Best Western Premier Doncaster Mount Pleasant Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel. Our room was huge with 3 beds and an elegant bathroom. I wouldn't have minded moving in! There was a raucous wedding the night of our arrival, and there was some issue of noise in the hallway. But, for the most part, the hotel did a great job of preventing serious disturbances.

Booked this for some colleagues and customers. Rooms are spot on, very spacious, with big desk to work at and a newly refurbed bathroom. Everyone agreed that the rooms were very nice. We had dinner which was very nice with lots of different options on the menu. Nice surroundings inside and out. A very successful stay.

Amazing room with large comfy bed, amazing Bath and facilites in room and bathroom, Great friendly and helpful staff and great Breakfast. We stayed in one of the Spa suites and it was amazing. We had room service for our evening meal which was also lovely. Would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying here

What a treat to go along and relax in superb surroundings. The staff are welcoming and efficient. I tried the new Bamboo massage - what a delight. It was a case of feel the pain feel the gain but the massage went from the tips of your toes to the top of your head! The warm bamboo and oil was massaged into your body for over an hour. I came away feeling wonderful and booked in straight away for the same treat next month. I can highly recommend this treatment , at this hotel. You can then go down into the restaurant and enjoy afternoon tea - what a treat!!

The Mount Pleasant is well-run and efficient with a friendly staff. The rooms are of a high standard. It is a spacious hotel with plenty of places to hide away for private meetings or group together in the well-stocked bar.

My 2nd spa suite visit in 5 months this visit very different as it was our 10th anniversary (the last one being a hen party). We stayed in the Sanctuary Spa Suite, staff were fabulous and friendly, the decor/surroundings were perfect. The suite was just divine and so relaxing for our romantic getaway. The bed was enormous and so comfy, the jaccussi was massive and the sauna was brilliant all easy to use. We had a bar meal and drinks in the Captain's Bar which was with us pretty quickly and was lovely. Overall experience fabulous. We will be back again for another spa experience hopefully pretty soon.

I often travel down to this area, And always try to stay here. The rooms and service are excellent. I would happily recomend it to anyone. In my opinion it would be an ideal location for a wedding and reception.

We did have a very good night at the hotel and we had a very good breakfast.We always stay at the hotel when we go to St Ledger we are always made welcome and the rooms are very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Went on business and wasn't disappointed the hotel was, great. Excellent staff, the food was good and the service was excellent. Why not 5; the restaurant needs a bit TLC. Free WiFi. Large car park. There is a spa but I didn't go.

Beautiful hotel and bedrooms, we stayed in a junior suite which was huge, very specious and well equipped, very comfy bed (shame check out is so early 10:30am), bathroom was gorj huge jacuzzi bath and walk-in shower suited me and my partner perfect! Lovely grounds too. The restaurant on site is a must!! We had a 3-course meal each and the food was great!! Lovely cocktails too, thoroughly enjoyed it, service was 5*! Would definitely visit again :)

Lovely hotel a few miles outside Doncaster. Worth paying that little e trap for an executive room or higher. Rooms very pleasant and clean, and staff friendly and helpful. This is my third time this year here and I'm always happy with the hotel.

I've been here with my partner several times and can not fault anything. We celebrated our engagement as well as birthdays and special occasions. The tribute acts are really good and you get a discount on rooms if you stop over. The afternoon tea is delicious if looking to spoil someone. The meals in the main restaurant are excellent. All the staff are really lovely and cannot fault them at all. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely exec room at function rate so great value. Room spacious with ample hospitality items. Comfy bed. Spotless room. Having to stand in bathroom to use hairdryer was not great but then too late I found another to use at the dressing table area!! Breakfast not as good as it could have been. Buffet service and eggs, bacon and sausages all too dried up. Also toaster a bit useless- 3 times round to get some colour.

Lovely hotel. Very nice staff. Mobile signal kept cutting out inside hotel which is not great for business calls. Food was great , would have liked a few pasta dishes on restaurant menu. Breakfast very good. Slept well which is unusual for me. My room was very pleasant and comfortable.

We stayed last night 7/9 for our 16th aniversary in the sanctuary suite. When we arrived the young lady on reception was very welcoming and efficient even though she stated it was only her second day. Unfortunetley i didnt catch her name im sure she will be an assett to the company. Please pass on our compliments. We got to our room which was massive and very clean. The bathroom with sauna and spa bath were brilliant. The room service was quick and efficient. We couldnt work out how to use the sauna ?? so i rang down to reception and a duty manager was sent who arrived within minutes, he set up the sauna for us. We had a problem with the spa bath its jets kept coming on every 20 mins or so, someone came and it was dealt with promptly. The breakfast this morning was a buffet style with plenty of choice and lovly food. We had a great stay and will definetley be returning.

Wow, what can I say....we had the BEST wedding ever and that was due to Andrew (wedding coordinator) and his team. I can't fault any of the staff and the young girl who helped set out on the morning (sorry unsure of name) was fantastic and helped us with everything. The DJ was fantastic!!! The food fabulous....if you are considering having a wedding here you will not be disappointed. This evening we have stayed on an extra evening in a luxurious spa room..... which has been amazing. So a massive thank-you to Andrew and his team. Outstanding!

I spent £500 in 48 hours but wasn't enough for the general manager Richard [-] who came smashing on my bedroom door to leave the room at 11:30 the next morning. My sick daughter was in bed resting but he wasscreaming at me that we had to leave or will get fined for an overstay. When I saw him in reception he never apologized and barred chose to argue back. Can imagine what a bully he must be to his staff. NEVER EVER GO

Myself and my wife stayed for one night after a function on 24/08/2018 and really enjoyed the whole event. The place is clean and has every facility anyone would need. We had breakfast together with friends and it was the very good for a buffet type affair. The staff were extremely pleasant all day, night and morning. There is no air conditioning but we had a comfortable stay

Stayed here with work and hotel is lovely Grounds,reception , lounge and bar all great Staff are very friendly and helpful in all areas of hotel My room was huge and bathroom too with modern walk in shower Bed was really comfy and supposedly 2 types of pillows on bed - firm and luxury soft but NO there were 2 rock hard pillows - firm i guess for people who like them but not for me Luxury soft were hard lumpy affairs with absolutely no softness in sight ! Such a shame as a let down for such a great room I will definitely return to this hotel but with my own pillow in tow

Had a lovely time here for afternoon tea, had it in one of the quiet side rooms. Lovely food, friendly staff and fantastic service! Grounds are beautiful as well. I'll definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone

This is a large hotel but doesn't feel crowded even when busy. The décor may be a bit OTT for some tastes, but it is very smart and clean - and comfortable. My wife and I were fortunate to be given an upgrade, but even in the booked room I am certain the stay would have been a pleasure. Only a one-night B&B this time; but the breakfast was varied and very good (American pancakes recommended for those who prefer alternatives to full English). Huge car park. Non-smoking and pet-free got our votes. The clientele were generally very smart, too - which is often not the case even in expensive hotels. Integral to the experience was the South Yorkshire friendliness by all members of staff: a breath of fresh air. For tourists, Bawtry is a quaint local town.

very short visit, back their again tonight but couldn't have asked for more, polite courteous and a credit to the best western family! the staff were more than happy to talk and to discuss anything with us at any time and when we had to leave by 3am they put the coffee making facilities on just for us ??

Short family trip out to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Found this hotel nearby recommended by the YWP, so decided to stay over to lessen the drive. So glad we did! Fabulous! Couldn't fault anything about this hotel, it's staff or amenities. Would definitely stay again!

Our daughter chose this as her wedding venue, and no-one was disappointed by any part of the occasion. The outdoor and indoor venues for the ceremony were both beautiful, and the function room and bar well furnished and welcoming. The organisation was slick and the service excellent all day. In addition many of the guests stayed overnight before and after the wedding and all were impressed by the rooms. Having booked a standard double, I was amazed at the size of of both the bedroom and bathroom, and very pleased with all the included facilities in the room, even including complementary smartphones, We had an excellent dinner for 14 family the night before the celebration so the hotel restaurant gains high praise too. Finally the location is perfect, only a few miles out of town, the hotel is 2 minutes drive from the airport, and just yards from the new link road to the M18. We would definitely return.

We stayed here overnight for a friend's wedding. When we arrived the grounds were beautiful and the hotel looked lovely. The staff were very friendly and we were quickly checked in. We had only booked a standard room as we knew we wouldnt be in it for very long so when we arrived at our room.we were very pleased because it was huge and beautifully presented. The bathroom was huge too with a bath and separate shower. It was all spotless clean. Lots of complimentary items too. There is an Iron, hairdryer, bath robes and slippers, heater and you can have a choice of pillows. The bed was very comfortable. The room the evening reception was held in was beautiful and the food was lovely and plenty of it. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and again the service was very good. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again and just wished we could have stayed longer this visit.

It is not often a hotel room takes me by surprise but the excellent room at this very good hotel did exactly that. I don't often stay in Best Westerns so I must have missed the idea of a Best Western Premier and overlooked it when I booked. I had resigned myself to a basic hotel where leaving could not come soon enough. Just the opposite. The bedroom was huge, with a similarly large, massively comfortable bed and that rare thing, a hotel TV that worked. Sure, some of the occasional furniture was dated but who cares. The bathroom belonged in a 5 star hotel; not often do you find a bath and a walk in shower but this room had both and two sinks; big towels too. The restaurant serves a traditional mix of dishes - the home made burger was very good, and breakfast was similarly impressive with plenty of choice. Staff can't do enough for you. Location was great for my business trip to the area. Robin Hood Airport is close by so if an overnight stay is needed before an early flight then this is ideal. Close to all main roads and routes with a big car park, there is a lot to like about the Mount Pleasant.

I recently had a series of complex business meetings with a large group of business associates and it was agreed that we would all travel to the Doncaster area and stay at the Mount Pleasant Hotel. I do not look forward to these events normally, and most of the hotels are bland and impersonal. Quite the reverse at Mount Pleasant - the room was superb - large and spacious, big comfortable bed, sofa and chairs, antique writing desk, all the usual amenities plus complementary bottled waters and a lavish bathroom. The food was excellent - I look forward to the opportunity of staying again - a delight and I would recommend this hotel to anyone

We were staying on the same night a wedding was happening in the building. Arriving back to our room around midnight, the room adjoining ours was still playing loud music. However after a quick conversation at reception, they happily moved and upgraded us to avoid the noise without having to disturb the wedding guests. The first room was more modern and well appointed, the second room was much larger but felt dated, though the four poster bed was very comfy. Unfortunately the second room didn't have any air conditioning and the hot water didn't work when we came to shower in the morning. After alerting staff to this at check out, they comped what we'd taken from the mini bar. Breakfast had a good spread with the standard hot and bakery items. Overall we obviously had a few niggles but enjoyed the stay and would like to commend the brilliant service from the staff.

Amazing hotel such a lovely location, I stayed in the sanctuary suite and loved it!!! Smelled so good inside and in the corridor too, room and bathroom were so clean. The bose system was amazing such a lovely touch. Only issue was there was no crushed ice for cocktails and I also asked for one champagne glass and two were put into my suite, one was not cleaned properly it had a lipstick mark on it. Otherwise everything else was super! I will be coming back.

Last weekend, we celebrated our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our annual celebratory meal at Mount Pleasant. We had our wedding day at Mount Pleasant 6 years ago, and were so impressed that we have made the meal an annual tradition since. Usually we would go and sit in the front lounge with a drink while we eat for our table to become ready, but this time, despite the hotel being busier than usual due to a wedding, we were seated straight away and had no waiting at all! We were sat down in the beautiful dining room and given the menus by the friendly waiter. Once food was ordered, there was very little wait before it was brought to us, and was fresh and delicious. We had made the hotel aware that the visit was to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and following the meal and the bill being requested, we were presented with a plate with “happy anniversary” written in chocolate, and a complimentary selection of chocolates, which we thought was a very nice touch. From our amazing wedding day, up to present day, including the various meals we have had and various functions we have attended, we have been very impressed my the consistently high level of service offered by the hotel and its staff, and will continue to visit the hotel for the foreseeable future!

Staff could not be friendlier. The room was amazing, very comfy bed, excellent facilities and even a smart phone to use for free. A pleasant atmosphere in the bar for a lovely meal. The Gin menu was an added bonus.

Booked a one night stay, as we were flying out from Doncaster Airport the following morning at 06:50. Booked a twin room online and it was a fairly easy process. Arrived on the day, check in was quick and the receptionist very pleasant. We were asked if we wanted an early morning call, and as we did, booked one for 04:00. Got to the the room and it was enormous, it not only had a twin beds (as requested) but also a double bed, plus a settee positioned in front of a wall mounted flat screen TV. The wardrobe was massive and had four bathrobes hung up ready for use if wanted, and I believe it also had a built in safe. The bathroom was equally massive with a bath at one end and a large shower at the other, with a sink and toilet in between, my Wife remarked that this was by far the largest hotel room that we have stayed in. We had a late afternoon tea for two, which though was expensive (£15.50p per person) filled us up nicely. We had no trouble getting to sleep in the comfy beds (and as an extra insurance bought our own alarm clock with us!). At the due time 4am our alarm went off (NO EARLY MORNING CALL RECEIVED!!), and we got up washed and showered. We left the hotel at approx 04:35 ish in plenty of time to drive the couple of miles to the airport. Now regarding the none early morning call, this could have had serious consequences for us, because had we overslept and missed our flight then a nigh on £2,000 holiday would have gone up in smoke! I asked the overnight Guy manning reception what happened to our early morning call? His reply was a startled "sorry, nobody told me there was one". I find it incredible that the check in receptionist asked us if we wanted one, and then duly noted the time on our check in form, and then nothing was done further to ensure that the request was met, either the receptionist leaves a message for the night duty Guy to make the call, or the night duty Guy has to check to see if there are any calls he has to make, clearly neither instance occurred, and as I said, this could have had serious consequences for us, and I'm probably wrong but I'm willing to bet that somewhere in the small print the Hotel would distance itself from all blame should it ever happen that a guest missed their holiday flight because the early morning call they booked never happened! It was a pity this incident happened, as I would quite happily have awarded this Hotel five stars, as it did happen (without any unfortunate consequences) I have deducted a star.

The room was fine, although the pillows and bed were not very comfortable. Why do so many hotels have rock hard pillows? I had dinner in the hotel and the staff were fairly busy. I had not been to the hotel before and said so, but no one particularly took charge to help me understand the ordering system. There were a number of people serving, but the service was relatively lacklustre. The food was good and only let down by the service. At breakfast, the service could also have been better. Overall, I'd give it one more go and hope I went on a day when the team were having an off day!

Two nights in South Yorkshire in a hotel I first visited over fifty years ago. And the first highlight was the upgrade to the largest double room imaginable - four poster bed, two sofas, desk, vast bathroom with bath, shower and all the rest! At under £100 per night, I was a seriously happy guest! One afternoon tea, which was like an afternoon tea! And one supper in the bar, which was exactly like a supper in the bar! And two first rate breakfasts, with waiters able to comprehend the concept of two sausages on one plate. What more could one want? First Rate.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, bedroom was hugely with twin beds and a sofa! Lovely spacious bathroom. We opted to eat in the Captains Bar, although food slightly higher priced which is expected for hotels it tasted fabulous. All topped off by a cocktail as the sun set. Shame we are only staying one night ??

The staff made my mum and dads wedding anniversary a day to remember. They could do enough for us. Coping with several elderly guests with grace and patience. Food was delicious and everyone had a lovely time. 18 very satisfied guests. Diamond!!!!

Bought a voucher for afternoon tea for Father's Day as a surprise for my husband ,so we booked in for today well we thought we had on arrival we were told we had not booked but not to worry we can fit you in.the dining area is lovely we ordered the food with a tea and coffee it was delicious ?? very happy most enjoyable well worth it

As always, a fantastic stay. Food was amazing and staff lovely and helpful. The champagne and chocolates in our room for our anniversary was a lovely touch. Love this place and will obviously be back again.

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel because we were visiting relatives. We had a fabulous, spacious room great for our daughter who uses a power chair. The staff were friendly, the food was great and we had a lovely weekend. Great accessibility for wheelchairs but to be truly inclusive hotels need to provide wheelchair friendly rooms with walk in shower and make sure a hoist is available.

I would recommend the hotel to anyone. I have stayed many times without problems. The staff are always helpful, the hotel and surroundings are pleasant to the eye. The hotel has some great high end rooms which are worth a try.

Late lunch, staff very pleasant and seemed very attentive but actually one of the two meals was totally incorrect. The replacement was delicious but I'd nearly finished my meal by the time my friends replacement appeared. Desserts and coffee very nice. My friends dessert was free of charge due to the mix up. Good recompense.

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of times now and the place continues to put the bar very high in style and comfort for guests. The rooms are superbly appointed and fully outfitted for the guests to the highest standards and facilities. It costs a bit to stay there, but believe me its worth the money, the service is top notch which you tend to expect and everything about this place is wonderful. Food is of the highest standard and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants real quality in their accommodation. A massive range of rooms are available for you to choose from and suiting from the single traveller to the group booking. Plenty of car parking is available as well. Highly recommended place to stay.

Stayed overnight on a business trip and was very impressed with the size of the room which included a fire place, sofa and large desk. The phone reception is terrible but the WiFi is good and the room had a free to use mobile phone that you could take around the hotel. The food was good and the service efficient and friendly.

We booked to stay here overnight on the ESPA Escape package. We travelled as a couple and it was our first overnight night stay at the hotel, however I have visited a 3 times previously as a day guest to have afternoon tea and spa treatments. On arrival, all as expected the hotel and grounds are stunning and the welcome at reception was warm and friendly and we were soon checked in and on our way to our room. We stayed in room 283 (I think it was an executive room) it was huge! Decorated beautifully and contained everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfy and the bathroom (again huge) had a lovely powerful hot shower as well as a bath. Our stay included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was lovely, we both had steaks for our main, cooked to perfection and served with the chunkiest chips we have ever seen! Starters and desserts were equally as nice and service whilst being friendly efficient was not over the top and intrusive. We had our desserts and after dinner drinks in one of the private lounges, which was a nice touch. Breakfast the following morning was good, again efficient service. The food was nice however we prefer to order from a menu rather than budget style (there is a small selection on the menu, pancakes, poached eggs, kippers...) but the cooked breakfast was from the buffet, all adequate. However, some items were a little cooler than we would have liked and it was a bit hit and miss what you got as some items had not been re-stocked when we went to get what we wanted. We had our treatments the morning of check out. As fabulous as ever, I had a facial and my husband had a hot stone massage. All carried out with great professionalism and attention to detail. I always feel so relaxed whenever I use the Therapie here. The only two things that makes this review a 4 star rather than a 5 is that the hotel was really noisy I'm until about 1am as there was a wedding party in the hotel. The music was loud and other guest were a little inconsiderate (moving furniture and banging doors on their late return the their rooms. Also, we didn't have a cold water supply to our room, it was like warm. So not for drinking and not the most pleasant to brush your teeth with. We queried this with reception and they advise that it wasn't advisable to drink. The hotel do provide a complimentary bottle of water in the mink bar but anything above this has to be purchased from the bar. Something I've never come across in my stays at other hotels. Overall, we had a great relaxing stay and we will definitely return. We are considering one of their spa suites next time, they sound amazing.

We went as a party, we had a ‘basic' room which was like a suite, fabulous bed, bathroom, separate sitting area and huge tv with DVDs available as well. Others had rooms with incredible baths that filled from the ceiling with sauna and jacuzzi.. one room had a swinging bed ????.. gardens were superb, staff faultless, a wonderful experience all round.

After staying in several hotel in the last month and them not being quite right.. i arrive here cynical..got to my room and was just relieved at how special and lovely it is.. the cleanliness and the attenrion to detail is superb..had dinner in the bar lounge and was not disappointed the best pork dish I've ever had! My gin was prepared perfecrly and the service was spot on..well done everyone!.. it was truly a pleasure to stay!

We stayed here for my niece's wedding and the hotel and staff made it a fantastic experience, well recommended. The wedding was so organised and the grounds beautiful, oh and the breakfast was a proper breakfast that saw us right for the day.

