Best Western Gateway to the Keys

Bathtub stopper broken making it difficult to take a shower as the tub fills with water. Lots of long hairs present in bathroom floor on arrival. Sink clogged in bathroom, backing up water while you washed hands and brushed teeth. Disgusting. Uncomfortable beds. No one offered compensation for These issues experienced at check out.

Minor room maintenance issues. The soda machine and snack machine was expensive. When you put you room card to open your door, when you see the green light, shoulder hit the door as fast and as hard as you can. When you go to close your room door, you will have to slam it hard.

It is a busy time, so we were happy to get 2 nights in the BW. Rooms are good, breakfast too. Prices are a little bit to high in Florida. In the BW we had no things to criticize. We will come back ahould we be in the Miami Area.

My husband and I stayed at this location from 2/1 to 2/4 in room 144. Check in was smooth, our room was clean - just a couple of minor maintenance things which we reported upon our departure - nothing of which affected our stay at this hotel - just items to help staff keep this hotel in good condition. This hotel is located in an area that is convenient to Florida City restaurants, but also a good location for when doing a day trip to the Florida Keys, Everglades and Key Biscayne areas. Our bed was very comfortable -the layout of the room with 2 sinks was great - the room was very spacious. Poolside, our room was just steps away from the beautiful pool courtyard that we enjoyed nightly. The breakfast area was kept well stocked each morning and a great variety to choose from. We recommend this hotel to anyone that is considering visiting the areas I've mentioned. The hotel is far enough away from the main highways that you don't have traffic noise, yet convient enough to be anywhere you need in just a few minutes.

The hotel is ideally situated to enable easy travel to the Everglades. The staff were very friendly. There aren't many restaurants that cater for vegetarian around the area. The hotel was clean, staff were awesome

Staff were courteous, especially the employees serving the breakfast bar. Room was clean. When we registered we were given complimentary water and bag of chips as we were Best Western Members. The breakfast was very good.

This hotel in Florida City was a great central location for exploring Biscayne and Everglades National Parks, as well as getting down to the Keys. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked with hot, cold, and convenient grab n go items. My only suggestions would be to replace the spring beds with memory foam and bring back the hot tub!

We stayed a total of 3 nights at this hotel. Very clean and I loved that the rooms have parquet floors rather than carpets. Cute seating area around the outside pool. Good breakfast and pleasant staff.

For a reasonable price,you are nicely located between the keys and Miami. Not to far from the Everglades and Ft. Lauderdale. Breakfast and staff are great. Rooms are nice. Pool is nice. We were able to visit all the keys and south beach all from this location.

Good overall budget stay. pool view rooms. breakfast is nice location is good and near everglades and food places walmart are nearby and easily accessible. parking is good and spacious too. overall good place to chill relax.

Professional friendly staff- clean grounds- swimming pool family area will surely keep the kids happy. During our stay one thing that caught my eye was the BW team getting the Job done. No Foolishness.

I stayed in this hotel with family following the good rate and 8.2 rating in Expedia however was disappointing from the begging. There were insects in the bathroom and room floors, air conditioning broke in the middle of one night and was not serviced on time next day so we had to switch rooms, breakfast fruit was not checked for freshness and both fruit and hot plate options were very limited, room door was very difficult to open due to wear of lock internal parts, etc.

Appropriately titled gateway to the Keys, and for a much better value. It also is the gateway to the Everglades. And when you return you have the best stay in a country feel hotel and a superior pool surrounded with ambiance of a Florida sunset and majestic palms. This is my preferred place to stay for every future visit to South Florida!

This hotel is over rated on Expedia.com. I don't recommend it to families on vacation. The Customer Service is very poor, the rooms seems to be clean but there are small cockroaches around. The beds are sold out in the booking to be queen beds are actually double size beds. The worst is are the doors, they don't work properly to be opened and closed. I got two rooms for my family and regretted so badly to stay in this hotel. The people in the counter are very rude and don't care if you are having problems with your room.

We booked this hotel in order to visit the Everglades and a few of the Keys prior to a cruise from Fort Lauderdale in April 2023. I would give it a 3.5. PROS: ~Convenient location to the Everglades and Keys ~Complimentary outdoor parking ~Maid service -- yay! (Sometimes this is a novelty in a post-Covid world!) ~Attractive pool area in the center of the property ~Modern, updated decor in the lobby. ~Complimentary basic breakfast with food items like waffles, oatmeal, bananas, cold cereals, bread items, yogurt, eggs, juice, coffee tea. ~Near McDonalds -- we arrived late on the first night and this was about the only thing nearby open for dinner. ~As BW Platinum members, we were given free bottled water and popcorn. CONS: ~The first room we checked into, the door lock was not operating properly. We went back to the lobby to notify the front desk staff. Instead of simply issuing a new room, a staff member came to the room to verify that our door lock wasn't operating and then upon realizing that it wasn't working properly, took us back to the lobby to issue us a new room. This, along with having to pack up the few items we'd already unpacked and unpack in a new room took up precious time. We'd already arrived late after a flight from the west coast and driving through a rain storm. It was not a good start! ~You have to climb stairs to your room, not sure if there was an elevator, if there was, it wasn't apparent. ~Could smell pot/cannabis outside at one point. ~No hot drinks available in the lobby. ~Shower tap leaked. ~Wore earplugs at night, but I do this in a lot of hotels to prevent being woken up by noises. Overall, an average to ok updated Best Western, conveniently located to the Florida Everglades. If you found this review useful, please click the 'thumbs up'.

We stayed one night and will never stay there again. For a high crime area, their security is pitiful. we had 2 e bikes stolen within 2 hours of checking in at night. We reported it immediately and the cameras could not capture anything. Nor the the elderly female on a motor scooter with a flashlight didn't witness a thing. The room wasn't the cleanest either.

We truly enjoyed our two night stay at this Best Western location during our trip to visit the Florida Keys and Key West. The hotel is perfectly located just prior to "the stretch", the length of highway that joins the mainland to Key Largo. There are several restaurants close by. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and courteous. Even though the pre-checking process had assigned us to a second floor room, the receptionist was able to relocate us to a great room on the first floor. The room was modern, clean and everything worked. The pool area is large and includes some games that kids can play while adults relax. The morning breakfast included eggs, sausage, waffles, an assortment of cereals and breads, fruit, juices, yogurt, coffee, tea and milk. Because we were staying on Friday and Saturday nights, the breakfast area was understandably busy. We were extremely pleased with our stay and look forward to staying there again when we're in the south Miami area.

Broken Tv, no clean towels, no ice in machines, hard beds, lumpy pillows, when sign placed on door for cleaning service - it was not provided. Pool was warm and open until 1000pm. Would have been nice to have a few hours of adult only time after 1000pm.

We traveled as a family with 2 kids. Overall it's a good hotel. We stopped here since we didn't want to drive so long distance from Key west to Naples. Nearby there is a small outlet for Nike converse etc. Good location, fair price.

Family vacation was great. Very relaxing. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Pool was very relaxing lots of seating in both breakfast area and pool area. Rooms had refrigerator and microwave. Beds were comfortable. We had a poolside room so that made it convenient to stay in the pool area. Thank you for a fun relaxing vacation my 2 teenage boys loved it here and we will be back .

I would definitely stay again. Room was large and had a kitchen “area” with a separate sink and counter top. Almost could call it a suite with the small couch and eating/work table. Pool area is attractively landscaped. Main complaint is the smallish TV couldn't be swiveled and screen is going bad so a portion of the screen is hazy. And the cable service isn't the best and the internet is sketchy in the room but better in the lobby. But if those things don't matter to you this is a very good value.

Is the only hotel I'll stay when I'm in Homestead or if I'm just sitting the keys I have stayed there four times and it all been great. The room is clean breakfast is great and the staff is super friendly.

The location was great, easy to get to off US 1. It was clean, had all the accommodations we needed, slept well. The Continental Breakfast was great and lots of choices. The personnel were all friendly and very accommodating. Wish we had gotten a room on the inside where the beautiful pool and tropical setting with all the happy birds were!

Very nice hotel. Very clean and well maintained. Nice pool area and a decent breakfast. Definitely the most affordable resort style hotel in the area. Will be returning again the next time we are in South Florida.

The Best Western Gateway to the Keys is Wonderful! It is convenient to the Florida Keys & Everglades & much more. The staff is very friendly & helpful.The rooms are clean & priced moderately. The property is beautiful for the price.

We recently stayed at this hotel, due in part to the great reviews it received online. However, upon arrival, we found out that this hotel is really more of a motel; definitely not our expected Best Western experience. There was no apparent elevator to the second floor, which is especially a challenge with a baby and stroller. Our comforter had blood stains on it, and they wouldn't give us a new one, as they would only clean the bloody comforter since they had no extras available. The humidity in the room even with a/c running constantly was extremely high, leaving everything sticky. The towels and washcloths in the bathroom were stained and extremely scratchy, felt like sandpaper when bathing, and the shower curtain had holes. The floor had been updated but was very dirty. The furniture, furnishings, and TV were dated. The continental breakfast was okay, but not the highest quality. Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

Convenient to jump to anhinga trail and the everglades national park. Desk staff was very welcoming. Rooms were comfortable. Pool was small but a nice pool area to hang out in the evening. Great value before heading to the keys where lodging gets much more expensive.

No issues except surprised that Best Western no longer accepts cash. Clean room, good breakfast. We felt safe knowing a Security guard was on duty all night . We were also impressed that the guard watched us unload our car & walk to our room, as we checked in very late. No hesitation in staying there again.

This one night stay left me feeling frustrated .After reporting my unhappiness to the front desk they said they were unable to give me a refund. Totally unacceptable. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

A location that really lives-up to its name. Getting to Florida's Keys couldn't be easier. This is what makes it a bit above average. No lift for second-floor guests. Spacious room. Nice bathroom facilities. Telly was without local stations while there and internet spotty. A bit pricey for the property but…location, and so on.

Upon arriving to the hotel we were underwhelmed. The rooms were clean but very basic, the shower faucet was leaky but when turned on you had hot water and pressure. If you're just looking to sleep somewhere it's fine, anything more look elsewhere.

We liked this hotel, especially the design. Most rooms are situated around a pool area wit a lot of greenery, which appealed to us. Our second floor room overlooking the terrace and pool area was spacious and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine but the same every morning. Scrambled eggs three times in a row is very boring. We would prefer some more variation. There was free (good) coffee 24 hours a day. During the weekend, guests held a noisy poolside party. We mentioned this at the reception but nothing was done about it till the pool area was closed (22.00h). All in all we had a great stay at this hotel.

The hotel was Over priced, the beds were hard and horrible. Very poor sleep. The breakfast was empty and poor quality. Very small eating area for the amount of guests and Some of the staff was rude. The room was clean however and located near many food places.

Our 3 night stay at this hotel exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend this hotel. I would gladly stay at this hotel on our next trip there. Breakfast & quality of food served was excellent.

Best Western- Florida City is an excellent choice for travelers who are looking for affordability and good staff. The decent breakfast bar staffed by great stafg is a bonus to those who enjoy on site breakfast.

great place to stay for convenient access to the Everglades National Park. Starbucks and Walgreens nearby and then off into the park. Parking was easy. Flamingo Marina was our destination. A day in the park then back to the hotel.

We stayed here as our midpoint for the Keys, so we were here before and after Key West. Prices were very affordable. It is close to Biscayne NP, Everglades NP and the Race Track. We chose to stay on the second floor, just be mindful that there is no elevator. On our first leg of the trip, the Breakfast was disappointing. The first morning the plain egg omelette was pretty tasteless. They had some kind of sausage patty. There was no oatmeal or any kind. The apples they had were very dry. The second morning they had scrambled eggs, they were a bit better but still not tasty enough for me. They did have a vat of oatmeal. The bananas they had were very rippened. Coffee was okay. Room issues were that the ac kicked on and off extremely loudly and it was hard to get a good night's sleep. The shower/bath handle was extremely hard to turn on and you had to leave it slightly open just to turn it off. TV channels were somewhat limited, in that whoever programmed the tv's did not include all available channels. Towels, the "race flag" style of BW towel, were very worn and were scratchy...need to be replaced asap. Clock was totally broken and did not work. Second Leg: Room also requested on the second floor. Issues: Bathroom door did not close, seemed to be off alignment. TV channels limited and Towels were very scratchy. 2 of the light bulbs in the room were burned out. We opted not to eat a subpar breakfast at this location and opted to eat at a local Cuban Restaurant for a great Breakfast. It was Mario's Family Restaurant, not too far away. All and all, the motel served our needs for $100 a night, but don't expect much. At least the rooms were clean. Plus Side: All desk personnel we encountered were very pleasant and professional.

This was a good hotel for excursions along the State Hwy 9336 down to Flamingo. There are a lot of nice trails off this highway in the part which is in the Everglades National Park. The hotel has a nice swimming pool, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is excellent when you are used to normal US hotel brekfast standards.

The reception. The guy at the reception desk looked disturbed when we entered and put us the wrong room. He seemed annoyed when he had to arrange something else. The breakfast area attendant was not really attending. See locked herself in the kitchen and only after asking she was willing to start replenishing food. When something was asked she mumbled an answer and turned her back to me. Did only breakfast of Tuesday/Wednesday, went somewhere else the other days. The badroom was not really cleaned.

We booked here for two nights with a stay in Key West in the middle. Fantastic hotel with amazing staff. Rooms were clean, surrounding area safe with plenty of eateries on the doorstep. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and there is a pool.

Wanted to go to biscayne national park and everglades and was looking for something close to both. This area seemed to be the best and I am happy I picked the BW. Hotel was clean and well kept. Easy to get in and out of and could walk to some stuff. Would recommend and would stay again next time I'm in the area.

Location to the racetrack was great!! Staff was friendly and very helpful. Pool area lovely with plenty of seating. Breakfast was tasty and offered much more than bagels and coffee. Only did 4 starts because the room was small and had a very distinct odor, which was quite nasty. Unfortunately we were on the ground floor facing the parking lot so we couldn't air the room out. Overall, pretty nice.

The room was very clean and smelled of bleach when we arrived, which I'd seen on other reviews when choosing it. However, the AC was malfunctioning. I reported it to the front desk that the fan was on but the air coming out wasn't cold even though it was set to 67. When we returned after they worked on it, the unit was set to 65 but not fixed. It was impossible to turn off the water completely in the shower, unless perhaps you brought a wrench with you, so a steady trickle came out non stop. I didn't report this based on the AC response. It seemed like all they did was make the bed on day 3 (after I had reported the AC) because in the bathroom, there was only one half empty roll of TP and they didn't bother to replace the other totally empty roll. I had to go ask at the front desk.

We stayed for the Homestead-Miami NASCAR race weekend. Hotel was fine, breakfast good and the facilities fine. Would stay there again. Short drive to racetrack. I don't think it was worth $200 a night, but that's what the race will do.

Wonderfully clean rooms. Beautiful pool area. Friendly service for the most part. Would recommend with no hesitation. The value and quality for the price compared to other accommodations in the area are a great value.

