"Very small room; excellent location"

3
14/10/2018

Room was smaller than expected (we know rooms are small in Asia however this was very small). There was no room for luggage at all, thankfully we only had carry on. There is no closet in the room either - just a few hooks ... Other than the room being small, everything else was good. The location of the hotel was pretty good. About a 10 mins walk to the metro or Nathan Road. Staff at hotel were friendly. Nothing else of note regarding the hotel or room however. It was fairly standard I would say.

"Average hotel"

13/10/2018

I stayed at the Best Western for one night as I had changed my flight and arrived Hong Kong a day early. The reason I stayed there was because I had booked it the last minute and the price was reasonable. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The check in process was very smooth. When I entered the room, I was quite surprised to see how small the room was. There was virtually no place to put my one suitcase. The washroom was also very small, with a small shower which had issues with drainage. I was glad that I stayed there for only one night.

"Not too happy"

3
12/10/2018

As the title explains, was not very happy with the stay. Although, I don't know much about the hotels in Hong Kong, but the size of the room was very small. I did not use any other services of the hotel, hence am unable to comment about same. The location is centrally located.

"Disappointed "

2
11/10/2018

We believed this hotel would provide more than we were provided particularly as it was promoted as. 4 star. The room is micro with no space for luggage it is really just bed and a TV. There is no sitting space or desk etc The bathroom is so small that the toilet roll has to be above toilet as there is not enough space in the cavity. Shower has adequate pressure but is claustrophobic. Looked up other accommodation on trip advisor and for an extra $20 much more spacious accommodation was available. Would not recommend this hotel as value for money

"Budget property"

3
09/10/2018

Rooms are really small, you can't even open your luggage. Breakfast wasn't good. No options for vegetarian. they won't even bother to ask you if you need anything. Room service staff was good and attentive.

"Value of Money"

04/10/2018

The location is good, walking distance to the nearest MTR station, shopping area and Temple Street Night Market. Plenty of food choices around. The room is small but decent, you get what you paid for, and if you are expecting additional space in the room, you may want to consider somewhere else. Buffet breakfast is okay, nothing to shout out.

"Very Lousy Hotel. Don't stay here, Front desk night staff are impolite."

I was so dissapointed in this hotel. Staff are not helpful, the way they talk to me so impolite, she don't even give a smile or talk nicely. Room too old. What you see in online photo is not what you get.Over all a big dissapointment staying in this lousy hotel.

"Nice Hotel"

12/09/2018

Our double bed room was nice and clean. It's really small though for a family of 3 and you'll get cramped sitting on the toilet. There's no closet either so if you don't mind having a small room to sleep in then this is good for you. The buffet breakfast has limited choices but is okay. Staff are friendly and can speak English well so the service is here is good. The hotel is near the MTR and bus stops so it's easy going to and fro the hotel. Restaurants, convenience stores and shops are conveniently near as well. This is the kind of place you can stay in if you're looking for an affordable room which is clean and has the basics like tv, ref, good wifi, etc and don't mind the small place.

"Nice hotel"

09/09/2018

This hotel was a good choice price wise compared to others in the area. The rooms are average size for HK standards, they are cleaned but the bed mattress are hard. The hotel is closed to eateries, shops and public transport to everywhere. The staff was attentive to my needs and friendly. I would stay again and recommend to others but "please" management,,,, get rid of those hard mattresses. It will only benefit you with more bookings and happy guests.

"Not bad at all!"

04/09/2018

Booked the family here for a couple of nights. The room size was reasonable considering we had an extra bed for the elder daughter. We had a nice view of the cricket club although that may be unique to our part of the building (we were in 1901). The hotel is conveniently located near Nathan Road, and has both a 7-11 and a Marketplace a few steps away. There's a large number of nearby restos which is great. Bang-for-buck this was a pretty good place, I would reco it and we would stay here again.

"Reasonable priced hotel"

13/08/2018

The room is clean though a bit small. The staff are helpful and friendly. The services are good. It is near the shopping area Tsimshatsui. But the Jordan and Yaumati area nearby are not that appealling during night time. It is a bit far from MTR entrance.

08/08/2018

Stayed here for 3 nights the photos are misleading to say the least. Check in was slow and arrived at the room the rooms are very small 2 single beds which are not comfortable at all full of lumps and bumps. The bathroom is very small and dark which has a show curtain which I hate. The doesn't even have a bar. I will not return sorry.

"Not a fair business to deal with!!!"

1
03/08/2018

I made an error while booking 2 rooms through Orbitz..didn't remember there was a time zone change when travelling from Vancouver to Hong Kong....basically I lost a day! BUT this stupid management (of both the Hotel and Orbitz) didn't allow a change of date. When I suddenly realized my mistake I went to the the Orbitz website to try and make changes...VERY DIFFICULT,,,sent message to Hotel...no response...Orbitz Chat tried to help...answer was negative. In the meantime I had to ensure I had a room, so I booked again with the corrected date! What resulted was that I had a DOUBLE BOOKING and neither Orbitz (of which I WAS a Platinum Member) or the BEST WESTERN of which I'm a loyal guest could/would/should help! For the sake of a few hundred dollars they will lost thousands! Therefore I simply WASTED a few hundred dollars! I WILL punish these two organizations however by promoting them as unfair business people as much as I can!!! Orbitz will lose ALL my business and my staff's business worldwide! Same goes to Best Western!!!

"Below expectation"

24/07/2018

I've stayed at a Best Western hotel in Ermita in Manila that was waaaay better than this one in Austin HK. This one had the most awful wallpaper ever, cheap looking lighting fixtures and decor and overall atmosphere and feel was super depressing. And there seems to be no way to adjust the thermostat of the air-conditioner. Their buffet breakfast is not bad, but very limited choices. And the staff was not friendly at all. The only person who smiled at me was the cleaning lady. But location wise, it's a few minutes walk to Jordan MTR and Nathan Road. There's a Starbucks, a Marketplace mini mart, a 7-11, and a few small restaurants and bars around the area too.

"Great Location, but not Enough Space"

3
18/07/2018

This hotel is in a good location; just around the corner from Nathan Road and a ten minute walk to either the Temple St markets one way or the Hong Kong ferry the other. The only problem was the room was claustrophobic-ally small for two people with lots of luggage and it felt humid even with the air-con on. Another small problem was that they unexpectedly kept a $500 deposit for 14 days. The hotel was clean, the staff efficient, but it wouldn't hurt for them to smile occasionally.

"Worst Western Grand Hotel"

2
14/07/2018

Where do I start? Check in was 3pm without any exceptions. At 3pm there was a long queue in a very noisy lobby. We waited 40 minutes in the queue until we could check in. In the meantime an impolite security guard came over are told our children to be quiet. On another day as we were looking at a room with a pay for massage chair in the lobby, he came over and asked us what we were doing. After the long check in, we entered a very dark and gloomy small room. It was so small that the telephone and other items normally found on a desk were located on the window sill. There were only two electrical sockets in the room, one near the window and the other near the room door above the sink. The toilet was too cramped and the shower too tiny. The beds were small and the pillows hard and too high. internet in the room was poor and not consistent. But if you stand with your laptop near the door of the room the signal was better. The location of the hotel was not bad, about 5 minutes walk to Nathan Road and 10 minute walk to Chatham Road. Taxis are easy to get even during the night on the Austin Road entrance to the hotel. I would not want to visit this hotel again and would not recommend it to friends.

"Good location but small room."

4
10/07/2018

We had booked a Premium Twin Room with Extra Bed. The room was neat and clean, but quite small. However, the view made up for the space shortage. Our room was besides the lift so it was quite noisy at night. Our main complaint is related to the kitchen - The buffet breakfast was not worth the cost. It was the same menu for 3 of the 4 days we stayed there. The scrambled eggs were always cold & not much variety. The staff would go around with a noisy trolley to clear the used dishes while others are still sitting around and eating. Worst part - they will throw the used cutlery & plates into their trolley making such a loud racket. This happened every single morning. The location is quite good, walking distance to Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei & Jordan MTR.

"Good location"

09/06/2018

We've stayed here only one night on 3rd June 2018 and we wanted to stay 1 extra night but the price was a bit expensive so we moved to another hotel nearby. We were family 4 people stayed at 1812 and 1815, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, WiFi and A/C worked well, the bathrooms were narrow without bathtub but that's fine for us. We'll stay here again next time.

"Average hotel in a very good location"

18/05/2018

The hotel is located in a very busy area, with many bars and restaurants near by. The rooms are very small and the bathroom is extra small, shower is not made for a big person. The whole hotel is very clean and employees are very service orientated. A good hotel for business, not a family type hotel.

01/05/2018

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights 4 nights with my Son and one night with 3 persons. The first 4 nights we had the smallerst room you can think of. I had no clue where to put my suitcase. Room was clean. Beds where hard. Breakfast (not included) was terrible. The last night when there were 3 of us they moved is to a bigger room for 3 persons just big enough. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.... it was also not really cheap.

The location is a winner but there lots of hotel in that area to choose from, the toilet facilities is un believable small the tub is like a barrel the shower is short for normal people it's strange that is located that low, the funny thing is there is room to adjust it higher but they did not. The ratings for this hotel is completely wrong, dont waste time booking there. Worst of all the bed is uncomfortable.

"Terrible and extremely run down joint"

1
14/04/2018

Paid top dollar and allocated with a hole in the wall hotel room. Complained and had to pay an extra hundred bucks for a handicapped room which was really an upsell technique to milk the hotel guest. Hotel reception was dirty and the check in staff looked disinterested and bordering on rudeness. Trying to let as many people know to avoid this joint. You can stay at better establishments so do yourselves a favour and your sanity.

"Grand disappointment "

09/04/2018

The room is very small, the toilet and bath is tiny - I wonder how a person with a wider girth would be able to sit on the water closet - and with very basic toiletries, the beds weren't comfortable, and the blankets were not even proper blankets. The room was stinky - obviously a smoking room or one that's been a smoking room before - and the WIFI was really slow which sometimes stopped working too. Not impressed with cleanliness either. Poor value for money.

I stayed here from 2 nights in April 2018. The Hotel is not good, The check in was fine, just when you get to the rooms they are not a truth reflection of the photos on the website. The rooms are tiny infant they are that small you don't have a wardrobe !!! The bathroom is to a similar scale a well, as for the beds what can i say am not that tall but your feet will hangover the edge of the bed and they are rock hard. This is a fairly large hotel but does not have a bar.

