Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites

The staff was nice but it took almost 30 minutes to check us in. We were excited about the indoor pool and hot tub but the fumes from the chlorine in the hot tub burned everyone's eyes and my 10 year old son had an asthma attack from the noxious fumes. He started coughing so much I had to take him outside in the cold air so he could breathe. Please fix that. There were other children and adults also coughing and eyes burning too!

We spent two nights here on as part of a month long road trip through the southwest US and travelled out to the Grand Canyon for a day. Check in was easy, although they seemed a bit confused about the fact one night was free through their current promotion. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable, WiFi worked well and everything worked a it should. Breakfast was nicely done in an adjacent building with the standard hot and cold assortment, good coffee and well looked after by the attendants. Generally, a very good stay! There is some noise from the nearby railroad, but it was not really an issue.

We stayed a night after they received snow. The parking lot and walkways were a sheet of ice. Not nearly enough was done to address the issue. Here is a nearby train that runs continuously and blows its horn near the hotel. If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. The breakfast was below average for BW, gravy was runny and no fresh fruit. Pastry selection consisted only of some mini muffins.

This is probably one of the best, Best Westerns I stayed at. Rooms were very clean, friendly staff. Breakfast and guy taking care of it was awesome. Added bonus manager even let us keep car here so my sister could ride with me up to Antelope Canyon for few days. There was no Park n Ride in the area when we asked. She offered and saved us more money so we didn't have to go to the airport parking and pay there. Loved this hotel and was only our first time staying here.

Location is super perfect; super accessible to all the best restaurants and bars and shops in Flagg, and the staff was so awesome. We were upgraded for free to a deluxe room since we were on our honeymoon. So kind of them!!

Room was nice, very small with just one bed, but clean and served our purpose. Breakfast was lovely with a lot of choices available. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy to make reservations online. Online through the BW site was less expensive than in person at the desk. Didn't make sense to me, but sat in lobby, made reservation and walked right up to check in.

This Best Western Property met my expectations perfectly. The front desk hostess was very nice. My room was warm and inviting. The location was perfect for my overnight stay on the way from Texas to California. The compimentary breakfast was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay.

Perfectily situated, close to downtown restaurants and shopping, this was the perfect hotel for a short stay in Flagstaff. Good hot breakfast, a friendly staff, and comforatble beds and pillows helped make our night great.

So the way the room was there was absolutely brutal because of location of it. The heat beat that room where the air conditioning did nothing. However I had a fan [because moving]and put it infront of the air to help. The room was wonderfully clean. Clearly the hotel has been used so don't scuff at some tears or something because it's older hotel. But clean level was on point.

This is such a cute place to stay . Loved the pool room and the hot tub was perfect . Breakfast was amazing . This was a perfect stay for a last minute trip . Mike in the breakfast room was so pleasant to talk to . He made us feel welcomed . Great conversation

Was a very nice experience enjoyed swimming in the pool and liked how everything was close by thank you would stay here again if I was to visit Flagstaff or any surrounding places Like the Grand Canyon

The room was old, and smelly. There was an attempt to clean it but you wouldn't be able to remove the mustiness of age. I did not want to sit on any furniture or walk on the carpet without shoes. Overall we overpaid for a substandard room. It was $275 a night and by all rights should have been under $100. Worse than Motel 6…

I was on an extended motorcycle ride and this was my last night before returning home. I jad just rode thru mixed rain and sleet and walked in looking like a drowned rat! Front desk clerk was quick to get me checked in, also told me where I could park my motorcycle under cover and also made me a fresh pot if coffee to help me shake off the cold! Room was great! I will definitely stay Herr every time I am in the Flagstaff area!

The staff is friendly helpful and caring. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Great hot breakfast choices including mini omelettes. Nice big lawn area for dogs and the staff is very dog friendly the hotel close to restaurants and freeways.

tub faucet ran continuously my entire stay, advised front desk clerks several times, problem was never fixed; hotel needs updating, very old carpeting and furniture, however, pets are welcome and that is wonderful

Staff was nice the breakfast was really good plenty of options. The room we had a family suite had 2 queens and a king bed room the queens were very comfortable but the king bed for was hard as a rock! There was also a terrible odor in the room. We asked the front desk about it they gave no explanation. We were offered other rooms but would've been split up so opted to stay put. I asked for something to spray it really didn't help.

This hotel is located in a great spot on the east side of Flagstaff with many stores and restaurants nearby. The downtown area is about five minutes driving time from the hotel, but you have a few places that are walking distance. If you do not like the sound of trains, I would advise to ask for a room to the rear of the hotel. The indoor pool stays at 85 degrees all year long, and there is a hot tub.

The staff was really nice, however the hotel,really needs a remodel. The hotel is on the older side The room was extremely small, with just enough room for the bed, TV stand and the bathroom. Just not a lot of room The parking is extremely tight so if you come in late you could be parking on the street The price was reasonable and staff was great, just needs an update

Hotel was clean smelt clean no musty smells. Ac worked well. Staff nice. Large parking area. Great full breakfast plenty of food to choose from large seating area .Pool heated with separate jacuzzi completely covered we swam while raining, it was fun for the kids. Eatting area outside, pet area. In the middle of town, only negative complaints was they charge extra 20 or 40 bucks to check in an hour or 2 before set check in. Most best western do not do that.

They need to be upfront and more accommodating to hotel guests Rooms should smell clean and not musty. Guests should not be turned away from using rest rooms after checking out. The rooms were clean. Not sure why there was an odor

It was a very nice trip. I had a very nice day at your hotel. We were just taking our children. Grand children back to their parents met halfway in Texas. Also stayed in another best Western in Texas and on the way home in Arizona and Barstow.

The politest staff. Cafeteria type breakfast. Reservations and check out were confusing. I DID Call front desk for the best rate and ask questions regarding the facilities offered, I was TRANSFERED TO A THIRD PARTY =RESERVATIONCOUNTER.COM, on the phone. I was not aware when busy, the front desk would transfer me to another company to make a nonrefundable reservation. Upon check in I brought up my concerns with my reservation... Upon check out at front desk, I could not get an itemized receipt for either incidentals for room service, or my 3 night stay. I called reservation # listed in the text message I received, Called 1-800 Best western #, to no avail. I also had to pay a $15.99 fee to book reservation. I also was surprised when i finally got my receipt, what I was charged in Fees! I would think twice before booking with Best Western anywhere again. I was given plenty of excuses on how this happened. Pretty pricey to just get out of the Phoenix heat for a couple days with my granddaughter. I guess it ok place if you are just passing through.

Easy check in, very welcoming. Room was clean, and spacious. Location was good, it was really quiet, breakfast was phenomenal, and pool was indoor. Won't hesitate to stay here when I come back and visit Flagstaff.

This was a standard motel room with a deluxe price. The bathroom was small with limited counter space. There was a small questionably working fridge with no microwave. Otherwise everything else worked okay; the wifi was good and the breakfast was fine. Hubby made the reservations so I was really surprised when I saw the over $250 price tag.

Needing a place to relax and prepare for a long trip, we stopped at thePony Soldier Inn. It was a wonderful experience. Staff was well prepared and friendly. For breakfast there was a great selection of items. Including fresh fruits, pancakes, eggs and meats. Everything was delicious

Comfortable room with 2 beds and couch. Clean, friendly employees, close to many points of interests, many restaurants in surrounding area. Located on old rt 66. Back route to Grand Canyon,close to Windslow, crater park

Hotel accommodations met my expectations of a Best Western. The separate building for the breakfast room was spacious and had a variety of breakfast options. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

The staff here are super nice! Their complimentary breakfast was excellent! Their heated people during the winter was a plus for the kids and adults alike. We will definitely be staying here again when we are in town

Doors not closing right making it very loud to close, bathroom seat wiggly, bed very uncomfortable, high in the center and lower on the sides, kept rolling to the side all night long. Upstairs neighbors up and heavy footed walking and banging loudly passed 12 am. I had to wake up at 3 am. I had a toddler and 7 month old with me. This stay was the worst I've experienced with best western. I think the worst part of the whole stay was the playpen given to me for my baby to sleep. It was saturated with stains. Food stains? Urine? Vomit? I really don't know. I did not allow my baby to sleep in such nasty playpen. Extremely disgusted. Extremely disappointed. In the other hand, the lady that checked me in was very nice, floor plan is nice.

The hotel itself is fairly nice, the nicest Best Western I've stayed at to date. I have yet to eat breakfast, so I can't comment there…but I'm up in the middle of the night writing my review as I can't sleep, and haven't been able to much, due to the EXTREMELY active railway that we didn't know was JUST across the road when we booked it. I would consider myself able to sleep through most things, but this dang train track has been non-stop and LOUD! If you maybe already live close to some tracks and don't mind the noise the hotel is a good value.

Great place to stay; hotel was a little dated where we stayed, but very clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were soft and comfortable so had a great nights rest. Breakfast was the best ever, eggs, sausage, fresh yogurt, pancakes, waffles and the usual rest. Michael did an awesome job keeping everything organized, clean and well stocked. Would stay here again if in area.

I had a great stay at this Best Western in Flagstaff. All the staff were courteous and helpful. The included breakfast varied each day, offering something for pretty much everyone. A short drive down Route 66 from downtown. Would recommend.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during a week-long trip out west. We found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, and in good repair. The location is great, too, as Flagstaff is a nice college town - home to Northern Arizona University, and only about an hour from the Grand Canyon. We would definitely stay here again.

The girls working the desk were friendly and charming. The bed is perfect and the shower is awesome, the soaps smell good. The breakfast is very good and my kid ate sooooo much. I recommend staying here.

The hotel room was not clean. We had a person above us that was up all night with heavy footsteps and slamming doors. The hotel is dated and needs a remodel. Hotel staff did not ask how our stay was when we checked out. If you like camping this is your hotel. We stayed two nights to see the Grand Canyon and were happy to leave the hotel. We were not rested.

The hotel is on Route 66 and a throwback to old style travel. The room was clean with two bathrooms and a separate living area which was nice for watching TV with family. All the staff were friendly and the gentleman taking care of the breakfast area was keeping everything stocked and fresh. We would definitely stay here again for the Route 66 experience.

This place has gone to the dogs, the staff is more worried about offending a dog owner that there dog is bothering other guests. in the eating area running down the hallways. If your a dog person good for you, stay here. if you prefer humans over dogs or have allergies keep looking.

Bed was comfortable. Hotel easy to find. There was a horrible smell in the room and it was a bit run down. The sliding door to the bathroom was very noisy and it won't the other person up in the night. It also had opaque glass so when the light was put on it lit up the bedroom - not good in the middle of the night either. Walls were paper thin and we could hear neighbors snoring and the noise from the upstairs room was dreadful - sounded like we had a herd of elephants above us. Breakfast was average. The fruit juice machine was broken - they could have put out jugs of juice instead. Pancake machine was good. The plates were tiny (side plate size) - needed dinner plate size.

Great place to stay on historic RT 66. Excellent staffing and clean rooms. No nightly turndown, so no disturbances to be seen. Each floor was presentable and nice, as well as the double bathroom king suite.

Check in was so easy and fast the goodie bag was a very nice gesture . We choose BWestern mainly for the heated pool which did not disappoint. King suite had two bathrooms that came in handy with a family of four.

This was a great hotel to stop at overnight. Very helpful front desk staff. The room was clean and quite large. We'd reserved a suite and were happy with the room. Bathrooms are very small with the tub and toilet almost touching. We had a very nice quiet night.

Breakfast options were great, filling and plentiful. Pool and hot tub were great. Friendly staff. Also, glad they had a playpen for us to use for our toddler. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

front desk personnel were very helpful. Internet seemed fast enough; I didn't watch any movies online, though. A lot of trains run through Flagstaff, but that's the nature of the town. I think that the windows and heavy drapes muffled the train sounds.

Stayed at this property and it has everything. Great hot breakfast with many choices. Its comfy in the room and peeps are professional. The area is beautiful if you are visiting. Lots to do and see. I liked this property because it is a brand I can rely on to have all the features I like.

Loved the indoor pool/jacuzzi but wish jets worked. Big breakfast hall with a ton of food options. The amenities in the room like internet, cable, argon for the soaps & shampoo all made for a great stay!

The room we originally were given was too small for our needs. The staff was helpful in getting us into a larger room that met our needs. The breakfast was good. The location was good to fair. The train was close by so that may be a distraction for some. There was not a lot of good eating within walking distance. Flagstaff is a smaller city so nothing is too far away.

I rolled in a little late. The front desk was very courteous and nice. Check in was easy. The room was clean and tidy. I was traveling with my dog and when we ran into the room attendants, they stopped and said hello to her and we very sweet. She loves to meet people, so tha kind of made her morning

We are definitely coming back to this hotel. Excellent service, super friendly staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was also great. Tons of parking space. Comfy beds and pillows. No complaints here regarding the noise level. We all slept soundly.

we ravel often and stay at BE mostly. we prefer BW+ as we travel leisurely we make reservations on same day as our stay it can be challenging sometimes yet we normally are accommodated their internet always works well. ty je fitness rooms are functional but could use more equipment i like dumbbells especially. staff always helpful

If you are passing through or staying in Flagstaff, AZ. I would highly recommend this property. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome. The hotel is clean, quiet and the rooms are large and nice. Plenty of good food nearby. I will be staying here from now on when passing through the area.

This is a very good Best Western we general stay in a Suite and they are roomy and comfortable. Breakfast is good with a number of choices. Excellent internet connection. Overall a very good value for your money.

The room was clean but a little small. Bed was comfortable and smelled fresh. The road noise was a little loud however so note that if you don't wear earplugs. Location is pretty central. Breakfast was great.

This hotel is budget and family friendly. Its also clean and provides a great variety for breakfast! Would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly. The location is not far from downtown and the university.

The bathroom needs some deep cleaning. It's odd that the bedroom looked updated but the bathroom was completely ignored. Even the updated bathroom door didn't close all the way or lock. The inside of the bathroom door looks horrible, try covering it with the same thing on the outside. Bathroom was gross, didn't want to take a shower.

