Best Western Hobart

Located in a central spot only a short walk to pubs and restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean. I did pick this place based on the fact they had a restaurant, however I was there on a Sunday and Monday night, the two nights the restaurant wasn't open. Eateries close by so I wasn't too concerned.

We recently stayed here & the room was great especially as it had a separate living area plus 2 little balconies off both the bedroom & living room to let in fresh air. This hotel is in a good location & Sundays there's a farmers market just down the same street. We accidentally left our backpack (we think in the parking area) & it was handed in by Joc & we retrieved it a few days later which was awesome! Thank you..

The room it's self had a really good view and the shower was amazing. The only let down for me was the bed and pillows were horrible. The pillows very hard and the bed just as hard. The TV with Netflix was a hit and the staff down stairs really helpful.

A comfortable room with balcony overlooking Mt Wellington. The area is within walking distance to city centre, stores, waterfront and the Salamanca markets. I visited Cracked and Spineless books, Hanging gardens, the waterfront, the market and had a trike ride as well. Lots of interesting attractions and cafes, restaurants nearby too. The hotel was efficient and my room comfortable with all the usual facilities. Breakfast was buffet style and we had dinner one night - all good quality and delicious. Staff at reception were helpful and courteous. Enjoy.

Not a huge fan of Best Westerns, but this one was great. Excellent location (seems a little bit off the track, but Hobart is not too big and one can still walk to many places from here), clean, good breakfast buffet. No issues with wifi. A lot of brochures and flyers by the lifts – do check them out!

Bed in king bed so comfortable. Made for a great nights sleep. Good place to catch ferry back to Melb. Free drinks voucher for Bisto and 10% off dinner at bistro. Clean, no cooking facilities. Lady at reception very friendly and welcoming, something we dudnt get in some places.

Arriving at 8:30, when the buffet closed at 9:30, we found no bread, one pastry, hardly any fruit, no eggs, no baked beans, two cold tomatoes, two cold sausages, a few cold potatoes, no bacon and a broken pancake machine. Shortly after, the coffee machine broke. I needed to ask a staff member to restock, who seemed very surprised at the request. They restocked the bread straight away and attempted to fix the pancake machine but couldn't. After 15 minutes some bacon and baked beans were brought out, the bacon was so undercooked it was basically warm ham, and the beans were cold. In the end, we paid $35 for a piece of cold toast and a glass of water each. I say cold toast because the toaster machine is so old and slow, while the bread appears toasted, it's stone cold. This was really inconvenient, we wanted to eat breakfast and get on our way. This terrible buffet meant we needed to stop somewhere else and buy another breakfast. Our feelings are not unique, all the other guests in the dining area were commenting how simply terrible it was. Speaking of, there were only about a dozen people there, hardly enough people to have rushed the buffet and depleted it to the level it was.

Nice clean hotel with bars and restaurants nearby. It was approximately 1km from Salamanca which wasn't very taxing for a 60yo. A couple of slight hills. The food in the hotel restaurant was good. I would recommend this hotel.

good cheap accommodation for our family. room was tidy. meals were pretty good. parking underneath is great in secure carpark. close enough to everything. but far enough out of city so not too much traffic noise. water pressure in shower spot on.

Perfect location for a city stay whether on business, shopping or exploring. Loved the onsite parking availability. Property in general was well maintained and our room very clean and comfortable. Staff excellent. WIll definitely stay here again.

Very dated and in need of a paint brush. Furniture looks out of the 80's. Don't think the net curtains have ever been changed. Bed was ok and the bathroom was clean and appears fairly recently upgraded. But the bathroom door would not close. As for the rooms entry door, it can only be described as worrying! Makes you feel the hotel is located in gangland. Even if the padlock was necessary, it did not even line up, so you could not use it even if needed!

I have stayed three times now over the last few years. A very good affordable business hotel within 4 - 5 mins walk of bars, restaurants and CBD. King room is quite large and mine was on 5th floor with a balcony. Unlimited internet access, large TV, and free parking if a Best Western member. Hobart in winter is quite cold but a good heating system meant my room was always warm when I returned.

We chose to stay here due to the availability of parking, it is central and the price was competitive. The bathroom was clean, newly renovated. Lots of shops around where to eat so we did not bother getting the breakfast deal. They do have the Ember restaurant if you do not fee like going out. Ample room size. We will choose to stay here again if we come back but we will probably choose a room with a better view. Our room had a window but it is in level with this ledge that was not pleasing to the eyes for sure. Parking was $15 a day but subject to availability. We always got a park when we return after a drive somewhere. On most nights, parking was full.

Very poor quality hotel.Stayed here as part of a travel group. Rooms are tired and dated. My room smelt of dogs, yet when I spoke to reception, they said that they don't allow dogs. However when my room was cleaned the next day, there was a clear smell of cleaning products, in order to mask the smell of dogs. The breakfast was very basic. Would I stay there again - no thanks..!

Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

Stayed here for several nights. Staff were friendly, and the place was clean. But it is old and average. The rooms have had some renovations, but they have missed the mark. They should have placed double glazing on the windows to reduce the road and other noise. It is quite bad. They have a light timer in the bathroom which is set to 10 seconds. A bit difficult to keep moving around if you are trying to direct your stream into the bowl. It is 600 MTRS from the centre of town and while that is not far, there are other better choices closer.

I spend 2 nights every fortnight at the Best Western Hobart as the staff go out of their way to look after you, giving advise where to visit, and if you are a regular like me they will welfare check if you have not been seen, The lounge/bar staff go the extra yard during your stay, highly recommend staying at the Best Western Hobart

Room was very clean and tidy. Beds were super comfortable. Short walk to the wharf and CBD. Great location to see central attractions. Staff were all friendly and helpful. On-site parking was helpful.

Best Western was easy to find and check-in straightforward. Parking was simple an there is easy access from the car. Bed, linen and towels all good Breakfast was very good and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Its an easy walk into the CBD or down to the waterfront

Excellent modern hotel near the town centre, within easy walking distance from the town centre. It is a welcoming and spacious modern hotel, and a good addition to the limited options in Hobart. Rooms are of good size, comfortable beds, reliable wifi and most come with balconies. Its family room is a one-bedroom suite essentially and the space is much appreciated for my family. The hotel also has a well-maintained pay-to-use laundry room, and ample space to hang out for guests it never feels busy. The room rate was fair where Hobart has become too expensive. I didn't give it a full star as we felt while the front desk was fairly helpful, it was rather impersonal and comes across as rather transactional. Eg. we booked our own trip as they simply directed us to tourist brochures and could have further helped. Also, our family room was good but we know could have been better, because other family rooms are larger while our room didn't have a balcony because of the dusty roof outside outside our window. This said, with the right price-quality I would love to stay here again if we revisit Hobart.

The hotel is located back from the centre and water, but Hobart is quite small and this is not a real issue - about 10-15 minutes walk to the waterfront. The hotel looks a little tired from the outside. Checkin was quick and easy. I had a room on the top floor looking east - I could see the water. The room was big enough. The room is a little dated, but the bathroom appeared to have been renovated recently. Powerpoints were in the right places for charging and using a laptop. Bed was fine. The fridge was in a cuboard, which was not quite wide enough, meaning that opening the door was a challenge as it got caught on the hinges. I would stay here again

We stayed for four nights Room was on the first floor and had no balcony - a convention room is also on the first floor! so, it may not be quite Our room had a window which could only open 10cm, yet it had a security screen! Power points for the kettle where all in the wrong places - not by the table in the room! so we have had to plug in the kettle on the bedside table next to the bed - strange setup! and the kettle was plastic - for a four-star hotel with plastic kettles in this day come on! The bathroom was one of the best we have seen in our travels! - it was so new, and we both enjoyed a nice hot bath at the end of the day

We stayed overnight for a meeting in Hobart. Cofirmed and paid booking online and called to check-in late. Morning reception was not a delight to talk to. She bungled up our reservation and was told we did not booked for the day and was booked on the following day. She transferred us 4 x to another service and hunged up 4x. We had to repeatedly call 4 x and had to ask to leave our mobile number for reservation to call us back. Good thing reservation people confirmed booking explaining technical error on their computer not updating. We were worried all throughout drive to Hobart fearing our reservation did not pushed through from the way reception handled it. Poor communication and unnecessary stress on traveling. Night staff was excellent though. Fast easy check-in. The rest of the facilities were great. Near the city, parking is convenient and breakfast room service was great. So call to confirm booking before you come to this hotel.

The hotel is centrally located in Hobart and was easy to get in and out of by car. It is also within eaay walking distance of various attractions and restaurants. Rooms are basic but clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel in October. Great location to downtown Hobart. The docks and Salamanca Place are within walking distance otherwise it's a short taxi ride away. We had a superior room on the 5th floor which I would recommend. Room was very clean and king bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. I didn't eat at the restaurant. It represented good value for money. I would recommend this hotel although parking was expensive at $15 per night.

Great bed, clean and nice staff. Very noisy on Friday & Saturday nights due to nightclub or something near by. Can hear adjoining rooms also. We were watching telly before. 10pm and the guest in an adjoining room kept thumping on our wall to turn it down (it wasn't loud!). We wished we'd booked closer to the water front,

The staff at Best Western Hobart are brilliant. warm, friendly & totally committed to ensuring guest satisfaction & happiness. The rooms are very clean, bathrooms recently renovated with all of the expected amenities. The only draw back with staying here on a Friday ‘ Saturday night is the very loud music coming from a nearby night club. There's nothing the Best Western can do about it but it did interrupt a good nights sleep. Special mention to the bar and restaurant staff, lovely guys very passionate about their jobs,

Pleasant staff. Comfy king size bed and room was quiet. Parking was $15 and breakfast $26. I couldn't eat $26 worth of food but hubby enjoyed what he had. Everything was spotless. Bathroom has had an upgrade so quiet nice. Balcony had no real view.

Nice hotel, fantastic customer service by staff in the restaurant, lounge/bar area. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Best Western Hobart. Good location, quality of food available at the restaurant very good. Very satisfied with this hotel.

This hotel was a bit dated but has had a few modern upgrades. Bed was very comfy. Views of city from small balcony. Bathroom very modern with great shower. Only letdown was no milk for tea and coffee. Buffet breakfast was ample but food was a bit cold. Would stay again.

We stayed for one night and it was suitable to our needs. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Air heating was adequate and kept us cosy with cooler temperatures. Tea and coffee making facilities and bathroom amenities were adequate. Location was probably a little far outside of the CBD for us, but it was chosen for the convenience of the car rental pick up. All in all I would recommend Best Western for a short stay.

We were there as a family of four, so it was great to have 2 good sized rooms and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom isn't large but was new and well serviced. There was a great family pub nearby for dinner.

We stayed here for three nights. Found the hotel clean and presentable, staff were friendly. Its centrally located and an easy walk into the CBD, Salamanca & the Wharf. The room was spacious, clean and serviced daily, only downside would be that it wasn't very soundproof to the outside street noise (we were on the third floor). Undercover paid parking on site is available at a cost of $15 per day.

Nice hotel with clean rooms, I would say a 3 star. Looks like the rooms have had a little renovation done recently. My concern is that the rooms are not sound proof, hallway noises showers in other rooms and street noise. Hotel is not city centre but a nice walk of about 7 mins will get you into the mall and 12 mins or Salamanca markets. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay again next time I'm in Hobart.

Accommodations were a nice surprise. Despite looking dated in some areas, establishment was clean, and staff were lovely. Rooms were roomy, and beds super comfy. Bathrooms and showers perfectly adequate for a family. Would recommend to anyone who's after a lovely stay at an awesome price in a great central location.

Do not pay for parking, you dont need to, the gate is always open and you will not find parking spots available. Everyone park there without paying. We found a couple of items in the room that didn't below to use, so the rooms are not cleaned properly.

This hotel is fantastic. Beds are comfortable & rooms are always clean. The housekeeping staff are excellent & the Embers restaurant always have a delicious offering for their buffet breakfasts. The location on Bathurst st is wonderful with a short walk to Liverpool where the city shops are located. The view from both sides is stunning and staff are quite aimiable just as most Tasmanians are! Worth a visit to this hotel and it's stunning city

After a really long day getting to Hobart, it was nice to have an easy an quick check in. Nice modern room with a lovely comfortable King sized bed. Free WiFi, bar fridge that actually gets things cold and to top things off, a tasty breakfast that came with three poached eggs rather than the two on the menu, to make up for the fact that the eggs were on the smaller size. Not a big deal you may think, but I've never had that happen before. Very attentive and helpful staff in all areas.

Our last visit to Hobart was 11 years ago. During these years Hobart city has been going through a transition of a century. There are a number 5 star international hotels that have established their footprint in the city, and the city's real estate price has sky rocketed. After careful planning I decided to give Best Western Hotel a go. I stayed at room 330 for 3 nights from May 20th. The hotel is situated within the CBD precinct. A 10 minute walk will take you to shopping malls, museums and water front. Another 5 or so minutes later you will see yourself at Salamanca, a colonial historic site. The airport shuttle bus stop is just around corner. My room is well appointed with a small balcony. The bed is very comfortable. The hotel also has a onsite restaurant, a bar and a small but functional gym. I noted a few reviewers commented on the hotel's ageing interior. I found the Best Western Hobart is very well maintained. Its service definitely is up to the 4 start standard, especially its staff who are very welcoming. I had a very comfortable stay and high recommended this hotel yo my fellow travellers.

Clean and spacious room. Fairly basic but great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Can walk to Salamanca and Farm Gate markets. Only downside was one side of the bed were slopping and a bit uncomfortable. Car parking spots are very tiny so if you have a big 4WD it will be difficult! Friendly staff.

OMG the music from the nearby nightclub is loud and terrible! Don't stay here if you want sleep. It's a shame as it's a lovely clean hotel with nice staff. Cross it off your list. Definitely not a nice place if you want to rest.

I spent 8 nights at this hotel, and was well satisfied. The room was not luxurious, but of a good standard, with a well appointed bathroom, comfortable bed, large TV, fridge and adequate storage space. There was a small balcony, and good views out over the city. A handy guest laundry facility is available on the fourth floor. The hotel is well situated for easy access to the town and dock area. There are some nice restaurants and a very good pub within easy walking distance. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Definitely no complaints and I enjoyed my stay.

Found the location great, had breakfast and the food was good, rooms and facilities were clean, staff great only negative was that the parking bays were too small for a work vehicle or ute, more suited to a small car.

Accommodating and friendly staff and very central location . We arrived early and the lovely staff member allowed us to go up to our room and upgraded us to the family room. The hotel is dated, but clean and comphy. We were able to walk all over the cbd with ease. Great restaurants and shopping within a 10 minute walk.

