chairs were uncomfortable. Patrons had to write out their own food orders from the menus for the kitchen staff. Food was good. Couldn't get a coffee to sit outside and enjoy in the garden at 10.30. Bar staff were busy washing the floor at this time and didn't know how to turn the coffee machine on, so suggested we used room service instead and drank the coffee in our rooms. Breakfast was good. Breakfast room looked more like a restaurant should with table cloths and waiting staff.
Stayed in the suite - room was dusty and full of cobwebs and spiders in the cupboards. Think the bed had some kind of insect/bed bugs as woke up with multiple bites on the side I was sleeping. Couldn't sleep at all and had to put an extra sheet on top of the bed !! Complained however even after their cleaning there was still cobwebs and dust behind the bed. No formal apology either or formal gesture after our terrible night Wont be going back there ever again !!
Stayed here Friday Saturday for Beverley races our room was on first floor quite large room but a little tired , bed so uncomfortable dreaded going to bed as waking up being unable to move toilet had sign on pump handle continuous when used in bath was a soap holder which quite high and ending up smacking my head. On it so beware as right in way if you not so tall breakfast was awful bacon that's was so hard you couldn't put knife through it as for poached egg well was more like boiled on. Sunday we was in another room for breakfast so had to traipse right through into other room for food not impressed staff was polite but some seemed to not know what they was doing served purpose off stay but would not return
The Willerby Manor is easy enough to find, well sign posted and convenient if you need to visit Hull and perhaps would rather not stay in the city! The hotel has attractive gardens and plenty of parking. Having said this, it is also true to say that the Willerby Manor is a little frayed around the edges and could benefit from some redecoration here and there. Don't let this put you off though unless you really need to be in a hotel with a top notch interior. I say this because the WM is tremendous value. For a modest price you will get a reasonably sized room and bathroom, admittedly a bit dated but good enough, decent food -especially breakfast, and access to a gym and swimming pool. Again the gym and pool are showing their age but the pool is quite large and the gym well equipped. The staff are nice and attentive at the hotel too. The receptionist especially charming.
Stayed here for a family wedding, and to be honest for the price of the rooms we expected more. Room was tired with peeling wallpaper and lots of dust, furniture was very old fashioned and well used. Bathroom was also well worn. Don't get me wrong if it had been a bit cheaper i wouldn't have minded so much. Breakfast also was disappointing, ingredients didn't seem to be of great quality, we have had much better breakfasts in hotels which cost less than half the price. The reception and public areas are quite modern and nice, but the corridors are a bit grubby. Staff are on the whole good, but breakfast service leaves a lot to be desired. The wedding itself was lovely and the food at the wedding was very nice. Drinks are quite expensive though. The grounds are really lovely, great for an afternoon stroll. to conclude unless i had a very good reason i wouldn't stay here again, i'd pay much less have a brighter room and stay at a premier inn.
Poor to say the least room was not cleaned properly, breakfast was horrid spoke to the staff and they disappeared. Expensive to have a drink won't stay agin yet again Best Western take your money and give poor value. One point generally staff are lovely just pushing water uphill
Our second visit again not dissapointed room refurbished lovely walk in shower large bed and room staff all friendly breakfasts good just need a little supervising on not ordering cooked breakfast too soon as we're bringing it out before had fruit or cereals therefore had to be taken back and then bit dried up lovely selection though in a convenient location near to bus stops cleanliness of room excellent nice to have free water every day especially has weather was hot outside lovely swimming facilities etc
Staying here on business ...checked in, hotel looked dated but clean. Got to my room ..it was dated but again looked clean ... Went into to bathroom to find toilet had been used and lsomething floating in it ....staff came and cleaned it ... But would not stay here again ...
Stayed for two nights with family. The room was ok but not to a good standard of cleanliness with some cobwebs and mould in the bathroom. My daughter dropped something and found it under the bed which clearly had not been cleaned at all. The provision of a campsite style hairdryer was certainly not expected and I was pleased I was not staying on business where a professional appearance would have been required. Having stayed in several "budget" hotels with very good beds we were very disappointed in the quality of the beds. Breakfast was disappointing - particularly the provision of instant coffee for breakfast is really not acceptable any more! We had a meal in the lounge/bar which has a lovely atmosphere , the staff were very friendly and the food was good.
Another reasonable stay at Willerby Manor. Lovely gardens and attractive room for breakfast. A number of rooms to sit and socialise. Good choice at breakfast though hot food could have been hotter! The bedroom was a little tired. The leisure pool is a great size for a hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly.
The staff on the reception desk were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. They sorted out a problem with the booking (made by Best Western) straight away. The rooms were fine and one of the two we booked looked out over the garden at the back which was much nicer than the other one which overlooked the car park, The car park is very big so plenty of parking spaces. Unfortunately the only thing letting this hotel down was the breakfast service. The hot dishes are cooked to order which is great - however if when you request something and then it duly arrives the exact opposite of the request. When brought to a waiters attention his answer was - well i passed it on to the chef - not his problem then. There was one lady serving who apologised for the mistake. Overall a great stay, good hotel & lovely grounds and almost an excellent. Would we come back again - yes we would.
We booked three rooms here recently as we were attending a wedding in the area. Booking was very easy and the rooms were spacious and very clean. We had no problem getting a room with walk-in shower for my mother-in-law. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. Kassy and Hannah on reception were particularly pleasant yet very efficient. There are spa facilities and a lovely garden. I would have no hesitation in both recommending this hotel or in using it again.
Stayed here for 2 nights room was spacious and clean staff friendly food fantastic would definitely recommend this hotel. Full of business men so if you don't mind loud voices as the drink takes hold you will be fine . The gardens are wonderful and are well kept . There are tea and coffee facilities in the room my only criticism is that not enough tea bags and milk are left .
Spent two nights here in June for a wedding. A superb venue, well organised, relaxing and lovely food. Enjoyed the spa and we had the biggest bedroom we have ever stayed in, in the UK. Lovely gardens too.
Stayed here for one night on business and have to say I was impressed with the level of service I was given. The room I was allocated was great, as was the meal in the restaurant. The hotel boasts it's own pool which guests can use along with the gym.
We stayed in the dog friendly rooms which were very clean and spacious. It was quiet and peaceful with lovely gardens that had been kept well from the times when this was an independent stately home. We really enjoyed the swimming pool and steam room and the gym was larger than your usual hotel gym. Food ok possibly a bit pricey but generally a very good stay. We booked and paid through Tesco Clubcard.
An excellent hotel. The rooms were clean and well appointed and the beds were comfortable. Without exception, the staff were friendly and professional. We had dinner and breakfast which were both good. If the crab starter is on the menu, choose it - it's exceptional. The gardens are also pleasant and maintained to a high standard.
Arrived at reception and asked if we could upgrade our room which they did without charge. Excellent service from friendly young lady on reception. Hotel is old manor with ugly brick extension looks nothing from front but lovely garden at rear of property makes it special. Very quiet location but not far from Willerby centre, a Waitrose and some other facilities. Satnav found easily. Had DB&B package. Dinner was good served in brasserie, not a typical hotel restaurant, which overlooked the garden. Good choice of food and drinks. Breakfast was good too served in a different area. Service was prompt and friendly. Short drive to Park and Ride along riverside.
Lovely hotel set in fabulous grounds, shame weather wasn't of the best to further enjoy sitting out in the terrace. Rooms are of good size, and as usual with Best Western, well appointed. Excellent Health Club facilities.
