"Excellent service"

05/11/2018

The hotel was very clean and fresh looking. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The shuttle service to and from the airport made check in easy and the hotel provided out front parking for leaving the car while we traveled. Breakfast was welcoming and had many delicious choices. The only thing that was a little hard was the bed.

We stayed here for a week. The room was spotless, cleaned every day. Nice pool but we didn't use it due to the weather being a bit chilly. Good breakfast hot and cold budget style. English tea available as well as all the American delicacies, waffles grits etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Free shuttle to local airport. Not much to do in the area but ideal for as as a base having travelled to a wedding.

Dear Lisa D, Thank you for choosing Best Western Greenville Airport Inn and taking the time to share your experience with us. The staff acts like they dont care. Breakfast was gross mu clothes and items was removed from my room which was a simple mistake. But it took them 2 days and the police to get my stuff back. Never coming coming back.

bw41088, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Dear JosemZ5680VK, Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. It seems there was some misunderstanding with your recent stay at our hotel. The room (on the day of your clothes disappearing) was a misunderstanding on behalf of our housekeeping department where they thought you had checked out and had forgotten your pair of pants and shirt and so that was brought to our Housekeeping Supervisor. However, when our Night Front Desk Agent was trying to explain the situation to you, she felt you were being aggressive and did not want to cooperate with her, at which point she had no choice but to call the police (this was what had taken place on our cameras). Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have brought onto you. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. If I can provide any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Sincerely, Kumud - General Manager

"Visiting family"

07/08/2018

I just started overnight on a Friday. The room was clean. Priced well, for the amenities. I really didn't need a fridge or microwave but may in the future. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly. Since my daughter is moving to the area I'm sure I'll be back. Just a note pool was quite small and shower needed some sort of shelf or ledge for personnel items. There were body soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower but I prefer to use my own products.

bw41088, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Dear Mary F, Thank you for taking the time for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad you enjoyed our location and found our staff very helpful. We will definitely be ready for your visits when you come back to visit your daughter. See you shortly! Sincerely, Kumud - General Manager

"Handicapped Room is not too easy to use"

3
25/07/2018

I spent the night with an elderly relative and we had a difficult time using room 125. The shower has bars but it was difficult to get into a tub situation. If you are having trouble with legs, stepping over the side of tub doesn't work. It really needs a shower that a person could be wheeled in or walk right into. The sink is located in the shower room so another person cannot really use that part while someone else is showering. The bed is so high my relative could barely get up on it. There were really no chairs that would work for her situation. The desk chair rolls and kitchen table by room door has chairs with no arms to push up with. The lighting is very low with very few lamps, etc. There is not really much room to get around in there if you have a walker or wheelchair. The ironing board is in an awkward place and I was afraid it was going to fall on us - no closet - just sitting next to section for hangers. The pillows were so big I could not get comfortable on them. It was a clean room. That is about all I can say positive about it. They just really need to rethink that room altogether. And...it is is so far from the front lobby that a person would have to travel very far to get to breakfast/checkout. It really needs to be closer to lobby. Also beware if you arrive when all the trucker mentor people show up. The lobby was very crowded on a Wednesday at 4PM when we arrived. It took forever because all of these people were arriving to check in for some sort of conference thing...and there was only one person on the desk. I really felt sorry for her, but they really need more staff for those times/situations. Our second stay a few days later was a little better experience but not much. We were in another handicapped room - 115 - The bed was still too high, shower/tub was not any better and room was still too dark. This one has a small sofa and a coffee table by outside door. There really wasn't much more room to move around except near the outside door. Both rooms have a microwave, tv and fridge. Breakfast was pretty good on second morning. We had to leave so early on the first night that we did not get any. Luckily there is coffee available 24/7 so we could make do for an early departure. An exit or two before Pellham Road is Woodruff Road. It has lots of restaurants if you need food while in the area. We picked up dinner at a Chick-fit-a. There is a Panera and lots of other places...

"A Pleasant Surprise"

4
16/06/2018

Hubby and I stayed one night here on our way home from a rafting trip. I had made a reservation earlier in the day at a very, very good rate. When I arrived I was greeted right away and offered several rooms I had a choice of. I chose a very well appointed king room on the ground floor. This hotel is newly remodeled and the grounds are kept well. The pool and surrounding area is very nice and inviting and it goes to eight feet deep which was a bit surprising to me for a motel pool. What I like most of all about this place are the memories it brought back to me of my childhood when I vacationed with my family and we stayed at motor lodges. Thank you Best Western!

"Great pool and clean rooms. Sketchy clientele"

4
16/06/2018

Obviously an older hotel, but it's been recently remodeled. Rooms are nice and clean. Great outside pool area with a large pool that goes to 8ft. Doors to the rooms open to the outside, and a lot face the pool area. Lobby and breakfast area have also been remodeled. Standard hotel breakfast fare (waffles, eggs; sausage, etc), but good and filling. Only downsides to their location is it's difficult to get in and out of the hotel due to traffic. He exit is right next to the interstate on ramp, so there is always traffic. In addition, there seemed to be a lot of men just standing around near the back of the hotel for no reason. Stay by your room or pool and things are good.

"Good hotel with reasonable rates close to airport. Offers shuttle."

4
04/05/2018

This was a good hotel to stay in for one night after flying into the Greenville airport. They offer a shuttle from the hotel to airport and back, which I appreciated since I was meeting someone the next day and did not want to rent a car or take a taxi if I didn't have to. The room was basic and clean. The king bed was comfortable and I liked the laminate floors rather than carpeting. I didn't hear too much noise outside the room. The heat/AC worked fine, and it was one of those days where both were needed. It wasn't warm enough for the outdoor pool to be open. Light from the outside does leak in around the drapes, so it's pretty light inside the room at night. There was a good variety of breakfast items available. It was a small seating area, so it could get crowded. This was more of a motel style with exterior entrances to all the rooms. The corridors were well-lit. I did have to walk quite a ways to find the ice machine. I was on the second floor and there was no elevator, so lugging my bags around was a hassle.

"Great Budget Hotel"

3
29/04/2018

Our regular hotel was booked out in this city so it was very hard to find any hotel available. Not our usual level of hotels but it was what was available. Great price considering the cost of others around there. Newly renovated the lobby and eating area were lovely as were the rooms. An older hotel with with exterior entrances but lovely room. There was no carpet but vinyl floors. All of the modern items were in the room and it was fairly clean (floor had some dirt but bathroom spotless). Noisy guest was our biggest complaint with the upstairs guest walking on the floors. Our sink leaked water under it on the floor (front desk offered to fix but we were on our way out of hotel). Breakfast was hot and variety like most places. So what would I say? If you are used to this level of hotel, go for it. I think you will be very happy with this one. It really was a good deal for the price. I would stay with them again but perhaps use one of the same brands but higher on the chain of services.

"A great nights stay in Greenville SC"

5
07/04/2018

My wife and I visited family in Greer SC over the weekend and stayed at Best Western on Pelham Road outside Greenville SC. It was a great stay! The Best Western was clean and neat and our room was spotless (even for a doggie room!) Hats off to the house keeping staff for a job well done! When a facility tells you they are pet friendly one assumes that they will be tolerate of your pet. Well, this motel not only welcomes your pooch but has constructed a fenced pet area to exercise your dog. (this is first for me as I have stayed in several pet friendly motels but none with a special area for your pet!) I'm sold. We will stay here whenever we return to Greer or the Greenville SC area. The breakfast was well stocked also with two waffle irons and plenty of variety of breakfast foods. The value for the dollar here is really good. And for those of you who will be flying out of Greenville Spartenburg Airport this motel offers parking and a free shuttle to the airport. Check it out!!

19/03/2018

I plan to stay at this hotel again and have recommended it to my friends. The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful, check in was efficient. My room was clean and comfortable. When I went in the breakfast area to get coffee in the morning, the front desk person insisted I'd better take a piece of fresh fruit, too! LOL I chose this hotel because I am traveling with 2 dogs, they gave me a room next to their fenced-in "dog park" - a nice little area where I could let my dogs off leash for a bit and they'd be safe. The dog area was clean, and more important as a woman traveling alone - the parking lot and dog area are VERY well-lit. I felt quite safe outside after dark. They do have a pet fee, but not as high as some hotels. The hotel is right next to I-85 but honestly the road noise did not bother me or keep me from sleeping. There are fast food places nearby.

"Close to airport, clean"

3
09/12/2017

If you have an early morning or late night flight (outside their normal shuttle hours), try Yellow Cab instead of using the "private airport shuttle" through the hotel - we were told it was available before booking, but then were told the driver couldn't make it. Mattresses are acceptable, pillows are trash. Reliable wi-fi, clean, nice front desk staff, close to airport and has free airport shuttle during the day and evening.

bw41088, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Dear H1222PXsarab, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am so sorry that our shuttle service was not able to accommodate to your needs. We do have set times for the shuttle the hotel provides and sometimes we are able to make special requests, unfortunately in your case we were not able to deliver. I do apologize for the inconvenience you had endured to this incident. I will be sure to speak to our specific department to see how we can better manage the scheduling. I do hope you will allow us another opportunity to serve you in the future! Sincerely, Kumud - General Manager

"Excellent service"

04/12/2017

We stayed at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, Greenville South Carolina on the last day of our trip, Nov 28th. Front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. She gave us a gift bag for participatipating with BW Rewards program. Hotel was recently remodeled and it was nicely done. Slept well. We got up early to catch flight at airport so did not take advantage of breakfast. The only negative was a tour bus starting up their engine at 4:45 am and waking me up. But had to get up anyway at 5:00 am so not really an issue.

"Wish we would have been able to sleep..."

17/11/2017

Guest rooms do not have rugs, they only have bare floors, so beware if you are on the 1st floor because you will hear every single footstep of every person in the room above you, and if you happen to be in a room by the stairwell (119, for example), ask for another one because every time someone goes up and down those stairs you will hear it, especially when there are two groups of kids staying there who could care less about showing respect for the other guests, running around upstairs and up and down the stairs yelling. My daughter and I didn't get much sleep because of the excessive noise throughout the night. I tried to call the front desk to complain about the noise (and the fact that there was no TV remote in the room) but kept getting a busy signal. I was in my pajamas and would have had to put my coat and boots on over my pajamas to go to the front desk and complain since all the rooms are motel style and only have outdoor access; there are no indoor hallways. The room was clean but the pillows were tiny and too firm. Breakfast was nothing special and the line was very long due to the two groups of kids. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

bw41088, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Dear Carolyn Weiland, Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. I do understand the issue you had with the group of kids during your visit was extremely uncomfortable for you and your daughter. This is something that was not in our control, we cannot predict what kind of kids or chaperones we will get at our hotel. I know you did try to contact the front desk to help resolve the issue and being unsuccessful reaching anyone and also not having a remote control, I do want to apologize for those inconveniences as these things have being overlooked by my staff. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. "Very Noisy"

14/11/2017

First off they messed up our reservations even though I had a conformation. They did give us a small discount for another room. Before we went to our room, I wanted to get some decaf coffee, and the front desk clerk said the decaf was regular because the regular was not working. He gave me some extra decaf for the room which made two cups. The room wasn't anything special. Even with the lights on it was dreary. The noise was horrible. The refrigerator hummed constantly, the heater sounded like a jet engine, and the noise from the road was non-stop. I constantly had to adjust the TV volume because of the noise. I could even hear when another room ran water. There was a street light that shown in our window and it seemed like daylight even at 2 a.m. The bathroom light would not stay on very long. there was a lot of dirt around the door handles, especially the bathroom. The one positive note was the bed was very clean. The real kicker was the morning breakfast bar. There was NO coffee. The lady working the breakfast bar had to keep telling guests that there wouldn't be any coffee until maintenance got there, but never said when that would be. We would not recommend and would never go back.

bw41088, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I would like to apologize for the issues you encounter with the coffee machine and the noisy room we have fixed the issue with the machine and I had my staff check all the rooms for any issues with heaters and mini fridges rest assured the issues have been resolved. Thank you for the feedback I regret that you did not find the hotel to your satisfaction but will make sure others do not have any similar issues in the future GM

"Great hotel value!"

12/11/2017

We stayed here Nov 9-11 while visiting our eldest who is college locally. As we will be making this trip often now, I think we ha e found our hotel. Check in was quick and friendly, the room was clean and spacious, there was very little noise from the nearby airport as well as the interstate, breakfast had many good options, staff was friendly. We were a bit disappointed our room wasn't cleaned between nights but we found that our door hanger that requested cleaning was torn and lying on the floor outside our room so I don't think that is at all the fault of the hotel. I was able to request clean towels from the desk so we were good. The dog park is a nice touch and I can't wait until the warmer months when we can try out the beautiful pool area. HIGHLY recommend!

Dear domestic_rockstr, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback of your recent stay. I am glad to see that your expectations were met by our hotel. On behalf of my team, we are eagerly awaiting your next visit. Sincerely, Kumud - GM

12/11/2017

Beware!!!!! Credit card compromised by hotel! Staff EXTREMELY rude!!!! Hotel gave someone permission to stay extra days with no authorization on our credit card. Had to file dispute with credit card company to resolve. We will never use Best Western again!!!!

bw41088, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Please let me know what room you were staying in and what days we take credit card fraud issues seriously and I would personally like to see what transpired as I have spoken with the staff and there was no recollection could this have happened with third party booking? Let us know GM

"Horrible staff"

06/11/2017

The staff is very rude at this establishment and make it seem like you are ruining their day by them having to help you. I understand if you are having a bad day I get that but you should never let your customers know that. You are never supposed to be rude to your customers because of that.

"multiple nights in Greenville"

4
29/10/2017

I had to stay three nights in Greenville over a 10 day period. I found this hotel on Hotels.com and thought the reviews were promising. The hotel is in a GREAT location for restaurants and to get to the airport, but parking was challenging the first night due to large vehicles taking multiple spots.

Pamela S, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I think you must have stayed the night champion coach came in. We were not expecting so many buses. Very sorry for that parking challenge. Pamela

"It's a glorified motel"

2
29/10/2017

We pulled up, surprised to see it was motel-style (doors outside the building). The rooms have vinyl flooring instead of carpet, which would be fine if they were clean. Ours looked like it hadn't been cleaned. My children's feet were black on the bottom. We asked for a rollaway bed and it took an hour to get it. We were initially told it would take 20 minutes, which is unacceptable to begin with. We wouldn't stay here again.

Pamela S, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Melissa I'm sorry to see you were unhappy. Most people love the hardwood style laminate floor better than smelly old carpets. If that floor was dirty I really hope you called to let us come help you with it. If you dislike exterior corridor hotels, in future please look at the hotel photos for exterior before booking. I hope that helps you for future. Pamela

"Clean! Quiet! Truck Parking*"

*Truck parking is behind the Burger King, plenty of room for 4 trucks & is right next door to the hotel.Had a great nights sleep on very nice beds & very clean linens. Everything is clean here right down to the parking lot. Employees seem to go above & beyond & couldn't be kinder. Most definitely would stay here again.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking time to review us! We are glad you found a good parking spot. Pamela

We stayed one night at this hotel and it was very good. The room was clean and it was big. The bed was very comfortable. The decoration at this hotel is modern and new. The staff was friendly and serving. We had a good price for our room Overall, very good!

"Do not stay here!!"

