« Affordable Home Away from Home »

Excellent cozy nicely located hotel with courteous smiling face employees. Great food and lounge bar with beautiful voiced singers . Value for money . Appropriate place to commute within city. Airport pick up service as part of the hotel booking.

« Business standard with a good breakfast »

I have not visited Dhaka more than once, but I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Rooms are like any other western hotels, though some of them tells you clearly that smoking is not prohibited here... Security is good, Wi-fi is good in the lobby, not so good all the time in the rooms. The breakfast is good, and their bar in the 13th floor serves cold beer, wine and whiskey. Sometimes also a nice G&T can be provided. Some rooms have a lot of noise from the trafic - but going to Dhaka hoping to not be distrubed by the traffic is probably impossible.

    « Good hotel »

I visited this hotel on business trip and found it to be a great place to stay in. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Hotel staff are polite and helpful. You can also get some good taste of local Bangladeshi non veg food, especially the fish dishes.

    « Businee Travel »

Stayed in Dhaka 3 times about 12 nights , and Colombo for 3 nights .The room amenities are apt for a business traveller .the food is good and staff are cooperative I would rate this hotel as a good choice for business travel

« Buffet Working Lunch at La Vinci »

Today I had buffet lunch at La Vinci Hotel. It was served to a group of delegates from India and Bangladesh who came together for a meeting on environmental issues. The lunch was very good, with some excellent vegetarian dishes! Salad, palak paneer, mixed vegetables, daal, with naan and rice were just great. So were seafood salad, prawn, and chicken dishes. The caramel pudding was ok as dessert. I didn't try, but the mixed-fruit bowl looked vibrant with diced exotic species. Good lunch in the middle of the meeting.

« Poor room and environment »

I have booked this hotel more then four times for my foreign guests and every single time my guests change to another hotel. Room rent is so high but the environment is not good at all. Rooms are stinky even the corridors are also not very clean. I have visited 2 rooms and it was terrible that $100 I have to pay for this kind of old smelly room even the food in the restaurant are so average but the price is so high but taste are below average. Room- 2/10 Food- 3/10 Price-1/10 *nb- May be the entire hotel is very old but this is a high time to renovate the whole building for the modern hotel.

« excellent staff. great hotel for business visits. »

The hotel was clean and food was great. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful even at middle of the night when we needed a room change. The hotel is located near a market, so it is bit noisy at night. The location is excellent for visiting different areas of the city.

« Cost efficient business hotel in the city centre »

It was my first visit to Dhaka for a business conference. While the property is the centre of the city, its right in the middle of a market area and the commotion leading to the hotel never stops even at 2a.m. The staff is quite helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food here is good but rooms are not as big as they seem on the images posted online.

    « Quality Property »

Excellent property, staff are friendly. Wi-Fi connectivity is good. Easy to access. Restaurant serves Indian and Italian food. Also a nice bar top of the floor. Breakfast is good. The hotel is value for money.

    « Good Hotel »

Location was Good , it is in the center in the Dhaka , Service is good , hotel is very clean staffs are very cooperative and helpful. Food was very testy, price is little high but everything is very nice

« Average hotel near Dhaka city Center »

This hotel is located north from Dhaka city center. It offers an average size room with city view, good breakfast and friendly staff. By the way, this hotel is quite a distance from their major attractions , which is located on the southern part of Dhaka ( Old Dhaka).

« Hotel is good...But Locality is not very pleasing!!! »

The property is ideal for a business trip. The Hotel has decent rooms and average amenities. Breakfast is ok. The restaurant serves good food and has options of Indian, Italian and Mexican cuisines. The food is good enough for a quick lunch or an average dinner. Do not have great expectations!!! This hotel is value for money in a place like Dhaka and is a good choice for a working professional who wish to stay for couple of days in Dhaka city. The only disadvantage of this Hotel is the location. The Hotel is located near a whole-sale vegetable market. You have no choice but to stay in the hotel if you are done with work. There is a lot of chaos in the night as the trucks load and unload goods between 11 pm to 1 am. The fully packed market area during the day makes it difficult for vehicles to reach the hotel at times. If location is very an important criteria to you, then La Vinci is a good pick and you will surely want to stay here a second time..

