Best Western Vista Manor Lodge

My kids and I had a very good time here. We enjoyed the view, the proximity to the water and town, the indoor pool, and the complimentary breakfast both mornings. We also made use of the fridge and microwave in the room. Can't wait for our next stay!

Rooms comfortable & clean, but while the shower was great for my elderly dad - lots of grab bars - the small sink was only good for brushing one's teeth. No closet supposedly to make room for larger bathroom, but no extra hooks to hang up clothes. Staff was friendly and courteous. Lousy internet, wifi

We had a very spacious suite, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The value for the room was good, and the location was very convenient. However, the wifi was too slow to be of any use, the bed was uncomfortable, and the shower didn't get hot enough

Loud construction noise was overwhelming between 8;30 am and 4:45 pm. There was food left in the Fridg from a previous guest, Hair in the bathtub, no hot water in the shower, Hand prints on the faucet of the sink. The mattress was kind grooved out from use. Other than those details, I could picture this place being OK, if they took the time clean and inform people when they're doing heavy construction..This place isn't cheap and your money would be better spent going elsewhere.

I prefer coming here on a best western special because the prices are better. The second-floor rooms have a beautiful view. The staff is always helpful. The rooms are good, but the heater loud. The Internet is not good. Lost connections over and over. I would come back though. Because as the options go in Fort Bragg, this is a good affordable one.

Found a pubic hair embedded in our eggs. There were small ants in our room. We told the front desk and they are aware of the rolli pollis but not about the ants. They were apologetic but didn't seem like they would take any action. Partial ocean view is a creek. Great location if visiting Fort Bragg.

The toilet seat was peeling, the curtains were hard to open and close and the rods to open and close them was dirty, bugs were smashed in the curtains, walls were patchy, no screen door for the patio door, the chair in the room was dirty, and it just made me feel like the bedding might also be unclean. We were on the first floor and the upstairs folks movement was so loud it was like we were in a bowling alley. The bed itself was comfortable. The other redeeming quality was the breakfast. It was decent for continental breakfast standards. They have a waffle station and warm scrambled eggs and sausage.

The room was fine. It was clean, didn't stink, everything in the bathroom worked fine. The TV worked, and the remote had a “Guide” button, so you could find what you might like to watch without just surfing. The choice of stations was extensive. It was the little things that bugged me. The nightstand had no power outlets. Most rooms now have a lamp with outlets built into the base so that you can plug in your phone, tablet, etc. No such luck. There was a power strip under one bed into which the lamp and clock were plugged, but it wasn't really accessible. Would have been better just to mount that strip on the nightstand. (Note to self, add extension cord to motel pack-list.) The “free wi-fi” was useless. That's really no surprise, they usually are, and I rarely use them. But here's the thing, Ft Bragg seems to be largely cell-signal-hell. Occupants of the room had ATT and Verizon services, and both were no better than one bar. So, with no wi-fi and no real cell signal, we had to leave the property to find internet (on the cliff over the beach was best) and research restaurants, etc. Given the crappy cell signals on their property, it would be nice if they would invest in wi-fi that worked. They keep the pool covered “to preserve heat”. Please find an attendant to uncover it if you want to use it. I get it. I also get that most people won't bother, especially if you just want a quick 10-minute dip. It's not really welcoming. They don't start breakfast until 7:30. I'm going with “seriously?” That's pretty much useless if you have an early meeting or need to hit the road. We've stayed at a lot of B.W. properties. It's our first go-to when looking to travel, and the on-site breakfast is a big draw for us. It's SO convenient, and restaurant breakfasts are usually a lot more food than we want. I don't ever remember having to literally wait around for them to open the doors. I can't prove anything, because none of the B.W. property web-sites actually state times for breakfast, but 6 or 7 seems like what I remember. Ok, so we'll just wait at the room (there was a nice table out back) and have room coffee. Oh wait, there was a coffee maker and coffee, but no pot. Useless. I heard another customer notify / complain about it at the front desk, so it seems to be “a thing”. The selection of breakfast items was typical of all B.W. properties: waffles, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and toast, sausage and eggs. The coffee was very good. The only thing that could be improved are the microwaved sausage and eggs, especially the sausage. A little grill that could crisp and brown the sausage would be a significant improvement. I can live without the pool, so I'm going with a 3. Add some power strips and a coffee pot in the room and move breakfast to 7:00 and it's a 4. Fix the wi-fi and move breakfast to 6:00 or 6:30 and it's a 5.

There is a main road in-between the rooms and the ocean. The cars were noisy when the windows were open. Breakfast was good. No help with luggage if your a senior. Owners were great, staff not so much.

This is a nice older property. We had an ocean view room and the view was excellent. Shower water pressure was so bad that it took 15 minutes for a 5 minute shower. The lack of a deck or patio was a negative. Also, you could not safely walk to the beach or anything else. Road noise from Highway 101 is a trade off the the view. The included breakfast was pretty good.

Great location with a staff that cares and helps you out no matter what time of the day or night. It's a quiet spot on the edge of town across from an amazing beach. We will be back again when we drive this way again

The customer service people at front desk seem nice and friendly, but the title says it all—the room we were provided (despite being a BW Platinum Elite member) was old, with a sagging bed that woke us up both mornings with acute back pain that's still going on a day after checkout. I am wearing a back brace back at home as I type this! The Wi-Fi kept dropping every few minutes, forcing us to keep logging in constantly and disturbing the work I was trying to do. (The internet service got marginally better after complaining to the staff, but not by much.) The coffee maker was dusty (needed a good cleaning), and no tea bags were provided. The street noise from Hwy 1 can be heard even with the windows and both sets of shades closed. We paid over $460 for two nights (incl taxes and fees), which seemed like a rip-off considering what we got in return.

The overall quality was poor. The primary problem is with my personal account. I can't register online due to some internal problem. I reported it twice to customer service with no results in 4 weeks.

Overpriced. $200 for an outdated room that gives Motel 6 a run for its money. The breakfast hours didn't start until 0730, a lot of people (including us) have to be on the road before then. And I counted more doors on this motel style place than parking spaces....so parking is at a premium. Definitely surprised Best Western let's them attach their franchise name to this place.

I was impressed with how clean our room was with ample space for us to relax comfortably in the room. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. we enjoyed the breakfast that included lots of options. I would definetly stay here again.

Nice location overlooking the Vista Manor bridge. Room was clean and quiet, and included all the basic amenities including coffee maker and free internet. Room rate ($175 per night weekend rate) was on the higher side, but free breakfast and the location made up for it. We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel.

Hotel overpriced so we'd look for better-priced options on our next visit. "Oceanview" room was quite exaggerated (Ocean "peek" would have been more accurate. All rooms are highway frontage. Seal between fixed and sliding portions of sliding door is shot, allowing additional noise to enter room. Friendly staff, comfortable bed/pillows, adequate hot water (towels were a little "rough") Breakfast was a typical Best Western waffles, powdered scrambled eggs, link sausage, etc. (better than nothing).

Menstrual blood on the front of the toilet bowl. Makes me wonder if the rest of the room was "cleaned" in the same fashion. Other than noisy neighbors upstairs it wasn't bad. Location is good with easy access to everything.

Spacious, clean room with a panaramic view of Pudding Creek Beach and the Pacific ocean. Friendly, accomidating staff. First class breakfast offerings. Located off US1 just north of town with easy access to all sights and activities. A YES recommendation!

It was our 1st getaway in over 3 years. Much needed quiet relaxing time with my husband. No clocks, no schedules! A perfect place to do this. Clean comfortable rooms with a great view! Bed was very comfortable, heated pool felt fabulous, breakfast was spectacular with waffles, coffee juice, etc, staff were ALL extremely pleasant and helpful!!! We will definitely be back! Perfect stay for us! Thank you

Whether your destination is Mendocino or Fort Bragg, this motel gives you minutes-away access to both downtowns (driving only). View of water and sunsets perfect, although usually we were outdoors. Nothing snazzy suited us because we were there only to sleep and have breakfast. Clean, great mattresses, low tub that my 85-year-old bones could manage with a grab bar, big TV, freezer even with the usual bar fridge. Missed having a microwave, but could use the one in the breakfast area. We'll return!

The treatment we received here nearly ruined our visit to Fort Bragg. We were lied to and told we needed to pay more to upgrade to a larger room to accommodate our young children, only to find out all the rooms are the same size. The woman at the front desk was also extremely rude and dismissive when we inquired about the extra charges. After complaining to the Best Western company, the local management returned some but not all of the extra charges, and they did not reply to a follow-up inquiry regarding the extra money they retained. In addition to the poor treatment, there were other downsides: drab rooms, no elevator, limited TV channels, spotty internet, empty/cold coffee, keys that didn't activate, no in-room microwave, and a lobby that is located in a separate building across the parking lot. They also don't open the lobby/breakfast until 7:30 am. Our room had a beautiful view, but it was hard to enjoy that after what we'd experienced. Overall, we were all very grateful when it was time to check out.

Great quiet location with a pleasant outside landscape. It had a nice ocean view even though it was across the road. Super comfortable king size bed. Indoor pool was nice. Very clean bathroom that had an adjustable shower head. The room was super clean. The fan was quiet. Very glad we stayed here.

The view was beautiful. Very close to the hotel is Glass Beach. Should stop by for a visit. The toilet was dated. Could use a new one to save water and give a stronger flush. The egg was dry. It was taking a very long time to check in.

Functional, clean, good sized room a short drive to Glass beach, restaurants. Could have been walkable but no sidewalk between the hotel and the town. Breakfast was okay. The room was basic but clean. The staff were pleasant and we had no complaints.

While the hotel is right across from the beach, it is very outdated. The room smelled musty and did not have any updated security features. The breakfast offered was very basic but did not open early enough for many people at the hotel. The room was overpriced for what you get.

We stayed as a family of four at this property at the beginning of June 2022. It was our first time visiting Fort Bragg and this hotel was rated well, so we decided to take a shot. Stayed for 2 nights and even though we didn't spend a lot of time in the room, I still wish we had stayed somewhere nicer. The room are clean enough (no visible trash laying around, clean sheets & towels; carpet was questionable), but the rooms are old and need to be renovated. From dated carpet, to frizzled curtains and really questionable bathrooms, it was hard to truly enjoy our time in the room. You will hear when your neighbors are on your balcony or use their showers. PROs: - Walking distance from Pudding Beach (it's across the street). - Parking is free. - Most rooms have balconies, which allow you to watch the sunset over the beach. - Front desk staff was friendly. CONs: - Wifi (at least in the second building) was spotty at best, which is difficult because cell service is also bad - Breakfast is...well, it's better to go anywhere else for real food. - Parking can be tight, especially if there are large vehicles. - 2nd building is right next to (and yes you can see it from the 2nd floor) from a cemetery. If we're back in Fort Bragg, we won't be staying here again.

Very convenient location, very clean and had a great time. We had a 2nd floor room with a magnificent view of the ocean. You can open the windows and listen to the environment or close them and run the AC. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Overall a great experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Location was good. The room was dated but nicely appointed and clean. There were a few water bugs in the tub in the morning but easily removed. Breakfast was good but a bit spartan. Would definitely stay again at this hotel

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and it's still as nice as I remembered. Situated on a hill across the street from the ocean, with a nice view and just outside the town of Fort Bragg. We booked the cottage this time, and it was spacious, sparkling clean and beautiful. This is a great option for families with its 3 bedrooms/2 full baths, full kitchen & dining area plus living room. The large and beautifully decorated hotel lobby provided a nice space for their included breakfast offerings.

This hotel has a great view of the ocean. The breakfast was very good as well. The front desk staff were helpful and very courteous. They were very accommodating as we had our travel trailer & allowed us to park in a convenient place.

While this hotel looks old, it was very clean and comfortable. From the outside, you don't expect much, but the rooms were modern and up to date. Half the rooms also have balconies, where you can watch the sunset and see the ocean. The pool was closed, but it was due to a mechanical problem (they said it was a leak after reopening post COVID), so I won't fault them for that. This hotel is great for families, due to the large assortment for breakfast and the pool (once it opens). The only thing I didn't like is they don't clean the rooms every day (perhaps due to COVID, but I'm not sure). They would still give us new soap, shampoo, and towels each day if we asked (along with changing the trash and vacuuming if requested). Price wise, it's middle of the road. It's not the most expensive place, but also not the cheapest either. While you do have to walk outside to get to your room and sometimes drive to the other building if staying there, it isn't a big deal. The only reason I rated the sleep quality lower than good is because the air would turn on in the middle of the night and blow directly onto the bed, making it cold. Once it shut off, it would be hot again so there was a bit of tossing and turning. If the air didn't blow directly on the bed, it would have been better.

We were so happy with our choice of this hotel. It was clean, quiet, and perfect location. We were a little hesitant due to a bad experience in Miami Fl. The B W in Ft Bragg is so cute looking like cottages instead of your typical BW.

When in the area, this is our first choice of where to stay, we have never been disappointed. The rooms are always clean & the continental breakfast always offers good choices. Enjoy tge relaxing feeling after our trip

It was a very disappointing stay, there was black mold in the bathroom around the tub, the hearted didn't work nor did the internet and breakfast was disgusting the view and location were the only highlights..

Awesome location with easy access to the beach. Indoor pool, breakfast, and a very helpful and friendly staff make this hotel well deserving of our continued business. Really can't say enough about the front desk- a pleasure to visit with.

Hotel interiors are pleasant, older bed and sliding door did not work well. Good breakfast. Street noise was obvious. Pleasant staff. Need a crosswalk to cross the road to get to the beach safely. Overall was a nice stay.

This hotel was a nice place to sleep. It was a standard motel experience. The check-in experience was alright, and fairly standard, and we were given an upstairs room which was nice. Other than the highway right outside, it was fairly quiet. The room was well appointed but still had some dated and dirty spots. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We always try to stay here if we are not camping in West Port. We just learned that there is a whole other building not with ocean view but the little creek I guess. We were not complaining though we were very tired.

I stayed with my son in this hotel on Monday Night September 27, 2021 while on a road trip from Morro Bay, CA to WA and Back. We checked in at 7:30 pm and left at 7:15 am. I was charged $172.88 and was quite disappointed that I paid that much for the accommodations I received. The hotel is an older building that appears to not have any significant updates or modernizations done and feels and looks very worn. The beds were comfortable but the place is just old looking with no notable features or amenities that would justify almost $200 a night, especially on a rainy weekday in late September! I was quite disappointed that for this kind of pricing, there wasn't even a microwave in the room to heat my left over pizza. To make matters worse, I went over to the lobby at 6:10 AM the next morning to either get some coffee or heat up water in their microwave. To my disbelief, the lobby was completely closed and locked with no sign on the door stating the hours. I walked back to my room and upon checking out at 7:15 AM to hit the road, I stopped again at the lobby to get my final invoice and for coffee or hot water and couldn't believe that it was still closed with door locked with no signage saying when it would be open!! 7:15 AM on a Tuesday and the lobby is closed with no access to staff, breakfast, or even hot water is completely unacceptable especially when you're paying close to $180 a night for a room! The previous night I stayed at a Ashley Inn in Lincoln City, Oregon and paid $110 for a great hotel experience. The Best Western in Fort Bragg CA was significantly overpriced and was pretty much the worst hotel experience for the money I've ever had in my 62 years. I'll never stay at this hotel again and would like my money back!

We stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. The property is very well maintained and clean. The room had a huge picture window overlooking the ocean and beach view. Very nice, and a great value!

This place is nice for the place you pay. Only downfall is the lack of power outlets that work and the WiFi was spotty. Room was nice and spacious. The bed was a little to soft for my taste. Overall will stay here again.

This hotel sits on an elevated spot with decent view of Pacific Ocean.. Bed in room was very comfortable, slept well. Breakfast bar in the morning was good. No need to go to a resturant. I would return to this hotel again no problem.

The decor is badly dated, stains on sitting chair in the room, lighting needs to be replaced to LED to provide more light and better usability. The TV in the room does not allow for switching inputs, so I was unable to use a Fire Stick to gain access to better content. Water was nice and hot and great water pressure. Windows and sliding glass door need to be lubricated badly. Staff were very friendly and the room was clean upon check-in. Walls are a little thin, so able to hear neighbors easily.