1
09/10/2017

Had to stay here 3 nights in a room that was dirty and many of the amenities like the TV did not work well. Worst was the sofa bed that had a stain worthy of a CSI episode. We were placed in an area with questionable patrons, loud noises and in general the room was dirty and in need of many repairs. This is my first review of a hotel and we have had excellent stays at Best Wester in New York. We did not complain as this would just be more disruption to our routine etc.

bw41088, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Charles, I had answered you on another survey you had completed and apologized for a stain on the sleeper sofa and have offered a future stay discount. I looked at it. It looks like someone must have spilled a coke down into the sofa. Those sofa sleepers are not used every stay so i'm sorry you are the one who found it. I wish you had called us to report it. We would've been helpful. The only other thing I saw needing repair were the 2 little holes in the wall where they moved the ironing board. That has also been repaired. Your comment at the end says a lot- 'We did not complain as this would be disruption to our routine'. Sir, you were in our hotel for 3 days. Surely in 3 days if you had all of these problems you mention, you would at minimum want to speak to the manager or at least the front desk. Aside from those 2 problems, we found nothing wrong with the room. I'm not sure what you mean about questionable patrons, if you had called us to say you were uncomfortable with something- you would have found my staff are very reactive and helpful. We are sorry you were so discontent. Pamela Solarek

29/09/2017

Stayed at this venue on our way home from a very quick 1800+ mile 4 day roadtrip. We only stayed one night but were able to sleep well, take a fantastic shower and be on our way. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good.(need some fresh fruit though) Housekeeping behind the bed could have been better but the rest of the room was clean.

bw41088, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks William for taking time to review us. We do have apples, oranges and bananas on our breakfast bar. I wonder if you just did not see it. Would be really unusual for everything to run out. I'm sorry the housekeeping behind the bed was poor, hopefully you reported that. Take care and happy travels. Pamela Solarek

"Clean rooms"

26/09/2017

The customer service was very good. Room was clean. Happy to see hardwood flooring instead of carpeting. Breakfast was good although the gravy and oatmeal wasn't hot enough, just slightly warm. Grits would have been a nice addition to the buffet.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks Annette for letting us know about the oatmeal temperature- We will look into it. We go have individual instant grits packs. Look for it next time. Take care and come back soon. Pamela Solarek

This is a family hotel. Don't be put off by the outside. It looks old but it is very clean, and family friendly. The outside lighting provides the safe and security neded. It was very quiet at night. Its a come back experience.

What a nice review. Yes when you see the older style building you really have no idea how nice those rooms are inside. We have worked hard. Thanks for noticing! It means alot. Pamela

When we made this reservation, it was only 3 days in advance and There were several home football games that weekend. We were surprised by the low rate of about $75. When we got there we were further surprised at what a nie facility it was.

"Not too bad..."

3
22/09/2017

The hotel was very clean and updated, bed was comfy, breakfast was good. I had no issues at all. The only thing I did not like was that it wasn't a typical hotel, all room doors were outside the hotel and you had to go outside the hotel to get to the front office, fitness room, etc. The hotel also had a lot of out of town workers staying so as a woman traveling alone I wasn't comfortable.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi JoAnn, yes we are a well maintained exterior corridor hotel. We do have a considerable number of workers right now because there's just so many new things being built in Greenville. Happy Travels! Pamela

We stopped here late at night while traveling. Great service at front desk. It was busy but the clerk handled everyone quickly. Room was nice, cleam an comfortable. Breakfast was the usual hotel for which was fine.

Stopped at the Best Western to get some shuteye and we're sure glad we did. The rooms were clean and tidy. We also enjoyed a great breakfast! The fitness center wasn't the best but I was still able to get the heart pumping to start the day.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Omar- Thanks for your nice remarks. We have 2 treadmills, weight bench, stationary bike and a stepper. What else would you like to see in our fitness room? Thanks again for the review. Pamela Solarek

"Decent hotel for one night "

3
15/09/2017

Room was ok could have been cleaner. Check in took a while booked using Hotels.com app paid on the app. When checking in was advised I would need to provide a card where a $100 hold could be placed per new hotel policy. Sign noted it would be taken off the card at checkout. This hotel does get a lot of construction workers so I assume issues in the past caused the need for the deposit. But the clerk did mention if we would have booked directly with best western it would not have been needed.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
The deposit is new. We have new ownership who have been used to doing business that way. Most hotels do that with cash sales. We also take a credit card for incidentals when you pay on the internet. That's just a small home, not $100.

"Needs a lot of work"

2
13/09/2017

Would be best if they leveled the building and started from scratch. Not an attractive or comfortable place to stay. Rooms are dull and dank. Noisy. Decor from the 1960's. Room had empty shampoo and soap dispensers. Lack of attention to detail.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Wow. I'm sorry. Our hotel had a 100% room package change in 2016. I'm not sure if you have selected the correct property to review? It's quite confusing to me. Pamela

"Average for price range"

3
11/09/2017

Not spectacular, not disappointing. Absolutely average: price, quality, access, cleanliness, comfort. Service: very personable and professional, even during evening check-in rush. Would recommend based on service alone.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Davida, I appreciate your kind words but would love to hear from you again to tell us what we could do in the future to make us above average. Take care and come back soon. Pamela

"Amazing customer service staff!"

09/09/2017

When fleeing from Hurricane Irma, I contacted this hotel several times. I talked with 4-5 different people it seems. Everyone of them were so helpful and accommodating. I felt bad calling so often but that storm was constantly changing. I booked early to ensure a room. Several of my friends and family also booked. The story was the same. Their staff was amazing. Eventually, the hurricane changed course and is missing us. I canceled my room so others needing lodging could have it. That process, too, was handled with ease. I will definitely use this hotel again and I highly recommend it. These staff members I know were swamped with people calling during this storm and yet they were all polite and kind with each of my many calls. They should be commended by their employer!!

Pamela S, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks Terri for taking the time to let us know how your calls were handled and congratulations for making it through that storm without problems. Please come see us under easier circumstances. Pamela

We aee just moving into the area and people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was located in decent area. Right next to a waffle house which my fiance loves. Getting in and out of the hotel parking lot is a little difficult. The price was reasonable.

Pamela S, Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi there! You're going to love Greenville. It's a wonderful little city and we are very proud. Let us know if we can make any recommendations for you as you get to know the area. Thanks for reviewing us. Pamela

This Best Western was terrific -- all facilities top notch...breakfast, pool, and the room...from the time we checked in with professional staff members until the departure, everything was perfect...breakfast had everything you would want ....the room was super clean and up to date...

"Happy Camper"

4
29/08/2017

I recently came to this hotel because I was attending a dinner party in the area. I booked my room online on the same day that I stayed. When I arrived, Kim immediately greeted me and checked me in. She was very knowledgable and the information easily flowed from her lips. I got to my room and the temperature was pleasant. I chose a room with double beds so I could have a fridge and microwave. From the website, it seemed like rooms with a king bed didn't have the fridge/microwave. You may want to call and ask. Nothing was broken or seemed to be in bad condition. The air worked perfectly which added to my excellent rest. I only stayed overnight, but my experience made me a happy camper.

"Avoid"

1
28/08/2017

The room was dirty and had cobwebs in the corners, and mold or mildew in the bathroom. Also after walking on the floor my feet were dirty. The water in the shower kept changing temperature, from hot to freezing cold, and no amount of adjusting made it better. The other guests were extremely loud and noisy, smoking outside, so much that the smoke entered our non-smoking room. Also other guests would stay outside until 2-3 am, which made it difficult to sleep and stay asleep.

pamelasolarek, Guest Services at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm sorry that you experienced problems in your room. If you called us for help- we would have came to help. I'm sorry that people who are smoking seem to sometimes have no respect for the surroundings. We are considering making the grounds non smoking but have not yet made the move. I will pass along your comments to ownership. Thanks Pamela

"Last minute booking with a pet"

4
28/08/2017

This hotel was very clean and offered an outdoor pet area, though it was very small. The room was a great value and the amenities were a plus. I don't feel that we would have paid full price to stay here. Without the discount we received for this stay the regular price is a bit high for the quality of the hotel.

pamelasolarek, Guest Services at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks Vanessa, We are happy you enjoyed the stay at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn. Please come back and see us again when you travel this way. Pamela Solarek GM

"Unsavory neighbors"

2
26/08/2017

Low-life looking guests in adjacent room came out several times during the night and sat on the sidewalk between our two rooms to smoke. The air conditioner in the wall sucked the smoke right into our room. I paid for a smoke-free room for nothing. I know you can't prevent guests from smoking outside, but you could post a sign about the air conditioners being right there in the wall and ask smokers to be courteous and cross to other side of parking lot.

Pamela S, Guest Services at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Joseph, I'm sorry you had this problem with a guest smoking near your room. If you called to report this to our desk we would have talked to the smoker to ask them to move away from the guest rooms. I understand how that could upset you and I'm sorry. Pamela

"Average Stay/No Problems"

25/08/2017

This motel is in a convenient location. The outside corridors seemed to attract guests that were just hanging out outside. The room itself was nice...hardwood floors added a nice touch. It was very hot outside and the AC unit performed well and was quiet.

Pamela S, Guest Services at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for writing a review Tim. I'm warm weather you do see a lot more people outside and you definitely notice it more in an exterior corridor hotel. I'm glad the AC worked well. Take care. Pamela

23/08/2017

Staff not daunted by the surge of visitors migrating to a viewing site for the 2017 Solar Eclipse. Handled all needs with friendly service and gave guidance on local roads and traffic patterns. Best place to view was around the pool in the courtyard.

"Greenville Best Western"

23/08/2017

Best Western is very consistent in appearance and quality for a reasonable cost. I prefer BW when traveling. Room was comfortable and breakfast was good. This BW was convenient to the highway but I did not notice any traffic noise.

23/08/2017

Very beautiful hotel near Interstate 85. The room is large and well equipped. Nice swimming pool and breakfast are excellent. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Will stay there again. Quiet if you choose a room not close to the swimming pool.

"Convenient to restaurants, shopping and the interstate."

4
22/08/2017

We were visiting our grand daughter and family. The location right off I-85 was easy to find. Willie at the front desk shared some coupons for a couple of local restaurants when I mentioned that we would probably be eating there. Nice. We were in an ADA room w/king bed. The laminate floors are great for wheelchair use and the love seat which could have been folded out for sleeping, was good for just sitting and relaxing. Much better than regular chairs, giving hubby a change from his wheelchair or having to sit on the bed. The bed was comfortable and the whole room was clean. Breakfast was the expected waffles, sausage, eggs, biscuits & gravy, etc. It was kept replenished throughout the breakfast time. All in all, yes, we would stay there again and recommend it.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your super nice comments. We really do appreciate that. Willie is terrific. We agree. Thanks alot. Pamela Solarek

Hotel is showing some age in appearance, hallway and in room. The location was close to the interstate entrance, was some- distance from any type of a restaurant. The hotel did not have many guest at this location. Would not stay there again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm wondering if you're reviewing the right hotel? Our hotel has been 100% occupied everyday since Feb 1st this year. We also have Waffle House, Burger king, Skinz hot Dogs and Coronas in walking distance. I really believe you are referencing another hotel. Pamela Solarek

"Clean, comfortable and convenient to GSP Airport"

14/08/2017

I stayed just one night due to very early morning plane departure. The room has been renovated/rehabbed. The beds were comfortable; the room was clean and quiet. I was directly across from the swimming pool and still felt private and quiet. There is a nice TV; table and chairs; microwave and coffee maker. The flooring is laminated which is great for those of us who suffer from dust allergies!

"Not a bad hotel"

4
04/08/2017

The room was clean and comfortable. The TV was lacking in its picture quality. AC ran loudly and toilet constantly ran. Grounds were clean and quiet. We were in town for the dog show. Dog yard was a bit of a walk from our room and the sprinklers seem to come on mid morning. Front desk personnel weren't of the friendliest demeanor.

Pamela S, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Bonny, thanks for the nice remark regarding your room. Typically my staff have very high marks for being friendly. I'd love to know if there was a problem. With the dog show in town we had so many of you that not everyone could be in the rooms closest to the dog park. We just had freshly laid sod at that time which explains the sprinklers. I'm sorry that bothered you. Pamela Solarek GM

Great Beds and Pillows: Very Clean and modern: I love the fact that it is like hardwood floors- much cleaner: Great Staff: Great location: close to major restaurants and stores: Fairly priced: I bring my own soap and shampoo, it is furnished but----- It is modern like coming out of an Ikea store. This makes 4 or 5 trips for me to this Best Western while on business in Greenville SC. I am most impressed with the happy staff who greet me each time I arrive. You always feel like family here. This trip there were some naughty boys- I learned it was a couple of basketball teams but as soon as I called them at the desk, they took care of it right away. Great value for an airport hotel. Clean rooms well maintained with friendly staff. Good breakfast in a large room, nice and comfortable. Ample and convenient parking. About 10 min to airport and rental car pickup and return.

"I was not satisfied. Drugs and partying was present on the grounds. The bed sank in the middle and felt broken."

When I made reservations I was under the impression that this was a recently remodeled hotel. Upon arrival I found out it was a motel. Because I already made reservations we decided to stay. For the most part the rooms were ok. Except the bed my husband and I slept on was broken, the toilet looked like it had poop on the seat, the a.c. wasn't working so great AND my teenage son was approached by a man asking about marjuanna. One positive note: the breakfast was good.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Deborah, I responded to your hotel survey yesterday. We did check the room and did not find any bed broken, AC was working fine and we do not see where you let us know there was any problem while you were at the hotel. The hotel was fully renovated in 2016. All guest room furniture packages are new, we have new hardwood style flooring, fresh paint, lobby and breakfast room are fully remodeled and new. If you experienced maintenance problems and called us, you saw that we are quick to react and try to solve any problem. I'm sorry that you felt like this at our hotel. We never like to see a guest unhappy. If your son talked to someone who asked him about a drug, just know this is not something we allow at the hotel. We watch for bad business and do our best to get rid of it. We actually have staff patrolling the outside in summer when people are outside around the pool to make sure we are not allowing alcoholic beverages etc. We wish you happier travels in the future. Excellent location, friendly staff, and vet clean rooms. This hotel is a great value compared to others I looked into in the Greenville area. I highly recommend to anyone traveling to this area. I'll be coming back!

"Very Happy With My Stay"

14/07/2017

I was on a rather long road trip and travelling as a pregnant mother with her 2 year old child. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped me with some of my heavier items. I felt very safe at this hotel and was very pleased with the continental breakfast they offered. Everyone in the lobby was very friendly and it was very clean. The only issue with the whole stay was the size of the pillows. We had a kind size bed, so I expected regular sized pillows. They were quite small. Besides that I was very pleased with the room.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you Heather for your nice review. The pillows are standard comforel brand required by Best Western. We put 4 pillows on the king bed because they're smaller and we can most of the time bring you an additional pillow if you request it. Thanks again for the nice remarks. Pamela Solarek GM

Pleased overall with motel. Recommend reservations on line or motel direct. Phone in reservations are thru some travel outfit and room costs more plus they don't pass thru special requests such as "ground floor only" .

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Robert, You will always find our best published price at the brand website. For special requests, we ask that you call us the morning you are traveling to request it. We do not otherwise guarantee any certain area or floor for a room. I hope this helps you in the future. Thanks for your review. Pamela Solarek GM

Not much to look at on outside but very pleased inside. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. Easy on and off highway. Room very clean and comfortable beds. If you have a very large vehicle ...it could get tricky to find parking. Pool nice and clean and very nice fitness center.

The hotel meets the expectations of the customer. It is neatly maintained and the staff are so polite and very helpful. The management steps in whenever is needed. I have been staying in this hotel since 2014 Jan and I never had any issue or problem with any of the amenities. I do remember the Hotel owner staying with customers during the storm where there was a power outrage throughout the town. Over all my experience was good with the hotel stay.

Thank you Srini. Your loyalty to our brand and our particular Best Western has not gone unnoticed. We truly appreciate you sticking with us through renovations, rate increases, staff changes and more. Guests like you are very valued and loved. Pamela Solarek GM

26/06/2017

It was OK but not what we were expecting especially for the price we paid in comparison to an actual Hotel. Cleanliness was OK. Suggestion: The AC works better if you move the table away from the front of the unit.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Mary. I'm sorry you were not wow'd by our mid range hotel. Our rates are typically well in line for our area. Summer months you will find higher rates than winter months based on demand. Let us know what we could do better in the future. We'd love to hear from you. Pamela Solarek GM

"Willie is Still the Man!"

