Best Western Fairfax

The ac wouldn't get lower than 67. It smelled terribly of stale smoke- the number one reason I'd never return. It was clean but run down. Very. I also didn't realize but it's exterior entry. No thanks. The Internet was also slowwww. By comparison we stayed for the same nightly rate (within $15-20) in Springfield at another hotel by Marriott and it was night and day difference. Pool is outdoor and not open or heated. Pillows were so soft they fell flat.

The Best Western of Fairfax should be anyone's #1 choice when looking a hotel. Great supportive staff, real cooked fresh breakfast with enough nutrients for a long day of work. The entire staff go above and beyond which is very rare in today's businesses. Further the Best Western of Fair is just minutes to major highways (Route 66), WALKING distance to shops and other UNIQUE PLACES, “SI-SI”!!

Not served any breakfast even at 915 am saying breakfast closes at 930 am . There was no responsible person to call and complain. The f and b person was rude and said eat whatever is there. We were not beggars to eat whatever is there

Cost effective and seamless stay at the BW Fairfax. Convenient room with all amenities and traditional BW breakfast. Quiet place to sleep and work during a business trip, maybe a little remote from restaurants.

The Best Western property in Fairfax, VA exceeded my expectations. I had a wonderful and comfortable experience during my two-night stay. From the registration front desk area being warm and inviting with great seasonal decor and a flowing water fountain to spacious, clean and comfortable King Suite room, I was impressed and greatly enjoyed my stay. Excellent customer service and hotel hospitality staff all around. They take great pride in maintaining the property!

We stayed here for its proximity to I-66 in Fairfax. The hotel is an old style BW hotel with entry to the rooms from the exterior. Be sure to ask for a ground floor room if you cannot do stairs. There is no elevator. That being said the room was very clean and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was hot with the usual breakfast items.

I stayed several days. My son was in hospital. Maid came into my room with my wife naked on the first day. I complained to desk and the next day they came into room again. You should have privacy while at a hotel.

would definitely stay again our favorite place to stay when we are in the area. There breakfasts the best we ever had staying in a hotel for the price of the stay. There is plenty of amenities in the area to see and visit great shopping in the area.

It's ALL about customer service and they have nailed that part. The other part they nailed is the breakfast big buffet the only thing missing was Salsa and Mayo for me lol. The Staff is so Amazing Hasan and my check in lady sorry I didn't catch your name. It could use a few updates but great service always makes up for what a company may lack in. My stay at the other Best Western in Woodbridge was not as pleasant although I Loved everything about that hotel except for the rudeness of the Manager. Sorry about that plug but Best Western is Best Western and you should know not all of your companies offer the same great service.

Great location and value for your money. thought he facility is older it is clean and well managed. Clean rooms and great breakfast and pool. I recommend this location. Breakfast food was fresh and appropriate temperatures. Staff is friendly and attentive.

30 days staying - last 2 weeks were the worst: bed bugs- dirty sheets - underwear from another guests in the room floor. They always changed my the room but the cleaning team wanted to check I was saying the truth about the bed bugs despite my arms were full of proofs. Worst cleaning team leader ever. The front desk are very nice but the cleaning is the worst. I won't stay anymore there even if I save a lot of money.

Location to university and easy access and parking is key. Older property but kept up. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast offering very good. Nice pool area, laundry available. Fitness center small but adequate.

I traveled for business. The location fit my needs. The overall hotel is a bit dated but was very clean and the customer service was great. The continental breakfast was was a plus. They offered a variety of items for everyone's taste.

This hotel made for a very comfortable stay. The room was very clean, comfortable, and met all of our needs. The AC was excellent, and well needed for the hot DC summers. Very nice outside pool with a lifeguard. Excellent breakfast space to accommodate many people if needed. Safe parking area and close to Air and Space Museum, and Mount Vernon. The people running the hotel are very kind and hospitable. Great furniture and well decorated with good taste.

The front desk person was very helpful. We had no issue. The pool was very clean. I would definitely stay here again , I would recommend anyone who is looking for a nice cozy place to stay .Best western Fairfax Virginia is the right place to stay

the room was very clean the air conditioner was not as cold as i would have liked..the breakfast was good..and i loved the heated lamp in the bathroom..i will stay at this location again.. the guy at the front desk was very nice..

We arrived in Fairfax after a long trip from Connecticut and were told the hotel had overbooked and we would not be getting the rooms we booked weeks in advance until the next day. It was extremely inconvenient. My husband is a disabled Vietnam Veteran and we had to share our room with our other family members. I'm a platinum member and we paid a lots for a week's stay in two rooms.

This place is conveniently located, the service is great as well as the restaurant menu. I recommend it to whoever is travelling as a family or alone. Secure area and close to Tyson corner. The agents working at the front desk are professional and care about the customer service. Well appreciated

This hotel is well located. Very tidy and clean. Nice swimming pool surrounded by a well kept garden. Pleasant breakfast room with good and different type of food. There is a fitness room and a laundry. It is more than five years that I travel from France to stay there when I visit friends in Washington

This hotel was in a very convenient Fairfax location, with friendly staff, an excellent fresh tasty hot breakfast, and superior housekeeping service. A very good value overall. I would for sure stay here again. Compliments to the entire staff!

I think I have stayed here about 10 times. Hotel itself is great, breakfast full and location is not far from Fairfax city, Dulles airport and the Metro. The pool isn't open but it doesn't much matter. Oh, yeah, the gym room has some equipment, enough to occupy you for a half hour.

Our 2-queen bed room was okay, nothing special. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great. Interestingly, when we tried the TV, it wouldn't turn on. I thought it might be the batteries in the remote. I called the front desk, and someone showed up in about 10 minutes. No, not the remote. He did something, i.e., put in some kind of code. Aren't hotel TV set supposed to be "ready to go?" A recent review remarked about the lengthy check in process (with no one waiting). I experienced that too. Interesting? The breakfast room is huge and attractive. We sat at a table overlooking the pool. Breakfast, at best, was fair. The sausage patty was ice cold, in spite of it being in a metal container labeled "hot." The potatoes was not hot either. There were no pastries in the little pastry "cabinet." I had to ask about them. He brought out two kinds of mini muffins (okay) and, I think, donut holes (stale?), which were cold, probably just out of the refrigerator. Getting in and out of the hotel grounds was a challenge, i.e., not easily done, especially during high traffic times. And, yes, the hotel is convenient to GMU, only about 2 1/2 miles away.

We arrived late with our son and were exhausted from the trip. Check in was quick and staff was friendly but after inspecting the room more closely it was very obvious it hasn't been cleaned well. There was a pair of shoes under the bed, the bathroom door had a red dripping stain, the bathroom floor was covered in dust and debris, the wall had a handprint on it. We were very tired and I had a cranky child who was falling asleep so we stayed in the room but I'm very disappointed about our stay. Breakfast was good and stations were clean.

Spent one night here (4 of us in a room). Yes, rooms are a bit dated-- especially the carpeting and beddings but honestly we only used the room to sleep. The pool was MUCH bigger than expected, very clean and warm. Lots of tables with umbrellas. The free breakfast was the best we've had in a motel. Lots of both hot and cold food and drink choices. We will definitely stay here again!

My family took a trip from Indiana to the East Coast. Our adventure started in North Myrtle Beach, working our way up the east coast. Our stay at the Best Western was relaxing. the registration clerk (Samira) was very helpful and polite. The rooms were clean. The area was quiet & peaceful. I was traveling with my sister that uses a walker and the hotel did not have an elevator. We had to use the ramp at the front of the hotel to get to the dining area. We extended our stay since it was such a nice area. there is a Mission BBQ close to the Hotel, I also recommend this establishment for a wonderful dinner.

My family had an event in the area to attend so there were 10 of us staying at the hotel . We loved our rooms and found the breakfast options to be good for everyone in our group. The staff was extremely happy and helpful.

This hotel is in a super location, great access to IAD, Northern VA and Metro to DC. Staff is accommodating and pre-Covid style breakfasts are back on. Unfortunately third floor rooms are closed because of staff issues common these days in hospitality.

This hotel was average overall, and similar to other hotels, it has its pros and cons. Beginning with the pros: The exterior and interior of the hotel were taken care of. The interior rooms were clean and seemingly updated (newer carpet, linens, etc.) The bed was comfortable (not too firm, etc). The staff was pleasant, it is located near some restaurants, it included breakfast and the price was reasonable in comparison to other locations. The cons: For some reason, it seemed to take forever for us to check in (even though there was no one else before us). I realize that computers can be slow, but I don't understand why it seemed to take longer than it should have. It is a hotel where all the rooms have exterior doors surrounded by concrete (which means sound carries). The walls were paper thin and it could use some soundproofing (be sure you have a white noise app if you are a light sleeper). We needed to ask for a room change due to noise. Also, the location was somewhat challenging to get into and out of with your car. There aren't many places nearby (restaurants, etc) that you can walk to. Lastly -- the breakfast was nice and had some choices, but it was the same offerings each morning. It would be nice to have a little variation (waffles, grits, sausages - links and patties, potatoes, corn flakes, yogurt, bread, bagels, etc - continental fare).

The staff could not be more friendly, professional, or courteous. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. The grounds are quiet and peaceful, and the pool fountain is a nice touch - even though the pool is closed you can still enjoy the fountain and pool setting.

Doesn't happen often these days but our experience at Best Western/Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax in Fall 2021 was so delightful that when we had to return to the area again in mid February 2022 we booked a second stay and once again they exceeded our expectations! Very clean, conveniently located, wonderful staff. GREAT VALUE

Room smelt like smoke especially when air/heat was running. TV outdated. Checkout was frustrating. BUT breakfast and the staff were amazing. Was good for the price and location but didn't meet my expectations for a quality stay and experience.

The hotel was clean and all the staff members were nice and courteous. The room was comfortable and it was in a great location. No road noise and we were able to sleep with nothing going on outside. Would recommend!

Our room had many issues. Tv did not work waited many hours to have someone come to fix the problem. When they finally came switched our room to a room with bad lighting and the tub flooring was bubbly and was hard to stand in it because the bubble would sway from one side of the tub to the other. There was no beverage's or snacks to purchase. We had to kill several cricket spiders.

The room that I was in was clean and properly made-up. However, to get to the room we walked within a short hallway where a strong smell of oil-based paint was permeating the air, but the walls didn't appear freshly painted. The exterior looked average-it didn't exude a glamorous appearance but neither did it appear in disrepair. We got a downstairs room that was tidy, but the staff starts their work early. The cleaning personnel would have been ready to clean our room had we been ready when we first woke up around 8:30am, but they were respectful of our space. The lawnmower noise from would have definitely waken someone still sleeping at the time. Overall, this hotel did fulfill our purpose, which was to rest and regroup before embarking on the last leg of our journey to the West coast.

I used my rewards points to get two free nights, and instead was charged $30 for each of those nights. When I asked why, I got the run around and eventually was told to call corporate. Corporate just keeps transferring me around until I'm disconnected.

My husband and I stayed 8 nights at the Best Western - Fairfax. We were so pleased with everything about our stay. The front desk people were great - friendly, thoughtful, helpful, and efficient. We asked for a "quiet location" and got that (no one above or beside us) - and they followed up to ensure we were satisfied. Due to the CoViD restrictions, things were a little different: no hot breakfast, outside chairs, business center temporarily shut down, and the pool gate was locked. The "grab and go" breakfast was good enough - instead of them assuming what we wanted to eat and drink, we were given a choice each day. When I asked about a chair for sitting outside, an extra desk chair was brought to our room within a few minutes. We needed to print something, and I was given their email address so they could print it for me. Our room was clean and roomy. The king sized bed and pillows were comfortable (I checked to see what brand for when we are ready to purchase a new mattress), the desk was a good size (husband needed to do some work), a comfortable couch, plush towels, and a good sized mini-fridge and microwave. We were very pleased with our stay, and plan to stay there again when we need to return to the area in the near future.

