"End of the season visit"

3
18/03/2018

The hotel was clean and I had a reasonable view from my room but it seemed a little run down - this may have been because it was the end of the season. Basic toiletries, and I wasn't very impressed with the food available for a vegetarian. Nice choice of cakes at breakfast but little fruit. The hotel is convenient for shops, including a reasonably sized supermarket. It's possible to walk into Fiuggi and the path goes alongside a park and a very busy road. It may be a pleasant walk in the sunshine but it started to get dark while I was out and I found it hard to cross the roads, even on the crossings. I nearly got knocked down on one! My main problem while at the hotel was not being able to get wifi in my room (quite a few of my party had this problem). There is seating outside the rooms and I had to sit there the first night but the second even that did not work and I had to sit in the lounge.

"Italian Spa"

This hotel sits at the bottom of the beautiful spa town of Fiuggi, between Rome and Napoli. Fiuggi itself is just beautiful both day and night. The hotel has a spa attached which is pretty good and free for all guests. It has a large spa pool with various water jets, plus steam rooms and saunas. Treatments are available. I had a manicure and pedicure which were average. Very small choice of colours, which you couldn't purchase, and no top coat. I'm sure this hotel is a much better experience for Italian speakers, which unfortunately I am not. There is no one who speaks English, and only Italian menus for food and treatments, making it hard to order anything. I was in Italy so maybe that's understandable but below the level expected for a top class international hotel. I definitely would have used more if I could have ordered them. The rooms have no temperature control and were very hot. There are no tea / coffee facilities unless you request them daily. I had two items added to my bill that were not mine, and a colleague had different room rates for different nights, although there was an agreed room rate. I suggest careful checking is essential.

"Chaotic restaurant"

Our 3 night stay in this hotel was situated a short walk up to the town centre. A supermarket was also nearby. The room was tired looking with an uncomfortable bed.Dinner was served with what appeared to be inexperienced staff. We did not use the spa facilities. Plenty of parking. Sometimes a wait for the lift. Quiet area to sit by the pool. Lounge/bar area served by infrequent staff.

"Very nice and relaxed"

The hotel is very clean and tidy, very southern Italy wood or stone floors. Spa is beautiful, food is good from a limited choice set menu. Breakfast has a great selection. The swimming pool and outside area looks splendid but I did not use them.

"Average"

I expected a little more "glamour" from a spa hotel. Overall, the furniture and decoration was "old style", the rooms were small and the dining room was "zero good ambiance". I mean, eating there was kind of awkward since all the lights were on (like flash lights) the room was quite empty, and practically there were only the tables with not even a plastic flower on it. The spa was OK but not fancy at all. I wouldn't recommend it for a couple trying to have a romantic holiday.

"Tranquility "

We got a triple room (large double and 1 single) with spa access for one night here - I found it to be great value for what we got. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful along with the panoramic views. It's only a 4 minute drive from the lively town of Fiuggi itself. The spa is amazing; thermal pool, sauna, steam room, etc etc etc. Definitely would recommend this hotel, either for friends, families or couples!

"Good Hotel"

Fiuggi is a small town up in the mountains that is supposed to have really good drinking water. I have been to Fiuggi a million times, in fact I stayed there for almost a year a decade back. Anyway, I returned this time with family, and decided to stay at this hotel as I have stayed here innumerable times before and know of the quality. It is just as good as earlier. The minestrone soup in the restaurant by the lobby is still just as good. The quality of the lawns/gardens outside the hotel give so much space to customers to just relax. I love visiting this place very much. Fantastic value for money! My wife and I both loved our stay very much and will happily recommend this to our friends.

"Average Hotel with good staff"

Stayed only 1 night hence this review wouldn't do justice. I didn't get chance to use the Spa. Hotel room was average. I find carpet floor weird in the rooms and this hotel rooms has it. Average breakfast buffet. Staff is very kind and helpful. Our check in was at midnight but the receptionist was there to check us in. Hotel is surrounded by magnificent scenery.

"Excellent facilities, delicious restaurant, ideal service."

Vintage hotel in a beautiful setting and gorgeous scenery. It comes with a proper 25m outdoor pool, tennis courts, mini Gym and a truly elaborate restaurant with delicious options and different menu every night (that's how serious it is). The service is professional, courteous and considerate. The room is big enough, with a vintage style and albeit having a very small TV, it is overall excellent. Hard bed (good for me) and good cleanliness all-round. Wifi resets itself which is annoying, but I still recommend this hotel!

"Ok room, but not great service"

Booked this hotel for a business trip, but later discovered we had a better corporate rate. We could not get the staff, however to change the rate. The accommodations/breakfast were ok, but certainly not a value at the rates they charge.

"Decent choice."

I stayed there for one week with a co-worker for business reasons. Despite our late arrival, the receptionist was well awake and check-in was pretty fast. We both got a similar room - at different floors. However, for some reasons I was charged 40% more than my colleague for -again- exactly the same room. I never got any explanation as to why; and had to pay, even if the price was all in all reasonable. So, do pay attention when booking and get the rate confirmed at check-in! Anyway... My room was particularly spacious with a nice but uncomfortable king bed due to a very hard mattress -some like it though-. Limited channel choice on TV. The bathroom was acceptable with the exception of an uncontrolled regulation of water temperature, which constantly fluctuated between cold and very hot, and did irritate me. The breakfast buffet that came with the room was decent, but do not expect to eat tasty bread. Good restaurant, whith nice wines. Overall, a decent choice in Fiuggi.

"Excellent place to stay in Fiuggi Terme, if you can find it....."

Had a lot of trouble finding the place because it's located in the town of FIUGGI TERME, not the town of Fiuggi as the address stated (they're 2 different towns next to each other.) We came in by the back way and did not use the directions posted on their web site. If we'd come from that direction, it would've been easier to find. Once we finally found the place, it was a very nice stay. Extremely roomy rooms, plenty of light, front desk was superior, room was very clean with a very nice view, even tho a room with view was not requested. Internet access is free to hotel guests any time of day or night. This is the finest Best Western property we've ever stayed, and it definitely takes it up a few notches over the typical Best Westerns in the U.S. We used it as a base of operations for sightseeing within a 50 miles radius and probably should've stayed longer to enjoy the thermal baths in the area. Lunch & dinner food & wine selections in their restaurant are fairly good, but not as good as I would've expected from the way the hotel looked and was run; however, the breakfast buffet that comes with the room is excellent and better than any other place we stayed during our 24 day trip thru Italy. When passing thru this region of Italy, we'd definitely stay here again.
