    « this is family »

we have been coming here for over 21 years. What i love about it, is that there is so much to do and yet nothing to do. It is so quiet and relaxing and yet if I wanted to I could go scuba, kayaking, etc. The rooms are large, clean ,the setting heavenly, service impeccable and well... the staff are beyond great. Overtime we think of going elsewhere for a change, we come come back to why. They is our break for doing nothing and rejuvenating.

« Nice property in the middle of nowhere »

I went to my honeymoon and was really good...Beware of mosquitos, Im a local and Im used to mosquitos, but those are worst...pool open $10 and they take you to Guilligan's island a MUST in guanica...hotel key never worked propertly and water leaks in the room...Eating option are limited in Guanica and also in the hotel...Not bad but pricy in Palmas restaruant(Bring OFF)...very friendly staff but they gave us a room in the building 5 so we had to walk everyday from parking to the room like 5 minutes...Free Parking...It's a nice hotel for couples...

« My best Surprise!! Thank you Copamarina »

I thanks the entire front desk team for giving me the big surprise of being able to share it with my son. I would firstly like to thank Jeaseny for her excellent work and the team that composes it as Arline, Yolanda, Alejandro and I can not stay the appreciation that my son had on his arrival at the hotel and the restaurant Las Palmas Sonia, Sally, Luis (Omellet guy) and Kaysa

Me and my family enjoyed an excellent vacation after a year and a half outside PR. The big surprise my mother who for more than a year I did not see me. I am grateful to the entire Copamarina team, but especially to Stephanie, Paul, Front Desk, Las Palmas who always provided us with their greatest hospitality.

    « Mosquito horror »

Mosquito every where the rooms car everywhere they ate us up we smelled like bug repelente the whole trip my cologne didn't need it went to impress instead disappointed for my next stay in March I have to ask if they spray before coming

    « outdoor excellence »

This is a beautiful resort. The grounds are immaculate. The view is spectacular. The staff is excellent. The rooms not so great. Every person had a problem with their room. They never fixed the problem in our room. The food was great but very slow. If you only sleep in the room its OK, but noisy.

    « Getaway »

This place was NOT what I expected! NEVER AGAIN!!! After one night we left to find another hotel. Room was filthy, outdated and smelled musty. Shower floor had disgusting dirty grouted tile... Which I refused to used. It was worse than a dirty locker room! The bed seemed clean but old, cheap and hard. It had one sheet and one flimsy blanket. Not comfortable at all. Light switches seemed like a fire hazard. I had to jiggle the switch to keep the light off! The ONE restaurant that was open when we arrived at 8 pm was nothing more than overpriced bar food!!! We had a salad(small) and a large plain pizza and three domestic beers each and total was $119.00. The "bar restaurant" was understaffed. Staff was pleasant but service was very, very slow. The bar/ restaurant was dirty and sticky And way outdated! We had to take baggage to the room ourself or wait 15 minutes... With no cart available. Gilligan's Island is nearby which we did not see because we left first thing in the AM. I felt I just spent the night at Gilligan's Island anyway. The room had a back area that was a mosquito haven and the grounds were like an unkept campground . If you still want to go... D0 NOT arrive in the dark! The road leading to this hotel is long, winding and very dark! The surrounding areas are sketchy at best and with nothing to do. I would not recommend this hotel at all!!!! We ended up at our usual luxury hotel... Two hours away... The Wyndham Rio... Which is far superb for $129/ night. The beach was super clean as compared to the muddied seaweed area at the Copamarina. Copamarina charged us $180/night. Never again... I'd rather go camping.

    « Disappointing »

We booked this resort for our 10yr Anniversary. I read many reviews prior to booking and was excited for our stay based on the pictures we saw on their website. We found the resort to be subpar. While secluded, which we love, the beach was uninviting. The water was muddy and had a foul odor. They only had one restaurant open during the week and the food was not great. Overpriced as well. Drinks were not what you would expect on a Caribbean vacation, not tasty at all. We stayed during rainy season, so we understand there were things outside their control; our room was one of 20 that were out of service due to water leaks. We were pleased with the new room we were given, but then had issues with the air conditioner. In the end, we went through 3 different units and the one that worked was extremely loud, keeping us up at night. I made a comment to my husband about how disappointing it would be to have selected this resort for our honeymoon. The saving grace to our stay was the staff, especially Paul at the front desk and Michael at the Las Palmas bar. Both went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Paul did more than anyone we've ever dealt with to fix the problems we encountered, and we travel frequently. In the end, the 20% resort fee was waived for our troubles, which we greatly appreciate; however, we would not recommend this resort to family and friends.

    « Nice, relaxing getaway »

Place looks nice. It's small and cozy, and pretty remote from the usual, but you can breathe in the peace in this place. Pools are nice, some are heated. The beach was in very bad condition when we went. Hotel rooms were standard fare, nothing special. Shower head was too low... as a 6'2 guy I couldn't wash my head properly without having to bend. All in all, it's a pretty average hotel but excellent for relaxation. Stay away from the fine dining restaurant, it's a massive rip-off.