20/06/2017

We were here last July when I reviewed and mentioned Willie at the front desk. I was so excited to find him there again this trip. He's still top-notch with customer service. Our room was perfect. The updates to the property continue to impress. They have added eggs and sausage links to breakfast. Rooms still extra clean and used the laundry facilities again - still in great working order. The night desk rep was extremely nice and professional too, although I did not get her name. She stopped eating her supper and came over to check me in so I would not have to wait - very much appreciated. Pool was being used by many and was clean and clear. Plenty of ice in the ice machine, even with the property full. We'll be back in July!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for this delightful review. Willie is our one man show. We love him too and thank you for recognizing his exceptional customer service. We look forward to having you back in July. If Willie is not here during the day you will find Alex. She is also very nice. Pamela Solarek GM

My family and I stopped at this hotel for a few nights. We had 5 adults, one handicapped, and a newborn infant. They were very accommodating and friendly. The prices were great! 10/06/2017

This property was reasonably priced and definitely first rate. The courtyard and pool area were a pleasant surprise for a basic 2-storey motel - well-maintained and a nice area to relax. Get a courtyard room if you can. This property does not have an elevator but does offer ADA rooms on the first floor.

Spent June 2nd & 3rd at the Best Western Greenville Airport Inn and it was a very nice stay. The check in was very quick and the staff were very courteous. 08/06/2017

Needing a place to stay in Greenville for a lacrosse tournament, I booked this with a low rate on triple A.. For what I paid, I was not expecting much.. And my expectations were more than exceeded! The room was clean (re-done wood-like floors) added to that.. Had plenty of towels and well working AC, microwave and refridg/freezer. Also the pool is good sized (plenty of room for about 25 kids). My son liked the breakfast which was included.. All in all a good stay at a great price! Not to mention, Willie did a great job checking us in!

"Average room but poor cleanliness"

2
07/06/2017

Room was average but the cleanliness was terrible. Greasy hand prints all over the head board of the bed as well as dust on top of it that appears it hasn't been wiped down in quite some time. Cleaned it all myself. 3 large finger/toenail clippings on sink vanity behind the water faucet. Absolutely visible to anyone who washed their hands, not sure how house keeping missed them. Definitely suggest better house keeping as well as better upkeep of so the called "dog park"! Other than that, it was an average room.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hello, I've responded to you on a separate review. We are sorry you experienced these cleaning issues and want you and our other readers to know that we've used your remarks for teaching purpose. We do have a couple of newer housekeepers and one new inspector. There's no excuse for finding something unclean. We promise you to do a better job in the future. I have also taken a look at the dog park and shared your remarks with maintenance cleaning staff. Pamela Solarek GM

"Noisy Stay"

3
30/05/2017

Hotel is average for the price. Not a fan of the rooms being outside, you can hear everything and everyone talking and walking. Hotel is by an interstate and a busy road, which you hear all day and night. Pool was okay, the area around the pool is painted slick and a real slip hazard. Breakfast is very basic. A/C in the room was extremely loud when kicking on, it woke me several times in the night. Rooms were decent, the laminate flooring was very loud as you can hear your neighbors, it also didn't seem clean. I wiped up some spilt water and the napkin was black. I noticed the house keepers cleaning and only saw them sweeping out the rooms, I did not observe them mopping. The room served it's purpose and is adequate for a one night stay. I wouldn't recommend it if you wanted a quiet, restful weekend getaway.

Pamela S, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm sorry you found your floor dirty. I'll let housekeeping know what you observed. I'm sorry you aren't a fan of the exterior corridor style rooms. We cannot change that. A lot of people do like it. Thank you for noticing our nice renovation. I hope you were able to enjoy breakfast. Pamela Solarek GM

"Good for the money."

1
27/05/2017

This hotel was fine for sleep accommodations while I attended an event. I really don't like hotels without an inner corridor due to safety concerns but this is what the group chose. Other than that, the hotel was really nice.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm very sad to see you gave our hotel the lowest failing score simply because it is an exterior corridor layout. The hotel is totally renovated, everything in the rooms new plus we offer snack bags to elite reward members, hot breakfast and our staff try to take care of your needs. It is very disheartening. We are sorry you were unhappy. Pamela Solarek GM

"Don't stay here if you want to sleep"

2
21/05/2017

The worst thing about this hotel was the noisy air conditioner. It wasn't a problem with the unit being broken, these kinds of a/c units are just noisy and the only solution is to replacement. Until the hotel does that, I don't recommend staying here if you want to get a good night's sleep. Also, the room wasn't particularly clean and the sink was stopped up.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm very sorry you had a noisy air conditioner. If you had a problem and called us, we came to see what we could do. We do have other units we change out when there's a problem. Hopefully you let our staff know you had a problem so we could solve it. If not, please feel free to let me know where to look for the problem. We use good Amana AC units. These are like AC units you find in most hotels. If you Struggle with sounds, we also have ear plugs you can request at the front desk. Pamela Solarek GM

"Horrible customer service, noisy location"

1
19/05/2017

We called at 1pm to ask for a room with two beds (and were told no problem). Upon our midnight arrival, we were very rudely told by Kim that there was only one room left with one bed. Not only did she not give any sort of apology, she had a crappy attitude, talked over us, didn't listen and said, well you can always cancel your reservation. At midnight!! So, needless to say, horrible night's sleep plus planes started flying overhead at 6am and lots of traffic noise. If you can avoid staying here, do so!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Jeannie- I opened our system to try to look at your room and I don't see a Jeannie for the past week. If you could let me know the name your room was under I could investigate it some. I could also pinpoint the time and watch the video of the check in to judge the way you state my clerk treated you. Let me know who promised a room change. If you booked a different room style which sounds like the case we have a full hotel and it's very hard to make any changes. Also when you book via Hotwire or name your own price through Priceline - they do not give you a choice on room style. All of my clerks have been on the desk 1-10 years and if a request is made, we do try to accomodate. If you can help me with more details I can certainly look into this further. Pamela Solarek GM

"bad part of town"

2
17/05/2017

run away...do not stay here...go someplace else. Traffic around the place is very bad and the other residents are scary. There are too many other places to stay in Greenville. I made a mistake by not looking at the bad reviews before I booked. Wont make that mistake again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Robert, the traffic here is heavy during parts of the day. Greenville is busy. You will find that is normal in this city. Scary customers- I don't think so. Our business here is a mix of business travelers, leisure travelers and construction workers. Greenville is growing and ours is a very busy hotel. We don't stay so busy by entertaining bad business. We've spent 3 million dollars renovating the hotel- and for certain if we see anything that looks 'scary' handle immediately. Pamela Solarek GM

"Average"

15/05/2017

I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, but it wasn't an amazing one. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was goo. Room was okay, though. You could tell they have updated a bit. Beds were comfy and clean, but wood floors made my feet dirty so I definitely had to make sure to wear socks. Hot water in the shower was on and off and the toilet kept making sounds. I'm not much of a complainer so I felt and it was fine. It's a reasonable price and a reasonable stay.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Rachel- I had called you yesterday by phone to discuss your issues. I appreciate the nice remarks you made. I hope in the future we will be able to become better than average for you. Thanks for reporting the toilet problem. We have solved it. Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

"Dissatisfied customer"

15/05/2017

I requested a non-smoking room, but the smell of cigarettes was terrible. They sprayed some Febreeze after I told them, but it really didn't help. Even the door open for a while didn't help. They had no other available rooms. There were also cockroaches in the room. Cockroaches may be unavoidable, but I was also disappointed with the lack of caring to make my stay more pleasant, although the staff were very nice.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Kathleen- I had responded to you yesterday. We are very sorry that you experienced any challenge in the room and did issue a credit to your folio. See email sent to you yesterday. Your remarks from yesterday were shared with our staff for improvement. Your billing was correct for the room, pet fee and taxes. Again we are very sorry you experienced issues. Pamela Solarek GM

"Clean room & great location!"

4
15/05/2017

This is a great budget-friendly, conveniently-located Greenville hotel! We flew into GSP at midnight and loved how close this hotel was to the airport. The rooms open up to the outside, which surprised us, but didn't end up being a problem -- the walls were thick and we slept soundly throughout the night. The rooms were clean, but instead of typical hotel toiletries, they offered pump-dispensers for soap, lotion, and a shampoo-conditioner combo. The hotel also offered a free airport shuttle, which is awesome and we would've used if we didn't have family in the area! The breakfast was a nice continental spread, and our room was adequately stacked with caffeinated and decaf coffee, but not hot tea. We were in Greenville for a wedding so this was one of the only options on Clemson's graduation weekend, but I would stay here again if the price was right!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Rachel. We have about 9 flavors of hot teas so I'm sure you must have missed that. Next time ask us to point you in that direction:) Thanks for the kind remarks and come see us again when in Greenville. Pamela Solarek GM

"Not a place I would stay again."

Be sure the room is actually stocked with soap, coffee and shampoo, I had to go back to the check in desk and get what I needed. Same thing the next morning after the room was cleaned. I would not stay here again.

Joanne- I'm sorry you were faced with those challenges. Please know I have shown your remarks to my housekeeping manager and she is following up with her staff. We reserved 5 rooms for a family function and had a wonderful time here. Willie accommodated our requests to be close to one another. Breakfast offered an assortment of options and was perfect. 02/05/2017

This was the best option for me. It is very clean and conveniently located. It seemed to be a "working man' motel which is fine but it seemed to be somewhat noisy at night. Definitely not a romantic getaway but a good place to stay at a good rate.

Nice and clean hotel updated nicely, staff was timely and courteous. Stayed 14 days and no complaints with the business, maids come around daily even if there is a do not disturb sign which I did work days till early morning but they were doing their job which I won't complain about because they were nice about it.

"Family Wedding"

3
23/04/2017

Was there to attend a family wedding. Hotel has had some nice upgrades. And it is nice. The issue I had weren't the fault of mangement. Room are nice but need at least a rug on the floor. The floor was cheap lanoliunm. The toliet in bathroom felt like it was sitting on the floor. Breakfast was all processed food. Not good at all. But for those who like it it is okay. I just prefer real eggs & sausage. The stuff they had was all processed and tasted imitation. Alot alot alot of traffic and noise around this hotel. Ppl talking very loud outside room door. Walked out and a man in wheelchair was just sitting in front of our room on the phone. Why he wasn't in front of his room idk. Also, we were there 2nites and after the first nite there, housekeepers came to door with their cart. The music she was playing on her cart was very inappropriate. It was gansta rap. Alot of cursing and use of the N word, she and the other housekeeper with her understood limited English. Which I thought was strange because they seem to understand rap music. But all in all the rooms were decent and clean. Bed was comfortable. I did like that they have the soap, lotion and shampoo mounted on the wall of shower and vanity area. Staff at front desk was very nice. If given the opportunity I don't know if I would stay here again. Mainly for noises/traffic around the premises.

Pamela S, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm sorry you had some issues at the hotel. We are looking into the problems and appreciate you letting us know these things. The flooring is actually expensive- we installed the hardwood style laminate to improve cleanliness. It is typically well received. We have talked to all housekeepers about playing music- of any kind. We do have fresh scrambled eggs 7-9. From 6-7 you will find hard boiled eggs there. We do not have a restaurant license so you will find most hotels to have this type food. We do have fresh fruits and yogurt also. We make the waffle batter and oatmeal fresh. The pastry are thaw and serve and the sausage is heat and serve. Pamela Solarek GM

"Fair Room. Fair Price. Standard Breakfast. Integrity in question."

19/04/2017

On a recent trip with family, we passed through Greenville and decided to stay at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn right off the interstate. Overall, the hotel met our needs for our brief stay. The rooms were clean, there was adequate space in the room, and the breakfast buffet was standard yet satisfying. My disappointment came when we checked out of the hotel and set out for the remainder of our trip. Later that night, my daughter realized that she left her Jordan shoes in the room near the safe. My hope was that the Housekeeper found them and kindly turned them in to Lost & Found. By this time, we had arrived in Georgia. Before panicking and calling the hotel, I instead checked our rental vehicle early the next morning. No Jordan's. I called Best Western and spoke with Willie. Willie said that he would check and give me a call back. Several hours passed and I received no phone call. I called back and Willie took even more of my information down: room number, date of departure, and the description of shoes. Again, he assured me that he would check with the housekeeper. I still received no call. The next morning, I called the front desk to speak with the manager, in which I was transferred to Pamela. Right away Pamela informed me that Erica, the Assistant Manager handles Lost & Found inquiries. Pamela provided Erica's cell phone number and insisted that I give her a call. I left Erica a voicemail and she called back momentarily. I explained our dilemma, and once again provided the same information to Erica that I previously provided to Willie. I immediately fell under the impression that my lost item was not discussed in a shift report, or morning huddle. Each person was oblivious. Erica said that she would check with the housekeeper and get back to me and she did. As expected, the housekeeper supposedly did not find any shoes. Erica made it a point to tell me that this particular housekeeper had been with them for 8 or 9 years. I understand that and it isn't my intention to call anyone a thief, but the shoes are no longer near the safe in the room. Where did they walk off to??? I asked Erica if I could send her pictures of the shoes and she agreed and asked me to text them to her phone. I offered a reward for their discovery and informed Erica that I would happily pay shipping costs. To date, I have received no text reply or update on the matter. I used to work at a 4-Diamond hotel. I know what good procedures are… While I was greatly disappointed in my 13-year old for forgetting to put them back in her suitcase, I was equally disappointed in Best Western. I did not feel valued at all. This experience tainted my views of Best Western. In working in hospitality in the past, we had a “Make it Right” philosophy. Every incident would be recorded in a book and shared in huddles each day. Everyone was aware. Taking action steps to collectively make it right was second nature. Best Western did nothing to make it right! I was met with “she's been with us for such and such years” and that was it. I would have been able to take this as a loss much better if I felt that their best effort was put forth to make it right. Just a few ideas: launch an investigation, interview staff, monitor break rooms…then go back and share with the customer the efforts you put forth to show them that you've done everything you could. Customers respect and honor things like that! Someone is really happy to have a nice pair of Jordan's and is walking around with them on right now. This could have been handled MUCH better. Very disappointed in Best Western.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Kalinda- I have responded to you on your google review. I will just paste that response here as well. I do remember getting a call about Jordan shoes and giving someone a phone number to Erika- as she handles all lost and found. Willie had transferred you to me initially because Erika was not in the building and I was. As you state- you called to Erika and Erika in turn checked to see if any shoes were found in the room and none were. She got right back to you on the matter. This was the right way for us to handle it. You were not getting a run around. We did look into the missing shoes. Erika even looked into it a second time for you when she got the pictures from you and went back to check again. Kalinda- while I appreciate the nice remarks you've made in your review about the property, it is upsetting that you are accusing us of stealing your daughters shoes by the remarks you make in the review. We did our part to help you figure out where the shoes were by researching the matter for you twice and I'm sorry the shoes were not here. Erika felt you were accusing us and that is why she felt she needed to let you know this housekeeper has been with us more than 8 years and turns in lost and found items to us daily. She has no reason to steal your daughters shoes and has proven to us through many years of service that she is not that sort of person. I hope that your daughter finds or has found her shoes. I understand that is upsetting. She did not leave them here with us. Pamela Solarek GM

Exceptional place to stay. Great staff, services, and amenities for the cost. Room was very clean, bathroom was sparkling, and I felt very rested. I couldn't ask more than that for an overnight stay. The breakfast area is good as well!

My husband & I needed to stay one night last minute in Greenville, SC while vacationing. My in-laws typically stay at BW when they travel various places. So we chose BW. Very nice stay. Clean room, handy mini fridge, good rates, very nice people, and nice breakfast. Would stay again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Kenneth thanks a lot for the nice review. I'm glad we were your good, last minute decision and especially that you were satisfied. We do have an upgraded breakfast between 7-9 that includes hot items, not required for our Best Western level. Thank you for noticing our effort. Pamela Solarek GM

We stayed in rm 126. It was great. It looked as if it had been recently updated. Laminate flooring instead of carpet, and that was great! Beds were comfy. Room was very clean. Good breakfast spread . Not just the usual continental. Would definitely stay again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you Connie for the nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed the room and breakfast. Hope you guys won your tournament! Remember us next year. Pamela Solarek GM

"Hotel room pretty good, breakfast not"

14/04/2017

Room and service was great checking in and checking out. Breakfast was a little to de desired. At 7 am there was no fruit both days I stayed, no bisquits first day with the gravy they had. The usual pastries, a pot of oatmeal that you fix up with toppings. No meat or eggs 2nd day except boiled. My room faced the pool so it was nice and quiet, no issues. They did spray the room with something scented that didn't agree with me, as I have asthma. Overall pretty good not counting the breakfast.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Elizabeth. I have responded to you previously in another survey you completed about this stay. I believe you were at breakfast between 6-7am when we were not yet serving hot eggs and sausages. The continental breakfast becomes a hot breakfast from 7-9. This is not required by Best Western for our brand level yet we try to do something extra. It is possible to run out of an item momentarily. We do our best to keep up. Sorry this was not the experience you had hoped for. Sorry also that you did not like the room fragrance. Cold hear everything, esp when people are parting, Here is a key. Dont stick someone that is traveling by themselves next to a room full of people. Esp if there is a door separating them and upstairs neighbors that have 2 kids running all over the place you ca hear everything. Put them near someone that is quiet where they can RELAX!

