I have been staying in the green isle for the last 9months and I have always found the staff very welcoming. When i come back from work my room is always tidy n fresh bedding all the time. I find the hotel has good options in the evening time they have a gym and swimming which is very useful and they also have a restaurant and bar.. the food in the restaurant is 10/10 for me n they do a lovely pint off guniness!! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in around Dublin it is cheap!!

My stay at the green isle is always a pleasant one the staff are always more than helpful and accommodating for everything that I need,Diana at the front desk normally checks me in she's always smiling and is more than polite and professional, the hotel always has a wide range of food being served in the bar and everything I've tried has always been lovely, the hotel also has a gym and swimming pool which breaks up the evenings I couldn't think of a better hotel to stay in for business purposes or leisure purposes

We have been staying in the green Isle Hotel for over a year now for work and I can honestly say you will not find a better place to stay both for friendly staff and for price also. We have got to know the staff over this year and we are always greeted with a smile and a friendly welcome. We love to check in with Diana at reception, she always welcomes us with a smile, she is very good at her job and she accommodates for all our needs. The rooms are warm bright and very comfortable. The bar area is also very nice, food is always very tasty with a good selection. Access to the gym and pool is also a big pro, it has everything you. Complimentary car park is a a big bonus as a lot of other hotels don't offer this. This hotel has everything to suit everyone from workmen to young families. Can't fault it on anything. 5 stars for us.

I recently stayed in the Green Isle, have stayed here a few times, on checking in staff were very pleasant and helpful, plenty of hand sanitizers around, most people wore masks including restaurant staff, room very clean, had dinner in restaurant, good value and food excellent, bar staff very friendly, hotel could with a face lift but I'm sure that will happen in time.

Robert M, Port Washington, New York 31/08/2020

Booked 3 nights. Checked in at 630am and was greeted by a receptionist at the checkin desk who was less than energetic and not professionally dressed. While being checked in a queue of 6 gathered who were a combination of in/outs. No social distancing requested or enforced. No one wore masks despite government mandate that all were supposed to. No staff, no customers were wearing masks. I went to my assigned room which had QR codes instead of menus and lacked pretty basic bathroom accessories. The room was poor and on the side of the motorway and extremely noisy. I was offered another but given COVID decided to stay put. The hotel at the time of my stay was largely occupied by building trade workers and in the evening the corridor was also noisy. None of the cleaning staff wore masks. I had a multi-night stay booked and checked out after the first night due to all of the above but most particularly lack of safety during COVID. Would not recommend.

Sheila Baird, General Manager at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Dear Robert it is very disheartening to read that your expectations were not exceeded during your stay and I personally recollect calling to advise you of a room move as we, at that time were quite busy and wanted to offer you the opportunity to avail of a superior room as you were staying for a few nights. I wish you would have contacted us directly and we could have shown you that we do, in fact comply with regulations where there are screens on the premises we do not have to wear face masks. if you would like to discuss your particular stay further please do not hesitate to contact me. "Lovely staff but needs modernisation"

CarmelF387, Wexford, Ireland 26/08/2020

Spent 4 nights in August. There are a lot of very good things about the hotel. All the staff members I met were pleasant and friendly. The hotel was busy but they took the time to chat a little. Food was reasonably priced and good, especially the chocolate muffins. The location is excellent and has good transport links to the city centre. Covid cleaning was thorough and there were plenty of sanitiser stations scattered around. The room was basic but clean. My big issue was the heat. It was so warm I couldn't sleep. I asked at reception if the air conditioning could be turned on but it seems there is no air con. I was given a fan which helped a bit but the room was stifling. Even with the window open, it was airless and very uncomfortable. I had to have a cool shower in the middle of the night. At reception a very nice lady said the fan was all that was available. In retrospect I should have changed hotels, but didn't. My room was on the 2nd floor. A friend had a room on the 4th floor which was much better. I have stayed here several times over the years but will not be back, which is a pity as the hotel has a lot going for it.

Sheila Baird, General Manager at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Good afternoon Carmel, So Delighted to hear that operations wise you were satisfied with the stay although I was disappointed to hear it was uncomfortable with the heat. We usually offer a room move if we are not full and try to accommodate our guests to the best of our ability. I am sorry to hear that you will not be back as your custom is of the utmost importance to us here at the Green Isle it is unfortunate during the summer months that some of the rooms which are located facing the sun can get quite warm. should you wish to discuss the matter further please contact me through guest relations. Thank you once again for your kind words and hope to hear from you soon Regards Shirley Foley Guest Relations

I recently stayed in the hotel and when i cam to check in i was greeted by a tall man with a beard (wasn't very helpful) we asked for room move which i was told wasn't possible. The next evening we went to ask again and spoke to Ronan who was very helpful and changed our room. We ate in the restaurant twice which was but very under staffed.

Laura McCartan, Marketing at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Dear shivver10, I am very sorry to read that you encountered issues while checking in, however I am happy that Ronan was able to resolve the issue for you. I have passed your feedback on to our Management team and we will use this to improve our service. Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We stayed in the Green Isle for our staycation this year. Things are very different this year. The hotel was clean with loads of sanitizing stations around. The rooms were cleaned every day. We were 2 adults and 3 kids and the room was plenty big enough. We ate in the restaurant 3 nights and the food was fine and plenty of it. We also had breakfast included. The only thing I would recommend if you are coming here for the swimming pool to book the swimming pool in advance . We only booked two swimming days in advance and found it hard to get the other days we wanted.

Stayed here for 2 nights and cannot fault the staff. They are excellent, there were 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 noisy kids. The resturant staff were great and food lovely and served really quick. The pool water was warm, only thing is u need to book early ( because of number restrictions at present). The rooms are lovely but my only advise would be if booking ask for a room not facing the motorway as the noise from motorway is really loud, even with window closed. Overall though great hotel outside of Dublin

"would not even consider booking here again"

User 20/08/2020

We were suppose to stay here for 2 night at the start of August 2020, We arrived late afternoon and when to check in straight away. When we got to the front Desk there was a middle aged man checking us. We were four young adults booking in, he had no bother make sure our rooms where near each other etc. He just about had us checked in when he asked us would we like to pay in cash or card, we said we would like to pay with Visa Debit card please, he said no problem and than started to make weird faces at us saying YOU cannot stay hear if ye dont pay by Credit Card. I told him i booked with visa debit and there was no problem booking it. He REFUSED us and told us we needed to book somewhere else. The real reason they refused us is because we are young adults that were staying for a few nights, we werent going staying there to go on a session. We went to do a bit of sight seen and a bit of shopping for our staycation. When I got onto customer service they were so ignorant didnt help us in anyway and didnt want to hear about. I know a few people that have stayed hear and i rang them to see what way they paid when staying there, they had all paid with card and visa debit. I WILL NOT BE BOOKING HEAR AGAIN. The same evening we had to find a different hotel and book into

Restaurant staff worked very hard, especially Shariff who was very welcoming. Room was spotless as was the hotel, regularly witnessed cleaners throughout our stay. Dinner and breakfast very tasty and staff always refilling food. Have been staying here for 11 years and this was our best stay by far!

"Nice staff but hotel not prepped re: Covid"

2
User 17/08/2020

Staff were lovely. Efficient check in. However the hotel itself is seriously under compliant when it comes to current covid guidelines. Drink as you like from the bar, which you queue up at. Order and pay for your meal at another counter. Breakfast in the morning isn't very well organised - buffet style for the cereals and drinks. Rooms were OK.

Laura McCartan, Marketing at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Dear Niamho1987, I am disappointed to read that you encountered issues during your stay with us, we are currently working hard to implement safety procedures. "Nice hotel and good location, not a good room layout"

2
User 12/08/2020

We booked the hotel for one, we weren't informed in any emails that the pool had to be pre booked, so that was a buzz kill! We entered the room and the child tripped over the camp bed and after a trip to A&E it turned out he'd broke his wrist, I went for first aid, the man was genuinely lovely, we filed in an incident form. I have emailed suggesting the position of the camp beds in the entrance of the rooms should be reconsidered but have heard no response. The entrance/ exit to the resultant/bar was not enforced and was totally ignored so no one was hand sanitising going in, the noise in the hotel at night was unreal, granted it was from guests but this seems to be an ongoing problem. The reception staff were polite and the breakfast was great!

Laura McCartan, Marketing at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Dear Navigator638228, I am very sorry to read about your son. Currently our Management team are looking into this as a matter of urgency. I am disappointed to read that you were disturbed by the other guests in the hotel, while we do ask that all our guests are respectful of each other at all times unfortunately this is not always the case. We are working hard to implement new Covid policies and have taken your feedback on board. "Lovely hotel pity about the clientele!"

User 02/08/2020

We checked in for two nights as a family to visit Tayto Park. Check in was fab, receptionist was so friendly. Informed us that all the pool slots where fully booked—apparently you have to book 5 days in advance however before we arrived I had emailed to be told you book on your arrival. However the receptionist got us booked with two pool slots to please the kids! Rooms where basic but clean and comfortable. Our first night was a disaster as the hotel was so noisy, doors slamming people running up and down corridor. I rang reception at midnight but the noise continued for a good hour after. Not ideal when you have two children trying to sleep. Breakfast was lovely, they catered very well for our gluten free child and had good options for her. All the staff we encountered where lovely and accommodating. We ate two nights dinner here too and food is lovely!!! We sat in the lounge on Saturday evening and it was like a cattle market—- full of really drunk people falling, and definitely a lot of dodgy goings on!! The hotel have bouncers but we Didn't feel safe so just left and went to our room early. However the staff did deal with the drunks well, I think management need to take a look at who they are allowing into the hotel. Overall great location to tayto, would we stay again? Depends if they sort out their clientele!! It's a pity as it could be a lovely Hotel, it is well decorated and the lobby is lovely to sit in by day but not at night!!

