Best Western Plus Fergus Hotel

The hotel was clean and well appointed but the highlight was how friendly and welcoming the entire staff was. Just a pleasure to spend a couple of days there and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who are looking for accommodation in the area

Nice hotel in a very nice little town. Perfect location for shopping at Walmart, and lots of options for dining Dairy Queen, Tim Hortons, Burger King and LCBO. Spacious parking lot with clean parking.

The website description states this is a brand new 3 diamond hotel which insinuates this is a very nice hotel. I would say it is average. There is nothing special about this hotel. It is clean and comfy but furniture is already showing wear. The ottoman for example has all kinds of little tears in it. The front desk staff are average as well. Not rude but not pleasant either. This is more like a Best Western not a Best Western Plus. Nothing special or above average to make this a Plus hotel.

Nice clean rooms. Very nice attentive staff. Clean rooms and common areas. Very good breakfast options with a great coffee machine, one minute pancake cooker and waffle maker. Room rates are a bit steep. A little weird getting to the hotel through either a gas station or fast food drive through laneway.

The price is extremely high for a mediocre motel. I would expect real plates and cutlery for the breakfast, not paper plates, and cups, and wooden forks and knives. Extremely small bathroom, and if you don't have a cell phone, bring a copy of satellite channel guide, also the converter has closed captioning, but it did not work, so my 94 year old mother who uses that all the time, was not able to really watch tv and be able to know what they were say8ng

Everything was great at this hotel, rooms are specious and super clean and friendly staff made me feel welcome. I enjoyed complimentary breakfast meal too. There is convenience store at walking distance as well.

Large, comfortable rooms. Amazing pillows provided. Great breakfast provided too. Easy access to rooms, breakfast area. Staff willing and available to assist. Convenient location with a few options for dining within walking distance.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Quiet, small hotel with polite staff… but the breakfast was just ok. Missing staple items that are typically found in a hotel breakfast. No bagels, no bacon, no oatmeal and coffee machine was broken. There is a Tim Hortons in the parking lot so all was not lost.

Stayed here while visiting family. Pleased with the room, but maybe time for an update on linens. They seemed to be a little grey looking. A few more towels in the rooms would be good. I love the breakfast….waffles are my favorite.

This hotel was the worst experience we ever had. From giving away rooms to changed the room fees. It made my daughter's wedding day a nightmare . All our guests were upset. Also when you call to address issues the front desk will hang up on you . Rude and horrible to deal with.

Came for a wedding at a nearby venue. This hotel was conveniently located; friendly and helpful staff; clean hotel with close parking. Quiet rooms. Breakfast included - reasonable selection. Internet access needs an upgrade.

I have stayed at Best Western Plus previously and always enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately my recent stay in Ferguson did not live up to standards expected the rooms carpet was disgusting dirty with large at least 3' diameter stains in central area that smelled I was rushed to attend a wedding ceremony so had no choice but to stay if I wasn't in a rush to attend a wedding I would have stayed elsewhere I do not understand how this wasn't flagged by housekeeping or other staff as this room should not be offered until carpet is replaced so gross I felt like I was staying at a cheap motel

Quick check in, rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast provided in morning included hot and cold selection. Tim Hortons in same parking lot as well. Transit options in the area limited if without own vehicle. Some issues with the tvs in each room, connectivity/remote/setup. Overall it was comfortable for the weekend, although I feel it was overpriced for what is provided.

The staff was excellent. Very easy check-in and check-out. Friendly and efficient. Room was excellent. Clean devoid of scents, perfumes or cleaning chemicals. Heat/AC control was the best I've even seen in a hotel. Very accurate on temperature. Room was fresh even when shower was steamy. The Breakfast was surprisingly good. Food was fresh, love the waffles. Coffee while strong was palatable. We had a great stay at this Central-West Ontario location. Less than 15 minutes to Elora and just a bit further to St. Jacobs. Very reasonable rates. Highly Recommended.

We booked a room for one night to attend a wedding. Our room was a King Bed room on the main floor. It was very clean, large and spacious. The shuttle took us from the hotel to the mill right on time. The staff were very professional and pleasant. Morning breakfast exceeded my usual experiences, the hot food trays were well stocked, a good selction of hot and cold items, and the coffee machine gave options and tasty cups of java. Overall a good experience.

Thank you for the empty apology but there is no logic behind your arguments. Yes, thank you for bringing this up, we are proud to work with other Best Western locations and have never had any issues with any until Furgus. Regarding the cost of the room, you have no right to judge what is, or isn't expensive for someone based on their circumstances, and we are extremely grateful for the employee rates that allow us to travel for work, but this does not negate the fact that our money is valuable and this location is refusing to return it. Your refusal to honour a refund that was offered to other guests for that evening, is absurd and extremely disrespectful. This is how you treat your employees? Good to know, will never be working for your location. Put yourselves in our shoes, it's Christmas Eve, we tried to get to the hotel but couldn't make it because the police closed the highway leading to it.   Shortly after booking when we TRIED to cancel, the desk clerk told us that we could not get a refund because the policy is within 24 hours. So based on this fact, we held onto the room since we were paying for it anyway, we thought, might as well keep it in case the OPP does open the road to the hotel, and if they don't open the road, we'll at least have a leg to stand on for submitting a dispute for a refund because we were physically unable to get there in time due to circumstances out of our control. But then! When we tried to dispute the issue, you changed your tune! You are now telling us you offered us free cancellation because you offered free cancellation to other guests that night due to the storm. But I repeat: We were NEVER offered free cancellation.   I PLEADED with the desk clerk on multiple phone calls to see if they could do anything for us, and each time I was told it was within 24 hours so we wouldn't get our money back - NOT ONCE were we offered free cancellation like the other guests that evening. Does this seem fair to you? We were employees and we even asked if we could use the money toward another stay!  But even that wasn't an option. The ONLY thing they offered us after speaking with management was to possibly move our booking the following day (still PAYING for it, but we'd lose that first night, (24th) so we declined THIS offer based on the fact that we were paying for the room either way, and kept it in hopes that the police would open the road that night. Then when they didn't open it, I tried once again at 11pm to see if there was any updates on free cancellation based on these very unusual circumstances, but the clerk NOW denied ever having offering us to move the date and said that it was now too late to cancel. An outright LIE. Now you are refusing to refund based on the fact that we kept a room that we were never offered free cancellation for. Let me ask you - would you cancel a room you were paying for? Again, they never offered us free cancellation to give up the room. Huge disappointment, and even if, after all this, it was indeed a miscommunication - then why not acknowledge that fact and treat a fellow BW employee with respect and acknowledge our truth? Instead you are COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that we TRIED TO CANCEL and WOULD HAVE IF we were offered free cancellation like everyone else. But instead, you publicly boast the fact that we had employee discount on my husband's honest review of our story and you make a snap judgement about us financially instead of taking into consideration what we consider affordable. Instead of owning and recognizing mistakes were made, miscommunications happened, and an employee who supposedly offered us free cancellation, did not communicate it effectively enough resulting in a room that never got cancelled that COULD HAVE BEEN. You now decide our truth is worthless and instead are throwing your hands up like you've done nothing wrong. Extremely unprofessional and again, just disappointing. Will never return to this location. Highly recommend any other Best Western Hotels. -L