++++ Checking in was a breeze. +++++ Room 257 was clean with m-wave, fridge, and great, complete, hot breakfast served by diligent friendly staff. ++++ Two wash basins--one outside shower/toilet room. -- It was easy to speed by. Their little BW sign, coming south on Hwy 27/Krome Dr., was easy to miss, hidden as it was behind a jog in a wall. We got 4 miles to the keys before we could turn around. --- As 82-year-olds, we were disappointed that we did not get a ground floor room. On Expedia we'd signed up for a pool side room. +++ However, our room (257) after we climbed up to it, was clean and had two Q-size, comfy beds with 4 pillows (of various fluffiness) each. --- The TV was a puzzle. We called the desk and they said, "Best news is on 7." We clicked 7 and got static. It turns out, on cable, channel 7 is another number! Not only is another number, when you press the number, you have to press Channel + to get the number +1. Then we got to Channel 7. -- The toilet seat was loose on the porcelain. One mention and it got tightened in about 30 minutes. -- The toilet was loose on the floor. Getting up it 'clunked.' We reported that when leaving. -- I would have liked to send the owners a suggestion on how the TV instructions should be presented. There is no email address for this particular Best Western. +++ Everyone of the staff were most pleasant. +++ We have nice memories of surviving hurricane Ian in Florida City, FL.

We stopped here for a night on our way to the Keys. For us the location was perfect, but can't really speak to the area as we arrived late and left pretty early. The room was large and clean. The toiletries provided in the room smelled great! The morning breakfast was as expected. Waffles, scrambled eggs (which I found to be very tasty), sausage, cereal, etc. It was simple but just want we needed before heading out. The pool area looked nice. If in the area, would stay again.

Stayed one night only. The guest services were not up to what expect at a Best Western hotel, also the rooms and the premises are not in good condition. The room was very outdated and definitely needs renovation. The hotel also needs some painting or better care. I could not sleep at night due to my neighbor was using the tv very loud, speaking very loud, and banging something (maybe kids). I complained to the reception and after that, they stopped the noise, a bit. There is options around, so skip this hotel and maybe will be better for you.

The hotel needs to match the location value so that the final review is not great location but short on quality control. The breakfast fell short of deliciousness. The best part was the coffee and waffles.

This hotel was much more attractive than I expected. It appeared to be in good condition from the outside and the nicely done lobby. The pool Area was large, clean, and attractive. The room was in need of some fine tuning, but overall a very good experience with friendly and polite management. This is a passing through property rather than a staying here for a while location and offers all you will need.

The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Housekeeping was friendly and always said good morning when they saw us. The breakfast staff left a lot to be desired. The room was clean and reasonably quiet (mainly the heavy doors closing). Beds are comfy, lots of pillows! Not the best air conditioning, but we didn't die. The bathroom and kitchen area in 123 was very, very hot; if we left the exhaust fan on in the bathroom and cracked the door, it helped to cool the room. We noticed a few roaches in the bathroom, but it's FL… We would definitely stay here again. It was nicer than the other hotels we visited in the Miami area.

Stayed her 3 nights while visiting the Keys and the Everglades. Rooms neat and clean. Also very large. Conveniently located. Breakfast good. Everything in room worked. It was safe and clean. I would use again.

Hotel was really great. The pool and breakfast were really nice. We even just walked to Pollo Tropical for a yummy supper, it was a fast food chain we don't have where we are from. Would definitely stay here again!

I stay here many times I down near Miami area. Clean, quiet, comfortable, great staff and spacious! Plenty of places to eat within minutes walking from hotel. Large breakfast area and a pool, as well.

Being Best Western Loyalty Members, we booked this hotel for a 2 day stay. The property is a bit hidden if you approach from Krome Ave, but not impossible to find. We were checked promptly and efficiently. Our room was quite adequate, but had an overpowering smell of disinfectant. The furnishings were good, although the shower head needed cleaning and the clock was very difficult to set. The patio and pool area was clean and nicely maintained. Breakfast was very good, but the breakfast area was small for the number of guests. Considering the price of the room, I'd gladly recommend this property for the cost conscious.

The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful - when we encountered an issue they corrected it promptly. The pool and surrounding area was perfect for hanging out with our family and playing games.

I've been to the Homestead-Florida City area about ten times and always stayed at the Travelodge or Quality Inn on the other side of Highway 1. Rhia was my first time here at the Best Western and I will definitely consider it again when I'm visiting the area again. The staff was friendly and helpful, the lobby and breakfast area appears rather new and renovated. The rooms are older but with laminate floor. The furniture show a bit of age, but everything was clean. I didn't use the pool, so I can't say anything about it. Breakfast was okay with the usual options of waffles, bread, cereal, eggs and meat, etc. The breakfast area was a little small and was often overcrowded, but I took my food to.my room and ate there. A table with chairs made that a good option. The motel is located in the second row behind a Pollo Tropical and it was therefore very quiet, yet one still got to Highway 1 in seconds.

Enjoyed our stay with kids, it's value for money. The rooms were good, clean and room service were given on all days of our stay, which is awesome. Kids also enjoyed the stay. Location was fab to start your Key west experience.

We stayed here with another family for a couple of nights when exploring the Keys and Everglades. The hotel is in a perfect, central location, about 30 minutes from everything. The rooms were great - clean, cold and connected. They also had a table which I appreciate. The pool area was fantastic! There were ample tables and lounge chairs. There were also yard games and grills. We spent our evenings outside. The breakfast was good. Pay the extra for a poolside room.

Great location and very happy with service, value and over all experience. Close to area attractions, plus perfect location to explore the Keys. They have a pool that we never used but would not hesitate to stay there again

My favorite Hotel in the area, close to the Miami Airport, close to the Keys, close to the Everglades. Reasonable price, very friendly staff, clean rooms and a very nice pool. Breakfast offers everything you need. I'll come back!

Our stay was wonderful at BestWestern and definitely recommend this place because it is nice and quiet. Love the location because it's convenient to everything specially if you plan to travel to the Keys. Breakfast was great. Room service was excellent how our beds are made everyday and towels was refilled.

This hotel was the perfect stop over on our way down to Key West. The rooms were tastefully decorated and clean. Beds comfy and shower good. The pool area was also very nice. I would definitely recommend.

What a nice surprise! Quaint little old school motel EXTREMELY well maintained. I have stayed at 4 star hotels that weren't this clean Friendly staff, heated pool and a great jumping off point to both the Everglades and Florida Keys. Free hot breakfast every morning! We stayed 4 nights and our total bill was $406! We would definitely stay there again if we're in the area. A hidden gem!

Overall a clean establishment. Decent hot breakfast. Would be nice if front office staff followed and enforced the rules they posted re COVID. We're on 2nd floor ,nice to sit out. Nice pool area too badpool not heated

This hotel is very clean, crisp, freshly painted, and well maintained. The lobby, rooms, and pool area are all very nice. They are all much nicer than I usually see at a budget hotel. You are just minutes away from Everglades NP. The breakfast is pretty ordinary, but the breakfast area is nice clean, and you can even eat outside if you wish. It's a really good value.

This place was so clean and comfortable! The staff was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was nice and there was plenty of space for people to eat. The water was off for emergency repair when I checked in, but within an hour the water service was restored. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Parking in front of the rooms was convenient. The pool area was beautiful.

This location is fantastic for visiting The Keys, Everglades and Biscayne Bay. It is affordable for the area and has a wonderful hot breakfast, it is seconds from the highway but still quiet and peaceful.

Quick check in and the team members were very friendly. We were given a map where it clearly stated where our room was and it had information regarding the amenities provided at the hotel. Which I found very helpful.

Good location to visit Florida keys from. Full breakfast. Nice pool area. Better than paying the high prices out in the keys, you are enjoying the drive anyways. Texas Roadhouse and Krispy Kreme are just down the street.

This is the cleanest, best kept up hotel I've literally ever stayed at. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is pristine and sparkles. The room smelled clean and was physically spotless. There is a great tropical vibe and even the full breakfast was great. Hot food, clean dining area and great service when we needed anything. I have already recommended this hotel to my family and friends. I will stay at this hotel every time I visit Florida. It's a great location too, with food places and stores close by. We truly loved our experience here. I don't leave reviews ever but have to for this hotel so other people can experience it too. It's just wonderful.

The clerk rang my 6 night stay through my credit card 2 times effectively putting a hold on all my available funds. When I told them what they did and that it left me without a way to buy food for myself and my daughter, get gas for my car, or pay for any vacation activities all they could say was sorry. Can you imagine being stuck in a hotel, woth a child, with the prospect of not being able to buy food? Worse hotel experience I have ever had.

We stayed here for four nights for our family trip to Everglades National Park. The very friendly staff and convenient location. We also appreciated the quick and hot breakfast in the morning. The hotel is also very family friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone not looking for luxury.

We checked in around 10pm. Night staff was super nice and pleasant. Breakfast was great. Room and absolutely no issues. We stayed at 3 hotels on this trip and this ranked #1. Thank you very much. We would book here again.

Good Hotel , Good Location . Rooms were nice & clean. Breakfast is slightly above standard fare & fresh & gets refilled when empty , so 4 starts . Location is ideal for Keys West & Everglades .Lots of restaurants around . Overall excellent experience .

We have always stayed here on our way to Key West and been very happy. We booked it for 4 nights this time. Desk clerks not very warm and friendly but that can be overlooked dealing with tired travelers all the time! Discovered our tv was not working when we got to our room about 6pm. Called the desk and was told maintenance had left but would call manager. Got a return call that it was a Comcast issue and they couldn't do anything…sorry. Went down to desk to see if our room could be changed….No. All booked. Again girl said sorry..it's a comcast issue. Well…it's their issue with comcast…we paid them for the amenity. No discount for what we paid them for the four nights. Won't be back.

Nice new Best Western. The beds were comfortable and the food was pretty good. Be sure to go down for breakfast before the rush. The rooms are nice and spacious, although the shower kept dripping after we used it.

We stayed here on our way back from the Florida Keys for one night, the room was good as it had everything we like to have (fridge, microwave, coffee maker). Check in staff were indifferent, shared no information for breakfast times, towel location for the pool or anything else for that matter. I used the washing machine and dryer which were $3 each, higher than any other hotel we've stayed at. We used the pool which was nice. We stayed at the Quality Inn across the street on our way into town and their staff were most helpful and happy to invite guests in.

breakfast was great, well stocked. room floor was dirty, had to wipe it down with guest towels. fart fan was making noise intermittently. when checking out, staff was pressure washing the walkways, making them very slippery and dangerous.

Contacted this place three times over course of a month with a simple request re room location because we had a small travel trailer and with due consideration of the other guests, requested a room in the area where parking was best for all. On day of arrival, called a fourth time to let them know we were going to be a late arrival (blow out on trailer) to please hold room. Upon arrival, no one knew anything about any of my efforts. We got a room furthest away from our requested location. room was apparently last one left. Barren room, void of any comfortable furniture. Manager stated reason was we were an "early arrival". This said it all, she had no idea what she as talking about - we got there late. Check-in and check out were both chaotic and time consuming with not the most pleasant clerks. Breakfast was mediocre. Simple - customer service is not a priority. Expect a cattle call type of experience. Room was clean. Recommendation - make a educated choice in this area. This wasn't a pleasant experience.

Great location for both the Everglades and the upper keys. Very clean hotel with good amenities, microwave and refrigerator in the rooms, coffee available all day. Varied breakfast. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is well lit up. Pool was freezing, nice lawn chairs. They offer a full breakfast for people that can eat it. I couldn't eat anything except the banana's, If you are gluten allergies bring your own. Same for dairy. Everything is instant/processed not the way to start your day. The rooms had plenty of towels, no pool towels in room. You have to asked at front desk. We had our own. They rooms also have a refrig and microwave that came in handy for me to make my own food. Keep everything in frig. They do have cockroaches. I didn't see any live bugs until the third morning and they were climbing all over the mirror and wall of bathroom. The room was clean but I cleaned again. I am severely allergic to dogs and the front desk could not assure me it was free of animals. This hotel advertising no pets, but service animals are seen frequently, The hotel is very conveniently located for our trip to the keys, and Everglades. Pollo Tropical, McDonalds, and Subway, liquor store you can walk too. Walmart, Texas steakhouse are about 3 blocks away/less than a mile.

Upon arrival you can tell the management takes pride of the premises. Quiet rooms. We felt very safe. Very well groomed. Love the quaintness with the yellow and teal exterior. Will stay there again. 1 note: if going to the keys, use Old Card rd to avoid US 1 to Largo Key.

This hotel was perfectly located to our destination to the keys. All accommodations were satisfactory and allowed for a comfortable experience. There were many options for food right outside of the hotel which offered various delicacy selections. I would highly recommend this location when traveling to southern Florida.

I travel to the Florida Keys several times a year and stay at this hotel the night before I head to Key West. The hotel is always clean and the staff is courteous. Recently I had to change reservations several times and had the pleasure of working with Isabella. She is courteous and conducts herself in the highest of professional manner. Isabella is a true asset to this hotel and the Best Western corporation. I look forward to my next trip. Thank you, Isabella.

It took us over 35 minutes to check in. I dont understand why they would put two people who don't know what they are doing working together. The room was clean but the tub did not drain correctly do you stood in thigh high water to take a shower. The breakfast was not good with not much to eat and they made you go to your room to eat it.

This is an older property, mostly noticeable by the exterior hallways and 2 story configuration, but it is well maintained/renovated and amply staffed. Staff seemed to be bustling around cleaning and straightening throughout the day and evening. The rooms and building wrap around a nice patio and pool deck, giving it an old time resort vibe. A pleasant place to stay.

Like previous comment, this hotel looks like an old motel 6 and the room confirms it. Charged 242.54 for one night. Breakfast was a total joke. You can fix your own plate but must eat somewhere else. They claim its the covid rules, however other BW hotels in florida does not do this. They are NOT user friendly or senior citizen friendly. If possible, I advise you to find another motel and avoid this one. Also, I'am a diamond best western member, so i/ve been to a lot of their properties.

We stayed last minute on a trip to the keys. Hotel staff were all friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a security guard riding around which was comforting. Breakfast was hot and edible. Definitely would stay there again

Stay was ok, nothing to write home about. Staff is nice. Had an issue with the batteries in the door lock at 3 am. Young lady working overnight tried to resolve issue but obviously had never been trained to handle this-a failure of management. She was kind enough to put me in another room, and offer an adjustment on current room. I asked her to please not call when it was fixed as I had had a 22 hour workday and needed sleep. Lo and behold, 3 hours later the maintenance guy called to tell me it was fixed and I could go back to my room. When checking out, they informed me they couldn't adjust room bill. Management need to step up their training.

Pleasant hotel with very nice pool area. Rooms dated, but clean and comfortable. The Heater didn't work, but you would rarely need a heater in Florida. WE were moved to another room with a pool view which was a reasonable solution. A reduction iin room price was made which was apprecited. A decent value for the price. Good breakfast. Good location for exploring the National Parks and the Keys.

No complaints about the hotel or staff except a tacky guy wearing a “Lets go Brandon” tshirt. Political views have no place in the hospitality industry. This Best Western is a perfect starting point to visit the Keys.