Beware of the charging practices of this hotel ... The room was fine, clean enough, etc. I booked this hotel for my son to stay one night. He checked out and the hotel charged us for an extra night, and at a higher rate. My son told me that he checked out a little late, but the front desk clerk told him it was ok. He returned both keycards. They didn't offer him a receipt. We noticed the extra charge a couple of days later. The hotel said that they would investigate and get back to us, which they never did. When I called again, they said that someone else stayed in the room and they would not refund the charge. Someone may have stayed in the room, but it certainly wasn't my son. When I called a third time telling them that I was going to have to dispute the charge, they took it as a threat and hung up on me. Never staying here again...

We stayed at the facility in the middle of May. If was basicaaly empty due to the Covid 19 issues. The hotel is old and in need of repairs. The hotel is generally clean, but there is visual deterioration to the brick and concrete. On one day the hotel staff failed to clean our room. They dropped off clean towels, but left the beds unmade and the floors unsweep. We returned to the room in the afternoon, pointed this out to the desk, which said it would be taken care of, but the room still had not been touched when we returned that evening. We have stayed in much better places in Fairfax in the past for the same money and will never stay at this facility in the future.

My wife was recently scheduled to appear at USCIS in Fairfax, VA to have an interview for US citizenship. We decided to book accomodation at Best Western Fairfax. Well, the USCIS offices nationwide were closed due to the coronavirus outbreak before we could attend the appointment, so we no longer needed the room at Best Western. Citing company policy, the manager at the hotel that both Hotels.com and I spoke with refused to offer a refund, partial refund, or a credit for future use (which we would certainly use when the interview is rescheduled in the future). This was an extremely disappointing outcome. At a time when people are dealing with such a terrible situation, this seems to me an obivous scenario to make an exception to your policies. Instead, not only does the hotel get to keep whatever money it will collect from Hotels.com for my booking, it can resell the same room to someone else. Great for them, terrible for my wife and I.

The front desk attendant was very rude. As soon as I got there, she told me that there was an issue with the reservations. She said the phone number she was given from the company that made the reservation was not properly working, but when I called the phone number myself, the phone number worked just fine. It was a company paid trip that the hotel attendant handled very poorly. I did not appreciate her repeated me telling me that the company I was there for seemed like a scam.

Disappointed due to outside entrance on 3rd floor and no elevator since we arrived too late to get a better room. Room however was clean and lighting was fine.Large vanity outside room where shower and commode was. Wi-fi and TV reception good; shower was nice but complimentary hot breakfast as just average and it was not ready until 6:30am. I prefer 6am breakfast sisnce I like to get on the road to my first appointment early.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nignts and it was a very pleasant stay. There is a pool which is very comfortable in the summer and the garden is full of tree and squirrel. The breakfast is insane...you would find whatever you want. There is a parking for the cars. The situation is good in Fairfax but you can go to Washington DC by metro or bus. Sincerely, that was a very good hotel and if i ever get the opportunity to get back there I would.

We stayed 2 nights next door at the Residence Inn, so we did not know what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. Sometimes, Best Western is not always so great, but this hotel is great. Although not quite as "fancy-schmancy" as the Residence Inn, it was updated, clean and very nice. Price was very reasonable. Would definitely go back.

We stayed 5 nights at the Fairfax Best Western. The beds are extremely comfortable and the room is modern and comfortable. The breakfast was terrific with many tasty options. The noise of the heating/cooling system was a bit loud but I didn't consider this a problem.

The location of this hotel is convenient to Fairfax City, George Mason University, and the highways. The price was reasonable but for me, I wouldn't stay here again. When I arrived, late and tired from travel, no one was at the desk and there was no way to get help. After about 20 minutes, someone unapologetically showed up and checked me in. The room was dated but clean. The next morning, I was really hoping to use the workout facilities that looked so nice online. What I didn't realize is that this hotel is motel style and I had to walk outside in 20 degree weather to get to this very small room with VERY OLD equipment. Prior to checkout I asked if I could just leave since I was heading to the airport at 4 AM and I was assured this was okay and that they would email me a receipt. I never received my receipt so I had to try to track down the hotel location phone number (which was surprisingly difficult) to ask them to send me the receipt. One nice touch they had was fresh baked cookies daily. Overall, this is extremely overpriced for the quality of the stay and I will be finding other places next month when I return to the area.

Really nice and inexpensive. Great free breakfast, hot and tasty. Clean rooms with lots of space. Every staff person we met was friendly, nice and willing to help. Close to lots of restaurants and other attractions.

I always stay at this motel twice a year when in DC. Motel is super convenient to I-66. Breakfast is great and has a large variety of great food. Front lobby recently redone and looks beautiful. Friendly and professional staff.

My wife and I spent six nights at the Fairfax BW. The staff was competant and helpful, the breakfast selection very good, and the room was clean. The motel is only 5 minutes from the metro which is quite convenient since we went into D.C. every day.

Recently renovated hotel, new carpets, bathroom tile etc. Older construction so a little room to room noise but the location is very quiet as there isn't any local traffic noise. Usual breakfast items. Right across the street from a bus stop or 6-8 dollar UBER ride to the metro, then 30-45 min to the heart of DC. Used this as 'home base" for a one week visit to DC and it worked out great!

Facility was clean. Building had nice updates- flooring, lobby, paint. Beds are "hotel" queen. Staff was great. We felt relatively safe - facility does have security cameras -unlike the Extended Stay. Prior stay at the Extended Stay included an attempted break in from a person using a pass card to our room.

I stayed at this property for one night, as that was the location booked by my company's corporate travel team. The staff was very friendly and helpful - no complaints there. The property itself is outdated and all rooms are exterior rooms, which made it feel more like a motel. The key card lock on my door lifted up from the door slightly, when pulled firmly. On the inside, the bottom part of the door didn't close all the way. It looked like the door was kicked in at some point. The room was clean enough to the eye, but the decor was very outdated - again, it felt like a motel. I wouldn't stay here by choice or for another business trip, but if you're looking for a cheap family room or room to just sleep in a night or two, no problem.

Stayed here a lot over the year. However this time it was louder and more noisy than normal. We normally have a room by the pool, however we got put in a room facing the street and heard traffic all night. The noise out in the breezeway from other occupants in the middle of the night.

Stayed here twice on our way to and from Myrtle Beach. On our first stay was given the AAA rate (CAA member), but on the return visit when I showed my card I was told by the lady at reception that they don't take accept CAA and therefore paid approximately $10 more for that stay. She said she couldn't do anything about it and that there was no manager around. Inquired about it at checkout and the gentlemen seemed surprised about the difference in the rate and took my information to pass along to the manager (that was 3 days ago, haven't heard anything yet). I also inquired of the same lady at check-in about a phone charger I believed I had left behind on the first visit. She was more concerned about chewing her gum and being on her phone than she appeared to be about providing assistance. "Lost and found" was looked after by housekeeping, she had no access and they wouldn't be in until after I had left the next morning. And again, no manager around to assist. The gentleman the following morning was much more pleasant and apologized that he had no access to the lost and found, but said to call back once I returned home and if it was there they would ship it to me. I called back but unfortunately it was not turned in. All that being said, I would stay there again if passing through the area. Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch!!

I got a very good rate for a three-day stay at Best Western Fairfax, on route 123. While the hotel is okay and has good rates for the area, I got a room in a passage that was totally dark. Because of the hotel layout, I guess regardless of your room, you can't really open your drapes because everyone sees you. So my room was pretty dark and depressing. However, the room itself wasn't bad at all. Bed was comfortable, and bathroom was the split type with the sink outside. Had a coffee machine and a small fridge, a flat screen TV, a desk and a comfortable arm chair. It was pretty clean, except for the bed cover which had a bad yellow stain. That's not very pleasant even if it was washed clean, and unnecessary. It wasn't a expensive cover to replace. It was kept on my bed the three days I was there. Breakfast was good. I don't eat much n the morning but looked around and they had a pretty good size buffet with plenty of choice. Breakfast room was pretty full by 9am. There was plenty of parking, and a small convenience store run by the reception desk. Unfortunately, this hotel does not have a restaurant, and the closest restaurants are the fast food type. Luckily it is easy now to order online.

A very nice Best Western, very reasonably priced for the area and top notch in every way. I needed a place to stay for one night while visiting friends in Annandale, I found this Best Western about 20 minutes away in Fairfax, it's a fine place to stay in that area, I highly recommend it. Plenty of parking and nice landscaping, everything spotlessly clean with well trained friendly staff. Superior breakfast is offered in a spacious dining area with plenty of tables. I had one of the rooms on the outside of the motel, on ground floor, which was really nice because I could park right outside my room (not all the rooms offer this, but I would say that it's a plus that they can offer a variety of room types). It was really humid August weather, and the a/c worked great. Overall the location is convenient, quiet, and easy to enter and exit with plenty of parking and not a lot of traffic to contend with.

Sandra was wonderful to work with for the group booking for our daughter's wedding. She was extremely helpful in trying to plan from California. Carlos was very helpful in getting us extra lighting. Front desk people were pleasant and helpful as well. While the hotel is older, it's been recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable and rested well. The breakfast included is a FULL breakfast.

We past Washington and made a reservation at the Best Western Fairfax... we won't ever do this mistake again. Ugly, smelly and dirty rooms (all 4) with so old beds, that nobody had a great night. We were happy when we left and felt really terrible. For 85$ a room/night you would expect something different.

I was cranky whenever we got there. For those of you who aren't aware, the traffic and road construction in this part of Virginia is an unblinking nightmare. But, the front desk staff was so efficient and friendly, the crankiness drifted away. It drifted away even more as I got to what appeared to be the most perfect room in the complex: A room mere feet from the pool, ground floor, right near everything. As I approached to check out the room after a long drive, I was stopped by a young man who was painting the sidewalks in front of the rooms. I was livid. How could they give me a room, a perfect room, and not allow me into it?!? I went to the front desk to tell them about it. They were reasonable. I was not. The guy at the front desk said it should be dry in about half an hour. I gave him a look. They gave me a different room. I handled the situation incorrectly and I regret that. The front desk staff was very kind, very polite, and very efficient. However! After seeing the pool traffic later on in our stay, I'm happy that we changed room. It would be hard to rest with all of that activity going on outside of our room. We were given a room on the other side of the hotel, and it was delightful. Not that this place isn't without its flaws...it could be picked apart, but for the price we paid, this place was great! The rooms offer plenty of space, the beds are comfortable, and the room was sparkling clean. No complaints at all about the room except the high definition t.v.s didn't seem to give the kind of definition to the images I'd have liked. It was a really weird reception. And that is truly the only negative thing I can say about the room. Maybe the bathroom was a little small, but it's a Best Western. If you want an actual throne in the bathroom, go to the Crowne Plaza...as for us...we work for a living. The Best Western was lovely. The other two features of this hotel worth mentioning is the breakfast buffet and the swimming pool. Let's start with the breakfast buffet. First of all, we need to unite as a a community of travellers, vacationers, tourists...and refuse to visit a hotel that doesn't offer a free hot breakfast. If we unite, there will be free breakfast for all, and this Best Western could show the other hotels how to do it right. The selection is quite nice, with the potato dishes changing everyday (although 2 out of the 3 days the potatoes had onions in them and I'm allergic to onions...not their fault my body is stupid, though). The pancakes were a bit blech and the eggs lacked seasoning, but with salt, pepper, and two kinds of Tabasco on each table, I like that they left the seasoning up to me. Also, the biscuits and gravy...it is irresponsible for a hotel to offer biscuits and gravy that good! The coffee was great with three settings...1. Cracked coffee bean in a cup of water 2. The normal, do your best to wake up kind of coffee and 3. WHAT'D YOU SAY TO ME?!? I chose number 3 and I'm not sorry. It was a great way to start the day. Plus, my wife and son loved the BW on the waffles. Yes! There's a waffle maker and we love it!!! And the star of the show: The Pool!!! This is the best pool I have ever used in hotel. It's a huge cloverleaf shape with the 8 foot section roped off. Not only is this pool taken care of immaculately, there was a lifeguard on duty every time we visited. The water was a perfect temperature as well. There was no better way to decompress after dealing with the heat and congestion of D.C. As we left the complex, we wished a tearful goodbye to the pool...the main reason we came to this particular hotel, and the main reason we adored our stay here. There are a ton of options in Fairfax, but I would defy anyone to find a better rate at a comparable hotel. One thing I know for sure is that the front desk service, the breakfast, and the pool cannot be beat for the price we paid for this place. If I ever come back to Fairfax, you can bet this is going to be where I stay.

