« A safe and comfortable place in the middle of no where »

If you find yourself in Hollister and need a very comfortable bed to sleep away your troubles, this is the answer. The only issue I had were the bagels were not fresh in the morning but beyond that it's quite a comfy spot.

    « Comfortable and convenient »

We needed a hotel room under emergency circumstances and could not have been more satisfied with the level of service and quality of the stay. The Front Desk staff were amazingly accommodating. The room was clean and had all of the necessary amenities that we needed.

    « hollister stay »

upon check in the staff was already remarkable, I even received a call once I was in the room checking on my satisfaction of the room. The amazing customer service was extended to everyone who encountered any staff member.

« Top of the Line Room and Service »

Room was very clean front desk very Professional Very nice place to stay if you are in Hollister,CA definity I will back to this place on my next trip to the Hollister, breakfast was good and different items on the menu very clean place

« friendly staff, clean and convenient location »

very comfy king bed in ground floor with large bathroom for wheelchairs. Fridge in room was a little noisy but we pulled the plug and slept very well. make your own waffle & yogurt bar for breakfast was a fun treat for adult and kids.

    « New hotel »

The hotel was very new and had a nice pool. The staff were over the top with their willingness to make our stay enjoyable. They recommended a great restaurant where we had a huge steak. They provided us with paper plate, etc. so we could eat our leftovers the next evening.

    « Very friendly staff »

There really didn't seem anywhere else in Hollister we would want to stay. It was a nice hotel, quite modern. I would say that the staff here are the friendliest we have ever come across and the most helpful. We had a problem the first night (of three) when we were woken at 3 am by a dreadful noise. The young lady on duty didn't know what it was but turned something off in the maintenance room which was next door to our room and then all was quiet. Being concerned it might happen again the next night we asked if we could move. The young lady on the desk, Judith, went out of her way to find us another room, even went and cleaned it herself so that we could move our things straight in before spending the day at Pinnacles NP. Breakfast was extremely good, they seemed to have everything and two lovely young ladies, Vanessa and Sophie I believe who looked after it with cheerful faces and efficiency. I'm not sure if it is some cleaner they use to wash the bathroom floor tiles that leaves a residue but we found in both rooms that the floor was sticky.

« Great Place to Stay! »

Very nice staff, very safe area, QUIET well built for noise control, Clean, Comfy, I have stayed there 3 yrs in a row for work, even price was good, only thing missing is a hot tub that I would enjoy after work, but has a pool, I stay at alot of hotels, this one tops them!

    « okay »

great service, but room smelled like cigarette smoke, to the point it burned my noise and made it very uncomfortable. i complained about it twice once at check in once at 2 AM. They tried to switch rooms at 2 am but i was not having it. staff Should of switched my room the first time around

    « Good Sleep/Tasty Breakfast »

I was concerned about noise from nearby traffic but it wasn't an issue. I found the bed to be comfortable and I slept very well. The complimentary breakfast had a good assortment of options. From beginning to end the staff was friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again.

    « Ok but...... »

I stay in a lot of best westerns, like their points program and hotels are usually above average. Here in Hollister, perfectly fine except for the homeless guy in the stairwell at 530 am. No security and no one in the office for checkout. Won't be back there anytime soon.

« Pleasant Surprise in Rural USA »

Property and rooms recently remodeled - very attractively done. Breakfast includes hot items - waffles and eggs/bacon. Very attentive/helpful staff. Soundproofing done on the rooms, but best to be on the north/pool side of the property for quietest rooms.

« Great price and friendly staff »

This is by far the best value for a hotel in the area. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms are average. They are clean, and have a strong cleaning product smell. The breakfast was great, though the eating area was one of the smallest I've ever seen. My only real complaint was that the pool was too cold to swim in and there was no hot tub.

« Home away from home »

The Best Western San Benito in, in Hollister, is one of the friendliest motels I've ever stayed in. I was traveling alone when I stayed there, and every employee of the motel was friendly and kind. My room was clean, comfortable, and attractive. The breakfast was more than ample, with many food choices. I had several enjoyable conversations with staff during my stay.

    « server »

The host at the breakfast was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure we all left satisfied.. we all did and our youth boxers were great appreciated and happy.. this is what we strive for.

Everything about this hotel was excellent; e.g., the cleanliness and order of the rooms, the breakfast offered, and especially the staff. Wanita worked the front desk and never stopped during the time my friend and I played cards in the breakfast area. She was delightful while dealing with checking guests in, checking guests out, fielding complaints, answering phones, and making people comfortable in general. She was the best.