Kevin at front desk is helpful. The woman assisting him is not. I asked to change rooms and was denied because I used “a third party booking”search engine-Travelocity. This is Best Westerns chance to keep my business and they have no connection to my happiness because I didn't use their site. Their site was more expensive, so I didn't use them this time. I tried because I am a member. I am stuck three nights in the worst bed. I suspect all of their beds are old and hard, but I wanted to try. Very unaccommodating employees delighted to tell you what they can't do. During COVID there isn't supposed to be a maid to enter my room. The first day the bed was made. Avoid this location. Marriott is nearby and Marathon, Key Largo, and Key West are worth the extra money. This hotel provides two desk chairs to sit in without the customary nice chair or sofa. The bed has no padding with a cheap feel. No sleep for two more nights. Maybe we can leave early. I will try that next!!

Good Location for going to the Keys, Biscayne NP and Everglades NP. The room was dated and in need of some repairs in the bathroom. Beds and pillows were comfortable and sink near mini fridge was convenient. The woman working the breakfast was very friendly. Overall stay was nothing fancy. Just average.

The room itself was nice enough and I am NOT a complainer. I've been all around the world and also camp! We checked in and wanted to watch the NFL playoff games. There was a chirping smoke detector that we eventually had to disconnect ourselves. Our tv had a completely broken up signal/pixels were scrambled and tv kept skipping all evening. We asked to be moved but asked that the room given have a decent, watchable tv. Basic request for a hotel "Gateway to the KEys" !! The room we were given had a scrambled tv and skipped constantly. We were given a room next to the ice machine and the upper stairway. (NICE GOING) When we checked out the next morning we were told "you can go to Flanagan's down the street to watch the game" - UMMMM the game was on LAST NIGHT. We were offered a 10% discount and told that WE had to call Expedia to receive it. Best Westerns (not the best) are all privately owned. We put a call in to the OWNER with no response.

Liked - We traveled with a baby and got a big room with two beds, commode, dining table, TV, full height mirror, microwave, refrigerator & teapot. Good A/C. Because of corona there should be no room service, but we had one what is really important at this time. You can eat your breakfast outside in the pool area, which is also great. The breakfast itself was a bit richer than usually expected in such hotels, because of the waffles and cereal served. Free parking on site. You have some fast food restaurants around, so you can get some food if needed. Disliked · Before we checked in we received two messages that our credit card wasn't accepted, so we provided a second one which also wasn't accepted. We got a message that the reservation cannot be confirmed. We had some stress because of that. As we checked in it turned out to be a problem with hotel's card reader, our cards were everywhere accepted just hours before. Didn't like the typical American shower. The disposable plates on the breakfast were too brittle. Actually this is not a good place to stop if you visit Miami nor the Keys, too far away and it is annoying to drive these ways. The price was also too high, well like overall in Miami on new year's eve. No safe!

Pleasantly surprised at the range of breakfast items, lobby coffee, and housekeeping, when other properties are using the "COVID excuse" to reduce services without reducing prices. Not a particularly scenic location, but only 18 miles north of Key Largo and as much as 50% lower prices and better property condition than other chains in the Keys.

Stayed one night as a gateway to the Keys. First of all, the picture on the website is miss leading, no hot tub but picture shows (see booking site pic). Secondly, the the bathroom ceiling in our room is in a bad condition, see pic attached. I seemed feeling water dropping from the ceiling. Two lights not on, one of them is in bathroom. What we felt good about is the staff worked so hard in this location, especially the lady who worked on Jan. 2nd in breakfast room. This One lady, taking care of all sorts of needs with a positive attitude while many customers having breakfast simultaneously.....

Our rooms and most of the staff were great! The maintenance man (Ervin) was great! He helped with any and every thing we needed. He truly is an asset to this establishment. The same can be said for the housekeeper (Carlena), she was so sweet and generous. Unfortunately, there were some staff that made us feel uneasy. The first day of our stay (12/15), I came out of my room and was walking by the pool area, for some fresh air but instead was hit with a very odd scent and noticed a young man walking from behind a storage box. I'm 95% sure he was smoking marijuana. Later, I realized he was actually an employee of the hotel. This was upsetting because I did not feel comfortable bringing my children outside when there was a possibility they may smell drugs. I also, did not appreciate the attitude of the woman that controlled the breakfast area. She seemed to have an angry look on her face throughout the entire day and she made me feel like I was bothering her when I asked for extra utensils or plates. Also, the difference in the breakfast food between she and the other breakfast employee was immense.

We had a wonderful stay here. Staff was friendly and efficient. Amenities were nice. The central location was great for the activities we had planned. Excellent value for the price. Everything was very clean.

Property was nice, clean, and it was a great location for us being we were going to do a day trip to the Keys and visit the Everglades. The location made it easy to do. The on-sight breakfast bar was great but did find it to not be fully stocked on the mornings we ate there. The hot tub was also out of commission which is why we had chosen to pay a little more for this property over others in the area.

Stayed there from 23rd to 29th Nov 21 Hotel is in a great location for Keys & Everglades, rooms comfortable, take out breakfast sufficient, staff friendly and ample parking. Unfortunately, most nights 5/6 we had disturbed sleep! From someone having a heated conversation on speaker phone @ 1 am outside walking along balcony. Another time a maroon truck (Texas licence plates) with about 4 or 5 chaps in the car park at around 6pm playing very, very loud music, drinking & singing, they buggered off at about 8pm only to return at 1.30 am to around 2.30 to 3am continuing to make as much bloody racket as they could !!!!!!!! Another night, sounded like someone was “disrespected” and she “didn't care if she woke up the god damn neighbourhood” this continued from 11pm to well past 1.30… Seems a little like a half way house at times with no thought for others staying there. I believe this was probably out of control of the hotel ? A disappointing stay - more to do with guests than the staff who all work hard.

This was a perfect spot for me to spend a day, or two before my cruise out of Miami. Even though it's about 25 miles from the cruise pier, it's an awesome place to stay. It's my 2nd time here and I will stay here every time I cruise out of Miami. It's just off the highway, it's quiet, it's clean, it's comfortable and the staff are fantastic. The rooms are really nice and spacious and the pool area is in the center of the hotel and very spacious, as well. There's a full breakfast area and coffee is 24 hrs a day! As a bonus, there are MANY choices for food right within walking distance - literally a few minutes at best and plenty of shopping choices, too! I won't stay anywhere else. Hard to beat - especially for the price!!!

Horrible choice! Appears to be an old motel 6 . Horrible neighborhood. Sketchy people hanging abound the parking lot all hours of the night. Poor room decor. Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Foul odor in the room. Low lit parking lot. Paper thin walls make for very noises night being right in back of major businesses and gas station. Not what I expect to see from a Best Western hotel. Breakfast was cold and left out in foam containers to take ONLY no seating at all allowed. Old fruit and bad coffee. Do not waste money

Our first stay at this property in October was less that ideal due to room not being cleaned well & a couple routine Diamond Member perks the front desk mishandled. The General Manager, Annabel Deleon reached out to us with a nice email, apologizing for our experience, explaining that COVID was the reason for the Diamond Member issues and promising to use this as training opportunity for the staff - All good things. Feeling better about returning I booked a 2nd stay, adding in the remarks that we would be traveling with our daughter and 1 year old granddaughter, I requested an early check in if possible & to please make sure we received a nice, comfortable, very clean room. I also reached out to Annabel with our confirmation # and the same information as in the remarks. Day of I called the hotel & asked for Annabel, the gentleman who answered said she would be in soon, but they had a room set aside for us. However the occupants had not checked out yet, & it would also need to be cleaned. I replied we would check back in with him in a bit. Meanwhile we grabbed a meal & visited the local park so our toddler could run around to work off her energy from being in a car seat for 2 hours I called back & a young woman answered this time, she stated Annabel would not be in at all, also that the only poolside ground floor room available hadn't checked out yet, I could wait an hour and try back, or they could put us in a 2nd floor room. I told her rather than wait we would travel down to Key West so we could spend as much of the day there with our family as possible, & just check in later instead. Asking where the room was she said in the main building down from the breakfast area so very convenient. When we arrived later (around 9:30pm) the gentleman at the desk said our room was in a different building, when I inquired if this was the same room that had been set aside and special cleaned for us he said he believed it was, & could not explain why the other staff member told me it was in the main building At the room we slid the bed over to set a porta crib up & found thick dust/dried sticky substance under the edge, the bath exhaust fan was fury, there was greasy black stuff around tub drain (no bath for toddler), a banana sticker on the vanity edge & the fridge was off & sink vanity light burned out. The tile above the water in pool has a greasy scum & the bottom was dirty - Same as OCT stay!

Stopped at the hotel on a drive to the Keys. The hotel is situated just off the road, making it quieter than local completion. The hotel itself is clean, with the rooms a decent size with basic enemies. Would fully recommend- great value.

Great location for starting your drive to the FL keys. Hotel was clean and it was a great stay. Breakfast was good, but to-go option was cold-- however this is due to COVID restrictions. Other breakfast foods (waffle, yogurt, coffee) were great. The pool was a little dirty and cold, but still fun to use! Wish the hot tub was in working order. Overall great stay and it set up our trip the keys really well.

Some of minor flaws: Bathroom door was not able to close correctly#223, occasional mildew on pool furniture, same boring hard boil eggs and cheap sausage on the grab and go breakfast, contractors parking in the handicap spaces. Pool was cold and hot tub was out of service for what appears to be for an extended period of time. THE PROS: Fair rates, decent variety of other breakfast items,fresh fruit,great coffee throughout most of the day, SECURITY at night,mostly polite friendly employees. Beds were comfortable. Flat screen tv on wall,mic,frig., were all added bonuses. In summary, everything exceeded my expectations with the exception of the slight grumpiness of the morning desk attendant or manager. I will let the grumpiness slide and would definitely recommend this hotel to value minded travelers who want to feel safe, sleep well, and wake up to a well above average pandemic era breakfast and great coffee.

We had a last minute trip to key west and everything was booked. Florida city was the closet we could find. Pretty cheap fairly clean. Not much breakfast selection and I was told it ended at 10 but at 920 they were putting stuff away. Not a bad place.

Room clean, air-conditioned, easy parking. Pool too small to use for swimming. Lots of noisy kids till late. Standard, typical chain hotel. Breakfast tasteless, dead, starchy food stuff. Staff unnecessarily rude and unfriendly. Would not honor on-line rate. Ok for a night after a long drive. Clean, safe, adequate.

Not at all what I expected from a Best Western. Front desk was not welcoming or friendly. She was so unfriendly and ignored any questions I had. Due to Covid prepared food was boxed and cold. How do you heat up a hard boiled egg? Why not an omelette or scrambled eggs that can be warmed in microwave? No salt and pepper packets. No stirrers for coffee in room. Coffee creamer old. The place was scary for a woman staying alone. People talking in parking lot late at night. No security and no water bottles in vending machines. Sold out! Scary to go downstairs and to end of property for ice and vending machines.

This place was great met all my needs with covid the space was a plus the pool was very nice and neat ground kept clean front desk available ac in the room was the best security made rounds regularly there were lots of families staying great area close to everything literally gate way to the keys

My daughter and I were lucky to find this Travelodge, about halfway between Miami and the Keys for a decent price. We enjoyed our two night stay. Everything was clean when we arrived. Our room wasn't cleaned after the first night due to covid, and I understand. We aren't messy anyways. The grab and go breakfast was adequate. It had a muffin, granola bar , fruit, and bottle of water. We could take our own juice, coffee, hot chocolate, or instant oatmeal at the office. It was also nice that the parking spaces were numbered for each room, so we were able to park directly in front of our room. We didn't use the pool, but the people in it looked like they enjoyed it. Check in and check out was quick. If you're hungry, there are several restaurants that give a discount for staying at this Travelodge. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We were driving from the Keys to Miami and this is a nice place to stop. Off the fwy, clean and spacious. Rate was very good, grab and go breakfast better than most Jacuzzi was not working though, but I saw pool toys, Connect Four and Corn Hole

This is by far the most beautiful best western I've stayed at, the rooms are clean immaculate, and they are all remodeled. They have beautiful wood floors throughout the room which is a bonus cause it makes it more sanitary. The amenities and grounds are just beautiful and everything is so clean. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks beat western for making our stay such a Joy!

Upon arrival the room was clean, however we found the roaches in the room and the staff had to come and spray. Also the housekeeping staff didn't bring clean linens or towels and we continually had to call the front desk to get clean towels. They never swept the room and they never cleaned the bathroom. I had to go to the store and buy cleaning products to clean it myself.

Was a pleasant surprise! Rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The only downfall for us was the pool area was closed! We were never told why, that would of been nice to know before we booked. This weekend was very hot and that pool would of been Great!! I understand due to Covid the dinning area was closed. I have stayed at this specific hotel twice in the last 2 years. Both times the front staff were great as was all support staff. Breakfast is modified but still have plenty to offer including to go boxes with bagels, hard boiled eggs, and sausage. They also had oatmeal, waffles, yogurt and cereal. Pool area is nice and clean. The rates always seem reasonable. Rooms are clean and I like that you can smell the bleach on the bedding. It's tropical so you will see some insects, lizards and birds, but nothing in the rooms! Great halfway between Ft. Lauderdale and the Keys. Try M.E.A.T in Islamadora. It's in a strip mall but the food is bomb. We go it to go and ate at a local park.

good rooms, clean, no bed bugs, nice shower, nice heat, nice beds, overall clean solid, well staffed property. outdoor entry into room, initially looks choppy with the age of hotel, but its surprisingly well maintained.

This hotel was fairly basic, but very clean and quiet. We enjoyed the layout of the room and the fact that the floors were not carpet which felt much more hygenic considering we were always coming in wet from the pool or beach. The staff here is what really will make your stay enjoyable. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, my girls loved coming back in the room to see the beds made and their stuffed animals sweetly arranged. The staff working the pool and breakfast area were so helpful, one even helped make my girls a waffle when I had my hands full. They kept the pool and commen areas super clean, and every employee was generally pleasant to interact with.

The price for the hotel was perfect and affordable for the length of our stay. We would definitely stay here again. The rooms are very clean and the staff was great very friendly. Beds are hard but still sleepable.

My family has been to the Keys before and this time instead of the Keys we were looking to explore Everglades NP and Biscayne NP. This hotel was in the perfect location for just that. It was central to both of those parks but we also visited beaches and restaurants in Key Largo and it was only about 30 minutes away. The whole experience was great. Room was clean and roomy, which was important since I currently have a broken foot and am using a scooter. Note that, while breakfast is still offered, it was grab and go at this location due to Covid.

It was great and the people were extremely nice. For the past 2 months we have stayed in 6 different hotels across the country and this one by far has exceed them all even the "4 star" hotel in Las Vegas.

No issues. We stayed 1 night. Flew in late to Miami. Easy drive from Miami Airport. Easy drive to the Keys. Good price. Nothing fancy. Room was clean with nice tile floors. Easy check in and check out process.

Everytime I called this property to ask questions before our stay, the staff was very good answering my questions. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the trip. Our reservation was through Expedia and the hotel put in the request for the cancellation for us. It was approved by Expedia. The staff sent me an email with confirmation of the cancellation. Very reasonable rates. Booked primarily because it listed a spa ( hot tub ) and my wife has a bad back making travel uncomfortable. On arrival we were told it was broken and the clerk did not know when it would be fixed. Another clerk who had been lounging on two chairs looking at there phone, overheard our disappointment that we came for the spa and said " If all you came for was the spa you can cancel and we will give your money back." Not helpful at 7pm when we are ready to unwind. Rooms are noisy but clean enough. Service staff friendly and helpful.