My family went to explore DC and the surrounding area. We wanted to stay outside of the capitol so we chose Fairfax. The BW Fairfax is a nice property. It's a clean hotel with a good sized pool. The property is within walking distance to a few restaurants and driving distance to stores and restaurants. Also about 15 minute drive to the Vienna Metro station to get around the DC area. Morning breakfasts are actual hot breakfasts - scrambled eggs, breakfast meat (either bacon, sausages, hashed browns), starch (grits, biscuits, potatoes) every morning. There are toast, muffins, waffle maker, cereal, fruit if you want something else. There is yogurt and juice as well as coffee and tea. Very filling and very nice. We had a king sized bed and a sofa bed for our family of three. The sofa bed isn't comfortable - what sofa bed is comfortable? But the room was spacious with a microwave, coffee maker (with coffee) and a mini fridge. A flat screen TV mounted to the wall to amuse you. The bathroom was nice sized. The hotel is off a big street but we didn't really hear the noise from the street very much. The pool was freezing cold (how they kept it so cold in the heat of the day I'm not sure).

I stayed here four nights with my kids. It was a nice stay. All rooms look to be accessible from outside. Our room had a desk, sitting area, two queen beds, fridge and microwave.The sink was outside the bathroom. Plenty of hot water for showers. TV had a ton of channels. Room was clean and we didn't see any bugs. Staff was friendly. Internet was pretty fast. Breakfast: Eggs, waffles, pancakes, sausage, has browns, biscuits and gravy, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juices, coffee and tea. The grounds were kept clean. Pool was nice, but not heated. Not much within close walking distance, but there are plenty of restaurants and stores within a quick drive. It was one exit down from the Metro, which we used to get downtown. Traffic on the 66 was absolutely horrible most times of the day. Overall, the kids liked it and would stay here again.

Heavy traffic around hotel and hard to get in and out. Room size is good for family. Very friendly staff member at the front desk and helped checked us in and he was able to give us another room in the lower floor with no hassle

My husband and I arrived on a Saturday night in Fairfax from a evening tour in DC. We had booked this hotel for a week stay knowing we got it for a really good price but not knowing what we were getting into. When we checked in, we were told that we were on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator. We found out, though, that the entrance to the hotel was actually in the 2ND floor and we only had to go up one flight of stairs which wasn't bad. We were exhausted, but we had the best night sleep. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room has a tall, good sized refrigerator, microwave, & single serve coffee maker, desk for your laptop. My only complaint was they didn't have a lot of usable electrical outlets. They were used by lamps, etc. There are plugs IN the lamp stand, but I couldn't get my cords to stay plugged in. We had a surge protector in the trunk, so that solved that issue. They had a nice, well maintained outdoor pool that made us wish we had brought our swimsuits! It wasn't busy most of the time, but it looked really nice. Their breakfast spread was excellent... Not only in the amount of food, but the quality. Scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes (they alternated types daily), sausage, pancakes, waffles, biscuits, gravy, grits, cereals, steel cut oatmeal, donuts, toast, English muffins, bagels, assorted juices, coffee and hot tea. It tasted wonderful. You don't expect such good quality from most motels. There aren't too many restaurants very close to this motel, so if you don't have a car, you'll need to Über. We chose this hotel due to its close proximity to the last Metro train on the Orange line. Ten minute drive, covered parking lot that was $5 a Day to park. We became pros at the Metro and appreciated not having to pay to park and traffic daily into DC. OVER ALL, we really loved staying at this hotel and would highly recommend it!

Excellent hotel. Clean and well maintained. We had issues with the AC. But that don't impact my general perception of this hotel. I enjoyed the breakfast and the pool that include a lifeguard on duty from 10am to 10pm. It's very close to the metro (orange line) that allows you to reach DC in between 15 to 20 minutes. If you reach the parking lot at the metro afterb10am you will have plenty of free parking spots

I needed a place to stay that was close to Route 66 and far enough outside Washington, DC that it wasn't crazy expensive. I'm so happy I found the Best Western in Fairfax, VA. Located close to the interstate, this hotel is tucked away in the woods, making it peaceful and quiet. While the building itself has a layout reminiscent of the 1970s, the check-in area and all the rooms appear to be newly refurnished. The room I stayed in was immaculately clean and homey. I felt immediately comfortable in it. The king size bed was so comfy and the pillows were the perfect consistency of firm and soft. One of the greatest assets of this Best Western is its free continental breakfast. I stay at probably 20+ hotels a year, and I will say that Best Western is at the top of the pack when it comes to the free breakfast that is served. Hot scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, all kind of muffins and bagels, biscuits and gravy, and, a first I've ever seen, corned beef hash. Make sure to check in on Yelp to received 500 bonus Best Western Rewards points. I forgot until after I had already checked in, but Renee at the front desk, while a bit snappy on a Sunday morning, helped me to get the extra points. I really enjoyed this Best Western location and would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who wants to be outside the city and save a little bit of money. I know I'll be staying again soon.

Affordable hotel, beautiful outdoor pool, updated clean comfortable rooms, delicious complimentary breakfast, close to major roads to get to the D.C. area. It is a renovated older style hotel & a walk-up (no elevator).

This is a great hotel in Fairfax VA with good access to highways, shopping and restaurants. Just up the street is a favorate, PJ Skidoo's, good food and pleasant atmosphere. A nice feature of this particular BW is the option to back your car up to the room door to unload luggage. Another is the really great breakfast buffet which is like a restaurant setting in a room adjacent to, but apart from, the lobby.

At check-in we were surprised not to get what we booked. We booked a pool view room and got a room facing in a totally other direction (car park). Not even our preferences were looked at. After we asked we luckily got another room meeting our expectations. Our room was very spacious and it was clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good.

This hotel doesn't pretend to be anything it's not! It's clean, safe and convenient. Although the rooms are a bit dated everything is spotlessly clean! We stayed in room 251 and had parking in front of our room! We had a rental car so I'm not to sure about public transport but there are many dining options close by and the Fairbridge Mall is a short drive away with many many dining options! The breakfast at the hotel is great, fresh, good variety and helpful staff!! If you're looking for a great budget friendly hotel close to Washington DC this is the one!

If I could give this hotel negative ratings, I would. Had to make last minute reservations associated with a high school field trip. I allegedly got one of the last two rooms despite the parking lot being 60% empty. When I went to the desk to discuss the rate, I was assured that it would be billed at the same rate as the rest of my group. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the billing statement (dropped off too late to check out) and learned that it had NOT been adjusted. Spoke to Sandra who told me the clerk I spoke to was not authorized to make that billing adjustment. Isn't that the job of a front desk clerk? In addition to the questionable billing practices, the property was in need of refreshing and the room was elderly and dingy. Do yourself and your family a favor...stay somewhere else.

The staff was super nice. No problems with check in/out. Too cold to use the pool, but it looked nice. Room was clean, but a bit on the small side. Curved shower rod in the bathtub is nice. We liked having a fridge and microwave in our room. Best part was the breakfast! See photos below. It was one of the best (free) hotel breakfasts we've ever had! Lots of choices and the main meat option changes everyday. It was perfect to fuel our long days of sightseeing in Washington DC. We had: bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, sausage rounds, corned beef hash, home fries, grits, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, apples, oranges, cereal, flavour shots for coffee, biscuit and gravy. It was constantly refilled and we were very happy with it everyday. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. We stayed there for 5 nights and drove into Washington DC everyday to see Smithsonian museums and other attractions. It was about a 30 min. drive.

We arrived on an early flight at Dulles airport so we came to the hotel early. I asked Ms Renee if me and grandma could have an early check-in. No hesitations, she nicely accommodated us. I asked her if I could pay extra on breakfast instead of us finding a place to eat, she again very nicely said to not worry and we did get our breakfast there. I was concerned at first cause my grandma had difficulty walking and I had to assist her most of the time, so I was so relieved that Ms Renee had assessed the situation. Thank God for nice hotel employees. Breakfast was rewarding! Room was just right. Clean and nice. Overall our stay was just lovely, lovely....

If you require a handicapped accessible room, this is NOT the hotel for you. I made a reservation for 4 nights not realizing they did not have an elevator. Upon checking in, I was told they couldn't accommodate me for the 4 nights that I would need a room. The only accommodation made was for 1 night and they offered to cancel the rest of my stay. No attempt was made to accommodate my mother and I for the 4 nights. What is funny is this hotel had numerous 1st floor rooms that were not filled yet they would not accommodate me for my full stay. I am a Best Western rewards member and definitely would not recommend this hotel for anyone, handicapped accessible or not.

Compared to what I paid for this hotel in the same area, I think the hotel is underpriced. The hotel cannot campare to Best Western Plus or Premier, but it is nice hotel compared to other Best Western Basic level hotels. The location is just off the highway. Not too far away from Washington DC. There are lots of restuarants, supermarket, shopping malls within 2 km range. Swimming poor is not small, and it will be really good in the summer time. The wifi is really fast and reliable. Area for breakfast is big and has hot breakfast. I think usually Best Western basic level hotel do not include the hot breakfast. However, I think only one staff to take care of the breakfast is not enough. I can see the staff is really busy and when the peak time for the breakfast, the items do not refill as quickly as possible. Just wondering why there is no fruits like bananas and apples or yougurts included in the breakfast. And just wondering why there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, it cause lots of moistures. And windows are not good. These are not properly sealed, cause the air leaking through the windows and mold appeared through four corners of the windows. When I wake up in the morning, there are heavy moistures inside the windows. Overall, I think for what you paid for this hotel is worth to stay. However, if the hotel can make improvements on things I mentioned, it would be perfect hotel to stay.

Checkin was quick and easy, so was checking out. Front desk staff are nice and friendly. Didn't get a chance to have breakfast but I love that you can grab coffee at the lobby anytime. Room was nice and clean Thank you!

What I liked: warm and very clean room, location close to Udvar Hazy Air and National Firearms museums, large parking lot, ample seating in the breakfast room, reliable WiFi. There is a large pool with a fountain, must be pleasant in summertime. Several restaurants are within walking distance. What I didn't like: holes in bedsheets on both beds, most of food being gone by 8:30am on Saturday with no replenishment in sight by the time I finished breakfast. Room cleaning starts early on business days, before breakfast is over. So there is a chance you'll arrive after breakfast to find your room being cleaned, delaying your departure for the day.

This is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed in. Great overall value. Clean comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Good location. Lots of resturants in the area, many within walking distance.

We stayed here twice during October. We were checked in by a very pleasant young man. The room as advertised by Hotel.Com mentioned Courtyard Side, it was not available. We agreed road side, it was ok the first time we stayed. However the second time we stayed we were allocated road side again, it was terrible. We had no sleep until after 4am. The carpark was very very noisy during the night and the the road was even worse. The breakfast was pretty good here, well stocked by a pleasant lady

The mattress was old and tired and felt more like a box spring. It should have been replaced ten years ago. Don't stay here if you have back problems or value quality rest. The place is cheap which makes it a good option vs what else is around but the poor quality mattress isn't worth the discounted price.

We stayed just one night, and was provided the room with king size bed, sofa bed, full size fridge, and 4 burner stove top, micro wave. We were very thrilled to have had this room, we will be staying here again. Breakfast was very good too.

We were looking for for our girls trip, and the great reviews of the breakfast bar is what made us choose this location. Believe me it's true. The location was not far from the metro station. It's nice not to have to worry about trying to drive in all that traffic. Every person we encountered from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast room was very friendly. Maria in the breakfast room kept us smiling every morning. The only negative thing we found was the lack of a fan in the bathroom. Just thought it was unusual. Overall this location made for a great 'home base' for our girls trip to DC. Definitely plan to stay there again.

Great location in Fairfax VA for doing many things in the Virginia and the Maryland area. Rooms are very comfortable, and the morning breakfast is very good. There is plenty of parking near most rooms.

This place is horrible and I can't believe the reviews. It's dirty with poor ventilation. Do not stay here. Management is pitiful, and if you have a problem, don't expect manager onsite. Sorry, no refund! Deal with it. And I am easy to please...it's gross!