"Noisy guests and lumpy beds"

2
08/04/2017

The amount of talking, yelling, arguing going on outside my room all night long would lead me to believe this hotel is encouraging a bad element of characters to roam around. Also the bed was not comfortable - it was lumpy.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Elizabeth, 150% our hotel is NOT encouraging any bad element. If people were making noise outside your room and you called our front desk- you found that we reacted quickly and the noise would either have stopped or our clerk would have evicted the offenders. Please let me know what room you were in. I would like to check the bed. Thank you. Pamela Solarek GM

Convenient to airport with free airport shuttle from 5am-midnight. Parking is also available while you are on your trip so stay here and avoid parking fees at the airport. Not a lot of extras but breakfast was nice.

"Affordable stay"

29/03/2017

We were looking for a nice, affordable stay as we traveled north. Hotels seemed so expensive in this area for a quick stay. This Best Western was a good economy hotel choice. The building is older but seems to be well maintained. Our room was comfortable and clean. It was quiet considering the rooms are open to the outdoors.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the nice review. The hotel is older style exterior corridor but yes, we do try to maintain it well. The rooms have had a total overhaul. Thank you for noticing and for letting our potential guests who read the reviews know that. Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

"Perfectly fine"

26/03/2017

Nicely maintained Best Western, with an attractive pool, personable staff, and a good full breakfast. Only complaint is a slow-draining sick, which the desk clerk noted for attention. If the price is right, grab it.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks so much for your nice review. We've worked hard on improving the hotel and appreciate you noticing that. I'm glad my staff were on top of things when you had a sloe draining sink. Please come see us again soon! Pamela Solarek GM

25/11/2016

We stayed here two nights while leaving and returning on a trip. The hotel is comfortable and clean. We only ate breakfast the second stay due to an early departure. Breakfast offered many choices and the room was clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again since they have updated the place in recent years.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the kind words. We've worked very hard on our older style hotel. All new furniture, floors, pillowtop beds, hot breakfast. Everything has had a new coat of paint. Again I really appreciate that you noticed us. Pamela Solarek GM

"Good place until the end "

25/11/2016

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The breakfast is pretty standard for hotels. The water pressure in the shower was middling but usable. The staff was friendly and professional. The one problem that we had was as we were packing up we noticed that the sheets that my kids slept on had a menstrual blood stain. Not very big, and the sheets had been washed, but still, kinda gross.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for reviewing us. I will bring your remark up to my housekeeping staff. Hopefully you mentioned this at checkout. The housekeeping supervisor would have used the example then as a teaching tool to tell them to pay close attention to any stain. I can assure you our cleaning staff are superior. They really care. Pamela Solarek GM

"Nice Hotel, convenient to I-85"

25/11/2016

Staff was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was fresh and good selection. Rooms were clean and well stocked, pillows were great! The only complaint was a small note posted in the lobby that they charged $2.00 per night for an in room safe. You could request a refund if you did not use it upon checkout. The safe was as old as the hotel and was paid for many times over. I think it is just a very poor way to raise the room rate for something that should be included.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. To respond to your comment about the safe- it is an amenity we offer but we do not own. We've considered removing the safes due to the fee but we've found that enough people use the feature that we do need to keep it. You are correct- if you don't use the amenity you can ask for removal of the charge at check out. We've attempted to buy out the contract to stop the charge but the company is not interested. Pamela Solarek GM

29/10/2016

This hotel was average at best! We were catching a flight out of GSP and needed a place to crash as our flight was leaving at 5:30am and we live 1.5 hours away. It was clean and the lady at the check in desk was very personable.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Shelly- What would change us from average at best, in your opinion, to a terrific stay? I'd be really happy to listen to your ideas. Pamela Solarek GM

26/10/2016

It looks like they're working on upgrading things. No construction noise but people painting and paving the parking lot. Beautiful courtyard, big pool, and great staff. The gym is small but has all the basics. The wifi really is free and great signal. It was clean but you could tell it was an older building being upgraded. For the price it was pretty good. I'd stay there again later on to see the upgrades.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
What a nice review. You're correct- we are continuously upgrading. We look forward to seeing you again. Pamela Solarek GM

"Missed the Mark"

3
24/10/2016

The redeeming quality of this hotel was its staff; friendly and attentive. The check-in process was seamless and the room was comfortably sized. The breakfast was better than many offerings at other hotels we'd stayed at. Were liked that they'd replaced the wall to wall carpeting with what appeared to be composite flooring; until that night. There was an area rug between the beds that wasn't secured to the flooring and readily became a trip hazard in the dark. It shifted, bunched up and the edges would flip up. I opened the folding luggage stand and a large false eyelash fell out of it; which was actually kind of humorous, because we first thought it was an insect. For all the effort put into upgrading the rooms, the bathroom was a major disappointment. The toilet was slow to flush and would sometimes fail to fully drain on the first flush. The shower had very low water pressure, and loss of hot water was prevalent. Our experience was exasperated by someone calling himself Lucas telephoning our room twice in the early morning to discuss the party we'd had the night before. There was no party and although I told him he'd called the wrong room, he persisted until I hung up on him. I called the front desk to report the calls and to ask if there was any way to identify if the calls were coming from inside the hotel. The woman said there wasn't, so I thanked her and went to take my cold water shower. I came out of the shower and learned we'd received another call which my wife answered. This time the caller asked "Is this Joe?"; to which my wife replied "Do I sound like Joe?" Not to be deterred, the caller said he needed to pick up the guitar he'd left the night before. My wife told him if he showed up at our room he was in for a bad day, and then hung up. I called the front desk and a male employee answered. I started to explain the situation and he said the call had come through the front desk, and that he wouldn't forward anymore of the calls. On the whole, I believe the next time we are in Greenville we will opt for a different hotel.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your review. We have learned at the end of the search for the missing guitar that the fellow was calling the WRONG HOTEL all along. Was never a guest here so feel assured- ours is not the party hotel. We watch closely for any disturbance. We truly apologize for those calls to your room. What our clerk did to solve it was placed a do not disturb block on your phone so no further calls could come in- once you reported it to us. No- for an outside call, we cannot determine where in the world it came from. There was no call to your room from inside the hotel. Regarding our renovation, we've re-invested about 2 million dollars into the hotel in the past 2 years. We are not finished and are always improving. I received my first shipment of new sunbeam 8 settings showerheads and we've began that installation this week. You will be surprised if you return to us that we will continue more and more improvements. We are blessed with an owner who really cares about his customers. Pamela Solarek GM

Even though it's off a busy street and kind of tricky to get into coming off the highway, this BW is clean and a convenient 10 minute ride to downtown. Didnt have the chance to try out the breakfast, but it looked like a decent spread. Room was clean and quiet

"Nice place "

19/10/2016

This was a very nice hotel. I was checked in by a desk clerk that said due to me paying with a hotel coupon that I would have to pay 5$ extra dollars to get a downstairs room, but checked my business associate in with the same coupon and was given a downstairs room at no extra charge. We were told that the motel was having part of the parking lot paved the next morning and our cars would be towed to a different area of parking lot if we were to park there. At 8am on Wednesday my room phone rang woke me up, front desk asking me to give them all my information for check in over again. Seems as though there system had kicked out the info. Why would you disturb someone with your system failure when you know they will come down to checkout or call the front desk to check out. Never again will I or my company use this hotel.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I spoke to you by phone. I also checked video after our call. Your room was paid, we had no reason to call your room and my clerk did not. I ended our conversation when you used nasty words, I'm sorry but I found that unacceptable. I apologize for the hotel improvements that took place during your stay. Yes- we announced 24 hours in advance which part of the parking lot needed evacuation and by what time and that we would be forced to move the car with a tow truck if it did not move. Sadly, these improvements must be made and when a hotel is as busy as ours, there's just not a better time to do it. We are working very hard on the hotel overall. Pamela Solarek GM

"Enjoyed our stay"

16/10/2016

We were not expecting to stay at any hotel this trip but unforeseen circumstances happened. We were quite pleased with the hardwood floors and the overall cleanliness of the establishment. We had our dog with us this time and had a room at the back of the hotel near the dog park. We had a hot continental breakfast and what I noticed in reading the reviews was you are truly taking some of the suggestions and incorporating them in your business.Such as meat on the breakfast bar and I believe I saw toppings for the oatmeal. In speaking to some of your employees it is evident they take pride in their work and the hotel as a whole .You are very fortunate to have found such wonderful people. When we are in the area again we will not hesitate to come and stay again .

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
What a nice review! Thank you so much. It makes me feel good to see our hard work noticed by our valued guests. We look forward to seeing you again and again and we will continue to improve the hotel. Pamela Solarek GM

07/10/2016

I wasn't thrilled to find there was no comforter on the bed but when I called and asked for additional blankets - they came right away. That's not usually the case. Breakfast was good. Was surprised to find hot breakfast in a Best Western. Staff were most accommodating. I will go back.

There was a mix-up with the reservation. The room smelled like a public bathroom. There was blood on one of the pillow cases. The fridge made a clicking noise all night long. The tv volume kept going in and out. The bathroom was dirty and the bathroom tile was damaged.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Sylvie we have given some discount and apology through email to you. We looked and saw a small stain but do not believe there was blood on the bed. We take cleaning very seriously. We have checked the other items you've mentioned and are very sorry for the problem. Pamela Solarek GM

"Wow- I was impressed!"

03/10/2016

Yep, I liked it. The rooms have new furniture. The breakfast was excellent. I had waffles, eggs and sausage. Eggs scrambled fresh. I got a call back to ask if my room was OK at check in and that was nice too. Thanks Best Western. I'll see you next time. A+

Clean room . The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The weekend staff in the breakfast area was nice. There was a new employee she was very nice and helpful the woman that was training her was rude,to her and to people getting there breakfast. I am sure she did not like her job. The pool was nice . To bad it closed so early.

Thanks for letting us know about your experience. I will pay attention to the breakfast attendant and will let her know how you felt. We do close the pool at 9pm due to the proximity to the guest rooms and try to have quiet time after 9. We hope to see you again and impress you. Pamela Solarek GM

30/09/2016

The Best Western is a nice hotel for a short stay when traveling with a pet. The rooms have been renovated and are well equipped with microwaves and refrigerators. The beds are comfortable and the area is quiet and safe. The free breakfast is nothing exceptional and the coffee is mild but it is adequate.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your nice review. We would love to know what would make us score a 5 with you instead of a 3? We've added a nice hot breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs and sausages. What more would you like to see? We are interested in learning more. Sincerely, Pamela Solarek GM

"MOLD"

2
28/09/2016

I didn't have high expectation for the Best Western but I didn't expect mold in the room either. Good location off the interstate but it seems the other side of the exit has all the fun. The only thing close the this hotel was a waffle house, and for a reason: their breakfast.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm so sorry that you had mold in your bathroom. Typically our bathrooms are squeaky clean. Hopefully you called our desk for help. If you did, you found us quick to respond to the problem. We are closest to the interstate of all the hotels. There's the Waffle House but there's also Coronas. Skinz Hotdogs, Rendezvouz bar and grill and Burger King next door. Across the bridge you'll find another 20-30 restaurants. There's a lot of selection for food nearby. Thanks again. Pamela Solarek GM

"I would go back"

Was in Greenville overnight this week and stayed at Best Western near the airport. The hotel is older exterior type so I was nervous going in. When I got to the front desk I found it totally remodeled and nice. Staff were nice. Got to the room and I was really surprised. Looked like a Hampton room- really. Don't let the old outside look fool you. This was a good hotel.

"Love it!!!!!"

I have stayed here several times. It is up to date, very clean and reasonably priced. They have a nice pool and courtyard and a fitness room. The staff has always been professional and very friendly. If you have the opportunity give it a try.

"Not my cup of tea but QUIET safe, and renovated"

26/09/2016

I got a cheap trip for business reasons. This is a design with doors open to the outside. However, it's so popular with bargain hunters that the high occupancy made it a safer environment. The room, which was very large renovated, and clean, was very quiet, not like most modern hotels. I would consider this hotel if it was only for one night but not an extended stay.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi there- when you say, 'Not your cup of tea' I'm guessing that you leak you don't like the exterior doors. I appreciate the other comments. We've worked really hard on the hotel with a full renovation and you're right. It's a safe hotel. Thanks for taking the time to review. Pamela Solarek GM

"busy hotel"

22/09/2016

hotel has large parking area and lots of rooms and I hope the other rooms are in better shape than the one I had. Drywall damage in bathroom and hair in shower makes for poor cleaning and lacking maintenance. bed was comfortable but the pillows were not. If you just need a place to sleep and dont mind the hair this place is fine. Did not eat breakfast here and the internet was spotty. Not much choice for food close by but waffle house in same lot. Good luck

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Wow- I'm sorry to hear you had so many problems! This is very unusual. Did you call our desk for help? Hopefully you did because you would see how quickly we would come to help. "Go ahead and book this one!"

21/09/2016

Usually, it's hard to go wrong with a Best Western, but this one was a nice surprise. The hotel staff was very friendly, and there was a manager's reception in the dining area that consisted of chips/salsa, cheese/crackers, and a selection of beer for free. The hotel has an upscale homey feel, nothing out of this world contemporary or fancy. The rooms expand on this feel, with furnishings I would expect to find in my favorite relative's guest room. The rooms have ceiling fans and overhead lighting, a pleasant minor detail that you don't find in a lot of rooms. The beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the HVAC is more than adequate. For a hotel right off of the interstate, noise was non-existent. The bathrooms are brightly lit and clean. If you're looking to stay in Greenville, you won't go wrong here.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I appreciate the review but it must not be our hotel. We don't offer a managers reception. You may be thinking of another place? Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

Usually in a hotel breakfast if you see something running out you are just out of luck but these ladies were right on top of it. I wanted an apple and an apple did appear. It was honestly a real nice breakfast with sausage eggs and biscuits and gravy. So many choices. I've paid for breakfasts less appealing than this one for sure. It's worth it. Give it a try.

It was a pleasant stay. The people there are nice as can be. Very southern charming. Breakfast lady helped me with my waffle. I had a light bulb out- they came right away to resolve it. I would stray here again for sure. Rate was ok, Room was nicely furnished and the flooring was very modern looking and clean.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy we were able to solve the light bulb and that you enjoyed the breakfast. Please come again. Pamela Solarek GM

Exterior property ok. It's going to have outside aging. The upkeep on this property and shine above and beyond other hotels in this area. I have spent the at the Marriott next door and thought to myself wow you can tell they are all about the money and not customer service. Where as in at the Best Western the clerk took the time to tell me important information about the area even offering a map and Greenville guide at the desk without having to ask. What other hotel in Greenville offers that? None! Why? Don't believe me? Book 1 Stay at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn and see for yourself. Have a voice let it be heard. Management is standing at the desk every morning greeting everyone with pleasant smile along with morning staff. There's never a problem she's not willing to address. Free full breakfast and staff willing to assist in any way they can. Can you pay 200.00 and get that at the Marriott? NO!

Thanks for the review. We like to think we are a good value. Pamela Solarek GM

We were in Greenville for an event and decided to stay the night instead of driving home. We were very pleased with the helpfulness of the staff at such a late hour, the clean, comfy room and bed. We would stay there again.

Clean room, polite staff, good breakfast. Good accessibility to the surrounding area. The grounds and parking areas were a little dirty and not kept up regularly. Pet area was a nice feature but it needed to be mowed, as it would help clean up after pets.