Strange collaboration of old and new. Different kind of entrances to rooms maybe helped to keep noise level down. Comfortable bed on second floor. Squeaky floor for morning workout not the greatest. Nice shower. Faulty coffee maker spilled 1/4 of its water. Had to struggle with electric fault switch to get it to work. Nice little breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurt server. Staff was not that friendly when I asked what to put luggage rack. From long letter in room, they may have been suffering from mistreatment during covid. Maybe a 3.75.

Always clean rooms and friendly staff! The breakfast is great with many options. I stay here frequently for work, and I have a great stay every time. The beds are very comfy and I like that the soap/shampoo/conditioner are high quality and are in dispensers rather than tiny bottles!

We kicked off our A+ stay at check-in with Bekki who was friendly, efficient, & super knowledgeable. She went above & beyond & gave us goody bags for being rewards members (thank you, Bekki!). Our room was clean with comfy beds, lots of pillows, good towels, fast Wifi, a big TV, and a recycling bin. The breakfast buffet featured hot food & excellent coffee. The gal running the buffet was also friendly and had that place running like a well-oiled machine! We used the pool & hot tub and had a super relaxing time. I would highly recommend this hotel! It's un-pretentious and was a great value. The train is close by but that's my favorite white noise to fall asleep to. #Winning!

Bekki, greeted us with a smile. Which was nice after spending 14h in a car. Our room we reserved wasn't going to fit our family but Bekki did some magic and got us a room that would. The hotel is old, but it's clean. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Continental breakfast was nice to just get something in your tummy before hitting the road again. I've stayed in fancier hotels and been horribly disappointed. BW Pony Soldier was a great expirence.

We have stayed here many times. The staff is friendly, they immediately switched our room so we were close to friends that were also staying here. Rooms are always clean. Breakfast was great, Check in and check out were very quick and easy. We will stay here again.

This Best Western was great in every way. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Very good hot breakfast with lots of food choices and large seating area. The WiFi worked great. It was a little off the main I40 and is on the historic Route 66 (and Hwy 89). Convenient location to several fast food places and restaurants. It was convenient for us heading north on Hwy 89.

The hotel is such a great place stay at and very family friendly! Clean Hotel, fast WIFI. and nice Staff. The breakfast in the morning was enjoyable. I was greeted by so many staff members when I was at the hotel.

This hotel was nice and clean. The breakfast was fresh and tasted good. It is a little outdated, but it is clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff is wonderful!! We would stay at this location again.

Have stayed here several times. The rooms are clean and quiet (an occasional train if you're in the back, but not disruptive. The water pressure is good. They are back to serving the hot breakfast buffet and there is a good selection of food that is good.

After many years of staying in other hotel brands properties I came back to best western and was happy to have done so. I needed a room in a pinch and found one at best western and then joined the points program and stayed at best westerns the rest of the trip.

We paid $217 for a half-size room with two queen beds. The room was half the size of what would be considered a normal-sized room. The translucent sliding bathroom door did not lock (broken). The bathroom was confined and the toilet and tub was not separate from the sink counter. So a lot of waiting to use either. The room and facility felt like a squeeze for money. The breakfast was menial, especially considering the price we paid. Basic items. Other BW have much better selection of breakfast items, ample rooms, and overall value. The hallway trim was out and under repair. Our view was that of a haul-away dumpster. We definitely felt overcharged and will never return.

From the moment we arrived too early for checking in, the staff jumped in to find a pet park just around the block for us then called us To say our room was now ready 1 1/2 hours earlier than expected. Then we were upgraded to a King Suite. What an awesome surprise.

We needed a hotel for our road trip from Pennsylvania. Our stop needed to be in Flagstaff so was pleasantly surprised we found this gem on our way home. The hotel was clean and made our last leg of the trip worthwhile.

We just finished going to the 4 corners and through some pretty Utha countryside. This place was in a convenient location, had the things we needed for a good rest, close to the Texas Roadhouse (where we ate dinner) and along Route 66. Rooms a littler smaller than most hotels but had everything you needed for a good night's rest, Breakfast was good and access to hop on I40 made this a good start to the morning ride out of town.

Last minute decision and not too many options at a reasonable price. This turned out to be Avery good choice, 2 queen beds, spacious room. Good towels and shampoo/conditioner. NO microwave in the rooms. Breakfast was buffet style and I was very satisfied with the choices. The only drawback was there was no fresh fruit. Only a large tray with obviously canned mixed fruits which were tasty. I prefer a fresh banana or orange etc. For the Hot items they had bacon, a cheese omelet and biscuits and gravy. The juices available were Orange, Cranberry and Apple. Breads, muffins and bagels were plentiful. Plenty of space in the buffet room in an adjacent building. Trains passed by fairly frequently all I could think of was the movie, MY COUSIN VINNY. But the trains did not keep me from sleeping fairly well. All in all a pleasant stay.

I was bleary eyed from a day of driving. I was on a trip from Delaware to personally deliver some antiques that I couldn't trust to any shipping company. I was having trouble focusing my eyes, and decided to find a place to stay in Flagstaff. I arrived very late, after 10pm. The Pony Soldier Inn was staffed by a friendly lady who got me the room and I got the sleep I needed.

The hotel is clean and quiet. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. It is located on the edge of Flagstaff but it was easy to get downtown. It is located on the old rt 66 which was kind of cool. Lots of places to eat nearby.

The joined rooms made traveling with kids really easy. The kids loved playing in the pool in the evening, there is also a circle K walking distance to get some snacks. Overall a pleasant stay at a clean hotel that served as a base for our day trip to the Grand Canyon.

We nearly always stay at BW, because you can generally rely on a safe, clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. This hotel was very disappointing and actually pretty creepy. I kept my socks on the whole time because the carpet felt sticky. The hotel is run down and the environment is unpleasant. The breakfast room is set in a different building and it smells weird. The one bright spot was the lady who checked us in was really nice and gave us a welcome gift for rewards members, which I had never gotten before, so I appreciated that.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a road trip that included the Grand Canyon. Clean room, friendly staff. The breakfast room is very large and comfortable, great selection on hot and cold items. I especially liked the country gravy with green chilies.

Best Western has really stepped up the quality of their hotels. Not only this hotel but the others I have stayed at. Make sure you get gold/elite status by calling customer service if you are a AAA or AARP member.

Check in was a smooth, the front desk explained clearly the details of everything and how to do the check out. The man who runs the breakfast was very nice and makes you feel comfortable and the food was well prepared. Will stay here next time in town

From the time we walked til the time we left was a great experience. When my wife walked in and notified the staff that we might have to check out early to get on the road, they offered to set us up with breakfast early. That was above and beyond. The rooms were comfortable. If I HAD to say negative, I would have to say that the bed was a little hard for me but every one has a different preference. Hats off to the staff at this place!

An excellent staging area for our tours of the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The bed was comforrtable, the showers were great, and the breakfast was delicious! Would stay again if our travels took us back to Flagstaff.

Not much privacy for the bathroom, glass door doesn't close all the way. Walls paper thin. People hanging out and sleeping in their car right outside our window. The only good thing about the breakfast was that it was included in your stay. I would not stay here again.

We had a great stay with our 3 dogs. Facility was clean and everyone was very friendly. We only stayed for 1 night. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was great. Would highly recommend!

This hotel is a classic. It is well maintained and very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast is worth eating with many choices. We had a king suite and it was exceptionally large. We enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is convenient if passing through Flagstaff, but location made it a bit difficult to enter and exit site with vehicle. Rooms are small but updated. Accepts dogs (we had 2 under 40 lbs without issue). One major con was the noise. We were passing through to sleep on a cross country road trip but there seemed to be people running up and down the halls and you could hear TVs from next door and below if on 2nd floor. Our room was right near an entrance to outside which proved very noisy as people were coming in and out, which was ultimately disruptive to our dogs all night.

Weekend trip to visit Grandkids in Flagstaff. Hotel is very clean and has a well trained staff. Our room was large( previously 2 rooms- now combined). Free (full) breakfast in the morning was well stocked, plenty of choices and kept clean.

Disappointment after spending $250 on this room. With a AAA discount. The room was so small you could not pass each other around the bed. There were no chairs to sit in except one chair by a little table and the room needed a thorough deep clean. It always feels icky with cigarette burns on the tub! Price was ridiculous and the front desk check out person was not polite.

The staff was incredibly friendly. Everything was clean and up to date. The shower was clean had good pressure and they had big towels. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in any hotel that has complimentary breakfast.

I was unsure of what hotel to stay at and you can never go wrong with Best Western! Our weekend was amazing and the room was actually nicer than I was expecting. We got a suite and it fit a family of 5 perfectly! We will definitely be back!

Conveniently located, close to many many restaurants and town yet far enough away that you don't feel like you're right in town. Very friendly front staff and the room was very clean. Will definitely stay again. Breakfast was good. Train nearby you can barely hear. Internet not so great but not a deal breaker.

Loved hearing the trains go by at night. Not disturbing but comforting. The old town of Flagstaff looked wonderful but did not have time to see it. Weather was cold and the wind chill factor...wow. Would love to return and explore more...

you know i usually stay where the tell me we just assume the management does not care what the condition of their product is in so we adust to the squalor your bussiness provides but this stay was remarkable . Ive stayed at many best western but non as remarkable as this one.

They take great care of this place. One of the better bed situations I have personally seen of a BW. Great Mattress and pillows and a bit heavier bedding. If you are looking for an ultra modern and stale type of place (ahem....... aloftomarriot lol) then you might not dig it. If you are looking for a safe and well taken care of property with small and clean artistic feeling rooms then this is your place. You can just tell it is managed well and has a peaceful feel. I always go here for Snowbowl. All you gotta do is go down 66 a bit to North on 4th to Ceder and it brings you right to the 180 to the bowl and bypasses downtown Flag. HEAVEN!!!!!!

Rooms are very dated. Hotel is in older area of city. Carpet in room hadn't been vacuumed. Poor lighting in parking lot. No lighting in back of hotel. Train across the street runs several times a day and night. Will look for another hotel if in area again.

Always a pleasure here because it's so well-maintained, well-staffed and reasonably priced. Plus you can park right outside your room window. It's one-story so no stairs. Breakfast is terrific, hot and cold items alike, and there is coffee in the lobby all the time. Our room had one window by the bed that opened for a breeze. Ice machines always working. This is our 3rd visit and there of course will be many more. Thank you again for your cheerfulness and excellence, Talia!

We have stayed here MANY times but this last trip in January 2022 let us down. The hotel seems much older and dated than it did on our last stay here. The breakfast used to be FANTASTIC but this trip it just seemed like a regular hotel breakfast, not sure if COVID had something to do with what was offered or not.

Location and service was very good. However, our room (138), picked up a lot of noise when a group of young men checked in about 11:00PM. Sounded like they were playing basketball. Also wen anyone took a shower or just turned on a faucet the sound of running pipe water was excessive.

The hotel was clean and easy to find. Breakfast buffet provided a variety of options. Staff was friendly and helpful. The enclosed pool was a nice addition to our stay. Train nearby, however, the noise was minimal.

Frankly, we were not expecting much from a budget hotel in a chain that we had never used before. Boy, were we surprised! The decor, the location, the cleanliness, the staff, the room! All of it was wonderful!

Very nice hotel a bit dated but the rooms are comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfast was awesome a great variety of hot and cold dishes. Covid protocols were followed. Would definitely recommend a stay there.

This place is great!! The peeps who checked us in were awesome!! We were in a great area! There are trains that go by often but we never heard them and the breakfast in on point!! The pool looked great we just didn't feel like a dip but open year round!! Becca at the front desk was great in answering all my questions prearrival!! Definitely recommend staying here! We will again!!

The room was clean and well equipped. The lighting was very good and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was very busy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Easy dining within a quarter mile. Rate was good.

This is one of our favourite places to stay in flagstaff. The hotel is simple but it always seems to delight us, probably because it is simple and refreshing after a long drive from LA. We've been here three times the past year and we'll be back on the way through again soon.

We stayed here with a pet. The hotel is older but well cared for. The staff are excellent. There is a train track just across the busy highway in front, so a room more to the back may be better. You can walk to nearby restaurants easily. Breakfast was fine but in another building across a parking lot - more interesting in winter during Covid (we carried plates back to our room).

The stay was alright. It's a little noisy as the hotel is on the main streets. Also the wall is a little too thin that I can hear noises from next door. Breakfast is above average compared to similar hotel chain.

Hotel and staff were great. Breakfast was amazing but the train every 15 to 20 minutes was unbearable. The staff at check in were fun and the breakfast was a full hot breakfast. Great choices too. The room was beyond our expectations but the train gave us no sleep.

My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. Extremely clean, nice room. Super comfy bed! Excellent hot breakfast. The hotel itself is very quaint. We would definitely recommend staying here. It's worth every penny!

The room had a bad odor and they would not even change my room when I complained. The room was very outdated. This hotel really needs to be renovated and brought up to BW standards especially for the amount they charge. There was no refrigerator or a microwave in the room. The breakfast was ok. They do serve a hot breakfast but choices are not that great. The lady during checkout was great and did apologize, so I don't think all of the staff is bad in customer service

Very nice Best Western in Flagstaff. The staff was very friendly and the room was clear. We used the indoor pool which was nice but a bit too much chlorine. The best part was the complimentary breakfast. The food was delicious!

Great room,comfortable bed and great accommodation for the disabled. The staff was friendly and courteous. Check in was quick and efficient. Breakfast was good as well! This is one of the Best Best Western hotels we've stayed in. I fully recommend it as an over all great experience!

This is my second and last stay in this hotel. Just like last time, they are pushing this COVID policy that rooms are not serviced and no bedding is changed if you stay for 3 nights. I had to refresh my suite every day because when I explicitly asked for room refreshing, the front desk lady referred me to their COVID policy and invited me at the front desk to read the GM letter. It is unacceptable to pay $200 per night and when you ask for the maid to refresh the room, make the beds and clean the surfaces to get "Oh, we have COVID policy, do it yourself, we'll bring you towels and fresh trash liners, but we can't enter your room". Since COVID my family has stayed 110 nights in Europeans hotels, hostels, bed & breakfasts which do NOT charge $200 per night, but our rooms have always been serviced if we requested so. Also in Sept 2021 we stayed in BW Provo, UT and in Oct 2021 we stayed in BW San Diego, CA and every single day our suites were cleaned! And they charged around $150 per night.

I really enjoyed the staff at the Pony Soldier Inn. They were very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and most important a true ADA room, with easy access to our car. And they have an indoor pool!!