    « Weird is good »

I've been through this place a number of times in business and although it's not stand-out luxury, it has real character and oddness which is to be cherished in this day and age. The bar on top of the hotel, for instance, where men come to smoke, drink and dance in front of a small stage of lady singers is a wonder to behold... these ladies are really talented and, if you like your Bollywood, this is a great treat; last time I was there, one lady with a lovely voice sang the theme song from the film Veer Zaara, which was just special.. so go and celebrate the uniformed staff, the cricket mementos and the really good mixed-nationality menu, and think yourself lucky that you were once in such a place! O, and the prices are really pretty good too, did I mention that?

« Review for BW La Vinci Hotel »

This is an average hotel for the stay. The rooms are very basic. The washroom is also very basic. Although there are many floors in this hotel but still it has only one restaurant which is also small. The food I must say at the restaurant was very decent. The support staff is ok kind of according to me. Shieul- the manager at the restaurant was good. There is no proper Gym and that is another thing that I do not like.

« Value for Money Stay in Heart of City , Dhaka »

Located in Business area near to biggest Mall - Basundhara Complex . Easy ride to Airport , farm gate , Dhanmondi. Comfortable , neat and clean environment. Well behaved employees. Good food ... Enjoy evening with nice live songs by beautiful singers . Bar facility .

    « Business Trip »

I stayed for a night and this was a business trip to Dhaka. The room was neat and clean, simply decorated with urban theme, very comfortable bed, large bathroom and lots of storage space. The room was private and had comfortable chairs. The mini bar had cool drinks always on hand. All meals were good, although not a large selection. Indian menu in the restaurant is really good.

    « Nice Stay »

Good Hotel. In the middle of the city. Very friendly staff. Very good food. Rooms are cosy. Internet is fast and smooth. The hotel has a booth on the airport. Their transport service is also good. There is a decent bar at the rooftop and there is local musicians playing good music.

« For a city like Dhaka, it had some good points too »

La Vinchi Hotel is situated on a rather busy road as others have written, with vegetable markets on both sides. A jam on the road outside can take anything from 45 minutes to an hour to clear. However, there are a few positives: It has close proximity to the airport, which means that there are fewer chances of missing your flight should something happen. second, the hotel has a gym and spa on the top which is quite cute and well priced. Third, the food (specially vegetarian as I am one) is really really good. I cannot say that about many places in Bangladesh. The housekeeping is prompt, rooms are okay - not too great but SAFE, which is very important for travelers in Dhaka. The breakfast for the price is good, and they serve with respect.

    « Nothing great »

The hotel is situated quiet bad, a busy main road on one side and fruits, vegetables and NonVeg wholesale market on other 3....... You step out the hotel and you get stuck in bad traffic..... Be ready to listen to trucks and honks all night as the wholesale market works 24*7...... As far as hotel is concerned, staff is good and friendly, however the rooms are not that comfy beds will be a spoiler if you are planning a long stay..... Rest taking into consideration it's a 3 star hotel it lives to its reputation.....

    « Noisy, but friendly »

The noise from the traffic and the busy marked next door may ruin your sleep, but besides from that, the hotel was ok. The employees were friendly, helpful and service minded. The room was clean, with well working air condition, wifi and hot water. The restaurant at the 12th floor was good, breakfast was average. There is also a simple bar at the top floor, sometimes with live local music. I got a surprise when I tried to enter a wrong room, and my key worked for that door as well(!). But the manager assured me that they would fix this security issue. Front desk will arrange transportation to the airport at any time for around 30 USD.

    « Not Bad »

This Hotel situated In a busy place centre of Dhaka City at Kawran Bazar. From where every Business Place is nearby. For the foreign travelers who are need a budget hotel they can go for it. They have a good resturant also But they don't have parking & the place is a bit crowd.

« Warning! Avoid this Hotel »

Staff are RUDE, they don't really help you to solve problem, for example wifi is not connect for 2 days and keep telling me to wait, if can not wait just go buy a sim card as sim card is cheap in their country. WTF?? Surrounding the hotel is horrible and dangerous area, Many local people want to take advantage or you and I witness a asian yellow skin girl was seduce verbally and physically. and I call hotel staff to help and they said is not their business. Room is dirty, request to change room at least 3 times can't have good sleep in a dusty and smelly room, it just not a international hotel. It make my trip in Dhaka the worst experiences and ruin my trip. Never go back this hotel again!