My wife and I were heading home from work on Dec 23rd from the Innisfil area to Windsor, the night of the big winter storm that hit. We tried to avoid the highways due to the increasing number of accidents on them but realized that we would need to find a hotel for the night, as it wasn't safe to keep driving. We ended up being stranded on a street with impassable snow banks and waited that night in our car until a snow plow could come by. The next day, Dec 24th, at around 4pm, a snowplow was finally able to come by. We called the Fergus hotel to book a room and slowly made our way there following the snow plow to the 109 highway which intersects with Highway 6 in Arthur, just 20min north from Fergus. There we topped off our gas and got supplies at the gas station on the corner. It was there taht we were informed that due to worsening conditions and accidents on Highway 6, both the 109 and 6 were closed by order of the OPP, essentially stranding us at the gas station. We called the Fergus hotel back, roughly 1.5 hours after the initial booking to see if we could cancel the room due to it being impossible to get there as the OPP had closed the roads. We were told on the phone by the person working on the front desk that as the booking was within 24hrs we could not cancel the room (no refund options were given). We then decided to keep the room, on the basis that we were paying for it anyways and even asked if we could call later to see if instead we could move the booking to the next day (Dec 25th) as we knew we would be at the gas station that night, but might have to stay in the area again if the weather was still bad on the 25th. They said that was possible. After a few hours stuck at the gas station, and the weather not improving, we called to ask if we could move the hotel booking to the next night. The person on the phone at the desk said, “thats not possible and I never said that was an option.' So there we were, night 2 sleeping in our car, while paying for a room that we weren't allowed to get a refund for. After the holidays, we called the Best Western Fergus to see if there was anything that could be done about the hotel stay, due to the weather and the OPP closing the road being out of our control. Maybe we could even use that booking for a future booking at that location? Their response was that they offered everyone that night a refund and that because we kept the room they could not give us one. I would like to restate from earlier in my review, that we were told that since the booking was within 24 hours, we could not get a refund. We were never offered a refund at any point in our dealings with the Fergus location. After multiple email and phone calls, they are refusing to acknowledge that fact and keeping, or essentially stealing our money, and their rooms aren't cheap either. The person we are dealing with on the phone is not the same person that we booked with on the night of the 24th. That initial employee is falsifying their records of the events and their manager is siding with them. Had we been given the option to cancel on the initial call like we asked, we would have taken it, but they never gave us that option. The customer service, compassion at listening skills that seems to be at the Fergus hotel are extraordinarily low for a major chain like the Best Western. My wife and I stay at Best Westerns all over Southern Ontario and will continue to do so, however we can't suggest enough to avoid this particular location. If you need to stay in the area, there is a Best Western in Guelph 20 min away and well worth the drive. You'd even have more luck staying at the gas station at the corner of 6 and 109 in Arthur, with a 24 hour store, washrooms Tim Hortons and a gas station for when you continue your travels. Just don't waste your time here.

Easy to find. Was a quick and friendly check in. Our room was very spacious and our sleep was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast included was good with lots to choose from. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

The hotel was clean good breakfast. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful with everything we needed or asked for. Breakfast both days was fresh, hot and the dining area always tidy. Attendant was curious, actually I would say all staff were awesome.

We had a one night stay in October 2022. 2 adults and 2 children. Clean, friendly staff, breakfast included. What more could you want? I really liked the pillows. I would stay again if I needed to be in that area for some reason.

Very welcoming atmosphere. Friendly people at the reception desk. Room was extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable. Only negative was that I had trouble working the TV. Breakfast area, again, very clean and attendant friendly and helpful.

I had a wonderful comfortable stay at this best Western. The staff was excellent providing me with quality service. The room was very clean and I had a comfortable sleep. I'm already pre-booked for my next 2 visit to the city & I will not stay anywhere else but this Hotel

Contrary to many of the reviews here, this Best Western Plus is a fine hotel for the area. A family owned hotel and the whole family is involved with its operation. They are very courteous, attentive and welcoming. We asked for additional days and they readily accommodated us. The rooms are very nice and clean. The hotel is well maintained and the breakfasts are very good for the price. We highly recommend this location and with our family in the area we will be making this Best Western our home when we visit them.

Will keep this short but hotel is newer and nice. However their business practices are deceptive, maybe even fraudulent We stayed there as part of a wedding block. The rate was supposed to be $145/night but we're charged $189/night. What I was told was that because we booked online, we had to pay a higher rate and the lower rate was only offered if you called in the reservation . What ?? I mean really ? First of all, it was not clear about this requirement when the notice came out. Secondly there was an online link offered to book this room. And third and most importantly, who books by calling the hotel anymore. Don't be fooled if you decide to stay here.

I found everything very clean at this location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was standard buffet fair but again the area was really clean and well maintained which fir me is most important.

The front desk staff (2 women & 1 man, I think 1 female was the manager) were horrendous. The 1 female, who I think is the manager, was awful with our party & I witnessed the male being awful with another guest on check-out, not returning their cash deposit because friends that lived nearby had visited them in the hotel (not stayed with them). I had emailed the hotel before saying we'd be quite early. There were 3 cars in the parking lot when we arrived, no one in the breakfast room, no one in the lobby. They told us all rooms were occupied so we couldn't check-in early. It is a very small town without transit links, so unless there were hundreds piled into each clown car, she was 100% lying. Unbeknownst of this conversation, my friend arrived half an hour later, and the other lady said to come back at 11:30 to check-in. We went back after that time and the first lady I'd spoken to said there was still not one room, but if we wanted the room 1 hour early, we'd have to pay extra as they'd have to call the cleaning staff in early as they weren't there (PS their Cleaning cart was in the hallway the next morning at 9). Then when the 4 of us did return together to check-in, hours and hours later, the one I think I'd spoken to, the one to tell me the lies earlier, said very rudely that they would be charging me extra for an extra 2 people in the room, assuming we hadn't booked for 4...we had booked for 4, she just was ignorant and hadn't bothered to look. We've stayed there a few times as it's a central meeting point for 4 of us old friends who live far apart to meet up once or twice a year. The room wasn't particularly clean...there was some sticky red thing, like food, on the bathroom wall. As there's now covid + monkeypox (which can survive on improperly cleaned linens and surfaces for days), it didn't make us feel safe. We had dinghy towels enough for 2, not 4. The breakfast was inedible (2 of us looked at the "egg patties", etc, and ate not one morsel). We will not be staying there again.

NOT RECOMMENDED Girls Getaway. My sister and I stayed at the hotel 04-07 July 2022; check out was 07 July 2022. On the evening of 05 July 2022 at approx. 7:35 pm we went across to Walmart and were back in our room 10-12 minutes later. While we were gone for this very short time, someone gained unauthorized entry to our room. Upon arriving back to our room, on the desk was a pair of men's glasses that did not belong to myself or my sister. We took the glasses to the front desk and complained. Actually identified a guy when we departed our room because he came around the corner and was right behind my sister. Hotel staff checked the camera and said he was going to contact the Manager and explain the situation. Employee spoke with the Manager and she did a further check of the cameras. We were told cameras saw my sister and I leave our room and when we came back. But did not see anyone else. Employee even told us what time we left the room and what time we came back. Employee did move us to a new room. On 06 & 07 July 2022, I asked at the desk if someone came to ask if the Employee(s) found any glasses. The answer was no and apparently the glasses were still at the front desk. Either hotel staff were involved or this guy who went into our room had someone watching the parking lot to see when we drove back into the parking lot. It appears, whoever was involved did not expect us to be back so quickly. Therefore, he forgot to pick up his glasses. Nothing was taken, nothing out of place! Therefore, I believe this perpetrator was up to no good-----camera, listening device, etc. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GIRLS' GETAWAY!!!

We stayed here for a few nights in June 2022. Very welcoming staff, clean environment, and included breakfast was decent (our kid was mostly happy the waffle maker was working!). The facility requires a renovation/update and there were unfortunate odors in the building vestibule and in certain areas but otherwise, everything was decent.

We stayed to attend a family wedding. This was the perfect location and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was an added bonus. I would highly recommend for anyone traveling in this area.

Great location walking distance to lovely town, shuttles available to Elora. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very appealing breakfast available with great selection and very reasonable price highly recommend

The hallways smell horrible, but the price was decent in comparison and it's pretty close to Elora so you can get where you need to go pretty quickly. The staff was decently pleasant, although there were absences at the front desk at certain times, so if you needed something you were out of luck.

First, I must point out that the photo of this hotel lobby can be misleading. The "Lobby" area is actually very small. In my opinion, the counter area can only fit three people before they will interfere with each other. This is a two-story hotel. When I walked in my room, I noticed immediately that the carpet showed its age and some patterns were worn out . I couldn't tell if it was clean because the colour was a bit dull. The shower didn't generate the full strength because the faucet couldn't be switched over completely. And the soap was strange because I just couldn't wash off the greasy feeling after I used it. Based on the general hotel condition and my stay, I think the price was a bit inflated. I stayed at Sheraton Fallsview in Niagara Falls recently. The charge for a very good room on the high floor was similar to what I paid for a small room at this hotel. One tip I would like to offer for travelers who will stay at this hotel is that South facing rooms on the second floor could have views blocked by the top/roof of the front entrance. You can still open the window but won't see anything.

I would not recommend Best Western to anyone. We were booked to go to a wedding. My wife fell sick so we did the responsible thing and didn't go. We cancelled the day before but they would not refund the $239 because it was at 20 hours and not the 24+ hour period.