We had multiple stays there @ the Pony Soldier in Oct & Nov 21. The staff was most helpful in getting us settled-in & for assistances we needed during our stay. The staff is friendly & don't mind putting up with questions that might seem trite or unnecessary. The morning buffet was well provided & if we thought we needed extra help the staff there was most helpful & courteous. The location on Historic Route 66 made it easy for us to find excellent places to eat & just visit; oh, the staff made several recommendations as to where, when, & what to eat. Our hats off to them. We will stay there again on our next trip to NM.

Enjoyed our stay here. We booked the family suite and it was very spacious. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. If you are a light sleeper the trains passing by might be an issue. We are not light sleepers so it wasn't a problem for us. The staff is very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful. Rooms were clean and cozy. Breakfast had a lot of options. Convenient location. This happened to be an emergency trip due to my son being in a car accident and the staff was very kind and understanding to our situation. I'm very thankful for their kindness.

Older but very well maintained. The king suite with two bathrooms was the best. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices. Front desk staff was excellent and kind. Well worth the price. Will stay again.

Ladies at the front desk were very lovely and professional! Very efficient checking us in. Did not like the fact of getting breakfast in a different building, it was cold and we have little kids, highlights of the hotel, were the lovely ladies at the front desk.

This BW is the nicest one I've ever stayed in, and the cleanest. BWPSI staff was friendly and attentive at checkin, got a gift bag of goodies for being a member, room was very clean, especially for pet friendly room. Decor was “meh” but at least not the ugly brown BW chain is known for. Nicely kept pet relief area (except for certain guests who think they don't have to pick up). One can hear other guests, but that's expected in older properties. I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised!

For the price, this hotel was very old and outdated. The pillows were huge and very uncomfortable, we opted to use clothing for pillows over what the room had. Other than that, the room was clean, quiet, staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.

The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. We stayed here one night and this was the smallest room we experienced during our three week trip. There was no grab bar in shower. A dine-in breakfast was available with a mix of hot and cold items. We did not realize at check-in there was a railroad track across the street from the property. Not only was there a railroad track, but the track crossed a street. Everytime a train approached the crossing we heard that lonesome whistle blow.

Friendly staff, ease of check in, breakfast was great! Facility is always clean, we have stayed there multiple times and will be back. The post COVID pandemic easing of restrictions allowed a more complete breakfast service for this stay in early October 2021 .

The toilet must have been 10 inches high. It was definitely child height. Front desk people told me it was built in 1960 and they were trying to update it. The person above me got up before dawn. I heard hid footsteps and all the boards squeaked ar each step. I also got to listen to the television in the next room all evening. For a 60 year old hotel it was clean. The breakfast included biscuits and gravy for their patrons

Driving into Flagstaff from N. Ca. and finding this BW was so perfect. It was just starting to storm and the Pony Soldier Inn was well lit and easily accessible. Parking was a breeze and the lighting was very good

This ain't the Ritz Carlton. This is an older property, but many of the properties in the area are older properties. And the few newer properties are considerably more expensive. That said, my room was clean, and that is what counts. Friendly front desk staff and an OK buffet breakfast. Also fresh coffee in the lobby 24/7. I'd given a 5*, but the shampoo and body wash pumps were empty in my room. This goes to attention to housekeeping detail. I had leftover stuff from a hotel stay earlier in the week, so not an issue for me per se. The TV remote did not have a 'sleep' function. Fairly rare for today's TV technology. I spent 50 nights in hotels in 2020 and another 50 nights so far this year. Can't remember the last time I had a remote without the sleep function.

We asked for an AARP discount and stated that all we needed was a queen bed. We didn't expect to be given a small, dark and old room with a child-sized toilet. We were charged $200 for the night. Outrageous! My husband is a gold member of BW and they gave us a member loyalty bag with 2 bottles of water and about 3 candies. Cheesy and Insulting. We've always preferred BW motels when we travel, but this was an awful experience.

A little difficult to get to, off the beaten path from I-40. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean but small with odd shaped bathroom with sliding door. They have a fridge in the room, but no freezer section, no microwave in room

Obviously they have worked hard to upgrade and update facility but rooms are very small and freight trains run multiple timesaver hour all the time ( day and night). Front staff helpful and very friendly but not knowledgeable about area or their rewards program. No laundry facility and didn't know where there was a laundry mat in area. Not good value for money charged. Quite expensive

A generous, helpful staff who keep a clean establishment who are ready to help with tour ideas, booking for the Grand Canyon tours, and other adventures. One recommendation is to ask for a room away from the front where the railroad tracks are located. The trains are few and far between in the eve however, the trains still can be heard from the front upstairs rooms.

Hotel does not have outside entrances which we like in order to take our dog out so they gave us a room next to the entrance and close to dog walk. We also need a handicap room. Front desk was very accommodating.

Great location and very friendly staff. The breakfast selection was one of the best motel breakfasts ever. Do not miss the sausage grave with the hatch chilies, absolutely the best! Worth the extra cost to have the King suite since we were staying for several days to explore the area including the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Truly enjoyed ourselves and will come back next time we are in the area.

Dirty dirty rooms needs hot steamed cleaned badly-floors filthy didn't even want our dog on it or eat of it . Sinks did not drain ,was put in a handicap room when we reserved a king suite. Woke up early just to get out of there $239.00 wasted

Room was clean and quiet. Bed very comfortable and the extra room with the suite makes for a more enjoyable stay. Breakfast could be better but was plentiful and filling. All services were working good internet connection.

We got a king suite and it was nice to have two bathrooms, a sitting area with TV as well as a TV in the bed area. Breakfast was good with many options. It was a little pricey, but for the area, I guess it was average price. Room was clean. Staff was nice.

We have stayed at this best western before and it continues to be a great spot! The staff are all super friendly and accommodating. The location is a close drive to downtown and one of our favorite grab and go coffee places, Wicked.

The Pony Soldier Inn definitely exceeded my expectations for a Best Western hotel. The front desk staff were quick, friendly and competent. I've never had a better check in experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was hot and tasty, with green chile sausage gravy for your buscuits. I'll be staying here again.

This place has a great design, wonderful amenities, and is in the perfect area -- lots of stores, shops, and vistas nearby. Stayed here before hiking up at Snowbowl, got plenty of good sleep (which we all know can be difficult at hotels) thanks to their comfy beds and silky soft sheets. Complimentary breakfast is legit, even during the pandemy so that is extra nice too. Employees were kind and upbeat.

We spent two nights here in July 2021 as part of a 3 week road trip. Just about every hotel we stayed in on this trip showed signs of being affected by the COVID shut downs and loss of business. This one was no different, in that some areas did seem in need of an update, especially considering this was a bit pricier than other hotels in the area. They were also dealing with some flooding in the middle hallway area by the ice machines due to flashfloods. But notably, they were dealing with the water, not ignoring it. However, the room was very clean, despite being a pet friendly one (sometimes it is clear when a motel has a different standard of cleanliness for the pet rooms!), the beds were comfortable, and the front staff was wonderful and friendly. Also, it was very convenient to heading up to Grand Canyon. Based on our experience, I would stay here again, but ask for the 2nd floor as the first floor rooms are very noisy from the people upstairs, The floors seem to not only have thin carpeting, they also squeek like floorboards, and unfortunately one night our neighbors upstairs were up and moving late into the night.

This was our last stay at a Best Western on our Great American Road Trip. We stayed at 7 other BWs along the way and this was the smallest room, and almost the most expensive hotel of the trip. The property is old and it shows, including the paper thin walls & ceiling. Thankfully the adults on the 2nd floor got the kids to bed before midnight. The bathroom was not particularly clean, which is always yucky. The train tracks are across the street from the front of the building, and there are a lot of noisy trains all day and into the evening. Our room was in the back of the hotel, however, so we could only hear it when sitting on the outdoor patio-- which was truly the saving grace of this place. Nice patio tables & chairs between the pool (indoor) and the breakfast room, where we had some drinks in the evening and breakfast the next morning with Fido by our sides. Honestly, bite the bullet and drive the extra 40 minutes (westbound) to the Williams Best Western Plus--for $50 more you will get a really quality hotel!

Noisy, not clean, overcrowded...depressing, tired decor. Extremely overpriced...at the level of gouging Staff was as helpful as they could be given the conditions under which they had to work. My room was both dingy and dirty looking.

This place needs a major facelift. Rooms are gross and dirty, beds are terrible and worn out. Stay away. This hotel Is in historic Route 66, but not in a good area. Very little services or restaurants in the area.

Tons of breakfast options and plenty of each option available, even at 8-8:30 am. The room was very clean. Bed felt amazing. The young guy working the front desk was amazing. Very polite and had a great sense of humor even though he was experiencing some technical difficulties. I very much enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it to anyone staying in the flagstaff area!

After a long day this was a great place to stay the night. Faith, the front desk lady was wonderful, the pool and hot tub were nice and family friendly. Breakfast and the breakfast area was very well laid out.

The motel is very nice and attractive. The lobby had coffee for guests as well as a business computer. Train noise was significant until about 8:30 in the evening. Nice pool and outstanding breakfast area.

The staff was very pleasant, attentive, friendly and professional. There was a problem with our billing but it was promptly attended to. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We were served a delicious hot breakfast and not a grab and go. We will definitely stay again if we're in the area!!

We arrived at 10:30 after fighting traffic most of the way, so it was really appreciated by me to be checked in so efficiently, and receive an upgrade to a suite in the back of the hotel as well. I ended up on a couch bed but didn't mind because it was comfortable enough and their cable had the Golf channel so I could watch the British Open early the next morning before a bountiful breakfast. A very good experience overall.

We got there quite late, after they had called my wife (who wasn't traveling with us!) to inquire about our whereabouts (I called them back and told them that we were delayed because my brother was a “handicapped” driver, and they actually gave us a handicapped accessible room because I made a joke). When we finally arrived they were totally ready for us and all I had to do was sign a couple places and write a license plate number; they upgraded us to a suite in the back (exactly what I was hoping for). Even though I had to sleep on a couch bed I didn't mind because we had two bathrooms and the Golf channel so I could watch the British Open early in the morning. There was a dog area right outside our room, and the morning breakfast was outstanding. I felt like a VIP the whole time.

My last night on the road. Was going to push through to California but was overcome with fatigue as the sun was setting over Route 66 in Flagstaff. I decided to find a place to sleep and finish the trip refreshed in the morning. Where to stay? I saw the friendly fiberglass pony in front of the Best Western Pony Inn & Suites and pulled into the parking lot. Friendly and professional desk clerks told me there was vacancy and promptly checked me in. Clean, updated room. Helpful staff. Breakfast in the morning. Very very good.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn. We were upgraded to a larger room upon check-in. This allowed us to spread out some more. This hotel had long hallways. The hotel was very quiet. Free coffee and tea in the lobby. The breakfast area was in a separate building. Breakfast was very good and got our day going well. We liked that the hotel was very close to Grand zcanuon (<2 hours). There is periodic train traffic right across the street but it never bothered us.. Flagstaff climate was very cool compared with Phoenix and Tucson. Nice town.

Loved this place. The pool was awesome and the breakfast was to. The staff is attentive and for a family we recommend this place. No loud noises and the rooms are very clean. Location is also a plus. When you get there tell Scott we said “hey”. Lol. Scott is the GM.

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff , And a great location, although there is a bit of train noise. It is on Route 66, so a pretty congested area. However, the hotel is old and needs to be remodeled on the inside

I've stayed at this hotel several times, and it still provides a good quality experience. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with all the usual amenities for a mid-range hotel. It is located across from the busy BNSF railroad, but the soundproofing is good, so there's very little train noise. Even with COVID-19 restrictions, the breakfast buffet was good, offering a variety of selections in a very large room with lots of tables.

This is an old run down hotel that does not meet the Best Western Standard! Given the price they charge, the condition of the hotel and the limited quantity and poor quality of the amenities.....I can't help to wonder where all the money goes.

This motel needs ALOT of work (upgrades). Motel staff was nice enough, but the rooms are antiquated. Carpet and decor are very old and worn. Bathrooms were clean but not completely functional. I won't be staying here again.

Older appearing buildings located right on HWY 66 so noise is a factor. Nearby train tracks contribute noise. Acceptable but nothing special for a Best Western, especially at the high price. Perhaps an odd objection as the toilet belonged in a preschool bathroom. Uncomfortably low. To give an idea the toilet seat was lower than the edge of the bath tub. Had to laugh but it was the lowest commode I've ever seen. Nearly like the situation one would find in the Middle East.

Pulled into the parking lot without a reservation and was immediately accommodated by friendly desk staff. Location is perfect for coming and going on a cross country trip. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Price was fair.

This hotel is older and on Route 66 but it has been kept up really well. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. This is my second stay here within a month and I would come back again. It is also close to many restaurants.

Latavia was so very knowledgeable about the dog friendly restaurants in town. She also went above and beyond ensuring that I was happy with the location of our room. Jen in housekeeping was a lifesaver by noticing that we had left a cellphone in the room and finding us in the parking lot to return it. Martin was very helpful in getting the spa to work. Excellent trip Excellent service.

This location needs a complete over-haul. The furniture, curtains, flooring, toilets, TV and mini fridge (no freezer) need an update. Everything is outdated and smells of stale cigarette and disinfectant. Everything we owned stunk after our stay And, we paid $500 to stay 1 night because the hotel would not refund the 2nd night. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Have stayed at many Best Western hotels across our country. The Pony Soldier Inn was clean, well appointed, the staff was friendly and helpful . The location was convenient for visiting the various attractions of N Arizona . Time to return to normalcy as regards to breakfast has come .

Mattress was lumpy and in poor condition causing back pain. Toilet also had issues. The pressure for flushing was not up to standard. The train track is next to the hotel. The train traffic is busy night and day. If you are looking for sound sleep, this hotel is not a good choice.

Nice hotel, not new but kept updated. Entire place was clean. Actually had a hot breakfast although the sausage patties and cheese omelets were individually wrapped in foil. Full access to juice, cereal, coffee, fruit, and pastries (individually wrapped. All staff practiced good covid actions. Average price for a room in Flagstaff in May.