The room was small but did what it needed to do. We had trouble finding the hotel originally but once we had found it, it was very simple. From Jordan metro station take exit D, turn left and keep walking until you see hillwood road. Turn left onto hillwood road and walk until you reach the end, there you will find the hotel. Room had a mini fridge and fresh bottles of water were provided every day. Restaurant in hotel was delicious and we wish we had gone there more. Staff were friendly and room was always clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

25/03/2018

It nice hotel but very small, it was ok for 3 days but any longer there was no space to move around or even to pack properly. There is no security to the hotel even thought there was a sign when entering but no-one cared, anyone can access any floors in the hotel. The staff there spoke little or even no English. It was in a good location there was couple of 24 hours café nearby and some bakery. The bathroom was very small and shower did not work properly.

This hotel has small room and a very small bathroom. The hotel itself is not homey, seems old and elevator is small, same with the reception area, and it's very crowded when we check in. All in all i dont see the cost of staying there is worth it. Staff are friendly though

"Ickle room.... dated decor"

3
12/03/2018

We stayed here here a few nights before heading off to a city break.... so thought this hotel will do what we need. Location It's relatively central walkable to alot of places and you can get taxi and mini buses of required, around 10-15 min walk to nearest mrt station. The rooms are tiny!!! I know hk is small but wow you can't even fit a chair in there. ... There's no way to pack suitcases properly. the toilet was sooooo small that my DH couldn't sit properly in there without feeling squished. He couldn't shower properly cos he was too tall... he had to hold the shower head lol... I was fine as I'm small anyway. The room seems clean but the daily cleaner isn't very attentive... the cups were used but they don't swap it out like other hotels for new ones. They just fill the tea and coffees and water...take rubbish away and make the bed. All in all it did the job and for the price of it.... well it was OK. I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a few night... u can't really relax unless you just want to sit on the bed! Also taxi drivers don't seem to have a clue where this hotel is!

"Closet sized room, dated decor, ancient looking, good location & friendly staff"

2
05/03/2018

Honestly even compared to other Best Western, this particular Grand hotel has nothing grand about it. The lobby is dark and those chandeliers are simply ugly. I don't know why they choose the Gold theme. The rooms are small despite buying a higher category. The closet space is simply laughable and lower grade room does not come with any drawer space. I don't think two people should share a room with twin beds. Basically the only saving grace is the staff. Kelvin, the front desk manager, is very friendly, as well as Ricky, the concierge. The location is acceptable, but Nathan road is 5-7 minutes walk away from the hotel. However, there are plenty of restaurants, especially Korean restaurants nearby, and there is 7-11, two supermarkets and plenty of drugstores. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone because of the sad looking state of the room. It is unfortunate given the great staffs.

4
03/02/2018

Very convenient location in Kowloon. Bus 21A for 22 HK$ gets you from the airport to within 300 m walking distance to the hotel. Way back eqally easy. Rooms are small but have everything that is needed and the price is reasonable. Many places to eat and shop arround. Walking distance to underground, markets and some attractions. Easy and short walk for shopping and to the ferry to Macau. A big park nearby. Good service. Possibility to leave luggage for the day under good care. Overall a very positive experience from the total of 3 visits...

"The hotel is fine but people still smoke inside"

2
07/01/2018

The hotel is fine , I had to attend a workshop at the same location, reason why I chose it. I did not take their breakfast as it was not included but there are a few caffes a short walking distance from the hotel and a supermarket as well. The hotel rooms are clean, however somehow people smoke in the hotel even though it is supposed to be a non smoking hotel (I think) and the smoke smell comes in the room. I hate that. This really wakes me up. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the nearest MTR station. Plenty of buses that go to the airport on Nathan Rd. I hope the management can do something about it.

"Room we got is small."

3
29/12/2017

My friends and I went to Hong Kong for the holidays on Christmas day and I booked our hotel rooms here for us. Most hotels are either fully booked or more expensive than usual being a holiday and so this was our choice as others were way too far from the city or too costly for us. First thing I noticed when we got off our floor on the 18th is that the corridor was narrow and the ceiling was somewhat low. I already had a premonition of what to expect when we were about to enter our room. I was right for the moment I opened the door, the room was quite small and you practically have no space to put your luggage except over or under the bed. Even the bathroom was small that the sink was located inside the room. The shower was a bit tight. There are no closets, cabinets nor decent table to write except for a night table and small nightstand. There's free coffee and a maker placed on a window ledge, flat screen TV and a mini ref located under the sink and that's it. This room I think was originally a single bed unit designed for transient businessmen but then converted to a twin bed unit thereby explaining why the room was so cramped. The room however was decent and clean enough although the spring bed was a bit hard and lumpy but tolerable also external noise is audible to an extent but not too bad. We asked the reception if we could have a bigger room as my other friend said his was bigger but then he paid much more, we were informed they will charge HK$550 extra per night for the same bigger size room and so we decided to just keep the current room as the extra cost seems not worth it. Best Western brand of hotels I've been like in other countries like the US are generally of good quality, moderately priced and quite roomy. But this site has the smallest rooms they have in my experience. But those of you not familiar with Hong Kong hotels, be wary as many do have small rooms, unusual for tall westerners and even for an Asian like me.

Careful if you book and it says you can cancel. Evidently the cancellation fee is the cost of the room. Waiting to hear back if they will allow me to apply the fee to another room for a day earlier. If not, I will update. Heard from another person the price is too high for the room size.

"Pleasant solo stay "

5
22/12/2017

This is my first solo trip to HK and I've chosen to stay in a hotel. Past reviews were between the scale of Good and Average. I was a bit hesitant and was not so hopeful for the stay but after staying here for 5d4n, I was more than glad to have stayed here in a comfortable and homely room. What I love about this hotel: 1. Excellent and Fast Service from Staff The receptionist was helpful enough to check me in even though I was a bit early. She gave directions to places I asked and furnished a map to help me visually. All in good English. There will be guards stationed at the lobby to help with the directions and pressing of lifts. The staff will never fail to greet me whenever they see me. I encountered a leaking pipe and they came to my rescue and fixed everything within 10mins. Not a second wasted. 2. Homely room. I love the colour and ambience of the room. I can't complain about the size since I was staying there alone and Hong Kong is a space-constraint country. But it was pretty roomy for another person to bunk in. The toilet is small but it's still good enough to have a good bath. I'm glad that I can also adjust the temperature of the room as it can get really cold at night. The housekeeping team is really quick to ensure that the linen has been changed and the room is clean. 3. Location of hotel A short walk from Jordan MTR about 5 mins. It's also a walking distance to the Museum. It's so easy to navigate to tourist locations from the hotel. Surrounded by quite a number of eateries and cafes, marts and convenience stores. I enjoy talking long walks around the area because I know I will not get lost trying to find my hotel :) A lively neighbourhood! As an easily contented soul, I find the stay a really pleasant one, provided you do not have High class expectations. You get what you paid for but I felt like the service and environment I've gotten were all worthy. Thank you Best Western Grand Hotel! I hope to see you again during my next visit.

The hotel was good value and we chose because it was are close to the metro, bus stops. we used Uber in HK as well as local taxis. The hotel is close to shopping, restaurants as well as nightlife. There is a massage chair in their exercise room--but this closes at 10 pm--perhaps the hotel could allow use of it late at night after days walking! All staff were very helpful --we needed to print some tickets--there is a pc in reception for guest use, but this did not work for us--wasted 1 hour--perhaps the hotel can offer printing service?

room is quite small but overall a pleasant stay. the shower is quite small, not recommended for anybody 200 pounds above, you will not fit, i am 160 lbs 5'9" height and i had a very hard time taking a shower. staff are friendly especially the cleaning lady. the night market is walking distance, its just across austin rd. cheap food are available within a short walking distance. a 711 is nearby and so is Yuen Kee, you can also buy from Lok Sam Fast Food Shop for quick and cheap eats, yup, the other reviews were right, the room is quite small but you just need a secure place to sleep and leave you stuff while you go out the whole day exploring HK. Will definitely go back

Service is wanting, staff are not polite and rooms are shoe boxes. If you have a bad back and the doctor prescribes a firm bed, then you're in luck, the beds are flat boards with linen. Don't be misled by hype. It has a good location but a dozen others do better.

The hotels location is good with just 7 mins away from jordan MTR. The view was nice too. The room was cozy and not too small as are all other places in Hong Kong. The bathroom is super small too. But our main problem was that the fridge was super small, the size of car fridges.

29/11/2017

Space is at a premium in this city and that is reflected in this hotel from the lobby to the room. The room itself is small and dominated by the bed because not much else will fit in. There's no storage space at all and cases have to go under the bed or else you will be tripping over them. The wash basin is in the room and not the tiny bathroom. House keeping was a bit hit and miss and one day our room wasn't cleaned at all. Having said all this the hotel is in a very good location being only a 5 minute walk from nearest MTR station and with direct airport bus service on the main road. We didn't try the food because it was expensive and besides there were many places to eat along Nathan road and side streets. Great location as a base for exploring the city but wouldn't stay again.

"Very disappointing"

22/11/2017

It is always hard for me to write a poor review especially when there are hard working people involved. This is written with the hope that the feedback provided leads to improvement. 1. Poor attention to detail in cleanliness: multiple hairs found in bath room. A lot of moldy spots in the bathroom's tile. 2. Stained white towels 3. Tiny rooms. No place to put suitecase. 4. Horrible bed! Very thin matress and springs felt when lying in bed. Maybe you can provide an egg crate matress pad? 5. Watch out for the bed sizes when making reservation. They tried to charge us an additional $30 a night so we could have a double bed! 6. Overcrowded elevators during rush hour. May take as long as 20min to get out of hotel. 7. Despite all the bad, excellent location.

"Not suitable for long stay"

21/11/2017

I have stayed in many hotels in Hong Kong in the past and am always conscious of price vs room size & comfort. However? the Best Western Grand hotel room is the smallest rooom I ever stayed in HK. Although it has most of hotel facilities including a small security safe in the room it is just too small for 2 guests in the room? If you have more than 1 suitcase you have to stall it underneath your bed. The location of the hotel is just average at best. At times it will be difficult to find a taxi and Austin Avenue can be congested. The service of staff provided is good but I can only recommend a stay of no more than 1 or 2 days in this hotel.

