If you are going to Mesa Verde Natl Park and don't mind the extra driving outside the park, this is THE place to stay. We got a great rate online but when we got to the front desk to check in, they informed us that the rate had gone down and that they were giving us the lower rate. What service! After all taxes and fees for 2 adults and 2 beds we paid $106 for 1 night. The room was clean, quiet with a comfortable bed and everything in working order. We were on the 2nd floor and had to maneuver stairs with suitcases but it was not a problem for us and I'm sure they have an elevator somewhere. We asked for recommendations on dinner and they sent us to Jimmer's literally in the next block so walkable. Jimmer's was great; see that review. The free breakfast was OUTSTANDING! Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese, ham (no bacon), make your own waffles with whip cream & Nutella; fabulous! They also had the standards, e.g., cold cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, muffins, toast, coffee, tea, juice, milk. I'm sure I'm missing some items as they had quite the spread; all included in the room rate. There was 1 person dedicated to refilling items and keeping the area clean. We could not have asked for better service or accommodations. I wish we would have stayed here for all 3 nights in the area. Cannot recommend it enough!!
Hospitality Is something you only appreciate when you have nowhere to stay. Lucky me! By some miracle i had kept the Best Western Turquoise Inn's phone number on my speed dial so when i found some of my plans and "you can stay with us anytime" promises falling through, I said a prayer and hit the speed dial.I explained what had happened, when i needed the room, and abracadabra, it was booked. Best Western knows how to look out for its guests and they really did a fabulous job by me.But more than that, the Turquoise Inn is a Cortez 'lady', she is always turned out to the nines, house proud as we used to say, and whatever little extra you may need, they'll try to help you. My forecast is for more trips to Cortez, next time I'll be staying with The Queen of Main Street.
The suite was great, everyone had a bed. The breakfast is also welcome, standard breakfast items, with something for everyone. The staff was friendly and welcoming with suggestions of when to see which attractions due to weather. We will make the Best Western Turquoise our destination for the 4-corners area. Good parking and the hotel is close to off site amenities like grocery, laundry and dining.
you know how to tell a good hotel--when you hate to leave! the staff felt like family after a few days! room was clean and quiet. the breakfast was great. they have a green chile sauce for the potatoe that was just spicy enough to get your interest, but not burn your mouth. Great job!
Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nicely redone. Petroglyphs replicas in the floor tile. Gift shop with local Native American items. Within minutes to Mesa Verde. Located on the main highway coming into Cortez
Very convenient location so you can walk to shops and restaurants. Rooms are very clean and there is a nice outdoor pool. Staff at the main desk are pleasant and very helpful. Friendly staff! Breakfast is varied and well-maintained by a lovely gentleman. He's helpful and welcoming. Only complaint I have is that you can hear every footstep from the room up above. We happened to have some people that started pacing very early one morning. Since this is a heavily traveled town, the room was somewhat pricey. Location and time of year influenced the cost.
I stay at the Cortez best western every time I go there mainly for the very friendly, helpful staff , they are by far the best ones I have ever dealt with. They will accommodate me the best way that they can. the rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast is very good with lots to choose from
We stayed in a suite which had two full size TV's, one in the seating room with refrig, sink, microwave. The beds were so comfortable and air conditioner was the best on the whole ten day trip. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. My husband thought the breakfast eggs were the best of all the hotels we stayed on this trip.
The hotel is very close to town centre for dining out. The food market just across the street is convenient. The hotel room is clean and feels comfortable. The breakfast was very poor, which is also the average standard in this country.
Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Awesome pet area with grass. Most hotels in this are dont have grass and if your dogs are picky them this is the place to go. The rooms are also accommodating to pets and the linens were clean.
We settled on this place as a central location for us to explore the 4 corners country of Colorado; our stay was 4 nights, arriving on a Sunday and leaving on Thursday. It turned out to be perfect for our purpose, and it was a nice quiet place to stay to boot! We visited Mesa Verde Park, 4 corners, Canyon of the Ancients, and Aztec New Mexico during our stay; and this hotel was perfect to use as a "headquarters". There was a fine variety for breakfast in the mornings, and 3 good restaurants within about 2 minutes walk of the hotel. If I return to this area of Colorado again,, I will make it a point to stay here again.
I love BW. But this place was one of the best places I've stayed. Nice rooms, helpful staff and great location. We were upgraded at check in which was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and a wonderful retreat at the end of the day. Staff was kind and helpful.
We stayed here for one night to visit Mesa Verde. It was a 2 bedrooms suite, clean and comfortable beds. The hotel is a little old in some area. The breakfast was very good. No elevator and we have to carry the luggage up the stair. The hotel is on the main road, heading toward the Mesa Verde direction. All the restaurants and shops are also on the same road.
Our suite was really nice. Plenty of space. Everything clean. The complementary brakfast was good. Most evenings we has a session in the spa which can have more than ten people in it. Easy access on the ground floor. The staff took great care of us.
Lots of competition in Cortez. For attention they have expensive Sony Jumbotron road side sign and landscape.. Nice beds, clean and new looking carpet. Second floor has outdoor stairs. Some rooms are for pets. The next town in any direction is a good hour away. Mesa Verde Park is only five miles.
This hotel was a great. It is an older style hotel that has been nicely updated. The bed was comfortable. In most hotels of this style the soap for the shower is half a credit card size shaving. This one was a decent size for a shower. The staff was great, very knowledgeable of the area and recommended some fantastic places for dinner. Lots of variety at breakfast with a cute gift shop attached. We were traveling with our dog and there was a great grass area in the center where she could catch up on local news and do her business. It was clean, other visitors were kind and cleaned up after their pets. We would absolutely stay here again.
We had a large room with plenty of towels and a very comfortable bed. The only problem with our stay here was that the hotel had two tour buses and that caused a traffic jam for breakfast. The tours were not noisy so we had a peaceful night. Breakfast area was very crowded as both tours were trying to leave early. This hotel is close to Mesa Verde National Park. The town also features some interesting murals and local museums.
The staff went overboard for our stay. We stayed in a suite, we had three of us. We had a bedroom, bathroom with sink inside, sink outside. Living area, with couch that made into a bed, with a sink, fridge and microwave. Each room had their own tv and air conditioner. Our bedroom had a fireplace. This was a perfect setup for us as we had three adults in the room. The bed was great, not too hard, not too soft. Lots of pillow options. We were up stairs right across the yard from the mountain fountain, which we used for a back drop for pre wedding family photos. Along with the fire place in the room. Perfect setup for our three days, staff was just wonderful in explaining the sites, local resturants and where to find things we needed at the last minute for the wedding. Hotel is not new, but has been updated and they did a great job at it. Would stay here again if ever in the area. We stayed in the far side of the hotel. parking was to the rear of the hotel, but very lighted parking lot. We left very early every day so we never got to use the breakfast area, but it was large and they do have a gift shop with local made items and jewelry. Grassy area by the fountain with some outside table and chairs. Room was very quiet, but you could here TV's in the other room when they were on, AC was a little loud when on, but worked great. We have stayed at other Best Westerns and this was not our first choice, but since they had a suite with a separate bedroom, we choose to stay here and wow, we are glad we did and the price was great for us. Perfect location for hiking, site seeing and a wedding.
We love this Best Western, I wish all Best Western were like this one. The staff are very helpful, dressed in nice uniforms, very professional, very clean. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable
We spent 4 nights at this hotel while exploring southwest Colorado. This is an older hotel which is clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and courteous. The 2 queen bedroom is average size but not large enough to leave our suit cases open. The bath area (tub/shower, lavatory and toilet) was very small and cramped with no ventilation. The breakfast area was good size and well organized, the breakfast had scrambled eggs with sausage, potatoes, with hot and cold cereal, toast, muffins, bagels and some fruit. Except the bath area this was a nice hotel.
All rooms face to the outside of the building. Judging from the crank-out single pane window in the bathroom, this motel is an older structure that could have been built as recently as in the 60's. The stairwells are heavily soiled from many years of traffic and could do with a muriatic acid wash to clean them up and a coat of sanded paint to lend safe friction under foot and a much more inviting appearance, as this is the first thing an occupant sees up close when ascending to the upper level. There is visible attention on the other hand to keeping the rooms looking presentable and clean inside. Furnishings are in keeping with the price for the room. I was not bothered by any noise from the other occupants, and did avoid taking a bottom floor for that reason. It was a welcome change from other motels to see that the shower faucet had a water saving flow control with a rain-type shower head. Hot breakfast, swimming pool and heated jacuzzi are among the amenities included in the price of $107 + tax.
We stayed one night, and our room was comfortable and clean. However, our room was also slightly noisy, as it was on the ground floor next to the car park and we could also occasionally hear our neighbours staying above us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which was very pleasant!
Very nice hotel and night lady at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant Latosha made checking in late easy and quick she helped us with finding things to do in the area. Breakfast was ok except the young man was very rude didn't act like he wanted to help us he was in the kitchen complaining the whole time we were their. The lady in the gift shop was nice .
We have stayed at this property 2 times now over the past 2 years when visiting family in the area, and enjoyed each stay. In our experience, the staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast good with much variety both hot and cold, pool and indoor hot tub great to have available, the grounds are pleasant, and rooms just right. First stay was a regular Queen bed room, the second in a King suite with jetted tub in master bedroom. Really liked the suite with all the amenities. We will stay here again.
We got a queen bed suite and was a really big room that worked perfect for our family. Nice comfortable beds , we were close to the breakfast area with some patio tables right outside our room. We were close to restaurants and stores.
My husband and I, along with two friends from Austria, enjoyed a lovely time in Cortez at the BW Turquoise Inn and Suites. The staff were so welcoming. The room was clean and bright. We especially liked the pool, and although we didn't try the hot tub, it looked inviting. Breakfast was huge!! It included both hot and cold items for anyone's taste in the a.m. Thank you.
Great location, decent breakfast, reasonable cost. Our room had vinyl flooring which is great for cleaning up spills, etc. The pool is a welcome respite from a long road trip. They have an indoor jetted pool/tub - we didn't go in because it was always really full. We were able to walk to a number of restaurants, and a market across the street. An interior courtyard with grass was great for our little dog to run after a ball - a little small for a big dog.
This motel is an older property, but it has been updated and well maintained. Our room was a little small, but clean and comfortable. There was a nice variety at breakfast. The motel is located on the Main Street in Cortez and is convenient to all things downtown.
This is a wonderful hotel! It was clean and comfortable, and the employees are very kind and helpful. Shout out to Trisha for being so welcoming and friendly! Our suite had 2 Queens, with a separate sitting room and a pull out couch- perfect for families. The breakfast options were amazing and everything tasted good. We loved staying here so much we decided to stay an extra day! Great place to stay.
We stayed here for two nights while we visited Mesa Verde. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast offerings were diverse and plentiful. I can not say enough about how wonderful the staff was at this location. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. One of the best hotel experiences we had during our summer vacation.
We had an extended family group here. The rooms, pool, and breakfast offerings were comfortable. The Breakfast room was a bit crowded, but appreciated the overflow outdoor seating for a crowded morning. Our suites were a little inconveniently placed on the other side of the hotel from the regular rooms that the rest of the group were in. We had a little dog with us too and he was welcome as well.
Hotel room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Fridge, coffee and cable television. The wifi was strong. Friendly staff- very accommodating. Great location - near by restaurants, gas station and grocery store.
Great place to stay and enjoy life, one of the best Inn's we have stayed at during our 15 years of retired life. Strongly recommend if you wish to be taken care of by a group of professional and caring individules.
The hotel has a great breakfast hot tub and laundry facility which was good after ten days of traveling. The room is very comfortable and renovated nicely with a desk & three chairs. The lobby is charming and there is a gift shop with nice southwestern items.
Excellent place to stay if you plan on visiting Mesa Verde National Park. The hotel offers everything you expect from a Best Western - a nice room with internet access, a pool, and a good breakfast. Best Western is my favorite chain overall and I will continue to use them wherever I can. A special thank you to Trisha and Eva who made my stay great; they both went out of there way to be helpful during my stay.
Very nicely updated best western, stay at many, one of the nicest. Great breakfast, awesome staff. Very nice location, walk to dinner. Downtown Cortez offers a few good venues for food , we tried a couple, and were not disappointed thanks!
This is a courtyard-style motor hotel, where the front of the suites face into a small courtyard. The bedroom faced a small side street and I didn't notice any street noise. Kind of an interesting waterfall feature in the courtyard. The coolest feature was the very large indoor jetted pool. (Too big to be a hot tub.) The jetted pool was great for relaxing sore muscles. The Two Queen Suite was nice with very fresh interior finishes. The living room was large with a sofa, desk, TV, and a console containing a mini-refrigerator, microwave and wet bar. There was a lavatory inside the bathroom, and also one just outside. In the wall was a fold out ironing board and iron. The bedroom had a separate TV and a chair in the corner. The full breakfast was nice. They had what seemed to be a specialty. A crock pot with Colorado-Made Santiago's Green Chile. If I ever pass through the area again, I will plan my trip to stop here. Especially since it is a relatively short drive to Moab.
We stayed here for 3 nights in a suite room with a separate bedroom. It was very comfortable with one of the best beds on our trip. The staff are helpful and have done a good job making the property look nice. The morning breakfast was also very good. We will stay here again when back in Cortez.
Loved how the room was set up, it obviously had been remodeled recently and no carpet which was awesome. The sofa bed was in the front room and had its own television which was nice for the kids. Had a very good breakfast as well. Lots of amenities close to the hotel, grocery stores, restaurants, etc.
Stayed here for access to Mesa Verde National Park. The front desk was very friendly and quick to check us in. The front desk even registered me for the $20 cash card special that was going on. I was greeted and thanked for being a BW member. Being a gold member didn't get me much though as our room, while on the 2nd floor, was facing the parking lot and main road in Cortez. In spite of that, it was very quiet and I got a great night's sleep. The front desk made good recommendations for dining places. Down side was breakfast. The eggs were runny and didn't seem quite done. The potatoes didn't look done as well. The waffles were very good though. The sink was inside the bathroom area, making it difficult for two people to get ready at the same time. There was no fan in the bathroom and the window in there had no shade so that the morning sun shined in and might wake you up.
Super clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was much nicer than most hotel offerings. Staff was great. Second floor room was quite. Great location if you're visiting the park. Two blocks to what may be the world's best Mexican restaurant.
We stayed one night here in an accessible room while on vacation. The room was large and comfortable. Everything was clean and nice. The location was great. The breakfast was good. what more could one want. We would stay here again.
We stopped in Cortez on our way down to New Mexico. We were treated so well, the room was so quiet and the breakfast was so good we stayed again on our way home. We are Best Western people and this is one of the best. Thanks!
Best Western doesn't disappoint yet again. Our room was good size, clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Nothing over the top, but what you would expect from a BW property. They also offer a very good breakfast to get you going in the morning.
I can't remember the last time I stayed at a Best Western and I didn't expect much except for a small, clean room and a mediocre breakfast for budget-friendly lodging. I was quite surprised that the room was a well appointed one bedroom suite with 2 comfy queen beds. I appreciated the kitchen counter area with sink, coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The sofa was the most comfy but it was nice to have someplace to sit and relax other than the beds. The extra bathroom sink located outside the bathroom door meant my husband and I could get ready at the same time and not be in each other's way. The continental breakfast was beyond continental and I appreciated having so many choices. It was nice to see gluten free options and I was hoping to see almond milk offered. Overall a very pleasant stay and I will definitely look at BW hotels in the future.
Went fishing to Cortez this past weekend, I've stayed at Best Western terquois inn before when I was working in the area last year and I was so impressed with the friendly employees at the hotel, they made me feel right at home and gave me a very reasonable rate
This is a lovely property, an older facility updated but still maintaining the small town feel with very friendly and helpful staff and the Mexican style interior cool courtyard with grass and a waterfall. Request a courtyard room! But the big surprise is the breakfast....huge! Have not seen the variety and options like this in hotels twice the size! And be sure to try the homemade chile sauce for the eggs.
The staff were amazing, all very friendly !!! The room was large. The bed was really comfortable. Very clean property. Breakfast was a very large assortment of items. I thought I lost my cell phone and the staff were very helpful in helping me locate it (in my car). Very close to Mesa Verde National Park. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.
Large, clean room, friendly staff, yummy breakfast & fast WiFi. Was in a great location in town (make sure you go eat at Main st Brewery & Once upon a sandwich!) 10mins drive to Mesa verde National park.
Very nice hotel for the money. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The entire place appeared to be clean and well cared for. Our room was large, clean, well stocked with coffee etc. OH, one of the few hotels we found with in room coffee maker :) Lots of channels on the TV, the bed slept very well. All around great place to stay.
Our stay started with very friendly and professional check-in staff. We've been BW members for years and so had accumulated a lot of points. The woman checking us in noticed our points total and said we were eligible for a free night. We've never had this offer before, so we accepted with pleasure. Our stay was excellent. With a free room that was clean and comfortable, we weren't looking for short-comings, so just enjoyed this nice surprise. We'll stay here again when in the area.
. We arrived at this hotel on a day of rain and snowy driving, the hotel was warm and welcoming. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly making us feel very welcome. Our room was large and comfortable.
The Turquoise Inn has all newly renovated rooms, and everything is very clean and comfortable. The staff is very professional, welcoming, and they all provide great service whenever anything is needed!
I've stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years for business and pleasure and the staff, room and service are always very satisfactory. I always feel very welcomed and special requests are always accommodated 'with pleasure'.
The tub fit 2 and it was in the King bedroom. It had the bathroom with shower and toilet separate from the bedroom so our child didn't have to enter our room to use the bathroom or shower. It was a perfect set up and it was in between the living room and bedroom. The bedroom had a real door, unlike the Residence Inn King suite that had french doors with a huge gap. Alot of the LaQuintas have that same dumb french door in their suites. The breakfast was also nice and we stayed also at the one in Durango and like this one better. I'd passing this way again we will stay here and in this type of suite. Don't go to farm fresh bistro if they recommend, not great.
This Best Western is losing the race against time and competition. It's very conveniently located for visiting Mesa Verde National Park, and the rooms are large. But the "lick-and-a-promise" remodeling (boasted on its website and its electronic sign) didn't fix what's needed. This is an old fashioned park-outside-your-door motel with two stories. Tiny bathrooms don't have any ventilation, except a small window you wouldn't want to touch. Not enough electric outlets near the bed for charging devices. Poor lighting. Installing tile floors in the room was probably a good thing (replacing carpet, no doubt), but the room feels less-than-welcoming. Thin doors to the outside are "secured" with a small chain and a peephole. Breakfast is standard, and OK, but "hot" water for beverages was a euphemism. All staff we encountered were welcoming and friendly and helpful. But I'd stay elsewhere in the future.
The room was fairly large, and seemed to have been recently redone. It was quite chilly though, no matter how high we set the thermostat on the heater in our room. The front desk staff was pretty helpful, but breakfast was just full of staff being loud and kind of rambunctious. It was a bit off-putting.
We just randomly chose this hotel for a one night stay. We were VERY pleased. Front desk upgraded us to a suite which had just been renovated. It was great. Best and quietest night's sleep we have had in a hotel
A nice clean hotel in Cortez with a very good breakfast. A good location for seeing the Anasazi Cultural Center and other National Parks and monuments. Mesa Verde National Park is excellent. Would stay there again if in Cortez.
We got in late but were treated very well. Anything that we needed, they provided even when we needed a can opener for a food item we had. The gift shop was closed but opened for us anyway. So friendly and helpful.. Would definitely stay there again!
King Suite with a fireplace, at a great price. We stayed for business, early morning trail runs and visited Mesa Verde. Turquoise Inn was convenient to everything we like doing. If you like Mexican food, Gustavo's, only 3 blocks west, is the BEST.
We have often spent a night in Cortez traveling between NM & Utah and always stay at the BW Turquoise Inn. We find it very comfortable and most convenient to walk to several good eating and drinking establishments in this nice little town. The inner courtyard is especially refreshing in the summer. The staff is always very friendly & helpful. Rooms are very clean & comfortable.
We called and got a last minute reservation as we were traveling. When we arrived the gentleman at the front desk was so very accommodating. The room was in excellent shape. Very clean. The unit was very up to date. This was much appreciated. excellent breakfast. Check out was very easy and all the staff were friendly and had a smile on their face. We will definitely stay there again
Good location right off the highway in Cortez (we came in from Bluff, UT); easy checkin, friendly staff; room was clean and comfortable, nice beds, good sleep. No frills breakfast self service, disposable cups, plates, plastic cutlery- bring your own if you are on a mission to reduce singly use plastic (like me). Very good value one night in low season. Next stop- Durango.
Very helpful and considerate staff. Proactive and friendly. Hotel was clean and everything was in good working order. Location was central to a number of parks and recreation areas. Parking was secure and there was plenary of parking available.
This is a great place to stay in Cortez. The King Suite was perfect for our needs, friendly front desk service in both making our reservation and seeing to our needs during our stay. Comfortable, modern rooms, excellent bed, high marks all around. Great full breakfast. I will stay here again when we are coming through Cortez. Great town.
Hot water was unavailable on day of departure. It was 18 degrees outside and nothing but cold water. Received an unsatisfactory resolution. If I would have known there would not be any hot water I would not have stayed at this hotel. Instead I got a room at a discount and a very cold shower.
BestWesternTQMI, Manager at Best Western Turquoise Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Daniel A, Thank you for your feedback. You were with us for 2 nights and the lack of hot water was an issue that had just occurred the morning you were scheduled to leave. Our maintenance man got it taken care of as quickly as he could. When you checked out we gave you 25.00 off your 2nd night stay plus 2000 bonus Best Western Rewards points. I have also issued you another 5000 Best Western rewards points. Thank you Tiffany Neely General Manager
All staff-members were pleasant, cheerful and friendly. Clean and comfortable room. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The parking lot was free of litter and safe. The grounds are well maintained. Ground floor room had no noise from above.
Always clean and quiet, with one of the best complimentary breakfasts you will ever find! Employees are always knowledgeable, professional and polite! The new, upgraded rooms are a quietly held secret and they awesome!
I have stayed at this hotel before while visiting Mesa Verde National Park. It's just a short drive to the park. I also recommend visiting the Anasazi Heritage Museum while here. They have remodeled this hotel since I stayed last. The rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. I would have given this hotel an excellent rating but it's an older hotel. I have to give a special shout-out to the staff. From check-in to check-out they were all fantastic. Breakfast is served here. It was nothing fancy but it served its purpose by starting my day off right. It's rare that I leave a hotel with a smile on my face, this one made that happen. Nice job staff, I will be back. Keep it up!
We have stayed here before and like the convenience to Mesa Verde and City Market across street. But the comfortable suites are lovely. You have a good nights sleep (although the TV station list was tempting!) then breakfast in morning before you leave for another day of traveling or touring.
Heading to Mesa Verde and stopped for the night. Was upgraded to a suite as a diamond member. Got some great recommendations for an early morning walk. Nice choices of resturants in town for 2 vegetarians. Not a problem with the hotel or breakfast.
This hotel was wonderful for our needs. Brittany at the desk was very helpful, polite and friendly. I really liked the set up of the hotel--we could back right up to our door to load/unload which is always a plus. The large room appeared to be recently remodeled with a wood laminate floor, fridge, and very comfy bed. I will stay here again the next time I'm in the area.
This hotel management ensures that it's exterior, common areas and guest rooms are consistently up-to-date, clean and well-maintained. I have stayed here numerous times and the staff is great at making me feel at home and goes the extra mile to make my stay a pleasant one.
This is a very clean and comfortable motel with a super good breakfast menu, food was fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable with spacious rooms. Great location, and easy access from the interstate. I can highly recommend this place.
there is always a fun staff at the front desk, a good hot and cold breakfast which is included the the room rate, comfortable and clean rooms, very nice location themed art, unusual in motels, and, most important, dog friendly.
My experience was excellent and would recommend this hotel to others! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They recommend local places to eat and visit and their recommendations were right on. The hotel was clean and was a great experience.
This hotel has clean, comfortable rooms, that have been recently remodeled. The hotel is conveniently located near downtown Cortez and it's within walking distance to our favorite in town restaurant. The breakfast is fresh and has some good options for all types of dietary restrictions. The staff is friendly. Overall good value.
The check in desk lady was very friendly and had a great smile. She up-graded us to a suite. The breakfast was about you would expect EXCEPT they had some EXCELLENT green chili to add to the eggs and sausage..
This BW had very clean rooms and a great tasty breakfast. The staff was very polite and helpful and answered questions we had. We would stay there again. We were locked out of our rooms and they explained if was from the fall back and offered to re-key our keys to get back in.
Nice clean place to stay with very friendly sweet staff. We were in town for third season deer hunt. The staff are very friendly helpful people. The continental breakfast was the best hotel provided breakfast we have ever eaten.
My wife and I planned to visit Mesa Verde National Park and this was a good choice for a place to stay. It is comfortable and in a good location to see the sites in Cortez, and is close to Mesa Verde.
Very clean, beautiful suite room, fireplace, 2 TV's, very comfortable bed, quiet room and good breakfast to start the day. The hotel lobby was also clean and lovely. Staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend this hotel.
We had a problem with noise next door & were promptly moved to a quieter location. Fortunately it was shoulder season so a room was available. Thanks so much to Trisha for her prompt & friendly service.
You owe it to yourself to try this hotel - it has been remodeled lately and the rooms are great - clean, well cared for and great amenities (fast internet, fridge, large shower, coffee..). And the breakfast that is offered in the morning is GREAT, as opposed to some of the other 'continental breakfasts' that are offered by the competition. Location is great with really good Thai and Indian restaurants a couple of blocks away and Mesa Verde 10 miles down the road.
I spent four nights in a King Suite at the Best Western-Cortez on business. The room was extremely comfortable and the staff was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located. It is about 4.5 miles from Phil's Trailhead where you'll find excellent mountain biking trails! I also walked to the town center for dinner at the Farm Bistro. It was a half a mile. Lovely town with friendly people.
Stayed here in September, with my brother and his wife. We were upgraded to a suite each! They were both spacious and very clean with all amenities. Jaime on reception was very helpful and suggested La Casita for dinner; we walked there and had a fantastic meal. Breakfast was good; although the room was quite busy. Would definitely stay there again!
Wonderful hotel. Best Best Western Hotel we have ever stayed in. All staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Front desk called our room after we got there to see if all ok with our room! Tricia made sure we got a ground floor room for our stay! The girls at the breakfast were so helpful and pleasant! Great Breakfast! Thank you!
The lowest subpar Best Western we've stayed in, at a MUCH HIGHER price! Over $160+ for 2 people and a pet! Guest below us complained about the office chair rolling on the floor and while outside, people clearly drunk, yelling obscenities at each other. Just an overall disappointment with THIS Best Western compared to the numerous Best Westerns we've stayed in, during our cross country travels.

