People were so friendly and helpful. Upon arrival the reception staff greeted us and offered refreshments as well as guidance and maps to any interesting sights, temples etc. The rooftop bar offers a lovely view at nighttime where you get to enjoy the city.

First time in this hotel and presently surprised with the hotel and cleanliness of the hotel. Nice little hotel near the main road, but don't hear any traffic sounds from the road. Staff is very friendly and have a in house restaurant for breakfast etc. Highly recommended

The VU bar was fantastic.. nice atmosfere under the starlights . Barman Indika's mojito was amazing .... and also the devilled fish of Tharanga was devine. Love to be there. Nice & very good servise and everything was perfect..must visit..

Every thing works fine here at Best western. Food and accommodation are best when it's come to special occasion. Rooftop dinner was a best experience. Pinnacle hall is good and there are many opposition to conduct a small gatherings around 50-70 people.

Kind and respectful people are extremely kind and always smiling. Trying to search for anything you need taking the time to listen and so humble. Everyone is so nice from the guy who pick up us the person helping with the luggage none let us do it they help us too much. The welcoming the ones in the restaurant the way they prepare our last day and allowing us to be in the rooftop to have dinner. The rooms are also nice the hotel smell good there is elevator restaurant everything so clean so happy for sure I'm coming back. Thank You for the manager and the helpers in the restaurant they were amazing with me and my team. And also to Mr. Mickrantha Mr. Dumith Daniel and Dilshan . Nice stay. They have separate rooms for elderly (with supports installed in bathrooms, no steps etc-ask for one if u need). Check with Mr. Dumith, Lobby manager. Regular cleaning, affordable prices, cooperative staff. Food is good but very minimal vegetarian options :-)

The vu bar was excellent.The food was divided in to three parts as starter,main dish and dessert.Each was as good as the other one.delicious soup,yummy fried chicken,crispy fish and one-of - the kind ice crean with sliced tropical slices of fruits.The sraff were friendly,smily,kind and hospitable.

I stayed for 2 nights and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and clean! I had dinner one night and the food was very good with a suitable choice of dishes. It is very centrally located with easy access to most parts of Colombo.

I am still very surprised how this is a 4 star hotel. There is only 1 lift. The hall carpets are dirty and stinks. We had to ask for a dustbin for the room. Bathroom slippers are not available. The balcony is off access and dangerous. The hand held shower is broken and doesn't work properly. The pressure and temperature keeps varying making showering very difficult. No vanity kit was provided. Only a small unlabeled bottle was there in the bathroom, which i assume to be the shower gel. No shampoo, no conditioner. The mini bar was locked. Our package included breakfast and dinner. The first day dinner was a great disappointment. They didn't even have a buffet, reason being if there are only less occupants they skip the buffet. The F&B manager then filled a plate with the food from the resto bar above and gave us. Dinner food was average. I suspect they kept the better stuff for patrons above and gave us the least moving items. Food was better from next mornin. But the food is not warm always, the bacon and sausages were cold and we had to ask them to reheat it. Overall a great disappointment. The hotel is on the outskirts of the city so you will need to get a ride to reach anywhere. Nothing is there in walkable distance.

Stayed in this hotel for a night. Had to carry my luggage to the room myself as staff was not visible. In the room, there was a piller, just by one side of bed. Food for a vegetarian does not have many options. I will not recommend this hotel to my friends.

My stay the hotel was very comfortable. The rooms were clean and most amenities were provided. The check-in process was most notablly smooth thanks to the front desk agent Sameera who was efficient, friendly and professional. He was very helpful with any questions and quick to respond to requests.

Very good hotel with a great location in the center of Colombo. Very friendly people and they also have a outdoor bar on the top roof of their hotel!! The rooms are clean and airco is available to have a good sleep! I would recommend this hotel!:-)

There was no blanket on one bed , when asked for blanket the hotel staff told there is no blanket , we have paid for pleasant stay and this is what I am getting . Like how can a hotel does not have a blanket . I had been given a bed sheet instead of a blanket. The food is not upto the mark . I would rate it 2 star hotel . Very bad hospitality

The service is not at all good, room service takes ages to come they don't have a blanket for me when I had already made a booking prior coming dinner and breakfast is not up to the mark food is cold and lacks taste

Myself and 3 of my friends visited Best Western Elyon through a social media promotion. The environment and the hospitality of the VU Resto Bar is highly recommandable. Definetly ask for Sahan(Bartender) who provides a great service in all ways. I also recommend Mahesh(waiter) who was very friendly. And I do recommend Sonal(Trainee) and Chethiya(Manager) who were with us till we left premises. We visited for the first time and highly recommend the place. Definitely stop by if you get time.

I have staying in this hotel few days. Mr sahan is take care of me. I think he is professional in his job. His hospitality is perfect. Anyone who wish to come this hotel I can highly recommended this hotel.

The cleanliness and hospitality of the staff are great are Best Western Colombo. The rooftop restaurant VU Resto-Bar offers a great view of Colombo! I also really enjoyed the food and cocktail at the VU Resto-Bar. Sahan, the bartender makes great cocktails. He's very friendly also. In fact he suggested to me places to visit in other cities during my next trip to Sri Lanka.

We had a fantastic breakfast at he dining room, it was my friend's birthday and they were amazing at helping me celebrate the birthday. I'd like to ad that Nadeesha and the dinning staff did an amazing job, the food was amazing hats off to the chef's. I like to recommend the dining room

Ours was one night stay at the hotel occupying 2 Premier Twin Rooms. These rooms had 2 comfortable single beds which could be moved to use them as a double bed if required. Room had all common amenities in good shape like Coffee and Tea maker,mineral water, free WiFi, good charging facilities, LED TV, big safe deposit box, hair dryer, mini bar, etc. It additionally had a pair of working desk and chair, Ipod docking station and alarm clock facilities. Airconditioning was adjustable from the room itself. Bathroom was nicely styled and arranged. Their other rooms are labelled as "Premier Double" and "Elyon Deluxe". We had a warm welcome at the reception. Staff at all levels were well trained, authentic and attentive. Service level was excellent. We had to leave bit early on the next day and we were provided a packed breakfast of sandwich, fruits and juice in time as per our request. Launched in 2014 the hotel has about 60 rooms arranged over 7 floors. Other amenities at the hotel are concierge, gymnasium, laundry, free self parking, newspapers in lobby, luggage storage and airport shuttle service (at an extra charge). It has a rooftop restaurant and bar with a spectacular view of the cityscape. It is a "Best Western" branded hotel but owned and operated independently. Smoking is not allowed in any of its rooms but there are designated areas allowing smoking. Pets are not allowed. Physically challenged rooms/facilities are available but the hotel is not geared to accept guests with major physical challenges. There is no swimming pool - it is a vertical type hotel built on a medium sized plot of land.

Perfect city Hotel, I was traveling on business... good breakfast closer to main attraction in Colombo. Plenty of shopping and activities around the hotel..... Staff was very friendly and welcoming....

The food was really delicious..we love the dessert especially the jelly custard and the coconut toffee..The place are really tidy and staff are so helpful especially cariza and Dilshan..They have also rooftop bar and the best place to hang out with friends.

Had two rooms for family for one night. Walked into rooms and they were very smelly. The front desk sent someone to spray. Four yo covid no hot breakfast. In the morning upon leaving there were cockroaches palmetto bugs in the elevator. Told desk person and she said yes that's florida. Sorry but if you exterminated regularly this would take Cate if it! Won't go back

The hotel is located only a few kilometers away from city center. Stayed here on Christmas weekend. Rooms are nice and cozy. Breakfast was good. For its price range, the hotel provides a good ambience and facilities. Overall, a nice stay in Colombo.

My Mother and I stayed from 13th-25th March, when the coronavirus outbreak was picking up pace. We stayed here as it was close to the Lanka Hospital (10 min walk), where my brother was staying following a motorcycle accident. The hotel was very quiet throughout our stay due to the Covid-19 outbreak (we felt like we were the only guests!), but there was never a suggestion of the hotel closing, as we had heard rumours of for people staying in other hotels. The staff were extremely attentive and always very welcoming and friendly. The receptionist Consy was excellent, he helped us with everything we needed, notified us of any changes to the curfew in Colombo and helped arrange our transport to the airport when we left. He was always a happy and welcoming face! We spent a lot more time than expected in the hotel, due to the curfew in Colombo and made use of the room service. The food was brilliant and the service was always very swift. We were very worried about our journey to the airport due to the curfew in parts of Sri Lanka and we were concerned we would not be able to get there easily. However, the receptionist Consy arranged for the hotel manager Tony to drive us to the airport, which we were incredibly grateful for. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and the main reason for this recommendation is the wonderful staff, especially Consy and Tony, who made our experience at the hotel an extremely positive one. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for my Mother and I!

Stayed here as part of a group . the place was very welcoming and the rooms very clean tidy and air con. food at the restaurant was great. this was close enough to the main areas to get a tub tub to and would definitely recommend

The hotel for the money it charged us was no where close to what I expected. I has I 4 star rating, and it would not even make it to a 3 star. Rooms are small. Bathrooms too are very small. Location too is away from town. net net, I did not like the stay here.

It is a very nice hotel with good comfortable and clean rooms and great service. The breakfast is well prepared and offers good choice of Sri Lankan cuisine. The staff is ever attentive and eager to help. It was a wonderful stay.

We choose this hotel for proximity to Lanka hospital. My husband had treatment. Comfy beds, very clean, great staff, pleasant roof top bar. Food was nice. Not much around, I was a bit bored. It was easy enough for me to catch tuk tuk to get around. 15 min to 1/2 an hour to center depending on traffic.

A very silent place with an amazing view of Colombo. It also has a comfy and peaceful ambiance. I have visited the rooftop bar with some of my friends for a birthday celebration. The staff was very friendly, specially the Manager, Eranda and the guy at the bar Sandaruwan. They treated us very well and the food also brilliant. Will definitely visit this place again to have a great time as always.

My stay was very nice after arriving at this hotel. Because I felt like I was in my own house. Specially the little girl in front office who Hansini, of me warmly greeted me at my check in time. I was too when I'm checking in time. But Hansini quickly checked me out and gave me a room upgrade. And she also helped me get a transport. Also, my check out and check in were quick. She treated me like her sister. Thank you so much Hansini for all you did for me.

I absolutely love this place. The price is not super crazy 5 star hotel and you get excellent service. Rooms are spacious. We had breakfast twice and dinner once at the restaurant.Good value for money. We also enjoyed they serve you nice drinks and great food.Staff are excellent and very well trained. Specialy Hansini help us lot.Would return :)

What a nice stay i had at best western hotel. Good service and brilliant hospitality and savantha and disal from front office and navod from housekeeping really did a good job making my stay wonderfull. I feel this hotel midas touch(golden) in all departments. I feel like best western like my home and staff serves me like a family member. Apart from money i paid i really had a good time.

We had 2 rooms booked at this hotel and upon check in at around 10:30pm, we got welcomed by cockroaches in both the rooms. Whilst the duty manager was really kind to change our rooms immediately but then as they say, “first impression is the last impression”. Very basic rooms; limited food choices and nothing worth recommending.

I'm staying here from 22nd on a business trip. I have to commute to Welligama and other places on that direction. The place is extremely conveniently located fro business as well as for medical due to proximity of Lanka Hospitals. What I need mostly from an hotel is a clean and comfortable room after a tiring day's work, which I find at Best Western Elyon and it exceeds my expectations. I have never come to the hotel when I wasn't greeted by the smiling and welcoming staff. The staff are extremely helpful and I would like to thank Mr. Suvantha from front office who always went out of his way to assist and help me. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at this hotel in August 2019 for a few days and again in November 2019 for a week. Very convenient for me because of its handicap room and its kind staff, room service, and food selections. I'd recommend they improve their TV programs which were dull. and few.

I wanted to thank mr.Sineth who made my room during my stay, also I would like to thank Front Office manager who greeted me for my departure from the hôtel. the panoramic bar which is located on the 8th floor is great. just for breakfast there is not much choice, i would like to take traditional srilankan breakfast.