I've stayed hundreds of nights in hotels for business and this was the worst stay ever. Pre-payed for a 3-night stay. Checked in to find urine on the toilette seat and hair on the sheets and blankets. Didn't complain. Second night my key card wouldn't work. Front desk said they'd made a mistake and thought I'd only booked one night. Cut me a new card and let me back into my room without checking my ID. Third night I returned to find someone else staying in my room. Front desk said I'd called to cancel. Told them I'd made no such call but they insisted that I had. They said they had no idea where my belongings were and didn't seem to care. Turned out the hotel had reneged on the contracted room rate and tried to charge the credit card for more money. When that transaction was denied as not authorized, they had cancelled my reservation for that night and evicted me from the room with no notification. Finally got my belongings back - turned out they had them at the front desk after all. Everything was stuffed into my suite bag and apparently jammed someplace small based on the wrinkles. I was left standing on the street with no room, no apology and no wearable clothes the night before important meetings. I've stayed in this hotel six or seven times over the last three years and each time found the hotel fairly crappy but good enough for a short stay if all you want is a bed and a shower. After this experience I'll never stay here again.

Located one exit from the Vienna Metro station. The only line is the orange line and it gets you to the mall in 35 min. Not overly crowded even during rush hours.

We stayed overnight for a quick trip to the area. The staff accommodated my request for a king size room in the back of the hotel on the ground floor. It was raining hard and we didn't want to get too wet!

Room was ok, hotel ok, price ok. Breakfast leaves much to be desired. If you're staying here to take the metro in to DC, note that your closest Metro station is the LAST station on the line so it takes a long time to get into the city.

The rooms are dated and very humid. There is carpet, which appears to be aged. Their is air conditioning, but my clothes seemed damp and nothing was able to dry. On our second night we were awaken at 2:30am by the next room. I had to call the front desk 3 times before someone picked up. They told me they would call the room to tell them to settle down, which promoted the room to start hitting our wall and yell sorry numerous times. They never quieted down. The breakfast was OK, and location convenient, with plenty of free parking. Most of the staff were friendly. I would say this place has potential but needs to invest in its rooms. Would go someplace else next time.

Loved the pool! Request a Pool view room makes each morning and evening even more pleasant!!!! Breakfast was amazing! Thank you to the staff that works so hard to prepare it and keep it stocked. I am very satisfied with this hotel. Prices reasonable, great location to restaurants, local gym, clubs, etc. Stayed in Aug 2018 and would stay again. Also has a small gym with brand new machines, tons of parking on a very newly paved, clean lot, a pool in the centre area, and good all-you-can-eat breakfast with waffles, potatoes, bacon, sausage, toast, tea, coffee, and more. All of the service people here were very friendly. Great place!

We thought this hotel reminded us of an older-style resort hotel in Florida, with its beautiful pool and grounds. Our room was very clean, and we found the bed excellent, and with a choice of two softer pillows (rare in a motel/hotel) that we appreciated. The flat TV was good, the fridge was bigger than most, and quiet too, and the shower was in the top quarter of motel showers that I have encountered. We actually used the iron and ironing board that was provided. The only slight negative in the room was that the air conditioner was a bit noisy, but it worked fine. The breakfast had lots of options, and was in a large bright area with a full wall of windows -- very pleasant. The front desk was welcoming and professional. We would certainly come back here. Another plus is the access via Route 123 south to I-95, through a pretty countryside. Sure beats being stuck on 495!

Every year we attend a big conference in Fairfax and we stay at the Best Western. This year, it had been greatly updated which made it even better. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Our room is always just right and this year there were lots of new linens and other updates to the room. Breakfast room which is expansive had also been updated and there is a large selection of breakfast goodness which varies a little each day. This is a very large hotel complex that always seems filled up. We hope to be back again next year.

The beds were uncomfortable and there was hair on the sheets and pillows. We had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to our room. We were never told if an elevator was available. I also feel that the decor in the room was very out dated.

Great breakfast! Room clean! Good rate. Beds lacking in comfort but okay. Worst thing was the air in the room would not work properly, heat and fan worked but not the air so my husband kept having to get up during the night to turn the air back on making for a very restless night. Assuming if that was operational I would have rated higher and stayed again this weekend but I need sleep so I am not chancing it and staying elsewhere.

I chose this property for the ease of getting to metro rail to visit D.C. I loved the retro feel of it and it was well maintained. The pool was great, it was quiet and breakfast was excellent. I liked it was off the beaten path yet easy to get to the freeway. Our stay here made our visit!

I visited best western this weekend and it's a good place to stay for a couple of days. Its and average hotel with comfortable and clean rooms. The breakfast it's good, hot and cold cereals , scramble eggs , sausage, waffles , pancakes, coffee and juices. Obviously it's not a 5 starts hotel but if you need an economic, clean and a cool place for a couple of days that's it's the place.

My wife made this reservation and I think she was hooked by a low price. When we got there we were surprised to find out it is more of a motel than a hotel, i.e., the rooms open directly to the outdoors! There are no internal corridors. While there is a pool, we were visiting in latter March, so no benefit then, as it actually had snowed a few days before we got there. Candidly, though, the pool did not look very inviting. Free breakfast was good and location was fine for a GMU visit, but the room was kind of skethcy, the beds were BAD and the parking lot/road noise was noticeable. We agreed it would be our only stay there. We stayed at the Hampton in on our recent Orientation visit in July and it was a big upgrade for around the same price, so we will not be returning here to the Best Western for sure. I would give it a 2.5 rating, but system only allows round numbers, so I rounded down to a 2.

Set conveniently for automobile traffic and within walking distance to some restaurants and definitely with a few miles of really really good dining, it is also set in a pleasant green treed space. First, I was offered an upgrade which I took and my room was on the second floor, but a straight walk-in from the parking lot - no stairs to cart luggage up and down! Nice. It was large, clean and a very comfortable bed. I also overlooked their large pool which I took advantage of. Big and clean and warmish. If you get a room on the second floor, get from 220 down since the first few rooms look out onto the stairs and corridor. Even with the pool fairly close by, the room was quiet in the evening and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was good and I would say a touch above the ordinary hotel breakfast.

Nice hotel. They serve a good breakfast. Clean pool, our kids loved it. Unfortunately your not allowed to drink alcohol or eat at the pool. But that was the only minus. Beds were really great. The room quit big. Staf was friendly.

I stayed here at the end of June for three nights. My takeaway is this is a nice affordable place to stay especially if you have kids and drove to the place. Pros: Clean- Both inside and out the place seemed mostly clean Outside about 60%-80% renovated/modern still needs a bit of finishing up. Pool area clean well kept and staffed. Hours are family friendly. Breakfast seems nice I arrived a few minutes before close and things were a little picked over. But otherwise lots of seating. Staff were friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about the place. Bed was comfy enough and the location was very quiet. Bathroom was great- the bathroom was almost comparable to one you might find in a four star hotel. I appreciated the traction mat and the grab bar for accessibility. Parking is available- I did not have a car but I kinda wish I did. Mini fridge and AC worked great. Cons: The electrical in the room is a bit dodgy The primary room had two outlets and from these outlets electricity through power bars/ wall taps was being run to the lamps/ fridge/tv.When i laid down on the bed the lamp turned off. Because the power outlet was located right behind the bed with some sort of splitter tied into it. I unplugged this and plugged the clock in across the room. The location is about an $8 uber to the metro station. This is not a knock against the place but I found the public transit times a little bit unwieldy. I came back too late to use the transit every night I was there. My recommendation is if you are coming from the airport to not waste your time 1-2 hrs on transit and instead pay $30 for a shuttle it is money well spent. The interior of the room is about 40%-60% renovated/modern it needed some electrical work and the trim pieces on the walls had been secured with screws. The street where it is located is undergoing maintenance and as such the pedestrian signals are not working correctly. All things said and done I appreciated my stay at this hotel. If I did this trip again I would bring a family with me or at least a rental car. Oh and trunks I really meant to try out the pool. My advice to management is keep up the good work. Finishing details on construction/renovation need to be looked after and access to charging devices is a modern necessity. The location is not a hindrance it just needs to be budgeted in both time in cost. What I paid a day in transit I saved on hotel cost 10X.

We stayed as part of a bus trip and really enjoyed it here. Rooms were clean and comfortable with updated decor. Kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. The hotel was very quiet and within walking distance of some restaurants. In talking with the group leader, I learned that the excellent breakfast was provided at a very reasonable price. It helped us get a good start to full days of seeing the D.C. sites. We felt very safe here. All in all a great stay!

We always stay at the Best Western while in town for Rolling Thunder! They are very accommodating and priced extremely reasonable for the area. The breakfast bar Haas a lot to offer and the pool was recently renovated within the last year.

This is a very old building that is maintained well only in the reception and inside the room. The mattresses looked like they were replaced with in the last couple years and the room service cleaned the room every day. They also had a good range of continental breakfast. The down part is the doorways were very dirty having rough patches with the ACs leaking in the path. Also the statement "Not responsible for damages to the cars" was a little startling and made us question the safety of the area. Also there was no elevator in the hotel so we had to carry the bags through the dirty stairs. I would say this is OK for the price due to the maintenance and the hotel's location from DC where we actually traveled from there.

The hotel staff and management were very accommodating and made our stay a remarkable experience. We have been staying there for years because of location. They recently renovated the hotel and did a great job. We also requested an early breakfast for our group and they served a great breakfast for us. On that note they serve a very hearty breakfast and it's well prepared.

Must say that this hotel is 3 star, so don't expect 5 star quality. The staff was great and very helpful. The room was cleaned everyday whilst we were there, stayed here for 9 days and was out during the day and only there in the night. For me the room is spacious enough and never dirty. The free breakfast wasn't bad, but got accustom to my all-inclusive breakfast at other hotels in the Caribbean, however the food is tasty. The place is quite quiet and close enough to malls and food outlet. Had a vehicle so always reached these close destination within less than three minutes or so. The only downside was the pool as it was closed and secondly although it was closed and I understood the situation, the water was green and the pool was never cleaned. I believe it should have at least been clean once a week to keep up appearance, but to me it brought the place down, because it was very dirty.

Rooms were clean and serviced quickly each day. Ample parking and easy access from I-66. Breakfast was ample with many choices and food was well prepared, plentiful seating. Although the rooms and other interior areas were clean and in good repair, it is not the same outside. The pool was full of debris(it was before memorial day) and the the walkways from the parking to the rooms was in need of cleaning and repair. The price was a very good value for this area. The main problem with us was the staff who were not able to accurately give directions to restaurants, the metro station etc and one young lady gave the impression we were being annoying for asking. They gave inaccurate info also. Told us parking at Metro was free on Sat and Sun. not so on Saturday only Sunday. We would still stay here again, just hope they upgrade, clean and train some of the front desk in courtesy and accuracy.

I stayed here on business for one night. The hotel rooms and facilities are accurately represented on the website. Good value, and the breakfast was very good, but the staff were terrific. I accidentally left my very nice portable speaker in the room when I checked out. I've left expensive items in rooms in other places and never seen them again, even though I KNEW where I had left them. I called the hotel the next day, and the housekeeper had actually turned it in to the Front Desk! Then, they offered to put it in the mail for me (they even offered to pay postage! - I declined and asked them to run $20 on my cc and give it to the honest housekeeper). I am now happily back in possession of my speaker, thanks to the honesty and service of the staff at this hotel. It says A LOT about the quality of management/ownership. Thank you!

Not impressed with this hotel. Rooms are outdated. Stairs could use some repairs. Since the pool was not yet open it was all green. Breakfast was good with a waffle machine. Staff is very friendly and available.

We knew nothing about the Best Western Fairfax except what we had read on trip advisor. We stayed for 8 days and had no problems. Check in and check out was very easy. We received directions from the front desk staff several times. Enjoyed the breakfast staff and the food choices were certainly adequate. I especially enjoyed the pancakes available and the corn beef hash. Not a fancy hotel, but everything was clean and functional, very satisfied for the price.

We had a great 5 night stay at this hotel. Highly recommend the King Suite room for families~tons of room! Excellent breakfast and a quick 5 minute drive to the Metro station. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating!

