Best Western Carowinds

Venky was exceptional! Very helpful and delightful. We stayed an extra night, choosing to stay at this Best Western during our travels because of his outstanding customer care. My comments are sincere, he was great. Thank you very much Venky!

This Best Western is off the beaten path enough to give you the feeling of seclusion, while being close enough to restaurants, gas station and access to the highway. Resuming your travels is fairly quick.

This hotel is the worst. I checked in a few nights ago and had to leave after an hour because of the banging noise in the room above me, and the smell of weed in the hallway. When i went down to complain, the person working the desk was asleep and snoring. I demanded a refund for leaving after an hour. They refused to credit me back and I filed a complaint at customer relations. This hotel, as well as their management team is the worst i have ever experienced. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY!!

So first I be here every week relaxing on my days off. Friday November 18,2023, my room was a stay over the guest service representative gave the key to the wrong person so they was in the room I paid for. Hotel manager and no one else reached out and compensated me for the inconvenience. Then on November 20, 2023 o made a reservation for 2 nights first he charged me for one night 95$ when room is 79.49 then tried to run it again. When he was supposed to charge both nights. Like I said owner never here or don't reach out to guest. I will not refer no one here.

I question where the high-star reviews are coming from - because my stay here was anything but five star. I have never known a single hotel to even blink at a guest showing up a few minutes before official check-in time. Until this one. Apparently, showing up at 2:37PM meant there were no rooms available because they were "sold out last night", but if I was to come back 23 minutes later, literally the time it would take me to do 5 walking laps around the building, I could have a room. Because that makes sense. When I finally did receive a room 12 hours later at 3AM, it was the kind of room you get if you get the last room in the hotel. First floor, across from the vending machine, within 10 steps of the front lobby. It was like I was being punished for showing up in the middle of the night, even though I had already shown up once before. I could understand if the hotel was sold out again, but there were by my count about a dozen cars in the parking lot when we arrived back in the middle of the night due to NASCAR circumstances beyond our control. And to make things even more insulting, the room was poorly cleaned with SEVERAL disconcerting sticky spots on the carpet. You can probably fill in the blanks with what that may or may not have been. Trying to discuss these matters with management for any restitution for the possible biohazards in my room after the fact has been an absolute nightmare. So to recap, could not have a room because according to them it still needed to be cleaned, and when finally given a room - the room is not clean in arguably the most disgusting way possible. Fantastic. I debated asking the front desk for a room switch (as there were clearly plenty available), but with service like this to start off my stay, why bother. We just wanted to leave ASAP. Judging from some other reviews here it doesn't sound like the rest of the rooms are much better. The room overall is also incredibly dated and in desperate need of an update. The door to the room did not sit correctly, letting in huge amounts of noise and light. Breakfast was missing hot items. And only exists from 7 to 9 AM. The narrowest window I have ever seen at any hotel. I could probably go on. Embarrassing to be a Best Western Rewards Member based on this property. Go somewhere else. Literally anywhere else.

I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got dinner from the Mexican restaurant next door (Panchito's) and had the continental breakfast in the dining area in the morning and both were good. Definitely recommend staying here.

the hotel was clean,customer service was great,close to everything that you want or need,would stay there again. Totally happy with my stay!!!!!!!!! The amusement park name carowinds was almost at your feet, bed was very big and not to soft the mattress. Breakfast was ok need a little more choices to choose from, other than that great stay.

Beware we made rsxp early that morning via phone told them we would be in around 5pm, checked in and they had reserved 2 rooms not one that we requested, front desk did not understand English, got to our room and it was around 100 degrees in the room, took til well after midnight to cool off the room, ice machine did not work, the breakfast they offered was very stale the fruit was very old. we had to find the manger to unlock the lock on the gate to the pool and this was mid day. our good thing to say was its very close to Carowinds, would not stay there again, if you chose this motel in the summer call them and have them turn the room air on, this was a trip to Carowinds for our 2 grandkids 10 and 5yoa.

The hotel was very convenient to Carowinds. The beds were clean and the pool was nice. The rooms are very outdated; the electrical plug in the bathroom did not work; the breakfast was stale and unappealing. We cannot recommend this hotel

had multiple issues at this location. A/C was broken in one room. The desk attendant tried to tell me I was wrong. Got a different room. Had struggles extending my stay for a day. Asked for a late check out. Front desk said 2pm. Then called at 12:15 telling me I was late checking out and implied I was lying to him, the same guy that said 2pm. Went to pack up and take a shower and found the water was off to the entire hotel. There was no notification or warning of this happening.

Hotel is clean, staff friendly, breakfast served, pool open and clean. Bed comfortable I was hesitant because price was lower than I normally pay but it was great ! Staff is always available. Hidden Gem

Clean rooms! Lots of hot water one of the best showers at any hotel. Great location. The staff was helpful and very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone. Definitely great room for the price. Great internet service.

Just a five minute drive from Carowinds, but easy to miss the street, as you have to be in the lane that says it's for the Interstate only. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was okay, including make your own waffle.

Fall Break 2022 was a success! This hotel was very clean. Breakfast was great! Staff was friendly! Very quick check in. Carowinds/Scarowinds was awesome! Will definitely have to return again. Hotel was great!

Checked in, the lady was friendly, but I really couldn't understand what she saying. Same issue with a different lady the next day and man cleaning the breakfast area. Got to room very clean, beds were comfortable and shower was awesome. TV is low on the dresser so you had to hold the remote high in the air to change channel. Cleaning crew was awesome and cleaned the room the next day without asking. You can hear ppl walking on the floor above you, so you you are a light sleepers get the top floor. Breakfast was horrible & cheap. Boiled eggs, bacon, muffins, bread, cereal, and one waffle maker. We went down about 8:30 & pancake was out. Ask them to refill it and they said no. Breakfast was from 6:30 to 9:30, there was an hour left but they refused to refill anything. A lot of people asked about refilling some of the food and they all were told. We always take our grandkids off with us and we pick places to stay that serve breakfast. First and last time just because of the breakfast issues.

Entire hotel has an unpleasant odor including the room . King room with two guests only had 2 bath towels. Picked up more at front desk and was questioned why when we only had two guests. My answer was towels were thin.(True) A/C controls were hard to regulate without room thermostat. Continental breakfast was good.

We had a family emergency and had to leave town. After several calls we gave up trying to request a refund. We will not stay here or BW again. We understand there are cancellation policies - however the hotel has the option to make a refund if they choose to. We called at 8 am to advise we had to leave and we're told they may do it but had to ask the manager. In the end they decided not to.

I was traveling alone and was very leery of doing so. But this hotel made me feel secure and safe! It was in an excellent location with lots of restaurants nearby. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and it was an awesome experience! I highly recommend!

One of the cleanest hotels we've ever stayed at. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast. Easy to find. We'll stay here next year on our way to and from Florida. It's half way and the price was very good.

We had an overnight stay during our travels. The stay was pleasant, bed was comfortable, room smells a little musty but overall a confortable stay durind our travels. Breakfast was simple but ok for a quick bite in the morning. Good value for the price.

Quick two day trip from CT to SC to celebrate my uncles' 90th birthday. Got in late after flight delays, very helpful front desk, got us into our rooms in minutes....so we could go out and eat. Very clean hotel, efficient crew, clean room and grounds. Right off I-77, about 20 minutes from Charlotte A/P.

When my American Airline flight from Charlotte was canceled, they put us up in this hotel overnight. The hotel was quiet, my room was very clean, bed was comfy, and my child had no complaints. The bathroom was very clean, ceiling was clean/ freshly painted, no mold, scum, or hair. They have a simple continental breakfast, glad it was free and no complaints. The overnight manager was understanding and nice. If I was in the area I would use again. Thank you

Do not try to pay your bill with a BW Gift Card. Do not try to take a swim in the pool. Do not expect to sit in the breakfast area and eat any food. Do not expect to find any edible food to eat . Expect to go elsewhere the next time you are in the Ft Mills Area of SC

The location is convenient to everything in the area! Plus, we stayed on a Tuesday night and it was very quiet. The hotel staff at check-in and check-out were fantastic! They both told us if we needed anything to let them know!

Worse Business trip ever! I stayed here and the employees smoke marijuana, management is rude to other cultures, and murders/crimes right next door (crimes at this hotel) a lot more I could say but stay at your own risk

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel whatsoever. Everything was sparkling clean. I've stayed in many hotels this year and not have been as clean as this one. Usually I go in the room with a bottle of hospital grade cleaning solution and wipe down everything before I bring any of my stuff inside the room. I didn't feel the need to do so here. The only downside is that they still have the stupid modified breakfast, if you're concerned about the virus you may think this is a good thing however I don't see how people still going to the same area and touching the same things slows the spread of the virus. The only difference is that the hotel saves money on prepackage breakfast and the guests eat a cold breakfast instead of a hot one

Stayed here one night after visiting Carowinds and this place is very nice. Clean, quiet, cozy, comfortable beds. Front desk staff are pleasant. And got for a great price. I'd definitely stay here again.