We made a reservation at the beginning of the year with Best Western for our family holiday and to celebrate my husbands 50th. There was no indication at the time of booking that the hotel was to become a COVID 19 quarantine hotel. Knowingly, Best Western staff knew (as told by reception staff) that these bookings were never going to be honoured. Bookings were taken regardless and we booked in good faith. Recently, we received an email to say our reservation has been cancelled. We are now left with difficulties on trying to find a hotel at the last minute, as Hobart is booked out for the new year period and the only other choice is to pay $2500 for 4 night stays elsewhere. Clearly, Best Western has chosen government money over customers! Interestingly enough, you can still book stays in the New year period- I hope future customers know these may never be honoured!

Though this hotel looks a little dated, we were very pleasantly surprised by our room - very comfy bed, nice decor, new bathroom - we had a very pleasant stay! Not located near the water, it's the other side of the City, but close to city centre.

I have planned a 8 day driving holiday around Tasmania for early November 2020 after they opened the borders. I used TripAdvisor to search hotels as I normally do and found a deal at the best western in Hobart which I booked through a partner website. Whilst I understand it's not confirmed until accepted by the hotel all other have honoured the booking. Best Western advised me a week out from travel that my booking had been revoked and I was refunded. No reason just not accepted. I went back into their website and the room prices had risen by $35 so it's not like they had no rooms available. Poor form and we have now found other accomodation on principle. Be warned booking a room does not mean they will honour it if they can increase a price and get someone else!

You get what you pay for. Don't believe the nice pictures online. The bed was comfortable, the "view" is terrible, good (tight) bathroom, crappy coffee sachets. No one at reception when we left. For what I paid, it was very average. I would recommend, if all you want is a bed, but sadly can't say I would stay there again.

this is the second time we have stayed at the best western hobart. both times our stays went well above our expectations. the staff are super friendly and helpful. the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the cbd. the premises were stunning and the room amazing!! the comfiest bed and pillows we have ever had. wifi worked great. room was very spacious, clean and tidy. and the shower head wow, was so big loved it. plus a massive tv. couldnt fault our stay. if i could give it over 5 stars i would. highly recommended. we will be back!!!

I came here always for business, but I would use it also for holiday. I always enjoy coming here. It's walking distance to Salamanca market and battery Point. Cleaned rooms and friendly staff. Provide breakfast buffet.

Booked a family hiking trip to Tasmania for Easter, but had to cancel when State of Emergency declared. Every other provider (QANTAS, Apollo Motor Homes, Big4 and Discovery campsites, Tasmania Parks and Wildlife, Tassie Tours) have given me either a refund or a credit toward rebooking in the future (Thanks you guys!). Not so for Best Western. Shame on them. They are keeping my $500 for 2 nights accommodation which I clearly won't be able to use.

Easy walk to markets, shops and the dock area. Rooms could do with an upgrade. If you need to rent a car, there are plenty nearby. Staff where friendly. Happy hour everyday was a lovely way to start your night

A comfortable and clean place. Although on a main road into Hobart car noise does not intrude. Clean rooms with a/c. Very good choice for breakfast and value dinners are available. There is a laundry on site. A short drive into town. Recommended.

Dine at their restaurant once and breakfast also.Dinner was acceptable but breakfast was yukkie, they are under staffed losing sight of the needs of their clients. And do not drink the coffee Oh Lordy it was awful

We stayed for 3 nights and found the room to be quite comfortable but the lobby/lift area carpets were in poor condition and lifting. Staff were friendly and breakfast was as expected for this level of hotel. The location was very handy to all city centre and waterfront so this suited us well with on street car parking for our rental car. Overall a nice place to stay but probably needs a bit of an upgrade due to showing signs of wear and tear.

I spent couple of nights there and the hotel had the right facilities and location to move around Hobart. It is a bit old and maybe not perfectly clean but for the price paid and the location it is pretty good. I recommend for business trips

We stayed there for 3 nights & were up on the 4th floor, The room was a good size, it had a small table & 2 chairs, the bathroom was clean as that's the first thing I check out that there is no mould in the shower ect. I worked in 5 star Hotel in Housekeeping so I know what to look for. We had a lovely view from our room of the surrounds. I would defiantly stay there again. The breakfast down in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were helpful & nice.

Set high on hill, right in town, close to everything. Stroll down hill to Salamanca shops, cafes, pubs, piers. Bar and dining though would have liked more variety in menu and pricing for meals. Clean and neat.

We stayed for 4 nights in a family suite. Having previously stayed in the hotel in 2007 when it was the Mercure and were pleased to see it had been updated. The rooms decor was tidy and size was excellent but the bathroom very small which was hard work with little kids. The buffet breakfast was excellent value as we did have 4 kids under 12 so they ate free. Room service was good value, very large meals at a reasonable price. Most of the staff were very friendly. The hotel is centrally located with a short walk to most central Hobart sites. I would definitely recommend the hotel to families.

Our family group of three stayed for two nights in January 2020. We had a family suite with one king bed and two single beds. Space was therefore generous. The hotel is somewhat tired with wear and tear over the years, however, everything was clean. Beware that this hotel is on the corner of Bathurst and Harrington Streets, which is in the retail area of Hobart. It is not in the waterfront area of the City. A car is desirable for getting around and there is an underground car park with daily charge for hotel guests of $10. Staff friendly and helpful.

We spent a night at the hotel, prior to starting the exploration of Tasmania. We checked in at apx. 10PM and were allocated with room 328. This was a regular room with twin beds, a big HD TV, a small balcony with a view to a parking lot, a minibar, but no safe. The entire room was probably decorated back in the 1980's, as it felt very old and not updated. The bathroom was small with a sink, toilet, a bath tub (with a curtain) and toiletries from Kudos Spa. Our top tier welcome gift was a bottle of water, 2 sweets and a drink coupon from the bar. There was a 4 cm gap between the door and the floor, so that meant light from the corridor entered the room throughout the night. Bottom line - this is a very simple 3-star hotel, which is a good choice if you have to spend the night in Hobart.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Hotel very good apart from getting woken up by a fire alarm at 7am the 1st night. Also the last night had to phone reception at 3am about the next room playing loud music. Would stay in this hotel again if returning to Hobart.

Spent three nights there but found it quite expensive. Room was small and not quite equipped with cutlery (spoons) to make tea or coffee. In the room we spent there was only one spoon. The restaurant was quite expensive too for a full continental breakfast. No shower caps in the bathroom so better bring your own. They charge for the car park too on top of their fees. Food at the breakfast was good. Water was not enough as the guests kept filling up their bottles from the jugs of and it took quite som time to get refilled. Location is good to explore Hobart city and surroundings.

King bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful. But no toilet brush provided. I was really looking forward to the buffet breakfast but all the food was stone cold. Also watched someone handle all the bread before selecting some to toast....

we came here for a family holiday trip, staff were very friendly and patient, the location was close to everything in walking distance, $10 a day for parking is very reasonable in CBD area. The room has been cleaned everyday.

I have been there 2 times never problem in the past , but I stayed there this week , and rooms were pretty old, bathrooms too need a big updated , I asked on my second day if I could get a upgraded to other room as was really noise , and the receptionist said ok could do on Friday , 2 days later .I had a friend coming to visit me quick and 10 min later got a letter saying I recived many guests and this is not allowed on hotel this activity...I was so disappointed , went to speak with manager who said had many complaints( funny two hours before had nothing) Completly discrimination, I was having a friend over . They don't have any proof or whatever Won't ever stay again .

Not the nicest of hotels l have stayed in though it has been renovated and the bed was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and that includes the cleaning lady. Loved the buffet breakfast which was very plentiful.

I stay at Best Western properties in the USA, and this one is about the same. The room is comfortable and the hotel is walking distance to the wharf and numerous restaurants. For the price and location I would recommend this hotel. If you are looking for luxury, this is not your place. The buffet breakfast has a lot to be desired. I get there right when they open but the food is cold. I would recommend eating very light and save your appetite for the amazing restaurants in town.

Had a very nice stay. Unfortunately couldn't stay the whole period while in Hobart. But that was my own fault. Great breakfast option and easy dinner. Prices are little more high than winter time. still felt like winter in Hobart. Great place to stay and just a short walk away from main city centre.

My stayed here on our arrival to Hobart. The place is old and ran down. Why people build shower so deep and have the taps under the shower head has got me beat. The bathroom is nice but way to small, a huge step into the shower then a big reach to turn the taps on and then get wet by cold water. The shower doesn't have a door so when showering the door getting coated in water aswell as the floor. The staff that book you in are nice and helpful but the barstaff and waiters and waitresses were so helpful or nice. For a hotel that has happy hour and doesn't even have any local wines or gins included in the happy hour is disappointing. The breakfast each morning don't bother buying it in the package for a hot breakfast. Everything in the hot breakfast was cold except for the pancakes which was a machine that made them while you wait.

Loved my five day stay at this hotel. Staff most obliging when I requested a room with a walk in shower after flight centre didn't put in my request for one. Upgraded at no extra charge. All the staff were very friendly. The meals were all very nice, particularly dinners. Would recommend this hotel.

Our second visit to the Best Western Hobart, 3 star accommodation. The rooms a simple, clean and quite. The reception staff are professional and friendly. Parking is excellent at $10 per day for guests. Excellent location, close to most attractions and short walk to the major stores in the city. The only aspect we found disappointing was the restaurant, we had breakfast one morning and it was pretty dreary and the staff not particularly obliging. The rest of the time we found some wonderful cafes close by. Certainly wouldn't recommend it! Would certainly stay at the Best Western Hobart for our next stay!

This somewhat dated hotel has large clean rooms with modernized baths and if your on the north side, a view up the mountain. The breakfast is standard with several cooked items and can get busy with visiting pensioners or soccer clubs. All things considered I enjoy this hotel albeit not too exciting.

This is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Check in was extremely easy and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is easy to work into the city and close to tourist attractions. I was here for business and it was easy to getting to meeting points.

Room was okay but provided 2 single beds as apposed to one double bed . Room service was great always made the room look inviting . Air con was not working the best and tv only has 4 channels . Room service was ok but the food down at embers was very poor wouldn't recommend it you also have to sign when you receive the room service . Bathroom small provided with a shower bath which wasn't ideal . Car parking was good at $10 night . Reception was lovely and always willing to help .

Great experience, hotel is in the CBD, very central, staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean, a bit outdated, may need some updating soon. Staff can direct you to where you need to go, call a taxi or recommend whoever you may need! Great experience!

This best western is a couple of mins drive to constitution dock. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet The in-house restaurant is fantastic- the food is beautiful, and plenty of gluten options too We stayed for four nights, breakfast included, we got a car park every night - additional cost - are at the restaurant a couple of nights but if you love Japanese food there is a sensational low key Japanese restaurant/cafe just around the corner from the hotel, Kobe - if you love ramen It's non descript, it's very low but the food is sensational - cooked and served by Japanese - quiet too because most of the bigger flashier Japanese restaurants are in the centre of town Would def eat and stay at all of above again

If you don't get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, then this hotel would be okay, but I you DO use the bathroom at night be forewarned. The bathroom lights are really bright LEDs on motion detectors, so the lights come blasting on, and stay on for about 5 minutes after you leave. Even if you keep the door closed, light leaks out around the frame, and because there is a mirrored closet directly across, the light gets reflected back into the room. The hallway smells like play doh, and the carpeting is worn, but that's not a big deal because you don't spend much time in the hall. On a positive note, the rooms are clean and the shower is powerful.

My husband and I recently stayed in room 427, for 3 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Nice view of the city and a peek of the harbor from in between buildings was seen from our balcony. The bathroom was much more modern than shown on the hotel's pictures. Shower has a rainwater head, and the pressure provided much needed relief after long days of exploring. We ate at Embers for the buffet breakfast on 2 occasions, the selection of food was great and everything delicious. They even have a pancake machine! Very cool! With just a short walk to the shops, we found the location to be very handy. Staff were overall very welcoming and accommodating during our entire stay. We plan to stay here again on future visits to Hobart. Thanks again for having us, Best Western Hobart.

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. One staff member suggested I go somewhere else when I phoned about the room setup, which I have never heard of before. It's not quite what I expect from a four star hotel, but pretty close. They are currently renovating the bathrooms. We had a room that was not renovated but it was still ok. The bed was very comfortable. The water is not at all drinkable as far as I am concerned, so bringing your own bottle of water (instead of paying $4) from the minibar would be a good idea. We had a two room suite but there was no dining room lounge in this configuration. It suited us well though. They have room service and bring restaurant meals (from their restaurant) to your room. I would go back again. Underground parking was very convenient at $10 overnight.

The Best Western was reasonably priced compared to other motels within the Hobart CBD. It is at a fantastic location with most tour companies picking up from here. The motel was clean, comfortable and had great, friendly and helpful staff.

Trip to Hobart was fantastic. Stayed at the Best Western hotel for two nights. Barbara and Lincoln were very helpful and ensured we had a good stay. The bed was comfortable. A standard king room with a balcony . The view was beautiful. Room was clean and neat. The pizza from the restaurant was nice. Location from the hotel to the city centre was 15 minutes walk . Sightseeing definitely recommend the Mona museum . Catch the ferry from Franklin wharf $55 posh pit return with couple of drinks and canapé or $22 standard price return Regards Brenda .( Perth , WA)

Very tired decor and extremely uncomfortable beds in the 2 bedroom apartment. Photos on their site are very deceiving as they look modern but in reality the rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. One very small bathroom with only a shower and one very small basin for a family of 4 is just not adequate. Kitchen was pretty good. Lounge furniture sparse and uncomfortable and old. Won't be back.

We stayed in the Harrington 2 bed apartment for 3 nights and it was way too long. The beds are very uncomfortable and the decor tired. There was only only very small bathroom with one little basin and the lounge had no coffee table and the couches are hard and uncomfortable. The noise at night from the traffic was terrible and we could hear our neighbor in the room next door. Overall we would like to have left after one night but we had prepaid for 3 so we stayed but now have sore necks and backs from the very bouncy uncomfortable beds. The hotel needs to update the photos on its website to fit what's really there not the lovely modern photos it shows. Will not go back.

We booked our room online a few days before arriving, and it seemed like we got the worst room in the place. No balcony, and a view of a brick wall. This place is out dated and needs a revamp. Save your money and stay somewhere nicer.

Excellent Service. The staff were very friendly helpful and great at giving advise and information on what we should do during our stay and where we should go whilst in Hobart. Lovely to be able to see the Architecture of the inner city residential ares whilst also being in the CBD. Will return!!