This is our fifth stay at Best Western Elyon, and also our longest thus far. We have been here for almost 2 and a half weeks on this current stay and I must say that their hospitality, quality and ambience have always been excellent. It is conveniently situated in a place where it is easily accessible and public transportation services can be accessed without a hassle. They serve a variety of food that is of exquisite taste for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What I am most impressed is of how the rooms are always kept tidy, clean and filled with all the necessary amenities, I would convey my gratitude and a special thanks to Tharaka from the house keeping unit for taking special care of us during our stay and ensuring that the room was well kept in the highest standards. Elyon Colombo offers Variety of different menus for reasonable prices. Also the staff is very friendly and cordial. Added advantage for guests is the fascinating panoramic view from elyon where you can see Colombo from bird eye.

Its pretty sleek and at centre of cosmopolitan city with roof top bar with panoramic city from top. its bit close galle face which i only find great place in Colombo.Its has small but nice interior-ed room with a in house restaurant.

Beautiful fresh room with great views over Colombo. Friendly staff communicating well in English. Also a great restaurant conveniently attached [see Mintaka Restaurant] on the main [19th] floor, with excellent service and tasty menu choices.

Went there for a business meeting, it is a very average hotel just serves the purpose only, Staff is not very trained and trying to assist. Ordered some coffee and food and took ages to come, many room for improvement.

The service was great, but no business center. Room, porter, and meal service and help getting up and down the few steps to the Bistro was accommodating. Meals were some of my favorite Indonesian and Italian dishes, though the Caesar Salad was nothing like Caesar's in Monterey, California. I had a large handicapped room, well lit and fitted. TV was very limited.Plenty of parking and a handicap entrance leads directly to the well-functioning elevator.

It was convenient for me to travel to work from Best Weston Elyon Colombo. From the airport 30 min. drive to the Hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful... Restaurants were welcoming, my favorite was the Vu bar (the rooftop) ! Fantastic view of the city after sun goes down and perfect for few beers.... Will be visiting Sri Lank again and looking foreword to stay at Best Weston Elyon Colombo.

Very nice property at out bounds of busy city. Best place to relax after busy work schedule. I was warmly welcomed at the reception with very quick arrangement of room for my sudden reservation. Room was huge, comfortable, and well equipped (Television, Minibar, iron/ironing board, magazines, writing desk, sitting area, etc). The front desk and restaurant and the staff at the bar were very friendly and helpful. Lots of choices for breakfast and decent tea/ coffee. Convenient location surrounded by the city. Overall great value.

Me & my friends enjoying the drink at the so called lounge with great music as we can played music from youtube from iMac, when suddenly police came inside to stop us to played loud music wherein is not too loud at all ( police ws so exaggerated, how come you have the lounge no music at all is just like old damn place,, thats why we came here drink, comfortable & nice ambiance with music all of the sudden thats all we expect its not acceptable. So better we drink outside your hotel cheap at no one cares. Such a disgusting moments.

The check-in had a slight issue with not accepting my local bank debit card to charge the amount, but they could use the same to charge me with the USD value. The rooms were comfy and clean. Room service is very fast and house keeping provided me extra water bottles each time I requested and the service was fast.

We checked in on 16.03.2019 and checked out on 19.03.2019. Check in was smooth. The reception staff were very courteous and efficient. The room was clean and well maintained.The complimentary buffet breakfast was outstanding in terms of the wide variety of food on the menu and tasty. The hotel is very near to the heart of the city. Excellent value for money.

The rooms were very comfortable and staff very nice and cordial. But the hotel as such lacks open space and is very compact at reception, restaurant. Moreover only one fift for 80 rooms becoming extremely difficult and painful.

In case you want to be inside the city and chose to on the Baseline Road, this is the best option. While other hotels are on the sea front, this is inside th city close to Independent Square and other tourist places. Couple of eateries in Park Road area are good.

I stayed around 13 days in this hotel. Their food was good but I was not happy that about their service. And also the location of this hotel is not suitable for solo traveler. Their roof bar and restaurant was good. I enjoyed some views from this roof top.

This hotel is perfect for business,the room are spacious enough with variety of foods. The rooftop restaurant is also good and its must visit if you stay in this hotel.The only problem is there is no other shops or entertainments nearby.The lighting in the room is very dull.

Had our dinner at the rooftop bar. It was a great experience. Really nice atmosphere. Very clean and well maintained. We got an excellent personalized service from Tiron. Thank you very much. Really appreciated. But I'm not really happy with the food except soup.

Everything is well organised. Staff is very corporative and humble. Specialy I would like to thank prabodha and oshadhi in front office staff. And dining management also nice people. Hotel room is neat and clean.

We checked in early on31st January, the front office staff Prabodha in particular was very helpful in getting us checked early in spite of our checking being at 12 noon. Service industry needs such dedicated people.

I stayed at the Best Western in Colombo, Sri Lanka from January 1 - January 10 2019. During my stay my iPhone ear buds and wristwatch went missing after the cleaners came to clean the room. I later found out that several items of my clothing went missing. I made a complain with the hotel front desk, but so far no action has been taken. Also beware when paying with cash. I paid 1800 rupees in cash to the waiter for my breakfast, however, when I was checking out at the end of my stay, the front desk told me I never paid the 1800. I tried showing them proof with my receipt, but they didn't care, and said I still owed them 1800. So I ended up paying twice for this breakfast, which wasn't even of good quality. Overall, very poor customer service. I would not recommend staying here.

stayed there over a year ago. room were ok. food was oily. breakfast was so so basic was far from almost everything. staff was young and not properly trained. we had so much of trouble finding a taxi to go to the airport in the morning i hope things have improved since.

This hotel is ok for a night halt, rooms & bed are comfortable. However, the food is poor. We ordered an expensive dinner of Grilled Jumbo Prawns & rice. The prawns were overcooked, and the rice under cooked. We ordered drinks and the waiter Chintana was so uncooperative it was amazing. Normally a waiter would go out of their way to try and make the customer comfortable ( as did another waiter Julian & deserves praise) However Chintana was something else, leaning on the chair of one our lady guests ( at one stage I thought he had been drinking!!) Anyways it was a bad experience. Breakfast buffet was also poor, bread did not toast was only warm, coffee was muddy. There is only one small lift, so expect long delays in getting to your room or down. I would not recommend this hotel for anything longer than an overnight stay, if your eating out, otherwise, not at all.

This hotel was booked by Make my Trip under a packaged deal. When we checked in the hotel we reminded the hotel that we are vegetarian and needed veg dinner for the day and hotel restaurant confirmed that. When we reached the roof top restaurant for dinner we got only vegetable rice and salad - none of the things was promised were done. It was late 9pm and New year Eve was being celebrated so nobody listened to our complaints for food. I suggest better to avoid this hotel for any kind of vegetarian food

It was very nice & well maintained hotel. The all the staff of BW Colombo was very humble & supportive. The location was fine. The breakfast was good & many options available. The Vu Restro bar was excellent with great hospitality. The view from the top was very good. The food served was too good & beyond the expectation.

I stayed at the BW Elyon for 8 days. The hotel is around 45 mins from the airport and quite near the Lanka Hospitals. The hotel has 7 floors plus a roof terrace and secure underground parking. All the staff were really nice and friendly, very helpful and polite. My room was really good with a large bed and all the facilities you need, including a safe. TV was ok with around 7 channels, including BBC World and Sky Sports. Really large shower in the big bath room. Breakfast had a wide choice of western and eastern food and eggs can be cooked to your liking. Restaurant food was very good, try the prawns, I've never seen prawns so big. Roof terrace has city views and a bar with kitchen and excellent staff. For a hotel the alcohol prices are cheap with a later bottle of beer (pint) around £2. There is one annoying problem, the roof bar is the only place to sit outside in the evening, while I was there after 7pm the area was shut for events, which meant sitting in my room., for those evening, there is nothing within a short walking distance that's a bar or restaurant. And finally wet underpants. I used the laundry service, my shirts came back washed pressed and on hangers,my underwear returned sealed in a bag, they hadn't been dried I pointed this out to reception and still was charged... Tony's Tips Sockets will take UK plugs with no adaptor. WiFi can be flakey and slow. No swimming pool. Around 7km from the main shopping areas $10 in a cab $ 3 in a TukTuk

I came for dinner at the Vu Bar and Restaurant and was greeted and served with exceptional service. Julyan served me and I had such a wonderful experience that I would come back again and again. This hotel and outlet have taken hospitality to the next level.

Only in town for 1 night to watch them Sri Lankan's and Limey's pitch cricket balls at each other. Hotel rooms are very nice and the rooftap bar is perfect for a pre dinner beer and to enjoy outstanding city views. Hotel employees very helpful with ordering taxis and offering advice for onward travel.

I had the most amazing time with this best western hotel in colombo .The room is so comfortable and uponn check in we had the most wonderful welcome almost felt at home .All the staff has this nice smile .The food is so delicious and you get serve quickly . I see that most seychelloise book this hotel upon visit to sri lanka . The hotel was conveniently located as I was on a business visit to Colombo. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious and it was worth the money I paid. The rooftop bar is a good place to relax in the evening after a long day. Breakfast was good and the hotel staff were very kind.

This is a good hotel, if you are coming to Colombo just for 1 /2 Night. Rooms are clean, well lit, with all modern amenities and facilities. Only lagging point was food. There are very few staff to do refilling / replenish of foods items, which gets complete. Also they don't keep Veg and Non-Veg dishes separate. We found it very awkward to pick up Puri from the Fish Tikka dish. Lobby is very small, so it can not accommodate more than 10 guests in lobby.

I was here with s group we checked in on 30th October and thankfully stayed here just for a night, this has the worst service ever. The front Lobby is very small and rooms are also small you put your single cabin size suitcase and you are cramped for space, the toilet has a foul smell even as ting when you flush like a backsraft. The shower area too feels cramped in the towels they had put in looked dirty and used not clean, thankfully I had my own bath towel, the bed had an odd odour, and the pillowalso had a stale smell , we had gone ou tdd for dinner and came back late and had to check out by 0300 AM to catch our flight back home so there was absolutely no time to make a complaint about the quality of the room. Do not use the Minibar under even th he most dire circumstances, if you do you will be charged s bomb, a local beer that costs LKR 100.00 - LKR150.00 was being charged at LKR1200.00 almost.few of my group members who are very senior age wise did not consume chocolates and the front Office in tandem with the housekeeping staff said that Chocolates were consumed, the Front desk delayed our departure until 0345 AM No invoices were given for the supposedly items consumed from the Minibar, it felt like they were trying to take advantage of our situation that we were in a hurry to leave as it is now 01 hour drive to the Airport. The delay tactics were quite obvious as I have been traveling around the world with groups, it is a real pity that people like the Night Front desk staff are in a service Industry. Packed breakfast which was given had a Cheese sandwich that smelt so awful when we tried to eat it that no one ate it , there was an orange which was the size of a peach ,a banana which was again size of a little finger which tasted bad, the pastry inside was stale, to me and many in our group it felt like leftovers have been packed and given to us. The Hotel Management can deny all this till they are blue in the face but these are facts and I have been reviewing Hotels for a long time and I don't gain or lose anything. It is "as is" I place facts. The only redeeming factors were the day Front Desk staff they were polite and friendly, wifi here is good. This is definitely a place to avoid.

Very nice hotel and rooms are well maintained, Bathrooms are very big. We didn't had chance to use the restaurant as we were short of time. I should appreciate the hotel staff for giving the breakfast packs for all family members in early hours so that we can have the required. But missing ones are kids area and improvement would be required outside as the experience isn't good from outside. As no one is available at the entrance of the hotel.

Post having traversed through some of the most beautiful locations in Sri Lanka, we finally reached Colombo. It was raining. Though city was nice the traffic was bad in the evening. We somehow managed to reach the hotel and was very happy with the overall quality. Rooms were good. Staff were friendly. Restaurant service was very good, though food options were a little limited but they made all effort to make us feel comfortable. The service otherwise could have been a little better. I am still waiting for details of my rewards program :-)

It was the last leg of our Sri Lankan trip and we stayed in Colombo for a night. BW offers a convenient location with pretty smart rooms which makes the stay a pleasurable experience.Ms Hiruni & Mr Amuk are extremely helpful. Hiruni was more of a friend and a guide than just a hotel executive and she guided us to interesting places, drew maps for us and even spoke with our tuk tuk guy. Very well spoken lady!

I have sort of patronised this hotel now for almost last three years. The staff is friendly. The options at the breakfast are limited but its OK for me. I haven't tried the food here except the breakfast.

The room was quite comfortable, the breakfast was pretty good even if it was somewhat haphazard getting the refills of the food containers when it was busy. There was a "Gala Dinner" for Christmas on the roof terrace which was disappointing for the cost of it and the music was in need of an update. It was good of them to try but sadly they missed the mark.