Of three BWs we stayed in during a trip to N. AZ, this was the most expensive by far but not the nicest. It was perfectly adequate and the staff were very friendly and helpful, including offering a free upgrade to a suite. The suite was two regular sized rooms converted into one big room by removing part of a wall so no privacy between the bedroom and living room, but there were 2 bathrooms. The breakfast room was gigantic and adjacent to an enclosed pool area but the breakfast was very sparse compared to other BWs. The property is located on historic Rt. 66 about a ten minute drive to downtown Flagstaff and pretty convenient to dining and shopping.

Love this place, the room was great- seperate living room from the bed room, 2 tv's 2 full bathrooms. Comfortable king bed. We would for sure stay here again. Friendly customer service. It is an older bw but very well kept with good sized rooms that are super clean plenty of room almost like a small apartment with 2 good a/c units one in bedroom one in living room

Really Nice Breakfast Service. Staff is friendly. Location is great. Close to National parks and Monuments. Cleaning in rooms however is less than desirable. Our bathroom and beds weren't cleaned well at all.

This hotel is a good spot for surrounding sight seeing, Meteor Crater, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, etc . Due to Covid they did a very good job on handling guest and breakfast. Its not completely your normal breakfast but still satisfying. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. I have been to a lot of Best Westerns and for me the hotel room was a little small but overall the price was worth it. Enjoy!!

Very much in need of an update, and WAY overpriced. I'm happy to pay $170-$200 for a nice Best Western, but this was not up to standard. It was clean though. But the physical hotel & furniture were very shabby

This is our favourite place to stay in Flagstaff. The hotel is not fancy, but is comfortable and we've always enjoyed it here. It's next to a train line if that bothers you, but they don't blow their horns when rolling through town it didn't bother us at all (and we got some train spotting in as well!) We'd definitely stay again.

A great stop on the way to the Grand Canyon. Exceptionally clean and every person there was so friendly and helpful. Located on Route 66 and close to restaurants and not too far from the old town if you want to explore. Great value and everything you need!

Quick, easy checkin, outdated and worn room. No views. Clean. Noisy trains all night, thin walls. But, convenient for passing through. Good restaurants nearby. If passing through, would stay here again.

Pony Soldier has been our go to stop in Flagstaff for a number of years. Right on Route 66 and a short drive from your choice of interesting places to eat. A quick glance at the map tells you it is close to the railroads, but we hardly heard them, just a soft rolling murmur as soothing as a happy cat's purr.

I am absolutely in love with this property and the staff. The girls that checked me in were as bright as sunshine and my room was so wonderful; I just really enjoyed the tree outside of my room's window and the very accommodating breakfast; the young man hosting the breakfast was so polite - perfect for sensitive morning people! Enjoyed the coffee and pancakes a lot. I slept the best I had on my whole road trip while I was at the Pony Soldier. Thank you!

No microwaves in the room. Was told to use Lobby microwave. Not a good idea with COVID. The room was not cleaned to our satisfaction. Looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. Wiped room down to make sure it was sanitized. Mattress had a huge hole in it and the bed was very uncomfortable.

Check-in was smooth as I had made my reservations a month before. Room could use some updating but it was a comfortable bed, had all the amenities we needed and quiet. The hotel's website exterior picture could be updated as it's showing its age today but it was a good night's sleep. You do hear the train going by but not enough to disturb us. And the next morning - a full breakfast in their dining room! They had pre-made omelets and sausage patties as well as cereals, muffins, juices, coffee, etc. Check-out was efficient as your bill was slipped under your down while you were sleeping so you didn't have to go the front desk. Just leave your keys in your room and your good to go. I recommend it as a good stop-over while traveling. They do have an indoor pool as well. Lots of parking. Plenty of hot water for showering.

I was traveling with husband & a small cat in a large wire cage. We were moving across country. In the past, I have used Best Western and been happy with my stay. THIS TIME! OMG! The place is filthy. I am not exaggerating. The beds very uncomfortable and the a/c heater until would not turn off and we were cold. The young woman at the desk was very sweet and attempted to be helpful with directions to the Cracker Barrel from the hotel, and directions to the on ramp to I-40. But "that-a-way" and pointing this way and that was not helpful. I recommend more training, because she was trying very hard to help us. I absolutely would NOT recommend this hotel. Covid is not an excuse for lazy maintenance or cleaning.

Is this hotel horrible? No. But it really needs a facelift. Pretty sure it was build 50 years ago or so. Our room smelled, and we heard constant noise from trains, people in the hallway, babies crying, dogs barking, people arguing, and people talking in the parking lot. I had a class I was taking and needed to watch videos, but the internet was so slow that it would run for about 10 seconds and then stop for a minute and this continued all night long. I called the front desk to ask if they have slow internet, and the girl acted like she didn't know and said maybe I could try the lobby. This is not really acceptable for 2021, and those of us who have to use Zoom for worker school. I have been staying at Best Westerns because their pet fees are instead of a big hotel chains, but I would put this hotel at the bottom of the list. I stayed here to try to save some money. I'm sure they tried to renovate this place, but they really need to sink some money in it. I'm writing this review, because I wish I had read something like this to warn me of what I was getting into. I would never stay here again, especially due to the internet situation.

Late check in, a little slow but very friendly. The room was fantastic! Very large suite, comfortable bed, quiet floor, and the staff was very accommodating to us. The pool had a bit of an issue with it being super foggy in the across the parking lot building so you had a bit of an issue with seeing people across from you. The breakfast was modified, but pretty good. They were on top of the refilling of the coffee as soon as it was empty and were keeping things clean as people got up to leave from breakfast, which was also across the parking lot from the main hotel. Not a long walk, but a bit icy as it had snowed the evening we got in.

The young lady working at the Front Desk when we checked in was very pleasant and accommodating. She answered all of our questions and made sure we were satisfied with our room choice. Parking was a little tight for a full-size vehicle, but it was possible. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. The choices for the Continental Breakfast were wide ranging and good. We could also dine in the breakfast area with social distancing easily possible.

This Best Western is literally off of Route 66! It was very close to our favorite coffee shops, downtown flagstaff, and several other businesses. The breakfast offerings during our stay, exceeded our expectations. There was grab n go sandwiches, cereals, muffins, and make your own pancakes. We would stay here again on our next flagstaff trip!

My fiancé and I went on a ski trip to Snowbowl for the weekend and decided to spend the weekend at Best Western Pony Solider Inn. We were very disappointed with our stay... Our room was dirty - dirt all over the floor, hair on towels, surfaces not wiped down. The walls were extremely thin, you can hear everything - people walking above you, the TV next door and people talking on the other side. The front desk service was extremely rude as well. Candice, who was working the front desk, was unhelpful and did nothing to help our situation that we shared above. She did not even give us clean towels! Overall we are disgusted with Best Western Pony Solider Inn and we will not be staying here again. Take your money elsewhere!!

The staff was great. The rooms were a little on the run down side and the carpets need to be cleaned and the bathroom door needs to be oiled. The bed was comfy though. The modified breakfast wasn't bad and the pool was still open so that was nice

This is Daniel "Danny" Smiechowski of San Diego and Le Havre, France. This is a very clean hotel in which the housekeeping staff deserves respect. They are good and decent people doing a great job. As for the trains, I love to hear the enchantment of train whistles. Besides, quite frankly I really didn't hear anything. The lobby is comfy and warm. The staff are all extraordinary. They are all very helpful. Location is the best and I like the Jacuzzi. Anyway, I'll be back soon and hope you will visit. It did not arrive on time so the hotel sent it to my home in San Diego. That was very kind.

Loke the title says there were semen stains all over the couch. And the walls were paper thin. You can hear people all night long. My wife and I were unable to sleep. And it makes you wonder, if the couch is disgusting what else is not being cleaned?

One word: trains. Running all night. With whistles. Our room was far enough in the back that it wasn't awful, but it was annoying. The room was big and well-appointed. However some of the electrical outlets did not work. It was late in the evening when I discovered this, so I didn't report it. I worked around it. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Best western for one night, we were passing threw on our way to the Grand Canyons. Breakfast was amazing. The staff was polite & the room was so clean. The checking in process was easy & they were polite. Housekeeping staff was working so hard making sure the rooms & common areas were disinfected. Great job

Hallway outside of room was filthy with sand and hair and it made me feel like my room wasn't clean either - how could this have been missed. So I had to sanitize the entire room before we could use it. Motel needs updating, children's size toilet. Items that should be no touch due to covid still exist such as shampoo, conditioner, bath mat. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. Missing a microwave and refrigerator was off so that wasn't very helpful. I was very upset we had paid so much for such a disappointing room.

This is the largest (and most expensive) room we've rented so far, a King Suite. There are two rooms with two TVs and (gasp) two bathrooms! Before we rescued our dog, we often rented suites or rooms with kitchens. We really enjoyed the extra space and definitely enjoyed the two toilets. One bathroom was accessible (we hadn't requested or needed) and we only used that sink for all dog-related needs. The other, smaller bathroom was for our toiletries. There were plenty of pillows and towels. The toiletry dispensers in the bath actually worked well. It was easy to use and you didn't have to squeeze it 17 times to get enough to shampoo your hair. The pet area was not fenced, but was a nice size and had all necessary supplies. We were on the ground floor (by request) and had some neighbors with dogs (all well-behaved, of course). The breakfast was served in a separate building. There were hot offerings all individually packaged. The tables were using social distance guidlines. There were several people eating. We were anxious to get on the road, so only took some coffee and a piece of fruit. On the down side, the bed was a bit hard for me so I didn't sleep as well as I'd like. Hubby slept just fine. I also noticed that my feet got dirty from the floor after my morning shower. By the time we'd packed everything, my feet were dirty again and I had to re-wash them. We would absolutely return.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights so we could visit Sedona and old town Flagstaff. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, quiet at night. The furniture could use an upgrade and a microwave would be convenient in the room. You have to go to the lobby to heat food or drinks. The pet area was well-maintained and had lots of shade and grass. Our 2 mini Aussies loved it. Breakfast was somewhat limited on options. Would have appreciated scrambled eggs instead of flat egg with cheese and bacon better than “tan” looking sausage, but understand with Covid.

Checked in on the 19th, checked out 20th. Me and my roommate were awakened by a knock on the door at 4AM!! I saw that it was a Best western employee and Opemed the door to the indecipherable babble from Miguel, he was clearly on drugs, bypolar or something as he (like I said, I could not understand him and I speak perfectly good English) became threatening when I told him it was 4:00 AM. He then knocked 3 more times and the last time I threatened to call the police on him. He also left a plunger at my front door (odd) and the smell of cigarette smoke somehow got into my room from him smoking in hallway. I called to front desk twice, first time no answer and the second he answered as I knew it was him and called him out on it. I hung up and he immediate charges up to my room and knocks one last time and I told him i was going to call police, he scurried away and at 4:36 AM Emails me my final receipt. I am a long time platinum member and was on the road camping for 2 weeks and all's we wanted was a good nights rest, thanks to Miguel (I'm pretty sure that was his name, tall, 20's, long dark floppy hair) Me and my roommate were charged up and could not sleep the rest of the night. You may want to rethink his position as he is clearly can be a threat to anyone who stays at this hotel.

Our room had 2 queen beds, a large sofa, television, nice bathroom, a desk and a chair. It was neat clean, and well laid out. There was an information sheet in the room stating that the hotel had thoroughly cleaned the room before renting it to me. The staff wore face masks and were polite, courteous and efficient. The morning breakfast area had physically distanced tables and individually wrapped food because of the Covid. The food was quite tasty, and we were pleased at their efforts.

The location of the hotel was not worth the price. It was five miles from the center of town. The room did not feel clean. I felt I had to clean it before using it and so I did. The air conditioning unit was so loud that I went and bought ear plugs. The toilet was sized for children. No Tv guide was given so you had to go through all the channels to see what the station was.

We really enjoy our stays here...This is NOT the first time we've been to the Pony Soldier Inn in Flagstaff, we keep returning because of the excellent room, accept pet's without taking us to the bank for a crazy fee, breakfast is amazing (except now that Covid has appeared) room is stocked full of towels and coffee, great TV reception, just a clean room, and bed is sooo comfy !..Staff is amazing and always friendly...

My recent stop in Flagstaff was exceptional from the start. The check-in was easy and my dogs were clearly welcome. The dog relief area was well thought out and available. Unfortunately, my dogs didn't always make in time (diet issue).. The housekeeping crew was friendly, thoughtful, and offered to take care of the mess which was beyond my capability while in travel mode. I can't thank them enough.

wife did not feel safe at this hotel. entrance to the rooms are alcoves that have two rooms which allow someone to hide unseen from hallway. train runs all night and is right across the street. beds were very hard and uncomfortable. bathroom is very very small, seems that they wasted space on the alcove instead of bathroom space. parking feels like you are in an alley

The walls were very thin and we could hear everything in the hallways, kids screaming and running down the halls and slamming doors. Carpet smelled like piss. Room was dated and dirty. We stayed at so many places the last week and this one was the worst. Way too expensive for what they are providing. Glad we only stayed one night.

Staff are very nice and approachable; room is dated and bathroom extremely small. Hot tub and pool were nice and breakfast was good - given COVID 19 restrictions/recommendations. Parking is limited and does not flow in a normal pattern.

Our yearly stay. We travel from Tucson Arizona to Steamboat Springs Colorado every year. Our son and grandson live in steamboat. Moab is our first day drive from Tucson. We have found the best Western to be convenient and welcoming. Located in the center of town, We can walk anywhere. We need an accessible room, and I've never been disappointed.

My family stayed here for two nights during Spring Break. At check in, we appreciated being recognized as Reward Members by very friendly Leona and Valentine. At this time, the coronavirus was fairly in its' beginning- we were informed of how the hotel was operating- cleaning and safety protocols being used, as well as changes that had just been put in place that day by the Flagstaff mayor in regards to restaurant closing times, etc. We felt safe and grateful for the information. The pool and breakfast area were closed-Loretta and David had a station in the lobby with grab and go breakfast bags. It snowed quite heavily while we were there, the hotel provided brushes for guests to clear their cars off. We always enjoy staying at this BW- hotel is clean, rates are good, and customer service is outstanding!

We stayed here for a quick family road trip, they are pet friendly. The room was clean, the staff was helpful. They have an enclosed pool and a hot tub that our kids enjoyed and lots of hot water. Their on-the-go breakfast was good. I felt comfortable with the cleanliness of this hotel during the pandemic. It was all around a good value. I would stay here again for sure.