To whom it may concern, Me and my husband have returned home from what we can only say was a truly disappointing experience . We booked the mount pleasant due to our family and friends saying how wonderful their stay was. I originally booked the belenia suite, however after seeing the new tepeardrium (excuse spelling) spa-suite on social media, we got in touch and upgraded at a total cost of approx £300 for one night stay breakfast and early check in. We arrived, two receptionist working to be stood a while at reception to be even acknowledged. After a while a lady with short black hair and very short hair attended to us, lacking in customer service, she was to be honest a little abrupt when checking in we were told she had to see if the room Was even read yet, even though we booked early check in... When arriving at our room, we realised we were only given one room Card key, which was a real inconvenience, especially when we spent the next hour and half trying to get the facilities to work. We turned the TV on only For it to skip and be blurry as though a wire was loose. So we then thought we would ring reception advise them and order room service (drinks)... the phone wasn't working and no information on what drinks are available, so even if the phone was working we wouldn't have a clue what drink we could or couldn't have. My husband went to reception to advise of issues and was told we will need to wait for an engineer.... he the. Asked for a drinks menus and was told to go to another section and ask there... again no customer service or customer car.... When my husband came back, and informed me we had to Wait for An engineer to come to the room, which meant; A. We couldn't use the spa facilities for Obvious reasons which was the reason why we wanted to check in early B. Even if we wanted to we couldn't leave the room as we had to wait, so the next hour consisted of us sat looking at the blurry static TV which after a few channel changes it worked . After an over an hour we enquired when the engineer would be making an appearance as it was now 3.30pm and we had reservations and a taxi for 4.15. We then had a visit for what we were advised was the owner, we explained the issues but the TV is partly working it's the music channel i believe channel 18 was the main issue, he apologised for the phone issue and advised we could Use the mobile in the room! Great! As we were leaving having unable to shower for our dinner reservations and unable to have used the spa facilities and young man passed us a complimentary bottle of Processco, which was a lovely gesture. As we came back From dinner we enjoyed the room. We then around 9.15 to Order some room service before the full Menu ended, the mobile phone is intermittent for service by the time we got through to reception due to the phone loosing signal it was 9.45, therefore unable To order what we wanted, We also decided to have our breakfast in our room, as the lady who checked us in advised if we go for 9am we won't get in and we noticed in the guestbook we could have breakfast in our room, we were run told we would have to pay an extra £10 each!! Even though we've already paid for a cooked breakfast! Just more disappointment and lack of customer care. Beautiful bed by the way very comfy, I did have to clean the shelf on the headboard as it was dusty and remnants of the dust can be found on the floor, We didn't need to be woken by our alarm as the rooms alarm went off at 8am This morning! So after that there was no point in trying to get any more sleep, so we headed out for breakfast,,,,, Disgusting! The hash browns what was left of them were not cooked through, the beans were cold, the bacon was cold and dry. So we thought we would try the continental, again what was left of it , when having a buffet it needs to be re stocked when the level of food is running low, safe to say we just left and left our breakfast . We were going to make our disappointment known a checkout , however when checking out, the lady just advised us of our amount and that's it, no “ how was your stay” or “how was your sleep” nothing . We were just a payment I understand teething problems with new rooms but at £300 there's no excuse and customer service is second to none, The girls on the bar were amazing especially the girl with long red hair, however the tall man with black hair requires training so rude. I hope my feedback is taken on board, this trip was supposed to have been a relaxing retreat for us both, after having a turmoil past three years with my husband being made disabled, truly disappointing experience ,

We stayed for two nights while visiting friends nearby, in one of their standard rooms with breakfast included. The room was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a comfortable bed (memory foam mattress or topper, I think), thick curtains and air conditioning that actually worked without being noisy. Everything we needed was included, and all to a high standard. We ordered breakfast in our room one morning, which arrived exactly when we'd ordered it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Altogether I couldn't fault anything about our stay.

In Doncaster on family business overnight ,not impressed by what was on offer in the town centre,so having the car happy to travel 5 miles south to the MPH with its direct and easy access to the town centre.The hotel was a real find,nothwithstanding the slightly old fashioned furnishings in both public areas and bedrooms ,patterns and artex are everywhere! However on the things that matter , the welcome ,food ,service, room and bathroom amenities, value ,the hotel is very good indeed.Had dinner in the restaurant in a party of four ,great wine list and very good food,although the restaurant lacks atmosphere and I find it niggling when the serving staff retreat to the kitchen between courses (o.k. restaurant not that busy) and have to be" found" ,as I said a niggle and nothing more!

We booked a night at the Best Western Premier Doncaster Mount Pleasant Hotel on the night of 27 May 18. We booked a ‘comfort room' at a cost of £109 and were allocated room 216. The room itself was a good size, although with only one small window it was a bit dark. The bed was large and the bathroom seemed very nice. Unfortunately, our initial good impression was rather spoilt when we found several long dark hairs on the pillows and sheets on the bed and inside the bed. We picked these off and took them to reception to highlight this and were informed that the duty manager would check the room whilst we went for a drink and a walk around the hotel grounds. We returned about an hour later and were informed that the duty manager had been in and all was well in the room. We went back to our room to relax and freshen up, but unfortunately found more issues with the room. The table lamp didn't work – it appeared it was broken as the bulb wasn't blown. Then we found a few issues with the bathroom – there were more hairs around the toilet – again of the long and black variety. In addition, the sink took an age to drain – so much so that after shaving it took 3-4 minutes to drain it fully and clean the sink of foam etc. The shower had a slate effect floor, which looked very nice; however, it was also very slippery – and I slid when exiting. Luckily no damage was done thankfully; however, a warning sign may be appropriate – I would hate for someone less steady to slip or fall. We decided to try out the fayre in the bar and enjoyed a rum cocktail and a pint of beer – we didn't want much to eat, so decided on a sandwich to share and some chips. The sandwich was reasonable; however, we got a paltry amount of chips – that were neither particularly hot or enjoyable - and at a cost of £6.95 and £3.95 respectively, we didn't consider this as good value for money. We decided to call it a night and retired to our room. We both slept OK, although we did hear some guests returning to their rooms late on in the night. We awoke early and went through for breakfast which was of a good standard with plenty of choice. Overall, we were a bit underwhelmed by our visit. We have passed the hotel several times and this was supposed to be a treat – but was somewhat spoilt by little things. We have stayed at much nicer places at a fraction of the cost. Maybe we got unlucky – and although the reception staff acknowledged and apologised for the various shortfalls that we highlighted, no reimbursement was alluded to at any time – and not even a complimentary drink was proffered…!

This hotel is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. It's in a lovely remote location with lovely gardens and views. It has a very traditional feel but with lots of modern touches. We had executive rooms which were fantastic! Large with lots of additions such as complimentary water and a ‘travel buddy'. A device for us to use to see the sights of Doncaster and the surrounding area. They even had smart TVs, something that really impressed our teenage daughter. The rooms were large with a fabulous modern bathroom with double sinks and plenty of toiletries. The only thing that let it down was the service at breakfast. We only stayed one night so I'm sure this isn't the norm, but they ran out of lots of items and it took ages to replace them. At least half an hour but the waiting staff were very helpful and tried their best to minimise the problem. Overall a great stay and can't wait to stay again!

Myself and my daughter came to be part of my friends wedding. It was a magical day, she was able to get married outside. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. A fantastic day had by all. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, just what we needed after a long day.

We would just like to thank the staff at Mount Pleasant for making our Wedding Day such a perfect one. A very special thank you to Anna King for her help , her friendliness and her attention to detail , nothing was ever to much trouble for her and her lovely professional but warm manner makes her a pleasure to deal with Anna you are an asset to Mount Pleasant . The rooms our guests stayed in were standard rooms and they were all fantastic and extremely good value for how lovely they were. The food at our wedding breakfast was delicious all our guests commented on how good the food was , Anna was always discreetly in the background ensuring everything was perfect and the staff were attentive . Every member of staff we met on the day were also polite and friendly We had a few unfortunate issues but these have been addressed separately . Some haven't been dealt with in the best way but that is down to lack of attention from other management . Thank you to Nikki for her helping to rectify what she could I didn't meet you but Rob said you were extremely helpful also and thanks to you all went smoothly We look forward to staying with you again in one of your beautiful spa suites in July , such a beautiful relaxing hotel we are so glad we chose for our venue Lisa & Rob Burns

Very impressive building but very disappointing decor especially in bedrooms. Rooms look newly decorated and contemporary on website but we stayed in a junior suite very spacious but very old fashioned and dingy looking.

Wonderful overnight stay at Mount Pleasant Hotel. Stayed in a Junior Suite which was amazing as always with this hotel. Very, very very night standard throughout hotel. Just wish you had a pool. And we only live 1 mile away but we love staying and relaxing here

Five minutes drive from the airport and still quiet. A large hotel catering for weddings at the weekend. Good spa and fitness. Food was nice and reasonably priced for a hotel. My room was a family room and was huge. Recommended

Great place to stay my favourite. I always stay here if the room is available friendly staff can't do enough for you. Free use of a mobile phone in rooms now. If the weather is good you can enjoy a walk in the garden.

After our first visit to the Mount Pleasant a couple of years ago, I always told my husband that I wanted to return again. So, when we were visiting with family in the area recently, he suggested the Mount Pleasant and I was thrilled that he booked an overnight stay. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to the most fantastic room I've ever been in! Not a 4 poster (king) bed, but FiVE!!! lol And the jet tub was so inviting that I couldn't resist! The staff were very attentive. The dinner we had in the pub was delicious. The breakfast was more than plentiful. We even booked a private room for a family reunion which was very accommodating. For the price, service and accommodation, we will never look to another hotel whenever we're in the South Yorkshire area. We'll be back!!! Thank you.

This hotel is beautifully decorated and set in a vintage but modern setting. It has large featured bedrooms and even some spa rooms. The staff are of the highest quality, and are always friendly but professional at all times. The restaurant is lovely with a nice range of meals at reasonable prices. It's a must if you are looking for a hotel in Doncaster. We can't wait to go back .

We were up from Surrey for a family funeral. Service over, time for refreshments. This venue had been talked up by our family, but what a disappointment, the gardens are beautiful the frontage very impressive, in desperate need of a coffee, what is it about large hotels that are unable to provide a decent cup of coffee, I don't have a problem using the thermos type vessels, but the coffee was dreadful, according to other mourners the tea was no better, went and bought a coke, next the sandwiches my husband had what he thought was a beef sandwich, case of hunt the beef, we were very disappointed. Did not make a fuss as the lead mourner was very distressed about the loss of her parent. If I had been paying I would of had a conversation with the management..

You may have thought the Mount Pleasant was a four star hotel, but it deserves far more for the personal VIP treatment we received from every member of staff we met and the one's we didn't behind the scenes. Thank you to Sian, Jo, Kate and Jill on Reception; Andy, Shannon, Callum, Josh and Hamid in the Restaurant; Shaun and Alison in the Kitchen; but especially Ross for being so thoughtful and making us feel so special; and also Debbie and Richard. Right from our greeting, seeing our room, service at the bar, service in the restaurant, the drinks were awesome, the food was spectacular and we were given the VIP treatment all the way. This has been our second visit and we now have the bug to try every suite in the hotel, because every room has its wonderful quirks to enjoy fabulous comfort in luxury. Which leaves me to say the hotel deserves the AAA Quality Service Award for Excellence with a five diamond rating. Thank you all and I look forward to our next stay with you. After going to the restaurant at mount pleasant I highly recommend it. The food and service were second to none. It is at the top end of the pricing scale for Doncaster restaurants but well worth the money in my opinion. I will be returning very soon.

Can't say anything negative about our recent trip. We stayed in Caldaria Spa room and OMG what a room!! We had an absolute blast using the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Luxury and space at its best. We've been all over the world, but this is our favourite room so far... Great facilities - the bar was wonderful and the £15 gin flight was excellent value for money. We had a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was delicious and presented to a high standard. All staff were welcoming and helpful. We are planning to visit in the summer when the new spa suites are ready. Highly recommend, but you MUST book a spa suite.

The Room was very clean -9/10 The Shower ( limited water )-5/10 The Bed ( old sagging mattress) 1/10 ( that's generous! Why build a great facility but fail in the basics ? I could not recommend this hotel if you are looking for the basics being right .

Amazing room! Staff are lovely and welcoming and there for your every need, the room was lovely, very spacious and the mattress was so comfy. There was some lovely special touches to the room and we celebrated an anniversary here so we will be taking the teddy too to celebrate and remember this occasion. Will 100% return

We live in Doncaster and have only visited this hotel for daytime events. As it was our 2nd wedding anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a stay in the Sanctuary Spa Suite......Wow! What a treat!! Now, the spa rooms are pretty expensive, but it really was like living in luxury for the evening. We paid for late check out to get more time in the room and also had breakfast in the room. I did think that the £10 charge for each cooked breakfast in the room was extortionate as we had already paid for breakfast, so we went for the continental option, which was lovely and actually made a nice change. We spent quite a while trying to choose our spa suite before booking, and I feel that this one is a great balance of having a lovely grand, more traditional room, with a modern and well designed bathroom. The only questionable design in the bedroom was the mirror and a piece of art on the wall that were very garish and out of place in the traditional style of the room. The bathroom was brilliant, containing a very spacious Jacuzzi bath which was surrounded with mood lighting, a refreshing large shower and a lovely sauna which was just right for 2 people. In general, the staff were friendly and efficient, the Garden restaurant was amazing, and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My friend and I went for afternoon tea yesterday, the food was beautiful, the staff were very polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them and the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit!!

We had our wedding reception here in 1995 and have returned many times since. The hotel has gone through lots of changes and additions - all really lovely. We are always greeted by friendly faces, the rooms are beautiful, the food is wonderful and the whole experience is always great. Just a fabulous hotel.

What a fantastic hotel! Impeccable quality of service, great food, great drinks. We spent two days with friends and everyone came away with a great impression. We even had a private room organised and that was very professional. Overall I would recommend this establishment to anyone. I was proud to come back to my home town.

Stayed here for the third time on the evening of Saturday 31st March 2018 but unfortunately in room 154 which is the first room past the double doors leading to the bedrooms. It seemed that everyone had to pass the door to our room and they were not quiet. In addition we could also hear the music from the wedding celebration in the function suite. My recommendation would be to avoid room 154 if noise is a problem for you. Apart from the noise room 154 is fine with plenty of space and a good bathroom with separate bath and shower. The service was as previously very good as was the breakfast. This noisy experience probably won't put us off using this hotel again but we will make sure to request a room further towards the back of the hotel.

We stayed in the Caldaria spa suite and it was stunning. Everything about the room was perfect except for one thing! There was a half drunk bottle of water left in the fridge by the cleaning staff! Disgusting thing to leave in there given the type of room it is. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and the food was lovely. Excellent level of service throughout the whole dining experience.

We celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary on the 17th March,2018. Everything was just perfect. Clair helped with planning and Andrew looked after us on the day. All meals both afternoon and evening were beautiful. Many of our guests stayed over and all of them were happy with their rooms. We stayed in room 277 which was huge. I can definitely recommend this hotel for a function or for a very comfortable stay.

On the eve a house move we were delighted to find quality service and hospitality. The room was stunning and unique Restaurant was full Ofambience with attentive staff. Great food great wine gin cocktail and coffee in one of the many snug sitting rooms

It is rare to stay in any hostelry and find 100% of staff to be so friendly, so helpful, so efficient and who genuinely appear to enjoy their job and enjoy looking after their guests. Clearly a notch up from your usual, Premiers etc. Friendly, professional staff, quality rooms, excellent food. Only slight negative is the bar prices. Well worth a visit. I went as a guest at a wedding, which was one of their packages. Very impressed.

Stayed here on business for a few nights and have to say the room was large but cosy and though it's decor seemed dated it was befitting to the rest of the hotel's age with heavy fabric curtains. My room was cold on arrival and I the quilt was thin. I turned up the radiator and all was set for a great nights sleep. The bar served real ale and it was well kept. The staff were helpful and friendly both on reception and in the breakfast room.

Amazing night away! We stayed in one of the spa suites it was beautiful. The only thing I would say is the tv could have been bigger for the size of the room and a bottle opener would have been handy. We ate in the bar area rather than the restaurant for our evening meal we opted for that as it was a little more relaxed. I believe the room we had was the sanctuary spa suite, we are looking forward to trying the other ones on our next special occasion.

Stayed here during a meeting in South Yorkshire. 10 mins from Doncaster town. Quaint English hotel with character and very friendly helpful staff at front desk. Large rooms and bathroom. Phone and internet signal is patchy from a combination of the location and the sprawling nature of the building. Good parking for self drivers.

Booked a pamper party. Room 275 was lovely and big for the party. The buffet was not very good at all. It was disappointing with the selection as there was no pizza, no crisps, no chips and no salads. The potato wedges were heavily seasoned with paprika and were not crispy at all. The wraps were ham, salmon, cheese and egg mayo? The only good thing we're the chicken strips. The morning breakfast was nice and the rooms were a good size.

Very friendly and helpful staff at the hotel, even with the hotel been full they went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant as possible. The service was excellent throughout the hotel. Overall a excellent stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for a dinner dance. Dinner was excellent, baked salmon starter, beef wellington and a plate of four rhubarb desserts. There was a nice lounge area for a quiet drink and chat whilst the disco was on. Bedroom was large and comfortable with a country house feel. Also very quiet and nice and dark with the curtains drawn. Breakfast was a hot buffet, the bacon and mushrooms were especially good and service was excellent throughout. Free wifi in the hotel. After checking out went for a walk from the hotel on public footpaths across heathland and through woods for an hour before driving home.

Stayed here for a 2 day conference. Excellent hotel, friendly staff, lovely food and wonderful and comfy rooms mine was huge, with a glorious bathroom. Bed really comfy and sofa was too. Excellent writing freak and lighting perfect. This is the 2nd time I have stayed here for work will do so again

Came here at the weekend for my mums birthday and had afternoon tea. The staff were friendly, very attentive and the room was beautifully decorated. The afternoon tea was lovely with a variety of open sandwiches, cakes and scones for £14.95 which I felt was worth the money. Will definitely be coming back soon!

This hotel is totally beautiful. We arrived a little late, check in and check out was very friendly and efficient. The reception area and the lounge was very warm and welcoming. I relaxed instantly just walking in! The room.....wow! We had an executive room and it was beyond my expectations. It was stunning! The room was spotless and very clean! It was very large, I could have done a cartwheel if I wanted to! The bathroom was amazing, large with a lovely big bath and an amazing shower! There was a comfy sitting area and a large TV. I love it when you walk into a hotel room and you're actually taken aback by how wonderful it looks. There was a quality hospitality tray with a lot of choice. The room had everything you needed! Ironing board and iron, good hairdryer, and plenty of complimentary toiletries. There were very soft bath robes and slippers provided. The bed was very big an extremely comfy. It was so quiet and I slept soundlessly all night. We had a meal in the restaurant and I can not recommend it highly enough. The food and the service was sublime! There is an amazing selection of food and drink. Order was received in good time, even though they were fairly busy. All the food was delicious and our waiter Lewis was very friendly and informative. My partner had the fillet steak and said it was the best steak he had ever eaten! Highly recommend the restaurant! Please eat in if you are staying, you will not regret it! Breakfast was also delicious. There was a very good selection of continental, and also a good choice for cooked. We had booked for full breakfast so we had access to both. There was something to everyone. I had a full breakfast and my partner had pancakes. All was freshly cooked with quality delicious ingredients. Served in very good time with a lovely cheery waitress! Overall the stay was amazing from start to finish! Cannot recommend highly enough, we can't wait to go back!

Another super lunch January 2018 with friends. As always - superb service + food. The real high point was the lovely Corey - a delight to have as our server. Such a friendly, warm young man who couldn't do enough for us. We will return and return to your lovely establishment. Once again, many thanks for your kind care and attention.

I had originally booked this hotel online to stay 1 night in september (the prepayment option online no refunds or amendment's) I rang the hotel telling them of an unfortunate circumstance and that i wouldnt be able to make that date they kindly and compassionatly changed it to November ..that to me is exceptionally good service. Me and my best friend arrived and was blown away the room, it was very spacious (booked a standard room) beatuifully decorated warm and welcoming. Facilities : iron and board ..hair dryer ...safe deposit box ...bathroom robes and slippers toiletries, sow kit, hair cap ect, power shower ..mirror that filled the whole bathroom wall, fantastic for getting ready. Large corner sofa so comfy!! Large tele with selection of dvds, corporate looking desk and chair which we found quite amusing, plenty of tea and coffee and electric tea jug, bed huge and comfy. Food : firstly, the young lad, waiter was fantastic and knowledgeable of the menu, being women we were of course undecided, we recieved our drinks free of charge as he made one error on the bill (put bill on room..we were paying in cash right then) we ordered pulled pork and asked for more of the chips and recieved more free. Reception: friendly and attentive and knowledgeable. Breakfast: continental and hot plates help your self full english ..tea and coffee juices ...jams and honey on table which is a nice touch Overall would recommend and return in a heartbeat.

Our party of 6 attend the gala buffet event every New Year's eve. This event is a nice way to celebrate the New Year and I would recommend the evening. However, minor changes from previous years made the event slightly less enjoyable. Room: The standard room we have had on previous years was requested and given to us. The other room booked for our party was a executive room. Both rooms were at opposite ends of the hotel and we were not shown to our room by staff. The executive room was smaller than the standard room but contained a bath. In my opinion, upgrading is not worth the money. The gala buffet: Food - the starter was melon and sorbet. This was very nice although a little strange to be having sorbet in the middle of winter. The main was a selection of beef stroganoff, cold meats, rice, new potatoes, salad, cold meats and lost of fish. In previous years, there was less fish and the addition of pasta. To improve for next year, the pasta should be brought back there could be chips, mini burgers and pies and less fish and crab. The desert was a rich chocolate cake, a custard caramel and a lemon meringue. Overall the food was nice but the amount of fish let the meal down. Staff - throughout the evening the waiters were constantly asking if we were done with out glasses even though we had not drank our drinks. I appreciate they want to tidy up quickly to go home as soon as possible but it made us feel unwelcome. Music- the songs played were a good mix of older and newer ones. When no one was dancing, the DJ could have changed the song to a more popular one. Breakfast: Selection of cooked foods and continental. There food was nice and we could help ourselves. The younger staff dressed in black serving us were very friendly and helpful. We will be back next year but would like to see the main meal selection improved and will be booking 2 standard rooms.

As a wedding photographer I visit a lot of hotels. This is a great place for your wedding reception. A fantastic room and your own bar. The outside is also beautifully landscaped and offers lots of fantastic photo opportunities. The staff went the extra mile to ensure everything was done to the couples requirements.

Had a two night stay here in December as we were attending a charity event nearby. The hotel was easy to find, and has a large carpark. Checking in was straight forward, and the member of staff at reception was both courteous and efficient. We found our room to be spacious, and the bed comfortable. There were all the normal extras that you would expect in the room, such as complimentary toiletries, bath robes, and tea making facilities. The only meal we had in the hotel was breakfast, which we thought was good. You have all the normal hot and cold breakfast choices served buffet style. The staff in the hotel were always pleasant and efficient, and we're most helpful at all times. If in the area in the future , we would definitely use this hotel again.

