The room was not the room I reserved online. It was dirty it smelled the bathroom was dirty. I reserved a king room and was given a room with two double beds this is not what I reserved. I will not be returning to this location.

"Nice location. "

whileitravel, Florida 22/04/2022

Check in was fast and friendly. The hotel is Central located next to the water. It's quite beautiful. Next to it is Checkers tiki bar which made it really convenient. Several restaurants within walking distance. Tom was a little dated, but clean. Decent size. Lumpy pillows and bed. Good for a night.

"Wow wow wow"

User 15/04/2022

First off Alyssa at the front desk was super friendly and made a terrific impression right off the bat! Our room was close to the pool and the view of the river from thr pool cannot be beat, amazing sunset! Loved all the benches around the water. This was the perfect hotel for us and super convient since we booked a manatee tour that operates out of the hotel. Highly recommend!

"Comfortable rom with good price/value. Friendly, profssional service. Good breakfast"

Mme_X, Wisconsin 14/04/2022

Quick summary: comfortable, quiet room. Good breakfast (except for no half-and-half for coffee.) Friendly, professional service. Nice bayside outdoor pool. On a roadtrip, we stayed in room 2107, with two comfy beds and pillows. There are many amenities we expect from good BW properties: microwave, fridge, coffee/tea maker, iron/board, We especially lied that the fridge has a separate freezer unit for our cooler chillers. Good work desk with ergo chair; chest with 3 drawers; closet is an open rack inteh bath area. Tub/shower combo in the bath is a separate room (with toilet) from the spacious sink area. Shampoo and conditioner provided (no lotion, shower gel.) The tub could use a grab bar. LOVE having a nightlight in the bathroom. HVAC and complimentary wifi work well. Very good housekeeping. There s a nice outdoor pool right on the bay - nice atmosphere. We went elsewhere for dinner and drinks, but there is a restaurant and outdoor bar in walking distance from the hotel: Crackers. Due diligence: the breakfast room needs real half-and-half for coffee, not just non-dairy creamer. There still seems to be a non-operable in-room safe under the sink counter. 'Not a big deal as many in-room safes are disappearing from hotel rooms of this class, but the inoperable remains are still there. Also: the nightstand could use a few more plugs for your devices. Many restaurants, state parks, etc. in the area. We'd be happy to stay here again if in the area.

"The very Best, of the Best Westerns."

User 12/04/2022

I have always had good luck staying with Best Westerns and this time it was amazing. Crystal River Resort has EVERYTHING you could need or want in that area. The hotel was very clean, front desk friendly at check in. They are on the water and the manatee tours go out right behind it. The pool was clean and they use the salty not chemical disinfectant. The grounds were wonderful, the board walk took you along the water front to the restaurant next door that has an outside patio and bar over looking the waterfront. Good live music and lots of smiling faces. The room was clean, good wi fi, and comfortable bed and was just perfect. I will always stay there when I am visiting my family from now on.

User 22/03/2022

The hotel is in a cute little town on the water. A few restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Good free buffet breakfast at the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. I think the rate is very reasonable considering it's water views and access.

"great place to stay"

Armin_2504, Schwarzenegg, Switzerland 14/03/2022

Very friendly personell and the rooms where nice and clean. We got lucky, our room was just next to the pool. Great for our Nice. Near to a lot of great Restaurants. A lot of them in walking distance and the frontdesk of the Hotel has a list of all of them. So its up to you to choose.

""Beautiful and tranquil property""

User 13/03/2022

Everything from start to finish was pleasurable and professional. The staff, amenities, breakfast and room exceeded my expectations. Cindy at the front desk made us feel at home from the second we entered the lobby..

"Manatees and relaxing!"

TerryH566, Ocean City, Maryland 13/03/2022

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Check in was a breeze. The room was spacious and clean. We had a balcony but the pool area was so nice we were there most of the time. The breakfast was good with a nice variety. We were only there two nights to see the manatees but I wish we had stayed longer. The town is cute and the restaurants and shopping was great. We really enjoyed being able to walk right to Crackers. The view and food was perfect. The hotel is old and a bit dated but don't stay anywhere else this hotel is perfect.

"Great location with thin walls and smelly carpet"

4cmeng, Gainesville, Florida 11/03/2022

Great location! Decent price however the hotel really needs to be renovated. The smell of the carpet and the thin walls kept me out and about. I could hear snoring and regular conversations right thru the walls.

"Great Location and Amenities"

karonc752, Nolanville, Texas 26/02/2022

The recreational and hotel amenities here are fantastic. The hotel is close to restaurants and shopping. It's perfect. Until it's not. The room itself is very tired. The rug is dirty and needs to be cleaned or replaced. The sofa bed is uncomfortable to sit on and the bed and pillows aren't close to comfortable. The hotel needs a redecorate badly. The staff is wonderful, they keep the grounds super clean and are very accommodating. We also had “neighbors “ who insisted on hanging all their scuba gear and towels on their room railing and ours. I don't believe they rented our space. I would stay again but I would hope they update soon.

Jubillie, Iowa 03/02/2022

With the difficulty of finding help these days I have lowered my expectations for hotels. This however, was inexcusable. First of all, the pictures are the website are misleading. The main building is beautiful but that's not where the rooms are. There are 3 old, unmarked two story buildings located in back of the new structure. It was dark when we arrived so it was very difficult to find our room due to poor signage and lighting. Our room was on the second floor. If you have trouble navigating stairs ask for a first story room because there are no elevators and the steps are narrow and poorly lit. Our room wasn't clean (fecal matter still on the toilet) and it smelled awful. We sprayed the HVAC system with Lysol but that didn't really help so we finally shut off the heat and slept with the balcony door open even though it was in the 40s. The room looked like it needed to be vacuumed and the dust was thick on the lamps. We definitely left the room cleaner than we found it. The bed and shower were okay. We did not use the outdoor area or our balcony because there was no light. We also didn't try the breakfast although I didn't see anyone in there when we checked out at 6:30. We did not share our complaints with the staff because they neither the evening or morning person seemed too interested, they just wanted to get the paperwork done and get us on our way.

"Super Nice Staff"

User 30/01/2022

My wife and I came down for her 50th birthday and when Cindy and Alissa heard that they were extra nice and super accommodating. When I asked if we could change rooms they actually gave us a nice upgrade and they were even apologetic the beds were not exactly like our original setup. They are great! All the rooms are clean and the motel is right beside the water. Quite and relaxing.

"Helpful and courteous staff"

mwalter1, Dadeville, Alabama 21/01/2022

Although we were only there for one night, this hotel met our expectations. It is in a good location. Rooms were clean. The hot breakfast was complimentary. We were comfortable even though the whole place was a bit shabby.

"Very happy!"

User 20/01/2022

Kathy at check in was So patient with us! we had questions and concerns and she was great! Room was clean and looked updated and so comfortable! Nice soft colored walls with surprisingly beautiful artwork. The pool was heated just right!!! Breakfast is included. Thank you!

JnS41, Lawrenceville, Georgia 10/01/2022

Comfortable room, friendly staff, water rentals on site, good restaurants within walking distance, quiet and safe area. Second visit love kayaking and visiting the manatee's, will return; also good hiking trail loops At Hog pond trail.

"Not a good place to stay"

Getaway54817351146, Dobson, North Carolina 01/01/2022

We have stayed here for 10 years.. 1 to 3 times a year. Never again. Can't launch your kayaks or paddleboards from boat ramp. Has not been taken care of..full of 3 to 4 feet of sea grass growing on the ramp. Outside grills don't work anymore and outside eating area with the view of the water has now been replaced with a big building that rents kayaks and boards to the guest. Cant enjoy a waterfront view while eating .

"Great place to stay! Staff, accommodations, pool, were all wonderful!"

everelusiver, Mooresville, North Carolina 24/12/2021

I stayed approximately 10 days and had a most wonderful relaxing time. The beds were comfy and the views from the balcony in the mornings were breath taking. Walking the pier in the early morning or early evening brought many visits from the Manatees. A nice, quiet place to stay in the off season as I prefer it :)

"Not a good experience"

User 23/12/2021

I was really surprised how bad this hotel was because I had high expectations. There was no heat, the coffee maker didn't work, the sink leaked. We had come to do a tour and have our dog it was very disappointed that they wouldn't work with us so my family member ended up not being able to go even though we had traveled to do the tour especially.

"Great Staff, poor room!"

User 20/12/2021

Room was very old and always felt damp. The carpet was disgusting so you didn't want to take off your shoes. Price paid was way too high for what you got. Staff was very polite and helpful. location was good for area.

"Alissa is wonderful."

User 12/12/2021

Checked in on a whim as I was traveling through the great little town of Crystal River and was greeted at the front desk by this wonderful young lady. Very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Thanks Alissa.

"Bad experience"

Q6925QTsandrah, Milwaukie, United States 11/12/2021

Sliding glass door didn't lock. Maintenance repaired but security bar on door had been ripped off. No internet. Called twice and someone came to the room but finally said we were too far away to get internet. Security bar on front door had been ripped off. Toilet ran the whole time. They wouldn't change our room. We were supposed to stay two nights but left after one.

"Great location, nice property, could use some improvements"

mydadlife, Shalimar, Florida 07/12/2021

I really battles with giving this Best Western a 3 or a 4 on my review, overall it was a nice property although it has some age to it. The staff was friendly and accommodating, rooms had clearly been updated in décor, and our particular room had a kitchenette which was very convenient. This property is right on the river and very close to downtown which is also convenient. Breakfast was good, not amazing, but it fit our needs and we enjoyed it. There is a manatee tour company on premise which is amazing, and we took advantage of that as well. Now for the areas that needed improvement...Mattresses were hard and seemed old both on the main bed and the pull out couch. I do not know that they were truly old, but they sure felt like it and they were very uncomfortable. The shower and toilet area in the bathroom was very cramped, not much that the hotel can do about that as it was a pretty standard design issue back in a certain time period for hotels. The floor while vacuumed, needed a deep cleaning, it looked clean, but the bottoms of our feet told a different story. All in all, I liked the property overall but would hesitate going back unless I knew that they had replaced mattresses. The location cannot be beat, and it is clear that they put effort into maintaining the property overall, so I have to give kudos for that. Hopefully new mattresses are coming soon.

"Good location for Crystal River"

K0balT44, Gulf Breeze, Florida 30/11/2021

This hotel is right on the bay. It is a very short walk to the downtown area, maybe 10 min if you are a slow walker. Was close to everything we needed to do. Hotel is good, fairly large with multiple buildings. No real issues except a leftover hotdog in the microwave. Otherwise it was fine. Breakfast was decent, nothing special.

"It was ok, not great. "

User 29/11/2021

We stayed here last night. The hotel looks nice and was clean. There is a free breakfast but we didn't get to participate. The beds were very hard and small. My biggest issue with hotel room was the lack of what we needed in the room. Not enough towels, no sheets for pull out couch and phone in room didn't work so we had to go to the front desk to get what we needed. I did ask a staff member I saw while I was on my way up but he seemed like I was bothered him. I did not care for how the plus were behind the beds and so close to the outlets. That could be a hazard.

"Very comfortable!"

User 18/11/2021

Check in was quick and easy. Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean. Breakfast bar was well stocked and organized. Everything in the room worked (unusual for a hotel any more!) Would highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

"Excellent staff"

User 14/11/2021

The staff at Best Western were extremely friendly and professional. The only drawback was the cleanliness of the hotel, it wasn't very clean. We had cobwebs in our room and the carpet was very dirty. Needs a good thorough cleaning.

DeanP1038, Ogdensburg, New York 13/11/2021

Great staff. Very friendly/always cleaning. Very good breakfast/lots of choices. Heated pool/hot tub. Good location/on the bay. Walking distance to downtown. Crackers next door/great food. Was able to see manatees at the docks next to the Best Western.

"Perfect Location on the Water"

User 12/11/2021

Best Western in Crystal River provides the PERFECT location!! You are located right along the River water and beside the King Bay's walkway. You're able to walk to the beautiful, quaint downtown which is accompanied with all the local shops and seafood restaurants. You can't beat this ideal location with the sweetest staff. Kathy welcomed us with a smile and couldn't have been more accommodating. Bonus: breakfast was the best!!!

"Clean and Quiet!"

User 10/11/2021

The whole staff was accommodating and nice! We enjoyed the hot breakfast, warm pool, hot tub, and laundry service. The location is next to a few restaurants and a manatee tour service and kayak rental.

"Awesome blond Receptionist Name Alissa"

User 04/11/2021

Had a awesome vacation in September. Alissa was awesome person. Got me taken care of every step of the way. Definitely will come back to her awesome passion and patience. Traveling made so easy and fun. Thank you

User 02/11/2021

We have stayed at this hotel in the past when traveling to Pine Island, Florida. We reserved a King Room and most of the room was clean except for the carpeting and couch cushions. The carpeting was black in the foot traffic areas. The couch cushions were stained. I believe the carpeting is due for replacement and perhaps a laminate type flooring should be installed instead.

"a happy place"

User 24/10/2021

The staff was friendly and happy and helpful. Kathy checked me in and gave me all the information I needed to enjoy the city and it's unique places! Everyone we encountered was friendly and happy! I will stay again!

"Best best western On the water in Crystal River was truly an amazing find we enjoyed our stay and helpful staff Kathy"

born2swim7946, St. Petersburg, Florida 02/10/2021

Kathy at the front desk and Hunter at the launch pad exceeded our expectations would highly recommend this hotel!! We had an amazing kayak trip and paddled to Three Sisters Springs! We also swim in the pool with my granddaughter and I was impressed on how clean the pool was as well!

"Clean room & free hot breakfast"

Rachel K, Boston, Massachusetts 27/09/2021

Room was good. Stayed for 1 night to do manatee trip. Couple restaurants and bars within a short walk.. Cute little downtown area.. I picked hotel because I wanted to stay on kings bay. Pool overlooks the bay. Very family friendly. Breakfast set up was great. Kim was very nice & kept everything really clean

"We Truly Enjoyed our Stay!"

lady34744, Kissimmee, Florida 22/09/2021

The staff did everything in their power to make our trip enjoyable. Loved the breakfast! It was kept clean and well stocked. Housekeeping made sure we had ample supplies. I highly recommend the king bedroom with balcony. Great view!

"this was the first and last time I will ever stay at a Best Western"

User 16/09/2021

we asked for a non pet non smoking room, I have severe asthma. we got a smoking room so they moved us down stairs to a room that didnt stink, the air conditioning sounded like a 747 airplane taking off and landing every 5 minutes, the stinky room above me they booked with a very loud crowd of people, they were up til 1am walking back and forth stomping yelling and opening the slide and glass door every 10 minutes, I litterly got maybe an hours of sleep between the 747 air-conditioning and the rude partiers up stairs and hillbilly Bob and his buddy and girl friend was parked outside our room for over 6 hours in the parking lot sitting on the tail gate of his truck drinking beer out of a cooler and hooting and hollaring , and this was normal I guess for this area and hotel because nothing was done to correct the problem. the worse experience ever!!! the room was dated, old, gross and there was a bar across the slide door so you couldnt open it, I didnt feel safe at all.........never again will I try to save money I will pay double the money to be safe and sleep.......

TheCovertCritic, Apex, North Carolina 16/09/2021

Strong and undefeatable mildew odors in the guest room and a paper bag with Gogurt and chocolate chip bars for breakfast just did not do it for me. I carry my own air purifiers when I travel and I spaced them around the room hoping to make the room smell fresh and clean. Obviously this type of issue cannot be addressed by placing a permanent perfume dispenser into a wall outlet and letting it run day and night. Well, it was obvious to me, but not to management as the sickly sweet odor hit me like a wall the moment I opened the door to enter the room. I was able to switch off the scent diffuser to begin my own efforts a sanitizing the air, but the air conditioner continued to spew mold so it was a hopeless task. The room was a strangely set up handicapped accessible with a curbless shower (good) and a remote sink at the far end wall of the guest room (bad.) The breakfast in a bag choices were pretty awful unless you are into granola and chocolate chips. There was coffee with artificial creamer-no half and half. Guest rooms all had outside entry doors. Parking was convenient.

"Stay at your own risk"

User 25/08/2021

We literally had roaches in the bed upon check in, were upgraded still had roaches also ants and the second room had bloody used sheets it was very disturbing. And to top everything else off they knew the hotel wasnt up to the 200 per night rate and kicked us out because the hotel wasn't up to par during scallop season knowing every hotel in town was sold out. Worst experience of my life

"Can be saved, if they work at it"

Tom G, Milford, New Jersey 22/08/2021

We stayed for 7 nights, the ceiling was starting to collapse from prior water damage, there was an odor, but it went away after we lowered the A/C and it ran for a few hours. The location is amazing right on the bay, and as someone else said "They can turn the place around, if they spend money to upgrade the buildings and rooms" Otherwise it will be lost. Since we are moving down that area, unless they upgrade the buildings and rooms we will not recommend this to family or friends if they look for a place to stay. Unfortunately this is the second Best Western we stayed at on our 2 week trip, and will be our last, unless they start working on their hotels.

User 15/08/2021

Stayed in a one bedroom suite. Absolutely repulsive! Soap scum in shower, disgusting toilet bowl, shower curtain stained and smelled of mildew, floors absolutely filthy, sugar ants on kitchenette counter. Here are pictures. Couldn't wait to leave!

"Wonderful Staff and clean quiet place to stay"

tinacL9717JP, Bel Air, Maryland 14/08/2021

Have stayed here multiple times since we are building a house in the area. Have always found clean rooms, beautiful views, and it's close to all Crystal River has to offer. Their entire staff is amazing…Alissa has been so helpful in finding us new things to do on multiple occasions.

User 02/08/2021

A truly repulsive place. When I turned on the shower and saw all of the mud coming off my feet I thought “wait a minute, did I walk barefoot outside?” Nope..that's how dirty the carpets are. The rooms are damp and the towels and carpets never dry . Rooms smell like wet dog. Can't wait to leave extra early tomorrow. This is bad folks.

"Could Not Deal With The Odor"

User 25/07/2021

Forget the breakfast and bring an air cleaner. When we first entered the guest room the sickly sweet odor of artificial scent hit us like a wall. It was disgusting, so we searched for the source and saw that a permanent scent machine had been installed in a wall outlet. We were able to turn it off. The alternative odor of filth and mildew was slightly less unpleasant. There was a large stain on the carpet. Did someone disgorge after drinking too much? Did a pet have an accident? The television worked though there were occasional issues with the remote. Rooms are outside entry and some are a walk from the office building where breakfast used to be served. Now there are goody bags offered by an attendant in that room. There are bag “choices” but most of them are pathetic alternatives to real food. Gone are the English muffins and raisin bran I used to enjoy. The replacements included yogurt in a tube and chocolate chip breakfast bars as well as Cheerios. There was no real creamer for the weak coffee. The room was a strangely set up handicapped accessible with a curbless shower (good) and a remote sink at the wall end of the guest room (bad). Parking was convenient.

"Very Disappointed. Over priced"

worowe99Rowe, Bradenton, Florida 20/07/2021

The place was very over priced and dirty. Internet kept dropping had to relog on every few minutes. Chairs on balcony were dirty and broken. Bed was uncomfortable. Plus they added a surprise $15 parking fee on top of the $300 plus room rate. A disappointing visit. Would not stay there again.

"Good Location, OK when everything else is booked."

User 19/07/2021

Good location on the river, but at the headwaters. Has a boat ramp. Very limited dock space, you most likely will need to tie up to another boat. Parking lot is a disaster. Very tight route to the boat ramp. Rooms are OK, but dated. I was at the pool with some friends sitting at a table when 2 people with "Security" shirts walked up and Demanded to know if we were staying at the hotel. Then they want to know our room numbers. After they left us alone they were asking several women in the pool. One of the women must have given them a smart answer, because they threatened to call the sheriff. Nice Friendly service there! I almost gave them a one star just because of the "security" BTW this pool is not the kind of place you would go to if you were not a guest of the hotel. Check-in was also problematic.

"Left trash old food in room. No water in room"

donm149, Orlando, Florida 18/07/2021

Room 3108. Never cleaned room. Left trash and old food. Only made beds. No towels no soap. No working water in bathroom. Smoke detector battery low. Siren every 5 minutes for hours before maintenance showed up Maintenance swore and yelled in bathroom while attempting to fix water issue. Children were present. Terrible service. Management was yelling at cleaning staff in front lobby upon check in. 4 staffs members quit. Management doesn't work on weekends. Staff tells everyone to call on Monday to speak with management about issues.

"Perfect location, amazing staff, fun hotel!"

ShannonS44, Galway 17/07/2021

The location is perfect, the staff is incredibly friendly and the pool area and dock were so much fun. Everyone hangs out after a day on the water. The gas grills were such a great amenity. It was also really nice to have a dock master (Randy) to help get all of the boats docked (they really pack them in a small space). It was also nice to have a boat ramp on property and there was plenty of room to store our boat trailer. The breakfast was just ok but we weren't expecting much because of Covid. We had a mini suite so we were able to cook in our room too. The room was right on par with a best western. Clean but nothing fancy. Overall, we had a great trip. Our only complaint was that our room wasn't ready at check in time and we had to wait 2 1/2 hours for it and we didn't get the exact room we booked.

"Room smelled like a ashtray"

MrsMelvin1986, Polk City, Florida 12/07/2021

The title is just the first awful part of our experience. Dogs barking and a huge party area right outside of our room. No other rooms to change to either. Definitely going to The Plantation for now on.

"Boat/dock help"

davep6260, Inverness, Florida 06/07/2021

Randy and crew were top shelf . They all should be rehired for next fourth of July weekend. They helped me dock my boat several times throughout the holiday weekend. I witnessed Randy on several occasions calm down boat owners/operators that may have indulged a little to much alcohol. Randy is the Man.

"Best Western. Crystal Rivers Resort"

User 03/07/2021

We enjoy staying at all Best Western's, they are our go to hotel. The rooms are always nice and clean! The beds are soooo comfortable! ❤ We really enjoyed our stay and we had a room overlooking the gulf. The rooms are a bit pricey but we enjoyed ourselves on our anniversary. Thanks

"Crystal River Calm"

lisalabell, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 25/06/2021

Wonderful place to stay. Had everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. So much to do onsite and off. You won't be disappointed. So convenient to everything and very clean. Perfect stay solo, couple or a family!

"Solid overall"

719shawno, Moscow, Idaho 16/06/2021

Having read the reviews, it feels like this is a place that is working to get better. The property is older, but maintained mostly well and seemingly headed in the right direction. That said, it's pretty basic all the way around and the bathrooms and beds need to be upgraded a bit. The bathrooms might be a struggle because they are small. The beds just need to go. The one I slept on was simply very, very bad. But the breakfast was nice enough and the location cannot be beat. Overall, solid, just not yet great.

"Great service & location"

Lina1919, Dunedin, Florida 14/06/2021

This is the second time we've stayed at this Best Western and it was great! Customer service is very good. Close to everything and we can walk to town. We'll be back. Next stay though we'll reserve a NON SMOKING room. My fault not the hotels!

"Boat parking issues"

User 05/06/2021

They have taken around 8 of the boat spaces to use for captains and tours. There was already an issue with boat parking before this. Now they charge you a launch fee $10, plus parking fee $10 per day!

"Great Location BUT Rooms Are a Mess!"

sashaproduction, miami, fl 03/06/2021

Stayed overnight only. Staff are great, but it took me 3 different attempts to get my $25 rewards cards applied to my bill. It must be a new thing, because speaking to the manager was the only way to get it done. The location is beautiful, but our room on the River Wing was nasty and everything was broken. Within 5 minutes, the carpet left our feet charcoal black and when I checked the air filters, huge mounds of dust and debris flew out at me. I cleaned them. I made the mistake of unpacking because then I found the TV wouldn't turn on. It finally dawned on me to check the connection which had been unplugged. The remote still did not work and neither did most of the plugs/lights in the room (or the clock). We had one outlet to charge everybody's electronics and I was the designated channel changer. I wanted to change rooms, but we had a 1pm boat cruise with Capt. Mike's downstairs we had to get to. It was great! Be sure to ask for Capt. Sean! Coming back in we stopped at the pool, which was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Broken pavers, uneven ground and a broken ladder on the deep end. Bring towels with you because there are none. We got back inside only to find the internet didn't work very well and kept dropping us. Luckily I had a hot spot. We ate food that we brought, but there is a decent restaurant (Crackers) right next door overlooking the water. I must say the fridge/freezer in the room was the best I have ever had in a hotel. Very spacious and actually kept items frozen. Getting into bed, I found a huge tear in my sheet, which I ended up getting caught in all night long. I woke up to a broken coffee maker and as any coffee drinker knows, that's just not acceptable! I spoke to the agent at check-out and she said they are aware of the filthy carpets and new tiles were going to be put down. I would def wait until they are before getting a room there again. Outside of the carpets and air vents, the room was that's not on the maid service. I chalked it up to staff shortage in maintenance...but the nastiness of the carpets leaves me warning you...DO NOT STAY HERE!