« negative value for money, nothing good about it... »

on business, one wouldn't like to stay inside the lanes of a busy market. noise from market and the streets get into the bedroom as well. for 110 USD, it's just a rip-off. wifi was not fast. food was terrible and less i talk of staff at the reception, the better.

« Best stay destination at Dhaka »

It is very good hotel, all services are up to the mark. Room service, dinning, food quality everything is good. 24 hours room services are there. They are maintaining very good services for guest always.

« Average Hotel, Highly priced »

Found the Hotel from Stayed for 2 Nights. Average Business hotel, but priced too high. We were 2 male , stayed for 2 nights in 2 single room, which charged approx USD 100 with tax after corporate discount.

« Good for business but away from the main city hot spots »

As can be expected from any best western property, the rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is professional and honestly a little curt, they could do with some training on handling guests. Location wise it's good if you have work with any of the banks since its located near the banking district of Dhaka but is far from Gulshan, the main hot spot of the city.

« DECENT hotel for short visit »

Best western claims to be the part of biggest hotel chain in world. Dhaka they have long tower of 12 floors. rooms are decent, small wash room area. no switch boards in room (only one). Ac's are sourced from Museums or from grandpa's store. staff is good, english speaking. Facilities are not much matching 4 or 5 starch hotel category. for business visit it is Good value for money for short visit.

« Excellent place to stay »

Hotel is comfortable but there hospitality is beyond comparison. They way they treat you and serve you is beyond imagination. Staying at this hotel is a delight due to there hospitality. Special thing to eat is potato tomato curry with zera rice. Khulcha preparation is also great. Only bad thing is they don't serve authentic bangla food .

« Nice Stay at Dhaka »

Very good hotel at Dhaka, Bangladesh. Room, dinning, all the services are as per international standard. But still improvement needed like room service, House keeping. They should be more and more professional.

« Nice rooms... great service! »

I had a pleasant 5 days stay. Very hospitable service team all over the hotel. Makes you feel at home. It is the 6 hours at late night and early morning that does need a real look into!! Maybe double windows to make it more sound proof.... The treadmill at the Health club/Gym needs a thorough service.

« this is my business trip »

All is well for all staff & management also because First of all the security is the best , Complimentery breakfast is excellent & live counter is very good. Bed is super, From airport pick up inside the man supereb & driver is very gentle & very good.

« Nice Location and Fooding »

The hotel is situated at the centre location. The hotel rooms are neat and clean and the food is really good. I wanted veg indian food and they were very good at it. The hotel as proper bar and room attendants are also very good.

« Oasis in busy market »

This hotel is situated in the heart of the teeming and 24 hour Karwan Bazar with all the noise, smells and bustle that can alarm those not used to this megacity. Don't be put off, The La Vinci is a safe and clean haven right in the heart of the market. It is good for business travelers on a budget and you will be made to feel welcome with typical smiling bangla service. It has a restaurant with a good choice of local and international food and a noisy and smokey bar with live entertainment on the 13th floor. Free wifi worked reasonably well and they will arrange airport transfers. While not a 5 star establishment it is an excellent choice if you want a business hotel on a budget. Location is very good if you need a city base over the airport or Gulshan areas.

    « Very Convenient location »

I have been staying here for last 5 years. The Team of Staff is extremely friendly and cooperative. If they can do some up gradation of the washroom it would be very good. Its in very Convenient location.

« Not bad for Dhaka - ratchet down your expectations »

I was not paying for this hotel, but I suspect it was in the medium to expensive range. It is somewhat oddly arranged, being on the sixth floor upwards of an apartment/office building, but the rooms were relatively clean, the staff helpful, and the breakfast not that bad (except the coffee and tea which were both undrinkable). There is a bar at the top of the hotel. Would I stay again? probably, as I know what to expect. It is noisy, located as it is above an all night vegetable market, but this adds some colour to the place (so long as you have ear plugs).

