Best Western Plus Hotel Northwoods Inn, Crescent City

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff was excellent and the room was very clean. It's just minutes away from the beautiful Jedediah Smith State Park. It's really a great deal for the price. The room was comfortable. We didn't try the breakfast.

This hotel was nice and clean and we would probably stay here again, however the steps to get up to our room were tilted and the foundation was cracked. Also, the edges around our door shone the light all the way around it and the sound of the road traffic was loud. We would choose a room further in the back. The breakfast provided was a nice selection, however, we found the pancakes tasteless, french toast a bit stale and the bacon thin and greasy. On the plus side, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the eating area is very large and has a great view of the Bay. In addition, the pool, hot tub and sauna were all very nice! However bring your own towel as the towels provided are quite small. Great location to explore the Redwoods!

I've stayed here the past two years. The have clean rooms and they're breakfast is always on point. The parking lot is always clean and maintained. The pool and spa is a great feature that the hotel offers. Great place and great staff.

Staff and service are awesome. Everyone is accommodating, friendly and dedicated to us having a wonderful stay. The pool, hot tub and sauna is super after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The location of the hotel works well for the Redwoods. The breakfast that is included has great service, but the food taste is lacking. We had lots of difficulty with the stairs and outside tile floor. Tiles cracked and became loose while walking on them. Stairs to second floor have uneven heights, making them very awkward to negotiate. Road noise and a fog horn from a nearby lighthouse are persistent 24/7, even in the room. Overall, we had a pleasant trip. Next visit, sure, I will stay here if I don't have to use the stairs.

Marcus (the best!), Shila, and Jose were phenomenal at breakfast! The night manager at 8pm and his employee were also great. Breakfast was soo good! The room was fine, clean, what i'd expect at BW. There was some dust(?) on my pillow but no big deal. TV guide was great to have! A good short stay in the redwoods with welcoming staff! It is also right in front of the beach.

Marcus (the best!), Shila, and Jose were phenomenal at breakfast, and so was the manager and employee who helped us check in at night. Room was fine, what you would expect for a BW. Pretty clean except some dust on the pillows. One thing to note is you can hear a lot through the walls but we were ok. Great short stay to explore the redwoods!

a one night stay while visiting the Redwoods. The breakfast was exceptional (much more than I expected), the pool and hot tub were good, the room with 2 queen beds was ok for one night. Beds appeared to be the "full queen" size (something new = between a "full" and a "queen" = NOT as big as a Queen).

Shout out to Ricardo at the front desk. He was super friendly and very helpful, both on the phone when I called to say we would be late, and when we arrived. All the staff seemed happy and cheerful, but Ricardo really stood out. We had an inside room on the 3rd floor. The room was VERY spacious, with a full kitchen. We heard almost no noise outside the room, and it was dark and cool enough for restful sleep. The only improvement we could suggest is the breakfast. I'm not knocking down the rating because everything else was so stellar, but the breakfast could be better. The hot food was served, but it was on bread plates, not full sized plates or even dessert sized plates. This forces people to go back if they want more than a little serving of eggs and a sausage or two. All else with breakfast was fine, and food was on par with other breakfasts we've had. Despite that small oddity about breakfast, the stay was fantastic, and we would definitely stay here again.

I've been staying here for work in Crescent City for the past 8 weeks. The service and friendliness of the staff is great. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good and you can't beat the location across from the harbor.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and gave us extra towels for the pool/hot tub room as well. The breakfast buffet (served on the 2nd floor of the Northwood building from 6-9am) had a lot to offer (French toast sticks, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuts and gravy, hashbrowns, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, oatmeal, orange juice, coffee, cold cereal w/ options of soy, almond, and cow's milk, and granola bars) and the breakfast staff was very helpful. Photo is the view of the harbor from the breakfast room. The room was nice and clean, the only downside was that the beds were VERY firm, so I didn't get great sleep because of that. Overall, a 4 star stay for me, though it would be 5 stars with better beds!

The saving grace of this hotel is the breakfast staff ... Shaiila, Marcus and Jose H.! These people would do anything to make your experience better. They provide friendly greetings and are genuinely willing to help in anyway. And, the breakfast food was good too! The only bad thing about breakfast was that every day you have to go to the office to obtain a breakfast "pass". Why couldn't they be dated and given to patrons upon check-in? Unfortunately, the room itself wasn't that great and the floor felt dirty, with weird outside door which just felt unsafe.

Ricardo, Krista (desk) and Jose (breakfast) were all awesome. Housekeeping failed to clean out rotting takeout from previous room occupant after we called and asked, and housekeeping also failed to clean the room.

Crescent City, CA - Great West Coast treasure. Our room was on the far East side and we couldn't hear HWY 101 at all. Quite room, great location right across from the ocean. Seals within walking distance. Big shout out to Jose Hernandez who managed the morning breakfast. He is an example of excellent customer service. Thank you.

Front desk was nice and professional, Jose at breakfast was very polite and friendly. Great stay. Rooms are clean and setup well, showers hot and good pressure, there's a pool. Great staff and great service

Very clean, friendly staff. The exceptional part is the full breakfast. The food is nice but the workers are very very friendly and efficient! A shout out especially to Jose, his bright attitude and enthusiasm each of our four mornings was absolutly wonderful!

We found a sack of used bedding outside room door at check in, along with what looked like giant lint balls spread around hallway in front of door. Phone in room didn't work. We tried calling because we weren't informed at check in that a tiny slip of paper with the wifi password was enclosed in the key sleeve. A young woman from the front desk knocked about 45 mins after we checked in, then opened door, to see if the room was occupied. She told me it was impossible to know which rooms had people in them and which ones didn't…?!? It's a hotel geared toward families, as not many hotels in Crescent City have a pool. The pool is only accessible from the outside. It's in a separate building from the guest rooms. Non-stop noise in hallways from 6:47 AM on. Guest room doors slammed really loudly. I'm sure families were getting breakfast or headed to pool. The inside of the room was clean.

What a great place. Right off US 101. We were on our motorcycles and it was easy to enter and exit. The room was cozy and large. The bed was super comfortable. Morning breakfast was superb, although the bacon and sausage was a bit cold. Had to micro it. They offered a full breakfast buffet for guests. We stayed one night for our trip, but could have easily stayed longer.

Clueless untrained staff unfamiliar with the property, VERY dirty rooms, and definitely overpriced. This is a worst Best Western I have ever stayed at. Breakfast staff and food were the best part of the stay.

The staff at this hotel was rude. When we complained about a broken air conditioner they rudely told us we would have to wait for the morning. They would not adjust our bill due as a result. The room smelled. The TV did not work. The beds were uncomfortable. Do not stay here.

Remodeling is almost complete. The windows actually open more than three inches. New air conditioning that does not smell musty. Excellent mattress and bed linens. Delicious biscuits and gravy. MUCH improved internet, even with a full house! North woods Inn is not slacking, Thank you!

Poor quality, tired dark noisy rooms - when the upstairs room flushed the toilet or had a shower the noise in our room was indescribable. The breakfast buffet was poor and the tables were not cleaned at all between uses by different guests. Best Western standards have fallen and we would not use again.

Even though no two Best Westerns are the same, you generally expect something between a Motel 6 and a Hampton Inn in terms of quality and amenities. Going by that criterion, this property delivered. The room was comfortable for a night. Staff we met were welcoming. And it was nice they serve a full hot breakfast buffet. What was not as nice was that it took 20 minutes to get it because the hotel was fully booked and everyone seemed to partake at the same time. All food was served by staff. But at times, it was one guy doing everything and that slowed things way down. Short staffing is not unique to this property, of course, but there needs to be more of a happy medium especially during prime tourist season. With that many people standing on a line, you need to take more of an all-hands-on-deck approach. If that means management helps spooning out your eggs and bacon, so be it.

The lobby was clean, breakfast was fine and the receptionist was nice. But I would not want to stay here again. It did not feel clean, beds were uncomfortable and didn't feel like the best area. It was right across from a marina which was cool. I was likely more worried about the area because I had my kid with me. Just not the best family place.

I liked this hotel a lot until I had to check out. The room was new, the breakfast was very good and the front desk employees were very friendly when I checked in. There was no one at the front desk when I tried to check out at 8:30 am. There was a woman in the lobby who was sweeping the floor, however. I told her I wanted to check out and she said to leave the keys on the desk. I told her I wanted to confirm what I was being charged. She said they don't give receipts or check people out. She gave me a lot of attitude before she finally told me how much I was being charged. Horrible person and horrible experience. I dropped my rating to a 4 because of the check-out experience. Otherwise it would have been a 5.

Room doors were painted while we were out of the room without are knowledge. Room door was propped open exposing personal items to theft. Hotel did not communicate any of this work being done at check in.

very dirty, food area was not clean outside with people drunk both nights, not a autistic friendly hotel, nice location though! did not use pool because it was extremely hot in the area. food in the am was very bad with no fruit or gluten free options

The place was clean, quiet and comfortable. The lobby staff was amazing! So friendly and courteous. The breakfast was super amazing! All the hot food you could want and super friendly kitchen staff. It was a busy place, but everyone treated us like we were the only ones there.

Dirty floor and dirty microwave in room not huge variety at breakfast was not offered are waters at Che k in for being elite they did not offer to correct it either was very disappointed never been to a best western that did not correct an issue

We enjoyed our stay here. This is a great choice when you are in Crescent City. The breakfast room was clean the staff was super friendly and very patient with our two indecisive grandkids. The room for breakfast had a great view. We would definitely stay here again when we're in the area

We stayed in a partial harbor view room with 2-Q beds. While we can see the harbor, but we cannot see the sunset. The room was clean. The sink was inside the bathroom, which means if someone was in it and locked the door, others could not use the sink, which is a minor negative point. We were provided with one voucher at check-in (even though we were staying for multiple nights) for breakfast. The hotel had several buildings. Check-in in one building with a few rooms. The room we were in was in a separate building on the third floor. The restaurant was in a different building as well. Overall, will definitely stay here again if we visit Crescent City in the future.

Very friendly front desk employees. Our room did not have the updated shower/tub that you can see on their website. The tub was very old and chipped. We could hear the people walking above us. The real issue is the floor was filthy! My husbands new white socks were black. He went to the front desk and asked for a mop. We were told that housekeeping had locked them up. We used hot water and towels to clean the floor. The health department needs to fine them.

If you are thinking about slowing down and stopping, step back on the gas and keep going. It's a bit run down, keys needed to be programmed 2x. Breakfast appeared to be left overs from the local prison. Staff was very kind…

Located right in front of the harbor with easy access to walk to. Food and stores were within a few minutes drive. Great spot to stay while visiting the Redwoods National and State Parks. Crescent City had it's own views and activities to offer as well located right on the coast.

Where do I begin? This is one of those hotel rooms that I was impressed when i first walked in but when I started looking, it turned to disappointment. The pros: It is located right near the beach. The front desk staff was very friendly. There is a pool my granddaughter enjoyed. The walls seem to be pretty insulated because I don't hear noise from other rooms. There is a free breakfast that I haven't tried yet. The cons: our room was very dirty. I am attaching some pics. It isn't alll housekeeping's fault. They cheaped out and bought the cheapest doors and mop boards that are the white pre-primed and then they didn't paint them. I owned apartment houses and if you don't paint those and then, even worse, put caulk on them, it's impossible to keep clean. I went to town with my Lysol wipes but it didn't help much. There was a blob of something dried on the bathroom floor. Don't want to know what that was. We had room 101 which is nice and sunny and has a sliding door so the pro is that you can get fresh air. The con is you feel a tad exposed and if you don't let the fresh air in, the musty smell is kind of strong esp in the bathroom do we kept the door shut. The toilet is loose so it blanks when you sit on it and the tub spout dribbles. So, it wasn't the worst stay ever but not the greatest either. There isn't much choice in Crescent City, so I prob would give it another try.

Very nice place. Beautiful room. I recommend this place. Beautiful view. Hot breakfast in the AM. Close to shopping and restaurants. Across the street from the marina and just down from the beach. just lovely.

Checked into this hotel and was given a key to a room that was being used as storage, told the staff and was given another room. The new room had not yet been cleaned from the previous guests, the bed was unmaid and room was a mess. Eventually staff downgraded me to another room for the same price unpaid.

*Note: This review is from a stay in late April 2022.. Night manager was excellent. Helpful, friendly, capable (working with multiple guest at the same time) as well as being helpful with problems that arose. (Morning manager was helpful as well, also enjoyed the quiet music in the lobby as I started my day). Breakfast was Cruise ship first days buffet style. All the regular choices but served from behind a barrier by 3 very helpful gentlemen. If I'd had any cash I would have tossed a couple of bills into the tip jar. - HOT water. If you have small children be aware their ability to use the sink. - Smelled.. not at all. No odors of any kind either withinn the hotel proper or in the room VERY welcomed. - Bed was comfy/clean. - 43" TV was large enough. Usual channels. *it was a bit "fritzy" till I moved the box under the screen out in front a bit and all the channels cleaned up. Usual channels and HBO/Showtime. Pool/Spa indoors 80 and 103 degrees respectively. There is a sauna kept pretty hot. Hot DRY air only, no "putting dippers of water on stones. Both a restroom and a large (family??) "changing" room are just off to the side of the sauna. Very convenient. Heating/Cooling is handled by the controls on the All-in-On A/C unit under the window. - There was no actual "creamer" (liquid) for the coffee. - Breakfast is served upstairs in the restaurant next door. This breakfast was the usual, Cruise ship first days buffet style. All the regular choices but served from behind a barrier by 3 very helpful gentlemen. If I'd had any cash I would have definitely tossed a couple of bills into the tip jar. *Note: a couple years ago I overnighted here to a Sunday morning and the Sunday morning buffet brunch was a sight to behold (and eat). Not sure if it's still the amazing spread post covid.. There are 3 buildings. The back one has some nice views of grassed areas out back. The front view is somewhat blocked by the restaurant and by all the sailboats moored right across the street. - The beach is within walking distance. As well as downtown - such as it is. - The "Good Harvest Cafe" (and bar - upstairs) is next door. Got some great reviews from many people - including me. Nice people, helpful, good food. -Outside the pool there is a covered patio with tables a sink/facet and charcoal grill. My check in guy was helpful and a delight to work with. My room was missing the Shower curtain and he got me one right away. - Which really, was the only (temporary) problem with t

The Best Western Crescent City has some really nice, clean, comfortable rooms with fantastic views. Unfortunately it also has some dungeons. If your day is lucky you might get one of the nice rooms, being a regular 'Platinum Elite' member apparently makes no difference, even on a rainy Sunday night. Breakfast consisted of poor quality institutional slop, the homeless and booster bag clients scarfed all the donuts and any individually packaged items. The bed was excellent and the two towels were clean, but bring your own soap!

I don't usually write a review, but the hospitality at the hotel prompted me to do so. Ricardo at the front desk was exceptional. I requested to change rooms twice and Ricardo did not hesitate to help me find a room that would fit my needs. He was very welcoming and professional each time I went into the lobby. In addition, Patricia reassured me that the comfort of their guest is the priority of the hotel. I truly felt that way. The staff at the breakfast buffet were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet and served my needs for a quick stay, but it is really the staff that shine here.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast servers were the highlight of the trip! They were very friendly and outgoing and gave us great tips on things to do and places to go in the area.

Friendly staff. Fairly clean. Room seemed to be refreshed lately. King bed was not the most comfortable. Nice view across to the harbor. Dry sauna was relaxing. We stayed on the first floor. Room was pretty quiet. We would stay here again

We were passing through Crescent City and needed a room for the night. We made reservations with BW because we've always had good experiences with them. This was no different. Our room was in a back building, away from the busy street, so we had a very nice restful night. The bed was very comfortable. I'd call it medium firm, with a soft top. The breakfast was very nice, with staff to serve the hot food, and plenty of room to distance from others if you wanted to. We would definitely stay here again if the need arises.

We got into town near dark and drove past all the places in town to stay. We were tempted by the new Quality Inn but they only had four cars in their parking lot. We decided that this Best Western property looked to be a good bet. Lots of customers' cars in their lot. Nice looking buildings. At the front desk, Ricardo gave me the password so I could use their lobby computer to book the room. Ended up being able to use some Rewards points to get a free room. Ricardo's front desk customer service skills are great, and every other front desk person we spoke with was also great. They have elevators in a couple of their buildings and handy luggage carts which made settling into our room easy and convenient. Two thumbs up.

A long drive on highway 101 brought us to Crescent City at the end of the day. We checked in at the Best Western thinking "good brand name, this place will be just fine." And, at first, it was. Ricardo checked us in, gave us the critical info, and off we went to our room--next to the hotel's laundry room. It was noisy, but we were assured things would quiet down in the evening. And they did. The room was fine for what it was: an average C+ motor hotel room. We were tired, hungry, ready to call it a day. We had some work to do and needed wifi for emails. Uh, oh. Wifi was spotty. Kept disconnecting. Then disappeared completely. Neither our phones nor our laptops could hold a connection. Ricardo apologized for this and told us the hotel might not have enough bandwidth to accommodate all the guests. Okay, it's not the end of the world. We'd try later. We went to dinner, came back, same story. Again, not critical. How about a hot shower? Uh, oh, number two: No hot water. Ricardo apologized. Offered another room. Again, no hot water. Ricardo was great in trying to help solve the problem, but the fact remained: there was no hot water, no wifi, and no one to fix the problem until the next day, and we'd be long gone by then. He tried hard and did what he could to make things right, but his resources were limited. We checked out, drove a few hundred feet, and checked in at another motel, also a C+. But they had hot water and wifi. And charged $20 less. Thank you for your efforts, Ricardo.

This is one of my favorite Hotels. We have stayed here many times now and It just gets everything right. The staff is always nice. Somehow in making my reservation online It booked me for three rooms instead of just one. The desk clerk fixed the problem without hassle. And the two women in the breakfast room were SO sweet. On a 5 night road trip this was the only Hotel where the employees were wearing masks without exception. On our whole trip It felt like Yosemite, Starbucks in San Jose and the Northwoods Inn were the only ones aware of the pandemic. The covid protocols here are perfect! Nothing over the top, just common sense, lets keep everyone safe stuff. And everyone was able to enjoy a GREAT breakfast safely. Well Done! I requested a ground floor exterior room and it was PERFECT! It was pouring rain so it was super nice to be able to park right in front of the room. Very comfortable beds. Best nights sleep of our 5 night trip for me. It was also the lowest rate we paid. GREAT value! Don't even trouble your mind with considering other lodging in Crescent City. This is the place.