"Crystal River"

SusanLaneGlisson, Orange Park, Florida 01/06/2021

We choose Best Western Crystal River as our destination multiple times a year. They are always professional and accommodating to our arge group of guests we bring. The King size suite is the best bang for your buck

"Clean and pleasant staff"

Tinkvasi, Orlando, Florida 20/05/2021

We had made reservations with this hotel a few nights before hand. Check-in was painless and easy. Front desk staff was very pleasant, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast is a grab and go style which I'm not overly a fan of. However it seems to be used a lot now because of Covid. The choices of the grab and go were not great. The breakfast sandwiches with egg and cheese had pig cooked on it. You cannot have a sandwich made without it. You could only choose to take off the pig piece and therefore it was not a viable choice for us as we do not eat pig. The other choices were not very substantial. However The staff that helped out at breakfast was extremely friendly and helpful. Check out was equally fast and effortless.

"Nice room"

WCarlP, Hermosa Beach, California 08/05/2021

Property was close to everything we needed. Even had a manatee tour company on site although we did not use it. Room was nice although a little dated. Grab and go breakfast was ok. Staff helpful and friendly

"Great Choice for Crystal River"

WorldTravelerSSD, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 05/05/2021

The Best Western is a great stay for Crystal River. We stayed in the River wing and were right by the pool and a lovely area on the water. We were also right next to a great restaurant with many options, outdoor seating and tiki bar. The room was comfortable and clean. The multiple breakfast options were really great as most hotels only offer one choice.

"For Grandpa, son and 2 granddaughters- perfect choice"

User 04/05/2021

We needed a place that was reasonably priced, clean and hopefully, off the main road. Also, I wanted two beds per room so no one had to share a bed. This was ideal. Two double beds per room and rooms attached to allow easy communication. The rooms were recently refurbished, up-to-date, clean and very reasonably priced. And it had a nice pool area and the whole place fronts on the river! An one minute walk along the waterfront sidewalk brings you to Crackers restaurant. Ice Cream shops and other restaurants less than a 5 minute walk.

"Great location in Crystal River"

User 13/04/2021

Stayed at BW Crystal River with 3 grandchildren for Spring Break for a week. The hotel is located close to everything in Crystal River on Hwy 19. It is directly on Kings Bay so there is a great water view from the pool. We stayed in River Wing. The room was nice. Please note that due to Covid housekeeping services are limited to trash pickup and replacing towels unless other services are specifically requested. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was nice to have. Check-in was easy with friendly staff. The kids enjoyed the pool which overlooks the marina and Kings Bay. Each day seemed to follow similar pattern. Families did their main activity for the day, then returned to the hotel around 3pm and came to the pool for the remainder of the day. There were always a lot of kids (thankfully) to play with for the grandkids. Everyone was very friendly. The Crystal River vacation crowd seems very different than the Disney or Theme Park crowd. Everyone was laid back and just relaxing, enjoying themselves and family. Lots of people took advantage of the picnic tables and gas grill available by the pool to make dinners and eat outside. There are also plenty of good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was also included but you had to choose an "option" due to Covid. They still has really good waffles. One things the kids enjoyed was watching the fishermen on the dock feeding the pelicans when they were cleaning their fish. There is a Manatee Tour company right in the hotel (Captain Jacks) and several others nearby if they are all booked. You can also rent kayaks nearby (we used Paddles) to see manatees. Overall, this was a great place to stay, relax, and enjoy all that Crystal River has to offer at a great price.

"Nope...not Impressed"

Review5050, Peachtree Corners, Georgia 09/04/2021

Nice Lobby, Nice Check-In Staff. But the rooms are dated and smelly. Bed hard and squeaky, no extra linens for the pullout or extra blankets. Pullout mattress is pitiful like a flat pancake on wire. Better to sleep on the couch cushions laid on the floor. Staff couldn't provide pillows for the other two guests. Room sleeps 4 but only towels for 3 provided. Bathroom has a step in 2in ledge shower looks like for ADA but pull bars either not in the right place or not located where needed. The toilet is tiny, low to the ground and very loud. They need larger numbers on there building so they can't be seen at night. Breakfast is Ridiculous-it's not continental it's one bag that the guard dog puts together for you. Only warm option a single waffle. Want a breakfast sandwich, you heat it yourself in your room. After a long night on uncomfortable beds this really was not what I wanted to do is go somewhere else to pick up a decent breakfast for the starving family. Tiny granola bar, bad sandwich, and an orange. Not impressed. At least let me get extra fruit and a box of cereal. My impression is the hotel is being CHEAP, using COVID as an excuse.

"Deferred Maintenance"

BKWebb2, Maitland, Florida 28/03/2021

Sink and toilet plumbing did not work properly; carpeting was filthy; AC was full of dirt and dust. Our room was very humid upon our arrival, and remained so during our stay. Certainly not a place for anyone with allergies. We were planning on staying for 2 nights, but because of the room, left after 1 night.

"Great location! Manatees out the back of the property"

ladykateq, Osceola, Wisconsin 23/03/2021

Really nice place, quiet even though the weekend had the hotel filled. Good breakfast options, next door to a restaurant and up the street from a deli and an ice cream shop. Cute stores downtown, and lots of things to do.

"Best Western - Crystal River, FL"

floridamelissa2021, Huntsville, Texas 16/03/2021

A great hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms we're clean and comfortable . We enjoyed the river walk and the pool area. If you're in the area, this is a great choice. Definitely book ahead of time.

"Crystal River FL"

User 11/03/2021

Staff was nice and the motel is close to shops and dinning. Rooms are not very clean ... there were burn holes in the bedding. There is also Captain Mike's tours in the building and there manatee tours are the best

"remarkably nice facility"

grizelda2, Chicago, Illinois 09/03/2021

remarkably nice facility in a great location- on the water- great staff and wonderful rooms- with great views. staff were great at recommendations for things to do. great place for a getaway. lots of space for pets.

User 23/02/2021

The Crystal River, FL. hotel is one of the best small, but spread out in the North Central area of Florida. The location is right off the western side of the Florida coast with many attractions and quaint shops. If you have a boat, they have a launch. You want BBQ, they have grills. The TV has many channels, including HBO and sports. Good parking, well lighted with surveillance cameras. Great bargain for the price.

"Great place to stay!"

tracyb0325, Carrollton, Georgia 09/02/2021

Great customer service and lovely rooms. The hotel has done a great job to accommodate guests during the pandemic ensuring a great stay with all the needed safety precautions in place. The location is great to have walking access to restaurants, shops and the manatee swim.

"Crystal River"

User 08/02/2021

As always we had a great time. My Granddaughter lived the pool. We seen alot of Manatees. Food was great. We also meet Jake . Thank you for going out of your way to make our stay great. Our view was awesome.

"Enjoyed our stay"

justatester, ohio 05/02/2021

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and the location was very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked for a late check-out because we were doing a manatee tour and they were very accommodating. I wish the pool were open later. We were so busy during the day that we only got to sit in the hot tub for 45 minutes each night before they came to tell us it was closed (10pm). It was a small quiet group and it would have been nice if they'd let us stay a bit longer.

"Good value. Great accommodations for the price ."

Thomas C, Brownville, United States 04/02/2021

A nice place to stay for a relaxing visit. Definitely plan to return to do the swim with the manatees tour. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and we'll managed under the Covid circumstances. We'll be back.

"Attached to captin mikes"

brian r, Houston, Texas 13/01/2021

The hotel partnered with captin mikes tours which makes swimming with the manetees very convenient. Plenty of resturants in the area and gasoline stations very close. If you booked with captin mikes you may as well save yourself the troube of waking up early and just stay here.

"Wonderful friendly place to stay"

User 04/01/2021

I spend about 3 weeks per month here on business. The staff here is very friendly and always helpful, when I check in the front desk girl is usually Alissa, she is just a ray of sunshine. I interact with the front desk, security, maintenance, housekeeping and even laundry, I have yet to have a problem with anyone, I am always treated like family, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. I would strongly recommend staying here. Jim Hordern

"Great stay"

robindyer2003, Manning, South Carolina 03/01/2021

We stayed here for our vacation and it was great. It is a great location to everything we needed and wanted. Great price and great service. The staff was very friendly. We loved that we were right on the bay

"Quiet place to stay"

drombudsman, Indian Rocks Beach, Florida 01/01/2021

Room was very nice for the price; pets allowed (great for us) at a reasonable additional fee, Staff was very helpful with checkin. Internet worked well on several devices. Grab and Go breakfast was OK but probably the best possible given COVID restrictions.

"Bringing the Vette home"

HDlover, Saint James City, Florida 22/12/2020

Excellent last minute find. Great location. Walkable to main area with restaurants and shops .4 miles away. Great restaurant next door (Cracker's). Rooms very nicely appointed and very clean! Beautiful peaceful views. We hope to be back!

"Overnight stay"

pstjohn99, Toledo, Ohio 02/11/2020

Should we start with the bar of soap on the shower floor, or the unswept bathroom floor? Or we could talk about the noise between the fridge and the ac that were so loud it kept you awake ? The good thing about this " resort" is that it is next door to a great restaurant on the water called "Crackers". Not up to Best Western standards of others we have stayed at.

User 24/10/2020

This place was gross! Room smelled flooded, musty and moldy, cockroaches, and a huge rat was in our room! They never even called me back after offering a refund and not following threw with it.. Do not stay here!!!

"Great location to relax"

RebeccaA11368, Athens, Georgia 20/10/2020

Our room was ready ahead of time. We had the nicest housekeeper Pam who refreshed our towels and shampoo and left us alone when we needed to sleep. The pool was beautiful and the waterfront location with the birds, pelicans and boats were gorgeous. We were there for an Elvis festival in Inverness but we we happy we stayed at this hotel. Far more relaxing. Beds were comfy and air was cold.

"great location"

User 26/09/2020

Location was good on the river and close to restaurants, room was clean but very musty. Some constrution was going on so was nosiy during the day but very quiet at night. Hotel needs to generally updated

"Oh heck no!!"

User 12/09/2020

We where excited for our little get away. But the room...nope. Non smoking? Why are there butts on the balcony? Extra for the balcony? To look at a construction zone? Coming back to a NOT cleaned room, NO trash removed, NO fresh towels, NO new soap & shampoo for 4 people -NO APPOLOGY FROM THE FRONT DESK WHEN I WENT TO GET NEW TOWELS!!! SHE PUT IT ALL IN A TRASH BAG!!!!!! No more Best Western Crystal River - NOT FOR THAT PRICE!

"Lack of Cleanliness and Unhygienic"

User 10/09/2020

Great location, would not stay here again, the hotel has significantly deteriorated since our last stay. It was not one thing, but a multitude of items. We attempted to talk to staff, but many of the conditions were out of their control. The floor was so filthy, we could not walk on it without shoes, it would literally turn your feet black. When the electricity went out for 12 hours, the smell of the room was horrendous. We were told to put our garbage and towels outside for someone to pick up, but they never did. We actually found blood on the bed sheets. The boat ramp was in disrepair.

"Absolutely Disgusting"

User 02/09/2020

Rooms are disgusting, front desk lady is rude, People are loud outside late night drunk and belligerent, daytime there was a homeless man laying on the floor halfway out of a room door open passed out drunk, definitely reflects a 2 start hotel. Only stayed here because I don't know the area and didn't know where else to go.

"Great location!"

User 24/08/2020

This is in a great location for Crystal River access. Looks like they are updating the boat ramp and have done some recent remodeling around pool and gazebos. Nice fish/ scalloping cleaning station. All the staff were great ! Very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic and clean. Breakfast is just fruit, granola bars snacks etc. Due to covid. We didn't experience and issues stated on the bad reviews. Right next door to Crackers bar and grill, which has great food. Will definitely be going back.

"Rude Front Desk- Unclean Room"

User 10/08/2020

The staff at front desk was rude. We arrived to be sent with our luggage to a room that was locked and a maintenance guy was inside who told us the room was out of order. We were then sent to another room that had dead bugs squished on the walls and a frog living in the shower. I could hear voices in the bathroom and discovered the bathroom window was damaged and would not secure closed. Me and my wife were stuck there Because we carpooled with another couple. Won't stay here again.

"Worst Western"

User 01/08/2020

Old, very rundown. Rooms dirty, carpet needed replaced. Pool had mildew growing at the steps. Breakfast was frozen egg or granola bar. Had to have breakfast room unchained so I could use microwave. Dock was tore up with grounds covered in mud, grass and boards.

"Not what we're used to from Best Western"

kathyw854, Orlando, United States 29/07/2020

Stayed at this location mainly for the boat ramp and boat slips. However, upon our arrival we were notified that the boat ramp was closed. We had to put the boat in approx 2 miles away and pay $5 at the nearby ramp. It would have been nice to be notified before check in of the change. Our shower head was terrible and the noise outside our room, even after 11pm was like a free for all. The take and go breakfast was a joke. The price we paid, especially the higher weekend rate was not worth it. On the positive side, the room was clean and we loved being able to dock out boat just steps from our room. Our group utilized 4 rooms, all in the river wing and had similar opinions of their stay.

"Perfect stay."

BFK4567, Orlando, Florida 29/07/2020

Clean rooms. Nice amenities. Covered pavilion and grills located by the pool are perfect for cooking up your own food. Save the cash and go to the bar located next door for a nice evening on the water. Friendly service, great coffee with a smile in the Breakfast room. Even though the included breakfast is pared down due to COVID, the grab and go bag of fruit and breakfast bar was appreciated. Front desk was great!

"Amazing customer service!"

User 25/07/2020

We arrived for our family scalloping trip! We called ahead to add an extra night and requested to have the same room for the duration. When we arrived there was a mix up. The girl at the front desk, Alyssa, was just amazing!!! She kept at it until she was able to accommodate my family! She was super pleasant and genuinely concerned about our stay. I cannot say how much I appreciate her. In a world where most would just shrug their shoulders and shake their head, she really went the xtra mile. And to boot room is super clean!! Thank you Alyssa!

jillybean2011, Florida Keys, Florida 25/07/2020

The room itself looked fine, a little dated but appeared clean. Until I went into the bathroom. That's when I saw the first roach. The small German roaches. Saw a few more, but the last straw was when one crawled on me while in bed. Tried to call the front desk, phone wasn't working... ugh. So, late at night had to walk to the desk. The girl tried to give me a room in the same building. Nope, if those roaches are there, they have infested the entire building. She assigned another after saying, "Well it is Florida". Uhhhhh... no. Those types of roaches show uncleanliness. Anyway, the new room was fine. I do like that it has a boat ramp, that is why we chose it. Launched and attempted to tie up to the cleat while parking the truck, cleat disconnected from the dock!! WTH! Never again!

"Stay somewhere else"

User 17/07/2020

Very disappointed in this hotel. The carpets were disgusting (black feet walking from bed to bathroom). The shower head was broken and couldn't be adjusted off of the pressure washer setting. Beds were uncomfortable. The grab and go breakfast was terrible as well. A mini 1/2 ripe tangerine, purified water, and a donut stick. We will be staying at the Hampton Inn next time.

"A very disappointing property............."

Nannette50, PA 06/06/2020

Girl at checkin was very nice and did her best to accommodate us! We were given a room on second elevator in this building. It was away from main bldg. It was so musty smelling. Asked for another room, they assigned same bldg, also musty and dingy. Maybe main bldg looks like pics on internet, but the rooms we were assigned looked nothing like pics. Only thing I will say is girl at front desk agreed musty odor and dampness is an on going problem. After third room given was the same way, we walked away from the reservation. Room was free by using points...we didn't care if we lost point we did not stay at this property. Payed for a room at a different hotel chain down the road. This property needs updating, a tons of rid aide for odor. I am an honest person in my judgement and am not hard to please but this property was terrible!

"Old Florida at it's Best"

Deacondave51, Lake Wales, Florida 06/06/2020

Loved the great views, the pool, hot tub, and the room was very spacious and clean. We will definitely be back again but with our boat next time. We even got to witness the weigh-in for a Florida Gator scholarship fishing tournament.

"On the water! Exceptional Service"

BillieD89, Cairo 09/05/2020

Love this place! Charming, well-kept, spacious rooms. The staff goes above and beyond...treats you like family. Beautiful water setting, with a great bar and grill next door. Hope to be back many more times!!

"Clean, quiet hotel, nothing fancy"

854DP, Wellington, New Zealand 07/04/2020

The room was a good size and we were around the back so it was nice and quiet. We were there late and up and out early in order to swim with the manatee. The staff were extra super friendly and breakfast started really early for people like us which was brilliant. It was a typical American hotel breakfast, nothing to get excited about but it filled a hole ready for our day. It was a good price for what we expected and I'd stay again if we did this again.

"Best Western Crystal River"

jaarthur, Saint Louis, Missouri 04/04/2020

We stayed during the chrona virus pandemic so nothing was business as usual. All the restaurants in the state were closed or takeout only. That being said, the breakfast at the hotel could have been much better. Since we were eating takeout, it would have been nice to have two chairs and a small table on our private balcony.

"Traveling Back Home"

Sue S, Slinger, Wisconsin 03/04/2020

This was our first hotel after leaving the Florida. The front desk was very accommodating and since the hotel was basically empty let us keep our van with motorcycle on it in the parking lot rules were trailers parked in separate area but did not to unhitch it. We asked for a handicap room and this one came with a toilet and shower facilities all in the same area but only complaint was after we both showered water was all around the toilet area as it seemed the floor was not pitched properly so had to put our used towels down so that the toilet area could dry out. Of course due to the virus the breakfast consisted of pre-package donuts, bottled juices etc. and it was take and go.

"Trip to See the Manatees"

JustaCruzan, Saint Louis, Missouri 19/03/2020

I stayed here for three nights to see the Manatees and other Florida attractions nearby. This property consists of several disconnected buildings behind the main lobby building and butting up to Kings Bay. I was given a ground floor room in building nearest the pool and Crackers restaurant. It was a short walk to the lobby for breakfast. The room and grounds were clean. The breakfast was good. The location was walkable to Bird's Underwater manatee tour, and a very short drive to downtown Crystal River, if you chose not to eat at Crackers every night. Front desk crew was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to do in area. Overall, it was a very nice stay. Would have given it a five, except I left my swim suit in the room, and when I called to get it back three times, was put into voicemail for housekeeping each time. No one from house keeping ever returned my calls. A call back to deny finding the suit would be better than nothing.

"Happy traveler"

User 18/03/2020

Great place to visit. The location was central to all the events I was participating in. The support staff was professional and friendly. The hotel sits on Kings bay and was awesome at sundown. We could walk to all our locations if we wanted to.

"all down to which room you are in"

User 14/03/2020

If we did not have room 2211 which is on the upper floor in the block facing the swimming pool then our review may have been different I think room 2211 is likely to be the best room available, the balcony looks directly over the dive school and has an unrestricted view of the water. the photo Other folks who had paid extra for a balcony room got one but the view where of a tree and a hedge. The rooms are dated, of a good size and clean, nothing fancy but just basic, The whole resort is spread out into several blocks away from the main reception/breakfast room. Parking is outside each block and plentiful The breakfast was sufficient with a good selection. As I say my opinion on this place is distorted due to the great room we had, I got 1 night free on my points and paid around $120 for the second night, if I had to pay this or more for one of the standard rooms I am not sure I would choose this hotel.

"powder eggs and cheap bacon."

Patricia S, Macomb, Illinois 11/03/2020

Best Western is not the only hotel that serves powder eggs and cheap bacon. All hotels that include a continental breakfast has this problem. Any hotels with breakfast and serves powder eggs and cheap bacon will have a rating of 4. Come on now it's not that hard to scramble up some eggs and buy better bacon.

"Very nice hotel and location"

z1mindybrown, Rockledge, Florida 10/03/2020

Everything was great! Nice room. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub were great. Great location, close to our early morning activities. Front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

Roger L, Crawfordville, Florida 09/03/2020

Looks nice from the lobby. But rooms need updated. Best Western website does not extend government rates to veterans so beware. Your rate could jump as much as 50% if you are a veteran. Rooms are old no USB ports for charging devices. Toilets are made for kindergarten aged children not adults.

karendR5330YD, Lakeland, Florida 05/03/2020

Showed up at resort for a 4 day 3 night family weekend with our dog and was informed of a pet policy that was NOT posted online. Apparently you can have a dog there but can't leave them alone in the room. What good does that do? I even showed the front desk person the online pet policy which not say dogs can't be left alone. Their response was that they didn't have room to put everything. I told them I would never have booked in the first place. Had to scramble to find a place to stay same day. Rude front desk person. Would NEVER recommend this place!

"Excellent breakfast"

kudzumom, Harvest, Alabama 03/03/2020

One of the best breakfast spread I've seen at a Best Western. Plenty of options, some unusual things (a yogurt machine), and well maintained. The staff has been friendly and the room is clean. My only complaints are that the toilet paper is wafer thin, and the towels are thin and rough.

"Excellent resort feel"

User 01/03/2020

This is a beautiful facility with many options: walk to excellent restaurants, swim with manatees, water sports, heated pool. Clean, easy to manuever the property. It is a little pricey compared to other Best Western properties, but it is very nice.

"Great room"

User 29/02/2020

Great clean affordable room and less than 5 min walk to birds underwater dive and mantatee place that was the reason we selected this hotel and it has restaurants less than a minute to walk too. A beautiful boardwalk to walk around the property

"On the north end of town, but easy access to US-19 and so everything else."

Denny2684, Ocala, Florida 24/02/2020

The location is great. Parts of the resort are Kings Bay with access to the gulf. Large number of restaurants near by. The staff was very helpful in suggesting places to eat. Many of the recommendations were based on their personnel experiences. The breakfast is well stocked with hot selections as well a a selection of cereals and breads. The rooms were your standard motel room, but were clean.

"Sea cows"

User 22/02/2020

Great place for seeing sea cows. Staff was friendly with a great location. Second time staying at this location and would recommend it to all. Short walk to restaurant behind hotel with good food. Nice town too!!

"Relaxing on Kings Bay"

User 19/02/2020

I was impressed and satisfied with overall experience other than they gave my room that I had already paid for to someone else. They provided no legitimate reason other than "they were busy". No excuse for that and unprofessional. However, our experience was good and the kids enjoyed the pool and breakfast. I would like to go back and give them a chance to redeem themselves for the room flub.

"It's Ok if you're not picky"

bigmike8989, Leesburg, Florida 18/02/2020

It's not the best BW I have stayed in. I am recently disabled and have a hard time getting around and this hotel doesn't seem to cater to disabilities well. Staff was not the greatest, they looked unhappy.

"Did not honor reservation."

luvmylatte1006, Fort Wayne, Indiana 17/02/2020

I reserved a king room for 2 nights a month in advanced. When we arrived at 4, I was told there was an issue with the king room so they put us in a 2 double bed room. That room was not ready until 5:30. The room was dirty, had to have maintenance come spray for ants.Beds were horrible and had metal pieces coming out the sides like a frame for what was supposed to be a larger mattress. They did nothing to provide a credit or anything to make things right .

"Awful awful!"

vstarr327, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 16/02/2020

Run dont walk from thus place! We checked in and our room was close to the water next door to the restaurant. First thing I see is an ashtray full of ashes and the room reeked of cigarettes. Wasnt warned that a band played right next door every night. Was excited there was a hot tub but of course we were told the heater is broken. Would have been nice to know. Next morning coffee machine doesnt work and told front desk. Next day after going out return to the room and the new sheets on the bed have ink and stains. At breakfast now and toaster is broken. This place is the worst!

"Great BW"

dickah1, Newaygo, Michigan 14/02/2020

Just an awesume place to stay in Crystal River!! There is a neat resturant and bar right next door in walking distance. It has good food and great atmosphere! It's right on the water with a huge deck overlooking the marina and lots of boats.

"Cockroaches found here !!!"

DisnyGrl, Sault Ste. Marie, Canada 13/02/2020

Front desk on arrival not very welcoming as made clientele wait while she finished her paper work. Got the room , and yes pool is lovely . BUT awoke up in am to little animals running fast in room . Took pic and while we left then and checked out same front desk just said oh will have to put that room closed on list oh you paid through and that's it ... won't be coming back here .

954mandyp, Wyoming, Minnesota 13/02/2020

Breakfast was very good! But pool was uncomfortably cold so my kids wouldn't swim, and hot tub was more like a Luke warm bath. Other than that it was a good stay. I'd recommend turning up thermostat on pool and hot tub for your customers. We stayed here as we were going swimming with manatees.

"Great Location / Late check-in"

Keith R, Dothan, United States 10/02/2020

This place has great potential. This was the 4th and most likely the last time we will stay. hey gave our rooms away that had been booked for months. We ended up with poor locations and rooms that we had to take. Even though everyone was nice and considerate they need a lot of work managing this facility.