Affordable prices. Location was right across from the beach. Only a 2 min walk to sand. Very clean and roomy. Has a larger mini fridge than most. I will be going back to this location any time we travel.

All rooms face Highway 1. Extremely noisy traffic. No rooms away from the road. Covid bag breakfast was a banana, yogurt, and 2 granola bars. Other motels serve a much better Covid breakfast. No room cleaning during a 2 night stay.

Stayed at the upper units that definitely needs updating. Not much of an ocean view and no private balcony as mentioned online. Bottom floor is very loud. Asked to be moved upstairs but they were fully booked. Floor had not been cleaned. Found things under the bed. Bathroom had ants and shower did not drain. Toilet was dirty. The room had a smell to it. Staff was friendly enough but unfortunately we won't be staying here again.

Property is still hiding behind covid rules e.g the pool hasnt opened, the hot breakfast isnt available, housekeeping isnt available yet they are still charging premium prices. Door key didnt work when we arrived, two gentleman showed up to insert the key over and over, once it opened they looked at me like I didnt know how to operate a lock, I asked them to do it again and it wouldnt open. One gentleman finally stomped off to get two new keys that worked

We had an Oceanview room top floor. Front desk very welcoming. Room is nice size with a good size fridge/freezer. No microwave. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. No mold or musty smells. View of sunset is awesome. Would stay again. Cons, slow internet, poor TV quality when watching the bucks win. Pool is still closed, grab and go breakfast.

It seemed Covid was an excuse for horrible "Grab and go breakfast", no pool, no maid service, we were told to hail them down if we needed anything, no literature to navigate even getting to the beach across the street. There was no written literature in the room at all but TV channels. No AC but used plug in fan daily when room became quite uncomfortable. No patio chairs for first floor rooms. Beds were comfortable for us and grounds were nice. Staff at front desk does not make you feel welcome or glad you are spending your precious vacation time there. Could and should be better.

Pros: the water pressure was fantastic and the view was nice. Cons: the internet was basically non existent, which was really frustrating when we wanted to look up places for dinner. The room was dirty. There was mold in the shower and everything else in the room just felt dirty and old and falling apart. The beds sucked. Even my children were uncomfortable. The mattresses desperately need to be replaced. They wouldn't give us new towels without us returning the old ones. They actually counted what I returned and gave an exact replacement. It was annoying to go back and forth to our room at the far end of the property just to get our old towels to replace them. Small bathroom. I'm not a large person and it was annoying to have to squeeze next to the toilet to close the door or wash my hands. Overall, my kids called the place Worst Western and it was an apt name. We won't be staying here again.

unfortunately the pool is closed till august or september. Wish I would have known. no A/C bottom floor rooms gets stuffy at times but they do have a fan. Breakfast was grab n go and decent. not much of an ocean view at least from bottom rooms, but nice picnic tables and sliding doors to outside to hang out.

We stayed in 15 hotels since Covid and this was by far the worst. I can't believe it was almost $200 a night and sold out completely booked. Crazy! The room looked like it was from the 1960s, dated dirty and psycho ish. We didn't have a view of the water the front looked out at our car in the parking lot in the back onto Route one. We will woken up at 5 AM by people walking overhead and the roar of vehicles. At 6 AM there was a strong smell of hair dye that actually burned my eyes. When I sneezed I heard somebody in a neighboring room say bless you. Everything in the bathroom felt very short, and I'm 5 foot two. The luggage rack didn't hold my small suitcase it was rickety and broken. The towels weren't absorbent they were small thin and old. The room smelled like a kennel, the furniture was filled with animal hairs. I'm glad I had allergy pills and nasal spray's because this was brutal. When we left our room in the morning there were stray dogs ripping through garbage on the floor. There were no amenities, the Wi-Fi was slow & poor, the Breakfast bag should have gone to the dogs, it went in the garbage. We won't be back, you shouldn't come. You'd have a better night sleeping in your clean car

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, the people were friendly and the rooms were very well kept, the beds were probably some of the best I have slept in, and I have slept in a lot of different hotels all over the USA.

Great service, rooms were updated and clean. Staff was helpful on a very busy trip due to the extreme heat all other hotels were overcharging while this was as expected posted rates. Room overlooked the beach and was quiet and comfortable.

Friendly staff. The manager was helpful in changing our room for one on the ground floor. Without an elevator, climbing the stairs was an issue. It went downhill from there. The bedside lamp was not working. During my attempt to troubleshoot the issue, I found that the power strip it was connected to was broken. Further, I found that it was plugged into an outlet that was uncovered and the bed was pressed against it. Moving to the bathroom, the ceiling paint was peeling in several locations and looked like it needed cleaning. I cannot tell if all the toilets were the same, but it was insanely low too use. A 3 year old would have no trouble using it, but any adults trying to sit down better have strong thighs as it is work standing back up. The final straw was the noise level from the upstairs guests. No insulation between the floors meant sleeping was hard. We will not return.

We stayed 2 nights here. Staff was friendly & nice. Wish the hotel was cleaner though. We found several trails of ants near the back patio door and some got in my bags & sheets. I was pretty grossed out. Also found beads and tape in my bed which made me feel like the sheets weren't clean. Like I said the staff was great and hospitable just wish the hotel was cleaner and didn't have ants. The hotel could use a renovation as well as the bathrooms & such little really old & decapitated. Pretty disgusting and dissapointed bringing my family to this BW. I've stayed in BWs before but the others weren't worn down & decapitated like this one was.

We stayed in room 226. It is a cottage that has 3 room, 2 bathroom with a nice size kitchen. Our biggest issue is inside the cottage has a moldy odor. The bedding is not very clean either. The cottage is located at very corner of the hotel where you will fell less secured.

Hotel is ok. Room big suite size however dated with minimal amenities. Furniture very uncomfortable and layout not set up for viewing. Bathroom has pedestal sink and no place to put stuff. No luggage racks and limited storage. Pool closed and no housekeeping. Reason due to COVID however other hotels had it. Would not stay here again.

Love this motel. So convenient to be able to park right outside your door. Very clean (although a bit worn) room, no complaints. Also, extremely convenient to the sandy beach - easy walk across the street (Hwy 1). Love the beautiful sunsets from the ocean view room. Nice, friendly accommodating staff. Would definitely stay here again (actually my second time!).

When I first got there - I thought the beach was really close - it was, you still had to walk down the drive and under the highway. It ended up that the beach was amazing, lots of roaring from the waves, yet there was a river heading to the ocean so you can play in the water without the waves. A lady was there with her daughter in the river with a wetsuit on. It was cold.

This BW was very good. We enjoyed our room with a balcony and a view of the ocean. The room was very well maintained and we felt quite safe and it was very quiet. It was in a good location to explore the coast and sites around Fort Bragg.

This hotel is conveniently located so you can enjoy all the dining and activities. The indoor pool is an asset being close to the cool coast. My stay was comfortable and a pleasure looking and hearing the ocean from our room.

The view was great, the room comfortable and the staff helpful and pleasant.Traveling during COVID 19 protocols is less than ideal, but the staff really worked hard to overcome the restrictions and make your stay special.. The hotel is up on the hill across from a nice beach.

Stayed a the Best Western Vista Minor for two nights. We like the proximity to all the parks near Fort Bragg. I was surprised that the room had a balcony unfortunately no table for your drinks or meal. The room was very spacious, and super quiet even though is right by the highway. Overall it is a great value

This hotel is exceptional! We enjoyed super fast internet in the "back" building & we will be staying there again when we're in this area even though we have our own RV. Breath taking views & the room (224) itself was absolutely beautiful. Their workers were friendly & helpful. Their HOT water & pressure A++ perfect after traveling for such long hours before falling into extremely comfortable beds. Oh -Yeah did I say it was CLEAN like spotless CLEAN!!! Well it was the whole grounds of the hotel let alone our room CLEAN!!!!

Stopped by for an overnight and finally found the perfect room for us at this location. Was a little eerie when we arrived for we were the only one's checked in. Check-in went smooth, due to pandemic no breakfast at all so was give paper sack with banana, yogurt, and a small pastry. The room was clean, the shower was great (other Best Westerns showers were lousy) . Bedding was very light like for summer and no extra blankets in the room. We didn't use the room ventilation system because it looked like i hadn't been ran or cleaned in sometime so we got very very cold that night. Otherwise this is our go to place when we go to Fort Bragg.

The room was clean. Sink was made for a very short person and I'm 5'4 walls are super thin. And the bed was not great we left a day early to another place with better beds. That's why I gave it a 3 but the front seat was very professional but he didn't ask why I was checking out early.

What a great view we had. I stayed in room 431 and had the best views of the bridge and ocean, At night I left the window open and could hear the waves crash all night, for being across the street from the beach I couldn't have asked for more.

This property is on the opposite side of Hwy.1 from the beach, so there is a lot of traffic noise if you open the window. They do have air-conditioning, so we just kept the window shut.From the second floor, there is a fairly decent view. They do have a grab and go breakfast.

We booked our stay for 5 nights in the 2 bedroom cottage. When we arrived, we immediately noticed that the pictures we booked from are nothing like the cottage itself. It smelled like mildew. The furniture is probably from the 1970's and is super uncomfortable. The "high speed internet" didn't reach the cottage. Our 3 kids had to do their distance learning in the lobby of the office. I would never recommend staying here, nor will I ever stay here again. We ended up leaving after the 2nd night.

Manager was rude when I asked about canceling and moving to a different hotel rooms not as pictured Damp and wet smell in room And very dated Will not reserve here again and I would not recommend Anyone to stay here

Walked in and back out. Stunk like mildew which I'm allergic to. Not as pictured! Bed was obviously slept in. Gross! Ended up staying at the beautifully renovated Holiday Inn. Manager was arguing with my husband.

not enough pillows;couldn't sit up and read; didn't offer wifi password; snack bag breakfast was horrible. they used Svenhard's pastries instead of a nice quality pastry or bagel and cream cheese, which they could have easily provided

Rooms are spacious and location is great. I was surprised there were only two pillows per bed, when there's typically four at other Best Westerns. The restrooms need some TLC...their age showed. We stayed for one night and would stay again.

Loved our stay! Could hear ocean every night. Based on Covid - hotel did best with what they have - meaning we had to reserve time in pool. Breakfast was lame and we did not eat anything from the To Go Bag.....

Old and rundown room. Room felt and smelled musty and old. Carpet full of smells, lamp shades looked like they were wiped down with pubic hairs unless that's the design, worn out blankets, mold on porch door curtains, felt like everything was wiped down with the same used rag from next door. No real ocean view unless you want to see a bridge block it. Only things nice were the person checking us in and then us leaving. Too bad these are independently owned, at almost $200 a night (with taxes), it's definitely not worth it. In my opinion, this property DAMAGES the Best Western brand.

This BW is seriously a gem ... it's old but maintained meticulously. Fort Bragg is an odd town, right on the Pacific, but most hotels are on the "wrong side" of Highway 1, while the property on the water is commercial. How I wish a magician could switch them. So there is a view from the BW, but it's not particularly interesting and you can't just walk over to the beach easily. We thought it a great, super comfortable hotel and would be delighted to go back. Staff is terrific and everything worked just fine.

The setting, entrance and lobby were nice. Check-in was excellent with a very personable lady who knew the area well & could answer our questions. The hotel is older but it's been remodeled nicely. But don't expect much of a view. All we could see from our room was a bridge which covered the view to the shore, with standing water in a little cove. The main drawback was Hwy 1 being just yards from the room. We heard cars driving by all night. Zoom zoom zoom. Other than that, the bed was comfy, the room was really clean, nice TV and refrigerator. Coffee maker gets one star- needs an upgrade. Slightly overpriced for what you get imo.

Location is this BW best feature. Our room had a perfect view of the historic Pudding Creek Trestle. One can cross the street and go down the road/path to get really close and under the bridge. It was probably the closest hotel to Glass Beach. There was a Denny's with patio dining literally less than 2 minute drive. Further down south on Main Street were the town's business district. Price was surprisingly expensive. But seemed like all hotels in the area are all pricey for some reason. Room. We got a fairly large room with 3 double beds. The room was a bit dated without USB plugs for charging. It came with a fridge, a work desk, 2 night stands, and a small closet. The bathroom was fairly tight. It had a wall mounted heater for cold Ft Bragg winters. Service/Food. Except for the check-in, no other interaction with staff. Front Desk provided a pretty good 'breakfast bag': contained a banana, bottled water, breakfast bar, and a yogurt. Parking. Complimentary and we were able to park in front of out 1st floor room. Internet. A lifesaver and was pretty strong. Our cell phone carrier did not have a signal even though the coverage map stated otherwise. Certain stretches of Highway 1 on this trip and one we did a few weeks ago on Highway 1 by Big Sur, signals were spotty to non-existent. Overall, this BW is a great choice for area. Highly recommended.

Poor service, smelly room, dated décor, poor ventilation, missing screen door for patio Many other rooms in the area with better accommodations. Maybe now I know why this Hotel still had vacancies when everyone else was booked.

I was traveling on medical industry related business. I normally stay at the Motel 6 in this area but the only vacancy was at this Best Western Location. The motel itself is clearly older, and looks as such. The highlight of this location was the girl working the check-in desk. She was an absolute gem of a person. We got to the room and it was nicely furnished despite the age. The heat and AC worked very well and the view was nice. The bathroom was very drafty even though we closed the window and had no vent. The cardboard stand advertising the clean and sanitized remote was filthy. There was a gigantic dirty area around the door frame, some kind of dark sticky liquid was splattered all around the ceiling and the upper door frame all along the wall there and had clearly been there for a while. The bath water did not get hot at all. I put my toddler in the bath and the water never got above tepid. Because there were no other rooms available, there was nothing the could be done and the toddler had to have a cold bath because she was all sandy from the beach. We were supposed to have received a 60% discount for this stay for the cleanliness issue and the hot water not working, but that never happened. This hotel is absolutely not even a little bit worth the price they are charging for it and I am very unhappy with Best Western in general as this is the third hotel in my business trip that has had issues.

The staff at this Best Western far surpass those at any other one I have stayed at. Their genuine kindness and efficiency are worth the stay. I had a situation that they were extremely accommodating and they were so kind during this pandemic. I did not feel like I was just another dollar sign to them. The peace of this one is excellent.

The room was great, nice and clean, the ocean view room is worth the extra charge - the view was incredible!!! Very close to the beach, staff was exceptional, pool was great for relaxing at the end of the day. Highly recommend staying here! Has all the quality you expect from Best Western!!

We enjoyed our stay at this motel. We arrived in the dark and didn't know exactly what our view was but in the morning, when I looked out of the window, I saw we are perched on a cliff across the street from the ocean - beautiful. The room was fine, nothing special, we slept well, and breakfast was basic. A successful stay!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were really clean. View was beautiful! Daily breakfast was delicious. Location was very near to where we were working. This was our second time staying and we look forward to a third.

This hotel is a small property. We took an ocean view room, it's not as close to the ocean as I thought it would be so that was a disappointment but still a good hotel option. Room was on the 2nd floor, quiet and clean room. The hotel is just 2 min drive to Skunk Train meeting point, Glass Beach and other restaurants located on the Main St, less than 10 min to Mendocino Botanical Gardens, less than half hour drive to Russian Gulch State Park and Van Damme State Park. Overall a decent hotel, nice and spacious room with a view of the ocean and close to most attractions.

Loved the hotel and the offer military discount. Nice view of the ocean from our room. Saw whales out our large window. The check in was smooth, bed comfortable and the free breakfast was delicious. It was exactly what we were looking for after a 5 hour drive up the coast on highway 1.

We love staying in this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet, with great views of the ocean from the balcony. You can walk down to the beach or along the bluffs. We especially love walking downtown to have a craft cocktail and an excellent dinner.

