Best Western Hotel Helmstedt am Lappwald

Lovely hotel close to the highway We stayed here just one night and we were very satisfied. Food in the restaurant was really tasty and fresh. Nice and friendly staff. The coffee machine was in our room and that's very important for me. Through our window, we could see a highway, but it didn't bother for us (no noises) good place to stay

Hotel was little far from Messe Hannover but due to schedule had book in Helmstedt. rooms were clean but little small, & as our rooms were located on top floor we had to watch overhead or else we would bump our heads on the roof line. bed was little too soft & some colleagues commented their back were sore after several nights of sleep. Breakfast was served good overall but ran out of certain foods at certain times.

Food quality of restaurant is poor, if you stay here perhaps you better eat at the nearby burger King. Rooms are clean. Shower has curtain and that is not very comfortable, but at least shower head gives plenty water. Central ventilation is a bit noisy but luckily stops at 11pm.

I have just arrived after a long trip. I booked a double comfort room to have a bigger bed to sleep and I find a single room! I enter the room and it is freezing! I call once time the reception and they told me that they are going to fix it and call me back in 5 minutes. Nothing. I call again and I asked explanation saying that I have fever and I need hot room. Still nothing. One young receptionist is just kidding me at the phone. I call for 3rd times and I ask to talk to her boss and she say that he is sleeping (probably in warm temperature and they don't care to leave guest in cold). No way to solve the issue. Then tomorrow I have longbtrip by car and some important medical exams that I am gonna miss due to their treatment! Please avoid this place! Absolutely! I travel a lot for my job and this is the worst service that I have never had in a hotel! And they say that it is 4 stars...for the service they don't deserve any star! Fabio

Look, if you are after somewhere to spend one night to break up a journey then this hotel may be acceptable to most. The room was clean and modern but tiny! Our son ended up sleeping on a mattress on the floor as the foldaway bed they had provided was so noisy he couldn't have slept, and more importantly neither could we, or even the people in the room next door!! I'm afraid the evening meal was very poor. Even the fries had obviously spent too much time under a hot plate and were soggy and tasteless. The breakfast was also limited (no chance of my normal omelette!). For the cost I would have expected better. I can see that they (the staff are very pleasant) are trying to be good but frankly they just aren't there!!

We travel by car regularly between the UK and Poland and always make a stop around halfway, in Germany. This hotel is ideally situated very close to the motorway so doesn't need a long detour from an already long journey. It's very clean and quiet and has all the facilities you would expect of a decent mid-range hotel. There is a small restaurant which serves decent food, and despite our slightly late arrival, they kept the kitchen open for us so we could have a meal. However, they did have a wedding reception on at the time, so the kitchen staff were all there and it wasn't a major inconvenience for them. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, but there is no air conditioning, so during this summer's heatwave the bedroom was very hot and stuffy and despite being on the ground floor we had to keep the windows wide open all night.

The hotel is easily accessible from the A2 motorway. Even late in the evening you can still find a free parking space. Although some of the hotel rooms are near the motorway service area, the traffic noise does not penetrate into the rooms. However, in the evening noise could be heard from the beer bar in the entrance hall. The rooms were tidy. The beds were comfortable. Only the bathroom should be renovated soon. The heating / air conditioning functioned reliably even at lower outside temperatures The breakfast buffet opens usually on time 6.30 and is corresponding to the high standard in Germany. Definitely value for money at this hotel.

On route back from Poland to The Netherlands by car we used this place for a stop over. Since we travel frequently to Poland by car we always used another hotel in Germany, so first time in Helmstedt. We were impressed by this place! Friendly staff, a decent (children friendly) restaurant, nice and modern rooms and a superb breakfast! The hotel is conveniently situated near the A2 autobahn, so easy access! free parking and in a very quite location. See you next time!

Closte to the highway (5min) so perfect te sleep for the night and leave in the morning. Clean rooms and normal buffet style breakfast. You have free parking space and there is a small bar if you would like to drink something.

Good hotel close to the highway, but it was not noisy. Bar in the entrance of the hotel with some beers. The room was clean, and the bathroom was clean too, nothing bad to say on that. The breakfast is good with salty and sweet food too. So nothing bad to say on this hotel, it was all good.

On our trip to Berlin we made a stop over at the Best Western Hotel Helmstedt. It is convenientely close to the A2 so an excellent place for a stop over. Free parking spots were available at the hotel. Although it was after twelve at night, check in went very smooth. Rooms were standard and ok. The breakfast the next morning had plenty of choices, so no need to be hungry. For a good night's rest when you are travelling in this area, we can recommend this hotel if you like good value for money.

We stayed here just for one night returning from a birthday event. The hotel is located in a private house area only a few meters from A2 highway. Given that vicinity to the A2 the rooms are surprisingly quiet with windows closed. Rooms are comfortably sized, with a very tidy and comfortable bathroom, everything was clean and fully up to the standard. Parking is free of charge. Breakfast was even available 30 minutes earlier than officially and had many choices both classic continental and cereals. We can fully recommend the place and the pricing is fair.