Some reviews made me wonder but this was a great choice. Those desk clerks were great. The eggs and sausages and dozens of other things at breakfast will certainly bring me back. The rooms look brand new. Really.

Thanks so much for writing the review. A lot of people like the new fresh scrambled eggs. We are happy to please. Do come back soon! Pamela Solarek GM

I was lucky to get a great deal using priceline. I would NEVER pay full rack rate at this property. It's really not a good value. The staff is friendly, however housekeeping leaves much to be desired. When I checked in, there was dirty underwear and socks from a previous guest beside the bed. The rooms appear to be nicely remodeled, they just aren't clean. During the remodel, the property should have focused more on the exterior of the building. It is an eye sore and needs much improvement! Unless I get another bid accepted on priceline, I will not be back. Do yourself a favor and skip this one!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hello, I'm sorry you found something left behind in the room. Typically we get great remarks regarding our clean rooms. We do have a new and training inspector. I will share your remarks with housekeeping. You should never find an item left behind in a room. Did you call and let our desk know? Our building is an older exterior. I'm sorry you feel it is an eyesore. We do very well with upkeep and maintenance of the building. We've fully renovated the rooms and continue to improve. We cannot change the type of structure though. I'm sorry. Pamela Solarek GM

As others have said, the outside is a bit deceiving. Lobby and staff were very nice. Breakfast was okay; there is variety and hot choices but nothing great. The room was nicely remodeled and updated. It was clean, and worth the value. Very convenient lots of restaurants in the area and close to the airport.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. Would you give us a call and let us know what would have made the breakfast better? We have really been working on breakfast and are now offering starting this week fresh scrambled eggs- not the egg patty's that were here last week with the sausages and biscuits, gravy, oatmeal etc. Let us know if this sounds better? We hope to see you again. Pamela Solarek GM

When we drove in I was feeling like it might be sketchy but once you walk in this place- it is nothing short of fantastic! Everything new top to bottom. Staff nice and hot breakfast excellent. The hotel rooms open to the outside but really- don't let that stop you. Its a great location.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Melina- Thanks, that's actually the way I felt 9 years ago when I drove in to the hotel for the first time. I can tell you in my 9 years here- everything top to bottom has been made new inside the rooms and breakfast/ lobby. I'm quite proud of my owners. Pamela Solarek GM

The staff was wonderful. They shuttled me to a very early flight; my car was safe during my trip; and worked with me when my return flight was delayed. This hotel is outdated and dirty. The beds are horrible and the room was hot. We only stayed because it was 4 am and we couldn't drive any further and we have beat western points. Major disappointment. However the front desk lady was amazing and helped me find a parking area near the road due to a full lot.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I am so sorry you felt our hotel was outdated and dirty. The building itself was built in 1985. There's not a lot we can do to change it being an exterior corridor. We have however renovated every room with nice new furniture, hardwood style floors, pillowtop beds and I hope you were able to enjoy our new hot breakfast. If you would kindly call and let me know what room and date it was, I would like to follow up the dirty issue if there was a problem in the room. We are very serious about offering a clean room with everything working inside. Thanks, Pamela Solarek GM

The rooms have laminate flooring - no carpet, which gives a much cleaner feel to the rooms. Refillable shampoo and body wash pumps attached to wall make sense. Hot breakfast included with scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage etc. Tea, coffee, juice, cereal, milk - the usual fare. Outdoor pool was nice. If planning to use the pool, room facing pool on first floor works well.

We had our "other" family member, a Pug, and were camping during a heat wave (105*). He was NOT a happy camper. As a female traveling alone, I am somewhat hesitant to stay in a hotel with exterior doors, however I wanted to check out the Best Western as the reviews were good and the price is affordable. I travel to the airport area the night before early flights and was impressed with the new lobby and renovated rooms at this property. I noticed that there seem to be a number of people outside in the pool/courtyard area, but everyone was friendly and not at all intrusive. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. I was given a room on the pool side, near the lobby door, which made me feel safe. In the morning, the dining room was serving breakfast prior to the posted 6:00am time, I assume to accommodate the construction or electric workers gathering for their day. I thought this was wonderful and welcoming. The breakfast selection was good and I had a small bite before leaving for the airport. I will definitely consider this location the next time I have to travel from GSP early in the morning.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your kind review. It was very observant of you to notice we are opening our breakfast a little early to accomodate our early risers. We also leave breakfast up a little late when needed also. Our hotel is very busy and the pool area is well used. I really appreciate your remarks. Come see us again. Pamela Solarek GM

You could throw a stone from this hotel to the interstate on-ramp, which is convenient. The amenities were everything I expected, the hardwood floors a nice touch, if not as cozy. This is a big place, apparently designed for long-haul truckers (I suspect that's why no carpeting) and it's busy. The front desk is along a side hallway making it awkward to handle a high volume of customers: you have to wait in the foyer and take your turn at the desk. The desk itself is scattered with papers like they're too harrassed to file anything. I didn't try going down to breakfast - the eating area had long counters with high, hard chairs obviously designed for large crowds to eat & leave - I didn't feel like facing the diner atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the stay was fine and I'll probably stay here again if I'm in Greenville, but it didn't have the same serenity I've come to expect from other BW properties.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. We have high chairs at one community table and very low chairs at smaller tables in our breakfast room. The area is quite large, when you return we hope you will give breakfast a try. You may have came to our desk during the process of changing the day. Papers are abundant during that time as we take out the exiting guests and update todays guests in our 'bucket'. I have mentioned to my clerks this can look offensive to a guest and we are trying to do better. The hardwood style flooring actually started out as a 10 room trial for pet rooms in the back. Once we did them- we realized just how much more clean those floors were. Even tho the cost of carpet was 1/3 the cost of these floors, our terrific owner spent the money and we put these great floors in all rooms. You will see this is becoming a trend in more and more hotels now. Pamela Solarek GM

Photos on the website looks nicer but the hotel in person is a disappointment. The room is clean overall. Railings on the 2nd floor are flimsy and unsafe. Feels unsafe walking around the hotel grounds. I should have pay the $5-10 extra per night to get a better hotel.

I stayed at this property 2 years ago, and our family of 4 stayed again this week. It provides a cost effective accommodation whether traveling as an individual or family. The pool was busy with families enjoying a refreshing break from the day. The breakfast provided the essentials you would expect from a budget hotel. If you don't like what's on the menu, then go to the restaurant next door. If you don't like the hotel room offerings then you have other hotel choices just around the corner. The staff was friendly and the check in and check out was easy. It's located near a busy shopping area, conveniently located just off the interstate.

09/07/2016

It's Saturday night, 10:30. While I was checking in, my husband watched a drug deal in the parking lot. There are people hanging out drinking and smoking all over the parking lot and along the outside rooms. There are two men and a hooker in the corner room. I see the GM has responded to other posts stating the reviewers must have been at the wrong hotel. Nope. They were definitely here with the smoky, stinky rooms with wood floors on Pelham Road in Greenville. I would suggest that along with the room renovations, they need to hire security and stop the loitering.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hello Jaime, I do try to respond to all reviews. When I am reading yours, I can tell you that the guys you are seeing all standing around together are likely construction workers or guys we are housing from a trucking school. Greenville has a lot of construction projects going now. Please know there is no need to fear these hard working people who are just bored I guess while they wait for Monday. We can try harder with security but we do have someone there up to midnight. He would not tell those guests to leave tho, they are guests of the hotel. You stated you saw someone with a hooker? I hope that you called the front desk to investigate. I would hate to think that you felt a girl was a hooker just because she was out with her boyfriend or husband when you saw the other workers outside. I am sorry you were bothered by those guests getting together outside. We will see what we can do to ask them to hang out in the picnic area instead. Thanks for letting me know how you felt. We do listen. Pamela Solarek GM

"My recent stay at Best Western - Greenville, SC"

28/06/2016

I was already at another hotel and needed to find a property along my route of travel (I-85) that would put me in close proximity to home. This Best Western property was chosen because of location and the affordable rate offered. Arriving, I noticed that the access was immediately to the outside as opposed a hallway. The facility appeared to need exterior care (could use sweeping along the stairwell, room furniture propped up along the wall instead of stored). All things considered the room was comfortable, it was quiet and everything was working properly. The morning clerks at the front desk were not as cordial as those I've experienced at other Best Western properties.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hello, thanks for taking the time to review us. I'm sorry if our staff were not cordial. Please call and tell me what day and time this took place as I would like to watch and listen to the video and use it for training if that happened. We are very serious about being nice to the guests. If you saw furniture propped up beside a room it was temporary to do a full PM cleaning. Our good PM program is how our rooms stay so clean. Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

We stayed 3 nights. Really nice rooms. Great Breakfast with a big selection of foods. We enjoyed our stay. We were there for a get together called the Traveling picnic. We at a park close by. Then on two of the evenings we gathered by the pool to visit and to swim.

"Not for large vehicles!"

3
18/06/2016

Nice and clean but NO particular parking if you are towing a vehicle. We were in a pickup, pulling a small trailer. We parked across 3 spaces, on the outside edge of the parking lot away from the building and got a call from the front desk about an hour later (midnight!), telling us we needed to move (though the place was mostly vacant). We had to park along the curb quite a distance away from our room, near the street. We were concerned about many of the things that we had on our open trailer. The only other option suggested was parking in a lot way in the back away from the building. The hotel is also advertised as pet friendly and on bringfido.com it said $20 per night per room. Upon arrival we were told that it was $20 per pet! Since we were traveling with two dogs we were not very happy with this but given the hour we just paid the fee. Despite being pet-friendly there were signs everywhere saying "Do not walk your dog here". We never were able to find where dogs were "authorized" to do their business. Rate advertised on their website was $110 per night. We got a discount booking through TripAdvisor and AAA. This was fortunate as this was definitely not a $110 per night place! Breakfast was the same as any other mid-priced Hotel chain (cereal, muffins, waffles) but also included eggs and sausage. Breakfast room was rather small but kept quite clean. Since we normally travel with a large vehicle we will likely not stay here again due to the parking restrictions and the pet policy.

"Smoking Rooms"

5
17/06/2016

One of the few hotels that still offer smoking rooms, and it was very clean and did not smell of smoke. I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. Will for sure stay at this hotel next time we work in the area.

Thanks for your kind remarks. We have very few smoking rooms but we do try to keep them clean. Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

"Price vs Convenience"

3
16/06/2016

I stayed here because of price--very reasonable. But, due to traffic, it was not convenient to the downtown venue for my evening business meeting. Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was a bit noisy. Compressor on the refrigerator may have been going out. Finally unplugged it and room was quieter. Continental breakfast was well stocked.

"30 min too much"

1
16/06/2016

Funny smell in lobby. Rooms do not have an inviting feeling. Motel area very unsettling & did not feel safe. Had pool view while four men had at least 35 beer cans empty and 2 coolers full. People hanging out everywhere, very creepy in the way they stare and follow others around, even staff. Felt SHADY! My family asked to leave within the hour and I gladly paid the check out early fee. 4 days turned into 1 hour!! DO NOT STAY. I've been to several Best Westerns and never had this experience.

"Good enough"

3
15/06/2016

We had a room with two double beds. The sweet woman at the front desk recommended the second floor to avoid overhead noise. We appreciated the suggestion. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Good pillows, but brought our own. Pretty quiet most of the time. Seemed to be an equal mix of travelers and construction workers. The crowd that was out after dark was a bit sketchy but kept to themselves. Most didn't speak English as a primary language. Staff was friendly. Cable was fuzzy on a lot of the channels. The waffle house in across the parking lot was horrible.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. We do have a good bit of construction going nearby so I'm sure you likely saw some workers there talking together. Don't worry, they're harmless. Just passing time after work most likely with co-workers. In my opinion, our waffles are better than waffle house plus they're FREE- Try our breakfast next time. We also serve hot sausage and eggs 7-9 too. Thanks again for taking the time to review us. I hope during your next visit we treat you so nicely that you'll want to give us a 5 score. Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

"It is a place to Stay"

3
06/06/2016

Read all the reviews here on Trip advisor and decided to give this place a shot. It is a no frills Best Western. The room was clean, but the picture makes the room look MUCH nicer than it is. The floors are hardwood looking laminate. I thought this was odd, but looked very nice in the picture, then I realized that they are done this way as it is easier to clean than carpet. Makes the room very echoey. The TV remote did not work, and the in room safe was falling out of the wall. The bed was comfortable I did rest well. But by having a room facing the outdoor pool you cant get to sleep until after the pool closes at 9pm. There were as many people outside their rooms as their was inside their rooms. The area of town is not the most Glamorous, and the WAFFLE HOUSE in the hotel parking lot makes it even less appealing. It appeared there were many people actually living there more than just staying the night. The morning Breakfast was above average having hot food (grits, sausage, eggs) in addition to just the waffle and cereal. As my title says, it is a cheap place to stay however I will probably stay elsewhere next time.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Targo0419- I'm sorry you left us unimpressed. I hope that you called our front desk who would've jumped into action to resolve your non working remote and took a look at the safe. If not- could you call and let me know what room that was so I can make sure it was solved? We are a standard Best Western. Best Western now has Plus and Premier levels also. we do offer an upgraded hot breakfast which is not common for standard Best Westerns. Hopefully you enjoyed that. From the tone of your message, you are looking for something more. At our hotel we've just completed a 1.5 million dollar renovation so we are definitely hoping for better than 'It's a place to stay' so I do appreciate your comments. we are always trying to improve. I'm sorry that you were wanting to go to sleep before 9pm when we close the pool. It's really just about as early as we could close that amenity. It is summer. Kids want to swim. You could ask for a parking lot facing room next time so as not to be bothered. If you are looking for a Plus property, I would recommend Best Western Plus Piedmont next time. they're a small upgrade from us. Pricing may be a little higher as well but you would not have the swimming pool to contend with there. I hope this helps. Pamela Solarek GM

Uncaring hotel staff unresponsive to your needs. I have stayed at this property 3 different times over the last year and each stay presented a new set of issues/problems. I like Best Western and stay there when I can. I made a mistake this last time, won't happen again...I promise.

"Newly Renovated"

28/05/2016

Best Western is our go to hotel. This one has been renovated and they did a great job. Beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean and thank you, thank you for getting rid of carpeting. I think almost everyone hates carpet in a hotel room because they always look dirty or stained. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was fine. Coffee was good. The pool was sparkling clean. The price was right. We only had to drive a few miles to get to downtown Greenville. Actually, we were glad to get out of the traffic downtown and back to the hotel for peace and quiet. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was excellent - super clean and so convenient to the GSP airport. Willy at the front desk was most accommodating and aswered all our questions. The ladies in the breakfast room - Miss Vicky and Miss Georgia could not have been more attentive and helpful. 4
19/05/2016

Exceeded expectations because I normally have a poor view of low cost and outside entrance places. Not normally someplace I would stay, but I needed someplace in a pinch that took corporate lodging which my company requires. Website said newly renovated and the pics looked good so I went for it. Sitting right next to 85 it is convenient to many places. From the outside it looks like a typical motel, nothing special. When I checked in they said I would have a room with an inside corridor, was not sure what that mean. It mean a room facing inside and with a view of the pool..This was a nice surprise because the alternative was a room facing outside and probably highway 85. Rooms were nice with hardwood floors, all new furniture and comfortable beds. Room also had a microwave and refrigerator. Even the cable was better than expected. Most hotels cable is pretty basic, but here you get 8 or 9 HBO channels plus many others you would not expect. The internet was slightly better than average but not great. Breakfast too was your typical free breakfast, nothing special. Service was good at the desk, no complaints. The area also has many restaurant choices although fighting traffic late in the afternoon can be a challenge. Overall better than expected and in a pinch I would stay there again.

"Comfortable, Reasonably Priced Hotel"

17/05/2016

I had a very early flight out of Greenville, so spent the night prior at the Best Western Greenville Airport Inn. The price was reasonable, the room comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. And very important, being a woman traveling alone, I felt safe.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for using our park and fly service. We hope you had a safe flight and return. Come see us again. Pamela Solarek GM

"Nice looking rooms!"