Our room was spotless; bathroom was clean; everything worked well. The breakfast area is well maintained; food selection was good. Room rates are pricey for a BW+. All staff that we encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional.

This is our second stay at this hotel. Front desk very friendly and competent. Breakfast good. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel is very quiet so no doors banging even though one night the hotel was full. Would stay there again.

WORST customer service experience ever from the hotel and from the Customer Relations department. I cancelled my reservations within the free cancellation period, I have confirmation emails and the phone recording indicating this and they have yet to acknowledge their error or reverse the charge. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!

the most important for me went i travel is that the place have be clean and is was a very clean hotel. and the coffe was very good to start my days and that was the case that was a good coffee and , it a plus. And the express buffet have a good with a good variety of food, fruit yogurt egg sausage and juice bagel toast ect

Very nice hotel and staff, breakfast was so good with so many items, i never saw so many items in any of the hotel in my life. Cleaning was also good. Only the outer appearance is not good but I came to know that due to construction this was like that.

The rooms were spacious and excellent to stay in. The staff were helpful with all questions asked, and helped us immensely by giving us tips to explore the town of Fergus. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Booked this hotel for a wedding I was attending, and would not recommend at all! The toilet clogged from just pee! The shower would not drain, like have a dirty bath. The front reception were not helpful when asked for items like soap. There were people drunk crying in the halls all hours of the night and front desk would do nothing. I will never stay here again, very disappoint for a night away without the kids!!!

Our daughter's wedding was in Elora, and many of our wedding guests booked a stay here. It is a quick, easy ride into Elora. The rooms were large and clean, and the staff was very accommodating with the reservation process. They did their best to have as many rooms ready for early check-in as they could, so our guests could check in prior to the wedding. Overall, everyone was very happy with the hotel stay. Thank You!!

Our stay at the Fergus Best Western was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and fresh. We stayed for a two night visit for a wedding to explore the town of Fergus and Elora. Both towns were beautiful an so worth this visit. I have told many friends about the experience already and that they really need to visit here.

This staff was exceptional in helping us to arrange transportation. We are very grateful for their assistance. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very close to Elora which is a lovely town to visit!

2 wedding parties also booked in. Guys playing guitar until 4:00am. Security non-existent. Had to shove pillows under the doors. Got 2 hours sleep. Elevator was broken and had to hump luggage up and down two flights of stairs. Breakfast was fine.

It was very nice. Family oriented and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. I would definitely stay with them again. It was walking distance for shopping. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the spa.

I reserved two rooms for a wedding, one room was for my son. After 1:00am a lady walked into his room, she had been given a key by the front desk. When she told the front desk that there was already someone in that room, the front desk called my son twice rudely demanding that he leave! No explanation was given to my son. The lady that was wrongly given a key was left stranded, with no room. The man working at front desk, said he did not know anything and that we should come back in morning. No concern was given for the lady that had no room. No apology was given for his behavior to my son. We went to front desk in morning and spoke to Sanjiev (sp?) and was given a big run around. I was told it was human error, and that he would speak to owner (we later found out that he was actually the owner) and provide a "handsome discount" and promised that he would call later that day. He ran out of the hotel, leaving us standing at front desk. He did not call later, so we called him, he assured us that he would email us an amended invoice, which we have never received. We have called numerous times, to be told by one person that he wasn't working that day, only to call back and be told by another person that he had left for the day. He has avoided us even though we have left several messages for him to call us. I find his behavior shocking and he has absolutely zero customer service skills. He did say that we should be happy as he did not charge the lady?? Seriously? She never got a room, so why would you ever charge her? I have contacted head office as I want to make sure they know about this as, the hotel never acknowledged the seriousness of their mistake. Another note, they were kicking my son out of his room to allow lady to stay in room, with no cleaning staff present. I am positive that is not following COVID protocol.

Checked in after a wedding. Went to enter my room and there was a man in this room already. This is incredibly unsafe and could have gone very wrong. As a woman, you want to feel safe and secure visiting a hotel. The Staff were unapologetic and said there was nothing they could do for me. Would not put me in another hotel. Said they had no more rooms to put me in. Very unsafe for a young woman at 1 in the morning.

It was very nice to be in a clean fresh newly decorated hotel . The room was extremely comfortable and I was very happy I felt safe and secure ! Staff was very accommodating and pleasant . I will definitely go again .

Super staff, very clean and cheery room. Appreciated the fridge and microwave. Very nice bathroom. Really good experience from start to finish. An upgrade to the in-room coffee would make it just perfect!

My husband and I went ice fishing outside of fergus and decided to stay a night close to the lake so we could go again fishing again in the morning. Our over all experience at the hotel was good. It's a nice clean hotel. We use best western almost every time we stay alway. My only issue is we used a cc to hold our room but we're paying cash. I know every hotel has different policy's for damage deposits. However I didn't enjoy that it changed from $150 to 500 for the night. We were 2 adults in mid 30s.

Comfortable stay following my daughter's wedding in Elora. The room was clean and the beds provided comfortable sleep. We woke at 9:00 so we were unable experience breakfast at the facility. The hotel was close enough to provide a 5-10 minute drive to Elora Mill in Elora.

This BW was very clean and most of the staff were friendly. The individual who checked me in was not super friendly but all of the other staff were great. My hotel room was nice and clean upon arrival and seemed as though it had not been stayed in in a while, which I liked. The location is really good close to a Wal-Mart and LCBO along with a few other grocery stores and such. The only bad thing I have to say about this stay is the grab and go breakfast. With dietary restrictions it is usually hard enough for me to eat at the hotels and at fast food restaurants but most of the hotels during COVID-19 have been offering eggs either hard boiled or wraps or something. This hotel unfortunately just had a bag with a fruit, a baked good and a water and you could grab a yogurt from the fridge. Unfortunately I am not able to eat any of those things so it was only useful to me for the water. I just wish they had more options for breakfast as I have seen at some other hotels!

As we approached the BW, we were a little apprehensive based on the parking lot, needed attention. Once inside, changed our minds, the lobby was clean, our room was spotless. We were a little worried due to COVID about touching things. Nice quiet room also.

I don't leave town for work. Don't need to. But when a client asks me to do some Reno's on a cottage out of town because they trust us and our work, plus we treat them well, I go. So we've been in Fergus a couple days a week for a few weeks now. We stayed @bestwestern in Fergus and my room was infested with bedbugs. The manager didn't even have the decency to call me till I called at 4pm the following day. He didn't think it was a big deal and thought everything would've been fine since they gave me a new room. I asked how they were going to clean the room... he said, “we have a cleaning crew going in tomorrow(Friday) to deal with it. We stayed there Tuesday night. My recommendations to anyone going to stay there, DONT!!! To add to this, the manager asked what I “wanted” from this, in a demeaning way... I said a refund would be nice , as I got no sleep that night... He hung up on me I could really care less about the refund now! Please share this with everyone you know. This is not how you run a hotel!

I truly enjoy staying at Best Western and the Fergus Hotel was no different. The staff is great, check in and out was easy, room was clean and ready and the even set up the room to be very romantic which was an awesome surprise. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a decent hotel, and it was very clean on a recent COVID-19 visit. Staff are friendly. The "to-go" breakfast (mandated by government regulation) was lame: a banana wrapped in plastic wrap (peel on) and an apple fritter from the Wal-Mart across the street. I booked through booking.com and was surprised to see that the hotel had added $150 to my two night stay. I called the front desk as soon as we saw the extra charge on our credit card, and after a short argument (they tried to blame booking.com, I threatened to leave) I was assured that the charges would be reversed, and they were eventually. The rates at this property are ridiculously high, regardless. They are the only game in town, as it turns out. I'd suggest looking at one of the many better hotels in the area.

The hotel room was big enough to sleep a family of 2 adults and 3 children with 2 double beds and 1 sofa bed. Overall, the room was clean, especially the washroom. The air conditioner unit setting made it uncomfortable to sleep all night. It came on and off too quickly so the room temperature fluctuated throughout the night. Not sure the the bedding material makeup, however it made lots of noise whever anyone rolls on the bed, making it difficult for other family members to sleep. The breakfast was underwhelming, just a brown bag with muffin, water and one fruit. We understand covid limits options, however when the hotel advertises that breakfast is provided, we expected a little bit more. Children wanted cereal which was available, however there was no milk. It will be best to say only coffee and tea is available so people can plan knowing they have to go out for breakfast. We travel all the time and this was our first time in a hotel since covid so not sure what other hotels offer for breakfast.