    « loved the service »

will book on my next trip. the person at the costumer service desk was nice and will always ask if we needed anything. the crew was kind always saying hello and that's something they never do at other hotels.

    « Very good hotel »

Very good hotel, nice carpet, breakfast and very good service. Always charming to be at this hotel and folks are really doing what it take to get it better. Service, internet has been good and things have really improved. Folks should plan to stay at this hotel when in the area

    « Solid choice for a lower-range price budget »

There are a number of things I like about this hotel. First is the location. If you want to be in Hollister, you are about 10-15 minutes from most places in town. The rooms are well laid out and functional. the bath tub has a high shower head which I like even though I'm short. The shower/tub is a good size and laid out nicely with appropriately placed shelves for shampoo and soap. By the way, I'm amazed at some of the showers I've been in over the years. Who figured out where to put the shelves/holders in the stall? Someone drunk? or only two and a half feet tall? The staff is friendly and service oriented. Everything looks pretty clean. They have a free breakfast which is pretty standard for the free breakfasts at hotels. As usual, there is not enough seating in the breakfast area which seems common at even more expensive hotels. The biggest negative is that the towels and wash clothes are of pretty low quality, thin and rough. Either low quality, or good quality but they actually wash them on rocks down on the riverside. But wait, there is no river close so, maybe they just wash them on a scrub board with lye soap the way my grandmother did, God rest her soul. Ok, actually, I don't know she did that but she said she did. They have smoking rooms. So, if you are in one and you get the great lingering scent of a Fuente Hemingway cigar, then you are in the room where I wrote this review. Hey, you have to have an indulgence even on a budget. I recommend asking for a 2nd floor room on the pool side of the building if you want the quietest part of the hotel at night.

    « Clean, No Elevator »

It was an OK room. It shows its age. Clean, just fine, and convenient location. Breakfast is make your own waffle, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, cereals, bagels, muffins, toast. If you're on the second floor and have heavy luggage, beware. They said it's possible to request a first-floor room, which I would advise.

« Clean, but nothing fancy... some road noise »

Happened to be here during the Hollister independence motorcylce rally. The room was clean, but dated. Nothing fancy. Easy to find and pleasant staff. Rooms on the Highway 25 side of the building can be noisy... it was especially the case during the weekend of the motorcycle rally, as everyone took off from the nearby intersection.

    « Good Customer Service »

My sister and I were driving 6 hours from Los Angeles to Hollister attending an old friend son wedding. We arrived at 11:30 am but the check in time is 1:00 pm. We were tired and has to get ready for the wedding. The Manager tried her best to get us the first cleaned room within 15 minutes. The room is clean and comfortable. The internet is efficient. We had a wonderful stay.

Overall satisfaction, EXCELLENT! Highly recommended! Went out for the Independence Rally and had a great time! No problems when we checked in we were greeted by a kind and friendly staff, and by our name Mr. and Ms. Reyes due to we made our reservation weeks before. Wish made us feel very welcomed! The staff was cheerful and offered their help from beginning to the end of our stay! The breakfast area was clean and fully stocked. Could not have booked at a better hotel.

    « Only fine »

The bed was comfortable and there was a pool. It was also located on the outside of town & had a nice view of the hills, however that is about where the positive ends. We needed to print something & the desk staff was unable to print something for me, but offered a guest computer & printer. After about 20 minutes of trying, I had only succeeded in opening my e-mail. The computer was slow, was asking to be updated, & was nearly impossible to use. My husband ended up spending half an hour messing with it to try & get the document printed. Breakfast the next morning was fine, however my husband was excited to see a nice coffee maker with different options only to find that it too was not working. They did have regular drip coffee, which sufficed, but why have an impressive coffee maker if it doesn't work? Stay here if you need a place to sleep, but don't expect a whole lot of frills.

    « Dirty and Noisy »

Hotel was dirty and noisy. Sheets had long black stains on them that would have been impossible for any maid to miss. Several of the towels had stains as well, and there were hairs on the towels and in the shower. The traffic noise was terrible, the hotel sits on a highway and the rooms have no soundproofing we were woken up at 6 AM by traffic and could not go back to sleep. At check in the employee barely acknowledged my existence, she appeared to be on a personal call.