We stayed overnight at this hotel during our vacation in Sri Lanka. It looks like a business hotel with standard fittings in the room. The iPod dock for some reason was superglued to the table in the room. The mini bar was locked. We had requested an extra bed in our room and we found the mattress to be in a terrible condition. However it was replaced quickly once we pointed out this deficiency. The hot water was also not forthcoming properly and a phone call was required to sort it out. We had a "half board" (breakfast/ dinner included) booking and the meals were served in the restaurant next the lobby. The dinner was simple and basic and it had to be ordered from a short typewritten menu. There was a buffet breakfast in the morning which was a bit more elaborate. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Bed is comfortable and reception staff was OK.The buffet breakfast was not the best. The food is not kept warm and gets cold by 9 am. Breakfast is open until 10 am.The hotel needs as major renovation. The room I was initially checked in had the curtains torn and water was leaking in the bathroom. The second room I was checked in the exhaust fan was not working.This is my third time staying in the hotel. My first two experience was great but not the third one. For the price they charge I was expecting more as there are now brand new hotels around with the same price with better amenities, comfort and luxury.

The rooms are so very small that even the wardrobe gates don't open fully. The wash room is so small and congested that when I sat on the commode my head banged with glass in washroom used as partition for bath area. My height for reference is 5'11".

Rather far from the action of downtown Colombo but its a charming little hotel. New and with very spacious rooms for the price you pay. Although it is far from the center its approaches are all on heavily congested main arterial roads. As such if you want to be on time for meetings do not schedule them early in the morning. Schedule them around 10 a. m.and return to the hotel by 4 p.m. to avoid being stuck for hours in the maddening traffic The friendly and helpful young staff are their strong suite. There is a lovely rooftop restaurant and bar to unwind at sunset. it's not very high, just 5 floors and there is no pool but its open, there are good views, there is a nice breeze and it is a nice space to chill. Lively piped music and lively staff and one for one happy hours from 7 to 8 p.m. which are really good value. The lobby anyway is a dump so this is the only space in the hotel to relax. F & B is not their strong suite. Probably there is no F & B department and the Chef is lazy. The pizza is a slice of french bread, the burger is small and unsightly, and even the fries are just the cheap frozen variety. He probably cant be bothered to make them fresh from fresh potatoes. bare basic table service as if its a very low budget hotel. There is a good friendly chef on the roof top enthusiastically preparing Nachos, hefty club sandwiches and other bar snacks at an open counter. But if you want a serious meal you have to go down to the ground floor or get it sent up from the main kitchen

The hotel itself is great, and the rooftop bar and restaurant is a must for the views. Bed was massive and very cosy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue was having to tell every tuk tuk or taxi driver where the hotel was because its a bit out of the way on the southern end of colombo.

I visited kuala Lumpur Singapore and Maldives (all island) but that is the best bar i had. They are so nice and friendly even i made a bartender friend (akshita and sanjaya) they are best... I suggest this hotel if you are near by...

We had accommodated B&B for one day and actually its a nice little cosy hotel in the close proximity to Colombo. The rooftop bar and the staff are very polite and curtasy to the guest .They are very supportive and accommodative. Room AC was malfunctioned but at that time their AC technician Malith Malshan was attended and fixed it earliest. Food and breakfast also very delicious. Thanks so much your effort.

It is a holiday with friends. You'll find the staff extremely nice and helpful. Foreigners can get equipped with all required info about city. Rooms are tidy and have everything you need. Food tastes really good too. Highly recommended

Nothing fundamentally Wrong with this establishment, however there is nothing that stands it out from the crowd. Check-in was efficient and straightforward. Room was adaquate with a comfortably Bed, however we were lacking: Mini- Bar ( This was Locked ) Toiletries as advertised by hotel were not present in the Bathrom. Breakfast was Mediocre and expensive for what it was. Additionally the Hotel seems very isolated. Big Question ?? Would I stay hear again - Sadly the answer has to be a No.

Very clean and tidy little hotel with a reasonable price. We only stayed a couple of nights but I can't fault the place. Rooms are on the cosy side but for a few nights business stay they are great. Breakfast was pretty good and they also have a very nice rooftop terrace. Overall good stay

We stayed here for two nights on weekdays. The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and well furnished/equipped (the rain showers were a delight after a day in Colombo's heat/humidity!). Try to get a room on the higher floors, as they offer great views of the city. The front desk staff/service at the hotel in general were extremely polite, flexible, and courteous. The hotel's location is also excellent in that it is close to a few eateries, as well as the National Museum which is a must visit. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would gladly return to the Best Western.

I had a very comfortable stay in Best Western. When I first arrived, I was greeted by two very friendly Front Office staffs - Misha & Prabodha. Thank you for making this stay a memorable one and I will ensure that I will book again in the near future.

It's the reception desk that is the first point of contact between a traveller and hotel. And it can make or break your overall experience. When checking-in, I was greeted by two very lovely people- Misha and Prabodha. They waived off my 'early check-in' charge :). All my week, while I was waiting for my Uber to arrive, I could see especially Misha always welcoming guests with a smile and even if there were many people waiting,she didn't stress out. Not to forget the songs they play at lobby; you don't feel bored. She was super friendly and overall very hospitable staff. The rooms were a bit small though.

As soon as I headed they gave me lovely hospitality.i thank both of them, Prabodh a & nuha. I will surely come back again. Both of them made me fell like home. Hotel is execellent. Room is excellent. Very supportive & corporative.

This is was 3rd visit to best western colombo. The last time I visited was about 7 months back. But sadly the most of the good staff have changed. It was unfortunate. The service from check in to check out has dropped drastically since last time. We had to wait a long time for our room to be ready when checking in at 3:15pm. Once we got into our room. The room was cleaned well, so we were happy and didn't mind the delay. But on our 2nd day. We were returning to rooftop bar which has an amazing view of the city, we noticed a couple in an odd place. And it turned out to be 2 employees from the hotel, my wife noticed the company badges, we had a good laugh about it but it's just not nice to see. Overall we enjoyed the hospitality of Ranga at the bar in the evenings and the food menu was different but good. Overall service wasn't as great as before 7 months. Good luck Best Western.

Definitely not a hotel for business and everything in terms of service is so slow. Best Western Hotels always have some sort of class but this hotel does not meet the standards of a Best Western Hotel, doesn't the management check into these things? Simply Sad. The only good thing is that the staff Smile and are friendly.

The rooms are dated. Need new beds, comforter, carpet and furniture, I hate to say. I read reviews before going and saw some reviews stating this, but also stating they had a great breakfast buffet. We were visiting family and didn't think we would be in the room much, so decided to stay anyway. Buffet the same everyday. Lots of food, but not that great. Grits better if you go early. Staff friendly enough. Giving 3 stars because there wasn't anything wrong, just dated.

This is a super classy Hotel located at Colombo with the best amneties available in town. The Wi-Fi was perfect and we had enough of parking space. we had to check out early for our flight and they had provided us with packed breakfast. I loved the stay here.

Awful No hot water, ran tap and shower for 20mins, still only warm, a man came said we Ned to run the water as we were near the end of the system, finally we had hot water but returned to warm later in the day. Bedside lamp hanging on wires and not working thankfully this was replaced. We requested a second key (as stated in their information book) but each time we requested it we were told their system was down. The restaurant should have open at 7pm but this was changed until 8.30 no information was given about this. Room service, didn't deliver as per menu. In general the staff were distant with very little customer service. There are other hotels around this area and I strongly suggest you try one of those

Best Western offered excellent facilities for stay for my family of 4 during our vacation. Room has a double bed and clean well maintained. Breakfast facility also good and included into our package. The dinner at their restaurant is a bit steep and better avoided. Staff extremely kind and courteous. We enjoyed our 3N stay and exploring around Colombo. Location is well connected to central Colombo by Tuk Tuk and Uber, bank for currency exchange and Keell's grocery store available nearby, overall excellent experience.

Excellent staff and service, i cannot fault my stay, for the price you pay i don't think you could get better. A bit out of the main city of colombo but that was not an issue for me at all. Would give it a higher rating if possible.

Its a budget hotel in colombo with very bad service and food quality.was there for 4 Nights in room No 501 from 12th to 16th May 2018...Rooms and Bathrooms are very small.Roof top bar is okay okay type.. All rooms are Smoke free..Location is good.

Rooms are nice and have view but no balconies Lobby is small adjacent to Restaurant Roof bar location is superb and great view on evenings . Overall it's Good stay But so far for Restaurants or any attractions . I Paid a lot for Tuk Tuk transfers . But worth for ONLY STAY

One hotel which has excellent people at the Restaurant and at the reception. It was wonderful to be asked and recommend dishes that were deliscious. Room is also quite comfortable and cosy. I felt housekeeping has some room to improve but it may be because I was at a wrong floor.

I have stayed a day for a business porposes. Rooms are clean and quite and peaceful and in good condition. Good comfy bed & nice road view. I visit the rooftop bar which has a good look at night where can see city view. Overall I love the stay.

The room was fine it had a hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a bar on the roof to look across Columbo. These are the good points. The situation of the hotel is in a poor part of the city, you can not go for a stroll or explore. The food was cold and unappetizing. The service in both bar and restaurant was very poor.

We had a one-night stopover after a long flight, before commencing a tour of Sri Lanka - and one night was more than enough. The hotel is on a busy road on the outskirts of Colombo, with nothing of interest within walking distance. The room was fine, with a comfortable bed and adequate space. We were at the back of the hotel, with pleasant views. The rooftop bar is a pleasant location, but the service is not great. The evening buffet was cold and tasteless. All in all, it could have been a lot better.

Best Western is lucky place to Chinese business trip. Having a good breakfast and comfortable environment. Ms Prabodha is nice receptionist in Best Western, Help me a lot at this trip. The Chinese restaurant is near this hotel. And you could go to the colombo zoo convenient.

The hotel has small yet clean rooms. But the service is very slow. I asked for the menu in the room and it took 40min to come with two reminders, we ordered for starters which came after 40 min, price rocket high. I ordered for main course and i waited near about an hour but no show. And I even slept of waiting for my food. Ultimately slept hungry. Thanks for the gentleman who came to our room apologizing for the delay. But we were in deep sleep as we were having our early morning flight.

This hotel is perfect for a get away with friends. The rooftop restaurant is lovely and have a lovely view. The manager there was very helpful,he helped us decide what to order. I think his name was Ranga. The overall view is amazing and service is on point! The happy hour is from 6pm to 7pm on weekdays and the drinks they offer are great. Keep it up!

Though i am little late to submit my review here on Trip Advisor... it was my business trip to Colombo and I choose this hotel... little far from the city you can say its an outskirts... but no problem for me i was having all my meetings nearby, Airport is far away approx 1 hour but its ok though hotel seemed to be big in pictures but it small... lobby is very small my office desk is bigger then reception but quick service this is what I was looking for they have a restaurant on lobby level small but good... breakfast food was wonderfull and tasty... i stayed there for 5 nights and menu was different all the days but they dont have lunch and dinner buffet dont know why so you have to order from room service they have a rooftop lounge its good and city view with good breeze... housekeeping staff is good and helpful... rooms and washrooms are small in size but for business trip its good with main road view... zero bathroom amenities no room slippers bathrobes etc etc... i think its because they are budget hotel... all over a good hotel far from the city main attraction good for solo or business travellers and ok food...

We were greeted warmly here by even the very first staff member we had an interaction with, who was the hotel guard. The room we were allotted was decently spacious, despite having an extra bed put in it and had a nice arrangement as well as nice interiors. The bathroom also, while not very large, had a nice feel to it. Therefore, I quite liked the room on the whole. The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate special requests, to the extent possible. The location might not be the best, but isn't too bad either. On the whole, it might not have a fancy name to it but it provides for a nice and comfortable stay and is really good value for money too.

Small business hotel with small rooms but neat & clean & functional rooms. We were given room no. 508 and needed an extra bed. The room still had space after the additional bed. The light in the cupboard was dysfunctional. Very helpful and courteous staff from the doorman, receptionist, housekeeping & F&B staff. Overall good experience.