Laura McCartan, Marketing at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Dear Dream712521, I am sorry to read that you encountered some issues during your stay with us. this is not the high standard that we aim to achieve. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions the capacity of our pool at any one time has been reduced, to ensure this we have implemented a booking system. We are working hard to try and accommodate all our guests and leisure club members and are constantly updating the system. I am very sorry to read that the other guests in the hotel made you feel uncomfortable, while we do ask that all guests are respectful of each other this is unfortunately not always the case. I have highlighted your feedback to our Management team and we will look into this. Very pleasant and helpful staff. we checked in on Saturday the 25th of July. The receptionist was local and told us about corkagh Park which was very close. Our girls loved the playground there. All the staff from the leisure centre, bar, restaurant and reception that we encountered were great to deal with. Our family room was very large and clean. The built in wardrobe was very dated. The beds were very comfortable. We ate at the hotel for the three three nights we stayed. The food was good. The chicken supreme on the Wednesday night was excellent. I asked the waitress to pass on my complements to the chef. There was a two blonde staff in the restaurant who where particularly helpful. Saoirse(my daughter was also saoirse) was one I can't remember the name of the other girl. My only complaint in the restaurant is the kids menu is limited and charging 10euro for a kids carvery is extortionate! Other than that we had a great time exploring Dublin and the hotel is in a great location to allow this. We would definitely return to the green Isle hotel.

Laura McCartan, Marketing at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review

Val L, Tullamore, Ireland 28/07/2020

The hotel and it's facilities were fantastic. The reception and bar staff were spot-on, organised, friendly, helpful and very attentive. The restaurant staff were something out of Fawlty Towers. It was so bad it was laughable. Unfortunately we had to eat there every day as we didn't have Transport to go elsewhere. However it was so bad we started predicting ways the staff would mess up and turned it into a game. Unfortunately they didn't let us down and consistently gave bad service. One waitress scolded me for confusing her and messing up the order!

Laura McCartan, Marketing at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review

l0uw174, Banbridge, United Kingdom 23/07/2020

Location was good with good parking facilities. Check in was easy. Room was a good size (family room) however appeared dated. Shower rail visibly rusted, grubby rubber bath mat and grouting. One of the kids dropped a toy and when checking under the double bed for it, there was a broken lipstick lid and bits of paper which hadn't been cleaned from previous guests. 3 pin socketfor lamp was loose from wall and kettle element was rusted. Breakfast was good. We used the pool, it also appeared grubby with water line marks around the tiles. Would we stay again? Maybe for the location

I stayed here recently and cannot praise the management & staff enough. The customer service was like nothing I've ever experienced before. The room was kept so well - cleaned beautifully. The food - despite reduced staff numbers - was always delicious - pizza, burgers, steak & blt's - always tasty & always served with a smile. By far, the best part of my stay was the customer service. It really is a home away from home & I was incredibly well looked after. I'm so grateful to all at the Green Isle. Thank you for all you've done during these crazy times.

Lovely hotel, great amenities and spotless throughout the hotel. Also the staff are just exceptional! From the front desk to housekeeping, the managers to the bar/restaurant staff- everyone is just so pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend for business or leisure. Also had our work Christmas party here last year which was excellent as well, large space with great food, great set up, great band & a great night had by ball so would recommend booking for an event also.

I have stayed in the Greenisle recently on a few occasions I am a frontline worker and the hotel is catering for all essential workers and frontline staff . All necessary precautions are adhered to safety glass at reception tables in restaurant spread apart and excellent hygiene standards . I have to say i can only give a positive recommendation about this hotel .Staff have been highly professional and friendly from check in to check out like to give a special mention to Diana and Ronan and the friendly waitress in the restaurant . I have asked not to be disturbed during a the day as I work nights which has been honoured and found the hotel very quiet with double doors near bedroom corridors which helps with noise control . I have found the bedrooms to be very clean and comfortable . The Bar/restaurant is open for food daily and there is a takeaway option for coffee/ food also .There is a little shop in the hotel for toiletries snacks water etc very handy . Plenty of free parking on hotel grounds. Hotel also offering a very good rate and location of the hotel is so handy near N7 M50 .Also a local park if you need a stroll . So would highly recommend this hotel a home away from home during these strange times.

Being honest we were a little apprehensive about staying with the great price we were getting but omg the nicest breakfast we ever had. The nicest staff we could have ever wished for.anything we needed they couldn't do enough for us...it was my daughters birthday and we rang down for plates as we had a cake in the room and within 2mins a lovely waiter was at the door with plates etc. The manager even helped us with our bags to the car! The house keeping even went out of her way to have the kids teddy's neatly on the bed...lovely touch! We brought everything but the kitchen sink and she tidied it all neatly when she didnt have to. My kids had an absolute blast in the pool and it was a fight every day to get them out. I even got a few mins peace I'm the steam room. Seriously best mini break ever. We had a lovely big room. And could see all the coming and goings which was great as we were surprising my daughter. Thank you all so much. The bonus was the is a shop in the hotel to buy nibbles which is a blessing with three kids!

User 19/03/2020

Staff were so friendly. Went there for All Ireland rings weekend for the past few years. Everything about the stay was perfect, food, facilities staff. Great hotel to visit. It's a great place for running events or just chilling out for a weekend. Located on outskirts of the city so its ideally located if you want to avoid major traffic in city centre. Was really great value for money too.

I wanted to surprise my parents for their 40th Wedding Anniversary. I wanted to take them back to the Green Isle Hotel, where they got married in a March 1980. I contacted Hazel and she was absolutely amazing. She booked us a perfect room for dinner, created a 3 course menu and there was nothing that was too much trouble. Hazel organised bedrooms, balloons, candelabras and anything else you may have needed... Then I got to speak to Catarina... the most loveliest receptionist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She suggested that she would meet my Parents at the hotel when they arrived, welcome them to the hotel and show them to their ‘surprise party'. It was perfect. Looking after us was Restaurant manager Masum and the lovely Kelsey! They both looked after us so well, served us delicious food and joined in the fun with our party. As we checked in to our room, we had the pleasure of being looked after by Niall. An absolute gent who was so welcoming and so kind in his manner. We had a wonderful party and felt so well looked after the whole night long. Next morning at breakfast the lovely Ester was at hand if anybody needed anything extra! What can I say... except it was a WONDERFUL night with WONDERFUL food and served by WONDERFUL staff. Thank you thank you thank you x

We stayed as a group for the County all Ireland rings for the weekend on arrival reception staff were very welcoming the rooms very very clean and comfortable the food could not be faulted however the bar staff were not experienced to facilate the crowds that were there older staff members were very friendly to people who had returned for the competition for another year some younger bar staff were unfriendly and cold over all the stay was very pleasant and we will return

I love this hotel! Reception staff are very attentive. Nothing is too much trouble from requesting an iron to asking for a fridge to house insulin. The rooms were spacious, spotless and homely. The food is outstanding. There is so much to choose from and all of it delicious. The bar is spacious, clean and attractive and the hall facilities for our annual event were fantastic. We can't thank the Green Isle enough for their brilliant hospitality. See you all next year!

"'Four star hotel' seems to be a title used very loosely"

3
GACFoodie, Ireland 08/03/2020

Not a four star hotel. A but grubby looking and draws a rough crowd. Everyone smokes at the entrance. Good if you are there for an event and good craic in the bar but not suitable for a relaxing quiet stay. The Maldron is supposedly 3 star but maybe the ratings should be switched around. Go there for a clean hotel and quiet stay.

Check in (at 930pm) was a bit slow. Training was ongoing but happy to be patient. Took 15 mins to check in. Got Room key but no card receipt - had to ask for this. Had booked breakfast but was told no breakfast requested. Proceeded to room. Swiped and would not open (Checked room on card as written) - was wrong room as woke guest. Tried to similar room and got in. Set up and then TV would not work - problem with aeriel Room was a bit smokey but proceeded to sleep and head to work following day. Chanced it on breakfast and i was booked in. Parking was free which was good. rooms were clean. Next night stay was same but was only using room to sleep and was tired to complain. Checked out fine.

Poor standard for 4 star, bedroom very badly furnished, cabinet doors with broken hinges, burn marks on the carpets... Lack of breakfast food options for non meat eaters.. The list goes on ... The one redeeming quality here is the wonderful staff at check-in/out, in the breakfast area and the two cleaners I meet, friendly and helpful

We have stayed here on a number of occasions primarily best of access uo Luas into Dublin. Checked in during afternoon, had a swim, had early dinner (basic food, no frills ) went to Theatre with our granddaughters. Back in time for late drink. Breakfast in morning before leaving to return to Clare in the afternoon. Nothing flash, kids liked the hotel. Clean and user friendly. Bar staff were the flagship of this hotel

Booked coz was cheapest on website but was really nice. Swimming pool basic but ok. Food in restaurant was a little bland but breakfast was good. Room nice and clean. A little hard to access from Dublin city side as you have to go back down the moterway to come back to then exit to hotel. Staff very friendly.

We stay here all the time out of pure convenience, we started venturing to other local hotels but came here again for a try, and aren't we glad we done that! Ronan was beyond amazing, we have never felt more welcome anywhere, we travel A LOT, but this is the best hospitality we have ever received, Ronan could not be more hospitable! He alone is a sole reason to come back. Would also recommend going to ‘Abby' the waitress for food orders, very accommodating no matter how fussy you may be! Thanks to staff!

"Weekend stay at the Green Isle"

Ceini0g, Wales, United Kingdom 21/02/2020

Our base for two nights whilst in Dublin for rugby international. Based on the outside if the city. Difficulty in finding the hotel as google maps have the incorrect post code. Greeted by guest relations manager when we arrived and it was obvious that he enjoyed his job - lovely person. The hotel had arranged a bus shuttle from hotel to city centre for the rugby on the Saturday morning - €15 return. €10 one way. Room clean and comfortable with one double and one single bed in it. We ate at the restaurant on the first night - salmon was tasty. Breakfast was not included in the price- paid €12.50 each - a bit pricey. Good base for the weekend.