    « Beautiful and relaxing »

The ideal place to relax and enyoy the beautiful environment of Copamarina. Close to ballenas and gilighan chanels an expectacular experience. Please make reservation and go to Alexandra Rest the best food in town . You won't regret it , enyoy your stay.

    « Our honeymoon »

This resort may be nice during busy season however in the fall it is not. When we arrived to the resort we were already skeptical since all the areas surrounding it are scary graffiti covered building's with bars on the windows. Front desk staff was very nice but once we got to the room i was unimpressed by the dirty ceramic tile floors, filthy grout and less than amazing shower. We then realized that the restaurant boasts two on site restaurants but only one is open. The food is overpriced while also being subpar. The ferry was closed for our trip and the water sports were also unavailable. The views are beautiful but the "private" beach is filthy and smells like sewage so we also couldn't utilize that. We were so bored we went to the mall. Then the storm happened. Our ceiling leaks water and the only restaurant available is closed along with everything else. The cable stopped working and so we called the travel agency and the airport and at a charge are returning home. Our honeymoon was a total bummer. I would not recommend this resort. However, the wait staff and front desk employees were wonderful people and the pools and views are beautiful.

    « Wedding anniversary »

We arrive earlier than the usual checkin time but we were welcome. As we enter the room there was a bottle of wine with glasses in a room decorated with air ballons all over the bed and floor and a banner over the bed. Isla Guilligan, Playa Tamarindo and the hotel facilities like the spa, swimming pool, etc. made our stay a dream. After been fighting cancer with good results since last year we need it this vacation. Last year by the same date we made a commitment, if my health was good we were going to stay in Copamarina for our wedding anniversary every year. In the middle of de "Desierto" as the local call the area of the Bosque Seco the tranquility invite you to relax. The hotel rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The personel is corteous and willing to help. Is a dream vacation como true. Recommend this hotel to everyone.

    « getaway »

I had a spectacular weekend with family and friends. We were able to enjoy the spectacular views, the water sports and traveled to Gilligans Island. The staff was very friendly and attentive, additionally all the surroundings where quite clean, pools were enjoyable, the staff was amenable and the Service was excellent. My children were able to view swimming turtles, dolphins and Manati. I was able to have a romantic walk with my wife through the brand-new beach front walkways. At night we enjoyed a spectacular dinner at the five-star restaurant.

    « Excellent Weekend »

Had an spectacular time with friends and family. Alexandra's restaurant is top nudge!! It has become my favorite hotel in PR. It's the jewel of the south! Great staff attitude. I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway!

« Unwinding at the Blissful Copamarina »

We had a great experience. When we checked in we needed the sofa bed to be made up for our 14 year old daughter. Before we even got to the room, they were making up the bed. We had a beautiful view, as does virtually every room. The staff was very friendly and warm. The food delicious. Make sure you take the boat to Gilligan's Island. It was just paradise over there and just $8 for the ride from the hotel doc. Take food and water because you won't want to leave! It is a perfect place to hang out in the water - no real beach on the island.

« Relax and gorgeous setting »

definitely paradise. If you want to relax and unwind, this is the perfect place to do it. It is not crowded, beach is very private, food is good. If you are looking forward to people watch and have poolside activities and music, this is not the hotel for you. But if you want your space to just enjoy a book, have a cocktail and sunbathe with no constant hassling, it is the best place. Food is good and prices are reasonable for a hotel. Would prefer to have more waiters in the pool area so you don't have to walk up to the bar. Check in and out was seamless and staff were pretty nice all around. would definitely go back!

    « Relaxing »

We stayed for a couple of nights in Copamarina Beach Hotel and in general it was a good experience. The rooms are spacious and include a balcony that heads to the pool and beach. The food at Las Palmas Café was excellent. Everything they serve is delicious. Service is friendly. I would recommend anything in this restaurant. Here are the things they can fix to become better: 1. Wi-Fi does not work in some room areas (buildings 4 to 5). 2.Guest services could have better resources for customers. In general this is a good place to relax, recharge and have an extraordinary gastronomic experience.

    « Dr »

The best Puerto Rico's Hotel. It is in the south of the island, facing the Caribbean Sea, so its beach it's a real paradise. In front of the Hotel Copamarina, there is a small island (Guilligan Island), for which they have a ferry to transport guests.

« Needs lots of updating! »

We just returned from this hotel. Beautiful nature all around, great food but not much else. Rooms need tons of attention. Humidity is absurd , maybe we can blame the rain ( it actually never rains a lot but this weekend it poured) many guest reported on flooded rooms because of the heavy rain. Those points could be taken care of I think. The bathrooms need serious updating , no storage , no counters they are top worst I've seen. The floors look dirty and are super slippery is dangerous. Beds are fine but there is nothing comfortable about the rooms, they look old and to me that's a deal breaker. No valet parking, just two bellman in a very much expected full hotel? Seriously?!? Not impressive . On the pleasant , good food and drinks. Many pools and even in a full house it doesn't feel like it. The road to get to the hotel is not recomendable to travel by night because there is no illumination , is very narrow and just doesn't feel safe. So be prepared to take the risk if you want to go out at night or if you'll be arriving by night take this into consideration. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel if you are looking for comfort, luxury and pampering. This hotel is more like a practical , simple room with beautiful surroundings , nice food and drinks while the sun is shinning bright. It is an absolute disaster under heavy rain.

