    « Perfect locatiob »

Just when to visit the city and the location is perfect for the prices you pay for! Is very close to the Japanese neighbourhood where all the restaurant are! The hotel is oke. The rooms are clean, normal size and a but all fashion. The breakfast was good and was lots to choose from!

    « Great Location »

We stayed at the Savoy for 5 night in Mid-October. The three rooms we rented were clean, spacious enough, the staff friendly and the complimentary breakfast buffet was just fine. We are a family group of five who have traveled to most countries in Europe and Asia and this hotel was fine by all standards. It is not an Omni or a Hyatt Regency, but at half or a third the price, it is a great place to stay. We were able to walk to the Hauptbahnhof in about 10 minutes with luggage, which comes in handy for day trips. The Oststrasse subway stop was two blocks away, and the Old Town station was a 5 minute ride (two stops.) When in Dusseldorf, the Old Town area has dozens of restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and bars which makes for some of the best nightlife in Europe. Across the street from the Savoy is the Brauerei Schumacher, a classic German beer hall, that has decent food and is packed with hundreds of loyal patrons at night. The party spills into the street, and goes well into the night. Drop in and you'll feel right at home. All in all, we would stay at the Savoy again.

« Great location and decent place »

The location is great, I paid lot of money as compared to the normal rates as the hotel was going full for some exhibition in the city, would suggest to book early, the breakfast spread was good, the reception lady can talk English and hence good for no German speaking visitors, there is nice little pub opposite the hotel for spending some time in the evening.

« First Tour to Germany »

Its a Old Hotel but very comfortable stay for a week nice buffet breakfast spread, wifi is complimentary. Location is very near to the station & you have a store across the road which is open 7 days a week, where you can get most of you needs.

« A bit run down, but overall decent. »

The rooms are... ok, not wow, just ok. Clean of course but lacking of those details that normally make the difference. Also there is no restaurant (not a big deal, there are many on the Oststrasse) but at least the breakfast is excellent. The room was very cold and the AC seems unable to control the temperature. Better switch it off altogether.

    « Dusseldorf accommdation »

Well placed for access to the main station and the main shopping centre of Dusseldorf.... Decent place to stay, bedrooms big enough and tidy enough for a few days stay. SStaff friendly and helpful but is it the hotels policy to expect to pay 2 euros for half a small jug of milk ?. Clean, tidy but nothing to rave about

« Tiny Parking, Shabby rooms. No AC. »

I am a diamond member of the BW and expect a high level of standard. So when I stayed at 2 BW twice in a space of 2 weeks and found that both times I was cheated and lied to, I had to write a review about it. I contacted BW prior to staying with them and made them aware of certain requests which were verbally agreed to. Once I got to the hotel, the agreement was denied. I was also told that I had been 'upgraded' and that I would get free breakfast as part of my upgrade. But upon check out the other member of staff told me that I had a standard room and that my 'breakfast' was already included in the rate. After check in, I complained that the 25 degree heat was not bearable because the AC was not working. I was told this was a 'known' issue. I asked why I was given the room if they knew there was a broken AC unit in there, and that is when they started back tracking saying they had no idea about the AC unit not working. All I was offered was a can of coke or chocolate as a sorry. The parking space is only big enough for a tiny hatch back, if you have a car bigger than a smart car, you will need someone to guide you in and out of the hotel space! Breakfast was decent. I enjoyed that. Couple of shops in the near by area and the location was not half bad. shame I had a terrible experience with this hotel staff and my stay. Would not stay there again because of that. Otherwise, for the price, it was an ok hotel.

« Nice hotel near city centre »

Nice large room at great price. We had a comfort room with extra space. Breakfast was good too. Only downside is the price for parking at EUR 19,- Nearby there are parking-garages at EUR 10,- for one day.

« dayed hotel, poor breakfast »

The hotel and rooms were badly dated. stayed in a comfort single room I would have hated to see how bad the basic rooms were. Bed was pretty uncomfortable. Breakfast was just bad, staff did not clear or clean tables, some food and crockery had run out and the staff seemed not to care. Cheap but there is a reason.

