"Great views, tired old box room"
Holger B, 08 Avril 2024

The hotel is nestled next to a 6 lane highway, with its entrance not easy to find. Best Western branding is nowhere to be seen, nor does it translate into brand expectations. While prices are average for a Hong Kong 4 *, the room quality is low. The carpet has not been changed in a decade or more, with large stains on it and a smell emanating from it. Service was good though; I had forgotten my converter and was provided one within 20 minutes.

"bed bugs, bad customer service, cleanliness issues"
Masha S, 05 Avril 2024

The worst experience in regards to the customer service and the room. I checked into this hotel on the 31st of March, with 2 bookings. Upon checking into the room, there was some hair in the toilet bowl. It was not so great but I shrugged it off because small things can happen. However, that night I could not sleep due to itching of my arms and body, and I woke up with some red spots on the skin, and redness all over my body from bed bugs! On the 1st of April I approached the front desk staff in the late afternoon around 6pm to request of them as below: 1. First I requested that they change the sheets because I had a rash on my body and spots on my arm from the bed. They declined, saying that the Housekeeping staff already went home. 2. I then asked if I could change rooms, they again declined, saying that they had full occupancy and that I could only change rooms the next day, that I would have to first check out before 11am, leave my luggage in the lobby, and wait until 2pm the next day for 'check in time'.. I declined because I did not want to sleep in the same bed where I got the rash from (photos are from the 1st of April, the next day after I slept in their bed). 3. I told them that I had to check out, and they then suddenly offered me another room, to which I declined after their previous rejections showing awful customer service. Later I booked another hotel, and asked the staff if they could refund me the nights that I would not stay in, to which they rejected, and mentioned that they would fully charge me anyway for the nights I didn't stay in. They advised me to contact my online travel agent for further requests. After contacting the OTA the next days, I got the reply through them that the hotel declined my refund request, saying that they offered me an upgrade, and kept the room for me. This is untrue, since they did not offer me an upgrade, and I returned the key to them, packed my bags by the evening and left (they can even check their security camera footage). To me I am also in the hospitality industry, and this way of handling the issue is highly inexcusable and unacceptable, and I do not recommend this hotel at all for any reason. I rarely write negative reviews but unfortunately the way they are handling the situation, ignoring the customer's health, showing lack of consideration or care, let alone even respect for refunding the nights I did not use not because I wanted to stay somewhere else, but they could not meet any basic health and cleanliness standards, let alone decent customer service (not even to mention that they put themselves as a 4 star hotel). Previous reviews have also reported on cleanliness including bed bugs... Best to stay away from this hotel.

"Bed bugs in the pillow"
thisreallyhappened20, 03 Février 2024

Stay away from room 3603. There were bedbugs crawling out of the very pillow I was using! All the things I brought to the hotel had to be cleaned, washed or hung out in the sun just to make sure I didn't bring any of these pests into my home. And the manager on duty on the morning of 06 January 2024 did basically nothing even after seeing the bedbugs I squashed. Thanks for nothing Best Western Causeway Bay! BTW I have stayed a total of 4 nights at this property in the past 30 days so I'm not a newbie to what one should expect from a branch of the Best Western chain of hotels.

"Best price for a hotel located in the area"
rtv2809, 28 Novembre 2023

In terms of price, this was the most competitive compared to the other hotels that we checked in the area. Like most hotels in HK, our room was very small so a maximum of 2 persons would be recommended to stay in the room. We stayed in a room located in one of the higher floors so the view is awesome, especially at night. Wi-fi was very fast as well, which was definitely appreciated. Surprisingly, the number of outlets in our room was abundant, though it would have helped if there were outlets on both sides of the bed. The staff was also helpful as they acted fast in regards to our room requests and even assisted with a concern that was not related to our booking. Unfortunately, they didn't have a queen size bed during our stay so they enjoined two twin beds together. While the bed was comfortable, we wished that they could provide us with at least two more pillows. Location-wise, we needed to walk a while before we could reach the nearest mall and train station but at least there were multiple food stores and convenience stores nearby. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay but we're open to looking alternative hotel options when we visit HK next time.

"Good location, tiny rooms, issues with service"
Arjuna93, 27 Novembre 2023

On a positive side, location is rather convenient if one wishes to stay in that area. Walkable to Time Square, major bank offices and airport bus stop. Rooms are super-tiny even by Hong Kong standards, but clean. Service has issues however. I had house keeping breaking into my room, ignoring DND sign and ruining my sleep. It was quite frustrating.

"a place to sleep and shower"
dmv19k, 14 Novembre 2023

The room is small like most HK hotels. My friend and I moved our twin beds to make abit more walking space. We put our suitcases on the window ledge, but she had to open up her other suitcase on her bed. The room is dimly lit, but it is the same throughout the hotel with the lighting in the hotel with gold decor. Our first impression was that the hotel felt shady like a love hotel(but is not), but it kinda grows on you. The bathroom is small, the shower section is narrow so we had to stand sideways. The shower pressure was really good and strong though. The sink was outside the bedroom with a mirror. It would be good to have a full length mirror in the room, at least it would help make the room seem bigger. But still hard to see when the room is dimly lit and the bathroom mirror is tinted. They only gave 2 hangers. We requested an extra pillow each as their pillow is thin and soft and does not provide neck support. Mattress is firm. We asked for an iron and they sent it to the room right away. It is about a ten min walk away to causeway bay MTR station. However, I found buses more convenient to cross over to Kowloon, especially since the bus stop was just a minute from the hotel entrance and i would reach kowloon in 15-20 mins.( it is direct without having to transfer trains). Stayed on the 33rd floor and had a nice view. It is quiet but can sometimes hear other guests talking loudly while waiting for the elevator as its just outside our door. Verdict- its a decent stay with clean rooms but small. I felt had more space to move around when my friend left a day earlier. Service staff is excellent, friendly and quick to respond. Come with no expectations. A decent hotel if it's just a place to sleep and shower.

"Disappointing Hotel "
Jillnalder, 25 Septembre 2023

The Best Western in Causeway Bay is a difficult hotel to be comfortable in. Aircon ..which is necessary...is extremely loud and there is very little room and absolutely no storage. It is not expensive so, if you just want somewhere to just sleep, it is OK as the shower is good and it is clean. The staff were helpful but I wouldn't chose it again.

"Best Western, best on a budget?"
chp021108, 26 Août 2023

Was at Best Western before switch to another Hotel during the stay in HK in July 2023. Located in the heart of Hong Kong between Wan Chai and the CBD, a short walk from the Causeway Bay MTR station, guaranteeing easy access to the rest of the city, whether you're in Hong Kong on business or as a tourist. Rooms come with cable LCD TVs, in-room safes, mini-fridges, IDD phones and complimentary broadband Internet access. A non-smoking floor is also available. Limousine and airport shuttle services are available upon request. Safety deposit facilities can be found at the 24-hour front desk. There is a wine lounge, where one can enjoy a selection of wine and other beverages. Since it is half a km to the nearest Metro station, it is very close to everything I need, in a walking distance. The staff were friendly however the air cond. in the room wasn't cool enough. But overall a pleasant stay with an amazing view if one stays on a higher floor.

"Clean hotel, Value for Money"
LexyAtLarge, 06 Juillet 2023

I chose this hotel mainly for its price. I flew to HK on a spontaneous trip to mend a broken heart, having gone from a bad break up three days prior. I found this hotel. (1) I love the location, it is walking distance to Causeway Bay MRT at Times Square. Very easy to find because it is a high-rise building. There are 7-11 convenience stores nearby, an Anytime Fitness Gym in Wanchai which is a few blocks away, too; (2) I checked-in at close to midnight and it was such a breeze, no deposit was asked; check out was super fast too; (3) The room isn't big but large and comfortable enough for me as a solo traveler; (4) they clean the room every single day, and I stayed for the entire week! (5) the room was quiet, I did not hear any noise from the corridors, and the reception area would mostly be quiet; (6) I didn't get to see a lot of stuff, just the receptionist. But I like it that way for the privacy that it offers. It was a comfortable stay, and the rates were super affordable and reasonable. I will stay here again should I return to Hong Kong.

"A terrible stay, a terrible place"
Giorgio_VV, 10 Mai 2023

Never again. Room is dirty, the hotel is in a run-down building in a doggy dirty area with two entrances: one from a garage and the other from a side road with garbage all around. The room is so small it is impossible to open the luggage if not putting it on the bed. Got a non smoking room, but there is stench of smoking all around. On top it is expensive! It is certainly not representative of the brand Best Western.

"Typical average Hong Kong Hotel"
wleung2023, 15 Mars 2023

Convenient location. Rooms are small as most Hong Kong hotels are. Fair cleanliness. Hotel staff are polite, but not very familiar with hotel policy and having hard time providing correct answer for simple questions. Polite but not very helpful.

"DO NOT STAY HERE FOR QUANRENTINE"
oriental_express2014, 15 Septembre 2022

This is squalid, tiny shack is not habitable for human beings for staying in for a quarantine. I would feel sorry for an animal that had to go through this treatment. The room is tiny and poorly furnished. If you are over 6 feet as I am the beds are too small and rock hard. There is no desk or chair so you are forced to spend all your time either stood up and on the aforementioned horribly uncomfortable bed. The bathroom is the smallest I've ever been in. They do have a fridge that didn't work. You are told to use an in room phone to call down if you're in need of anything, my phone in my room was also broken of course. Over and above all that the rooms are extremely dirty, I got bed bugs from sleeping only 3 nights there and requesting to change my sheets each day. I asked to be upgraded, happy to pay to do so etc but I was told all the rooms in the hotel are the same miniscule size. The service left a lot to be desired. When I could get a hold of the folks at reception, which was rarely, they would act on tasks around an hour or so after I asked. It led me to believe they have extremely limited staff working there full time. They do allow you to order external food so you don't have to eat the prison gruel on offer day to day by the hotel staff but given it took on average over an hour to get delivered to you, don't expect any hot meals. In conclusion, if you are on a budget and forced to stay here I can understand otherwise avoid at all costs. I am surprised there hasn't been some major episode in this place given the condition it is in and the way it is run. As stated in my title - stay away from here.

"Limited wifi during quarantine time is not good"
AstorA1, 02 Août 2022

I picked this hotel for the 7-day quarantine because it's near my home. Location wise, there's good & bad, few steps away Times Square and it's right in the wet market area. First and most negative part here is the wifi, very bad connection. When I checked with the reception, it says it's like that because too many are using it at same time and above all the wifi is only good for simple message not to certain websites! I was stunned! I am confined here for quarantine purpose and will need to work remotely so how am I going to do it! They offered to help me to buy a data card : < so no choice I have to buy one! Secondly, the food provided is so bad! Lucky that the quarantine period is now shortened to 7 days, if I need to be here for 14 days, extremely nightmares! Ended up my family do send me some food when they are available so my this 7-day quarantine time won't be too worse and the hotel staff did pass the home food to me relatively quickly! Some pictures of the hotel food attached... if you can notice same veggies for few days and I remember sometime the meat tastes sour... very badly cooked! Lastly, I cannot understand why a hotel room for quarantine purpose means certain supplies are not possible. In the room, only plastic mugs are provided and I wish to have it in glass (as I am sure it is more hygiene and easier to clean well then to plastic). According to the Housekeep: due to the reason of quarantine, glass would not be provided. Oh, new to know that! I have also requested for medium-sized towel to Housekeeping and the same answer. It's difficult for me to understand the reason. Anyway, these 7 days are coming to the end. Good luck to all who will be staying in this hotel.

"Hotel Quarantine Hell"
SK701, 25 Avril 2022

Dingy, dark, dreary and dismal conditions await the already battered traveler at this hotel. It more felt like a prison. Staff could give a flying “F” about accommodating even the most basic need. Food was absolutely garbage. If you were fortunate enough to order delivery, they would sit on the food for hours and ensure it was ice cold before they would bring it to you. I had a pizza one time that was delivered sideways hanging on my door. Do not book here. They treat people like cattle and it is filthy above all. Rooms are dank, mouldy and tiny even for HK.

"A very poor experience"
177boulders, 15 Janvier 2022

The room is completely unsuitable for a 21 day quarantine period. It is very small and the double bed literally fills the room. There is no desk or comfy chair so one is obliged to stay on or in the bed all day. There is no wardrobe or drawers to unpack. The food is truly awful, meaning that the only advantage of staying is that one loses weight. The TV is limited almost exclusively to Chinese channels and the WiFi is 'irregular' at best. The only thing that is decent is the shower. Quite frankly, Pennys Bay was prefereable! Can't wait to get out. Carrie Lam really should be obliged to stay here for a few nights so that she realises what her policy means in practice.

"Life's not worth living without the internet"
Brian K, 11 Décembre 2021

If life's not worth living when you can't go on the Internet, then it definitely isn't worth living in this hotel. This hotel has a 48 Mbps internet speed. Who knows how many users share the wifi? All I know is the actual internet speed I get is frequently measured in Kbps instead and the max I got was 5 Mbps. I will call the suicide hotline now.

"Wifi connection is enough to stay away from this hotel."
Funchopatt, 06 Décembre 2021

Stayed for 21 days quarantine. Room size, food, all are bearable, however they have the worst internet connection i have ever experienced in all over hong kong. It is such a shame in these days and age, not to mention a quarantine hotel where people are away from loved ones. Internet is supposed to be a basic need in such hotel, but clearly they do not agree. Do not book, it can be very very frustrating

"don't book this hotel,"
264sudhirk, 22 Novembre 2021

Bad worst horrible this is not a hotel it is not even a lodge standard, don't book it unless u have to. Speechless, sick place. This is a quarantine hotel. Food is horrible as hell. My dog will not even eat food that they have us. I was happy hungry than to eat that food. Shocked

"Is Smoking allowed in the Quarantine Hotels?"
kentc767, 15 Novembre 2021

If you are a non-smoker and you don't want to be second hand smoker, do not choose Best Western Causeway Bay Hotel. I am in the Hotel for my 14-day hotel quarantine. I picked the Hotel because it is a non-smoking hotel. But the reality is that the Hotel allow their quests to smoke. I consistently smell the smoke in my stays and I complained to the front desk. The response is surprising and disappointed, they said the Hotel has already advised the quests to open the window if they smoke, even though I found on the following on the "Designated As Quarantine Facilities to The Department of Health Information Sheet" provided by the Hotel: QUOTE: #18. Smoking is prohibited at all areas in this Hotel including quest floor corridor and public areas. Any individual found smoking in the hotel will be liable to a fixed penalty of HK$2000. UNQUOTE Imagine you are in a confined area/hotel room and you cannot go outside to avoid second hand smoke which may be a medium of transmitting covid-19 ?! Maybe I need to report this to the Department of Health.