« Pleasant Paradise in Puerto Rico »

Absolutely amazing. The best weekend getaway ever. With spacious sorroundings you will never feel crowded. Everything clean and neat. Exceptional service throughout the entire hotel. Excellent management. A breakfast from heaven. Travelers do not leave Puerto Rico without having a breakfast here. Dinner was just exquisite. A+ Recommended!!!!

    « Not a BW Premier »

We recently returned from PR and the Copamarina BW. We found the hotel to be ok but not what I would think premier status would be. Our check in was good. We were given a two double bed room. It was on the small side. The bed was comfortable and the pillows, non feather as I requested. However, the floor was wet/slimy and therefore hazardous - humidity, so the air conditioner had to be set to below 72 F which we found too cold for us. And the air conditioner was noisy. The light fixture between the beds wouldn't turn on or off without playing with the switch. Dresser drawers were sticky. The toilet handle had to be held down to flush. The shower water was tepid and weak. Moreover, the restaurant was expensive. Breakfast for my wife and I was consistently $50 US. Only one of the restaurants was open as there were not a lot of guests while we were there. The restaurant boasts of a 2 for 1 happy hour. We were charged $9 for the one beer I had. I was charged $9 for 2 beers that I had with my diner the next night. So, "happy hour" seems to be a misnomer. We found the staff courteous and the grounds well kept. The beach is nice but bring water shoes as the bottom is muddy and weed covered.

« if you are physically disabled do not go to Copa Marina. »

Physically disabled? do not stay at Copa Marina. Reservations are not guaranteed, even when booked months in advanced. The room is expensive, small and far away from rehearsal/wedding facilities. Never again!

« Would be nice ... if the room was clean »

Pros: - on the water with nice garden/pool or sea views from either floor (all rooms face the water) - 2 big pools & beautiful grounds on the Caribbean Sea - reasonably priced water sport rentals (kayaks, SUP, Hobie Cats, peddle boats) - ferry to Guilligan's Island from hotel dock - Great restaurants with outstanding food - nice sized rooms - Fall special was a good price wish F&B discounts - staff was friendly and helpful Cons: - BIG CON: room felt filthy - clumps of long black hair on the sofa bed and dirty tile floor - floor was damp during the entire stay - dead mosquitos smashed on the walls and ceiling (killed 8-10 of our own during a 2 night stay) - Ants in the bathroom - AC unit wasn't working and it took 2 attempts and 40 minutes to repair (at 9pm) We considered checking out after one night but decided it was too late to make the drive home.

    « Leisure »

2 stars for the view. Rooms are tiny and not worth $250 a night. I had to pay extra $39 for my 15 year old. No toiletries or soap in room when I arrived and when I called front desk for them (and extra towel) she caught an attitude. I will NEVER come here again and discourage anyone from coming here. Save your money for a better hotel on the island. There are many other better ones with a great view. Don't waste your money on this place. Customer service sucks.

« Perfect place to relax »

Stayed Aug 16-19 2016. I was looking for a place away from the crowded metropolitan area. In my experience was exactly what I was looking for. First, local classes already started. Basically, we had the hotel to ourselves. The hotel is very quiet. No casino, no dance club. The beach is not the best but you walk or drive to Caña Gorda or tbe Hotel can take you to Guilligans Island now called Cayo Aurora. This was a plus for me. The Cayo is beautiful. You can visit it as many times as you want during your stay. Exeptional Customer Service.

« Very Nice and worth the trip! »

The resort is very nice and we always enjoy our time there as we have stayed there several times. There is plenty of space to roam around the resort and the pools are very nice. If I had to complain it would be that the restaurant leaves something to be desired. The wait time is long even when it is not crowded and the prices tend to be on the high side. The food is not bad, but it is not the best. The only reason I go to the restaurant is because I do not want to leave the resort and drive 20 minutes to get something to eat and I believe the resort knows this which is the reason for their prices. Unfortunetl you do not have many food options because of the location. The location is beautiful but with that comes the fact you are a couple of minutes away from civilization. You can also go to Gilligans Island right from the resort which is great and I highly recommend as one of my favorite beaches. La Parguera is about 30 minutes away and there are some nice things to do there as well. Great place and much better than the San Juan area in my opinion.

    « Beautiful place »

The grounds at this place are amazing. The views are just beautiful. The swimming pools and jacuzzis are wonderful. Before coming every time I mentioned to a local I was heading to Copamarina, they'd give, you will like that place. Lots of different things to rent for water sports. The cafe was our favorite, less expensive and outdoors with killer views. Loved the bar overlooking the ocean. The resort offered a cheap ride to Gilligan's Island....a MUST! We enjoyed massages as well, awesome! The only downfall was the actual resort's beach, tons of sea grass...not a place I'd swim. That said, plenty of great beaches around....and a pool was a nice change. No one warns you of this, but a very long drive on a crazy turning road that you wouldn't want to do at night on your arrival.