« Great location, breakfast included »

The hotel is wonderfully located in the city centre with short walk to the central railway station. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, and liked the bed. Chose the hotel basically as they also provide a breakfast package (bed plus breakfast), which is useful for me as my employer pays then also for my breakfast. Concerning the official star ranking, I would rank this as 3.5 and not really 4. For the Tripadvisor ranking, 4 is correct.

« Enjoyable stay at the Savoy Best Western, Düsseldorf »

My brother and I stayed for four nights in a twin room on the top floor. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included in the price of our stay which was great and set us up for the day. The beds were very comfy and the room was spacious and clean. The location is ideal, just one block over in one direction from the Hauptbahnhof and one block over in the other direction to the Kö. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

« Three nights at this centrally located hotel »

When one has travelled around the world so much, I guess one's expectations always increase. I was a bit disappointed staying at this hotel. The room air-conditioning didn't work at all. In fact, it actually warmed the room ! Thankfully, there was small table fan in the room due to which I survived ! Strangely, even the hotel lobby wasn't air-conditioned. The room included internet charges but it kept going off every night and I had to keep calling the reception for a new code. I was given 6 codes in three days !

    « Great service »

Stayed here 1 night only. Check-in was fast and friendly receptionist. Roomspace was not too big, but definitely manageable for 2 ppl. Bathroom was very small, but we only stayed for 1 night so no complaints here. It was clean and the kingsize was comfy. The big plus is that they have their own parking garage. Small one though (so be careful when entering and exiting) with limited parking spaces. We thought we had to pay for the parking when we checked out (and we all know how parking in Düsseldorf can be expensive), but it was free of charge!

    « Ideal location!! »

We stopped in this hotel for 4 nights its in a great location for seeing the city, only a minute or two from the nearest stadtbahn station. Only 10-15 min walk from the altstadt. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The room and hotel in general was clean, tidy and well presented. Our room was on the 5th floor facing out on to Oststraße. I would recommend trying to get a very similar room, these rooms have a sloping ceiling and you'll probably bang your head, quite a lot but open the velux style skylight window and pop your head out and the view is great. Worth every time i bumped my head. I'd stop here again without question!

« Last minute anniversary trip »

Decided we were going to go away for our anniversary at the last minute. Chose Best Western as we have stayed in a few in the UK and had always been happy and we were not disappointed with this one either. Its a lovely hotel, very clean and welcoming. We arrived early and they were more than happy to keep our luggage safe until we could check in which allowed us to begin exploring the city straight away. It's very central and everything is within easy reach by either walking or public transport almost on the door step. The staff were very friendly and helpful and they spoke English very well. Check in was easy and quick and the room was very nice, and more importantly clean. There was a secure safe, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and shower gel/soap all provided. Bed was very comfortable. The only downside was that the air conditioning wasn't working properly. It was on but not emitting cold air. However we went to reception and asked for a fan and one was brought up to the room within 5 minutes. The lady came in and showed us the settings for the air con (we had already tried everything) but it still didn't work. At least we had the fan so it wasn't too bad. We were room only so didn't use the restaurant. We did use the bar though in the evening, it was very reasonable and again staff were friendly and helpful. Check out was also very easy and quick. All in all a lovely visit in a lovely hotel and we would definitely visit again and recommend.

    « Shoebox »

The room was unbelievable small, damp and dark. The a/c produced noise but not cool air. I would not recommend this hotel, maybe premium rooms are better, but they only had 1 room left at standard rate. To fill up 200 characters: bathroom door is damaged by water, color is falling off. Furniture looks old and cheap.

    « Would never recommend. »

It's advertised that you pay later. But they charged us before our stay! They took 2 double payments out of our bank account! It was impossible to communicate with them. When we checked out they refused to let us leave. Threatened us with the police and locked us in the hotel. We tried to explain that they owed us money and that they had taken nearly £500 out. They wanted another £250. We are still fighting through our bank for the second payment they took to be reimbursed. They only let us go when we had to pay again. The manager was rude. Unhelpful bully. I would not recommend this hotel or their management. We were petrified that we would miss our plane. After all the money we paid! We had a tiny room. It was hot in the room. No refreshments were available in our rooms. We woke up hot and thirsty. Double bed had 2 single duvets too. Such a disappointment and bad ending to our very expensive accommodation. Also if you do stay. Watch your bar tab. I met 4 people that had extortionate tabs on their room number. We had all paid cash for our drinks. Never once asked for it to be put on a tab.