The rooms are SMALL, noise all night long from guests and their pets along with noisy trains going by. The beds and bathroom were dirty, tub didn't drain. Stay somewhere else!! Save your money! The room also had a rotten odor

Very nice place to stay If you're going thru Flagstaff Arizona. Fairly simple access of and on to I-40. Would highly recommend to anyone with family, seemed like safe area. Not a normal breakfast, but with the china flu going around they're hands are tied.

This was our first stay at a motel since the VIRUS started. We were impressed with their procedures. There was a plexiglass partition between the desk attendant & customers. The attendant was wearing a mask. That gave us a comfortable feeling. Room was good as usual (stayed here in the past).

Best Western is the best Hotel to stay in by far in any other hotel, they always have clean rooms, the people are very friendly and if not for the COVID-19 they have good breakfast. Service is really good as well.

1 time in flag staff the new normal is hard getting used to, the BW was close to the spot we wanted to explore so we stay d there I like BW causes the always have big fluffy towels. Sucks getting out onto the street heavey traffic . The best part of the stay was the night and am front desk person Joline was her name very nice person and had her sh__together on all matters concerning the motel and where to go and do. Hope she gets a raise she deserves it.

Was very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The price of the stay at this hotel was very affordable. The hotel staff was very courteous upon our arrival and departure, and were very helpful in answering questions about the town (Flagstaff) that we were visiting. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice clean room. Great service and this was duning the CORVD19. We will be making an other cross country trip next month and we will definitely be staying there again. You just can't beat the price and that good quality .

Room was what we were expecting, clean & basic. Staff were always friendly. The breakfast was a great way to start our day before heading north to the Grand Canyon (pancakes were the best part), Free parking onsite was also a bonus. Side note: currently they are using single use everything in the breakfast room (plates, cups, cutlery) it would be better to use real dishes not only for environment but for guest experince.

After a long day of hiking the Grand Canyon and driving, we headed to Flagstaff. We were going to Sedona the following day. I had researched this Best Western and wanted to use their indoor pool, value in US $ was very reasonable, the hotel was highly rated and breakfast was included. We asked for a room at the back so any trains wouldn't keep me up, and as always asked for a firm bed. The train tracks are directly across the street on 66. When we opened the door to our room (2 Queen beds) I nearly gagged. The awful smell was overwhelming. Smokers or a carpet freshener to hide odors??? We couldn't tell but for the first time ever, we returned to the front desk and let them know we couldn't stay in that room. They apologized and took the room off the available list until they could freshen it up. The front desk girl offered to show us a king suite. It was only slightly better smelling and a lie down on the bed proved it too soft for my problematic back, so we got our money refunded. We were advised all the beds on the floor were new! However, she was most helpful in suggesting more expensive hotels and motels up the road. A drive by revealed none that we would consider entering even though we were exhausted. We got on the highway and immediately found a group of 3 that were far better and nowhere near as close to the tracks, and chose a Holiday Inn which more than met our needs for only an extra $10 US.

I stayed at the BW Pony Soldier Inn at 3030 E. Route 66 Flagstaff, AZ 86004 on 27-29 Feb 2020. Both the breakfast area and the overall ambiance of the hotel were great. This property has preserved their trees in a way that befits the Flagstaff area. While eating breakfast the General Manager asked my opinion about the fresh yogurt dispensed from a machine. It was delicious and he told me it was even made in my home state of Wisconsin. There are six toppings to the right of the machine to add to the fresh yogurt experience. I liked the dispensers for shampoo and conditioner in the shower area of my room. I have stayed in many Best Western hotels and have their reward card and this is one of the very best in their chain. What goes on here is so visible as people are drawn from the corner s of both the country and the Earth to visit the Grand Canyon and most of them stay in Flagstaff.

This is a really nice place to stay and in a good general location for food and shopping. Also good if you are traveling north toward the Grand Canyon. The breakfast was very good with a better than average selection. The front desk was also very helpful and accommodating. I'd give them an A+. There was only one down size- we travel with dogs and there isn't really anywhere around to walk them. They have a very small area in the back for them to do business but it's small and you really can't take them around anywhere. We got in the car and took them to a park, but it wasn't all that convenient.

This Best Western franchise/location is fantastic. You will be robbing yourself of an excellent stay if you bypass this place. The breakfast was FANTASTIC with a wide range of choices that are simply to many to mention here.

We are driving to Palm Springs and were delighted with our room and location of the hotel. The room was clean, very spacious and it was a treat to have two bathrooms. The breakfast had great fruit and lots of variety . Check in was easy! Close to hiking. We used DoorDash for dinner as we were travelling with our dog. It was perfect too!

I'm dog faced. They were good to me. I highly recommend this place to fellow dog faced peeps, fam. Pillows were fluffy. Shampoo smelled nice. Bed was comffy. Slept like a baby, fat. Tv channel selection was great.

I travel frequently for work, and sometimes that means check-in doesnt occur for me until 1-2 AM. Staff is always courteous and wonderful! Clean, nicely decorated rooms, good cell service and wifi, easy check out!

This is a large hotel, it appears to have been renovated and modernized. The complementary breakfast is served in a separate building a few steps from the main hotel, a little unusual. We found out why when we entered. The breakfast spread is the largest and best of the hotels that I have stayed at. A large selection of hot and cold foods, with enough staff to make sure that everything was available. The staff at the hotel were always friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable, but a bit small compared to similiar hotels. There are train tracks near the rear of the hotel, but the noise did not bother us.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room/bed was comfy. Our only issue was this hotel is right across the street from the train which ran throughout the night. I used earplugs which helped.

It is easy to find , the staff is helpful and friendly . They have just finished remodeling and did a very good job. Breakfast was above average and well stocked. If you stay there be sure and get a room on the back side of the building otherwise the LOUD freight trains will disturb your sleep .

hotel was old, breakfest room was on the other side of drive way. All night was listing to trains going by. But it was close to things we were doing that week end so it was OK. Every one was nice and check in was good, took a small room with one bed which the room was clean and up graded . But could use higher toilets.

I find the service at Best Western Hotels reliably good, friendly and efficient, and was not disappointed when I stayed with four family members in a nice, well-appointed family suite for two nights in January. Our only difficulty was during "rush hour" in the bathroom, as the toilet was sometimes required when someone else was in the shower... My inquiry about alternatives for emergency situations was met, very kindly and politely as always, with an apology – but No, there was not one restroom available outside those in rooms/suites, not even in Reception, the breakfast building or attached to the swimming/hot tub area. Our suite could easily accommodate six (two queens plus one separate king), or even seven if one used the sofa; on that basis, it would have been clever to design the bathroom with a separate restroom... Other than that one brief, early morning inconvenience, our two days were completely satisfactory and we look forward to visiting a Best Western hotel again soon.

Dated...stinky and in severe need of renovations....1 star hotel... I drove by 30 hotels on the way to this one.... I couldn't picked any of them and they would have been better...we ran the air conditioning at 60° in the middle of the winter.

This hotel is really clean. Upon check-in I was offered an upgrade, but with the snacks and the 500 points for checking in as a gold member. The internet never dropped once. The snack machines were full and with many choices. the only issue was that cheap breakfast I have to cross the parking lot was not in the same building but it was a fabulous breakfast.

Do not let this very reasonably priced hotel deceive you into thinking that this would be a cheap stay... the rooms are well kept though a little dated, they are clean and everything is functional. Is small but the breakfast is very nicely kept and while I did not use the indoor pool, I saw people enjoying it even though it was pretty cold the night I stayed, below freezing... the process was fast to check in and express checked out ... I will definitely go back when I go to Flagstaff again next year...

For our trip, we needed enough space for the whole family and privacy. The Family Suite at the Pony Soldier Inn was perfect, with lots of room, a separate master bedroom, and good amenities. The staff was very friendly and met our needs. Throw in the free breakfast and the overall value was off the charts. We would definitely come back here the next time we are in the Flagstaff/Grand Canyon area.

But the pool was warm and great. Kids had a blast. Breakfast was great. Room was comfortable. Would stay again for sure. Appreciate the soy milk and gluten free bread at breakfast. Many people have food issues and this is so nice to see! The decaf instant coffee was great too. It was late but I was cold.

My husband and I were on vacation and after driving for many hours, decided to stop in beautiful Flagstaff. I love Best Western so decided to dtay there. Loved it and the service. It was clean, comfortable, and well stocked.

On our way there we hit heavy traffic, which delayed our arrival by hours. During the drive I received a phone call from the Best Western asking if everything was ok & if we were still going to make it! I loved that they called to check in, when they definitely did not have to! Once there, check in was super smooth & quick! Room was great, breakfast was amazing & check out was simple! Thank you

There are no luggage carts. Terrible for a lodge of this size. There was broken sheetrock in the room. The bathroom in nice and compact. If you aren't careful you will step into the toilet when getting out of the bathtub. Although your foot might not fit. It is the smallest toilet I have ever seen. Our end of the hall was extremely noisy. Place needs an remodel.

It was small, cozy, uncrowded, yet perfectly classy without being over-the-top. Absolutely no hassle at any point, everything was made obvious and clear, and having prepaid for the trip through Expedia, I never had to lift a finger for anything my whole stay. Facilities were nice, especially the enclosed pool/hot tub; it was almost below 0 in Flagstaff that night, yet that enclosed area was extremely warm and steamy, so the spa was dreamy. Second stay, definitely not my last. Surprisingly cheap for this much satisfaction, too!

Beds are soo comfortable; Breakfast was great, lots to select from, huge variety, we got full!!!! The location of the hotel was convienent. The pool was very quiet and enjoyable, along with the hotub.

Room was clean, breakfast was good but if you want a peaceful good nights sleep do not stay here. Walls are paper thin and if you stay on the first floor you will hear every foot step of the person(s) above you. Did not sleep well at all.

We are Best Western regulars so it was a no brainer to pick this hotel for our stay in Flagstaff. The reviews were good and the price couldn't be beat. The hotel is in need of a major renovation, it's old and tired. The heating in our room kept turning off and we had to keep re-setting the breaker (that is what the front staff suggested as a solution). When we opened our curtains each morning there was so much moisture on the inside of the window. As an fyi the trains run regularly through Flagstaff, even in the middle of the night. The train runs right by the hotel (across the street). We got used to it pretty quick, but if noise bothers you this hotel isn't for you. On the first night we could also hear the people in the room next to us so the walls are pretty thin. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, the wifi was excellent. The breakfast was very good with lots of hot and cold choices including things for people with dairy and gluten sensitivities. We got to Flagstaff just after a major snowstorm so I can't comment on how walkable things are as the sidewalks weren't all cleared yet. The hotel is on Route 66 so easy access to Grand Canyon, Sedona, etc. Was originally going to stay in Sedona but glad we decided to day trip it from Flagstaff as hotels are far cheaper in Flagstaff, and Sedona is only about an hour away (and such a beautiful drive). I think for one night this hotel is ok, but if you're staying for multiple nights you might want to look at other hotels.

Everything and everyone was perfect the staff was friendly and helpful They went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and that we had all the information we need it. They even made a map for us

I stayed here with my wife back in August for only one night as we had another night booked at the Monte Vista. I honestly would have preferred to stay here for the two nights, because our stay was so comfortable, and the staff were so nice and accommodating. We ended up booking a suite, because the price difference was very minimal compared to the standard, and I was amazed how BIG the suite is at this hotel. The suite has 2 bathrooms, and plenty of space for 2 people or a family traveling together. Very comfortable, and clean! The hotel also offered a full breakfast in the morning, and it was surprisingly really good! I have stayed at other Best Western hotels and the breakfast was kind of tasteless, but this Best Western really knocked it out, and there was a ton of good options. I would also like to thank the front desk staff for providing great customer service, and being accommodating with a late checkout on our last day. My wife and I were hiking Mt. Elden, and it ended up taking us longer then we expected (ALTITUDE), and the front desk staff were very easy going regarding having another hour so we could freshen up after the hike. I would highly recommend staying at this Best Western! This will probably be my go-to place to stay when I come up to Flagstaff in the future. Thanks again for a great stay!

Very good breakfast, variety of hot foods, excellent coffee, clean rooms, comfortable beds, easy find, friendly personal. I'm a stickler for cleanliness especially bathrooms and beds and this hit high on both marks.

The room was excellent, very clean, and had every thing I needed. Very easy freeway access but very quiet. There were many restaurants close by. Very large screen TV. I like the fact they limited max volume.

The rooms were nice and clean, when we got there we had arrived early and were able to check in right away, breakfast was great they have a whole lot of options to choose from and their internet speed was great I was able to finish my work.

Great rooms and excellent staff and breakfast. Food was hot and great. Room was a little small but for one night it was great. No rest rooms in the lobby so go before you check out as the only rest rooms are in the guest rooms.

First off,they made us feel very welcome and were very helpful in helping us make our daughters 6th birthday extra special!! Its a very clean hotel with friendly and cheerful staff. The pool and hot-tub were clean,the breakfast was great and we would stay here again without hesitation if we are ever back in this area again!!

The hotel was easy to find. The ground were clean and well maintained. The front desk employees were friendly, smiling and all had great attitudes. The rooms were clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable. The shower and toilet were in good working order with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very good. Lots of variety to choose from. Hot and cold items. The breakfast tasted fresh. The employee in the dinning room was friendly and helpful. She was also very attentive to room and the food items.

Good accommodation at a reasonable price. Good breakfast with variety of menu items. Clean and comfortable room. Fast Wi-fi. Friendly staff. The only problem was noisy neighbours who liked to slam doors.

Across the street from busy main road and very noisy train tracks (freight trains). Older hotel with small rooms that are not sound proof. Can hear people talking and coughing in the next rooms and upstairs. The front lobby is updated and pleasant, so don't let this fool you! Due to noise we recommend you DO NOT stay here. Unfortunately, we booked this hotel in advance at the no refund rate and were not aware of its noisy location or lack of sound proofing. If not for that we would have found a newer hotel away from the main road.

I picked this hotel because I needed to use CLC. upon arrival I was told that in the morning my COC account would be billed and my credit card would be refunded. When I woke up they refuse to Bill my CLC account and would not refund my credit card.