« Scuba Diving in Guanica »

Our family of four, two boys 12 & 16, went to Guanica for a scuba diving trip and to also visit family from PR. The hotel grounds were beautiful. The room was pretty nice, no complaints. The beach was fine for a quick little snorkel, no reefs or anything but plenty of seagrass and fish. The beach wouldn't be great for swimming, it's a bit "squishy" on the bottom. The hotel had two main pools. One 6 ft and one large 3 or 4 ft, two kiddies pools, two jacuzzis. The hotel offers many activities, diving, snorkeling, trip to guilligans island, kayaks etc. All of it is crazy expensive, as is everything at the hotel. The food was expensive. So much so that we ate breakfast twice and then went to town every other time. Just down the road from Copamarina is a restaurant called San Jacinto, maybe the best empanadas I've ever had and the prices are great. Rental car is a must. I would recommend you go to kmart, walgreens, etc and buy water, pop, and sundries for your stay. A bottle of sunscreen at the hotel is $11. The purpose of our trip was to go diving/snorkeling and to visit family, so Guanica was a great choice for us. Depending on your purpose the Copa may or may not be what you're looking for. Nightlife is non-existent, which we loved, but if you're looking for that this hotel may not be the right choice. The hotel is very relaxing, great place for families and a really nice base for exploring the west side of the island. We booked all of our excursions through the hotel, Capt Frank was great. The diving was amazing. Bio bay was great (my 12 year old did get stung by a jelly, which wasn't so great). You can head up to Tres Steps in Rincon for walk in snorkeling....much cheaper than booking through hotel. I hope this review helps. I would stay there again, probably to reminisce when I'm much older. For right now, I wouldn't go back because we've seen everything there is to see in the area and there are so many other places to go. Happy travels.

    « Beautiful place »

I've always loved this place. My wife and I were married here (right on the beach) and we've stayed in the place a few times since then, most recently in July 2016. It's situated in a somewhat secluded area overlooking a calm beach in the southern section of the island. I find the the drive to location breathtaking, with jagged cliffs overlooking the ocean, but certainly not for the faint of heart as the roads are extremely narrow and require significant driving skill. The place has held up pretty well over the years although the rooms could stand some updating. It's generally very clean, the staff are very courteous and helpful and the grounds are pristine and picturesque. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet and peaceful getaway.

    « Disappointing »

This is a beautiful place, great customer service in restaurants and pool areas. We had so much fun. Then, check out time and everything changed. They messed up the account it took hours to get fixed, the manager didn't show up to help. We had to insist for her to come assist. Once back in Ga. More charges. A month and a half later another charge. They don't communicate within themselves and don't make notes, is unbelievable we are still calling to get things fixed. I've traveled around the world and never experienced this. Such a shame!

    « Mosquito Paradise »

This place is beautiful, has 2 pools and 2 for the kids, the food at the restaurant is very good, the view is spectacular and you can rent equipment to enjoy water sports, they also offer an excursion to Gilligan's island, the only part that my family and I didn't enjoy is the Mosquitoes after sunset are all over the place and they won't leave you alone, I went there during August 2014 and the hotel used a fumigation system to try to reduce the amount of mosquitoes but It didn't help. Other than that is a nice place, located in a quiet small town, rooms were clean and spacious and they're not modern at all but it didn't bother me because they were well maintained.

« And there it is... »

Who would expect to find such a treasure. You're driving down a windy almost dangerous road, when all of a sudden you see this amazing glorious tropical the middle of nowhere! The entrance to the resort is breathtaking. The front desk was helpful and very courteous. We were giving the opportunity to view the room before making any commitment to staying there. The rooms aren't luxurious by any means, but they are clean and neat. The restaurant and the bar had great food and drinks. Some may find them a bit pricey but after staying in resorts on the east coast and paying $80 for breakfast, we thought the prices were more then fair. The setting of the hotel is story book romantic, wind swept palm trees beautiful beach with cabanas for you to enjoy. Absolutely stunning. The trip to Gilligan's Island was a great adventure too! Lots of sea creatures to discover. So in order to have a perfect tropical resort, you need the right people running and assisting the guests. My husband and I work in a service industry and know the importance of going that "extra' step. The staff at Copamarina was amazing. We visited with many of them at length, many of them had been there for over 20 years, We visited with guests that have come and stayed each year for the past 20 years! I read the other reviews, not every resort is going to fit every guest, I value each and everyone's opinions; but for us, Copamarina was near perfect, even with a few imperfections, the staff there made us feel welcome, important and part of their community. They are doing a lot of things right. I look forward to the time we can return

    « Truly tropical stay »