I stayed overnight at the Best Western in Fort Mill, SC. The facility was very nice. The room was very clean and looked great. Friendly staff and close to restaurants and gas stations. I highly recommend!

Off the beaten path...lovely quiet hotel. Comfortable, clean room..staff was execellent, friendly and even recommended restaurants to us which was excellent! Greeting and thanked us for staying! Price was a true value, definitely would stay again. My only recommendation is...stray dog problem around hotel

Not a bad hotel. It is off the road more and quieter which is nice. The staff was friendly. I wish the rooms were a little bigger but it was nice enough and clean. I wouldnt mind staying again. I am in the area a good bit.

Stopped here on my way to Pennsylvania. At first, I was pleased that the gentleman who checked me in suggested I book online for the best rate. However, the next morning the woman at the desk would not print out a receipt for me. The hotel gave me a better price, yet I reserved the room online so I wanted a receipt in case there was a problem in the future. So- no receipt. AND- that evening, after checking me in, the gentleman (?) at the desk tried getting into my room. Are you kidding me? He knew the room was occupied! Not pleased after all.

Room was c lose to an outside door. It seemed that the door was opened & closed every 20 min. All we smelled was pot & there was a large sticky spot on the rug near the bathroom. The bed was comfortable.

Amenities are all you could ask for great value and kind helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone on a budget wanting value and class.internet and television worked great had no issues while staying here. Enjoyed it and so will you.

In town overnight from out of state. The gentleman booking us in must have been new as he seemingly had difficult in getting the process completed. When I asked if he needed my Best Western number he said he already had it so I ceased offering even though I knew he didn't. When I asked abut the fitness center he did not seem to understand what I was asking about until a co-worker told me it was outside by the pool. Not sure if it was a language barrier or lack of comprehension. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The ice machine is located on the first floor so floors 2 & 3 must descend to floor 1 to get ice. The fitness center was in a building at one end of the outdoor pool and was accessed by entering the pool's fence gate. The weight machine seemed designed more for the home/personal gym and the leg lift bar extended into the pedal area of one of the bikes. The complimentary breakfast was basic but adequate. Items were restocked by the receptionist doing double duty, but she did know how to get things done correctly and was helpful. For guests desiring water to drink find the water fountain in the hall!

Easy Check-in, fair price. Super convenient to Carowinds. A REAL continental breakfast buffet. Both my Summer & Winter visits met my expectations. All the staff, from the check-in/out clerks, housekeeping, and breakfast room attendant were competent and friendly. Will return went visiting Carowinds again.

Our stay was good. The remodeled bathroom looked nice, and the high-flow shower was a pleasure to use. Minor complaint: no towels available at the pool; you had to ask the front desk for one. Slightly bigger complaint: the exercise room was well over a hundred degrees, so it was unusable.

The walls were paper thin, we could hear or neighbor breathing. Made it very awkward to even talk. They snored so loudly we couldn't sleep at all. Then there were kids running around above our heads at the break of dawn. There was hair in our bed when we first arrived and hair and sticky stuff I didn't want to identify in the bathtub.

I was completely satisfied with the room! The beds were clean, the bathroom was spotless, the room felt cozy. I can honestly say that we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Carowinds.

Clean, Well Maintained, You would thing it is a new property but it is not. Good location to Charlotte and Airport if your on a budget. Great Rates, easy on/off Interstate! It's a very quite loaction if you need to get some good rest!

After my last hotel I was leary about staying at one of the local hotels. But I didn't want to judge all the hotels on one. I explained my situation to Elizabeth and she let me check the room also she told me they had new matresses and curtains. Elizabeth was a dream. She made sure I was ok and even the next day she made sure I got rest and I was ok. The bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely clean. The breakfast was very good and hot. The night clerk was nice and asked if I needed anything. I woiuld recommend this hotel to all.

The room was excellent. They had new mattresses and curtains. Elizabeth was very helpful and made sure I was happy with the room. I had a very bad experience the night before at another hotel and she wanted to make sure it wasn't there.

They SUCK! The owner is not friendly and the staff at the desk wasn't professional. My family will NEVER stay at another Best Western. Even after talking to their corporate office they did nothing because they are individually owned. So what is the purpose of having it. NOTHING

Front desk staff are required to photocopy your drivers license (or another official picture ID). Drivers licenses should not be photocopied because someone could impersonate you with the information. I understand examining the license and verifying the name on the card if you have a high rate of credit card theft, but it should not be photocopied. Staff could photocopy multiple times overnight or take a picture of it with a phone. Also the image is stored in the hard drive of the printer; yes printers have hard drives where this info could subsequently be stolen from. Front desk staff called a manager at my request, but she insisted upon copying it. It was after the reservation cancellation deadline, so i had little choice. Risk of identity theft, using your license for an auto accident, health insurance, or one form of identity for opening a bank account or credit card. While this may help track down thieves, it puts the general public at risk. They should know better. I will not return.

I arrived at 2:30. The young lady did not look up from her phone to even attempt to check me in. When I request to be checked in she stated' check in is not till 3'. I've stay at many hotels and usually have no problem with checking in earlier if there is room. This young lady did not even bother to check to see if there are room available. Breakfast selections are very limited, and they refuse to refill food when it is out, even when guest request food refills.

Check-in, the price & location were good. Breakfast, what we could get was good, but they ran out of eggs, bacon & milk 40 minutes before closing. To make it worse, the frond desk clerk was also serving breakfast, they need to get more help. Otherwise, the experience was good.

At 1:15pm on a weekday off-season slow time for the hotel I asked if I could check in early...if there was an available room. Yes, the desk clerk responded but there would be a $25 charge for early check-in. Seems it's this hotel's practice. When I had her go check with the manager then it got waived. Buyer be ware?

The room was still dirty when we checked in and dirty towels were left in our sink. The bathroom floor was not mopped. The A/C was unsatisfying and didn't keep the room cooler than outside. Housekeeping was still cleaning the rooms later in the day when they should have been done earlier.

it is a very good hotel in a good location. I did not dine for lack of time but the rest is good. large parking, swimming pool. but the reception has no interpretation for francophones it's good for family vacations considering the location of the game park at some meter

Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Carowinds. Super convenient location as it's right across the street from the park and only takes a couple of minutes to get there. Plenty of restaurants and stuff very close by. Hotel was nice, super clean and our room was very clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Clean and comfortable, excellent friendly hotel staff, understanding of the children being tired - staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Checking only took 5 minutes max, check out less than 1 minute. Will stay here when visiting Carowinds again. The hotel is hard to find as we did not see any markings and is blocked by trees and other building, but is behind the Culver's restaurant - Google Maps knows where it is :)

As a loyal Best Western customer this hotel ranks pretty low on any list. The pictures posted are deceiving. First off the motel is at the end of a dead end on a questionable block. Nothing within a short walk either. As for the rooms they are adequate nothing more, they are in need of an upgrade. At breakfast there was no personal cleaning up the area or putting out fresh food. In my opinion there are much better options in the area.

We love this hotel. Always friendly staff. They help in any way they can. It's very clean. The breakfast is great. And the pool is our favorite thing! We won't stay anywhere else when in the area. We stay to go to Carowinds. It's right across the Surr street. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone..

Great place to stay. a very friendly staff. Easy access off and onto the interstate. Good value,nice clean rooms and a very good breakfast. We will stop there again next year on our next trip to Florida .

This place may look good from the outside but definitely hiding its low personality. The night shift clerk really needs lessons in how to deal with people. Unfriendly to say the least and dont dare ask her anything as it appears to bother her. Dont expect the breakfast to open on time either, it doesnt!. Rooms are for the most part clean but I wont leave my suitcase open out of fear of roaches. Doors to the rooms have excess space around them suggesting they could be opened with ease without a key. Housekeeping staff needs English lessons. I have a choice where I stay and this place isn't one of them.

Rough start but good ending. Thankfully staff that knows how to treat guests came on duty before we left and made the visit better. Arrival was rough - rude staff, ignored by check in desk/owner. At least the property was clean.