"Nice place - slow check-in"

CincyBob, Morrow, Georgia 09/02/2020

When we arrived, I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to check-in. The room we had was very nice. The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff was excellent. I would have rated this place 5 stars if it hadn't been for the slow check-in.

Milah W, Estero, Florida 02/02/2020

Exceptionally Clean inside and out, outstanding friendly customer service, great location and a great variety of hot and cold breakfast items . Not use to paying so much for a nights stay but it hit our expectations with flying colors. Beds were a little on the stiff side but hubby likes it like that.

"Very Nice Stay"

PCladybug1013, Crystal River, Florida 28/01/2020

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a vice nice stay. The room was small, but it was very clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast in the mornings were a plus. The staff that was working the breakfast area were very friendly and suggested several points of interest. Security walked the property at night which made me feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

great location, We were in the bulding that had abus load of kids. I think it wouldhave been best that we were not place umoung them. We were travling with a dog and may have been the reason for the location.

"Great Location"

msgttop, Tallahassee, Florida 25/01/2020

Very nice experience, access to the water. Friendly, helpful ladies at check-in are a fine asset and they answered all our questions. Large breakfast room just off the lobby with hot items available. Good coffee too. Four separate buildings with many snow birds enjoying the weather and the water; paddle boarding and snorkeling, swimming with the manatees. Several fine seafood restaurants within easy walking distance also on the water. Quiet rooms with many many HD channels.

"Good Stay Poor Check In"

phillupi, Clearwater, Florida 24/01/2020

I had a free night here. You can't schedule online or on the app. You must call. After calling I was sent an email with a confirmation number. When checking in they couldn't use my email on my phone. They wanted it printed out. They don't have wireless printers available so I had to call support for BW. They emailed it to the hotel. They wouldn't allow me to email it to them. And to top it off we had 1 person doing all the check ins. There were 3 of us in line. It took awhile to get to the front of the line just to find out these issues. All this time I saw numerous employees talk to the front desk person but not offer any assistance. The front desk person was also taking phone calls while checking people in. The total time it took to get checked in was 45 minutes. No exaggeration. Rooms were average for a BW. The phone didn't work at all and the towels were worn more than usual. I will not stay here again. Even for free.

"Great location, pleasant stay"

Cronton, Northwest 22/01/2020

Spent 2 nights here (20th-21st January). Warm welcome, easy check in. We arrived early and they sorted our room for us 4 hours early so we could settle in straight away. Coffee/tea in reception at all times. Room was clean, king size n/s room was ideal. Breakfast was plentiful and nicely set out to help yourself. Great location for the river and manatee tours. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"Excellent Lodging Experience"

Group_Hotel_Pro, Alpharetta, Georgia 20/01/2020

My son and I traveled last minute to Crystal River for a fishing weekend. I travel a lot for my job and didn't have the highest expectations, but this Best Western was great. To my surprise, the hotel is right on the bay. I had expected it to be across the street. But the BW rooms are spread throughout several buildings, and the building closest to the pool is right on the water. Our room with two beds was comfortable, the TV worked great, the bathroom was clean and well maintained. We hardly moved our car after arriving. It was so easy to walk or ride our bikes to anywhere in town. We walked to the Crab Plant for dinner one night, and to Charlie's the other night. I would definitely stay here again.

"So clean! Perfect location for the Manatee Festival!!"

939summerw, Panama City Beach, Florida 19/01/2020

I have to admit I was leary about staying here, but it has been fabulous! At check in, I had to sign a waiver saying I would not clean scallops or fish in our bathtub.... that freaked me out! I really didnt know what to expect when we got to the room, but it was spotless. A couple of weeks ago, we stayed at at Marriott in Amelia Island that was NASTY, so I was so pleased to see how clean this was. The water is right behind the resort, we walked out on the pier and there was a manatee! It was awesome! As far as location for the festival, it can not be beat. We walked to it both days. It is about a 3 minute walk. Highly recommend!

"Pleasure Trip"

gbelg, Listowel, Canada 14/01/2020

Excellent, clean, very friendly. I would recommend this hotel for an excellent stay. The rooms were very clean. The room service was great. The front desk and the breakfast attendants were very professional. Situated to an excellent restaurant

"Exceeded my expectations "

User 10/01/2020

We stopped here last night and are very pleased . I'm always cautious staying in a motel. BW was clean, maintained, and quiet . We had a room by stairs and didn't hear anything . The pool area and breakfast area were also very well kept.

"Happy New year"

Jesse H, Taylor, Michigan 02/01/2020

Awesome place For a new years party with family and friends lots of things to do on the water front they have sea horses a dive shop if you like under water exploring a restaurant right there so you don't have to go out searching for good dinner just walk right over to it. Defiantly a gets all 10's from my family

"Opposite experience than others had with this hotel "

ukienomad, Fleming Island, Florida 28/12/2019

Unfortunately, we had the opposite experience here at the best Western than other reviewers. The common area where the reception area smelled musty and Smokey. We came in at 2 o'clock and were told that our rooms weren't ready and check in was at 4. We tried to get some tea in the common area but there was no hot water. So we left and came back at 4. The rooms were still not ready and they could not tell us when they would be. Even though other rooms were ready and customers had not come in yet, they would not switch the room. Shellena was condescending and when we complained, smiled and kind of made fun of us. The attitude is unacceptable. We finally got in at 5 o'clock after standing by the desk and waiting until they gave us a room. There were others that were waiting even longer and everyone was upset. At breakfast we met people that waited till after 8 pm to get a room. It was disorganized and the two women at the desk didn't seem to know what they were doing. Worst experience as far as check in goes. The room was also musty and smelly but were happy to just have a room at this point. The room itself was okay, the bathroom tiny with a tub and a toilet and the sink is located in the room. Surprisingly, Breakfast was very good for a chain hotel with lots of choices. When we checked out, the person at the desk was very nice not like the ones that were there the day before. Location is great and there are nice seafood restaurants within walking distance. There are a lot of great reviews for this place so maybe they had a bad day. You decide.

"Manatees and Mermaids"

User 22/12/2019

The hotel was excellent. Very clean and up to date rooms. Check out was a very reasonable time at 12. The breakfast was wonderful! Great selection of things to eat no matter your food likes or dislikes. Plus it ran until 10 which is wonderful. And the best lunch and dinner place close to the hotel is called Charlie's. Don't bother with Crackers next door.

"Great area to visit and hotel"

DennyFLA, Ocala, Florida 21/12/2019

The hotel is near US 19 and easy to get to. "Sam" and "Shell" at the front desk were helpful with suggestions of "local" places to eat. As with all hotels we stay at, the pillows offered were too hard, but that is a personal opinion.

"Good Value for the Price"

meli47, Southwest Gulf Coast, Florida 17/12/2019

The price point on this hotel in comparison with the amenities (breakfast, wifi, free parking, etc) plus the good reviews is what made me choose this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The building we stayed in, though, was behind the main hotel check-in building and it is right next to residential housing which has a weird feel. Also, very early in the morning, we could hear a lot of noise coming from the parking lot and people in wetsuits parking their vehicles and yelling back and forth were using the road behind our room to get going for the day with whatever water activity they were doing. The hotel was not crowded when we stayed, which we were thankful for, because it felt like the hotel room would be much noisier if we had neighbors in the adjacent rooms. What I will say is the location was very convenient to our activities in Crystal River, the staff was efficient and friendly, check-in/check-out was fast and simple, and their breakfast was phenomenal. Tons of selection, lots of fresh foods to start your day.

"Much better than expected"

msu_mom, Troy, Michigan 06/12/2019

The room was spotless and the bed was comfy. The location was excellent; right on the water. The breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel like this with fruit, yogurt, bacon and eggs. The restaurant next door was excellent too! We'd definitely return!

"Fine but not great"

doubleyousea, New Orleans, Louisiana 05/12/2019

I am a pretty low maintenance traveler and only need a clean, comfortable place to stay to be satisfied. This "resort" didn't feel so much like a resort and felt a little more like a generic motel. The property consists of various buildings with doors you enter from outside. Our room was satisfactorily clean, but smelled horribly musty. The first day was almost unbearable, but was better each day. I assume the proximity to the water and the fact that it was the beginning of manatee season contributed to this problem. The smell would keep me from booking this location again. The front desk staff were all very friendly and there was an excellent breakfast buffet each morning. Because the staff were so nice and the breakfast was great, I can see the appeal. I'm just not sure it would be enough to book again.

"Great FREE Breakfast and close walking distance to points of interest."

gitwet40, canada 03/12/2019

Very reasonable price and a great free breakfast. Nice pool and room had all comforts. Nice river walk to sightsee and restaurants. Nice close pub with live music. Boat ramp with tour/scuba shop. BBQ and nice pool area.

"Comfy, clean but so much plastic!"

User 22/11/2019

We checked out early from the Port Hotel and booked in at Best Western, the lady on the desk was lovely, the room was clean and very comfortable with hot drink facilities, fridge, heating/aircon and lovely beds. The location is bang on and an evening wander on the boardwalk is a must. We had a nice dinner at the Crankers resteraunt next door too. The shocking bit was at breakfast, a nice spread of buffet style food but every single cup, bowl, plate, cutlery and 'glass' was single use plastic. Now I haven't stayed in many hotels in the USA and it's maybe something they all do but I hope not. Not only is it detrimental to the environment but also makes for a crappy breakfast experience. The place is surrounded by natural beauty I just hope they work to protect it.

"OK hotel"

Janet P, Green Bay, Wisconsin 18/11/2019

Overall the hotel was clean & staff friendly. I did have an issue with a TV remote that they were not able to resolve. Wi-fi worked great. It would be nice to see this hotel get a make over tho. I'd still recommend people to stay here.

"Long weekend getaway"

Nickmo06, Plantation, Florida 10/11/2019

We stayed in Crystal River because it was near where my brother was getting married. The hotel is nice, yes the bathroom needs updating and you should book the bigger room if 4 adults will be in the room but with the 3 of us it was ok. For even better view book a balcony room. Air conditioning worked great in the room, breakfast in the morning was good, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. I would stay here again

"great stay"

PUPD, Indiana 08/11/2019

Stay here twice a year and for an older property it is well maintained, breakfast is very good in large room with many items. Mattress are not the best, could benefit from new ones. Overall this is a nice property

"Loved the location but the place needs some TLC"

sheeba77, Palm Harbor, Florida 04/11/2019

We loved the pool area on the lake and having a restaurant on the premises. U were also able to walk to different restaurants and even to a spring. The bad part was the room. It was so musty and old. The bathroom was so bad the maid left the fan on to dry the place up. The staff was great and the breakfast was great. If they improve the rooms I would stay there again

"A little outdated, but very friendly staff"

User 03/11/2019

We stayed at the BW in Crytsal River in October and enjoyed our stay overall. The hotel area is a bit large and when it rained, there were many puddles and you had to take your umbrella/rain coat with you everywhere. I lost my pyjamas as we had to move rooms (because of a storm) and the staff relly did their best to find them (which we did eventually). Thank you very much! Beacuse of the storm we were upgraded to a bigger room, which was very nice. The breakfast is just okay - too much plastic and trash created through it.

"Great location"

User 02/11/2019

Stayed here because I had an early manatee swim tour booked. This location is excellent with boat docks and river with manatees in back of hotel. There is also restaurant/bar next door. I definitely will be returning.

"Sunrise/Sunset MC Ride Across Florida"

johnvinyl, Winter Haven, Florida 28/10/2019

Great location! Right on the river leading to the Gulf in Crystal Springs FL. Crackers Restaurant next door. On Florida 19. Easy to find. Plenty of parking spaces. Variety of room sizes. We had a room with three beds for three old motorcycle geezers doing a ride from the Atlantic to the Gulf.

"Great location"

Sandave5756, England, United Kingdom 20/10/2019

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is right on the river with the Crystal River Dive & Snorkel Tours company right on site. It is also next door to Crackers which has a riverside Tiki Bar and restaurant. The hotel was clean comfortable and provided a good buffet style breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

"Best Western Crystal River"

"Excellent Location"

Very nice hotel and so convenient to downtown area and local restaurants. Room was very nice. It is an older, established hotel but very well maintained. Two local restaurants right next door and convenient to the boardwalk along Kings Bay..

"Just Relax"

We enjoyed a 3 day get away over mothers day weekend.. The property has multiple annex's,.We stayed in the River view wing, wonderful view of Kings Bay. The Florida Cracker Restaurant and Tiki Bar is next door via the boardwalk good food and live music.

kremmen1955, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom 05/10/2019

Refurbished older style motel. Nicely done. Pyjama nice bathtub who doesn't like having an iron and and hair dryer in the room. lovely breakfast including fresh waffle that you can make yourself and a nice location. Arrived very late to a very pleasant receptionist who recommended cracker bar and restaurant. Good atmosphere and good food .Thanks

"Great place"

lindaaL7297AW, Friendsville, Pennsylvania 01/10/2019

The accommodations were clean and the hotel is in a great location. I have stayed at this location multiple times as they also accept pets. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice that breakfast is included as well as coffee.

Thank you for leaving such wonderful comments about our property. I am so glad to hear that you have enjoyed the time that you have spent at our resort. I am a little confused about the score of a 1. Is there something that you did not like or something we could do better for next time? If there is please let us know as we are always striving to be better.

norm e, Towson, Maryland 01/10/2019

I was taught as a young boy if you can't say anything good about a person don't say anything. I have used that advise for well of 60 years. I am now about to apply that advice to this property, I AM SORRY TO SAY.

"One night get away"

User 30/09/2019

Although check in wasn't until 4:00 we arrived early was able to check in. We didn't need our room right away because we were going boating. When we arrived back our keys were waiting for us at the lobby desk.

"Outstanding staff and clean accomidations"

LastMinuteVacationer, Jacksonville, Florida 12/08/2019

This was a last minute trip and I was pleasantly surprised with the staff, rooms, and location. Plenty of spacious parking. Clean rooms, secure good functioning doors and locks. All the staff was attentive and knowledgeable.

A wonderful Best Western at a beautiful location. Such a warm, welcoming vibe in the area. Staff are so nice and helpful! Rooms are great. We have stayed two different times and both exceeded our expectations!

"Crystal river best western"

KRentschler, Dothan, Alabama 13/07/2019

I enjoyed staying at this hotel for our scalloping trip. We stayed during week so not too busy. The breakfast was very good. I don't like double beds or old hotel rooms, but for this area that is what you get. I will say it was very clean and staff was friendly.

"Fun place to stay"

User 07/07/2019

The location is great, right on the water with a board walk to Crackers and water front, sit on the benches watch the boats, birds and beautiful sunsets. Short walk to many things stores, shops and restaurants including Citrus ave. Rooms are clean good size and comfortable, staff are friendly and nice, and breakfast is included. My only complaints are with the breakfast it would be nice if they didn't serve plain scramble eggs every day, maybe add cheese and ham or maybe make up some omlets, plus serve fresh O.J., come on you're in Fl. and please put the TV on local news and weather not Fox news maybe some people like it but lots of people including me, we don't want to hear their B.S. Every time I'm in the area I enjoy my stay at the Crystal River B.W.

"Great value and location"

mabg68, Clearwater, Florida 30/06/2019

This hotel resort is an excellent bargain and in an excellent location! The rooms are standard hotel rooms and are spread out over five buildings on the property. Two of the back wings have views of King's Bay from the walkway. The pool is small but nice and there is also a hot tub on the pool deck. There is a boat launch, boat trailer parking and a dive shop on the premises that also rents kayaks, SUPs and pontoon boats. The staff was very friendly and the premises were spotlessly clean. The hot breakfast was plentiful and they vary the hot items daily. The weekend we were there it was mostly families and was very quiet. The location is excellent as you can walk to the cute little downtown Crystal River and also several nearby restaurants. This resort sits about mid Bay so it's also an easy paddle (about 30-45 mins) to Three Sisters Spring or Banana Island/ King Spring and maybe 20 minutes to Hunter Spring. I've stayed at other area hotels, including Plantation, and I feel this is the better deal and location!

"Weekend trip "

LauraLakeland, Lakeland 23/06/2019

Best Western was a great place to stay for weekend. On Crystal River next to Crackers(restaurant and tiki bar) so chose your room carefully. We actually had a room in the building that is next to the tiki bar and had no problem with noise. The pool is nice and the deck is supplied with lounge chairs to sit and watch the river activity. The hotel offers a boat dock and boat ramp if you bring a boat. The ramp is tight but we saw several larger boats launch from there. Staff was nice and the free breakfast was very good. Included waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal etc. lots of choices. There is a deck you are able to walk around on towards the tiki bar where there was live music being played. The hotel also offers gas grills and covered picnic tables by the water is you choose to use them. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will return again

"Enjoyed Out Stay"

User 17/06/2019

Good accommodations at a reasonable price. Wish rooms were on the waterfront, but at least it was walkable. Also close enough to walk was Crackers restaurant/bar and an ice cream shop. Loved the pool and loungers on the waterfront. Nice area to grill in the shade. Had a launch for our kayak too!

"Nice location and a clean room"

SierraEc, Pacifica, California 30/05/2019

Very nice location right on the water, though you can't see it from many of the rooms. Good restaurants close by and dive shop on site. Nice walkway on the waterfront. Pool and cabana right on the water's edge.

"Not kid friendly"

User 28/05/2019

Definitely not a place for children!! Too many intoxicated adults that roam over from the bar next door that act very inappropriate in front of children!! Also, large aggressive dogs were in the pool and walking around the hotel property and pool deck without being on a leash. A few times these dogs got in fights with each other. A hotel employee did come out one time after we complained about the dogs in the pool and the employee just told the dog owners to put them on a leash. As soon as the employee walked away the dogs were let back in the pool! On a positive note the breakfast was very good each morning!!

"Good location and amenities"

User 07/05/2019

We stayed for one night in mid-April. I chose this location because I could redeem points to cut down on the cost. It was an expensive hotel but I suspect that was not expensive for that area and location. The restaurant and bar attached are great. There was a live band and plenty of seating. The room was clean and comfortable although we do not love a street entrance (motel style). It seems less secure than a hallway entrance to the room. We would go back again if we got another deal on the price.

"Great Stay"

User 24/04/2019

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and in good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. The wide variety of items available for breakfast was really nice - much better than a continental style that provides little in the way of protein. We prefer breakfast at the hotel as its convenience gives us a quick start on the day. The location was excellent, minutes from the outdoor activities we came to the area to enjoy. The river walk was limited but still a nice place to end the day.

"NIce and comfortable"

Getaway54817351146, Dobson, North Carolina 19/04/2019

Its a great place to stay. Its right on the bay with a beautiful view of water. You can launch your boat or kayak right there on the premises. The breakfast is great and we enjoy the outdoor grills and picnic tables. Rooms are always clean.

"Will Definitely Stay Again"

Melissa W, New York 19/04/2019

Loved the Best Western in Crystal River beginning with making reservations directly to the hotel with Sam who made great room recommendations. Shelly was friendly and accommodating at check in. The view of the river is beautiful. The nice sized pool was clean and refreshing. Comfortable bed, nice pillows. Exceptionally clean room and bath. Good breakfast with a variety of options - nice large room with plenty of tables. Easy walk to several restaurants. Will definitely go back.

"Mini vacation @ crystal lake"

Ivonne S, Miami, Florida 11/04/2019

Property overlooking the river . Surrounding areas are a pleasure to see. Good breakfast and great staff. Marina on site with access to river and kayaks. Great restaurants Within walking distance. Overall satisfied with property and amenities. Must visit crystal lake.

User 11/04/2019

We had a few problems on arrival ac and toilet didn't work .. called the front desk they said they would send maintenance that never came called to leave hotel for any action to be taken .... when they did maintenance said he never was told about problems .... beds are horrible..... go down the road and spend the extra $30

"Lovely rooms, great breakfast and manatees swimming close to the deck"

TourerSussex, East Sussex, United Kingdom 08/04/2019

We had a ground floor room and we were able to park outside so not far to carry the luggage. The breakfast was great, lots to choose from and there were different things every day. We were lucky to see manatees swimming and feeding close to where we were standing on the deck. We would recommend this hotel and stay here again if we return to the area. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful too!

"Great Location!!"

User 08/04/2019

Enjoyed our short stay and loved being near the water. The restaurant next door was great! Could tell this was an older hotel, but was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel rooms. Staff was extremely friendly. When I have to visit for my company again I will be staying in this location again.

"Could not ask for better views"

User 08/04/2019

This location is spot on to all the activities, only downfall was the beds were not queens. Hot tub with sunset views and local manatee residents were the highlights of this family trip. Breakfast was an excellent choice.

"Threaten to call police"

dbowles06, Sevierville, Tennessee 05/04/2019

Went to check out the lady said that we need to pay for a second night, wanted to call my bank to make sure everything was on the up and up. Told my pops and he said yea call the bank, and he was talking to me and said that's there problem, I'm leaving. That lady who was on the phone said that she would call the police. Huh, why? Just because he threaten to leave doesn't mean anything, I am standing right in front of you trying to get my bank on the phone...The room is in my name. She starting running her mouth about him again to some other lady, doesn't matter what he says, I am right here. Don't threaten to call the Sheriff for no reason. Hot tub cold, terrible WiFi. Clean rooms, musk smell due to age I guess. Good location.

Cruiser63447159713, Enterprise, Alabama 02/04/2019

We arrived after midnight to check in h however the young man was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a great variety to choose from. We were on the water and enjoyed the board walk the next morning. Everything was within walking distance and will definitely be back for scallop season

"Safety Concerns"

User 29/03/2019

Loved the hotel's accommodations and staff, but am able to give this Best Western only 3 stars because of safety concerns. At the rooms' doorways, there is a shallow step up. Not expecting this (I'd never before seen this at any other hotel rooms.), I tripped on the step and fell into the room...luckily, no harm done. The cement steps going up to the 2nd floor are painted dark brown. Because of this, one step blends into the next especially when a guest walks down them. The first floor corridor is also painted dark brown, so there is a danger of guests missing the bottom step as they descend. Yellow paint has been applied to the edges of the steps leading into the lobby, this needs to be done on all steps. Also noticed...very loose railing on stairs leading to parking lot, no grab bars in shower/tub.

"Wow amazing place!!!"

elskertravel, Tallahassee, Florida 28/03/2019

This is a lovely hotel close to everything. Beautiful view of the river and right on the water. We had a room upstairs by the dive shop and and the view was fantastic. The staff was friendly and breakfast was abundant. Walking distance to everything, dive shop, manatee tours, restaurants, we even walked to city hall to ride the trolly to see the manatees in three sisters. We will be back!!!

"Enjoyed every minute!"

User 28/03/2019

We have been to this hotel twice now and we LOVE it here. The front desk ladies were very friendly and checked us in with no problems, they always had a smile on their faces and greeted us each time they seen us. My first impression as we walked into the room was it was very spacious and clean and the housekeepers did an amazing job on our room each day we were there, our beds were always made nicely, table tops were wiped down and clean towels restocked. Breakfast bar was well stocked each morning and the food was wonderful. The location is convenient to everything you want to do in Crystal River. This Hotel sits right on Kings Bay, so enjoyed spending each night watching the sun go down relaxing in the lounge chairs by the water. It was so peaceful and our time there was absolutely wonderful.

"An amazing family trip"

User 28/03/2019

We came to Crystal River to see the manatees, seen The Best Western and stopped in to see if they had anything available in which they did. What an amazing resort, they have a huge breakfast with a menu that changes daily, the staff was so helpful and answered any question I threw at them. We will be back to enjoy this amazing resort with family.

"Nice stay for 1 night"

User 28/03/2019

This hotel was a nice stay for one night for my family. Only downside was that there was no blanket available for the pullout couch so we had to go ask the front desk. The lady at the front desk helped us, but she seemed a bit overwhelmed and bothered that we had to come ask for help.

"Nice place to stay in Crystal River"

mike1750, Palmer Ma. 20/03/2019

We spent several nights here in March and found it pleasant. The room was clean and it was quiet. The only problem I had was we booked through Priceline and when we arrived we were assigned to a smoking room. Neither of us smokes and we wanted a non-smoking room. The person at the front desk said that she wasn't supposed to change anything booked through priceline. We persisted and she said there was one non smoking room left. We took that room but when we checked in we discovered it has 2 double beds instead of a queen as we had requested. We decided to make the most of it though. The location of the motel was convenient to area attractions. The free breakfast was good and the breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a pool and hot tub there but unfortunately it was a little too cold to enjoy them. There was a nice walk by the river and there was also a restaurant next to the motel. It wasn't the most extravagant place that we stayed but it met our needs.

"Filthy carpet "

User 20/03/2019

The carpet was so dirty, socks after walking on carpet were filthy. Complained to front desk just excuses given. Room could be updated. WiFi was terrible. Only managed to use it by sitting by window sometimes. Otherwise nice location, close to attractions.