This hotel is on baseline and the view is amazing. Specially at about 6pm. In terms of the service. It was very prompt and the food did take some time to prepare but taste wise it was great. The TUK TUK is one of the favourites. Keep it up.

me and 2 more friends wanted to visit them since they had advertised happy hrs. but when we went there n ordered the waiter didnt promote it and gave us the normal menu. once i inquired about the happy hr. he came back with a limited menu and wanted us to order from that. he wasted time going up n down since he had no clue about the happy hr and at last after wasting about 10 mnts of time. he came back and said sorry the happy hr is over ( Exactly the time was 6.57p.m.) that was the first time every we experienced it and was shocked to see how unprofessional they were .. we thought of going ahead with the order since we didnt have time to move to another. the cocktails didnt have enough alcohol. So next round we decided to order vodka with cranberry juice separately... OMG after waiting for about 10 or more mnts and complaining to the manager looking man. he brings us two glasses saying its vodka with cranberry. ... we were like OMG..... we didnt order a cocktail we ordered it separately since ur so called cocktail didnt have enough alcohol.... then he tells us sorry we are out of cranberry and that why we mixed it and bought. Excuse me.... how are we to try you whether u have added the amount we pay you when u mix it..... Im telling you its such a bad place and bad food as well... it cost us Rs.6000/- for their really bad service. Down waste your time and money

The Hotel photos looked great on the website and I chose this hotel purely because I had to make a short one night stay. The hotel reception lobby is quite small and I felt the price was a bit high for the kind of facilities this hotel offer. The room was spacious with adequate furnishing and modern décor. The shower had good pressure and no complaints on the room front at all. The restaurant offered good dinner menu and the food quality was excellent. The staff is quite helpful and polite. The break fast menu was quite disappointing with very limited options available.

As we all know, once you check in, the front office either accompanies you, or explains what's chargeable and what's not. None of this happened. At first, we were impressed with the room as it was pretty cheap compared to other hotels and little did we know why exactly this was. We checked in at 2pm, and was having a nap when these people kept calling nonstop asking for a checkout time. Fast forward 1 hr, someone kept knocking on our door which we ignored. We wake up to find a big puddle of water from the AC that is dripping like mad. We politely called the front office once, they promised to send someone but no one did for 30mins. Then I called and demanded someone be sent over immediately as this was going out of control! Two guys show up with a vacuum and a mop. Wasted another 20 mins. Apparently this happens when the AC is set to low. Again, never informed. They didn't do a good job cleaning, and left a wet towel on the floor. To top it all, here comes the interesting part: there are 2 little peanut packets on the the tea/coffee maker tray. Not marked anything. And at the checkout, we're charged for those. When we question why it's not mentioned it is chargeable, their answer is “We should know”. Really people?? We have been to many places and no one has been cheap enough to make a profit out of a packet of peanuts!!!! Water leaks, nonstop disturbances, wet towels on the floor, but charge for the peanuts. This hotel is a joke. Steer clear from cheapos like this. Attached picture is of the guy who came to suck out the water from the ceiling. Yes. It really did happen.

I had the best experience and service at the roof top bar. The bartender was Rusiru and the chef was Tharanga. Rusiru was very attentive to my each and every request and the chef prepared a wonderful meal. I highly recommend coming here if you want to spend an evening with great service and food.

Low quality for a best western really disappointed in condition of their rooms. Bug infested rooms which smelt of bug spray. Stayed on night and left even though booked 3 days. Couldn't get a refund or invoice either when checking out.

We booked this first night on our way to take our flight to Sri Lanka. Hotel is on a main street (taxi almost missed as entrance is litterally on the street). Service was good and room quiet (only 6-8 rooms per floor) and reception arranged a Colombo tour by tuk tuk (meter). No cafes around though so we had breakfast at hotel with western/local food (hot/cold) including some green detox spicy drink.

I enjoyed my stay at Best Western Elyon Colombo. It was a last minute decision to escape for New Year's Eve which I didn't regret :-) Check-in/check-out process was quick and smooth, staff is friendly and attentive. Room was very comfortable and clean, nice bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, safe. Everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was also decent, with Sri Lankan and Western options. Everything was fresh. The location of the hotel is not the most exciting in Colombo:-) But an easy Uber drive anywhere in Colombo makes up for it. My minor disappointment was a New Year Eve Buffet though. The food was average, and it was poor in terms of quantity and selection. Really, if you go into the trouble of doing the buffet - it should be of a better quality, especially for NY. I would just offer people a free drink, invite musicians and let guests order from the menu. Though the restaurant on the roof has great views and staff/service was friendly. Would highly recommend Best Western Elyon:-)

Though not well known its a nice little cosy hotel in the close proximity to col. The rooftop bar and the staff are amazing hats off to them.They are very supportive and accommodative. Clean and neat budget place

The hotel is a business hotel with a small rooms, but very clean and neat. Hotel is on the busy highway to the airport. The staff are very good they guided us for our city tour. The check in experience was not good, This is my first experience anywhere in the world that some one would be trying to make money for giving the room earlier than the check-in time. otherwise it is a good hotel. Nice bed. There is a nice Indian food joint close by opposite the Lanka hospital

An ideal hotel for you to stay if you are going to Lanka Hospital, It is very near to Lanka Hospital,about three minutes drive. They serve very good food in the restaurants, and very good continental breakfast. Staff are very friendly and welcoming especially the lady named Mandy.Their rooms are good.

The resto lounge Vu at the rooftop is quite an amazing place. Although slightly pricey, it offers a good selection of cocktails and finger food - made it just right to finish off our last evening in Sri Lanka. The bed was really comfortable, although the king room meant two single beds were put together, leaving an uncomfortable ditch in the center which made it a challenge for us to sleep. However we were quite tired and had to leave early in the morning so didn't pay so much attention to that. Bathroom was clean but slightly claustrophobic.

This hotel is located approximately 35 Kms from the Airport, the major land mark is that this property is very close to the Lanka Hospital. We did reach this hotel without taking the expressway as we landed very early in the morning and reached the hotel. We had to wait in the lobby for quite sometime as we landed before our check in time, couple of people in the front desk are very friendly. Just a small nasty experience with one of the ONLY lady at the front desk regarding our check, apart from this very friendly staff. The check in process was very smooth. We had picked up a Twin bedded room and was allotted a room in the fifty floor with a city view, very comfortable room containing a mini bar as well. Beds were very comfortable, wash rooms are a bit cramped, but was very clean. Over all a highly recommended property to stay either with family / when on a business trip.

We stayed in the Hotel when we went to Business trip.House keeping do not change the bed spreads.They don't keep provide proper soap in Bathroom.On Some days they never used to keep the water bottles too. Indian breakfast is bad to have here.Over all quality of Service is too poor..

location wise is it a bit far from the main city centre but has good value. one of the few budget hotels with a gym for those who need their bit of workouts on the go. has a good rooftop bar with western food and beers.

Linen and Towels need to be completely changed over. I suspect they are the same lot that they started off with when they first opened 4 years ago. The staff are very nice. Could do with more hands on training though. Very willing to help though.

This is my favourite place to stay while at Colombo. When one repeats one's stay at the same hotel time and again, this in itself is a compliment to the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are well appointed. You would hardly go wrong, if you choose this one.

Stayed two nights at this amazing property. Chathura took the reservation with a great deal of courtesy, and Prabodha was super efficient in checking me in. Mandy was an exceptionally friendly Guest Relations point person; and, as someone who travels frequently, I truly was very happy with the great service these folks offered. They actually put some 5-Star hotel properties in Colombo to shame when it comes to hospitality. The VU rooftop bar is a great chilled out place; while the rooms are amazingly star-class when it comes to facilities and amenities: the beds are super comfy; the WiFi is really fast; the toilet, which can be a dealbreaker for me, is so clean you can sleep in the darn thing; the room service is super friendly and very fast; the breakfast buffet more that enough in terms of food-spread; and, very very peaceful and quiet. Please please maintain these great standards. I look forward to visiting this great property again. Best of luck Best Western Elyon!

I stayed here for 4 nights and the experience was awesome. Staff are extremely couteuos and friendly. Especially Ranga and Aravinda who was welcoming and accommodating with a fantastic smile. Rooms are very clean and nice. Breakfast buffet was simple and sifficiant for the price you pay. Food and drinks at the roof top was phenomenal.

Lobby is small. Check in was fast. Staff are so helpful. Room is small but clean. Location is little far form city center. Check out process didn't take long time. Airport taxi is little expensive ( about RS 6000)

It was a great experience. Very courteous, friendly, prompt and knowledgeable staffs. The room was cozy and good enough for one person and for the business trip. The range of food should be bigger though the quality was good. They should deploy more staffs for check in and check out duties. The rooftop bar is also wonderful, open till 2 AM where others close early. Overall good experience.

The strength of this hotel was the staff, who are extremely nice and helpful! The Hotel was very clean and ran very well. The only negative is that it is in a relatively isolated area away from the main downtown area.

Friendly hotel staff, good wifi & everything you need in terms of facilities and services. The desk is open 24 hours, nice rooftop area, gym & clean rooms with a safe & minibar. Rooms get serviced daily and porters are also very helpful. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes to the city. The only downfall I found was that on their room service menu there were mainly western food options. Coming from Australia, I was expecting some Sri Lankan options. Apart from that, I highly recommend this place!

If one is looking for a quick getaway from day to day life this is the ideal hotel to stay. With all modern facilities and very clean rooms they will offer a luxurious experience within the Colombo city itself, even though you feel like you have flown far away. They have ample parking as well. Food is very tasty and you can expect a warm, friendly room service. I would like to highlight for the price we paid the room was above expectation with its clean and cozy feeling. If you are lazy to drive away from Colombo yet looking for a quick getaway from your busy life this is the best recommendation.

It is a simple hotel with a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Only complaint was that for two days in a row the hot dishes in the breakfast was cold. After that I didn't eat breakfast as I got fed up with it. Bar upstairs has some great food.

This was our first hotel on our tour of Sri Lanka. The rooms were small and the ensuite was tiny. There was a small step into the ensuite which was very easy to trip over. The rooftop bar was very pleasant but drinks were overpriced. The breakfast was average.

New hotel with modern facilities. Centrally located, not far from main tourist attractions in Colombo. Customer service was really good, very friendly staff. Double check your reservation. If you book with hotelbeds or any site related to hotelbeds you could have issues with your booking. You might have to contact few times to confirm everything. It could even turn in to a blame game, hotel reservations manager complaining about hotelbeds and hotelbeds complaining about the hotel. There's a really nice roof top bar. Really good buffet breakfast in the morning. Menu is little over priced, also not the best quality. Tours from the hotel can be expensive, better to book from outside. Even from outside be careful, in Sri Lanka if they find out you're from a foreign country they try to charge you more. Overall very satisfied with my stay, recommended for short stay.

Excellent hospitality especially from the front desk staffs. The whole staffs were very helpful & friendly. The room was very good & since you do not have high rise nearby hence you have a superb view of the city from the top. The complete hotel is a non smoking hotel (except for roof top restaurant) making very good for family stays too.

Room is spacious, clean and has everything you need- towels shampoo and shower gel. The bathroom is lovely; awesome shower, very powerful especially thankful for this after a very long travel. The bed is so incredibly comfy , sheets super soft - very impressed. The beds were so comfy that we slept in and were late for breakfast. But, the staff were really welcoming and cooked breakfast for just the two of us. Brilliant, friendly service giving us advice for the rest of our stay in Sri Lanka. Great start to a holiday!!!

All is well in your hotel, I mean rooms, cleanliness, service, and staff. However there is a need to improve food quality and more options in terms of offering different cousins. Indian cuisine is missing.

We enjoyed our Stay at Best Western Elyon a lot. It was a good place to stay and rest after our incoming flight. The staff were helpful and nice, the rooms comfortable and clean. The AC worked perfectly. The Hotel is a little far from the Sights and trainstation, and the streets to get there pretty congested. The rooftop bar was a nice place to chill out :-)

I loved my stay here at Best Western. Just like my previous stays at Best Western in the US. The food was not up-to mark but the staff was amazing! Brilliant hospitality. Special thanks go the Front Office Team, as they knew soo much knowledge about the area. Differently recommended !!!!!!!!