"Do not choose for 21 Quarantine Hotel Package"
simoncI5554QG, 25 Octobre 2021

Truly awful hotel - at this price point (~10K HKD for 21 quarantine hotel), there are far, far better alternatives. I'll quickly discuss the pros and the cons: Pros: -Plenty of amenities were provided upfront (3-4 towels, napkins, toilet paper, water bottles, toothbrush, shampoo / soap) as well as other quality of life appliances (small fridge, tea kettle) -Food is okay -Location of CWB means many convenience stores and restaurants available for ordering out -...That's it Cons: -For business travelers / students: As other users have commented, the Wifi is un-usable. Wifi speeds vary sporadically and every ~2-3 minutes will freeze entirely. Completely untenable for extended zoom calls, videos, or online work. Don't bother calling hotel staff as they will feed you a line about "resetting the wifi" -Additionally for business travelers / students: The desk provided is a small, "snap-out" desk attached to the wall. The space is enough for one computer and a notebook next to it - very minimal. The chair provided is a basic, uncomfortable stool that is difficult to sit in for extended periods of time -Rude hotel staff: Calling the front desk is an ordeal - basic requests like delivery of ordered food can take upwards of 30 minutes - 1 hour after delivery is completed. Staff are overall short, rude, and lacking in professionalism. -The room is overall unclean. The air is dusty, the floors, walls, and carpets are stained or peeling. -Lighting is awful. The main room is illuminated by a dim hanging chandelier which provides minimal light, especially in the evening. Light is okay during the day if you keep the curtains wide open but your eyes WILL hurt straining to see after a few days. In conclusion, avoid this hotel for your quarantine stay. The price point is far too high for a hotel of this quality. The management is clearly coasting on a quarantine package and scamming you out of your money.

"Quarantine Hotel - 21 days"
charitod198, 09 Octobre 2021

I heard so many bad comments about this hotel prior to staying here but I have no choice as the company chose this for me. What to expect: Arrival : Do not expect the person on the driveway will give you a personalized service, eye contact, slow speech. This agent will do the check-in in a robotic manner and treat you like a number. Regardless of my state -- 30 hours flight plus 24hrs offload in Dubai - expect no compassion and no empathy. INTERNET: This hotel needs to upgrade - increase its wifi portal to help these quarantine guests connect with their families during isolation. Expect connectivity sucks, Bring more books instead. FOOD: No choice of the menu I understand, however, my dish lunch and dinner -- they are same way of cooking the only change is the MEAT,,,, chicken, minced beef, beef or pork and the veg same everyday steamed cabbage and carrots. I have not been eating their meals --- BRING oatmeal, cereal and fruits. ROOM: Tiny room, some rooms do not have window view -- where sun sheds its light, I am just lucky my room has a bit of view of Time Square. Only kettle and Mini bar fridge, NO microwave - Only TWO hangers provided They will provide the SOAP/SHAMPOO but they smell like toilet cleaner and too strong that makes your skin too dry. Toiletries provided - need to call HSkP for replenishment HOTEL WHATSAPP: They ask you to connect via WhatsApp, just to alert you they do not respond so quickly, be patient and they tell you to call HSKP instead to ask for linen replacement. (imagine WhatsApp was down for 6 hours the past few days) TV Channels Very limited -- bring your ipad, , lap top, download movies in case you need entertainement Workout things: Bring Yoga Mat and TRX -- space is good enough to do some movement in the room -- you just need to adjust accordingly. Hope this may help

"Terrible dirty hotel"
Enigma7255, 17 Septembre 2021

This hotel should not be allowed on the market. The rooms are tin and filthy , and the bathroom is the smallest I have ever seen, with no hot water. The beds hard uncomfortable and too short, The wifi is virtually unusable and the staff are just unfriendly. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

"Poor WiFi Connection killing you for your quarantine stay"
T3670NGrosac, 31 Août 2021

Stay here for 21-day quarantine. Overall the hotel is old and smelly, needs a thorough renovation. Glad that I can open a window of my room with a nice view outside. Worst of most is the poor and unstable WiFi connection which I have to rely on for killing time with YouTube and Netflix. Didn't expect such a poor WiFi connection nowadays. Customer service is good. No complaints on the food too. But please at lease improve the WiFi for guests who need to stuck here for 21 days, 24 hours a day! To conclude: book another hotel for your quarantine.

"Self quarantine"
manafr2018, 13 Février 2021

Please avoid this hotel for your quarantine. Their double room so tiny and service level extremely poor. Nobody takes any responsibility and everyone comes out with loads of excuses when you complain something. When food is ordered from outside it takes more than 60 minutes to deliver to the room from the time of handling over. They don't have enough people to work. Not sure how the HK government is allowing hotels with such poor services and service mind allow them as one of the government designed hotels. The hotel management misuses this opportunity to its best.

"Shameful business avoid to stay there"
Haiyang Z, 03 Janvier 2021

Avoid at all cost. Room is tiny and dirty. BEST western has a very good reputation and services in Australia, dont know how this business also got in to use best western name. There is no view, no service, no proper cleaning. shocking business im Hong Kong.

"Terrible Place - Avoid At All Costs"
dorksideofthemoon, 24 Novembre 2020

Stay away from this hotel, especially if you are looking for a self-isolation accommodation in Hong Kong. Reception staff are oblivious and indifferent at best. Room is dingy and dim with very outdated furnitures and uninspired decoration (e.g. dark damask wallpaper, mid-century table lamp, red TV, etc.). Small desk with little working space, should definitely not be your pick if you are hoping to be productive and get some work done during your stay. The internet speed is equally disappointing, in fact terrible, when the hotel claims that it comes in high speed. If you are to hoping to watch films or make a lot of video calls (which are likely during a long stay), your best bet is to get a local data prepaid SIM card for more stable internet connection. Open the curtains you will be well within sight of people living in the building opposite, with no view whatsoever. Mini fridge is so tiny that has enough room for one single carton of milk, literally. Overall atmosphere simply makes an already miserable quarantine stay even more daunting and depressing. Bathroom is filled with smell of cigarette smoke even in a non-smoking room. General cleanliness has not been very well-maintained. One of the few examples is the house spider on the ceiling, which was discovered on first day of stay. Carpet is also very dusty. Such standard of housekeeping and hygiene is quite worrying. You do get what you pay for, but this place falls short of the basic standard of a proper hotel. With such conditions, and bear in mind you will be spend 14 days in this tiny room, I would really suggest you to reconsider if it is worth the price. I'm sure there are plenty of alternatives in similar price range. Would honestly expect so much better from a “four-star hotel”. An absolutely dreadful and disappointing experience. Note to hotel manager: hope that you take feedback from guests more seriously. Personally I don't think there's been much improvement considering you have been making the same promises to "exceed guests' expectations" since last year.

"Brass magnet of a Sky Villa"
MalvinasMan, 26 Octobre 2020

Been a tough old year for me. The tart I met in Manila, before this hoax virus was forced upon us, has pilfered my pension pot. Whilst sorting out her papers to come and join me in Blighty, the hoax virus hit. Given the uncertainty of the situation, she had asked me to wire several thousand of pounds to her for upkeep via Western Union. It appears she's ran off with one of the midget boxers and left me potless. In a desperate attempt to find her and my cash, I flew to HK mid-pandemic to get closer to Manila. As per HK Government restrictions, I had to self isolate and upon a review, the dirt cheap Best Western seemed a good option. To my delight I was upgraded to one of the hotel's exclusive ‘Sky Villas' and had a tremendous two weeks in isolation. In truth, self isolation is second nature to a man like me. Special Forces trained (although never actually in the SAS/SBS), I would frequently organise solo survival weekends in some of the wildest nature the UK has to offer, including the Chilterns and Mendips. Water off a ducks back. I also spent 4 years in HMP Wakefield. The room itself is fairly small, with cramped double bed and basic shower facilities. The hotel itself looked extremely old fashion in decor but it was a ghost town by all accounts. What sets the room apart is the access to private jacuzzi and patio area. Absolute opulence which is something I thrived in. The weather was sweltering and on average I would spend 10-12 hours per day within the jacuzzi. Food and lagers would be ordered and left outside the room by the helpful staff. Please note the in room mini fridge can hold two small cans at most and barely keeps them cold. I also asked for shampoo, bath bombs, dettol and jonnies to be sent us over the fortnight. Naturally boredom set in and by day 4 I was adamant I wanted to get a brass up with me for the day. I knew I was Rona free. I got on the old dating apps and found a lovely brass who worked in the Wan Chai district. We concocted a plan for her to dress as a deliveroo driver and come up to my room. Worked an absolute charm and she stayed with me undetected for 8 nights. It's was blessed relief although we did have blazing rows which caused suspicion from staff. Given the staffs inability to enter the Sky Villa and breach restrictions, I simply blamed the noise on a movie I was watching. When they asked who owned the woman's clothing drying on the patio area, I simply said I was a cross dresser. Make sure you book this very interesting and unique room. Check the photo I have attached to get an idea of how amazing the view is. Even for one night, this is a must go.

"Stay away,stay very far away"
chrishk2014, 22 Septembre 2020

I checked in an hour ago for a 2 week quarantine stay. The room is smelly, very small, literally only the bed,no chairs or desk. No microwave,I asked them why at reception the very angry man just shouted,'You order food outside!' There is a fridge that can fit about 4 cans of coke inside....and it doesn't work! The bathroom is tiny and dirty,no counter to put your things on,no sink in the bathroom!no wardrobe to hang clothes. The cable TV doesn't work. This is the worst effing hotel I have ever been in. The man at reception was angry and shouty. What a neffing ****hole of a dump!

"Very Pleasant Stay"
42graemeb, 15 Juillet 2020

Sympathise with hotel staff in what are extraordinary conditions in Hong Kong and globallly. Two of my sons, and I, just spent a week in the BW in Causeway Bay. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were clean and the location is ideal for anyone wanting to be in the thick of the action - the rooms and bathrooms are small but for a place just to rest your head while working or playing in HK it's fine..

"Cleaaning"
Blickxee123, 05 Juillet 2020

PLEASE CHECK THE PICTURES!!!! I have to say this is the most disgusting thing the I have never seen in my life. There has MOLD inside both toothpaste that their had provide for users. Which means that they had very poor quality of cleaning. And really feel sick about the cleanibg of the hotel, I highly not recommend to for every one to live here, you might seen more disgusting things in your life.

"Excellent view"
ilovetravel202020, 09 Janvier 2020

I love the view at 39/F so much, it was fabulous. The price is reasonable and the location is excellent. Times square and Causeway Bay train station is just nearby. I must come again to stay here for my next visit.

"Very bad don't go to this hotel"
nsghir, 17 Décembre 2019

When we came to this hotel from the 9 until 19 December in the rooms 2501 and 910 We made the reservation for Big size bed and smoking room they give us twin beds and they say no room available then they change us the room next day but non smoking room and we put do not disturb and they call us for making the room when we extend our stay they give us handicapped room and we are 2 person and they give towels just for one person and when we ask for making room they don't and the most bad thing is when we ask for more shampoo the woman of house keeping give us just one when we ask for more she started screaming in our face it's soo strange

"Great views of the city"
Westley L, 17 Novembre 2019

Needed a cheap place for one night in Hong Kong. The room was a decent size with basic amenities. However, the room was definitely outdated and needs a refresh. The room I was given was on the top floor with a great view. It was good for a night's stay.

"Don't book !!!!!!"
timemykung, 12 Septembre 2019

I stayed on Sky Villa, they try to promote this room a lot even in the lift. Room size is similar to standard room, only there is a balcony with private jacuzzi covered with glass door. Nice view at night. Minor is a pool is just next to the room and can hear people talking. It's on very high floor on 39th floor, we must change the lift from 1st floor to 3rd floor then 3rd floor to 39th floor. Sometimes the lift was under maintenance and there is no sign. Tv remote cannot use, TV screen is really blur. Jacuzzi function is hardly to use only button and no explanation on its. Refrigerator is super tiny which only can put two cans of coffee. Bath towels are provided only 2 pieces which everyone must use the jacuzzi outdoor and need to call for extra. There are few selection on breakfast line. Totally ruined the trip by same reception Mandy Lui. She never smile at all. There are many hotels else where have much better service. I will not book this hotel again very disappointed!!!!!

"Best Western"
Dale10, 11 Septembre 2019

Stayed here 3 nights on a short trip to Hong Kong. The approach roads isnt the best. However the property is quite nice and we found it be very convenient. Their rooms are small and compact. The counter staff were helpful.

"I will never stay here again !"
mallempk, 06 Août 2019

This hotel is difficult to reach as it is located in a narrow street, and taxis do not want to go there. Even the hotel shuttle from the airport drops you off about 50 metres from the hotel and you will have to manage with your multiple bags without any help from the hotel staff. There is a fish market just outside the hotel, as a result of which the approach is smelly. The rooms are small, with hardly any space to move around. The front office staff is very rude, and they refuse to call you a cab when you depart. You will have to go to the main road and try to flag a passing taxi , which is extremely difficult. It took me 35 minutes to get one, and that too in the evening ! God help those guests who need a taxi for an early morning flight !

"Not enjoyed"
Sushildreamteam, 07 Juillet 2019

Not a satisfied hotel. swimming pool is like a big tub and not very well maintained. Bathroom is very small and reception is also not very good. I will not prefer to come here again. Let me see to food tomorrow.

"Disapointed experience"
Haiyang Z, 22 Juin 2019

well, this is not the expensive option, i agree. this is still called a "hotel", so i am expecting at least a professional service. When i arrived at midnight, no one can gelp with luggages, and i have two suitcases and two bags! When i asked for help, i was told simply there is no concierge service after certain hour. Noone offered help, even though i was on my own, trying to drag my suitcase to room one after another. I cant believe this is happening in Hong kong, where it is famous for its welcoming community and good hospitality. Well, why dont you put this announcement on your website, do we know this is coming when we tryied to choose hotel options. This is not the end of the drama yet. My company sent me (to the hotel address) two packages with key documents, and both got rejected by hotel. On document of post office, is shows the hotel claimed that i checked out on that morming (while i am obviously still in hotel, and called front office mamy times on the same day checking if my packages arrived). Ohmygod! I have never seen such a so called "hotel". worse than a backpacker. Have to say there is one lady at front desk, and she is helpful. Will never stay here again, such a disappointed.experience.

"More negative experience than positive experience"
kandilistk, 15 Juin 2019

After reading the mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, I had very low expectations of the hotel and it was a good thing that I had low expectations of the hotel during the past 3 days as I had more negative experiences than positives. To start things of, I'll list down the positive things about the hotel. For a solo traveller who just needed a place to sleep & shower as I was out throughout the day, the room was pretty decent just to sleep and shower. Nothing to complain about the room. Also another positive thing about the hotel was that it was near to places like Times Square, Happy Valley & also the MRT station. Now with the negatives. One of the issues that I had with the hotel was the staff. Felt that the staff were very rude, unfriendly and didn't have that hospitality spirit to serve the guest especially during my check in service. The person who check me in didn't even look at me when explaining the hotel policy. Another issue that I had with the hotel was the WiFi. The hotel definitely need to improve on their WiFi as there were certain time where I can't even access the Internet, YouTube, Instagram, etc. As a whole, I think the hotel needs to really improve before I even decide to come back to the hotel in the future.

"A Boutique hotel"
Arnold C, 09 Juin 2019

A small boutique hotel in Causeway Bay. A block from Times Square and MTR. A great place to be out of the way and sleep! Good value!!! Staff is very helpful. I booked 14 twin rooms for my Dragon Boat team!!

"All rooms are Smoking"
F4890SK, 30 Mai 2019

I booked a non-smoking room but they do not exist. The hotel staff had the nerve to tell me that my room, despite having an ashtray, was non-smoking. The staff then told me that EVERY room has an ashtray. I refused to stay and had to push hard to get a refund. Stay away unless you enjoy cigarette smoke.