"Old style motel"

Camper07744463133, Naples, Florida 18/03/2019

Not what we expected for a Best Western... I have severe asthma and was not advised that I had to walk up stairs to second floor. In a separate building and had to walk to main building for breakfast. To find the next morning there was a New Hampton Inn just down the street. Also they would not allow me to use my BW points or give me a seniors rate. It was promoted as a resort ... don't think so.

"Awesome location right on the water"

942kendallp, Loveland, Colorado 17/03/2019

We picked this location because it appeared to be on the water, which it was. It also had a pool area right next to the water and a cute little boardwalk along the water that was short, but fun . The restaurant next door had live music the night we were out and about...a Sunday, which added to the whole experience. I feel like the price was decent. The breakfast bar had a lot of options...all the waffles, pastries, and toast my husband likes along with oatmeal and fruit, which I like,

"Not pet friendly"

User 17/03/2019

Pet policy does not allow dogs to be left in the kennel in the room - dogs have to leave hotel with the owner. NOT a word about this on website in pet policy section. All other hotels planned for the trip do allow that. I cannot swim with manatees with my dog.. Had to cancel last moment, lost money and booked another hotel in the area which does allow dogs to stay in the room.

"Good value for March in Florida"

AnotherHappyTraveler, Baltimore, Maryland 14/03/2019

A moderately priced, well maintained, quiet and clean older motel with good breakfast options. Bed was comfortable and shower had good pressure. A nice place to return to after a day of manatee sightings and state park visits.

"Nice Hotel in great location"

James H, Otto, North Carolina 10/03/2019

Very nice hotel with great location. Close to water and restaraunts, and downtown area. Beds are on the hard side and wifi signal can be on the low side. The breakfast area was the best I've seen in long time. The breakfast hostess Kim is outstanding.

"smelly dirty carpet"

672bonniec, Marengo, Illinois 07/03/2019

overall a decent enough place, but the aroma in our room was less than desirable. Something smelled dirty and something had been sprayed to cover it up. After 48 hours on the carpet with socks on our feet, we realized how filthy our sox were and we were only using them as slippers. We started using our flip flops as slippers and never let our bare feet touch the carpet after that. Brought home 4 pair of very filthy and stained sox which are now forever stained. The room was 2110 and desperately needs a shampooed carpet or replacement.

"Weekend visit"

TRVLMOM5, Sarasota, Florida 06/03/2019

I wasn't at all sure of the decision to stay there but it was close to Pete's Pier, where we were to meet a local fish guide for an adventure. Check-in was quick, efficient and smooth with very friendly trio of staff at the desk. Our room was clean, neat and exactly as described. I was surprised to see the venue has its own boat ramp for guests and we enjoyed a little walk along the riverfront right into the back side of our dinner plan - Crackers! All in all, I don't feel I judged the motel fairly - a nice weekend away with convenience and cozy accommodations.

"Good find"

troz03, Ray, Michigan 02/03/2019

Our room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was very good. Something different each day, someone always there cleaning up and filling what needed to be filled. Good choices of food. They ladies at check in/out were very kind. It was a good experience!!

"One night ok"

User 02/03/2019

The staff are friendly and the breakfast was great. The room smelt musty and the bed wasn't the best. Pillows small but ok. The bathroom was large and clean. loved the coconut shampoo. It was great you could park right in front of your room

"Helpful Staff, Nice location"

KLCphoto, Boston, Massachusetts 28/02/2019

This is a large property with many buildings - we were originally put in the building that abuts the restaurant Crackers - it was a Friday night and they had loud live music that we could clearly hear in our room. Although the hotel was close to capacity, Kathy at the front desk was able to move us to a quieter room on the other side of the campus that was perfect for us. We really appreciated her efforts for us and otherwise enjoyed our stay. The pool and waterfront area is beautiful and the breakfast very good. Thank you Best Western!

User 27/02/2019

This hotel was very, very clean and the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. One of the best free breakfasts we have had. Lots of choices including waffles, eggs, hash, fresh fruit, a yogurt machine...lots of toppings and more. The breakfast room is summy has lots of tables. Plenty of space so you don't feel like you are cramped. Room was large with very comfortable beds...althpugh a bit high. Nice easy chair and ottoman. A short walk across the parking lot brings you to CRACKERS, a local restaurant/bar. Nice menu, friendly staff and one of the best burgers we have ever eaten. If i had to criticize anything-there is no elevator to 2nd floor rooms. The stairs are very steep. Highly recommend staying here ...we will retuen when in this area

"Nice accomodations with quiet rooms."

User 22/02/2019

The hotel served its purpose with quiet rooms for a family to stay. The hot tub still doesn't work since Feb 13 so that was a work in progress but the staff was very understanding and tried to make it happen. As a hotel (and maybe chain) they should get rid of styrofoam and also have "eco rules" for towels, soap to get up to the standards nationally, avoid waste, and especially in such an environmentally sensitive area. Go Green and you've got this Best Western!

"Safe, comfortable, clean, entertaining"

User 19/02/2019

I would say the best place to stay to experience time with the manatees. The pool overlooks the river. Walk right to boat tours, fishing charter boat, kayak, trolley ride, and dining. Short drive to beach and movies.

"Just great people"

Richard C, Newville 18/02/2019

I,m looking forward to returning to this facility for some special R&R. All employee's treated me like Gold and I appreciate that and it was a great place to just relax. The location of this motel, Best Western in Crystal River, close to great food, beautiful view of the water, excellent tourist area, and very easy to drive and see the immediate area.

"Perfect location!"

User 17/02/2019

Great staff. Really nice breakfast room. The restaurant and tiki bar next door add so much to this place. Relaxed atmosphere and good food. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. We will definatly return!

"Simple place did the job"

jennifersP9214RQ, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 17/02/2019

Stayed here for one nite. Everyone was nice, place was clean. Rooms are a bit old school but that can be kinda fun. Beds were mediocre. Breakfast was phenomenal- one of the best complementary breakfast we have had at a hotel in a long time. If you're looking for a simple place for a reasonable price then this is it.

"Feb 2019"

User 13/02/2019

Pool is not heated. Hot tub does not work. Otherwise ok. Good breakfast selection and plenty of seating. Standard room. No exercise room. Close to manatee parks. Lots of cute lunch spots around. Nice staff.

"Crystal River Best Western"

mcqfox, Yorktown, VA 11/02/2019

Staff was cheerful and helpful. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Free WIFI The breakfast was an expanded continental with fresh fruit, hot cofffee, waffles and eggs. Other items varied and a menu was posted.

"Nice property"

Ed H, Orlando 11/02/2019

Crystal River is a lovely area for families. Several parks close to the hotel including a small park on the river where the manatees gather during the winter. Room was good sized, 2 queens. Decent assortment for breakfast fare. I liked that there was some variation from day to day. Sausage gravy and biscuits, along with eggs. Additional pastries for Sunday!

"Nice place would stay again"

thebigtiny, Palmer, Alaska 09/02/2019

Stopped here because we were tired of driving. Over all appearance of hotel is very nice. We had a king bed efficiency room. The room was very nice. And was partially updated. As usual my pet peeve are the low rider miniature toilets very low to the ground and very small. The toilets need to be updated to bigger and taller toilets! Our room had a 42 inch flat screen very nice and s new mini split AC system also very nice!. The bed was very uncomfortable for me but beds are very subjective as it depends on the person. Staff was very friendly. We would stay here again .

"Great place to stay if you're swimming with the manatees."

User 07/02/2019

This place has a wonderful free breakfast with a menu that changes daily and extended hours. The room was adequate and within walking distance to Birds Underwater. The housekeeping staff was excellent, especially Rianna.

"Enjoying Warm Weather"

Kathy M, Birmingham 07/02/2019

We escaped the bitter cold weather of the upper Midwest by driving several days to the Gulf. We enjoy staying at the Best Western Crystal River Resort because it is on the water and has great accommodations and friendly staff. It did not disappoint us and we hope to return again next winter.

"very nice resort"

Traveler13779646898, Colorado Springs, Colorado 05/02/2019

The room was very nice and clean.the breakfast was very good with several items to choose from, the room was very was nice to be next to the bay,and be able to go on tours of the bay, also fishing and snorkeling.

"The best place for Manatee visits"

User 03/02/2019

Thisnis the best place to stay in Crystal River. I agree, there are nicer Best Western hotels, but this is the BEST place in Crystal River. There is a boat landing in the parking lot for kayakers or motor boats, a great pool too... We tried to go to one of the cheaper places in town.. we walked in and right back out, refund please.

"Road trip"

User 02/02/2019

The price was way to high I have stayed in lots of Best Western motels this is highest I ever stayed in there were no extras.T he breakfast was good but nothing special had to walk along way to office and lobby

Deborah B, Anthony, Florida 28/01/2019

I can't say enough about this place! First I will start with the location. Its on the river, with a bait house, boat ramp and you can walk to Crackers restaurant for food and drinks in the Tiki Bar. We stayed in room 2102. Even though we didn't ask for it, they put us in a very nice handicapped room with a king size bed. When making the reservations on their website, I had asked to have a king size room instead of the 2 double beds, and we couldn't be happier they were able to get this done for us! Bed was firm and comfy with plenty of pillows. The breakfast was great! Two waffle makers, sausage gravy & biscuits, eggs, sausage, fruits, pastries, etc. They have a different menu every day. The staff were all very nice. We will definitely be coming back!

"A Motel Style Hotel in Crystal River"

MonkeyMeetsRabbit, Calgary, Canada 26/01/2019

We stayed in Best Western for 2 nights in January 2019. I was expecting the Best Western hotel standard of accommodation but was a bit disappointed. The "hotel" complex consists of multiple 2-story buildings. After we check in at the front lobby, we had to drive around the block to find our building in the complex. The stairways are outdoor and there are no elevators to get to the second floor. the common corridor is outdoor as well. The room door opens directly to the outdoor corridor facing the parking lot. We stayed in a room with a king-sized bed and a small kitchenette. The room is spacious with enough room for one sofa, one sofa chair, and a round breakfast table that sits 4 people. However, the amenities are somewhat outdated. There is a key-and-lock style safe to store your valuables, which we did not feel safe to use. The shower room is very small and there is no ventilation. After taking a shower, we had to open the frosted window in the bathroom to let the moisture out. There were only a thin blanket on the bed and no comforter/quilt. Since we went in January, it got quite cold at night and we had to ask for another blanket, but was told they are out of blankets! The mattress is also sagging and we woke up with a sore lower back. Breakfast is complimentary and is the standard type of breakfast you can get in any chain hotels in a small town. There are restaurants nearby and a dive shop.

"Clean & Friendly"

User 25/01/2019

Beautiful location in downtown Crystal River - hotel was very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Had to switch dates at the last minute and hotel couldn't match prices so it cost me an extra $100 but it was in the middle of manatee festival

"Trip to Crystal River"

billyrtuttle77, Sapulpa, Oklahoma 24/01/2019

Nice hotel by the water with pool and hot tub and it's own boat ramp. Room was clean and staff nice and helpful. Beds was great and had several pillows to choose from. Hot tub was very large but not as hot as we like it but warm enough.

"Best Western - Crystal River"

User 22/01/2019

We were so tired driving home from Key West when we stopped here. It's not fancy - but nice and clean. The beds are sooo comfortable and the employees are very nice. A good night's rest for a weary traveler.

"Too expensive, for what you get ."

stephencE7344BH, Winnipeg, Canada 21/01/2019

The hotel was ok for a night . The price was way to high for a standard Best Western , The location was good . The fan in the heating- cooling system was so noisy. We could not use it . The staff was very friendly.

"Comfortable place to stay"

Victoria O, Shanghai, China 20/01/2019

We booked in for 3 nights. We arrived via greyhound and it took roughly 15-20 minutes to walk to the hotel. There was lots of parking available as most common way to arrive seems to be car. Many guests had dogs with them but they didn't disturb us. The check in was easy and the lady serving us very friendly. We had a comfortable stay- beds were comfy, shower good and the room had basic amenities; fridge, hairdryer, tv, towels etc. There were bottles of shampoo, but there wasn't enough for one wash in it and it wasn't refilled. The location is good- it has a short boardwalk facing the sunsets and leading to a local restaurant which is convenient but not the best food we had. There was a garage 5/10 mins walk away for basic supplies (water/ chocolate!) and it was a good base to walk to the main street/ round to the dive centres for manatees. The breakfast was really yummy- was disappointed that it with disposable plates and cutlery and also surprised given the emphasis placed on protecting the environment here. Would love to see them cut down on their single use plastics. Overall a pleasant stay- we will probably use them again.

"One of the joys of crystal river"

oddbod1808, Marton, United Kingdom 08/01/2019

Friendly welcome aside this was a great stopover in our tour of Florida's out of the way places. Perfect for manatee viewings especially in the winter months when they flock to the warm springs. Clean comfortable rooms, great beds and a filling breakfast when we come back to crystal river this will be our stop.

"excellent location,"

Mepps W, El Dorado Hills, California 07/01/2019

Super friendly staff !! very helpful, clean rooms, great breakfasts, reasonable rates , clean property! Got to meet the owner and he was very appreciative of our repeated bookings. I will be back. MANATEES BABY! Next door to Crackers, great food and drink ! Just be careful to spray down with repellent. NOSEUM FLYS WILL ATTACK YOU !!

"Access to the gulf, great view"

User 04/01/2019

We picked this place because we wanted to take out our kayaks out to the spring's in the area to see the manatees and it has a launching area, also right on the water, beautiful view of the ocean. Rooms were clean, best Breakfast choices I have ever had at any hotel, the cleaning ladies and staff in the breakfast room was very friendly. My only issues was the Assistant Manager on duty was very short with a negative vibe and rude attitude,on top of that she told us the pool was heated, there is no way that could be since it was colder than the ocean and springs. Would stay again, and I hope the Assistant Manager receives some customers service training. Should at least feel welcomed to the hotel when checking in.

"Best Western Crystal River excellent!"

Anne W, Orangeburg, South Carolina 02/01/2019

Very good location right by dive shop and water, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and nice clean rooms. The staff at front desk were helpful as we planned our days. We declined room cleaning after first night but were given clean towels and coffee.

"Nicer hotels in immediate area for way less."

Andrea S, Weston, Florida 02/01/2019

Lousy customer service. Booked and paid for a king size bed on river wing, for which I paid a bit more, online months before. Requested early check-in, which I understand can't be guaranteed. Arrived at hotel at 2:00. Check-in according to website was at 4:00. Was told room was not ready. Ok, It can happen. Was not offered pool pass, towel, to leave luggage, nada. Was told to come back at 3:00. Fine.Came back at 3:45. Was told by same check-in person. Sorry, nothing yet. It's 3:45. Was told check-in starts at 4:00 but can go to 6:00. If I wanted the room I booked I would have to wait until 6:00. Was offered a Handicap room with open shower ( water all over the place, bad room) queen bed. I couldn't wait until 6:00 and took the room. When I asked to be reimbursed the difference in room rate, my wonderful check-in person looked at me like I had three heads. None forthcoming. Not worth the aggravation. Didn't want to ruin my trip any ore than it had been. But won't be staying there again. Ever.

"Found mold - musty rooms - poor customer service"

Tim S, Miami, Florida 01/01/2019

My family stayed at the BW Christmas Day. We found mold on plates, dirty dishes, and a poorly cleaned room. Management only wanted to provide credit for a day and when we asked to leave the hotel they said it was prepaid (it was not). I spent hours trying to resolve and even spoke to corporate who said that onsite management did not find the mold dishes (see picture). On top of that the rooms are musty and super outdated. Not worth at all the price. At Best Western and Management. You can do better. Feel free to message me back you have all my information. Tim S

"Beautiful view of Crystal River!"

MaryO0626, Atlanta, Georgia 20/12/2018

Our room was clean and spacious. Our view was excellent. The staff were so friendly and professional. The breakfast was the best I have had for a complementary service. The pool was so cute with a mama & baby manatee.

"Great Place!"

Pat M, Boulder, Colorado 02/12/2018

Clean room. Large bathroom counter. Fridge with freezer larger than most. Comfortable bed. Good wifi. Breakfast offerings were amazing. So many healthy choices, all with lots of toppings. Even the coffee was good! Walking distance to good restaurants and to the Trolley for Crystal River SP to see the manatees. My only criticism is that there was no TV guide imbedded nor was there a channel lineup provided. Makes it tough to figure out which channel is cbs (for example.)

User 20/11/2018

This hotel is not what you expect of a resort and is super over-priced. You have high hopes when checking in, but it gets worse once you get in the room, then even worse at the gnat-infested pool/hot tub area. There's no elevator to your outside-entrance room, and we had TWO bugs in our room. The whole set up was awkward, and beds are small & not comfortable. I called the front desk to complain about our constant running toilet (annoying to no end), and was put on a never-ending hold, so I guess fixing it or switching rooms wasn't an option. I was never able to get the staff back on the phone! Breakfast was decent. This place was not what you expect! I don't know what other options you have, but exhaust them all before deciding to waste your money here. P.S.- CRACKER'S RESTAURANT beside the hotel IS worth your money!

"Don't stay here."

TennesseeHappyCamper, Tennessee 03/11/2018

This hotel is not at all as advertised and is way over priced. It is definitely not a "resort". Staff and hotel we're not at all what I have come to expect from Best Western. Take my advice and find a different hotel.

"Great Place to Stay"

User 25/10/2018

Had a good stay in Crystal River- and recent renovations to the hotel are nice. The on site boating facilities (launch and trailer storage) and dive shop are nice. And the restaurant next door serves good food.

"Location, Location, Location"

Trail805215, Alachua,Florida 21/10/2018

The location of this hotel on King's Bay is perfect for anything you want to do in the Crystal River area. It's very close to downtown shops and restaurants and minutes to attractions in Crystal River, Yankeetown, and Homosassa Springs. The breakfast is great and staff is friendly and helpful.

"Not so Best any more!"

William G, Jacksonville, Florida 05/10/2018

Last two visits were way below the old norm. Since the management change thing are slipping! One visit my room was not made up or cleaned, when booking another stay they would not offer any discount for the issues. Many times I have requested a specific room or ground floor and it's just another fight at the front desk. After over 20 years of staying at this property I have resolved to stay at The Plantation!

"Nice Hotel Exactly What You Want in This Price Range"

Jessi0922, Key Largo, Florida, USA 24/09/2018

My family was very pleased with our stay here. The check-in staff and breakfast room staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable (the only small complaint is the initial musty smell upon entering, but that's what you get with carpet in Florida and people entering with wet bathing suits). We stayed in one of the suites with the small kitchenette and I was impressed with how well they had it stocked. Pillows and beds were as comfortable. It was very quiet we heard no noise (and there was even a dog in the next room to us). The free breakfast was very good, my whole family was impressed with the hot options that were included. Pool overlooks a little of the river, but is just OK. That didn't, of course, stop the kids from having a great time. We went in September during the week, so it was more like our own private pool but if it were busy there wouldn't be much room to swim. Overall I was very happy with this hotel for it's price. I did book through a different site and got almost $100 off the 2 nights versus booking through the hotel so check various sites for a deal because I may not have been as happy with hotel if I paid that much for it.

"Clean & Comfortable"

ellieruth, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 20/09/2018

We came to Crystal River to escape Hurricane Florence. This hotel was exactly what we needed during a stressful time. Not only was the room extremely clean & comfortable, but also pet friendly. The complimentary breakfast had great options and was well managed. The location is great, right on the water, and beside a restaurant with an outside waterfront bar. Minutes away from all of our points of interest, this was a perfect place to stay in Crystal River, and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area.

"Escape from florence"

I enjoy staying at Best Western Crystal River Fla. the rooms are clean and ready for you to relax after a long drive. i have stayed there many times enjoyed breakfast, pool and a newspaper when i wanted sit and read. Of coarse thats not all you can do while staying here. there is a Dive Shop on site for trips to see Manatees, Fishing Charters, Scuba Diving adventures, and if you walk around you will find restaurants ice cream shop. Soon you will find your not but a few steos away from Downtown with more shops promoting Florida's Nature Coast.

"Great Hotel"

We loved this hotel. Very clean, perfect location and great staff! Loved the pool, spa, breakfast and location!!! Two manatees even swam up by the docs! We will definitely stay here again next year when we visit.

"The most awful check in experience - had to cancel"

lauriek, Port Richey, Florida 04/09/2018

I booked this resort a week before labor day weekend. The lady I booked with very nice and professional. We arrived early on 9/3 and the lady, (Dawn) as her manager friend (Brian) also rude called her, was so rude, no name tag, first thing she said was oh you are here early in a condescending way. We just wanted to see if we can check in early and explore the area. The place was empty, she said we can only store electronic devices and also did not say we can use any of the facilities and to come back at 4pm to check in. My friend asked her if there were any maps, she said for what hotel or downtown, we said both. She was just so nasty and rude. We were able to cancel this hotel and go down the street with excellent customer service and had a great time. It was a blessing in disguise.

"Great Family Vacation"

Susie A, Clearwater, Florida 02/09/2018

Lovely rooms, a cute pool by the water and one of the most thoughtful breakfast buffets we've seen to date. Our room came with free breakfast, which usually means a lackluster affair, but not here! Kim and Sue and the rest of the staff have put together a delightful breakfast buffet with a waffle station the grandkids adored, an oatmeal station, eggs biscuits gravy sausage etc Where Starting off our day of adventure well fed!

"Very accommodating"

20patricialg, Tampa, Florida 13/08/2018

I reserved 4 rooms for family. Check-in was very fast. There was a boat lot to park our boat at night with a private boat ramp to use. The breakfast was free with a big selection. For dinner just walked to the Crackers restaurant next door. Everything was so convenient.

"Stopped to break up a trip travel in half"

Very pleasant and cleans stay. Had made a mistake on the initial reservation but Kathy was able to get it straightened out. She was a pleasant, person to work with and very professional. Highly recommend in the future.

"Great stay"

ROBERT P, PALM BAY 27/07/2018

Went during the week to stay away from the craziness of scalloping weekends. Sam at the front desk is great! Clean room, well kept for an older property. Used the pool once, nice pool and big hot tub. One complaint would be the barbecue grills never get hot. Takes 30 min to reach 350.

"Scalloping 2018"

mbs33409, Alva, Florida 21/07/2018

We have been scalloping and staying at this best western several years now. We had over 20 people and 8 rooms this year. I agree with the previous comments about one certain assistant manager that was very rude to everyone in our party during check in. When our group made reservations several months ago we were assured we would be in same building. During check in we discovered this did not happen and Dawn did not care or try and resolve the issue. It is not a good start to our vacation. Also it has been mentioned that the breakfast policy is crazy. It feels like going to a boot camp with guards watching. The breakfast staff once you get inside was very helpful but you better make sure your group as all there tickets. I've travelled all over the world and I've never seen such a strict breakfast policy. It's plain ridiculous. Needless to say we are looking for a new place to spend our vacation next year.

"Hope this spurs a change!"

Susan Y, Lighthouse Point, Florida 17/07/2018

Stayed overnight at the Best Western Crystal River Resort while on a road trip north. There are several two floor buildings with the rooms opening to the parking lots. If you are physically weakened, note that there are no elevators here. Best Western has updated an older hotel, popcorn ceilings and small bathrooms, pretty well. However the towels are much too small, the bottom sheet didn't fully fit either mattress and the pillows were beyond awful. On the positive side, the room comes with a nice small refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Staying overnight includes breakfast in their main building. Unfortunately I find it hard to believe they call themselves a resort. A resort to me implies nice bedding and towels at the least. Until there is change I'll try the Hampton Inn down the road.

"Weekend Getaway"

osbornecarolyn36, Eustis, Florida 17/07/2018

The whole experience at this hotel was top class. From the check in, room accommodation, dining, riverfront relaxation, pool and Jacuzzi, nearness to beaches. All in all a most pleasant stay and will def do again.

"2018 Scallop Season"

The_1st_IslandDoctor, Daytona Beach, Florida 09/07/2018

4 couples, 45-60yo. 2nd year staying at the BW Crystal River. Brought our own boat. This place has a PRIME location! Private boat ramp, free overnight docks, pool, 3 BBQ's, large tables for self-made group dinners on the dock and amazing views across the marina, especially at sunset. Rooms are dated but clean and very functional with small refrigerator & freezer, microwave, comfortable beds and modestly appointed rooms with great A/C. The free breakfast are marginal at best but enough to get you offshore. Availability of ice was also marginal, but bags of ice available down the street. 2 relatively good restaurants next door, all connected by marina boardwalk. Downside..... this is a kids place! In the evening, on returning from fishing, minimum of 20 young kids in the pool, including babies in diapers. In retrospect, perfect location for young families with kids going out fishing, perfect place for our group, except for the relaxing sunset dip in the pool which was, sort of, nasty. The BBQs are brand new from last year but never got hot enough to put a sear on steaks....meat/seafood came off with a “boiled” look. In the end, this is a great location for jumping off to great fishing and scallop season and we will stay here again.