    « Duesseldorf May 2016 »

The hotel was nice, with big room, an undeground station very near, but by walking you can achieve Konigsallee in less than 1 km. In the area there are a lot of chinese restaurants, The main rail station is just 700 mt far.

    « Nice hotel »

This was one of those arrive late and leave early visits. Taxi from the airport was ok and when I arrived at the hotel the reception team were quick and efficient. I was disappointed to find I had a smoking room but I guess that's down to the people who made my booking. Be warned if you are a non smoker this makes sleep difficult. For one night I got by. The room had WiFi and tea facilities. In the morning breakfast was ok. Check out was easy and the hotel had arranged the taxi as requested the night before.

    « Great Stay! »

I stayed last year at this hotel and loved it so much that I decided to stay again. I was there for six nights and it was really wonderful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The dining room staff was really terrific as well. They made me feel right at home with a delicious breakfast each morning. If I visit next year, I will definitely stay there again.

    « Rooms too small »

I have been there 1 month ago, hotel is good located close the center, but rooms are very clean but too small, quality -price is not correct, too expensive for this kind of rooms.Receptionist are kind

    « Disappointment. »

As with other reviews this was a very noisy hotel and even tho 2 emails sent to management after no action taken by on duty staff still waiting for reply almost 7 weeks later. However great Wifi and good size room.

    « Long Weekend October 2015 »

Having stayed previously in the Hotel Monopol opposite, the Hotel Lindenhof adjacent, one could argue that a stay at the Savoy was long overdue. After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor regarding the Savoy, I was expecting Dante's Inferno but it was fine. I booked a double room and it was clean and the bed was comfortable. (After a night on the tiles in the Altstadt, I can confirm on top of the bed rather than in it is also comfortable!) The room air conditioning was fully functional and the hotel is within walking distance of the Old Town and Railway Station. As for the minor faults, the bathroom door had seen better days and there was no kettle to prepare hot drinks, e.g. teas. In keeping with most German hotels, there were no complimentary toiletries and the bathroom soap was from a dispenser. So a travel kettle, shampoo and a tablet of soap are a must. While the mini-bar fridge was devoid of beverages, a carton of milk could be stored for tea making. Incidentally, the lack of these items in the UK would rank the hotel as a three star property, not four star. A couple of minor gripes. The Receptionist asked for my passport number on check-in. I haven't been asked for this in years; why bother when the room has been booked via Expedia and was guaranteed by credit card? The code for the Wi-Fi was on a till receipt; it was miniscule, faintly printed and easily lost. Surely a compliment slip would be better? The Wi-Fi connection was slow, so I resorted to my mobile phone instead. Given that data-roaming in the EU is relatively cheap, this wasn't too bothersome. A computer terminal was available in Reception for internet use and printing. Note, the hotel is arranged a central courtyard but with split level floors and stairs have to be negotiated. This may be troublesome for older guests. Price wise, came in at £163 with transaction fees, so approximately £80 a night for a Friday and Saturday stay, excluding breakfast. (Breakfast was not free and was chargeable, about 15 Euros from memory.) Overall, a reasonable stay.

    « Average »

Good sized room, but very noisy, bed was comfortable, shower was great. Breakfast was a disappointment, things were obviously not being replenished, and what was left was dried out. Staff were nice, good English. Good location.

« The best Hotel I ever stayed in Dusseldorf »

I have stayed in this Hotel many times because of its central location and superb service. Free very high speed WiFi just recently has been upgraded. The staff is professional and speaks perfectly English. Well done!

« Very good and Professional Service »

Welcoming Staff with a real Pro. Attitude! I liked particularly the way acted the staff when I needed to use their printer at my last moment,It helped to print my Boarding Pass to leave the country! Although the very comfortable room was much more than welcomed after 10 days of a strenuous trip in several countries and places!