We checked into this hotel on the 10th July 2017, after travelling from an Airport Hotel to stay for one night as we travelling down to Bentota the next day. The main road through Colombo getting to the hotel was a nightmare, and I was glad to pull into their underground car park. The check-in was fine, after some misunderstanding about my Debit Card being rejected as they tried to take the money in dollars. Having sorted that out and finishing our complementary drink, we were shown by two porters to our room on the fourth floor at the front of the hotel. The room was fine with a separate shower room and a large comfortable king size bed. The location is a little out of the centre of Colombo in district 6, but we got a Tuk Tuk to the central shopping area, which they arranged for us, so that was fine. Colombo was a little too busy and quite dirty, so we ended up back at the roof bar at the hotel, where they were playing fairly upbeat disco music, to my wife's liking. As my wife like wine, we asked what the cost is of a bottle, when they said £40, we said we would stick to the beer. The bar staff were very chatty, and we went back to the room and watched the TV for a while, which did have quite a few channels in English. We didn't go for the breakfast at 10 dollars each, and checked out about 11am to continue our road trip of Sri Lanka. To sum up, this hotel is clean, friendly, well positioned, reasonably priced and elegant, so I would recommend it for a short stop in Colombo. Mark & Michaela

I have patronised sort of this hotel for past four visits to Colombo. I like the ambience of the room. The wash rooms are clean and neat with modern fittings. The buffet breakfast does not have many options, and the quality is also not great but it' meets the basic needs. The best part of the hotel is its courteous, ever smiling staff at all levels.. This makes your trip pleasurable. I will come back!

My stay in this hotel was for approx 15 days. To start with Hotel staff, I will say they are very professional and at the same time very friendly also which makes your stay easy and comfortable. Breakfast is good and you can have variety of food options. VU RESTO-BAR on roof top is a good option to spend time in evening. Rooms are clean and almost have all amenities that you need for your stay. For me, overall good stay.

Great service - very friendly staff - a special mention goes to Mandira and Indika. You guys made me feel so welcome and at home. Hotel very clean and rooms also very clean. Just need a little upgrade in the Tv service in the rooms - maybe more channels. Breakfast was good but could do with a little more variety. The hotel is in quiet part of the town. The staff-Mr.Sulochana and others are quite friendly Hotel wi fi is good.Hotel lobby is very small, but one can have meetings on roof top-which is having excellent views.For a business visit the hotel is quite good with excellent rooms.

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. It's a small cosy hotel but very clean and modern. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially Mr. Nushan at the front desk who is always smiling. The bed and pillows are comfortable that I slept almost the instant my head hit the pillow. I wished the hotel provided bathroom amenities such as toothbrush, toothpaste and comb etc. Unfortunately, the location is not shopping-friendly. But getting a taxi ride or a tuk-tuk is not difficult. The staff at the bar on 8th Floor could be better trained. They didn't ask about the discount voucher that guests are entitled to when we ordered our drinks. This resulted in complications during payment. Also, my friend's burger was burnt and some parts were inedible. But all round, it was a comfortable and secure place to stay. Recommended.

This hotel was definitely one of the best we have stayed over. The dynamic staff service was impeccable. Hospitality provided is out of this world. Can't wait to go back! Thoroughly recommended. Superb location for any places near Colombo.

I received a warm welcome from the Front Office staff and the check in and checkout process was so quick and gentle. Rooftop Bar (VU) is an amazing place to chill in the evening. I hope you will build a swimming pool also I specially have to mention the lady, Ms. Mandeera she helped me a lot to make my stay memorable. This hotel is supet awesome. I was a late arrival, about midnight, but Nashun (sorry if i misspelled your name) took good care of me. He made sure i got all the information i needed. And when i was having trouble with the wifi, he problem solved it for me quickly. The room itself is really nice. The bed was comfortable, there are aminities in the room. It is also spacious. I definitely recommend this to anyone! Thank you for a great stay!

Whilst coming to Sri Lanka for a funeral isn't the greatest experience, the people here really looked after us. The rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet, while small, was very tasty. We'll stay here again.

The hotel was good my second stay but room this time was really a disappointment with the space provided, rest other things are ok with limited in house dinning facility. The hotel is located in a good location on the road connecting to other parts of the city.

What do you need in a foreign land? A Nice hotel and good food. Best Western Elyon clicks on both the parameters. Staff at the front office and at the restaurant is very pleasing and make you feel at ease. Rooms are big, well appointed and comfortable, however I would have liked daily replenishment of toiletries. Breakfast served in the restaurant was good, I specially liked the Dhal Curry and variety of breads on offer

We stayed in Best Western for three nights and the stay was pleasant. The rooms were adequate for me and my family of two children. The concierge was friendly and helpful. However, the staff at kitchen and pantry were a tad slow in serving meals specifically lunch.

The staff really got in a muddle with our food orders when several ordered one after the other. if you are in Colombo you can use 141 then 103 bus to get to the city if you don't want to use a tuktuk - get off at railway station for market and other attractions can be walked to from there. If you are there to sight see I recommend Tuk Tuk safari gala tour. 6 hours of fun food drink and sightseeing. Pick up and drop off at hotel

From making the reservation with Mr. Jayasiri and arriving for our group dinner, the process was swift and smooth. The experience was quite pleasant as we managed to get in line with the restaurant's happy hour (which was from 5 - 7pm) in the evening. The drink & menu pricing was quite reasonable but subject to 29% taxes. However the food, the ambiance & the view was well worth the money as everything was of high quality. I ordered a Bellini -a cocktail with sparkling wine & peach juice (highly recommended !!!). We had a young waiter to serve us who was a bit lost & a trainee, but overall he was quite attentive and seemed to seek his Manager's assistance when serving us food. The meals were quite tasty as well - well prepared, presented & of good quality. I'd just suggest that it might be helpful to place the salt & pepper shakers on the table & to make sure that the tables are well set up (to avoid any rickety shaking whilst guests are eating). Our table had a good view of the skyline and the Colombo city, we had a nice breeze while dining and the table & chairs were quite comfortable. Service sometimes once again proved to be a bit slow because we had to always hail the F&B staff in order to ask for additional things like water, more drinks & food etc, thank you. All facilities were good & Mr. Jayasiri & his colleague did make sure that we were well taken cared of eventually. I would therefore highly recommend the Resto Bar to everyone else & would definitely return to re-dine once again. A big thank you!

The best Western Elyon Colombo is a very good hotel for business travelers, it is a clean hotel with small but enough space for rooms, toilets are clean as well. The only gap would be the service speed in the hotel, I would advise the management to figure how they can speed this since it took me about half an hour to do the checkout since there was a mistake in the receipt they gave to me. Otherwise and overall this hotel is very good even if the prices at the roof top Bar is little high.

I am forced to give a rating of 1 for this property for the lack of a rating of 0. My reasons are as follows - a. Value for Money for this property is negative - while you would easily get a hotel like a cinnamon grand for 1.2 - 1.25 times the price; this one didnt event have 20% of facilities that any other hotel will have b. Very crampy rooms, no view, all basics in place but you can almost hear the noise when the top floor is thumping c. We went to the restaurant. I ordered fish which should be an easy make given that its an island - however my food arrives later than chicken and veg pasta (ordered by my friends) and the fish is hard and dry. When i refuse to eat it and on my insistence they call the chef - who seems to be in another world altogether and smiles at me while i am complaining. No pains taken to rectify d. We were on a company booked package. I had an orange juice along with my 'above' dinner and that was the only nutrition that i had. Having said that while the company had provided clear instructions, that dinner was on them, these guys conveniently forgot to note if any non - alcoholic drinks were also on them - and charged me for the same. Worse - they argued with me for 15 min while i was leaving for flight at 3 AM e. Worst location - there is nothing outside f. The only edible food in entire hotel is ceasar salad and french fries totally disappointing

We stayed here for the first night of a tour. The hotel is too far out to see anything of Colombo. The rooms were good and comfortable. My rating is based on the poor evening buffet. This was an undercooked and booting selection with no local food available. Don't really know why as there was at breakfast.. no view from the rooms as this hotel is in the business areal

Very nice hotel about 600Rps Tuktuk ride from the centre of town Quite a small room but clean and comfortable. Excellent rooftop bar/bistro with a view to downtown. Good free wifi. Helpful staff and good food.

The hotel is nice for a stop-over whilst in Colombo. The rooms are generously sized, modern and clean. The main down-side is that the hotel is not really located next to anything! It's a long drive from the airport or Colombo Fort Rail Station, you'll need to find transport getting to/from here.

The best western is a comfortable boutique hotel. Staff are friendly and eager to help. Rooms are comfortable, modern, with a good wifi connection and shower features. The hotel offers a taxi and tour service of sri lanka. I spent alot of time touring around with my taxi driver Winston who is great to talk to, knowledgeable of the areas, and clearly enjoys the job he does... my advice is ask for him if wanting an island tour. The front of hotel seems to be run by young adults who can be a bit lackadaisical when interacting with customers who are in need of information or help. I myself requested a wake up call at 2am which I never got but luckily enough was too worried this may happen to sleep. Another issue is that they tend to walk away from you very quickly after asking their help on something then get a bit huffed when you call them back. The food is ok. Not spectacular, but not bad either.

I visited best western colombo for a business stay I stayed like 12 days but at the time of checking out they put smoking charges and won't listen ...I have cleared bills every 2nd day and never they mentioned something like this .. knowing I was late for the flight they started acting rude and won't let me leave the premises.. would definitely file a lawsuit regarding the same . 2 people who had this masterplan without any proof is Chinthaka [--] executive chef and Arosh taking care of the reception. Look at their shameless faces while they did something like this. I had to pay else I would have lost my flight but never stay in this hotel everr

It was my third visit to this hotel. When a regular business traveler like me patronises a hotel, the reason for doing so is pretty obvious. Well appointed rooms with modern bathrooms, fairly well spread options in breakfast and more than anything else - the service, and all these at affordable tariff make this hotel an automatic choice, at least for me. I will continue to stay at this hotel during all my future trips to Colombo.

The hotel was average and all rooms are non smoking there is no windows in the room which i think its very dangerous in case of a fire or emergency, the hotel staff was not very professional, on checkin they did not even greet us and the manager in charge was very rude when we asked for a second key he said only one key per room, since it was two of us we requested for one more key and later reception staff sent it to the room.The bar on the terrace was nice but the food options are very limited. On check in and check out nobody offered assistance with direction and did not help with our luggage. Seems like nobody there cared if we come or go.

Not a suitable hotel for smokers.Breakfast is sumptuous and well laid out. Airconditioning tends to play prank. We tried to change setting from 22 degree C to 24 but even the hotel maintenance man could not sort out the problem.Next night it got stuck on 25 degree and would not budge.Overall it is a good and convenient location.

The staff are very helpful. They cannot do enough for u. Very cheerful and proffesional. Rooms very clean. Room sevice very good. Food outstanding. The staff will help you with whatever it is you are looking for and direct you in the right direction.

We enjoyed an 8 nights stay at this Best Western Hotel and must say "you get what you pay for": A small, mostly quiet (we couldn't hear any road noise at any time) hotel with very, very friendly and helpful staff! The bathroom was a bit small, but clean. And it was big enough for us to handle our baby in the shower too. The Nasi Goreng is really good there, as well as the baked chicken. Breakfast is standard. The location is fine and we never had stress to get anywhere. We would like to thank the entire staff for being so kind to us and looking forward to staying there again on our next Colombo holiday!

The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. A very good place to stay in Colombo. They have a rooftop bar and that place is a stunner. They have a wonderful menu. The atmosphere and service here are great. The place was pretty busy, but it seems that most people preferred to be at the bar. At night it feels romantic. Highly recommended!

The hotel room is clean with all necessary facilities. Bathroom is very spacious and very clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The lift is now in working order. The only disadvantage is the music is too loud but it does not go till late at night.mEasy access to hospital and restaurant.

Stayed there recently for one night. The location is excellent,. The property is nice, well maintained. Plenty of choice of food in restaurants, including vegetarian and Indian. Rooms are comfortable. Staff were warm and welcoming, very friendly. when i first walked into this place i know nothing but the receptionist of shift Rumesh did and excellent job in explaining all hotel information and facilities. This chap has been very helpful. Overall my stay has been pleasant.

This is my first time in Sri Lanka and stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. I being from India and traveled across 9 countries, I would say hotel is over priced to it it's services. Room size was ok, WiFi was good, Reception staff was smiling. But # Floor mats in the lobby smelled horrible. I can see mud all over it for all 4days. # Check in and Check out took 30min. # Even when you set the AC in the room at 24°C, in nights it got horribly cold. # Some staffs where not helpful - eg. During breakfast when I asked a spoon, staff said sir it's there please go and take it. I won't recommend it! Thanks

Spent a quick night here while in Colombo before we went to Yala National Park on a safari. This is the perfect stop over hotel. My wife booked it and I must say I was impressed. Its brand new as well so everything is sparkling. Good job guys !