Pleasant. Out of the centre but park like grounds and lovely indoor pool. Takes your swimming trunks! Staff nice. Bar ok. Breakfast a bit greasy but filling. Coffee could be better. Perfect for a one night visit for business.
I was here for one night while on business with the area. The hotel doesn't look too good from the outside but plenty of free parking and much better on the inside. However round the back of the hotel, its lovely with nice gardens and lovely views when sitting down for breakfast. Check in was somewhat painless but I did feel like the reception staff couldn't be bothered, she seemed to be a little agitated, maybe a busy day. The same staff member slammed down the phone on what I hope was a colleague in the morning. Service at breakfast and dinner were also a little off. They have a weird ordering system where you write down your order, then was confirmed back to us like 3 times which meant food took a while. However the evening meal was very nice. The rooms were of a good size and I had one of the best hotel sleeps i've had in a long while which was a big thumbs up from me. The room has a flower box outside window which was a nice touch. Breakfast was a small letdown with horrible sausages and again slow service with incorrect items. Overall I would stay again if in the area, decent hotel and a good price with leisure facilities too and decent Wi-Fi
Well appointed in all respects underpinned with attentive pleasant service . Everything I needed. As others have remarked the exterior is unusual and there is a flight of steps up to reception which needs to be made clear before booking. Agreed the lack of lift is pointed out but not these steps.
Beautiful hotel. Traditional and spacious rooms. Well worth the 85 pounds we paid for bed and breakfast. We made good use of the swimming pool and wished we had booked x2 nights. Staff service including the house keeping ,who posted out a left article to me, were excellent. We taxied to and from a brilliant rod Stewart concert through a company recommended by the hotel for an amazing 6.50 each way. We gave them a good tip as it was quite a few miles to the venue. Would love to return
Attended a business meeting at this hotel as was really surprised with the quality of the function rooms and hotel. Entrance way was a little odd as the exterior looked a miss-mash of buildings, however on entry found the place to be lovely. Inviting looking Brasserie, signs showed a great range of activities for guests, lovely interiors in general, especially the function room we were in. Very modern take on old style architecture with lights within beams, bare brick and plush carpets. Really nice venue. Just from a business trip I'd seriously think of using the hotel for future events in Hull.
We had a fantastic time as we booked this hotel as we were watching Rod Stewart in concert ! The hotel was excellent, the room was an upgrade, and was worth the difference. Our room was very spacious , with a nice settee , and had been newly updated . Food at the hotel , could not be faulted, we had dinner there, as well as breakfast. All,in all an excellent trip PS. Sir Rod was also fantastic !
We had quite a nice large room on the front of the hotel. It seemed that the room originally, was two rooms, which would have been small but this was now spacious. We did not have dinner but the breakfasts we had ( included in some of the rates) were good. I liked the gardens, quite location, easy parking and that they were dog friendly. Will certainly consider staying here again. My only compliant would be that the wifi seemed tricky to use and the staff couldn't fix it for me.
I stayed for one night on business. It was fine and good value. As a business visitor I am generally underwhelmed by these "wedding hotels". The delightful statue in the garden and well appointed ballroom pass me by as I try to plug in both and laptop and kettle and work in my room. The room was alright and the dressing table big enough to work at. 2 sockets is never really enough and I wish the lighting was better for working. But I do understand their main clientele is a function guest. The room was generally clean but the cobwebs behind the TV where worrying. I do like having an ironing board in the room. Bonus. Bed was fine. Window opened; essential. Service at breakfast and breakfast again was OK, lovely view over garden. Reception service was good. No lift and quite a few steps and stairs.
Came here for our friends wedding. Arrived the day before and took advantage of the spa facilities and pool. The room we had was large and comfortable. We found the staff to be very helpful, very polite and approachable. Drinks in the bar were a little pricey, but what you would expect in a hotel really. The wedding itself was really wonderful, the hotel had everything covered and it ran like clockwork - the staff were very attentive to the bridge and groom and the guests. Beautiful grounds to have a wonder round. Breakfast was excellent - nothing was too much trouble.
Good place to go for lunch especially in the summer where the gardens are great if you have children. Great food great atmosphere. Lovely place to visit with family and friends. Easy to get to - have enjoyed many great evenings out there too.
We stayed for 1 night prior to a class we had booked elsewhere the next day. The hotel was OK but could do better. Entrance hall; dirty carpets. Not a good advert. Reception staff nice (glass copunter really grubby - didnt want to put my hand on it!). Staff: really friendly and helpful Room: Good: upgraded! Comfortable beds Bad: Room stank of TCP (? why - had to open all windows) Carpet in room looked grubby - like it hadnt been hoovered. Food: Ate Dinner & Breakfsat: Dinner: Hmmmm what can I say? We had Fish and chips (nice fish, awfully oily which had seeped into the chips which would have been nice if they hadnt been in a pool of oil). Burger: Kate loved it but said it had an unusual aniseeed taste. Puddings: sticky toffee pudding: lovely Breakfast: Wonderful! Freshly cooked. Pool: Nice, a little cold. Changing rooms need an update. Gardens: lovely. All in all, not bad for the money but could do with a little more of careful eye from the manager in terms of presenting itself in the best way it can & cleanliness? Staff however, were genuinely lovely.
Stayed here when on business. Staff on reception were very helpful and friendly upon arrival. The room was a little dated yet nice all the same. Very comfy bed, flat screen TV and decent shower. I ate at the reateraunt every night, was slightly disappointed as the menu looked very exciting and the food, although nice did not live up to expectation. Very nice outdoor seating area added to the experience. A gym, good size pool and sauna were all included which were great after a tough day. Gym is small but has the essentials. Breakfast was good also, with the best porridge j have ever had! Slightly on the expensive side for what you get compared to other places I have stayed but I enjoyed my stay nonetheless.
I've stayed at the Willerby Manor Hotel a few times on business and I've always found it a good experience. The reception staff are always efficient and friendly. The restaurant staff are good too. The food in the restaurant is always very tasty and well presented both from the menu and the specials board. The rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms and very clean. Breakfast is good with the cooked food made to order and good quality. They have a pool and gym but as I'm usually there for a meeting I don't usually have time to use it. I like staying here.
Easy to find with free parking. Original building beautiful but spoily by ugly huge extension. Not at all attractive Spacious room which was clean but over powering smell from bathroom of cleaning products. When that smell disappeared it was replaced by a bad drain smell Bathroom dated Small dressing room area Only 1 bottle of water and one packet of biscuits (2 in the pack) for 2 guests King size bed with lovely linen but horrible cheap lumpy pillows Lot of noise from the people in the upstairs room walking around Gardens are beautiful Breakfast and service was exceotional
Clean and tidy hotel. No frills hotel. I did not visit the restaurant so cannot comment on food quality or service. I booked online and I'm certain breakfast was included in my booking but on arrival I was informed that there would be an extra charge for breakfast. There was no way breakfast would be included as a good will gesture. Nevermind. Good parking.
Really thought this hotel was value for money, was very clean and all staff very friendly. Excellent garden/terrace. No doubt a little tired, but it was very clean. I have stayed in new hotels that have been not so clean so much prefer it this way around.