"Great spot. TERRIBLE service!"

User 08/07/2018

The hotel rating is a 5, but the ast manager Dawn was so horrific (I'll come back to that later in the post) that her rating is a 0 - so I'll even it out and say a 3. We came with family and got 3 rooms. All of them were clean and what you would expect. The kitchen efficiencies were small - but manageable for a few small items. Don't expect lots of space for food or cooking- but it had a toaster and a small burner stove. Our room was on the second (top) floor - if you like to sleep in, top floor isn't for you. There were two giant skylights right over our bed. We didn't mind because we wanted to get up early anyway - but if you are sensitive to morning light it's something to ask about. The location of the hotel is GREAT. You can walk to crackers restaurant/bar/grill and there is a boat ramp and a few spots to dock up. Lots of big parking lots of boats and trailers. Very close to Pete's pier so If you need ice or to gas up it's convenient. They serve a nice hearty breakfast that comes with your stay. Now - I have to post this in hopes that some upper management or corporate can read how horrific their staff is. When we arrived there was a woman at the front desk literally SCREAMING into the phone at a guest. She was not only unprofessional but extremely rude to the person on the phone bht also us - that's the first thing we saw coming in. I could tell the guest was asking to speak w her supervisor and she said “let me speak to YOUR supervisor”. It was so awkward. Then we had another encounter with her. My husband wasn't feeling great so I went to walked to breakfast to meet everyone and I had his ticket for breakfast. There were THREE (yes 3) employees “guarding” the breakfast room (there were only 8 guests in the dining room at the time). I handed a nice both tickets not knowing how th h worked and dawned snatched them out of my hand - scolding me for having two, asking me how I got two. Checking the dates and demanding why I had two, I explained my hubby wasn't feeling great but he would be there soon. I asked if I could just hang on to his or keep it with them and then give it to him when he came. Damn demanded that I had to go back to my room and give my husband the ticket and come together! I couldn't stay and give it to him when he got there because I wasn't allowed to leave and come back in... even tho it was literally empty and they could have seen me hand it to him. She was EXTREMELY rude to me it was horrific. First accusing me of stealing a ticket then making me leave and Go back to my room or else if we didn't come together we couldn't eat. I went to see her name and she convenient wasn't wearing a name tag both times, tho everyone else was. When I went to the front desk she barked at me “what do you want?” - I just took a card and left and asked another employee what her name was. They seem scared of her. I was SHOCKED to see the card had her name and “ast manager” - she had the absolute worst customer service skills I have ever seen in my life. Hopefully someone will see this and make some changes because it was embarrassing...

"Weekend getaway."

Sheliad, Loughman, Fl 02/07/2018

The hotel was awesome. The pool, brand new gas grills, boat dock and Crackers were all within a close walking distance. The ONLY complaint I had was I was told when I booked the room that I could use my AARP discount so I made sure my AARP enrollment had not expired only to find out when we arrived they would not accept it because Sunday, July 1st was the start of scallop season. Sunday, was also the day we were leaving, no one in our party were interested in the craziness of getting involved in that so we left at 10:00 on Sunday. Either they need to revisit their policies or train ALL of their employees to be on the same page. One more thing, they had a wonderful continental breakfast and they gave each person a coupon to go and enjoy it. How much money are they saving to have an employee stand there to make sure no one goes in without a coupon and eat? It's not like they had the type of food that was really expensive and their bottom line would be affected. I was okay with it and I would not have mentioned any of this until I had to leave the dining area to go and get our cousin's medicine that he had to take before he could eat, only to be stopped by the guard at the door leading into the dining room, I said, "I will be right back is that okay?" She was about to say no, but I stopped her and said, "I am going to get medicine for our cousin that he has to have." And then her hackles went back down and said ok. OMG, really? Maybe they have had issues with too many people taking advantage of their 5 star dining, I don't know and I am not an expert on financial things, however, I know the cost of having someone guard the door into the dining room has to far exceed the lost revenue from someone taking a few eggs, waffles, juice and such, if this were to ever occur. Would we go back, absolutely, I just think people should be aware and don't go thinking you're going to get breakfast without a coupon, please do not try this, you would probably be sent straight to jail! LOL

"Our second or third time at this location"

watercop, Florida 19/06/2018

The only minus was a slippery tub. Other than that everything was as good this time as the other times we have stayed here. Nice comfortable bed, quiet, clean, friendly, all the things we expect from Best Western.

"Nice place"

NormyD, Plantersville, Alabama 16/06/2018

We had a 2 night stay here. The room was nice and clean. Our only problem was with the neighbors dogs barking constant for hours. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be staying there on our next trip to crystal river.

"Updated room"

Starviagera, Los Angeles, California 24/05/2018

Comfortable and clean with nice linens. The refrigerator was noisy. We checked the balcony room and there isn't a good view. Get the regular room. We were in the building behind the office. We went to the shrimp boat marina and bought lunch at the fish store. Took it to the river behind the pool. Breakfast was a bit better than normal chains. No plain yogurt!

"Very bad experience, flea infestation"

User 22/05/2018

Checked in to this hotel earlier today. The room had a very musty smell and the sheets felt somewhat damp but that was not the worst part. After taking off my shoes and standing on the floor for less than two minutes my feet and legs were covered with fleas. It appeared that the room was infested with them. The hotel refused to provide any refund at all. Regardless, I immediately left and booked a different hotel. I would not recommend staying in this hotel. Poor customer service as well.

"Good Location"

JimandBunny, Atlanta 15/05/2018

This is an "older" Best Western. The location is good being right on the river. And within walking distance of restaurants and bars. Room clean but dated, Breakfast buffet very good. A bit pricey ($140 all in) for an older establishment.

"Friendly, clean hotel"

Chris J, Manchester, United Kingdom 12/05/2018

Stayed for 2 nights in early May, our spacious room was very comfortable and clean. The waterside location was ideal as was the pool. Plenty of resturants nearby. A boat trip on the Crystal river is recommended

"Very Bad Experience - Warning"

Kelly G, Punta Gorda, Florida, United States 05/05/2018

Just stayed at BW Crystal River last night and it wasn't at all like the previous reviews indicated. The room was musty smelling, the ceiling of the bathroom had mildew on it. The frig was fixed right after checking in (had water in the freezer since it had been turned off). Found out that the window AC was leaking when I stepped on wet carpeting right before going to bed. The garbage truck came and emptied the dumpster right near our room at 3:30am. Then in the morning the shower head FLEW off during my shower, just missing my head and landing hard in the tub (missing my toes thankfully), spraying water everywhere. Had to finish with a sponge bath. I will say that the bed was comfortable and looked relatively new. When I took the shower head to the front desk, she didn't react at all - maybe it happens frequently. She just asked if she needed to open an incident report. No concern at all. She said I should have called and they would have sent someone right over to fix it. I explained that I was in the shower at the time (not dressed). Went to breakfast and then back to the room after an hour. When I checked out, she asked it had been fixed and it had not. AND the price of the room was crazy high for May - $217 before taxes. Will never stay there again. Recommend the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn. They looked to be much newer.

"Excellent Accomodations"

User 28/04/2018

We had a very pleasant stay at the Crystal River Best Western. We have stayed here several times over the years- and have seen it improve over the years. Recent renovations have made it even more pleasurable to come to. With local fishing, scalloping, and manatee and eco tours- festivals and more, there is always something to do. Especially since the Best western has its own boat launch and trailer storage- although the marina accommodations are somewhat limited. There are a couple restaurants we consider good within walking distance.

"Friendly staffs"

User 28/04/2018

The staffs were really good and helpful in helping us with the directions and recommendations. The room is nice and clean but some rooms lack hanging space for those who need to hang wetsuit after the diving trip. Other than that, good location, near the dive shop and restaurants

"Nice place/pet friendly "

User 22/04/2018

We came for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This hotel is one of the nicer ones around. The room was nice and very clean. No odor. All rooms are pet friendly ($10/night fee). We had a room with 2 beds. The walking space was limited so if you have 4 people it could definitely get crowded. Staff was friendly. They have a boat ramp on site and boat slips. The boat slips don't cost extra. But they are first come, first serve. So when you go out on your boat, you aren't guaranteed a boat slip when you get back. They have a large area for trailer parking. Breakfast is free and they have a decent variety. They have a pool. Also, a separate area with tables and 3 large grills to use by the pool. Crackers bar and grill is right next door. We will definitively stay here again!

"Very nice stay; Great Staff"

Bruce D, Wilmington, Delaware 21/04/2018

I've stayed at this Best Western before, so know what to expect; a friendly, helpful staff, clean and up to date rooms, a quiet night's sleep, a great breakfast bar with more options than normally provided by other chains (I just wish they would add bacon), and a very nice, popular restaurant and bar just next door (Crackers), for lunches and dinners; and evenings on the patio on the waterfront.

User 19/04/2018

This hotel has made several improvements over the past year to the landscaping and parking areas. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a boat ramp access and trailer storage area. Good all around value for work or pleasure.

"One Night Stay"

Sandra J, Lexington, Kentucky 14/04/2018

This hotel was worth what was paid. It was conveniently close to the Manatee dive we were going on. The breakfast included hot items such as corned beef hash and scrambled eggs. It was a plus because it was a step above a continental breakfast. The food was decent. There was also fresh fruit and a waffle maker. The bed was comfortable and the room was a decent size. The only fault was the outdoor heated pool that was not "heated". The water was cold. I would have given 5 stars if not for the pool and no elevator for a second floor room. I was given a second floor room and assuming there would be an elevator, was surprised when I got to the building and there wasn't room. I went back and got a room on the first floor but feel there should be an elevator.

"Musty Motel, the word "Resort" needs to be removed from their description"

Monica W, Rochester, New York 08/04/2018

I don't usually do reviews unless I've had a bad or great experience, in this case our experience was pretty bad. We had two rooms next to each other, 1104 & 1105. They were located just steps from the pool. Both rooms smelled very musty and my daughter who was in room 1105 with my sister had many small bites on her body the next morning. Seeing how smelly & old the rooms where I'm going to guess it was bed bugs UGH! Its a shame because this hotel is at a good location within walking distance to a place to eat, the river, and to many of the Manatee boat tour places, but it's run down and needs a serious cleaning & facelift for the price. My in-laws stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just down the road on the same night, and for the same price they had a much nicer and cleaner room than we had. I'm not a big fan or have had much luck with Best Western hotels, and this experience just reconfirms that next time i'm not even going to book this chain again.

"Great location with a terrible check in!"

yanksgirlinfl, Lake Mary, Florida 06/04/2018

1. Check in was horrible! The older unpolished & unprofessional women's at the front barked orders & rules out at us. She told us we couldn't leave our dog unattended for more then 1 hour at a time. I politely asked how were we suppose to go out to dinner...she said I don't know it's not my problem. She laughed and said that's what happens when you travel with a pet. I tried to explain that we were Platinum Rewards members with Best Western and travel often with our pet. She just shrugged and put the keys down on the front desk. 2. We were so freaked out and feared being kicked out per what the pet rules on the paper stated and how the woman treated us we didn't go out to dinner as planned. We ended up driving with the dog in the car with us, went to the grocery store and got food to cook on the grills outside. We got back grills were running low on gas, most of the grates were it took forever to cook dinner. This was a disappointment and put a damper on our weekend. 3. The location is great, right on the water. 4. Room was just OK...nothing special. There was mold behind the toilet. 5. The breakfast area was kept clean. The ladies working in the breakfast area were nice and friendly. We would not go back to the hotel. Overpriced for an older style motel.

"Old Motel Style Property on River"

Poleinahole, Chicago, Illinois 05/04/2018

The hotel is showing its age but its location makes it a winner--it is right on the river so perfect for early morning manatee tours. There is a manatee tour operator and small dive shop on the premises but its best to walk two blocks to Bird's Underwater (also on the water) for a wider range of tours and services. Rooms are small but well maintained and clean. There are washers and dryers available for $2. Free WIFI is a bit slow but acceptable. Breakfast is copious but tastes like mass produced food. Still its free. They open at 6:30 AM which means you can make a 7 AM manatee trip. If you need extra towels for the manatee trip make sure you get them the night before from reception as they only keep about ten at the front desk and they go fast. House keeping only comes in at 9 AM so you probably won't get a towel early in the morning. The airconditioning is old and loud so bring some ear plugs.

"Spring Breat"

184doloresg, Brookfield, Illinois 05/04/2018

My son and I spent a few days here during spring break. The hotel was great, really clean, super friendly and attentive staff. Samantha at the desk was awesome, she handled my different types of reservations really good. Sue and Kim were really great at during breakfast. They had hot fresh food out all the time, always cleaning up and really personable. Beds were really comfortable. Definitely want to stay again. Theres a bar and grill right behind the hotel I was able to walk right around the corner to which was asweome.

"Great place to stay and relax"

bobkoester, Kaukauna, Wisconsin 28/03/2018

We were skeptical at first but after we checked in we felt a lot better about the place. Great room, pool, hot tub, food and bar. Without question, we would stay here again. Highly recommend the dive shop next door for an excursion.

"Overpriced "Resort""

Charles M, Asheville, North Carolina 26/03/2018

They took a lot of poetic license calling this a resort. Large property divided by NW 6th. St. Vintage 1970's two story drive up rooms. We were on the wrong side. Property does abut the water but is not on a beach. Prisons have less rules. I had to sign a full page list of fineable regulations. Tag for your auto. Pool pass required. Key to use ice machine. Tickets for breakfast. $10 charge if they are lost. Tried to check in at 3:30, could not. Check in is at 4:00. Came back at 4:15 and although my room was not ready they "accommodated" me with a similar room. Acted as if it was a favor to let me in after the established time. Room was good sized with fridge and micro. Small bathroom with only soap and shampoo. Good storage and work space. Good breakfast with eggs, sausage and selection of fresh fruit and pastries. Can walk to restaurants. We got the room on Priceline for $73 if I had paid $140 would have really felt overpriced.

User 23/03/2018

Very friendly and accommodating. Location is very much to our liking to see manatees, state and federal parks, spring training baseball games, Valspar Golf Tournament. We were especially impress with the variety of breakfast choices , and the friendliness of the servers,Sue and Kim.

"Nice stay"

User 18/03/2018

Great location near the trolley stop at city hall which we walked to from the hotel. Crystal Springs was celebrating the Phase I of the River Walk project when we went. Would be wonderful to have a nice path to walk around the Bay.

"So glad we switched hotels!"

User 13/03/2018

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel they have nice rooms, good breakfast, nice pool, and hot tub at a great location right on Kings Bay, we moved to this hotel because the one we were staying at wasn't that great (H. I.) there was nothing to do, we're so glad we did, the pool area was over looking the water with a sunning area, you can bring your boat and watch the guides bring in their catch and clean them as the birds wait for scaps, also there's Crackers bar and grill, which is very good, one night they had a good band. My only complaint was there was some loud drunk people between 1:00 and 2:00 am that woke me up a few nights, I don't know if they were the local workers or from the bar.

"Not so "best""

luv2travel33549, tampa 12/03/2018

Booked for three days, but with the drunken workers staying in most of the rooms, sleep was an issue so we left one day earlier than we had planned. It's a good hours drive to Cedar Key, which is where most of the good restaurants are located and the shops. But it's worth going the extra mile. The breakfast buffet was adequate. The egg substitutes were just ok. The rooms were very cramped and without clock/radio. The room A.C/heater was noisy & kept blowing the window drapes. The help were friendly until we told them about the loud drunks. They told us to call the police. Really?!

"Very good Breakfast!"

l0chness4, Wonder Lake, Illinois 09/03/2018

Older style hotel, was clean and comfortable. Hotel is spread out, a number of buildings two story. Check-in was not good, room was not ready. Waited over an hour, was told they were low on help because employees left. Front desk, one lady very nice, the other was not. Surprising the morning buffet breakfast was very good.

"Gateway to the Manatees"

collegemom92, long island, NY 07/03/2018

Great location to parks snorkeling and gift shops close to nearby attractions walk to two great restaurants that are right on the water - excellent breakfast buffet with a variety of food clean and comfortable room

"Great Hotel!"

msburke0928, Bainbridge, Georgia 05/03/2018

I don't normally stay at BW, but my husband raves about this one so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did!! The hotel grounds are very well kept. The lobby is open and inviting. The rooms are average size and were very clean. The staff were amazing! Especially the housekeeper Judy! She left a handwritten note in my room and it made my day to know the she invested a couple of extra minutes to welcome me. You don't get that type of service anymore and it was greatly appreciated. All hotel staff I came into contact with was always polite, professional and smiling. The ladies that run the breakfast area were so nice. They kept the area clean, the food stocked and was always smiling and offering help. The ONLY negative experience was with an older lade during check-in. She was kinda rude and abrupt. Otherwise, everyone else was amazing and the I wanted my review to reflect that. This BW is definitely worth the stay!

"Upscale Best Western"

OrlandoCyclist, Orlando 04/03/2018

This is our second review and visit. The beds are extremely comfortable. Service and staff were great. Two incidences caused by our errors were handled very well. Breakfast is better than most and on a par with Hampton and Fairfield.

User 28/02/2018

Very clean and unlike the horrible stay I had staying at the Days Inn, I felt safe. It's adequate, nice decor, nice bathroom although unlike the Hampton Inn, they only give you a complimentary shampoo and soap, no hair conditioner or lotion which was disappointing. Tv is a nice decent size, refrigerator has a separate freezer door which was nice. They have a breakfast room that serves a breakfast buffet but as I have to leave for work at 6 am I can't use it because they only open at 6:30 am. I was told I can come inside and have a granola bar instead, Whoopi. They serve coffee in the main building so if you want some, you have to walk to the main building for it. The view in the back of the lake is very pretty. Their is a bar grill next door that serves burgers and appetizers if you don't want to drive to a restaurant. The pool area requires you to have a pool pass. Was not told about needing one when I checked in so ask about that. Overall not bad, this is a decent place

"Too expensive for basic"

epaull, Baltimore, Maryland 18/02/2018

I guess the rate was high for Presidents Day weekend. The room was just adequate, not what I expected for the price. Room was dimly lit, really not very pleasant, a little below average for size and facilities. The breakfast was ok, but, for the price, I thought they could have provided, as an example, fresh rather than canned fruit.

"Bad stay"

jameswF5805KR, Lakeland, Florida 09/02/2018

Less valued room than I paid for, bed broke, uncomfortable beds, room cleanliness not up to par, inefficient and unfriendly staff. I was extremely unhappy with room, reserved a suite, checked in late, room was not a suite but had two super hard queen beds, instead of two room suite with one queen bed, headboard broke off wall, where one could see it had remounted many times before. Staff not efficient or friendly.

"Best hotel in Crystal River"

J S, Jacksonville, Florida 07/02/2018

I have stayed in many hotels in and out of the area and this is by far my favorite place to stay. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the property is very relaxed and enjoyable as well. Kim and Sue always make breakfast a great experience and the food is tasty too! The pool is clean and warm and the restaurant next door is great too. Its a very organized hotel that has an obvious main goal of making your stay wonderful. I like that and its something you dont see at most other hotels.

"Manatee Tour"

ldG959KB, Washington DC, District of Columbia 01/02/2018

Other then only one trip to breakfast it was good. My family likes to linger during breakfast. Check out staff could have been a little more friendly. Location was awesome! Price was just right. We will stay again

"Can't go wrong with a stay here"

ukinny, New York City, New York 22/01/2018

Clean rooms, friendly service, and a well-stocked typical breakfast make this a can't go-wrong place to stay when visiting Crystal River. My main reason for docking a star is really based on a personal preference whereby I like the bathroom sink etc... to be separated from the main room rather than exposed, and the beds being softer than I personally prefer. Again, not deal-breakers, just personal preferences of mine.

"Over night stay to see manatees!"

Chillin-in-Wisconsin, Platteville 22/01/2018

This hotel was wonderful! It only had 2 floors, and we requested a quiet room. There was multiple buildings within the complex and was easy to find things like ice and breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean and comfy! The only drawback was that they did not have any king beds available. But we managed!

"Swim with Manatees, snorkeling."

tbibelhauser, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 19/01/2018

Wonderful time. The experience of snorkeling with Manatees was unbelievable. The hotel was good and on site pub/restaurant , Crackers, was great! Visited during Manatee festival which was a couple blocks away, very nice with lots of crafts, local wares and good food.

"Nice clean hotel"

Dennis W, Altoona, Pennsylvania 19/01/2018

Spent three night at the best western while we were fishing. The rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet. Breakfast staff was very friendly, food was basic but coffee was hotel and overall very good.

"We stayed here while evacuation for Hurricane Irma"

BellasGrandma, Tampa, Florida 17/01/2018

We found this hotel while evacuating from Hurricane Irma, the hotel was i mandatory evacuation also for next day, we was able to stay the night. Pet friendly, nice and clean rooms, the property has a beautiful morning water view with boats at view. Calm and peaceful place. Good restaurant at walking distance. very recommendable.

"Great property conveniently located, but ask for a room in the back if street noise bothers you"

veroniquegerald, Nashville, Tennessee 15/01/2018

Nice property located within walking distance of Three Sisters Springs Center, where you catch the trolley to the manatee viewing site, and Heritage Village, an area with shops and small restaurants. The rooms are large, with a microwave, mini fridge and free wifi, and the property would be easy for people with mobility issues to navigate. The breakfast bar has a good selection. However, as this hotel is on U.S. 19 and the room doors open to the outside, ask for a room in the back of the property if street noise bothers you.

User 12/01/2018

The facility is nice and convenient to the water and the highway. Rooms are large and clean. (No elevator to second floor). Pet friendly but there is a fee for dog ($10). The front desk person had no knowledge about manatee viewing which is the inly reason people come here!

"Best western is the best value.."

tubas s, Tampa, Florida 07/01/2018

We like to get away couple days and Best westerns are my choice for the most of the time. I like the hotel service, breakfast timing (until 10 am) so we dont have to rush to catch the breakfast, besides breakfast items are great! Hotel rooms are clean, if any problems they solve it right away. If you have rewards points you get the room discount. Stuf is trustworthy.

"My trip"

dawnj712, Port Richey, Florida 07/01/2018

We stay in this area a lot. I have been to most all the hotels in this area. I can tell most are not clean. So we wanted to try this hotel. Now I know where I will stay ONLY. It was clean the people were the BEST. The only hotel for ME.

"On the water"

Shawn B, Venice, Florida 06/01/2018

Decent room, unfortunately our toilet was running all night long. Room was musty but appeared clean. Being right next water could be the cause of the musty smell. Had plenty of parking and their own boat launch. Check in was very slow, but front desk person was very nice. Bed was surprisingly comfortable though.

"Good Stay"

budbrlady, michigan 03/01/2018

We stayed at the Best Western the night before our 6am tour with Birds Underwater Manatee tours. The location cannot be beat. We were about two minutes from Birds. Our room was very clean and on the 2nd floor of the river view building. We were close to the pool and large hot tub that we enjoyed after dinner. We had a noon check out time so we chose to warm up in the hot tub again after our tour instead of eating breakfast. The only negative we had the the wifi stopped working about 8:30pm and was very spotty after until almost 11pm. I was trying to get some work done and finally used my data plan to get it finished. We had no noise issues, there was a band at the restaurant next door we could hear at the pool but it was not a negative thing.

"Good, nice place"

User 03/01/2018

It's a little odd that there are five different buildings, and the snack machines looked like they hadn't been stocked in years but the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. Good, average, hotel stay.

"Friendly staff and clean rooms"

User 31/12/2017

Two of the most important things one looks for in a hotel room are cleanliness and friendly staff. This had both. Our family stayed here prior to a canoe trip to see the manatee. The location to the springs and services is very convenient. The pool is heated but we didn't use because it was too cold outside. We walked to dinner at the Cracker Bar next door. Long wait on this Friday night but the food was very good. The waitress did her job in trying to upsell us on several items. Live music outside which we would have taken time to enjoy had it not been about 40 degrees outside. The location feels safe, we never felt nervous or worried about our safety. The breakfast was your typical breakfast food variety with waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, cereal, juice, fruit, yogurt etc. They give you a ticket for each guest member at check in which provides entry into the breakfast area. We would stay again. Prices in Crystal River are a bit high compared to 30 minutes drive out but you pay for the convenient location. Rate was $170 for 2 double beds but they gave us a BW discount and triple A and it ended up closer to $150. Room has a fridge, freezer and microwave and free wifi.

leonk977, Warren, Ohio 30/12/2017

I thought the location of the hotel was good . There was a boat ramp that was on the backside of the hotel with easy access. They have pool which is heated 80° And they had a hot tub. Pet friendly which is a big deal for us

"Nice Area - good free breakfast"

79julietl, Panacea, United States 26/12/2017

I drove down to look at property in the area with my dog. The room had no "pet smell" so I was pleasantly surprised, the rug however was dirty and needed cleaned. The free breakfast was really good, but lacked any type of fruit the morning I was there. I stayed on the 1st floor and did not hear any of my neighbors until guests checked in the room above me and you could hear walking and all sorts of loud noise. Definitely stay on the 2nd floor to avoid unwanted noise from above.