Stayed with the kids who had there own room. Excellent check in very friendly guy on reception really fun with the kids. Room no complaint at all. Leisure facilities excellent. Wonderful breakfast ,though staff at breakfast could have been bit more cheerful. Was surprised on one thing, was in the lift and a member of housekeeping staff , young guy did have a hygiene problem. Then started talking about the staff and management to me how they are all mad and no good very strange. All in all though a great break. Well recommend. James

Worst hotel I have ever been at Staff is very rude and acts like they are giving you a favour talking to you Also my car got broken into overnight at theyr multistorey car park and nobody seems to care or try and help you Also note this is the 3rd time our vans and cars got broken into and never anything done about it My watch and my roommates perfumes went missing aswell after we accidently left them in the room This is just a gathering of things that happens during last few months I do not recommend this hotel to anybody They treat tradesman's on lower standards than anyone else

What a brilliant time we had as a family ,the staff could not do enough for you. The Hotel was spotless, their cleanliness was next to godliness. The entertainment was exceptional .There was a brilliant swimming pool where you could buy a swimming costume if needed. We had a coach to Ireland with Edwards Coaches, we had a brilliant Driver his name was Charlie and he couldn't do enough to help you, he took us in to Dublin every day. The sights were brilliant and the stories of Ireland were fascinating. We went to a bar called O'Donnell's ,we met some lovely people and the people behind the bar were very friendly and fast serving.

"Nice hotel, poor location"

4
User 13/02/2020

My boyfriend and I went to Dublin for 3 nights and upon reading reviews of this hotel we assumed it was in the centre, or a short distance away. However, when arriving in Dublin, we were told by several people that we were miles away and would require a bus pass for the time we were there so that we could get into the centre and back. Taxis from the hotel to the city centre (around temple bar area) were 20/25 euros and a taxi to the airport was 50. It was so much hassle trying to get out and about as the buses were only every hour and stopped running after 11:30pm. Although this isn't entirely the hotel's fault, I do feel that their description on the hotel site is very misleading as it is not an ideal location for young couples such as ourselves or anyone else wanting to go out into the city centre at night. The hotel states its 0.9 miles away from the city centre, this is not true and I would recommend staying elsewhere if you're not going to stay local. On the other hand, the hotel was fantastic and staff were welcoming and friendly, couldn't fault them at all. If the city centre does get boring, I recommend going into the local village Clondalkin as there's so much to do and plenty of bars and live music acts, it was a nice change from the pricey drinks around temple bar.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 night location is good parking was great reception was very helpful and nice our room was very clean and housekeeping was very good the only negative part was the leisure centre we visited the pool on day we arrived as kids want to go swimming we had nowhere to put our stuff safely while we were swimming as we have to pay 8euro to use a safety box in changing room total rip off the dressing room were so dirty used towel everywhere and crisp packs and sweet paper on floor the pool itself looked fine bit small and dated we went swimming I noted a black line around the pool and look closer at this and it was a line of dirty around the pool it was disgusting I got my kids and partner and we left the leisure center. Numerous people smoking at the entrance to the hotel. Literally constantly from our 4pm check in until 9pm when we last passed through. No one in charge of the pool, hence loads of young lads who live in the area having the run of it. The bed mattress was very poor and the plug stopper in the bath would not release. Diane P, Llandrindod Wells, Wales, United Kingdom 03/01/2020

Lovely clean hotel, with great facilities, unfortunately it's not very welcoming, it's very clinical, money making establishment. More designed for Business Clients. The staff made no effort to make me feel welcome. My husband and I went there for 4 days for New Year Celebrations, which was a waste of money, it was boring and very impersonal. I was very disappointed, that we did not receive a warm Irish welcome. I could not even give you the name of any of the staff there. It was quite a way out from the City right on the side of the Motorway, whilst the room we had was lovely clean and comfortable, it was very noisy from around 4.30 am till after midnight. There were no smoking signs quite clear by the entrance to the hotel, which was disregarded by many of the residents and was not policed by staff. There were rules everywhere, don't do this and must where a cap if you wanted to use the swimming pool, no explanation as to why, never seen this before in my life. So had to purchase a cap each. Notice in the bathroom, about theft of towels, which I just found insulting. For a 4* Hotel,I would say more of a 3*.

It wasn't great. Barely good. People drinking at all hours everywhere. People throwing up outside on New Year's Eve. Radiator had no knobs. Called and they said they would turn it on with a wrench. They seem to struggle to keep things under control. Fine for credit card points, wouldn't choose it if I was paying. I would like to say staff is great, but some of them treat the customers like they owe them something.

"Disappointing service"

1
User 30/12/2019

Firstly we rang 3 times to book a last-minute stay. Each time we were told to ring back and ask for Ronan but each time he was busy. On the 4th and last attempt we were finally able to make the booking 2 hours later. We were both disappointed with no apologies for such an inconvenience on us. When we arrived we went to the check in desk where we received the most unwelcoming check in we've ever experienced. We also received wrong information one being the breakfast times. When we went up to our room we were pleasantly surprised as the room was very nice and spacious. We went down to the bar for food at 8.30pm. There was so many staff members working yet not one greeted us or gave us menus. We sat down ourselves and got menus ourselves. Eventually our order was taken by the waitress who again made us feel very unwelcomed. The nacho starter was nice however we both found the pasta to be very cheap and thrown together. Also the picture on the menus is very misleading as the finished product is not the same. What shocked us the most was just after we received our mains the waitress dropped down our bill without even offering a dessert/tea/coffee. We were both appalled. When paying the bill with a different waitress, I explained my disappointment but her only response was sorry the kitchen is closed. Myself and my partner both have worked in hospitality before so we're understand when the kitchen has to close but you would always explain this and ask the customer if they would like anything else BEFORE dropping the bill. The next day we went for a swim where we received the same unwelcoming experience at the desk where we got our towels. We do understand it's hard working at Christmas time but it's not hard to even give us a smile and be pleasant. Lastly our check-out experience was exactly what we expected. The lady asked us rudely "where are the keys?". She also never asked us how our stay was nor thanked us for staying. I would have liked to speak with a manager but throughout our stay we never even seen one manager. If a manager would like to get in touch I would be very glad to speak about this experience.

Bar staff, Paschal, Saoirse, Matthew and Bronagh were very attentive and friendly. Roman in reception is a credit to the business, so professional and efficient with excellent customer relations skills. Room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay, excellent facilities and carvery in the restaurant was fab. Thank you Bernard for a great stay again, your staff are a credit to you, we will be back

"Disappointing stay"

User 16/12/2019

Was very disappointed with our stay at The Green Isle this time around. It has been the 5th time we stayed as a family in The Green Isle. Our main issue was the heat! We checked in a s arrived to our home room and it was like an ice box so I rang reception and the gentleman said that he would turn it on. What I can't understand is that the heating should have been on before we ever arrived to the hotel. 2nd issue is the bathroom had no heat at all in radiator nothing. There was a fan but all that was blowing out was cold air freezing cold air. So again I rang reception and he said that he would send up someone to have a look at it. Somebody came up with a plug in dimplex heater for the bathroom. I don't know how they though we were going to get electricity to it as the plug nearest the bathroom was maybe 2 foot away so then the heater wouldn't reach it and also the heater didn't look very safe it was falling apart to be honest so we basically just put up with a freezing cold bathroom for our 2 note stay in the Greenisle. We wont be in a rush back I'm afraid of we ever do go back to the greenisle. Very disappointment family.

Overall such a lovely place so clean and well organised. I was at the echo sports awards event and I have to say the hotel put in a fantastic night. The food was amazing I would highly recommend it. Everyone at the bar were so helpful and happy to help. There was also an ATM on site which was good, I didn't have to leave the premises.

I would not stop anywhere else other than the green Isle hotel. I have stopped here for two years with my son and family and I have always been looked after and welcomed by the staff on every occasion. The hotel has great facilities and the rooms are very clean. Everything you need from a hotel and a location that is pretty much perfect distance from the airport and city centre with easy access to local transport.

We stayed in the Green Isle Hotel last night for the luggwoods santa experience. From the get go the receptionist was lovely. She noticed my sons ear defenders and put us in a quiet room after explaining there was a Romanian concert on. We went to the bar for some food.i got a carvery & pmy husband & son some bar food. Staff were so friendly & attentive (especially the waiter with the man bun!).Good was gorgeous and really quick. After seeing Santa we went to the bar for some drinks. Bar is nice & big and cozy.Room was spacious.Bed was comfy. My only 3 gripes was there was no safe in the room and the shower was quite cold.Breakfast was lovely but not a great selection of pastries. But we will definitely be returning for another visit.

"Incredible value for a trip to Dublin"

kirstyhall, York, United Kingdom 24/11/2019

We stayed here last week for 4 nights. It is a a little far from the city centre, but a very good place to stay if you want to tour the area. The food is incredibly good and the staff go out of their way to help you. We ate here every day for breakfast and dinner - the menu changes daily, the buffet is amazing, and the daily specials are an absolute steal with wine included. The bar prices were very good and the staff can manage to do any cocktail I have ever heard of - that is, quite a few. The wines are very reasonably priced for such a good hotel. Our room was a double with 2 king sized beds - easily big enough for a family. We extended our stay for a night, which was no problem at all. There are plenty of rooms even at this time of year when Dublin is getting very busy as Christmas approaches. I would go again any time. If this is your first visit, please check the route before you drive there - it is only 20 - 25 minutes from either the ferry or the airport. It is a good location for south east Ireland.