Our room was clean, the service was awesome. The location was great. With food close by. We had a view of the port . with a great sunset. The beach was close enough you could walk. I would definitely stay there again.

We've stayed at a few places in Crescent City and much prefer this Best Western. The buildings are older but well maintained and very clean. We enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub. We walk next door to the Good Harvest for dinner and across the highway for a stroll along the harbor. The breakfast is in a large room with a nice view and plenty of room to spread out.

Very run down room. Dust laden baseboards, dirty floors ( I thought I was wiping a bug off the floor with a wet wipe and it came out with grey dirt) We are traveling during Covid and expected better! Room 212. I will say the breakfast was great and the staff at the restaurant were wonderful.

We stay at this best western a few times a year for sports traveling. I have a large family of 8 so I always need the largest room occupancy. $284.00 a night. I don't mind paying that much because it's normally clean and what we need. Definitely not this time. The smoke smell in the room was so fresh and awful my allergies kicked right in. Then half the kitchen ware was missing, the toilet seat was half off, the kitchen still had food and dirty dishes in it. The shower drain was full of pubic hair. The previous guest had stopped by for his drug tin he left. Which was right where he said it would be. The elevator had stopped working. I tried calling the front desk to only realize a busy time for over an hour. So I decided I would walk over and see what can be done. I was met with a oh well we don't have extra toilet seats just hanging around. No we don't have any option for you moving rooms. And when I asked about the elevator he proceeded to tell me “ you don't understand how elevators work”. Mind you I have been married to an elevator mechanic for 17 years.

I stayed in corner king room no view out front window but decent view of forget at side of building. Room was huge and had a fantastic bathroom. Reminds me of the big suite bathrooms at top level Marriott. It had a fantastic bed and was very quiet. They have an elevator as well as fully stocked snack and soda machines. Most machines since covid have been empty at other hotels. That makes me feel life is returning back to normal! Very friendly and helpful staff upon check. Room was spotless! Only complaint they have a hard line on 4pm check in. Other than that I totally recommend!

We stayed here on our honeymoon 13 years ago. This was our first time back since then. The property was in great shape (even better than the first time). The rooms were immaculate, updated! Great seafood restaurants near by (although the best one 'the Beachcomber' had closed because of Covid). We didn't realize until the next morning that the onsight restaurant had re-opened. But the BW breakfast was great- they served buffet style, but staff served us (covid protocols) but the most options of any of the Best Westerns on our trip. Definately headed back here (especially since we still haven't got to the Big Trees...would enjoy doing some fishing here as well).

Beautiful location and easy to get to. We've stayed here numerous times over the past 4 years. Staff is always very courteous and helpful! The décor is pleasing to the eyes and our room was very comfortable! Our continental breakfast was delicious and hot!

This hotel is in a great location in Crescent City on US 101 Hwy. The front hotel building, 2nd floor, which my sisters and I had a room, can view the harbor, its such a wonderful sight to see and look at. It was a great room, very clean and was nice to retreat too after two busy days there in Crescent City and surrounding nearby towns. It also a pool, hot tub, and a dry sauna to relax in from being busy all day too!!!!!

Our stay was comfortable, the beds and linens were nice. The pool and fitness area was closed due to Covid. The location of the hotel is right across from the marina and has a lovely view. Breakfast was good just arrive as the line could be long and they will close the dining room while you wait to be served.

The carpet in the hallway was heavily stained. There were unlit emergency exits. The room numbering system was very confusing. There were stains or mold around the outer edges of the bathtub shower insert. Breakfast staff was very pleasant but the food was on the lower end of previous BW stays. I felt it was of very poor value at almost $300 per night.

The room was comfortable, but a little small. We were staying one night in our trip up the coast and it was very comfortable. They did a great job on breakfast instead of using the pandemic as an excuse to offer substandard offerings. They went out of their way to make sure you start your day with a decent breakfast. As a very frequent traveler during my retirement, I appreciate that a lot. Kudos to their breakfast staff!

We reserved a harbor view room months in advance for a Wednesday arrival. We showed up and were treated poorly by the desk clerk Haylee and told they were booked and had no view rooms. I asked if there was a ground floor room at least. No Haylee said abruptly. She didn't offer an apology or anything but terrible customer care. We were given the farthest thing from the room we reserved in advance. We were put in the far back building away from pool, away from breakfast,away from harbor and overlooking a parking lot ajd trailer park. Didn't even get a mountain view which would have been better than trailer park. No discount,no apology no service. We stay here everytime we come and spent alot to stay here. Why reserve a room when they give it away to the first person who shows instead of honoring your requests.

I would rate this place excellent, but we had the room next to the side exit door, and could hear the door closing all the time. Not the best location. Other than that, we could not hear anything else. The place is clean, staff is friendly, pricing is about what one would expect. The thing that really stands out was where breakfast is located. It was a shame they only had "to go" breakfast, and although they had a nice selection, and staff on hand to help with any specific details, when COVID-19 is all done, this place is an awesome spot for breakfast. It's on the second floor with either stairs or an elevator to access it, and has a fantastic view of the marina and the ocean. If we ever are in this place overnight again, I would definitely stay here, just not next to the exit door.

Room was not anything like the pictures on website. Our room was in the seperate building, small patio that needed care/cleaning. Mold in bathroom-- celing, shower, along base boards, around toilet paper holder. Dust and dirt between wall and bed, lampshades dusty with dust hanging from them, mini fridge needed cleaned. Spoke with front desk about it and they just said "Im sorry" Did not offer to clean room. Location was the only thing nice about our stay. If you plan on staying there make sure you bring your cleaning supplies. I will never stay at a best western again.

The location was convenient on Highway 101. The check in and check out processes were efficient and the receptionist was friendly. The guest room was clean and the air-conditioner was quiet which ensured a good sleep. The only negative was the hallway. It needed to be vacuumed or clean more frequently. The breakfast was ok, although they ran out of milk for my cereal. The staff took a lot of precaution ensure they complied with COVID regulations.

The price was extreamly high for a cheap hotel. My kids went swimming and dripped water from the room door to the bathroom. I used a towel to clean up the water and the towel was almost completely black. So gross!! I paid $284.72 for a room that should have cost less than $100 based on the quality of the hotel.

The pool was available from early morning to late at night and very much appreciated :) Thank you! Breakfast dining area was lovely, the team members I encountered were conscientious, friendly and very helpful.

Very nice room. Clean. Shower was big and nice. Best shower I've had in a hotel in a very long time. Quiet Accommodations. Staff was very friendly upon check-in. Tour picked us up from lobby which was very convenient. Restaurant next door was decent.

We stopped here for the night after a full day of driving from Garberville through the "Avenue of the Giants" - the hotel was clean and comfortable and very easy to find (on the south end of town on 101). The staff was fine (though did get a bit of 'rude from the girl at the front desk when our room key demagnetized). Due to road construction many people arrived/departed at the same time so things got a little bogged down but the front desk handled it well.

Room was well appointed and very clean; beds were quite comfortable. Enjoyed the free breakfast. Front desk staff (Gianni and Patricia) were helpful and friendly and safety protocols for COVID-19 were in place. Highly recommend! Be sure to enroll in the BW program to earn rewards.

This is a very basic motel. Nothing fancy. Small, but appeared clean. Super noisy though. We could hear every footstep upstairs. In the middle of the night someone, either upstairs or next door, turned on their tap water and it literally sounded like they were in our room. We were up early and eager to leave to continue our Road Trip, but the Desk Staff said breakfast was included. Then, wow! There was a very nice breakfast with the nicest staff serving buffet style. There were lots of choices and it was in a separate large nice dining area. So, basic motel, nice staff and breakfast.

I rarely ever post a comment online, but this hotel was disappointing. Dark and dingy motel room, exterior sidewalk immediately outside of room filthy and large spit or vomit stains, moldy areas in shower, shower controller loose and exposed inside of tile. Not impressed for the money paid for a motel. However, the Harvest cafe next to hotel was wonderful!

We spent two nights with family and had a pleasant stay. The rooms were comfortable and the frig was appreciated. Breakfast worked out ok given the restrictions of Covid. Except for running out of some items and the less than appetizing breakfast sandwiches it was fine. Would definitely return. Every staff person we encountered was super nice.

My wife & I spent three nights at the Best Western in Crescent City, CA. It was a celebration of our 59th wedding anniversary & my wife's birthday, (Can't say how old if I want to celebrate a 60th next year) So glad for Covid restrictions to be over. We very much enjoy the third floor suite with view of the harbor. We weer able to upgrade to this very special room due to long time BW membership. Nice beach near by that was easy to access.

No shower curtain toilet overflowed not working. Will not stay at that best western again. Night guy looked for shower curtain could not find one so he did take $20.00 dollars off bill but morning guy did not want to help me with the toilet problem and was condescending ask for discount because we could not use the toilet and he said we already got one.When I explained that was for the shower curtain he said he could do nothing, Just paid $200.00 for a room with no bathroom. Crescent City has many motel options. The Best Western is one of the only National chains in town. It has somewhat older appointments: we had to unplug the lamp and move the bedside table to plug in our phone charger, and unplug the refrigerator to quiet it. We enjoyed in the indoor pool and hot tub. It was our second time staying here and we'll continue to stay here when visiting the redwoods. We had a first floor room, and we heard a lot of noise from the family with little kids above us — request a second floor room if you can. We also checked out the Saturday morning farmer's market across the street.

Great location, the hotel was right off the main drag across from the waterfront. We had a room on the first floor without much of a view, our car was parked right outside the door. Yes free parking. Room 233 was clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure in the shower, the temp controls worked & was great. We had everything we needed for a great night. We were pleased not to see carpeting in the room. There were computers in the lobby, if needed. There was an indoor swimming pool that was in use by children in the early morning and evening. We've been away for a week and this was by far the only breakfast and best we've seen. The staff was so friendly, helpful and upbeat. There were hot, cold, fruit, juice, cereal selections and a coffee bar. I was even given a tray to help carry 4 cups of coffee back to our room. A shame we're here for only one night we could've stayed a week it's so comfortable and the staff is great!

The place had worst service and humiliating experience. I had requested the room service (based room cleaning) in the morning and we left the room expecting it will be cleaned in our absence. We came back to the room at 10PM and to our surprise, nothing done. Called front desk to report about it and the desk clerk was of NO HELP. Then we talked to the manager and SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE and had all excuses. She even threatened that you can leave the property now if you want (at 10PM IN NIGHT with 2 kids???). SHE was totally unapologetic and not ready to listen. THIS IS MY WORST EXPERIENCE WITH ANY PLACE BY FAR. Hope something is done to expect better service with BW chain else I may start avoiding BW going forward.

The rooms were not fully cleaned, the furniture and mattress were old and worn, some of the hotel staff were stressed and rude, and I would not stay there again. I'm surprised they are a Best Western Plus hotel, because I've usually had much nicer accommodations with Best Western.

I didn't encounter any issues with my stay here. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. There is ample free parking. My only qualm was there was a bar in the shower that made me feel like I was being pushed out in a way. We drove down the 101 from Cannon Beach and stayed here for a night to see Jedediah Smith Park. Would absolutely stay here again!

Michael who served our breakfast was very nice and did a great job. Made our overall stay enjoyable. I am a traveling physician taking care of Covid patients in the hospital and I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the last year. This place was clean and a great deal.

This is an average Best Western with relatively small rooms and rather expensive for its modest quality. The staff is courteous and the rooms are clean, the breakfast is minimalistic. Located on the 101 highway, the motel is easily accessible but very noisy because of the traffic.

Loved the pool, hot tub and sauna and breakfast. They had great tv nice Hot water. The hot tub was hot and loved it. It was our 28th Anniversary and we from Tillamook, Oregon down highway 101 South all the way to Crescent City. Gorggeous drive. Was super fun.

Staff were lovely but this was more like a 2 star hotel at most. It was the most expensive in the area but not worth it. The town was great, everyone was so nice, but there were a lot of other cute quaint hotels that were less expensive. There was hair all over the bathroom floor and no blankets on the bed, just a sheet (and I froze all night and didn't sleep at all). My husband said no more, from now on he's only staying at nicer hotels-I expected more from Best Western

We stayed here 2 nights while visiting the Jedediah Smith State Park and the redwoods in general. Our room was basic but comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. They had a grab-n-go breakfast with lots of choices of items (including hot items). It was a good way to start the day. I appreciated the laundry room and the fact that the washer washed a load of clothes in 28 minutes, so not a lot of time doing laundry. Quick dip in the pool; was clean. Very close to lots of choices to eat as well as the sights. Although right on the 101, there was no traffic noise

This Best Western Plus really defines the PLUS! Great clean rooms with many harbor reviews and a very friendly and helpful staff. There was no maid service during our stay of 3 night but figured it was because of COVID. Good location also.

The third floor is definitely the way to go with an ocean view. The staff is very accommodating especially Hailey, Destannie, Roberto and the manager. They have a free breakfast which offers sweet rolls, cereal and breakfast sandwiches which is pretty basic, with good coffee. You are pretty close to the casino. You can call Amy's taxi or drive. Best Western seems pretty consistent in Northern California making an effort to have better accommodations is seems. They also have a sauna, indoor pool and jacuzzi.

Stayed with my sister over a vacation because there are not too many options in the area and figured best western plus would be decent. The front desk was great but the room was not clean. There were weird stains on the blanket and top sheet. The bed was also supported by random wood planks, not a real bed frame and not super sturdy. It was overall not what I expected for the price. The breakfast was great considering COVID restrictions and when I mentioned the room issues to the front desk, they let me cancel my night but I would not stay here again.

The room was ugly, small and dated. The "breakfast" was horrible. Black specks in the hot water that were NOT corrected when asked. Only one kind of oatmeal - instant apple/cinamon, no unflavored black tea and so on. I will never stat at this location again. The only thing "Plus" about this property is the price. Motel 6 would be a better alternative.

First room we were put in was not cleaned. No shower curtain, no garbage can liners, crumbs and dirt everywhere. The room we were moved to had dirt all over the floors as well. Our keys were deactivated in the middle of our stay. This hotel was a nightmare. I would never reccomend this hotel or even another Best Western again. Their web page boasts of industry leading room cleaning unfortunately that's not true. Their slogan is We Care... that's false as well.

I don't have any and when I vacation at a place that says they have “adult swim” from 10pm-11pm I expect that to be enforced. I certainly would not expect the staff member to come out to close the pool 45 minutes early because the parent they asked to leave was disgruntled and lied stating we had been rude to her children, who we never spoke to or had any contact with. The staff member screamed at us (literally) and threw us all out into the parking lot where the hooligan teens who were with the offending party tried to start a scuffle in the parking lot. I was unable to enjoy any aspect of my stay as I did not feel comfortable or safe. When I tried to complain I was given a number to “corporate” which is not 24/7. I left a message during the incident and have not heard anything back yet.

We've stayed at other hotels in Crescent City, but now we always choose this hotel. We usually request a quiet room and they accommodate. We've also stayed at the other (Ocean view) hotel, but we much prefer this one with the harbor view due to all their other amenities. Breakfast never disappoints also! Definitely the best hotel for the money!

The people above my room stomped, dropping heavy items and let there kid run back and forth unti 1am. I called front desk 2 times to complain but the people above me still did not keep quite. My 6 year old daughter kept waking up and I didnt get any sleep either. At check out o let the front desk now that it was quite until 1am and got $15 back. I feel like the people above me should have been kicked out or I should have gotten a full refund.

Great hotel right across from the harbor, park and lighthouse. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfy. Loved the to go breakfast set up and being able to pick what to eat rather than getting a mystery bag of food.

the staff especially Patricia were incredible our stay was the best! I would tell everyone to stay here this is the only place we will stay! Great nights rest and a wonderful view of the ocean and marina. The grab and go breakfast was the best I've been to since Covid started. The pool was nice for the kids to play around in. Overall a great experience.

We had a great time on our mini vacay. Our room was clean and staff was very nice. The beds were a little outdated and hard but I've yet to find a hotel bed that was “comfortable”. I left my phone charger in the room and the front desk agents were so helpful. They offer a service to mail your lost things home. At an expense to you of course but I was very grateful. Ricardo at the front desk is the BEST! He helped us, late at night, re-book at a closer location to where we were. We were weary from driving and the staff was super efficient in getting us a room to accommodate our pet with our vehicle right outside our window. Room was clean, beds are comfortable and shower was great.

We were so happy with our brief stay at this inn. Everything was super clean, and we felt safe staying in our room. Save your appetite for the drive through when it comes time for the free breakfast because the juice was warm, the danish and muffin were so tiny and made vending machine food seem like five star. Definitely skip the burritos, which are bean and cheese not breakfast (I think anyway because it was hard to tell). Otherwise we really enjoyed our short stay.

I booked a room due to work in the area. My room was upgraded to an ocean view room. Great room, newly renovated, and clean. Beautiful view of the marina across the street. Staff was very friendly, and a pleasure to work with. I have zero issues with the room, noise, or anything.

Excellent service, staff was amazing, modified breakfast was fantastic!!! Hot, freshly made breakfast burrito, danishes, juice, coffee and tea. Super helpful finding an open restaurant as many were closed on the holiday.

We had went on a couple trip to crescent city California. This is the only hotel in the town that's not a dive hotel. Check in eas fast and friendly. I could see the harbor and the ocean. They had elevators.

Amazing Hotel and service. They young gentleman checking us in was very polite. Tony and Mike at breakfast was so sweet and polite kept their distance but helpful. We were traveling southbound and Tony was very helpful by looking up information on HWY 101 to see if it was open being they had just had a rock slide a few days ago and it had been close. would Highly recommend this location.

Mold in bathroom. Hard as rock old beds. Did have new flooring otherwise there were no positives. Workers without mask. We were locked out of room with the inside security bar that we were supposed to check into.