"Not a bad nights stay"

Joline K, Mcdonough 22/12/2017

Check-in was the only negative of our experience. The rate charged didn't match what was quoted on my reservation. Once I provided my email confirmation the price was adjusted. The room was clean and had the basics. Nice location right on the water, which made for a pleasant evening walk. I'd stay here again. We left to go swim with manatees at 6:15 and breakfast wasn't available until 6:30 so we missed it

"Location and nice staff are all this place has..."

T2443ENryanb, Jacksonville, United States 18/12/2017

The rooms are dated. Musky. The only thing it has is nice people working there and a decent location. It's in crystal river and has a mini-dive shop attached. It's 45 minutes from Blue Grotto and 30 minutes from KP hole.

"Christmas Family Stay"

swmom, Clearwater, Florida 05/12/2017

We took our family- (daughter and her family- son and his family) to Crystal River for the weekend to enjoy the holiday events. We have a pontoon boat which we brought and used a slip provided by the hotel for no extra charge. The rooms are clean and have a fridge and microwave. They have free breakfast which is the standard fare for hotels. They do have a large area for seating for breakfast so that we were all able to sit together which was very nice. The pool is heated and they have a large hot tub so that was wonderful after a morning on the boat. All the activities (Grinchmas and the parade) and restaurants are within walking distance. The little ones even walked. It was a great stay. We love it here.

"Excellent Value"

stephenlL643YP, Columbus, Ohio, United States 05/12/2017

Great value for the money. I've stayed in everything from a Motel 8 to The Ritz Carlton. This hotel was clean and comfortable. They also offered an excellent complimentary breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Hotel room smelled musky but it subsided after a while and personally I was too tired to care but when I turned in the ac a roach came out if it and that made me mad... there is almost no water pressure and hot water is hardly even room temperature... could of done a lot better... not worth my $$

"Nice hotel great location"

EraeK, Palmer, Alaska 03/12/2017

This is a nice clean hotel. It's reasonably priced and located near many of the area's attractions. The staff is friendly and the complimentary breakfast has healthy options and was presented nicely. Although the hotel is large, it was quiet and there is a nice restaurant next door.

"Very Peasant experience"

Bruce D, Wilmington, Delaware 03/12/2017

The Best Western Resort is everything I expected. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and caring. The room was very clean and well-stocked, the beds were very comfortable, and the amenities were all very good. Breakfast was good, although the scrambled eggs were dry - as if they came from a mix, and not real eggs. Other than that, there were many different selections available at breakfast - sausage (I would have loved to have seen bacon also offered, but - not to be), fruit, muffins, pancakes, waffles, bread, coffee, yogurts and fixings, cereals, etc.

"Nicely decorated hotel, close to downtown Crystal River. Quiet"

User 30/11/2017

Basic hotel room in Crystal River, close to old town. Quiet room. Spacious room, small bathroom with toilet and tub shower. We had two double beds and a refrigerator in the room. Basic breakfast, not the quality I would prefer to eat though but the bare minimum.

"A Good Stay, but Could've been Better"

Michele B, Snellville, Georgia 29/11/2017

My son and I stayed here during Thanksgiving week, and had a good stay. I'm a platinum rewards member, however, and didn't get rewarded at all for our stay - no points, nothing, for being a platinum member. The prices per night were between $125-$130. The room was clean, but musty. I had to keep the room fan and bathroom fan on constantly to ventilate out the musty odor. The bathroom tiles also had black mold in the grout; it was a bit disgusting. The staff was friendly, and especially the breakfast and eating area staff were excellent. Neighbors next door to us had a dog that barked for awhile during one night. And, the toilet paper was more like tissue paper - I went to the grocery store and bought my own. They were also skimpy on the shampoo. I asked for extra and went through it all but for one container because I have alot of hair. One sample container for 2 people per day was definitely not enough. I also had to ask for extra towels since there weren't enough. It was a nice stay, but definitely could've been better. I'd consider staying at a different hotel if I visited Crystal River in the future.

"Road trip "

milliemccabe, St. Petersburg, Florida 28/11/2017

We were on a road trip and stopped for the night ...the room was clean ...bathroom was huge ...everything we needed was close by ...the breakfast was a nice perk too ...The desk lady was very helpful too ...looking forward to our next stay when we come this way

"Lovely location but could do with a facelift"

Vicki G, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom 27/11/2017

Check in fine and parking outside room. Shelley on the desk was very friendly and helpful. The phone did not work but that was fixed quickly. The room was ok but really could do with a refurbishment. There was a fridge and microwave and coffee maker. The wifi signal was awful. Breakfast fine with plenty of choice and replenished. Nice restaurant next door. Have stayed at this hotel several times and the location is wonderful but the hotel bedrooms really need a facelift they are very dated. Will probably not return to this hotel.

"Nice for a quick stay"

Joanne S, Crystal River, Florida 27/11/2017

Nice clean rooms quiet atmosphere courteous s staff clean linens not enough soap or hand wash no tissues very small room parking lot under construction needs a bit of a makeover but overall good stay comfortable enough for a staycation

"Great Stay at Crystal River"

Susan A, Cheddington, United Kingdom 23/11/2017

We stayed for two nights during our Florida tour. The room was very nice, clean and with a good shower and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was the usual self service but there was lots to choose from. Staff were very helpful with recommendations and ensuring you had a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel - some of the others in the area looked run down.

"Outstanding location"

AKus2ontour, Bournemouth 20/11/2017

Great location at Crystal River for Manatee spotting. Clean hotel, with friendly staff. Good breakfast included. All rooms good, Utd next time would try and ?????????????? one with the balcony overlooking the river front.

"crystal river best western"

Roger H, Shelbyville, Tn., United States 20/11/2017

I stayed here on my way back to the RV park where I spend the winter and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was in good working condition, clean with NO odors. Breakfast was in the buffet style, not great, but enough choices to prevent looking elsewhere to dine. I will use this motel again if in the area and recommend it for location, quiet and safe.

"Fishing Trip"

lairncm, Umatilla, United States 20/11/2017

Overall the place was all right, but the air conditioner is poorly located in the room we stayed in and doesn't circulate the air in the main room very well. I wouldn't want to stay here in summer. The staff was unaware of their benefit plans.

"A surprisingly delightful experience"

Kat K, St. Petersburg, Florida 20/11/2017

We booked at the Best Western out of necessity, and were so pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was simple, but fresh, hot, and delicious. The grounds and the room were in excellent condition. The service, in general, was excellent. All of the employees were helpful, intuitive, and smiled! We were very comfortable here, and would highly recommend this hotel.

"Great place to stay when visiting the manatees at Crystal River."

SSHavana, Tallahassee, Florida 16/11/2017

The dive shop is right on site and the resort staff is very helpful! Great sea food restaurants are close by, short walk, Charlie's is highly recommended. We ate there twice, dinner and lunch the next day! Rooms were quiet, clean, and breakfast was set up early and very good!

Cadillacjay, Beverly, Massachusetts 14/11/2017

This is not an expensive property so I was not expecting opulence. I was only staying overnight and I arrived late. The room was pretty dated but generally clean. The main issue was the very strong musty odor. I did not call down to the lobby as I was beat from travel. If I was staying in the area for more than 1 night I would have moved. On the bright side, the location was pretty nice, you are right on the harbor.

"Normally 5 star rating! But, the waste avoidance is ridiculous!"

Adrian N, Hamburg, Germany 13/11/2017

We had a great stay in this Hotel. We were located in a large room in the opposite wing to the reception. You can park your car in front of the wing. The Hotel has a pool with a nice view to the river. As well a boat ramp. I would rate the Hotel with 5stars, but especially in this natural area, with a lot of animals they have to learn how they avoid waste! During breakfast it was ridiculous. There is nothing in glas. You must use a plate and your cutlery in plastic, even the apples are in plastic! There is so much waste in the morning. And we learned during our many tours with manatees, there is a big problem about plastic here. Go forward and be the first Hotel with a good ecological system.

"Lots of Positives and a Few Negatives"

bahamablue, Clearwater, FL 12/11/2017

Let's start with the positives: **The location is excellent. It is on the main road in Crystal River, is on the water, and within walking distance of several restaurants. **The staff was friendly and helpful with issues and questions. **No where have I had a better breakfast buffet at a mid-price hotel. Hot food, fresh, lots of choices, and reasonable hours to eat. **Pet fees were reasonable and there were plenty of places to walk your dog. Though they get minus marks for not having bags in the doggie bag container. Then the negatives: **I was in the back building near the water. The walls were paper thin. I could hear every word of every conversation (and tv) next door and every creak of the bed and footstep upstairs. **The room was clean, but the carpet was so very musty that the smell permeated everything. I had to give my dog a bath as soon as we got home because she had picked up that musty smell from laying on the floor. **The bathroom seemed clean, but definitely had a strong urine smell to it. Overall, I would stay here again, but would ask for a different building away from the water, in hopes that the musty smell would not exist there. One other note is about the restaurant on property. When googled, Crackers shows as "pet-friendly", but it is NOT! I was expecting to sit out on the deck there, have a few drinks and some dinner, but the big "NO ANIMALS" sign and the confirmation by the waitress halted that. We walked a couple of blocks on down to Charlie's Fish House and they welcomed us there with open arms.

"Cute Motel, hospitality nonexistent "

User 11/11/2017

I was greeted with all the rules and regulations at check in. Then throughout our 2 night stay every request was denied. I asked for two clean towels and I was instructed to bring my dirty ones first. I asked for a wine opener and I was told to bring my bottle to the front desk. This isn't a small resort you have to get in your vehicle and drive down a street and cross an intersection to get to the front desk. So turning around and coming back to the front desk to meet their demands was unreasonable. It's clean, the pool is cute, it's right by a nice bar with a full grill, but it's very unaccomidating as far as hospitality goes. If I'm paying you over $300 to sleep and shower for two nights for, manner' s sake, GIVE ME A GOTDAMN CLEAN TOWEL WHEN I ASK YOU FOR IT.

"Adequate motel, good location"

alaskacie, Sedona, AZ 09/11/2017

This was a decent place to stay. We had two rooms, one was in the buildings closer to the pool and tour center and that room seemed nicer. My room was in the main building and the window was very high up and did not open. The internet did not work; one guy said that the back buildings work better. The air con was loud, but we had to use it as the window didn't open and there would be no air. Since this was a quick overnight, it wasn't a big deal, but would not stay in that room for any length of time. The room in the back building had a larger window -- I didn't check if it opened, but it definitely provided more life. The front desk staff was indifferent. We asked for rooms near one another and was flatly refused. No rude, but just a clear cut nope, here are your keys. But did provide good instruction. AM person also quite uninterested; When I told the front desk the internet didn't work, she told me it did. Not rude, just not at all interested in the situation. The TV was ok, but at least in our room, the HBO had sound only, no picture. It was not important and definitely not worth trying to get someone's attention. The breakfast attendant, on the other hand, was attentive and friendly. Was awake and present, unobtrusive but observant for any opportunity to help. The guide shop people were nice. They were booked already when we rocked up with the next tour at noon, so we went with another company who had a 10:30 trip. I saw their boat out there in the early afternoon, I think was for 11-14 pax (although there were . fewer aboard). We went out on a six pax boat and I prefer the smaller group, as each group swims independently, and it's nice to swim in a smaller pod of people. Having said that, I think the dive shop at the BW has the lowest rates and the people who run it are really knowledgeable and nice. Also, they have a dock, so I think you leave from there (whereas the other place had to ferry us to water). Also, the back area, the dock near the pool is quite nice. It''s pretty and there are lounge chairs on the dock. The pool area is meh and the spa is not hot, but it's florida, so maybe lukewarm makes more sense.

"A day with the manatees"

User 01/11/2017

Nice hotel close to the manatee tour company. They were very good in changing our reservation without any surcharge. Rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. Very easy to reach and a perfect hotel to start early the tour with the manatees.

Laurie B, Cloverdale 27/10/2017

My room smells like mold and mildew, and the bathroom smelled like urine. They were also liquid stains on the bedside table and the view of my room was a concrete wall. That night when I was trying to sleep and I could hear the people in the room next-door talking as clear as day not soundproof. I told the lady at the front desk at check out and then I had complained about the smell she gave me a best Western bonus points and that's all.

"Needs to be Updated"

Catherine D, Dunedin 24/10/2017

Stayed overnight in this hotel (I wouldn't call it a resort.) We received our room key and when we entered the smell of damp and must was overwhelming. I had to go buy air freshener to kill the smell so that we could sleep. The room was very dated as is the entire hotel. The breakfast was okay nothing to write home about. This place could be so much better if the rooms were updated and cleaned. The pool area was also very disappointing. The hotel is within walking distance of a few decent places to eat and some bars.

"Room had bug bomb still in it and rumpled sheets "

ronl232, Jacksonville 21/10/2017

Upon check-in we entered a room with a bug bomb canister in the middle of the room, sheets rumpled, pillows dirty. Housekeeper claimed to know nothing about it. Upon return to the desk, Woman checking us in said the room was ready as of yesterday. No apology. Told we will have to wait to check in for another room to become available.

"Lovely town, adequate accommodation "

proodle, London 20/10/2017

The hotel is split into a couple of different buildings, and there were building works outside blocks 1&2 when I visited (early morning wake up call). Breakfast was adequate. I'm not sure why liquid scrambled eggs and plastic plates is now acceptable. The orange juice was synthetic, as was the yogurt. The room was fine - overwhelmingly fragranced but clean. You can hear the traffic on the main road at night.

"Always stay at this location"

Emily_in_NC, Morganton, North Carolina 15/10/2017

I have stayed at this facility every time I've been to Crystal River. I travel with groups of college students on field trips and the staff always is pleasant and amenable (even when we play charades in the lobby). Very helpful in finding a place to park the huge school van I drive.

"Milking Irma"

Tellingasiseeit, Florida 08/10/2017

Hurricane Irma hit the Florida Keys 30 days ago. When it moved up to the coast is was at that point a Tropical Storm and was not any serious threat to Crystal River, we live in Florida and where here when the storm came by. The front desk staff is instructed to tell all guest when checking in that there is no internet in the rooms because of the Hurricane that took place which was a month ago. Crystal River was not struck by a hurricane. We drove all around the town and there where no damaged buildings and everything was fine and dandy in the area. The staff members should stop making up excuses and management needs to call their Internet provider and get the job done and fix it. It does not take a month to get the internet back on in a area that was not struck by a hurricane. This hotel is clearly just making up a story about why they are not providing the internet service they advertise they have. The hotel should be honest that they do not provide internet service in the rooms and that customer must come to the lobby with a laptop or wait to use the computer in the lobby. Also you must call the front desk from your phone in your room and ask them to set up your phone so you can make an outside call.. In addition they have one HBO station and you will need to call the front desk so that they can activate you TV so that you can get the HBO station. They also give you a breakfast ticket for each day and each person in your room, you are told by front desk staff if you lose your ticket you will need to pay 10 dollars for your breakfast each day and for each person if you want to eat breakfast. They have an employee at a podium that guards the door into the breakfast room and takes your tickets. The hotel is OK for a day or two if you are going to rent a boat, or pay a service to take you out to swim with manatee's. It is not a place to come for a week long vacation, there is not much around the area to do. The small pool was clouding and not clean during our stay and the BBQ grills by the pool where very gross and had not been cleaned since they where installed and not usable. The rooms are clean enough and not worn out as they have been updated a few years ago. Not a great vacation area just a place to stay if trying to swim with the manatee's and it is on your bucket list.

"Good place to stay"

User 26/09/2017

This is really a good place to stay, it's a normal room but it's clean and updated. The breakfast was oke and is served next to the front desk. We also booked a trip to see the manatees right next to our room. That was a great experience. This must be on your bucket list.

"Kayaking weekend "

Molly V, Cape Coral, Florida 24/09/2017

Clean, comfortable hotel with affordable rate in a great location of Crystal River. Complimentary breakfast was great. You can bring your own boat too. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking. I would stay here again.

"Great location for boating!"

allisoncY7461ML, Tampa, Florida 05/09/2017

Great location on the water so we had easy access to our boats all weekend. Centrally located hotel in Crystal River close to everything. We slept through the complimentary breakfast but heard it was delicious. Will definitely be back!

ReneeLuigi, Seminole, Florida 31/08/2017

The rooms were clean, updated and comfortable. The bed was comfortable too. There was an odor in the room that the staff quickly rectified. Close to local restaurants within walking distance. Boat ramp for those with boats right at the spring. Pool was small but looked inviting. We would stay here again.

"Love Best Western"

Patricia R, Marietta, PA 25/08/2017

We travel a lot and when we are in a place where there is a Best Western, we always try to stay there. We love the fact that the rooms are always clean, the beds are great and so are the pillows ! We love the free breakfast and the service we get is the best !!

"Hidden Slice of Paradise"

Kelley_Hepler, Orlando, Florida 22/08/2017

We stayed the past weekend while scalloping. We generally stay in Homosassa until we found this gem right on the water. The boat ramp/slips make it easy to get in and out of the water. The breakfast included in the rate was superb. The rooms were small but clean, all we were there was to sleep pretty much anyway. Have Crackers right next door make it so we never had to get in our car. We showed up Friday night and didn't get back in our car until Sunday afternoon. I don't have any complaints and our group (we had 4 rooms) are already planning on coming back next year!

"Now just an average hotel for a high price"

SandSunAdventure, Largo, Florida 21/08/2017

My friends and I have been annual guests for The Last 5 Years. Due to a recent remodel our $85 a night charge has jumped to $144++. It's in my opinion that remodel was pretty insignificant and there have been no additions to the property or amenities, however it has always been an excellent location and a clean Hotel. What stood out for me this year was not only the rate increase and the lack of loyalty to their existing clientele by offering them even a small discount was the rudeness from the front desk. A slightly older shorter rounder woman at the front desk offered no smiles no pleasantries the left our business feeling completely unappreciated, rather tolerated. The gals however in the breakfast area we're very friendly and understanding of the guests unhappy with the continental breakfast apparently worth $10 for anyone not staying there. I will share the staff is incredibly unhappy and disappointed in their clientele for all of the items that come up missing from rooms, from towels, pillows, pictures off the walls to lounge chairs and those babies aren't even fitting in cars. We upped to our room to $198 to get a private balcony, apparently with only one chair when the room was a double. I'm told somebody stole it and apparently the hotel not willing to replace it. My friend and I had to take turns sitting on the chair having our smoke. Kind of defeats the purpose. Three small thin towels is all that's made available per room. You must enjoy loud music on Fridays and Saturdays coming from crackers next door because you can't avoid it if you're outdoors. There are many other hotels available so our next reservation is at the Days Inn where we will once again pay $85 a night, the benefits of paying the 144 as the benefits are not necessarily benefits for us. By the way go down the road have breakfast if you plan on meeting friends rather than paying their $10ea. Just go enjoy yourself but don't expect much.

"Weekend getaway"

Lynn C, Stuart, Florida 18/08/2017

Our stay at this Best Western was fantastic!!! Centrally located to whatever you may need. The staff was friendly and the establishment was very clean! I highly recommended staying here and would definitely stay here again!

"Enjoyed stay!"

308irism, Tallahassee, United States 13/08/2017

Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated (lobby and room) with river dock and view, pool and jacuzzi, and even a grilling / covered picnic area; close parking to rooms and restaurant located next door; enjoyed meeting other guests, not too noisy; helpful staff; self serve breakfast included; room was a little pricy but enjoyed our stay very much.

"Worst stay every"

erinbG5562PN, Charlotte, United States 10/08/2017

I booked our reservation 07/31/2017 with arrival 08/04/2017. We were scheduled to utilize all our 15060 reward points for 08/04 and 08/05/2017 (and paid $55.00 for the night of 08/05/2017). This reservation took two (2) attempts at which BOTH times I advised them we would be bringing our Sheltie and was advised the cost would be $5/night for our dog. The Best Western website and the websites from Truvago, Expedia and Trulicity also noted the $5/night pet fee. After telling the desk clerk 3 times that we had a pet, I signed the pet Agreement form on arrival, witnessed by my grandson and husband Jim. From the minute we arrived at the Best Western Resort in Crystal River Florida we were fraught with staff rudeness and inhospitable attitudes. We encountered the following problems: • Since the desk clerk locked our key out 08/05/2017, it would not open our doors necessitating my husband Jim to have to go to the front desk to have it reactivated. He had to go back to the rude and hostile desk clerk and her supervisor 4 times before the key would unlock the door (took about 1 hour to correct this debacle). I wonder if this was done intentionally. • The supervisor very angrily advised my husband that we had not told them about our dog. The staff rudely and almost angrily advised Jim that they could not find the pet Agreement and the charge was $10/night not the agreed upon fee of $5/night. He has never encountered a supervisor and staff that were so angry, indignant and hostile. • The breakfast bar was inedible and the worst I have ever had. A pop tart would have been better. The powdered eggs were repulsive and biscuits were hard hockey pucks and everything was COLD. There was no gravy even at 9:00 AM. How can you ethically expect someone to pay $10.00 per guest (which we paid for 2 guests) for this slop?! • The bathroom only had pediatric size toilets which was nearly impossible for my husband with hip problems to use. • The beds were way too firm which exacerbated my back condition, but the pillows were nice. As a long standing Rewards member since 2010 and have always stayed at the Best Western in Knoxville, I was appalled that this “Resort” could not uphold the family friendly philosophy. We will NEVER stay at a Best Western again and I am advising my vast family of the incredible uncaring rudeness who will undoubtedly follow suite.

"Clean, good value and just where we needed to be..."

tvlgypsy, Sarasota, Florida 09/08/2017

We stayed here during a recent scalloping weekend. We had no complaints about this hotel except for the thinner towels which were fine; I'm just spoiled. The beds were really comfortable, plenty of parking, nice pool area and on the water to boot. We would stay here again.

"Old Florida at its Best"

jamesmE238GF, ORANGE CITY, United States 08/08/2017

I am Florida native and live in the Orlando area now. Crystal River is old Florida how it was back in the 70's when I was a kid. This is the place to come to avoid the crowds of the usual Florida attractions. This hotel is great for people with boats because of the on-site ramp and trailer parking. They offer boat rentals too and a dive shop onsite, which I liked for scuba diving. The breakfast was great and included. The rooms are older but very clean and the beds seemed new and very comfortable. The shower & A/C worked well. Our main interest was the boat ramp, dock, and being out on the water. The selection of local restaurants is really good and we ate at Backwater Fins which had great food (Especially the crab bisque). We had a great family boating trip while we scalloped in the Gulf and swam in Kings Bay. We'll be back for sure.

"Happy Guests"

Cindy S, St. Petersburg, Florida 04/08/2017

This Best Western is the Best place to stay in Crystal River or Homosassa Florida. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a perfect location and price. Our room was off the road and very quiet and peaceful and made a perfect ending to a long day on the river.

"Swimming with the manatees"

Pamela Q, Portland, Oregon 03/08/2017

We stayed in a wing of this Best Western near the shore of Crystal River. The Location was perfect for our planned early morning swim with manatees. There were several tour companies located within blocks. The room was clean and adequate. There was a restaurant next door.

"Best of Crystal River"

Juliesview1080, Miami, Florida 31/07/2017

Traveling through Old Florida on Route 98, find yourself near Crystal River, I recommend Best Western on the Crystal River. Great location, reasonable, and comfortable! We will come back when the manatees return in the winter!

"Great Place"

ericpH2847GR, Tallahassee, United States 27/07/2017

Every employee I encountered greeted me with a smile and asked if I needed anything. SWEET! This place is very clean! The facility is maintained perfectly. The location is really just right for Crystal River.

"Great for boaters"

justine243, Jacksonville, United States 26/07/2017

Boat ramp, dock, and trailer parking onsite. Excellent location to see springs, scallop, fish, tube or just boat. We stay here every summer for a short getaway with friends and family. Easy with the pool and grills to cook your catch or Crackers bar and grill is right next door.

"Scallop season"

stevenrM4137RC, Melbourne, Florida 22/07/2017

We chose this location for scallop season, our fourth year in a row. The area is magnificent. The room could have been somewhat cleaner but acceptable. Two buildings/ rooms are very close to the water and two are not. Good boat ramp, a little tight for bigger boats, but if you know what your doing no problem. Only twelve boat slips which causes problems not having enough for everyone staying with boats. Staff is very courteous. Crackers restaurant very close walking distance. The food is about like Applebees but more seafood dishes. Pool and hot tub grossly over chlorinated. Three nice courtesy gass grills and a nice covered pavilion on pool and the water. From the hotel to the gulf about a 3.5 to 4 mile ride but boat two no wake zones one big half way out and one small just prior to the gulf. Overall great place to stay in my opinion. Hope this helps.