Room looked clean we walked around without shoes and found our feet filthy afterwards. Old tub looked dirty and chipped tile in bathroom. Loss of power in room when using hair dryer and light in dressing room flickered. It had a small refrigerator which was nice.

never stay at this hotel its horrific. Horrible stains on bed sheets and on the walls. The noise level from the joining room was horrific they kept trying to open the door. The snell in the room was moldy

Everything was as it should and the staff make it better. Nice clean pool. Most hotels are lazy and just close the pool. BW makes sure your on vacation when your on vacation. I will be staying more often. In usually stay at holiday inn. But that's over.

The Best Western in Florida City is correct in labeling itself "Gateway To The Keys" as we spent two nights there before and after visiting the Keys. Our rooms were large, clean and well appointed with very comfortable beds. Grab and Go breakfast was great to get you started each morning. Had a laundry area which came in handy on our week long trip to Florida. Only minus was both rooms had some rust on the tubs which should be addressed. We'd stay again!

The exterior of the building needs some scrubbing or a fresh coat of paint and the traffic is busy but the hotel rooms and pool area are clean, quiet and safe. A great stay for the cost with lots of attractions, restaurants, etc within a short drive. Would stay again if looking for an option just north of the Keys.

Great location for visiting the 2 local National Parks. Be sure to visit Robert Is Here Fruit Stand, about a mile from the hotel, for great shakes, and unusual fruit. Room was clean, nothing fancy. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

We chose the hotel for its proximity to Miami and the Keys and Everglades. It was perfect. The hotel itself wasn't amazing but the staff was and we all had a good night's sleep in comfortable beds every night. The hotel was clean and maintained just not new.

Cleanest Hotel we stayed at in a 9 day trip from Michigan to the Florida Keys i chose this hotel after reading reveiws and a pre booked hotels reviews stated cockroaches so we called Best Western IM SO THANKFUL I DID!! I would stay there again

We just stayed 6 nights at the Best Western. A great location central to the 3 main national parks, and to the Keys. The hotel and rooms were clean, comfortable, and even during busy spring break mornings, the breakfast area was kept well stocked. They have a nice pool area with jacuzzi, and both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating to any need we had the whole time. Definitely recommend this property if staying in Homestead/Florida City, for a night or for a long term stay.

Good accommodation at a very reasonable price. Can be very noisy though and the housekeeping trollies seem to have hard wheels and when being wheeled along outside sound like an earthquake in the room.

Comfortable beds and good rate. Pool and hot tub is a bonus. We stayed one night going down at a competitor hotel for the same price, that was horrible compared to this property. Beds at the BW are comfortable. The entire place was spotless. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub so much we booked a second night just to relax before the drive home. Hopefully the bagged breakfast will be replaced with traditional fair soon. Just a downside of traveling during covid. Typical restrictions in all chains we have been staying at. Having a microwave and fridge in the room is nice. We just grab breakfast sandwiches and keep them in the rooms. Overall...this BW was better than the one we stayed at in Key West at less than half the price.

When I checked in I was informed that they would not accept my credit card. I have used the same card for 15 yrs for hotels so I don't run my regular credit cards up. Totally disgusted by this! I am a diamond elite member and I have NEVER had any other Best Western refuse my card. Also, I asked for another bath towel since they only gave us 2. I use 2 and my husband uses 1. I went to the desk to get one and was told that she would bring me one. An hour later, I went back to the desk and she had forgotten. She called someone on the walkie about it, but they didn't answer. The girl had NO idea what to do. She offered me a hand towel, like that would work. She finally gave me a tiny pool towel. Totally inefficient!

I've had the opportunity along with my family stay at this hotel for an extended period of time and the staff from Mr. Patel to the housekeepers have been amazing. In fact Mr. Patel has been and is compassionate and attends to the needs of ALL GUEST. I read one review which is far from the truth about Mr. Patel, staff and hotel this place has exceeded all of my expectations. I would recommend this place to anyone.

do not stay here, Mr. Patel is a lying jerk who does not deserve your business, there are lots of other places close by to stay, they are taking full advantage of reducing services due to Covid, while other coworkers in nearby places for same event said they had none

The pool looked wonderful and there was a security guard that patrolled the area. I felt safe here on the premises. The room, however, was dirty. There was powder or sand all over the floor and the bathroom floor had hair and dirt in the corners and the toilet was dirty on the bottom. There was also no carpet in the room which made the room feel cold and unwelcoming.

This was the 2nd hotel we stayed in while in Florida City and by far the better of the two. We were assigned a 1st floor room by the pool, which was very convenient as it was also close to the parking lot. The hotel exterior is nice and the landscaping is attractive. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was soooooo comfortable. The location, right off Highway 1 was very convenient. The breakfast - grab and go due to COVID, wasn't great, but they had POG juice! My favorite! Staff was friendly. The price was reasonable for this area. We would definitely stay here again.

Fast check in and check out, front desk people very kind. Very clean room, very good smell. All facilities available. The location it was perfect for me because is very close to the US1 and close of the gas station.

We booked this hotel due to its great location in relation to the keys and the Everglades. It was very reasonably priced but had some issues. The pool wasn't very full and was quite dirty. The hot tub was hardly any warmer than the pool which wasn't heated. We still used both of them though. The to-go breakfast was just a muffin, bottle of water, and an orange. We have stayed at hotels on this trip that had much better to-go options. The room was... okay. It wasn't particularly clean. A couple stains on the sheets and some cosmetic issues in the bathroom. The air conditioner was on high all the time and the room was still pretty warm. I was hoping for something better from a Best Western. Still though, it met our needs and was a reasonable price with a good location.

The room was clean and there was no carpeting in the room which made it smell fresh. Staff were very polite. Pool was spot-on for relaxing and the table and chairs set up around the pool area were comfortable.

The lady that checked me in and out was not friendly at all either time. Didn't say hello or thank you. She also never gave me information about the wifi or breakfast on check-in. Room door knob was super dirty and so was the room. No extra cleaning during the pandemic, definitely not properly. I had to spray the whole floor and when I wiped it the towel was black!! And the hotel on the site says breakfast, well there isn't a breakfast..

this filthy hotel is unsafe. The manager is a rude condescending woman who did not seem to care about the roaches in the room. Since I was already there I tried another room. It was unclear, loud, and had a funky smell. The people at the pool were throwing game signs, cursing, drinking, and smoking Marijuana. You will not get any rest at this filthy hotel. The pool is also filthy with hair and bandaids floating. I have neve experienced such rude behavior and filth

Checked in. The toilet had faceas on it and the room smells badly and the floors are not clean. We let it slide. We had hoped house keeping would come sort it out. Got back today, and well no house keeping. Apparently evey three days because health reasons. It wasn't too clean to start with. I did complain, but the lady in reception wasn't really too concerned that I was unhappy. I was reminded that I can call the manager in the morning ..... to which I replied .... nope she can call me. Sorry Best Western. Dropped the ball here.

Our family stayed here for 7 nights. It's your basic no frills room, with small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The good-- the pool was a hit with our 3 year old. It's a little old, goes up to 6 ft, and felt warm most days (body temp warm). There's a small jacuzzi which was regularly used by guest. There are pool towels at the front deak. The okay-- no breakfast due to COVID-19. The room was only cleaned every 3 days and upon request. Overall, we would stay here again. It's a good deal and it's proximity to the highway and eateries makes it worth it.

We would have stayed here 2 nights on march 21 and 22, but unfortunately we had to leave after one night due to the corona pandemic. Unless we had to leave and had to return to the Netherlands we enjoyed our stay over here pretty much. The hotel is clean with a nice swimming pool in the garden. the room is spacious enough. The only negative point is the king bed is way to small. Due to the corona pandemic we didn't have they opportunity to enjoy there breakfast, but the breakfast area looks good so I expect this would have been great. The hotel arranged a take away breakfast (in a bag) for us, which was a good initiative, but we were not really fond of what we got. But it are hard times for everybody also for this hotel so we don't blame them for this. If you're in this area and you're searching for a good hotel for a affordable price we recommend this hotel to everyone

I chose BW Gateway to the Florida keys as my Wedding Hotel for my wedding block and it could not have been a better decision! The venue was 10 minutes away and the hotel is half way between Miami and the Keys.... Not only have the rooms been updated, and the beds, etc... but the hotel staff is so helpful and sweet. They seamlessly distributed personalized welcome bags to everyone's rooms the day of check-in. They let me host my welcome/rehearsal dinner by the pool (50+ people) and even roped off an area for me and my guests, and helped with the set up and break down of the tables. When I left on my honeymoon they stored our luggage until we returned a few weeks later.... Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good shower water pressure, caring and friendly staff, what more could you ask for? It was perfect. Thank you to Annabel, Samantha and all the hotel staff for making my stay and the stays of my guests so memorable. We will be back.

Horrible front customer service during the Corona Virus. We had no place to go since we had flown down to look at purchasing a sailboat and they were rude and no food. We thought they should gave at least something except water. The hotel is great just rude staff during our time in need.

We had a large 2 queen room that was clean but somewhat dated. The TV was very small and there were gaps all around the door that let in light. Thin skimpy towels. It was basically quiet after dark. Nice pool area. Typical breakfast, nothing special. OK for one night.

We came from the a day at the Florida keys and needed a room outside the keys because of the cost but a reasonable distance from Fort Lauderdale airport. This place was perfect! This is also a perfect spot to stay if visiting the Everglades. Close to Alligator farm. 30 minutes from Key largo. 1 hour to airport. Clean comfortable rooms for four. Has a small kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker , sink and fridge. Free breakfast. Large outside pool area and hot tub.

Front desk reception indifferent. The person I delt with was efficient buy seemed to have had a long day dealing with guests. Room was dirty. The reason we stayed here was because it was the closest hotel to the Keys. Unfortunately, it is very old and well used. The best part was the breakfast, which was pretty good and varied. Also itl had the best price in the area. However, believe it was overpriced for what you receive. Suggest you choose another motel in the area if you can.

Staff was very professional and friendly. They were always attentive to our needs. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection. The rooms, lobby, pool area, halls and dining area were all clean and were well attended by the staff. A great location for visiting the parks and the Keys. Four of us stayed one night before driving to Key West and we will all be staying two nights on the way back to visit the Everglades. We were all pleased with our rooms.

The hotel was ok for it's category. The location is quite for a stop from the Keys to the Everglades. The breakfast was better than we expected. But unfortunately I have to reduce the rating by 3 stars, because of all that plastic at the breakfast. Plastic plates, cups for coffee and juice. Even the cereal bowl was out of plastic. The knives and forks were wood, but that diesn't makes it better. It's trash in the end. Unimaginable in Europe! Is it cheaper? Is it more comfortable to throw all that trash away instead of washing pocelain plates and metal knife and reuse them for ages? I dont't think so. Please, make America great (again?) and change that behavior. You kill the planet, America!

Great stay on the way back from Key West to Airport Breakfast is inclusive however the stay 2 days get one free did not work. Apparently they send an email in 2 to 4 weeks. So then I will be back in the UK. :-(

The cleanliness of the room and outdoors was phenominal! All the staff was super friendly. The breakfast was outstanding. The room was very spacious. The linens were extremely white and clean. The hot water WAS hot! The pool and surrounding area was really beautiful. The mattress and pillows were very, very comfortable. The a/c worked perfectly. I do want to make a special note that the maid service was above and beyond what I expected. They were extremely friendly and personable. The supervisor made a special effort to stop and ask how the service has been. The maids all made me feel like a member of their family. I will definitely stay here on my next trip.

A well situated hotel South of Miami excellent for several days stay located for easy travel to the Everglades and exploring the Keys.The usual facilities were very good and buffet breakfast well stocked and replenished quickly.

We needed a stop before heading to Marathon Key & were glad we found this hotel! The room was very clean, staff friendly, the pool area is great & so is the breakfast! We got in town a little early & had time to explore the Everglades, & Key Biscayne. Also make sure you drive up to Alabama Jack's for a good meal on the water. I definately recommend this hotel when exploring Southern Florida.

We discovered this hotel five years ago and have stayed for at least one night every year since using it as a base to explore the Everglades and/or head off to the Keys. It is somewhat remarkable how comparatively inexpensive this facility is given all it has to offer. As always the facility is clean, secure, has a great pool and pool patio, and fantastic breakfast and much more.

Cafeteria attendant smells like alcohol & was talking on the phone the whole time. Also the sausages were not cooked correctly and eggs don't taste right, front desk crew had cute girls and good service.

We stayed first floor, end room. Entrance to room is from the parking lot. We heard a Harley Davidson fire up and crackle with sound in the parking lot a few times before nodding off. Breakfast in the morning was usual fare, but efficient and clean. Smallish, but nice pool in center courtyard with lots of outdoor seating and tables. Location convenient for our trips to Robert is Here Fruit stand, Florida Everglades and gateway for our trip to Florida Keys.

We were warmly greeted by Margintina and Alma. They not only made us feel at home but were extremely helpful with room availability and near by facilities for my handi capped friend. The hotel was comfortable and inviting, we ended up staying a second night.

They really need to do some updates to the beds and pillows. Updates overall. Staff was good, location good. Breakfast was fair, not worth writing about. Pool area was nice, clean. It just needs to get some updating done.

Great hotel easy access to keys and Everglades. The hotel looks newly remodeled And our room was clean and spacious. Pool was gorgeous. I would recommend as a good hotel to use when traveling the area to see the local sites.

A convenient location to get to the Everglades, this hotel is an economical and value-for-money option. It also appears to be very popular with Europeans (the highest concentration we came across on our trip so far). Understandably so, despite being a fairly basic place, the hotel has a great pool area with pool, deck chairs and hot tub all nicely arranged. Our room was also spacious and comfortable. There was a fridge, iron and coffee maker. The bathroom had seen better days but there was plenty of room to put ones toiletries. The bed was pretty comfortable. The room was very clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful (bar one lady who was a bit frosty at check-in). Breakfast was the normal American chain hotel offering. The breakfast area got a bit overcrowded. They had cookies on offer in the afternoon, which was a nice touch, and you could help yourself to hot drinks throughout the day. This place has a guest laundry, which is always really handy when you are travelling for more than a week. Around the hotel you'll only really find fast food / chain restaurants but Homestead is only a few minutes drive away, and whilst not a particularly interesting town, Homestead does have some great eating options. Overall, great value for money.

Stayed here for two nights. Typical Motel with doors on the outside and of course they always give you rooms on the sexond floor so you have to drag all your stuff up the stairs as there is no elevator. Room was as standard as you can get for a motel. Air-conditioning made so much noise I think even people three rooms down couldn't sleep because of the noise. Staff was very interested and was always playing with their phones watching movies instead of helping guest. Vending machines were empty. Breakfast was standard continental but for a continental it was OK. Price for the room was hefty.

This property is older but extremely well maintained and clean. It is a motel without interior corridors. Very safe area. A number of places to eat within a one to two mile radius. This is a real bargain. The staff is friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is good. Rates directly through the hotel or through Best Western are very reasonable. Save a little money with no regrets.