We are a family of 3,staying for 5 nights. Initially after reading such terrible reviews we were very anxious about our stay but we have had a very positive experience. From housekeeping, reception, restaurant staff to leisure centre ( especially Vytas) we have been treated with nothing but the best of hospitality. We have chosen to stay and eat in the restaurant on 4 of the nights as the food is freshly prepared and great value for money. Some have complained about the traffic noise.... You are in a city... Wear ear plugs. We come from a quiet country road but managed to adjust for the few days. All in, we ( 2 teens and Mum) would recommend this hotel. Terrific value for money, friendly staff and rooms with all you need for short stay. One note red cow Park & ride had no parking places at 11.30 am. Might need to walk or take a taxi if arriving later than 7-8am.

I did get a little nervous when we got into the cab, and the driver had never heard of the hotel but this was actually a great place to stay. It was very clean and the beds were super comfortable and not a lot of noise. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about getting around the city. I only deducted one star because the fire alarm went off at 2 in the morning and that was a bit of an annoyance but overall i would stay here again.

"I Would Not Recommend for Families..."

1
User 20/11/2019

We stayed in the Green Isle from Saturday 16th of November to Sunday 17th. And we had quite a bad experience. I would not recommend families with children to stay in this hotel. We could not sleep basically the entire night. There is absolutely no sound isolation and you can hear everything from the rooms around and the loud constant slamming doors in the hallway. We called the reception at 3am to complain about our drunk neighbours next to us but that wasn't of much use as they continued even after been talked to. The most unpleasant thing about this situation is our kids waking up in the middle of the night and tiredly asking why it's so noisy and you can't do anything to fix it. No complaints about the food in the restaurant however.

I stayed here with my little girl before a concert at the 3 arena. Got a shuttle bus which was great! Staff are so lovely & the hotel is nice. Really affordable! Would stay again. Only thing that let it down was not being able to go into the pool as there was a water aerobics class scheduled. This was one of the reasons we picked the hotel ☹️

I stayed here last week with my kids. It was my second time staying here and i would definitely stay again. Very close to luas Red Cow stop for a trip into the city. Hotel is clean and comfortable, and the rooms are not too hot or stuffy at night so we slept very comfortably. Breakfast was easy with a family. There was so much choice for everyone and staff were friendly and helpful.I would describe staying here with kids as comfortable and easy.

Awful stay. Went with my mother and two kids. Staff in restaurant were rude. Asked chef for kids menu, his response was nuggets and chips. Domestic row kicked off across the hall later that evening. Phoned reception a number of times before someone answered. They said they would send someone up. Couple continued to argue. Doors banging shouting crying etc. Kids were terrified.

"Unprofessional staff"

User 04/11/2019

On Sunday the 3rd of November 2019, my aunt and her team members won a final they had just played in the aviva stadium. This was a major achievement and we were all thrilled and looking forward to the night celebrated, we decided to join the team members to celebrate. We arrived to the hotel and went straight into the restaurant and there was 12 of us so we pushed 2 tables together, not one member of staff offered help to us as we did so, but came over and rudely told us how we could not help ourselves to ‘rearranging' the restaurant and that if there was ever a group like this again we had to let them know. The tone and attitude the staff spoke to us in was horrific. We were not greeted or did not feel welcome at all. The food was brought out cold, undercooked and not up to standard, which we didn't mind too much, we are more disgusted with how we were spoken to. One of my family members was still eating her food when we were asked to move because other people's needed this space. The man who spoke so rudely to us was named Philip. And I am disgusted to say this is how we were treated after such a huge celebration. I've never left a review on trip adviser before as I work in a hotel myself and understand how hard it can be sometimes, but there was absolutely no need for the way this man spoke to me and my family. All we wanted to do was celebrate and enjoy our evening which was ruined. I would not recommend this hotel at all as the staff are rude, arrogant and unwelcoming.

Nice clean hotel. Friendly outgoing staff from reception to restaurant. Check In simple and fast. Small shop area in the restaurant where you can purchase items instead of looking for a shop. Room clean and very spacious. There is a swimming pool that looks well kept also, we did not have the time to use it on this occasion. Breakfast is buffet style with great choice to suit all. Staff keep it well stocked up. Location wise, a bus stop outside hotel will take you to dublin city centre or you can drive/taxi to the luas which will take you in also. Can't fault this hotel or it's staff.

"Better than my last visit"

Ms-HoneyBadger, Dublin, Ireland 29/10/2019

It's been 6 years since I was last at this hotel. Spent a last minute weekend with the family. It was a much better experience this time around. Check in was easy and the friendly reception lady was nice. In general the staff were pleasant. Always a plus! The family room was very generous in size. Although quite warm, we had to turn the radiator off as soon as we got in but it helped with the heat a lot, so that was great. Left the window open too. We weren't too worried about security issues even though it was ground level. The hot water was plentiful, the fan worked in the bathroom and the cot requested was all set up upon arrival. The bar food we ate was enjoyed and the breakfast was hot and tasty. Happily it was quiet overnight and we didn't hear our neighbours or traffic at all. The pool, although small, was enjoyed. The change area was clean and the hairdryers were good quality and all working. With all that being said, there are some cons. The bed, though wonderfully big, was far too soft. Both myself and partner had sore backs because it wasnt firm enough. Not all the lights worked in the room either. Food: On arrival at the restaurant, though busy, we were seated within 5 minutes(great) and given one menu for our table of 4. I went in search of another menu and a childrens menu which I found. 25 minutes later, having asked twice, our order was taken. A further 25 minutes after that, we recieved our starters and drinks. 50 minutes from the time we were seated we were finally eating! This was not welcome at all. Our toddler was very hungry, as we all were, but he was getting very agitated, which didn't help my patience or enjoyment of the food. Yes, it was busy, though most definitely easing when we were seated and when we got our starters it had quietened down a lot. Mains came 20 minutes later(normal arrival time, no issues)and as soon as I finished I left the table with my toddler and went back to the room. He was very cranky and sad and frustrated at this stage, and so was I, to be honest. We probably would stay here again at some stage. It wouldn't be a firm "NO" but the sore backs wasn't great and the food service that evening was an awful shame. Also, please don't steal the room linens or items. I don't want to have to read a sign warning me off that nonsense as I brush my teeth...

Booked into the hotel for a relaxing weekend with my partner. The reception staff gave us a very nice welcome and were very efficient. Our room was spacious, the bed was so comfortable and we had a lovely view over the city. All of the staff that we encountered were always ready to assist us be it the bar staff, restaurant staff or reception. The breakfast was fantastic and they had a lovely carvery available in the evenings. Good job that they had a gym as we needed to burn off some of the calories. We also went for a lovely walk in the nearby Corkagh park. We will absolutely return for the experience and the value.

"Definitely not 4-star"

User 04/10/2019

On the whole the building is of an acceptable standard. Rooms were OK and although there seemed to be some kind of turbine whirring outside my window all night but I managed to sleep without too much trouble. The food here however, leaves much to be desired and the attitude of some of the staff spoils what would have been another uninteresting stay in another uninteresting hotel. Some of the waiting staff I experienced were rude and really could not care less. Ordered a steak for my dinner the first night I stayed and i could have sworn it was 90% rubber and the “vegetables” I was given was essentially a bowl of carrots, no more than 30 peas, and a few baby onions which had been on the boil since the dinosaurs went extinct (I'd also been served the same vegetables for their lunch time carvery! DELISH!). I didn't want to appear rude so ate the mush and chewy beef anyway and just thought I'd make a comment at the end of my meal quietly to the waitress to take back to the kitchen. Service was slow but never mind- it was quite busy but when asked how my meal was I replied with “not great actually...” and having been a hotel waiter before I always sought feedback, but the waitresses response was “oh ok.” And off she toddled! Stunned, I went to ask for the bill...when she eventually decided to return to my table. I ordered a take away to the hotel on my second night's stay! The gym was... incomplete. The dumbbells were damaged and the weights were not safely labelled- some plates were clearly missing off the dumbbells! The space is massively cramped in the weights area so expect to be cosying up with the monster at the leg press if you want to use the cables! Before checking out in my last morning I went down for breakfast and was told to sit where I wanted in the dining area. Noticing the “reserved” signs I avoided those tables and sat at one near the cold buffet. No sooner had I sat down I was being shouted at from across the dining room, that it was reserved despite there being no sign and quickly ushered away to a table in the corner. I've stayed here before and overlooked things but with the kitchen and waiting staff fiasco I couldn't let it go this time. To call it a 4 star hotel is very very misleading and would only just be acceptable in my eyes, as a 3 star. Will definitely not be stay here again.

Stayed here with a coach party before catching the ferry. The room was fine but that is all that was fine!! Went in for dinner and all sat on one big table (more like a school party) and what a poor choice of food and even if you were allergic to anything there was no alternative. Then to add insult we were asked to leave the table as they needed to lay it for another party!!!! We hadn't even been there for 1 hour. The noise in the night was dreadful, people running up and down the corridor shouting obscenities. What a relief we were only there for one night. Must mention how helpful the gentleman on reception was when we first arrived.

This hotel has it all!!! Great location, plenty of safe and secure parking, friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, excellent bar food and delicious breakfast aswell as fabulous swimming pool! What more could 1 want? We booked the Green Isle for a 1 night stay on Saturday Sept 14th.Despite many trips to Dublin, it was, 1 hotel we had never stayed in. Going forward I will never stay anywhere else!!!! I cannot understand previous reviews as in my opinion this hotel ticks all the boxes. We arrived at around 2 pm, but early check in was not a bother. Friendly, efficient staff arranged for us to gain early access to our rooms, despite being very busy. Nothing was a problem!! Before heading for the big match, we had a delicious meal in the bar, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Our rooms were very spacious and spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable! There was a great atmosphere around the hotel and despite losing the game we arrived back to the hotel to great bar entertainment. Next morning the kids headed for the pool and then all in fot a fabulous breakfast, which had a huge selection... The best I've seen in a long time. Once again the staff were extremely helpful and so nice to the children. Overall this was a fantastic choice of hotel on our part, and ranks up there with Dublins finest hotels... At a fraction of the price!! Well done to all in the Green Isle.. Be proud of the service and hospitality you offer!

