« Advertized as 4 star, more like 2.5 star »

Just don't expect a 4 star quality hotel, this is far from it. It's not really a bad hotel, the rooms are decent clean an quiet, the staff is friendly, but we are far from the level of luxury an comfort of a real 4 star hotel. The twin rooms are too small and basic, nothing 4-star like here. Expect more of a decent 2 and a half star. And therefore, negotiate the price, a lot. You're not getting 4 stars so you should also not be paying for it.

    « All perfect »

Perfect hotel for my business meeting in Grenoble Clean hotel, silent area confortable room and really close to my destination. Also good food on the restaurant! Free wifi access available and also free parking area

    « Very good hotel »

I really like everything in this hotel, the rooms are wide and has a very nice view to the fantastic green mountains of Grenoble, the breakfast is very good and the staff is very nice, friendly and supportive.

Stayed here whilst on business in Grenoble. I did not use much of what the hotel had to offer as I used it purely as a place to sleep. I would like to praise the wonderful & very helpful staff who went out of their way to help after I had left & realised I had left all of my valuables including my passport, in the room safe!! The reception staff were fantastic & arranged for everything to be safely couriered to me in another part of France. Excellent service and I can't thank them enough. If I am ever working in this area again I would not hesitate to return to this hotel. Many thanks. T.A.

« Great stay for seven days. »

This is a very good place to stay in Grenoble especially if you have an event at the Alpexpo convention centre. We were at a six day event at the convention centre and this was perfect. Simple, comfortable rooms with good cleanliness. Price in good relationship to the quality. Five minute drive from the hotel to the convention centre. This is not a luxury hotel and does not pretend to be one. It is a good value hotel that is convenient, clean and correct. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. This is what makes this a five star stay for me. Everyone, from reception to the breakfast staff to the dinner staff to the cleaning staff ... really everyone, is exceptionally polite and kind. The people really make you feel at home. You really feel that they want to help you to have a good stay. Kindness like this combined with a reasonable price and a reasonable level of comfort made this a great choice for us.

    « Perfect for us »

We visited with 25 youths as part of a rugby weekend in Grenoble. Staff were excellent. You can always pick holes in little things, but this has a great personal family run feel to it. The director was a lovely man, and Sebastian the chef was a pleasure. We were given the FCG room for team meetings and anything we wanted was taken care of. With 25 youths we had some minor noise etc , but they always came and explained and were tolerant to the full. Thanks to all the staff for a very memorable stay. « Calm, nice ,comfortable... I like it! »

I have been quite a few times there now. The staff is efficient, welcoming and very professional. They are on duty 24/7. The rooms are comfortable, clean with TV, Safe and fridge. Maybe they could be a bit larger ;-) The breakfast is good with some variety and good quality. Please never stop the fresh orange juice, this is awesome! There is a laundry service (return same day if given early enough). Pool looks cools even if I never used it. Terrace is very pleasant in summer. The hotel is very easy to access from the "highway" and the parking is easy and closed when late.

« Just for one night »

We stayed for one night and the hotel is perfect for a stay near the motorway but away from the noice. Rooms and breakfast were very good. Dinner was not so good. They did not have some of the main dishes on their fixed meny so they made some kind of fish mix that was terrible. I would happily stay there again but I would chose somewhere else to eat.

« Non-smoking hotel with smell of smoke in the corridor »

We always stay at non-smoking hotels since my husband is allergic. Therefore it wasn't so nice to feel the smell of smoke outside the room in the corridor at all times. The room itself was OK in size and the air-condition worked well. The bathroom was good and the bed was comfortable. This hotel is more a three than a four star hotel.

« Lovely staff, very comfortable hotel and excellent food »

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on our way to Antibes. Nestled at the foot of the Alps with lovely views of the snow caped mountains from our room. We found that all the staff were very accommodating and helpful, especially the people on reception when we arrived. Large free secure car park with plenty of parking spaces. The food in the restaurant that evening was excellent. I had the seafood platter. The quality of cooking was second to non. Pascal was most knowledgable regarding the extensive selection of wines as was Richard was most knowledgable regarding the wide selection of local and delicious cheeses. Breakfast was was a range of fresh local produce. Best of all was the automatic fresh orange juice maker (fruit press). Never seen one like this before. You feed whole fresh oranges in at the top and the machine cuts the fruit in half and squeezes out the lovely juice. Would love to have one of these at home, but don't think the grandchildren or I would leave it alone. We will certainly looking to stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended.