£40 for Christmas party. No effort was used at All. No decorations up at all. No sign of Christmas in the room. Ordered the fish main. If it was any smaller they would have had to put it back. Food mediocre at best. All courses were pre ordered and names against order on the table. One of the party didn't get a starter!!!. Told they had run out. No wine on the table which I would expect as standard at that price. Disco was distinctly average. So £40 for an mediocre meal and average disco. Won't be going there again

Firstly I'm writing this review so hopefully they can improve on the festive afternoon tea next year!!! We arrived and found the room that the event was being held in... no one explained that it was set up like a wedding ... big tables of 12 and so sat with people who we didn't know... there were 6 of us so we formed a semi circle on a big table and so found it impossible to chat to all members of my family... Then the waitresses brought the afternoon tea... placing all the sandwiches on one side of the table and cakes on the other... therefore creating a uneasy atmosphere of not knowing how much we could eat as other people shared the table & food... After eating a festive afternoon tea at another best western hotel I can honestly say this tea was rubbish... only 2 tiny salmon sandwich's on the plates... supposed to feed 12 people... the rest of the sandwiches being cheese & pickle, egg, ham or turkey! Nothing exciting!! Also the cakes were poor.. tray bakes of brownies & dry fruit cake.. I did enjoy the little scone tho! I would of expected at least a mince pie, or chocolate log as it was suppose to be festive!!! In addition the waitresses served the tea & coffee.. cup by cup... some people waiting ages to get a cup of tea as the pots held about 2 cups.. useless..! Why not put tea pots on the table??? So unfortunately overall it was not worth the £20 each for the food... the only positive was the fabulous brass band - nice selection of carols .. Think I will stick to the other best western hotel - Aston Hall who do a lovely festive afternoon tea!!

Great sized room with comfortable bed, fast free wifi and plenty of space. Shower was powerful and bathroom cleanliness was excellent. The selection of complimentary hot drinks and small snacks in the room was a bonus. Breakfast selection was very good, as was the evening food offering. The quality of the evening meal was very good, however it was expected for the price paid. Overall an enjoyable and restful stay.

We had pre booked for a girly Christmas lunch and ordered off the festive set menu. There were several choices and the vegetarian main course was lovely, but the vegetables were over cooked and far too soft for my liking. The staff were friendly and attentive but there wasn't much atmosphere as it wasn't very busy and the background Christmas music was extremely quiet, but they did provide Christmas crackers so we wore our paper hats to make it more festive! Overall, we all enjoyed it and thought the food was very good.

Just an overnight stay on 5th December but very impressed by the room & its facilities. Hotel decor was of a high standard and welcoming. Staff helpful & pleasant, food very enjoyable. No hesitation in staying again should the need arise.

The stay could not have been better, excellent service over all and we will definitely be returning. The spa suite was pure luxury, jumping from the steamy sauna to the copper bath full of bubbles (toiletries provided) then the double shower to rinse off the bubbles. The corner suite provided a soft and relaxing place to chill out and watch the television before heading downstairs to the bar and restaurant for a delicious meal and cocktails. The décor was set up ready for Christmas and had an amazing homely feel. We were able to take drinks back up to the room where we could relax again in the bubble bath and just enjoy the freedom of peace and quiet, the whole purpose of our escape.

Stayed overnight here while attending a charity dinner just down the road. The room was very well appointed, spotless, spacious and quiet but was spoiled by the very dim (non-adjustable) lighting which made things very difficult for the visually challenged. Breakfast was poor and not what we ordered (chose room service).

Christmas lights welcomed us in on a cold and snowy night. Welcoming staff were friendly and professional. Our room was classy and spacious and clean and warm. We drank bubbles in a lovely bar and that morphed into a pleasant meal and helped us to relax. Breakfast in the lovely restaurant overlooking a pretty garden was made more enjoyable by the very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay very much ... Thank you.

It was a huge relief to see the hotel, brilliantly lit for Christmas, and to enter such a warm and welcoming place. The staff, the food, the room and the cosy atmosphere were just what a pair of weary travelers needed most. Thanks guys!

A table for two was pre booked in the Darren restaurant for 1.00pm. Just walked into restaurant no greeting as lack of staff , took ages to be seated , then got moved as apparently they put us on wrong table. Took nearly an hour for food to arrive after order , waiter forgot to bring drinks we ordered. Overall pretty dreadful today and restaurant service suffered due to walk in customers in the bar or that was the excuse we were given. Totally understaffed and underdelivered today for a venue which is usually pretty good.

Took my friend for afternoon tea as a birthday treat.....staff were lovely...we took ages to order, lovely fresh table linen, fresh produce, tasty and plentiful......had a lovely afternoon, service good, we were not rushed even though it was busy, we will be back, prices reasonable, no complaints here, we are local and will recommend to friends

This is a lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens where you can relax for as long as you like. There are so many rooms to explore with small rooms dotted everywhere where you can sit and relax or read or chat whatever takes your fancy and there are plenty of them. The bar is well stocked although a bit pricey but I suppose you must expect that from a hotel like this. The rooms are very spacious and well laid out, the bathroom being very modern and the shower is big enough for two, if you fancy. With a settee to sit while the rugby is on the tv what more do you want. The bed is massive big enough even if you are arguing to keep out of each others' way and comfortable that does not even start to describe it. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with plenty of courteous staff running around, looking after you as if you were Kings and Queens. We both decided to have the same thing for dinner which could only be described as a rather large lump of Beef Braised, slow cooked for four hours with Dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The meat did not need to be cut it just fell off and was absolutely sumptuous, just melting in the mouth, leaving you totally satisfied. For the moment we were full so we asked if we could have the cheese board and coffee a little later in one of the sitting rooms and of course it was no problem at all. A very good nights' sleep was enchanted by breakfast with a buffet style, help yourself, but this way of course you can eat as much or as little as you like and again the food was cooked to perfection. We had heard the night before that there was a Christmas Fayre to be held in the plethora of rooms on the Sunday so after checking out this is where we spent the next two hours thoroughly enjoying our unexpected treat. The room at £117 for a Saturday night and the total bill coming to £203.85 including food and drinks made a complete end to my birthday and completely satisfied our weekend away with much pleasure.

We met early on the Sunday morning, group of ten, to celebrate are early Christmas meet up. We were shown into one of the lounges, where we had pre drinks and coffee. There was some Christmas stalls, which we had a look around before we went into lunch. Once again it was the same table has last year, service was excellent, as was the meal. Wished there had been a prawn cocktail, for starters. Wasn't in pressed with the potato and butternut squash soup, but the main course made up for it, the lamb was delicious. Once again a perfect day, Thank You.

Once again we celebrated our anniversary in the laconium suite and can only repeat that it was a perfect evening in perfect surroundings. Not cheap by any standard but more than happy at the reward for the price.

Once again not let down by Mount Pleasant accommodation. Didn't have an evening meal this time but staff amazing as usual and room immaculate. We will undoubtedly return to this hotel again before Christmas.

Booked a table for 10 people. Arrived early & we were shown into a lovely sitting room just for our party to select food & have pre dinner drinks. Every course was excellent. Plenty of choice on the menu for all tastes. We had our wedding reception there 30 years ago & whilst the hotel has significantly grown it still retains some charming touches.

My husband and I visited the Mount Pleasant on Monday 13th November. This was a rare night away from the children to celebrate my husbands birthday (in September but couldn't get away at that time) We have visited the Mount Pleasant numerous times over the last 15 years in fact we got married here and had both of our children's christening lunches here. We love coming back and spending time here. On this occasion however we felt a little let down overall. On arrival I went to reception to check in, it was 5 minutes to 3 and when I requested to check in the receptionist looked at her watch,the lady stood next to her must've seen the look on my face (not impressed) and tried to make light of it by saying "gosh is that the time already!) I was then told by the same lady to move to the other receptionist who would check me in. I have to say whilst I appreciate that the hotel does have a 3pm check in this appeared a little petty and unprofessional. The process of check in after that was pretty smooth and we went to our room. My husband however was not happy because we had been allocated room 291 and when he called to book he had booked our favourite room the Princess and the Pea suite. He did not say anything to me and went to query it at reception, and to be fair they did offer to reallocate us however I had already unpacked by the time he'd queried it and so opted to stay in room 291 which is a lovely room with a huge bed and a sofa with a large TV and the bathroom is very well appointed with a separate walk in shower and a large bath and twin sinks. I do find the toiletries to be quite basic and considering they have a Elemis spa I would expect the toiletries to be Elemis. The Tea tray was also pretty sparse with no biscuits provided and only 2 sachets of coffee (I don't think this had been replenished) We visited the bar and the service was good and the Gin menu is pretty extensive which was appreciated. We ate in the restaurant, which had 2/3 other parties of diners so not busy at all considering the size of the hotel. The restaurant was cold and it felt very draughty. We both ordered the scallops, when they arrived (2 scallops) perfectly acceptable but not very big for the price. It also had a couple of pieces of inedible and unidentifiable crackling to the point I asked the waiter what it actually was and he had to ask the chef ! It was not nice and I am embarrassed to say I had to spit it out because I couldn't chew it ! My husband ordered fillet steak and I ordered fish and chips which we both throughly enjoyed. The service was ok but we had no personal interaction with the waiter and it felt a little automated. We left the restaurant shortly after our mains only to find the waiter chasing us to our room telling us we hadn't paid. In all the times we have stayed at the Mount Pleasant this had never happened to us. I called reception when I returned to the room to explain what had happened and they said they would sort it out. I am not sure why the waiter did this it's not as if we could check out without paying and it was very embarrassing. I do think the hotel would benefit from a more updated menu with a better selection, I also think a bar menu would be very successful we were told we could only choose from the restaurant menu and eat that in the bar. We slept very well and the room temperature was good. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and offers a good selection again I think the menu would benefit from a bit of a revamp. The coffee was far to strong and I really can't understand when you order a breakfast you have to make your own toast how do you know when to put the toast on so it won't be cold ? The toast should come out with breakfast and a better selection of breads should be offered rather than white or wholmeal. We both had poached eggs bacon, beans and grilled tomato all cooked very well and lovely and hot (apart from the toast !) I think maybe poached egg thick cut toast or soda bread with advocado would be a great addition to the menu. The service at breakfast was exceptional and the two ladies where very attentive. Over the years we have visited the hotel we have always come away feeling spoilt and happy however this time the hotel failed to hit the mark and I was disappointed which makes me feel very unhappy. We would never leave a hotel without checking out and to have a waiter chase you down the corridor is not great and that's the memory I am left with so not great this time I'm afraid. I would always recommend this hotel to family and friends and indeed over the years and only recently in October friends of ours married here on our recommendation. I am hoping that these little points are just one off incidents and that this happen due to the waiters inexperience. I would point out that the Mount Pleasant to most people visiting is a little extravagance and if standards arnt met then customers will vote with their feet please don't get complacent.

I booked this place to deliver training I stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast. My “basic” double room was larger than my flat, king sized bed huge bathroom etc. The lady on the desk (Nikki I believe) was amazing and so accommodating making everything run smooth. Food was amazing , fresh food good service. The chef here would make Gordon Ramsay proud everything had a personal touch and the pastry chef also makes bespoke chocolates which we bought a box of to take away. Only one issue with this place and that's the check out time is at 10 apposed to 12 which was no problem this time but if you want a long lay in that could be a problem but that doesn't matter really, reasonable prices and again the service was very very good .

We attended a wedding held at the hotel staying a couple of nights and spending most of our time in the hotel. Although not busy on the Friday, the hotel was full on the Saturday although isn't seem over busy or under pressure like some places can get. I have to say I found the place to be a little quirky in layout reflecting it's old life as a farmhouse and farm buildings as shown by some of the old plans on the wall. It does have a really nice lounge area just to the right of reception. In brief, the food was good. We ate on Friday night, a “snack” at lunchtime on the Saturday together with the breakfasts of course. We stuck to more simple fare so I can't advise on some of the dishes. What we had was good quality and service was quick and efficient. Talking about service, the chap who was doing the breakfasts on both days was a credit to the place. Helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I like the interaction, bringing a personal touch. Our room was comfortable and not overheated like some can get especially at this time of the year. One point, if you're staying and there's a party on, check where your room is. We retired at midnight and a party was still going (not the wedding we attended) and was pretty loud straight underneath us. It did stop not long after but could be an issue. Overall, I will be looking to stay again if in the area. Service is often the key in the hotel game. The sense we got was that everyone working there could not do enough for you. That goes a long way.

Family meal for 12 could not fault the service or the food timings impeccable no wait very well done mount pleasant the cheese board was out standing a proper choice with outstanding Yorkshire cheeses

We were here for a special large family celebration. We ordered a pizza from the kids menu. We couldn't believe how poor it was. A slice of Frozen pizza burnt. In other circumstances I would've complained but it was a special family occasion and our 2yr old ate some of the ‘mini' pizza. I Wouldn't describe a slice of pizza as a mini pizza.

Beautiful executive suite, fantastic breakfast. the staff here are really helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The bar is well stocked, especially with gin. Have tried both the restaurant and the bar snacks/meals cannot be faulted. Going again in mid-December.

We were in Doncaster for a party and decided to stay at the Mount Pleasant. On arrival we were impressed with the reception with sofas in the seating area comfortable and interesting. I had booked a junior suite to make the weekend a little special. The room was cold on entering, it has three windows which makes it light but also very open to the outside as it is on the ground floor. The room is very large as you would expect with couch and coffee table, unfortunately even whilst sitting on the couch the TV is small so relaxing in bed and watching is not easy. To be fair to the hotel they did react to our complaint that only one radiator was working and bring an electric heater. The four poster bed looked good but was let down by being able to see the dark grey/black mattress base, sloppy and sad to see. Breakfast is buffet style and we had the cooked option, not a good choice, all tasted of fat /oil that had been used too often, very disappointing. On a positive note the bathroom looks very good with shower and jacuzzi bath, pity it was let down by the slimy mould in the shower door (only in part that joined together) This is not something I do very often but its sad too see a room that could be very good let down, I wonder if its due for an upgrade.

After a 7 hour drive from Hampshire we stayed here on our way up to County Durham. We wished we'd booked it for the following night too on our way back! We had 2 complaints - 1) coffee at breakfast was too weak and 2) the garden restaurant was a little noisy due to the layout. But these were minor, as the cocktails were delicious, as was the food and the staff extremely attentive and helpful. We loved the room, the walk in shower was perfect, easy to control, good power and the right temperature. We definitely want to come back.

The Doncaster Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel is an extremely nice place to stay. Comfy beds, nice staff and good food. The room was spacious, the food was excellent and the staff really wanted to help. .

Myself, my husband and two boys aged 6 and 2, visited the Mount Pleasant yesterday for one evening as part of a trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We didn't arrive until 7pm so check in was quick and easy and the lady on reception, Leah I think, was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We stayed in a family room which was gorgeous! There was a double bathroom with two showers, two sinks, two sets of toiletries and a toilet.

Spent one Saturday night here while catching up with family. Our standard room was very large and exceeded our expectations. Lovely to have a comfy sofa to watch TV rather than just sitting on the bed. Superb bathroom although sink plug hole appeared blocked, reported this to reception on checkout who dealt with my comment very professionally. Restaurant, would like to give a special mention to Oliver who was very attentive throughout our meal and sorted extra potatoes and recommended a most lovely after dinner drink, Havana Rum and Ting! Well done Oliver you are a great assest to the hotel. Food at dinner was very good, although buffet breakfast could have been a hotter temperature. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again

Had a great night out here. The 3 course meal was fantastic, there were over a hundred people & to serve food of that quality was excellent. The tribute band were good & a disco followed afterwards. A great night was had by all. Would go again.

I had the pleasure of staying at the mount pleasant Doncaster for 7 weeks during my resettlement from the Army, I was well looked after, the rooms are spacious and well equipped, the food is fantastic and the staff are really friendly, a special mention to Bryan, Dawn and Katherine who couldn't of been more helpful and looked after me at breakfast everyday. Thank you

We visited for Sunday Lunch in the garden room and had the set menu, it provides a good choice. Food: we decided to have the home made soup which was tomato and red pepper, lovely others in the group had Greek salad and again was very nice and also had plenty of olives. 3 of us had the beef which was carved at the table and was cooked beautifully, 1 person had the pork and had 2 large thick pieces of pork, along with a selection of 4 veg and roast potatoes, all very nice. For desert 2 had sticky toffee pudding, 1 had treacle tart and the other had the cheese board, once again all very nice. Service: Absolutely impeccable from start to finish, we finished with coffee in one of the small sitting rooms just outside the restaurant and the staff even went to check if one was free for us, all in all excellent service without being intrusive. Ambiance: The bar area was very quiet but had nice large tables to sit at all very relaxed, the restaurant is also very nice to sit and over look the gardens it was well lit and the tables were a good space between so you didn't feel too close, what we really enjoyed was going in one of the small private sitting rooms just outside the restaurant to have our coffee, very nice touch and quite unique. All in all a lovely experience and I'm sure we will return, thank you.

We visited the restaurant to celebrate a family birthday and it lived up to its reputation in every way. The food was delicious every meal was spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Good atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it.

This is my third stay at the Best Western Mount Pleasant in Doncaster, UK. It is one of the most well kept, quaint hotels I've stayed in. It is always immaculately clean with new contemporary furnishings. Chrome, mirrors, fixtures and porcelain are always polished. Food is good in the restaurant (excellent fish & chips). Excellent value for the stay. Very friendly staff.

Well what a beautiful place went to a friend's wedding reception and stayed the night, beautiful rooms excellent customer service staff very pleasant even when they were quite a few checking in. The buffet at night was very good, breakfast was vast and loads to choose from would recommend this venue to family and friends, would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a wedding at the venue & we were very impressed with the room. Very spacious & impressed with the bathroom etc. The staff through out our stay were excellent & friendly. If the bedrooms are anything to go by & I'm sure the rest of the facilities are excellent as well. Looking forward to stop here again in the future.

Have stayed at Mount Pleasent many times so booked a night when attending a wedding at Rossington Hall. As always the room was excellent staff lovely. So sorry to say we had the breakfast from the buffet which was so not up to stranded very poor and cold.

Booked a last minute stay to break a long journey south. Check in was very quick and efficient. The room we were allocated (215) was on the front of the hotel overlooking the road, but the excellent double glazing keep out almost all traffic noise. The room was spotlessly clean and large by normal standard room sizes that my wife and I have encountered. It ever had a small sofa at the end of the bed to make watching the large TV easy to watch. After a very nice drink in the bar we went for dinner. I must say that we had one of the best meals ever in a hotel. The whole experience from starter main and dessert was superb, far better that meals we have had in two Michelin starred restaurants. On other point to make is that EVERY member of staff that we encountered were wonderful, cheerful and pleasant. We will certainly be visiting again if the opportunity arises. Our thanks to all concerned for a wonderful break in a long journey.

We decided to treat ourselves and stayed in the Laconium Suite. It was absolutely amazing, gorgeous bedroom with sofas and huge bed. The bathroom is the best part of the room with its own sauna, steam room and jacuzzi bath big enough for 2 to chill and watch tv with a glass of prosecco. Will definitely return and try the other signature suite.

The restaurant at the Mount Pleasant hotel is certainly a very agreeable place for dinner. The service is very good and the food excellent, The menu is rather conservative although the desserts are exceptional. Dining at the Mount Pleasant is not cheap and with higher prices come higher expectations. On that basis, the restaurant is not quite 5 star - but it must be fairly close

I stayed at this hotel at the end of September and my experience was first class. Congratulations to the owners, management and staff for delivering first class customer service in an excellent facility.

Superb individual rooms. Family rooms are enormous. Lounge, bar, cafe and restaurant are luxurious and relaxing. Staff are professional but not stuffy. Grounds offer plenty of seating and walks. Drinks are expensive.

We have visited The Mountpleasant many times but this particular occasion was a special family birthday and there was a party of 16 of us for Sunday lunch.... it was a birthday to remember. The dining areas are very elegant and comfortable, the food was delivered on time, piping hot and of the highest quality. Kids were catered for expertly too.....in fact I can say that I have never had a problem or a bad meal yet at this fine establishment..... Brian and the team were first class and the coffee and mints in the private lounges are a special end to the meal.

The afternoon tea was beautiful, the sandwiches were on proper bread with a substantial amount of feelings. The cakes were light and you could tell freshly made and the scones where excellent. Can't fault it. Would definitely recommend.

I am lucky enough to stay at this fabulous hotel most weeks and can honestly say I know of none better - and I travel a lot. Excellent rooms with some truly exceptional, lovely setting, great food ... but the real difference is the truly excellent staff - every single one in every single role. This hotel truly deserves the highest rating.

Recently stayed overnight to celebrate our wedding anniversary & what a time we had. Booked in easily & quickly. Then to the room which was awesome. It was huge & so clean & oh so comfortable. We received complementary Champagne & chocolates too. We had reserved a table so wondered down to dine. We were given our drinks & then shown to our table. Our waitress Isabella was brilliant, so polite & helpful. The courses came & went & each so amazing I just wanted to keep eating even if the stomach wouldn't let me lol Ollie came by to offer fresh drinks. He remembered us from June when we brought our daughter. He was a true star offering us a complementary drink & more chocolates. He was great. MP Will miss him when he moves on next summer. We retired to our room & the massive bed & died in such comfort. Next morning we went down to breakfast & it has got to be the finest breakfast since stopping in the Riu Plaza Berlin. It was simply fantastic. Proper hats off to the breakfast chef. All in all a simply fantastic stunning wonderful awesome stay. Thank you to everyone at the MP hotel. Can't wait for next time

Organised my friends hen party afternoon tea here and the food was superb both day and night! Very tasty and plentiful and also a lovely nights stay in a beautiful room at a beautiful venue. Would definitely recommend a visit here!