I had booked this palace thinking it's a reputed chain..prices are on higher side compared to smaller chain on Galle road - no bell boy service which was irritating - service staff not that great, too many question asked . - breakfast is highly non veg oriented, veg dishes limited , request of 1 veg food as per not honoured as is done in most chains when food is not to our taste.. - costly water bottle -350 rs ...no RO water available to make tea... -only 3-4 CHANNELS which makes stay boring..no proper TV arrangement .. Only positive is rooms are good

This hotel was clean, hygenic and modern. The price was pretty reasonable for the service and comfort this hotel provides. The staff who cleaned our rooms, Nishant, was very polite to us and made the room look more presentable. However some spots were still seen on the floor but that is alright.The wifi strenght was exellent. The only problem we faced when we stayed in the hotel was because of the location. We did find good shopping malls except for House of Fashion in which the clothes were not up to the standard in my opinion. There were no food markets or restaurants like McDonalds, KFC, etc nearby. We had to travel a long distance to get food and buy clothes and acessories. Lastly, maybe this hotel can add a swimming pool for the guests as the weather in Colombo is very humid.

It's my second vacation for this year in Sri Lanka and my favourite place to stay is the Best Western Elyon Hotel. Very nice and friendly staffs. I enjoy the top roof cool place to relax. Good food??. High five to Mr. THARINDU he is very friendly.

The hotel was clean and presentable, but there were a few issues which have caused me to lower my rating. When I arrived, I had to lug my own suitcase up the short flight of stairs to the reception, as no staff were present. The check in was quick and efficient and staff were very courteous. My room was spacious, clean and well maintained, but the shower had to run for a good 5-7 minutes until it ran hot. Breakfast was adequate-the standard fare which most business hotels have. When I got back to my room the next day, after housekeeping had cleaned it, I was disappointed to note the vial of soap was not replenished, considering it was empty. But they promptly brought some more when I called the reception. When I checked out, I brought up these small issues with the reception staff who were appreciative of the constructive criticism. All in all it was a well maintained hotel, well priced with wonderful staff and conveniently situated, close to the shopping malls. I would definitely go back if I were to visit Colombo again.

The brand always had a positive vibes which failed this time on our colombo stay! We had no staff to help our luggages, very bad drilling noise around our room which was very disturbing and limited television channels which are repetitive! Breakfast was good but look for better option for this price

Modern and secludely situated from the hustle and bustle of the City, I really enjoy staying at this hotel. The staff overall from reception to restaurant and housekeeping are superb. Thumbs up to them. My only complaint is that the restaurant menu is very simple with a very slim variety and choice. Ever since I have been coming here the menu has hardly been changed. Come on management it is time for a new menu....

I spent 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed it a lot. I would honestly rank the front desk staff amongst the best I have ever had in terms of being genuine, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very compact, yet modern and functional. I felt like this hotel provides good value overall, and would consider this property to be a "higher end" Best Western in comparison to the average north american hotel chain standard. The location of the hotel is sub prime, but you are just a cheap taxi or tuk tuk ride from the prime locations of Colombo. The rooftop lounge is very nice, although the menu is somewhat limited.

If you have work outside the city, and don't want to deal with the crazy colombo traffic, this is a fantastic location. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are genuinely hospitable. Not like the mechanical hospitality you get in Singapore, Bangkok and Indonesia. I must say the best person out of the lot is Ravindra in housecleaning, who does a great job in cleaning the room and went the extra mile to create some animals out of bath towels for my two children, who got very excited every time they saw one. I think in the end he ran out of animals to make as I ended up staying more than 2 weeks. One draw back I hope the management will tackle is the front entrance. It is right next to a main road with high speed traffic. When I was at the reception a guest had opened the front door fully and it did not automatically swing back to close and my 2 year old just ran outside. It was a miracle she did not run across the main road heading straight for the traffic. She just there with me seconds ago and when I turned to look for her again she had disappeared and a guest at the reception informed me. Thank god she ran on the pedestrian and the receptionist had run after her to collect. The security staff does not watch the front door very well. But I really thing they need to put some safety feature or some kind of fencing. In that sense it is not a very child friendly hotel to stay. The other item they should tackle is cocktails. They need to train the barman on how to make good cocktails and the volume in each cocktail. I tried a Mojito and a margarita it was no where near the Sri Lankan hotel standard apart from being international standard. I requested a second batch for the Mojito as the first was watery and did not have the right balance of ingredients, but even the second batch was not good. The second time I ordered a margarita and was below average and decided not to waste my breath by complaining as the guy simply cannot do the job. If you come on work and want to stay outside the city and don't have 2 to 6 year old children. This is a fantastic place to be.

It's my local partner's choice to settle me down at the best western for my business trip. Everything is perfect and convenient during my stay. Wifi is stable; cozy room, great rooftop bar, etc. Every staff is so kind and helpful to support me in details. I'd love to stay again in my next trip here. The short points might be that there is big markets around but Tuktuk visits often in this road. That should be not a problem. You can take Uber in Colombo as well. People said Tuktuk is only RB 50/ per right. Overall, it's a good choice for business stay!

This hotel is clean & modern. The front desk staff is sweet & helpfull. The lobby & coffee house is glass panel & you can see the road as you eat or wait at reception area. A tinted glass will be better to ward-off sunshine. Coffee house staff Thirindu is friendly and efficient. Location is far from town,you cant walk around to find shopping bazar or restaurant to eat, but hotel staff can easily find a taxi for you.

Relaxing hotel with the Therunda from Down Under providing great service in the restaurant !!! Roof top bar is super enjoyable too with nice views through the days and light views through the night. The rooms are well presented and hotel staff accessible and super helpful.

We were in Colombo for 4 nights and had a fantastic time. The rooms are brand new - comfortable bed and large shower - and the rooftop bar has an amazing view of the city. Reliable and fast wifi. The staff were also all lovely and very accommodating. Our waiter Tharindu was particularly wonderful.

I booked this hotel for about 10 days during our trip around Sri Lanka and later to the Maledives. Clean rooms, very good food, nice and helpfull stuff. Only: try to veryfy Tuk-Tuk drivers in front of your hotel, because they (or some of them) cheat. We had such experience twice.

Stayed here for 1 week. Hotel is nice enough. Room is spacious, comfortable and clean. Bathroom is good standard. Breakfast is good, although it only starts after 7am. Downstairs staff and security staff are very helpful and friendly. Highlight of this hotel is the rooftop bar, which badly needs a supervisor or manager. The service is terrible. Waiting for staff, waiting for drinks, waiting for food. I even waited 20 minutes 1 night for my bill and decided to go to my room and settle the next day. Waiter decided to knock on my "do not disturb" door at 11pm to hand me the bill... 1 hour after I asked for it!!! Sort out your rooftop bar staff.

I like the food of restaurant. The staff (particularly Mr.Tharindu) of hotel I found very much helpful as it was my first trip to Colombo. But all is going well. The hotel location is really very good. The top floor bar is giving full city view.

Roof top bar has a nice view and good place to chill The gym has enough equipment to workout Room size is good and comfortable bed Breakfast is OK for a 3 star Cons The location is not good. Closest supermarket or a small grocery shop is 2 km away. And nothing around in walking distance. Not sure how reviewers wrote locating is good. Room service closes at 11pm and the food is sad and you will pay 30% in tax. Bit expensive for a small sandwich Taxi booked thru the hotel to the airport is twice the price of what you would pay for airport taxi service from the airport to the hotel TV very basic channels a handful Not sure if I would recommend it or not.

A great place to stay if you want to have a quiet night after busy work during the day. Two places to hang out- Bistro, the catering centre at ground floor and Citylight, the sky bar to enjoy beer and windy environment! Look for Mr. Tharindu at Bistro and Mr. Thilan at Citylight if you need any assistance as they are constantly providing professional and friendly services! In overall, I'm very satisfied with my 1 week stay and definitely will come back.

Hi! I found the Best Western Elyon Colombo as a delightful place to stay. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The service is efficient, and the staff are courteous. One pleasant surprise is their breakfast buffet - it offers a wide variety of sumptuous fare and is not to be missed. Tharindu, who serves during breakfast, is notable for his kind and helpful nature, and courteous service. His attentive service makes breakfast more enjoyable. Other good surprises here include the panoramic rooftop bar and the front desk staff. Overall, i look forward to the two more days I will be staying here, and recommend the Best Western Elyon Colombo to visitors in Colombo. Cheers! Kesavan Deenadayalan

I just stay in this hotel for one night I just want to say some point about: -very friendly people's -rooms are very comfortable -I ask for extra bed they deliver one very quickly -the breakfast it's really delicious and diverse there is many choices for food

Super atmosphere although very close to the city. Especially for dinner events.Very convenient location especially for those living on the south of Colombo. Ample parking available also has 59 bed rooms. Food is also good. Tastefully decorated - no fuss interior decor. Ideal for family or small get togethers.

I have found excellent room service. Especially "Nishantha" (room boy) provided remarkable and best of the best room service I've ever experience. The food at both the restaurants is really fantastic and worth eating. One should try the rooftop resturant also while staying or visiting Best Western Elyon Colombo.

Nothing to write more. Spent about 6-7 hours at the roof top restaurant in calm. Heart-robbing environment in busy evening. Very clean. Specially wide range of foods and beverages to select. Try Panini Combo - Must have addictive experience.

Comfortable stay, friendly staff, & convenient location.. plus points of this hotel.. Since my earlier feedback regarding delayed check in services... things have improved a lot, and the current staff is very prompt and courteous. I now always stay at this hotel during my visits to Colombo, and would definitely recommend this both for business travels, as well as for vacation..

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. This hotel gives free wifi and can arrange airport pick up and drop. Hotel can arrange sightseeing tours. They have a roof top bar which is very expensive. They have a decent restaurant with limited veg food options. Over all experience is ok. Only thing I did not like is they gave the room with two single bed for the couple travellers like us which I changed after requesting them.

The hotel is basic and clean. The room is nice with a TV and lovely shower. It was a good place to settle after our flight and the staff were very helpful. The rooftop bar has a great view of Colombo and has a nice atmosphere. It is 20 minutes from the town centre but this becomes 40 minutes in busy traffic. We got a taxi and a few rickshaws, which ended up being the same price until we managed to get a metered rickshaw. The hotel can order a cab or flag down a rickshaw but coming back was a bit tricky, as they didn't seem to know where we were staying. Saying 'Baseline Road' seemed to help.

Clean, comfortable and modern hotel but far away from the city centre. The vegetarian food in the restaurant was very poor so we didn't have breakfast. But a nearby restaurant called JackTree was absolutely excellent! Kind caring staff who provided useful tourist information. Hotel is on a bus route so accessible transport for the more adventurous during the day (I used the buses and it was fine). If you want to travel to the city centre at night then it is very limited and you are basically forced to use a taxi service provided by 2 brothers who charge exorbitant rates. That is the only thing that put me off using this hotel. Otherwise great clean hotel.

Our stay at Best Western Elyon was pleasant. The staff were excellent, all spoke English. We only had room service for breakfast and it was very good. They have continental and English breakfast plus local breakfast food. You must visit their rooftop bar which has a beautiful atmosphere and spectacular views especially at night.

This is the best hotel of its type that I have stayed in. It is modern, clean, comfortable and above all, the staff are friendly, genuine and nice. also has great wifi, a gym and can serve a nice coffee in their upstairs rooftop cafe.

I wish I could give a 0 rating here. Worst possible staff ever... They overcharge you on the rooftop bar items as well. First time i have heard a hotel where a guest is charged Room Service charges on food ordered at the restaurant itself. We had to raise the issue with the manager who then confirmed it was an error on their part. During checkout we had to call the reception for more than 7-8 times but nobody answered. When we got the luggage ourselves to the reception we found the guy sleeping at the desk. He showed us the bills.. When asked about the excess charges on the mini bar items, he right away said...there was no point arguing as we cannot leave the hotel without paying the bill. Idiots of the first order. The manager over the phone was too sleepy to be bothered by our complaint about his behavior. Summary: There are much better hotels with a better location and surely with a much much better staff. Avoid this place.