5
15/05/2016

I had a problem with the TV remote. Reggie came running to take care of it. I liked that kind of service. The rooms really surprise you. It's like Hampton Inn quality inside the room at a Best Western price I guess. All the people I came in contact with were friendly. The housekeepers don't speak a lot of English but they did understand a request I made which was good. Breakfast was also surprisingly good. Hotel has had a complete renovation looks like.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your remark about Reggie. He is a super nice guy. We hope to see you again along the way. Pamela Solarek GM

"Convenient, comfortable stopping point AND pet-friendly!"

5
14/05/2016

We were on our way down to Columbus, GA, and Greenville, SC was a logical stopping point. It's definitely an older property, but it was newly renovated, and the wood flooring gave it a very clean feeling. The room size was very comfortable, loved having the small refrigerator and microwave, and the location was quite convenient. I was very grateful for the reasonableness of their pet fees. I know my dogs, and they don't have long hair, nor do they make messes since they are older. I wouldn't bring them with me if I didn't know they would travel well, so the higher pet fees make no sense to me. Lots of places to eat nearby, and very convenient location. Staff did a good job keeping the breakfast area stocked. The only complaint I would have is that the coffee at breakfast was very weak!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your kind remarks. I'm glad you liked the hardwood style floors. We feel it is much cleaner and people have really loved it. Pamela Solarek GM

"Front Desk Clerks were very helpful"

5
13/05/2016

Upon arrival we were greeted with big smiles and all week while we were there- Just excellent service. Housekeepers really make the room shine. The pool water is still a little on the cool side for me but the pool area is very nice. They have a picnic area in the back. Very nice. There's even a grill if you choose to grill a burger. Loads of restaurants nearby. Manager was greeting at Breakfast with her assistant. Excellent service.

"Excellent place!"

06/05/2016

I was only here for one night, but everything was wonderful! From checking-in to the cleanness of the room, and breakfast was wonderful! Every employee was top notch that I dealt with. Any time I travel through Greenville, I will be staying here again!

"My new go to hotel in the area"

5
29/04/2016

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The rooms were clean and the décor was really nice. The hotel had a good breakfast and I thought the breakfast area looked very modern. Randy checked me in and was very polite and helpful. Our room was on the backside near the dog park which was a very nice bonus. We will definitely stay here the next time we come to Greenville.

"GREAT STAY."

29/04/2016

The hotel is so clean and covenant to everything. Close to the GSP airport , great shopping and great restaurants. Just 15 minutes from downtown. Where you will find a beautifully renovated city with even more great shops and restaurants. you will also find Falls Park. A lovely park with biking and walking trails. I was truly surprised at how nice it was. Then Kim at the front desk was so helpful and always had a smile to greet us with. I will be definitely stay here again.

"Another great stay"

5
28/04/2016

My husband and I have stayed at this Best Western several times over the last few years. We love all of the improvements. The floors will always be my favorite though. The staff is great, especially Randy and Helena whom we have had the pleasure of dealing with each trip. Our room has always been clean and well maintained. We have never had any major problems. The only issue we've dealt with was our TV not working and it was fixed quickly. The location is great and there are several places to eat across the bridge. I would definitely recommend this property. We look forward to our next visit.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review

You will not be disappointed with this Best Western. The price, the efficiency of the staff and the comfort of the motel, as well as, the location will meet your high expectations. It is near many quality restaurants and excellent shopping. The interstate is right there making the city easily accessible.

"Not Up To BW Standards"

2
27/04/2016

I second the review that said it was not clean enough for them. Didn't like that A/C could not be run "fan on," for noise and circulation. First floor noisy and at the end of the building, there seemed to be a bit of a "smoking hang out." Morning one person front desk was frazzled & not particularly friendly. Breakfast staff was "ready to shut it down," as soon as she could. Even though we got there in plenty of time, all the waffle mixture had been taken away (or gone.) I came home with biting sensation on skin and many angry red spots on arms & legs. Very itchy and painful for several days. "Not say-in', but just say-in'." Maybe it would have been better to have the "clorox" smell (as one visitor said) rather than bug bites?

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I believe you rented the room during a time when we had a system error and we had maintenance helping us to clean rooms that were marked wrong in the system We apologize for the problem and assure you while the beds for those particular 5-6 rooms were not made perfectly like our terrific housekeepers do, they were most definitely clean. We are not perfect. We are adjusting to a new operating system and that problem should not reoccur. Pamela Solarek GM

"Don't stay here"

2
26/04/2016

Had problems with first room, finally moved to another room. More problems but a surly tech fixed them, Loud parking lot party that no one handled till 10:00 PM. The staff did nothing to make you feel welcome.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I would like to hear more about your problem. Please contact me and let me know what you mean by 'surly tech' and that my staff did nothing to make you feel welcome. It will be helpful to know the other conditions. Was it a busy check in time or empty desk? What problems occurred in the first room? Did you report noise? How long before the problem was handled was problem reported? These are all pieces of information needed to follow up with my staff. Thank you in advance. Pamela Solarek GM

"Not what i espected"

24/04/2016

Just stayed for one night , when i got in to the room i had a strong clorox smell that was very uncomfortable , i cant remember what i paid for the stay but I'm pretty sure it was not worth the price !! Got some work to do around the place !! Parking lot was a little crowded but manage to park the 3 or 4 times i went out !

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Alberto- Did you call our front desk and ask if they could change the room? I'm sorry you smelled a strong Clorox smell. The girls are not supposed to use Clorox in the rooms but they do sometimes rinse their mops in a Clorox solution. I will make sure the head housekeeper knows to slow them down with that and I really appreciate you letting me know. You are right- we are a very busy hotel, we feel due to our total renovation and nice staff. We hope you will try us again in the future. Take care. Pamela Solarek GM

"Super comfy beds, room not clean enough for me"

2
20/04/2016

We were only in town for one night, and it fit our budget.....all of the hotels in the area had raised their rates for the weekend because of a concert. I was immediately put off by the smell in the lobby bathroom; reminded me of a porta-potty. We booked two rooms; Our reservations were messed up, and they only had one room for six of us. The staff, however quickly rectified this. Five stars for them! The rooms seemed fine, but my eagle eyes quickly noticed that there was a layer of dust and grime on the dresser around the mini fridge and microwave, and on the baseboards. The beds were super comfy, but I was awakened at 6 am by the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke coming from the adjoining room.....strange, these were all non smoking rooms.......I am also a smoker, but never smoke inside......so if it was able to wake me up? Won't stay again

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Mama Jules- I'm happy my staff got a 5 stars from you regarding effort to solve your problem. I'm sorry you were unhappy with the cleaning of the room. I will bring this up in our housekeeping huddle. With exterior rooms and cleaner hardwood style flooring- We have noticed the rooms do get dusty a little easier than before. It is so much better than the nasty carpet you find in most hotels though, would you agree? I'm terribly sorry someone smoked outside near your room. It is hard for us to control something like that but if you will call our desk- we will certainly ask them to relocate where they're standing while smoking. Happy travels, Pamela Solarek GM

"Best Western Greenville"

18/04/2016

I was impressed with the recent renovation to this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the laminate flooring was nice. The water pressure seemed a little low, and the heater seemed to struggle to keep the room warm (managed to visit during an unusual cold spell), but neither issue was worth complaining about. In all, I'd stay here again. Stayed April 2016, traveled solo

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the kind words. I'm sorry you had a problem with water pressure. If you could let me know what room you were in we could go check the shower head. Maybe you told them at check out and the problem has been resolved. Thanks again and we hope to see you again soon. Pamela Solarek GM

"Very nice hotel"

4
12/04/2016

Brief but very pleasant stay; good location. Rooms were spacious. There was a good selection of restaurants nearby. The breakfast was better than some others. It was a very convenient location for the airport. The shuttle took us to the airport with no problem, and dropped us off exactly where we needed to be.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed our new breakfast and the shuttle service. We hope to see you again along the way. Pamela Solarek GM

"Me time "

03/04/2016

I was impressed with the upgrades to this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the laminate flooring was a nice touch. The only issues: (they were not major issues and certainly didn't warrant a complaint) the toilet handle was a little loose and the water pressure in the shower wasn't quite up to what I prefer. Neither were deal breakers at all. The toilet flushed and I could still shower. :)The staff was friendly and allowed me to check in my room an hour prior to check-in time. Considering the location (close to the airport and on a high traffic road) it was relatively quiet. It isn't a 4-star hotel but for the comfort, convenience, and price it was perfect for what I wanted; a couple of days of quiet, relaxation. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Please let us know what the room number was so we can take a look at the shower and toilet? Hopefully you told them at check out. Come see us again soon! Pamela Solarek GM

"Very Clean"

31/03/2016

My husband likes to stay at Best Western whenever we travel because of their point system. The room looks like it has been recently renovated. Instead of carpet there are laminate floors. Very nice and clean. The location was good for my husband's meeting. It is not far from the airport off I-85. My only complaint is the noise. The airport traffic is over the hotel and there is a fire department across the street.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. Typically we hear very little noise from the fire department and I've really never had much complaint about airplanes. We do see them coming for a landing overhead but there's very little noise. Thank you for the compliments regarding our recent renovation. We hope to see you again soon. Pamela Solarek GM

"Appropriate, Clean-n-Basic."

3
22/03/2016

Room is clean-n-basic with a laminated wood floor in a simple no-frills way. Despite the relatively low price, bedroom is equipped with a microwave oven, small refrigerator, and a 40" LCD TV with cable and remote-control. Beds are clean and comfortable. I woke up rested every day during our 4 day stay. Shower-head is inferior and should be replaced with a head providing a concentrated spray-pattern with more water volume. Not a deal breaker. Liquid bath-soap and shampoo are available through a shower wall-mounted dispenser. It's convenient. Vent in bathroom amplifies conversations in adjacent room's bath. Caution, if you don't want strangers knowing your incriminating secrets, be careful what you say in your bath. Swimming-pool is clean, pleasant, and attractive. Courtyard garden is a relaxing addition to the inn's property. A 24hr Waffle House shares the inn's parking lot so food is available 'round the clock. Parking is sufficient, but slots fill up quickly at night. Wi-Fi is available so bring your devices. I would return. Thanks, Best Western!

"Nice rooms but noisy"

3
16/03/2016

This Best Western is very convenient to I 85 with many eating establishments nearby. The room was recently remodeled and was very convenient. The hotel has 4 buildings facing one another with a pool in the center of the quad. Regrettably, my room faced the pool and was very noisy until midnight. If you want a quiet room, I suggest the outside. The breakfast was meager at best. Go to the Waffle House next door.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us and for the nice remark about our remodeled rooms. If you have a problem with noisy people, please call our desk to resolve. We are very proactive with problems. We are now serving a continental breakfast 6am-9am and a new hot breakfast 7am-9am. I'm sorry you had a problem with noisy people. Sometimes if a young ball team is there it is hard to keep them quiet when they come in from an event. Just dial 0 and we will address a problem. Pamela Solarek GM

"Traumatizing"

1
15/03/2016

The experience was more motel or YMCA-like than a hotel. It was an overall very stingy vibe, from the 1 tiny bar soap to the sad continental breakfast. The room fridge froze the raw veggies I had carefully prepared, and guess what else was in there to be ruined? My insulin for type 1 diabetes that I need to survive. Check out time was supposedly 11:00am but at 10:20 a housekeeper appeared at the door saying “let's go! Let's go!” So we rushed, and my teen daughter started acting out because she hates to be rushed. Stress! At check out, the bill appeared to be wrong after we paid and we had to get back in line, and I was grumbling to my husband about how I had a feeling we'd get screwed considering what happened so far. The agent at the desk overheard and loudly chastised me, one because I'd misunderstood the charges (the bill was correct), and two because he was “offended.” And even though I said I was sorry 3 times, he still implied I was a “miserable person” while we left and my back was turned. Great. Just great. On my 38th birthday too. Lots of tears shed. As the family breadwinner, I will not be spending my hard earned money here or probably any Best Western in the future.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Missus-JP- From the things you are describing it looks like you have the wrong hotel to review. We have not had any problem like this. Our housekeepers have been with us a long time. I have a hard time to believe they would say lets go lets go to anyone- before or even after checkout time. They always leave it to management to handle any late issues. I have not heard the first thing about this problem so I really believe the review is meant for another hotel. If you will contact me with date and time of the front desk incident you describe- I can watch and listen to the video as everything there is recorded. Thanks- Pamela Solarek GM

"Great Choice"

11/03/2016

I love Best Western. Great value, service, location and staff. BW is always my first choice. I especially like that I can park my car there while I'm out of town and take the shuttle for free! All around best choice for hotel stay!

"One Night Stay"

4
07/03/2016

It was great for a one night stay. Great prices for a getaway for Volley Ball tournament for my daughter. Simple to find and close to where she was playing. Nice location, very clean stay, Beds were smaller than an usual double bed but we made due. Next time would ask for 2 Queen beds. Several restaurants to take advantage of nearby and very short distance from the PAVILLION where my daughter was playing in a volleyball tournament. Very reasonable and nice for what we needed. We would stay there again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks so much for your kind review. I saw the girls while here. I hope you had good success in the tournament. Please try us again when in town. Pamela Solarek GM

"Great Motel"

5
06/03/2016

From check-in to check-out, we were treated very well by the friendly staff. The location was very convenient to restaurants and the highway. The only reason I gave sleep quality a "very good" is that we are not use to the fan in the room coming on and off all night. It is nothing against the quality of the hotel. We would stay at Best Western Greenville Airport Inn if we are in the area again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the kind review. We do have an AUTO setting on the heating and cooling unit which will keep the fan set to on. Please let us know to assist you with that on a return visit. We appreciate your taking the time to review us. Pamela Solarek GM

"Good Value"

4
02/03/2016

This motel is conveniently located near the freeway and nearby restaurants. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent. We did not sample the breakfast. Overall, a good value for the money. I would stay there again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Kurt- thanks for that great review. We are having a water pressure problem just when the washing machine in the laundry starts up. That is likely what you experienced. We are working to resolve it. Thank you so much for your kind review in spite of the shower problem. Pamela Solarek GM

"Great location, New furniture, Great bed, bad shower pressure!"

4
01/03/2016

If the shower pressure would have been even adequate I would have rated it a 5, but because the shower pressure wasn't strong enough to even get the soap off my body I gave it a 4. The room was great and newly renovated, the bed was excellent, and staff were great! I didn't get to have breakfast, but I believe they had grits, sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, and juice. When checking out I told them about the shower head and she said if I would have let them know they would have changed it out for me, but I was working 12 hr shifts so I probably wouldn't have wanted them in my room any way, but at least she wrote the room number down and was going to have them check it out. I do beleive they care about your experience and try to make it great for you.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Kurt- I tried to look you up and I don't see a Kurt M in my system. Could you let me know what room you were in? I'd like to look into the showerhead problem further. I hope you will try our new breakfast the next time in town. Thank you for taking this time to review us. Pamela Solarek GM

"DON'T EXPECT THIS HOTEL TO SPARKLE ..."

2
22/02/2016

This hotel is plagued by less than average staff and below average services. Although the location is desirable to Greenville, if you are looking for any kinda ruffles and flourishes from your lodging ... this is NOT the place to look. Poor Breakfast and a worse staff ... I advise select another. My wife have indicated we WILL NOT be staying at this property again.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I looked up Brian B from NY in my system and found the medallia survey. I still have really no idea what problem occurred and have not heard back from you when I asked to know what happened. Here was the email I sent you Brian in case you missed it somehow. Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property. Brian, I think you were trying to name me in your survey. My name is Pamela Solarek. I have looked back thru our shift emails and looked at your folio and it is not ringing a bell as to what the problem was. Could you please remind me? As far as our staff- We have not turned over a single member of our team in more than a year. I believe they are indeed happy. They work 12 hour shifts and have 3-4 days off each week which they consider their mini vacations. I never have absenteeism and we are all very proud of the hotel. We work for a terrific owner who has reinvested in the hotel. Just 4 days ago we started a new hot breakfast. In January we installed all new furniture to complete the renovation. If I said something to make you feel bad about me I truly apologize. I would need to be reminded of the specific incident to go into it any further. I hope to hear back from you. I have chosen this as my go-to motel when I visit family in Greenville. Close to the airport and lots of great restaurants!! Laura and Willie are great at their jobs. They make you feel welcome and remember your face. Love the room, heater, floors and bed all made me feel warm and cozy. I rested well knowing was at a clean and germ-free guestroom. Good breakfast if your an earlier riser. The pool area is so inviting, temperatures have yet to cooperate! I am looking forward to my next visit.