I was born in Fort Bragg (but now live in NY) and was visiting for Christmas at my Aunts house (along with about 30 others). She reserved hotel rooms for several family members coming in from out of town. We stayed three nights. We had, from what I can tell, the room with the best view (my brother had the room below us) with an unobstructed view of the pudding creek bridge and beach. We could easily hear the waves breaking when opening a window. The staff was quite friendly and efficient. The rooms were a good size with very comfortable beds, and very clean. The breakfast was very good, though as someone else mentioned, the same every day (the muffins were excellent though). A couple of negative points though... Although our room was available when I arrived (around 10am) we were told that we could not check-in until 3PM. I realize that most hotels have a check-in time in the late afternoon, but most hotels will also let guests check in if the room is available. Fortunately, we were able to spend time visiting my aunt until we could check in. The room was a bit cold when we first checked in so we turned on the floor electric heater to "6". It was comfortable the first night and even the second, but by the third night it go so hot that we woke up sweating. It doesn't have a modern thermostat so it's just a guess on how high to set the heater, and it seemed to take a couple of days before it got too hot. Overall it was an enjoyable stay. It's a great location and I'd most likely stay here again the next time I come back to Fort Bragg.

Stayed in Fort Bragg as we made our way down the coast. The guest services and management were very friendly and made for a great experience. The rooms are a little dated but clean. Please note that this hotel is not directly on the ocean but across the street.

Passing through on our way up the coast. Stayed in the building up the hill from the main office. The outside looks a little older but the rooms inside were updated, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Room was a little warm but it was a chilly night, so it was fine for us. Good breakfast, nice view. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommending a place for dinner. Felt cozy and loved the dogs behind the front desk.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel in early October. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast adequate, if monotonous. We were assigned a first floor room in a building a short walk from the office building. We did not hear noise from the rooms next to ours, but the noise from upstairs was deafening! During our stay, there were at least 2 different parties occupying the upstairs room, but just their footsteps sounded like horses up there! Our biggest problem was getting keycards that actually opened our door. We were given 2 cards upon check-in - only one worked, so we went back to office. To make a long story short, it took FOUR trips to the office to get 2 cards that would open our door! Otherwise our stay was fine.

I didn't follow my own advice and failed to read enough reviews. We speak the truth. Hot, stuffy and noisy. Simple as that. Ask for a fan upon check in, you'll need it. Wish I'd known THEN I had the option. (Also, why optional? Just put fans in the rooms already!) Can't leave the windows open, road noise is all night long. Without AC, even in September, our room was uncomfortable, I was desperate for moving air! Luckily it was just one night. Staff is nice enough, breakfast was just okay. Though I am a rewards member, I doubt we'll stay there again.

Beautiful location! We loved walking to the beach, biking on the haul road, Noyo headlands trail, and wandering the bluffs. It is a wonderful location. The room was not super modern, but comfortable and clean. We slept well on the bed. The shower was nice and hot and drained well. The room was hot in the afternoon/evening, but we opened the sliding door and used the provided fan. The ocean breezes cooled it right down. It was nice to sit on the balcony looking toward the ocean and Pudding Creek. We did not notice highway noises, just the ocean waves. We would have appreciated a microwave in the room and an electrical outlet near the bedside table. Be aware that half of the rooms are in another building up the road from the office/lobby. They overlook the highway and Pudding Creek on one side and a quiet forested cemetery on the other. It is a 2.5 minute walk downhill on a private road to the office/lobby/breakfast area. Good selection for breakfast. Cheerful, friendly breakfast attendant, needs to work on wiping or mopping up sticky spots! We often stay at Best Westerns and this seemed a little pricey for the room we got. I guess you are paying for the location.

Having a handicapped family member is a challenge. Staff at this hotel went out of their way to make sure I had no issues, from opening doors to stretching the morning dining area time to providing extra room supplies.

Rooms have no A/C. Realize we are on the coast and it is very cool at nite but you can't leave the windows open because you are on the 101 highway and traffic is heavy most hours. No fans either The inddor pool was ok, but when we were swimming in it we encountered human feces. Nasty. Not really their fault but still. They closed the pool for about 10 hours after netting the poop off the bottom of the pool, re chlorinated it and re opened it. Yuck We recieved 25.00 dollars off our stay, Wanted a bit more but "all they could do". Being a business man i would never have charged someone for the room at that point. Just dissapointed in the stay.

Can't believe all units have no air conditioning system !!! We had a bad night with a hot room with no chance to open the windows because screen windows were poorly installed Hotel should do better for its price stay !!

The hotel is very nice. The staff is also very helpful. I especially liked the breakfast room and food. The room was spacious and clean. Being close to the ocean it was nice and cool. The only down side is that your open slider is right next to the road and it is very noisy.

While the property is a little dated, the staff was attentive, free breakfast included waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, muffins and cereal including almond milk and soy milk alternatives, located right across highway 1 from the beach which is fun to explore. We could even see the ocean a little from our room. Beds were comfortable. The hotel is very close to highway 1 so you could hear road noise but was able to sleep fine. Would stay here again. Does have a small indoor pool but we didn't use.

Very happy with our stay here. BW is a trustworthy brand for us - no matter where we are, we know the room will be above par. As usual, this property did not disappoint. Extra comfy mattresses, great linens and other amenities. Good enough internet, tho sometimes a bit slow. Almost always a little more dough, but then you get what you pay for, right?

The pros: Staff was very pleasant, lobby and grounds clean, breakfast options (fresh waffles, oatmeal, muffins, etc) was very good. The cons: for the price of the rooms, do not stay in the second building. This is obviously the coach side of the property. While it was not dirty, that building is in desperate need of remodel. Room did not have a microwave, the TV had some kind of satellite cable that required entering (-) to get to certain channels yet the remote had to option to enter a (-). We had no screen on the sliding door to the balcony so couldn't leave the door open for ventilation and the room was stuffy and warm. No AC but did have a good floor fan which helped. Be aware that the 2nd building does have balcony rooms but you have a very limited view of the ocean. Pool area is very dark and musty and enough chlorine to make your eyes water . Need to open the windows for circulation and to help with musty/stuffiness. Overall if you are just looking for a bed to sleep in this hotel is a viable option. We were on a family trip though and wanted more for our money.

Very satisfied with our stay, We stayed in the three room cottage while in Ft. Bragg. It had lots of room and was better than described. The staff was very friendly...we will stay her again on our next trip.

The hotel needs a lot of work. The air conditioner did not function very well. The bathroom had a hook that was barely attached to the door and there was peeling paint. The noise level was terrible. We could hear every foot step in the room above. There was a nice view of the ocean but that did not make up for everything else for the price we paid.

This was our third multi day stay at the BW Manor Lodge. We've stayed in the 2 and 3 bedroom cottages as we travel with my 92 yr old mom and we all want privacy, but don't want to shuffle her off into a fully separated room. Usually, adjoining rooms would cost the same. Having a nice living area and her own room that is fully private yet accessible is perfect.

We return to BW Vista Manor Lodge several times a year to enjoy the beach across the street and Fort Bragg. Breakfast is good, the rooms are nice and the sound of the ocean is soothing. We take a morning walk along the coast, enjoying the wildlife and ocean.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience. The only issue was that uppon check in the room wasn't available at 3 pm as we were told because housekeeping was taking a long time so we had to wait outside for a while. Also the pool was cold and uninviting, i think a hot tub wouldn't be a bad investment for this location.

I stayed here the day after July 4th with my wife and daughter. The accommodations were adequate - appreciated the sink outside the bathroom. Our room had a great view through the pedestrian bridge to the ocean across the street. Beautiful to wake up to! The breakfast was basic but enough to hit the road with.

Lovely natural property setting with quiet rooms and relaxed feel. Good breakfast and the beach and trail just across the highway. The motel is on a bluff across from the beach. There are picnic benches and some open space to enjoy. There is a balcony on upper floor rooms that allowed for a nice ocean breeze and partial lagoon view.

I stayed there last night. The place is a dump that has been painted recently. There are only so many times you can paint over the walls and trim of an old room. It was an unusually warm day. When I got to my room around 3:15, it was about 90 degrees inside. I had an upstairs room, facing the ocean (west). There is no mechanical ventilation in the rooms. They only have electric baseboard heaters. The only way to vent the unit is to open the door and the window. One window had a broken spring and wouldn't open. The other had a hole in the screen. There were a few bugs in the room - found them on the walls and carpet (I'm not squeamish), just don't think there should be ANY bugs. The shower diverter is broken so only half the water made it to the shower head. Breakfast wasn't good. I didn't complain because when I checked in, it was clear that the desk person could have care less about anything. This hotel is shaming the Best Western brand and is shaming the wonderful community of Fort Bragg. Update this place or stop operating.

From our experience the place was clean and comfortable. The place is showing it's age but I don't see that as a problem. There is a cemetery next door but they make for quite neighbors. The breakfast was absolutely terrible. Rubber egg. Old bread. Cold oatmeal, just short of gross. They did have cereal which made it doable, but we should have looked first then walked out. I get that a motel breakfast is not usually fancy but this one was one of the worst I've seen for a Best Western

We stayed at this motel at the end of May. I think the pictures that are posted here are dishonest. The property is quite dated. The carpet in the room was very worn and seemed very unclean. There was a used hand towel on the floor of the restroom and there were hairs of a private nature on the floor of the restroom as well. The most insulting issue was that when our neighbors flushed the toilet, our shower became ice cold. We only stayed one night on our way through town. The pool area had a giant spider inside the gate when you first enter and it was very dated and moist. I realize pools are wet, but the whole area had a slimy feeling to me. I'm sorry, but this is the least nice hotel I have ever stayed in. It could be really nice, but it needs a lot of work. It is noisy, but I think that's to be expected since it is right by the main road. I don't think people should be upset about that because no amount of windows will be fixing that. If you want super quiet, I'd stay elsewhere.

What we enjoyed was the small patio area we had off our room with a picnic table overlooking the ocean. We didn't pay extra for the ocean view so we were sent down to the second wing about 100ms from the main building. We ended up having the whole building for ourself! The check in process was fine with no complaints, the pool was decent but nothing spectacular and the breakfast was great. What was weird about the place was that it actually overlooks a cemetery! There is a tall fence along the parking lot with gravestones literally a stones throw from your door. We chose not to tell our kids about this until the morning when we were packing up. Before bed the first night we needed to check for something under the bed and found a huge dead centipede! We looked a little further and found another! So if you're okay sleeping next to the dead- people and bugs, then this place is okay! If not you may want to look elsewhere...

just across the highway is the ocean. a direct view from the top floor and if you open the windows you can fully hear the sea. the air is fresh and clean, the hotel is well kept and no other building is in the way of the view. only one town away from Mendocino, Fort Bragg is a great location to stay and this best western is reasonably priced compared to other hotels in Mendocino.

First, it is important to note that the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good, but it was a lot of small things that made our stay less than desirable. LOCATION. When we checked in, we were told we had a "partial ocean view". Only if we left the room and walking to the edge of the property. HEAT. It was 52F outside and the same inside the room. We turned up the thermostat and a 1/2 hour later the temperature hadn't changed and there was barely a breath coming out of the baseboard heater, half of the heater was behind the dresser! We called the front desk and were told "it takes a while". The room never got beyond 70F. ICE. The reference book in the room said their was ice and vending across from building 2 where we were staying, by the cottage and outside the office. The ice machine across from our building didn't work and there was no machine outside the cottage so I put on my coat and walked to the office to get ice. I told them the machine outside building 2 didn't work and she said "Did you push the button?" Did she think I was trying to use mental telepathy to make it work???? VENDING. We had a big lunch so thought a bag of chips or something work do the trick. Despite what it said in the book, there was no vending machine at all across from building 2 and the one by the office was completely empty. HOUSEKEEPING. Again, the room was clean, so no complaints there, but the glasses were not replaced nor was the shampoo, forcing us to decide which of us was going to wash our hair as there wasn't enough for two. We expect better.

This is a very old and noisy hotel. It sits right above highway 1 and the windows are single pane so the road noise is pretty loud and there is a lot of traffic! The employees were not very friendly like I am used to seeing at BW. Maybe it's the lack of sunshine. The guy that checked us in was not friendly at all.

Friendly staff, nice rooms. Highway is a little noisy. Beds were very comfortable, TV channels were great and WiFi was good. Would be nice if there were screen doors with the sliding door, so we could have open more and not worry about bugs, but I know these get damaged easily so I understand them removing them.

For hotels in the area, this was a good one. We had a paid reservation at another place in town but left because it was nasty. BW was much better. The drains are slow in the bathroom so I let management know. The breakfast was a typical BW breakfast. The balcony with the fresh sea breeze was really nice. The road next to the BW starts getting quiet around 9pm so it wasn't bothersome. Would stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights with our friends and kids. The first night all was well until we returned from dinner to find ourselves unable to get back in our room. It took being assertive to finally get the manager to come down and open our door with the master key card. Next morning we discovered a stiff washcloth stuck on the curtain rod of the shower. Ants in our bathroom sink as well. We requested a microwave upon check in and were told we would have one the next day. It never arrived. Day 2, our used bath towels were removed from our room but our room was not cleaned and we did not receive new towels. I asked a lady at the front desk for more towels and she explained the housekeepers were gone for the day but I could take some towels up to my room myself. I informed the manager of these issues, but I don't think he truly cared.

We only stayed 1-night however we found the Best Western very clean & comfortable. On the outside of town, but very close to beach & walking/biking trails. Staff were extremely friendly & funny. The breakfast is thought out, a little bit of everything for everyone. A little pricey for 1-night however when weighting all the advantages it was worth the price & will stay here again.

Convenient location on a hill with ocean view. Hotel is along the hwy but not too noisy since building is above the hwy. You can walk to the beach from the hotel. The room is clean and spacious breakfast area. Highly recommended.

This hotel has great views of the Pudding beach area with a perfect view of the Wesley Chesbro Pudding Creek Trestle. Indoor heated pool, great help yourself breakfast with scrambled eggs in a large room with a fireplace. The staff is great and room clean with everything you love about Best Westerns. Large rooms, nice bed with good selection of pillows, big screen TV's and did I mention that great view of the beach at pudding creek.

This is a great place to stay, right across from the beach. There is actually a little pathway that you take and walk under the road to get across to the beach. We had a lovely time. It is so convenient

Nice place, clean, comfortable beds. Nice people treated us really good. Went with five couples on a motorcycle trip. They were nice to all of us. Very accommodating. Good breakfast for a hotel. Good selection of food. Great service

Pleasantly surprised by this motel, which we found on the fly as darkness set over our coastal drive. We got a partial ocean view room but it was dark anyway; there was a balcony but it was accessible to other rooms so we couldn't leave the window open all night to hear the ocean, which was a bummer. Still, the motel was clean, the beds comfortable, the bathroom amenities a bit better than other motels on the stay, and we slept well. The breakfast was the best one offered along our stay, and we had eggs and sausage and waffles and were quite happy. Nice breakfast dining room area with plenty of room for many.

This hotel may be a little retro and in need of updating but it was quiet, friendly, clean and the staff members were always friendly and helpful. The grounds needed a little work but the overall it was pleasant.

A hotel with a gorgeous view, and walk to the ocean. Staff very cordial and caring. Ideal for family vacation along with children.I had been to this property in the past as well. The quality of service has been consistent.

We stayed for two nights while visiting friends, and it was okay but not great. Hard to explain, but kind of run down and sad. The room was serviceable but no microwave. The breakfast was adequate and the pool was okay. We wouldn't stay here again. Difficult to find the driveway from the highway. We stay in Best Westerns a lot and this isn't the best.

After shopping all hotels located on the coastline, this was the best deal for the price. I confirmed you could see the ocean, hear the waves crashing and that they has a decent continental breakfast. It was all that and more. The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful (with tourist things to do, tide schedules and restaurant recommendations), and the breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausage links. It was a wonderful long weekend vacation!

This is surprisingly expensive for a slightly rundown hotel out of season. The room was ok. It's a bit dated and the carpet could do with replacing. Breakfast was again okay but nothing special. As an overnight stop on a road trip was fine but I wouldn't want to stay there longer.

Everyone there was extremely kind and helpful! Charming hotel with a retro feel! Great experience for our entire family! We highly recommend staying there when you travel to fort Bragg for business or pleasure!