Good location , but hotel facility and renovation is so worn out. It is very disappointed for it to go under the Best Western Hotel group name which I was expecting it somehow matches the north American standard. I did not expected it would be great since in general the price is quite economic. But it at least need to meet the min standard. I was there during the China holiday week and paid CAD$184 per night for the 1st week in October. Hotel staffs are very friendly especially housekeeping.

This hotel is located near a major shopping area with a number of good restaurants and is within a reasonable walking distance from a Cityflyer (Airport) bus stop and a train station. (A free bus shuttle is available to take you from the hotel to the train station). The hotel is about an hour from the airport by bus. The staff are friendly and have a reasonable understanding of English.Seats in the foyer are covered with plastic and we found sitting in one area while waiting for our room was not permitted. The hotel provides two small bottles of water as the tap water is not recommended for human consumption - so I recommend bringing some water with you.Our standard room was quite small and in need of a desperate renovation with masking tape in a corner of the bath, and insufficient space for our luggage to be opened anywhere except on the bed. The bed cover was dirty with marks on its cover and mold located in the folds of the shower curtain. Included in our package was a buffet breakfast for two days. We only attended on the first day as we found it very disappointing. While the buffet attempted to provide a mix of good Asian and Western Food, it failed in the western area with poor quality food and a particularly odd selection of food. While the fresh pineapple and watermelon were tasty, most "hot" food was not kept hot and could easily spoil. The processed ham and chicken sausages were held in lukewarm water, the fish dumpling was cold, the lukewarm scrambled eggs and baked beans were watery and the mashed potato was cold. I felt it was a health issue waiting to happen. Our standard room was located above the twentieth floor and did not notice any premium rooms. We would not stay at this hotel again and are disappointed our travel agent thought it suitable.

"a good hotel in great location but the Vent issue was a definite NO NO for me"

22/08/2017

hi, i stayed there on August 10-12 and the hotel was great. it was within walking distance to many shopping areas, food areas and other destinations. the room was small but i expected that given the precious space in hong kong. everything was perfect until i started smelling scent of cigarette smoke on the first night. i didn't think of anything, and just thought that the room may be switched from smoking to non smoking from time to time. but the second night, it got worse,...and worst in the morning where i found out where the smell came from. It must be from some vent system in the toilet because i was not able to use the toilet that morning without covering up my nose and mouth (i have asthma and am allergic to smoke). I ended up using the toilet down at the lobby. my clothes smelled like cigarette.. i must say that that morning, what happened was not only a nuisance, but unhealthy and this is the first i've ever experienced such strong , bad ventilation system such as this.

"Very cramped room with hard mattresses "

3
16/08/2017

The room is very small. It uses the side of the window to store the water boiler and cups. The room is so small that keeping a suitcase open would be difficult. The air conditioning is good. The mattress is very hard. So it is a three star hotel which is what you could expect from best western. Old fashioned furnitures in an old building. Location isn't bad.

Just checked out from the hotel on Sunday night. I have stayed for 4 nights here. The bed was ridiculous in bad condition - hard & bad quality (We can feel the spring of the bed and it was hurtful when we turn). We informed housekeeper to add a topper and yet it wasn't help at all. Receptionist was rude and impolite. They pulled long their face for the whole check in and check out process. And I'm very sure that I don't owe them any single cents. The plus point is only go to the housekeeping staff who take care of 28th floor. She is friendly and attentive all times.

We stayed here last week in a family group so booked six standard rooms. I have stayed in several hotels of different standards in Hong Kong before but this is by far the worst. The rooms as too small for two people and the shower is more like a cupboard with an ill-placed sprinkler! The staff are very rude and dis-interested in their job. The "free wifi" is totally inadequate for the size of the hotel and doesn't work properly, especially in the evening when most guests are back in the hotel. There are many hotels in Hong Kong so I would strongly advise you select another. We certainly will not come back here. If the management is reading this please do not put one of your standard "we will pass your comments to Top Management". It shows you cannot even be bothered to reply properly!

If you are not a budget crunch, i would advice please dont stay at this property. The property is very basic and the rooms actually stink. The rooms end as you enter. The staff doesny understanr your language i.e english. I am telling you, you are going to have a tough time. For a family this hotel is not recommended at all. The service is super slow. Juat one thing is good, the rooms are at a very reasonable price.

Value for the budget conscious traveller. Small and tiny rooms and showers with some facilities like the room safe barely working. Staff got it working eventually at a comfortable pace. Do expect other budget conscious travellers here as well. Walkable to the mtr stations between Jordan and Tsim Sha Tsui with pllenty to see and eat along the way. Breakfast provided was not worth mentioning but very cheap at HK88 compared with other nearby hotels.

Great location for exploring Hong Kong. Rooms are very small but expected when staying in Hong Kong. If you want a large room, expect to pay a small fortune. Room was a little damp but did not bother me much as I was only staying for 3 nights and was not in the room much. Basic affordable stay, would stay again.

Nice location. Walking distance from Jordan & TST MTR station. 7-11 & departmental stores are just next to the hotel. Quick check In & Check out. Airport Shuttle pickup & drop available at just 500 mtrs from hotel. Small rooms as you can expect in a city like Hongkong. Overall good experience.

"Hotel or Prison cell?"

28/04/2017

Hello, I booked (luckly) just for one night. The bad experience in hotel of my life. The room are, in dimensions, a prison cell. The bathroom is unusable (too small). I tried to sit to do a "job" and I couldn't fit. The wifi didn't work also after called the service. The bad is for "brave". I didn't felt in sleep all night long, fortunately I left the room at 5 clock in the morning to go to the airport. At the end I can tell without any doubt.... The worst hotel of my life.

"Excellent/Convenient Location- No Consideration for guests"

25/04/2017

The location of the hotel is excellent with only a short walk to Jordan MTR station. However, the rooms are rather small and smelled of mildew/urine. I changed rooms and got the same smell so didn't ask for another change. Small rooms I understand since it's HK, but the smell I couldn't get past. My reason for the bad review is simple: I made a reservation for 8 nights and pre-paid via another hotel booking site. But due to an emergency, had to leave after my 2nd night. I asked the staff at checkout whether I could get a refund or perhaps a credit at the hotel for the unused nights and was told "no" due to the type of reservation. My fault....I didn't buy the travel insurance for hotel stay. Then, they asked me for $20 HKD for the 4 phone calls I had made from the room. I then asked whether the funds from the unused nights could be used towards that amount and was rudely told no, the billing for that is separate and I had to pay right away. I paid and left, but needless to say that it left a bad taste in my mouth. They had over $700HKD in unused nights and still needed to get another $20HKD from me.

"Disappointing for a 4 STAR Rating"

23/04/2017

Room very small. Only one person can move around the bed. No chairs in room. Could feel and hear every spring in the mattress. Bathroom very small. Only 3 clothes hangers for 2 persons. Hallways and room smelling funny unpleasant. Need freshening up. Plastic mugs for coffee in room. Room service quick but food not enjoyable because fish tasted very oily due to to being deep fried in over-used oil.

18/04/2017

Rooms are way too small, you cannot move around, no space around the bed. Toilets are smaller than in plane... The bed is not confortable at all, harder than stone, small as well, bedsheets are thin, nice combo! Wifi is terrible, disconnect all the time, emails are not sending out. Even McDonalds' is better. AC system is super loud (you cannot sleep with it on). Cleaning rings at your door even though you put the "do not disturb" sign in you knob. A tiny empty fridge (maximum 4 Soda cans) is at your disposal but not really efficient. No space to put your clothes, only one side bed lamp. Only 3 elevators, 10 minutes to go down in the morning. Breakfast is not so great. "Fitness room" is like the bedrooms: small (2square meters) and poorly equipped... Staff is nice though..

"tiny bathroom, small rooms, quiet"

4
01/04/2017

Easy access to Nathan Rd., Jordan MTR station, and walking distance to Canton Street and the ferry dock. Rooms are quite small with little extra space. The bathroom is so tiny, the toilet paper is behind your head! Some rooms don't even have a cupboard or a tub. Corner rooms are larger, but they are near the elevator. The location however, is ideal. It's very central and close to Korean restos, and convenience grocery stores.

"The location was good but nothing else was."

27/03/2017

Apart from Jimmy Tong and the housekeeping staff, the attitude of other reception staff was unhelpful. The room was cramped with no wardrobe, table, chair or drawers. The bed was ridiculously hard. The bathroom was tiny - so small in fact that the handbasin was in the room itself. The shower flooded because the drainage was either blocked or insufficient. The hotel refused to accept the booking which I had made 8 months earlier because I no longer had the credit card which had been used. This was despite the fact that the payment had been taken from my card on 3rd July!! The hotel would not allow me to check-in without first pre-authorising another full payment against another card. It became a daily battle to resolve this issue and blighted our whole stay in Hong Kong. I have used Best Western around the world, from Australia to London but this hotel failed to meet the expectations and standards of such a well-known brand.

Hotel is located in the Tsimshashui area. Its close to metro station and China ferry terminal (if you are going to Maccau). Rooms are tiny..manageable if you are traveling as couple. didn't try the food, so no comments. the front office staff are friendly and nice. room has basic facilities. "dont unpack"

2
20/03/2017

Not bad on location however rooms are tiny my husband is 5 foot 7 and did not fit on the bed in length and his feet almost touched the wall in front. Toilet your shoulders touch wall to wall when you sit and shower is so small you become intimate with the shower curtain. The unbelievable part is there are no wardrobes or draws in room to unpack, and 2 suitcases do not fit in the room if you want to walk around bed certainly not open either one, so be prepared to get your suit case from under bed every time you need something. Our most unappealing part was how rude and unhelpful the majority of the staff are. Not one looks like they want to be there and let you know it. One girl every 3rd or so guest ends up fighting with her in the reception area. Stay somewhere else its enough to spoil your holiday.

"Not Grand at all!"

2
19/03/2017

I stayed at the Best Western Hotel chain many times, this was a huge disappointment. The Good: location is not bad at all if you consider that the hotel have access from Hillwood Rd. to Nathan Rd. so you are close by to everywhere. The Bad: Sleep quality sucks, hard mattress with metal fence like feel when you move your hand over the mattress, it was BAD BED! pillow quality not great. and small bed. the bathroom was crazy small, the place the roll of paper behind you so it will be super easy to use :) I attached picture to show it! The towels are practically rags, I took picture and you can see my hand behind the towel. The ugly: they refused to credit my points for staying at Best Western hotel since I booked it on Travelocity. Over all there are much better choices around …. I don't think I will stay there again. Limited Channels on the TV! Wifi was decent! If you need to go to the Airport here is a tip: take the Hillwood Rd to Nathan rd. in the corner turn right to the traffic light Cross the Road and go few steps to the left and you will find the bus station to the Airport, A21.