This is a motel hotel....doors to rooms are outside. Overall good experience. Room was clean, service was great , price was reasonable. Has a pool and hot tub, AMD some rooms open onto that area. Plenty of free parking. There were restaurants within walking distance

I'm sorry to find this great location has let their product slip. The beds were not comfortable. The sheets are way over used, rough, and thin. The bathroom should have been cleaner. The check in was .... casual and not professional. They still have a good breakfast. But we've stayed here yearly for many years in a row and this year I left after 1 night to another location. Price too high and quality less than experienced in years passed.

This Best Western is an older hotel, but well maintained. Every person that works here that I met, was friendly and helpful. I choose this hotel because of the price, and I got what I paid for. Clean rooms, a quiet room, and a decent breakfast. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, waffle maker, sweets , juice and coffee. We were here on a weekend and the breakfast area was always filled up, but each day we did find a place for the four of us to sit. My only complaint would be that the scrambled eggs were a bit salty. Pool looked very clean, even though we did not use it. Free cookies I the check-in area. I would recommend this place to a friend.

The room is barebones with no chairs. The floor was so dirty I had to wash my feet after walking barefoot on it. The included breakfast is nice and the lobby/breakfast room was clean. Unfortunately, this is the best place near the Everglades entrance.

We stayed here after visiting the keys and returning to FLL. We arrived early after getting off a cruise ship. The lady at the front desk was nice enough to let us into our room early. Much appreciated! The late check out time of noon was also convenient. Great price and complimentary hot breakfast provided. Would definitely stay here again.

The rooms have been updated and look great. They are always clean and the area is quiet. The staff are super friendly. They offer breakfast which is always a plus. I always stay here when I'm in Homestead or the lower Keys. I would highly recommend.

Very clean and neat hotel. Spacious room. It has a nice inner yard with a medium sized pool which our door opened to. Pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. We wanted to stay a second night and asked the front desk to extend one more night. However we were told we need to first check out at noon and then check in at 4 pm. That's why the rating is 4 not 5 stars.

The receptionists were very good, especially Isabella. The swimming pool was clean and large. The hot tub was not quite hot enough. In my room the tall light by the desk did not work, even when I changed to another bulb. The toilet ran. The breakfast was fine. I was disappointed as this was my fourth straight B. Western hotel on a long tripfrom the north to Florida.

The hotel was awesome, the desk people; rm cleaner; the buffet bkft was great; hotel was clean, easy to locate; all the sightseeing attraction and restaurants all close by. Close to the Everglades National Park and Key West.

The rooms are a bit older but we'll kept. Check-in was very efficient and the lady at check-in did an excellent job, even with my complicated arrival documents. Breakfast was your normal bw food with waffles, scrambled eggs etc. I would stay there again.

This was a busy evening but the staff were very pleasant and informative with each person waiting to check in. We were up forgraded, at no cost, to a beautiful poolside room. Because we prefer ground floor, the receptionist made a change to accommodate us. This is a meticulous hotel for a great price. Pool area is gorgeous, hot tub warm, and just a very pleasant place to stay. It is close to the Everglades entrance.

Great place, very good breakfast options, awesome service, rooms are clean and comfortable, nice pool area and spa, cookies available in lobby, check-out at 12pm, Walmart at 5 mins driving, CVS, Rexall, McDonald's, Pollo Tropical, etc, lots of restaurants and services close to the hotel. Had a good price, lower than any other hotel in the area, booked a few days before stay, would recommend this location. Close to Alligator Farm and Everglades National Park. Lots to see in the area.

Nice clean room with all amenities one may expect. It also serves up a decent breakfast. I needed a place to stay for a visit to Key West. This one caught my eye by stating it's the gateway tot Key West. It sure is. It's only a few feet away from US 1 that will take you to the Keys. I think it may proudly call itself Gateway to the Keys.

Just stayed two nights on way to visit the Key West but everything was great. Clean, good hot breakfast, and nice staff. Lots of places to eat many with-in walking distance. Too cold to try the pool but it was very nice looking and clean.

Our stay at Best Wester in Florida City was a very wise decision. The motel is very close to the park entrance and Key Largo is only a short drive south. The room was large and very clean. After a restful night we enjoyed a hot breakfast and a late checkout we proceeded to Miami beach only about 45 minutes away.

We came In from Ft Lauderdale to visit the Everglades Alligator Farm and Robert is Here Fruit Stand on our way south to the Keys. After a great day of fun and sun, we needed a place to sleep before heading south again. The Best Western Gateway is clean, quiet, and close to all sorts of great places! The pool is fantastic and the staff is nice and helpful. We will definitely stay here again the next time we head to Key West!!

This stay was an unplanned visit on our way to the Keys. We are so glad we stopped. The hotel is super. We liked it so much we stayed a second night. The hotel was very nice. The rooms were great and very clean. The girls Cindy and Margintina were just amazing!! They made us feel so welcome. The free breakfast each morning was super! Check in nightmare, issued room, went to room to find someone sitting on bed and not cleaned, back to office issued another room, on the noisy side. Never an apology enntry or exit. Never asked how was your stay. service is non existant!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice place to stay - staff was courteous and helpful. Beautiful aquarium in the foyer. Room was clean and roomy, with table and two chairs, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast was good, with hot scrambled eggs and bacon, yogurt, fruit, cereal, bagels, bread/toast, muffins, etc.

We had a perfectly clean quiet room to stay in and enjoyed it. We were part of a group of 150 people and had no problems with the hotel whatsoever. I especially enjoyed the coffee in the lobby, and the breakfast in the morning

we go visit the everglades a couple times a year, and have stayed at a number of motels in the area. best western gateway is one of the best in the area. clean rooms, good location, fast check-in. 2 sinks in the room made it easy to get ready in the morning. good breakfast with a large selection. highly recommend.

We got here after sunset so it was hard to find never having been here before. The sign is small so put on your gos to find the driveway. The room was fine for one night. It was a little noisy since the whole motel was filled on Thanksgiving holiday with families. Breakfast room was a tight fit because we all got up at the same time lol. Recent updates, but tub drain was rusty and bottom of tub was scratched. For the price, it was quite acceptable however given we were on our way to the Keys and it is twice or more expensive there. Good place for the one night.

had several problems here. I do not usually stay at best western. in this case it should be worst western. check in was slow and Cindy was not nice. she tried to charge me again for a room that was paid. noticed a dirty room .. but decided to stay. I was tired and wanted the hot tub. loud guest ...and witnessed employees sneaking in and out of rooms that were clearly for them. I reported marijuana smell out of the same room and reported it around 9 when I took a shower there was hair in the shower. the vent was filthy. loud neighbors woke me u p around 11. went back to sleep. at 2 loud talking woke me again.. I went to the hot tub. Orlando from security came down and told me the hot tub was closed and I needed o get out now, then he accused me of jumping the fence. I am to old to jump the fence. I showed him the gate that was open and did not get and apology. I checked out at 230 am because of the team. I ask for a call from anabelle the manager. no call .. called back twice and called corporate once. no call back .they do not care about guest , I reported that employee room as they were smoking POT in it . the team could care less. do not take your kids here. this is a drug hotel clearly at the employees desire. the GM is clearly involved. I am just getting started on social media. I do not plan on this happening to another unaware traveler. beware.

Front desk Receptionist, Margintina was extremely helpful! Only thing I didn't enjoy is the PILLOWS they use in the rooms. Come across these pillows in many BW's. Uncomfortable! Other than that, it was good. We went to Key West for the day and enjoyed the trip back to the hotel, other than the traffic. l

I have stayed here many times on my way to the Keys. It has always been a great experience until I checked in with Annabel. I had requested a first floor room since I am 80 I hate stairs. She said no way, consequently I couldn't get my suitcase to my room!

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the service, cleanliness and beautiful facility. The accessible room was one of the best I have stayed in as the shower was perfectly set up which is unusual. The staff were responsive and pleasant. The cost is very reasonable. The breakfast was good. Finally, the hotel is convenient to both the Everglades and the Keys.

My friend and I stayed overnight on November 18th 2019 Alma was phenomenal at assisting us with her booking our room. I have mobility issues requiring a room on the first floor and she was able to accommodate us. after checking out this morning my friend and I decided to come back and stay one more night at the Best Western. Argentina was phenomenal in assisting us poking our room. I just want to say thank you to both ladies for all their assistance. Our room clean and very comfortable. All staff were courteous and helpful.

My wife and I stay in Florida City for one night at the end of October. We have stayed at hotels in the area but this was our first visit to this BW and we were not disapointed. We had a friendly greeting, the room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was superior to the others. We will stay here again in the future.

Perfect location before traveling through the Keys. Beautiful courtyard with pool and hot tub...nice place to relax in the evening. The rooms are large and spacious...table & chairs, refrigerator, microwave, two sinks, etc. We stayed two nights on either end of our week in Key West. We loved the room we were in for our first two days so we asked if we could have the same room upon our return. They were happy to comply with our request and our room was waiting for us when we returned. Location is very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Miami airport is about 1 hour away...Key Largo about 30 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel. A complimentary breakfast is available but it was the same fare you find at every complimentary breakfast...no special there.

Soon as we walked into the room, I doubted our choice. The room had a really strong bleach smell which took a few hours to air out. After a day out and coming back to the room, you could still smell it. During the night, the tiled area around the bathroom had puddles of water which we're not sure where it came from. The gap under the front door was around 1 inch, it was also filthy and had to be forced open. The floors were the dirtiest floors ive ever seen inside ANY building. After stepping out of the shower my foot went black so I used some towels to give the floor a wipe and they turned completely black. (See Photo) The floors throughout made white socks black. There were tiny spots of blood around the toilet, this is usually because of the presence of fleas, although I didn't see any. Also hairs, everywhere. The bedding was covered in hairs and had bits on plastic in it, I doubt these were changed from the last guest. The noise at night by other guests shouting and stomping about kept us up at night. Had to get up to remove mosquitos during the night, probably let in through the gaps around the door. Other squished bugs could be seen around the walls of the room. Overall, most things were broken, noisy or dirty. How this place gets a good rating, ive no idea. Wouldn't stay again if you paid me.

Margintina and samantha are the best. Hotel is friendly and clean. Staff is top notch. Breakfast every morning helps you start the day off right. They knew the best places to check out and have a good time. Call to book your room for a good price and good time.

We stayed here for a wedding in Homestead. The hotel was nice, clean, and close to everything.It was a convenient entrance to the keys.The staff was friendly. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Good clean non smoking room, no smell, Nice wooden/laminate Floor, good bed, good/clean bathroom, fridge and microwave in room and plenty restaurants around. Them also Robert is here and Super Walmart nearby, good for a stop heading for Key West.

The Young Ladies at the front desk promptly greeted us, check in took a few minutes. Was informed about everything. This place is a five star Hotel! I travel alot and this is a great place to stay! Pool area is where we loved to be. Big area and clean pool.

This hotel stay was a last minute decision but a great choice. Location to restaurants and Walmart is ideal. Rooms are nice and spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and present. The outside pool area had nice seating and was kept clean. I definitely would stay there again.

The rooms are clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. I do like that the doors are on the outside. You do not have to go into the lobby to get to your room. I do not like that the decor and Furniture are old. I have come to expect a certain standard from Best Western. These rooms were just more outdated then I am used to. But the property was clean in for the price you cannot beat it.

Two story hotel with the pool/courtyard in the middle of a “U” shape. Building and rooms were clean and well maintained. Check in was easy and quick and getting to the hotel was super easy. The pool and courtyard was right up our ally, very nice. We didn't go in the pool or hot tub, but had a drink and went over the rest of our trip while enjoying the night. The bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of pressure. The only negative was when a rolling luggage went by upstairs you definitely heard it. No one arrived late and we were up early so NBD. I'd stay here again for sure.

This was a great place to stay for a few days. It was convenient for the Everglades and the Keys which is what we wanted. We had a nice spacious room which was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the staff were lovely, polite and helpful. They also do an excellent breakfast. Plus there are plenty of eateries nearby for dinner. If I have a gripe, it is a very minor one, they don't give you enough coffee in the room. But then you are always welcome to pop down to reception and help yourself there.

Upon arrival around 4:00 our room was not available we had to wait another hour before it was ready. The multi media room pc was not working. That aside the front desk staff bent over backwards to make us comfortable.

This hotel is close to Florida Keys, rooms, and exterior are extremely clean. Staff was very professional, kind, and attentive. We were greeted by receptionist Tina & Cindy and they were a pleasure to speak with and made our check in so easy and quick. Thank you and look forward to staying here again!

We had a great one night stay with our daughters. The pool was fun, the room was comfy, and the breakfast was wonderful! Also, everyone one on the staff we spoke too was happy and helpful. Great hospitality all around! We will back again in the future.

Stayed two nights. Perfect location for visiting the Florida Keys. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was large and inviting. We had a king room and it had a sink in the bathroom and one out in the area where the fridge/microwave was. Very convenient.The pool area was amazing. Breakfast was very good with plenty from which to choose. Would highly recommend !!

Traveled from New York to visit my daughter for a few days. Very clean and modern. Nearby US 1 where you can find pretty much anything you want. Quiet and comfortable. Nice pool area and a good breakfast. Great value!

My stay at the best western was great and the front desk clerks, Margintina and Alma were few at wirg getting me checked in quick and helping me in time of need with making important decisions and a few tasks.

The Hotel was excellent, the breakfast was a nice wide spread of things that catered to all. The staff was polite and went the extra mile. The rooms were clean and roomy. Overall we had a great experience.

Good check In staff good very helpful, Rooms ok two big double beds bathroom ok and a kitchenette with coffee maker. Annoyingly no suitcase stands so they are on the floor. Breakfast included in price, good value good choice regularly topped up, plastic cutlery and plates though. Coffee is available 24 hrs free nice touch. Pool area is nice but only a dozen beds, plenty of tables and chairs though towels in reception. Hotel location is great, spot on for Keys and Everglades even Miami within 3o mins. Plenty of places to eat and drink close to hotel. I will go back to the hotel

Clean and well maintained... Staff is extremely helpful and friendly and make you feel welcome. Sam and trish went above and beyond to accomadate me as I travel for work. Both were very professional and courteous and because of them I now only stay here, which is 3 times a month for the next 18 months. Spent several days after booking from website, hotel well worth considering. Good location for Keys and other destinations. Rooms typical style, well fitted, roomy and clean. Everything as publicised. Staff fantastic, breakfast was adequate. No hesitation to use or recommend

We had to spend a night in Florida City and we had a good stop in this hotel. A swimm in the pool (the SPA is closed, under renovation) and then a good dinner @Texas Roadhouse. All was just perfect, thank you.

The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping staff were very sweet. I love that they have a fridge and a microwave. The front desk staff are really wonderful and helpful. I will definately stay here again

We stayed here for two nights for access to big Cypress and the Everglades national Park. It is a nice central location for those two parks with plenty of amenities nearby. The hotel was clean comfortable breakfast was good nice pool area very nice for sitting out having breakfast. I would recommend staying here if you need a place to stay for the parks.

I had issues the first night of my stay. Power went out a couple of times and the room I was assigned was already occupied by another guest. The night auditor however did her best to accommodate my family and I. Other than that, everything was good.