I cannot directly blame Best Western Carowinds for the troubles with the booking. I made the reservation with Delta Vacations, which booked smoking rooms instead of non-smoking rooms. And, despite my calling them - twice (a month out and the day before, and paying a last minute change fee to ensure that the rooms were non-smoking) - we still ended up with one of our rooms as a smoking room. It was Carowinds' opening weekend, so of course they were full. I do not blame Best Western for that. But the title of this review involves roaches, and I was greeted by one in the bathroom on our second day - while I was sitting on the toilet. It scurried into the bathroom from under the door. Thankfully, there was an ashtray in the bathroom so I could capture the little bugger, finish my business, and get out of there to find a shoe to smash the thing. I left its dead carcass on a paper towel for management and housekeeping to see. It remained where I left it for the duration of the trip (housekeeping didn't remove it, management never spoke to us about it). Also, a random issue - the shower curtain rod was broken in my room in such a way that the shower curtain would not remain fully closed. Never again.

The place isn't the best decorated/renovated. It is however clean. The cleaning staff did a phenomenal job with keeping the rooms clean, changing bedding and towels. The fitness center is gross. Breakfast is not great either but overall I would recommend this place! I think it needs some renovations and it could be a very popular hotel.

We stay here every winter on our way south & this place is one of our favourite stops with a lovely entrance, great service and nice clean attractive rooms. No different this year and the comp breakfast is always welcome.

This hotel was hard to find, not marked very well. The restaurant has a very small breakfast area which seems crowded with 10 people there. Also the person stocking it disappeared for 20 minutes, options were limited

Reception was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and bright. The beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. It is conveniently placed off of Hwy 77 south in Fort Mills SC when you are travelling.

Disappointed in cleanliness of hotel and unable to use fitness center. Found cockroach in room and bed way too soft. The floor in the breakfast area hadn't been cleaned from the day before. Very disgusting.

Stayed one night when passing thru on the way back from Florida (8 hour drive from our jumping off point). Nice place to stay at a decent price. Big Screen TV was nice bonus. Everything worked as it should & cleanliness was good. Nothing to complain about... A bit tricky to find, but that's not really the hotels fault...

This hotel was 2 minutes from my local conference. The hotel was clean, and the front desk service was excellent. The High-Speed Internet was fast (no latency issues). The front desk manager was especially courteous. The check-in/check-out process was seamless. A definite place to check out for local stays.

Picked the hotel because it was close to our business meeting. Front desk was friendly and helpful. If you have to stay for a short period it is alright for me. Room is clean and everything you need is available. Breakfast is in the lobby. There is not a lot to choose from and you have to eat with plastic fork, knife and plate.

very clean comfortable Best Western. Close to many things. We were having a business meeting then passing thru so we only spent one night. I would definitely come back. Amusement park is just across the road so if your going there stay here. reasonable price that won't break your wallet.

A little outdated hotel, but the bed was very comfortable. There were smoking rooms, so there might be cigarettes smell in the hallway. The non smoking room smells fresh, no cigarette smell at all. Other than outdated look of the hotel and the room, the room is pretty clean. Overall very good for the price.

This location is across the street from Carowinds and the staff was exceptionally helpful. My check in information was completed before I arrived including room keys. I only needed to sign the necessary form.

The sign for the hotel had fallen down which made it hard to find. But it was a decent hotel. The room was a fair size, clean, comfy bed (although terrible pillows). Breakfast was very good for a Continental Breakfast - there was actually real bacon, although the egg wasn't great - but lots of other choices, so above average.

I just spent 3 days at a Best Western in Hickory. Business delayed my return home so I booked a night here to get a head start the next day. Rate was good. Front desk was courteous. It went downhill from there. My room was near the front lobby and opposite the vending machines. Next door is the housekeeping room. I was too tired to complain about the location so I stayed and hoped for the best. There has been some noise and I hope that doesn't continue through the night. I am hearing someone talking now. I was unable to join the WiFi network. I know how to do it, I joined at the previous BW. The directions in the guest services pamphlet had been torn out. It's minor, but the bath towels weren't folded nicely as they usually are and the sheets were on inside out. It left me wondering about how well the housekeeping had been done. I even smelled the towels and pulled down the sheets to check the cleanliness. My final concern was the gap in the door frame. This room should be offered to guests as a last resort. Had I been told this was the only room available I'd have gone elsewhere.

Traveling through the area while traveling I called about 2 hours before arriving and booked the room. Staff on phone was friendly and helpful. The front desk folks were great. Room was comfortable and clean. This looks to be a newer hotel. The only issue that I saw was the fitness room was not open in the early AM, 4:30, when I wanted to use it before traveling on. The fitness center is entered off the outside pool area that is locked at night and does not open until 9:30AM.The desk person did open it so that I could use it. Just a little inconvenient. Other than that a nice place to stay.

I booked a room through booking.com, paid through booking.com and received confirmation number. Arrived to check in to be told my front desk clerk reservation was canceled “due to credit card decided”. Immediately called Booking.com who confirmed reservation was still active and they called best western Carowins. We had to relocate to another hotel. Highly upset how this was handled by Best western Carowins who complainely lied about their apparent overbooking and shifted the blame onto me and my credit card! The manager repeatedly told me she “just got there around 3pm and didn't know what was going on” . Terribly customer service and will never recommend anyone use your hotels!!!

I only choose this hotel after reading reviews about how wonderful the employees were. I can only assume those employees were on vacation during my stay. everyone I encountered gave the impression that I was bothering them. I will not be back to this location.

If you book this as an express deal you'll get hosed. Booked room on Priceline. Website clearly said 2 kids sleep free. Got there, up-charged an additional $30. Informed by the staff that this crooked game happens daily. Spoke to managers at BW and Priceline. Everyone had plenty of apologies, but no one willing to take responsibility for the ole bait and switch tactic. Guess I learned my lesson this time. CROOKS!!!

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel while visiting the Carowinds amusement park. The hotel was fantastic and met all of our needs and beyond. The location, service, quality of rooms, and value were all great. Will definitely stay here again when back in the area. Awesome job!!!

Clean pleasant faility and a professional staff. A value for the money. A little hard to find the motel as it is behind the KFC outlet. The location is worth looking for. Plenty of restaurants in the area

This hotel was nice and clean. The room was comfortable. Communication prior to arrival could have been better and this is the only thing that prevented me from giving this place 5 stars. The breakfast was decent as well. It is located close to Carowinds amusement park. I would stay here again. The price was very good as well.

Was woken up at 4am from very noisy people in the hallway. The construction of the building is wood so you can hear everything in the rooms above you. The room was very clean and amenties were pretty good.

This isn't a luxury hotel but it's a bargain. I got a quiet, nicely furnished room with a comfortable bed, seemingly upscale linens, a decent size TV and a full hot breakfast for a very reasonable price. I'm not sure what else I'd be looking for that they didn't have. I don't really have a comment on the "service" because in a hotel like this it's almost irrelevant. I was checked in competently and didn't need anything else. One warning...this hotel is ridiculously difficult to find. They don't have a visible sign!! You can be a couple hundred yards away and still have no idea where it is, even if you're on the right road. I didn't know which building it was until I was finally in their parking lot. How weird is that? Otherwise, I recommend it.

This was a hotel which relies wholly on the fact they're very close to the amusement park. The computer and sitting area was up a flight of steps not accessible to the elevator or those who can't climb. There was no bench or chairs to sit outside and enjoy weather. No coffee except at breakfast time. In short no little extras that might make a difference in enjoying your stay. Bed was just OK. No pleasantries with the staff.

Located right off the highway, but it is hidden from view. Once we found the motel we were warmly greeted at check in by the receptionist. Our King Suite was good size, clean and well decorated. The bed provided us with a good night's sleep. Breakfast was great with a variety of cold and hot items to include waffles, bacon and scrambled eggs. Definitely was worth the stop on our trip.

Nice & clean, some minor maintenance issues in the bath. Water leaking from the tub spigot! The desk clerk offered another room, but we were all unpacked. She told me they didn't know if no one reports it. So always report anything not working!