"Value for money, a surprise stay"
380ansonc, 29 Mai 2019

It is my 2nd time stay at this hotel. Location and customer service are the main reasons to book this. Location wise, closed to Times Square, Sogo and the subway station, restaurants, entertainment, just one step distance. This time I booked the best room which located on roft top, seems like 39floor, has equipped jacuzzi at in-room balcony with great view, i feel so relaxed. Room decor and cleanliness are good too, chandelier, wallpaper, sliding door, amenities, nothing was disappointing me. Special highlighted and thanks to their service staff, Alan and Mandy, from check in to check out, they are so accommodating and courteous to give me tourist information. Will definitely back and highly recommended.

"basic"
Ponchit_gardenworx, 03 Mai 2019

Chose the hotel for the location. Best westwrn allows you to travel on the cheap.rooms are a tad tiny mayby 16 squate meters but workable. Linens are crisp white. The room is very tidy. The bath is too too small 24 inches wide maybe 30 inches long. No sliding door but just basic shower curtain.some mold on the grout. The staff always attentive and friendly.breakfast basic but filling. Location is good. All causeway bay popular sites a walk away. I will go back just for the price and friendly staff

"Dirty "
Jamesmarstersfan, 22 Avril 2019

I came to this hotel for a week for a work trip. It was booked for me so I didn't choose to stay here. I certainly would never visit again. Dispute having early check in order I was not allowed to check in before 2pm (arrived at 1.30pm). The room stank of smoke as does the entire place. The room on arrival was filthy. The bedding was covered in discussing stains. I believe there were bed bugs and only slept on the bed after putting down blankets from the plane and towels from the bathroom. Even with these extra layers to try and avoid the dirty bedding the bed was very uncomfortable. The floor was filthy both the tiled part and the carpet which was covered in stains. Looked the the bottom of the slippers and they were black five minutes after putting them on. Room was tiny. Bathroom also very dirty. Bathroom products given were good. Wifi did not work properly and dropped out not working for hours at a time. I ended up going to various other places every night just to send and receive work emails. It takes two lifts to enter or leave the hotel which take forever. Breakfast is a joke. A tiny selection of gross food. Even the coffee was undrinkable. Staff were fine most of the time. Do not stay at this hotel it does not meet any basic requirements!

"unlike its hotel name it's worse"
VERONICA L, 18 Avril 2019

reception staff not friendly at all!! rooms are damp and very dusty!as it was so dusty i was coughing all night. Next day ask to change room and ask if they could give me a room that's free of dust but then found out it's the same big chunk of dust behind the door,i thought i just leave it to see if they clean up next day but it was still there !!Did not ask to move to a different room as it would be the same, we stayed therefor 3 nights. Hotel was old was rated 3 stars but it's onlt 1 1/2 star. would not recommend this hotel

"Worst experience ever"
Camper26243483310, 18 Mars 2019

One of the worst experience ever.Breakfast options are very limited, only 4-5 cut watermelon for fruit, boiled eggs and a toaster that doesn't work.On top of that they mix water in the orange juice container (tastes like lemon water) and the concierge guy is horrible, ask him to arrange a taxi he says " Go out and find taxi yourself". If you want to experience how worst services look like, go for it

"Just a two star hotel"

Quite a disappointing one night stay. Rooms are very basic. The biggest drawback is the wifi which the hotel say is provided is so weak that its of no use. Not value for money xxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxx. "Worst property"
Itsme_sach, 05 Mars 2019

It's one Of The worst hotels of best western chain, the rooms are so small that u enter n it's over. I understand most of hk hotels are small in size but not this small. The washroom is pathetic, the shower area is so small that it's hard to fit in for a guy like me imagine the healthy ones...the front desk is very arrogant. Mostly in this hotel u will find too much of pick up girls..the best part is it's very close to mtr, n if u need food fresh fruits the fruit market is very nearby. Since it's close to mtr doesn't means that u will reach to hotel once u get down from train in 5mnts but it will take good old 10 mnts walk within the station to exit. The most pathetic is their gym it has just 2 machines that's cycle that's it... I would say give a miss.

"Smoker's Delight"
arjaydobleyoo, 03 Mars 2019

The Best Western Causeway Bay had floors that are designated "Non-Smoking." The last time I stayed at the Best Western I reported on TripAdvisor that "the only issue is that the 'Nonsmoking Room' actually reeked from smoke. Clearly the hotel does not charge a customer cleaning fee for smoking in the room. The room's curtains needed to be cleaned in order to remove the heavy smoke smell. ..." When I booked a room this time I reported my experience last time and requested a non-smoking room again. Again I was assigned to a room on a "non-smoking" floor. When I entered the room the smell of cigarette smoke was present. And, there was an ash tray in the room! So, I'm truncating the review here. It's sufficient to say that the proof is that this hotel does not honor non-smoking requests and the evidence suggests they charge no room cleaning fee to smokers. If you desire a smoke-free environment then I'd recommend you stay elsewhere.

"Absolutely awful hotel."
Nana0808, 21 Février 2019

This hotel is not as displayed on website. The rooms are so tiny, there is no wardrobe the bathroom is so small you cannot comfortably sit on the loo. Towels too thin to dry you. Breakfast not for the European market. No comfortable place to sit either in room or reception. The staff are very unhelpful and so miserable they never crack a smile or say good morning. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Situated in a grimy back street with little or no view, the website picture displays a tree this is totally misleading the only vegetation is rotting.

"Budget hotel"
Bev S, 22 Janvier 2019

Only good thing about this hotel is the location but bed is not comfy as I can feel the spring of the bed! They fixed it by giving me a thin matress to put on the bed.. The room is freezing cold when we stayed there (winter) and told me they don't have heater so they just gave us a spare blanket..

"This is for a budget traveler "
AXA-India, 21 Janvier 2019

Hong Kong real estate is the world's most expensive and the costs of living is unbelievably high. The size of the room will be a bit of a challenge for a couple. But if you on a tight budget, this is one of the better hotel. My room was in front of the elevator but the door and wall insulation managed to snuff out the outside noise. I was able to place my cabin bag on the window ledge, which is helpful due to the small room. Both the aircon and hot water worked well. Housekeeping was carried out daily. Really, I have no complaints at all.

"poor"
Amy Y, 16 Janvier 2019

with such a good name but the poor quality turns people off. i booked this for a couple and they were shocked when i opened the door as the room was tiny and old fashioned. toilet failed to flush and sink was stuck nd water ccould not go thru the sink easily. the bathroom has no tub but a basic and cheap transparent plastic curtain which was terrible.

"DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL"
V2894LPadrianc, 03 Janvier 2019

Booked in four nights over New Year on my first trip to Hong Kong and was initially made to wait 30 minutes to check in and was then told, by a very unfriendly receptionist that the room wouldn't be ready for a further two hours, after the official check in time for the room. The room was very small but the main issue was that the bed was very old with springs protruding and deep cavities and was unfit for purpose. After a sleepless first night, I informed the reception that the bed was unacceptable and was told to pack our luggage and come to reception before 11am and that the new room wouldn't be available for another four hours! On my return to the hotel, having waited for four hours, I was then shown a series of rooms with similar very poor and uncomfortable beds. I immediately checked out, but had unfortunately pre paid for four nights but was told that no compensation, even being without a room for a total of six hours of our stay, would be offered as they had offered me other room options and the room was none refundable. Having contacted the hotel manager by email to explain my deep dissatisfaction, I requested to have the main Best Western Customer Service email address to log a complaint, which was agreed, however this was never provided and I am still waiting..... We checked into the Rosedale Hotel Victoria Park, similar price with far better customer service, friendly helpful staff and most importantly comfortable beds. Having stayed in many Best Westerns on business trips to the USA, which have always been very good, I will now never stay in a Best Western hotel again due my very poor experience.

"Good Location but Room is Small"
Nico A, 08 Décembre 2018

This is the smallest room that i ever stayed. Although the location can be considered as prime location. Its near Times Square meaning you dont need to worry about food and shopping heaven nearby. Compare to the price, you can get better hotel near here. This is the last option hotel. The only good thing is, it is very clean

"Best western= worst western, a hotel for lilliputs"
mmayank82, 17 Novembre 2018

The hotel was worst overall. Rooms with micro size. No friendly customer approach by staff..no early check-in or nonlate check out request processed..in helpful in all way....would recommend to stay only if your height is below 5 ft and if you are not getting stay at another hotel..Worst stay at Hongkong...strictly avoid !

"Best to stay Away, a 2-star masquerading as a 4-star property"
PhTravelling_Guy, 17 Novembre 2018

Tiny rooms (15 square meters) with an interior design sensibility that crosses the line into garish, gaudy, chintsy... I could go on and on. Someone said to me that the interior design of the hotel/rooms resemble hotels/rooms where one might shoot those kinds of videos, to which I replied, "there wouldn't be enough room for the camera equipment", to which he replied, "all you need nowadays is a handheld." Touche. On the practical side, the so called in-room safe is located very low, almost floor level, and cannot fit a laptop. The shower stall is so tiny that a well built person will not fit. Cheap toiletries. The vanity is located outside the bathroom. The mini refrigerator is just a refrigerator, there is no freezer. The beds are quite firm. (I did not sleep well on any of the 3-nights I was there.) The flat screen TV (which sports a garish red bezel) has limited channels and piss poor reception (not watchable) at the upper channel range. The hotel's entrance is located in a side street. Flimsy in-room slippers. Poor internet. No closet or drawers of any kind. No stand-alone working table. Any positives? Two free bottles of water every day. Good views of the Happy Valley race course in some of the rooms and city views in others. Very strong water pressure. The hand held shower had a mist spray that, coupled with the very strong water pressure, would have made for an utterly enjoyable shower if the shower stall were larger. Towels were okay. Never ate at the restaurant. Had no intention of doing so. Caught breakfast at the Coffee Academics on Morrison. Location wise, the hotel's in Causeway bay and is walking distance to Times Square, Lee Gardens, and Sogo. Avoid if you have a choice.

"Great location "
hazzpel1, 06 Novembre 2018

Great location near Times Square and a short 5 min walk from Causeway Bay MTR, clean rooms, room size small but ok by Hong Kong standards, there is no closet, but did have a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a room safe

"Dont stay here !"
OnAir00559683594, 06 Novembre 2018

The front desk check in staff are rude, impolite, unhelpful and very unfriendly. They dont smile, they dont ask you how you are , just shocking customer service ! Very poorly trained. But, the WORST past was the room. Im ok with ie being small, this is HK and space is a premium. BUT, i expect it to be clean ! I found old food from previous guests under the bed and behind curtains. The floor was not cleaned during my stay. Truly disgusting !

"Need to lower your expectation if you decide to choose this hotel ..."
StormSpear, 04 Novembre 2018

We were traveling to Guangzhou via a 2 nights stopover in Hong Kong to see our daughter. On the 1st night, we stayed at the Best Western Causeway Bay and the 2nd night at Dorsett Mongkok which will be described subsequently in the next review. The Best Western hotel is approximately 9-10 years old. It has a layout that looks a little strange at the ground level - a large void space with a kind of large sewerage grease interceptor metal panel on the floor. Nothing suppose to sit on it due to its accessibility for cleaning purpose except for an isolated moveable round fountain type settee placed on it. Not to worry, there isn't any foul smell emitting from it. Next to this are some brief seating area and counter for security personnel. The checking-in counter is located on the 3rd level and is simple enough to serve its purpose. Checking-in doesn't take much time and we have specifically requested for a non-smoking room through on-line booking as well as reiterating upon collection of keys. We were then given 37th floor which we assumed is the highest floor from the appearance of the buttons on the lift panel. The aisle to our room is really narrow and if you stretch out both your arm wide, both palms can touch both sides of the wall on the aisle. Our room is the 2nd room from the ends of the aisle and as we opened the room door, a stench of cigarette smell greeted us. We were told it was a non-smoking room; perhaps the previous guest did not abide to the hotel ruling or the counter staff just tried their luck if we will accept the room and bare with it. Unfortunately that didn't work out, we went back to the counter staff and requested for a change of room. No question was asked and they immediately gave us another room on the 33rd floor. This time there was no cigarette smell and the air was pleasant. However, you can find an ashtray in the room (see photo). It is mind teasing: if it is a non-smoking room, why provides an ashtray. That explain why the previous room at 37th floor has cigarette smell as it conveniently allows its guest to smoke, hence, converting non-smoking room to smoking room easily. One may even assumes the entire hotel makes up of smoking room and we are fortunate to have a smoking room without cigarette smell. The room is small and dimly lit except for the toilet. There is no table lamp on both side of the bed. The only lighting for the room is something like a mini hanging chandelier (see photo). It is kind of weird with a hanging chandelier right above the bed. This is my first time seeing such light fitting used by hotel and placing it above you when you sleep. The hotel provides strong wifi, fridge, safe, coffee, tea and complimentary 2 water bottle. Its provisions are placed at every available space found in the room. With a little bit of looking up & down, you can definitely find it. The toilet has all the essentials, except for face towel, compressed within a small confined space. Even the toilet bowl area is narrow but definitely enough for a reasonable size person to sit on it unless you are Sumo Wrestler, then you may have a problem fitting into the narrow space which is just nice for the WC bowl. The bed is hard with one flat pillow and if you are not used to the hard bed and one pillow, like me, you may have a problem having a good night rest. I don't think I have slept. Fortunately, it is only a night stay. Please take note that what you see on site and the pictures posted on the internet do varies. As the hotel is almost 10 years old, there will be wear & tear and may not look as new as the pictures but generally clean enough to welcome its guests. Price wise is reasonable if you book in advance.

"Good value for money"
Teodora-Coldea, 04 Novembre 2018

We were at this hotel only for one night. Hotel is located in a perfect position very good for ones wanted to explore the most rated attraxtions of Hong Kong. You have acces to bus, metro team very fast (less than 200 meters from the hotel). Personnel of the hotel arranged for us the Airport shuttle so we get the hotel very fast. The best of our stay was the room view (35th floor, Room no. 209). Room is a bit small but for stay Ing more than 1 night, but really enough for a quick city break in Hong Kong. Breakfast is diversified enough (both continental and chinesse dishes, natural cofee, milk, natural orange juice and fruits). I totaly reccommend this hotel.

"Better find other hotel"
kristianus_satrio, 31 Octobre 2018

I check in here this week twice. Monday 29 Oct (1 night check out). The problem is they lack of hospitality. I don't know then why they are in this business. Ok, the hotel location is strategic, but the staff is not into that helping habit. The check in staff, she is not nice, the concierge even worst. If they set the check in lobby at the third floor, why don't they put a big Signage?? So I don't need to be yelled by their concierge staff and feeling stupid because I don't know where to check in. And the second day check in 31 Okt , I think I have do my best to ask nicely to the concierge how to book a taxi for my morning flight. This is because the front desk ask me to ask the concierge. And the response only "taxi easy, there are alot you just wave your hand there" (.. dude.. I know a lot of taxi in the road). I just want to ask you, can you help me book a taxi for my morning flight... ( Really not helping). Sorry for writing while grumpy. Oh another one this hotel very strict about the breakfast schedule they won't give you any food or allowed you near them before 7' o clock. It is because my friend pick me at seven in the morning and I just want to grab something before we go to mainland. The staff just ignored my request, I feel as i'm not their guest. Just like I'm staying here for free. So better go to the nearest MC Donald and next don't include breakfast if you forced by someone to stay here or by your subconscious. The room is very small the safe is not working. Suggestions : if you go by budget or booking online really check the guest comment. I forgot doing this just believing my friend to set me a nice strategic hotel. And usually best western never disappointed me this much.