Very clean place receptionist very polite and accomadaint to our needs we were traveling by motorcycle let us park right under the welcome entrance for security reasons and rain breakfast fantastic. would recommend this place for a quick layover heading to the Keys

When you have been here, you immediately get the name: Florida City and especially this location is the very last one before entering the Everglades Highway. A perfect stay before you start your Everglades experience.

You can't beat a Best Western, they are great, and this one is no exception. The rooms are really large, there are sofas and chairs, and a mini-kitchen at the back with fridge and microwave. The beds are comfy and the bathroom is also large with a good shower and nice towels. The only thing I didn't like about this one was that there seemed to be some black goo all around the plug and the room smelled of bleach as if they'd tried to get rid of it but failed. Sort of put me off getting in the shower. The check-in was swift and efficient and the lady behind the desk very helpful on recommending places to eat. The pool looked good but we didn't use it because it was raining. The other good thing about Best Westerns is the included breakfast. There was plenty to choose from and the food tasted nice enough even with plastic plates and cutlery. All in all, good value for money.

We stayed here during our trip to the Everglades. The place was clean and the front desk employees were very nice and helpful. They gave us suggestions on places to eat and on the best places to visit in the Glades. The pool area looked nice and we spent some time sitting out there but never used the pool. The breakfast was free and halfway decent for a complementary breakfast. If kept us full enough to begin our daily adventures! The hotel appears that it could be in a sketchy area but we had no problems at all. We would go here again.

Large rooms and good facilities. Everything we needed in our room and quiet comfortable sleep. Booked on line and then had issues with BW holding funds back from a double payment. Payed via credit card by Expedia and then found BW took a second payment holding funds well into a week after we left (someone making interest on short term money market).

The hotel was nice. Rooms were clean. Problem with handicap accessible room. The bed was so high that my wheelchair bound Mom could not get up onto it. Had to get a roll away so she could sleep. The staff was trying to be very accomodating but there was little they could do except dismantle the bed and put the mattress on the floor.

This motel is huge. Building surrounds the pool area. That area is beautiful. Our room was spacious. The queen bed was not. Nice couch and table in the room. Big bathroom with a tiny tub. Two sinks in the room. No elevators. We were on the second floor. Breakfast buffet is amazing.

Clean, reasonably priced hotel at top of keys makes day visits a snap. We stay 3 days and go to key west, marathon key and key largo from the hotel. Lots of gas stations, restaurants nearby. Hotel gives you a map of local places to shop and eat too. Free hot breakfast. Always our hotel of chose every year.

We came into a clean hotel late at night hoping we could get a room.The room was clean as well. Everything was great and the breakfast was good too! It was on our way to the Keys and very friendlt staff as well.

Our group had three rooms for a family vacation with no disappointments. Very pleasant and helpful staff and excellent cleaning services.Nice breakfast with a good selections. Everyone commented on how good the coffee was and it was available all day.

Clean rooms and beds, friendly staff, pool and hot tube was clean and nice, free breakfast included was fun for the kids; it's very close to restaurants including iHOP; shopping (walkable Walgreens) in case you forgot something, gas stations near, easy drive to Key Largo (like 29 minutes) and great value. The weekend of my family reunion was a nightmare. The a/c gave out in the middle of the night. I called the front desk no one answer. I callback that morning a young lady sent someone to fix the a/c I have asked if there will be a charge for stay that night? No one should stay in a hot room She said, I will email my manager, because she doesn't work on weekends. The next morning before checking out I asked the employee Isabella what was the result. She said 15% off bill.I told Isabella please check again, because not only my room was hot the tub had chip paint dirty,and the wall was also missing paint. I went downstairs for breakfast ask Isabella again she said we will take $30.00 off your bill. I was in disbelief as if I was getting punish for complaining. When I check out Isabella took my keys, and said you can go. I then asked,do I need to sign a receipt for using a credit card. She said, no. I asked for a copy of the bill. She showed me a outrageous balance that I didn't agree with through book.com. I took the receipt, and wrote, I didn't sign a paper with an amount on it. I cancel my credit card immediately afterwards, and then went back into the hotel for a copy of the bogus reciept. I called corporate, but corporate isn't corporate. It's a call center for mediating between Best Western employees and customers. Therefore, I couldn't complain about the low skills of the management team. Finally I have received an email from the manager (Annabel) giving me $193.20 credit. You would think that she has sympathize with the ridiculous ordeal, but no. I check with the credit card company, and they deleted the $306.20 billing and change it for 2 days billing 265.53 and next day 40.67. The amount I agree upon was $265.53. Let me back up a little when I called the call center I was told the reason the bill was high because I got an upgrade. I didn't move to another room, but remain in the same room,therefore the management team tried to cover their tracks instead of doing the right thing. Annabel could have easily deleted the total to put the agreed amount plus credit me $193.20, but no. The stay was horrible. Make sure you get copies of everything you signed even the registration form.

We stayed here to be able to day trip the keys. The rooms were very well cleaned and beds were comfy. the outside areas were well kept with lots of nice plants. The hotel very kindly gave us two rooms with a connecting door. The TVs worked well (much to my son's delight) and breakfast in the morning was a nice treat (cold breakfast stuff, waffle maker, eggs and one other hot food). It seemed quite expensive for what it is (a motel) but I suppose people don't mind paying for the location (close to the keys). We didn't use the swimming pool but it looked good. Location wise it is on the southern end of town, near some fast food places and family restaurants. On the first night we decided to walk but there isn't a safe crossing point so on the second night we drove across the dual carriage way to Denny's which seems a little crazy but was safer than trying to walk across the busy road with two kids.

The resort is very reasonably priced when we went con sitting we went right the week right before mini-season four lobsters it was a clean and the breakfast was great internet was good great place to stay if need be

Very nice and easy stop for one night. Everything was nice and clean and the bed was very comfy. The lobby was impressive looking with a pretty fish tank behind the desk. Complimentary breakfast was great as well.

The flooring was all tile (to look like wood), so no musty carpet smells. A large group of us came for check-in and the front desk people were very efficient in getting us checked in quickly. Breakfast included make-your-own waffles. My only wish is that paper plates would be used instead of non-recyclable plastic plates.

This is our second time at this hotel and we enjoyed both stays The pool was convenient and the breakfast was very well stocked and maintained Isabella at the front desk was most helpful. The rooms are well kept and clean The area has lots of eateries and easy access to the Keys.We will be going back again

This was my second experience at the updated Best Western and it was as nice as the first. Best Western has become my hotel chain of choice. I like the pool and the breakfast and the rooms were clean and quiet.

We stayed here 1 night (price paid was USD 80). Check in was kind of slow, but we were also unlucky to arrive at the same time of two other couples. Our room was below average. Due to the climate it felt a bit moldy, and we had to keep the noisy aircondition running all night. Breakfast was fine with a good selection. The quality was one level higher than most other hotels, but one level lower than Best Western plus (which is not surprising). We chose this hotel due to the location close to The Keys. However, the only dining option nearby was a chicken restaurant. The other restaurants were located on the other side of a very busy road. The hotel had a nice pool area. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to use the pool. If we had to stay in the area again we would probably choose one of the motels on the other side of S Dixie Hway with more dining options and gas stations.

We did one day into the Everglades and then back to the hotel for one nights sleep. Then we did the southern part of Everglades (Flamingo visitor center) and went back for one more night at the hotel. The next morning we checked out and headed for The Keys. If you want to take it slow and easy I can recommend you to stay for two nights like we did, but you can also do our trip with just one night, if you have less time. Being tourists from Sweden we didn't like the waist of food and the use of plastic at the breakfast buffet. To have only plastic and use it one time and then throw it away together with the food you didn't eat is so bad for the environment. It makes me sad to see this waist.

Before I go on vacations I always read the reviews on the hotels. When I saw this one had excellent reviews I thought it was unrealistic. So, I booked it and when I arrived, I really enjoyed the stay. When I walked in the room I could tell it was clean and fresh. I really enjoyed the variety of breakfast food they had for the people to eat. Very spacious and I will be returning. Also, it is close to eating places and near gas stations that had cheap prices.

This hotel is much cheaper than actually staying in the Keys which is convenient. You pay for what you get. It's a 3-4 star hotel. One weird thing about the room decor for me was the choice in bed pillows. They are small pillows which I find strange compared to other Best Western's I've stayed at...they were quite uncomfortable. Piss ants (sugar ants) were a problem for me. They ate the taffy. The staff only told me it's all over the hotel even though they have it sprayed..maybe get a better exterminator?

So this hotel made me very disappointed. Equipment heavily worn. Absolutely unsuitable bed including pillows. The room was not clean. There was gum on the ground. Breakfast was average. The lady at the reception was willing, but that is not enough. I'm not going to use this room in the future.

This hotel is as the title of the review states - mediocre. It is decently priced and at a great location to stop on the way to the Florida Keys, but unfortunately the cleanliness of both rooms we booked left a lot to be desired. It did include a continental breakfast which was great for a hotel breakfast.

Rooms was very dated, no elevator for upstairs, railing on stairs was loose, beds were horrible, felt like you could feel the springs. Lobby was nice and updated. Everything was pretty clean. Breakfast was average. There was a line for the waffle machine because nothing else looked great. Luckily we were just passing through so it worked for a night.

Nice location and decor - we stayed at the hotel for one night. The rooms are nice and clean. Nice area and no noice. The buffet was super and had a very big variety of food as bacon, eggs, breads, waffles, yoghurts, fruits etc. The service was also very good. We truly recommend this highway hotel - value for the money!

We had a great time at the best western. It is in a perfect location near Key Largo and 2.5 hours from Key West and 25 minutes from the Everglades National Park. Must try places are Pollo Tropical for South American food (fast food but delicious) and Robert is here for amazing produce and milkshakes. The rooms are simple but clean and having a fridge and microwave is perfect. The breakfast was good with a mix of hot and cold foods and waffle makers. The only thing is you risk missing out and food runs low if you wait too close to 10am! The staff were very helpful and we have absolutely no complaints!! Pretty near perfect for an affordable 3 star motel.

We spent 2 night (6/10/19-6/11/19) here for Everglades and Key West trips. The room was spacious and clean. Free breakfast was excellent. I will miss the breakfast for a long time. The location of hotel was really good for everything.

My daughter and I spent a few days here for an Everglades Trip. It was the perfect spot for the Everglades and Keys. Hotel was nice, pool area could've used attention but we enjoyed ourselves still. Breakfast was your typical hot/cold breakfast but still better than going out. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was exceptional. My daughter says "best hotel ever"

We have spent here 2 nights (26-28/04) on our travel to Everglades park and Key West. The hotel was really great for the price we had spent. Nice and clean hotel lobby, the room also looks like renovated, clean and comfortable. Very good pool area with nice plants and flowers. Due to we travel a lot during days, it was very nice to park my car in front of our room door (the room located at the first floor). Breakfast ok too. So, we had only the good experience from staying here! Thanks to all hotel staff.

We have stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years and have always had a good experience. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic and has a nice assortment. There is plenty of on site parking and you are within short walking distance to several places to eat (McDonald's, Pollo Tropical, and others). Best of all is the location - 30 minutes to Key Largo (depending on time of day). We stay here instead of staying in Key Largo, even though our destination IS Key Largo. The rates are less expensive and the quality is equal to most.

Nicely appointed rooms, great pool area, functional business centre, great breakfast and friendly, efficient front desk staff. Isabella was a friendly voice on the phone when we called to make our reservation and she was wonderful in person. Having someone like her at the hotel made our stay awesome.

Really nothing to complain about, the stay was enjoyable. Great location for visiting the Everglades. Plenty of food locations to choose from. I would defintely stay here again. appreciated the walk in room.

Room was clean but could do with updating. Breakfast was good, help yourself and we enjoyed the waffles. Was great to be able to park outside your room. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the pool.

The room has space enough, in the bathroom old shower curtain should be replaced by a window to avoid water everywhere. the pool is pleasant , there is even a Jacuzzi ! included breakfast is fine. the hotel is well located (and named !) for a stop between everglade and keys, even if Florida city "downtown" night life is not really is not really fun :)

I am staying here for two nights. Last night I called reception to ask for a tv channel guide because I did not find one in the room and the one on the screen was difficult to see (I have poor vision). I specifically asked front desk what channel CNN was. The receptionist named Wana, simply cut me off by saying "we don't have a guide, just scroll through the channels". So, not really impressive and clearly not a place where geniuses work. Pro tip for management: print out a channel guide and have at front desk...

I used this Hotel due to its proximity to Miami Airport and the Keys. Late arrival into Miami and the Hotel is on the way to the Keys. Everything was as expected. Staff were friendly and Helpful. Car Parking was close to room. Other facilities were not used , late check in & Early departure.

Had a 3 day trip around Everglades and Biscayne National Parks and Key Largo. Using this hotel as our home for the duration was a very good idea. Room was clean, bed, pillows, and linens were top notch. Breakfast was better than average; the pool are was tastefully landscaped with plenty of seating.

Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Had a convenient first floor pool side room. View was awesome. Staff was very pleasant and check-in/check-out was quick. Room was clean and quite comfortable. Breakfast was hot and had a variety to choose from. Check in and check out was very easy and hassle free. front desk associate was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a question on how long it would take us to get from the hotel to the port in Miami to board our ship on time, and he told us 45 minutes and that is exactly what it took us on Saturday morning. A pleasure to talk with people who can offer correct information.

This hotel is perfectly situated as a gateway to the Keys or for birding in the Everglades. The staff are very welcoming & attentive to guests including bringing popsicles to kids at the pool. The hotel map included a list of local restaurants, shopping, etc & we took advantage of their suggestion for a great local restaurant, Casita Tejas. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights while visiting the Everglades. The hotel is very close to the eastern side of the park (near the Ernest C. Coe visitor center) and also reasonably convenient to the Miami airport. It is a longer but not impossible drive to the western side of the Everglades (Everglades City area). This looks like an older hotel that was redone fairly recently. My room was pretty nice and clean with comfortable beds and a small kitchenette area with fridge, sink, and microwave. It was not as nice or updated as some of the newer Best Westerns, but it was totally fine for what I needed. There was a nice pool area that lots of guests were using, and the breakfast was the standard waffle/cereal/bacon buffet. If you want a second-floor room, there are only stairs, no elevators. This was not a problem for me but could be for folks who have a hard time getting their luggage up the stairs. I think I would have found first-floor or poolside rooms noisy. The traffic and the road layout in the area are not great, but there are some restaurants, grocery stores, etc. in the area.

We arrived to the hotel after cruise with royal Caribbean and the plan was to do some shopping in our way to vacation of few days in key west .there is nice outlet very close to the hotel so we put our luggage in the lobby and continue the shopping. We got the room ~4pm , there is good free breakfast and we also went to the swimming pool and the jacuzzi .

It's right at the fork to Everglades NP and Key West. Such a convenient location and a true gateway. The rooms were nice and clean. The free breakfast was good with variety of food. We also enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool and the jacuzzi.

Always stay here when working in Homestead! Great stay and the rooms are nice! I've never had any issues. The hotel staff are fantastic! Breakfast is good. The prices aren't bad at all if your a Best Western member.