"Clean, Average 2 Star Hotel/Motel"

3
15/02/2016

For the price, I felt like the value was not great (for only $20 more I could've been in a 3-star "express" hotel) but overall it was clean enough and had the basic amenities. Issues with my room upon arrival (missing remote, broken telephone) were repaired quickly when I called the front desk. Lots of highway noise from my room - I ended up blasting the heat all night to for white noise but other than that it was not a big deal. As a solo traveler just needing a place to put my head down for the night (10 pm check in, 9 am check out), it was fine, but for more than a one night short stay, I would select a better hotel. I felt like the price was too high for the overall value.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm sorry you were not happy at the hotel. We are fully renovated for 2016. We are adding hot breakfast starting tomorrow to our already expanded continental style. We hope you will try us again as we are continually improving.

"Quick in & out"

4
12/02/2016

Hotel has great location, right off the interstate so very easy to find. Only stayed for one night so it was the perfect place for this trip. Check in & out was very simple, quick, and front desk agents were very friendly. Room was spacious but bathroom was a little small and outdated. The AC fan was a little loud but nothing I couldn't handle. Wifi was quick and all other amenities worked great.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your kind review. The building was constructed in 1985 and our full renovation completed January 2016. There's really nothing we can do to change the style of the bathroom. The tub and toilet are behind one door and the sink is outside that door like a lot of hotels built in this timeframe. Pamela Solarek GM

"Upgraded"

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a single day when visiting our daughter. Being close to the GSP airport we reached it in a short time. The room was neat and clean. I have no complaints.

My initial response to this hotel was of low expectations due to the unpleasant smell in the lobby area. However despite the unpleasant smells and rundown appearance of the outside area of the hotel my room was clean and well maintained and my stay was pleasant.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi there- I'm wondering what unpleasant smells you experienced in our lobby. We use very nice cleaning chemicals there and typically receive great remarks. Perhaps there was someone or something nearby you that is not ordinarily there. I just don't know. The hotel is an older exterior hotel. We are very well maintained. Everything inside your guest room is new for 2016 plus we have a brand new stylish lobby and breakfast room as well. I'm happy you enjoyed it. Pamela Solarek General Manager

Depending of the place of your room you will spend the night counting the trucks running out...and if you finish to sleep try to awake early because at 9am breakfast is finish ! Exept that the room is nice ...but the wifi very slow.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi there- I'm trying to figure out what you mean by trucks running out. Maybe something was happening the night you were here where some trucks were moving. I am not sure. It would not be ordinary to listen to trucks running out of the hotel all night. I'm sorry your sleep was disturbed. We have the latest wi-fi equipment and typically have great remarks about the service. We did have an 18 hour internet outage during the brief snow a week or so ago. Maybe your problem was during that time. We hope you will try us again. We have fully renovated for 2016. Thank you for the nice remarks about your room. Yes, breakfast operates 6am-9am. We do extend it a little on the weekends. Pamela Solarek GM

Last weekend I took a Group of 24 (8 Rooms) Hiking & Skiing. On our way we overnighted in Greenville, SC at the Best Western Greenville Airport Inn. When we arrived the Front Desk was ready for us and got us into our Rooms quickly. The Rooms were great and the Continental Breakfast was very good. We look forward to staying there again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your kind remarks. We do try to pre-prepare for a group coming in. I'm happy we made it easy for you. Please come see us again soon. Pamela Solarek GM

"Staying at BW in Greenville/Spartanburg"

17/01/2016

Very nice place to stay. Room clean. Internet was amazing. Some hotel internets are so slow they could hardly call it "wifi", but not here. So convenient to GSP - only 5 minutes. WAs surprised to see a "tip jar" in the breakfast area. Do we tip now when we totally serve ourselves - isn't the staff paid at least minimum wage.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the nice review. We allow the breakfast attendant to have a tip jar as she does handle some special requests, will help with children and sometimes carry things to tables at requests. We had a lot of request of 'where do I leave a tip for her?' so we made it available. You are in no way obligated to tip. She is well above minimum wage and has been with us many years, no worries. Thanks for the compliments on our speedy wi-fi and convenient location. We appreciate you! Pamela Solarek GM

"For the Price, it was OK"

16/01/2016

This is an old BW hotel, with outside entrances and (2) quite large 2 storey buildings. The room looked like it had been somewhat updated, but still very old overall. TV and WiFi were OK, room could have been a bit cleaner, the heating control was terrible, although it seemed like a reasonably new unit. I finally shut it off, even though it was cold out. It seemed kind of sketchy outside, but ultimately, there were no problems that I experienced. (My car was intact in the morning!). Surprisingly to me, it was very quiet, both from road noise (it was right next to I-85, although my room faced away) and people noise. I had an early flight, so didn't catch breakfast, but check in and check out were both quick and pleasant. The approval and star rating were far higher on the site that I booked, than I would have given it.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. You are correct- our building was built in 1985, 31 yrs ago. It is an exterior corridor style building. We have recently completed a 100% renovation of the hotel. Brand new stylish and modern breakfast room and lobby, new guest room furniture, new hardwood style floors, fresh knockdown paint, pillow top bedding with triple sheeting. 2 weeks ago we completed the renovation with a handsome new furniture package for all guest rooms. If you could let me know which room you were in I'd love to look into the heating problem you mentioned. Thank you for staying. We hope to see you again soon. Pamela Solarek GM

"OK for the price"

11/01/2016

Another site had this as a highly rated motel. Not so much. First, this is an OLD motel; exterior entrance to each room, very noisy old AC/heating systems, drafty doors and windows, thin walls that you can hear your neighbors through, rusty bathroom fixtures. They room was recently refurnished and the beds were very good. There is none of that nasty smelling motel carpeting; hardwood floors - smart. The free breakfast was like most others; free and not really that good. The price was right and given all the things that could be improved, a good value for 1 night stay before departing the airport.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Jeff- I looked through my clerks notes and I don't see any complaints. I looked for a Jeff G and see one who stayed 2 nights. Please feel assured I will check out the room personally. Jeff- While the shell of our building itself is the older style, we have just completed a 100% renovation of the building costing just under a million dollars so to see your feelings about your room is really disappointing to me. We've installed the nice hardwood style floors, painted fresh knock down on all walls, replaced all guest room furniture, worked on landscaping, added additional fitness equipment, totally renovated our lobby, breakfast and meeting space. Most people truly have been very happy with us. I'm sorry that you were not. Please in the future, bring your problems to our attention. We will never be perfect but we will certainly go out of our way to try to make a guests stay more comfortable. Thanks for letting me know, even finding out after the fact is better than not knowing a guest was unhappy. Pamela Solarek GM

07/01/2016

The hotel room was fairly clean and I felt safe in the room. The room was in need of repairs, especially in the vanity/bathroom area, and the curtains were very dirty. My biggest complaint is the billing. I had to make a long-distance call to get an email of my bill (booked two rooms for 5 nights each). The bills automatically include a $2/day safe charge whether you use the safe or not. The charge was credited back to my card. You get what you pay for at this hotel.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Deborah, we have emailed outside trip advisor. Again I want to apologize for the problems you reported. Your stay with us was during the total furniture change and we are sorry you were let down. Pamela Solarek GM

05/01/2016

The staff is particularly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Very nice facility. Clean. Comfortable. And, there's a very good restaurant both on-site and next door. It's only a short ride to downtown Charlotte, if you want to mix in some nightlife in with your plans at the local attractions.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks Robert for the kind review. I think you meant close to downtown Greenville? We are about 1.5 hours from Charlotte. Downtown Greenville is a happening little place;) We are happy you enjoyed our newly renovated rooms. Pamela Solarek GM

"Good location prior to Flight"

4
03/01/2016

We stayed here prior to leaving on an early flight the next morning. This location/venue fit our criteria for having a free shuttle (by 5 AM), along with the option to leave our car in their lot while traveling. No charge for the parking unless you go over 14 days. They had just started a remodeling project, so there was minimal noise until 7 PM. Otherwise our innner corridor, first floor room was quiet. My only complaint was a strong odor from either cleaning products or air freshener which hit us as soon as we entered the room. I did not mention in to the staff as I didn't expect it to cause problems, in the future I might choose to change rooms. Staff was helpful, courteous and our shuttle driver to and from the airport was great.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for your nice review. Yes, it's been a bit chaotic as we completed the renovation of the guest rooms. The project is now complete and we hope you will enjoy it during your next stay. I'm glad you were able to make use of our free airport shuttle.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my stay. I have always had an opinion that Best Western's were "motel-ish." I felt very comfortable and the rooms are updated and attractive. Good quality for the price.

"Not my favorite Best Western"

03/01/2016

Stayed here for 3 nights on vacation. Excellent value. Some employees pleasant, others rude!! The rooms were renovated, Bedding clean, chairs brand new, but very disappointed with the dirty floors. They were wood laminate which is great, but awful cleaning job. We kept our tiny poodle on the bed most of time, as she was too clean to walk around on the floor! They allow up to 2 small dogs for $15.00 each per night, which is cheaper than a kennel! Breakfast bar was the worst of all BW's due to the grumpy woman who worked the buffet constantly yelling that it closes at 9:15am and never replenishing items unless you asked. Also no sausages or bacon or scrambled eggs, only hard boiled. Biscuits and bagels were dry. Must ask for fruit which goes real fast and does not get replenished. Pool was nice but was closed the whole time, I guess do to time of year. There is a dog park but beware of lazy people not bagging and disposing of the poo!! We always stay at BW's, but this was not one of the better ones. Having said that though, the price was great and the beds were comfortable and TV was big enough.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hello! Happy New Year. Your review is unsettling to me. I'm sorry you had so many issues. Helena, the grumpy breakfast lady you mentioned, is just a southern, older country gal. Most people really like her and she typically keeps things full and replenished. I'm sorry that her calling out the time that breakfast closed struck you in a negative way. We have trained her to let people know when the bar will close because we want you to have a chance to grab something else before it is put away. No, you will not find a full hot breakfast here due to our lower rates and we are a Best Western limited service hotel. Best Western offers 3 service levels now. Best Western, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier. I would suggest that you use a BW PLUS property if you are looking for a step up to a hot breakfast with bacon, eggs and sausages or you can save a few bucks here on your room rate and just walk over to waffle house in our parking lot for a few dollars for the meat and hot eggs. We do have hard boiled eggs, yogurt, make your own waffle stations and hot oatmeal, grits and gravy. It's a grade above the typical free breakfast. We also bag the breads and bagels for freshness. The rates at an upgraded Plus BW will also reflect the cost added in where they offer the hot breakfast. We are always trying to improve. Most recently we completed our full renovation when we changed all of the guest room furniture to new. You are correct, the pool will not be open during the winter months. It's way too cold to jump in that water outdoors. I'm surprised you thought it may be open? It is winter. I will ask my staff to monitor the poo bagging in the dog park. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'm sorry you found your floor dirty. Did you bring it to anyone's attention? We are quick to react to problems. I will ask my housekeeping supervisor to check and see who she needs to coach regarding that problem. Again, I'm sorry you were not happy. We hope to do a better job for you in the future. Clean and the decor is very pleasant, plus the Waffle House is next door with the ability to easily walk to it; no need to get back in the car and go elsewhere if one chooses not to. It is a good Waffle House. Easy-on and easy-off to Route. 85. Wonderful restaurants, shops close by if you want more choices than Waffle House.

"It was my worst nightmare.."

22/12/2015

I booked online through priceline for two nights. I was checked in by front desk lady around 6:00pm. At 1:00 AM some other guest was given keys to the same room by mistake. I got woken up by this big bang and I found out later that the other guest tried to open my room from outside and since I had it bolted from inside and he couldn't open and left. And then the worst part is I got a call from this rude front desk person at 1:45 AM and the front desk person was asking me very RUDELY who I am and why I am staying in this room as he couldn't find my details in his system. This front desk person had no clue and he tried to book the same room to another guest and he was mad at me and hung up on me at 1:30 AM . He is so rude and he didn't even apologize after finding out it was the Hotel's mistake. I ended up calling Best Western's Customer service at 2:00 AM and raised a complaint and I found that they had made a mistake. In spite of knowing it was a mistake on the part of the hotel, this guy Randy didn't call me back to explain the situation or apologize. He is so RUDE. I found out this guy has been working there in the same hotel for three years. I would never go back to this hotel again even if they offer me free stay. I never felt safe here. I still have not received apologies from either this Front desk person or Best Western.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Ravi, The problem that happened was that Laura had accidentally put you in the system incorrectly. When Randy sold the room he was surprised to find someone there. I'm glad you had the bolt on the room and that no one came in. Randy did not call you back because of the obscenities you shouted at him. I'm sorry but it made him really uncomfortable. We're very sorry it happened. It was an accident and was our fault. Willie did call Priceline and asked them to refund one night because this was our fault. I checked today and I do see we processed credit on our side. Willie told me he had also left voice mail for you to let you know we have give one of your 2 nights free due to this problem. I'm sorry you felt the resolution was unacceptable. We tried our best. Pamela Solarek

"Everything was great except the breakfast"

21/12/2015

The bed was very comfortable. Room was very clean. Breakfast was the worst I have experienced. Grits were very watery and lukewarm, oatmeal was very watery and cold. Waffles didn't really have any taste at all. The room & staff were wonderful though.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry you were not happy with the breakfast. We intend to change our breakfast a little soon to add toppings for the waffles and the oatmeal and most likely will eliminate grits and gravy. I believe once that is complete that will address all of the problems you mentioned. The Carbon company waffles, to me, taste better than waffle house. I'm surprised you didn't like them. With most guests, they're really a big hit. We will keep trying to improve it. Happy Holidays, Pamela Solarek GM

The dog manure around the pet area was so bad I didn't walk my dog there, I took her out by the road then I cleaned it up, then I told the lady at the front desk about the pet area she said it will be cleaned up now, well it is still there two days later.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review

07/12/2015

Whenever visiting Greenville, my husband and I stay at this Best Western. You can find more expensive and fancier hotels. But, clean, quiet accommodations, a comfortable bed with enough pillows and hot showers are at the top of our list; and we have never been disappointed. The breakfast items are good and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I noticed someone complained about the hardwood floors . . . really? They're easier to keep clean than carpeting and were nicely done.