The. Real fast got significantly better since covid. There are more options compared to just a month ago when it was a pre-bagged lunch. The check in process was very quick and the staff was very friendly and helpful with information. We do wish the pool could have been opened that's one of the main reasons we choose best western. The location of the Best Western can't be beat, and the staff especially Patricia and Larri were absolutely fantastic. There are several eateries close by, however are limited due to the pandemic. The hotel has a grab & go breakfast that is good and has an ample selection. My only advice is to ask to check the room before you officially check-in.

The carpet was so filthy we put the extra towels on the floor to walk on, mold in the shower, huge black spot on the white shower curtain, the shower towels were dirty, we used our extra shirts to dry off with. Huge stain and tears on the chair.

We stayed there 2 days ago. I called the hotel to ask on the cleaning of the rooms during Covid 19. I as assured they we very clean and room sprayed. Room was ok, how every, I noticed in the morning that the coffee amenity packs in our room, had been open and used by the people before us. That tells me, the room is really not detailed. I did ask to speak with the hotel manager when I noticed that and was toll, snot on site. Front desk clerk did not care. There are other places to stay in Crescent City.

Wife and I driving from Cannon Beach, OR to Santa Rosa, CA needed to overnight someplace and picked this one after reading TA reviews. This is right on the highway so no trouble to find. Check in efficient and relatively safe. Was given room on backside of hotel - there are two buildings -- get the rearmost building to avoid noise of highway. Room is what you would expect. Room was quieter on second floor than I expected. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and we actually got some sleep. Went to a local restaurant for dinner. So for the price it delivered. Would I stay here again? I would keep looking overall.

This is a unique property. The location is ideal as it is on the main highway and across the street from the harbor. We had a room on the third floor and it was very nice. Based on photos in the hallways, this older property added the third floor. We had a great view of the harbor and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The large walk-in shower was a bonus.

We have stayed here before. It was never anything great, but had the room type we like. We booked directly a week before and called two hours before our arrival to check on the room (could have stayed somewhere else). We were told everything was fine. When we arrived we were given a smaller, standard room. When we spoke to the manager she told us the hotel was overbooked and there was nothing she could do. When we got to the room there were dirty clothes and garbage in a corner of the room and though the bed was made, it had obviously been slept in and the sheets not changed. Housekeeping was still on the premises, and though they were nice it took over 30-minutes of their being in our room to change the linen. Additionally, during check-in, though staff were wearing masks and there was a sign saying masks were required, they did let another patron in the lobby and assisted them without a mask on while I was also in the room. The manager had said she would comp the room, but the next day the charges where still on the bill and I had to get them to reverse the charges. Finally, I was understandably upset when we checked-in and expressing so in a very emphatic, but polite, manner to the desk staff (never swore, did not say anything mean or personal to her, in-fact said I understood it was out of her control as just a desk staff). However, when I spoke to the manager she treated my like I had been abusing her staff and was also very patronizing. We will not stay here again.

The staff was super friendly. Really convenient location. Some hidden sea lions are close by which you can hear in the morning when traffic is less. 10 minute walk to them. Clean hotel. Reasonable price. Very nice time here. I didn't try the pool due to covid, but it looked nice. If in crescent city again we will stay here again.

Outside looks nice. Check in was ok, but not friendly at all. Room was dated. Bed was not comfortable at all. Pooland hot tub was nice, but flooring around pool was bubbled and peeling up. Had wildfires nearby and they came around in the morning with leaf blower to clear ash, and so it blew around edges of door. You can walk across the street to maina for nice sunset. About 15-20 minutes from Jedediah Smith park. Restaurant onsite that is open on weekends.

Disappointed, I expected a BW Plus to have certain standards. Worn out rooms, for example the bathroom door seemed to be rotting. There no hair dryer in room. The staff was indifferent to guests, seemed preoccupied with speaking with each other rather than paying any attention. They provided a very poor quality breakfast sacks, I have stayed in other hotels in the recent months, and this was by far the worst. I am thinking the owners must be netting a good profit on this.

Upon entrance to our room we were hit in the face with a musty smell, sprayed some Lysol which helped a little bit. We soon found out what the smell was from, the little refrigerator in the room had lost it's seal, causing the freezer to be completely iced over and leaking on the floor because the door would not close. Went to the front desk asking to have the refrigerator removed and replaced, only to be told that wasn't possible, Really!!! So we placed the refrigerator on the patio to thaw out. After further inspection of the room, we see just how filthy it is (would love to attached pictures), since we are in a pandemic situation, out came the Lysol wipes and everything we wiped down came out black with filth. They asked if we wanted to change rooms after we had already placed all our items in the room. Our answer was, what would make us think any other room would be any cleaner than our current room. So, no thank you, we will just deal with the nasty room we are in. They don't offer for housekeeping to come and clean better since we are in a pandemic. Just the worst experience ever at a hotel. We would not recommend this hotel.

Staff was not wearing masks properly indoors while checking guests in. They were also allowing too many people into the lobby at once. Cleaning staff was also seen going into rooms without masks on. Do not stay here if you are concerned about COVID. Location is good since it is near coast.

cleaning was very sub standard. Bathroon floor had not been swept or mopped. Lamp was trashed. Plus the ceiling creaked ALL NIGHT! yes the hotel can not be held responsible for some crack head running a marathon in there room above us but come on...the construction is really bad. Do not stay in room 222. I will discuss this with management. I will report back if they handle it correctly.

Cleaning is not taken seriously here. Our bath tub was still sandy from the previous guest. Our tissue box was wet and had soaked in something, making all the tissues damp. We saw housekeeping and they were not wearing masks while cleaning inside rooms. Cleaning aside, the walls are paper thin — you hear kids down the hall, let alone in the next room. Would not stay here again nor recommend.

Our reservation was messed up and we got a one bed handicapped room instead of a two bed room. The room felt like a dorm room. Not what one would expect in a hotel rated as a plus hotel. The people next door were extremely noisy and were slamming doors no less than 15 times during the middle of the night as well as at one point the whole wall shook hard behind our bed like someone fell into it.

We started here on our way from Ashland to Eureka. We had a suite with full kitchenette which was amazingly clean and very comfortable plus spacious. Extreme covid-19 precautions and staff is wonderful at hospitality. Close to the beach, aquarium, Tesla supercharger and shops. We will surely visit again. Thanks for everything.

We found a manager to be so gracious. We also found the facilities clean and comfortable in every respect. There is much to see and do in the area, and we did it. The sightseeing is terrific, and there are a lot of short hikes. The redwoods in this area are immense and just astonishing to look at it.

Wish our room was cleaner, especially for the price we paid. The floors were disgusting and I had to wipe them myself. The location was very accessible and made it easy to find the beach. The food around the motel was good. We had people being loud in the hallways which made it hard to sleep, but overall it was nice.

Room was clean but the locks to the bedroom and bathroom did not work and only found out when the door was opened. As this was a suite for 8 and I was entertaining, this led to some uncomfortable situations which was avoidable if the staff ensured basics were handled. There was also not enough silverware to fully utilize the kitchen and the silverware that was there looked old and the paint was worn.

The bed was like a slab of concrete with a scratchy sheet thrown over it. The blankets and sheet were both scratchy and stained. When we arrived there was a heavy odor of bleach and cleaners, the room was clean and appealing but the bed was again a huge downfall

I was traveling with my mom and little sister when we decided to book the Harbor room at best western.The room has 2 beds and pull out in couch. The view was lovely to wake up to and the room is very spacious and clean. The standing shower has amazing water pressure with plenty of room to move around and included a seat within showering area. The elevator and wheeled luggage caddy makes it a breeze to get luggage to room in one trip. Only disappointment is after traveling all day we still had to leave property to relax and eat since they have amenities including restaurant closed but fortunately most other restaurants in area are open for sit down dining. Although we did not partake, we were told the laundry area is still available if you need some clothes washed as well. This is a nice homey touch especially for those that might be traveling with small children.

This is a very basic, older motel. Carpet is dingy and the sheets are rough. They do have good bath towels. Definitely get a room in the back building as it's much quieter. The front of the motel has a busy parking lot and is right on hwy. 101. It is not worth the price. I'd look for a newer place and pay a bit more.

Everything as expected, friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room. Recommend a mountain view room if during foggy season as the fog horn from the lighthouse might disturb your sleep, we enjoyed it so not a problem for our harbor view room.

Upon arriving ( with a paid for reservation) we were informed our room had been checked into by someone at the front desk and we could not stay. Had to call Corporate at midnight to resolve. Worst ever

We did have a pet with us and the pet room needed to be cleaned since it was pretty dirty....The beds were comfortable and the bedding seemed reasonable too.. Breakfast was great and the view of the harbor and battery point was spectacular..

This great Best Western has become a reliable regular stop for us over the years and has never let us down, in fact, it keeps getting better. The new upstairs breakfast room was a really nice surprise, and breakfast is EXCELLENT! Scrambie eggs with sausage and hash browns. No question. This is the Place.

when i signed up for the rewards program i was immediately upgraded to a suite looking out to the ocean. While I was working my wife was able to drink her coffee and look out to the ocean every morning, she loved it. Also the breakfast was great and the breakfast crew did a great job and very friendly. Friendly employees, only downfall is that the mattress was hard. Good breakfast options with an amazing view of the harbor as you have your breakfast. Easily access in and out of town. There is also a Quaint little shop just up the road that sells lovely native american indian merchandise.

Writing this as we listen to the loud conversation in the room next door. Very thin walls. Tried using the wifi, does not work. This hotel is almost empty as it is winter, yet they filled rooms all next to each other. Presuming this is to make things easier for the housekeeping staff. Will not stay here again.

Rooms are clean but a little small but fine for 2 people. Not many outlets for electronics. Didn't really hear to much noise from rooms next door but it was January so not extremely busy. The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff was great. Price for the room only made since because of the break. But you could spend less and go out to breakfast at one of the great breakfast places and get a variety. The beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. Check in and out was great. Would stay here again.

No complaints, clean, friendly and felt secure. Kids enjoyed the pool and free buffet breakfast was great. We ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed a salad bar. Room was nice and had everything you need.

Hotel is in need of a bit of TLC. Rooms were clean and staff friendly. Rooms could use an update though. Two queen room I was in was very small and tight. Room had loose electrical sockets. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Drove past it twice since the staff hadn't noticed that the sign wasn't on. Had to go to another building to get ice. Had to go to a separate building to get breakfast (which was average). Room is typical old Best Western with the bathroom sink separate from the tub and toilet, more like a nitch in the wall, with very limited counter space. The window heater unit work me up with noises at 0400 (even though I had turned it off), and I never got back to sleep. So not the best Best Western experience.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Enjoyed using the heated pool and hot tub. Also liked the breakfast. A nice selection things to eat. Good location,very close to the harbor. Close to the highway, but could not hear it at night in the room.

When planning a Redwoods trip for my mom's 70th birthday, we decided to include Crescent City as one of the stops and I'm so glad we did! Our room had a beautiful view that overlooked the marina (however 101 is in between) and a newly renovated bathroom. Our room and bathroom was spacious, clean and I would recommend it to anyone considering a trip through Northern California. The best part was the very helpful staff, including Neal & Ricardo, who coordinated a birthday surprise for my mom. Thanks to the terrific staff at Best Western for making this a trip to remember!

Perfect location! We were able to enjoy the ocean and the Redwood Forest! Such an Amazing and beautiful trip. Our hotel was so nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Next time we are in Crescent City we will stay at The Best Western plus Northwoods Inn!

The room had plenty of plug-ins for charging devices etc. It was roomy and comfortable and had a refrigerator and a microwave. Got a AAA discount and joined the rewards program to earn points and get another discount.

The hotel is nice but the door in are room is heavy it was horrible it had a door spring thing on top of the door it was tight so it was very hard to open the door and when you let go of the door it did not close all the way we complain to the desk at check out he just told us it was wonderful and it helped with people trying too brake in nope also the food for breakfast is horrible too

Took my wife to Crescent City for her birthday, Dec. 23. Robert in the office was great to get us a quiet room in the back, The guys in the breakfast crew, Lloyd, Cheng and Richard worked on Christmas day to give us a great meal. This is our go to place for a get away to the northern coast.

We stayed here on a driving trip down the Oregon and California coast from Seattle to Santa Clara. Our room was clean and spacious, and the reception staff was very nice. The breakfast needs special mention because of the wonderful and tasty variety of foods, and the great breakfast crew: Lloyd, Richard, Natasha, and Cheng. They were all smiles and incredibly helpful. We had a family emergency in northern California, and we chose Best Western as our hotel because they are usually very reliable. The reservation was made via phone directly to the hotel office. We got just the room we needed with a king bed on the first floor with a late arrival. The check-in went very well, as we were given a clear understanding of the kinds of services provided. The pool, spa, and sauna were open late and included a restroom and changing room, plus fresh towels. The small gym was not crowded with equipment, but just enough. The room was clean and welcoming. The bed was firm yet comfortable with an extra blanket in the closet. The decor was pleasant, and the room was quiet! We stayed two nights. There was plenty of parking! Fisherman across the road at the harbor stay there. VERY Friendly staff. The hot breakfast was excellent! Everything was clean! We would definitely stay here again!

Clean. Friendly. Nicest place in town. Was here on business. Only place I stay anymore. Breakfast was very good. Internet was pretty high speed. Easy access. Fitness room was just fine. Nicer than some of the other local spots.

We stayed one night and wished we had time for more. This is just an exceptional hotel...great staff. Over the top cleanliness and wonderful bed. Location is on US Highway 101 and close to the harbor. The breakfast room is just huge...in fact I'd been a bit concerned when I saw a large tour bus in the parking lot. Oh great..you just knew breakfast would be insanely crowded. HOWEVER...nope the room seated probably 100. No lines at the very good buffet. They had prepared porridge..not packets, great coffee and a fresh yoghurt machine, along with the eggs, bacon etc. Love to return one of these days.

Arrived at 2pm, turned away because checking was at 4 and they don't check anyone in before. That's best Western "flexibility". 100 rooms and they all become available at 4pm?! Returned at 4pm to a big line. One guy upset because they give him a room that was already occupied. Another guy wanted an acess able room. He got a 3rd floor room, told they have elevator. Guy says how do I get down in a fire?! This is why I prefer hilton and holiday inn. They at least try to display customer service. I hate best westerns and this jut reinforces that feeling!!!

Our experience at Cresent City BW was great. Staff were freindly, eating options were available and the service and food were exceptional. The upstairs breakfast area was very nice, with a over abundance of food options. Lovely views of the ocean and marina were an added plus.

Great breakfast. Spacious rooms. Kind housekeeping. Helpful front desk attendants. Front of hotel is very deceiving. Good business center. Pool and fitness center. None of this is obvious from street.

Enjoyed the pool and shuffle board. Walls a little thin as we were downstairs and could hear the people upstairs. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was great. Waffles, eggs, and sausage! Indoor pool and hottub, although the jets in hottub barely work.

The rooms were aged, beds not very comfortable and the walls were really thin. It was in an okay location and the staff was nice. Wish I would have asked for one of the newer rooms in the back building. Had to hunt for the ice machine.

Again, Best Western severely disappointed us. The beds at this hotel were horrible. Cheap and uncomfortable. The rooms were tiny, barely any space to walk. The parking was a nightmare! However, breakfast area was pretty and food was hot and tasty and served on real dishes. Price of hotel was way too high! Expected more for the price!

Because I need a service dog they put is in a horrible room, saying that this is their police. I felt I was being punished for having a health problem. Because of this policy and disrespectful attitude on the part of Best Western I will never stay with them again.

Reported issues with Room #263 to Front Clerk; 1) When Heater was turned 'On', Burnt Smell Came Out, so we didn't use. 2) Very loud when people came up steps and walked down hall. Clearly Heard discussions, of neighboring room. 3) Shower pipe very loose, coming from wall (very Wobbly). When we adjusted shower spray, whole shower head turned, and sprayed water over shower curtain onto wall and clothes hook on wall outside of shower. (Shower head not tightened with wrench, or threads possibly stripped.)

Had planned just one night, but we were about ready for some down time on our fast paced Pacific Coast highway vacation and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel so much that we stayed an extra night. Staff was friendly and kind to us, facilities were clean and mostly up to date and the free breakfast was amazing-better than any others on our 8 night road trip!

This property has a pleasant exterior and extremely quite rooms. The staff that I encountered were very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for exploring the harbor and lighthouse on foot and just a short drive to the beautiful Redwood forest.

Our room was on the 3rd floor in the building in the back. Large walk in shower in a large recently renovated bathroom. Our family of 4 had plenty of space in the room. Two queen beds and a sofa allowed us to spread out. The room had a view of the harbor, was quiet and very clean. Nice decor in room and interior hallways. Breakfast and laundry were in separate buildings. Breakfast had many items to choose from. We walked to dinner and had several restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend this updated room.

What can I say. The staff was so nice and fun, the entire property was sparkling clean, the food at the restaurant was very good. Overall a terrific experience. Wish i could find all hotels so fabulous!

Easy to find, the highway goes through town and the hotel is located across from the marina. Breakfast room is 2nd story and has amazing views of marina and beyond. Breakfast was a variety of food. Staff were great and had recommendations for eating and redwood routes. Room was decent and quiet

Nice hotel in a convenient location. Very friendly staff and nice facility. Nice indoor pool-spa-sauna. On the main street so a little noisy, but the back building is nice and quiet. Good parking and nice and clean.

The best part of the stay at Northwoods was the caring staff at the front desk. They explained all the amenities and offered dinner suggestions. Our room was clean and had plenty of room. The grounds were well kept. Breakfast was served at the second floor of the adjacent restaurant. One large room, think school cafeteria, normal selection and quality of food you would expect at a Best Western.

we checked into the hotel and once we got back to our room after dinner we realized we were accommodated in a room that shared a wall with the hotel's engine room. it was super noisy. it took another hour of arguing (very rude staff and management) before we were moved to another room. no apologies what so ever. if you're staying there, stay away from room 117. also, breakfast is very limited and the hours are very rigid - 7-9.