"Worst Hotel stayed at"

1
26/11/2016

The room was too small compared to the price we had to pay. The toilet was even smaller than a plane's toilet. The bed was so hard that it hurt our back. We had to ask for 5 extra blankets that we used as a cushion for our bed, but the bed was still hard as brick. Not recommended!!

"Remember you're there to be outside the hotel most of the time."

24/11/2016

I had brought my fiance for the first time to HK to meet my family. The hotel was cheap(ish) and central for where we needed to travel to/from daily. The Hotel is only a short 5 min walk from lots of tasty restaurants, bars and shops in Tsim Sha Tsui, and close to Jordan where they have tasty authentic street food and a night market about 15 mins away. Kowloon Harbour and its iconic skyline are also a 20-30 min walk away. If its raining or you like big shopping centres (and i mean seriously big and high end fashion) you have the Harbour city/Ocean centre fairly close and Elements a bit further away (id suggest a taxi here). If you prefer a bit of green in the urban jungle visit the beautiful Kowloon park about 10/15 mins walk away, with outdoor swimming pool for kids, wildlife and an aviary and lovely well manicured gardens and ponds . In regards to the public transport, the MTR, nearest station is Jordan, its perfect if you want to get to Central or Kowloon Tong, but bit more of a long winded journey to Kowloon Harbour (if you didnt want to walk). You could however get a taxi pretty much anywhere and fares are really cheap in £Sterling. We stayed in up in second to top floor. As expected from its photos, It was very small, but brighter than i thought it be. It had a big window, and as we were high up, the view was good, with no other buildings blocking it. The room was clean but didn't have a wardrobe or hangers, so we couldnt hang up our clothes, and the sink was in an alcove behind the front door. This was the only place with a mirror and the spotlight was horrendous for doing your make up. The bathroom was tiny, but the water pressure and thermostat was good. Aircon was also good, and not hard to regulate. There's a mini fridge. The beds were large, very firm but comfortable. The breakfast was the biggest disappointment, actually so much so we often bailed and went elsewhere to eat, which was a waste since we prepaid when booking. We had a typhoon while staying so we had dinner in-house one evening, that was pretty disappointing as well. Service at restaurant was attentive and friendly though. oh and wait by the toaster for your toast to finish toasting when your at breakfast. Just outside the hotel there is a budget massage parlor called Sparkles - good strong masseuses there if you're feet are aching from walking around. And you're never far from a 7/11 or CircleK (little convenient stores) within 10 steps of the hotel front door in case you need last minute toiletries, or have an attack of the munchies in the middle of the night. All in all - My fiance loved it, and we had a comfortable stay at the hotel, and there was plenty right on its doorstep to do, see, eat and that's what it was all about. HK is a beautiful, lively, bright, exciting place full of life's most enjoyable experiences, we didn't visit to stay cooped up in the hotel worrying about its limitations.

"Bedbugs"

2
17/11/2016

Rooms are small. 5-minute walk from Jordan MTR station. This is the 2nd time I stayed in this hotel. The first one was ok. But this time, the room I stayed with has plenty of bedbugs and my legs were full of bites in the morning and itchy. I ask to make-up our room. When we got back in the room, it was tidied and I thought the towel rug was teplace because it was neatly folded. When I laid it on the floor, I saw the same spot of dirt that was there earlier. Which made me think if the cleaner changed our towels or not.

"Very small room"

3
15/11/2016

The location is good because it is near The Rosary Catholic Church and many restaurants are in the vicinity. The hotel is clean and newly refurbished. The only drawback is the room is very very small and even the bath room is truly small. It can accommodate very petite guests because for obese, he or she will not be accommodated.

"Below Average Hotel"

3
11/11/2016

I would recommend BW Grand to anyone visiting HK. The rooms are cramped up, bathroom space and fixtures are apt for a kid not for an adult. Hardly any space to keep luggage and clothes. In place of a wardrobe, a few inches deep niche is all you have. I was on staying alone so it was still Okay to a large extent, but if you are planning to stay on a double occupancy, the space is just inadequate. I would not say that the staff are not helpful, rather they are non responsive and non reactive. They are not a lot who would engage into a coversation with you. The lobby is small, pretty much like a metro rail ticket booth. The rest room in the lobby is kept under lock and you have to aks for keys to use it. The quality of the food served in the inhouse French restaurant is nothing great. Breakfast is very basic and zero service unlike our Indian hotels. There was a price surge due to the typhoon. Priced very high for the level and quality.

"Horrible internet"

1
10/11/2016

Been traveling around and even mainland china had better internet than this hotel. Impossible to skype / whatsapp / wechat with anybody for longer than 1 minute without interuption. Except for the internet the rooms are ok considering it is hong kong

"Convenient Budget hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui"

3
07/11/2016

Having stayed in at lease 4 hotels in Hong kong during my vacation this year, this is the cheapest that among all, and of course so as the size of the room. You will find it is hardly place your lugagues anywhere inside the room but to stuck it under your extra small bed. The bath room also so samll that only allow a toilet bowl and a tiny shower space (with curtain only), the sink is placed behind the room entrance(door). I don't see there are any hotel facilities available in the hotel except a small cafeteria. However, if you are on a budget travel that doesn't really care about what this hotel will offer to you, it might still a good choice for you.

"Smaller rooms almost not possible"

2
05/11/2016

I am aware the hotel rooms in hong kong are rather small, but this room for HKD 1150.- has hit my pain nerve big time...no table to put anything, no wardrobe at all and at last, using the toilet is an other issue you dont want to know...

"Best Location, Most Reasonable Price, Shopping Heaven, Very Safe"

5
03/11/2016

This is probably one of the best locations to visit in Hong Kong and Macau. If you are on a budget, there is no place better than here. The service staff was extremely friendly and answered all my queries at check-in. They explained everything and I had no surprise charges on check out. The housekeeping was prompt and serviced my room punctually. I had a very good price for my stay, and it saved me money to spend on shopping. It was easy to access using the A21 Airport Bus; this is the cheapest and most direct way to get here. The hotel is on a side alley to the famous Nathan Road golden mile strip, the best place for shopping in Hong Kong. The Jordan MTR is probably the closest stop to this place. The area around the hotel is extremely safe, with a lot of police present. There are many bars and restaurants in front of the Nathan road entrance to this hotel. It is, in fact, not necessary to go anywhere. One can just spend a few days hanging out on Nathan road. The sights of Hong Kong are easily accessible via the MTR, and Macau is pretty easy to get to using the China Ferry Terminal. It is best to visit over the weekend, as there is less traffic, more people on the street, and cheaper taxi prices. Hong Kong taxis are metered, they will not cheat you, and tips are not required; communication gap may be the worst problem. Beside the hotel is the Kowloon cricket club, with lawn bowling and two Olympic-sized swimming pools. This seems to be the only green space in the concrete Kowloon area.

"Nice hotel "

4
01/11/2016

I got to stay in this hotel after purchasing a tour package. I was a little worried at first because of all the negative reviews but the place is actually fine. The rooms are very small but big enough to fit a king sized bed. Everything is clean. The closest MTR station is Jordan which is about a 10 min walk from the hotel.

"Economical hotel near Korean restaurant row."

3
28/10/2016

Very small rooms with little service, economical rates include breakfast. Reminds me of dorm rooms. Good value for the money though, everything is available within walking distance. Restaurants and convenience stores are immediately outside the hotel.

"Convenient Location"

5
26/10/2016

This is my fourth stay at this facility, it is located near all points of interest in Kowloon or near bus and subway that can get you there My observation over 5 yrs of visiting Hong Kong is there are fewer and fewer westerners visiting as there is less need of them as the city is filled with mainland Chinese who have plenty of money to fill hotels and restaurants, there for it harder to find English speaking employees. Still worth the 15 hour flights from US.

"Best location, Average room and breakfast"

24/10/2016

I Stayed in Best Western Grand Tsim Sha Tsui at October 16-19 th. here are my review : - Room: The room is quite small (i suggest you bring 20-24 Inch luggage) and the amenities is like 3* hotel for me. and the bathroom is cramped. - Room service : Have no idea, because I didn't use the room service. but, they do not understand english well, but they quite friendly. - Lobby : There are 2 lobbies in this hotel, 1 in the ground floor (the smaller one, usually use for personal guest), and the 2nd one in the 2nd floor (The bigger one, usually use for group) - Breakfast : The breakfast lounge is not so big, and the variety of the menu not so many. (please be aware that they have pork menu) - Location : One of the best location. there are 7 eleven just a few steps from the Ground floor lobby (from the lobby, turn left) and much cafe, Bar and BBQ place from the 2nd floor lobby (just go sraigth from 2nd floor lobby) note: since there are only 3 small elevator for the whole 29 floors hotel, you have to consider to wake up earlier if you have scheduled appointment. because waiting the elevator, is take some times.

"Bad service. Bad room. Can do much better for the price."

23/10/2016

Well, where do I begin? I had to change hotels part way through my stay in Hong Kong and this hotel was one of the few available on the addition nights I needed to stay. Being in a few different hotels gives a bit of perspective on what hotels in the area are like. This place is horrible. Took 30 minutes to check in and get the keys. This is not including the time waiting in line and there were no issues with the booking. Rooms were small with poor lighting. The room size is OK for Hong Kong but with dark wallpaper and poor quality lights it just makes it seem worse. When you get anything approaching hot water (which I did not), the shower-over-bath is designed so that any water landing on one wall is actually funnelled right onto to the floor. The fridge is large enough only to fit one 500ml water bottle. ONE. Not that it even cooled that down. Bed is the hardest I have ever slept on. You can feel the individual springs throughout the mattress, not to mention the split where two single beds were joined together. Went to use the bathroom near the restaurant and the regular ones were being cleaned, so I thought I would try the disabled cubicle. I feel sorry for anyone disabled who would need to use the bathroom as the room was completed full of cleaning supplies that you wouldn't even be able to step in, let alone get a wheelchair inside. The location is close enough to get where you need to go, but you can get a better location for a similar price and with better qualify food etc around. TLDR: Bad service. Bad room. Can do much better for the price.