« Noisy, Dingy and Bad Hotel »

Book this hotel if you want 24x7 noise of generator exhaust, truck honking, chaotic streets of Kawran Bazar, non English speaking staff, terrible food, sinking rooms (including bathrooms), improper air conditioning and improper water heating.

« Another great stat stay »

Stayed in this hotel another time just 2 weeks ago.The only minor snag i have is that it took 2 days of complaining that the aircon was not cooling, only producing wind. Finally the engineer acknowledged the thing was broken and i could move to another room. Food as good as always, service impeccable, friendly people, perfect airport pick up.. Will be back soon....

« Great friendly staff can improve as a business hotel »

Very friendly staff. But then in Bangladesh people in the service industry are very helpful. I had read all the reviews and was worried about the noise but I actually got upgraded to a suite on the top floor. A few things: 1) The internet was terribly slow . In fact it never worked in my room . So I used to do my mail in the restaurant 2) I booked a pick up but never heard from the hotel. when I reached the hotel at midnight I was told that a car was waiting for me at the airport 3) As other reviewers have noted, the noise from the road is very loud 4) booking the hotel car is expensive .

« Good place to stay »

The room was spacious, can accommodate minimum of 2 persons and a maximum of 4 persons. The hotel personnel are accommodating and they always greet you upon seeing you in the lobby or the front desk. There is always a complimentary water (i believe it is 1 or 1.5 liters) everyday. Importantly, it is very near the venue of our international convention, the Pan Pacific Sonargaon.

    « Location matters in Dhaka ! »

Dhaka being a city with extremely chaotic traffic, (lot of cycle rickshaws & autos) location matters ! We wanted to be in the heart of the city and this was walking distance away from a key location for us. You can get stuck in traffic for hours otherwise in this city. In Mumbai parlance, I would call this area the Dadar of Dhaka. It's central & therefore all the positives & negatives associated with such a location will obviously be unavoidable (traffic, vegetable market etc). Therefore, complaining about it makes no sense if you choose to stay in such a location. The hotel otherwise was comfortable & had all the amenities of a business hotel. The free wifi was good. My room did not have an electric kettle but I was provided with one when I asked for it ! No complaints on service or food either. The breakfast spread was fine too. However, on the day of the bandh/hartal, which are common in Bangladesh, we realized that we were in a sensitive locality. On that day, we surely would have felt safer in areas like Gulshan !

    « Except For Location »

This is my first hotel in Dhaka and I had researched TA extensively. So I avoided the noise from the night club, the main road, the vegetable wet market and the adjacent on-going construction by specifying the type of room wanted in advance. I make sure this is informed at the time of booking. The room is basic and the toilet/shower bare. Once you get out of the hotel you get the stench of horrid air (rotting vegetable/meat smell?) with swarms of houseflies. I suspect IHG/HI tried its best to manage the hotel; whether further enhancement can be done depends on the owner. I chose this hotel purely to clock in my points for the IHG Reward Club. Breakfast is minimalist. Staff and especially the door men tried their best to serve. Location is central and public transport such as tuk tuk and taxis are readily available at the doorstep. The traffic condition outside can be horrendous with almost no one observing fundamental traffic rules. Stayed here for 4 days. Be forewarned there is no such thing as empowerment in Bangladesh, Thus any out-of-the-norm request will go up and down the hierarchy.

« Best Chicken Chilli in all of Dhaka ! »

I mainly go to the La Vinci hotel for the food as their La Villa restaurant serves some of the best food in Dhaka. Mr. Monir is a good F&B manager and awlays very hospitable. The staff are also very welcoming but some of them needs to understand the warmth that should be included within hospitality. Like I stated in my title Best Western La Vinci serves the best chicken chili, I live in the UK and I have never had chicken chili such as this! Overall La Vinci has nice rooms with reasonable prices is a decent hotel.

« Official visit of one week »

Hotel is awesome with good food. They should also start serving good fried fish and local delicacy. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. If they make there gym bigger it would become an even better place.

    « Damn noisy »

If you are sensitive to noise, please don't select this hotel. It is right next to airport road and huge local vegetable market. Besides there is roof top bar which plays loud music until midnight. You will hear honking noise all night long even 2-5 am. Also room isn't clean. Not worthy of $99.