The Best Western Northwoods was a good choice for Crescent City. It's on the south end of town, near several good choices of restaurants. The traffic pattern, getting in and out and around the parking area, is a bit confusing, but we figured it out. The hotel is across the street from the marina and you can take walks up to the water's edge a few blocks away. Breakfast was good, but the set up didn't make a whole lot of sense to us. When you walk in and get on line, the fruit and waffle maker are right there. It causes a bit of confusion. The toaster and coffee/hot water displays are at the end, but overlap also causing some congestion. The food was good but standard BW fare. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Check in and check out was easy and the front desk people were friendly. My husband liked the hot tub and said the pool was bigger than he expected. The exercise room was tiny and did not offer much.

We had a room with a roll in shower. It had one of the best showers I have had in any motel anywhere. It was roomy with two shower heads and glass doors that kept the water from running all over the room. It also appeared that the motel had been recently refurbished, as it was beautiful inside. With an amazing view too! The only reason I marked it a 4 instead of 5 was because when we got there the elevator was not functioning and it took some time for it to be fixed. The manager took care of it immediately and we had no more trouble with it.

I loved it. Pillows were so confy. People are awesome. Parking is safe. Water in the pool was perfect. Good location. Breakfast was yummy! Internet was very good. Coffee and cookies in the lobby were amazing.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus. We were passing through on our way op the coast, and appreciated the comfortable bed, newly remodeled room, and nice hot breakfast. We faced the back parking lot, and it was very quiet in our room. I would gladly stay again, if I find myself in Crescent City, or need a jumping-off place for exploring Redwoods National and State Parks.

Our upstairs room had a nice view of the harbor. The front desk was efficient and friendly. Easy check in! The room was really large and very clean. The included breakfast buffet which is in an adjoining building was excellent with lots of fresh, tasty choices. The staff in were constantly cleaning up and prepping tables and restocking the buffet items! Although it was on the Hwy and not on the oceanfront it was a good choice!

Massive 2 shower head shower with drop down seat . You can shower with a lover. Biggest shower in a handicapped room. View of the bay. Spacious elevator! Bed is very good. Very clean. Ice machine very productive.

Queen beds are in good condition. Clean room and friendly staff. Brittany at the front desk was very very helpful as well. House keeping service very friendly and attentative. Went over to the quality the next week and it is no good. Bed is shot out and my back is not killing me in the morning. Going to inquire about another mattress.

I guess the name makes it sound like it is nestled in the woods. It is actually in the city and across a marina. Our room was on the second floor in the back of the motel. The room was 302 (but on the second and top floor). When we checked in at 3:45 we were initially told our room was not ready and would not be for another hour at least. The front desk kid said our room was third in line to be cleaned. Even though we were tired, and wanting to get to our room, we said that was fine and we'd go get something to eat. Thankfully, a manager over heard the conversation and had the room next in line. Once in the room, we found it be very clean. Nothing was out of place. The shower was ample with hot water and a nice shower head. The room was quiet and the air conditioner adequate. The next morning we went to the breakfast. A person or family needs a breakfast card to enter the dining room which is the hotel restaurant in the evening. The breakfast area is very clean with attendants bussing your table and the plates. There is plenty of food and variety. However the bacon, eggs, biscuits/gravy was tepid at best. My husband had to microwave his food on both days. I stuck with Red Mill oatmeal in a cup that needed hot water. One thing to do is you cannot take any dinnerware or food out of the dining room. If you don't eat it, you must throw away. The employees are pretty watchful so sneaking would be difficult at best. The dining room is not attached to any rooms. Since our room was 302, we had to walk approx. 100 yards outside to the dining room door The hotel is in a nice walking distance of restaurants, a jetty and marina. Parking more than ample. There is a pool, but we didn't partake.

The room was so cozy! Beds were so comfy!! Pillows amazing!! It was so great we decided to stay again!!! The breakfast was amazing! The staff was so nice! Brittany checked us in the second time!!! Three stars is probably generous; I'd say it's more like 2.5 but I'll "round up". I'm not sure I agree with the "Plus" designation of this property (as in "Best Western PLUS"). But if you are touring up or down the coast, and staying in Crescent City fits your itinerary, it's acceptable for a one night stay. I wouldn't want to hang out at this place for more than a one-night stay. Best Western seems to have up-leveled themselves over the course of the past several years, with some really splendid properties in the chain, but this property is more consistent with the "old Best Western" and the image I have of the BW brand as a lower end hotel/motel brand. A few observations: 1. We arrived at about 5 PM. Some other guests were told their rooms were not yet ready, and likely would not be for at least another hour. We were originally told the same thing, but then they checked again and apparently they had just then finished cleaning it so it was available. It seems to me that a guest should reasonably expect to have a hotel room ready for check-in at that hour. I regret that some of these other guests took out their frustrations on the front desk clerks when the object of their anger would more properly be hotel management, which evidently failed to staff appropriately or have contingency plans in place if housekeeping staff called in sick. 2. The carpeting in the hallways and stairways seemed a little ratty and in need of replacement; in general the entire property seemed "tired" and "dated". 3. They have a complimentary breakfast which was not bad as such things go, but I did not like that they issue "tickets" for it. And, furthermore, they prohibit "take out" from the breakfast area. My girlfriend prefers to lounge around room in the morning so at most hotels, I eat in the breakfast area, then grab a couple of things to bring back to the room for her. This whole thing with the tickets and the prohibition of takeout food really rubbed me the wrong way. It seems low class and downscale; it's one step away from posting signs warning guests not to steal the TV. 4. Since I like to say something positive, I will say that the bedding and linens and such were clean, the room was quiet, the bed comfortable, the WiFi was good, the location is convenient. 5. They have an indoor pool and a modest fitness center, but I did not use either. I went jogging instead.

Excellent Hotel, restaurant was a disappointment, otherwise we had nice time staying here. Good location for exploring the area, Redwoods National Park and state parks within easy driving distance. Also Casinos.

The room we had was excellent, like staying at a more expensive hotel. The staff was great and we loved having the elevator. We would recommend this Best Western to our friends and family. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Nice hotel. Right across the street from the harbor, easy to walk to and stroll among boats. Breakfast was very good and lots of choices. The pool was a bit murky. Great location that was close to the redwood forest. Very nice locals, and staff was able to let us check in early since we arrived sooner than anticipated. A good visit.

Have stayed at this location many times while in town for business and while on vacation. It has always been a great place to stay. It is within walking distance of a market and several restraunts and the beach! Will definately stay here again.

My hotel experience was nice overall. The breakfast that was provided was very good and the staff members were wonderful. We had a very nice stay at this hotel in the Redwoods area. The breakfast was very tasty and had a lot of choices. The crew of Lloyd, Richard, Cheng, and Natasha kept the food well stocked and attractive.

Nice, large room with a kitchenette. Friendly staff and free coffee. Convenient location, close to a great restaurant. I'd love softer towels and more of them, but everything was clean and additional towels and pillows were brought upon request.

The Best Western Plus Northwoods Inn is on US-101 on the south side of Crescent City. I have stayed here before, so I was a bit surprised at what I found this time. When I checked in, I was at first given a room on the first floor, even though I had requested an upstairs room. When I told the desk clerk, she was able to change it to an upstairs room, but in the process of telling me about the hotel, another clerk, talking to another customer, was talking so loud that I couldn't hear what the desk clerk was saying. When I went into the room, the first thing I found was a still-wet cleaning rag on one of the chairs. The clock in the room was about 1-½ hours slow. Otherwise, the room was fine and very clean, with all the usual amenities. About 7:30, I went to the adjacent restaurant (same owner) and was told that they were only seating guests with reservations, and they would not be able to seat me until 9:30pm. This was on a Sunday night. The bar downstairs was empty, but I was told they were not allowed to serve food there. I ended up going to another restaurant for dinner. If capacity is a problem in the restaurant, I would expect the desk clerk to warn me about this so I could make a reservation. Breakfast in the morning was in the same space as the restaurant. There was plenty of room, but the scrambled eggs were cold. In an email a couple of days after my stay, the manager apologized for the problems I encountered, but did not offer any compensation.

My family and I picked this hotel because we trust the Best Western brand. Of course they delivered. They offer a wonderful breakfast everyone in the family enjoyed. Also they have a pool and fitness center. Located across from the harbor. You didn't have to drive very far to enjoy the redwoods or the ocean. My only complaint is that the beds were super hard. I had a hard time sleeping. Other than that we had a wonderful time.

The Breakfast room is located upstairs in a separate building. There are quite a few steps leading to the breakfast room; an elevator is available, but somewhat hidden. The breakfast room is quite large, surrounded by large windows with a beautiful view. Sunday, July 7, 2019, the breakfast staff was short one person and it was very noticeable and inconvenienced the guests. The three workers, Lloyd, Cheng and Richard nearly ran and worked as fast as they were able to keep the food supply filled and clean dishes available. But, they did run out of some fruit, waffle batter and clean dishes, causing a long line of guests waiting for the refills. Lloyd, Cheng and Richard should be commended for doing their very best under these circumstances. Management should have called in another employee, since the hotel was fully booked. This is not a reflection on this hotel, but as we traveled through the area from Washington to Northern California, every single hotel offering free breakfast had the same choices, which gets very tiring. The choices are nearly the same every day too. I recommend that Hotels offering free breakfast vary their breakfast choices. The room was comfortable.

The location to the Redwoods is great and the hotel staff was very nice and helpful, BUT this is not a $200 a night hotel. The rooms were quite dated and dark and the interior hallways were really old as well. The rooms were clean, and the best part of this hotel was the free breakfast. The quality and selection was the best I've seen at a Best Western. The young man that ran the breakfast was super friendly and nice. If you want to stay close to the Redwoods, you're stuck paying for location vs quality.

We would like to thank and commend our breakfast crew, Lloyd, Cheng, Richard, and William, for the warm smiles and helpfulness on the morning of our free breakfast! The dining room was spotless and the food hot and ready and they were so attentive to our needs and to the needs of others! Really friendly guys!! A great way to be greeted in the early morning:) And the view was beautiful too!

Got in around 7:30p, went to go get dinner about 10 min after we got settled in because we noticed the restaurant closed at 9p. It was confusing because there was an upstairs and a downstairs so we weren't sure where to go. We went upstairs and the sign said reservations only, which seems very weird for a restaurant attached to a hotel and they said it would be about a 45 min wait. We went downstairs to the bar where we were told they don't serve food at all, but there were condiments and napkins on the table as well as a flyer saying “try our desserts!” The bar was stuffy and was dark and uninviting but we stayed to have a drink and wait to be called for our “reservation.” My husband got a local beer and I got a captain and coke. The coke was watered down and pretty flat and the drink tasted like it was mixed 50/50 - which would be fine if I was an alcoholic and didn't want to actually enjoy my drink. Definitely would not go again.

This property is not up to quality of Best Western+ and compares to an average low-price highway motel. The room/bathroom were old and in need of repair/remodel/replacement. The location in proximity to the Redwoods,beach etc, is exceptional.

Area was clean and maintained. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the WiFi worked well on my computer. The free breakfast was good and the staff were nice. I would stay again if I was in the area for work.

This was a short stop on the way from Oregon to the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Convenient location. The room met our needs as it was a quiet, clean and safe. Breakfast was in a separate building and worth figuring out. Big shout out to the Breakfast Crew of Lloyd, Cheng, William and Richard. Food items were well cooked and stocked. Service was pleasant and quick.

Staff is great! Hotel rooms are okay. Wind howled through the door making loud noise all night. You can hear every little noise from rooms next door, including conversations. High speed internet does not work. Worse than dial up. Pool was disgusting. Cloudy, dirty and smelled foul. Hot tub was even worse. Brown water. Gross.

Our experience started out great. The check-in process was very smooth. I have a sweet tooth, so I enjoyed a cookie while I waited for the one couple ahead of us to check in. Staff was courteous and helpful and they recommended a local PUb to relax and have beverages. They highly recommend Port o Pints in Crescent City. It's a mom and pop microbrew. Support local business and enjoy some delicious beers. Back to the hotel stay. Our room was nice and comfortable. It ad all the amenities that you would need. The pool was warm and the hot tub was perfectly regulated to enjoy a nice relaxing soak. The water was treated in such a way that it did mot dry out your skin. The restaurant and bar directly adjacent to the hotel had karaoke going on. If you're a fan of hip-hop and all the compliments that go with that you will enjoy this karaoke bar. If you're not a fan of hip-hop or not in your twenties it is best to go somewhere else. However, the bar staff were nice. The next morning we woke up and walked to the restaurant for the complimentary buffet. We were greeted by Richard and Natasha with a warm smiles and directions how to proceed. Chang and William were prepared great food for us to enjoy. They have a great breakfast crew going. There were many smiling faces as people happily enjoyed real eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravy a variety of fresh fruit, and enough drink options to make everyone happy. If we find ourselves coming up this way again, we will definitely stay here.

One of the best things was the breakfast buffet. Lloyd, Richard, and Cheng were super helpful and even told us to leave our dishes and they would take care of them! The walk to the beach was so close and provided a great spot for watching the spectacular sunset. We are from the East coast so this was a first!

I'm not sure what makes a place a BW Plus, but I saw nothing "plus" about this place. First, it had no desk on which to set up a laptop. It had no extra power outlets by the bed in which to plug in my phone and CPAP. I had to pull the central nightstand out to find an outlet and then unplug both the lamp and the alarm clock just to plug my stuff in. The view was nice though, and the room was clean. Breakfast was good, too.

This place is great, heated indoor pool, hot tub and the BEST breakfast! Beautiful view and amazing service from the attentive breakfast crew! Cheng , William, Richard and Natasha are excellent at customer service, very friendly and constantly keeping things clean and filled up. We will come again.

Lloyd,cheng,Natasha and Richard keep me and my crew fed and happy. They are always cheerful and helpful. Beware of making any reservations at the front desk. We've had our reservations messed up twice there. Most of their front desk employees are amazing, but there are a couple who have no idea what they are doing and will push you through as fast as they can.

The front desk staff are courteous and kind and the G.M. demonstrates that she cares and attempts to go beyond for her customers! I generally stay on the third floor and the housekeepers really attempt to do a good job, especially Esmeralda, a housekeeper that takes pride in her job! Thank you for attempting to keep your customers #1 in priority!

rooms are nice, clean and comfortable, our room was located near vending, ice machine staff room and stairwell so at times i could hear loud bang sounds but other then that we have stayed a few times here and good experience each time. also very convenient location

We stayed in a harbor view room, and the view was absolutely beautiful! From the restaurant and breakfast area you can enjoy the same view. The room was clean and nice, the laundry facility was clean, and the pool was as well. The quality and variety of the breakfast was excellent. All staff members were friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

This was a great property to stop at on our way up the Coast. The staff was friendly and provided excellent Customer Service. The view from the room was great and the breakfast was fantastic !!! I would definitely stay here again and advise others to do so.

Driving from Portland to Monterey, CA this hotel's location was the half way point. It was nice and clean and included a full (not continental). breakfast. I would stay here again if making that same drive.

This hotel looked the smarter from the outside.Riom was clean and bed comfortable. Spacious interior. Bathroom good size. Microwave, coffee maker and fridge was handy. Manager and staff were welcoming. Breakfast included at nearby restaurant okay.

This was a wonderfully spacious suit. They have three buildings. Two are hotel rooms and one with the pool and hot tub/office. It was 45 degrees when we were there so we did not take advantage of walking outside in our swimming suits to get to the pool/hot tub. The room was awesome and quiet. We could see the ocean but not a complete view. Breakfast was very good but it is located on the top floor of a restaurant in the parking lot. Great view of the ocean during breakfast.

Stayed here on a quick overnight trip to take kids to Redwoods. The room was very clean and the breakfast is fantastic. Included in the room rate and had anything you could want! The kids loved the pool. They got it to themselves so they were happy.

Our double queen room had faulty electrics, no waste paper basket and worst of all smelt of stale vomit. Everything felt slightly dirty and unkempt. The in-house coffee was the worst and weakest I've ever had.

There was a problem with our reservation at check in which was quickly rectified by the manager. Thank you for giving with two rooms. Rooms are a nice size but beds are a bit too hard. Breakfast is very good and the staff are welcoming

Best free breakfast ever! Everything was fresh and there was a great variety. First place to offer biscuits and gravy, and it was delicious! Awesome breakfast crew made it all possible: Cheng, Richard and Jen keep up the good work!!

Nice clean room, great breakfast and good restaurant -- relaxing pool, hot tub and sauna, close to town, beach, marina and Redwood National park -- good value, be sure to book reservations in advance.

Check in was simple an quick. The grounds can be a little confusing when they describe where the room is. It would've been awesome if they had a map. The room was simple and clean, there were some hairs in the bathroom the weren't ours but only two or three. Tub was huge and so was the mini fridge. The grounds were simple, could maybe benefit by putting in a playground for kids or something like that. Had enough open space to fly a kite safely. The breakfast was kind of lacking. The waffles were great and tasty and the selection was good but items like the eggs were extremely dry and the bacon was cut so thinly you could see through it. Plus the hours were kind of short. They were open from 6 to 9. I'm sorry, when normal people go on vacation they dont get up at 6 to have breakfast. It would've been nice of it was open until at least 9:30. Lastly, the bed a alot firmer then most Best Westerns which made for a difficult nights sleep. All of my issues were down to taste and nothing the hotel did specifically.

I think this was one of the best hotels in the Best Western chain for the handicapped accessible rooms. We had room 336 which was huge and had a view of the marina. The king bed was the right height and not too tall. The bath room and shower was great!! The shower was huge and would accomodate more than one person! The check in was seamless and they were very nice and helpful. We will be back!!

The staff at checkin and ease of booking on line give this review a 3. This location may be relying on brand loyalty. Dated rooms and though appeared clean, I was disappointed in the stained towels. I'm too tired from the constant roar of the ac unit as it tried to keep our room comfortable. Location would be better priced in mid 80's and not mid 100's. There are local inns and hotels I would look into if we ever have a chance to stay in Crescent City.

We've never honed in on one hotel chain. Once retired, we now travel quite a bit more and have found along the way some pretty poor hotel chains. We found the quality of Best Western Plus especially nice without having to pay a ton of money per night. We are very happy with the quality we find at all of the Best Western Plus hotels and are never disappointed.

Breakfast could use alittle more help. Like making food hotter my eggs went cold after a few mins. And also the oatmeal was hard. The guy working was saying he was sorry but did not offer to fix the oatmeal

My parent's and I stopped at the Best Western while on a road trip. It was getting dark, and it was one of the only options for us. We all woke up thinking we were 90 years old because the beds about broke our backs. On a positive note, the restaurant attached to the hotel is pretty good. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and very helpful. It's just a rough hotel.