« Convenient location, average hotel »

I visited this hotel for 2 nights. Location wise it is a 5-10 minute stroll to the main station and the shopping area / restaurants are also within easy reach. Perfect location for a short city break. However I would not say that this hotel is 4*. The room was compact and functional but there was nothing special to note about it. The linen and towels didn't smell particularly fresh which was a little off putting. There were a range of breakfast options offered however the hot food was dry and looked like it had been sitting there for a long time on both mornings. Overall the service received from the staff was very good, however the hotel needs a big makeover and some of the details need addressing.

    « Germany Road Trip »

Excellent location. Very good service. Rooms clean and tidy. Excellent choice for breakfast. Only down side, no restaurant and our room was situated next to the lifts, which are old and very noisy. Overall, a very good hotel, good value for money.

« Terrible for the money »

Admittedly we were paying a premium for Christmas market period but this hotel really disappointed. We paid 167.00 euros including breakfast. The two ladies checking in ahead of us paid 89 euros for a twin room- frankly this seemed a lot more appropriate for what was offered. On checking in the receptionist took a call as she was checking us in and just thrust a form at me to complete. Travelling weekly, I am very familiar with the routine and offered her my credit card while she still talked on the call. Finally, the only time she spoke to me was when I asked for wifi access codes. The room was no where near the size specified on my booking form( room 415). Our reservation said 23m square. When I called to complain about it and that we had zero wifi coverage ( kinda expected in a business room) I was told the hotel had full occupancy and they could not move us. Interesting as we checked in at 3;15 and I saw people still checking in at 10pm. The room was very cold with the unit only able to blast out cold air. The bed was a small double which was jammed into an alcove which meant you had to walk sideways to get to the bottom of it and one of us was squeezing past a cold, clammy heavy rubber curtain on the window side - not an experience you relish during the night in the dark. The cold draft off the exterior wall and window are felt from that side of the bed. The bathroom was bright and fresh but was essentially a very small shower cubicle - no bath. Not even basic tea and coffee making facilities offered in the room. I advised the receptionist I had no intention of paying for room/services we did not receive. Breakfast appeared very basic I would not recommend or stay again. Misleading on what is offered compared to the reality we experienced.

« Customer service spot on! »

Cannot recommend this hotel enough, the rooms are pretty standard but very clean and comfortable! :) the staff are what make the hotel very pleasant to speak to, very helpful, we arrived very early and they looked after or luggage whilst we went to check out the sights!! :) they printed our boarding passes went above and beyond and were honestly great people to deal with! The bar man (I forgot his name!) was awesome, lovely man! Very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us, took great pride in his job!! Lovely to see!! Hotel was very clean, and was just a lovely place to stay location was perfect as well for the Christmas markets :)

    « Modern room »

The room.was a modern date and clean room, a bright clean bathroom with a hairdryer and body and hair wash. Lovely powerful shower. Comfortable bed, impressed it was a full double not two singles, worth the money paid.

« Adequate. No more, no less »

Judging by the music on swr radio on the journey to Dusseldorf , Germany certainly likes the 80s. In the era of Bonnie Tyler, Nena and Jennifer Rush the Savoy was probably quite swish . The fixtures and fittings are all a little old, the lift creaks like an old cement mixer (do not book a room near the elevator) and the bar is overpriced. However, there are positives. It's a 10 min walk from the hbf station and the Koningsalle and just 20 min from the Rhein and Altstadt.

    « Classic best Western . »

I always feel that the ambiance of the Best Western experience throughout the world in my experience is of the mid 20th century both in terms of attitudes and decor. This Hotel, no doubt once magnificent, really does need an interior rebuild to do it justice. Four star --I think not.The staff are fine but the offering is flabby. Rooms are comfortable clean and well serviced . Bathroom has the one star, one soap fits all dispenser on the wall rather than .individual soaps etc. Excellent location with many local asian restaurants . 15 minutes walk to the altstadt and HBF < 1 K away . The opinion killer for me was the breakfast which was expensive and really very poor quality . Avoid! There are plenty of good cafes in the district .

    « Not a 4-star hotel »

I was expecting better but the hotel is tired and by comparrison my room was smaller than I'd expected. Really the place needs a facelift. Breakfast was pretty good abut didn't eat their at any other times. Bar was very quite and service slow at times - not a deal breaker - just you expect better.... I've stayed in better 3-stars and think I'll look elsewher for my next trip to Dusseldorf having said that I had no real complaints.