"Horrible experience"
Jagbir S, 29 Octobre 2018

Unfriendly staff, shoebox room that were smelly. Hard beds. Very poor by best western standards. Really disappointing experience. I struggled through 3 nights there, with constant thoughts of checking somewhere else.

"good value, nice rooms, sensible facilities, AMAZING VIEWS"
Rufus B, 27 Octobre 2018

I opted for this hotel partly as the idea of a rooftop jacuzzi sounded great and the pricing was attractive for two rooms two nights as part of a business trip The hotel hit the spots. OK so let's get some weak points out of the way - the wifi is there and encouraging but waves in and out taking ages to do things on a laptop albeit pretty good for a phone; the entrance is off a back street then up to third floor reception which is an OK space but utterly lacking WOW, finally for negatives the cabbies don't recognise British English "Best Western" (they eventually play back to you Be' We'en and you agree) nor do they accept that it is in Causeway Bay so GIVE THE STREET NAME. Cabs are cheap and good so in Hong Kong you are likely to use them and being able to get to your hotel is important. On positives, the room was well equipped, its views from the window had wow factor in bucketloads, you can pay FAR more for a hotel in this expensive city and they looked after luggage very happily on our final day post check out until much later that day (chained up and tagged for security etc). What is more the jacuzzi is big enough in my view that they could promote it as a splash pool - I've been in hotels claiming to have a swimming pool yet in which one could only do fewer strokes than Be' We'en hotel Cheung Woo Lane offered!

"Great "
Hayley K, 10 Octobre 2018

Small room but everything was in working order and I had no problems. View of the city. Was lucky enough to see the fireworks from my room on National People of China day. Was a bit disappointed that the staff wouldn't call me a taxi at the end of my stay ... not quite sure why this was the case?

"Never choose this Hotel"
Ryder67, 20 Septembre 2018

The room is not more than a chamber and smells like a mushroom farm. It never ever meets the price. For a Best Western it's a shame. For a Hostel maybe the price would meet the standard. I would strongly not recommend this Hotel. It's even not worth to call it a hotel.

"Take it if there's a deal"
L S, 18 Septembre 2018

I found this hotel for only 660HKD in weekdays. If you find this price, please take it. It's the common small room from Hong Kong, but clean and comfy. I got annoyed not to have a working table, though. Views from 31st floor were gorgeous.

"Authentic Hong Kong Hotel in a Great Location"
VangroovyFoodie, 16 Septembre 2018

The Best Western Causeway Bay is located in an older, authentic, part of Hong Kong called Wan Chai. It's on a small, narrow alley surrounded by various businesses, apartment buildings, bus lines, and restaurants (cheap eats to mid-range). It's a little hard to find, even for taxi drivers but with a printout of the hotel and our cell GPS, the driver was able to find it. In order to get a taxi, you will need to get to the main road about 2 blocks away. It's generally quiet as most businesses in the alley close by 8 but there are a lot of cars because of the clubs nearby. When you enter the hotel, the bottom floor is a waiting area for the bus shuttle and it has luggage storage. There is an elevator that takes you to the 3rd floor, where you will find the hotel check-in and then a second set to elevators that takes you to the rooms. The halls are narrow and the rooms are tiny. We stayed in a City View Room. We've travelled throughout Asia and this was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. There was a 10 foot hallway from the door to the bed area with a little bathroom, just past the hotel room door. The room was well designed with a nicely decorated and functional bathroom, lovely ceiling fixtures, and side tables. But there was absolutely no place to rest your luggage except beside the kettle and coffee that sit on the window sill. There was no dresser and very little floor space. They only have 220 volt outlets so an adapter is necessary for devices and hair dryers, etc. There was a room safe and the air conditioner worked very well. The hotel housekeeping was very polite and often greeted us with a smile, when we were in the halls. There was free Wi-Fi which was pretty good. I would give 6.5 out of 10. The people at the hotel registration and the breakfast/lounge are very nice, helpful, professional, and speak fairly good English. The people in the luggage/hotel shuttle area are a little curt but generally helpful. There are two computers in the breakfast/lounge area that are free of charge to use and have good internet service. The location is wonderful to catch any bus or street car. It is a 10 minute walk from the subway line but during the rush hour (3:00 PM to 7:00 PM), it is incredibly busy and takes closer to 30 minute to get back. It's a quick walk to the bus for Victoria Peak or the Happy Valley Racecourse. There's a little food market open until 8 (recommend getting there by 6:30 PM) or some stalls may have run out of food or are already closed. There's also an inexpensive, 24-hour laundromat with self-serve machines or laundry service, about 2 blocks away. My only word of caution is because this hotel is in a commercial and residential area of Wan Chai, it's a little dirty and I did see a rat coming from the residential building across from the hotel. The hotel was INCREDIBLY CLEAN but I thought I should mention this. The Best Western Causeway Bay is a good value (if paying under $130 CAD/$100 USD) if you like being close to amenities and transit and want to stay in an authentic part of Hong Kong and enjoy close quarters.

"Stay only when you have no other choice"
richardw0ng, 15 Septembre 2018

As per the title, I have to stay in the hotel due to 3rd party arrangement. The only good thing about this hotel is location and the 39th floor jacuzzi, other than that, nothing is worth the price. The room is small and the space to use the toilet bowl is ridiculously tight (see picture). I wonder how big sized people is going to use it. The bathroom towel smells and there is no table in the room except a foldable one next to the bed. Unless you have no other choice, otherwise find a better place.

"small rooms but great location"
CirqueTraveler, 14 Septembre 2018

Very small rooms but the location smak in the middle of Wan Chai is priceless. Besides, you are in Hong Kong! Don't sit in your hotel room the whole day! Hong Kongs is the best city in Asia, period...

The staff is not friendly at all They didnt have a willingness to help They cant speak english For example.. I asked the staff (front desk, concierge, housekeeping, etc) to give me a marker because i want to write something in my lugage, but they said they didnt have it. The worst thing is all of them didnt give me a way out for that. Another things that i asked them, they keep saying "they didnt have it, they told me to go buy without telling the name of the shop/market, they said their only job is to welcome a guest, they told me to call another unit (section), they didnt have a service for it, etc.." I can said that this is THE WORST INTERNATIONAL BUDGET HOTEL EVER. I wouldnt recommend you to book a room in this hotel.

"Tiny. Bad attitudes."
DLionheart60, 05 Août 2018

I stayed here in April of 2018. First room smelled like smoke even though I was on Non-smoking floor. There was an ashtray in my room. The front desk receptionist was sullen and told me that instead of giving me a new room they'd get rid of the smell. How can you effectively do that?? I went out for several hours and returned to a room that smelled like vinegar and smoke. I asked to be moved to a floor that was far from the smoking floors. The sullen one said I was 16 floors away from the nearest smoking floor but that was not true. I was one floor above according to the markings on the floors themselves and the elevator signs. Very begrudgingly they gave me a room on a much higher floor the next day. Smoke smell was gone. The rooms are so small I cannot imagine how anyone who is not slender can use the toilet since the walls are so close on the sides. The entrance to this hotel is off an alley which at night does not feel safe. The lobby is on the 2nd floor so you have to enter directly from the dark alley into an elevator to switch to a hotel elevator. As a single woman this wasn't a great feeling. BUT here is what is good: the neighborhood! And the view (check out pics attached.) Stayed here for 8 days. My very kind employer was paying so I stayed.

"Dark. Load. Small. Avoid"
Michael M, 02 Août 2018

I like quiet rooms with good WiFi. Best Western Causeway Bay is not one of these. Air conditioner is very load so hard to sleep. Room is very dark and depressing. For some reason they put a chandelier in the bedroom. I was upgraded to a nice room so I hate to think what the ordinary rooms are like. Room felt dirty. WiFi did work okay, but no desk so no place to do any work in the room.

"Value for Money"
TecParker, 26 Juillet 2018

Its our 3rd time to stay in this hotel, the latest one was during our July 1-3 visit to Hongkong. The room maybe small but it has all the amenities we need, clean, with a small cooler, free water and coffee and tea, hotpot, a beautiful view of the City esp the city/building lights at night, cable TV, free breakfast that while has only a few selections at least about 6 main and fruits, coffee, yogurt, juice- were satisfying. My American husband consumed 5 yogurt so did that Caucasian lady in the next table. Downside maybe the entrance thru a small alley but its just the 2nd building from the main street. I think for safety and control, thye have their reception/front desk in the 2nd floor which is ok. The back street is a fish/seafood market with restaurants where tables are covered with plastic for the mess, and conveniently tied to dispose of... very practical. It is walking distance to the Malls in Causeway Bay (Times Square etc.) and trams to go to nearby places of interest and shopping area. We get the best and freshest fruits at value prices walking distance or a tram ride... and buses are just a walking distance away. The value for price is great. We have tried those supposed hotels that are actually just a floor or portion of a floor of the building so you have to compete with ppl in the elevator or pass by not so desirable stuff and for the price very close to Best Western. I won't mention their name but when you search you find them and they seem to be ok but watch out for them... cramped rooms and bath, and surprises in your mattresses... So I would recommend this hotel for those who want good enough accommodation in a location near transportation and all!

"Disappointed"
Raja R, 18 Juillet 2018

There is nothing good with the hotel. The pictures are taken well but overall the hotel is shabby. No proper service during chekin.. hotel rooms are tooooooo small that 2 people cant even move in the rooms. Basic facilities in the hotel. Break fast is average... Gym is pathetic & worst part is we cant even get a taxi nor anyone helps to get a taxi.. never every will stay in this hotel.

"Hong Kong after 28 months"
Gopal R, 23 Mai 2018

It took a little while to get to the Hotel from Times Square, and this was around 1 pm. A rather disgruntled guest alighted from the elevator and muttered that it was NOT the right time to check - in, Undeterred I proceeded to Reception, and was given my room key in 5 minutes! The room was small, not enough to swing a cat in, but functional enough for my needs - bed, shower, wifi, mini bar and upon request received an iron and board.I did not sample any other facility in the hotel, and checked out after 2 days. OK for a short business stay.

"Good Mid-Level Hotel in Hong Kong"
Dennis B, 18 Mai 2018

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Good location, overall its a very clean hotel. Nice lobby and facilities. The back alley is a food and fish market. Lots of fun in the evening to walk around when you come and go from the hotel.

"They will take your money and never back"
OlivaPark, 27 Avril 2018

the reception staff speaks in a boorish tone, as if doing me a favor. which will clarify any information necessary to wait for their good mood. apparently, today the stars do not converge, and again I will not receive a response to my letter by e-mail at this hotel. the next step is to call the head office, if it's still quiet, then the court because of not refunded money for the guarantee reservation. I hope that the hotel administration will pay attention to me.

"So bad we left early! "
Sean B, 29 Mars 2018

Do not stay here. This hotel was so bad we left early. Forget our non refundable rate and prepaid breakfast, we cut our losses and left early. Do not be fooled by anyone else's mediocre reviews. Use my bad experience as a warning to save your money and find a different hotel. We got off to a bad start. Check-in was a joke. The staff is totally useless. We only had two rooms and there was so much paper work, you would have thought I was buying a used car. We get to our rooms. Wow what a shocker. Smoking rooms that smell like vinegar. I called the front desk and sure enough, they assigned us smoking rooms. I did not reserve smoking rooms so they had to move us. We had to pack up and move to a different floor. The desk agent refused to give us new keys until we handed over the keys for the old rooms. What a hassle! After traveling for over a day and wanted to get settled, this treatment was the last thing we wanted to deal with. Also, for three days in a row we had to get the room keys reset since they kept working. Another trip up and down the elevator after a long day around the city. The blank stares of the desk agents is priceless. Any complaint and they don't know how to respond. We were under the assumption breakfast was included but it was not. So we bought breakfast from the hotel and what a joke! Major lack of options, flavor, color, and taste in every way. Just two hours later my daughter was barfing in the subway station garbage can in front of thousands of commuters because of something she ate at the horrible hotel breakfast. The rooms are super tiny. The bathroom is so small that I can't even get all my bodily functions completed in one sitting because my legs won't spread far enough apart. I'm 5'8” and 180lbs with a 31” waist. My shoulders are hitting the side walls when I sit on the toilet. The rooms are clean and do have good views. The WiFi is free but not all fast. The room and hotel decor is old and could a lot of help. The room did have free water and a mini fridge. Don't drink the yellow hotel water. I thought someone had urinated in our toilet and didn't flush. But it's just the yellow water. The location is good but the street the hotel is located on is quite a dingy alleyway. So we booked 4 nights but leaving after 3. We have had enough. Best Western is the worst and is not doing itself any favors with this property in its portfolio.

"Worst check-in experience ever..."
Bram D, 26 Mars 2018

Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist as: "Check-in is at 2" (I knew that but just wanted to double check the reservation) Upon check-in Kerry (the receptionist) didn't greet us but just said "passport" Also worth noting that the rooms are tiny and the hallway smells like old carpet. My recommendation: stay away...

"Happy with it"
alli_sun_T, 24 Mars 2018

The room was nice and clean. It's obviously smaller than a standard American hotel room but it's not bad for two people. My main problem was that even on a non smoking floor people still smoke and it smelled terrible. There's also no light above the mirror so it can be difficult to do your makeup. The view from the rooftop was incredible though. Check out WTF around the corner for amazing cocktails!

"Worse hotel I've stayed in"
JanVerney, 19 Mars 2018

Rooms dated, scruffy and definitely not clean. No information in the room and the toiletries are scarce to say the least. Reception staff surly , very unhelpful and not a smile in sight. Please avoid. Near to Times Square but there are better hotels in the vicinity

"small room"
Adlina P, 21 Février 2018

small room, but the location was great. if you muslim, you can reach ammar Mosque and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre to eat at their canteen only 5 minutes by walk. from this hotel you can reach to the nearest tram stop around 5 minutes , and to the nearest mrt causeway bay station around 4-6minutes by walk

"Time Square is the only reason to stay"
JonasCN, 17 Février 2018

This is an interesting boutique hotel. I chose this hotel as it was the nearest hotel to Times Square (3 mins walk from the back door). However, I found it hard to give any more positive ratings beyond its location next to Times Square. Pros 1. The location is 3 minutes walk from Times Square. It is true as advertised. From Times Square, you can easily find the MTR station to travel to other parts of Hong Kong. 2. The rooms are clean and service is good. I did not encounter any negative experiences. It was definitely up to the standard I expect from Best Western. 3. There are some eateries outside the hotel, reasonably priced. There is also a KFC just outside the hotel I did not try. 4. The wild western room decor is interesting as you don't find this type of design often. The chandelier in each room is a interesting highlight. Cons 1. Beyond Times Square, the location is not a plus point. To reach the hotel, you have to walk past a dark and narrow alley. The sewer smell is evident. If you are carrying a heavy luggage, this could be quite a difficult task manoeuvring your heavy luggage along the uneven road heading to the alley. It is also difficult to locate the hotel. The exterior is hardly noticeable. The vertical Best Western signboard is also blocked by another hotel nearby. 2. The gym is unequipped. There are only 2 cycling machines. Both treadmills are old and rusty. There are no weights. Perhaps that is why the gym is deserted. 3. The breakfast is repetitive. There are few selections and the the menu everyday seems similar (minus the type of noodles). My advice is you don't opt for the breakfast menu if you are on a holiday, as there are better breakfast options near Times Square or just outside the hotel. 4. The TV in the room is too small. It is a bit to enjoy any shows with such a small TV. It is a pity as there are a few good international channels like BBC, Discovery and Super Soccer. Perhaps a bigger TV will make a lot of difference in making the stay more pleasant. 5. The lift is really slow. You need to factor time wait for the lift when you are checking out. Overall, the pricing of this hotel is not competitive. There are better hotels with better location for the same price. If you must stay in this hotel, it should only be because you needed a quiet hotel, or you are planning to visit Times Square often.