We wanted to experience the everglades and a trip to all of the Keys This Best Western was the perfect hub point to do both. The room was comfortable, the morning breakfast was good., nice pool and area. All staff very accommodating. Would definitely stay another time.

Outside hotel and grounds very nice. Lobby very nice and clean. Rooms so outdated and shabby. Not the cleanest. Our room only had a double bed. They said they were out of kings and two double bed rooms even though we requested it. They store cleaning carts filled with bath notions and cleaning products? in bottles, etc. outside where you walk by to go to your car. That is dangerous for kids and adults who have to walk around them. Our bathroom sink leaked spraying out water from the underside pipe every time we turned on the water. That is why they had a waste can under the pipe to catch the water flow so they knew of the problem. Luckily we had a wet bar sink in the bedroom to use next to the microwave to brush our teeth. We checked in very late so couldn't go looking for another hotel.The pool was nice, we didn't use it. If they make the rooms look as nice as the lobby and outside this would be a very nice place to stay.

Great location,,good room, good breakfast, nice pool, great staff. If you are headed down the keys this is the place to start from. A great base to explore the Everglades from. Lots of restaurant choices in the area for lunch and dinner.

Very nice hotel, good breakfast, pretty quiet for a hotel close to main thoroughfare. Floor could be cleaner, and the tub drains very slowly but not a major issue. Pool was clean and enjoyable. It is close to Highway 1 and was accessible to shopping in the area. The area not the prettiest to look at but it feels safe at night.

We needed a stop off hotel after a long drive and this was perfect. Great friendly reception, clean room amd a little pool to stretch out after a long drive. Breakfast was good, with hot amd cold options avaliable. Convenient place when heading onto Key West which was our final destination. Nothing to do around the hotel but the standard American restaurants were all within the area. Would use again, great value hotel.

Maintenance and cleaning on property being done most of our visit with staff taking pride in the overall appearance of the hotel and grounds. Great pool. Clean spacious rooms at a great price. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Everything you could need close by. Highly recommended

Quite hotel with a nice pool area and a good breakfast. This Best Western is a good startpoint to visit the everglades NP or the keys. The room are in good conditions and the wifi is not to slow, parking is free

Good location when you visit the Everglades. Our double beds room was clean, confortable but not very spacious and the air-conditioning was noisy. The shower is obsolete. Parking close to the room very convenient. Very disappointed by the breakfast, very cheap and "industrial", tasteless. 100% plastic for everything:plates, cups, glasses, marmelade, spoons. How can this worldwide hotels company be so ignorant about sustainability, CSR and quality food? In any hotel, the breakfast tells you how the customers are treated and what level of hospitality they deserve. I'm sure you can do much better for the same price or even with an extra 5 usd!

We decided to stay here for our mini adventures in Key Largo. Stayed 3 nights. Check in was smooth and we even got water bottles and popcorn. Super nice treat after a whole day of traveling. Room had pool access which is was very convenient. Continental breakfast was decentand the ladies at the breakfast room were very friendly. Loved that! Check out was smooth as well.

We were staying at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys for our visit to Everglades National Park. The hotel description says it was refurbished. I would call it updating. It was comfortable. But basic. Very basic. One bed. Two nightstands with lamps. Bureau with TV. Separate mirror area and counter without an outlet. Newer bathroom. Just basic. Very basic. I will not be returning.

In IL and MO, I have stayed at excellent BWs. This one lacked comparatively as to breakfast and rooms. The desk staff were great on checking in and trying to address my room complaint. The maintenance guy felt the water was hot. I chose this hotel because of needing a hot bath due to a disability and knee injury. The desk staff carried hot water from the hot water/tea maker to my tub in an effort to make hotter water for me. Maintenance advised all the rooms had the same temperature water and seemed to think it was my problem as no one else complained. Beds were fine. Pool area was nice. Grounds and facilities were pleasant. But, for my needs, at their price a lukewarm bath and mediocre breakfast left me disappointed, wishing I had booked a different hotel at a cheaper price that had hot water and buy a better breakfast at Denney's.

First time staying at a BW. Room okay. Had sugar ants in our room. Bed and pillows okay. Breakfast was good. Had all the normal food to get for a continental breakfast. When I called in and booked the associate was very nice.

Have stayed at this Best Western several times. The location is convenient to the Keys and Everglades National Park. I requested early check in but unfortunately it wasn't available upon my arrival. We decided to go to the Everglades and stopped at Roberts Is Here (a must stop when you are in the area). When we got back our room was ready. The rooms aren't fancy but are clean and sufficient and the showers are not the wimpy ones you usually find at hotels. They actually have pressure! The pool area is very nicely maintained, not huge but definitely adequate. The breakfast buffet was busy but great and the staff was very efficient, constantly replacing food that was running low. All and all I would recommend this hotel.

The property was nice. Checking when ok. Room was a little up to date. Bath room had mold on tiles and sealing.towel had spider.room was not to clean. I did not say anything cause I had along road trip.

We stayed here for 5 days. The resort is in a great location, close to the Keys, Everglades and Biscayne Bay and restaurants. The room furnishings are appropriate with a bar fridge and microwave on a small counter with a sink. The bathroom was a simple three piece. The floors had not been swept or washed with long black hair everywhere, so I had to go to Walmart and buy cleanser to clean the floors, doors and counters. The beds are very firm leaving me with a sore back. They need to hire someone to exterminate (it is allowed as they are introduced species) the large flock of house sparrows that call the pool area home. They crapped on everything, the chairs, tables, railings and even in the pool. This is a health hazzard. Also the room has a noisy airconditioner in it, but this is often par for the course in the US. Also the outer halls were not clean either but I only saw 4 staff to clean such a large hotel.

Very Nice, rooms are very clean, has a refrigerator and coffee maker. All the staff is very friendly, from the front desk staff to the breakfast staff and cleaning staff. Close to shopping and restaurants. Free hot breakfast was really good. Would stay again.

Best Western Gateway to the Keys, Florida City, FLORIDA The hotel is close to outlets mall, restaurants and easily accessible to key west . Check in and check out staff was very friendly and efficiently. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome. I will definitely stay again and recommend it to my friends.

This hotel is at Gateway to the Glades as well as the Keys. Laundry facilities on site. Grounds well kept and pools inviting. All staff had pleasant smile and greeting. Reception had handout of eateries in surrounding area.

We chose this hotel b/c it was close to the Everglades National Park where we planned to do a tour. Our room was very nice and clean, the staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast area. They recommended a Mexican restaurant (Casita Tejas) to us which we went to and enjoyed their food. The hotel is close to the Florida Keys Outlet stores, Walmart and other shopping. Free breakfast, internet, parking. Would not hesitate staying here again.

Stayed here for one night in February for a visit to Everglades National Park. The room was as expected...comfortable and well equipped. Check in staff was polite and helpful. We were able to park at the hotel and walk to a local restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was good with both hot and cold choices. The hotel is about 45 minutes from the Shark Valley entrance to the Everglades, and about 15 minutes from the Ernest Coe Visitor Center. My only “issue” is that there is no hotel sign when approaching from Krome Avenue. If there was one, I certainly couldn't see it in the dark. All in all, I am a fan of the Best Western hotels and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights. One queen bed room on ground floor facing front of hotel. Room had been renovated, small sitting area, queen bed, micro, coffee, wifi, free parking...comfortable...morning breakfast standard hotel fare, pool, very tiny hot tub...recommend to all if in the area.

The rooms were a little outdated and my linens had stains which made me question the cleanliness of the hotel. I also didn't feel safe. The pool area is pretty. There's plenty of free parking. But the service was nice and friendly.

My daughter and I stayed here on our way to the Keys. The hotel was clean, quiet,nicely decorated room. Breakfast was good, and well attended. The staff was friendly and free parking. I would go here again on my next trip to Key West.

Stayed here last night before heading to the Everglades and Keys. Needed something reasonably priced and close proximity to where we wanted to go. Everything was perfect. The cleanliness of this hotel was beyond anything I've ever seen in a 5 star. We received a welcome bag upon arrival with 2 waters and kettle corn. Staff was incredibly accommodating, helpful and friendly. Outdoor Pool is open until 10pm which was great. Very impressed!!

I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and grounds. The friendly and personable staff were all one could ask for. The pool was crystal clear and a joy to swim in after a long day! All in all, a very enjoyable stay. I will be back!

Best Western was a very clean and great location to end our trip , everyone was very helpful, pool area was clean and a nice place to have a cocktail. Very easy to get to restaurants and shopping. Only an hour to Fort Lauderdale airport .

We stayed here for 2 nights before driving down to Key West. Hotel was easy to find and close to highway heading to Key West. The hotel was bright and the room was clean, comfortable and provided everything we required. Every staff member we met were very welcoming and courteous. We didn't use the pool but there were plenty of chairs and was a popular spot.

We've stayed at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys four years running, and that should tell you a lot. The rooms are large and well furnished. The entire facility is sparkling clean and well maintained. The open-air patio and pool are so nice. It is a resort-like setting at overnight prices. The breakfast is very good and the staff is always friendly and trying to please. My wife and I both think that the Best Western Gateway to the Keys is likely the best value in all of south Florida.

Wife and I were here for a night after flying into Miami for our Key West road trip. The hotel's location was perfect as the first stop to the Keys. We flew into Miami around 16:00. By the time we got our rental car and take the none-toll roads down. it's too late to do anything. We didn't want to drive US1 in the dark not able to enjoy the view. So we decided to stay over night at this hotel. Our check in process was simple, and the lady that helped us was friendly and knowledgeable. We were given a quiet room like we asked, and had a great night sleep. There were lots of mosquito prevention all around the hotel, we did not get a single bite even without repellent. The room was basic like a Best Western, which was more than fine. WiFi worked seamlessly with a VPN. Everything was clean and tidy. There was a Cracker Barrel near by, which had decent fried chicken. The included breakfast wasn't much to rave about. But the price point of the hotel, there wasn't much to complain about either. Just don't expect much from a basic Continental Breakfast. Overall we will be back. Perhaps next time we can head west to the Everglades.

Compared to the prices for Miami and Miami Beach this hotel was a great bargain. It had a spacious, fresh feel as soon as you walked in, and an attractive pool area. Downsides were the worst pillows I have ever experienced in a hotel bedroom, and the noisiest air-conditioning - we had to switch it off to get any sleep! Breakfast was OK. Reception staff were extremely helpful. Fine for an overnight stop, but would not have wanted to stay longer.

This place had absolutely NOTHING wrong. It is the perfect example of what a Best Western should be. The staff was friendly, the pool is beautiful, the breakfast was good, the climate control was good.

Florida City is an unattractive town, but its location is great for visiting the Southern Everglades or the Florida Keys. We stayed twice in this hotel and we enjoyed each of our stays. We had a room on the top floor, facing the pool. The front staff is helpful and reacted promptly when we had an issue with the coffee maker. A small gift is offered upon check-in to Best Western loyalty program members. Comfort is excellent. The bathroom is a little dated, but it was very clean. Fast and reliable Wi-Fi. Great pool area with hot tub. The free breakfast is ok. However, the area is small, and it can be quickly crowded. The air conditioning is noisy though, which is problem at night. A luggage rack is also missing in the room. There is no elevator so make sure to ask to ask for a room on the ground (first) floor if you do not wait to carry your luggage upstairs.

The room was spacius, nice and clean. The staff is very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is ok, but not great. We vil rekommend this place. God getaway to the keys and the Everglades. Go to the Shiver BBQ in homestead - it is very god !!!

We have now stayed here three different times and the next time we come to this area we will stay here again. The rooms are nice and clean. The pool area is beautiful although the pool is not heated and the pool was cool/cold (I swim in Lake Michigan so I was alright with it but did not see anyone else swim while we were there). The hot tub could have been a little hotter but most hot tubs now days are not very hot. The breakfast and staff are very good and the location is the best whether you are going to the Everglades National Park, the keys or towards Miami.

We stayed at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys the first of February 2019. We had a very comfortable, clean room. The breakfast was great every morning and the staff was very helpful and kind. We would definitely stay there again as it was a great value for the price!

Just left room 221 where we spent 1 night!!! Found a bed bug on the pillow. Manager came quickly to inspect the room and apologized but they refused to give us a refund. BAD EXPERIENCE, totally frustrating customer service. Don't go there!

The title says it all. The property is still in a great location for exploring the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park—among other places of interest. I found that the bathroom could use some improvement—especially newer fixtures that work properly.

Booked this hotel as a stopover after traveling the Florida Keys. This hotel was so nice and clean and quiet that we decided to stay two more nights! Felt very comfortable staying in this hotel. Front desk was very accommodating to us. Breakfast was hot and nice selection of items for everyone. Check out the logo waffles! Maintenance and housekeeping were all busy during our stay. They keep on top of their property. Pool area neat but pool was a bit chilly. Pool towels could be a bit larger too. Overall very pleased!

I most often stay at Marriott Hotels. But was pleasantly surprised when I stayed at this Best Western in Florida. The front desk people were really friendly and i even received a welcome bag with water and popcorn. The room was very nice and clean. Appreciated the extra blanket in the closet. Breakfast included was very good. Overall really enjoyed our stay! Wish it was a little hotter would have tried the pool. The pool area was very inviting.

We have stayed here for multiple nights over the past few years after the cost of lodging in the Keys tripled in price. We always enjoy it. The service, amenities, and cleanliness are consistently top notch at this location. It is a short drive to Everglades N.P. and access to the Keys is easy. There are many restaurant options nearby, including Pollo Tropical right out front. The Homestead area is not particularly glamorous, but this is a secure location with all the conveniences nearby to stock up before heading out to the Keys. There is a free hot breakfast, a pool, and hot tub. We enjoyed spending a couple of days just staying on the property to enjoy the sunshine. My only complaint is I wish they would heat the pool better than they do -- it was pretty chilly.

This is a nice way to explore the Everglades before driving farther south. It's clean and has helpful staff. We didn't use the pool but saw kids having a great time there. The room was accessible for wheelchairs even though we hadn't requested that. Breakfast was fine.

We stayed here one night before heading to Key West. Sebastian was the helpful and kind man at the desk. Room was clean, beds were good, everything was good! Only issue was the smell of chlorine coming from the pool. We will be back!

Stayed at the Quality Inn across the street & believe you me it's worth the extra to stay at this Best Western (more like a 5 star, versus 2 star! . . . ) No complaints. GR8 Staff & Breakfast along with clean comfortable Rooms.

We stayed at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys on January 18, 2019. We have stayed there a number of times and have always been very happy with the cleanliness of the room and the amenities offered, as well as the very friendly and helpful staff we came in contact with. Later in the day on January 19, long after checking out of the hotel we realized that our credit card was missing. As soon as we were able we called the hotel and after asking a few security questions were told that they had the card and would be able to mail it to us. The housekeeper had found the credit card in the room when doing the changeover. Within the turnaround of the US Mail we received our credit card and are very grateful that our entire vacation was not marred by losing it completely. We have always had good reason to be very happy with our stay at the Best Western; the clean rooms, delicious breakfast, great location to nearby attractions, etc., and now we have even more reason to be appreciative of their fine employees as well as all the other benefits of staying at this hotel.