Where to even begin!? We booked this venue is was gorgeous and perfect for our needs in terms of hotel rooms, outdoor wedding space etc. The venue is gorgeous and I cant fault it. It's the staff!!! We never saw the same person twice, we were told different things by different people and ended up in a dispute about the price of the wedding after paying the deposit. Basically after agreeing we would not be buying alcohol they then decided this conversation did not happen and we had to buy drinks packages, this on top of increased food prices added 3k onto the price of our already 10k venue. We were spoken to like children and made to feel like we were more of an inconvenience. We were told we could have our own DJ, then we had to have theirs. We could get married outside, but not if they decide not on the day. We didn't need to buy alcohol, then we did. In our early 20's I am 100% confident that we were treat this way due to our age. The only friendly member of staff we spoke to left. The manager told us she left 'for a good reason' and refused to accept the agreement we had with this staff member when she was representing them. I asked to meet the wedding co-ordinators boss, when we met her and discussed she slipped up that the wedding co-ordinator was her boss! He had arranged us a meeting with someone he was senior to for us to raise our concerns about him! We were left with 11months before the wedding when we asked to meet a manager to discuss. Before we even met he said we could have our money back. It became clear that they wanted rid of us. Suits were hired, invites sent, stationary made. All of which with the venue and date on. If you're dead set on this venue do it all over e-mails. Write down every single detail. We switched to Aston Hall and could not be happier.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Mount Pleasant hotel last Friday and it was a wonderful celebration. David and Anna couldn't have done a better job in helping us to plan our big day and supporting us and our guests. The food at the wedding breakfast was delicious and our rooms were luxurious. Highly recommended!

My husband and around 20 other men booked into this hotel for their annual fishing trip which this year happened to be in Doncaster. I tagged along with them to visit family in the area. I'm from Sussex. 20 blokes on a fishing trip aren't the standard clientele for this hotel, during our 4 day stay there were 2 weddings and at least two formal big birthday celebrations. However we could not have been made to feel more welcome, we were not out of place at all. I visited the spa with my cousin where we both had the very reasonable priced 'Trio of Treats' Maxine and Libby the spa staff were excellent, really chatty and friendly and made us feel very relaxed, comfortable and of course pampered! The rooms were incredible! Huge and comfortable as well as very well equipped with everything we needed. Despite the weddings we were never disturbed by late night noise, movement in hallways or anything suggesting anyone else was even in the hotel! The best thing by far about this hotel was the staff. From the front of house to the bar to the restaurant and the spa they are without exception an absolute credit to Best Western, Mount Pleasant and Doncaster! I'm an events manager for a charity and i've been a bridesmaid 3 times this year so I've seen plenty of 'fancy' hotels recently- this service by far exceeds all others i've been to! My husband is in a wheelchair and we found the whole hotel to be accessible and perfect for his needs. Its unheard of for me to have nothing negative to say but i am truly struggling to think of anything! Try it yourself...you won't be disappointed!

I was given the birthday treat of a lifetime by being booked into the Caldaria spa suite. Private sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all matched with suspended bed. Dinner was superb and the staff friendly.

This hotel is amazing from the grounds to the staff and the food. The spa rooms are out this world and me and my wife got married here which was made perfect by the hotel and the staff. I recommend the hotel and spa rooms enough just perfect.

I held my 60th Party in the orangry room which held 80 guests and stayed in the Passadi Spa Room. From the moment we arrived, all the staff were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble, the made sure my party went very smoothly and made sure all our requests were met. In Jan 2017 I criticised the Mount Pleasant following a mediocre dinner one evening in late Dec 2016. We were contacted and asked if the Mount pleasant could be given another chance. Since the first visit had been a recce, we agreed, but with misgivings. In the event, our dinner party on 2 Sep 17 for a party of 14 was exceptionally good, as was the spacious accommodation and breakfast next morning. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for catering, accommodation and faultless service.

I stayed here at the weekend as part of a group of 14 celebrating my parents anniversary. We all had fantastic rooms, all age groups were very impressed! We dined in the Henry private dining room which was perfect for this event. The food and service was amazing. Breakfast the following morning was also very good. Highly recommended!!!!

Booked a spontaneous night here for a treat and wasn't disappointed, booked a standard double room and can honestly say it's the best standard room I have ever stayed in anywhere! The room was large, apart from the bed there was a sofa, table and desk with still plenty of room. It had a large double wardrobe with an iron & board, bath robes and slippers to use whilst there, safe and a fan. Complimentary water, tea coffee and biscuits were available. The TV had plenty of channels to choose from. The bathroom was also very big, bath and a large separate shower, with a selection of toiletries. We ate in the bar, had to wait quite a while for the food but it was beautiful and worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel and amenities.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We booked a deluxe room which was huge and very well presented, and great value. The staff were attentive and the food was excellent even if the restaurant and breakfast area are a little uncharismatic. Varied and imaginative menu.

My niece had booked the mount pleasant for her wedding so it made sense to book in for an overnight stay. The venue is excellent for a wedding. The ceremony was held in a little courtyard, luckily the weather was lovely, however , a back up plan had been put in place. After the ceremony we checked in and decided to go straight to our room. The double rooms are huge. Massive bed, sofa, large writing desk and wardrobes. The bathroom was also large with a bath at one end and a shower at the other. Breakfast was lovely, self service. The only down side was we couldn't understand why the hot items were all on the edge of the corridor where you walked into breakfast, could see a few problems with people queuing to go to breakfast and people wanting to get there breakfast. All in all a lovely stay for a special occasion.

Stayed here overnight last weekend. Booked a triple room for myself, daughter and cousin as part of a large group booking for my friends 50th birthday. We ate lunch in a private room, about 25 of us. We had pre selected our food ahead of time. The quality of food exceeded my expectations. The salmon on a bed of crushed new potatoes with crime fraiche sauce was divine. Plates were pipping hot, and vegetable undercooked to perfection. The Exton mess was probably the best constructed Exton mess I've ever had. Light and tasty. Everyone around the table enjoyed themselves. Our bedroom was huge!! Could have fitted half a dozen of us in there easily. Very well appointed bathroom too. 11 of us ate breakfast together the next morning - again in a private room. Buffet style but the experience of our own breakfast room, with 11 of us around one table made me feel like I was in Downton Abbey! Thank you, a lovely experience and happy memories to treasure.

We were on a driving holiday and needed a stop around here. The reviews were fine and Best Westerns tend to be reliable so we stayed here. We weren't disappointed. The staff throughout the hotel were very good. We had dinner and breakfast there and they do put in quite some effort and we appreciated the good service and food. The room was huge - without seeing to have a purpose to its size other than to be big. If you were there for a while it might be good but for overnight it isn't extra value. To be fair though the accommodation prices are good value for what the hotel gives in all areas so you're not paying extra for unused space.

Booked here last minute ,was given a spa room , it was fabulous , bedroom was comfortable and pleasant , the bathroom was amazing , Japanese bath , sauna , heated spa seats . Made the trip really enjoyable , would definitely return .

4th time staying here always enjoy it . We normally stay here whilst visiting the races so do not normally eat in the restaurant, however we did on this occasion and it was superb. All staff lovely and friendly as always and different room each time . They're all massive and have a different feel, clean as well. Over all I'd definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Doncaster. We will certainly be staying here next time

My sister in law got married here in June. The venue is lovely. Pretty grounds however this was all spoilt by the extremely rude staff. I arrived early to get ready with the bridal party. The wedding wasn't until 3 so I got ready in the bridal suite. At quarter 3 my husband arrived and asked to check in. The response from the rude receptionist was the room wasn't ready! Bearing in mind we were with the wedding and it was my husbands sister getting married there was no offer of storing the luggage or suggesting what we could do. After the ceremony we went to check in and we're given our keys, there again was no offer to help move our luggage so we had to leave the wedding to move luggage and check in!!! Food was lovely for the wedding breakfast, but disgusting at the night reception. It was meant to be the BBQ menu, nothing was barbecued! The kebabs tasted like the chicken had been boiled! Burgers were skinny cheap burgers. Actually quite disgusting! The rudeness of the staff continued when we asked if all our drinks could be put on one room! The father of the bride, my father in law had offered to pay for mine and my husbands drinks so told us to charge them to his room. Well this was very stressful and my husband and his dad ending up losing their temper with staff at how difficult this proved! Bar staff were rude to my husband and wouldn't accept the room charge as it wasn't his room. We called for a manager to sort this 3 times! How difficult is it to charge drinks to one bill???? My husband and father in law spent more time sorting this than enjoying the wedding!!!! You would think after a wedding had been booked staff would bend over backwards would ensure that the father of the bride, who was paying, was treated with respect and helped where needed. I suggest more training for the staff with people skills and how to speak to customers is improved.

We stayed here with friends and really enjoyed it. Staff were pleasant, the rooms were huge and spotless. We reported a faulty extractor fan before we left for the racecourse and it was sorted by the time we got back. The breakfast was good and the surroundings lovely. Will definitely return.

We like to try different places for Sunday lunch and thought we would try Mount Pleasant. So glad we did . The service was excellent, the food absolutely gorgeous and the cost very reasonable. £22 for a three course lunch. The roast beef was to die for. Really enjoyed it

We would like to thank David and all the staff for the fantastic wedding day of our daughter . The day was perfect thanks to their hard work. Mount Pleasant Hotel is a beautiful venue the gardens are spectacular ( the photos are amazing). The food was wonderful and the bedrooms large, clean and comfortable. We attended a lovely wedding at the Mount Pleasant and had a very good night's stay in the hotel. The room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and quiet. The venue for a wedding is absolutely perfect. However, we were very disappointed that we could not check into our room before the wedding as check in is a rediculously late 3pm. We were told we could, for a £20 surcharge, check in at 1pm but, as the wedding was at 1pm , we would still not have been able to change our clothes in time. I do appreciate that the rooms have to be cleaned but when the rooms are booked as part of the wedding package the staff should realise what time guests need to be in their rooms in order to get ready for the event. I hasten to add that it was a truly memorable stay and we would definitely return.

Lovely hotel,stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding which was amazing. The food was fantastic and loved that coffee was served in a snug type room. I was a little disappointed that my family were split up e.g. Husband and child in one room and myself and child in an other but rooms were lovely and spacious

Visited for Sunday lunch and had a lovely meal, the food was excellent, all three courses tasted delicious also very well presented. All staff were very helpful and caring. Surroundings are great, lovely little rooms for coffee afterwards. Would highly recommend for Sunday lunch, great value. Will be visiting again in the near future.

For the price this is one of the best hotels I have been to in recent times. The room was large and comfortable, shower excellent, comfortable sofa and bed, good tea making facilities, iron, room safe and so on. The restaurant was fine, car park had plenty of room, and there was really nothing that fell below par. Even though there was a wedding party going on, the noise did not intrude into other parts of the hotel. I was here on business and will definitely return.

We stayed here for one night Halloween last year. Cool welcome lovely big room but very dusty(could write name in dust on sofa arm. The murder mystery evening was of secondary school standard and father cringy. Good breakfast next morning and comfortable sleep but room very warm so we left windows open a couple in next room had climbed through window to have a cigarette and the smell of their smoke drifted through window. My husband and I are non smokers, a few days after I noticed £100 had been deducted from my bank account two days after a letter from hotel saying housekeeper said we had been smoking in our room and they had fined us £100 without my consent. I phoned the manager and explained we don't smoke but agreed the room did smell of smoke when returned from breakfast due to couple outside smoking. He was unfriendly and was having none of it. I felt robbed and very upset,would NEVER stay here again and advise others BEWARE!!

We had our wedding reception here on 22nd July 2017. We hired Henry's room as it was an intimate family reception for ten people. The staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful. Whatever we asked for was no trouble at all. The table looked amazing, the food was excellent and drinks were brought to us at regular intervals. The grounds were perfect for the photographs. We stayed the night in a standard room, which was large and clean. Altogether a most memorable and enjoyable experience.

We were looking for some really special to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, and we decided to go and have a look at Mount Pleasant, we were not disappointed. Clair the Events Sales manager look after our every need. We had a wonderful day, the Food, Service, and all the Staff that we came into contact with were excellent, and to top it off, the Sun shone too. A big thank you to all the Staff that were involved . A Beautiful Hotel thank you....

Stayed for nieces wedding had the best time ever and can only say every thing was spot on from the quality rooms to the staff and service who were lovely a super breakfast and fully refreshed after the festivities. the hotel is large and well maintained. we live only a couple of miles away so jump at chance to stay here Well also let me say we were part of a wedding group who stayed, and my grandchildren are well behaved and no family member were in ill fitting suits, and this was comment on previous reviewer, who should review hotel not guests so grow up! Mr Nice Guy

We stayed here over night with some family, the staff were really polite and friendly, the food was also lovely I enjoyed my stay here overall just a few minor things to why I haven't given 5 stars. Firstly the rooms were freezing,I woke up in the middle of the night and my little girl was so cold, me and my partner both thought the room was cold and our other family staying in other rooms were also cold. Secondly we requested a bath in our room so I could bath my little girl but didn't have one we had to bath her in our family members room. Lastly the high chair that was provided to us at breakfast was not suitable for a 6 month old child. All in all apart from them 3 things we had a wonderful stay here.

I will begin by saying that the floor staff were excellent, together with the food. Nice setting with grounds to explore. I found that the rooms were uncomfortably warm and air conditioning would have been welcome. There was AC in the lounge but was not turned on. This would appear to be an hotel that is catering for the wedding and corporate business at the expense of couples. There were weddings on both of of days we there that brought with them the usual entourage kids, men in ill-fitting suits and ladies who were louder than their outfits. Not a haven of peace and quiet we expected and we had to move on more than one occasion to be able to relax in a tranquil environment. I guess this is where they make their money. We paid a bit extra for an executive king bedroom. Quality fittings and roomy. Apart from the heat, no complaints. I was ill after being given the last pull of a keg beer (Black Sheep). This has been discussed with the General Manager and customer services so there is nothing more to add here. Would I return? No.

This is a late review, have been a bit busy. We had an overnight stay in mid June, on route to Tyne and Wear. Hotel is very pleasant, we specified a particular type of room. We got a room that was almost exactly what we specified. Sadly many hotels do not fully cater for the disabled, the Mount Pleasant is not so different. The room was comfortable and well appointed for someone with limited mobility. A proper wet room en suite, but the floor turned very slippery once the shower was on. Fortunately we have learnt to bring our own non slip mat. What spoilt it was that the room was at the furthest point of the building from the restaurant, a long way for someone with limited mobility. Food was to a high standard and served hot, on hot plates. Cooked breakfast was to order, so much better than the buffet style adopted by so many hotels these days. Overall for a fully mobile person this would be a very good hotel. Needs some improving for the disabled tho.

What a fantastic hotel this is. Stopped there overnight as I was in the area for a works course. Arrived Sunday evening and checked in straight away. The bedroom I had was brilliant. Nice and spacious with a massive shower room. Bed was comfy, couch was comfy, shower was brilliant. To be fair the bathroom was huge. A really lovely hotel to stop in for one night. Deffo worth a visit.

We went to Mount Pleasant for a Sunday lunch so that two very elderly sister (both in their 80s and both sadly suffering from Dementia could meet up. From the moment we entered the building until we left a number of hours later, the staff were marvellous catering for our every need (full marks to everyone!) A table in the lounge had been reserved for us for pre-lunch drinks and menus ready for us. The lunch itself was of the highest quality with staff going out of their way make our meal memorable. After lunch we were taken to a small lounge for coffee. What a way to spend a Sunday. We will be going back

Brilliant place to visit for a treat. Lovely afternoon tea and was able to swap a few Items with no problems at all. Absolutely fantastic service, staff are a credit to the place! Lovely grounds also. Worth a visit for anyone!

I stayed in the Laconium Suite for one night and couldn't be happier with the stay. Check in was straight forward and easy. Plenty of car parking spaces. My room was very very quiet and huge. The rooms are set back from that main road and my window was open all night and i didnt hear a thing. So don't be put off by the hotel being on a main road. The private spa facilities are worth the extra money. The Sauna is a dry heat Sauna so i used the steam room more and they both heat up within ten mins. The bath is huge and there's a tv for those who want it. The separate shower is very handy too.

Just home from a 2 night stay in a mini suite, fantastic room lovely furniture and good bed . Huge bathroom with spa bath and huge shower, very clean and very friendly staff. I will be honest i thought the breakfast was just average for a hotel of this standard.we chose not to use the restaurant in the evening based on my breakfast.i will stay in this hotel again when in Doncaster.

We enjoyed a very pleasant couple of days at this hotel. When we phoned we asked reception for an 'easy access' room unfortunately the receptionist didn't know what this was! We explained that we required a room on the ground floor or access by lift to higher floors and a walk in shower. A room meeting our needs was available and our room was excellent, very spacious and having a large bathroom with both a large bath and walk in shower. It did however have one very irritating problem; one couldn't turn the bedside or room lights on or off when lying down on the bed! The room light switch was positioned too far from the bed and the exceptionally tall bedside cabinet coupled with very tall table lamps, made it impossible to reach the switch on the bedside lamp. (I am six feet tall with arms of appropriate legnth) We suggested that the manager should try this for himself, it was really very wearing having to get up from bed to turn the bedside light on or off! One feature in this hotel which we appreciated was that the corridor to the bedrooms was locked in the evening and required your room key to gain access; this helped to make the bedroom extremely quiet. Food was good and the served breakfast excellent.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in a standard room. The room was very nice, very spacious with a nicely decorated bathroom. We were attending a friend's wedding evening reception. The reception was fabulous , very friendly staff and the evening warm buffet was well presented and tasty. Had a very enjoyable evening . We had a full English breakfast the following morning self service which I prefer as I don't have a big appetite first thing in the morning. They do have an additional menu also. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Mount Pleasant and would definitely return in the future.

We used this hotel for an overnight stay on the way to Northumberland and the room was absolutely enormous with acres of space and a superb bathroom with separate bath and large walk-in shower. Everything was as it should be and very clean. However, it saddens me to report that the evening meal was very poor and not worthy of a hotel of this standard.

We arrived for a evening wedding reception checked in and when we found our room we thought they had given us the wrong room, it was a wonderful suite fabulous bathroom everything you could need great start to a fabulous night, as with all hotel rooms far too hot, the food provided was good, the only down side was the cost of drinks, extortionate prices this is the down side to hotel weddings, we did have a great night though!! The next morning we were down early for breakfast as advised by reception! Very good choice but the hot selection wasn't looking too fresh, rubbery fried eggs!! but we didn't go hungry, good coffee , we would definitely go back .

We stayed in the Caldaria Spa Suite for 1 night and it was amazing. The room is huge and the bathroom is out of this world with its sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi tub. We also had room service and the food was superb. If you are looking for an amazing romantic weekend away book this room.

We stayed one night as catching up with relatives in Doncaster. Generous size room, bed and bathroom with an additional seating area with a welcome settee, good size flatscreen TV to enjoy and blob out after a busy road trip. A small bar fridge would be a useful addition to store our travelling food items (bar fridges are common in NZ accommodation). We enjoyed a drink in the bar - a specialised G&T and Cider. The only negative was our room right near the busy road.

Hotel grounds, function rooms and hotel rooms are all lovely. Rooms and bathrooms are huge and comfortable. Food is of excellent quality and the desserts to die for, the pastry chef is one to hang on to. Have visited twice with work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for work or leisure.

Took my daughter to celebrate her 30th & it was amazing. Service was sublime, from the initial booking, to receiving us, the bar service & finally in tje restaurant. This is how it should be done. Food was impecable. Looked, smelled & tasted amazing. They dont do birthday cakes so we took our own & they saw to everything & the presentation too When we left my daughters partner said it all...."best meal ive ever had" enough said

Celebrated my 50th birthday with friends and family last Friday. At short notice they were able to accommodate us. Friday was the day of their new menu and we all enjoyed our meal very much. All staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. I can recommend this place and hope to return very soon. Thank you for making my day memorable x

We booked a pyjama party for 8 of us to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was excellent in every respect. I shared a bedroom for 3 - it was huge, well equipped and very comfortable as was the lovely bathroom. We had the use of the apartment which was very comfortable and spacious and had music, TV, Wii, DVDs, a kitchen area and loads of comfy sofas. A delicious meal was brought for us. The breakfast buffet next morning was also spot on. A lovely hotel which I would recommend to anyone.

I was in Doncaster for business couple of weeks ago, and the staff was very helpful the room are clean and the hotel it's in a good spot where it's easy to reach the centre.if in Doncaster I would book here again .

We booked the Thermae Suite for the night and weren't disappointed. There was room aplenty with a large seating area, work desk, tv and associated package plus iPhone/iPad docking (4 and 5/6 docking options) system and large bed. The bathroom was perhaps more impressive with its large shower, 6' glass bath, double sinks, inbuilt cold water dispenser and sauna (and toilet but that goes without saying). We had already eaten but there was food available both via room service and downstairs. The breakfast was reasonably nice but without an extensive continental choice. We'd happily visit again.