"Shady place, definitely avoid"
primalsoupIII, 20 Janvier 2018

Bad smell everywhere in the building, the kind where you do not want to know where it?s from. Feels dirty. At arrival yoùre asked to leave another deposit of 1000hkd even though the rooms where already paid for. When we wanted to cancel the terrible breakfast, we were told it?s non-Refundable. Hard to believe that it‘s a „real“ best western hotel, witnessed a fellow customer‘s Best Western membership card magically didn‘t work at the reception... scam?

"Incredibly bad hotel experience "
matured, 14 Janvier 2018

We stayed there for 2 nights. Enough! The reception staff really needs to improve their customer service. They are so unfriendly & unwelcome. Never in my life ever stayed in a hotel where the reception staff made u feel unwelcome. They forget the customers pay their salaries. The restroom in the hotel lobby is locked don't know for whatever reason. I had to wait for the reception staff to attend to me but they never did. They know their best approach is to ignore your request. Such appalling attitude from a hotel reception staff!!! Concierge service is good . They are helpful. The housekeepers are helpful. Room is very tiny no space to put your luggage. A disappointment. There is no main entrance only side entrance. The room smelled of smokes even though it's a non smoking room. Bathroom is so cramped i hit myself accidentally coz there are too many corners. Breakfast is limited. No wifi reception in the breakfast area. Room is small sometimes u need to wait for your table. Location is great just behind Times Square & Causeway Bay station entrance. It's a 12 min walk in the station tunnel to the actual train line. I won't recommend to long distance travellers with a few big luggages. No space in the room to put your luggages. The airport transfer is a big disappointment for HKD140 per person. U need to drag all your luggages on the road to the main road. I have a big luggage & small luggage. It's not easy to drag a big luggage on the road. Anyway it's my last stay in this hotel.

"Terrible place, best to avoid"
globetrotterwnnaB, 11 Janvier 2018

To start with the best: location - with shopping malls and restaurants of all kinds close by. But this is about the only thing good about this place. Concierge staff and housekeeping staffs are fine. Reception staff are not kind, they gave you a feeling that they don't really want to talk to you. Expedia site states a 2 PM check-in hour, but upon arriving at 1:30, told it was 2:30. The hotel claims to have wifi, but more than half of the time, none of our devices could get a proper signal, even when I turned everything off, just to keep one device on at a time. I in the end had to resort to turn on the hotspot on my cell to get a connection. Room is so tiny, there is NOT even a place where you can put your laptop on. No storage space. It has dark wallpaper, making the room feels even smaller. Elevator would not work at times, it stops briefly at the floor you pressed, but the door would not open, it would then go up to another floor. Avoid at all cost! Can't believe Google Map has this one listed as a 4-star hotel. 1-star at best. Not sure if they're trying to be sarcastic...

"Small Rooms"
Ryan B, 07 Janvier 2018

Staff were friendly enough however the room was incredibly small, only room for two small single beds and that's pretty much it. My suitcase was basically in the way of getting into the room itself. The room was a superior city view room, however I wouldn't call the room 'superior' or a 'city view' room as the view was of an old buildings plumbing pipes in short. Bathroom very basic. The free breakfast was also very basic and food quality wasn't the best. Wouldn't recommended a room for two people - just one. Good location though and plenty of places to eat nearby. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay here again.

"Nice suprise"
Jack_eats_the_world, 06 Janvier 2018

Booked here by chance and was nicely surprised. At reception upon check in the staff were very prompt as well as nice. English wasn't a lot of their first languages but they went to every extent to make sure everything was well. I stayed in one of the rooftop villas, it had a private area with a jacuzzi with a to die for view. When booking here I would definitely recommend getting this room. The room itself was a little small but was comfortable and had everything you needed. The breakfast was good but as centrally located the hotel is there are so many choices around for food. The staff on the ground entrance were great fun to talk to and gave me great advice of what to do and how to get around.

"Just seeing a little of Hong Kong"
Sue F, 29 Décembre 2017

Small room with nowhere to store clothing, bathroom only good for average sized people, &, as someone else has said, there was a permanent smoke smell, restaurant average, location although handy to many shopping centers was in a street of markets & butchering happening on the pavement.

"RIP-OFF, will never stay there again. Booking.com not effective, but takes their commission"
lagoon08, 29 Décembre 2017

In mid November we had to change accommodation and that week the prices all over the city went skywards for 3 days. This hotel normally is HK 650/night went to HK2,285/night or £229/night. However we needed three nights so we booked, but the booking via Booking.com charged the rate for all 6 nights, instead of dropping when the general rates dropped, as most hotels do. The room was small, poorly lit and had no hanging space, cupboards nor drawers, as we were travelling for 3 weeks this was terrible. Cases could hardly be opened. The first night we were awoken by noisy people around midnight, we called Booking.com who said they would try to resolve matters the following morning. At 5 am onwards the nearby guests started to check out noisily, awoken again!! The following morning we spoke to the duty manager who arranged for us to move to a superior room on a much higher floor, but with no hanging space nor drawers! It was marginally better but we moved the following night into a corner room with a little bit more room and two hangers on the wall and some space to leave cases. We asked to check out but were told that we would forfeit our money so we stayed. One of the reasons given was that Booking.com would not give up their commission!! We remained there for 6 nights altogether and it was our worst hotel experience in many years and we were disgusted that Booking.com were some ineffective in resolving matters, we even gave them the name of the manager for them to discuss matters with. In conclusion terrible stay and please avoid Booking.com as they are pretty useless in resolving problems.

"Avoid the Hotel "
assham, 21 Décembre 2017

One advice- don't visit the hotel. One of the worst hotel I ever stayed in. Worst staff no courtesy shown.takes ages for check in and small rooms. No decent breakfast. Very very bad experience. If you can avoid avoid never stay here

"An Unimpressive Hotel with a Pathetic Entrance"
ashwanikumard2015, 12 Décembre 2017

Best Western Causeway claims to be a 4 star property and costs as much but has a very unconventional entrance from a side door even the Hotel Shuttle bus leaves you 100 metres away to lug your baggage through smelly shops and open drains. The rooms are 8x8 feet including the toilet. The restaurant food quality is very poor and has an horrible smell. We stayed 5 nights of a prolonged nausea!

"Most Disapointing"
Don7hop, 06 Décembre 2017

The hotel reception is on the first floor accessed through a side door or loading bay. The lift from ground to reception is separate from reception to the floor levels. I have used Best Western for over 40 years and am entitled to upgrades which put us on the 31st floor, I have always previously found Best Western rooms in many countries to be similar and acceptable, however our room was tiny with one hanging rail two hangers and two small shelves for our clothes, which generally had to remain in the cases. With the cases on the floor we could barely get round the bed. The room was dated and dull with poor lighting such that we were unable to read. No bedside lights. The safe was so low one had to get on your knees to open it. We are non smokers and the smell of cigarettes was terrible. It is to be noticed that this hotel was reasonably priced. We left after 3 days cancelling the other 5 we had booked

"Good enough"
Lee B, 05 Décembre 2017

Staff are friendly and helpful, location is good-5 minute walk from causeway MTR. Breakfast is not good, but lots of options outside the hotel. If you cannot bear the smell of stale cigarettes don't stay here. If you can get a good deal on the rooms it may be worth it, if had been other options I probably would have taken them.

"Within Reach"
garryc514, 29 Novembre 2017

This is my first hand experience I read the information about hotels in Hong Kong and yes the room is not big for the price you're paying but it is very much within reach I mean it's in the center of Hong Kong island. You can go to places using the MTR which is a 5 minutes walk. The hotel has a market near it so if you fancy going to the market or wanting to ride a tram or wanted to go some place else has different bus stops near it.

"Not an ideal hotel"
Calvin W, 26 Novembre 2017

Basically room are surprisingly small compared to others surrounding hotels and with the rate they charged. Not even a decent wardrobe that you can hang your clothing. Basically be prepared to unpacked your luggage on the floor or on the bed as they do not even have a luggage rack. Did not expect a decent one but not even a foldable rack. More ridiculous is booked for a double bed room but was told it was not available and the reptilian offered to join the 2 singles bed. Normally if this option offered they will set up a double bed mattress pad and a double bed bedsheet, but to my surprised was they just push the 2 single beds together and that's it. It is just frustrating and the receptionist seems can't be bother and they don't even look at you when you tried to communicate with them. Their services was on their computer busy doing something else. Thanks god my company able to change the hotel to the nearby one and it is much more better than this.

"Run down and not worth hotel"
doreen k, 17 Novembre 2017

Really feel not worth the amount we pay for such hotel without much facilities. There is not even a writing desk in the room, it is like a budget hotel for you to take shower and sleep then get out shopping. The so call entertainment area only have a swimming pool which is so small and that place so dark and eerie The dinning place is just like a tuck shop and no one there to attend to you too. Do not believe and rely on the hotel shuttle bus schedule to airport, they can just tell you do not have that at the timing you want and ask you to walk out to the other hotel to get taxi yourself. So disappointed with this hotel which charge such a high price but give you a worst than budget hotel service and facilities.

"Way nicer than expected, cool mini rooftop infinity-pool and wall decor, chandeliers."
LexExelero, 01 Novembre 2017

Didn't expect anything from this hotel, only booked it for the closeness to the Time Square where I had a business meeting. And I came here after enjoying the Executive Suite at Metropark Hotel that has the amazing Rooftop Pool that I absolutely recommend. Of course compared to the above mentioned, the room was small but the decor was kind of cute with nice wall papers and chandeliers every where even in your own room! The view was also quite nice, from a 23rd floor room that the lady at the reception offered when I requested a higher floor room. And then the surprise came when I decided to push the "roof" button on the elevator! It led to a vey cute rooftop wannabe infinity-pool!! And a stunning view of Hong Kong skyscrapers! The pool is small, just enough for a frolicking couple or a group of friends however it was empty almost every time I went there so I enjoyed sitting on the long chairs at the table and even ate my dinner there after buying it from restaurants at Times Square! The room has a sitting porch by the window where I enjoyed the view during breakfast and they have minimum of water and kettle and instant drinks and even a small fridge where I could park the food & drinks I brought with me!! All in all it was an awesome experience given how cheap the room was and the fact that I didn't expect much. Yes it might be small but they are smart with the interior design, nice wall papers & cool sofas & chandeliers everywhere, like a gem on a dusty back street! Very easy walk to Times Square and even walked from there to the Moon Museum exhibit! Safe to walk in that area, no crooks! Staffs were quite nice too, for how cheap this place is, would stay again if on low budget and I still say this after having the wonderful luxurious experience to stay & be pampered at the Ritz-Carlton few days later!

"expected much better"
AbirBanerjee, 23 Septembre 2017

Seems a very average budget hotel perhaps ... rooms too cramped and extremely small , washroom equally small , corridors very narrow , view outside the window is normal and the surroundings is very average with a big street market around and lots of crowd. Even walk to MTR takes around 7-8 minutes.... maybe OK for just one night sleep , if you spend the entire day outside.

"SHOPPING CONVENIENCE"
WaltGlobal, 21 Septembre 2017

The hotel is not connected by the free shuttle service to the Airport Express, and the entrance is easy to miss. But once there, the people are friendly, i had a very nice room with a great view. It was everything I needed for a night in Hong Kong.

"Average Hotel, Great Location and Services"
Afitrahim R, 19 Septembre 2017

The location is near bowrington market and canal west road which have many foor stalls and restaurat and osman raju mosque who's famous for their canteen, also just 3 minute to times square mall and causeway bay MTR station. The hotel location is a little hard to find at first but after that it's easy to remember, the lobby is on the 3rd floor which is quite unsual for hotel. The staff is very helpful (jason very helpful make me through the check in) and the housekeeping is also quick response to fulfill my mineral water request all the time

"Good location but tiny rooms and poor service"
Tim M, 12 Septembre 2017

Hard to find as lobby on 3rd floor. Check in very inefficient and poor service from check in staff whose English is not very good. Room very small even though I was upgraded to a deluxe room. Clean but very few amenities, no wardrobe, ironing board, trouser press, etc.. AC very loud and not very effective. Overall not what you expect from Best Western.

"Quite walking distance from CWB TIMES SQ"
Chia C, 11 Septembre 2017

+ point is near eatery - point is not near to mtr, walk about 8 mins from time sq and hotel is located at a back lane . Small room is fine but mattress not comfortable where u can feel and hear the spring sound when turning.

"Decent hotel in a good location"
manh_attan04, 06 Septembre 2017

Good location at a good price. Hotels in HK, especially in this location are usually quite expensive, so this is a good alternative. We especially enjoyed the views from the rooftop "pool" which is a bit tricky to get to, but has some beautiful views of the city. Best Western in HK is pretty basic, but there are good food options nearby and rates are solid.

"Good, clean, value hotel close to wai chan and causeway"
Kevin W, 23 Août 2017

A value hotel hidden between streets next to the south pacific hotel, it has a cheaper room rate than most 4 star Hong Kong island Hotel. Room are very small like most HK island hotels, but is clean, modern enough and has only basic amenities you need., i.e. shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer and free bottle water. A small safe and no closet for the basic rooms. The TV is old LCD, but the room are stylish. Staff are professional and speak english well and polite. The hotel is down a street alley where you can eat some cantonese food, that emerges on to the big Hennessy Road - easy to get to the bus or MTR and Wanchai's restaurants and pubs are a short walk. Theres a swimming pool on the 39th floor that is very small, Loads of shopping malls at Time Square, mostly high end stuff but some great restaurants too. Keep in mind the bed sucks.

"Decent hotel in a convenient location"
Jack M, 12 Juillet 2017

Reasonable room rate given Hong Kong prices. Room is small but clean, good enough and has the amenities you need. Breakfast is decent. Staff are businesslike but polite. The hotel is down a busy sidestreet that emerges on to the even busier Hennessy Road - easy to get to the MTR and Wanchai's restaurants and pubs are a short walk. Loads of shopping malls nearby, mostly high end stuff but some great restaurants too, both fancy places and cheap neighbourhood places. Interesting area with plenty to see and do.

"Old and Very Average Hotel"
John M, 28 Juin 2017

Staff were friendly enough and breakfast was ok. However room was very small and shower extremely small. Rooms very tired looking and could not recommend staying, even at the discounted prices. After the 4 nights we pre-booked we were so relieved to be escaping.

"Best is not correct"
Uwe S, 27 Juin 2017

Arrival at midnight - staff was not really interested. Automatically got smoking rooms - for non-smokers a challenge. Another 30 minutes of discussion until new rooms were allocated. Location excellent , but for some stars it needs more.