Room was spacious. Very close to the city centre, walking distance to Salamanca Market. Wifi was fast enough. Our room had a balcony facing the street which was relatively quiet too. Good for the price.

Great city location, however very noisy area and renovations being done on site that were unaware until checking in, for a major city hotel no Netflix! Restaurant and staff very nice. Great value too, however needs updating.

stayed for three nights in a two bedroom apartment Harrington apartment . really good on the top floor with views over the city and mount wellington . parking is under cover and secure . walked to salamanca markets and restaurants close by to everything. also had a small kitchen and big bathroom for family of four with teenagers would stay again

We visit Hobart on a regular basis for business & pleasure, we've been trying a few different places out, we won't go back here. We don't expect luxury for this price but we do like to be reasonably comfortable, i.e, we don't want to charge our lap top or boil the kettle on the floor in the corner of the room. We booked the King room with balcony. Thankfully the bed was comfortable, but not much after that. No desk, no lounge chairs, as advertised that attracted us to this property. There were 2 cheap looking dining chairs to sit on at a small table in the middle of room. We had to charge our lap top on the floor in the corner where the only power point was, there are empty spaces where furniture once was. My husband went to boil the kettle on the floor in the corner as it was the only accessible power point in the room. Until he realised he could do it in the pokey bathroom beside the toilet. That's OK if you are staying in cheap budget motel. Parking is uncomfortable down a very steep, boom-gated driveway, parking spots are limited, meaning you drive around and have to reverse back when nothing is available in that bay, and costs an extra $10 per day. The balcony is useless with only standing space along side a huge air-conditioning box. On the second floor you hear a lot of traffic noise and we were woken by loud conversations at 2.30 am in the car park below our room. I had to stand on a chair to re-hook the curtains. We have visited Hobart 3 times this month and for the same price you can get way better accommodation.

A huge disappointment. The hallways and rooms smelt like dirty cigarette smoke, a change in carpet is necessary. The location is not great. Mini bar is overpriced. The only positives are that the bed was comfortable & the pizza bar down stairs was good. Will not be returning to any Best Western again.

The hotel that we stayed in has great location , it is almost walking distance to most of the places we want to view. We walked to wharf, eateries and its surroundings. It is also a short drive to Sandy Bay and Mt Wellington. Have had fantastic day at Mt Wellington ! Worth a trip to this mountain top. We loved the eateries at Sandy Bay and spent an afternoon there.

Only stayed overnight on a business trip, checked in extremely late at night, I had a few issues with my booking and found the receptionist was excellent, worked through it. Great beds & pillows, breakfast was the normal thing, Rooms were good sized, bathroom was fine, location is great, yes I'd stay there again for sure,

I did not stay here but attended a two day conference here. I am a Coealiac, vegatarian. I was very impressed with my food. Morning and afternoon tea was separately wrapped and clearly labeled. Lunch was clearly labeled what was gluten free for me. Food was delicious.

It was a nice and comfortable place to stay and dine in, as it was raining on that night. the food was great. the staffs was friendly and very accommodating. it a little walk and quite around there but it was good

Extremely friendly staff, I found the rooms a little tired, but great location, parking for $10 a day right next door which is so convenient. Fabulous brekky, easy check in and out, great location. Would recommend staying if looking for a bed for the night. Cant fault the staff.

The hotel is uphill on bathurst street , two blocks walk to elizabeth street, shopping district. Room is plenty of space with comfortable facilities,including electric kettle, iron, iron pad, closet, hanging sticks and flat screened TV. Bathroom with bathtub, hot and cold shower. The fitness on lower ground floor, free wifi is available in room.

Went for a leisure trip with my gf and had a rather decent stay at this hotel. Location although slightly off from the central shopping area by just 2 to 3 mins walk, it is probably the only decent 4 star hotel of its kind around the area. Had a decent gym and coin operated laundry. Quite strategically located though to get to other areas of Hobart such as Sandy Bay or Elizabeth Pier.Would have been absoutely value for money if not for the lousy high speed internet connection in our room. Wouldn't really mind returning but hope they can sort out the wifi issue.

Stayed a total of three nights over the Easter Break at this establishment. The experience (in the main) was totally average. The room was average and the service was average. Nothing special and what this means is that there is no compelling reason to stay here. The room itself was old, but clean. We paid $162.00 per night to stay and seeing it was Easter this is probably what a room in Hobart is worth. One part of our Best Western Hobart experience was below average. One morning we had breakfast at the hotel- a big mistake! The breakfast was expensive, the food luke-warm and limited in choice. I would have loved to try some fresh Tassie produce, but this would have required a little imagination. Something that is obviously lacking in this establishment. Look by all means stay here, just don't expect too much.

We booked a room on Expedia and needed a room to accommodate 3 people. We were given a level 1 tiny room with a queen bed and a single rollaway bed. I called reception straight away to see if we could upgrade but there was not possibility as they were completely full due to public holidays. I did check again the next day but the only upgrades possible would not have made any difference to the bedding configuration for our family. But staff did all they could be us. The hotel is central to everything and walking was easy. Carpark is available and was given to us free as a courtesy for our room being small.

We stayed for 7 days, our room was spacious, clean, bathtub and shower. Room was serviced daily, with towels and bedding replaced. Postion in Bathurst street, is close to stop number 4, for airport shuttle bus. Just around the corner , short walk in Collins street. Restaurant and bar, gym .Reception Friendly and helpful for advice on tours and taxis. Curry house nearby, nice tasty meals. Also the Shamrock for great, generous pub lunch or dinner, generous and good value servings. Around the corner Liverpool street, wii take you straight into CBD centre. Walk to Salamanca markets.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Staff were all lovely & eager to please. Comfy beds, huge room with clean amenities. Fantastic location with view of Mt Wellington & short walk into town of Hobart. Would definitely go back to this hotel.

Came here with the family. Family room is spacious but so dated with stains on carpets and curtains which h were also falling off the railings. Toilet was very average. We stayed here ten years ago when it was the Mecure. Unfortunately nothing has changed.

Best Wedtern was easy to find. It has well kept apartments. Parking was an extra fee & street parking minimal during the day (however plenty of parking for overnight). Good location - plenty of restaurants/shopping nearby.

Happy with all of the 3nights stay, just was disturbed by high pitch noise from a night club, that kept my husband and I awake from early hours of the morning. Clean and comfortable bed linen, excellent internet service,friendly hotel staff. Happy to stay in this hotel again.

Stayed at the Best Western whilst on business. Great elevation so good views over the visible parts of Hobart. On a high point in the City, a little away from the hub and the entertainment / restaurant area but still the stroll down the hill and the stroll back added to my daily steps tally. Great rooms, kept very clean and tidy by the staff. Reception has tons of info on Hobart / Tasmania to help with any trip planning.

The hotel is located within walking distance to the centre. It provide with a good breakfast. I also like the parking facility provided with reasonable rate of AUD10 / day. The staffs at the reception are very polite and helpful.

Hotel was fair value without being anything special. The room was large & reasonably comfortable with a balcony looking over the city. An easy 15 minute walk to Salamanca Markets & the docks. It is on a hill so the walk home has a bit of uphill. Very small gym with a few pieces of equipment, no pool. Restaurant & bar on-site.

The Best Western , 156 Bathurst Street, Hobart is a lovely Hotel. It is only a few blocks from the water/docks, shopping precinct and restaurants. I walked everywhere, its a lovely city, and having the hotel so close was wonderful, as I was on my own, and felt so safe, even at night. The staff are accommodating, and the rooms are clean and functional Room service was prompt and the food was delicious. The Best Western, Hobart is a great hotel, and I recommend it highly..

We spent three nights at The Best Western during March and found it pretty comfortable. The restaurant was really good, great staff, delicious food and they have happy hour so drinks were reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely and had good knowledge of the area and touristy things to do. Parking was only $10 a day which was pretty good and the car park had plenty of available spaces. Close to all the shops but on a hill, I have some mobility problems so struggled with that a bit, just be aware of that if you have trouble walking on hills. It was busy so a little noisy. The bathrooms are really echo-y so when someone flushed the toilet or used the toilet it woke us up. No big deal though and the only reason I didn't give five stars. Much better than the previous hotel we stayed at where someone used our shower while we were out and left their long hair wrapped around my new soap I had bought!! And used some of my other products! Balmoral on York in Launceston. Ewwww! Made me completely paranoid about hotels.

Recently had 3 nights and was happy to say our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and good room service. Food enjoyable. Happy hour each afternoon. Definitely stay again. Had to pay $10 per day for parking.

I accidentally booked and paid for 3 nights in March instead of February and was told there was no refunds. Reception desk wasnt helpful at all when we arrived. They wouldn't change our booking or refund us. Very disappointing way to start our holidays when I can see they are now fully booked for the days we booked incorrectly.

Our room was clean and bed was comfortable, staff very polite and helpful. Parking available, great location a short walk to shops and eateries. After staying in a couple of dodgey aibnb's this was a pleasant change!

I was choosing between several hotels when booking and decided on this one based on the name. The price was good, location seemed ok - though on the top of of one of the many hobart cbd hills (not scenic though). I stayed for four nights. On check in I was given a room on the first floor. There was a terrible squealing noise in the aircon so I went to the desk and was promptly changed to a fourth floor room which I appreciated. There was a noticable difference between the corridor furnishings on the first and fourth floors - 4th definitely more recently updated. The room itself was comfortable, and the bed and aircon modern. The next morning was an early awakening as the hotel is clearly used for tour buses. People talking and bus engines running. Fortunately I was now on the fourth floor - though the sound carried upwards significantly - had I still been on the 1st floor it would have been very unpleasant. There were buses every morning and afternoon that I stayed except one. The hotel staff are very professional and polite - no concerns there. But, having walked around and scouted the alternatives, I would stay at a different hotel next time.

Stayed for 4 nights in Feb on the 1st floor near the corner. The road noise was awful! I recommend everyone asks for a room on the 4th or 5th floor at the end away from the corner. Luckily I had headphones with me so I wore them at night to get some sleep. Walls in the rooms seemed very thin, when my neighbours had a shower it sounded like a train was passing by. WiFi was free but I would get disconnected about every 20 mins, Very annoying. Location was good with a short walk to the harbour and the main shopping area. Room was ok but rather unflattering. Rooms will need updating soon. The curtains stunk of smoke! They really need cleaning or replacing. House keeping was great, so nice to come back to a clean room every day. Enjoyed my time in Hobart. The Best Western was ok but next time I will most likely try another hotel.

I stayed here one night after a trip as a hub for the next trip. Service was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. No noise from the street. However, I could clearly hear my neighbours and there tv. The hotel is definitely outdated and needs some work. Nevertheless had a good night sleep. The price is too high according to my opinion, mainly because the hotel needs work.

I stay in Best Western Hotels round the world and they all seem to be of a satisfactory standard. Hobart Best Western was comfortable, clean and friendly staff. My only "Grip" was the fact that I had to pay $20.00 for a tomato cocktail thought that was a little extreme. Hotel Parking is good and undercover.

Comfortable hotel with easy access to city center and surroundings. It is an older hotel that could do with some updates. In saying, staff are very friendly and helpful. Happy hour is on offer daily and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are average but clean. Would recommend for a short stay. Value for money.

Nor here nor there, just an average hotel.The price was very high for the sort of installation that we were offered.Daycore is dated and there is not enough staf.Wayfinding is almost non existing and couldn't find the gym unless asking someone for it.

From Launceston Best Western to Hobart Best Western to finish off our trip. Must say the room service and the food was great and quick. Your in walking distance to anything you want, you need yo pay for parking buy you also get free WiFi which balances things out. We would deffinetly stay here again room was clean and also large enough for two people with your own balcony.

Loved the location of BW Hobart only a 10 mins walk to Elizabeth St Mall and Myers! Lots of cafes and restaurants to go to everywhere. Excellent services by all staff @ hotel during our stay. So many places to visit esp the Wicked Cheese, Barilla Bay Oyster farm and fresh really hugh sweet cherries and apricots to pick from the fruit farm!

I had one night stay here for a recent work trip. I had stayed here many years ago and it looks the same, the bathroom is not as pictured! very basic, small, shower over tub (if your tall it may be an issue) could do with some TLC. On a positive, parking was very cheap!

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Hobart for 2 nights for a business trip. The hotel is in a great location and only a 5-10 minute walk from the cbd and wharf. The hotel rooms are a ok size and it is clean and corfortable. The bathroom is an ok size as well or though no extractor fan. It is a little noisy being next to the road but this was not an issue for me. The restaurant served a good selection of food and drinks and the steak I had was excellent. The only negative comment I would make was that the bar and restaurant was not open after 9. All in all a very good experience and good value for money. Would recommend.

This hotel was just what we needed for this trip. It was close to the main shopping area and a number of bars and restaurants that were definitely worth a visit. The room was clean and tidy, and we enjoyed having the balcony. Wifi was quick and reliable.

Super clean, great aircon and fantastic staff. Super close to markets and walking distance to city. Beds were so comfy and shower pressure was great. Our room had a hidden fridge which was also very handy.

Modern, clean and great value, the Hobart Best Western Hotel was great for our recent trip. A short walk away from Constitution Dock, Salamanca market. There's plenty of restaurants nearby, 3-4 car hire businesses literally next door, and underground parking if you need it.

A little on the expensive side, but we did stay at the busiest time of year! Reception team very welcoming and very helpful. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom a little outdated. Breakfast was ok, plenty of choice. Overall the hotel would benefit from some minor renovations

A very pleasant place to stay when visiting Hobart. Central to the main centre of Hobart. Comfortable rooms and easy to move around. Highly recommend. Very clean and friendly staff. Has a good gym that I used daily.

This is a hotel that just does the job. The beds are very comfortable and it is clean....the breakfast is reasonably priced... it's with walking distance from Salamanca Square-about 20 minutes, and there are several car rental agencies in the same block... Nothing special but if you just need somewhere to stay it's ok...

Whilst the exterior is a little old, the rooms are renovated and very comfortable. Individual aircon is good. King sized bed was great. The location is only a short walk (10 minutes) to the waterfront. Staff are friendly and courteous. We had room service on the first night which was promptly delivered and very nice (lamb pizza and Caesar salad). $3 coffees get the day started. Coin operated laundry is good to use. Not a 5 star motel, but has everything you need!

Modern decoration for two beds family room whereas only one wash room is not convenient. The location is good. The service front desk is helpful. It is suggested to provide shuttle bus from airport...

Clean and tidy, nothing fancy but comfortable - had the Harrington room, decent size kitchen, meals and family area, and two good size rooms. Friendly staff, cleaning ladies were cheerful. Handy location to main area of Hobart, would consider staying there again.