We have stayed here on many visits to see family in Crescent City; the rooms are always clean and the front desk staff are very helpful. This recent trip, though, we were most impressed Lloyd and Richard who are part of the breakfast crew. They are friendly, hard working and most eager to please. This is definitely one of the best places to stay in Crescent City and I know we will stay again.

I was moving to Portland over the 27th and 28th of March. I stayed at the Best Western on the night of the 27th after a grueling day of packing and having to drive 5 hours from Lake County CA. I was weary, tired and in need of rest before my next step of the trip on the 28th. The staff was very helpful on the morning of the 28th when I had to get new tires for my car due to a minor incident where I damaged a front tire and had to have it replaced. A big thank you to the staff of the Best western for all your help. I was also very happy with the breakfast crew. They helped me out and provided service above and beyond due to my disabiliity and special requests. A big thank you to Heidi, Jenn and Chang.

This is just an ok hotel. The bed was harder than we are used to. The rooms were smaller than other BWs we have stayed in. We were 8:30 getting to the breakfast room and there was not a very good selection left.

The staff was kind, professional, and knowledgeable of the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best free continental breakfast I've had at a hotel. I would be happy to stay here again. Our experience was good that my wife insisted on staying at another Best Western Plus when scheduling our next trip. I can't overstate how good our experience was at this hotel. It isn't an all encompassing entertainment experience but for what it is, I'm glad we stayed here.

I stayed at the best western in crescent city for work recently. The breakfast buffet and staff are wonderful. Heidi, Jenn and Chang were attentive and cleaned up quickly. My room was located next to the stairs and it was very noisy. I could hear people walking up and down the stairs all night long. My room also had a jacuzzi tub however one of the jets were broken and water sprayed everywhere in my bathroom. I would recommend this hotel again as long as it was away from the stairs!

We spent a week in this town while working at the Coast Guard Station. It is obvious that there is some other attraction to warrant at least 20 Hotel/Motels in this town of 8,800. Most of the locals we encountered on the streets or in stores were obviously Tweakers (Meth)or Nodders (Heroin). So, of course, if you look one in the eye or say hello you are immediately asked for a couple bucks. I was even hit up by one while playing in the little casino! The hotel itself is okay, if not overpriced for the quality and size of the rooms. Conveniently located with a couple places to eat within walking distance. If you choose to stay at this hotel, DO NOT PARK IN THE REAR PARKING lot. My truck with trailer was parked along the south wall so as to not block the prime parking spots. The very first morning I came out to find the rear passenger window smashed and most of the contents gone. The missing tools of our trade came to almost $7,000! I do not blame the hotel for this incident but I do have a HUGE problem with their response. The police officer and I went to the desk and asked to see the footage from the security cameras. The clerk said that only the manager can review the film. I had to actually ask him to call the manager which he did. The reply we received was he'll come in in a little bit. Finished the report, the officer left and had breakfast. An hour later I went to the desk to find out what was seen...manager had not come in yet. I asked him to be called again. This answer was, "He might stop by later". This is at 0800-0900 on a Tuesday morning! I don't know what the criteria is for the different levels of Best Western brand names but after staying at 15-25 different properties for more than 75 nights each year I can promise that I do not find this to be a "Plus".

The breakfast crew were ON POINT, as well as the food! Heidi, Richard, and Lloyd were great! I wasn't expecting much from the sausage gravy but it was actually quite flavorful!! The rooms were only moderate, though. We were expecting queen sized beds but they were double...they are not synonymous with each other! The pillows didn't go flat as we expected, which means we actually could've left our pillows at home. One addition I'd make to the room is having some shelf space near the outlets for phones and other devices that need charged. I'd also add small nightstands to the far ends of the beds as there is only one table between the two beds. Everything else so far has been great. Over all there's only a couple of small inconveniences, but the great breakfast makes up for those. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If they don't know the answer to something they will go find out for you. Our breakfast gal even checked the weather for us!

I would say that I fairly standard experience at this budget hotel. The good: -The people working behind the counter were really pleasant during both the check in and check out times. -Room was clean for the most part. -Bed was comfortable -Plenty of Parking The mediocre: -Room was a bit musty and had the smell of bleach -Furniture and carpeting was aged -Internet was a bit slow -Room wasn't exactly noise proof Verdict: I probably won't be going out of my way to relive the experience but I wouldn't not go here again if I had to.

Had a wonderful weekend, favorite was the breakfast hosts service! Jenn, Chang, and ken I believe, they were very helpful and the food was great too! Rooms were nice and clean! Everyone was friendly and welcoming!

Hotel location is in the harbor area with many restaurants to choose from. They have a restaurant/bar on the property that provides a 5% discount on your bill. Food was very good. The staff was very helpful. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Don't bother with the restaurant on grounds, you will stand behind a wall waiting to be seen by staff that are waiting tables and the wait is always at least a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to eat. I've been there 3 times and have yet to have the patience to eat. Across the street on the pier you will be very satisfied.

Great place to stay, rooms are clean spacious and well maintained. Dinner was great at the restaurant. Heidi, Jen, and Chang served an outstanding breakfast, with so many different food options. I stay here often and it never dissapoints, highly recommend the Northwoods Inn.

I've been staying here every year when I come up to fish for Steelhead on the Smith River. Well furnished rooms with flat screen TV's Breakfast items was varied to satisfy varied tastes. Coffee provided was excellent.

Pretty average hotel stay. Clean room, big bed, room equipped with mini fridge and microwave and coffee maker. TV with cable. I also noticed a room off the lobby with a drink and snack vending machine as well as some laundry which I believe guests can use. Also noticed a small indoor pool and possibly jacuzzi. My only complaint really is the noise. I stayed on the bottom floor and could hear all of the movement of my upstairs neighbor. Could hear all of the apparent shouting of the people outside - not the hotel's fault that they were shouting but you're not exactly protected from the noise. It wasn't unbearable and typically I'm not bothered too much by this. Overall good value for the stay, about what you would expect.

We stayed here and our room was big, very clean and we overlooked the Marina! Great Restaurant connected to Hotel. Gianni our hotel clerk was very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again! All staff member were very nice and it is reasonably priced! Great breakfast included!

Stopped over for one night here, pleasent enough,but could do with a little TLC. Room tidy but had odd smell to it?? Bathroom quite small, but functional. We had an upgrade, so not sure how small the other rooms would be, not that quiet, but for one night ok.

This is a fairly nice motel to stay at. Nothing fancy but a clean comfortable place to spend the night. The property is very large with several buildings. I stayed in the rear building so it was very quite. There is a restaurant on site but I chose to eat next door within waling distance. Right on Hwy 101, easy to find but the only view is the marina and not the beach. Good value.

Walking distance from the Marina. Good continental breakfast with view of the bay from the second floor, on site lounge. Restaurants walking distance. Clean rooms, pool and hot tub and sauna, great workout area. Friendly staff.

This Best Western was a nice layover for our business trip up north. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small and had the basic amenities needed for an overnight stay. Location is great since it's right off the highway and near plenty of food and gas options. There was a club area but we never ventured over there. The restaurant that is on the property was surprisingly good. The free breakfast was also good.

The hotel is in a great and convenient location. Is it across the street from the Ocean and the marina so a wonderful view. The price was fair and convenient parking. Pleasant and helpful staff. Now the negatives - breakfast upstairs in separate building from room - not convenient for kids, however the view from there is great. The rooms have the bathroom sink in the room and adjacent to the bathroom ... this was terrible for getting up in the morning and getting ready without waking everyone else. Breakfast was good but not great - the usual cereal, make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon - all okay but again, nothing really stood out. Yogurt was in a machine and not working, we had to wait for plates as they had run out and were washing some up. I could have overcome the breakfast but the sink in the room killed it for us with kids. If this doesn't bother you, then check it out.

I was impressed. I had a good time and enjoyed my stay and can not wait to go back. Ask for the third floor room with a view. Do not worry about road noise or the harbor; once in the room I did not hear anything from the outside.

We stayed at three Best Westerns in a row on our trip around OR/CA and this one was the last stay and needed the most work. The room was clean but nothing special, the doors opened to the outside and there parking lot was pretty tight. The biggest suggestion for improvement would be the breakfast. They were still setting up 30 minutes into when breakfast opened. The signage was also confusing since they hosted breakfast in a restaurant space (ie sign says "please wait to be seated" but the sign is for dinner service only. It seemed as though breakfast was understaffed and that they could use at least 1-2 more employees to get them back on track for morning rush. They do have a pool but we did not have time to use it. The hotel is located right on 101, very convenient to anything in Crescent City. We would stay here again.

We didn't plan on staying in Crescent City and only had a few hours to book a hotel as we were heading down south from Oregon to California. It worked out overall. The room felt a bit musty but it could have been because it rained outside plus the location is right in the harbor. I'd say I am giving this hotel a higher rating because of the breakfast. It was in the adjacent restaurant with great views of the bay. I don't know how they would have housed this many people inside a hotel lobby for breakfast. Again, overall it worked out.

The outside of the Best Western was very nice. Parking lot was clean. Nice water feature in the middle of the parking area between hotel and restaurant. The lobby was very nice and updated. I was disappointed in the room. It was smaller than other rooms that I've reserved at other Best Westerns. The bed was uncomfortably soft for my taste. The restaurant had a variety of items on the menu. Moderately priced.

Found this hotel to be basic but okay. We were using it as a steppingstone on our trip on route 1 up the west coast and it fulfilled that function. It had a very handy laundry area which was great for our trip.

Clean, neat, mini refrigerator, microwave, a/c. Indoor heated pool (I did not use), restaurant and bar on site. Free WiFi. Very friendly staff at front desk and also housekeeping personnel were more than willing to accommodate special requests.

The room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great. I liked that they had options for vegans at breakfast, as not many people do. The only thing that bothered me during my stay was that the fog horn went off every 6 seconds the whole time we were there, but that isn't the hotels fault. lol.

Convenient stopover along the coast and next to the redwoods. Great beds and wonderful pillows. Nice shower. Very clean. Breakfast area is on second floor with awesome view of the harbor. Full breakfast offering.

Room: 1 king bed on the ground floor A four night stay on a trip to visit the Redwoods. The Inn is located on Highway 101 and across from the marina. You can hear the sounds of cars driving by from your room. The rooms face out to the parking and you can hear people walking by and the sound of cars in the parking lot. Keep your curtains closed if you want privacy. The room offered a desk with a chair, two nightstands, an easy chair with an ottoman in the corner by the bed, floor lamp, microwave, a mini fridge, a dresser and entertainment center with a flat screen TV. The bathroom was a little small and the sink was not in that room, but just outside the door. A good sized room that appeared to have a new carpet and furniture. The third floor features rooms that face an interior hallway and are hotel rooms more then the lower level motel rooms. The Inn offers some nice features like a swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, ice machines, laundry room and vending machines. A separate building offers a restaurant and bar. You can hear people at night talking and making noise in the front of the building. Breakfast was offered on the top floor of the building, which has views of the marina and the Inn. Items included were hot and cold items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, make your own waffles, oatmeal, fruit, bagels, etc. You can hear the sound of water running from the other rooms and the flushing of toilets at night. A few restaurants are within walking distance of the Inn if you do not want to drive. The B. W. Northwoods Inn offers a good value if you do not mind the sound of cars at night, or the noise from the restaurant.

This Best Western is right on HWY 101. The breakfast was excellent in the morning but the room was not at all clean. It had a small vanity and the lighting was poor. The beds are super hard providing a nice backache in the morning. The sink faucet as loose and could be pulled up from the sink. We smelled exhaust from cars parked outside the rooms. The shower was OK. My white socks turned black from the carpets.

We stayed here for two nights (8/18-8/20/18 room 229) while visiting the Redwoods National forest. It was a good location for that and was very close to the beach. The exterior was OK, it needed some upkeep, our room was much better than the exterior indicated it would be. The room was good sized, clean and quiet. The bath was small but functional. There is a sink outside the bathroom. The audio on our TV stopped working the first night, the next morning we found out that is a common event and fixed by unplugging the cable box for a few seconds. There is plenty of parking but the parking lot is laid out in a confusing manner, watch out for the one way sections. Housekeeping did a excellant job . The breakfast (served on the second floor (there is an elevator) of restuarant in front of the hotel was the worst we have ever had at a BW. The first day they ran out of food (ex.yogurt, peanut butter),and silverware, the tables were not cleared quickly and the coffee was full of floating grinds. The second day the tables were cleared quicker but they still had issues running out of food and with the coffee. We thought it was more of a basic BW than the typical BW plus. Not sure we'd stay here again.

Front desk service was disappointing. The front desk guy issued me a room already occupied. Upon returning to the desk, he was perturbed with me about his mistake. No apologies. Room was trash. Broken curtain, chipped up table, door jam split, musty odor. I stayed at 3 other Best Westerns on my vacation. Nothing bad to say about any of the others, but this one. Rating should be a 1, but people tend to think 1's are customer's over-reactions. I'm not overreacting. I won't be returning. By far the most expensive room on my trip, and by far the worst room. Corporate would only issue a partial-refund. Super disappointed about that too.

The front desk attendant his name is Robert was excellent and very professional and helpful. He was there at our last stay, he was very nice then. We would recommend a promotion as he is an asset to your company, Thank you again

This hotel was ok but I probably would not recommend it. The room size was ok but the bathroom was very small, with a small countertop and sink located outside the bathroom. It felt very cramped, plus the bathroom faucet was not attached securely to the countertop. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast. It is located in the restaurant area which is a spacious room and there were many options. The location is very convenient, right on Hwy 101, but our room was in the back and it was quiet.

The receptionist was friendly and efficient on arrival. The room was large and clean with a view over the harbour. There is a choice of restaurants within a 10 minute walk in the harbour area. Breakfast was good with a large choice of cold and hot items.

I came here because of the offer of breakfast and the pool, because we were going to visit the Redwoods. It was a good hotel, Nice pool. Great Breakfast... We enjoyed staying there, and the price was good as well.

The hotel is perfect distance from the beach! The breakfast was awesome and the restuarant on the property was family-oriented with tvs and a pool table. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We will stay here again!

We traveled buy car from Southern Oregon, Medford to get out of the smoke to go camping the day prior to staying at the Best Western at a beautiful campsite with tall trees in the Redwoods. Then we arrived at your hotel for a two- night stay. We went to see the black sand beach, went to see the Avenue of Giants, it was great! We ate at a very good restaurant nearby the hotel, and got a nice ride in the limo which my four-year-old daughter really loved! Chris the manager there does an exceptional job and I'm glad that I got a chance to talk with him. Thanks again. Dan

We had the family room with about 700 sq ft of space. Huge TV. Two queen beds plus sofa bed. Very comfortable stay. Decor a bit dated but the extra space makes up for it. The only down side was the musty odor on arrival. It went away after AC got turned on for a while. Plenty of parking around building structure so getting in and out or forgetting things in vehicle is just a short walk from room. Friendly staff makes you feel welcomed. Free breakfast is on second floor of onsite restaurant which provides panoramic view of Crescent City Harbor. This location provides easy access to popular hiking trails in the redwoods. It's a 15 minute drive to Damnation Creek Trail head. 20 minutes to Howland Hill Rd. 5 minutes to Battery Point Lighthouse parting lot. During low tide, you can walk to the lighthouse, just observe the tide schedule so you won't get stuck. You can also see seals at the harbor which is a 2 minute drive away.

We stayed just one night on a spur of the moment trip. The hotel is centrally located. Close to the Marina, beaches and town and attractions. The room itself was clean as was the property. It seems to be a little dated but nothing bad. Blake was pleasant enough at check in and gave us good directions and information about the hit breakfast that was included. (we didn't eat it because we slept too late and missed it. It ends at like 9:30am) The thin walls are something to be aware of.. Out neighbors had several children and were very loud. You can hear everyone walking down the hallways, voices carry and doors slam very hard. When standing in the room you can see the hallway through the framing of the door (perhaps some good weather stripping would help). The towels are sort of dingy but I think again it just goes with the hotel being a little old. They were clean just need to be replaced in my opinion.

This place is really nice, 3rd floor room with a harbor view, bed was a bit firm but ok, breakfast was fantastic with lots of options. The restaurant/bar onsite was a plus. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything was pretty average and what I expect except for a couple of things. The Beds and the carpet are way old, there's too noisy on the corridors and also the breakfast time is way to early. At least it should be until 10am!

We arrived after 6 pm to find that our rooms were still not ready. The General Manager offered us the option to put our luggage in the room, when I gave her a concerned look, she assured me that nothing would be rushed and the high level of quality would be met. Now, they were at 100% capacity, as well as being short staffed, but as I pointed out to the General Manager, finding a potato chip on the floor is a sign that minimum standards we're not met. What is worse, during our 2 night stay, it remained there. They did take 20%off the bill, but it was still overpriced for the quality. Traveling companions in different rooms discovered hair on the sheets and towels upon check in. The hotel is in dire need of a remodel. Some rooms have been done, but the attention to detail is lacking. There are plenty of non-chain hotels to check out (one is a few doors down)....think twice about this property.

The hotel falls below expectations due to poor internet service, not very trained receptionists and not very attentive housekeeping. Breakfast area was not available during the day and evening. Dirty plates were common at breakfast.

Bathroom was extremely dirty with lots of black fungy. Did not dare to touch te door; full of black fungy dots. Corridors carpet was dirty. During in and outchecking, the assistants of the office were at the same time answering the phone. Breakfast was not sufficiently complemented.

Overall, this hotel isn't the most up to date in terms of carpeting and furniture; however, it makes up for it with the excellent service, easy access location, pool, and food options on site. There is a restaurant / bar on site. The bar is on the first floor and the restaurant is on the second floor allowing families that don't want to be near the bar a separate seating location and folks that want to have a more low-key dining experience an option on the first floor. The staff were friendly, the restaurant food was good, the complimentary breakfast was fantastic.

Clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Room was very large. On site restaurant as well as another restaurant next door. Small indoor pool. Our room was in the building farthest from the road so it was very quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Upon arrival staff was very helpful and very pleasant - room was clean, had dinner in restaurant - good food, at front desk they had hot choc., tea and coffee 24 hours, enjoyed a tea after dinner. Breakfast was large assortment, only missing tea bags. Checking out the young lady at desk went out of her way and gave us a map to the redwood. She was very helpful and pleasant.

Friendly front desk staff was so welcoming especially after a long drive along the Oregon coast (we checked in after 1am so I forgot his name). Heidi, Natasha, Chang and Loyd were great and attentive during breakfast. Room was a little worn -- towel, shower curtain and sheet all had holes. Great Staff but too Pricey for Holey Accommodations!

I stayed in crescent city for a week tried out a few different hotels/motels in the area. Best western was by far the best one we had chosen. The only down fall was the bed was a bit hard everything else was great. They have an indoor pool , hot tub , sauna and fitness center!!!!!! Nice views in their free breakfast room. Very nice set up we enjoyed breakfast , they have everything you can think of. Breakfast gal Natasha : kept us happy helped us when we had a few questions even helped with directions. Kept small talk, not just with us buta bunch of tables around us. My husband and I had a great stay. We will be staying again when we make our way back to this beautiful town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Friendly service, decent accommodations and great breakfast served by an awesome crew: Natasha, Cassie, and Chang. The people are nice and genuine which made our stay very pleasant and satisfying. Standard hotel accommodations were clean and worth the price.

From the moment we walk in the the door were treated rudely, Becky, the receptionist, was very snippy almost as if we were making her day terrible for showing up. After a few moments of talking with her I told my wife, maybe we don't want to stay here. Becky said its past the cancellation time we will still charge you. We went discuss weather to stay or not and the next guest came up and she was equally rude with him and he left. We disided to stay. The room was noisy, the curtains were ripped, the water for the shower was cold and the continental breakfast we were supposed to get at 6:30 am wasn't ready, not a thing was out not even fruit. If this was the first Best Western we stayed at there would not be a second. In the past 30 days we stayed at 20 different Best Western's and they were all wonderful. This one was the hotel from hell.

Very disappointed in room. Wires hanging down from window. Pool hyperchlorinated to the point you couldn't enter the building without your eyes burning. Internet very slow. Best part was the location across from the harbor. Bed was uncomfortable I felt like there was a hard wire hitting into all of my back. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was good.

We have stayed at this Best Western numerous times and every stay is better than the last. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic with selections to meet most any taste. There are always enough staff around to help and they are very friendly. There is a restaurant and lounge on site and numerous others close by. Great property for all types of travelers.

This hotel was ok, but nothing to shout about. We would not stay here again. The rooms are dated and not the most comfortable. The rooms were noisy. It was convenient to the beach and harbor. The breakfast was good with many options and nice space to get around. Our rooms were behind a wall which blocked our view of the harbor. Maybe you could pay more for a view room. There was a family that had to run up and down the walkway outside our room which shook the whole room. Our second day was better once they left.

Some rooms have a view of the harbor and the ground level rooms can be accessed from the parking lot. Our room was very nice with microwave and refrigerator although we could hear people walking around upstairs. There is a fitness center and pool. All the staff we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast and the breakfast area were very good. If you walk across the street from the hotel there is an interesting harbor area with walking paths and fishing boats in port and information about the tsunami that wrecked the harbor area before it was rebuilt. Our stay was very enjoyable.

We were told this is the best Crescent City has to offer.....I think I would do some checking. Initially staff at check-in were just a bit "surly". Sleep quality was poor at best, absolutely no soundproofing between rooms. We had a significant gap under our door which was brought to the attention of staff on our first day.....no action. We brought it to the attention at check-out and of course they said it would be dealt with....I cannot imagine this has not been brought to their attention before. Nice breakfast and reasonable location. They were full every night so maybe this is the best Crescent City has to offer....

You always know your going to get a nice room at Best Western but if you upgrade to a view room at this hotel you'll get a suite with an awesome view of the harbor. It was truly one of the best rooms I've ever had at a Best Western Plus. We were in room 330 and it had a wrap around corner window and appeared to have been recently renovated. Very clean and quiet and had a great breakfast including BACON. One of the best hotels on our coastal trip.

Very nice hotel with many features - indoor pool & hot tub, exercise room, laundry room, comfortable rooms and a cool lobby. There's also a separate cafe which doubles as the breakfast buffet room in the morning - buffet is included in the room price. On the 2nd floor of the cafe is a nice steak house with ocean views.

This is a nice newer clean hotel. The staff is very nice. There is an onsite laundry room, a refrigerator and a microwave. The hotel is easy to find close to the water and there are restaurants close by.

Have stayed at a lot of hotels, this was not the best, had to sleep on the far side of bed, the side near the light was wore out, needed two chairs, only one, big deal getting second chair. The restaurant for me was ok, not great, but my son got sick from the gravey. I hope the hotel reads this and changes to a better place to stay. BUD CARTER, TEXAS

We stay at Best Westerns hotels because they meet a standard we expect when we are traveling. That being said, sometimes the expectations have been met and and not a lot more. That sums up this hotel. Clean, accommodating, decent breakfast (coffee was lacking), good front desk help. Nothing particularly exciting nor memorable about our stay here. Were it not for the Best Western points we scored, we might have considered another hotel.

I had an amazing stay here in crescent city. I was here just in time for nice weather and pretty sunsets. It's in a great location close to the beach. Heather at the front desk was very helpful and nice with directions and information. The pool was great , good temperatures. They have a big full hot breakfast I had a complication with Cassandra that I had even asked her what her name was. She was straight rude made me want to take my food and leave. The other employees in breakfast such as Natasha and a younger guys were helpful, kept the food stocked, the coffee going. Anytime I said I had a question Natasha or the younger guy(which I was unable to get his name) was right there to help, I was grateful she & he were nice! She also had asked me how my stay was as well as asked me to go on trip advisor to do a review on my stay and on breakfast! All in all I had a good stay with my mom & my daughter here in crescent city.

Very convenient, inexpensive and has all the amenities that a traveler can want. Enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna with each visit. Close by restaurants make it a worthwhile stop. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. They had computers in the lobby that we put to good use.

Came down coast and wantwed to take flatlander in-laws to redwoods. Found excellent BW in Crescent City. Good breakfast, nice area, good beds, and an excellent price. Rooms were clean and on ground floor.

We walked around the area and there isn't much available in Crescent City .old, dingy looking motels..the one with a AAA rating looked pathetic. There is a newer one - A "Choice" hotel-but due to their poor quality of rewards points I won't stay at their's unless i have too. But truly this hotel is great. It's new looking, very clean, comfy beds and helpful staff. I've read some comments about small rooms and outside doors-so I recommend the middle or back building for inside hallways and quiet. From what I saw the rooms looked spacious back there. I didn't use the wifi, so can't comment on that. The breakfast room is large and clean with the usual hotel offerings. While I can't get excited over that-I don't care for a big breakfast anyway. They had juice, low-fat milk and cheerios-so I was happy. We did initially have a room issue, but it was handled to our satisfaction. Kudo's to Robert-the front desk manager for customer service above and beyond. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

We booked this hotel because we needed a hotel in crescent city just for one night and this had the best star rating. We had low expectations but the hotel certainly lived down to these and beyond. High points Using the restaurant and one meal arriving 15 mins after the others along with a complimentary desert. Hair in the shower that wasn't ours No water to the basin Plumbing so loud it woke you up when the room above used the bathroom A fridge that sounded like it was about to explode even when it was supposed to be switched off. We didn't complain because we were very tired and having cleaned the bathroom ourselves we didn't want have to do it again in a different room.

We came across this hotel driving home along the coast. We had planned to stop in Eureka but we didn't like looks of the town and pushed on. Glad we did. This hotel is right on 101, clean, comfortable, and perfect for family of 4. The only issue was internet in our room would not work, thinking it was due to being in back building. Breakfast included and good. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable of area.

thurs evening check in: when we arrived in our room, we noticed one bottle of lotion, two bottles of conditioner, none of shampoo. we walked to the lobby and asked for some shampoo. we tried to get online but were unable to. we walked again to the lobby and voila, instant wifi. we returned to our room and our connection was wonderful. friday: went next door to northwoods for breakfast. set up was nice. bottled water, small cartons of soy milk, pastries, bagels, instant oatmeal, fruit salad, waffle maker, juice machine, coffee. however, the yogurt machine had no indication what kind of yogurt, i.e., flavor, nutritional information, etc. hubby is diabetic and counting carbs is required, so the yogurt was not an option. the hot entrees: bacon was in bits and pieces; eggs looked like they'd been thru a grinder - bits and pieces - bacon and eggs were cold. we were gone most of the day for my outpatient surgery. on our return we found a new handsoap at the basin, but no bath soap at the tub. the pen left in the room was dry / out of ink. we walked to the lobby and asked for bath soap and a pen. we thought it was the bldg we were in, but actually, it was the room we were in that we had no wifi on cell phones, tablet or laptop. since i'd just had surgery that morning, another walk to the lobby was not possible. very inconvenient not being able to catch up on email and take care of business. saturday: again, no wifi. went to the lobby and logged on with no problem. then when we walked into our room we lost the connection. robert came over from the lobby and spent 30-40 minutes troubleshooting with the internet service people, to no avail. the best solution was to step into a room around the corner and do some work there. we spent abt 20 minutes there and returned to our room without finishing what we needed to do and what we would have liked to do. robert did discount saturday night's rate, but the inconvenience of not having wifi two days in a row was difficult to deal with and i'm still catching up.

The room seemed a bit small for a Best Western, but I think it just simply contained too much furniture for the allotted space. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. My advice would be to eliminate some of the furnishings.

This is the third time we have stayed here and I like it more each time. Very convenient right on 101, not far from the Redwoods. So close in fact to the Trees of Mystery that we had to spend a little extra time enjoying breakfast waiting for it to open. VERY good breakfast. Nothing wrong at all here. wouldn't hesitate to stay again anytime..

Without fail, this property never disappoints. The quality of the room, food, facilities and staff are always tip topper. We visit Crescent City twice a year to meet with family and we will never consider another property.

We had a great experience with the hotel and the restaurant. Clean, great staff and accommodations. Oh, and the views from the room and restaurant you'll have to see yourself. Beautiful! The Sunday brunch was the best buffet we had ever been to and I mean it. The presentation, quantity of food, quality of food and staff were all outstanding. Simply amazing!

the staff were efficient . We had a problem in our room and the staff were very quick to fix it. The restaurant was very good for dinner and they also served the breakfast which was also very good. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here just recently. The roo. Was clean. It was not full but we were put in back so no view at all. I booked through a third party so I couldn't get points. I did not know this. It was still pricey but I thought I'd get points. The pillows were rocks and my husband couldn't sleep. Also as we were following asleep two families or one big one were checked in on either side of us. They were very noisy and disturbed us that night and then again in the morning. It was like they were in our room. There is no isolation between rooms.

Clean rooms, good bed quality, great location - across the from the harbor, best breakfast around. Fun listening to seals barking at night, kind of calming. Love happy hour at the pub and the upstairs restaurant is very good with excellent servers and food presentation. One of the best prime rib dinners I've had in a long time.

They did a great job. Food was good. Room was awesome. Pool was nice. Staff rocked it. Express checkout was hugely helpful. Close to the redwoods, the beach, and a light house. Wonderful quick vacation. Thank you.

Nice hotel/motel. More hotel but outside entry so some would consider it a motel. Rooms are very nice, beds are more than comfy after many hours on the road. Extra blanket and pillows in the closet. Tons of extras to make you feel at home. Great starter breakfast in the morning. Quiet location on highway 101 near the harbor.

This hotel wasn't what I was expecting. The pictures made it look quite different. The bed was uncomfortable and obviously an older mattress. The restaurant was expensive and the food was mediocre at best. The part that bothered me the most was the continental breakfast in the morning. Unless you arrived when it was open, they were out of food. We were there for three mornings in a row and arrived earlier each day only to find no food. Also, the kids ran rampant and were touching food on the buffet with there hands and there was no hotel supervision to take care of this. It was gross.

We booked two nights in this hotel while visiting the redwoods expecting to get a Best Western standard hotel. We were not disappointed. the hotel met our expectations in most aspects. However, we have to comment on two setbacks that should not happen in such a place. First, it seems the team of housekeepers is not sufficiently experienced. Our room was not serviced properly and coffee sachets were not replenished. We hope it is not a managerial saving step because we fail to see the difference between booking 2 nights in advance and in sequence. Anyway, the reception that was very kind and cooperative in the first place was quick to help us. Second, the organization of the dining hall for breakfast is very poor. The staff does not come in time to prepare the room and the food. They let food items run out and they should be urged to replenish (again, is this a managerial saving move?). Why an overall good place, should leave customers with some bad feelings is beyond my apprehension. I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again if I ever come again to this area. Therefore I do not hesitate recommending it.

Very clean hotel. Seems to be recently updated. After a week in California this is the best bargain I've had in California. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying in this hotel if visiting Crescent City, CA.

My room had a huge gap in the door that made it seem like people outside were in my room. Room was ok but a bit dirty. Breakfast was aweful, dirty plates and forks. I had to go through a few before I found clean ones. The guy serving looked like he wore his pajama bottoms to serve. There was another guy but only saw him once.

One of the best best western hotels anywhere in the US!!!! I've spent over 900 nights at best western across the US and this one is hands down one of the greats !! Excellent price for the room ,cheap hotel price ,luxury stay !!

We stopped in Crescent City for two nights while we were going to the Jedediah Smith Redwood Forest. This hotel was only about a 15 minute drive to the woods. It's located right across the street from the oceans. You wake up to the seagulls and the sound of the calm waves in the ocean. This hotel is perfectly located close to many restaurants along their piers. The front desk agent that checked us in was very friendly and gave us a list of things to do in the area. Breakfast is served in the mornings too. I'd stay here again when visiting the redwoods.

This motel is not a hotel. It compares with Super 8 and Days Inn. It is not worthy of a "plus". The location was good. The room was clean and looked nice, but the curtain was torn and the beds were lumpy. The clock-radio's time was off by several hours, but a woman at the front desk was helpful solving that problem. We were on the ground floor and footsteps and musical bass reverberations above us were quite loud; obviously no insulation between floors. Other than the waffles, the hot breakfast was unappealing. The plates were coId, like you would expect to see at a salad bar, and promptly chilled the "hot" foods. I don't know how they managed it, but the powdered scrambled eggs were actually tough. The sausage patties looked like soggy pieces of cardboard, so I didn't bother to taste one. The bacon was soggy-greasy and didn't taste very good. The coffee was mediocre, just barely okay. Our second morning breakfast experience was, well, quite an experience. In less than 10 minutes, we were interrupted three times by staff: twice by the same woman and then by a man. All three times, our conversation was interrupted by a staff member wanting to know if our breakfast was good. Twice, I told the woman everything was fine. The third time - really??? - we got up and left. Our job as customers should not have to include training your staff not to be intrusive. It really put a sour note to the end of our stay.

They had a good location near the water. The pool and hot tub were great to use after a long day of hiking. The breakfast was one of the better ones I have had throughout my travels. They had hot dishes (bacon/sausage/eggs/waffles) along with lots of fruit, cereal, and yogurt.

We drove the lovely, rugged Oregon coast and needed a place to stay for the night at the first town in California along the coast, which is Crescent City -- home of Pelican Bay super-max prison which you see on your right as you head south. We checked out another hotel up the road, which was awful, so we drove to the Best Western Plus. The check-in was smooth. The room was modern, although it could use some touch-ups in the bathroom, as there was some paint chipping. Also, there was some kind of chair in the bathroom apparently to assist seniors or disabled in bathing, which I had never seen before. All in all, it was a perfectly adequate night in a town just north of the redwood forests.

2 different rooms and good quality services. They moved our bags for us from room to room. Nothing got missed. Winter rates were fantastic and the weather was great too. A Christmas Party next door made the parking lot over crowded and non of the party goers could read because the sign said "Hotel Guest Parking Only" Another sign said, "Restaurant parking in rear." Oh well.

This hotel was one of the most spacious Best Westerns I have ever stayed at. Our room was massive. It was an amazing room for a low price. We were a little disappointed that we missed breakfast because it ended at 9 and we showed up at 9:30. We were not informed of the breakfast hours when we checked in. There is a very good restaurant on the property which was very convenient. The jacuzzi and sauna were great. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel, located on the main drag of Crescent City is very convenient and well situated. The front desk staff is very efficient, friendly, and professional. ItThe hotel itself has undergone a recent renovation, but the bones of it are old and the downstairs rooms in the front are noisy when people are walking or RUNNING (as they were the night we stayed) on the upper exterior deck/hallways. The interiors are pleasant and the rooms we've stayed in (several times over many years) have all had very comfortable beds. The amenities are and have always been in working order. The bar is very good, and they currently have a great bar tender. The breakfast is nothing to rave about. Standard fare for Best Western or any other chain hotel. It fills a hole in the morning. We will be back because it is very convenient for what we are in Crescent City, CA to do.

Very nice room, this is the only place I stay at when I'm in Crescent City. Breakfast is worth price of admission. Warm chocolate chip cookies would be a great addition to check-in. It is always nice to listen to the Harbor Seals barking in the distance.

This is one of the nicer hotels we have stayed in . We had a king suite that faced the ocean. The view was amazing, the room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The shower handle was a little messed up and the light didn't work on the left side of the bed, but otherwise, no complaints.

The staff was very friendly if a little too casual in appearance, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom very basic. Breakfast was almost cold with no staff in sight but dinner was excellent with very good service.

We had the best room we have had in a long time. The room was way more than what we needed - full kitchen etc. Our entire family could have fit in the shower - delightful !!!!!It was very clean and quiet. Would totally go back if in the area.....great value for your money. I'm sure the rates are much higher in the summer.

This was a return trip for us. We stayed 4 nights and found everything we needed and more (no valuables to put in the safe) Rooms are quiet, staff was very available and helpful. housekeeping up to snuff, restaurant experience great. We ate there twice and on the other nights chose a less expensive option. Location is very handy, the view of the marina is sweet. On our last trip there was no elevator, but they added that and we appreciated it as we prefer an upper floor. ,

The staff in this location are all amazing. Many rooms upgraded and great breakfast. Good location right on the 101. My only complaint is some of the rooms are older and have dingy bedspreads. Internet has always worked great in this location except for my most recent stay. I can't say enough good things about the staff, really great crew!