Pretty good hotel with point redemption. As diamond member, was told we got upgraded to king suite. Room was on 2nd floor, without elevator, so took some effort to get our luggage up. There was also lots of leaves on hallway floor. Breakfast was good. We had 1 night stay before going to Mesa Verde NP the next day. This was good place for that 1 night stay.
This was the best hotel stay ever. In all areas of services provided. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable --a little hard since I sleep on a waterbed (yes, a waterbed). If I wasn't used to a soft bed, this bed would probably have been just fine. We had a gas fire place in our room --romantic! The staff were super helpful and professional. This was a great experience even though, we were in town for a funeral.
Today is October 17th At first this place seemed to be nice until i saw that there were literally bed bugs crawling on the first matress. I did a little inspection looking for my safety I found a dead bug appearing to be a gnat was sticking on a pillow. This place is straight up disgusting. I stayed in room 401 The first mattress was the worst, seems like they haven't changed those sheets nor washed them. Please for all the people that stayed here check your beds. Horrible experience DISGUSTING!
A very nice and affordable place to stay near Mesa Verde National Park. The staff stand out in being friendly, helpful, and a starting your day with a smile. I would stay there again in the future and recommend it.
Fabulously comfortable, great experience. Used mobile check in and check out, which was very easy and convenient. The complimentary breakfast was REALLY good. Biscuits and gravy along with those eggs and home fried potatoes? Yep. Waffles. Of course. Making your own chocolate waffles, or waffles with blueberries, and/or pecans, and or strawberry topping or real whipped cream topping...WOW! Really nice! The rooms were super clean and decoratively very nice. Wish I'd realized they had a year-round, indoor sauna pool! Just have the best things to say about our stay...but lastly, the FIREPLACE....loved it!
All of the staff were quick to respond, funny, joyful, and very knowledgeable. Breakfast had the best green chili that I put on eggs, biscuits, hash browns, and ate by itself! We stayed for business and were treated very well.
I can't imagine staying at any other hotel in Cortez. The Best Western Turquoise Inn has a great location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and a delicious and extensive breakfast every morning. If there is any downside to this hotel it would be that, during busy times, the parking situation and the availability of seating in the breakfast room can be difficult. I highly recommend the Best Western Turquoise Inn when visiting or passing through Cortez, Colorado.