My wife and I recently stayed at a best western plus in Fergus Ontario to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Some wine was spilled, I thought I'd cleaned it all but some went inside the nightstand drawer. I was billed $500 for this accident. There's no other damage other than that to the inside of the drawer. I offered to pay for the repairs but was told the charges will stand. Can you please explain to me how this ethical!

Needed a place to spend the night, did not feel like driving back to Mississauga after a party Room was clean a great King bed, very nice bedding, in room bar fridge, small microwave oven. WI FI, Quiet Location. Complimentary breakfast, waffles, eggs, toast ,cereal, fruit, muffins, but best of all was the coffee maker IT MADE CAPPUCCINO,EXPRESSO, REGULAR AND ONE OR TWO OTHER TYPES Staff was very helpful giving us directions that we had requested. Walmart was within walking distance as well as a LCBO (LIQUOR STORE) WE WOULD definitely stay there again should a need arise.

We were pleased to spend two restful days in Fergus while attending our granddaughter's wedding in Elora. A good room to come to at the end of the festivity. The room was clean and comfortable - the staff was welcoming and ready to answer any of our needs. Over all, a good place to stay!

This was a return to another era of nice, clean and nothing special motels. The room was comfortable but lacked some normal features that frequent travelers are use to experiencing. The staff was very friendly, helpful and morning breakfast very good. We would certainly stay there again if we wanted a clean no frills room.

Exceeded my expectation! Clean quite room, smelled nice, impeccably clean. All the amenities you could ask for. Great breakfast selection and the internet is fast and seamless. Great location, close to the Elora Gorge for our Family function.

This is a very convenient location to stay if you are in town for a wedding at Elora Mill. A shuttle provides transportation between the Mill and hotel throughout the evening. Friendly service, clean accommodations, good complimentary breakfast.

I stayed for 3 nights with my friends and we all had limited budget and this hotel provided with good amenities and excellent service as equal to a branded 5 star property. In addition to it, food was really nice.

well kept rooms and amenities. we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. the staff was very helpful. in some hotels, wi-fi is not reliable but here in this hotel, wi-fi was also very fast and we were able to stream videos with no issues.

I had a great time at Fergus Hotel. I was pleased with the hospitality and friendliness of everyone at this hotel. I had a great, spacious, neat and clean room with comfortable bed.The continental breakfast was also very good. The hotel is located close to the shopping plaza. I enjoyed shopping at Walmart. There is a church close by too.I will definitely plan a return stay on my next visit and recommend to my family friends as well!

A beautiful and quiet hotel to relax . It was a good, clean and nice hotel. Staff is very helpful, Manjyot the front desk girl in the evening was very good, soft spoken and explained me about the local restaurant. Even she printed me the list of local restaurants.

My stay was really wonderful in this small hotel. Even in the evening, when i was unable to go out, staff helped me to give bread and fruits , I really liked the way the did.The christmas tree looks great in the lobby.

Clean, well appointed and terrific breakfast and the staff is amzing. The hotel is very clean, elevator sparkling but our room was just perfect. Enough towels, lighting was perfect, and since we were at the back of the hotel, very quiet. The staff was so helpful and friendly so this hotel is a must for your stay in Fergus.

Very clean hotel, comfortable beds, impressed with most things about this hotel, friendly, helpful staff, nice breakfast. We had stayed in quite a few hotels on our trip from the U.S and rated this as our second favourite, it would have been the best except we had stayed in a brand new hotel just before it. So that is hard to beat!

Stayed at the best western Fergus for a wedding close by; every amenitie you could need is around you walking distance from Walmart Tim Horton's gas stations liquor and beer stores all right there, beds comfortable rooms nice and clean, excellent breakfast in the morning.

Booked three months early to get a room for a family event. We happened to call a week before our arrival to to confirm check in times and were told that our credit card had expired, and our reservation would not have been guaranteed if we didn't update the card. Can't believe the hotel wouldn't at least try to call us and let us know, but that didn't happen. The hotel itself is old and dated, the carpet in our room looked like it was original, and very well worn; perhaps bring slippers along. The room had that lingering odour of old cigarette smoke, likely leftover from years prior. The bathroom was small, and there was more water flowing from the tub faucet than from the showerhead. Some of the front desk staff were pleasant. The hotel is located beside a gas station with a Tim Horton's location which is convenient. Overall, this was an average stay in an older dated hotel. There are limited choices to stay in the area, and the price was reasonable.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding group. While the first overall impression of the hotel and its hallways appears dated, the rooms were clean, the beds were really comfortable, the free breakfast was very good, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful.

Our family was in Fergus for a Celebration of Life service. Despite me making a number of changes and additional requests in the weeks leading up to the weekend, every staff member I worked with was eager to help. Their exceptional service continued while we were there, making it a stress-free stay. The rooms were clean and modern. The breakfast was of good quality and plentiful. We could not have been more satisfied with our visit.

Very friendly staff. No noise disturbances during the night which was very nice. Breakfast had tater tots, breakfast sausages and little omlettes and make yourself waffles so it was great. Price was average.

I was thankful to the staff after a long weekend at the Fergus Scottish Games. They found a room for me that fit my needs and had a very soft bed. Breakfast area was clean and had a nice variety of foods.

Rooms are worn, noisy guests next door and in hallway, breakfast was below par. However, this is the closest hotel to the Fergus Highland Games and hotel was full of families. Didn't sleep well. Friday night price was way too high for the value.

Stayed here for one night as I was attending a wedding in Elora. The hotel was clean and comfortable, pretty no frills, what I expected from a Best Western. I was in a King room, $173 all in with the loyalty member rate ($153 before taxes/fees). Room #200 had an uninspiring view of the parking lot. Bed was comfortable. Accommodation was quite spacious with a small desk, reading chair and ottoman. Bathroom was average size – basic with only wall-mounted shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers and few extras (I would avoid the body lotion unless you want to smell like lemon floor cleaner!). I believe I spied a fridge and microwave, and some basic tea/coffee supplies. Wi-fi was strong. My one complaint is that the under-window air conditioning unit was quite loud (bring earplugs!) and, while strong, I couldn't sit at the desk when the a/c was on as the blast of cold air was overwhelming. Breakfast was OK, nothing to write home about. The Van Houtte fresh ground coffee machine was a nice touch, although created a bit of a backlog as people had trouble figuring out how to use it (and it takes time to grind/brew each cup). The dining room was small but clean. Tim Hortons is just outside the hotel. Walmart and LCBO across the street. One tip – if you need a cab make sure you give yourself plenty of lead time or book in advance (hotel can assist with this)…I learned this the hard way!

We stayed here for two nights and was very pleased with our stay. Very clean hotel guest laundry handy too as we were travelling around. Breakfast was good only thing we didn't like plastic cutlery hard to cut bread with plastic knife. Walmart opposite.

We stayed one night at this hotel during our visit to the surrounding areas. Both the check in and out were handled pleasantly and efficiently. The room is relatively big, but the bathroom is rather small compared to the room. I wish the hotel uses individual bottles for shampoo, body wash, etc. rather than using those big bottles that hang on the wall inside the shower area. The room is clean and the bed quite comfortable. The room was quiet during our stay. Breakfast was standard fare and nothing exciting to write about. The cons: The desk chair is broken. When I sat back, it slanted to one side and maybe a bit too far back, so it was quite uncomfortable (or even dangerous) to sit there. You may fall over if you lean back suddenly. The ventilation unit seems to blow out cold air even when I set the thermostat to 72 degree. I am a Diamond member of the Best Western. I was recognized verbally during the check in, but was not offered any extra amenities or points. Otherwise it is a nice hotel for a short stay.

The hotel was unexpectedly clean and updated, with very attentive staff. Exceeded my expectations. It had a nice continental breakfast. There are accessible rooms. The town of Fergus was charming. I would go back.

We stayed while attending a wedding and the hotel provided shuttle service to and fro the event. Breakfast area kept very clean. Staff are always in the breakfast area during hours open to keep it stocked and clean.