I stopped here with 20 other work colleagues, we all had beautiful rooms all slightly different and quirky in there own way, I personally had a huge room with a king size bed separate seating area and huge bathroom. We went to the Doncaster races and this is a short distance from the hotel. The hotel itself is quiet and comfortable. After the races we had a private room with a bar and outside seating area, the bar stayed open till very late and the bar staff were so great joining in on the fun telling us to try all different drinks. The bed was luxuriously comfortable the room itself was massive and had all the amenities you would need and more, I had a brilliant view of a grassed courtyard out my window. It was very quite great lay out and very spacious, breakfast was also superb. Could not have catered for us anymore than they did. Truly superb stay! Would highly recommend to anybody, especially for business trips!!!!

Pleasant and professional reception staff. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished and had everything needed for a our stay. Bar and restaurant staff were welcoming and helpful, excellent give menu and good food also a little on the pricey side. Breakfast was really good and our waiter was lovely. Overall a pleasant stay and we would stay there again

Have booked my wedding here at the end of June and cannot wait. This place is my favourite place to be. The food, atmosphere and staff are all amazing! Me and my fiance make excuses just to come here. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

What a great night we had. We arrived and was shown to our table which we had booked for 10 people the room was very nicely laid out we then had pie and pea supper which was very nice. At 9pm Linacre and Knights came on doing a tribute to Michael Ball and Alphie Boe they were fantastic what a show they can sound bettter than Michael and Alphie this was followed by a disco well worth the £20 we had paid. Will definitely be there for their next show later in the year

Me and my husband had a secret wedding and then stayed here for the night as we were going on our honeymoon in the morning - we loved it. We stayed in the Thermae suite and it was honestly the best nights sleep I've ever had! The bathroom and sauna were spotless and beautiful. Room service was good, not the most choice but what do you expect in the middle of the night! We told staff we had got married that day and when we checked out in the morning they gave us a card and box of chocolates from the hotels desert counter as a gift :) Everyone was very friendly, well worth the money. Thanks to everyone at mount pleasant for the experience! Would love to try another one of the suites when we fly from Doncaster Sheffield again.

Super trouper , this is not the first time we have stayed at the Mount Pleasent and the rooms continue to impress. Morden bath room with walk in shower (always one of my measures). The only problem here was the sink plug did not work. King size bed, L shaped large sofa, writing table and more. No fridge though. The evening was fun taking place in one of the function rooms. And breakfast in the restaurant was great. Staff, very helpful, and always pleasent. The hotel always looks welcoming, from reception to the lounges, the bars and the small snugs. Not far from Sheffield and close to the airport, I would always recommend the Mount Pleasent.

I attended with 2 of my friends for a Abba Murder Mystery. Checking in and out was done very effiently. Met with a very warm greeting by receptionists. The room was very bright, spacious and very very clean. The staff throughout were very friendly and had a smile for us. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a very large selection of foods. Service was spot on and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a wonderful stay at Mount Pleasant which I couldnt fault at all and would definitely recommend and look forward to staying again.

I have called many times at Mount Pleasant for coffee and loved the experience and that was the main reason I booked afternoon tea for myself and my friends. What a disappointment! The open sandwiches were similar to door wedges and not simple to eat. One of our group, when asked for preferences, stated that she did not want butter on her bread only to find that her bread was plastered in butter. Tea was served without a jug of milk or hot water and we had to ask for this. We were given a selection of mini cakes that looked like little isolates on the three tiered serving stand. One tiny scone per person tasted dry and rubbery as if made from the left over rolled dough. I booked our occasion over the phone and was asked to pay 'up front'. Was this, I wonder, because they knew we wouldn't be satisfied. I suggest that the chef visits Monk Fryston Hall to see a properly presented afternoon tea which can be also be purchased for £14.95.

I stopped over for one night as I was working in the area and I booked in to this great hotel. Everything was spot on from the staff to the food but the only thing that let it down was the busy road next to the main building. It's only a small issue but as It was noticed it's an issue all the same!! Great place and I look forward to returning

Go once a month on a Friday to see our daughter. Always friendly and relaxed surroundings, staff very helpful. Pleasant bar areas with a good selection of reasonably priced wines & spirits. Going again in about 2 weeks time.

Beautiful, old building housing this delightful, elegant hotel. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful from begining to end. Huge room, well appointed with bath in en-suite as well as shower. Problem with hanging space as folded, single bed housed in wardrobe. Not a real problem as we were there for a weekend only. Amazing buffet breakfast choice on Sunday, but unfortunately barely warm. Monday better, but menu choice and waiter not so friendly. One real problem - tissues not replaced in bathroom and when I requested more from reception a used , open box was delivered to room.

It was a fantastic stay in the thermae suite at the mount pleasant hotel Doncaster they will definitely be getting my business again and Sunday lunch was so good I could not have had a better lunch anywhere else

Lovely old hotel with modern touches but still holding onto its history in certain quarters. Surrounded by lovely countryside views ,ideal location. For Doncaster attractions . Service excellent ,food exquisite although slightly overpriced . Decor delightful ,not suitable for small children .

Took a small party for lunch food was alright service could have been more efficient . The ambience was spoilt in the restaurant by a very noisy tea party seated in the restaurant . Perhaps it is the fashion to serve afternoon teas now at the same time as luncheon how times change . Not good value for money staff tried very hard to please but realy do need more training. Will not be making a second visit certainly not to be recommended for lunch .

Stayed here on the night of Saturday 29th April 2017 whilst seeing some close friends in Doncaster. Very welcoming reception staff who handled our checking in very friendly and efficient manner. We stayed in room 181 which is an executive double and it was very good indeed. There was a large comfortable king sized bed, a seating area with a sofa, large flat screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities with biscuits and complementary bottles of water. There is also a desk and chair for those needing to do some work. The bathroom consisted of two washbasins, a large walk in shower, separate bath and a toilet. There is even a blue night light above the toilet for those of us who need to visit the bathroom during the night which means that you don't have to switch the main lights on and then stumble your way back to bed - a very neat idea. We ate in the restaurant in the evening with our friends and the food was very good. Breakfast the following morning was buffet style served in the same restaurant and it was again plentiful with a good choice and decent quality. There were a couple of hen parties and a wedding at the hotel on the night we stayed but the double doors which require a room key to open prevented any of the noise filtering down to our room - we heard nothing. Great idea which other hotels might like to consider. All in all recommended. When we visit Doncaster again we will definitely be staying here and asking for room 181.

Stayed for 1 night with a group of friend. The rooms were really big, ours was very modern with a Superb bathroom, plenty of toiletries. We had an evening meal which was very high standard food. The staff were really friendly throughout the hotel with special thanks to the man in charge of the restaurant who was especially nice and helpful.

The hotel has a nice appearance from the outside, plus there is plenty of free parking. The location is very convenient for Doncaster (Robin Hood) Airport, and also the M18,M1 and Sheffield. The room we were given was very large and full of character, the bathroom also large and it was clean. Sleep quality good, bed very clean also. The bathroom was showing its age a bit, the shower control was very hard to turn, the whole bathroom was due an update. Breakfast experience was mixed - the food was fine, the breakfast room was very nice, overlooking the very well kept garden. I see the benefits of having hot food cooked to order - it is cooked freshly instead of being cooked in bulk and sitting around, but the portions we received were quite small, and it seemed to me that the hotel are using this process to cut costs. Also found the service we received at breakfast to be very cold and mechanical, not friendly at all, as though we were an inconvenience being there. Overall, for one night, the hotel was ok, and I would probably consider it again, but some improvements are needed.

Everything here is really great. Each room is different so when you're here for a long spell it's nice to have a bit of variety each week. The jr suite was a highlight as was 210. Staff are really good and chatty in the bar. Breakfast staff were very attentive and James in particular on the bar was great

This is a good hotel that I have stayed in before. The staff are friendly and helpful and rooms are a decent size and standard. The restaurant offers reasonable food and is modern in design. I would recommend staying here.

Stayed in a the Thermae therapy suite as a late Valentines treat. The room was amazing, with a sauna, glass bath and sinks. Huge bed and TV. Most luxurious suite. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast the next morning with lots of choice. Would highly recommend.

Took Mum for afternoon tea and were seated in a lovely airy dining room. It was a bit odd that people were finishing lunch as we were having afternoon tea. A bit muddled. Maybe it was because of this that the staff seemed uncaring and completely devoid of any interest other than putting food on the table and dashing away. We did have to ask on several occasions for fresh water/tea etc which, on reflection, spoiled the experience a little.

We stayed in the laconium suite for one night...... Child free for the night. It had a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The room was absolutely immaculate, very well presented and a decor that matched the hotel perfectly. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast the following morning. Both were Gorgeous. The staff were of the best standards and could not do enough for you, I just wished I could have remembered to take there names so they could of been thanked personally. Will definitely recommend this to anyone who's thinking of going. Was stranded in Doncaster due to train problems and booked at the last minute. Nice hotel with a lot of character. Friendly helpful staff. Large bedrooms with 4 poster beds. Very good food. Nice trails for runs behind the hotel (1 loop about 4 miles).

Hotel fantastic, huge rooms and great staff however we wanted to leave promptly after our breakfast. It took so long for the breakfast to come that we had to leave without it. Dinner the previous evening was great.

We had afternoon tea for 6 of us on a Monday afternoon. It was pretty quiet but still a nice atmosphere. The sandwiches were amazing!! So tasty! I could have rather had more of them than so many cakes, but I think I'm outnumbered on that opinion. The cakes and scones were lovely. I'll definitely be returning.

A luxurious hotel on the outskirts of Doncaster Town Centre. Very quiet... Plenty of parking onsite. The rooms are of a high standard. We had a Junior Suite which had a 4 poster bed, large luxury bathroom with shower and bath.. Almost everything in the room that was needed for a restful weekend. The food in the restaurant was of good quality, at a price expected for a 5* hotel.. The dining experience was excellent with very attentive staff and good service. Highly recommended. Only grumble.. no mini bar in room as advertised.

Around 10 years ago we called in for a bar meal. The waiter took our order to the wrong table and the other customer lifted the bread and announced "I ordered a burger not steak". The waiter then brought the food to us and tried to leave it for us to eat! I refused the food and insisted on a replacement meal for obvious reasons. We vowed never to go back. Having been disappointed by other local places recently, we decided to go for Sunday Lunch for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was absolutely wonderful and we are so annoyed with ourselves for overlooking the hotel for so long. The food was excellent, the service too and we loved it when we were taken to our own little lounge for coffee. I am already planning spa treats, afternoon tea, Boxing Day lunch and we have also booked to go to a themed evening event in the Summer. I can honestly say its one of the nicest meals I've had for a long time and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Let me set the scene. I got married at this Hotel and have been a regular visitor since 1996 and I've seen the Hotel develop and grow over this time. The bedrooms are wonderful and we are working our way through all the new rooms as they come on stream. The food in the Hotel is also of a good standard and although on this occasion we're had to send our starters back ( they weren't cooked through) the matter was quickly resolved. The Hotel has had its main restaurant refurbished and in my opinion it's totally lost the wonderful ambience it used to have. Beautiful tables, high back chairs and table cloths have been replaced by what look like cheap tables, bright red chairs and lighting that lights up the whole of the Hotel. I was able to talk to the staff on reception about my views and they were happy to note my comments but I'm sure I'm not the only regular visitor who feels the refurbishment had spoilt what was a lovely restaurant. If you are looking for lovely rooms, great staff and good food I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel. If you are looking for a romantic meal in a unique restaurant then I don't think Mount Pleasant are able to recreate this. I hope that some of the management team are able to reflect this this feedback, I'm a regular visitor who has tried to demonstrate the fabulous things that this Hotel has to offer

I was lucky enough to be able to stay in one of the spa suites, totally fantastic, beautiful large bathroom with all the extras as promised, lovely clean and comfortable room, great easy parking, we did not eat in the restaurant or use the bar, however the menu looked pleasant and reasonable price. I will certainly return and recommend this hotel, The standard of the room would command a much higher price in city locations, good value for money.

Amazing place to stay in a beautiful location. Bit on the pricey side. Fantastic friendly staff. Food of an exceptional standard. If I could afford it I would just live there forever. I wish I knew more people and had a larger social circle and that I was more popular as I would have a series of social functions at the venue as well.

I've only ever stayed in the spa suites in this hotel and all I can say is they're absolutely fantastic. I've stayed in all of the spa suites other than the paddahi (I think that's what it's called!) And they all have beaten every other hotel I've ever stopped in. The cleanliness is impeccable, the staff are always polite and courteous, they offer a turn down service, free WiFi and several other services for a charge that are really useful. Ironing board, Iron, hairdryer are perfect for any travelling lady. The sheets are always perfect and I have never had a problem other than the shower not working on one of the rooms which the staff sorted out as soon as we mentioned it. I will continue to keep coming back for a relaxing spa break that I can do with my own company, no interruptions, complete silence and the offer of the therapie salon if I fancy it. Keep it up, this place is fantastic!

From arrival to checking out my wife and I were made to feel extremely welcome. Nothing was too much for the staff who were on hand anytime you needed them. Truly enjoyable 2 night stay, the food is to die for, the kitchen really know how to cook and present food. The bar is slightly over priced average pint cost is £4.50 but not too much of an issue as the surroundings made up for it. We will be back for sure.

Booked a 1 night stay to visit relatives in the area , got a fantastic upgrade to suite with four poster bed bathroom had huge bath shower and sauna Visited family then settled down to meal in hotel , nice choice on menu , ordered sirloin , which came perfectly cooked , just the way I liked it , and was the best steak I have tasted in the UK , back to our room watched a bit of TV then bed which was very comfortable ,lovely hot shower in morning and down for breakfast a range of cold servings ham cheese and bakery goods , hot breakfast was good and not to much , could have had more toast or crumpets but with a long drive I don't like to eat to much , checkin and out was swift and easy , would recommend going here again it is near a busy road but we heard no traffic in the night also close to Doncaster airport , but heard nothing from there aswell

My partner book hotel as a surprise ,it was one of the best places ive ever stayed in the room was beautiful the food was great and the staff made you feel really special nothing was to much trouble carnt wait to go back.

We booked for afternoon tea. It is really good value for money and lovely food. Although I did feel a couple more sandwiches were needed. The cakes are absolutely beautiful...especially the chocolate one! A lovely yet basic tea service. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Thanks.

Stayed two days in this lovely comfortable hotel and much enjoyed the staff friendliness, flexibility and competence. This is a well run establishment, with an excellent chef. The food was not only well presented but very tasty. The menu had staples and more interesting food, I had venison the first night and vegetarian lasagne the second. The breakfast is very good and arrives quickly, so when you are in a rush that is helpful. The continental option is good including fresh fruit salad, berries and meats, cheeses and yoghurts as well as croissants and pastries. My bedroom was huge, clean and comfortable and everything worked. There was complimentary water in addition to tea and coffee making facilities. Most but not all of the towels were fluffy. There were bathrobes and slippers, and there were ample nice toiletries which were replenished even if the bottle had not been fully used up.

We stayed here for business. There were 16 of us and all of us had huge fab comfortable rooms. Large double beds, 2 2 sweaters sofas, large desk/dressing table. Huge warm bathrooms with large bath. Dressing gowns & slippers. Towels were soft. Breakfast very good. Lunch & evening meals very good. Highly recommend this hotel. Around 15mins from station.

We stayed this weekend and had a lovely weekend. We arrived on Friday and we picked up our key. Upon getting into the room it was lovely but had a number of old pieces of furniture. My wife does not like old buildings or furniture and felt uncomfortable. We went to reception and the receptionist was fantastic and found us an alternative modern room which was brilliant. We came down for a meal again all staff were brilliant and friendly even the breakfast staff. Overall our stay was excellent and I can't praise the staff any higher. We would stay again

Very comfortable hotel with great food and friendly staff. Handy for Doncaster Robin Hood Airport and visiting Vulcan XH558, which is the primary reason for our visit. This was our second visit to this hotel and we cannot recommend it enough - first class!

An overnight stay to see Vulcan. Impressed with the hotel, room very spacious and quiet. Dinner, good choice and price. Wished we had booked a few more nights, very relaxing stay. Huge carpark and lovely gardens.

This hotel is one of my favourite places to spend time. My husband and I married here 14 years ago before the extension, we loved the decor and the charm of the place so much we also held my sons christening there. We have now moved away from the area so don't get to visit so often. So I was delighted when my husband surprised me with a overnight stay on Tuesday 25th October. We stayed in the Jessop suite and from the moment we checked in the stay was perfect. The Jessop suite is just the right size with a wonderful bed being the focal point of the room. Everything you require is provided complimentary tea tray etc. We had a few drinks before dinner in one of the little lounges off the bar area, the bar was very busy with business people and lap tops which I suppose could be frustrating if you want a romantic time and want to sit in the bar. We ate in the garden restaurant which appears to have had a bit of a make over and whilst I think the extension is brilliant and well presented I am not sure about the restaurant it doesn't have the same charm ( but I suppose the hotel needs to move with the times) We had a starter and a main course and although I had my eye on the Chefs speciality dessert I just couldn't fit it in ! The food was well presented and tasted delicious. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We both slept well and enjoyed our breakfast which was again delicious. We left the hotel feeling relaxed and taken care of. We will of course visit again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone regardless of it being for a relaxing romantic break or a huge wedding celebration because the hotel caters well for all occasions. An excellent two days away was spent at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, the room was the best room we have ever stayed in apart from a 5 star hotel we stayed in in Budapest. The evening meal menu was not too large which in my opinion is a good thing. The breakfast was good but the choice not extensive. The cooked food we had was excellent

Hi . Stayed here in the Sanctuary suite one evening. The pictures on the website are quite misleading sauna was JUST big enough for 2 people to sit side by side .Not that relaxing. Jacuzzi pretty small also. Over priced I'm afraid. . But nice to look at I guess.

We visit the Mount Pleasant Hotel quite regularly for afternoon tea, lunches and Sunday lunch, we decided to book for the Motown night and stay over the night. What a wonderful time we had, great room at a concessional price because of booking the Motown event night. Although it was a standard room, I would put it in the executive bracket having stayed in numerous hotels, room 155 was a large ground floor room beautifully furnished with a large bathroom with separate shower, bath, and bidet. Lovely fluffy white towels, bathrobes and slippers. The bed was comfortable with a pillow menu. Iron and ironing board, safe, portable fan heater, (did not need this as central heating on and lovely and warm), large double walk in wardrobe. Wall mounted flat screen t.v complimentary hot chocolate, tea coffee biscuits and bottled water, all you could need. Really clean, with two large leather armchairs to relax in. The venue was good for the Motown singer 'Jackie Marie'' accompanied by a good DJ, a very good three course meal, although only one choice of starter, main and dessert, you had to contact the hotel prior to change this if you were veggie or needed a special diet. We did enjoy our meal, which was served hot by courteous staff. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style with a good choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Cold meat and cheeses, a selection of breads and croissants plus a good choice of hot food i.e. Bacon , eggs any style, full English, and other options to order. All in all excellent! As a regular visitor, I was not too impressed by the newly refurbished Garden room restaraunt, which is now modern contemporary furnished, I personally much preferred the 'traditional' old style furnishings , to me it's been stripped of its character, but this is my opinion and this does not detract from the hotel's very good food and service. We will return again soon, I do love this hotel! Thankyou to the staff, a great team!

What a change to be booked into such a beautiful hotel within my company's nightly budget. The bathroom was to die for and I enjoyed a long. Soak in a bath that I could lie flat in! Breakfast had everything you could wish for

You get what you pay for with Premier Inn. A good spacious clean room, an extremely comfortable bed and a great night's, (uninterrupted), sleep. We had a speedy check in and out and a good breakfast to start the day. A short walk to some nearby bars and restaurants, made this a great location to conduct our business visit.

Super hotel -- room was wonderful -- more like a suite than just a room ! Bathroom just as good . Outstanding value -- will certainly stay here whenever in Donnie ...treat yourself and stay here . Staff most friendly -- food was also great -- just can't fault it

My family brought me here for a family Sunday lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was my first meal here, though they have been several times. It was lovely from start to finish. The staff were excellent - very polite and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very tasty and I enjoyed every mouthful (and I'm a fussy eater!). And it was nice to be able to have a private lounge to ourselves after lunch, and have our coffee in peace. Everything was very relaxed and unhurried. I can certainly highly recommend the restaurant here. The building itself is lovely and in a very good location near Bawtry. I can imagine that actually staying here is very nice experience and I understand from family that they do wonderful spa days here too.

We had Sunday lunch here and from start to finish we received excellent service and had a lovely family meal The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We definitely be returning. It was appreciated after the meal we had coffee in the lounge areas so we could chat and relax. We never felt rushed and the hotel setting and gardens are beautiful.

Great ambience, lovely furniture and room, the food was exceptional. i was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were helpful and professional. A really great experience. I would recommend this hotel very highly.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip with two colleagues. On arrival reception staff were very helpful and friendly. My room was an executive double. It was huge, lovely sofa, desk big enough to work on and comfortable double bed, the furnishings were lovely brocade. Bathroom was very modern, think they must be updating all the rooms. Very efficient walk in shower just one button to push. Nice fluffy towels and bathrobes. Breakfast was excellent, made a nice change for it not to be a buffet breakfast. Had dinner on two nights, this again was very good and excellent attention from the staff, at breakfast also. Although this hotel is quite isolated, there is a town a short drive away with bar and restaurants. But I would recommend using this hotel as a preference.

Stopped here for our wedding anniversary, and so reserved one of the four poster rooms (the Princess & Pea). All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant staff all seemed knowledgeable about food allergies regarding their dishes. The food itself was excellent, with decent sized portions each course. We were especially surprised to find all the staff were aware of our anniversary, and everyone seemed to go the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our meal. As the location of the hotel is close to Robin Hood Airport, we were expecting some residual noise, especially with a very busy road alongside. However, we didn't hear anything, and the room we stayed in was perfectly quiet and very comfortable. Overall, the standard of the room was excellent, and the cleanliness of the whole hotel looked fantastic. I've often seen the housekeeping staff hoovering, but it was a first to see all the skirting being polished! And even in the midst of their work, every member of staff stopped to say "Good morning". It was only an overnight stop, but we will return soon for a longer break.