We have stayed here several times. Always plan our trip so we can stop for the night at The Pony Soldier. Very nice,clean rooms and very comfortable beds. They have a very good breakfast and the staff is really nice. Flagstaff is a nice town with good places to eat and the scenery is beautiful.

Being in the rewards program made the check in super quick! The continental breakfast was great! Lots of choices. The location was easy to get to and very secure parking. Wifi was strong enough for us and what we needed it for.

The rooms were ok. It is a old hotel that looks like they are fixing up. The noise above us was very load in our room. U can hear people walking very loadly, and u can hear other peoples tv also. The value for price was good, and the breakfast was good. Also the internet speed was very slow.

The hotel is in a good location and the staff and services are good for a low end hotel, but the physical property is very tired and in need of a serious upgrade. The breakfast was good and the staff kept the breakfast service neat and well stocked. The overall value was excellant. Under $100 for a room with a sittng area and 2 bathrooms.

We stayed at this hotel on a road trip from California to Canada. It was the worst hotel on our trip. The room was super old and in dire need of a renovation. Tile floor, tiny old bathroom, no phone in the room and there was a spider on my pillow when we arrived - plus there was a dog barking in the next room. I have to say though that the beds were super comfy.

Loved the location.. The nearby train didn't bother us at all but the layout of the rooms were horrible.. You have a tiny hall that leads you to your room door which is right beside your neighbors door, reminds me of an apartment house. Worse yet that hallway to you room is taken from the space you have in your hotel room.. The smallest room ever, reminds me of the ONE time we stayed at a microtel.. Plus the whole place smelled musky.. On the bright side the breakfast room is a completely different building and was very nice.. Everyone was nice but we Would not stay here again.. Just too small for more than one..

We enjoyed our stay very much. Front desk clerks were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent with a great selection. We had a cooler of frozen meat and the clerks were nice enough to put in the freezer for us.

Hotel is a bit older, but clean and comfortable. Front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Good location for travelling through. Lots of parking. Appreciated being able to find parking for our truck and ATV trailer.

Awesome breakfast. Every morning had many hot and cold choices. Food was delicious. Great value and service. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. Staff was very helpful. It looked like the place was recently remodeled. New paint and carpeting. They were working on putting stone on the outside walls. Very appealing!

Staying at Best Westerns have never disappointed us, great value, excellent CLEAN rooms with comfy beds, good towels, great breakfast with fresh food & fruit to fill you up. The staff at the Pony Soldier is outstanding and we will be returning as this was not our first stay here. Easy in/out and has everything and more than we need.....

This Best Western is a good location along route 66 just east of downtown Flagstaff. It provides an easy in and out, west or east route to Grand Canyon or to Snow bowl or Sunset Crater. The staff is polite and considerate. There will be a train close by but that's Flagstaff.

Very nice staff, always greeted in the hallways. Comfortable beds, Great breakfast. Internet was good. I had no problems during my stay. I will continue to use the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn and Suites every time I visit Flagstaff!

Was a good trip really can't complain, I hit complementary hot breakfast twice because I thought it was pretty good for a hot breakfast. Was a pretty good place to stay I would stay there again for sure.

This is a very basic motel. Room was clean (could have used a bit of deep cleaning in the corners). Bathroom was very small, and room layout a bit odd. Location was good as it was out of the congestion closer to the University. We had a room towards the back and it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was a bonus; food decent. The staff was all very helpful.

I stayed at this BW location on my relocation to Phoenix. Nearby are great view of the mountain but just outside the busy area of Flagstaff. I was given an upgraded room which was perfect; 2 bathrooms with a living room and bedroom. Great televisions with lots of channels available. The breakfast was great too. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in Flagstaff again. There was a slight sound of a train during the day, but it was not an issue for me.

Due to vehicle troubles, a one night stay turned into a week. From Mark, the general manager, Beverly, Jamie and others at the front desk , Ryan and all the housekeeping people, everyone was more than accommodating, polite and always asking if we needed anything. It was much appreciated in a most stressful time. The motel is on Rt 66 which is busy but for us also conveniently located by restaurants, public transportation, a beautiful park and not far from the mall. Breakfast was included and the hot tub used nightly. Flagstaff is a train town with tracks across the street in front of the motel. However with duel pane windows, it was not really a problem for us as there are no train whistles. For light sleepers it might be a problem.

Stopped here on way to Texas. We stay at Best Western most of the time. We found this location exceptional. First of all happy that when we requested points instead of gift bag for our gold status she said "we do both"! Also happy to find she had given us a free room upgrade for our gold status without us even asking to room 232 which was a quite large suite with 2 bathrooms! and a separate living room with 2nd tv and desk. The indoor pool and hot tub was great and we fully enjoyed the free hot breakfast which had the usual pancake (automatic maker), pastries, bagels, English muffins, scrambled eggs, sausages, cut fruit, 4 cold cereals including granola cereal. We stay at Best Western quite a bit so know what to expect and this one exceeded our expectations (its a regular BW not a Plus but felt like a Plus. We found newpaper outside our door in the morning which we don't usually experience now adays. The wifi would occasionally drag a bit for instagram stories but was very adequate for email, YouTube, etc. The staff in the lobby and at breakfast were very friendly. I really can't think of one thing I was disappointed with here and we felt the price for the room was reasonable (we booked thru BW website). We will definitely stay here the next time we are passing thru Flagstaff.

We had been traveling the past ten days going from OKC to San Diego and back. We were tired and ready for a good night's rest and we found it just perfect at this BW. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well as the comp breakfast was a great way to get us off in the morning. Reasonable priced room, especially for Srs. and was nice and large. Great place to stay, will be back.

Nice service but room is not clean also very noisy. You can easily hear the up-stair people walking and the cars outside. Restroom is old, we even cannot lock the door. Floor is dirty, I doubt they vacuum the carpet or not.

This is an older hotel, but the condition of the place doesnt tell you that. good breakfast and plenty of parking. We were warmly greeted by the desk staff and we like that our dog is able to travel with us and not force us to jump through hoops. Too many hotels forget that more than half of American travelers bring their pet with them on the road.

This hotel is located right on the famous Route 66. Walking distance to many places to eat. Trails near by. Quiet, comfortable with helpful staff. Breakfast has many options and is great. We have stayed here dozens of times and they recently did renovations and it is really nice!

We were thankfully only there one night, as the room had a distinct odor they could not get rid of. There was a lot of construction going on one side of the building. Breakfast the next morning was marginal, and a couple hours later I had a terrible upset stomach.

Check in was awesome. Quick, super friendly. Room was large and clean and the bed was amazing. It was a suite with two bathrooms and the only minor issue was both showers being on at once created super low water pressure.

This hotel has been updated. The staff was friendly and attentive and the hotel was one of the more reasonably priced rooms in the area. It was completely full and it wasn't even high season. There was a nice pool and great breakfast. The problem is the room smelled like smoke and I couldn't figure out the cause as it was a non-smoking room. I only got relief after having the door open and running the air conditioning.

We normally stay at Best Westerns when we travel. A lot of construction going on outside of the hotel. We were greeted with a little goody bag that made me feel pretty special. Our room was comfortable.

I booked this hotel to be close to the Grand Canyon. Although it was under construction, it did not bother me. The breakfast was great. I had a king suite and enjoyed the space. I had 2 very good night sleeps.

When we pulled in to the motel, it was obvious there was major renovation work going on. We were not aware of this when making the reservation on-line. The room we were given was quite small. The room did not have a microwave in it. We ended up using the microwave in the lobby one evening. The toilet worked but it was very slow flushing. The first two nights cost us about $75/night. The third night was on a Friday and the price was over $200. I know that Friday nights are always the most expensive at any motel/hotel, but 2 1/2 times the price of a weekday night is way too much, especially for a very small room.

It was a good visit we slept there showered at dinner and breakfast and left for our next destination of our trip to see family and also to site see. Staff was very friendly upon arriving and leaving.

We stay in Flagstaff a LOT -- for both business and pleasure. Had trouble booking this room on Hotels.com and was forced to do the booking directly with the hotel after multiple failed attempts online. Rooms have been updated and they are working on redoing the exterior but this is an older property in town and it shows. Front staff is nice but parking is VERY crowded, breakfast is terrible, there is no microwave in the room and the back side of the bathroom barn door was filthy. There are TONS of hotel choices in Flag and while this one does not rank at the top of the list the price if fair for what you get.

when we arrived at pony inn, our reservation was ready and we had been upgraded to a suite. the room was nice and comfy. beds were soft and I slept really well. the internet worked great to get our airline tickets. we got up and had a really good breakfast.

Room as large, with comfy bed. there are renovations going on, but there wasn't any noise during the night when you sleep. Hotel located on Route 66, so there are trains and traffic noises but again, I didn't have a problem sleeping. My room was towards the back of the hotel. Small swimming pool with a depth of 6 ft. My niece had a blast. Hot tub was also nice. They do serve a complimentary breakfast which I did not partake in.

We were back in Flagstaff recently and it reminded me that I hadn't reviewed this great place we stayed at last winter. It has hands down the best breakfast I've seen in a long, long time. Lots of choices and good quality. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly.

Came to our last stay for our crossing 12 states road trip. The breakfast facility is right next to the hotel in a standalone building. Providing more items than other BW hotels we stayed during the trip. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub before we hit the 8 hours driving to home.

Nice comfortable accommodations and my Best Western points got me a superior room upgrade to a two bed suite. This location is evidently popular with families traveling. Uncharacteristically large breakfast area and a large pool.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in Flagstaff. We went on a all day tour at The Grand Canyon. The hotel was right off of Route 66. Very close to many restaurants and easy access to the highway. We originally reserved the family suite, however they had construction going on and change us to two standard rooms instead. The beds are very comfortable. We had a large tv, refrigerator and lounge chair in our rooms. The first night we woke up to no hot water. The front desk said the compacity of all the guests were the reason and it should eventually catch up. This property probably has the nicest breakfast area that I have seen yet. It is in a separate building, but it looks brand new. Each morning there was different options. They offered eggs two different ways, sausage hash, bacon, pastries, oatmeal, pancakes, fresh fruit, and much more. It was a great spread and the attendents were friendly and made sure nothing ran out. The pool is also across the street by the breakfast area. The pool went up to 6 feet deep! Which was nice being taller I could actually stand up. They provided full length towels in the pool area. The hot tub was nice and hot and the jets worked perfectly. You can tell the staff keeps up with everything, it was nice and clean! No bugs which was nice being it is outside. Overall very good stay. I highly recommend this hotel for any family visit! We had such a great time visiting The Grand Canyon.

Very pleasant experience staying in this particular hotel, to start the staff is friendly,welcoming and helpful. The room spacious and clean, the breakfast is truly a buffet, spacious breakfast hall clean and well organized. Excellent location near the highway. Overall the best hotel I've ever stayed!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent price. Quiet. Beds need up grade. Breakfast was not too bad although eggs need to be REAL not Powdered. Got a good nights sleep. Parking lot should be changed to one way .OI think it would make more sense .

What a great hotel! The rooms are unique as they are set back off the hall... It makes the rooms more private and quieter! Everything from the decor to the furnishings were wonderful. Beautiful large windows with amazing views and lots of light. A nice sized bathroom with a sliding door which was actually very nice! Breakfast was across the parking lot in its own building. What a GREAT BREAKFAST ROOM! Large and spacious, comfortable and homey, with even a fireplace. Food selection was huge and the variety was excellent. The breakfast staff was very efficient and never let anything get too low even though it was busy... And one of the coolest things was an automatic... push a button... and out pops two freshly made delicious pancakes! Just top notch all around. The front office staff was wonderful and exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would say that they went above and beyond to be helpful... Kudos to them…thank you for making our stay even more enjoyable! What an overall amazing experience! We are already planning our next stay at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn hopefully for Thanksgiving!!! Stay here!

I'd recommend this one for families or people with dogs. There were a lot of both here and it was very welcoming. The staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was excellent - lots of choices. The location, right on Rte 66, made it really easy to navigate anywhere in the city and back again. One criticism, while everything appeared very clean, our room smelled a bit funky - mildew, maybe? - but it was not significant. We'd stay there again.

We stayed at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites on our way back from the Grand Canyon. It is good for a quick sleep. The front desk is excellent and very accommodating. However, the hotel has no extras. There is no public restroom in the lobby area. You have to rely on your room only. The pool is small. The breakfast is good. This hotel is good for a quick stop over and sleep to break up a long trip.

We arrived at the appropriate arrival time and the room was not ready. We came back a couple hours later and they put us in a “pet friendly” room even though we have a trained medical alert service dog. Dogs were barking and when we got in the room there was a type of (medicine) pill on the floor and a dirty tissue with what looked like poop on it under the bed. Looking under the bed further-there was a spill of some kind and very dirty under the bed. My husband complained to the manager and she put us in a regular room that was clean and took some off the bill. She went down and cleaned the room herself. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence.

My room was very clean and spacious and the furnishings were modern. There's a swimming pool on the grounds and the Inn is pet-friendly. The complimentary breakfast is great with many hot and cold choices and variety of beverages.

The front desk was really friendly and very helpful from start to finish. The bed was comfortable and everything was nice and clean throughout our stay (even the remote was cleaned). The continental breakfast exceeded expectations, with a ton of hot options, fresh fruit, and the usual. It was right on Route 66 close to downtown and right across the street from a safe and convenient walking/running path. Every now and then I could hear a door shut in the hallway or someone walking upstairs but nothing disrupting. It was reasonably priced for a great stay!

Always great at Best Western's. Never any problems. Will always go to Best Western when ever available. No other hotel will do. Hope they continue to build more Best Western's all over the USA so we would be able to stay at one no matter where we travel to.

On the road home from vacation, and stopped in Flagstaff. The motel is on Rte 66, and across from the active railroad tracks. That wasnt a problem - the rooms are pretty soundproof. The breakfast is offered in a separate building on the property - food was good and the dining area was roomy. On this trip, we did notice BW has apparently transitioned to soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers. They did have facial bar soap.

After a long ride and being a BW card holder we stayed. First off the rooms need updating. You can hear every little sound. We had to listen to trains going on tracks. We could hear people conversations outside of our window. The only good thing is the breakfast that is served in another building.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. Arrived late after a very long journey, one room the carpet was wet and the room smelt damp so changed room the following day. Rooms are ok but could do with a make over. Beds were comfy but the noise from the road and the constant noise from the goods trains was awful. Would have prefered not to be on route 66. Reception staff were helpful, breakfast very basic.