Sundevilgrad: THANK YOU!!! I will share your wonderful comments at our morning staff meeting. It will be a great start to the day for our great team! Hope to see you again soon!
2 couples traveling across several states. This was a very nice and clean hotel. The only thing was, the pool was drained and it seemed like it was not going to be used for the summer. The next day, I went on there website, it shows an indoor pool or hot tub of some sort but not sure where it was.
Well kept property. Friendly staff. Convenient location. Good wifi. Room seemed newly decorated. We were able to stay in one of their suites. A separate living room and bedroom. A fire place in the bedroom. Two tvs . Would stay again next time in Cortez. The breakfast was exceptional.
The hotel staff was excellent, they up graded our room to a suit with a fire place for being diamond members. The staff was very knowledgeable about restaurants in the area with good choices . This hotel was in a good location to visit monument valley. I would recommend this hotel for convenience.
We came to this hotel because it offered suites and it was recently remodeled. We loved the breakfast each morning, a new flavored waffle was offered each day. The breakfast area had more tables than most places we have stayed. The breakfast Staff is friendly and making sure we were happy and had plenty of food available. The rooms were beautifully remodeled. They have an inner court with a waterfall with Chairs for relaxation. They have a gift shop with crafts made by Native Americans and very friendly staffs that are knowledgeable with the items they sell. The front desk has lemon aid, which was a treat. We will return.
This motel is well located in Cortez. The staff was very accommodating, especially the breakfast crew. They went out of their way to provide a better than usual breakfast experience. Unfortunately, due to its age, the room was noisy due to road noise, but especially due to the sounds of folks overhead.
Room was small and in need of remodeling. Bed was too soft. Plumbing fixtures functioned okay but need to be replaced. Breakfast was adequate and served well, but could have included more healthy options such as whole wheat bread, etc. I expect more from Best Western than I got at this facility.
Well, we got in early, but tired and they worked to find a room that was ready for us - that was a pretty big deal. I have been to other places that are sticklers for the "moment" you can check in. So - huge thank yous! The room was spacious and clean and nicely appointed. There was a nice sized fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker and a tub - everything I could want. There are two pools. A large outdoor pool with lots of lounging areas for the sunbathers. And the indoor pool was like a grotto. Kids loved it - and so did the older folks. There is a handicap lift to help people who need help - get in and out. I have not seen that before. The front desk staff was very welcoming. And - there are snacks! When we checked in, there was a fruity drink with bananas in it - very refreshing. And chips and salsa. Breakfast was very good. They had the usual things like fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, sausage patties. There were also over hard eggs - instead of the ubiquitous scrambled eggs. AND an excellent green chile sauce. Not too spicy but not too gentle. You felt like you were indeed in the southwest. Nice little gift shop and you are close to downtown restaurants (walking distance). I had a great visit here.
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, easy to find, very enjoyable and relaxing, even though we were just passing thru on this trip , we will for sure stay at this hotel again, when we travel or visit mesa verde or the casino
Upon seeing a crowded parking lot and an average looking building, I expected a mediocre experience. Surprisingly, our second floor room was spacious, clean and quite comfortable. Bright bathroom lighting and plenty of mirrors, along with quality toiletries amplified the experience. The breakfast area offers more choices than similar chains and adds a nice touch with locally themed food. An affordable gift shop is a bonus.
Hotel was nice, pretty clean. Employees were friendly and helpful. Room was a little small. We needed a comfy sofa or chair to relax in. Bathroom was small but clean. Breakfast was good. Would have liked a bigger variety of pastries. We had a nice stay.
Of all the properties we stayed in, in our recent trip covering Southern Colorado this property was the best one. for the price in my opinion was very good. A large flat screen tv with full tv guide, two large Queen beds with a choice of pillows, large comfy chair with a footstool and a desk. Coffee machine with capsules and very good coffee, extra capsules supplied at reception. Fridge and a microwave. Very comfy beds and room cleanliness spot on, nice shower and bath combo, only thing was the sink was in the main bedroom. Yes it is on the design of a motel, but was also very popular and was full most night we were there, very pleasant receptionist who said hello every time we passed by. Reasonable breakfast although they did a lot of chilli, not our taste being British but we got by with cereal, eggs which were cooked fresh until they put chilli powder on them, yoghurts and toast. Although on the main road never heard the traffic and I am a very light sleeper. It also had an indoor and outdoor pool plus jacuzzi.
We were pleasantly surprised. Everyone we had contact with were very helpful. The breakfast was amazing. Tons of choices. The lay-out of the hotel was very appealing. Didn't realize we were in the middle of Cortez. If in Cortez don't hesitate to book a room.
Best Western in Cortez Colorado, very nice and clean hotel, friendly staff, good location, parking lot looks small, I think is limited. Good internet, ok breakfast. Outside swimming pool. Inside Hot Tub. Worth to stay
This hotel was a great find and the rooms we had was very nice. Clean large King Suite was a deal and the location is great. Fortunately we have a handicap permit so parking was great but it looked limited. Breakfast was great as well and was a thumbs up. Would definitely book here again and would be sure to get ground floor.
Good price and a great location right at the gateway to several national parks in Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. However, the rooms carpeting needed to be cleaned or replaced and the bathrooms were very small the door barely cleared the sink and toilet. The windows in the bathroom were the old crank to open type I used to encounter in older hotels. The rooms overall could be updated. However, the staff was very friendly and knowledgable and checking in and out was a breeze. The price is also a good value considering where the hotel is placed on the map if you are vacationing. Just be prepared for small bathrooms that look like they were designed for kids, not adult, if you stay.
Close to Masa Verde so quick and easy access. The room was clean and neat. The beds at BW as always seems comfortable. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, did not have to wait for anything. I would again recommend this BW Hotel and because it is so close to Masa Verde, I would defiantly stay here again.
This facility is well located and a short drive to many of the National Parks. Rooms were very clean, well appointed with Wi-Fi and good breakfast. Very comfortable 3-day stay. Front desk staff were helpful and very friendly.
Great value! Pricing is excellent, location is super, and the rooms are neat and clean. The front desk lady (Brittany) was extremely helpful and very pleasant to work with. She did a super job and made us comfortable and welcomed!
clean and friendly. Best value by far of any of the hotels we stayed at in Grand Canyon country. Staff at reception was awesome. Cleaning staff was friendly too. room was great. We paid so much more for bad hotels in Flagstaff, this was a welcome surprise quality to cost ratio. Nice hotel. Worth it.
it rock.If I move it would here. The staff check us in early. Clean room and the staff were attentive. The city was as charming as the lovely staff.the pool was wonderful after hiking.the mesa verde.Did a mention what a wonderful beautiful staff
We have stayed here several times and find it conveniently located to nearby restaurants and other amenities. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to help, if needed. Although it is near the main road, it is reasonably quiet.
Clean, friendly, nothing that they don't have....great price!!! Convenient and easy drive to Mesa Verde. Staff is right there, ready to help. You won't be sorry! Pool, hot tub, great breakfast, wonderful gift shop.
Rooms were very nice, clean and updated. The night manager was very helpful and friendly. She let us know that there was a motorcycle wash and said that we could park our bike up front by the office in case it would rain. We had a very nice stay, room was GREAT , breakfast was awesome. Only one problem, some one decided to put a scratch in the gas tank on the motorcycle while it was parked overnight in front of the office. I called to see if they had camera's in the lot but they did not. You know how Harley owners are about their bikes!
This was our final overnight on our 5500 mile 26 day motorcycle road trip. We were recognized as returning guests at check-in and well treated as per our Diamond Rewards status. The breakfast experience was excellent including delicious scrambled eggs which were not over-cooked as is the case in most hotels.

I will admit that I was not expecting much from Cortez. After a long day of driving, the plan was to stay here before our next day jaunt to Mesa Verde. What a pleasant surprise! The jacuzzi spa was open until midnight, and it was just what I needed. I have never seen a more unique and unusual concept. It was big enough to fit the 3 of us with more than ample room to move around. The temperature was perfect. The jets were awesome. The whole concept was impressive. You will never find a more unique jacuzzi spa concept complete with a ripping waterfall cascade. Our rooms were amazing, and if you are going to Mesa Verde, this is the place to stay. The suite room had a queen bed and a separate room right inside the doorway with a pull out sofa bed. The queen bed room had a privacy door which in effect gave us 2 rooms for the price of one. The staff was courteous, kind, and helpful. We were treated well. We would definitely go back to this location. It was simply a pleasurable stay. The only issue I had was that it was the typical Best Western breakfast fare. Not very imaginative.

Hello Bluejay377, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and staying with us in the beautiful Mesa Verde area. Our awesome Jacuzzi is definitely a highlight to staying with us and we get so much feedback on it. If you're in the area again please come back and see us we would love to give you another wonderful experience and service you can count on. Thank you, Latrisha Hatch Assistant General Manager
This was a great choice for my family's trip to Mesa Verde. We stayed in one of the 2 Queen Suites that has a sleeper sofa in the separate living area. It was very nice to be able to sleep 5 family members comfortably. The location was perfect, right in the middle of town with lots of eating options within walking distance. The outdoor pool was nicely heated. We didn't try the indoor pool. The only negative we experienced was the Wi-Fi. When it worked it was great, but sometimes we had trouble connecting.
This hotel met our needs. We needed to leave early the next morning for an early tour of Mesa Verde. The breakfast was at 6:30 which allowed us time to get up there. The rooms were nice with plenty of space.
We had a great night, and the check in and check staff were spectacular! They did everything to make us feel comfortable and at ease. They made sure we had a ground floor. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.
The room was very large. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was just average. There was a covered upstairs porch. Wish we would have had more time to sit and enjoy that. I was surprised when I got home and checked my credit card and discovered a $30 charge. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company.
Good location and large room are the only positive mark here. Everything else is on the negative side. Very hard to find parking in the evening, both front and back. We stayed in the back in suite area, and people parked in un-organize fashion. Internet was non existing in room we stayed. Other rooms were on and off the whole time. Breakfast served by horrible staffs. Not sure because the hotel owner policy or staff members, but 30 minutes before breakfast time end, most of the foods were gone and did not see any re-supply.... at all. Ice maker in upstair was broke. Front door stuck, very hard to open with electronic keys. Bathroom light cover loose, making noise when open bathroom door. I am not picky when staying at hotel, but this one was the worst I see at BW brand, at this star level.
Adding the word "Suite" to your name or saying that the rooms were remodeled doesn't make this place anything more than a very tired third rate motel. Best Western seems interested in upgrading their reputation. However, this place does not do that. Our "upgraded" room included an ac that didn't work, a torn lamp shade, battered cheap wooden furniture and a total lack of style ... and oh yes -- very lumpy pillows. The outside area was poorly kept, the parking lot cracked and pot holed. The crowded breakfast room had the appeal of such a room in a factory and was next to a broken down indoor pool ... we went across the street to a Starbucks. On returning after dinner there was no space left to park. The lot was filled with cars, trucks and motorcycles. The clients seem to be a mix of tourists, transient workers and bikers. The only high note was the very friendly reception. There is NO reason to stay here. Cortez has several new, mid and upper range motels. Don't make the same mistake that I did. Nick

Our family stayed in this Best Western during our stay in Cortez. We were very pleased with our very spacious room with wooden floors. The room was very clean! We would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
The Cortez Best Western Turquoise Inn is clearly an acquired old roadside motel that has been purchased and renovated. If the price and ratings lead you to expect a typical BW experience, you will be sorely disappointed: the rooms, especially in the front part of the hotel, are just a step above Motel-6. Rooms have new furniture, pillow top mattresses, and some new tile/countertops in the bathrooms, but the doors are splintering (see photo), the under-window air-conditioning units are noisy, the outside walkways are a mess, and the cleaning crew must have been ordered to skimp at every opportunity. The seal on the bottle of complimentary mouthwash in our room had been broken and the bottle refilled, and the shampoo bottle had been refilled to the brim and was leaking out on the counter. And the mattress pad was dirty and badly stained (see photos). We didn't feel safe using anything in this room. Moreover, the hotel attracts a rowdy customer base--kids were running up and down the second floor walkways, and people were yelling at each other on the porches throughout the night. Several times kids banged loudly on our door, either mistaking it for their own or playing pranks. Parking is also very cramped and insufficient for the hotel--people had to park in every nook and cranny. And the TV remote only works from about 3 feet from the screen, though there are plenty of directTV channels if you want to get up and walk to the TV every time you want to switch channels. There is an outdoor pool tucked in the corner at the front of the hotel, an indoor jet-pool 'spa,' and a breakfast room. The free breakfast was ok, but not great. Hot items included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, and make-your own waffles. Juices, bananas and apples, a few breads and cereals, and a few kid-sized Danimals yogurts were the other choices. The staff was very friendly. There is a nice grass courtyard and fountain area off the breakfast room with rooms away from the parking lot. It looks newer than the rest so I'd recommend asking for a room there instead of the streetside ones. Having seen and visited other hotels in Cortez I'd definitely say this one is not in the top 5. Certainly not a typical Best Western.
Traveling with family, requested a suite and received a lovely large room. Enter into a sitting area with TV, fridge, micro, coffee maker, sofa sleeper and comfortable chair, also a desk area. Bath area between this room and the bedroom with 2 nice comfortable queen beds (nice large area, not crowded ) The bath area complete with a sink inside and one outside, nice touch. Linens nice for both bed and bath. Great shower head and lots of hot water. Nice amenities also Bath and Body Works. Breakfast area a little crowded, but lots of good and assorted food. Sitting areas both inside and outside on the patio. We really enjoyed sitting there. Our only complaint was that we had to climb the stairs to our room on the second floor. I am a Sr. citizen and when I go for 3 days I pack for 10, so was hauling around a heavy suitcase and ditty bag and other items necessary for my comfort.
Clean rooms and attentive Staff made our stay very comfortable. Good morning Breakfast and good coffee. Quiet room too. Located in a good part of town near restaurants. Great Authentic mexican food at Gustavo's restaurant. Easy access to Highway 160.
Spacious rooms, quiet, well appointed rooms. Warmly greeted at check in. Staff was very helpful. Beautiful water fall in courtyard. Enjoyed eating breakfast outside by the falls. Great complimentary breakfast
Good location in Cortez for access to Mesa Verde and Four Corners monument. Our 2 queen suite was comfortable and quiet. Don't arrive at breakfast too late or there won't be anything left. Seems they start shutting it down 15-20 minutes before official ending time. This is a decent hotel for the price.
Clean spacious room, bed AND pillow very comfortable. Very helpful and caring staff. Breakfast is good. 30 minutes from Durango and an hour or so from Telluride. Stayed at this hotel on a number of trips and will continue to do so in the future.
Room was very clean and was good for our needs. I got a good rate. Breakfast was included and good, standard Best Western. Friendly Staff. The hotel is old, but don't let that steer you away, like I said the room was clean. It is a 2 story hotel with no elevator, and one does not have to go through the lobby to get to your room. I guess one would call it an open air entrance to your room.. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was that I thought the common walk ways could be cleaner. I guess this could be difficult being outside. I would return and recommend this hotel. Close to several good restaurants.
This Best Western was perfect. I was traveling with other family members and had asked for rooms close together. They were next door to each other. There was a court yard just outside our rooms where my grandchildren could relax. They loved the pool although it was small. We all slept well in the beds. The A.C. worked very well and were quiet.
The front desk personnel as well as all the staff were friendly and helpful, especially tricia. The beds were great, it was clean. My grandkids loved the out door pool and we all loved the large in door hot tub, Good Breakfast. Good location to Mesa Verde National PARK. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.
Our room was clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable, except for the hide-a-bed (which is the nature of those beds). Great water pressure in the shower. I loved the inner courtyard for breakfast. It was very peaceful. Not something you usually expect for a hotel breakfast. My kids loved the hot tub. I think it is the biggest hotel hot tub I've ever seen. I would stay here again and I am getting really picky about hotels the more I travel.
We really enjoyed staying here. Everyone at the motel was was extra nice and friendly. We arrived early because of rain and were able to check in. The employees were extra friendly. I would recommend this place to any one.
On this Senior games trip we are also taking a mini vacation. Mesa Verde NM was our objective. In Cortez, CO., just six miles from the entrance to this Nat. Monument, is this property. Just right for what we needed. This is a National Monument that everyone should visit and put this property on your list of place to stay. We've been here both summer and winter. There are several good places to eat and all have great service. Also the Four Corners is not that far away.
the motel was great . everything was in order. But Trisha knows her stuff. I witnessed over and over again her giving guest information. She was spot on ... everything from a vegan menu restaurant to activities to a restaurant with a diverse menu. Thank you Trisha!!!
After my experience with a choice hotel in this area we called best Western and they had a room for us. We have stayed at this hotel befor. It has the best breakfast in town for a motel. Also very clean rooms and a very Great staff. Thank you for good people . I highly recommend this place.
Room was good, staff was very friendly, we didn't have a reservation some times you get better deals when you just walk in I wasn't too concerned considering there were several other hotels down the road. Good breakfast and a little awkward with only stairs no elevator but we servived! I'm sure if we asked someone would have assisted us. I was pleasantly surprised. No issues with the room.
The stairs to the outdoor pool are slippery. The hand rail of the outdoor pool is wobbly. My wife slipped and fell hitting her knee on stairs. Five days later her knee still hurts. The morning we checked out we went to the market across the street, when we came out, there was an ambulance near the pool pulling someone out on a stretcher. Now my family had just saw a father & his two boys heading to the pool, hopefully they weren't hurt. Maybe someone in the hotel had a natural crisis. The door to room 108 is very difficult to open, the door is jammed. As I turned the handle, I would have to drive my shoulder into the door to open it. The bathroom could be opened, but it couldn't be closed. The handle did not work. Which being on the first floor made me very uneasy about leaving belongings when we left the room. When we checked in we overheard that the hotel was full when the guest in front of us asked. Which why I didn't ask for another room.