Had an overnight stay at this hotel, 4 sisters and mum, for a relaxing night away. A special thank you to Chris, Duty Manager who couldn't do enough to help us and ensure we had a good stay. The hotel accomadated our room requests for quietness and being close together and the staff in the hotel was very pleasant and helpful on check in and during our stay. Rooms were nice and clean and had everything we needed (although not all hairdryers worked). Breakfast was very good and we used the spa which again was suitable for the time we was there. We had a quick drink in the bar and gardens which was quite nice too. We would return, knowing it was a safe, friendly accomadating hotel. Thank you
decent english breakfast but not rich continental buffet. Rooms sized above average in UK. The only issue could be due to cracking floor boards. you can hear walking through your door. Anyway I stayed 2 nights and I have no complaints. Amazing garden/terrace. Female staff more kind and professional than male one.
We were guests at a recent wedding. We found the hotel very accommodating. The food especially for the buffet was superb. The friendly helpful staff were always attentive and yet non intrusive. I would say the hotel helped to make the wedding a resounding success.
I've stayed at the Willerby Manor several times now; all on work occasions. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean, it serves decent food and the facilities are good. Also for all you food allergy sufferers out there.... I have a gluten allergy and they have catered for me on each stay without hesitation. It definitely gets my recommendation.
This hotel was our choice for our recent wedding and all I can say is they so know how to do a party.. The management and staff were simply superb. Nothing was to much trouble and all our expectations were met above and beyond everything we required. I stayed 2 nights in the honeymoon suite , very nice indeed...and also enjoyed the pool and health club very much, clean and well looked after. Food was excellent and again service could not be faulted in anyway. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. . 10 out of 10.
Rooms are pretty run down - no change since we stayed here last maybe 5 yrs ago. Carpets are threadbare - really needs money spending on it. We only stayed here because our family live around the corner. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster. Full cooked breakfast was all pretty inedible, boiled eggs and toast soldiers were boiled rock hard. Will look further afield next time despite the inconvenience.
One night stay. Sounds grand and posh, it's average. Room was a little tired, and felt old fashioned with a slightly musty smell. Slept well, breakfast was freshly cooked, although I'm still waiting for the ketchup, staff seemed a little flustered and rushed, porridge had run out causing mild panic it seems.
Although this hotel was very comfortable and clean I found it to be quite dated, dark wood furniture and heritage green walls! The TV was on the wall at an awkward angle to watch from the chairs even when moved . On the plus side the breakfast was lovely. The main entrance to the hotel is not sign posted could of done with a sign saying entrance or reception.
friendly staff that welcomed me in the middle of the night very warm welcome. surprised me by upgrading my regular room to a suite. house keeping are at the top performance. compliments to entire staff who made my stay very pleasant and memorable. definitely recommend to friends
A lovely hotel in all respects. Beautiful grounds, nice bar/restaurant, great pool and jacuzzi. Friendly, helpful, polite and courteous staff in reception, catering, housekeeping and leisure. Rooms are traditional but tastefully decorated and provided with nice tea, coffee and biscuits. Comfy beds, too. Thank you Willerby Manor for providing some much-needed relaxation. Would highly recommend in all areas. Thanks again.
Stayed for 3 nights in March this year and found the room a bit tired & could do with some updating. TV was positioned on the wall right at the corner without an extender so I could not see the telly if sitting at the dressing table. Bathroom also needed upgrading especially the shower, but to be fair it was relatively clean. Dinner served at the restaurant was surprising nice however not cheap at all. They have this very weird "ordering" system - they ask customers to write down what they want on a piece of paper and leave it on the table, then they come to get it! Surely one of the servers' jobs is to take customers orders by writing them down themselves? So I wrote down what I wanted and left the piece of paper on the table. A waiter came to take it and he asked if that was all I wanted! I mean, why ask me to confirm verbally if I'm meant to write it down myself? After main meal, a waitress came to take away the empty plate & asked if I wanted a dessert. As I had already decided what I wanted from the specials board, but the waitress brought me the menu anyway however she did not come back to take my order, although she was not serving anyone at all. After a while I gestured to her that I was ready to order. She came to my table and I told her I was ready to order. But I noticed that she was looking down at the table, so I said "Do I have to write THAT down as well?" And she said "Oh yes. Sorry I forgot to tell you." I commented on how strange this was, she said "this is how we do things here." On day 2, I made a point in writing down both my main course and dessert choices on a piece of paper when I "ordered" my food. But when I finished my main meal, the waitress who initially sat me down that evening & "took" my order came over & asked if I wanted anything else, although I had already written it down on the piece of paper as per "how they do things there"! I had to remind her that I had already written it down in that piece of paper they took from my table! Surely if this is "how we do things here" then she should have known I'd already "ordered" dessert! I do not understand why they have servers at the restaurants and yet they do not take customers orders in a normal manner. Especially when they charge £4 for a bottled water! Even the likes of Brewers Fayre do not require customers to write the orders down themselves as you can order at the bar, AND the staff WILL take your additional orders at you table afterwards & not insisting that you go back to order at the bar. Some Chinese restaurants do ask customers to "write" what they want, but it is pre-printed order sheet you just need to tick in the relevant boxes and again the staff WILL take your additional orders for you afterwards. So, I do NOT understand what is going on at Best Western Willerby Manor Hotel! Breakfast was less than OK, very limited choice and did not look good. And they charge extra for smoked haddock and salmon, and they have no vegetarian sausages. Some other reviewers commented on how nice food AND breakfast was, it is as if I'm staying at a different hotel altogether! There was free wifi but EACH TIME you switch off the device even for a very short time, you have to re-log on. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!!! There is no lift at this hotel, there were lots of stairs and some parking spaces can be quite far to walk if you have heavy thing / a lot to carry. Breakfast starts at 7am which is a bit late for business travellers. I did not use the swimming pool but I seem to remember they charge for hiring towels even if you are a paying guest at the hotel. On the plus side, the garden appeared to be nice looking from the breakfast room and that staff appeared polite (but dim).
We have been coming here for sometime and always use this great hotel when we need to relax . The location is ideal for us and easy to get to , tranquil setting in beautiful gardens with welcoming staff , lovely rooms and good food. This time we had one of the newly refurbished rooms on the first floor, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable and we slept so,well we nearly missed breakfast. The swimming pool , jacuzzi etc are one of the best in this type of hotel with well kept changing rooms etc and very helpful staff. I have to say that every member of staff you meet always says hello with a cheery smile and are attentive and helpful. A special mention for Chris in the restaurant , his approach to the customer is an example of how customer service should be and is a credit to the hotel. The food in the attached brasserie is well presented and well cooked . It really is worth taking a walk in the beautifully maintained gardens . All in all great value for money with fantastic staff , we have already booked our next visit.
First class two nights. .lovely rooms and they know how to organise a wedding fantastic venue..and fantastic staff...only moan (beans should come with the full English. .??).......not far from m62..............????????
We attended a wedding at Willerby Manor and had a lovely weekend, the room was comfortable and had everything you needed, the staff were very friendly and polite and the breakfast was very good. We had a swim in the pool which was a good size although there were swimming lessons going on and one end was roped off. The wedding itself was very well done and despite the large number being catered for the food was hot, tasty and substantial. The gardens were beautiful and a good time was had by all. I would stay there again,
We ate at the figs brassiere this evening. What a lovely welcome. The restaurant was very busy with a nice warm atmosphere. The food was really tasty. The portions size where very big. We couldn't clean our plates. My husband had the fish which was to die for. I choose the burger which was like a tower. Need to be very hungry to eat this. The staff where very attentive.
I stayed here for one night on a business trip and the whole experience was excellent. The staff were friendly , the food was well presented, the surroundings well looked after. Room was clean, tidy, the restaurant modern and enough light , the grounds were well looked after. Bed linen good quality and beds comfortable and gym and leisure facilities all in good order when i used them....good location , good hotel...attentive and caring staff ...