...Nothing felt right either. It didn't seem up to the usual standards of a BW. This is a large motor lodge near Glass Beach, outside of Fort Bragg. Parking is in the back, close in, near the room's private entrance. There are outside stairs to the second story and no elevator. The room was a suite with a large living area and a gas fireplace. It felt damp when we first entered. The view looked out across the property's front yard, the highway, the beach-grass shoreline, and farther out, the water. The bedroom was adequate; it had one queen bed, which was soft, and faced the rear with windows that opened toward the parking lot. There was some parking lot noise (from motorcycles) and also some noise from the highway in the front. The bedroom had less of that noise. It was lit with a yellowish light, and adjoined the bath, which also opened out to the living area. This was small and not well lit with the same yellowish light and not bright enough. There was no counter-top space in the bathroom. There was a double sized pull-out sofa bed in the living area. We liked the location. We arrived without reservations. We didn't really feel comfortable during our stay. And we thought we were overcharged. The breakfast was adequate, the usual BW fare.

This hotel is near hwy one so there is some traffic noise but the limited view of the ocean and the waves crashing make up for it. The rooms are large and the balcony makes for a pleasant relaxing view of the swans and other bird life are marvelous!!!!

This was a nice hotel with breakfast provided. The room was clean. We had a nice view of the sunset. They have an indoor pool, but we didn't use it. The hotel sits onto of a bluff overlooking Highway 1 and the beach. Would stay here again.

We went to Ft. Bragg and stayed here for 3 Days and 2 nights. We were very pleased with the room, location and friendly service. Their breakfasts are super! They had a good variety for a hardy breakfast of waffles, hot or cold drinks, boiled eggs and a spacious dining area for the many guests that were there. The view of a walking bridge with the ocean in the background was beautiful and was just a short distance to get to if one wanted to get to it. It was wonderful to feel the cool breeze blowing our hair and into our faces. So refreshing. We rode the Skunk Train and learned a bit of history of the area. Fort Bragg is the name of the city and started as a military garrison. It's a great historical town to visit.

Very nice hotel, again booked via Expedia at short notice. Very clean hotel and the room was larger than the normal hotel room. The breakfast was up to Best Western standards not a large selection but plenty. Nice hotel, i would stay here again

The décor is very old and tired and just uninviting and ugly. The room also had a musty smell. The lobby was nice and I will say the staff was very helpful and friendly. We stopped here because it is very close to the famous "glass beach''. If you look up the glass beach in Fort Bragg on the internet, it does not look anything like the pictures. It was a total, complete disappointment. It has been completely picked over. Also, it is not handicap accessible if you are in a wheel chair.

This is my good to place when I stay in Fort Bragg. It is an older hotel but has been kept up. The staff here is friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice sized with plenty of room to get comfortable. Breakfast has good choices and plenty of seating.

Four night stay at Vista Manor Lodge, in my opinion, is a mostly working mans motel. It is a no frills facility/ location. It was clean. It is overpriced. Trying to pick a decent place to stay is a crap shoot at best having never been there or the area before. Would I stay there again? NO!

This was a good night for us. Just wrapped up a coastal road trip. Our room was second floor and had a pretty water view. The room was very well cared for. We liked the high ceilings and the fact we could sleep with the window open, both lovely. Breakfast in the AM was also ample and good quality. Our kids were disappointed that the pool seemed to be off limits, tarp pulled over it as to suggest not available. Instead we visited Glass Beach and enjoyed the natural surroundings.

We arrived for a late check-in. There was a phone and registration was simple even when the host had to come down to rekey the key cards. Friendly staff and comfortable room. Breakfast was great as well. Everything we needed.

This hotel served our needs while we visited Fort Bragg. We were traveling with our grandson and he loved the pool. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Room was clean. Friendly helpful staff. Nice landscape.

Was a great stay (8/7/2018-8/10/2018), grounds were well kept, indoor pool was clean and kid friendly, free breakfast was awesome with fresh waffles, fruits, eggs, sausage, and breads. Quiet for the most part unless it gets busy but there were no parties going on. Rooms were clean, service was great with lots of hospitality and knowledge of the area. They even had a privately owned property chicken that greeted me as I walked to the office, walked right up to me to say hi. After leaving I left my phone charger behind in the room and after searching the house and gave up I suddenly got a package in the mail with the charger inside! Thank you so much! Was not expecting that! Overall, yes I recommend this place!

We have stayed at the Best Western Vista Manor Lodge, before. For us it is a great escape from the Sacramento valley heat. The room has always been comfortable and clean. We can look out the window and enjoy looking at the surf just across the road. We also enjoy the bright flowers. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant. I only have one little complaint. The lodge has replaced the full sized waffle maker with four little waffles. The little waffles and not crispy and they tend to stick in the waffle iron. Other than that the breakfast was very nice and all of the food was hot or cold depending on the item. The trip was for our 58th anniversary and the good Lord willing we will be back for the 59th.

The staff was friendly and room was clean. Great location for the price. We so enjoyed opening the slider and breathing the sea air. If breakfast was stepped up it would be amazing. Don't hesitate to book.

I travel by motorcycle and stayed here on my way down the coast from Washington/Oregon. Scored a second floor room that overlooked the trestle and ocean. Room was clean. Showing it's age a little around the edges but everything worked including the wifi. Slept very well in the comfy bed.

We recently stayed at the Best Western in Fort Bragg. The room was comfortable and we had a great view of the ocean. The only drawback was that the bed was way too soft. Price was reasonable and they offer a nice continental breakfast.

This stay was a an unexpected jaunt to Fort Bragg so our friends could check glass beach off their bucket list. We grabbed the last two rooms at Best Western on a recommendation from a bus boy at a restaurant in town. His friend's parents owned it. We were pleasantly surprised by the super fast check in; the cleanliness of the rooms (which I am a little crazy about); the view in the morning; and the awesome breakfast! We were told there would be a continental breakfast, however, this was eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, bagels, etc As breakfast was closing, one of the employees went around to everyone and asked if we wanted anything else before she began putting items away. It was amazing customer service! Also, we met the owner, Kuami, who chatted with us for a bit a told us funny stories about the two beautiful Aistralian Shepherds who reside there with them. While it was quick stop, it was fantastic!

I have been to BW Vista Manor Lodge 3 times. When I think of Fort Bragg, I know I get to stay at Best Western. The location is perfect, across the street and in view of Pudding Creek and the Pacific Ocean. Across the highway is coastal access to a beautiful walking or biking path, a path that goes north to Mekerricher State Park and beyond. The path has recently been developed to go south, along the shore ridge of the entire town of Fort Bragg, from north of town to Noyo Harbor. Whether you walk or bike, you will enjoy the whole experience. This Best Western is one of only a few hotels that have a view of the ocean. The breakfast is fantastic, making it a great beginning of your day. I enjoy the use of the indoor pool, as well. Staff and amenities are top notch. I know this review sounds 'to-good-to-be-true', but it is real. I have NO affiliation with BW or the staff at Vista Manor. I am just a very satisfied customer. LOL .... I am even planning to book a late arrival of Christmas Day with Vista Manor..... giving myself the gift of pacific beauty for Christmas. So, after the Christmas Eve loving family experience, I will enjoy the following morning, knowing I get to be in Fort Bragg at Vista Manor.

We rented the 3 bedroom cottage for a family trip with 7 people. More than enough room for all of us! Very well kept, separate from the rest of the hotel so it's very private. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, everyone got a great nights sleep. The breakfast was hot and very good, hot waffles, hot scrambled eggs & sausage, a lot of good choices for a free continental breakfast. Great hotel!!

You need the second floor rooms to see the sea. The ground floors give you a partial view, but the sound of the waives will put you to sleep and drowns out the traffic noise. I do not know what more you could ask for, a good night sleep and a very good breakfast.

I chose this hotel because of previous reviews and a very good price. I wasn't disappointed. Right across the street from the ocean and easy access to a walking trail across a trestle to walking trails along the headlands. Walk to Dennys or Great Burger. The hotel itself is clean and rooms are updated. Everything works, including strong WiFi. Very comfortable bed, shower, and a better than average free breakfast. The only annoyance was the road noise.

Have stayed here before. There is a reason I come back low prices and quiet. I have never had the breakfast due to tradition of going to loral's deli. This was the first time we used the pool it was warm and inclosed making it just right for a cool may day. love getting a balcony room but loose some ocean view.

We drove our Corvette up the coast and this Best Western room just added to how good the day and trip were. Check in was a breeze, the room was just want we wanted, and the bed was great. The continental breakfast was good and we back on the road well rested and satisfied.

Pleasant, well-maintained property. The spacious. Park-like setting would be ideal for dog walking . I'd like to come back with my wife, but the no dog policy makes that unlikely. Most BW do allow dogs, so it should not really be a problem.

Two adults and a teenager stayed here for three nights. Check in was a little difficult when we tried to check in just after 3 in the afternoon (check-in is 3 pm) but our room was not ready. I left my cell phone number and went across the highway to the beach to kill time. We got a call about 35 minutes later, not a huge deal. Complimentary breakfast was ok and consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, bread for toasting, yogurt, dry cereals, a waffle maker for making your own waffles and several juices and coffee. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. TV was hooked to cable and got a lot of channels and free HBO. I would probably stay again if we were in the area. The beach was just across highway 1 and our room and a beach view that was excellent!!

We LOVED this place! Great view from the room of the bridge and the Ocean. There was unavoidable noise from the Hwy but I chose to ignore it and leave the door open and enjoy the sounds of the surf. With the glass door closed there was NO noise. Very good breakfast and we very much enjoyed visiting with the owner and her sweet dogs. Good service from everyone here. We REALLY liked this Hotel! We will most definitely stay again if in Fort Bragg.

The hotel was clean and nice. Not luxury, but a nice, average priced option. This hotel has a good ocean/beach view, though the main road (Hwy 1) sits between it (the hotel is on a bluff) and the beach. Consequently, in an effort to have beach views, you also have traffic noise. The proximity to touristy areas and beach access is very good.

Management was extremely nice & informative. Room was clean, roomy and comfortable with an Ocean View. Exceptional for the price. Breakfast was very good, property well maintained and they had a beautiful indoor pool area.

We stayed here for 1 night while in Fort Bragg and I'm glad it was only 1 night. The outside looks a little sketchy and the front desk service was very sub par. The morning breakfast was good but the lobby was packed. They had a hard time keeping up filling the food for guests. Upon checking out their was a dog behind the front desk walking in & our of the kitchen area where the breakfast food was being served. I like dogs but not ones in a kitchen where food being prepared for guests. I personally will NOT come back to this property. I wouldn't go back to Fort Bragg at all. We found the town to be dumpy; there are MUCH better places to go on the California coast.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. It is important to ask for the 2nd building away from the office in terms of the freeway noise. The last time i stayed I was told that this building was closed for refurbishing, and was unhappily put in the building across from the office. The Hwy 1 noise is very loud in this building, day and night. The next time I plan a visit to Fort Bragg i will make sure the 2nd building is available. Other that that it is in a good location near downtown and the beautiful coastal walk at Glass Beach.

This hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a nice ocean view from our upstairs room. The room also had a deck in the back that was great for outside relaxing. This is an older hotel but it's been updated nicely and is well maintained.

Enjoyed an over night during spring break with my daughter. Area provides ample entertainment and hiking for us as well as good dining. Vista Manor is my go to home away from home. I am not too impressed with tripadvisor because of small fraction of those that can be surveyed; not a quantity or quality representation.

Clean room, relaxing pool, delicious breakfast. The pool was warmer in the morning when they first took the cover off than it was the night before, but both times we adjusted to the water temperature.

Not a new hotel but good location with view of water....not a waterfront location though. Pool was covered so you'd have to ask for the cover to be removed. Breakfast was usual and well attended to. Room was clean and even though older was pleasant

We stayed in a view room with a king bed. The accommodation was up to date, comfortable, and clean. The view was lovely. The grounds have been well cared for. This is one of those properties that feels like home. I'd love to stay here again!

Very nice people. Clean rooms. Great view even at ground level. They serve a decent hot breakfast of sausage links and scrambled eggs. Waffle maker. Cold cereal. Juices. The beds could be a bit more firm for me but a good nights sleep was had.

The motel is well run, quiet, clean, and staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the bed was quite uncomfortable, bring down this review. Otherwise my review would be in the excellent range.

Nice room, great view, some noise from the nearby highway. The kids loved the indoor pool and the lobby was nice, as was the staff. The door locks needed to be re-programmed when we arrived, which took some time.

Super clean room, which was very well kept. The breakfast was good, with enough choices for most. The area was fabulous! Right downtown were beaches and some spectacular views. I'd stay there again, and certainly recommend it to others.

I had a nice stay. Booked a suite with queen room. Very nice view towards the beach from the living room. However, it took a long time to warm up the living room area with the fireplace (no other heater). The heat in the bedroom was better. The breakfast was good with lots of choices. Given the time of year, I paid a little more than usual for the room, hence the 3 for value. Overall it was a good stay.

Nice view of the ocean from the balcony, great breakfast, nicely furnished and clean room. We like to walk to dinner at night from the hotel and this location allowed that as well as walk along ocean to return.

We stayed here for 4 nights. This hotel definitely has clean rooms! Which is important. The location near town & across from the beach make it ideal. BUT....be warned that the street noise from Route 1 outside your window is loud. You can hear the cars zipping by all day & all night. This is an older hotel so the windows are terrible. They are so thin, dirty, and flimsy. They could do a better job with making your stay more comfortable if they just replace the windows with some modern double-paned ones. I had an awful time sleeping at this property, even with ear plugs in (had to buy them from the local CVS). Our room was ocean view, upper floored so maybe different rooms on their property have less street noise?! Many hotels/motels are located right off Route 1 like this Best Western but what makes some different from others is the updated features (good thick modern windows = happier guests!!).

The hotel was really good, breakfast was good. I loved the location, I could see the ocean and it was tucked away from the highway making it quite. The building's where spread out, that was nice. No microwave in room though.

The hotel was a great location for Glass Beach and Mackerricher State Park. Great view from our hotel room, which was supposed to be a "partial view". The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. The staff was accommodating. Overall we found the hotel to be a good value.

We LOVE staying here when we come to Fort Bragg!!! The view from our rooms is great- family of 10, including extended family, so a total of four rooms. Always very clean, and the staff is always helpful- Gayle at the front desk, Dewey the maintenance man, and the various housekeeping staff are phenomenal!!! The owners, Kwami and Kulvita, are so friendly and helpful- and they allow us to take over the dining area for large family meals after the complementary continental breakfast is over. The kids enjoy spending time in the indoor pool, and the easy access to pudding creek and the beach. It's an easy 5 minutes drive into town or 15 minute walk... We have been bringing the family to this hotel for the past 15 years at least once a year, and we plan to continue for the foreseeable future!!!

Nice view of ocean from room 417, but you could hear street noise. Staff very helpful, nice breakfast. Water take a while to get hot in morning. Baseboard heaters, room nice and comfy. My son stayed across street at Beachcomber, aside from being able to walk out my door to beach, felt that my room was better and I could wake across street to beach.

This is an old property, but well maintained, bargain rates, and we enjoyed our 3-day stay in the northernmost room on the 2nd floor. The hotel sits on a hill and the view from our room of Pudding Creek Trestle Bridge was absolutely gorgeous and it was a treat to observe many beautiful water birds in the marshy creek habitat from our room. Walking across the busy road for ocean trail access is very scary, but the hotel was just a 15-minute walk to spectacular glass beach. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming, but as for the free breakfast, stick with coffee or oatmeal, or just go out.

Older hotel that is clean with a great view of Fort Bragg Beach and Pacific Ocean. All you have to do is walk across the Highway and you at looking at the beautiful sand and surf! Breakfast foods are limited but plentiful. Coffee is hot! Limited staff stocking breakfast. Rooms are standard but views are breathtaking. Fall is the best time to visit.