I booked the room online with my credit card as I always do then when I arrive I always pay in CASH. Upon asking to pay for the room in CASH, I was told my credit card had already been run, before I even arrived? Ummm OK?? I was then told they could refund my credit card and I could pay for the room in CASH, but I would have to pay an additional $150 in CASH for incidentals,(The reasoning was they didn't know how much room I had left on my credit card) I was only staying 1 night and it was just me and my 18 year old daughter. I had been on the road since 5AM that morning and it was now 6PM so I told them to just leave it on the credit card and I would pay for it when I got home. Upon entering the room I heard water running, the bath tub faucet was steady running. I was so exhausted I just threw a towel in the tub and let it run, trust me I tried to turn it off, would not turn off. Upon checking in I asked about using my Triple A and AARP and was assured both were on file, then they asked to make a copy of my drivers license, this struck me as very odd. My husband had just stayed in a BW in Daytona, FL for the entire week and they asked to see his upon arrival, but never made a copy of it. We have stayed at lots of BW's and they have always asked to see our license but never made a copy of it, so this struck me as VERY odd. I did get a good nights sleep, but upon checking out I asked again about the Triple A and AARP and was told you could only use one of them at that BW. That sure wasn't the story I was told the night before. I then mentioned the full blown leaking faucet, the girl did apologize, but I could tell she could care less and I'm sure it is still leaking to this very minute as I'm sure she told no one. The internet was AWFUL! My daughter is going to be a student at Winthrop University for the next 4 years and we love staying at BW for their point system, but I can assure you we will be finding another chain hotel to stay at when we go to see her, will not be staying at this hotel again.

The hotel was very nice with modern appliances. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. The only thing negative I experienced was the couple in the next room were quite very loud and we could hear ever sound in addition to their conversation. We were in a connecting rooms and the walls are thin. We heard every conversation and activities that was going on in that room. Also, the breakfast bar put out a little bit of food at a time so If you weren't there when they first served, you may not get some of the food. Other than that, our stay was great. I would stay again.

We enjoyed our two night stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good, although the area in the lobby where it is available is small and there are not seats for many people. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area. We ask for clean, quiet and comfortable and this was all of those.

Near Charlotte and where the Carolinas merge, we stopped at Fort Mill, SC to stay at the Best Western Carowinds. Apparently there is an amusement park here but we were more concerned about heading south to Hilton Head. Our room was spacious with HD TV with HBO®, a single serve coffee maker, a chair, a desk and more. The complimentary breakfast included bacon, eggs, waffles, cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries and juice. Dining area was open with view through glass windows. The king bed was comfy, the room clean and inviting. We would gladly stay here again.

Beware, this hotel has smoking rooms. Smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms are on the third floor. We were assigned to a non-smoking room on the third floor. As soon as the elevator doors opened on the third floor, the smoke odor was awful! We immediately went back to the front desk and asked for a room not on the third floor. The clerk said that there were no other rooms available. So, I said that that we were not staying and to cancel my reservation. The clerk then said that we could get a room on the second floor. We went to this room and did not smell any smoke odor. The room was average and the free continental breakfast was below average. We will not stay in this hotel again.

The room was fine. I felt like I was bothering them by checking in. The policy noted in an earlier review of copying driver's licenses is unsecure and a deal-breaker for me. (The morning desk clerk said they were told to do it by the sherriff's department and that it was the law. I can find no law that requires this.) The hallway on the 3rd floor smelled of smoke but the room did not.

Was very welcomed when we checked in. The person in charge remembered us from previous stays. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Everything was very clean and the breakfast had everything that a restaurant would have. Would stay there again.

Except for the tobacco odor on the second floor, the quality of the accommodations was fine. The breakfast was a bit sub-par and there was little coffee when we went there. Unfortunately the overpowering tobacco smell ruined our stay here.

Staff was very helpful. Room was comfortable and had a small frig and microwave. I used the treadmill in the fitness center, but couldn't get the TV in there to work. Breakfast included bacon, eggs, waffles, cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries and juice.

I was disappointed that before the end of breakfast the coffee was already cold. It would have been nice to have coffee offered all day long considering the cold temperatures. The room was clean and comfortable and I felt that housekeeping were the friendliest of all the staff. The girls behind the front desk never smiled. I was also promised an email receipt which I'm still waiting for even after a day and a half after checking out.

This is a nice Best Western hotel - clean and well located. A real hotel with inside room entrances - not a refurbished motel. The rooms are fairly large and well laid out. The breakfast area is cramped and should be re-arranged. Breakfast selection is so-so, but adequate. I would stay there again.

Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Room well kept. Amenities although did not use. Would return again. Haven stayed with Best Western for eight years and have had no bad experience with any of their pre-owned hotels. Encourage all of them to accept pets. They are a part of the family and more and more people will not kennel their dogs and want them with you. After all of the hotels we have stayed at, our favorite is the Best Western in Caldwell, ID. Linda, the manager and her staff knows our needs, wants and makes certain that everything is in place prior to our arrival. A beautiful place with their new addition and a staff that you can't compare. We hope that you will acknowledge her because she knows the business and is the most nicest person one would want to encounter in upon check-in.

Great stay very comfortable. We will be back to bring the grand kids to Carowinds. They are very excited. This Best Western is across the street from Carowinds. My grand children love theme parks and enjoy all the rides. Their favorite is roller coasters.

It was a refreshing change to be greeted, helped, and checked in by a very efficient, very cheerful, & very appreciative staffer at this Best Western. Delight to sleep in a meticulously cleaned room where even the light switches didn't have a trace that anyone else had ever stayed there, and the towels were a clean, bright white with no trace of dinginess!

Internet didnt work, business center not accessible for handicapped, breakfast is minimal. Breakfast is open for 3 hours but spills on florr occuring at opening are not cleaned up until closing! Internet came and went so many times I finally gave up! I have a two broken vertebrae in my back and the business center is on the lobby balcony accessed by only by a flight of steps. Seemed like no one really cared if my trip was enjoyed or not. Its a shame, right down I75 at Woodlawn about 10 miles is a great Best Western Hotel where everyone greets you and wants to make certain your stay is pleasant.

Tucked out of the way by Carowinds, the hotel is very convenient if your are working in South Charlotte. The room is very clean, breakfast is good and the staff has been very friendly. First nights room was next to the elevator, which was a little noisy, but not much foot traffic on the night I stayed. Overall not a big problem. WifI was also very good. Stayed a second week and will probably book it again if I have to return. Good value.

Driving from Canada to Florida, we selected this hotel perfectly located on just south of Charlotte. It was very close to the Interstate for quick exit in the morning! The front desk staff (Tina) was excellen, friendly, professional. The hotel was nicely situated in off the highway....quiet. The hotel itself is one of the nicer Best Western hotels that we have stayed in over the years. Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast offered a good selection. Will stay here again!

It was hard finding the hotel... the room was expensive for only one night.. inside the room was pretty poor on decorations. Other then those few incidents the room was pretty fair. Enjoyed my stay. Thanks

Friendly staff. Although it was only her third day of work, we found Sierra to be extremely helpful and responsive to our needs. She did a great job. She was very friendly. Hard to believe she had just started working there. The rooms were nice and clean. The bathroom was larger than most hotels. Quite comfortable stay.

We travel back and forth to Florida twice a year. This is a great place to stay. Easy access off and onto the highway. Wonderful staff. Always a clean room and a great breakfast. Will return next year.

Clean hotel, breakfast was good needs to be attended more often to refill, on the second day we had to ask the front attendant for coffee and cups and we had to open the cabinet drawers to find the syrup for the waffles

This was a very nice looking hotel. Rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was kinda lame. I didn't get to check out the fitness center because it didn't open till 10 which wasn't very helpful, checkout is at 11. It was very conveniently located near Carowinds that was a plus. For the value it was a very nice stay.

Hotel seemed great until I pulled the covers back at 11:00 pm the night before our run. The sheets were dirty. They had not been changed. My bed had hair and a piece of popcorn in it. There is no excuse for this at all!! I went downstairs and asked front desk for a clean set. Very nice about it. I was going to change them myself. There were no clean sheets to be found. She called the owner. He told her a few places to look. Wouldn't you think a hotel would have enough sheets? After going to a room behind the kitchen, she came back with a bag. I got back upstairs and there was a top sheet in there and 8 pillow cases. After that I asked about moving to another room. She said they were completely book. (There was no one in any of the rooms around us.) In my second trip down, She found another bag of sheets . So, after midnight, I'm finally getting clean sheets for the bed and trying to get to sleep only to get up very early the next morning for the run. I'm asking for a full refund. Front desk says that was a decision the owner would have to make. I will never stay in a Best Western again especially at the Carowinds location!!

Definitely recommend this well run property for people visiting Carowinds just across the road. Clean and comfortable rooms- friendly professional staff. Tina graciously replenished breakfast items even at cut-off time 9:30 a.m. and asked me if I wanted extra tea bags for my room. Tina and friendly Shane were able to provide me with a room upgrade-perhaps because I have stayed there several times and shall again in the future. Reasonable prices-highly recommend this. Comfortable and convenient for our puposes (Carowinds). Close to the interstate and several fast food options. Courteous staff and good breakfast. Older facility but well kept. Smallish rooms and okay pool.