I decided to stay in this hotel due to the fact of being a new hotel with a competitive rate ,however I was very disappointed with the standards and services ,as I entered the hotel I was struggling to lift my baggage no one helped with the baggage ,when I approached the reception he raised his finger asking to wait which was very rude and I had to carry the baggage to the room by my self being a lady.Then I tried ordering fresh brewed coffee and the room service said that they only have Nescafé how cheap is this ,they asked me to go to the main restaurant and check just to make things worse even for breakfast they don't have brewed coffee instead they have cheap Nescafé and some coffee powder ,the server told that I could make the coffee by my self with the powder which just shocked me ,there was no coffee filter or strainer and I had to request him to make the coffee . On another note room service adds high service charges to the bill there is no percentage disclosed on the menu so beware of hidden charges.Rooms and the hotel was new and clean ,needs improvement on other essential areas.

Best westin is a modern hotel in Colombo. Good for business use. Rooms were clean and large. Breakfast was above average and there is a well stocked bar on the roof that is nice - but they need to turn the music down up there! Staff were efficient and friendly.

This hotel was one of the best places that we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The service was faultless, all of our requests were met quickly and without hassle. The staff were all super friendly. We made the most of the gym which had all the equipment you need for a quick workout. The rooftop bar had great sunset views - much better than some of the more advertised bars in Colombo. The room features were great - amazing shower and super comfy bed with a duvet! The food was exceptional. We highly recommend this place to other travellers who are after a little bit of luxury when backpacking through Sri Lanka like ourselves.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 22 nights when we visited Sri Lanka in March. This is a very comfortable hotel with very good facilities but what we really enjoyed was the friendliness of all the staff at the hotel. They all found time to have a quick chat with their guests and always served with a smile. The hotel is modern and can conveniently located. Will booking the same hotel again when we travel again in November.

Had a great stay at the hotel and the manager Mr. Rodney was very helpful and cheerful. The hotel was very clean and the front desk staff were very friendly. However, the food was not that great. The location of the hotel is in a safe and a clean area.

Checked in for one night so that we could be closer the the airport, (approximately 1.5hours. Hotel staff were excellent. We had a connecting room and both rooms were sparkly clean. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

The food & Beverages are very good and reasonably priced too. The service was excellent and very efficient. It was abit quiet when we got there n left. But that's what we wanted so it was a good experience in all and we had a lovely Time. Keep up the good service????

Our stay in the best western hotel was an enjoyable two night stay to begin our trip with in Sri Lanka. The lobby was very clean, the rooms were spacious and the staff very friendly. Would definitely stay here again when in Colombo.

Clean place with fast internet . Gym is small. Breakfast is limited at least. In room dining is not bad but nothing special. Staff is very helpful and polite. Room is quiet and space is ok for one person .For two it would be tight,the room I was at least. Tuk tuk to trade center is about 250-300 with meter.Make sure you fix price before getting in one if they are not using meter . Didn't see any restaurants near by but might be wrong as I walked only on one side of the road ( on the right exiting the hotel).

Small, two single beds (I would say slim bed). Not changing towels regularly and provide consumable regularly. Hotel didn't provide tooth brush and paste. Food was good. Supportive staff and nice rooftop bar. Fully non-smoking and quite. Please watch your hand when closing toilet(washroom) door otherwise it hurts fingers (door and hand-basin very close proximity).

Nice rooms with good modern facilities, room service is good. Roof top restaurant is very good. But the gymnasium can be improved, its in very small room, with only one treadmill and no machines & equipments for exercises.

Pleasant welcome from all staff when we arrived. Rooms quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent views from the rooftop restaurant. Restaurant meals were acceptable, breakfast also satisfactory.

Honestly, I was not staying overnight in the hotel so won't be able to pass a review about rooms etc, but jumped into the hotel to connect with a conference call, while expecting to have a lunch or a snack during or after my meeting. I asked hotel for the business center or rather a quiet place to connect with conference as several people were seated in restaurant, while small lobby area was rich with background music. but i was said there is neither business center nor such place exist . then I was guided to roof top bar but it was not suited for a conference call ((due to noises of vehicles from ground levels and bar musics. However roof top bar looks great to enjoy in a evening. Finally i jumped back to car at hotel parking and obtained my meeting and back for lunch to the restaurant. I had nasi goreng sea food and beverages (Bill Ref. 13564) and however food was good while not having at least a mini business center in a hotel located in heart of city is a big negative. point and all the puzzles that faced at my first random visit to hotel should not be for a guest.

The Best Western Elyon Colombo is a truly great hotel. The only possible thing it doesn't have that you might want is a pool. The room are beautiful, new, nicely decorated, well-cleaned and reasonably spacious. The gym is up on the roof and gives a great view of the city (oh, and the gym has air conditioning too). The lobby restaurant is really good. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. The staff in the restaurant, at the front desk, and throughout the building are extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Nice place to stay. Checkin / checkout takes too long but room are nice. Had to carry luggage on own to room ( no concierge)Not so big but nicely made. Ideal for 2 people only ( even child of 10 yrs will not fit in bed). Room service was not quick. Avoid higher floors on Saturday as loud music from bar. Would recommend this hotel to all who are looking for modern amenities at budget rates.

Arranged for my family to stay here during their trip to Sri Lanka.... Since i ws unable to go along.. dropped a mail to the management of the Best Western Elyon hotel to tk good care of my family... They offered a wonderful service. Since my parents were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary... the front office staffs even prepared them with a surprise fruits salad as a welcome snack.... Thank you for everything to the staffs and management of the hotel... You go an extra mile to fulfil your customers needs... I am truly amazed with the service offered.. Heartfelt thank you.

I stayed for a week. The room was spacious. Breakfast was good. Staff was courteous. Fantastic view of the city from the roof top. Gym facility was also good. Overall a great experience. Great option for both business and family travelers.

stayed here as our flight landed at 3am so just somewhere for a few hours' sleep before beginning our tour. Perfectly adequate. Excellent bathrooms, but can't imagine wanting to be there for more than a night. It was like a UK business hotel. You could be anywhere in the world, and the location is certainly not attractive, but if you just want somewhere clean to lay your head for a while, this is fine

This hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good but hugely overpriced when compared to everywhere else we ate at in Sri Lanka but we made the mistake of booking room only and paying for breakfast separately. It's quite far from town but really easy to get a tri-shaw. The roof top bar is pretty impressive!

Stayed at the Best Western in Colombo for 8 nights. The staff at this hotel certainly contributed to making my trip to Sri Lanka an unforgettable one. They were extremely polite, helpful, pleasant and informative. Sulochana in particular deserves special mention for he went above and beyond what's expected, to assist me and I couldn't possibly thank him enough!

We had 4 night stay at hotel. There was nothing which impressed us. Small lobby & no regular toiletries. Funny rules no outside food may be brought to room, left with no option but to have lunch and dinner from limited items they offer in their restaurant or as room service. As we have to leave early morning we cleared our bills at night. In early morning while leaving were told there was some mistake done by their staff hence recalculation etc. Inefficient and rude staff took 10-15 minutes, luckily our plane was late otherwise we would have missed it. Taxi was booked for airport drop but no one cared that taxi man waiting for 15-20 minutes but to inform that taxi has arrived. They have to fumble to locate whether taxi was booked by them or not.

We stayed here for a night, and really, the rooms were so wonderful, we wished we could stay more, but due to schedule had to move else where. We checked in late night, but the staff cooperated very nicely and politely. The place is amazing. Very modern structure. Amazingly comfortable beds, well equipped bathrooms, nice interior in room. Had a really good night sleep, and in the morning the breakfast was just wonderful. Amazingly delicious eggs, fruits, sausages, cereals, bread toasts, and additionally, the local breakfast was also available. Everything was just "DELICIOUS".

This was my wife and my first trip to Sri Lanka and we stayed at the Best Western both at the beginning and end of our 2 week trip for the Colombo portion of our visit. The hotel appears to be brand new and was extremely clean with well-kept lovely rooms of a good size. The location was very good and only a few minutes away from shopping and a short trip to the airport. We ate at the restaurant several times and it exceeded our expectations with excellent food and outstanding service. The most amazing part of the hotel was the staff, which were very attentive, professional and always wearing a big smile. The staff all spoke very good English and anyone from the West would feel right at home. The Internet in the hotel was also fast and flawless. The lounge area on the roof has a great view of the city and was a fantastic spot for pictures. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Colombo area.

My business commitments require me to visit Sri Lanka for 3 - 4 nights every alternate month. Having decided not to go back ever again to Cinnamin Red ( pardon me for taking names), I tried my luck with Best Western. I am happy to say that my luck did favour me; my judgement was right in every sense. Well appointed rooms, clean and neat bathroom area with good linens and very careful courteous staff! Breakfast spreads were surely limited. No complaints, no regrets. I would prefer to go back to this hotel on regular basis.. Wish they offer better price!!!

Booked into this hotel earlier today and to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. The rooms are tiny with an awful view. The staff however, are fabulous and the food is great too. Unfortunately your choice of hotel aren't based on either of the good points of this hotel. I booked this hotel for a total of 13 nights and am deeply disappointed at my choice!! Would not recommend!!

The hotel has western standards, the staff was very nice and spoke good english (which is not always the case hotels in Sri Lanka). The room was pretty small but fully equipped with everything you need in a hotel. The bathroom was very modern and somewhat fancy. Unfortunately, the hotel is a little far away from all the interesting spots of the city as wall as the airport.

We made an one week roundtrip through Sri Lanka. Our last stay was in the best western in Colombo. We loved diner, the bar and the view from the roof and the friendly personal in the Hotel. The room was nice and clean.

Awesome Rooftop Lounge, decently priced, polite staff, small Gym... lacked a good Swimming pool... that would have made the place just perfect on all segments. Breakfast was excellent... rooms are slightly small...

I stayed in Best Western for 2 nights and after a few days i came back again for a few hours. The staff is so friendly and they are very helpfull!! There were a few small issues in my room and they fixed it straight away. The food is realy good and more than enough. If i ever go to Colombo again, i'm defenitly staying in Best Western Elyon Colombo!!! Thanks for the great service!

The hotel looks very clean and tidy. Rooms are pretty good since its new property. It was awarded TripAdvisor Best Hotel for 2015!!! A bit dissapointed if serving Dinner at Bistro restaurant. We ordered a cream of chicken soup, nasi goreng rice and Pad Thai noodle, devilled beef The serving time was way too long. We almost waited 45 mints for the soup to be served then another 30 mints for main course. The staff were not competent and looked more on still training. Finally to pay the bill it took another 20 mints since the waiter did not know how to get payment done by credit card with promotional discount. The roof top bar has a nice view but could not try any cocktails due to bar closed on Poya Holiday in Sri Lanka.

I paid only 60$ including all taxes for this stay and received the best value for my money!! International standards, clean, nice rooms with adequate space and nice front desk staff. Restaurant provided a real nice dinner (à la carte). Will definitely stay again...

Although the hotel's location is not one of best in Colombo, the Hotel is quite good in terms of cleanliness and service. the room was quite comfortable and the front desk was quite promt. But they charge very high for the cab service. All in all a good hotel and stay for us.

We stayed here twice, one night at either end of our holiday. Rooms are clean and nice, staff are accommodating, good air con in the lobby! Breakfast is only ok, and expensive. Roof top bar is very expensive, but with a good view of the city. It is a bit far away from Colombo Fort, about 15-20 mins in a tuk tuk costing about 500 LKR (£2.50) each way.

Location is good, check in process was extremely convenient, staff is helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean, wifi is complimentary and is good. We did have meals in the hotel though restaurant looked good.

I checked into this hotel with a large group. We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days. The location of this hotel is very convenient - easily accessible and closer to many popular places of Colombo city. The place may look small, but it has got people with big heart! The staff that welcomes you, the people who service the rooms, staff in the roof-top and the mezzanine floor restaurant are a bunch of hand-picked people who are carved for their profession. They adhere to an unique standard of professionalism in customer dealing - they will make you forget any anguish that you may have, within a snap, with their down-to-earth approach and humbleness. The chef is so conscious that he will walk to you and get a direct feedback about the food. He just does not stop there. You will see the immediate response in his action when you go for your next meal. One seldom sees such careful attention to guests and their taste of food anywhere else. The chicken curry they served during breakfast reminded me of my mother's cooking - it was so tasty due to the right combination of spices. Many of my group members became a fan of that dish. On security, this hotel needs a special mention. They do not simply equip the gadgets for show - if necessary you can fully trust on their functionality. You can stay completely at peace when they are busy taking care of your security without bothering you. All common areas are covered by CCTV, so any interventions are tracked 24x7. I will love to stay in this facility whenever I visit Colombo - for the people and the peace of mind that this hotel offers.