Hotel was located very close to George Mason University, our destination. Clean with recently renovated lobby and breakfast area. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast offered many choices.

Stayed with my son on a college visit to George Mason University. Great value in a clean hotel conveniently located in Fairfax near the school. Staff was friendly and attentive. Plenty of dining places nearby but I'd recommend the 29 Diner around the corner.

I had to switch rooms 2 times and both rooms had dirty sheets. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. My kids refused to shower in the bathtub and my son wouldn't take a poop because the toilet had pubic hairs on the seat. I literally had to go out and purchase new sheets at 10 pm in order for them to sleep in the beds! horrible!!!!

Warm and friendly and perfect From the moment I walked into the lobby the front desk person Renée was so sweet so kind so helpful and understanding. The rooms were absolutely adorable it's an older hotel but it's rocksolid and everything worked perfectly and it was a beautiful room. They leave the pool light at night even though it's winter. The only problem that I found honestly is that the fountain in the pool does not work the owner hasn't decided to fix it so I'm going to contact the owner because it's important to fix the fountain it is a definitely will draw more customers. From the maintenance staff looking stuff for breakfast the housekeepers everyone was beautifully warm and welcoming. This is officially my hotel when I'm in town from now on.

We found this hotels to be very nice and very close to George Mason Universty. The entire hotel was updated and very clean. The breakfast had a wide variety of food, both hot and cold. The staff was very polite and friendly.

The room is a good size. The cleanliness is overall fine. The microwave is basic and the refrigerator is big enough to hold all I would need to store. The check-in manager was helpful and friendly. The W-FI is not secure.

My wife and I just wanted to spend the night out, and do some shopping in the Tysons Corner Center. We looked at this hotel just about 10 minutes from the mall, and very reasonable rates. It is an older hotel, with outside room entrances. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. The room was clean, and well kept. The bed was a little on the firm side, but comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and well stocked with towels. The in room internet was average, but it was free. The only thing in the room lacking was the faucet on the sink. It was an old faucet. That worked, but was stiff and little sluggish. The breakfast in the morning was very good, and hot. It did lack the availability of fruit, but other than that was excellent. The staff. At check out was friendly and fast. I would recommend this hotel to travelers.

We like that its safe, friendly and comfortable here. It's in a great location to get wherever we need to go. While it's not the most fancy place we've ever stayed, but for the price it is worth it. The best part is the included breakfast with a variety of foods and beverages. I'd love it if breakfast went until 10 instead of 9 am, but it's still worth getting up to enjoy.

We attended an event in Vienna and decided to pre book and stay over at the Best Western, Fairfax. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The check in, the size and furnishing of the hotel room,the cleanliness, the staff and the breakfast provided. We were both very impressed with this hotel and would highly recommend to everyone. I work in the hospitality industry and have stayed at numerous hotels. This one was impressive and at a very good price too! Do not hesitate to book.

We stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights, and were welcomed to a wonderful hotel. The breakfast was simply phenomenal, and they had such a great variety of food. The rooms were clean, and the overall experience was perfect. I would very much highly recommend this to anyone staying around the Fairfax or D.C. area!

The positives: Breakfast was great; front desk staff were exceptional. The negatives: The TV in the room did not work well, no TV instructions; the beds were super hard; and the biggest is there is no elevator for the 3rd floor, the concrete steps are killer.

I stayed over night with my family for a Service at Arlington Cemetery. I was greeted at the front desk late in the evening by the clerk who help us with our check in, luggage and answered all of our questions from breakfast to directions. The morning check out clerk was just as helpful wishing us well on our departure. A great experience.

Hotel was accommodating to you need of 3 rooms and worked to keep us all together. The Hotel was clean and friendly. The exterior landscaping was beautiful - just a few streets away is everything from food to Walmart.

Clean, comfortable, excellent full breakfast and wonderful service. We chose this particular Best Western because we had stayed there about a year ago. It is convenient and you get a lot of value for your money - especially the full breakfast. It also has a very nice swimming pool area for summer.

Lovely motel, opens to outside, which is hard to find, at least that is in good shape and in a good area! We stayed in a ground floor room and was able to park at the door of our room; room was very clean and bed was very comfortable; sheets felt like high quality sheets; I did not want to get up this morning!! Had a FULL breakfast and very large breakfast area and seating; it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it to others; also very reasonably priced!!

This hotel is a great deal with affordable rates. I selected the lowest rate and I ended up with a very spacious room. I had a living quarter/room and bedroom, as well as the required bathroom. I will definitely return to this hotel.

I do like it, the cable TV is plentiful and the breakfast is very simple. Room was comfy, there Abraham Lincoln portrait in our room. There the microwave, fridge, coffee machine, ironing board, water heater, plenty of towel. The swimming pool is beautiful also.

We selected this hotel because of price and adjacency to I 66 for a quick trip into Arlington and D.C. The hotel is like an old time Holiday Inn with rooms exiting to outside. BUT they have been totally refurbished, beds are comfy, everything updated. We were very comfortable and the walks up two flights of stairs didn't do us any harm. Construction in front of the hotel and for the hotel lobby made for a bit of traffic hassle but no noise for the holiday weekend. Breakfast was standard for the chain but the coffee was better than expected!

We were touring with friends and needed a weekday night room in the DC area. After previous good experiences with Best Western on this trip we decided to try the Best Western Fairfax as it had some of the best rates we could find, and it was in a convenient location. On arrival the desk clerk was very efficient and helpful. The lobby was in disarray as they are in the midst of a renovation. The hotel had obviously been there for sometime and I expect the renovations will eventually encompass the whole hotel. Even with its age, our room was more than acceptable and the bed was comfortable. The only problem I encountered was that the door lock did not work with either of the keys we were given. I went back to the lobby and got 2 new keys. It took a number of tries, but I finally got one to work. On check-out I reminded the desk clerk and she promised to get someone to look at the lock so the nest guest wouldn't have the same problem. The internet worked just fine. The breakfast was better than expected. I'd stay there again.

Poor internet. Aside from the lobby and breakfast, this place is more of a motel than a hotel. Room was non smoking but smelt like olf cigarettes. Carpet looked old and dingy but the bathroom was newly renovated and clean.

I highly recommend this hotel if you stay in Fairfax, Va. Not far from Washington DC and easy to get around. If you need to go to Arlington National Cemetery for services, not difficult to get to is. There is a beautiful large swimming pool (outdoor) on the premises. A life guard is on duty from 10 am to 10 pm.

Stayed for a few nights as daughter moved into to GMU. Good value for money with average to good breakfast. Ideal for our purpose and will stay again. The hotel does special rates for GMU families so do ask when booking. Will stay again.

This is always my "go to" hotel when I have to come to this area. Unfortunately, this time, the front lobby and outside areas are being renovated and has been quite noisy during my 3 night stay. The front desk is actually literally in the entrance to the lobby, temporarily, and I feel sorry for the personnel that have to sit there in the un-air-conditioned space all day to check in/out the guests. I called the desk at one point with a question and there was no answer. I let it ring and ring. So I'm sure once the renovation is complete it will be nice but right now is not a good time!

lobby was under construction and not available. Room was very stuffy - there were no operable windows. Only way to get fresh air was to turn on ac unit. bathroom light flickered all night and made noise. Probably the worst "Best Western" experience we've ever had, which is too bad since we've got exceptional value and comfort at many other Best Westerns.

Our son goes to GMU and we've stayed at this Best Western several times. Good value, not luxurious but clean and airy. Rooms open out to the outdoors so no stuffy hallways to deal with. Beware: all rooms are non-smoking which is great. However smoking is allowed on the terraces which all the rooms open out to. So if someone is smoking on the terrace the smell can drift into your room. On one of our trips I made sure the desk clerk knew that we are non-smokers and we were not responsible for the smoky smell in the room. They will charge you $300 for that smoky smell! I think they should not allow smoking on the terraces and only allow it out in the parking lots. We have stayed there several times and only experienced this one time but travelers need to be aware. The complimentary breakfast is ok not great. The lobby and restaurant were undergoing renovations last time I was there; I am eager to see the results.

for an overnight stay in Fairfax, this was a great hotel. the rooms are clean, the breakfast was sufficient and the staff were friendly. it is an older hotel with outside access to the rooms but we felt safe there. we will stay again, the value received is very good.

We ended up at the Best Western for a week after leaving another budget "hotel" unsatisfied with the accommodations. This was so much better than our original booking! We had a room with two double beds overlooking the pool on the third floor of the hotel and it suited our needs well. The beds were adequately comfortable, the microwave and fridge were useful, and the bathroom was updated. Fantastic pool and outdoor area. Convenient location. It would have been a great experience except for the fact that a large "group" of partyers were also present during our stay. Our first couple of days were perfect, but once the group arrived, the situation deteriorated. There were unruly kids overrunning the pool area ( I felt totally sorry for the overwhelmed lifeguard), the breakfast buffet couldn't meet the demands of the crowd, and the rude adults were up partying all hours of the night. Honestly, I couldn't believe how juvenile these people were. They were hanging out on the exterior balconies drinking at all hours of the night while their kids were left to their own destructive devices in the room adjoining ours. It was so noisy and loud on consecutive nights. At one point some super rude woman was actually leaning against my door smoking a cigarette and I actually nearly knocked her over when I opened it to tell her to please be quiet as it was 1 am! To the hotel's credit, they attempted several times to get these people to disperse and though they would temporarily,but then ,they would just resume their activity a few minutes later on another wing. We were offered a discount by the staff to apologize for the inconveniences and that is noble, but they need to be more selective with what groups they allow :(. Of course, I can understand why they would expect a girls' softball tournament crowd to be more respectful,but unfortunately they were not :(. Overall, we met some nice folks there that were not so rude and we would return again in the future.

Had a good time staying here. Booked at the last minute for nephew's college orientation, and nevertheless got a decent rate and a fine double room overlooking the pool. Air conditioning worked like a charm, even in the heat wave, so I was very grateful. Checking in and out was painless, and the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Was glad to end up there and will be back when college's family weekend comes in November.

We just returned from our week in the D.C. Area and wanted to give our review of this Best Western. The location was good. Not too crazy to get through with the usual congestion of the I-66 corridor and the people at the front desk were polite especially the blonde lady. We checked in on July 6th and stayed 5 nights. The beds were very hard, the shower never got hot and the refrigerator in our room sounded like it was on its last legs. The breakfast to me was nasty. Hard biscuits, bacon over cooked and the sausage was barely sausage. Nowhere near the quality of breakfast I've received from staying at other Best Western hotels. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool with a lifeguard on duty which my kids enjoyed. And the hotel is very close within a 5 minute drive to the Vienna metro stop so going to the national mall is convenient. Which brings me to my biggest complaint of the trip. We were in DC all day on Friday the 7th and upon returning the door to our room was open from the housekeepers. Who knows how long it had been open? My wife and I had valuables inside and being 500 miles away from home knowing nobody you can imagine how it would make you feel. The general manager was only willing to give 10 percent off just for one night! We got connecting rooms and spent $1000 and to only get what equated to a $20 savings is ridiculous. My wife and I had over $800 in that room. If I ever stay in the DC area again it won't be at this hotel. The only reason I gave it a two is because at least it was clean.

Have stayed here multiple times. Great value for a mid level, lower cost hotel. Close to GMU - easy travel back and forth to campus. Rooms have always been clean. Beds are comfortable enough. Bathrooms look recently updated. Nice pool. Decent continental breakfast included. Other restaurants, shopping very close and convenient.

Loud druggies allowed to loiter freely. When you call the front desk they are hesitant to ask the loud guests to move to allow other guests to sleep. If you want to party freely, loudly and do drugs, and not be worried, stay here.

This location is very typical for low-cost hotel/motel chains. The main building had a strange design -- up some stairs, down some stairs, back up some stairs -- no elevator. Clearly it was designed prior to the ADA. But it comes with the room comes with breakfast buffet, which helps, as there's northing else around for food. So if one is on Fairfax, and needs a place to stay, this is a place to keep in mind.

The decor of the hotel and of the room were a bit tired, but it was clean and had all the expected amenities, including a swimming pool (open 10 - 10). Staff were friendly and helpful whenever I spoke to them. Breakfast and coffee were both good. The only thing I did not like was how noisy the air conditioning unit in my room was - so loud that I had to switch it off at night in spite of 80+ degree heat outside.