The only complaint I have about this hotel is it's so far from city center. The room was very clean and large. Slept great while here. The food at the restaurant was okay but nice to have here if you are in a pinch.

After having read previous negative reviews I was second thinking my booking for a two night stay at The Green Aisle Hotel - though I'm so glad that I didn't cancel. The receptionist upon arrival couldn't have been more helpful. Granted, my room was at the back of the hotel - it was incredibly quiet and I slept very well. The breakfast was fine though the carvery lunches we had were really good, so good in fact that I didn't need an evening meal. For €89 per night I was really impressed - I will definitely be coming back. Thank you to all the staff for your great hospitality!

Having read all the negative reviews I was apprehensive about our choice of hotel. Stayed here on a Friday night with wife & 2 kids. I really can't believe the reviews of some people. Our experience was excellent. I firmly believe that some people have an inflated sense of entitlement. This is not the Shelbourne but for €154 for a family room we got what we paid for and more. So, what did we get: Very friendly & efficient check-in. Relaxed cosy bar area with friendly & attentive staff. Comfortable & clean bedroom with a double & 2 singles. Slight background motorway noise but hey, it's an urban hotel. Had a great night's sleep. There was a concert in the conference room but we couldn't hear it. Great buffet breakfast that set us up for the day. Plenty of choice and staff were friendly. Shop on site if you need a few snacks. Not over priced. Swimming pool. We didn't avail of it as we didn't have time. Looked clean and family friendly. This is a good hotel. Some people need to get real about their expectations. Disregarding the kids, it was essentially €77 per adult. Excellent value for a hotel with all the facilities one would expect and convenient for travel into Dublin (Dublin bus stops right outside the hotel). We'll be back.

"A tent on the M7 would be less noisy"

1
knifeskillz, Galway, Ireland 06/09/2019

For the sake of being fair, I sent the manager of the hotel a complaint email and they never responded. As such, I think leaving a negative Trip Advisor review is more than fair. If you don't care enough to respond to genuine complaints, then you really shouldn't be in any sort of customer service environment. I stayed in the Green Isle Hotel a few weeks ago for a function and was given one of the 4th floor rooms. As rooms go, it's fine. A three star with ambition I think would be fair to call it. Big enough size, good bed and linens, decent bathroom. Something that I would be happy to stay in for a night in most circumstances. That's the plus of the room Now the negative; you would not believe how crazy amount of noise that room gets, primarily from the busy road outside. I originally thought the sound of cars booming around the walls were the result of an open window but when I checked everything was closed and locked. When I opened the sliding door to let in air. The sound was deafening. You couldn' leave the door to the balcony open as you share it with every other room on the side, and could face an invasion or a robbery. Who designed such a crap box? You'd think the noise would lessen over the course of the night, but you'd be wrong. If you're the kind of person who thinks that whale noise cds are too gentle to rock you to sleep, a tape from the 4th floor of the Green Isle Hotel might be right up your alley. The fact you ever dare to charge for such a terrible room speaks volumes to how little management must care about how they're perceived. The fact you willfully charge for such a noisy room is a bit scandalous. People go to hotels for relaxation and a reasonable expectation of peace and quiet you can reasonably sleep in. This is not a room you can do anything in except wear headphones all day and night and even then you can't shake the sound of the traffic. I'd have been better off in a tent near the m7 instead the noise is so bad. The hotel breakfast isn't much better; the sort of tastless plastic dehydrated food you'd expect from a petrol station at the end of its hot food service. Cheap cheap cheap is all I'd say. You can definitely improve on the food quality too. I made a complaint at check out to a sympathetic member of your staff, but no sign of any sort of proper apology. I imagine they face a lot of irate guests on a daily basis and I sympathise with anyone on the front line who has to deal with that. Judging by the negative reviews on this, I see I'm not the only one who had a bad experience. So save your money and go somewhere else. Yeah, it's cheap, but good luck getting any sort of rest. For 85euro it was the most expensive sleepless night I encountered. I'd ask for it back but I know that's in vain A disappointing experience to say the least. Avoid avoid avoid.

"WORST HOTEL EVER"

User 23/08/2019

How can this be a 4 star hotel. Rooms had no air con, the night I stayed it was very warm with no option to control air con, could not open a window as only window was a sliding door that opened onto a shared balcony with all the other rooms on top floor so could not leave the door open for safety reason so room had no air and was very stuffy could not sleep. Dinner was a shared deep fried plater from frozen food which was not edible as all the food was rubbery other option was a carvery which was very limited didn't even have a roast joint only sausages and curry. At breakfast I was quissed as to how I was paying when I said I booked B&B and breakfast was included staff asked for proof which took about 15 mins to get it from reception. Staff not very helpful, overall hotel dirty, car park not easy to get in or out off. Would not recommend this place even if it was for free.

"Worst Hotel Ever"

User 22/08/2019

This has to be the worst hotel i have ever been to. Do not stay here. When we arrived to our room it was on the ground floor and was like entering the 80's with awful floral curtains and a big mahogony bedboard. We had asked for a room with a pull out bed and were not given it after we payed for it. Our room was directly under reception and did not slept a wink all night. The room is like a sauna and we could not open the windows due to loads of people drunk outside shouting and roaring. Beds are extremely hard. Parking area was awful you could barely get your car out out without scratching it. There were people smoking drugs outside by the reception area you could smell it even with the windows closed. A bus load of people arrived around 3.20 in the morning making tons of noise. There is no way this should be a 4 star hotel. If staying in this area stay in the Maldron Hotel it is a much nicer hotel with less noise and nicer decor. I came here with my family for a break as we were not able to get away all summer to to an illness and wanted to try and do something before they went back to school. It totally riined our mini holiday. Would definately never stay here again.

Horrible experience from start to finish. Staff are rude and just don't care. Room is like a sauna and they don't have the availability to turn up or down the temperature. Provided a fan that didn't make a difference. Bathroom unclean. A poker tournament was on in the supposedly family hotel (even though I rang in advance to check if the hotel would be busy and was told no), the noise was horrific. It felt like a nightclub hotel. Cans or alcohol and empty/smashed glass all around the front and side of the hotel. Cigarettes all round the hotel. Strong smell of cannabis at side entrance. Staff didn't want to know. Complained multiple times and nothing was ever done. Tried to say on our check out, however we weren't even asked how our stay was. Breakfast was like a zoo. It's a free for all and very basic. Please don't stay here, especially if you are a family.

Extremely friendly helpful staff. Food excellent, bar large and we'll well stocked. Room large and comfy, but disappointed in lack of bath, instead a rather tired shower and tiles. Quiet area would be useful, as bar was busy but reception area was populated by two screaming children at 10pm.

"Nice but dated"

3
User 14/08/2019

Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast and dinner was delicious especially the chicken wings. The dining room, bar area and lobby are spacious and modern however the room we were in was dated and not fit for purpose. There were stains on the wall and carpet and the sockets in the room were in awkward corners rather than being in practical easy to use places. There was also no iron which is standard in hotels. We were also misinformed at the desk with regards to bus services. But despite these small things overall our stay was lovely.

A Good value for money especially for families. Easy access going to city center and other amenities take aways also near to national aquatic center and Liffey valley shopping mall. Has Good size pool. Has own parking facilities a bit tight on the ramp. But it's ok for average size car.

We were on holiday and the workmen started cutting tiles, just outside our room, every morning before 8am. There were no net curtains so when getting ready we had to close the heavy curtains, therefore no natural light. There were holes where the curtain rods should have been. We couldn't open the windows because of the dust and there was no air con, so it was extremely hot and stuffy. Breakfast was until 10.30 but they cleared it all away at 10.30 !!! Normally, if you are allowed in to a café you get 30mins to order before the kitchen closes ! There were 22 of us for a special occasion and none of us were happy with the condition of the place, especially for the extortionate price. The staff were very good & friendly. I appreciate that work has to be done but we were not informed of this before booking. Everyone thought this was going to be a good hotel which is why it was booked as a treat, but we were all bitterly disappointed. I won't be returning in a hurry or advise anyone else to go. Better & cheaper hotels in town, so we are leaving early to go to one of those.

Standing at reception last night waiting to check in and diana was sitting playing on her phone and guests where standing looking at her. This is so unprofessional. The only thing that let the hotel down was the lady on her phone in front of customers

Arrived here on Sunday night, not one member of staff was polite or had any manners at all. All extremly rude, from the leisure centre staff to reception. Gettin a meal is an experience i will never for get, forgotten orders to not bothering about us at all.. it can only be descibed as school time dinners gone wrong. There was a que of people complaining all night. Rooms look nothing like it does in the pictures... no the only saving grace of this hotel is on Monday, the receptionists where so nice compared to the staff at night.

"No atmosphere, no elegance, no customer service, nor is it particularly welcoming."