I stayed at the Best Western Elyon Colombo for one night after a meeting in the periphery of Colombo. I had difficulty finding the hotel (poor map-reading and a spot of dehydration) but the hotel set a great impression from the start by helpfully directing my tuk-tuk driver to the front door. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted and presented with a refreshing, cool drink. The reception staff engaged me in pleasant conversation and, umprompted, offered me a room with a better view when I remarked on the beauty of Sri Lankan sunsets! The room was well-decorated and felt very homely. The big picture window was a bonus. The important bits - bed, bathroom - were comfortable and clean respectively, There was a reasonable mini bar, too. I highly recommend a drink on the roof bar. The views are fantastic. Thanks, folks!

Had two nights stay at this hotel. Located about 40 minutes from the airport on a busy road but once inside you do not hear the noise. The rooms are well equipped, the bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows. The room was clean and tidy. Water hot at all times. All staff were very obliging and willing to assist with anything you requested. The restaurant food was lovely, breakfast was included in our package deal and it had plenty of choice for all tastes. It was hot and delicious. Had an evening meal which again was plentiful and delicious. The price was very reasonable. my husband requested bread and butter pudding as a desert but the waiter was unsure whether this was still available. Tharindu (waiter) went away and came back to say he was able to get my husband the pudding. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you THARINDU for taking the trouble to find out and accommodate my husbands request. There is a very lovely rooftop bar with a great vista over Colombo. Well worth going up to have a look and a drink should you so desire. A lovely hotel very restful to have a sleep there after a long flight. Would highly recommend a stop over here.

Stayed here for two nights. Chose because of its location to the airport, and it did not disappoint. Rooms were clean and homely. Food in the restaurant was sublime, and staff were polite and efficient. The buffet was great, with both Sri Lankan and Western food on the menu. Also has an rooftop bar with gorgeous views of Colombo. Would go to this hotel anytime. Best stay of our trip to Sri Lanka. Thank you for your hospitality.

Its a comfy hotel with a decent restaurant in ground floor, bar and lounge at the top floor and a gym. Rooms are clean and well equipped with sofas, LCD, mini refrig aerator, safe and closet. Hotel staff is courteous and helping. The hotel is exactly on a main road. Breakfast buffet has a decent spread. Limited options on the breads. However daily there would be 2 srilankan delicacy, eggs to order, types of potatoes, muffins, fruits, juices, tea/coffee, cereal and baked bean. Lunch and dinner is also available here. I tried the Srilankan veg mean for lunch and it was good. Wifi speed is good both in the common area as well as in the rooms. It was a good stay for us.

Stayed here for just a night. Its a perfect hotel to stay once you land in Colombo before you head off on your tour around the island. We did this. The food was good and the rooms were comfortable. Well done !

All staff of Best Western is excellent in behaviour especially at reception and restaurants. Their service are very good. I specifically mention the names Sulochana, Mandira, Samitha. Rooftop bar and Gym are also good. But in Gym you mad sone more machines.

I Have stayed for one night 18th - 19th March 2016. Very efficient Front Desk staff, very quickly done check-in process, Dont know what is in, but nice cool welcome drink... Room looks perfectly done, TV, Wifi,Comfy Bed Minibar, nice view.. Wifi is most you can get fro free.. Will return back on next visit to Colombo.. Regards/Afiz.

Spent 1 night in Colombo before we headed on our countrywide tour and this was the perfect hotel. Its convenient to get here from the airport and in the city so you are not far away from shopping centers and restaurants. Good stop over hotel !

The first thing we remember about this hotel is its food options. The food variety and taste was better than all other places we visited in Sri Lanka. Rooms are smaller but neat and clean. Staff is friendly and will help you with cab bookings and city tours

My partner and I only stayed the first night of our Sri Lankan holiday here and what a pleasant start! It was a nice, quiet hotel with standard facilities. Unfortunately as we were on the move to Bentota we didn't have too much of a look around. We ordered breakfast to the room which was reasonably fast, although a couple of items were forgotten they were soon brought up to our room. Breakfast was fairly basic but good enough. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, one main gentleman at the front desk was absolutely wonderful- hilarious and made everything very easy.

The hotel is good and so nice roof top bar.the food and beverage department is friendly as specially Mr.Tharindu he is doing a good job at the dining area.and as well very friendly and he is like a good guide and thanks a lot Mr.Tharindu. you did a great and excellent service to us.thsnks Mr.Tharindu

We stayed in the hotel for one night, the room was clean and supplied with towels and the works. It was a double bed, however, the room wasnt very spacious for 2 people. The Receptionist was a bit slow to my liking when we first checked in, considering that we were coming from Kandy and were checking in at 3 PM, we were exhausted and he wasnt very efficient. But he was very helpful and friendly when we needed guidance as to where to eat later in the evening. The roof top is amazing to chill and relax before going to bed and after having a tiring day. Breakfast selection was okay, no matter what you will find something to eat. I loved the fact that smoking is not allowed at all on the premises and the stickers they had in the bathrooms to conserve water.

Great front office staff, available 24-7, very helpful. Very clean rooms with good basic amenities. Establishment is fairly new and hope the management continue to maintain premises and rooms for years to come. The route from airport to hotel and vice versa is very direct. Hotel offers airport pick-up services, and I have tried them on two occasions, both occasions picked up at requested time, 2am, takes about half-an hour barring any traffic jams. The room prices are bit dear especially due to service charges and taxes.

I WAS CAME HERE FOR A MY BUSINES WORKS AND THEIS HOTEL IS VERY GOOD.AND THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY SPECIALLY Mr.Tharindu who is doing a good runer in the restaurant.and he was intraduse me monthly promotion pot biriyani its superb.i love it and its soo tasty food.and Mr.Tharindu you did a great service to me in my all day dining in the restaurant.and as well you is good at speaking english very nice to here youre pronuinsing english language.soo thanks to u Mr.Tharindu for making our stay at hotel best wetern elyon very comfortabley.

Best western hotel nice place to stay in Colombo nd amazing food served by them.Mr tharindu is great person in dinner area.every person in best western is warm hearted nd always ready for help.if I come again i will stay again n same place that is best western in Colombo

Lovely service and very clean...The staff are friendly, esp Tharindu in the restaurant!! The rooftop bar also is great entertainment...had a fun saturday night. Can definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Very good roof top bar and good food on the brekfast and the roof top staff good.specially restaurant staff is very very good but the man calling restaurant manager he is speaking soo louder on the restaurant withoughg caring guest.i was sooo disopointed with that but i met a good friendly staff member on the restaurant calling Mr.Tharindu he is soo good and he was introduse us good food it was soo tasty and he is good runer on the restaurant and doing a good one man showe on the restaurant.soo i maked my dissopointed mind sooo happy of the hotel due to him.thanks Mr.Tharindu for you making my trip very goodly so i recommend this hotel is good and can have a good service by Mr.Tharindu.

Staying here presently, booked for a week. The breakfast is quite a spread, the service is excellent, THARINDU deserves a special mention, extremely friendly staff and a good experience so far . The gym is pretty well equipped and the wifi is fast. The bar on the roof top is a decent place to spend your evenings.

I stayed from 25th to 28th Feb as a solo post surgery patient. Even though I did not mention it to them from check-in to check-out they helped me in numerous ways. I must specially thank Mandeera for her excellent support and care. She ensured to change my room to a bigger one for me to walk for my post surgery healing. Excellent service!!

Location: Pretty central in Colombo but not really near any restaurants or cafes. Or grocery stores. You'll have to take a cab or tuk tuk for that. Room: Decor was simple. Decent queen size bed for my single occupancy room. A tad hard but I like that. TV was a flat screen and there were travel ready universal outlets. Always appreciate that. Spacious and had a nice view of the city. Wifi is slow but I think in general it is all over Sri Lanka. You can get a SIM card from the airport with 4G data. That will cover your speeds. Bathroom: Large with a rain shower. Good water pressure and water was hot. Amenities: Roof top bar from some drinks was nice though it closes at midnight. A bit bummed about that as I was there for business but left on a Saturday morning. So my Fri night ended early when the bar closed. In general most of the restaurants around the are close at 11ish. Maybe it's a Colombo thing. Service: Nice people. Very friendly and inviting. Super quick check in. Was up in my room in about 5 mins. There is also a buffet breakfast - Western food with a small Sri Lankan food section. Affordable too. Overall: A good hotel for business. And holiday if you're out traveling. If you're planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel, you might be disappointed. One of the newer cleaner hotels.

Very nice roof top bar.and the food and beverage staff is soo friendly and as well very good and the staff member who is k own as Mr.Tharindu he is extra special to us of speaking the language.we was in problem of speaking good English person.and Mr.Tharindu you is good at speaking English language it's rare to find a person in the restaurant who can handle the English language.soo we are coming back to this hotel and we are wishing to you Mr.Tharindu you will be here next year as well so do you're best and I got you're name by you're name tag.tgis for you thanking for giving us a good treat Mr.Tharindu do the best.

Excellent Hotel,very kindly and clean... Service and reception team are amazing. The Nightclub at the rooftop is also a nice feature and makes the visit in this hotel perfect. In any case 5+ stars from me?????? Any time stay in colombo,I will book this hotel again..... Thank's very much to the hole team, great job!!

Fantastic customer service and attention to detail. Great stay, thank you. I traveled in a group for an international conference and Nishika went above and beyond to try to accommodate us all -no easy feat when dealing with professional people with varying needs!

Relatively average business hotel but staff were just fantastic and did everything to make the stay memorable. Rooms clean and nicely decorated, great rooftop bar - and even really good (and free!) internet. Thirandu in restaurant, Samita on reception and Rodney (Front Office Manager) were especially attentive and welcoming. Very good value for money Location not central, though taxis plentiful and cheap. Highly recommended.

I friend and me stayed 6 nights at this hotel. The rooms were clean, well furnished and the restaurant in the hotel served good food. The workout facility on the roof was in an enclosed room and very small (2 treadmills, elliptical, and some free weights. The issue was that staff or security stole $100 from my room and $200 from my friends room. The only time our money was left out of our sight was when we were working out from 6AM till 7:30AM every morning. We filed a complaint with the manager and followed up twice with them so they could check their security cameras and no call back or communication from them on our stolen money. This had to have been an inside staff theft as doors were locked to our room so someone else with access to our room had to have known we were working out and stole the money then.

The Best Western Elyon is great for business travelers, or anyone looking for western amenities & standards in Colombo. Clean rooms, wifi, tv, AC, a good breakfast, & helpful/friendly staff make it a safe choice for short stays. It is not near the beach, however if visiting for business, it is closer to the airport & city center than most of the beach resorts.

I loved staying in Best Western. Beds were comfortable, Quite big rooms, great amenities. Hotel lacks with Swimming Pool, and no staff to pick luggage. You have pick your own luggage. Breakfast included was having a good choice. Hotel doesnt have a Beach View as it is far from beach. It gives City view. It is recommended for a pleasant stay.

Easy access to everything being on Baseline Road. Fabulous roof top bar, fastest wifi in Sri Lanka and great showers. Could not ask for anything else (except a pool, which they are working on). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurants have a great selection of food.

The room itself is nice and comfortable, there are full of facilities. The bed is nice as well, so I have a good sleep here. The staffs are all friendly and very helpful, they are always willing to help you to find things and have a very big smile every time we get back to the hotel.

The hotel has clean and comfortable room. Good place to stay with family. The Hotel staff are very nice and friendly . Good restaurant with a variety of food. "Gihan " the Touk touk driver is very helpful. He can take you around to any medical appointment.

Overall the hotel is pretty mediocre. The only good thing was that the rooms were nice and cozy but with a horrible view. Also had good wifi. We had made a reservation and paid for same online at a rate of approx LKR 9000. When we got the the hotel however, oddly they informed us that the card was declined (not possible) and wanted us to pay at check out. They over charged us nearly LKR 2000 saying that the conversion rates apply etc etc...best to call the hotel and confirm the rate before paying online. Ordered room service fruit platter for almost LKR 400 and it was absolutely horrible. The worst pieces of fruit ever, inedible. Won't be visiting again. WOuld only recommend if it's for a short stay and if all other places are booked..