The Best Western Hotel chain is one of our favorites, and this hotel was placed in a an excellent location, near an Interstate Higheway and close to the graduation ceremonies we attended. We also asked other family members to stay at this motel.

We stayed here twice during our tour to VA. First night - room was just ok and the TV did not work when we called the front desk - he was going to send some one to repair it - -well hour later - still nothing - so went to see what was up. He then said he would fix it himself when he could as he was busy - that is true at that moment - but when it was first reported he was fooling with his phone not a sole in the lobby. He seemed to have some CS skills - but chose to ignore me and talk to other guests behind me in the lobby - LOOKING over me. Really?? Two hours later he fixed it in two minutes.. geee.. Next visit went better - actually got a nicer room and everything worked. Breakfast was a bit better than most BW - hot buffet variety and had an attendant. Other employees seemed more professional.

The Best Western was clean, bright, comfortable, and convenient to the highway. We were pleased with a full American Breakfast buffet which was included in the room rate. Parking is free and the pool is very clean and well maintained. A very good value.

Nice hotel and staff, room wifi wouldn't work and I was on a work-ation but I had brought my personal jet pack so all and all everything was fine. Big room and the couch was a bonus. Shower was nice (we have well water with no pressure). Happy with everything and everyone. They were in the process of setting up the pool and it was big and looked like it's going to be nice!

If your neighbors are whispering, don't expect to get any sleep. If their pool is broken, don't expect to be notified ahead of time. I've stayed at this motel every time I visit D.C. For rolling thunder demonstration ride. I love this place. It's located close to a Harley Davidson dealer on Route 50. I ride my motorcycle every year here and wouldn't stay any place else. I love the breakfast included with room reservation. Breakfast offers wide choice of food. Eggs, pancakes, biscuit gravy, grits, sausage, and cereal. Also fresh fruit and muffins available. Various drink also to choose from. All the people at front desk are friendly, helpful and in my opinion set example for others to follow that are in the motel business. Rooms are in good shape. Fridge and microwave and coffee maker are provided in rooms. Swimming pool is well maintained. Laundry room doesn't have a change machine so stock up on quarters if you plan to do laundry. $1.50 wash and $1.25 drier cost. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that plans a visit to the D.C. area.

Room wasn't cleaned. When I requested service was told they'd "ask". No one ever showed up. Free breakfast was poor at best and served late. Front desk extremely unhelpful. I had to request information on early check-out. I needed to arrange for an early cab. I was handed the phone number of the cab company and told not to rely on the hotel staff to make the arrangements.

This was our second stay at this hotel. It's a great location for us to visit family in the area. The rooms are clean, if somewhat older. We stayed three nights and the room was always neat & clean when we returned from our day's adventures. Only draw back was a distinct smell of rotting garbage as we ascended the stairs to our room. Coffee was good (we don't do breakfast).

Great location close to Metro for going into DC. Orange line is very easy to travel into city.....don't drive unless you just have to. Friendly staff & very helpful. Better than most breakfast @ BW. Will stay here again when in area . Several good places to eat close by.

This hotel looks inviting from the outside and the location is great. However, the decor in the rooms is extremely dated, the hot water didn't last long and the walls are very thin - we could hear the conversation taking place next door.

My stay was comfortable. Room and washroom was clean , breakfast was nice and most room has a nice view of pool and garden. I stayed there for washington DC trip and a concert. Location was perfect for me. This hotel is value for money.

Prices for a king room were very reasonable. Rooms were very clean, but just a bit dated. There are not enough electrical outlets in the room for today's traveler. My brother brought his laptop for work, and uses a CPAP machine, along with trying to charge his phone and found outlets were too far from the bed for that CPAP machine. Cord was strung across the room. I rented 3 king rooms - for myself, my brother, and my daughter and her son. We all agreed that the beds were most comfortable and we got a great night's sleep. There is no elevator but if you can get a room in the 200s, you can park your car near the door at ground level, however they may all be kings with a sofa bed at that level. The 300 rooms have stairs and are above the 200 rooms. The 100 rooms are near the pool, and parking is just a bit away, plus stairs if you park near the 200 rooms. We were about 3 miles from the Vienna/Fairfax Metro rail system and used Uber each day to get to the station. Uber was around $7 - $10, not including tip. There was parking available each day at the station according to the signs, but we did not use it. Breakfast was the usual motel food with eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc. Food was good on real plates with real silverware. If you use Metro rail, keep your card as you can add money to it each day and save yourself $2 for the card. We also found out that you can ride the Metro bus in the D.C. area using the same card. We did not use this, so I cannot tell you how that works.

The hotel and service was great. Staff was friendly and rooms were nice. The breakfast that was provided was great. Food was hot and well prepared. The rooms were nice and the location was good. The hotel is not far from the downtown DC and traffic was not bad coming into or out of the city. I will definitely go back and stay at this Best Western on our next visit to the area.

It's not the Four Seasons, but it's an economical, clean place to stay. The breakfast is vast, and the Latina lady working the breakfast area greets you with a cheerful "Good morning!" and eagerly explains the food options. Such a friendly lady! Also, you can take a bus or cab to the closest metro stop, which is Vienna.

Value and quality in everything you experience. Just knowing I'll be staying in this Best Western heightens my enjoyment of the trip. From parking to check in to rooms to ambiance in general, you can not find a more satisfaction for the cost. Summers are my best time, due to the three leaf clover pool. Beds are spacious. Rooms are fresh and clean. Restrooms, top drawer. Cliental: travelers like yourself, assuming you are discerning, with reasonable expectations. The end of my work day is put back together in the environment of BW Fairfax.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. In my view the hotel whilst being clean it needs updating. Our room was on the ground floor adjacent to the car park and there happened to be a coach parked there. The driver would insist on warming the engine up for a good few minutes each morning, then you have the problem of guests wheeling their cases literally outside the window. None of this is conducive to a good night's sleep. Breakfast is basic and if you like stodgy porridge then you're ok, and I mean stodgy. On the last morning my wife wanted a yoghurt as she had the previous morning only to be told they ran out yesterday. However they managed to find one for her later. Can't fault the staff as I said the hotel needs an update.

Rooms are dated and in need of updating and minor repairs. There was a strong smell of deoderizer in the room on arrival. WiFi did not work and could not be fixed. Food is marginal - overcooked/dry scrambled egg. Poor quality sausage patty. No fresh brewed coffee.

The rooms are nice, but the breakfast could have more options. I stayed here for three nights and could see fruits just one day. I'd rather fruits to choose, as bananas, apples, oranges, these are cheap fruits and easy to storage.

Stayed one night. Convenient and close to conference we were attending. Breakfast was a plus. Room was clean except for used shower cap hanging on inside of bathroom door. Very pleasant helpful staff.

Though not the best hotel I've stayed in, it also wasn't the worst. Exterior/Outside of rooms is a little worn & dated looking as are interiors. But still a decent room. Microwave & mini refrigerator was nice. Young lady at front desk was very welcoming & friendly. Didn't get to enjoy the breakfast (that's included with price of stay) but it looked pretty decent from what i could see. For the price, it was a good stay. And I wouldn't mind staying there again if need be.

Can hear activities in adjacent rooms, King rooms need to be upgraded. Breakfast needs to be extended to 10am. TVs could to be a little larger. The rooms could be cleaner. There are nicer hotels in the area for equivalent price and better value.

The hotel, from the outside does shows its age. But the staff were so congenial and helpful and the room itself had been refurbished/updated. It was a delightful experience all around. Just wish it had been summer time because we could see the fountain in the pool from our room. :) Breakfast was more than adequate. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel staff was extremely nice. But we are glad we booked for just one night. All the rooms have outside doors. Did not feel very secure, glad I was not in my room alone. Room looked clean but very basic and smelled musty. Large fridge by hotel standards. Nice shower but water was not very hot. Biggest problem for us was breakfast. Doors open at 7am. At 7:35 my husband and I went to eat. Three college sports teams were just leaving for events. The buffet was decimated. We were willing to wait for them to cook more food, but we were told there were no more bagels, muffins, Danish, etc...only white toast. How did they expect to get to 10am with so little? They did have hot food (if we were willing to wait) and can make your own waffles. We decided to go out to eat breakfast at our own expense. We were not reimbursed since we had booked with a third party company online. Glad we did because it would not have been worth the AAA price the hotel quoted. There are so many hotels in the area that feel safer and are more comfortable. We would not stay there again. Oh...and watch out for the huge speed bumps as you pull into the parking lot!

We arrived with a prepaid voucher from a company that I have used many times around the US and Europe without an issue. This time, however, we were told by the front desk clerk and the manager that they were having problems with the voucher. After a long flight and other stressors, we were told that we had to give them a credit card and it was up to us to call the company ourselves to straighten out the problem. Nothing like making a customer relax, right? So after going to our room, I did the work of contacting the supplier who said that the hotel was trying to overcharge them by entering a higher price than the agreed deal between supplier and hotel, so they denied it. Why was this my issue as a customer? The room was clean, but drilling going on in another room. Breakfast had lots of unhappy customers when they began to run out of food and utensils as well. We are visiting again next week but trying another hotel.

Many hotels talk about continental breakfast but here you get warm breakfast which is very nice. I have stayed at five other hotels in the area and this one has the best WiFi. Location was ideal for my business trip. There are enough restaurants near by that you will have good choices.

Normally I don't write a negative review. Being an owner/manager of 20 rental properties myself I know how it feels to get a less than favorable review from a guest upon checkout. However after our experience with this Fairfax Best Western I just felt the need to update potential guests who might choose to stay there. Upon our late arrival check in they did need a credit card to keep on file for any incidental charges that might occur during our stay as standard procedure. We had arrived to Fairfax after a 5 hour drive, had a late dinner at the nearby Red Lobster and went back to the hotel to sleep as we had an early morning business appointment the next day. During the night there was a party in the room next door which didn't end until around 4:00 am. Before leaving for our early morning appointment after only a few hours sleep, we informed the front desk on our departure that there had been a party in the room next door to us #219 which had lasted until 4:00 a.m. Also we reported our room had a “bad musty stale” odor so bad that we had to keep our door open randomly to allow fresh air in. Several weeks after our departure I noticed a $150 charge from Best Western with an Aug 12 posting date (3 days after our check out date of Aug 9). I called them to see what this charge was for and was told there was evidence that we had “smoked in the room” (video evidence)?? I told her this was not possible as we are non smokers and did not smoke in the room. I mentioned maybe they were confusing us with the party room of #219 next door. After getting nowhere with this reservation desk clerk I asked numerous times to speak with the manager but was never given that option. She mentioned I should consider myself “lucky” as they could have charged us $300 instead due to damage to the room. She informed me that I would have to contact corporate Best Western and plead my case as they would not be offering any type credit due to their “evidence”. I then contacted corporate Phoenix Best Western to dispute this $150 with our facts. Corporate left a message that they had spoken to the Fairfax VA motel property and there was evidence that we had smoked in the room. They were supporting the motel property's claim that we had smoked in the room. After one additional call to the Fairfax VA front hotel desk we requested a fax be sent to us in writing stating the exact charges of the $150 and requested a copy of the “video evidence” they had to prove we smoked and damaged the room. We again asked to speak to the manager but was again denied. They did say they would send us a fax stating the charge of our smoking which they did. We have traveled extensively both domestic and international and have never booked a smoking room for lodging in any of our travels. It's not the $150 charge that upsets me the most….it's being falsely accused and not treated with respect when trying to explain to them that it was the room next door that was trashed and filled with smoke. This was terrible customer service and it should be reported as so. My goal is to let other potential guests to this Best Western Fairfax hotel know that there are numerous other hotel lodging properties in this same area for the same rate. I personally would never stay at this Best Western Fairfax again…or any other Best Western lodging option. Thanks!

Bathroom and AC unit were new and worked extremely well. Beds were old and squeaked. Breakfast was basic, but coffee needs improving. Staff was friendly, helpful & professional. The facility appeared clean, but there is no elevator in this 3-story building.