Loved the place. Right across the road from the beach up on the hill. Had a beautiful view from our room. Good hot breakfast including build your own waffle and the oatmeal. Good WIFI for my work and beautiful landscape with lot of different types of plants

The room was basic as they come, but it was clean. facing a very busy highway 1 kept us tossing and turning all night. they really need some insulated windows to decrease the noise. staff was friendly enough. just a bare bones basic set up

This is not up to Best Western standards. Two story units with no elevator. No kleenex in the room. Breakfast consisted of bread, cereal, and fake maple syrup. No air conditioning, not a good view, pricey, dirty carpet.

We spent two nights at this Best Western. My wife uses a wheel chair. The pavement was very uneven for it. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable. We were not able to stay in the ADA room, which made it harder, but this was a last minute trip. The scrambled eggs weren't very good, but the rest of the breakfast was fine.

Lovely hotel in a quiet position just out of town. Had a very clean and well presented room with an ocean view. Breakfast was very good and I appreciated the member of staff taking the trouble to check on packaging to see if the sausages were gluten free (something staff in other hotels I have stayed at seemed unwilling to do). Reception staff also very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to use this place again in future.

Cute little motel on the coast. My husband's parents live next door, in the mobile home park. We decided to stay here, since it's so close. We were in 407. King bed. Huge! And SUPER comfortable! We travel a lot. 9 out of 10 beds are either super uncomfortable, or just meh. The ones that are good, are usually high end Hotels. We were extremely impressed with the bed. Room was very clean. Vanity area. Closet with an extra blanket. Iron. Hair dryer. Large t.v. fridge. Coffee pot. All the amenities you could need. They have an indoor pool. We didn't use that. They have breakfast from 7-10. We didn't go. But it looks like they have a good selection. Not just cheap pastries and coffee. I saw a waffle iron. Very quiet. We had a beautiful view of the pudding creek bridge, and ocean. At night, with the window open, you can hear the ocean. The staff is super friendly. We had a great stay. We will use this place again in future visits.

Comfortable place. Clean. Came with free breakfast that could use some improvement, scramble eggs were green and I saw another guest blowing cribs out of the waffle maker. Dogs live on premises and are friendly.

Good place to stay. Room was quiet, bit of road noise but traffic all but disappeared in the evening. Nice view towards the water. Very friendly staff. Usual hotel breakfast. Driveway is a bit rough when you first turn onto it so be aware if you're on a motorcycle.

Room was average but had a great view of bridge and ocean. It was a short walk to glass beach which was very interesting and provided a nice collection of ocean sanded glass. I would not make it a destination stay but it was adequate for overnight

Great location and overall good stay. Breakfast was excellent but I think they were a little irritated with my children as I have 4 year old triplets and a 2 year old and they don't sit still all the time

Not very inspiring from the outside. Room ok. Supposedly special cleaning device had been used in most common areas but this obviously did not apply to the patio window! Problem was a yapping dog 2 doors down and, bearing in mind this motel has a no pets policy which was the reason we had booked it, we were somewhat annoyed. Phoned reception and was told it was a service dog whose paperwork had been checked. But it is yapping said I and service dogs in the UK would not yap like that. I was told the owner must have gone out and left it. But if it was a service dog surely they would need to take it with them. On return from a meal out the dog was still yapping so I went to the front desk to query its presence again. This time I got a totally different story. Reception staff are not allowed to request the appropriate paperwork re a service dog so people may bring pets in telling staff they were service dogs. The said member of staff phoned the owner and asked them to return as the dog was disturbing other customers. We noted that 2 motels on the other side of the road catered for dogs so WHY was one permitted here. Interestingly our next motel fined anyone with a pet and offered to provide accommodation elsewhere if they were with their owners. Breakfast can only be described as adequate. But full marks to the lady who kept everything filled up and very clean.

Fort Bragg is one of our favorite places for a two or three day get away. While older (I would guess dating to the 1960s), this hotel is clean, updated and well-managed. The beds were comfortable, the baseboard heat worked when we needed it, the internet connection was stable and the staff was friendly. This is not a five star luxury hotel, but for those who are satisfied with a friendly place to lay your head after a day of hiking or walking along the beach, it fits the bill. Do not expect air conditioning (it is rarely warm enough to need it) or mints on the pillows. The breakfast is what you expect at a chain motel. There is a waffle maker, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and sausage and the usual assortment of dry cereal and muffins/bagels and bread. There is adequate space in the breakfast room even when the hotel is full as it was when we were there. One complaint is that the windows are old aluminum frame and not double paned. The motel sits on the east side of Highway 1, and when truck traffic starts about 6 AM, it can be noisy. Our view was of the trestle and Pudding Creek, but the beach and ocean were visible behind the trestle. There is beach access by walking through a culvert so that you don't have to risk life and limb running across Highway 1. If you are looking for a clean, friendly place to stay, you'll like this hotel. If you want fancy, you'll want to stay somewhere else.

Just spent the 1 night and found the room very stuffy due to no fan or air conditioning. Had to keep door open to let in some cool air in but everything else was good. Beds were soft and room clean and comfortable apart from the lack of air. Good location above the road way and away from the noise of the traffic. Across the road from the surf and short distance to shops and food.

Very nice room with nice view. Good staff. Close to beach and nice restaurants . Noyo Harbor was a nice place to visit also. Lots of shops to visit with many types of things in them. Skunk railroad is a nice way to spend the day either by yourself or with family members.

The staff was very friendly at check in and was cheerful even though we arrived at 10:30 p.m. We had driven in a long way form southern Oregon. It was nice having everything ready when we arrived. We were able to hear the ocean from our room. The only complaint I have is that this hotel backs up to California Highway 1. We heard a lot of road noise in the morning. Other than that we were quite satisfied

Drove up and was disappointed that the hotel looked older from the outside. Walked into the lobby and realized it had be totally redone, very modern, happy with the remodeled rooms. Grounds are nice with lots of wellkept plants and flowers

So this hotel/motel doesn't have AC, sound proof windows (which seeing I'm on a major street means it's noisy as heck) nor does it have all the toiletries (luckily I always bring extra). Yay me! Good thing it's only for one night. The view is incredible but the rest is seriously lacking. I also don't care for the bathroom windows being along the main walkway, so it feels like anyone can press their face and see in or the fact that there's a creepy little door next to my room that doesn't go to another room. Makes me think of a two-way mirror room where people are spying or recording you. Lastly there's not enough plugs in the room to charge electronics. I had to unplug a lamp that didn't even work to get 1 free plug. I'll be lucky if I get sleep tonight. It sounds like complaining but when the simple amenities are missing, it makes you appreciate hotels that do have them more.

Dated, very clean and good breakfast. Remodeled room, nice bed (we had the single queen). View of the bay and old trestle was cool. Would recommend. Used the local version of Uber to travel downtown for dinner.

great room overlooking the ocean and the bridge, the staff was helpful and the breakfast was one the best I've had at a hotel. Would stay there again anytime. They have great access to the beach and restaurants and shopping.

My experience with the manager was delightful. No need to get into the details. The hotel was wonderful. The breakfast was great and location was fantastic. Stay in Fort Bragg a few days and enjoy the sea.

Nice receptionist,,, room was tired, hotel is getting old, good location, mediocre breakfast, check in and check out was efficient, evening arrival, receptionist/clerk was very friendly. Have stayed here before, due to it's location, and probably will stay again when traveling north coast, but the place could stand to be refurbished.... IMHO

Beautifull view from the room, but we had one big disapointment room has no microvawe but has a mini fridge, which makes a mini fridge pointless if you cannot reheat what you store in the fridge. It was a family gateaway, last out of Sacramento trip for this year, and we wore very surprised when we didnt see a microvawe. Other then that great location.

The room was clean but "tired." The woman working the desk in the afternoon/evening was kinda rude. We went in for coffee in the afternoon and it was empty. She didn't offer to make more stating "That's all, we aren't making any more."

EXCELLENT all the way. Friendly, professional staff and service. Great value in an area that can be rather expensive. Clean, comfortably spacious rooms. Surrounding landscaping and grounds are beautiful. Highly recommended!

When we arrived and checked in we had a problem right off the bat. The door key would only work 1 out of 50 tries. We went back to the front desk and had new keys issued only to find the same results. Finally we got satisfaction when someone else worked the key programmer correctly. It was determined the lady at check in was putting in and removing the keys too quickly. The breakfast had a very limited selection of items with only sausage available. No bacon, No eggs, and no Biscuits and Gravy. Also no prepared oatmeal or cream of wheat. Overall just a average stay.

Warm welcome on arrival. Great room, clean and nice decor and room for a family of four. Our room was ground floor so we had patio doors leading to a grassed area with a picnic bench which was great having outside space too. We were allowed to have a BBQ and picked up a small one for $8 locally. Room was well serviced during our stay. Continental breakfast was included which I must say out of all the places we have stayed was by far the best. Waffles with various toppings, oats - again with various toppings, sausages, eggs, yoghurt and a selection of pastries, rolls and bread. Spotlessly clean and replenished frequently. Nice pool too. Amazing beach opposite. If you go down the drive to the park next door there is a walkway under the road which will take you directly to the beach. This is not signposted. Great town just down the road with free places to visit, just give a donation. Overall great comfortable place to stay

I stayed here with my mum and sister for one night. The rooms were big and clean. They all had outside access and a big balcony that faces the ocean. There is an indoor pool but no hot tub. The continental breakfast was good. Nice selection and the staff were always making sure it was clean and full. I had to print something while at the hotel and the front desk staff let me borrow their computer and print with no charge. It was very kind of them! I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel with ocean views and walking distance to Glass Beach(however, not much to see anymore). Clean & comfortable and close to town and restaurants. Continental breakfast was just that, no eggs, but good. This hotel is great for a night's stay in Fort Bragg.

Rooms were clean enough but old. There were loud footsteps and noise from the room above us late into the night. Nothing to muffle the noise. The service at the desk was not very welcoming or friendly.

We stopped here on the way hwy1 . It was a nice stay. It was clean, quiet, and great service. She recommended a nice eating place. We did drive by the 1st time as they could use a bigger sign. We would definitely stay here again

We have stayed in our share of Best Western properties. They have ranged from decent to really not great. I wanted to take my son who was visiting from Massachusetts to the Mendocino coast. It was a last minute decision and felt lucky to find a room. We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into the cottage. I had expected a studio cottage with a kitchenette and two queen beds. We were pleasantly surprised to find we had a full kitchen, two separate bedrooms and a living room with fireplace. It was super cozy and comfortable for the night. It would even work for a week. It is not perfect (could use a bit of maintenance here and there and there were some stray hairs in the bath tub), but I would most definitely book the cottage again.

Had an excellent stay. Rooms were very clean and good and lot of choice for breakfast including dairy free and gluten free items. Would stay there again. Beautiful view from the room. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Good WIFI.

hotel is a great place to stay for many nights and use as a base camp to enjoy the many sights around fort bragg. the staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean and the grounds are well maintained. highly recommend!

Hotel across the highway from beach, with beach views from room, but no balcony. Average rooms, but well kept and clean. Customer service at front desk is excellent. Typical motel breakfast--the giant muffins were delicious. I thought that the grounds around the motel were beautifully landscaped and maintained. Ice and soda machines. Small frig and coffee maker, but no microwave in room. We would stay here again.

The rooms are large enough & comfortable but the service was terrible. Breakfast is good if there's anything available. We sat for 20 minutes jumping in line as they brought food out. Upon checkout there was a dog behind the counter looking into the kitchen. I hope no one had pet allergies. It's mediocre at best but we will not stay there again.

This motel is located north of Fort Bragg and above Highway 1. It is quiet and relaxing place. The staff are very helpful and the beds are comfortable. It is just a short distance to town and only a short drive to Mendocino.

Great location. Nice beach across the road. Nice balcony with ocen view. Comfy beds. Spacious room but squeaky floor. We stayed on the 2nd floor no kids, and people on the 1st floor complained about us.

The room we stayed in had doors that did not close or lock unless you used force. The room was stifling hot, but unless you wanted to open the patio door that had no screen and let the bugs in, and the smell of the guy sitting on the grass smoking his, you were out of luck. Also, they say they have 55 rooms, but they only seem to have 30 parking spots. If you go out to dinner, you are completely out of luck trying to find a parking space when you get back, and there is no where around to walk to unless you really like Denny's. The worst part was the fact that they don't mention that this hotel is next to a cemetery. I certainly would have NOT STAYED HERE if I knew that! If you are one of my regular readers, you know I always try to find the best thing to write about, and with this stay I just can't find anything at all. I don't even know that I will ever stay at a Best Western again, considering the treatment we received from their corporate headquarters when we called to register a complaint. If you are on a family vacation, or a romantic getaway, there are certainly quite a few better places to stay in the Fort Bragg/ Mendocino area!

I wasn't expecting much with this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised! Located right across the street from the beach, you can't beat the location or the price! They also had free breakfast every morning from 7-10 with hot items available as well!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was perfectly located close to town. The included breakfast was also good, and has good options to choose from. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. My wifi was not strong, but it was fine for the time that I was there.

This was the worst room I have ever stayed in with Best Western, and it made me lose confidence in the overall value of Best Western in general. To charge $179 a night for a room in this filthy condition, not disclose the dilapidated condition of the property, and to subject my family to an unsafe environment was reckless, irresponsible, and unacceptable! I am very upset. The room itself was in very poor condition. 1. The heater was stuck in the on position and the thermostat adjustment was broken off - we were all sweating at night (that's not easy to do in Fort Bragg, CA). 2. The room was dirty and smelled bad. It looked as though it has not been repaired or updated since the 1970's. 3. We found someone else's dirty socks sitting in the middle of the floor when we walked in. If the room had been cleaned properly, this could not have happened. 4. Neither the front door nor the rear sliding door closed properly nor did they lock without extreme effort and if the sliding glass door was shaken would unlock. We were forced wedge it closed. 5. There were an assortment of people on the lawn outside of the back of our room who were drinking and smoking what smelled like marijuana (not the situation that I wanted for my family). 6. The hotel is nestled between (a clear view of) Highway 1 and backs onto a cemetery. Loud on one side, “deathly quiet” on the other… This was not disclosed in the description on the website; it made it nearly impossible for us to relax. The kids were definitely upset by the cemetery. 7. Our room was in a different building, so far away from the front desk, that we did not even consider going to the "free breakfast". The management was NOT responsive on checkout, and even suggested that their maintenance would have corrected everything if I had taken time out of my vacation to go through all of the problems of this room with them... NO! That is absurd. This room should have NEVER have been rented, and security on the property is absolutely 100% the continual responsibility of management and Best Western.

My wife and I have stayed here twice now while traveling to Fort Bragg. We were told about it by a friend of hers who will ONLY stay here, and we know why now as well. It's located just outside of the 'main' part of town, which makes it a quiet place and it also sits up above the roadway. The staff are very nice and helpful if you have any questions/concerns. This is just a great place to stay with your kids or a couples retreat (we've done both)!

This was a great hotel and had a courteous staff. the free breakfast was excellent and the staff made sure it was stocked well and the area and tables were clean. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to this area.

Nothing fancy. Across the highway from the beach -- some rooms have an "ocean view" but not something that's spectacular. Good prices for a budget stay. Convenient location to the beach, but on the north end of Fort Bragg -- you need to drive to get into Fort Bragg. I'd stay here again for the price and convenience.

The owners at this hotel are very friendly and professional! The hotel is nothing fancy, but the room is updated and the beds are exceptionally comfortable, in fact the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The location is perfect with a beautiful view of the ocean and direct beach access right across the street! There is an indoor swimming pool which is nice however, I missed not having a Jacuzzi. Also, there is no air conditioner, and though the windows open to wonderful fresh ocean breezes which made it very comfortable, it also makes it very noisy during the day since it is on a major street!

We stayed 1 night on a road trip along Highway 1. The hotel is located in the northern part of Fort Bragg, overlooking the ocean and with easy access to the Glass Beach. The rooms are situated not far from the highway, and our room had a view to the Pacific, and was spacious and clean. The highway is not far away from the rooms, so be prepared for some noise. The service in general was okay. Breakfast service, however, was not up to our expectations. Although the breakfast area did not seem to be very busy and the buffet food was okay, several items including coffee were only available after a pretty long wait.