Stayed here for one night. Got in late, check in was fast and efficient. Carpeting was worn throughout, giving the hotel a worn look. Room and bathroom were clean. Wifi was a bit slow but serviceable and free. Breakfast was ok. Easy on and off the interstate. Got a good deal online, glad I didn't pay full price. Overall, a good experience, nothing great.

Had a reservation via expedia for Sunday/Monday nights. Arrived Saturday; the front desk handled my situation w/no problem, assuring me I'd have the same room all 3 nights. Pool and pool area is very clean, quiet and inviting. My room was large, very clean. I'd stay here anytime

The facility was convenient and very clean. We had an amazing time and the staff members were very pleasant. We will definitely stay with Best Western again when we travel. The breakfast was very good.

Hotel was current and rooms were nice however WiFi was terrible. They cut breakfast off at 9:30 am sharp to the point of locking everything up even if you are in the middle of buttering your bread.. Nice room....staff not very friendly

Not a 5 star but a great little place to stay near carowinds. Property was clean, staff great, room adequate. Breakfast took care of hunger. For price it is a great place to stay close to charlotte and carowinds.

won't be staying at this or any other best western hotels in the future. at check-in they insisted they needed a copy of my driver's license. NOPE ! I've stayed at many hotels over the last several years and some have asked to see photo ID to verify my identity, but none have tried to photocopy it. With identity theft so common, what's to keep someone on their staff using my info dishonestly? Guess I'll be staying at Hampton Inn or Marriott in the future.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. We stayed here last year and now I remember why I wanted to book again, Rooms are spacious, clean, shower is good. Breakfast has some extra touches, nutella, honey, large supply of fresh fruit. Very pleased

No problems at all. The people were Nice but did not say Anything about being a rewards member would get me 10 dollars per night as a summer promotion. Didn't know until I went to my next one in Charleston. Nice to be so close to Carowinds. Breakfast was ok except the pre-made gross eggs were not done and just gross.

We stopped here for the night because it was the least expensive only $80 with AAA. Room was nice, staff was friendly at check in. Shower had actual water pressure! Have no complaints about this hotel.

Rate was too high for this hotel. It was okay, but not worth $148/night. If you are going to Carrowinds it will do for the convenience of being close, but for business, or anything else, there are better options.

Don't try to complain to manager because there isn't one and the owners are rude and don't care anyways. A couple ladies at the front desk are very helpful and try to make things better but without a manager or owners that care it's hard for them to do anything about the cleaning staff

The staff is great! The floors and walls are thin and you can hear people stomping above you, kids running and screaming through the halls, and people slamming doors. No coffee 24/7 like we are used to. Breakfast bar leaves a lot to be desired. The internet is the fastest we've ever seen in any hotel!

A decent hotel with "normal" sized hotel rooms. There are 3 floors but even so the elevator seems to be the method folks use to get from one floor to another. So if you want to sleep avoid the rooms x18 or x19, as they are next to the darned thing. May also wish to avoid x17 as that will have the workings noise too. This might sound like it is a small thing but at 11pm when folks are coming back all noisy you will realise what I mean. Plenty of parking but not much in the way of eating places within walking distance. Breakfast is a bit lower grade than some but you can make waffles, plenty of cereal etc. The "hot" food seems to be usually egg flapjacks and bacon. The seating area is quite small for a hotel of this size so choose your time carefully. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

My mom, daughter, and I stayed here for three nights for our annual girls trip. We were very impressed with this hotel for the following reasons: super clean, very quiet, extremely safe area, awesome pool, two turns and you're at Carowinds, many conveniences within walking distance of the hotel. We will be back next year for certain. Our only suggestion is that there should be complimentary coffee, tea, and ice water left in the lobby. The small coffee maker in our room wasn't working.

We stopped here on our way to florida for one night; nice place but our room was next to the elevator & it was very noisy. Breakfast was great and so was the wifi; this hotel is located kinda of hidden but it was nice.

Our room was very nice, comfortable bed. But the wall shared with the elevator was so noisy we had trouble sleeping with earplugs. When we left early the next morning not that many cars in the parking lot and since it was a Thursday night and Carowinds was not open, not really sure why we got that room. Upon checking out I mentioned it and the desk person could have cared less. We stayed at many hotels this trip and this was the only bad one.

Even though the hotel was difficult to find and the reception was not friendly, the room was heaven sent. It was extremely well done, CLEAN, and spacious. It was an excellent experience after traveling in poor weather, heavy traffic and 12 hours.

I have stayed here several times before and it has always been clean and friendly. It is very convenient to I77 and there are many food choices within walking distance........Ice Cream and gasoline too!!!

Nice updated rooms. Less than a mile from Carowinds. Free breakfast with waffles, cereal, eggs, bagels. Very quiet. Clean. Easy parking. I would stay here again. Great water pressure in shower. Comfy bed.

We were southbound on I-77 and took the west loop of I-485 to get around Charlotte and even at the height of rush hour it went smoothly. The BW was situated about a mile south of the loop just off I-77. Easy off and easy on and put us south of Charlotte so we had no traffic problems in the morning. Typical hotel and was clean, good staff and had no problems. Would recommend it for a stay.

Everything was good except that housekeeping didn't complete cleaning the room before moving on to the next room. Had housekeeping issues every day of our stay. Amaris at the front desk was very helpful and caring. The Internet connection was HORRIBLE. I wasn't able to use the WiFi hardly at all.

If you want a place to stay that is close to Carowinds then this is a good option. It was 1.7 miles from the park or turn left at the first light and right at the second light. The breakfast area could have been a little larger since it was crowded one of the two days we ate breakfast at the hotel. Another day I went to a restaurant instead.

Smoking was allowed on the third floor, it was passed to the floors below via the bathroom. The room was filled with the smell of smoke. It bothered me during the night, I am allergic to the smoke. We called the front desk and was told there were no other rooms, not that would have helped.

If you are looking for a bed to sleep in this place is OK. Don't expect breakfast to be anything but awful. They really only had bacon and it was raw and tasteless. Really surprised as normally BW has a decent breakfast which is why I stay at their hotels. Cross this one off your list. Had to ask for the cool cabinet with the cream cheese to be unlocked even though it was already well after 6 and breakfast starts at 6. Really a bad experience.

I stay here often whenever I come to town. I have a Carowinds season pass so it's very convenient to get to Carowinds with a store next store and Walmart 7 minute drive down the street. It's also 15 minutes away from Uptown Charlotte.

I stayed 7 days The rooms were clean, breakfast very basic, desk staff pleasant. The last 2 nights had trouble sleeping room above sounded like movers were re doing the furniture from 10-2pm. Morning we were leaving alarm went off in room next door at 5:50am. I called front desk they said they could not go in room as occupied. The alarm was going 1 and 1/2 hours so cannot believe it was occupied, we decided to leave early.

location and ease of use is the most important things when traveling to Ft Mill. clean and friendly and overall great value. i will always stay at this hotel when visiting my customers in SC. Area has good value for dining and entertainment

We have been on a Best Western kick lately with our overnight stays. Chain wide updates are good and have had great luck with very helpful staff. Here, Elizabeth was able to jot down the number for a local pizza place that delivered... a big help for out of towners who prefer to avoid the chains.

I had plans to attend a four day conference at All Nations Church in Fort Mill. My husband and I packed up our belongings and left town just as Hurricane Matthew was approaching. Having a reservation long before people needed to get out of harms way was fortunate for us. We have not been allowed to return home as of yet. But having a safe haven during this horrible storm was the peace of mind we needed for the extra work that we may have to face when we are allowed to return.

This was a last minute decision. Hurricane Hermine was between me and home, crossing my path. I couldn't drive through all the torrential rain and winds so I made the decision to stopped and stayed in a safe place. I knew of this Best Western and made the reservation early morning and drove down. The last hour of driving was white knuckles on the steering wheel. I was great to be the "family" of Best Western employees. The staff was very accommodating. I knew that was in a safe place. Best decision Ever!

The hotel is very nice but for two things: They don't honor the Harley Owners Group (HOG) membership discount which is a benefit we owners get at Best Westerns. As a result I look for them on the road, but I wouldn't go back to this one because for whatever reason they choose not to affiliate with HOG. The other problem was the awful continental "breakfast". It was nothing but plastic packs of cereal and some sort of lame waffle mix with cheap artificial syrup, minimal fruit, bad bacon, and luke-warm coffee. Too bad because the hotel is nice and clean, everything worked, had a lot of TV channels, and a great staff. Also, there's nowhere to eat around there except a burger joint. But the worst part was the lack of a decent breakfast.