Throughout the years this resort has not change much, and they don't need to. This resort is an amazing representation of what A tropical resort can offer. It is different from the big name hotels. They are family friendly and very cordial. They feature a spa, pools, beach, marine sports rental, boat trips to Gilligan Island. Located near the "bosque seco" and not far from La Parguera. Excellent for young and old. Locals favorite.$$

    « Not my favorite »

We travelled around the big island of Puerto Rico and Vieques for 12 days. This could be so, so much more but it appears a bit tired and worn. Customer service (except the bar) was pretty much non existent. Our first disappointment was the big rodent trap that was just outside our room. There was some sort of large white rodent in it and it had fallen off the pillar and was rolling around in the grass. I did tell the front desk and they came and emptied it and strapped it back onto the wall. I get that there are rodent issues on the island, but it was a bit too up close and personnel. The second bummer was the beach as it was a pretty muddy bottom with a lot of vegetation. They do have nice hammocks and sunbeds but get there early if you want one. The third bummer was the pool near the lobby. There were TONS of bees IN the pool swimming around. My children and my husband were stung multiple times before they figured out that the bees were on top of and under the water stinging them. The room was a 3 of 5. The food was a 3 of 5. The service was a 2 of 5. The bar was nice and there was good local flavor. The drive to the resort is scenic. Drinks I found to be very expensive. Stop at the little store in Guanica on the way to the resort and stock up. The one saving grace to the whole experience was our trip to Gilligans island. We went on a rainy Thursday and rented kayaks from the surf shop. The island was really neat and we were one of 8 people there. We were able to paddle the lazy river and around the entire island. We found sea urchin skeletons, coral and large conch shells. I just felt as if they could have cared less for my business. They were plenty busy for June with a lot of locals, so I guess they don't need my business. We won't be back.

    « Roberto Espinosa »

Excellent Facilities. Great Restaurant! Magnificent Beach with Gilligan Island so close in the boat that Make the visit a Great Experience. The explendorous Caribbean Sea in a small boat experiences with great sunrises and sunset. The whole family enjoy a lot.

« Very good with the potential of being great »

This is my fourth time staying at Copa Marina. The resort is located in Guanica, a town southwest of Puerto Rico. An excellent place to get away and relax. I always enjoy the beautiful gardens and Caña Gorda beach. The gardens are really well kept and the common areas including the pools are very clean. The staff is super friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are clean and spacious. This resort has so much potential of being great with a few minor changes. Las Palmas Cafe, the restaurant on premises is great for breakfast. However, this is an area that in my opinion the resort must improve. The service is slow. The waiters/waitress are very friendly and try their heart out, but it seems that they may need additional staff. I know that everything takes longer in Puerto Rico, but if the resort wants to attract more tourism this should be something to consider. The prices are somewhat high for the food they serve and the variety is limited. The taste of the food is just OK. Nothing spectacular. Many people prefer dining out of the the resort for this particular reason. Also, not related to the restaurant is the distribution of beach towels. I went in three different occasions to get beach towels, but they were out. The staff extremely polite and friendly stated: "I am so sorry, please come back in half hour". This is in my opinion unacceptable. Regardless, I always enjoy my stay and I look forward to the next time. In spite of this little, but very important things I recommend Copa Marina.

    « Absolute Beauty!!!! »

I cannot even begin to explain how absolutely beautiful this place is. The entire city of Guanica and Puerto Rico as a whole. This was my first trip here and this was the first stop for me and my group. We were only able to stay here one night and one day unfortunately due to family changes in the number in our party but the time we were here was wonderful! It is so beautiful from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep. It is so peaceful, so beautiful, watch people canoe, play in the pool, relax in the hot tub, have a drink at the bar, have lunch poolside, or just take a walk around the property. The surrounding beaches are also beautiful to explore and enjoy. I unfortunately did not get to experience much of the facilities beyond what I already mentioned but if I ever find myself returning to the area I would absolutely 100% stay here again. I truly truly enjoyed my visit and I absolutely recommend anyone to stay here and see such a beautiful part of the island.

    « Great for a relax vacation »

Our stay at Copamarina Beach Resort and Spa, unforgettable. It has to become a family tradition. Love the food and the pools. Beautiful property, all the surroundings are gorgeous. Near La Parguera, gives you the opportunity to try different food options and other nice spots to enjoy the sun.

« Could make small changes to have a positive/better impact with tourists »