"Lipstick on a Pig"
Victorious_MUH, 11 Juin 2017

This "hotel" is Chunking Mansion with a bit of glitter and some smoke and mirrors added to the entrance and lobby, minus the hoards of men trying to aggressively sell rooms in front of the entrance. The management reflects the meat market mentality of budget accommodations. One really feels that, since you paid less, what do you expect? My room was small but clean. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, my room still smelled of cigarettes. It may be fine for some travelers, but I checked out the next morning. I found better accommodations for about the same price elsewhere.

"Good location"
janakovac, 08 Juin 2017

The hotel has a decent location- close to shops as well as piers to go to the other side of the bay and close to the metro. The room was tiny and it was clear it used to be a smoking room (although we asked for a non-smoking). The view from the room itself was very nice. Breakfast is practically not worth it- some very average eggs and pastry, a yogurt and chinese food. The pool on the roof is very small and there are only few sunbeds (and the water is pretty cold!) but the view is incredible. Not to expensive for HK, otherwise not very impressive.

"Not what i expected"
Ruby T, 04 Juin 2017

Stayed in best western hotels in US, this is not your typical best western. Room and bathroom was smaller. You have to call housekeeping for extra toilet paper ( none provided in the room ). Get your pain killer ready, the mattress are hard. Not firm, hard. And you can feel the springs. location is near markets and restaurants but you have to walk to the next street to get a taxi ride without causing an accident or be hit by cars on a busy street. Overall, okay i guess. But will try to book another hotel on my next visit.

"Acceptable stay"
LXLXLX, 03 Juin 2017

Good Great location within walking distance to shopping district and eateries Room is considered big by Hong Kong standards Not so good Wifi is hopeless Typical rude Hong Kong staffs Can be inconvenient to get to via MTR if you have luggages

"Well..."
f2titan, 30 Mai 2017

For the first time in many HK trips. I switched hotels. Still in the Causeway Bay area I like. The front entrance does not look welcoming. But as others have noted, location is fantastic. Time square is just a 5 min walk. My room was very small. But, for the price I understand. I was disappointed with the breakfast bar. Food looked like it had been sitting for some time without being refreshed or changed with new. Again, for the cost and location it's great. Just know there are some other compromises.

"Definitely a good choice for family travel"
JEMDR, 23 Mai 2017

Very well located, with a shuttle bus to the airport, tiny gim with cycle and elliptical, incredible little pool outdoor from where to watch the incredible view in the floor 38 (fake floor taking into account the remove all the 4 of numbers of floors). And with a price very convenient for families. Good Wi-Fi in the whole building. However it does not count on business center, rooms are small and entrances to the building not by glamorous streets so not good for business purposes. I'll repeat with my family.

"Well located"
IndianaFox, 22 Mai 2017

Good value hotel. Simple but reasonable price and very well located to enjoy Hong Kong island. Between Wanchai and Causeway Bay, close to markets, shopping malls, restaurants, ... Not far from Bus, MTR, ...

"Small but big"
Yoram L, 12 Mai 2017

The location of this hotel is 5 minutes walk to Time Square, which makes it an excellent location. The room is very small and not much space left even for luggage. The has all what you need in a room, like a mini refrigerator, a mini safe, coffee machine, two comfortable beds, flat TV, good Aircondition and all bathroom amenities so if you do not dance before sleeping it can be a good choice. We enjoyed it.

"location,location,location"

"Good Location with best view"

Good Hotel with best location & Best view from room window.. Room is small but who stays in room apart from sleeping. Nobody is receiving the call for room service when I want to order a mineral water bottle.

"Budget Hotel, Budget Price"
andriantopg, 04 Mai 2017

I spent my first night in Hong Kong here with my siblings. It was located not far from Causeway Bay Station so it was not hard to locate, but since it was in the middle of traditional market, there were a lot of puddles along the path. The good thing about this hotel was that there were lots of restaurant near the area, so you could choose wherever to have your meal. For the hotel room itself is not spacious, the bath was small, so if you are quite tall like I am, you would find this hotel quite uncomfortable. The bed was quite hard, but still tolerable. Overall, it was fairly good, considering the facility and convenience.

"Short escape"
Demi F, 30 Avril 2017

Hotel near to times square and traditional market place, can go for walking around for lunch and to shopping ... if need MTR or train station just walk to Times square station, room is to small i think for family and staff should be more friendly.

"Best western hotel "
Nosreffej C, 28 Avril 2017

I woke up in the morning and noticed that I had some insect bites in my face and body ,I think the bedsheets is not totally clean ,. The smell of the room is not good ,. The location is far from A11 bus stop to airport ,. And also to MTR station .. the room we got is smoking room ,.

"Wrong Grading"
User, 20 Avril 2017

Hotel is not 4 star but 2/3 star, quality if room and washrooms was not good, overall room was not cleaned, service was not upto the Best Western Standards, hence it was misleading, rates with respect to property quality were too high

"Small room"
MissyTravellor, 04 Avril 2017

This Best Western is at a very convenient location and 5 min walk to Causeway Bay subway and Times square. Lobby is not at ground floor and room is very small. The corridors look like a motel and bathroom was so small and old. The room felt like a small motel. There is a special deal (for one month staying) posted right at the entrance of the hotel and it was way cheaper than hotel.com but you have to call or go there and ask.

"Pleasant experience"
leatherworld, 02 Avril 2017

We had read of negative reviews on the hotel, but I travelled with my family and the room was small even by hong kong standards but for the budget it was good, it was clean the housekeeping was excellent, the staff was courteous and helpful, the hotel was very clean and the room was quite, it is located next to Times square and Convention center, Tsim sha shui is a quick train ride.

"Abysmal at best."
Humaidmansoor, 27 Mars 2017

When I had initially booked, I knew that I wasn't necessarily booking myself in a 5 star resort, having said that - I've been in a Best Western before, and I was still shocked at what was in store for me. First impression - it felt like I had walked into a loading area off of the street. Turns out,the reception is on the 3rd floor and you need to take your stuff up yourself, where you can check in. Reception staff wasn't welcoming at all. I got there in the evening around 9pm and there was a bit of commotion - might have been time for a change of shift. The lady behind the counter made it sound like they were giving me an upgrade. After understanding that I had to pay for it, I am so glad I did. Even though the room was on the top floor, it was possibly the tiniest I have ever been in. Barely any place to put in a suitcase, but once that's in there, you literally need to jump around. Sitting on the toilet seat, I could reach out to my bed. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the curtains were coming off the hinges. The ONLY redeeming factor was that the view was incredible. Had I opted for the room on a lower floor, I would have had a tiny window and would succumbed to my claustrophobia. When I got to the room, I found a note on my side table saying that there was renovation work going on next to my room. Even though I had been prepared, waking up to the sounds of drills and hammers at 8am every morning while on holiday is not ideal. At that point, I had to make a decision whether to keep the view or deal with the noise. I chose the view. There is no way one more person could have fit in the room with me at the same time. It's such a shame that my experience in Hong Kong has been tarnished by staying at this hotel.

"A horrible end to my Asia trip"
mommylal, 27 Mars 2017

Awful service and dirty hotel.Small rooms with two single beds put together to make a queen .The spring in mattress was broken which made so much noise at every little turn in bed.In fact I slipped off the bed as I sat on one side due to broken spring.Breakfast is the worst I have ever seen, your stomach will turn at the sight of the food that is served in a filthy looking hallway

"Nothing more than a 1 star hotel"
Tweety1106, 20 Novembre 2016

Check in staff very rude. We reached at 12pm were asked to wait till 2 pm. If we agreed to 220$ more per day we could get the room at 12 itself. Fraudsters. I refused to pay anything extra. Room size is so small and stuffy. If you have 2 bags then there is no place to move. The toilet has foam bath without a tub. The bed mattress spring was hurting. The breakfast area was made in corridor near the lift. Only one staff managing the whole area for 40-50 seats. He was trying his best to do everything quickly. The breakfast chaffing dishes were dirty. The glass plates were slight broken. No variety of a four star level. The entrance to the hotel is not good. Many warehouse loading and unloading goods. Will never stay again.

"Convenient Location will Offset the Size of room"
Marko N, 17 Novembre 2016

Outwardly a little akward building with an entry away from the mainstreet and the mainlobby at the third, this Hotel is perfectly catering the travelling crowd with priority on finding a stay near and around HK city life. A no thrills place which cristallises the old saying, location, location & location. You only need to step outside the hotel (and around the corner) to be immersed to the HongKong life just like the locals do. Take it as you like as positive or negative but somehow you are here so better embrace it just the same. Better look for luxury somewhere else, but be also at the same time be prepared to pay yourself silly, this is for people who understand that while sleeping you see very little besides your dreams.

"Not worth the cost"
Farlington-Bob, 15 Novembre 2016

This hotel is in a reasonable position, near times square MTR station (about 5 minutes walk). The hotel rooms re very small even for Hong Kong, there are no wardrobe, just a coule of hangers on thge wall. The bathroom is tiny & there was no shaver socket in the room. The reception staff were unhelpful, slow & extremely miserable. They seem to take a perverse delight in ignoring me when I was checking in & out. I have stayed in Hong Kong many times & this is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. I had great hopes as I have stayed in Best Western hotels in the US and UK & always found them very good.

"best price at its level "
gunawan g, 13 Novembre 2016

tiny room and bathroom but clean and serene. decent price on its class. location a bit hidden. but close to mtr stn causeway bay. lots of food nearby. fast check-in and check out. would like to stay again on my next visit.

"Horrible service and dirty rooms"
Smo1984, 07 Novembre 2016

My wife and daughter arrived 6 hours before me at midday as my plane was delayed. The staff would not let them check in and were very rude, even to my two year old daughter whilst she was playing in the lobby :( the rooms are tiny, old, dirty, noisy and they smell. Please do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

"Great location in Causeway Bay"
antichris, 30 Octobre 2016

The location of this hotel is great for exploring Causeway Bay. My room was the smallest room I've stayed in ever, and expensive for the size. The staff were very friendly. If you're desparate to find a hotel room (which I was since the city was closed down for a typhoon), this hotel is fine for a night. I wouldn't recommend staying here otherwise, unless you comfortable sleeping in very small spaces.

"Great location, small rooms and average breakfast"
wooharty, 24 Octobre 2016

Can't really compare to other hotels in Hong Kong as it was my first time there but we had a twin room which barely had enough rooms to put 2 suitcases down. Shower/toilet is small as well; however it is in a great location as I really enjoyed HK island plus there are a couple of great local seafood restautrants just down the road. Buffet breakfast was a bit disappointing too. Would probably stay there again just for the location.

"Business Trip"
marcello2188, 20 Octobre 2016

Not value for money, room are exceptional small and the cleanliness is below expectation. Lobby was cramp and there is no clear queue line for checking in or out. While you are on queue, there are lots of people just approached the receptionist for numerous reason thus the waiting time are long. Nothing much to talk about but they served a decent breakfast which was outsourced to a Japanese Restaurant within the building itself. Location wise is the only thing you can look forward as it was close to MTR and withing walking distance for foods and shopping at CWB.

"Crazy views from the top..."
Leah H, 20 Octobre 2016

We were surprised by the amazing room we got.... on the top (39th) floor there are about 4 rooms as well as a little hotel plunge pool. Apart from the insane views over the Island skyline we also really enjoyed the room. It is very small but had absolutely all we wanted for a night.......even a jacuzzi!

"Reason why I carry a small bottle of alcohol"
lipoahawaii, 17 Octobre 2016

Pro: By HK standard, the size of the room is adequate. Location wise: Its actually a nice location in terns of variety--you get to be within walking distance of the high end stores (Times Square) but the flexibility of having an outdoor market for cheaper fare..so in a way it is best of both world. MTR and bus stops are walking distance but the hotel itself it located in an alley. The free shuttle buses of airport express doesn't go through this part. I like the open market and small restaurants around the area..feels authentic HK If you don't like a smoking floor, you have got to ask them. I kept forgetting that HK still has smoking floors and the thing is, staff do not ask for your preference. So we got stuck in a smoking floor and was too tired to ask to be moved. Bathroom - it has a small tub which is great. However the water closet is located in a very tight space..so may be an issue for some people. I always carry a small bottle of disinfectant for emergencies..and this time I had to make good use of it. The water closet (toilet) smells like urine. It seemed clean, but the smell suggests otherwise. One inconvenient feature of this hotel is the fact that the lobby is at the 3rd floor, which meant you need to take an elevator to the 3rd floor and transfer to another elevator to get to the rooms...So during peak hours you need to wait for 2 elevators.

"Disappointing property - dont waste your time here!"
Kankana, 16 Octobre 2016

Booked this property due to its location - but don't fall for this trap. Huge mistake - realized the moment we walked into the entrance, which was from a back alley. The reception is up on the third floor. Rooms are really tiny, they don't have any moving space, especially if you are two people. All room amenities are on the window ledge.. not even a desk to keep the water heater, and tea/coffee stuff. We were so disappointed at what we saw that we forfeited our deposit amount for the night, and made a run out of the front doors. Thankfully, got another reservation at a good hotel. I am not really a luxury traveler myself, and don't mind a great bargain at the hotels I am booking, but not at the cost of basic comfort or satisfaction. But I guess, to each their own! It is really a budget hotel - meant for those who only need a place to crash for the night, don't expect to have a comfortable stay if you decided to go with it.

Jan H, 14 Octobre 2016

Coming to HK for many years and tried Best Western for first time. We could barely get the suitcase in the room. Then we couldnt get into room as the key wouldnt work. They said try coin!!!!. What did we pay HK $1000 for???? Never again. Back to Butterfly.

"Budget hotel with good location"
adwangliang, 12 Octobre 2016

It's location is quite good - 5 mins walk from Causeway Bay shopping area. Recption is on 3F. It has a tiny room, tiny bathroom and almost nowhere to sit except the bed. The mini desk is not working at night without light. Merely OK for a sleepover.

"Disappointment for a foreign BW"
Ternosky, 08 Octobre 2016

From the garage-like entrance to a wonky WIFI connection, this property is just mediocre. Tiny fridge that hardy works, limited TV channels with poor reception, hooks rather than a wardrobe; I could go on and this was supposedly a deluxe room. Sad to say this about a BW.

"Best Western, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong"
Erik H, 28 Septembre 2016

The first thing you should know is that the rooms are very small compared to normal hotel rooms. The bed takes up to 70% of the room. This should give you an idea of how small that is. The hotel can be a bit tricky to get to as well. If you have large or heavy suitcases, please insist that your taxi drive drop you at the entrance! This is because the the entrance is in 2 alley ways with the lobby being upstairs on the 3rd floor.

"Horrible hotel"
aaa956a, 26 Septembre 2016

Even with a cheap deal under hkd500 a night it is not worth it. -rude staff at check in. Simply asking for a non smoking room trigger a "we are very busy ah cannot" and a huff and a puff. I know HK is not known for its hospitality and service but come on you work in a hotel. -room dirty, bathroom mouldy. -room size is small even for HK. -bed horrible. Literally sink into it and feel the springs in your back. They really need replacing now. -location is in a dirty alley. -hotel appears to be used by ladies of the night.

"Compact Rooms"
Dilkush U, 26 Septembre 2016

The hotel is good. But very very small rooms, which I understood that's the style of Hong Kong. I found difficult to stay many days as the rooms are very small. Location of the hotel not very satisfactory but although its it. One side of this location is good. We enjoyed most of our meals in a Thai Restaurant down town.

"Don't go to this hotel!"
Pastali, 23 Septembre 2016

Super small rooms, no space to walk or to put suitcases in room. Staff don't care! And do not speak English. Worst bathroom ever, It's not a hotel maybe a hostel!! Expensive you can find better price in Hong Kong.