There aren't many places to stay outside Hull, near the M62 and reasonably priced. Willerby Manor fits the bill if you are not keen on a Premier Inn but need a place to stay. Pleasant staff & reasonable food. It can be 'busy' with a party room so ask for a quiet part of the hotel - it's a bit of a warren so it is possible.
Good hotel for its location to the main road to Bridlington and Beverley, bus stops outside the door for Hull. Beats the chains for price too. We had a good room, very clean and very quiet, for me this is essential. Breakfast was a full English and very nice. The lunch and evening menu was not what you would call vast but what I had was cooked to order and very good. Punches above its weight for food I feel. Wine was also good and not silly money. The most enjoyable aspect were the staff. Very helpful and friendly, they seemed to be sincere.
Nice hotel, a little dated around the edges. Like stepping back in time. Staff were lovely and friendly could not have been better. Room was nice, but the position of the tv was odd-why not have it on a counterlever arm so the person on the left of the bed has a better view!! And only one bottle of water and one pack of biscuits for two people! Pool was nice, jacuzzi very hot--there was no water fountain so had to cut my relaxation time as i needed a drink. Breakfast was very nice (although a vegetarian sausage or bacon would have been very good). Breakfast staff very welcoming and happy. Would stay again.
We've stayed here several times recently and each time has been faultless. You always have a lovely welcome from the reception team and the rooms we have had have been huge with a separate sitting area, very comfy bed and immaculately clean bathroom. Breakfast has been superb each time with attentive staff looking after us. We'll be back soon.
We found this hotel to be clean and tidy with a lovely breakfast and beautiful grounds, for half the cost of hotels in Beverley proper. Didn't try the fitness centre or pool. Staff were lovely. Note there is no lift to the upper floors so best to contact them if you have mobility needs. We were in room 301, nice big shower and quiet room although the hotel was not well stayed in on that night- seems to cater more for weddings and conferences so if there's nothing on I imagine it stays really quiet. Excellent pub less than 5 minutes walk away we would visit again when in the area as we were very impressed.
I stayed here for one night whilst working in the area. I was upgraded to a suite which was an excellent sized room, very quiet and lots of storage space. There was also a good sized desk for work and decent enough wifi so that I actually could work! The ladies on reception were very pleasant and helpful. There is a gym and pool attached to the hotel too. The location is good and there is plenty of car parking space. Breakfast was particularly good too - individually ordered, rather than a buffet and they offered salmon too. All in all a nice stay and, for the price paid, it was excellent.
A last minute decision to visit family and chose to saty at this hotel. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and professional. the rooms were very clean and the Breakfast was fresh and delicious. This hotel has beautiful gardens. Despite the crap weather, the stay here was one of our highlights. A relaxing get-a-way.
Excellent Hotel went for a swim went in the sauna & the steam room. the only problem we had was not Enough tea & Milk for 2 people we had to keep going to the Reception and ask for more and was given 2 milk's. kept sending different log in details every day for the internet. Tried to Charge us for Meals & drinks but we never eat or had a drink there they did take it off the Bill.
My girlfriend and I stayed during the February half time for three nights – Bed, breakfast and evening meal. It added to a very enjoyable break. The staff were friendly, room comfortable and well serviced and good restaurant. On the last; it can get very busy and it is worth asking if you need to book. We found that given their good “specials board” there was plenty of choice and the food was well prepared. However, we felt that after three nights we had had enough of “eating in”. Don't miss breakfast – excellent example of how to serve the great British breakfast (with options).
This hotel is very good for dog owners. We walked in and the receptionist took one look at our dog and promptly gave us an upgrade. Lovely comfortable large room on the ground floor. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We were delighted to find that room service was free, it meant we didn't have to worry about our dog while we were eating. The staff were really helpful when we couldn't find out how to get subtitles on the TV and even came to show us how to put them on. Spent quite a bit of time walking in the hotel's gardens, which are lovely. The only thing we didn't like was that the bed was a small double. It was very strange to see such a small bed in a large room - nearly everywhere has king size beds or super king size. Mattress and pillows were good though.
Have used this particular hotel a few times as its suites when working in Hull. Staff and rooms have always been excellent. The only disapointing area was no hot water availble for a shower or shave after rising for an early start at 3.30am.Would happily recommend and will use again. PS Great boozer short distance away called the Star that serves local ales and good scram if hotel food is not for you.
A well managed well run hotel, with friendly helpful staff and professionally managed Leisure, sports suite. A quiet room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice range and service very efficient. This hotel is a credit to the Best Western Group. We will stay again.
Went and booked in but was a little early told to come back at 2 pm wasn't a problem we went for dinner then went back the young girl behind reception was very pleasant and efficient we had a dog and we had a room on 1st floor was a lovely room and looked out on to the gardens the only problem was the hairdryer you couldn't use it as it was in a draw and the cable wasn't long enough to get it out of the draw so i had to take the plug of pull the wire from where it was fixed then put the plug back on and then i could use it . The bathroom was good and plenty of hot water. My husband used the swimming pool and sauna and said that they was lovely Breakfast was very good plenty of choice everything was cooked lovely and was hot the staff was very efficient and pleasant
We stayed in this hotel in Jan 2016. I had a room on the ground floor and my colleagues were on the fourth. My room was a typical conversion of a " period" property. ie it was huge and the refurb wasn't very sympathetic. But it was clean and quiet. It overlooked the garden, or at least a lawn. So far so good. The others weren't so lucky. Their room - two singles - was not a recent refurb. The carpet was so unpleasant that they had to find ways of avoiding walking on it in bare feet! Breakfast was OK and the location , parking etc, commendable. staff were of the - "just getting by" If you have any luggage, and especially heavy pieces, there are steps up to reception and there's NO LIFT. Bear this in mind! If you're on the ground floor you've still got a walk up the stairs to reception and then a walk down another set to your floor. There's a small indoor pool, apparently, I didn't see it.
Our "local" long time ago, decided to try for light lunch, good reception from staff but slightly disappointed for choices in standard menu and specials.Scampi and chips well cooked for one course, but my home made burger, even with Swiss cheese on top was fairly dry. Presentation of both meals could not be faulted, but suggest a little more imagination in menu choice .
The hotel looks lovely and the decor inside was also very modern and pleasant. The food was especially nice and overall made a pleasant experience by the friendly serving staff who were polite and very understanding with the young children with us..
We stayed for 1 night and would gladly return. It is a very welcoming clean and warm hotel run by a team of efficient and polite staff who made us feel very welcome. I had a good nights sleep (did not get woken by any noise). Pool was warm and large (many hotels have water too cold) this was perfect and the spa pool was great. As a vegetarian the breakfast had a very limited choice (as mentioned in a previous review) so I ordered the only veggie breakfast on the menu but wish they would offer poached egg instead of fried as I forgot to ask them to change it; they could also put some baked beans and a vegetarian soya sausage on the plate to give some protein. Staff also posted my daughters onesie back to us that she had left hidden in bed clothes. A great location too - very close to Aldi and a shopping centre with petrol station.
I arrived late Sunday evening and was greeted with a friendly and helpful receptionist. The room included a trouser press, iron with ironing board which is very useful if you have a business meeting to attend.
I stayed here for a week in Jan whilst on business. The hotel was nice enough, room was very large for 1 person making the TV seem very far away! My main gripe about the room was the fan in the bathroom as it was very loud and stayed on for around 20 mins after the light was switched off which was annoying. The restaurant area was nice but the menu was very limited for vegetarians, and expensive for a pasta dish. Breakfast was good and the food was cooked to order. I did not use the leisure facilities as they were packed each evening with non residents so beware of this aspect. I have no idea what the gardens were like as it was dark when I left for work and arrived back. Overall the hotel was nice enough and rates were good value.