Stayed here for one night as part of the romantic retreat package. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the room we stayed in (executive suite for 2 adults) was huge with great decor! In our room there was a complimentary bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates. We checked in at 3pm and we also had a late checkout at 1pm as part of the package. But there's more! Included in the romantic retreat package was a three course meal and a breakfast buffet!!! The food was delicious! Couldn't fault a thing. However what really made our weekend experience really fantastic was the service from the staff. From the reception desk to the servers in the restaurant were honestly amazing! Extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel like royalty! We will 100% be returning here and I would like to experience a room with a spa quite because the photos of them look incredible ! 10/10

The hotel is well situated and easy to find, we wanted to stay outside of Doncaster and away from busy night life. I stayed at the hotel with my eight year old daughter, the hotel isn't set up for children, although it is a good hotel and the staff are very friendly. I had used the hotel before many years ago and nothing has really changed, its clean and functional however somewhat dated for what I was wanting. For reunions, weddings, large groups and meeting friends a great place, however with a child I would not stay again. I have no complaint with the hotel, it does what it needs to do.

I was a little disappointed given I had been recommended this hotel by good friends who had a fantastic stay. Our room was dusty and there were a number of files within the net curtain and some dead on the windowsill. Dinner wasn't the greatest but I put that down to a wedding and 40th Birthday party that were taking place the same time as our stay. I presume the kitchen would have been very busy!

Visited re Sunday lunch must say it was excellent ,every thing was first class service,food, setting , they have re vamped the dining room since last time there and changed the chairs looks really nice & spotless ,will defiantly visit again

Stayed the night before our visit to YWP ( Yorkshire Wildlife Park ). Excellent hotel, stayed in Family Executive Room which was huge absolutely brilliant. Food 5 star and staff very friendly and all at a good price

Excellent service and lovely large bedroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day family wedding stay. The only negatives would be the litter scattered around the smoking/outside area of an otherwise charming garden and the overall commercialisation of a hotel and restaurant that has traditionally been of a high quality. What it offers it does well.

We stayed for one night at the Mount Pleasant and were pleasantly surprised to find that we were upgraded to a four poster bed room. The hotel is well situated for Doncaster Airport where we visited the Vulcan bomber. The hotel is very large for a Best Western (our experience) and provides facilities for business meetings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was very good and we would recommend the hotel.

I love this hotel. The beds are so comfortable, the rooms luxurious, the breakfast fantastic. Would highly recommend. Have stayed here several times and each time the experience is as good as the last.

Really good hotel. Had a superb room (142) Food was very good can't comment on the drinks as on a holiday diet. Staff were really nice . Made a long weekend of work a lot better than it could have been. Thanks to Mount Pleasant well done.

We stayed at the Mount Pleasant hotel as a treat on 23/09/2016, and I booked to stay here on the back of the reviews and photos of the luxury rooms available. We stayed in a suite room, number 287 and I have to say it was absolutely spot on. The room was immaculate and to say it was huge is a understatement. I choose the room to pamper my wife and give us a treat and the room and hotel delivered! Huge spa jacuzzi bath, sauna and steam room. Walk in shower, and being able to relax and watch TV in the jacuzzi was Devine! The room was perfect. Lots of space, 2 lovely comfortable sofas to relax and watch the huge flat screen smart tv on and then the jewel in the crown being a floating bed that was the biggest we've ever been in! A perfect overnight stay. We would not hesitate to come back and try the other suites on offer! This hotel is pure luxury! If your thinking about staying...book now and I'm sure you won't regret it!

On first impressions I was very impressed and very happy to be staying in such a lovely warm and welcoming hotel on an work visit. Then I had a meal in the restaurant with my colleague Both meals were very unpleasant And expensive The monk fish tasted like disinfectant and crab was horrible But the worst thing was finishing the salad and then on finishing the last part I noticed a piece of onion covered in mould I felt sick and very upset that I had probable eaten a salad which was not in a fit state to eat I complained and it was recorded and the cost of the meals was wavered

Called in one morning with a friend just for a warm as we had got very cold. English weather again! We were invited into a lovely small room with a fire & leather chairs, it was like a front room very cosy and welcoming. The coffee and toast was so good and the lady who served us was very pleasant. Although the hotel has a bigger room for Tea , coffee or snacks we so enjoyed the homeliness and character of the smaller room it felt very personal.

A very comfortable hotel where if you book in advance provided excellent value for money. The food is very good with a good range of choice. The internet connection is fast and free throughout the hotel. As a frequent customer I would say the service is what make me go back on a regular basis!

This was our first time visiting this hotel but have been to other Best Westerns. Me, my husband and our 2 year old son stayed for a one night stay for a family wedding. The wedding was beautiful and service from the bar staff to the catering staff were wonderful and very professional. They even went to extra mile to ensure my son was happy with his food and as he didn't like the ice cream dessert they went and got him a big bowl of strawberries instead which was very thoughtful. Check in was quick and easy and the receptionist was lovely. We even managed to check in 45 minutes earlier than the check in time as our room was ready which was really handy. The room was lovely, we had a standard double which was huge. The room had a settee and an extra bed for our son. There was tea/coffee making facilities and toiletries in the bathroom. I would have given it a 5 star the only reason for 4 is because the prices of the drinks. £4.45 for a pint of San Miguel and one of the guests had a double malibu and coke at £8.40 which is extortinate! Those are London prices. That aside all in all we had a wonderful stay and would recommend Mount Pleasant but will warn them about the costly drinks.

Excellent, venue staff where brilliant. Only thing I was not really happy with my steak which was well done was tough, but I did not let this ruin my meal. Food for all my guests was brilliant, Oliver the waiter was also spot on, service was fab. Defiantly recommend to anyone, the chef went that extra step for my Daughter with her dessert, which I was unaware of and she was blown away. Well done to all the staff, make our evening perfect.

Stayed at this lovely hotel last weekend whilst visiting family. This is a stunning hotel in a lovely location. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the restaurant is outstanding.

I booked this hotel very last minute when I got an invitation to the St. Ledger at Doncaster Race Course. Rooms were few and far between in the Doncaster area because of the large number of racing fans in town but I managed to get a room here. I booked a double deluxe room which was the cheapest available but when I checked in I found I was in a junior suite which was just beautiful. The room was very comfortable and quiet except for the fireworks provided for the wedding party downstairs. No complaints about this as I had my own private firework display watched from the window of my suite. The bed and bathroom were of a high standard, clean and very well presented. The food in the restaurant and the service provided by all the staff was perfect, in fact I can't think of anything negative about my stay at all. I will be back.

Decided to have lunch in the Captains Bar. Although no table booked, some were available when we arrived at 1pm. The menu was a good mix of options from sandwiches and lighter bites through to the roast of the day. Decided on starters and desserts. Cheese soufflé was excellent and enjoyed by all. Desserts offered a good choice and again all members of the party throughly enjoyed them. Service attentive without being intrusive. A very pleasant lunch indeed.

Fantastic food with very helpful and friendly staff, we will be back soon! There is ample parking and everything was sparkling clean. I had the fish which was very tasty. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

Room was fantastic. Very large and well kept with 3 seater sofa, desk and leather chair with great bathroom facilities. Very nice. Very nice staff. A pint of bitter was over £4 and the fish and chips were poor and expensive: frozen fish but fresh fried, old potatoes, pureed tinned peas aiming to be something special but way off the mark

The rooms are above average size and very pleasant with large bathrooms . There are a couple of cosy sitting rooms with open fires to relax and 2 dining areas that i saw. The food is what is expected ... the service in the restaurant allthough friendly and polite is far from professional with my plate being cleared from the table while my fellow diner was still eating. This happened on 2 separate days and different waiters . Apart from that which is nothing major I found it a pleasant place to stay with easy access to major roads

We hired a private room for afternoon tea, for our wedding reception. There was only 8 of us and the room was set with one large table. We were able to change the set menu to meet our needs, one guest was vegetarian and 1 child. Oliver was our waiter and his service was brilliant. We were able to decorate the room too. My husband and I stayed for the night, we had a suite and it was very clean and big. The evening meal was gorgeous and there was a huge choice at breakfast. The staff always seemed very happy to help when asked, the overall service could not be faulted. We hope that we will be able to go back and visit.

We stayed in an Executive Twin room which was generously large by today's standards as this hotel dates back to the 1930s. There is a pleasant old fashioned atmosphere about this hotel without being stuffy and it and its competent staff induce one to easily relax most comfortably. We chose a B&B and Dinner package which was good value. The best surprise was to get a properly made Dry Gin Martini thanks to Michael in the bar who knew exactly how it should be mixed and served. The restaurant fare is wholesome though its décor could be much lightened up by putting tablecloths on the brown tables.

I have stayed at the Mount Pleasant, Doncaster a number of times whilst on business trips and I have always found the accomodation and quality of service excellent. I actually thought that there was minimal room for improvement, however, I was very impressed that the timings for breakfast have been extended to accomodate business guests i.e. now serve from 06:30 instead of 07:00. This 'marginal gain', is a true reflection of the organisation being receptive to their customer needs & requirements. Truly refreshing.

Enjoyed a trio of spa treatments and afternoon tea to celebrate my mums birthday. The staff were helpful and polite. The treatment rooms and area are very pleasant and relaxing. The afternoon tea was served in the very pleasant dining room. It was delicate and delicious.

I visited this prestigious hotel just outside Doncaster earlier this week with two friends, one celebrating a 50th Birthday and pre-wedding celebration - both evident by the balloons and gifts we were all bearing. There were two small children with us too. My friend had booked, we were shown to a dinning room at the back of the hotel with only us in it! So we asked to move to the front of the hotel which was duly accommodated. It took ages to take our order, when it arrived the child's pasta hadn't been ordered, when that arrived 10 mins later it was steaming hot and placed in front of a small child !! We had to ask for a small plate to put some on to cool. The food we had (chicken Caesar salads) was overrated and over priced and very bland. We had to ask for the plates to be cleared, a dessert menu, coffee, our bill ... You shouldn't have to ask for anything if the staff are attentive. The rest of the room was afternoon tea guests of which the service was equally as bad. Some guests were left waiting for long periods, for the price and what I could see it looked very meagre and open cheese sandwiches? On skinny plain bread? Really?? I was bitterly disappointed - my opportunity to experience this beautifully presented hotel was badly let down by the lack of attention to detail and very little attention to customers!! I wouldn't go again and would recommend it. We will happily go back to the Hare & Tortoise up the road!!

Visited with my wife on August 28th, Nice hotel lovely room we booked a suite with a 4 poster bed room was clean , check in was swift & simple, ate in the bar food good service excellent staff very friendly very helpful. There were 3 weddings receptions on during the day/ evening & service wasn't disrupted. The hotel is on a busy road although inside the hotel you wouldn't notice this (no noise). I would highly recommend & will be returning for another stay.

Would just like to say what a fabulous Wedding day celebration we had on the 27/8/16 for Matt & Verity, from start to finish it was absolutely fabulous, The organisational skills of Lauren & her staff were brilliant down to every detail of the wedding, The Wedding reception meal,Evening Buffet both on Friday & Saturday were exceptional, the rooms outstanding in every way, our wedding party loved every aspect of the Weekend and we didn't want it to end,Thank You for Everything Matt,Verity, T A Oates & Family.

I think it is very clear you have a problem from the top down, I now understand where the problem lies. I am a customer who had been subject to a very poor experience at your establishment. I have then taken my valuable time to make you aware of the problem. Instead of taking my advice which would no doubt improve your hotel, you have decided to disregard my comments in favour of your own view despite not even being at the hotel. Very poor. Even more funny is you have chosen not to answer the issues with the hotel, instead trying to deflect the problem on to an entirely different issue. I will update your customers on this as you have chosen not to address the problem as it is clear the problems will not be rectified. To add to the earlier problems the you will no doubt choose to ignore or deflect. The room smelt terribly of damp. The staff informed me no food was available despite you stating it was available 24hrs. It was not clear enough when booking the King room we needed to add an extra guest - and why did the staff not politely make this apparent when we both checked in together. The staff were not as polite or professional as I would expect from hotel service. There is no transport available to the airport like in superior hotels. There is no gym (despite facilities noted in various sites) Despite claiming to have a spa available to all guests, there is no swimming pool, no relaxation facilities and no spa, you are just trying to mislead the paying public to pay well over the price the room is worth. The staff were uninterested with us the customer and seemed tired and overworked. I will of course talk with best western further about our issue as I don't believe it is fair to have people pay for such a poor experience and after conversing with yourself I can see nothing is taken on board. Good sized, clean and quiet rooms. Didn't find them dusty like previous review but everyone expects something different. Check in were helpful and the process was quick. Restaurant was a little old fashioned but the food was good and we chose to eat in the bar area. I saw the signs for a spa but didn't check it out. Airport was 5 mins away. A very popular wedding venue judging from my stay. Guests seemed to enjoy themselves although the dj played some very dodgy tunes. ?? all in all I would stay again.

Rooms dated and a bit musty. No spa, no gym, no free breakfast at the hotel (as stated it has). Poor and condescending customer care and generally unhelpful. All in all a disappointment. Not work £100+ a room. Head office trying to be helpful but in the dark ages of customer care!

Great place for afternoon tea - lots of teeny open sandwiches and cakes and scones with jam and cream - afternoon tea as it should be with a wide choice of teas and coffee too. Friendly attentive staff and lovely garden situation.

Stayed in one of the spa suites. Absolutely fabulous. Spotless and clean, fantastic facilities. Loved every second. What a great place.Very comfy bed. Lovely touches to the room. Everything a relaxing weekend treT should be.

Stayed overnight whilst visiting the Vulcan bomber. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The room was quiet even though there was a wedding celebration. The food was excellent. Would definitely visit again and recommend. It was very easy to find, arts to park and the grounds were lovely.

We have stayed in the hotel before the last time before our recent visit was in November 2015. We couldn't believe the difference this time. A wonderful happy relaxed atmosphere had turned into what seemed like unhappy staff. The biggest disappointment though was the dining room. What had once been an amazing room has been turned into a cheap cafe. We understand the need to modernise but not to down grade. Have a look at some of your other hotels that have been modernised with taste. As usual our bedroom was amazing and we love sitting in the super lounge. Now we have to look for another favourite hotel

On entering the hotel the staff and reception were very good and it looked great. We got the card for our room and on we went, on entry to the room I was very surprised at the size of the room to say we only booked a standard double, it had a huge desk 2 double sofas coffee table fantastic comfy bed and the bathroom was very large and spacious. The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice from hot and cold food, we had the hot breakfast buffet but even though the food tasted great it was not hot, it was only just warm, we had black coffee that was very nice and would recommend not like the Best Western at Clevedon where we stayed 2 weeks ago. This is a very nice Best Western that's kept very clean, perhaps you should share your cleaning staff with Clevedon

Stayed in room 291, had a great bathroom with large walk in shower and double jacuzzi bath, spacious bedroom with air conditioning. we stayed as my Fiancee was maid of honour at her friends wedding and we were stunned at the value of the room considering it was £145 on a saturday with the facilities and size of bed in the room, breakfast was a buffet vairety and very tasty. overall cannot fault our visit and all the facilities provided for the wedding were excellent too.

This review actually has the hotel as excellent but it also has the reception staff (barring Ruth) as abysmal, thus we have an average review. I would actually recommend staying there and if you speak to the reservations manager Angie, she is awesome, very professional and very accommodating. Ruth takes the same approach. However the others who will not be named, do not. The suites are superb, and the hotel is generally very quiet and relaxing.

I came here for the afternoon for an afternoon tea and some treatments in the spa. The afternoon tea was lovely- couldn't fault a thing the food was delicious. Our treatments were amazing and all the staff were very friendly and so helpful. All in all we had a lovely afternoon.

Wonderful afternoon with the ladies with lovely atmosphere and the foods was excellent, and staffs really friendly provided good services. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Wonderful afternoon tea.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds and looks very good both inside and out. The room was well stocked with tea and coffee, and was spacious & very comfortable. The staff all worked hard and were friendly. One of the best hotels I have stayed in to be honest.

Booked one of the sauna rooms for me and my partner and they are great ! Big rooms with sauna and steam room in and a big tub ! We had dinner in the restaurant and hats of to the Manager for challenging my partner to eat a massive dinner challenge for a free dessert ! Had a great time and that was a good laugh. We had two full body massages and the girls were great, we both felt very welcome and for sure will be returning for future treatments ! They even put up with my nutty partner so thanks girls you were fab ! Reception lady's I thought were abit cold and me and my partner felt abit judged when entering the hotel, pretty sure they are meant to be the most welcoming !?!? Maybe they were having a bad day I'm not to sure... Not sure I would run back, I stay in Doncaster a lot and prefer The Earl of Doncaster a lot more. Due to friendly staff.

We stayed 1 night as a gift for my boyfriends 50th birthday, we needed to chill after a week away and a big party. This was the place to be. Tranquil outdoor settings, wonderful restaurant and staff that could not do enough for you even when there was a big weeding going on. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, don't be put off by the price it's well worth the money!

On Saturday we attended a lovely wedding reception. We spent the whole day, ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening do. Everything went smoothly and Lauren and David were great. We checked in around 12 however they brought us the card later in the afternoon. We stayed in room number 291, upstairs at the end of the corridor. The room was lovely and quiet on its own overlooking an extra car park. The room was huge. Lovely furniture, huge bed, very spacious. The bathroom was amazing, a large shower, double Jacuzzi bath and his and hers sinks. Initially the room was very hot but the air conditioning soon did its job and cooled it down. The iphone dock was great too, really enjoyed listening to music and chilling in the bath. Breakfast was amazing, super choice of continental or full english buffet. We paid the extra £20 for a late check out which gave us until 1pm so that we could continue to enjoy the bathroom. We would certainly love to stay here again next and have more time to enjoy the facilities. Thank you for a lovely stay, highly recommended!

Passing through this part of the world, we decided to book an overnight stay here - mainly due to its close proximity to the wildlife park (about 5 minutes drive). I must say, this is a really great find - we stayed in a family room with a double and 2 single beds. There was also a separate seating area, large bathroom with a great bath and even better shower. The air con in the room was so cold we had to turn it off. The communal areas of the hotel are really nice, every bit a four star hotel. The grounds are also worth a little wander. Parking is plentiful. We had food via room service which was fine, the tray charge was 2.95 which is less than many places we've been. Breakfast was also fine and cooked to order, not buffet style. WiFi was free, easy to connect to and worked well. Any problems? Not really - our view wasn't great (a courtyard) and our mobiles had no signal in the room, but other parts of the hotel were fine. The hotel is also on a busy-ish A road and although I initially thought I might go for a stroll along the footpath, the speed of passing vehicles soon changed that. Overall, I can see why this hotel gets great ratings, it really is a comfortable place to stay if you are needing a stopover in this part of the country.

Loved this hotel, room was large and very comfortable. Only thing I would say the bedside lights for reading could have been a bit better. Breakfast was a buffet and excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed in one of their special suites, a great characterful room in the original part of the hotel, the mini 'Spa' in the bathroom was something different, we had 3 rooms all of which had TV (including the spa room ! there's nothing quite so decadent as watching whilst sipping leftover champagne from the night before and sharing the Japanese bubble bath )

As I say "Affordable Posh"...We really like this place. Good room for a treat (Laconium Suite) All good, really good lol. Room tick, staff tick, drinks tick & all tick as it goes. If you want to kick back and chill with a bit of "posh" then this is the place is for you...

Do not go to sleep looking forward to a well prepared quality breakfast in the morning. The chef and hotel should be ashamed at what they put down on the table for me to eat. Sausages and bacon that appeared to have been sourced from a discount supermarket, microwaved, then left under a hot lamp. The eggs had the consistency of sloppy, pale porridge and tasted of...well, I'm honestly not sure. But it wasn't egg-like and it wasn't pleasant. The juices are all from concentrate, the pastries and coffee tasted like they came from a 1990's motorway services. I offered to pay extra to get something fresh but apparently that isn't an option. Front desk confirmed the food goes through a 'generator oven' so be warned: This is how it should be..!! Staff are pleasant but if you're wanting a desirable get-away, or even an upmarket travel lodge; this place still misses the mark in several areas. The staff were, for the most part, helpful, but the service is unfortunately very 'Weatherspoon's', particularly in the restaurant and bar area. They were clueless on how to perform the dinner service and they didn't even know how to serve wine correctly. Beware: Only three of the rooms have air conditioning, so the room - even after leaving the windows fully open for the whole afternoon and evening - was uncomfortably warm and stuffy. During breakfast one of the staff was feeling faint which seemed to justify the remainder (more than 5 of them) standing around him in a seat drinking water, wittering about him him going for a checkup. Whilst this is a reasonable precaution, does it really take all of the remaining staff to do this (?) Leaving the breakfast service unattended until only one of them returned 10 minutes later. These things would be tolerable if they were on the side of a motorway, but they claim to aspire to be a cut-above. Don't believe it.

Came here just for dinner and it was ok. Nothing special but ok. Staff friendly in bar and menu was really good. Some meals were ok but some were a bit disappointing...I asked for mayonnaise with my crab salad as it was a bit plain but it never came? Steaks seemed small and some of my American visitors were clearly disappointed. Coffee in the lounge was really nice though and staff were helpful

The room, setting and service were perfect. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Also makes for a beautiful wedding venue . The room was immaculate and spacious with attention to detail, everything you could want I.e dressing gown to sewing kit. Breakfast was great too.

