Very good hotel, friendly staff and especially opposite to the reception, very nice rooms. Ideal airport hotel. The price is very good taking into consideration that you are near the airport of Charleroi, that breakfast is included and that a good wifi is in place.
Very good location nearby Charleroi airport, easy to reach. Good parking facilities, courteous staff. A place for a good night sleep before getting to the airport. Good breakfast, in less hassle than at the airport. Flawless wifi. Easy check-in and check-out
The hotel is as expected for a short pre or post flight stay. What I did not like was the advertising of an airport shuttle when this is misrepresenting what is actually on offer. Due security fencing it is several kilometers to walk from or to the airport and therefore transportation is necessary. The hotel's shuttle is 3.50 euro per person which is reasonable when it is operational but what you aren't told online is that it runs only between 8pm and 12 and then again between 5am and 9am. If outside those hours you need to pay their taxi rate of 12 euros. All OK if stated up front but it isn't and my three attempts to email for information on how to catch the shuttle were not responded to and our two telephone calls received conflicting information - not good Aero44! We ended up paying 15 euro for a cab at the airport at 4pm rather than have to make another toll call and wait for them to arrange one and work out how to locate it. Given it cost us only 5 euro to get from Brugge to Charleroi on a direct shuttle bus this was pretty aggravating. Also, be aware it's in the middle of nowhere services wise and the restaurant hours are limited. We brought food with us but would have been very unhappy if we hadn't.
we stayed in this hotel for 1 night. we have experienced it as pleasant. the room was not big but the room had everything the description said. the room and bathroom were clean. we did not suffer from noise in or outside the hotel. the staff was friendly. the breakfast had a wide range, tasted good. the only downside was that 1 bedside lamp did not work and the toilet was rinsing hard. but we did not suffer from that. highly recommended. I would definitely come back again!
Food is fantastic if you have plenty of spare time to wait for it. As for getting a drink your offered when you order and never offered again. They take no notice of empty glasses on your table except when they eventually come to your table and will wisk them away with no offer of another drink. Wouldn't have been so bad but the restaurant was only a 3rd full. They must loose so much money on sales of drinks and food. I would have got up and walked out hungry and thirsty if I wasn't in company. Staff obviously need training and an incentive to serve customers. I even had to wait to book a table. The waitress saw me but was too busy on her phone in the kitchen.
I'm not a fan. We booked a quadrouple room and I would have expected the sofa bed to be ready upon arrival. The area which surrounded the hotel was absolutely scary. I'm glad I didn't have to stay here for longer than 5 hours. We ordered a pick up at the airport. It took a really long time for the driver to show up in an old taxi. We paid tripple the rate compared to a regular taxi. The room - however - was actually kind of nice and it deserved to be part of another hotel in another area.
Stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were very helpful.rooms were nice and tidy. The food in the restaurant was very reasonably priced . Taxi into Charleroi centre was a bit steep will cost you 40 euro there and back but the hotel always tried to put someone else in our taxi to share the cost. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent hotel, idealy located for an early flight or access to the airport, excellent food at the restaurant with reasonnable price, very nice and surprising wine selection. Very friendly team all across the hotel. I strongly recommend the place.
This is my preferate hotel when I have an early flight from Brussels south. The rooms are comfortable and there is a restaurant specialized in steaks Nevertheless the personal is not very friendly and act like robots ! For one night it is acceptable
I stayed in this hotel given its proximity to the office i visited. it was just for one night. thought it's well located for the airport (charleroi) and the industrial area. Room is of decent size, clean and comfortable. Shower compartment may be a bit small for a 6 footer. Reception is friendly. It makes a good choice for travellers to the area. There is a restaurant in the hotel. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The baguette is superb. Ordered beef steak fillet and it is well executed. It costs €24 though so it's not a place for a quick bite.