Located in a nicer area. I was a bit concerned about the exterior lighting around the perimeter of the property and parking lot. I parked under a tree and during the night it rained and in the morning the tree was actually laying on my car due to the rain. I would suggest that trees and shrubs get trimmed since there is a risk of damage to cars and I would suggest more lighting be installed on the parking lot to illuminate the parking areas that are very dark at night.

It was good for a one night sleep over. Rested enough and enjoyed breakfast which gave us enough strength for the rest of a trip to Gatlinburg, TN. Next time I would definitely choose this place for stay could be for even longer.

lite rail takes you a long way from motel but the cue bus at station takes you right to motel Excellent motel except for the complimentary breakfast. Food at the hot table was cold and many people discusted it and walked out. I ate all my breakfasts at Denny's a short distance away

We have stayed at the Best Western Fairfax at least once a year for seven years. Our kids went to George Mason University and we would stay at Best Western at the beginning and/or end of the school year and sonetimes for Famly Weekend. Meaning we stayed there during the motel's busiest times. And yet, I don't recall ever paying more than $105 (once) but most often, $99 or less. Tip: Book directly through the local property and not the Best Western reservation system. We found the system's rate often was higher than the property's rate. Tip: Join the Best Western rewards program. You get a bottle of water, granola bar and apple in a brown paper bag at check-in if you are a member. The rooms are nice for the price -- nothing luxorious and I guess mostly basic. We especially like that they have two queen beds and not the typical two double beds. The bathroom is small, which is expected at a place like this. The rooms come with a refrigerator and microwave, which is nice. Tip: Stay away from rooms on the ground floor that face the parking lot because of the exterior noise. Also avoid rooms by the stairwells. We stayed in one for one night and could hear the conversations on the stairs and other noises. Best bets are rooms that face the courtyard/pool. Rooms are on three floors. Top floor courtyard roms are quietest in our experience. Speaking of the pool, which is outdoors, it opens around Memorial Day and is a nice diversion. Another plus is a free buffet breakfast, although they almost always are out of several items when we are in the breakfast room. What food there is i'd say is average, but remember it's free. Another plus: I have found all of the front desk employees over the years to be very nice and helpful. There is no one with an attitude!

The hotel is centrally located, which makes it great. Although there is a LOT of traffic streaming by, the outside noises were minimal. The hotel is going through some updating according to a sign in the lobby. The room was spacious for the two of us and the bed was quite comfortable. A small microwave and small refrigerator w/tiny freezer, along with the typical hotel fixtures were available. The hotel is obviously in need of some updating as the 'hard' decor (bathroom) is older and a bit worn. Tiles around the tub faucet were broken, the tiles that were replaced when a newer curtain rod was installed are different than the surrounding tiles, etc. However, these were all superficial and the cleanliness was great! Staff was also fabulous, as I had mixed up the dates and reserved the room for the next day - he easily changed it to the night we arrived. All in all - a good place to stay when you need to be in Fairfax.

It was truly a pleasure to stay at this Best Western Hotel. I could not believe the great room for the even greater price. Everyone was so nice, too. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Fairfax, Virginia. Thank you.

We were dropping our daughter off at Georgetown. We needed somewhere to stay close by. We were there for the weekend. Our room was close to the pool and the fittness center which we were able to use both.

Clean rooms, very friendly staff. The breakfast was great. Definitely reasonable for the money. Drawbacks were that the beds were very hard and they used way too much of a very strong air freshener in the rooms. It's in a good location to access the area and George Mason.

Excellent peaceful hotel near Washington DC, peaceful surroundings, good value, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, helpful staff. The only real minus was a mishap with the electronic. Despite this mishap we took an extra stay at the hotel on our way home. It is so near Dulles airport

Great staff, clean room, great location and price was right. A lot of effort as put into the breakfast buffet. The pool area was relaxing and private. Parking was not a problem, area is safe and very nice. Convenient to all major roads and downtown Fairfax, VA.

I had stayed at this property before and I looked forward to a pleasant stay again. I am glad to say, I wasn't disappointed. The hotel was as clean as I remembered it and all of the amenities worked as I expected. I will definitely return here again.

This was our third stay at the facility. Very convenient to highways and public transportation (Vienna - Orange Line to DC). Awesome breakfast options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative was the response to a complaint about the noise generated by refrigerated truck.. My wife and I have made this our hotel of choice when visiting the Washington DC area.

Yes the building is old, but our room was updated, (except for old tile in the bathroom which was fine), and very clean. The room contains everything you could need: refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good; the usual hotel buffet breakfast. My one very big complaint is that even though the rooms are nonsmoking, there are ash trays on the balconies outside the rooms. So all I smelled all the time, even inside the room, was cigarette smoke. And when I went outside there was always someone smoking outside my room. There should be designated smoking areas away from the rooms.

This was a family vacation trip to tour the sites in Washington. We had never stayed at a Best Western. The decision was made based on reviews I read on Trip Advisor. It's a little weather worn, but it was very clean and room was nice. The breakfast was good and Gloria made sure all needs were met. I drank coffee from the lobby 3-4 times during our stay . I would recommend it for the location. It was close to the National Marine Museum and easy access to and from the interstate.

Our first stay at this Best Western. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice view of the pool area from our room. Breakfast was excellent (except they had run out of bacon!). Will definitely stay here again given the opportunity. Thank you!

We had a great stay at this hotel. We were able to check in early which was a plus because we were spending the day in DC. Front desk were very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we were happy. Room was good. Beds comfortable. The next evening we took kids to the pool which was nice. There was a lifeguard there , she was very friendly and helpful . Very nice stay we had .

Nothing spectacular with this hotel. Rooms are pretty old and smelly. If you have plans to sleep and leave early morning (after big and great breakfast) is a good idea to stay here. If you plan to enjoy the facilities, you are expecting too much.

Rooms were clean, breakfast was good. Pool was average and always had a lifeguard on duty. Location is good, near multiple eateries (Bombay Bistro down the street has good Indian food), and the staff was very helpful.

First, all of the staff we encountered were great. From check in to check out they were eager to please. The American breakfast is great. Way above and beyond of any other continental breakfast. A great assortment of choices. Gloria that ran the breakfast room was fantastic. She responded to any request promptly and went above and beyond to make the breakfast great. The hotel is a little older and in need of some updating. But the rooms and all of the common areas were clean and tidy. A great value for the price paid.

This hotel had doors opening directly to an outside walkway, so that is important to note. I was nervous our first night about security and safety, but that was unwarranted. We had zero issues. We had a first floor room on the corner, so you could hear people talking and going up and down stairs. A little annoying but nothing a noise cancelling app couldn't handle. Room was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and fresh.

I needed to stay at a hotel relatively close to Inova Hospital where my daughter was having breast cancer surgery, so I selected this hotel which was about 13 minutes away ( not during rush hours). The pros of the hotel were the front desk staff who actually went above and beyond meeting some of my special needs and the comfortable beds. Since I spent most of my time at the hospitall, I did not take advantage of many hotel amenities. But I did have breakfast on a few occasions. Although the food didn't seem to be hot enough, I was able to just pop it in the microwave. It had a really neat yogurt machine with good yogurt. Other than that, the breakfast was just average. The cons were as a single woman traveling alone and coming in late at night, I did not feel real comfortable walking from my car to my room because the parking and the rooms were not close, plus if you stayed on the 2nd level, there was no elevator. It could be more lit up in the pathways where you had to walk to your room. Although the rooms were typical, they did seem a bit dated by standards of other Hotels. All it all it was a great stay.

The hotel and our room were very dated and musty. There is not enough lighting in the stairwell going to the second floor. Maybe they have some updated rooms, because the photos shown here look nothing like our room did. The hot items on the breakfast were not done well. Feel theynwould do better by just offering a continental breakfast and concentrating on doing it well.

Great staff that went out of their way to please. Delicious complimentary breakfast. Bus stop close by that takes you to the Metro which takes you into downtown Washington D.C. Clean rooms and a safe place to stay.

Best place to stay at in the area... well worth the stay for various reasons... you will not find a better hotel at this cost or location in the entire DC area... This says it all... I'm only typing now to meet the minimum character requirement :)

Room was very clean. Well stocked with towels and washcloths. Bed was very comfortable. We had an end room, but still very quiet. Very nice full breakfast in restaurant that comes with the room charge. Staff friendly and helpful. Would have 5 stars if no gaps around the room door.

The outside of hotel is cute. The pool area even though the pool is in need of repair it is cute. We experienced a very bad odor in our room. We got in late and thought it would go away but it did not and we could not sleep. Restaurant windows were filthy and the front desk lady just made excuses and was condescending. She gave us a small credit but it was not enough for the bad night we had. We urged her to go to the room and see for herself. Don't think she was interested in doing so. Would not stay here again if given a choice.

My family and I stayed in 3 rooms, one queen sized room, one King and one ADA room. The AC in the King and queen sized rooms were amazing! The one in the ADA room wasn't working, however, the front desk was more than accommodating and was able to move my parents to another ADA room with a much better AC unit. The beds weren't very comfortable and the showers were a little tricky but other than that, the rooms were great. Not much of a view though. We didn't try the free breakfast as there are several breakfast places just minutes down the road.

Very old, not kept up, free full breakfast is usually out of food Management uses the person that cleans up dirty dishes as a server of food needing to be replaced and everything that is needed in the breakfast room. Poor management. Pool was dirty, no filter running, debris on bottom of pool.

My partner and I were coming in to town to spend time with family. We were trying to limit spending as much as possible. Best Western offered a competitive rate and had reviews that didn't scare me like some of the other budget-friendly options in the area. The place lived up to it! Staff was professional and nice, room was extremely clean, dining facilities were also nice and tidy. Breakfast was standard American fare. We're doing the no-bread thing so just filled up on potatoes and eggs. Coffee tasted like cardboard, but eh, I wasn't staying here for the coffee! Pool liked nice though I didn't partake. The only off-putting part was that we could hear shrieking kids in the pool during the evening, but it closed at 10 and then it was nice and quiet (couldn't hear guests in other rooms). The decor and facilities look dated but everything was in working order, so we really had no complaints. Free wifi plus fridge AND microwave in room isn't always standard, so I appreciated having these amenities. I would stay here again for these reasons and who really cares if the bathroom tile is straight out of the 80s??

Everything was wonderful at the hotel! The staff helped us with the bus schedule, furnished maps of the city, and answered any questions that we had. The breakfast buffet was one of the best that we have had. We will definitely stay there again if we travel to the area.

The hotel room was fine, I am just used to hotels with elevators and a little more room in the bathroom. We usually travel with lots of stuff so to find out after I got there that there was not an elevator was a surprise.

The owner apparently charges what he feels like regardless of the negotiated price when reserving the room. These guys are extremely dishonest and difficult to deal with. The fraudulent charges will be disputed with my bank.

Would stay again when visiting Washington, DC. Being close to the Metro stop made touring DC an easy thing to do. There are many restaurants nearby. Road construction in area is ridiculous, though! Breakfast was delicious and workers friendly and helpful.

The Best Western Hotel is great combination of value and economy. The beds are among the most comfortable I have slept in , over the last few years. The breakfast that is complimentary is delightful and varied. The Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The price is very reasonable. They have had my families business for last few years and will continue to have it, going forward.

Well decorated inside and out. At the time there were doing outside garden maintenance and the scent of the grounds work was very pleasant. There is an outdoor pool in the garden which looks lovely and inviting. I hope to return when the weather is appropriate. The breakfast service is one of the best I ever had. Close to the Interstate.

The staff was extremely accommodating to me and my mother as she is wheelchair bound. At check-in they allowed us to look at both handicap accessible and non accessible rooms. The handicap accessible room was exactly what we needed. They also has a hot breakfast buffet. Great value for the price.

Room was very clean beds were comfortable, you had to enter the room from the outside, there are no elevators so if you have issues ask for a room on a lower floor. I would go back again and ask for a room on the ground level.

We have been staying at this Best Western for several years now and have always found it exceptional. It is our "go to" hotel in the DC area. Staff are always accomodating; hotel is clean; breakfast room is the best we have ever had.