The Fergus Hotel had everything we've been accustomed to expect from a Best Western Plus – a clean, comfortable room, a good, hot breakfast selection and courteous service. The latte machine was a nice addition to the typical breakfast. We would stay here again if we're back in the area.

Was in town for a wedding in Elora, had a great stay. Room was big and comfortable, friendly front desk and free breakfast in the AM. LCBO and wWalmart across the st. Tim Hortons and gas station right out front, also some food options in the area. Close to where we needed to be and close to get back to highway.

Nice small hotel at the edge of town. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The service was good and quick access to town and the highway. Nice breakfast served in the morning. I would recommend the Best Western Fergus when in the area.

Check-in and out are super quick, Employees are curtious at all times and very helpful, whether you need anything you forgot, or just directions..... great breakfasts, in the morning and they are there early cause we start early...…..!!!!!

This is not a big hotel by any means, but has everything you need! Rooms are spacious and comfy, and staff is friendly. I've been here 3 times now, and never let down. Plenty of parking, and a TH right outside the door. Walmart across the street that you can walk to. Very quiet.

Very clean hotel, received great customer service from the family running the business. Stayed for 2 nights, and the breakfast was always available on time, and part of your night's stay. The front desk had a sheet with suggested restaurants and my colleague and I appreciated the free cookies as well. There's a Tim Horton's right next door so also very convenient. Only 2 floors, beds were comfortable, windows did not open but the a/c unit worked well. Good choice if you are in the area.

We recently stayed here due to a death in family and when we asked for an extended check out the best they could do was time funeral ended even after offering to pay a fee. I understand policy as it pertains but in fact we had booked 2 rooms and asked to leave our belongs in until 2 if possible and we're still refused Also rates seem high for mid week

Rooms are the cleanest of any hotel I have ever been to. Staff was all over themselves to try and help in any way they could. Breakfast was good. Newspapers and magazines are top notch, close to town center. Would certainly return.

Booked 5 rooms more than two months in advance for a family wedding. Called 4 days before check in to find out they only booked 3 rooms for the night of wedding. Left scrambling to find accommodations for 10 people. No measures were taken to rectify or take responsibility. Very disappointed.

It is great for business. Breakfast is standard continental with someone there to help.Very polite staff and very clean. No dining room but the area has many nice restaurants. I suggest the Bradelbane resto pub.

Excellent hotel with extremely cleanliness. Front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast area is spacious and one of the best in a Hampton I have experienced. Fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, oranges...), scrambled eggs, yogurt and even granola. :) in addition to all the other hot and cold items. Staff was very cooperative and quick. Staff was helpful and friendly with our check in and out. The room was quiet, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was the usual continental with hot and cold items. There is a Tim Horton's (for those that need their Tim's) right next to the hotel entrance.

Standard Best Western hospitality, gives you a solid and clean hotel room with a comfy bed and cheerful staff to greet you. The bed was comfy as were the pillows. Just check the heat level before you go to sleep - it works really well when you remember to set the perfect temp for you. Love us our Best Western stays!

Room was clean, well appointed (including microwave), comfortable beds, very attentive staff (special mention to Manish from the front desk), free parking and basic breakfast included. We stayed over Christmas and hotel was giving to guests a nice chocolate box (Lindt!!!) as a gift at the time. This was very kind! Ideal location to explore some villages of "real Canada" (i.e. not big metropolis) such as the beautiful Elora. If the hotel had a swimming pool we would give 5 stars.

Very cozy and clean The staff was very helpful and kind.. The only thing would be if they had an evening "bar" we were there for New Year's eve.. spent the eve in Elora and came back before count down - and nothing was happening at the Hotel.

We called the 1888 number and were told that bringing our dogs was ok. When we got there, the dogs were not allowed. Rather than letting us know that we would need to find alternative arrangements for the following night, they allowed the dogs in, and then sprang on us at noon the next day, right before we had to go to a funeral viewing, that we couldn't leave one of them in the room. We had our pup in the car, in below zero temps, because we had NO WHERE else to put her. We had to scramble between viewings to find another hotel and get checked out. On the plus side, the staff themselves were nice and didn't charge us for the late checkout. I just don't like how the whole thing was handled. And whoever mans the toll free number should have KNOWN that this location is NOT pet friendly.

It was a rainy cold november afternoon. The entrance to the hotel was very inviting- a quick check-in and up to our elegant clean room, I turned down the sheets for a nap and luxuriated in the comfortable bed with lots of fresh smelling cuddly pillows loved our stay

Fabulous staff that went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Very clean, spacious suites with great ammenities. Loved being offered a bottle of water after travelling at check in. Great help yourself breakfast, the eggs were actually very tasty and hot.

Lovely hotel in Fergus. Hotel is absolutely spotless and the rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. As a single female business traveller I felt very safe in this hotel. Lots of amenities close by and very professional staff.

Myself, my wife and daughter recently spent a night at the Best Western in Fergus, Ontario while participating in a ringette tournament. We were pelasantly suprised to find such a modern facility in a small town such as Fergus. We will definately stay here again if in the area adn I would highly recommend it to any one else. A hot breakfast was included with the stay, it was typically of current hotel hot breakfasts, but they added nice touches such warm muffins. The wifi in our room worked very well.

Stayed on a Saturday night. Check in was very quick and easy. The gentleman at the desk was very polite and helpful. The hotel is small and rooms are a bit on the small side as well but more than adequate for a nights stay. I believe they only have about 25 rooms so if you have an event in Fergus I would recommend booking as early as you can. The hotel and the rooms were one of the cleanest I have been in but I understand it is relatively new. They provide a breakfast but it is not cooked to order or anything just your standard small buffet style with precooked eggs, breakfast meat and potato poppers. The only complaint I would have and it is not really a complaint but more of a concern is that I think the rates are a bit high for a town such as Fergus. Note: The property is not signed the best and there is no real entrance driveway. The hotel is set back in behind other businesses and it's just an open shared lot that makes up the entrance.

Stayed here for 2 nights and happy we did. A bit hard to find since it is behind a gas station but it is on the main highway, #6, going into town, or out of town I suppose if you are coming from the South. ha ha. . Great reception at the front desk, friendly and efficient. Room spotless and everything needed. All appeared fairly new. . You can skip the "hot" breakfast, not so good but lots of other items on offer and likely healthier as well. . Two suggestions if I may: 1. Place a mini-nite light in the bath rooms. We needed to close the curtains because of street lights in the parking area. . 2. We could not work the soap/shampoo dispensers. We might not be the "sharpest knives in the drawer" but I'll be darned. The very small images on the unit are of no help so perhaps some printed note with a diagram might help. We were in room 215 and you'll find that others have had a similar issue since the shampoo unit inside the bath tub is about to crash on the floor. I'll bet that those in house keeping will confirm that they never need refilling since visitors do not or can not use them. Personally we prefer the little bottles, use half, take the rest home. LOL ! .

Room very clean, bed comfortable and a nice quick checkout and staff friendly. The only thing I didn't like is that I have high expectations for the breakfast buffett. The hot food seemed like it was reheated Wal-Mart prepackaged breakfast items. I also didn't like staff staring at people while they were eating.

This hotel was very nice. It was clean for the most part, the staff was very friendly, it was modern and the beds were insanely comfortable! The only issue we had was that the cleaning staff didn't vacuum around the beds as well as they should have because we found chips from the last guests. Other than that it was a great choice for a hotel.

How about no. The breakfast was very good but marred by a guest wearing a bathrobe, barefoot. (To his credit he WAS wearing pants under it.) The front desk person came and looked at him and the breakfast manager came and looked at him but not a word was said. Why not put up a sign requiring shoes at the door, if that will help avoid the confrontation that staff was seemingly trying to avoid? Or keep a selection of flip flops from dollarama behind the desk? As others have noted this is a beautiful new hotel with all amenities. One improvement suggested: label the bathroom condiments legibly. I would rather see the word "shampoo" in letters an inch high than have to guess. Like most people I do not wear my reading glasses in the shower. Staff courteous, place spotless, breakfast good, recommend you bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

A very well maintained facility; staff goes out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. the king beds are absolutely top notch! although in a smaller town area, there is amenities to fulfill your needs; for dinner a short drive to the Brew House you will not be disappointed.