The Willerby manor hotel was decided to hold a family wake and it was perfect. The grand entrance was ideal for my late grandma and the laffterte function room was very spacious for the big family and friends. A lovely simple buffet finished the afternoon off nicely. We did not stay there over night as they dont have family rooms but the rooms are around £63 for a double and if there as good as the downstairs i'm sure you would have a nice stay.
Stayed for one night whilst attending the KC Stadium. Hotel was clean and tidy and staff were very welcoming. Room was quite large with king size bed, 2 armchairs, desk with chair. Room warm and did not need to turn heating on. Slept well with no noise from outside. Breakfast was excellent, Self service for cereal, fruit, nuts, porridge. Staff take your order for cooked breakfast with so many choices. Check out by 11am so if your not in a rush then you can take your time.
Spend Sunday evening here, and everything from start to finish was faultless. Fast check in by friendly and helpful staff, who had booked us in to a large room (327). Swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi all well maintained, clean and relaxing time spent in them. Had an meal in Figs Brassiere, shared Nacho (big kids portion) with my daughter and there was plenty for both of us. She then had a burger and I had fish and chips both meals were great, very tasty and plentiful. Didn't have room for a dessert. Slept really well and not disturbed by any noise. Breakfast was good too, served in a small dining area, staff very attentive and all the normal breakfast items were available. Checkout was fast and the female member of staff was so pleasant. would stay again if in the area.
The only thing about this hotel is that it is pet friendly did not enjoy our stay, The food was truly awful and I am one that really does not complain but they need to get this problem sorted as its spoiling the overall stay experience. I also feel that the staff need to buck their ideas up or maybe they will be looking for new jobs if the place shuts down.
have stayed here before and it was not a good experience but our philosophy is to always try something twice just to make sure this time the staff were awesome and the service great food was to die for the public areas could do with updating in the corridors to the rooms but the rooms were lovely and clean new beds could be a good thing found bouncy springs not to my liking would still recommend
Just stayed at BW Willerby Manor in Hull on 13/2/16 for Valentines Ball Very disappointed with rooms cobwebs and dried wallpaper paste on walls and ceiling Doesn't say much for the standards of cleanness in the hotel Also went down for breakfast food served wouldn't of feed a small child Also breakfast staff was very unhelpful Also food severed was not full English breakfast as advertised on menu card on table (items was missing of plate) I have stay at this hotel on a number of occasions (work and pleasure) and this time I left feeling very disappointed with the quality of service and cleanness of your rooms I would have second thoughts about staying again Also recommending your hotel With the low standards your hotel now takes
we booked a table for two at the fig restaurant for a nice meal and night out and was not disappointed.we have use the hotel in the past but not for some time .the hotel is still welcoming well presented and a a fire place with little fire in the bar area i could have sat all night there .the restaurant seated in a nice corner table for two the menu and a good special board my wife chose the soup and steak i had the prawn brochette and the beef stroganoff everything served hot and tasty and looked after by very polite and happy staff and to finish off barbara had a the yorkshire cheese board and i had the chocolate tort and mint ice cream 4 soft drinks two large glasses of wine £63:00 very good value for a al cart,e meal served by a good polite team makes a night of it we will come back and have a night in the hotel and so we don't have to travel home till the morning 10/10 for customer service and for food quality
Had a 2 night stay at this hotel. The room was huge, and quite comfortable. Blackout curtains assisted in getting a good night sleep. The only down side was the noise which comes through from the room upstairs. The spotlights in the room don't appear properly fitted, so no insulation from room above. Breakfast was excellent, staff very attentive and food very good quality. Would stay here again
I stayed in the hotel for one night. Nice friendly greeting on arrival. Advised of meal timings and using the gym facilities. An evening meal was booked me. I used the gym, pool and spa. Clean and no issues. There was a good choice on the evening menu and a specials board. The staff were very attentive. I also had an issue with my room hairdryer which was not working, this was quickly replaced. The room itself was fine, economy bulbs which take a while, there was a bit of noise in the morning from the heating and other guests, I would request a higher room next time. Breakfast was very good, again the staff were very attentive. Check out was no problem.
Friendly staff and excellent pool, jacuzzi, sauna and fitness centre area! The room was big and clean. Food was presented well and was good quality although a little expensive and very narrow menu choice! Breakfast was excellent. Good choice and good quality!! Overall, a great stay!
After more than hundred Hilton stays, I decided to explore different hotel chain and chooses BW. First I stayed BW Forest hills hotel, it's fine. Meantime I read BW rewards status match programme and I matched my HHonours Diamond status with BW rewards. When I applied, straight away upgraded to BW Diamond status! Great! Then I booked a standard double room at this hotel under the winter sales scheme for £40.25 with breakfast. I drove from Blackpool, about 135 miles took just over 2 hours. I ever been to Hull, I first went to see the majestic Humber bridge and the surrounding areas. Hotel situated in a rural residential area - about 5 miles from Hull town centre - well sign posted and easily reached. Enough parking bays available just infront of the hotel, it's free. On my arrival welcomed by a friendly reception staff, not mentioned anything about the hotel's facilities like swimming pool etc, just did the formalities. Unfortunately no recognition of the Diamond status. Not even given any upgrades. Compared with HHonours, they offer free breakfast, drink vouchers, definite upgrades etc for Diamond members. When I ask about the benefits of the diamond status, he told you can get extra points, that's it! Another thing to avoid, preauthorisation of credit card. Already I paid for the room, for other expenditures like dinner, I prefer pay as you go. Because preauthorised amount will be back to the account some times after 10 days, and we can't keep an eye on this. Further more BW points given only for room rates, not for the restaurant spendings. (HHonours points given for all expenses). My room number 112 in the ground floor, overlooking backyard garden. Medium sized room, spotlessly clean bathroom with tub, medium sized TV with most of the essential channels, comfortable bed everything OK, but room looks tired, maybe because of the old furnitures. Tea/coffee making facilities, working area, good speed free Wifi all fine. Toiletries wall mounted. I requested shaving kit and tooth brush, they charged for it. When I read hotel facilities files, clearly stated those are complementary. I took a photo of that page and showed, then only receptionstaff waived the charges! I booked a table for dinner at the hotel's Figgs restaurant. Friendly attentive staff seated me and show the special day menu and the usual A la carte menu. I ordered prawns from day menu as starter (£7) and monkfish from usual menu as main (£13). Big portions well cooked and tasty. Breakfast served at the same venue, continental only self serving, cooked breakfast we have to order. I preferred for full English, deliciously cooked and served within 5 minutes. Again same attentive staffers. Coffee, Juice all served perfectly. Check out time 11am, I requested until 12. Checkout done smoothly, I just paid for the newspaper I ordered. Dinner I paid to the restaurant earlier. As per my opinion, if the reception staff trained to treat loyal customers well, definitely be a good hotel. Next week also I am going to stay at a Best Western hotel!
The room was very large and pleasant. Very nice setting and lovely decor. Sadly standard of food and service let the hotel down. We had got the room on a cheap deal and thought it was good value. However had we paid full price I would have been very dissapointed and probably complained. Room was very cold, they're was marks on the sheet that looked like blood. I found a hair in my sandwich and our poached eggs were hard. A few smiles would have been nice. Resteraunt manager did his best but staff need more training. At breakfast we sat down and was imediatly asked what cooked food wecwanted. No offer of a drink, no explanation how it worked and no time to read menu. We asked for a minute to look and was vthen forgotten. Would go again if on a deal but not at full price.