We stay here 4 or 5 times a year. Great location with a beach directly across the road.The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful with breakfast in the morning and an indoor pool to enjoy. The staff and owners are wonderful people who treat you right.

Good place to stop on Highway 1. Fort Bragg is really the only main town with facilities to wash clothes and have a decent meal. As usual Denny's came up trumps with a meal - since most places do tend to close early.

We were so relieved to find this hotel when traveling around Northern California with the family. We didn't have reservations on a busy weekend and hoping to find a decent place to stay to rest after a long drive. Fortunately this was the first place we saw with a "Vacancy" sign so we immediately stopped there. When seeing that it was a Best Western, we felt it would be reasonable and comfortable, which it was. I have always had great experiences at Best Western hotels in the past, and they have a good reputation. My favorite is the one located in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

Very close to all Mendocino and Fort Bragg trails, forests, botanical gardens and beaches. Nice location with ocean view. Clean rooms, great breakfast and nice staff. We have been coming here every year.

This hotel is a nice stop on the California coast, nice view, friendly accommodating management & staff, clean rooms, good location, nice water view, is on major roadway with a touch of traffic sounds but at night the sounds die down, breakfast is somewhat lacking but did have oatmeal, pastries. I will stay again.

Location near freeway. Too noisy. Room and bed were ok. Buffet breakfast was very good and complete. Staff was extra friendly and helpful. We had an ocean view room but the window opened on freeway. The view was phenomenal

Indoor pool is great! Wonderful view of Pacific and pedestrian trestle. Sunsets are breathtaking. Rooms are comfortable, motel is little older, but vintage California. Wine tasting nearby on cliffside coast. Great restaurants in town. Sidewalk cafes abound. A perfect seaside community. Relax! Enjoy! Must see Botanical Gardens, please walk the whole garden 2-hours. D'Arelios Pizzeria a must, the great aroma of garlic!

My daughter booked this hotel as my birthday trip. We didn't pay attention to the fact that this room was a "cottage". We just thought it was going to be an oversized room, boy we were shocked to pull up to it & see we were totally off by ourselves. Cannot wait to go back & get the same cottage room again!

My daughter and I took a spur of the moment trip to Fort Bragg. We booked the room in the morning and arrived that night (thank goodness there was an opening!). The hotel is near the end of Fort Bragg, as you're heading north. It's right across from Pudding Creek beach, which my daughter loved. There's an old wooden bridge and soft golden sand, and plenty of room for sand castles. Our room faced right out on the bridge and ocean. Even though it's across the street, it was a lovely view, especially at sunset. The room was clean, if a little small, but perfectly serviceable. The front desk started out grumpy but quickly warmed up. There's a pool with some lounge chairs in the main section near the breakfast nook. My main issue was with breakfast. We've been to several BW hotels where the breakfast was great, more than I'd expect from a hotel. I guess my expectations were too high coming to this one. One little tray of Costco muffins cut into quarters, coffee and juice, and two bananas. Two. No real protein, no heated foods, just really go in, grab a muffin and head out. I think they should stop advertising that they have breakfast for guests and change to "We'd be happy to provide you with a juice and a muffin."

We stayed here for a quick stop overnight while traveling across country. We got more than we bargained for. We checked into the room, which was left wide open, no towels, and ants ended up in all our stuff. Thanks, but no thanks to staying here again.

For the last 40 years we have camped somewhere on the coast near Fort Bragg, CA. The grandparents have always stayed at the Vista!! This year it was my turn. What a great place!! Such a surprise, updated rooms, new carpet, new beds! Extremely comfortable and will be back next year with bells on!!

The hotel has nice views from the rooms of the ocean and pudding creek. The staff are helpful and attentive to your needs. The rooms are very clean, nice pillows and nice beds. There is HBO which I luv as at the end of the day I need no commercial TV or I go nuts. More movies channels would be nice but def a 9 out of 10 for this place.

The hotel is in a great quiet location but there's no A/C. The coast is usually cool and breezy and it was when we were there but if the windows and sliding door are closed it gets stuffy quick. After checking in and opening the door to the room it was really hot because they left the curtains open. Once airing out the room by having the front door and sliding door open it helped a lot but we had to sleep with the window and the sliding door open all night. The highway is right next to the hotel so if you are a light sleeper it will keep you up at night from the cars buzzing by below. The bed was amazing and soft. The room was spacious and the bathroom was fine as well. The balcony was a nice size and they provide a table and chairs to relax. The internet worked great, we didn't eat the breakfast provided instead went to Starbucks on the out of town.

We stay at Best Westerns. We arrived late Friday night and stayed for two nights. We found the room hot unless we opened the windows and then it was loud with road noise. The room was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast was similar to other stays. Our son liked the indoor pool. The pudding creek beach was beautiful. You will have to walk across the freeway and walk a bit under the bridge to get to the water's edge. I did not price other hotels in the area, but this was a very expensive hotel compared to other Best Westerns except for Tolfino, BC.

Slept well, quiet and good breakfast. Starbucks was close by for really good coffee. watched the sun go down over the ocean. I would stay here again. desk staff very helpful with rewards program. Wifi worked well so I was able to get some work done. D

The hotel was outdated and was not worth the price they charge for the room. The breakfast left a lot to be desired and was not up to the normal Best Western breakfast. I can say that I will not be staying at this hotel in the future.

On the north edge of Ft Bragg, just off hwy 101. Stopped for onenight on our way south. Beautiful garden, room was fine, complementary continental breakfast. Free wifi access, indoor pool, inroom refrigerator.

Stayed 3 nights mid-May and loved it. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We were on the first floor with a "partial ocean view" which included a really nice view of the Pudding Creek Bridge. The beach was right across the street and was beautiful and deserted when we went over to take a walk one morning. I think what I liked best was that the motel is located at the north end of town and not in the middle of everything which made it feel more secluded. It was wonderful to open the sliding doors and feel the breeze come through and watch the fog roll in and out. We only grabbed breakfast onsite on the last day but it was good and fresh (lots of fruit and bagels). Another bonus - Glass Beach is just down the street. Definitely plan to stay here again!

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend with my sons on our annual mountain bike trip, this year to the Lost Coast, Big River and Jackson Demonstration State Forest (all 5 star experiences!l). We all thought the hotel was fantastic. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The room and bathroom were spotless--I stay in a lot of hotels and can say the housekeeping staff here deserves a gold medal. Breakfast is included and we all thought it was perfect. The grounds are planted in various flowers and plants that happened to be in bloom, and there are lawns and picnic tables. Hotels don't do that anymore. This is a genuine place. Some hotels have impressive looking exteriors and fail to deliver when you get inside. The Best Western Vista Manor Lodge is just the opposite--the somewhat older exterior disguises the qualities inside and the way it's run. I particularly like a good value and this is the real deal. Will definitely come back.

The location was under renovation during our stay, so the best foot forward approach wasn't possible. The construction wasn't distracting, but took away from all that the location has to offer. One night was just enough, and wouldn't go beyond two nights here. Put on your walking shoes as the rooms are set off from the main office where the great breakfast is served. The views are incredible and the ground floor rooms offer sliding doors to access the outside. Walking off of hotel parameters is not recommended as the main street has enough traffic and no side walks.

Great place to stay. We had an ocean view room. The breakfast area was well maintained and a great variety of breakfast items. The owner was on hand for any questions. He also had his dog walking with him. Nice touch.

My friends and I had stayed at this hotel previously while traveling in the area. This time was rather a disappointment with the breakfast service. The first morning the service employee was rude when we were in her way while she tried to replace items to be served. The second morning there was no power, so we went elsewhere for breakfast. They should consider a generator for back-up power. Everything else was fine, though.

Property is stuck in the 20th century and I felt quite nostalgic with all the old style light switches and fixtures. It seemed like the TV was analog (not digital) or at least the signal was. If I wanted old fashioned and rustic I would have booked a Bed and Breakfast or a Cabin but I paid for a proper hotel room and did not get one.

Great hotel at a great price. Excellent location with an ocean view. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Fort Bragg, CA. Less than a mile from Glass Beach, a must see, if you are in town.

Super nice view of the ocean. Tunnel under the highway for access to the beach. Everything was within walking distance including Glass Beach and North Coast Brewery. Balcony on rooms were super nice. Overall a great hotel.

Great price, little outdated. The staff was very friendly and professional. The indoor pool was nice and warm. The price was great for what you get. Unfortunately the hotel is a little older, which put me off a bit. But the rooms had modern furniture, and the bed was a little stiff. There was road noise due to us having an ocean view, but it was bearable. I'd definitely stay here again for the pricing.

The friendly, helpful people who work here make it quite enjoyable. The facilities are well maintained. The breakfast has a lot of variety. The people who work the front desk and clean the rooms are courteous and promptly take care of any requests.

Upon our arrival to the best Western Vista Manor Lodge in Fort Bragg we were met and greeted by the hotel staff they were very friendly informative and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Our room was top notch couldn't ask for better room or staff members. I will stay at this hotel again when passing through the area.

Very clean, large room, with view of trestle bridge and access to the beach. We could hear the ocean all night with the window open. Gardens and shrubs very pretty. Staff helpful, caring and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

I stay at BW properties quite often. I have never been so disappointed with the customer service as I was at this location. I was charged an extra $80.00 with no notification. I called to question the extra charge and I was told that they charged me for additional guests, when I explained that I had visitors but no additional overnight guests they refused to reverse the charge and continued to be very rude. The staff was rude during our stay to my children as well as myself, I would rather pay double the price than to be treated as badly as the staff at BW-Fort Bragg treat their customers.

Stayed here 2 nites as part of a 2 week whirlwind trip through the entire state of beautiful CA. This 2 day stay at this older but well maintained hotel was probably the most enjoyable and memorable part of the entire trip. The hotel staff especially the hotel desk management personnel were very friendly and provided great information to us on the local area. Although, we stayed on the ground floor end unit (2 story but no elevators - only stairs) room 416? but we still had an excellent view of the ocean and the pudding creek trestle and tidal pools via the enormous dual sliding glass windows. Room was spacious and bed was very supportive of my back. Ample parking and fairly quiet overall but some road traffic noise during day and early AM due to close proximity to CA1. Loved the convenient location of this hotel - away from busy downtown area but near some great restaurants and close to 2 of our favorite parks GLASS BEACH and Mackerricher Ocean Parks. We even saw some grey whales at GLASS BEACH on their annual migration to Alaska! Free Breakfast was more than adequate and was an enjoyable bonus. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, safe and clean place to spend the night as a break from their travels. I will definitely come back to this place if my travels take me anywhere near Fort Bragg!

We had a an excellent stay, sliding glass doors view of the ocean inlet. Grass backyard, lol. Very clean lobby, large selection of food for breakfast. No meat or eggs though. Waffles and yougurt, danish, and cereal. Lots of toppings for cereal and oatmeal.

This hotel is in a great location. Quiet and peacful a five minute walk to the beach. Hotel staff is very accommodating and friendly. We've stayed here a few times and always have a great experience!!!

After a change in plans for our driving tour we ended up deciding to come to the coast and Fort Bragg. The Best Western vista manor lodge was perfect! We had a room with a view of the sea over the boardwalk bridge and the sun shone all the time we were here! We saw whales spouting in the distance which made our stay Hotel is a short distance from restaurants in town but this is counter acted by being near beach and coastal path

When we first drove up to the hotel, we were worried. Outside looked dated. The reception lobby and breakfast area were a different story. They were spacious and current looking. Our room was bright and fresh looking. The beds were a great sleep and the surrounding area was serene and a pleasure to walk through. The breakfast was classic and fed everyone well.

It was raining like mad when we arrived but we were sorted and in our cozy room in little time. The staff was pleasant and the room view was surprisingly nice. Sure there was a little road noise in the morning for the morning commute but it was not too bad. The indoor pool was temperate and perfect for our visit and it also had a serious echo when we spoke to each other...echo, echo, echo...... The breakfast was decent and the grounds were tidy. My only gripe was the mattresses were feeling as if they may have reached their comfort limit and may be due for a change. Other than that we liked the place and we liked Fort Bragg too...most likely we will stay here again next time we venture this way.

The staff at this hotel was so friendly and welcoming. Treatment was what I was used to from Best Western here. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room was wonderful and the room was a nice size. The view of the ocean from our room was breathtaking!

We really enjoyed staying here, the staff was so friendly and our room with an ocean view was comfortable. Located on the North side of town was nice because there were less people around. Traffic is a little loud if you leave your windows open, but it does slow down later in the evening. Breakfast was pretty much what is standard now days, just wish they'd had pastries like bear claws or cheese danish. Also missed having those little individual peanut butters I like to snag as a treat for my dogs when I get home! lol Overall we'll be back for sure!

Lovely hotel on a set-back piece of land with expanses of lawn. The location makes it wonderfully quiet, and the staff is seamless and flawless. The beds were the absolute best hotel beds in which I have ever slept, bar none. The breakfast had large sausages instead of the requisite little pork links, and home cooked hard boiled eggs instead of the ones delivered by the food service companies. Had a great time and will definitely recommend this place as well as return for another stay.

This older hotel was fine for a 2 night stop in this area. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional. Our king bed room had an easy chair and ottoman, fridge, desk and chair, and the sink was separate from the toilet/tub shower area. We were on the second floor and had a view out towards the ocean. The breakfast area/lobby was large enough and breakfast was continental with the addition of hard boiled eggs and a waffle maker.

I've stayed at thie BW location numerous times. They're very friendly and accommodating. They just remodeled the breakfast room. My only complaint is that they don't serve hot eggs or meats for breakfast. They serve cereal, waffles, breads, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit. They view is beautiful and the hotel sits up on a hill an overlooks the ocean. Ocean access is right across the road. It's a couple of miles from downtown but not too far. I would recommend because of the location, comfortable beds, view and friendly staff

Check-in staff was very informative, with excellent suggestions for dinner. Room was a good value for the money, compared to other motels and inns in the area. Lovely view. On the northern end of town, which is a positive. Road noise from Rt. 1, but not terrible.

Location is good. Highway 1 is a bit noisy in the evening because the windows in the room wouldn't close after we opened them up. The hotel is nice on the outside and outdated on the inside but overall the stay was enjoyable.

After a hectic week of issues, my wife made a reservation and we headed for Fort Bragg. We walked around Glass Beach, then went for a walk across the old trestle and noticed that nice motel across the road. "I hope our room has as nice of view as that". It turned out that it was our lodge, and we did have that view. Very nice place, great staff, and a good breakfast that turned into social time with other travelers.

The safe are very friendly. I came solo to do some photos of glass beach and I was more than happy with my room. I ended up with a great view and although I was by the stairs it was actually very quiet. Wish I could have stayed a few more nights. I will stay there again! Thanks BW!

Our first time at this hotel. Staff was friendly, lobby clean. Everything needs some updating and it did look as though that was happening. Our room was clean and comfortable enough. Beautiful views, but came with highway noise. Very good location. Think it would be good for family's. Did not try breakfast. Might try this next year if the updates are finished.

We found this be a very nice lodge. Quiet grounds with a nice variety of plants to admire. Cleanliness seemed to be important. Comfortable beds and a nice view (ocean/trestle/inlet) out the window. Some traffic noise in the upper building but noticed that windows are being replaced. Breakfast was the usual fair and fresh. We would stay again.

This is very nice place to stay while traveling down PCH - easy in and out. got great directons several shops we needed. As well as good restraunt suggestions.Very nice breakfast choices and the front desk staff was very helpfull on getting across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Older hotel but clean....the window wouldn't shut but someone came and fixed it right away. Radiator type heat ...with a separate one in bathroom. We got to the breakfast right before it was over. Instead of the lady announcing that breakfast was almost over she comes out starts taking everything away no smile or expression. No people skills. Slept good...good bed and great location.

There were no tea or coffee making supplies provided, the beds were ok for one night but I could not have slept on them for an extended time as the mattresses were a bit old. There are dishes available but no dish washer, no washing up liquid and no dish cloths or tea towels so we had to leave our dirty dishes stacked in the sink. Also the cottage smelled musky like it had not been opened in some time. Apparently there are two cottages the other cottage did appear to have sea views.