54€ pero night with no breakfast. Good to arrive to charleroi, spend the night and start moving early. Necesario a cargo yo arrive from the airport terminal and a little bit darle to get there. Amy way good room with TV and free wifi and free parking
+The hotel is near the airport; 5 minutes with the car +clean rooms +friendly staff +free parking -the restaurant did not have too much diversity in the a la carte menu; quite expensive and not so tasty
If you book this hotel take into account that they don't provide transportation to/from the hotel between 9 am and 8 pm (!) - they can call a taxi for you for 12 Euros way. For additional 24euros you can book Hotel Balladins which is situated in front of the terminal, get some spare money for a bottle of wine and stay in a better hotel... (P.S. - By the way - the taxi they ordered for me never came, I wait 1 hour in a pouring rain and finally get one by myself)
Nice enough hotel we stayed in the executive suite. Room was lovely. Downsides are the hotel offer room service but you need to leave your room and collect your food and also you need to go to the bar (in a different building) to see the menu No menu in the room, so to me this does not count as room service as I was feeling unwell and couldn't leave the room ghat night so went without dinner. For the price of the executive room that is not good enough. Staff unhelpful. Close enough to the airport and very clean hotel but the room service and the menu let it down massively the menu is so over prices they do not offer bar food but offer pretentious food like lobster starters but who wants to spend €19 on a starter in a airport hotel.
Food like at a 5 stars restaurant, biftec tartar look amazing, very taste, pasta with somn, somon at grill, salads, local arizanal beer, all was the best, and price lower than centre. Recomand for transit
Stayed for a night, good accommodation(great bed, pillows, bathroom, heat), nice bar for a quick belgian beer, shuttle service almost for free(booked a shuttle bus but received a taxi for 3 euros). Also you 'll find a supermarket just across the street.
Although the location is conveniently close to Charleroi airport I am not sure if I would stay here again with my family. Yes, the location is good as well as the service. The sofa-bed and the airconditioning took away a lot of the holiday fun beforehand.
just right for the airport. Fast inn / out. Airport shuttle service and parking free for use. Quiet rooms and good bed. Taxi service from hotel out great, at airport a bit difficult to find. Breakfast is standard but correct priced.
While the hotel is located in a modern industrial area it is convenient for visiting Charleroi, Mons, Brussels, Namur etc. Bedrooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard and the breakfast is very good. Evening meals in the restaurant are of an exceptionally high standard with excellent table service at a very reasonable price.
The motel was clean and modern enough, but it was isolated from all conveniences: restaurants, shopping and anything else you might imagine. My daughter and I arrived there around 2pm after a 2.75 hour train ride from Maastricht over the lunch hour. Not having lunch, we were informed that the hotel restaurant had just closed and would not open until 7pm, pizza couldn't be ordered until 5:30pm and the snack machine was broke. I explained that we hadn't eaten, so The receptionist offered to call us a taxi. I explained that I had just spent €22.5 to get there in a taxi after a 2.75 train ride and was ready to relax. I would have thought that she would have offered some fresh fruit, or anything to suffice our hunger need until dinner, but she didn't. To me, she fully demonstrated that we were just another number and that this motel's management only encourages their employees to just do what they have to to get occupants and no more; don't go “above board”, or “out of your way”, in other words. No class BW Aero 44!
a great place to stay our room was first class and the food was excellent . the service at dinner was a little on the slow side but the food was superb. the access from the main road was a little clumsy with the hotel not being clearly sign posted off the main road.
Perfect location for accessing airport. Modern, comfortable, no hassle. Hotel has a shuttle to airport from 5am in morning every 30 minutes and drops you off a taxi rank. I didn't have any meals on this trip.