We had a nice large quiet room on the top floor at the end of the corridor. The room had all the facilities we needed - drinks tray, TV, sitting area, large ensuite with nice bath and shower over. Towels were nice and thick, fluffy, good quality, very clean, and large. We had drinks and a 2 course dinner in the Brasserie - great value & varied menu. The STAFF, all of them, really make this place into one we would use again when in this area - they are very friendly, polite and helpful.
My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and cannot praise the hotel enough. The staff could not do anything more to help or please you and that goes for the restaurant and breakfast staff as well. We dined in the restaurant and can only say the food was superb and well presented.I would also like to comment on the quality of the room and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Lovely staff, lovely breakfast, bar prices par for course at hotels, fantastic leisure facebook facilities, only stayed one night as a bit of a change of scenery kind of thing, we really loved it would we go again?.......absolutely....??
We have used this hotel for many family and company events and it has always been of a very high standard. The rooms are mostly large and very comfortable. The breakfasts are of a very high standard and the price is right. The figs restaurant serves a good variety of menu with a specials board to back it up. It is ideal for weddings and special occasions, having a variety of sized function rooms. The hotel is set in large well kept grounds and has a large on site car park. The hotel has a a fitness centre with a swimming pool. The hotel is recommended for all occasions.
Loved every minute of staying here, made us feel really welcome. Couldn't do enough for us. We booked a room for a very reasonable price, when we arrived we were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost! It was lovely. Room was huge! Very homely, old fashioned hotel which was perfect as it's an old building. Cannot fault this hotel at all.
Just stayed for 2 nights on business and cannot praise the hotel highly enough. Great service, food quality and ambience. In fact much superior to more expensive hotels I have stayed in. Highly recommended
Just spent a weekend at this lovely hotel situated about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Hull. Upon arrival the check in was friendly and welcoming . Room was spotless with king size bed.the one thing I must mention is the bed was very low. This did not detract from our stay but disabled people may need to request a more suitable room with a higher bed. We ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and the food was excellent. All freshly cooked good portions, my compliments to the chef. Breakfasts again were lovely, buffet for cereals, fresh fruits, toast etc then options for cooked meals also catering for vegetarians. There is limited disabled free parking directly outside the hotel and also free large car park. Also free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Great stay. Thank you.
This is a beautiful hotel really great for access routes, very quiet and well maintained. This hotel is the only one I stay at when I work in Hull because I know its good every time I stay. Best Westerns are fantastic value for money and the grounds of this one are particularly well maintained and look great even in the winter.
Had a wonderful weekend here for my Nieces wedding ,The whole weekend was special ,rooms very comfortable ,food superb ,the staff very kind &helpful through the whole weekend .Our room was downstairs ,good size ,large bed , & views over the garden ,Would definitely recommend Willerby manor at any time .
it only ten minutes from our house we decided to stay overnight because of New Year Taxis. The room was very clean and tidy. The staff were wonderful special thanks go to the young lady who looked after our table who went the extra mile. The new year party was wonderful. Many thank it a little gem.
Stayed in this wonderful establishment where we attended a wedding reception after a wedding ceremony in Swanland Church. I had read a negative report about the hotel, so I was slightly apprehensive about the place BUT I found the place an excellent establishment. Tasty food of a high standard. Staff went out of their way to welcoming & helpful. Excellent leisure centre & spa, pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc. I would say that the staff were the friendliest I have found to date in any hotel. If I were to have any negative thing to report it would be that in our spacious ensuite bedroom there was only one wardrobe. We had plenty of space to hang up our clothes, but little if any drawer space for other clothes. Since we stayed only two nights, we didn't need the clothes space, but had we been staying longer, we would have mentioned this to the management. All in all, a great place to stay, and we will return!!
My friend treated me for a Christmas lunch in the restaurant. We had a lovely table overlooking the gardens. The service was brilliant. I orfdered the turkey dinner, and it was delicious, plenty of meat, freshly cooked vegetables ans the usual trimmings.my friend has the cod and she too had plenty of fish served on a bed of mash with a delicious sauce. It was a reasonably priced fixed menu.
Ok food in the restaurant is very good, but really an order process where I have to write my own order on a betting slip style bit of paper and take it to the bar is a bit of a nonsense... Rooms are either good or terrible, if you are unfortunate enough to be in the original bit expect paper thin walls, outdated and tired decor and in the case of my room a mattress which was labelled as "Beds for the 1990s by Southdown" THE most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep in, but if it's over 20 years old it's hardly surprising.... If you get a big suite in the new bit then things are better.... But this place needs to come into the modern world of hotels, many rooms need a major facelift, you are not luxury or upmarket and if there are issues raised by guests then management needs to be visible and help guests not leave it for the poor receptionists to deal with everything, shame really......
We stayed here for two nights this week. On arrival we were greeted by the nicest receptionist - I wished I'd asked his name (this was Wednesday of this week - 9th, so hopefully the owners can work out who it is). In fact, all the staff we encountered in the hotel (and a shout-out to the cleaner who was cleaning the floor in the bar this morning who told us about some lovely photos of the building from times past) were exceptionally helpful and friendly and we got the definite impression that nothing was too much trouble. We were very pleasantly surprised to be given a free upgrade. Our room was gorgeous - a large, lovely and comfortable bed and a huge bathroom with a big jacuzzi bath and a shower. We ate in the restaurant on the first night - our meal was lovely - beautifully served, hot and delicious. Breakfast was also great and freshly cooked. Thank you for making our pre-Christmas stay such a pleasant one. If we ever have occasion to stay in the area again we will definitely be booking in here. :)
I gather the accommodation side is quite adequate but deary me! they really do need to sort out their catering team . This is family owned and could be a lovely venue for so many occasions but their next investment should be in recruiting a decent chef I have dined there on several occasions, privately and attending functions and the food has gradually deteriorated both in quality and presentation. Now they have lost their wonderful house manager they really do need to look into making the restaurants their number one priority.
stayed 3 nights bed & breakfast. forget it if you are in a wheelchair. cant understand this hotel - disabled parking but no lift no stairlift. i had trouble walking down steps to the ground floor. why dont they invest in a lift or stairlift ? no it means spending money, this day and age they should look after disabled people. 1st morning at breakfast only us and another couple in breakfast lounge (think in week its more of a business hotel) with a guy standing there like a prison guard ? who is there to serve us. no yoghurt even though it says on the menu - was told the delivery was arriving that day - sorry but i dont accept - surely they know when to re-order when stock running low ! 2nd/3rd day still no yoghurt - waste of time. the weekend was very busy (must do special cheap deals to get customers in ?) saturday at breakfast a complete joke, people waiting for tables,i ordered pot of tea twice - 20 mins it came out after i complained. then we had to wait 50 - yes 50 mins for our breakfast to come out. it seems to me that staff had no training and wasnt 'switched'on. i had to complain that day to the duty manager who was good and told me hes on duty on the sunday morning in the breakfast lounge and all would be better - which it was.proberly a few backsides were kicked !. staff at reception and house keeping very good and friendly. we stay at a lot of best western's some very good, good and not so good. i would give this best western 6/10 - could be good if breakfast serving staff trained properly and of course disabled friendly.