"Stay clear of this place"

1
20/10/2016

I have been traveling on business for 2 weeks all over China and this is by far the worst hotel of the trip. Dark dingy rooms with hardly enough room to get the suitcase in. TV quality is crap and very limited facilities. The bed is the worst I have every slept in. Very cheap mattress with springs. No padding so you can feel the springs every time you move. Breakfast was crap as is the general service. Should be a Worst Western

"No, no, dont even think of staying here"

1
19/10/2016

The rooms are small even for HK standards, Im talking Walk-in closet size room, service that is so lousy, I mean im sure they get tones of complains about the room size so the staff is stressed and in certain cases given up. This is a new hotel, they made it this size, so they cant complain that HK rooms are small, cos they have redefined what small size HK hotel rooms mean. The Breakfast is HORRID, you wont get eggs made your way, its sham and a shame in the name of best western!!!

This hotel is in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, with a very attentive and caring staff. Room is small but clean. If you want to find food, it's every where! Breakfast: not so good, not a lot variety to choose from.

"Compact and how!!"

The hotel for the fare and the location is very reasonable The rooms are extremely tiny and 2 people in a standard room will be pushing it with luggage If you are alone and travelling light, it's fine. Bare bone amenities and the good thing is the wifi is reasonable Like I said above the fare and the location in Tshim Tsha Tsui is good and accessible to the MTR, and the ferry for crossing over to the Hongkong side!

Room very small, i need to walk side ways to fit in near the bed and the wall. No table and chair. Bathroom too small. Bed is hard, not comfortable to sleep. Housekeeper are nice. Always greets guest good morning. Front office, so so. Breakfast same limited foods for 5 days of my stay. Not a good experience but not the worst as well. Might try somethi g else next time though.

25 min to Check in. Room is really small, not even a chair to hang my jacket on. Outdated decoration, cheap mattress. My inflight screen was larger than the room TV quich only had one English speaking channel. Helpless staff. Just bad. Really.

"Just okay, nothing to rave about."

Rooms and bathrooms are too small. The sink is outside the bathroom and beside the main door. The room/bed sheets smells musty. Had to ask them to change ours. Staffs are just okay. Those at the luggage area and cleaners are helpful while those at the reception are not so friendly. 5-10minutes walk to Jordan Station.

Room is very small. But the view is fantastic at level 29. Checked in by Ms Christina, helpful and accommodating. Hotel near to Jordan MTR. Room cleaning need to improve, I found the packing of chewing gum under the bed, from first day until I check out, no one take action to clean it.

Will definitely book at this hotel if i go back to hongkong. Quite a long walk to the subway station so sometimes cant be bothered to walk and get a taxi instead. The room was nice and clean and a friendly room cleaner. No cupboards for clothes.

If you pay less than hkd750 per night it is reasonable value and not a bad option. But don't expect professional service. For me the biggest black mark is the service. Abrasive bordering on plain rude. The front desk act as if you are inconveniencing them by checking in. Security treat you like a suspicious character when you enter the lobby. They appear to be not fond of all foreigners and are only warm to local Hong Kong Chinese. Quite strange given they work in the hotel industry and most guests are tourists! That said the housekeeping staff are very friendly and helpful. Good: -Hotel is modern and relatively new. -Rooms and common areas are clean and well maintained. -Room size is normal for Hong Kong. -Nicely decorated rooms, double bed was decent size. -cable tv -location is good, lots of restaurants around. Not too far from Jordan mtr. The hotel lies within "Korea town" Bad: -Beds and pillows are rather hard. -Washbasin is outside the bathroom, quite strange but not a massive concern. -room service portions tiny, though not overly expensive. -service is quite poor. You'd think if you worked in a hotel you would be polite. The only friendly people in the hotel I met were housekeeping.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms compare to staying in a hostel. Probably worse. Whilst I wasn't expecting spacious rooms, the size was ridiculous. No room for suitcases, the toilet and shower are so close that they're almost merging. The sink is in the bedroom. In addition, building works on the both entrances so some noise was heard. I asked to move to a higher floor, this room was the same size but at least the sink was in the bathroom. We paid 150 pounds a night for a twin room as it was a public holiday weekend. The beds were rock hard and so close to each other that they could be considered a queen bed. Very disappointing. The only positive side is the location as it is within walking distance to Jordon station on Nathan road. Loved Hong Kong though, next time, will choose a different hotel.

Very Small rooms. Tiny bathroom very uncomfortable bathroom, Little facility in the room. No space in the room even to keep your luggage. Only plus point is the location. Good eating joints in the vicinity nice malls

Service - HongKong style, practical and to the point. Location - seems quite a distance to walk from Jordan MTR exit D. But otherwise a good location within the city. ~30mins/HK$250 (incl tolls) from airport. Facilities - good consistent shower temperature and pressure. Firm but comfortable bed with good sound proofing. Small room and toilet. Food - Didn't try. Took breakfast outside of hotel.

What a wastage of money, this hotel promises! I am sure if you have money please go for this hotel. If you enter the hotel no bell boy carrying 9 suitcases. Wash basin inside the room toilet too small to enter. No space to put luggage. Manager has no power. He doesn't want to call the higher authority because he is sleeping. Customers sleep doesn't matter .

"Average hotel, better options exist vis a vis connectivity"

3
11/09/2016

We found this hotel average, the location is not stellar (not connected via airport express/long walk from tsim tsha tsui metro), some of the approach roads are a bit shady. Kowloon street market is somewhat close though. Service was ok but they charge for extra days of luggage storage, breakfast is not free. Rooms are fine (at par with area in terms of size) We stayed at other hotels after this place and found them better in terms of metro connectivity and services offered. If you are planning to commute via metro on regular basis including airport, I would recommend you to consider other better options.

08/09/2016

When I arrived into the hotel, first I met a very friendly staff with full of smile at reception and she helped and cared of my stay alot. My room was nice and large with big windows. Location is one of right center of city with lots of shops and restaurants around, and airport bus stop is nearby. Only thing I can complain is the shower room was not really clean. I will definitely come back.

"Small with good location and view"

07/09/2016

They were nice enough to hold on to our luggage before check in since we were traveling to Macau before shifting here. This hotel room is really compact with very little space to open bags and unpack comfortably. But having our expectation sorted out before check in, we weren't complaining. Also they gave us the top most floor room and it had a great view of the city. They are a bit far from Tsa Tsim Tsui center, but yet connected well to the nearby important places. We had some technical hiccups with a heating machine but their team sorted it out quickly. Our package didn't have bfast included so it was always a quick walk to nearby 7-11 to get food. We didn't spend any other time in the room except for giving rest to your legs.

"A budget hotel"

3
29/08/2016

The only plus point with the hotel is its proximity to Jordan MTR station and location in the hart of the city with market, restaurants etc near by. Otherwise the room and specially the bath room sizes are not to be speak about. If the person visiting is of more than 6 ft height it will be very uncomfortable for him to sleep on the bed in the room. You get very good view of the city from the windows of your room which coud be another plus point.

"A Place to Stay in Kowloon"

4
26/08/2016

Though there are so many hotels in Kowloon, Best Western Grand Hotel is known for it's location and value for money. We didn't fuss over fancy rooms nor grand entrances because we were out all day exploring the streets of Hong Kong. The room was, as expected, very small, like all other hotel rooms in Hong Kong for a cheap hotel. However, despite it being small, they have a fridge, a hot & cold shower, coat hangers, hair dryer, an electric pot, a mini-bar, a telephone, complete toiletries, bedroom slippers and yes, a television. Bed and pillows were comfortable and they have free wifi too. This hotel is a 3-5 minute walk to Jordan MTR and the bus stops are also nearby. 7/11 is abundant in this area. So are coffee shops and restaurants. It is very near to Nathan road- where all the action is packed. Just a short walking distance to Temple Street Night Market (if you're in for a good night stroll). City Mappers (application) may come in handy when navigating in HK as most elderly locals hardly speak English. From the airport, it's just over an hour to get to this place via bus A21 (stop at Prudential Centre or Science Museum). I recommend this place if you're out the whole day and not for a staycation. View at our room at the 27th floor was superb!

"Great value for money "

4
14/08/2016

Price wise if you get a good deal, this place is excellent value for money. The rooms are nicely laid out and make a good use of such a small space, and the hotel is in walking distance to all the sites and metro stations so it's easy to get around. The rooms aren't massive but then not many in Hong Kong are, and the price was cheaper than some hostels for a proper hotel stay

"Good Location but Rude staff at Breakfast Buffet"

3
06/08/2016

I booked this hotel for 3 nights last July 2016. My first night I paid about US$100. This came with breakfast buffet for 2. My 2nd and 3rd night were without breakfast and I paid about $60 each night. The good about this hotel is it's a 5-10 minute walk from the MTR Jordan Station and there are restaurants near this hotel. The check-in and check out was about 5-10 mins each which was quite okay. Another good thing was they give us new toiletries daily. I know it's part of what we paid for but some hotels do not observe this. So for this I give them an extra point. Although I bet some people would complain about the linen not being changed daily. Actually you can have it changed daily but it's per request. My friend and I didn't bother to have ours changed cause it's no big deal since we're only staying in HK for 3 days. The okay part was the room. It's small. But it's HK so what can we expect? It's okay if you're mostly away during the day and just using the hotel for sleep. Now, the bad part. Don't bother with the buffet breakfast of the hotel. There are a lot more restaurants outside that serves a better buffet selection for a cheaper price with a better customer service. My first day in HK was ruined due to the middle aged man they have manning the buffet table. Take note of the term manning. They don't have a server there. He was staring rudely at me and my friends while we were getting the food. When I asked him about the utensils and juices, he was rude and he acted as though I was inconveniencing him. He ruined my first day in HK. Hello, I paid US$100/night. I did not beg or steal or was eating there under false pretenses. Seriously, this guy gave a bad image to the hotel and HK. He was rude, annoying and racist. Next time that I'll be back in the city, I won't be choosing this hotel again. There are a lot of hotels to choose from for the same or lesser price. I don't mind small rooms. What I mind is hospitality. I travel and visit different countries using my hard earned money. I don't need rudeness or stress during travel especially when I pay for it.