We were fortunate enough to get a hotel last minute in flagstaff on the 4 th of July. The staff was awesome. The maid supervisor and the maintenance man were so friendly and helpful with my concerns. Hotel is dog friendly for an additional 25.00. The hotel was very clean and welcoming with free breakfast . We paid 169.00 for a 1 queen bed room . Way overpriced, but it was the holiday. Beds are comfortable BUT the room we had (room101 ) was insanely HOT. It wasn't hot outside but the room felt like a hot box. Great place just make sure you are not in room 101, unless it's winter !

Based on the previous reviews of this hotel, I booked here for a stay on Route 66. The first room I was assigned had a horrible odor to it. The front desk suggested that they put in an air purifier that would take the odor out in 30-60 minutes. I declined and stated that my son has asthma and allergies and this room was not acceptable. I first told that they were not sure what they could do as they were full tonight. We were then reassigned to another room. It happen to be an ADA accessible room - not a problem - however, the second bathroom that is to be used by a physically challenged person has a toilet that is not one I would use - black junk under the rim. Unfortunately, the floor (both carpet and tile) was filthy. On a positive point, the room had a better smell.

This Best Western is average. Nothing special. It's good for a place to sleep. The room was clean, the bed was firm and comfortable, and the front desk service was good. The best thing was the breakfast. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, with fresh cut-up fruit, along with the usual continental items. It's overpriced for what it is, but all lodging in Flagstaff is overpriced.

This was the first night's stop on a long road trip. Best Western has a good reputation, so we opted for this location. I called in the reservation from a couple hours out since I had some issues with the on line reservation using my smart phone. The reservation was accepted by a very competent individual who honored the on line price. The room was as expected, clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. In the morning they have a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, variety of toasts, yogurt, fruit and of course juice and coffee. A good send off for the day's journey.

A hotel right on Route 66 is only the beginning. A good value and an excellent breakfast included. If clean and quiet is what you want, this is the place for you. Not too far from the old town area, but a very easy drive to get to this area.

Everything about the BW pony Soldier was excellent: location, rooms, cleanliness, BREAKFAST, easy to book, check in, and check out. I enjoy the pool area and jacuzzi after a long hike. Perfect place to rest.

My family stayed at this Best Western for two nights. Before I consider a hotel, I always read the TripAdvisor reviews. Our eight year old son loves trains, I read reviews that there were rooms facing the train tracks. I called the hotel and Talia put in a request for the room that faced the train tracks. We were recognized as BW Rewards members at check in. We arrived just after the check in time, but had to wait for a room to be cleaned. It was fine due to the fact that they were able to honor our request of the room with a 'train' view:) While we waited, the GM Mark Ross, was very professional and apologetic for the wait. The room was quite spacious with our son loving all of the trains! If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the room for you with the trains running around the clock. The tracks are on the other side of Route 66, but if there is no street noise, you will hear the trains. The breakfast room and complimentary breakfast were very enjoyable. Plenty of tables and food and drink options available. We did not use the pool, so I cannot comment on that. The hotel location is close to dining and shopping. We recommend this hotel.

As a member of Best Westerns highest tier rewards member I expected to be put in a better room than I received even after asking to be moved to a different room after my first night. I was on the bottom floor and any time someone walked in the room above me it sounded like an elephant. The internet is ridiculously slow and as someone who used the internet for work it was awful. The hotel seems a little out dated as well. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The room was small and barely had room for my luggage. Also when the sun came up my room got hot even if I had the A/C on and set to 60 degrees. The staff was friendly so they have that going for them Next time I'm in Flagstaff I will be staying at different hotel

The hotel is close to several places for food, gasoline of course fairly close to the grand canyon. I loved the breakfast selection and that I was able to fill my water bottle. The front desk staff was friendly. I received daily newspaper, cable TV, refrigerator at no extra cost. I would definitely stay here again to explore the close hiking trails.

I have stayed at the BW Pony Soldier so many times that I have lost count. Always clean, safe, great value, and fantastic staff. It's not the closest hotel to campus, but that has its advantages. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast room is always clean and bright, with many healthy choices and friendly staff. A definite "keeper" for anyone who visits Flagstaff on a regular basis - to visit NAU students or explore all that gorgeous northern Arizona offers.

I booked a hotel room for work travel and my event cancelled the week I was supposed to be there. I forgot to cancel my hotel reservation (my fault) but there was no reminder email that my reservation was coming up, no email that I had been billed. I only found out about it when I got my credit card statement. When I called to see if BW would work with me since I am a state employee (read: low pay) and I will have to pay out of pocket ($120) they said there was nothing they could do since my credit card had already been billed. I am disappointed and think the company should send out confirmation emails prior to the date of travel. I also think it would be a good practice to have some sort of forgiveness program for returning customers.

One of the better motels on this stretch of highway. Room was very comfortable and the included breakfast was better than average! I highly recommend this motel for location and price. Nearby was an excellent restaurant called the Whisk and Whiskey....best meal I had on the road.

Convenient location and pet friendly. Breakfast was included and was good. We stayed 2 nights... one on the way to Colorado from California, and one on the way home. The first night, the room was fairly small, and felt cramped. It had a tile floor, which seemed smart for a pet friendly room. But, it was also the first room down the hall, so as close as you could get to the ice machine. My dog did not appreciate the noise from the ice machine every time someone got ice. Not the hotel's fault, but still annoying when people are getting ice at midnight. The second night we were actually down the hall, and as far as you could get from the ice machine. The room was bigger, but had carpet, which looked dirty and old. The room also smelled like smoke... either the previous guest was a heavy smoker, or someone had smoked in the room. I don't know... maybe the smoke was in the filter of the a/c. That reminds me... the rooms get hot and stuffy quickly, so the a/c is a must. Unfortunately, it's so loud! It sounds like you're in a wind tunnel. The hotel is also across the street from train tracks, which we didn't notice the first night, but trains seemed to run all night long the second night we were there. My wife and I both said that we probably would not stay at this hotel again.

We stayed on a Friday night. The total price was $180 but this is about $80 more than a comparable inn. It was clean but the non-smoking room still smelled like nicotine. The staff is friendly. Vending is located in the back of the building and I prefer fresh eggs for breakfast. Maybe I'm picky but I slept well. The neighbors had kids that slammed the door a few times but it calmed down after the pool closed ;).

But I like this one in particular. The staff is helpful and friendly, the amenities are useful, the wifi is fast, and the breakfast is...adequate (I’ve had better, but it meets my needs). I find the stay is easy and pleasant, and within my price range.

I asked for a cot and didn't get one,the mattress was to hard. Would be nice to have USB ports instead disconnecting items in the room for chargers. Was there for two nights and the second night had to walk all the way to the front office cuz card keys didn't work. Tile in the restroom needs to be replaced. Floor was noisy when walking around.

This is an older hotel but has been remodeled, is well maintained, and clean. Breakfast had several choices including hot items. For a quieter night ask for a room near the rear of the building (away from the highway and rail line) and upper floor.

Very nice stay at this best western. About an hours drive to grand canyon, nice little downtown. The employees were all so friendly and efficient. We had a king size suite..it was huge! The hotel is an older one and is well kept and very clean. We had wonderful breakfasts, many choices and different options each day, delcious!! We would definitely go there again if we find ourselves in the area.

The staff in the lobby were extremely nice. Checking in was a breeze, they were fast and efficient. The room was very clean and I like the fact that they are tucked a little away from the hallway. Breakfast was hot and delicious.

Every employee we encountered was amazing! It is an older property, but other than that, it is clean, spacious and has all the necessities! An excellent value. Recommended by my son who has traveled here on business!

Great hotel! Located on Historic Route 66! Close to the railroad, love sleeping with trains. Very nice room, staff and great breakfast, too! Conveniently located to highways, to Grand Canyon, Sedona, etc.

After being on the road all day while driving from CA to NC we needed a place to stay for the night. Our original place where we made a reservation decided they wanted to charge us much more than what we reserved at. This was at 10:30pm. So we drove and found this place instead. Thank God we did!! This place was great. The girl checking us in noticed we were in a huge box truck and told us exactly where we could park it. She was nice, attentive, friendly and just perfect. The room was clean. The beds were so comfortable. And in the morning the included breakfast had everything!! It was huge and delicious and a large, clean dining area. If passing through Flagstaff most definitely stay here.

We stayed here for our granddaughters graduation. It is a nice hotel. You will need to watch rates tho, gets very pricy for special things like graduation. The breakfast was nice, our room was good. Flagstaff seemed like a nice little town, wish the weather had cooperated, it rained. Not citys fault tho. The ride from Phoenix is beautiful.

My husband and I had a fine stay, but honestly it was nothing exciting. The rooms were clean but need updating. We in no way had a bad experience but there was certainly nothing exceptional about the hotel. The price was pretty on point I suppose.

This hotel is on the easy side of town which allows me to avoid downtown traffic congestion....a big annoyance. It's also next to some of my favorite restaurants in flagstaff.... fat olives. Fantastic breakfast too.

Our room was on the second floor near the back and we were very pleased that we could not hear the trains. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was very good. Overall a great night's stay and we will be back.

clean hotel and convenient location to stores, airport and restaurants. Very good breakfast. We rented a car at airport next day to go to grand canyon. But need to take cab from airport to hotel (not that far) upon arrival, and back to airport to rent a car.

Location is easy to find, Front desk staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable in nearby restaurants and attractions. Check in/out was efficient. Rooms are very clean, hotel is quiet, Rooms could use some updating (personal opinion) but everything was in good working order and very clean. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit. Great Value for you $$

I have stayed at this property a few times over the past few years. It is a nice place with good pricing. It has an excellent breakfast, one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. It is also pet friendly which is important as I often travel with my dog. It is not super fancy but it is a clean solid place to stay when in Flagstaff.

This place exceeded expectations....very clean, nice breakfast and lobby area, nice pool and very attentive staff. No extra frills, but cozy and nice, especially for the price. Was the perfect location for trips to the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Sedona and Sunset Crater.

Stayed here in April at the start of the grand canyon busy season. Both rooms i stayed in where clean and comfortable. Had a slight issue with one and Gabe and Katelyn where both helpful and truly cared about costumer satisfaction!!!

We have traveled all across the United States staying in Best Western properties. We have stayed in the basic, Plus and Suites. There is no way you should call yourself a Best Western Suite. Your room is very small. The only reason we booked a room with you was because you described this property as a Suite. I paid the extra money and thought I was going to get a Best Western Suite. Lesson learned.

Excellent and acommodating staff, easy check in, clean rooms, free breakfast, easy parking, convenient right on the strip, big tv, comfortable beds. Our only downside was not very good hot options for breakfast.

One of the nicest BW motels we've stayed in. Stayed 4 nights with our 2 dogs and had no complaints. Breakfast area and food are excellent, room was small but adequate for our needs. Great value for the price. Clean and comfortable. Great pet area.

We were surprised by the breakfast as it was not the typical BW regular breakfast. There was a lot of variety and it was very clean and well taken care of. The staff were great and we will defiantly come back.

Service was excellent breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced rooms were clean and well maintained my wife was able to point out a few areas that could use improvements and the lady in charge of the housekeeping was excellent

We stayed here one night after visiting Sunset Crater and Wupatki NM's. Hotel is quite old looking on the outside. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast had good selection and lots of seating. Front desk was very professional and helpful. Would stay here again.

Got to the hotel for my reservation and found my room had been upgraded. The room was amazing. King size bed and it was very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Eggs, bacon and potatoes. Also available was coffee danishes, bagels and cereal and oatmeal. Great start for my day.

We stayed at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn on our way to the Grand Canyon. Found the hotel on line so having no knowledge or any recommendations it was a lets see what happens. We wre very pleasently suprised by the room and the empolyees. The problem with most hotels is outside noise, the room was pretty much sound proof once you closed the door. ot saying we didn't hear here other guest we did, but no walking around over head( we were o the main floor), banging door or TV's.

Wonderful clean hotel with easy parking, great location, great breakfast, and good wifi. Staff went out of their way to assist us with directions and advice. Many restaurants nearby including the best Mexican restaurant.

Stayed at this hotel enroute from Las Vegas to Sedona and wanted to see the Grand Canyon. It's about an hour and a half to the Grand Canyon on very picturesque route 89. Hotel has all the basics including a great breakfast to start the day. It even has an elevator which I have found many hotels in this area do not. A great place to stay in Flagstaff. The only negative is train tacks are nearby and there is lots of traffic at night.

We stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Pony Soldier and when we checked in, we were upgraded to a King suite with 2 bathrooms. Everything was clean and I agree with others that the complimentary breakfast was great for the price that we paid! Everyone we talked to was nice and I would stay here again if in Flagstaff.

This motel is off the beaten path in a rundown area and street. It has seen far better days. Patchwork attempts to update some things accentuate what's left undone. We upgraded (for an add'l cost) to a king suite. Beat up furniture, dirty carpet, dingy bathrooms, and no WiFi or cell service from that back corner. The good news was the cinder block construction kept noise levels very low. The worst part? The room had fleas. My dogs are protected from them, but not me. Don't expect any extra cleaning just because you pay pet fees. That's a real joke!

We had reserved two rooms, one room was noisy, due to close proximity to the railroad line, a room change remedied that issue. The other room had issue with a dispenser, which was quickly and professionally remedied by the cleaning staff. The breakfast area was kept clean and items restocked regularly. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms were clean and appropriate.

We liked this hotel very much, the lobby was very nice, staff were very nice, breakfast was delicious, coffee was awesome, bed was comfortable, a little noisy due to trains going by, amenities were great, location was great, queen room was a little small but comfortable and clean.

Modern decor and we'll maintained property. The hot breakfast was much better than many upscale brand names. Shower was excellent and definitely added value for the cost. Bedding was comfortable, but maybe a bit on the soft side. Heater worked well and ran quietly. Noise from the nearby and very active train tracks was not a problem, but we were lucky to get a room on the opposite side of the property.

My husband and I found the room clean, the beds comfortable and the staff very helpful. The breakfast had good selections and was well stocked. The nearby trains did not disturb us. The elevator could have been more conveniently located, but we managed. The exterior of the building could use some freshening.