    « Summary »

Already reviewed this hotel . A follow up . At my age & day and age , I am about service ! Means quite a bit as much as cleanliness and price . Well the morning attendee " Judith " was quite helpful . Any questions , needs or concerns Judith will seemingly go out of her way to accommodate . Breakfast a bit short on some goodies and she was right on it ! Service is what I hold high , thank you Judith .

    « Dirty »

Dirty room...Wouldn't stay here again. Brown streaks on the sheets...I think they tried to hide them with the pillows. Hair on the bathroom floor and shower. Soap scum in the shower. Something red on the hand towel. The towels were dingy & rough. Layer of dust on the coffee maker. We stay at Best Western's all of the time & this one was disappointing.

    « Nice Room, Stayed 2 Nights »

We found room to be large, clean, and very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. Close to good restaurants and fun recreation. Hollister Hills is about 18 min. drive and San Juan Bautista is about 15 min. away. Nice location. It is off the freeway, but traffic was quiet at night. I am sensitive to sound and am a light sleeper, but didn't have any problems sleeping at all. My only disappointment was no coffee/tea to greet you in lobby like most BW locations and weekend breakfast ended at 9am which is too early in my opinion, we just missed yummy BW waffles when we went down just after 9am.

    « Typical Best Western »

No frills, no fuss. Decent place to stay in convenient location. Not many places to choose from, unfortunately. The rooms are a bit dated. The bathroom could have been cleaner. It was relatively quiet, considering the motel is located near a busy street. They offer a continental breakfast but I did not try it. It is only until 9:00, which is early for a weekend, in my opinion.

    « Great value »

This hotel met all my main criteria of clean, quiet, safe. There was some traffic noise and it is located on a major intersection but it wasn't too bad. Room was spotless, staff were pleasant. It was great having a microwave and fridge in the room. The wifi worked really well. The only knock on the place was that the hot water was set way too scaldingly high and the shower control didn't work well - there seemd no way to regulate the temperature between scalding and icy. No way to mix the two by taking a bath, either, as the bathtub had no plug, When we asked for one at the front desk they told us to go buy one.

    « Standard motel »

Honestly, nothing stood out about this hotel, but that was fine. We were looking for a clean place in Hollister that didn't cost too much, and we found it. We needed a hotel close to Pinnacles National Park, and this was about as close as we could get. Plus, the drive from the hotel to the park is gorgeous!

    « Very Noisy Hotel »

The quality of the hotel is descent, price not bad. Don't expect to get a good night sleep do to the location, you hear every car, motor cycle, & ambulance/fire trucks. The hotel needs to upgrade the windows to minimize noise. My husband is a heavy sleeper and he couldn't even sleep through all the noise.

« Surprisingly quiet night and pleasant room »

A friend and I shared a two-queen-bed room on Monday night recently and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and pleasant the room was. We stayed in Room 222. It had all the amenities you would expect, including fridge, microwave, and small coffee machine. We found it clean, lighting was fine, and there were plenty of surfaces for our things, including one luggage rack. The room was not spacious, but for us that didn't matter as we only needed a good night's sleep and a shower. Water pressure was fine, everything worked, and check-out was quick and easy. It was a non-smoking room and smelled fine - no heavy odors from cleaning products or sprays. There was free Wi-fi, which worked well. The desk clerks were friendly and efficient. We did not use heat or AC, so can't comment on that. The breakfast was not the best ever (green bananas, strangely plastic-like scrambled eggs), but there were enough choices to find something adequate to get going on the day.

    « Not Again »

Even though this place has been updated a few years ago, it still needs a lot. There were silverfish in the tub for 2 nights. The cleaning staff didn't clean the room after our first night stay. When we called the front desk, they did bring up cleans towels. Our room was clean after that. The bed was comfortable but one side was noisy. There was lots of traffic noise until about 9 and then it did get quite.

« Are experience at a very good hotel »

We had a very nice experience at this hotel in Hollister, CA. The other on in Hollister called Cinderella very bad management... No Bueno. The management was very nice and let us register early as we had a family function to be at at 1pm.

    « $100 a night a budget hotel? OK.... »

This hotel is as basic as can be. It is dated, the lobby is very small and the breakfast is... well, something you'll likely skip. No service in the morning, dirty tables, very limited selection of items, etc. etc. etc. I wish I knew how much better you can do in Hollister - if you are heading this way, I'd look elsewhere, and perhaps have more luck.