This place is charming and could do so much better for their guests. Given that the price per night is not cheap, and it is a long driving distance from the San Juan airport, management should definitely look into their issues. Once you leave the highway ramp and drive further towards the small stores selling liquor, the road to the resort is in dire need of being cleaned from graffiti and trash along the road. The amount of trash in the short distance once you drive thru the last traffic light is terrible, and could definitely be providing a home for mosquitoes to breed. Sadly, you sort of feel tempted to turn around and not continue driving. My wife & I visited the resort in July for a full week, and although the location is excellent for privacy and relaxation, we found a few things which could have been easily fixed lacking attention, posing a threat to the guests. The bathroom window screen in the bathroom was not properly sealed and needed to be properly installed. Given that we are in mosquito season, it only seems reasonable to check the windows are properly secured and closed. There were several spots inside the bathroom walls which needed to be touched up with paint, to make the area look cleaner. The wait time at the restaurant was at times too long for dinner & the menu could be easily improved and provide more options to guests. The recycle containers were usually full (which definitely attracts mosquitoes or bugs) - That means they were not being supervised properly in order to remove the glass/plastic bottles. The trash containers were also full often, which presents the same issue with bugs and bees. There were exposed nails around the kids pool (easily accessible and located close to the lobby within everyone's reach) - Anybody could have suffered a major accident needing stitches with the size and exposure of the nails in both ends of the wood boards. In addition, there was a nice size hole in one of the boards, which could easily cause a trip hazard or a fall from a child, or an adult watching the kids in the pool. The gift store is lacking air conditioner and proper ventilation. After 10 mins at the store, we decided to leave. We could not understand how guests are supposed to feel comfortable shopping if there is no air conditioner to alleviate the heat and make your shopping experience an enjoyable one. The palm trees over the beach huts are in great need of being replaced. Again, we noticed this was another change which could make a huge difference. All employees were extremely polite, professional and approachable. Staff often stopped to offer any help needed with a welcoming smile. Management should always remember their workforce is the strongest asset they have to place the best foot forward with their guests. Please look into these issues and resolve them asap. There are many other hotels closer to the airport and the Old San Juan area. We hope to come back.

    « Most relaxing vacation »

I was in need of a relaxing vacation, since most my time off is spent on meetings with a bit of time off. This is the vacation I needed. The hotel is in an isolated part of Puerto Rico-Guanica. The hotel is close to Cana Gorda beach, which is clean, and serene as a swiming pool. The hotel has two swiming pools and three jacuzzis, two of them being hot. The boat to Gilligans island was great, albeit full, since the locals were celebrating the PR constitution. But we found a nice spot by mangroves, which house some very beautiful fish. The breakfast buffett at the restaurant was outstanding, the lunch mediocre and dated, mostly sandwishes, burgers and pizza. Dinner was better, with rice and beans well seasoned, but fish was a bit hard, probably previously frozen. Restaurant needs to get rid of the iceberg lettuce salad; I don't know why restaurants still serve this, it is dated and not a good deal for eight dollars. I would go fot the spinach, which is much better. The staff of the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful, which is the norm in Puerto Rico.

    « charming »

this resort is somewhat secluded and quiet, ideal for a relaxing vacation. The staff was helpful but seemed in need of slightly more training. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. The beach is very nice with beautiful sunset (do not miss taking pics at that time) but the sand near the water was somewhat muddy and had a mooshy consistance, the water is very shallow which doesn't make for good swiming conditions. Howerver the pools more that make up for that. Also adjacent to the resort is a very nice public beach where you can swim. we tried both restaurants and both had excellent food and service. the room were decent but nothing spectacular.

    « 3 days of peace »

Went wife my wife and little kids in July. We had a very good weekend. Good service; great housekeeping team and director; very good service from desk help. Breakfast experience could not be better. Very easy and pleasing for families. 8/10 overall experience. The only thing I would rate with 3 stars is the overprice Menu at the Alexandras Rest and the little vegetarian alternative at the Palmas Rest.

    « VERY NICE!! »

As a local, and having stayed in other resorts throughout the island, I did not think I would be overly impressed with CopaMarina... but I am happy to say I was wrong. This hotel has very nice pools and very pretty landscaping, and they also a very friendly staff. Rooms include a small fridge, which is good to keep water and snacks. They have ferry service to Gilligans Island, which we went to several times during our stay. The hotel is also not far away from other tourist attractions such as Cabo Rojo, and La Parguera. We hope to go back soon!!

    « Relaxing and beautiful »

If you want to get away and be surrounded by water and be in swim-ware and take time to disconnect for a few days this is your place is for you. You can get a massage, play tennis, snorkel, and sit back. You can also take a trip to Gillian's island from the hotel for $8 p/p, don't forget to rent chairs, bring towels, food and drinks or order food from hotel. There is a fridge in your room which you can stock up with drinks and snacks. The property is beautiful, well kept, clean rooms and daily service. The atmosphere is serine and the quietness is relaxing. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets and evening strolls by the beach and throughout the property. During the week only Las Palmas Cafe is open - serving a great buffet breakfast (made to order omelets, oatmeal, fruit, breads, etc) lunch, drinks and dinner. The flys are a turnoff but not much can be done when you are outside. On weekends the Alexandra restaurant is open to enjoy a more fancy dinner indoors. Both Islanders and tourists come to the hotel as it's well known and a great getaway. You can also venture out of the hotel but note it's best to go during the day as the road is not lit and narrow, especially for two-way traffic. Another plus you park right by your room and no valet fees. The only negative was the pool temperature, it was disappointing as it was too warm, you want to get into cool temperature pool when the hot sun is in full force. Other than that it was great and I would go again with my husband and bring the whole family next time.