Came to stay at this hotel for a friends wedding, we are local but had always wanted to stay. It was perfect from beginning to end, the staff and food were both fabulous. We will defiantly be back. Thank you Mount Pleasant.

Lovely hotel with great staff, great food and HUGE rooms! Lovely big bathroom and very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast and delicious catch of the day Dover sole. Incredible value for a very glamorous room.

Me and my husband had our wedding here in march 2016 and it was absolutely perfect! Couldn't fault one thing! The staff were brilliant,the food was gorgeous,the rooms were huge!The wedding organiser David was absolutely brilliant and made sure everything ran smoothly! Thank you for such a perfect day!

This is my second visit to Mount Pleasant and I'm sure I will stay again. I think my room number was 139 (at the end of a long corridor on the ground floor). On any subsequent visits I might possibly give that room a miss though. Although it is a large, comfortable room with a very nice modern en suite shower room, I think this room might possibly be haunted. On the first night I was woken by what sounded like a loud bang on the glass topped coffee table. On the second night I was woken by one of the wall mounted bedside lights frantically flashing on and off. I didn't report these two incidents to any of the staff while I was there and the hotel is so nice it certainly wouldn't stop me booking again. If you are a budding ghost hunter though, room 139 might be right up your street!

Needing to stay overnight near Doncaster I chose this Best Western hotel because of previous good experiences with best western. Ideally close to the Robin Hood airport. The hotel is situated on the Great North road but is surrounded by fields and our room had pleasant views of the countryside. I phoned Best Western and got a deal for bed breakfast and evening meal for £155 per couple. We were upgraded to a Junior suite which was very grand. There was enough room for a party! My only comment would be the room was so big the to seemed rather small. The meal was mixed the cheese soufflé starter was excellent as was the panacotta for desert. The streak was acceptable but unfortunately the chips were rather soggy. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and cooked to order rather than stewing in a buffet server. Overall I would definitely recommend it to travellers.

We spent three nights at this hotel in June 2016 on a tour of the UK. I can't fault the rooms or the food, they were both of high standard. The rooms are very large, as well as the full bathrooms, but to be honest I found the formal layout and furniture of our room not very welcoming. The fittings are no doubt of high standard but something softer with more of a friendly and cosy feel would have been better. I feel the rooms are outdated and it's time for an upgrade. Service in the restaurant was very good and breakfasts were reasonable. The reception staff were super-efficient but not warm or friendly. I had booked this hotel because it advertised a laundry service, but was informed the laundry service did not operate on weekends and laundry submitted on Sunday morning would take until Tuesday some time to be returned. As we had to leave Tuesday morning we were unable to get our laundry done. I don't feel this is good enough for a hotel that charges the price this one does. Overall, I think there's room for improvement with this hotel and probably would look elsewhere if I ever visited the area again.

Stayed here for our 6 anniversary had an amazing time best ever room we have ever had and worth every penny they is not a thing out of place the spa rooms are amazing we have stayed in two but by far this is the best one but the other had nothing bad about it just it's the swinging bed what did it for us it's a beautiful centre peace?? the food is to die for in the restraint we had a three cause meal at the evening with top quality Costmer care love this place and would defo be going back every year thank you mount pleasant ????

This hotel was really a surprise. Booked late and got double room and breakfast at under £100. The room was great big bed airy room great to and the bathroom was something special. Had a meal in the bar which was also really good fish I had was great with big wedge chips which I am not a fan of bit they were cooked great. Guinness pie was also great. If I was to make a little complaint it would be a couple of times when getting our drinks the glasses were not always the cleanest. We got a couple of cocktails also which were really good especially the strawberry daiquiri. All in all a great place for a decent price. I would definitely recommend.

We stayed here with family for 3 nights to attend a wedding at a different venue. The hotel is lovely, we had 2 executive rooms next to each other and they were huge, beautifully decorated and very clean. We had a small issue with breakfast which was dealt with pleasantly and effectively by reception. The only reason I haven't given 5* is that we ate one evening in the restaurant, the food was a bit of a let down, we had roast pork and obviously it was left over from Sunday lunch, the pork was tough and the potatoes were soggy not great!

Weekend away for races. Lovely as usual including comfy bed and great bathroom. Stayed in room 142 which unfortunately was very noisy from above room so poor nights sleep. At breakfast everyone was in one room so noisy again and bit cramped. A shame but not hotels fault.

We had a three day dinner bed and breakfast break with an upgrade to a nice sizeable room with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was good but the evening meal was a bit of an oddity. We were given a table d'hote menu which had a limited selection. My wife had a steak and I had a strange combination of chorizo, bean mash with a tiny filet of sea bass on top. It was pretty dire and on reflection worth avoiding. Spicy sausage and fish do not go together let alone grey coloured mash vegetables. The next night we decided to eat in the bar, It was quite a revelation, an extensive menu plus the tired table d'hote. Excellent service and much better food from the menu all cooked in the same kitchen! The tip is to ask for the full menu and avoid the "table d'hote" We did later ask what had happened, it appears that they push the limited card because it provides a better profit against dinner b&b customers. Pretty sneaky. The reception staff were pleasant amd helpful.

Me and my other half came here for my birthday the room we chose was the passahdi suite and it was so lovely to chill. Would definitely recommend for a couples relaxing stay. The food was great and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Can't wait to visit again.

Visited Mount Pleasant for our wedding anniversary, having married here 15 years ago. Come here most years for our anniversary and have a lovely meal each time. Good service, however disappointed with the modern furnishings that has replaced the lovely traditional restuarant we know and loved. Small plastic type tables and small chairs, preferred the grand feeling of large round tables and high backed chairs. Sadly feel that this will now put us off coming again!

We went to a wedding and stayed for two nights. Beautiful spot for a wedding, nice grounds and lovely room. Huge double bathroom, power walk in shower and big comfy bed. All the amenities you could need and great breakfast included. Only slight issue was the need to have a little slip of paper to get a drink out of normal bar hours. Would have been more sensible to show room key/ have a cash bar?

Just been for afternoon tea, which we thoroughly enjoyed and well worth the money. We were in the large restaurant which was quiet and airy which suited us and meant we could have a nice conversation with our friends. My only problem is with the fact that you are meant to pre-pay when you actually book and only by reading a previous Review did we realise that we had not pre-paid. I did ring and confirm that we were actually booked in, but I do object to having to pay for a meal that I have not actually had - does the same apply when booking an evening meal? It would be for that reason only that I would not be in a hurry to revisit which is a shame as the everything else was very enjoyable.

Booked a standard double room for two nights were upgraded on arrival and the room was certainly a wow .room was so big you could have had a party. The bathroom was bigger then some hotel rooms I've stayed in complete with bath separate walk in shower and bidet .we ate that evening in the restuarant food was of a good standard and service was attentive. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and every other option was avialiable on a selfservice basis . Overall a great experience and my partner didn't want to leave . Do remember you tend to get what you pay for and this was certainly the case at this great hotel.

Attending a murder mystery night for the first of three planned visits to this hotel in 2016 if all went well. The service and staff attentiveness was first class at all times. From bar staff to house keeping to reception we had no complaints. A high standard is maintained throughout. The meal in one of the function rooms was good quality, hot and well presented, room service later was also equally as well presented and good quality. The room we had was an executive and very comfortable and has plenty of space to relax. The value too for what we got was exceptional and will definitely go again in 2016.

I stayed along with 11 other ladies for a 40th birthday party night in the Apartment 275. We've done this overnight stay before and noticed some improvements in that they have added a Bose bluetooth speaker for music but still no air con. As the room was very warm and only has one small window that opened it was stifling with 12 people in the room. Reception offered a single small fan which didnt do much! Reception and events were very helpful with bookings etc and allowed me to access the room around 130 and a lady named Nikki helped me decorate the room for my friend. We arrived later that day at 5pm and check in was smooth and easy. We had chosen an indian buffet which was delivered to the room but it wasnt the best. There was a chicken curry which was good, and rice and naan bread and condiments, some strange burnt poppadom type crisps and a very watery beef curry. The beef itself was soft as if slowcooked and tasted nice but it was swamped in a strange watery sauce. We also had some profiteroles and chocolate sauce. Needless to say we stayed up quite late and had music and dancing so i'm sorry if we were a little noisy, but our other 5 rooms were all located near and underneath room 275 so hopefully we didnt disturb anyone. The other exec rooms we were given were lovely, but hardly used as everyone was in room 275 until later on. We then had breakfast the next morning, the breakfast room has recently been decorated and was very quiet, yet the orders took a long time to come and were mixed up. I specifically asked for a soft poached egg but they only seemed to be able to serve them hard. It was better when you chose your own hot buffet breakfast. But you could order kippers and all sorts from breakfast so you wont go hungry and the staff were all very nice and helpful if a little lost with orders! This is still a fabulous hotel and we've always received great treatment, the rooms are very well appointed but would be much improved with air con and better wifi to defeat the lack of phone service. I know that hotels need time to service rooms, and they are particularly large rooms, but i still think that 10am is an unfeasibly early checkout for a weekend overnight stay. To charge people extra to leave later than 10am when our overnight stay for 12 people was £1080 is a little extreme! If this is a luxury hotel with high standards - allow your guests a lay in! Particularly as noone can check in until 3pm. Perhaps a few more cleaners are required.

We booked Henry's lounge for a private dinner to celebrate my husbands 60th. Everything was amazing, well organised and efficient. All our meals were very good. The wine menu and drinks menu was good. We booked three rooms and all the rooms were big, clean and well equipped. We were very well looked after.

Booked a lot of rooms here for speakers and committee for a conference and wasn't expecting quite what we got! I had an upgrade to a room about the size of my house! Got lost trying to find the lift or stairs so had to be taken, and got lost several times till I got the layout! Lovely room with huge bed, sofa and big desk, good wifi, iPod dock and decent TV but very hot and no air-con, even with windows wide open, couldn't cool it by the time I went to bed so didn't get a good night's sleep but a warm night anyway and very quiet and the bed was comfy. Lovely bathroom with huge bath and nice walk-in shower, which was lovely. Nice bathrobes provided with good toiletries and large towels. Usual tea and coffee and biscuits but would have been nice to have a choice of teas, only Yorkshire tea provided which is too strong for me. One of my colleagues said his room only had de-caf coffee! I would really have liked some bottled water or at least a decent size glass! We were 18 for dinner and had been asked to pre-order so we could be served together. This went very well and we all said how much we enjoyed our food. I had a cheese soufflé to start which was perfect, followed by steak, again, good and cooked as we liked them and then we all had different desserts which were all good. The service was quick and excellent with some good wines. Some stayed late in the lounge but I went to bed for an early start. Check out was amazing! We do this twice a year in different areas and check out is always a difficult experience due to people who don't stay, add ins who pay their own rooms and the fact that the bar bill is usually added to my room! However, as I needed an early start, I skipped breakfast expecting check-out to take at least 20 minutes but they were so efficient and everything was in order, I was thrilled!! I went to breakfast for just some 'nice' tea and my colleagues were having cooked breakfasts,fruit, cereals etc which all looked really good and freshly cooked. Overall, a beautifully kept hotel, clean and well managed and staffed by friendly people who seem to care and take a pride in their hotel, seemed a very happy ship. All the grounds, gardens and car park were clean and well tended, we will definitely come here again, thank you all at Mount Pleasant!

My stay in the best western was down to a business training course. Fabulous place, to the point when I entered my assigned room, I thought there must have been a mistake. It was enormous!! Unbelievably comfortable, friendly staff, great food, buffet style breakfast. Only one downside is lack of phone reception when staying within the hotel

Wished we had stayed for more time. It was very quiet and very comfortable and with a bit of good weather we can't think of a better place to visit. Also what I noticed is that there are a lot of repeat guests that stay here and the type of clientele is more upmarket than you expect in a Best Western (more quiet and more world traveller). Nice place to stay.

Travelling for a family event, we were assigned a huge room - a double bed and two single beds - with an ultra modern bathroom with double shower, underfloor heating and LED lights. I suspect that this was an executive room. Breakfasts were lovely - a very small buffet but hot food cooked to order. There were a number of private lounges and the gardens were beautiful. . The evening meal was more hit and miss - we concluded that steak was the safest option - consistently good. Had been looking forward to having a facial or massage - closed on Mondays and seems to be booked up weeks in advance so do book ahead if you want to use this facility. The hotel is a good option if you need to be in the Doncaster area but want a hotel with more character.

What a lovely hotel we had several rooms between us every one huge, comfortable beds,beautiful bathrooms we all had some sort of treatment in there lovely treatment rooms Dinner and breakfast was really good the staff all very friendly well worth your money will defo go back

We visited the hotel today to attend a wedding. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with stunning gardens. We had coffee when we arrived and the staff were very obliging and helpful. I helped finish setting the room out and the staff there could not have been any more helpful. The wedding breakfast was delicious with no waiting between courses. The rooms are this hotel are lovely ( the bride showed me her room). I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything about the hotel is excellent - service, room size, bed and general ambience. The food is very good, but I felt it was just a little short of excellent. One great feature of the hotel that isn't mentioned on the website or in the literature is that, if you go to the back of the car park, there's a country lane that leads to a networkof well signed walks throgh woodlands and rolling countryside. It's something they should really be shouting about and was a huge bonus.

Our holiday flight was cancelled and we were transferred to fly from Doncaster the next day.The airline put us up in this woderfull hotel overnight. Late evening meal which was delicious was provided and a wonderful breakfast next day.Luxury room furnished to a high standard. Highly recommend.

Despite being next to the road and one of the bigger Best Western Hotels I have stayed in, this one is very quiet and extremely comfortable. A popular wedding venue. The food is vey good and the breakfast extensive & tasty. Staff are very obliging and helpful. Very good value. A little bit of a rabbit warren to get around in!

We've just got back from our stay and it's was amazing!! Afternoon tea in the Garden Restaurants was delicious and made us feel rather posh! The Caldaria Signature Suite is out of this world from the suspended bed to spa bathroom!! The sauna has a built in sound system and a TV in front of a whirlpool bath....I have died and gone to heaven!! The service was outstanding from check-in to the meal we had in the bar, breakfast and even checking out this morning!! We will definitely be staying again and trying out the other spa suites!! This is by far the best thing I have ever won!! Thank you to the Best Western Mount Pleasant Hotel and your Team Xx

We were visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park and were recommended this hotel. What a find! Our room (162) was huge - the bed was lovely and comfortable. We had afternoon tea - this was lovely. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in one of the hotels signature suites. The passaddhi suite (don't quote my spelling) the room was gorgeous and the bathroom was out of this world. We had room service one of the nights we stayed. I had the pan fried duck Breast which was beautiful and cooked to perfection. I would recommend this suite to anyone looking for a nice night away

Stayed here for the spa break package. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Fabulous staff and excellent service. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food is top notch both in the bar and in the restaurant. I can't rate this hotel highly enough. Thanks for a great stay.

A lovely local venue, where we have eaten before - but such a disappointing tasteless roast pork supper: nice roast potatoes & gravy, but the other veggies were on the hard under-cooked side of al dente. It took 40mins for the meal to appear. The pork was bland and surrounded by an inch of wobbly white fat. No crackling.The staff were polite, but rushed and largely absent from the dining area. £50 for the roast for two of us and 3 drinks. Not good enough.

I visited here with friends for a pyjama party. We had a great night and the staff were brilliant. The rooms were massive and spotless and the beds were really comfy. The food was delicious and breakfast in the morning was perfect. Will definitely be doing it again.

This has to be one of the most excellent & value for money hotels I have stayed in on business, Fantastic location , fantastic rooms and absolutely spotless. The hotel as soon as you walk through the door feels just like home ,lovely friendly helpful staff , nice gardens ,somewhere to park the car after a long journey and breakfast in the morning is cooked fresh for you , one just could not find fault at this hotel, Business or pleasure you will not regret staying at this hotel, I will be back on business but also will be booking a few days leisure break with my good lady wife , Fantastic !

Clean and well presented rooms in an easy to get to location with secure parking. Good service from all staff nice eating rooms restricted dinning choices for non meat eaters. Recommend to business or pleasure/travellers. I stay at least twice per month and have never had a bad experience

I had a business trip and stayed at the hotel. They asked me if I wanted to be up graded free of charge, and I said yes. And WOW!!!! I was blown away by the up grade. The bathroom had a sauna a massive glass bath aswell. The living room was bigger than some apartments. I had dinner there which was wonderful and breakfast aswell. Overall 5 star all around.

I recently booked for afternoon tea over the phone, looking forward to going when I had arrived there was no knowledge of my booking this was due to not making payment when booking. This wouldn't have been a problem had I been originally asked on the booking call. We were then seated and the table laid with table cloth and plates while sat at the table rather than maybe being asked to wait in reception while the table was being laid. The cups then arrived and were picked up by the top where drunk from which is not good practice. The afternoon treats were quick to arrive however no staff come to ensure that all was ok. Although I appreciate that it's a few sandwiches and cakes it would be expected for someone to come across and ensure we were happy with what had arrived. Won't be rushing back unfortunately for afternoon tea or any meal which is a shame due to the lovely grounds. I was looking into staying for a spa day however will now be looking elsewhere.

Stayed here for one night on business. With Best Westerns, you're never entirely sure what you're going to get. Thankfully, this is one of the better ones! I was given a huge room with two double beds, a good start. The bathroom too was big. Decor was OK, all the usual amenities were present. Steam iron, plenty of power sockets, a fan (no aircon), slippers and bathrobes also provided. Shower gets 6/10 for power. There was four of everything...except the coffee. I arrived around 4 and had some work to be getting on with so more coffee would have been good. Dinner was fine. burger ?? and cheese selection was nice enough. All in all, quite a good hotel, handy for my meeting at Doncaster racecourse.

I am lucky enough to stay at this hotel most weeks as I commute long distance to work. Over the past 18 months I have never had cause to complain once. First the staff who are, without exception, welcoming, knowledgable, helpful and extremely professional - I really hope that the hotel management appreciates just how good they are. The rooms are, without exception, large. They range in style from very traditional to contemporary. There are numerous four poster rooms if that appeals - though these are definitely not for me. The staff always make sure I have a room with a bath and a shower and never forget that I prefer a feather pillow. Room amenities include everything you might need but I am sure if you had forgotten something the staff would try hard to help. If you want a real treat I would book one of the spa suites - luxury. The food in the restaurant is great quality and good value. As I travel solo I often have room service - again excellent. This evening I took a walk in the nearby countryside - stunning! It may have taken me a while to write a review but I would honestly and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is huge. The grounds, entrance, public areas and even the private rooms are huge. Some of the areas have kept a traditional feeling like deep red colours and comfy seats then other areas are modern crome and neon lights. Strangely they actually go together. I didnt use the spa area but i did manage to have a look around and it looks impressive. I went for a business reason and was not dissapointed. Go the extra mile, pay that little bit (fair) price and you will mlbot be dissapointed. Staff lovely.

We stayed here overnight for a wedding. The staff were very helpful and polite. We were allowed to check in an hour early as the room was ready. This was very helpful as the wedding was being held at the hotel and it gave us time to settle in and change clothes before the wedding breakfast. The room was huge and full of lovely period furniture in keeping with the age of the hotel. Plenty of hot water and a decent shower. Lovely toiletries including body lotion and shower caps. The venue was perfect for the wedding. The hotel is surrounded by large gardens and many photos were taken of the bride and groom in this lovely area. We had a continental breakfast delivered to our room the next morning which was perfect for us and arrived exactly when we had requested. There is plenty of parking. The hotel is situated very close to Robin Hood Airport and would be a convenient place to stay the night before or after a flight. We didn't hear any aircraft noise either. It's easy to access the hotel from the M18 from the new link road. We will return when we are in the area again.

What can I say - stayed one night on Saturday and enjoyed every minute. The room was only a standard double but this and the bathroom were huge and comfortable and looked newly refurbished. The hotel staff were all excellent - nothing was too much trouble even though they were full and really busy with a wedding and parties. We asked for a quiet room and that's exactly what we got - didn't hear a thing as we were given a room away from the busy main road. They also have beautiful grounds. Didn't eat at the hotel but other people told us the food was excellent. Well done best western

Looking for a change, we decided to visit BW Mount Pleasant for lunch, a place we have driven past a few times but never stopped at. We arrived much later than intended, about 2.30 pm, and thought we might have missed lunch, but this was no problem …. food available all day until 6pm. The immediate impression of the outside is very positive, and this is reinforced on closer inspection. There is a large, flat car park that is in excellent condition, well-marked out and making good use of a one way system. The good vibes continue, with a spacious lobby entrance leading, via double doors, to an impressive Reception. There were two staff on Reception, and both were ready to respond to guests and customers. We were directed to our left, which led to a comfortable lounge style dining room adjacent to a good sized bar. The informal style menu is printed on a large card – well laid out and clearly priced. We choose a pot of tea and a main course of steak in Guinness pie. The pot of tea arrived in reasonable time, with the food taking much longer ….. but not surprising given what was served. The pot of tea etc. was well presented and we enjoyed it. We would have liked to have been offered a choice of tea but what was served was okay. The food was very good. The side plate of veg was excellent, the suitably sized blob of mash was appropriate for a “pie” meal, and the pie consisted of a dish containing a surprisingly large quantity of steak pieces that had clearly met some Guinness in the cooking process. Sat aloft, an inch or so above the rim of the far from small dish, was a beret of flaky pastry resting on top of the meat. We think that many would struggle to eat the excessive quantity of steak served, and there was no chance that we would pursue a dessert afterwards. The quality was fine, but we think that reducing the price of the meal by a little, and reducing the quantity of steak by considerably more, would give a much better balance. However, we happily acknowledge that although it was mid-afternoon when many hotels are in quiet mode, the Mount Pleasant had a steady flow of customers in the dining area (and there were plenty of cars in the car park) so they are pleasing many customers! Before leaving, we had a wander around the public areas and the overall setup clearly proclaims its potential as a conference/wedding venue, and there are some clear photo opportunities outside. The establishment is noticeably clean, bright yet traditional in style, comfortable (we saw a very inviting lounge at the other side of the main building), and all the staffs we interacted with were pleasant and able.