    « A great hotel for a stopover. »

I chose the hotel because it was near the major road system. It was an excellent choice for a one night stay. The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard and there was a good choice. Breakfast had a range of dishes although I opted for French bread and croissants. The only slight criticism is that the coffee was from a machine. It was o.k but not as good as fresh made French coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great value.

« Nice hotel with good service »

Stayed multiple times for business, rooms are comfortable and the service is a good standard. On the food side, the continental breakfast is good quality and varied, and the restaurant is reasonably priced and I've not had a bad meal there.

« Good value - probably better on week nights »

We stayed on a Saturday night and being the weekend the restaurant was not available. Also we felt the breakfast was limited choice. Probably both these issues would not exist on a week night. The room was larger than hotels at a comparable cost. Our dogs were welcome.

    « March in France »

Nice views of the alps. Nice pool for summer months. Close to business areas. Not very close to downtown grenoble Rooms are ok. Not the latest std but ok. Sleep is good and view from room is very nice

    « Excellent business hotel »

I stay here every time I visit Echirolles, since it's within walking distance of our office. Rooms are large and comfortable. Restaurant is very good. Breakfast choices are not overwhelming, although the quality is good. Overall, I've been very happy with my stays here.

    « Super Hotel »

It has been a fantastic long weekend. Thanks to all the employees of the Dauphitel always taking care of us. The personnel at the reception also very nice. You feel very much welcome. The restaurant deliver a high level of gastronomy, and a wonderfull breakfast, with real fresh pressed orange juice. We could eat outside and enjoy the beautiful terrasse. The room was very clean, with a very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Only positive comment to say, for a very reasonable price. If you pass by, try it. J-P Guilbert, Frederiksberg, Denmark

    « Clean and convenient »

I stayed at Hotel Dauphitel for 4 nights while on business in Echriolles. It was my second trip to Europe (though the first was many years ago) and my first time in France so my expectations of what a hotel should offer were biased by experience in the US. Some things surprised me a little but nothing was particularly disappointing and overall it was a pleasant experience. There are a few steps outside the entrance and another half dozen or so inside the door before you reach the lobby level. I saw no option to get to the lobby from the parking lot without going up steps. There is an elevator from the lobby to the guest floors but it is extremely small by US standards. The sign indicates it can hold four passengers but me and my large suitcase barely fit. I don't think a wheelchair would. The room was compact but adequate. The mattress was fairly comfortable but the pillows were very thin. Outlets -- round, 220V French outlets -- were reasonably accessible. Using an adapter from the prongs to US blades and a cube tap, I was able to put my tablet and phone on the bedside table to charge. The TV was a mid-size flat panel but I never turned it on to see the quality of the signal. The large flat panel in the lobby had a beautiful picture. There is a big step up into the tub. Hot water was plentiful. The shower head plenty high enough for my 6' frame. A major downside of the shower was that draft induced by the hot water caused cool air to rush under the curtain and blow it against my wet body. Quite unpleasant. There was no iron or ironing board in the room but I saw a maid with one in the hall so they appear to be available on request. Air conditioning was adequate -- unlike at a later stop on my trip. Wi-Fi is free and the signal is strong. It requires a daily log in on the hotel's web page. Breakfast buffet was included with my room. The coffee machine was a challenge for me. I ended up drinking hot cocoa with breakfast and getting coffee in the office later. Of course the bread and pastries were wonderful -- it's France! -- other breakfast offerings were a little odd to me (cold cuts and cheese). The hostess checks off your room number when you come down. After the first day, she remembered me and I didn't have to tell her my number again! I had dinner in the hotel one evening and it was quite good. The hotel is walking distance to Sud Galaxy office park and not a long drive to some other locations.