Thanks for the nice review! We have nice new guest room furniture coming next week. We look forward to a return visit from you. Pamela Solarek GM

30/11/2015

The room was very nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. We arrived after midnight, and had no problems checking in. The staff was very prompt and we were in our room fairly quickly. Only had 2 minor issues: a few of the HD channels didn't want to work and the shower pressure was weak, but those are minor issues that really didn't effect us or the trip. For the price, it was a great deal and I would definitely stay here again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review

27/11/2015

Room wasn't so clean, Hair on the bed and bathroom floor. Breakfast just OK. Not a bad place to stay for a budget hotel. Did notice some hookers around the property. My great experience was the kindness and helpfulness of Laura at the front desk.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Kevin- I'm sorry for you cleaning issue- did you bring it to the attention of our staff? They would quickly solve something like that for you. I will bring it to the attention of housekeeping. You made a disturbing comment that you noticed hookers? Were you approached? Did you report this? We have resident employees for the specific purpose to keep bad business out of our hotel and we work closely with police to prevent anything like that so please let me know exactly what happened. We are not aware of any problem at all. I will be in my office to take your call Monday. Pamela Solarek GM

18/11/2015

I booked this hotel and my reservation was for a non smoking room, got there and they only have smoking rooms which I got it because I've been driving all day. Well, I deal with drunk people in the parking lot right in front of my door, and room that smell disgusting .I'll never, ever will stay here again! !!!!!!!!!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I'm sorry you were in a smoking room and did not want one. The only situation where something like this would happen is when you book a name your own price third party room. When you book an opaque rate you are not guaranteed a specific room type. We try to put those rooms in double not smoking type except in extremely busy days when none are available. I would strongly recommend that you book your room direct with the hotel next time for a guaranteed room type. Again, we are sorry you were unhappy. Please remember for future that those type bookings work the same way in all hotels, not just ours. Pamela Solarek GM

Overall the stay was good. The only complaint I had was low water pressure and bad water temperature in shower. It was in great locations close to shops and restaurants and highway access. The staff were all friendly. Free breakfast & Wifi but no meat on breakfast bar.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hey-Thanks for writing the review for us. If we have someone taking a shower at the same time that the laundry machines start- there's about a 5 minute window that the water pressure goes berserk. We've tried to get it corrected and have found no solution. I'm sorry- it sounds like you may have been showering at those exact 5 minutes. We will keep trying to fix the pressure problem. Thanks again in spite of that problem for giving us a good review! Pamela Solarek GM

Room was clean, bed comfortable and shower good. Hotel was quiet. Everything worked, but it is an airport hotel. Breakfast room was large and light but seats was very soft, so you sat really low.No complaints

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. I agree with you that some of the soft seating is lower. We wish we had checked that before buying those chairs. Luckily we have 3 varied heights of seating plus the breakfast room looks very nice and modern. We hope you enjoyed it. Try the higher seating options next time along the wall or in the center. 30/10/2015

VERY dated. Very small. Room smelled of urine when a/c was turned on. CERTAINLY DID NOT appreciate the skateboarders VERY early, EVERY morning, considering we traveled all night, arriving at 2:30-3 am. Coffee served at breakfast room was very fresh and very good. Glad there was a Waffle House next door! Need some serious, detailed attention on this property. CHARGED $2.00/day. we were NOT advised of, for a safe in room we did not even use! Good thing?? The staff was very pleasant, from the front desk to housekeeping. SERIOUSLY recommend influence and training from the Stuart, FL, Best Western on US-1. They have it right! So sorry to have to provide a less than positive review, but it is what it is....just facts.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Sandi, I tried to look up Sandi S to go take a look at the room you were in but none pops up in my system. Did you call our front desk if you found an odor there? We are fast to react to complaints. That is unusual considering we have nice hardwood style floors. The 2.00 you see there is for use of the in room safe. It is disclosed in the initial registration card you sign and also on a large sign located in the lobby. It is a paid amenity we offer through a company called Safemark. You will find a small fee for that service in thousands of hotels. It also states if you do not choose to use the amenity you may ask for refund at check out. Most customers do use the safe so we've found it to be valuable. One thing I noticed was your remark about another Best Western. I'd be interested to know what things you found better there. I took a look and I do see the rate is about $40 per night higher than ours so for certain I would hope they are providing something extra for that price. In December we will complete our full renovation with new guest room furniture. We hope to see you again in the future! Feel free to call me with more feedback. We are always interested to listen. Had an early flight out of GSP. This hotel is an old style but is very clean, and reasonable. It is located right beside I 85 and you can be at the airport in 5 minutes. If you have an early morning flight this place is perfect. They also have a shuttle so you can leave your car for a week.

"Pet friendly but noisy"

26/10/2015

I found the room to be very clean and comfortable and was grateful for a place that allowed my canine travelling buddy. However, the room was on the Interstate side and it sounded as if the traffic was coming through the room. And it continued throughout most of the night. Additionally, because the rooms are so reasonable, the hotel attracts a lot of "working folks", many of whom drive noisy trucks out at 5am. So I didn't get good sleep. I might stay again if a courtyard room was available, butI would not opt to stay on the freeway side again.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Yes, there's a lot of construction in the area so you will see construction workers heading to work early. I'm sorry the freeway traffic disturbed you. We offer soft earplugs at the desk free for our noise sensitive guests. Yes, I think you would find a courtyard room quieter. Thanks again. Pamela Solarek GM

I wanted to take my kids to see some fall color but did not want to break the bank. I had made a reservation at another hotel and then saw the reviews on this one and changed plans but was a little worried based on the price and some comment. The hotel was very easy to find, convenient to a walmart, gas station and popular restaurants. Check in went quickly and the gentleman at the desk was polite. When I walked in it was clean and not only that it smelled clean. This is a huge thing for me, it didn't smell like cleaner or anything else it just smelled clean. With it being a pet friendly hotel someone made very wise decisions to use laminate floors, faux leather bed skirts and couch. Nothing that attracts hair or holds pet scent. They got bedding to us right away for the fold out. For the price it really couldn't be beat. We also appreciated the dog park with doggy bags. It is an older building, it's been repainted who knows how many times and it isn't fancy. But when your going to be out and about all day all that matters is a hot shower, a clean bed and AC that works (and it did work great with no musty smells!). Someone else mentioned workers. Yes, they were there and I was a solo Mom with her kids and they did not bother us in the slightest. We could hear some traffic noise but the room faced away from the freeway and didn't keep us up. Had neighbors every night for our 3 night stay and didn't hear a peep. Breakfast wasn't over the moon but it was way better then some and filled us up before hiking.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad that you pointed out that you felt comfortable and safe as a solo mom traveling alone. I lived in the hotel myself for awhile and never had a problem. Construction workers are just there to work. Thanks again. Pamela Solarek GM

"Staff saved my online booking fail"

I booked our 1 night stay through a website and apparently was not given all the details about this hotel. You should know this hotel is sold out almost every night, when you check in don't be surprised if you have to wait. The staff can "seem" unhappy when they wait on you, trust me they do care but are just stressed out. I found this to be the case when the staff told me I booked a smoking non king room. I certainly would never have done that seeing that I quit smoking a year ago, I now find the odor repulsive but it also makes me want to pick up a cigarette, giving into my inner struggle to remain smoke free. The staff flat out told me all the rooms were booked and unfortunately I was stuck with a room I couldn't stay in for more than 10 minutes. The front desk employees said they would come in and help reduce the odor with a special cleaning agent. We agreed and left for downtown to eat. My husband was trying to find another hotel when the front staff who I had assumed thought I was a demanding and spoiled brat, who had to get her way. But I had underestimated how much they cared, they were able to switch my room to a non smoking King Bed room. Thank you for fixing my mistake online and helping me stick to my healthy life goals. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, but I will call the hotel to book next time!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for writing a review for us. I'm glad our staff were able to accommodate your request to change the room style. Yes, our hotel is filling nightly. We try our best to accommodate special requests when possible. Pamela Solarek GM

"For a 2-star hotel it was excellent. "

While older, the hotel was well maintained and clean. There were obvious efforts to make it aesthetically pleasing. The room was comfortable and decent sized, at least for two people. The breakfast was basic, but with a decent selection. We would stay here again, even with our two kids. By the way, we stayed here to visit the Biltmore to conserve funds and it worked well. It was an easy 1 hour 15 minute drive to the Estate.

this Best Western is in a great location. It is in easy driving distance to a wide variety of restaurants and a few shops plus it is right off the freeway. The best part of the room is that they have replaced the carpet with laminate "hardwood" flooring. The bed was comfortable and the room, especially the bathroom, was spotless. It was more than we expected from an economy hotel.

Hey thanks for the nice review. We sure do appreciate you taking the time out of your day to do that. Come see us again. Pamela Solarek GM

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here. The room was better this time. The chair and couch were so dirty I would never sit down in or on them. They always seem to have every dirty worker in the area staying there. I'm taking about their uniforms and persons. They all sit in the walk ways and smoke and talk very loud. It was fine for me till I wanted to sleep. Lucky they went in a 11pm.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Christopher. There is a lot of construction going on in the area right now so you were probably indeed seeing workers. I assure you they are no one to fear, just hard working people. We host families and ball teams all the time with no problem. If you are here in the early week you will for sure see more construction workers. I hope you let us know about the dirty chair, what room it was, so we may clean if it hasn't already been handled. We typically have extremely clean rooms. In December we are getting all new guest room furniture. Please come see us again. Pamela Solarek GM

Hotel is old and needs renovation. Price is in line with this, so overall this is a good value. No specific problems; everything worked properly. The breakfast and the eating area are better than the rest of the hotel.

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for taking the time to review us. You are correct. The lobby and breakfast renovation are complete. We have new guest room furniture coming in December. We hope to see you again! Pamela Solarek GM

Staff excellent and extremly helpfull. An older inn but kept up nicely. Price was fair and I thought it to be a good value. I look forward to staying their again. Several places to eat withing walking distance and location is convenient to I-85 and only a few exits from the Greenville - Spartenburg Airport

"Perfect location"

The hotel was clean, friendly, perfect location for a stop off the freeway with lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good and nice area. The price was great and worth every penny. The outside looks a little dated but the rooms were comfortable.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the kind review- I agree the exterior corridor look is a little dated but there's not much we can do to change the style of the building. However, we've nicely updated the guest rooms and in December we'll go one step further to complete the renovation with nice new guest room furniture. Please come see us again! Pamela Solarek GM

"Awesome Place to Stay"

Stayed here while enjoying NGU Family Weekend and it was very nice. I love Best western hotels and this one had the faux wood floors as an extra touch. The hotel is right off of the Interstate so its easy access to the area. I can say that I did not hear too much traffic from the freeway or the airport. The only thing that could have made it better was if I could have experienced the pool. It looked so beautiful. The breakfast wasn't the best but it was edible. A Waffle House is right next door so that is helpful. I think this is a great place for families or couples. We had a King room which included a sleeper couch. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who needs a place to stay in the area.

Thanks so much for the kind review. I really do appreciate that. Please come back and see us again the next time you are in town. Pamela Solarek GM

"Odd approach to cleaning rooms."

We were staying for three nights and wanted to stay in downtown Greenville, but forgot about the Clemson_ND game and couldnt find a reasonable hotel any closer. So we knew were not getting the Taj Mahal, but it was typical outward facing room door sketchy type motel. We came back one night to a strange woman just hanging out on the steps, room A/C was not working, and the maid tried to come into the room at 830AM and when we were still in bed told her not yet. She never came back. That night when I went to the front desk he was less than concerned. NOT a place I would recommend, even on the cheap.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
I am sorry the housekeeper came to your room at 8:30. I know my Housekeeping Supervisor has started a couple of new ladies cleaning and that may have been the situation. I will mention this to her so that she can make sure they know they should start with vacant rooms first. Some people do not like an exterior corridor hotel which seems to be the way you feel. I would recommend for you the Best Western Piedmont. It is still a Greenville hotel but has interior corridor rooms. I hope that helps. Pamela Solarek GM

"Disappointing"

Wanted to stay in a clean budget hotel for one night and found this based on recommendations on Tripadvisor. We reached the hotel close to 1.30 am at night. The customer assistant at the desk was curt to say the least. We had to carry our luggage through stairs as there was no elevator. The room door was completely broken and had to be kicked open. There was a very bright florescent light right outside our room ,with no shade on it ,and no matter what we did we could not keep the light off of the room.It was almost like sleeping under bright sunshine. The hot water in the shower was at best lukewarm. The only good thing was we had free breakfast in the morning.I did mention the draw backs to the clerk at the front desk next morning while checking out.Hope they fix at least the door. Until then ...say no if they assign room 258.

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for reporting your issues. Yes, I looked and can see the door was taken care of that day. I have also asked maintenance to take a look at the lighting from outside and how it effects the inside of the room. No, you are correct, we do not have an elevator in the hotel since we are just 2 floors. I'm terribly sorry you had any problem but grateful that you are reporting it to me now. I'm sorry you felt my desk agent was curt with you. Please let us know if that was a male or female. We will talk to the staff as a whole about these issues. Pamela Solarek GM

Clean, super comfortable beds. Remote came in a "fresh remote" bag that was super cute. Bathrooms were very clean, water pressure was amazing after having stayed at a different hotel for a few nights that was lacking pressure. Equipped with a safe for valuables, and breakfast was delicious. Was a wonderful overall stay!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the lovely review. After reading a couple that were not as happy, this was refreshing. We are not a perfect place by any means but we are continuing to improve. In December we will replace the guest room furniture! How exciting! Please come again soon. Pamela Solarek GM

It was a nice stay with my family for two nights. We enjoyed and I will consider taking Best Western again. The staff on the reception and departure was very cordial. Value wise it was very good. It is around 9 miles from downtown.

This Motel is located near by I85 (200 ft away) - very busy interstate in the night. My room was facing the interstate and I had the feeling that I85 is going through my room. Didn't get any sleep in the night. 2 starts because the room itself and the breakfast were Ok. Will never book this motel again - sorry, but in the night I like to sleep. Cannot understand all other very positive reviews. P.S.: Go to the google maps street view - you will see the motel from the interstate (Waffle House sign)

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
JB- I'm so sorry you hated your room on the interstate side. Maybe it was an extra noisy day for the Interstate. We realize you do hear cars on that side. We offer soft earplugs at the front for guests who are bothered. I would suggest if you should choose to stay again to ask for a courtyard side room. It seems that you did like our room. Again I'm really sorry that you had trouble hearing cars on the interstate. I lived in an apartment closest back there to the interstate for 5 years. Sometimes you hear trucks but it's not terrible. If you are used to sleeping in perfect silence- yes, it would bother you. That's why I buy earplugs for noise sensitive guests- plus, in exterior hotels- you also hear more from outside. We do hope to see you again sometime. Pamela Solarek GM

"Noisy"

Excellent hotel, bad location. The room was very large, clean & pet friendly. The outside pet area was a nice surprise, however very noisy being right next to the interstate, especially for a timid dog. We could here the interstate noise in our room. We had a minor issue with the bathroom, called the desk and within 5 minutes maintenance & housekeeping were there and had the issue resolved & cleaned up!!!

pamelasolarek2, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Hi Rhonda, I wanted to thank you for the review and compliments for the room. I'm sorry your pup did not like the road noise at the pet park in the back. Yes, you do hear those vehicles back there. Hopefully you were able to take him for walks around the front and sides of the hotel where it's quieter but there's no places as great as that gated yard to let them off the leash to run a bit. Sadly, there's nothing I can do to close the Interstate. Pamela Solarek GM

"Very nice!"

Hotel was extremely clean and stay couldn't be nicer. The only one complaint I had was how thin the walls were. We could hear the neighbors tv and exactly what he/she was watching. Other than that couldn't ask for anything else! Willie at the front desk super nice and helpful. We had to check out early due to flooding for our drive home, and he was nice enough to work with us and be professional and courteous to help out! If in the are will definitely be back!

pamelasolarek, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Greenville Airport Inn, responded to this review
Thanks for the kind remarks. I'm sorry you were bothered by some noisy neighbors. We hope to see you again along the way. Pamela Solarek GM

"Great value for the money"

We chose this hotel primarily for the price point and proximity to the airport. We were arriving after midnight and called both the car rental as it says they close at midnight and the hotel to let them know to not release our room. It was nice that the hotel was near the airport as we were exhausted when we came in. You can see the sign from the road and it is next to the Waffle House. The property is open air two story buildings and we were on the second floor. We had lots of rain so I appreciated being by the stairs as the rain and wind were in a different direction. The weather made me hunker down so I missed the free breakfast each day. The rooms offered the microwave and refrigerator so we went to a grocery store and purchased frozen meals and salads. The room was clean and looked just like the photos. Free wifi and cable made it feel like home. The room was noisy when guests came back to their rooms. Hotels can't control the language of guests so guys be careful as children and teens can hear your conversation as you pass by and its difficult for parents to explain what is being said on the other side of the wall. The majority of guests were quiet and at no time did I (a woman) feel unsafe. If you are on a budget and visiting the area this is a good option.

It had a clean bed for me to sleep in, free breakfast, and free wifi. That's about all I needed. Wasn't impressed by anything, but that's to be expected considering the price I paid. Getting onto Pelham Rd in the mornings is a bit of a trick though. Greenville is a training center for one of my employer's vendors, so I will probably be staying here again.

We stayed the weekend. The room was nice and clean staff was friendly. The room was very noisy you could hear your neighbors water running, people outside talking, so I know they could hear us. It was a very nice area to stay just don't except quit

I'm sorry you had some noise issues. With exterior corridors you do hear a bit more of what is going on around you. Take care and hope to see you again soon. Pamela Solarek GM