« Nice hotel for a short visit. »

Ever since I booked this hotel, I found people very very helpful. Prompt reply to mails, all queries resolved on line. A representative was there to receive us at the airport. Good Hotel. Good Food. Courteous people. Though the rooms are a bit small but they are very clean and hygienic.

« a Business Hotel in the Heart of city »

This Budget hotel is in the Business Hub of the city, located in a convinient place so that you can move anywhere easily, its a business hotel with all facilities. Nicely decorated, foods are very delicious. You can easily choose this hotel for a better stay in side the Dhaka city

« Staff are not capable »

Staff need to train up about hospitality and hotel management. They should be knowing also good manner instead of misbehave to the guest. If we do not see the backside kitchen markets location wise it is very good.

« Fine if you havo no need to sleep »

This place has nothing to do with Best Western hotel standards, hardly with western standards, and nothing at all to do with Italy, apart from the (misspelled) name. Windows have one single glass, hence, the crazy noise from the street, uninterrupted throughout the night, keeps you awake, thinking about the motorization of third world and its effects. Breakfast is maybe fine if you are bangladeshi or indian but is null if you are a westener. Basics like bread and jam are almost uneatable. I didn't try restaurant on order, but dinner buffet was extremely spicy (even chicken broth) so maybe it was good but I couldn't tell having my palate totally anaesthetized. Room moquette floor looks dirty and stinks. One bedside lamp wasn't working so I looked for the plug to check if it was maybe unlugged: behind the bed a tangle of wires badly connected with rubber tape made me forget about it, push the bed back against the wall and turn to the other side where lamp was working. The rest is ok. To sinthesize: no sleep and no food. Staff very kind though. Price high for the value. Location undetermined (center?, suburbs? in Dhaka impossible to tell) but on main heavvy trafficked road. Single glass windows lets crazy horning noise in and you don't sleep. Andate altrove. Niente a che fare con l'Italia come si evince dal nome. Impossibile dormire e anche mangiare..

« good economucal business hotel »

Main Bazar Location, Rooms are comfortable and the AC works well. The restaurant upstairs is always open with a good menu - but much more limited in selection . This is a good 3+ star hotel in Dhaka and a much better value than the so called 5 star hotels. Staff is friendly. overall good

« Nice hotel, with very friendly staff »

I have stayed for a few nights at the hotel. Room was clean and sufficiently silent considering the crowded street and market right out of the hotel. The look of hotel would need some renovation to meet the 4* standards. I found very gentle staff who agreed on some extra effort for me to let me stay a little longer than standard check out time so i could get changed before my trip back to EU.

    « Very poor service »

I stayed a couple of days in this hotel. The service was very poor, especially in the restaurant in the 12th floor. The room smelled a lot and appeared to be dirty. There are better places in Dhaka for the same price than BW La Vinci Hotel. I will not book again. Andreas Dernbach

« Quite, clean business hotel »

This review is for the La Villa hotel which is a sister to the La Vinci hotel - but is about a 40 minute taxi ride away. The La Villa is located in a secure, quiet neighborhood, not too far from the airport. Rooms are comfortable and the AC works well. The restaurant upstairs is always open with a good menu - but much more limited in selection as compared to the La Vinci. This is a good 3+ star hotel in Dhaka and a much better value than the so called 5 star hotels. Staff is friendly and to some degree is shared with the La Vinci. They went out of their way to be helpful. There is no bar at the hotel nor is there anything to do within walking distance of the hotel

« Do not understand the negative comments from other visitors to this hotel. »

Stayed in this place for the third time with 2 collegues and can only praise staff for their kindness and service.I cut my finger accidentily and was brought band-aides by the waiting staff without asking. Had a few shirts that needed a tailor to fix a few things. It was done by reception staff and returned next day.Asked for my minibar to be stocked by beer and Dietcoke. No problems whatsoever.Food for breakfast is fine and certainly not only vegetarian.Dinner menu is very extensive and very tasty.Tried many dishes and can only compliment the chef in the kitchen.Rooms are fine, cool, clean and sleep quality is excellent.Complaining about price? Where do you find a decent place to stay in a megacity these days for less then 100 dollars???Have no hesitations at all to recommend this hotel to Dakha visitors. Airport pickup is great...on time and cool, clean driver.