"Great Views"
Nulmer, 23 Septembre 2016

Made my reservation for two nights, arrived, asked for an upgrade, ended up on the top floor in one of the special rooms with an amazing view. The Bali room on the roof is probably the best room in the whole hotel. In my experience, I had good service, despite some of the reviews. I did have a bit of a hiccup in trying to pay - as I had been told on the phone one way and prepared to pay in an uncommon manner, only to have to make a few phone calls to arrive at a different option than planned. But that was made up for in the location and the quality of the room I stayed in.

"Great Location, nice stay!"
IHeise14, 18 Septembre 2016

We stayed two nights here during our stay in Hong Kong. We had a smooth check in, and all the staff we very polite and helpful. The room was small, but that's to be expected considering the location. The view was fantastic. Very close to things and easy to get to transportation. Would stay here again.

"Terrible Staff Worst Experience Ever!"
Ike N, 08 Septembre 2016

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in all my years of traveling. After a very long day of flying I just wanted to check in my room and sleep. I was informed by the staff that I could not check-in because one letter of my name was misspelled and I would have to call my booking agent to change the reservation or lose the prepaid room, even though I gave them my passport, drivers license, and credit card used to book the room!! I couldn't believe my ears after arguing for one hour and calling the booking agent overseas at my own expense the staff finally let me in my room which was old, very small, not cleaned well, and smelled of cigarettes even though the room was nonsmoking! I called the staff for assistance and they couldn't have been less helpful and downright nasty. I can't believe a hotel chain would employee such rude and disrespectful staff. This was a complete nightmare. Never again!!

"Bad hotel"
Harvin D, 05 Septembre 2016

First the reception got bad attitude Second already tell them to clean up the room, but they not clean it at all The springbed is like trampoline the peer are broke Is this best western hotel? Sorry for bad grammar,u all have to think twice for stay at this hotel

"Nice hotel, very clean and pleasant stay"
Raaaz, 31 Août 2016

Stayed there with my wife for one day. It was a very pleasant hotel, staff was a bit slow towards checkin, but they finally managed to give us a room. The rooms are very small, and seemed as if they for just travelers.

"Value for Money"
Nirojay, 29 Août 2016

Great location, close to time square for shopping, the room was clean and comfy bed, room was small and barely two people can manage. The ground floor front office staff was not energetic and helpful.but room service staff was good and quick to response.

"value for money, swimming pool"
neynavip, 20 Août 2016

Location is great, just walking distance to causeway bay where you can do shopping etc. Room is small and a bit old. Lower floors don't have good view. Has all the necessary amenities like kettle, coffee, hair dryer etc. Swimming pool is nice though.

"Good value for money, perfect location"
Dreamgirl_1253, 07 Août 2016

The room is quite small, but all budget hotels in Hong Kong do have small rooms. It is near the Causeway MTR station, near the shopping places like Times Square, Sogo. There are many good eating places nearby - you can choose from the cheap HK noodle restaurants or those in the malls. I ate at Ippudo the last two times I was in HK. It is walking distance to Ikea at Park Lane. From the airport, you can take the Cityfyer bus A11 and get off at Stop #12. A bit if a warning : the hotel collects HK$500 as deposit upon check-in, but you get it back upon check-out. They offered to charge the deposit to our credit card, which they said would be credited back in a few "weeks". We thought it less complicated to pay the deposit in cash.

"Value for money"
derick n, 04 Août 2016

The hotel does what it promises to do which is value for money, rooms are clean and neat and housekeeping always on time, check in was flawless and quick by english speaking staff who I found a great help.Rooms are rather dated but if on a budget they will do hotel in a rather nice part of town near mtr station and bus routes there are cheaper places but not for the location and safety factor, cant say much about meals I chose to eat out always plenty street stalls and restaurants around the area.

"good location . might be over priced"
Udara R, 03 Août 2016

The location is the main benefit you get if you stay in this hotel. the room i stay is very small. but good quality . daily breakfast is average . but their service is very good . i believe this hotel is not worth for the money you paid. but according to the country the price may acceptable

"Good location with great value"
Adelina G, 27 Juillet 2016

Stayed for 4 nights in the hotel. The hotel is located at the back lane of the road. If you take a bus (A11) from the airport, stopped at the fire station of Wan Chai and walked approximately 10 min from Hennessy road, you will find the signboard at the end of the junction. Turn right, you will see the hotel entrance and the concierge at level 1. Take a lift up to level 3 where the reception located and we completed our check-in process within 10 min. Took another lift go to our room located on high floor. Prior to arrival, I had made a request for high floor and double bedded. Both request were fulfill with no question ask. The room size was small but just nice for both of us with not much luggage. It came with nice view and has all basic amenities that we need. The bathroom came with long bath which I don't expect to have it. The hotel located in a very strategies place. Just 5 mins from Time Square and MTR station. 10 mins from Causeway Bay Sogo and shopping district. There was a wet market located just right to next to the hotel where you can get very cheap and fresh fruits everyday. A food court located in the building of the wet market selling super delicious roasted meat rice during day time and at night turn into "tai pai tong". Before departure, we met a very helpful bellhop who help us to book a coach back to airport. Staffs of the hotel are nice and helpful. Check-out process was short and sweet, just completed within 2 mins where allowed us to catch our coach on time. Although some bad reviews were written for this property but I would highly recommend this hotel for those traveller who have mid-budget on the accommodation for its service and location. The only bad point of this property was need to take 2 difference lifts before stepped into your room.

"Excellent value"
FnkyChld, 11 Juillet 2016

I rated these guys one star because the wifi signal in my room was weak but it was only in that particular corner room. The rooms facing the city have perfect wifi and the low price of the rooms and excellent Wan Chai location make this hotel a great value.

"Ok room"
Ash N, 31 Mai 2016

Stayed for two days at 36 th floor.the room we stayed was small though we didn't had much expectations and for the price the room is ok.room service is good.May feel congested by seeing the bathroom and bedroom.but we were ok.and hotel lies near to many restaurants and fruit shops.and we had a beautiful view from r room.

"Facilities "
Pierre Z, 22 Mai 2016

Small room no cabinets to hang or lay cloths only a few hangers also no fridge serving as mini bar just a sort of cool box for 3 soft drinks otherwise friendly staff clean room, location is very good. ..close to Time Square and Mtr station Buffet breakfast was ok good for a short stay

"Find somewhere else"
mkayd, 20 Mai 2016

Find somewhere else to stay. This place is a dump. Hot water isn't very hot. Room is about 8 x 8. The bed reaches almost to the wall. Shower is about 4 sq ft. I will never stay at a Best Western again. This is a one star hotel. Not worth more than 35 usd a night.

"Boutique hotel"
Arnold C, 17 Mai 2016

Much like a New Orleans boutique room - small but functional. Decor helps with the smallness of the room but view from 3511 was harbor view as well as CCC club and Happy Valley Racecourse. Very close to MTR and Times Square.

"Very very small room"
MicheldeTournai, 16 Mai 2016

For real the hotel is not worth the price because of very small size of room + huge noise inside and outside the hotel (noise isolation is lousy); service people are not kind at all either Only good point is wanchai location that we appreciated much :-) But still not worth the price :-(

"Boutique Hotel"
Arnold C, 13 Mai 2016

A very reasonable hotel in Causeway Bay!!!! Small boutique rooms with a New Orleans flavor. A block away fromTimes Square and MTR. Adjacent to wet market for locals. Near Canal Street with many, many restaurants.

"Is this..THAT Best Western Hotel ?"
PaulusPhoek, 05 Mai 2016

Staying at this hotel with other member of delegation from Indonesia for Hong Kong Gift & Premium Fair 2016. The travel organis=zer pick this hotel for the location : near to HKCEC. MTR is 5 minute walk. there are lots of food store, fresh fruit market and other shops. For me it is not the best hotel I've stay in Hongkong. The room is small, even for Hong Kong standard. I've been stay in bigger guest house in TST area. The shower hose is broken, so that the water pouring out from the head shower, also from along the hose. However the room and bathroom is clean enough. Wifi is okay. Breakfast is fair. For 5 days staying the menu is the same : porridge, beans, sallad, and bread. Coffee is to thin. I've stay in some Best Western hotels in Indonesia which is more-more-more better. Well, It's okay for mass-business-travelling anyway :D

"Not for everybody"
BriJanleah, 03 Mai 2016

"Best Western Group-Largest chain in the world"-Ground Floor Advertised.3rd floor sign "Independently owned and managed" i.e. don't expect actual Best western standards. 2 non smoking rooms booked same floor (My daughters room)- Received 1 smoking room and one non smoking room supplied with ashtray!!!! The hotel smelled old and even the so called non smoking floors reeked of cigarettes. Rooms very small and no wardrobe or anything to keep your clothes. Refrigerator was big enough to fit 3 small cans and a packet of M&M,s. Room safe locked once then decided it will stay open for the rest of our stay. Ok bed was knackered and left me with bruises on both hips while sleeping on my side. Tv picture was like a snow storm so did not waste any more time with it. A sheet for curtains that could not be opened to at least let in some light. Bathroom was very tired and quite mouldy in places. So there you have it, spent 4 days there for a birthday treat to go back to HK. I don't recommend this hotel unless you are accustomed to all of the above.

"Internet barely works"
FnkyChld, 10 Avril 2016

Do not stay here if you're traveling for business and need the internet - it barely works. I don't understand how hotels can charge $100 USD a night and not provide a stable internet connection. It's 2016 folks, you need to get this correct. Also the rooms here are tiny and not worth the price. The windows, bathroom, sheets etc are all dirty and dingy. I have pics to prove it as usual. My usual hotel is the IBIS Sheung Wang and I regret not booking it again for this trip just to save $30 a night. For $30 more at the IBIS I could've got a spotless room with wood floors that is 3 times the size, a breathtaking harbor and Kowloon view, very fast internet and cleanliness. I've learned my lesson and won't take another risk again.

"Horrible!"
oksana m, 02 Avril 2016

From reviews read before visit, my friends and I were excited to stay at the hotel as we heard it was a good hotel in an awesome location. Location was incredible. Close to the MTR, Times square, great shopping, happy valley racecourse, just brilliant. However, upon our arrival we were greatly disappointed. Firstly we had been greeted by a Janice L, who seemed like she had been taking a nap in the reception room and who showed us no respect. She was unfriendly, rude and had trouble explaining things to us. She had also, placed 2 couples in two twin rooms and wasn't very cooperative when we asked her to join the beds together. They did such a poor job at putting the beds together that they may as well have kept them apart. Secondly the elevators, reception and rooms were freezing with the air condioner turned up to the coldest temperature. As hong kong was a short stopover before our summer holiday in Vietnam we hadn't packed much warm clothes. The room was so cold that we had to sleep in sweaters and jeans. I had called reception to ask if there were any heaters or extra blankets that could be brought up to which Janice rudely answered "we dont do that, but you would have to call housekeeping" after thanking her and saying "not a problem" she took a deep breath and said "don't worry I'll do it." The blanket took about 1 hour to be brought up. The next day seemed a bit better as there had been two other much, much friendlier staff on duty. I asked for another blanket and they brought up a small heater free of charge. The heater literally saved our lives. We had been greeted by Janice again at check out and she again was rude, unfriendly and uncooperative once again. The hotel itself was small and the bathrooms very tiny. It actually saddens me to write this, as I myself am a travel agent and like to give everyone a chance. I wouldn't normally do this, but the it was an awful experience. Unprofessional service and disppointed in the fact that we had to freeze in our rooms. Will not recommend this hotel to any of my clients.

"Great stay"
J L, 20 Mars 2016

Good location near MTR and centre of Causeway Bay, right by market Street and little streetside food shops. Only a short walk to main shopping and restaurant streets. Good views across city and harbour from the room. Room is small, but very nice, with good facilities and good price.

"Good location and price"
Cortez F, 19 Mars 2016

Stayed for Business trip. Room was small, but it was sufficient for the nature of the trip. Location is also good as it is a 5 minute walk from Times Square and the MTR Station. There was a time that our hallway smelled like cigarettes (despite a non smoking floor) but it cleared out after a few minutes.

"Small rooms but convenient location"
atiqaha5, 13 Mars 2016

We had the sky villa on the highest floor. The tub was awesome and the view was awesome too. The room was small barely had any space to put our luggages. The floor was not carpeted therefore it was cold. The toilet is just a transparent glass so not suitable for everyone.

"Rob&joy in best western hotel causeway bay, before cruise."
Itburrcat, 12 Mars 2016

Room so small, estimate 8 x 8, about to go on a cruise, luggage where does it go ?. Rooms grubby, very cold, circa 58f, no heating, got extra blankets, No wardrobe , 3 hooks on wall. Beds probably left over from prison , hard, creek, uncomfortable. On 35 floor, fire alarm goes off twice in the early hours, scared :you bet:, put cloths on, alarm stops, wait, alarm goes off again, what do you do up here.explanation from staff and management, this can occur because people take baths.(unacceptable explanation on 35 floor). My I add this was a upgraded room I will also be writing to my travel people (adore travel), who put us in here. Greg await my email.

"Keep away!!"
Holmesrobin1981, 05 Mars 2016

The rooms are so small that it will make your dorm room look like a palace. Bed so hard that you you feel like in prison. Bed size is not suitable for any person over 5' 4". There are far better places around for the same price. This place has ruined the Best Western name and I will certainly be never making this mistake again.

"Tiny room"
Bao L, 28 Janvier 2016

I know Hong Kong is famous for small areas but this hotel truly gave the worst and the smallest room I ever had in Hong Kong for a 4 stars. The staff was ok as intentions were there but not competencies. We kindly request the Concierge to call a cab for us, he asked us to go out and find it ourselves. It was not an unexpected behavior coming from hotel staff! The hotel entrance is also very badly located, very dirty and not easy to access. Location itself was great in Causebay Bay, 5 minutes walk from Time Square, very central.

"Good location but cramped space, average service & cockroaches in room!"
mingzy, 10 Janvier 2016

Stayed for 2 nights. We were in HK very early and went to check in, the official check in time is 2pm, I had enquired about earlier check in, they said no, it would be chargeable by another night stay. As we didn't want to carry along out luggage in the day, we went to check in and leave our bags in the concierge first. If booking portals tell you it's 3 min from the Causeway Bay MTR station. Don't believe them. Exit A of causeway bay station towards Time Square has an extremely long spiraling walk. Be prepared to walk at least 10 min (fast walk) just coming up to ground level. Then it's another 10 min from the exit to the hotel. It's quite well located, just go under the flyover , on the left about 5 minutes. In a little alleyway but before that you can see an arrow sign "best western". There's like a wet market selling fresh pork or fruit/veggies just nearby plus eateries and cooked foods. You won't go hungry. It's also very close (all walking distance) to major shopping malls and streets. Pretty good location. The check in is on the 3rd floor. Which is quite a hassle. The service is curt and speed more than courtesy is important to them. Don't expect the concierge or "bell boy" to help you much. After all HK does not practice tipping and it's a cheap hotel. As the concierge told us, carry your bags to your room yourself later when you return and get the room number from the check in counter. Wifi in the hotel is only ok. Quite slow. Sometimes it can't even connect or load pages even though the wifi signal is shown. The room is small. Beds size ok for average sized people. Don't expect any much space for luggage. We brought only small luggage and it's already very cramped. The bathroom is small too. Don't expect to do any major back scrubbing as there's hardly any space to move arms. Just sufficient space for an average build Asian person. I think it might be hard for a Caucasian as generally larger than Asians. It was already cramped for an Asian. The sink was outside the bathroom near the door for my room. Pros and cons about that. But I felt it was ok. Terrible things about The room - IT HAD COCKROACHES!! I killed 2 when I was staying there. One each night. I don't know how many others there are!! We only stayed 2 nights so we didn't want to trouble moving to another room. Also, didn't feel the service would be friendly about this. The first cockroach was killed near the tv area and second one near the bathroom. Argh. The bed is slanting down on the right. Sloping down. I can feel I'm sliding off the bed. Same for the other bed my bro was on. We don't understand why it's slanting but it is!! We were very tired during our HK stay (walking a lot) so we just crashed when back in the hotel. Average rating 'cos it's cheap for its location. If below S$150 you can consider. If above that, forget it, go stay elsewhere. The peak /off-peak seasons and time of booking will affect pricing so choose wisely!