First know that I'm a hotel snob, so I wasn't happy when I got this hotel through hotwire. However, I took a chance and it turned out to be okay.This is an old style motel where you drive around to your room and walk outside the balcony. No inside hallways! The room decor was outdated, but it was really clean and odorfree. It had a microwave mini fridge, and flat screen TV. We only needed it to sleep overnight and were gone in 7 hours, so it served the purpose at a cheap price. Really close to GMU and very quiet. The breakfast was hearty and good. Self service with waffles, cereal assorted juice, oatmeal, toast, eggs,,turkey and pork sausage, biscuits hash browns and pastries. Oh no parking fees either! They are doing some remodeling and it seems to have a nice pool. Staff was friendly and efficient. Make sure you get extra bath linen at check in since it's a drive to the front of the building.

We stay here once a year when we come to visit relatives. This hotel is in a great location and easy to find. We were here when renovations started a couple of years ago and it's been fun to watch the progress. The rooms are not overly large, but are clean and comfortable. The pool is lovely. The complimentary breakfast is tasty and the woman who takes care of the dining area is a gem!!

There was some construction going on to the hotels roof but no noise and no issues with that. The construction employees were quiet and respectful. The room was clean and well stocked. The breakfast was presented nicely and very good. The bed was comfortable and when I requested another blanket was immediately given one with no issues at all. All the hotels employees greeted me when they saw me and were very nice.

We reserve our stay on Best Western website, and we received a confirmation when we called them. When we arrived, a big mention in front of the hotel said that AAA rate is available. We gave our card, and they said that we reserved through EXPEDIA so they do not give anything. I have never used Expedia for this reservation, never received a confirmation where it is mentioned Expedia. They said this is not the first time, and it seems that Expedia takes over their website some times ???When the room is not top notch, and we want to cancel after first night, they said again no, and since upon my arrival I signed a paper ( mentioning that Expedia is responsible of my payment), nothing else could be done!!! We were many to check out ( we were four couples meeting there for school reunion), either because the blanket smell vomit, or the bed smell urine, or the shower either is ice cold or so hot that you can get burned, because of someone in the room next door is flushing his toilet?!? What a disaster!!!

For the price this motel is a good value. The rooms have both a small refrigerator and a microwave oven. The beds are hard but livable. Few food choices nearby. Fixtures are dated but functional. Easy access to Rt. 66 just up the street. Breakfast is a sitdown meal with protein food choices.

I started visiting this hotel starting back in August 2015 and this has been our hotel every time we have gone up to see our daughter at gmu. Our last time there I believe was February, lol we have stayed so many times I don't remember the dates anymore, that's why I put our first time up at month visited. I'm coming in again in May. This hotel best western from the start has been nothing but friendly and outgoing to us. The lady at the desk knows us and is very nice and always helpful, so is the other staff as well. The cookies we get every evening is a great bonus and are delicious while we are getting our breakfast vouchers. Thank you all. Freshman year is just about over and sophomore will be here before we know it. ( in August). Thank you all again.

Clean with above average look and good breakfast. Staff was friendly and pool looked nice, although it was too cold to swim. Pretty close to Manasas Battle field and restaurants. Good security and responsive staff.

Great value for business. Close location and nice location in the city and major highways. Not many eating locations nearby and no hotel bar or restaurant except for breakfast. Otherwise a great value for the business traveler.

We appreciated having adjoining rooms because we traveled with our grandchildren. The hotel was quiet and the breakfast buffet was good, though there was not a substitute for milk for those of us who are lactose intolerant. The hotel was clean and the staff helpful.

People were not friendly, they were more concerned with their socializing at hand. We will not be going back there. Water running in bathroom, noise loud from outside, they start cleaning way early around our room so you can hear carts etc the room was clean.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised at how good the breakfast was, served in a restaurant. Big selection. Clean room and excellent bed. 30 minutes into DC and saved $200 a night. Choice of complimentary newspapers and quiet location. It was near capacity as the price was below the market in the area. Talked to several repeat customers at breakfast and all felt it was a well kept secret. Not for long at these prices. I'll be back!

First and foremost please know that I am giving 4 stars to a motel-hotel. It's not a Hampton Inn, Marriot or Hilton hotel. It's a lovely Best Western. Yes it has outdoor access but I felt completely safe. Friendly staff, clean and pleasant smelling rooms (did not smell like smoke). Free breakfast. My only complaint is I wish there were more vending machines lol. I stayed here for 1 night and was literally 4 buildings away from my meeting the next day. Clean and convenient nice sized rooms make this motel-hotel 4 stars.

We stayed here as a quick over-nighter booking it from outside the hotel. It is basic but very clean. Has a swimming pool that was frozen over in Feb (no suprise). Rooms are very large and have everything you need to spend a night or even a couple of nights.

This is an older "motel" with exterior doors/rooms. Don't let that scare you. Generally nice town/area. Hotel was pleasant and room was adequate. WiFi was good. TV was nice but channel selection was slightly limited. Great for my one night stay. Only negative was breakfast. While there was choice....quality seemed to lack a bit. Will I stay again....absolutely. enjoy!

I stay here twice a year. Wonderful staff, exceptional breakfast. Easy check in. The courtesy snack back at check-in is a nice touch. The franchise should export this management style to the rest of the BW inns.

I have stayed at this hotel more than a few times. Since my daughter attends George Mason University, the close proximity and GMU discount we receive make this place a no-brainer. Clean, comfortable, value, decent breakfast.

Best deal in the area. The Internet is good, rooms clean, complimentary breakfast excellent... You name it - no issues and much better price than you'll find elsewhere in the area. Relatively speaking, a good location to work around traffic. Several good places to eat close by as well as any other service you want.

Easy check in and check out. Very courteous staff. Room appeared to have been recently updated. Breakfast was superb with a wide variety of breakfast items including fresh (not powdered) scrambled eggs. Large dining area and an employee just for taking care of the breakfast area. My only suggestion is the entry and exit from the parking lot should be reversed.

We had nine rooms for two nights this past weekend. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful (especially when we requested a late check out for our bus driver). The negatives were the age of the room. It seemed very old. The noise of the room next year kept me up not to mention the folks in the parking lot late. Finally the bed was very hard. Will not be back even though the folks at the front desk were helpful.

Surprisingly clean rooms. Wonderful Customer Service. All employees were very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to accommodate our stay. The breakfast was very good and well stocked throughout the entire time. The hotel as a whole had a very clean appearance. I was very impressed and actually surprised. Usually Best Westerns aren't appealing. I usually stay at Marriott Hotels, but the basketball tournament I attended used this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They gave us suggestion for site seeing and eating. The hotel is close to the train station, easy access to the highway. Very nice breakfast buffet.

I have been writing Tripadvisor reviews since 2008 and have reviewed many hotels and resorts up and down the east coast and this is probably the only hotel I would never ever visit under any circumstances. I read other reviews that this was newly renovated and I don't know what area was redone but it certainly wasn't room 311. Our basketball team stayed at this hotel for a basketball tournament and it smelled heavily of smoke in my daughters room, to the point I had to bring a bottle of lysol over to spray everything. The rooms are small and not very clean meaning there were stains on the carpet and ceiling. The next thing I am about to write saddens me because I take writing negative reviews very seriously and I try to always put a positive perspective on a place no matter what. However, I would want to know this information if I were going to book a room here. The first night my daughter stayed at this hotel we were exiting the hotel and I drove around the back of the building and pulled off to the side to enter an address in my gps for dinner. When I looked over at the hotel where there was a set of steps in the back of the pool area and there was a rat walking from those steps into the courtyard/garden area back towards the hotel! walking not running. I immediately pulled up to the front door of the hotel and told the front desk clerk what I just saw and he said oh really? I said you may want to take care of that ASAP! He just stood there looking at me. Needless to say after this interaction I would never ever recommend this hotel. I don't know what else to say it may be cheap but not worth dealing with rodents and staff who don't seemed interested in fixing the problem. I am 37 years old and never saw a rat ever in my life besides a pet store until this weekend.

I loved the location and easy access of the hotel. The breakfast was top notched. Loved the fact they had coffee 24 hours a day. Wasn't okay with very poor reception on all channels of the TV. The heater was loud and did not keep the room constantly warm. Internet reception at the lobby computers were very very slow. However loved the fact the fact we could have something printed from the computer at the reception desk.

We often stay at Best Western hotels. This year we had a great rate at the Sheridan but my husband had stayed on previous visits here. The room was tired. There were no blankets just light bed covers. The breakfast was far better on our last visit. We both agreed, we would choose a different hotel on our next stay.

The staff are very professional and courteous. The rooms are spacious. The beds comfortable. The showers are clean. The breakfast is a real value. Fresh fruits, oatmeal, waffles are among the buffet choices. The dining area is clean and inviting. The service staff are kind, and extraordinarily polite and friendly.

The hotel was very clean. It had been updated recently with new carpet, new bedding, tiled bathrooms, and fresh paint. The room was warm and inviting. The size of the room was adequate ,and the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot were great additions. The price was reasonable. My family always picks this hotel when we are visiting GMU or going to D.C.

Very helpful staff, comfortable room, and everything worked. Tricky to get into or out of the parking lot, but manageable. The pool wasn't open, but seemed to be under construction or repair, which made it a bit noisy if you mean to sleep late.

We are very pleased of location of this hotel. It is very close to everything in Fairfax. Room was clean and bed was so comfortable but hotel looks like a little bit older. Also i think rooms needs to be upgraded it looks older too. But i can't complain we have stayed for 2 nights and i had very good sleep with beds.

We only stayed one night but were pleased with the room. Mattress was very comfortable. Carpet looked new or at least clean. Everything was in good shape and looked clean. Stay included full buffet breakfast, a nice option! Only two areas fell short, the room was marked No Smoking but reeked of smoke. We should have complained upon arrival, however we were just too tired to call, move to another room. The smell was so strong, we had to wash or dry clean all of our clothes, when we got home. Also, the tub drain was half clogged so while taking a shower, water was backing up in tub...yuck! But overall a nice hotel and I would go back, just make sure you do the sniff test before you settle in!

Good hotel for visiting Washington,near to metro station.Clean comfortable beds.Breakfast above average.Good restaurants in easy driving distance.Staff pleasant,good value,hotel pool being updated so will be one for next year visiting.

I stay this place every weekend from last Spring for business. Most of everything is not below of averge. However I feel comfort and this place the value of the rate Above averge!! Thank you! Have a wonderful day!!

Great value. We visited DC and wanted to stay outside the city along the metro line. Great choice. Staff trained well in hospitality. The hotel is under renovation but the room we stayed in was very clean, very comfortable with good amenities. Stay here if your in Fairfax. Easy on and off of Hwy 66.

Absolutely no complaints. Checked in for 4 days, 3 nights and requested a drive-up 1st FL unit. Room was clean and property well maintained. Great continental breakfast with all the staples you would expect (waffles, cereal, donuts, bages, etc.), but also had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and fresh fruit!! Definitely a cut above your regular hotel breakfast offerings. Location close to several good restaurants and just off the 66, so quick access for coming/going. Even so, property quiet as it sits off Chain Bridge Road and a bit removed from the freeway.

This hotel is Tremendous value for the money. The rooms are clean ,comfortable and well decorated. The beds are comfortable with ample pillows and the Shower head gives copious amounts of water. The breakfast is varied and delicious with a great variety. The hotel front desk is extremely helpful and attentive to any problem. The value for the product offered is an exceptional value.

I've stayed in over a dozen different BW hotels and this was the best! The breakfast and breakfast room were restaurant quality...literally. Hotel staff is outstanding - very helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi not so great, but it worked. :)

This was a very good hotel to stay at in the Northern Virginia area. It has easy access right off of Rt. 66. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is wonderful. The room was extremely clean and came with a mini fridge & microwave. We were very pleased with our stay & plan to use this hotel again in the future.

Super easy access to and from I-66. Very clean rooms with nice features. Breakfast quality is excellent and variety of items offered is outstanding. Staff is always friendly. Stayed here numerous times. Highly recommend.

Not a great hotel. The furnishings were dated and in fair condition, The pool area is closed but looks nice. For me, there were too many steps (only room on 2nd level). The staff were pleasant enough. I wouldn't seek out this BW again, but in a pinch, I'd come back.