« Good option in the area »

While the cost of this particular hotel was more than I expected, the other acomodations in the area were equally high. With that said the property was clean, well maintained, the staff was courteous and helpful. I felt completely safe in the surroundings and would indeed stay here again. Previous reviewers maligned the rooms and breakfast. I found both to be satisfactory and the bed to be quite comfortable. As for the breakfast I was informed that the hotel is remodeling their kitchen and hot breakfast will be offered again as soon as it is finished.

« Best option in Hollister »

Nice hotel convenient to Pinnacles. Close to highway and town. There are really very few other options in town and this looked like the best. This isn't a fancy place but the room was clean and the staff seemed friendly. There was construction going on so we didn't eat the breakfast.

« Best of the Buncj »

Hotel was conveniently located the room was very basic and needs some updating. Don't get a room facing the roadway unless you want the noise. I guess you could turn on the fan and listen to that if you prefer. Breakfast was decent. Cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, microwaveable sausage and egg biscuit. Pleasantly surprised with coffee and expresso served from machine. Only 2 hotels in town but building another. Due to amount of construction be prepared for a lot of construction laborers staying and partying all night.

    « Clean, Reasonable, Convenient »

This Hotel is a good value. Clean property, lobby and rooms; all well maintained. Nice people who represent Best Western quality. The hotel provides a basic but good breakfast and a pool. Expansion of the dining room and breakfast amenities are coming soon. Who could ask for more?

« Good Night's Sleep at the Best Western »

We had a good night's sleep at the Best Western in Hollister. We checked in through the night service window as we arrived after 10:00 p.m. at night. We were greeted nicely and quickly checked in. We had a good night's sleep. King Size Bed is comfortable. There is a refrigerator, microwave, table, chair, and TV in room. The room is on the smaller size, but given the reasonable room rates, price/value ratio is good. Breakfast is included in morning. There is also a nice swimming pool. There is also free internet access. While the motel is basic, I have given it a very good review because of service; good night's sleep, and reasonable rates. I also liked it that we could stay one night only on a very busy Presidents/Valentines Weekend in February.

« Nicest hotel in Hollister »

This hotel is the nicest in the area close to the OHV park. We like staying here before we go riding our dirt bikes. The facility meets all the expectations one might have for a Best Western property. If you are used to staying at The Marriott or The Ritz this is the closest you will get in Hollister, but you will still find it lacking the 5 star feel. However, if you are used to staying at The Marriott or The Ritz what the heck are you doing in Hollister? Get over yourself and enjoy the comfy bed, free wifi, and working alarm clock. This hotel, however, is not walking distance to downtown, but the hotels that are do not keep their properties as nice as this place does.

« Clean, Recently Updated but Highway Noise »

This hotel was Clean, Comfortable and appeared to have been Recently Updated. Concerns include the limited breakfast and the Highway Noise. Access to the hotel was awkward due to location near intersection. Location was suitable for area activities.

« Unclean and the owner is not friendly, switch and bait game. »

Booked a king room on line, when we arrived was told they didn't have one so the desk clerk, who was very sick (must be the daughter to the owner) put us in a single queen. The room reeked so bad we went back to the front desk. All she had was a double queen upstairs (no elevator). Since I was told we couldn't cancel our reservation we were stuck, therefore took the room. After my husband dragged our bags upstairs in the pouring rain I wanted to wash my hands. When grabbing a towel I noticed the large yellow spot on the hand towel. I smelled the towels of course one smelled fresh and this one did not. We had dirty towels in our room, which I showed the owner, along with the bathroom floor that was so sticky my slippers stuck to the floor and my foot came out. I told the owner the next morning and he said "Well, you stayed the night didn't you"? What choice did we have since that was the last room and we could not cancel? I was upset about our dirty room and the fact we specifically paid for a king room not a queen bed. He proceeded to tell me the double queen beds upstairs cost more than the king room I booked. Why was the room available on line but not when I arrived? Most places the king bed is more than the others. We are too big for a queen bed so we had to sleep in two different beds at an angle so our toes were not cramped. Bad, bad place! We've stayed in a nicer Motel 6, although that is my husbands idea of camping! This hotel is over priced for being so rank and rude. No restaurants just ok coffee and stale muffins and a box of cereal, cheap, cheap, cheap and discussing with a sick person handling the front desk. I think they let people book a king so they can switch them to a higher rate room once they are there. I wasn't the only one inside the office talking to the manager, who obviously didn't care.

« Deal with noisy neighbors next time »

There was a very loud party next door from our upstairs room from 2 - 4 AM. Staff would not deal with it. Fear of reprisal. Gave us local police business line which was out of service. Ended up getting some money refunded for having lost a few hours of sleep.