1
User 05/08/2019

I was extremely shocked by so my elements to this stay. The hotel is not in great repair, the first room was an embarrassment to them. Unfit for purpose and extremely unsafe. The hotel has no atmosphere, no elegance, no customer service, nor is it particularly welcoming. It is almost like the staff are hiding away waiting for you to come and tell them how unsatisfying the hotel is and they are a strangely unapologetic for the shortcomings. Given the opportunity to deal with issues they don't embrace this, they don't offer any customer service they just accept and move on. They don't truly fix anything and they know the customer isn't satisfied but they seem ok with this. This is likely the hardest part to accept. With a few very basic changes the hotel could create some atmosphere, could become welcoming and the customer might then not so easily see (or care) about the extremely tired decor and facilities. For us, the worst bit of the stay was how the property appeared family friendly on the website but was far from adequate when we arrived. We booked a room with two double beds as this was what we needed. On arrival to the room I was disappointed to see it in such a shabby state, patches with curled up corners in the carpet that had been poorly mended, the smell of stale air, a rickety chair that felt unsafe and beds that were saggy and creaked back and forth when we sat on them. Nothing that I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The biggest surprise was definitely the window latches being held on by one screw, within a family room, at the height that children can reach, this at some point will likely cause a child a serious injury. Once this was brought to the attention of the customer service manger he just seemed ok with it and moved our room. Now the decor within the second room was nicer, it was clearly done more recently but it only had a double and a single bed (not what we had booked nor what we needed). The bathroom had a smell of stale urine and the toilet roll holder fell off in my hand. The shower had close to zero pressure and cut off completely after a few minutes, only returning with a useless trickle after a minute or two of absolute no water at all. At least the window in this second room was safer. Children are not permitted within the lounge area after 7:30pm so the only option is to retire to your room, then the evening entertainment starts and it's loud enough that you might as well be in the bar anyway. Even closing the windows completely, locking in the summer heat and the stale, faintly urine-infested air, you have no hope of getting to sleep nor does the baby. When I went to reception to cancel our next nights stay the receptionist answer was “strange as that's a quite room” he then went to ask the bar to turn down the music. Once I got back to the room the music had actually got louder, so clearly the bar didn't agree with my request. At this point if I had not had a two year old with me and activities booked for the next day, I would have gone home but, as we were over two hours away from home, this wasn't realistic with a small child in tow. The next morning I spoke with the customer service manager only to be told that due to “professional complainers” it was hotel policy not to refund anyone unless they left the hotel in the middle of the night. So clearly I was not the first to complain and the hotel had adopted a policy to deal with their issues. Blame the customer, classify them as professional complainers and refrain from offering customer service.

Since I wrote two previous reviews and both got deleted I'll write a third . Myself and my children booked and stayed in the greenisle hotel 3 was ago. Upon arrival the hotel was very busy and took ages to book in. (By no fault of hotel) reception staff were a little rude as if we were putting them out by checking in.. after we got our rooms we decided to go back downstairs. Queue was still very long so I met a member of staff walking around doing nothing and asked her by any chance she could get me the number of the shuttle bus guy they use and her response was “queue like everyone else” . To say I was pissed off was an understatement. I just found everything was an effort for staff. Breakfast was a total disaster. Food was the worst ever. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone .. room was grubby. Smell of cigarettes smoke everywhere. Only thing I found good was the pool and the lovely friendkyblsd that was on duty down there .. regards

The Green Aisle is an excellent hotel with friendly staff who are all eager to look after you from the moment that you arrive. The hotel appears to be very family-friendly orientated with many using the leisure centre's 15-metre swimming pool. There is also a gym, steam room and jet pool for the adults. If you are visiting Ireland for the first time, please be aware that swimming hats are compulsory (three Euro in the machine) use of the towels are free, but they are not very big. There is a Shop next to the check-in desk which sells drinks, newspapers, sandwiches, chocolates, crisps and such like. Prices are slightly high but what would you expect from a four-star hotel? There is a free to use ATM in reception if you run out of cash. The young ladies in the restaurant were friendly, helpful and very professional. The one who served me was surprised and grateful for the tip that I gave after having my excellent steak meal. Come on people, these girls are not paid the best, so treat them like you would like to be treated, reward them for their hard work! The restaurant also offers an excellent Carvery with generous portions. The buffet breakfast is very comprehensive, with plenty of choices hot and cold. The bar was bustling, but that was to be expected as the hurling semi-final was on, the poker tournament which I was playing in had over 150 players in it, and there was a colossal christening been celebrated in another massive room in the Conference centre as well as other hotel guests. The bedrooms are big, roomy and spacious with plenty of drawers to place clothes as well as a big wardrobe to hang up shirts, trousers etc. A special shout-out to one of the managers, Bernard. I had a small problem with my curtains. Within ten minutes, he moved me to another room. The bathroom was well stocked; my only complaint was that the shower mixers could not find a happy medium, far too hot or the opposite. I didn't mind as it was a scorching day. The flow of the shower was also quite weak despite adjusting the head. Check-in time is 3 pm. My flight arrived at 9 am. I did a load of shopping in Grafton Street before coming from Dublin airport. However, I had arranged to check-in at noon, which they arranged for me, and I was very grateful for this. Thank you, Katrina, for your warm friendly welcome. Check out is 11 am, but once again you can negotiate a later check out for a small fee. They have a massive car park, which I believe is free for residents. For visitors relying on the services of a taxi for transport, reception is only too pleased to arrange one for you, and they arrive within minutes. There are plenty of things to do around Dublin; the front desk will give a big map as to where to find the shopping centres and malls (there are a few) as well as attractions like the Zoo. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend the Green Isle as I was made to feel like a valued customer throughout my stay. I'm back in a fortnight. I've already booked my room.

"Worn hotel near motorway"

Stale G, Chartres, France 25/07/2019

Hotel is worn and quite noisy. We were unfortunate enough to get a room facing the busy motorway, which made it impossible to have windows open. After asking at the reception the day after, we were given a room "on the other side" that was perfect. Bar and restaurants were very noisy and the staff (in the restaurant) was rude, impolite and offensive (one waitress). Would't go back to this establishment.

Stayed 2nights in a family room. Kids had a great time . Free parking and internet. Staff very helpful, friendly and professional. Not to far from Dublin Zoo . I think it was value for money and will be back again.

"More like a 3* hotel"

fionaney, Wexford, Ireland 23/07/2019

Stayed for 2 nights and the room was absolutely roasting, left the window open and the ventilation systems was right in front of us so it was no sleep & noisy. Good choice of breakfast available. Clean bathroom but the shower curtains was smelly and every time you pulled it over, the water still gets every where on the floor!! Not close to anything, you'd have to drive at least 15/20 mins for shopping centres etc.

LauraM17260, Guest Relations Manager at Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure, responded to this review
Dear fionaney, I am sorry to read that you encountered some issues during your stay with us, due to the recent warm weather our rooms have been a little warmer that usual. Thank you for taking the time to post your review, I hope that we can welcome you back to the Green Isle Hotel in the future. Kind Regards, Laura

After paying top 4star prices for a very poor 3star hotel I am anything but happy. Payment on arrival at reception created an air of mis-trust and didn't encourage me to avail of any extra services that may have been provided. I would have been happy to have got even one night sleep out of the two I stayed for. Too much noise and heat in the room and corridors was uncomfortable and I was awake throughout both nights. Noise from generators and ventilation systems on lover roof was constant. Reatraunt was a cavery and only menu was for bar food. Totally unacceptable for a (4star) hotel. Green Isle falls far short of this.

"Disappointing and not cheap !"

irishstew7, ireland 17/07/2019

We booked in as we had an early flight the next morning out of Dublin Airport. Just after we checked in we headed for the guest only lift and were accosted by a man who leapt out of the glass booth nearby to confirm we were guests . Yes we had the room cards in our hands ! It got better the quiet room we had asked for at the rear of the hotel ,so we could get some sleep, turned out to be a ground floor room near where the coaches pull up at the front of the hotel . So much for listening to the customer. This room had 3 beds in it but not a reading light or bedside lamp in sight. This was a first for us in stays in different countries. We didn't complain at the time because we needed to catch some sleep ! However having read recent reviews it is clear that quality assurance in respect of rooms in this hotel is the responsibility of guests and not the management . On the plus side the staff in the dining room were friendly and efficient but a hotel cant run on that positive alone . I know the customer care manager will be disappointed again but please shut down the use of the substandard rooms until they achieve an acceptable standard.

"Very poor quality of the rooms and furniture for the price paid."

User 16/07/2019

First room given during the check-in was located in a "basement". Damp odour was very strong. Interior design was old-fashioned and walls needed painting. Furniture was old and damaged. Table, bedside tables and a chair chipped in many places. The room was very dark. We asked for another room. It was better, but not very much. Music in the bar played by a band until midnight was very loud - we got a room on the 1st floor, so we couldn't sleep. Maybe we would enjoy listening to the band, but had to get up at 5.30 for our early assignments. No iron and ironing board in the rooms. Only amenities we fully enjoyed was the swimming pool and the internet. Staff was friendly.

northern_ontario_705, Temiskaming Shores, Canada 15/07/2019

Parking on site but narrow stalls. Room without proper ventilation. No air conditionning. We had to open the window overnight and it was very noisy because of the nearby traffic. Wrong information provided by the check-in staff about the exercise facility. I was given attitude by the clerk at the gym about gym closure in 35 minutes and he reluctantly provided me with a towel. Room was spacious but we had to walk a long distance to get there. Internet was good. Shower was clean but big mess due to water running out, despite making sure curtain was properly pulled. Toilet paper holder is useless; the roll keeps on falling off.

My family and I stayed for one night and it was not a 4 star experience at first, we were given a room in the old side of the hotel and the condition of it was awful two singles beds were broken as was toilet seat and locks on the window which wouldn't open, we were given another room which was much nicer why we were not given it in the first place, probably thought there Irish they won't mind, needless to say we won't be going back.

User 01/07/2019

Really good hospitality overall. Can't argue at how well the staff have been trained in a customer centred environment. I'd highly recommend staying there if you need somewhere that's understated, and really good value for money! The beds were comfy. The rooms were huge. The rooms could have done with a little bit of modernising, but over all, really impressed with the value for the stay. Also, the breakfast - really good! Everything cooked just right... even the hash browns were cooked pretty much perfectly! And that's definitely a win in my books!