If we checked in at Ten PM we would understand that our request printed on our confirmation might be tough to honor. However, we checked in before 3 PM and were told that only smoking rooms were available. The scent wasn't too bad but it was there and as we packed to go home we noticed that the smoke got into our clothing and was coming home with us. Also a small problem with housekeeping. The Pails had been emptied but left in the middle of the floor no amenities replenished on day two and bath towels were not replenished. All of this was dealt with when we reported it to the front desk. The location is good, the staff very responsive, and the free Bkfast was fine.

This hotel is back off of the road, and it's a little sketchy feeling back in there. The outside of the hotel was nice and well kept, and the parking lot was well lit. We checked in and as we walked to our room noticed that we were smelling smoke. The front desk had a sign about no smoking in the rooms, but it was obvious that people were currently smoking in the hotel. Our room even had two ashtrays, obviously indicating that the hotel was okay with people smoking in there. The room smelled of old smoke, but otherwise was clean. We did see cigarette burns in the comforter on the bed. The jacuzzi tub in the room wasn't in working order, but my husband fixed it and we were able to use it during our stay. The fridge and tv worked well. There was a microwave in the room, but we had no reason to use it. The towels were thin and scratchy. The bedding was acceptable. We did find the bed to be really comfortable though! The continental breakfast was nice - make your own waffles, hot bacon, refrigerated hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurt, packages pastries, juice, coffee. The coffee was fresh and good. Overall, it was an okay stay, but we wouldn't choose to stay there again. The smoke make our throats itchy, and we don't want to stay in a hotel that allows smoking in the rooms. It was close to Carowinds, though, so for some it would be convenient.

This hotel was a step up from where I stayed (Econolodge at Carowinds, no longer in business) when I visited Carowinds last year. I would say that it's a case of getting what you pay for. Staff was extremely helpful and the room was immaculate. It even had a small living room with sofa and table outside the bedroom. I've stayed at a number of hotels at which there were problems such as the toilet not flushing properly but experienced none of these at the Best Western. The complimentary breakfast was fine although the waffle iron didn't work as well as I would have hoped, so that the waffles were underheated and had to be dug out from the appliance. My only real complaint is that this hotel does not offer its own shuttle service to Carowinds - and the young lady at the desk was unaware that a local taxi service would take up to 6 guests to Carowinds for $20 round trip. She gave me the number of a local taxi service which turned out to be a real ripoff, as the driver who picked me up at Carowinds charged me $15 to go .08 miles. Other than that my stay was fine and this hotel has a nice computer desk a short flight of stairs up from the reception desk, so that I was able to print out my boarding pass and download an on-ride photo taken at Carowinds. It was also quiet and the air conditioning was actually on when I checked in, so that I didn't have to do anything to make the room comfortable in the extreme heat. One of the reasons I chose this hotel is that it was the only one I could find close to Carowinds that offers smoking rooms.

Love this place and their staff. Always friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean. I have stayed here many times and will continue to return. So glad they went back to having smoking rooms. This is my place to stay when I am in this area.

Brought my granddaughter and her friend to Carowinds for her 8th birthday weekend. Disappointed by the park but the Best Western was great. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Perfect location right across from the park.

Visited family in Rock Hill. Good price compared to those a little closer to our destination. The room was very clean and bed was super comfortable-pillows a little too soft for our liking. Slept like a log! Complimentary breakfast was plentiful. Minor complaint-breakfast from 6:30-9:30. Would have liked to sleep in a little longer-maybe leave it out until 10:30-11:00. Staff also friendly and helpful.

Good price and location. We have stayed here several times and while it needs some remodeling, I hope they don't upgrade to compete with the fancy hotels. For example, it still has a fan in the bathroom to prevent mold due to steam. It still has vending machines as opposed to hotel store. It would be cool if the vending machine/ washer and dryer took credit cards. Decent breakfast selection compared to other hotels. I have never used the pool or gym. Friendly staff. They charge a $150 cleaning fee if you smoke, yet my room smelled like smoke, I did report it. We will stay again though.

We visit our daughter and family who live about 15 from hotel. This hotel is very clean, staff was very friendly and efficient. Overall stay was good. Right off the exit and there is no problem with noise. I was concerned with possible noise from Carrowinds , there was none,

Very clean, staff was very friendly, spacious rooms and good breakfast. It was close to Carowinds . We stayed the next night at the Cabins at Carowinds which was nice, but next time I will just book at Best Western. The beds were comfortable, parking was well lit and plenty of it. They offer room service which we didn't use but they had a large menu.

Staff that is easy to work with and friendly? Well this is an excellent place to stay for a night or two, with an outside pool to cool off.

My husband and I have lung issues that are not attributed to smoking. We had locked in this room as the surrounding hotels were booked due to a graduation weekend. The hotel totally smelled like heavy smoke from the time we entered. The elevator was totally frightening. The breakfast was less than desirable with rotten fruit. One night we had to make our own bed from scratch. Debated the final bill through our card company to no avail. If you are able to afford a little more for a room, please cross this hotel off your list. Even with a page and a halt problems listed at checkout, the front desk was unable to offer us a discount on our stay. $500.00 was a waste. Beware

The room was very poorly sound insulated, which meant extremely loud noise level from the neighboring room when they were using their Jacuzzi for more than 30 minutes!!! The breakfast was also not really interesting and of a low quality and very few things to choose from.

This hotel was quiet, clean and the staff was very helpful. It was a little hard to find but well worth the search. The foods offered at breakfast were great, there were many choices including Gluten free cereal.

Yana patiently went out of her way in assisting me with a major problem when using the business center computer. Noticed her attentiveness and efficiency in stocking breakfast items and cleaning dining area. Let me have late checkout. Her professional, caring attitude is an asset to BW and its guests. Appealing casual business attire. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Very convenient to Carowinds. Bit difficult turnoff from main road--look for Clarion or enter Foothills from gas station. Definitely will stay here again when in area.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. Its cozy and quiet. The pool was nice and clean and this is right across the street from Carowinds. I would definitely come back and stay again. We will definitely be coming back to stay again next year.

I guess I expected a little more out of a Best Western. I did read the reviews prior to making the reservations. My family went to Carowinds for the day, and needed a place to stay for the night b/c we were planning to visit relatives in Charlotte the following day. The bathroom had dead bugs in the light fixture, and also in the toilet paper holder. There was hair on the floor, and pubic hair left in the bath tub. The rooms were small and out dated. My husband was woke at midnight by an alarm going off in the vacant adjoining room to ours. He had to get dressed and go to the front desk to have someone turn it off. Thankfully, we only stayed for the one night. I expected more for the price we paid. We won't be staying here again.

Good location, right off the highway, walking distance from Carowinds, stores and restaraunts. Property is well kept. Breakfast is great. Workout room and the pool are in good condition. Friendly staff. I wish I could keep this location secret.

Booking a stay at a Best Western can sometimes turn out to be a disappointment. Not all locations are equal. This one, however, was exceptional. Service and accommodations were great! I was very thankful for the efficient check in process because I arrived very late and was extremely tired.

This hotel has improved since last year. The staff is friendlier, the rooms and grounds are kept spotless. It is difficult to see from the interstate ramps or main road so using a GPS makes it easier. Go behind the KFC is the best way to find it. So easy to come and go from Carowinds here. Just across the road and you can be in and out. I would not say it was walk-able b/c the drive into the park entrance is l o n g. This is a very quiet location. Affordable with nice plush beds, king or queens. None of that just double sized stuff here. We had our grandsons and had plenty room for all the 'stuff'.

We stayed one night only as we were visiting Carowinds. Several other hotels around, this one had the better of the ratings. It's fine. I'd mark the driveway entrance a little better. Shame the Mexican Restaurant in front of the hotels looks so sketchy. BUT the hotel was clean, staff was friendly, parking easy, beds fairly comfortable, pillows not as much! I'd stay again if we are doing Carowinds again. Decent stay for the price.

Our room was re-rented as we were occupying it and people entered our room at 1am as we were sleeping. The next morning the front desk made us then move to a different room because the system would not let them rent us that room and they had meant to give us a key to a different room.

Great hot breakfast with hot waffles and bacon and sausage. Clean rooms and very friendly helpful staff. Maid actually helped me get over loaded luggage cart into our room. Pool a bit tiny. Walls a little thin. Air conditioner noise kept us awake. Hotel about 1 mile from carowinds. We had room with love seat and were disappointed that tv was not in the sofa section of the room. We would not have paid the extra money to get the love seat if we had of known that. Very impressed by the friendly staff. Rooms were clean.