Everything was great at this property! We were here for the Scottish Festival and Highland Games. All staff we encountered we polite and friendly. The room was very clean. When we checked in there was a complementary bottle of wine and chocolates that we really enjoyed! Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel has a fantastic location only ten minutes away from the Alora Gorge and Quarry. This hotel is near all amenities and having a Tim Hortons and Esso gas station next-door is very convenience. It is apparent that this is a new hotel. Upon check-in we were offered a complementary cold beverage which was very nice. Staff was very kind and helpful. This hotel is definitely worth staying at. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!

We traveled up from Florida stopping at places along the way. Our friends live in Fergus and recommended this hotel for our overnight stay. We were very impressed with the very friendly staff, appealing lobby, design and cleanliness of the room, comfortable beds, and the bathroom was like a spa. Beautifully decorated. Breakfast was included and was satisfactory. We highly recommend a stay here!

We stayed for one night at Best Western Fergus while our friends camped in Elora. Just by walking through the main doors you smell the cleanliness and freshness of the hotel and you see a beautiful smile on the face of all the people waiting to welcome you at the hotel. The double queen room was spacious and fully equipped with a microwave and fridge. We had amazing speed free Internet and the washroom was luxuriously setup. Breakfast was OK , there was a variety of food to pick from but on a very small scale and the quality can certainly be improved. Overall it is a great hotel and we will definitely stay there if we visit the city again!

This BWP does not grab your attention from the outside but the outstanding service and cleanliness inside will! Great place to stay. Excellent and eclectic restaruants downtown. The river "gorge" downtown is cool too!

The greeting at the front desk was very friendly and we were allowed to check in early. The beds were comfortable and breakfast had everything you could ask for, hot and cold. The location was convenient to all places in Fergus and the downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

room was clean, but went to use the jacuzzi tub and it took forever to fill, and then when jets turned on an orange film appeared on the tub... paid extra for a disgusting jacuzzi. Location was a good, easy accessible.

Always have a good stay here at BW Fergus. Very accommodating staffs and always receive a friendly service. Comfortable room and cozy. Nice breakfast menu and good and always appreciate it that there's always a basket of fruits available.

Great area to visit. Hotel was well located near LCBO, Beer store, Walmart and Tim Hortons. 15 minute walk to town centre with amazing old buildings, river views and restaurants. Be sure to check out the Brew House restaurant down the street. Service was bad as they got hit with 3 unexpected groups but the food was actually worth the 2 hr wait. We were having a great time visiting anyway.

All staff, at the front-desk and the breakfast room, were so professional and courteous. Very impressive. The room was spotless and the bed super comfortable. The wifi could be improved, but nonetheless average for a hotel.

Located on the north side of Fergus, this small hotel is well appointed, and easily accessible. What made the stay exceptional was the outstanding service and hospitality provided by the staff, right across the board. One of the rare experiences where I felt staff were genuinely happy to provide help and a smile! Tremendous!

Staff were very helpful, rooms very clean with everything close at hand - I.e.- shopping, food and fuel. Close to main highway for easy access to all destinations and events that are in the area. I will stay again at this location.

We had a very satisfactory stay in the hotel and found all the staff were very helpful to us as guests. They obviously were very committed to their work and were very pleasant at all time.my one concern was that the system for charging for incidentals was not explained at time of checking in - this -to me- seems a convoluted method and confusing for guests.

We had one night at the hotel. Staff was fantastic - so friendly and the hotel is new. The only low mark is the cost. It was pricey I think for the BW brand but no real issues - we slept well. Checkout was easy. Room was spotless.

stayed in a lot of Best Western hotels and this one comes in as one of the best,very clean,staff excellent,food very good and good selection.free parking,there is a spa adjacent,and gas station with tim Horton next door

Go to Orangeville to stay if you can, better prices with a pool, hot tub and better all around experience. We will not be coming back, there looked like much better Inns in Fergus. Most expensive Beat Weatern I've ever stayed.

I had my parents in from out of town and they stayed overnight at the Best Western Plus in Fergus. I helped them up with their bags and I was amazed how clean this hotel was. Nice rooms, great amenities and my parents said the bed was very comfortable. They even had a nice breakfast the next morning, which was a treat because the weather was bad outside. Great Job BW, you will have repeat clients again....

Five ladies for a shopping weekend. Great customer service, we had a suite for 3 ladies and a 2 queen bed room for the other two..Greeted upon arrival by friendly fellow at the front desk, early check-in granted. Staff changed, but we were kindly and warmly greeted each time we came in or went out. The suite was spacious, 2 queen beds and a pullout couch. Good room for our five to visit in. The breakfast was typical of BW. cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, coffee/tea, and hot scrambled eggs, ham and potatoes, pastries and muffins. Tables and floor were clean and the area was regularly attended to during the morning. Families, some sports players and shoppers were all spotted here on this weekend.

Tried to book a block of rooms and was given the most expensive rate I've seen. This hotel doesn't have any accommodations, its definitely not worth the rate we were given. Very rude to deal with. Unable to accommodate many needs or match rates.

I attended the FFAO Meeting in Fergus last week and once again stayed at the Best Western. The owners and staff were exceptional as always and the rooms were impeccably Clean. This time I had a larger suite as they upgraded me for a minimal cost. I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast as the last time was excellent and its all you can eat. I really enjoyed my stay and will book there next time too.

We stayed here one night after our son's wedding. Room prices alone are relatively expensive but we were in on a wedding package deal. We arrived about 11:30 Bed was comfortable . Breakfast included was lovley and included a variety of breakfast choices

In town for one night. Our room was very comfortable, especially the bed, but even the small armchair was unbelievably comfortable too. Staff were helpful and friendly. Yummy waffles and great coffee!

In town for a family function. Stayed here for 5 nights. You usually can't go wrong with a Best Western. What I like: - Newer building - I had no issues finding parking - Friendly staff - Clean room/very clean bathroom - bed was comfortable. I could have used a harder pillow though. - They're building an Esso in front of the hotel so there will be a quick and easy fill-up spot for travellers. This will be a bonus. - Walmart across the road. - Breakfast was you typical "hotel-chain-quick-made-breakfast". Bread was fresh, they had yogurt, and some pastries. The eggs and sausage were not to my liking and only attempted that once. They have a coffee machine and it was okay-machine-coffee. Very Expensive, New building, Cheap wall air conditioner very noisy one would expect to find in a low Budget Hotel. Wall Dispensers in the bathroom for soap and shampoo. We have stayed in other Best Western Plus Hotels ie in Perth Ont. and they were superb, not sure how this Hotel received a Plus rating.

The room was clean, bed was comfortable, the location good (Walmart, LCBO, subway/Pizza Hut across the street). Only thing that got me to lose a star was the breakfast. Not really worth much! Sausage "things" were gross, hash browns dry. The eggs were ok, ham on second day was also not bad. All in all, a good choice!

Staff was very helpful. Rooms were very clean and had all the amenities you would need for your stay, the beds were very comfortable, rooms were very clean,and very quiet. Hotel over all was very clean. The hot breakfast had a good variety for everyone to choose from.We were very close to a lot of restaurants. Short drive to an awesome variety of shopping in the area. Over all we had a great stay and will be staying here again.

Hotel was very clean, and we constantly saw staff giving something a wipe or a polish. Had a lovely clean smell as well. The front desk staff were terrific. We had a problem with the deadbolt and it was fixed pretty much within the hour. And the housekeeping staff figured out that we did not like our bed 'tucked in all the way around', saving us the task of untucking it. LOL The included breakfast was decent. Pretty typical, actually. Every staff member that we came across had a smile and a greeting of some sort. Very pleasant stay, we will be back.

This newish hotel was really a pleasant surprise . The property was spotlessly clean. The staff was more than friendly and totally competent. The breakfast had daily variations and a large selection. We would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were very clean, hotel was quiet, decent breakfast selection. Even got a phone call to the room shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Walking distance to lcbo and Wal mart. Would stay here again.

I've never written a poor review before today. First off, the best western in Fergus is clean and comfortable, and in a prime location for the Elora gorge and scenic countryside. I want to caution potential visitors on the hotel's poor communication services. Long story short, there was a block of rooms reserved for a wedding I was to attend early August. I tried to change the date of my reservation, knowing there were a few rooms left in the block set aside, the hotel said there was no rooms left. When we worked through that miscommunication, they sent me a revised email with the changes , but included the wrong dates. When I called to inquiry on the room, they informed me I did not have a reservation. In the end the wedding party cancelled 3 rooms since they were unoccupied and the cancellation emails were sent to my email...further confusing the situation. They charged me for a night I wasn't there even though when I called earlier I was told by their staff I did not have a room. And I'm out $200. It's a nice place as long as there's minimal problems.