Stay for a business meeting last year. Very beautiful hotel in great grounds. The staff are great and the food and drink are excellent. The room are outstanding with a great night sleep as well. Great breakfast to start the day of with too.

What a find!!.......amazing hotel with fantastic rooms, facilities, staff and set in the most beautiful picturesque landscape. Brilliant location for the racecourse which is just a short taxi ride away. Food was fab. While we were there we found out that they do PJ Parties, so we will be planning a girlie weekend to include the races. So much more to this hotel.....fantastic 5* Highly recommended

What can I say I've stayed here before and when you think it could not get better ! Price affordable Room outstanding Service up there with the best Cleanliness remarkable Food really good Room service fast and efficient Now don't get me wrong this hotel had small faults for a 4* like hair dryer broken' walls are paper thin crockery was dirty and breakfast plates was cold ! But after I mentioned these things the staff was apologetic to me and with priority was rectified I must say guys this is an outstanding place to visit

My wife and myself stayed at the BW Premier mount pleasant hotel for the weekend 22/4/16 to 24/4/16 as we were going to the races. Brilliant hotel very clean beautiful grounds and very friendly excellent staff food was amazing would stay here again

We just popped in for an evening meal. food and service fast efficient lots of staff about and there almost immediately when food was finished or drinks were needed excellent, surroundings and general ambience very good. not cheap count on about £40 per head, but well worth it.

We dined in this hotel probably 20 years ago but never stayed there! Couldn't fault the hotel. Very nice staff, good food at breakfast and at the wedding reception. Beer was a tad expensive. Our bedroom was super - cosy, large bathroom, comfortable seating and a lovely four poster bed. Although the hotel is beside a busy road, road noise was not an issue, and there are lovely grounds surrounding the hotel. Bar and lounge areas are spacious and comfortable. We did not sample dining in the restaurant.

Superb. Rooms were very large with beautiful beds. The bathrooms are also large. Everything is high quality. The food was really good and the staff were so helpful .... nothing was too much trouble ti be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back

This was a fantastic hotel. Even though it was very near to a main road it was very quiet. The cleanliness of this hotel was absolutely spotless throughout. The staff were extremely professional yet friendly. Will definitely recommend friends and family to stay there if ever they find themselves in South Yorkshire.

This hotel is handy for Doncaster and the airport and now there is a new link directly to the motorway avoiding the city it's a great place to have your meeting. There are a number of characterful meeting rooms and the staff are very attentive. Loads of parking, great restaurant and the public toilet is ever so posh.

Have spent 4 weeks so far in the self catering cottages which are located close to the hotel. Had to move out of our home whilst it under goes repair. Cottage is fully equipped with everything you may need. Home away from home. Very clean and comfortable. House keeper attends each week for a general clean, bed and towel change. All staff at hotel are friendly, helpful and professional. Had an issue with the boiler one sunday morning, a staff member attended within 10 minutes of reporting the problem and resolved it within minutes of arriving. Only one downside really and that is the paper thin walls between the properties. A little embarassing when you can hear every word from your neighbours during the night.

I have been coming here for a number of years when I visit my family. The food is always very nice, the service friendly and efficient. Whether eating in the light and airy lounge or the more formal restaurant we always enjoy our visit.

Having been to this hotel numerous times for afternoon tea and lunch and dinner my partner booked it for my birthday and Valentines. We had one of the spa bedrooms which although small for the money was nice. The spa bathroom was indeed lovely but the room really wasn't large enough to make an extra lounge. It becomes wasted space that you simply don't use. The meal was extremely disappointing. Overall it felt like minimum effort for maximum profit on the food which was a real let down as meals here have been good in the past. Won't book overnight again

My friend and i went to mount pleasant on the espa experience and was not disappointed, We had a 3 course meal, overnight stay, full english breakfast and then 1 hour spa treat. The food was amazing and the staff couldnt do enough for you, The room was very spacous and very clean. I would recommend trying the hotel weather its for the espa or just for a nice get-away and you will not be disappointed.

A large hotel , in pretty grounds. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and decorated in a traditional style with large pieces of furniture and 2 double beds. The bathroom was huge too, had a bath and separate shower and again really clean. Dinner in the evening was served in a lovely restaurant overlooking the gardens, service was quite slow to start with but the food was of a decent quality , it was quite expensive, not perfect but on the whole very nice . There was a choice of continental or full English breakfast, both self service and very tasty . Although the hotel was fully booked and there were several functions taking place, the hotel didn't feel overcrowded or too busy, there was still a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere . Staff were all friendly and efficient and we would definitely stay here again.

I booked my local hotel for my mums 70th birthday for an afternoon tea and I cannot thank the staff enough for their hospitality and willingness to meet our every need. The tea itself was wonderful, the venue was exquisite as always and the staff in the restaurant were amazing particularly Mike Hill . Everything we asked for was not too much to ask and we were allowed to enjoy this special occasion without any other interruptions even though we were in the main restaurant . Many thanks for making my mums birthday a memorable experience.

We stayed the night at this hotel. The room was very spacious with a good sized bed, the sofa made it feel more like a small apartment. We had an evening meal which was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. Worth stopping over if you have an early start from Robin Hood airport as it is close by. All the staff were very friendly and helpful

Visited for afternoon tea as a birthday treat and was totally underwhelmed by the whole experience. Basic everyday run of the mill white cups, weak tasteless tea and a very unappetising cake stand with dry open sandwiches, scones and cakes. I will not be repeating the experience.

My husband and I stayed her for one night while travelling. The hotel is huge. We were upgraded to s audited which was spacious, clean and warm. Had dinner in the bar. The food was delicious" service excellent. Breakfast was tasty but a little slow to come out of the kitchen. All in all we had a pleasant stay

The Mount Pleasant is more a countryside than a city hotel and is situated a few miles outside Doncaster. Robin Hood Airport is a short, simple drive away which was useful for my work while in the UK. The hotel is set within large and beautiful grounds and has a very pleasant, almost secluded ambience. My room was comfortable, huge and nicely furnished. I particularly liked the size of the room as it always felt bright and airy. Bathroom was gigantic too. I enjoyed all the food I tried (the Daily Roast being a particular favorite) during my stay and the restaurant staff were always helpful and friendly, as were all the other hotel staff I encountered. I would stay here again, no doubt.

We stayed for one night as a treat and we felt like Royalty. The staff are so helpful, polite and professional, they can't do enough for you. We stayed in the Sanctuary Suite and the room was amazing!!!! Thank you to all at the hotel, 100% recommend

Would prefer to give it 2.5 but the hotel did just enough to push it over 50%. The hotel itself, the amenities, the staff and especially the quality of the food cannot be faulted for what was needed. However staying in room 215 was a real disappointment and it's probably easier to list the reasons; 1. The room is practically a black spot for phone signal. 2. The generally good wifi around the hotel doesn't seem to reach the room unless you stand by the door. 3. The room is the closest room in the hotel to the busy main road outside, and although secondary glazing has been installed it doesn't stop the noise from the lorries thundering past outside coming through the trickle vent in the bath (which to be fair is pretty amazing with the great big walk in shower). Just keep the door shut to minimise noise. 4. If you are unlucky enough to be staying on a morning when the drayman arrives to deliver the beer don't expect a lie in. 6:45 I was woken as the cellar door is right underneath the bedroom window. 5. The room is above the bar area, and again if you are unlucky enough to stay during the annual 'Obnoxious Salesman of the year award', which seemed to be happening underneath me then don't expect any sleep before midnight. I would at this point to reiterate the point that I WOULD stay at this hotel again but make a point of staying away from room 215 as a colleague of mine stayed in a different room and has nothing at all the complain about. Such a shame that my experience was let down by room 215.

We used this hotel on the occasion of our sons wedding on a March 19th 2016. I cannot fault the approach of the staff during the course of a truly momentous day. Nothing was too much trouble .David Rowley fronted a very efficient and friendly team aided by Sophie and Lauren throughout the day. The Wedding service was well organised and the Reception room was second to none both in ambience and presentation. The hotel has been extensively re-furbished is both well laid out and spacious. Our room, while being on a special wedding rate, was superb and well worth the £100 for the night. Many of the guests remarked on the standard of their rooms. The food throughout day was high quality, well presented. The breakfast the following day was Buffet style with a good choice. For any couple wishing to arrange a high quality, memorable Wedding day, I suggest they leave it to the staff at Mount Pleasant to create an experience they will remember with affection.

Firstly, the niggles (though this is a nice hotel so keep reading please)I booked this a a last minute getaway, my first disappointment was probably my fault though the web site did confuse me. I was hoping for some sauna/spa/pool facilities, but what I didn't realise was that only applies to the actual spa rooms. If you have not booked a Spa suite, then there are no facilities of any sort for you, which at £273 for 2 nights B&B is a lot more than some other 4 star places offering more facilities. My only other niggle was the fact the breakfast on the second day was not comparable to the previous day, I am assuming because they had a large party in the night before, however, that should not be an excuse (especially when the 2nd night cost me more than the first) The first mornings breakfast was a "to order" menu here we choose the salmon and scrambled eggs, and they were wonderful. The second day was a buffet and no "ther menu" was offered at all, and the quality of the food was not as good as the previous day (though wasn't bad, just "OK"). OK, so why still 4 stars? Well the hotel is lovely and spacious, the staff are wonderfully attentive and helpful, from the front desk staff all the way down to the chamber maids. For a couple who wanted a chilled break, the hotel offers several lovely lounge areas to relax in and also be served lunch/food in there as well. Our room was an executive suite and was extremely large with a lovely large bed and large spacious area with a sofa for watching the large screen flat screen TV. Th TV was modern and had all the modern connections, allowing us to hook up our devices to the tv to watch streamed movies in comfort. The hotel Wifi is fast, free and reliable, we were able to stream HD content from our home media server via the laptop to the TV. The food - have already covered breakfast, but just to summarise, was nice, but only what I would expect from a hotel of this standard, nothing to set it above any similar hotels. The same applied to the dinner we had in the restaurant. A limited menu, but nice, but again, nothing to set it apart. We did have an afternoon tea in one of the lounges and I have to say that was very good and was a cut above expectations, nice variety, generous portions and lovely surroundings. The hotel says a lot about its Spa suites and I have to say they look amazing, but as mentioned be aware if you don't have one of these, there are no other facilities of this type available. Likewise, the treatment centre needs booking a long way in advance, so don't expect to get in here if you book at the last minute. Bearing in mind we stayed 1st and 2nd April, we were told the whole of the month was fully booked. I did love this hotel, it was just expensive for what we got. We plan to come back later in the year, booking one of the Spa suites. So my summary is if you can get a good price and know what you are getting for the money, I recommend this hotel

We recently attended a wedding and stayed overnight bed and breakfast . The car park is big so no problem finding a space. The reception area is welcoming and spacious. Initial drinks at the bar were expensive but normal for a wedding venue hotel. The wedding room and dining room were again of a good size and comfortable. The food and service were very good. We booked a standard double room. However ,whether by mistake or because they were very full, we were allocated the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. There were 2 double beds, a large settee and bathroom with both a bath and separate shower. Everything was beautifully clean. Breakfast was buffet style but I couldn't fault it. All in all I would recommend the place for wedding and overnight stay

We use this hotel for our Academy on a regular basis and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The facilities are fantastic as well as the staff. The night porter sets up our room and is always keen to please - getting the room set up to exactly how we like. very good Hotel with excellent staff and facilities. got a free upgrade on the room as well. room was huge, Bathroom very clean and modern. If I have one slight gripe it would be the bed. Good size but very soft with big dip in the middle. Would certainly stay again when up in the area

Room is great. Service good. But when I sent the rib eye steak back for being tough as old boots and being given a fillet steak in its place which was better, I thought not bad. I had ordered a bottle of Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon at £16.95 and when it came to settle the bill I had been charged for a Shiraz at £24.95. Are they trying to make up for the steak upgrade. Not impressed.

Stayed here while on business. Little bit out out of the way. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Great choices at breakfast, service was excellent served by superb staff. Good wine list. Rooms were clean and very well appointed. Hotel has a nice aspect and lovely grounds.

stayed in the laconium spa room for our birthdays in february and having stayed all over the world its incredible that this superb hotel is actually 15 minutes down the road the room and the hotel are magical. will return every year from now on

We were upgraded on arrival, which was a very nice surprise. Room 174 ,what can I say! The room was large , beautifully furnished. The bed was something else, excellent, what comfort. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the evening. All the staff were very charming polite and friendly attending to your every need. Would recommend this Hotel to everyone who would enjoy being treated to something very special. There was a wedding party going on but that did not spoil our smashing evening in any way. Shall treat ourselves to another visit sometime in the future.

Weekend away and not disappointed. Got free upgrade (don't know why but thanks) for junior suite which had 4 poster bed and Jacuzzi bath - yes! In fact, bathroom lovely. Room was very big but needed a bit of tlc. Will be back.

Had this hotel chosen by the Vulcan Trust as we were invited to view the last flying Avro Vulcan The hotel is great, clean,tidy and well maintained. The staff were very helpfull especially the people who served the bar food. The only problem is that on both night there were events on. The noise finished at one in the morning on the first night and three in the morning on the Saturday night. I would recommend the hotel to anyone just make sure that you get a room away from the bar

from the moment I pulled into the hotel car park it shouted luxury. The room I had was just under £90.00 with breakfast but what a room - it was bigger than the whole of my house! massive bed with 6 pillows, shower and a bath,, an abundance of toiletries desk, Wi-Fi and wired internet, sofa, large screen TV, robes and slippers . . just a shame I was stopping on business. Cheaper than a Premier Inn and worth 100 times more

Overnighted here with daughter and son in law on a visit for a nearby funeral of family friend. Sad occasion softened by our experience here. Well organised and catered for funeral tea, We later had our evening meal in the restaurant - wife had catch of the day - lemon sole which she said was delectable, son in law was very happy with battered cod and daughter and I had roast pork - she was very happy with hers - me less so as my pork was chewy and very fatty and my veg were very hard. However, well presented and attentively served by lovely staff. Breakfast next morning was excellent cooked to order and again lovely staff. We found our rooms had been upgraded when we booked in - ours to 2x king size beds, sitting area, massive modern bathroom with shower and a bath and two washbasins - immaculate and spotlessly clean Daughter and son in law to similar room next door. All on ground floor which was good for my wife whose Parkinson's does not do stairs easily. Both rooms looked out to central well - so no views - but both were incredibly quiet - no traffic noise and no room or corridor doors banging in the night - so we all slept very well in very comfortable beds. A lovely hotel - warm friendly and inviting, well run and maintained and lovely staff. - a non slip mat for shower was provide immediately when asked for - just a small suggestion - the superb bathroom in 179 needs a handrail in shower and a rack/shelf for soap/shower gel etc for both shower and bath!!

Booked to stay here after my works Christmas night in nearby Bawtry, given the late notice if my booking and the cost of the room I wasn't expecting much how wrong was I! The room was lovely and very clean, well presented and organised given its odd shape (funny little corner space used for a bureau and dresser)! The bathroom was really really high standard and amazing shower which washed my hair really well (this is rare in a hotel they normally don't have the power) I will without a doubt stay here again and make more of my stay, would recommend to anyone should meet all needs !

My husband and I have just spent a pleasant weekend at the Mount Pleasant whilst travelling to Doncaster for a family party. We were given a free room upgrade to a large room on the ground floor. The room had a nice bed, with a choice of pillows and plenty of storage with a big, moveable TV. The bathroom was nice with a large bath and separate shower. The only room issue was that we found a pair of pants in the wardrobe and food debris under the sofa, otherwise the whole hotel was clean and in good repair. The breakfast was good and had lots of choice, at the weekend it is self service but table service in the week. The evening food was good and we were full after 2 courses but the menu was a bit limited. It is the same price to eat in the bar or restaurant. There is a nice seating area with a fireplace and lots of smaller rooms to sit for tea or a snack. The service overall was exceptional by all the staff . Although the ground were small they are very pretty and well maintained, only ruined by the close vicinity of the road. We did wish that there had been a swimming pool but there is a spa/ beauty salon. We purchased some handmade chocolate lollies to take home to friends. The function and celebration facilities also look good. We would hope to return for another visit next time we are in the area, overall well worth a visit.

couldn't have found a better hotel so close to the business reason for my visit. Friendly people, fantastic old interiors, huge bedrooms particularly the suites, location and grounds superb although a long weekend to walk them with the wife would be good. Love the little snug lounges for a drink and chat. Great Place to stay

Cannot fault the hotel apart from the bed. We booked a double room and when we arrived at the hotel we were given room 135. The room was nicely decorated and spacious but when it came to actually getting into the bed, words cannot describe. On closer inspection we found that 2 single beds had been pushed together and as one of the mattresses was higher than the other it created a drop in the middle of the bed.

Costing over £500 for 14x adults for a 2x course meal - not worth it! The roasts are so small and don't even include a Yorkshire pud or roast potatoes. The pies are pathetic, a ramekin of stew with a pastry lid, 1x table spoon of mash and one large carrot, that's it for £16. It was Luke warm, Pretty poor and we were left hungry. No waitress came to check if the food was ok. When asking if the pudding came with anything, the blunt waitress responded 'no it's saucy enough', then it arrived with cold custard. They have no idea what they are doing. The hotel itself is beautiful and I've heard great things about the spa packages. As for the resturant, never again. It really does think it's something it's not. You def better off going to a local pub.

We have stayed in the Thermae Suite, Sanctuary Spa Suite and the Caldaria Suite. The Thermae room was fab, great value for money, the sauna in the room was Brill. The Sanctuary Suite was lovely but I preferred the sauna in the thermae suite as it was tiny in the Sanctuary room. The Caldaria Suite I honestly cannot rate highly enough, the bed is huge, the room is huge, the spa facilities in the room are outstanding! The jacuzzi bath, steam room, sauna with shower, wet room and TV facing the bath just set the perfect scene to relax. Definitely book late check out, the rooms just aren't worth it without, early check in and late check out together for me is desirable, wouldn't book without late check out. The rooms are impeccably clean too. We always have breakfast in the room which we have never had any problems with and Brian the waiter is unbelievably helpful. Cannot wait to try the Laconium suite! Perfect for birthdays and anniversarys or any excuse to enjoy a good relax in your own personal spa.

Fantastic facial at the hotel beauty salon today. Therapist Danielle was very professional and did a wonderful job, will be booking to return. Lovely clean facilities and relaxing environment. Would highly recommend a treatment here for a special occasion, I visited with my mum and had a lovely afternoon...

So hubby and I have previously stayed at this hotel and were looking for an excuse to return. With our 6th wedding anniversary looming I looked on the website to see what they had available. Decided on the Bronze package in the Thermae suite and paid the extra for early checkin. First impression of this suite was WOW!!! The bathroom is absolutely amazing especially the glass bath. The sauna is wonderful as is the double size shower. The bedroom is certainly luxurious. In fact the whole setting was just perfect for a celebration like ours. We even decided that, as bathrobes were provided, we would treat ourselves to a meal from room service rather than waste time out of the suite!! I have to say the staff at this hotel really are the most helpful, from the young lady on reception at check-in (dark hair, glasses, possibly called Nicky??) to the 2 young men from room service who very patiently showed Mr Jax how to operate the sauna then later delivered our evening meal. The basket of fruit and free bag of spa products was a lovely bonus. Having checked out the other spa suites and signature spa suites I think I can safely say my wedding anniversaries for the next 5 years are sorted, thanks Mount Pleasant!!!

Stayed one night last week as attending a funeral nearby. Have not visited in a year and our room appeared to have been refurbished. Fresh and modern decor. A huge king sized bed which was very comfy. The bathroom had separate bath and walk in shower. All excellent. The room temperature was perfect with an air unit which you could control. We had dinner here. Very good food and yummy cocktails. Service very slow. Waiting a good 10-15 minutes for drinks to arrive but as we were not in a hurry it didn't matter. The waiter was very attentive but seeing as the restaurant wasn't busy I'm not sure what was causing delays. Breakfast in the morning looked nice but due to the nature of our visit we didn't have an appetite so only had continental which was good. All in all another excellent stay and I'd recommend.

stayed at this hotel twice, the first time was for my wedding, first class service, all our requests were taken care of, a beautiful and perfect setting for our big day. The rooms are fabulous, spacious and high standards of cleanliness, the restaurant/bar have a very good choice, and all our meals were well presented and tasted as good as they looked. well done to all the helpful and friendly staff, looking forward to staying again

I have held several regional meeting at this hotel over the years and my team regularly ask to return. The hotel is lovely, the staff are most attentive and the food ans service is excellent. You won't be disappointed. Looking forward to my next visit.

Paid for the 99pp for two sharing an executive room, 1 hr therapy each , 3 course meal each and breakfast. Room was great, food was okay, service at dinner was poor got some items wrong, but didn't have to pay for two meals. Service at breakfast was painfully slow, but a good spread. Bar prices same as most hotels. Rooms are getting modernised, so some building work going on. Spar very nice and happy staff.