Faulty card reader to open bedroom door, room 306. Every day I had the same problem: it went green after 5-10 or more swipes, but it remained looked notwithstanding the green light. Then after a second round of 5-10 swipes the green light come back again and the second green light finally unlocked the door. Faulty key card power switch. I told reception and they told me it was normal and I should press very very hard. I had to press so hard I thought it would break. The room looked nice and newly furnished. Lots of ants on the desk when I entered the room. They gave me insect spray at reception, but interestingly they did not offer me to change room, as if it were normal to find ants in a hotel bedroom. Poor sound insulation between rooms. I could understand each word coming from next door, including the words of people talking on the neighbour's phone load speakers. Very noisy fridge always on and overheating the desk. Mattress was comfortable, but wobbly on the edge, so I had to be careful not to fall out of bed. Internet connection was fine before 7 pm, but was very slow or absent after 7 pm. Elegant but extremely uncomfortable chair at the desk Connection to and from airport is problematic. The hotel told me on the phone 25 min walk, but I took 1 hour, as all airport side exits are fenced out to increase security, so you end up walking all the way round without proper pavement at your own risk. Hotel taxi service only available at night. My colleague during the day asked airport taxi driver to take him to hotel, but the driver refused saying the hotel was too close to the airport. Indeed, but it is too far away by foot! Breakfast was ok, with toast, cereal, egg and bacon, but space was extremely limited, so that only one person fitted in the buffet area at one time. The table space was also extremely small. Every day the type of bread for the toaster would change, so sometimes it would burn, sometimes it would be fine. Upon booking, I paid more to have the breakfast included, but I then found out that the waitresses never asked for the room number nor name, so it was not necessary to pay extra for the breakfast. I asked the reception about this, and they told me the waitresses ask for the room number: that is not true! Very important problem was the absence of ventilation as bathroom suction not active. I tried the tissue paper test and did not stick at all to the vent hole. Due to small volume of room and total absence of air exchange, I would have headache and feel some nausea at night (quite possibly related to CO2 high concentration in the air: the room was 50m3 and contained 0.04% CO2 that is 1 mole of CO2, and I released approx. 10 moles of CO2 overnight, without air exchange that is an incredible amount of CO2 to breath in, in a small room. In the future, I shall travel with a CO2 reader. Notwithstanding it was cold outside I had to open window a few times per night. Thus, letting in mosquitos that would bother me every night. Apart from ants and mosquitos, I also had a big spider and a fly which kept ne "company" for the whole week. I would rename it the "echo friendly" hotel. I would be tempted to give one star, but would need to come back once more to make such a definitive decision. However, I would rather go elsewhere next time!
Restaurant is really making your stay a good experience, and service of taxi to the airport is very efficient, except it comes for a price after peak hours. Room was smelly and customers quite loud at the bar.
The hotel is located in an industrial area in the outskirts of Bruxelles Charleroi airport. Once I landed at Charleroi, I called them in order to send me their shuttle to pick me up, and I had to wait 40 MINUTES even if the hotel is at 2-3 km... I called 3 times and they kept telling me the shuttle will arrive in 5 minutes.... Rooms are pretty small but clean and well equipped, wi-fi is OK, breakfast is OK (10 Euros per person), bar absolutely overpriced: I had to pay 6,5 Euros for a 1 liter bottle of water because the mini fridge inside the room had just a 1/2 liter water bottle inside. The restaurant closes at 9:30 pm so no way to eat something because I arrived at 11 pm.
I spent two nights in this hotel due to the location for business meetings as it is fairly close to Charleroi airport. The hotel is located in an industrial area next to a massive Caterpillar plant and a car is needed to get around as local amenities are not close. I ended up in new block in a decent sized room with a workspace, fridge etc but air con wasn't working so I left window open as it was really warm and humid during evening. As a result I was bitten by insects many times during the night and was left with with many large, itchy bites looking like elephant man. So keep windows closed. Restaurant was ok but menu was limited and took an eternity to serve. Self service breakfast was just ok. Staff seemed miserable but perhaps it's just the dry Belgian way.
Stayed here on the recommendation of a work colleague. Hotel is within 10mins drive of the airport so good location for an early morning flight from Charleroi. Decent Belgium beers on sale at the bar and good food in the restaurant, rooms needed a bit of a spruce up, but the bed was very comfy, good shower. So ticks a lot of boxes for a one night stopover.
Very nice hotel ,and the personnel was very kind and nice ,very professional . In a very difficult and unexpected moment of my life ,they made me feel safe ,just like at home . The food was amazing ,and the prices were for everybody's budget . Thank you for an amazing experience .
Stayed here as had an early morning flight. Room was clean and acceptable. Opening hours of bar and restaurant are poor. No shops close by so take supplies. Shuttle to airport was 3.50 euro. Restaurant was ok but very expensive for mediocre food. Was quite noisy at night due to thin walls, but ok for one night if needs must.
A week ago I stayed overnight whilst travelling home to the UK. I had booked a room and was allocated one on the third floor. The room stank. I thought there was a sewerage works nearby and closed the window. It didn't help, so perhaps a problem with the plumbing. I decided to get something to eat. The waiter/barman in the 'restaurant' was really miserable, not a smile in sight. The beer I had was a short measure. The ravioli I ordered was barely warm and the sauce was obviously from a jar. The receptionist was as unfriendly as the rest of the staff without the good grace to smile as he took my money.