Hello F5741QMjohnc, First off we are sorry to hear about your wife's knees and deeply apologize for her slipping. We had taken precautions and have laid down thicker grip tape on pool stairs and fixed the railing. No thank goodness that wasn't the reason for the ambulance being here (allergic reaction). Our maintenance staff has addressed the issues in the room, we thank you for bringing it to our attention. For not excessing you expectations and value you as costumer I have issued a credit to your account. Please contact me directly. Sincerely, Latrisha Hatch Assistant General Manager
Had a nice stay here. The room was very clean except it needed a mopping in one spot. Very good place to stay for Mesa Verde, near the center of town and easy to walk to shops and restaurants. Staff was extremely nice and the breakfast was a nice addition.
the staff at best western in Cortez Colorado is amazing it is the main reason that I stay there, although the rooms ,amenities ,food, location, outside and inside appearance, hot tub and pool is way nice as well I always enjoy my stay there
A nice motel with a friendly service. We had a big room that was comfortable. We had three problems: a. the Wifi didn't work ( there was some problem in the hotel ) - the second time it happens to us in the best western. b. One of the air conditions in the room made a lot of noise so we couldn't use it. c. One of the air filters in the bathroom was very dirty. Breakfast was nice and that;s it.

Wonderful people, very accommodating. We stay here every summer when visiting friends. Close to Mesa Verde National Park and Four Corners and a nice visit to Durango. Easy to book online for special discounts. Reservation desk very helpful to fill our special requests. Great breakfast and nice atmosphere!
Our family of 5 had very nice accommodations in a suite. The room was nicely appointed and felt newly remodeled. The breakfast had a good variety of food and the premises were clean. We would stay here again.
Everything about this hotel is a "A+".. newly remodeled hotel and very clean and well kept. Well worth the $$. Staff was amazing! Everyone went out of their way to make my stay great! Will definitely stay here again when back in Cortez!
We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the years. The staff has always been exceptional and along with the upgrades to the property, thus continues to be our choice to stay when in the area.
Good breakfast with a decent sized area. Our room had 2 queen bed with a sofa and small living room. The room was very clean. We arrived around 10:30 pm after a long drive. We wish we could have been there earlier to enjoy the pool.
My family really loved the suite we were in. It was very clean and had very comfortable beds. The breakfast provided was delicious. I would definitely stay here if I'm ever around the area again. Excellent overall service.
We typically stay at several motels on our way to our final vacation destination. This motel far exceeded the average "one night stay." The room was clean and modern, mattresses were firm, and after a hard day's travel, the motel was fairly quite, considering there were lots of families with younger children staying at the same time we were. The morning breakfast area was well stocked with full meal options and there were great restaurants well within walking distance.
The hotel was nice and clean. Rooms were spacious. Front desk was super nice. I would recommend getting to breakfast when the first open, it gets super busy. The indoor pool looked nice from a distance though I did not get in.
BW Turquoise Inn is located in Cortez, just 30 minutes from Mesa Verde NP. Hotel has large renovated rooms. Our standard room was very big and fully equipe with coffee machine and fridge. the a/c system was a little bit noisy. Hotel has a little outdoor pool to refresh from high Arizona temperature and a very nice indoor hot tube. There's also a laundry corner that comes in handy! Free hot continental breakfast according to BW standards
As I have said in previous post, Best Westerns are hit or miss. They blew me out of the water with this one. We showed up to a suite with 2 queens and a pull out couch. Very clean, nice decor, and very comfortable. Breakfast was also wonderful. The staff was attentive through the whole visit. The one concern was the back parking lot. It is not very well lit, and once we parked and got out, there was a guy laying against a car that was obviously not his. We could barely see him, and had to go get management. Still an amazing hotel but make sure you are aware back there.
We loved this hotel. Do not let the exterior fool you. We had a two queen, one sofa suite for a family of six. Much to our surprise there were two separate rooms, two tvs, three sinks and lots of room. Also there was outdoor seating to hang out. My daughter played her guitar near the waterfall. The pool was nice and cool. The indoor hot tub nice and relaxing. Nice free breakfast and super friendly staff! I highly recommend!!
When we arrived there was a problem with the reservation, and to add to the potential problem was the fact that the hotel was full. Well, Jamie the front desk person couldn't have been MORE helpful. He managed to " find us a room" and ease our worries. And we had booked two rooms. He handled it . We had 308 ( first floor), and I believe it was an upgraded room. It was wonderful. It is not a new hotel, and looks like it just recently became a BW property. Breakfast? Pretty darn good, and there were two folks that were constantly replenishing the items--it was very busy. They too, were most gracious and helpful. We reticently signed up for the BW rewards program. We are glad we did . IT was a pleasure staying there
The staff went above and beyond when we found ourselves broken down and no rental cars available in the area. They got us checked in super early and were so nice at a time that was so hectic and hard for us and our four kids. Great suite and great rate.
Rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet. Beds were extremely comfortable. Room was spacious and comfortable. Stayed in a suite and the jacuzzi tub was phenomenal. Beds were ever so comfy, providing us with a good nights sleep. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. It's worth paying a few dollars more for the comfort. The breakfast offerings was the best offered at any hotel I stayed in on my 7 day road trip through SW Colorado. I liked it so much that I tired to change my reservation from the hotel I was already booked into for next city I was going to, but that Best Western Turquoise Inn & Suites but it didn't have any vacancies. This chain will be the first one I look for on my next road trip.
The individual at the desk was very kind, humorous, and a pleasure to talk with. Checking in was very easy, and we were happy to have such expedient service. Our room was very nice; clean, spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was very nicely displayed, and there many choices. Our breakfast was very good.
Best Western is always my first choice to stay when out of town. They are always clean. The breakfast is always good. Friendly staff that care about their customers. They always try to accommodate you as to your room needs are concerns. Not much else to say. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Hotel staff was so helpful and so nice and kind! Breakfast was delicious....biscuits and gravy were amazing!! Gift shop is nice! Would stay again if in the area!! The hotel is being fixed up and it looks like work is progressing!
Nice room, good hot breakfast. The staff were pleasant and helpful. A little pricey but compared to others during our trip about average for the quality level. Pricing dependent on location. Good location, recommended stop.
I booked this hotel sight unseen for the last leg of our "let's explore Colorado" trip. I usually take the time to view images of a given hotel before I book. Not the case here. WHAT a nice surprise. While they are upgrading slowly but surely, it was the SIZE of this hotel that stood out for us. Great stopping point, & not too far from 4 Corners/Monument Valley.

We had a long drive and were so glad we booked the Turquoise Inn- Best Western in Cortez, Colorado. We loved our visit! The landscape and sunset and the mountains were beautiful. The rooms were roomy and comfortable. The staff was so kind. The breakfast was exceptional. We were ready to continue our journey. Cortez is very close to Mesa Verde National Park and we visited Chimney Rock National Landmark.
This hotel is centrally located, across the street from the city market, and a quick walk to the best bakery in town. Many eateries were within 3-4 blocks. Book ahead because the hotel frequently sells out during summer and numerous people were turned away by 4: p.m. Monday-Thursday the week I stayed. I'm sure the weekends would be as busy. Staff point out that the hotel had a million dollar renovation. The renovated part was obvious and the off-gassing was noticeable, but not intolerable. My room was a suite with 2 queen beds. Suite meaning bigger room as opposed to really spiffy experience. The fridge froze everything in it, but I considered myself lucky. Most others complained of a non-working fridge. The mattress was very comfortable, but the bedding was a bit thin and I felt like a light blanket would have made the night more comfortable. The bed and pillows were not overly firm. The tv in the living area did not work. However, the large screen in the sleeping area was quite sufficient for the news. The cable service provided infomercials, sports, a few programs and pay-per-view movies. The bathroom had a harsh fan that came on when the light switch was flipped. the fan sounded like someone was taking off at the airport. It created too much of a draft when showering, so bathing was a darkened experience. The suite had air-con in the sleeping area as well as another unit in the front sitting room, so the long set-up was comfortable. My bedroom window faced the main drag and traffic noise filtered in. The suite had an odd set-up. I would think the sleeping room would be on the quieter courtyard rather than on the noisier traffic side, but no one asked me. Thankfully, Cortez shuts down fairly early so the traffic noise was do-able. The second floor, east wing ice maker was broken, but the unit in the breakfast room spit out plenty of ice to re-supply a small cooler. The hotel breakfast was nasty, so I went across the street to the Pie Maker bakery and enjoyed a very good breakfast.
Hotel is only 20 minutes from Mesa Verde NP, in the heart of Cortez. Restaurants, Grocery Store in walking distance. Still working on the renovations, which was no problem at all. 35 minutes from the 4 corners, in the middle of nowhere, with native Americans selling their products.
Very busy week, bathroom cleaning could have had better quality control before letting guest in. Check in staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was large and well appointed. Wifi worked great, extra parking in the back worked out well for small truck and trailer.
We've stayed at the Best Western Turquoise Inn & Suites, Cortez, COLORADO several times and have never been disappointed. We use it as a base from which we explore the surrounding interesting landscape or as a waypoint on our way to NM or Durango. We recommend it to you and your family.
No problems with ths stay. The jacuzzi pool was the best I have ever experienced--large and pretty. The kids especially enjoyed it as they could actually swim around in it. The people at the front desk were helpful in showing me where to go for more information. The room was clean and roomy. I was pleased to find mouth wash among the amenities. My whole family enjoyed the stay and said it was the best motel we stayed in on our trip. The kids liked the waffles for breakfast and the grown ups were glad that there were fruit options. The location is perfect for going to Mesa Verde or the Canyon of the Ancients. It is also not far from Shiprock and Four Corners.
We stayed in a suite since there were 5 of us. Not a very large room but sufficient for a one night stay. The rooms have been semi updated with granite countertops, mini fridge and microwave. We had a separate sink outside the bathroom plus a small bar sink in the living room. The shower head was wonderful and beds comfy. The overall feel of the hotel is a little tired, but I wouldn't let that stop me from staying there again. Tricia at the front desk was super helpful. Breakfast was disappointing as they had run out of waffle batter by the time we got there and having a picky eater child meant no breakfast for him.
Dirty bathroom (unflushed toilet that stank). Nonexistant breakfast because of lack of planning for a crowd on a holiday weekend. Desk staff not helpful. Mary in the gift shop was great! Parking a trailer was challenging --had to park in back without monitoring for security.
We stayed here for a night the day before the grand re-opening so there were quite a few workmen around in the morning but they didnt disrupt us at all. The room was perfectly good, and had been redecorated (although the outside flooring really needs replacing). Breakfast was fine, nothing special but perfectly acceptable, and a very nice steakhouse close by.
Terribly noise being located off the highway. Also, the room next door was having a party, and hotel did nothing to stop it. Also, wifi did. It work at all. And the pool was completely drained. Breakfast was just okay.
I had an amazing time and look forward to visiting again soon. The breakfast was decent and being able to visit the Mesa Verde National Park was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. I am truly grateful.

Loved this hotel! People were happy and friendly!! Clean, and go above and beyond. Rooms were so comfortable and clean! Breakfast was very good and they are very accommodating to your needs. This is a MUST STAY at place when in Cortez!!!
We have stayed at the Turquoise Inn & Suites several times and have always had a good experience. The staff has always been very friendly & helpful. The location is excellent to walk to any of several pubs & eating establishments. Rooms are very comfortable & clean. I especially like the grassy courtyard with water feature to relax in before dinner.
On a positive note, we found the beds and room to be quite comfy and the breakfast offerings adequate. However, the hotel's soundproofing must need some refurbishing, as the noise from other guests above us and on the walkways was a little disturbing-I am not sure the hotel can do anything about people needing to leave extremely early in the morning, but it was a bit disturbing. We certainly would stay here again! It is well-located to gas stations, grocery stores, and the town's center.
The staff was very accommodating and nice. Showed concern about our stay. The room had every thing you'd need. It looked clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The jetted tub in the bedroom was interesting and we took advantage of it.
We rented a suite that had a separate bedroom for us and a living room with a sofa bed for our son. Worked out very well for us. Breakfast was delicious. Also pet friendly for our dog. Very quiet and comfortable. Sofa bed wasn't great but OK.
A very nice hotel in the middle of town with a great hot spar pool and a hearty breakfast of eggs and meat.. The staff are nice and its near the liquer store and a good restaurants.. Ten mins away from Mesa Verde
Perfect location to walk to restaurants. Good breakfast. Clean new rooms. Hot tub had broken the day we arrived, so manager Trish upgraded us to a room with a jetted tub. Fantastic customer service!!!
Staff was great, both on check in and when we decided to extend our stay. Our reason for being here was Mesa Verde, Four Corners and Hovenweep. A short drive to all from here. Ample parking and our suite was very accomodating. Also, the waterfall in the courtyard was nice to listen to.
We stayed there for a night at the end of April. Great place, very nice and very comfortable. We stayed in an efficiency and it was so nice. The surroundings were beautiful and on the outside of our room was a small waterfall, very relaxing. The price was very economical for everything we got. All Best Westerns have great breakfasts, hot cooked breakfasts with eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, and yogurt. The best breakfasts of any franchise. I highly recommend this place if you are passing through.
We arrived for a two night stay the first week of April. We couldn't have the type of room that we had reserved (see attached picture) because the desk attendant said that all of those rooms are being renovated. We were put in a room with two queens and a sofa bed. We had reserved king beds, so that was quite disappointing right off the bat. Also, the reservation stated it was a two bedroom, and we were put in a one bedroom. That was an additional disappointment. There was no compensation made for the difference in room. The desk attendant cheerfully explained that we'd been "upgraded" to a suite, when a suite is what we'd reserved in the first place. We had five people (two couples and a child), so it was all a bit squished and no one really had their own space. We were put in a room that hadn't yet been remodeled, and I can see that the remodel to the rooms is a timely one as the paint and carpet looked worn and could use a refresh. The bathroom was only stocked with 3 bath towels, so one of us went to the front desk to ask for a couple more and were told they would bring some down. Several hours later when it was time to go to bed, the towels still hadn't arrived, so we had to go back to the front desk and get some. They asked if we would like extra towels when our room was made up the next day, and we said yes. They were not provided the next day, requiring another trip to the lobby. Our toilet paper wasn't replenished when the room was cleaned, so we had to request an additional roll at the front desk. The first night we could hear someone snoring through the wall in another room, so you could say the walls could be better insulated. The list of channels on the TV includes some that are not available, which was kind of annoying. There was a garbage can in the courtyard that was overflowing our entire stay. The breakfast was good and the beds were fairly comfortable. We forgot to bring toothpaste and the desk attendant gave us some of that. By way of information, this property is in a good location in the center of town. There are lots of places to eat nearby and a grocery store right across the street. The room has a nice counter area with a fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a vanity outside of the shower/toilet area which is nice for getting several people ready in the morning.
Wish we could have stayed longer, excellent check in and great staff. Let us park our Harley by the awning because of bad weather. They put us in a fantastic room for the night. The breakfast room was very nice and the staff kept everything full.
Our stay at BW was excellent. The hotel had their "Grand Re Opening Celebration" which included the residents to participate with free giveaways, food and DJ - it was a fun time! The staff at BW are very pleasant and offered dining suggestions locally for us. The staff was very professional and helpful to our needs and experiences. Breakfast was wonderful with staff helping and assisting to maintain a clean and full items service. The BW has completed their upgrading exterior - looks great! Our room was comfortable and quiet.

