Average in all categories. Room was okay but not more. Worn. Not too comfy beds. No AC. Room felt kind of budget. Breakfast was average. Not too exciting. Breakfast staff looked like they had the most boring job in the world. The bar in the evening had run out of many things. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was a little lower than other hotels in the city. I guess it's fair you get what you pay for.

A good hotel in de centre of the city. Rooms were a bit small, but the breakfast made up for that. Bathroom was simple and the beds were comfortable. We parked our car in de parking building next to the hotel.

Had a comfortable 4 night stay in October 2021, on a bed and breakfast basis. Room was large and comfortable, with a small but practible bathroom. Breakfast area was a nice spacious area, with plenty on the menu to cater for most tastes.

Excellent location close to the train station, restaurants, shopping area and a beautiful park to read and relax. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms are small but have all you need for a shot stay and it's clean. There is a coffee maker and fan in the room if needed.

if you like a bed the size of a prison bed this is the place for you. the location is close to the centre of town and 15 min walk to the station. i would only recommend this hotel if you can't get booked anywhere else. the staff were the best point of the hotel, very friendly and helpful.

BW Gävle is a real Nice hotel in the heart of City and The staff are very Nice and professional. The rooms are small but very comfortable with Nice beds, but no fridge. The breakfast is in The highest level with everything you can ask for. And I can highly recommend this hotel.

Have been enjoying this hotel for 7 months now and would like to recommend this hotel to business people which are searching for a place to on a long term basis. The hotel doesn't have the very best facilities in the area, although the friendly and professional staff will make you feel at home and takes care of you better than any hotel which i have stayed at during the last 20 years.

Is not often I grumble about hotels... Stopped M-F Be careful in the shower, very slippery and if you knock the lever it can be scalding Staff not friendly, but breakfast staff were pleasant and helpful enough Hotel rooms are tired, though looks fine from outside and lobby Heating can be hit and miss as appears to be a fully water radiator piped system Tea/Coffee was not replenished and few times and cups were left unwashed (so no drinks after work until i go out for dinner). No iron in room No telephone No USB sockets parking is 2 minute walk and 150Kr for 24 hours Looks ok from outside and reception/bar breakfast area but rooms look tired and dated.

Gavle Best western staff went out of their way to help me when i became "stuck" in Gavle without a hotel booking. Great staff, very attentive and friendly. A very " can do" attitude prevails on the front desk.

Standard hotel, overpriced. Pay a few hundred SEK more and get a better experience. A big plus is the speedy internet, but a single room with the tiniest bed placed in the middle of the room makes you having bad dreams falling out in your sleep. Beware of the slippery floor in the bathroom having your morning shower.

Recently stayed for a business trip, hotel was clean, very quiet & had everything I needed for the stay. Costs could be reviewed for the restaurant but I accept this is a different with different pricing. Would recommend, and plan to stay for my next visit shortly

We stayed here for two nights. The room was small but adequate. The location was within walking distance of the downtown area, some the area attractions, and a beautiful large park two blocks away. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast offered lots of variety.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and we had to guarantee it before we got there. That should have been a warning. The rooms are tiny and severely overpriced, considering the lack of a fridge or microwave. We stayed in a Best Western in Helsingborg and it was fantastic, from the desk personnel to the breakfast, from the room size to the price. This Gavle Hotel was none of that. It had almost no amenities. There wasn't even ice on the floors. The noise was unbearable in the morning, that sounded like construction, with no warning. The lobby is small and dysfunctional in that we weren't even allowed to eat a snack there. The breakfast was rudimentary and never had enough except the boiled eggs. The desk personnel were not unfriendly, and helpful when we really needed something. I guess that for more than $100 a night, I expected more. We did get several questions about why Americans were here.....