We stayed here after another hotel let us down and wow, we had the most amazing room Such a comfortable bed, huge bathroom, spotlessly clean, the view of the grounds was beautiful the next morning, we were both really happy to stay here and will return
We wanted a good value, comfortable hotel for bed and breakfast and some time to relax in the spa and that's what we got. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious , comfortable and very quiet. We ate in the Bistro for dinner , the meal was well priced and well cooked with minimal wait. I would just have liked to have more vegetarian options.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Willerby Manor for two nights as a weekend holiday from our busy and stressful lives. I have to say the hotel was above and beyond our expectations. We were placed in a suite room (which we weren't expecting), which was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and efficient, as were the staff in the restaurant. We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights and were extremely impressed with the food on both occasions. We made use of the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi - all of which were clean, quiet and most relaxing. I honestly don't have a bad word to say about the place and I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning and thank you to the Willerby Manor Hotel for a perfect weekend.
Stayed here for just the one night. The lady on reception was excellent and got us into an upgraded room early. This was a free stay as I was using my Best Western Loyalty Reward points and I wasn't disappointed. Great service and location, easy to find, amazing room. The only slight disappointment was how small the breakfast room was and staff were stood at the back of the room staring at everyone to see when people has finished or needed help, a little off putting. But overall great stay and we will be back in January.
Stayed for one night following a dinner & dance held at the hotel, check in quick & staff pleasant & helpful. Our room was warm & recently decorated with large bed & sofa (would have liked a full length mirror) tea & coffee provided. No bath but nice large shower with toiletries. Nice bar area & function room with plenty of staff to serve. I had rang ahead to book a vegan meal which was no problem to them & it was gorgeous! Compliments to the chef for that, most tasty vegan meal I've ever had when dining out! Bed was comfy & we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast is cooked to order so was a bit if a wait, veggie alternative was spinach! didn't bother with that! nice view of gardens but windows really dirty! Wifi available but have to log on and wait for e mail, bit too much off a messing about, should just provide password. Overall a good stay & would defiantly return.
Been before as we live a walk away and use gym but disappointed this time ! The ordering of food had changed to writing it on a piece of paper and taking to bar Akin to a beefeater ! Soup starter was under seasoned and my liver course one piece was inedible and pure fat ! Very disappointed. The complaint was met with the chef apologises no offer of discount or a drink to compensate. We ended up not staying for dessert so our night out lasted all of an hour!
We stayed for 4 nights and everything was excellent from arrival to departure. All staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful; the breakfast and the meals at Figs were delightful; the gym and pool facilities were great and our room was comfortable, quiet and had all we could have wanted. We used our Tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for the room and breakfast but even without the vouchers I would have considered the costs to be good value. I also had a lovely massage and manicure. Would most definitely recommend it.
We visited Willerby Manor a couple of years ago for a short break and thought we would try it again as we enjoyed the stay. We weren't disappointed, we booked a two night break which included dinner, bed and breakfast, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Suite which was a nice surprise. The staff were all really friendly and we found them to be very organised, the service in the bar and restaurant was really good, I know some people seem to have a problem with ordering their meals by writing what they want on a piece of paper but I don't see how it is any different to a lot of pubs where you have to go to the bar to order, you can also just hand the paper to one of the serving staff if you prefer. We received our meals really quickly and the food was delicious, I had the Monkfish Two Ways on one of the evenings and it was really tasty, my partner had the fish and chips which he was very happy with. The gym and swimming pool are really good and much better than we have seen at other hotels, the pool does get busy but it is much bigger than most hotel pools so it didn't feel over crowded. The breakfast was of high quality and again the service was really good, they are kept busy and have a high turnaround of guests but I never felt rushed to finish. All in all we had a lovely stay, with really good tasty food and extremely helpful friendly staff and we will definitely go back.
This is a solid hotel in Hull, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are very accommodating and friendly , the food in the restaurant and for room service is excellent , inventive and fresh . I have stayed here numerous times and I will always come back
This is the third time I have used this hotel, which says a lot for a discerning guest, and would definitely go back again. The rooms are comfortable and well presented, the staff are exemplary (some other hotels in the Best Western group should take note & send their staff here for training ) The "Fig" Brasserie is well worth a visit as the food is superb, unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of breakfast as I needed to get to work, but accepted the offer of a "take away" package which was acceptable which would have been better if the sandwich bread was not dried out.
We had a Try before you buy offer' as we was considering booking our wedding at this hotel, staff fantastic, food was lovely but we were disappointed with our room, the dirty nets with holes in, only one bottle of water in our room although there was 2 of us staying. Felt a little over dressed at dinner as everyone was just in joggers or jeans. The staff that waited our table were fantastic just sorry we didn't get their names so we could pass it on. The food was delicious and we would eat there any time. Breakfast was a disappointment although we was 50 mins before end of breakfast was due to finish, we were told we couldn't have the pastries and yogurt as breakfast was coming to and all that was there was one rhubarb pastry left and that was it. Also really gutted to see there was no baked beans on the menu. We were looking forward to a nice relaxing breakfast but we were made to feel rushed as all the tables were being changed around us and the staff hurrying to strip and re dress the tables. No milk given to us with our coffee so we had to take a glass from our table and fill it at the breakfast station and use that for our coffee. Back to the room, there were no complimentary toiletries and what was in the bathroom didn't work.. The pumps were rusty and nothing came out..Bed was really comfy but could really do with a lamp at the end of the room rather than all the ceiling spot lights. Reception is decorated beautiful but the hallways to the rooms are covers in plastic making it look more like an old peoples home. We would most defiantly stay again but only in an offer rate. We wouldn't pay the current asking price.
The hotel itself was clean and well situated, but the staff were badly organised beyond belief. We waited for service, drink and food orders taken in the restaurant but nothing arrived, this happened with 3 different waiters. When the food arrived one of the three meals was returned, the other two were not hot. Similar experience at breakfast, where the toaster caught fire. Dont expect fast wifi.
From initial arrival, to leaving this hotel was first rate. The room was large, clean, and well appointed, with a more than adequate bathroom. The staff are very keen to please, and seem to be enjoying being at work. The breakfast is huge and would satisfy the biggest appetite, the table settings are first class and worthy of a more expensive hotel. Well done!
Pleasant hotel near Hull, close to university. beautiful good value breakfast and nice pool. Rooms are specious, very comfortable but a bit dated. Beds are very comfortable. The Wii Fii is not great and one has to reconnect every few min
This was a Great hotel for our short family trip to East Yorkshire. Firstly the hotel was very easy to find, lots of parking at the hotel which is free of charge. Check in was very quick and efficient. The room was very spacious for 2 adults and 1 child, and was very clean. Leisure club is Superb and a must to visit if you have the time. Food in the restaurant was of a high standard and plenty of choice including chef's specials, also plenty of staff which I like to see. The location of this hotel was very good which enabled us to get to York very easily on one day, and on the other we went to the Yorkshire coast (Weather was also very good for late October). I would defiantly recommend this hotel if you are needing to stay in this area.
We stayed here for one night the day after our wedding, we booked a standard double with dbb! Upon arrival we were early but was pointed towards the restaurant were we had a lovely lunch! All the staff were very helpful, however there was one that really stood out and is an asset to the hotel, (unfortunately didn't get her name) the lady with blonde hair at the reception! She was so bubbly and friendly and upgrade us for free to the honeymoon suite! I was overwhelmed with her kindness! She explained everything very clearly. Made our stay at the hotel great! The spa was lovely, made us feel very relaxed! The food was amazing, very tasty and a great selection, staff in the restaurant made sure you were happy, were very friendly and smiley! Rooms were also lovely, clean and very well presented. I could go on and on about how great this hotel was! But I will leave it at that! 5 star!!! Recommend to a lot of our friends!!