It was just good hotel to stay. However, needs a couple isse to be proved from my experience from 2 night staying. I still don't get why I couldn't see the travel channel and weather channel without paying.
Nice place to rest during travel with nice people there to help and be of service. Nice facilities, especially the pool. Nice reception area and comfortable breakfast lounge. I had a suite and it was more space than actually needed, good deal.

The best Western in Cortez is Centrally located. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The rooms are very nice, although they currently are doing construction on the hotel that has lasted months and is a bit annoying.
I had reserved my room for the wrong weekend, with another site. My bad! Trish at the front counter was very helpful, she had her co-worker (didn't catch his name, sorry) book us in a suite, which was all they had left, due to a huge cyclist thing going on. They were super cool about it, gave me a discount! I messed up and still got a deal. She Also told me I could call the website I used and cancel, even though the website said non refundable. I called the website, they called the hotel, I received my money back from said website. I was very pleased. The hotel was going thru some renovations, but that didn't affect us. The suite was very nice. Clean, and comfy. The heated pool was wonderful after a long day of driving. They ran out of breakfast. That was the only bad thing. And I would stay there again, no problem.
Great location and friendly staff who went way over what we expected! They had us park our motorcycle by the front lobby and kept an eye on it overnight. Breakfast was excellent! Scrambled eggs and all the other fixings you could ask for.
Many of the rooms are undergoing a complete overhaul, new carpeting, mattresses, etc. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and it was very nice. As for the breakfast, the selection was very good except for the oatmeal. Rather than individual packets of oatmeal they served a pot of "blah". We have stayed at this BW many times since the late 1980s and have always found it to be really nice. On another note, we stayed at two other BW properties. The BW were offering a special to receive a $10 gift card for each night stay. What wasn't said is that the card can only be used at BW properties and is valid only until August. The promotion was misleading.
This is an excellent hotel that has been recently remodeled. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the bathroom was spacious. We were upgraded to a suite because I am a diamond club member. It was awesome to have so much room for the family to spread out. The staff was very courteous, friendly, and helpful.
Took a 3 night trip to hike in the Cortez area and stayed here. Paid $94 per night for a room with 2 queen beds/non-smoking. PROS: Room was just remodeled. Gone was gross carpeting and replaced with nice hardwood floors (no suspect wet/mold in carpet). The walls freshly painted and the bathroom very clean and sealed. The room was HUGE!! on one side was a long couch and coffee table, dresser, small desk with mini fridge and LARGE TV. On the other were the 2 queen beds. Beyond the bed area was an alcove for hanging clothes with a countertop that spanned almost the whole width of the room with coffee maker and lots of space for your stuff and the door to the bathroom which was small with just the toilet, sink and tub/shower. Directly across the street was an awesome grocery store and gas station. We would pick up picnic foods at the store before we left for the day. The breakfast had hot and cold choices and was plentiful. CONS: Clearly the room above us also had hardwood floors and the family staying in it never seemed to sleep nor remove their shoes when indoors!!! Much of the hotel is still being remodeled but we had no trouble with all the workmen etc, As the bathroom itself is small I put all my getting ready for the day stuff on the counter outside and after a shower went there to get ready, only to discover while my husband was in the shower that the hair dryer is mounted in the bathroom and not the counter. The WORST PART is the entire wall along the bed side of the room did not have a single electrical outlet so there was NO alarm clock in the room nor anyway to plug in your phone and put it on the bedside tables. Overall this was a nice place to stay and I had no safety or sanitary concerns here.
This staff is wonderful, everyone is so friendly! Thanks for making our trip a wonderful experience, the rooms we've stayed in are comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is definitely a plus with a very nice variety for all .
A great place to stay there and great people and a great location in the town and they have the stuff we need if we don't have any of it with us and everyone is friendly there and have if we have a problem there
The staff is excellent, they are so very friendly and truly kind ,they treat you as if you were their good friend they are also very helpful, knowledgeable, and are willing to give you the best deal possible,o ya and the hotel is nice to

Stayed 2 nights in Oct 2016 . Found this a very pleasant hotel . Rooms clean, modern and comfortable. Staff especially Trisha, are very helpful. Our room was not serviced on the second day but this was resolved with a slight reduction which was acceptable . Would stay there again . Can recommend .

I reserved a hotel room at BW in Cortez, then subsequently cancelled it a week prior to check in. I received an email stating the reservation had been cancelled, but then had a charge on my account for it, plus fees. I called the hotel and got some lame excuse that they have new people who didn't catch it. They were willing to reverse the hotel charge but when asked about the fees they wouldn't pay those because it was booked through a third party site and they claimed it was their fault, not the hotels. Bad business practices, definitely won't stay here in the future!
BestWesternTQMI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Turquoise Inn & Suites, responded to this review
sneck53: I apologize that you were not happy with the way the hotel handled your cancellation. Third party bookings are often difficult to figure out and it is easy to place the blame. We can only issue credit for the amount that was charged. Again i apologize and I hope that if you are in the area you might consider staying with us. Tiffany Neely General Manager
Pros: We had a great stay here. Loved the suite and couch bed. Also the free breakfast was great! Shower had great water pressure. Cons:The beds were too firm for me, and the outdoor pool was closed. The indoor pool is just a big hot tub.

Having a suite and a couch bed make things sooo much better and easier for our family. I thought the beds were too firm, but my kids didnt complain. We all really loved the hot breakfast in the morning before heading out. I also really loved the shower, great water pressure!!
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on our way through Colorado with our large dog in a room with 2 queen size beds. This is an older hotel that could use some updating, especially the crank windows, to receive a higher rating from me. We were placed on the street side of this hotel so it was a bit noisy due to the traffic. The stairwell near our room was closed and the pool was being drained, possible due to getting ready for winter. On the Plus side, the staff was fabulous, especially Monet and "the clerk with pink hair". Both ladies were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. The Full breakfast was awesome! The outdoor seating worked perfect for us since we were traveling with our dog. Cortez, Colorado has an awesome, well maintained Community/Recreational Center within walking distances to this hotel. There are several picnicking areas, grass throughout the park & nice walking paths around the complex. In addition, there is a beautiful lake with a fountain on the property. Mesa Verde National Park was conveniently located close to this hotel. For hikers, this park is a must. There are several hikes that require tour tickets down to the ruins. This was a good stopover hotel for our travels.
Stayed one night while on tour through Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Perfectly fine for a bed for the night. Room a bit tired but staff pleasant and complementary breakfast good. Can't complain really!
I wish I would have gotten the woman at the front desk's name, but she was at the desk the morning of October 16. She was so kind to our kids and really made them feel special. She was generous when I asked for a little extra shampoo. She made our stay really great.
I stay quite frequently at the Turquoise Inn and I have never had a problem. The rooms are always clean and very up to date. The staff is always friendly and the breakfast is a good full meal. I was once told by my friends that lived in New Mexico to never ask a person from that particular place, where to stay. She had made the mistake in Cortez. If a person lives in that town, chances are, they don't have to stay in a hotel/motel and don't have a clue what is acceptable. She suggested the Turquoise Inn because she stays there. I constantly go from New Mexico to Utah and look forward to the Turquoise Inn.
This hotel is in a good location and is easy to find. The breakfast was nice, with lots of hot food. The hotel is old and dated, but it's clean and good for a night's rest. The beds were comfortable and we didn't have any issues with noise.
We had stayed here a couple of years ago and liked it. This time, it just didn't seem as good as we remembered. Everything looked like it was wearing its age and in dire need of a facelift to compete with the newer motels in town. Check-in clerk was friendly to the European visitors ahead of us but lukewarm, at best, to us. After checking our room (undesirable location at top of stairs), we asked to change to a quieter location several rooms away. Again, a lukewarm reception to our request but it was granted. The room faced the main street/highway through town which is noisy when outside but our room was amazingly quiet once inside. Very small bathroom but large vanity outside bathroom. Breakfast was more continental than the hot breakfast advertised. However, a perky breakfast attendant made people feel welcomed.
We stayed at the Best Western Turquoise Inn and Suites in Cortez, Colorado, for 1-night in late Sep ($118) while en route from Moab to Mesa Verde National Park. The hotel is located on Cortez's main street, within walking distance to a few restaurants, the Colorado Welcome Center (where you can purchase tickets for ranger-guided tours at Mesa Verde), and the super market and liquor store across the street. An older Best Western, it is a 2-story structure with outside room entrances arranged around a central parking area. There was a large, free form indoor jacuzzi behind the breakfast area, and an outdoor pool that closed after Labour Day. Our queen room was spacious and furnished in typical BW quality – chest of drawers, desk/chair, 2 upholstered chairs, armoire, mini-fridge, large flat-screen TV (125+ channels, many HD), 2 luggage racks, etc. The vanity and mirror were at the end of the room, with the bathroom to the side (no fan). There was light from a long, high window (dated screw-open type) onto the parking lot. Heat was from old, baseboard electric heaters, and the wall mounted AC was noisy. The hot breakfast was good, including fresh berries. A bit dated, but Best Western quality at a reasonable price.
We stayed in Cortez CO just for the night on our way to Sedona AZ. There aren't many hotels/motels in Cortez to pick from. This hotel presents nice from the outside. But the rooms need some serious updating, deep cleaning and they need to replace all their linens. The staff was nice, the price was reasonable but I just felt the rooms were dark and really run down.
Loved our room and the staff. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, staff was very helpful suggesting local places to eat. If we were to visit this area again we would stay here and drive back to the Moab area to visit the National Parks, the savings per night more than makes up for the price of gas. We stayed 4 nights in Moab and if we had stayed in Cortez we would have saved over $250, gas would not have cost that much.
This hotel has exterior hallways. There is a lot of noise from the highway. The bathroom is so tiny only one person can fit at a time. The ceiling had obvious water damage and was hanging down into the room near the bathroom. We requested a first floor room, arrived at 6:30 pm (relatively early) and was told that they were all taken. We had a senior rate, we were obviously seniors and we had to climb up and down the badly maintained stairs to unload our car. In addition, we were traveling with a small dog and had to take her out several times. I do not recommend.
Our stay at this hotel was adequate. The furniture was old, I pulled out the top drawer and it fell to the floor. I tried to catch it, causing the 2 of my nails to tear :( . Running the AC caused sinus problems for everyone, I had to turn it off to recover. The temperature controls on the 2 AC units were broken, but when you turned on the AC, it was cold. Walked around the hotel and found another separate BW building, so unless people specify which building they were in, these reviews may not reflect which building people were staying in. We were in the building facing the main road.
Spent the night at the BW Turquoise in Cortez during a Southwest tour. Possibly the best BW we've ever stayed in. Large suite, pet friendly, easy access to lawns, and an excellent staff. Monique was especially helpful.
This an older unit with no indoor corridors or elevator. The room was small by today's standards. The Lobby and Breakfast areas had been upgraded and were nice. The wall heating unit would only work on high fan setting which made it difficult to sleep.
If this was cheap I'd probably stay here again -- not worth more than around $80. Old motel, noisy, no fan in bathroom, bed not great, maids came in to clean when I had a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door! At 11 pm the second night of our two night stay we couldn't open the door due to the card not reading. Had to go to office and get it reset. Not something you feel like doing when you pay good money for a motel.
Adequate hotel but at the lower end of Best Western. A family pulled in right after we checked in. They had 5 kids and 4 dogs and I'm not sure which made more noise. If I was coming through this area again I'd pass on by.
My husband and I stayed in a Suite. It was a good size with a separate bedroom. The bedroom was large enough for 2 queen beds (very comfortable), as well as a bureau and TV. I would rate it higher if the hotel was updated. The room, garden area, and breakfast dining area need a little renovation. Overall, it served our purposes.
We spent the night here during our SW Colorado road trip. I called ahead of time to make a reservation. I am a BW rewards member and the desk clerk advised me that I had enough points for a free night! SWEET! This is an older motel, but it looks like some renovation had been done. It was pretty quiet although you can hear the occasional loud vehicle pass by as this property sits on the main street. The room was clean and everything worked well. Typical BW breakfast. Good location when visiting the Four Corners.
Our room was like a motel room, on a upstairs walkway straight off the parking lot. It was gloomy inside with small very high windows. However the room was very comfortable. We got 3 very good nights sleep here and we were out all day so the dark interior was unimportant. We did meet some other guests whose room was in the inner hotel courtyard and they did have big windows with a garden view. Perhaps I didn't check sufficiently when I booked. The breakfasts were acceptable but of course not comparable to the b&b home cooked ones we had on much of the tour. One day we and several other guests had to breakfast in the foyer as there was insufficient seating in the breakfast room. The front desk staff were variable. Some extremely helpful. Others unable to give advice. The hotel is a short walk from downtown where there are at least 2 really nice restaurants. It is also 10 miles to the entrance to mess Verde national park which is amazing. I would recommend this hotel but try to check if the room has a garden view or no view if you would be bothered by it.
We've stayed at this hotel twice and we remain well satisfied. King Suite is roomy with very comfy beds and plenty of pillows to choose from. Breakfast has the usual, but we especially enjoy the scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Not sure how quiet the standard room side of the hotel, it is very busy.

Room was large and clean but bathroom was extremely small and the fixtures were set for very short people. The indoor jet pool was the best ever. Laundry area was nice. Large breakfast area with a large variety of foods

We stayed 3 nights here as we toured Hovenweep and Mesa Verde. The desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. They directed us to the Visitor Center, local restaurants and suggested routes to tour Hovenweep. We asked for a second floor room and found it clean. However there were a couple of tiles on the bathroom floor which were starting to pop loose. The only ventilation for the bathroom was a crank out window, which worked grudgingly. The first day, the hotel staff neglected to empty our trash, but I found the fellow and did it myself. Next day was fine. We did not hear our next door neighbors. There was a gap under the door...wonder how that works in colder weather? Breakfasts were bountiful and good with both hot and cold food items. Breakfast room was large enough to handle 30 people. We would probably stay here again.

We have stayed at this Best Western on several occasions over the years & have always felt very welcome. We stayed at this hotel 20 plus years ago and chose it again based on that experience. The years have not been kind to this location, it was clean but a bit on the dingy side like most older hotels in need of an update.. Staff was friendly and helpful but parking was at a premium. Breakfast layout was good with a good selection. We paid extra for a suite with a fire place but the fire place did not work. Pool was closed for the season but the hot tub was open, just not well situated for use. Think we will make another selection in the future.