Hotel is right in the city centre and abt 20mins walk to the Salamanca market and the wharve area next to Mures restaurant. Room facilities are clean and relatively basic. Breakfast spread is a run of the mills. Wifi speed is abysmal in the room, but much better out in the lobby. If you are keen for an outdoor morning run, it's abt a 20mins run to the Tasmania botanical garden and the esplanade area.

The hotel is very close to Hobart city, with the wharf is a short walk away. Clean, plenty of coffee packets provided, simple styling in the room. The only complaint was the bed needed to be replaced - ironic considering the card from the manufacturer encouraging you to "take the bed home with you".

We have stayed in other Best Western Hotels but were disappointed with this one. We were on the 1st floor and only in for one night at the front of the building. The bath had a large damaged area and the carpet was very old stained and looked like there were cigarette burns in it, even though the staff said it was non smoking hotel.

Clean comfortable room in a mid range but not overly large hotel. Very good breakfast in terms of value and choice. Decent dinner menu. 10 minutes walk to the waterfront and Salamanca market. Tours pick up from this hotel.

The hotel was somewhat dated and the first desk staff were most helpful. The breakfast menu is reasonable but not great. The room was cleaned everyday and new clean towels provided every day. The room has decaf coffee as well. In summary, it was good value for money.

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times now for work trips, had an issue on my first stay but Manager Hammond sorted that out pretty quick and since then i have been looked after really well. Great hotel in a great location but service and ensuring evrything in the room works is most important to me and the last few stays have been smooth and really good

On 13 Nov 2018 around 8.40am a fire alarm was activated and no announcements were make at all. We just follow the rest to walk down the exit stairs. The fire warden were all just gathered around outside the hotel and no head count was accounted for. Less than 3 minutes the fire engine arrived and went straight up to investigate the fire incident. 5 minutes later no announcement make again and was directed to go back into the hotel. This hotel is situated on an uphill and walking for elderly not so convenient at all. The breakfast was just average.

Wasnt overly impressed to see the spa bath had its jets remove and holes where they were meant to be or that we werent told it wasnt operational as i had 2 very excited kids and myself looking forward to a spa. The worst part though was coming back from breakfast at 9.30am on the day we were checking out to find our door wide open and a maintenance man inside painting. We had all our luggage inside as well as my handbag. He was in no hurry to leave and told us he'd been called to say we'd left which the reception told us was not true. The lovely receptionist was as horrified as we were about our intruder but it has left a bad taste and im not sure ill be staying there when i come back down in 6months

This hotel is obsolete. The bathroom is small and non-functional. The shower in the wall is difficult to use. Our room on the 2nd floor have a horrible view. Bugs in the room.  Dust and dirt in the wardrobe.

Great value for your money and staff was excellent, also they had great knowlage of the food and beers,wines. also easy walking distance to a lot of shops and the water front close to other pubs and food places.

This motel is a great spot to spend a night or two without breaking the bank. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. All the basic motel provisions are here - tea and coffee in room with limited mini bar items. Ironing board and iron, hair dryer and toiletries provided. Room service was prompt but food was average. I ordered breakfast scrambled egg which seemed to have extender in it and bacon was a bit leathery. My room service breakfast café latte was average also.

This motel is located centrally in cbd where it is within easy walking distance of most attractions. Good value for money considering its location. Could not fault the staff who were professional and very helpful. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was of a very good quality and reasonably priced. The big downfall was that the room was tired and in need of renovation and the bathroom was very basic with no exhaust fan. That being said, not too much time was spent in the room apart from sleeping.

Friendly caring staff. Great value and quiet location, walking distance to waterfront and Salamanca Markets. Clean spacious rooms and comfortable beds and pillows. Have stayed here 12 nights over the last few months and am also staying another 11 nights before Christmas

Hotel is in a good , central location. Rooms are nice enough, i had a good one with a balcony and a good view of the city. Service is ok. There is a restaurant downstairs that i didnt eat at, but seems popular enough.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights and thought it was a lovely place to stay. It was close walking distance to the mall, and parking underneath for only $10 a night. There is a restaurant on site, and we had a buffet breakfast which was very nice. Bed - the best Pillow - even better! Sooo comfortable. Good wifi , very clean, friendly staff. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here twice, first time was fine and that's why we came back. Second time we were greeted from a man on the front desk sachin, terrible customer service skills. Very rude and abrupt for someone being in his position. Better yet booked a king bed, went to our room he decided to give us 2 x singles. Went down to see him and told him he gave us the wrong room. Didn't say a word, no apology, just threw us the key. Would not come back on that rudeness and arrogance alone. Admit you screwed up, apologise and actually show you care otherwise get a new job where you don't have to deal with people.

This hotel has the most helpful and friendly staff, great internet speed and is very clean and conveniently located. We stayed there many times and will definitely stay there again! We look forward to our next stay!

This Best Western is a very modern building in a quiet locality. Its rooms are spacious with all the facilities you would expect of a good 4* hotel. We had the Harrington Suite on the 5th top floor which consisted of a large lounge / diner, a fully-equipped kitchen, shower room and two bedrooms, one of which had a king-size bed and the other, two singles / a double. There was ample storage space. An added bonus was the guest laundry facility on the 4th floor as we had been travelling around Aus. for 15 days and with another 15 days to go, this gem of a hotel gave us the opportunity to recharge our batteries plus doing our laundry . Top tip :- from the airport you have the option of a taxi to the door for $50, or take the Skybus to Elizabeth Street for $19.50 BUT the walk up to the hotel with luggage is a little daunting. Housekeeping was excellent and all the staff were friendly, informative and professional. Has an excellent restaurant in Embers with a happy hour !!! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend our suite ( Room 508 ).

i have stayed here quite a few times and like its sister in launceston the outside looks dated but they have put some work into the interior. Their biggest downfall is that their blinds on the windows actually don't stop the sunlight coming in at 6am in the morning when I don't have to be up at that time. The little things are sometimes the big things and in this case its this type of ting that lets them down. If you can get a good deal its not a bad place to stay otherwise its can be over priced especially when yo have to pay for parking as well. centrally located so an easy walk to get a bite to eat or a walk to the water.

Partner and I got the kingsize room, the bed was absolutely luscious! We both slept amazingly in the bed. Was disappointed to see an outdated bathroom with a shower curtain.. And the kitchenette did not have a toaster so we had to order an expensive room service which did not taste overly impressive.

Good position and vale for money were the deciding factors n choosing this hotel - and we were not disappointed! Friendly service, good sized room with a comfortable bed and a good shower. Perhaps a bit old fashioned - but this is the charm of Hobart! Lovely breakfast with good coffee - all in all a pleasant stay!

The hotel is in a good location, easy to walk to constitution dock, Salamanca market, Mona ferry etc which was great. The hotel itself is very dated, the bathroom was awful really run down and disappointing - definitely not 4 stars ! The bed however was comfortable and the room itself was fairly spacious with tea, coffee, fridge, tv and a balcony. The staff all seemed friendly and happy to help. We ordered room service once but it was awful / reheated or microwaved eggs, stale croissants and watery coffee so I would recommend eating out . There are some nice cafes nearby for breakfast - check out Dandy Lane or Small Fry.

We opted again for the Best Western for a family weekend away. Clean, comfortable with a convenient location within walking distance of all the major attractions and Salamanca Markets etc. Breakfast buffet was varied with good selection of hot and cold food options. We opted for 2 bed room suite which was large and good value. Parking on site $10 per night which is reasonable.

Was expecting the worst hotel stay thanks to google maps (the location didn't look that great). I ended up having the best stay! Location wise, it's PERFECT! The staff are super friendly but I should've expected that from how friendly everyone is in Tasmania. We pretty much walked everywhere thanks to the location of the hotel. The rooms are super clean and the bed and pillows were insanely comfortable! I guess the only thing I can think to complain about is the bed was a roller bed so kind of annoying to have it roll around when you're trying to lean up against the wall. Other then that useless information it was an awesome stay.

Our 3 night stay at BW Hobart was excellent...All staff were amazing and so helpful. We enjoyed being able to have breakfast downstairs before starting our day... Carpark underneath hotel was so convenient.. We had room 408 nice views over to Mt Wellington and we watched the mountain scenery change as the snow fell up there.. it does get street noise though if you are not a good sleeper... So close to farmer markets and Salamanca markets

We booked a family room and was very happy with the room, beds and decor. There were tea, coffee and milk. Bedsheets were high quality and pillows were soft. The soap and shampoo were good. The hotel was pretty from the outside as well as from the inside. Breakfast could be improved. Staff were courteous. Fast internet. Hotel was located close to restaurants, which was great.

Close to the town and the harbour.Easy access and spacious room with lots of light and ability to walk outside onto balcony area.The price was amazing for what I needed the room for and had all the amentities that were required for my business trip.

The Best Western is a tired hotel in need of an update. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the property, but it just has not had a serious renovation in a very long time. One concern we had were the sliding doors to the balcony that do not close. The latches are damaged and there is no way to keep the door in place. As a result you hear the crossing light sounds all night long. Both our rooms had this problem so it is not limited to just one balcony. On the plus side, the employees are all friendly and parking for $10 per night is secure and good. One final mention is the breakfast. The western items are mostly acceptable but the asian dishes are disgusting. There were a lot of Chinese staying at this hotel and none of them touched whatever was in those two bain-maries. I would suggest you either get rid of the asian selections all together or perhaps try for something very basic like fried rice with egg.

This hotel has a lot to offer!! Fantastic clean generously sized rooms that are spotless! Nothing was too much bother for any of the staff be it housekeeping, reception staff, restaurant or bar staff. Friendly, warming very relaxed setting fantastic food & a really really pleasurable stay. Thank you.

Me and a friend staying in the hotel took advantage of the happy 2 hours and decided to dine in..... started with the oysters.... yummm!!! Also had the garlic bread.... mmmmm so good!!! I ordered the steak..... ohhh my god!!! Cooked to perfection, which is hard to get a good rare steak!!!! Best steak since I was in Argentina!!!! My friend had the lamb.... farm girl, so knows her lamb.... reakons it was the best she's had in a long time!!!! The service was VERY attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend!!!

A central location . A few minutes walk to restaurants and cafes. A down hill walk to Salamanca Place and Brook Street Pier. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a lounge area with a relaxing atmosphere and a restaurant with a varied menu.

We were two couples on holiday traveling to Tasmania for the first time. So we needed a little extra information assistance and let me tell you guys their staff was extra friendly and helpful. Also they provided quick check in and check out. Very clean rooms with the King Coil Beds. They are so comfortable! Great breakfast and great valu. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem. The location is terrific. Parking was only $10 a day.

Our room was one of their renovated rooms, clean & well laid out. Bathroom is old, but functional. Staff were friendly & prompt always happy to offer suggestions for dinner and things to do. Heating was great & we didn't hear our neighbors the whole stay.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Very impressed. From the moment we walked in the door to check-in to check-out it was a great experience. We were upgraded to the 5th floor with great views of Mount Wellington. Organising snow on the mountain for us was an added bonus - thankyou!!!! The room was clean and spacious, had everything we needed. Loved the king size bed, which was also very comfortable. Brilliant location - we walked to most places. Happy hour each night was appreciated and Embers Restaurant pizzas delicious. Staff were friendly, professional and very helpful with directions and recommendations. Secure parking for $10 a day was reasonable I thought, and the property was easy to find.

Room was ok a bit dated but comfortable holes in curtains Tried the restaurant meal was ok garlic and herb bread seemed like frozen bread burnt mains were fine albeit slow 45 mins for a main meal delivery with only a few eating. However a loud group at bar that is right next to restaurant were swearing and were never asked to refrain. We didn't complain but after the meal my wife mentioned it to the supervisor and did not think that it was anything to be concerned about. Spoke to the reception and not their issue we were being too sensitive, Most annoying for us is not that they didn't stop the sears ring but that they didn't accept our complaint. There are more professional places to stay in hobart and we will as we stay there monthly.

Started my holiday in Tassie here and it was just fine. Nothing extraordinary. Clean, quiet, it served its purpose as a place to crash each night. Rooms including bathroom and lighting are dated and could be refreshed.

This was the second time I've stayed at the Best Western and my experience was a less pleasant one. The front desk receptionist who checked me in seemed almost annoyed at my presence and did not smile once. Room was fine- clean, all necessary amenities. Breakfast took an hour to arrive and sadly it wasn't worth waiting for. I couldn't eat most of it- particularly the poached eggs. *shudders

Recent business trip; room featured a comfortable king bed and balcomy with great views. Central location enables short walk to harbour, Salamanca Place, restaurants and bar. Underground carparking available for $10 night. Free wifi. Embers restaurant featrues wood fire pizzas. Very helpful staff.Looking forward to next visit.

Pros: The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff was quite friendly. View from the room and the bed linnen Cons: Room located on the street side (very noisy!) You could hear the wind blowing (whisle sound) through the balcony doors... The room and bathroom were outdated. $10 parking fee a day.

Check in and check out was very easy and professional. This is a fairly basic hotel that provides all the needs and necessities and is well located and reasonably priced. If possible try to get a room away from the courtyard because smokers tend to congregate out there.

My friend and I came on a spontaneous trip to Hobart and staying at the Best Western was definitely one of the highlights!! We had amazing customer service from Olivia, who helped to check us in and give us advice on what to see and do. We had the best yarn with Tracey, who was an absolute gem at trying to find us recommendations for nachos late on a Saturday night haha. We had so much fun staying here! Our king size room with balcony was very clean and comfortable bed. Central location meant we could walk to Salamanca Market, bars and restaurants. Convenient under cover parking at small charge. Free wifi. We had room service twice. Both times the food arrived promptly served by friendly staff. Room service breakfast menu a little limited but the muesli was very good and generous helping. Bar had good list of cocktails and happy hour. Unlike the rest of the hotel the bar was a bit chilly on the freezing winter night. We will stay here again.

Room was clean. Everything worked fine. Western and Asian breaky choices. Good bar with happy hour. Bit old fashioned (still using shower curtains that constantly stick to you) but close to Dark Mofo events.

This hotel has only the basic facilities. No microwave but happy they have laundry facilities. Little away from city center . They have a restaurant too and tour buses do have pick ups from here. 24 hour check in check out is good. Very quick check out.

Clean, comfortable and very friendly, I actually can't wait to return, staff went above and beyond to make our room comfortable, by means of bed layouts etc, a pillow menu too was a big plus! A massive plus is the room service, the food was so very yummy!! Great place to stay, very close to everything Hobart has to offer.