We stayed for two nights and very happy with our choice. We had a good stay and highly recommend this hotel. Quite place, clean room, good breakfast. Great service. Good location, a lot of trees, flowers around hotel, close to a freeway.

Arrived at 6PM, Left at 4am for drive south. Very busy exit off I-77. Easy check-in with online reservation. Room had easy access to parking area for unloading and reloading. Computer in business area was INCREDIBLY SLOW. Easy access to restaurants across parking lot. Missed free breakfast since it started at 6am

Stayed here for 2 nights while my bath rooms were being remodeled. The hotel is in a good location across from Carowinds theme park and I-77. The rooms were clean, seemed to have been recently remodeled, and the staff was very friendly, courteous and professional. Safe area and safe hotel.

This is our go-to hotel for visiting our family in South Carolina. Uncharacteristically, the breakfast area was not well taken care of on the Saturday and Sunday of our visit. Monday was fine. On the weekend the single staff person did not keep up with the cleaning of the serving areas or with stocking the food items. Had to ask for replenishment of several items, which, in our opinion, should have been monitored more closely. Perhaps the sole attendant at the desk was over-taxed. Other than this the stay was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Had asked for a third floor room, but none available on check-in. One day of our stay it sounded like someone was playing basketball in the room above -- the sound reverberated through our room. Annoying. Despite our observed shortcomings at breakfast, we likely will stay here again.

The hotel meets the requirements of having a bed and shower, but is really lagging with other comforts. Areas to improve include the continental breakfast, overall quietness, pillows, snacks, etc. It is not up to the same level as other Best Western hotels I've stayed at.

Great value for the area. Staff friendly. Rooms clean and updated. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was a plus. I have Stayed three times now and have never been disappointed. Parking is well lit and plentiful. Rooms are very quiet considering the interstate traffic and plain flyovers. Very conveniently located to everything Across the street from Carowinds Great restaurants close also.

I had a great experience with this hotel and their staff members. I did not have a problem with the hotel. The only thing that could change was when I called to tell them I was checking in at sometime on Saturday because, I was stilling trying to get things together for my wedding day , I felt I should have not been charged for Friday since I actually checked in on 3:00 AM Saturday morning.

we enjoy staying here because it is clean and close to the park. if I can book it just right the price is not too bad. I wish the breakfast was a bit more but am not complaining. since it is the beginning of the park season I am sure we will be back.

The manager is in a room on the first floor, and is loudly vomiting and cursing. He is obviously intoxicated. I'd highly recommend you go somewhere else, this place is absolutely unacceptable. If you're going to Carowinds, there's several other places you can go. On top of that, the printer doesn't work.

I stayed for 3 nights at the Best Western in Fort Mill, SC, located near Carowinds. I was pleasantly surprised as this hotel is off the beaten path. You have to look for it or call for directions. It is located off a dead end road. However, I was pleased with the hotel and staff. The room was very clean. The staff was very pleasant and nice. The free breakfast was very good with a good variety of pastries, cereals, fruit, and juices. There was also hot items (bacon/sausage) along with toast. I would recommend this hotel for business travelers or couples traveling on vacation. I was traveling alone, but felt safe considering the location of the hotel. There are quite a few restaurants and other attractions within a short driving distance of this hotel. It is right off Interstate 77 between North and South Carolina.

Best Western Carowinds caters to families and business travelers. Rooms are clean and good sized for a hotel at this level. The beds were a little hard for me but the linens seemed to be of a good quality. Rooms are quiet and include a desk for writing. Room amenities include a television, a fridge, an air conditioner, a microwave, an iron, a coffee maker, a telephone, a clock radio, and a hair dryer. The included breakfast runs daily until 9:30. It is a basic continental breakfast with oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, waffles, bacon, juice, fruit, cereal, and toast. Rooms are quiet and include a desk for writing. The location is right off the freeway and gives you easy on/off access, but can be a little tricky to find as it is not visible from the freeway or nearby streets.

I have had such great stays at Best Western Hotels and resorts that my husband and I have decided when we have to stay for business or pleasure we are going to stay at their locations where able to, Cant say anything but good things about them.

This was a very well-maintained and clean Best Western. The room was comfortable , quiet, and large by most modern hotel standards. The free breakfast was typical. Overall, a great value. The hotel is cannot be seen from the main highway. As you turn off the main road onto the access going the hotel, bear to the left and you will then see their sign about a 100 yards ahead.

Picked this hotel because it was close to the interstate and we were passing through to Daytona Beach. Checked in was quick and easy. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. I would recomend this hotel

Stayed one night while traveling. Is just off the I-77 exit, but a bit hard to locate at night. Courteous and helpful staff, nice and clean room, and a very nice breakfast. Cracker Barrel restaurant is nearby. Would stay again.

out of everywhere I stayed this place was the best even better then Quality Inn. the best breakfast better then the quality inn. the prices was even better. They will be my main hotel for now on. nothing else to say about it

Stayed just for one night, had a doctors appointment in Charlotte from Virginia. Safe and clean, nice bed and pillows. My mom and K shared a king size and we had plenty of room. Water pressure in shower was fantastic and the water got hot quick. Will stay here again.

Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Hotel hidden off the main road so difficult to locate. No issues arose. Would recommend this hotel. Also has a comfortable area to meet and printer available.

A delightful surprise, especially for the price. Great location, typical breakfast, and polite staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Request a room on the first floor because the hotel has no elevator. Adjacent to Cabellas, Frugal McDougle liquor store and Cracker Barrel near by.

Spent the weekend in the Queen city area, this hotel was near by and was great.The staff was nice and the check in was with out problems. Great room nice bed and the hot tube in the room was great. will stay again.

Clean and cheap, but difficult to find, (hidden down a side road and not well marked). First time at this hotel and the most surprising thing about my room, #204, was the door. See photos. There was enough space between the door and the frame that you could run your finger around the entire door. The latch barely caught and you could see people in the hallway walking past with the door closed. Horrible construction. When I arrived the receptionist was on the phone. She did not apologize or tell me that she would "be right with me, " but continued to talk. When she finally finished, (6 or 7 minutes?), she then proceeded to count money out of the cash register, band it and then leave the desk and go into the back room to make some sort of transaction or record with her supervisor, even though I was standing there, waiting to check it. I will not stay here again. Bed was comfortable, room was clean.

We picked this hotel because it was ideally situated for us, on our way down to Florida. We were longing for a good night sleep after a 12-hour drive and didn't get it. Our room was situated right in front of the vending machines and ice maker, and people kept coming and going for most part of the night, laughing and talking loudly. We asked for a non-smoking room, which we had, but there was a lingering smell of smoke in the hallway and also in the room since this is not a 100% smoking-free hotel. On the positive side, room was big and clean. I don't think we will use this hotel again due to the noise and the smell problem.

By far one of the nicest Best Western hotels I have ever stayed in. Don't be fooled by the price, this place is very decent. The rooms were clean, and the staff was very attentive to any needs. Breakfast was fair for the price, there were hot and cold food available and the set up was clean. Some rooms have a faint smell of cigarettes remaining, but not at all overwhelming. They are continuing to make improvements and it is very good now.

Best value/accommodation for traveling north/south to Florida. Friendly/helpful staff, Clean room, good TV, Good internet, new heat/ac units. Very good access to Interstate 79, Very handy access to gas stations..

I recently made a trip to visit family in the area, and booked this hotel through Travelocity. At the last minute, I found out that I would be able to stay with a family member for the last two days of my trip and only needed one of the three nights I had booked with the hotel. I notified the representative at the front desk when I checked in that I would be checking out the next day, and was told that I would need to notify Travelocity, since that was who I made the booking through. Upon notifying Travelocity several days later after the trip was completed (delay due to the trip and then work afterwards), I was told that the hotel manager had to review each case and that the manager would be out for the next three days, which meant I now had to wait even longer to reach a final resolution. After a week, I had to call back because I still hadn't heard anything. After calling back, I found out that my request for a refund had been DENIED by the manager. No reason was given, it was just denied. So tell me, Best Western, exactly why are you keeping a single mother's money, during the holiday season, when you didn't actually provide the service that was paid for, and when you were notified at the beginning of the stay (which was as early as possible), which technically constituted a 24 hour notice? Especially when I could have chosen to patronize another hotel in the first place? In short, that is exactly what I will be doing in the future. I will patronize another hotel rather than utilizing one with clearly dishonest practices and underhanded policies that allow for arbitrary refund policies that give no explanation to the customer whatsoever. I will not be utilizing this hotel chain again, and will be contacting the better business bureau in regards to the matter.