Booked on booking.com as fright in the morning was early the pictures on the web site fantastic and the room we revived was poor I went back to resection to complain I was told if we wanted a double bed it would be €10 more I said the pictures on the website where not of the hotel o I asked to see the rooms from the website I was taken to a building just across the road was fabulous but I was told the where double the price and we all so had to pay another €6 tax we where told don't be fooled what you see is not what you get very Disappointed would not reckoned it or stay here again
Me and my boyfriend are not the ones to complain however this is the worst hotel we've stayed in by far. We was travelling home early hours so thought it was a good idea to stay here. Downstairs lobby area where the restaurant was, was lovely which I wouldn't fault at all so you're expecting your room to be the same. The room was so small you could barely move in it, there was dead flies on the walls, there was not one English channel on the television, the wifi was very poor and considering you're in the middle of no where you're stuck in the room for the night with nothing. The restaurant food is really expensive so we only got fries cause there wasn't much choice, there's no nearby shops or anything and there was a vending machine with only a bottle of coke in and some m&ms so before you go this hotel make sure you come prepared with snacks and drinks because there is nothing. The weather was extremely hot with no air conditioning in the rooms, we was sweating from the heat and had to get a cold shower because the window had no latch on it so we felt like we had no air in the room, we had to get the chair and push it in between the window to keep it open, the next morning me and my boyfriend woke up with so many bites off flies because its located near trees, so be careful. Would not stay here again as the facilities are poor. It offers a shuttle bus to the airport but you have to pay anyway so best just getting a taxi.
Typical hotel at the airport. Especially suitable for people who require a stay overnight before or after a flight. The hotel is within driving distance of 10-15 minutes from the airport. Likely a relatively small room with a mini fridge. Breakfast is relatively expensive. Free parking is available.
Good size room and bathroom, clean with a nice restaurant.Wheelchair friendly, convenient parking.Disappointing breakfast with cold food served at the back instead of the restaurant, making us feel that hotel guests are not worthy.Very complicated itinerary to get to the airport. The hotel offers a shuttle with very strange and useless schedule
Charleroi airport would have to be one of the more unpleasant ones in Europe - cheap and nasty (which is no doubt why airlines like Ryanair use it - and I got there at 10.30 p.m. on a hot night when there were huge crowds, no phone available anywhere in the airport, and the taxi drivers having organised a cartel to charge 4-5 times the regular price. But once I got inside the hotel, all was calm: clean, comfortable rooms, well-equipped bathrooms, free wi-fi, and a shuttle to the airport in the morning. I have had some bad experiences at Charleroi in the past and only wish that I had known about this option then. It will be on my favourites list from now on.
Our room was large & modern but the bed for rock hard, so uncomfortable. Plenty of free parking outside, with no height restriction but location was so difficult to find even with GPS. Our room smelt so bad with strong smell of cigarettes. Our window was locked so we had to get up in night to ask for a key plus the air conditioning would not come on.
Decent accommodation near the Charleroi Airport. Perfect to stay between flights. The hotel is located aprox. five minutes away from the airport arrivals/departures. The taxi ride will costs 6-8 euros.
a good value hotel only 5 mins from the airport the rooms look like something from the 1970s and the beds were narrow but this was made up for by the attached restaurant which although the service was slow served some great food and beer the hotel offers a transfer to the airport every 30 mins please be aware that it now takes quite a bit of time to gain entry into the airport so plan well in advance - it took us over an hour to get into the airport and security
I booked what looked like an modern aparthotel, which turned out to be a very dated twinned hotel room. The hotel is in the middle of no where, you can't walk out to shops and restaurants etc. The restaurant was closed when I arrived at 9.30pm and there was no other option to get food. I took the Hotel shuttle bus, aka a taxi. It cost 3.50 euros. Leave extra time to get to the airport. There was a huge queue at 5am due to extra security. Staff weren't "very friendly"...... ok they were rude.
We picked this hotel as it was close to the Airport and seemed good value. A twin room with breakfast for two totalled just £43 when booked on-line. The room was clean and quiet and breakfast was fine, with a good choice. The usual Continental fare, but also eggs, bacon and sausage. All buffet. Very good inclusive deal. Served from 6.30 to 10am. Special thanks to Anthony on Reception. We'd hired a car to get to a wedding. Unfortunately, we were struggling with the Satnav. Anthony kindly sorted it for us and saved the day. We can't comment on the restaurant as we ate at the wedding reception.