I stayed at the Best Western on a business trip with a colleague of mine for two nights. I booked a double room to get a bit more space rather than a single one and was hoping for a good room. The room itself was ok I guess. Well cleaned and the furniture is quite nice. The bathroom does need an upgrade but it was clean and didn´t have any strange smells or something like that. My room was right at the door on the corridor that all the roooms were in and that bothered me a lot since the house seems to echo all sounds inside the rooms. What´s being done next door or the floor above, you can hear all of it. So whenever someone was coming or going the door on the corridor would slam hard and it got very annoying. I was going to sleep in (was going to wake up at 8) but I woke up at close to 7 when many others were going to breakfast or going out for something, so yeah... Maybe I was unlucky with a room but... Well anyways, the breakfast was quite good, a good selection of things so nothing to complain about there. The staff was nice and like I said earlier the room was well cleaned. But you know how it is when things like noise coming from the surrounding rooms is bothering you... it has an effect so that reflects my rating. For the future I recommend doing something to get better insulation for each room and please get some door shock so the front door on the corridor doesnt slam back each time someone closes it.

The hotel is clean and tidy. In a minimalist style The hotel is comfortable for the room spacious with satisfying bathrooms The advantage of the hotel is the location located in the city center. Which allows you to walk through the city

We were there some weeks ago. Our room was OK the bath was not good, we do not like this kind of bath were you take a shoure withour a tube on the floor. The room was quite and the breakfast was great. we were there for one night and it was good. The service could be better if the stuff at the reception carring more about us....

We stayed for one night when we were visiting family. Had a lovely room that looked newly decorated and very trendy with coat hangers on the wall instead of a wardrobe. The largest TV in a hotel room we have ever seen and a good shower. There was a seating area as well and all looked very clean and modern. Breakfast was good too - buffet style with plenty of choice. Good location within walking distance to the railway station and main square in Gavle. Only disappointment was that there was no bottled water in the room and we had to pay a premium to purchase some at the reception. After staying at the airport Best Weston Hotel we did expect at least water in the room but this did not spoil an excellent overnight stay.

Had a single room with shared shower and toilets. Bed was not too comfortable but adequate. Nice food in restaurant downstairs at reasonable price and very good buffet breakfast. Parking available in parking house just down the street.

From the first call and all the way to check out, everyone on staff has been amazingly sweet. They don't only provide the services you ask for more than willingly, but they also go the extra lengths and make sure that their guests are having a good time. Breakfast had pretty much everything one can ask for accept baked beans. A really nice detail was a juice press so one can make fresh pressed orange juice. Our room was pretty small but had everything one might need. Bring your own conditioner though, because the only thing available in the shower was a combined hair- and body wash. Comfortable beds, but not the thickest blankets. Bring a warm Pyjamas or ask for an extra blanket.

In trying to get a balance between price and convenience it sometimes doesn't work and this was one of those times. The hotel is on the opposite side of the town centre, which was much bigger than we expected so it proved to be a longer walk than expecteded from the station. If you arrive by train and are staying here get a taxi! On our arrival we had to push through a crowd of smokers in the doorway....as it had started to rain many of them nothing to do with the hotel. The room was adequate if a bit "bijou" and space was at a premium. The hotel was quieter than expected gioven it was on a busy road frontage. It is convenient for the local amenities and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent and we ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night as it was tipping it down outside....simple good quality food with good value.

The room was appropriate and good business hotel standard. Clean and functional but not extraordinary. The breakfast was basic swedish standard, a plus is that you can make your own fresh orange juice.

Booked for four nights, but stayed just one. Staff good and friendly but the hotel was poor. "On site parking" means in a shopping centre a couple of blocks away. Rooms small with no space to move around. No facility for coffee making in room but available in lobby.

So, a hotel that might be OK for a night or two I guess... But... I try to be kind in my opinion about hotels here... I think that the least a paying customer can expect is a clean room. Since this was not the case I feel inclined to put a worse grade here. There were stains on the toilet, in the sink and in the shower upon arrival. The hairdryer was dusty, and the space behind the toilet had probably not been cleaned for a couple of weeks. Service was fine otherwise. Breakfast ok, nothing to complain about. Internetconnection was poor. Worked fine sometimes and other times not at all. On top of it all ventilation was really loud from the toilet. Stepped for a one night stay over on my way north as i was travelling by motorbike. A central city hotel with access to local shopping and plenty of restaurants - ideal for a city layover. I had a single room with shared bathroom but the hotel was empty so that was not a problem. Lots to do in the town and lively locals.