    « good- »

The room (no. 406) was not according to our expectations, it was small , the shower was very bad. We were disappointed especially due to the fact that we reserved the room 4 weeks prior to our arrival and we know that there are better rooms in the hotel.

    « Surely a disastrous hotel experience »

My 4-night stay in a 4-star Best Western was surely one of my worst hotel experiences I've had. I'll list my disappointments to be as objective as I can: - wifi extremely weak in the room (not in the lobby though) - extreme old cigarette odors in my room and mostly bathroom (I was on the 2nd floor, I think the ventilation system picks up the smoke from below) - could hear loudly the neighbour's television - no bath (but I guess 4 star in Dusseldorf carries less weight than I'm used to) - the wellness center was closed - the indoor parking is super tiny (good luck if you own a German car) and costs 16eur/night although it's free at night in the street (and the reception didn't tell me that when I gently complained the first night -- I researched the info myself and parked outside without any problem). - last but not least: I was sent an email prior to arrival clearly stating the cost of the room was going to be (tax included) 386 eur. I ended up paying 450 eur because "breakfasts were not included". The reception clerk would not accept the email I was showing her as proof of the price I was given, breakfast included. Truth: it's probably the HRS booking system that is faulty here, not Best Western. On the positive side: good continental breakfast. That's it.

« Annual Trip to Germany »

Excellent Location, but a bit of a trek to Altstadt, especially if you did the walk a couple of times a day. Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Bar staff were excellent, especially Natalie. Breakfast were fantastic.

« No air-con, leaking bathroom, not a great stay »

We arrive at this hotel with a sign on reception greeting us advising that the air conditioning is broken and will not be operating for a least another week. Thank goodness we are only staying for one night. The reception staff we encounter during our visit are engaged and helpful. But the breakfast room staff are a different matter. This is a tired hotel, with a bathroom that when using the shower leaks water onto the tire carpet. Not the best breakfast either. Overall, a disappointing stay.

« Great hotel in the centre of town »

We opted for the Savoy after considering hotels twice the price and would have no hesitation recommending it to friends - we'll definitely go back there on our next visit to Dusseldorf. Whilst we've stayed in hotels with larger, more luxuriously furnished accommodation, our room was comfortable, clean and quiet (much more so than many city centre hotels). The shower was great - no problems with weak water pressure at peak times, the WiFi worked fine, and the complimentary Sky TV was an unexpoected bonus. The staff were great - they couldn't do enough to help us from the minute we arrived. I've read some criticisms elsewhere, but can't believe they related to the team on duty whilst we were there. The Reception staff were friendly and keen to help us make the most of our stay and the team on duty at breakfast (especially Mr Joseph) were brilliant. The breakfast itself provided all the usual options and the 'English Breakfast' set us up for a long day of sightseeing and shopping. The location of the hotel couldn't be much more central for both - around 10 minutes walk to the main shopping thoroughfare on Konigsallee and from there just 5 minutes into the Altstadt. But don't miss a visit to the Schumacher Brewerei - just across the road from the hotel - for the best Altbier in town in the most atmospheric and authentic of setings.

    « Nice place »

Stayed over a weekend in Dusseldorf. Really central location to old town, good restaurants in the area. Service was very friendly, both reception and breakfast. Sure the hotel needs some updating, maybe a new bar area, re-paint the restaurant and get that Wifi going a bit faster. But overall a very pleasant stay.

    « Great Location »

Very close to metro station. Very good breakfast comparing other German hotels. Wifi was weak in my room. I usually used lobby for wifi. You can walk to AllStadt in 7~8 min. Very big parking lot 100mt away from hotel (it is close on Sunday). One of the most popular restaurant in Düsseldorf is cross the road, lots of cafes you can in 100 mt walk.

    « Perfect for a short visit »

Probably the best thing about this hotel is its location which is between the city centre/Old town (Aldstadt) and the bus station (where the buses from the main airport stop as well as the ones from Weeze). It's only about 10 minutes walk to both so perfect for sightseeing! The room was okay, we were on the top floor and only had a skylight which was a bit difficult to keep open (luckily it wasn't raining) but it was fine.