    « Great stay! »

The hotel was nice and clean. The people who manned the front desk were very helpful and nice. We'd love to stay there again when we return! It's usually hard to get a room here, so we were pleasantly surprised when we got our reservation.

    « Dec. 4, 2015 »

While I would recommend this Best Western to any traveler, I felt the price was a little high. Its location for business in Hollister was ideal for me. The receptionist was quite helpful and informative about dinner recommendation.

    « Quaint »

This place has plenty of rooms for only one building . At the intersection of two highways . Not much around here in walking distance except gas station across the street . Now room was small but kind of cute in a strange way . May be an old hotel but rooms were upgraded and grounds were clean . Check in was easy . Room was clean everything worked and had no problems whatsoever . Cannot comment on breakfast , left too early . On a small note , parking is way too close to room doors . Can hear diesel pickup trucks parking close by . I would guess that rooms on top floor would be the most quiet .

    « Our Go-to in Hollister »

My boys and I ride dirt bikes at Hollister Hills SVRA. We have been staying here a few nights a year for the past 3 or 4 years. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and the hot breakfast hits the spot before a day of riding. The hot breakfast is currently suspended but will return when the lobby remodeling is completed. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

    « unclean »

The room smelled bad, making it hard to sleep. Towels still had make-up stains on them. Breakfast was not great. Good coffee. Frig. and Microwave in room. Room was not vacuumed everyday. Wondered how clean sheets were.

    « i get a handicapped room? »

A dumpy hotel, though clean enough. I completely object to being assigned a disabled room without my knowledge and a reservation that was made a week in advance. For one, I find a room set up for people with mobility issues to someone like me who is very mobile, depressing. Further, what if some disabled traveller had shown up for a room and I had his spot? "No room at the Inn." That prospect makes me feel as bad as parking in a handicapped spot at a mall would. But in this case, it was not my fault!

    « Great New Choice »

This place is the best small town hotels we have ever stayed at. The standard Best Western room that is expected with a microwave and small refrigerator added. Outside walkways are good except when it rains. The continental breakfast was all a traveler would want.

    « Cheap/Rude Management; Dirty »

This is not the quality you would expect from a Best Western. I see the hotel manager, Sanjay, writes on most other reviews that "he takes great pride in the hotel, is constantly working on improving things, and that customers' bad experiences are not the normal ways they do business" - don't believe this crap. He is looking to pinch pennies and skimp in every way possible, not looking to improve anything. Upon checking in, we were told that even though we had $125 in gift cards, we would have to put the whole charge for the two nights on our credit card as a hold, because the front desk lady, Juanita, wasn't sure how to process the gift cards. The owner/manager, Sanjay, did come out at that point, but only to get on the phone and basically yell at some other customer about a credit card. I couldn't even hear Juanita, and she answered the phone 3-4 other times and instead of putting them on hold to finish helping us, proceeded to help each one by booking, etc. At this point, we were tired of waiting and really wanted to relax in our room, so we just agreed to have the full charge held on our card. After reading reviews of other people having card charge issues, we were very paranoid about this. So when we checked out, we asked the lady who was there (who said she was the wife of Sanjay) if this was the normal process for credit cards. She said no, but that the computer Juanita had used was messed up, and had we waited for Sanjay to get off the other computer, we could have used that one. This was not the explanation we were first given, otherwise, we would have waited, so we wouldn't have had to skimp on our spending for the weekend, due to the hold. The "hot" breakfast has been reduced to continental breakfast, which WAS noted on the website (which I unfortunately missed), but I think this is just one of the many ways the hotel manager/owner is looking to save money. This has been a common complaint from customers for months now. There were tarps up, but no construction completed while I was there. I believe them to be a scam so he can save money and effort on breakfast. And what was provided in the continental breakfast was bare bones. Hard boiled eggs that I was scared to eat, yoplait yogurt, and one gross looking microwavable breakfast sandwich that I was also scared to eat. My boyfriend felt safest eating the cereal, and I braved toast and cream cheese, but that was about the only edible things there. Our room did not look or feel clean. The little dark hairs were the first indicator. The bottle cap beside my nightstand was the second. But you could just sit in there and feel the dirtiness, even if you didn't see it. At around 10 pm, our toilet clogged, and no one would answer the phone downstairs. Being pregnant and not being able to wait, my boyfriend reached in and unclogged it himself. We called again to ask for a comforter, since there wasn't one and it was in the 40s outside at night - again no answer. And again, in my opinion, a way to skimp. We slept with towels over our sheets. Again, this hotel manager/owner does not have pride and is not looking to improve anything. These are all just words. Taking ACTION on people's complaints is how you improve and take pride. That is the American way - not trying to pinch pennies by faking construction, reducing your breakfast, not cleaning your rooms properly or even the halls, not providing comforters, not answering your phones, etc.