Needed a hotel close to royal Hobart hospital & found the best western to suit our needs only 10 min walk also walking distance to city centre & Salamanca Room good price clean & everything we needed in room beds comfortable . Reception staff made you feel welcome there is onsite dining area we didn't use so can't comment on meals & prices Good basic hotel & would stay again

Close to a choice of car rentals. 15 minutes walk to waterfront. 10 minutes walk to CBD. Friendly staff. They have a display of brochures of things to do in and around Hobart. Recommended for business or family stays.

The rooms were nice , breakfast was lovely , the lady that served us when we checked out was an angel , so lovely & helpful , nothing was a problem.Under cover parking was a bonus with the weather . :-)

We first stayed here on our honeymoon back in ‘77 when it was called The Westside (newly opened) and owned by Four Seasons, so it brought back great memories for my wife & I (yep still married!). So if you can picture a tastefully refurbed room from the 70s you'll get a feel for BW Hobart. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset from the balcony and dining in-house ‘Embers' for (complimentary) breakfast and when using our welcome drinks vouchers at lunch. Nothing to complain about, we're keen to return.

I'm happy to recommend this hotel to anyone. Nice rooms, great location and friendly staff. The restaurant served delicious food and the bar has great seating areas. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Hobart.

We were very happy with our room , with the comfort of the bed a big surprise, the linen was excellent quality as well , we even checked out the brand of mattress , we were that impressed I always like a balcony so even though it was small , I was very happy to get a room with one for such a reasonable price The location is good , close to everything, we walked to the waterfront and Salamanca place in 10-15 minuets The staff were helpful and friendly

Stayed here on way to visit family. 1st time ever in Tasmania. I have traveled to every state of Australia but never have I been charged $10 to park my car overnight. Not very welcoming. They could do a lot better for the tourist.

The rooms are a little tired however the beds are really comfortable and the price is excellent for hotel in the C B D the restaurant was brilliant for the evening meal and the breakfast had a good selection.As we were on holiday to visit historical places and not spending much time in the hotel it was suitable for what we wanted and I would stay there again.

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it. The weather was rainy but didn't matter as we ate at the in house restaurant each night which had beautiful food and happy hour from 4pm. Very comfortable beds and good amenities. Friendly helpful staff. Easy walking distance to town and the waterfront. Good parking. Would stay again.

This is value for money, great restaurants, great staff, rooms very clean lifts to every floor. Not every room has a walk in shower, please ask if you need it. The function room was marvellous . Happy hour is popular. This is a good choice.

Hobart was the first stop of our Aussie trip. After a long day of flights (Manila-Sydney-Hobart), we finally got to check in at the Best Western Hobart. The location was ok, as Hobart is quite a quaint little town and a lot of places are within walking distance. The only flaw I would say would be is that the hotel is quite dated already.

Its essentially a good motel for a quick stay. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom room which was great however one of the 2 tvs did not work (kept flicking on and off), the room is a bit dated and the tap in the bathroom shot out water at an incredible speed! But the room was clean and the furniture was fine. The location is good too.

Had the most wonderful stay here. Stayed for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly & location was very close to the harbour and main streets of Hobart. The hotel also had a bar and restaurant which was very convenient due to heavy rain during this time. Overall, a great place to stay with kids. Thank you Best Western.

I can't really say anything too positive about this place or anything too negative. It's an average hotel. The staff aren't overly helpful or friendly. The room itself was a bit dated. There are no extra power points and we had to unplug a lamp to charge our phones. The hot water in the bathroom was excessively hot and would scald easily. The tap over sink leaked. The freezer in the fridge didn't freeze and so there were no ice cubes. There was no way to change the temperature. There was mould in the ice cube tray that staff at the front desk were disinterested in. Just average.

Got a deal via Groupon so value was v good - room was clean although there were signs of wear - bed was comfortable- breakfast was included and was good - tv, a/c etc all worked well- parking was reasonable at $10 per day- did not try the restaurant- location was in the cbd and close to everything.

Nice place, great location, walk a block over to get awesome coffee at Capulus Espresso. Room was clean and comfortable and staff helpful. Off-street parking is a bit cramped but adequate. Corridors were a bit dated but room decor was nice and pillow top mattress was great.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Hobart, the hotel is in a great location with lots to do in the area and a nice stroll to the piers, although the walk back will be uphill. There are plenty of eating options close and also a restaurant available at the hotel. Parking was very tight and limited but we found if we generally got back by around 5:00 it wasn't too hard to find a park. 4wd's would find it quite difficult, we had a rav 4 and found we could only park in certain spaces. Parking will cost you $10 per day. Excellent customer service from all staff from reception to bar staff to restaurant staff.

I stayed here for 3 nights, in early April, on a business trip. From the moment I arrived the staff were all lovely, helpful and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. The standard room was a good size and very clean and inviting, with lovely linen. The shower was over the bath, apparently they don't have many rooms with a walk in showers. I didn't hear any noise from the corridor, or outside. There is a mini bar in the room. During our 2 day seminar, our group was extremely well looked after by Sean, who was friendly, funny, professional, and made sure we were well catered for. Don't miss the really delicious takeaway cappuccino's they sell at the bar. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Hobart.

This hotel in the middle of Hobart is a very good place to stay -- both for business and pleasure. They have a very good service and have friendly staff -- all eager to assist. May their tribe increase !

This is a genuine view of my of my stay at Best Western,Hobart. I would recommend it to others looking for accommodation in Hobart Tasmania. It was good value and very well situated in Hobart I wish that I had had more time to explore Hobart more thoroughly. Hopefully next time that I visit there I will.

Booked through groupon and got a great deal. The family room was disappointing but the restaurant staff and food wonderful. Wouldnt have been happy if payed full price for room. Location is quite good.

This hotel was good for our 3 day stay in Hobart. The hotel was very comfortable and the bed was a fabulous way to end our days exploring this lovely city. The staff were courteous and made everything in our stay easy.

The room and bedding is very clear. The breakfast is good. the hotel is not far away from city center. as a reward for first arriving the hotel, they provide a glass of beer for guest when you buy a class of beer.

Room is big, clean and bed is big and comfortable. Location is a bit far to walk to all the point of attractions near harbour front. It's good value for money. Will surely stay again and recommend to others.

We spent three nights at Best Western Hobart in the April 2018. Check-in was very efficiency. We had a room with balcony on 4/F. The room is great, spacious and clean. We have an excellent both city and mountain views throughout the balcony. Many tour brochures were placed at the lobby of Hotel which is good for tourists. The staffs were very helpful and professional. Location of the hotel is great and you can easy to access everywhere in town especially to waterfront within 15 minutes. Best Western Hobart is the best value for stay.

Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable Coffee machine was a nice touch Staff where excellent in all areas Breakfast was great, they even had crumpets Locations was close to many things Would stay again

Had to make last minute changes to our trip, so booked in here as prices were so good. Photos are very accurate and would probably choose a balcony room next time as felt a little claustrophobic. BUT beds were very comfortable, room was clean, great hot showers, happy hour good for G and T's. Very warm rooms but could occasionally hear neighbours showering. Check in and out was friendly and quick. The parking is $10 per day, but we found that the street parking was fine (and free) as long as you moved by 9am. Would recommend if you have a car

We found the location of this motel amazing it certainly did not fail in that area. It was so easy to get from the motel to any part of the city either by car or walking. Plenty to do within the location plus the Markets on the Sunday morning wow they are amazing just a 5 minute walk away. Would certainly stay again and recommend to friends heading down to Hobart.

Great stay, such friendly staff, awesome breakfast range and would recommend highly and I for one will definitely be staying again. Great value for money and conveniently located just a short 9 minute stroll to the hospital and central city

We found the room to be fantastic; comfy king size bed, large screen TV, lovely shower spray, heating and cooling as needed. Breakfast at the downstairs restaurant was delicious and parking, although it cost extra, was very convenient. The downside was how noisy it was. You can hear all the plumbing (showers running and toilets flushing), banging of doors down the corridor and traffic from the streets below.

It was overall good. Only if there had been early check in option, then it would have been even better. Rooms were airy. Lounge was fancy. Even there is washroom facility in the lounge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet menus are good.

We stayed there for a week in March April 2018 and were very happy with the service we received. We had a small problem with the room and the staff were very helpful and the problem was fixed with no fuss. (thank you Emma, you are awesome ). We would definately stay there again.

Lovely hotel, excellent service from staff, clean rooms and central location. The rooms on the top floor offer great views of the city.The hotel also helps to arrange day tours on request and the staff is very friendly.

Great place and hotel .Staff were very helpful rooms very clean food good and reasonable.Hotel was situated in a good spot easy access to the town and not far from the water front plenty of shops restraunts cafes around boat trips and lots of organised trips around the island.

Convenient position in Hobart, with lots of advice of thi gs to do. Rooms were clean and functional with comfy beds, we ate both lunch and dinner at their restaurant and had amazing food served in quickly and staff were very friendly. Checkin and checkout was very quick and the reception staff were very friendly and supplied great advice for Hobart and surrounds.

Good location but Hobart probably doesn't have badly located hotels. Very clean. Friendly staff. The bathrooms and furnishings are fairly old and lack character. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced.

Rooms have been recently freshend up. Location to Hobart CBD puts everything within walking distance including Salamanca and Battery Point. Embers Restaurant offers a range of meals including Room service. A popular draw card is the 4 on to 6pm Happy Hour. $5 schoonens, basic spirits or wine. Our 4 night stay proved to be both comfortable and relaxing. Thankyou BW Hobart.

Motel was great. Good location. Close to shops and places to eat. Lovely clean rooms with king beds. The staff are very Friendly. Willing to assist at all times. Breakfast buffet was great with plenty to choose from.

Our stay at your hotel was comfortable and very pleasant. The only issues were that I booked a room for 3 adults and ended up with one which had to have a rollaway bed brought in and there were only 2 cups, glasses etc. The checkin person was stern and unmoved by my concerns in this regard.

Thank you for providing a cot for my son at no charge. The service was excellent. Beds were really comfortable including the pull out bed. Car parking very accessible. Enjoyable trip, thank you very much.

Friendly staff, clean room, good location. The WiFi was very good. The breakfast was good but service in the restaurant for dinner was slow. All in all a very good hotel for the price. I would stay there again.

Best Western was a very good choice for our family on recent trip. Very good location, could walk to waterfront and city centre easily. Rooms very affordable through Groupon special. Breakfast expensive and not really value for money.

Stayed here for a conference late last year. Hobart is a lovely little town and well worth the visit. I've been twice now and will definitely make my way back again. In terms of places to stay I would say the Best Western is completely unremarkable. Rooms are somewhat tired and pretty average. Nice bath which seemed to be cleaned well when I arrived. Cleaners were meticulous and very good. tired.

Reception staff where fantastic, small mix up with our room, which was fixed straight away, on first floor, no noise from Bathurst St Hotel needs updating, but great beds, always cleaned professionally

This is a great place to stay in Hobart. I found the staff incredibly helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable and as a lone female traveller I felt very safe.my only suggestion to other sole travellers would be to return to hotel prior to 10 pm if driving and leaving car in underneath carpark. You need to use a phone, identify yourself and have the lift sent down which is great however you are alone during this time. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay there again

I booked this hotel because of its location, price and parking availability beside the hotel (pay). The room was basic but comfortable - decor and bathroom could do with a bit of updating. Breakfast was satisfactory. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Ten minute walk down to the harbour front which was OK, coming back up the slope was a bit more of a chore!

Had a three night stay in this hotel. The king size bed was very comfortable, there was a good size tv, good airconditioning (surprisingly necessary on a hot day in Hobart) but other than that the room was beginning to show signs of age. The bathrooms are small so only room for one at a time really. Overall though a good well priced and well located hotel. We had room service one day and the burger was the best I've eaten for a long time, great chips too!!! I would stay again as I thought it was value for money when some of Hobarts hotels can be a bit overpriced and after all you are only using the room to sleep in and use the bathroom. The staff were lovely and we were warmly greeted every day. Best Western you always know what you are getting so there are no surprises.

We spent two nights in this Hotel. It is in the city center, with lots of excellent places to eat dinner and high-quality cafés around. The beds were comfy and the room size was also pretty good. The cars on the street can be a bit noisy (so do not expect to use your balcony on a weekday) and the bathrooms are a bit out of date. However, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant at the ground floor has good food to offer.

The rooms and the breakfast were adequate without being brilliant. If you need to park a car there, take great care approaching the barrier uphill on the way out, particularly if you're not used to the car. The location is OK if you are happy walking or want to drive, but it is a little way from the hub.

Very comfy king size bed. Nice crisp bed linen. Older style decor but it was actually very pleasant. Good air con and room service very reasonably priced. Fastest room service for ice buckets etc .Close to everything in Hobart town, Salamanca and Constitution docks. I would suggest a trip to Woolworths in Elizabeth st to get necessities before you book in as no mini mart nearby.

The location was excellent and you could walk down to Salamanca market, the Mall and nearby caffes. Close to Battery Point and an easy drive up to Mount Wellington. The room is spacious and the King size bed was super comfortable. Will definitely come back.

Great location in Hobart's CBD, just a 5-10 minutes walk from The Salamanca and the harbour. The room was a bit outdated but overall OK apart from the noise from the street, even in a weekend. Friendly and helpfull staff

Stayed here in a 2 bedroom suite, bedrooms nice and large with comfortable beds, large lounge to relax in, all rooms had balconies, was nice and quiet. Bathroom had excellent walk in rainfall shower. Cheap drinks in bar during happy hour. Good WiFi. Easy walk to everything, although uphill on way back. We had hired a car from Hertz to move on from here, and it was just over the road, which we had not known when we booked.

Value for money comfortable, service always friendly and room service food really good and consistent. Quiet if you stay away from the lifts (buts that's anywhere really) Easy walk to the mall. Beds are comfortable and the view quiet nice.

I was booked for 2 nights and stayed for an extra 1. The rooms were clean, comfy and spacious. The service was good and the meals were nice. There was plenty of safe parking. I had no complaints at all

Wouldn't stay here again...not worth it. Toilet didn't flush properly and was very tiny. One woman on the customer service desk was down right rude, however all housekeeping staff were very polite and respectful. Food was average with burnt pieces and definitely not worth the overblown price.

Stayed here overnight with my fiancée for a quick trip for a 30th birthday. The bed was big and comfortable. The room was spacious. Location was reasonable and was within walking distance to the market and the main shopping of Hobart. Breakfast was a buffet and was very tasty but quite expensive for what it was. However if you have kids they eat free. The bathroom needs an upgrade as there was not enough ventilation for the steam from the shower, which you could tell was an issue from old stain marks of mound on the roof of the bathroom. But that was a minor issue just something they could look into fixing. Overall a very nice stay and would consider to stay here again if we find ourselves in Hobart again.