    « A big surprise »

This hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. The pools are very family friendly and they have a ferry to Gilligan Island. The hotel restaurant is very good and the fish were very fresh. The beach is calm and nice for the kids and the view is amazing.

    « Pools closed from 9PM to 11PM »

Perhaps the strangest time ever to close pools for maintenance. Not sure if they do this every night, but they did it on the Friday night I was there. A/C unit did not have an auto feature if i recall right and foam pillows made for a poor night sleep, hence poor rating. Wi-fi also slow. Serve a breakfast buffet outside for I think $15.

    « Good stay »

For us was an average hotel, beautiful views all around it. It has a private boat that takes you to Giligan's Island which is great. Pools are nice. Food is one of the things we think they can improve and also the service there. We didn't have any issues with room service.

    « Tropical retreat! »

Very tropical ambiance! Beautiful views from all around the complex. Two pools with beautiful beach view. Pools don't have many shade areas and at certain times of the day it's almost impossible to be at the pool without shade. More umbrellas at the pool side would be great since there are about 4. Mojitos by Neysha at the bar next to second pool are great and she and all the staff will go all the way to make sure you have a great time. Nice gazebos at the beach were you can bring your chair and enjoy the beach protected from the sun. Breakfast buffet at Las Palmas Café is very good. We has dinner there too and food was exquisite. Ronald was our waiter and his suggestions were very good. All staff is really nice and helpful and they are always ready to make sure you enjoy your visit. If you have a chance take the hotel ferry to Aurora Key(also known as Guilligan's Island) but make sure to take pleanty of drinks, snaks, a nice beach chair and your favorite floating device. If you are going during the weekend make sure you go early as space there is limited.

« Good service and great ammenities »

This resort was worth paying. Has good pools and is a family hotel. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. View was amazing. Beach is right in front. Good service and great amenities. Great for relaxation and having good time with family. Free wifi in rooms. I would recommend.

    « Don't believe the hype!!!!! »

We stayed days to celebrate my birthday which was on June 30th . First off the room smelled like humidity. The master bathroom toilet was broken we called but nobody ever came to fix. We had to remove the top lid to manually to flush it. The next day house keeping never showed up during the day. Again we called and they sent someone that told us that she was going to try her best since she was leaving in a hour. We were paying a thousand dollars a night for this type of service. We were also told that we would receive gift basket two nights in a row. What we got was a small shopping bag with some candy bars. The trip to gillian island was just pitiful it is a patch of dirt sand some vegetation there were so many people packed in to a small area. That it gave pack as sardines a new meaning. From the main road to the hotel is four miles of curve after curve on the smallest road I've ever seen. The only good people that seemed to like there jobs were at the cafe in the mornings . I will never go back. People there are plenty of places to visit in Puerto Rico this isn't one of them.

« Beautiful setting for luxury hotel »

Areas of Guanica can appear uncared for, but not so at the Copamarina hotel and resort. It is total tranquility and beauty. The rooms are spotless, staff is friendly, and the views spectacular. Everything you need is available, from kayaks, fresh water pools, bars, spacious lawns, ferry service to Gilligan's Island, air conditioned rooms, and more. The three of us really relaxed there after my daughter and I spent mornings scuba diving 20 minutes away. The only disappointment for us was that the main restaurant was closed during weekdays, which limited the menu selections. Wish we had known of that beforehand. The menu on display outside the closed restaurant looked really interesting, and wish we could have sampled their main offerings. The option available during the week is the attractive open bar adjacent to the closed restaurant, which served fairly good, but limited, items. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

    « 30 Aniversario Medicina 86 »

Beautiful resort right at a beautiful beach front, palms trees dancing with the breeze, sound of soft waves breaking, birds singing... friendly, kind and beautiful staff, clean and comfortable rooms with nice towels and bed linens, excellent weekend! To improve: volume and selection of music at the swiming pool area, shouldn't the music match the guests taste(not the employees')? WiFi service good but there is room for improvement. I want to come here many more times, I hope next time I can enjoy the peace of the surrounding nature without the loud music. I hope a future family wedding is celebrated here, all depends, will let you know.

    « Amazing Vacations ! »

Beautiful Tropical Paradise in the south ! Excellent service, great rooms, awesome nature !! Delicious food. Near attractions like Finca El Girasol, el malecón, a vineyard, and Gilligan 's island is a most. No microwe in the rooms neither basketball court. But you got all the others amenities like the Spa, the massage I take was divine, water sports like Kayak, tennis court the lovely pools and of course the beautiful beach. Highly recommended for couples and families !! A must go !!

    « AMAZING »

A friend had her ceremony and reception here at the Copa Marina beach resort. I stayed here for 2 nights and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, a little rustic but still very nice and the staff and great. The beaches are clean and not too crowded. When we went, staff told us the resort was 90% booked but you would never know. It was great that it wasn't crowded. I ate some of the food and it was good, the drinks were delicious as well. As far as attending a wedding here, it was absolutely gorgeous, the food was great and the venue they have in the premises for weddings is very cozy and perfect for a small destination wedding. All in all, my experience at Copa Marina was a great one and I can't wait to return with just my husband!