"Not a hotel you are coming back to"

06/08/2016

The location of this hotel is very good just a few steps away from Nathan Road and Jordan MTR station. That's about it. The rest was not so good. The room was probably the smallest I have seen so far during my travel around the world. Even if i never measured the room I bet it was less than 10m2 in total including the bathroom. There was just enough room for a queen size bed. Nothing more. The mattresses where hard like there were made of timber. Bathroom was so small that the wash basin was placed outside where you normally would find a closet. there were absolutely nowhere to put your clothes, no closet no drawers, no nothing. Wi-Fi was free of charge which was good since if i have had to pay for it I would have gone crazy. The speed was so slow that I couldn't even read the newspapers online. Just forget about chatting via Facetime or messenger with your loved ones. Well i actually managed to chat via Facetime once and that was at 1:30AM when everyone else at the hotel sleep. Breakfast was cheap, just 100HKD but not really worth it. i also tried the main restaurant for dinner. This was OK but nothing more to it. I would rather dine at one of the many restaurants that lays in the neighborhood. Next time i will be in Hong Kong i will choose another hotel.

"Good value"

27/07/2016

This hotel is good value in Honkong. Clean room with a good bed an even a bath tab. Location cannot be better, very close to Nathan Road in Central Kowloon. Nice staff. Many eateries close to the hotel. You can walk to the ferry pier. We will be back!

"Tiny room, outdated hotel, old bed"

2
26/07/2016

Location was very good, on one of the side streets on Nathan Road. However the hotel itself was outdated, the room were tiny and the bathroom didnt have much room to move around either. The bed was so hard we had to ask for three extra blanket to put on top to make it tolerable. I would definitely NOT recommend or book this hotel again!

"Adequate Hotel"

25/07/2016

Rooms very small 15m2, breakfast very basic, servicing of rooms could be better. Not really worth the money. Good location close to Nathan road, short walk to Temple St night market. About a 15min walk to the waterfront. Friendly staff and reasonably helpful. The information Center is on the second floor, they can book guided tours etc.

"Mr. & Mrs. K. Tsang"

19/07/2016

The room and bathroom are quite small. Cannot move around freely in the room. Hardly any place for the suitcases ( each of us just bought a 21" suitcase). The front reception area is small, I don't know why they can't exchange with the suitcase station at the back. No shower caps!

"What do you expect? It's not a luxury hotel."

3
15/07/2016

Location is close to the HK Polytechnic University and within walking distance to the main shopping areas of TST (Tsimshatsui). The rooms are small. Price does vary depending on occupancy, seasonal fluctuations and who you book through. Only stay a few nights if you have to. Don't eat there. Better restaurant options outside.

"don't believe in photo"

3
10/07/2016

When booking a hotel internet we depend on photo the hotel shows. It seems okay but the guest room is quite tiny but the price is not. however, the location is compensated with the room price and size. It is located among the shopping and feed place. The flyover take you to the harbour and you'd be surrounded with shopping mall and night market.

"Horrible experience"

1
08/07/2016

Upon checking in, the staff were so busy with their computers that they couldn't look up and smile. In fact, the staff all round are quite unfriendly. The bedroom size is understandable of Chinese culture, however the fact that the springs of the bed poke into your body is not understandable. The bed is extremely hard and one cannot possibly get a good night's rest here. Will never return and never recommend.

"Best Western Grand Kowloon"

29/06/2016

Stayed two nights in June 2016. Great location and walking distance to most places if you have the time for a slow walk! Restaurant is good and staff very friendly. Reception staff and concierge were extremely helpful. Recommend chatting with concierge for information and arranging tours. Room was pretty average and small. Quite okay for the price paid. I am told most hotel rooms in the area are small! All room amenities were adequate and worked well including excellent free Wi-Fi. Will stay again if looking for a budget hotel.

"Wonderful value and convenience"

4
28/06/2016

It's located in Tsimshatsui, Kowloon. Considering the price, it's extremely good value. I was there during HK's low season and the standard room rate is less than $100. The room is very tidy with wi-fi and everything expected. It even provided with a power point adaptor so my Australian plug could plug in. The only negative is the bath tub is a bit small.

"Budget hotel with great location"

3
27/06/2016

The rooms are kind of small but has the main features a hotel room should have. The bathroom is also small. The breakfast its good and it has a computer at the lobby. However, its greatly located near many international restaurants and famous brands' shops.

"Not Satisfied "

1
12/06/2016

The beds were hard. The rooms are so small. Luggages need to place under the bed. Difficult to take it out to put or take things. Toilet is so small. Sink is outside. When gave feedback at least they did placed a layer of soft sheet so that the mattress is not hard.

"Not ready for priime time..."

3
02/06/2016

First, the positive: the staff speak very good English, are very helpful and cooperative. The rooms are well air-conditioned and clean. The location, near Jordan metro, is fairly easy to access. If you're coming in from the airport, take the free shuttle from the Kowloon station to the hotel. The area includes a variety of restaurants, from McDonald's, KFC and Starbucks to independent Korean, Italian and Japanese. There is a French restaurant in the hotel. Chinese food in the area ranges from cheap street eats to high end, expensive, sit down. Independent shops and malls abound, in addition to at least 3 7-11s, a Watson's and other convenience stores. Now, the negative: thel rooms are truly ready for international travelers. One must request the adapters to make use of the ubiquitous British 3-prong wall outlet. I say "adapters" because you can only plug in one device to one outlet. I am currently using two, one for my laptop and one to charge my cellphone. I'm in my second room during my three night stay. The first room was non-smoking with a bathtub plus shower. Rather than risk the HK$1000 fine for lighting up, I requested a smoking room and was rapidly accommodated. However, neither room comes with an actual desk and chair. I'm sitting on my bed using the window alcove to compose this. The second/smoking room comes with a shower only, no bathtub. Both rooms sport dire warnings re protecting the property and the fines that will be imposed for any damages. One must also post a $500 refundable damages deposit upon checking in. Lighting in both rooms is barely adequate, emphasizing form over function. There are no lights directly over bathroom mirrors making shaving somewhat more difficult than need be. The flat panel wall mounted TVs are only about 20 inch diagonals, barely larger than my 17.1 inch laptop screen. The wi-fi of the hotel is remarkable only in its slowness. Although secure and password protected, the speed varies between 1 and 54 Mbps, averaging 18 Mbps. This is my third visit to Hong Kong in the past two years. At least one more is certain. Given a choice, I probably will not choose to stay here again given the lack of furnishings. Still, I've paid more and received less in other establishments in other countries.

"Centrally located"

4
28/05/2016

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was small but the location is good. Only 5 mins walk to nathan road and so many restos and shops nearby our hotel. But the queueing line at hotel lobby for check in is very long. They should have specialized c/i group counter if want to upgrade their service.

"MEANT FOR CHINESE GROUP TOURS"

23/05/2016

I a m glad i stayed here. this hotel gave an insight into Chinese culture. The room did not meet american standards the bed was hard. shower small but clean. service minimal. breakfast buffet was poor quality Chines foodw/ scrambled eggs and bacon.. the manager told me this hotel was considered luxurious by Chinese tourists. interesting free wifi I got what i expected -- a bed. a shower and breakfast close to the cruise dock at a reasonable price. i would not stay there again the breakfast sucked.

"It's just a bed (and not that comfortable)"

3
21/05/2016

The hotel was lean and tidy, staff were friendly and helpful - and check in smooth and quick. The entry and lobby are grand and the chandeliers in the lifts (quick) add a sense of grandeur. Yes, the rooms are small (very small) and the beds are (very) hard. You will need to pay a lot more for a hotel room with more space and amenity in this city. Any views are of old buildings. Free bottled water every day was terrific. Showers were always hot. Multi-adapter plug was handy (or had been left behind by previous occupant) The free Wifi worked well for the 3 days we were there. 35 min walk to the Star Ferry and close to lots of things to visit. However - Putting two (made) single beds together does NOT make it a double bed. Hooks on the wall don't make a wardrobe. Shower curtains are so last century. Having nowhere to put suitcases but on or under the bed is awkward. Safe wasn't functioning.

Location wasn't terrific The smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in It had two single beds which took up the whole room Power points were very inaccessible also the room smelt very musty Vanity wasn't even in the bathroom Hard beds

"nightmare stay"

1
18/05/2016

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room the size of a shoe box, bed like sleeping on a board, no space to store luggage (except under the bed as directed by note left on bed), no wardrobe and far from spotlessly clean as one would expect. Bed linen was of poor quality and looked as though it had been laundered with dirty water. Bathroom was so small it was possible to sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time. Breakfast food was of poor standard and variety. Bread was put through the toaster 3 times and was still white and just slightly dry. Food service area was so small it was almost impossible to get your food without bumping into several people. As boiled eggs were the only type of eggs on offer beside scrambled eggs floating in butter decided to see if getting fried eggs was an option with my bacon. Waiter took the order for fried eggs and eventually got them after everything else had gone cold. Would never, ever stay there again or recommend it to anyone else. I hasten to add that I have stayed in Hong Kong several times before at hotels in the same price bracket as the Best Western Grand so my expectations were not unrealistic. This hotel should be renamed to Best Western Not So Grand

"Avoid"

2
13/05/2016

Very disappointed in this hotel. When I arrived, there were only 3 people waiting to check in and 6 staff behind the counter all frantically looking at their paperwork. It was surprisingly long to get checked in - and not a smile from the staff. The rooms are VERY small. This facility is old and you cannot escape that feeling. There is no hope in making the carpets even look clean, the wallpaper is old and lost all its colour. There is very little place to move around in the room and washroom (the toilet paper dispenser was behind the toilet seat...). My so called "city view" was looking at an alleyway and the unkept rooftop of the building in front. There is wifi connection but I could not access my VPN although I was able to in the 4 other hotels I was staying at in Asia. The included breakfast is just basic - very little choice and very little taste, and the setting is old and depressing. Only positives: the beds (quite hard) were very clean and the location was convenient.. Will not stay there again.

"Horrible wifi"

1
06/05/2016

As per title - worst wifi service I have ever come across in HK. Doubt that I will ever make a return. Seeing that I had booked a room for 5 days, having unstable internet service was the least thing i expected. I had one of the hotel staff come fix the matter yet nothing could be done.

"A little jewel"

5
27/04/2016

And I literally mean a little jewel as the rooms are small but meet needs for a brief stay. I was in HK only for two days and I choose this hotel for its location which was close to Jordan Metro and near to TST. The hotel (I think) is recently built as the state / feel of hotel infrastructure was good. Being a vegetarian the best part was the breakfast spread.