The hotel is literally next to the highway A2 but the noise is really limited and the windows will filter it. Offers nice rooms, nice bathroom and good sleep quality. it's got typical continental breakfast. In addition sauna in the hotel building.

Stayed in this hotel for the second time. It is ok, but not more than that. I have to say the rooms are clean , the people are nice and friendly and the best choice in Hemstedt. However it needs upgrading. The rooms on the third floor are small due to the slooping roof. The airconditioning is working well but noisy. Bathroom clean and tidy. Very good breakfast, dinner average, better to go into town. Does the job for a business stayover. Fit for purpose.

The hotel is nice situated in civilian area snd is quite! Rooms are nic international standard clean and large ( I had a double room single use) rooms are clean and quite! Bar is good , reception next to bar! Proeple are verry frindly and helpfull. What do you expect from an International chain hotel? All is standard but this hotel is certainly worth to stay the night over on you yourney !

located outside the centre with free parking ,first impression is clean and tidy with very friendly staff, free wifi in the room with a good strong signal room was okay but the hotel is a bit dated ,free breakfast was very nice ,and dinner was very good

Nice hotel, close to the highway but in a quiet corner. Our short stay was very pleasant. Friendly staff, good room service. Delicious breakfast, wide choice for room service. Family-friendly with baby equipment available.

Very good hotel close to the highway but silent including air-condition in the rooms in summer time. The evening in the restaurant was nice, including good food and extraordinary staff. I will come back whenever I have to travel this route again.

I was booked into this hotel for a couple of nights for some conference meeting at the Palaon in nearby Schoningen. I found the place to be clean with friendly staff. My room was a good size with a comfy single bed. Breakfast and dinner were good too. It's right next to the motorway too so good for drivers needing a rest.

Clean standard stay-over business hotel. Nothing special. Nothing bad. Clean, rooms , friendly personel , quick and free Wi-Fi. Not a holiday destination . I had to stay over for one night for business in Helmstedt. Acceptable for this purpose. Acceptable food, good breakfast. Value for money. Suitable for its purpose along the motorway to Berlin. Only minor point was the loud airconditioning in the room. Working perfect but a bit to loud

I stopped by for just one night on my journey from Poland to Belgium but I must say I couldn't have made a better choice. This is a place you wish to check in at when you arrive after a tiresome journey: very nice, fully professional staff, a cozy, clean room with a comfortable bed and fresh bathroom, very silent place although so close to the motorway. Tasty breakfast! Back on the road the following day I was called by a lady from the reception: it turned out that I left behind my e-book. I was already too far to drive back but the lady was so nice as to arrange for the e-book to be sent to my address. This is what I call service and I wish it were a standard everywhere... Danke schoen!

The Best Western Hotel Helmstedt is located 1 km from the motorway exit, on a hill in a residential area. The hotel has 60 rooms. The rooms giving towards the valley arequiet, whereas those on the mountain side could be impacted by some noise from the nearby motorway and service area. The rooms are spacious, bright and well appointed. The beds are of good quality. Everything is well kept and clean. The bath rooms are equipped with a bath tub or a shower cabin. The free Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. A Nespresso machine is placed in the room. If supplies are exhaust, the ladies from the reception have some more stocks freely available. The breakfast buffet is richly garnished with quality products. Eggs are freshly prepared on request. Various cakes are also on offer. As there are no other restaurants in the neighbourhood, we decided to eat on the spot. The restaurant made a rather sad look. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The dishes were freshly prepared and no micro waving. The daily special, as well as the fish was tasty and attractively served. All employees without exception are courteous and helpful. Free parking is available in front of the hotel. As the positioning of the hotel is not within walking distance to the town centre, guests need motorisation. We were completely satisfied with our short stay.

I was here 6 or 7 times and each time was a pleasure. Each time i was in another room so i know globally how is the hotel like. Rooms are clean, sober, elegant. Beds are really comfortable. Bathrooms are really nice and clean. Last time i was in a room in which the bathroom was renovated and was very nice and modern. The environment is calm, the hotel is located in a residential area near the highway. The staff is kind. Just maybe one thing that is not as good as the other things : breakfasts. They are not bad but 2 or 3 years before, they were better. Globally, i recommend it.

Stayed for one night on our way to the South of Germany. Nice, clean and new looking hotel. Just of the highway A2 that runs from Hannover to Berlin. We could not hear the highway during our stay. It was one of the hottest days in the summer but the room had climate control so very comfortable. Had dinner in the restaurant and it was OK. Breakfast buffet also had a nice selection. Would stay here Again

Hotel was spotlessly clean and staff were very attentive. The dining room was cozy and produced some very high quality dinner that was a great value for the quantity and qaulity of the food. Wine was average, but well priced. Room was well fitted with excellent pillows and duvet - very warm and cozy too,

This has to be the best of the Best Western Hotels. Staff were great. Room was clean, bed most comfortable we have slept in since starting our European trip over 3 weeks ago. The village Helmstedt is absolutely beautiful. It was all you expect an old German village to look like.

All employees we met were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us to stop on the way to the south, only 1 minute from the motorway. The room was nice and big and a babybed was arranged free of charge. The lady in charge for breakfast cooked porridge for our little babyboy. Great service!