Better than usual free breakfast. Third floor rooms new, large, big marble bathroom with huge shower. Restaurant on property very good although that night was a temperature problem--everything arrived lukewarm or cold.

This is a great hotel. I am always satisfied with the Best Western hotels I stay at! reasonably priced, good continental breakfast, and always has professional and kind staff. I check the rooms for quality before I unload any luggage into my rooms, and this is one of the cleanest rooms I've stayed in!

nice hotel. Handicapped rooms have only one bed, and those rooms are the only ones with "comfort height, toilets. Regular rooms toilets are very low and there are no grab bars by the toilets or in the tub/shower. Laundry and indoor pool are nice amenities. Free breakfast at restaurant. Good Harvest next door to the north is a great reataurant, especially for vegetarian and gluten free options!

I was pleased with staying at the Best Western in Crescent City. My room was very quite away from the highway. They are renovating the building I was in so the hallways were being worked on. The only thing I want to mention is the internet connection kept dropping every few minutes. Otherwise everything else was okay.

Was very pleased with our service of the staff and the quality of the food especially in the new restaurant Knollwood. Will definitely stay at this Best Western if we passed through this area again .Thank you Best Western for making our trip pleasant

Stayed here for one night and was 'wowed' by this property. Beautiful room, gorgeous grounds and right across the street from the beach! We ate at this property's restaurant and was pleasantly surprised for both breakfast and supper.

We were planning on staying only 1 night, but we liked the area so much we ended up staying 3. Hotel was very accommodating with our extension.Great location, friendly staff, clean room. Close to Redwoods National Park. Close to beach.

August 28 and 29, 2017 - After driving down the Oregon Coast, we stopped for two nights at the Best Western Plus Northwoods Inn. We arrived around 7pm; just time enough to check in, get settled, and have dinner. This is a fairly large Best Western Inn and rooms are located in several buildings in addition to rooms in the building where registration is located. Generally, we prefer to be on the first floor in the room where registration is located and close to the breakfast, pool, business center, and laundry. However, we were given room 257 in the building across from the main building. That was fine. We had to take our luggage from the car and put it onto a cart to take to the 2nd floor of our building. Getting the cart through the doors on the second level at the hallway was a little challenging. Then we had to push the cart through the hallway, out the other doors, onto the balcony and down to our room 257. It was worth the challenge because the room was bright and clean. The beds were comfortable, the shower was sparkling, the TV was great, and the carpet was clean. The next two mornings, we walked over to the breakfast, which was excellent. The same breakfast area also is a sports bar/restaurant during dinner hours. We looked at it on our first night but decided it was too loud. On our second night, we used the laundry, which was very good with plenty of folding space. The hotel is convenient to the Redwood National Park area. We would stay again.

We had a suite on the third floor with a view of the harbor. The room was very large and roomy; the bed was very comfortable. What was surprising and wonderful about this suite was the bathroom. Very roomy with a walk-in shower large enough for two. A walk-in shower is very appreciated by people with mobility issues. Also, this hotel had an elevator.

I stay in Best Westerns all the time and find them generally fairly consistent from the furnishings, to the breakfast, to the upkeep. I think of them as a safe bet, but this one didn't work out. I was there for three nights on business. My room had a peculiar smell, like house paint but not quite, and came with its own supply of both house flies and mosquitoes. Bummer.

Coffee maker did not work, TV did not work and toilet would not flush. Called front office to let them know and they said they could not do anything about it. Unplug TV and hard restart no good did not work. Toilet we would fill trash bucket with water out of bath tub and flush the toilet usually do this when we are camping not hoteling it. Coffee maker non op and did not offer us another room or replacement for anything.

Eric, who was the host at breakfast, was wonderful! He was very welcoming and helpful. Harbor view from the room on the third floor was nice to wake up to. Breakfast fare was good. Nice variety of breakfast food. P

Over priced for having non functioning amenities. At check out, the front desk attendant gave a token response and handed the receipt and replied "here's your receipt" but offered no attempt to correct the problem.

Nothing really outstanding here except the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. We had a room with 2 bedrooms and small kitchenette. Very nice!! Has a nice family restaurant next door and the free continental breakfast was quite good.

Spent 2 nights in hotel and thus far on my trip this has been the best value. Rooms basic but cleaning was to a very high standard. Breakfast provided as part of package and young man by the name of Eric was a star not so much for his waiting skills but for his gift of the gab.Well done young man.Ate upstairs in restaurant which was enjoyable and once again first class service from Melinda food was so so. Hotel right on Highway so ideally situated for Redwood Forests and local beaches.Free coffee and cookies was a nice touch at reception during the day and also used laundry on site which was a godsend after a week on the road

We stayed here for one night during the forest fires in early September. The room was in a newer building and had a great view of the mountains to the east. Best was good, wifi strong, and room was clean. Will stay here again.

The best of the Best Westerns we have stayed at on our trip from San Francisco to Seattle. Room was large, clean and comfortable. More to see in the area than we thought. Ate at adjoining restaurant 365 which was OK.

Excellent hotel. The nicest one in town. We have stayed at 5 others in town and will never stay anywhere else now. Rooms are very clean. Nice extra touches like extra pillows on the bed with the blanket being encased in sheets and a comfortable bed. Fantastic vanity lights, a comfortable lounge chair & clean carpet. Great hotel.

In general the hotel is kept up, the room we occupied was a little run down, but clean and comfortable enough. The only issue that I had with the bed was the pillows which are like little hard squares of misery...It's like they took standard pillows, compressed them and cut them in half. I will definitely bring my own next time. Also, the adjoining Northwoods Restaurant, that we loved in the past has been remodeled. Sadly, the quality of food and service seem to be suffering greatly at the expense of improved aesthetics.

Great location and easy to get to. Right on Hwy 101, yet did not hear any traffic noise. Will stay here again next time we drive to California. Wish we had more time to look around the town, but we were in home mode

I stayed at this hotel for one night during a road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, spacious and quiet (for the most part - there is a foghorn in this town that does not stop, which you might hear occasionally), and the breakfast was fantastic. My only criticism is that the fitness room was somewhat subpar, but as I was not here on an extended stay it was not a big deal. I would definitely stay here again and I'm very happy with the value I received.

I'm a BW frequent traveler and just checked into the BW Northwoods Inn in Crescent City and was totally blown away by the room! its brand new on the third floor with a great view of the harbor and beach. Robert W. check me in and he was super cordial and when I asked if I could get a room with a view of the harbor, he upgraded me to the nicest room I've had the pleasure of visiting at any BW ever. I wish I could post a pic of the room, but I suggest you plan for one of the new rooms on the third floor when you visit. Thanks again to Robert, and all the staff for making our stay one to remember!

This is the worst motel I have stayed at in years- in fact I didn't think this motel style still existed. I reviewed the room online and it bore no resemblance to the room I was assigned. I was told if I wanted a new room I would have to pay extra- I already had paid over $200. Basically it is a dump- the kind of place you feel you have to sleep with one eye open. This was my second 2 week road trip this year and I have stayed in rooms that would be luxury suites compared to this and for a lot less money. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy- well maybe!! Save yourself money and prevent that creepy feeling by avoiding this place like the plague.

We left another hotel due to mold in the room and were so happy that this one had 1 vacancy left on a busy Labor Day weekend! It was a perfect room. Clean and beds really comfy. The pool and hot tub were clean and our kids loved it. The on site restaurant was a big plus. Great food.

Very large and clean rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. Willing to go the extra to make sure everything is to your liking. Restaurant has great views and the staff is also very helpful. Good views of the marina and harbor from the Ocean Room. Staff seemed happy and to enjoy working in both places. Definitely on our list of place to visit again!

Stayed at this property many years ago and had a pleasant experience. As a Best Western Rewards customer, I like having a place to stay with a restaurant onsite and very close to the Redwoods. This time around I was disappointed. We were in a first floor room that did not feel very clean in my opinion. The bathroom floor was dirty, especially behind the door with hair and dust. The room had a musty smell. The ceiling above appeared to have been repaired but was quite squeaky when the people above walked around. It made me concerned about the structural integrity of the floor above and our ceiling. Another disappointment was the non-working hot tub. The service in the Northwoods Restaurant for dinner was atrocious even though it was quite busy. After our order was placed, 5 tables were served before us that arrived after us. There was no soap in the women's bathroom...so how were the female employees washing their hands properly. After talking to our waitress and her telling me it takes a long time to make the French Dip sandwich (the special of the night), I wasn't buying it having worked in the industry. When the food arrived the meat in the French Dip was ground and the texture of canned dog food. We spoke with the manager who did not charge us for the food (we didn't eat it after taking one bite). Robert at the Front Desk was quite helpful in providing us with a local recommendation for food which we appreciated. The cookies offered at check in were good too. On a high note, the complimentary breakfast was good. Check in and check out went smoothly. Free parking and free wi-fi is a plus at this property,

It was fine for a place to sleep. Pretty dirty though. The maid didn't replenish anything and she vacuumed up my iPad charger & ruined it. She left a note and said sorry, don't leave it on the floor. It was plugged in the same wall with the lamp, she seemed to have not vacuumed it up. No one offered to pay for a replacement, just looked in the lost & found. Sadly, no other poor sap left one behind for me to use. The washer was broken as well as the outdoor hot tub. I realize it's California but, really? So expensive! Internet was spotty and we had to log in every few minutes.

Nice place to stay. Lots of amenities. My son loved the pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Love that they have an onsite restaurant with free breakfast. Close to the beach. Will definitely recommend to others!

WE were going to make a trip tp Crater Lake Oregon and had never seen the Redwoods and because of the location we were able tp do both. The redwoods we saw were only two miles from our hotel. The hotel was excellent. It had a restaurant attached with a great breakfast.

I was assigned a room up front in the layout Room 241. It was a great size and what I expected from Best Western Plus. The room looked updated, was clean & plenty of drawers. The TV is small though. The worst part of the stay was the noise from the road! I specifically asked if it was a noisy room, and while there weren't loud voices & foot traffic, there were loud engines & road traffic! Although almost all of the Crescent City lodging is conveniently along Hwy 101, some of the hotels are set back from the road and tend to be much quieter. Sorry BW, you didn't cut the grade for me.

The staff are super friendly and helpful The rooms were clean. The motel is older style with open outside corridors and windows facing the corridor. This made it difficult to open windows or drapes due to lack of privacy. The front rooms experience a fair amount of road noise. Breakfast is combination of hot and cold items. I

This hotel is located in the most beautiful spot on Hwy 101 in California. The rooms are great. The service is super friendly. They have a restaurant right on the premises. Could have stayed longer if not on our 21 day trip in the U.S.

We booked a room for the 5 of us. The room was large and comfortable with 2 queen beds and a sofa pullout. This was great for 2 adults and 3 kids. Wi-fi was free and fairly speedy. The room was clean with a large bathroom and shower. There is also a kitchen for those with extended stays. The pool was large and the depth is only 4 feet so great for kids. There is also a large exercise room and sauna. The breakfast area is not attached to the main building and is large to accommodate a large number of people. They may have been understaffed for breakfast as they had trouble keeping things stocked. The beds are very comfortable. The location is good for sightseeing. The buildings appear fairly new and well maintained. I would recommend this property to anyone who visits the area.

Great room nice and quiet. The basic breakfast no hash browns and eggs (warm) bacon thin and cold and the sausage was the same. I have to say with a full full kitchen that can make basic customer breakfast already in place.! Why make a self service buffet that is only ok a most . They have a wonderful pool and hot tub up

Walls thinner than cigarette paper, you hear everything that's going on in the building, showers, conversations outside and inside, when the trolley passed along the balcony we thought there was a twister approaching. Breakfast hours are too limitating, and the hotel is not isolated from the road. There is no phonic isolation whatsoever. Apart from that, the room was very clean and tidy, I hope that a whole lot of my dollars is going to the cleaning team...! We stayed at motels with the same acoustic disconfort for 50 bucks.

We stayed 6 nights in a 2 queen w/ kitchen room- room was spacious, no hide a bed though, 2 chairs, no sofa. Kitchen is very basic. no toaster, missing kitchen utensils-we were given sporks by the front desk and told what is in the room is what's available. Bring your own dish rags, dish washing tablets, working can opener, bbq utensils and charcoal if you plan to use the BBQ offered as an amenity. We've stayed at other hotels and these were part of the amenities. Complimentary breakfast is nice but same food is served every day.

Stayed there on a trip up the coast. The motel is large, staff was friendly, rooms were clean and what you expect from a newer BW. It uses the restaurant on site for the morning breakfast but it stops serving breakfast at 9:00 so I missed it (slept in a bit). The motel filled up by the end of the night but was still quiet and relaxing stay there.

This hotel was friendly, efficient, and clean. The breakfast had a varied assortment and was very good. If you want a big and newer room, request the third floor (I don't know if these rooms are more expensive or not). Parking is mostly in the back. Would recommend for your stay in Creacent City!

Cheerful staff, convenient location, solid breakfast, really comfortable beds, great water pressure made this a pleasant stop. Staff were accommodating when we made a special request. Nice place to stay.

We stayed for 3 nights. Loved that we could walk to the beach and restaurants. King size bed was comfortable. The breakfast choices were amazing and the food was delicious. It was great having the refrigerator in the room as well as a coffee maker.

Tub didn't drain well at all (filled up while taking showers), dry rot at entry door floor (very big and soft and dangerous), frame at vanity mirror falling off and held together with tape, square throw pillows for sleeping with. The recreation center had no towels anywhere (no drying off at the pool or wiping sweat off your face in the fitness room), no disinfectant for the exercise equipment, weight equipment held together questionably and doubtfully safe. Room was made up, but no towels, wash cloths or bath mat was replaced, only removed. The staff was friendly, the room and grounds clean. Not worth the money.

Had a wonderful time in crescent city at the Northwood inn best western. Went to trees of mystery and the Fri e thru tree. The hotel was wonderful. Great amenities and facilities for the little ones and the teens. Nice little patios off the rooms. Very quaint. Nice view and right next to good food places. The restaurant there had wonderful food and extremely nice people

Overall an enjoyable area to visit. Unfortunately, our stay at the hotel was soured significantly when the hotel staff was unable to make repairs of the room toilet that was backing up. We were also a bit disappointed that we did not get contacted by hotel staff about an item that we believe was inadvertently left behind at the room.

We ended up here because my Mom ended up in the hospital during our cross country trip. The staff was kind, rooms were clean, and the area was quite. There is a really good Ocean museum down the road for kids.

Stayed one night in an executive king bed room. Rooms are in multiple buildings on the property. Parking is tight. Our room had a non functioning nightstand lamp (was not the light bulb, I checked it). The bed mattress was awful. My side was broken down and felt like I was going to roll out of bed all night. Wife's side had ridges running under her neck that were uncomfortable. We were traveling and checked in late. Was not aware of the bed problem until we went to bed. By then it was too late to bother reporting to front desk. For $209, was not worth it.

Our first sopmafter the redwoods. This place was clean, and quiet. The breakfast was good, and it was easy in and out for coming and going. The restaurant on site had new ownership, I don't remember the name, but it was very good for supper.

This hotel was a stones throw away from the Redwood Forrest. The staff was very helpful in navigating us to tourist attractions. We are always very happy with the cleanliness of Best Western hotels and this one was great. The pool was warm and the family enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The breakfast is perfect for getting out day started. We would definitely stay there again!

Stopped here on our way from San Francisco to Bandon. Stayed in the only room left which was third floor overlooking the highway and the marina, very modern and clean room but very expensive at almost $300 for a Best Western! Front desk has a relationship with two restaurants next-door but I wouldn't recommend going to the one downstairs we walked in and walked right out. We ended up eating at the brewery which was very good and had a great atmosphere.

We were visiting the Redwoods with extended families. I decided on the Best Western because of their breakfast and the pool even though the price was more than what we usually spend. Everyone had a wonderful time!! The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of things to satisfy everyone and it gave us a good start of the day. The kids loved the pool. The rooms were clean and efficiently laid out with the sink outside of the bathroom. Towels were nice and fluffy. The only complaint I have is the water from the faucet tasted horrible and that I wished there were one more waste basket in the room. I would definitely consider coming back here if we came back here again with the families!!

We reserved 2 weeks ahead of time. I signed up for points plus. So excited to stay In the heated pool nice updated hotel as promised, when got to my room on 2nd floor 248 so dissapointed when I opened up the door. Very dated room. Then I looked in bathroom to broken tiles and ripped carpeting. I went up to 3rd floor to get ice and noticed 3rd floor was updated and smelled nice and clean. I came down to my room and asked to be moved and they said they couldn't. We tore off the bedding and slept in our sleeping bags bc it felt so dirty. Next day the elevator stopped working so we had to carry our suitcases down flights of stairs. We did call and complain. The pool was horrible. Smelled of chlorine and pee and it was NOT HEATED. This bestwestern was not worth the money.

The hotel staff very helpful and courteous. The hotel very clean and acomadating. Excellent breakfast and cleanliness. Loved the stay,accommodating to power chair accessiblility. Would re commend this hotel

We appreciated that the staff switched us from King size beds to doubles per our request even though we had booked online. They weren't obligated to do that. However, our stay started off a bit rocky. One of the rooms we were first given appeared to have been occupied for a short time as the bed was rumpled and the garbage full with a few things on the counters. Perhaps another guest changed rooms and the staff forgot to check it. Anyway, the staff apologized and moved us to another room quickly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the service we received the next morning at the continental breakfast. I wish I remembered the name of the woman who made sure to make us comfortable.

It was a last minute trip for us. The room was fine nothing fancy. It meet our needs for the 2 days we were there. The staff there are great. I just felt for the price it would have been a little nicer room. We paid $200 including tax a night. Location was great. Being right on 101 was wonderful.

I usually don't stay at Best Westerns, because it's always such a grab-bag, since they are franchised. I would highly recommend this particular one, tho, as our room was amazing, clean, comfortable and roomy, breakfast was complimentary, and American, not Continental, and delicious. The service was great, everyone was very friendly and helpful, even to the point of lending me a (restaurant-size) roll of plastic wrap so I could wrap my husband's foot to take a shower (he is recovering from surgery). I've stayed at some great hotels over the years, and I find myself pleasantly surprised ranking this one up with the best. You will not be disappointed!