"Where do I start?"

1
Resort55957038929, Cork, Ireland 20/06/2019

Arrived at hotel and had to pay €159 (for single room occupancy) up front. This was a first for me. Room was roasting (as it had been 19degrees outside). Opened windows wide (as safety latch was broken) . Turned on aircon which knocked and banged and started flashing for an error. Material on base of bed had been ripped off completely - torn material, stapled and wooden lats exposed. went to the Wasloo, but toilet wouldn't flush properly. Was rushing for a meal, so had a quick shower and went looking for the iron. Despite the multiple cupboards in the room (labelled staff only) there was no iron or ironing board. Didn't have time to complain or wait around, so made do without. Arrived back to the furnace, internet wouldn't connect despite Ethernet cable connection. Time for sleep - decision time: close the window and bear the heat or open the window and try to sleep through the sound of the fans and utilities outside? I chose the latter. Woke up 4 hours later in a ball of sweat - checked temperature on alarm clock - 25degrees at 4am! Went for breakfast. No tables set. Plates were soaking wet, food heaters were broken so food was cold. Decor was modern.....back in 1985. Stairwells to carpark had broken tiles and chipped concrete strewn around. Auto lights came on after you had climbed up the stairs in the dark. Upon checkout, I informed the girl about the aircon. She wasn't too phased as she was more interested in trying to figure out why the check-in/out system wasn't working on the PCs! Enough said? First time ever leaving any review for a hotel....but I felt like I deserved to vent after being out up in the staff overnight room, or whatever room 340 is.

"Disappointing"

User 19/06/2019

Me and my friends stayed at the Green Isle in Clondalkin for one night lately and we were a bit disappointed with our stay. Firstly my pregnant friends room was so warm and when they asked reception was there air conditioning, they were laughed at and told to open window which was literally on the motorway and extremely loud. We had breakfast the next morning and although the food was tasty, it was very cold. Upon returning to one of the rooms after breakfast, the cleaners were in the room and we were asked to wait until they were finished. We didn't have to check out for another hour and wanted to shower, we found this a odd. Lastly we noticed the disability lift to enter the leisure centre had a vending machine placed in front of it, we thought this was disheartening for a wheelchair user who wanted to access leisure facility. On the upside, the hotel was very clean, the carvery was really tasty and most the staff were lovely and helpful.

"Appalling Hotel"

stewart g, Birmingham, United Kingdom 18/06/2019

The reception staff were helpful and efficient but that is the only good thing I have to say about this hotel. We stayed in room 226 for 2 nights 3 days and in the whole of that time the room was never cleaned although the towels were changed. I dread to think how old the lumpy beds and bedding are! The room is extremely dated and desperately needs updating. It had a grubby feel about it and the window ledge showed signs of damp and mould. The room looked over a flat roof full of cigarette ends and small silver gas bottles which I can only assume had not been used to blow hundreds of balloons up! Although not the hotels fault the noise levels into the early hours are awful so do not expect a nights sleep. The staff on the whole were not very hospitable and several people were complaining at breakfast. but the barman took it to another level why he never says please or thank you even is not great customer service. The breakfast is lukewarm, the sausages are disgusting and it appears when one of the options has run out it is not replenished. The coffee in huge urns is disgusting and the whole drinks area is a disaster zone with sodden and stained tablecloths. All in all the cheapest food and beverages they can get away with. Considering what you have to pay this establishment is definitely not worth the money. There are 4 stars under the hotels name on the hotel all of these need removing asap. Please do not stay here this is not typical of the usual Irish welcome.

Having set up our campervan in the nearby Camac Valley Tourist Caravan and Camping Park, was asked at reception about getting a meal somewhere and were told that the Green Isle Hotel was a ten minute walk from the site. About 15 minutes later we arrived - no probs! On enquiry about food, we were told by the very helpful and polite waitress that only the carvery would be open that evening - no probs! We both had substantial helpings of excellent food (roast beef for me), took our plates to the table while I went off for Guinness - I didn't realise, despite being told by friends, how long it takes to pour Guinness, however, my dinner was still nice and hot, and was devoured! - no probs! I've learned my lesson about ordering Guinness! - no probs!

This is my 3rd stay at the Greenisle Hotel, after a Christmas shopping trip in December 2018 with 2 others we checked in to a nice room, enjoyed bar food and live music but after returning to our room by midnight we had quite a disturbed night with various Christmas parties & people shouting outside our room etc,On checking out I voiced my concerns and was invited to come back with a 20% discount on the best available price so that is what we did. Unfortunately after entering our room 6mths later I immediately had to ring reception to request a room change, our room was certainly not up to standard of a four star hotel, bathroom extremely dated grout on tiles disgustingly discolored, pillowcases filthy. Supervisor on duty Daniel was most obliging, he found us a new room immediately and made sure in his words that the “broken glass was repaired”

"Disappointing hotel that just doesn't care any more"

2
Benaek, Cork, Ireland 05/06/2019

Booked a family room for 3 nights for 2 adults and 2 toddlers a few months in advance. First night we were put in a room directly over the bar. You'd think they would learn from the previous reviews here and not put families in these rooms. Not like they didn't have time to prioritize rooms for families, we had booked well in advance. But alas we were also made to suffer the music in the bar from 10:30 to 12:40. Even with earplugs it was awful. When I went to reception to complain, the guy told me I shouldn't have been put in that room and showed me other family rooms that were more suitable and even empty. It was too late to move everything and the kids were wrecked. So we insisted on being moved next day. Why can you not mark those rooms in the first floor over the bar as unsuitable for families with small kids???? I expect more from from a large hotel chain, we're telling you what's wrong and you are ignoring it. The rooms are clean but the mattresses are either cheap or just old, don't be expecting a comfy sleep. Breakfast was a bit of a circus also, the boiler broke so they were filling large pots of boiling water for you to make tea. Even on the second day the boiler was still broke. Kids did love the pool but the changing rooms are run down. All in all a very disappointing hotel that doesn't make any improvement actions based on the reviews in Tripadvisor. Also, spend some money on the hotel to make it more comfortable.

"Poor Quality. Would not recommended."

Ive stayed in hotels all over the world, with a variety of ratings and I can honestly say this hotel does not deserve 3 stars. The bathroom extractor fan has a cigarette smoke smell coming through, Other room keys can open your door(3 people walked into our room by using their key and then apologised), various times our door key didn't even work on our door, to turn off the lights you have to go to the door to the only switch, the beds are seriously uncomfortable, the reception and managers are unhelpful and the evening food is the same every night. We had to leave and we have booked a different place to stay. Will not be returning and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I regularly stay in hotels for my work. This was not a great choice on my behalf. I was on the 4th floor and the room definitely needs upgraded. I was fine with paying €104 per night (room only) however I would expect a better room. Although when you use the stairs to come down for level 4 the carpet seems to be newer do perhaps some of the floors below are upgraded rooms. I was meet colleagues in the evening so I really didn't spend much time in the hotel apart from sleep. On the negative points. 1. I could not adjust the AC below 19c with no window opening the room was very hot. 2. I would have liked an option to have breakfast before I left each morning, but breakfast isn't available until 7am. This is poor considering the amount of working people staying. I think at least 6 or 6:30. 3. WIFI is useless. I just used my mobile 4G Positive points. 1. There's a pool. I didn't use because of work load. 2. car park is secure multi story. 3. staff at reception seemed friendly.

"Poor service, bad quality beds, noisy, poor food "

Wouldn't recommend a stay here. Very disappointing. Reception was unhelpful. Breakfast was like canteen food. The beds were poor quality. The rooms were noisy. Difficult to get to from the city without a car. Not a pleasant experience.

"Best Day Ever"

we had a communion at this hotel last week for my son and his twin cousins, the day was absolutly fab, the room we had was perfect, we had carvery dinner with lots of choice on the menu and icecream for the kids, we stayed the night big family rooms with breakfast in the morning and went swimming. It really was the best day ever, all the compliments from family and friends about the day were so nice, the kids had an amazing day and the price overall for everything was unbelievable for all we got, thank u so much to the staff of THE GREEN ISLE HOTEL

"Pleasant Stay"

User 10/05/2019

1. Ample free parking for staying guests 2. Very pleasant staff checked me in. 3. Room on top floor was spacious. Large sliding doors leading to a shared balcony is nice but curtains needed to be drawn most of the time in case someone walked past. No window in room and stifling hot which wasn't very comfortable by night. 4. Staff in bar were very nice and helpful. Girl serving out dinner table was a bit of a scatter brain. Dropped food and cutlery on the floor. One person left without main course until everyone else was almost finished and completely forgot to bring desert to two people and was no where to be seen to request. A bit of a disappointment. 5. Breakfast room was chaotic with kids running everywhere but food was nice and plentiful. 6. Check-out is at 11am Would stay here again but might request a room on another floor simply because of not being able to open a window and also for a bit more privacy.

"Average roadside motorlodge with excellent leisure facilities"

3
Locker101, Yorkshire, United Kingdom 10/05/2019

The rooms are noisy with machinery of one side and a busy road on the other side. The staff were helpful but needed to keep contacting them because housekeeping is poor. The bar is busy as local residents use it to watch live sports. The breakfast buffet is made in too large quantities therefore difficult to get fresh items. The leisure facilities are superb with free classes and activities as well as the pool, steam room etc. Free parking and a convenient location are also good.

The greeting was the usual friendly welcome from the staff at the reception - Aisling in particular. After a speedy process, up to the room which was clean, warm and functional. . . The carvery food was good too. The breakfast was its normal tasty stuff to set us up for the day

Once again, I had a nice relaxing stay at the hotel, staff are helpful and friendly. The room was pleasant and clean, and with staying on the top floor I had a good view of Dublin skyline. The food was excellent and enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to returning back to the Green Isle next month.