Tried to reserve a four-night stay on line at this hotel while at home, but it apparently was booked fully for at least one of the days on our intended stay. After a fiasco with three unsatisfactory rooms a a nearby hotel we decided to give this one a shot over the counter. The desk clerk was able to accommodate us and we checked in to a first floor room (108). Don't usually like the first floor as it generally is nosier than others. Not this time. The room was quiet and comfortable and the four-day price was about $50 less than the nearby hotel that we left earlier. We'd stayed here before with results from very good to just so-so. This time was very good. Only one minor complaint. Three out of four mornings at breakfast I had to ask the desk clerk-- a nice young woman -- to make decaf coffee, as the urn was running on empty. We will stay here again.

We stayed there 3 times and it was consistent. We paid a little more each time due to price rate increases everywhere. The area feels safe, the breakfast OK. We like a place with waffles which, alone, earned one of the stars. Hampton Inns are better, but not worth the extra $30 more. We think of it as "Hampton Lite".

I stayed overnight for business and normally stay in more expensive hotels. I didn't do the breakfast or even see what was served. I work in this area, but live two hours away. I stayed at this location so I wouldn't have to make a two hour drive home late at night plus it is close to where I had to go to work the next morning. It was a nice stay for the money.

First thing I like the Best Western chain, I think they provide good quality and great price. This hotel is located literally walking distance to the Carowinds Theme Park, which is awesome. The rooms were clean, up to date, and spacious. The beds were comfy but the pillow were too soft for me. The price was good. My biggest complaint is that the breakfast wasn't what I expected, I guess I have been spoiled by other Best Western hotels. Overall this isn't a bad hotel to stay in if your visiting the Carowinds or the Charlotte area, just that you want to get breakfast some where else.

I do not usually rate chains, we should expect the standard. Am a member of most from Marriott Rewards to La Quinta and all in between. Having pushed hard to make time from Atlanta I was dismayed to find a sign on the front desk "back in 10 min." Well 20 min later and other guests (already checked in) in line behind me, still waiting, so much for making time to get to my meeting. Anyways even though I was checking in a few min. early, I do not ever recall in 40 yrs of travel a front desk unattended for that long, not even a mom and pop place. Next morning no paper, coffee was made and left uncovered, must have been 30 min that way, heated it in microwave. People this is simple stuff, attention to detail, and detail is what separates one hotelier from another. Fix, this was not my first time here but may be my last. Otherwise standard roomand value was fine, but the lack of attention to detail is a great diservice to the Best Western chain and those franchisees who work hard to maintain their usual excellent accomadations.

The staff were very pleasant and professional The room on the ground floor was great for 4 of us with lots of extra room. The area of the hotel was great and central for what we were doing. The only little complaint I have is the breakfast, it really wasn't anything special and the others in my party really couldn't find anything to eat, plus the sausages tasted like rubber.

Excellent CLEAN Room - Stay Date: 11-2-3-2015. Good Rate for type of room and features. Simple-Breakfast - Cold use some work-Needs more hot food & food layout not enough space for everything! Overall 3-4 Star mainly due to fact this property is almost new and has not been beaten up yet. Will see in the years to come if it stays this way! Elevator slowest in country but room made up for this!

Best Western Carowinds is located right off Interstate 77 just south of Charlette. It is easy to get back on 77 going south. Their is a new Cabela's and amusment park close by. Several restrurants are close and convienent. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast served at 6:30 AM. Staff friendly and sharp.

My hubby and I decided to stay here during our first anniversary trip since it is right at Carowinds.Check in was simple. The hotel is clean and inviting. The lobby is great and our room was wonderful. We have a king sized suit which included: *king sized bed *separate sitting area *fridge/microwave/coffee maker *working center *chest of drawers and side tables *bathroom ammenities We have a second floor room which overlooks the Clarion next door (I was hoping for a view of the park). The hotel has a pool and work out center. Contential breakfast includes bread, cereal,meats, and a waffle maker. YOu can purchase Carowinds tickets here. Location/dining...you could not ask for a better location. Like I said across from the park. Your about 20 minutes from Rock Hill, downtown Charlotte, or the Pineville area as well as Charlotte Douglas Airport. You are just right off I77. Your are not to far from Panters stadium and about 30 minutes to Lowes Motor Speedway. There are several dining options witin walking distance, though most are fast food. If you are looking for sit down service you do not need to drive far. Turning left or right at the entrance and you will find plenty of dining options or the next road over..Westinghouse Blvd also has lots of options. Then there is plenty to choose from downtown Charlotte, Rock Hill, or down 485 at Pineville. Favs: The location again is a big big plus. There are plenty of plugs but the lamps also have plugs. With 3 phones,,2 laptops,,and a tablet..they were greatly appriciated. Dislikes: The wifi is iffy and most of the times come up as limited. But the Clarion next door has great service and we were able to hook into there's. Since it was our anniversary I selected us a king room with hot tub. I was expecting a large tub. The tub is not separate so no privacy. Both my hubby and myself fit into..just barely though and all we could do was relax. This was a great call and since we have season passes to Carowinds..we shall return.

When we checked in, the Front Desk people were friendly and engaged. We found the room was clean and properly appointed. The amenities package was complete and well arranged. The Housekeeping folks did a thorough job and left us a well-attended room. My wife had a specific problem and the Front Desk and the Management were professional and exhibited excellent follow-through in the problem resolution side of a small incident. Unlike many of the nearby competitors, these folks know guest service and strive to give the best possible experience.

BW is my chain of choice when I travel for leisure. I like to stay at this one because of its proximity to Carowinds and great prices-if you book early. HOWEVER, my family and I stayed on the second floor and the smell in the bedroom was awful. We were not sure if it was cigarrete smell or mold or the combination of both. PLUS if you need any help from the front desk passed 9PM do not even bother. Again TBW is my chain of choice and I will stay here again. I just hope that after reading my review somebody takes care of what needs to be taken care of. The hotel has a Mexican restaurant next door that you can walk to and a lot of choices for food along 21.

I have stayed here several times because it is right at the park. It is OKAY/DECENT but not worth $100 per night. I checked in at 2:30 and was given a room that wasn't ready (check-in is at 2:00). I was told my credit card declined when I was planning to use a different credit card. The hotel itself is okay, just shouldn't be the same price as Mariott because it's near a park. Clarion is $30 cheaper and just as decent. Staff wasn't friendly this time. I have stayed here several times and just disappointed this time.

If you want the king size bed in 116, skip this hotel. It is NOISY and the bed should have been discarded 10 years ago. The room is surrounded by the vending machines, cars, and loud guests using the security door. Additionally, no manager is around to fix the problem at night, to take responsibility in the morning, or to call you after to see how they could make things right. If this is your only choice for a king size room, KEEP DRIVING!!!!

The check in was ok, the girl at the desk had an issue with our gift cards. The room was clean, and the breakfast was nice, not a lot of food but served the purpose. We stayed here on our way to Orlando and on our way back.

One of the best locations for staying close to Carowinds Amusement Park. It's right across the street! Room was comfortable, not a lot of amenities, but it does have an outdoor pool. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Parking was plentiful.

How did this place have such a high rating #2?? We travel a lot since we are retired and always try to stay at at BW because we know what expect. This one wasn't very good. First of all the place was VERY hard to find since there are no signs and several hotels located in the same area. The front desk manager was the best thing about our stay !! Very helpful and informative. He couldn't really help us with a couple problems, a family above us that had children running, jumping and yelling late at night and early, like 5:00am,in the morning!! The mattress felt like it had been on the bed since the hotel opened. The air conditioner didn't work very well. Good thing it was cold and rainy out. The cleaning ladies were loud, yelling from one end of the hall to the other from 11:00 on. I ask them to please quite down. They just smiled and kept right on, did they not understand English or didn't care? I almost fell a couple times cause the floor was always sticky and slippery!! I didn't bring all these problems to the manage cause he had his hands full checking in or checking out guests, answering the phone, folding towels and taking care of the breakfast. Really couldn't one of the maids clean off the tables and stock the food!! This not the worse hotel we've stayed in, but I don't think it was one Best Western could be proud of! Next time we are in the Charlotte area we will stay at the Quality Inn.

This hotel was clean, bed was comfortable and it is right across the street from Carowinds. I didn't have breakfast there so can't speak to that but there is a Cracker Barrell about 1 minute away also. I was worried that the fair price ($75 per night) meant this might be a poor experience but I was pleasantly surprised. I'd definitely stay here again.

I am always impressed by the quality at Best Western. There is never a compromise on comfort, a friendly greeting from the front desk staff and a very clean environment. When traveling, we will always try to book our stays at Best Western as our first choice!!!