WE had a large wedding with a wedding hotel block reserved. All our guests were told when inquiring about reservations that the hotel was booked, when in fact it was not. Now this is a small town with very few hotels which caused guests decisions on whether to attend our wedding or not. We (the wedding couple) made plans to pay for 4 other guest rooms. We were asked for our personal credit card to reserve these rooms. Several times (at least 5 times) we called up to ensure that we had 4 rooms reserved. Each time there was a mix up of rooms, and EACH time we were asked for our credit card. NOW upon arrival of our guests that we paid for their rooms our guests were asked for their own personal credit cards. REALLY????? Our room reservations prior to our stay were sent to other guest members... REALLY??? BEST WESTERN was rude on the phone, very disorganized, and we spent hours trying to get things straight... ON OUR WEDDING DAY!

« Nice Room But Hard Bed »

The room was nice, but the bed was very hard. The desk clerks were polite but not very friendly. We missed the free breakfast so I'm not able to review it. There is a pool, but we didn't have time to use it.

« Could be a lot better if owner/hotel manager isn't so cheap »

The room was decent, in good condition (not new, but not outdated either), the bed was comfortable and clean (I was nervous about this as I read about a bed bug situation in a previous review). The AC was loud and kind of annoying, but at least it worked. Since this hotel is on a busy road, I recommend requesting for a room away from the main road. Continental breakfast was almost non-existent. Just some yogurt, hard boiled eggs that have been in the fridge for god knows how long, stale cereal with no milk to be found, cream cheese in the fridge but no bagels or any pastries to be found. They should be charging less since there really isn't any breakfast. I hope someone better comes along and improves the customer service and quality of this hotel, because the existing management clearly wants to spend the least amount they can get away with.

« Probably best hotel in city but----- »

The hotel appears to have been recently renovated but they didn't replace the bed in the roo. We had, very lumpy, also booked far in advance asked for second floor on the quiet side, got the second floor but we're on the noisy hwy side. The breakfast was on the just barely ok area cereal, yogurt and bread and packaged rolls, watery juice, enough to just curb your hunger. The town was surprisingly nice, very clean and we only stay here because of the huge event going on at the Monterey raceway there were no affordable rooms any closer, just an ok place to stay if you have to be in Hollister.

    « Sub-par experience »

You get what you pay for. The hotel is right next to the highway and therefore somewhat noisy. Our room was okay, but you had the feeling that it wasn't quite clean. Air condition didn't work properly and neither did the TV-remote. Breakfast was very limited and the breakfast room could only fit about six seated guests at any time. Wi-fi was on-off.

« Lady was helpful but place was bad »

When we arrived the front fest lady was friendly and very helpful. The site amenities appeared to be similar in nature of a smaller town which is ok. Unfortunately the room was not clean at all, my grandkids got bedbug bites and the sheets weren't cleaned. There was feces on a bed sheet. The front lady's friendliness doesn't outweigh the weight of the dirty room. I'm going to try the Cinderella Hotel next time I'm in Hollister.

« Willing to work with the tired traveler »

We had just worked the local Renaissance Pleasure Faire during the weekend of our stay, and needed a place to rest our tired heads before making the long (5 hours long) journey back home. We only had $100 to spend. After looking at another more questionable motel nearby, we stumbled upon the Best Western San Benito Inn in Hollister. As we originally didn't have enough financially to afford a nights stay there, the front desk lady was sweet enough to inquire of another nearby motel she knew would likely be much cheaper than them. As we thanked her and prepared to head to the motel she'd inquired of, she and the supervisor came to my car and told me they were more than willing to work within the budget we had for lodging; agreeing to waive the $100 security deposit, and reduce the room rate 10%. We paid an even $100 for the room, and were more than satisfied with the end results.

« Out of the way but nice »

Small rooms but good visit . We went to be near Monterey but it was way too far . I think this would be a good overnight on the way through type place . Beds and pillows good . Quiet . Parking good . Near stores within a mile . No restaurants near here at all . Right off main roadways but no road noise . TV channel selection pretty slim .