Stayed here with my parents in a 2 bedroom suite, which was very nice, had all you needed. Very nice strong rainfall shower. Quiet room, despite being on the road. Didn't have food at the hotel, but did enjoy some reasonably priced drinks during happy hour. A short walk to the main shops and cafes, although uphill on the way back. I would stay here again.

Requested an upper level room and got floor one. i was told there were balconies for each room but our room didnt get one. We stayed for a week and booked way in advance but it didnt seem to make much difference. The lady behind the desk wasnt very friendly . But we did have a nice lady when we checked out. Not sure if i would stay there again.

The staff was friendly and helpful with a reasonably priced 24 hr onsite parking. A typical older style hotel which is popular for package tours. Good wifi speed and connection. There is an onsite restaurant if you don't feel like walking out. Quite close to major eating places and the city centre. The rooms have been refurbished recently so they are clean and comfortable. Some slight noises from guests in the corridors from packaged tourist groups and toilet flushing heard from upper floors or adjacent rooms. These are not a major concern as it is expected in older style hotels.

Great hotel, clean rooms, very comfy beds, and delicious breakfast. I was staying for business, and i needed to have a great nights sleep so i was ready for the day ahead, the rooms here were very quiet and i slept like a baby.

We stayed here when we participated in the Cadbury Marathon. It was a short walk to Constitution Dock and Battery point with plenty of restaurants in an easy walking distance. The room was clean and serviced daily. The restaurant downstairs was good and sold good cheap take-away coffee, perfect for our mornings. We all agreed we would stay here again.

We walked everywhere from here so it was a great spot for us, staff were very pleasant and helpful, restaurant meal was very nice and reasonably priced, update of rooms needed for price charged. Tour brochures provided and good information for travellers.

Restaurant dinner meal was great, good sized meals with many choices. Family room was a great size and perfect for family of 4, with great views and 10 minutes walk to waterfront, or to shops or to restaurants. Parking was available.

A lot of noise from the street. Bad service. Careless manager in case of help. Air conditioning super noisy. Dirty terrace lots of spiderwebs. Construction work, drilling in the hall outside of our room at 8.45am.

Two of us spent four nights at this hotel when we were in Hobart to run the Hobart Cadbury Marathon. It is clean and tidy with particularly helpful and friendly staff. It is close to Salamanca Place and the Waterfront. The hotel restaurant, Embers was good and was staffed by another set of friendly people.

Value for money. Good location - a short walk to most tourist attractions and the cbd in hobart. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. A bit old school but perfectly adequete. Restaurant was great!

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from Salamanca Place and the piers. Everything met our needs, including the wi-fi, breakfast, shower, bed, etc. There was nothing unusually good, but more importantly, there was nothing that was not good.

Our daughter took care of these accommodations and made a good choice. The rooms are good sized and nicely made up. Beds are comfortable. But is showing its age such as paint chips and shower lever not working as examples. Location is excellent. Walking distance to docks and Salamanca Market.

Room 425 was noisy. We woke up several times from road noise and trucks loading. Verandah is a safety hazard as children are able to climb and fall over verandah. There were no child proof locks. The space was very good.

Lovely, clean, big room for a family of four adults. Two seperate living spaces with tvs. Really close to CBD and wharf. Big price tag over the Christmas holidays but I guess that is to be expected these days.

We stayed in the Harrington room which was perfect for our family of four. It was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our room was made up every day and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable, we'll be back!

After driving around Tasmania in 5 days. we booked in to " Best Western " in Hobart. We paid $ 249 for a room on 1 floor. Breakfast was not included.The lady at the reception; Sophie was so sweet and booked us a flight for the next day. We had a bit problem with the air con first, but another lady from the reception came and fixed it for us.

Stayed in a room that was meant to be non-smoking. There were people smoking in the balconies of other rooms and pretty soon our room was stinking of cigarette smoke. This made for a very bad experience especially travelling with a little infant. The room was kept clean every day and the staff were courteous. It is located in a great spot to be able to access the CBD and other places of interest.

Never had a problem with this hotel, it is clean, well managed,easy check in and out,safe parking and the "Embers" restaurant is excellent,the food was delicious and the service very good. The bed was extremely comfortable too.

I arrived the night of the 28th of December. Unfortunately, the room that I had booked was not available and we were accomodate in another room. I allowed it as there were not more rooms available, coming from Darwin, we were traveling the whole day, I was with two toddlers (4 and 3) and the receptionist was very apologetic. However, as I spoke to Duty Manager Tracey Wallace the next day, she seemed upset when I asked her about a change to the actual room that I had booked or some sort of compensation for it... The next day, after coming back from a tour we came back to a room that have not been cleaned and when I asked reception (the same person Tracey Wallace) said that she could provide some towels and coffee and that there were not housekeeping available... when asked to clean the room she said “what do you want” ... isn't it obvious??? TO COME BACK TO A CLEAN ROOM!!! After spending the whole day out and wanting to rest in a clean room! Isn't this one of the aims when you stay in a hotel??? That you don't have to worry and just relax!!! Now we have to spend the night in a filthy room just because it was not served by housekeeping.... very disappointing for the price that I paid !!!

Within walking distance from cbd. Room was a little noisy from traffic and we had a noisy glugging sound from air con. Bed was a nice king size and sooooo comfortable. The staff were very friendly but were suffering from the heat in reception. *note for management- buy your staff a fan, they deserve it!

From the beginning the staff were helpful & even when I was stuck downtown & couldn't get a taxi I called them, & they had one there for me quickly; this is very important to me as I use a walking stick & getting back up the hills is difficult.

Just returned from a very enjoyable four night stay. Great location,all the main points of interest are within easy walking distance. Spacious rooms with a very comfortable bed and the shower in the bathroom was excellent. Ordered room several times and the food was very good and delivered in good time. Nice bar/restaurant area downstairs and all the staff are very polite and helpful. If I'm luck enough to ever visit beautiful Hobart again I would have no hesitation in booking at the Best Western again

We were touring Hobart and stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is located quite centralized with a short walk to the main shopping area (i.e. Elizabeth Mall, Centrepoint and Salamanca Place where the weekend market is being held), all within 5-12 mins. There are also several dinning outlets around the hotel and so even when most shops and eateries in the shopping areas are closed by 5 or 6pm, you can still find food. Our room was 103 and it was quite ok. Would say it was cosy, neat and simple. While most hotel rooms have orange lightings, it does have a mixed of white and orange lightings. While we can have a good view outside our hotel (as there was quite a big space outside but we have no access, what a shame or it would be a perfect balcony)! Almost all the things hotel guests need, they do provide like fridge, coffee making machine, iron and iron board etc, among others. But there is no locker in room. Beds are comfortable and we did have a great rest throughout our stay. Bathroom was ok and there was a bathtub, standard length but quite shallow though. Instead of providing shower gels, the hotel provides pieces of soap instead. Well, it would be better for gels as it can help to reduce wastages and easier to use than the latter. Wifi was fine and stable. And room service was done well. As for the cafe, it's cosy and quite nice and had a good mix of western and asian dishes. The standard western food like sausages, bacon, bread, cakes, baked beans, eggs etc, they also offer congee, stir fried bee hoon (vermicelli), cut fruits and juices, among others. Would say overall food was fine though from we felt that the congee and bee hoon were somehow "off par" than the ones we know, since we are coming from an Asian country who are well familiar with these 2 dishes. Perhaps that's the Australian's way of cooking. Staff were efficient, friendly and polite, used plates were cleared promptly. Staff were friendly, helpful and provided good and clear instructions in getting around the areas. Overall, we had a satisfactory stay here.

Visited Hobart for business during a busy time and stayed here because the price was right. Comfortable, quiet and reasonably convenient. Just what you would expect of a Best Western really. Only real niggle was that half of the cable channels including Sky News were not available on days we stayed.

Arrived on a very wet and windy day and was delighted that the wonderful staff were able to get me into a room straight away. The hotel was spotless and my room was large and well appointed, modern facilities and good size tv, spotless bathroom and a lovely view of the hills from balcony. The food was wonderful, had a woodfired oven pizza one night that was to die for and the buffet breakfast was very good too. Overall this hotel was a delight.

I arrived in hobart and hadn't booked anywhere. This motel was easy to find good location and was priced well. Staff were very helpful on arrival and during my stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. You could look outside the window at the mountains in the background. Definitely would stay again.

This is not one of the better Best Westerns I have stayed at. Poor rooms (mine was clearly one for 2 doubles that they changed to a queen and the set up was very messy). I was also conducting training in the rooms for customers and the room was too hot, the hot water for tea was cold and the overall experience was very poor. Don't think I will be returning here in a hurry.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my parents and it was awesome! The meals in the restaurant are to die for and are very well Priced!! It was a great start to my Tasmanian experience! The host are extremely friendly and very accommodating! Can't wait to stay here in my next trip to Tassie!!!!

Wrong room at check in. Dirty room in the one I was moved to. Soap with hair all over it left in the hotel. The front desk staff was nice and Curtious though. Would not stay here again, one of the poorer quality best westerns

The rooms are big and bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located close to everything. The food and drink is well priced. The meals are very yummy and coffee was perfect. The staff were very helpful.

Stayed 1 night in November for a family celebration in Sandy Bay. Although hotel is a little dated on the outside we were pleasantly surprised how modern the inside is. Reception area and staff were great very helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Thank goodness for air conditioning as it was a particularly hot weekend we were there. About a 20 minute walk to the waterfront. Got a good rate for a Saturday night $184. Happy to stay there again.

We stayed 4 nights. Good value for $640 for 3 adults for a 2 bedroom hotel room. Good location and staff were friendly. Particularly the bar staff for an afternoon drink. Parking was easy for the hire car. Only complaint was the buffet breakfast was terrible so we ate elsewhere and cheaper as well.

Great hotel for first night heaps of restaurants close by staff were great. We walked to town centre maybe 15/20 minute walk to the mall. There's a great Chinese Restaurant just around the corner can highly recommend that.

Spent a few days travelling around Hobart and chose the Best Western. Car Park located underneath, steep drive in and out, gated ..there is a fee of $10/day. Room was very modern and clean, small balcony, with view of Mt Wellington and Hobarts outer suburbs. Location is good as its only a short 5-10 minute walk anywhere around Hobart CBD Took advantage of the Guest laundry on level 4, and did a load of washing and drying..about $4 per load, and $4 to dry. Dinner first night was elsewhere to a place we had been previously, but the other two nights we ate and drank in. Happy Hour starts at 530pm for discounted drink and a bar snack. Restaurant is good, service was good the first night and terrible the 2nd night, massively understaffed and overbooked, i felt sorry for the wait staff as they were running around and quite late in getting food from pick up, and multiple errors ensued. Quality of food is generally very good, however a Sticky Date Pudding should be sticky, and not something just pulled from a fridge..hard and dry! Bar Staff were excellent--cudos to Sean the bar Manager, has done a great job and looked after us well! Overall very happy

Located in a great location, walking distance from the shopping centres and waterfront! The room was in great condition and the staff were very friendly and happy to help out! I would definitely stay here anytime again!

Good clean hotel close to the city. Staff very freindly and helpful Breakfast on offer is of excellent quality.bed was a little humpy and a new mattress maybe required. Choice of beer and wines in bar were very good and the happy hour was useful.

All in all a good value well located place to stay. Easy walk to the shops and the waterfront . An Inexpensive cab ride to just about anywhere you need to go if Hobart's hilly terrain gets a bit much.

Overnight stay in a king bed room. Clean and comfortable but somewhat dated throughout particularly the bathroom. It's not a luxurious hotel but is fine for a business trip or short stay. Friendly staff.

Lovely staff; clean well stocked room. Walking distance to markets, restaurants etc and the comfiest bed ever! The meals are excellent; best lamb meal i have ever had and we even got to take ice cream sundays back to our room; thanks for catering to our inner child.

We had very comfortable stay there for 12 days only comment is that the WIFI is very poor and unreliable in the rooms on the 4 th floor the bed was great better than the one at home only other comment is that the door and drawers in the room male a lot of noise as they are spring loaded and hard to close quietly

A great hotel for an overnight stay, and convenient for the business traveller. It is close to the CBD and has super fast free wifi. It is not really suited for the romantic getaway though, the bathroom is a little small and the bath is small and shallow. We enjoyed our stay. The facilities were well appointed.

Bed was very comfy, room was pleasant enough and certainly did the job. Location was far enough walk away from things that it was annoying but not long enough to warrant an uber trip and wait. A small group of us used booking.com to book 5 rooms and pay with the company debit card. This was a disaster and each blaming each other. Some had to pay for their rooms again and for a refund.

This is a pleasant hotel, clean, bright with a very friendly, efficient staff in a convenient location. (Car-parking costs $10 per night) However, it can be rather noisy during the night. We had a room at the side of the hotel and traffic noise was quite loud. In fact at 2 am I was wakened by the noise of a lorry (or two) - at first I thought it was roadworks? No idea why it sounded as if bricks were being off loaded! That aside, we would return.

The restaurant was fantastic the service was outstanding the food was very tasty you do not have to stay at the hotel I will return here again the hotel is in Hart of hotel I in joyed having a meal they have pizza ECT

The rooms here are pretty basic and the shower is over the bath in the bathrooms which upsets a lot of people. There was no non slip mat provided. The shower itself was great, hot and good pressure. There is no fan in the bathroom so it steams up pretty quickly and leaves everything wet. The beds were a little soft and the room quite small but clean enough.

Stayed here 4 days in October. Front desk service very good - would rate that. The beds were too soft but in a saggy kind of way - these need updating. Good thick towels. Interiors is 90s and dated. Gym equipment is good. Overall I felt the price was a little high given the interiors. Location is good - easy walking distance to main attractions. Free wifi worked well. Free parking on the street on weekends and after 5PM so you don't need to pay for hotel parking overnight.

Having travelled to many countries and stayed in many hotels, I would consider this to be one of the best. It is modern and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable- I saw no evidence of them being 'tired' as some reviewers have claimed. It is centrally located and the restaurant has great food at good prices and the bar is warm and cosy. What makes this hotel stand out though are the staff who are so helpful without being effusive. Nothing is too much for them and they will go out of their way to help in a quiet but effective way providing a level of customer service that I have not seen before. Tasmania is a beautiful place and I certainly hope to be back and when I do return I will most certainly stay in this hotel.