"Value"

3
18/04/2016

Ok... So my review of this hotel is limited because this is the only place I have stayed during my one visit to Hong Kong. The room was very small, though also very clean. Staff were very friendly, but I only speak English and some Spanish so have no idea with the cleaning staff were saying to me while they laughed. I think it was friendly :) The on-site restaurant was not very good. The breakfast eggs had a clear liquid that pooled around them. The location was good for walking around and sight-seeing. Overall my stay was OK and felt like a decent value.

"Service, location ok but small room"

3
17/04/2016

The service is great - everyone was very attentive and helpful. As for location, walk out the back of the hotel and a short walk down the street puts you on Nathan Road close to Kowloon park and Jordan Road MRT. The price was also very reasonable for a place in the heart of Hong Kong - the drawback? The rooms are tiny and it's a real struggle for two people to find a place to put their stuff and avoid tripping over one another. One person would be OK but two? You'd better be good friends!

"Ok location, Ok staff, TINY rooms, terrible beds"

2
16/04/2016

So, the location of the hotel isn't so bad. It's near the Jordan MTR station, so that's convenient enough. It's an OK area, surrounded by many Korean shops and restaurants. However, the rooms are minuscule. We had a hard time having our luggage in there and not tripping over it. The bed was as hard as a rock, and I did not sleep more than an hour at a time each night we were there. I asked if all the beds were the same, and they said they were. They also didn't have any sort of mattress topper. If you love beds that are that firm, you'll be in heaven. However, they absolutely kill my back. The staff was somewhat friendly, but mostly indifferent to the issue. (Granted, there was nothing they could really do.) The place was clean, though, and like I said, the location was OK. I'll never stay there again, but if beds like that don't kill your back, this is a little more affordable than other hotels in Hong Kong.

"Good value"

3
16/04/2016

Inexpensive for Hong Kong, but adequate. Efficient check- in and concierge despite a clearly busy time. 2 rooms on floor 22 were pretty small, but clean with good shower and complimentary toiletries etc. Very limited storage space: the cases had to go under the be. Hotel seems to have limited public areas too. Really easy access from the A21 airport bus service, and good location for local restaurants and shops

"Tiny high floor room with a fair location."

3
12/04/2016

I stay for 3 nights in 21 floors. The room are too small especially toilet it too tiny for me. This hotel in Jordan MTR station area walk about 450 m. from D Exit. You can reach this hotel with 2 roads by Hillwood road or Austin Ave. But the other hotel can serve you a better location. I walk about 10 Mins to Tsim sha Tsui and 10 Mins to Yau ma Tei. In the morning you can't find something to eat around hotel. You have to walk out from this area to find something eat. like a Tsim Sha Tsui, Jordan are or etc. But different with the afternoon or dinner in Hillwood Rd. at the back of hotel. if the size of room doesn't matter with you this place can serve everything you want. Some staff here can't spoke English and he walk away from customer for solve this problem.

"Ideal Location"

3
11/04/2016

Yes the rooms are small but so is the price to stay here and at the end of the day if your in HK your only going to sleep here Cheap budget hotel, clean and tidy within in easy walking distance of TST central areas, plenty of bars and food places within a 2 min walk as well My only comment would be that the room smelt slightly musty, but this soon cleared by opening the window and the mattresses where quite lumpy

"Overpriced average hotel"

3
07/04/2016

This hotel was chosen on recommendation from a corporate travel agent. Once I read the tripadvisor reviews about tiny room sizes, I upgraded to the premium room. The premium room was the most expensive room choice yet I would rate it as a standard room for both size and amenities. The Good: The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room well maintained with everything working well. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The view from my room on the 28th floor was truly spectacular. The location was great, close to Nathan Road and Hong Kong PolyU. It was within 10-15 minute walking distance to the Star Ferry and the harbour. The free wifi worked very well. The bad: The hotel decor was glitzy, with shiny gold trims, brown 'flocked' wallpaper and chandeliers, but it looked to be done cheaply and looked quite tacky. The room decor was quite dark which made the rooms appear dated and even smaller than their true size. There was no real cupboard for hanging clothes, just a strange contraption on the wall where you could hang a few items flat against the wall behind sliding doors that covered only the top part. It was fine for jackets but dresses hung down below the doors. The fridge and safe were tiny. The hotel breakfast was terrible. Everything seemd to be done on the cheap and therefore the hotel had that real budget feel to it. For the price of the premium room, you could certainly stay in a better hotel.

"Great location average hotel "

I stayed here for two nights at the end of March. This is an older hotel. The pros? Great location and close to lots of restaurants, shopping and cafes as well as bus and subway routes. The service here is friendly and effecient. The cons? The rooms definitely need to be cleaned up. Stains on the carpet and cracks in the ceilings are not impressive. You can also hear noises from the neighbors as well. For short stays and location this hotel offers you fair value for your money.

"Re-honey moon in Nice Hotel"

We actually not so expect to stay in this hotel because the room price is low. But we do surprise when we arrive. This hotel looks so nice with Asia style decoration. Room is quite good for our couple. Surely we can not find any hotel like that with the price they offered us. And the location is amazing, guest easily to work to Tsim Sha Shui, Jordan or go to MTR. I stayed in Hongkong for couple years so i knew that this hotel is convenience totally. Austin Clinic is opposite which value with me so much cause i had some operation before arrive. Anyway i definitely turn back to stay this if the value is the same. Thanks all hotel staffs, bellman, receptionist, they are so helpful. The housekeeping staffs did not understand me but they work so hard and my room always clean by their effort. See you again

"Nothing but the location"

31/03/2016

I think it is probably the smallest room i ever saw in my life. Even though it is conveniently located on Austing Avenue, you really feel like you are in a box. Not to mention we were given 2 single beds instead of a big one, there was basically no room to put the luggage. If travelling alone and all the time outside yes, if you intend on spending some time in the room...well, think again.

"My 2 stay in HKG"

A bit far from Jordon or Tsim Sha Tsui station. Airport free shuttle bus doesn't get you here. The hotel staffs are very helpful. the room has no fridge at all. Recommend for 1 person stay as room is very tidy and if couple stay will be no room for another person.

"Great Location"

18/03/2016

Great value for a good location. Rooms are tiny but very clean and efficient. Staff is helpful and polite. Elevators work well and are frequent. There are wonderful views from rooms on the higher floors. Airport express bus is just a block away. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

"Terrible Accommodation"

1
15/03/2016

We have traveled all over over 40 years including 6 previous visits to Hong Long and this is by far the worst accommodation I've ever experienced. The room was so small that there wasn't room for a wardrobe in which to hang your clothes. The shower was around 60 cm deep - that's small. The area to dry yourself had a bath mat, just an ordinary size bath mat and it was folded in 3 to fit it in to the space. Try drying yourself in that. I'm not a huge man but sitting on the toilet to do your business was almost impossible because of the lack of room. When we checked in, we had already paid for the room but they still insisted on swiping our card.which wasn't removed from our bank until a period of 5 days after checking out. In fairness the hotel blamed the bank so I'm not positive who was wrong but when I pointed out that we had already paid for our accommodation and asking why they wanted to swipe our card all we were told was "oh, that's just the way we do it" - untrue they were actually putting a $500 charge on the card just in case it was needed by them. Tell the truth. As I said the worst accommodation I've ever experienced and I certainly wouldn't recommend them.

"Good and economic hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong "

12/03/2016

Nice economic hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui district of Kowloon, Hong Kong. Hotel management should keep changing breakfast menu. It's the same every day. Over all it's good. But breakfast quality and menu need to be really changed. Location wise also hotel is really good. Connectivity to both Jordan and TST MTR stations makes it a nice location to stay.

very fast check in,great staff and friendly , hotel room was great and location for me was really nice in TST walking distance from the MTR and shopping malls, breakfast they gave me complimentary so a great deal for a great price HK$ 400 in the centre of the busy but oh so nice tsim tsa tsui

"Tiny room but GRAND"

Hotel room was small but the reception staff are friendly and helpful with warm smile every time. When i departed hotel at noon time, there are complimentary store the luggage for me until 6PM. I will chose this hotel again in next visit.

"Just ok"

01/03/2016

I came here for a solo trip last September. The room was small, just like most hotels in Hong Kong. There were 2 single beds, no space for a closet. Bathroom was really cramped and I am a petite woman at 5'3" ! The lavatory was outside the bathroom. The walk to Nathan Road and the MTR is bearable, but this is not the best area.

"My very short stay at Best Western in Hong Kong"

4
21/02/2016

It is worth the money that you spend in a expensive city like Hong Kong. Though it is just a mile away from the main street and the junctions, the price is half of the hotels on the main street. The rooms are spacious, with free wifi, and the hotel has overall a good ambiance. If you are counting on the cost, this is one of the best place to stay in Hong Kong as the underground station is at a walking distance and so is the bus route.

"Good location, but too small room"

3
04/02/2016

Stayed here for 2 nights, this hotel has good location just 5 mins walk to Nathan Road and Jordan Station. There are a lot of restaurants, convenient stores and supermarkets near by. However it is located in the middle between Mongkok and Tsimshatsui shopping area. If you have plan to visit these places, you have to take taxi or subway. Room is a bit small; but clean; I can't even fully open my luggage and put it under the bed. I think only the cabin size luggage is possible to put it there. Free WiFi is available and the signal is good. Free 2 bottles of water is provided everyday.

"conveient location"

4
01/02/2016

This property is in a very convient location, 2 blocks from Nathan rd with buses to ferry and other locations also under round walking distance. Hotel is clean and modern very busy on weekends, the help generaly speak English but don't always understand what your trying to get across! This is true for all of Hong Kong it would useful if you had working knowledge of Cantonese

"Room is too small and not functional hot water!"

1
14/01/2016

Booking this hotel for business trip expo. The welcoming for checking was nothing no smiling and assisting with luggages. Room was really really small with tiny bathroom; the smallest hotel room that i ever stay. Hot water was not functional and adjustable. Medium wifi. Paid $120 USD per night plus but still no breakfast. Decent location. Overall, the hotel was not welcoming more than a night. Not reccomended!

"Great place to stay."

07/01/2016

Stayed here for 3 days in December around the holidays. Great location and very clean. Staff was very helpful. The rooms are a bit small but its Hong Kong. Lots of restaurants right in walking distance. A bit of a walk to the train station but walking is part of going to Hong Kong.