This hotel is an airport Hotel but not on the airport, its fairly remote so if you want to go anywhere such as downtown Charleroi you are looking at 20 euros one way. Hotel was clean, staff friendly, Bar OK, rooms clean but TV did not work. For short stop its fine, good car park which I think is free.
Rooms are good, internet worked well, but we went to the restaurant and they served us just a little piece of fish/meat and some leaves of salad and we paid 30€!!! Very excessive also because it was nothing special. Also, a 3' ride to the hotel costed us (6 people) 21 € total. They can make all the service better and cheaper...
A bad experience. The receptionist was not very friendly. The room was not so clean and although there was a sign with the smoking ban, I clearly felt that we someone smoked in (the burns on the sink were the evidence). The blankets did not seem clean. The breakfast was normal. The valure for money is bad.
Basic hotel but super resto. Excellent service, excellent wine. This is is what you need after a hard days work. Small a la carte (no salads, sorry), but excellent Weekly changing recommendation. Best ever beef tartare. tasteful. What else....
On arrival there was no one at reception and l had to ring the reception bell several times before a receptionist arrived. The person who arrived to check me in was not welcoming and gave the impression I had actually inconvenienced her by turning up. There was no service with a smile and her manner was curt. The room was ok, clean enough, but nothing of an exceptional standard. Breakfast was terrible. I arrived at 7.50 and there was little left, including basics like bread, cold meats, hot fayre. The waitress appeared to be struggling to keep up with demand. The restaurant did offer very nice food, but service was unfriendly and extremely slow. I would not book again if a convenient alternative was available.
This is a decent hotel when you have a flight the next day. Rooms are simple, but clean. Location is excellent, very close to the airport. The offered service with the airport transport was perfect. The restaurant is quite cosy for an airport hotel.
The quality of the place is pretty good and the team is amazing! THE place to stay for one night or more around the airport! (Beautiful cognac ABK6 also at the bar) Nice food, nice beer, as rooms, nice people... What else! I really recommend it ! Cheers
On a first visit anywhere, if there is a Best Western available I would choose it! This one is obviously handy for the airport, the city of Charleroi and then the capital. I had a very comfortable room on the back of the hotel, a fine breakfast, helped by the hard working assistant, and found a very efficient chap on the front desk, on the morning of Thursday 24th. This was a definite improvement, after the apparent indifference of the late night one.
Stayed here many times as it's close to my place of work. The rooms in the main hotel can be stuffy in the summer and the orange walks take getting used to but always found it clean and comfortable. If possible try to stay in one of the new apartment rooms across the car park. Better beds and lots more space. Breakfast I find is a let down, with choice very limited but it's better than it was six years ago when I first stayed there. At night the resturaunt is very good. Helpful staff and the steak is excellent.
Stayed for one night, we were 4 people Pros: the room was very clean, spacious, and practical. The breakfast was correct also Cons: 2 people slept on the couch which wasn't confy. The TV didnt work well as we had only one remote controller for two TVs, and it automatically turned on both of them... Also, couldn't figure out why all the people at reception were unfriendly, cold... Anyway for one night it was correct
Stayed here overnight on business arriving from Seville at 11:00pm with a 7am flight to Warsaw Modlin the following morning. Called the hotel from the airport requesting the shuttle bus but was told to get a taxi as it was too busy to send for the shuttle bus (the airport was mad busy). The night receptionist was extremely polite and helpful when I arrived and ensured that I had a 4:30am wake-up call and was booked in for the 5:30am shuttle bus. There was a heatwave at the time and with no air conditioning I had a bad night's sleep, but I'd put some of that down as worrying about oversleeping and missing my flight the next day. As it happens I got up before the wake up call and the night receptionist arranged for me to take the earlier 5am shuttle bus (which turned out to be a large taxi) to the airport. Can't really comment too much about the room as I was only in it for 5 hours maximum, but it served a purpose for a brief overnight stop.
Would never stay here again, would rather stay on the dirt mound nearby, would be cleaner than the hotel room. Stayed on the top floor of this hotel, room smelt awful, the drains weren't clearing properly. Complained to reception, no one can come up as only one person working the hotel. Receptionist was a liar. Furnishings in hotel room were scruffy and beds were held together with wood screws through broke joints. Complained about everything with this hotel but staff could not give a damn. General manager was unbelievably rude and basically called us liars and said we caused the damage. How the hell can we cause 30 years of neglect in one day? Stay elsewhere.