The room was a bit dated, but secure and adequate for my stay. The rooms were an adequate size. The dinner in the restaurant was lovely, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired. The staff were very pleasant.

We had a really comfortable stay at this hotel on the edge of the CBD in Hobart. Although our room was a little dated, it was very spacious and had a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. We had everything we needed - flat screen TV, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. The only thing was that the carpet in our room could have done with a good steam clean! Parking for $10 per night was a bonus!!

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel is showing signs of its age and does need a renovation. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pizza served in the restaurant was really good.

Best Western has fresh clean rooms with balcony does that can open for fresh Hobart air. The food is exceptional. Free WiFi a small fitness center and a handy location round out this lovely hotel. The lack of cigarette smell in the rooms is refreshing.

Family room was spacious and comfortable with a stylish decor. Our buffet breakfast was vast containing hot and cold foods without scrimping on quality. Staff were attentive and friendly and quickly cleared away dirty dishes.

Around 10:56 and there has a party going on and the volume was really loud and i can hear the voice up a floor and the people who was enjoying the party was interring us and make us grumpy, we tell the reception to tell them reduce the volume down, but, they ignore us and the volume getting louder and louder, then we went down the lift and ask what going on and complain them because they said the party will end at 11 o'clock and the party still at 11:30 so we will never go back to that worst western hotel.

The staff at the Motel were very helpful with any requests and moved us immediately when we had discovered that someone had smoked in the room that we were allocated. The food in the Restaurant was very good. The room was modern and the king size bed felt comfortable, traffic was noisy on a couple of occasions. Good location in relation to activities, restaurants and major roads to tourist attractions.

Fine if you just plan to sleep in the room, serviced every day which was good. Would expect main bed to actually be a Queen or King bed not two singles. Could do with a renovation as it look tired and outdated. Fridge stank like stale milk.

Great rooms and locations, however, during my stay we had an electrical fire in the kitchen. Apparently, the lower floors alarms went off and staff told them to evacuate, whereas the top two floors, which myself and my group were staying in were not notified, neither did our alarms go off. It was the fire brigade who yelled at us from the street to get out of the building. There was also a disabled lady in a wheelchair and no assistance was offered by staff to help evacuate her down the stairs. I was disappointed and disgusted by this, had this been a more serious fire that lady may not have made it out alive and everyone in the upper floors would have been at risk too. Staff were not friendly or helpful at all.

Stayed from Sept 11-15, 2017. The king bed is very comfortable and I had had good sleep. Some Asian restaurants nearby, just about 3-5 minutes walk from the hotel. Walked about 7-10 minutes to the supermarket. The hotel staff was helpful to suggest local tours worth the money.

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hobart. The room was spacious and modern and the beds comfortable. Breakfast provided a good choice of dishes, was plentiful and cooked food was hot. The staff were friendly readily giving advice about places to see and the best restaurants to visit.

This is a little hard to get to, as its on a one way street which isn't very clear unless you live in Hobart, but that's about the only thing negative i have to say about this place. I was very surprised at the view we got from our room. Views of mount wellington and the ocean. We decided to get room service and stay in, dragged the table over to the sliding door and had a good meal with great night views of the city. The room service was pretty decent too. All in all, pretty good for the price.

Reception staff were grumpy and unpleasant both on arrival and departure Parking was not included, additional per night and even with a ticket was sometimes hard to get. Noisy surroundings Balcony not usuable

I stayed two nights at the Best Western Hobart, and should probably have paid a bit more and stayed elsewhere. The rooms are feeling very tired and need a refresh. That being said, the rooms were extremely affordable, and still very good value for money for the budget conscious traveller. The hotel is not inconvenient in it's location, with eating options easily accessible, and Salamanca still within walking distance.

As our room only had a kettle and fridge, and our son was competing in a National running championship, we decided to buy a cheap toaster so that we could feed him something before his early morning starts. On the first morning of our stay, the smoke alarm went off in the corridor, and we were told that the alert had had been triggered from our room. Although our toaster had not burnt any toast, or showed any signs of smoke at all, it had been blamed for the alarm. Everyone in the hotel was evacuated outside into the freezing cold. We were told there were signs everywhere stating no toasters to be used, however this was completely untrue. There was not one sign anywhere in our room or anywhere else in the hotel. We were then told we would be charged a $350 fee as a result. When I queried it, I was told I had signed their "terms and conditions at check-in, (which is the tiniest print you've ever seen, & which everyone knows that nobody reads). Apparently in this tiny print it says I will not use any cooking facility. At the time when I was asked to sign, the staff didn't explain any conditions, and even when I stated I didn't have my glasses and couldn't see what or where I was signing, the only response was that they pointed to the spots and told me to initial "here" and sign "here". One would at least think the terms and conditions would have been described when they knew I couldn't read it. We had no choice but to pay the fee. The following night, as we were going out for dinner, the alarm went off again, and everyone was once again evacuated outside in the freezing cold. Apparently this time, it was a hair dryer. We were only there 3 days, and 2 of them involved evacuations. Extremely inconvenient and costly for us. No responsibility taken by the hotel to ask a partially blind person to sign conditions they couldn't read, or to place warning signs in the rooms, especially when they stated that there were such signs. Pretty disgusted that a follow up email stating my case, didn't get any type of compensation for the fee charged. We definitely won't be back.

I find it a good place to stay, Meals and staff are good to deal with. i have ticked the box to sign me up to the rewards program several times and still hasnt occured & have stayed there a few times.

Very good value for the money. Very close to centre of Hobart. Within walking distance of all shops and attractions. Booked with Groupon voucher which included breakfast. Had a great view of Mt Wellington from the bedroom window. Staff very friendly and no problems at all. Highly recommended

First of all i would like to deeply commend Best Western Hobart on their impeccable staff! Apon making the agonizing drive from Launceston to Hobart and arriving at the hotel to check in, I discovered that despite giving Booking.com my credit card details I had to pay the hotel the room fee. Only issue is i left my credit card to save money i don't have, The duty manager was fantastic in his assistace and patience as i was getting more and more angry with being on hold to booking.com to try and get permission on behalf of the hotel to charge my credit card wirelessly from reception. After 45 minutes of excruciating hold music and passing my phone back and forth to the duty manager the card was finally charged and i was checked in.. Now this is where i wasnt so impressed, the room. I was on the 3rd floor in a king room with balcony (310). The look of the room just as you open the door is nice i will admit but for me, thats where it stopped. The bathroom is outdated, the shower was over the children sized bath that barely gets anything wet, and the whole thing is given privacy by a shower curtain. To make the horrid shower/bath combo even worse, trying to oporate that button thing to select which faucet you require and the tap in the sink had better water pressure than the shower. Ive stayed in standard rooms through my travels with better bathrooms that the king rooms here, I mean; why are shower curtains even a thing anymore? They are manky and gross, not to mention how disgusting it feels when they stick to you.. The bed had way too many pillows and was quite uncomfortable. The fridge was shut away in the cupboard and the enamel coating was chipped away by the door hinge. I was even more disappointed to discover that there were no plates bowls and cutlery in the room. Nor did it have a toaster or microwave which made preparing your own food extremely difficult. Last flaw I found is the temperature control in the room was barely average as the room continuously shifted between hot and cold all night. The room service speed and efficiency was excellent and the staff again faultless. Meals seemed a little overpriced but still super tasty! The underground carpark accessed by an extremely steep and rather intimidating driveway, seemed small shoving cars in like sardines. I checked in for a 3 night stay, but unfortunately mid the second night my partner got a call from home that meant we need to return north early. The Night manager was fantastic in assisting and organising early checkout and guiding me how to get a refund for the last night (which unfortunately means another agonizing phonecall to booking.com) Even thought i was not impressed by the room, i was incredibly impressed with the professionalism of the staff and management, which made the stay decent. Only recommendation would be give the rooms a revamp so they look atleast somewhat modern.

We stayed here on a Groupon voucher great value for money. Great location friendly staff with car parking and brekky included. Rooms are clean and tidy little bit dated but have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed is comfy and heater works well.

We stayed at the Best Western Hobart over a weekend in August 2017. We arrived mid morning and the staff were kind enough to allow us to get into a room early so we could get started on our day. It's a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Salamanca markets and 10-15 to Battery Point. Room was clean with standard amenities, tea and coffee provided. Included breakfast is comprehensive with hot food, fruit, cereals and bread, my only suggestion would be not to fill up too much as you will want to leave room for all the amazing local produce!

Comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Room facilities and amenities consistent with expectations. Good quality breakfast options available in the morning buffet. Nice and friendly staff to fulfill usual requirements. Restaurants and shopping mall a short stroll away. Good value for money in case of business or casual traveler.

Stayed for 4 nights at this hotel and was very impressed. We arrived early and were able to check in which was good. The room (3rd floor facing the back) was very spacious - lovely comfortable King size bed, huge TV!. The bathroom needs a bit of updating and the exhaust fan hardly worked meaning after a shower you will need to wait half an hour before being able to see your self in the mirror! Room was great except for someone that likes a dark room at night there was allot of light that comes through corridor into the room as door has gap all the way around. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurant was fantastic and room service very quick!!

I have just completed my third stay at his hotel and I will return whenever I am in Hobart in the future. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms comfortable and have a bath. Last year it was my friends birthday and we bought a simple mud cake from Coles. I asked them to put it away and bring it out at dinner time . When they brought it out they had decorated it with chocolate dipped strawberries and piped Happy Birthday on the plate. It looked lovely.

The hotel is well located and just a short walk from the centre of Hobart and the restaurant area. It's a fairly typical corporate hotel. The room was comfortable, bathroom a bit dated but all very clean. Secure parking in the underground car park. Very helpful reception staff on arrival giving lots of details about places to visit and eat.

Place is around a km from cbd, good quiet location, friendly reception and bar staff. Online booking, room was on the 4th floor, little balcony attached to all rooms but not big enough for a seat out there. Great menu & room service. Rooms a little bit dated but bed nice and comfy. Overall really nice place and free internet.

For the price we payed to stay here we were very pleasantly surprised . The staff from pre booking to checking out were fantastic and couldn't be more helpful. Special thankyou to Luke (reservations manager) for his extra help. The room was lovely and clean and the staff on the cleaning team are always seen to be working incredibly hard and are always happy to help you, kudos to them for all their hard work and your sparkling clean rooms!! We had our hire car parked in and out for the duration of the trip and did not once have an issue finding a park and always noticed multiple parking options. The view from the room was fabulous. We couldn't fault anything about this place and def couldn't fault the staff that work their, it was so great to always be greeted with a warm friendly smile. We had buffet breakfast at the restaurant and thought it was awesome with every option you can think of. Overall we loved every aspect of this hotel and would be happy to stay here again. Very surprised by the few previous reviews as they couldn't be further from the experience that we had here, guessing you will never please some people and I'm assuming it's these kind of people who wrote those reviews. The Pros: ======= Lovely reception & restaurant staff. Received a welcome drink and buffet breakfast was decent. Location was pretty central. Free car park (if you were lucky enough to get a space). The Cons: ======== Disgusting bathroom and very old room. The corridors smelt. The room smelt. It was crying out for a complete overhaul. The bathroom was so old and decrepit that I cringed each time I had to use it. Luckily we only stayed there for two nights. I couldn't wait to leave. The car park had very limited spaces that we didn't dare to drive out for dinner in case we couldn't find a car park when we returned. I would not stay there again unless they did major room renovations! This was our first time visiting Tassie and it didn't leave a good memory of Launceston!

Ok rooms with decent view, but bathroom is small. Gym exists, but no dumbbells at all Restaurant most disappointing. Sold out of Oysters early in the night. Didn't bring the side I ordered. Overpriced.

I found it odd at check in that I was asked to put a holding amount on my credit card greater than my room cost. Was told it was immediate release on check out, of course now waiting two days with the deposit being held and the actual room rate! Will never stay here again with this policy. We went to Freycinet who held $1 and also regularly stay at Wrest Point who hold 1c!! The Best Western certainly treat their customers like criminals with this charging policy.

The staff was wonderful, but the hotel was a dump. The lobby area had been nicely renovated, but the rooms were awful. As soon as you stepped off the elevator you were hit with a terrible odor, mold I think. It never dissipated the entire stay. Dirty carpet, twin beds, horrible bathroom, no amenities. Fortunately the linen was clean. I went with a group tour and couldn't change hotels. I could barely wait for those 2 days to end. Stay somewhere else or wait until the rooms are renovated.

I had quite low expectations, travelling for business so didn't put much thought into this choice. I must say this is a good location- esp. for anyone who might enjoy a brisk 20 minute walk up Elizabeth street to the State cinema. Pleasant staff. Truckle & Co. deli over the road is well worth a visit! Quite generic decor and disappointing bath (too small for a tall person like me) A pleasant surprise was the excellent LG tv, solid heating that didn't make the air too dry and very comfy bedding.

Was an ok stay, car parking was a bit steep but staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a great set out and had an ok view from the balcony. Perfect position near the farmers market on Sunday. Otherwise great stay

Ok.......so the room is very small once bags in room. Bathroom very aged needs updating. And an exhausted fan in it. Bath design is dangerous and I fell getting out of bath after shower. Purchased meal and was very disappointed. $80 we cant get back.

Centrally located with tidy, comfortable room. It is pretty basic and the staff were very professional and friendly. Wood fired pizza from the attached restaurant was delicious. Pretty much everything is within walking distance, whether you plan on shopping, visiting Salamanca Place or the coffee shops/restaurants in North Hobart.

Excellent friendly staff. Clean spacious room with a Super comfortable bed. The food from the restaurant was excellent. Very delicious and quality ingredients. Nice cold beer aswell. Will definitely stay there every visit

I have stayed at the Best Western in Hobart before and thought it was great. A bit of noise to be heard but with a 24hr crime TV channel I didn't care. This time my stay was so noisy that I was woken up several times.I know people in general don't have respect but I've stayed in other hotels and I couldn't hear this much noise in them. This room was also under renovation but as they had a full house I ended up with a half renovated room so I should have complained then but I liked my previous stay so I didn't and they do not to update the rooms. I was disappointed as they do have comfortable beds but they should have offered a discount and I should have complained about it. Learnt my lesson.

It's certainly not the prettiest or the most up-to-date city hotel but it ticked all the boxes that needed ticking for me. I stayed in Room 205 for 4 nights. The front desk were very helpful whenever I had a query. I used the gym twice. It was small, yet sufficient. I don't know if I would have enjoyed exercising in that small space if someone else had walked in, though. The bed was comfy but the pillow was incredibly thick. The showers were hot, hot, hot! I ordered room service one night (just soup and fries) and they were both really tasty. Parking was convenient (it would be better if it was free, though). Parking is apparently $10 per day. I was under the impression that I paid for it at the end of my stay via the ticket machine at the bottom of the lift, but when I went to pay for my parking it said "no payment required". I will check my credit card bill because I'm assuming that they took it off that. Finger crossed that that is all sorted.