« OMG this a secret beach getaway Rare a must »

    « Paradise location! »

We just finished our annual convention here at Copamarina. The beachfront setting is spectacular, only topped by the outstanding food and attentive service. The rooms have all been recently remodeled as well as the new hardcaping and landcaping making the grounds beautiful. Thumbs up all around!

« Looked for secluded retreat with my hubs »

I'd heard from friends it was a great resort. We needed a quick getaway, preferably local, so we could unwind from huge burnout by work. I booked on a whim, I even booked wrong days- added an early date accidentally - best thing I could have done! The dry beach is an understatement. Bring water shoes, but it's worth it if you walk a little in and can spot fish. No worries, they have hammocks, poolside games, and water sports plus they have a boat to take you to a secluded -don't go on the summer weekends- island and can hang there. Pristine and beautiful waters. Worth it. They even have lunch boxes you can purchase and spend the day. Expect nothing else there. Towels, mangrove and water. Very virgin. Completely different. What I love was that, as far as Puerto Rico resorts go, it was a very adult atmosphere. No real loud 'island' music, just relax. That is an exception in Puerto Rico, believe me! I loved it! Rooms were excellent. Very traditional Spanish windows but allowed for secure and private living. They'd refresh two water bottles everyday. All the staff was so helpful and gracious. It's the first time in a few years that I call a hotel and ask for de-feathered beds and they ACTUALLY had it ready. That hasn't happened in forever, not even in luxury hotels in the states. Minuses... It's very far from San Juan. But if you make plans for a week or so, it's worth it. There's lots of site seeing very near. Another one is hotel menu prices. But they have fridges and allow you to take snacks and water/drinks, plus a near supermarket so you can refill even on alcohol- just don't be too obvious at the pool! I live in PR so to me it's a 'been there done that', but definitely worth it and recommend!

« Great place to stay »

i love this place is beautiful, the service is amazing, the room are special, the beach is incredible, and Gilligan island is perfect the water is amazing and the distance is short form the hotel, really i recommend this place.

« Nice hidden spot on southwest coast of PR »

We stayed here with my husband in early June. It's probably the most beautiful resort on the southwest area. Beach is nice and calm, water is very low and very warm. Sports activities are available during the day. We did not experience the spa or Diving center. There are two restaurants: Caffè Las Palmas (more easy going with open view on the beach) Alexandra (more particular with delicious fish meal). Room are simple, but with everything you might need to enjoy your vacation.

« Copamarina Beach Resort Great Place to Relax »

quiet and charming hide-away on a reef shielded stretch of the beach where you can relax and enjoy the company of your family or friends while swimming or wading. Great food and ambiance with friendly and helpful staff interested in helping you enjoy a little slice of the Carribean. Great place to experience "island time" as off the beaten path so mostly families and couples....

« Great looking property with nice, comfortable rooms »

Went here for a wedding; hotel grounds are very nice, clean, and well groomed. Resort is right on the water with direct beach/ocean access. Limited amenities (one restaurant, one bar, small gym etc) but the view and the outdoor life make up for it. It's definitely a family-oriented place. Highly recommend.

« Best place to stay in Puerto Rico »

Everything at this hotel is of excellence. Ocean view room was to die for, the food incredible and top quality service. They have to great pools overlooking the ocean also. When you go to this hotel you will feel like you have arrived to paradise.

    « 2016 Queen's Summer Weekend »

I've been an event planner for many, many years, and I have to tell you this is the best place you can find in the island to have a reunion or come with the family. I've been planning a yearly high school girlfriends reunion and the facilities and friendly staff cannot be any better. Everyone is so nice, greeting you when they meet you in the way, offering to be of service... really the best when compared to other places. The only thing it's not so good is the service at the restaurant: people as nice as the rest of the hotel, the food is excellent, however, the service is really slow. However, who cares?! Other than that, THEY ARE THE BEST!!! Ask for Carlos to settle you in your room and Gabriel to take you to Gilligan Island... what a treat!!!

« Great hotel, excellent service! »

This hotel is in a beautiful caribbean setting , the facilities are very nice, the rooms super comfortable and the staff incredibly friendly. Highly recommended for those who want to experience a tropical paradise. You can take a short boat ride to go to a beautiful mangrove island, a bioluminescent bay, or just stay at the beautiful hotel pools and beach. Excellent!!!

« Well maintained resort with lots of activities »

The resort has a beautiful maintained tropical grounds on its own private beach. The restaurant serves very good food - I can recommend the Red Snapper. We also walked to the public beach in the afternoon where there was a nice sandy beach and very few people. Our favorite was the trip out to the 'Gilligans Island' for snorkeling and relaxing in the turquoise waters. The boat trip provided by the resort is only $8, We took the trip twice we enjoyed it so much with our girls who are 9 and 10. The rooms were very comfortable with large beds and a small fridge and a view of the ocean. They have 2 large clean pools
