"Disappointed"
Make sure parking is available if you have people paying for it. Throughly clean the rooms. Fix the internet issues. Offer more snacks and drinks if you're not going to have a fridge. Open the restaurant up at night.

poor hotel, price high for what it is, parking full when i arrived, room small and old fashioned. Restaurant next door was full, so had to go elsewhere. Breakfast is ok. If the price would be half of what it was, i would say it is ok, but at this price, far overpriced

"Nice place for short stay"
Have stayed at the Best Western Hotrl de Ville for a few times, last time in December this year. Always nice to be back here. Nice restaurant with a decent breakfast. Ideal for a short stay. City of Aachen is nearby and it is a must-see when you are in this part of Germany. Hotel rooms are very clean and very tidy with a lot of space in them. Hotel is located near local pubs, town center and old town square.

"Bit overpriced "
The location is ideal, just few minutes walking to city central and many restaurants and few bars in surrounding. I reserved comfort double room for a single guest. It was clean and quiet, the bed was okay to sleep in but those pillows were horrible, as they had been used for years. They provide minibar in room, but they were no pricelist to find and no information at all whether they‘re complimentary or not. Sadly one bottle of water stood half empty in the refrigerator, so apparently they didn‘t thoroughly check everything before new guests check in. Not so a good sign for 4 stars. The furnitures had had their best years, perhaps modern around 6-10 years ago, but definitely was not thought to make the stay more comfortable. Forget about the Internet, with the quality of the WiFi, I think they should stop referring free WiFi in their commercial. Since I heard lots of good things about their breakfast buffet, I went there on the first morning. After 10 minutes waiting on the table, finally came 3 waitresses out of the kitchen at the same time. Still they didn‘t even have attention that I was the latest who came. So after another 5 minutes waiting, I decided to leave and bought my coffee somewhere else. The next two mornings I didn‘t even bother to have another try for having breakfast there. The Staff was average, can't say they radiate warmth and friendliness, at least they greet the guests with good mornings or evenings. For the price they set (more than 100 Euro per night for one guest) in a city like Eschweiler and for their 4 stars status and the average quality and performance, I think they overrate themselves.

Ideally situated... for a business visit ..lots of testaurants in the area. Rooms nice and clean coffe & Tea provided..lots of freebies. And soap and plenty towels available. very friendly staff. Good breakfast and service.

"Different room meant a much better experience"
Stayed here in September 16 & was not too impressed. Stayed again for two nights as it is convenient for the customer.This experience was much better. Finding the car park is still a a challenge as it is a little way away from the hotel entrance, with a small sign. But once found is underground & secure.Check in was easy, the guy on reception speaks excellent English & is very helpful. The room was spacious & this time the curtains worked well & kept the light out. Also I had a room at the back so much reduced traffic & delivery truck noise. All issues I'd had before. The minibar was welcome, the peanuts, water & Toblerone being good after a long day. The hotels restaurant was closed for my first night so I went to one the Italians across the road where I had a great meal. So good I returned the next night with a colleague. Good nights sleep. The shower is the only thing I would criticise, The shower mixer is in the middle of one wall & very easy to knock whilst showering. Turning it either freezing cold or worse scalding hot. Breakfast was great, lots of selection & a great choice of loose teas. Everything tasted fresh & the varied choices were excellent. Checkout on the second day was painless. So much better than my first stay & would certainly stay again.

"Lovely hotel at the end of a ten hour drive"
We were on our way back from Austria to the UK and decided to stop overnight in Eschweiler. I often stay in Best Western Hotels in the UK so I knew that we would not be disappointed. We arrived just before 21.00 and the restaurant was unfortunately shut but the Italian across the road made up for it. The room was very clean and quiet which made for a good nights sleep. The selection of food at the Breakfast Buffet was very good. Just what we needed for our drive to Calais to get the train back to the UK.

"Below average, restaurant closed, bumpy WiFI"
I am a Best Western diamond member so I usually stay in Best Western hotels when available in my destination. The Best Western Hotel de Ville seemed to be an OK deal with 90 EUR a night including breakfast. I got room 301 which is on the highest floor next to the elevator. What I liked - covered parking available however no sign says this is for the Best Western hotel (had to ask) and the price of 10 EUR / night seems to be high. A sign telling you that they will charge you double when you occupy more than one spot kind of reveals the general attitude in this hotel What I did not like - Restaurant was closed Saturday (because of a closed group) without prenotice and also no room service available, Considering that I chose the hotel because it was advertised with restaurant on premisis this is ridiculous - Restaurant in general closed on Sunday - Very dated rooms with old and heavy used furniture. The clock at the wall showing all the time 5 minutes before 12 reveals the general situation here. - WiFi available for free but a sign says that it might not be very reliable since they are in the process of updating it until end of May. Really? They need 4 weeks to update WiFi? - Check-in was quick but very much with a lack of friendlyness. Staff in general seems to not care about their guests. I think I did not hear one single friendly word while staying there neither I saw anybody smiling. - Breakfast is below average - ok food but nothing special. I will stay next time again at the Best Western Regency in Aachen downtown - it is maybe 20 EUR more expensive but so much more of the quality of accomodation I expect from a Best Western hotel.

"Great hotel at 15 km from Aachen centre"
Just great. Nice large rooms, very clean at an affordable price. Excellent breakfast (available on Sundays until 12pm). Hotel also has an underground parking. Good location to visit Aachen, Koln or Monschau. Try it you won't be disappointed!