Clean, quiet, best breakfast of hotel chains I've seen in a long time, comfortable, convenient location off I-75. I'd recommend stopping for the night. Ample parking. Very attractive exterior. Nice lobby and eating area was large with 4-stations.

We were very pleased with this hotel and our room. It was as described, clean, and comfortable. Employees were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good--we like the option of hot foods, such as eggs and waffles, which is an expectation we have of all Best Westerns. We specifically chose this location because of the ease of access from the Florida Turnpike and proximity to Everglades National Park. We would stay here again when visiting the area.

Served as great homebase for excursions to upper keys and everglades. Clean, friendly, well-run hotel. Decent free breakfast. Easy to get to right off US 1. Minutes away from two national parks (Biscayne and Everglades) both were open despite government shutdowns.

This is a “retro” style hotel with all rooms opening to the outside. 2 stories tall so the second floor has long balconies with several stairwells. But there are no elevators so if you have a 2nd floor room you haul your stuff up the stairs and down the long balconies. Next time we will request 1st floor. they do have luggage carts if you request them but of little use if you have 2nd floor room. Rooms are really nice, large, and clean. Nice pool and hot tub area outside which is in an enclosed courtyard. Very convenient to the Keys. A good place to stay before starting down to the Keys.

The Best Western Gateway hotel was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay on our way to the lower Florida Keys! The front-desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. An added bonus was the nice little restaurant next door, so no need to drive for a quick meal. We will certainly stay again next year on our way south!

Pros: Clean room, nice variety on breakfast. Great affordable place to stay if you're traveling to the Keys. Feedback: Need to install a plastic diverter shield over the A/C so it doesn't blow straight up and catch the curtains.

Screws in floor at bathroom and refrigerator alcove project up and snag and cut my feet and socks. Looks like a bad remodeling project, which was not correctly completed. Hot water tap in the alcove sink never produced any hot water, tepid water may be an exaggeration of the water temperature.

What I really love about this hotel is the landscaping. The gardens are full of a variety of plantings, with trees, shrubs, and flowers. All well maintained and looked after. It's very pleasant to sit outside in the pool area and enjoy the flora, fauna, and birds. Oh, and the hotel is excellent!

Pricing in the Keys is 2-3 times more expensive than this location. With traffic we made it to Key West in about 3 hours. Everglades entrance and numerous Airboat locations are about 1/2 hour away. Hotel was clean with every employee I dealt with providing excellent service. Breakfast was moderate fare but well attended. I don't like feeling confined inside a hotel so I like the openness of the room layouts with a centralized pool. Free Parking. Plenty of places within 10 minutes to eat, get fuel, or shop. I could go on and on. Crystal went above and beyond giving me some great local places for eating and visiting.

We used this hotel as a base for both these areas 2 hrs 15 to key west or 35 mins to the Everglades park entrance. Clean rooms friendly welcome and plenty of dining options within 10 mins of the car park perfect stopover point.

We checked in for two nights, we both got sick and ended up staying 7 nights. Front desk was very helpful. Kinda blew our trip to the keys, but some things can't be helped. Overall nice hotel. Breakfast could be better. Lots of restaurants close by.

Clean rooms very clean and housekeeping did a great job, great price, delicious breakfast, friendly staff.. need I say more? Definitely a diamond in the rough! Everything is close by and easy to get to the keys/Miami and not pay an arm and a leg.

This hotel is about what you'd expect for a three star Best Western. Room was plain but clean. The bed was hard as steel. The area didn't feel all that nice. It got the job done though due to its location.

This is a fabulous hotel. The exterior is impressive, reminding viewers of spectacular tropical vacation destinations that cost a fortune, but in fact this hotel is quite modestly priced for all of its features. The pool, hot tub, breakfast, and staff made all the difference. And the room is just as beautiful as the grounds. Totally amazing! We could not be happier with our stay.

The staff is nice but currently trying to sleep and me and my child hear a buzzing noise or humming that is coming from the hotel somewhere vibrating the walls. For $150 a night, this is NOT okay. I needed sleep tonight and that's gonna be really rough with this constant sound. I wonder if my room is next to or above a laundry area or something. There was also ash in the bathtub upon arrival, and tiny black specks on one of the comforters that have left me with bite marks I will gladly take pictures of.

Easy to get to and near many restaurants and other facilities, this was a good choice. My wife and I stayed here two nights and used it as a jumping off point to drive down to Key West and back in a day. It was considerably cheaper than staying in a chain motel in the Keys and allowed us to be back on the mainland to begin our trip north in the morning. The room was not large and was servicible. There is no carpet on the floor but a woodgrain pattern linoleum that is common in Best Western hotels. Easy yo clean but easy to feel every grain of sand if it's not cleaned thoroughly. This floor could have been cleaned better. We were also awakened about 2in the morning by a group of young drunk men standing outside the door, but they moved on after I spoke to them. The desk staff is very pleasant and helpful. Overall the motel is nice, but it seems just a notch below other BW properties I have stayed at.

Crystal was very helpful in helping us locate the complex. She was on the phone directing us and even went out in the complex to wait until she could see our car and directed us to the motel. Without her assistance do not know if we would have ever found it. Very professional.

All the options that were available at their breakfast were really good. Unfortunately there was one thing I didn't liked about their breakfast. Everything they used were in plastic. Their plates were made of plastic, their cutlery was made of plastic, the cutlery were even covered by plastic and their glasses were made of plastic. This is not sustainable for our environment. Instead of using all this plastic I think you should use regular plates, regular cutlery and regular glasses. That would be so much better for the environment.

The desk staff was very helpful. The guestroom was adequate but there were no toiletries. As soon as we mentioned it we received them. The highlight of our visit was an excellent restaurant, The Capri at 935 Krome Ave. Our server, Eric, was extremely helpful and made good recommendations. The bread was excellent. The chicken parmesan was very well prepared with an excellent sauce. My order was a special gluten free ravioli dish and it was also excellent. The manager came to our table and we expressed our compliments on a lovely meal and a special evening at the Capri.

We enjoy the hotel but hot tub is small and was occupied the entire time and pool was so cold would be nice if it could be heated. The breakfast was good but so busy and nowhere to sit because it was over crowded

Our stay was one night on our way to the Keys. We wanted to get well south of Miami's morning traffic, after arriving in Ft. Lauderdale in the early evening. The hotel worked out perfectly, it was clean, quiet and comfortable. We really enjoyed an inexpensive meal next door at Pollo Tropical and the continental breakfast provided was good. Would definitely stay there again. Also a close proximity alternative to staying in much pricier accommodation in Key Largo.

This hotel is well situated and the rooms are surprisingly spacious and pretty modern. The problem was that the floors were so dirty that we would actually dirty our sheets in the bed. At first we thought that it was because the asphalt in the parking lot was just repainted. But we stayed there two nights and both nights our feet were so dirty that we would leave dirt mud in the shower.

Lobby was fine & check-in easy however on arrival to the rm, the toilet was non-functional and when we reported it we were told no other staff was there and front desk lady could not leave so we had to plunge our own toilet. Asked to just switch rms, she would not allow it even though she admitted there were other open rms...completely unacceptable. Dark tile floors which is better than old carpet but don't take your shoes off or you will find your feet have turned black very quickly from unkempt floor mopping. Also found hair on sheets of both beds. Breakfast was nice. Chose it because of high reviews and we needed a place for the night. Overall it was a place to stay the night on our trip to the keys but would never stay there again given above experience.

Rena gave us excellent service. We arrived very late and was tried. She went beyond the norm. She made our check in quick and even pointed out restaurants and pharmacies that were still opened at our late arrival. Room was clean!

We always try to stay at the BW when going to Everglades National Park because it is located perfectly for us. It is close to restaurants and gas stations, yet is fairly quiet at night. The hotel has always been clean, and breakfast choices are quite good. The front desk staff were very helpful regarding local restaurants and locations.

My husband and I have been staying in FL City for about 15 over the NASCAR race weekend in November. This is the first year that we booked early enough to get into the Best Western Gateway to the Keys and we are quite happy we did. It is by far the nicest place we have stayed in this area. The beds, staff, breakfast, and back yard pool and spa area were just great! The AC was pretty quiet. This hotel tho, is a bit tired and in need of better maintenance. Upon arrival we kicked off our shoes and in short order, realized our socks and feet were very dirty. Apparently the cleaning folks do not mop the floors. We complained and were attended to right away. The vanity light fixture had an intermittent problem where sometimes in came on, sometimes not. The pillows were not very comfortable and they had old style light bulbs in the lamps that took time to "warm up" when lit. Upon arrival the towels were very nice. Replacements were older and frayed. Overall, these are little complaints and we had a good stay. We stayed in room 101 and it is lower floor on an end (not facing the pool). it was quiet and parking right at the room door has great benefits. Enjoy!

Stayed at this Best Western for the Nascar Championship Race and it was very nice, clean, maid service daily, and free breakfast very good. Will definitely stay there again next year. Great location with lots of restaurant choices.

We stayed here for two nights. Sevice was friendly and quick, The room was clean and spacious. Equipped with: Aircon (little bit noisy), tv, micro, coffee maker, hair dryer, free wi-fi and parking. Cleaning was daily. Complimentary breakfast was ok. We didn't try pool. Hotel is about one hour drive from Miami airport. A good hotel at it's own category.

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff was extremely helpful, professional and friendly and eager to be of assistance. Nothing was too much for them. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, constantly refilled and kept clean. The location was convenient to restaurants, Homestead Miami Speedway, etc. We look forward to coming back again and will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. This is a great hotel. Have been staying here for years annually to purchase orchids and bromeliads from all the great orchid farms. There is also a banana farm. Plus a great local stand called [Robert is Here] which is unique. The staff here is super and checkin a real pleasure. Isabella is always smiling and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast is always Good and plentiful. Rooms and grounds well maintained. Always making improvements. Great place to overnight on way to keys. Try it - you'll like it.

The room was clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location was great. It was an easy drive to Biscayne Bay National Park, the speedway and Everglades National Park. Restaurants and shopping were nearby. The only issue I had was that our room was on the second floor, but there was no elevator.

I haven't stayed in a Best Western in a long time. I'm usually a Hampton Inn regular but this was close to where I needed to be in the morning. You access the rooms from the outside rather than through the main lobby. There was plenty of parking near my room. The rooms all surround a pool. The room itself was a decent size with a smallish TV (no sleep timer), a sofa and a little table. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have expected. I found several hairs in the shower, in the sink, and near the toilet. Breakfast was okay but nothing great.

Web site states POPCORN in every room...No pop corn and no one seemed to know what I was talking about...Dog poo next to hot tub..dead birds stuck on picks above hot tub...band aid in hot tub...syringe in parking lot....wake up call was 12 hrs early, wrong time...

My son and I stayed here for a few nights while visiting the Everglades and doing some fishing. The hotel met or exceeded all my expectations. The rooms were large and clean. The bathrooms were large and clean. Housekeeping cleaned up daily. Rooms had large TV's. The in room refrigerators were a plus. The breakfasts were the usual hotel breakfasts, but ample. We had a rental car so we were able to drive to dinner. We ate at Cracker Barrel and Texas Roadhouse which were less than a mile away. We also tried Shivers BBQ and Mama Mias which were a little further but worth the drive. The hotel fills up every night but empties out each morning. The pool is small but nice and there are plenty of lounge chairs. Check in and out was quick and easy. We were able to use the hotel computer and printer to print out our boarding passes. We plan to make this an annual trip and will definitely stay here next year.

This place was a good place to stay. My room was on the second floor and it was very comfortable.it was very clean. My room was attended to every day. Iris and Breela made sure of that. The pool and hot tub were very clean.

We had just one night here as Florida City is convenient for Everglades NP and “The Keys”. There's not much in Florida City but this hotel was really nice and good value. It's only rated 2.5 star but everything is well presented. We booked a standard king bed room and had room 144, a ground floor room, pool side. The room was spacious with a separate wet bar area that had a sink, fridge and microwave. Smallish bathroom with shower over tub but everything clean. Comfy, firm bed but pillows not to my liking. Those small, lumpy pillows. The pool area was really lovely. Good size pool, lots of sun lounges and tables. Breakfast was included and was a good offering with eggs and sausages as well as all the usual cold buffet items. Walking distance to some food outlets including McDonalds, Denny's and a chicken fast food out let. Guest laundry came in very handy. We were very happy with out choice.

Very good place, very clean, confortable at a good price. Very good service at front desk and a hot breakfast. This hotel is well located in Florida City. I'm very satisfied and I recommand this place.

Over all was OK, not quite happy with the shower for the handicap, we have a hard time to operatethe shower for my wife, I was a strong man and have ahard time with it!Can not change the room because all ADA are booked!

We host an event during Fantasy Fest so travelling with 7 performers I required 2 rooms. The lobby was very nice, much more so on what I thought it should look like based on the exterior. It is an older looking hotel from the outside but the renovations they did on the lobby and rooms made this a very comfortable stay. The value was EXCELLENT considering location and time of year. Next year when we host our event we will definitely stay here again

The BW Gateway to the Keys, is a great location for doing a day trip out to Key West etc. It is a nice clean hotel but is let down by a less than average breakfast bar. Lucky for us Starbucks is just up the road. I cannot fault the service here and Mercedes and Iris our room attendants were just wonderful. The beds are little on a hard side for my liking and once again you have the Best Western Half pillows. Not sure why they cannot give you a full decent size pillow but on a double bed we got 4 half pillows. Anyway prettyr nice stay for good central cheap location close to the keys.

Ein zentral gelegenes BW im gewohnt guten Standard. Eine Stunde nach Miami, 30 Minuten bis zum Everglades Nationalpark, 45 Minuten nach Key Largo. Nice Hotel. Central. Close to Miami, Everglades NP and Key Largo. Also a quiet place in a growing town of Florida City. Friendly staff, clean. We will Be back.

clean hotel. Bedding was conftable, plenty of towels, pool was warm, but dirty with leaves. Pool to wels like sand paper...tile flooring in the rooms, kind of strange not rugged. Breakfast typical of best westen. Lots of dining options in the area.capri was very good. Check out a breeze. Great value

I was in this hotel for 2 nights and I regreted of not staying in the Holiday inn Express as usual. The room is Ok and so is the bathroom and staff but the breakfast it is not very good. Because of the price, the hotel gets many people and at breakfast time it is crowded and not many spaces to be. I think it is worth paying a little more and stay in another hotel.

Really impressed with the quality of this Best Western. Normally the chain are functional and simply suffice, but this specific hotel is a revelation. The check-in is bright and airy, the rooms have all been smartly renovated, the pool area is large, clean and inviting and the free breakfast is expansive and satisfying. In addition the staff are pleasant, efficient and helpful. Add to that the location just at the top of The Keys plus the bargain price and it all adds up to a great experience, well worth 5 stars. Okay, the town itself isn't that great but we can hardly blame that on Best Western, can we?

Nice front desk personnel, very comfortable bed, typical breakfast fare...waffles, scrambled eggs, link sausage, fruit, cereal, juices, coffee. Reasonably priced. No complaints. I would stay here again.

I slept here one night between Fort Lauderdale and Key West and it really helped in splitting up the drive. Everything was clean and worked well, and the free breakfast had many options. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a stopping place before the Keys.