Three of us went for lunch and enjoyed it. It's not formula, clearly there is a real chef in the kitchen and they know what they're doing. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. At £17.50 for the cheapest bottle of house wine they're not cheap, but the food was definitely worth it. Ignore the menu and go for the specials board. Try the warm chocolate fudge pudding with black cherries, it's worth it just for the sauce!
OKAY, not The Manor, England or the rains fault but I was in Rassay last week, Hotel was fine, we arrived early and was advised cant check in as rooms not ready, fair enough as we are told check in at 1400. We had very nice tea and cake in the café, staff friendly and good service. Went back to desk just after two but due to advances in technology the key card PC for generating cards for access to rooms didn't work, no major issue just rebooted all okay, staff apologised for the all of 5 min delay no real issue at all. These things happen. Room was a twin overlooking the garden that looked really nice. Had evening meal in the restaurant they do ask you if you want to write your order down but I just went up and advised them what we wanted. I had a burger and my mother who doesn't eat much ordered the fish and chips from the Children's menu, when it came the fish was massive, more for me. Burger was freshly made really tasty. Breakfast was fine, selection of toast, juice and full English, breakfast room could do with a little background music as it's a little dead. Staff all okay, room was fine
My husband and 13 year old son stayed here for two nights using Tesco Vouchers. Our standard double room with a pull out sofa bed was very comfortable. Tastefully decorated and a good nights sleep had by all. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to perfection. My husband is very particular about scrambled egg and he gave it marks 10\\10. Very attentive staff. We enjoyed the facilities of the health club and had a walk around the well kept gardens. We enjoyed an evening meal in Figs Brasserie again the food was freshly cooked and beautifully presented. We will definitely book again.
Enjoyable stay at this hotel with our six children. Staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was a bother. The food was very nice and the breakfast staff were a great bunch. Nice pool and sauna area. I would recommend this place.
Cant believe this Hotel . Stayed 1 night in a Twin single room , Not like most hotels , put singles together and make a double, this one only does Double or single rooms , NO intention of making a double for guests. I have a broken leg so asked after seeing room , could I change , No ! quite busy and we haven't got any. ? No help there then . Duvet is around tog 2 , I always sleep with cold room and window open , but had to put 2 duvets on bed and still froze . Heating obviously goes off in night . Then you go to eat. Bar staff have 3 attempts to pour a pint of Bitter , looks like dishwater and tastes even worse. Try something else then . Pick food , ask for waiter to take order ,,,,,, No , No , No, On the table is a scrap of paper and a pencil ( Crayons come next week ) You write down what you want then go to bar and hand to waiter / waitress . Then first the waiter , then the waitress come back at 5 minute interval asking if they could query what I had ordered , and what I wanted for Dinner. I had written , Fillet Steak , Medium Chunky Chips . perhaps I had written it in Russian ? No they didn't understand. I did , we had to write it down because they were incapable of taking an order I got steak with 2 portions of Chips Never Ever Again < You could not make it up
I stayed here with my boyfriend on the 17th October, we were looking for places to stay and thought we would go to Hull and stay in this hotel, we had a very warm welcome by 2 lovely receptionists called Daniel and Kassandra, everything was explained on check in. Room was gorgeous and very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, breakfast in the morning was ok, had full English but there was no beans, love having beans for breakfast, oh well, the breakfast staff were very helpful. At checkout we were greeted by the lovely Daniel and Kassandra, they are an asset to the company, would definitely return!!!! Thank you for such a wonderful stay xx
Always a warm welcome, excellent service. Generous breakfast. Great facilities, comfortable quiet rooms. very useful for travel to some of what Yorkshire has to offer' Very safe parking and dogs are welcome.
Big spacious room and bed. Quality food, staff, amenities and facilities. Staff were plentiful, helpful and attentive. Beautiful gardens in rear of hotel. On outer (Western) rural edge of Kingston-upon-Hull, but with easy road access to the City, the Humber Bridge and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Would not recommend to any one! Me and my partner and son visited for 2 nights.... To start the receptionist made us feel uncomfortable when checking in was rude and disrespectful!!! Then when the pre auto payment was took she took £350 when we advised we would be paying cash then the real problems start when no one knows where this £350 has disappeared to and we still don't know! not really accommodating for our little person who has special dietary requirements!!! Family room not very big as sofa bed pulls out to the side of the normal bed! No room for moving around!!! One member of staff from the office team was so rude it was unbelievable clearly thought she was something more special than everyone else! Making us feel unwelcome!!! Made to check out when we are still disputing the cash !!!!! Not offered anything while we wait on this money no table in the restaurant not drink no later check out nothing at all been sent away with nothing and a 2 year old to entertain while we wait!!! The only good part of this was blonde haired receptionist that helped us out to get us to the right people and the girl in the gym who opened the small pool for our little boy!!!! I don't even rate this hotel! We visit hull once a month and will it stay there again!!!!!!
Check in staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The bed was uncomfortable, the television was fixed to the wall in the corner which made it difficult to watch. The decor is in desperate need of updating. The food was tasteless. On the upside the staff at check out were friendly.
I came up 2 weeks ago today with my Mum and Dad. Both our rooms were beautiful, newly decorated, spacious, spotless and the furnishings were stunning. Asked for ground floor as Dad is now 81 and this was given. Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast cooked to order and spot on. We would like to add that your staff waiting on the tables at breakfast time were attentive and we all had a laugh at my feeble attempts with the toaster. Loved our stay and will be booking again soon for a visit up to Hull from Milton Keynes to meet up with family. Thank you all .
Some of the Rooms need Updating, looking very Shabby, some of the Staff need to Smile more! The Gym Equipment looks very old! Food was Okay but would have expected better with the amount they charge to stay in this Hotel..
Whenever I am on a trip my first choice if possible is always a Best Western. I find that the individuality of the hotels very appealing. Invariably the rooms are comfortable, quiet and always in a very good location. The Willerby Manor Hotel for me offers all of this and I cannot recommend this Best Western highly enough. I found the staff very professional, the room was excellent and the restaurant was superb. The Hotel is a little tired and the carpets in the main corridors are in need of replacement but looking past that is an excellent place to stay.
Made a late choice to go to the Willerby Manor and overall not disappointed by the decision. On arrival pleased that there is plenty of parking and reception staff were very welcoming. The room was spacious in the old part of the building and well equipped (including free wifi). Found a couple of problems (faulty radiator and no hot water from the shower). To their credit though we reported these faults and they were put right on our return late afternoon. The restaurant was OK but had a limited choice for us - may have suited other people and on the 2nd evening we dined elsewhere. Breakfasts were good and the waitresses very efficient. The location is good for a number of attractions, including a few miles away the Humber Bridge Country Park with a huge free car park and good walks to the river and a close up look at the bridge. Would use this hotel again if visiting the area.
Excellent facilities, rooms, friendly staff & location. We booked an all in package i.e. bed, breakfast & evening meal. Not often we do this as we don't normally find hotel food very adventurous but the World Cup Rugby was on so be it. What a surprise the food was excellent & for the all-in price paid it was real good value for money. So glad we chose this hotel.
the hotel is in need of a major face lift with the rooms looking very tired especially the bathroom wash area. i was very unhappy with the cleanliness of the bathroom and the tables and accessories in the restaurant were filthy.