Pleasantly Refreshing! The hotel lobby was clean and updated. The room we stayed in was clean and recently updated. We were just a short walk from the tunnel access to the beach. We will definitely be staying here next year when we visit Fort Bragg.

This was a very cute motel with a very friendly staff. We had a few technicl issues but the overall stay was great. The electrical outlet did not work on one wall but we moved the lamp and the stay was quite enjoyable.

We were pleasantly surprised with how nice this place was. I had made reservations many months ago. The room had two rooms with a queen bed in each. Large fridge, clean and incredible views with balcony viewing the ocean. When we arrived we could see whales in the distance! Nice treat! We could walk right off the back to the ocean. The front desk was friendly as well.

Wouldn't stay here again because of the mattress and bedding. The mattress was old and broken down, the sheets were really pilled and the pillows were atrocious. The room was nicely decorated however, but not enough to compensate for a good nights sleep. My back was a mess after a on and off again nights sleep here.

Offers a splendid view of the Pacific Ocean and its beach at very reasonable rates in a setting of Redwoods - The staff is attentive and very professional. Breakfast is a special treat and the grounds are tree lined and quiet.

Our family, traveling north from San Francisco to the Redwood Forest area in early June decided to stay a night in Fort Bragg. The Best Western, although not uber fancy, was very comfortable and the view, oh the view. After going into town for dinner and exploring the beach across the road, upon returning to our room were welcomed with the sight of the sun setting over the ocean. Yes, the beach is across the busy highway but we weren't bothered by the noise. One thing that could have made this just a bit better would be getting in to the lobby area by 6 a.m. to get coffee. Had to wait until the lobby opened at seven. There are actually two buildings too, quite a long property, worth walking between the two to see the well-kept flower beds.

WE always try to stay at a BW whenever we travel. They all seem to be a little different from each other. WE have also found that BW on the west coast to be much much better than on the east coast. I your in the Fort Bragg area, treat yourself to this BW, you won't regret it.

You're not going to get away from Highway 1 in Fort Bragg. It's busy and noisy. But, although I was a little concerned that there was no air conditioning, I slept comfortably with the windows open all night. The noise from the road died down about 10 or 11. The rooms here are updated and clean. My only complaint is that there was no accessible power outlet near the bed; I'm going to have to start packing an extension cord. The view is pretty good, and it should be noted that there is a tunnel under the highway to the beach below the driveway (I learned this -after- nearly getting killed crossing highway 1). Breakfast is typical motel carbs, excepting the boiled eggs.

Nice Best Western and I an there every two weeks very friendly and courteous. Fort Bragg is a beautiful place to visit. Hotel has a great view of the Pacific Ocean, There is a little road noise from 101 but the view makes up for it

Clean modern rooms, great beds and pillows, all rooms with an ocean view from the bluff, indoor pool, across from fabulous walking paths on the ocean and 1 driveable block from restaurants, picnic tables and fields for kids to run around safely, we will stay again!

We come up here every summer to enjoy the ocean view and cooler weather. This is one of the few motels in Ft. Bragg where you can actually see the ocean...great walking paths along the cliffs and access to the beach.

Excellent location ....close to beach. Walking distance with balcony view of the ocean. Great breakfast and very clean/comfortable rooms. Very nice staff. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family.

We had a large room with two queen beds. Had the usual furniture and a fridge/freezer, but no A/C. Sink in main room while tub/shower [grab bar] and short toilet in another. We could not find a TV guide for the stations. The windows faced Hwy 1, so it's noisy when open so bring ear plugs! Nice ocean view since the hotel sits on a hill. Breakfast had waffles, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereals [two of them gluten free], big muffins, bagels, juices, coffee, etc. Wife says 'nice toilet paper'! Very accommodating owners.

Although this hotel is not "ocean front", it is directly across the street, with all the views, sounds, smells & ocean breezes you can handle! The hotel grounds are lovely & the front desk staff was so pleasant and friendly. There is a large indoor heated pool and I believe there is a continental breakfast, but we didn't have a chance to enjoy either of those during this stay. This place is somewhat tucked back up on a hill and you may be tempted to not make the turn, but you should!! The rooms were not ultra fancy but they were clean & modern enough & quiet & roomy enough for a family of 4. You won't be disappointed!

While the owners keep the hotel clean and the staff are friendly, this hotel is old and is in desperate need of modernization and updating. The shower control broke off and we had to use pliers to switch from shower to bath mode. There was no hot water for 2 days of our stay which forced us to leave a day early (4 smelly kids) The beds were not comfortable for us--2 adults on a double bed is NOT fun! Our room faced highway 1 and was quite noisy all night long. We did enjoy the grounds and the tunnel to Pudding Creek.

Great location and the grounds are great for a picnic. Short walk to the beach and most rooms have a nice view of the ocean. We had dinner at the North Coast Brewery which was excellent and has really good live music.

I really liked this place. It's an older hotel but it's been updated bit by bit it seems. So, although the walls are thin and the sliding glass doors are worn, the beds are nice, linens are new, there is no mildew, and paint is relatively fresh. The pool was great, but I do wish it had a spa. It was a hike from our room to the pool as well. There were nice picnic areas throughout. It would have been a great place to stay for 3 nights. I'd definitely stay here again!

A party of six stayed at he Best Western Vista Manor Lodge from July 3 -6, 2016. We rented three rooms. Check in went smoothly. Our three rooms were fine: two queen size beds in each room. Our room had a wonderful view of the Puddy Bridge. We were disappointed, however, of the continental breakfast. They didn't serve any scrambled eggs, except hard boiled eggs. Nor did they served any bacon or sauages. They did serve muffins, cold cereals, fruits (like bananas and apples), drinks like coffee, tea, orange juice. Housekeeping was great. They were up in our rooms by 10 a.m. Checking out on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 went smoothly. I would recommend this place if you can forget the scrambled eggs and/or bacon and sauages. If you want real breakfast, you can always go to Denny's which was about a quarter mile away.

Walls are thin. I can hear next door talking, they are just having a conversation, not even shouting. layout of the hotel is strange, due to the property. 2 separate building far apart. If you are in the back building, it's a walk to the pool which is located in the front. Front desk was ok, not exceptional. Food ok, breakfast hours are nice, 7 to 10. Not close to main drag, will have to take car. Will not stay here again for the price I paid. There are plenty of other options around town.

BEST WESTERN Vista Manor Lodge is a nice older property. Rooms are well maintained and nicely furnished. Our room was 1st floor king room across from the lobby. Good view did not find the road noise a problem at night but the traffic noise does increases in the morning. Breakfast room is large, food was the normal. Note the coffee was very good.

I'd guess most people that stay here are passing through like me while driving up along the coast. Since you won't find any "fancy" hotels along this stretch, this hotel serves the purpose and you'll feel like you traveled back to the 1960s or 70s! The employees at the front desk are extremely friendly and helpful. Although the rooms are very dated, my room was very clean. The price was very high for the value, but I'm guessing they take advantage of people passing through with no reservations. One big plus I'll give them is the shower head that they have installed, great pressure and lots of water!

I pick the Vista Manor as some of the hotels in the Fort Bragg Ca area have a Las Vegas feel the Vista Manor staff is wonderful & the hotel is quiet with nice views. The hotel works hard at upgrades & improvements. Pricing is good for the area.

A make over of a old motel.. Room were clean.. but tired.. HOT and humid with NO a/c..Possible views, but windows so dirty it was hard to see.. Above the hwy... with single glass windows no sound reduction.. Breakfast was OK but uninspiring..

we"ve stayed here many times the location is great the owners are always very friendly and helpful, it has very easy access to the beach there is a very nice 10 mile trail across the street that is fantastic for biking, and it is also very close to the town. Great place to stay

We had a great view from our balcony in the old south wing "partial view" room. The staff is very friendly and the grounds well kept. Right across the road from Pudding Creek bridge....and don't let the highway noise bother you...everything quiets down after sunset and all you can here is the ocean.

Travelled down fromSamoa on to Highway 1 can recommend this journey the scenery is amazing stopped at this Best Western sea view,good room as always,nice lady booked us in. Went to Silvers on the Wharfe and had Rock Cod Stuffed with mushrooms,prawns and crab meat great view of the fishing boats returning to harbour

These rooms seem like an upgrade from your standard two star, and worth the price with a discount like AARP or AAA. The trade off is the great view of the ocean, a clean room, and fantastic location. But once you crack the windows open for some ventilation, the highway noise hits you. So that said if you can put up with traffic noise, it's a great Motel and value for that area. You can walk right across the street to the ocean, another plus.

The hotel was on our way up 101. This was the last place to stop for the evening. While you can't walk to restaurants, it is a quiet setting. The rooms are older but very clean, the staff was excellent, the lobby breakfast was very well laid out and good. We could see and hear the ocean from the room, which was nice

I consider myself a Best Western connoisseur as I've stayed in quite a few of them. This one was as expected. Lovely lobby where we would have our free breakfast (which was great, BTW--hard boiled eggs, bagels, yogurt, make-your-own waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, hot beverages). It's across the freeway from the beach, no problem. There's a bit of noise from our upstairs neighbor, fine. But, there was NO air-conditioning. Heard the front desk person explain it to the woman checking in before me. Now, I get it, you're on the coast, you would rarely need it--except we needed it. The sun set blazing right into our window which heated the room up, so we drew the shades, which blocked the small screened window which was letting in a very little bit of cool air. I don't know how many days out of the year this is a problem, but it was not a good night's sleep because of it.

This motel has huge bathroom windows that open to the parking lot. My bathroom window did not have locks and the opening is large enough for someone to easily gain access into your room. While the location is great, security is questionable.

We stayed for 3 nights the rooms are spacious clean and breakfast provided had a good spread and variety. Nice thing is its just opposite to beach and very close by to lot of places like Glass beach , Skunk train...etc overall it was worth the money paid

Hotel is a little old, but nice location at the end of town. I only stayed there for a night and the staff was helpful and friendly. Nice view of the river from my room. The bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean, but had some issues with the shower knob being stripped. Worked my way through that, and decided not to hassle with it, given I was only there for a night. I might consider another hotel if I was staying for more than an evening.

The hotel is getting a nice upgrade: new paint on the exterior, new carpet, new pictures on the walls, upgrades in the lobby and breakfast area, and eventually new windows. It was very quiet, with only minimal noise from the highway. The view of the ocean across the street is unbelievable!

Nice place right off the highway but up a hill, so it is quiet. Good sized room with flat screen tv and free internet. Breakfast was great. There were three of us, and we all got our fill.Checked in in the evening, and the clerk was very helpful. She provided us with a map and showed us where restaurants she recommended were located. Got to see a great sunset over the ocean. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Hotel was very comfortable, good staff. located within walking distance of the ocean. Landscaping was good, would stay there again. Looking forward to the next getaway to the coast. Overall stay was very good,will return.

We booked the room based partly upon the name of the property and were expecting a 'vista' from the room. Well there is a view, but what room w/ a window can't claim that. The property is on the inland side of Highway 1 at the very north end of Fort Bragg, backing up to the highway. The 'vista' is of the back side of an ocean bluff and a pedestrian bridge across Pudding Creek. There is an obstructed view of the ocean through the bridge infrastructure, but by no means a 'vista'. The only screened window opens to the highway and it's associated noise. The property is in the midst of an update. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable, but regardless of the remodel, it shows it's age. The lobby/dinning area is yet to be updated with the front desk having a plywood top. The only ice machine was by the office, which is across the lot from the rooms and a bit of a bother to get to in the rain. The remodel is nice, but all the putty and paint they can find won't put 'vista' in this property.

There seemed to be some ok reviews on this place but I rate this as strictly sleep-and-go. First of all the entrance is downright dangerous. Be warned that if you are trying to get into this place coming from the south it is hazardous. The entrance comes up very quickly and is around a curve on the highway. Yes, there is a sign posted up the road but it doesn't help. The entrance is quite torn up and is a sharp 90 deg. turn. We saw one other car in front of us miss this ridiculous and horribly maintained entrance and skid into the adjacent trailer park entrance. The lobby looks pretty grim and the counter tops were chunks of plywood. Apparently they were waiting for the counters to be cut. Very 'basic' stuff. To their credit they were painting the outside of the building but we had to wait until they moved the ladder and stopped painting to get into the room. There's actually a decent view from the window but the windows are not washed so that's wasted. The rooms are extremely basic and you can't open the windows as the traffic noise is pretty loud. Actually, I tried to open a window but the latch fell off and broke. The bed was comfortable and after the traffic died down late at night it wasn't too bad. This place is an the edge of being a complete pass and is at best a pit stop.

The room is fine, the bed was comfortable. We were tired upon arriving, laid down. I really really tried to be OK with the noise of highway. Er had already sleephed all our luggage upstairs, checked in, paid. The noise on a Wednesday at 4pm was just too much. Bonnie at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. I was embarrassed because I am not a premadona & there is nothing wrong w/ the room itself, heck it is only $116. for an ocean view. Bonnie let us cancel on the spot for the 3 night reservation, no charge at all. That is good service.

Considering the name of the property includes the word 'Vista' one would assume it has a nice view. And since it is in a seaside town one would assume an ocean view. This property overlooks Highway 1 The backside of an ocean bluff and a pedestrian bridge. There are peek ocean glimpses through the bridge infrastructure, but by no means a 'vista'. I feel that the name of this property is purposely deceptive. The rooms have recently undergone an update and it looks like the lobby/dinning area might be next, but short of blowing up the pedestrian bridge,there's nothing they can do about the lack of a 'vista'.

Needed a place to stay while on a trip down the coast. Did not have any reservations as did not know how far we would make it each day - it was a guys adventure trip. The room was serviceable. We were on the back side away from the road, so it was quiet. The hotel is up off the road so not easily seen, but the sign is there.

The Highway #1 noise in the morning and night, it was on the Northside of Fort Bragg with nothing by it and you would have to drive to Fort Bragg to eat and visit stores, the parking is really small and hard to turn around in order to leave in order to drive to town and there was no information on the different type activities in Fort Bragg; the refrigerator ice box part did not freeze anything and ice cream melted and dripped on the lower food and construction material of carpets and other material should have been taken away but it was just next to the entrance area.

Went to this because I usually use Best Western, this hotel was awful, after checking in our room was called and damp and had no heat, it also had a damp odor,went back to the office ,manager apologized and gave us another room,same thing ,no heat and smelled, another couple was also playing musical rooms, I cancelled the reservation and went elsewhere, very disappointing considering the Best Western name

As we drove the tiny little winding roads to get to Fort Bragg, I was expecting some old, half-fallen-down shacks to stay in. Boy, was I surprised to find nice BIG rooms with new carpeting and two queen beds. We had a partial ocean view and saw the sun set over the Pacific. Even though we were next to the highway, the only traffic sounds were a soft "whooshing," almost like the ocean waves. The lady at the front desk (who also took care of the breakfast the next morning) was super nice and bent over backwards to point out all the gluten-free options to me at breakfast. Unlike some other hotels where we had stayed on this trip, there was plenty to eat at the Vista Manor Lodge. And even the decaf coffee was quite good here. A pleasant experience, indeed!!

we stayed at the BW Vista Manor Lodge in Fort Bragg on May 1. The hotel is in a beautiful location across from the beach. There was easy access to beach walking and watching the sunset. The room was comfortable and spacious. I have suggested to the owner that with the sun hitting the room windows in the afternoon that a combination heat/ac/vent unit should be available in the rooms.

To call this a "rat hole" would be an injustice to rat holes. Very old, smelly, doors to rooms do not fit, loud traffic noises. I am presently standing at the lobby door which is locked at 0645. Employee can see me out here does not offer to let me in. Very rough neighborhood. Beware!!

There are 3 blocks of rooms that are spread out among green lawns, tall trees, and unusual flowers. Sea birds soar above and you can hear the ocean and the occasional dissatisfaction from nearby geese. It's a beautiful setting and the view is lovely. You are off the highway and a little north of town (not too far though), so you don't hear a lot of traffic or other disturbing noises. It is all very calming as we sat out on our deck and watched the sunset.