"Basic good accommodation at fair price"

pattyf42, Knoxville, Tennessee 20/07/2017

Convenient location for local activities, close to Manatee Center for fun manatee tours (great experience)! No elevator, and ice machine is on ground floor only. A little dated, but still acgiid deal.

K9646RQjoseb, Tampa, United States 18/07/2017

This place is a wonderful experience. Everything you need is right there. Dive shop, Boat Ramp, Pool, BBQ grills, Tiki bar, Live entertainment, Sports Bar and good food. We never left the resort. For a good time I would recommend highly.

User 17/07/2017

Great place to stay with Marina to go scalloping. Nice tiki bar and restaurant next door ( Crackers) . Also highly recommend the Crab Plant for seafood directly across from Marina !!! Get in early because slips are limited !!

"Perfectly situated "

H2O_log, St. Augustine, Florida 17/07/2017

Perfect setup for boating, or just enjoying the bay. Boat ramp and docks on the property, pool and covered picnic area ( 3 gas grills) overlooking the bay. Our room was second floor, closest to the gas grills with a window overlooking the bay. Very clean and a good AAA rate for the location. Walk around dock connects to Crackers restaurant next door.

"Scallop trip"

"Smelly damp room; thin walls"

ukulelemedic, Torquay, United Kingdom 10/07/2017

Unfortunately this was the only accommodation available on the night we booked (we were there for manatee snorkeling but unknown to us it was also the first day of the scallop season!). We were greeted by a very brash lady (young lady called Sam I think) on reception who was just very short and generally unwelcoming. When we got to our room there was a heavy smell of damp in the room which was really unpleasant. Walls were also very thin and we could hear people's full conversations outside and in the next room. Breakfast was actually good and the location is good hence the two stars.

"Clean, convenient and very courteous staff."

User 05/07/2017

We have stayed at this hotel for several years now, for opening scallop season. We have a group of about 30 that also stay. To start the entire staff is courteous, frieindly. You wont pass one that doesn't greet you with a smile, "good morning" or " good afternoon "! The rooms are clean and spacious. We had an issue with our A/C not blowing and when we came came in from scalloping the whole unit was replaced with a new one. There are 3 grills, picnic tables, and fish cleaning table. There is a boat ramp and dock slips, but limited space, so "rafting" is a common practice to accommodate overflow. So, if you have an issue with people walking across your boat to get to theirs, you'll have to get in earlier to get a slip or plan on foot prints across your boat. It's just what works and can be washed. The owner Daryl was very down to earth and is there to keep things running smooth. It is always a good time for our entire group and the only thing I would change would be pool hours. It's vacation! People stay up later then 10:30 and as long as they are being courteous, they should not enforce a pool curfew. See you next year! The Coopers...Shine on!

"Location, Location"

stephenv685, Largo, United States 01/07/2017

On the river with food and drink readily available. Average accommodations but the location is very good. The continental breakfast is one of the best I have seen at a Best Western and the staff keeps it clean and well supplied. A+ Fishing, boat tours, and snorkeling with Manatees is all right there.

"A great place to stay"

User 26/06/2017

Always a good facility to stay at in Crystal River, and we have been coming here for years! Nice clean rooms, great location, breakfast room, and it's next door to a nice restaurant, boat ramp and dive shop.

"Clean rooms, loud neighbors!"

361lawrencek, Foley, Alabama, United States 22/06/2017

My room was clean and well appointed, but my neighbors were loud and rocked until all hours. Can't blame the hotel for that, but it seems the closer your room is to the bar, the more common this issue becomes. When I checked in they asked if I wanted a room near the bar, or a "quiet" room. I opted for the "quiet," yet didn't quite get what I asked for. Nice property, good, attentive staff, excellent breakfast and right on the main drag if you're passing through. A bit pricey for what you get though.

"Nothing works"

carl0sdelash, Miami, United States 19/06/2017

I have already mentioned all issues. Will never go back to this hotel, neither will my salespeople. Nothin works. Needed to work and Wi-Fi did mot reach the room. The service just simply ignored my request..

"Old and underwhelming"

J8774LHrobertm, MACON, United States 15/06/2017

Its an old place with tiny rooms and even smaller beds. Use extreme caution when going to the pool. Glass in pool even after the hotel says they cleaned it all out. Overall its a place to try and sleep. Its also way over priced. Crackers was good though!

"Super convenient location for manatee tours"

thomasr620, Portland, Oregon 13/06/2017

This Best Western hotel is located adjacent to the Birds Manatee tour, one of the best in the area and the first to take customers in the morning. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with information and the breakfast offered a wide variety of different juices, breakfast meals, fresh fruit and other offerings.

"Porky's weekend"

William M, Jacksonville, Florida, Usa 12/06/2017

Stayed there with wife and a large group of friends for a PORKY"S reunion over a weekend. Checked in on a Friday and departed on Sunday. Had a super time. Front desk handled check in and out quickly and efficiently. Rooms were clean. Hotel staff seemed to take pride in the way they took care of the property. Morning breakfast area was clean and the attendants kept a close eye to make sure people got what they wanted. Room rate was appropriate for what we received. Looking forward to next year.

josephdC6600ML, Palatka, United States 12/06/2017

I would not recommend any one with disabilities to stay here the pool side chair for the hot tub was broken. they have two handicap rooms and both are on the first floor as they say at the 800 number there is an elevator, but little do they tell you it is a staff elevator in the main part of the hotel not even near any of the rooms. there were hairs all over our tub and the price we paid for water front when there is a building blocking it was outrageous

"Great location but front desk service awful"

Theo B, Jacksonville, United States 10/06/2017

We planned this trip with a group of friends months before. At check in we weren't given the room we reserved. The front desk person was very rude when we said something. Worst service ever at BW. Staff needs training in customer care. Eventually we were given a better room but still not what we booked. Take away the rude service and I would recommend this hotel because of its great location. The restaurant next door Crakers has really great food at reasonable prices too.

"Great location! Hotel has been updated."

mpd428, Central Florida, Florida 03/06/2017

Hotel is in a great location! Has been updated however I wish they had rooms that we're separate for families without animals. Our room had a wet dog odor. We didn't complain my own spray fixed it. We didn't want to have the trouble of changing rooms.

"Friendly! "

Cheryl I, Ocala, Florida 30/05/2017

We stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend....Clean rooms, great breakfast, and extremely nice staff! Crackers is a restaurant /bar pretty much attached to it on the dock...Happening place with live music...Hope to do it again, soon!

"Average room, kinda pricey...."

User 27/05/2017

The room was a bit dated and the A/C didn't work very well but was tolerable. It was very convenient if your hungry due to the cool little restaurant next door, Crackers. For one room with 2 beds, it was a bit pricey based on the other places that we have stayed. Probable would stay there again due to the convenience of the eats next door and the free breakfast was decent. Just an average rating....

"Nice vacation area"

439candyk, middleburg, United States 18/05/2017

Very nice place to stay. Hope they stay clean in every room. I am a clean fanatic. Everything was great, from the hot breakfast, always had coffee, in the breakfast area and in the office area at all hours, loved it. Housekeeping was great. Thanks for everything.

"The views at the pool are awsome"

James A, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 30/04/2017

4/29/17; Great views from the pool and a short walk to the tiki bar that Crackers operates. I believe we paid $148 for a queen size bed/room and tax brought the total to about $160+; but a decent breakfast was included. The eggs are out of a box, so skip that for sure. So with the free breakfast is was an ok deal. The bed was very very firm and killed my back.

"Relaxing long weekend"

jimcatdivers, Cartersville, Georgia 15/04/2017

This hotel is right on the bay. We really enjoyed sitting in the chairs by the water every evening. It is right beside Crackers bar/ restaurant. You can sit in the hotel chairs with your own beverages and listen to the live music. There is a boat ramp right at the hotel and docks to tie up your boat as well as a DIVE shop that offer manatee swims The hotel was clean, but room smelled a little musty. ( I didn't complain, it wasn't that bad and we really loved the location). Breakfast was basic but filling. Waffle station, eggs, bacon, cereal etc We would defiantly come back!

"Older but Very Nice"

I6135WAlisas, Madison, United States 06/04/2017

I was hesitant to stay at this older best western, but upon entering my room was delighted to see comfortable bedding and a clean, good smelling room. In addition, we had come to swim with the manatees and used the dive shop right behind the Best Western. The trip was late in the season, but the captain did find some manatees to view and swim with. I would highly recommend using them because it was convenient to walk there and back from the hotel.

"Dive group"

MotorcycleCCTraveler, Princeton, North Carolina 04/04/2017

We had a large dive group come and stay. This was my first time but the group has been multiple times. The rooms are nice and clean. Has comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. The rooms are normal rooms with 2 doubles. The office and breakfast area is a complete seperate building. They have 3 or 4 building with rooms. A bar/grill next door and a dive shop right on water. Can get snorkeling trips with shop. Rent boats and put boats in with the dock.

"Reasonable, clean, relaxing"

Lilian S, Dyer, United States 03/04/2017

Large motel, very clean, located on the water. You can sit on the dock and watch the sunset near the pool. Boat rental and fishing boat rental on dock. Good restaurant and other shops within walking distance. Restaurant has outdoor seating on dock. This motel is a modern version of an old style. You can park in front of your room which is very convenient reminding us of old style motels but it feels modern and new. Lots of rooms in multiple buildings. Great breakfast in nice facility.

"Not overly warm, helpful staff"

User 01/04/2017

Stopped here for one night trying to see the manatees(unfortunately, season pretty much over). Anyway, when we arrived in afternoon, there were 2 receptionists. Both appeared to be competent and knowledgeable, however, the only word that comes to mind is cold and not overly welcoming and helpful. Weary travelers want to feel welcome and usually need help with directions, good restaurants, etc. the next day, different staff, same thing. Just not overly helpful. Other than thst, breakfast was "the usual stuff " and rooms average. Main plus was the location.

"Great Location but room a bit tired"

lucyl64, Acton, Canada 30/03/2017

Spent one night here. It is in a great location. Close to restaurants, bars and the water so you can walk to everything. Our room however was a bit tired. The sheets were very worn and the bed not the most comfortable. Also I don't think they give housekeeping enough time to do a proper job. The mirror above the sink had the previous guests spit still on it. The bathroom in our efficiency unit was tiny. You couldn't open the door without catching it on the bath mat. The toilet paper was the cheapest I've ever encountered. One ply?! They're not saving anything. People just have to use two to three times more. Breakfast was nothing special but filled a hole. As I said this hotel has a great location but definitely has room for improvement.

"excellent location and breakfast"

jperrin2011, Orlando, Florida 26/11/2016

We were here one night with our boat. Room was very clean and breakfast was outstanding! eggs, bacon, make your own waffles/pancakes, homemade oatmeal, fresh fruit etc etc. Boat ramp right on property and nice pool and hot tub. fun restaurant right next door on water

randallbodiford, Milton, Florida 12/11/2016

Management should train front desk clerks to greet customers, like "Welcome to Best Western"! or Hi, how can I help you? Dawn was unfriendly and did not make us feel welcomed. We got checked in and couldn't get into our room because the key wouldn't scan! All the way back to the front desk to get new ones. The toilet ran non-stop so we kept the bathroom door shut to muffle the sound, there was a light out over the sink, and when we checked out, Dawn made a mistake on our bill and had to figure a new bill with the corrected amount. This was handicap room 4107 on Friday Nov.11 2016. The housekeeper named Amanda was cleaning rooms a few doors down and stopped what she was doing to use her master key to let me into our room while my husband went for new keys. She was friendly and helpful and an asset to this motel, maybe she and Dawn should switch jobs. There are plenty of motels in this town and I'll not choose this one next time, nothing special about it. Patricia Cohron

"Road trip"

Trawlergirl, York, Pennsylvania 04/11/2016

Good, basic motel. Good value. Breakfast better than many BW. Unusual layout. The wi-fi was good and it was in a pleasant location. Toiletries were very basic, towels ok. My only complaint was the floor in our room. Could have been cleaner, but I kept shoes on all the time. Shower was good, plenty of hot water.

"October 21, 2016"

Friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated rooms, nice pool but best of all, located on the water and you can watch the tarpon feed when the local fishing guides come to clean their fish at the fish cleaning station.

"Very good Best Western..."

CaddyTDI, Urmond Netherlands 21/10/2016

Very good and friendly Best Western... Check in time was 4pm, but we could already check in 11am...Very friendly staff... Rooms are clean and neatly, and i like the location next to the water... Will book again this place when we are back in Crystal River...

"Stayed here for 4 years"

Richard N, New Port Richey, Florida, United States 18/10/2016

Use to be a great place to stay. Not any more. I will never go back. Management only wants your money does not care about customer service. This is reflected in the staff. The people who come to your room to fix a problem, act like they are doing you a favor.

"Just enjoy Florida!"

Roxanne327, Tallahassee, Florida 17/10/2016

The rooms here are basic, clean, & well equipped with all you need...... will not want to be in your room! You are right on King's Bay...enjoy watching the boats come in & out, have a swim in the pool.... Crackers next door has great food...we often opt for take out & eat at the picnic tables at the motel. They also have grills... Staff are all wonderful...but make sure you get to breakfast by 10:00 on the dot....the breakfast room lady (been there for years)is very strict!

User 17/10/2016

The hotel stay was very pleasant and accommodating. I will definitely recommend Best Western to all my friends and family. Room was beautiful and we really enjoyed the in room fridge and microwave. The TV was also nice to watch. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast was really good.

"Great location for water activities in Crystal River "

Siri000, Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom 15/10/2016

Stayed for one night only to attend early morning snorkeling trip with manatees. Comfortable beds and appreciated the room facilities, particularly the fresh coffee (as opposed to instant coffee). Very friendly staff. Pool is great. Restaurant next door good for sitting outside, drinking cocktails and enjoying the view. Can park outside room. Would stay again. Didn't try out the breakfast that's provided, but appreciated the option and that it was included in the price.

"Some Rooms Much Better Than Others, Staff Helpful"

Anne H, Florida 03/10/2016

When I first checked in during a torrential rainstorm, the first room I received was a very drab, low-ceilinged place that stank heavily of musty wet dog. The room was also very dark, with an icky, stained carpet, and the shower was one of those "roll in" accessible showers, even though I had requested a bath through my TripAdvisor booking. The AC unit was also very loud. I thought about toughing it out, but I just couldn't. The desk clerk was completely WONDERFUL about it (I think her name was Kathy - props to her!) and protested my expressions of guilt saying she was very happy they had another chance to get it right. My second room was *much* nicer - a larger room in another building on the second floor, cozily lit by lamps, with a wide clean desk, an comfortable King sized bed, and a large flatscreen. The wireless worked perfectly without any difficulty, and the AC/fan unit was much quieter. The shower had good water pressure and included a bath tub, and even the hairdryer worked surprisingly well. The only downsides: no conditioner (I brought my own but including in my review just as an FYI to other guests) and the TP was the scratchy cheap kind (maybe they have an older plumbing system that can't tolerate the nicer stuff). Also, like all hotels, the coffee was gross (seriously, why can't hotels just contract with Starbucks or Peet's or Blue Bottle or something??) which I was extra grumpy about because it was both my birthday and international coffee day and I had an early meeting the next morning. Also, it's probably obvious, but despite the price, the Best Western isn't really a "resort" the way you might think of with lots of nice amenities etc. It's just a larger hotel. But it is located near the marina and on the water and can set you up with manatee tours (make sure to check that your tour co is eco-friendly and promotes only passive observation) and kayaking etc. For nearby food, Crackers next door is OK if you are in the mood for fried fare or burgers, but for something fresh and healthy, and incredibly delicious, I *highly* recommend walking down the street (or driving if it's raining like it was when I was there) to the little tapas cafe/wine bar I discovered the next day called Amy's on the Avenue. Amy's also has delicious coffee (at last!), desserts, wine, appetizers and small plates, soups and sandwiches, and a myriad of other fresh farm to table type dishes.

"Always a great stay"

User 28/09/2016

This is a great property in a really good spot. The staff is one of the best you will find anywhere.Recently remodeled and very clean. Plenty of parking if you bring your boat. Would highly recommend.

"Bad Service. Poor housekeeping."

Clyde A, Saint Augustine, United States 27/09/2016

Dirty, filthy room, bathroom, Mildewed shower and floor. Full of roaches. Maintenance man told us that we didn't see any roaches. We dug the ones that we had killed out of the trash for him to see.1 bar of soap , no shampoo. Two bath towels and two wash cloths. Room smelled .

"Stayed one night to swim with manatees..."

mrsneurotic, Gulf Coast 18/09/2016

The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was wonderful right on King's Bay, and the restaurant, Crackers, was good, also. Very good breakfast included in the rate. The bedding was plush, great pillows. The room was nicely decorated, recently updated, and pretty. The bathroom was clean.

"Depends on what you are looking for"

Nanabam, London, United Kingdom 18/09/2016

Very clean, well staffed (facilities guys are doing something all day long - cleaning the pool again, washing down the sidewalks, cleaning up the exterior...) Desk staff was great and very helpful to all who asked (I ended up sitting in the lobby waiting for someone for 2 hours so I know). Good breakfast. Fantastic location for kayakers, great boat launch, adjacent to a great restaurant and tiki bar, cute little pool area with a lift for lowering the handicapped both into the pool and the spa. Nice boardwalk. It is pet friendly (all sizes) and I love pets but our first room had fleas so we were able to move. Wireless is frustrating. But if you are at this hotel, probably isn't to work on the computer. If you want great access to the water, a relaxed and friendly location, this is the place for you.

"Nice hotel on the water "

User 17/09/2016

Pet friendly! Really......not just tolerant but welcoming. This is impressive considering we traveled with a mastiff! Great property convenient to seafood restaurants and the water. Room was nice and bed comfortable. Will definately stay here again.

"Very pretty!!!"

Elaina R, Panama City Beach 16/09/2016

The place was beautiful! You would never know that a hurricane hit them a week ago. The staff was friendly. The dive shop was helpful. Breakfast was great. Having a restaurant right next door was awesome. The kayak rental was one street down the road. The view was amazing being on the water. Great hotel.

"Great Room"

Katie K, Florida, United States 13/09/2016

The room was clean, staff were friendly. Resort is conveniently located on the Crystal River with easy access to dock, ramp, pool, and rooms. Enjoyed a day of scalloping only to be able to return to the resort and pool for some relaxation. Definite must stay in the Crystal River area.

"Excellent Stay and Perfect Location!!"

In spite of Hurricane Hermine passing through this area. This pet friendly hotel was up and running without skipping a beat! The accommodations were wonderful and right on the water, perfect location for many local activities. The breakfast in the morning was a perfect way to start out the day! The restaurant was clean, everything was fresh, well stocked along with many items to choose from. The staff was delightful and all very informative! They went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one! We definitely will go back and it exceeded our expectations!

"Take your pet to this Awesome Location"

User 31/08/2016

You cannot get a better location than this hotel. Directly on the water and close to the springs and short boat ride out to the gulf. Recently remodeled the rooms are clean and have just what you need for a long weekend stay. I love that I can take my dachshund, for a small fee, to spend our vacation with us.

"Inexpensive hotel, right on the waterway and close to nightlife"

Bobby D, Central Florida, Florida 22/08/2016

We had a great time this past weekend. We stayed for the annual Hooked up for Tata's fishing tournament. It was great that it was so close to the check in and weigh in areas but also had some great amenities. The pool could have been a little bigger and was crowded at times, but it was wet and kept us cool. The hotel is right next to cracker's restaurant so it was nice to have food and live music right next door. I will stay there again for sure.

"Grandsons mini vacation with grammi and grandpa"

Doreen J, Crystal river, United States 22/08/2016

We stayed here for a weekend and couldn't have been happier. The location is great and the hotel itself was very accommodating. The free breakfast was wonderful and the pool very nice! The picnic table and grill area very nice and the area itself is just beautiful. Had a problem with the air conditioning unit, told the desk in 10 minutes they had a repairman and within 30 minutes he changed it out to a new unit! To say the least we had a wonderful family time at this location and cant wait to visit again. Very relaxing and accommodating. Perfect Trip! Manatee swimming and scalloping were great!

"Sorry check out lady"

DavidW54169, Chapin, South Carolina 21/08/2016

When a person has a complaint and the staff on duty says, sorry can not help you. How about at least reporting it and she says we do not do this. Real sweet , yes??? I said is there a manager on duty? She said the manager is on vacation and come back in a few days. I said I am out of area and she replies sorry can not help any. Is my room on my points with best western? I am not sure. What can you do to help me?

"Crystal River Kayaking Trip"

Overall a great stay. The hotel is spread out over several buildings. We opted for Building 6 which is located across from the other buildings and is quieter as we were traveling with a dog and the quiet kept him from barking.

"Manatee Snorkeling"

Oklaoceanluvr, Atoka, Oklahoma 11/08/2016

If you are coming to Crystal River to see the manatees, stay here. The front desk staff was very friendly. The free breakfast includes continental items and full hot breakfast items. Pancake and waffle makers, eggs, sausage, oatmeal were all options offered. The on-site dive shop has reasonable priced manatee drinks or extra frills offered like others..yet very friendly staff. Our trip was just the three of us and we had a memorable morning with many up close encounters. At the hotel, one thing we had not seen before was a room card controlled ice machine. It was pouring rain when someone went to get ice WITHOUT the room card..was not a happy camper. If we come back, we'd stay here in a heartbeat!!!

"Paddleboard race"

Marc J, Indialantic, United States 08/08/2016

This "Resort" is very friendly, accommodating, hospitable and clean. The location is ideal for and is frequented by water sports enthusiasts. The boat ramp was well traveled when we got there on Thursday and got continually busier as the weekend approached. The pool got used a lot and we met some great people... something about being on vacation in Florida. We enjoyed the front desk Manager. We were well taken care of and we got extra towels!! The breakfast was good and there was plenty of food. Breakfast is from 6:30-10:30 am and well worth it. There were scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes and all the other items that come in a FREE Breakfast buffet. The three attendants were awesome and made good conversation for the start of the day. The rooms were clean, although the carpet was a little dated. I don't like that the only sink is in he room. The lobby was well taken care of and they had coffee available in the early hours... A must in my opinion. I liked this hotel and specially the Staff.

"Great location. For a winter rate, very reasonable."

gussieMetrowest, metrowest 04/08/2016

Great stopping off point while exploring the nature coast. Reasonable winter rates. Manatee viewing area on scenic boardwalk with outdoor and indoor bar and grill next door. Outdoor pool next to boardwalk.

FloridaTraveler22, Jacksonville 01/08/2016

We drove in to check in at 4, they took our money and we were told to come back later, the room was not ready. We ran around for a couple of hours, came back and found our room was at the top of steep stairs with no elevator. But what could we do? They were booked? So with a bad back my fiancee dragged our suitcase up stairs. We were kept up late by a storm, only to be awakened by LOUD truck noises at 6 am, because we were facing the busy street. I called the front desk to document this and was told that was their most quiet room. At check out I was told the Manager was in a meeting and couldn't see me, I could wait. WHAT? I called the corporate number only to be told this was a franchise the Manager could make whatever decision she wanted. After waiting, she met with us basically saying it was our fault we didn't ask for another room without steps(BUT THEY WERE SOLD-OUT?) No she said they only had 47% occupancy. I said then why did we have to wait and why a room on the street, second floor with no elevator? She said We checked in at 4:12, I said we paid then but NO KEY til a couple of hours later, the room was NOT READY! She offered only 20% off, and I said If you don't treat your customers with respect, then they will pass that on in reviews. She said So you are black-mailing me? I was shocked! I explained my idea of proper customer service and said WE WILL NOT BE BACK! No one at the hotel cared nor did corporate.VERY UNCARING.

"In town for some scalloping with Captain Jeremiah."

Shayne1715, West Liberty, Kentucky 29/07/2016

This is the place we like to stay at when we're in town for some scalloping. The twins enjoy the pool. The location is great and they have grills that can be used by guest to prepare their fresh catch from a great day on the water.

"Pleasant Surprise"

HandymanPlus4786, Boynton Beach, Florida 26/07/2016

After a very long day of driving we saw the Best Western waterfront sign and decided to pull in (waterfront gets us every time!). The lobby was nicely appointed so I thought the rooms could not be that bad. Front desk could have been a bit friendlier but she did her job (to the minimum...). The room was nice, bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. We got a room by the pool and right beside the dock so that was a treat! Breakfast the next day was very nice so all in all... this Best Western is a do over for us if we are ever in this area again!