"Great service "
Big rooms. Clean place. Great service. The breakfast is top. I do really recommend. Very polite and professional service. They agreed on providing us rooms very late with no problems and anyways with solutions.

"Nice hotel"
Value for money. Staff is helpful. Close to shopping centre and many restaurant nearby. Breakfast is good and tasty. Disadvantage is wifi internet is out of order during my stay. Stayed 6 night only first night had wifi although it is slow.

"No room at the restaurant"
Being a seasoned traveller, and a wheelchair user I can take the rough with the smooth, tonight though takes the biscuit...... I fly in from Geneva to germany , take a 1 and a half hour taxi ride to the hotel..... Budding F1 wan a be.... Hotel empty, staff of one.... Book in okay room small but good and clean and accessible..... Go down to dinner , it's 8 30 and I need a g and t and my stomach is growling at me . The restaurant is next door, so I go out and it's stairs everywhere.... Return to reception, how to get to the restaurant? Reply oh sorry there are no tables for another hour ...... What the hellI reply your joking , I'll go to the bar , oh there is no bar ......... Back in room now drinking yuck little bottle of wine waiting to be told a table is ready..... Not happy. . To be continued lol ...

"Only average"
Stayed here as it was closest to my meeting. The hotel is in the centre of Eschweiler, Hotel has its own underground parking. Check in was painless & the room was OK. Surprisingly with a mini bar which is unusual these days. Yet again no kettle or tea making facilities, I've stopped using hotel chains because of this. Drawing the curtains was frustrating, they are just too small, a few hundred millimetres extra would have meant some over lap. The area has quite a few bars & restaurants but for some reason they all seemed to be closed on the Monday, So I ended up in the Hotels restaurant which was next door. Food there was good & not bad pricing for a hotel. When I tried to sleep the skimpy curtains became apparent. The street lights outside shone in the room, making it quite bright. Also I overlooked the road which despite being quite narrow was pretty busy. Finally the Germans persist in having small duvets & weird square pillows, so all in all I didn't sleep too well. At around 5 am various delivery trucks started unloading so this woke me up. Breakfast was the normal continental affair, all fresh & a good selection. I had late checkout which helped & when I did it, was a painless procedure. In short OK, some areas are a german thing, like the duvet & pillows, but the minimal curtains are specific & annoying.
"Perfect for a comfortable night stop"
If you are spending a night in Eschweiler, I doubt you will find anywhere better. This large well-maintained hotel is centrally located a short stroll from the main cafe lined square, has secure on-site parking, the rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The reception staff are friendly. Apart from the awful coffee the breakfast was good, and there is a very pleasant Italian restaurant, Cesare, immediately opposite.
"Comfortable hotel"
Excellent hotel for weekend stay and central base location in town. Lovely choice for breakfast and very helpful waiting and reception staff. Room clean and tidy with all facilities needed. The only issue was lack of,tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Instead there was a central coffee machine in reception which was rarely working properly which lets this hotel down. Lack of bar facilities during our weekend stay but bars locally. Would stay here again.
"Good hotel to overnight during the trip"
I stayed there only for a few hours and appreciated the good location, a lot of parking space on the street next to the hotel and a spaciousness of the room. I was disappointed with the breakfast a little bit. Price was also rather high, as for this location and date.
"Best Best Western"
I like this hotel, it has everything, terrific breakfast, very clean rooms and a very good restaurant. I have stayed there many times and was never disappointed. It is in the center of the town, only minutes from the walking zone.
"Basic hotel : Small room, smaller shower"
Stayed one night on business. Room was small, with two small single beds. Shower was even smaller. Basic amenities : squeeze bulk wall mounted dispenser for hand soap and shampoo No iron or ironing board either. Breakfast was good.
"Emergency stop because of breakdown"
Found a hotel near to garage and hoped for best. Clean, spacious hotel, big rooms, sensible bathroom. Good breakfast, not crowded seating, but obstacles in the way ! Staff very friendly and helpful, after initial confusion over the booking.
"Comfortable stopping place"
This was our last stop before the ferry at Zeebrugge. The hotel was quite old but had been fairly recently refurbished. Our room was clean and comfortable. Good shower and bathroom. Ate at their De Ville restaurant and had the best Dover sole in a long time, very nicely prepared. Breakfast was good with lots of choice, I loved the bircher muesli. Good value for money.
"Very nice hotel located near fantastic Thai Restaurant"
Hotel it self is very good. My room had issues with wifi, but after short discussion with Receptionist I have received another one, better one with excellent wifi signal. Breakfast was good but typical one. There is a problem with the handle, for the first time I had to take sometime to open the doors :)
"Do not stay here if you need Internet."
Hotel is perfectly OK. Room is decent sized, bed is comfy, bathroom OK, view nice. However wifi is nearly non-existent. I have been using roaming on my phone as it is impossible to Skype. I'll probably spend 20 Euro this evening alone on phone calls that I should have been able to do online. The connection drops every few minutes, and even when it is there it's not great - do not expect to be reachable online from your family / colleagues / clients. I spoke with reception and the nice woman there said that is simply how their Internet is and she cant do anything. She was not in the least surprised that the connection was bad. If you need to stay here and need Internet, be sure to buy a local Sim card w/ net and bring it with you.

I have stayed here a number of times over the years. I keep coming back because this hotel has a lot to offer. Easy parking, large, comfortable and clean rooms with excellent beds. The restaurant especially deserves compliments. Not often have I experienced this high quality cooking in what's basically a middle class hotel.