The staff at Best Western is attentive to every detail, ensuring that guests experience a wonderful stay. From a warm greeting at the front desk, to a great night's sleep in the cosy beds, this hotel has it all. Morning breakfasts are served in a bright, clean dining area and we thought that the coffee was the best that we have ever had in a hotel. The staff should be commended on a job well done! We'll be back!

4 of us rented 2 rooms at Beat Western Plus In Fergus. We all loved our stay there for 2 nights. staff extremely friendly, breakfast was very good and hotel is super clean. we were very impressed.. Will be glad to recommend it to family and friends.

My wife and I had a recent stay of 4 days.This hotel is one of the best that I have stayed at.The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for their guests.Very clean, centrally located and serve a good breakfast.The rooms are well appointed and the beds are great.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Fergus. The staff (all of them) are exceptional and go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable. The rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is delicious! After i checked out i discovered my car battery was dead. The owner and her daughter immediately came out to assist by boosting my car. I was on my way in no time and was extremely impressed by the caring helpful attitude they have. Great job BW Fergus. We will return!

We were in Fergus for the 2016 Scottish festival. This hotel is a few minutes drive from the festival grounds, and from the town's main restaurant area. The room was clean and quiet, with very comfortable beds.

Had the pleasure of staying at Best Western in Fergus, ON for two nights (August 12 & 13, 2016). It is very well run, extremely helpful staff, very clean. Would highly recommend and will stay again if I am in that area.

this was our first stay at this location at checkin we each received a small bag of doritos chips and a bottled water the water was a welcome especially with the heat wave we were having normally the room key you have to insert the key into the lock this key was a touch to the door handle to open normally you walk straight into the room with everything laid out on either side this was different when you enter a desk chair and phone were on your left with the bathroom on your right the bathroom was inside the room you walked 10 feet or so and turned right to walk past the bathroom wall to a cabinet on your left containing the tv fridge and microwave with the bed on your right this seemed strange at first but when you sat on the bed to watch tv it gave you the impression you were in a bedroom which gave us a nice cozy feeling the breakfast was a buffet breakfast another first the eggs were as a cheese omlet with sliced ham cut into approximately 3" squares accompanied with hash browns you had to use a plastic spoon for the hash browns as the plastic fork was not strong enough the hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside the room was clean comfortable and the staff were very friendly I think this BW was only opened 2 or 3 years ago I would recommend this hotel

Clean, new hotel located minutes from downtown Fergus (about a 10 minute walk or 2-3 minute drive) and only a 10 minute drive into the hamlet of Elora. Rooms are reasonably sized with clean, crisp bedding and well-appointed bathrooms. No individual sized toiletries offered (short of a makeup remover wipe and a face wash bar), only wall-mounted squeeze bottles for lotion, hand soap and hair/body wash & conditioner. In-room movies (paid or free) are not offered, only local cable TV services. Room offered a microwave & mini fridge, King sized bed with fresh white linens, a desk, flat screen TV & chair. Hotel provided complimentary hot breakfast with a nice selection of food & beverage. Would stay here again next time we're in the area.

After being very disappointed with our very well known hotel in Guelph, we found this hotel! Wish we could have spent our entire weekend here! Great Hotel, very clean, comfortable and modern. Breakfast was fantastic, and the coffee is great! But, What really stands out is the staff. They are Amazing! Customer service at its finest. The room, bed, service and breakfast were all great, very quiet location. If you plan to explore Elora gorge and quarry, this is the place to stay !!!

Very pleasant stay, in a very clean hotel with a good breakfast, friendly staff, close to Grand Bend Raceway and next door to a beautiful new church. This was our second time there and we were very pleased

The stand-out in an immaculate, comfortable, nicely decorated hotel was the staff. They treated us with old-fashioned courtesy and hospitality and clearly have pride in their facility. A warm and welcoming foyer, always-on coffee and gracious staff made this feel more home-like than most. The wifi was reliable, a/ c reasonably quiet.There is an immaculately clean laundry room for guests. If they used glass instead of flimsy plastic cutlery and glasses and the cheap paper plates in the breakfast room it would be 6 star. It is a good location for exploring St. Jacobs and surrounds, and very quiet despite its commercial location. Note there is a spa next door!

We stayed here while my wife was at a conference in Kitchener and we didn't mind the 1/2 drive through beautiful farmland. The Hotel looked and felt new. It was very clean and modern. Everyone at the front desk were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was very good compared to a number of other Best Westerns we have stayed at. While my wife was at the conference, I took advantage of the spa attached to the hotel and had a very good massage. The only negative was the cable/internet service went out for a couple of hours one evening but that wasn't the hotels fault. They kept us updated as to how long the service would be out and they were right on. I would definitely stay here again.

The Best Western Plus Fergus ON is a quite new hotel. It is a pleasant and comfortable hotel in a good location for visiting events in Fergus and Elora, which is nearby. There is no restaurant in close walking distance but a five-minute drive into Fergus provides several very good options.

Stayed for family issue for three days two nights. Hotel just on outskirts of town so no pubbing and driving. Very friendly staff and it is very clean! Room very spacious. Lots of great pillows. All you need in bathroom, even makeup remover ! Thank you !!! Fridge and microwave and wifi all worked great. Desk. Chair with footstool and suitcase bench. Coffee maker in room. I've and awesome vending machine on each floor. Spa attached to hotel looked good. Breakfast was really great waffles were superb and huge !!! Coffee, eggs sausage home fries cereal yogurt fruit etc etc. papers. Clean!!!!!! Workout room very clean new elliptical, treadmill and bike, towels, wipes ( clean) and universal Machine. Could use a couple free weights and a mat but impressed. Felt safe in it as well main floor with big windows and secure access. All rooms touch card entry. Good choice of cable. Bedside clock updated too ! Lots of parking for cars or RVs. I can see this place expanding in future. My only thing was the over use of air freshener in lobby. The cost could be better for a Sunday Monday Tuesday BUT it is clean and modern. We have stayed at varies B&B in fergus elora so I know what there is offered. Not a lot. I would recommend it. Special thanks to nice man at desk for REAL tissues for my runny nose !!! ( yes you get real ones in room too!!!

Great location. Within walking distance of downtown Fergus and beautiful gardens and river. Attractive indoors. Staff very helpful and friendly. Plentiful shopping and interesting boutiques in town and around town.

Stayed at this hotel because of location and other family members were already registered. Check in did not go smoothly at all. Desk clerk couldn't seem to get it right with the credit cards. Best part was the rooms. Nicely done, beds comfortable. Would be better if the a/c unit was at roof height and not bed height. Individual in bed beside unit was freezing. Breakfast area way too small. Coffee machine not working, no staff knew what to do. A separate coffee maker was there, but again, staff unsure of how to use. Ran out of cutlery, layout of food items not well thought out. For price we paid, were very disappointed.

Could not be more pleased, staff, hotel, check in, breakfast all amazing...each room is total luxury! Hotel staff are all so friendly & do all they can to make your stay wonderful...Owners are very particular to every detail...I will stay no where else...! BEST, BEST Western!

In town for a wedding so I stayed here with family on a Friday night. The hotel is nice and clean with very good staff who know what they are doing. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and they even provide a free breakfast. The only problem we had was that there was a very strong scent of cleaning solution or something like that through the entire building. If the smell is gone, I would be happy to stay here again.

Everything was excellent, staff, room, cleanliness and comfort. It is especially nice to not have the long straight corridor and rectangle room. The desk was in a separate are, which could be very handy The staff appeared to be a family and made us feel welcome.

Nice new, clean, hotel. Nice room, comfortable beds. But, we asked for a quiet room when we made the booking and were given a room by the elevator. That was an annoyance but as elevator was not too noisy we didn't complain about that until we left. Big problem was the 2 nearby rooms of drunks who drank, swore, screamed and kicked walls until almost 4:00 a.m. We called desk twice to complain - staff did talk to them but they were too drunk to care. They should have been kicked out - we did not get a good nights sleep at all. Staff apoligized in the morning but should have done more - call the police perhaps. They did not offer us anything to compensate for the terrible night's sleep and the poor experience at this hotel.