Location was very good; room was OK: housekeeping was patchy in respect of milk and bathroom items; breakfast was a waste of time and money! Onsite parking was convenient but it would hav e been much better if it were complimentary as parking in the city would have been a nightmare.

Ok location 10 mins to waterfront not far to shopping strip rooms clean tidy our Barth room was a bit run down but good value for money make sure your room has foxtel as they all don't Hobart tv is pretty average had pizza in the restaurant very nice

Have always wanted to visit Hobart Tasmania . I came down for the First time in Late June 2017 and was not Dissapointed . The Best Western hotel is well located in the City and parking is also reasonable either in the hotel or for me on the street . The Hotel Staff we met were all very friendly and although there seems to be a lot of Asian Tourists in the Hotel the rooms are all good sized with great comfortable beds and the Breakfast in the mornings is First Class ! If coming to Hobart I would definetely recommend this hotel for your stay .

Location wise is ok as it is walking distance to Elizabeth Mall. But on a winter day u will not want to walk out, even though you need foods. Thus, I personally do not think the location is really good. Fortunately hotel has it own restaurant. Reception staffs are friendly and helpful. There is car rental right opposite the hotel. For airport transfer pick up, airport shuttle will stop you right in front of the hotel on arrival. Whereas to go to the airport from the hotel, you need to cross the road and wait at the opposite side of the hotel for the airport shuttle.

Stayed in the family suite which has one king bed room and one room with two singles. One small bathroom. One fridge. No microwave or sink- which sucked for us with bub who had bottles. Very tiny kettle, which you have to fill in the bathroom sink. The sink is at crotch height and sprays water directly at your pants, violently, on even the lightest pressure. Not too keen on getting drinking water out of tap next to toilet. Bath surround was mouldy. Could hear every creak in room above us. Their computers don't ever seem to be working. They confused our check out date and called us asking why we hadn't left our room a day early- right in the middle of baby nap time - that was great. At check out, on the right day, computer system not working either so we still don't know how much out of pocket we are. Staff at desk and in restaurant were friendly. Bed very comfortable. Food at embers restaurant wasn't very good. Ordered room service first night, pizza, burger, chips. Pizza was burnt and not the one I'd asked for. Dessert was burnt apple something. Menu options small. Breakfast was ok, the usual stuff.

The room was old but in good condition and had modern furnishings. The TV was good and the space was quite extensive. But the bathroom was old. I really wasn't expecting a shower curtain in a room that looked so nice upon arrival. We also at least expected a toaster or microwave, when we arrived and saw there was only a kettle. The kitchen facilities were slightly exaggerated. Overall the room was okay, there was nothing that made the experience a bad one it just could have been better. The inconsistency and unexpectadness of quality lowered its rating. We would stay here again, now knowing what we're in for

Looked for a medium priced hotel near the city centre and found a Groupon deal for 3 nights inc breakfast for a great price! Staff were all helpful and friendly, bed was comfortable with choice of 2 types pillows. With window open a little noisy but being winter not open for long! Parking at extra cost and a little tight at times and car on a slope to use the exit machine, take care. Will stay next time, decent restaurant.

I picked the hotel only for its location but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service. The staff were friendly and efficient at every contact. The room was basic but clean and renovated. I had a lovely view across Hobart city to the water. The restaurant was also quite good and the one night I had room service my meal was great. On top of all this, the hotel was also very well priced.

This hotel is a great place to stay, very central to everything in Hobart, walking distance to all shops and markets. Staff are ultra helpful and friendly, and my room was clean from the very first day and during my stay. Big tick of approval and will stay again on my next visit to Hobart.

Great location, spacious bedroom with nice furnishings. Bathroom decent size but could do with some updating. Great customer service. Parking is available for a cost- I think this should be complimentary if staying at hotel. Restaurant is lovely- we had room service and it was delicious. Would recommend this hotel to others.

I stay at several Best Western's all over Australia for work and have to say this BW is the worst by far, the rooms are very poor quality, bathroom is so small you can barely move, the shower is terrible and desperately needs a renovation. My room in particular the balcony door doesn't even lock, the heater didn't work properly and the noise sounded like a plane taking off!! All BW's i have stayed at has allowed me a microwave in my room but this one would not, my main gripe is the quality of this hotel its terrible. I was warned the Quest or Grand Chancellor would be better but next month when I return it will not be to this hotel.

I stayed here for Dark MOFO and it was great. Free parking on the street over weekends/public holidays, easy walking distance to Salamanca Place and the MONA ferry. But far enough away to be quiet and undisturbed. We had a suite which was nice but nothing flash. Bed big and comfy. Tea and coffee facilities and mini bar. Good but run of the mill. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great Staff , service and very central, I have found over the past 10 years of staying at this motel it only gets better! I get welcomed by my name and the staff go over and above to please and the room service is great also!

Overall it was a decent stay at the best western. Would suggest updating the furnishings/ bathroom and also insulation if possible. Great service from the staff though!! Location is excellent and parking is nice and accessible.

The room was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast one of the best I have seen. The parking is linked straight by elevator to your level and traffic wise the hotel is easy to get to and central to the centre of the city. The only reason I am giving very good instead of excellent is that the rooms are not noise insulated and I found the traffic noise very loud. I am from a rural area and like the quiet at night. It disturbed my sleep a couple of times. I put sleep as average because of the noise, but the bed itself was great.

best western Hobart was clean and comfortable accomodation close to Hobart CBD, Salamanca and waterfront (comfortable walking distance). The room had all basic needs covered. The bed was particularly comfortable!

This hotel is showing its age however a nice place to stay when in Hobart Rooms are generous complete with a bath clean and very nice staff I had plenty of work to do so I ordered room service The kitchen sent the wrong order to me so I thought may as well try it instead of causing a hassle for every one It was the best fish I have ever tasted only problem is I have no idea what it was they have a few fish dishes on there menu. Should have asked When they relished there mistake they rang and apologized The only criticism I had was the pillows so many of them in the bed but all were very high they need to remove some of the high ones and replace them with medium and lower ones The bed was very comfy

Great value. Managed to get a special deal online $119 per night; king room with balcony with a view to Mt. Wellington. Actually given a two bedroom space. Quiet powerful air conditioner, very comfortable king bed, shower/toilet needs upgrading but good pressure and plenty hot water. Had dinner in Embers restaurant, excellent value. Handy walking distance to town and Salamanca. Would definitely stay here again.

Best Western hotel in Hobart is a part of the Best Western hotel and resorts all over and at Hobart is located about 45 mts from the airport, almost centrally located. Has a spacious reception area with very friendly staff, always willing to assist the customers. The restaurant is almost a direct extension from the reception and commands a good view.Breakfast is to be included on booking and is satisfactory. Menu remains unchanged on all the three days we had . Rooms are spacious with clean linen and running hot and cold water.shaving Room service and dental kits are provided on request. Room service we did not try. There is a well stocked bar and on Fridays live music is arranged.Reception helps in arranging pick up and drop on payment. Wifi is available free. conference rooms board rooms etc are available. I would like to mention name of one very helpful person at the reception -Mr Brendt Leonard.- a very warm and cheerful and courteous staff member.

Large two roomed unit in a very convenient location. Bathroom needed a little updating - but beds were super comfy and clean. And the breakfast was incredible. Service was good too. We had a great stay.

Rooms a good size, good both rooms had access to toilet/shower etc without having to go through the other bedroom. Breakfast was good, staff very helpful and friendly. Canapes and half price cocktails good too, though could be a few more canapes.

We stayed 5 nights. The Hotel is reasonably priced and in a good location for walking. It is located on a hill which was fine by us but just keep this in mind. Our room had a balcony, was clean, good size with a comfortable bed. Staff were polite and helpful . Live music and bar snacks at Happy Hour on a Friday night is an enjoyable free extra. Also always appreciated the good quality free WIFI.

Booked 2 rooms with a Groupon deal, so the price was right.The rooms are a little tired and "of their time" but, really, how much time are you going to spend in your room when you've traveled from the mainland. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The rooms are quiet and clean as was the bathroom. Slept like a log as did the husband. Daughter was late to breakfast as her bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was your typical hotel buffet, neither good not bad but plentiful. Would I stay here again, probably.

Nothing great about this hotel, but it is convenient to town, reasonably priced, and while a bit tired, acceptable to me. It's a Best Western folks, and a tired one at that, but not bad. I would stay there again unless I was looking for something posh.

Check-in is a breeze. Unfortunately our room doesn't have a great view, and they could not transfer us to another for they are fully-booked, which they made clear to us on our check-in. They gave us a free parking voucher instead, which we really appreciated. Our room, on the 1st floor is in need of refurbishment. The main bed is too soft, almost saggy feeling. The single bed is great, just the right feel to it. Bedding is crisp and clean. The ensuite does not have an exhaust and no heat lights. The room in general has an out-of-date feel to it. The room do not have bedroom slippers, no toothbrush/toothpaste. There is no hotel phone directory provided in the room, so we could not phone the lobby/restaurant/housekeeping, we had to get down to the lobby to ask. Really bad soundproofing in our room, we could hear almost everything from the other rooms, it was really bad when somebody flushes their toilets or had a shower, the sound easily woke us up. Air-conditioning unit is good and works well. The room is spacious which is good. Buffet breakfast has a good selection and the food is delicious except for the sausage, and it is fairly priced as well. Their undercover parking is secure, although the spaces are a little tight. There is water leaking from a pipe above the centre of the parking area near the elevators. It was a gush of liquid then it subsided, good thing we were not near it when it happened. We did not know where the water came from, it was just gross to see it. *it was like someone flushes a toilet from the ground floor and the water leaked down to the LG floor (hopefully it was something else).

The motel was probably built in the 1960's and so rooms are not present style. Our room was satisfactory with good sized bed but rather small and the bathroom was tiny. So not up with more modern style motels. However, you get what you pay for!. The electronic room card system was unreliable and we had to update our card twice in order to enter the room. Breakfast was very good at a equitable price. Staff were very helpful.

The room was very Ridley. The hotel is in a pretty good location to shops, nightlife and scenery. Friendly staff and helpful. The room we stayed in was a great size and comfortable bed. Would defysatu here again if ever in Hobart.

Our family of four only stayed in Hobart for one night before going back to Launceston. We had an interconnected room which the kids really liked. Breakfast was good and enjoyable. We will definitely come back again.

TV loose on wall,breakfast items cold.Channels as advertised not working which when you pay reasonable prices for a room you expect everything to be right.It is not good enough that you have to complain to the front desk to have things corrected.

We have stayed 4 nights so far and have another 2 to go. Staff are well trained, giving excellent service. From the moment we arrived we found staff at reception, bar and restaurant all very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms are clean and a good size. Buffet breakfast is fantastic and offers something for everyone - delicious! We enjoyed listening to the live band while having a few drinks on Friday night. Good work Best Western. We'll be back again with some more Queens landers.Thank you.

Over-rated hotel in Hobart. Rooms need upgrading. Phone wasn't working. Door didn't seem secure. Ordered big breakfast but couldn't finish it. Chairs had cigarette holes in them. Some positives: comfortable bed, convenient location, decent coffee and friendly staff.

Room was comfortable. Great walking distance to market & sights. Great Buffett breakfast which was included in our stay. We had dinner in the restaurant which also was a great meal. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thehotel is a great hote to stay inl. Food was delicious and the buffet substantial.Hotels rooms are large. Economical all day Parking facilities. Clean and safe Locality. Central CBD Location. The hotel has a great restaurant too.

On our recent trip around Tasmania we decided to spend the night here in Hobart. It was a time to relax from driving and the Hotel was close to the city centre. We were not disappointed both with the good sized comfortable room and with the location. The buffet breakfast was also lovely.

Central, clean, friendly staff . We bought a deal through Groupon so for us it was absolutely value for money! The room and bathroom were clean . The bed was very comfort with lots of pillows to choose from. When we arrived we were given a room close to the road so I was concerned about road noise but it was no issue at all. Would happily stay here again.

Great staff, fabulous restaurant and location right in the heart of Hobart. Will be my first choice when returning to Tassie....If you find yourself in Hobart then give this hotel a try you won't be dissappointed.

stayed at the best western as it was advertised as recently refurbished, maybe 20 years ago. bathroom was terrible, mould in grout lines, toilet was not attached to the floor properly, the exhaust fan hasn't been cleaned in years. paint was flaking of the door and the walls were scuffed and marked. nothing in the mini bar, don't know why. looked out onto a roof deck with fence and barb wire around. door lock broken and the beds weren't new either. charged $20 for parking but no parking spots available. sorry but i have got not many nice things to say about this place. location maybe. but there are a lot of other hotels around that look better...

Typical Best Western Hotel...clean rooms and comfortable bed. But.... we had a first floor room and the road noise kept up awake most of the night. The walls are also fairly thin and we could hear a lot of noise from the bathroom next door. Probably not the best choose of hotel in Hobart...sorry BW as we have stayed in quite a few of your hotels around the word.

This hotel is a winner. Located in the charming, small city of Hobart, the Best Western is close to many of the attractions, such as nearby Victorian buildings, the harbor, restaurants, shops, and the lovely parks. We had a spacious room with good shower and comfortable beds. The hotel has a delicious breakfast buffet that is included in the room rate. Helpful, gracious staff.

Excellent Location for attending the CBD, Wharves & Salamanca, good secure undercover parking. Excellent friendly service by everyone, from the reception to the service staff & bar/restaurant staff. We where in a 1st floor room which was a bit tired & worn, not a $300+ room, a step above a good motel room, holes in curtains & walls around the table area, tried the Tasmanian single malt whiskies, $12. & $18. shots in filthy glass (stomach turning grime inside the top 30mm), may have been unlucky, but the bar was not busy. Attended brekky at 8 am food was either cold or hard & dried. Auto coffee machine also needs urgent review, one step off a thermos flask. Place appears due for an upgrade but choice in central Hobart is limited. maybe go online for discount deal at this hotel.

Overall it's a good hotel, walking distance to the centre. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was OK. Rooms cleaned but window sills very dirty needs a good clean. Vent over the bath very dirty. Food in hotel restaurant not worth the money. Below average.

Good location, walking distance to main city shopping street. Friendly staff, happy to assist with driving directions and maps. Bar and restaurant area looked very nice, but we did not use it. Good rooms. Handy underground parking.