Dan S: Thank you for your comments. We are actually going to start our remodel in the next week. I hope you will stay with us again and see all the amazing changes and upgrades that are in store for our hotel. Thank you again Tiffany Neely General Manager
The hotel is in need of a facelift (which we were told would be coming next year.) The hotel is two stories with outdoor corridors. We were glad to find a guest laundry but the inside hall floors were dirty and in need of a paint job. Our rooms were clean and spacious. There were nearby restaurants and a grocery store across the street. We would stay here again. Great location if you are interested in seeing Mesa Verde (don't miss it)!
We are always treated like returning family. Rooms very nice and breakfast selection is good. Our suite opened onto a cute little green grass courtyard with a waterfall! After finding this little gem we won't consider staying anywhere else in Cortez.
We discovered the Turquoise Inn & Suites several years ago on a trip to the 4 Corners area. We were very pleased that time and this time we had a similar experience. Older motel style property but very well maintained. Our room was right on the main drag so some road noise but not bad. As we travel we try to identify properties we'll stay at again--this is our pick for Cortez.
Great breakfast, clean room, quiet, we couldn't have asked for more, but we got it! Upon check in the clerk saw that my husband is a Vietnam veteran because of his hat and she gave us a discount. This is especially touching to us since for the last 20 years my husband has battled 4 different cancers, caused by exposure to Agent Orange, and won. Unfortunately, in the last month we have found out that this 5th cancer will win. Even though he didn't give his life in Vietnam, he has given his life because of Vietnam. Thank you for giving back to those who have given.
This is a fairly old motel but it is very well maintained and a very nice place. Access is very easy. Our room was very clean and comfortable. WiFi was OK, the breakfast was exceptionally good and every staff member we encountered was very friendly, courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling in this area.
Travelling from near Denver to Sedona, this is an excellent point to stop and rest for a night. The location and available restaurants nearby can accomodate almost everyone. There are several very good restaurants nearby, including La Casita de Cortez for outstanding Mexican fare. And, it is not far from the Mesa Verde National Park which is a must see.
This hotel met our needs just fine. We were happy with the Suite because there were 3 of us traveling. The breakfast was average as you would expect. The La Casita de Cortez restaurant accross the street was amazing.
We stayed 2 nights here for our 30th anniversary getaway (Mesa Verde/Durango-Silverton) and it was fine. The only negative was that we chose this hotel for the fireplace, which turns out wasn't working, and the maintenance man didn't know how to hook up the gas. Other than that, the room was great, the rest of the staff was AMAZING.
I booked my reservation for this Best Western through Trip Advisor. Upon check in, we were advised we had a smoking room. I know for certain, I'd never book a smoking room, so my question is, do Trip Advisor bookings query smoking preference? To be fair, the motel sent an ionizer up to try to provide a remedy, but I'm unhappy to find myself in a room, I'd never have selected. Curious about whether tour bus bookings over ride normal reservations?
Hidden gem in cortez. Clean and spacious rooms. Quality hotel and typical best western morning breakfast which includes muffins, scrambled eggs, waffle, juices, bread butter jams. Good nearby restaurants and groceries. Value for money hotel for people visiting four corners or mesa verda.
I reported that the air conditioner was broken and so load that we had to both wear ear plugs to sleep. The women at the desk said that I was WRONG, and that it worked fine (she didn't check it out). She said it was the hotel behind their building and their equipment was fine. The bed was bad, the room cleanliness was marginal, the pillows lumpy but she was the worst ever.
Upon arriving at this BW hotel in Cortez, we were warmly received by a very gracious staff member. When learning of our BW status, she upgraded us to a suite that was very nice. Since we had a few bad situations at our last 3 of 4 BW locations, this was a real treat for us. Our room was large, nicely furnished, great bathroom area and nice bedroom. This had everything one could ask for in a mid-range hotel room. The room was quiet so we slept very well. I have put back a little more faith in the BW chain after stahying here. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Just outside our room was a courtyard like area that had table and chairs to sit down and enjoy the beautiful weather we were experiencing. The breakfast had fabulous scrambled eggs, but the sausage patties were not very attractive or tasty. However, they had a very good presentation and the facility was large enough to have vacant seats in the busy 7 o'clock breakfast time. I would certainly stay at this property if I get iinto this area again.
They got us a room that we could have our pets, and it was really nice. There was only two issues we had with the room, but overall it was a great stay. The two issues were the outlet in the bathroom didn't work for the coffee pot, and there was hair in the shower that wasn't ours. The staff was very friendly, and the check-in, and check-out was fast.
We stayed one night traveling thru town - Staff was very pleasant and our rooms were clean, cool and quiet - we would stay there again. Breakfast was the typical fare. Due to a shortage of time, we did not get to use the pool or other features available.
We usually use Best Western as a dependable place to stay when traveling. We were disappointed with the Turquoise Inn and Suites in Cortez, Colorado. The hotel was situated on a busy and noisy highway, the decor needed updating, the bathrooms very old, and overall felt rather shabby. The service was fine and we appreciated the many options available in the breakfast room. We did a lot better for the same amount of money in a bed and breakfast later on in another town.
I had a reservation for this location, and was anticipating arriving at the hotel at a reasonable time, however, with holiday traffic, it took hours longer, and we arrived past midnight. We had called ahead to tell them that it would be well past midnight and the wonderful woman at the front desk, Becky, was very understanding. She was waiting for us when we finally arrived and she had already marked our room for a late check-out, so very gracious of her, she knew that we desperately needed sleep! We were so very grateful to not have to worry about getting out at the usual check-out time, and we got some sleep, and as always at Best Western hotels, the beds are so very comfortable! They are a great hotel and the breakfasts are always good as well! Thank you Becky and Best Western!
I stopped here during a rad trip and had a great stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the breakfast cooks. The room was big and clean. The building itself is a bit older and the main parking lot is small, but all the amenities have been updated and there is an additional lot that can accommodate larger vehicles.
We had a quick one nice stay and we were pleasantly surprised. Staff was very friendly, the beds were comfortable and our room was quite large and clean. Our room was by the upstairs patio area which has its pros and cons. Love the extra space to get some fresh air but unfortunately, you can hear every conversation out there which can be a problem if you have some early rising chatty fellow guests like we did. They were certainly not being loud but you could still hear everything through the door. All in all though, a good stay!
as always im never disappointed with my stay. everyone on staff are professionals and very attentive to my needs. the breakfast is always great. a large variety of food. always looking forward to staying at Best westerns.
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Internet worked very well. Breakfast was the usual fare. Parking outside room was limited but you didn't have to walk too far. Air conditioning units might need an upgrade.
We were not expecting anything exceptional in a town of 8,500 people, but were very pleasantly surprised by this Best Western. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the rooms were the nicest we had on our 24 day coast to coast Harley ride. All amenities were top of the line brands, and the loop cotton towels were the softest. Our group of 12 also enjoyed the recommended Mexican restaurant (lacasitadecortez.com) that was within a short walk. Wish we could have stayed more than one night, and hope we can get back there again.
My husband and I stayed here twice within one week as we traveled to and from a family event in Gunnison. First night was great even though there was a bat in our room. Yes, a bat was on the ceiling when we arrived. It created quite a commotion but was promptly and humanely removed. Our room was very spacious and very clean (room 120). We especially enjoyed the bathroom which was huge by motel standards. Not only was the bathroom completely separated from the room by a door, there was another door in the bathroom separating the shower and toilet area from the large counter with double sinks. Alas, we are back tonight and we were told room 120 and rooms near there were occupied. So we are in room 114, immediately adjacent to the pool where many young children are doing what kids do...shrieking and making a lot of noise. And while our room is very spacious the carpet is stained and dirty. And the bathroom containing toilet and tub and shower is another one of those spaces where you and your elbows will hardly fit at the same time. The concrete outside of our room desperately needs a power wash. It amazes us that one hotel can result in two very different experiences.
Very nice we'll run establishment. Rooms were adequately clean, beds were comply, outdoor pool was well heated. The gal at the counter was friendly and acted like she cared what she was doing. The wireless internet was smoking fast. They also have a very nice indoor jacuzzi pool. Breakfast was a typical BW well done but not the best. Oh and two Pokie stops within range.
"the breakfast was awesome", "the staff was great", "a great place to stay" my grandkids opinions. mine too. i read some reviews before my visit and some of them weren't flattering. we met two ladies at the front desk and the lady that prepares breakfast. I'm sorry i didn't get their names. They are the nicest people you'll want to meet. we were greeted with smiles and all the information we could handle. awesome. Our breakfast server kept the food coming. Ages a great leggy too. 5 stars Best Western Turquoise Inn & Suites.
When we called from Mesa Verde to make a reservation, the representative on duty, Eva, was so friendly and helpful. This was an older hotel that has been totally remodeled. Knowing that we were older, she managed to get us a room on the ground floor. All of the staff personnel were very helpful during our short stay.
We loved our stay here. True, it is an older place, but clean, comfortable, quiet, walking distance to Main Street Brewery and the cultural center. We loved both. Breakfast was very good, staff friendly.
This hotel stood out from a lot of nicer, newer ones for several reasons. One, it had a big, outdoor pool that my swim team kids actually found fun to frolic in, evening AND morning :). Two, the hot breakfast is not only hot, delicious, huge, and well serviced every second, but it can be eaten outside in a courtyard with a waterfall (nice for antsy little ones!) And three, my personal favorite, room 218 on the top floor is double size with a mega huge bathroom and a separate room for mom and dad who were really glad to have some privacy for once on this 2-wk long road trip. Beds were AMAZING, slept the best I did on the entire vacation. Everything sparkling clean. Won't forget this place, ever!!!!!
This hotel doesn't look much different from the other choices in town, but it is a treasure! It's so pretty and calm in the courtyard, there's a water feature and a very nice smoking area...this is rare! As a smoker, I'm used to standing out in the parking lot being uncomfortable. Not here! The beds are comfortable, you can have the complimentary breakfast inside, or outside in the courtyard area. The rooms and common areas are clean. I've stayed here before and will definitely stay here again!
This is an old school motel layout and when we first pulled up we were nervous as it looked a little tired out. Our room, on the other hand, was great! Decent sized with two queen beds and a microwave and fridge. They had a strange indoor pool sized hot tub but there's also a nice outdoor pool. Breakfast was surprisingly good. I normally stay away from hotel waffles but couldn't resist making one with strawberries & whip cream and it was delicious. They had many other great breakfast options as well. The location of the hotel is right in the centre of things and it was a 2 minute drive from the visitor centre where you can buy tickets to tours at Mesa Verde.
After opening the door the first thing to hit us was the terrible odor. Next was the disgusting pillows. They must have given us the worst room they had. The bed felt like it had a plastic sheet on the bottom. So gross that we slept on top of the bed. My wife went to Walmart and purchased pillows and cleaning products so that we could make it through the night. The noise from the road outside was unacceptable. I would never recommend staying here.
Our stay at this hotel was a great experience. The rooms are great. We had a king suite which has a hot tub in the room. Outside our room was a nice little grass area with a water feature. They even have a BBQ in the courtyard for your use. The staff was amazing and friendly. Coffee pot, fridge and small sink in the room. Room was clean and we would love to visit again.
Making reservation at this hotel was a very good experience with the person I talked with she helped me with find a suitable room at a good price Location was good for my business and all else was very good
This is an older motel, comfy bed, plain decore, The staff is freindly. I didn't try the breakfast, coffee was good, Not far walk from good food. Nice fountain in the front. Horseshoe parking in the front runs out, but the parking in back is good. It well lit also. you have a pokie stop out frount too! Cortez has some interesting stops for that too. Check out the shops I found some interesting stuff.
This beautiful hotel is our go to when in Cortez. The rooms are beautiful with some of the friendliest front desk staff. We were upgraded to a suite that was very welcome after spending the day tromping around Mesa Verde. The breakfasts were good with a wide variety of choices. A very nice service in the "grab and go" snack bags provided free of charge at the front desk. Water, a piece of fruit, and a granola bar. It's a short drive to the Dolores River, which is one of the prettiest rivers I've seen and a pretty drive just a little further to Telluride Colorado. The trail of the Ancients is also a short drive away.
The staff is extraordinary. We felt very welcomed and comfortable at this beautiful Hotel. At the last minute we needed to change hotels and the employees who helped me make a new reservation for the next night could not have been more friendly and interested in my trip and the need to change plans. They demonstrated great knowledge of the area and made the trip feel personal.
The place was very clean and wonderful staff. There was an odor but it was not crippling like other reviews said. You got use to it very quick and it's was a none issue after a few minutes. Great all around. If I end up ever doing mesa verde this will be where I stay. On way out of town we did 4 corners monument and that was nice and convenient from this hotel. I say again everything was great and the smell was not as bad as other reviews say it was. Well worth the rate for a comfortable bed, clean room, good breakfast and friendly staff.
This place was a good price and centrally located. We only stayed one night for the Ute Mountain Tribal Park tour the next day. The carpets and furnishings are excellent condition, if a bit dated in style. There is a refrigerator, TV, and the usual bits. The breakfast place was in a different building than our room location, but very nice choice of breakfast items including the usual 'bake your own waffle'. We liked it and would recommend for an inexpensive stay in Cortez.
The place was clean with very friendly employees. The only issue we had was the lack of an elevator for people who are handicapped. The room was pleasant and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, a very nice place to spend the night while on the road.
As previously noted, it is dated, but clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and cooperative.. An excellent breakfast. I enjoyed bisquits and gravy, which fortified me for the journey ahead. Good location for visiting Mesa Verde and handy to Colorado Tourist Center.
This is a dated property that has had a little lipstick applied to it. The wall a/c unit is VERY noisy and inadequate to cool the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The location is good.
The staff members at check in/out and breakfast were all very friendly. The outside of the hotel looked worn. The room looked fine, but had an unpleasant smell. I travel with a can of Lysol, but it didn't help much. The air conditioner didn't cool the room adequately. The noise outside the room was distracting. We even overheard our neighbor say about his room: "It looks okay, but smells bad." And another child ask: "Why does our room smell so bad?" Apparently, the smell issue wasn't limited to our room.
The staff was very nice, the hotel it's self was okay at best, but could use an updating. The internet in the room never worked at all and I had to call the front desk, only to receive receive the same excuse I received at other Best Westerns, that they are aware of the problem and working on it. When I awoke in the morning and there was still no internet, I received an entirely different excuse from the check out staff. The TV didn't work in the main room and two burnt out light bulbs told me the cleaning crew doesnt do it's job. I stayed at hte Day's Inn down the street with no internet problems, therefore It's highly unlikely I would stay at this location again.
Well maintained breakfast room. Nothing unusual, but good. Like the Abiquiu Inn, there appears to be both older and newer sections to the facility. Once again we were in the older section, which wasn't decrepit, but showed its age a bit.
Nicely spruced up on the outside, breakfast is more than adequate so we were looking forward to a good night off the road. Desk people were friendly and welcoming. In reality the property is old and has had a facelift. The essentials for a good night's sleep were missing: incredibly noisy, small and mostly useless A/C unit at the rear of the room behind a wardrobe that blew air into the side of the unit. Sheets felt like they'd been cut from flour sacks. And topping it off, a tiny commode space with a toilet that needed at least two flushes every time. Not the good night's sleep we'd been hoping for.
We spent the night at the Best Western in Cortez, CO & we were given a suite which was marvelous. The bed was comfortable & the temperature of both A/C units was great. The breakfast choices were very good. We left in the morning well rested & full.
We would stay at the Best Western Turquoise Inn & Suites again. It's conveniently located if you are going on a jeep trip. The parking was a bit inadequate, but overall we were very happy with our stay.
This was a great find about half way along on our family vacation. Very kid/family friendly. Staff was truly accommodating. Area was quiet and beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was what you expect at every Best Western, well stocked and well re-supplied.
Had a suite for our family...six including two adolescent girls. Room was clean and in good condition. Outdoor pool was great for kids. Included breakfast was super....scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. Everything freshly made. Two ladies in charge of breakfast did a great job.