After a day at the Grand Canyon National Park, we arrived ready to relax, eat and rest. Our check in experience was excellent and we were provided with some very local dining recommendations. We opted for one of them and were very satisfied. The rooms we had were fresh and nicely appointed. As the hotel is close to but perpendicular to the busy rail tracks, one could her the trains but just barely. Breakfast was well presented and attended with several hot and cold choices. A very spacious room for breakfast.

Saw the pony out front and pulled in late at night with a moving truck after I had checked out a couple other hotels -- so glad I stayed. The staff was lovely, the room very clean and the breakfast unbeatable.

We were greeted with friendly faces from the staff, even the gentlemen salting the sidewalks. We felt welcome from the time we checked in until we checked out. Breakfast was fresh and the dining area was spacious and clean. My daughter has a dairy allergy and she even had a few options for fresh food, which is unusual, but delightful.

Our stay at this BW location was originally booked for 2 nights. We ended up extending it to 4 nights. Would have stayed longer if not for the forecasted snow storm. The staff all went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable stay.

While on a road trip recently, we stayed at the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites. We treated ourselves to a suite which was reasonably priced and very roomy. This type of room would make a great choice for a family traveling. With a sofa bed, two bathrooms and a refrigerator, a multi-day stay here is very comfortable. Each of the hotel staff we interacted with were very helpful and kind. The complimentary breakfast was very complete. We wish we couldn't stay another night to enjoy more of the facilities and things to do in the Flagstaff area.

We arrived at the BW Pony Soldier Inn in the middle of a massive storm. It was very pleasant to be greeted by a friendly front desk staff after the the drive from Hell. The room was spacious and comfortable. They were not surprised that we had dogs, a fact that often gets lost in the reservation process. Lots of parking. Very quiet!!!

It was a long drive from Vegas and we got in late to a frosty Flagstaff. I was really looking forward to a quiey, relaxing and comfortable room. The room we got was meh at best. The hotel was quite noisy and smelly. We could hear the neighbours upstairs run around like they have 500 kids, people talking in the hallway, and trains kept on running all night right across the street from the hotel. Also, there was a constant stale cigarette smoke that we couldn't find the source - it must be embedded in the worn carpets or curtains. The bathroom was kinda goofy with the divided glass barn door that had to be opened or closed a certain way. The hallway lights were so bright and seeped under our door that I had to put the little blanket on the end of the bed across the bottom of the door. At least the beds were not saggy so that's what saved this review from a 1-star. The next day, we skipped the breakfast because we had to cross the parking lot and it snowed 1 inch the might before. Very disappointed...

This hotel was awesome. From the time you arrive in the lobby to the time you check out, the employees are so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is well maintained and the breakfast cannot be beat. We will be staying here whenever we stop in Flagstaff in the future.

The staff at Pony Soldier was as helpful as could be, and very welcoming. Our only complaint about the stay was the mattress in our room having seen better days. Solid hot breakfast in the morning, and the breakfast room is quite lovely and in keeping with the mountain retreat feel. The lobby has big US and world maps where guests have pinned their homes, which is a fun touch that contributes to the feeling that the staff is interested in you and glad to have you.

The room decor and set up were equal to the price we paid. The sheets had a musty with a bad animal smell. It was not overwhelming but noticable when walking in the room and going to bed. It was nice shampoo and conditioner right in the shower, but they dont work well. The body wash didn't work at all.

excellent hotel - clean, quiet, very affordable - ask for a room upstairs in the back of the hotel so you're away from the train noise across the street, I didn't hear the trains at all in room 238 - have stayed at multiple hotels in flagstaff (there are slightly cheaper ones, but they're depressing and loud), this is my new go to hotel for sure

I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Pony Soldier. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was wonderful. There was something for everyone on the breakfast buffet. I look forward to using the indoor pool and spa on my next visit..

It appears to be an older building and doesn't have good curb appeal. The room was fine but we heard a lot of noise. The walls apparently don't have enough sound deadening because we could hear people talking in the hall. Traffic and train noise too but that wasn't too bad. The people talking in the hallway and noises from the adjoining rooms was just more than I can handle. Good breakfast in nice facility across the driveway from the main building.

I was specifically staying here because I'm a Best Western Member and only needed a place to stay for the night. Now, my wife made the reservation for me while I was driving (hands free) and I had my room reserved immediately for the same night. Upon arrival, the Front desk employee was friendly, processed me in and directed me to my room. For the price the room was plenty big enough and if I weren't just sleeping I'd likely come back and try their breakfast and explore Flagstaff for a bit. But military duty calls and I had to be in Northern California the next day so I was out of there by 0530. The room was quiet, I had plenty of space for my visit and the room was comfortable

Convenient to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. The front desk staff was quite helpful and the breakfast was good. Be sure to take time to visit Meteor Crater which is only 32 miles to the east on I-40.

What a wonderful hotel! Easy access to downtown Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. The staff was absolutely amazing. Everyone we encountered was friendly, gracious, polite, and informative. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Flagstaff!

Christmas Eve and we had reservations at a hotel that was absolutely unacceptable. Stopped here in the hopes they had a pet-friendly room available. Not only were they able to accommodate us, they gave us a great rate! Staff were super friendly, breakfast options were the best of our 10-day trip.

The rooms not really roomy, but are clean and comfortable and did the trick for our one night stay. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Uber or cab-able to downtown. The train tracks are right across the street, so light sleepers might want to look elsewhere. The complimentary breakfast, served in a separate building, is pretty standard but very well kept up by the staff. Enjoyable stay!

This is centrally located in Flagstaff and was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had booked 3 rooms and had called ahead of time to request for adjoining rooms. They were kind to accommodate our request. The breakfast was very nice and overall it was a very good experience.

This place is a nice little fine. It is just minutes from Downtown Flagstaff. The rooms were very roomy and the beds were comfortable. I love that the room I was in had two different bathrooms. We went there to do the North Pole Experience and the price was so much more reasonable then the other hotels I looked at.

Very clean and comfortable hotel with accommodating and friendly staff. Breakfast in the morning was much appreciated. Fast internet service was great and overall a very comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The staff was very friendly when we checked in. They told us we were getting a bigger room because we were rewards members. The rooms were nice and clean. Had all amenities you need, loved the shampoo conditioner dispensers instead of little bottles. And breakfast was amazing! Very clean and a ton of options.

Nice place to stay--staff very helpful. Great suite with two bathrooms! Trains were a little noisy but that is certainly not Best Western's fault. Good heating in the unit. Good internet connection-never got kicked off like in other hotels.

This is a fantastic hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Being a rewards member has it perks also. I was upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. It was wonderful. Breakfast was great. The room was great. The bed was very comfortable. I wish I was staying longer. I would definitely stay at this hotel in the future it far exceeded my expectations. This was excellent. Lovely room – very spacious. Bed comfortable. Plenty of room to put things down by the basin which was outside of the bathroom. I was allowed to keep my towels and re-use them – I really appreciate that they do not just go through the motions of being “green” but actually take notice. Breakfast is in a separate building . The breakfast room was big and well looked after by a lady who was constantly wiping and replenishing. Excellent selection including fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal plus hot cooked food and things to toast. This is definitely the best complimentary breakfast of this type that I have seen. Wifi worked very well. Heard the trains a bit but didn't find it very intrusive as was mostly drowned out by the noise from the heater.

We always check our rooms before settling in, but did not notice any bed bugs until the next morning. We woke up with bites all over, and am hoping we didn't carry any bed bugs back home with us. Overall, this was a nightmare of a stay! The friendliness of the staff and the generous breakfast options persuaded me to rate with 2 stars.

Soldier Pony Hotel was very quiet. Staff very pleasant. Went you went to the front desk they immediately came over to see what you need and took care of it immediately . The food was excellent. Lots of selections. Kitchen staff very friendly and helpful.

If you are going to Flagstaff check out this property, you will not be disappointed. Exceptional!!! Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing, you will think you are at a restaurant and not a hotel. We were so pleased.

We try to always stay at a Best Western as we know what to expect, easy access, clean room, comfy bed & delicious breakfast. The Pony Solider fits right in. Room was huge, bed comfy, clean, everything & more that we needed. We had a dog with us & the pet area is well maintained & clean, stocked with supplies, the real grass area was nice Instead of dirt. The breakfast was the best, huge variety of fresh delicious food, beverages & perfect coffee, food area was huge & clean, better kept/stocked than some restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful from checkin lady, housekeeping to the ladies cooking up the breakfast. Very refreshing! We will stay here again on our adventures to Flagstaff.

Hassle free stay with best western has become our preference when working. The staff is friendly, pool is clean and stocked with towels, beds comfortable, breakfast convenient and tasty. Along with speedy checkout.

We stayed here one night last night. We booked online for a room with one queen bed and on check-in we were upgraded to a larger room with two queen beds. Desk clerk was very nice and competent. The room was pretty nice, spacious, two beds, comfortable beds. The bathroom door was similar to a shoji screen, which was kind of interesting. The motel is close to a few restaurants that are walkable; we had dinner at one of them. The place was quiet. We didn't try the pool. The breakfast buffet was actually pretty darn good and worth the extra $10 from other nearby motels. Lots of choices. The internet worked well and and fast. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at BW Pony Soldier Inn & Suites. Great place to rest. Tremendous breakfast. Friendly staff. I highly recommend it. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The location is great so that you can get anywhere you want in Flagstaff quickly.

We were pleased with our stay at this Best Western. We were acknowledged on check in as Gold Crown members with a gift bag and upgraded room. This doesn't happen very often but was much appreciated. This is obviously an older building but has been upgraded and well maintained and clean. Very comfortable well appointed room. Breakfast room was spacious and had a good offering of items with friendly staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property. Well located with choice of restaurants nearby.

After a long car ride from Blanding (over 250 miles) we appreciated the comfort and the "amenities" of this BW Hotel very much. Above all we liked the sheltered and heated pool and the hot tub. Just perfect for relaxing. We also got an upgrade in a very nice room, spacious, clean and quiet, with two kingsize beds. Unfortunately we only booked for one night. Complimentary breakfast was just as usual at BW places, that means it was good! For dinner we went to the nearby Mamma Luisa restaurant (at walking distance).We liked the pasta very much.

We have been staying at this hotel for a few years now, once a month. It is clean and the people are friendly. We will continue to stay there whenever we go to Flagstaff. We have tried lots of other hotels in the area, but this is the one we prefer.

This hotel was very nice and convenient to a lot of things to do. The rooms were nice and the beds very comfortable. It was a very quiet hotel and the breakfast was more than we thought it was going to be. We will be back one day!

Although we had reserved a two queen bed room we were offered an upgrade to a king suite which was fabulous. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of room to move around. The room included a desk, couch, chairs and two televisions. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of morning fare. An elevator is available for second floor access. We were located on the west side of the building which blocked most of the noise from the rail yard, although we could hear it a bit. At least the trains didn't blow their horns as they transited the yards. All in all a great overnight experience.

Spent one night here while traveling across the country. The place was full but we had no problem with parking. Would stay here again if traveling through Flagstaff. Arrived after dark so we didn't explore the property.

I would not stay here again. This is an older property that is worn and very dated. Our room was cramped, the sheets were thin and stained, and the mattress was lumpy. There are no public restrooms in the lobby! The "indoor pool" is across the dark parking lot and was not inviting at all. The breakfast room is also across the parking lot. The positive news: the hotel was recently painted and the wide screen TV was new. We felt like we paid way too much money for what we got at this hotel.

When on the road or for business, my wife and I stay quite often at Best Western properties. This one had good and bad points. The room was quite small but clean and appeared to have been recently updated. The same in the bathroom; barely room for one person to do do anything, let alone two. The toilet looked like it was built for a midget. I was almost afraid to use it in fear of not being able to get back up. We learned a long time ago to include earplugs in our packing list and they came in very handy when we realized that busy train tracks were right across the street. The staff that we met or dealt with were all very pleasant, helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was in a large building across the parking lot and was above par, with a large eating area and a a good variety of breakfast fare. The cooked food was actually quite tasty for these types of breakfasts. If you don't expect too much and are on a budget, this place would probably be ok.

Was pleasantly suprised by this hotel. We made a last minute reservation after a trip to the Grand Canyon. Hotel is on historic route 66. It is an older hotel that has been updated with modern decor.Room was smaller than other hotel rooms but very clean with all the amenities you would expect. Breakfast had a lot of options.

We booked a King room & were upgraded to a suite on the second floor. It had 2 sleeping areas -one with king bed & other with pullout couch. There was no divider between the 2 areas but what is nice for those who need a suite is that it had 2 bathrooms. The room was very clean and quiet since it was near the back of the hotel. The breakfast area is very spacious and the food itself was pretty good. I usually don't use waffle makers in hotels but out of curiosity used the pancake maker. Pancakes were good & hot. Kudos to the breakfast staff who were always replenishing the food and making sure tables were cleaned. We also appreciated the coffee & hot chocolate service that was in the lobby. If you don't want to drive to go out to dinner there is an Italian restaurant - Mama Luisa- that is walkable. (make a right out of hotel and right at light It is in strip mall).

We stayed 1 night in the family suite. It was so worth the extra money! We're a family of 4 but this room had beds to easily sleep 6. 2 separate sleeping rooms & 2 tv's. It is at the front of the building so there was a lot of train noise all night and a few sirens. Mild annoyance for us but if you are a light sleeper you'll want to ask for a room further back on the property. Only difficulty for this room is it only has 1 small bathroom. Not a real problem but something to be aware of & plan for. Pool is skinny but long enough. It's enclosed which helps for temperature. This was one of the few hotel pools I've been in that was actually warm. Hot tub was nice too. They have the biggest breakfast room I've ever seen. And the staff were working constantly to make sure everything was fresh & well stocked. I'd definitely stay here again in the future.

This is a pretty typical Best Western. Nothing exceptional about it, but it was a decent and comfortable place to stay for one night. Our room seemed noisy, though - we could hear the people next door and people in the hallway. Compared to other Best Westerns the price seemed high, but that's probably because of prices in the area. The breakfast facility is fairly large and nice. Parking is odd - both entrances seem like they are one-way going in, and it feels like you're going the wrong way when exiting.