"Very happy with our stay"

User 24/07/2016

We stayed here for one night and swam with manatee at Birds underwater adventures. Hotel room was clean and service was good. They provided a nice breakfast. They were close to water and walking distance to our manatee tour at Birds. Nice place to stay. Staff was kind and considerate.

"Pleasantly Surprised"

User 21/07/2016

I'm a die-hard Hilton Honors member, so when the Crystal River Hampton overbooked, we were debating whether to drive straight thru to Ocala or stay put. We made the right choice. Snuggly situated under grandfather oaks, this place was literally the best seat in the house, considering it was right on top of the river. Immaculately clean rooms, personable staff, and close to everything, I couldn't have been more satisfied, down to the handwritten welcome note on the bed side table. And the price? Considering it was the 4th of July weekend and scalloping season, the rates weren't doubled like every other hotel chain. Props, Best Western. I will be back.

"Fishing, scalloping and manatees"

User 20/07/2016

Excellent stay with great fishing and scalloping (Capt Kyle), great manatee trip (Capt Darren) and great service in the hotel. Breakfast staff were extremely Friendly and helpful and food all good quality.

"Great cooking area and tables"

Travelingfools0618, Merritt Island, Florida 14/07/2016

I went here with a huge group because they go every year to scallop and upon arrival we were a little upset I know it was a holiday but the boat parking was awful the area to park your boat is pretty small and it was so full people were parking all over the resort grass everywhere with their trailers. It took us almost an hour to finally be able to park our trailer we had to wait for people to pull out. Now the boat ramp at the resort is AWFUL you have to pull your boat and trailer between 2 rows of cars and trucks we had 1 inch on either side of our trailer then you have to pull up and go around a curve to back into the tight fitting ramp, during a holiday its almost impossible to get a slip so you have to pull out your boat and even after a lot of people left we had to come in early to make sure we got one. We finally found another boat ramp almost next door which is so much better highly recommend that. The rooms were clean but the older rooms the A/C wasn't great but one of our friends had the newer room and room was nice and cold. The best part of the place was the 3 grills and the covered picnic tables. Would I stay here again probably not we already decided to just rent a house on the water next time less stress.

"Needs TLC"

Rob B, Florida, United States 13/07/2016

Great location but rooms aren't fairing very well since the renovation 2-3 years ago. Breakfast is good, well done. Staff is better now that a new GM is in place. Price for room quality is not in line. Before the renovation, room rate was 85-90, since update 135 but rooms are not being maintained very well.

"Your average BW."

User 11/07/2016

Never updated. Why is it they believe we want the same 50's looking hotel. I guess they don't update them so people can re live the hotels hey stayed in when they were kids! Honestly, this is what I call camping. Dirty walls, same old bed skirts and pictures. The sheets were clean but the towels were old and stained. If hotels in Florida are anywhere near water they refuse to change them. They look old and run down. I would call this the red neck riviera. The area could be nice, but people don't care if they can bunk ten family members into one room. They were next door to us! If you want the same old BW on the hwy this one fits your needs. Next time we will keep driving on home! We paid over $100 for the one night stay--- too much for re- living the old BW experience. Should be called the old western hotel. My parents wouldn't have paid this much for the same room/ camping experience. I wonder if the kids next door will come back?

"Nice stay"

User 07/07/2016

Great location - right on Kings Bay with a boat launch. Nice breakfast buffet. Well stocked, clean. Rooms are in the middle of remodeling. Our room had been updated, but the AC smelled musty, as it does in most places near the water with high humidity. Room was otherwise clean and comfortable.

We had 4 rooms for the opening of scallop season. The staff was friendly and helpful. The boat dockage was great and so was the breakfast. We enjoyed having the restaurant next door with the live music. The outdoor grill area worked out great when we grilled steaks the first night.

This Best Western is in an excellent location. It is right on Crystal River and a dive shop on site to rent boats, get a guide to see manatee, dive, or just cruise the river. All rooms have been recently upgraded and are fresh and clean. Friendly staff. A hot breakfast is included. Pool area with covered picnic tables and gas grills. There is also a restaurant next door with live music and outdoor seating.

We decided on this hotel on a whim and were satisfied with our stay. The room was clean and there was a good, warm breakfast the next morning. It is right next to the dock were you can kayak or go on a tour to swim with the manatees. I definitely would recommend that too!

"Great Customer Service, VERY clean rooms, Great Location for Boaters."

Sherri9360, Cranesville, Pennsylvania 29/04/2016

We were told to book here due to being close to shops and such. Well....they are not walking distance....but the hotel was VERY clean. They have a small pool but very nice! You will look out on the dock slips. This is geared more toward boaters and party people. We booked the king balcony room to find we overlooked a mechanics shed for boat motors. SKIP the King rooms....there was no furniture/Chairs to sit on the balcony. The front desk clerk told us people throw them over. LOL. The breakfast buffet was VERY clean and good!!!! This was a great hotel. We must of had new carpet in our room (smelled like new carpet) as we had to check out early due to both of getting headaches every time we entered the room. Had to be the carpet....fumes. But that is not a reason not to visit this hotel.

Odd layout with several small buildings spread over a couple of blocks. Very quiet at night with access to a boardwalk on the waterfront. Breakfast was good and the connected restaurant (Crackers) had very good seafood. Only issue was the lack of a fridge/microwave in the rooms.

"My stay in Crystal River"

"A very nice surprise"

wcbbham, Birmingham, Alabama 31/03/2016

We were traveling to Captiva with a stop over in Dunedin from our home 11 hours away and wanted to split the drive. Initially we had thought we might spend the night in Tallahassee. But after grabbing an early dinner at a nice Mediterranean restaurant there was plenty of day light remaining. So, we decided to drive on and Crystal River looked to be a reasonable target. Using Trip Advisor we found the top rated motels to be fully booked. The Best Westetn was the highest ranked of the remaining choices. I wasn't sure what we would get. We were pleasantly surprised by the attractive layout of the hotel. Then we discovered it backed up to the Bay and that there was a nice boardwalk fronting the water. The view from the boardwalk was very nice. My wife was excited to spot a couple of manatees. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. Would gladly return to this spot.

This hotel is attractively landscaped and the accommodations clean. Located for easy access for early morning swim with manatees. Was especially nice compared to other pet friendly hotel (LaQuinta) where we stayed in another part of Florida. Rooms at this Best Western were very clean and no pet odors. Staff could not have been nicer, and girls loved the out door pool.

"Are You Kidding me?!?"

User 29/03/2016

We did not actually stay at this hotel but I felt so frustrated by who represented it that Im writing this review. My family of 5 are visiting from Michigan and decided to kayak at Crystal River. We paddled out into kings Bay and decided we would head to Crackers for lunch before paddling back. As we approached the restaurant there were two docks out front with various pontoon boats etc in the slips. We noticed one dock had 3 kayaks tied up to it do we figured this is where we were supposed to tie up at. My 14 yr old daughter was able to get off her kayak first and came to help her mom. Well things didn't go well as I was trying to get on to the dock my kayak tipped over and I went under water. I was unable to get onto my kayak again being in nose deep water. As I was treading water and searching for a way out of the murky water a man came over and asked if we were staying at the hotel. We said no and he said "well you need to get off this dock". I said " well I'm not on the dock but I would like to be". I fell in and I can't get out. He turned and walked back without even trying to help me out of the water!! I was in water for 15-20 min with my family trying different ways to get me out. Finally my daughter got into someone's pontoon and put the ladder down for me to climb out. Once on my kayak again we decided to skip lunch and head back but before I did I asked someone on another dock what hotel was next door so I could write this review. I am a 51 yr old woman. I did not decide to take a "swim" in the murky water on purpose! I was embarrassed and mortified that I had fallen in. I want to say Shame on you for not helping me out of the water and for only worrying about someone tying onto the dock. Maybe if you are this concerned about people mistakenly tying up to the wrong dock then you should have it posted somewhere to ward off innocent out of town families from accidentally trying to tie up at the hotel's dock to have lunch. If this is the kind of representation you want from your hotel then so be it. I am calling you out on it

"Great location, close to lots of activities."

leigh19872016, Clarksville, Ohio 28/03/2016

The staff were very friendly. We had planned to arrive later on Friday, closer to check in time but decided to drive through the night. When we arrived at 5:00 a.m., the front desk employee gladly checked us into our room. She was also able to quickly help me change room types to an efficiency room with 2 double beds, pull out couch and kitchenette. Room was clean and nice. We liked having a patio area (although no chairs). Also like the tile entrance which was nice for hanging wetsuits, swimsuits, etc. Only drawback is a very tiny bathroom and easy to get messy due to water from the shower. Also they also provide towels for 3 people and we had 5, so we were constantly asking for more towels. Pool & hot tub area was nice & clean. Loved the location near the water and also within walking distance to many restraraunts. Would definitely stay here again.

"Perfect Boating Amenities - Drab Rooms & Tiny Beds"

Sharon H, Longwood, Florida 27/03/2016

The staff at this hotel were very kind and pleasant. The newly renovated lobby; dining room and pool/dock area's were fresh and inviting. The boat slips and docks were adjacent to all of the hotel rooms which made it convenient for any boating or fishing activities. Unfortunately, we had planned to stay here for a few nights but cut our trip short because the beds were so uncomfortable and the bathrooms were extremely tiny. The beds definitely do not offer the preferred sleeping arrangements as my husband and I are small individuals. They are full size beds at best. It's too bad that more money was not allocated toward renovating the guest rooms. Fortunately for us, the weather was beautiful and allowed us to spend most of our time outside and on the river. Wished the rooms were cleanlier; more comfortable and brighter.

"Clean with great location on the water"

sdbrauer, Brevard, North Carolina 20/03/2016

This newly renovated hotel was just what we were hoping for. Clean rooms, welcoming staff and a nice location right on the water. Their pool with patio area has a great view of the water and is walking distance to restaurants. The morning breakfast is your typical pancakes, yogurt, eggs, toast, etc. but the staff really makes it a point to have the dining area clean and well stocked throughout the entire mad morning rush. If you're in town to swim with the manatees or kayak the rivers, this is a great, affordable place to stay.

"Very nice place "

Jamie J, Stillwater, Minnesota 19/03/2016

We originally booked our room at another hotel in town however after reading bad reviews we decided to switch last minute. We are very pleased with our decision. The Best Western in Crystal River was very nice and clean. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed the large breakfast dining area. It was a nice room! My kids enjoyed walking on the paths around the buildings. Ample parking with convenience to our room for loading/unloading.

"An older hotel, but nice."

User 18/03/2016

This hotel is right by the dock so it is great for kayakers. It was clean and the front desk personnel were usually helpful and nice. Make sure you get coupons for area attractions. The breakfast included was very nice. They had everything you could want. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom. It was too small and it was very hard to keep the floor from flooding because of the type of shower curtain they use. Be aware that it is next door to a restaurant and it can get loud at night and especially on weekends. Cracker's food and service were good. It is next door and easy to get to. You can not walk to 3 sisters. You must go to the chamber of commerce on 19 and take a trolley in or you need to boat there. Conditions for paddling are usually windy. It is not too bad for experienced paddlers. We saw lots of manatees at the springs even though we were not allowed to into the spring itself. The spring is probably not even a mile for paddlers. The hotel is very close to other good paddles. Weeki Wachee is about 35 mintues south. There are other nice springs that are within 30 minutes too.

great location restaurant next store on river nice views of the river. able to park your car outside of your room, if on first floor. If you are in a hurry to get into your room right away, make sure the front desk is aware of that. We waited 2 hrs to get into our room with at reservations that was called in at 2:30 and we arrived at 4:00 and waited until 6pm. They did give us a lower rate for our room when we checked out.

The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed. The onsite laundry was a real bonus. The breakfast was included. This is a large resort and is noted for its fishing and diving experiences. We were just there overnight but it was a delight.

check-in with Kay was very friendly and fast! I told her it was a birthday get away and she gave us an upstairs room facing the pool and river beautiful! The room was very clean new air/heater worked great and the filter squeeky clean! They even had a remote control in wrapper in the drawer that said it was disinfected!! And the free breakfast was the best I have seen yet! They had so much food from fresh coffee, tea juices, hot chocolate, eggs, sausage bagels, whole grain bread, danish, pancakes and make your own waffles, oatmeal, grits, yogurt everything was great!!! The staff were all very friendly! It was pet friendly and safe! Restaurant next door was also fast and friendly a little pricey but good amount of food and taste great! The beds and pillows were excellant!! restful night sleep! We live in south florida and will be back soon!!

"OK for 1 or 2 nights"

Bastian_S75, Cologne, Germany 01/03/2016

As a lot of the hotels in Florida (coast) it's an expensive hotel. Breakfast is standard, rooms OK. Due to the fact that a lot of diving groups start more or less in front of the hotel it can be loud in the morning hours. But: Great place to start manatee tours !!! :)

"Excellent-just that simple!"

tbc3, Phenix City, al. 26/02/2016

From the time I entered the office I was impressed with the welcoming and clean, fresh atmosphere, including the desk clerks friendliness. I found the room to be roomy, clean, quiet, and with a view of the water from our window. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a perfect nights sleep. My room number was 4101 and was located on the ground floor directly behind the office and convenient to the breakfast area which was also the cleanest, roomiest, and best continental breakfast selection we have had at any motel, on any trip. The location is great for just an overnight stay or for a Manatee viewing trip with cruises leaving the dock on the properties. Next door and within walking distance is a downhome restaurant (called Crackers) with very good food (primarily seafood) and large helpings at reasonable prices. I read reviews which stated it was noisy, which must have been in a different building from ours, as we had no problems at all with noise. I cannot answer for anyone but my wife and I, and we were totally satisfied. For what it's worth we have been in all 50 states numerous times, which may lend validity to our opinions. Hope this helps.

We stopped here at the last minute, finding a room available at this riverfront spot on Valentine's Day. We were eating at Cracker's, a great restaurant next door, thinking about lodging, when we noticed this hotel next door. A call to the front desk had us a room after our dinner. Our room had no fridge or microwave, had the spaces for them, but no appliances. They told us up front, and it didn't matter to us. Everything looked recently updated. The linens and towels fresh and clean, really great breakfast room. Only negative is no elevators in our building, we made it up, but if you have issues with stairs, ask. Great spot. Lots of scuba divers!

""Recently renovated""

User 09/02/2016

We stay at BW regularly and this BW was just below par. They advertise with recently renovated rooms which leaves me 2 questions: 1. How recent is recent? 2. Who did the renovations? The rooms just looked tired, the airco was beyond loud, the matrasses were comfy but the box spring part of the bed made this horrific sound every time you moved. The whole rooms just looked tired and worn

"Dated but clean"

User 07/02/2016

Room clean but dated to older Best Westerns. Bathroom & shower in a very small area. Floor can be slippery there. No bath mat. Our room had 2 smallish double beds. They were on box springs with a very thick mattress. It made it interesting climbing in bed. Friends in next room did not have that problem. Staff was pleasant. There was a small pool & hot tub at end of the parking lot near the water's edge. Llounge area with chairs were set up. Hot tub looked inviting, but air was chilly the night we stayed. Location was very close to where we were going to get up early to sim with manatees-Birds Underwater. Parking lot was spacious.

"Great Time"

Randy B, pensacola, United States 04/02/2016

Very clean, nice staff ! Great location with a dive shop attached! The Manatees were awesome. Nice weekend getaway! The complimentary l breakfast was great and the rooms were nice and large .The heated pool and hot tub came in handy. Pet friendly

"One Night Stand"

H5RSports, Meansville, Georgia 03/02/2016

Stayed here for one night during our checkout dives. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Can walk next door to Crackers for supper. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Plenty of parking for all size vehicles. There is a dive shop located on site that offers Manatee tours. Within walking distance to more food and shops.

"Location, location"

Brenda H H, Toronto, Canada 01/02/2016

Stayed for one night and it was excellent. Very clean and extremely comfortable bed. Right on the water & a manatee sanctuary area. Good restaurant, Crackers, next door. Even had a drink outdoors listening to some live reggae music. Overall, we were quite happy!

"Diver's Delight!"

User 20/01/2016

Great location for diving and snorkel trips with the manatees. Dive shop right on site and the property is waterfront (working waterfront docks). The hotel is recently renovated it appears. Room was well furnished and fresh. Firm beds. Not overly big or small room. It was missing a refrigerator though. Staff was friendly and the free breakfast buffet was extensive and ready to go at 6:30 AM. Overall I'm becoming a big fan of Best Westerns. They're my USA road trip friends!

"Manatee heaven trip"

Jon P, Ellicott City, United States 19/01/2016

This hotel rates amongst the highest. I've stayed at top notch hotels and this is one of them. Very convenient, clean, and at a price that is very competitive. I highly recommend staying there if you are ever in the area.

"One Stop for Family Fun"

Wandersbychoice, Richmond, Virginia 08/01/2016

We were a party of eight friends and family renting several rooms and arriving from different places. I found this hotel to be a great experience. There was plenty of things to keep you occupied at the hotel, pool, hot tub, picnic area, waterfront lounge. It was close to walk to a few restaurants and shops. We enjoyed that it is pet friendly. The restaurant on premises, Crackers is really good and it has both indoor dinning and a Tiki bar. The portions are beyond generous. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The rooms were adequate. We had a fridge with a small freezer. The dive shop is on premises and they were exceptional. My only negative was that my boyfriend thought the bathroom had an odor. (Thus 4 stars). We left the door open with the fan on for this reason. I never noticed it myself. They are undergoing a remodel but any work did not disturb us. What I really enjoyed about this hotel was that you could be dropped off here and find plenty to do without getting into your car. People can eat the included breakfast whenever they want. Some of us took trips from the dive shop while others stayed put and enjoyed relaxing. For this reason its a great place for extended family or groups.

"Fantastic customer service!!"

owiver, Texas 06/01/2016

Sarah at the front desk, if only every Best Western had you working for them... You made our visit spectacular! Thank you for your help and recommendations. Thank you for going above and beyond during our stay. We would choose this BW location again because of you! Breakfasts were good, nice selection and variance on different days. Our room was clean and in good repair. The beds are smaller than are really comfortable for two adults (full size), but everything was clean and we had a great visit. The only down side to our visit was the construction project going on that had direct stair access blocked off. It was a huge pain to lug all our bags "around our fingers to get to our thumb" so to speak, but not something that would make us lower our rating. This location is perfect if planning any water trips out with the dive shop that is located directly behind the motel. Great job BW Crystal River!!!

"Great place for a family stay"

freezingmybuttoff, Ottawa, Canada 05/01/2016

We arrived here after a very cold night in Syracuse, NY. The lady at the front desk was ready for us and she was just great. I had booked a water view room and we got one. The balcony offered some great views of the Crystal River and the boat docks. The room was definitely "tired" but was clean and that is what is important. We had no interruption from other rooms during our stay and did not notice any unusual smells (as read in previous reviews). Breakfast, while standard fare, was put out early and was plentiful. The pool here was wonderful. While it is just a standard hotel pool, there is a large deck and it is located only a few feet away from the water. You could sit here all day with a drink and have plenty to see, both people and wildlife. Crystal River has Osprey nests on top of posts all over town, so you can see plenty of these gorgeous birds around. This hotel is right on the water and there is a nice boardwalk along the river that ends at Crackers restaurant. Very nice as you could walk over, have a bite and some drinks and not worry about having to drive back.

"Nice place"

Jean Anne G, Rockledge, United States 01/01/2016

Nice hotel. Amazing staff. Was under some construction. Perfect place for boat lovers. Manatee tours and nice docks. Staff was great and very helpful. Love the area as well. Very historic town. Great little downtown area with lots to see.

"Inprovments make a difference"

Donald D, Dothan,AL, United States 27/12/2015

I've stayed at this place before and this trip I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements that have been made. Rooms that have been refurbished and don't smell like smoke. The new expanded breakfast area is great. The hot tub has always been my favorite!!!

"Great location but...."

Jan O, Huntsville, Alabama 15/12/2015

The Best Western is located right on King's Bay, a great location for seeing the manatees, which is what we visited Crystal River for. Everyone was very nice and helpful. And our room LOOKED clean but smelled terribly musty. It gave me a terrible headache and allergy symptoms. For the price I paid, I expected much more. But again, great location.

"Great place to swim with the Manatees"

Le-Roi-de-France, Atlanta, Georgia 12/12/2015

The rooms are recently renovated. Not an elegant hotel but reasonably price, clean and quite comfortable. This hotel has a dive shop on the property which make swimming with the Manatees very easy. You can rent everything you need. The pool and hot tub allow relaxation after a day on the water.

"Great location with recently updated rooms and I will be back!"

Robert W, Callaway, Florida 22/11/2015

I've stayed here many times in the past due to its location and closeness to Crackers and Charlie's Fish House restaurants (both within walking distance). I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the rooms had been updated and my room was well-appointed and comfy. In case it makes a difference to someone, all rooms, to my knowledge, have exterior entrances. On this trip, I enjoyed a pretty view of the harbor from my room. Complimentary breakfast included usual fare. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

"Birthday trip"

Dana A, Ocala, Florida, United States 16/11/2015

We were fairly pleased with this hotel. It was clean, which is my biggest concern when it comes to hotels. There is a nice pool and BIG hot tub, which is right by the docks. The lobby and dining room are nice and up to date. I guess I would have been SUPER pleased if I were not expecting a "bay view". Well, if you stand outside the front door and squint your eyes, you can see the bay view. I guess I was lead to believe that the view would be from the window of my room, haha. All that aside, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again when in Crystal River. We enjoyed kayaking and visiting Homosassa Springs wildlife park. Crackers Restaurant, right next door, was GREAT!!

"worst experience ever"

Karen A, Edgewater, United States 09/11/2015

This hotel does not honor special requests, even when made months in advance. Have bad knees and were given rooms on 2nd floor. Staff was rude and not helpful at all, like they wanted you in and out.Breakfast food was terrible and closed earlier than most Best Westerns so a lot of guests like my self had to eat out. Never again stay here!

"A+ Best Western"

DianaLovesTravel, Winter Haven, Florida 01/11/2015

Our stay was better than we expected. Front desk was helpful and friendly, free continental breakfast, located right on the river, clean room, pool and hot tub area taking care off, even has BBQ grilles to use with picnic area and within walking distance to a few restaurants. Would recommend.

"Great place to stay!"

Valerie S, Panama City Beach, United States 01/11/2015

Right on the water with manatee river rides available. Great staff, cleanliness and rates! Remodeled rooms, great free breakfast, water boardwalk to good restaurant next door. Manager, Francis, is great!

Kristyn W, Wellington, Florida 28/10/2015

The location was nice but the layout of the hotel was odd. Everything was spread out. Also, the bed was so uncomfortable and the bathroom was old and extremely small. I personally, would not stay there again. I would recommend looking into another hotel.

903Mullet, Anna Maria Island, Florida 20/10/2015

We stayed at this hotel twice while on this vacation. The first stay we had excellent service at the front desk and a great room.So on our way from North Florida back to the airport, we stayed there again. The second time the first room we were assigned reeked of smoke. We then asked for a different room, and that room smelled like mold. So, we went back to the person at the front desk and asked for our money back. We got no apology, she was brusque and curt. From there we went over to the Hampton Inn and that went fine.

"Very nice!"

Lynn_alva, Alva, Fl 14/10/2015

Lovely area to stay. We had originally planned to stay four days, but we became bored, and decided to return home. Rooms were nice and clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was okay, not as plentiful as the BW in Arlington, Va. Coffee nice and hotel and the gal in the area was funny, as we tried to teach her Spanish. The only complaint was the fact that the area where we roomed, the walls were very thin, and not only did my husband snore, but also the two gentlemen next to us. Being that the hotel did not have too many guests, I feel that the guests should have been placed further apart. Would I stay there again? Definitely! Being on the water is always a treat for us.

"Fishing Fun"

Deborah H, Inverness, United States 05/10/2015

The hotel was clean and very big. If you want to stay a while you can even cook with everything you need in the room. My husband and I go so we can fish the beautiful water in Crystal river. I loved the new carpet, the kitchen was beautiful and they added computers in the lobby. Being right next to the dive shop is awesome so we were able to leave our boat in the water overnight safely.

Gretchen F, Naples, Florida 01/10/2015

We are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and everyone was most helpful. We were given an upgrade for our room (one with a balcony overlooking the water). The hotel is newly refurbished and it shows. The breakfast room is spacious and bright. The pool is spotless as is the spa. Everything about this resort is lovely.

Very friendly staff and always hard at work. The new beds are terrific and the new furniture as well. Can't beat the view! They now offer a full breakfast, for free, not just a continental. It's very convenient to rent pontoon boats as the dive shop is right on the premises.

We have stayed there years before and it was OK. Not usually my favorite kind of place but they have refurbished everything. Everything is new. New high quality mattress, four fluffy pillows per bed, new bedding and carpeting. It was really nice and clean. They have s good breakfast buffet. We will stay there again.