Definitely would recommend the suites particularly if you are a family and spending time in the area. The suites open out to a lovely grassy courtyard with tables and chairs. The BBQ grill is a good option. Good location with grocery store across the sight. Convenient location to Mesa Verde.
Our favorite thing about this motel was the heated outdoor pool. It was larger and deeper than most Best Western pools. The southwest decor was charming. The breakfast was pretty good, it did have some protein options, and the breakfast staff were very pleasant. We did have some issues, but they were very minor overall – the Wi-Fi was not working at all in our room, and the waterfall wasn't working in the hot tub. There is a grocery store across the street, and plenty of restaurant options. It we ever travel back to that area, we would definitely stay there again!
Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room was the cleanest I have ever been in. I have traveled A LOT for many years and this was the cleanest room I have been in probably ever! If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely be back at this hotel.
We had a great stay at this hotel on our way to the Grand Canyon. There is nothing fancy about this hotel but it is a great value for your money. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the staff was especially very helpful. It is also close to Mesa Verde National Park and is conveniently located with regards to restaurants.
This hotel could accommodate our family of 6. It's quite outdated, but the worst thing is that the central courtyard is the designated smoking area, so all the rooms that open off the courtyard smell like smoke. It' an adequate.but average hotel.
Property is not what I expect from Best Western. It is tired and needs upgrading in many ways! While street appearance is OK, there were unmaintained landscaped areas. The wall switches in the room seemed to control nothing, and the exterior approaches to the rooms seemed to need sweeping or washing down. Room was OK at best and we have stayed in many BW properties that far exceeded this one both in terms of quality and value.
Hotel has a friendly staff; from the front desk to the employees passing you in the hall. Rooms were clean, well-appointed and had plenty of space for our family. Pool and spa are separated, located on opposite ends of the property. Kinda weird. The included breakfast was very good. They offered scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, four choices of cereal, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit. Grocery store located across the street.
Very accommodating to 13 10 year old baseball boys and their families. Rooms were great, especially the suites. Very clean, great surrounding court yard and pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Made it a very pleasurable experience and would highly recommend in the future.
We were traveling through to Utah , so just a night stay. A few minor issues which were rectified - only one coffee cup for a 2 double bed room, aircon inefficient as faced a cabinet at the back of the room and was very noisy! Otherwise a comfortable stay but would recommend best for families. Lots of children when we stayed I LOVED the gift/souvenir shop! As an Australian, I spent up large on Navajo pottery and Jewelry!
Stayed here over the weekend. The hotel is easy to find, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable on providing recommendations, and rooms were clean-what you would expect from a typical hotel. My only issue was the bathroom in the room; it seemed like the pipes might been clogging up. Both the sink and tub were slow to drain after being used. Breakfast had decent options: cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits&gravy, juice, etc.
Reported a very slow draining sink. after returning for the day, sink still did not drain. Air conditioner constantly ran all night and room was never really cool. Breakfast was only so so. I did not feel we got the quality for the money spent.
I would have given five stars on the service. The front desk was immensely helpful as I tried to solve a difficult problem involving getting a new rental car. But there is water that has leaked under the bathtub somehow, and the maintenance seemed overdue.
We stayed in the Best Western here in Cortez on a family trip to Mesa Verde and this was a wonderful place to stay! We loved our room, the pool, hot tub, all staff and the front desk staff were amazingly friendly and welcoming! Beds were super comfortable, we had a fireplace in our suite (too bad it was so hot!) and it was a great place to call home for a couple of days.
The room was good, the breakfast was good, the patio area was excellent and included a small waterfall. The parking lot was recently slury sealed and needed to be striped. Checkout the suites in this hotel.
I travel to Cortez for work frequently, and I've been staying in several hotels to find one that is decent in accommodations and reasonably priced. This hotel was adequate, nothing particularly special. Staff was nice, check in/out was efficient. The room was large and clean, had a mini-fridge but no microwave. The wifi worked consistently (shabby wifi has been a recent gripe of mine). The bathroom was clean and the shower had consistently hot water. I would say the breakfast offerings were a bit better than typically offered at mid-range hotels. My complaint at this hotel is the somewhat odd layout of the room. The wall air conditioner was located on the wall farthest away from the room, near the bathroom. This probably would have been fine, except that approximately five feet in front of the AC unit was a short wall that separated that space from the living space. Unfortunately, it also separated the cool air of the AC from ME. I was uncomfortably warm most of the night. Secondly, there was a chair placed at the end of the bed near the front door... a chair I managed to kick not once but twice. Yes, I could have moved the chair, but the first time I kicked it was in the middle of the night and I wasn't thinking clearly. The second time was upon the alarm going off. So there was no need to move it after that. I'd probably stay here again if the price is right but I'm going to do a bit more exploring in Cortez and see what I can find.
Nice place to stay for family of 4 traveling through Colorado. Easy check-in, check-out. Nice lobby and breakfast. Room was nice. Comfortable beds. Close to Colorado Welcome Center where we bought tickets for Mesa Verde. Close to Mesa Verde park.
Great place to stay. Spent the night here before we visited Mesa Verde National Park. Bought tour tickets at the close by Colorado Welcome Center for the next morning. Units were clean, nicely decorated and quiet.
Pool is misleading in pictures only has small pool inside more like a large hot tub room was very hot. Outdoor pool is okay. The carpet was filthy with multiple stains. Light switch controlled lamps and tv. Could not watch tv with lights off unless you manually turned off all lamps.. Old outdated furniture - hotel needs updates. Door locks were weird and worked opposite of every other location. More of a mote than a hotel. Convenient location.
ABOVE AND BEYOND What You would expect in such a reasonably price Hotel , Incredible Staff, Tiffany and crew, Ramon and crew , Housekeeping above and beyond!, SPARKLING Heated Pool and indoor "hot tub" which is actually a mini-oasis ,Nelli Does the Most incredible breakfast room and checks with You to make sure everything is A-OK !!! We ended up staying 11 nights because it felt like Home. William Smith !!!!
Their price was substantially lower than others in the area. We got the family suite since we were traveling with our grandson. Loved that he had his own space for an evening and we had ours. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast was average but the separate eating area from the lobby was nice. The courtyard outside our room with the waterfall was very relaxing.
Family of 8 stayed here while visiting Mesa Verde NP and Four Corners. Drove to Durango to eat nearby. Room was excellent and service was great. Location was great and convenient to everything. breakfast hit the spot and pool was used for a refreshing dip to cool off from the heat.
The room was very nice, but I think it was over priced.($ 158.00) . We were able to walk to any number of restaurants. The staff were very helpful & breakfast was very good. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, make your own waffles , juSt to name a few items.
Standard hotel, clean could use somewhat of a makeover. Comfortable beds good TV and WIFI. Convenient parking. Grocery store across the street has a great deli. Although it was located on the main road, road noise was not a problem.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. There was a pool and free WiFi was offered. The staff gave me directions to the nearest Shell station and a nice place to eat dinner. The hotel was very nice for a rather small town, I would definitely stay at this hotel again if in the area..
Nice hotel to stay at. Loved the Family suite, enough room for my family. Check in and out was easy and fast. Enjoyed breakfast and the breakfast staff was wonderful. Enjoyed staying here. Close to attractions in Cortez.
We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Best Western and would highly recommend it as a great place to stay. This hotel is excellent value. We had a very large clean room with many amenities. And a hot breakfast was also included. The bed was really comfortable and we slept very well. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Location was very convenient, had been in Durango for 10 days. Room was old and was told by front desk that will be renovated in fall. Great market across the street and nice area to walk my dog. Convenient restaurants close by. Check out the Silver Bean for coffee on the west end of town.
Passing through town. Checked in late. Great service from night auditor. Stayed in a suite. Very nice since beds were in seperate room than living area. The next night we requested a crib. Was expecting a pack and play, but was real wood crib. Very nice! Nice breakfast in the morning also. Would recommend from to other families traveling through town.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice, but could definitely use an update (old carpet, old door locks, etc). The breakfast was great and it was convenient for our trip to the four corners.
We spent 3 nights at the Best Western in Cortez, CO. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was well prepared and the staff eager to please. It was nice to return to an accommodating facility after long days of riding and visiting the national parks. The hotel was within walking distance of several restaurants and stores. The hotel has an outdoor courtyard and a gas grill. There is a fountain in the courtyard. The indoor pool is beautiful. Easily accessible parking behind the hotel with ample parking for a truck and trailer. We had a double queen suite and it was roomy.
The staff was great! We were Placed in a king suite at king prices because we checked in early evening and no kings available. The room was spacious a/c worked great! The bathroom could have been cleaner. The bed ... Left a lot to be desired ... The head of bed was a bit lower than the foot, it took two pillows to make it bearable. The sheets were MISERABLE!!! They were cheap thin sheets that were so worn they felt like the bed had sand in it! I wouldn't stay there again .. Not a good nights sleep!!!!
It's an older hotel but well kept. I understand they will be renovating after the summer so it will be like new again. Great location at the end of Main Street close to everything. We walked to our restaurant and the ice cream shop. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable
This was an awesome hotel with a suite we really enjoyed the luxury. There was a sitting room and a bedroom. They have breakfast included eggs, sausage and fruits. There is plenty of parking and it's very close to Mesa verde. There is a little fountain and waterfall area inside which is very pretty.
Stayed here as it's a dog friendly hotel during a road trip back in February 2016. The hotel itself was great and I had no issues with anything. Room was large and comfortable and had everything we needed for our one night stay. There weren't many occupants in the hotel as there weren't many cars in the lot. Breakfast was buffet style and had a mix of everything: yogurt, cereal, toast, your traditional eggs, bacon, sausage, waffle iron, oatmeal, coffee, tea/juices/milk, etc. The worker was quite nice in making small conversation with us travelers. Indoor pool and spa available. Conveniently located and accessible from the street with plenty of space to turn if you have a large vehicle. Close to in town stores if you need to restock anything from walmart to CVS and plenty of auto and grocery stores too if you need any of that stuff.
Stayed here en route to Mesa Verde N.P. & Durango, CO and would gladly stay here again. The staff here are great! Gave good advice on where to eat and how to get to Mesa Verde. The breakfast was really good and the dining area was very clean. There is a small, but very nicely kept courtyard adjacent to the dining room and lots of pamphlets on local attractions. I really like the place & would stay here again in a heartbeat!
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years when travelling through Cortez, CO. It is centrally located, and one of the nicer places in town. I was upgraded to a suite, which was nice. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The inner courtyard is private, and quiet. The staff is very friendly. This is a great place to stay in Cortez.
I had one of the most pleasant check-in services I have ever received. Although short, we had a very nice, comfortable stay here. I would definitely stay here again when travelling through Cortez, Colorado.
Since we need an ADA room, our room was on the first floor. The parking location was okay, but there was not a convenient place to walk the dogs that we travel with. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
We had been up to Mesa Verde all day so we were very tired. The young lady who checked us in was pleasant. Our main area was spacious, not thrilled about the cramped space in the bathroom area. Bed was very comfortable. There was no internet service due to a work crew cutting an underground cable. I would suggest a basket of some kind to leave keys when personnel is on the phone and/or helping or other guest.
The air conditioning did not work. The room was very small and the bathroom even smaller.Had to work your way around the bathroom door Not a comfortable bed. I'm sure there are other places to stay. Find another place to stay
Great service, very nice room and set up for disabled was well done. Good breakfast clean grounds. Disabled parking was next to back entrance a just around corner from room. The room was clean and fresh with two Heat Pumps one in front and one in back for cross ventalion.
An older hotel in a good location near the center of town and across the street from a grocery store. But the renovation was a bit shoddy (poorly thought out in several ways I noticed). The service is a little shaky (amateur / thoughtless). The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was good.
Drive all day, find yourself in godforsaken nowhere. This place is a life saver. They found me a first floor suite on a Friday night at 10pm. Spacious, quiet, totally functional. Very reasonable rate-- helpful front desk. Breakfast was not a mom scene--decent fare: biscuits & gravy, sausage, pancakes. Really glad I found it.
This is an older hotel that they have been trying to update. The rooms were spacious and furniture adequate. There was a frig but no microwave. I was told I would have to get one of the more expensive rooms to have the micro. Not really happy. They had added extra outlets which I was thrilled about until I found only a few of them worked. They have wifi problems, at least in the corner room where we were. I even called the 800 number and the tech couldn't get me connected. He finally told me he would call the hotel and have a discussion with them. Later the front desk called and said they couldn't do anything about it so I had no wifi. Was upsetting. Now for the good part--breakfast. Beautiful spacious room with really good BW food and friendly staff. Will stay again only if I have to and definitely not a corner room.
Stayed here 2 nights and never could get the room temperature correct. Apparently in an attempt to cosmetically update the room a stand alone closet was placed in such a way that the heater/air conditioner blew onto the side of the closet. Since the thermostat was connected to the heater/air conditioner the heater would shut off before the room was heated & then it would blow non-heated air which made for a cool draft. Their cleaning staff need some training: cleaning supplies were left in the room the second day, they didn't notice that we were out of toilet paper & we had to go to the office to get more. I gave them 3 stars because the continental breakfast was excellent: lots of hot and cold food choices and the staff in the dinning area were very friendly and helpful.
The property seems to be older but was convenient, clean & comfortable. The appearance of the exterior & interior needs to be updated. That made us hesitant about staying there but we were glad we did. I would recommend this property.
We had booked a regular room and were upgraded to a suite. LOTS of room to spread out - sofa, easy chair, microwave, fridge, sink, two TVs, two basins in bathroom. Good breakfast area with attentive staff, although it was a little warm to me. Only problem we had was some noisy 'tenants' on Saturday night. We were in an area off of a courtyard, so when they got out there a 1 in the morning, the sound echoed..
It has the markings of a motor lodge when you first pull in. As in most things, don't judge a book by its cover. The rooms were clean and comfortable and everything worked as it was supposed to. The front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the town. I would return
This is an older hotel that is very well maintain. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, but the bathroom was extremely small. The staff was very nice and helpful with directions to shopping and dinning in Cortez, The breakfast the next day was excellent. Over all we had a very good experience, we will stay here again.
Arrived here after a long day driving to a very warm, friendly greeting from the receptionist, who gave us an upgrade to a king suite as we had a Best Western card. The room was very spacious with a nice fireplace and a big bathroom and was extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and we heard no outside noise. Breakfast choice was large, again the staff were very friendly, and we checked out happy with all aspects of our stay.
Staying with our grandson and his girlfriend, we wanted to make sure everyone had a comfortable bed. We found that in these suites! Our room and bathroom were huge!!! A bit of an older building but in very good shape. Friendly staff and a great hot tub! Excellent breakfast with very attentive staff, keeping everything filled. Would highly recommend Best Western Turquoise!
We have stayed at this hotel many times. We also get the King suite as we like those rooms much better than a regular room. The room is comfortable and clean. The hotel staff is nice and helpful. The hotel is located near the center of town and conveniently located across the street from a supermarket.