We have stayed in the Green Isle a number of times so we know what to expect, friendly helpful staff. I asked for tickets to be printed for me and the were ready on my arrival. I asked for a balcony room and we got one. One or two housekeeping points for room 412. Curtains do not close Stains on the carpet I think the bathroom needs a deep clean Had a drink in bar after the show, pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was adequate without being special All in all good value for money

Stayed at the Green Isle for one nite the end of April and it was great. The room was beautiful and spacious! We ate at the restaurant with a group of friends for a celebration and the food and drinks were great - such a nice quiet place to dine.

"A good hotel in a handy location"

4
AshAlly2014, Cork, Ireland 19/04/2019

The Green Isle is very conveniently located just off the Naas Road and accessible to the M50. In the evening there good food service - either a carvery or a bar food menu - both which are reasonably priced. There is a carpark and a leisure centre attached to the hotel. The room I stayed in was both spacious and clean. The only fault I could find with the hotel was noise - the room I was staying in had interconnecting to the adjoining rooms on both sides so there was extra noise to be heard.

"Decent hotel near Dublin"

lisajW9809LC, Provo, Utah 08/04/2019

Very accommodating staff. Pillows and beds were ok. Hotel was kind of rundown and mostly clean, but didn't have a super homey feel. I wish we could have adjusted the heat (it was a radiator) because it was too hot. No major complaints, just not wowed by our experience, other than the customer service.

"Weekend break"

5
User 07/04/2019

Hotel was great, staff were so pleasant and nothing was a bother to them. Food was delicious and cheap. Rooms were basic but very clean. We spent alot of time in dublin city and the bus stop lifted and dropped you off outside the hotel for €3.80 pp. We will definitely stay here again!

"Coach trip stop over"

3
519sheilab, Liverpool, England, United Kingdom 28/03/2019

Big hotel ready to accommodate all 40+ passengers on our wonderful trip to Ireland . Can understand difficulties feeding so many at once but we only had two choices for dinner, fish or pork! When they ran out of pork they served ham without informing the guest and only when it was pointed out did they offer to add other choices. As a vegetarian I didn't want either meat or fish but was given no choice. Other than that the hotel was clean, comfortable but noisy and served the purpose of the stop over.

"Nice place outside of City Center"

4
Bailey S, Castle rock, mn 25/03/2019

Hotel was located about 30 minutes by bus outside of Dublin City Center. The bus stop is literally outside the hotel entrance which was nice considering bus is the most affordable form of transportation (taxi can be anywhere from 25-45 Euro). Rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds and nice linens! The staff is what made this stay so amazing! They were helpful to suggest things to do in the area and help with any concerns!

"Worst Hotel Stay EVER"

Inspire17143524761, County Dublin, Ireland 25/03/2019

Absolute shocking service from what used to be a great Hotel. I will never refer business colleagues and friends here again very poor service from staff and major noise issues. Please also note the beds are in desperate need of change, poor quality bed, went to reception to change rooms only for no staff to be available we just left when we asked a staff member to call a taxi for us and his response was he did not know how to use the reception phone system. Once issues were raised with reception staff I had to follow up with a phone call 24 hrs later to see if anyone was going to come back to me over the issues and then a short time ago a manager advised it may take a further 24 hours to investigate !!! . Our friends who travelled great distance could not get a taxi home and had to endure the noise for the night If your offered rooms 347 or 349 refuse them that will be the best travel tip I can give you if you have to endure this poor standard of a hotel

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff very prompt and friendly. All amenities as described on site. Would defiantly return to stay here. Rooms were excellent very comfortable beds. Toiletries supplies. Hairdryer. And towels for use in the pool etc.

"Family vacation"

4
User 21/03/2019

Room was smaller than pictured, we tripped over beds and people. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Village was about 5 minutes from hotel and Dublin center was about 30 minutes away. Breakfast was buffet style and very good. No fridge in room but they told us on our last night there that they could have brought one to the groom, not that there was any space for one. I would stay there again!

"Rude Staff (Not all) , Horrible Room, Feeling unwelcome, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CREDIT CARD!"

travelreviewer28, Wrexham, United Kingdom 20/03/2019

1st Moan ... I came here last weekend with partner, brother and his partner. Upon arrival we weren't even greeted, just asked for our names and our deposit money which i had no Idea about. we were asked for deposits which would be refunded after our stay but only with a credit card? we weren't told any of this and it was advised it stated you needed a CC in the Ts & Cs (to small of a small print for me and ive never came across this in my life) luckily we bargained to let them use my visa debit (3 days have passed and still waiting for the deposit £265 to be returned to me) 2nd Moan... My brother and partner wanted to pay for breakfast (12.50) which is fair enough, but I asked if i could sit with them at the table but not order anything so i wasn't on my own, to which the restaurant gentleman (head of or manager im assuming). advises " you cannot sit in MY restaurant on MY chairs or even in my dining hall, you'll have to wait somewhere else (and walked off) , I was mortified as people were staring at me as if i had done something wrong. So then I embarrassingly had to sit in the other part of the room on my own on whilst waiting for my partner to come down. ( Looking back I wish i had of complained as i was made to feel like I was not welcome) 3rd Moan... I can only assume the room I was given was a 'pop up, make shift' bedroom as you can tell our room must of been used for keeping clothes in or something like that, cupboards everywhere, 1 small mirror in the bathroom, we did have a kettle, tea bags and milk, however the kettle didnt fit into the plug socket as you could tell it had just been placed there so the kettle had to be worked by the TV. Mattress was hard as anything, this may sound picky but you could just tell it was a make shift room and I Paid good money to stay there for two nights. Overall... - The bar was nice and the prices for alcohol were cheap so its best to pre drink before you hit the city which is about 30 euro for a taxi. - They have nice vending machines.. - There was one young gentleman at the reception who was absolutely lovely so i wouldnt like to include him in this rant as he cracked jokes with us and was really down to earth. Other than that, that's all I have to say.

Location is quiet, bus 69 stop in front of the Hotel . Room very clean, cleaning services each day. Didn't miss nothing. Few things to improve is more programs on TV and a small fridge in the room. The rest was perfect.

"Literally the worst hotel I've ever stayed at"

1
Quest53311037409, Pembroke Dock, United Kingdom 19/03/2019

This is an absolutely horrendous hotel. I am astounded that it is classed as four star. The reception staff are short and rude. The enormous green lights outside making the hotel 'green' at night shine through guest room windows. These windows do not have blackout blinds. Sockets on the walls of room 147 were hanging loose. Room 255 had no working stopper in either the sink or bath. Both rooms had aged, extremely uncomfortable mattresses. Upon attempting to make a noise complaint at 10pm, the reception staff were nowhere to be seen. Instead a rude, aggressive security guard had a word and then a laugh and a bro-hug with the residents causing the noise. This continued until 2.30am. Room 371 had a broken single bed. Hotel staff failed to change sheets twice, instead tucking the duvet to make it look as if it had been changed. Old decor in this room includes head height lamps on the walls that catch your face in the dark every time you walk back to bed. Again, noise was an extreme issue. Pillows were so lumpy they resembled my sons teddy. The breakfast was a disorganised mess, I was left for 10 minutes waiting for a batch of eggs. The list goes on. We didn't stay our final night, instead leaving to go to the Castleknock Hotel which is an ACTUAL 4 star hotel and was glorious, wonderful service and rooms. Truly horrified by this experience. We were originally offered a free nights stay as compensation for the experience.. I was astounded by that. Finally offered a 25% refund. Should have been a full refund after this experience.

I've been stopping here with my son fr the past 12 months. The staff are great and always look after me and my friends son and there isnt anywhere else I would want to stay. "Worst ever experienced"

From rude ignorant booking receptionist, arriving to dirty toilet and what looked like milk encrusted glasses. Not one member of staff said good morning or afternoon. No interest in complaints or help.

"Poor Service"

Dreadful treatment by the night porter who was also checking out guests early morning, very unhelpful and accusing me of not having paid even though it was paid on booking.com. Said no breakfast either

Good hotel. Stay on a Saturday night before flying out of Dublin. Easy to get to and just off the m50. Good size rooms and very clean. Would recommend if you are staying on the outskirts of Dublin city.

"Not 4 star"

3
User 18/02/2019

This hotel is not 4 star. We were in room 386 and the room still has a headboard and lamps attached to the wall from the previous furniture. There are marks on the wall where the wall has been filled and not repainted. Nicely tiled bathroom yet paint on the ceiling is cracked and peeling off and covered in mildew. No drawers at all to put your clothes in. No safe in the room and no locks on the lockers in the changing rooms for the pool. Very underwhelmed by the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful and a great location.

"Very high standard well delivered by helpful friendly staff"

5
User 08/02/2019

Lovely clean hotel, with very friendly helpful staff, large bedroom which was immaculately clean as we're the hallways up to our room. Excellent value for money, my husband and I stayed just one night but we will certainly stay here again while visiting Dublin. Easy access off the N7 as we traveled from Carlow fir a night out with friends. Will be back.

"Below standards"

2
User 08/02/2019

Road noise very load. Unable to turn the heating off in the room which meant uncomfortable nights sleep and if you opened the window for air you would have thought you were sleeping on the motorway. Fire alarm went off twice within 20mins. Had to request an ironing board 3 times in nearly hours. Someone pooped in the pool. There was a poster saying staff would book our transfer to the course with a coach company. Enquired about this and we were handed a telephone number by a rude member of staff and had to book ourselves.

"Great but beware of silly policy"

5
Road09223313923, Cavan, Ireland 04/02/2019

My mother and I stayed at the green Isle on the weekend. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. However unfortunately a credit card is needed to now book a room even if it's debited from a debit card. Neither my mother or I have one and don't want to get one either so therefore unfortunately we will not be able to stay again which we have done many of times before.