Nice property, restaurant location is great. Breakfast is served there and then later opens as Public House/Fine dining. I failed to check out the view from the second floor though. Spent 3 days going down Oregon coast and still had a week of road tripping ahead of us, so staying at the more expensive Brooking's beachfront hotels wasn't a necessity. Going southbound seemed nicer than traveling northbound due to traffic.

It is called a Best Western Plus for a good reason. The exterior may look a little bit seasoned, but the interior is fresh and modern. The desk staff is great, and there are two restaurants on site. One serves seafood and steak, and the other serves pub food. The latter doubles as the complimentary breakfast location. The "Plus" is apparent in the generously sized modern rooms, complete with large walk in showers with high quality fixtures. At night, there was minimal noise from our room on the 3rd room facing 101, which had a nice view of the marina. It was nice hearing the fog horn in the distance at night. The hotel is close to the Trees of Mystery and other great redwood and coastal locations.

This was a fine place to stay. Not exceptionally noteworthy (as the BW in Eureka (Humbolt-Bay Inn) is, but it wasn't awful, either. The breakfast service was a bit crazy, but the free food was about what you would expect. Kids love waffles. Adults love granola, yogurt, and hot coffee. The morning staff was more helpful than the evening staff...could be they were just tired. Joshua, in particular, was most helpful. Traveling along the coast is fun and this hotel was just fine.

As usual, Best Western can be counted on to deliver a budget friendly, clean, standard room. The room was clean, a good size, and had a view of the marina across the street. The shower is not pressurized, which is not acceptable in a hotel - so the water ran hot and cold throughout. Not pleasant. There was NO parking to be had after 8 - so had to park behind the restaurant. I asked for a kettle for my room to make tea and they had none. They do have hot water in the lobby. Breakfast - at 8:45 there was nothing left, waited 10 minutes for some bacon and there was no batter for the waffles.

We stayed at this Best Western for two nights and the Arcata Best Western for two nights to have close access to the Redwood National and State Parks. The Crescent City Best Western Plus is a nice hotel to "come home to" after full days of hiking at Patrick's Point State Park, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Redwood National Park, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the last which is the closest redwoods state park to the Oregon Border. This hotel is also close to Crescent City's Battery Point Lighthouse and the beautiful False Klamath Cove beach. The first night we checked in and were given the room we'd booked, a standard king bed room. However, most of the building lost hot water that night and we were upgraded at no cost to a beautiful 3rd floor room with full kitchen and two queen beds. As with all Best Westerns we have booked, everything was clean and comfortable. This particular room had a gorgeous, huge, tiled walk-in shower and a roomy sitting area with leather chairs. Please see attached photos of the original and upgraded rooms. Also, though we didn't have time to use them, the indoor pool and exercise room looked great. The free buffet breakfast was wonderful! The buffet selection had something for everyone, so much so that I complimented the chef and servers: Scott, Kaitlin and Devonie. It is served in the restaurant on the grounds. We were given a voucher for the breakfast which is served to hotel guests only. I highly recommend this hotel for those planning a night or a week in the Crescent City area. Oh, and don't forget the homemade cookies and fresh coffee in the lobby. Yummy Snicker Doodles!

The hotel is located within the tourist area of Crescent City. Our room was a double queen, but small for two kids and two adults. The price paid was $160 per night. High price for the size. Decent breakfast, and the service was good. I'd probably look at another hotel before staying here again.

Friendly staff decent rooms free breakfast close to redwood park. Be aware some rooms are like motel with outside entrances ask for the buildings with internal doors. We had two rooms that connected and it was very convenient.

Newer hotel with many amenities, conveniently located across the street from the local harbor The Seafood restaurant had nice second story views of the harbor and the food was outstanding. The rooms were quiet and comfortable.

Great location, extremely clean and updated rooms, staff very well trained and demonstrated excellent customer service. Especially the two servers in the Breakfast Dining Room, specifically Devonic and Alex. My family was made to feel like we were their very special guests. I strongly recommend this Best Western Plus Northwoods Inn. Will return again!

Good location, on site restaurant food was good. Breakfast was chaos, couldn't get wi fi signal, lots of patrons of the on site bar hanging out in parking lot. If we return to Crescent City I would choose a different hotel because the layout of the property with all of the separate buildings wasn't family friendly.

We loved this place,although there were no restaurants in the hotel or breakfast offered (it's an extended stay hotel). They do have a small market to buy items to eat. They have free laundry (which we took advantage of). Nice rooms, very clean hotel.

The staff at the hotel were very professional and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Relaxing pool and Jacuzzi area. Decent fitness room to work out while you are away from home. Breakfast had lots of options available and was fresh, with hot or cold options.

This is a very large Motel. The staff is most courteous and knowledgeable. They were swift with our check-in and out. The rooms are very nice, large indoor pool great for kids. Breakfast was great, actually located in the onsite restaurant via voucher. A pleasant surprise complete with bacon, sausage, waffles, eggs, etc., fresh fruit galore! Worth the $

Hotel is a typical Best Western, clean and comfortable. we booked a king executive sweet and it is a VERY large room and well appointed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We have traveled to Crescent City many times but this is only the second time staying here...I know from now on this will be our go to place! Thanks Northwoods Inn your awesome!

Dated room. Soft bed. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Walls are paper thin and you can see daylight through the door. Highway noise was loud. You get what you pay for. Breakfast was actually pretty decent.

This best western was awesome. Every one was happy. We each had a queen size bed (4). Great suite. Bathroom was huge. I wish I would have stayed longer if I knew it was that good. I'm from florida and wasn't aware. I have stayed at BW in San Fransisco and it was terrible. Each BW has Individual owners.

Our family of four stayed one night in June 2017 and weren't terribly impressed. The room was small and tidy but the carpet felt dirty. On the plus side, the pool and spa area amused our kids, and the inn is within walking distance of a few restaurants. We slept fine and enjoyed the breakfast buffet included in our stay... and that's when the trouble started. About 7am-ish, we heard the fire alarm ringing, and there was black smoke billowing out of what looked like a stairwell or walkway area between the buildings. We were mostly packed already, so we braved the fire alarm to gather our suitcases and get out of the way. As the fire engines arrived, we left our keys at the front desk with the panicked staff.

At check in, was told my ADA room was not available because of a water leak, okay, I say. The room provided as a backup was not even a 2nd ADA room and was totally unusable for a wheelchair ADA client. The next day, I was NOT offered to move back into my ADA room with the fixed water leak, I had to ask and was treated as if I was asking for an upgrade. I had booked this ADA room a week in advance. No compensation, room discount or extra BW reward points was offered for the advance reservation not being accessible. 2nd worst BW stay in the same year.

The hotel was clean and close to everything in town. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub area. The only thing was the staff was not overly friendly....somewhat abrupt with people checking in and asking questions.

I was in the middle of a 10 day trip with different hotels along the way. To be honest I was a little worried about this one based off some of the reviews. It I was pleasantly surprised. Due to varying circumstances we were placed in a huge room on the 3rd floor of the middle building. It had a total of 4 queen beds along with a full kitchen and huge bathroom. This was well needed and was the best night of our trip. Great place for a family with need of many beds like we were. Would stay here again if I'm the area!

Bathroom was a bit small but other than that, a great room, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff. Places to eat close by, and walking distance to the beach. I was on a work trip and was able to get a good night's sleep each of four nights.

Crescent City is amazing!! This Inn has a nice view and good sized room however it is a little dated. The breakfast is good and the restaurant has some variety. I did have a mosquito issue while I was there, not sure if they followed me to the room or what.

It was a nice hotel and the staff were very nice. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and hotel amenities were nice. The Hotel was on the main road so access was very easy. Parking at the front of the hotel was minimal but there was plenty around the back portion.

Stayed here one night while on a road trip. we like BW properties in general and this one was no exception. Huge clean room with the usual amenities. Pleasant staff. Biggest surprise was the breakfast which was in a restaurant opposite the hotel. Plenty of seating space and everything you could want for breakfast including fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, waffles, and more. Oh and there was a fire in the laundry room which brought out the entire fire department. Despite all the noise and confusion, the staff remained calm and pleasant during what must have been an extremely stressful situation since the power had to be shut off. Definitely recommend this place if you are passing through

We have stayed here many times and keep going back for a reason, clean rooms, friendly people, across the street from the marina and a large choice of restaurants close by. The free breakfast buffet is good and some awesome servers to help. We will continue to return.

We loved our stay at this Best Western! Pool was fun. Rooms were very clean. Front desk is very helpful. The hostess at the on site restaurant was great! And breakfast was fabulous. Thank you to Kaitlin, Alex and Scott for the lovely food. Especially to Kaitlin for helping me get my hot water for my French Press coffee!! We will definitely stay again when in the area.

Took My wife, Maria to see Redwoods, which I promised her for 28 years! Stayed at Northwoods Inn, Best Western, via California Auto Assn. and had best vacation ever! Took a tram to see Redwoods at Trees of Mystery, visited Smith State Park and saw more Redwoods and Smith River--beautiful and magical!! Saw Ocean World and the smart sea lions - wow! Visited Marine Mammal Center! Saw Crescent City Harbor and fishing boats, and visited fantastic beaches with pristine views of the Pacific Ocean! Smaller cities dont have the high end hotels we usually stay in, but this was a quaint, lovely hotel. Room was clean, free breakfast. Poor lady working reception was slammed and a super long checkin line. Walls were thin, could hear everything going on around and above you. Would stay again if passing through this town again.

Arrived early, was able to check-in and get some rest. Needed to print and re-. send an important document for work,The front desk Manager assisted me with this with no hesitation. Document was sent successfully. Room was very nice as well.

This was my and my wife's first vacation together (married two years). And the staff at Best Western Crescent City Ca. made our stay the most enjoyable and wonderful experience. We will definitely be back soon!

Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. We drove in around midnight and the place looked almost packed we had a hard time locating parking that was close to our room and ended up parking way in the back by the buses. The complimentary breakfast was nicely kept with very friendly service even supplied to go containers if needed. However I felt that this location's price was a little too high compared to other places in town.

Excellent place to stay. The staff was very professional. The room had a great view of the ocean. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok. The pool and jacuzzi was very clean and warm.

Conveniently located just as you enter Crescent City (from the south). Close to a variety of restaurants in the city (short drive). Sports Bar restaurant located on premises (breakfast is served here). Staff is friendly and helpful and efficient in their jobs. Hotel is somewhat of an older style with access to the rooms from the outside (both ground and second floor), but it definitely makes it easier if you have a lot of luggage to unload to be located right at your doorway.

The room smelled, the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet, and the door lock didn't work -- a few of issues that I remember. We changed rooms once to a slightly nicer room (less smelly) but the issues listed above were from the "better" room. Also they charged us for the "upgrade" but didn't tell us that they were going to do so.

Nice best western. Great view and amenities. Helpful staff. The customer service person upgraded our room at no extra cost, just for being a rewards member. He put us in a larger room since we were a family of five. Within walking distance to some good food and the pier.

I can usually count on Best Western and seldom disappointed.This location is a great location close to everything. It has all the immunities microwave, refrigerator, wifi,bathtub and free hot breakfast. TV was clear and large which when traveling is nice. Crescent city is a beautiful spot with nice beaches, a little tough to get here right now due to all the road work but it is worth it.

We had 6 rooms for family and employees families and we all really enjoyed the indoor pool/hot tub. The fitness room and a delicious, healthy breakfast. Parking was easy and the multiple doors made access easy.

The room had an awkward smell, but it was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The check-in staff was friendly and helpful. The best part was the breakfast and the staff working it. The food was fresh and delicious. Alex was extremely polite, courteous and helpful.

A humming noise from the ceiling for two days. They fixed the problem but it was still annoying. They did offer another room but I had to many things to move and they wanted to move me to an upstairs room. The breakfast guy was watching everything you ate and checked your breakfast card like some kind of prison guard. Other than that it was ok.

If you're looking for a peaceful experience check out the Best Western in Crescent City. The drive to get there through the Redwoods is beautiful and proximity to the ocean is only steps away. The upstairs restaurant is fantastic. Try the prime rib, pepper steak or seafood medley. Sincerely, A Happy Camper!!!

Parts of the motel are older, but well-cared for. Breakfast was standard BW fare which is good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool was a little iffy as chlorine smell was quite strong. All in all a decent place to stay.

There was a mix-up with our reservation and we arrived to discover that we didn't have the room we had already paid for and we're told we had to pay again if we wanted a room. Our efforts to get a refund took several days and several calls before the manager took our call. We won't stay at a Best Western again but if you need a room that is clean just for an overnight it will do.

we have recently switched to staying mostly at a different hotel chain, but for Crescent City, this is our favorite hotel. We love the nicely heated pool that is only 4 ft so the kids can play safely. The breakfast offered is also amazing. Always clean and always treated well by the staff.

Great staff, property needs help, caring people made all the difference in the enjoyment of our stay and helped mitigate the issues with the room. The issues with the room were tub wouldn't drain during shower,3-4" of water in tub, very slow drain; sink faucet couldn't regulate hot/cold water temp properly; tv remote never would change volume or on/off, tried three different remotes.

Another stop on the road trip we used our points here too. Coming into town we ate elsewhere but they apparently have a restaurant on site which was a nice change. Turns out that's where breakfast is served in the morning too. The lobby is nice with the large wall fountain. The staff was friendly and rooms large and clean. Fridge and microwave in room, and our building had inside hallways, located across from the harbor it can be windy so that was nice. Breakfast was the usual staple Best Western food eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles array of pastries and cereals (hot and cold) juices, coffee tea etc. This breakfast ended at 9am so that was an hour earlier than our previous stops so hubby just brought me something since I slept a bit later and they had actual to-go containers available which was cool. So your not walking across parking lot with a plate and it getting cold. This was a 20,000 point bonus night too.

We were very happy with our overall experience at the Best Western in Crescent City. They stood above all our other options in the area; we went to a few hotels before confirming this hotel. They had a fantastic indoor pool, hot-tub and sauna! The continental HOT breakfast was amazing! All of the staff members were friendly and extremely helpful. We highly recommend this hotel, not to mention that it stood far above the rest in the area.

This was the first time we stayed at this facility, and wish we had stayed there before. As Best Western platinum members, we were given a room upgrade that seldom happens at other Best Western facilities. Besides that the staff there was very courteous and friendly. Will definitely stay there again next time when in that area.

Our room was clean had refrigerator and micro in room which was nice because we were there for 4 days.The bed was a little firm lots of pillows on each bed, slept great while here. Really liked the indoor pool and Jacuzzi,it rained a couple of the days we were there and took the kiddo down a few times on those days so no boredom:) The office staff was very friendly and helpful! The complimentary breakfast was good, lots of choices. would definitely stay here again!!

Everything was perfect! Starting with the fast and friendly checkin,we were greeted warmly, with fresh coffee in lobby.The property was spotless both outside and in the room.The best part was the hot breakfast bar,better than most breakfast buffets.We will be back and stay longer

The rooms were average compared to other best western plus hotels. The room smelled musky when we entered the room so we had to open the window for a while. The toilet sat too low & flushed oddly, and we could here the people above us walking back and forth in their room. The bed was also way too soft for our comfort. The parking lot also needs to be hosed down to clean spills left by hotel guests. Only plus is the excellent restaurant Good Harvest Restaurant next door.

Overall this hotel was adequate. It was clean, staff were friendly and although some of the services, like television and internet were not always up to par, the stay was okay. I suppose I would go back if I had the opportunity.

This is the best hotel we have stayed at in Crescent City. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is right on highway 101, which is convenient, and our room was in the back building, so it was quiet. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice. The breakfast was okay, but kind of chaotic because it is in part of the restaurant. Overall really nice place to stay near the redwoods and beach!

Enjoyed the stay. Free breakfast. Pretty average hotel and amenities. Wasn't to pleased with the indoor jacuzzi, it really didn't get hot and the Jets were terrible. Good location. Really close driving distance to a lot of scenic views and hikes.

This is a nice property and the room was clean. However, we stayed on the ground floor and we heard we the people above us walking and talking all night. We will request a room on the top floor next time.

We stayed here 2 years ago when they were renovating the main building. They have us a very nice room in the 'new' building in the back -- indoor room entrance, quiet. This year we were in the main building on the 1 st floor - exterior entrance, parking just outside the door with the associated noise, and our room faced the highway with some associated noise - not so good. The bathroom and room were small, and with my bad knees, the toilet was very low. If I stay here again I will need a handicapped room. I recommend staying above the first level to minimize the parking lot noise, and have a room that faces away from the highway or be in the building in the back for a quieter stay. There is a great restaurant next door (Good Harvest). We did not try the new restaurant at the hotel, but the menu looked good.

Although tired from a long trip, this hotel was wonderful and fit all my needs and more! Check-in was easy and quick, the manager, Patricia, was wonderful and really seems to love her job. The hotel breakfast was good, lots of choices with a fun energetic staff! Tina Marie, Johnny and Laurie were happy and extremely attentive, constantly making sure all the food was hot and stocked! Rooms were really clean, and a friendly staff, would definitely recommend this hotel!

There are good points about this hotel/motel. The staff are lovely and the bedrooms are grand. Very comfortable beds and the room is good. However, we did not like the idea of having no sink in the bathroom, instead it is in the main room. Fitments in the bathroom were loose, there was a water leak (slight) in the ceiling, and the hairdryer did not work. The pool area, gym and sauna had no changing room and in the pool itself the large drain pipe had detached from the pool wall and was hanging loose. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and only the grill in the Sports bar was open. Breakfast in in the same bar and is good. It is easy to put up with all the above if you are just looking for somewhere to rest your head for a night.

toilet propped up with shim. clock not set to daylight savings, resulting getting up an hour earlier to make the 6 am breakfast. no toilet paper in room, or tissues. no electric plug near desk. had to move desk in front of a/c. no closed captions on tv. tiny toilet, not a bw plus by any means!

Tina Marie , johnny and Laurie are so friendly and helpful made me laugh just wanted to take them with me , breakfast was just what i wanted , I do a lot of traveling and I'm one that looks for something wrong , will not this time