I was a little concerned when having booked this by phone as part of our trip. The person that took my reservation would keep talking to someone, not having put me on hold. I took it as odd, but went ahead anyway. When we got here late after visiting the Mesa Verde National Park...I was greeted by a wonderful front desk employee. She was so kind, helpful, and put my hesitation at ease. She recommended a great restaurant to eat dinner at that was still open because we were so late. Explained everything about where things were on the map of the hotel. The room was clean and so comfortable. They had everything that a person needs when on the move traveling. They provide quality shampoo, conditioner, soap, mouthwash, and even have make up remover. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and we really appreciated the remote being in the "clean remote" sleeve. We were told the sofa bed was fine, but I didn't explore the comfort level of that. The breakfast provided was yummy. I was impressed that the scrambled eggs were not just plain. Whoever made them put some green chili's in them. You just don't get eggs like that in an included breakfast at a hotel. They also had biscuits and gravy that I didn't partake in, cereal, oatmeal, toast, pastries, bacon, sausage, coffee, and juices. It was just an all around good variety. A lady that was taking care of the breakfast area even asked us if everything was ok? So nice to have asked. We were impressed. If in the area I would not hesitate to stay here again.
The Hotel is on the main street with easy access to Mesa Verde and eateries. We were greeted with a smile and when we had a problem (the room we were given was still being remodeled) they quickly reassigned us to an upgraded suite with 3 queens one in a separate bedroom. The Jacuzzi had to much chlorine in it. We informed the person at the counter and she promptly made a note to get it corrected. The breakfast was way more then a continental style breakfast. Best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. All the food was way better then the average breakfast most hotels offer. We enjoyed or stay and would recommend this place to all.
This is quite a busy motel. We spent three nights here and it started out pretty good but seemed to decline a bit each day. On our second morning we discovered their complimentary breakfast which had as much variety as any. The lobby is nice as well as the breakfast area and our room. The bathroom is quite small but there is a large mirror and vanity area just outside the bathroom. We always place our used towels in the tub as a sign we would like fresh. The second day I found them hanging on the rack and yes without a doubt they were the used towels. I went to the front desk for clean towels and the lady there was aghast at what had taken place. The bathroom floor was not cleaned during our stay. The noise from the grocery store parking lot across the street on Friday night is not the fault of the motel but still it was there. Apparently it is the social gathering area for locals and I was sorry for the store employee the next morning whom we saw out there picking up empty cups, etc. I may be stretching my rating a bit with "average" but at the same time I think some of this could be attributed to a couple of bad days. Also, the Wi-fi was not available in our section due to recent concrete work but they said the motel next door was allowing us to log on to their's so it was a bit slow.
after a long road trip, this best western is clean and comfortable,. they take pets a big plus.. loving Best Western for consistent and clean rooms to depend on. There is parking in the back for travel trailers
hotel had upgraded us without our asking to a suite due to construction going on. we were very pleased with the accommodation and the service staff. quiet, clean and comfortable, what more could u need. breakfast was hot, fresh and tasty with good selection of options.
Staying at The Turquoise Inn, particularly in one of their suites, is always a pleasurable experience. Friendly, helpful staff; very good breakfast & nice little indoor soaking tub, as a perk after a long day having fun outside!
Clean, comfortable hotel in the heart of Cortez. Nice place to stay while visiting Mesa Verde or just passing through. They were doing some remodeling while we were there which should be completed and looking great by now. Staff was very friendly. The suites in the back are very nice.
Stayed here for a couple of days after a work meeting to take advantage of the area's outdoor activities. It's somewhat dated, but it's very comfortable and clean. Staff is wonderful. I would certainly stay here again.
After driving over 8 hours to stay at this location, I was very satisfied with this location. This hotel's was very pleasant and helpful. There breakfast is very satisfying, large portions, and constantly refilled. Thanks for the great stay.....
We had been traveling for almost a week when we checked in here for the night. Eva is friendly and efficient in getting us checked in and questions answered. Our room was a large king size room with coffee and fridge. Smelled and looked clean. The motel itself is maintained very well. What was very convenient and helpful to us is that there was guest laundry machines available. Wish we could of arrived just a bit sooner so we could of enjoyed the pool for a while. The bed was very comfortable and we got the good nights rest we needed. Love the fact the fan doesn't kick on and off all night either. Stays steady and can't hear any road noise at all. Check out was easy and good breakfast available. Cute little gift shop too. Can't go wrong here.
I was pleased to find this hotel was clean and conveniently located. An upgrade was given to us, and we enjoyed the room. The staff was friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. The breakfast the next morning was better than usual. The beds were fine, and it was quiet. I appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. We will stay here again on our way through.
This is a nice clean, smoker and pet friendly place to stay. Park in front of your room-my type of place-no elevators, hallways. It is older, but very well kept. Breakfast was about right, and the internet worked well.
The person at the front desk was friendly. She checked us in very quicky. When i asked for a recommendation for dinner, she had a couple of them. We had time to enjoy their hot tub/pool - indoor, it was just what you needed after a long drive. The rooms are very clean and comfy. The outside of the hotel makes you think of a motel, but was really a nice room. We would stay here again without hesitation.
My wife and I were passing through on our way out west and decided to stop here for the night. Since we had our two dogs with us we thought this would be a good place since Best Western is a pet friendly place to stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful getting us checked in, even with our dogs. It was really late at night so they helped us out by giving us a discount room. Inside the room it was clean and spacious. It was getting down to freezing and snowing that night, but the room was still comfortable. The bathroom was extremely large. It was still very quiet for us overnight. The room looked like it could use a little touch up. The floor trim by the door was damaged by prior use, but it was still a good experience. The next morning, the staff was on top of things making sure to clear snow and ice right away. I would look to stay here if I were in the area.
I have stayed here before, so, when I had a chance to go to Mesa Verde, I made reservations immediately. My room was clean, quiet and spacious, and the breakfast is always filling. Across the street is the grocery store and gas station and in town, Trip Advisor will send you to just the right restaurant.
We stayed one night on 11-20-15. The heater fan was very noisy and the filter was dirty. My sinuses bothered me the next morning. The suite was worn and in need of refurbishment but was OK for one night. We booked one night on our return trip on 11-z28-15. There was no one at the front desk and no bell for service, so we waited till a lady came out. As soon as we brought in our luggage we heard the thumping of music from below us. The front desk lady moved us to another room because the noise maker was on extended stay, so we were the party inconvenienced. We packed up and moved to anothdr room. Upon using the toilet, we found it in nasty condition. The bowl hadn't been cleaned and there was some toothpaste in the sink. A further look around showed the duvet had dark hair and soiled areas on it. There was hair and dust built up around the base boards, crumbs on the carpet and nail clippings on the sofa. We grabbed our luggage and went downstairs to check out. We found the front desk lady in conversation with the noise maker from below our first room. She allowed the gentleman, who had a can of beer in hand, to berate us for objecting to the thumping base music and told us it was Saturday, he worked hard, and was entitled to drink beer and play his music. He belligerently told us we just needed "to chill out." After we responded that we work hard too, and did want to chill out, but in a clean and quiet room, the desk lady offered a few words in defense of the beer chugging guy. She wasn't professional enough to speak with us privately, but rather allowed this guest to talk over and try to bully us. Best Western should provide more training in customer relations to this employee, and really take a look at the dirty, worn and shabby rooms. Otherwise, this could deteriorate into a "beer and a bed" type of place. The suites were spacious and had potential to be a nice hotel with some problem area addressed. It appears as if this Best Western does not meet up with the hotel's standards and is sliding into a dive motel. We were very disappointed and would not stay here again.
Very small bathroom, no micro-wave, noisy location, good area for pets. Staff at check-in very pleasant. Cortez is a medium size community, we had BBQ in nearby takeout restaurant. I have nothing else to submit.
The room was clean and beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was tiny and outdated, but clean. We stopped here around 1 am on a road trip and were accidentally given the keys to the wrong room...the gentleman who was already in that room was quite surprised. It has made for a funny story but freaked me out at the time!! It was an honest mistake though, I'm sure. We were quickly given a different room and it worked out. The breakfast was good.
The staff are always friendly. The rooms are comfy.......we have never had any major issues here, it is off the main roadway and the breakfasts are plentiful. They generally have great coffee too! I have only had one noisy evening and that was due to the guests, not the staff.
Appears to never have been updated from the time it was built, possibly in 1967. Air conditioner filter needed changing. Carpet torn and stained. Room was dusty. 1" space under door allowed cold air into the room. However, the people were helpful and friendly, and the bed was comfy.
This is an older property but fairly well maintained. We called ahead and asked to be able to check-in early. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. When we arrived two hours early, our room was made-up and ready for us. The room we had was great. We stayed for a few days while we took in the sites of southern Colorado over the July 4th holiday. Breakfast was exactly what you would expect for a free breakfast at a hotel (lots of food but not the greatest). On July 4th we sat on the lawn and watched the fireworks. The staff let us take some poolside chairs to the front lawn to sit on while we watched fireworks. The only complaint I had and it is a minor complaint is that it sometimes took a long time for our room to be cleaned. Again this is only a minor complaint and I understand that they were very busy (every room was booked). All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at a reasonable cost.
This hotel brought back memories of family trips in the '70s. It's the kind of hotel that has doors opening directly to the outside as opposed to an inner hallway, and where the pool is situated within a courtyard. It's right on the Main Street of Cortez, reminding me of Route 66 days of travel. Sure, I occasionally get nostalgic for "better" days, but I really prefer my hotel accommodations to be modern and bright. Having said that, the positives are the very friendly staff, the fairly large rooms, and the cleanliness. The room felt gloomy, but ours was situated on the inner courtyard which probably explains that issue. We were very pleased to discover a wonderful BIG park not far from the hotel which was perfect for walking our dog. The hotel is right on a very busy street and walking near the property is not enjoyable. There's a Safeway (with a Starbucks) right across the street.
I have rated this 3, but may well have scored it 4 but for the particular room allocated to us. First the good stuff. The hotel is well located in Cortez. The room was pleasantly decorated, had all the usual amenities, everything was working, and it was spotlessly clean. The breakfast, though nothing special was perfectly ok - tasty, filling and with a reasonable though not great choice. The lady looking after the breakfast was working really hard to ensure that everything was kept topped up and available. Reception staff were efficient without being particularly friendly, So far so good. However, the room allocated to us must have been in one of the worst locations in the property. It was noisy until late in the evening and we had arrived tired from a 300 mile drive that day nearing the end of a long road trip of nearly 4000 miles, and after an early dinner all we wanted to do was to relax and then sleep. We were located just under a smoking / lounge area and adjacent to the stairs up to that area. As a result we were kept awake and disturbed until late at night by the noise of people on the stairs and then clomping around upstairs, and chatting and shouting. It did not seem to occur to the people going up and down and walking around that other people may be trying to sleep! I appreciate that this is not directly the fault of the hotel, except that I do question the location of that area. However, in all honesty because of that I cannot score our stay any higher, and if I were returning I would specifically request a room away from that area.
I had driven by this hotel many times over the years but never stayed here. One of my counterparts said it was a nice hotel so I figured I'd give it a try. I was very disappointed with the hotel overall. The room appeared to be clean but had a sense of cover up spray. It just did not smell clean and fresh. I also had troubles with the shower. For most of the time the hottest temperature I could get was about a tepid 80 degrees. But then the hot water kicked in and went to a scalding 120 degrees and became very uncomfortable. The ironing board in the room looked like somebody used it to do some sidewalk surfing behind their car for about 18 miles. Dirty and bent. I chose to go to work with clothes that were wrinkled in my luggage for fear they would come out a lot worse looking and smelling if I ever used that ironing board. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and I do have to say having a full range of TV channels is a definite improvement over most of the Best Westerns I have been in but those two factors certainly are not enough to get me to stay here again. There are two large hotel chains up the road with much newer and nicer hotels that I feel are a better value.
Have stayed at this hotel before and found it was in a good location to what we wanted to do. This time we were just passing through. The room was actually two rooms, a living room and a separate bedroom on the far side of the bathroom. Very quite. The staff was very friendly.
We stayed one night while on the road, and decided on this place because it was a Best Western and the price was good. The bed was old, but comfortable. Nicely decorated. The bathroom was a little small, but the water was nice and hot. The motel is not much to look at from the outside, but the rooms were fine. Complimentary hot breakfast too!
Stayed two nights Sept 20 2015. Convenient for visiting Mesa Verde. Near supermarket plus walk to restaurants (Main Street Brewery, Nero's). Room on first floor from outside walkway (no lifts) overlooking car park. Clean and comfortable, well furnished, but small bathroom with no extractor fan. Weather temperature OK to leave aircon off (less noise), but windows intended for opening were old/stiff so put door on chain at night. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with full range buffet.
We spent three nights there. It's definitely the sweet spot for a value stay. The breakfast was the biggest plus: eggs, meat, biscuits and gravy, waffles, pastries, breads, coffee, cereals. The buffet is managed by a cheery woman who keeps things clean and stocked. The hotel itself is old, the rooms a little small. Our bathroom was tiny. Initially there was no soap in our room but they delivered it within minutes of my complaint. It's clean and decently maintained. We didn't use either pool (indoor and outdoor). We were in room 116 which is below a patio. One night there was what sounded like a herd of elephants up there which was not handled by the management to our satisfaction. The location is good, right across the street from a huge supermarket.
Stopped for an overnight. Hotel was under renovation so we weren't to sure about it but the experience was fine. Good mattresses, strong wifi, clean room, excellent continental breakfast and friendly staff. Offered us a "managers discount" upon check in which saved another $13.00 off rate.
The place is old and upgrading is being done in good order, I think. Rooms, lobby, dining area. Still, there is much to be done. It was alright for one night. My husband got the Wifi to work but not on my computer.
We were looking for a hotel to spend a couple of nights for our touring. I saw this and decided to check it out. I was very pleased with the size and cleanliness of the room. The beds were super comfortable with pillow top mattresses. This is an old hotel that they have sunk a lot of money into.
We were meeting another couple and were pleasantly surprised to find our rooms very large with a separate sitting room. That was great for us to be able to sit and visit. The hotel was very clean and all the staff was great.
Not the greatest BW property I've stayed at, but it was still OK. Definitely on the expensive side for what I received. Bathroom layout was a bit inconvenient, with a toilet seat that would not stay up due to the size of the bathroom counter.
Everything was excellent and the family enjoyed their stay. It was our first trip west for the children. We especially enjoyed the gift store. Even though the motel was under renovation everything was still clean and comfortable.
This property has clearly seen better days and can now no longer compete with similarly priced Holiday Inn Express in the same town. We relocated to the Holiday Inn after only one night of a planned two night stay.
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again but I was disappointed that I couldn't redeem some of my large amount of Best Western points to pay for the room. The hotel had rooms available but not for points. I will try to stay at other hotel chains that have a better rewards program in the future.
We stayed here for 2 nights and we were blown out of our mind. Pool is very clean, staff are very friendly, hot breakfast is amazing. The staff here really care about the hotel. The rooms are nice and big, 30 odd inch flatscreen TV with full Direct TV suite. Bathroom very clean with all neaded amenities. Clean A/C and was very quite.
This is a well maintained older property. The staff were exceptional. They made the difference. The room was very clean. They just need to bite the bullet and shut down a few rooms at a time for a rotating remodel.
A nice hot breakfast and a good outdoor pool for the kids highlighted our stay at this Best Western. There weren't many open rooms around when we stayed this Friday night, and this one was packed as well but the walls were thick and you couldn't hear the other travelers. There are other fancier and more trendy motels in the area, but this one is just as good.
This hotel is situated on the main street but was quiet. It is a slightly old-fashioned property but my room was large clean, comfortable and had everything I needed, including a fridge, microwave and good wifi. The hotel has two floors with rooms opening on to the parking area or second floor walkway. It does not have an elevator but my request for a first floor room when I booked was fulfilled. The front desk was friendly and efficient. If I was staying in Cortez again, I would be happy to stay at this good value hotel.