"Hidden Jewel in the Heart of Tsimshatsui"

I found this hotel out of desperation after a scheduling error in my Itinerary earlier this year. I needed to find a hotel for the night and booked the hotel online sight unseen. The area is quiet familiar do me, but the actual hotel was not. It was the cheapest hotels reservation I have ever made in Hong Kong in over thirty years of travel to the city. Upon check-in, I very nicely asked the manager for an upgrade, as low priced Hong Kong hotels can provide quite a shock. He gave me one to the large rooms they have on every floor and I was more than elated when I finally got to the room. As with all Hong Kong hotels, the rooms are normally very small and this hotel is famous for its 200 sq ft rooms, but the larger rooms located near the elevator are spacious, even by HK standards. There were 2 beds, a moderately sized bathroom and a desk and refer to boot. The location is a bit far from the Star Ferry terminal and Ocean Center, but it was a nice walk and still near the MTR and other public transpo. There are restaurants galore and a lot of things to do, even on a short stop over like mine. The staff was friendly, helpful and made my stay well worth the $50 USD that I paid for the room. Even if they had put me in a smaller room, I would have been just as happy. I took uber from HungHom Station on my arrival and a taxi to the Kowloon Station and the Airport Express Train. Neither were expensive. Overall great stay and highly recommended for short stays or singles looking to meet other like travelers in a great city. 5 (Hong Kong) Stars all the way! theWorldTrekker

"Average rooms, average staff, average to below average facilities"

20/12/2015

The rooms were okay, the bed was about the right stiffness. However, the bath is tiny ( you cannot take a bath in it, may be an infant), and the shower is a bit weak. They only give you one tiny bar of soap for the entire four day stay. The staff was not terribly friendly or helpful, except for one lady, who seems to be the only one able to speak English, it seems. Without her, I would have been helpless, and I than her for that. There were many bellboys that were just standing around and chatting, which seems to be a waste. The breakfast buffet was 66 HKD if paid on the day before, but I doubt it's worth it (not may choices). One day of the buffet was enough for me, and I either went outside, or got something at the seven-eleven nearby. Overall, I guess the price was acceptable for Hong Kong, and the location was close to the place of business for this trip. Otherwise, I think there are better places for the price.

"The smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in"

2
15/12/2015

The room was about 7ft by 7ft with a slid door into the bathroom. The bath was approx 3.5 ft in length with a shabby curtain to stop the water going on the floor. The tiles had a wood effect and were unfinished in the corners. I'm only 5ft 6 but my shoulder touched the walls on both sides while using the toilet. The width of the room was one large window wide with a large brown curtain to cover it. Condensation dripped down the windows and the mini fridge with 2 cans of soda sat on the window sill next to the tray with a kettle and coffee and tea. I had to turn the bin over to sit the kettle on to plug it in next to the only socket I could find. This hotel made the best hostel feel like a five star, add to this the bed was like a concrete slab and overall the stay was very uncomfortable. All for the princely sum of £125 per night including service charge, to this day I'm not sure what the service charge could be for, it was 10%!, I would not recommend this hotel

"The smallest room that i ever had been ..."

06/12/2015

The people in hotel is very nice. However the room has not closet i almost cant get in in the bathroom. The breakfast place too small also. Maybe for one night is ok. But if you are planning more time is better to consider spend more money to be more confortable.

"Convenient short stay hotel for busy people"

02/12/2015

We chose the Best Western Grand (2 nights) in Tsim Sha Tsui because it was close to the China visa agency (fbt) and the cheapest online hotel in this area. The hotel is clean, and yes, the standard rooms are somewhat squashy but no smaller than some 4 star hotels in Singapore like the V Hotel Lavendar (although the latter did have a small wardrobe to hang your clothes!). And the wifi was a bit slow, but that's pretty normal in this part of the world. The hotel breakfast was not included in our room price but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby serving nice breakfasts and dinners. Hotel staff were helpful and the concierge (2nd floor) was able to organised transport with English speaking driver at reasonable cost to take us to various places where I spent my childhood. Given the hotel's location in Hong Kong, we found it very suitable for our purposes and budget, and will probably stay here again next time we go to China.

"VERY disappointes"

01/12/2015

first we were put in a smoking room with two single beds, was changed to another room, but SO SMALL, difficult with baggage, sink in bedroom, small shower and toilet room, very dark and dated, very expensive room for size and quality.Breakfast very limited, and unappitising looking.

"Best location but internet is slow and blocked voice call!!"

3
01/12/2015

- best location : 5 min approach to the center of tsimsatsui. Lots of good raustrant were near. - internet slow and blocked the voice call ( viber, what's web) by hotel. - hotel staff was kind generally - breakfast was normal.

"this is not a 4 star hotel 3 star at most"

3
30/11/2015

This hotel is advertised as a 4 star hotel. This is simply fraud the rooms are tiny poorly furnished poor selection of tv channels.Breakfast very poor 2 star hotel standard in both selection and quality.I feel much better options exist in Hong Kong.Hotel is clean and simple and should not advertise itself as being 4 star

"Terrible Beds & Limited Food Options"

2
21/11/2015

Lets start with check in. They put my partner and I in a room with two single beds and then advised us that they could not put us in the room we were booked in for. After an issue with our room keys and gaining access we FINALLY got in to our room..... oh sorry I mean our closet. If you are ok with a tiny tiny room. This place is for you. After 9 hours of flying... to lay on the bed and feel what felt like to be concrete we were not amused. Moving forward to checking out. We asked the conceige to contact our transfer company to confirm that they would still be on time... to which they advised us that he couldn't do it. As an Australian... I found the breakfast options to be limited and unappealing. My partner tried all the foreign food that was to offer however maybe they should offer something universal for everyone to enjoy! Stale cereal does not count.

"Small rooms good service "

16/11/2015

Stayed at best western , though was shocked to see the size of room initially but then got used to it. But the staff was very friendly nice and courteous and helping in which ever we wanted .nothing can beat the proximity to all the markets from here . Only breakfast was let down all five days same menu. By fifth day I could only have a slice of bread and coffee . Any ways good experience if u r not staying whole day or relaxing in hotel

"Get lost"

1
08/11/2015

Cancell the reservation after charging me and then got me a small room three times expensive taking advantage of the airlines mistake. Air conditioning did not worked to save money. Room was 25• celsius inside. Zero space, no breakfast when my reservation had. Finnaly i paid 580 usd for something that I had reserved at 179 and by no meaning could cost more than 60bucks.

"If you can sleep in a shoebox, this is the hotel for you"

2
01/11/2015

Great location and pretty good price but holy cow are these rooms tiny. If you want breakfast order the day before or the price almost doubles. Room was clean but the bathroom was smaller than most airliners. It is likely would not stay again.

"Very good disabled access room"

4
28/10/2015

The regular rooms here are very small. The disabled bathroom rooms are bigger, with good wheelchair access. The beds are fairly hard, in the Chinese style, which is good for myu back. To shower I used my traveling shower chair beside the bath tub and the water went down the floor plug hole, using the shower head on the hose. The price was very reasonable, the staff were very helpful throughout our stay, the location is great. If the price is right, we will be back. For those looking for a bit more room, ask for a bigger room.

"Smallest room i have ever seen. "

2
26/10/2015

The room is unbelievably small. I have been to hotels in Tokyo and NY where the rooms are small, but the ones in Best Western Hong Kong is just wayyy too small for me. The toilet is also small too. The bed is also hard and uncomfortable. One of the worst experience I have had. I ended up moving to another hotel (same price) but much bigger and more comfortable bed.

"One of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in "

1
25/10/2015

If you want to stay in a shoe box I suggest you book if you want a proper hotel with a sink that actually that actually is plumbed in the bathroom don't book I have seen bigger student accommodation don't be fooled by the pics and there descriptive names it's really small I can't even open my case

"Budget hotel with unpleasant hotel staffs "

1
16/10/2015

Do not be fooled by the pictures posted online, that's what I have thought it looked not too bad. I'm terribly wrong. I travel almost every month and stay in different hotels good and bad. This hotel brings "bad" to a whole new level. Hotel lobby looks miserable for a start. Check in staff, checking you in sitting down on their comfortable chair. Elevator looks like a giant bathroom decoration Walkway to the room looks like the new "American Horror Stories - Hotel" series set. Upon entering the room, you couldn't help but feel despair. Room is soooooo tiny!! No place to even open your luggage. Room is so dull and dark, it looks haunted. I stayed in the non smoking room and the stale smoke smell lingers like an unwanted stain. So do yourself a favour and do not stay here. There's a lot more better hotels around.

"One day layover in Hong Kong"

05/10/2015

Got upgraded to the corner room, very clean, had all the basic amenities with a good sized bathroom. Had a nice view overlooking the Kowloon cricket club. Conveniently located near Jordan MTR and have decent restaurants within walking distance.

"Very pleasent stay & every special request was responded"

5
04/10/2015

I was made a hotel accommodation reservation via agoda on SEP 29th - OCT 1st, 2015 with special requests an early check-in, double bed, non smoking room with high floor. While I checked-in on 10.20 A.M. I got a small room on 27 floor with a nice view, room was clean, comfort bed, good amenties, housekeeping service was awesome & friendly staff. The hotel have two entrance, Lobby floor on Austin road (near MRT Jordan) and 3rd floor on Nathan road (Baggage service, walking distant to Tsim Sha Tsui and MRT). I was very recommended.

"Overall hotel design rather disappointing"

2
29/09/2015

Give credit to the location but the lobby was rather less appealing. The room corridor and rooms does need a serious refurbishment with modern design. The combination of wallpaper, tiles and curtains are so horrible. With that price there are many other options down the road.

"Great Location Only."

3
28/09/2015

The staff was not very nice, I asked for an early check-in after a 15h flight and they refused, having rooms available, I said i was going to paid, but still nothing. after 7 hours i got my room on the 20th floor and i could barely move around it was extremely small. It is an OVERPRICED hotel, Only good was the view from the window. Also is Very close to metro station.

"Small room with tiny bathroom, large window and relatively central location"

3
24/09/2015

My room is tiny, fortunately the window is large and from the 28th floor provides a decent view. Big persons will have to leave the bathroom curtain open. Top floors hallways offers pica boo view of harbor. Hotel has two exits. Lobby is on first floor. Second floor exits into a cul de sac with plenty of Japanese restaurants. Walk 5 minutes and you arrive at Nathan Road where you can take the bus down to the shoreline. With an octopus card it is efficient. Hotel is on the list of Hong Kong shuttle airport drop off/pick up points, convenient if you don't want to tow your luggages behind through airport express etc...