From the moment I checked in the level of service was first class all the way. It is rare that I am actually impressed with hotel service but this was an experience to remember. I highly recommend this property to anyone.

Arrived around 3am when driving across Canada and was told there was only a busniess suite available. Said that was fine and went outside to get my belongings and when I came back in I overheard the front desk ask another lady which type of room she would like. Felt like they just tried to sell me the more expensive room instead of offering options. Very disspointed with the service, room was clean. When I checked out the amount on my bill and what my credit card was charged varried by $20.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus in Fergus this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised on the clean, pleasant smelling surroundings. I got there around 11 am but they went out of their way to book me in almost immediately, within a half hour. From the cleaning staff to the manager his wife and staff I was greeted with respect and in a very friendly manner. My room was impeccably clean and very inviting, and had all the amenities I expected. Breakfast was good and included in my price. every morning when I came down to breakfast Jasbir greeted me with a beautiful smile I would recommend this hotel any time and will definitely be a repeat customer

Clean facility and room, great staff, pleasantly surprised at the quality and selection of breakfast. All good! The front desk even called up to our room, shortly after we arrived, to make sure it was satisfactory.

Although the hotel has been open for 2 years, the staff and management have ensured that all physical amenities have been kept in pristine condition. Staff were most accomodating, polite, and professional. All aspects of the room were more than acceptable given the price point. The room was suitable for two; but, an additional lounge chair, to accomodate guests, would have been preferable rather than the small corner table which served no purpose. The "snack machine" on the 2nd floor was not well stocked, although it was supplemented by an open shelf offering in the lobby. The selection, again, could have been broader so as to include snack foods such as "chips & cheesies" rather than the healthier cracker selection. There were cans of "nuts" but at $6.00 per I'm not sure what kind of turnover volume was expected... There were only 2 "Chocolate bar" type offerings and ONLY 1 of each type on the shelf. Perhaps a reevaluation of the terrible eating habits of Canadians staying at Best Westerns may induce management to re-align the selection. The breakfast area was equally as clean, simple; and, served it's intended purpose well. Given that some of the guests enjoying the "free" breakfast were teenage athletes it may have been advisable for staff to have taken the appetites of these young and growing men into account and prepared sufficient quantities of foodstuffs to satisfy their hunger as opposed to serving a group of Senior Citizens.. My breakfast is normally coffee & a piece of fruit & my wife enjoys "coffee in the room" only, so we were not affected. Just a thought. The location is easily accessible & in close proximity to several outlet stores from fast food to Walmart to the LCBO. It is not that far from the main street downtown which is good. The staff may have been trained more extensively in "marketing", especially as both Fergus & Elora are prime Tourist attractions, as is the Royal City of Guelph. A more intimate knowledge of the local & regional communities allows staff the well received opportunity to promote the region; AND, in doing so increase the volume of "return guests".. Overall a rating of 3.5 stars as the accommodation did meet most of our basic needs. We would stay there again...

My wife and I stayed for only one night but will go back. The hotel was new and well kept. Our "Standard King" room was exceptionally spacious. The hotel is very close to town without the downtown prices. Breakfast was hot and with good variety. Ample parking, free Wi-Fi, newspapers friendly staff. An all round good experience.

I would give this hotel a 4 and a half rating. The hotel is very new and clean and the staff working hard to keep things ship shape. The room and bathroom were a bit on the small side. OK for a night or two but not longer for two people in the room.

What a great hotel we decided to stay at in Fergus, ON. The Best Western Plus at 830 Saint David Street N is one of the best hotels I have had the opportunity to visit in my travels. I stay at approximately 30 - 50 hotels every year throughout North America due to my career and I consider this hotel in Fergus to be top shelf! Thanks to the staff for the great experience. I look forward to our next stay.

Very nice hotel. New, so everything is "polished". Should be called "The Best Best Western". The room was well appointed, beds good, pillows good. One of those small bathrooms where the door almost hits the toilet, but no big deal. Very quiet. Problem with the remote was fixed promptly and politely. Breakfast was OK for hockey tourney morning. Pricey, but only other options are in Guelph.

Located outside of Guelph, Fergus is a nice place, but I think this hotel needs to be a bit more competitive in their pricing. Hotel is smoke free, pet free. Very clean, quiet, no issues, staff is super friendly. Breakfast was OK. That's it. Not like other's I have seen. Overall a nice hotel but too much money.

Nice Rooms,limited tv with cable mostly subscription. Fair Internet. Basically a makeover of an old hotel. Worst breakfast ever and high rates for small town! Limited staff! I stay at best western often and generally like there hotels very much. This hotel needs to be designated standard not PLUS.

Interesting find when searching the area for a business stay hotel. Very nice hotel. Modern facilities, good value. Nice to find a comfortable place outside of the normal cities. I would come back when in the area.

Excellent hotel to stay at. The service was friendly and the room was clean. Breakfast was simple and filling, but what made our day was the manager greeting everyone with a smile. He went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is clean and well run. The breakfast was good with a good selection. The hotel is well situated to access down town. The staff are friendly and helpful in making our stay an enjoyable one. I would return to stay again at this hotel.

The hotel was supposedly completed in 2014, yet still had just built on the outside. We were excited, expecting fresh and great. Room stunk, even though it was supposed to be non smoking. There was no good housekeeping. the room was dusty, the furniture was dusty, there was very little toilet paper in the bathroom, and the bathroom had poor lighting. The man at the front desk did not register me for my rewards points and told me to ask the next hotel I went to. Wrong answer. I called customer service and got it straightened out, but he did not know how the hotel chain worked. The breakfast was marginal at best. The wifi was hit or miss, mostly it did not work.

Fergus doesn't have much in the way of competition and I do like giving my business to Best Western. But... the bathroom wasn't completely spick and span (a couple of hairs on the outside of the tub, plus a few small stains along the edge that should have been covered with caulking. A few fingerprint smudges on the shower curtain). I wasn't fussy on the squeezable dispensers in the bathroom and shower either - didn't seem overly hygienic, though I know it's green and saves the hotel money. View from our room (205) was horrible. Breakfast was okay, but missed having a hot cereal option and French toast was thin and tough. Not my best Best Western experience.

We're a mid-60's couple from Ottawa, Ontario who stayed 4 nights (2015.08.16-19). We've been visiting friends in Fergus for 30 years & usually book accommodations in Guelph (despite chaffing at the long drive between locations each day). This time, when we discovered that Fergus finally had a decent hotel (Best Western Plus Fergus), it was an easy decision: although there was a modest cost premium over what we usually booked in Guelph, we valued the fact that it was less than a 2-minute drive to our friends' home AND that this new hotel was the higher, PLUS-level of quality in the Best Western brand. To say that we were totally impressed would be an understatement; this was one of the very BEST hotel experiences & value-for-money investments that we've ever had in our decades of travel! The location is ideal for a traveller: it's on a main street & just a short walk to a Walmart Superstore, LCBO, Beer Store, Home Hardware & 2 gas stations. BUT what really sets this hotel apart is its overarching "character" — as defined by the stellar, hands-on ownership (Subhash & "Jessica" [Jaswinder?] Nagpal) & staff (Jins Paul, Mani, Harry & Marian). We normally remember the names of SOME of those serving us in our hotel stays because of their exceptional friendliness & service ethic, but rarely absolutely EVERY SINGLE ONE! They repeatedly, spontaneously & gladly went out of their way to ensure our stay was both excellent & memorable! Add the fact that this is a new, upper-midscale hotel with all the ameneties that bespeak "ease & comfort" & you know why we'd now NEVER consider another venue for all future trips to Fergus. FINAL THOUGHT: They say that opinions vary & talk is cheap. We handed out more well-deserved tips ($$$) to these folks than we ever have & in just one, 4-night stay, consider them to be like extended family. John & Ginette Michol Ottawa, Ontario P.S. The Best Western Plus in Fergus Ontario was a very nice hotel for our family to stay in for the night. We wanted to visit the area while on our way to Georgian Bay. It was very clean and the staff was very nice. The continental breakfast had a nice variety of items to choose from.

We have stayed at this hotel twice over the last 3 weeks! The service is always friendly, the rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable, and the continental breakfast is good! I would definitely recommend it to all travelers who want a relaxing and friendly atmosphere!