I would advise that if you are a manager, or property owner, and you are ongoing with Renovations, make sure that Safety First, and Curbside Appeal is not an issue. Put yourself in your guest's shoes, and ask yourself, if the ongoing operations is hurting or helping the esthetic appearance of relaxation and serenity of the guest's ultimate quest, in an otherwise, "stressful day to day existence, period!" None of our expectations for such experiences were met.

Overall, our stay was ok. However, the first room they assigned to us had some prob lems. It was old looking and had a stale aroma. The worst thing was that the HBO T.V. channel had no sound, just a buzzing noise. We were then assigned to a room in the unit that was being renovated. What a difference! New paint, carpet and T.V. It had a great view of the ocean. It was very comfortable. The breakfast was just so, so. All in all, it was worth what we paid.

Though an older motel, it must have recently undergone a major renovation. The room was spacious and well appointed. We were very pleased with the accommodations. Stayed 2 nights and used the location as a base while we explored the coast and the redwood drive-thru tree at Leggett.

We stayed at this hotel on our anniversary trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was an updated one so it was clean and comfortable. The rooms are being worked on so there are workers and some construction noise, but not at odd hours and it did not disturb us. Ocean view was beautiful. We would stay here again.

really great location, quiet, nice view, super clean and comfortable, all for a great price! it is on the way out of the main town so the scenery is beautiful and it is peaceful. seriously good value!!

Great location, comfortable bed, quiet room (when the windows are closed), good breakfast in the morning... BUT furniture needs updating and the windows need to be cleaned. Otherwise, this hotel is worth the price.

older but clean hotel. (looked to be currently remodeling alot of the rooms plus reception area). Beds were clean and plush - slept well. Nice clean indoor pool which the kids enjoyed. decent breakfast options (waffles, toast, bagels,hot/cold cereal, yogurt , hard boiled eggs) good value for a basic restful overnight. right across the highway from beach and trail.

My family and i loved the location and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the views and how close it was to the ocean. It was reasonable to stay here too. I would recommend this place for family and friends. Close to glass beach too.

VERY clean and COMFY mattress.....staff super friendly and helpful.....nice breakfast with waffles, bagels, and more.....would highly recommend this place. Location is across the street from the ocean with some rooms with a view. Area nearby has several beautiful coastal spots where you can walk on paved trails along the bluffs.

Location very good...breakfast very little choices...bed and pillows soft...but the frobt desk named GAIL was not friendly and not accomodating. She answer us rudely and in a rush during our check in 3/28/16.

Had a pleasant stay, in a partial ocean view upstairs with balcony and chairs. Large room, pleasant decor. The manager was extremely courteous and helpful. Although lots of yard maintenance going on due to recent rains, it was quiet.

The Vista Manor Lodge is right off the highway and ocean views are right across the street. This is a very functional hotel in a tourist trap type location. It has all the amenities and while it is an older hotel, they are doing a great job with renovations. This is a TOP SECRET don't tell anyone and mess it up for the rest of us, kind of find. Try it!

The staff (the owner?) are great. They especially opened the pool for us and it was worth it. They are currently doing some renovations and it's going to be really nice when it's done. The people were very anxious to please. The room was clean with a great view and comfortable bed. Despite the fact there was a huge storm in the night and the power went out at 4 am, it appeared breakfast went on as usual - not sure what they did about coffee. We went to Denny's instead. A very nice property.

We have stayed here numerous times over the last 15 years, and not that much has changed in that time. The rooms are nothing special, but they are clean, well maintained (for the most part), and come with a free breakfast. Although they overlook Highway 1, they also overlook the beautiful Pudding Creek where it enters the ocean. We also enjoy the heated indoor pool. Other properties across the street don't have the highway to deal with, but they do have lots of people walking and biking on the haul road, and looking right into your room, so that's why we consistently choose this place instead. Easy access to everything Ft. Bragg has to offer, including the coastal trail, the haul road from Glass Beach to McKerricher State Park, and lots of beaches in between the two. It's enough to keep us coming back every year.

The motel was wonderful. The view from the King size bed suite was perfect. The ocean and Pudding Creek was out the window. It is on the highway, so you will hear that along with the ocean sounds. That was an FYI so a person can know this going there, so no complaints can be made. It's beautiful..... one of the few with ocean views.

This Best Western is located right across from the ocean so you can hear the water which is relaxing to me. The property is quiet. The owners of this property are very kind and friendly. The beds are super comfortable like at all Best Westerns. They're doing some remodeling in the breakfast area in which I hope they'll offer a better selection of hot breakfast items instead of just waffles and bagels when finished. I would recommend this location

I liked the location, right opposite the coastal trail. But the hotel is doing terrible injustice to the brand "Best Western". The rooms are damp and cold. They have only radiant heating and even after two hours of running it at max temperature, the room was cold. We had to goto the front desk and complain about it, only after about a bit of argument they provided me a room heater. The outdoor lights of the block I was staying in were not working, it was pitch dark and we had to use our cellphone lights to go out. I had complaint about that too but they didn't switch it on. The walls of the room are thin and not properly insulated, I could hear the traffic all night. In morning the showers were not having hot water and I am talking of 7:45 in morning. Water was draining very slowly out of bath tub. Now just think of it, taking bath in cold water with water clogged in bath tub. This was the worst Best Western hotel I have stayed in. Its better to stay at any other cheap motel, there is no point in paying 50% more than those motels for similar exp. I felt cheated and would never recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. This hotel is just doing big damage to the brand "Best Western" and now onwards I would be a bit cautious before booking another Best Western.

I like the location but it lacks secure wifi, I was told they been having problems with their servers. They also don't provide fridge and microwave in their rooms. I noticed one of the bead spreads looked a little soiled as soon as we arrived, and reading other reviews it seems that this is not unusual there. Lastly, the bed was very uncomfortable to sleep in, no support at all!

Start off with the front desk has no customer service. I literally mean no customer service no one is there. After ringing the bell a couple of times someone finally comes out of the back. Finally get checked in and get to the room and the room is dirty, cold, and damp. Wanting to get some sleep after a long drive and had another long day ahead of me I settled in to the bed only to discover that the rooms are not insulated very well. Listened to the people above us all night, listened to the people next to us all night, and listened to the traffic on the road all night. After a night of no sleep went to check out in the morning and again no one there. Picked up the phone and was told the office does not open until 0700. Was told I would get a receipt in an email which never came. This hotel is not what I am accustomed to with the name Best Western. Has the be the absolute worst one I have stayed in.

Very quiet hotel with two different separate buildings overlooking the ocean. Short drive to glass beach (the family recommends site #2). Rooms have very comfy, newer beds, although I wish we'd had one King and one Queen instead of two queens. Heated indoor pool was nice. Heating the room took some time, but it finally worked after several hours. Extra blanket was full of burn holes, although this was a non-smoking room. Breakfast was ok, very carb heavy. Coffee was good.

Stayed one night. The staff were nice and the room was clean. Not fancy, just a typical room. The only complaint is the walls are thin and the ceiling would loudly creak anytime the people above me walked around.

Oh man, this place was even better than we expected. Very recently remodeled all the rooms and they are still working on the office/lounge area, but we hardly noticed the construction work. They are very considerate of guests comfort. Our room on second floor had a million dollar view. I was more than happy to sit in front of the huge window and look out to the ocean and the old railroad trestle. It couldn't have been any better. The room/bathroom was very nice and updated. Lots of electrical plugs for chargers and nice HD/TV. Bed was a little soft but still nice and clean. Adequate continental breakfast. Very nice employees to help us check in, answer questions and help with breakfast. Nice lounge area for eating, socializing with friends. I noticed they had a nice selection of books and games to use. Although we didn't use the indoor pool we did check it out. Very nice size and will definitely use it next time. We were there during whale migration in Jan 2016 and were treated to seeing passing and breaching whales from our window. Directly across the road is the Coastal trail to walk or bike. We've stayed at less expensive motels near the center of town and will never go back. The slight higher expense is worth the fantastic view of the ocean from our room.

The guy at the reception desk could have been friendlier. Perhaps point out the breakfast bar to the right? In January mid-week, this place is almost empty. For less than $100, I was given a second-floor room on HYW 1, directly across from the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful, full-on ocean view. This area is rather flat, no striking ocean waves crashing over huge rocks. But I enjoyed those views/walks all day. Why pay extra for them when I will spend the majority of time in my room sleeping? Speaking of sleep, the bed was extra comfy! Soft, soft mattress, sheets, and pillows. Would be tempted to stay another night if my feet weren't itching to hit the pedal!

Great price for this location. It's 5 minutes from the center of town and located across the highway from the ocean. Lovely ocean breeze and sunset. Our room had a small balcony, perfect for catching the last light. Very spacious room and clean, nothing fancy. Breakfast was simple continental. Would stay here again.

Stayed in room 421-A. The room was very average but was an ok place for the night. There was not much of a view. There was a little inlet across the street where you could see some water depending on the tide. Otherwise the small bit of coast was in the distance. The bathroom had mold staining but appeared clean otherwise.

Rude employees. The receptionist did not give us any information about the internet, turning on the heater etc. We did not get a receipt and returned to ask for one. She argued that she would only give it to us at check out. She finally printed one out for us. . In the morning we walked into breakfasts and heard two employees literally screaming at each other. The room was shabby , noisy, with no extra blankets, a broken shower head, & torn curtain.

We had stayed here three years ago, and had no complaints. This time I looked at the Tripadvisor reviews and noticed that a lot of people seemed to dislike this property, so we booked at the HIX, but couldn't stand it and moved to the BW. AAA correctly rates it as two-stars, but I liked it better than the HIX, which I thought was overpriced for this time of year (Midweek in November!) Some mixup trying to check in, but it all was amicably resolved. Just keep your sense of humor and patience. Clean, no mold. Paid $10 for the building with the Pacific view, very nice. Very slight traffic noise – not a problem. There's no microwave, small BR counter, short on electric outlets (I had to string two extension cords to get power to the table – the outlets at the table were controlled by the light switch near the door). Had trouble first night with a fuzzy TV signal – wife gave up on TV. But it was OK the second night. Some units have an electrical outlet near the corner of the bed, important to know if you have an apnea machine or two. Sometimes you have to move the bed to find the outlet, but it's easy to move. No plain-flavored oatmeal so we went out for breakfast the next day. There's a microwave in the eating area, so I warmed up lunch leftovers for second-day breakfast. No free newspapers at least by the time we got to breakfast. Best part of this property is the owner, who probably lives on site, and is very friendly.

I always stay here when I am in Fort Bragg. The staff always remember my name which is unusual these days....they go out of their way to make me feel at home. I love the beds and pillows....sleep better than at home. Breakfast is always great with so many items to pick from.... Great price for everything you receive.

This hotel has a new part and an older part. We stayed in teh new part with excellent sea views. There are some ground floor rooms as well as first floor no lift. there is an indoor pool which was useful and warm. Breakfast was reasonable but not exciting and boring after a day or two. Fort Bragg has the Skunk Train and an interesting museum also a number of nice places t eat and drink Good beach for children. Sea too cold for me.

Found this place and grateful for our stay here .Very clean and comfortable rooms , very hospitable staff and just an all around good experience here and very reasonably priced too Will definitely stay again Darren Corron

In general it was on the low side of acceptable. Because I generally use Best Westerns and it is the only one in the area, I booked it on faith without any knowledge of it. Most of the Best Western I have stayed in lately were more updated and pleasant.

While touring the Sonoma Coast, Point Arena and Mendocino, we stayed at this Best Western. It's adjacent to Noyo Headlands and Glass Beach (very scenic). We like to consolidate our travel with Best Westerns because these properties are consistent, affordable and points add up quickly for free stays. Best Westerns are not fancy hotels, but they are clean and reliable. I've never had a bad experience, but make sure you are not expecting a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. it's your basic, efficiency room.

This hotel is very conveniently located right on Highway 101. There were some stains on the carpet and mildew in the bathroom but overall doable for one night. Our room had a partial ocean view which was fine since it was evening and we were only staying one night. The room had all the amenities you would want or need. A complimentary continental breakfast is offered with delicious muffins. The lobby and breakfast area is in a separate building and is very comfortable...sofa, chairs, a fireplace and a small exchange library are located there as well. The hotel staff recommended a wonderful restaurant on the marina with an ocean view.

This Best Western is right across from the ocean. You can sleep with your window open and feel at ease. It's nice to fall asleep or wake up listening to the ocean waves. This Best Western is average but consistent. The owners are extremely friendly and want to make sure that your stay is comfortable. The rooms are dated a bit but have the consistent Best Western beds that are comfortable. This is a good value and if you don't mind eating waffles, bagels, hard boiled eggs the breakfast will be suffice for you.

awesome hotel, great place to stay. i enjoyed the area. great envirmonet to relax and check out the wild life. I noticed a lot of shops but could not stop and check out. not too many places to eat at night but did find a denny's.

Spent the night on an overnight get-away, was clean enough, quiet enough, and affordable enough. We left before trying the breakfast, expect it was the usual fare. Had a view of the ocean from our upstairs room, nice to look out from the small balcony.

I was greatly looking forward to staying at Best Western based on previous stays, but everyone at the front desk was unfriendly. They helped with what asked but never greeted us or acted like they cared. My biggest complaint was the cleanliness. There were cigarette butts and dirt all over the outside area of our room. The windows were also smudged. There was a miscommunication with the housecleaning staff and our room was never cleaned. Breakfast was also a lot less variety then the previous Best Western we had stayed at. These are not huge complaints but it put kind of a damper on the trip for me. I would not stay there again and I would question at staying at a Best Western in the future. I did not communicate this to the staff because no one was there when we checked out.

Owners Kuami Kao, his, wife, daughter & staff are the "best". (Loved the whole family including the 2 fur babies) Breakfast yummy and served until 10:00 for late risers is great. Owners went out of their way to accommodate!! Couldn't get in on the day scheduled and they didn't hesitate to change my dates when I called late afternoon on the day I was to arrive. Can't say one thing negative about this place. Bed very comfortable, wireless reception fast, very clean and had everything I needed for a really comfortable stay. Stayed longer than originally planned because it was so nice and restful. Thank you for being so nice!! If I find myself back in Fort Bragg I will definitely always stay here.

Dirty, bugs, leaking sink in bath room complete with water on floor, not wet or damp, Water on the floor. Staff member said Denny's was the best restaurant in town. Give me a break, half mile down the main strip we found 4 or 5 nicer more interesting places to dine. Do I need to say more.

While the room was clean and the view was beautiful, there were some mahor issues. 1. Staff was very unhelpful and rude on check in. We had a cheaper internet room rate showing on our phone and the front desk shrugged and still said the room was $30 more than the internet price. We had to sit down and book the room online in front of them. When we went back to the counter they made sure thay we were only saying 1 night because the room wasnt going to be available for 2 nights...um we already made our reservation. 2. TERRIBLE WIFI-it doesnt cover the whole bed room, you have to stand next to the door facing the main check in building if you want a signal. 3.The bathrooms need some renovation. Would not stay again despite the view and nice beds.

My wife an I visit Fort Bragg several times a year, the Skunk Train, the Botanical Gardens or just a weekend get away along the California coast. Good size clean rooms with all the amenities and a very friendly and helpful staff. They are right across from the beach and there is a pedestrian tunnel under the highway. Sunsets on cloudy days are spectacular.

nice location with large and clean rooms and cool and absolutely sufficient breakfast, great view in direction of the pacific , original Motel style, embedded in garden area with beautiful flowers, also perfect for bikers

Nice hotel right at the beach with a nice view at the ocean. Large clean rooms. The hotel is within walking distance of Glass Beach.We stayed only one night at the hotel. We'll definately staay at the hotel again if we're in the neighboirhood.

Right off Route 101. Overlooks the ocean sort of. Indoor pool. No air conditioning. Noisy with the open windows. Breakfast was average. The receptionist could have been more enthusiastic but she was also on duty the next morning so long days for her. Outside access with two floors. I was not impressed with this hotel at all but it was clean.

The staff is very helpful and the room was very nice. I asked for a downstairs room and they gave me one, very nice and with a sliding door to the outside. Breakfast was good. I was able to park right in front of my room door.