"Good surprise"
Patricia M, 25 Décembre 2015

After we booked with the Best Western Hotel Causeway bay, I read so many bad reviews about it, that I regretted have taken the risk ( we booked non refundable room ). But we got a really good surprise, they upgraded us, and all what we asked we got( higher floor, non smoking, double bed). The weak point of the hotel is the breakfast. The dining room is not very pleasant and the choice was not great. Hope they will improve.

"best western causeway bay - great location and reasonably priced"
crhontrips, 18 Décembre 2015

though the room is small, it is ideal for a traveller who stays in the room the night only. location to convention and exhibition centre makes it ideal to those who have business there or near Central..

"a room with a view"
Artur G, 16 Décembre 2015

best western causeway bay seems to be typical mid-range HK hotel; good enough, I think, for a few days stay, like in my case. I decided to stay there, and choosed this particular hotel from lots of other similiar, mostly beacuse I guessed its location would better fit my plans and also I found a good deal for a upper floor room with breakfast. Having arrived I received exactly what I was looking for - decent "base camp" for exploring the metropolis big pros: - convieniently located in a busy downtown disctrict; trams and subway within a 5-min walk - nice views of the city from the upper floors - clean and not so aged furnishings minor cons: - tiny rooms - awfully noisy AC (at least in my room, earplugs a must-have) - basic breakfast - basic / cheap taste furnishings - entrance in a smelly back alley

"Best Western A Comfortable Stay"
michael755, 14 Décembre 2015

We stayed four nights in December and found the hotel to be quite all right. A basic room, clean and comfortable but very small. The location is fantastic, close to everything in Causeway Bay and a 10 min walk to the metro. Good value for the money. The only drawback were the hotel staff (don't expect any service with a smile) and the free breakfast (yuk). But, well worth the money for the location.

"Not the best stay in HK"
bob a, 14 Décembre 2015

rooms are a bit cramped with no shelving for baggage. Had to leave that on what little floor space there was. The food on offer was terrible. Synthetic sausage meat, runny scrambled egg, everything was on the cold side, servers were empty on both visits, had to wait for refills, kept running out of food quickly, only orange juice available nothing else. There are much better hotels around for the same price.

"Great Location, Bang Average Hotel "
Akie_11, 04 Décembre 2015

So first to the positives - Great Location - Hotel is in the Wan Chai district close to Times Square Hong Kong which is cool! Wifi is fast and easy to use, Hotel has a concierge facility and an easy check in. Now to the negatives - Hotel's flyer is basically a garments factory or run down apartment building so when you get to the hotel you think you're at a dump, the hotel rooms are very very small, if you're a tall semi muscular adult the shower will be impossible to navigate around and the room cannot be more than 15 square meters, I got stuck in the lift for around 45mins so that is a major concern, Hotel charges a 500 dollar deposit which no one tells you about when you're booking and lastly the view from the 16th floor is non existent - you basically pay to see the back of run down apartment buildings. Being said - this hotel is apparently cheaper than the ones around it or in the area. So if you're not a fussy tourist and just care about the location - you have a winner. Or else - look at some other options Being said this is Asia so your chances of finding a Western hotel are minimal from the word go

"BestWestern at Causeway Bay Hong Kong"
muffy168, 25 Novembre 2015

It is a good Tourist Hotel in a very noted busy location. Dollar for dollar, though the room is small but it is considered it's kind of self-contained and efficient. I surely would recommend my friends to stay in future.

"Some problems but overall very decent."
TwirlyGirl88, 22 Novembre 2015

First room we were given smelled smoky (even though on a non-smoking floor) and had a moldy shower curtain. Second room we were given was much better, though it had two twin beds they pushed together instead of a double, but then when we went to freshen up found that the sink did not have any hot running water. After that was resolved (fairly promptly) things were fine...until the next night when the WiFi for the hotel stopped working for an entire evening. If it was just one of these things I would chalk it up as a slight annoyance or inconvenience but with one thing after another my husband and I started noticing all sorts of issues. The fan(s) in the bathrooms are extremely loud, even when everything else is turned off, there is no way to turn the bathroom fan off. The hallways and the lifts are extremely muggy and not climate-controlled, which feels cheap. The beds we had were lumpy and sunken in. And it is not the most convenient location to get to from the China Ferry Terminal (ferries serving Mainland), it takes 2 buses with a 15 minute walk in between to transfer...not easy with all our luggage plus up and down several sets of stairs too. But happily, it is only a short walk to the airport bus, the A11 is about a 6 minute walk away and only costs $40HKD (approximately $5USD). The good stuff is that the location is great otherwise! We had some great views out our window, we could even see the harbour from our room. The staff at the hotel are friendly and work hard to be helpful. And there's tons of stuff right outside the door to do, see, buy, and eat. It's right near several tram stops and the trams are a fun, cheap source of transportation. One of HK's great cooked food markets, Bowrington Food Market, is steps away (walk down the street, ignore all the hawkers pressuring you to eat at their place, walk into the market building, take the lift to the 2nd floor and step out into the chaos) and serves food daily from 10am-2am. Shopping ranging from the high-end to discount, boutique to indie to chain, are all within a 10 minute walk or less. The Metro could be a bit closer but it's within a reasonable distance. Overall, the lodgings came in as a solid B but with a little more attention to the facilities and services it could easily earn an A.

"claustrofobic? then dont book this one"
PaulZ z, 21 Novembre 2015

This is a fine hotel, with reception @ floor 3 and a further 37 floors of functional but very very tiny rooms. Everything is in these rooms, but if you need space, this one might put you to the test. Housekeeping is friendly and speak English, rooms are clean and tidy, absolutely not noisy. In short, perfect place for a 1-2 night stay. Advice: breakfast? Try outside in one of the many coffee shops in the area. ideal place for bookings under HKK 950/night.

"Avoid"
Circa65, 15 Novembre 2015

Had a superior room. Superior to what? Under the freeway? Tiny and i mean tiny. Barely room for 2 peoples carry on luggage. Bathroom ridiculous ly small. I know HK is crowded but this place claiming the prices they do is theft. I wonder if BW know how bad their name is tarnished by this place? Positves were a fast wifi which was shocking to say the least. It broke down on the 2nd night and i unformed the front desk to be told that it was a provider fault. To her credit, she phoned back a few hours later to say it was back on so i give some credit for this but no way would i EVER go back.

"Life Lesson"
Matt B, 13 Novembre 2015

MFW... trip advisor reviews are so so bad and your company travel website says this is the only hotel you can book due to cost level and you don't solicit the next spending level... Life lesson. This place is as bad as a roadside JinJiang inn in rural Wuhu China. Nonfunctional space besides bed. Bed is acceptably comfortable. Aircon works okay. Location is actually a positive. The hotel absolutely gives off a nasty sticky seedy old-sweat hasn't-been-scrubbed don't-worry-breakfast-is-only-$5 kind of vibe. I don't like giving weak or poor reviews but this place is powerfully substandard -- made painfully more so when the concur booking rate is factored in.

"Worst best western ever"
FedericoCasaletti, 11 Novembre 2015

Do not go here, the concierge is so rude. The room is too small and the elevator system is too slow, every morning more then 5 minutes for going down to the ground floor. But the worst thing, as I already wrote, is the rudeness of the concierge. Not a 4 star hotel at all!

"Tiniest hotel Rm I ever saw"
Irenegirl5, 11 Novembre 2015

Good location, but room tinier than in Tokyo, no room for a closet, only 1 hanger each on a hook. Space under the bed for a suitcase. Says non smoking but ashtray in the rm. Breakfast limited but dining staff wonderful and theylet us bring own fruit from the market. (No room for fruit eating in the room!) It's functional if you don't spend much time in your rm and don't have much luggage.

"Dreadful"
Chris B, 20 Octobre 2015

It was booked by a travel agent and prepaid otherwise we would have left. Intermittent Wi-Fi, no bedside lights. Very small room. Needed to keep toilet for open a strange clear glass window into the ensuite bathroom. Poor advise from concierge. Breakfast is odd. Difficult to think of any redeeming features. Good view from the roof top .

"Below best western standard"
Davide D, 17 Octobre 2015

Good location, Not far from subway. This hotel is maybe Good enough for tourist stay but below best western standards. Staff Not really helpful and rooms are super tiny. Breakfast is a bit poor. Overall medium hotel, normally Best westerns are high-level.

"Perfect location and price-worthy quality"
Macy1328, 13 Octobre 2015

I chose this hotel because it's a chain hotel and the location is in downtown Causeway Bay, and of course for the cheap price. I stayed for 3 nights and only booked 2 weeks before my trip. I asked for a room in a higher floor wishing to take a better look of HK and the concierge was friendly and generous to upgrade my room to their highest floor. Some complaint about the room size, but c'mon it is HK, the space is more expensive than gold. If you give bananas you can only hire monkeys. know what i am saying? So I hv been prepared to see a small room. But the bed and pillow were comfortable to me. The hot water was hot enough and strong enough. The night view from the highest floor is astonished. Wifi is free and fast. Concierge staffs were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend people who travels alone or backpackers to stay here. But if you are traveling with your family, especially with elders or children, pls pay more to stay at a better, bigger hotel. Do not hold the unrealistic expectations.

"Worst hotel in town!!!"
Berto0273, 12 Octobre 2015

I have done a big mistake to book this hotel. It's really old, rooms are so small that you can not even stay inside with one luggage...I have booked a so called "superior room city view" and has nothing superior nor city view. Avoid it as hell!!!

"If not for a great deal, better stay somewhere else"
smolyany, 09 Octobre 2015

Checked out from some other hotel, went to the airport, but could not travel back home the same day. So had to book an additional night. Was looking for something more affordable than my previous shelter. And I found an excellent deal on some other source. That's how I ended up at this hotel. Arrival experience left much to be desired. Did not get king size bed (it's fine though). I was even informed about it. I still got my non-smoking room (it's kinda important). When I entered the room I realized I was given an accessible room (no mention about it at check-in). I was fine with shower, but not with wash basin. You see, I'm a tall fellow, and the wash basin was set on my knee level, haha. But again, I was there for like 10 hrs, so it's okay. That was the smallest room I have ever stayed at. I usually prefer IHG or Accor hotels, it was my first experience with BEST WESTERN. The linen wasn't the whitest as well, although obviously clean. The AC seemed to be a bit noisy, but I was too tired to pay attention to it, haha. It's also kinda odd that you need to change elevators in order to get from ground level to your room's floor. Never seen this kind of arrangement before. Although the impression is rather negative, still kudos for Front Desk staff for being polite and helpful. I'm just happy I got a great bargain, otherwise I'd be pissed, true story.

"Great bargain for the price!"
Cynthia R, 03 Octobre 2015

Decent location, nice lobby and great view from our room on the 31st floor. Perfect place to stay if you only need a night or two in HK. Otherwise, you may begin to feel a bit claustrophobic. But it is a good value for what you pay.

"Go somewhere else"
nick_r_vargas, 29 Septembre 2015

First let me start by saying you are better off going somewhere else. We asked for a non smoking room and floor. We were meet in the room by a cleaner spraying the room down with air freshener and an ash tray on the bed side table. The bed was horrible and the shower did not drain. We called down to the front desk for multi things an ironing board that never came and toilet paper which took almost 40 minutes. No one seemed to like there job. The price might look good on the internet but just spend the extra bucks and go somewhere nicer.

"Check this hotel and compare with others. "
Jenny L, 26 Septembre 2015

We had a four night stay here in September 2015. Hong Kong is particularly humid. I feel that there were a couple of positives..1. We arrived quite early, i.e 7.45am. We were checked in and only waited till 10.00, definitely a big thank you for that. 2. The staff other than the desk staff, i.e concierge , breakfast man and cleaners were all very pleasant and helpful. That's it....I am disappointed that Best western is affiliated with this hotel. I was warned that space would be at a premium, however here it is too the extreme....our room on the 28th floor, had two beds filing the room. No table, no chair, no cupboard! Really small bathroom but serviceable enough. No room to put your suitcases. One little bedside table between the beds. Hate to say it the room was musty, dated and the mattresses were in all honesty the worst myself and husband have ever slept on..or tried to sleep. There were springs digging in to back and hips, roll over and nearly fall out because of the softness. The springs made an horrendous sound when you rolled over, like groaning and pinging. This room could be delightful..it just needs a new double bed ensemble with little tables on either side..perfect! I heard a lot of other complaints too. Also if you are considering breakfast, for $HK110 you can do better just down the street. The breakfast was lack lustre, boring and tasteless. The tea was pretty good though. I read that a lot of people said good location, I am not so sure, yes it is in a very busy market district with loads of buses nearby, but the MTR is a bit if a way down through a very upmarket and huge shopping complex..Times Square. The Jacuzzi is a little pool on the 39th level that gives great views of Hong Kong but that's it. We managed to get used to our little room, but many times I thought about and looked up other places, but they were expensive, so I guess if you go to this place with some knowledge you will not be shocked. The Lobby enters from a very ugly lane way ..lots of rubbish and trucks loading etc. but around the corner there are markets and some local restaurants. The Hong Kong people are very polite and orderly. We did have a good time out and about, and if our room and or bed was a better it would have been perfect.

first time i book online @ booking.com n everything seem ok until we arrive @ best western counter, the lady was not accomodating as if she is in a hurry to send us off 2nd all the request i ask were not met like the higher floor and non smoking room and the flower i expect for my wife as we are celebrating our 35th yrs. nobody take us to our room even, very poor service.the only thing that make us stay is the housekeeping lady,we have a fresh towel everyday n clean bathroom n bottled water....im happy with her,and thankful. im a best western card member but this time i will never stay in any best western hongkong.

"Average hotel, good price for HK."
allie1904, 10 Septembre 2015

We stayed here for two nights with our 6 month old baby. The room was small but we had booked a small room so it was to be expected. It was mainly bed with some floor space. There was a few places to put our luggage but we travel light. It had a kettle, drinking water, safe and toiletries as well as in room WiFi. We stayed in room 3709 and the view was amazing. We used the jacuzzi on the roof one evening which was lovely to unwind in after a day of sight seeing. Yes the entrance was on a back alley but it came alive into markets and restaurants at 5pm which we found nice. It was close to times square which has an entrance to causeway bay Mrt. My only major concern was the window pane between the bedroom and the bathroom. I mean is that really necessary to have to watch someone showering?
